Jill and Nina returned for the wedding. Characters recognized that this wedding would be the merger of three prominent Genoa City families, which caused them to reminisce about the old days. Chance asked Nina to be his best person, and she accepted. Abby had cold feet on her wedding day and locked herself in the bathroom because of all her failed relationships and past immaturity. Mariah and Ashley tried to get through to her, but Chance was the one who convinced her to unlock the door. He told her he knew what a mess he was and he loved it. Jill caught up with Esther and Jack. Nick wanted Phyllis to accompany him to the wedding. She declined because people wouldn’t want her there, but she promised him a night to remember after the event was over. Victor promised Victoria and Nikki that he wouldn’t ruin Abby’s day by fighting with Billy. Victor and Ashley marveled over how well their daughter had turned out. Traci and Ashley acknowledged the late Brad Carlton’s part in raising Abby. Devon arrived to officiate the wedding, and Mariah asked him to stall, since Abby had the jitters.

Jake called Gabi out for the way she treated him before she left. She told him that it was a lie. Belle told John that he wouldn’t be at the station if it weren’t for Sami. Marlena walked in while she talked about Sami. She seemed to understand why Belle thought the way she did, but John didn’t see it that he. He understood why she did what she did. Gabi talked to Jake and Kate about what happened when she left town. She didn’t think he would have been in bed with Kate.
Shawn didn’t want to take the commissioner position because he and Belle were going back to Hong Kong soon. Belle showed up to ask if Abe could pull some strings to get John out of jail. He couldn’t do it because the courts were closed. He would make sure his case was the first one. Rafe blamed himself for not being there for Hope during the worst time in her life. She wondered if Jennifer would be able to get over it. He didn’t think she would. Kate talked to Jake about Allie. Kate said she was sad for Allie. He said she was fierce and her love would help Allie. They ended up making love.
Roman ran into Rafe. Rafe told him he was back for Hope. Roman said Hope wasn’t in town. He told him what happened to Ciara. He said Hope thought she was still alive. He asked Rafe about his mother. Rafe said it was a lie. He told Roman his father’s mistake put their family in danger. He said they dealt with the problem once the family was safe. He said his parents were in Mexico and he and Gabi were in Salem. Gabi went to the DiMera mansion. Chad said he thought she was in Mexico. He told her to go back there. She said she was home. He told her she wasn’t after what she did to Abby. Gwen came in when Gabi said she didn’t drug Abby. Gabi said the person was still out there. Gabi wanted to know why Gwen was there. He said Gwen was the nanny. Gabi asked about Jake. Gwen told Gabi not to be surprised if Jake moved on after the way she dumped him and said she used him to get DiMera back. Gabi said everything was a lie. She wanted to know where he was so she could tell him the truth. Gwen thought about catching Jake and Kate together. She told her to try the garage. After her conversation with Gwen, Gabi went to the garage. Abby came in when Gabi left. Chad told her Gabi was back. Gabi found Jake and Kate in bed together.
“Saved by the Bell” (2020) Review by Eva 11/28/2020
I was really excited about the new Saved by the Bell revival because I used to watch it on Saturday mornings when it was on NBC. The show was corny but, it was good escape television when you had a hard week at school. It was a just silly and a good thing to watch on a Saturday morning. This new version is rated TV 14 and takes on social issues which is good. The show starts when Zach Morris (Mark-Paul Gosselaar), who is now Governor of California, closes a lot of under-performing schools because he wants to cut taxes. A reporter at a press conference suggests that Zach bus the kids to better schools so the kids, whose schools were closed, can have the same quality education that he did when he was in high school. I thought this was going to be a classic fish out of water show where the kids from the inner city high school and the kids from the affluent high school learn to find common ground with each other and eventually learn important lessons from each other. I think that is what this show wants to be, but it isn’t there yet. I hope that future episodes will achieve this goal.
The kids from the inner city school are smart despite their disadvantages but I don’t like the stereotypes of the rich kids that they have had every advantage and all they care about is going on vacation rather than being in school. I would like to think that even if you go to a school that is in a better neighborhood, there are smart and not so smart kids there just like there are in an inner-city school. I know the show is trying to prove a point and it does, but I don’t think it is balanced in showing both sides of the story yet. Jesse Spano (Elizabeth Berkley) is back as the school guidance counselor with a son of her own Jaime Spano (Belmont Cameli) who is a jock who doesn’t play football well at all. AC Slater (Mario Lopez) is also back as the gym teacher and football coach whose life isn’t going so well at the moment.
I really wanted to like this show but it has a lot of work to do to get better so I can only give it a 3 out of 5 stars and I suggest that parents view it before they let their kids watch it just to make sure it is okay with mom and dad.
When California governor Zack Morris gets into hot water for closing too many underfunded high schools, he proposes they send the affected students to the most well-funded schools in the state – including Bayside High. The influx of new students gives the privileged Bayside kids (who never have a problem that can’t be solved in twenty-two minutes) a much-needed dose of reality.

A Woman’s Seemingly Obsessive and Threatening Messages to an Ex Precede a Stunning Twist After Authorities Suspect She’s Dead
‘20/20’ Airs Friday, Dec. 4 (9:01-11:00 p.m. EST) on ABC
A new “20/20” reports on a twisted, fatal love triangle and the shocking truth on whether or not the stalker and victim are the same woman. After Cari Farver disappeared from her Iowa home, her friends and family received text messages from her number claiming she embarked on a new life. Although skeptical of the texts, her loved ones could not prove they were illegitimate. At the same time, Dave Kroupa received a strange and sudden breakup message from Farver’s number after only dating her for a few weeks. Kroupa quickly regretted ever meeting Farver as he, his on-again off-again girlfriend, Shanna “Liz” Golyar, and others in his life became the targets of obsessive, hateful messages from Farver’s number. Kroupa began to fear for his life as the message content escalated to stalking and threats. In a stunning twist, authorities began to suspect that Farver was dead and hadn’t sent any of the messages. Who was pretending to be his dead ex-girlfriend? The two-hour program untangles the complicated case, answering questions about what happened to Farver and who sent the messages. “20/20” features an in-depth interview with Leslie Rule, author of a book about Farver, “A Tangled Web,” and shares exclusive correspondence she received from Golyar about the story. The program also includes new interviews with Kroupa and Nancy Raney, Farver’s mother. Sargent Jim Doty, Deputy Ryan Avis and Special Deputy Anthony Kava take “20/20” through their investigation, step-by-step, and reveal how they cracked the case. “20/20” airs on Friday, Dec. 4 (9:01-11:00 p.m. EST) on ABC.
“20/20” is anchored by David Muir and Amy Robach. David Sloan is senior executive producer. Colleen Halpin is senior producer, and Gwen Gowen and Gail Deutsch are producers of this episode.

“Mission: Impossible: The Original TV Series [Blu-ray]” Review by Suzanne 11/25/20
I watched this show growing up; I have three older brothers who are comic book and scifi fans, so they loved it. I’ve always enjoyed it, but it’s even better to watch as an adult. It was a little over my head when I was that young. Although the first episode is a bit slow, the others aren’t. There is plenty of action and intrigue. If you like James Bond movies or John le Carré novels, you should love this series. There were many spy shows on TV back then, like “I Spy,” “Wild Wild West,” “Man from U.N.C.L.E.” and “The Avengers.” This was as good as any of those.
In each episode, the IMF team gathers to plan their next operation. Jim Phelps (Peter Graves) They usually have a target in some country. They use disguises, accents, electronics, deception, sleight-of-hand, impeccable timing and quick thinking to accomplish their mission. It’s a very cool show and often fun.
If you’re a younger person who’s never watched an old show, you might find it shocking because the early episodes are in black and white. People are smoking. Latinos and Asians are mostly played by white people. You don’t want to think too deeply about the fact that they infiltrated other countries to commit illegal acts and weren’t bothered by the fact that they were responsible for many deaths. Back then, the bad guys were all bad, so it was okay. Still, like “Star Trek,” they were progressive in many ways. They had a multicultural cast (for the time). Barney, their electronics expert, played by a black actor Greg Morris. Morris was also the actor who was on the show the longest. It ran 7 seasons, which is a good run. Barbara Bain played Cinnamon. She wasn’t just eye candy, though. She was shown to be very intelligent and had some sort of medical training. Unlike many shows back then, she was an important part of the team. Later on, Lesley Ann Warren and Linda Day George replaced Bain in the series. After “Star Trek” was canceled, Leonard Nimoy joined the cast for a few years.
It’s fun to watch these old series to see so many actors we recognize from movies or other shows (especially those that went on to more fame). Sam Elliot was a regular on the show in 1970. Lee Meriweather was on for 8 episodes. I’m sure you’ll recognize a lot of familiar faces, such as Anthony Zerbe, William Windom, Fritz Weaver, Pernell Roberts, Mark Lenard, Robert Conrad, Joanna Cassidy, Dina Merrill, and many more.
There was a reboot of the series in the 1980’s that I liked, starring Thaao Penghlis (Tony/Andre on “Days of Our Lives”) and others. Peter Graves reprised his role of Phelps on that one. I never saw the movies because I heard they were very different from the original series. If you love those, you may be disappointed in the series.
This DVD set is great. The series is finally on Blu-ray! It has a very cool case. Each season has its own mini-case and says, “Your mission should you decide to accept it” and “These discs will self-destruct in 5 seconds.” Those catch phrases are both from this show. My only complaint is that there are no features. I’m disappointed because I would really liked to have seen those. I find it hard to believe that there aren’t some old interviews, behind-the-scenes features, or promos they could have found in their vaults to add. For that matter, they could have interviewed the surviving cast members Barbara Bain, Peter Lupus, Lynda Day George, Lesley Ann Warren, Sam Elliot, Sid Haig, Lee Meriweather and others, or any other surviving crew or cast. Still, it’s worth having, just to see all of the episodes, and in such good condition.

Abby and Chance planned their wedding. Devon got ordained to perform the ceremony, and Lauren sent Sally to help Abby with wedding dresses. Mariah felt lonely with Tessa out of town, so she hung out with Devon. Mariah told Devon and Abby she was head of marketing at Jabot. Victor thought Billy shot Adam. He told Victoria that he’d put Adam in a psych ward for his own good. Victoria didn’t think it’d help. Rey revealed that Billy was the owner of the gun that shot Chance. Billy said he left the gun at Victoria’s place years ago. Victoria told Rey that she and Billy suspected Adam was the one who broke into her house a few weeks ago. She theorized that he stole the gun. She’d never thought to check the lock box to make sure the gun was still there. Billy overheard Victoria stand up for him with Rey. Victoria noted there was evidence against Billy. He realized she wasn’t 100% sure he was innocent, and he understood that. He wondered if Adam stole the gun and hired someone to shoot him to frame Billy. However, he didn’t think that theory made any sense.
Chance and Rey talked about the case. Rey had enough evidence to bring Billy down to the station, but he wasn’t going to bring anyone in until he had a solid case. Adam hallucinated a young version of himself and argued with his childhood self about whether he belonged in the mental hospital and about whether Victor was to blame. Victor visited and tried in vain to convince Adam that this treatment would heal him. Victor saw Adam arguing with young Adam and called in an orderly. Adam fought the orderlies, but they overpowered him and strapped him to the bed. When Adam was alone, he hallucinated Chelsea telling him to come home to her and Connor. Sally talked to her sister and made her job sound busier and more fulfilling than it really was.
Jan wanted to know why Marlena wouldn’t pronounce her married to Shawn. She assumed it was because of the rings. Jan realized Brady was missing and threatened to kill Belle if he went to the police. John and Marlena came up with a lie to explain Brady’s disappearance. Brady and Eli broke into the hotel room to look for Belle. They only found a ransacked room. Eli wanted to go to John and Marlena’s place to get to Jan. Philip talked to Maggie about his feelings for Belle. He didn’t understand why he couldn’t get over Belle. Xander and Sarah broke into Ava’s apartment to see if they could find something there. Maggie continued to convince Philip to move on from Belle. Xander found out that the person who had the apartment spent time in a mental institution. Marlena couldn’t stall anymore and pronounced Jan and Shawn married. Jan waited for Shawn to kiss her. Maggie wanted to know if something else was going on with Philip. He said he was dealing with stuff. Jan initiated the kiss, but Brady and Eli showed up. Everyone demanded to know where Belle was so she said she shot her. John ended up choking her.
Brady, Eli, and Shawn finally pulled John off of Jan. Eli called for help. John didn’t mean to hurt her. He snapped when she said Belle was dead. Shawn and John wanted to find Belle. Eli stopped John to arrest him. Philip found Belle in his bed. Brady tried to talk Eli out of arresting John, but he wanted to arrest him anyway. Marlena offered to go to the hospital with Jan. Marlena told John to go with Eli to the station. Brady offered to go with him. Shawn went to the Salem Inn and saw the room. He also found the card that Belle wrote for Shawn. Philip wanted to know why Belle was in his bed when she was supposed to be marrying Shawn. She told him how Jan tried to kill him. Claire was upset about Jan possibly killing her mother. Charlie tried to make her feel better. She blamed herself for what Jan did. Charlie told her it wasn’t her fault. Shawn thought about Jan telling him to let Philip have Belle. He also thought about his last conversation with Philip. He told Eli that Philip was possibly working with Jan. Belle told Philip what happened with Jan. Shawn and Eli showed up at the Kiriakis mansion to see Philip. They told Maggie that they thought he helped Jan. Shawn found Belle in Philip’s room. She explained what happened when Shawn assumed he helped Jan.
Julian calls Cyrus as an explosion goes off at the Floating Rib. Elizabeth manages to get up and finds Franco awake along with Cam. Can wonders about Danny and Dev. Laura finds Sonny and explains to him that Cyrus is after her. He is heavily invested in a murder she committed when she was a minor that was heavily redacted. She explains that David was a predator who had gotten back at her mother by going after her. He treated her horribly. She had no idea why this case was coming to light after all these years. Sonny doesn’t know what Cyrus is possibly up to today. Sonny suggests it is because Laura is mayor.
Carly asks Portia for an update on Sasha. Portia knows that she definitely OD’d from cocaine. Portia knows that there have been a lot of drug issues as of late. Sam begs Alexis to stay and listen to them. Alexis tells them to get this over with. Sam finds out about the explosion. She asks Alexis to watch Scout for her. Lulu tries to find Dustin. Elizabeth tells Cam to keep an eye on Dev. She tries to deal with the head wound. Dev is announced as dead. They are unable to find Jason and Danny.
Chelsea found out Sharon and Victor had Adam committed. Chelsea believed Sharon did it to stop Adam from moving away and starting a new life with Chelsea. Sharon said Rey was the only man she wanted and that she had Adam committed to protect him from himself. Chelsea vowed to make sure Sharon regretted this. Victor refused Chelsea’s request to pull some strings and get Adam released. He said they had to stop enabling Adam and let him get therapy to get to the root of what was bothering him. Chelsea thought Victor wanted to crush Adam and turn him into the kind of son Victor wanted. Victor denied it. Victor wouldn’t tell Chelsea where Adam was. Adam told his doctor that Victor sent him there to punish him. He refused to participate in his therapy session, because he believed the doctor would twist his words. Kyle told Sally that Summer would be running JCV. Sally mentioned Kyle and Summer’s failed engagement. Kyle thought Sally was looking for an angle to use to her advantage. He understood, since he used to do things like that. He told her that she could still make her mark at Fenmore’s. Sally was annoyed Theo didn’t follow through on his promise to find out who would be running JCV. She wanted him to get dirt on Summer so that Sally could take her down. Theo agreed to do that if Sally would spy on the Abbotts for him.
Rey told Chance that the earbud found at the crime scene had Billy’s DNA on it. Billy told Jack he was a suspect in Chance’s shooting, but he promised he would be okay and wouldn’t backslide. Lily defended Billy when Rey asked how she could be so sure that Billy wasn’t the shooter. She said that Billy had changed. Lily accepted when Billy asked her out on a dinner date. Summer told Kyle and Jack she was taking the job at JCV. They wished her well. Kyle and Jack got served with papers for Theo’s lawsuit. Sally told Jack that Theo asked her to spy on the Abbotts. Theo and Kyle argued about his lawsuit. Summer told Kyle not to let Theo get to him, because Kyle was the better man. Kyle offered Mariah Summer’s old job. She was interested, but she didn’t make a decision yet. Rey told Billy that they’d found a gun registered to Billy broken down in a dumpster. The police thought that it was the one used to shoot Chance.
Eric: Wyatt, I appreciate you’ve come here to speak on your mother’s behalf. But I really don’t think there’s anything else that you can say.
Wyatt: Okay, I – I know that, and what she did was a cruel thing, I get that. But people make mistakes. Okay, fine – my mother’s made a ton more mistakes than anybody else on this entire planet.
———————————————————-
Carter: I, uh, I feel like we were in the middle of something but, um, I can’t quite put my finger on it.
Zoe: [ Laughs ] The finger in question.
Carter: Yeah. Yeah, I asked you to spend the rest of your life with me, and you were moments away from saying… wait, don’t. When I was trying to turn off the alarm, it hit me – there was more to say. Something I need you to hear before accepting my proposal. You see, things will happen for us, in our lives. Usually good things, like, uh, standing ovations on the runway.
Zoe: [ Laughs ]
Carter: Or a promotion. Seat on the board. I knew when I proposed to you that you were the person I wanted by my side during those times. The one person to share success with, joy, the laughter. But bad things happen, too. Thankfully, the situation turned out to be nothing, but… it won’t always. Bad things happen, that’s life. It’s messy. It’s painful. When I was out there trying to figure out what the hell was going on, some of the neighbors, they were panicking, pounding on doors, but, not me. Actually, I had the biggest grin on my face.
Zoe: [ Laughs ] Wait. Seriously?
Carter: I knew you were here waiting for me. Gorgeous, talented Zoe Buckingham is waiting to start her life with me. I realized I can face anything, any alarm, any triumph, any heartache. With a woman like you by my side, hell yeah. I’m talking about the kind of woman who was kicked down and survived. The woman who proved how strong she is when she stood up to her father. Zoe, I want a life with someone as resilient as you. Never felt so sure there was someone meant for me, that I was meant for her. Meant to be the man to stand by her. To show
her what devotion means. Hoping you will do me the honor of being my wife.
Finn: It wasn’t that long ago you were trying to protect Steffy from me.
Liam: Okay. Did Thomas say that? I’ll bet you he did. Right? I’m right, aren’t I? Because that is his game. This is what he does. He’s trying to now sow distrust between you and me. He’s trying to make you think that I’m the unstable one.
Finn: Well, I am seeing a pattern.
Liam: Don’t. It’s a distraction, Finn. Do not fall for it.
Finn: First off, nobody gets into my head. I don’t fall for little tricks. I’m in the trenches making life and death
decisions all day long. I think for myself. I draw my own conclusions. And I got to be honest, Liam. I’m starting to
wonder if part of what Thomas said about you is true.
Eli told Julie the truth about what happened with Lani. She wanted to know what he was going to do about it. She wanted Abe to kick Eli out of his house. She told him to tell Lani about it. She didn’t want Abe to keep them apart. Eli said he would try to work it out. Lani went to visit Kristen at the prison. She explained how upset she was with Eli. Kristen tried to defend Eli, but she still thought he was wrong. Kristen wanted her to live a good life with Eli. Lani felt like she couldn’t live a good life with him after what he did to Kristen. She asked her if she loved him enough to do anything for him. Jan demanded that Shawn marry her or else Belle would die. Marlena went through with the ceremony. Brady snuck out of the townhouse during the ceremony.
Claire read a poem during the ceremony. Shawn stopped her from reading. Julie reminded Abe about his involvement in Eli and Lani’s situation. She told him how he should have fired Melinda when she wanted him to do it. Kristen let Lani know how Rachel visited her and she didn’t want her to come back again until she talked to Marlena. Kristen told her how she had faith in Lani and Eli. She didn’t want to talk about Eli. She told Lani how she would give anything to be with her family and she didn’t want to be with hers. Kristen advised her to work things out or walk away. Brady found Eli and asked for his help. Eli wasn’t thrilled with him so he told him how Belle’s life was in danger. Jan threatened Shawn unless he went through with the ceremony. Jan said I do to marrying Shawn. Kristen continued to convince Lani to give Eli another chance. She insisted that she work things out with him. Brady was determined to go in the Salem Inn to find Belle. Eli told him how he didn’t know what they were walking in on, but Brady went anyway. Lani didn’t know if she could forgive Eli for what he did. Marlena didn’t pronounce Shawn and Jan man and wife, but stopped herself. Jan wanted to know what was wrong. She looked around and realized Brady was gone.
Molly and Sam wait at Alexis’ house. Molly thinks that Kristina should be here. Sam knows that Alexis is out of control and Kristina is not a good fit for that. Diane shows up. Sonny finds him and asks if he wants to talk. Sonny knew that Dante was struggling since he came back. Dante admits he misses Lulu. He cannot just stay away.
Elizabeth and Franco talk about getting dinner. Franco is not sure about eating after those test results. Elizabeth reminds Franco that she loves him. She is not going to let him go. Laura and Lulu sit and talk about how Lulu still loves Dante. She feels guilty. Laura reminds Lulu that she cannot erase history. Jason and Danny play pool together. Danny thinks that Alexis has been acting weird. Cam and Dev hang out together as a distraction from Franco.

11/28/20 (Sa.) 10:00 PM A PODCAST WITH MILLIONS OF LISTENERS TURNS UP THE HEAT ON THE DISAPPEARANCE OF A COLLEGE STUDENT IN 1996 – CAN NEW INFORMATION SOLVE THE CASE?
“48 Hours” Investigates in “The Disappearance of Kristin Smart” Saturday, Nov. 28, 10:00 PM Preview
Kristin Smart was a college freshman who vanished in 1996 after attending a party just off the campus of California Polytechnic State University known as Cal Poly. Police have had a suspect since early on in the investigation, but no one has been charged with her disappearance. A popular podcast examining the case has drawn millions of listeners. Can new information solve the case?
Jonathan Vigliotti and 48 HOURS report on the podcast, the investigation and try to get answers from the prime suspect in “The Disappearance of Kristin Smart” to be broadcast Saturday, Nov. 28 (10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
Chris Lambert grew up near San Luis Obispo, where Smart disappeared, and remembers passing a billboard with her name on it. Although he’s a musician by profession, he began investigating what happened to her that night, resulting in his podcast, “Your Own Backyard,” which launched in 2019. Lambert, a CBS News consultant, learned Smart was intoxicated – he wonders if she was drugged or just had a lot to drink in a short amount of time – and needed help getting home. A student named Paul Flores volunteered to take her back to her dorm. She was never seen again.
“But what makes it interesting to me is that they’ve had a suspect since pretty much day one. I thought, what went wrong?” says Lambert.
“There has been no other suspect,” says Smart family attorney James Murphy. “Every piece of evidence points directly at Paul Flores.”
“It just amazes me the amount of evidence that’s available, yet nothing has happened,” says Smart’s sister, Lindsey Smart Stewart. “The day after my sister disappeared, Paul Flores had a black eye and scratches on him.”
Flores has never been charged in the case and his family has consistently denied that he was involved in Smart’s disappearance.
Smart’s frustrated family blames that on numerous missteps by campus police and the sheriff’s office. Cal Poly’s police didn’t begin investigating until Smart was gone for four days and by the time they inspected Flores’s dorm room, it was empty and had been thoroughly cleaned.
When Flores was deposed in a civil suit brought by Smart’s family, he cited his Fifth Amendment rights 27 times, refusing to answer even basic questions.
Despite early mistakes by Cal Poly campus police, and the San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s Office, the case has not been declared cold. A new sheriff took over in 2011 and has promised the Smart family that solving the case would be a priority. He hired a fulltime detective to work on the case and earlier this year, sheriff’s investigators worked with the FBI and searched Flores’ home, along with the homes of his mother, father and sister. The family has denied any involvement in Smart’s disappearance.
Meanwhile, Smart’s parents have never given up trying to find her and get justice.
“I think they’re like carrying boulders on their back,” Lindsey Smart Stewart says of her parents.
What happened that night?
“It’s been 24 years … I think it’s time to talk,” Lambert says.
Vigliotti tried to get answers from Flores during an unscheduled interview outside his home.
“Were you involved in the disappearance of Kristin Smart? Paul, can you tell us what happened that night between you can Kristin,” Vigliotti asks Flores.
“Go [expletive] yourself,” Flores says.

11/28/2020 (08:00PM – 10:00PM) (Saturday) : Press Release of original airing: JOHN O’HURLEY AND DAVID FREI RETURN TO CO-HOST THE CELEBRATED CANINE COMPETITION
NBC will present the 19th anniversary edition of the beloved holiday special “The National Dog Show” airing Thanksgiving Day (noon-2 p.m. in all time zones), Nov. 26, following the telecast of NBC’s “Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.”
As previously announced, the Kennel Club of Philadelphia will once again hold its annual all-breed dog show in November in Oaks, Penn. With full attention being given to state and local health and safety issues for activities during the COVID-19 pandemic, and under the approving guidance of the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners and the Montgomery County Department of Health, the club will stage a single, two-day show on Nov. 14-15 at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center.
“The National Dog Show” celebrates man’s best friend and will be hosted by award-winning TV personality, author and Broadway star John O’Hurley (“Seinfeld,” “Dancing with the Stars”), and expert analyst David Frei, a longtime breeder-owner-handler and American Kennel Club judge. NBC Sports correspondent Mary Carillo will also offer her insights during the telecast.
Last year a 2-year-old male Bulldog named Thor topped the 2,000-dog field to take home the Best In Show title.
Three new breeds will be on hand at the show for the first time this year, making a total of 207 breeds and varieties sanctioned by the American Kennel Club (AKC). The Barbet (Sporting Group) is a water dog from France with a long, sweeping tail, a dense coat of curly hair and a distinctive beard. He’s an agile athlete with a bright, friendly nature. The Dogo Argentino (Working Group) is a strong and intelligent hunting dog from Argentina, originally bred to hunt big game such as boar and mountain lion. He has a short white coat and expressive face. The Belgian Laekenois (Herding Group), like its three close Belgian relatives (Belgian Malinois, Belgian Sheepdog, Belgian Tervuren), was originally used in police work. They all still do some police work but are best known as athletic, hardworking herding dogs. The Laekenois separates itself with its different coat color and texture, and a different region of origin.
“The National Dog Show” is a beloved holiday tradition for families across the nation. The telecast reached nearly 25 million viewers during Thanksgiving week last year, delivering its third-best score in total viewers since its first broadcast in 2002. The show is part of a five-hour block of family programing on NBC, offering the country’s 65 million pet-owning households a full afternoon of fun entertainment while raising money for canine-related causes.
