Days Opinions For The Week Of March 25, 2024

Opinion Article

John from Days

Maybe it’s just us but we find it hard to believe that John was so broken up about killing Konstantin’s daughter. John has killed people in the past and some of them were probably innocent. Now he is suddenly so upset that he killed Konstantin’s daughter. Speaking of Konstantin, we find it hard to believe he forgives John for killing her. He was like a man on a mission trying to make John pay for what he did. Now suddenly Konstantin wants to forgive John. Since he still has the pawn card, Konstantin probably has plans to make John his pawn.

Was Theresa really angry about Alex was “dating” Kristen because she loved him or was she trying to hold on to her meal ticket? She was the one who didn’t want to be with Alex so she didn’t have a right to be upset that they could be together. Theresa should have thought about her plan before she decided to break up with him. She must have thought she could have things both ways.

Brady wasn’t acting like a man who wasn’t interested in Kristen. He seemed jealous at the idea of Alex being with Kristen. When Alex and Theresa got together, he seemed jealous that they were dating. Now that Alex is “dating” Kristen, Brady was jealous again. Does Brady secretly have feelings for both women? Brady is in denial about his feelings for Theresa and Kristen.

Eric proved he’s the worst husband in the world. We don’t know why Sloan would even want to be with him. Eric always puts Nicole ahead of her no matter what the situation is. We know Sloan is a kidnapper, but Eric doesn’t. He continues to put Nicole ahead of Sloan regardless of her feelings. Eric should think about his wife’s feelings instead of his ex’s. How would he feel if the shoe were on the other foot? He would expect Sloan to choose him over her ex.

Do the writers need to consult the soap bible so they can remember the history of the characters? The people in Salem tend to forget that they are related. Theresa referred to Sloan as Sloan Peterson as if they aren’t related through marriage. Tate referred to Johnny as Holly’s stepbrother as if they weren’t cousins. Johnny and Tate are linked more than Holly and Johnny, yet Tate acted as if Holly was closer to Johnny than he was.

We loved seeing Jada rip into Stephanie about Everett. At first, we thought Jada was being a little hard on Stephanie when she said she wouldn’t have hooked up with Everett if she knew he was married, but the longer they were talking, we were Team Jada. Jada was right about Stephanie standing by Everett’s side when Jada told her what he did to her. Stephanie was acting as if Everett needed her by his side just because he didn’t have anyone else in Salem. She didn’t care about her friendship with Jada. Jada doesn’t have family in Salem either, but Stephanie’s concern was Everett.

Why wouldn’t Eric’s siblings be at Jude’s christening? It’s not believable that Carrie and Rex would miss the christening. You would think the writers would have written an excuse for why none of them were there. It’s a safe bet that the christening wasn’t planned on short notice, so they had time to be there. We understand they aren’t on the show anymore, but they could have recasted them or made an excuse for why they are there.

Kristen: Didn’t your mother ever teach you never to keep a girl waiting?
Alex: Six whole minutes?

(about Theresa living with Brady)
Kristen: Does your pea brain grasp how counterproductive that is?
Alex: Look Cruella. I’m not one of your little puppy catchers, so if you want my help with this you better not talk down to me.

(to Sarah about Victoria)
Xander: My daughter’s not going to go anywhere with boys until she’s 27. Even then I’m going to be there with her.

(to Theresa about Kristen being crazy)
Alex: Maybe I like a little crazy in my life. I mean I was with you.

(when Theresa came in the DiMera mansion)
Theresa: Harold let me in. I’m guessing you were too lazy to get up.
Kristen: Well that’s what servants are for.

(to Kristen)
Theresa: This is not 1955. Parents can co-parent kids without being together.

(to Harris about who could have framed Xander for shooting him)
Xander: Unfortunately, Salem is filled with a number of people who would want to do him in. EJ DiMera being at the top of the list.

Priest: Are you here for a confession?
Leo: How much time do you have?

Daytime Soap Opera Short Recaps

Days of Our Lives logo

Recap written by Michele and Cheryl

Eric talked to Sloan about Nicole hosting their Christening. She had trouble forgiving Nicole after what she did. Theresa and Brady talked about Tate staying away from Holly. She talked to Tate about focusing on his work and not on Holly. John told Marlena that he had to live with taking a woman’s life. He felt he had to live with it for the rest of his life. Marlena reminded him that he didn’t remember the time. She said there’s no evidence he had anything to do with her death. John told her that Steve was there. She explained that Steve and Stefano were there too. Marlena didn’t trust Steve’s memory. She said that what he’s going through hurts her. He never wanted to hurt her. Marlena said he was a good man. Melinda told Leo that he wasn’t going to the Christening. Leo insisted that he was going because they were responsible for why Eric and Sloan had Jude. Melinda threatened him to keep his mouth shut or he would go to prison. Sloan apologized to Eric about her attitude about Nicole hosting the Christening. She said it was kind of EJ and Nicole to host it. Sloan realized that it would be good for them. Holly let Nicole and EJ know that she wasn’t going to the Christening. They wanted to know what was wrong with her. She insisted that she was okay. Holly wanted them to go, but they refused if she didn’t go.

Leo didn’t like how Melinda brought up his arrangement with Sloan. Melinda comforted herself with knowing that Jude was being taken care of. Leo thought Eric was a good parent, but Sloan didn’t have a maternal nature. Holly didn’t want Nicole and EJ to miss the Christening. Nicole wondered if she was uncomfortable because Brady and Theresa would be there. She talked Holly into going to it. Marlena wanted John to put his guilt away for one day to focus on Jude. She wanted him to do it for her. John agreed to do it for her. Melinda arrived at Sloan’s place and asked her about Leo being invited to the wedding. She reminded Sloan that it would be wrong for Nicole and Leo to be together. John and Marlena arrived at the church. He felt like it calmed him down. They spotted Leo at the church. Leo approached them to see how they were doing. Other guests arrived at the church. Things got awkward for Brady and Theresa when Nicole and EJ arrived at the church. Roman tried to ease the tension by complimenting Nicole’s dress. Marlena noticed that John was troubled. He was having a hard time. Holly arrived at the church. She asked Theresa how Tate was doing. Theresa snapped at her. Brady stopped her from getting smart with her. The priest started the Christening. Leo thought about Nicole giving birth to Jude while the priest was christening him. Leo interrupted the ceremony because he had something important to say.

Tucker: Hey, Jack. You got a minute?

Jack: For you, no.

Tucker: Ah, wait. It’s important. Please.

Jack: You know, I’ve been coming to this club my whole life. I love this place. What I don’t like is the increasing likelihood I’m gonna run into you. Why are you still here?

Tucker: Well, I live here.

Jack: I meant in genoa city. Isn’t glissade your new life’s work in Paris?

Tucker: You know, there’s this really neat new invention. Um… what’s it called? The internet. And, uh, you can be in one place and do work in another. Unbelievable. You should check it out.

Jack: Maybe you could use it to get yourself a one-way ticket to France. There is nothing like face-to-face time with your employees, especially when you had to hire a whole new staff and board. Or are you staying away so they don’t get to know the real tucker McCall?

Tucker: Has it ever occurred to you I might move glissade here

Cole: Can I talk with you and Claire in private?

Claire: Well, if whatever you have to say is about Jordan, you can speak freely. I told Kyle the whole ugly truth, just so you know.

Kyle: Um, this sounds like a family matter, and I should– I should probably get back to Harrison anyway.

Claire: There it is. That’s the reaction I was waiting for. Better run.

Kyle: I’m impressed. Not many people could bounce back after what you’ve been through. And for the record, I’m not running. I’m just giving you all some privacy.

Claire: Thank you.

Victoria: This is novel. A stress-free day with no surprises in store. Feels like it’s been forever.

Claire: I think maybe it has been forever for me. Being free of Jordan, not being worried about her next plan or when she might pop in again and try to ruin our lives. My whole life I’ve been on edge because of her.

Victoria: You don’t have to worry about that anymore. We’re free to go out and do things without looking over our shoulder constantly. In fact, I think that’s exactly what we should do. We should do something incredibly normal. Like, go for a long walk or a drive or a mother-daughter shopping spree. Or we could go see a movie. I think that we deserve that, don’t you?

Claire: Maybe we start by just going to lunch? Without security guards

Victoria: Wow, look at us. Out and about.

Claire: You do this with Nikki, right? Mother-daughter lunches?

Victoria: Absolutely. All the time. Now it’s our turn.

Claire: It’s still weird, the difference between researching you and actually knowing you.

Victoria: Oh, well, I don’t think I want to know what they say about me in the press or on social media.

[ Claire laughing ]

Claire: The press doesn’t know how silly you can be or how sweet or that you’re not the best baker?

Victoria: Oh, well, I’m sure that Johnny and Katie are gonna tell you all about that. In the meantime, there’s just so much that I want to know.

Heather: Oh, right. Okay, just, uh, for the sake of argument, let’s say you met this guy.

Daniel: Uh-huh.

Heather: And you just– you can’t stand him.

Daniel: Okay.

Heather: But he asked Lucy to the prom, and she’s over the moon, thrilled to go. You’re not actually gonna tell Lucy she can’t go, are you?

Daniel: Yeah, maybe I am.

Heather: Okay, that’s pretty funny to me, because you’re the biggest pushover I’ve ever seen when it comes to Lucy.

Daniel: That’s– no, that’s not true. I have said no to her plenty of times. Like, once when she was three, and she asked me if i would teach her how to drive.

Heather: Hm. Lucy’s always made good choices when it comes to people she’s hung out with, so I don’t see why this boy that she has a crush on will be any different.

Daniel: Sure. Let’s just hope that he’s not like me when I was his age.

Devon: We haven’t gotten that far yet, no, but when we do, we will welcome your input.

Billy: Oh, I’m sure you will. You won’t even tell me the reason behind it. I mean, come on, it’s gotta be pretty serious. You’re gonna fire the person you’re in a relationship with, lily. So, you’re not in a relationship with him anymore. Is that what’s behind this?

Devon: Can you drop this, Billy?

Billy: Oh, I get it now.

Devon: Can you please drop this?

Billy: So something happened between heather and Daniel, and now you want to fire them both.

Lily: Right.

Heather: Um, I just wanted to say that I’m really glad that Mattie is doing better, and– and it must have been so nice.

Lily: Okay, heather, I’m– I’m– I’m not– I’m not doing this with you. Okay? I don’t wanna hear your “what do you mean?” Act. All right? I left town, you got what you wanted, so good for you. Congratulations. I have nothing to say to you.

Heather: Lily, I swear to you, there was– there was absolutely nothing, and by nothing, I mean zero premeditated about what happened between Daniel and I, and I– I never, ever intended to hurt you.

Lily: I know you never intended to hurt me, heather. Do you wanna know why? Because you didn’t think about me at all. I was not a consideration to you.

Heather: But that’s not true.

Lily: And do you really expect me to believe it wasn’t premeditated? I know that your feelings for daniel came back before I even left. You saw that he was the man that you wanted him to be. You saw that, and you wanted him back.

Lucy: You know, prom is still months away, but I was just asked to be on the decorating committee, which is really cool because technically I’m still the new girl. But I can’t be on the decorating committee and show up to prom without a date. And what if no one asks me? Speaking of asking, you know waylon marrs? He’s the kid with the really great hair and he’s really smart. I mean, I wonder who he’s going to take, because I would be a pretty good date.

Devon: Actually, you know what? If I’m being honest, it was kind of peaceful here with you gone.

Billy: Yeah? Is that right?

Devon: Yeah. No one was trying to change the name of the company. Or exert their power inappropriately. It was great.

Billy: Oh, that’s funny. What about aunt Mamie?

Devon: What about aunt Mamie?

Billy: Amanda informed Jill of Mamie’s latest proposition. How she would like to split the company in two and keep it merged together in name only. I mean, if that’s not an attempt at exerting inappropriate power, devon, I don’t know what is.

Devon: I think that was just a suggestion though, right?

Billy: Right. A suggestion. Like I suggested we add “Abbott” to the company name. Except with you, devon, there’s always this accusation that I’m trying to orchestrate some sort of power grab. Which I’m not. But I think it’s very clear that Mamie would love nothing more than to split this company into two.

Phyllis: Really? Why the sudden desire to want to help me? I mean, is this your one act of good karma for the week or…

Billy: Hm. Hm. That’s actually interesting. Yeah. Yeah, maybe you’re right. Maybe it is. I had to leave Chelsea alone to deal with some challenges that Connor is going through up at school, and I didn’t want to come back, but she insisted that I come back. She said she wanted to spend some quality time with her son, and I feel guilty about that. So, yeah, you are the beneficiary of me wanting to feel useful today.

Nick: Nah, drink’s not gonna happen for you. I feel like you’ve had plenty already.

Nick: Really?

Phyllis: Mm-hmm.

Nick: Okay, Phyllis.

Phyllis: I had an epiphany. Do you want to hear it?

Nick: Sure.

Phyllis: Don’t try to change. Ever. It’s a waste of time.

Nick: You know that’s not true, Phyllis. I’ve admired the way you’ve tried to change.

Phyllis: It’s true. Oh, what good has it done? I mean, my kids… still walk around me like they’re walking on eggshells.

[ Sighs ] My friends… I don’t even have any friends, that’s for sure. And, uh, then… I thought I really had a chance at happiness. That just blew up in my face. It was crushed under… the history… that I have that I will never, ever escape from. So, why try?

Nikki: Well, that is true, uh, to each other and to other people. We’ve both been through a lot, but, um, we always managed to find our way back to each other. And I guess that’s a testament to the devotion we have for one another and for our children, our grandchildren. Family is very important to us. You see, victor was raised in an orphanage.

Claire: I had read that, but Jordan said that that was just a phony publicity story manufactured by newman enterprises to counteract victor’s ruthless reputation.

Victor: Well, for his sake, I wish that were true, but he did grow up in an orphanage, and family was something that he always yearned for. And now that he has one, he makes damn sure that nothing will happen to any of us, including you.

Claire: Me? After everything I did?

Nikki: As far as he’s concerned, anyone with a drop of Newman blood is family, and he will love and protect them forever

One note: One of the interviewers is edited out because she kept asking spoiler questions. I might put her back in after the season is over, if I have time.

Sonequa Martin-Green

Sonequa Martin-Green is a versatile actress who continues to evolve her impressive body of work with ground-breaking, complex roles and memorable performances across television, film and the stage.

Martin-Green will next be seen in Warner Brothers’ “Space Jam: A New Legacy,” starring alongside LeBron James and Don Cheadle. The film is a sequel to the 1996 film “Space Jam,” the highest-grossing basketball movie of all time.

Most recently, she starred in “The Outside Story,” a Brooklyn-based indie comedy-drama led by Brian Tyree Henry. “Billions” actor Asia Kate Dillon, Sunita Mani (“Glow”), Olivia Edward (“Better Things”) and Michael Cyril Creighton (“Spotlight”) also co-starred in the film, the directorial debut of writer/director Casimir Nozkowski. While famous for working under prosthetics in iconic feature film roles, Doug Jones is also a versatile character actor who has performed as himself in guest star roles on shows like “Arrow,” “The Flash,” “Teen Wolf,” “Z-Nation,” “The Neighbors,” “Criminal Minds,” “C.S.I.” and NBC’s horror anthology “Fear Itself.” A veteran of over 100 commercials, Doug was Mac Tonight, the moon-headed piano player in the long-running 1990s McDonald’s campaign. He also starred as the lead villain in “Hush,” an Emmy-winning episode of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” long considered a fan favorite. Doug was also a semi-regular guest judge on the hit SyFy Net reality series “Face Off.”

In 2005 he played the title role of Pan (as well as the nightmare character known as The Pale Man) in Guillermo del Toro’s Oscar-winning Spanish language fantasy/horror feature “Pan’s Labyrinth.” But it was his sensitive and elegant performance as Abe Sapien in del Toro’s 2004 box office hit “Hellboy” that brought Doug’s unique work to a wider audience. He went on to voice that same character for the Emmy-nominated Cartoon Network animations “Hellboy: Sword of Storms” and “Hellboy: Blood and Iron.” In 2007 Doug’s title role performance in “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer” was hailed by fans and critics alike. 2008 saw Doug reprise his starring role (as well as two other characters) in “Hellboy II: The Golden Army,” once more under the direction of del Toro. Days of Our Lives Update

Days of Our Lives logo

Update written by Joseph

The priest officially baptizes Jude. Leo then interrupts, announcing that he’s sorry but he has something very important to say that can’t wait. Sloan questions what he’s doing. Leo says it’s what he should’ve done from the very beginning.

Tate continues reading through his journal in the halfway house, saying that he should’ve told the truth from the very beginning instead of trying to protect Holly since he’s the only one who ended up in trouble.

The priest asks Leo if he’s sure he doesn’t want to go to a private confessional. Leo responds that this is something he needs to say in front of everyone, causing Sloan to worry.

Tate continues reading his journal about wanting to protect Holly and says he has no one to blame but himself for being locked up now.

Nicole comments on being to a lot of interrupted Salem weddings but not a Christening. Eric warns Leo not to make him regret inviting him. Roman questions why Leo was invited. EJ asks if he should call the police and have Leo removed so they can continue with the baptism. Nicole points out that Leo hasn’t committed a crime but EJ says he’s not sure about that. Jude starts crying, so Melinda hands him over to Sloan. Leo hesitates and looks over at a statue of the Virgin Mary. Leo then stops and claims that he just didn’t disclose that he’s covering this event for the Spectator so if anyone objects to having their photo taken, they can speak now or forever hold their peace. Sloan sighs in relief as the priests asks if that’s all. Leo says no and that while he has the floor, he knows a lot of people here have experienced losses. Leo talks about losing Dimitri while Nicole and EJ lost their baby which he knows is just the tip of the iceberg of losses that people here have suffered. Leo then remarks that baby Jude has his entire life ahead of him which brings them hope and he’s honored to be his fairy Godfather which he takes very seriously. Leo adds that Jude means a lot to him because he’s an amazing kid. Brady jokes that Jude is lucky to have two Godfathers and the rest of the room applauds. Eric lights a candle as the priest resumes the Christening ceremony. John decides he needs some air and steps outside, so Marlena follows him out.

John tells Marlena that he’s okay but didn’t feel comfortable hanging out in the house of the Lord, knowing what he has done. Marlena encourages that God’s mercy has no bounds. Marlena reminds John that she urged him to focus on the blessings of the day like his family and a new child, while forgetting about his own pain for one day. Marlena asks John to do it for her because it’s very hard for her to see him suffering. Marlena reminds John that Konstantin was able to forgive him for the death of his daughter, if he had anything to do with that. Marlena asks if John can at least forgive himself.

Tate continues reading his journal, saying his whole family is at a baptism and hopes they are praying for a miracle for him, otherwise he will be trapped in this place for a long time.

Theresa tells Brady that she’s going to take off to visit Tate. Brady says to tell him that he’ll be there by the time visiting hours end as she exits. Melinda pulls Leo aside and questions his dramatic interlude, calling him a blithering idiot and complaining that she saw her life flash before her eyes. Leo remarks that all’s well that ends well and walks away. EJ and Nicole step aside with Holly and say they are heading home before the guests start arriving there. Holly says she’ll see them in a few as EJ and Nicole then exit the chapel. Eric, Sloan, and Melinda talk about Jude being the star of the show. Sloan decides to take Jude to the car while Eric says he’ll be right there. Sloan takes Jude and exits with Melinda while Eric sees Holly is crying, so he approaches her to ask what’s wrong.

Theresa visits Tate at the halfway house. Tate asks about the Christening. Theresa says Jude got through it without crying and that Brady is a very proud Godfather. Tate encourages that Brady will be great. Theresa suggests Tate telling Brady that because he had his doubts. Tate asks if that’s because he’s such a screw up. Theresa encourages that’s not the case. Theresa shows Tate a picture that she took of Brady with Jude. Tate questions Alex not going with her, so Theresa reveals that they broke up. Tate is surprised and asks if it was because of him.

EJ and Nicole go home to the DiMera Mansion. They stop outside as EJ asks if she’s okay. Nicole responds that she knew it would be hard to watch Eric and Sloan christen their son after losing their baby, but she’s glad that she showed herself that she could get through it. EJ calls her heroic. Nicole says her whole goal was to not fall apart which she managed. Nicole thanks EJ for letting her throw the reception. EJ assures that he’s so proud of how generous she is for being willing to do this. Nicole knows how EJ feels about Eric. EJ decides it’s important to her, so it’s important to him. Nicole admits that she couldn’t help but be distracted by Holly at the church since she knew she was reluctant to go. Nicole feels Holly seemed not only uncomfortable, but so sad which is unlike her. EJ says Holly has been through a lot, so it will be a long time before she feels like her old self again.

Holly asks Eric not to tell anyone else if she tells him something. Eric promises that whatever she shares with him will stay between them. Holly responds that she’s ashamed that she kept this secret for so long and she doesn’t think he will be shocked, but really disappointed in her. Holly then reveals to Eric that on the night she overdosed, she’s 100% sure that the drugs were not Tate’s because they belonged to her.

Leo runs in to Sloan and Melinda outside in the park. Sloan tells Leo that she’s very grateful that he didn’t blow their baby swap secret sky high in the middle of Jude’s Christening, but asks if he is insane. Leo complains that he was overwhelmed by the majesty and that the priest had him feeling repentant. Leo says he saw Nicole looking sad and he was moved to do the right thing. Sloan argues that when EJ mentioned calling the authorities, he realized how much trouble he would be in. Leo admits that was part of the reason. Sloan argues that he didn’t think about what would happen to them. Leo talks about thinking about Nicole and Holly and then decided it would be best for everyone if he kept his mouth shut. Sloan calls him a nutjob who almost ruined their lives. Leo promises he will never be tempted again to tattle on the three of them. Leo asks them to stop being negative as they are going to party at the DiMera Mansion. Leo walks away, leaving Sloan and Melinda in disbelief.

Steve enters the DiMera Mansion for the reception and greets EJ, Nicole, and Roman. Steve goes over to John and Marlena to ask how it’s going. Marlena says it’s going well and asks about Kayla. Steve says they were short staffed at the hospital, so she couldn’t leave. Roman joins them. Marlena asks about Kate. Roman explains that she’s helping set up the buffet tables. Roman calls the Christening very moving while Marlena calls it perfect. Steve notices John looking uncomfortable. Roman asks John if he caught the Royals vs. Rangers game. John responds that he missed it and steps away. Roman asks what he said. Steve says it’s not him. Roman asks Marlena if John is okay. Marlena admits that he’s not. John starts complaining at the portrait of Stefano about what the old man did to so many people while EJ comes over and jokes that talking to himself is never a good sign. John responds that he’s here because he loves Eric and Jude, but he can’t get out of the DiMera Mansion soon enough. EJ tells him to feel free to leave anytime. Marlena comes over and comments to EJ that it was so kind of them to host the reception. EJ says it was all Nicole’s idea and assumes it’s his fault that Sami isn’t there today. Marlena explains that Sami is actually with a friend who just lost their husband. EJ asks about Belle. Marlena tells him that she is with Shawn. EJ says he wishes them all the best. John argues that he doesn’t and that DiMeras don’t care about anyone but themselves. John declares that Tate is locked up because of Stefan running a drug front for Clyde and it doesn’t get any more evil than that. John warns EJ to stay away from his family and walks away with Marlena.

Theresa tells Tate that she and Alex did not break up because of him and asks why he would think that. Tate argues that Theresa had to take so much time to deal with his problems. Theresa assures that he will always be her priority. Theresa says that she and Alex took a break for a lot of reasons. Tate questions if taking a break means they will get back together. Theresa asks why he cares. Tate guesses that he doesn’t like seeing her alone which Theresa calls sweet. Theresa says she doesn’t know and that time will tell if she and Alex will get back together.

Brady arrives at the DiMera Mansion and tells Nicole that he finally made it. Nicole says she’s glad he did and that he’ll be glad to know that Kristen agreed to stay away from today’s festivities. Brady is glad but admits he was hoping to see Rachel. Nicole says she’s sorry as she can’t imagine being separated from her own child. Brady talks about how selfless it is for Nicole to do this for Eric and Sloan. Nicole feels she’s selfish for trying to prove to everyone that she can be truly happy for them. Brady asks if she is. Nicole says she mostly is. Nicole adds that she really thought everyone would be here by now and asks where Holly is.

Holly guesses that Eric must be so disappointed in her. Eric responds that he’s not here to judge her and promises not to tell anyone, but he insists that she tell her parents. Holly responds that she can’t and that Tate even said she shouldn’t. Eric asks if she really thinks Tate wants to stay in a halfway house because of what her parents will think about her. Holly explains that it’s not that but what it will do to Nicole to find out that she’s not her perfect little girl. Holly worries that Nicole will blame herself for everything from her baby dying to the overdose. Holly states that after all Nicole has been through, this will kill her. Eric argues that he knows Nicole is a lot stronger than she thinks. Eric acknowledges that Holly is in agony because of this and Tate is suffering because of her behavior. Eric tells Holly that she needs to do this, not just for Tate but for herself. Eric hugs Holly as she cries. Sloan comes back in and asks if Eric is coming so they aren’t late. Eric says he’ll be right there. Eric encourages Holly to think about what he said as he then exits.

Steve asks when the party is getting started and where the guests of honor are. Roman responds that he has no idea. Leo arrives, so Roman jokes this should liven things up. Roman questions the stunt that Leo pulled at the chapel. Leo claims he just gave a heartfelt speech about love and loss. Roman points out that his speech didn’t start out heartfelt and questions why he would interrupt a Christening just to tell people that he was covering the event for the Spectator. Leo questions Roman cross examining him and claims his only agenda was to lift people’s spirits. Leo remarks that he has a special connection with Jude and walks away. Roman questions why he somewhat believes Leo for once. Marlena asks how Nicole is doing. Nicole says she’s okay but she’s not sure about Holly since first she wasn’t coming to the service, then she decided to come by herself while now she said she’d be home in a few minutes. Holly then comes home. Nicole hugs her and says she was worried about her. Steve sits with John and says he saw him staring at Stefano’s portrait. Steve tells John that when he worked for Victor, he did that willingly but when Dr. Rolf implanted a chip in his brain, he had no choice and was basically turned in to Stefano. Steve says he could’ve killed John then and came real close. John argues that Steve didn’t kill him because something inside of him stopped him. Steve says no, it was sheer luck and that John saved himself. John wishes he could’ve done something to save Catharina. Holly walks through the room and steals a glass of champagne. Leo sees her as Holly exits the mansion to drink it.

Outside the mansion, Holly hides the champagne glass behind her as Eric, Sloan, and Melinda arrive with Jude. Eric questions what she’s doing outside. Holly claims it got stuffy inside so she came out for some air. Eric points out that it’s chilly out and she’s not wearing a coat, so he suggests she come inside. Eric, Sloan, and Melinda head in. Holly stops to finish her glass of champagne before following them in.

Marlena tells EJ that she was hoping Johnny and Chanel would be there since she ordered them a wedding gift that finally arrived and she has it in her trunk. EJ calls that very thoughtful of her and says they hardly left Paulina’s side but they found some time to get to the Salem Inn to celebrate their wedding night a few weeks late. Marlena thanks him for letting her know. Roman jokes with Steve and John that Stefano must be turning over in his grave to have the DiMera Mansion full of Bradys celebrating a happy occasion. John walks away again, so Roman asks Steve what’s going on with John. Steve says he’s sorry but it’s not his story to tell. Eric, Sloan, and Melinda enter with Jude. Eric apologizes and announces they had a diaper emergency. Holly follows in and places her champagne glass back. Jude starts crying so Nicole offers to try to calm him down. Eric hands Jude to Nicole and he stops crying.

Tate comments to Theresa that he’s a juvenile delinquent and talks about the photos that Theresa showed him from the Christening. Tate talks about Eric looking so happy, but Nicole looking worried. Theresa thinks it was just rough for Nicole since she lost a baby a few months ago.

Nicole hands Jude back to Sloan, who says the day was almost perfect as she looks over at Leo. Brady calls for everyone’s attention as he proposes a toast to Jude, Eric, and Sloan. Brady states that Eric’s been waiting a long time to be a dad and he’s already a good one. Eric says he learned from the best. Brady adds that Sloan will be a wonderful mother as they toast to them. Nicole looks around and questions where the hell Holly is.

Holly exits the mansion with another glass of champagne and drinks it. Holly then pulls out her phone and calls the halfway house. Holly pretends to be Theresa again and asks for Tate. The woman then informs Tate that he has a call from his mother, which shocks Theresa who is still with Tate. Theresa then takes the phone and questions who it is. Holly gets scared and hangs up.

John asks Marlena if they can leave yet. Marlena decides she’s sure Eric will understand. Roman tells Eric it’s a great party. Eric asks if he’s leaving already and where Kate is. Roman says she’s packing up the leftovers to donate to the food bank. Marlena tells Eric that it’s been a wonderful party but they have to go. Steve adds that it was a beautiful Christening. Eric thanks them all for being there. Marlena says she loves him and Jude. Steve congratulates Eric as he, Roman, John, and Marlena exit. Sloan comes over with Jude and tells Eric that Jude is looking ready for a nap, so she thinks the party is over. Eric asks for a minute to talk to Holly before they leave and says it’s important. Sloan points out that Jude is about to start screaming as Eric says he just can’t leave yet. Leo comes over and offers Sloan a ride home which she accepts and adds that they can drop Melinda off too. Eric gives Leo his keys to grab the carseat out of his car. Leo, Sloan, and Melinda then exit with Jude as Eric watches Holly.

Roman and Kate go back to the Brady Pub. Kate complains that she knows Nicole was just trying to be nice but it would’ve been a lot easier if they just had the party at the Pub. Steve arrives and asks for a drink of scotch. Roman asks if this has something to do with what’s going on with John. Steve says he could say that.

John returns to the chapel and lights a candle. John begins to pray and says when he was a priest, he used to say that no one is ever unworthy of God’s forgiveness. John then laughs off that he wasn’t really a priest because everything he believed about himself was a lie, as is everything he believes about himself now. John knows he shouldn’t allow himself to suffer so much over this since Konstantin is the one who truly suffered. John asks God to come up with a way to help him through this if it’s not asking too much. Marlena joins John and says it’s not asking too much and that God will help him with it as she will too, because they are in this together as John hugs her.

Leo brings Melinda and Sloan to Sloan and Eric’s apartment. Sloan puts Jude to sleep while Melinda calls Leo an obnoxious creep. Leo says he’ll be on his way. Sloan warns Leo that what happened today can never happen again. Leo says he knows while Melinda says the pact is official that no one can ever know that Jude is Nicole’s baby. Leo points out that he couldn’t tell the truth in a church so he won’t anywhere else, unless the money stops rolling in. Sloan says she knew he’d say that. Leo declares that the money will keep rolling in or else their lives will go down the toilet. Leo calls them an unholy trinity, the only three people in the world to know that Jude came from Nicole DiMera and they are the only three who will ever know.

Theresa informs Tate that she instructed the staff that he is not to receive any more calls here. Theresa asks who it was. Tate claims he doesn’t know. Theresa guesses it was Holly. Tate says maybe it was. Theresa asks if Holly called before. Tate admits that she did. Theresa questions if he talked to her. Tate says he thought he was answering a call from Theresa. Theresa argues that he should’ve hung up as soon as he realized it wasn’t her and reminds him about the restraining order. Theresa asks if Tate wants to go to jail and ruin his whole future. Theresa questions what is wrong with Holly, complaining that she’s done enough to ruin Tate’s life and that she better leave him alone from now on.

Brady returns to the living room and asks where everyone went since he just took a work call. EJ informs him that the party is over. Brady says he was on his way out as he is going to see Tate. EJ tells Brady to leave Holly alone. Brady remarks that he was just stating a fact while EJ argues that he only said it to upset Holly. Nicole asks them not to do this now. Brady then goes to leave but Holly stops him. Holly tells Nicole that she’s so sorry. Holly then announces that it was her drugs on the night she overdosed, shocking Nicole and EJ.

Jude, you have become a new creation and have clothed yourself in Christ. See in this white garment, the outward sign of your Christian dignity, unstained into everlasting life of heaven. Amen. Sorry. So sorry. And sorry to you as well, oh lord. Oh lord. I have something to say. Something that is very important.

Something that cannot wait. Leo, what are you doing? What I should have done from the very beginning.

I should have told the truth from the beginning. And I never would have been in this mess. I lied for Holly so many times. And I helped her break up Johnny and Schnell. And then she ODs and I lie because I don’t want her to get in trouble. And then the only one who gets in trouble is me. Sir, are you sure you don’t want to schedule that private confession in the confessional?

No, this is something I need to say in front of everyone.

I get that telling the truth is hard, but Holly said she would. So why the hell did I tell her not to? I know why? Because I want her to think I was this totally selfless. God, it was so dumb and pathetic. Now I’m going to be stuck in this stupid room, writing in this stupid ass journal for a long time. And I have no one to blame but myself.

I’ve been to a lot of interrupted salient weddings, but a christening? Leo. Don’t make me regret inviting you. Why was he invited? Shall I summon the police and have Leo removed so he can crack on with the baptism? Honey, he hasn’t committed a crime. No, I wouldn’t be so sure about that. Oh. Shh, shh, shh.

What I neglected to say, well, the truth is, um,

I didn’t disclose that I am covering today’s blessed event for the society pages of the spectator. Therefore, if anybody has any objections to their photograph being taken. Speak now or forever hold your peace. Is that all? No. While I have the floor, I would also like to say, I know a lot of people here have suffered losses.

Speaking for myself, I lost the love of my life.

Not to death, but still, my heart aches for him and always will.

Nicole and EJ lost their baby, which was a terrible loss. And I know that it’s just the tip of the iceberg of losses that people gathered here today have suffered.

But precious baby Jude, who is being christened here today, Has his entire life in front of him.

And that brings us hope. And I am honored to be his very godfather. Some may cast a skeptical eye, but that is a role that I take very seriously. You see, this little boy means a lot to me because

Well, because he’s an amazing kid. Two godfathers for the price of one. Here’s one lucky kid.

Like sand through the hourglass. So are the days of our lives.

Parents and godparents, this light is entrusted to you to be kept burning brightly. This child of yours has been enlightened by Christ. He is to walk always as a child of the light. May he keep the flame of faith alive in his heart. When the Lord comes, may he go out to meet him with all the saints in the heavenly kingdom.

You have been clothed in Christ, baptized in his name. Alleluia. Hallelujah. I need some air. John?

Doc, why don’t you go back inside? I’m okay. I just I didn’t feel comfortable hanging out in the house of the Lord, knowing what I’ve done. But isn’t this really the best place?

God’s mercy has no bounds. Do

you remember what I said this morning before we came to the christening?

I urged you to focus on the blessings of the day. Our family and a new child. Forget about your own pain for right now. Just for, just for the one day, you know, and I love you. If you can’t do that for yourself, then maybe you could do it for me, because it’s very hard for me to see you suffering.

Constantine was able to forgive you for the death of his daughter, if you even had anything to do with that. So can’t you at least forgive yourself?

My whole family’s at a baptism right now, and I hope they’re praying for a miracle for me. Because otherwise I’m gonna be trapped in this place for a really long time.

Um, okay, I’m taking off. I’m gonna go see Tate, okay? Okay, tell him I’ll be there, uh, by the time biz hours are over, okay? I will. Hey, hey. So, a little dramatic interlude? What the hell was all that about? Ah, language, Melinda. Have you forgotten that we are in a church? No, but I think you’ve forgotten not to be a blithering idiot.

My God, I think I saw my life flash before my eyes. Yeah, well, all’s well that ends well. Holly, honey. EJ and I are gonna head out. We need to get home before the guests start arriving. Okay, sounds good. Um, I’ll see you in a few. Alright, I’ll see you at home. Okay.

How was the star of the show? He was such a trooper, huh? Yes, he was. Shit. And now his little eyes are closing, so we’re gonna take him to the car. Great. You know what, I’ll be right there. Okay.

Hey. What is it? Hi, Mom. Hi, my love. Wow, nice dress. You look very pretty. Thank you, honey bunny. Um, tell us the christening. Oh, Jude got through it with flying colors. Didn’t even cry once. Really? Mm hmm. And your dad was a very, very proud godfather. Yeah, he’s gonna be a great one. Make sure to tell him that, okay?

Cause he’s not so sure. Why isn’t he sure? Oh, is it because I’m a screw up? What? No, Tade. It’s because he thinks he is, and we both know he isn’t. He loves you so much with all of his heart. He’s a really good dad. Actually, I, I took this picture of him at the christening. Like, there he is. With his godson. Oh my god, he’s holding him like a little football.

Yeah, he used to hold you like that too, you know. Are you scrolling for pictures of Holly, Doug? No, I was actually looking for one of you and Alex. Didn’t he go with you? No. Actually, we broke up. Oh. I didn’t know. It’s because of me, isn’t it? You

doing okay?

You know, I knew it was going to be hard watching Eric and Sloane christen their son after just losing our little baby. But I, I am glad that I showed myself I could get through it. And you did. You were heroic, in fact.

Hey, Jay, I don’t, I don’t know about that. I, I just, my whole goal was to not fall apart and I think I managed that. Anyway, thank you, thank you. For letting me do this. Throwing the reception, I mean. I’m not letting you do anything, sweetheart. I’m so proud of you. How generous you are. So nice that you, that you’re willing to do this, that you want to do this.

I don’t know how you feel about Eric. But this is important to you, so it’s important to me.

You know, I couldn’t help but be distracted by Holly at the church. I mean, I know she was reluctant to go because she didn’t want to be around Theresa and Brady, but it’s important. I mean, she’s just not only seemed uncomfortable, but she seems so sad. It’s not like her at all. Hey, she’s been through a hell of a lot.

I’m sure it’s just gonna be a long time before she feels like her old self again. Yeah? It’s okay. Eric, if I

tell you something, will you promise not to tell anyone else? I promise. I might not be a priest anymore. But anything said in confidence here is sacred to me. I promise. Whatever you share with me will stay between us. Okay, then. God, I’m ashamed I’ve kept this a secret for so long and I don’t think you’re going to be too shocked when I tell you this, but you’re going to be really disappointed in me.

The night that I OD’d, I’m 100 percent sure the drugs I took weren’t teeth. Because they were mine.

Oh, you’re still here? Yeah, and I’d like a word. I sense a lecture coming. Leo, while I am very grateful you didn’t blow our baby swap secret sky high in the middle of Jude’s christening, How should I say this? Are you insane? Look, me in a church is like Mother Teresa in a casino. I was a fish out of water.

I was overwhelmed by the majesty of it all. And that priest, he got me feeling all repentant. Then I looked over at Nicole, and she looked so sad, and I started thinking about the night Jude was born, and I don’t know. I think I was compelled by the Holy Ghost. Whatever, the point is I was moved to do the right thing by Nicole and EJ.

Until EJ mentioned calling the authorities and you realized how much trouble you would be in. Well, yeah, until then. That’s part of why I decided to shift gears. Yeah, and before you did that strategic shifting, I highly doubt you considered how much trouble we’d be in. Although I imagine you thinking of your gravy train ending factored into you not blurting out the truth.

Well, I saw Sloane looking all Madonna esque. Oh, the Virgin, not the Queen of Pop. The Virgin. Oh, clearly it was an apparition. And then I glanced at Nicole and I thought about that pouty teen Holly and what a hot mess she’s turned out to be and I thought, it might be best for everyone if I keep my mouth shut.

Yeah. So I did. Will you both stop looking at me like I’m Vlad the Impaler? I am looking at you like you’re Leo the loose lipped nutjob who almost ruined my life! And mine! And yours! Well, almost doesn’t count, now does it? Look, I promise I will never be tempted again to tattle on the three of us. Can you both stop being negative Nancys and let’s go party?

The champagne sitch at the DiMera mansion, it is on point. I would not.

Hello everybody. Hey. Hi. See you again.

Marlena. Oh. John. Hey buddy. How’s it going? Eh, it’s going well. Where’s your wife? Well, she was hoping to get here on time, but they were short staffed at the hospital. She couldn’t leave. Oh, what a shame. Hey. Hey there. Hi there. Hi. And where’s, uh, where’s Kate? Well, she’s here. She’s helping, uh, put up the buffet tables.

That, uh, Christine was very moving, wasn’t it? It was perfect.

Joan, um What are you up to? Catch that incredible Royals Rangers game Sunday? No, I missed it. Excuse me. What did I say? It’s not you, man. Is he okay? Marlena. No, he’s not.

Damn you all.

Talking to yourself? Never a good sign. I’m here because I love Eric and his little boy, but I can’t get out of this house soon enough. You’re free to leave anytime. E. J. It was so kind of you and Nicole to host the reception. Oh, this was all Nicole’s idea. I assume it’s my fault that Sammy isn’t here today?

No. Could be further from the truth. Sammy actually had a friend who’s recently lost her husband, so she felt she had to be with her. Oh, I see. And Belle? Belle is with Sean. Oh. Well, I wish them all the very best. No, you don’t. Demures don’t wish the very best to anybody but themselves. Just screw everybody else.

John. My grandson is locked up because of that stuff your brother is spreading out there on the street. Running a drug front for Clyde West and doesn’t get any more evil than that. And I

And you’ll what? John.

Stay away from my family, Junior. You’re real. Or I’ll You need to learn to finish your sentences, John. I think you know how he was going to finish that sentence.

No, Tate. Alex and I didn’t break up because of you. Why would you think that? Guys, you’ve had to take so much time dealing with my problems, worrying about me. You are my priority. You always will be. I’m done. Alex and I, we, we took a break because of a lot of reasons. Took a break? Does that mean that you’re going to get back together?

Why do you care? I don’t know. I guess because I don’t like seeing you alone, Mom.

Well, that’s really sweet. Um, I don’t know. Well, maybe Alex and I might get back together again. Hmm. Time will tell.

Finally made it. Oh, hi. Hi. I’m, I’m glad you did. And I think you’ll be happy to know that Kristen agreed to steer clear from today’s festivities. Oh, well, it’s always a pleasure not to see Kristen. It’s open to see Rachel, though. Brady, I’m sorry. I, I can’t. It’s Imagine being separated from my own child.

Yeah, it’s, it’s, it’s pretty bad. But it’s also pretty selfless of you to do this for Eric and Sloane, given that you just recently lost a child. I mean, everything you’ve been through, really? Brady, it’s not selfless, it’s selfish. You know, I guess I’m just trying to prove to everyone, including myself, that I can be truly happy for them.

And are you? Mostly. More or less. You know, I really thought everyone would be here by now, and, and, and, we’re in the world with Holly. You must be so disappointed in me. I’m not here to judge you. I promise I won’t tell anyone. But I insist that you tell your parents. No, I can’t. Tate even said I shouldn’t.

Do you really think Tate wants to stay in a halfway house because of what you think your parents are going to think of you? Eric, it’s not about me. It’s about my mom. She’s going to have such a hard time when she finds out I’m not her perfect little girl. She’s going to blame herself for everything. For the baby dying, my ODing, and After all she’s been through, this would kill her, Eric.

Holly, your mom is a lot stronger than you think. I don’t know. Well, I do. She is tough, and she is resilient. Trust me, I know.

You’re in agony, all because of this.

Tate is suffering because of your behavior. Yeah, I know.

Holly, you need to do this. Not just for Tate, but for yourself.

Eric, are you coming? Can’t have the guest of honor being late. You’re right. I’ll be right there.

Holly, I want you to think about what I said.

When’s this party getting started? Uh And where are the guests of honor? No idea. Ah, I have arrived. Well, this should liven things up. Bill. Huh? What was that all about, to start you, Paul? Back at the chapel? What do you mean, stunned? All I did was give a heartfelt speech about love and loss and the preciousness of life.

For which I got a round of applause, left many people feeling verklempt in case you didn’t notice. Yeah, well your speech didn’t exactly start out heartfelt. Alright, and why would you interrupt the christening? Just to tell people that you were here to cover the event. Prospector, why? Why would you cross examine a guest at said christening whose only intention was to lift people’s spirits?

Whose only agenda today is to celebrate your adorable grandson with whom I have a very special relationship. And why would I actually somewhat believe this guy for once?

All right. How are you doing? Well, I’m, I’m okay. But I’m, I’m not sure about Holly. I mean, at first she wasn’t going to come to the service at all. And then she changed her mind and said she was going to drive herself. And then when I told her EJ and I were leaving, she said she’d be along in a few minutes.

And now I, I don’t know where There she is. Oh, honey, honey, honey. Stop. Oh, my God. No, no, honey. I’m fine.

Hey, buddy. I saw you staring at the old man’s portrait. You know, back in the day, when I worked for Victor, I did that willingly. But I had no choice when Dr. Rolf implanted that chip in my brain. And for all intents and purposes, turned me into Stefano.

I could have killed you, John. I came real close. But you didn’t. You didn’t kill me because there was something inside of you that stopped you. No. It was sheer luck. You saved yourself.

Well, I just wish I could have done something to save that young woman.

Holly, what are you doing out here? Uh, you know, I just, um, needed some fresh air. It’s really stuffy in there. Yeah, it’s a little chilly outside. You’re not even wearing a coat. Why don’t you come inside?

You know, I was, I was actually hoping that Johnny and Chanel would be here. I, I’d ordered them a wedding gift and it finally arrived and I thought I would give it to them. I actually have it in my trunk. Oh, that’s very thoughtful of you, Marlena. As you may know, Johnny and Chanel have hardly left Paulina’s side, but they did manage to carve out some time and get to the Salem Inn to celebrate their wedding night.

Albeit a few weeks late. Okay. Thanks for letting me know. You’re welcome. I love it. Stefanoff’s. Gotta be turning in his grave. A house full of braids, celebrating a happy family occasion. Steve, would you tell me what’s going on with that guy? Sorry, dude. Not my story to tell. Sorry everyone. We had a diaper emergency, but, uh, you see all these people there for you, bud.

What do you think? Oh. Damn, where’s that plastic bag? You mind if I try? Yeah, we can play pass the pussy, baby. Yeah. There you go. Alright.

Wow, so many friendly faces, not one of them’s a fellow JD. Hey, you are not a juvenile delinquent, Tate. Oh, Uncle Eric looks so happy in this one. But, Nicole doesn’t, she looks really worried, doesn’t she? Yeah, actually, in that picture, she does. It’s weird, right? I mean, I think that she’d be happy now that Holly’s out of her coma and doing really well.

Still, I think it was really rough for her to go today, you know, considering she lost a baby a few months ago.

Someone’s had a big day. Yes. It was a great day. Oh yeah. Here you go, mama. Almost perfect.

Uh, if I could have everyone’s attention, please, just for a second. I would love to make a toast. To my beautiful, beautiful godson. And to my brother. And my sister in law. My brother Eric. He’s been waiting a long time to be a dad. And I have no doubt that he’s gonna be a hell of a good one. I learned from the best.

And Sloane, You’ll undoubtedly be a wonderful mother. So with that, Cheers, and God bless! Cheers!

Where the hell is Holly?

Serenity House, Salem. This is Olivia. How may I help you? Hello. May I please speak with Tate Black? This is his mother. Tate? You have a call? Hello? It’s your mother? What?

I’m his mother. I will take that call. Thank you. Who is this? Hello?

So what do you think, Doc? Can we get out of here yet? Oh. I’m sure Eric will understand. All right.

Hey, great party. Especially the food. Yeah, I agree. Are you leaving already? And by the way, where’s Kate? Uh, she’s helping pack up the leftovers. We’re gonna donate them to a food bank. Well, that’s very nice of you. Eric, darling, it’s been a wonderful party, but we have to go. Okay. It was a beautiful christening.

Thank you. Thank you all for being here. Hey, we love that little guy. And we love this big guy too. We’ll see you, Eric. Love you. Love you. Congratulations, man.

Well, this boy’s looking ready for a nap. I think the party’s over. Yeah, okay, um

Something wrong? Can I get a minute? I just need to talk to her before we leave. Again? Well, it’s important. Well, Jude’s about to start screaming his head off, so Well, I just can’t leave yet. Well, I can’t leave yet. As awesome as this party has been, despite the boring and snooty guests, so how about I give you and the baby a ride home, swan dear?

Sure. And we’ll drop Melinda off too. Oh, great. I’ll be happy to drop Melinda on her head at her house. Hey, Leo, would you, uh, mind grabbing the seat out of the car? Sure. Shall we?

is trying to be nice but it would have been a hell of a lot easier if we could have just had the party here. Yeah, we wouldn’t have had to slap all this stuff over to that old mausoleum.

Oh good, you’re open. Don’t tell me you’re still hungry. Actually, I’m looking for a scotch. A little early, don’t you think? Don’t dare judge me, man. I have no special occasion. How about that? Does this have something to do with what’s going on with John? Could say that.

Well, you know, when I was a priest. I used to tell all my parishioners that no one was ever unworthy of God’s love and forgiveness.

But then again, I really wasn’t a priest.

Because everything that I believed about myself was a lie. As is everything that I knew. I believe about myself now. I know, I know, I know. I shouldn’t allow myself to suffer so much over this because Constantine is the one who truly suffered. But, but do you think you can come up with a way to help me get through this?

What is that? Asking too much? It’s not asking too much,

and of course he will help you with it. I will too, because we are in this together. He’s sound asleep.

Well, you did have a very big day. All that love and attention, which some people never get in an entire lifetime. All in one day. Oh, is that your excuse for being an obnoxious, unscrupulous creep? Actually, it is. What’s yours? You know what? Since you both seem to be in this let’s insult Leo mode, despite the fact that he already has very low self esteem, I will be on my way.

Leo, before you go, I need to say that what happened today can never, ever Don’t worry, I will never try and do the right thing again. We have made this pact official, Leo. No one will ever speak about how this is Nicole’s baby ever again. Hand to God. And look, if I couldn’t tell the truth in a church, what would possess me from trying to tell the truth somewhere else?

Oh wait, I know. If the money stops rolling in. How did I know you’d say that? The same way I know that the money will keep rolling in, otherwise our three lives go down the proverbial toilet. We are an unholy trinity, girls. The only three people in this town who know that that child sprang, or rather was pulled very lovingly and gently by me, From Nicole DiMera, and we are the only three who will ever know.

I’ve instructed the staff you are not to receive any more calls here. Great.

Who was that? I don’t know, Mom. You’re the one who talked to her. It was Holly, wasn’t it? Maybe. Has she done that before? Called you here? Once. Did you talk to her? I thought she was you. Oh my god, you should have hung up then. Right when you realized that it wasn’t me. I mean, do I have to remind you that there’s a restraining order here?

We just talked about this this morning. Do you want to go to jail? Tay, do you, do you want to ruin your whole future? What is wrong with that girl? Hasn’t she done enough to ruin your life? Mom. She better leave you the hell alone from now on.

Where’d everyone go? I just stepped out to take a work call. Didn’t you get them, my mom? Party’s over. It’s okay. I was, uh, on my way out anyway. I’m going to see Tate. Leave her alone. What do you mean, leave her alone? I was just stating a fact, EJ. Which you only stated to upset my stepdaughter. Okay, can we please not do this now?

Fine. Yeah. I’m outta here. Bye. Brady, wait. Don’t go yet. Why? I’m sorry, Mom. I’m so, so sorry. Sorry, honey, for what? The drugs.

The night that I OD’d. The drugs were mine.

Oh, you clean up nice. Oh, sorry. A lot on my mind. You look lovely as per usual. And you seem awfully distracted right now. Um, I assume it’s about Stefan turning himself in? It is. It’s a lot to process. But you know what? Not today. I’m going to compartmentalize, as they say. And we should get going, actually.

I’ll get Holly. Oh, hey! Why aren’t you dressed? We’re gonna hit the road in like five minutes. I’m not going. Well, well! If it isn’t the godmother herself. And how are you this glorious morning? Doing well, Leo. And you? I’m fine. Exceptional to a fault, as always. Exceptionally overdressed for working at the paper, no?

Uh, Lady Whistleblower is always fashion forward, no matter the venue. Today, however, Lady W is playing hooky. Oh, well, if you excuse me. So, where is it? Where’s what? The christening gift for your godchild. Bad form for the godmother to forget something so important. But maybe, just maybe, yours truly may have the fix.

Did you pack more bottles? Uh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I also packed some extra onesies, because who knows, I don’t think it’s gonna be able to stay in that christening gown. Not long, I’m guessing. Yeah? Oh, I cannot believe you used to wear this. Well, you know, it’s family tradition, and uh, as you know, you just keep it going.

Yeah. I just can’t stop smiling. Uh, yeah. I can see that. I knew this was going to be the happiest day of our lives. And now that it’s here, it’s just kind of like, Wow. Hey, what are you thinking? Oh, God, it’s just, Having the party at the DiMera’s with Nicole hosting. I, I, I’m trying to stay positive, Eric, I really am.

But I, I don’t know how to feel about it. I’m still so, so uncomfortable. Sloane, we talked about this. I know, I know, I know we have. And I know, especially on a day like today, I should be more forgiving. But every time I look at Nicole, all I think about Is, is, you know, when she thought June was her baby and, and, and kidnapped him.

I mean, do you know how hard it is for me to not think about that?

You know, Godfather, it’s got a nice ring to it, huh? Have you given it a spin? The Godfather. A man who doesn’t spend time with his family can never be a real man. That’s not bad. Thank you. Yeah. Maybe I should bring some cannolis. That’s funny. I know. Are you gonna eat that breakfast? Cause I will. Hey, hey, hey.

I got a fork here. I’m not afraid to use a fork, okay? I know. Alright. Actually, you know what? I have to call Tate. Um, Okay.

Hi, can I speak to Tate Black, please? Yes, this is his mother, Teresa Donovan.

Hi baby, how are you? Good. Um, listen, so the plan is I am gonna come and visit you after Jude’s christening and then your dad, he’s, he’s gonna come see you after the party.

Yes, of course we’re gonna see Holly at the chapel. Oh, I hate seeing Tate like that. I mean, he seems so upbeat, and then when Holly’s name got brought up, he I know, and he’s upset about the restraining order. I mean, he’s gotta stay a hundred feet away from her, which I think is extreme, but it’s no surprise EJ’s driving this train now.

I don’t know. You know, if they were to stay a million miles apart from each other, I really wouldn’t mind. God, Brady, why can’t that girl just come clean and tell everybody that Tate did not give her the drugs? Tracy, you know why? Because she’s, she says she doesn’t remember what happened that night on New Year’s Eve.

Well, let’s just hope that Sloane Peterson comes up with something to force EJ to drop the charges. God, I don’t, I don’t think that’s going to happen. I think our boy is going to be in that halfway house until, you know, Till the trial. But you know what? You shouldn’t be worrying about her. You should be focusing on your schoolwork instead of thinking about the girl who got you into this mess.

do you need some help with that? Please. Hey. At that time when we were on vacation. Yes, we did. We got that tie from an old man on the Via Della Spiga, who couldn’t stop telling me how beautiful you are. I couldn’t stop agreeing with him. Oh, I remember that. You know, we should plan a vacation. In fact, something has occurred to me.

I’ll give you a hint. Aloha. Hmm? I see what you’re doing, Don. But running away from what you’ve done isn’t going to change anything. Okay, fine. Then what is? Because you are agonizing over something that you What is something? That something was the murder of an innocent young woman. I took her life. And that is something I gotta live with for the rest of mine.

Like sand through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives.

John, John, by your own admission, you have no memory of that time.

And, and there’s no clear cut evidence that you had anything to do with that girl’s death. Steve was there. At the scene of the crime. And he does remember seeing anyone else there but me. Stefano and Victor were also involved. So who knows what the truth is? And I’m not even, I’m not even sure that I trust Steve’s memory.

John, you were You’re, you’re punishing yourself. You’re beating yourself up. You’re questioning who you are. That isn’t okay. Look, you, you doing this is, is, is so painful and it’s even hurting me. I’m sorry, baby, because the last thing I want to do is ever hurt you. I know that. But it does hurt me because I know you.

I love you. I know who you are. You are a good and decent man. Look at me. You need to forgive yourself. I don’t know if I can do that.

Well. How’d it go? Tate is obviously still hung up on Holly in spite of it all. I think he heard me, or at least he pretended to hear me. Oh, don’t you two look spiffy. Well, as do you both. Are you ready for the big event? Ah, the christening, definitely. The reception at the Damaris. Not so much. Okay, but we have decided that we are going to keep an open mind.

We’re gonna try. We’re all gonna try. Who knows, maybe, maybe this is the dawn of a new era of peace and harmony. All thanks to that beautiful grandson of yours. Bless his heart. And what do they say? Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

Tell me you are not being serious. Oh, when it comes to giving gifts, I am never not serious. Probably in defiance of the bad gift givers in my life, like my very stingy mother, who on my last birthday gave me a partially used soap on a rope. The birthday before that, a mood ring toilet seat. I mean about the christening.

You are not actually going. Why wouldn’t I? I’m an invited guest. And to state the ombudist, there would be no event to go to had you and I not made sure that that precious little boy, soon to be christened, didn’t end up in the loving arms of Eric and Sloan, and not in the arms of his real mother, Nicole Walker Demura, who’s hosting the party, and ain’t that ironic?

All caps. Fine. I get it. You and I are connected in that way, but that doesn’t mean that we can Partners in baby stealing. Yeah. Not very proud of that. In fact, if I had to do it over again Well, you don’t have it to do over again. So let’s not talk about it right now, okay? Or ever, for that matter. Today is about the future.

A future that requires you keeping your mouth shut. That is, if you want to continue living the lifestyle you’ve grown so accustomed to. The outside of prison lifestyle. Got it?

Look at you, all dressed up in daddy’s fancy christening gown.

Oh, I’m glad it fits him. Perfectly. You all packed up? Yeah, I, I think I checked the bag like six hundred times. You ready to go? I am. Eric, I am so sorry about being such a downer about Nicole hosting the christening party. It’s okay. You were just being honest. I was, but I’m gonna take the high road, okay? I mean, it’s very kind of Nicole and EJ to host the reception, and I’m sure it’ll be a beautiful celebration for our amazing baby boy.

I’m sure it will be.

Holly, honey, of course you’re going to the christening. We’re all going to the christening as a family. Holly, what’s really going on? Nothing. Just, I don’t have the energy and the thought of being around so many people just makes my head want to explode, so. This is about self care, okay? Wait, are you, are you warm?

No, I don’t have a fever. Should I call Sarah just in case? Mom, stop, that’s enough, okay? Look, I know you’re worried about me, but I’m fine, seriously. So, you guys go to the christening without me. I don’t want to hold you up just because I couldn’t pull it together. Well, if you’re not going, I’m not going.

Bloody hell, if you’re not going, neither am I. Oh, we could all stay home.

Hmm. Tacky, tacky, Melinda, bringing up my little arrangement with Sloan, which for the record is no more odious than your arrangement with her. Well, odious arrangements aside, I comfort myself in knowing that Jude is with amazing parents. They’re gonna raise him to be the best version of himself. I’m not so sure about that.

Yes, Eric has fatherhood down to his science, but mommy Sloane, there is not a maternal bone in that woman’s body. I disagree. I think that Sloan is taking to motherhood quite nicely. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I would like to check in on my godchild. Yeah, go for it. Come on.

Guess I’ll go check in on the big man.

Look, I just wanted to tell you that I think Eric made a very wise choice when he asked you to be, to be Jude’s godfather. Alright? I know you’ll take the role to heart, and I know you’ll give that little guy all the support he needs. I was honored to be asked. Well, I was glad you accepted. Eric did mention that you were, uh, reluctant.

Thank you. At first, I was, I haven’t been very confident in my parenting skills these days. Yeah, he mentioned that too. So Brady, listen to me. All right, as hard as it is and believe me, I’ve been there. All right. You can’t blame yourself for things that are not within your control. And all we can do is love our kids unconditionally and be there for them.

Yeah. Lots

of catch up on, don’t we? Yeah. Yeah, we do. Do you know what it was like for me to watch the Super Bowl alone this year? Picked you, dad, in a room full of chicken wings and pizza and a giant 4K television and no one to It was awful. Yeah, well, I had no one’s ass to kick in fantasy basketball this year, so Okay, stop it.

And um, Mom, thank you for opening up to me. Really, for having the courage to tell me the truth about you and dad. I’m so glad I did. Just seeing you both laughing together, it just, you have no idea how happy it makes me. That’s all we can do? Yeah. And speaking of being here, I spoke to Kim the other day.

She is very grateful for what you’ve done for Teresa. Well, I was just glad that I was able to be there. Especially since I’ve been there, Roman, so Theresa and I aren’t together anymore, but she’s always going to be family. Isn’t that right, dear? That’s why you’re also a great dad, too. Alright. And that’s why you’re going to be a world class godfather.

Serious. I’m very proud. The man you’ve become, Brady. I am very, very proud of that. This is crazy.

You guys can’t miss the christening. Well, I’m not going to leave you home alone. Nor am I. And it’s not like anyone’s going to miss us. Mom, that’s ridiculous. Eric would be so crushed if you two weren’t there. The same would be said about you. Honey, Is this because Teresa and Brady are going to be there and it’ll be uncomfortable because of the situation with Tate?

It’s all of it. Okay? It’s a whole vibe. Alright, well, I promise you, Teresa and Brady will be on their best behavior. And like EJ said, you will be missed. If you’re not there, Eric loves you. And he would be sad if EJ and I weren’t there. So we are not letting you stay home alone. Like I said. Okay, fine. I get that today is important.

And you and EJ 100 percent need to be there celebrating, too. Which means I have to go. Since you won’t leave me home alone. So let me get ready. I changed my mind. Yay, Holly, I’m so relieved. And you know what, I bet it’s gonna be a beautiful christening. And it might even cheer you up, brighten your day.

Yeah. Seriously doubt that. Bye. Uh, but you guys should go without me. I don’t want to make you late. I’ll meet you there. Okay, well make sure you’re not too late, okay? Okay, I’ll try.

Teenagers, huh? Oh, they sure earn their reputation. Yeah, yeah, we understand. Yeah, we will. Love

you too. Bye.

And Kayla. She won’t be able to make it. Unfortunately, the hospital is understaffed. Oh, no, that’s too bad.

Godmother has arrived. Melinda, please come in. Hope I’m not too early. No. Uh, before the day gets too crazy, I just wanted to make sure I gave this to you. Just a little something for Jude’s savings account. Melinda, you didn’t have to do that. Well, I know I didn’t have to. I wanted to. I know. And there he is.

Hello there, beautiful. What a sweet little angel you are. Hey, Melinda. Hmm? Um, there’s something I need to talk to you about. Oh. Yeah. It’s godmother stuff. Oh, okay. Um, at the start of service, godmother, you will have to carry Jew to the front of the chapel. Will that be okay with you? I would absolutely be honored.

Hello. Are you here for a confession? How much time do you have? No, nothing to confess. Though this seems like a wonderful place to do it if I was in the market. Well, you’re always welcome. That’s good to know. I’m actually here for a christening for Jude Brady. Ah, yes. Yes. I’ve known that little tyke, your blessing, his whole life.

Isn’t that wonderful? And everyone who’s here will in some way bear responsibility to the child throughout his life. Really? Everyone here? It takes a village, as they say, to not only encourage spiritual growth in our children, but to be examples of good, kind, honest people. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to finish setting up.

Well, I’m good and kind. Sort of. Sometimes. A little. Honest, not so much.

For one day, can you just put aside your guilt and try to focus on the joy of this new life that we’re celebrating? All right? Can you just do it for me?

I will do that for you.

Thank you.

Why are you trying to punish yourself for something you might not even have done? Because I’ve always been afraid that I was capable of a heinous act like this. In fact, I think a part of me always knew I had. I can’t do it anymore, Doc. I can’t, I can’t, I can’t wake up in the morning, I can’t eat my oatmeal and kiss my wife goodbye and go off to the office knowing who I am and what I’ve done.

John, I don’t think you’re thinking rationally right now. No. Okay. Put yourself in my shoes. Come on, Doc. How do you move forward without dealing with the past and taking responsibility for it? I know how you’re feeling. I did. Unconscionable things at a time when I wasn’t It wasn’t you! And this wasn’t you!

It’s not the same! Well, should we head to the chapel? I think it’s about that time. Uh, give me a second. Adlai, what’s up? What? Are you okay? Are you sure? Did you get checked out? Okay, now don’t worry about that. We got that covered. Okay, don’t worry. Go home. Take care of yourself. Call me if you need anything All right Take care One of my employees he was taking the food over to the mirrors and There was car wreck fortunately, nobody got hurt but Car is, uh, undrivable.

That’s not a problem. I can take the food. I can have the dimericum. Not your problem, Katie. That’s nonsense. You’re the godfather. You’re the grandfather. You can’t be late. I’ve got this. Go. Both of you. Now. I’ve got it. Hi. It’s pretty straightforward. The priest is gonna ask you a few questions. Simple stuff.

And you know what? You’re gonna crush it. Sounds great. Um, are we ready to roll? Uh, I gotta call Sammy back. She left me a message from earlier. Great. Tell her hi from me. Tell her I wish she could be here with us. I will. Okay.

Oh my god, how am I gonna get through this? You will get through it because you have to. And because you have everything you’ve ever wanted, remember? And by the way, what’s with Leo? Was he officially invited? Couldn’t be avoided. Same thing with allowing Nicole to host the after party. But Sloane, this is your baby and your event.

Look, I understand that, that Nicole has no idea when it comes to Jude, but her and Leo in the same space for any length of time is just so risky. I know. I know. It’s a good thing I ran into him today. Leo? Yeah, I reminded him that he should keep his mouth shut if he knows what’s good for him. Well, damn well better.

Something about this place always seems to calm me down. Yeah, me too.

Is that?

That’s Leo Stark. I hope he’s not here to write some gossip. Most likely. Hello. Stunning Dr. Evans. Handsome John Black. How are you both doing today? Well, we’re just fine. And yourself? Oh, I’m feeling reflective. Spiritual. Peaceful. And also a bit God fearing, which is interfering with the other feelings. I could understand how that would happen.

But I must say, I am blown away by Eric and Sloane and their generosity inviting me to this blessed event. I’ve never been much of a churchgoer, except for when I was young and my mother forced me to go by threatening to remove my kneecaps with an ice cream scoop. Leo. But, I am certain that today is going to be enlightening, uplifting for all of us.

That Leo Stark is quite a character, isn’t he? One way to think of him. Yeah. You’re concerned about having a reporter here, though. You know, he babysat for Jude at one point. And Sloane and Eric both said he was just great. Oh! Hey! Oh, hey! And Godfather. Theresa. Hey, hey. Hi there. There he is. Are you ready for this?

Yeah, big day. And where’s Kate? Well, we had a delivery snafu at the pub, and uh, Kate kindly offered to take care of that. In fact, I gotta give her a call check in with her, so if you’ll excuse me. Right, yes, yes. Doc and I, we have made plans to go see Tate. Oh, you will appreciate that. How are the two of you holding up?

How are we holding up? We’re doing okay. We’re hitting a lot of meetings and we’re putting sobriety first. Well, we’re really just trying to stay present for Tate. Oh, that’s good to hear. Actually, speaking of visiting Tate, I’m going to go see him right after the christening. Oh, what about the demerit house gathering?

Uh, I send my regrets. I think it’s best to just steer clear of E Gen.

Don’t think that’s gonna be too easy to do. You’re looking

Lovely, Nicole. Thank you, Roman. Um, where are Eric and Sloan? I don’t know. I haven’t seen them. I’m sure they’ll be here any minute.

No interest in going to that house afterwards for the big party. Honestly, just thinking about it makes the hairs on the back of my neck just stand up. You know what? You’re a better person than I am, Brady. I’m just doing it for Eric and Jude. I’m gonna suck it up and do what’s right.

I just want to say thank you to everyone for being here on this special day. Jude, he’s really lucky to have everyone in his life. We’re all lucky. Here, here. That was very eloquent, Eric. Mercifully brief, light on the schmaltz, always preferable in my book. Thank you, Leo. And I promise that whatever happens here today will be off the record.

That precious little angel, he looks exquisite in his christening outfit. That was the same one that Eric wore when he was christened. I bet he wore it well. Um, final diaper check before the big event. How

are you doing? Well, initially I was doing okay, but I don’t know, being here in the house of the Lord and seeing a little baby, I’m having a hard time. I will be with you every step of the way. Catch you. I’m gonna go see the phone. Your father, Annie Sloan, she’s getting Jude ready for his christening. And I’m pretty sure no one else is here.

We can just wait a minute. There she is. Hi. Hi. Oh, I’m so happy you could make it. Wouldn’t have missed it. If everyone can start to take their places. Hey. Hi, Holly. How’s Tate? Oh, he’s doing really well. You know, minus the ankle monitor and the restraining order. Yeah, thanks for that, by the way. Much appreciated.

What? I’m not allowed to talk to her?

Welcome friends and family. What a glorious day to be together to celebrate this beautiful life before us. A joyous moment and a testament to the blessed gift from God to you both.

Eric and Sloan, is it your will that Jude should be baptized in the faith of the church which we have all professed with you? It is. I baptize you in the name of the father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit. God, the father, our Lord Jesus Christ has freed you from sin, given you a new birth by water and the Holy Spirit, and he welcomes you into his holy people.

He now anoints you with the chrism of salvation as Christ was anointed priest prophet and King. So may you live always as a member of his body sharing of a lasting life. Amen. Amen. Ah! It’s a good thing Detective Hunter’s cars are rolling forward. Oh, God. Oh, God. Just breathe. Just breathe. That’s what they say in the movies, right?

Deep breath in. Deep breath out. Oh, if you say deep one more time, I’m going to pull your vocal cords out. Careful. I think she means it. Ah! Ah! Where’s the baby’s father? EJ needs to be here. He’s going to be a no show, unfortunately. Oh god, it’s close. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It’s very close. Not that much is obvious.

And panic attack and goose bump inducing. Oh, someone needs to catch this baby. Please. Hey, I am holding her hand and hyperventilating. You’re not doing anything. Me? You’re the one who insisted on being here in the first place. Guys! Okay, okay, okay. Oh my god, oh my god. An actual human being is about to emerge from there.

I need I’m not gonna I’m not going to faint. I’m going to be calm. I’m going to be cool. No! Please, I need to push! I’m going to pretend that I am Dr. Leo Stark, who has delivered millions of babies so brilliantly that when they pop out, they don’t even cry. They just smile and wave. Now, come on! Pepper him right in here!

The baby is coming! Okay, Nicole, look at me, look at me, look at me. You got this. We have got this. I need you to take one last deep breath. Okay. And then push a little tissue. It’s a

boy. He’s so adorable. That teeny little nose. All those little fingers. He’s my precious baby. It’s a little miracle. Jude, you have become

a new creation and have clothed yourself in Christ. See this white garment as the outward sign of your Christian dignity unstained into everlasting life of heaven. Amen. Sorry. So sorry, and sorry to you as well. Oh Lord. Oh Lord. I have something to say. Something very important. Something that can’t wait.

Transcript provided by Suzanne

Tucker: Has it ever occurred to you I might move glissade here?

Claire: I’m not so sure my side of the story is gonna improve your view of me. The facts are kind of hard to ignore.

Kyle: Who says my view of you needs to be improved?

Claire: When I met you and summer and harrison, we seemed to hit it off.

Kyle: Hm. You charmed my son. That always makes a good impression.

Claire: Hm. But now you know there’s more to me than just marshmallows and bad kid jokes.

Kyle: Yeah, and I’d like to hear about it. About you.

Claire: How did a nice girl like me end up trying to poison her long-lost family?

Kyle: There’s gotta be a story there.

Claire: There is. Okay, fine. But you asked for it. It started from birth. Up until a few months ago, my whole life, who I was, where I came from, it was all controlled by my deranged aunt.

Victor: I don’t want to hear any more excuses! You find that woman!

Nick: Do not tell me.

Victor: Jordan escaped from the hospital.

Nick: How in the hell does this keep happening? I am sick of the incompetence. You had a police detail stationed outside her room with your security detail backing them up.

Victor: She burned down a damn prison. What are they not getting?

Nick: I mean, your plan worked, dad. You had her trapped in the basement.

Victor: Where she could rot. I should never have let your mother, victoria, and claire, go to see her.

Nikki: Please stop. I feel terrible enough as it is.

Nick: You heard?

Nikki: Yeah. Jordan is free to hunt us again and it’s all my fault. Nothing comes close to this place in the morning.

Announcer: Additional sponsorship provided by…

Nick: Don’t blame yourself, mom. Nothing could’ve prepared any of us for jordan escaping again.

Nikki: Your father disagrees. I know you were very angry with me for calling 911, for letting her live, and you’re right.

Victor: How’d you find this out before I did?

Nikki: Your security team called me at the ranch.

Victor: I should’ve been their first call.

Nikki: Well, they tried you and they couldn’t reach you, but I’m glad that they alerted me so I could be prepared.

Victor: With all the security at the ranch, you came here?

Nikki: I– I– I was a nervous wreck. Every little sound made me jump out of my skin. I– I had to get out of there and be with people.

Victor: Was larry with you?

Nikki: No.

Victor: And yet you came here. Did you stop anywhere?

Nikki: Do you mean did I stop for a drink?

Nick: No, I’m sure that is not what he meant. All right, no one is accusing you of anything, mom.

Nikki: Well, maybe you should. Because with jordan out there again, I hate to say it, but I am desperate for a drink.

Kyle: Growing up with someone like that, did you always know your aunt was troubled?

Claire: Troubled is putting it mildly, but no, I didn’T. It’s kind of hard to explain. She raised me from birth because she kidnapped me, but I didn’t know that. I only knew her as the person who fed me and clothed me, kept me safe, so I trusted her completely.

Kyle: And you never suspected a thing.

Claire: Why would I? I was a kid. She told me my parents didn’t want me, that the newmans were happy to pretend I never existed. I believed her. She claimed to love me. It never occurred to me that someone could tell you that they love you and then… willingly break your heart.

Kyle: I mean, being led to believe something like that. To let a child go through that much pain, I mean, it’s hard to understand.

Claire: There’s no explaining it, other than as the act of a vicious, vindictive person. She hated victor, she hated nikki, she hated the whole family by default, and she made sure that I did, too. It was my sole purpose in life. To get payback.

Kyle: For something that never happened.

Claire: She made me her teammate, pulled me into her lies, made me an accomplice to her crimes. I almost killed my entire family.

Kyle: But you didn’T.

Claire: I still hate myself anyway. For the trauma that I put them through. Especially nikki.

Kyle: It sounds like they know you’re not to blame for your actions. Your aunt is.

Claire: How incredible are they? To find it in their hearts not only to forgive me, but to welcome me. I owe it to them to live up to that. Work hard in therapy. Because of them, I have a second chance. I get to build a real life for myself.

Kyle: You’re right. That is quite a story.

Claire: Too far-fetched for you to believe? I bet you still think I’m a crazy criminal.

Victoria: Sorry, so sorry that took so long. It was the kid’s school, some snafu with payment. It’s all good now.

Kyle: Yeah, no problem. Gave me a chance to get to know claire a little better.

Victoria: Oh, that’s wonderful.

Claire: Is it?

Jack: I assume the part about you moving your company here was your idea of a joke.

Tucker: What, this town not big enough for the two of us?

Jack: Glissade is no competition for jabot.

Tucker: I love a challenge.

Jack: You know what, on second thought, go ahead, throw more of your money away. I would love a ringside seat to watch your further self-destruction. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna–

Tucker: No, wait a minute, hold on. This is not what I wanted to talk to you about.

Jack: What then?

Tucker: Ashley. I saw her earlier.

Jack: I told you to stay away from my sister, and I meant it.

Tucker: She sought me out.

Jack: Don’t see her human kindness as a sign of hope for the two of you.

Tucker: Yeah. That’s the thing. Because recently, I don’t see a lot of sincerity in her behavior.

Jack: She was kind enough and humble enough to admit that she misread the tenor of your–

Tucker: Kindness is not the motivating factor here, jack.

Jack: So what, you think she still has a thing for you? Think again. What happened in paris was still a fight, and it caused the end of your sham of a marriage. There will be no third act for the two of you.

Tucker: I couldn’t agree more. We are finished. But I’m really worried about her.

Jack: Take her out of your thoughts.

Tucker: She’s falling apart, jack.

Marshalls buyers hustle

for the latest trends,

Jack: How dare you pass judgment on ashley’s emotional state?

Tucker: She’s not herself.

Jack: Why, because she wants nothing to do with you?

Tucker: If it were that, I’d get it. But it all started with her misremembering the events in paris.

Jack: Which she has successfully put behind her.

Tucker: Maybe. But lately… I don’t know what to make of her. There’s something in her, um… there’s something behind her eyes. Unfamiliar to me. Something I don’t recognize. She– she’s one way, and then suddenly, she’ll be another. She’ll– she’ll text me one second that she wants nothing to do with me, and then an hour later, she’ll tell me she wants us to get back together again. And that’s got me worried. Doesn’t that worry you?

Jack: It would if I thought it was true.

Tucker: Oh, my god. How could you not have noticed this? Are you really that oblivious to what’s going on with your sister? Who— who you–

Jack: Whoa, whoa, whoa. Now you’re gonna play your mind games on me?

Tucker: I’m not playing games here. Ashley needs help, now. And I told her as much–

Jack: You don’t get to tell her anything. You lost that right. Ashley got clarity in paris. No, maybe she didn’t remember things exactly as they happened, but the emotional truth of it was there. She wants nothing to do with you. She is done. She made that abundantly clear to me just this morning.

Tucker: Is that right? Just curious, was that before or after she told me she wants us to partner again?

Jack: At glissade.

Tucker: No.

Jack: Is your ego really so big–

Tucker: Jack, listen to me! She said she wants us to partner again in all things. All things. Now what do you make of that?

Jack: Honestly, I have been concerned that her big heart would lead her to forgive you. She’d be sucked right back in, but she’s made it abundantly clear that is never gonna happen. That she is a strong, independent woman who does not need her big brother meddling.

Tucker: And I’m telling you, in this case, I think she does.

Jack: You’ll say anything to get a rise. This is–

Tucker: She needs help, jack. And I hope you can step in because I can’T.

Jack: Good.

[ Phone chiming ] You leave ashley to us. Stop thinking about her. Stop talking about her. Stay away from her.

Victoria: No, it’s just nice to see you having a, you know, a normal conversation with somebody closer to your own age. She’s been spending a lot of time with her parents and her grandparents, so it’s nice that you’re widening your circle, maybe making some friends outside of the family. Maybe you can help with that.

Cole: Victoria, glad I found you. Listen, have you talked to your father?

Victoria: No. No, why?

Cole: Well, he’s been trying to reach you, and so have I.

Victoria: Oh, I’m sorry. I was on a call, and your message went to voicemail.

Cole: Thanks, kyle.

Victoria: What? What happened? What’s going on?

Claire: Jordan escaped again, didn’t she?

Victor: All the hell that woman has put us through, I hate the most that she inflicted on you the desire to drink again. Any way we can help?

Nick: Let’s do something to distract you, mom. You want to go grab a coffee or something?

Nikki: Thank you both, but the last thing I want is to add to your worry. I shouldn’t have said anything.

Nick: You lying about the urge to drink isn’t gonna help you.

Victor: We know what that leads to.

Nikki: The best thing you can do is to make sure that jordan is caught as soon as possible, and until then, I will– I will just find ways to cope.

Nick: You have any idea how you’re gonna do that?

Nikki: Well, I saw jack earlier, and that was helpful, but that was before this news. I’ve texted him to see if he can meet me at an aa meeting, ’cause I’m going to one now. I’m going straight there.

Nick: Well, dad has put out the order to the security team and gcpd to find jordan, and they will.

Victor: If that woman has any sense left at all, she’ll stay as far away from our family and genoa city as possible.

Nick: If she’s stupid enough to come after this family again, this time we’re gonna have to do something to stop her for good.

Victor: I’m texting larry right now. He will escort you, okay?

Nikki: I just can’t stop thinking that if it weren’t for me, jordan would have died in that room.

Nick: Mom, don’t do that. You can’t feel guilty about being better than jordan. You have a moral center. You couldn’t just sit there and watch her die. You have what she doesn’T. Humanity.

Nikki: I wish I believed that.

Nick: Jordan’s taken enough from this family. She’s not gonna take that away too. No matter what. If your moderate to severe crohn’s disease

[ Knock on door ]

Nick: Come in.

Sally: Hey.

Nick: Hey. Um, if you’re looking for adam, he’s not here.

Sally: Uh, no, I was actually looking for you and victor.

Nick: Right. Um, if this is about, uh, you know, adam’s plan to get newman to take on your design firm, sally, it’s not a great time to try and get my dad’s attention.

Sally: No, I’m aware that your family has a lot going on. And I’m glad that victor’s doing okay, ’cause I know he was missing for a bit.

Nick: We’re dealing with it. If it’s not about the company, what’s up?

Sally: I– so, adam is flying out tonight with chelsea and connor and he’s scrambling to get things lined up beforehand. I’m not sure how up-to-speed you are on connor’s situation.

Nick: Uh, yeah, adam, uh, filled me in on the ocd. Um, I haven’t talked to him in a couple days, but I heard there was a new development.

Sally: Adam and chelsea agreed to send connor to a treatment facility on the east coast. They had to move quickly to secure a spot.

Nick: Residential. It’s a big decision.

Sally: It’s tearing adam apart.

Nick: I bet.

Sally: And connor’s not thrilled about the idea, either.

Nick: Poor kid.

Sally: Well, adam’s sole focus is connor, so I told him that I would let you and victor know, just, you know, one last thing on his plate.

Nick: Adam’s lucky to have you. Your support.

Sally: Well, I’m also here on my own mission to please ask you both to support adam. He’s really struggling with this.

Nick: Uh, yeah, it’s, uh, not a problem. I really feel for what adam’s going through. I told him I was here if he needed anything. I’ll reach out and remind him. I think he and chelsea should take the newman jet. I’ll talk to my dad and make sure it’s cool.

Sally: Thank you. Are you two really getting along better? I know adam said things were going well at the office, but I just have to imagine that there’s still some tension.

Nick: Because of you.

Sally: Well, I mean, I don’t think I get all the credit. There is a long history there.

Nick: He’s not lying. We’re, uh, we’re good.

Sally: I’m glad. It’s nice to see. Well, I should probably go find victor.

Nick: There is, uh, something I disagree with adam on, and, um, I could use your help.

Sally: What’s that?

Nick: I don’t think my dad should hear about connor from you. You know, what connor’s going through is extremely serious, and that’s my dad’s grandson. If he hears about it third-hand…

Sally: Yeah, no, I– I get it. Okay, so what do you suggest I do? Because I promised adam I would take this off his plate.

Nick: Just trust me. Don’t say anything. Let me handle it.

Nikki: So, after the nightmare that you’ve all heard about, the woman responsible was finally arrested. Getting justice has been all I’ve been able to think about. It has consumed my every thought. This woman burned down my daughter’s house. She stole an innocent child. She has infiltrated every part of my life. Even here. Our dear seth. So, when she was finally found, I was so relieved. I– I felt like I could breathe again, you know? And that she would finally have to pay for her despicable crimes. But then… I got a call that it’s not over. That psychopath has escaped from the hospital she was sent to, and she’s out there somewhere. God knows where. So now, my hope that life can go back to normal is gone. And I’m hanging by a thread yet again. Do I want a drink? Oh, yes. Hell, I want the whole bottle. I wanna drink myself into oblivion so that I don’t have to feel this– this primal rage. Yeah, that’s not strong enough of a term. It– it’s like, I’m at the top of a tree and I’m looking at a tsunami that is coming straight for me, and I know that it’s gonna take me out, and all that I have is this tiny little branch to cling to. And that is you. This program, being honest with all of you here, is my only hope of not stopping at a liquor store on the way home. I just don’t understand why she is still allowed to wreak such havoc. I mean, why can nobody stop her? It’s not fair. I mean, she is my worst nightmare that I cannot wake up from, and it’s all my– never mind. Everybody– everybody in my life keeps praising me for my strength, my moral fiber, and it’s just not true. I hate that woman with everything in me, and I prayed that she would rot in jail and spend the rest of her life suffering for what she’s done. But I prayed for the wrong thing. I wish she was dead. Looking for a smarter way to mop?

Announcer: The young and the restless will continue…

Nikki: Thank you for escorting me back, although it wasn’t really necessary. Victor put larry back on my security details, so…

Jack: I’m not here for your safety. I think you know that. You’ve been awfully quiet. I thought maybe you’d want to talk some more once we got here.

Nikki: What more is there to say after that meeting?

Jack: I don’t know. You tell me. It seems that was just the tip of the iceberg.

[ Nikki sighs ]

Nikki: It’s just all too much.

Jack: Well, I know it feels that way. You can do this. You are doing this. And look, I am sorry that my cheerleading of your moral superiority put undue pressure on you. I never intended that.

Nikki: Oh, jack, no. It– it’s not just you. Nicholas says the same thing. It just feels like such a lie when the only reason I called 9-1-1 was to prolong jordan’s suffering. There was no moral code at work. And rage is one thing, but the guilt is quite another.

Jack: Sometimes, sharing brings out unexpected feelings. But they’re out there, and it’s so much better than letting them fester, even if it doesn’t feel better in the moment.

Victor: Well, you’re back.

Nikki: Hi.

Victor: I guess you made it to the meeting.

Jack: Yes, I did.

Victor: Thank you for that. I’ll take it from here, jack.

Jack: If you want to talk any further.

Nikki: Thank you for being here for me.

Victor: She looks worse than she did before.

Jack: The meeting took a lot out of her, but I– I think it did her good.

Victor: Certainly doesn’t seem like that.

Jack: Progress doesn’t happen quickly, victor.

Victor: Be honest with me. Are these meetings too hard for you?

Nikki: Uh…

Victor: Hm?

Nikki: No, I– I do feel better.

Victor: Well, darling, I know you. I know you’re trying to cover up. All this has shaken you up. You don’t have to do that for my benefit.

Nikki: I’m just so scared. I mean, fighting the urge to drink, it’s so much harder than I thought. It is a war, a constant war, and I worry that it’s gonna get worse.

[ Victor sighs ]

Victor: I promise you, we’ll get over it. We’ll fight this. Meanwhile, I have a plan. It’ll work on two fronts.

Victoria: Does my mother know about this?

Cole: Uh, I’m not sure. Victor reached out to me when he couldn’t find you, and I told him I would track you down, let you both know. So, I just assume that nikki’s been informed.

Victoria: We can’t be sure about that. My father didn’t tell her about the fire at the prison because he knew it would upset her too much, and this is much worse than that. This is gonna rock her to the core.

Cole: Well, that’s true, and he’s also gonna have to protect her and not have her out there thinking that she’s safe.

Claire: I can’t believe this is happening again.

Victoria: Did we make a huge mistake confronting jordan? Did we cause this?

Nick: Hey. I’ve been looking for you. Did you get any of my texts?

Adam: I’m sorry, man. I’m– I’m under the gun. Chelsea and connor are upstairs, and I’m still trying to get us on a flight.

Nick: Yeah, sally told me what’s going on. Um, it sounds like the clinic you found is promising, and the fact that you got a spot there is great.

Adam: Yeah, well, none of it feels great.

Nick: Adam, take the jet. I’ve already set it up. The crew’s ready. You can leave whenever you want.

Adam: Oh, thank you, okay? That is helpful. That is very helpful.

Nick: I wish there was something else I could do. You hanging in there?

Adam: You know, all of this, it just happened so fast. Other than that, I’m just pushing through.

Nick: Yeah, no parent should ever have to face a diagnosis like this, and no kid should ever have to live through it. How’s connor doing?

Adam: He’s terrified. He’s mad at us. But he agreed to give it a shot.

Nick: Is there anything else you or chelsea need?

Adam: No, I think now that we have a way to get there, we’ve got everything else covered. You know, chelsea handled all the arrangements with the facility. She insisted on it. I think she just wants to keep herself busy so she doesn’t fall apart.

Nick: Yeah, that’s understandable.

Adam: Yeah. Well, it’s been rough on both of us, feeling like we missed something, wondering how we came to this point. But I worry that she’s being even harder on herself.

Nick: Given her own struggles.

Adam: Yeah. To be honest, I worry that she could spin out.

New herbal essences

sulfate free.

Nick: Adam, don’t go there. Chelsea’s gonna need all your support without the added pressure of you worrying about her frame of mind. All right? How about billy?

Adam: What about him?

Nick: Well, I’m sure he’s stepping up for chelsea.

Adam: Yeah, he’s always in the background giving his two cents to her and to connor.

Nick: Adam, you’re the father. There’s no competition there. If billy is willing to offer his support to chelsea and connor, then you take it. If your kid’s in trouble and needs help, it’s all hands on deck.

Adam: I know, I know, I know. You’re right.

Nick: Good. I hope you know I’m in your corner, too. All right? For whatever you need, you just have to ask.

Adam: Well, I’m glad that you caught me. I didn’t realize I could use the pep talk.

Nick: Something else I want to talk to you about. Sally told me that you asked her to fill dad in on all of this. I told her not to.

Adam: Don’t you think he would want to know?

Nick: Of course, he’s gonna want to know. But it shouldn’t come from sally. It shouldn’t even come from me. You need to talk to him, adam. And you need to do it before you leave.

Kyle: Hey, dad, glad you’re home. I don’t know if mom said anything to you about it, but she and I had a difference of opinion on how I handled some tweaks to our proposal.

Jack: You can stop right there. I know all about this. Your mother and I discussed it, along with the fact that she doesn’t consider your changes tweaks.

Kyle: Did you read the first draft?

Jack: I did.

Kyle: And do you really think I overstepped?

Jack: I’m not gonna get in the middle of this. I told your mother as much. You two are gonna have to work this out.

Kyle: That’s fair. We don’t need you running interference on some edits to a presentation. But, dad, I really think there’s a bigger issue at play here. Do you know why mom had such a problem with it?

Jack: Do you?

Kyle: She thinks I resent her getting the co-ceo position, and she’s looking for any evidence to prove that.

Jack: And is there any truth to her suspicions?

Kyle: Yes.

Nikki: All right, I’m listening. What’s your plan?

Victor: Have you forgotten about our special day coming up?

Nikki: What, the anniversary of our first wedding?

Victor: Yes.

Nikki: Of course not. Even with everything that’s been going on, I– I haven’t forgotten. I– I never would.

Victor: Okay.

Nikki: But given the circumstances, I think we should have a quiet celebration.

Victor: No, no, no, no. I want a big party. I want to celebrate our love. But before we have the party, I have another idea. Let’s you and I go on a trip. Just the two of us.

Nikki: Well, that sounds lovely, but…

Victor: No buts. I want you to get away from the jordan woman and get out of genoa city. Away from all the triggers that will lead you to the bottle.

Nikki: You said it would help on two fronts. What’s the other one?

Victor: Well, think about it. I mean, if you and I are gone, then jordan has no targets. She’ll get out of town.

Nikki: You don’t know how much I want to believe that.

Victor: Then do, baby, do.

Nikki: All right, yes.

Victor: Come here.

Nikki: Yes, victor, please.

Victor: Come here.

Nikki: Take me away from all this.

Victor: Anywhere your heart desires, okay? Sometimes, the lows of bipolar depression

Adam: Look, I don’t have time to talk to dad right now.

Nick: Make time. The jet’s ready for you. You don’t have to worry about that. Dad’s gonna be very upset when he finds out what you’ve been going through without looping him in.

Adam: Okay, well, it’s only because he has enough on his plate right now with nikki and claire, not to mention jordan.

Nick: This is dad we’re talking about. Family is always his number one priority.

Adam: Yeah, I guess.

Nick: You’re his son. Connor’s his grandson. He loves you both very much. All right, he wants to be a part of everything, whether it’s good or bad. Just talk to him. At least just to fill him in on what the game plan is.

Adam: You’re right. Okay, I guess I just haven’t had a chance to think straight.

Nick: That’s what I’m here for.

Adam: Look, nick. Thank you, okay? It means a lot. You showing up for me.

Nick: Safe travels. Good luck.

[ Adam sighs ]

Kyle: It does annoy me to see mistakes mom’s making, even small ones. I mean, the presentation I fixed, it was clearly rushed.

Jack: Last I checked, proofreading wasn’t one of the job duties under coo.

Kyle: Okay, I guess I am looking for signs, too, that she’s not up to the job, and maybe I am too quick to point out her mistakes.

Jack: Well, I’m impressed that you recognize that and admit it.

Kyle: Hm. I’m working on the whole maturity thing.

Jack: So, do you think you and your mother can find some way to break this unhelpful cycle?

Kyle: You’re right. This is my issue to work through. I’m sure I’ll figure it out.

Victoria: Mom, how are you?

Nikki: I take it you’ve heard the news?

Victoria: Yeah, I don’t believe it.

Claire: We should have known.

Cole: Well, the question is, how do we deal with jordan being on the loose?

Victor: Well, I know that the gcpd is doing everything they can to locate jordan and put that woman back behind bars.

Nikki: In the meantime, your father and I have decided to take a trip to get away and to celebrate our anniversary.

Victor: And a big party. Celebrating the special milestone.

Victoria: Well, of course, you deserve to celebrate, but do you think that’s wise right now?

Victor: Sweetheart, I’m gonna make sure that security is really beefed up around here.

Victoria: But how much security? Jordan could shift her focus to claire while you’re gone.

Claire: Doesn’t matter if it does. We’ll handle it. My grandparents deserve a vacation more than anyone.

Victoria: Okay, I agree. I do. But I’m concerned about your safety.

Claire: Don’T. Jordan can’t get to me anymore. Because I no longer fear her.

Announcer: Next week on the young and the restless…

Cole: You know how you’re always asking questions about your mother and me and the life you missed? Instead of telling you stories, we could show you.

Claire: Show me what?

Victoria: Where it all began for us.

Nikki: What’s this?

Waiter: Courtesy of a gentleman from the bar, mrs. Newman.

Nikki: There’s no one there.

Waiter: He must have just left.

Nikki: What’s in this drink?

Waiter: Triple premium distilled vodka.

Nikki: Take it away. Please, take it away.

Traci: You all right? Where’ve you been?

Ashley: I don’t know. I came here to find love.

Adam: How’s the hot chocolate?

Connor: Good. Great. They do it the best here. It was pretty bad at school.

Chelsea: Connor, your dad and I have done a lot of research on the treatment center that dr. Alcott recommends. We know you want to stay home. But the center will be able to help you more than your dad or I or even the doctors here can. So we’ve decided that it’s best if you stay there for a little while, short term.

Adam: Listen, buddy, the place that we like the best is not a hospital for crazy people, so don’t think that. It’s– it’s for people that are up against the same thing as you, and they’re learning how to deal with it.

Chelsea: We would never send you any place that’s unsafe.

Adam: Mm-mm.

Chelsea: But these are adults that know what they’re doing, and they’re experts at ocd, and they’re gonna be able to help you.

Adam: Mm-hmm. It’s in maryland.

Chelsea: Yeah, it’s beautiful there, and it’s a lot warmer there than it is here right now, so you’ll get to spend a lot of time outside.

Adam: Yeah, and I’m betting you can get some soccer games going.

Chelsea: I think you’ll be surprised about how much it helps you.

Connor: Doesn’t matter, because I’m not going.

Kyle: Mom, you’re home early.

Diane: Yeah, I knew I’d find you here with a little workstation in the living room.

Kyle: Yeah, until we find a new nanny for harrison. I’m picking him up from school.

Diane: So where is my favorite boy right now?

Kyle: Grabbing a snack with mrs. Martinez. Gave me a chance to get a few things done.

Diane: Well, harrison’s lucky that he has such a caring father.

Kyle: Well, I’m the lucky one. That kid is something else. On the way back from school, he looked at me and asked if I could pick him up every day.

[ Diane chuckles ] And then when I explained to him that I was just filling in until we found a new nanny, he asked, and I quote, “why can’t you be my nanny?”

[ Diane laughs ]

Diane: And what did you say?

Kyle: Well, I said I wish I could, that I would love to be there for him every day when he got out of school. Then I explained to him that I have a full-time job, but all my other hours are for him. I think he gets it, but I also think it’s about him missing linda and not wanting a new nanny. Transitions are tough for kids, and that kid’s had his fill.

Diane: Yeah, he sure has.

Kyle: But we’ve got it covered. Me and the rest of harrison’s crew. And I’ve gotten pretty good at juggling my work schedule and taking care of my son, if I do say so myself.

Diane: Well, congratulations. Very impressive. And equally impressive that on top of all that, you found time to show up your mother at work. By doing her job, too.

Without security guards.

[ Both laugh ]

Victoria: That is novel. Yeah, I like that. We can go to society.

Claire: Mm!

Victoria: I’m all for that. Mom? What is it? What happened?

Nikki: What else? Jordan! I won’t let me moderate to severe plaque psoriasis

Announcer: Additional sponsorship provided by…

Claire: Oh, no. What has my aunt done now?

Victoria: Claire, don’t worry. Jordan is in police custody. There’s nothing she can do from there. Whatever it is, there’s nothing she can do to hurt us anymore. Right, mom?

Nikki: But she’s still creating drama. Now she’s had some kind of seizure.

Victoria: What?

Claire: Be– because of the toxin that she drank?

Nikki: Well, not that I care, but she’s in stable condition. And now this medical emergency is delaying her transfer to the maximum security prison. They have to keep her in the hospital for a little bit longer.

Victoria: Of course they do.

Claire: If there really was a seizure, this could be one of her stall tactics to delay the transfer. I’m sure she thoroughly researched that poison. She knows the dosage, the half-life, the possible side effects, the antidote, of course. She knew exactly what she was going to expect from that toxin when she took it.

Victoria: She never meant to kill herself in that basement, did she? She took that poison knowing that we would help her, and that she would be sent into the hospital instead of rotting away in that room or in some jail cell.

Nikki: She is using this medical delay to come up with her next move.

Kyle: Mom, what are you talking about? How have I been trying to do your job?

Diane: I just came from the office where I learned that you had rewritten some of the presentation for a project that I’m spearheading. Why would you do that without talking to me?

Kyle: Mom, I think you have it all wrong.

Diane: No, kyle. You’re the one who has it wrong. You can’t just override my work, make changes and then put your seal of approval on it like you’re the ceo here. That’s unacceptable. What were you thinking except to deliberately try and show me up?

Chelsea: Connor, your dad and I completely understand you wanting to stay home. But that’s not how this works. Not with something as important as this.

Adam: Yeah, how can you say that you’re not going to go when you don’t even know anything about this place yet?

Connor: I don’t need to know anything about it because I’m not going.

Chelsea: Okay, maybe we should have eased into this. Connor, your feelings are completely valid, but maybe we should all look over the website together as a family and you can ask us any questions you might have.

Adam: Mm-hmm.

Connor: Does it even matter what it’s like there? It’s just some place for you to send me so you can forget I exist.

Chelsea: What? Connor… no. How could you even say something like that?

Adam: Connor, look at me. You mean everything to me and more. Seriously, everything.

Chelsea: How could we forget the best thing that ever happened to us?

Adam: Hey, we love you. Don’t you know that?

Chelsea: Nothing is ever going to change that.

Connor: Even if I’m crazy, like the doctor said?

Adam: Okay.

Chelsea: No.

Adam: You are not crazy and the doctor never said that.

Connor: Maybe none of it’s even real anyway. Just a way to make us spend money on treatment I don’t need.

Chelsea: Sweetheart, ocd is very real. And the feelings you’ve been having, that you’ve been sharing with us, those are real, right? The scary thoughts?

Adam: The good numbers, the bad numbers, putting things in order. I mean, you do those things to keep the bad things away or for bad things from happening. Those feelings, they weren’t just made up, were they?

Connor: I don’t know anymore. I don’t know what to think about anything. Sometimes, I don’t know what’s really real or just made up in my head.

Adam: Look… I’m sorry, connor. Okay? This is hard and it’s scary. And your mom and I, we would do anything to make this better for you. Known as a passionate artist.

Adam: This is hard, buddy. But we’re asking you to trust us. You know, it’s our job to make big decisions like this. Especially when it’s something as important as this. But I promise you, your mom and I, we just want what’s best for you. And that is– it’s this place in maryland.

Chelsea: If we thought for a second there was a better option, something that could make the scary thoughts go away, something that could make your days happier and easier, we would tell you. But this is the best choice.

Connor: Will there be kids my age at this place?

Chelsea: Absolutely.

Adam: Mm-hmm.

Chelsea: Yeah. So many kids, struggling with the same things you are. So you can make friends with kids that actually understand what you’re going through. They’ll actually get it.

Adam: A– and they’re not freaks. And neither are you. And wouldn’t it be nice to make some friends with some people that you can really talk to about this kind of stuff?

Chelsea: Yeah. And your dad and I are going to come visit you on weekends.

Adam: Uh-huh.

Chelsea: If your caregivers say it’s okay, we’d love to take you out. We can all go sightseeing together.

Connor: I guess I can give it a try, but… if I really hate it there, you wouldn’t make me stay there, would you?

Kyle: Mom… why would I try to show you up?

Diane: Why else would you redo my work on my project without talking to me first?

Kyle: Redo? Mom, I think that’s a bit of an exaggeration. All I did was mark up some of the copy on your presentation.

Diane: And why would you do that?

Kyle: Uh, when I read it, it felt a bit rushed. So I cleaned it up a bit for you.

Diane: Rushed? Cleaned it up? Oh, because it was in such terrible shape.

Kyle: No, I was being a second set of eyes. Like a proofreader. I honestly thought I was doing you a favor.

Diane: No, kyle, that wasn’t a favor. A favor would have been if you had come to me, and you would have shared your thoughts, and then we could discuss any changes. And then I would make them, if I wanted to, with your input. You know, even if you had told me about it after you had done it, at least I wouldn’t have been blindsided. Instead, I happened to look over my final draft before the release, and I see your handiwork.

Kyle: Okay, mom, you’re blowing this way out of proportion.

Diane: Excuse me?

Kyle: No, you know none of this was meant to offend or upset. It was minor changes that happen every day in work documents. In my mind, it really wasn’t that big a deal.

Diane: Well, if it was the first time it happened, it wouldn’t be. But it has just been one thing after another. A small change here, a minor adjustment there.

Kyle: Yes, exactly, exactly. Small changes. I always have someone look over my work as a safety net. That is all.

Diane: You know what, kyle? All of this help of yours is really starting to add up. You have been reviewing and scrutinizing my work since the day I took the position, looking over my shoulder at every turn.

Kyle: Yeah, I thought we were working together. That you had welcomed my input, come to expect it. That’s how I would feel if the shoe were on the other foot.

Diane: Yeah, except you seem to forget that I’m your superior. You’re supposed to report to me, not the other way around.

Kyle: Well, forgive me if I overstepped.

[ Diane scoffs ]

Victoria: Jordan has been captured, right? She’s been exposed for the psychopath that she is. She’s got security monitoring her 24/7. I don’t believe that she has any moves left to play. I mean, yes, she’s put off getting locked in a jail cell for some time, but I mean, really, how much time has she bought herself?

Claire: This is why I wanted to leave her in that basement. We can’t underestimate my aunt. She always has a backup plan.

Jack: Good afternoon, ladies.

Nikki: Hi, jack. It’s good to see you.

Victoria: Hi, jack. Uh, I know you’ve met claire before, but I don’t believe you’ve met her as my daughter.

Jack: You’re absolutely right. I had no idea. Claire, I will tell you what I’ve told everyone else in your family. I will not let my decades-old feud with your grandfather have any effect on my feelings toward you.

[ Claire laughs ]

Claire: You’re too kind. Thank you.

Jack: I– I hope I’m not interrupting. I was hoping to speak to nikki, if you’re free.

Victoria: Oh, yes, she’s– actually, she’s free. We– claire and I are going to society to have lunch. Mom, you’re welcome to join us later if you’d like.

Nikki: Oh, thank you, sweetheart. You two go. Have fun.

Victoria: Thank you. Good to see you, jack.

Jack: See you. Uh, is this bad timing?

Nikki: No, not at all. I– I’m glad you’re here.

Jack: Were there some issues with your granddaughter? I– did I sense a tension when I walked in here?

Nikki: Yes, you definitely did. But it wasn’t about claire. It was about her aunt. I saved jordan’s life, and now I may live to regret it. Kerendia presents the abc’s of ckd.

Nikki: I mean, I knew the woman was crazy, but I certainly wasn’t expecting her to pull out a vial of poison and gulp it down. I mean, she was practically foaming at the mouth. I– I couldn’t stand there and– and watch her die. I– I had to do something.

Jack: Of course you did.

[ Nikki sighs ]

Nikki: So I called 911. At the time, that felt like a good decision, but now I’m worried that she’s going to use my split-second choice to her advantage.

Jack: Wait, but you call it a choice, but is it really one? I– you could not stand by and watch someone die right in front of you without trying to help them. Other people might, but not you.

Nikki: It doesn’t mean it was the right choice for my family.

Jack: I understand, but choosing otherwise would only torment and haunt you more.

Nikki: Well, thank you, jack. It’s good to hear you say that, and I– I will try to let go of this feeling, but the world would be better off if she had died right then and there.

Jack: So says victor newman, I assume.

Nikki: He’s not the only one.

Jack: It doesn’t matter. You stuck to your guns. You followed your own moral compass. You knew what you could and could not live with.

Nikki: I’m so relieved you backed me up on this.

[ Loud crashing ]

[ Nikki gasps ] My god, what was that?

Jack: Hey, hey, hey. It’s certainly not jordan, if that’s what you’re thinking.

Nikki: Claire said not to underestimate her, that she’s capable of anything.

Jack: Nikki, nikki, I’m sure it’s not her. She would never get through security. Let me check into this. I’ll be right back, okay?

Victoria: Sorry, mom! My purse got caught on the chair. We’re leaving now.

Jack: There you go. There’s your answe– hey, you are shaking like a leaf.

Diane: Kyle, I’m sorry. I– I didn’t mean to get so angry. I– look, I wasn’t trying to put you in your place.

Kyle: Mm. You sure?

Diane: Well, I– okay, I shouldn’t have said it like that, but, yes, I’ve had some concerns building, and I should have addressed them with you sooner.

Kyle: Yeah. Would have been nice to have known weeks ago that I should keep my opinion to myself.

Diane: That’s not what I meant. Look, I’m just trying to get a handle on our new working dynamic.

Kyle: Oh, I get it, our new working dynamic, with you as my superior.

Diane: Oh, my god, kyle. I mean, when you say things like that, it lets me know that you’re carrying around resentment towards me.

Kyle: Mm, that’s funny, because it sounds like you’re the one with the resentment, that I actually know what your job entails, that I might have some advice worth taking.

Diane: Fair enough. You do. And maybe that’s why I’m overly cautious when it comes to your involvement at work. But it doesn’t mean we can’t push through this. Why don’t– look, why don’t we get some lunch, and we can talk about it?

Kyle: Yeah, I’m sorry, mom. I just, uh, realized I need to take care of something at the office, and don’t worry about harrison. Mrs. Martinez said she’d look after him.

Diane: Kyle, we really should discuss this.

Chelsea: I promise, if this place doesn’t seem to be helping you, and you really, really don’t like it there, we won’t force you to stay.

Connor: Okay. Good.

Adam: But you gotta give it some time, okay? There’s no calling us the next day and asking us to come pick you up. Because the beginning is probably going to be slow. It’s going to feel confusing or boring. You know, it’s like soccer drills, right? They’re boring. You don’t really know why you’re doing them. But then you realize you need the basics to really play. Right?

Connor: Okay. I’ll try.

Chelsea: That’s my sweet boy. Uh, adam, can you call and confirm that we’re coming?

Adam: Yeah. This thing?

Announcer: The young and the restless will continue.

Adam: Okay, that sounds good. Um, yes, we will let you know when to expect us. Thank you.

Chelsea: Sounds like that went well.

Adam: Yeah, the administrators are on top of everything, and connor’s school and doctors are in touch, so his academic records, coursework are ready to be transferred. They can enroll him immediately.

Chelsea: Wow. The sooner we get moving, the sooner we get you back on the right path.

Adam: Well, actually, they only have one bed left, so we need to move fast. You know, maybe we could fly out later this evening if possible.

Connor: This is happening so fast.

Adam: Well, that’s a good thing. It means we need to stay focused. Gotta keep our eyes on the prize, huh?

Connor: I have to make a list. There’s some things I have to bring with me. No way I can go without them.

Chelsea: No problem. I’ll stick to the list and make sure you have everything you need.

Adam: All right. All right, come. Life is gonna get better for you, okay? This is gonna work. I love you. Never forget that, okay?

[ Adam sighs ]

[ Footsteps approaching ]

Nikki: Thank you.

Jack: Now, what was all that about?

Nikki: Lately, I’ve been in a constant state of needing to be distracted. As a result, claire and I have gotten to know each other better. We’ve been telling each other stories about our lives. It’s a way for us to shut jordan out of our head.

Jack: Is that your way of telling me one of us should stop talking?

Nikki: Yes, please. Tell me about your family. What’s going on with the abbotts?

Jack: Well, let’s see. Things at jabot are going relatively well.

Nikki: Relatively?

Jack: Diane and kyle are adjusting to their new roles at jabot, but, uh, they’ve hit a rough patch. It’ll be– it’ll be better soon. And traci is busy working on her book.

Nikki: Oh, she’s such a talented writer. I can’t wait to read it. How is ashley doing?

Jack: Actually, I am concerned about ashley these days. I was gonna ask you for some advice.

Nikki: Well, I’m happy to listen, but… I don’t know your sister would be thrilled that you’re coming to me for guidance, so please don’t credit any of my words of wisdom to me.

Jack: Duly noted.

Nikki: Well, what’s going on with her?

Jack: She is struggling with the end of her marriage to tucker mccall.

Nikki: Why is that guy still even in town?

Jack: Oh, god, I ask myself daily. Their marriage ended so badly, they each have a completely different perspective on what happened in the fight that caused the breakup.

Nikki: Let me guess. He insisted he’s completely innocent.

Jack: Oh, yes, totally blameless. And ashley, of course, argues with that. And after weeks of accusations and denials, ashley suddenly decided that maybe she blew the circumstances out of proportion.

Nikki: Well, after all that animosity, I assume their relationship is over.

Jack: Well, that is the thing. She vacillates between… hating him and wanting to forgive him and take him back. And… one minute, she’s– she’s ranting and raving about what a horrible man he is, and the next she feels guilty about misjudging him and wants to make room for him in her life. And the whole while she is saying everything’s fine.

Nikki: Well, that is unsettling.

Jack: It is. Why would she want that slime back in her life? I’ve tried offering her advice and comfort and space and anything I can think of, but I can’t seem to get through to her.

Nikki: Oh, jack, I’m so sorry you’ve been dealing with this at home while I’ve been leaning on you as my sponsor.

Jack: No, no, no, no. At the beginning, she had me completely convinced she wanted nothing to do with him. I’ve since learned that is not the case.

Nikki: I can certainly see why you’re concerned. If you still want my advice–

Jack: I do.

Nikki: I don’t think you’re going to like it.

Jack: Go ahead.

Nikki: You need to stay out of it. Now, I am the first one to say that sometimes ashley doesn’t make the best decisions. But if she is in trouble, she needs to know that she can trust you. If things blow up, she wants to be able to lean on you and not hear any I-told-you-so’S. Don’t risk pushing her away, and that could very well happen if you try to control her life.

Jack: You’re right. I don’t like it. But you’re not the first person to say it, my wife seems to agree with you. So I guess I have no choice, but to listen.

Nikki: Well, I think you already knew it in your heart.

Jack: No, I wouldn’t give me that much credit.

Nikki: Well, I hate to see you agonizing over your sister like this, but… hey, it’s not all bad.

Jack: No?

Nikki: Mission accomplished. You managed to get me out of my own head for a while.

[ Jack chuckling ]

Claire: Like what?

Victoria: For instance, what would you have studied if it had been up to you, and you didn’t have someone controlling your every move?

Claire: I don’t– I don’t know.

Victoria: I– I always planned to be in business, but my other great passion, something that I love so much, is art. What about you?

Claire: I love museums. For the art, but also the people watching, so cool. You get to see a painting, and then you can also see what it means to someone who’s looking at it.

Victoria: Then you were allowed to go to museums, at least.

Claire: Yeah, but it’s not really like you think. Being exposed to art was to help me fit into your world, help me blend in. It wasn’t for my sake, but I got something out of it anyway. My aunt couldn’t take my imagination from me. That was always mine.

Victoria: It is all yours. Your thoughts, your dreams, your future. It’s all yours, claire. I know that we have a lot of lost time to make up for, but we can do it, I know that.

Kyle: Afternoon, ladies.

Victoria: Hi, kyle, it’s nice running into you again.

Kyle: Likewise.

[ Phone ringing ]

Victoria: Excuse me for a minute, I have to take this. Hello.

Claire: Kyle. Do you want to sit?

Kyle: Careful. You might regret the offer. I’m not in the greatest mood, so I’m probably not the best company.

Claire: Well, you would be surprised at the kind of company I can put up with. I’m sure even on your worst day, you’re still a big improvement in my book.

[ Kyle chuckles ]

Kyle: Is that so? Why don’t you tell me more? Hi. I use febreze fade defy plug.

Claire: Oh, well, I have tons of experience with undesirable companions. I can’t single anyone out. That wouldn’t be fair to them.

Kyle: It’s nice of you to respect their privacy.

Claire: Always.

[ Kyle chuckles ]

Kyle: I wasn’t eavesdropping, but I heard victoria say you have to make up for a lot of time. I assume that’s because she didn’t get to raise you.

Claire: Right, I was raised by my great-aunt on my father’s side. She kept me pretty sheltered. So, what’s your connection to the newman family? Well, I know, you and summer are divorced, but yesterday, when we saw you with your son, you seemed like a happy family.

Kyle: Our marriage is over, but summer and i are co-parenting harrison the best we can. He’s a great kid.

Claire: I saw that firsthand.

Kyle: You did. And he’s been through a lot in his little life. I can’t let that happen again. So, summer and I are just doing our best. Yeah, you must have had a hard time as a child, too.

Claire: It was all I knew.

Kyle: It doesn’t make it any easier, does it? I mean, did you feel different than the other kids in your class who had their mothers and fathers?

Claire: Wow, kyle, you sure ask a lot of questions.

Kyle: I– I didn’t mean to be intrusive.

[ Claire sighs ]

Claire: Someone warned you about me, didn’t they? Now you’re just trying to figure out how terrible a person I really am.

Jack: Hey! Look who’s here. I thought you’d be at work.

Diane: Uh, I was, but then I came back to have a chat with kyle.

Jack: Oh, is there a problem?

Diane: I’d say so. In fact, I did say so directly to our son.

Jack: Uh, what did the two of you discuss?

Diane: Well, I confronted him about why he keeps double-checking my work and making changes to it without bothering to talk to me about it first.

Jack: And what did he say?

Diane: Oh, he said my copy felt rushed, and he’s doing me a favor, as if it’s his call to make. And then things got heated between us, and, jack, I know, I know that all of this is because he resents me for having the position that he once held.

Jack: I know you have worried about this, but it was kyle that recommended you take the job. At some point, you’re going to have to accept him at his word that this is what he wants.

Diane: Well, he might have been on board at first, but I think he’s having second thoughts. I know him, and I know that it is killing him to see me in his place. So what do I do?

Adam: Well, it took some time, and a lot of finessing.

Sally: But connor agreed?

Adam: He’s willing to go to the residential program.

[ Sally sighs ]

Sally: Well, I– I know this isn’t easy, but I’m really proud of you for accepting it yourself and for convincing connor.

Adam: Ultimately, in the end, it wasn’t my choice, you know? I had to listen to what you said and put my son first. But I don’t want this. No, I don’t want any of this for him. I want him to be happy and well at home. I want the biggest problem in his life to be what movie he’s gonna go to with his pals. But none of that can happen until he gets help.

Sally: And you’re doing everything you can to make sure that’s possible.

Adam: Then why do I feel so guilty about it? When I was a kid, I was so screwed up. If I don’t know how to be a good person, how the hell am i ever gonna be a good parent? You know, did I pass this dysfunction along to him? Maybe if I had been there for him, maybe he wouldn’t have to deal with this.

Sally: Adam. Adam. No, what connor is going through is rough on all three of you. But you cannot blame yourself. You did nothing wrong. You have been an amazing parent to your son, I’ve seen it.

Adam: We’re leaving for the east coast tonight so we can get him admitted in the morning. Chelsea’s helping him pack a bag right now.

Sally: Well, that’s good. One more step in the right direction to getting connor the help he needs. Look, you have done a lot of brave things in your life, adam. I know you would deny it, but it’s true. You can and will get through this, too.

[ Adam sighs ]

Adam: Well, I– I mean, seriously, seriously, seeing him go through this is tearing me apart. He just told us he doesn’t even know what’s real and what’s just going around in his head. I mean, something– something broke in me when he said those words.

Sally: And that is how you know that you’re doing the right thing. It’s exactly why this decision is so important. It’s just what connor needs.

[ Adam sighs ] If advanced lung cancer

Sally: Chelsea. I’m glad I got to see you before you all go.

Chelsea: Hi, sally, I’m glad I got to see you, too. Um, I wanted to thank you for all the support you’ve been giving adam. He’s going through a lot. We all are, and I’m– I’m grateful that you’ve been there for him.

Sally: I mean, I really haven’t done anything much, just listened, so…

Chelsea: I think you’ve done more than that.

Sally: Well, like I told him, I know what a wonderful father he is and that he will always do whatever he can for connor.

Adam: Well, let’s just pray that it is enough.

Sally: I really can’t imagine what you and adam have been going through, let alone connor. He really is a great kid. And this facility sounds amazing, I’ll be sending all my good thoughts. And if there’s anything you need, seriously, please call me.

Chelsea: Thank you, sally. I appreciate that. And if I haven’t said it yet, I’m– I’m really grateful you’re back in adam’s life. Especially now, when he really needs your help.

Sally: Well, thank you. That means a lot.

Chelsea: Um, I don’t want to leave connor alone up there for too long, so I’m gonna head up. Um, meet you in a few?

Adam: Yeah.

Chelsea: Okay.

Sally: Connor really is a great kid. With two great parents who could not be more loving and caring.

[ Adam exhales sharply ]

Adam: And we are doing the right thing, mm-hmm.

Sally: You are. Now, look, I know you have a million things to do, so I won’t keep you.

Adam: Well, I don’t know how long they’re gonna let us stay after connor’s admitted, but I would like to stay with him as long as possible, so I’m not sure when we’re gonna come back.

Sally: It’s fine. I understand. Just keep in touch and let me know how it’s going, okay?

Adam: Yeah. Of course. Oh, I should get going. I still have a lot of things to do, like alerting nick and victor. You know, it’s sudden, and there’s probably a lot of things I gotta wrap up, so…

Sally: Hey, adam, do not worry about work right now, okay? I will let them know what’s going on. And you know nick will cover you on the work front, okay?

Sally: I will be thinking of you and connor and sending you both my love. And remember… all of your focus needs to be on your son.

Jack: I am not going to tell you how to handle this. That would undermine both of you, you’ll find your way through this.

Diane: I know, I could just use the advice of my co-ceo.

Jack: Honey, I love you both. You have to communicate. You’ll find your way through all of this. Look, you’re in a very unique position as co-ceo and his mother. Doesn’t make things any easier, but this is for the two of you to find a way to move forward. So the solution has to come from the two of you.

Kyle: “Terrible person”? I mean, why would you even think that? Why would I?

Claire: I appreciate you trying not to embarrass me over my past. Or yourself for being freaked out by it, but… we can be honest here. You learned more about my story, didn’t you?

Kyle: Claire, I haven’t hear–

Claire: I can tell. Yesterday, you treated me completely differently. You were mildly curious about my story in a, “wow, that’s so great you two found each other” kind of way. But today, your questions are pointed, and they’re intense.

Kyle: Okay. Okay. Yes. I did find out more about your life. And honestly, it’s all pretty shocking.

Claire: And you probably don’t even know the whole story. So you should walk away. After what you heard, no one would blame you. I have a dangerous past. You should go. Protect yourself.

Kyle: No, you’re not getting off the hook that easy. You said I don’t know all of it, so tell me your side. I’m ready to listen.

[ Phone ringing ]

Nikki: Security? Hello? No, victor’s not here. Did you try him on his cell? Yes, I can take a message. What? Jordan… escaped from the hospital? Oh, my god. Oh, my god, this can’t be happening.

what the hell is wrong with you?! Noth– there’s nothing wrong with me. Okay, so if someone says something to you that isn’t flattery or — or groveling, you’re just gonna take that as betrayal? And now you’re putting your trust in ava now? What am i supposed to do? At least ava didn’t pay somebody to spy on me like you paid traitor dex! What about jason?!

[ Scoffs ] He risked his life for you! He took beatings and bullets for you. He ran your business when you couldn’T. Hell, he went to prison to protect our son! Your son. That’s another one I can’t count on. Oh, so we’re just gonna add michael to that list, huh? Pretty much. You know what, sonny? When people you trust are turning against you, maybe they aren’t the problem. Maybe you are! And who am I supposed to trust — you, carly? For all I know, you and jason… are working together. Hey. Everything okay with scout? I let her watch a half-hour show before bed on her tablet. Think that’s alright?

[ Chuckles ] Not a chance. Sam won’t like it. You know what? I’ll take the hit and say it was my idea.

[ Cellphone rings ] Come on. Let’s play. Oh, honey, it’s your mom. Hey, sam. He’s awake! What?! Sam: Dante! He’s awake! Oh, my god! Elizabeth and the doctors are in there with him now. Thank god! He’s awake! Oh, thank god! -For real? You’re sure? -Is he okay? -Yeah. Yeah, yeah. -Your dad’s alright. He’s coming back to you. Olivia? I’m here. I’m here. He’s gonna be okay.

[ Exhales heavily ] As exhilarating as it is to get out of pentonville, I wouldn’t mind knowing where we’re going. Ah. The strong, silent type, I see.

[ Brakes squeal ]

[ Engine shuts off ]

[ Door closes ] Hi, jack. Ahh. You’re looking well. For a prisoner. Valentin. You know, val, I was starting to think you’d abandoned me. Oh, I got here as soon as I could. You left me a few fires to put out, jack. Are they out? Or are you letting pikeman burn down around you? Jason. Frank.

[ Sighs ] Sonny home? I’m under strict orders not to let anybody in. But the boss would make an exception for you. Welcome back. Thanks. Go ahead.

[ Door opens ] I wish that instead of spending the last three years missing and grieving for jason…

[ Door closes ] …That I was secretly calling him and conspiring against you.

Jason: I can come back. -No. You shouldn’t have to answer this, but for some reason, sonny needs to hear it. Did you shoot dante? No. How is he? He hasn’t woken up. You out on bail? $5 million. Michael paid it. Of course he did. It’s jason. You want to tell me where you’ve been and how come you haven’t reached out? Does she really need to be here? Yeah, she needs to be here because she was at the warehouse when someone took a shot at me. Jason was on the roof. You’re not gonna deny that, right? I was there on the rooftop that night. And, what, you — you didn’t mean for me to die? I made sure you didn’T. Can you tell me why I should believe you? Care to explain what the hell went wrong with the op to take out sonny corinthos? Well, for starters, his oldest friend was assigned to the sniper team. “Alan jacobs” — that was an alias being used by jason morgan. Now, I wasn’t at the shooting, and we can’t ask the sniper because he’s dead, but I guess that jason morgan sabotaged the operation. Did nobody at pikeman realize we had jason morgan on the payroll? Well, at any given time, pikeman employs upwards of 15,000 mercenaries deployed to our various clients around the world, so forgive me if I don’t vet each one personally. Well, he didn’t just make it past the vetting process. He worked his way up to the asset group. What can I say? We only promote the best. Jack, how about in future we only promote the best a hell of a lot more carefully? Well, you make sure you do that. Institute a whole new policy. What are we doing right now to fix it? Okay, jason morgan may have derailed our latest attempt to get rid of sonny, but he’s gonna be joining you in pentonville very soon for shooting a cop, dante falconeri — sonny’s son, no less. This is like an oil slick. Just keeps spreading. So not only was the op a failure, but a cop gets, what, winged, injured? He’s probably gonna die. A dead cop. Even better. And the icing on the cake is that our operative is now in custody. So was it really morgan who shot falconeri? It’s impossible to say. It could have been our sniper, but like I said, he’s dead. Extraction team was able to get the body and the weapon off the pier before the first responders got there. So the only way to prove it wasn’t morgan is if the cop id’s the shooter. What about you? What about me? Well, the only prayer morgan has is if he — if he gives up pikeman. Could he know… you’ve been running the company since my arrest? I can’t believe dante’s actually awake! You know what? All those prayers we sent up, they did the trick. Yes, they certainly did. Mm-hmm! Okay. If you need me, I will be at the hospital. -Okay. -I’m coming with you. Me too. Oh, honey, you know, y-your dad is in the icu, and they don’t allow a lot of visitors there. That’s okay. We can wait outside. As long as we can just look in and see him. Ahh. Honey, your dad’s wounds are very serious. I-it might be kind of hard for you to see him like that. And it might be hard for him, too. I — dad said there was never a wrong time for me to come to him… that he would be there for me always. Of course he said that. And it’s true. I — hey. Hey. Take them to G.H. Yeah? They can handle it. Can’t you, boys? Look. Not knowing is way worse than seeing him for ourselves. And plus, I’ll — I’ll sit with rocco the entire time. Okay. Go get your coats. I’ll see you in the foyer.

[ Sighs ] Are you sure you’re okay to stay with scout? Of course I’m okay. Don’t worry about it. And you tell dante that I was praying for him, okay? And that I was praying in italian. The language of the popes. Well, most of the popes.

[ Laughs ] Yeah? I love you. Thank you. Bye!

[ Exhales heavily ]

Grazie mille. Well, how is he, dr. Park? Can I see him? You can. The breathing tube’s out. But dante will still have some trouble speaking. Okay. He’ll want some water. Don’t give him more than a sip at a time. And if he starts coughing, use the call button. I’ll order something to coat and numb his throat. That should help. Thank you. What else? Oh, oh. We took his chest tube out when his lung re-inflated, so be careful ’cause he’s gonna be really sore. Okay. -Go. He’s waiting for you. -Okay.

[ Monitor beeping ] Welcome back, detective. Don’t you dare ever scare me like that again.

[Weakly] Get… get what? Are you thirsty? Do you need some water? Get… over here. Hey. Does it hurt?

[ Grunts ] You lie. I’m sorry. No, don’T. Don’t you dare be sorry. You have nothing to be sorry for. I… I love you. Now, that you can do.

[ Chuckles ]

Well, you know me, jack.I’m all about discretion. I do know that. All these years, you’ve been instrumental in pikeman’s expansion, and no one had any idea you were involved. But now you’re running the place. Eh, I’m not holding shareholders’ calls. I’m dealing with supervisors through encrypted communication. There’s nothing to be traced to me. You hope. Jack, you got sloppy — coming to port charles personally, getting involved with carly. No, I don’t know if I’d call it “involved.” Diverted, maybe. Interested? Certainly. Just my bad luck that her ex is the very man that had to be removed. Speaking of… what does corinthos know? Well, he knows enough to not show his face where we can get a clear shot at him. I’ve left some breadcrumbs, some misinformation. He thinks he’s being targeted by a mysterious enemy named “stone.” Stone. Who’s stone? Somebody that sonny was very fond of, but he’s been dead for decades. And if sonny thinks he’s being targeted by a dead man, that will probably take his attention off of pikeman. There have been far too many misfires, jack. That has to change now. Sonny corinthos has a stranglehold on port charles, and if he’s not willing to do business with us… yeah, no matter how much we offer him. Then we need him gone. So…what’s the plan? You do have a plan, right? I mean, we have colleagues in the wsb eager to make sure that the right supplies get into the right hands. We have very lucrative contracts to fill and very volatile customers to satisfy. We need a reliable shipping terminal. And port charles is ideally situated. Corinthos is in the way. It’s on you… to get him out of the way. Yes. Of course I have a plan. Well, don’t leave me in suspense. How do we take corinthos down? We don’T. Sonny does it for us. So, when the cave collapsed in greece, I found a tunnel outside. And that’s when I got picked up by the fbi. Carly: The fbi was in greece? Yeah, they had peter august under surveillance. That’s why they were watching cassadine island. They picked you up. Then what? I’ve been an informant ever since. You were an informant for the fbi? Why the hell would you do that? I had no choice. You’re an — an informant for the fbi?! You must be protecting someone. Who? Who are you protecting, jason? Myself. It’s true. You’re awake.

[ Chuckles ] Hey, mom. Oh, oh!

[ Monitor beeping ] Oh, god, honey. Don’t ever do that to us again, okay?

[ Dante groans ] I read him the riot act already. Oh! Good! Good. Oh, sweetheart. I love you so much.

[ Groans ] How could — uh… how could you not? Right?

[ Laughs ] You’re cracking jokes already, huh? It’s probably a good sign, huh? I think so. I think so, too. Oh, sweetheart. I love you so much. Looks like you brought some tagalongs. Oh. They wouldn’t take no for an answer. I hope it’s okay. Is it okay if they come in and just say a quick “hi”? There are a lot of things that happen around here that I have no idea about.

[ Door opens ] Sam: Come on in. Come on. It’s okay. Hi, dad. Hey, pal. It’s okay. I… I won’t bite. It’s a little hard for your dad to talk right now, but he could use a hug. It won’t hurt him? Just be gentle. Okay. I missed you so much. Me too, bud. Hey, you.

[ Olivia chuckles ] We’re all really happy you’re okay.

[ Olivia exhales sharply ] Me too.

Been in the paperevery day since you got hurt, and today you’re on the front page because of the hearing. Hey, um, maybe we can show your dad that tomorrow. Olivia: Yeah. He just needs to rest right now. -Hearing? -He means arraignment. Whatever. Look, a-a lot of people think that my dad’s the one that shot you, and how that you’re awake… you can tell them it wasn’t him, right? Sam: You know what? I think olivia’s right. I think it’s time for dante to get some rest. Yeah, you heard the woman. Let’s, uh — everybody out. Everybody out. Dad doesn’t want us to go. Yeah, well, sometimes dads don’t know what’s best for them. Come on. Everybody. Uh… just for a minute. Alright?

[ Door closes ] Can I get you anything? Anna. It’s no secret that sonny suffers from bipolar disorder. Ah. He’s certainly managed to turn it to his advantage. Apparently, even a crime boss can get good press for being, uh, “openly afflicted.” He’s managed his condition through medication. Yeah. I have made contact with his source for bipolar meds. Let’s just say that we’ve come to an agreement. He’ll be filling sonny’s prescription at one-quarter strength, three-quarters placebo. So corinthos will believe he’s medicated per usual. He’ll become increasingly erratic, paranoid. Removing him will become child’s play.

[ Sighs ] Well, don’t underestimate the man. That was my mistake. I thought he could be bought — just like we bought all the others — and then eliminated once we were done with him. But corinthos hasn’t survived this long by being stupid. No, he’s survived by being medicated. Now he won’t be. He’s already derailed. He’s not covering his tracks. He tried to beat an old man to death with his bare hands.

[ Chuckles ] No, we’re not gonna have to go through the trouble of killing him, not if he gets himself arrested and convicted first. So that’s it? That’s all you’re gonna give us? You’re an informant for the feds? Jason would tell us more if he could. Of course you’re defending him, carly. The question is, why aren’t you? Why? Because he let us believe he was dead for two years! He had his reasons, sonny! Oh, his reasons. I don’t care about his reasons right now. Since when?! Why are you ignoring your history with someone who has always been loyal to you? Right. Until now, carly. Jason had his reasons! He’s working for the feds. He was there the night someone took a shot at me. And look at you — standing here just fine, thanks to jason. We don’t know that for sure! You don’t know that! I do! You know why? Why? Because he just told us, sonny! Oh. Oh. How about we just table this discussion for a while, right? Until cooler heads prevail. Can you please shut up?! This has nothing to do with you! Don’t — don’t speak to her that way. What has happened to you?! I’m not the one who has changed. This is my survival instincts kicking in. And it’s telling me… if you’re working for the feds, jason, and you’re not gonna tell me why… that means I can’t trust you… and I can’t trust carly. You’re both traitors to me. Do you hear yourself, sonny? Get out of my house. Sonny! I’m not gonna say it again. We need to go. This is crazy. We need to go.

I’ll be right back. Anna: Hi. Hi. Thank you for coming so late. Oh, god. I’m happy to get this call if it came at 3:00 A.M. He pulled through. Ohh. Thank god. I know. I’m so glad. I’m so glad for you and the boys and me and the department and… without dante, I… he’s just such a good friend, you know? And he’s my mvd. Mvd? Most valuable detective, obviously. I love it. I know he’s gonna love it, too. Okay. We’ll be right back. Okay? Sam: Hey. You got a visitor. Ohh… hey. Good to see you, detective. You too. Speaking is a little rough for him, so… yeah. Don’t strain yourself, okay? Anna: Alright. I’ll give you guys some space. Thanks, olivia. Guess what. You have a new nickname. Anna: [ Laughs ] Oh, yeah? Yeah. Um… mvd. Most valuable detective. You like it? Chase won’t, but I do. I’m relieved we didn’t lose you. Me too. Yeah.

[ Breathes deeply ] Is he all caught up? Um. Uh, some. He knows about the arraignment today, but I wanted everyone else out of the room before the discussion went any further. And dante wanted you. Yeah. Dante, I-I gotta ask you. Um, do you know who shot you? I never seen him before. It’s okay. Take it slow. Can — we can get you a pen and paper or something or… dante? Not…jason. Jason didn’t shoot you? No. Okay. But you saw him, yeah? Yeah. He’s, uh… it’s okay. Take it slow, baby.

[ Exhales heavily ] He’s the reason I’m alive. It’s official, folks. He’s still diabolical. Yeah, well, apparently that isn’t a character trait one easily grows out of.

[ Inhales sharply ] So how are you doing in pentonville? Ah, it’s a regular vacation. Otherwise no problems? Well, just the occasional sleepless night where I wonder if you’re up for this. Gift for logistics doesn’t necessarily translate into a gift for leadership. Well, you’re a natural-born leader, jack. Hmm. I know ’cause it says so in your psych eval.

[ Laughs ] And look where it’s gotten you. In a prison jumpsuit in a maximum-security. Right. Giving control over to me and hoping I can handle it. I can handle it. Is that confidence or ego speaking? I think we’re done here. Uh, not quite. I need cash. Oh, yeah? Still bribing your way through the system, I see. Well, how else do you get through it? Fair enough. Here. That should suffice. Thank you, daddy warbucks. Oh. One more thing. How’s anna devane? Why do you ask me that? Gives a whole new meaning to, uh… “careful what you wish for,” doesn’t it? You’ve finally achieved your undying dream of getting anna to love you… only to watch it…

[Pops lips] …Go up in smoke. You done? Uhh…yeah. I suppose. Because if anna finds out my involvement with pikeman, this van is gonna be the last you see outside the prison walls. Don’t worry! Your secret’s safe with me. You really are a bastard, aren’t you, jack? Yeah, and so are you. Two of a kind, eh? Boy, that was something else, huh? That’s one way to describe it. What’s yours? Uh, I don’t — I don’t — you know, this is — I don’t want to talk about this right now. Okay. I just want to say one more thing. I just want to say thank you for defending me to carly like that. You’re welcome. I knew it would piss her off. Still. Doesn’t happen very often, and I appreciate it. I can’t believe I ever loved carly. I mean, we raised a family together, and I thought, you know, she would stick by me till the end, no matter what, you know? Whether we were married or not. You know what I’m saying? Right. Whatever the relationship, you thought she’d always be loyal. But there was always jason. They were always… together. I mean, they got married. It’s been a hell of a day. Why don’t I fix you a drink? God knows

i could use one. Thanks. I’ll be right back. Okay? Mm-hmm.

[ Cellphone dings ]

Hey. Your turn. -Oh. Thank you, honey. Yeah. Sam. Hey. How’s he doing? It’s definitely a struggle for him to talk, but other than that… you must be letting out the biggest exhale right now. I honestly didn’t know, elizabeth. I’m really happy for all of you. Listen. Um… dante confirmed that it wasn’t jason who shot him. I thought you would want to tell jake. I know that danny will definitely be comforted to hear that. Yeah. Yeah, so will jake. I like the new name. Ohh. Elizabeth made the sign. It’s a great tribute to your mom. Yeah. I-I feel her here. I mean, I feel her everywhere, but… this place was special to her. So were you. Hey. I saw you at the arraignment today. Yeah, I was hoping that wouldn’t happen. I could tell. Well, I don’t think anybody noticed. Everyone was pretty distracted. I had to be there because I knew he was innocent. You really believe in your dad, don’t you? Of course. Well, he’s lucky to have you in his corner. Yeah. To bobbie. To bobbie.

[ Glasses clink ] I’m sorry I wasn’t — I wasn’t here for you. You would have been if you could. I know that.

[ Breathes deeply ] It’s crazy to me that sonny doesn’t see that. I-I just — what the hell’s wrong with him? I’m used to him acting like that with me, but… with you? I mean, it’s you! And you’re back. And I-I still can’t believe it’s real. Well, I know you have questions. Oh! About a hundred and one. Yeah. You know I can’t answer most of them. I know. But instead of us, um, talking about… where you’ve been, why don’t we just stay in the here and now? How’s your gunshot wound? Thank you. Uh, it’s sore. But, you know, I’m healing. What did diane say? What are your chances?

[ Sighs ] Uphill battle. Unless dante exonerates me. Okay, then we just have to believe that that’s going to happen, that he’s going to come to and he’s gonna tell everybody that you didn’t shoot him. Carly, I just — I just want him to pull through. Me too. But I want it for a lot of reasons. Is that all you got for me?

[ Chuckles ] One more. Obviously you’re back. I-I don’t know… for how long. You’re here until the trial starts, right? Yeah. Where you gonna stay? I have the most incredible news.

[ Sonny sighs ] Yeah? Am I gonna have to guess? Dante’s awake. Are you kidding me? No, I just called the hospital for an update. They said that he’s awake a-and he’s even speaking. Thank god! A miracle, right? So, uh, I should go to G.H., Right? No. You know, they told me that he’s in with the doctor and they can’t be disturbed, so you’ll have to wait till tomorrow to see him. Well, I have to call olivia and sam. Where’s my phone? Oh, you know what? I’m sure that the hospital’s already done that, sonny. Really. Just — sonny, why don’t you just sit down and relax and rejoice in dante’s good fortune… and put what carly a-and jason put you through out of your head? Honestly. That whole ordeal was so exhausting. Yeah, yeah. Exhausting… but necessary. I finally, you know, see the truth about those two. I mean, it’s been staring me in the face for years. Can I get you anything else? Yeah. Why don’t you have a seat? We can rejoice… in the good fortune of my son. Happy to.

I’m trying to figure out how long I’ve known that man I just met with. We came up in the business together. Unlike most in our line of wor k,we were never true believers in anything other than getting the job done. You know? Pragmatists. And that’s why we rose to the top together. Although, I’m sure this hardly looks like the — the top, seeing as you’re returning me to my prison cell. Not that I’m complaining. Anything to get a break from this place. Home sweet home. Sorry if I bored you. Clearly, I don’t get out much. Valentin. Val, val, val. Damn, you’re good. Uh , I know the hospitalsaid that dante woke up. Did they say anything else? Like, um, does — is he gonna have to have surgery or…? I mean, is he in the icu? I-I was so happy about the update that I didn’t even ask those questions. Should I call back and ask? No, no, no. That’s okay. That’s alright. Life is amazing. Yeah? In what respect? The constant balancing the scales. Just a few hours ago, I-I lost my best friend. But I also gained my son back. I’m so sorry about the first… and so happy about the second. You know, um, I know that I haven’t been in play nearly as long as — as carly or jason, but… …I’m here, sonny. You can count on me. You know…

[ Exhales heavily ] …It’s amazing that… …out of everything that’s happened to me, you’re, like, the only one… that’s been here for me. Well, I… probably not the only one. Well, I mean, you know, pretty much.

[ Chuckles ] Good night. Night. You have to stay somewhere. Yeah. No. I’m gonna figure it out. Do you have any money? Do — I mean, not at the moment, I don’t — I have money. Carly. I don’t need money. I have money. I just have to get access to it tomorrow. But you don’t have enough money to pay for a place to stay, so I want you to come and I want you to stay with me. No, that’s not happening. People could be looking for me. Well, then you stay at the metro court. You know the security is great there. No, that’s not happening. Oh, jason!

[ Sighs ] Oh, my god. Do you remember the room that I had here? When you lived above jake’s and I lived here. Do you remember that? Y-yes, I r-remember. The room’s available! I mean, it’s nothing fancy or anything, but it’s clean. You’ll be safe, and you’ll be fed. Y-you can use the entrance for the delivery people. You can come and go as — as often you want. Come on. What do you say? I say it — it sounds perfect. Thank you.

[ Sighs ] God. It’s just so funny. I… I had that room painted after the last tenant left, and I went up there to inspect, and I walked around the room. And I was hit right between the eyes… with how I used to feel when I lived there… how I came up with every excuse to go to jake’s just so I could see you and… I stood in the middle of that room missing you so much I could barely breathe. And now I don’t have to miss you anymore because you’re here. You’re home. You’re home. Oh, my god. Do you think I’m psychic? Do you think I had that room painted because I knew you were coming back? No.

[ Laughs ] Oh, probably not. But you have to admit — it was really great timing. It was. That’s always been the case with us, huh? Either perfect timing or… the worst.

[ Cellphone rings ] Uh… oof. Anna.

[ Cellphone ringing ]

[ Sighs ] Hello? Hi. Carly, it’s anna. Is jason there? No. Why? Okay. Um… well, when you “see” him, would you let him know that dante’s awake… and, um, he made it very clear that not only did jason not shoot him, he saved his life.

[ Gasps ] Oh, my god. Anna, that is amazing. That is — that is so amazing. I, um — thank you for calling me. I-I will tell jason when I see him. When you “see” him? That’s right. And will you also tell him… “thank you” for me? Because if it wasn’t for him, I’d be down a friend. I will. Ohh! You heard that, right?

[ Sighs ] Dante woke up. That’s right, and — and he told everyone that you did not shoot him and that you saved his life. You okay?

[ Exhales sharply ] Better than I was. Me too. Me too.

[ Upbeat music ]

Hope: Thomas has left me. He’s taking our son to paris. You’ve gotten your way, and yet you are still standing here, rubbing my face in it.

Steffy: You hurt my brother. This is the best thing that could’ve happened to him.

Hope: You just couldn’t leave us alone, could you?

Steffy: You had your chance, but you couldn’t commit. Now it’s time for you to learn a lesson. Do not mess with me and my family. Brooke may have stolen my father, but you will not steal my brother.

Brooke: Thomas didn’t even take a second to think it over.

Ridge: This has been brewing for quite some time. He proposed to hope again, she turned him down again. He hit his breaking point.

Brooke: Yeah, well, for him to take douglas and fly off to paris without even– barely discussing it with his mother.

Ridge: You heard douglas. He wanted to go.

Brooke: Oh, ridge. He’s a child. He doesn’t understand the enormity of this situation. And he doesn’t know how hurt hope is. I mean, her whole world is turned upside-down.

Ridge: This all happened pretty quickly. It did.

Brooke: Yes, it did.

Ridge: And I’m sorry, and, uh… hope must be in shock, but… she was never gonna marry thomas. So he moved on.

Luna: Rj loves me and– and trusts me, and this is what I do to him?

Zende: It was definitely mutual. It’s something that we both wanted.

Luna: How could– how could I do this to him?

Zende: Hey, luna?

Luna: Zende. I– I didn’t realize you were coming.

Zende: Rj didn’t get my text? We have some stuff to go over for hope for the future.

Luna: Uh, yeah. He just went out for a run.

Zende: Ah. Well, I, um– I guess that gives us a moment to catch up. So, how is everything? You look like you just went for a swim.

Luna: Earlier. Yeah, it was nice.

Zende: Cool. Listen, luna, I hope you’re not still stressed out over our night together.

Zende: Are you okay? I really hope you’re not stressing out over that night together.

Luna: I wish I could say I wasn’t, but… look, it’s nothing personal, okay? I mean, I like you, zende.

Zende: No, I get it. You and rj are a couple.

Luna: Yeah, I never meant to betray him.

Zende: I know.

Luna: It’s just– it’s not who I am.

Zende: I am assuming that you still haven’t told him?

Luna: He still has no idea.

Brooke: Hope wasn’t ready. Okay, what if she let thomas put that ring on her finger and then she changed her mind?

Ridge: That wouldn’t have been good either.

Brooke: Exactly! Because she’s honest. She’s real. She’s truthful. And now she’s being punished for it.

Ridge: No one’s being punished. What did you want thomas to do? Just wait around, see if she changes her mind? Just put his whole life on hold?

Brooke: You’re starting to sound like steffy.

Steffy: You never truly wanted thomas. He was like a plaything to you, something you possess.

Hope: I wasn’t stealing thomas, steffy. I love him.

Steffy: Love him or leading him on?

Hope: Why are you so cynical?

Steffy: Because I know you, hope.

Hope: You went too far, steffy. You’ve crossed a line.

Steffy: Hope, he’s my brother. I was tired of you messing with his emotions, treating him like some kind of sex toy.

A year after a heart attack,

Zende: Are you still considering telling rj?

Luna: Yeah, I mean, I think about it every day. Every second that I don’t say anything feels like a lie.

Zende: Try not to look at it like that.

Luna: I mean, it’s been so hard keeping this from rj. He’d feel so betrayed, zende. If he knew what you and I– even though it was a mistake, he’d still be crushed.

Zende: Yeah.

Luna: And look, I’m not doing this to protect myself. I’m– I’m doing it to protect you and your relationship with your cousin. I mean, you guys are like the next generation of forresters.

Zende: I appreciate that you’re concerned about me and rj. I am too. I don’t wanna hurt him either. But I’m also concerned about you. I can’t stop thinking about you, how you’re doing. And… I think a lot about that night together. Part of me is mortified. But another part… it’s no secret, luna. I’m crazy about you.

Ridge: Well, let’s face it. Hope and thomas, they’re in different stages of their lives. Thomas wanted to try something new, and she didn’T.

Brooke: She explained why she was hesitant.

Ridge: Yeah. Kids, divorce, all that stuff. Or maybe she didn’t think that thomas was marrying material.

Brooke: I’m starting to believe that she can’t forgive thomas for that baby beth debacle.

Ridge: Maybe. Who knows? At the end of the day, it really doesn’t matter. If you have to talk someone into loving you, then… it’s never gonna work. I mean, this part of their life, they should be ecstatic about where they are, who they are. They couldn’t keep their hands off each other. They– dizzy, right? Just loving each other all day.

Brooke: Is that how you feel– or felt– about me?

Ridge: Feel or felt? I feel this way now. I never stopped feeling that way. I’m– I’m dizzy myself. I can’t– you’re blurry to me. I can’t even see you. That’s how much I love you. It’s always been that way. I’m an expert. Having loved someone like you for so long, I know that if it’s not there in the beginning, it’s never gonna be there. Whether steffy’s gonna interfere or not.

Brooke: Well, she did interfere. She was really mean to my daughter.

Ridge: All right, let’s– let’s not do that. Let’s not blame steffy for everything.

Brooke: Ridge, how could I not? She has it out for hope. She even admitted it herself.

Ridge: She was protecting her brother. She was concerned about him. So was I. And I think taking his son and leaving is the best thing he could’ve done.

Brooke: How can you say that?

Ridge: How can I say that? He’s devastated. Your daughter broke his heart.

Hope: You are so wrong for that. What thomas and I share is more than just physical.

Steffy: I don’t believe you. You were really just in it for the high and the attention.

Hope: Well, I don’t really owe you an explanation, steffy, but you should know I do love your brother.

Steffy: Yeah, I think you were just pretending. You were stringing him along. I mean, you even wore his ring as a stupid necklace.

Hope: Okay, fun fact, that was thomas’ idea.

Steffy: Okay, hope, if you felt uncomfortable with it, then why wouldn’t you say something? Why wouldn’t you say, “hey, I don’t know, I don’t “think I wanna marry you.”

Hope: You weren’t there. You don’t know how I feel. And I was open to the possibility of heading down that road with him.

Steffy: Yeah, the possibility. Maybe, eventually. I personally think it was never gonna happen. You were just using him as some kind of, like, casual hook-up.

Hope: Mmm? [ Scoffs ] Are you, uh– are you really trying to shame me right now? I mean, steffy forrester, the morality police? Wow.

Steffy: If you were straight with thomas, if you wanted to have your fun, that would’ve been the honorable thing to do. But you didn’t do that. No, you wanted to play with his emotions, put him on a leash. Control him with sex, the same way your mother did with my father and my grandfather.

Hope: How dare you?

Steffy: Don’t even try it. (Vo) welcome to lobsterfest. Is your party ready?

Zende: I know that night didn’t go the way I thought it did. We can both agree it was a very weird situation.

Luna: Definitely.

Zende: I thought you were into me. I was happy about it. I thought that we were starting a relationship.

Luna: Yeah, I mean, that entire night was just– it was crazy. Like, how were you supposed to know that I had accidentally taken my mother’s special mints and mixing them with champagne would make me hallucinate?

[ Sighs ] Those damn mints.

Zende: Had I even known that you were remotely… I would not have let us do that.

Luna: I’m not mad at you, zende. I don’t blame you for this.

Zende: I’m glad about that. That you don’t blame me. But… do you ever think about me? I’m not trying to put you on the spot or anything, but… putting aside everything else, is there a part of you that thinks about us? That wonders whether we might be good together?

Brooke: I just wish thomas hadn’t run off like that.

Ridge: I’m gonna miss him too. But he had no choice. He had to go. Seeing hope every day would be too painful.

Brooke: Running away doesn’t solve any problems. And it only makes it worse for those that are left behind.

Hope: I don’t need to defend my character to you.

Steffy: The truth is, hope, you never valued thomas the way he deserves. That’s why he’s gone. Not because of me. Not because of anyone else. He is tired of proving himself to you.

Hope: You must be blind, steffy. How have you not seen how happy we are together? Are you really that selfish that you had to go and destroy your brother’s healthiest relationship that he has ever had? You just couldn’t help yourself, could you? Just spewing accusations about me. That, what, I’m– I’m a logan? Out to destroy a forrester man? Really?

Steffy: I don’t know. Would you?

[ Hope laughs ]

Hope: Wow, you really are unbelievable. Steffy, not everything is about you. This was not about us or our history. I’m not out to get– wh– what do you think it is? Revenge?

Steffy: I wouldn’t put it past you, hope.

Hope: You really are heartless. Thomas and I were working through things. And it took me a while to find forgiveness, to trust your brother again. And we were growing together, steffy. I haven’t forgotten the things that he has done to me in his past, and yet I gave him a chance. Because I love him. And we were building something together, steffy. For us. For hope for the future. For our families. And now we will never know what that future looks like because of you.

Steffy: Yeah, okay. Go ahead. Blame me. Okay.

Hope: Oh, I– I will. Because you know what, steffy? You are just a sad, human wrecking ball who had to go and destroy something beautiful that your brother and I were building together.

Reese’s eggs are back

Ridge: Thomas had no choice but to say goodbye.

Brooke: But to not give hope any say in the matter? Douglas is her son too. They have joint custody.

Ridge: I know. But he felt he had to go, and he now has the tools to deal with what he’s going through. And douglas, he asked his mom. He wanted to be with his dad.

Brooke: But hope adores that boy. She loves him as if he were her own.

Ridge: I know all that, and– and I’m sorry for her. It’s– it’s awful.

Brooke: It’s such a mess.

Ridge: I didn’t want it to end this way. Or not at all. If only hope could– I don’t– I don’t even know.

Brooke: Hope did the best she could do, ridge, under the circumstances. She wasn’t toying with thomas. She really does love him. She just wanted to wait till she was ready. And it– you would think that steffy being a wife and a mother would understand that and give some empathy to hope, but no. No, what does she do? She waited for that first opportunity to attack my daughter.

Steffy: You try to paint this picture of you and thomas like some great, big love story. And maybe thomas thought it was. But I know you didn’T.

Hope: You don’t know what’s in my heart, steffy, because you have never really made an effort to get to know me. You just always assumed the worst.

Steffy: Hope, all you did was give my brother false hope. He loved you. He would’ve given you everything. He would’ve given you the whole world. But you didn’t care. You know what? I don’t care about your feelings. I’m never gonna buy it.

Hope: Okay, well, ridge did. Oh, is that news to you? Your father was actually rooting for us. He even told me that he wanted me to be his daughter-in-law.

Steffy: Right. Okay, maybe my father fell for the whole logan propaganda, but I’m not. I see you for who you are. You’re disgusting. You’re trash. You really are. You just think about yourself. It’s all “me, me, me, and I just “wanna sleep with whoever “I want, and I don’t care.” Look at all the things that happened with you and liam. Liam told you not to mess with thomas, and you did. Why? Because you’re a pathetic little slut.

Hope: [ Gasps ] Oh! There it is. Are you trying to be stephanie now?

Steffy: Maybe I am.

Hope: Well, that was cute, but I’m not going to take the bait and stoop as low as you. Is your life really this sad and pathetic that you have to go and destroy something beautiful? And, oh, by the way, you did it to your own brother? And now thomas is leaving, and he is taking my son, and that is only because you turned them against me.

Steffy: Thomas was tired of the uncertainty. And I heard douglas was over it too.

Hope: Enough! I’ve had it. You’ve torn my life apart. Congratulations. But you’re only doing that because you are so unhappy in your own life. And now my relationship is over. My family is being split in half, and you are just standing here, reveling in it? The fact that you have destroyed your brother’s family. You’re smiling. And that is sick. Mark my words: You are going to regret this. And I don’t know how, and I don’t know when, but you’re gonna regret it.

Announcer: Here’s a look ahead.

Nikki: Sheila carter.

Eric: No longer a threat.

Deacon: I’m gonna be having a memorial service for sheila. Please try and stop by.

Liam: You don’t have to do it. Nobody else is gonna go to this thing.

Steffy: She shot us. How can you even consider going?

[ Dramatic music ]

Steffy: What, you think I was too harsh on brooke?

Ridge: Well, you certainly get your point across. I don’t like when you go after her like that. It doesn’t change anything. It doesn’t help anything. You’re going through some stuff, so I’m going to let that slide.

Steffy: One thing has nothing to do with the other. I don’t like how brooke’s defending hope’s behavior.

Ridge: Okay. And do you think you got through to thomas, about ending it with hope?

Steffy: Seemed like it. This whole situation’s ridiculous. Thomas.

Thomas: Well, it’s done.

Ridge: Done?

Thomas: I ended things with hope.

[ Door opens ]

Hope: Not now, I need a minute.

[ Door closes ] Mom, now is really not the best time.

Brooke: Hope, what happened? How can I help?

Hope: No, you can’T. You can’t help. You can’t help.

Brooke: Talk to me.

Hope: About what?

Brooke: About you and thomas.

Hope: Well, uh. You can breathe a sigh of relief, because this ring is never going to be on my finger. It’s over. Thomas left me.

Hope: I love him. I love him, mom, I– I really do.

Brooke: Sometimes, that isn’t enough, honey, if things just aren’t meant to be. I am shocked, though. I thought he was devoted to you. And he was so dead set on having a life with you for years now.

Hope: I thought I could count on him, too. I thought, uh, he was always going to be there for me, but, um… now he’s abandoning us and what we share. I… oh, I just– I couldn’t say yes. I couldn’t say yes. But, mom, I mean. I think you know that I wasn’t ready for marriage. I wasn’t ready for that again. I wanted him in my life, mom, I did. And that is not going to be a reality now, thanks to steffy. Yeah. Oh gosh, she’s just couldn’t help herself. I mean, she just kept hounding him. Attacking our relationship. I mean, thomas wouldn’t be doing this right now if it wasn’t for steffy. She poisoned him against me.

Marshalls buyers are detail

obsessed perfectionists.

Brooke: I’ve spoken to steffy, and I’ve got to say, I don’t disagree with you. She definitely stuck her nose in this situation. And she’s doing whatever she can to undermine your relationship with thomas.

Hope: Well, it worked. Thomas took the bait. God, she had no right to interfere.

Brooke: She claims that she’s being a protective sister.

Hope: Oh, bull. Mom, she played the forrester versus logan card. She attacked me. She attacked you. She attacked our entire family. And now she’s attacking my family with thomas and douglas.

Brooke: Douglas isn’t gonna take this well.

Hope: No, he’s going to be very upset when he finds out.

Douglas: Hey, donna said you were in here.

Hope: Oh, douglas, hi. Hi honey, I didn’t realize you were going to be here today.

Douglas: Yeah, dad called. He arranged it.

Hope: Okay, uh, um, actually that’s perfect timing because I think we have some things that we need to talk about. Mom, do you mind if you, uh…

Brooke: No, of course. I’ll give the two of you some space, okay.

Hope: Okay. Um, I’m going to reach out to your dad real fast ’cause i think this is a conversation that he needs to be a part of.

Douglas: I already know.

Hope: Know what?

Douglas: Dad told me. You turned down his proposal again. He’s not the only one who got his hopes up.

Ridge: It’s a big step, son.

Thomas: Big step, uh-huh. It’s– it’s a painful step, but it’s a necessary one.

Brooke: Hey, I thought you should know douglas is here.

Thomas: Good. He’s in with hope now?

Brooke: Yes. Look, thomas, I’m not sure you’re aware how devastated hope really is.

Steffy: Any devastation hope feels isn’t because of thomas. She’s facing the consequences of her own actions.

Brooke: The consequences of your interference, you mean. I know you two are in a lot of pain, so is this really necessary?

Thomas: It– seriously, brooke? What’s with the 180?

Brooke: What?

Thomas: Your daughter’s not ready to marry me. You got what you wanted.

Ridge: She didn’t want either one of you to be hurting like this.

Thomas: I’m not with hope anymore. That’s what she’s wanted for years.

Douglas: Why did you make it seem like we could be a family?

Hope: We are a family.

Douglas: Not really. Not if you don’t want to marry my dad.

Hope: Douglas, we’ve always been a family, and I’m not sure what your father has told you, but–

Douglas: You don’t wanna get married.

Hope: You know what? You’re right. I don’t wanna get married. Not yet. Not today. Marriage is a really, really big commitment, and I didn’t feel like I was ready for that yet. But that doesn’t mean that I won’t be ready in the future. And it doesn’t mean that I don’t love your father. And it certainly isn’t a reflection of how I feel about you.

Douglas: I know you love me, and I think you kind of love dad, too. Just not enough to marry, to make us a real family. Why? What’s wrong? Why aren’t we good enough? You don’t love us enough? – Look mom! – Wow!

Brooke: Despite what you think, thomas, this isn’t what I wanted at all. But you do remember, I– I warned you. When you first proposed, I told you, you might end up disappointed.

Ridge: Disappointed? It’s a little more than that. His whole world crashed around him.

Steffy: Yeah, because brooke’s daughter used him, and finally thomas came to his senses.

Thomas: Steffy, I appreciate you. I appreciate you trying to look after me, but I can’t have you attacking hope. Brooke, I love your daughter. I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. I wanted to provide for her and I wanted to protect her.
