‘THE CON’ RETURNS WITH FIVE ALL-NEW EPISODES IN MARCH BEGINNING WITH THE INFAMOUS FYRE FESTIVAL FAIL AND THE FIRST TELEVISED INTERVIEW WITH FESTIVAL MASTERMIND BILLY MCFARLAND SINCE HIS IMPRISONMENT
New Episode Premieres Wednesday, March 3 (10:00-11:00 p.m. EST), on ABC
“The Fyre Festival Con” – ABC News’ “The Con” will return with five all-new episodes in March, beginning with the infamous Fyre Festival and the first televised interview with festival mastermind Billy McFarland since his imprisonment. The first new episode includes more exclusive interviews with former Fyre Festival employees, several festival goers and McFarland’s mentor and event producer, Andy King. “The Con” airs WEDNESDAY, MARCH 3 (10:00-11:00 p.m. EST), on ABC and can also be viewed the next day on demand and on Hulu.
Entrepreneur Billy McFarland aimed to pull off his biggest idea yet in spring 2017 – the Fyre Festival. To bring it to life, McFarland secured investors and hype with the help of a costly, viral promotional video full of the world’s biggest influencers and models on the beaches of Great Exuma, Bahamas. The Fyre Festival quickly became one of the hottest and priciest tickets of the year. With only six months to plan, McFarland and his team scrambled to make good on his promise of an ultra-luxurious festival experience, complete with an all-star lineup of music performances, lavish cabanas, celebrity chefs and more. Instead, hundreds of guests arrived to what was ultimately an unfinished campsite, far from luxury. The disastrous conditions quickly went viral on social media and led to performers canceling and guests shocked with disappointment. Everyone wanted answers and most importantly a refund, and all eyes were on McFarland. Ultimately, McFarland left behind a trail of unpaid debts and is currently serving six years in prison and was ordered to pay back those he defrauded, totaling $26 million.
“The Fyre Festival Con” is produced by Industrial Media’s The Intellectual Property Corporation (IPC) for ABC News. David Sloan is senior executive producer, and Carrie Cook and Colleen Halpin serve as executive producers for ABC News. At Forrester, Steffy and Ridge discuss Hope and everything that’s been going on. Steffy regrets what she and Liam did to Hope, but she already loves her baby. Finn arrives and checks in on Steffy to make sure she’s taking care of herself. He is upbeat and supportive, praising her. He intends to be there with her throughout her pregnancy. She is touched, and Ridge is happy to hear it. After Ridge leaves, Steffy regrets that the baby is not Finn’s and wishes she knew why she let him down. They hug. Meanwhile, Thomas talks to Hope about fashion, but she doesn’t listen. She’s still thinking about the situation with Liam and Steffy. Thomas is sympathetic, which she appreciates. Vinny listens in and then walks in, awkwardly telling Hope that he hard about what happened. He knows that Thomas will be there for her. Hope leaves, and Thomas yells at Vinny. Vinny hints that Thomas will thank him one day. When Vinny mentions that the fetal DNA doesn’t match Finn’s DNA, Thomas gets suspicious about what Vinny did.

Primetime TV Review: “Punky Brewster (2021)”

TV Review!

“Punky Brewster (2021)” Review on by Eva 2/27/2021

I was excited to watch the new Punky Brewster show now streaming on Peacock because I used to watch the original show…it was one of my favorite shows that I watched with my dad. I don’t expect much for reboot shows because very few of them can remain true to the original show and add a fresh update and keep my interest. The only other show that managed to do that in my opinion, although it had a slow start in its first season, was Fuller House on Netflix. Punky Brewster on Peacock does however manage to have an update that makes sense and the cast is great and the show is well written. Punky is now a recently divorced mother of three who still has feelings for her husband Travis (Freddie Prince Jr). Punky was a famous photojournalist who became a special occasion photographer because she wanted to spend time with her kids. Punky’s best friend Cherie (Cherie Johnson) now is the director of the orphanage where Punky lived until Henry became Punky’s foster father and eventually adopted Punky.

Punky has three children Hannah (Lauren Lindsey Donzis) Diego (Noah Cotrell) and Daniel (Oliver de Los Santos) Punky feels her life is a mess right now since she is trying to figure out how to be a divorced mom and handle the work/life balance. Cherie asks Punky to keep one of the little girls from the orphanage Izzy (Quinn Copeland) at her house for two weeks while she gets the paperwork together for her to have a couple foster her. Cherie is afraid that Izzy will run away from the orphanage before she can get the papers ready.

I really enjoyed this show. It is rated PG and I do suggest parents watch it with their kids because it deals with topics like drug abuse and child abandonment so your children may have questions for you. I think this show will be a hit for Peacock and it is worth watching because although it is modern it has the feel of a classic 80’s sitcom. I give this show a 5 out of 5 stars.

MORE INFORMATION:

Watch Punky Brewster, the continuation of the 80s sitcom. Punky Brewster (Soleil Moon Frye) is now a single mother of three trying to get her life back on track when she meets Izzy (Quinn Copeland), a girl who reminds her of her younger self. History repeats itself as Punky welcomes Izzy into her family with the help of her childhood friend Cherie and her love interest Travis (Freddie Prinze Jr). Upon the return of her long-lost mother, Punky must navigate the identity issues that link her past and her future.

Recap written by Michele and Cheryl

Susan called Kristen to let her know she lied to her. She knew that Kristen had another agenda to keep her in prison. Kristen wanted her to hang on a little longer. Kristen tried everything she could to to get her to stay in prison for her. Allie talked to Nicole about Claire recording Charlie’s confession. She told her how Charlie found out about it and tried to hurt Claire. She didn’t want him to do anything to hurt her. She wanted to stop him. Nicole wanted to know what happened. She told her how she wanted to get him out of her life for good. She decided not to focus on the negative things and be happy. She considered Charlie dead to her. Rafe questioned Sami about being at Charlie’s place. She was vague about what she was doing there. He asked her when she arrived back in town. She gave him a few details. She didn’t seem too worried about Charlie being dead. She felt like he got what deserved by being dead. He wanted her to answer his questions or he would have her do it at the station. She kept quiet so he called the murder in to the police. Kristen was relieved that Susan would stay in prison when Ben and Claire arrived at the townhouse. They needed her help to find Ciara. Kristen didn’t know how to help them. They told her how she could help like she did before. They told her about the book and about Ben’s dream. Kristen had to play it off as if she lost the feeling she had. She didn’t give them any useful information so they ended up leaving.

Tripp went to see Ava at Rafe’s house. She let him know that Charlie threatened to kill him. Tripp wasn’t worried about him now. She told him how Rafe went to check out a gunshot at Charlie’s apartment. Eli showed up at Rafe’s place to tell Ava about Charlie being dead. She thought he committed suicide. Eli informed them that the police were talking to a person of interest, but there weren’t any arrests made. He asked them about their whereabouts for the night before. They told them their stories. Eli seemed satisfied with their answers for the time being and left. Ava told Tripp she was glad Charlie was dead. Rafe took Sami to the station for more questioning. He wanted to know why Sami was in town. She told him how she talked to Lucas about the fact Charlie wasn’t getting charged with Allie’s rape. She couldn’t believe Charlie said their sex was consensual. She said he got what he had coming. She asked Rafe if he thought she did it. He admitted he thought she was guilty. He told her how she would have been screaming more if she were being framed. He noticed how she wasn’t saying much. He wanted to help her out, but she had to talk to him. Sami told him that she wanted to talk to a lawyer. Eli went to see Claire to let her know that the restraining order was done and that Charlie was dead. Claire thought about what Allie said about Charlie. Eli wanted to know what she was thinking. She lied and said she was trying to process what he told her. Rafe went to Nicole’s place to talk to her and Allie. He told them what happened to Charlie. He let them know he had someone in custody. He said the person was Allie. Sami sat at the station and thought about what happened in Charlie’s apartment. She thought about standing over him with a gun in her hand. She told him how he got what he deserved.

In Hope’s office, Paris tells Katie and Hope about her ideas about diversity for Hope for the Future. Hope is distracted, thinking about her marital problems. Katie tells Paris that she likes the ideas and asks Hope if they can get done by the summer. Hope doesn’t answer, so Katie can tell she has a lot on her mind. Hope apologizes. Katie tells her that they’re both here for her. Hope wishes that fateful night had never happened. The women chat about it. Hope can’t get past the fact that Steffy is carrying Liam’s baby. Hope tries to get back to work, but Katie and Paris are there to support her. In fact, Paris points out that this is completely on brand for her. They keep supporting Hope. Hope admits she loves Liam, and she doesn’t want to give up on their family, but she thinks this might be one betrayal too many. Hope is sorry for bringing her problems to work. Katie and Paris keep supporting her. Elswhere at Forrester, Thomas leaves a long message on Vinny’s phone. He demands to know the truth (about whether he changed the paternity test). Steffy walks in and can tell that Thomas looks annoyed. She wants to know what’s going on. Thomas is evasive but assures her that he’ll find out what Vinny’s up to. This doesn’t reassure a worried Steffy. She keeps questioning Thomas. At the lab, Vinny sees Thomas’ texts, which he’s ignoring. Hope arrives, surprised, not realizing they were in there. Thomas leaves to deal with Vinnie, who keeps ignoring his texts and voicemails. Vinny finally answers when Thomas calls. Thomas demands to know if he messed with the paternity test.  Thomas tells him to meet him at his place, so Vinny agrees, reluctantly.

Hope and Steffy have a chat about Steffy’s pregnancy and morning sickness. Things are a little awkward. Hope wonders if she’s going to find out what gender her baby is. Steffy wants to wait to find out. Hope wishes Steffy and her baby the best. They bond, as they often have in the past, over their children. Steffy admires what a great stepmom Hope has been. Steffy apologizes again for turning Hope’s world upside down. At Spencer, Flo and Wyatt talk about Liam and Hope’s problems. Flo wants to reach out to Hope. She’s been trying to move past her part in keeping Beth from Liam and Hope. Wyatt thinks they’ve all moved on and found forgiveness. Flo hopes he’s right. They discuss her past. Wyatt thinks she could cut herself some slack, but she thinks she’ll always carry the guilt around. She’d hoped that she would be closer to the other Logans by now. Wyatt gives her a pep talk. Flo talks about her feelings – finding out that she has more relatives, and then how she screwed everything up with them. Wyatt feels bad for her. He goes to visit Katie at Forrester. She thinks that he might be there to plead Bill’s case, but he assures her that he’s not, even though he would love to see them back together. He’s there on behalf of another one of her relatives.

Primetime DVD Review: “Rick and Morty: Seasons 1-4” [Blu-ray]

DVD Review!

Rick and Morty: Seasons 1-4 [Blu-ray] DVD cover

“Rick and Morty: Seasons 1-4” [Blu-ray] Review by Suzanne 2/25/21

This is a very funny animated show with extremely devoted fans of all ages. It’s never been my type of show (in part because I hate that type of animation), but I can see why everyone loves it. The humor is really edgy and hyperkinetic. It will probably make you laugh – especially if you have a fairly juvenile sense of humor.

This is a great set to have for any fan of the show because not only does it have all of the episodes, but it has many great features and extras as well.  The show is currently airing season 5, so this is a great way to catch up before watching the current episodes.

Orpheus said he was blackmailing Victor. He said he needed proof that Ciara was alive in order to get Victor to get him out of there. Evan didn’t know about texting the pictures. Orpheus told him he couldn’t go to the prison and bring them to him. Evan said he had a choice. Ben told Claire that he went to see Vincent and found out he was dead. He said he and Shawn went to Rhodes’ apartment. He wondered if Shawn told her everything. She said there was a lot going on. John told Marlena that he didn’t remember what happened. He said he had a pain in his head and blacked out. She asked how long he was blacked out. He said he didn’t know. Orpheus told Evan that they were a team. He said they were in it together. Evan wanted to know what he got out of it. Orpheus said he and Evan could go anywhere they wanted once he got out of prison. Evan said he didn’t change him mind about being around him. He said Orpheus gave him orders. He said he wanted to make Ciara pay for what she did. He said he was the one in charge. Orpheus said he couldn’t have him challenge him. Evan wanted to know what he was going to do about it. When Orpheus was about to tell him, Evan hung up. Claire told Ben what happened with the recording. Ben said she had the confession. She said Charlie erased it. Ben thought he was in jail, but she said he wasn’t arrested. She said she didn’t have to worry about Charlie. John said he felt better now. Marlena wanted to get him checked out. Rafe told Ava that it was understandable why she felt the way she did about Charlie after what her father did. She said Charlie wasn’t Tripp and his father wasn’t the man she loved. She said she could barely look at Charlie. She said her father had Charlie’s father raise him. She said she was cold to Charlie. She said Charlie blamed himself for why she acted the way she did. She said he tried to get him to love her, but she wouldn’t do it. Clyde told Orpheus that he heard his conversation. Clyde asked if he was talking to his son. He asked if his son refused to listen to his father. Orpheus asked what was it to him. Clyde asked if it had to do with Ciara. Ciara asked Evan if he was trying to ransom her. She said he should do it because he would be rich. He said some things are more important than money. Claire told Ben that they could find Ciara. She said they could go to Susan. She said if Susan touched the box, she might be able to tell them where Ciara was. Rafe told Ava that it was possible that he could change. She didn’t think he would. While they were talking, Rafe got a call about someone hearing a gunshot at Charlie’s apartment. She thought Charlie might have killed himself. Orpheus told Clyde to mind his own business. Clyde said it was his business. He said he was going to get to the bottom of if. Ciara told Evan to shoot her and get it over with. Rafe went to Charlie’s apartment and found him dead on the floor. When Rafe was about to call for help, Sami showed up.

Recap written by Suzanne

At Forrester, Finn yells at Liam about what he’s been doing. He says that both Hope and Steffy deserve better. Liam assures him that he knows that he messed up. Finn tells him that he needs to respect boundaries. Liam regrets what he did, but Finn wonders if he really does. All Liam can do is keep apologizing and swear that he will do better. Meanwhile, at Steffy’s beach house, Steffy and Hope talk about the future with Steffy’s baby (with Liam). Steffy apologizes for sleeping with Liam and hurting Hope. She wants to move forward with Finn. Hope thinks they will get through this, but she’s not so sure that she and Liam will. Finn returns, so Steffy apologizes some more. She feels shame and regret, but he urges her to get past that, for the health of the baby. Finn assures her that he’ll care about her, no matter what. Steffy tells him that she feels lucky to have him in her life, and in her child’s life. He admits that he’s disappointed that the child isn’t his. He blames Liam, but not her or the baby. He accepts her and her baby. He lets her know that he went to yell at Liam, whom he blames for everything.

Also at Forrester, Thomas keeps wondering if Vinny switched the paternity tests. He does a little research online. Hope comes in, hearing him ask “Vinny, what did you do?” So she wonders what he’s talking about. He covers and asks her how she’s doing. She’s still reeling from what’s been going on. Liam arrives and lurks nearby, eavesdropping for a second. Hope wonders if Liam knows how difficult this all is, and he walks in, saying he doesn’t blame her. Hope admits that she’s been completely gutted by what’s going on. Liam beats himself up some more and hopes that they can accept what’s going on and move past this. Thomas adds in his two cents that things would have been different if the test had turned out differently. He leaves them alone to talk. Vinny arrives at Thomas’ office, at his request. Thomas wants to know what Vinny was hinting at before, about the paternity test. Vinny tries to avoid answering his questions. Thomas asks him outright if changed the results of Steffy’s paternity test.

Primetime DVD Review: “Victor and Valentino: Folk Art Foes”

DVD Review!

Victor and Valentino: Folk Art Foes DVD cover

“Victor and Valentino: Folk Art Foes” Review by Suzanne 2/25/21

This show airs on Cartoon Network as “Victor and Valentino.” I reviewed it in 2019. I’m not sure why they chose to name the DVD as “Folk Art Foes” rather than just, say, “Season One.” I supposed it might be due to the fact that there are 39 episodes in season one, and this disk has only 18 episodes.

Anyway, my opinion of the show hasn’t changed. I’m glad it’s very successful and that they’re working on a third season! It’s a good animated supernatural show for kids that uses historical Mexican folk lore in the storytelling.

Victor and Valentino are half-brothers who live in the small town of “Monte Macabre” in Mexico. They explore supernatural happenings, aided by the ghost of their grandmother.

Sadly, the DVD has no features or extras of any kind. That’s too bad. It would have been nice to see some kind of feature that talks about the development of the show or the voice actors behind the characters.

Here’s a really good review that goes into way more detail than mine.

Interview with Dana Drori, Alexandra Pechman, and Clara Aranovich of “Into the Dark: Tentacles” on HULU by Suzanne 2/18/21

This was a fun Zoom interview with these three women: the star, writer and director of this show. I was a bit nervous, and I think it’s because I’ve only done 3 Zoom interviews so far, and with the previous 2, I couldn’t see my face. It was set up differently. They were all very nice and patient with me, though. I really enjoyed speaking with these women. I hope you can watch this HULU show because it’s a good horror story.

Thank you to SciFiVision for letting us do this EXCLUSIVE interview!

Here is the audio version of it.
