[Finn chuckling]
Finn: Last night was… incredible.
Steffy: It was amazing, two of us reconnecting, waking up in our bed. Did that really happen?
Finn: It really happened.
[Steffy laughs]
Steffy: I stared at you all night. I was like touching you to make sure you were real, that you weren’t going away.
Finn: I am home. I’m never leaving you, hayes, and kelly ever.
Steffy: I am so lucky. We’re so lucky to be a family again.
Hope: Mmm. How much longer can we get away with this?
Liam: I don’t know. ‘Til one of the kids comes running in with a skinned knee, probably.
Hope: Oh, the fact that beth is finally old enough to play outside with douglas all on her own.
Liam: God, it’s life changing. It’s absolutely life changing.
Hope: We really have it good, don’t we?
Liam: Yeah. Healthy kids, happy marriage. Check. Check.
[Hope chuckles]
Hope: Our family’s thriving. You know, I can’t help but think about steffy and finn and the joy that they must feel with their family back together.
Liam: I know, all is right with the world. Um– okay, except for one thing.
Hope: Oh. Sheila. Mm. Yes. As it the extra security on the property wasn’t enough of a reminder.
Liam: Should be nice when she’s uh, behind bars. Forever.
Brooke: Yeah, I’m looking at it now. The packet and the inserts are great. And the release. Oh, wait, hang on. Oh, I’m getting a call. I’ll talk to you later, okay? Hello?
Det. Sanchez: Mrs. Forrester. It’s detective sanchez.
Brooke: Hi, detective sanchez. What can I do for you?
Det. Sanchez: I’m calling about sheila carter.
Brooke: What about sheila?
Det. Sanchez: I’m actually looking for ridge.
Can’t seem to find him.
Brooke: Ridge went downtown for a meeting and he left his phone here. I think he’s on his way back soon. Is there anything i can help you with?
Det. Sanchez: We have an update on sheila. Deputy chief baker is tied up in court. He asked that I meet with ridge and the rest of the family in person.
Brooke: Okay, well, I could have everybody meet here at forrester. What’s this about?
Det. Sanchez: I’ll explain when I see you.
[Brooke sighing]
Hope: Do you really have to be wearing a shirt right now?
Liam: Well, you’re welcome to come over here and take it back off me.
Hope: Oh, don’t tempt me with a good time.
Thomas: Knock, knock.
Hope: Oh, hey, thomas.
Liam: Hey!
Thomas: Hey. I just came by to see douglas.
Liam: Uh yeah, he and beth are on the tennis court playing right now. They should be back any second.
Thomas: Cool. Good to see you guys.
Liam: Yeah, you too.
Hope: So, how are steffy and finn readjusting? We were so thrilled for them. They really must be walking on air right now.
Thomas: Yeah, actually, I think that that’s a great way to describe it.
Steffy: There is just so much I want to do with you. So much time we need to make up for!
Finn: Oh, we will.
Steffy: Oh.
[Knocking] Mm. That’s my mom, honey.
Steffy: Mm.
Finn: Hey, mom.
Li: Sweetheart. How are you feeling?
Finn: I’m good. I’m uh, better every second I get to spend with my beautiful wife.
Li: Nice to see you, steffy.
Steffy: You too. Hayes and kelly are still at the park with the babysitter. But don’t worry, we have security keeping an eye on them.
Li: Can’t be too careful with sheila on the loose.
[Phone rings]
Finn: Yeah.
Steffy: Brooke.
Brooke: Steffy, hi. Detective sanchez just called for your father. He said he had an update on sheila.
Steffy: On sheila?
Brooke: He was hoping we could all meet here in the office. When would you be able to get here?
Steffy: Li just showed up at the house but we can– we can go right now. I’ll– I’ll text my mom. Thanks. They have news about sheila.
Finn: Okay, well, let’s– let’s, let’s go.
Steffy: Okay. Yes.
Thomas: Sheila can’t keep running forever.
Liam: Yeah, mean time, we just have to stay vigilant, make sure she doesn’t have any more opportunities to cause damage.
Hope: Well, I think all of our concerns are definitely justified but I do think it is important for us to focus on the wins, too. And, finn coming back into our lives is a big one.
Thomas: You know, if there’s anything I’ve learned from, you know, my sister and her husband’s situation is that life is short. Make every second count.
Liam: There’s some words to live by.
Hope: The kids!
Thomas: There they are. Hey!
Hope: Hi, sweetie!
Thomas: Hey, bud. Did you guys have fun playing outside?
Douglas: Yeah, and we played jump rope.
Hope: Oh! I bet you learned from the best.
Douglas: I can’t wait ’til we get to see aunt steffy ad uncle finn!
Hope: Oh, we are excited, too.
Douglas: Hey, could you come outside with me and throw the baseball?
Thomas: Uh, yeah. It’s, like, my favorite thing in the world to do! Come on. Awesome.
Liam: See you guys.
Thomas: Yeah, see ya.
Liam: That right there is a happy, well-adjusted kid.
Hope: Mm, he is, isn’t he?
Liam: Because of you.
Hope: Well, that’s sweet of you to say that.
Liam: It’s sweet of me to say, it’s also the truth. You turned that kid’s life around after caroline d-I-e-D.
Hope: Well, douglas means the world to me. I don’t know what i would do without him.
Taylor: Okay, so– so what’s the news?
Brooke: All detective sanchez said was that it’s regarding sheila.
Eric: Yeah.
[Taylor sighing]
Steffy: What’s going on? Is dad back yet? Where is detective sanchez?
Brooke: The detective’s on his way and hopefully your father is, too. But he left his phone here and we can’t reach him.
Eric: Steffy, finn. It’s still amazing to see the two of you together again.
Taylor: I know. I feel the same way. It’s so good seeing them together. And we have li to thank for that. But li, I– I have to ask, why, why didn’t you tell steffy or any of us that you had finn and you were keeping him alive?
Li: I understand both your and steffy’s frustration.
Taylor: Okay. I just– I just wish that you would have at least told steffy, it would have saved your son’s wife a lot of pain and suffering.
Li: Looking back, I may have done things differently but please know that I never meant to hurt or deceive any of you. Finn’s condition was so fragile, the likelihood of him standing like this with us today… miraculously, my boy pulled through.
Taylor: Yes. And for that we are, we are very grateful.
Brooke: Detective sanchez, welcome.
Detective sanchez: Thank you all for coming. Is ridge…?
Eric: He’s on his way. Uh, we’d like to hear what’s going on.
Detective sanchez: Like i told brooke on the phone, I have the latest on sheila carter.
Steffy: Do you know where she is?
Detective sanchez: Yes. We’ve located the fugitive. Nexgard is the flea and tick protection
[Hope sighs]
Hope: Well, beth is all set up in her room with a movie.
Liam: Aww. Well, like she said, she’s a big girl now.
[Hope laughs] So…
Hope: Look, I don’t want to jinx anything. But I think this might be the perfect day.
Liam: Sure started out that way, didn’t it?
Hope: It did.
Liam: Hey. How’d it go?
Thomas: Wow. Okay, so, I don’t know if you guys have seen this yet but douglas has a cannon for an arm.
Hope: Oh, atta boy, kiddo! Yes!
Thomas: I am seriously impressed. That was an awesome job out there.
Liam: This is what I’m talking about. Finally, finally, an athlete in the family.
Thomas: Well, you know what? You keep practicing every day and you might pitch for the dodgers. How’d you like that?
Douglas: That would be awesome.
Thomas: Yeah.
Hope: Um, yeah, it would.
Douglas: Um, thanks for helping me, dad.
Thomas: You don’t have to thank me, bud. I’m always here for you. I’m your father.
Douglas: Yeah, I know, I’m– I miss you a lot. I wish we could be together more. Um, do you miss me when we’re not together?
Thomas: Of course I miss you, douglas. And– I– look, I know maybe it doesn’t feel that way all the time because I’m not around as much. But you know that I– I love you, right?
Douglas: Yeah.
Thomas: Yeah. Okay. You just– you just don’t like it when we don’t get to spend as much time together? Got it. Okay, well, look, I’ll tell you something. Even when we’re not physically together, we’re still kind of together because I’m always thinking about you. All right? Every moment of the day, I’m thinking about how your day’s going. When I go to sleep at night, I’m thinking, “how did his day go?” And, you know, “did he have fun at school or at camp?” And I try, you know, I try to keep in touch with your mom and make sure that you’re doing okay. But, maybe it’s not enough. Come here.
Finn: You found sheila?
Li: You have her in custody.
Detective sanchez: I didn’t say that.
Taylor: What are you saying?
Detective sanchez: This is what we know: Sheila carter was on the run. She was hiding out in the city. And at some point, she left los angeles.
Steffy: You lost track of her?
Detective sanchez: Security cameras spotted sheila somewhere outside of the sierras at a convenience store. Here are some stills from that camera footage.
Eric: Yeah, look. It does look like her.
Finn: That’s her.
Taylor: What does this mean, exactly?
Steffy: Yeah, it’s just a photograph. That’s all you got?
Detective sanchez: Well, we also found an abandoned car out there that we pulled sheila’s fingerprints from. And then at a campsite in the sierras, park ranger found some– very disturbing evidence.
Eric: Evidence like what?
Detective sanchez: Someone was attacked by a bear.
Taylor: A bear?
Steffy: Oh, my god. Are you serious?
Detective sanchez: Here, see for yourself. Although I should warn you.
Finn: Wait, is– so this is–
Detective sanchez: Photos of what’s left of sheila and some of her personal belongings.
Eric: Wait, what– what’s left of her?
Li: Everything’s ripped to shreds.
Detective sanchez: It was a chilling scene. We found her driver’s license and a broken cell phone. And this is an evidence bag. Contains some of sheila’s hair and her torn, bloodstained clothing. I mean, you get the picture.
Finn: Oh, man.
Taylor: Oh, my god.
Steffy: Are you sure this is sheila? You’re absolutely certain?
Detective sanchez: Dna evidence is indisputable. Points to one person and one person only. I will do great things today.
Douglas: Hey, um, dad, can we throw the ball some more?
Hope: Actually, douglas, honey, you still have that one chapter left of your summer reading.
Douglas: But I want to play with dad.
Thomas: It’s all right. We’ll– we’ll play a little bit later, all right, bud?
Douglas: Oh. Oh, okay.
Thomas: Okay.
[Door shuts] Yeah. Thanks uh, thanks for creating such a wonderful home for douglas.
Hope: Of course, there’s nothing I wouldn’t do for him.
Thomas: I’m glad to hear you say that because it’s really hard hearing douglas talk about how much he misses me. It makes me feel like, well, I’m not pulling my weight as a father.
Liam: Oh, I– I can tell you, he doesn’t doubt how much you love him. He knows.
Thomas: Well, I don’t want him to ever question that. I gotta say, he does have a reason to feel overlooked.
Hope: He would never feel that way.
Thomas: Obviously he does. Look, I– I was already thinking about this. Um, I asked granddad if I can move in with him and um, I think it’d be great if douglas moved in, too. That way, the father and the son can spend time together like they should. I would love that. And I think douglas would too.
Hope: Wait, so are you suggesting that douglas move out of here, the home that he knows with his sister to go live with you?
Thomas: Yeah, I think it’s time. And obviously you can see him whenever you want.
Hope: You know what? I think this is a conversation that we should have later because I don’t want douglas to overhear anything. So I think we should table this discussion right now.
Thomas: Okay. I’ll go. I don’t want to upset douglas or you, just tell him I said bye.
Liam: We will.
[Hope sighs]
Liam: Uh, wow. That– yeah, that was um, something.
Hope: Can you believe that? Can you believe what he’s asking?
Liam: No– I– I know.
Douglas: Where– where’s dad?
> Hope: Oh. Um–
Liam: Uh…
Hope: You know what, sweetie? Your dad actually, he had to, he had to leave. But he told us to say bye and not to worry, you are going to see him again very, very soon.
Thomas: From now on, I’m gonna be much more involved in your life, douglas. You’re never going to doubt how much your dad loves you.
[Brooke sighs]
Eric: Is this for real?
Li: She was mauled by a bear?
Taylor: How do you know it’s sheila?
Detective sanchez: All the blood, all the evidence we found at the campsite belongs to her.
Finn: So what are you saying?
Taylor: Are you saying that sheila’s dead?
Steffy: She’s gone for good.
Detective sanchez: That’s exactly what I’m saying. Sheila carter’s deceased.
Brooke: I’m still not convinced. Sheila is a master manipulator. And you said you found hair and bloody clothes and an I.D., A phone. But is that all? We need details.
Detective sanchez: There’s one more thing. Look, I understand you’re all skeptical, as was I and the deputy chief. And that’s why I uh, I brought this.
Eric: What is this?
Detective sanchez: It’s another piece of evidence.
Taylor: Is– is that a–?
Detective sanchez: One of sheila’s digits. Her middle toe to be exact.
Brooke: Oh. Oh. Oh, my god.
Steffy: Are you okay?
Finn: I– yeah. I’m kind of in shock. And, and I hate to think of my birth mom gone in such a vicious way but we won’t have to worry about her anymore.
Taylor: It’s over. It’s finally over.
Brooke: All the pain that she’s caused.
Eric: All the terrifying things that she’s done to this family.
Sheila: You want to play ugly? I wrote the book on it.
Stephanie: Ah!
Finn: Who are you?
Sheila: I’m your mother.
Finn: You’re my mother?
Sheila: No! If one of us isn’t meant to be in finn’s life, it’s gonna be you, steffy. You.
Detective sanchez: There’s no doubt about it. Sheila’s gone. She’s dead. This time forever.
