Deacon: Wait a second. Wait. You’re barring me from the property?

Brooke: Something I should have done a while ago.

Hope: Okay, so this is not coming from ridge?

Brooke: No, honey, this is coming from me. Ridge voiced his opinion before and I never listened. I should have listened the first 100 times he said it. But I am now. And it’s very clear to me. I just hope it’s not too late. You can’t be here, deacon. Not anymore. I’m sorry. That’s just the way it has to be.

Deacon: You’re forgetting one little detail. My daughter lives here.

Brooke: Right, but L.A. Is a big place. I mean, there’s a lot of places that you can actually meet up. Just doesn’t have to be here. And, honey, I do support your relationship with your father, but I need some support, too. And I love my husband, and I want him to move back here. I’m not going to risk my marriage one more day.

[Door opening and shutting]

Ridge: No, no, no, no, no, no. Why? Why? What are you doing here?

Bill: Come on, come on, don’t be that way. Give us a kiss. A hug?

Ridge: Please, enough. Come on.

Bill: Nothing? Wow. Is this how you treat all your visitors?

Ridge: Only the ones I miss so much.

Bill: I detect a note of sarcasm.

Ridge: What– what do you want? I’m busy.

Bill: Busy doing what? I don’t see a needle and thread in your hand. What? What? All right, look, I’m just trying to lighten things up a little bit, okay? It’s been pretty heavy. I wanted to come see you in person and reiterate how sorry I am about what happened to steffy and her family.

Ridge: I appreciate you saying that. Steffy’s had a really tough time of it. So she took the kids and left town for a while.

Bill: Well, that’s probably a good idea. I mean, I– I can’t even imagine the shock and the trauma that steffy experienced. Watching her husband killed by his own birth mother? Being shot herself? I mean, sheila has always been a qualified nut, but to shoot her grandchild’s mom, to kill her own son? I mean, that is a special brand of evil.

Ridge: At least we can agree on that.

Bill: How about that. Something we agree on.

Ridge: Huh.

Bill: We normally were on the opposite sides of an issue. Like what sheila did to brooke. And how brooke should be treated as a result.

Hope: Mom, surely there must be some kind of compromise. I mean, can he at least come to the cabin?

Brooke: Honey, honey, I’m not budging on this. Deacon can’t be on the property at all.

Deacon: Don’t you think it’s a little extreme?

Brooke: This is not up for debate.

Deacon: I want a couple of minutes alone with your mom.

Brooke: Please just leave.

Deacon: I swear. I swear. Just a couple of minutes. Please, hear me out.

Brooke: Deacon!

Deacon: Brooke, just a few minutes.

Liam: It’s up to you, brooke. I mean, if you’re not comfortable, we can stay. If– if deacon doesn’t want to go… you know…

Deacon: I wouldn’t want liam to have to throw me out.

Hope: Mom, come on, please?

[ Brooke sighing ]

Brooke: Fine. Five minutes.

Hope: Okay. Dad, make them count. I’m taking his snacks.

Deacon: Hey, I know you’re upset, and I know you’re trying to save your marriage. But please, don’t do this. One prilosec otc in the morning

Liam: So, uh, couldn’t help but notice you holding back a little bit at your mom’S.

Hope: Oh, I just, I didn’t think my voice was needed.

Liam: Yeah, but that doesn’t mean you don’t have an opinion about brooke banning your dad from the property.

Hope: Well, at this point, I don’t think I’m really entitled to one, so.

Liam: You are. Deacon’s your father, and he comes to the cabin to visit with you and his grandkid.

Hope: And look at you, advocating for my dad!

Liam: No, absolutely not! You bite your tongue. That’s not what I’m doing. I’m trying to get to the bottom of how you feel about your mom laying down this law that keeps your dad outside the gates.

Hope: I’m not thrilled. I feel bad for him because clearly he didn’t see it coming. And if this were a few months ago, I mean, yeah, I would have fought really hard for him, trying to change my mom’s mind, but I already tried that. Look where it got us.

Liam: Okay. Reality check. You’re not… actually blaming yourself for ridge and brooke’s marital problems, are you?

Hope: Well, ridge was convinced that if deacon was hanging around, it would cause problems for him and my mother. And it did. But I didn’t listen. I kept pushing and pushing. And so, yeah, I guess I do wonder if I hadn’t gotten involved that maybe they might still possibly be together. So, yeah, I don’t think anyone needs me chiming in on this one.

Liam: Wow. That is, uh, like, superhuman mature of you.

Hope: Ha. Trying. But really, if it makes my mom happy having ridge back in the house, then so be it.

Liam: Well, I’m sure it’s all going to work out one way or another. By the way, we’re, like, alone with no kids. Why on earth are we talking about other people’s problems?

Hope: Why are we even saying words at this point?

Liam: Right? No words.

Hope: I don’t–

Ridge: All right. If you’re going to insist on coming over here in this cloud of musk, can we at least talk about something that we both agree on?

Bill: Like what a psycho sheila is and how she destroys everything in her path?

Ridge: That she should stay in prison for the rest of her days. Yeah, like that.

Bill: If you understand that and feel that way, why are you giving sheila so much power?

Ridge: Not sure what that means.

Bill: She is holding your marriage hostage, forrester. She targeted brooke. Brooke never would have gotten plastered after years of sobriety. Brooke is sheila’s victim as well.

Ridge: I know that!

Bill: If you know that, why are you living at your daddy’s house, sucking your thumb like you’re the injured party? Feeling sorry for yourself? Go home. Go back to your wife.

Deacon: I appreciate the chance to have my say before you throw me out into the night.

Brooke: Just say it, deacon. I don’t want to spend a lot of time on something that I’ve already decided.

Deacon: You seem nervous.

Brooke: Yeah. Yeah, I am.

Deacon: What’s the matter? You afraid forrester’s going to come barging in here? God forbid, find me in your living room?

Brooke: Well, if he does, from his point of view, it’s going to look like I’m throwing you in his face!

Deacon: Oh, come on, brooke. Come on, this is ridiculous. I’ve had access here for months, and with the exception of one little mishap, you and I have been great. We’ve been acting as parents. Tentative friends, even.

Brooke: Okay. Okay. I didn’t think I was going to have to explain this to you, but I will. This mishap was more than just a kiss. I mean, you and I have a history together that has created a lot of damage for people, including ridge. And that kiss never would have happened, deacon, if I’d listened to ridge in the first place. And now I am just standing in the ruins of my marriage, desperately trying to save it somehow. And you coming and going whenever you please, that’s certainly doesn’t help. So that is why I am making this call.

Deacon: My daughter lives here. My granddaughter lives here. Come on– I mean– look, we’re a family, too. We created a beautiful daughter together. That’s got to count for something. And most of the time, you’re aware of that. But now, for some reason, you’re getting all twisted around because of ridge and his stupid, childish games, running back to his dad’s house. It’s getting in your head. I know that you think banning me from here is somehow going to fix it. It’s not. It’s not. Please, don’t let him come between us. Don’t let ridge dictate your life. I was on an antidepressant,

Hope: I have a surprise for you that I think you’re going to like.

Liam: Oh, I like your surprises.

Hope: Hmm. Well, it involves texting donna and asking if she wanted to have a slumber party with beth. And she said, “of course.” And douglas is over at thomas’S. Which means…

Liam: Which means…

Hope: We have the house all to ourselves. All… night… long.

Liam: Best surprise ever.

Hope: Mmm. Well, that is just the first of many surprises that I have in store for you.

Liam: Oh.

Hope: I am so lucky to have you for a husband. And I love you so, so much.

Ridge: You know what I like about you, bill?

Bill: Hm?

Ridge: Absolutely nothing. I don’t have to explain my relationship to you. It’s none of your business.

Bill: All right. You can have that attitude, but it ain’t going to get you anywhere. All right? I’m trying to counsel you, give you some good advice. Go back to your wife while you still can. Don’t be freaking stupid. Don’t let the grass grow, forrester. Do it now.

Brooke: So you think I can’t make decisions on my own? Ridge is not dictating my life. This is what I want.

Deacon: You think this is coming from a place of being all about me and that’s only partially true. You are a beautiful, dynamic, smart businesswoman. You’re a chemist, for god’s sake. He ought to be groveling on the ground, begging for you to take him back.

Brooke: Okay. I heard you out.

Deacon: Have you? Have you heard a word I’ve said?

Brooke: Now, I want you to leave. Because I want my husband back. I want to be back in my marriage. You said you love me.

Deacon: I do.

Brooke: Okay. Well, then just stay away. Don’t make trouble for me by inciting ridge. Please show me the respect that you say he doesn’T. Let me choose my life, my marriage, my husband. For people who are a little intense about hydration.

Hope: Hmm.

Liam: Hm?

Hope: Hmm. Just you.

Liam: Just me. Just you. And just us.

Hope: You know, I’ve, um… I’ve been thinking and what if we just get in the car and drive down the coast one of these weekends and just stop wherever feels right?

Liam: Sounds good to me.

Hope: Hm. Hey. What are you thinking about?

Liam: My beautiful wife.

Brooke: Just come

home, ridge.

I’m going to make you wonder

why you stayed away so long.

You and I make up better

than anybody.

Ridge: Oh man,

that’s absolutely true.

[ Phone ringing ] Hey, logan.

Brooke: I’ve been thinking about you.

Ridge: Well, there’s a coincidence.

Brooke: Good thoughts, I hope.

Ridge: The best.

Brooke: I miss you, ridge. This isn’t right. We shouldn’t be on the phone together. You should be here in our house, our home with me, your wife.

Ridge: That’s how it was supposed to be.

Brooke: And it will be. We will be together again. I’m sure of it. I told deacon and hope that he is no longer welcome here. I’m not letting anyone or anything keep us apart ever again. And certainly not deacon.

Ridge: Okay.

Brooke: Okay. I love you. Sweet dreams.

Ridge: This romance is

going to last forever.

Brooke: I love you, ridge.

Ridge: I love you, logan.
