[ Chuckles ] Are you okay? Um, y-yeah, I-I-I — sorry, I just didn’t hear you come in. I could see that. You looked like you were a million miles away.

[ Chuckles ] Well, I didn’t hear back, which isn’t like you, so I decided to come by and check. Oh, my god. That’s right. I got — I got your text. I just… had so much going on. I’m sorry. What — what’s up? Well, um, dinner, for one.

[ Chuckles ] Are you still coming? When? Today. It’s thanksgiving. Ah, right. Curtis, are you okay?

[ Sighs ] Uh, hey, rocco, danny, check out the gophers float. He’s wearing his hat sideways like you guys do when you’re up at bat. That’s funny. I like baseball, too. That’s right, sweetie. You tell the boys you can hit and field. My — my bad, scout. My sincerest apologies, honey. Accepted.

[ Chuckles ] This is sweet. How come we’ve never watched the wyndham’s thanksgiving parade up here before? Well, probably ’cause we’ve never, um…

[ Clears throat ] …Been invited before. Play your cards right. You’ll get invited again. That’s cool. Well, I’m happy you guys came. It can get boring at the parades. Hey, l ook, it’s santa! Oh, look, yeah! Hi, santa. So, um… I guess I really do have to, uh, lock down that other invite. I think I can arrange that.

That was awesome. Good. Take your coats off. Who’s ready for some treats? Where are the treats? Uh, you know, we’ll get that sorted out, but right now, I got a movie, uh, ready to go upstairs. “Christina comes home for christmas.” Ugh. Come on. Danny, come on. You’re being rude. Dad, that movie’s ancient. Well, yeah, darn right, it is. That’s the whole point. It’s that good, old-fashioned christmas magic, man. I want to see it. That’s my girl. Go upstairs, and I’ll get you some snacks ready.

[ Sighs ] Oh, you saved my butt. They don’t want to watch that movie, but you got all these snacks and treats, so that’s good. I know. I got some tricks up my sleeve. Yeah. I have, um, cookies, muffins… mm-hmm? …Doughnuts, and cupcakes from kelly’S. And what about coffee? And hot chocolate. Mm. Do you think the kids are getting along? Yeah, I mean — I-I mean, I know rocco misses charlotte and, uh, the holidays are always tough without his mom, but… man, he’s happy. He seems really happy with — with scout and danny. Danny and scout miss jason and drew. Well, they’ll at least get to see, you know, their families at the quartermaines’. There’s a holiday movie for ya.

[ Chuckling ] Right, yes. Maybe a horror, I think. Well, you can’t forget the sequel. Dessert at the davises’. Are you sure you’re up for it? Yeah, of course I am. Your mom and I, we’re good. We made peace. As long as you’re up for what that means, because the minute we show up at our families’ houses over the holidays with our kids, together? It’s a big deal. Which doesn’t let you off the hook for letting him out of your eyesight or using austin’s genuine concern for leo against him. Dad, you know what that was about. Okay, I did it for the family. If you’re going to be mad at me for losing leo and sticking it to austin, then you can kiss your norman rockwell thanksgiving you’ve envisioned goodbye. [ Sighs ] I so don’t got this. Dr. Robinson’s hosting a thanksgiving dinner. We’re all going to be there, me and molly. Nurse baldwin and her kids, me and my daughter, violet, my — my brother, chase. I mean, it’s — it’s a good group. I’m sure you’d be welcome. Come. No one should be alone on thanksgiving, and my uncle curtis and I will have the game on, as well, so… that’s very thoughtful of you. What, are you holding out for a better offer? Excuse me, austin. Can I talk to you for a sec? Thank you for your invitation. No. You can’t talk to me. I’m not talking to you or anybody else in your family ever again. I think losing my reputation as the quirkiest doctor at G.H. I wasn’t aware that was your reputation. The benefit of them spending all this time at the quartermaines’ is that everything of value has probably already been broken or moved. You know, monica does like having a full house. I’m kind of glad that we didn’t tell her that drew was alive, because we would only have to tell her that drew is presumed dead, and I think that would really…hurt her. Mm. Came close, though. It would have been the ultimate gift to bring drew home for the holidays, not only for monica, but for scout, as well. I just hope that jason makes it home in time for christmas, for danny’s sake. I think he and britt will make it back in time. But if not, you know, rocco and I will come and, uh, decorate your tree with you. But then you guys got to come help us decorate ours and then do things like ice skating, which I’ll teach you how to do that, too, if you want. Okay. I-I am totally down for that. Okay. All the things that you were wondering about and ned was wondering about, it all made sense. And, um… I’m committed to getting my son all the support that he needs. Olivia, that’s great news. And he kept repeating the same phrase over and over about bailey in belarusian. So I entered that phrase into the translator, and it came out something about the “right seed.”

[ Sighs ] Now, I’ve been really impressed at how well you and valentin have co-parented your daughter. This whole family is. I mean, it’s really a sign of, you know, maturity on your part. So if you’ve hit a bump, it doesn’t mean it’s insurmountable. I mean, look at liv and me. Whatever’s going on, I want you to know that I’m here to help you if I can. You can’T. Valentin isn’t bailey’s father. Hey. I was hoping I’d find you here. Yeah, I just wanted to get caught up on some patient files. What about you? You working a case? Uh, no. No, I’m off today. [ Chuckles ] Look, about that. You’re still coming to dinner, right? Actually, no. Something’s come up. So, after i tracked down linc — the producer who was able to book that singer last-minute, right? Yeah. I found out he was working for someone else. The guy from the sketch? Oh, not organized crime. I honestly don’t know. But he came in here, and we talked. He was the one responsible for getting that artist here. Which is why he was so interested in asking questions about the savoy. But he was also interested in you, too. He was interested in both the club and me. Which is why he did you that huge favor? Apparently. But he also wanted a relationship.

[ Chuckling ] Why? Because he claimed he was my father. Oh, uh — I’m sorry, I thought you told me that your father passed when you were a child. That’s what I was told. That’s what I believed. And then this man, marshall — of course, that’s what he says his name is — comes in here, and he tells me otherwise. So, do you believe him? Hi, I’m debra. I’m from colorado. I’ve been married to my high school sweetheart for 35 years. I’m a mother of four– always busy. I was starting to feel a little foggy. Just didn’t feel like things were as sharp as I knew they once were. I heard about prevagen and then I started taking it about two years now. Started noticing things a little sharper, a little clearer. I feel like it’s kept me on my game. I’m able to remember things. I’d say give it a try.

that’s the last photohe took before he left. There’s a real resemblance between the man in this photo and the man who approached me and T.J. I showed him the sketch. You know, I got to admit, it brought up a lot of feelings that I didn’t know that I had about not having a father in my life. About how that pain and emptiness felt growing up, and I didn’t even realize it. About how his sudden disappearance all of a sudden made my life unpredictable, and I never processed that, much less talked about it until marshall was in here standing in front of me, telling me he was my father. You were only a child. You were 3 years old. You probably buried it. That’s exactly how trauma works. But it seems to me like you might actually believe it to be true. Well, you know what? It doesn’t matter, because, um, I don’t want a relationship with him either way. I told him that, and at least he had the decency to get the hell out of my life. Again. And, so, what? That’s just — that’s just the end of it? It better be. I’m wondering if that’s what you really want, or if you’re just trying to protect yourself. You were a detective. You were a cop. You have to have questions. Maybe there’s more to the story. Look, I hope you’re ready to be showered with approval, because my mother has been advocating for this for kind of a long time. Really? Yeah. I cannot believe I would actually get olivia’s approval. I’m — oh, yeah. You got it. You got it, big-time. Wow. That means a lot. I didn’t tell you. We should be together on thanksgiving, especially since dad and your mom can’t make it. And just to guilt you some more, violet will be very disappointed if you’re not there. I hate the thought of letting violet down. Maybe — maybe I can swing by after. After? After what? Like I said, something’s come up, something I can’t get out of. Well, if it’s not work, what’s so urgent? It’s personal. Like a date? No. Well, in a way — s-sort — sort of. Could you be any more vague? Okay. Alright. Not that we have feelings for each other. It was more casual. But, um, we’re friends, which is good. And you actually kind of like him, definitely more than you like valentin. That’s not a high bar. So, who is it, brook lynn? Who is bailey’s father? It’s chase.

Wait, what? When? How? No, no, I know how. Um… who’s the mother? Do you remember when willow and I broke up? Uh-huh. Brook lynn was on the outs with the q’s, and she moved in for a while. It was then. Brook lynn? Brook lynn quartermaine? Tracy’s granddaughter? She’s the mother, and — and she just didn’t tell you? Well, it’s complicated, but… uh-huh. Yeah, I just found out. Mm-hmm. Yeah, of course. About that, watch your back with them, alright? Not only do you have to deal with valentin and all his nonsense, but the quartermaines and all that that brings. You sure you’re prepared? Detective chase is bailey’s father. He was here all this time, and you two never said a word about it. Chase didn’t know. You never told him? No. And he never even suspected? I told him valentin was the father. But you knew he wasn’T. You kept the truth from chase because you wanted to use your child to get the elq shares back. Brook lynn. Daddy, it was my fault we lost control of elq. I had to do something. They were just shares! You kept that child from her real father. Oh, this is a mess! And you know what? I have no one to blame but myself, because I put too much pressure on you. And now look where we are. Chase has lost time with his daughter, and valentin has lost the child that he thought was his. Both of these men’s lives have been completely upended. I’m so sorry, dad. Listen to me. You can’t blame yourself. Okay? I take responsibility. I — I truly did what I thought I had to do.

[ Sighs ] Well, at least I still have my beautiful granddaughter. That won’t change. Alright. So just tell me. How did valentin react to the news? He was devastated and very angry. Uh-huh. Then he’s bound to fight back. I’m very happy to hear that you’ve come around and that you’re there for leo, ’cause that little boy deserves the best chance he can possibly get to have a great life. I agree, and I’m committed to getting that for him. I just wish I hadn’t thought the worst of you. And I realize now how lucky we all were that you spotted this and that you came forward. No parent wants to hear that their child is not neurotypical. There’s a pediatric neurologist here in the hospital. Just so great, and I’d be happy to make you an introduction. No, no, I already — I already made the appointment online. I don’t want to waste any more time. Okay. That’s great. I’m glad to hear it. Okay, well, I would like to make it up to you. Uh, maybe you could join us all for — for thanksgiving. There’s going to be plenty food and — no. So you don’t forgive me. I will never forgive a family for denying my father when he was alive and then again denying him after his death, and I’m never going to forgive brook lynn for trying to sabotage my medical career when all I was trying to do was simply get leo the help that he needs. It sounds like you didn’t have an easy childhood. But everything you went through, you showed love and compassion for danny anyway. And that just goes to show what kind of person you are. [ Sighs ] Your openness. Even though sonny is your father, you have managed to be able to be loyal to him and your job. Yeah, that isn’t easy. No doubt. But you still somehow make it work. When you go and — and run off, I know you’re not running off to start trouble. You’re running to stop it. That gives me peace. Yeah, peace. That’s what I — that’s what I call it, too. Curtis: That man, if he’s my father, he changed the course of my family’s lives when he disappeared. My mother became an invalid. And despite all that love and strength aimed at us, I still felt his loss, different than the other kids who — who mentioned their fathers, and some complained. And there’s always those kids who didn’t have a father that were part of a sad club. We were members of that club. I’m so sorry. And he allowed that to happen to his family. He stayed away for decades, and now he wants to — he wants to swoop back in like some conquering hero. He saves my nightclub for one night. What does he expect from me, that I’m gonna welcome him with open arms? “Gee, thanks, pop. Good to see you.” It’s not going to happen. I can see why you sent him away, and I hate that he brought up all of this for you. I hate that I was reminded of this, and I hate that it still eats away at me. Marshall did this to me, and I do not want him in my life. I wish he’d have never even come back, if he’s even my father. Have you checked him out yet? Yeah, I did a quick internet search. No marshall ashford matched his description. Well — well, we both know that you can dive deeper than just an internet search. Could. But you don’t want to.

I really don’t know what to do about marshall. I’ve been kind of, like… paralyzed since he dropped his big announcement, you know? My head’s been spinning with memories and realizations and, of course, questions. Well, have you reached out to your aunt stella? No, no, no, no. She’s still recuperating from her stroke. This is the kind of news that might be too much of a shock for her. But I will say this. Aunt stella would never lie about our father to tommy and me. Ever. valentin is hurtand angry, and who wouldn’t be? As for the q’s, I guess I just have to face the music and get through it. What else can I do?

[ Chuckles ] Good luck with all that. It’s gonna be one hell of a thanksgiving dinner. But, you know, at least you get to spend the day with your baby girl. Can’t believe I’m saying those words. I mean it. You’re going to be an amazing father, bro. I see how you are with violet, who adores you. Thanks for the vote of confidence. Like I said, I’ve known bailey for a while now. I have a little head start. You must have felt a connection to her all along, you know, something deep inside. Yeah, now that you mention it… totally. And, hey. When you feel the time’s right, let’s get violet and her new cousin together, okay? It’s amazing. One more thing to be happy for today. Look, I-I got to get going. Right. Hey, um, you know, good luck with the quartermaines. Although I guess it’s brook lynn that did you wrong. Right. I guess it’s hard to be angry when you have that baby girl in your life. Yeah. And what about the fact that chase had a thing for you and then married willow? And he never once suspected that he could be the father of bailey? Dad, if you remember, chase was nearly poisoned to death. He had bigger fish to fry. Are — dad, really, you cannot possibly blame this on chase. Oh, I can, and I do. It takes two to make a baby.

[ Sighs ] Maybe he — he didn’t know because he didn’t want to know. Maybe he was too busy chasing after willow to step up and be the father to that child, or too busy snooping around here doing austin’s bidding. You know, you say all these wonderful things about chase. Sorry. I’m not buying it.

Brook lynn honestly thought that you were using my son, and — and she was just trying to protect him, protect the family, that’s all. I said, I’m really glad that leo’s getting the help that he needs. That’s the only thing that’s important. I agree. But… austin, what’s done is done. Can you just let this thing with brook lynn — can you let it go? Yeah, I’ll try. Great. And… the offer still stands, if you change your mind. What’s with the long face? You know, sometimes the only way to turn a frown into a smile is the satisfaction of payback. Okay. I was going to try to convince you to join us, but perhaps alone in front of the television is the better alternative after all. Dad, you’re projecting your anger onto chase instead of me. Go ahead. Be mad at me. I’m used to it. I’m mad at both of you! What you did was reckless and thoughtless and selfish, and now you expect me to just sweep up the mess and act like nothing happened. Look, I know it’s thanksgiving, but don’t go all puritan on me. You’re not exactly a saint yourself. I’m not pretending to be, unlike your wonderful guy chase. For the last time, it’s not chase’s fault.

[ Doorbell rings ] Happy thanksgiving. I brought dessert. You are going through a lot right now. And I just want you to know that my home is open to you whenever you need me. I’ll be there. And if you change your mind about thanksgiving, I’ll be there with food.

[ Chuckles ] And a bunch of people who love and appreciate you. I can’t believe I tried to push you away. Talking to you is the best decision I could have made. I’m not sure if I will make it tonight. But I am sure that I am grateful for one portia robinson. I consider you among my blessings. Is there, uh, someplace we could talk privately? I’m not sure I want to do that. I don’t know who you are, and you were asking a lot of questions about me and my uncle. So whatever this is, I’m really not up for it. I’ve had a long night, and I have somewhere to be later. Listen, look, I don’t blame you for being suspicious of me.

I will do whatever it takes to be with my son. If he can’t come to me, then I will go to him. That’s not the problem. Sasha, in your current post-operative condition, you can’t visit the nicu right now. You need time to heal first. No. No, no. My baby needs his mother! Your baby needs his mother to be healthy and whole for what’s to come. Is that sasha’s room? Are she and brando in there? Give them a minute. They’re talking to sasha’s doctor. Sasha, I know it’s hard, but I strongly advise you to use this time to rest, gather your strength so when you’re cleared to visit your son, you’ll be prepared. “Prepared”? P-prepared for what, exactly? Hey. Thank you for calling me. How are sasha and the baby? Well, I asked at the nurses’ station. Sasha’s out of surgery, recovering in the icu. Oh, my god, I don’t understand. Last I heard, everything was fine. How did you hear that sasha and the baby had been rushed into surgery? It says in your chart your doctor wants you to spend one more night here for observation. I’m gonna take care of myself. I’m leaving, effective immediately. That would be an ill-advised decision, but, yes, it’s your choice. First, you’re gonna have to sign a form stating that you are leaving against medical advice. So give me the form. Fine. Wait here. I mean, ’cause babies — you know, they’re born with underdeveloped lungs all the time that need help. In this case, it’s not a question of lung capacity. During the placental abruption, your son was deprived of oxygen. And in some babies, this can result in hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy. What is that? It’s a condition that, depending on the severity, causes disabilities, brain damage, and, in some cases, death. Elizabeth: Those are worst-case scenarios. Yes. We don’t have all the answers yet. Dr. Fleming, the neonatologist, and the wonderful team in the nicu have started a very advanced treatment called hypothermia therapy, which cools the baby down and has been shown to give the brain an opportunity to slow brain-cell damage.

[ Crying ] You guys need to think positively. How can I think anything positive when my baby is hurting and it could be all my fault?

It’s my fault. I must have missed a sign or ignored a symptom. Sasha, you are not to blame. There is nothing you could have done to prevent what happened. Your placenta separated from your uterus, a completely involuntary medical condition. Yes, but I-I-I felt something, you know, a twinge or something. I definitely knew that I wasn’t comfortable, and I did not reach out to you. Sasha, hey, listen to the doctor. Okay? You could not know this was going to happen. I’m not gonna let you blame yourself. And most discomfort during pregnancy is harmless. Dr. Navarro: Nurse baldwin is correct. It’s possible what you felt earlier had nothing to do with the abruption. We need to focus on next steps — when the hypothermia treatment concludes. How long does that take?

[ Sighs ] It can take up to 72 hours.

[ Crying ] And once it’s done, dr. Fleming will order an eeg to determine brain function. You can visit the nicu now, and if you are stronger in the morning, I will authorize for you to be wheeled downstairs to see your son. I’ve got to go, but I will check in on you later. No, actually, she’s not. Okay, then I’m gonna go ahead and — uh, have you heard anything? I-I was just — I was just here waiting for any kind of news. W-what do you mean? What — what news? Sasha. She went into labor. I thought you knew. I went to see brando at — at gh. She was fine. What happened? Sasha had to have an emergency c-section. Text me when you get home. Bye. Is that bobbie? Uh, yeah, I was supposed to go christmas shopping with my mom. Hi. And, uh, well, my hard-working mother is dead on her feet, so I ordered a car service for her. Oh, that’s too bad. And while they’re taking care of him, we’re gonna take care of you. You can’t feel it because of the epidural, but you’re in the middle of an operation. I only care about our baby. [ Sighs ] I gotta go to the hospital. Yeah. Well, brando is in the O.R. With sasha, but, yeah, you should be there anyway, just in case he needs you. Yeah. You’re leaving town? Yeah, it’s just a business trip. You know, some things piled up in sydney that I have to deal with in person. Piled up? It’s not like you to put things off. Well, I didn’t want to leave while sonny was gone, you know, given how things escalated during his absence, and putting our daughter at risk — no, josslyn was fine. She wasn’t in any danger. No, she was in danger of losing her mother to a bullet from cyrus renault. Okay, so, um, now that sonny’s back, you feel that it’s safe for you to leave josslyn and go? Do I feel it’s safe? No. No, I think — I think it’s safer. At least I hope so. I mean, you’ve — you’ve stepped back from the organization, right? You and jason are no longer a — a thing. I mean, business partners. I mean, I know that jason will always be front and center in your life.

[ Rock crumbling ]

You have proof that you’re bailey’s father? I do. And for what it’s worth, I am so sorry, valentin. Brook lynn lied to both of us. All I can say is I did what I had to. I never meant to hurt you. How could you possibly think that this wouldn’t hurt me? When you were with willow, you said you didn’t want kids. That was forever ago. And that’s when you were with willow, who you loved. You don’t love me. You don’t want to have a baby with me, especially not after one night of fun when I was crashing with you. You lied to chase for the same reason you lied to me — because you wanted to prove yourself to your father by delivering the elq shares back to your family. I didn’t lie for myself, okay? I never meant to hurt anybody. For once in my stupid life, I was just trying to do the right thing! Brando? Hey, is sasha out of surgery? What’s wrong?

[ Crying ] I don’t know.

[ Sobs ] We have a son. And, um — and something went wrong and he didn’t cry and they took him away and sasha passed out, and, maxie, I might lose them both. Oh, my god. Hey. I thought you left. Yeah, well, you know, you said that, uh, brando’s in the O.R., Right? And maxie’s gonna text you after the surgery’s done. And sasha’s young and healthy, so we just gotta — we just gotta hope for the best. Yeah, it’s — it’s everything I can do just not to go to the hospital and hover over her like a mothe– well, then, it’s — it’s really not my place. You still think of her as a daughter, don’t you? Well, valentin hired her to pretend to be my daughter. You would think that I would want nothing to do with her, and for a while I didn’T. In my head, I remember everything that she put me through. But my heart… sometimes forgets. Yeah. Hearts tend to do that.

[ Breathing heavily ] Robert: Freeze! Go on. Go for the gun. I’ll use any excuse I can find to shoot you.

I mean, that kind of lie… well, sasha may have claimed to be someone she wasn’t at first, but the relationship that followed, the bond, the mother-and-daughter love — that was real. Right. And she truly came to care about me. She was just — she was just caught in a lie. She could have spoken up, just told the truth. We always say that, don’t we, sonny? I know I have. “All you had to do was tell the truth.” All, um, valentin and sasha had to do was to say, “hey, nina, sasha’s not your real daughter.” All jax and carly had to say was, “hey, nina, nelle is your daughter, and I’m so sorry for your loss.” See, when you’re the one being deceived, it’s easy to point your finger at your deceivers and hold them accountable and think that they’re so evil, but when you’re the one lying, especially when you’re lying to someone that you really love… hey. I’m really, really sorry that I lied to you. Then why did you keep doing it? Sonny, why does anyone lie to — to anybody about anything? It’s because they have too much to lose by telling the truth. What did you have to lose? ‘Cause you knew the truth was gonna come out sooner or later. I…I… all I know is that I was in so much pain and you just showed up out of nowhere — mike. And you were kinder to me than anyone has ever been in my entire life. And I wasn’t strong enough to give that up. Brando, listen to me. Sasha is strong, and she’s — she’s healthy overall. She’s also got dr. Navarro, who is the best. She and your baby are gonna be fine. They said that — they said my little boy couldn’t breathe. Okay, babies are resilient. Look at james. [Voice breaking ] And then it hit me like a tidal wave. I remember that feeling well. Just, like, one glance at him, and I loved him more than I thought it was possible to love anybody. I mean, from now on, it’s all about making sure that child is happy and safe and healthy. You’ll do anything to protect that child, no matter the cost. Where are jason and britt? He came in through the wine cellar. So there’s an escape tunnel down there? Well, not anymore. It’s all rubble now. You want to know what britt and jason are? They’re underneath what’s left of those tunnels. Jason! Jason! We have to help. Britta, stop. Chances are you have a concussion. You need to stay still.

[ Grunts ] Jason was right there. We have to help him. How? There are several tons of rock in the way. The rest of this tunnel could come down on us any minute. Let me get you out of here. Herr cain, come. We must move. No! Not without my brother.

Are you okay? Valentin really didn’t pull any punches. Yeah, neither did you. I’m sorry for unloading on you, but I didn’t want him to think that — thank you. Wow.

[ Sighs ] Hug like that, and I’ll be terrible to you more often. No one — and I mean no one — can find out who bailey’s real father is. I understand. ‘Cause her real father is peter august, her mother is maxie, and bailey is really louise. Something warm on a cold night. And even though it’s perfectly toasty in here, your body still knows what time of year it is. It’ll ground you. Thanks. So, are you and sasha going to move in together? Yeah, we’ve been talking about it. Just talking? Are you not sure about your feelings for sasha? No, I’ve never been more sure about anything. Sasha changed my life. [ Cellphone rings ] Yeah. Anna, if that’s maxie — it’s not. Hello. Yeah, I can’t talk right now, but, um, I do want to tell you that we have peter in custody. Oh, that’s great. That’s great. Yeah, isn’t it? God, at long last.

Is everything okay? Yeah, everything’s fine.

[ Voice breaking ] I just called to check in. Um, I’m gonna let you go, okay? Valentin, are you all right? I will be. I’ll be home soon. So we can talk then, yeah? Not soon enough. Anna, do me a favor. Don’t turn your back on peter. I won’T. Take care. Be safe. I’m gonna go down to the wine cellar and see if the agents have located any survivors that peter says aren’t there. Yeah, not everything’s nina’s fault. Oh, it is where you’re concerned. You got so caught up in nina’s drama that you ignored your own life. Yeah, she took it too far and she knows it, okay? How’s sasha? Out of danger. Uh, dr. Navarro was able to stop the hemorrhage. Now she — she’s weak because she’s lost a lot of blood, but she is stable. I told you she was gonna be okay. Can I see her? Soon. We need to transfer her to the icu so we can monitor her. And my son? How is he? The neonatologist, dr. Fleming, is downstairs in the nicu with him now. How long have you known? I just found out. How? You know what? Don’t tell me. Not here. I cannot risk anyone else being able to follow the breadcrumbs that led you here. I don’t think anyone did, but, sure, we can go over it. Great. Great.

[ Breathes deeply ] I’m actually, pretty relieved that you know. Who else knows? Um, maxie and nina. That’s it? Better be. I mean, gladys knows that valentin isn’t really bailey’s father, but that’s all she knows. Look, I really wanted to tell you. I came close, but maxie and I agreed that the fewer people to know, the safer bailey is. Why’d you want to tell me? Because you’re, like, one out of two and a half people in the entire world that I trust. Am I the half? Of course not. Look, I get why you kept it under wraps, but I really wish you would have told me. Peter was poisoning you, and you had a lot of other things going on at the time. With willow. I didn’t want to say it, but, yeah, you had other things on your mind. But I got better. Yeah, and things got a hell of a lot worse. We did not intend for this lie to go on for so long. We thought that peter would be caught months ago and locked away and that maxie could claim bailey as her own. How did you think valentin would react? I was hoping that once he found out peter was involved that he’d understand why we had to do what we did. He might still think that way. Think? Yes. Feel? Who even knew that valentin cassadine had feelings? Turns out there’s a pretty decent and loving father in there. Ugh, I hate the fact that I hurt him. The guy lost his daughter today. I can’t imagine what he’s going through. It’s not saying that you were wrong to walk away from me, but what I had with y-you — okay, listen to me, okay? What we had in nixon falls was not love. It was a lie. I know that’s how you feel. And you’re probably right. But it was close enough for me. Oh, gosh, can you believe that still don’t know anything, you know? [ Groans, panting ] I like the sound of that. Me, too. Mm-hmm.

[ Groans, inhales sharply ]

[ Exhales sharply ] Dr. Navarro, I’ve been trying to track you down. Talk to me. It’s sasha gilmore. I’ve been keeping an eye on her vitals and the baby’s, but I’m worried something is seriously wrong.

[ Grunting ] Willow. Willow. Willow. Hey.

[ Panting ] Michael! Hi. I was just… working out. Yeah, you were. I just — I’ve never seen you hit the heavy bag before. Yeah, this was my…first time. I didn’t know what I was missing. Punching things can be fun. [ Grunts ] Brook lynn: And as my, um, due date got closer, the more unsure I got. And I knew I couldn’t back out of the deal, but I just — I couldn’t share the birth with valentin. It was just too intimate. I would be too vulnerable. So I told everyone I was going to brooklyn. My friend cece helped me cover, and I-I got a room in a hotel. In ithaca. Why a hotel and not a hospital? I couldn’t risk valentin being able to track me down, so I had the doula meet me in the hotel, and I ended up giving birth that night. Story doesn’t add up. What are you hiding, brook lynn? If it was me — if it was just me, fine. We could keep things the way they are, but there are two other people we have to think about… please, valentin — …charlotte and bailey. And for them, I need to know. Bailey’s isn’t mine, is she? This is so much more complicated than you think. The hell it is. You just need to look in my eyes and tell me that bailey is my daughter. Spinelli gave me the layout of the island, but it’s a satellite view and I know that the tunnels exist, but… but as far as which one is which… I have no idea where peter went.

They used this one. How do you know? Look, you may be an expert hitman, but I got a little experience tracking people. The department of the navy made sure of that. My contribution to this adventure. I mean, gladys doesn’t know everything. She doesn’t know that bailey is really louise. Yeah, that’s right. The crucial information is contained. Ok, so this could be a good thing, right? I mean, you were the one that tried to convince me to pull valentin in on the secret. You said he could actually be an ally. I did, but maxie — I know it’s going to be a huge blow, finding out that bailey is not really his. Monumental. But maybe after he processes it a-and realizes that brook lynn and i only did this to protect louise from peter, he’ll — he’ll want to help me. He’ll understand. Wouldn’t that be great? That would be great, but I’m afraid it’s highly unlikely. There isn’t anything to understand, carly. We — there’s been so much pain in the last year with our family as it is. I know, but the pain isn’t gonna go away as long as nina has a relationship with wiley. And clearly, she’s gonna stake her claim as his grandmother. So accidental or not, this just proves that michael was right to push to have the charges against nina in pennsylvania. Yeah, but if he would asked me, I would have said to him, he’s just making things more complicated. Ok, um… I don’t get it. This isn’t you. The one thing we have always agreed on is that if someone comes at us, we’re gonna come back twice as hard to make sure nobody comes at us ever again. And I’m not talking about sending a message here. I’m talking about justice, sonny. Why would you deny yourself or your family that kind of justice after what nina did to you? Because if we destroy nina… I would be… denying who I’ve become.

[ Breathing shakily ] There you go. Just breathe.

[ Whimpers ] Breathe. You’re doing great, babe. There you go. Hello, everyone. Just breathe. I hear things are progressing in here? Yeah, it looks like it. Ugh, feels like it, too.

[ Inhales sharply ]

[ Monitor beeping ]

[ Groans ] Ok. I’d like to run some tests and do a quick ultrasound to see how things are going. Tests? Is everything ok? That’s what we want to confirm. W-whatever you think is best. Great. You’ll get her prepped? Elizabeth: Yes. It’s ok.

[ Groans ]

[ Whimpers ]

Hold up. Wait, wait. Hold up. They s topped hereand may have, uh — looks like they stood around for a little bit and then kept going. And there is another man, because there’s extra boot prints. Peter picked up a guard to help him. Well, we got another problem. This tunnel is in a really bad shape. Yeah, I noticed. Loud noises like, say, gunfire is gonna up the chances of a total collapse. So we have to take peter and the guard hand-to-hand. Ok, what if — what if it’s not hand-to-hand? Well, every gunshot is just gonna… make this place more unstable. So, uh, what brought on the sudden urge to go to town on the heavy bag like that? I thought you were taking wiley to the fall fair in rice plaza. I did take him. That’s what brought on this sudden desire for a workout. Ok?

[ Sighs ] Nina was there. Did she approach you? Wiley made the first move. He saw her, he wanted to go to her, and… I let him. Go ahead. Tell me how much you hate that. Well, I hate the idea of nina being anywhere near our son, but, uh… I wasn’t there, so… thank you. But I-I — I tried to keep it low key. Wiley and I had a hot chocolate with nina, then I sent him off to be with cindy. Cindy — he knows her from day care at the hospital. And when nina and i were alone, I told her that…

[ Sighs ] I hate what she did, and I don’t think she should see wiley for the time being, but that I wasn’t going to confuse wiley by dragging him away from her — you know, punish him for her bad choices. And how’d — how did she take that?

[ Sighs ] She was… appropriately remorseful. Now, at the same time, I don’t think nina even begins to grasp just how selfish and horrible she was or how much damage she’s done.

[ Sighs ] Anyway, cindy brought wiley back. All I wanted to do was take him home, and just as we were saying our goodbyes, your mom showed up and…

[Inhales deeply ] Jumped to the wrong conclusion. How wrong? Carly was gonna call the cops on nina for stalking wiley. Well, go mom. Michael! They — look — ok, I-I know, I know, it would have just made a bad situation even worse. It’s just that — I mean, I could — I could still enjoy the fantasy, can’t I? Sure. Yeah, you can enjoy it. You weren’t the one standing in the middle of rice plaza trying to stop your mom from having nina dragged away in handcuffs in front of wiley. Ugh! I need more time on the heavy bag. No, actually, uh… I have a better idea.

[ Monitor beeping ] Dr. Navarro: Ok. Looks like it’s time to get moving. Have the or prepped right away. Got it. Or?! What’s going on? Is something wrong with the baby? Sasha, we need to prep you for an emergency c-section. What?! No, no, I’m fine to continue to labor, I —

[ Yells ] I know this wasn’t your plan, and under normal circumstances, we’d do everything we could to avoid surgery, but you’re suffering from a placental abruption and the baby needs to come out now. Ms. Spencer! Oh. It’s good to see you again. Thank you. Uh, y-you know, forgive me for making a beeline for the coffee, but I’m headed to rice plaza and I just came off a double shift at gh. Where — oh, and everyone was raving about your wife, by the way. I think you mean my ex-wife.

[ Gasps ] Oh! And that’s why I need caffeine. I am so sorry. Don’t be.

[ Sighs ] Clearly, my mind isn’t as sharp after a long day. No, it’s ok. Really. Thank you. You know, just for the record, I love the way willow makes michael happy, but I hate the way you got hurt in the process. You’re a good man, detective chase. And you have been a particularly good friend to maxie and lulu. I hope that coffee works its magic. Me, too.

[ Cellphone chimes ] Can I get a large coffee to go? Beechers corners? What was she doing there? Oh! Hey, I don’t know who you’re referring to, but beechers corners happens to be a lovely place. You’ve been? Yeah, right before memorial day. I know you’re upset. You have every right to be. Don’t! Don’t tell me how I can feel. But you have to understand, this was never my intention. I don’t care about your intentions. This is where we are now. When I think about the sleepless nights, the stories, the shared moments — that was all real. How? How is it real?! Because it happened. You’re not who I thought you were. I don’t even know what you are. You watched as I bonded with this child. My 12-year-old daughter thinks she has a sister, and for what?! Some stock! The brook lynn I thought I knew would never have done that. She didn’T.

I’m not tryingto burst your bubble. You were the one who advocated for me to tell valentin the truth. I did. I did. But if you told him back then, months ago, when I told you that, then I am sure valentin would have been supportive. Not only would he have kept that secret, but he would have made sure that it was airtight. But maxie! You and brook lynn made valentin fall in love with that baby.

[ Telephones ringing in distance ]

[ Sighs ] What? Just like I made sonny fall in love with me. Ok. Not ideal or advised, but when it comes to the truth, isn’t it, like, better late than never? That’s what people say, right? Tell the truth. But I learned the hard way, they’re only talking about the immediate truth. Hidden truths become secret, and those only leave pain and chaos in their wake.

[ Sighs ] I want to understand what’s going on with you, but you’re gonna have to walk me through it. Ok, how can nina facing justice for what she did to our family be denying who you’ve become?

[ Sighs ] Carly… I was gone for 9 months. I know. And… [ Sighs ] You know, at that time, I was — I was living another life. We both were. And I can’t just believe that it — it’s just gonna go back to normal and nothing, you know, has changed. I —

[ Sighs ] It’s hard for me, you know what I mean? Yes, but things — things have gone back to normal. We are the same people that we were. I mean, we’re the same couple. I — I — I — for the better part of the year, I was — I was another person. Ok? And that — that time doesn’t just vanish from my mind. In nixon falls, I didn’t know about sonny corinthos, but here I know that I was “mike,” and he’s still part of me. And for 9 months, what kept me alive, centered, and safe was the friendships that I had with… with lenny, phyllis, and nina. And I just can’t change the fact that… for just, you know — up until a couple of weeks ago, nina was…

[Voice breaking] T-the one friend that I had in the whole world. You spent time in beechers corners last may. Was it a vacation? N– no — uh, well —

[ Sighs ] You know, I suppose there’s no reason to be keeping it a secret at this point. I was supposed to meet maxie there. Like a final hurrah before the baby was born? No, not exactly. Um… maxie had figured out the truth about peter, but she knew if she tried to end the relationship, there would be… issues. That’s putting it mildly. Yeah. So she asked me there in a professional capacity. As a nurse? Yeah. The plan was for me to deliver maxie’s baby in secret. You know, this took me by surprise, too. Don’t you compare our experiences. They are nothing alike. I know! I’m just — I’m trying to explain myself. Can I do that? Please? It started out with like, “oops, I’m pregnant, and valentin thinks he’s the father.” You led me to believe I was the father. So I did something I’m not proud of. Ok? I used the situation to my advantage so that I could get

elq back. But I was clueless. I had no idea how you’d be as a father, I — I had no idea how you’d be as a partner. I thought that you’d just give me child support and leave. Which, by the way, if you’d accepted, would have been fraud. But go ahead. Do you remember moving in? Do I remember moving in to the quartermaine mansion?! I mean me. How opposed to it I was. Why do you think that is? What started out as a stupid means to an end turned into you and your daughter moving into my home

[Crying] With my family — our family, the four of us, and I was like, “what am I doing?” But it was just — it was too late. And then gladys found out the truth and she started blackmailing me, and I-I had to let her. I had no choice. I never intended to hurt you. Congratulations. This is new. I don’t suppose you know where we are. Oh, for the millionth time, stop talking! Or I will kill one of you! Ok, on that note, will you please stop antagonizing him? I’m not antagonizing him. I’m telling him the truth. This whole place could come crumbling down at any time, and this dummkopf is leading us nowhere. Britta was right. We must turn back. No! We’re not going back. We’re getting the hell out of here. We’re going to the harbor and we’re getting on a boat. And then we’re going to the rendezvous point, where drew will be bringing maxie to me and I will be getting everything I want! Drew: Yeah, that is not gonna happen. What is placental — abruption. It means the placenta is separating from the uterus. Sasha: When?! I’m guessing right before your water broke. Wait, wait, wait! The — the placenta is how the baby eats and gets oxygen. Yes, that’s why we need to do a c-section. Is — is our son ok? We’re doing everything in our power to make sure of that. We can give you an epidural, but you will be conscious. Just take care of the baby. The plan is to take care of both of you.

[ Sighs ] Which or? Elizabeth: Four. Let’s go. You made a real point about saying “both of you.” Is sasha in danger, too?

Doctor, hey, level with me. Is sasha’s life at risk, too? It’s too early to say, but obstetrical hemorrhage is a very real complication from placental abruption, which is why we can’t waste any time. Well, maybe it would help if I went with you. As in “valentin might go easier on me”? Well, he won’t kill you ’cause there’s a witness.

[ Chuckles ] It’s possible.

[ Sasha groaning, stretcher rolling ] Brando, hey. What’s wrong? Is sasha ok? No. Sasha could lose the baby, and I could lose them both. What the hell are you doing here? I’m taking britt and her mom off this island, and if I kill you in the process, that — that’s just a bonus.

[ Gunshot ]

[ Screaming ]

[ Gunfire ] How you wanna handle this guy? Whatever peter’s paying you, is it worth dying for him? I don’t think so. Go, get out! You guys ok? We are now.

[ Clears throat ] That was my perfectly normal response to the fact that you’re not dead. Where — where’s peter? I hate being stuck in the middle. It’d be so much easier if nina just moved far away, like new zealand or… at least california. Prison works. Even if nina goes to prison, she will still have legal rights as wiley’s grandmother. Well, it’d be hard to exercise those rights if she’s in prison. Uh, nina has money and lawyers, and if she lands in prison, she will have nothing but time. Think about it, michael. Do you really want to take wiley to go see nina in some prison visiting room? No, of course not.

[ Sighs ]

[ Sighs ] The fact is, nina is wiley’s grandmother, and she will always have those ties to him unless she chooses to sever those ties. And an all-out visitation war over wiley can only hurt him. [ Sighs ] Maxie didn’t want to have her baby in the hospital? Well, it wasn’t so much about the venue. Because of peter. Yeah, well, peter was watching her like a hawk at the time. My guess is she wanted to keep her options open. Your guess? Look, all maxie told me was she was determined not to let peter raise her baby. So whether that meant going on the run or putting louise up for adoption… best laid plans, right? I mean, all that strategizing to try and keep peter away from her baby and now maxie has no idea where she is. It’s good to see you. I gotta go.

And then just like that, she flips the script. She flips the script and then she goes from being a-a borderline psycho, liar — someone w-who kept my dad a virtual prisoner for 9 months to —

[ Sighs ] I miss what I love. And what I love is standing in front of me. I’m trying to act brave for sasha, but I am terrified. Of course you are. What if something happens? What if they can’t get to him in time? What if something — what if she doesn’t — no, stop. You cannot think like that. Maxie’s right. Sasha is incredibly resilient. And so are you. You know what that means? Your baby is a badass, too. Did you find baby names yet? Well, you know what? Badass corbin has a really nice ring to it. Is it so awkward because of what happened between you and jason? No, no. We…talked about that. We’re all on the same page. This has nothing to do with jason. We should just focus on that, and just be here now, and not worry about everything else. Or at least until the next time nina comes calling? Ugh! What if she shows up on thanksgiving? [ Sighs ] Well, what if — what if wiley’s not home? I me, what if — what if he’s in new york city with us. We’re going to new york city? We could. You ever been to the thanksgiving day parade? Not in person. Well, this could be the year, yeah? You, me, and wiley, we can — we can go to the parade, rockefeller center, and central park. We could go see a show. Yeah, we could see a show. Any — any show that you want. Your pick. Are we really doing this? Yeah, let’s — let’s just get away from this — this miserable situation, you know, and just… have an amazing thanksgiving weekend. [ Laughs ] Well, if that is true, then it is in large part because of you. It may not have been real… but you showed me what it looked like to be a kind and loving mother. And even after you knew what I had done, when you should have despised me, you still showed me compassion. Hey, uh, is phyllis around? She stepped out, but she should be back soon. Oh, ok. Thanks.

[ Monitor beeping ] Brando! Hey, I’m right here. How you feeling?

[ Groans ] Numb. You know, you’re the bravest person I’ve ever met.

[ Laughs weakly ] This is it. What does that mean? It’s time for your baby to be born. Sasha, here we go. You may feel some pressure. You got this.

[ Laughs ] I’m not doing anything. You know what I mean.

[ Laughs ] He’s here! Oh, my god! That’s our — that’s our son! That’s our son. Can I hold him? What’s happening? Hey, what’s wrong with our baby? What’s wrong with our baby?!

[ Breathing heavily ]

[ Crying ] Am I a screw-up?

[ Crying ] Yeah. Am I short-sighted and selfish? 100%. But there’s a legitimate reason why I couldn’t tell you the truth.

[ Knock on door, door opens ] Well, now, detective chase, just in time. What for? The latest bombshell. It turns out brook lynn’s been lying to me. I’m not bailey’s father after all. Yes, I’m aware. You told him? No, never. I-I didn’t tell anyone. I know you’re not bailey’s father… because I am.
