SOD 6/5/23
Summer preview: Stories heat up this summer with more intrigue, rivalries and romance. Victor and Nikki worry about Nate’s motives now that he and Victoria are together. They think he’s just climbing the corporate ladder. Victor interferes when he thinks Victoria’s judgement might be clouded by her feelings for Nate. Sharon gets haunted by some mistake from her past that could affect all of her family. Nick comes to her rescue, which might hurt Sally. This leaves Adam with an opening to reunite with Sally. Diane and Phyllis’ machinations and secrets threaten Summer and Kyle’s marriage. Ashley and Jack keep fighting, and Tucker being there doesn’t help. Ashley tries a coup. Jack puts Diane in a position of power at the company. Traci tries to keep her family from killing each other, and Billy is caught in the middle of the fighting. Abby and Devon are shocked by a decision Chance makes that will cause a big change in their relationships. Phyllis tries to fix things that she mucked up by working with Jeremy and reveals herself to Daniel, but otherwise staying out of sight. Daniel and Lily grow closer. Mariah and Tessa are happy in motherhood. Chelsea and Billy fall for each other.
Daniel gets a text that tells him to go to a suite at the GAC. Summer also goes there, finding out that it’s where her mom is now hiding. She is angry when Daniel shows up and Phyllis comes out. Daniel is happy to see his mom. Daniel wants her to turn herself in, but Summer is worried that Chris will throw the book at her. Kyle and Summer aren’t doing well, and it becomes worse when Kyle shows up in Phyllis’ room. They have to worry if Kyle will expose them.
Early Editions: Nate and Victoria get married (maybe). Ashley turns her scheming to Jack. Victor warns someone. Phyllis wants again takes dumb chances.
Ratings, week of 5/1: 2.25.
Lucy (played by Lily Brooks O’Briant) returned to Portugal but will be returning.
The Daytime Emmy Awards are postponed, due to the WGA strike. They were originally going to air June 16th and 17th.
After Victor interrogates Nate about his future at the company, he meets secretly again with Audra and fills her in. He thinks that their meeting went well, but he’s worried because Nick runs to his dad with his concerns about Victoria. He plans to deal with Nick.
5/29 Phyllis’ plans are discovered by Chris. Summer takes a big risk. Nate is questioned by Victor. 5/30 Nick is taken to task by his mom for keeping secrets. Someone apologizes to Diane unexpectedly. Daniel changes his mind, based on his feelings. 5/31 Adam proves to Sally that she can depend on him. Sharon gets some unwelcome news from Chance. 6/1 Tucker and Ashley talk about their future plans. Chelsea feels for what Adam is going through. 6/2 Phyllis tries to make up for what she did.
The show is given a Thumbs Down! for having Kyle and Summer involved with Phyllis and Diane’s story rather than having their own.
Actors answer trivia quizzes about their characters, including Sharon Case (Sharon).

The Creative Arts & Lifestyle Emmys are scheduled for the following day, Saturday, June 17, also at 9 p.m. ET. The main Daytime Emmy Awards will be shown live on CBS on Friday, June 16, starting at 9 p.m. ET, also streaming live on Paramount+. The Creative Arts Emmy Awards, they will be streaming live on Watch.TheEmmys.tv and the Emmys streaming apps starting at 9 p.m. ET on Saturday, Jun 17.
SOD 5/15/23
The main story was that the Daytime Emmy nominations were revealed.
Victor, Abby and Nikki help Devon organize a memorial for Neil at the GCAC, dedicating the jazz loung to Neil. His mom, Harmony, shows up, which delights Devon. Tucker arranged for her to be there. She was in Chicago for a conference, so he got a car to bring her over. Then Malcolm also shows up, making Devon and Lily very happy. They all happily reminisce. Devon tells everyone that he has an important announcement that will be a big turning point for him.
Early Editions: Summer keeps Phyllis’ secret. Jack decides to act on something. Nate is the focus of Nick’s attention. Sally has to decide something difficult.
Ratings, week of 4/10: 2.24.
Shemar Moore (Malcolm) will return 5/8, just for the one episode.
Michael Damian and his wife just signed a new deal with a company called Motion Picture Corporation of America to make three more movies. He directs and she produces.
Eric Braeden (Victor) talked about his prostate cancer in detail on Instagram.
Daniel wants to tell everyone that Phyllis is alive. He’s too stressed out, having to lie to everyone — especially now that Diane has been arrested for her death. Summer refuses to go along with it and makes him feel bad that she trusted him with the secret.
5/8 Malcolm returns. 5/9 Summer doesn’t back down from Kyle. Elena does something bold. Jack explains why he’s done what he’s done, to Ashley. 5/10 Victoria has to spill her secrets to Nikki. Chelsea and Adam figure out their strategy. Nick’s actions make Victor lose his patience. 5/11 Someone sends Jack a message that isn’t too clear. Someone proposes something to Diane that tempts her. Nick gets riled up by Adam, as usual. 5/12 Daniel struggles with the truth. Michael’s defense of Diane gets a promising break.
The show is given a Thumbs Down! for the story of Phyllis staging her death (which lacks motivation).

THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS Spoilers: Adam’s Proposal Stuns Sally!
SOD 5/8/23
James Hyde has finished his run on the show as Jeremy Stark when he was murdered by Phyllis 4/17.
Sally tells Nick that Victor offered her a lot of money in order to give her baby to Adam and then leave town. Nick is pissed, but Sally begs him not to get into a fight with Victor. Still, Nick wants to “run an errand,” but she decides what will happen next, instead of his confronting Victor.
Chene Lawson returns as Yolanda, Devon’s mom, starting 5/2 for several episodes. Bryton James (Devon) asked the powers-that-be if she could return for the 50th anniversary. She talks about how much she enjoyed being back on the show with everyone.
Early Editions: Adam hears Chelsea’s secrets. Elena does something bold. Ashley confesses. Victor doesn’t flinch.
Ratings, week of 4/3: 2.24.
Elena contacts J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) via video 5/2. Elena gets his number for Audra, who was able to track him down. She wants to know where J.T. stands with Victoria, since she’s concerned about Nate and Victoria. She uses her podcast as an excuse to contact him and ask him to come on her show to talk about the brain tumor he had in the past, and what he did. She lets him assume that Victoria is okay with it.
5/1 Nate changes his mind about something or someone. Michael goes too far to help someone at his job. Billy and Ashley try to mitigate the damage when it comes to Diane. 5/2 Summer has a hard time lying to Kyle. 5/3 Daniel hears the truth from Summer. Lily and Devon start something new. Diane gets some shocking information from Jack. 5/4. Tucker tries to get Devon to trust him again. Diane gets another chance. Nate and Victoria are stunned by reality. 5/5 Someone visits Devon that he didn’t expect. Ashley is quizzed about Tucker by Abby.
Allison Lanier (Summer) was chosen as Performer of the Week.
Upcoming stories: The show will have more intrigue and romance this May. Victor hopes that his offer to Sally will be one she can’t refuse. Nikki worries that the past will repeat itself with regard to her children’s choices. Victor interrogates Nate about his intentions toward Victoria and the company after learning that they had an affair. Nate and Victoria also have to deal with their romance going public. Diane still suffers from Phyllis’ plans while Jack does something he shouldn’t in order to protect Diane. Tucker will move in with the Abbotts, causing more problems for Jack. Ashley has to re-examine her feelings for Tucker. Kyle and Summer’s marriage may be at risk, thanks to Phyllis. Christine is back as D.A. to investigate Phyllis’ “death,” along with Chance. They don’t find easy answers. She doesn’t know how to feel about getting justice for Phyllis, since they used to be such rivals. Sharon faces a crisis from the past, so Nick has to decide whether to help her or focus on Sally. Adam may use this to his advantage. Devon decides something big after seeing Malcolm and Harmony again. Tucker will find it’s not so easy to win Devon over again. Billy and Chelsea get romantic and have to figure out their future. When Daniel gets more drama, thanks to Phyllis, Lily supports him.

SOD 5/1/23
Victor wants Nick to run McCall Unlimited with Adam, now that he’s bought it from Tucker. He wants Nick to be COO, as he has been with Victoria at Newman. Victor also hopes that it makes his sons grow closer. Nick refuses to work with Adam. Victor also hopes that Nick will back away from Sally after learning how much Adam loves her, even though Nick also loves her. Nick walks out on Victor.
Early Editions: Elen gets revenge. Nate feels bad about what he’s done. Diane is targeted by Ashley and someone else. Sally gets interrogated by Victor.
Ratings, week of 3/27: 2.29.
Summer is shocked to find her mom alive and well at Chancellor Park (after she gets a phone call). Phyllis asks her not to contact Daniel or anyone else and then explains what happened with Stark. Summer is not happy to lie to Kyle.
4/24 Ashley doesn’t back down from Jack. Chelsea moves forward with Billy. Tucker is forced to do something, thanks to Victor. 4/25 Jack tries to help Diane but might be doing something he shouldn’t. Tucker plans to leave town. 4/26 Someone temps Nate with an interesting idea. Victor and Adam come to an agreement. 4/27 Phyllis begs someone to listen to her side of the story. Nate makes sure that no one finds out what he did. 4/28 Lauren is disappointed in Michael. Daniel and Summer argue. Jack decides something without thinking it through.

SOD 4/24/23
Phyllis has second thoughts about faking her death and moving on with her life. Hearing her children are in pain over her death hit home with her. She wants out, but Jeremy wants to go ahead with their plan for revenge on Diane. He threatens to kill Phyllis if she goes back to her old life. Phyllis doesn’t let him know that she’s scared as she plots to get away from him.
Early Editions: Victor decides something that’s not easy. Jack gets some news that he didn’t expect. Nate gets warned by Nick. Tucker does something that shocks everyone.
Ratings, week of 3/20: 2.26.
Shemar Moore (ex-Malcolm) returns 5/8 to connect with his family: Lily, Devon and Nate.
Mo Rocca, who played Milton the accountant in 2014, returns 4/18.
Danny (Michael Damian) leaves town again this week.
Eva Marcille (ex-Tyra) filed for divorce from her husband of 4 years.
Jack visits Diane in jail, but she asks him not to visit her any more because it’s too painful. She feels that her situation is hopeless, but he’s determined to clear her name. He reminds her that she has a grandson that will miss her, hoping that it will give her some hope again.
4/17 Jack asks Chris for a favor. Adam tells Victor everything. 4/18 Michael has to make a difficult choice. When Chance continues to investigate Phyllis’ death, he finds something shocking. 4/19 Elena has had it with Nate. Sharon tries to get Abby to help her with something. Victor gets a surprising offer from Tucker that he can’t turn down. 4/20 Lily and Daniel feel a real connection. Devon sticks to his plan. Victor wonders if Nick is making the right choice. 4/21 Kyle and Billy vie for top dog. Tessa and Mariah’s family and friends celebate them and their new baby. Michael begs Chris to hear him out.
