Kelly: Yeah.
Taylor: Oh, it’s so good. Your mommy’s gonna love it, right?
Thomas: We did not have as much time as we wanted to prepare, but kelly really wanted to make something special for steffy. I, uh– I wasn’t sure that this was-
[ Hayes babbling ] Exactly, it wasn’t gonna happen. Uh, you know? I don’t know.
Taylor: I know. We’re so lucky that steffy’s coming back home.
Thomas: Hi.
Ridge: Okay.
Thomas: Uh-oh, I think I hear somebody. Are you guys excited to see your mom?
Kelly: Yeah!
Thomas: Yeah.
Ridge: Hello, hello. Special delivery.
Thomas: There she is!
Steffy: Hi, baby. Aw, I missed you so much.
Kelly: I made you a sign.
Steffy: You did? Aren’t you the sweetest little girl there ever was?
Kelly: I’m not little. I’m a big girl.
Steffy: Yes, you are. Gosh, you have grown so much since I’ve been gone. But I’m home now. Mommy’s home.
Liam: Beth is finally asleep. Three books later.
Hope: Only three? I think you got off easy there.
Liam: Yeah, well, I failed to disclose it was the same book over and over and over again.
Hope: Well, uh, douglas was thrilled to head to his sleepover. So, now we finally have some time to ourselves to–
Liam: Awesome.
Hope: — Decompress. I know, um, things have been pretty stressful for everyone, so…
Liam: Yeah, no, it’s been a– it’s been a rollercoaster. Although steffy’s being discharged, which is– which is really nice. So, that’s good.
Hope: Yes. It’s the best news we’ve gotten in a while.
Liam: Yeah. Bittersweet. I mean, with finn not being there when she gets home. I just– I just know that steffy is really, like, raw, both emotionally and physically. And I also don’t know how that’s going to affect kelly. And i just feel like I should really be there for all of them–
Hope: Liam. Liam.
Liam: — Tonight, just to preside over–
Hope: Liam.
Liam: Yeah.
Hope: Steffy knows how supportive you are. So, let them have their family moment tonight, and then you can see her in the morning.
Kelly: I made these for you.
Steffy: You did? Oh, my goodness. How do you know these– these are my favorite?
Taylor: You’re doing such a good job making your mommy feel special.
Thomas: So, uh, sis, can i get you anything? Like water, tea, lollipop?
Steffy: Lollipop, I’ll take you up on that later. I don’t think anyone wants a lollipop…
Kelly: Me!
Thomas: Okay. Round of lollipops coming up.
Ridge: Hey, you know you have to take it easy on your mom. She just got here.
Steffy: Don’t tell grandpa, but we’re gonna have a big dance party as soon as I can.
Ridge: Oh!
Taylor: Yes. Yes, we are. Because we have a lot to celebrate.
Thomas: Uh, kelly, do you want to show me where your mom “hides” the candy? Yeah? All right, come on.
Ridge: Come here, big guy. Come on, you’re coming with me.
[ Ridge making baby noises ]
[ Ridge and thomas chatting ]
Taylor: Hi, baby.
Steffy: How I do this, mom? How do I do this without finn? Is hayes ever gonna understand that his father’s never coming home?
Liam: I wish I could just shut the worrying off, but I can’t, so… I don’t know, I just hope steffy and the kids are okay.
[ Phone ringing ] Ha! Hey. I was just about to text you.
Kelly: Daddy.
Liam: Kelly? Hey, sweetheart. Is, uh– is mommy there?
Kelly: She’s home, daddy. Mommy’s home.
Liam: I know. I know. Isn’t that amazing? I bet you’re so, so, so, so happy. Does mommy know that you have her phone?
Kelly: No. I want you to be here, too. Please, daddy, can you come?
Liam: Um… yes, of– of course I’ll come. I’ll– I’ll see you soon. Okay. Bye, sweetheart. Uh, that was kelly. As you might have guessed.
Hope: Mm-hmm.
Liam: Um… she wanted me to come over to the house. And just given the circumstances, I know that you really wanted a quiet night together, but I can’t– I can’t say no to my daughter.
Hope: No, no. Of course not.
Liam: Okay. I’ll be home soon. I’ll check in. Okay?
Hope: Okay.
Liam: I love you. I love you.

Liam: Okay. Bye.
Hope: Bye.
[ Door shutting ]
[ Brooke chatting indistinctly ]
Brooke: Uh, honey. I just, uh, saw liam leaving. I thought you two were staying in tonight.
Hope: Yeah, I, um, thought so, too. But he went over to go be with steffy. Now glossy hair starts
Hope: Steffy survived a gunshot wound and she made it back to her kids. That’s huge. That is something to be celebrated.
Brooke: Yes, it’s a tremendous relief. We’re all very grateful that steffy’s on the mend.
Hope: Yeah. And I mean, I get ridge wanting to be there for his daughter to welcome her home and help get her settled in. I mean, I’m sure he probably threw her a party or something. It– it– I love that about him.
Brooke: Well, I love that about him, too.
Hope: But, you know, I also wish that maybe he weren’t staying in steffy’s guest house and maybe he could be staying at home with you–
Brooke: I have faith that that will change. And as far as you wanting liam to be home with you right now, don’t worry, honey. He will be back soon.
Hope: Mom, no, I know. I’m just– I know kelly will be overjoyed to see her dad and steffy will appreciate the visit.
Brooke: It’s gonna be an incredible homecoming. They’re all gonna be so happy that steffy is recovering.
Hope: Yeah. Steffy’s putting on such a– a brave face for those kids, you know, trying to stay strong. But I mean, all the while, there’s this dark cloud hanging above all our heads, which is this empty space that finn left behind.
Steffy’s: Finn’s gone. I just… it’s like he’s gone forever. I mean, it doesn’t make sense. Like, that’s it? That’s all you get? That’s it?
Taylor: It’s profoundly unfair. Finn should be here. Hayes should have his father.
[ Hayes giggling ]
Steffy: I can’t even imagine how scared finn was… in those last moments. I…
Taylor: No, no, I can’t imagine. Honey, I am gonna be here for you as– as– as much as i possibly can be. I promise you. But tonight, just– let’s– let’s focus on the good, okay? You’re– you’re home and you’re– you’re reunited with your kids.
Steffy: When do I say something?
Taylor: We will figure that out, baby. I promise you, but… not tonight.
Ridge: Hey.
Steffy: Hey, baby. Oh.
Kelly: I missed you, mommy.
Steffy: You have been such a courageous big sister. Thank you for taking care of your little brother. And thank you for rallying around the kids and me. I don’t think I would’ve been able to make it through without your love and encouragement.
[ Door opening ]
Kelly: Daddy!
Liam: Hey! Come here, kid. Oh! God, you’re getting big.
Steffy: Liam.
Liam: Hey. So, is– it’s okay I stopped by, yeah?
Ridge: Absolutely.
Steffy: I was just catching up.
Liam: Yeah. Well, this is nice to see for me. I mean, you on this couch with this kid, in this house, surrounded by all the people who love you and that you love. If you have type 2 diabetes or high blood pressure
Hope: Oh. Liam just texted and said that he is going to be a little longer at steffy’S. Oh.
Brooke: Really? It’s already kind of late.
Hope: I’m sure it’s fine. And he will call me on his way home.
Brooke: Well, I think it’s admirable that he wants to be there for steffy and kelly. That’s the kind of man he is. And I know he’s under a lot of stress because of the shooting. But still, you’re his wife.
Hope: Ah, mom. Look, I have come to accept the fact that steffy and liam are always going to be connected. They are. I accept that. It’s just…
[ Sighing ] Okay, fine.
Brooke: What?
Hope: Maybe I overheard something when I was at the hospital.
Brooke: Like what?
Hope: No, it’s nothing. It’s– he was probably just trying to be sweet and reassure steffy.
Brooke: Oh, okay. Something is making you very uncomfortable.

Thomas: Um, I– I– i honestly just came by to say goodnight to douglas.
Hope: Did you not get my text? He actually– he left for that sleepover at damien’S.
Thomas: I’ve been driving in the car. I haven’t–
Hope: I’m sorry. I feel bad you drove all this way for…
Thomas: That’s all right. It’s– I can just– I’ll see him in the morning. But I couldn’t help but overhear when I walked in. About what liam said to steffy. Look, I don’t want to sound like a jerk, but I’m not surprised. I mean, liam’s always gonna love steffy.
Liam: Storytime, check.
[ Sighing ] I got to tell you. You know, if somebody told me you were just discharged from a hospital, I don’t think I’d believe him. You look like you’re ready for a runway.
[ Ridge chuckling ]
Steffy: I feel like I’ve been hit by a semi.
Taylor: Your body is still healing, sweetie.
Steffy: I just wish I could have put hayes to bed. You know, it’s been so long.
Ridge: Well, you’ll get there one step at a time.
Steffy: It was really sweet of you to stop by. I wasn’t expecting that.
[ Liam laughing ]
Liam: Uh, confession. Uh, I think I got a little nudge from a certain someone. Our daughter stole your phone and called me to tell me to come over.
Steffy: Seriously?
Liam: Yeah. I– you know, she’s excited you’re home and I think she was feeling celebratory.
Steffy: I can’t believe that. What a stinker.
Taylor: Just like her mom.
Ridge: And her grandmother.
Steffy: Well, we have some strong genes in our bloodline.
Liam: Oof, that’s an understatement.
Steffy: Oh. I just wish I knew who did this to finn and to me.
Ridge: All right. Let’s– let’s just enjoy what we have. You’re home. You’re doing better. Kids are healthy.
Taylor: Yeah. We understand that you’re grieving, you’re experiencing every emotion in the book. You just– just need to be gentle with yourself.
Steffy: Trying.
Taylor: I know.
Steffy: And you need that, too. You need some rest.
Ridge: Rest, what? I’m all right.
Steffy: You’ve been up since I’ve been at the hospital. Seriously, you guys need to go to bed. I’ll see you in the morning.
Taylor: Are you sure?
Steffy: Yeah.
Taylor: Okay. All right, we’ll get some rest. I’ll just be upstairs if you need me.
Ridge: Oh, god.
Taylor: I love you.
Ridge: And I’ll be 30 feet that way, you know I’ll be. Goodnight.

Kelly: Seeing you and daddy is better than all of the kitties and puppies in the whole wide world.
Liam: Oh, my god. Yeah, it is, isn’t it? Oh, boy. From the very first touch.
Liam: Isn’t awesome that mommy’s home now? Is it the best?
Kelly: It’s the best.
Liam: It’s totally the best. Well, listen, um, it’s getting kind of late. It’s past your bedtime. I know that mommy’s tired. So, how about you and me, we go into your room and I’ll read you another story? Yeah? Cool.
Steffy: Come here. Give me one more hug before go. My baby. Oh, goodness, come here. I love you, sweetheart.
Liam: All right.
Steffy: I love you.
Liam: Kid, you come with me.
Steffy: Goodnight.
Liam: Night.
[ Door shutting ]
Hope: Still haven’t heard from liam in a while.
Thomas: Yeah, well. Liam is probably just busy with kelly.
Hope: No, it’s fine. I just– it’s late, and I thought he might be home by now.
Thomas: Look, I’m not trying to bring you down or anything, I’m just being realistic. Liam has always loved steffy.
Hope: Mm.
Thomas: You’re a very compassionate person, right? And you want to be very cool with all of this, right? But it doesn’t change the fact that he’s over there taking care of his ex and their child. Look, I– I’m just kind of worried about you. I don’t want to see you getting hurt. I also– I don’t want you to be in, um– in the same position that your mom is. With a man whose heart is split between two women.
Liam: Kelly is conked out.
Steffy: That’s good. I get the feeling this has affected her more than we realize.
Liam: Yeah, it has. But I think she’s gonna sleep pretty soundly tonight knowing her mom is right here in the other room. And you, look at you. You need rest. I think I might take off in a minute, okay?
Steffy: Please don’t go. I don’t want to be alone tonight. I have so many firsts ahead of me. First night without finn. First cup of coffee in the morning. The first time hayes calls out for his daddy.
Liam: It’s too much. It’s just too much. I wish you didn’t have to go through any of this.
Steffy: Like, I’m grateful to be back, but, like, all of the memories of finn. Like, oh, my god, I keep on thinking I hear his car pull up or he’s gonna walk through the door. But he’s not. He’s never coming back.
Liam: Oh, my god. I’m sorry–
Steffy: I’m never gonna have my husband here. My son’s never gonna have his father. Like, I just feel like I’m suffocating. Like my heart’s being ripped out of me. So, please, can you please– please don’t go. I don’t– I don’t want to be alone.
Liam: I won’t, okay. I won’t, I won’T. I won’T. Here’s the thing. Finn’s irreplaceable. There’s never gonna be another finn. But right now I think what you should try to focus on is all the people you have in your life that you get to lean on. And that includes me. I’m not kidding. I’m always gonna be there for kelly. And that means I’m always gonna be there for you, okay? I’ll always be there for you.
