Which is part of the reason why I think that Wiley and Amelia are so good for her. I’m sure they’re both wonderful, but they’re not her brothers, and she misses her brothers. I mean, I’m a bit confused because I would love Scout to live with her brothers. But I I wasn’t the one in charge. It wasn’t my choice to leave the Quartermaines’ or to separate the kids. I understand. But it is your choice not to add more change to her life right now. It’s just too overwhelming at her age. Which is exactly why it’s important for her to live in a stable home with her father, filled with love and companionship. Drew, y you can’t just change out a family like you would a tie until you find the right one. Scout needs some normalcy and consistency and stability so that she can heal. I’m not gonna watch a man who made that kind of sacrifice for me have his final resting place torn down like it’s nothing but trash, Grandma! Okay. That was a terrifying time. Come on. Alan Quartermaine was the doctor who told my mom that she was HIV positive. And she told me that that was the day her whole world just… …crumbled. Yeah, I know. Her life was never the same after that. No. And HIV, it was, like, this totally new and terrifying thing. And HIV drugs, they were brand new or they weren’t really available. And I think that all people knew about it was that they should be afraid. Right. Alan wasn’t. No. No, he stood by my mom’s side at a time when she didn’t really have anyone that she could count on. That is always one of my biggest regrets, that I wasn’t here for her when she needed me badly. You know that to this day my mom still tells me about how Alan was a huge reason she chose to pursue medicine? So, yeah. Yeah, if you ever want to know why I was okay with being arrested today, it’s because of Edward and Alan Quartermaine. They saved me and my mom’s lives, and they made our lives possible. And I couldn’t watch their final resting place be destroyed, Grandma. I couldn’t. There’s no use in dwelling about what happened. I know. Yeah. I just think Soliski would have been a lot more useful to us alive. Well, there’s no point in worrying about that. Soliski’s dead. Whether it was today or a week from today… he was gonna die. So the Port Charles Land Trust has agreed that the crypt will stay up, provided the Quartermaines relinquish a similar sized parcel of land on the lake shore. They have, and now that piece of land is part of the conservancy. Is this a joke? There’s a big joke here, Ezra, but it’s not that. Mnh. And he thinks I should exploit that that by positioning myself to nudge Laura aside and slide into the mayor’s seat myself. That’s pretty shady. But he may have a point about Mayor Collins and Sonny. I know. But the thing that bugs me the most about this… is that I agree with him. The hit man who planted the incendiary device in your penthouse is named Soliski. He’s a contract killer. Ex intelligence. That explains Valentin’s connection. Yeah, so if somebody wants to hire this guy, how did they get in touch? As far as I can tell, the only way to do it is on the Dark Web. That’s one of the reasons it was so difficult to locate him. Well, how do we find this guy? I said it was difficult, I didn’t say it was impossible. It took some maneuvering, but I managed to track him down. He never stays in one place too long. But he’s in Toronto right now. Nice work, Brick. I can have the plane fueled up and be in Toronto in one hour. Sorry I didn’t call beforehand. Um, Mom said you were here. Can I come in? Yes, sure. Of course. Yeah. So, uh, what’s what’s going on? And the urine and blood tests will give us a good picture of your overall kidney health. That’s what the article I read said. And since diabetes and high blood pressure account for two thirds of kidney disease cases, there was no good reason for me to put off being tested. When it comes to taking charge of your health, there never is. I have nothing but respect for Laura. She’s a great mayor, and it probably wouldn’t bother me if it weren’t for the McConkey Esplanade. If Laura had moved the project to Sonny’s pier, she could have revitalized that whole area, and it would have been a huge blow to Sonny’s criminal enterprise. Maybe she had reasons not to go against Sonny right then. Yeah, there were a lot of reasons, but ultimately we decided that it would probably be best not to move the Esplanade to Sonny’s pier. But a mayor who wasn’t as close to Sonny might have made a stronger case for kicking a mob boss out of an area that needs to be revitalized. I’m starting to realize that Laura will never see Sonny as the civic danger that he is. Oh! [ Chuckles ] The fighting between Ric and I has gotten to be just too much for Molly. It upsets her. It’s just too much. Well, that doesn’t surprise me. I’ve seen it in action. No one can goad you into a fight quite like Ric. Right. And every time he goads me, I respond, which delights him and upsets Molly, and I can’t live with either of those things, so I’m going to suck it up and reach a truce with Ric. Then I will leave you to it. But I advise you to double down on the meditation. No, no, no, don’t go, because… I think I need someone to referee. I’m worried this thing is going to go off the rails. If he’s going to move on Soliski, he needs to do it now. He can leave Toronto anytime. Any idea where to find him? He’s rented two properties, an apartment, and a warehouse. Odds are he’s at one of them. That’s good. I just got to figure out how to cover both locations without him getting away. Any chance Soliski was tipped off that we were after him? I was real careful when I asked, but honestly, there’s no way to be sure. We’ll take precautions. He won’t see me coming. He’s very, very careful, Jason. Almost to the point of paranoia. And even if you get the drop on him, he still will be very dangerous. Coming after me is dangerous. We could spend the weekend in Manhattan, have some nice meals, get tickets to a show if you feel like it, and just see where the streets take us. You know, when I was a teenager, I went on a similar trip with this guy I know. Really? Tell me about it. Well, I wanted to apply to art school, so this friend and I, we went down to the city to drop off my application in person. Mm hmm. But then we missed the last bus home, so we had to hang out in the city all night long. That doesn’t sound too bad. Did you have a good time? ♪ Your love… ♪ [ Camera shutter clicking ] Come on. It’s the least I can do. No it isn’t. I want to protect you, too. And Lulu said that you threatened to arrest her if she didn’t let this go. Lulu wouldn’t know anything about you and Dante if she didn’t break into Martin Grey’s hotel room. Okay, but threatening her and using your badge to do it, that’s not who you are. Just because I don’t show that side of me very often, it doesn’t mean it’s not there. I will do whatever it takes to keep you and your secrets safe. So I’m going to just push back on one small thing, okay? Okay. Your baby’s father may not be involved in your lives, but you won’t be raising this baby alone. Not if we Scorpios have anything to say about it. Molly, look, there’s been plenty of times I wanted to pick up the phone and call you. Sonny has done a lot for the community, and he’s donated enormous sums of money to the hospital over the years. And then there’s the “good guys” like Ezra Boyle and Drew Quartermaine, who ostensibly follow the law. But after two minutes with them, I come out trusting Sonny more than either one of them. Congressman Cain’s hands can’t be clean if he’s working with people like Sidwell. I know. And if I have to choose, I’m going with Laura and Sonny. But if things were different and I was running City Hall, I’d be a mayor who finally stood up to him. Thank you for tracking down Soliski. And we’re going to handle it from here. “Handling.” I assume you mean you’re going to send a team after him, right? Uh… Going up against this guy is going to be dangerous. A major operation for anyone, especially somebody who’s about to have surgery in two weeks, Sonny. I’m going to make it to that surgery, I promise. You know where to find me if you need me. I mean, I don’t think we’re ever going to be friends, but at least we can be two neutral parties with a common interest in our daughter, who we both love very much. If you don’t mind my asking, where is this coming from? Cody Bell. He gave me a little bit of perspective the other day at the PCPD when we were all together. Okay, uh, I accept your apology. Good. You know, I see you work around the hospital, and I’m impressed, but this just puts you over the top. What are you talking about? You taking steps for preventative care like this. And having done your research. we should all be this engaged in our health care. Well, I believe when it comes to my health, knowledge is power. Well, then you, my friend, are pretty powerful. [ Laughter ] Have you and Jason discussed whether his name would be on the birth certificate? Well, we already agreed that he wouldn’t be involved, so having his name on an official record would only complicate things. Especially because it would give him legal rights to the child. Listen, you’re the mother. You get to make all the decisions here. But I would advise you to get everything settled before the baby is born. The last thing I want for you is for Jason to file a paternity test later. And insist on having his name added to the birth certificate. Jason would never do that. Oh, Sasha, there’s nothing more precious than a baby. And you don’t know that Jason won’t feel that way at some point and change his mind. Just talk to him. Make sure he’s okay with all of this. You don’t want to leave anything open for interpretation later. The last thing you should be doing is going to Toronto to chase down a professional killer. No one knows how long Soliski is going to be in Toronto. This can’t wait till after my surgery. That’s why I’m going tonight, alone. You coming along is too much of a risk. We’ve dealt with far worse than Soliski in the past. I’m going to have my medication and everything’s going to be fine. There’s too many things that can go wrong. What if you’re having an episode and you can’t get your pills? What if Soliski finds you in the middle of an episode? What if you have an attack and the pills don’t work? You know, I’m at risk for kidney disease because I have diabetes. I read that people with high blood pressure or diabetes should get tested. Right, and I took the same two tests as you. Well, good for you. There’s no reason not to be proactive. I mean, as many as 90% of people with kidney disease don’t know they have the condition because they may not have symptoms until the disease has progressed far enough to cause irreversible damage to their kidneys. Well, given my high blood pressure, past medical history, race, age, and the fact that the test was pretty simple for me, I decided to make sure all my bases were covered. Good. It takes two, both a urine test and a blood test to screen for kidney disease. And taking charge of your kidney health can help reduce the potential for serious complications down the road, and may also uncover cardiovascular risk. I’m all for that. Lulu has definitely taken this whole thing too far. I don’t even think she’s upset with me for not telling Dante as a child. I think she’s upset with Dante for not telling her that we had a past together. So Dante didn’t tell her about a teenage hookup? It doesn’t affect her, unlike the rest of us. She’s too self centered and self righteous to see that. Well, then she’s blind. Her life hasn’t changed. She doesn’t have to see the father of her child every day, or sit next to him at work, or consider him his best friend. And her going on about it like this is just rubbing it in. Chase. I can’t imagine how hard this is for you. I would do anything to change it. I know. Look, it’s not your fault. It’s not even a fault thing. You had a baby with my best friend, and knowing that is something I just have to get used to. I just never expected it. How could you? I never expected the hard things to happen in my life.
