Woman on P.A.: Paging
dr. Ross. Please report
to emergency immediately.
Sheila: I want– I want– I want my–my boy back, taylor.
Taylor: I know. I know you do.
Sheila: This never… should have happened. I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.
Brooke: Steffy and finn? What do you mean they’ve been shot?
Liam: They wouldn’t be in that alley.
Brooke: Are you sure? What are you saying?
Hope: They’re okay. Right, dad? Dad, are they okay?
Deacon: Honey, finn didn’t make it.
Deacon: He–he– he didn’t survive. Finn’s dead.
Brooke: What do you mean he’s dead?
Deacon: Look, they tried everything they could to revive–
Liam: Wait. What–steffy. What about steffy?
Deacon: Steffy’s alive. She’s alive. But she’s in bad shape.
Deacon: Steffy’s in very serious condition.
Liam: Oh, my god. Oh, my god.
Brooke: Does ridge know?
Deacon: I called him as soon as the ambulances left the scene.
Liam: What am I even doing here? I got to go to the hospital.
Hope: Go. Yes. Go. Just go.
Brooke: This is horrifying. I had a feeling something bad had happened.
Hope: Who would do something like this? I–I– I don’t believe it.
Brooke: I can only imagine what taylor and ridge are going through. My heart is breaking for them.
Taylor: I don’t want steffy to be alone. I’m gonna– I’m gonna check on her.
Ridge: Li. I’m so sorry.
Li: I am, too.
Ridge: Taylor just left to see steffy.
Sheila: Li. I wanna see my son.
Li: He’s not your son, sheila. He’s mine. Finn is my son.
Taylor: Hi, sweetie. It’s mom. We’re all here with you right now, just waiting for you to wake up. You have to wake up, steffy. Hayes and kelly need you. I need you. We all need you. I’m steve.
Hope: Steffy has to be okay. She has to be, for the kids. I mean, hayes, he can’t lose both of his parents.
Brooke: Steffy is tough. She will come out of this.
Deacon: God, I hope so. She was out cold when they took her away. And finn, I mean– now his life’s over?
Hope: My heart goes out to sheila. I mean, when she finds out…
Brooke: She will be crushed.
Deacon: She already knows. I told her the terrible news about finn.
Sheila: Li. This is devastating for me, for you, for all of us. I understand your heartache, ’cause none of this should have happened. None of it.
Li: I’m praying steffy is okay. She’s the mother of my grandchild. I know she loved finn very much.
Ridge: We all loved finn. And we’re gonna do everything in our power to make sure his memory stays alive, okay?
Li: Thank you. Please, give steffy my best. Tell her I’m rooting for her.
Ridge: I will.
Thomas: Hey. You wanna grab a cup of coffee?
Sheila: I wanna see my son. Just one more time.
Li: No. I’m looking after finn now.
Taylor: God. This can’t be happening. Oh, my precious girl. You know, your father and i were just– we were just talking about you. Probably while all this was going on. We were talking about how fearless you are, how strong you are, and how you’ve been like this your entire life. And, baby, I need you to keep fighting. I need you to fight like you’ve never fought before, because I need you to come back. Please. Please, steffy, if you can hear me, I need you to come back. I need you. I lost your sister, but I am not going to lose you, too. Please come back to me, steffy. Baby, I need you to wake up. Please. Please. (Cat 1) friskies world!
Brooke: You already spoke to sheila?
Deacon: Yeah. Obviously, it was a huge shock for her.
Hope: And finn is such a sweet guy. He’s a– a great father, a caring doctor. It’s just not fair.
Deacon: Life isn’t fair, honey. This sure as hell proves it. I–look, I know that sheila isn’t exactly anyone’s favorite, but, I mean, my god, she lost her son tonight at the hands of a lunatic.
Sheila: This never should have happened. It was a terrible accident.
Li: An accident? How can you say that?
Sheila: Okay, what I meant is finn didn’t deserve this.
Li: My son was murdered in cold blood. Shot and left to die in an alley while his wife lay bleeding next to him. Whoever did this is a vicious, evil monster, and I will make sure they pay for what they’ve done.
Sheila: Of course. Who could even live with themselves after– after taking our precious… boy? We both lost a son tonight.
Li: “We” didn’T. You can’t lose something that was never yours, sheila. Finn never accepted you.
Sheila: No, that’s not true. We were making progress.
Li: I adopted him, raised him, supported him. I am his mother.
Taylor: You’re my girl… forever. My strong, fearless warrior. And I feel so helpless.
[Crying] Do you remember the song I used to sing you when you’d get scared at night sometimes? And I’d lay next to you. And you’d fall asleep.
[Monitor beeping steadily]
How I wonder
what you are
up above the world so high
like a diamond in the sky
how I wonder
what you are
Ridge: That was always her favorite, you know. I was doing that today. I was thinking about she was young and innocent. Whole life ahead of her. How is she doing?
Taylor: She is fighting for her life.
Ridge: You’ve just got to… you’ve got to rest, you know? And just keep resting. And then come back to us, and you know, we’ll just– we won’t waste another moment. Not one more moment. I don’t get any of this. These machines and… …what happened. Are you one of the millions of americans
Sheila: We’re both mothers, li. My son–our son is dead.
Li: Stop it. I’ve heard enough out of you, sheila. You stay away from me. Do you hear me? Stay the hell away from me.
Taylor: Li? Oh, I am so sorry.
Li: I still can’t believe it.
Taylor: Oh. My heart breaks for you, li. I lost a child tragically, too, and the pain isn’t describable.
Li: I know you understand. I just–I wish steffy wasn’t in danger.
Taylor: She’s hanging in there. We’re hoping for the best.
Li: That’s why I came by. I am, too, for the kids’ sake.
Taylor: Thank you.
Sheila: Taylor. How is…steffy doing? Is…she improving?
Taylor: I mean, she– she’s hanging in there. But my daughter needs all the prayers in the world.
Sheila: If she wakes up…
when she wakes up, she’s gonna be able to help solve this case, find the person that did this.
Taylor: Well, yeah, I mean, we are hoping that she regains consciousness, of course, but right now we just– we’re just focusing on her health. We just– we just want her to be okay.
Sheila: Yeah, of course. You’re her mother. So I’m sure you can understand why I really just wanna see finn just one more time.
Li: No. I told you. I’m taking care of my son now, the way I always have.
Deacon: I’ll tell you one thing. The cops aren’t gonna stop until they catch this killer. High profile case like this, that shooter’s going down.
Brooke: If they can find him.
Deacon: Oh, you better believe they will.
Brooke: Any word from liam?
Hope: No, not yet. He’s probably just getting to the hospital. I…I hope he’s okay. I mean, steffy is the mother of his child. He… he must be worried sick.
Liam: Thomas! Thomas, hey, hey. How is steffy?
Thomas: She’s– she’s still with us.
Liam: [Sighs] Oh, thank god. Um…like, what? Do they–do they think she’s gonna be okay, or…
Thomas: I don’t know. Liam, her condition’s critical.
Ridge: Your mom loves to sing, you know. Sang to you guys all the time– birthdays, christmas, every time she put you to bed. She told me once she creates this bubble of sound to keep you safe. I don’t sing. You know that.
[Monitor beeping steadily] Fifth grade, I think sixth– no, fifth grade. John surguy. Remember that name? Does it, uh, ring a bell at all? Little english kid you had a crash on. I think he…said he wanted to study with you after school. I remember you came home that day. You were so giddy and all dressed up. But he never showed up, did he? Your mom called me. I was at work, and all I wanted to do was go over there and… go to his house, grab that little kid and grab him by the ankles and just hang him off his balcony.
[Sighs] Pretty immature, I know. I’m–I’m that guy. All I’m trying to say is when you get hurt, I get hurt. Every cut finger, every bruised knee, every boy that lets you down, every friend that disappoints you, every time you’re embarrassed, every time you feel fear, every time you get knocked off your motorcycle, every time you end up in here… …leaves a scar on me. And… I’m so scarred up, I don’T… I don’t like the person I’ve become. I-I’ve become the guy that can’t protect his daughter. I can’t protect you. And I can’t protect your kids. I can’t do it. And finn… so it has to be you. It has to be your music.
[Inhales sharply] It has to be your bubble that keeps these kids safe. You gotta come back. You have to. The world wouldn’t be that cruel.
