[ Thomas sighs ]
Thomas: Go ahead, mom. Tell me what you’re thinking.
Taylor: You know what you did was hurtful and destructive, right?
[ Thomas sighs ]
Thomas it was never meant to be hurtful or destructive. Brooke is always in the way when it comes to your relationship with dad. So I removed her. It’s as simple as that.
Steffy: How did that turn out for you, thomas? You must be so pleased. Now, dad went to brooke’S. Mom’s wedding is ruined. Nice job.
Taylor: Well, I played a big part in how today turned out too, because I couldn’t tell ridge the truth before the wedding.
Hope: Steffy’s the one who told the truth.
Brooke: She stood up at the ceremony and she objected.
Liam: And so douglas was the one who told steffy? See, this is what I’m saying. What are a remarkable little kid, right? I mean, to stand up to his own father who he adores to do the right thing.
Hope: If douglas had kept quiet, ridge would probably be married to taylor still thinking that you were the one who called cps on thomas, I mean. And it’s clear that taylor didn’t volunteer that information.
Brooke: Yeah. Goes against her image, don’t you think? Oh, god. It’s all so shocking! Starting with thomas setting me up in the first place.
Hope: Yeah. Well, you were right about him all along.
Brooke: One good thing came out of all of this. Douglas is coming home.
Liam: Finally. I, uh, I hate to ask, but um, thomas isn’t the one bringing him, is he?
Hope: No, no. Eric. And they actually should be here soon. And I– I can’t wait to have douglas home. Finally. I am– I am so proud of that kid. I know how hard that must have been for him to stand up to his father.
Liam: Yeah. Especially ’cause thomas has no trouble intimidating his own son.
Brooke: I’m glad those days are in the past.
Hope: I mean, what happens next? Where do you go from here?
Brooke: I don’t know. I told ridge to just take some time and figure out what he really wants.
Hope: Well, you did the right thing by telling ridge to take stock.
Brooke: Yeah. Just can’t keep doing this back-and-forth thing with taylor. Actually, I– um, I have some unfinished business to take care of.
Hope: Okay.
Liam: Okay.
Hope: Bye.
Taylor: You know, I– I’m supposed to be taylor hayes forrester again right now. What happened to me today? I panicked. I– I couldn’t tell ridge the truth before the wedding.
Steffy: Hey, it’s been a long day. Why don’t we get you out of here? Okay?
Taylor: I need a minute.
Steffy: Yeah. Yeah, of course.
Taylor: I love you.
Hope: I feel foolish.
Liam: Why?
Hope: For trying so hard to believe in thomas.
Liam: Oh. Hey, you had a valid reason for wanting to keep the peace, right? Thomas has been making all these noises about custody. He wasn’t– he– he wasn’t bringing douglas home. I mean, it makes sense that you didn’t wanna set him off. For me, it’s different– it’s a different situation. Like, I don’t have to have a filter around thomas.
Hope: Well, I could have listened. There were signs and I just– I didn’t want to see them. Which brings me to something I need to tell you. After the preview at eric’s, thomas tried to kiss me.
Liam: He–
[ Clears throat ] He tried– oh, okay. He tried– son of a–
Hope: Liam, it’s fine. It’s fine.
Liam: Oh my god.
Hope: It is fine.
Liam: Oh my god.
Hope: It’s fine. I shut him down and he backed off. He backed off.
Liam: Yeah. Okay, okay. Okay. Why didn’t you tell me this sooner?
Hope: Because of everything that you just said. I didn’t want to make a bad situation worse. And– and we know how he feels about me. And at that moment, I– I believed him that he misinterpreted the situation. But now, now that he’s been exposed as the manipulator that he still is, I just, I don’t know. And I’m sorry.
Liam: Fine. Fine.
Hope: I’m sorry.
Liam: You’re all right though, right? Like, you’re okay?
Hope: Yes. Yes.
Liam: Okay. Well, hey, if you and douglas are safe, that’s all I care about, so.
[ Knock on the door ]
Hope: Oh!
Eric: Who’s home?
Hope: Douglas! Sweetie! Oh! I’m so happy you’re back. We missed you so much.
Douglas: I missed you guys so much too.
Eric: All right, kiddo. I wanna tell you how happy I was to have you in my house all this time. And how happy I was to get to know you better. You’re a terrific young man. You really are. But now, I agree it’s time for you to come home. Come home to liam and your ma.
Hope: Come here. Oh, welcome home.
Steffy: Done with this day.
Thomas: Mom and dad were minutes away from being married. Something you and I both wanted, and then you just destroyed it.
Steffy: You are unbelievable, thomas. What you did was terrible and wrong! Gosh, I just– I just want my normal brother back.
Thomas: I was just trying to help.
Steffy: Well, now mom is paying the price.
[ Door opens ]
Brooke: What a day.
[ Door closes ]
Taylor: If you’re looking for ridge, he’s– he’s not here.
Brooke: I already saw him.
Taylor: How did that go?
Brooke: I know everything. Just when you think thomas can’t get any more manipulative, he outdoes himself.
Taylor: Yeah. I am– I am very upset with thomas. But more than that, I’m really worried about my son.
Brooke: And you should be because he is sick and he needs help. Serious, professional, objective help. Not from his enabling mother, who seems to be making questionable decisions all on her own. Look, I– I feel sorry for you. I do. Because obviously thomas played you and you found this out, what, minutes before the ceremony? But you didn’t say anything. You were gonna go through with it. You knew what thomas did and you didn’t tell ridge. Hi, I’m jill and I’ve lost 56 pounds on golo.
Douglas: Thanks for letting me stay with you, great-granddad ’cause I had a blast.
Eric: Hey. Come here. Come here. Look, um, you’re a real light you’re smart and you’re funny and you’re brave. And you know right from wrong. Those are all things really important for somebody to have in this life. You’re gonna do fine. So, I’ll see you soon. All right? I’ll get out of your way.
Liam: All right.
Douglas: Bye, great-granddad.
Hope: Thank you for bringing him home.
Liam: Yeah.
Eric: Okay.
Hope: Bye.
Liam: Bye.
[ Both sighing in relief ]
Hope: Well, we are so glad that you’re home.
Liam: Wasn’t the same around here without you, kid.
Hope: Beth is going to be thrilled.
Douglas: Is she here?
Hope: Yes, but she’s napping. So you’ll see her in a little bit. But uh, we actually wanted to talk to you.
Liam: It’s– it’s– it’s nothing big. We just wanna check on you, make sure you’re all right. You’ve, uh– you’ve had a heck of a few days, haven’t you?
Douglas: Yeah, it’s been hard. After I found out what dad did with the voice app, making it sound like grandma brooke called cps, I knew it was wrong. He didn’t want me to tell anyone, but I played the recordings for aunt steffy.
Liam: Well, um, I hope you know that was so brave.
Hope: We’re very, very proud of you.
Steffy: Why do you have to play god with everyone’s lives? Mom and dad, they would’ve gotten back together maybe in a week. Just let it happen organically.
Thomas: Okay. That is called wishful hindsight, steffy. You think that brooke was just gonna stand by while mom and dad play happily ever after? No. She would’ve come in and used every weapon in her arsenal to break them up.
Steffy: I want mom and dad back together. I just don’t want them to start their marriage with a lie.
Taylor: Okay. For– for what it’s worth, I was going to tell ridge that thomas made the call to cps.
Brooke: But after the fact. I mean, what did you think, taylor? Thought after you and ridge were married, ridge wouldn’t care if thomas set me up like that?
Taylor: No, no, no, no. I– I knew that he would care. I knew that it would matter. I just wanted to hold tight to the belief that it wouldn’t matter to us getting married today.
>Brooke: It did matter to ridge. In fact, he felt awful that his son targeted our marriage. And he would’ve felt that way if he married you or not. This whole time, I’ve been trying to grasp why he left me and why he went to you. Why he proposed to you.
Taylor: Okay, hold on a second. Now, I know that you don’t wanna acknowledge this, but ridge and I love each other very much.
Brooke: And I know you don’t wanna acknowledge this. Ridge never would’ve left me to go be with you unless I did something unforgivable. So, your son comes up with a devious little plan to clear the road for you to go straight to my husband. And you knew what was going on the whole time. I expected better from you, taylor. You didn’t live this strong, this long to get put
Douglas: Dad kept saying that no one could know he called cps. I didn’t wanna make him mad, so I tried to keep his secret.
Hope: But you couldn’T.
Douglas: Grandma brooke was being blamed for something she didn’t even do. Just wasn’t right.
Liam: Yeah, but the fact that you know that? It’s awesome.
Douglas: It’s good to be back here. I missed being home with you guys and beth.
Hope: Yeah. Well, we missed you too, honey.
Liam: And wait until beth finds out you’re home. She is gonna flip.
[ Hope laughs ]
Hope: She is going to be so happy, just like us.
Liam: Yes, siree.
[ Hope squeals with excitement ]
Hope: We missed you.
Liam: Family hug.
[ Laughs ]
Steffy: Of course, I want brooke out of dad’s life. Of course, I want that. But I’m not gonna set her up to take the fall for something she didn’t do. Look, why do you always have to relearn this thomas? There are some lines you just don’t cross.
Thomas: Here we go again. Steffy trying on her little halos while thomas is the bad guy. It’s great.
Steffy: Stop it. Stop it. Stop. Stop it. This is not gonna fly with me. It’s not gonna fly. Not with me, not with mom, and especially not with dad. The damage you caused, dad feels betrayed by you. Mom’s heart is shattered again. You may have gotten away with this sick, misguided behavior, but not this time. You’re gonna have to pay the consequences.
Brooke: Ah! I’m just stunned. I really am. For somebody who claims to take the moral high ground. In fact, isn’t that why your kids always thought we were so different? Meanwhile, you were willing to take advantage of thomas’s manipulation and marry ridge and he would be none the wiser.
Taylor: Okay. Well, when you spin it like that, it sounds like I was harboring the secret all along. And that is not true. I– I– I found out five minutes before the ceremony started.
Brooke: Well, then you should have gone straight to ridge to tell him the truth.
Taylor: Well, like I said, I was going to tell him everything. I just–
Brooke: When? When he slipped that ring on your finger? Do you know how deceptive that is?
Taylor: Yeah. It’s a mess. See, today was a day that my kids and I have been wanting for a very long time. And it was– it was finally here. This ful truth came out. I had steffy insisting that I go downstairs and tell ridge right away and thomas telling me to just get married.
Brooke: Well, of course, thomas would give you that self-serving advice.
Taylor: I agreed with both of them. Of course, steffy was right, but thomas made excellent points. He just reminded me that ridge and I weren’t getting married because of anything that you had done. It was because ridge and I belong together. And that’s exactly what happened when ridge came to aspen, brooke. I was done. And– and ridge told me that he was there. It had nothing to do with you. And that he had just seen the light. But I didn’t wanna hear it. I didn’t believe him. So I ran. I ran away from ridge because I was scared I was gonna get hurt again. But– but he chased me. He chased me up to the top of a mountain and he told me that he wanted to be with me. He swore to me it had nothing to do with anything you had done and that he just wanted to be with me. For always.
Brooke: Well, the truth is, ridge left me because he thought that I betrayed him and I didn’T. But you knew the truth. So you had to know that these last few weeks that you were spending with him, it was all based on a lie.
Taylor: So where do things stand between you and ridge?
Brooke: I told him to do some soul-searching. Told him he needed some time to figure out what it is that he truly wanted. And that he couldn’t come back to me until he could completely commit to me. That I can’t do this anymore. I can’t do the back and forth between you, me, and ridge, and sharing his heart with you. I just couldn’T. It wasn’t fair for any of us. And you and I didn’t, and we don’t, deserve that.
Taylor: No.
Brooke: So, what it’s worth, I’m sorry.
Taylor: Thank you. I’m sorry too. I’m so sorry for what my son did to you, brooke. It was– it was awful. And for what? You know, for this? Goodbye, brooke.
