Liam: Hey. I’m really not just saying that. You’re not going to go through this alone, no matter what. And I’m gonna be here for you.
Steffy: Thank you. I’m not sure. I’m not sure what I need, but– just having you here is enough, you know? Helping me navigate this grief. Gosh. Doesn’t feel real. I can’t believe this is happening. How am I supposed to move on? Raise a family, without finn?
Li: I’m not letting you go, son. Not when there’s still a chance. And there is. There is.
Ridge: I was– I was so proud of thomas. He was– he was– he was just getting so much better.
Taylor: I know, but, ridge, you can still be proud of him. He has come so far.
Ridge: Has he? He lied to us again.
Taylor: I know. And I’m not condoning him for covering up what happened to brooke, but he– he let his emotions get involved, and sheila manipulated him.
Ridge: Sheila, right, so, he– he didn’t think that this would maybe affect somebody?
Taylor: We saw him struggling and we didn’t know why. He said he wanted to tell us. And then the shootings happened.
Ridge: That’s what he said, yeah.
Taylor: I believe him.
Ridge: Ah. Okay.
Taylor: Okay, we can disagree on that, but maybe we can agree on this. This doesn’t have to be public knowledge.
Ridge: Okay.
Taylor: Okay?
Ridge: We’ll deal with thomas in private.
Taylor: Okay. Brooke! How long have you been standing there?
Brooke: How long have I been standing here? Oh, about one or two seconds. Look if I’m interrupting…
Ridge: Don’t be silly. Come on in.
Brooke: Uh, uh. It’s good to see you here, taylor. You know, I’ve been thinking about you, and steffy and what you had to do to get sheila to confess. It’s quite unnerving.
Taylor: It was. Very.
Brooke: I still can’t believe she did it. Shot steffy. Killed finn.
[ Kettle whistling ]
Steffy: I should be thanking you again.
Liam: What, uh, wh– what are we talking about?
Steffy: When you were here, when we told the kids about finn.
Liam: Oh, well, are you kidding? I wouldn’t have been anywhere else. I wanted to be here to help you answer kelly’s questions. Or, I don’t know. I just figured if there was anything I could– hey, listen, hayes is going to have father figures. He’s going to have ridge in his life. He’s going to have thomas in his life. But he’s also kelly’s younger brother and… if you need me to play that role, I– I will step up.
Steffy: Thank you.
Liam: Yeah. Oh, also, um, hope wanted me to ask you if you, if you want any help planning a memorial service. I– I imagine you want one. So if you need us to make any phone calls.
Steffy: I appreciate that. And I’m planning on doing it. I just, I want to think about finn’s mother. I want li to be involved.
[ Machines beeping ]
Li: We know now about who did this to you, so you don’t have to worry anymore. Sheila won’t ever hurt you again. That awful woman. Tried to call herself your mother. She could’ve killed you. I saved you, son. Did all I could to keep you here. It’s time to come back. It’s time to come back, finn. Please, come back.
[ Sobbing ] Hi, I’m karen.
Brooke: Is there anything steffy needs right now? Maybe I could take the kids. And I know that hope wants to help, too.
Taylor: Well, I– I will let her know that you offered. I– I think that having kelly and hayes close by is good for steffy. It’s a much needed comfort.
Brooke: Yeah, I’m sure that’s true. I just keep thinking about them, those poor kids. Hayes is never going to remember his daddy.
Ridge: No, but he’ll know about him. Know what he did, know he gave up his life to save steffy. He was a hero. We’ll make sure of it.
Liam: You hungry? I can make you a sandwich.
Steffy: No, I’m fine.
Liam: I’ll even put meat in it.
[ Chuckling ] Okay.
[ Knocking on door ]
Liam: You’re expecting someone?
Steffy: No.
Liam: Chief baker.
Chief baker: Hi, liam. Um, may I?
Liam: Yeah. Yes, of course. Yes.
Chief baker: Hello, steffy. Uh, I hope I’m not intruding.
Steffy: No. No. Is that…
Chief baker: Finn’s wallet, his ring, your rings, also your purse.
[ Steffy sighing ]
Steffy: Thank you. It’s a lot harder than I imagined.
[ Sobbing ] His wallet. His rings. It’s just things. That’s what finn is now. He’s just… things.
[ Machines beeping ]
Li: They tried telling me you’re gone. Maybe, eventually I’ll have to admit that they were right. But not yet. And definitely not that night.
[ Sirens blaring ]
Man: Dr. Finnegan? Yes, the paramedics did manage to get a weak pulse in the ambulance. We see no brain activity, and we’ve done everything possible to save him. I’m afraid you know, as well as I do, there’s no chance to revive him.
Li: They may have given up on you, but I didn’T. I knew you weren’t ready to go. I know you can hear me, finn. I know you’re just as determined as I am, for you to wake up. You’re a fighter. Keep fighting. My name is trisha.
Brooke: Okay. Well, I’m going to take off and leave you two and go check on hope.
Taylor: Brooke, I– i want to thank you.
Brooke: Me? Why?
Taylor: Because it seems that your main concern is steffy and her kids, and sheila attacked you too. It was beyond cruel. It’s just a– a nasty thing to do to a recovering alcoholic. And as– as much as you seem to want to be here for steffy and the kids, I, I want to be here for you, too.
Chief baker: I didn’t mean to upset you, bringing these over.
Steffy: No, it’s fine. I’m– I’m glad you did.
Liam: I’ll um, I’ll walk you out.
[ Sobbing ]
[ Continues sobbing ]
Steffy: Oh, finn.
[ Sobbing ] I, uh, I got him this wallet for his birthday.
[ Steffy sniffling ]
Liam: You know, you should, uh, you should save this. You should keep it, for hayes, when he’s old enough. I have a few things left from my mom and,uh, it’s important. He’ll want it.
Steffy: Gah. Gosh. Until death do us part. It wasn’t supposed to be this soon.
Li: So glad I was there working that night. Twist of fate. The ambulance brought you to my hospital instead of steffy’s, with the doctor working on you, never believed you were going to pull through. So I smuggled you out of there. Signed the death certificates. No one caught on. So here you are. No one knows. They all think you’re gone. But you’re not. I won’t give up. (Dana)it’s very difficult for the family
Ridge: Well, I’m very happy that the two of you have found a way to put your differences behind you. For steffy’s sake, and for the kids. It’s what they need right now, right, for us to be united. To be a family. She just needs to know that she’s not alone.
Steffy: I might save this for hayes too. No, I’ll probably keep it for myself.
Liam: All right, good. Either way, finn lives on. In the people who love him.
Finn: Steffy forrester, will you marry me?
Steffy: Yes!
Finn: I give you this ring as a sign of my love and commitment to you.
Steffy: If you had told me then how little time we had?
Liam: It’s not fair. You two deserved decades together.
Steffy: I really can’t believe it. You can’T… we woke up that day, we had so many possibilities. Our whole life ahead of us. We were supposed to grow old together.
[ Sniffling ] And now he’s gone.
Li: Anyone else would have given up, not a mother. Not this mother. Do you know how proud I was when you graduated from medical school? When you got the er job? Knowing you had a bright future. How did it all go so wrong? We both know how. You got caught up in steffy’s world. The forresters, and all their baggage. That brought sheila, didn’t it? After all those years of raising you and loving you, your birth mother shows her face, demanding to be in your life? A life she tried to take. I could have lost you. But you’re safe now. You’re here, sweetheart. With your mother. I’ll always protect you. Whatever it takes. Whatever I have to do. Never give up on you, finn. Never.
Steffy: Finn’s gone. He’s really gone. And I just have to find a way to accept it. Somehow understand that he’s– he’s dead.
