Quinn: Aw, I’m sure steffy
Eric: Apparently steffy had a really wonderful homecoming last night. The babies were very happy to have their mama home.
Quinn: Aw, I’m sure steffy felt the same way.
Eric: Yeah.
Quinn: Although, it must have been bittersweet, given what happened to finn, knowing that their family isn’t going to be whole again, not the way it used to be.
Eric: It’s just such a senseless tragedy, some random back alley robbery gone wrong. I just– I just hope they find that scumbag that did it.
Quinn: Steffy still can’t remember who shot her and finn?
Eric: No, but it’s just a matter of time.
Quinn: Ugh.
[ Phone chiming ] Unless the memory is so traumatic that she never regains it, you know? And in which case– eric? Hey. Hi. Thought I lost you. Where’d you go?
Carter: Eric, I have these contracts– I can come back.
Hope: Liam, it’s me again. Uh, officially starting to get worried now. So, can you please get back to me? Thanks. Bye. Hi.
Brooke: Hope? What is it? What’s going on, honey?
Hope: I don’t know a where he is. Liam never came home last night. He didn’t come home.
Liam: [ Exhaling ] Oh! Oh no, no… hope.
[ Liam sighing ]
Steffy: She has always been a daddy’s girl.
Liam: Yeah.
Steffy: When did she come out?
Liam: Right after you went to bed.
Steffy: Thank you for staying the night. It meant a lot to the kids. Their mom, too.
Eric: Carter, it’s all right, come on in. Come on in. We’re just talking about steffy.
Carter: Yes. She was released from the hospital last night.
Quinn: Yeah, she’s doing much better.
Eric: Thank god. A long road ahead, though.
Carter: Yeah, dealing with the loss of finn.
Quinn: Yeah, it won’t be easy. I mean, what they shared was intense and passionate.
Eric: It’ll definitely take time. It will. But she has her children. She has her family.
Carter: And a loving grandfather who will be there for her whenever she needs.
Eric: That’s right. And apparently liam, he’s stepped up too, I’m told.
Carter: It’s no surprise there. It’s no secret how much liam still loves and cares for steffy.
Eric: Yeah.
Brooke: Wait a minute. You’re telling me you haven’t seen or heard from liam since he went to steffy’s last night?
Hope: Yeah. Yeah, I obviously waited up for him, fell asleep on the couch, woke up this morning, and he still was not here.
Thomas: Hey. Uh, just thought I’d stop by and see if douglas is back from his sleepover yet.
Hope: He is not.
Thomas: Ah. Well, obviously my timing sucks. So, heh, I’ll just go.
Hope: Hey, uh, just fyi in case you were wondering, um. Liam never made it back last night, so.
Thomas: Wait. Seriously? Liam stayed the night at steffy’s?
Liam: I gotta charge my phone. I fell asleep last night before I could text hope. But she’s so peaceful, I don’t want to wake her up.
Steffy: Hayes is too, I just checked on him. He’s still in dream land.
Liam: Yeah?
Steffy: Yeah.
Liam: How about you? How did you– you okay? D’you sleep okay?
Steffy: I mean, I’m just glad to be out of the hospital, not attached to all the tubes and machines.
Liam: Yeah. I don’t blame you. Just ’cause you’re out of the hospital doesn’t mean you should not be taking it easy.
Steffy: I know.
Liam: All right.
Steffy: Bridget already laid down the law. I’ll be good.
Liam: Good. Hey.
Kelly: Daddy, you’re still here.
Liam: Yeah, I am. Of course I’m here. I’m always gonna be here for you, and your mommy.
[ Chuckling ] I’m amber, I’ve lost 128 pounds with golo,
Carter: Do kelly and hayes know about finn yet?
Eric: As of last night, no, not yet. But, uh, steffy’s not going to be able to put it off for much longer.
Eric: Well, hayes is still so young, I doubt he’d understand. But kelly might.
Eric: Well, luckily, her father is around there. I mean, liam– liam will be a great help in all this.
Carter: To steffy too, I imagine.
Eric: Yeah.
[ Phone chiming ] All right, I have to go.
Quinn: Oh. A– a meeting?
Eric: No, uh, pickleball.
Quinn: Oh. Oh, well, I’m so happy you’re staying so active, honey.
Carter: Eric, I thought we were gonna go over these contracts.
Eric: Oh, we’ll do that later.
Quinn: Oh, but maybe after your game, we could grab some lunch?
Eric: Yeah, we’ll see.
Quinn: Oh… ‘kay.
[ Eric closing door ]
Carter: I don’t mean to pry, but is everything all right between you and eric?
Thomas: You know what, I– I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that liam stayed the night at steffy’S.
Brooke: Yeah, he’s probably just trying to be nice. Didn’t want steffy to feel alone, even though she’s not alone. I mean, she does have her mother and father there.
Thomas: I– don’t disagree, but… you know what? Not going to get in the middle of this. You will talk to your husband when he gets home.
Brooke: Look, why don’t you just give him another call?
Hope: Oh, and get his voicemail again?
Thomas: She has a point.
Brooke:: Oh, thomas, please. You’re not helping.
Thomas: Fine. I won’t say anything else. Except that–
Brooke: Oh…
Thomas: We all know how liam feels about steffy, okay? Like, yes, of course, he– he’s married to hope. And of course he– he has a family with her. And he loves her. But he also loves steffy. Look, this is just liam. This is– this is how it is. It’s who liam is, when it comes to steffy.
[ Brooke chuckling ]
Brooke: What are you, a broken record?
Thomas: It’s the truth.
Liam: All right. Plug this in. That should turn on in a minute. Chooga, chooga, chooga, chooga…
Steffy: Oh, look at that piggyback ride.
Liam: Yeah.
Kelly: You’re next, mommy.
Steffy: I am.
[ Laughing ]
Liam: I think mommy’s going to give you the best piggyback ride– actually no, you… actually, mommy’s not going to be doing any piggyback rides ’cause uh, we have to go easy on her. She just got home from the hospital, huh?
Kelly: Okay, I’ll save my biggest, bestest hug until you’re all better.
[ Liam laughing ]
Liam: That a girl.
Kelly: It was fun having daddy stay. Right, mommy?
Steffy: Yes, sweetie. It is.
Kelly: I was sad that mommy was gone.
Liam: Yeah, I was, too. I was really sad. But you know what? Mommy’s home now. She’s home and–
Steffy: And you don’t have to worry. I’m not going to leave you or your little brother ever again.
Kelly: Promise?
Steffy: Pinky swear.
[ Kelly yawning ]
Liam: Oh.
Steffy: I think someone’s still tired.
Liam: I think so, too.
Steffy: Why doesn’t daddy bring you into your own bed? You can drift off for a little bit, okay?
Kelly: Will you still be here when I wake up? I don’t want you to go. You said that you would shave your eyebrow off
Quinn: I’m not really sure how to answer that.
Carter: So, you’re not sure if things are right between you and eric?
Quinn, uh, I’m– I’m sure that I love my husband, and he’s given me the best years of my life. But… like I confided to you earlier, things haven’t been the same between us since…
Carter: Since you and i became involved.
Quinn: Yes, which I take full responsibility for. I never should have been unfaithful to my husband, no matter what was going on between us at the time.
Carter: When you needed someone to confide in, someone who’d listen and understand.
Quinn: I know. And you did. You listened to me, and you didn’t judge me. But I let it go a little too far.
[ Quinn sighing ]
Carter: We both did, and we paid the price.
Quinn: Yeah, but eric’s been able to forgive you. You know? Everything’s fine between you. He’s been able to move past all of that for you. I just– it gives me hope that maybe he’ll be able to move past it for me too, and that at some point, our marriage will get back into sync.
Carter: You know how much I want that for you, right?
Quinn: I do. I know all you want for me is my happiness, carter. And I want the same thing for you.
Brooke: Thomas, please. Hope doesn’t need you trying to undermine her marriage.
Thomas: That is not what I’m doing. I’m just pointing out that liam can’t seem to not–
Brooke: We are all aware that liam and steffy have a history. A history that you tried to take advantage of just to get close to my daughter.
Hope: Okay, mom. Stop. Please, both of you. All right? I realize, better than anyone, that steffy and liam will always have a bond. And I have advocated more than anyone that our families should get along and try to be supportive of one another, especially now. However, there is a way to go about doing this that is respectful to both of the families. Liam’s with me, and his with steffy.
Thomas: I completely agree. But shouldn’t you be saying this to liam instead of to brooke and me?
[ Door opening ]
[ Liam chuckling ]
Liam: She– she felt right back to sleep.
Steffy: Not surprised. Did she ask about finn at all?
Liam: Um, no, but… yeah, she– she can tell he’s missing, yeah.
Steffy: Well, she’s used to him spending long hours at the hospital. But I’m sure she’s realized something.
Liam: Yeah. But listen, just– don’t worry about that now because we’re going to– we’re going to do it when you’re ready. And we’ll tell her together. And we’ll break it to her really gently. And we’ll just– we’ll find the right way to do it. It’s all we can do.
[ Phone ringing ] That would be hope. Hey.
Hope: Thank goodness. I– I’ve been worried about you.
Liam: I– I bet you have. I am so sorry. Kelly was scared last night. She wanted her daddy. And then I fell asleep with her on the couch. And then my phone died, and I–
Hope: No, I– I get it. It’s just I fell asleep waiting for you. And then I woke up and you weren’t here and it– you know what, never mind. Um… how’s steffy? Is she settled in?
Liam: Yeah, I think so.
Hope: Great. Well, I’m sure you’ve been a big help. But you know, she also has her parents there. So, it’d be nice if you could come home.
Liam: Oh, y–yes, definitely. Um, I just, uh… yeah. I’m on my way soon.
Okay, bye.
Steffy: You’re not in trouble, are you?
Liam: No. No, hope… she understands. Trust me.
Steffy: Does she? Really?
Carter: I’m glad that we can still talk like this.
Quinn: Me too. I really value our friendship. More than you know. I like having carter walton, coo, in my corner.
[ Carter chuckling ]
Carter: Always. But you should know that eric’s your greatest champion. And it’s clear how much you love him. You have a wonderful husband.
Quinn: I know.
Carter: And the rest will work itself out.
Quinn: Yeah. You’re right. I just have to remember how lucky I am to have such an honest and wonderful man who’s completely committed to me.
Donna: My sweet, adorable, honey bear.
Hope: Liam is on his way home now. He, um, stayed the night because kelly was scared and she needed him. He was there for his little girl, the way a good father should be.
Liam: Ah, you don’t worry about hope and me, okay? Like, she– she’s very well aware of the horror you’re going through right now.
Steffy: I know, but I don’t want her to think–
Liam: I– I know what you’re– look, regardless of the history between you and hope, she is 100% supportive of my relationship with kelly. And she knows that I was here last night for kelly, too. And besides, I’m the one who messed up by falling asleep on the couch and not texting her, so–
Steffy: I’m sorry. I am.
Liam: Why?
Steffy: Because… I’m trying to be strong, you know, for my children and my family. But to know that finn’s not coming home… that hayes is never going to see his daddy again, like…
[ Crying ] I miss him so much. And he’s gone. He’s gone forever. But I have to keep moving forward. I have to– oh god, I have to, I have to for hayes, and for kelly.
Liam: Okay, but… not at the expense of taking care of yourself. You have to heal yourself first, and that’s not going to happen overnight. You have to give yourself time, right? To breathe, to– to process the grief, to process, to mourn finn.
Steffy: I just felt–
Liam: And you have so many people– listen to me, you have so many people in your life who love and care about you. Your mom and dad, they would do anything for you. I would do anything for you. I mean, I’ll be here, too. The whole time.
Steffy: Thank you. I just felt alone last night. And it meant a lot that you stayed, not just for kelly, but for me, too. And I’m really, really grateful for you.
Liam: You–
Steffy: I am. I really, really am.
Liam: You don’t have to thank me for anything, ever. It’s not how this works. And me and kelly, we’re a family. And we’re always going to be a family, okay?
[ Steffy sobbing ]
