smarter than this. You have to see that if you don’t cut sheila out of your life immediately, you will lose steffy and your children forever.

Douglas: How do you draw like this?

Thomas: Uh, that’s a great question. I’m not sure actually. I can tell you that your mom has, don’t tell her this, been always my biggest source of inspiration.A@

Douglas: Wouldn’t it be fun if you and mom could take beth and me to the beach soon? We could have a picnic. Watch the sunset.

Thomas: Yeah. Yeah, that’d be great. That’d be a lot of fun.

Douglas: Mom’s the happiest when family’s together.

Thomas: Yeah. Hey, look, you know, your mom and I, we love you very, very much alwaywanna spend time together, all three of us, right? But sometimes we don’t always get what we want, you know, and we have to– we have to be patient, can’t push things. I mean, mom is going through a lot right now. So let’s just wait, relax, and see how things turn out. Okay?

Hope: Dad?

Deacon: You better go hide. Just a second, honey. Go, go, go. Hey.

Hope: Uh, hi. What took so long?

Li: Oh, sheila. Sheila. Sheila. I am so sick of hearing about that woman. She’s inflicted too much heartache and pain. She needs to be stopped. And you’re the only one who can get through to her and end her madness. Lean cuisine.

Thomas: Let’s get you drawing, huh? Here’s a pencil.

Douglas: Oh I can’t right now. I’ve gotta go actually.

Thomas: Okay, big man on campus. You got some plans? What’s going on?

Douglas: Well, I’m grabbing a ride with aunt donna. We’re gonna hang out before she drops me off at mom’S.

Thomas: Oh, okay. Uh, no worries. But– but just say, before you go, everything’s gonna be all right, your mom and I, we love you very much and that’s never gonna change. And if your mom and I are meant to be together, everything’s gonna fall into place. Okay?

Douglas: I love you too, dad. And I agree. I believe our family will fall right into place.

Finn: I will do anything for my family, mom. Sheila won’t ruin it for me. I promise you that.

Li: I want to believe you. I’ve always had faith in you. My beautiful, brilliant son.

[ Li chuckles ] But I can see that she has a hold on you. You must break that hold. I am not leaving until you tell me sheila is going to be out of our lives once and for all. I need to see that you know what needs to be done.

Hope: What’s going on, dad? You seem a little bit distracted.

Deacon: No, I was gonna, uh, jump in the shower. What are you doing here? Why did you come over? I mean– I mean, I’m always happy when you come over. I just– sit down.

Hope: Oh, okay. Oh, well, um, it’s been a minute and I just wanted to check in on you and besides, beth and douglas are missing their mermaid grandpa.

Deacon: Ah, that’s merman.

Hope: Oh, I’m sorry. Well, we would like to have the merman over for dinner sometime soon, so.

Deacon: I would love that. I– I would really love that. Thank you. Um, I miss them and– and– and I miss you, too. Just been thinking about you a lot lately. I’ve been a little worried.

Hope: You’re worried about me?

Deacon: Yeah, I mean, hope, you’re my daughter. I– I know I haven’t always been around as your father but, you know, your– your marriage is ending and it’s– it’s gotta hurt. Liam’s been a big part of your life.

Hope: And he still will be. He’s an amazing father and i have no doubt that we are going to co-parent well together.

Deacon: Just sounds kind of sterile.

[ Hope chuckles ]

Hope: Well, it’s not what I wanted for myself. But you have to take what life throws at you, right? And besides, you know, things– things happen and, um, I’ll be fine. I can take care of myself.

Deacon: Well, you don’t have to, you know that? I mean, look, honey, I get it. I get that you’re strong and you’re independent and I suppose that probably comes from not having your father around. But I’m here now. I want you to know you’re not alone. You come here any time you want. I’m here for you. No one and nothing is gonna interfere with our relationship. You hear me?

Hope: I hear you.

[ Cell phone chimes ]

Hope: Let me just check, it might be work.

Deacon: Yeah.

Hope: Oh, um, okay. I– I know that I said I wanted to hang out but I– I think this is important. I– I think everything’s okay. I just– I think I need to take care of this, dad. I’m so sorry. I know I just got here.

Deacon: No, it’s okay. It’s okay. I’m just glad I got a chance to see you. Let’s catch up soon, okay? And that dinner, I would love that and I love you.

Hope: I love you, too.

D

Hope: All right. See you soon, okay?

Deacon: Yep. That was close. That was too damn close. Sheila, we can’t do this anymore. (Vo) when it comes to nature valley’s classic crunchy bar,

Li: I’m so blessed to have you as my son. You’re the greatest joy of my life. But it’s still so upsetting that your father’s affair brought that psychopath into our lives.

Finn: I feel– I feel guilty.

Li: Never. No, you are innont you always have been, even now. It’s only natural to want to know where you came from. This is your father’s doing. He let sheila turn our lives upside down by betraying me. Your family is torn apart. Your wife and children are halfway across the world to stay away from that monster.

Finn: Yeah. I’m gonna fix this. I will not let you or steffy down. And I will not allow sheila to keep me away from my wife and my kids any longer.

Sheila: Okay. Deacon, come on. Take a deep breath. She didn’t see us. Nothing happened.

Deacon: Nothing happened? Sheila, we were seconds away from getting caught. Thank god that door was locked. If she– if had seen us together–

Sheila: No, but she didn’t see us together. It’s okay, she has no idea.

Deacon: But if she saw us together, that’d be it for me and my daughter. She’d have nothing to do with me. I mean, this– this doesn’t make sense at this point. I’m just playing with fire.

[ Sheila chuckles ]

Sheila: So what– what exactly are you saying?

Deacon: You know how I feel about you… but I can’t lose hope. Whatever we’re doing, it ends, today.

Hope: Um, hi.

Thomas: Hi.

Hope: I got your message.

Thomas: I didn’t text you.

Hope: Yes, you did.

Thomas: No, you– you texted me.

Hope: No– no, I didn’T.

Both: Douglas.

Douglas: Oh, hey, guys.

[ Hope laughs ]

[ Thomas clears throat ] We used to struggle with greasy messes.

Thomas: Okay, so let me get this straight. You texted me as your mom.

Hope: And you texted me as your dad.

Douglas: Pretty easy, actually.

Hope: Oh, okay, well, you seem to pull this all together pretty quickly.

Thomas: Well, I mean, that kind of makes sense. He is a forrester. Forresters know how to set a very romantic scene, don’t they? Isn’t that right?

Douglas: Yeah. You know it. Dad told me that things would fall into place with our family. I just wanted to help things fall into place a little bit faster.

Thomas: Right. When I said that, I meant to be patient, right? And not expect anything too soon or at all.

Douglas: I love you both so much, you’re the best mom I know. And you’re the best dad I know. But together, well, you make each other better, ’cause that’s what family does. Right?

Finn: I swear to you, mom, my family is the most important thing to me, and it is killing me that my wife and kids are so far away.

Li: It’s because of sheila. Steffy loves you, she wants to come home, I know that.

Finn: You need to understand though, mom, I am barely functioning here. I mean, I can’t sleep, my heart aches, I love steffy. Okay? I love her. She needs to be home with me, where she belongs. This place, it’s just– it is so lonely without them. I need them back.

Li: I believe you can do it. Yes, you’re the only one that can get through to that woman.

Finn: I haven’t, um– I haven’t said this to anyone before, ’cause I’m kind of at a loss. But what happens, like– what if she won’t let go?

[ Tense instrumental ]

Li: You listen to me, your mother. I remember when you would have a science problem that would be hard to solve. Or a math theorem. You would go around and around, look at– looking at it from every angle, looking for that weak spot where you can just dig into, and expand. That’s what you’ll do. You’re going to think outside of the box like you always have, and then you’ll find the answer.

Finn: You’re right. You’re absolutely right. I have to. I don’t know how I’m gonna make that happen, but I’m gonna figure it out. I’m not gonna risk losing my family.

Sheila: So, this is it, huh? It’s– it’s over?

Deacon: God, this is– this is hard. There’s a part of me– there’s a big part of me that doesn’t want to let you walk out that door. I just love being with you. And you’re not like anyone I’ve ever met before. You’re unique and mesmerizing and… deliciously dangerous. But sheila, for the first time in my life, I feel like I’m making something of myself. When I look in the mirror, I don’t see some loser staring back at me. And the restaurant’s rocking and rolling, and hope, she– she respects me. My daughter– my daughter loves me. You can’t know what that–

Sheila: No, I– I do know.

Deacon: Yeah. Yeah, I guess you do. I– I can’t– I can’t mess this up, and I can’t let it go. You know, she wants to be with me, when she looks at me, it’s like– it’s like the greatest feeling in the world, you heard her. She– she wants to be with me. She wants to have dinner with me. The grandkids wanna see me. Why would I take a chance on losing that?

Sheila: You can’T. You can’t risk it. I want to be with you too. I– I don’t want this to end, but I am so grateful for every moment I got to spend with you. Everything that you did for me. You’re incredible. And I– I don’t just mean in bed. [ Chuckles ] You’ve really shown me that it is possible to change. I mean, to earn a spot in your friends’ and family’s lives. And I– I and I can only hope that– that that really might happen for me. It’s what I want with finn. And I– I can make that happen. I know I can, but– but even so, I– I’m so proud of you… and everything that you have accomplished, I just– I want you to have it all.

Deacon: I want you to have it too, sheila.

Sheila: Thank you. Thank you. I think I will. I see what you share with your daughter, and I– I hope that I have that with my son, it’s what I really want with my son, and I can make that happen. I know that I can, I– I see what you’ve done with hope. What you’ve accomplished. I hope I might make finn see me the way that she sees you.

[ Laughs ] It– it sounds so crazy.

Deacon: No, hey, we don’t– we don’t like that word, remember?

Sheila: Yeah. You know what? Yeah, you’re right. You’re– you’re right, we don’T. But you’ve given me faith, deacon. You’ve given me faith that this can happen. I know I can make it happen. You will be with your daughter and grandchildren. And I will be with finn and hayes.

[ Sheila laughs ]

Li: Listen to me. There is nothing more important for you to understand. Stay focused, you cannot give in to sheila ever again.

Sheila: I have never been more determined about anything in my life. And you know me, when I put my mind to something I make it happen. And seeing you, your relationship with hope, it is– it has truly inspired me. I am going to have the relationship with finn that I’ve longed for. I can just– I can just feel it.

[ Sheila laughs ]

[ Ominous instrumental ]

[ Relaxing music ]

Douglas: I hate seeing you so sad, mom. If you could find a way to give dad another chance, I know we would make a happy family.

Hope: Sweetheart…

Finn: Come on in. Um, you want something to drink?

Li: Oh, no. I’m good, thanks.

Finn: So, um, what brings you by?

Li: What, I can’t come and check on my son?

Finn: No, of course you can. Thanks, it’s, um– it’s good to see you. This– this house has been pretty quiet.

Li: Have you talked to steffy?

Finn: Yeah. Yeah, of course. She’s my wife, I talk to the kids and her as much as possible. I just– I miss ’em so much, it hurts, you know.

Li: Well, to think this is all because of sheila.

Deacon: I’m so, so sorry. We can’t do this.

Sheila: You know what? Your words are saying that, but your body is saying something different.

Deacon: No, no, no, no. Sheila, no. Come on. This is– this is wrong. I gotta–

Sheila: What? Be a good boy?

Deacon: Yes!

Sheila: That’s too bad because I like you so much better when you’re naughty.

Li: How does steffy seem when you talk to her?

Finn: I don’t know. Um… I mean, I wouldn’t– I wouldn’t say distant, but it’s a little tough to gauge. It’s also difficult to have a real conversation when the kids are on the call.

Li: Then you must make time for just you and steffy. You can’t get complacent now, finn. Not if you want the situation to be temporary.

Finn: No, I’m– I’m– I’m not, mom. Okay, steffy knows how much I love her and I know that she loves me too.

Li: Then remind her of that. Make sure she knows that you’ll keep sheila out of your lives, so she feels safe to come home. Finn, you have to know that any contact with sheila right now will drive steffy away for good.

Sheila: Wow.

Deacon: What?

Sheila: You are wow. I do want you to know though, I– I do understand the dilemma, the situation. It– it’s not easy for you.

Deacon: You know, for the first time in a long time, sheila, I’ve got something to lose. But that doesn’t mean I don’t care about you.

Sheila: Yeah, I know. I know you’ve– you have done so much for me time and time again, I don’t even deserve it. And it means so much to me. You mean so much to me.

Deacon: Sheila, if anyone finds out about us, I’m done. I could lose hope. I could lose my daughter.

Hope: What do you say we get out of here, grab a bite to eat?

Douglas: Can dad come?

Hope: Why don’t you ask him yourself? He’s standing right behind you.

Douglas: How long have you been standing there?

Thomas: Just a minute.

Douglas: Heard what I said?

Thomas: Yeah. I don’t deserve such an amazing kid. Thank you for saying what you did. Thank you for believing in me, having faith. I did things in the past and things you shouldn’t forgive me for, but you are somehow able to look past them. I think that’s beautiful. I’m so grateful for you. And to hear you say that I’ve moved past those things, become a better person? You have no idea what that means to me. Come on.

Thomas: Thanks, bud. Hearing you say that, you believe I’ve changed, it means so much to me. You’re my son. Being a father to you is the most important thing in the world. I love you so much.

Douglas: I love you too, dad. You’re a good dad. You’ve changed. I believe it.

Hope: That’s an important lesson to learn in life, right? No matter how old you are that you can be capable of growing and changing situations in your life and yourself. You can find forgiveness.

Douglas: That’s what I asked mommy to do. To find some forgiveness, for you, so we could all be a family.

Thomas: Yeah, look, I promise, I– I didn’t–

Douglas: Don’t worry, dad. I made sure mommy knew that you didn’t ask me to say any of those things. I thought of it all on my own.

Thomas: Yeah.

Hope: Well, of course you did because you are very, very smart.

Douglas: I hate that mommy’s so sad. I know she’s unhappy because liam left. But we can fix that as a family. Right, dad?

[ Thomas chuckling ]

Sheila: Hey, I probably understand better than anyone this relationship that you have with hope. The love and– and connection because that’s what I feel with finn.

Deacon: Okay, sheila, there’s some fundamental differences between your relationship with finn and my relationship with hope.

Sheila: No, you still had to– to fight for that love and acceptance just like I am right now with finn.

Deacon: Okay. That’s– that’s true. But I– I didn’t have quite the uphill climb. I mean, there’s that little incident with you shooting finn and his wife. There’s that.

Sheila: You keep saying that, but it was an accident.

Deacon: Your version of accidents can be lethal.

Sheila: I would never intentionally hurt my son. And one day, he’s gonna realize that. He’s going to know how much I love him. I’m– I’m not walking away from him, deacon. And I don’t think he wants me to. And with steffy gone, out of the picture. I will be in my son’s life.

Li: I don’t blame steffy for leaving. Sheila showing up at your doorstep whenever she feels like it? That has to be terrifying.

Finn: Look, I’ve told her I’ll cut sheila completely out of my life, okay? I’ve– I’ve told sheila the same thing.

Li: She won’t listen to you, finn. You’re a smart man. You’re a doctor for god’s sake. You had to know that opening up to sheila would be completely intolerable to steffy. To make it worse, you gave sheila hope. She now thinks that she has a chance to have a relationship with you.

Finn: I won’t allow it. She got the message. I– I promise you.

Li: Please. She’s never going to walk away from you. No, you have to do something. You have to take matters into your own hands.

Finn: What are you suggesting?

Li: You have to shut her down, finn. You have to do something that guarantees steffy that she will never have to worry about sheila ever again. (Michael) copd is harder on the folks around you, I think.

Thomas: Look, I– I love that you think I can make your mom happy and that we can be a family, right? But mom’s got a lot going on right now, right? So, we don’t want to put any extra pressure on her.

Hope: Oh, it’s all right. Sweetie, it’s all right. I can hear how much this means to you and I would never dismiss that. And I know how much you love your dad and me.

[ Phone dinging ]

Hope: Oh, shoot.

Thomas: You got a meeting?

Hope: Uh, not exactly. I actually was going to stop by my dad’s, but it– it can wait.

Thomas: No, no. You should go. Douglas and I will be fine. Right, bud?

Douglas: Yeah, I’m fine.

Hope: Yeah? Okay. Well, I love you and no matter what happens, we will always be a family, okay?

Finn: What exactly do you mean? I have to guarantee that steffy will never have to worry about sheila again?

Li: Well, you already had one opportunity to let sheila die. You saved her life.

Finn: I had to save her like I would any other patient.

Li: Except sheila wasn’t just any other patient. It was personal. You can’t lie to me, finn. I know you too well because I raised you.

Finn: First, do no harm. That’s what doctors pledge. If I would have let her die, that would have gone against everything that I stand for. That’s how you raised me. It would have made me a monster.

Li: It would have made you a hero. Now, do you want to save your marriage?

Finn: Of course, I want to save my marriage. Like what kind of question is that?

Li: Then, you have to take action. You have to find a way to convince steffy that sheila will never be a threat again because if you don’t, steffy will never come back. You will lose your wife and your children forever.

Sheila: Look, nothing is standing in my way now. With steffy out of the picture, there are no more obstacles.

Deacon: Come on, babe. Didn’t finn tell you that he never wanted to see you again?

Sheila: It’s only because she was standing right there.

Deacon: I think you need to start listening to what he’s saying. Hear him. He’s gonna choose his wife and family over you every time. He loves her.

Sheila: He loves me. We have an unbreakable bond. I could feel it when he held me, when he had me in his arms. I didn’t force him to do that, deacon. He did that because he wanted to because I’m his mother. I can see the love that he has for me every time I look into his eyes. I’m not imagining that.

Deacon: Look. I have no doubt that the guy’s conflicted. I mean, how could he not be? You are his mother. But he’s gonna choose his wife and his family first and you have to know that.

Sheila: No, no, she left, she took the kids and she left. She left him.

Deacon: Because you pushed her away.

Sheila: No, I didn’T. She doesn’t love him the way that she should. Not the way that I do. I– I don’t– I don’t make finn fight for my love and affection the way that steffy does. I can only imagine the pain that finn is feeling this very moment. But he doesn’t have to. He doesn’t have to because he’s got me. He’s got his mother.

Li: You have to fight, finn. You have to fight for your family! Fight for steffy!

Finn: I am trying.

Li: You try harder!

Finn: I am doing everything that I can to get through to her, to convince her to come home. And you know what, I am not gonna give up.

Li: Those are just words, finn. You need to go to her.

Finn: Well, she doesn’t want me to.

Li: And why do you think that is? Because of sheila. You cannot let that woman destroy your life, finn, and she will because she destroys everything she touches! I don’t care if she gave birth to you. She is not your mother. I am. I’m the one who rocked you to sleep and read you bedtime stories. I was the one who took you to your soccer games and wiped your tears when you fell. I’m the one who held you with love and comforted you when you had your first broken heart. I pushed you to be the best man you can be. Pushed you in school. Helped you become an accomplished doctor. That was me.

Finn: I know that, okay? And I would never, ever minimize what you did in my life, okay?

Li: That woman–

Finn: No, listen to me. I love you. You are my mother in every sense of the word.

Li: That woman has zero claim to you. She has zero claim to you and your heart. That love is mine.

Finn: I know. I know that, okay? And I love you. I love you so much.

Li: Then, how can you let her in? How can you even consider an opening for her?

Finn: Mom, I didn’t, okay? I didn’t want her here. I didn’t invite her over when steffy saw her. I had no idea that she was gonna show up, okay? She just came on her own.

Li: You opened the doors with your thank yous and your embraces. Call her mom. She’ll be back. It makes me sick! She will never keep her distance as long as she knows that you love her. So, finn, you have to dig deep in your heart. Dig deep and find that twisted connection you have with her and you cut that cord forever.

Deacon: You okay?

Sheila: Yeah. I’m sorry, I just– sometimes, I– I just, I love finn so much, I get desperate for him to see it. I’m not gonna give up, deacon. I– I’m so close to a breakthrough. I really feel it. He’s so smart and– and he’s– he’s brave and– and talented.

Deacon: Don’t forget trustworthy, handsome, loyal, honest.

Sheila: Is it so wrong for a mother to– to admire the son that she loves more than anything in this world?

Deacon: Admire? Okay, let’s go with that. No, it’s not wrong at all.

Sheila: Come on, you– you admire hope. You respect all the accomplishments that she’s made. Why– why is that so different than what I feel for finn?

Deacon: You’re right. I do love hope. I love her more than anything, which is why I’m not sure that we can keep doing this, sheila. The stakes are too high. If brooke or hope find out about us, they’re gonna have nothing to do with me. And, you know, now it’s like I’ve got something to lose. I mean, I could lose the restaurant. All my life, I’ve been looking for shortcuts, you know? Trying to find the angle. Not this time, not with il giardino. You wouldn’t want me to lose that, would you? Would you?

Sheila: No, of course I wouldn’T.

Deacon: You know, hope’s going through a really rough time right now. She needs me and, you know, I haven’t always been there for her as a father, but I am now and I can’t mess this up. I did– I can’t– I can’t take a chance.

Sheila: So, uh, what are you saying, daddy?

Deacon: I think you know.

[ Knocking on door ]

Hope: Dad? It’s me. Hollis said you were up here.

Deacon: Oh, my god.

Hope: Dad. Are you home?

Thomas: These numbers for hope for the future are still coming in strong, and carter, with that paris deal he just closed, I mean, that’s gonna blow up our exposure even more.

Hope: Well, I mean, what do you think of katie’s idea about meeting with leading climate experts? You know, utilizing upcycling, reducing our material waste?

Thomas: I mean, we could just put some focus into the recycling program we already have. Tell people to send their old clothes in, we’ll recycle them for you. I think it’s a brilliant idea.

Hope: Well, you are a brilliant designer, so… speaking of brilliant designers, your dad and eric. Uh, what do we think about that fashion showdown?

Thomas: [ Laughs ] Well, I don’t know. It doesn’t make any sense, to me, at least. I mean, why– why focus on couture when– when dad’s already got that, right? But also, hope for the future is what’s blowing up. Why not put our energy into that?

Carter: So, you and eric will be in competition with each other.

Ridge: Yeah. The plan is to preview two couture lines, and the buyers will determine the winner.

Carter: Hm. And you think that’s gonna be you.

Ridge: Carter. Come on, man.

[ Both chuckling ] Ever since I looked through that magic keyhole in rome, I feel inspired.

Carter: Ah, inspired by brooke. I’m glad I forced you to look through that keyhole.

Ridge: Me too.

Carter: In terms of the competition, ridge, we have a lot of logistics to work through, but… when it comes to your son, rj’s working with eric now. How do you feel about it?

Brooke: Well, well, well. I can see that you and eric have been hard at work.

Rj: Oh, yeah. Yeah, it’s been awesome. I’m, uh… I definitely feel very lucky to work with him.

Brooke: Yeah. I heard about the showdown.

Rj: Mm-hmm.

Brooke: You sure you wanna go through with that?

Rj: Granddad’s set on it, I’m excited about it and may the best man win. It’s gonna be fun, I think. I don’t know.

[ Brooke chuckles wryly ]

Brooke: Yeah. Just, uh… I’m a little nervous about it.

Rj: Why? Why are you nervous? Oh, I know why. You’re nervous that granddad’s gonna wipe the floor with dad? It’s okay. I understand.

Brooke: Uh, no. I would never underestimate eric forrester, and I certainly do believe in your talents.

Rj: Thank you.

Brooke: It’s just that I’m afraid this preview might pit father against son.

Rj: I– I agree. It does feel weird to be working for forrester and not to be working with dad. I mean, I always thought if I did end up working here, we’d be working together, not against each other.

Brooke: Yeah. That’s what he thought too.

Rj: Yeah.

Brooke: But he’s happy that you’re designing at all.

Rj: He told me that. We had a really good talk, and he said that.

Brooke: Oh, good. I’m glad. Because you know you’re very special to him, right? He loves you very much.

Katie: I’m not opposed to any of it but– oh! Ah, good, you’re both here. I just came from seeing carter, and he has a meeting with ridge. Imagine my surprise when I found out that the head of publicity doesn’t know anything about this fashion showdown. And, to be clear, the head of publicity is me. I don’t like being the last to know it makes my job very hard.

Donna: And don’t forget, rj’s also designing with eric.

Katie: And that. I need to get out in front of this thing, put the proper spin on it. So, is it really happening?

Carter: Ridge, you’ve always wanted rj to start designing for the family company.

Ridge: Yes, that’s been the plan for a long time.

Carter: Right, but he’s not working with you. He’s designing with eric.

Ridge: Carter, he’s designing. All right? That’s good. He’ll work with me soon enough.

Carter: It is good, but it has to be a bit of a blow, right? He chose your father over you.

Hope: This is stunning, thomas. I mean, this dress is going to have so much movement.

Thomas: Yeah. Actually, I did wanna do something new with it, so can you hand me a pencil?

Hope: Sure.

Douglas: Oh, hey, mom! Hi, dad! Pam said you were in here.

Hope: Sweetheart, w– what–

Thomas: Yeah, no. What are you doing here? I thought I was supposed to pick you up from mom’s later.

Douglas: I wanted to talk to mom about something.

Thomas: Okay. Uh, what’s up?

Hope: Yeah. Douglas, what’s going on? Are you tired of clean clothes that just don’t smell clean?

Katie: So, eric is working here because he thinks ridge is trying to push him out of the company?

Donna: Well, eric definitely feels that ridge is not supportive of his need to design.

Brooke: Ridge just thinks his dad shouldn’t have to concern himself doing a whole new collection. I mean, think about the stress involved.

Rj: And that’s where I come in though. I mean, I– I’ve been supporting him, and it’s been going okay. I mean, I think– I think it’s fine.

Brooke: Yeah, I know he appreciates it.

Donna: Eric treasures working with his grandson. And rj– rj’s innately talented. And I’m sure his contribution to this collection is gonna make a huge impact.

Rj: Yeah, he’s had a huge impact on me. I mean, his– his passion for this has made me realize that I have a passion for design. I– I will do whatever it takes to make this happen.

Ridge: You know what, carter? You’re right. This is not the way I wanted rj to start his career at forrester. I thought it was gonna be me and my two boys working together. And that will happen. But I– [ Sighs ] Rj, he’s really, really good. He’s really talented.

Carter: You’ve told him that?

Ridge: Course I told him that. I love him, I support him. And as soon as I win this little fashion battle, I– we’re gonna do something together, something special.

Carter: That very humble of you to say.

Ridge: I don’t have to be humble. I earned this. I earned my place. I’ve learned a lot from my dad, but I’m not afraid to go against him. Not for a long time.

Carter: Ridge, there’s no question that you earned this, but don’t count out the great eric forrester.

Hope: Is everything okay?

Douglas: Yeah. There’s just a lot going on. Never feel like I can talk about it around beth. So, I had ben’s mom come drop me off here.

Thomas: Did you wanna talk to you mom alone?

Douglas: Yeah.

Thomas: Okay. No worries. I will leave you to it, but just let me know if you need anything.

Hope: All right, come on. Let’s sit down so we can talk. What’s going on? You know you can talk to me about anything, right?

Douglas: I know. I’m just worried about you. I can see that liam moving out makes you sad.

Hope: Well, honey, I am sad about what’s happening between liam and me, but… that’s life. Sometimes things just don’t work out the way you want them to. But, hey, you have nothing to be concerned about, okay? I’m the mom here anyways. You aren’t supposed to be worrying about me.

Douglas: You’re the best, mom. I love you and beth so much. We were a family with liam.

Hope: Yeah, we were.

Douglas: And I was just thinking maybe we could be a family again with dad. Ma, ma-

Hope: Douglas, where is this coming from?

Douglas: I promise dad didn’t ask me to say anything to you about us being a family. I know that’s something he might’ve done in the past.

Hope: Oh, sweetie. Your dad has done a lot of work on himself to become a better man, a better father to you. He’s proven that people can change, and I hope you always believe that too. He loves you so much, and so do I, so don’t ever doubt that.

Douglas: I don’T. I love you both too. That’s why I had this idea. I hate seeing you so sad. You deserve to be happy all the time. And I know dad loves you. Maybe you love him?

Hope: Douglas, feelings can be complicated sometimes, especially when it comes to love.

Douglas: I just think that if you gave dad another chance, he could make you happy again. We could all be happy together.

Katie: Rj is on his way to the office. I told him not to talk to the press under any circumstances. Honestly, I’d like to keep this under wraps for as long as we can.

Brooke: Okay. Sounds like the right thing to do. And who knows? Maybe it won’t even happen at all, which might be the best.

Katie: So, you think that because ridge and eric don’t want to work together, it might cause tension between the two of them?

Brooke: Well, and for rj and ridge as well.

Donna: Okay, the way i understood is ridge didn’t wanna work with eric. He basically pushed him out, didn’t wanna listen to his ideas and eric got offended. Felt like he was getting put out to pasture.

Brooke: What? No! No, that was not his intention at all.

Donna: Well, that’s the way it came across. Anyway, I don’t even understand why ridge is so adamant about eric retiring. He should want to work with him. You know, maybe– maybe even give his old office back. Collaborate with him on this collection like he wanted to.

Brooke: Eric was the one who shut him down.

Katie: Why can’t ridge just give him this collection? I mean, god knows he’s earned it. He’s the founder of the company.

Brooke: Yes, but ridge is the head of the couture line, and that line is doing so well. So is hope for the future. And the bottom line is, ridge is ceo. He runs the company. He makes the decisions.

Thomas: So, granddad’s still, um, wanting to do his own new collection, huh? This whole fashion showdown thing, I just– I don’t get it.

Ridge: Well, he’s not backing down, so I won’t either.

Rj: Hey.

Thomas: Hey, look. It is forrester creations’ new fashion designer.

Rj: You heard?

Thomas: I did. Yeah. Although, we haven’t had an initiation quite yet.

Rj: Oh, I think I’ll skip the cloaks and the candles for now. I’m just here picking up some supplies. I’ll be out of your hair in a second, okay?

Thomas: Some supplies for granddad?

Rj: Yep.

Thomas: Okay. Well, you know, dad and I were actually just talking about this whole fashion showdown thing. Um… do you really think that’s a good idea?

Rj: Yeah, I think it’s a good idea. I wouldn’t be working on it if I didn’T.

Thomas: Sure. Yeah. Um… but look… dad has, uh, been working really hard and killing it with couture. And hope and I are doing a great job with hope for the future. Maybe, we should focus on what’s working, right?

Rj: Well, thomas, you’re just assuming that what granddad’s working on isn’t going to work. I mean, I’ve seen how this thing’s progressed. It’s incredible. He’s never done designs like this before in his life.

Thomas: Yeah, he’s never done designs like this with your help.

Rj: Yeah, it’s with my help. I’m learning a lot from him though.

Thomas: Yeah, no. And there’s– definitely there’s a learning curve to this job, a hundred percent. But look, um… the things that we’ve been working on, they’re doing really well. We wanna continue on that direction. I mean, I think that dad and i don’t think that what granddad’s bringing is really in keeping with the direction we wanna take the company.

Rj: The direction that you and dad want to take the company? You really think that that should trump the fact that eric forrester created the company and that he’s the heart and soul of everything that goes on around here?

Thomas: No.

Rj: Whatever direction that you guys are taking the company, you’re doing it on eric forrester’s legacy.

Hope: Sweetheart… I love that you care so much about our family.

Douglas: You’re my mom. I want you to be happy.

Hope: Well, you make me very, very happy. You know that, don’t you? And I appreciate your support. But no worrying about me, okay? Mommy’s strong. She’s gonna be just fine.

Douglas: I know, but I also believe that dad could make you feel better. Maybe not so sad? I’m a pretty good judge of character.

Hope: Yeah, you are, aren’t you?

Douglas: Look, dad wasn’t always the best dad. He made mistakes. But like you said, he’s not like that anymore. I don’t know if you’ll ever be able to completely forgive him for everything he’s done, but I really love seeing you so, if you could find a way to forgive him, even just a little bit, I know we would make a great family. And we could make your sadness go away.

Katie: Eric founded forrester creations. His sense of timeless style has defined the company since the very beginning.

Brooke: I don’t disagree, and in no way am I trying to diminish all of the wonderful things that he’s done for the company

Donna: Really, brooke? Just the company? He transformed the entire fashion industry. Okay? His designs are iconic.

Brooke: Of course that’s true. But all things must pass. And we’re not trying to be cruel here, donna. It’s just that I do agree with ridge. It is time for eric to put down the pencil and enjoy his life. Why should he carry the burden of creating a whole new collection? And you know what? That’s what people are gonna remember. His last act. So, why would he risk it? Why would he risk his entire legacy for that?

Donna: Oh. Okay, I get it. You don’t think he can win, do you? In fact, you don’t think that eric stands a chance against ridge?

Brooke: Forrester creations was defined by eric. But now it’s defined by ridge.

Rj: Dad, you didn’t have to ask thomas to leave. I mean, I know he has a different opinion than me, even though it’s the wrong opinion.

Ridge: I thought the two of us should talk.

Rj: I know what you’re gonna say, that you agree with him. Dad, you haven’t seen granddad creating recently. I mean, he’s full of passion and energy.

Ridge: No, I’ve seen him–

Rj: It’s intoxicating!

Ridge: Yes, I get it. I get it. Loyal you are towards him.

Rj: I feel like if granddad wants to make one final grand finale collection. I feel like he should be able to do it without having to beg you to do it. I mean, isn’t that degrading? Imagine if someone made you do that?

Ridge: Degrading? I’m the ceo of this company. It’s my job to oversee all the lines and see what sells. It’s what I do.

Rj: I know. I just… granddad, he just, he really wants to create. And he– and he’s full of these great ideas, and he– I just think that if you supported him and you gave him the budget to finish it, I mean, I feel like that’s just the right thing to do.

Ridge: Well, we’re gonna– we’re gonna settle this on the runway.

Rj: Yeah? I mean, that means you and i are gonna be competing.

Ridge: That’s okay. Get to see what you’ve got.

Rj: Oh, yeah? Same here. Curious.

[ Ridge laughs ]

Ridge: Hey, let me ask you something.

Rj: Yeah?

Ridge: Ever since you came back, I’ve been wanting you to work here and the answer was always no. But now you’re working with granddad, so somewhere along the way, the answer became yes. Why is that? What am I missing? Eric: What’s wrong with my hand? I can’t– I can’t grip a pencil. I can’t design. And if I can’t do that, it’s pretty much game over for my career. Unless you can help me.

Rj: Right now, I just want to be there for granddad. And I just wanna help him in any way that I can ’cause I love him. Don’t get me wrong. I love you too.

Ridge: And I love you.

Brooke: Honey, I am so thrilled that you started to design and so is your father. I just don’t want working with eric to cause tension for your dad and your granddad. I know how you don’t like family drama.

Rj: This is granddad we’re talking about. This isn’t– there’s no reason my dad should be upset or concerned.

Ridge: Oh, there’s my son. The person I wanted to talk to. I understand you’re working with granddad.

Rj: Yeah. Well, I mean, I wanted to tell you, but he– he wanted to keep it all between us, so.

Brooke: I don’t think they were trying to keep secrets.

Ridge: I don’t think they were trying to tell me either. That’s the only one thing I gotta say to you, son. I am so, so happy you’re designing. Welcome to forrester. Good luck to you.

Donna: I love seeing you like this, in your element.

Eric: I haven’t felt this fulfilled in a long time. Professionally, I mean. I’m so excited. Putting this line together, doing all this with rj? It’s wonderful. It’s– it’s really wonderful. Then, of course, having you in my arms is pretty good too.

Donna: I– I saw ridge here earlier. Does he share your enthusiasm?

Eric: Well…

[ Knocking on door ] It’s open.

Carter: Hey.

Donna: Hi.

Eric: Carter.

Carter: Hi, donna. Eric, I have the paperwork from the paris deal. It needs your approval asap. You really turned this place into a makeshift studio, huh?

Eric: I wanted some place private to design.

Carter: You’re starting a new collection? Your grand finale?

Hope: I, um… I locked that door, right?

Thomas: Yeah. Yeah, that was right before you took your clothes off in front of me. Yeah, I don’t think this office is ever gonna feel the same again. Is this really happening? I’m just– for a long time, I waited for this.

Hope: Worth the wait?

Thomas: You’re so beautiful. I never knew it could be like this.

Hope: I just… I want to make sure that you understand where my head is at right now.

Thomas: I’m good.

Hope: It’s not love for me yet. I mean, I– I’m not ready and I just, I want to make sure that you understand that.

Thomas: I know.

Hope: It may never be.

Thomas: And I know that too.

Hope: So, are you really okay with this then?

Thomas: As long as you’re in my arms, I’m fine.

Donna: So, I guess brooke told you.

Carter: I ran into her and rj at the office.

Donna: Well, you know, I could see her being surprised but there’s really no reason for her to be upset.

Carter: That’s not the impression I was getting. I am curious though. Why do you feel the need to go off on your own? If this is your final collection, why design it all by yourself?

Eric: I’m not all by myself. I’m doing this with my talented and loyal grandson.

Rj: Dad, I know you’ve been wanting me to design since, like, forever, but you’re– you’re not upset that I’m working with granddad, right?

Brooke: I was saying to rj how I don’t want there to be issues because he’s working with your father and not with you, but there’s not gonna be any problems. I mean, you do agree with that, don’t you? Do you struggle with occasional nerve aches

Brooke: Well, I’m gonna go so you can have a chat.

Ridge: You don’t have to leave.

Brooke: I think I should. You need to talk to your son alone, designer to designer. Bye, honey.

Rj: Love you, mom.

Brooke: Love you. Just remember, you both love each other.

Ridge: Bye.

Brooke: Bye.

Rj: Well, dad, honestly, um, designer to designer, I’m not sure I’m ready to carry the title of that yet.

Ridge: Working with your granddad, that won’t take too long.

Rj: I’m learning so much from him. He’s really letting me express my own ideas too.

Ridge: You couldn’t find a better mentor.

Rj: Wait, so you agree? You think that it’s a good thing that I’m working with granddad? Right? Because I mean, honestly, I feel lucky that he’s even taking me underneath his wing. It’s great.

Ridge: I agree, and it’s great and yes, you’re lucky.

Ridge: So, you’re happy for me.

Ridge: I’m happy for you and I’m happy for me. Following in my footsteps.

Ridge: Just like you followed in granddad’S.

Ridge: Speaking of granddad, I’m worried about him.

Carter: Eric. I understand why this collection is so important to you.

Eric: You do?

Carter: I do. But my job is to make sure things run smoothly within our company. Our image as a cohesive family-run organization is as important as the product we put out. Now, control of forrester creations and the design talent in your family being passed down from one generation to another, eric, that’s our huge selling point. That makes us unique.

Eric: And so the older generation is expected to stand aside for the younger generation and let them take over? I mean, is that what you think? I think that’s probably what ridge thinks as well.

Carter: That– that’s not what I think and I’m sure ridge is just concerned.

Eric: Concerned about what? About me? About my, uh, about my abilities?

Carter: No, no. No one’s doubting your expertise. That would be foolish. Your career and your accomplishments, they speak for themselves. Starting a new couture line that can be viewed as competing with the one ridge is producing, eric, that is risky.

Eric: Do you think I’m afraid of a little risk? Carter, that was the whole beginning of my business, was taking a risk. You didn’t think I had the confidence to take that– that leap of faith? We all choose our own paths and I trust mine and you can trust it too.

Carter: And there’s no way you can work on this project with ridge?

Eric: Not with ridge. I’m doing this alone. Ridge and I are going head to head in a competition on the runway.

Thomas: You know, this newfound change in you is, uh, unexpected.

Hope: Hm. Well, I guess I’m just full of surprises then, aren’t I? You know, I just feel like something has lit up inside of me and, you know, it just feels very freeing.

Thomas: Hm. Yeah, I like to be the kind of person that can help you explore this newfound freedom.

Brooke: Sweetie, I have the sample– oh– oh, my god. Hope! Family is just very important.

Carter: You and ridge are competing against each other?

Eric: Yes. Not for the first time, but I think probably for the last.

Donna: Wait– wait a minute. When did this happen? Is this– is this what you and ridge were talking about earlier when he came over?

Eric: Yes. Yes. I was about to tell you, and that’s when– that’s when carter came in. Ridge and I are competing. Head to head. It’s a competition on the runway. Winner take all. And the buyers decide who that is.

Donna: Eric, I– I– I completely understand why you’d want to do this. I do, but… do you really want to put this much pressure on yourself?

Carter: Putting pressure on the company? Are you sure you want to go down that road?

Eric: I’ve never been more sure of anything. My collection will prevail.

Ridge: My dad. He’s worked for years and years to build this company. Built all this. You know why?

Rj: Why?

Ridge: So, we can stand on his shoulders.

Rj: But?

Ridge: No but. And. And now it’s time for him to take a break, to take it easy, not to burn the midnight oil trying to come up with another line, another collection. What does he have to prove?

Rj: Nothing, he just– I feel like he has something to offer, okay? He has a vision. It’s a– it’s a great vision, dad. Why do you want him to retire so bad?

Ridge: It’s not about him retiring. I want him to be happy. He’s made a mark in this business, a bigger mark than any of us could ever hope to make. Should be enough.

Rj: It’s not enough. Look, I– I know that you care about granddad. I can see that and that you love him and that you just want what’s best for him. But I’ve– I’ve been spending a lot of time with him recently and I think there’s a lot more going on there.

Ridge: What does that mean?

Rj: Grandad’s not ready to retire, okay? He’s not even close.

Ridge: I know. I can see that he wants to keep working, but he doesn’t want to work with me. He wants to work with you.

Hope: Gosh, mom. It’s like you know when I’m with thomas. We really have to work on your timing.

Brooke: I was looking for you because we have work to do and I didn’t expect to find you here kissing thomas and whatever else it was that you were doing.

Hope: Oh, come on, mom. Like you and ridge haven’t?

Brooke: This isn’t about me and ridge. I am concerned because of things that have happened in the past and I have every right to be concerned. So, why don’t you tell me? Where do things really stand for you and thomas? To 50 years with my best friend.

Hope: Mom, I love you and I know that you’re concerned, but we know what we’re doing.

Brooke: Do you?

Hope: Yes.

Brooke: Okay. So, all of a sudden, you’re in love with thomas.

Hope: No, actually, but thomas, he knows where I stand. I haven’t made any commitments or promises. We’re on the same page.

Brooke: And how do you feel about this? Oh, I’m sure you’re fine with it, right? I mean, you’ve been after my daughter for years.

Hope: Oh, my gosh, mom, I’ve made this decision. Me, I want this and I’ve made the rules and boundaries very clear.

Brooke: What about liam? What about your family? I know you still love him and I know you miss him and your life together.

Eric: Donna, was, uh, was carter any more at ease with all this after you walked him out?

Donna: I’m not really so sure. I mean, he kind of plays things close to the vest.

Eric: Yeah, he does.

Donna: But I will have katie investigate.

Eric: Good. Good.

Donna: But I do know he wants what’s best for the company and for you.

Eric: Well, any misgivings he has will disappear once he sees the collection.

Donna: I have no doubt.

Eric: Yeah.

Donna: Back to ridge. Does he, um… I’m assuming you didn’t tell him about your hands? The tremors?

Eric: No, donna, absolutely not. There’s no reason for him to know about it and I don’t want him to. The only people that know about this are– are you and me and– and rj and my doctor. That’s all.

Donna: You know how much I love you, right?

Eric: Yeah, I do. You do a really good job letting me know that. Thank you.

Donna: I’m just so proud of you and I believe in you and what you’re doing here and your– your vision and…

Eric: I’m so excited about all this and I know, in talking about it, I– I give rj all this credit and– and it’s all about the ideas coming out of my head and everything. But you, you’re an absolute inspiration to me. You mean so much to me. Never doubt that.

Donna: I’m happy when you’re happy. You know, your enthusiasm is contagious.

Eric: Look at you.

Donna: It’s literally impossible to be around you and not– not get excited for whatever happens next. And I’m just so happy to be here to share it with you.

Eric: You know, I wasn’t lying when I said that you’re my muse. My muse. I mean, look at you. So beautiful. You’re so smart. You’re so smart. You’re funny. And you’re sexy too. With your inspiration, I can– I can do anything. Whatever ridge does, let him bring it on, can’t scare me. We’ll win this thing and then we’ll have time for a martini after, I promise. Okay?

Donna: I love you. I love you so much.

Eric: That’s so good. Okay. Okay.

Rj: I know. I know you have some reservations about granddad designing, but how do you– how do you feel about me working with him? Are you– are you okay with it? It’s a great opportunity, right?

Ridge: I’m more than okay with it. I love it. And I don’t know if I’ve ever said this to you, but I– I think you have more natural talent than any of us.

Rj: No pressure.

Ridge: No pressure. You know, being a dad, isn’t– it’s not easy. I’M… you always– you want what’s best for your kids. You want them to have a long and happy life and you want them to choose their path, and I… I didn’t wanna push anyone and brooke may disagree. She thinks I pushed you too much to go a certain direction, but it’s because I saw what you could do as a kid when you were– you know, you were drawing stuff and there was– there was emotion and movement. You can’t teach that. And yes, I wanted you to be a designer, I did, but you found your way here. You did this, into this building that bears your name. And you know, one day when I figure out things with granddad, and I will, we– it’s gonna be okay. And then you and I, we’re gonna do something. We’re gonna do something magical together.

Rj: I’d be honored, dad.

Ridge: I’d be honored. There’s something you always gotta remember. Remember how proud I am of you and– and how much I appreciate your talent and how much I love you.

Rj: Thanks, dad.

Ridge: Come here.

Daytime Soap Opera Short Recaps

B&B logo

Recap written by Suzanne

Ridge and Eric continue to argue about Eric’s wanting to make a new line of his own (with RJ), even though they had previously agreed to compete against each other and let the buyers decide. Eric doesn’t tell Ridge about his arthritis in his hands, and that’s why RJ has to help him. He thinks Ridge is just bothered that RJ is working with him, and not Ridge. Ridge doesn’t understand why Eric feels he needs this, now, but he agrees to the competition.

Brooke and RJ discuss the situation with Ridge and Eric. Carter comes in during the conversation, so they fill him in. Carter thinks it’s great, although it is a slight risk because Forrester has so much going on right now with the other lines.

Hope and Thomas continue to have sex in his office. She stops again to make sure he’s okay with them having a “no strings” relationship (and he says he is).

Ridge: You’re not budging on this at all, are you?

Eric: Designing for the company I founded? No.

Ridge: [ Sighs ] Yes, the company you founded. How about we do what we talked about? Take some of your designs, put ’em in the couture line.

Eric: The couture line that you’re working on.

Ridge: The couture line that we’ve worked on over the years? Yeah. What is your problem?

Eric: Why do I have to keep telling you this, Ridge? I’m designing this line, and I’m doing it solo.

Ridge: Solo? With RJ!

Eric: Yes, with RJ. I’m doing it with RJ. [ Grunts ] He’s helping me. He’s, uh… he’s helping me put these designs on paper. That’s what’s bothering you, isn’t it? That your son is designing, but he’s designing with me and not with you.

RJ: Mom, are you saying that my designing with Granddad could hurt his relationship with Dad? I mean, I don’t want that, but I don’t– I don’t understand. Why would Dad be angry?

Brooke: No, he’s not angry. Just the opposite. He’s ecstatic that you’re designing. I meant that.

RJ: Yeah?

Brooke: He just wishes that the circumstances were different.

RJ: He wish– what– what does that even mean? Are you saying that Dad doesn’t want me designing with Granddad?

Hope: Are you sure you’re okay with this?

[ Hope exhales sharply ]

Hope: You– you get what this is, right?

Thomas: Yeah.

Hope: Yeah. Just, I… I– I know your commitment to me, and, Thomas, the way you’re looking at me, I just–

Thomas: Hey. You’re so beautiful.

[ Hope chuckles ]

Thomas: We’re good. No strings.

Hope: Okay. ‘Cause I… love what we’re doing together. I just… is it really going to be enough for you?

Brooke: I still can’t believe that you kept it from your father and me that you’re designing. That is incredible! We’re so proud.

RJ: Thank you, Mom. Yeah, I, um– I mean, I just wanted to keep it low-key ’cause Granddad wanted to keep it low-key, so.

Brooke: Okay. Well, I respect his wishes. It was still a shock, though.

RJ: Well, what’s life without a few surprises, am I right?

Brooke: [ Laughs ] That’s right. It’s a little more complicated for your father, but… you should’ve seen his face when I told him. He was, uh… he was amazed. I think it took a minute for him to believe it.

Carter: Um… believe what?

RJ: Hey, Carter. Um… well, I mean, you’re gonna find out sooner or later. Uh, my granddad is creating a new line, and I’m helping him with it.

Carter: What? I’m sorry. Wait, hold on, hold on. Is RJ Forrester actually getting involved in the family company? How, man? How so?

Eric: RJ and I are working together.

Ridge: I know. You’re mentoring him. Great.

Eric: No, it’s more than mentoring him. He’s doing this collection with me.

Ridge: This– yeah, your– your grand finale. Yes.

Eric: Yes. You should be thrilled that he’s designing.

Ridge: I am thrilled!

Eric: No, I think it bothers you. I think it really bothers you.

Ridge: Why do you keep saying that it bothers me? Nothing bothers me. No, I wanted this from the day he was born.

Eric: Yes, and now he’s finally doing it, and he’s designing with me, and not with you.

Carter: Seriously, RJ, congratulations, man. You couldn’t be learning from a better artist, a better designer than Eric.

RJ: Yeah. Believe me, I know how lucky I am.

[ Carter chuckles ]

Carter: Your dad must be losing his mind.

RJ: That sounds about right.

[ All chuckling ]

RJ: Yeah, I think, uh– well, I actually haven’t had the chance to talk to him yet, Mom.

Brooke: Right. I was the one who had the pleasure of sharing this amazing news, and we’re both so excited. And your dad? Oh, my gosh. He is so proud.

Carter: And Eric, he’s the one teaching you.

Brooke: Seems like you’re very passionate about the work that you’re doing together.

RJ: Oh, yeah. I mean– well, he is teaching me, and that’s been great. It’s been amazing. But… Mom, it’s even more than that. I mean, he called this line “our line.” I mean, you have no idea how that makes me feel.

Ridge: Here you go.

Eric: Well, thank you. Cheers.

Ridge: Cheers. Mmm.

Ridge: Perfect?

Eric: Very close.

[ Ridge chuckles ]

Ridge: What are you doing? What is all this? What do you– what do you want? Do you want– want drama in your life? Is that it?

Eric: There’s not drama. It’s just a– it’s a pretty simple story, really. With RJ… RJ was off in the world. Traveling around, not communicating with us very much, not coming home very often. He had no interest in the family business. And now he’s home, and all of a sudden, he’s designing away. With me, and– and not with you. It’s– it’s not drama. It’s a pretty simple story, really. And I wanna be sure that my son isn’t harboring some kind of resentment there. RJ’s a great kid.

Ridge: He is a great kid. I gotta say something, I’m sorry. You really think I have a problem with you teaching him? You? Absolutely not. You’re the best. You taught me. You’re– you’re the master. There’s no one better to teach him. I– I get that. You know what I don’t get? This. How it’s looking like you’re having a yard sale. This– what– what are you doing, putting yourself through all of this stress, all this anxiety, to do one more thing. Why? Let’s do it together as a family. You, me and RJ. We’ll do it together. Why wouldn’t we do that?

Eric: Because this is all mine.

Hope: Mmm. Yeah, I don’t– I don’t wanna talk anymore.

Thomas: Well, there’s a simple solution to that.

Hope: I do. I– I want this.

Thomas: So do I.

Hope: But I just– I just– um, I need to make sure that you– you can handle it.

Thomas: I can.

Hope: The agreement. You understand?

Carter: I’m really excited for you, RJ. I mean, you’re designing. This is huge. It’s a wonderful opportunity. You’re carrying on the family legacy.

RJ: Thank you, Carter. It means a lot.

Carter: But I have to be honest. I do have reservations. It’s the timing, man. To start a new line while Hope For The Future is firing on all cylinders, not to mention the continued success of Ridge’s couture line, it’s– it’s risky.

RJ: Yeah, but other than that…

Brooke: Ah, you do make some good points, though. You do. And I imagine Ridge feels the same way.

Carter: Yeah. But I do know the history of this place very well, and the first collection was a gamble, but it worked. We’re here today because Eric took a risk.

Ridge: I’m trying to figure this out, you know, where it’s coming from, this– this need to wanna do this all on your own.

Eric: Well, I know what it is. Uh, maybe it’s, uh, the, uh… it’s the ego of the artist.

Ridge: [ Chuckles ] The ego of the artist. I like that.

Eric: Yeah.

Ridge: Um, let me ask you something. Do you know what the artist needs? More than fabric, pencils, drawings? You know what that is? The press.

Eric: The press?

Ridge: Listen to this: “Three generations of Forresters meet. The third one was pulled from the shadows by the famous grandfather.” Huh? Story writes itself.

Eric: It’s a Pulitzer.

Ridge: It is.

Eric: Ah, it’s wonderful. It is. The only trouble with this is that you still– you still retain control of the line, and I’m working for you.

Ridge: What does that have to do with anything?

Eric: Ridge, I’ve been– I’ve been happy to stand in the wings quite a lot over the last few years and give you the limelight. Deserved. Well-deserved. Been very proud of you. But– but not this time.

Ridge: You really wanna do this?

Eric: Couldn’t be more certain.

Thomas: You. [ Chuckles ]

Hope: You.

Thomas: All this change in you.

Hope: Mmm. Well, I’m pretty surprised myself. I discovered something that I never even knew existed. And, uh… [ Whispers ] …I like it.

Brooke: So what are you saying, Carter? You support Eric’s decision to break off and create his own line, even though you know the risks better than anybody?

Carter: I’m not saying that, but I am too smart to count out the great Eric Forrester.

Ridge: And here I thought Mom was the stubborn one. Yeah, well, you live with someone long enough, you know–

Ridge: Yeah, good point. Yeah. Do– do you not feel relevant anymore? Is that it?

Eric: No, Ridge! No, that’s not it.

Ridge: What– what, you– you feeling your own mortality? No, Eric Forrester, you’re gonna outlive all of us.

Eric: Well, thank you for that, and thanks for acknowledging that I might have a few good years left in me.

Ridge: Sure. But I need you to acknowledge something too. There’s a new generation at Forrester.

Eric: New generation. That’s, uh… why, that’s you, isn’t it?

Ridge: No, it’s not me. No– yeah. Yes, it is me. And Steffy. And maybe RJ, and Thomas. Look at what we’re doing. Look at hope for the future. Show some pride in that. Be proud of that.

Eric: I’m so proud! I’m so proud of this company. Of course I’m proud of that. I’m just not ready to ride off into the sunset.

Ridge: No one’s asking you to do that. No, it’s the opposite. People want you to stay here and maybe mentor the next generation because their success is your success. How do you not see that?

Eric: All right, stop. Stop, Ridge, stop it. God! I need this. I want this, this– this new collection of mine. My– my– my legacy collection. I want that.

Ridge: Legacy collection. With all due respect, Dad… what if it doesn’t succeed?

Eric: It will.

Ridge: You don’t know that.

Eric: I do.

Ridge: You don’t! You don’t know that. We’ve never known that, never. But I do know something. I know that you, you can go into any bar anywhere in the world, and somebody will buy you a martini because of what you’ve done. You can go to any– any ballroom anywhere, and some sexy lady’s gonna ask to dance with you because of what you’ve done. Any yacht, any harbor, anywhere in the world, you can walk onto, and they will host you for as long as you want, because of what you’ve done. Not– not because of what you wanna do. You have plenty of accolades. What do you need?

Eric: I’m the founder of this company, Ridge. You don’t– you don’t get to tell me what to do.

Ridge: You’re right. Okay. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Eric: Warn me.

Ridge: You wanna do this with me? This fashion showdown, with me? Well… just know that I’m at the top of my game.

Eric: Hmm. That’s one big ego you got.

Ridge: I know. [Indistinct]

Eric: Yeah.

Ridge: Not my fault.

Eric: Hmm.

Ridge: I’m with Brooke. She inspires me. Everything I touch turns to gold. You sure you wanna do this?

Eric: Absolutely. Let’s settle this on the runway.

Ridge: Okay.

Ridge: Just like dad, isn’t it? To create a whole new collection. Why now? The forrester season’s already set.

Brooke: He is determined, that’s for sure.

Ridge: Yeah, he’s determined. He’s always determined. I mean, he should go on vacation, take some rest, retire already.

Brooke: Retirement is not on his mind. Let’s look at the bright side of this. He’s using our son to help him create his grand finale.

Eric: Rj, I am so happy, so happy to have your support.

Rj: Hey, it goes both ways. Thank you for trusting me to bring your vision to life. And for teaching me.

Eric: You’re welcome. You’re a natural, you know?

Rj: Ah, come on! I don’t know about that.

[ Eric laughs ]

Eric: I do. Look, I’m so thankful that that you’re following in my footsteps. I really am. And I’m so grateful that you’re giving me the spark and the energy to create this final line of mine. Thank you.

Hope: Stop what you’re doing. All right, I want to try this on and get your thoughts.

Thomas: Okay, so what do we have here? Is it the number five with the added straps?

Hope: Hm. Why don’t you find out?

Thomas: Okay.

Hope: You know, what am i doing? It’s just–

Eric: Come on, we’re almost finished with this.

Donna: I hate to break up the party, honey bear, but, um, you wanted me to remind you about your call with pasquale.

Eric: Oh. Oh, that’s right. He’s one of our longtime suppliers. Wait ’til you see the chiffon. It’s super.

Rj: Can’t wait.

Eric: Yeah. Good. Uh, uh, luna, it was such a pleasure to meet you and I appreciate you bringing all this stuff to us. We’re very lucky to have you at forrester. Welcome.

Luna: My pleasure, thank you.

Eric: Good, okay. See you.

Rj: I’ll see you. Well, and then there were two.

Luna: I, um, I hope you don’t mind me of watching a bit while you worked.

Rj: Oh, what? Were you? I did– I didn’t even notice that.

Luna: Um, listen, I know that I’m just like an intern and I probably shouldn’t be commenting on things but your design, it’s fire.

Rj: Thank you. I appreciate it. I mean, you know, they’re all my granddad’s ideas. I’m just sketching them.

Luna: No, it’s an art. I mean, you’re an artist. It was sweet to see you work with your grandfather.

Ridge: I wonder how my dad got rj to start designing. And I’ve tried, as you know, over the years to, you know, suddenly move them in that direction.

Brooke: Subtly?

Ridge: Yeah. Yeah. Very subtly. I just– I want him to be part of this legacy, you know.

Brooke: Yeah. Yeah, it’s more like, “hi, son. How was school today? Ready to come work for me at the office?” Or “merry christmas, son. Here’s a new set of pencils.”

Ridge: Yeah.

Brooke: Or how about… “if you spent half the time honing your design skills as you do on that phone?

Ridge: What is that? That’s me? I’m doing this?

Brooke: Yeah, that’s you.

Ridge: I never do that. And those were good pencils. Are you done?

Brooke: Are you?

Ridge: Yes. No, I’m not. No, I’m not done because I want– I want my boy to work with me at this company.

Brooke: Well, I think that’s what he’s doing. But with your father.

Ridge: Yeah. And that’s okay. What better person to learn from? My dad’s the greatest. He’s the master and he– he should be helping younger people. Mentor them, start a school, do something. You didn’t have to design a whole new line for us. We’re fine. Everything’s fine. Hope for the future’s doing great. Couture’s doing great. We don’t have room for another line. So, I gotta find a way somehow to put an end to this grand finale my dad has in mind. For people who are a little intense about hydration.

Brooke: So seriously, how are you gonna convince your dad not to do the collection?

Ridge: I don’t know. I have no idea, but I have to do it and I will do it with love and kindness because I– I don’t want him thinking that I’m taking his keys away, you know.

Brooke: Well, he wouldn’t let you do that anyway. You see the tricky part is that our son is involved now and we don’T… want him to have a negative reaction about being a designer.

Ridge: Exactly, but I think if– if I try to explain to rj that this is not good for granddad, that designing this whole line is too much for him, then maybe they’ll understand. What I don’t want is him stuck in the middle cause that’s what it seems like right now.

Brooke: Okay. Well, don’t think that, okay? Our son, rj, is a designer. I mean, did you ever think?

Ridge: I always thought that. He didn’T. I was right.

Brooke: I mean, this could be the brand new beginning of this very exciting chapter in rj’s life.

Ridge: Yeah. I just gotta get through to my dad.

Luna: I should, um, get back to forrester.

Rj: Yeah. Yeah. Well, um, I’m headed that way too. You know, I never actually sketched in front of anyone before.

Luna: Oh. Don’t tell me I made you nervous. Oh, okay. Well, if this is your work when you’re distracted, then I can only imagine when you’re really vibing.

Rj: Thank you. So, what did you say earlier? You said something about you attending fashion school, yes?

Luna: Yeah. So, just imagine how incredible all this is for me. I mean, getting an internship at a major fashion house?

Rj: Well, I mean, when you put it like that–

Luna: Yeah, it’s the ultimate behind the scenes. You work well with your grandfather.

Rj: Yeah. Yeah, I really, uh, I really lucked out on a mentor there. I was, uh– I was very lucky to grow up in all of this, you know? I have so many memories of my dad and my granddad just designing together for hours.

Luna: And yet you’re so normal.

Rj: Yeah. Well, you just met us, so… heck, you don’t even know me yet.

Luna: No, it kind of feels like I do. From your content.

Rj: Ah.

Luna: Yes.

Rj: That’s right. You follow me, don’t you? What do you follow me on? I’m gonna find out right now. Luna.

Luna: All right, what are you– what are you–

Rj: L-u-n-A. Oh, there you are. Found you. Is that you? Yeah? Oh, wow. You’re private. Come on. I showed you mine.

[ Luna chuckles ]

Luna: See? Nice.

Rj: All right, fine. You wanna keep me guessing? I like it. Very mysterious. Hm.

[ Both chuckling ] Tv: Try tide power pods with 85% more tide in every pod.

Thomas: You know, I– I always enjoyed fittings with us.

Hope: Hm. It’s long overdue. You know, when we would, um… and your hands were on my body, I thought that maybe you could hear my heart beating. So fast. And now… I don’t have to hide it.

Rj: So, he wants to do that. Hi, mom. How are you?

Brooke: Hi, rj, ginge.

Ginge: Hi, mrs. Forrester.

Rj: Um, what is it? He wants to also increase dawn and theodore’s hours for the next couple of weeks. And alterations. Let alterations know that they are now exclusive to eric. He has some new designs.

Ginge: Okay. Got it. Yeah, he’s– he’s really been cranking them out. I’ll scan those in, uh, for the server.

Rj: Yeah. Thank you, man. I appreciate it.

Ginge: Yeah. Hey, anytime. You, um, you gonna drop any new content soon? I notice you haven’t posted in over a week.

Rj: Uh, yeah, I just– I’ve just been super busy.

Ginge: Sure there’s anything I can help you with?

Rj: Um, just the scans for now. Thanks.

Ginge: Yeah. Um, I’m on it.

Rj: Thanks.

Ginge: Bye, mrs. Forrester.

Brooke: Bye. I like seeing you around here helping out. Seems like you’re doing a lot of that these days.

Rj: Yeah. Uh, so dad, um, he knows, doesn’t he? He knows that I’m designing with granddad?

Brooke: Uh, well, I was instructed to deliver a message and I couldn’t really do that unless I told your dad that you were working with your grandfather.

Rj: I feel like I should talk to him.

Brooke: Yeah. That would be a good idea.

Rj: Where is dad? Where is he?

Brooke: Well, I– he went to talk to your grandfather.

Rj: Was dad upset?

Brooke: He appreciates what you’re both doing. He really does. He’s just worried about eric.

Ridge: Dad? So, I understand you’re coming after me.

Eric: So, you spoke to brooke, did you?

Ridge: Yeah. Wow. This is, um… hey, oh, I just had an idea. How about this? How about we find a place? Not– not just a place, a whole building just for design and fashion. You want to do that? We could call it, um, forrester creations. Find a little place in beverly hills. May I?

Eric: Yeah. Sure. Go ahead.

Ridge: Rj?

Eric: Mm-hmm. He illustrated my vision for me with my help. Yeah.

Ridge: Oh, man. Wow, you did it.

Eric: I did what?

Ridge: You got rj to pick up a pencil and do something. You– you succeeded where I failed.

Eric: Yeah.

Ridge: This is amazing.

Eric: It is. Bold lines, extraordinary texturization. I mean, you can’t teach that.

Ridge: No, you can teach that. That’s eric forrester. It’s a signature right here.

[ Eric chuckles ] Thank you for teaching rj. Makes my heart sing.

Eric: That’s not all that’s going on here, you know. Mentoring rj.

Ridge: I know, I– I know that I, but, um, how about this? How about… we take some of these designs and put them in the couture line? Could we do that?

Eric: Your collection?

Ridge: I–

Eric: Not interested. This is my line, ridge. Not yours. This is my grand finale.

Hope: You sure you’re good with this? Can you handle it? Yes?

Rj: So, what are– what are you saying? Are you saying dad’s concerned?

Brooke: The toll it could take on eric designing a whole new collection. Besides, we already have a full lineup.

Rj: And– but he’s got me to help him, so–

Brooke: And we’re very excited about that. That you’re giving design a try. You know this is a dream come true for your dad. I just hope it doesn’t come at the expense of your father’s relationship with your grandfather.

Eric: So, what do you think? Oh, you’re gonna give us notes now, right?

Ridge: I’m not. No, I’m not. That’s not what I’m doing at all. I’m– I’m just– I’m happy that you got rj to design stuff.

Eric: It’s in his blood, ridge.

Ridge: It is. I couldn’t agree more. It’s in all of our blood, right? Three generations of forrester. Look, I– I get thomas to join us and all of us will do something together.

Eric: Wait, all of us? On your line?

Ridge: That’s not–

Eric: That’s not gonna happen. You know, ridge… you’re not listening to me. I need this.

Ridge: You need what?

Eric: I need– I need the excitement and– and the limelight and the stress. Just like it was in the beginning for me.

Ridge: Okay, and why do you need that now? What, you– you’ve proven yourself over and over again.

Eric: And this is my chance to do it one more time. One more beautiful line. That’s what I wanna do. And I tried to tell you this, but– but you dismissed me.

Ridge: I didn’t dismiss you.

Eric: Yes, you did. “I’m too busy running the line. I’m too busy running the company.” The company that I founded.

[ Ridge scoffs ] You gave me a million reasons why I shouldn’t do this. And you know, that’s what convinced me that I needed to do this without you. And that’s the way it’s gonna be. You’re not gonna talk me out of this.

[ Ridge exhaling ] What?

Ridge: I wish mom were here.

Eric: [ Chuckles ] Why? So, she could gang up on me too?

Ridge: No! No one is ganging up on you, you crazy old loon. She would see her eric forrester. The man she loved so much. His passion, his desire… however misguided it may be. You know what? Fine, do it. Do your collection, I’ll do mine. We’ll let the buyers decide. We’ll settle it on the runway. Deal?

Eric: Deal.

[ Relaxing music ]

Ridge: Dad said that? He’s, uh, he’s coming after me? I don’t– I don’t know what that means.

Brooke: He told me to put you on notice.

Ridge: Put me on notice. Okay. I don’t know what that means either, but it’s vague, right? But what is– I don’t– I don’t get it.

Brooke: I went over there to talk to Donna about Eric, and RJ was there, found out that he’s designing with Eric.

Ridge: And that’s amazing. How cool is that? He’s finally starting. This is all– all I ever wanted for him. But what’s the other thing you said about Dad and his grand finale collection? What is that?

Brooke: Eric is determined to do this collection alone or at least without you. Seems like he’s in some kind of competition with you.

Eric: See this? This drape here, right along the ground.

RJ: Mm-hmm

Eric: You got that exactly right. Right at the floor.

RJ: Okay.

Eric: Perfect. It’s exactly what we talked about. Nice. And you’ve said you’ve never designed before. I’ve seen your drawings when you were a little kid.

RJ: Granddad, come on. That was just for fun. They’re hardly the couture visions that you dream up.

Eric: Yeah, it’s a– it’s a real curse.

Donna: Oh, please. We should all be so talented. I’m just happy to see you so alive and vital.

Eric: I should’ve helped you with that. I should help you with it.

Donna: No, no. [ Grunts ] I got it.

RJ: You got it?

Donna: I got it. Okay. All right. Uh, Luna, the new intern, um, she’s gonna be over soon with the rest of the supplies you wanted, and, um, I trust her to be discreet. Although, we don’t really have to be now since, uh, Brooke came over unannounced earlier. The secret’s kind of ruined.

Eric: Yeah, she kind of spoiled that, didn’t she? It’ll be all right. It’ll be all right.

Donna: You know, actually, maybe it is for the best and then, you could invite Ridge to join you on this line, right? Like you’ve done for years. Three generations of Forresters working on a single line.

Eric: Now, you know what? That’s a really nice sound bite, but it’s not gonna happen. Ridge considers me obsolete, and I don’t want any of that negative energy anywhere near this line. That’s why I’ve decided to do it without him. Instead, I’m doing it with my talented and loyal grandson.

Donna: How are they feeling? The tremors are getting worse?

[ Knocking on door ]

Donna: Oh, Luna, is that you?

Luna: Hey, Donna.

Donna: Thank you for coming. Come this way. Come.

Eric: Oh, nobody saw her leaving Forrester.

Donna: Over here. I’ll put it right on the– hello! Be careful. Be careful. Right here. Uh, Luna, this is Eric Forrester.

Eric: Hello, Luna. It’s, uh, nice to meet you.

Donna: And Eric’s grandson.

Luna: Hi. I’m Luna.

RJ: Hi. I’m RJ.

Brooke: I’m as confused as you are. Ridge?

Ridge: I don’t know. Dad hasn’t been himself lately. And I think it all started with this story about the stapler I threw out because it was old and it was broken. I think he took that metaphor and thought I was talking about him. It couldn’t be further from the truth.

Brooke: Of course not. But I think you’re right. I think he feels like we all think he’s replaceable.

Ridge: And because of that, now he needs to create his own collection by himself?

Brooke: With our son’s help.

Luna: Yeah, of course.

RJ: Hey, um, thank you so much for the delivery, Luna.

Luna: Yeah, of course. And it’s such an honor to meet fashion royalty.

RJ: Imagine being his grandson.

Luna: I, um, I brought all those supplies.

Donna: Thank you. I knew we could count on you, Luna.

Luna: Oh, wow. Uh, your home is– I have never set foot into a more beautiful home, Mr. Forrester.

Eric: Yeah, thank you. And– and call me Eric, okay? Will you, please? And I appreciate you bringing all this stuff. I really do. So, um, you’re our newest intern, right? How long have you been out of fashion school?

Luna: Uh, still finishing up actually.

Eric: The internship program is pretty competitive. And what is it that, uh, set you apart from the others? What do you think?

[ Luna chuckles nervously ]

Donna: Um… okay. Uh, well, I– she was waiting to interview while I was answering phones and I got swamped. Luna offered to help and pitched right in. And– and– and then– then, we had a really nice talk and, uh, I told Cindy down at HR to hire her.

Eric: Mm-hmm. Did you even look at her résumé?

Donna: Uh…

[ Luna chuckles nervously ]

Donna: What can I say? Um… well, she’s– she’s sweet, capable, a good person. When I looked into her eyes, I knew we could trust her.

RJ: Oh, I see the same thing.

Ridge: So, how’s he doing? RJ? Is he– and how is– how’s he doing?

Brooke: Well, we didn’t really get a chance to talk, but he seemed happy.

Ridge: I didn’t mean that. I meant, like, how, you know. How– how’s he doing?

Brooke: You mean his skill? Are you searching for a critique?

Ridge: I’m not searching for anything. I just, I– I’ve– I’ve wanted this for him for so long that I just wanna make sure that I wasn’t wrong about him.

Brooke: Hm. Well, I can tell you this. I walked into that Forrester mansion like I’ve done a thousand times before and I saw him working with Eric, and it reminded me of you and Eric all those years ago, and there was no doubt in my mind that I was staring at Ridge Forrester, Junior.

Ridge: This is what I wanted, right? For so long, I wanted this. I didn’t even know… our son is designing. I just– when he first came back talking about social media and numbers and–

Brooke: I know you didn’t support that.

Ridge: I’m not– it’s not that I didn’t support it. I just didn’t get it. I st– I still don’t get it. I don’t. But designing? I– I understand it and I think he has more talent than any of us. Don’t tell Thomas I said that.

[ Brooke laughing ]

Brooke: You’re such a proud papa. I know you’re happy that both of your boys are following you in your footsteps.

Ridge: The way I followed my dad.

Brooke: Yeah.

Ridge: I am. I’m very happy.

[ Brooke chuckles ]

Brooke: Oh… but I’m sure your head is spinning at the same time because you may be happy that RJ is now designing with your father, but your father is now making a new collection without you.

Luna: This is pretty surreal. I mean, I just started interning at Forrester creations and now I’m at the Forrester estate making personal deliveries for the Eric Forrester. And I’ve been following you online for years.

RJ: Really? Me?

Luna: Yeah, your posts slay.

[ RJ laughs ]

RJ: Thank you.

Luna: Yeah. And your trip to Egypt, were those sunsets like–

RJ: No filters. It’s just stunning there. Seriously. It’s surreal.

Luna: And now you design, too?

RJ: Yeah. Well, you know, someone’s getting me into it, so…

Luna: Oh, well, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to interrupt your creative process here. Oh, wow. That is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. I can only imagine what it would be like to wear something this gorgeous.

Eric: Well, hopefully one day soon, you’ll get the chance. RJ, I want you to take a look at this. Come here. The way this is draping is not what I had in mind. I like it, but, uh… ow, I…

[ Phone chiming ]

Donna: You need to get that?

Luna: I– oh.

Donna: You– you can just take it over there.

Luna: Yeah.

RJ: I mean, we can’t put–

Luna: Hold on.

RJ: …Tennis shoes on her. She has to be in heels.

[ RJ talks indistinctly ]

Luna: I can’t talk. I’m at work.

Woman: In Los Angeles?

Luna: Yes.

Woman: I don’t know what you’re doing.

Luna: Don’t worry about me, okay?

Woman: Just stay away from the Forresters.

Luna: I gotta go.

Woman: Listen to me, Luna. You stay away from the Forresters.

Ridge: Oh, classic Eric Forrester.

Brooke: What do you mean?

Ridge: What do I mean? He gets an idea for something, then he won’t let it go. This whole collection he wants to do? I thought he was gonna maybe forget about it.

Brooke: Certainly seems like he has something to prove.

Ridge: Certainly seems that way. All my life, it’s been like that. All my life. He gets an idea, and then he just, he’s gonna do it. Somebody pushes back, he just keeps pushing harder. And part of me thinks RJ is gonna enjoy it. It’s gonna be good for him to learn some of that, but… it’s not good for Dad. It’s taxing on him.

Brooke: So, are you okay with this?

Ridge: I don’t know. Okay with what? I don’t even know what they’re doing. They’re doing things in secrecy. RJ’s not telling me. They’re doing stuff in– in the– in the living room. I have no idea what they’re doing. They’re creating something. That makes me happy, but… I don’t know if I’m okay with it. But RJ, he’s designing. Maybe not the way I wanted him to, but–

Brooke: But, he is still designing.

Ridge: Yeah! And Forrester’s okay. What, we’re doing okay here. Tell me I’m wrong.

Brooke: Hope For The Future is killing it. And of course, the couture line is as sophisticated and elegant as ever. And the money keeps rolling in from the men’s line, the bedroom line.

Ridge: You know why? Because we have a plan. There’s a plan and that plan doesn’t include my dad doing another line out of nowhere. I want him to be happy. I want him to do whatever he wants to do, but I don’t want him to get sick because of it. Steffy’s gone. How do we do all this?

Brooke: I know. I agree.

Ridge: Wants me to be on my game. He’s coming after me, huh?

Brooke: Yep.

Brooke: Okay. What’s going on in that head of yours, huh?

Ridge: Nothing.

Brooke: Don’t say nothing. I know you. What is it?

Ridge: You know how much I love my dad, how much I respect him. He taught me everything I know. I would be sitting on his lap, and he’d give me a pencil and we’d start designing together. He allowed me to hide under his desk during business meetings. I had a front seat for everything. I’m so grateful. Everything he’s instilled in me.

Brooke: He did build the legacy of Forrester Creations.

Ridge: He did, and I was part of that too. I think, right? I mean, we created some great collections together. But then he wanted to take a break. He wanted me to take over and I did and he passed the baton and that’s good. He hasn’t really worked that much over the past few years, right?

Brooke: He shouldn’t have to.

Ridge: No, he shouldn’t have to. He should relax, take a break. Also, shouldn’t look like I’m trying to push him out because I want complete control. That’s– although complete control sounds kind of good, huh?

Brooke: Now you’re being bad.

Ridge: I know.

[ Brooke chuckles ]

Ridge: Do I think he has another collection in him? Absolutely. The guy never stops designing. That’s all he does. In his head. Do I think it’s good for him? I don’t. He’s telling me to be on my game. I’m not on my game. I’m playing in a whole ‘nother league now. You know why? Because of you. You inspire me. I don’t know what it is, but look. I– I– every– everything I touch, it’s– this is no eraser at all. This is one time, done.

Brooke: Wow.

Ridge: Because of you. You’re doing that. So, I don’t know what they’re doing in their living room. I don’t care. But maybe he needs to step up his game.

[Indistinct conversation]

Eric: I like this. With this– this– this– flows into the pocket, it’s…

[Indistinct conversation]

Donna: I am the same way. It’s always so impressive and inspiring, really, to see great artists at work like this.

Luna: Mm-hmm.

Donna: This line that he is doing, it’s gonna be the most epic achievement of his entire career. I can feel it.

RJ: Like that arm–

Eric: Exactly.

RJ: That’d be great.

Eric: That’s good. That’s exactly right. That’s what I wanted to do. Perfect.

RJ: Okay.

[ RJ laughs ] Hey, um, is she, uh– is she still watching me over there?

Eric: Yeah. Mm-hmm.

RJ: Bet. That– that’s great, ’cause, you know, I’ve never sketched for a couture before, let alone for an audience, so…

Eric: So, this makes you nervous? I mean, you can you bungee off an abandoned bridge, but this makes you nervous? Yeah?

RJ: Yeah.

Donna: Uh, Luna, why don’t we, um, organize the samples over here?

Luna: Okay.

Donna: Yeah? Right this way. Oh, by color scheme.

RJ: Thank you.

[ Eric chuckles ]

Eric: I don’t want you to feel uncomfortable at all in any of this stuff. Designing with me or feeling uncomfortable about being stuck between… between your parents and me.

RJ: No. I don’t. I– really, I don’t, okay? I meant it when I said that I believe in you and I believe in this collection, okay?

Eric: That means a lot to me. You have no idea. I mean, I have the experience, but– but you… you have the technique and– and the expertise to bring it to life. I can’t tell you how much it means to me to be the founder of this company and to have my, well, my son and now, my grandson following in my footsteps. You’re this fine young man. And I tell you what. And the– the tone in your voice and the– the time you spend with me, you’re the anointed one, you know?

[ RJ laughs ]

RJ: The anointed one?

Eric: Yes, the anointed one. Yes. The only child of Ridge and Brooke. A lot comes with that. Observe this. Follow me, learn from me.

RJ: I’ll learn from you.

Eric: Yeah. You’ve brought so much to me. You bring… more energy and– and more focus than I’ve had in my life for a very long time. And I’m gonna use that. I’m gonna use that to bring this– this new collection. This solo collection of Eric Forrester originals to life. And I can’t imagine a better team than us to do it together.

RJ: Come here.

Eric: Yeah. Yeah.

Brooke: Eric, this is amazing that you two are working together and that you got my son interested in design, but I don’t understand the secrecy. Why are you working here when you could be working at the office?

Eric: Brooke, I’m determined to go through with my final collection and this is the way I wanna do it. No one’s gonna stop me. Not even Ridge.

Thomas: You know, I gotta say, your eye, the detail, it’s inspiring.

Ridge: Well, I learned from my dad. And now, you get to learn from me.

Carter: Thank you, Mr. Lombardi. Yes, sales got your pre-order for Ridge’s new couture collection. We appreciate it very much. Yes, I understand your desire for an exclusivity clause. Look, if you’re serious, I need you to increase the offer threefold before I bring it to my team.

[ Quietly ] Yes! That’s great. Yeah, we’ll be in touch. It’s always a pleasure. Ciao.

Katie: Ciao? Ciao? Oh, I love it when you talk business. It’s so sexy. Ridge’s latest collection. Have you seen any of the designs?

Carter: Got a peek at a few.

Katie: Ooh. So have I. I’m kinda blown away. I think this might be his finest collection yet.

Ridge: Well, that works great.

Petra: Sloan and I agree. This collection, you seem more inspired than ever. Could it be because you and Brooke have reunited?

Sloan: Is that your secret, Ridge?

Ridge: All right. Thank you for your work today, ladies.

Thomas: I gotta say, they’re right. You know, I haven’t seen you this motivated or inspired in a while.

Ridge: Well, Brooke has that effect on me.

Brooke: RJ, when your father finds out you’re designing, he’ll be beside himself. But Eric, I don’t understand any of this. What is all this talk about a big, solo collection and Ridge not stopping you?

Eric: I’m determined, Brooke. I’m gonna do this. I have one last collection in me and I’m gonna do it with my grandson. You know, I miss this. I miss… I miss all of this. You know, I need it. The times when I go into the office and I think people don’t see me at all. They don’t see me at all for who– for who I am. And I will not be shelved. Certainly not by my own son.

Katie: Well, I’m not surprised that Ridge is completely on point and it’s a good thing. Couture has always been the backbone of Forrester Creations.

Carter: Yeah. I mean, Hope For The Future, you know…

Katie: Yeah, but we can’t abandon what Forrester Creations has been built on and that’s couture.

Carter: Mm. And all because of Eric. I mean, couture is a reflection of his creativity, his design sensibilities. I can’t imagine this place without him.

Katie: Sure, yeah, I mean, I agree with that, but the passing of the baton has been going on for a while now. I was talking to Brooke and she seems to think that Ridge feels like Eric should take a step back. You know, enjoy his time with Donna.

Carter: Really?

Katie: Mm-hmm.

Carter: He didn’t– he didn’t say that to me. I can’t imagine Eric retiring anytime soon.

Thomas: Seems your muse is working. Petra and the models see it. We all do. And, uh, I gotta say, if what you’re saying is true, that it’s being back together with Brooke that’s creating all of this, well then, I’m all for it and it’s good to know that Forrester’s in great hands.

Ridge: Well, I’m not sure your grandfather agrees.

Thomas: Uh, why would he not?

Ridge: I know he’s proud of me and that means a lot.

Thomas: Well, I can relate to that.

Ridge: But things have been, um… a little complicated.

Thomas: Complicated how?

Ridge: Well, I think your grandfather thinks I wanna push him out of the company.

Eric: Now, Brooke, I thought that Ridge would have opened up to you about this. I mean, since you’re back together again.

Brooke: Opened up about what?

Eric: All of this. The way he’s been talking to me. How he feels about me these days. He’s been talking down to me, he’s been insulting me. Even arrogant. And he’s treating me like some dinosaur.

Brooke: No, Eric, that is not true. You know Ridge. He loves you. He looks up to you. He admires you. Yes, he does. He’s concerned about you. You’ve been working long and hard at this company for so many years. It’s time for you just to relax. Maybe you could just take some time off, take it easy, enjoy yourself, spend some time with Donna. Donna would like that, right, honey?

Donna: I… I want what Eric wants.

Brooke: Okay.

Donna: And right now, that is to create his final collection.

Brooke: Well, I don’t have a problem with that and I appreciate the fact that you brought RJ in on this and RJ, you are learning from the best. That’s for sure. And Eric, why the secrecy? Why? Why leave Ridge out of this? You two have worked together for so long.

Eric: I don’t want him to do it with me. I don’t want that. Now, I know there’s gonna come a time when it’s appropriate for me to… to stop and to give up the reins to somebody else, but not now. Not now. I have one good collection left in me and here it is and I’m gonna do it. It’s gonna be the best collection of my life. It’s mine, nobody else’s. It’s mine.

Carter: Eric’s still a vital, creative part of Forrester Creations.

Katie: Yeah, of course, but I don’t know, maybe Brooke is right. Eric should step away from all that responsibility and just enjoy himself.

Carter: That sounds like retirement to me and that’s the furthest thing from Eric’s mind. No, no, no. Plus, we still need him here.

Katie: Okay, you’re right, but playing devil’s advocate, Eric can’t go on designing forever and there’s a whole generation of Forresters waiting in the wings. You know, you’ve got Ridge, of course, and then Thomas, Steffy, Zende, maybe even RJ. I just– I hope they have a very comprehensive succession plan in place. I mean, not just for the sake of the company, but for Eric and Ridge’s relationship as father and son.

Thomas: No, Dad. I actually have a hard time thinking that Granddad would ever believe you’re trying to make him obsolete.

Ridge: I have a hard time with that too, son, but, um, we’ve just had some strange exchanges lately.

Thomas: Okay, like, creative differences? You didn’t start arguing?

Ridge: No. It’s not even that. It’s not even creative ’cause we don’t work together. It’s been years since we worked together. Maybe we should. Maybe that would help. I don’t know. It wasn’t about that. It was… we were just talking, you know, and I said maybe it’s time for you to step back from this great thing that you’ve built. He built this for all of us, right? It’s amazing and you’ve– you’ve put in so much work and it was hard and now, maybe it’s time for you to take a break. You know what I’m saying. I mean, look, you just said, I’m okay running this. My great son has said I’m okay doing this by myself.

Thomas: 100%. But, I mean, it’s not like I don’t understand a little bit of where Granddad is coming from ’cause, I mean, this is– this is his creation, right? Like, it feels like an extension of himself.

Ridge: Yeah.

Thomas: What?

Ridge: I don’t know. You think you know somebody. Hm. Some good times in here, huh? Being a kid climbing all over this thing.

Thomas: [ Chuckles ] Yeah.

Ridge: But I don’t– I don’t know if you remember, but Dad had a stapler on his desk. 20 years ago, at least.

Thomas: Okay.

Ridge: And somebody threw it out. I don’t know if it was me. I don’t know. I don’t remember. But apparently, it, uh, it meant a lot to him.

Thomas: Wow, I mean, that’s– that’s, uh, that’s too bad.

Ridge: Yeah. Yeah, what’s too bad is that he doesn’t think that I threw out his stapler because it was broken. He– he thinks it’s me telling him he shouldn’t be working anymore.

Thomas: Wow. I– I– I don’t know. I guess I have a hard time understanding that.

Ridge: Me too, but here we are. You know, all I want is for my father to– to enjoy these years, to be happy, to go do stuff and you know what? Truth be told, I’m running this place. I’m running it because he asked me to.

Brooke: I’m not really following this. You’re saying that you want this line to be entirely yours, but you’re having RJ work on it with you, so why not have Ridge’s help too?

Eric: I don’t want Ridge’s help. I don’t want him to do it with me. I don’t want Ridge to be with me and start shoving me aside.

Brooke: Oh, Eric. That’s not what he’s doing.

Eric: That is what he’s doing, Brooke! That is what he’s doing! Now, when I started this business, when I started Forrester Creations, every collection was me alone. My first one and collection after collection, me alone by myself and I’m gonna do it again. Ridge needs to be at the top of his game and you tell him that. You tell him that because I’m coming for him.

Thomas: [ Chuckles ] Remember those words, Dad, because one day, it’ll be time for you to step down.

Ridge: Hm. I know. It’s gonna be a tough day. It’s gonna be hard. I’m gonna be sad, but then I’m gonna see you standing there to takeover and it’s gonna make me happy.

Thomas: I don’t know. I mean, it– I think Steffy already beat me to that.

[ Thomas laughing ]

Ridge: That’s what she’s thinking. Hey. I’m proud of you kids. You worked hard, really hard. And so did your granddad. Look at what he did. Look what he built for us. We get to play and– and make things because of what he did for years and years. We got to drive nice cars, wear nice suits. And I wanna be respectful, I do, but right now, this is my vision. As long as I’m here, the future of this company is what I want.

Donna: I love how passionate you are about all of this and I’m behind you 100%, but getting all worked up like this is really not good for you.

Eric: Yeah.

Donna: All this tension with you and Ridge, and you. I– I don’t want to see you stuck in the middle like this.

Eric: Is that how you feel? RJ, you feel stuck in the middle? Do you believe in me and this collection that we’re collaborating on?

RJ: Granddad, of course I believe in you. You think I’d be here if I didn’t absolutely believe in you? I love working with you. I think your designs, they’re gonna blow my dad out of the water.

Eric: Our designs. Come here. Come here.

Ridge: Ha.

Brooke: Sorry for interrupting.

Ridge: You’re not interrupting. Not when you’re bringing all this into the office. Did you go over to Dad’s? Did you get to talk to Donna?

Brooke: Your father was there and our son was there.

Ridge: RJ was there. Okay.

Brooke: Mm-hmm. You know how we thought our son might be seeing a young lady because he was disappearing so much?

Ridge: Yeah, was she there? Is she nice?

Brooke: Well, no. It turns out it’s nothing like that.

Ridge: I’m lost. I don’t know what you’re talking about.

Brooke: Well, you’re actually gonna be really happy about this. RJ is designing.

Ridge: He’s designing?

Brooke: With your father.

Ridge: That is amazing! That’s all I ever wanted. I– I knew it was gonna happen eventually, I just didn’t– how am I just hearing about this now?

Brooke: Well, I– I just found out myself. I went over there and walked into the Forrester mansion and in the living room, it’s turned into a design studio and Eric was there and RJ and Donna and Eric’s working on his last collection. His grand finale and he seems really determined. He told me to tell you that you better step up your game. He’s coming after you.

Eric: We’re gonna show Ridge and the rest of the world that I’ve still got it. You know, RJ, when– when– when your grandmother, Stephanie, and I started this company, we wanted to create a fashion business that would be a legacy for our kids and our grandkids, and we did that. We did that and then, one day, I would step aside, but you know what? I’m not ready yet. It’s time for Ridge and everybody else to realize that Eric Forrester can’t be put out to pasture. He cannot be replaced. Not yet. The best is yet to come.

Recap written by Suzanne

Ridge and Brooke make out in the office. She worries about Hope and Liam. He jokes that she reminds him of Stephanie and says that they’re grownups and will figure it out. She wonders why RJ hasn’t been around much. Ridge thinks he might have a girlfriend. Ridge asks Brooke to visit Donna and get her to convince Eric to enjoy his retirement, so Brooke agrees.

Thomas brings Carter a coffee. Carter tells him how proud Ridge is of his work and how he’s changed. Carter wonders if having RJ come back was tough for him, but Thomas assures him that they get along fine. Thomas doesn’t think RJ has much interest in the family business. Thomas then visits Ridge and looks at his latest designs. He tells Ridge that he would like to collaborate more with him, to learn more from him. Ridge is happy to hear that.

Eric and RJ work on their designs for Eric’s last collection. Donna brings them snacks and flirts with Eric. Eric plays a little on the piano, and tells them that it gives him creative ideas (plus his therapist told him that it’s good for the arthritis in his hands). Brooke drops by and is shocked to see them designing. She’s happy to hear that RJ is designing, and working with Eric, but she wonders why they’re working there instead of at Forrester. Eric tells her they want privacy because they’re designing a new line together. He declares that no one is going to stop him — not even Ridge.

Eric: This is nice. It’s very promising, I like how the fabric drapes behind– behind her shoulders.

RJ: I’m trying something different. I’m not– I’m not sure about it, honestly.

Eric: Come on, your instincts are good. You’re a Forrester, right? Heh, this feeds you, doesn’t it?

RJ: This does feel oddly familiar, I will say that. It’s exciting. It is.

Eric: Okay.

RJ: I didn’t know what I was getting into when I agreed to help you, that’s for sure.

Eric: Well, design is in your blood. It courses through your veins the way it does through mine, and through your father’s, too. Design is the heartbeat of Forrester.

RJ: You’ve taught me a lot, Granddad.

Eric: You know, this is good. This is gonna be my last– my last collection. It is my grand finale. And because we’re doing it together… we’re gonna learn from each other.

[ Brooke, Ridge moaning ]

Ridge: How did i get this lucky?

Brooke: Lucky?

Ridge: Well, I mean, it’s not luck, maybe, it’s, uh– maybe, it’s fate.

Brooke: I think I’d call it destiny.

Ridge: Really?

Brooke: Mm-hmm.

Ridge: You can call it whatever you want.

Brooke: Ah, I just– I wish everybody could be this lucky.

Ridge: How about Hope and Liam?

Brooke: Yeah. My daughter made some choices that destroyed her marriage. Her involvement with Thomas. I don’t want her to live with regrets, you know? I just want to be able to help her, to do something about it.

Ridge: You want to do something about it?

Brooke: Yes.

Ridge: I see, may i remind you, uh, my mother liked to do things about other people’s love life. And that didn’t really work so well.

Brooke: Oh, wow. Are you comparing me to Stephanie?

Ridge: No. I– I’m–

Brooke: Okay. Wait, you know what? I’ll take that as a compliment. But from the latter years.

Ridge: Okay.

[ Brooke humming ]

Ridge: Hope, Thomas and Liam are grown-ups. They’ll figure it out.

Brooke: Oh, yes. I certainly hope they will.

[ Door clicks open ]

Thomas: There he is. You got me yesterday, so I had to get you back.

Carter: Thank you, sir.

Thomas: Is that still the Paris contract?

Carter: Yeah, yeah, we’re stuck on this one small point, but I’m not backing down.

Thomas: Well, I will say, we do appreciate that.

Carter: You know, you’re to blame for all of my stress.

Thomas: Great. Okay.

Carter: If Hope For The Future weren’t a success, this partnership wouldn’t be happening.

Thomas: Nah.

Carter: You’re killing it with the line, my friend.

Thomas: Well, thank you. I actually, am kind of proud of myself.

Carter: You should be. And Ridge is proud of you, too.

Carter: I mean it, man. Ridge is very proud of you. When he’s talking to the buyers, and the press, you can see it radiating out of him. You know, Thomas Forrester, chip off the old block, taking on the family legacy. And I make fun of him for it, I do, because he comes in, most of the time, all grumpy, but when he talks about you, he gets puffed up.

Thomas: [ Chuckling ] Well, um, thank you for telling me that, it means a lot. Especially knowing how close you are to my dad.

Carter: Yeah, I know, it must have been tough trying to regain his trust after what happened.

Thomas: It was, but I’m so grateful that he was able to see past all that, see that I was really putting in the work to change.

Carter: It must have been twice as hard to put in that work when RJ came back. Him being Brooke’s son and all.

Ridge: Haven’t seen much of RJ lately.

Brooke: Mm, actually, no, I haven’t, now that you’ve mentioned it. I mean, we’re usually, going to bed, and he gets home later, and then, when we wake up and go to work, he’s still sleeping, so… my– I haven’t wanted to pry. Do you think we should be worried?

Ridge: Worried about what? Attractive, charming young man who gets up late, and comes home when he wants to? Sounds, uh, like there’s a lady involved.

Brooke: Ah.

Eric: Nice, this is very nice. Try to, uh, put flare on the other side as well.

RJ: Other side?

Eric: Yes. Yeah, that’s nice, right?

RJ: Yeah.

Eric: What do you think?

RJ: Oh, wow! Yeah, just like, that one tiny little adjustment, and the whole dress comes to life.

Eric: Yeah.

RJ: I mean, a second ago, it was just a couple lines, and now, it–

Eric: Sings, right?

RJ: Yeah.

Eric: It’s like music, you can hear it. Now get– there’s a beat, you know, it has its own– gets its own heartbeat going. I mean it. It moves.

RJ: [ Laughing ] I could see that.

Eric: Look, look. That’s the way it is, right? It’s very simple. It– just to be simple and elegant, it– it– she wears the dress, not the other way around. Now, let me see, turn it around. Let me see. Yeah, she’s not singing yet. I can hear what key it’s in. But it’s a work in progress, that’s what it is.

Donna: There’s my honey bear.

Eric: Hey.

Donna: Creating something beautiful, no doubt.

RJ: Hi, Aunt Donna. Good to see you.

Donna: Hi.

Eric: And?

Donna: I love seeing you like this, just so happy and vibrant. Completely in your element, huh?

Eric: Yeah, hi. I can attribute a lot of that to my wonderful grandson.

[ Eric, Donna chuckles ]

Thomas: RJ and I actually are– we’re cool. Like, we’ve had a really good relationship.

Carter: That’s good, man. That’s good, family dynamics, they could be complicated.

Thomas: Oh, yeah. Especially that one. With everything that’s happened, the times that I’ve hurt Hope, and Steff and I trying to get our family back together, just– yeah.

Carter: I’m glad that everything is copacetic. Can’t imagine how it would have been for Ridge, with his two sons warring against each other.

Thomas: But you know what? We’re all Forresters, right? We stick together.

Ridge: I really believe that RJ could be the greatest designer in this family. But he’s not interested.

Brooke: Maybe his mind is elsewhere. On a mystery girl.

Ridge: Why’s– why? With girls, always girls. Why is that, you know, they take your money, they want to drive your cars, and they don’t know how, and it’s– als– also, they can be a great inspiration.

Brooke: Speaking from experience.

Ridge: Yes, because my greatest inspiration is standing right in front of me.

Brooke: [ Chuckles ] Good one. You know, maybe Eric can talk to RJ, because you said so yourself, they have a very special bond, special relationship.

Ridge: They do, he could be a great mentor for him, right? Could teach him all this. I think it’d be great for both of them. But my dad is in a– in a very strange place right now. Can I ask you a favor?

Brooke: Of course.

Ridge: Can you talk to Donna, and just… [ Sighs ] have her remind him that this is a time in his life when he really should have fun, and– and– I don’t know, travel, do whatever he needs to do, because this, the stress of this company, I’ve got it covered.

Donna: And look at this room. It– it literally, looks like a– a design studio, I mean, there’s– there’s just so much creativity going on here.

Eric: Yeah.

Donna: I love it.

Eric: Good. I’m glad. Come here. Did you get the art supplies I wanted?

Donna: Oh, yeah. Everything’s taken care of.

Eric: Yeah.

Donna: I’m having it brought over from the office.

Eric: No, no, no, I want to keep this, uh– all of this, un– under the radar, I do. Uh, who did you get to bring it over?

Donna: The new intern. You know, the– the sweet one, with the cute little giggle? Now, don’t– don’t worry, don’t– don’t worry, I was there for her interview, and she knows how to handle this. And she knows how to be discreet.

Eric: Okay. I trust you. Donna, this is very important to me.

Donna: I know. I know. And I love seeing you like this, so– so vibrant. It’s like you’re on fire!

Eric: Yeah, well, you’re my inspiration, you are. Make no mistake. You are my muse.  Now, come on, get out of here, I gotta work.

Donna: Okay, okay, I’ll let you two get back at it, but…

Eric: Thank you.

Donna: …Save some of that fire for me, okay?

Eric: Always. Always.

Donna: Have fun, boys.

Eric: All right, come on, let’s get it going. We got a collection to create here. Gonna be the finest collection in my career.

Carter: Appreciate the coffee, man, I needed it.

Thomas: Of course, I owed ya.

Carter: Ah, I should get back to this.

Thomas: No, you’re right. Me, too.

Carter: I’m curious. I know your dad would love it. Has RJ talked about design, or the business?

Thomas: I– I had a short conversation with him when he came back, and– and I told him if he ever wanted to get into design, or anything, he could– I’d help him, any way I could. He could follow me around, whatever it was, and– though, honestly, I just– I don’t see him picking up the– the pencil the same way that, you know, Dad, Granddad, Zende and I have.

Carter: All you guys, mentored by the great Eric Forrester. You know, it’s hard to think of it. Do you have any insight how it might go when Eric eventually steps down?

Thomas: I have no idea. I mean, look, Steffy’s killing it as a CEO. And Zende, Dad and I really have the design front covered. I don’t know, but that– that’s what Granddad wanted, right? That’s the future of Forrester Creations.

Ridge: My dad is an icon in the fashion industry. We all know that. But he’s worked hard enough, right?

Brooke: I know Donna would like to spend more time with him.

Ridge: Hmm, yeah, if anybody can keep him young, it’s your sister. I don’t know how she does it, I don’t want to know, I don’t need to see that.

Brooke: Regardless, she loves him very much.

Ridge: And very often. Which is good, and they should travel. See the world, enjoy his fame, everywhere he goes. We’re fine here. Couture’s doing great, Hope For The Future with Zende, Thomas and Hope, they got it covered, Bedroom line, it’s all good. Tell him to go and take it easy.

Brooke: Yes, I agree with you. You know, I was gonna see Donna today anyway, so I should just head over there. Have a chat with her, and convince her that Eric should just enjoy his life. Right?

Ridge: Thank you.

Brooke: Mm, of course.

Both: I love you.

[ Piano playing ]

Donna: Thought you both could use some fuel.

Eric: I have everything I need right here.

Donna: I love it when you play.

Eric: [ Laughs ] That’s good. It’s a good thing. And I love it, too. You know, I have to have this. My therapist says it’s good for my hands to play. And it’s a good thing, because if I didn’t have music, I wouldn’t be able to create anything. I have– half the time, I’ll be playing a beautiful melody, and I’ll get it– I’ll get an idea in my head, and I– I can’t wait to get it on paper. I hope it’s the same thing for you.

RJ: Yeah.

Eric: Listen, my love, why don’t you make us a few martinis later, all right? And we’ll, uh– we’ll toast to our new line, and the success of our new line.

RJ: You want to do that while we’re working?

Eric: No, no, no.

RJ: No.

Eric: No, we’ll do it after we’re working at it. That’s the Forrester tradition, right?

Donna: [ Laughs ] Oh! I almost forgot. Um, Prince Albert’s office called. And, um, the Royal Family would like to have you there for their event.

Eric: We can’t do that, we can’t accept that. He will understand, we have a collection to put out. He’d be very excited to hear that, all right?

Donna: Okay.

Eric: Okay, so, uh– it would be nice to see you in one of those gowns over there.

RJ: Right, yeah, you’d absolutely kill it in this one.

Eric: Yes, you would, you’d kill in that.

Donna: Okay, okay.  Thank you. You know, I think I need to wander through this design studio more often, because it’s– it’s good for my ego.

Eric: Oh, good, well, it’s only the truth, but I want it to be a surprise. I don’t want you to see all this, I want this to be a surprise for you, and for everybody in the world. Especially Ridge. For them to see this collection, that my grandson and I have done.

Thomas: Hey, there’s my father, the world-renowned designer.

Ridge: Flattery will get you everywhere.

Thomas: Can I check that out?

Ridge: Yeah, sure, go ahead.

Thomas: Wow, this, um– that’s beautiful, are– are you gonna use the blue chiffon, or– or– this is beautiful.

Ridge: I’m gonna use both those things, I want to feel like it’s moving, like water.

Thomas: Any woman would be ecstatic to wear this.

Ridge: Well, thank you, Thomas.

Thomas: No, thank you, uh, I– I want to tell you just how grateful I am, you letting me come back here, work here again, and just can’t express how fortunate and lucky I am, to work under you.

Ridge: Luck has nothing to do with it, you have passion, and designer blood running through your veins.

Thomas: [ Laughs ] Thank you. Um, it’s funny, actually, I was just talking with Carter, and he seems to think that, um, RJ doesn’t really share that passion.

Ridge: W– well, maybe not yet. He’ll, uh– find his calling soon enough, but right now, we’re talking about you, right? I’m so proud of you. The designer you are, and the man you’ve become, I really am, come here.

Thomas: [ Chuckles ] Thanks, Dad. You know, um, I wanted to say, like, I– I’ve had so much fun, obviously, working on Hope For The Future, but well, I think I’d like to collaborate with you more. Think I still have a lot to learn.

Ridge: Really?

Thomas: Yeah.

Ridge: I would love that. The way that I learned from my dad.

Thomas: Right.

Ridge: You know, talking about my dad, I don’t know, Brooke and I were a little worried about him. All I want’s for him to step away, and– and enjoy himself, you know, because… this company, I– I think we have it covered without him. Don’t you?

Eric: Yeah. Yeah?

RJ: [ Chuckles ] Wow. All this came from, what? You noodling around on the piano?

Eric: Well, I like to think of it as a little more sophisticated, than “noodling”. It’s a Rachmaninov tune, you know? I like to think, also, that– that this version I get from that music is– it’s the way that a woman who buys this dress, and puts it on, is gonna be as inspired by the magic as I was.

Donna: That is so beautiful.

RJ: It’s amazing.

Eric: Yes.

Eric: This is good, right? Now, you started with this, and then, I didn’t like it. Then, you’d– you’d– you convinced me.

RJ: But actually, it works.

Eric: It’s good, I like it.

RJ: It solves the problems that we were talking about, I think.

Eric: One of them, so–

Brooke: What’s going on here?

Donna: Brooke! Uh, well– when– when did you get in?

Brooke: RJ, are you designing?

RJ: Yes.

Brooke: What? That is fantastic!

Eric: Actually, my grandson’s helping me. We’re designing together.

Brooke: Well, that’s even better! Ridge is going to be so excited. But why are you doing it here, and not in the office?

Eric: We wanted some privacy.

Brooke: Privacy? Eric, we’ve always all worked together on these things. Why would you want privacy? Just tell me what is going on.

Eric: I’m doing a solo line, Brooke.

Brooke: But Ridge is head of Couture. He’s running the company.

Eric: And I’m Eric Forrester. I’m designing a new line with my grandson. No one’s gonna stop me. Not even Ridge.

[ Relaxing music ]

RJ: How come no one’s told me?

Ridge: We’re telling you now.

RJ: So, Steffy’s just– she’s just left? She’s just up and left?

Brooke: With her children. She’s protecting them the best way she knows how.

RJ: It’s just so sudden.

Ridge: It is, yep. She told me last night, she was going to the airport and… meeting Taylor, she’s gonna help with the kids.

Brooke: So as much as she loves Finn, she just can’t be with him right now. It’s not safe.

RJ: And all of this is because of Sheila.

Li: Oh, oh, I feel so terrible for you, Finn. What, she just took the kids and left?

Finn: Well, I mean, uh, we– we talked first, you know, she didn’t take them without me knowing. I was able to say goodbye. But, um, yeah, I mean, this is what she feels is safest, is taking the kids overseas.

Li: This is exactly what I was afraid of. Sheila interfering in your marriage.

Liam: Ah. So, good trip?

Bill: Yeah, yeah, you know, it, uh, recharged me. I mean, it’s not like I was totally off the grid, with a– with a knapsack and a solar shower.

Wyatt: What? Hey, hey, hey.

Bill: I was on the Stella Maris, where, by the way, there is every communication device known to mankind. I also had something with me called a cell ph–

Liam: Uh.

Bill: Would have been nice if you called to let me know what was going on with you.

Liam: Yeah. I know. I’m sorry, I just–

Bill: No, no, no. You– you don’t need to apologize. Marriages are tough, son. I am sorry to hear that yours seems to be coming to an end. I still can’t believe she kissed Thomas.

Wyatt: You’re not the only one.

Bill: Look, as, uh, someone who has made a mistake or two hurting the woman that I loved, gotta ask you. Any chance you can forgive Hope? Get past this?

RJ: Well, yeah. Yeah, it makes sense why Steffy would leave so quickly, considering Sheila just showed up at her door. That would freak her out. Freaked me out.

Ridge: Yep. And she was just about to move back into her house. Not that that’s something I agreed with, I know you didn’t.

Brooke: No!

Ridge: But it’s what she wanted to do.

Brooke: But, uh–

Ridge: Um, wanted to put her family back together.

Brooke: It’s– it’s hard for me to believe that Sheila is demanding to be part of the family, yet again.

RJ: And then, of course, Steffy felt like she had no choice but to leave town.

Brooke: Well, wasn’t the ideal situation, but it had to be done. The thing that’s important is that Steffy and Kelly and Hayes are safe.

Ridge: Yes, let’s look at the bright side of this, right? They’re in Rome. That means we gotta go visit.

Brooke: Okay.

Ridge: All the time.

RJ: Defin– we are definitely going to visit them, yes.

Ridge: All right. Gonna tell Dad. He’s been really lucid these days, did you feel that? Have you talked to him?

RJ: Um… yes. Yeah. I– I have talked to him. I, um… I’m– I’m a little worried about him, honestly. But I think you can help.

Finn: It’s beyond frustrating. I mean, Steffy, she was finally ready to come home. That’s what she came here to tell me.

Li: What happened?

Finn: Sheila! Sheila happened. She showed up out of nowhere and Steffy freaked out.

Li: You blame her?

Finn: Blame her? No, I don’t blame her. Okay? I get it. But I’m not gonna allow anyone to come between Steffy and me.

Li: Including Sheila?

Finn: Absolutely. Sheila, I mean, she’s the reason for all of this. But Liam, too.

Bill: You and hope have built quite a life. A family together. Take it from me, that kind of love runs deep.

Liam: Yeah, no, of course. I mean, that’s the thing, right? I’ll– I’ll always love Hope, which is why this is… so hard. Honestly, it– if it were anyone but Thomas.

Bill: I get it.

Wyatt: Yeah, but I mean, that’s not the only reason why Liam can’t forgive hope. Am I right? Liam has another woman that he loves. Another woman he has a child with.

Liam: Um…

Ridge: What do you– what do you mean, there’s– there’s something wrong with Granddad and I can’t help? What are you talking about?

RJ: Um… well, I– you know how he’s working on a new line?

Ridge: That’s what this is about? The new line? Listen, my dad, he is an ideas guy. He comes up with stuff. But he should know better than anyone that you can’t just start a line in the middle of the year, when we’re workin’ hard. Not just on couture and hope for the future, but Brooke’s bedroom line. There’s hundreds, thousands of man hours. You can’t just start something over.

RJ: I know.

Ridge: And that’s what I was saying to him. I said, “Listen, you just– you need to relax, and enjoy yourself. Play golf, play pickleball with Donna, I don’t know.”

RJ: Dad, don’t you think that’s incredibly insulting to a man who is as vital and– and capable as Granddad?

Li: You still think Liam is–

Finn: Mom, look. First and foremost, I take full responsibility for some of the issues that Steffy and I have been having lately.

Li: You mean by embracing Sheila and calling her “Mom?” Still don’t know what you were thinking, Finn.

Finn: I don’t know. I– I was– I was stupid, but look, I’ve repeatedly apologized to Steffy and assured her that Sheila will never have a part of our lives.

Li: And right on cue, Sheila shows up.

Finn: Yeah.

Li: So, all that’s happening and what? You think Liam is seeing this as an opportunity? Finn, you have enough to deal with than blaming Liam for–

Finn: Look, I am not making this up. I’ve had a few run-ins with Liam recently. And he admitted, to my face, that he still loves Steffy and he wants her back. My wife! He says that they have some sort of history that I’ll never understand.

Li: Who the hell does he think he is?

Bill: So, yes. I was working remotely for a while, and in my absence, I expected you guys to keep this place running smoothly. Now, I return to find that your marriage is coming to an end and your brother has been playing the sounding board for your misery. Do I have to remind you both that there was a business to run?

Wyatt: I– I thought we did good job at the end.

Bill: And you both did a phenomenal job. So much so that, uh, you know, maybe I could do this every once in a while.

Wyatt: Hey, now that you’re here, um, maybe– maybe I could work from the Stella Maris.

Bill: Or not.

Wyatt: Okay. Fair enough.

Bill: So, your feelings for Steffy have been reignited?

Wyatt: Ah, I don’t think they ever went out.

Bill: Well, you have always felt connected to her, you share quite a history, not to mention a daughter. And for a long time, you were the great loves of each other’s lives.

Liam: I mean, yeah, I– I never thought I’d have another chance with Steffy. We both kind of just moved on.

Bill: And now Hope has moved on with Thomas?

Liam: Yeah, I don’t know what’s happening with those two right now, and frankly, the less I know, the better, but I– I admit it, I’m– I’m… thinking about Steffy a lot lately, and, um, Sheila has definitely driven a wedge between her and Finn, so much so that, uh, Steffy came to see me here. She told me she’s leaving L.A.

Wyatt and Bill: Because of Sheila.

Liam: Steffy feels that, uh, she– she just can’t keep herself and– and the kids safe, as long as Sheila feels entitled to this– this relationship with Finn and I don’t know how she could re-commit to Finn, knowing that Sheila’s just, you know, out there. Ready to strike at any moment.

RJ: Granddad founded this entire company with grandma. I think, because of that, he should be able to do whatever he wants, right?

Ridge: Yeah, easy. RJ, eas– easy. No one’s trying to put your granddad on the shelf, that’s not what we’re doing. We’re trying to protect him and this company.

RJ: I don’t think that Granddad sees it that way.

Ridge: Ah, Brooke, help me. I don’t know what to–

Brooke: Okay, wait. I think what your father’s trying to say is that nobody deserves to relax and enjoy life more than Eric does.

Ridge: Yeah. Good. That’s exactly right.

Brooke: Yeah.

Ridge: It’s very sweet, he’s trying to protect him, though, right? It’s really nice. We got this covered. Everything’s gonna be okay. I promise you.

Li: Seriously. The gall of this guy. How can Liam stand there and say he wants Steffy back?

Finn: Yeah, well, it’s not happening. Steffy and I have a family. We’ve built a life. She’s my wife.

Bill: I cannot believe that soft judge let Sheila off on a technicality.

Wyatt: Dad, you did everything you could, right? Your– your heart and your mind were both in the right place, even if they were cozied up with Sheila.

[Liam snickering]

Bill: Really, Wyatt?

Wyatt: Sorry.

Bill: Seriously? You want– you want me just to throw up on– on the table here?

Wyatt: We got wipes.

Bill: Now, let me tell you something. Yes, I used my contacts at the agency to fast track some things and cut some corners, but that’s how it gets done in the real world and I’ve done it quite successfully.

Liam: Bottom line– bottom line… we all want Sheila locked up again. And hopefully, soon, Steffy and the kids will be able to return.

Bill: And that’s when you Hope to start your life with her again.

Brooke: It’s moments like those that makes me feel like we must have done something right as parents.

Ridge: Oh, A, absolutely, and B, I’m not sure what you’re talking about.

[ Brooke chuckles ]

Brooke: I am talking about our sweet son, RJ. How concerned he was for Steffy and the kids. And how he feels about Eric, how he just wants him to be happy. So sweet.

Ridge: Yeah.

Brooke: But?

Ridge: But I don’t know, I– I’M… what if there’s more to what RJ was saying?

[ Brooke chuckles ]

[ Eric grunts ]

[ Eric grunts ]

RJ: Hey, there’s Granddad!

Eric: Hey, how you doing?

RJ: How are you? Oh, hey, is the, uh, is the hand cooperating a little more today?

Eric: Uh, hardly. Every time I try to draw, I just– I just can’t, I’d– I tried to use the tablet, but I can’t remember that– the password, you know.

RJ: Well, I got you… your very own dedicated one. Eric Forrester only. I set it up just like mine, and I’ll help you, uh, sync our designs so that we can see each other’s changes.

Eric: Very thoughtful.

RJ: Eh, well, you know. I put it on the company card.

[ Both chuckle ]

Eric: And resourceful. Thank you.

[ Eric sighing ]

RJ: What? What is it? What’s goin’ on?

Eric: Nah, it’s just– it’s the same thing. Every time I pick up a pencil and to try to put something down on paper, I just can’t. It hurts too mu– I can’t do it.

RJ: Granddad, listen. I know that this is tough for you, but like you said, nobody dares count out the great Eric Forrester. And I’m here for you. I’m here for you to help in any way that you need, okay? We are gonna get your new line down. Together.

Li: They have history? Well, so do you and Steffy. You both almost died and then fought like hell to reunite, halfway around the world. Doesn’t Liam realize what you went through to get back together? Does he have no honor?

Finn: First thing he did when he saw Sheila and me embrace, which I know was wrong, pulls out his phone, records me, and runs straight to Steffy to show her.

Li: Says a lot. But… he is not you. Even though you were vulnerable to Sheila, it shows your compassion, loving spirit. But you’re also strong and determined.

Finn: Who else does that sound like?

Li: I know you won’t let Sheila, or Liam, break up your marriage and family.

Liam: I just want to be perfectly clear here. I never set out to break up Steffy and Finn’s marriage.

Bill: Sounds like Finn’s doing a good job of that all on his own, embracing that psycho birthmother of his.

Wyatt: Yep, see? That’s what I’ve been saying. Dude, you have no reason to feel guilty about anything, all right? You b– you were trying to protect your family and keep your loved ones safe.

Liam: Well, thanks for the support. I– I appreciate you guys, and– and honestly, you know, I’m– I’m not gonna pretend my– my feelings for Steffy don’t exist, especially given the history we share, the daughter we share. But at this point, you know, my– my priority right now is– is Steffy’s happiness and– and her safety. It’s just… you know, I– I… I’d be a fool not to… jump at another chance with her if it came up, because… I do love Steffy. Too much.

Brooke: Mm, oh!

Ridge: All right. Let me see it. I showed you mine.

[ Brooke gasping ]

Brooke: You did?

Ridge: No, hey! Wedding dress.

Brooke: Oh, okay.

Ridge: I wanna see it, let me see it.

Brooke: Hang on. The buildup is part of the fun, right? I can’t wait to surprise you this time.

Ridge: You always surprise me. Your zest for life. Your positive way of looking at the world. I wish my dad could take a page out of your book.

Brooke: Well, like you said to RJ, everything is going to be okay.

Ridge: You think so?

Brooke: Yeah.

Ridge: Should always listen to you, huh?

[ Brooke chuckling ]

Eric: You’re a good kid, RJ. I appreciate your help so much, I do. But I can’t– I can’t, uh… I can’t draw.

RJ: No! And it sucks, but Granddad, it’s the only problem, right? I– I mean, you can still– you can still walk, you can still talk. And you can still play the piano, I mean, hey. God knows you can knock back the martinis, yes? Granddad, listen to me. This is your Everest right now, okay? And unlike countless other people that have tried to scale the summit, and they’ve failed, you have succeeded. And you’ve done it countless times. I– I know that this– it– it– it’s driving you nuts, and I feel for you, I do, but it’s just proving that you still have passion. So, let’s channel it! I am– I am here for you, to help you in any way that you need, but you need to believe that this is not game over. You were one of the most iconic figures in fashion history, ever. And you aren’t ready to retire. You’re– you’re brimming, full of great ideas, so let’s take those ideas and let’s bring ’em to life. Together. Don’t– don’t listen to what my dad said.

Eric: Okay.

RJ: Yeah? Come here.

Eric: Come here, you come here. Yeah. Good boy, thank you. Thank you.

[ Brooke chuckles ]

Brooke: Okay, back to work. Come on.

Ridge: Okay.

Brooke: Hmm.

Ridge: Here.

Brooke: Oh. Thank you.

Finn: Hey, everything is going to be okay, all right? Sheila’s gone. I was clear that I don’t want to see her, ever again.  She’s not gonna be a part of our lives.

Steffy: You’re her son, and in her sick, twisted mind, she thinks she loves you.

Finn: No.

Steffy: She’s never gonna let you go.

Finn: She doesn’t have a choice.

Steffy: No, Finn.  You won’t have a choice. She won’t let you. But I do. I have a choice. I’ve made a decision. I love you, Finn… but I can’t– I can’t put up with this.

Finn: Put up with what? Steffy, whoa, whoa, whoa. What are you saying?

Wyatt: I mean, I still can’t believe that Steffy is packing up the kids and moving back in with Finn. I mean, I know she can’t stay at Eric’s forever, but–

Liam: But Sheila is and always will be a threat.

Deacon: So, you’re still holding onto hope that you and Finn can have a relationship?

Sheila: Finn is a part of me and I’m not gonna let that go.

Ridge: I don’t care what you did with Sheila in the past, what you plan to do with her in the future. What I care about is my daughter’s safety.

Sheila: And I’m not gonna let that go.

Ridge: If anything happens to my kids or my grandkids, I will make you pay.

Deacon: You okay?

Sheila: I don’t seem okay?

Deacon: Not really. I know you went to go see Finn. What happened?

Sheila: Steffy happened.

Deacon: Wait a second. You went to the cliff house and Steffy was there?

Sheila: Look, I– I don’t even know what she was doing there. I mean, she walked out. She– she took the kids and she left Finn.

Deacon: Yeah, well, Steffy moved back.

Sheila: How did you know that?

Deacon: How do I know that? Because carter and ridge came to visit me. Twice. They told me that Steffy is moving back with Finn.

Sheila: They felt the need to tell you this why?

Deacon: Why? Because they suspect that I might have had contact with you. And they’re worried that you might do something to hurt Steffy. Sheila, please tell me you didn’t do anything to Steffy.

Sheila: Steffy just loves to play the victim, doesn’t she? She acts all scared and vulnerable. This is so calculated. She uses this to control Finn. She has done nothing but try and poison my son against me.

Liam: Sheila should be spending the rest of her life behind bars.

Wyatt: Yeah. Dad’s plan really did backfire, huh?

Liam: Yeah. Now, we’re all back to just… waiting around, you know, for Sheila to make a move. Something that maybe, hopefully, might put her back in jail? Steffy should have stayed at Eric’s. It’s just not safe at the cliff house.

Wyatt: Look, I know you’re worried about her, but I gotta say it again. I… I truly think you’re a bit disappointed to hear that Steffy decided to go back with Finn.

Steffy: [ Sobbing ] Oh, I was so excited. I was so excited thinking about walking through the door, coming home to you with the kids. Being able to just pick up our lives together.

Finn: Yeah. Honey, look, we can still do that, okay? Look, Sheila is gone. Steff–

Steffy: No. Sheila will never be gone. You don’t know. I– I– I lived with the threat of Sheila for years, Finn.

Finn: Wait, so what are you saying? Steffy.

Steffy: I love you, Finn… but I need to leave.

Finn: You need to leave?

Steffy: Yeah.

Finn: Like– like– like go back to Eric’s?

Steffy: No, but I have to do whatever is necessary to protect Kelly and Hayes. I’m sorry, Finn, but I need to take the kids and I need to leave Los Angeles.

Deacon: Sounds like it was quite a scene. I can’t believe that Finn dragged you into the house.

Sheila: Yeah. He wouldn’t have even needed to. I would’ve just left. She wasn’t gonna have that. No, she wanted to go off on me.

Deacon: So, I’m guessing you’re still persona non grata.

Sheila: She was hysterical. Screaming and crying and demanding that Finn cut me out of his life. She wouldn’t give me an inch, Deacon. I mean, wh– why can’t she give me a little benefit of the doubt?

Deacon: Sheila, do you blame her?

Sheila: I… I’m Finn’s mother. I love my son. How about the fact that I– I saved Kelly’s life. You know, I saved her daughter’s life and has she shown me any gratitude at all for that? Oh, no. No. Of course not. All she can do is scream to him and demand to him over and over again that he tell me to leave and never come back. You know what? She made him use those words, Deacon. She made him say those things to his mother. He– he never would’ve done anything like that if it weren’t for her. No, my relationship with my son would be so different if it weren’t for her.

Wyatt: Kinda sucks, right? I mean, when Steffy was at Eric’s, I thought it would create the perfect opportunity for you.

Liam: Well, it didn’t and now, it looks like that door is closed. Listen, it’s frustrating, but I’m not naive. I mean, I– I know that Steffy loves Finn.

Wyatt: Yeah, but the same way she loves you?

Liam: I mean, my mother isn’t a murderous psychopath who hates her, so.

Wyatt: That’s a point in your favor.

Liam: Right?

Wyatt: Sure.

Liam: I think so. Listen, I– I– I get what Steffy’s doing. I mean, she’s trying to do right by her family. She’s trying to make it work with her husband. I just– I can’t… I can’t believe Steffy would put up with Finn having Sheila in his life much longer.

Finn: Leaving los Angeles? What are you talking about?

Steffy: Finn, loving you has changed my life. Even after we found out that Sheila was your birth mother. Even after she left us to die in the alley, I just kept thinking that our love would just win out in the end.

Finn: Yeah, and it will. Honey, you gotta keep believing in us. What are you–

Steffy: I’ve tried to make peace with the fact that Sheila is your birth mother. I’ve tried to push it out of my mind and just keep telling myself that I am gonna continue to fight. I’m gonna continue to protect our children, but the truth is, I’m just exhausted. I’m exhausted. And I just– I– I realize that I’ve made a mistake. I let my guard down. I– I came here, considered moving back in with the kids and I just realized that Sheila’s never gonna let you go.

Finn: Steffy, I love you, okay? Don’t– don’t worry about Sheila, okay? I’m gonna make sure that she stays away from us.

Steffy: You can’t make that promise, Finn. You can’t. And I won’t put our children’s well-being at risk. I will not take that chance. So, I need to go. I need to leave L.A.

Deacon: Come on, Sheila. Even you have to understand just a little bit why Steffy doesn’t want you in their life. I mean, almost dying does tend to leave a mark.

Sheila: So, you’re– you’re telling me there’s no room for any forgiveness? I mean, not even for Finn’s mother? Like she’s never made a mistake.

Deacon: Well, you do give new meaning to mother-in-law from hell.

Sheila: You think this is funny?

Deacon: No. No, I’m sorry. I don’t. I wish I had something I could say to make you feel better.

Sheila: Yeah, well, I don’t think I’m gonna have to worry about Steffy for much longer.

Deacon: What do you mean, Sheila?

Sheila: Not for the reasons that you’re thinking, Deacon. I just– I get the feeling she still has feelings for Liam. I– I think she’s still in love with Liam. I know that that’s gonna hurt my son. It’ll break his heart, but at least she’ll be gone. And he’ll have his mother to lean on.

Liam: I mean, believe me, I’ve never wished for Steffy’s marriage to implode. It’s just… with Sheila for a mother-in-law, it’s only a matter of time, right?

Wyatt: Well, if I was a betting man, I would’ve taken that one.

Liam: You are. You are a betting man.

Wyatt: On occasion. Hey, uh… you still think you and Steffy have a shot of being together again?

Liam: I don’t know. I mean, I admit, I’m not– I’m not totally giving up on the idea of having a life with Steffy. It’s Steffy. We have a great love story, right? Those feelings don’t just disappear. She knows I would always protect her. I mean, I– I’m Liam, right? I’m protective. I’m overprotective. That’s my whole thing. [ Liam chuckling ] I wouldn’t let Sheila get within 100 miles of Steffy or the kids and that is a promise I would keep.

Wyatt: All right.

Finn: Don’t do this. This isn’t something that we can deal with if we stay in L.A. We need to get away. I can come with you, right? We can stay as a family.

Steffy: No, Finn, you can’t. Sheila won’t let you go. She’ll find you. It’ll just be more stress, same threats. Terrified when she’s gonna show up again.

Finn: So, I’m, uh… I’m trapped. Because of me, Sheila’s always gonna be a danger to you and the kids.

Steffy: I’m sorry, Finn. But after today, I have to keep as much distance between you and Sheila and me and the kids, so I need to leave. Today.

Finn: You gotta– you– you gotta leave today?

Steffy: I have to. I have no choice. I’m thinking about maybe– I don’t know, maybe I could go overseas. I can enroll Kelly in an international school there. Maybe it might be a good– a good experience for her. My mom could join.

Finn: Just hang onto our love, okay? Just hang onto our love and keep it alive because I’m never gonna stop fighting for us and I’ll fight and find a way to eliminate Sheila from our lives, and then you guys– you guys could come home. And then, soon, you’re never gonna have to worry about that psychopath, right? Okay? Ever again.

Steffy: Finn, you are always gonna be in my heart, okay? Never doubt that.

Finn: Hey. We thought we lost each other once, right? We found our way back. We’ll do it again. We’ll be reunited.

[ Steffy sobbing ]

Deacon: I just think you’re getting way ahead of yourself. There’s absolutely no reason to believe that Steffy isn’t committed to Finn. Hey, listen. She went to Eric’s to guard herself and her kids against you.

Sheila: I’m not so sure. You know, Liam and– and hope, they’re not married any longer and Steffy and he, they– they have history. I mean, they were once madly in love with one another and they have a beautiful child together.

Deacon: I think you’re hoping for something that isn’t gonna happen. Sheila, just don’t put too much stock in this because right now, this is a fantasy.

Sheila: It would hurt my son, of course. But we’ve all had our hearts broken and gotten over it and he will too. And he’ll come to know that it was the best thing that ever could’ve happened to him. Be free of Steffy.

[ Steffy mouthing “yes” ]

Finn: I’m not giving up on us. I’m not losing my wife and family.

Steffy: Liam, I need to talk to you.

Liam: What– what is it? What’s wrong?

Steffy: You– you were right. You were right.

Liam: I was right about what?

Steffy: I went back home to be with Finn and everything was– it was great. It was great until… Sheila showed up.

Liam: Okay, so– first of all, are you okay?

Steffy: I– I can’t– I can’t do this anymore. I’m– I’m– I’m exhausted. I’ve just been living in this shadow of fear ever since Sheila’s been out of prison. So, I came here because I’ve made a decision.

Liam: Okay. What’s the decision?

Steffy: I, um… I’m gonna take Kelly and Hayes and I’m gonna leave los Angeles. I’m gonna leave the country. My mom’s gonna meet me in Rome. I’m not sure where we’re gonna settle, but I just– I wanted you to know because obviously, Kelly is your daughter and I want you to weigh in, but please, please do not– do not fight me on this.

Liam: I– I am not gonna fight you on it. Steffy, I don’t blame you and honestly… yeah, I think I’d feel better knowing you and Kelly and Hayes are as far away from Sheila as possible.

Steffy: Okay. Thank you.

Liam: So, um, Finn is not coming with you or?

Steffy: No, he can’t. Wherever he goes, Sheila will follow.

Liam: It’s the right thing. You’re doing the right thing and– and I support it 100%. And you know what? You know, I’ll come visit you. Screw it, right? I mean, I’m not gonna let you and Kelly forget about me.

Steffy: Okay. Okay, well, I– I have to get to the airport.

Liam: Hey, listen. Last thing. You’re a really good mom, you know. You would do anything for your children and I have so much faith in you. That you’re gonna take care of them and you’re gonna protect them and if you need anything, you call me, okay? And I’ll be on a plane before you finish the sentence.

Steffy: Yeah. Okay.

Liam: I’ll miss you and… and I really love you and I always will. Okay? Okay.

[ Relaxing music ]

Steffy: I can’t believe you let her in here.

Finn: Look, I just– I wanted to work this out once and for all.

Steffy: Then do that. Tell her. Tell Sheila to leave and never come back.

Sheila: We have a connection, a bond. You know that.

Steffy: Tell her.

Sheila: Don’t let her do this. Don’t let Steffy drive your mother away.

Sheila: That’s why I have to do this. I– I’ve got to seize this moment.

Deacon: Sheila, your– your passion, your determination, those are two of the things that I love the most about you, but you’re forgetting the biggest obstacle. Steffy, okay? She’s the love of his life. Sheila: It’s a bitter pill to swallow. But I can tell you this. Steffy is never going to come between Finn and me again. That is never going to happen.

[ Deacon sighs ]

Deacon: Table for two? Something out of the way, romantic? No? Telling you, my– my risotto is to die for. I can– no? Okay. So, uh, twice in one day, to what do I owe this displeasure?

Ridge: We’re not done with you, Deacon.

Wyatt: Hang on a second here. You– Steffy and the kids are moving back into the cliff house with Finn?

Liam: I– honestly, I couldn’t even tell you the rationale. It’s crazy to me.

Wyatt: Why? What is she thinking?

Liam: I don’t know. What I do know is that I’m right back to worrying about Steffy and the kids’ safety.

Deacon: Well, you come all the way over here again. At least let me feed you, okay? Chef’s got some great stuffed peppers. I’ll have him whip them up on the house.

Ridge: You know, that sounds nice. Let’s sit down, eat something and talk about your psycho girlfriend.

Deacon: Why, what’s going on? What– what could have possibly changed since I saw you last?

Carter: Steffy decided to take the kids back to the cliff house and move in with Finn. That decision puts her and ridge’s grandchildren in danger. Now, we know that Sheila is planning her next move. If she learns that Finn and Hayes are under the same roof… we need to know what you know now.

Wyatt: I can’t believe this. Sheila is on the loose right now. She is a serious threat to Steffy and the kids and– and she wants to move back in with Finn?

Liam: Yeah. Well, apparently she just refuses to let Sheila tear her family apart anymore.

Wyatt: Ok– okay. What– whatever, I– I get that, I guess, it’s just all this talk about Eric’s place being the safest place for the kids and all that. Now, just suddenly a 180? Why? It doesn’t make any sense. Like, how could she think that moving back in with Finn is just magically safe all of a sudden?

Liam: It’s– it’s not at all. I mean, she’s putting herself right back in Sheila’s line of fire and, uh, I… I can’t let that happen.

Sheila: Finn, please. Don’t let her pressure you to cut me out of your life.

Finn: You can’t be here.

Sheila: You just said how you wanted to work this out.

Finn: That was a mistake thinking that we could do that. And, you know, I only did that because you showed up here again, unannounced, unwanted.

Sheila: No, that’s– that’s not fair. I didn’t know that Steffy was even here. Please don’t let her dictate our relationship. I only came to see you. She– she walked out on you, Finn. She took my grandson, your son and left.

Finn: She left because of you, Sheila. My god, you shot us. That doesn’t just go away. And yes, I am grateful that you saved Kelly, but you cannot be here. Do not come anywhere near us, Kelly or Hayes.

Wyatt: Look, your concern is noble and valid and I am– I am not trying to diminish that, but Steffy is moving back into the cliff house with her husband Finn, so.

Liam: So?

Wyatt: So, is it all possible that you’re upset that Steffy is getting back together with Finn?

Liam: Bite me, okay? I– I am not thinking– my feelings are irrelevant. All I’m thinking about right now is Steffy’s safety and the kids’ safety.

Wyatt: Okay, but you got to admit here when Steffy was at Eric’s, it was perfect for you. It gave you a greater opening and a chance to be able to rekindle what you had with your ex-wife.

Deacon: So, Steffy moved back to the cliff house with Finn. Why?

Carter: Does that concern you?

Deacon: Well, it just seems like an odd decision.

Ridge: It’s a dangerous decision.

Deacon: Okay, so I’m not getting it. What does this have to do with me?

Ridge: Sheila wants Finn and Hayes in her life. She wants this happy family.

Deacon: Your point?

Carter: Our point? Are you serious? You had a past with Sheila.

Deacon: Keep your voice down, all right? Please. Look, I told you before. I want nothing to do with her. Why would I?

Ridge: Listen. I don’t care what you did with Sheila in the past, what you plan to do with her in the future. What I care about is my daughter’s safety and right now she’s in danger because of a woman that you know better than anyone. So, if you know something, anything, father to father, let me know.

Sheila: Sweetie, this isn’t you. You’re so much more loving and compassionate. You see me for who I am. The person that nurtured you, that brought you into this world. So, please don’t let what Steffy says poison you against me. Yes, I have made mistakes and I have apologized for that time and time again.

Steffy: Oh, enough already, Sheila. He’s not buying your lies. You heard him. Go. We don’t want anything to do with you.

Sheila: But you’re– you’re telling me to go? The woman that walked out on her husband. Don’t you– don’t you see what she’s trying to do? She’s weaponizing our relationship to get what she wants. To justify her walking out.

Steffy: You’ve got to be kidding me.

Sheila: Please. Please, Finn. I know that I have made mistakes. You called me Mom, you embraced me and we have a bond that no one and nothing will ever break. Not even Steffy.

Deacon: Ridge, I understand your concern. I really do, but I told you everything I know, which is nothing.

Carter: We almost lost Steffy because of Sheila. We will not let that happen again.

Deacon: I don’t want that either. And I told you, I haven’t had any contact with her.

Ridge: I don’t believe you.

Carter: Neither do I.

Ridge: If I find out that you’re lying to me, we’re going to have a real problem.

Liam: You know, I think I’m beginning to reconsider these little chats of ours.

Wyatt: Oh, please, who else is going to let you open up and vent the way that I do?

Liam: Who else is going to take my genuine concern and turn it into a torrid love scandal?

Wyatt: A torrid love scandal?

Liam: A love scandal.

Wyatt: Ple– I would take that any day over the reality we’re going to be facing. Sheila is back in our lives.

Liam: Fair. Well, we’re here now and for the record, my concern really is about Steffy and the kids well-being.

Wyatt: Thank you, Captain Obvious. I would sure hope so. I’m just saying, okay, you’ve been very clear about your feelings for Steffy lately, right? You kissed her more than once. Uh, you told me that losing her was the biggest mistake of your life and you also said that you would love to have a life with her and Kelly again. So, I got to imagine that you are extremely disappointed with Steffy going back to Finn.

Sheila: Steffy, you’re… you’re a mother. You have that same connection as well with your children.

Steffy: We are nothing alike.

Sheila: Oh, no, but we are. We’re both moms, we both gave birth, so we have that bond. Having that being growing inside of us, knowing that we’re responsible for its food, its– its air, its safe, nurturing environment, knowing that anything that we do can affect its life and how we would do anything, anything at all… to protect that life. Just because you give birth, it doesn’t mean that– that– that undeniable love, that– that instinct to protect and be close goes away because it doesn’t. There is nothing… that can take that away.

Finn: You need to go.

Sheila: Are you– are you really going to forget that she– she walked out on you?

Finn: That was because of you. Steffy didn’t use you as an excuse. She was afraid for herself and for the children because everywhere that I go, you follow me, like right here, right now. You know what? That ends today. I’m not going to ask you again. Leave.

Sheila: Finn–

Finn: No, I am not going to allow you to terrorize Steffy anymore. Go.

Deacon: I would never do anything to jeopardize the safety of your family.

Carter: Would never jeopardize the safety of your family. You hear that? Except for harboring fugitive.

Deacon: I meant from this point on.

Ridge: Hey, you know what, Deacon? If anything happens to my kids or my grandkids, I will make you pay.

Wyatt: You know you’re doing that thing with your face again.

Liam: What? It’s just my face.

Wyatt: Oh, yeah, I know. I mean, how you got Steffy and hope? That’s gonna baffle me to the end of time.

Liam: Wow.

[ Wyatt laughs ] Wow.

Wyatt: I’m just messing with you, okay? I’m concerned. I just– I’m just looking out for you, okay?

Liam: I– I– I know and I appreciate it. I mean, the truth is there was a time about four seconds ago when, uh, you know, maybe I was kind of hoping there was another chance for me and Steffy. But if she’s going back to Finn, that’s, um… probably not in the cards.

Sheila: You don’t need to fear me, Steffy. I love my son. I love Hayes. I just want to be part of this family, our family. I– I saved Kelly’s life. I– does that count for anything?

Finn: No, no, no. You don’t get to do that. You don’t get to use Kelly to make us feel guilty. We’re never going to forget what happened in that alley and I don’t blame Steffy for taking the kids as far away from you as possible.

Sheila: And I can’t change anything that has happened in the past. But you got to know, I am not a threat to you. You are my flesh and blood and I would never purposely do anything to harm you. You know that, Finn. I love you.

Finn: You mean that? You– you– you– you mean that you love me?

Sheila: I do. More than anything in this world. You are a part of me and I’m a part of you forever.

Finn: Well, then if you love me as much as you say you do and you want me to really have happiness, then do as I say. Leave. Go. Walk out that door and never come back.

Sheila: Oh, you don’t– no, you– you don’t mean that.

Finn: Oh, yeah, I do. Yes, I do.

Sheila: You see what you’re doing? You’re– you’re appeasing her. She– she’s controlling you.

Finn: No one controls me. Steffy loves me. And I love her and you have caused her nothing but pain. And on some level, somewhere in that heart of yours, you do love me.

Sheila: Well, I do. I do so very much.

Finn: Well, then prove it. Say goodbye, Sheila. Never come near us, Kelly or Hayes again. Go. Leave and promise me that we will never hear from you again. I’m sorry.

Steffy: Yeah.

Finn: Oh, my god. I’m sorry you had to go through that. I didn’t mean for that to be like that.

Steffy: I can never be in the same room as her.

Finn: Oh, I know.

Steffy: I can’t.

Finn: I know, okay. I got– I got through to her. Okay? Sheila, she’s not going to be coming back.

Steffy: I wish I could believe that. Well, we both know what she’s capable of. You heard her. You’re her son. In her sick twisted mind, she thinks she loves you. I love you, Finn, but I can’t do this anymore.

[ Steffy gasps ]

Finn: What– what is it?

Steffy: I saw her. She’s out there.

Finn: Who?

Steffy: Sheila.

Finn: She– okay, then get– just, just come here, okay? Maybe– maybe, it’s just–

Steffy: Maybe, maybe what? Wait, you think I’m seeing things?

Liam: Sheila’s dangerous. She’s on the loose. And now you’re telling me that steffy has decided to– to go back to the cliff house with finn. Like, did she give you a reason why she would put the kids in that situation?

Ridge: She doesn’t have to give me a reason, I know why, she wants to put her family back together, go back to her house.

Liam: I know but– but being at that house could do more harm than good, ’cause sheila’s not gonna stay away. She can’t help herself when it comes to her son and her grandson. Now, you combine that with– with this soft spot finn has for his bio mom and I– I… this is why I’m worried something bad is gonna happen.

Rj: It’s almost concerning. I mean, you and thomas, you guys just can’t miss. Hope, this is– seriously, this is incredible. You– you’ve really– you’ve outdone yourself.

Hope: Thank you. I mean, we’ve put a lot of energy into hope for the future.

Rj: Forrester’s really investing in the new line, right? Speaking of forrester, have you shown any of the– the new sketches to my granddad? You know, like, just– just to get his two cents, he’d love it. I– I just hate to see him get lost in the shuffle, you know?

Hope: Lost in the shuffle?

Rj: Yeah.

Hope: Rj, eric is the face of forrester creations.

Rj: Do you think that’s all he is now? Like, do you think he’s just a figure head?

Hope: No, of– of course not. But at the same time, I mean, all companies do eventually have to evolve and grow.

Rj: Right, with you and thomas leading the way.

Hope: Um… what are you implying?

Rj: I am not implying anything, I’m just saying, I don’t think that the founder should be forgotten about in his own company. That’s all.

Hope: Okay, well, that is not happening. Are– is that really what this is about or, um, is this maybe more about thomas and me?

Rj: Wow. Oh– yeah. Actually, you know what, now that you’ve brought it up, yeah, I am very concerned about you and no, I don’t want to talk about him or what the situation’s done to your marriage. Hope, are you really done with liam or not?

Liam: I don’t like how this feels, ridge. I don’T.

Ridge: I gotta ask you, why do you think it’s necessary to tell me how you’re feeling about this? How awful this is?

Liam: That’s fair. I’m not– I’m not trying to alarm you–

Ridge: No, because I’m already alarmed, right? Because sheila’s running around free.

Liam: And I know how much you love your daughter, so–

Ridge: Yes.

Liam: I’m sorry.

>Ridge: Almost as much as you do, I bet.

Liam: Yeah. No. Yes, I love steffy. I always have. That’s not gonna change. That’s not– this is– this is about safety because wherever– wherever finn, is he attracts sheila like a magnet and so steffy and the kids are not safe when they’re around him.

Steffy: I swear, I just saw sheila. Wait, what– what are you doing? Where are you– finn, where are you going?

Finn: I’m making sure she’s not here.

Steffy: Finn, no, no. Be careful.

Finn: What are you doing here?

Sheila: I needed to see you, sweetheart. I– I miss my son. Rj: Listen, if you don’t want to talk to me about your marriage or the potential divorce, that’s fine. I just, I– I might have talked to mom and she might have told me that you went and– and talked to liam and fought for your second chance at the marriage and, um…

Hope: Ah, okay. Um, yeah.

Rj: Yeah?

Hope: I just wanted to make sure that– that we did everything we could. You know, I felt like liam and I reconnected at beth’s birthday party and then, you know, he had this great talk with me afterward about thomas and I just, I felt like, I don’t know, maybe he wanted another chance at us, at our marriage. So then, I went to him and I– I put all the cards on the table and yeah, he– he shot me down.

Rj: Why? I– why would he say one thing and then do completely the opposite? I mean, why– why was he leading you on?

Hope: Have you met liam spencer? Look, rj. He said he would always love me, but he just… he can’t forgive me.

Rj: He can’t forget what you did with thomas. So, that’s the key to this whole thing, really. I mean, he would have forgiven you if it was any other man, right? But because it was thomas, he can’t forgive you.

Hope: Yeah.

Ridge: I’m grateful. I really am. I’m grateful for the, uh, the concern that you’ve shown my daughter. But I have to wonder how much of that is based on this newly discovered love that you have for her. And I gotta wonder how that would change if your situation with hope were different.

[ Liam chuckles ]

Liam: That’s a good question. It’s a valid question and you deserve an answer.

Steffy: Finn! Are you okay?

Finn: No, I’m fine. Okay? I got her. I got sheila.

Steffy: Oh, my god.

Finn: You can’t be here.

Sheila: You’ve got to believe I just came to see you, not to do anybody any harm. I miss you more than you can possibly imagine.

Finn: You’re coming with me.

Steffy: No, no, finn. What are you doing? You can’t bring sheila into our house. Finn. Oh, my god.

Finn: We are finally putting an end to this right here, right now, once and for all. Thoughts, martin?

Rj: I feel awful, hope. I mean, if you ever need anything at all, you know you can always talk to me, right? I know that you feel alone. You must feel really lost.

Hope: Thomas, I just need to say one thing. Liam let me down and I’m hurting and I am going to need some time, but… that doesn’t mean that I don’t want you. Is that, um, is that something you can handle?

Rj: It’s just so unfair. It’s not like liam hasn’t hurt you in the past. You’re gonna get through this. I know you will.

Hope: Yes, I will.

Liam: My concern for steffy, it’s– it’s not born of some plot to undermine your daughter’s marriage, if that’s what you’re thinking. You’re– you– you’re right. You’re right. I love her. I do and I’m– and I am motivated by that love but that– that’s why I care about her safety.

Ridge: Okay. Happy to hear it. You gotta keep her safe, keep the grandkids safe.

Liam: Yeah. Yeah. And that’s so– I– I agree and– and so we– we have to figure out what to do here because honestly I’m worried that if– if steffy goes back to the house that something’s gonna happen and both of our daughters–

Ridge: Okay, let me ask you something. Do you know, the story of steffy when she broke her arm when she was a kid?

Liam: Uh, yeah, she thought– she thought she could fly.

Ridge: Mm-hmm. Yes. Well, there’s more to that story. We were in greece. We– we had rented this house, it’s a nice spot. Um, it was on a cliff, you know, and I was, uh, in the kitchen one morning I looked out the window and there was phoebe, uh, thomas and steffy, they were playing and then steffy started walking towards the patio. It was a bit of a drop off. So I went outside and I said, you know, “you gotta be careful.” And she gave me the look, you know the look.

Liam: The, um, “is that a challenge?”

Ridge: Yeah. That look. And she told me, she said, “I’m about to– to show my brother and my sister that I can fly and I’m gonna show you too,” she said. And the more I asked her to get away from the edge, the closer she got. And then finally, standing there, looked me right in the eye, didn’t break eye contact and she jumped. Boom, broken arm, humorous. Eight weeks in the cast. And we have a story that I’m gonna keep telling. Two things I learned that day. Number one, steffy can’t fly. Number two, if you challenge her, she will defy you. I thought for years if I hadn’t pushed her so much, then maybe she wouldn’t have jumped and she probably wouldn’t have. So, here’s a thing to remember. We can be concerned, we can be cautious, we can make sure she’s all right, but we can’t push her ’cause it makes things worse.

Liam: What if I can’t do that here?

Ridge: You have to. We have to. We think we’re right. She thinks she’s right. She wants to put her family back together. She wants her husband, her kids in her house on her terms. And even if we know it’s dangerous, it doesn’t matter because if we push her, she will jump, try to fly away.

Steffy: Finn, why is this woman in her home?

Finn: Look, let’s just settle this right now.

Sheila: I– I told him outside, I only came to see him, my son.

Steffy: Stop calling him that. He’s not your son.

Sheila: No, it’s true. I am his mother. I gave birth to him. You of all people should know about this, steffy. You know, it really doesn’t matter what you or anyone else feels about me. It’s never going to change the fact that I am finn’s mother. Baby, I– I am so sorry. I didn’t want to cause any kind of a scene. I didn’t even know steffy was here. The last thing I wanted to do was cause trouble for you. I– I just can’t stop thinking about the memories that we’ve shared recently. These moments. You embraced me again and again and we had a deep connection. I felt it. It’s– I’m right. I– I know that I’m right, so please just– just tell steffy. Will you tell her that I’m right?

Rj: Hear me out because you know, when you’re in the middle of something, it’s– it’s very difficult to have clarity, yes?

Hope: Oh, I’m seeing things clearly.

Rj: Okay. Well, humor me then. Hope… I know what you want. You want to be happy, you want to feel loved and you want to be fulfilled. Yes?

Hope: Mm-hmm.

Rj: You also want to be a successful businesswoman and the best mother you can be. That is an incredibly tall order, right? But I know you can do it. You know how I know you can do it? Because you have done it before. But in order to achieve it, you had to put yourself first. Here. Just close your eyes for a second. Humor me. Just humor me, please.

Hope: Okay.

Rj: I want you to think of somebody who compliments you in those things. Somebody who makes you feel all of those things. Who is going to build you up and support you? Hope. I think we know the answer to that.

Liam: Steffy is steffy. But sheila is sheila and we know– we know the lengths she’ll go to to get what she wants.

Ridge: And what she wants right now is finn and hayes and her happily ever after.

Liam: Yes, yes. This, ridge, exa– this is my point, right? What if– what if sheila sees steffy as an obstacle to that? What does sheila do to an obstacle? What does she do? She gets rid of it.

Steffy: Sheila, I don’t wanna hear another word out of your mouth. Finn, I don’t understand why she’s here.

Sheila: He just told you. He’d like to put an end to this once and for all and quite frankly, so would I, steffy. I mean, there’s got to be a way as– as a family that we can move on from this.

Steffy: A family? What are you talking about?

Sheila: A family because that’s what we are. I am finn’s mother. You’re hayes’s mother. I am hayes’s grandmother. That’s a family.

Steffy: I don’t care if you gave birth to finn, you are never gonna be part of our family, sheila. Tell her.

Sheila: Look, sweetheart. Look, I know that I’ve made mistakes, mistakes that I’m gonna regret for a lifetime. But regardless of what has happened in the past, I am– I am– I am not evil. My god, I– I saved kelly’s life for god’s sakes. I– I saved your daughter’s life, steffy. I– does that mean anything to you at all? Please just give me an opportunity, an opportunity to show you all how I really have– I’ve changed. I– I can be a good, a nurturing mother, a– a good part of all of your lives. Just give me a chance. Please don’t turn your back on me, finn. Please.

Steffy: Finn, please do not listen to her. Don’t listen to what she’s saying. You vowed to protect us, me and the kids. We– we were gonna come back. Now, tell her. Tell this monster you want nothing to do with her.

Sheila: Oh, my son, I love you. You know that that’s not true. I am not a monster. Please don’t turn your back on me. I know that you feel what I feel. I can see it in your eyes, finn. We are so much more alike than you realize. I know you were raised by loving parents and– and they– they– they supported you. They– they were giving you all that– that you needed, but that wasn’t enough, was it? You still wondered about me, didn’t you? And you told me that. You– you told me when you first met me that you had this desire to know me, your– your birth mother, that there was this connection, this– this– this visceral connection that was just tugging at your heart. And believe me, baby, I– I know that feeling more than you could possibly know because I– I was your first love and your first home, your first everything. We have the same blood that is flowing through our veins. And now, we have an opportunity after all these years to– to finally be together again. So please, don’t cut me out of your life, finn. Don’t turn your back on your mother.

Finn: So, this is– this is for real? You’re– you’re sure?

Steffy: Yeah.

Finn: Yeah?

Steffy: Yeah. I want to bring the kids, and I want to come back home.

Finn: You have no idea how bad I’ve wanted to hear you say those words.

[ Both chuckling ]

[ Liam sighs ]

[ Knocking on door ]

Liam: Uh, hey, what are you doing here?

Ridge: I have some news about Steffy.

Sheila: Am I boring you?

Deacon: What? Uh, no, I– I just got a message that the health inspector is going to be here in a couple of days. I, uh… work just never stops… but then again, neither do you.

Sheila: I’m going to take that as a compliment.

Deacon: Look, I know that you want to repair your relationship with Finn, and I’m skeptical, and I also know it’s not going to deter you.

Sheila: Look at you. He’s charming, and he’s a quick learner. You know what? That just might get you another massage.

Deacon: I would rather have a colonoscopy and a date at the DMV.

[ Sheila laughs ]

Deacon: Let me ask you something. I– I know that you want to have a real lasting relationship with Finn, but you said “today.” What’s going on in that crazy, sexy head of yours, Sheila?

Sheila: You know, I’ve been known to work miracles with inspectors, among others. I’m pretty sure I can get this place to pass.

Deacon: Hey, lady, I don’t know what kind of, uh, establishment you think we’re running here, but it’s on the up-and-up. We’ll pass on our own merit.

Sheila: Look at you.

Deacon: What?

Sheila: Like a daddy bear protecting his restaurant. That is so sexy when you are so focused and successful. It kind of gets me going.

Deacon: Hm. You know what else? It lets you dodge my question. So tell me, what are you up to?

[ Sheila chuckles ]

Sheila: Okay, fine. I, uh… I just, I– I’m tired of feeling like my life is on hold, and I’m going to do something about that. I’m going to make it happen, today.

Liam: Wh– Steffy? What– what about Steffy, that you’d have to come here?

Ridge: She’s made a decision. She’s taking the kids and going back to Finn.

Finn: I’m sorry. I am so sorry that I lost your trust. You know I never meant to. But I know in– I mean, I have known since the moment I met you that you would always come first, okay? And the same goes for our sweet little family. You can always trust that, okay? Oh, my God, I missed you. I missed you, Kelly and Hayes so much.

Steffy: Kelly and Hayes have missed you. And never doubt how much I’ve missed you. I love you so much.

Finn: I love you.

Sheila: Oh, don’t.

Deacon: I didn’t say a word.

Sheila: No, but I know that look. You have made your opinions perfectly clear about me having a relationship with Finn.

Deacon: Look, all I was going to say is this, you shouldn’t feel like your life is on hold. Hell, you’ve been given another chance here. All charges dropped, Sheila. You can start over… you can reinvent yourself. You got a place to stay. You’ve got someone you can count on.

Sheila: Oh, Deacon, don’t. And don’t misunderstand what I have said. I am deeply grateful for everything that you have done for me, and I try to show my appreciation as often as I can, but if– if I’m being honest, I feel like my– my life is on hold. Like I’m– I’m held up in this– in this tiny apartment because no one is going to accept me. Hell, they– they all hate me. But I feel if I– if I can just win Finn over, nothing else is going to matter. Now, I will finally be accepted by my beautiful, handsome son that I was forced to put up for adoption years ago.

Liam: I mean, I guess I just– I have a hard time believing Steffy would choose to go back to Finn when nothing’s changed, right? The situation is the same. The– the stakes are the same. The risks are the same and– and now that Finn has made it clear to Sheila that he’s vulnerable to her, she’s going to strike again. Like, Steffy knows this, she’s smarter than this. She’s– no offense. That’s not– I’m not, that’s not what I’m saying….

Ridge: I know what you meant.

Liam: I really hope she doesn’t take her eye off the ball.

Ridge: I don’t think she will. She still has nightmares about Sheila and what she did to her.

Liam: Well, that’s the problem. None of us should be having any dreams about Sheila, nightmare or otherwise, because the woman should be spending the rest of her life in prison.

Ridge: And I think I’m responsible for her not being in prison.

Liam: Why are you responsible? You and my dad did literally everything you could–

Ridge: We did everything? Really? Did we?

Liam: Well…

Ridge: No, your dad’s plan made no sense. And I shouldn’t have trusted him because he’s an idiot. No offense.

Liam: None taken.

Ridge: I knew none of that was ever going to be admissible in court. I should’ve known that. Surveillance cameras he just put in? Of course it’s not going to work. And here I am in a basement with Chen for week after week learning how he grew up in Pacoima, like I care.

Liam: I– I know, but–

Ridge: I should’ve asked more questions. I should have been– I should have done more.

Liam: I’m trying to tell you, this is the difference between you and Finn. One of you is willing to do everything, whatever it takes to protect your family, and the other one isn’t, and this is what’s freaking me out. It’s not just that Finn is complacent. He’s sympathetic to Sheila, and she’s around now. She’s not going anywhere, and we’ve well-established that there is no restraining order, there’s no security detail, there’s nothing that’s going to just keep her away. She wants love, right? That’s what she wants. And she’s decided that who she wants it from is… is her son.

Finn: Do the kids know that they’re coming home?

Steffy: No, I– I wanted to discuss it with you first.

Finn: Oh, yeah, sure. Yeah.

Steffy: Look, I have to admit I’m a bit– I am a bit nervous about bringing Kelly and Hayes back, knowing that Sheila is out there somewhere.

Finn: Yeah, I, um… I made a visit to Liam earlier. I made it clear that he needs to respect you and our marriage. But, um… he actually said something that resonated. It is my job first and foremost to assure you that you’re safe from Sheila — you, and the kids. And I promise that I will do everything in my power to protect you guys. Okay, you’re going to be safe here. All right?

Steffy: Yeah.

Finn: Yeah. Yeah.

[ Deacon groans ]

Deacon: What are you looking for?

Sheila: I am tired of waiting for this miracle reunion with my son. I’m going to make it happen.

Deacon: Sheila, maybe you ought to just take a minute.

Sheila: Take a minute? Have you listened to anything at all that I have said?

Deacon: Okay, if you’re not going to take a minute, then take stock, okay? You beat the law, again. And then you literally got Finn to embrace you after the fact.

Sheila: I didn’t do that. I– it was– it was bigger, our…

Deacon: Oh– oh, you– your connection, right? No, uh, look, I get it, okay? But that’s a big step. You shot the guy, and you left him for dead. And then through the craziest– strangest set of circumstances, you were at the right place at the right time to save his stepdaughter from drowning, on his watch. And then what happened? He started looking at you with new eyes. Hell, he even called you “Mom.”

Sheila: That’s why I have to do this. I– I’ve got to seize this moment.

Deacon: Okay. Okay. But you’ve come so far in such a little amount of time. Is it really smart to push so hard, so fast? You’ve taken some steps in the right direction. Steffy and those kids are the most important thing in Finn’s life, not you, and I’m sorry to say it, but it’s true, okay? She’s the love of his life.

Sheila: Yeah. Those are tough cards to be dealt, aren’t they? A mother. We nurture this little being inside of us. We protect it, we feed it, we do everything that we think is best for it. And then we scrutinize what kind of a– a person is this going to be? Who’re they going to grow up to be like? And we pray that they don’t make the same mistakes that we make. I was asked to give my son up long before I ever had the joy of– of bringing him into this world. Now, decades later, I get to– to suffer that– that disappointment that so many mothers do. Where your son falls in love with someone else and loves her more than he loves his own mother, regardless of the nurturing and everything that you did to make sure that they would strive. But it’s a bitter pill to swallow. But I can tell you this: Steffy is never going to come between Finn and me again.

Deacon: Sheila, what– what are you doing? Where are you going?

Ridge: I know Sheila. I know everything about her. It’s– she had the same MO when she was going after my dad, and you’re right. All she wants is to be loved, and man, I wish I felt sorry for her, but I don’t.

Liam: Well, Finn does.

Steffy: I missed your touch.

Finn: I do, um– I have a confession.

Steffy: Okay.

Finn: Yeah, there’s a– a sink full of clothes and take-out boxes under that cutting board.

Steffy: What?

Finn: [ Chuckles ] Well, when you called, I rushed home as fast as I could, and I was trying to clean and– and– and pick up, and I heard your car come, and I just– I– I panicked because I’m– I’m– I’m just– I’m a mess without you, literally. I don’t know.

Steffy: Well, you better not be thinking that I’m going to be cleaning up because that’s going to be on you. I’m just so confused. You’re the one who always loves to clean.

Finn: Well, when we’re together… but apparently when we’re not, it turns back into my med school days.

Steffy: Well, I’m glad I met you after med school.

Finn: Yeah.

Steffy: But you are going to clean that up, okay?

Finn: Oh yes, of course, of course. I got you.

Steffy: But I have to ask you something a little more serious, and I– I really want the– the truth, okay?

Finn: Yeah.

Steffy: Have you had any contact with Sheila while I’ve been at my grandfather’s?

Finn: I have not heard a word from Sheila, Steffy. Zero contact, I promise, okay? And even if I did, I would tell her never to bother me or my family again. I know the threat of Sheila. I’ll never forget what happened to you in that alley, okay? And it kills me that you suffered from the hands of her. Honey, you are– you are everything to me, okay? I would give my life for you. And I meant it before, and I mean it now: I promise I will do everything in my power to keep Sheila away from you and the kids. Believe me.

Steffy: I do. I believe you.

Finn: Yeah.

Steffy: Oh, my God.

[ Steffy groans ]

Liam: Sheila’s caused so much harm. She’s done so much damage, and yet there’s– it’s like there’s this one holdout, this one guy, Finn, who just isn’t getting the memo.

Ridge: Not his fault Sheila gave birth to him.

Liam: No, it’s not his fault she gave birth to him, but it is his fault for embracing her, for calling her mother, for giving her even the slightest hint that they could have a relationship. Like, what’s he doing?

Ridge: Look, I like the kid.

Liam: I know.

Ridge: I respect him. Did I want my daughter to be married to the spawn of Satan? No, but it happened. And now they’re moving back in together. It’s not what I want, trust me.

Liam: Tell you something? It’s kind of nice to hear you making some of the same noise as I’ve been about this, because, lately, I feel like all of my concerns for the safety of my family are falling on deaf ears, and it’s– like, I– I– I’m not, you know, I haven’t hidden the fact, at least not from you, that I love Steffy. I cherish what we had. Yeah, if I had the chance to resurrect our relationship, of course I would, but that’s not– even if none of that ever happened, you know… I still care about her and– and– and I want to protect her, and especially, I want to protect my daughter. And this is what’s got me so concerned because I think Finn is so blinded by this connection he has to Sheila that… this isn’t going to end well.

Finn: I can’t tell you what this means to me. Having your faith and your belief in me again, and the fact that you’re going to give me a second chance. You leaving, that was… that was hell. I mean, it was way worse than when I was stuck in that hospital bed because this time, it was my own fault. I never should have put you in that position, and I never wanted to let you down.

Steffy: I know, I know that. And I never wanted to take the kids, but I felt like I had to in order to keep them safe.

Finn: I understand. I understand, okay? And I wouldn’t ask you guys to come back here if I didn’t feel like I could protect you.

Steffy: I really do believe you.

Finn: Look, I vow that you will never have to deal with Sheila again.

[ Steffy groans ]

Finn: God, I’ve missed you. I’ve missed… pushing your body up against mine.

Steffy: I missed you, too.

Finn: Yeah.

Steffy: It’s one of the reasons why I didn’t want to bring the kids home just yet because I felt like we needed a little time to… reconnect. You feel that, too?

Finn: Absolutely.

[ Steffy gasps ]

Finn: Wait, wait, what?

Steffy: What?

Finn: What is it? You okay?

Steffy: Yeah, no, no, it’s nothing. Nothing.

[ Finn moans ]

[ Steffy gasps ]

Finn: Whoa, whoa, whoa, what’s the matter?

Steffy: Sheila. She’s here, she’s here.

Finn: What? Who? What?

Steffy: Sheila’s here! She’s here. Oh, my god.

Recap written by Suzanne

Ridge visits Liam at his office to let him know that Steffy and the kids are going back to live with Finn. Both are very worried that Sheila will try to get back into Finn’s life and put Steffy and the kids in danger. Ridge blames himself for trusting Bill and his dumb plan to put Sheila behind bars.

Sheila tells Deacon that she has a plan to get back with Finn today. Deacon worries about what she’ll do.

Steffy goes back to Finn. He assures her that he’s not going to let Sheila back into their lives. They start kissing passionately when Steffy sees (behind Finn’s back) Sheila stick her head in the patio door. She yells that “Sheila is here!” and freaks out.

Ridge: You two really have this roommate thing down, don’t you?

Steffy: Hmm?

Eric: Hmm?

Ridge: Nothing. Where are my grandkids?

Steffy: Oh, they’re, uh– they’re at the pool with Donna painting rocks.

Eric: I have to say Donna and I love the buzz those kids create when they’re here.

Steffy: Thank you for letting us stay here.

Eric: Of course. I love you guys. I love you. I love Kelly. I love, um…

Steffy: Hayes.

Eric: Hayes. I love you all. And this is your home. It’s a family home, and you can stay here as long as you want any time, don’t you forget that.

Steffy: I– I won’t, and it has been an incredible time, but we can’t stay here forever.

Ridge: What are you saying?

Liam: Well, we’re trending in the right direction. Yeah, we are. Subs are up and– and we got a little uh, bump in print readership, ’cause of that ad-buy, no doubt. Just don’t… uh, don’t run this by my dad just yet, I want you to, uh, make sure Wyatt sees it first. Okay, all right, thanks Erin, bye-bye. I’m a little busy, John.

Finn: Right, well, I don’t care. I’m just here to make sure that you’re staying away from my wife.

Liam: I don’t blame you for being upset, but don’t– don’t do this, don’t come to my office and start barking orders at me, you know exactly why Steffy walked out on you. It’s got nothing to do with me. It’s because you refuse to cut ties with Sheila.

Deacon: Ah. Ow. Ow, Sheila, damn it, isn’t a massage supposed to be relaxing?

Sheila: Oh, my gosh. Should stop being such a baby. It’s just that you are so tight, you’ve got so many knots. It’s like you’re carrying all of this stress, the weight of the world on these incredibly broad, strong… handsome shoulders.

Deacon: I wonder why I’m stressed. Sheila, if Brooke or Hope finds out that you’re staying here, they’re not gonna have anything to do with me. I could wind up losing the restaurant. How’s that for the weight of the world? Ow! [ Grunts ] Did you get those things sharpened?

[ Sheila laughing ]

Deacon: [ Grunts ] I’m gonna need a real masseuse after– I’m– I’m gonna need a chiropractor after this. [ Grunts ]

Sheila: Oh…Did one side, I don’t want you to be off balance.

Deacon: Oh, I’m sorry. Who’s off balance? Ow!

Sheila: Stop being such a baby.

Deacon: Don’t call me a baby.

Sheila: Everything is gonna be just fine, all right? And I already promised I am not going to upend your life.

Deacon: Too late. [ Grunts ] Damn it, Sheila.

Finn: Look, Liam, so you know, I have told Steffy that Sheila will never have a role in our lives.

Liam: Yeah, no, that’s– that’s great, that’s a great… sentence. But now, it’s on you to actually prove that you’re not still vulnerable to Sheila, especially, for Kelly’s sake and Hayes’ sake. And by the way, I’m not the only one who sees it this way, Steffy obviously does, too.

Finn: You know what I see? I see you playing this compassionate ex-husband who claims that he just wants what’s best for his ex-wife. When in reality, you’re just trying to use Sheila to drive a wedge between Steffy and me. You’re trying to make a play for my wife.

Steffy: Okay, both of you. Please stop staring at me like that, it’s no secret that I miss my husband. This was never meant to be permanent, I can’t stay here forever.

Eric: Why not?

Ridge: Wait, we both get that part, but, um… I don’t want to interfere in your marriage, but Sheila’s on the loose, she’s still out there, and Finn is connected to her.

Sheila: Oh, my gosh. Would you just whine a little more, I– I won’t use as much pressure. Stop being a baby.

Deacon: Hey, if I was a baby, somebody would be calling Child Services right now. ‘Cause I am gonna have bruises for a week.

Sheila: Well, you know what, that never seemed to matter to you in the past.

Deacon: It’s the funniest thing. The intensity of the massage just seemed to pick up when I mentioned that there was another woman in Finn’s life. Someone else connected to his happiness.

Sheila: Stop.

Deacon: Steffy, his wife.

Sheila: Why do you feel that you always have to rub that in my face? I– it was an unfortunate… mistake that– that just got out of hand.

Deacon: Yeah. Tell that to Finn.

Sheila: I do. And I’m gonna continue to tell him over and over again until he believes me, until he knows how much I love him. Till he knows that I– I could be good in his life.

Liam: I am not out to sabotage your marriage, Finn. You’re doing that perfectly well on your own.

Finn: You know, you– you talk about this history, this amazing history you have with Steffy, history that I can’t compete with. Well, I know plenty about your past. How you jerked her around, broke her heart more than once. And you’re right, I can’t compete with that, I won’t. ‘Cause I’m better than that. Liam, Steffy’s it for me.

Liam: Well, no, Steffy and your mom are it for you, apparently. Remember your mom, the lunatic who tried to kill your wife?

Finn: Yeah, my wife, do I need to keep reminding you that?

Liam: You don’t need to keep reminding me of that because it’s the fact that Steffy’s your wife that makes your connection to Sheila so unacceptable. It’s your job to get Sheila out of LA, to get her out of our lives. You say you love Steffy, Finn? Great. Prove it. Get rid of Sheila.

Eric: What happened to Finn that you feel safer now? What–

Steffy: He hasn’t given up. He’s taken responsibility for his poor judgment with Sheila. He promised it won’t happen again, and he vowed to protect me and the kids.

Ridge: We’ve heard all this before.

Steffy: But I want to believe him this time, Dad. Granddad, I am so grateful for this time. It has been wonderful, but the kids need to go home. They need their schedules and their routines and they miss home. Not to mention Finn.

Ridge: Okay, I get it. I get all of that, but Sheila is still out there.

Deacon: Yeah, how important you can be in Finn’s life?

Sheila: Yes. Have you already forgotten that I saved Kelly’s life at the beach? And can you imagine what would have happened if I weren’t there? I mean, what, what would have happened to Finn and his precious relationship with his wife then? He got so emotional, Deacon. And he thanked me over and over again, and he called me “Mom.” He doesn’t see me as– as an evil monster. He sees me as his mother. I gave birth to him. And deep down he– he knows that, and what’s most important, is I can see that he feels– that he feels that connection, and Steffy and everyone else, they can– they can try to do what they want to get into Finn’s head to poison him against me… but I really believe, I believe in that unconditional love and that bond between a mother and her son.

Finn: Nothing matters more to me than Steffy and the kids. Of course, I’m gonna keep them safe.

Liam: “Of course”? No, you don’t get to use the phrase “of course” with me when you almost let my daughter drown, and Sheila had to save her.

Finn: Okay, that’s all that matters, okay, and thank God, that Kelly is okay.

Liam: Yeah, thank God she’s okay, but you’re missing the point, Sheila was stalking you. She’s never gonna go away on her own. You have to take action, and I don’t– I don’t care, man. I don’t care if you have to put like, a tracker on her or whatever, but that’s what you should be laser focused on, not coming here, and putting me on notice. No, getting Sheila out of town ’cause your assurances, your words mean nothing to me. Do something.

[ Phone chimes ]

Finn: You’re right. I do need to do something. But so do you. Stop sniffing around. I understand that your marriage is rocky, but that does not give you the right to make a pass at my wife.

Steffy: Look, I am not naive. I realize the threat of Sheila is still very real. I, of all people, should know that. I still get flashes of that night in the alley. I see Finn on the ground. I see Sheila pointing a gun at me. Sound of it firing. Sometimes, I– I look at Finn, and I hate to say it, but I… I see Sheila. Her features, you know, I look in his eyes, and I can see her. She’s there.

Eric: How can you even consider going back to that house?

Steffy: Because I refuse to give up on my husband, my family, I am not losing them. Definitely not because of Sheila.

Ridge: What are you doing? You’re okay with this?

Eric: Am I okay with what?

Ridge: With what– are you okay with Steffy moving into that house? Isolated on the– on that hill in– in Malibu?

Eric: No, no, no. No, I’m not okay with it. I think it’s bad. I think it’s dangerous. But good luck trying to talk her out of anything that she’s decided to do. I mean, Steffy’s hard-headed. Gee, I wonder where she gets that.

Ridge: What does that mean?

Eric: What does that mean?

Ridge: Oh, I’m so– from me?

Eric: Yeah, from you.

Ridge: Oh, okay. You know where I got it, right?

Eric: Yeah.

Ridge: My mother.

Eric: Your mother, yes. [ Eric sighs ]

Ridge: I miss her. Mom should be here, and she’d know what to do.

Eric: If your mother was here, Sheila would not be. Your mother would eat her up and spit her out. She would.

Ridge: I want Steffy to have everything she wants. Her family, her husband, her kids in her house. But Sheila’s still out there. She’s still a problem.

Eric: For everyone.

Sheila: Ah.

Deacon: Look, I don’t say these things to hurt your feelings. I just– I don’t want you to have these lofty expectations and then get disappointed. And then get hurt. I care about you.

Sheila: I know you do. You just wanna keep me from… being upended and heartbroken and I adore you for that. Actually, I love you for that. But I– I’m not giving up on my future. I’m gonna have a life with my son, I am going to have a true relationship with Finn. [ Laughing ] Boy, it’s gonna start today.

Finn: Okay. Okay.

[ Car engine whirring ]

Finn: Oh. Got it.

[ Car door clicks closed ]

[ Door clicks open ]

[ Door clicks closed ]

Finn: Hey. Hey, I, um– I got your text asking me to meet me here, came as fast as I could.

Steffy: Yeah, thanks.

Finn: Yeah.

Steffy: Looks nice in here.

Finn: Well, I, um… I imagined you coming through that door a thousand times, and I didn’t do it any justice. You just– you look beautiful and I’ve– I’ve missed you so much.

Steffy: I’ve missed you too.

Finn: Yeah, this– this place feels way too big, and it’s painfully quiet without you guys.

Steffy: Yeah, that’s what happens when you don’t hear all the screaming and laughing.

Finn: Yeah, well, I’ve missed all of it, I’ve– I’ve missed the sounds of you and Kelly and Hayes, and just the… you know, the sounds of our family, more than you can imagine. So, um, I was hoping that you wanted to meet me here because are you thinking that maybe, you’re um… ready? Because, honey, we have– we have been apart for way too long, I mean… you know, I’ve– I’ve tried, um, passing the time, I’ve tried taking extra shifts, and doing some night swims, and I downloaded that, uh, that app, you know, that one you made me download, of the– the constellations. It still doesn’t look like any of them, but… you know, I’d start a movie, but it just– it’s not the same without you here. I need you, I need you in my arms, cuddled up to me. You’re my puzzle piece. I need you to fall asleep at night. And I need you to be the first thing that I see in the morning. I need my wife, honey. Please, tell me that you’re ready to come home.

Steffy: [ Sighs ] Gosh. I miss my puzzle piece too. Yeah, I love you so much, and the kids miss you, and you’re right. You’re right, I don’t want to be away from you. I wanna get the kids, and I wanna come back here.

Finn: You wanna come back, like… really, yeah?

Steffy: Yeah, I wanna be– I wanna be here with you. I wanna be in bed with you. I wanna be– I wanna be in your arms, I wanna come home. I wanna–
