Thomas: How is this happening? How was steffy shot?
Taylor: We’re all here, baby.
Ridge: She’s right. We’re here. I’m here. Your mom’s here. Your brother’s here. We’re gonna pull you through this. Stay with us.
Deacon: I’m so sorry, sheila. I know how much you loved him.
Sheila: Don’t say “loved.”
Deacon: I can’t believe that finn and steffy were shot. And now he’s gone. Huh.
[ Crickets ]
[ Fire crackling ]
[ Hope giggling ]
Hope: Mm.
Liam: You hear that, right? Silence.
Hope: I can’t remember the last time that we were alone. I say we take full advantage.
Liam: Oh my god, I love it when you read my mind
[ Both giggling ] Get this off. Whoa! Oh!
[ Throat clearing ]
Hope: Mom.
Liam: Hi!
Hope: I told you the kids were going to be with aunt donna tonight.
Brooke: Right, uh, say no more, sorry.
Liam: No, no, no, stop. Wait– wait, wait, please, please come in. It’s fine it’s fine. It’s fine.
Brooke: Oh, really? I really don’t want to interrupt your evening.
Hope: Uh, no, it’s– it’s all right, just. Stay, talk. You obviously have something on your mind.
Liam: And plus, who are we kidding? We love hearing the dirt, so.
Brooke: Are you sure?
Liam: Yeah.
Hope: Mom. What’s going on?
Brooke: I’m worried about ridge.
Hope: Has something happened?
Brooke: It’s this feeling I have. Uh, a feeling that’s not really based on anything, except the connection that I have with ridge. It’s hard to explain. It’s just that I feel like there’s something terribly wrong.
Ridge: Hey. I’m going to need you to do something for me. For all of us. All right, my fierce, determined daughter. I want you to take all the strength you have. And come back to us. It’s not gonna end like this. We’re family, we’re all here for you. It’s not going to end because some random person wants to take away our future.
Deacon: I– I don’t know what to say. Or how to help you. I mean, all you wanted was a place in finn’s life. And now, this. It’s so unbearable.
Sheila: You said that you– you found them in the alley behind il giardino?
Deacon: I went to take the trash out, and, uh… I just– I saw ’em lying on the ground.
Sheila: Did you see anything else? Who might have done this?
Deacon: Whoever did this, he’s long gone. I mean, what kind of lowlife shoots two innocent people in cold blood?
Steffy: No!
You shot your son.
We need to get help!
Sheila: I didn’t mean to.
Steffy: You’re sick.
You’re going to prison for
the rest of your life.
Sheila: Put it down now!

Deacon: Sheila. I’m with you.
[ Kissing ]
Brooke: Ridge and I have always been able to pick up on what the other is going through. And right now, something feels off.
Hope: I mean that tracks. Ridge is trying to make sense of what happened. He’s apart from you right now.
Liam: Yeah, I mean, what– taylor’s presence obviously complicates things, but it’s gotta be a good thing that, that ridge is spending his time surrounded by people who love him, and not, you know, brooding alone in a hotel room. I speak from experience.
[ Hope laughing ]
Hope: Mom. Ridge… I think knows where he’s supposed to be, and I believe that he knows that deep down inside, and no amount of time spent in steffy’s guesthouse will change that. I do believe that he will eventually come back home to you.
Brooke: I’m gonna hold on to that.
[ Hope chuckling ] And in the meantime, maybe it will be good for ridge to spend some time with his children. Especially steffy. He loves her and adores her, and I don’t know why, but he feels like he wasn’t there enough as her father when she was younger and he didn’t give her enough attention. So, now he can take advantage of the time that he has with her. Yeah, he’s got a lot to make up for. Life is short.
Thomas: Can’t believe this. You. Lying here so still. These wires plugged into you, it’s– you’re always in motion, steff. You can’t stay like this. You need to come back, okay? Because there are a lot of people that need you. Kelly needs you, and hayes needs you. Douglas needs you. And I need you. You’re my best friend. You always pull me up, when I fall down. And you’re there to pull me down when my ego gets too big. Steffy. You’re so strong. Use that strength. Come back to us. Please. Please.
[ Door creaking ]
Doctor: We need to examine her.
Taylor: Of course.
Doctor: Any changes?
Ridge: No, uh, the same.
Doctor: Alright.
Ridge: We’ll be right outside.
Taylor: We’re not going anywhere.
Thomas: What the hell happened tonight?
Ridge: I don’t know. We’re all trying to– process that finn is gone.
Taylor: God, it doesn’t even make sense. He’S… he’s just gone, just like that. Who would do this? What kind of monster would– would shoot our daughter? Ill finn and– and leave them lying in an alley. Who would do this?
Sheila: I– I just, I don’t understand how this could happen. What was he even doing in the alley?
Deacon: I don’t know.
Sheila: It just doesn’t make any sense.
Deacon: Yeah, it probably never will.
Sheila: I was getting to know him. He was letting me know him. I just– I love him so much. He was– he was my life. He was my future, and now he’s ju– just gone. He’s gone. He’s just gone.
[ Sobbing ]
Deacon: Sheila I’m so sorry.
[ Sobbing ] I’m so sorry.
Sheila: Why, why finn? Why?
[ Sobbing ] To be a thriver with metastatic breast cancer means…
Brooke: Ridge still hasn’t responded.
Liam: I mean he could just I– be out to dinner or in a meeting.
Brooke: Yeah, but it would be easy for him to just pick up the phone and tell me that.
Hope: This feeling that you’re having is really doing a number on you, huh?
Brooke: I can’t shake it, which means there’s something to it.
Liam: I, uh, take it that means this has happened before.
Brooke: I know it sounds crazy, but ridge and I know, on a visceral level, when something has shifted for the other, and the longer it takes him to answer the phone, the more and more worried I get. He’s my husband. I still love him. And if ridge is going through something, I want to be there for him.
Ridge: This doesn’t seem real.
Thomas: Those machines.
Taylor: Honey, those machines are keeping her alive. As long–
Ridge: What happened? What happened in that alley?
Thomas: Why were they there in the first place? I mean, steffy can’t–
Taylor: She’s not going to. She’s not going anywhere, thomas. Conscious or not, she knows she has to be here for her children. Okay? She’s not going anywhere. Stop. No.
Thomas: I wonder– I wonder if she, uh… she saw it? Finn.
Ridge: Oh, I hope not.
Taylor: Oh god, me too. Oh, god. Sheila. I can’t help but think about sheila right now, even. No matter what she’s done in the past, she’s– she’s a mother, she’s– I can’t imagine the devastation she’s going to feel when she finds out that– that finn is gone.
Sheila: You know, I– how could everything change so fast? Like there’s no time. Do you think– my son knew that I loved him?
Deacon: Yeah. I do.
Sheila: I want to go to him. I want to go to the hospital. I just– I– just–
Deacon: Hold on.
Sheila: I just want to see him one more time.
Deacon: Okay, just a heads up. You may run into steffy’s family. I had to call ridge and tell him that his daughter had been shot. I’m guessing that ridge and taylor and thomas made a beeline for her bedside so that they could– they could will her back.
Sheila: What– what are you saying?
Deacon: I called ridge. I– I told.
Sheila: What–will her back?
Deacon: Yeah, they’re praying that she pulls through.
Sheila: Pulls through? Steffy’s alive?
Deacon: Yeah, thank god. Yes. Here’s to real flavors…
Hope: Mom, you’ll hear when ridge texts or calls.
Brooke: I know, honey, I know it’s silly to keep checking, I just want to make sure everything is okay. It doesn’t have to be a big conversation. I just want to know I’m putting too much stock in this vague intuition.
Hope: Well, is there anything we can do?
Liam: Yeah, whatever you need, we’re here for you.
Brooke: That means so much to me, really thank you. I love you.
Hope: Aw, mom, we love you. It’s okay.
[ Loud knocking ] Oh!
Liam: Deacon.
Deacon: I– I just wanted to check in, make sure you’re okay.
Hope: Yeah, what why? What’s going on?
Deacon: You haven’t heard.
Liam: Uh, evidently not.
Brooke: Is it ridge? Is something wrong?
Deacon: You– you need to brace yourself for shock.
Hope: Okay, dad, you’re scaring me.
Brooke: Just say it.
Deacon: I was working at il giardino tonight. I was– taking the trash out in the alley. And that’s when I saw them on the ground.
Liam: Saw who?
Deacon: Finn and steffy. They were shot.
Thomas: Yeah, thanks. I’ll keep you posted.
Taylor: Is donna gonna watch the kids?
Thomas: Yeah. She’ll, she’ll watch douglas and beth and amelia is going to watch kelly and hayes.
Ridge: That little boy lost his dad tonight.
Taylor: Steffy’s going to need us like never before, especially now that finn is–
Ridge: Two of them had their whole future ahead of them.
Thomas: Crazy. I mean, how is it that finn is gone, and steffy is in there fighting for her life?
Taylor: Thomas, she’s going to pull through. She’s going to make it. Because we lost phoebe, we’re not gonna–
Ridge: Don’t–don’t do that. Don’t do that. She– she’s gonna be fine. She’s going to be here for her kids. She’s going to be okay. All right?
Taylor: Ah, ridge, I’m scared.
Ridge: Me too.
[ Elevator dinging ]
Thomas: Mom, dad.
Sheila: How’s steffy.
Thomas: She– she’s alive.
Ridge: Barely, but we’re grateful.
Taylor: Sheila. I’m so sorry. The loss and the pain you must be feeling right now. Oh.
Sheila: I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.
