Shawn joins JJ in the interrogation room at the police station and asks how it went with Gabi. JJ tells him to imagine the worst case scenario.

Melinda goes to the DiMera Enterprises office and comments on Gabi not being thrown out. Gabi questions what Melinda is doing there. Melinda guesses she heard that she got axed. Gabi confirms hearing that Xander threw her out of the building. Melinda explains that she threatened security with a lawsuit if they didn’t let her in to collect her things. Gabi informs Melinda that she may need to hire her which Melinda questions. Gabi then reveals that her detective boyfriend is accusing her of murder.

Rafe sits at home and opens his laptop as he pulls out the bugging device he planted in the DiMera Mansion. Rafe thinks back to when Leo informed he and Javi that EJ was shot. Rafe then recalls going back to the DiMera Mansion to retrieve the bugging device. Rafe then plugs in the device and plans to see what really happened that night.

Philip walks in to the town square and runs in to Vivian. Philip hopes she’s moving her things in to the Salem Inn but Vivian reveals that she just came back from DiMera Enterprises. Philip questions what she was doing there. Vivian claims she was admiring his office but warns him not to get used to it because his brother is a little upset with him. Philip questions what she did. Vivian responds that she told him what a fraud Philip is.

Sarah asks the portrait of Victor if she’s doing the right thing by keeping this from her husband. Xander then walks in and pours a drink. Sarah asks him what’s wrong. Xander responds that he doesn’t want to believe it, but he thinks he was just betrayed in the worst possible way. Sarah asks what happened. Xander responds that according to what he just learned, he’s been told a massive lie by someone he thought he could trust. Sarah questions what’s going on and who lied to him because he’s scaring her. Sarah asks who has him this upset. Xander responds that it’s his so called brother Philip, because Vivian just informed him that Philip has been screwing him over and lying to him for months.

Philip questions why Vivian would tell Xander that the letter is a forgery. Vivian responds that Philip needed to be reminded that she calls the shots. Philip argues that he told her it would take time to get her half of Victor’s fortune while Vivian says she told him to stop stalling. Philip argues that Vivian just screwed herself out of her own cut. Vivian says sometimes money isn’t everything. Vivian complains about everything she did for him and he couldn’t wait to cast her out. Philip points out that Vivian just confessed to a crime and questioned thinking she won’t face consequences. Vivian says that she’s the reason Xander knows about his scam and they know the only betrayal he will be worried about is his brother’s. Philip calls it a nightmare and asks what Xander said when she told him. Vivian explains that he didn’t believe it at first but then he realized what an amoral brother he has. Vivian declares that she believes Philip’s life as he knows it is over. Philip remarks that Vivian ruined everything and tells her that he can’t even look at her anymore. Philip calls Vivian a crazy bitch and storms off.

JJ tells Shawn that Gabi is furious at him. They joke about how nice it must be for detectives that don’t know everyone in town. Shawn says at least they know where they stand but JJ says not with each other. Shawn assumes that Gabi denied any involvement in EJ’s shooting. JJ responds that Gabi said a lot of things, but not that.

Melinda asks Gabi what gave JJ the idea that she shot EJ. Gabi flashes back to JJ bringing up the last time that Gabi pulled a gun on EJ. Gabi then tells Melinda that she doesn’t know and the cops are obviously desperate for suspects. Melinda points out that Gabi would have motive after what EJ did to Rafe. Gabi remarks that EJ did a lot of bad things to a lot of people. Melinda says she would ask if Gabi pulled the trigger, but if Gabi is hiring her as her lawyer then she’d prefer not to know one way or the other for her defense. Gabi responds that considering her own boyfriend might be coming after her, she needs representation so Melinda is hired.

Sami goes to Rafe’s house. Rafe says he didn’t expect to see her back. Sami says she came to say goodbye again. Rafe questions her really leaving. Sami says she saw EJ and his condition hasn’t changed while she had her hard talk with Johnny which she calls a good start. Sami mentions having lunch with Johnny and Chanel and they think he’s managed to find peace with what happened. Rafe says that’s great and he’s happy for her but also sad that she’s leaving. Sami remarks that there are so many reasons to say like everything happening with John and being there for Marlena while they still don’t know who shot EJ, but she has to get back to Italy. Sami jokes that she should go before she gets in to any Salem drama. Rafe agrees that Italy sounds really good right now. Sami reminds him that he has an open invitation. Rafe says not to tempt him. They agree it was great to see each other. Sami jokes that it’s pretty amazing that she came to town and didn’t cause any chaos but Rafe says about that.

Shawn tells JJ that law enforcement is messy when it gets personal. JJ says that’s what Gabi is so upset about since she told him that she went straight home the night of the shooting, but he reminded her that they ran in to each other in the town square so she accused him of using their personal relationship to interrogate her. Shawn asks if Gabi said why she left the house. JJ says she claimed she left her planner on the bench. Shawn asks if he believes her. JJ says he wants to. Shawn then gets a text that something came in on the tip line that’s worth checking out. Shawn tells JJ that he will let him know if it turns in to something real. Shawn adds that he knows Gabi is not the forgive and forget type, but assuming she’s not the shooter, he’s pretty sure she knows JJ is just doing his job. Shawn encourages JJ to hang in there as they will get the truth and hopefully Gabi will let this one slide. JJ thanks Shawn as he exits.

Melinda tells Gabi that she should go clean out her office before Philip and Xander release the wild dogs to chase her out. Gabi says she might be doing the same soon. Melinda says maybe not since she’s still here now so she might have avoided it. Gabi says right now the only way to keep her own company is to play nice with Philip and Xander. Gabi complains about how smug they were walking through the office. Melinda acknowledges that they did pull off a pretty big coup. Gabi argues that they just got lucky and caught Kristen while she was distracted. Gabi gives Philip and Xander getting along about five more minutes. Gabi says it’s like a ticking time bomb as it’s one thing to split the CEO job, but the more money, the bigger the explosion. Gabi tells Melinda that until then, she has a job as her defense attorney. Melinda advises Gabi not to talk to JJ and if he reaches out, she’ll get him off her back.

Xander tells Sarah that Vivian claims she wrote the letter, not Victor, and insisted Philip was in on it and that she helped him steal half his birth right. Sarah asks if Xander believes Vivian. Philip then comes home, so Xander asks if Vivian told him that she just gave him an earful about Philip conning him out of his inheritance. Philip confirms that she told him. Xander guesses he’s here to deny it. Philip responds that he’s not going to deny it as there’s no point. Xander asks if everything Vivian told him is true then. Philip confirms that Vivian forged the letter and he used it to take half of Xander’s inheritance. Philip tells Xander to go ahead and ask whatever else he wants to know, because he’s prepared to tell him everything. Philip explains that it was Vivian’s idea to forge the letter as she did that all on her own. Philip adds that he had been dead to the world, locked away alone in a mental institution and he had lost everything including his money, but when he recovered, Vivian offered him a chance to get back to life and matter again. Philip admits he started thinking Vivian was right that getting Titan was what he deserved, so he told himself that it’s what Victor would have wanted. Xander complains about Philip lying and committing fraud because he decided he deserved all of this and that he didn’t. Xander goes over Philip taking him to court and complains about he and Vivian stabbing him in the back. Philip states that it was their secret alone.

Rafe tells Sami that it turns out he was wrong as he went to see Jada this morning and she’s not still sleeping with Shawn. Sami brings up finding her blouse in Shawn’s apartment. Rafe says that she spent the night on his couch but apparently nothing happened between them, so it was just evidently the one time when she thought they were broken up. Sami jokes that he really jumped to the wrong conclusion. Rafe argues that there was a lot of evidence that helped him. Sami asks what he’s going to do now. Rafe says Jada is furious now. Sami doesn’t get why until Rafe reveals that he told Jada that he and Sami slept together.

Vivian goes to the bar and calls Ivan, saying she’s saying goodbye to Salem and coming home to her one true son, Stefan, who she says still appreciates her even though she forged his name on his divorce papers and drugged him to get rid of Gabi. Vivian says she’ll call him from the airport as Gabi then approaches her at the bar.

Melinda goes to see JJ in the interrogation room to inform him that she is representing Gabi, so if he has any other questions about EJ’s shooting, he can contact her directly. Melinda tells JJ that she won’t sit back and let him abuse his position of power to accuse an innocent woman of attempted murder. JJ argues that he didn’t accuse Gabi of anything but they can’t pretend she’s not a suspect, so he wouldn’t be doing his job if he didn’t interrogate her. Melinda warns him to make sure that she’s present the next time he questions Gabi. Shawn then returns and tells Melinda that he’s glad she’s there because they do have some questions for her. Shawn then presents a gun and asks if it belongs to her.

Sami asks Rafe if she taught him nothing and questions why he told Jada. Sami asks what he was thinking in not giving himself space and considering the consequences. Rafe admits it didn’t go well and that Jada was not forgiving and used the word “betrayal”. Sami understands Jada is upset but they both made mistakes, so they are kind of even. Rafe says that’s exactly what he said to her. Sami encourages him to keep talking to Jada to help her understand. Rafe says that he can’t because Jada doesn’t want to see him and said she needs space. Sami suggests he make a gesture like flowers and candy. Sami then decides he can make an apology video and she’ll help him. Rafe refuses but Sami insists so she begins recording him on his phone.

Gabi tells Vivian that she heard her name and asks what the hell she was saying about her. Vivian responds that she was just telling Ivan about the local gossip. Gabi thinks it was more than that. Gabi doesn’t know why she’s not still rotting in a jail cell, but warns that if she even thinks about coming after her for revenge, it won’t end well for her. Vivian responds that she’s not scared of her and she has no need to punish her because she’s already paid for what she did to her.

JJ asks where the gun came from. Shawn explains that the tip that came in was from a sanitation worker who found the gun in a trash can. Melinda asks what it has to do with her. Shawn reveals they ran the serial number and it’s registerred to Melinda Trask. Melinda claims not to know anything about that. Shawn says it’s very likely the gun was disposed of on the night of EJ’s shooting and asks why Melinda got rid of her gun that night. Melinda responds that she wasn’t the one who got rid of it, but she has a pretty good idea who did.

Xander recalls when Philip first showed up with the letter feeling like another knife in the gut from the family and he didn’t want to share any control of Titan with him. Xander says if it were up to him, he would’ve fought to the death before sharing Titan with Philip but Sarah convinced him and made him realize that the real way to honor Victor’s legacy was to work together. Xander admits that he realized he enjoyed working with him and he liked having someone to brainstorm ideas with. Xander says after all these years of disappointment, he had given up hope on having a good brother or that the family would accept him as a true son of Victor, but somehow, partnering with Philip made him finally feel like he belonged. Philip tells Xander that he does belong. Xander asks how he can say that to his face when he and Vivian have been laughing behind his back the entire time. Xander declares that Philip has proven that he’s not his brother or his family and he wants him the hell out of the house.

Rafe takes Sami’s phone and asks when she got so bad at this, arguing that a video apology is not a great idea as Jada doesn’t want to talk to him or see a video of him. Sami suggests if Jada needs time, Rafe should take the time too to decide if he wants to be with her and if he does, he should do whatever it takes to get Jada back. Rafe compliments that being good advice. Sami tells Rafe that he can always call her no matter the time zone. Sami tells Rafe that she’s so grateful for him. Sami says the trip was hard for her with the talk with Johnny, dealing with EJ, and John but she always feels better when she’s with Rafe. Sami wishes Rafe luck with everything and says he deserves to be happy as they hug. Sami reminds Rafe that the invitation to Italy is always there for him. Rafe tells her to have a good flight. Sami then exits.

Gabi asks Vivian how she’s already paid. Vivian says her son came to his senses and divorced Gabi while not giving her a second thought. Gabi asks if she’s done being a miserable bitch. Vivian tells Gabi that it’s been something seeing her and walks away.

Shawn questions Melinda who disposed of the gun. Melinda reveals that she recently loaned it someone, so she can only assume it was Ava Vitali. Shawn questions why. Melinda explains that Kristen’s mother had attacked Ava so she loaned her the gun for protection. JJ asks if she’s saying that Ava just dropped it in the garbage. Melinda calls it news to her but it’s the only explanation she can come up with. Melinda says she will leave them to run along and go question Ava. JJ points out that for someone who cared so much about Ava, she gave up her quickly. Melinda argues that it’s an attempted murder case so it’s every woman for herself and she wasn’t going down for a crime she didn’t commit. Shawn decides they will go question Ava then to see if the story checks out. JJ tells Melinda that in the meantime, she’s under arrest.

Xander asks Philip if he’s going to leave or if he should call the police. Philip says he will go but he has something to say first. Xander questions why he should listen to him. Philip asks for two minutes. Philip tells Xander that he’s right to hate him because he did take his inheritance, but he was never laughing at him. Philip says he lied and cheated to get what he thought he was owed but what he ended up getting was his family. Philip tells Xander that he liked working with him and he really surprised him. Philip says it’s how he always wanted to be with his brothers and he convinced himself he did the right thing because it brought them closer, but at the end of the day, there’s no excuse and Xander deserves better. Philip tells Xander that he is so sorry and walks out as Sarah hugs Xander.

Rafe goes back to his laptop to see what’s on his bugging device but Gabi comes home and interrupts him.

Melinda questions being under arrest, arguing that it’s not a crime to own a gun. JJ says that is unless the person is not qualified to carry one as Shawn adds that Ava is not after her recent stint in Bayview. JJ assumes Melinda knew that. Melinda wasn’t aware that Ava’s right to carry had been suspended and she doesn’t think she knew Ava was in Bayview. Melinda complains that she’s been focused on other things like being fired from DiMera because they falsely arrested Kristen. JJ argues that she still committed a crime. Melinda questions them seriously booking her for this when she cooperated with their questions. Shawn says they won’t book her yet, but tells her not to leave town. JJ warns Melinda that they’ll be keeping an eye on her. Melinda asks about Gabi and if they should expect to hear from them. JJ says they’ll be in touch as Melinda exits.

Sarah tells Xander that she’s so sorry. Xander responds that she’s not the one who lied to him.

Sami goes to the town square and calls Johnny, telling him that she will call when she lands. Sami hangs up and runs in to Vivian. They talk about it being a long time and how they are both waiting for a rideshare to the airport at the same time. Vivian and Sami realize they are on the same flight and sitting next to each other. Sami calls that amazing and says she can’t believe it. Vivian suggests they chat the whole time as they have so much to catch up on. Sami says she doesn’t even know where to start.

Update written by Joseph

Kayla sits at her desk in her office at the hospital and looks at a framed photo of her and Steve. Stephanie walks in with food and says she misses him too.

Steve goes to Marlena’s hotel room in Estonia. Steve tells Marlena that the ISA has been working through the night to try to decrypt the file they found. Marlena asks if they are closer to bringing John home.

Philip exits the Brady Pub and runs in to Alex. Philip tells Alex that he understands what he’s feeling. Alex promises that whatever he thinks he knows, it’s worse. Philip guesses Alex wishes he could be locked up which Alex says would be a start. Philip says he won’t defend what he did as he lied his way in to inheritance but it’s working out well. Alex argues that it’s working for him. Philip says it’s working for the whole family as they accomplished Victor’s dream of taking over DiMera. Philip states that Victor would be proud of them all which Alex questions.

Sarah enters the living room of the Kiriakis Mansion and asks if anyone’s home but no one answers. Sarah looks up at the portrait of Victor and says not to look at her like he never kept a secret from his family. Maggie then comes in and startles Sarah. Sarah comments on it being quiet in the house. Maggie informs her that she gave the staff the night off since it seems the trash took itself out which Sarah questions. Maggie clarifies that it looks like they have rid themselves of Vivian Alamain as she presents the letter she was left.

Xander finishes a call about new security measures, remarking that he can’t have just anyone wandering off the street in to his brand new office. Vivian then walks in to the office. Vivian remarks that one can never be too careful about who walks in to executive suites. Xander questions what she’s doing there. Vivian knows he’s going to have security throw her out, but she thinks he will want to hear what she has to say about his brother.

Steve tells Marlena that he’s sorry that the ISA have not been able to decrypt the file yet, but they do think they are close. Marlena complains about the nuclear bomb being out there and John being held hostage. Steve says he tried to get in to see Orpheus, but only his medical team have been allowed to see him since he was shot. Marlena argues that a psychiatrist could gain access to him.

Kayla asks if Stephanie just came to check on her and bring her lunch. Kayla questions what’s going on with her. Stephanie claims it’s nothing but then admits that she’s freaking out and needs her mom as Kayla hugs her.

Philip tells Alex that he thinks of all people, Victor would understand why he did what he did, pointing out that the ends are a big win for Titan. Philip says they only took over DiMera because he and Xander worked together. Alex blames it on what was going on with EJ and Kristen. Alex warns Philip that if the truth comes out, it will all come crashing down. Philip thanks Alex for not saying anything to Xander. Alex remarks that he didn’t do it for him, but to protect Xander.

Xander tells Vivian that he’s not in the mood for her games. Vivian says she’ll be quick, repeating that he will want to hear what she has to say. Vivian is sure he’s curious to know why Philip was so quick to invite her to stay in the mansion. Xander says he’s not curious but will never understand. Vivian informs Xander that she didn’t give Philip a choice.

Maggie tells Sarah that she’s so relieved that Vivian has left. Sarah questions if she said why she left. Maggie shows Sarah the letter that Vivian left and says she has no idea what it means and she doesn’t care, but she’s glad that Philip kicked her to the curb as she doesn’t know what possessed him to invite her to move in. Maggie doesn’t understand what kind of hold Vivian has on Philip. Sarah responds that she does.

Kayla asks Stephanie what it is. Stephanie explains that she found something out that she wasn’t supposed to know and she told someone else about it and now she’s forcing him to keep the secret too. Kayla guesses that’s Alex. Stephanie confirms that they are now both in this mess.

Philip didn’t realize Alex and Xander were so close. Alex feels he owes him one since he was duped by Theresa and now Philip wants him to see it happen all over again. Alex notes that Stephanie told him it was his call on whether or not to expose him. Philip asks what he decided. Alex informs him that he won’t say anything because their family has too much at stake now. Alex says that Titan has everything invested in the takeover so shaking up the corporate structure could put everything at risk. Philip insists that he’s making the right decision. Alex says they’ll see but warns that he won’t protect Philip forever, so there will come a day where it’s safe to tell Xander the truth about what he did and expose Philip for the lying con artist he is. Alex adds that whether Philip chooses to tell Xander first is up to him. Alex then walks away.

Maggie asks if Sarah knows something about what’s going on between Philip and Vivian. Sarah tells her to just forget she said anything. Maggie questions why Sarah said she knew why Philip is so loyal to Vivian. Sarah remarks that they are just alike and you can’t trust either of them. Maggie responds that Philip is not like Vivian as he is Victor’s son. Sarah clarifies that she’s not saying Philip isn’t part of the family or not to care about him, but brings up all the damage that he’s done and that she’s allowed him to do. Maggie questions what it is as she can tell Sarah looks like she has the weight of the world on her shoulders lately. Sarah tells her that she has no idea. Maggie insists that she can trust her. Sarah says she just doesn’t want to burden her with it. Maggie wants to help her and asks what has her upset. Sarah reveals that she’s keeping a huge secret from Xander that could change his life. Maggie asks what the secret is. Sarah reminds Maggie of the letter that Victor wrote, naming Philip as his heir, and reveals that it’s fake and that Philip forged it with Vivian’s help, leaving Maggie shocked.

Xander tells Vivian that he’s not surprised that she’s blackmailing Philip. Vivian calls it having leverage. Xander guesses she’s lording something over him and bets he knows what it is. Xander worries that Philip is still carrying on with Stephanie and making a fool of Alex again. Vivian tells Xander that he still doesn’t get it as that was a cover story for something worse. Vivian declares that Philip isn’t making a fool out of Alex, but out of Xander.

Steve and Marlena dress as medical staff to get in to see Orpheus in his hospital bed. Orpheus guesses they want his help in finding John, but questions why he would lift a finger. Marlena tells Orpheus that he’s free to help John or not, but she knows how much he loves his children and grandchildren. Orpheus asks what they have to do with this. Steve asks if he doesn’t think they would be affected by a rogue nuclear weapon being detonated somewhere. Marlena agrees that it will affect his family. Orpheus then says that he will tell them what they want to know, but he wants something in return. Steve refuses to cut a deal with him. Orpheus says he’s not seeking immunity, he just needs help for his son Christian who is having custody issues and he just wants his son to be able to see his kid. Orpheus feels a good word from Marlena could go a long way. Marlena agrees to write him a letter. Steve asks Orpheus what rosebud is. Orpheus reveals it’s the codename for a black market arms exchange across the border to sell the nuclear bomb. Orpheus warns that anyone willing to pay for that is willing to use it. Steve asks for the coordinates. Orpheus says his only contact was strictly through intermediaries. Marlena says they can start on the border. Steve calls it better than nothing and says they will go. Orpheus stops them and asks Marlena to promise to keep her word about helping his son. Marlena and Steve then exit.

Kayla says that obviously keeping this secret is tearing Stephanie apart. Stephanie points out that a lot of people could get hurt if the truth came out. Kayla asks if she’s protecting people. Stephanie says she could be making it worse and worries that her conscience is telling her that keeping the secret is hurting people, so Kayla encourages her to follow her conscience.

Maggie is shocked to learn of the forged letter as Sarah apologizes for keeping it from her. Maggie says she’s not the one who forged it, that was Philip and Vivian. Sarah explains that they wanted to take everything from Xander but luckily the judge only awarded Philip half of Titan. Maggie questions why Sarah kept it quiet that Philip has conned Xander out of half of his birth right. Sarah explains that she didn’t know until the judge gave Philip half of the company and when she found out, she was furious but she kept quiet because she was also afraid of what Xander might do to Philip if he found out. Sarah points out that Xander had already pulled a gun on Philip, so she was afraid that he would hurt his brother or worse if he found out and she couldn’t bear the thought of Xander being taken away from her and Victoria again when they just got a chance to finally be happy. Maggie calls it a terrible secret that she had to keep. Sarah adds that she saw Xander and Philip working together and finally getting along, so she convinced herself that Victor would be happy with his two sons as a team. Maggie asks if she’s second guessing herself. Sarah is not sure if she’s keeping the secret because she genuinely thinks it’s best for Xander or that she’s afraid to admit that she lied to him too. Maggie is sorry she had to go through this alone. Sarah guesses that Maggie will encourage her to tell Xander the truth, no matter what it costs her.

Xander asks Vivian what the hell she’s talking about and how Philip is making a fool out of him. Vivian asks if she really has to explain it and guesses that Xander must have been humiliated when he found out he had to share Titan with Philip. Xander argues that she’s behind on the times as Victor’s letter turned in to the best thing to happen to Titan. Xander admits he wasn’t thrilled at first, but he couldn’t be more pleased since they turned out to be a great team. Vivian calls their bond a lie. Xander says she’s just being cynical while he and Philip have never been closer and their bond is genuine. Vivian then reveals to Xander that Victor didn’t write the letter, she did.

Maggie sits with Sarah and says in most circumstances, she believes honesty is the best policy but what Sarah did was to keep Xander from self destructing. Maggie knows it was to protect her husband and family. Sarah thanks her for understanding. Maggie says there’s been a lot of chaos since Victor died. Sarah asks what she thinks Victor would have wanted. Maggie responds that Victor loved Philip and Xander in his own way, so the truth is that he would’ve wanted Philip in his will but he couldn’t give him anything without revealing that Philip was still alive. Sarah points out that now Xander and Philip are living in the house and running the company together as a team like true brothers. Maggie admits that not much put a smile on Victor’s face, but she thinks he would’ve liked this. Sarah asks even if it’s based on a lie. Maggie calls it impossible to say, but she can’t deny that a lot of good has come out of this lie. Maggie says she could argue that Sarah confessing to Xander would only make herself feel better by telling the truth and clearing her conscience. Maggie worries that it might destroy the family unity and her marriage as well.

Xander accuses Vivian of lying. Vivian assures that she forged the letter. Xander guesses that she wanted Philip to get the inheritance so she would profit as well. Xander doesn’t believe her and thinks Vivian is trying to screw with everyone like Theresa did. Vivian mocks him being in denial. Xander insists that he doesn’t believe a word out of her mouth. Vivian says he may not believe what he’s hearing, but he will believe what he sees as she writes Victor’s signature and shows it to him.

Steve and Marlena return to the hotel room in Estonia as Steve finishes a call with Andrew, catching him up on what they learned about the black market. Steve tells Marlena that Andrew thinks they are this close to breaking the encryption on the file. Steve then informs Marlena that he’s afraid this is the end of the road for them as that’s ISA orders. Marlena argues that they haven’t followed ISA orders since getting to Estonia. Steve says following leads on John was one thing but infiltrating black markets, they have to leave to the pros. Marlena argues that Steve is a pro but Steve says it’s an undercover operation and he can’t risk being recognized. Steve hates to admit he can’t do something and he wants to be the first man to find John, but they need to step back. Marlena questions going home and just waiting for the phone to ring in hopes that John will be alright. Marlena argues that all they have to do is bring John home. Marlena says she hates this, but she trusts Steve. Steve tells Marlena to pack her bag and he will charter them a flight back to Salem. Steve adds that he believes in his heart that Andrew will bring John home. Steve says he will get his things, call Kayla, and let Marlena know when he’s made their travel arrangements. Steve then exits the room. Marlena turns around and finds something on her bag.

Steve calls Kayla and tells her that they are coming home.

Marlena approaches the bag with a note that has her name on it.

Kayla asks Steve if they found John. Steve says not yet, but they found enough to let the ISA take it from here.

Marlena opens the note that says if she wants to see John alive, to come back and come alone.

Kayla cannot wait to have Steve back in her arms. Kayla says it must be killing him to have to come home before it’s over. Steve admits he’s disappointed to not be in charge of the operation but it’s not what is best for their family. Kayla admits she’s relieved as she wants John home but she also wants Steve back by her side. Steve says Marlena will need them more than ever. Kayla assures they will be there for her. Steve says he will let Kayla know when they are taking off. Kayla sends her love to Marlena and says she loves Steve as they hang up. After Steve walks away, Marlena then comes out of her room.

Alex and Stephanie meet in the town square and agree that they should keep the secret for now. Stephanie is surprised as Alex explains that he just ran in to Philip and he wanted to knock him out but he thinks it’s best for now if they keep it a secret. Stephanie worries about how it will make Alex feel but he assures he can handle it for now. Stephanie is sorry that she got Alex in to this mess as she thought it would be over when she first told Sarah.

Sarah admits to Maggie that telling Xander would clear her conscience but others would benefit too. Maggie asks if she means because Xander would get the whole company. Sarah says she means Alex and Stephanie because they are keeping the secret too. Sarah explains that she convinced them to keep it to themselves for the sake of the family, but Alex is furious and she’s pretty sure she ruined her relationship with Stephanie. Maggie is pretty sure Alex hates Philip now, but not as much as Xander would hate both if he found out. Sarah agrees that all the brotherly love would just go to Hell. Maggie wishes she could tell her what to do. Maggie assures that she loves her no matter what she decides as they hug.

Xander argues that Vivian’s signature proves nothing. Vivian then recites the letter to Xander. Xander thinks she’s just paraphrasing it. Vivian insists that she knows it by heart because she wrote many copies until she decided it was believable. Xander argues that this can’t be true but Vivian says he knows it is. Xander complains that it doesn’t make any sense and asks why Vivian would throw away the con by telling him. Vivian argues that she was supposed to get half the fortune, not Xander. Xander guesses that Philip didn’t keep up his end of the bargain. Vivian confirms that she wants Philip to lose everything. Xander threatens to call the cops to send her back to prison. Vivian asks why he would do that when it was Philip who stabbed him in the back. Vivian then walks out of the office.

Marlena goes back to see Orpheus, who guesses she got his note. Marlena asks what he wants. Orpheus responds that he wants to be honest with her because of their history. Orpheus reveals that what he told Steve about rosebud isn’t true as he made up the whole thing. Marlena says she’s not surprised. Orpheus says he’s sorry but he doesn’t trust Steve like he trusts Marlena. Marlena asks what is the truth then. Orpheus reveals that he knows where John is and he can take her to him, but all she has to do is get him out of here.

Alex tells Stephanie that with all the guilt he feels for keeping the truth, the less he sees Xander the better. Alex invites Stephanie to lunch instead of going to the office. Stephanie mentions that she had lunch with Kayla but she will go to keep him company. Stephanie and Alex then walk off together while Philip walks in to the town square and runs in to Vivian. Philip hopes she’s moving her things in to the Salem Inn but Vivian reveals that she just came back from DiMera Enterprises. Philip questions what she was doing there. Orpheus questions her not believing him. Steve then returns and tells Orpheus that it turns out they don’t need his lying ass anyway because the ISA decrypted the file they found. Orpheus accuses them of bluffing. Steve thinks back to Marlena showing him the note from Orpheus and talking about him thinking she would fall for it while they knew Orpheus was lying and that Rosebud was just a sled. Steve tells Marlena that the car is downstairs and they’re going home. Orpheus complains that they are making a mistake and if they don’t get him out, they’ll never see John again. Marlena responds that she has faith that she will see John again, but hopefully she will never see Orpheus again. Orpheus calls out to Marlena not to go but she exits with Steve.

Days Opinions For The Week Of April 14, 2025

Opinion Article

by Michele & Cheryl

Rafe from Days

There was some movement that happened on DOOL this week. Rafe had to deal with the fall out of his night with Sami and Xander got the shock of his life. Let’s get into what happened this week on DOOL.

Rafe and Sami ended up sleeping together. As Rafe and Sami fans, we would have loved to have seen them hook up with each other. Since Sami isn’t staying on the show, there’s no sense getting hopeful about them being together. With that said, Rafe sleeping with Sami came back to haunt him when he found out Jada didn’t sleep with Shawn again. He told Jada the truth, but she didn’t take it well. Rafe did the right thing telling her the truth, but he would have been better off keeping it to himself.

Speaking of Sami, we were surprised that she and Kate got along with each other. Longtime fans know Sami and Kate used to hate each other. It was nice to see them talking to each other civilly. Kate and Sami are cut from the same cloth, so it was good to see them on the same page for once. It’s too bad we won’t get to see them interacting with each other on a friendly basis, so we enjoyed what we got to see.

Vivian felt betrayed by Philip and Kate and ended up telling Xander the truth. We’re surprised Vivian told Xander the truth. We thought she would have dragged it out. The look on Xander’s face was priceless when he found out what Philip did. We thought it was going to take months for the truth to come out, yet it came out so easily. Leave it to Vivian to drop a bombshell on Xander and then leave town. It was a short visit, but Vivian did her thing.

Why was JJ so obsessed with Gabi being EJ’s shooter? You would think he wouldn’t want to accuse his girlfriend of being the shooter. Was he looking for ways to get out of being with Gabi? Accusing her of being the shooter was the great way to torpedo his relationship with her. JJ was already told that he shouldn’t have accused Gabi without proof, yet he did it anyway. It makes sense for him to think it was Gabi, but he should have treaded lightly before he flat out accused her.

Sarah proved that she’s a hypocrite. She opened up to Maggie about her secret. Sarah told Maggie that Philip schemed to get Titan. Predictably, Maggie sided with Sarah. It’s rich of Sarah to keep the secret from Xander. If Xander kept a secret from her, she would have been ready to dump him like a garbage bag. She even went the extra mile by questioning why she was keeping the secret from Xander. Sarah is the pillar of honesty when Xander messes up, but she was willing to keep him in the dark about what Philip did. Maggie isn’t any better. She advised Sarah not to say anything. Sarah and Maggie would have gone ballistic if Xander was the one keeping a secret like this.

Speaking of Sarah, she should be renamed Lucky because Philip chose not to sell her out to Xander. Philip could have told Xander that she knew about his plan to take Titan, but he chose not to say anything. Xander should have noticed how nervous Sarah was, but he didn’t. Sarah had no problem threatening Philip about telling Xander the truth, but when the chips were down, he chose not to say anything about her involvement. Would she have done the same thing if Xander found out about her role first? It’s a safe bet she would have sold him out in a heartbeat.

Best Lines by Michele and Cheryl

Xander: Vivian. My God, you’re out of prison.
Vivian: And you are so observant.
Xander: Well, you can take that acid tongue of yours and get the hell out of this house. What are you doing here anyway?
Vivian: Well, I think it’s rather obvious. I’m moving in.
Xander: You’re even more delusional than I thought.

(about Vivian moving in the Kiriakis mansion)
Xander: I don’t know who put this insane idea in your head, but I want to make something perfectly clear. The only way you’ll move into this house is over my dead body.
Vivian: Well, that could be arranged.

(about Vivian)
Kate: The woman is certifiably insane.
Roman: No argument there.

Philip: I know I should have asked you before I moved Vivian in here. I’m sorry about that.
Xander: Not as sorry as I am. But I suppose this house is half yours, at least according to the court. So, if you want to move this sadistic lowlife in here. It’s yours funeral.
Vivian: Gee, I feel so welcome.

Javi: Nice to meet you Sami. I’ve heard a lot about you.
Sami: Oh, I’m sure all of it is terrible.

(to Rafe and Sami)
Javi: I’m going to go to the kitchen and I’m going to stick my head in the waffle iron. I hear it’s like Botox. More painful but cheaper.

Kristen: You’re supposed to be my lawyer. Why haven’t you gotten me out of this?
Melinda: I’m your lawyer not a magician.

Maggie: That vampire spent the night in my home?
Vivian: Yes, in a very cheesy guest room.

Maggie: With all due respect Philip, this may be a very large house, but it’s not big enough for that psychopath and me.
Vivian: Well, it’s a good thing you’re already packed. There’s the door.

Philip: Mom, I have good news about Vivian.
Kate: Well, that’s impossible unless she’s pushing up daisies.

Recap written by Michele and Cheryl

At the police station, JJ looked at Gabi’s file. Shawn showed up and asked how things went with Gabi. JJ said it went badly, but she didn’t deny shooting EJ. He said she didn’t have an alibi, lied about leaving the house, and then gave a weak excuse. While they were talking, Shawn got an alert from the tip line and left to check it out. Melinda went in Gabi’s office to get her things. Gabi said she might need her services because JJ accused her of shooting EJ. Melinda wondered why JJ would excuse her of shooting EJ. When Gabi said she didn’t know, Melinda said she had a motive. Since Melinda was her lawyer, she didn’t want Gabi to tell her if she shot EJ. They talked about Philip and Xander. Melinda said she was impressed with what they did. Gabi said things were going to come crashing down for them. Melinda warned Gabi not to talk to JJ. Later on, she went to the police station to let JJ know she was representing Gabi. She warned him not to talk to Gabi unless she was there. Shawn showed up with a gun in a bag and asked if it belonged to Melinda. He said it was found in the garbage. Melinda admitted that it was her gun, but she didn’t throw it out. She said she gave the gun to Ava because she needed protection from Kristen and her mother. When Melinda was about to leave, JJ stopped her so he could arrest her.

Sami went to see Rafe so she could tell him goodbye. She said she did what she came home to do. Rafe said he was happy for her but sad to see her leave. She said she would leave before she caused trouble. He told her that Jada said she didn’t sleep with Shawn again. Sami didn’t understand why Jada was upset until he told her he confessed to sleeping with her. She was surprised that he told her the truth but thought they were even. Rafe said he was going to give Jada space. Sami suggested that he do an apology video, but he didn’t want to do it. She told him to take time to think about what he wants and what he will do to get it. Rafe thanked her for the advice. Sami said she was grateful that he helped her get through the stressful trip. They hugged and said goodbye. Vivian and Philip ran into each other at the town square. She said she told Xander the truth. Vivian told him that she called the shots. Philip said he wouldn’t have the money to give her now that the secret was out. Vivian said self respect was more important than money. She said his life was over. Philip yelled at her before he walked off. When Vivian was making plans with Ivan to leave Salem, she ran into Gabi. She warned Vivian that she would regret it if she tried something. Vivian said Gabi paid for what she did to her. She said her son came to his senses and didn’t give her a second thought before she walked away from Gabi. Xander told Sarah that Philip lied to him. While Xander was talking to Sarah, Philip walked in. Xander said Vivian told him everything. Philip said he wasn’t going to deny it. He told Xander that Vivian told him the truth. Philip said it was Vivian’s idea to do it. He said she gave him something after he lost everything. Philip said he convinced himself that it was what Victor would have wanted. Xander yelled at him and wanted to know who else was involved. Philip said no one else was involved. Xander told him that he stole the company that he wouldn’t have shared if it wasn’t for Sarah. He said it meant a lot to him that they came together and as family. Xander said he felt like he belonged. Philip said he did belong in the family. Xander said Philip wasn’t his brother and demanded that he get out of the house. Philip said he would leave but wanted to say something. He said he liked working with Xander and never laughed at him. Before he left, Philip apologized. Melinda told Shawn and JJ that it wasn’t a crime to have a gun. They told her that Ava was convicted not too long ago and her right to carry a gun was suspended. Melinda said she didn’t know that. She agreed to cooperate with them and wondered if she was going to get arrested. They let her know that she wasn’t, but they would keep an eye on her.

Days of Our Lives Update

Days of Our Lives logo

Update written by Joseph

Philip is at the Kiriakis Mansion, on the phone with Melinda Trask. Philip tells her that he is backing Xander in his decision to fire her. When Melinda threatens to sue, Philip warns that they would countersue and hangs up. Maggie then comes home and comments that she missed a lot while she was out of town. Philip guesses she heard about Titan taking over DiMera. Maggie confirms that it was all over the news. Maggie congratulates Philip and tells him that Victor would be so proud as she hugs him.

At the DiMera office, Kristen questions what the hell Xander is trying to pull here and how he managed to take over DiMera. Xander calls it a no brainer with Kristen in custody and EJ in a coma, so they saw it as a window of opportunity and seized it. Kristen responds that she has a window of opportunity too as she pulls her gun on Xander. Xander asks what the hell she’s doing. Kristen responds that she was just released from police custody because the bullet out of EJ didn’t match this gun, but it’s not too late to put the gun to good use.

At the police station, JJ informs Gabi that there’s now one fewer suspect as Kristen has been cleared which surprises Gabi. JJ says that means they have to start looking at other suspects. Gabi questions what she’s doing here then. JJ then reveals that she’s one of the suspects. Gabi asks who says and then questions if JJ thinks she shot EJ.

AT the Brady Pub, Kate calls Lucas and tells him that he can come out in the world again because EJ was shot. Kate adds that if EJ dies, Lucas would be safe. Kate assures that she did not shoot EJ and tells Lucas that she will see him soon as she hangs up. Sami then appears as she and Kate get an argument over Lucas kidnapping her. Kate insists that Lucas still feels terrible about it. Sami says she feels terrible about things too like choosing the wrong men. Sami asks about things going well between Roman and Kate. Kate responds that Roman showed her what love is supposed to be. Sami says that she’s happy for them but jokes that if she hurts him, she’ll have to kill her. Kate says not if she shoots her first which Sami laughs at.

Rafe meets Jada at Small Bar. Jada is surprised that he came and says she knows how upset he still is over what happened between her and Shawn. Rafe responds that it’s not just that, but that she’s still sleeping with Shawn. Jada asks what he’s talking about. Rafe informs her that he stopped by Shawn’s house last night. Jada says that Shawn told her they were talking things out and then he left. Rafe reveals that he left because he found Jada’s blouse that she was wearing the night before. Rafe asks if he should have stayed and gotten in the middle of their affair. Jada tells Rafe that he’s got this all wrong.

Gabi tells JJ that he couldn’t be more wrong and asks why the hell he would think she shot EJ. JJ reminds her that she almost did it once before when she burst in with Rafe’s weapon. JJ feels it was only him that stopped her from shooting EJ right then and asks if she can deny that.

Xander argues that Kristen won’t shoot him. Kristen asks how he can be so sure. Kristen complains about how hard she worked to claw her way to the top of DiMera and how she fought them all until she won, only to be unseated by her former incompetent henchman. Kristen declares that she can’t stand this and she won’t. Xander says they can talk it out. Kristen tells him that he’s going to listen because the only way he’s not going to die right now is to do exactly as she says.

Maggie tells Philip that she knows he and Xander had big plans for Titan but this is an achievement to take over DiMera. Maggie thinks they should all go out to lunch and celebrate if he’s not too busy running the world. Philip says there is something she needs to know first as Vivian then comes in, asking what’s for breakfast.

Kate tells Sami that there was a long line of men who treated her very poorly, so she completely understands as they sit together. Sami assures that she is really happy for her and Roman. Kate thanks her and says they feel really badly that they are the ones who revealed the truth about Johnny’s conception. Sami believes the truth needed to come out so she’s not mad at either of them. Kate asks if she’s sure since she didn’t want to have dinner with them and didn’t come back to the Pub last night. Sami assures that had nothing to do with her. Kate asks if Sami stayed with Marlena then. Sami then reveals that she stayed with Rafe.

Rafe asks Jada not to lie to him. Jada assures that she’s not lying to him. Jada says that Rafe made it very clear that he did not want her going home with him, so she came to the bar and got pretty wasted while Shawn just happened to find her to tell her about EJ’s shooting. Jada admits she was in no condition to drive, so Shawn suggested she sleep it off. Rafe mocks the idea of Shawn escorting her back to his place. Jada says it was too late to call Stephanie, so she ended up crashing on Shawn’s couch but nothing happened after that one night with him when she thought Rafe left her at the altar. Jada asks if Rafe believes that she’s telling the truth.

Gabi tells JJ that when she went to EJ’s house with Rafe’s gun, she was just desperate to find Rafe and EJ had the answers she needed. Gabi asks what she would have gained from shooting EJ then or now. JJ thinks it would’ve been revenge for what EJ did to Rafe and all of the other horrible things he did to hurt her, like causing her marriage with Stefan to fall apart. Gabi shouts that this is crazy and he knows it. Gabi complains that if he hauled in every person to ever hold a grudge against EJ or pointed a gun at him, he’d be there until Hell freezes over. Gabi reminds JJ that she went to prison for a crime she did not commit more than once. Gabi questions if he really thinks she’d be stupid enough to get sent back there. JJ tells Gabi to just answer one question and they will be done. JJ then asks if she has an alibi for the night EJ was shot.

Xander asks Kristen what she wants him to do. Kristen orders him to pick up the phone to call Wei Shin and tell him that he changed his mind about taking over DiMera and he wants to put her back in charge, effective immediately. Xander picks up the phone but puts it back down and refuses to make that call.

Maggie asks what the hell Vivian is doing there. Maggie guesses she broke out of prison but Philip informs her that she’s out on parole. Maggie questions him knowing that she was there. Vivian adds that Philip invited her to stay. Philip apologizes and says she wouldn’t take no for an answer. Maggie questions Vivian spending the night in her home. Maggie tells Philip that it may be a very large house but it’s not big enough for her and Vivian. Vivian tells Maggie there’s the door. Maggie says she’s not going anywhere but upstairs and warns that Vivian better be gone by the time she comes back. Maggie then exits.

Gabi tells JJ that she had a long day at the office and then she went home. JJ asks if she’s sure she didn’t go anywhere else. Gabi responds that she is and questions why he’s looking at her like that. JJ then reveals that on the night of the shooting, he stopped by her house to see her and knocked on the door but no one was there. Gabi says she must have been asleep. JJ says she wasn’t, so Gabi asks if he’s calling her a liar. JJ tells her that he’s sorry, but he is.

Rafe questions Jada telling him that she just crashed at Shawn’s house and nothing happened. Jada confirms that’s exactly what she’s telling him. Rafe tells Jada that he believes her. Rafe brings up that Shawn never told him that she spent the night. Jada explains that Shawn was afraid he would be upset. Rafe still wishes he would have because he just told him that they were only together the one time and then he found her blouse, so naturally he thought Shawn was lying. Rafe wishes he would’ve stayed to confront him instead of jumping to the wrong conclusion.

Kate questions Sami spending the night at Rafe’s. Sami explains that she went to thank him for speaking with Johnny and helping him understand the situation. Kate thinks it’s wonderful that Johnny has someone like Rafe in his life and calls him one of the good guys. Kate thinks it’s nice that Sami and Rafe are still friends so she can lean on him in times like this. Sami agrees that it’s really nice to have a friend like Rafe.

Vivian doesn’t understand how Philip puts up with Maggie and calls her so rude. Vivian declares that she’s not going anywhere unless Philip wants to be out on his ass. Philip guesses she’s going to threaten to take Titan away from him. Vivian says she would never do that as long as she gets her share when Kate murders Xander.

Kristen questions Xander saying no to her and threatens to send him to Hell. Xander asks if she really wants to go back to prison. Kristen argues that she has nothing left to lose as she lost her job, her mother, and Brady. Xander brings up her daughter Rachel and asks if she really wants to risk losing her when she’s already lost so much time with her already. Kristen blames that on his lies. Xander tells Kristen that she can’t let her down. Xander says he didn’t grow up in a home with a loving mother, but Rachel has that and deserves to keep it. Kristen agrees that he’s right and lowers her gun.

JJ reminds Gabi that he ran in to her that night in the town square. Gabi says she remembers that. JJ points out that means she did leave the house and asks where she went. Gabi thinks back to being outside the DiMera Mansion with a gun. Gabi claims to JJ that she was home getting ready for bed when she remembered that she left her planner in the town square and that’s when she ran in to him. Gabi insists that she went right back home and went to bed. Gabi argues that every piece of evidence that JJ is trying to use against her is based on knowledge of their personal relationship. Gabi asks if JJ made a personal statement and if the other cops know he brought in his most recent conquest for questioning. JJ responds that he hates this but it’s his job and the truth is that she had motive, opportunity, access to a weapon, and she doesn’t have an alibi. JJ tells Gabi that he’s sorry but it doesn’t look good.

Xander tells Kristen to get the hell out before he calls the cops. Kristen argues that they can negotitate. Kristen says she knows the company and he wants the takeover to be successful. Kristen argues that Wei Shin has no business running DiMera but she does. Kristen says they can work their magic on the Titan side while she continues to run the successful operations at DiMera and it would be a mutually beneficial partnership. Kristen argues that Xander knows they would be better together.

Philip tells Vivian that she will get her half of his half as they discussed. Vivian argues that she never agreed to half of half but half of the fortune. Philip says Belle did her best for him in court but that ship sailed. Philip says she’s only been out of prison for a couple of days, so he can’t just snap his fingers as he has to liquidate accounts and the takeover complicates that. Vivian accuses him of making excuses. Philip tells Vivian that no one is going to be killing Xander, so Vivian guesses she will have to blow open the whole scam. Philip argues that she wouldn’t because if she tells anyone about the forgery, she’ll get nothing and go down for fraud so he doesn’t think she wants to go back to prison. Vivian asks if he’s threatening her. Philip says he’s just saying that she’s not the one calling the shots here. Vivian argues that this whole thing was her idea and accuses him of trying to freeze her out now. Philip swears that he’s not and asks to be patient a little longer. Vivian complains that patience is not her strong suit.

Rafe tells Jada that he’s sorry as now he’s the one asking for understanding. Jada says he’s scaring her and asks what he needs understanding for. Rafe informs Jada that after he left Shawn’s last night, he went home and Sami was at his door. Jada questions Sami being in town. Rafe explains that she came to thank him for helping put in a good word for her with Johnny and calls it a long story. Jada asks what any of this has to do with her. Rafe explains that Sami was in a bad place and he was too. Rafe then admits that he and Sami slept together.

Kate tells Sami that she’s not jumping to conclusions about what did or didn’t happen between her and Rafe last night, but reminds her about Jada. Sami says she heard about Jada but she wouldn’t put money on that engagement working out. Kate knew they were having problems because of the Arnold debacle but she thought they were working through it. Sami says that’s not what she observed as Rafe went ballistic when he found out that Jada slept with Shawn. Kate didn’t know but says she’s not going to tell anyone. Kate wonders if Rafe knew about that before or after EJ was shot. Sami asks why that matters and questions if Kate thinks Rafe shot EJ. Kate says after what EJ did to Rafe and Jada. Kate knows if EJ hurt one of her loved ones, she would make sure he paid. Sami argues that she can’t seriously think that Rafe shot EJ. Kate says it doesn’t matter now since Kristen is under suspicion since they found a gun in her purse and were testing the bullet. Sami hopes it is a match and brings up how upset Johnny was at EJ so it got her thinking. Sami says Rafe assured her against it but she wonders if Johnny could’ve been the one to shoot EJ. Kate agrees with Rafe that Johnny was very angry at EJ, but she does not think he would go to that extreme so she does not think Johnny is the guilty party.

Jada questions Rafe sleeping with Sami. Rafe explains that he thought Jada was sleeping with Shawn. Jada says she wasn’t. Rafe says he knows that now and he’s so sorry. Rafe calls it a huge misunderstanding. Jada compares it to when she thought he was cheating on her and he said he could never forgive her. Rafe says he was angry in the moment but he’s been talking to Gabi and Javi and he’s starting to come around. Jada complains that he decided off a t-shirt that she’s just a lying, cheating slut. Rafe argues that she and Shawn have history. Rafe tells Jada that he loves her and he’s so sorry about what happened with Sami. Rafe knows Jada is sorry about what happened with Shawn and neither one of them meant to. Jada questions Rafe wanting to just move on. Jada says she told Rafe that she and Shawn were together one time and she didn’t want him because she loved Rafe and only Rafe. Jada says she told him the truth but he still went and thought the worst of her. Jada questions how to forgive that after the way he betrayed her and how they move on from this.

Vivian tells Philip that she’s been patient long enough. Philip promises it will only be a short while more. Philip says he’s not ungrateful for her and when he has the funds to do it, he’ll buy her a mansion in Salem. Vivian questions him throwing her out. Philip says it’s for the best and offers to drive her to the Salem Inn but Vivian rejects him and declares she’ll get there on her own and storms out.

Xander questions Kristen wanting to be business partner. Kristen says the pros outweight the cons for both of them. Xander remarks that he wouldn’t get in bed with a snake like her. Kristen reminds him that Sarah would still be paralyzed if it wasn’t for her. Xander argues that she only relented because Brady forced her too. Kristen argues that no one forces her to do anything and says it was the right thing to do. Xander tells Kristen that he does not want to be her business partner. Kristen warns that they are enemies now and vows to wrestle DiMera back from him and take Titan too, leaving Xander and Philip as the ones winding up with nothing. Xander says they will see about that. Xander hands Kristen her old CEO nameplate and tells her to throw it in the trash on her way out as he demands she get out. Kristen then exits the office.

Rafe argues that Jada thought the worst of him when she thought he was some evil bastard out to ruin her life. Jada complains that Gabi and Javi thought that too since Arnold had his face and voice. Jada says everyone who knew Rafe thought Arnold was him when he said he didn’t love her anymore. Jada complains that Rafe just found a damn blouse. Jada declares that Rafe wanted his space and now she needs her space as she then storms out of the bar.

Sami walks through the town square on a phone call with Marlena. Sami knows she will find John and bring him home safe. Sami says she loves her too and hangs up. Sami then runs in to Kristen, surprised to see she is free. Kristen questions how long Sami is in town for. Sami calls it a short visit and thought Kristen was being held for suspicion. Kristen reveals that the bullet didn’t match her gun and assures that she did not shoot her brother. Kristen adds that her money is on Gabi.

Gabi tells JJ that what doesn’t look good is that the man she’s dating is treating her like a common criminal. Gabi thought he was supposed to be protecting her, that he cared about her, and that she could trust him. JJ argues that this has nothing to do with their personal relationship as it’s just business. Gabi tells JJ that she gets that he has a job to do but if he has anything more to say to her, he can say it through her lawyer because she’s done talking to him and she has nothing more to say to him. Gabi then storms out of the interrogation room.

Maggie returns to the living room and finds a note written by Vivian, saying farewell to Maggie and that Philip made her realize there was only one thing for her to do. Maggie then trashes the letter.

Philiip goes to the Brady Pub and tells Kate that he has good news about Vivian which Kate calls impossible. Philip informs her that Vivian is headed to the Salem Inn because she realized she could end up with nothing, but they are going to have to stop stalling and pay her. Kate wishes that would make her go away. Philip wants to stay positive and says everything is going to be fine.

Xander finishes a call about new security measures, remarking that he can’t have just anyone wandering off the street in to his brand new office. Vivian then walks in to the office.

Interview with Rico Rodriguez

TV Interview!

Rico Rodriguez of the animated movie "Sneaks," out in theaters April 28, 2025.

Interview with Rico Rodriguez of the movie “Sneaks” by Suzanne 4/14/25

I enjoyed this fun animated movie, and it was great to speak to Rico, who plays the sneaker name “Ice” in one memorable segment. You may remember that Rico played young Manny on “Modern Family,” where he grew up before our eyes.  Sneakers (AKA tennis shoes, kicks, gym shoes, running shoes, etc.) have been very popular (particularly in the black community) with the advent of hip-hop music and celebrity endorsements by Michael Jordan and others, since the late 80s.  This movie taps into those emotions and culture with its wonderful story and music. I think everyone should enjoy it because it has clever dialogue and well-crafted characters. It also boasts an all-star cast, including Anthony Mackie, Martin Lawrence, Laurence Fishburne, Keith David, Chloe Bailey and Macy Gray. It premieres tomorrow, April 18th in theaters nationwide.

Recap written by Michele and Cheryl

Steve let Marlena know that the ISA didn’t decrypt the file she found. They don’t know what Rosebud meant yet. The two of them talked about not being able to get access to Orpheus. When Marlena found out he had a medical team, she came up with a plan. Marlena and Steve dressed up like doctors and went in Orpheus’ room. They pretended to be his doctors. While they were talking to Orpheus, he agreed to help. He wanted his son to be able to see his child. Marlena said she would write a letter so Christian could see his son. Orpheus told them Rosebud was a codename for a black market arms exchange in Latvia. He said he didn’t have the coordinates. Marlena promised to help Christian before she and Steve left. Steve let Andrew know what he and Marlena found out. He told Marlena that the ISA wanted them to stay out of it because they had to handle the arms exchange. An upset Marlena said she couldn’t sit around and do nothing. She said she trusted him and was going pack while he booked the flights back to Salem. Steve called Kayla to tell her he was coming home. Marlena saw a note on her bag telling her to come back alone if she wanted to see John alive. She slipped out of the room. Philip and Alex ran into each other. Alex tried to ignore him, but Philip said he did something wrong but it was working out. He said Victor would be proud. Alex didn’t think he would be proud since everything was built on a lie. He said Philip’s lie was going to have a ripple effect when it came out. Alex said he was only going along with it because of Xander, but he was going to tell him the truth when the time was right.

Sarah and Maggie talked about Vivian. Maggie showed Sarah the note Vivian left and was glad Philip threw her out. She didn’t understand the hold Vivian had on Philip. Sarah said she knew. She told Maggie that she was keeping a secret from Xander that could change his life. Sarah told Maggie about the forged letter. A shocked Maggie said it wasn’t her fault but wondered why she was keeping the secret. Sarah said she didn’t find out until it was too late. When she did find out, she was afraid of what Xander would do to Philip. Sarah wondered if she was keeping the secret to keep Xander from hurting Philip or to keep him from finding out she lied to him. Maggie said Sarah did what she did out of love and worry for Xander. Sarah wondered what Victor would have wanted. Maggie said Victor loved his sons and would have wanted Philip in the will. She told Sarah Victor would have wanted this. They talked about the lie only making Sarah feel better. When Maggie found out Stephanie and Alex knew the truth, she told Sarah not to tell Xander. Vivian went to Xander’s office with news about his brother. She said she wanted to tell him why Philip wanted her to stay at the mansion. Xander said she was blackmailing Philip and knew why she was doing it. He asked if Philip was still seeing Stephanie. Vivian said that was a cover story. She said Philip wasn’t making a fool out of Alex. He was making a fool out of him. Vivian brought up the fact that they are sharing Titan to which Xander said things were working out because they have never been closer. She said their bond was a lie. Vivian said she wrote the letter, not Victor. Xander didn’t believe her and thought she was doing what Theresa did. Vivian proved it to him writing Victor’s name down. He still didn’t believe her until she started saying what was in the letter. Xander didn’t understand what was going on. Vivian said Philip didn’t keep his end of the deal, so she wanted him to suffer. Before Vivian left, she said she forged the letter, but Philip stabbed him in the back. Philip ran into Vivian in the town square. She told him Xander knew the truth and warned him that Xander was upset. While Sarah was talking to Victor’s portrait, Xander came in and said he was betrayed. Marlena went back to Orpheus’ room. Orpheus said he lied about Rosebud to Steve because he only trusted her. Orpheus said he knew where John was and would take her to him. He said he wanted her to get him out of the hospital. Marlena refused to get him out and said they knew he was lying. Steve walked in and said he wasn’t needed because the ISA decrypted the file. There was a flashback of Marlena showing Steve the note. Steve told her the ISA said the arms market was in Minsk. Orpheus said it was wrong and he was their only chance of seeing John. They walked out of his room.

Interview with Titus Welliver

TV Interview!

Titus Welliver, star of "Bosch: Legacy" on Prime Video. Photo from his Instagram.

Interview with Titus Welliver of “Bosch: Legacy” on Prime Video by Suzanne 4/10/25

“Bosch” and “Bosch: Legacy” are wonderful shows that I’ve always loved. I read the books about Harry Bosch (by Michael Connelly) years ago and devoured them. They did an excellent job of transferring the stories from the books to the TV, and they couldn’t have done any better than Titus Welliver for playing Bosch. Everyone who’s connected to the show or watches it regularly is sad that the show is ending. It’s such a shame because there are more Bosch stories to tell.

This is a roundtable interview, which means there are 5 of us on the interview. We each had at least 2 questions for Titus, and he answered them in great detail. I’m very honored to have been included. He’s an amazing actor, and not just because of his work with “Bosch.”   The series finale for “Bosch: Legacy” airs today. It’s two episodes that not only finish the series but introduce Maggie Q, who will star as Rene Ballard in the new spinoff series “Ballard.”

Unfortunately, Bosch will only make a couple of cameos in the new series. Please enjoy this video roundtable interview and the series finale!

Titus Welliver is a veteran of film, television, and theater. The son of a famous landscape artist Neil Welliver and fashion illustrator Norma Cripps, Welliver originally pursued painting at art school but eventually fell in love with acting and the theater. Welliver’s theater credits include David Mamet’s production of American Buffalo, as well as performances in Naked at the Coast Theater and Shakespeare’s Henry IV. Welliver has also appeared in Riff Raff, written and directed by Laurence Fishburne, which was performed at Circle in the Square Downtown in New York City.

Welliver has also enjoyed a successful collaboration with legendary television producer David Milch, appearing in several of Milch’s shows, including the critically acclaimed HBO episodic, Deadwood. Some fans will always connect Welliver with his portrayal of The Man in Black in the cult favorite ABC series Lost. Welliver also notably played the part of Glenn Childs, Julianne Marguiles’ foil in The Good Wife, and the very dangerous Jimmy O’Phelan in Sons of Anarchy. Welliver’s other television credits are too numerous to list but include Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.SuitsThe Last Ship, The Mentalist and Chicago PD.

Welliver may now be most identified by his iconic performance as Harry Bosch, the lead character in the hit Amazon Original series Bosch. The show is based on Michael Connelly’s immensely successful book series, currently numbering 21, soon to be 22 novels, about a relentlessly dogged Los Angeles homicide detective.

In addition to Bosch, Welliver has been in every one of actor/director Ben Affleck’s big-screen, directorial outings, including Gone Baby GoneThe TownLive By Night and Argo. In addition, he has given extremely memorable performances in Michael Bay’s Transformers 4: Age of Existence and opposite Frances McDormand as her love interest in Gus Van Sant’s Promised Land. Welliver will next be seen in the reboot of the 1970’s action classic, Shaft, opposite Samuel L. Jackson.

Recap written by Michele and Cheryl

Philip was on the phone with Melinda. He let her know that he and Xander agreed on her termination. Maggie came in the room and wanted to congratulate him on working with the company. Before he could warn her, Vivian walked in the room. She demanded breakfast. Maggie thought she broke out of prison. Philip told her that Vivian was on parole. Maggie was going to check on Holly and demanded that Vivian be gone when she got back downstairs. After Maggie went upstairs, Vivian gave Philip a warning. If she was out, he was going to be too. She wouldn’t destroy his life as long as she got what she was owed with interest. Philip let her know that she would get her money, but he and Kate weren’t going to kill Xander. Vivian planned to destroy everything. He warned her that she would lose out too and would go back to prison for forgery. Philip said he would pay her, but she had to be patient. She had trouble being patient. He said he would buy her a mansion once he had the money. Vivian couldn’t believe he was throwing her out. She decided to stay at the Salem Inn. Kristen pulled her gun on Xander and told him about poking the bear. She couldn’t believe her former henchman turned on her. Xander had one chance to live. He had to tell Mr. Shin to undo the takeover and put her back in charge. Xander reached for the phone, but he refused to do it. He wanted to know if she wanted to risk losing Rachel. Xander said that Rachel had a mother who would do anything for her unlike him. She slowly put the gun down, and he told her to leave before he called the cops. Kristen wanted to negotiate with him by running the company instead of Mr. Shin, but Xander wouldn’t agree to it. He didn’t want to work with her. She was determined to make sure Xander and Philip ended up with nothing. JJ told Gabi that they had to get more suspects now that Kristen has been cleared. He thought she could be a suspect. Gabi was shocked by his admission. She was angry so JJ explained why he thought she shot EJ. Gabi told him that she wouldn’t have gained anything by shooting EJ. JJ thought she wanted to get revenge. Gabi reminded him that she was in prison twice for crimes she didn’t commit. She didn’t want to risk going back to prison. JJ wanted to know her alibi. She told him that she was home. JJ informed her that she wasn’t there when he got there. She wondered if he was calling her a liar, and he admitted that he did think she was lying. He reminded her that he ran into her at the town square. Gabi forgot about that. There was a flash of Gabi at the DiMera mansion with a gun in her hand. She went to the square because she forgot her planner and went back home. JJ told her that the evidence pointed to her, and he hated it. He had to do his job. She had a motive, the opportunity, and the weapon to shoot EJ.

Kate called Lucas and told him that he could come out of hiding because EJ was in a coma. She said that she didn’t shoot him. Sami arrived at the pub and talked to Kate. They joked with each other while they were having coffee. Kate told her that she and Roman felt bad about telling Johnny the truth about his conception. Sami told her that she wasn’t mad about it. She didn’t skip dinner because she was upset. Sami was with Rafe. She went to his place to thank him for talking to Johnny and spent the night with him. Kate thought that it was good that she was with him because Rafe was a good man. She reminded her that Rafe had a fiancee. Sami said it didn’t work out between Rafe and Jada after she slept with Shawn. Kate was shocked that she slept with Shawn. Sami didn’t realize that Kate didn’t know about it. Kate wondered if he found that out before or after EJ was shot. Sami couldn’t believe Kate thought Rafe could have shot EJ. It didn’t matter since Kristen was the prime suspect. Sami hoped it was Kristen because she didn’t like the idea that Johnny could have shot his father. Kate thought Rafe was the one who did it. Rafe met with Jada at Small Bar. He accused her of sleeping with Shawn again. Rafe told her that he saw her blouse on his couch. Jada let him know that he got the wrong idea. She assured him that nothing happened with Shawn. Jada got drunk and crashed on his couch. She begged him to forgive her. Rafe forgave her and became uncomfortable. He wished Shawn told him that instead of finding her blouse. Rafe wished he confronted Shawn instead of leaving. Jada wanted to know what he meant. Rafe told her that Sami stopped by his place and was upset. They ended up in bed together. Jada couldn’t believe what she heard. He apologized for what happened. Everything that happened was a misunderstanding. She reminded him about the misunderstanding that happened when she slept with Shawn. All it took was one shirt for him to think she was a slut. He apologized and begged her to forgive him, but she didn’t want to do it. She told him the truth about Shawn, but he didn’t want to believe her. Jada didn’t know how they could move on from it. She reminded him that he wanted space and now she wanted it too. Sami was shocked to see Kristen at the town square. She told her that she didn’t shoot EJ. Kristen thought Gabi did it. Gabi thought JJ cared about her. She thought she could trust him. JJ let her know that she could trust him. He was trying to be professional. Gabi told him to talk to her lawyer because she was done with him. Philip went to the pub to see his mother. They had to pay Vivian before she ruined everything. He was sure everything would be fine once she got her money. Xander was in his office when Vivian walked into the room.

Interview with Arielle Prepetit

TV Interview!

Interview with Arielle Prepetit (Naomi) of “Beyond the Gates” on CBS by Suzanne 4/11/25

I had a fun chat with Arielle, who seems very sweet and full of joy. She plays Naomi on BTG, and she’s been great on the new series. It’s a soap, so there’s a lot of drama.  Naomi is Dani and Bill’s daughter, and Bill cheated on her mom with her best friend, Hayley, and then he divorced her mom and married Hayley. She disowned her dad for that.  Now Naomi is suing Bill’s law firm and his slimy partner for sexual harassment. She is a force to be reckoned with, and Arielle shows that strength and fire every day on the show.  Arielle is also an amazing singer and dancer. Watch her on YouTube.

Watch “Beyond the Gates” Monday through Friday on CBS every week and later on Paramount+. Check your local listings to see when it airs. It usually airs sometime after “Bold and Beautiful.”

BEYOND THE GATES is set in a leafy Maryland suburb just outside of Washington, D.C., and in one the most affluent African American counties in the United States. Here you’ll find a posh gated community with winding tree-lined streets and luxurious mansions to call home. At the center of this community are the Duprees, a powerful and prestigious multi-generational family that is the very definition of Black royalty. But behind these pristine walls and lush, manicured gardens are juicy secrets and scandals waiting to be uncovered. And those who live outside these gates are watching closely. These are the places where our characters live, love, work and play. Those who have “made it” and those who haven’t are all trying to navigate life … and some with more grace than others.

Recap written by Michele and Cheryl

At the police station, Melinda went to see Kristen. Kristen wanted to know what was going on. Melinda told her about Titan being taken over. Kristen was furious when she found out she wasn’t CEO. Shawn and JJ went over the ballistics result and went in to see Kristen. The bullet turned out to be damaged during EJ’s surgery. It didn’t match Kristen’s gun. When Kristen was about to leave, Shawn and JJ let her know that she could have used another weapon. Melinda ripped into Shawn and JJ until they decided to let Kristen leave. Kristen said she was going to get her company back and wanted her gun. Jada thanked Stephanie for letting her stay with her. She didn’t want to upset Rafe by staying with Shawn. Jada said she had to convince Rafe that she loved him. Stephanie said he needed time. She said he would move past it once he stopped hurting. Jada said he was a good man. Stephanie said Rafe could be in a better place after talking to Shawn. She suggested that Jada should reach out to Rafe. Jada texted Rafe, but he didn’t respond. Stephanie said it didn’t mean anything and suggested that she go to Small Bar and wait for him there. Javi went in Rafe’s room and saw him in bed with Sami. Rafe told Javi that he and Jada didn’t work things out. He said she was still sleeping with Shawn. When Javi left, Rafe let Sami know that he didn’t sleep with her to get ack at Jada. Sami and Rafe didn’t regret what they did and decided to do it again. After they finished, Rafe wondered what was next, Sami said she would go home to Italy because that was where her live was. She said he could come with her, but he said he couldn’t. He said she probably asked him to go because she knew he would say no. They talked about how much they meant to each other. When Sami left the room, Rafe got a text from Jada to meet at Small Bar.

Leo and Gabi argued at breakfast. He brought up that she was going to be out of a job soon because Titan took over DiMera. Leo warned Gabi that Philip and Xander would get rid of her the first chance they got. While they were talking, Leo brought up that he thought she shot EJ until Kristen was arrested. Javi showed up and told them that Rafe slept with his ex-wife. Leo realized that it was the person who hated him the most. Sami showed up and spoke to Leo. She and Gabi talked about Arianna. When Rafe came downstairs, Gabi took that as her cue to leave. While they were eating, Leo told Sami that he would never hurt Will again. Sami wasn’t moved by the sentiment and tried to tell Javi what Leo’s done. Javi didn’t care about Leo’s past. She insulted Leo before she left. Shawn and JJ said Kristen was off the suspect list for now. JJ said Gabi was a suspect. Shawn said it was time to question Gabi. JJ reached out to Gabi and asked her to meet so they could talk in private. When Gabi and JJ met, he told her Kristen was cleared as a suspect in EJ’s shooting. JJ said there was one suspect, and it was her. Kristen went to the DiMera away. Xander showed up and asked what she was doing there. Melinda let him know that he was telling Kristen to leave. He ended up firing Melinda. Melinda ended up leaving the office. Kristen pulled a gun out on Xander.

Recap written by Michelle & Cheryl

Martin confronted Tyrel about the photo that got leaked of him. He wanted to know why the picture was online. Dani pretended to be a runway model again. She called Andre because she wanted to meet with him. He was busy, but she wanted him to come over. She flirted with him to get him to change his mind. Randy called Joey and informed him that he would make sure that Doug wouldn’t get away. Bill was suspicious that Naomi suddenly decided to pull out of the case against his firm. She explained why she backed out, but he didn’t believe her. Naomi was about to leave, but he wanted her to stay. He wanted to ask her some questions. Bill felt like Naomi wouldn’t win the case. He let her know that he would win the case. Bill felt like she didn’t believe in the case. She assured him that she believed in the case. He said that she did it because she wanted to get back at him for what he did to her mother. Naomi told him that he betrayed her mother and her by being with her best friend. He realized that was the reason why she went after the case and wondered why she would walk away from it. Martin and Smitty talked to Tyrel about the pictures. They wanted him to talk to them when things like that happen. Randy showed up at the hospital to see Doug. Doug thought he would be able to gamble at the table. Naomi denied taking the case to make her father pay for what he did to her mother. Bill didn’t believe that. She realized that she shouldn’t have taken it. Bill reminded her about the way she acted after she talked to Hayley. He asked her again why she backed out of the case. Bill felt like it was personal, and she finally admitted that she was scared. He didn’t believe that. Naomi admitted that she loved him. Tyrell talked to his parents about why the picture was taken. Smitty told him that it was a lot to take alone. Martin was determined to do something about what happened, but Tyrell didn’t want him to do anything.

Randy told Doug that he wanted to help his number one. Doug told him what happened to his patient. He couldn’t gamble anymore. Doug didn’t want to put Randy in a bind with Joey, but he didn’t want to do it anymore. Randy didn’t believe it, but Doug wanted to make the hospital his priority. Andre showed up at Dani’s place after she fell down. He noticed that she had been drinking. Andre picked her up and took her to her room. Martin was determined to stop the kids from taunting Tyrell. He didn’t like how he kept the taunts from them. Tyrell didn’t want them to help. He said they were part of the problem because they made them go to that school. He wanted to handle it himself and demanded that Martin didn’t help. Naomi wanted Bill to let it go that she loved him. He didn’t listen because he had to be a lawyer. She wanted a conversation and not a deposition. Bill told her that he loved her and her sister. He wanted to see her. Bill remembered how Naomi and Chelsea used to run into his arms. He reminisced about their relationship. Naomi asked about how he was doing. He wanted to have the case in court and didn’t want her sympathy. She didn’t forgive him, and she probably never would. Bill wanted to hug her, but he didn’t think he should. He said he loved her. Randy told Joey about his conversation with Doug. He agreed that they had to do something to get Doug interested in gambling again. Bill told Mike that Naomi was backing out of the case. Mike was excited about it. Smitty tried to make Martin feel better about the things Tyrell said to them. Martin told him that they had to do something about Tyrell getting bullied. Smitty said they should let Tyrell do what he needed to do. He was afraid Tyrell could do something worse if they don’t let him handle the situation on his own. Smitty felt like they should be united. Martin wanted to do something to stop the bullying. Martin stormed off while Smitty was talking. Bill told Mike that he was the problem with the company and he wanted him out.

Interview with Matt Borlenghi

TV Interview!

Matt Borlenghi of "Cobra Kai," on Netflix, "All My Children," on ABC, etc.

Interview with Matt Borlenghi of “Cobra Kai,” on Netflix, “All My Children,” on ABC, etc. by Suzanne 4/1/25

I really enjoyed speaking to Matt because I’ve been watching him on TV since 1990 when he joined “All My Children” as Brian Bodine. I usually act in a professional manner, but I’m afraid I geeked out quite a bit talking to him about various shows, especially soaps and “Cobra Kai.” He’s been a very busy actor for the past 35 years.  He was super kind and let me do a very long interview. If you’re a fan of his, or the soaps, or his other series, you should enjoy this quite a lot.  He told me many interesting things about working on AMC and Cobra Kai; how much he appreciated being included in the last season of Cobra Kai; why Kelly Ripa owes him 😉; why Sheila on “Bold and Beautiful” didn’t kill him (despite the rumors); and why he never played Valentin Cassadine on “General Hospital” as expected.
