Days of Our Lives Update

Days of Our Lives logo

Update written by Joseph

Tate (now played by Leo Howard) greets Brady at home. Brady tells him it’s a great morning because Tate is finally home. Brady tells him he’s got coffee ready and is making him breakfast. Tate mentions sleeping better than he has in months. Brady credits finally being in his own room again. Tate can’t believe it’s already April and it’s like he wasted 3 months. Brady declares that he’s finally free again and asks if he had fun at Buddy’s house. Tate claims he just hung out with a couple friends who caught him up on the viral videos he missed while locked up. Brady says it’s good that he’s reconnecting with his friends and making up for lost time. Tate comments that reconnecting was great…

Nicole talks with Holly at home about her physical therapy going well. Holly asks if that means she can stop going soon but Nicole tells her that she still has a few more sessions. Nicole tells Holly that she is really proud of her hard work. Holly asks if she’s proud enough to give her phone back and let her leave the house by herself but Nicole says not yet. Holly remarks that at least she can be alone in her room then and storms off upstairs.

EJ is in the living room on the phone with Mr. Shin, relating to the loss of a son. EJ confirms that Stefan has been put in jail because he was in cahoots with Clyde Weston and his drug ring. EJ assures that it will be dealt with and hangs up as Nicole appears in the doorway.

At the Spectator office, Leo talks to Chad about his daily horoscope as they are both pisces. Leo reads that pickles will be a great source of joy for him this week and tantric is not a cuss word to be used around the office but says he’ll leave that part out. Everett arrives and greets them. Chad questions what he’s doing there. Everett says considering what’s been going on lately, he’s been working from home but he came to share news with Chad in person because it directly affects him. Everett reveals that his sources at the Salem PD told him that Stefan is in jail which Chad questions as he hasn’t heard anything about that. Leo asks why Stefan is in jail and asks if Chad is alright. Chad says he’s just a bit shocked but guesses he shouldn’t be. Chad asks what Everett knows about why Stefan is in jail. Everett then reveals that Stefan confessed to running drugs for Clyde Weston.

At the Brady Pub, Sloan tells Eric that she has to go for several client meetings. Eric comments on her working hard. Sloan mentions the expenses piling up since they have a kid now. Eric comments on his photography business not taking off yet. Stephanie comes over and greets them. Stephanie tells them not to hesitate if they ever need a babysitter as she misses being around kids, especially Thomas and Charlotte. Stephanie mentions going through a rough time. Eric asks if something happened with Everett. Stephanie confirms that something did and she was totally blindsided.

At the police station, Jada brings a box to Rafe in his office. Jada says it’s from her storage with all her divorce documents from her awful time in Seattle with Bobby. Rafe tells Jada that he’s sorry for what was found. Jada tells him not to be and insists that she is not still legally married to Bobby Stein and that somewhere in the box, there will be proof.

Tate and Brady finish breakfast at home. Brady asks if Tate has any plans for spring break. Tate says he thought he’d still be locked up in the halfway house so he didn’t make any plans. Brady suggests they go to the Cubs vs. Dodgers baseball game. Tate agrees that sounds fun. Brady brings up that he knows Tate recently felt like nobody believed him about the drugs and like no one was in his corner. Brady understands how rough that must have been but he’s proud of the way Tate handled it. Tate brings up how he stole Theresa’s phone and broke out of the halfway house. Brady talks about how they all make mistakes but it’s how they atone for them that builds character. Brady encourages Tate to put the past behind him. Tate admits he’s nervous to go back to school and now that he has a phone, he can see what all the kids are saying about him and what happened. Brady points out that his real friends stood up for him. Tate asks if he can go hang out with them. Brady says sure and asks which friends. Tate says he and his friends were going to go to the mall. Brady offers to give him a ride but Tate says he will walk. Tate thanks him as Brady tells him to have fun. Tate heads to his room while Brady looks concerned.

Rafe and Jada look through Jada’s box until she finds her divorce decree and presents it to Rafe. Rafe jokes that he’s relieved to not be sleeping with a married woman.

Stephanie sits with Eric and Sloan to fill them in on Everett being Bobby Stein, but having no memory of being married to Jada or seeing her before meeting in Salem. Sloan calls that strange and complicated. Sloan asks Eric if Jada ever mentioned much about her marriage to Bobby. Eric says she didn’t much. Stephanie says it was obviously a very tough time for Jada and now she finds out that she was the other woman while Everett doesn’t remember being married. Eric and Sloan hope Stephanie finds forgiveness for her own peace of mind. Sloan guesses they’ll never really know what Everett was going through and feels that no one should judge unless they walk in someone’s shoes. Sloan wishes she could stay and hear more but she has to go meet a client. Sloan wishes Stephanie luck and then exits the Pub. Eric tells Stephanie that he’s really sorry for what she’s going through. Stephanie is sorry for the way she handled it since every time she tries to talk to Jada, she just gets more upset with her. Stephanie explains that Jada blames her for not knowing that Everett was married when they got together and wonders why she didn’t do a background check or find it odd that she never met his friends or family. Stephanie adds that now that she knows Everett cheated on Jada and blew up their marriage, Jada is furious that she hasn’t turned her back on him.

Sloan joins Rafe and Jada in Rafe’s office. Jada thanks her for meeting with her. Sloan informs her that she coincidentally just ran in to Stephanie at the Pub and she filled her in on everything with Everett, Bobby, and how upset Jada is with her. Jada tells Sloan that she’s sure Stephanie played the victim. Sloan says that Stephanie seemed extremely sad about the whole thing but she didn’t let her know that Jada called and let her believe she didn’t know anything about it. Sloan assures that she takes client confidentiality very seriously. Jada says she appreciates that and then presents Sloan with the divorce decree that she found. Sloan reveals that she spoke to Rafe’s friend and more details are coming to light. Sloan informs them that the divorce decree was not signed by Bobby so she is technically still married to Robert Stein.

Chad finishes a call with EJ and informs Everett and Leo that EJ confirmed Stefan confessed and was arrested but he declined to comment further. Chad recalls the last time he saw Stefan, he was really drunk and an emotional mess. Chad guesses it makes sense now knowing he was working under Clyde and maybe it was a cry for help. Leo gets a text and says he has to go as he has a lead on a story, so he quickly exits. Everett informs Chad that he wrote up a story and asks if they are going to post it. Chad says of course. Everett asks Chad if he’s sure, reminding him that last time he was going to write about Stefan being involved in the drug ring, he asked him to look the other way so maybe he wants him to cover this up too. Chad thinks back to ordering Everett to remove everything about Holly’s overdose at the Bistro from their paper.

EJ informs Nicole that the DiMera Board got wind of Stefan’s arrest, the stocks are way down, and they are furious so now they want to kick Stefan out. EJ doesn’t blame the board since they have been working hard to recreate the image and Stefan being connected to a drug ring is the last thing DiMera needs. Nicole wonders if Stefan is responsible for the drugs that put Holly in a coma. EJ admits that he could be but says all he knows is that Stefan helped Clyde distribute drugs through the Bistro because Clyde threatened to kill Gabi if he didn’t fall in line, so he was trying to protect his wife. Nicole argues that doesn’t make it right. Brady walks in and declares none of this is right. EJ tells Brady that this isn’t a good time. Brady argues that his son lost three months of his life, so they are going to listen to what he has to say. Nicole asks what he wants. Brady responds that he wants what he’s already demanded and that’s a public apology from EJ to Tate and for EJ to admit that he was wrong to accuse Tate of a crime that he did not commit. Brady declares that’s what he wants and what he will get for his son and his son’s family. Brady asks if EJ has a problem with that.

Jada doesn’t understand how the divorce decree isn’t valid. Sloan repeats that Robert never signed it. Jada argues that the error never would’ve been discovered if not for Rafe’s friend. Rafe says he was just trying to help. Sloan feels it would’ve come out eventually and she needs the paper to be legit if she ever wants to get remarried. Sloan encourages that it’s not an insurmountable problem as all she has to do is get Robert Stein to sign the papers. Jada declares that she will do that right now.

Chad tells Everett that when the raid at the Bistro turned up nothing, he chose to believe his brother and now he owns that it was a mistake. Chad tells Everett to write his damn story and they aren’t covering anything up. Stephanie arrives and says she hopes she’s not interrupting as she came to announce that she decided to stay on as the Spectator’s PR person. Stephanie thinks it’s best if Chad is her primary point of contact which Everett says makes sense. Everett then gets a call from Jada, who says she needs him to meet her at the Pub right now. Everett says he can’t because he’s at work but Jada says it will take five minutes so Everett agrees to meet. Everett tells Chad to take a look at what he wrote and see if he likes it. Everett says he’ll be back and exits, leaving Stephanie wondering what that was about.

EJ tells Brady that he would have no problem issuing a public apology to Tate. Brady says he didn’t think that he would consider the hell Tate has been through due to EJ’s bias and Holly’s deceit. Holly then comes downstairs and tells them that she’s going to take a walk around the garden, so she exits through the side door. Holly goes around the corner and meets Tate at the front door. Holly informs Tate that Brady is inside which surprises him. Tate assures her that Brady didn’t know he was coming here. Tate then surprises Holly with a burner phone and says now they can talk anytime but she’ll have to keep it hidden. Holly calls him a lifesaver as they hug.

Leo walks through the town square and runs in to Eric with Jude. Leo shows Eric his new scarf and talks about the sale at the store. Leo offers to watch Jude if Eric wants to go do some shopping. Eric calls it a kind offer but says he and Sloan are budgeting right now with a lot of expenses. Leo tells Eric that he was honored to be included in the Christening. Eric thanks him for his kind words.

Holly asks Tate if he’s adjusting to life on the outside. Tate says he’s doing so much better and he’s relieved to be out of the halfway house as it was beyond horrible. Holly says she’s really sorry. Tate says it’s okay as he’s out now and gets to hang out with her. Tate calls spring break a waste and says he’s not ready to go back to school. Holly guesses they have no choice. Tate points out that their parents can’t keep them separated while at school. Holly suggests they agree to find each other in between periods, hold hands in the hall, and find a private space to be together at lunch. Tate says he has the perfect spot under a tree. They kiss until they hear the gardener. Holly decides they should say goodbye before Nicole sees them.

Nicole tells Brady that she told Holly to apologize to Tate but also to Brady and Theresa. Brady wants that made clear to EJ as well. EJ says he will issue a public apology but argues that he only went where the evidence pointed and the law. Brady argues that the evidence only pointed towards Tate because of EJ’s bias against Tate and his hatred for him. Nicole tells them both to stop. Nicole tells EJ that none of this would’ve gotten out of hand if Holly didn’t do drugs in the first place or told them the truth when she woke up and Tate screwed things up by covering for her. Nicole states that the truth is out now and the kids need them to be united, so they need to set a good example. EJ agrees that they all need to take the high road. EJ apologizes to Brady for accusing his son of a crime he did not commit and says his office will issue a statement as soon as possible. Brady says he looks forward to that as they shake hands.

Everett goes to the Brady Pub and meets Jada, Rafe, and Sloan. Everett asks Jada what this is about. Jada responds that it’s a personal matter and informs him that she’s hired Sloan as her lawyer. Jada informs Everett that she asked him for a divorce when she found out he was cheating on her. Everett repeats that he doesn’t remember her so he doesn’t remember being married or divorced. Jada informs him that they never got divorced, so under the law, they are still married.

Nicole and EJ walk Brady out of the living room. After they leave, Holly and Tate sneak in through the side door but Brady comes back and catches them, questioning what the hell Tate is doing here. EJ and Nicole come back in as well. Nicole tells Holly that she can’t believe this.

Chad complains to Stephanie about letting Stefan use him and how every time the DiMeras start to rebuild their image, something like this happens. Chad notes Stephanie is distracted and guesses it’s about Everett. Stephanie says it’s all such a mystery if he’s Everett or Bobby and if she should hate him for deceiving her and Jada or if she should stand by him. Stephanie states that she doesn’t want to believe he meant to hurt either of them.

Everett questions still being married since he doesn’t remember being married in the first place. Jada says what he remembers isn’t relevant at this point and tells Sloan to show him the papers. Sloan gives the papers to Everett and he signs them. Everett declares that’s it but Sloan looks at his signature and questions what the hell this is.

Eric finds an envelope from the landlord, revealing that Sloan has not paid the rent.

Brady tells Tate that they are leaving now, reminding him that he told her not to see Holly. Holly responds that she wanted to see Tate too. Brady doesn’t care and says he doesn’t want Tate around her after she let him take the fall for her drug overdose and almost jeopardized his future. Brady is surprised Tate even wants to be around her. Tate declares that he forgives Holly but Brady says he shouldn’t. Nicole agrees with Brady that Holly and Tate shouldn’t hang out together for the time being. Holly argues that they can’t do that to them. Tate complains that they aren’t angry with each other and only the adults are angry. Brady announces that the adults agree so Holly and Tate are not to see each other anymore.

Chad tells Stephanie that she has to take care of herself first and she does that by distancing herself from Everett. Chad knows she’s hurt and confused. Chad doesn’t think it will be good for her to stand by Everett and suggests letting him lean on someone else. Stephanie points out that he doesn’t have anyone else in Salem. Chad offers to lend an ear when Everett needs it but Stephanie doesn’t think he will want to open up to him. Chad jokes that he can branch out and join a softball league, go to church, or find some way to meet new people. Stephanie doesn’t think those would interest him. Chad feels there’s plenty of other ways to meet people. Chad doesn’t want his advice to come across as sounding jealous because that’s not it. Chad says that Stephanie is his friend and he cares about her a lot, so he doesn’t want to see her get hurt any more than she already has.

Sloan points out that Everett signed the papers as Everett Lynch but she needs him to sign as Bobby Stein because that is who is married to Jada. Everett argues that he’s not that man and declares that he’s sorry but he can’t sign for him because that would be forgery. Everett tells Jada that he’s sorry but she’s going to have to find another way to get her divorce.

Stephane said Jada thought she was the other woman. Sloan sympathized with Jada but didn’t think people should judge Everett until they knew what he was going through. When Sloan left, Stephanie talked to Eric about Jada being upset with her. Sloan met with Rafe and Jada at the police station. She let Jada know she ran into Stephanie at the pub. Jada showed Sloan her divorce papers and said she and Bobby weren’t married. Sloan said she spoke to Rafe’s friend Vincent and found out that Bobby never signed the divorce papers. She said they were still married. Chad talked to Everett about the last time he saw Stefan. He said it was a cry for help. Everett said he finished the story and asked if he wanted him to publish it. Chad told him to publish it. Everett said the last time he wanted to write the story he wanted him to bury it. He wanted to make sure Chad wasn’t going to bury it again. EJ talked to Nicole about the board finding out about Stefan’s arrest. He said the board was going to get rid of Stefan if he didn’t leave on his own. Nicole asked if Stefan was responsible for the drugs that put Holly in a coma. EJ said he could be. He said he was doing what Clyde wanted in order to save her life. While they were talking, Brady showed up. Brady said he wanted a public apology for Tate. He said he wanted EJ to admit to being wrong for accusing Tate of doing something he didn’t do. Brady said he wanted it and that was what EJ was going to do.

Jada wanted to know why her divorce decree wasn’t valid. Sloan said Bobby never signed it. Jada said no one would know about it if it weren’t for Rafe’s friend. Rafe said he was trying to help. Sloan said the problem was fixable. She said Vincent gave her the divorce papers for her to sign. Jada wanted to take care of it right away. While Chad and Everett were talking, Stephanie showed up and told them she was going to continue representing the paper. She said she wanted Chad to be the person she contacted. Jada called Everett and asked him to come to meet with her. He agreed to meet her. EJ told Brady that he didn’t have a problem making a public apology for Tate. Brady said he didn’t think he would after what he said about Tate and Holly’s deceit. Holly showed up and said she was going for a walk. When Holly went outside, Tate was there. She told him his father was there. Tate gave her a burner phone. Holly asked how he was doing. He said he was glad to be out of the halfway house. She apologized for what she did. They talked about their parents not keeping them apart at school. Nicole told Brady that she told Holly to apologize to Tate and Theresa. Brady told her to tell her husband that as well. EJ said he went by the evidence for why he went after Tate. Brady said EJ did it because of his hatred of him. Nicole pulled EJ aside and told him everything happened because Holly took drugs. She said they should do the right thing. EJ agreed with her. He apologized to Brady and was going to issue a letter of apology as soon as possible. Everett met with Jada and Rafe at the pub. Sloan mention the divorce papers, but Everett didn’t know what she was talking about. Jada said she asked him for a divorce. Everett asked why he would remember a divorcing her when he didn’t remember marrying her. Jada told him they were still married. Brady, EJ, and Nicole caught Tate and Holly together. Chad told Stephanie that he was an idiot for trusting Stefan. While Chad was talking, he noticed that Stephanie was distracted. She said she was confused about Everett and didn’t know if he meant to hurt her or Jada. Sloan showed Everett the divorce papers. Everett signed the papers. Sloan asked him about his signature. Brady told Tate that he warned him to stay away from Holly. Holly said she wanted to see him. Brady said Tate shouldn’t be around her because she accused him of drugging her. Nicole agreed that they should stay away from each other. Tate said he forgave Holly. Brady said they had to stay away from each other. Chad told Stephanie to let Everett lean on someone else. She said Everett didn’t have anyone else in Salem. Chad said Everett could lean on him. Stephanie thought that was nice, but Everett wouldn’t open up to him. Sloan told Everett that he signed the wrong name. She told him to sign Bobby. Everett said he wouldn’t sign the name Bobby because he wasn’t that man. He told her to find another way to get the divorce.

Days Opinions For The Week Of April 1, 2024

Opinion Article

by Michele & Cheryl

Nicole from Days

We loved watching Brady ripping into Holly when she confessed to the drugs being hers. She deserved to hear his wrath because she was willing to let Tate be in trouble for her lie. Just because she lied to protect Nicole doesn’t change the fact that she didn’t tell the truth. Tate suffered because of her yet she acted as if she deserved sympathy. She didn’t deserve any sympathy.

Nicole managed to make Holly’s confession about her. Holly was right about Nicole blaming herself for what she did. Eric also made it about Nicole by comforting her. Nicole didn’t deserve any comfort after what Holly did. Holly also didn’t deserve any sympathy for what she did. She knew what she was doing and didn’t care that Tate was “suffering” in rehab because of her. Holly may have had a change of heart but that didn’t change what she did to him.

Eric needs to realize where his priorities lie. He chose to comfort Nicole and Holly after the confession as if they were the victims. If anything, he should have comforted Brady about Tate being wrongfully accused of giving Holly drugs. We know Holly considers Eric her father, but he is related to Tate. Where was Eric’s loyalty to Tate? Eric acted as if he couldn’t care less about Tate’s situation. His concern was making sure Holly was okay.

It doesn’t say much for the police force that Xander was able to solve who shot Harris by looking at a computer, but they turned up empty. The police should have done the same thing Xander did and looked at the computer. Maybe Xander should join the police force since he figured out what happened based on looking at a computer for a few minutes.

Why was Julie so willing to help Stephanie after what happened between her and Chad? Chad is the one linked to Julie through Abby, yet she keeps showing loyalty to Stephanie. We get that Stephanie needs someone to talk to, but it doesn’t have to be Julie. She has plenty of relatives in Salem she could talk to about her problems with Everett. Why would Stephanie talk to someone linked to Chad?

As much as we think Holly deserved the wrath, she received for what she did to Tate, Theresa didn’t have a right to judge her. Let us explain. Theresa accused Xander of raping her and he suffered for it. She also got JJ hooked on drugs. Let’s not forget that she let Alex think he was Victor’s son. She also helped Konstantin kidnap Sarah and Xander’s daughter. This list is just some of the things she has done in the past which means she shouldn’t judge Holly for what she did to Tate. Now that Tate fell victim to false accusations, it’s wrong to lie. Theresa is such a hypocrite.

Stephanie must not want to be friends with Jada the way we are supposed to believe. If she wanted to be friends with Jada, she would have stayed away from Everett. Stephanie doesn’t have to be his support system just because he doesn’t have anyone else in Salem. If she’s going to stand by his side, she may as well get back together with him. What was the point of breaking up with him if she’s going to support him? It will serve her right if she finds out something about his past she doesn’t like.

We applaud Nicole for not letting Holly off the hook for lying about Tate. Nicole wanted her to apologize and held her accountable for what she did. Holly deserved to be held accountable for lying about Tate. We thought Nicole would have let Holly manipulate her into feeling sorry for her, but she didn’t. Nicole stayed strong and let her have it without being too rough on her. She managed to hold Holly accountable without flying off the handle. If Nicole did go off on her, Holly would have used that as an excuse to do something else.

Interview with Barbara Niven of “One Bad Apple A Hannah Swensen Mystery” on Hallmark Mystery by Suzanne 4/3/24

Barbara Niven seems very sweet, and it was a delight to chat with her. I had a friend sitting nearby listening, and after the interview, she said, “Wow, she sounds really nice!” While it’s true that actors are good at hiding their feelings, and they’re paid to pretend, I think that Barbara’s real-life kindness comes through in her roles and interviews. She clearly has so much fun playing Delores in these movies. Delores is a little kooky, but she means well.  Make sure you watch the movie because it’s fun, and it’s a good mystery! It airs tonight, 4/5/24, as the 9th film in the series.

Billy: What do I really want from chancellor-winters? Almost sounds like you’re interviewing me for the job, lily. Am I going to have to express my biggest weaknesses here? Let me see. I’m a perfectionist, okay? And I often love to bring my work home with me.

Lily: Billy, come on, come on. I’m being serious.

Billy: I want to do a good job. I want to bring value to the company that katherine loved, okay? And I want to do it in a way that earns trust for my team. And I want to be a good example for my kids.

Lily: Okay. What else?

Billy: That’s it. That’s not enough for you?

Lily: I think there’s more. I mean, that’s a great answer for your fortune 500 profile, but this is me you’re talking to. So what else?

Billy: I want to protect my mother’s position and her legacy. But I’m also not here just to be a placeholder for her.

Lily: I’m asking what’s in it for you, billy. And don’t lie to me, because I will see right through it.

Nick: Hey, how’s it going?

Sally: Oh, good. How about you?

Nick: Hanging in there. Have you heard from adam?

Sally: Uh, we have traded a few brief phone calls, but I– I don’t know much. As of last night, he and chelsea and connor were in baltimore, scheduled for some sessions today, coming up with a treatment plan.

Nick: Poor little guy. It’s got to be so scary for him. And I cannot imagine what adam and chelsea are going through.

Sally: Yeah, adam was so relieved to see how happy connor was to get home to genoa city. He thought maybe the nightmare was over, but it really didn’t make a bit of difference with his ocd symptoms. The last thing adam wanted to do was to send connor away, but he finally had to agree with chelsea that the only thing that matters is the best treatment possible.

Nick: He’s right. I’m glad adam and chelsea are on the same page and they’ve come together to do whatever they can to get their boy the help he needs.

Chelsea: Before I forget, please thank victor for letting us use the newman jet.

Adam: Will do.

Chelsea: He didn’t have to do that.

Adam: Well, for family, he wouldn’t have it any other way. If you’re checking to see if connor called, don’t bother. The doctors said we shouldn’t expect to hear from him today. You remember?

Chelsea: I know. I just thought if there was a problem…

Adam: “If there’s a problem?”

[ Adam scoffs ] If there’s a problem.

Billy: So you want the truth?

Lily: Mm-hmm.

Billy: Lily wants the naked truth, huh?

Lily: Yep.

Billy: I see it, okay? It’s all become very clear. It took me a while, but I get it. I understand this company better now than I did before.

Lily: How so?

Billy: I don’t know. But I have a new perspective. And I’m not gonna get bored the way devon predicted, okay? So you can feel free to go tell him that there’s zero chance that I’m moving on. And you’ll never guess why.

Lily: Oh, god, I don’t like when you say that. Why?

Billy: Because I see a future where chancellor-winters soars to new heights.

Lily: And how are you planning to accomplish that?

Billy: Not me. We. Me and you. Side by side, running the whole damn place. The way it was meant to be. When my doctor gave me breztri for my copd

Announcer: Additional sponsorship provided by…

Adam: “If there is a problem?” There is no “if” here, chelsea. There is a problem. In case you haven’t noticed, we’re in genoa city, and our son is all alone in baltimore. Probably scared to death and confused, surrounded by a bunch of strangers.

Chelsea: Stop, adam. Stop it. Enough. We’re both very stressed. We’re both trying to process this. Don’t make me the enemy. I didn’t send him there to make him miserable. I hate this, too.

Adam: I’m sorry. Okay, you’re right. That was not helpful. When I get home, I’ll go online, and I will set up connor’s petty cash fund.

Chelsea: Thank you. I appreciate it. Maybe he’ll find something in their commissary he likes to eat. Or isn’t afraid to eat.

Adam: And don’t forget to send his lucky jersey, number 7, in case he wants to play again.

Chelsea: Yeah. That was nice of them to let us tour the sports facilities.

Adam: Yeah, they seemed okay. Not what connor hoped they’d be, but they were– they were okay.

Chelsea: Yeah, okay is better than nothing, and it’s– at least it’s warmer there than it is here.

Adam: Yes, that is true.

Chelsea: This is me. Um, just call me if you hear anything, and I’ll do the same.

[ Car door shuts ]

Sally: It’s such a miracle to see you guys finally acting like brothers.

Nick: Wanna hear another miracle?

Sally: Please.

Nick: Adam actually listened to me when I told him that he needed to be the one to tell dad about connor.

Sally: I am so glad you did that. Apparently, victor has been great. He even said to use the newman jet, which I know you suggested, but victor was insistent.

Nick: Of course he was. Connor’s his grandson, and the family gets what the family needs, as far as my dad is concerned. I’m just sorry that adam couldn’t convince him to go along with his idea of bringing your business into newman.

Sally: Don’t be.

Nick: Why not? You and chloe must be disappointed.

Sally: We were, until we found out the idea might not be so dead after all.

Lily: Sorry, you and me? Running chancellor-winters? I know you’re joking.

Billy: Think about it. It’s the smartest option.

[ Lily laughs ]

Lily: “The smartest option.” Oh, my god, this is classic billy abbott. Go big or go home.

Billy: Yeah. Go big or go home. People think that’s a novel idea. It’s not. It’s logical to me, okay? We can do this.

Lily: You do remember that you’re not calling the shots here, right?

Billy: Not yet.

Lily: Uh, okay. You know what? How about– let’s have some fun. Um, what happens to devon and nate and chance and– oh, your mother.

Billy: Nothing. They’re all here, okay? I’m not gonna clean the deck. They all have a seat at the table. Chance, nate, devon. Based on their experience and their expertise, with devon getting the biggest piece of the pie.

Lily: Oh, yes, of course. At your discretion.

Billy: No, our discretion. 50-50 decision making.

Lily: Devon is not gonna go for that. He fought very hard to preserve the integrity of our father’s company.

Billy: Yeah, I understand that. Okay, there’ll be some adjustments. But the truth is, devon’s passion is music. This is his golden opportunity to lean into that. And he’ll spend more time on the artistic divisions. It’s a win-win.

Lily: He is not gonna see it that way.

Billy: Once he stops tripping over his ego, he’s gonna love it. In fact, he’ll probably end up thanking us.

Lily: You are delusional. Um, okay, what about jill?

Billy: Why do you think she put me in this position in the first place?

Lily: Why?

Billy: Because she wants to groom me to be her replacement.

Lily: Wait, she said that?

Billy: No, not exactly. But she’s my mother, okay? And I know how to read her.

Lily: I know how to read her too. And she’s not going anywhere anytime soon.

Billy: Lily, why do you think she hired you as ceo back when chancellor-winters was chance comm? Look, if it’s not me as the heir apparent, it’s because she wants us both at the helm. She handpicked us back then, and she handpicked us now. You and me, we’re ready to take the reins, and that could happen very easily.

If you have wet amd,

Nick: So adam still thinks there’s a chance dad will bring your design business into newman?

Sally: He is convinced that victor can be persuaded to change his mind.

Nick: I’m not convinced of that. But when it comes to my dad, you never know what you’re going to get.

Sally: Yeah, I’m not completely sold on the idea anyway.

Nick: But you didn’t ask adam to just drop it.

Sally: Yeah, he’s just got a lot of other things to focus on, and all I want to do right now is support him with that.

Nick: Well, I’m sure he appreciates your support. So what about you? I know you love to feel like, uh, you know, you’re productive and that you’re busy. You doing okay?

[ Sally sighs ]

Sally: I’ve just been wondering if making the transition to interior designer was a mistake. I don’t know, maybe I should have just stuck with what I really know. Fashion.

Nick: Well, you should not sell yourself short, sally spectra. You’re amazing. You have a lot of talents. You know, you, uh, you’re obviously a very creative thinker. You’re a hustler. You do the work. You’ve made a lot of contacts, and you stand up for what you believe in. Those kind of skills will translate into any field you want. And I hope you know that I’m always here for anything you need.

Sally: Nick, really, you’ve done more than enough. One way or another, I will be okay.

Nick: I’m sure you will.

Sally: You know, come to think of it, there is actually one thing that you can do for me.

Nick: Oh, all right. Name it.

Sally: Stop talking about me. And tell me how you’re doing.

Nick: I’m, uh, I’m cool, you know? Christian’s doing great. The broader newman family is hanging tough, like we always do. Work’s awesome. I have everything I need.

Connor: And you won’t make me go to that place. I want to go home. I’ll be good. I’ll do everything I’m supposed to. Please, dad. Can I come home?

Adam: Sir, uh, there’s been a change of plans. Uh, I’m not going to be heading straight home, after all.

Lily: O– okay, let’s just pretend, for fun, that jill passes the baton and devon steps aside, okay? I can still think of a million reasons why this would never happen.

Billy: It’s because you always think of the practical course of action, which is the correct one most of the time. And that’s a good thing, but lily, I’m trying to get you to dream just a little bit more. Lily… you and I are ready for this. We’re stronger. We’re smarter business people than we were before. We have learned a lot. We know each other’s weaknesses, and we know each other’s strengths. Most importantly, we know when to call each other out when the other one is wrong.

Lily: Yeah, which I’m clearly not doing a good job of right now.

Billy: Look, I get it, okay? I understand the instinct is to be reluctant. And I do appreciate your loyalty to your brother. But devon is a lone wolf. He always has been, he always will be. He can’t seem to learn how to play well with others.

Lily: You’re just using that as an excuse to move him out of the way.

Billy: Lily, he’s holding this company back. He’s conservative, okay? He’s not a dreamer. Not like I am. Not like you are. And I know you are because you proved it when you had the idea to bring these two companies together.

Lily: Yeah, an idea you thought was untenable when mamie wanted to split chancellor and winters.

Billy: Sure, but let me clarify that, okay? It was only untenable because of the current regime. Chancellor and winters butting heads, that’s not good. With you and me in charge, we can bring this company to new heights. I know we can. We can do it, lily. We can do it together. So I didn’t think I needed swiffer…

Chelsea: Hey, you two.

Billy: Hi.

Lily: Hi.

Billy: Hey. I didn’t– I didn’t know you were home. When did you get back?

Chelsea: Uh, just a little while ago. Um, I– I tried calling you, but your phone went to voicemail. I thought I could find you here.

Billy: Yeah, sorry, I was, uh, I– I turned it off. Lily and I were just having a spirited discussion about the future of the company.

Chelsea: Oh, good. You know what? Well, I don’t want to interrupt, so I can go.

Lily: Oh, no, no, no, no. You’re fine. You’re fine. Uh, we were done anyway.

Billy: Yeah, we were done, but we’ll, uh, we’ll pick this up later, yeah?

Lily: Um, chelsea, good to see you. Hope your trip went well.

Chelsea: Thanks, lily.

[ Chelsea sighs ]

Billy: Come here.

[ Knocking on door ]

Nick: Thanks, man. Lily. Hi.

Lily: Hi, nick. How are you?

Nick: Good. Um, I didn’t know you were back from california. How’s everything? How’s mattie?

Lily: Um, she’s good. Thank you for asking.

Nick: Good for her and for you. Uh, I’m sure it made all the difference in the world knowing that she can still lean on you.

Lily: Yeah, it was nice. I mean, she’s an adult, but she wanted her mom, so I had to be there.

Nick: Once a parent, always a parent.

Lily: Yeah. I mean, it’s nice that they grow up, they have their own lives, but they still want you around, you know? I don’t take that for granted at all.

Nick: I feel the same way.

Lily: Um, are you meeting someone?

Nick: No, just, uh, grabbing lunch by myself.

Lily: Well, I am too. Should we have lunch together?

Nick: Yeah, let’s do it, especially since you’re buying. Come on.

Lily: Oh, oh, okay, um, that’s presumptuous of you.

[ Nick laughs ]

Nick: I mean, you gotta admit, as big of a pain in the ass as the business world could be at times, sometimes it’s unpredictable.

Lily: “Unpredictable.” That’s a good word. I’m sure chancellor-winters has newman beat, though, on unpredictability, that’s for sure.

Nick: I wouldn’t be too sure about that.

Lily: Okay, try me.

Nick: All right. Try this one. Uh, right now, my dad has me and adam working very closely together, like, every day, while victoria’s taking a break.

Lily: Oh, okay. You and adam are working together? Well, clearly it’s going well.

Nick: Why would you assume that?

Lily: Well, you know, there’s no, like, black eyes or bandages, scratches.

Nick: Well, clearly you haven’t seen adam in a while.

Lily: Oh, okay.

Nick: Not really. It’s been cool, uh, relatively injury-free, and honestly, neither adam or i want to deal with that if we can’t make this work.

Lily: Yeah, that would be motivation for me as well.

Nick: All right, your turn. What does chancellor-winters have that can top that? I bet nothing.

Lily: Uh, yep. Nothing.

[ Lily laughs ] Uh, for now. Time will tell. We’ll see.

Nick: All right. How about you and daniel? How’s that going?

Lily: Um, it’s not. We broke up. He and, uh, heather are back together.

Billy: Wasn’t expecting you home so early. How’s everything with connor? Did you get him all settled in?

Chelsea: We did. We did. We brought his stuff to his room, and I made his bed the way he likes it. But things are more complicated than we expected.

Sally: Weren’t you planning to be gone for, like, a week or so?

Adam: Uh-huh.

Sally: What happened? Why are you back already?

Adam: They, um, they made us leave. I’m jonathan lawson,

Announcer: The young and the restless will continue.

Chelsea: Thank you.

[ Chelsea sighs ] The facility is– is very impressive. It’s bigger than I expected, kind of like a– a campus. Somewhat imposing from the outside, but as we walked through the doors, it felt more, um, welcoming than I imagined. And there were boys there connor’s age that seemed, um, they seemed at home there.

Billy: Sounds like so far, so good, then, right?

Adam: Well, the residential facility is just what the website promised. It’s all polished, upscale. It’s inviting on the surface. And then you look past it, and you see it for– for what it really is. It’s a big, shiny package to help sell their elite brand of therapy for top dollar.

Sally: Their reputation seems stellar.

Adam: Oh, come on, sally. You can pay for a reputation. That’s what pr is for.

Sally: Okay, can you tell me why they made you and chelsea leave?

Adam: I’m not even sure that I want to get into it.

[ Sally sighs ]

Sally: Yeah, I mean, if you need time, I understand. You’re just so upset, and I– I can’t help you… if you don’t tell me what happened.

[ Adam sighs ]

Adam: Okay. So, connor had his first session with the main ocd therapist. Chelsea and I, we met with him briefly. You know, he had certificates, diplomas all over the wall, which may as well be forgeries for all I know.

Chelsea: After connor’s initial session with the highly educated, highly decorated ocd specialist, we met with the doctors and the family therapist, and they briefed us on the specialists’ conclusions. They were– they were very kind and– and knowledgeable. It was encouraging. At first.

Billy: What do you mean? “At first”? What– what happened after that?

[ Chelsea sighs ]

Chelsea: Mm, after speaking with the ocd specialist, the doctors strongly encouraged us to allow their team to take over for the next few weeks… without either one of us around.

Billy: I don’t understand. Why would they do that?

Chelsea: Because, um, according to them… adam and I are two of the triggers for connor’s ocd.

Adam: They blamed everything on us. According to them, we did this to our son.

Nick: I’m sorry. I didn’t know.

Lily: No, that’s fine.

Nick: You know, it’s okay to be angry. I mean, take it from someone who has been on both sides of the equation, as recently with adam and sally… it can be tough. You know, for a while there it really stung.

Lily: Yeah, well, I mean, it’s your brother, so, you know, it’s like not only do you work together, but very awkward family gatherings.

Nick: Yeah, it was real fun in the beginning.

[ Lily laughs ] But I’m good now. Um, things have gotten better. They seem happy. Things are what they are. And I’m moving forward. I don’t expect you to embrace that yet, but at least look at it this way, you don’t have to deal with those family gatherings. It’s like salt in the wound.

Sally: How can they blame you and chelsea for connor’s ocd, and diagnose that so quickly?

Adam: Well, they didn’t declare it an official diagnosis. But, I mean, even if they had, who cares? I don’t believe a word that comes out of their mouths.

Billy: Did the therapist explain why they think that you might be a possible trigger for connor?

Chelsea: Because that’s what connor told them. Apparently, my psychotic breakdown caused him all of this trauma and all of this guilt, and his ocd, um, has convinced him that my suicide attempt was his fault.

Adam: Somehow the doctors, after spending a minute and a half with connor, by the way, have determined that he sees himself as a bad son, and he blames himself for all of his parents’ problems.

Sally: This all sounds so wrong, I–

Adam: Right?

Sally: And it’s a brutal conclusion to come up with after meeting with him so quickly. Unless–

Adam: Unless what?

Sally: That didn’t come from connor, did it?

Adam: Well, they claim that it did. But then again, they don’t have any credibility with me, so I’m not buying it. And it’s also– it’s poor business policy when you think about it.

Sally: What do you mean?

Adam: Who pays their salaries? I mean, who puts on this big deal, prestigious, overpriced treatment center? The same parents that they are trying to blame. Or, you know, maybe that is a scam, maybe it’s the guiltier that they can make us feel about screwing up our kids, the more money that we will just pump into their facility to fix them. I mean, no wonder they are so successful.

Sally: Adam… you know as well as I do that you will be happy to pay whatever it takes if they can help connor. This is not about the money. This is about you hurting.

Billy: Look, I can only imagine how devastating this must be. I don’t even want to think about… how I would feel if this were johnny or katie going through what connor is going through. But I think it’s important to remember that this current moment is– is temporary. This right here, right now, this is where it starts to get better.

Chelsea: You really believe that?

Billy: I do. I mean, you had a good feeling about the facility, right? You think connor’s in good hands?

Chelsea: Yeah, I do.

Billy: Okay, good, so let’s trust their reputation and trust your instinct. And I think it’s understandable to want to separate connor from a possible trigger. I mean, maybe they’re trying to give connor some space, and separate him to rule out that you are a trigger.

Chelsea: Yeah, maybe. I didn’t think of it like that. Maybe. Thanks, I’ll– I’ll hold onto that. Because I have to be honest with you, it’s breaking my heart to think that my son is in so much pain because of me.

[ Chelsea sighs ] ( )

Nick: I know, it’s, uh– it’s easy for me to sound all wise and philosophical about my breakup with sally. I’ve had time to get over it. It’s getting easier for me to see her with my brother. Whereas you and daniel and heather, it’s raw and new. Lily, the heart has an amazing ability to be resilient, and to heal itself if you can just let the past be the past, and look forward. And I’m going to shut up now.

[ Laughs ] I’m sorry.

Lily: What do you mean? Sorry for what?

Nick: You don’t need to hear this from me, you have dealt with your own heartbreak. You know the drill.

Lily: No, but I mean, it’s good to hear, right? It’s a good reminder, I mean, I don’t know, I’m not going to let this hold me back this time. I just want to focus on chancellor-winters, making myself better, you know? It’s like I’m given this opportunity, I just want to run with it and not waste it, right?

Nick: That is exactly what I’m trying to do with newman. And it’s great. And good for you for not wallowing like a lot of people would.

Lily: Well… [ Laughs ]

Nick: What?

Lily: Uh, no, I was just thinking about something that billy said earlier about my fighting spirit. And it was good to hear. I needed to hear it.

Nick: All right, billy abbott’s got some wisdom. We’ll get some points for him.

Lily: Yeah, he’s got some insane ideas, too, so…

Nick: I don’t doubt it. Anything can sound crazy until you’re ready to hear it.

Billy: So what’s next? What did they say is next for connor?

[ Chelsea sighs ]

Chelsea: Um, among other things, they’re going to start him, um, on this thing called erp treatment.

Billy: I don’t know what that is.

Chelsea: I didn’t either. Uh, erp stands for exposure and response prevention. So they put connor in a controlled environment, and slowly expose him to his fears. Not all at once, of course. Um, they’ll add things as he gets stronger, but they teach him how to deal with it.

Billy: So the thought process there is… build up his toolkit so the ocd isn’t in control of his compulsions?

Chelsea: Under a doctor’s guidance, yeah. So the compulsions become only some of his thoughts, not all of his thoughts.

[ Chelsea sighs ]

Billy: Sounds pretty intense.

Chelsea: Yeah. It’s overwhelming.

[ Sniffles ] Because it means connor has to be in pain. He has to be scared. He has to suffer, and I hate it, and I want to scream. I just want to scream, because my kid has to be in agony in order to get better.

[ Exhales heavily ]

Billy: They’re specialists, okay? These are trained specialists. They know what they’re doing, and they’ve helped so many people.

[ Chelsea sighs ] And they’re going to go slow. They’re not going to give connor any more than he can handle. Chelsea, he’s going to be okay. He’s gonna get through this, okay? He’s not only going to get through this, he’s going to come home safe and sound, and he’s going to amaze you, and he’s going to be better equipped. I think right now it’s important to make sure that we get you through this waiting period. And I’m not going to let you go through this alone.

Adam: It was all that I could do not to ask those doctors, if they had children… how they would feel if they were banned from seeing them when they were going through the scariest, most painful times of their life. And then for them to sit there in their– their quiet, condescending voices, and tell us that it’s better for our own son if we stay away from him. I mean, the whole ride back, I was planning to pull connor out of there, and I was gonna sue them all into bankruptcy.

Sally: Which you won’t do. You know why? Because as good as you think it would feel to go ballistic, all of your energy and your focus needs to be on your son, not on some lawsuit that connor would probably blame himself for, too.

[ Adam sighs ]

Adam: I mean, sitting in that office, and listening to what they were telling me, chelsea was a wreck. I could see connor was already on edge, just trying to make sense of another would-be solution just so we would stop worrying about him. I don’t mind how much– I wanted to– I just wanted to explode, I couldn’t do it.

Sally: No, you couldn’T. And you didn’T. You should be proud of yourself for proving that you can control your impulses when you need to.

[ Adam sighs ]

Adam: I don’t know what to do, sally.

Sally: No. Not yet. You’ve never been through anything like this. Which is exactly why you need to give yourself a chance to calm down. To let everything settle in, and do nothing until you’ve given your mind a chance to clear.

[ Adam sighs ]

Adam: I need to ask you a question. And I need you to tell me the truth. Am I wrong here? Am I angry at the wrong people? Is that what’s going on here? Is there a chance that they could be right?

Sally: I’m not really qualified to answer that, but–

Adam: Listen to me, I need to know for sure. What if they’re right? What if I failed my son?

[ Sniffles ] What if he is really better off without me? Huh? (Vo) dan made progress with his mental health…

Chelsea: You’ve already done so much for me, it’s not fair for me to ask for more.

Billy: No, you can do that, but then you’re definitely gonna have a fight on your hands.

Chelsea: Well, then I’ll just say thank you.

Billy: I’m a little afraid to ask, but how’s adam been in all of this?

Chelsea: He kept it together. Barely. But then I was busy worrying about connor, and also a nervous wreck over if and when adam was gonna lose it.

Billy: Hmm. But you got a good vibe from the facility, right? And you got good reason to trust and believe that he’s in good hands.

Chelsea: Billy, I’m being told the only way I can help my son is by staying away from him. It’s devastating.

Adam: The one thing that I know for sure… is that if I caused what connor is going through, then I– then I should be out of his life, okay? For his own protection. I mean, I was out of his life for a long time, and– and maybe he was– he was better off, you know? Because I will be damned if I’m gonna be responsible for causing him more pain than he is already going through, okay? You know what? Maybe I was never meant to be a father.

Sally: Hey, hey, adam. Adam. Look at me.

Adam: No, I’m not doing it.

Sally: Look at me, please. Adam, look at me. Adam.

Adam: You were meant to be a father. You were meant to be connor’s father. Who else could love him more or be more fiercely protective of him than you? No one. And everyone knows that. Even people that aren’t your biggest fan know that it is a fact that connor is your heart and soul.

[ Adam sniffles, sighs ]

Adam: I would die for him, okay?

Sally: Then live for him. Continue to be his champion, and give him anything and everything he needs to fight this.

Adam: But how does he fight this, sally? How will he manage this? What if he can’t? I want to fix it for him. I want to take it away. Something. Anything. But the thought that he’s gonna have to live with this… for the rest of his life…

Announcer: Next week on the young and the restless.

Lily: Lucy forgave you. Heather’s back in your bed again. So princess louisa served its purpose. And now it’s just another game. And I own it.

Jack: So we’re waiting for ashley, right? I mean, she is the topic, isn’t she?

Traci: I am scared to death for ashley.

Nikki: Forty wonderful, complicated, exciting years since we were first married. No one can spoil this night for us.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

Lois: Okay. Oh, ma, thank god you’re still here. I need you. Oh, can it wait?

[ Blows ] I’m already late. It’s about the wedding. Well, whatever it is, we’ll fix it later, I promise. Fine. I’ll just have to get married without a wedding dress.

[ Sighs ] Okay. You win. Mr. Corinthos. We meet again. Okay. Carly. Hey, molly. Um, as you can see, you just missed the lunch rush, so take a seat wherever you like, and I’ll have someone bring out a menu for you. Thanks. Oh, hey. Um, I wanted to tell you, you did a great job in court the other day… at jason’s arraignment. Oh, wow. I’m surprised to hear you say that. I would think you’d hold prosecuting jason against me. Who says I don’t? Yeah? Well, send her in. Mr. Cain. Deputy mayor ashford, what brings you by? When we spoke the other day, you said you’d be open to aurora promoting the city of port charles. I’m here to follow up. Well, look who it is. Good afternoon, jack. It is now. Why is that? I love being right. I told you you’d be back to see me. And here you are. Here we are! Yeah. Okay. I think I got this. Yeah? Sure about that? Actually, I might — I might just need a little help here, you know? Here, here. Yeah. I just wanted you to sit next to me.

[ Chuckles ] Really? Mm-hmm. I’ve missed this. Me too. I was afraid… that I would never have you here again in our home. You see? All that worry, that’s for nothing. Yeah. I love you. So much. I love you, too. Welcome back.

Ms. Ramirez, what brings you to the metro court? Business meeting. And, uh, they are officially late. Yeah? Well, I’m waiting for somebody, too. I don’t know if you want to wait with me? Yeah. Thank you. I would like to.

[ Both laugh ] I am always surprised by some people who just do not respect the value of other people’s time. But it doesn’t seem to be bothering you. I’m just waiting for a friend, you know? Business is business. What are you drinking? Um, I don’t know. What are you having? Scotch. I will have the same, please. Yeah. You don’t seem like the white wine type. Well, I find that business rivals don’t really respect a sauvignon blanc. Well, you know what? I’m sure your rivals are very impressed by you. Thank you. May I just make a personal observation? No. No, I’m just kidding. Go ahead, go ahead, go ahead. I just think that since we last met, you just seem lighter, happier. Is that right? Sit. Tell me everything. Well, when we decided to downsize the wedding… mm-hmm. …I called sandrine to tell her to stop working on alterations on lila’s dress. But now that dante is — is feeling better — thank god — and that we’re having the wedding that we originally planned, I called sandrine back, and I told her to start working on the dress, and she said — oh! There was a fire. No! Ma!

[ Gasps ] No! A broken pipe. It flooded everywhere. Right? Ma! No! Oh, god, it’s squirrels again! Worse. She said that the fabric is too old, that — that it’s falling apart, it won’t hold a seam. Bottom line, the dress cannot be altered. Okay, that is a setback, for sure. It’s more than a setback, ma. The dress can’t be worn. Game over. Brook lynn, bite your tongue. You know when things are impossible, that’s when we start to get creative, okay? There’s got to be some way to salvage some part of lila’s dress.

[ Lock clicks, door opens ] Dante: Hey! Dante! Sam: Be careful. Be careful. You’re home. I am, I am. Sam — she told you I was coming back, right? Yeah, but now you’re here. I am. You are, too. Nothing better, right? Nothing. Hey, guys? Where’s danny? I was assigned the case. I had to make the best argument I could. I know you were just doing your job. I mean, look, if — if jason were denied bail and dante didn’t wake up and exonerate him, I wouldn’t be in this good of a mood. But that’s not what happened. Jason’s free. Dante is home with sam and rocco and your niece and nephew. And they’re crazy about him. I just hope they’re not so excited to see him that they pop the stitches and sam has to take him back to the hospital. Oh, gosh, that would be awful. Molls! Guess who’s on time. Not just on time. You’re early. End times must be upon us. Hey, carly. Hi. All right, you guys, why don’t you just take a seat? Clearly, you can pick anywhere. And I’ll bring menus to you. Oh, um, carly, I know nina is back at crimson. A-are you okay? Uh, yeah. I’m better than ever. Really? Absolutely. I mean, I’m busy enough here, and drew’s a savvy businessman. I’m sure he had a reason for taking nina back. Since aurora is headquartered here, it benefits your company for port charles to be seen as the vital, thriving, culturally-rich city it is. As opposed to the smuggling mecca with outbursts of violence from organized crime? That is the image we’re trying to get away from. Yeah, well, I’m sure the, uh, recent shooting at selina wu’s warehouse didn’t help the situation. I’m really glad we’re having this chat. And why is that? There are some days when I really miss being police commissioner, and you’ve made it so I don’t miss law enforcement at all. Really, we should do this more often. Well, we got to figure out a way to make that happen. Starting with cleaning up the city’s image. I’m hoping aurora media will play a pivotal role in rebuilding the city’s image from the streets up.

They said the police commissioner was here to see me. So, uh, when did you take back your old job? It’s been a couple of months. Isn’t police commissioner a bit of a comedown, you know, international spy to small-town cop? Could be worse, you know? Could be wearing one of those jumpsuits.

[ Chuckles ] You don’t miss working intelligence? Well, sure. But I actually really enjoy local police work. How’s that even possible? I remember you back in the day, what you were like, the ambition. You were — you were downright scary. Am I scary now? You’re not not scary. You always were such a smooth talker. Well, I’m australian. It’s in the genes — like stamina and nudity. Oh, my god. What is it with you australians? I mean, literally, you have to hold a gun to your head to get you dressed. Is that why you’re here? You’re going to put a gun to my head? Well, I mean, not for that reason. Then why? Name came up, made me think of you. Pikeman. I want to rebrand the city, emphasize the art scene, our gorgeous location, its architect–

[ Telephone rings ] I thought I told my assistant no interruptions. I’m so sorry. Don’t blame your assistant. I won’T. Who the hell are you? Drew, this is special agent john cates with the fbi. Deputy mayor ashford, always a pleasure. I’m sure it is. As you can see, I’m in a meeting right now. Agent cates, what do you want? I need you to answer a few questions about your brother — jason morgan. Oh, my god, could you be any more insensitive? What? She’s fine. If she were fine, do you think she’d let on? I mean, this is carly for god’s sake. Honestly, I doubt carly is crying many tears over her breakup with drew. And how is that your business? Admit it, you’re just as curious. You know how I know? You haven’t even asked me about — oh, my god! How did it go at the doctor? I’m sorry tj and i couldn’t be there. No, it’s totally fine, honestly. I’m laying there, and they have the nerve to call it a gown. They put that goop all over my belly and then roll that electric eye over it, and that’s it. Totally fine to be doing that on my own, believe me. Yeah. Hi, joss. Hi, molly. Hey. Aren’t you sick of this place? [ Chuckles ] No. What’s up with you and joss? Honestly, I have no idea what her problem is. A-and the bodice is completely unsalvageable? How about those gorgeous pleats? Ohh. How popped and yellowed. And the crinoline? Oh, no! Wait. What? They’re intact? You’re sure? Oh, you know what? I’m going to put my daughter on the phone with you right now. Yes? Hello? Uh-huh. Oh, my god, yes, that would be amazing. Yeah, sure. I could come in for a fitting anytime. Oh, no, I just — I’m so sorry. I cannot come in right now. I-I have a-a crucial meeting right now. I’m sorry, ma. Okay. Well… bye. Okay. Ooh! Ooh. Strawberry.

[ Chuckles ] Mm. Mmm. Oh! Oh, I’m late! Mm! I’m in the mood to celebrate a little bit. What is the special occasion? Mm, my son is a cop, my oldest son, and he was shot in the line of duty. Oh. Yeah. And it was touch-and-go for a-a bit, but, uh, w-we thought, you know, he wasn’t going to make it. B-but he did? Yeah, he did. To your son. Yes. Uh, to dante. To dante. Mm, is he still in the hospital? No, he’s — he’s — he’s home today, and, uh, it’s going to take him a while to make a full recovery. Okay, but that’s wonderful. I’m really happy for both of you. Thank you very much. Um, I’m so happy. And, you know, that reminds me of what you said, that there is nothing more important than making sure your child knows you love them. Been thinking about that a lot lately. Everything’s better with you and blaze? Yeah. And no.

You can’T. That was? Danny said he had to do something. Did he mention what that was? No, but that’s just how he is. Not big on explanations. All right. No big deal. I will just shoot him a text. You can’T. Why not? Mommy took danny’s phone when she grounded him. Ooh. Ouch. Uh, yeah. You’re right. I did do that. That’s okay. I-I know where to start. You think he went to see…? Why would aunt carly know where danny is? Dante. Welcome home. Hey! There he is! You’re back. Hey! Danny, where have you been? Eckert’S. I went to grab doughnuts to celebrate dante’s homecoming. I don’t want you to think less of me for saying this. Well, there’s only one way to find out. Yeah. Um, but I… I’m still struggling with the mixed feelings about alison… being gay? Yeah. Um… yeah. I wish I could wake up tomorrow morning and just feel enlightened a-and comfortable with that part of who she is. Takes time. Did it take you time with kristina? No. Not really. See? No, it’s just that I think, with kristina, you know, it took her so long to tell me because she was afraid that I was going to reject her, which I would never do. I feel like it’s a little bit different with alison because I’m not altogether convinced that it’s not a reaction to the harassment and the — the abuse that she got from her former manager. Linc brown? Yeah. That’s the one.

[ Groans ] Now, I-I know that you accepted her right away, but did you ever wonder with kristina, did you ever ask why? I’d be lying if I said I never wondered whether her bad experiences changed her and made her who she is. And? You know what I learned? It happens to all of us. Kristina is, was, and always will be…kristina. And she is charming and beautiful. She gets that from her dad.

[ Laughs ] Can I ask you something that I think you may not like? Uh…hold on.

[ Laughs ] Okay. All right. Do you think, uh, you know what your daughter wants more than she does? Yeah, of course I think that. Of course she doesn’t, uh, exactly agree with me all the time. To daughters. To daughters. Click.

[ Laughs ] Deputy mayor ashford, if you wouldn’t mind. I’d like her to stay. I got nothing to hide. So… it’s fine by me. Mr. Cain, have you heard from your brother? I have not. Not since the charges were dropped. No. What about before? The only time I saw jason was at his arraignment. And you didn’t speak then? Actually, no. To your own brother? We’re not close. Then why go to the arraignment? We have people in common. I was there for them. And that, agent cates, is the extent of our contact. Yeah, I’m sorry, mr. Cain. I find that hard to believe. Pikeman? Come on. Don’t tell me you don’t know what it is. Of course I know. Purveyors of armaments, defense systems, and skilled mercenary soldiers. Very lucrative business. It was. Still is I’m sure. We were investigating them. You were? Well, the wsb was. Uh, sadly, I no longer count myself as part of that august institution. I’ll tell you what really amazes me, like, truly… yeah? …Is the fact that you were able to be the director of the wsb and head up pikeman, like, at the same time. I what? Oh, that was terrible. That was terrible mock astonishment. I mean, you’re not even trying. No, I-I don’t see how one can head a global law enforcement agency and a paramilitary defense contractor at the same time. But the fact that you think I could have, I’m quite flattered. You see, pikeman has weapons. Wsb needs weapons. That way, we were able to… keep doing that. Like, I-I seriously — I keep referring to the wsb as “we.” Institutional espionage, it’s addictive, it’s a hard habit to break. Yeah. So a partnership with pikeman gave the wsb access to untraceable weapons, which allowed them to meddle in countries that they were supposed to leave alone. You set it up perfectly. I did? Wow, I-I must be… really good. You’re one of the best. And then you got yourself caught because you couldn’t leave port charles alone. Why? What’s so important here? You were in the courtroom, so you didn’t see it. But josslyn and i got into it right before jason’s arraignment. She was going on and on and on about how jason just had to be innocent. Which, it turns out, he was. Well, yeah, but no one knew that at the time. But did josslyn listen? Nope. She was being totally unreasonable. Dex is becoming a cop. What? Are you sure? Yes, I’m sure. He was here, and he was reading the paperwork right over there. So what happens when sonny finds out? What happens if sonny takes him back into the pine barrens and you’re not there this time to stop him? Oh, man. I mean, I-I could try and talk him out of it, but, I mean, if he’s that determined — dex should be able to do whatever dex wants to do. But he can’t because of sonny. The fbi should be investigating sonny, and they should put him away in jail for the end of time, like he deserves. Kristina, no, no, just — just leave it. Heard you talking trash about my dad. In a private conversation. Your voices carried. You might want to walk that back. Why would i want to do that? A lot of reasons. Everything my father has ever done for you.

You are such an ingrate. I’m sorry. What am I supposed to be grateful to sonny for? He has been wonderful to you. You grew up in his house. He was my stepdad, and I was a child. I had to live there. Josslyn, he — he has always loved you and treated you like you were one of his own daughters. And what do you do? You tear him down behind his back? Oh, call him over. I’ll say all of this right to his face. It wouldn’t be my first time. You paint him like he is some terrible person. My father has donated wings to hospitals and — uh-huh, uh-huh. And where’s the money coming from that he donates these wings? Uh, his — his coffee imports? I’m not discussing what my father may or may not be doing with his business. Ohh! May or may not? Yeah… about which none of us have any firsthand knowledge. You might not. You do? Okay, we’re not having that conversation here. You guys need to take a step back. No, no, no, please, josslyn. Enlighten me. I really can’t wait to hear this. W-what do you think you know about what my father does? I know that your father is a vicious thug and a murderer. Uncle sonny. Hi! Brook lynn. I did not know your mom was bringing you here. Well, I wasn’t, but she was meeting someone here already. That would be me. Oh, really? Yeah. Lois cerullo. Nice to meet you. Natalia. Nice to meet you. Well, I’m sorry we’re late. We had a wedding dress emergency. Well, that happens. Does it? I’ve never heard of a wedding dress emergency. Well, now you have. Ms. Ramirez, let’s, um, let’s go chat somewhere a little bit more private. So I hear that blaze is the new face of deception. That is exciting. Yeah, yeah. We’ll see. You know what? Um… let’s take that table over there while these two catch up. Have a nice lunch. She seems… nice. Scout, rocco, since we eat doughnuts with our hands, why don’t the two of you go upstairs and wash yours? Is danny in trouble? No, baby. Danny’s not in trouble. Come on, scout, our business is this way. Let’s go mind it. Okay, I’m going to ask you this, and I need you to tell me the truth. And know that whatever you say to me, you’re not in trouble. When you went to go get the doughnuts, did you go and see your father? No. Okay. You believe me? Shouldn’t I? Yeah. I just… didn’t think you would. How about this? I’m actually going to give you your phone back, but under one condition. I am going to put the locator on so I know where you are. So not only do you not believe me, you do not trust me, either. No, danny, i do believe you. And I trust you. I just — I want to protect you. From my own father. Your father isn’t someone you should be around right now. Danny, jason leads a — a dangerous life. I’ve got homework. Enjoy your doughnuts.

[ Door opens ] What? No, look, you’re the mom. So what you say goes. I just… respectfully, I-I think you might have made a mistake there. As you said, you and your brother have people in common, most notably sam mccall and carly spencer. Both of you were married to one, and both of you were involved with the other. None of which merits investigation from the fbi. I was getting to that. Well, hurry. Both you and your brother have been charged with federal crimes. Your brother went to prison after a no-contest plea. And you went to prison after pleading guilty for insider trading. You were granted early release, which means that if jason is involved in any criminal activities and you’re implicated, you could be sent back to pentonville. What’s not to love about port charles? There’s so much to do in this city, so much to discover. Like, say, a mission report of that defection that you and I worked together. Do you remember that? How could I forget? It was a dismal failure. But then you found out I kept a hard copy, and you couldn’t let that get out, could you? Because it went south? Uh, I’ll have you know that I’ve been part of more than one failed mission. But none of those resulted in $10 million disappearing. Oh, yeah, I remember the $10 million, too. It’s funny now, eh, because back then, we thought — we thought that was a lot of money. We did. Yeah. Well, I mean, it’s enough to provide seed money for pikeman. That’s why you had to destroy the report and silence me in the process. Right. Yeah, so if I’m such a-a diabolical mastermind, why are you still alive? And if you’re the only person who could tie me to the missing money, why wouldn’t I have just…killed you? Well, it’s not for lack of trying. Or maybe that’s what someone wants you to believe. Oh. Saying you’re being framed? Oh, like you haven’t? I mean, it does happen to the best of us. Someone didn’t like the direction I was taking the wsb. Now I’m in here. Now, I don’t know. Maybe you can help me get out. Maybe you can find out who framed me… for old time’s sake. I’ll consider it… if you give me something in return. Such as? A name. You in here, someone’s got to be running pikeman. Who?

Show her, molly. You’re the ada. You must have access to the file on the assault of cyrus renault. Show kristina. You want to talk about thugs and murderers? Cyrus renault is at the top of that list. He used to be. Maybe he still is. It doesn’t matter. You should look at the file. And you should take a really good look at the photos so you can see what your beloved daddy did to a helpless old man who couldn’t fight back. Okay, this is not accomplishing anything. We are going to go. Molly, show her, and then show her all of the information from all of the files on all of the lives that sonny has ruined and all of the people he has had killed. Josslyn. Then maybe you’ll see him for who he really is. I can’t be around you. If you want me to apologize, I can’T. Okay, kristina is pregnant right now. She cannot handle this kind of stress. And even if she weren’t, what good does it possibly do rubbing her nose in how you feel about sonny? He’s her father. She loves him. She has every right to. I think that’s a record — two — two seconds, and you wrote natalia off. Oh, no. I’m as open-minded as the next person. Oh, I can see that. I mean it. Okay. I’m willing to give anyone a chance. But, sonny, come on. I’ve been in the music business a little bit too long. I can spot a stage mother from a mile away. And I’m telling you, that natalia, she’s enmeshed in her daughter’s life. So much so, that poor kid is not going to be able to have a life of her own. And no one can say that about you? There is no questioning how close brook lynn and I are, but my daughter is her own person, and I accept the beautiful, brilliant, vibrant human being that she has become. And she is that. Let’s see if that natalia can say the same about her own kid, hmm? So what are your concerns about blaze becoming the face of deception? Well, she’s already a star. She is. Rising star. Higher and higher every day. So you’ll forgive me if I question some of your managerial choices. I’d be happy to answer any questions you may have. Fire away. Okay, well, let’s, um, let’s just start with the most obvious, which is that you have this wedding that’s taking up all of your time. So will you even have time to focus on what’s best for my daughter? Yes. Next question. Let’s just stick with this one. What if you had a wedding dress emergency when you had a meeting with a record label or a venue manager? The more you forbid danny to see his father, the more he’s going to want to see his father. I don’t know what else to do. Do you have any suggestions? Talk to jason? I don’t know. Look, I-I may be biased right now because, technically, the guy saved my life. I can’t tell you who’s running pikeman because I don’t know. May I remind you that dante falconeri and i were targeted by hume? Hume was employed by pikeman working under your orders. Well, if you have any proof of that, by all means, show it to my attorneys. I’m sure they’d love to see it, as would I. Let me ask you, anna, do you have any evidence directly tying me to pikeman? No? And why do you think that is? I may not have anything to tie you to pikeman now, but I can certainly tie you to it back in the day.

hey, guys, I have some really good news. Olivia brought over some dinner, but I was thinking that maybe we would do something a little different. Since it is a celebration, maybe we could have dessert before dinner. Unless, of course, you want to have dinner before dessert. Show of hands? Dinner first? No? Dessert first? Uh-huh. Okay. Dessert it is. Danny, can you give scout the doughnuts? Dante gets first choice. I’m going to give my first choice to scout. Is there a pink one with sprinkles? What do you think? What do you say, scout? Thanks, dante. And welcome home. No. Uh, listen, thank you — all of you. This is the best welcome home ever. Now, pass those doughnuts around because I kind of want one of those. I haven’t had one in a while. You want to investigate me, agent cates, you go for it. You sift through every detail of my life. You can audit my company. I got absolutely nothing to hide. I’m just going to give you a little bit of advice. Just make sure you dot every “I” and you cross every “t,” because I’m going to make this very public. And I’m pretty sure the fbi doesn’t want you bringing on that kind of exposure for them. Thank you, mr. Cain. Appreciate your time and cooperation. Well, you’re very welcome. So we’re done? For now. Oh, if you do hear from your brother… I won’T. …Or obtain any information, give me a call. You want to bring down jason, that’s on you.

[ Door opens ]

[ Door closes ] Who do you hate more? Your brother or very special agent cates? Well… I definitely don’t hate my brother. He just, uh — he brings on his own trouble, and I don’t want to be dragged down into it. Heard. Thank you for staying, by the way. Oh, I’m so glad I did. You tearing into special agent cates, that was a thing of beauty. That mission report… uh, the one that I allegedly tried to have you killed over? That one. It clearly states how you were instrumental in planning that operation where the $10 million went missing. So you were in a perfect position to sabotage the op and abscond with the money. Now, everyone else involved in that op, they were either sidelined or demoted, but not you. Your career skyrocketed. I mean, it’s almost as if someone in a much, much, much higher position at the bureau not only approved of your actions, but they were rewarding you for them. Out of the — the goodness of their heart? Yeah, they were rewarding you in positions that were advantageous to both you and to pikeman. So pikeman is far too valuable to collapse in your absence. So who did you hand it off to? Who is running it now? Anna, how I wish I could help you. But alas, I’m afraid you’re wasting your time. Guard! Police commissioner’s done with me. Blaze wanted to keep it to smaller venues for now and then move on to larger ones once we sold those out. After all, it’s better to sell 300 tickets to a 200-person venue than it is to sell 500 tickets to one that holds 1,000. But I happen to believe that she can sell out 1,000-plus-seat venue. So do I. But this is blaze’s choice. And I backed her because I believe in her. Look, blaze is my client, okay? She and I will decide what direction to take her career. Okay, she might be your client, but this is my child. It’s my job to safeguard her happiness. You’re not going to get an objection from me there. We all want blaze to be happy. Okay, well, to that end, I want to make sure that she doesn’t publicize something that she can’t take back later. So I want blaze’s private life to remain private. Are we clear? I don’t manage blaze’s private life. And neither do you. Whoever she decides to spend her time with and whoever knows about it, that’s up to blaze. Look, a word of advice. Yeah, I don’t need your advice, but thank you. Trust me, you do. Sonny is blaze’s girlfriend’s father, and he loves his little girl. Thinks she hung the moon. I don’t think he’d appreciate you trying to keep their relationship a secret. Thank god. I can see the relief in your face. You know what? I can hear it in your voice. I’ve been relying on dante a lot lately, not just as a son, but, you know, as a friend. Really? How so? He has a way of getting through to me. And I need that in my life right now. You’re right about sonny. But kristina refuses to see it. And of course she does. Sonny is her father. Well, don’t tell me I have to go apologize. No, no, you don’t have to apologize. I mean, kristina is not a delicate flower. And she gave just as good as she got. But, joss, I’m worried about you. You were so angry about the situation with sonny and dex, and I get it. But all that rage you have inside, it’s only hurting you. Of course I’m filled with rage. Sonny sent dex to kill cyrus, and he was going to do it, but he felt like he didn’t have a choice. And I can’t be with someone who can do something like that. And that is the choice that you made. And I am proud of you for it. I really am. Even if I’m miserable? Well, that’s how you know it wasn’t an easy choice to make. And as far as whether it was worth it or not, only you know the answer to that. All I know is that I still love dex, and I miss him.

[ Sighs ] I understand. And I’ve been there. But, mom, I’m terrified… because he’s going to become a cop. And there’s a real chance that sonny will have him killed.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

Mhm.

Good morning, Dad. Good morning. No, it’s a great morning. It’s a great morning because you’re finally home. Listen, coffee’s there, and I whipped up an amazing breakfast, which I will bring out. Okay? All your favorites. All right. Thank you, Dad. You’re welcome. Yeah, you’re welcome. I’m starving. How’d you sleep?

Um, great. Better than I have in months. I can imagine. You’re finally in your own room again. Yeah. You’re on bed. This is amazing. I just, I can’t believe that it’s April. I mean, three months wasted. I feel like I should still be telling people Happy New Year. Well, son, it is your new year. You know, because you’re finally a free guy again.

Hey, did you have fun over at, uh, what’s his name? Buddy? Buddy’s house? Yeah. Yeah, yeah, I just hung out with a couple friends and they actually caught me up on all the cool viral videos that I missed while I was locked up. It’s good. It’s good. It’s good that you’re reconnecting with your friends again.

Yeah, make it up for lost time. Yeah, reconnecting was really great.

Well, your physical therapist was obviously impressed. And you’ve reached almost, what, 100 percent of your goals? Does that mean maybe I can stop going soon? You heard what she said, honey. You have a few more sessions, but you’re doing great. Listen, I’m, I’m really proud of your hard work. Are you proud enough to give me my phone back and let me leave the house by myself?

No. Not yet. Awesome. Well, at least I can be alone in my room, Mom. Honey. Holly!

Oh, I understand, Mr. Shinn. I know all too well the pain of losing a child. So I can’t imagine how terribly difficult this must be for you and your wife, losing your son, Lee. Yes, my brother Stefan has been put in jail, unfortunately, because he’s been in cahoots with Clyde Weston and his, um, drug ring. I know this must be dealt with, and rest assured, it will be.

Okay, so for my new Lady W Daily Horoscope page, you ready? Starting with Pisces, because I’m a Pisces. Hey, I’m a Pisces too. Chadwick! Well, perhaps you’ll want to take this to heart. Uh, probably not. Okay, here goes. Pickles will be a great source of joy for you this week. Tantric is not a cuss word you want to be using around the office.

Although it isn’t a cuss word at all, really. What it is is exhausting.

Okay, if you prefer, I can leave the tantric stuff out. You’re welcome. Chad, Leo. Good morning, Ev. Bobby, fellow Spectator employee. It’s Evan. What are you doing here? Well, uh, considering what’s been going on recently, I’ve been working from home, as you know. Um, but I thought I’d share this news with you in person since it directly affects you.

Me? Yeah. I was talking to my sources at Salem PD and they told me Stefan is in jail. What do you mean he’s in jail? I, I, I haven’t heard anything about that. There’s nothing out there yet about that. Do you mind telling us why? Chadwick’s brother is in jail? Not that it’s my business to ask, but he seems a bit too rattled by the news to do anything other than knit his brow and turn quite pale.

Chadwick, are you alright? No, I’m fine. It’s, I’m just, I’m, uh, Yeah, I’m in a bit of shock. I guess I shouldn’t be. Um, well, what do you, what do you know, Everett? Why is Stefan in jail? He confessed. To running drugs for Clyde Weston. Well, well,

I have to be on my way. Uh, Clyde meaning? Oh, and several more after that, actually. Wow, you’re working hard. No choice, really. Well, you know, now that we have a kid and all, just expenses are piling up. Yeah, I know. And my photography business isn’t quite raking in the money yet, so But it will. I’m sure in no time it’s gonna take right off.

Hey, you two. Hey, Stephanie. Hey. Oh, you brought the baby with you. We always do. Oh, look at him. He’s so sweet. And hey, you ever need a babysitter? Hey. Don’t hesitate to call. I miss being around babies. And kids. I especially miss being around Thomas and Charlotte. Yeah, I’m sure you do. I miss a lot of things, actually.

God, that sounded so self pitying. I just, I’m, uh, I’m going through a rough time. Is it about Everett? Did something happen? Yeah, something sure did. I was totally blindsided.

Well, hey. I didn’t think you’d be in today. Well, I’m not. I’m not officially. Uh huh. What’s all that stuff? I got it from my storage. It has all of my divorce documents in it, along with some other things like my receipts and tax docs. Right, right. From when you were living in Seattle with Robbie. Right. From that very awful time.

Although it did have its moments. Yeah. Listen, I, um, I’m sorry. I’m sorry for what Vincent found. Oh, don’t be, because you know why? Vincent is misinformed. I am not still legally married to Bobby Stein. Somewhere in this box, there’s the proof.

Extend through the hourglass. So are the days of our lives.

Ah, that was fast. I told you I was starving. That was good. Thanks, Dad. You are welcome. So, uh, hey, what are you, what are you doing for spring break? You got plans? Or no, I thought I would still be locked up in the halfway house. So I didn’t make any. Right. Well, I have an idea. This weekend, the Cubbies are playing.

And they’re playing the Dodgers. So it’s gonna be a good game, and I was thinking maybe You wanna go? Yeah! Yeah? Yeah! Yeah, that sounds like fun. Good, good. Actually, I have to find my mitt, though, in case we get foul balls. You have to find it. Can’t find your mitt? You can have Dad’s mitt. Okay. Alright. Thanks.

Sure.

You know, buddy, I know, I know recently you’ve probably felt that like nobody believed you about the drugs and that no one was in your corner. And I understand how rough that must have been, but I want you to know that I, I’m proud of the way you handled it. Even when I stole mom’s phone and broke out of that halfway house?

No, I was not proud of that part, but my point is we make mistakes, right? I make mistakes, but it’s how we atone for them and amend and learn from our mistakes that builds character. And you have a hell of a lot of character, son. I’m glad you think so, dad. I do. I do, and I think you need to take, you know, the past and put it behind you.

Yeah, that’s, yeah. Why, why, why are you saying it like that? I just, I guess because I’m nervous to go back to school. Now that I have a phone, I can see what all the kids are saying about me and about what happened. Yeah, but you were, you know, you’re real friends. They, they, they They stood up for you, right?

Yeah, yeah, they did. Actually, Ted, do you mind if I take off for a while and I go hang out with them? Uh, sure. Yeah, which, which friends? Um, Ian and Aaron, the same friends I was with last night. We were actually, we were gonna go to the mall and check out some used video game deals. Okay, yeah, no, that, that sounds good.

I can give you a lift, because I’m on my way out. Totally fine, I can walk. It’s fine. Thank you. You can walk, okay. Alright, take care. Thanks, Dad. Have fun, man. Thanks.

Yes, finally! You found it? I found it. Decree of Divorce. Look at it, right there. That’s it, you found it. And you said you would. I gotta tell you, I am relieved to not be sleeping with a married woman. Don’t even joke like that.

So, Everett Is actually Bobby Stein. Apparently so. But he has no memory of being married to Jada. Claims he never laid eyes on her until they met here, in Salem. Wow, that is strange. And complicated. I don’t suppose that Jada ever really mentioned much about her marriage to Bobby? Nothing in depth about their marriage or divorce.

Well, it was obviously a very painful time for her. And now she finds out that I was the other woman. The one who came between her and her husband. Except, he doesn’t believe he ever was her husband. Anyway, it’s just, it’s crazy complicated, like you said. Hey, I hope for your own peace of mind you find forgiveness.

I hope so too. Because, You know, we’ll never really know whatever it was going through, will we? I just think that people shouldn’t judge unless they’ve walked in someone’s shoes.

Anyway, um, I wish I could stay in here more, but I have to meet a client now. Oh, of course. Stephanie, it was so nice to see you. You too. And good luck. Thanks. Hey, come here. Hey.

I’m really sorry you’re going through this, Steph. Yeah, well, I’m also sorry for the way I’ve handled it. Why do you say that? Well, it seems every time I Try to talk to Jada, she just gets more and more upset with me. See, she blames me for not knowing that Everett was married when we got together. Wonders why I didn’t do a background check.

Why I didn’t think it was odd that I never met his friends or family. And now that I know that. He cheated on her, blew up their marriage. Well, she’s furious that I haven’t turned my back on him.

Hey, so thanks for meeting with me this morning. Oh, of course. And coincidentally, I ran into Stephanie just a bit ago. Oh, did you? Yeah, I was having breakfast with Erica and the baby and she just walked in and she told us all about Everett and Bobby and how angry you were with her. Yeah. And him. Yeah, and I’m sure she played the victim role.

Poor Stephanie. So confused. Lost. Terrible luck with men. Well, she seemed, uh Well, she seemed really sad about the whole deal. I mean, why wouldn’t she be? But don’t worry, I didn’t let her know that you had just called, or let on to believe that I had known anything about what she was telling us. I just want you to know, I do keep client confidentiality very, very sacred.

Well, I do appreciate your discretion, but I just discovered this. So as you can see, Bobby and I are in fact legally divorced. Actually, I spoke with Rafe’s friend Vincent this morning and more details are coming to light. What details? Unfortunately, this is a legal divorce decree. But the one filed didn’t have Robert’s signature, only yours.

So, technically, you are still married to Mr. Stein. Well,

EJ confirmed that, uh, that Stefan confessed and was arrested. But he, uh, he declined to comment any further. Last time I saw Stefan, he was really drunk. It was an emotional mess. And, um Not knowing that he was involved in a drug rig and working under Clyde. I guess that makes sense. I don’t know, maybe it was a cry for help.

I’m sorry. I’ve got to go. I’ve got a lead on a story at Saxton’s I have to check out. Later, Gators. Okay, so I, I wrote up a story. Are we going to post it? Of course. You sure? Last time it looked like Stefan was involved in the Bistro drug ring, you asked me to look the other way. He was obviously not innocent that time either, so I don’t know.

Maybe you prefer I cover this up too. I’m sorry, excuse me. What, what the hell did your brother just say to you? The bistro, the OD, everything. It’s out of the piece, period. Damn it, Chad. That is outrageous. Not only is it outrageous, it is unfair to Holly Jonas. It is unfair to every single victim of the people who are perpetrating this.

How can you not see that? Yeah, how can you not see that? I call the shots. Now get back to work. And you, stay in your own lane from now on. Keep it down, baby. Come on, baby. Getting out of here.

So, you’ll do what you have to do. Listen, this is an assault on the integrity of this paper. Do what you have to do, Everett.

I will.

So, the Lamira board got wind of Stefan’s arrest. No surprises. And let me guess, the stocks are down, right? Oh, way down. And they are furious. They’re demanding that Stefan resign immediately as CEO, or they’re going to invoke the morality clause in his contract and kick him out. You can’t blame them. I don’t.

Not at all. They’ve been working hard to recreate a positive image for their customers and clients, and Stefan being connected to a drug ring, it’s, it’s, it’s the last thing that Tamira needs. EJ, you don’t think

What? Say it. I wonder if your brother’s responsible for the drugs that put Holly in a coma. It could be. All I do know is that Stefan helped Clyde traffic the drugs through the bistro because Clyde threatened to kill Gabby if he didn’t fall in line. In other words, He was trying to save his wife’s life.

Great. That doesn’t make it right. Yeah, well, none of this is right. Brady. Brady, this is a bad time. Well, given that my son lost three months of his life, you’re going to listen to what I have to say. Okay. What do you want, Brady? Nicole, I want what I already demanded. Alright? And since my demand seems to be going ignored, I’m I’m gonna remind you again, I want a public apology from E.

J. DiMera to Tate Black. Furthermore, I want D. A. DiMera to admit, with full remorse and full regret, that he was wrong. Egregiously so. To accuse my son of a crime that he did not commit that put him through hell. That’s what I want. That’s what I’m gonna get. For my son, for my son’s family. Do you have a problem with that, EJ?

But I don’t understand. I have the divorce decree right here. How is it not valid? Because Robert never signed the divorce papers. Right. And no one would have ever known that had the error not been discovered by Ray’s friend. Yeah, come on. Oh, it’s just for now. Oh, look, it would have come out eventually. I mean, you need that paper to be legit if you ever want to remarry again.

I mean, isn’t it better just to get it all over with now? Damn, I just, I can’t believe this is happening right now. Linda, this is not an insurmountable problem, okay? Not at all. Vincent already sent over the paperwork. All you have to do is get Robert Stein to sign them. Okay, I am going to do that. I’m going to do that right now.

Look, since the raid on the bistro didn’t actually uncover anything, I chose to believe my brother when he said he was innocent. Now, in hindsight, knowing what we know now, that was a mistake. That was my mistake. I own that. But no, we’re not going to cover anything up. You can write your damn story. Good.

Hey. Steph. Hey. Hope I’m not interrupting. No. What’s up? Well, I came to tell you that I decided to stay on as the Spectator’s PR person. That is great news. However ever it is, you and I discussed. I think it’s best if Chad be my primary point of contact. Okay, yeah. Um, makes sense. Oh, uh, excuse me. Sorry. Bobby, uh, Everett, or whatever you’re calling yourself.

I need you to meet me at the pub, right now. I can’t, I’m at work. It’s urgent, it won’t take more than five minutes of your time. Fine, I’ll see you soon.

I gotta run. More on the story? Not sure. But, uh, take a look at what I wrote. If you like it, post it. I’ll be back soon. What was that about?

I have no problem making a public apology to Tate. I didn’t think you would. Given what he’s been through, thanks to your bias against him, and your daughter’s deceit. Sweetheart, do you need anything? Nope, um, I’m just gonna take a walk around the garden. Hey, what are you doing? Shh, your

dad is here. What, my dad is in there? Yeah. Did he know you were coming here? No, no, no, no. Of course not. No, I told him I was going to the mall. And by the way, I’m sorry for throwing pebbles at your window, but since you don’t have a phone, it’s No, it’s, it’s okay. You’re just lucky I was in my room. Hello. I know.

Speaking of phones, I have a little surprise for you. Hmm. Oh my, is this a burner? Uh huh. Oh, And I already put my phone number in there, so we can talk anytime you just have to keep Damn right I will. You’re a lifesaver, Tate.

Ah! Look who’s here! It is the cutest father son duo on the planet. I’m Leo. And this guy, always giving me the sweetest, cutest little gummy smile. Hey Jude, what do you think of my new scarf? Oh, he’s unimpressed. What do you think of it? Snazzy, huh? And get this, I got it on sale at 99. In fact, everything in that store is on sale for at least 40 percent off right now.

If you want to go do a little shopping, I’m happy to watch Junior here for a minute. After all, I am his fairy godfather. He and I have a special connection, don’t we, my little sweet potato? That’s a very kind offer, but, uh, Sloane and I, uh, I’m kind of budgeting right now. We got a lot of expenses. Ah, yes.

Expenses. I’ll get you every time. Yeah. Well, moving off the crass subject of finances, that christening, what a marvelous ceremony. Truly, I was really honored to be included. Thank you. And thank you for such kind words. Well, I can be quite eloquent when the spirit moves me.

So, you’re doing okay? Adjusting to life on the outside? Uh, yeah, I’m doing so much better than just adjusting. Holly, I’m so relieved to be out of the halfway house. Weird people, stupid rules, cringy food. I mean it was beyond horrible. Tate, I’m really sorry. It’s okay. I’m out now. And I get to hang out with you.

So, Some spring break, right? Yeah, it was a total waste. I’m so not ready to go back to school. Yeah, me neither, but we don’t really have a choice. There is one good thing, and it’s our parents can’t keep us separated while we’re there. I know, right? So, how about we make a pact? What do you mean? Okay, um, let’s agree to find each other between periods.

And we’ll hold hands in the halls and talk. And then, and then for lunch we’ll find a really private secret space to, you know, be together with no one staring at us or anything. I have the perfect spot under the oak tree at the far end of the quad. Yes, that’s perfect. But in the meantime

Do you have the gardeners? Hey, why don’t we sneak up to my room before anyone sees us? And I’ll be sure to lock the door this time. Yeah, yeah, I’m down. Let’s just make sure the coast is clear.

Listen, Brady, I told Holly that she not only needs to apologize to Tate, but also to you and Teresa. Well, yeah, you need to make that clear to your husband as well. Although I will, as I said, issue a public apology to your son, do bear in mind that I went where the evidence pointed and did what the law allowed.

No, I will not bear that in mind, EJ, because the reason the evidence pointed towards my son is because of your bias against him, because of your hatred for Okay, okay, okay, stop. Both of you, please.

Excuse me. Honey. Look, none of this would have gotten out of hand if Holly didn’t do drugs in the first place. Or if she immediately told us the truth when she woke up from the coma and was lucid. And Tate screwed things up because he covered for Holly. In the beginning, anyway. But EJ, look, the truth is out now.

And the kids need us to be united. So we need to set a good example and do the right thing.

Well said, Nicole. And I agree that we all need to take the high road. So, Brady. I apologize for having accused your son of a crime it turns out he did not commit. The DA’s office will issue an appropriate statement as soon as possible. I look forward to that.

Hi, Jada. What, uh, what’s this about? It’s about a personal matter. I’ve hired Sloane Peterson as my lawyer. Okay. Hello, Mr. Stein. Uh, name is Lynch. Everett Lynch. Not according to the divorce papers. What divorce papers? Ours. I asked you for a divorce when I found out you were cheating on me. How many times do I have to tell you this?

I don’t remember you. Okay, so why would I remember being married, much less divorced? Well, I guess that last part is understandable. Apparently, you and I never actually got divorced. Under the law, we are still married.

Okay, well, uh, we’ll walk you out.

Take it. What the hell are you doing? My God. Holly. I can’t believe this.

I’m such an idiot for letting my brother use me like that. And then this story. Like anytime I think the DiMeras are rebuilding their image, something like this happens.

Hey, you okay? You distracted? Yeah, sorry. It’s about Everett. Yeah. That makes sense. Chad, it’s all such a mystery. Is he Everett? Is he Bobby? Should I hate him for deceiving Jada and me, or should I stand by him?

Just, I I don’t want to believe that he meant to hurt either of us.

Still married. Okay. Since I don’t remember being married in the first place. What you do or don’t remember is irrelevant at this point. Sloane, would you please just show him the papers? Here you go. You can just sign right here.

That’s it. I guess I will see you around. Uh, wait a minute! What? What the hell is this?

Damn, boy.

Dear Miss Peterson, it’s the month and you still haven’t paid rent.

Damn it, Tate, we are leaving right now. I told you, you were not allowed to see her. I want to see him, too. I don’t care. I don’t want my son to be around you, Holly, okay? You let him take the fall for your drug overdose and almost jeopardized his future. You Surprises me that he wants to be around you. Dad, I forgive her.

Well, you shouldn’t. Okay, um, I, I, I agree with Brady. You know, I think maybe you two shouldn’t hang out together. At least for the time being. No, no, you can’t do this to us. Dad, please. We’re not angry with each other. It’s only you guys who are angry. I’m sorry, I’m sorry. The adults agree on this. It’s for the best.

You two are not to see each other anymore.

Look, first and foremost, Seth, you gotta take care of yourself. Okay? And you do that by distancing yourself from Everett. I know right now you’re confused, and you’re hurt, and rightfully so. Okay, look, you asked yourself if you should stand by him. I don’t think that’s gonna be good for you, Steph. I mean, let him lean on somebody else for a change.

Sas just did. He doesn’t have anyone. Not in Salem. I will tell you what, what if What if I do it? What if I lend him an ear whenever he needs it? That’s very kind of you, Chad. With him, I don’t, I don’t think he’s gonna want to open up to you.

Take that personally, I guess. Listen, let him branch out then. Tell him to, uh, join a softball league or, or go to church. You know? I mean, find, find some way to meet new people. I don’t, I don’t think softball or church would interest him. Well, there’s plenty of other ways to meet people. Look, I This advice, I, you know, I don’t I don’t want it to come across as me sounding jealous, cause You know, that’s not it.

I just Look, you’re my friend. And I care about you a lot. And, and I just don’t want to see you get hurt any more than you already have. You

signed Everett Lynch. That’s who I am. Okay. Now I need you to sign Bobby Stein. That is who was married to Jada.

But I’m not that man.

Sorry. I can’t sign for him.

That’d be forgery. I’m, I’m so sorry, Detective Hunter. You’re, you’re gonna have to find another way to, to get your divorce. I’m sorry.

Steffy: So, this monster puts a bullet in hope’s mom, in me, in my mother, my grandfather, I mean, half of L.A, and yet, hope is going to sheila’s memorial. What?

Liam: Look, you don’t get it and I don’t get it, but for hope, this is just about supporting her father. Listen, I don’t have a ton of sympathy for deacon either, getting all, you know, involved with sheila. But what hope says is that he’s, uh… like actually grieving.

Hope: Did you, uh, want to go with my dad?

Finn: Oh, what? To the crematorium? No, I think that’s a little much. Besides, I think it’ll be good for deacon to have some time with her.

Hope: You really doing okay?

Finn: Yeah. Yeah, no, it felt good to you know, say goodbye and get some closure.

Hope: Yeah. I’m sure it’s still difficult.

Finn: Yeah. Yeah. That’s probably why I’m so mixed up inside. I don’t know. I can’t help it, hope. I mean, I know the world hates her, but part of me is sad about the death of my birth mother.

Lauren: Sheila carter.

Eric: No longer a threat.

Lauren: Finally. Hallelujah.

Eric: Yeah.

Eric: I have to say, it’s a little odd, you know, celebrating the demise of someone. An ex at that. You know, I’m not saying she’s worth mourning. I’m not. It’s just that… my feelings are a little complex. I mean, having been married to her and–

Lauren: Well, having almost been killed by her, my feelings aren’t complex at all. It’s utter relief. Pure bliss.

Carl: Mr. Sharpe, how was the ceremony?

Deacon: It was beautiful.

Carl: Glad to hear it. As a formality, can you confirm the name of the deceased?

Deacon: Sheila carter.

Carl: Thank you. And uh, just sign here, please. I’m really sorry for your loss, mr. Sharpe. With the freestyle libre 3 system…

Carl: Looks like we’re all set here, unless you have any questions.

Deacon: Um, actually, just one.

Carl: Okay.

Deacon: Can I, uh– could I… could I stay? I– I just– I don’t– I don’t want her to be alone. Can I… witness the cremation?

Steffy: As difficult as this was for thomas, realizing that he doesn’t have a future with hope, it’s better that it happened now so he didn’t get too sucked in.

Liam: You mean, so he didn’t start obsessing over her yet.

Steffy: Okay, let’s just say it’s good that thomas is in paris. He can move on with his life.

Liam: Yeah. Amen, sister. Hope, too.

Steffy: And this time, with someone who she’ll really commit herself to.

Finn: Thank you, by the way. I appreciate you listening and being so sensitive and caring about all this.

Hope: Well, I am happy to lend an ear anytime. I’m sure this isn’t the easiest subject to discuss with steffy. I mean, grieving sheila.

Finn: I mean, anything sheila, really. But I don’t blame steffy if she can’t be as understanding. Not after everything that sheila put us through.

Hope: Yeah.

Finn: But hey, enough about me. How are you doing?

Hope: Oh, okay. You mean now that thomas and douglas have left?

Finn: Yeah.

Hope: Oh.

Finn: I mean, I’m not the only one grieving right now, right?

Hope: I, uh… not going to lie and say that it’s been easy, because it has not been. It’s been extremely difficult. I miss them both a lot. So I’ve just been trying to keep myself busy with work. Overanalyzing as well, and also just coming to terms with the fact that I… I broke thomas’s heart. And that’s why he left, because I couldn’t accept his proposal.

Finn: Look, it may not seem like it now, but I think that you are going to look back at this time and be thankful it worked out this way.

Hope: All right, well, i guess I owe you a thank you now. Thank you for just being a support.

Finn: You’re welcome. Hey, look, the listening thing, it can go both ways, right? So, if you ever feel like you need to talk or cry, scream, whatever.

Hope: All of the above.

Finn: Yeah.

Hope: We can stick to talking.

Finn: Okay, good. So, what is on your mind?

Hope: I guess where do I go from here? So, any ideas? Do you have any thoughts on the matter, finn? I know what it’s like

Hope: All right, finn, you’re on the spot. Let’s hear the super strong opinions about what I should be doing with my life.

Finn: Well, you know me. I’m mr. Opinionated. And look, I don’t feel like I’m on the spot, but do you really want to know what I think?

Hope: Please. The floor is yours.

Finn: Okay. I think that before you decide on what happens next, you should probably reflect on what happened before. And why.

Hope: So, you mean with thomas? You think there’s a why?

Finn: I think a lot of what you did with thomas was just a reaction to liam and his feelings for steffy. And consciously or not, it was just a way to lash out.

Hope: I suppose there could be a grain of truth to that, but a very, very small grain.

Finn: Look, and I– I understand. Like, it’s– it’s complicated, right? I get it. You did have genuine feelings for the guy. He was someone who gave you commitment, and that is something that you and everyone absolutely deserves.

Hope: Just not with thomas.

Finn: Hope, given your history, I doubt that there could have ever been any real trust between you two. True commitment. I mean, not on your part, at least. Not after what happened with beth. And, look, maybe… maybe I shouldn’t say it, but–

Hope: Say what?

Finn: I think you should try and smooth things over with liam.

Liam: Well, I should probably head out. I’ve been avoiding work long enough.

Steffy: And distracting me from mine.

Liam: Hey, hey. You were going on and on about hope and thomas. I was trying to sneak out ages ago.

Steffy: Sure, sure.

Liam: See ya.

Steffy: Bye.

Lauren: Oh, I was just going to knock. I’m so sorry. I can come back.

Steffy: No, it’s fine. Do you know liam spencer?

Lauren: Yes, absolutely.

Liam: Always good to see you.

Lauren: Yeah, you too. Hi, sweetie.

Steffy: Hi. Oh, my goodness. So good to see you.

Lauren: So good to see you too.

Steffy: My grandfather’s not here. He’s out.

Lauren: Oh, no, I just came from the house. It’s so good to see him looking so well.

Steffy: We’re all so relieved.

Lauren: Well, I’m relieved about something else and that’s the reason I’m here. I came to check on you after everything that you went through with sheila.

Carl: You want to be a witness?

Deacon: Would that be okay? What about these flowers? I thought I’d–

Carl: Put them in with her? Yeah, we get that request a lot, actually. It can be healing.

Deacon: One step closer to healing, right.

Carl: I can see you love sheila very much.

Deacon: She loved me, too. Fiercely. In a way nobody ever– I just thought we’d have more time together. Should’ve had more time. Because sheila, I do love you. Say yes. Say you’ll be my wife.

Sheila: Yes, I will marry you, and I will be your wife because I love you.

Deacon: I’m never gonna forget you. What you gave me. What we shared together. Everybody wants super straight,

Hope: You think I should go back to liam?

Finn: All right, I’m sorry. I overstepped.

Hope: No, it’s fine. I, uh, I’m giving you a hard time. I asked for your opinion and you gave it.

Finn: Here’s the thing. Only you know what is in your heart, what you want, who you want.

Hope: Well, whatever the future holds, I know that I will be able to handle it. And one thing is for certain, I am going to concentrate on my career, my children. And if I need to take a little more time to figure out myself before I can be with someone else, then so be it. So, thank you.

Finn: For what?

Hope: Being a friend.

Lauren: If you ever need anyone to talk to who truly understands what you went through, call me. Must have just been so horrible having her break into your house and attack you and having to defend yourself.

Steffy: God, yeah. Yeah, yeah. I was so scared. I mean, the way she broke in, it was either her or me that night, and she was there to kill me.

Lauren: Don’t you dare feel an ounce of guilt or anxiety by what you did. You did us all a great favor by finally eliminating sheila carter. And I hope she burns in hell.

Carl: If you have any final words…

Deacon: I keep waiting for you to wake up. You know, just tear the sheet off. Tell me this is all some joke. Come on, sheila. Come on. Sit up. Just… show me that beautiful smile. Call me daddy. Sheila, please. I’ve been missing you so much. It’s gonna be okay. You’re gonna be okay because I’m here. I’m here to help you go. I just didn’t want you to go by yourself, so I had to be here to say goodbye. All you’ve ever wanted was to be loved. All these years, that’s what you were seeking. So much went wrong. So much could have been different if I had just come into your life sooner. I hope you felt it. I need to see her.

Carl: Of course.

Deacon. You… are… loved. You are.

Carl: Would you like to start the process?

Deacon: Yes.

[ Mechanical whirring ]

[ Fire roaring ]

Deacon: Ten toes. Stop it. Stop it! Ten toes. Ten toes! Do something!

Carl: Get your hand–

Deacon: Ten toes!

Carl: Please. That’s very hot.

Deacon: I swear, I saw ten toes in there!

Announcer: Here’s a look ahead.

Deacon: Finn, they had ten toes. What if she’s alive?

Hope: So, luna, I would really love it if you could work closely with zende. I’m sure he has plenty of secrets to share.

Rj: Luna, did something happen after the party?

Days of Our Lives Update

Days of Our Lives logo

Update written by Joseph

Kate brings Lucas snacks and books at the monastery that he’s staying at. Lucas complains about having no internet but admits that it’s better than prison. Lucas tells Kate that he’s praying a lot to get out, see his family, and get his life back.

Marlena finds Alex at Small Bar and notes that she hasn’t seen him for awhile. Alex invites her to sit and assumes that Brady updated her on the latest. Marlena confirms that Brady told her that Alex has moved on with Kristen which made her wonder why she would get involved with somebody who is so difficult, but she thought maybe he had some ulterior motive.

Brady and Theresa bring Tate home. Tate says it feels amazing especially after having his ankle monitor removed. Theresa says they are just so glad he’s there. Brady asks if Tate wants to take a nap but Tate says he’s too wired and hungry. Theresa says Brady will go get him whatever he wants but Tate says he’d like to go out as he would really like to be around people since he hasn’t seen his friends in awhile. Tate mentions texting his friends about hanging out. Theresa tells him that if Holly is one of those friends, he can forget it and stay home.

Holly goes to the living room of the DiMera Mansion where Nicole tells her that she’s going to talk and Holly’s going to listen.

Alex questions Marlena’s insinuations. Paulina arrives and says she hopes she’s not late. Marlena says not at all and informs Alex that she and Paulina are having kind of a girls night out. Alex tells Paulina that it’s good to see her and he’s very happy to hear about her recovery. Paulina asks if there’s a reason he’s buttering her up. Alex responds that he just appreciates strong, beautiful women. Paulina feels he appreciates a whole lot of women. Alex says it was good to see them and exits. Paulina hopes Alex is a patient of Marlena’s because she guesses he needs some help. Marlena asks how Paulina is. Paulina says she’s glad that she asked her to come out since it’s been too long. Marlena mentions she was going to decide on the Bistro but it hasn’t reopened yet which Paulina decides is probably for the best. Paulina talks about sticking to her diet before the rest of her treatment. Paulina tells Marlena that she will be ordering a vodka.

Kate tells Lucas that she’s praying too. Lucas hoped she could do a little more than that. Kate reminds him that the deal to shorten his sentence was never finalized. Lucas complains that it’s not his fault that he got attacked before he could finish his plan to out Clyde. Kate points out that now that Clyde has escaped, she’s not sure what they could do to persuade them to let Lucas out of prison early. Lucas asks if Kate’s saying he’s stuck here and has to do his time.

Tate tells Theresa that he didn’t mention Holly’s name and questions if they are going to continue to treat him like a prisoner. Tate complains that he’s been stuck in prison and then a halfway house for months. Theresa argues that they just don’t want Tate to be around Holly for obvious reasons. Brady understands Tate wants to see his friends but thinks Theresa was hoping he’d stay home tonight because they missed him. Tate says he missed them too but he saw them when they visited and he hasn’t seen his friends in forever, so he asks if he can go out just for tonight. Brady asks Tate to be sure he’s not going to see Holly which he confirms, so Brady tells Tate to have fun then. Tate promises he won’t be out late as he then goes to get ready.

Nicole asks Holly what she thinks her consequences should be for what she did. Holly admits she thought she would be grounded by now. Nicole wanted to make sure she thought things through and that she wasn’t coming from a place of anger and hurt. Nicole knows the purpose of consequences is to stop the behavior from happening in the future. Holly asks if she talks about that in therapy with Marlena, guessing it’s mostly about her. Nicole tells her that’s none of her business but she wanted to make sure the punishment fit the crime. Nicole points out that Holly lied to the police and let EJ prosecute an innocent bystander who was her friend. Nicole adds that even if Holly was trying to protect her, she thinks part of her was trying to protect herself. Nicole argues that she is supposed to protect Holly and if she was just honest from the beginning, none of this would’ve happened. Holly agrees and decides whatever punishment she has, she knows she deserves it.

Kate tells Lucas that she’s not giving up on getting him out. Kate brings up that Harris recovered and is out of the hospital. Lucas argues that Harris needs to step up since he got him in to this mess and keeps making promises he can’t keep. Kate declares that if Harris doesn’t come through, she’s going straight to the Governor because one way or another, Lucas is getting his freedom back.

Paulina says she’s not supposed to have more than one alcoholic drink a day on her diet and she’s indulging tonight on her girls night out with Marlena. Marlena is glad they could make it happen. Paulina complains about her treatment but says she’s grateful to be alive to go through it. Marlena knows it might be difficult for her to be in isolation since she’s usually so active but encourages that maybe she can relish the quiet. Paulina says she had weeks of that in the hospital, so she’s over that. Paulina declares that she won’t relish anything about sitting in isolation, especially being separated from her husband.

Nicole tells Holly that the first thing she’s going to do is make amends with Tate. Holly argues that’s kind of hard to do when his parents don’t want her seeing him. Nicole says that Holly will respect those wishes and instructs her to write letters to Tate and his parents. Holly states that Tate knows how sorry she is. Nicole says then she’s going to remind him, very sincerely and empathetically. Nicole points out that Holly took months off of Tate’s life that he can never get back and she’s surprised Tate found it in his heart to forgive her. Holly asks if Nicole will ever forgive her.

Tate runs in to Alex in the park. Alex is surprised to see him and notices he’s not wearing his ankle monitor, so he questions if he’s supposed to be out. Tate confirms that he can be where ever he wants as he informs Alex that he got released today. Alex calls that great news and says he’s happy for him. Tate tells Alex that he doesn’t have to pretend to care as he knows that he broke up with Theresa and that he was two seconds away from calling the cops on him just now.

Brady tells Theresa that he’s sorry Tate flew out so fast. Theresa admits she can’t blame him for not wanting to stay home with his parents. Theresa can’t believe Tate is finally home as she thought the day would never come. Brady feels like the nightmare is finally over. Theresa doesn’t think Tate will be too happy though when he sees that her stuff has taken over his room, so she will need to clear out of there. Brady argues that Tate can just stay on the couch but Theresa refuses to do that to him. Brady asks Theresa why she doesn’t just sleep in his bed then.

Paulina tells Marlena that there is something she wants to ask her about her near-death experience. Paulina talks about hearing what happens when you’re braindead and how it makes you see things that aren’t there. Marlena asks if she saw things that weren’t there. Paulina confirms that she thinks she did and maybe she was just dreaming, but it all felt so real. Paulina tells Marlena about first seeing a very bright light and then asks if Marlena believes in ghosts.

Alex tells Tate that Theresa was the one who broke up with him which surprises Tate. Alex assures that he is happy for Tate, reminding him that he was the one who hired Tate’s first lawyer. Alex remarks that maybe if Theresa hadn’t fired him, Tate would’ve been out a lot sooner but clarifies that he’s not blaming her. Alex states that he’s just really happy that it all worked out in the end. Alex brings up Theresa crashing in Tate’s old room and asks where she’s going to go now that he’s home. Tate doesn’t know as he hadn’t really thought about it.

Theresa questions Brady offering his bed. Brady clarifies that he’ll sleep on the couch. Theresa says it wouldn’t be right. Brady says he’d be totally fine with it but Theresa insists she wouldn’t do that. Theresa declares that it’s time for her to move out and rent a room at the Salem Inn. Brady says she doesn’t have to do that but Theresa thinks it’s best for everybody.

Nicole tells Holly that she forgives her. Nicole says she’s angry, sad, and scared. Holly insists that she’s fine. Nicole questions how long Holly was using drugs before what happened on New Year’s. Holly swears it was only a few weeks. Nicole asks where she got the drugs. Holly says it was at school and they are kind of everywhere. Holly vows that after what happened, she will never use again. Nicole hopes there are fewer drugs on the streets of Salem now that Clyde Weston’s drug ring has been busted. Holly explains that she never thought something like this could happen as so many kids have prescriptions for these pills. Holly insists that she’s learned her lesson but Nicole questions if she has. Holly admits that she has had a drink since New Year’s. Nicole calls alcohol a drug too and says they shouldn’t have to remind her that she is underage. Holly explains that after the Christening, she was really nervous and scared about telling the truth so she had some champagne. Holly promises it was only two glasses and that nobody could tell. Nicole thanks her for being honest, but says she needs to be honest too. Nicole wants to trust Holly but feels now she’s just shown her that she can’t.

Lucas complains about his fate lying in the hands of Harris Michaels. Kate points out that Harris saved her life while Lucas argues that he almost got her killed. Kate encourages Lucas to have faith and to promise he won’t leave no matter what. Kate warns that Clyde has eyes and ears everywhere including the police department. Lucas questions what Clyde wants from him since he can’t bring him down. Kate feels she knows Clyde better than anyone and that he’s all about revenge. Lucas asks what’s going to happen when he gets out of prison then and if he’s not going to be safe until Clyde is dead.

Marlena asks Paulina to tell her about her near-death experience at the hospital. Paulina tells her to buckle up because she’s going to think she’s crazy or clinically insane. Marlena says whatever happened brought her back to them and they will always be grateful for that. Paulina then reveals that after she saw the light, Abe’s late wife Lexie appeared. Paulina explains that first she thought Lexie was going to take her to the other side but she told her that she wanted her to stay with Abe and then she was suddenly healed while Abe got his memory back like a double miracle. Paulina knows she had a lot of medication in her but points out that Abe saw the same thing. Paulina asks if Marlena thinks that really could’ve happened. Marlena asks if Paulina thinks so. Paulina says she’s just starting to wonder and brings up hearing Kate’s voice in the urn when she was supposedly dead, so maybe she has an extra sensory perception. Marlena says there are so many things in the world that they don’t understand, so nothing would surprise her anymore.

Tate tells Alex that he’s not sure where Theresa is going to live but he’s sure she’ll figure it out. Alex says she always does and asks Tate to tell Theresa how happy he is for him. Tate asks why Alex just doesn’t tell her himself since they worked together. Alex notes that Theresa has kind of been avoiding him. Tate thinks there’s a simple solution that doesn’t involve him. Alex calls him very mature. Alex asks Tate what happened and how he got released. Tate informs him that Holly finally remembered that it was her drugs. Alex questions her not knowing that the whole time and guesses that Tate just doesn’t want to admit he’s covering for her. Tate calls it complicated while Alex says Tate’s a better man than him as he doesn’t think he’d ever be able to forgive someone who screwed him over like that…

Brady asks Theresa if she’s sure he can’t talk her in to staying. Theresa thinks it’s best to leave on a high note and points out that instead of them fighting, they fought together for Tate and they won. Brady says they’ve come a long way which Theresa agrees with. Brady says he’ll see her at the office but Theresa says she’s been working remotely since breaking up with Alex. Brady offers to help smooth things over but Theresa says she’s a big girl and can handle it. Brady says he’ll see her sometime somewhere else then. Brady offers to help her with her bags but Theresa says she’s good and she will write a thank you letter to John and Marlena for letting her stay. Theresa tells Brady to take care as they hug and she then exits.

Holly doesn’t get it since she just told Nicole the truth and now she suddenly doesn’t trust her. Nicole argues that Holly almost died and clearly hasn’t learned her lesson. Nicole says that she can only earn her trust through time and hard work. Nicole wants Holly to start by going to therapy, not as a punishment but just because she needs it after all the trauma she’s been through and calls it non-negotiable. Nicole adds that if the therapist thinks she needs further treatment. Holly says no to rehab but Nicole argues that she just admitted to drinking right after coming out of a coma from a drug overdose. Holly argues that she had been out of the coma and remarks that it’s not like Nicole didn’t have a few drinks at her age. Nicole warns her not to throw her past in her face and calls that different. Holly shouts that she’s really sorry. Nicole asks if Holly can even grasp what she put Tate and his family through as he was beaten up in jail. Holly argues that she was in a coma so it’s not her fault that EJ went ballistic on him. Nicole argues that Tate was trying to protect her and was only made out to be a villain because EJ believed her when she said Holly would never take drugs. Nicole decides she will only feel better if she makes sure that Holly is no longer in danger of relapsing, so she is grounded indefinitely. Holly argues that she can’t do that as she has to see her friends. Nicole says she can see her friends here and demands that she hand over her cell phone and car keys.

Marlena tells Paulina that she could pass by the no visitor rule since she works at the hospital. Paulina doesn’t want her exposing herself to radiation. Marlena insists that she can wear the suit and keep her visits brief. Paulina calls her a great friend but feels she’s been a horrible friend since they’ve spent the whole time talking about her and she hasn’t asked about Marlena. Marlena responds that Paulina’s life has been a lot more exciting than her life the past few weeks. Paulina finds that hard to believe but says Marlena doesn’t seem like herself, so she asks if everything is alright. Marlena guesses she isn’t covering very well. Paulina confirms that she can see the worry in her face. Marlena tells her that John has been going through a lot of revelations about his past lately. Paulina is sorry to hear that and knows it can be difficult to exorcise those demons to move on. Marlena encourages that John will get through it fine and she’ll be there to help him. Paulina guesses this is not their first time. Marlena confirms that John has been going through this for a very long time. Paulina says they are lucky to have Marlena as they toast their drinks.

Alex sees Theresa going through the town square with her bags and offers to help. Theresa starts to decline but then accepts his help. Alex mentions running in to Tate and tells Theresa how happy he is that Tate is out of the halfway house. Theresa thanks Alex for what he did to support Tate. Theresa mentions getting a room at the Salem Inn until she figures out a more permanent solution. Alex questions why when half of her belongings are still at his place. Alex asks why she would spend a money on a hotel when they started off a as a platonic living arrangement and there’s no reason they can’t go back to that. Theresa says she can think of a few reasons.

Holly questions Nicole wanting her to hand over her phone and her freedom. Nicole says those are the terms. Holly tells her no. Nicole gets upset and reminds her who is in charge. Holly argues that she’s been in a coma for months and hasn’t seen in her friends. Holly questions Nicole being so happy that she’s still alive but trying to take her phone which she says her whole life is on. Nicole calls that a problem. Holly complains that Nicole didn’t think so when she got her first phone for her when she was 10 so she could be self sufficient when Nicole wasn’t around and wouldn’t have to think about her. Nicole calls that untrue. Holly argues that she’s punishing her for lying when she only lied so that Nicole wouldn’t think she was a bad mom. Holly then declares that she started taking drugs because Nicole was completely checked out. Holly rants about her dad dying when she was born and then there being Eric until Nicole screwed that up and made him walk out on them while now there is EJ who doesn’t give a damn about her. Holly adds God knows who will be next year. Nicole raises her hand to slap her but stops herself. Nicole then demands that Holly give her the phone now. Holly hands over her phone but says she’s not giving her the password. Nicole says she’s not going through her phone and just doesn’t want her to call any drug dealers. Holly asks why she always has to go to such extremes. Nicole brings up Holly plotting to break up Johnny and Chanel while now being all up in it with Tate. Nicole remarks that it seems like Holly always wants what she can’t have, just like her. Nicole tells Holly that she loves her with all her heart and will do anything to protect her, even if she hates her for it. Nicole decides she’s going to bed and Holly should too. Nicole says goodnight and then heads upstairs.

Paulina compliments her drink and the company. Marlena agrees that they should do this again soon. Marlena encourages that Paulina will come through her radiation with flying colors. Paulina jokes that they are some tough broads and toasts again to them.

Lucas thanks Kate for bringing him books and talks about never being this lonely in his life. Kate encourages him to hang in there as it’s not going to be forever. Kate hugs him as Lucas says he hopes she’s right.

Brady looks at a photo of himself, Tate, and Theresa but tells himself not to go there.

Alex argues that the Salem Inn is expensive when Theresa could just stay with him. Theresa argues that he’s dating Kristen and she might put a hit on her if she moves back in. Alex says they’ve been on like two dates. Alex says he’s just trying to lend a helping hand to a friend in need. Theresa says she just doesn’t want things to blow up again. Alex promises to be a perfect gentleman. Theresa then accepts his offer, so Alex takes her bags and they walk off together.

Tate sneaks in to the DiMera Mansion to see Holly and they kiss. Holly says he shouldn’t be there but Tate says it’s okay and questions her not answering his texts. Holly informs him that Nicole confiscated her phone. Nicole calls out for Holly so Tate says he’ll see her soon and rushes back out. Nicole comes back to the room and tells Holly that she doesn’t want to go to bed angry. Nicole talks about it being them against the world when she was a baby. Nicole says this brought her back to the time in their lives when she fought to be her mother. Nicole cries that she’ll always fight for her, she loves her, and couldn’t bear to lose her. Nicole says she just wanted her to know and says goodnight as she then heads back upstairs.

Chance: Hey. You got a second?

Billy: Yeah, let me just finish this up. Okay, good to go. Um, what’s going on?

Chance: Is it true, what I just heard? Daniel romalotti was let go?

Billy: Yeah, I’m afraid that is true. And heather stevens was let go as well.

Chance: What’s up with that? I never heard any issues about heather’s work, and omega sphere has really taken off.

Billy: Yeah.

Chance: And daniel almost single-handedly created our entire gaming division. Help me understand why this would happen.

Billy: Oh, it wasn’t me, chance, believe me. And I got no doubt in my mind it’s not gonna end well.

Devon: So you think there’s still a place for billy at chancellor-winters. Even though you’re back home and there’s no real reason for him to be at the company

Lily: I think there is a side to this that you refuse to see.

Devon: I’m not refusing to see anything. I’m just curious, ’cause you said yourself that you can see the tension that billy causes between us. And just the other day, you were ready to show him the door. So I’m wondering what’s changed and why you’re taking his side?

[ Traci sighs ]

Traci: Ashley, it’s me. Listen, you went upstairs to take a bath, and the next thing I find out, you’ve gone. I promise that I– I will not tell anybody about your memory lapses. But we haven’t gotten to the bottom of what’s causing them. Please, you need to come home so that we can figure that out, okay? Please, ashley.

[ Traci gasps ]

Jack: Hi.

Traci: Hey, jack, it’s you. And nikki, hello.

Nikki: Hi, traci.

Traci: Is everything all right?

Jack: It will be. Uh, how about you? How are things here?

Tucker: I don’t wanna waste any more time, audra. Life’s too precious. And you are–

Audra: I– I don’t know what to say.

Tucker: Say yes.

Audra: But…

Tucker: Wait, hold on. Give me your hand.

Audra: But, tucker, wait. I haven’t said yes. For people who feel limited

Announcer: Additional sponsorship provided by…

Tucker: Right. You haven’t said yes because I– I missed an obvious step.

[ Chuckles ] Right? Gotta do it right.

Audra: Tucker, stop. Um… I don’t have an answer for you yet… but I do have questions. Why now? Why this?

Tucker: Because this is– this is what you do when– when you realize your life will only be complete with that– that certain person. And… it’s part certainty, you know, the meant-to-be feeling. Uh, part fear that your life won’t be quite right without that person.

Audra: And now you think that person is me.

Tucker: Yeah, I think I’ve known for a while. Just– you know me, I’m– I’m the master of getting in my own way. I mean, you are, audra… the sun, you know? You’re the… [ Laughs ] …The moon, the stars.

Audra: Yeah, um, I don’t need some poetic aria about our magical connection. What I need to know is, what’s the catch?

Nikki: I can leave if you and traci need to speak privately.

Jack: No, no, no. You shouldn’t go anywhere right now. I assume, traci, this about what we discussed? Any changes?

Traci: Yes. Ashley came home after you left.

Jack: Well, that’s great. There you are. She’s fine. No reason to worry.

[ Traci sighs ]

Traci: Well, that’s not entirely true. I would’ve reacted the same way if it was you that was out all night.

Jack: Point taken, but all is well now? Is there something else that’s bothering you?

Traci: Uh, we’ll just talk about this later. Okay? I have some errands I have to run, so I will leave you to it. Nikki, it’s good to see you.

Nikki: Good to see you.

Traci: Please take care.

Nikki: Thank you. Traci is keeping something to herself, and I’m afraid my being here kept her from telling you what it is.

Chance: But why would we suddenly fire both of them, as far as I can tell, without cause?

Billy: Like I said, it wasn’t me. This was devon and lily. It was their decision.

Chance: So what’s gonna happen to the gaming platform without daniel?

Billy: To omega sphere? I have no idea.

Chance: Okay. So, two key people were fired and you were not in the loop. Yeah. I take it lily’s return has not eased the tension between you and devon.

Billy: No, not at all. And she’s united with devon, and I’m sure nate’s gonna follow suit. Mamie, she’s got her own agenda. But I’m here, and I’m in for the long haul, and I’ll do everything I can to mitigate. But the truth is, I’m committed to making sure that jill’s vision is taken care of here.

Chance: So, lily’s back, you’re locked in, and what? Things are getting worse? There’s more conflict, there’s more disagreement on major issues?

Billy: Look, chance, I get it, you think that all this in-fighting, it’s– it’s petty. I understand that. But the truth is, it’s not.

Chance: Really? How do you figure that?

Billy: Because there’s a lot going on right now, okay? And if we don’t find a replacement for daniel, there’s some tough decisions that are gonna have to be made.

Chance: How tough we talking?

Billy: Like downsizing the entire gaming division.

Chance: Yeah.

Billy: Firing a bunch of really good people that don’t deserve it that we hired to execute daniel’s vision. That’s a lot of pink slips right there.

[ Phone buzzes ]

Chance: Mm-hmm. More trouble?

Lily: I am not taking billy’s side. I’m being logical. That is all.

Devon: If that were the case, then you would see that it’s counterproductive to have billy back at chancellor-winters in the first place. Okay? He was brought in to replace you, or to fill in while you were gone, and you’re back. So it’s time for him to move on.

Lily: Billy wasn’t brought in just to replace me. I mean, jill was feeling like she was being pushed out once mamie came into the picture.

Devon: Okay, so what? Then we’re stuck with billy just ’cause jill wants someone around with her last name?

Lily: Look, I don’t like what chancellor-winters has become, okay? It’s become this war zone where I feel like two sides are vying for power.

Devon: I don’t think it’s all that. That’s an exaggeration.

Lily: I don’t think it is. I mean, jill was feeling threatened, right, thinking that you and nate and I were gonna go and side with mamie. So she brings in billy and chance to level the playing field.

Devon: Yeah, but keeping billy there, it doesn’t level anything, really.

Lily: If we get rid of billy, it is gonna prove to jill that she had a right to worry, and I think that’s the wrong move. It is one I am not willing to make.

(“Holiday road”)

Devon: Listen, I completely get that you feel a sense of loyalty to jill. I do.

Lily: Yeah, of course I do. I mean, she’s the one who trusted me to run her company. I’ll never forget that.

Devon: Right, and I’m not asking you to forget that at all. I’m asking you to look at this whole situation objectively, ’cause jill is overreacting. All right? Regardless of how mamie feels, no one is trying to strip her of her power. So all the drama that’s being created around this, it’s coming from jill. She is literally fueling this war that you see of us versus them.

Lily: But if we fire billy, that’s gonna exacerbate the situation.

Devon: But do you not agree that jill’s being paranoid? ‘Cause mamie only owns a minority stake in the company. Nothing can happen to jill unless we let it happen, and jill doesn’t seem to understand that.

Lily: Yeah, but devon, we don’t wanna add fuel to the fire.

Devon: I disagree. And this is also why mamie’s suggestion of splitting up the companies behind the scenes makes sense sometimes.

Lily: Oh, is she still talking about that?

Devon: Yeah.

Lily: Like, this is what I’m talking about, okay? Her presence in the company, it worries me. Like, her power plays are not the vision that I have for chancellor-winters. I don’t want things to be this way.

Devon: I don’t want things to be this way either. But I do think that we should try and come up with another solution instead of just throwing out the idea altogether the way jill did.

Lily: Oh, something other than splitting the company in two?

Devon: Yes, out of just respect. We don’t punish our colleagues just ’cause we have a problem with ’em.

Lily: Are you serious right now? Did you really just say that to me?

Billy: Just let me respond to chelsea real quick. Give me a second.

Chance: Yeah.

Billy: Okay. Thanks.

Chance: Hey, I remember you saying that chelsea and adam took connor out of town and there were some issues. I don’t wanna pry, but… you need to talk, I’m happy to listen.

Billy: Yeah, thank you for that. Truth is, I can’t say much. All I will say is that I feel for all three of them. Adam included, believe it or not.

Chance: Must be serious, then.

Billy: Connor’s such a good kid, but what he’s going through, it’s– it’s tough, you know? He went to the specialized school ’cause he needed a certain amount of attention, and now he’s going somewhere else. It’s a lot to take on. But he has one thing going for him, that’s for sure.

Chance: Yeah, what’s that?

Billy: Chelsea. She’s so loving. So caring, attentive. Connor’s lucky to have her. And she’s doing everything she can to get him through this.

Chance: I bet she is. And you know what? Having to take care of her son and deal with adam at the same time, I’m sure that’s more than a handful.

Nikki: If you all are going through some kind of family issue–

Jack: I can’t remember when there wasn’t some kind of issue in the abbott manse.

Nikki: You’re shutting me down.

Jack: Because we have to talk about your issue. Please. Let’s talk about society and that stranger who sent you a vodka.

Nikki: Yeah. Who was that? And why would he do something like that?

Jack: Because he disappeared, we will never know if his intentions were benign or not.

Nikki: Well, I am sure that jordan was behind it. Having me followed, tempting me with alcohol. And we have no idea where she is!

Jack: And that’s why I took you out of there and brought you here, to slow things down. If victor saw you right now and heard about this man, he would go ballistic.

Nikki: Yes, he would. But we have no idea if she has other partners in crime all over town, watching, waiting for just the right moment to push me over the edge.

Tucker: What makes you think there’s a catch?

Audra: How could I think anything else? Look, we’ve barely been together as a couple, and already you’re– you’re proposing marriage. Who does that?

Tucker: Someone who wants to spend the rest of his life with you. We’ve been together so many years already. Maybe not, uh, officially, romantically, as a couple, but… we’ve shared virtually everything else.

Audra: Yeah, but that’s not the same, and you know it.

Tucker: So is this… just about the timing? Or about me?

Audra: Of course not. I– I do love you. But this… I– I’m sorry, but something about all of this just doesn’t ring true to me. It all feels like it’s a reaction to… something. Or someone. Has something happened with ashley?

[ Tucker groans ] Is this a reaction?

Tucker: No!

Audra: Well, it feels like you’re trying to prove a point.

Tucker: I’m not trying to prove a point. This has nothing to do with ashley. Why does everything have to do with ashley? It has to do with you and me. That’s it. I love you. That’S…

[ Laughs ] I mean, I want us to be together forever. (Tony hawk) skating for over 45 years has taken a toll on my body.

Lily: Are you accusing me of punishing daniel and heather because I have a problem with them?

Devon: No, I’m talking about jill dismissing the idea of splitting the companies because she doesn’t like that the idea came from mamie. And I think that it would be smart of us to try and come up with some kind of solution instead of just throwing it out the window.

Lily: Okay, well, you also wanna cut billy loose because you have a personal problem with him.

Devon: You’re 100% right. Yes, I do. And I also have a lot of professional reasons, too.

Lily: Like what?

Devon: Oh, his track record, for one. You and I both know how many times that guy has bounced from company to company. He never stays anywhere for a long time. He was just getting settled at jabot, and then his mom snapped her fingers, and he’s back with us acting like he owns the place.

Lily: No, I mean, that’s true. He is all over the place trying to find himself.

Devon: And how long do you think it’ll take before he feels unfulfilled again and leaves us for a second time? He can’t be trusted to maintain commitment. Not to our company, not to you, not to anybody. And given your history, I’m a little surprised that you’d even wanna work with him at all.

Billy: That’s very astute of you. And I agree. Adam is the biggest hurdle in all of this.

Chance: Hey, I get it. You know, once upon a time, we were close, so I know firsthand how he can be.

Billy: That’s what I’m concerned about. In my opinion, he’s not handling this very well. But as a father, I will say I sympathize. It’s not an easy situation. But I care about chelsea. And if he could rein it in, even just a little bit, I think it’d be more helpful for everyone.

Chance: Yeah, it doesn’t sound like something he can pull off.

Billy: Yeah. I wish I could go back east and be with chelsea, make sure that she feels she’s got the support that she needs, but the truth is, that is only gonna complicate matters worse, and, of course, defeat the purpose.

Chance: Well, man, I gotta say, I admire your logic there, and the amazing amount of restraint you’re showing.

Billy: Logic? Restraint? Those are two traits that I am not known for.

Audra: Together… forever?

Tucker: It’s okay to believe me, you know. I realize that no one else ever takes me at my word, but…

[ Sighs ] You know me better than that, right?

Audra: Who else hasn’t taken you at your word recently?

Tucker: I ran into devon earlier. Didn’t go well.

Audra: Is that what provoked this proposal? The lack of having anyone to love? Or more to the point, anyone to love you? Are you trying to prove something to your son?

Tucker: No. Audra, sometimes… when we’re in bed together and you’re asleep… I memorize that face. I try to memorize every inch. It gives me so much peace. It makes me feel like things make sense. Devon, um– devon said to me, “look at you, tucker. You’re all alone. You’ll always be alone.” And I said to myself, “he’s wrong. ‘Cause I got audra.” Right now, though… anyway, I’ve been thinking about this for a while, and, uh, actually seeing devon just reinforced the decision.

[ Exhales ] Made me realize what’s important in life. You.

Audra: I’m sorry. Um…

Tucker: No, that’s okay.

Audra: I just can’T.

Tucker: Hmm.

Audra: You know, this just comes out of nowhere. And… [ Sniffles ] …What we have is special. We have chemistry and excitement. We speak our own shorthand, and, um, we know how each other’s mind thinks, and I just… but what makes us different is that our relationship is not bound by anyone else’s rules. Marriage is so separate from who we are.

Tucker: Yeah, I– a month or so ago, I would have agreed with you, given my track record, especially my last marriage. But… something’s changed. When I think about a life with you… it’s all I want.

Audra: So suddenly, though.

Tucker: If not now, when? When is anybody ever truly ready for something like this, right? And I’m scared. I’m unsure. I don’t know if it’s gonna work out. But I’m willing to give it a shot. My head is telling me, “no, too soon,” just like yours is. But if I only ever listened to my head, I’d never take a chance on anything. It just feels right. I’m so in love with you. If not now, when? For me, it’s now.

Jack: I understand where it might be easy to assume that jordan enlisted this mystery man or an army of accomplices to sit in wait, hoping to torment you. But isn’t it also possible that a man saw a very beautiful woman in a restaurant, wanted to buy her a drink, and did not realize she was in recovery?

Nikki: Well, thanks for the flattering spin, but if that were the case… why take off? Why– why doesn’t he stick around for me to thank him. I mean, who buys a stranger a drink, and then leaves? And how did he know that vodka is my drink of choice?

Jack: I guess I just wanted to know you were beyond the torment, and if you’re not, you have to respond appropriately. I think it’s great that you have accepted victor’s offer for this trip, though. I think a couple of weeks away from genoa city would be wonderful for you. You’d be safer and– especially if jordan has found a couple of allies here in town.

Nikki: Actually, I’ve been having second thoughts about the trip.

Jack: What?

Nikki: If I let her drive me out of town, it will give her even more presumed power over me. She would love it if she thought that she had scared me. In fact, that might even be part of her plan.

Jack: Wait, to what end?

Nikki: Leaving victoria and claire vulnerable to her. And she knows that that would hurt victor and me even more deeply.

Jack: Wow, we are dealing with one very sick, twisted mind.

Nikki: And we can’t stay away forever. I mean, she’ll wait it out until we come back. And by then, she’ll probably be more emboldened. I am not going to give her the satisfaction. File 100% free with turbotax free edition.

Announcer: The young and the restless will continue.

Lily: Okay, first of all, my breakup with daniel was nothing like– thank you. My breakup with billy, okay?

Devon: I’m aware of that, but it had the same outcome, did it not?

Lily: Yeah, but billy didn’t fall into the bed of another woman and claim his undying love for her. We drifted apart, and I was the one who encouraged him to follow his heart, and leave the company. And don’t use my breakup as a reason we can’t count on him.

Devon: I’m sorry, but you are right that he is invested. He’s invested in preserving the abbott name, okay? And my whole point is, with as fast as jill brought him in, who’s to say he won’t leave just as quick?

Lily: Oh, my god. Okay, listen, we– I have to go. I have a meeting to get to. Listen, I will talk to billy, okay? I will figure out where he stands because I also want to know what kind of value he thinks he brings to the company.

Devon: Okay, well, I’m sure he’s gonna tell you what he thinks you want to hear. But I’m hoping that he’s honest with himself and tells you that he’s restless, and wants to move on, ’cause I don’t think he’s worth the trouble.

Audra: You know, you say it feels right to you. But I’m just not there.

Tucker: Fair enough.

[ Tucker laughs ] Maybe I’ll just… propose all over again tomorrow. I should have gotten one of those skywriting planes. “Marry me, audra, heart, tucker.”

Audra: That’s not necessary.

Tucker: I don’t suppose because you just suddenly changed your mind.

Audra: I just can’T. Are you sure you’re not trying to prove something to ashley or devon, or perhaps the rest of the world? Or are you maybe just out to prove something to yourself?

Jack: I completely understand you’re not wanting to give jordan a win. Believe me. I don’t want to give that monster any sense of a victory. But my main concern is you and your safety.

Nikki: Have you forgotten that I still have my bodyguard, larry? That and all of victor’s team–

Jack: Yeah, where was victor’s cracker jack team when a stranger tried to give you a drink?

Nikki: Out in the breezeway, which you already knew. They weren’t looking for a man. They were looking for a woman. Now that they know that jordan has accomplices, they will be much more vigilant.

Jack: I hope so. I’m still gonna be concerned about you.

Nikki: Thank you. I don’t know what I would do without you as a friend, but please don’t worry about me. I’ll be fine.

Jack: You better be.

Chance: Oh, hey, don’t forget we’ve got that call this afternoon about the advertising budget.

Billy: Is that this afternoon? I thought that was tomorrow morning.

Chance: Well, if you can’t make it, I’ll handle it, all right? As well as whatever you got planned next to shore up the gaming platform. Really, billy, if you gotta go take some personal time, go see chelsea, you’re covered.

Billy: Thank you for that. I appreciate it, but you know what? I’m here now, so I’ll get everything done that I can. So then when chelsea gets back into town, I’m there to support her.

Chance: All right.

Lily: Hello. Enjoying my office, I see.

Billy: Nice timing.

Devon: Why is it nice timing?

Billy: I was just informing chance of the sudden staff shake-up.

Devon: Oh, well, yeah, it was sudden, but I stand by lily’s decision to do it, ’cause it needed to happen.

Billy: Yeah, I fully disagree with that, but it’s done. So, let’s make sure there’s no blowback.

Devon: I don’t anticipate there being any, but if there is, we’ll handle it.

Billy: Really, you don’t anticipate any blowback? We fired two high-level executives for personal reasons?

Devon: Well, see, that’s you assuming that it was just for personal reasons. Have you considered the fact that you might not have all the information?

Billy: I have enough information to know that they didn’t commit any fireable offenses, okay? They were both doing a great job. Daniel alone in the gaming division was going off like a firecracker, devon.

Devon: Listen, billy–

Lily: Oh, my god. Both of you, stop. This has to end. My dry eye’s made me a burning,

Lily: Can I please talk to billy alone?

Devon: Sure.

Lily: You know, firing daniel and heather was my call. Devon had nothing to do with it.

Billy: Doesn’t make it any more palatable.

Lily: Okay, well, this is business. You’re not gonna agree with everything that we do.

Billy: Frankly, lily, it doesn’t seem like we’re going to agree on much at all going forward.

[ Lily laughs ]

Lily: You know, I– I really told devon that you have a place and a purpose here, and I really hope I don’t regret saying that.

Billy: Well, thank you. I appreciate that. But the truth is lily, I don’t need you to back me up. I’m here to do my job. I’m committed to that. And if your brother is gonna badmouth me behind my back, to the point that you need to defend me, that’s on him.

Lily: Really, billy, do you really think it’s all devon’s fault? It takes two, okay? So, take a look in the mirror.

Diane: Hello, jack. Nikki.

Jack: Hey.

Nikki: Well, diane, you almost missed me. I was just leaving.

Jack: Wait, you don’t– you don’t have to leave now. No, let me get you a cup of tea. What’s the rush?

Nikki: I have to go home and let victor know that I don’t want to take the anniversary trip now. And I have to stop him before he makes too many arrangements.

Diane: Wait a minute. You’re turning down an anniversary trip with victor? I can’t imagine how fabulous that would be with him planning it for you. How can you say no to such a romantic getaway?

Nikki: I have my reasons.

Jack: Are you sure some time away isn’t the answer?

Nikki: One day, it will be. Not right now. She is not going to beat me, jack.

Jack: Come on, I’ll walk you out.

Diane: Bye.

Nikki: Bye.

Diane: I hope nikki’s all right. She sure seems stronger and very decisive.

Jack: Well, that’s really a cover. She’s going through a particularly difficult time right now.

Diane: Oh, I’m sorry to hear that.

Jack: I won’t get into it, but the fight is not over yet.

Diane: Got it. Uh, it’s just too bad that she’s still struggling.

Jack: Hey, what is it?

Diane: What?

Jack: Well, something’s bothering you. Tell me.

Diane: No, I’m just sorry to hear about nikki, that’s all.

Jack: You can tell me anything, you know? We have an honesty pact. You’re not backing out of it now, are you?

Diane: Hm, no, I’m– I’m not.

Jack: Hey, if something is bothering you, I want to know.

Diane: Honestly, I don’t think this is something you want to hear.

Tucker: Well… c’est magnifique.

[ Laughs ] No, I’ll– I’ll consider those questions. But I– I hope that you will do some consideration of my proposal, right? You will– you will give it some serious thought?

Audra: I’ll think about it.

Tucker: No, I mean it, I mean, let it really sink in. Let it settle into your heart and– and give it some life. Will you do that for me?

Audra: I’ll try.

Tucker: That’s all I ask.

[ Audra sighs ]

Audra: You know, this really is lovely.

[ Tucker laughing ] No, I mean it. The champagne, the croissants. Topped off with, you know, a little dancing. And wherever this might lead to after.

[ Tucker sighs ] To us. The world’s most unconventional couple.

Tucker: I love you.

Audra: I love you. (Vo) welcome to lobsterfest. Is your party ready?

[ Romantic music playing ]

Tucker: There it is.

Audra: There’s what?

Tucker: Our connection. It’s special.

Audra: But what if our connection is special because we aren’t married? That we’re just at our best, just as we are?

Billy: Is there something I can say to make you feel good about defending me?

Lily: This isn’t about making me feel good. I stand by everything that I’ve said.

Billy: Okay, I guess, I’m glad that you don’t want to see me gone.

Lily: No, I mean, listen, jill clearly wanted you back and didn’t want it to be temporary. But now that I’m back, there has to be a clear chain of command.

Billy: Agreed.

Lily: And I have concerns, right? Because devon thinks that right now, you’re vying for power, but eventually, you’re gonna get bored and move on. So please, just be honest with me, okay? Cards on the table. There’s no wrong answer.

Billy: What do you want to know?

Lily: Why are you here? What do you want to accomplish? And I think, more importantly, can we count on you to put the company first?

Jack: Trust me, I can handle whatever’s weighing on you. Tell me. Don’t keep me in the dark.

Diane: All right, all right. I am having a problem with something.

Jack: So, let me help.

Diane: Well, I don’t know if you can, because it’s about nikki.

Jack: Oh.

Diane: Jack, this whole thing she’s going through is forcing you to spend a lot of time with her.

Jack: Okay, for starters, no one’s forcing me to do anything.

[ Diane scoffs ] And I thought you understood. I knew you weren’t thrilled with this, but you said you didn’t want to stand in the way of anyone’s recovery, even nikki.

Diane: And that still holds true. I don’t wish nikki any ill will, despite our ugly history. Okay, maybe I’m just being insecure, and I– I hate that I even brought it up.

Jack: No, I don’t want you to hate bringing anything up with me. No, I dropped the ball here. I need to show you how much I love you every single day.

Diane: I’m not angling for attention. That’s not what this is about. I know you love me, but–

Jack: Look, and listen to me. You have absolutely no reason to feel insecure.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

Terry: It’s your birthday. It is. A fact that you and i may be the only two people to notice. Well, happy birthday. Thank you. Any big plans? Just me and my couch and the remote. Sounds blissful, to be honest. In other good news, I’m not seeing any cause for concern in your blood work. Are you surprised? No. But you look a little pale, enough so that I wondered if anemia was at play, but your hemoglobin looks good. If I look pale, it’s because we’ve just slogged through winter. And like everybody else, I haven’t been outside much. Fair enough. And if I have any complaints at all, it’s cold hands and cold feet, but I’m assuming that that’s a measure of my age. And I have been a little lethargic lately. Is that an indication something’s going on? Am I sick? I’m not qualified to say. You’re co-chief of staff. Who’s more qualified than you? A psychiatrist.

[ Scoffs ] I can refer you to dr. Collins, if you’d like. What possible diagnosis could be going on in here? Depression.

[ Cellphone rings ] Hi, olivia. It’s sasha. Cody stepped out for a second. Should I get him? Oh, no, no, no, I just wanted to give cody the good news. Dante is being discharged. Really? That’s fantastic. Yeah, I was sure that cody would want to be filled in. Absolutely. He’ll be thrilled to know dante is coming home. You know what? Uh… while I have you on the phone, honey, are you at the house? I am at the stables. Why? Oh, well —

[ Sighs ] I was making mashed potatoes

and chicken parm for tracy’s birthday,

but now with dante and the kids coming home,

sam’s not going to be able to cook. I was thinking that, uh, you know, maybe I would bring them dinner instead and grab a cake to celebrate with tracy? Good idea. I could use your help. Okay. Well, I chopped up

the veggies, I made the potatoes,

but the chicken still hasn’t been made. You think, uh, you could get it started if I talked you through it? I can try. Your restraint. What happened to your restraint? Oh, you know, I think maybe I lost some weight after the surgery or something. I mean, my hands just slipped out. Your hands? Yep. Felicia, this is bobbie’s new manager, hunter crews. Nice to meet you. Likewise. This place is a favorite of mine, so expect to be seeing me a lot. Looking forward to it. Yes, felicia is one of our regulars. I used to work here when I was her age. We get a lot of customers come in from the hospital because it’s a very short walk and… got it. Trina: Okay, but I’m here if you need backup. I know. Thank you, baby. Slow and steady. Wins the race, every time.

[ Applause ] Choose advil liqui-gels for faster, strongerand longer-lasting relief than tylenol rapid release gels because advil targets pain at the source of inflammation. So for faster pain relief, advil the pain away. All of the things thatyou’re looking for in a pad, that is always discreet. Look at how it absorbs all the liquid. Oh my gosh! And locking it right on in. Look at that! Totally absorbed. I got to get some always discreet. How’s your brother? He’s — he’s good. Yeah. He’s, uh, actually, he gets to go home today. Oh, that’s fantastic. You must be so relieved. I am, yeah, every day he is awake and moving around, I feel a little bit better. I’ll bet. I was wondering if you might have a minute. Okay. I didn’t mean for you to find out about the whole deception /crimson thing like that. I hope you didn’t think I was keeping it from you. I didn’t really know what to think. I still don’T. Can I explain? See you soon. Cody. Hey. Comet must have spring fever. He gave us both a workout. Where’d you disappear to? I was up at the house. You left your phone on the table. I did, didn’t I? I answered a call from olivia. Oh, okay. Alright, well, what’d she say? Dante is being released from the hospital today. Woo-hoo! Yes!

[Cheers ] I am not depressed and I do not need a shrink. If you say so. I have a very full life. I’m the head of a company. Well, if I’m being honest, I am the majority shareholder in a company that I hope to give to my granddaughter someday, but it keeps me very busy. I’m sure it does. And if I — if I’m a little down or at loose ends sometimes, it’s because I lost my husband a little over two years ago, and it’s grief, and it takes as long as it takes. Absolutely. There’s no buzzer that will ring and say, that’s it, you’re done. Well, if there was, I’d ignore it. I am doing this my way and I — I don’t care what anybody else thinks. I know your family well enough to know that your husband hasn’t been your only loss. Both your parents, your brother alan, a legend here at gh. A nephew, a niece. That’s not unusual at my stage of life. That doesn’t make it easy. Look, your general health is good. All the numbers are in range. Maybe you need to get out more, be a little more active. A tennis club, a women’s golf league. Oh, no. There will be no popping of my collar, thank you very much. Then something else. Anything to keep your body moving and get you interacting with people of similar interests. I’ll keep it in mind. How’s that? I’ll take it. I need you in here, please. Is there a problem? Well, the patient’s restraints are loose, and she needs to be supervised at all times. Erin, erin, can you please come in here and tighten the patient’s restraints? Thank you. There you go. And I’m not going to say thank you, erin, though these are more comfortable than handcuffs. It is so good to see you not only out and about, but on your feet. That must be a record. He’s been working at it nonstop. It shows. Thank you so much. You know, I did not think that going out to grab a bite to eat would call for a hero’s welcome. Well, a lot of people were worried about you. We’re allowed to be happy about your recovery. Yeah, well, on the road to recovery. And in the fast lane, it looks like. Yeah, well, I will accept the applause and the encouragement. Thank you. I have to get back to the hospital. Keep up the good, and what I’m sure is very hard, work. Thank you. Felicia. See you. See you. Bye. Not exactly low-key are you? No, not about this. You didn’t just beat the odds, you defied them. I am so proud of you, dad.

Ah, sorry about the sweat. No problem. Dante is coming home, huh? That guy, I swear. I mean, we all thought he wasn’t going to make it. Now he probably set a record for getting released from the hospital the fastest. He is pretty amazing. Did olivia say anything else? She did, actually. She wanted to bring some food over to dante’s because sam won’t have time to cook, so she asked me to get her chicken parm started. But unfortunately, the chicken is spoiled. Eeh. You sure? Trust me, it won’t be much of a welcome home if dante and sam and all the kids get food poisoning. No. But I’m going to go back to the house and look in the fridge. I’m sure I can figure something out. You’re a good friend. It’s the least I could do after dante, you know, helped you rescue me from ferncliff. Yeah, no. I mean, he did. And you have every right to appreciate him, but I was I was actually talking about myself. You know, dante is my best friend, and you’re doing this for him. I appreciate it. I appreciate you. I appreciate you, too. Sorry to keep you waiting. Olivia: Don’t apologize. Yes, we know how busy you are. Oh, unlike you, who gets to relax all day, every day. Relax? What’s that? Beats me. Well, portia’s doing rounds, so I’m as good as you’re going to get. And that’s great, because I only need one chief of staff to sign off. What am I looking at here? It’s a contract that would put city employees on gh’s health plan. Oh, that’s great. I think so. What our illustrious mayor is leaving out is that this was a culmination of her efforts. How did you pull this off? Well, there was a little bit of arm twisting involved, but I happen to believe that the city employees deserve access to the finest possible health care. Because, after all, they are the ones who keep the city running, so they deserve it. Not every politician would make that a priority.

[ Sighs ] You again? Well, I can come back, if you’re not up for talking. No, no. It’s alright. Just, I’m not really sure where all these conversations are leading, except back to a prison cell. Alright. Do you know where you are? You need new material, doc. [ Chuckles ] I’m in the hospital. Specifically. General hospital in good ol’ port charles, new york. Do you know what day it is? I wish. This place is like a casino. No clocks, lights are on all the time. It’s like I’m a slot machine and you’re a five-card stud. See what I did there? Very clever. I know everybody thinks I’m dumb, but it’s not true. All the horrible things that I did weren’t because of stupidity. It was more like… I don’t really know how to describe it. Try. It was like — like my blood was on fire, and the only way I could put out that fire was to do something crazy. Or highly illegal. That too. Hey —

[ Laughs ] I’m glad my hip’s better. You must be in much less pain. And it’s not just that. Now when they throw me back in the slammer, at least I’ll be able to pace the yard. It’s the small things, doc. So pcu keeps bothering me about finding a new roommate, and I’m holding out hope. Yeah, um, I still don’t know what I’m going to do about the fall. I mean, the sorbonne’s holding a spot for me, but I-I can’t even think about going back to paris. I’m not sure if I want to go back to pcu, either. Well, luckily, you still have enough time to decide. Yeah, and I can hold out on housing for as long as necessary, seriously. Thanks. Of course. Anything for you. Honey, that’s a real friend.

Febreze man: I don’t about y’all, but when it comes to working from home, I gotta have every part of my house clean. That means tidying up, then spraying my febreze air mist, to leave every room smelling fresh and clean. With that done, it’s time to get to work.

La la la la la anthony: This making you uncomfortable?Good. When you’ve got type 2 diabetes like me, you have up to 4 times greater risk of stroke, heart attack or worse death. Even when meeting your a1c goal. Discomfort can help you act. I’m not trying to scare you. I’m empowering you… to get real with your health care provider. Talk to them about lowering your risk of stroke, heart attack or death. You got a little wet there, too, didn’t you, bud? Let’s get dry.

[ Clears throat ] Matriarch quartermaine. Oh, hard no to that nickname. Okey-dokey. What should I call you, then? Tracy, I told you. Right. I’m honored. Can I have a word? Sure. Clothed? Oh. Um, yes. Sorry about that. It’s, uh…um. Okey-dokey. Here we go. Uh, how can I help you? Um. How can you help me? How can you — oh, uh, yes. I, uh — I, uh… was speaking with somebody earlier today and was reminded that I really enjoyed riding. And now that spring has sprung — you want to get back up on that horse? Pun intended. Yeah. Yes. Um, so I haven’t actually ridden any of the horses that we have now, so I want one with a sweet temper and an easy gait. Don’t we all? Right, well, why don’t you make yourself useful and help me make a selection? Alright, follow me. So you gonna go talk to him? No, no. And I-I don’t intend to wait on him, either. Josslyn, I have been out of the pi game for a minute, and I’m guessing you and dex aren’t together anymore? Ooh, very astute. What do you think your grandmother would say? About my relationship status? I mean, kelly’s — now bobbie’s — has always been a place where everyone felt welcome. Do you think she would want a customer ignored? Come on, that’s not fair. He’s not wrong. It is the hospitality business, right? Okay, fine. I will ask hunter to wait on him. Whoa. She’s the new manager. Manager? Yeah.

[ Exhales deeply ] Be an adult. I’m sorry the first you heard of my deal with deception was in an office with maxie and nina. Yeah, definitely caught me off-guard. I just — I assumed that if you had something that big coming up, that you would… tell me. I would have. Okay, I should have. But the first time I was approached by the deception team, nothing came of it, so I didn’t say anything, because I didn’t think anything was going to happen this time either. And then all of a sudden, it was done before I even had time to wrap my head around it. I wasn’t keeping it a secret from you, I swear. I get it. It’s okay. I was just… you know, the whole thing just blindsided me, honestly. But I can say that this is very cool for you, and I think this is great. It’s gonna really broaden your demographic. I just hope raising my profile will help my music career. Yeah, why wouldn’t it? I don’t know. It was a bumpy ride getting there, but the music world, I understand. Fashion and beauty world is a big unknown. Well, fortunately, you’ll have maxie. There is no one better than her. I mean, she’s savvy and she’s chic, and she’s also just so human, you know? Yeah, I do. Maxie’s great. When I’m not so sure of is me, and I’m — I’m not sure I’ll fit in with what people consider hot or pretty or trendy. Ally, you’re beautiful. You’re hot. And trendy? Well, who cares? I mean, that could change in the morning. I guess I’ll find out. But for now, my mom thinks it’s smart to keep my private life private. Is that going to be a problem for us? It’s official. Congratulations, mayor collins, and thank you. It’s my pleasure. And since I’m covering this for the invader, do you have any comment? Public relations isn’t really my strong suit. Can you make something up? Funny you should ask, because I’ve already drafted something up. Precise and to the point. Uh, on second thought, maybe I should have our public relations office come up with something. Let’s pretend… yeah? …The restraints don’t exist. You mean these guys? Gone, and the doctors and warden have told you that you are free to go wherever you want, do whatever you want. What would that look like? I think about that all the time. Do you? But it’s not what you’d expect. Try me. Okay, first thing I’d do? I would go and put flowers on my daughter’s grave. Then…I’d remember she’s not in it, so I’d go and I’d take those same flowers to that woman whose husband I killed. You know, the one who’s really beautiful. Sasha corbin. Yes. And I’d give them to her instead. And then if your brother had a will and left me something in it, which, spoiler alert, he didn’T. Well, let’s say that he did. Then…

[ Voice breaking ] …Buy a tiny, little house with a yard where my grandson could play. You know, I’d even get one of those playgrounds, you know, the simple kind with the swing, slide, and monkey bars. But, I mean, what good is it to torture myself with — with things that are impossible?

[ Exhales shakily ] I’m sorry. No, that’s enough for today. I’ll be back.

[ Door closes ] And what do you want? Is that how you talk to all the customers, or am I just lucky? What would you like today, sir? A lot of things I know I can’t have, so I’ll settle for a coffee and a grilled cheese, please. It’s coming right up. Dr. Robinson. Oh. Hi, kevin. I was just in with heather webber.

[ Sighs ] My apologies for that. Yes. I see, uh… a change in her since her surgery. The difference is, to be honest, quite striking. A-a difference in heather? You know, maybe you should try telling that to someone who didn’t almost lose their daughter to that madwoman.

So I plan on riding a few times a week. You won’t regret it. My thighs might. Nah. You’ll be back in riding shape in no time. That’s it? What? You’re not going to try to discourage me? Tell me I’m too old, too fragile, I might break a hip?

[ Chuckles ] I’ve been around long enough to know that tracy quartermaine is a lot of things, and fragile ain’t one of them. Glad you’re paying attention.

[ Door opens ] Tracy, hi. Hi, sasha. Not used to seeing you in the stables. Well, you better get used to it. Yep. You got to listen to the man. I plan on getting back in the saddle… pun intended. Good for you. So is this where you’ve been spending your time? I like horses, so I asked cody to put me to work. Well, I’d rather be here, too. But I am sorry that things didn’t work out with you and deception. Thank you. And I really appreciate you going to bat for me. I hope I didn’t seem ungrateful. I just realized that I don’t want to spend my days getting my picture taken. Well, that is definitely your prerogative. And I give you credit for making that decision and not going along with what everybody else wants. See you soon.

Adios.

[ Door closes ] That tracy. All bark, no bite. Yeah, no, there’s plenty of bite, but she does have her moments. Yes, she does. You know, when I was, uh — when I was sitting in that wheelchair, I felt so hopeless. I mean, you know, I knew I wasn’t the man that I was before, and, um, society didn’t help either. What do you mean? I got to know what it was like to be disabled in this world. Even if it was unintentional, you get the elbows to the face, you get drinks spilled in your lap. Even at my own club, the disrespect was real. I’m so sorry that you had to go through all of that. I’m not. I’m not sorry. It was a wake–up call, honey. It made me realize that I’m always going to be me, always, no matter whether I’m seated, whether I’m standing, or somewhere in between. And no one should be made to feel small — no one. Wife! Husband. And what is this dynamic duo up to? Oh, you will read about it tomorrow in the invader. Possibly the next day, depending on how fast the hospital’s pr can draft an appropriate comment. So the contracts are signed? They are signed, sealed, and delivered. From now on, the city employees will have access to gh’s health plan. Congratulations. I know the work you put in to make this happen. Yeah, I have to admit, it feels really good. So, are you headed home or back to city hall? Uh, no, actually, I thought that since I’m here at the hospital, I should go visit heather. You know, sort of fulfill my webber family duties. You’re too good. I am, aren’t I? Yeah, yeah. Find me after. I will. Okay. I love you. Love you. Alright. Have a good one. Uh, alexis, do you have a moment? I was wondering if I could run something by you, just to get a legal opinion. Now, you know that i cannot advise you legally. However, I can speak to you as a friend who has read a few books. Fair enough. So, hypothetically, let’s say someone has been convicted of horrible, heinous crimes. But we’ve since learned that there were mitigating circumstances, something that wasn’t known during the trial — not because someone hid it, but because no one knew it existed. You’re talking about heather webber? Thank you. Mm-hmm. Is that an employment packet? It is. Wow. I didn’t realize that they had agencies for bodyguards. Trying out a new line of work. You’re working for the port charles police department?

[ Cellphone ringing ] Phone call from the boss? Sorry

Ah, man. What? Nothing. I was just reminded of our first photo shoot, remember? How could I forget? I had the most handsome co-model. The alpaca, of course. Yeah. Yeah, he was adorable. Cody! Mama q, what’s good? What is this? It’s shepherd’s pie. The chicken was bad. No, no, I know what it is. In all fairness, that is — that is what you asked. I mean, who made it? Where did it come from? Sorry, just… josslyn jacks, at a loss for words. This is crazy. You’re going to go from working for sonny to working for the police? Quite the leap. Yeah, it’s reckless and stupid. Well, you’re assuming they’ll turn me down, but they actually invited me to apply. They’ll accept my military service in place of a college degree. All I have to do is take the test. But who knows? Maybe I’ll fail it. You’re not going to fail the test. And you can’t possibly think that this is a good idea. Why not? Because it makes you even more of a target for sonny. We can’t all be doctors, joss.

[ Scoffs ] What’s that look? Is something wrong at school? Not hungry? Mm. Yeah. My appetite’s been pretty weak these days. Besides, it’s this place as well. I thought you liked the food here. Yeah, I do. The food’s amazing. It’s just — I don’t come here as much since, you know… right. You and spencer used to come here a lot. Do I sound ridiculous? I can’t even have lunch with my own dad like a normal person. No, you don’t sound ridiculous. You sound like someone whose heart’s been broken. As long as we can be our authentic selves, be who we are when we’re with our friends and our family, that is enough for me. Are you sure? Because all I’ve done with deception so far is sign a contract. I can pull out of the deal. You would — you would blow this deal up for me? That’s the least of what I’d do for you. No. This could be huge for your career. Don’t get me wrong. I want to be successful. But I also want to be happy. And you? You make m e happy.

[ Laughs ] I’m sorry I haven’t been to visit more often. Well, why would you? I mean, you’re the mayor. I’m a convict. You got a city to run, and I… don’T. Yeah, well, but, you know, technically we’re family, right? I mean, we’re connected through our grandson. Speaking of, is he going to be calling you “mom” or “grandma”? I mean, now that you and kevin have adopted him. Um, yeah. I tell you, I haven’t even thought about that one yet, but I think I actually have a little bit of time before I have to cross that bridge. Yeah, yeah. I wonder what his first words are going to be. I used to wonder that about esmé, too. You know, you’re looking really well. How are you feeling? Well… I’m not in nearly as much pain. Oh, good. Good. From my hip, anyway. Is there something else bothering you? Not physically. But I can’t stop thinking about the disaster that is my life.

[ Voice breaking ] Laura, what have I done?

[ Crying ] Cobalt poisoning from an artificial hip? It sounds like fiction, I know, but it’s real. The official name is “metallosis.” Well, there is legal recourse. It’s called post-conviction relief. Now, some say it can be abused, and I know the governor has tightened up some loopholes over the years. So in the event of, say, a forced confession or coerced guilty plea or suppressed evidence or evidence that hasn’t been discovered until after the fact, yes, the case can be reopened. So it’s a possibility? A real one. Please, please, please, don’t tell me that you’re considering letting heather webber skate on multiple homicide charges. I miss spencer all the time, but it’s worse in places where we used to be together, especially here. And it seems normal, like, in an instant, like a literal split second, I’ll forget, and the door will open and I’ll look up, thinking that he’s going to be there. And then… and then he’s not. Honey, I know our situations are different, but you know how I had to learn how to walk again? Yeah. You’re going to have to do something similar. How?

[ Sighs ] Well… it’s going to take patience, grace, it’s definitely going to take time. But, honey, broken hearts, like broken bones, do mend themselves together again. Now, maybe not as strong as they once were, in some ways, but miraculously stronger in others. I so want to believe you. That’s okay. I got enough faith for the both of us. Trina, honey, you will love again, and you will be loved again. And I can say that with utmost certainty. Yeah, but you have to say that, because you’re my dad. No, because there’s no one on this planet more deserving of love than you. School’s fine. I — I just, you know, I’m not sure that pre-med is for me anymore. Since when? I’ve been rethinking a lot of my decisions lately. I just thought you wanted to be a healer, that’s all. Well, you can heal the world in plenty of other ways. I mean, look at what pre-med did to adam. Yeah, but you’re not adam. Well, I also see how hard trina’s mom works, and the patients aren’t always grateful, or even good people. Patients like cyrus renault?

[ Scoffs ]

I used the potatoes and vegetables you had already prepped, and I found some ground beef in the fridge. I hope that’s okay. Okay? I can’t tell. Did that mean okay or not okay? It’s amazing! It meant okay. Thanks, cody. Really? Really? Absolutely. Absolutely. It looks delicious. Okay, great. I mean, sam and dante and the kids are going to be so psyched, a, to have a home-cooked meal and, b, that it’s not one of my standard recipes that I’m sure they’re very sick of. It does smell good. Brando always liked it. How could he not? Honey, thank you so much, truly. Hey, you’re welcome. I’m happy to help. Well, I am going to go deliver this. I’ll make sure you get the credit. See you later. See you later, mama Q. Bye. Bye. Wow. You just racking up the hidden talents, aren’t you? You got selling beauty products, ax throwing, shoveling horse manure, now, chef extraordinaire. What’s next? I’m no slouch at curling or ice fishing either. No. This, I gotta see. Stick around, and you just might. Oh, good lord. Ready? Yeah. Let’s do this. Okay. Okay. One step. Yep, yeah. Look at that. Look at that. He’s cool. I got this. There we go. And he’s standing up straight. You know. Posture. Anything else? Nope. This looks great. Portia: This is insane. You have to know this, right? Kevin: Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Just listen to what we’re saying. I’m listening. I’m listening to everything you’re saying. It makes no sense. Clearly I’m interrupting. Everything okay? Everything’s fine, really. How was your visit with heather? Uh, well, actually, it was surprisingly calm and uneventful. Have you noticed a change in heather? I would love to get your thoughts about her progress. You want my thoughts on heather webber? Yeah. Let me see. Laura, don’t try to sell me on this poor, misunderstood heather webber. That woman is a murderer, and she pulled one over on everyone. And you want to let her do it again? Of course, this is very personal for you. Of course it’s personal for me. Kevin was just asking me if there was any legitimate legal reason — no, no, no. No, I don’t want to hear it. I don’t want to hear any of that, especially from you, alexis, considering you don’t even practice law anymore. And after this, I think I’m seeing why. Don’t hold back. No, I won’t, because I don’t care. I don’t care how nice or changed or victimized heather seems to be to you. How much time have you actually spent with her? How much time have you actually spent with that woman? A moment here, a moment there. Why don’t you try being me or a member of my staff who’s actually had to deal with her unhinged madness 24/7. And just so you know, this doesn’t even touch on the pain that it has caused my family and countless other families. So you know what? You want to bring her case in front of a judge and a jury? I want you to do it, because I’ll fight it. I will fight you with every breath that is in my body.

Liam: How can finn show up for sheila?

Steffy: It’s important to him.

Liam: Yeah, no, I know. I’ve heard it. She’s his birth mother. But she’s also his attempted murderer.

Steffy: Okay.

Liam: And yours.

Steffy: Trust me, liam. I feel the same way you do.

Liam: Then how… are you so calm?

Steffy: I left it up to finn. It was his decision to attend sheila’s memorial or not.

Finn: Well, I imagine it’s just gonna be the– the three of us.

Deacon: Yeah.

Finn: It’s pretty sad so few people in the world cared about sheila.

Hope: Well, she did make more enemies than friends.

Finn: Yeah, still, it’s just… well, it’s a shame.

Deacon: Well, we can’t dwell on that now that she’s gone. We have to do our very best to pay tribute to the one and only sheila carter.

[ Knocking on door ]

Donna: Lauren! Hi!

Lauren: Is now a good time?

Donna. It is always a good time.

[ Eric laughs ]

Eric: Oh, don’t be silly. Come in, come in. I– I didn’t– I didn’t realize you were gonna be in town.

Lauren: Oh, I just flew in for a quick meeting. Gotta hug you. Oh, because I am so grateful to see you alive and well.

Eric: Thank you.

[ Lauren laughs ] Thank you.

Lauren: I have been so worried about you. I didn’t want to impose, so ridge has been keeping me updated on your condition.

Eric: Yeah, he told me. Thank you. Thanks for being so concerned. And– and the flowers, they were wonderful. Thank you. Huge flowers. My goodness. I could feel your encouragement all the way from genoa city. Thanks.

Lauren: Aw.

Eric: Speaking of which, please tell victor and nikki um, how sorry we are not to be able to come to their party. Uh, we’ll see them again soon.

Lauren: Okay.

Donna: Oh, and say hello to nick, their– their– son, please, for us.

Lauren: Of course, absolutely. I will give them your regards.

Eric: Thank you.

Donna: But he’s– he is just looking fabulous, isn’t he? I mean, he’s getting stronger and stronger by the day, and–

Lauren: Yes. Eric, you are vibrant and handsome as always.

Donna: Yes.

Eric: Now, you see, this is why I’m getting better.

[ Donna laughs ]

Donna: Oh, uh, we’re so glad that you stopped by. I hope that you can stay for a little, at least.

Lauren: Well, there is another reason I stopped by. Sheila is finally dead.

Liam: What is your husband thinking?

[ Liam laughs ]

Steffy: Liam, I’m trying to see his side of things. But it is nice that someone sees my side too.

Liam: He realizes why you’d be upset, right?

Steffy: Yeah. Yeah, I was shocked when he announced that he wanted to go to sheila’s memorial. But… like it or not, I mean, this is a woman who brought him into this world, and finn did say he has this…

[ Groans ] …This connection to her. So, I said I wouldn’t stand in the way if he wanted to go today.

Finn: Gosh, I felt the– the need to show up and pay respects.

Hope: Well, I’m surprised steffy even let you come.

Finn: Well, she wasn’t exactly pleased, but… she’s trying to consider my feelings and understand my perspective.

Deacon: Glad she’s not giving you too rough a time.

Finn: Well, it’s complicated for steffy, obviously, but–

Deacon: Yeah. Well, I guess we, uh, can’t put it off any longer. We should get the service started and say farewell to sheila. What is cirkul? Cirkul is the fuel you need to take flight. Cirkul is the energy that gets you to the next level. Cirkul is what you hope for when life tosses lemons your way. Cirkul, available at walmart and drinkcirkul.Com.

When you see what

it’s really like

Lauren: I can’t believe everything that steffy has gone through. Thank god she’s okay.

Eric: Yeah.

Lauren: How is she coping?

Donna: Uh, well, you know, the memories of the night still haunt her. I mean, imagine stabbing someone to death. You know, honestly, we’re just– we’re grateful that there were no children in the house or no pets got hurt.

Lauren: Yes.

Eric: Yeah.

Lauren: Yeah.

Donna: I mean, yes, the whole situation is very unfortunate, but it could have been a lot worse.

Lauren: Yeah, um, I mean, now steffy has to live with what she did.

Donna: Yeah.

Lauren: To take a life, even a life not worth living like sheila, it’s deeply unsettling.

Eric: She’s doing her best to put it behind her.

Lauren: And now the saga is finally over.

Eric: Well, except for today. It’s being punctuated by, uh– deacon sharpe is hope’s father. And he and sheila have been living together recently. They’ve gotten– they had gotten very close. And so he’S… he’s giving a memorial service for her today.

Steffy: Well, what am I supposed to do, liam? Am I supposed to just forbid him from going? I mean, there’s already just so much tension between us. I don’t want to add more to it. I just don’T.

Liam: Yeah, I hear you.

Steffy: Obviously, he has this connection to sheila, but I don’t know– I don’t know what it feels like to be in his shoes. I’m just–

Liam: Yeah, okay, but he doesn’t know what it feels like to be in yours either. I mean, you– you’re just constantly victimized by this… this psychopath. Actually, here’s something you have in common. You both almost lost your lives in the alley that day because of her.

Steffy: But it– I guess it impacted us differently.

Liam: Steffy, it’s a miracle either of you are still alive.

Steffy: I just don’t want to think about her anymore.

Liam: Whoa, hey, look, now you don’t have to, right? Because sheila’s taken her last breath.

Steffy: Yeah. Yeah, we just got to get through the day, okay? Let finn say his goodbyes. Yeah, and then we’ll just move on with our lives. No, we’re determined to not let anything come between us. Certainly not sheila. Especially now that she’s dead.

Deacon: I wasn’t looking for sheila when she showed up in my life. And it was unexpected. Next thing I know… man, I’m in deep. There was, uh… a flame that ignited between the two of us and I… man, I was hooked. Um… you know, sheila and I, we, um… we had something special. It was rare. Definitely unique. I– I can’t remember… if I read this or if I heard it, but… someone said that love is when two people… each have a hole in their heart… and when the wind blows through, it plays the same sad song. I don’t know if that’s true. I do know that sheila and i were more alike than i sometimes cared to admit. And she– she just got me, man. She got me and I got her and… I know this is going to sound ironic, but… she brought out the best in me. She kept me on the straight and narrow. She pushed me to achieve all of this. Made me want to be a better man. Turn my life around. And I thought she was doing the same thing. You know, she was– she was doing everything the right way. Right up until that night. And finn, I just do not understand why she went to your place that night. And I guess I never will. And so all I’m left with is that… that hole in my heart that I talked about. Because I got to figure out a way to say goodbye to sheila. I got to figure out and let her go. File 100% free with turbotax free edition.

Lauren: A memorial service is a time for loved ones to express nice sentiments about the deceased. Who on earth would have anything nice to say about sheila?

Eric: Well, uh, deacon was very enamored with her.

Donna: Uh, yeah, somehow he, uh, cared about her and wants to give her a nice send-off.

Eric: I don’t imagine he expects a very large turnout.

Donna: No, no. I mean, you weren’t planning to make an appearance or–

Lauren: Oh, god, no. No, I would have a hard time holding back about all the horrible things that she did to me over the years.

Eric: It’s quite a list.

Lauren: I actually wouldn’t know where to begin. The blackmail. All the times she tried to kill me. Or the times she tried to drown me in a hot tub.

Sheila: Bitch!

Lauren: Sheila! Sheila! Sheila!

Sheila: Look what you just–

Lauren: Bitch!

[ Both grunting ] You wouldn’t dare! Sheila was a menace. She was dangerous. You never knew what she was going to do next. Thank god steffy finally ended her, once and for all.

Steffy: I didn’t ask for this. I never wanted to be put in this position.

Liam: Of course, you didn’T. Sheila put you there. And I’m really impressed with your restraint. I don’t think I could be so cool about it.

Steffy: Well, I’m trying. I just hope that finn gets some closure somehow.

Liam: Is that even possible?

Steffy: Honestly, I don’t even know. I hope he finds peace and clarity. But, uh… he’s just such a kind human being. He really is. He’s compassionate, and it’s one of the reasons I fell in love with him. And his grace for people, even when they don’t deserve it.

Liam: Well, sheila has done nothing to earn any grace from anyone.

Steffy: Honestly, the only people I think are going to be there are just… deacon and finn at the service.

Liam: Uh… yeah, they’re not the only ones. Hope is going.

Finn: I don’t really know what to say. Um… what am I supposed to say? Um… you, um, you s– you showed up at– at my wedding. And… introduced yourself as… as my birth mother. And… yeah, that was one of the happiest moments that I had known. To… get to finally meet the woman that I had dreamed about and– and connect with you. And… you know, hearing the… hearing you… call me your son. But… then in an instant, you turned my life upside down. You shot me. You shot my wife. Which is why I… I have no idea what I am doing here. Because sheila wasn’t a mother to me. But, um… yeah, she did… she did give me life. And… there must be something innate in me, something that defies logic, to have any reason to feel anything for you. But I do. Mom, I do. At dot’s an ordinary pretzel just isn’t enough.

Eric: I think that everybody has been a victim of sheila at one time or another.

Lauren: But if memory serves, things weren’t always bad between the two of you.

Eric: No, no. It started out beautifully. I was… I was enchanted by her the first time she came into the office.

Sheila: I’d love to watch your child, mr. Forrester. And I promise you, he’ll be in very good hands.

Eric: Thank you, sheila.

Sheila: He wants me, he really wants me.

Eric: I regret very much introducing her into our– into our lives, into our family.

Donna: Eric, come on. You can’t blame yourself.

Eric: Yeah, I do.

Donna: You had no way of knowing who she really was.

Lauren: The important thing is that she is no longer a threat to any of us, thanks to steffy.

Donna: Oh, yeah.

Lauren: Good riddance to sheila carter.

Steffy: Hope’s at the memorial? I’m surprised she even wanted to go.

Liam: Well, she says she didn’t, that she’s only there to support her dad. Apparently, deacon is really broken up about sheila dying.

Deacon: So, this is it, babe. Yeah, I don’t know how to say goodbye to you. You… were a hell of a woman. Gorgeous. Tough. Wild. And tender. And I feel like a part of me is missing. I hope… wherever you are, that you’ve… found the peace… and the happiness that you always wanted. And know that… we’ll be together again someday.

Steffy: Goodbye and good riddance, sheila.

Eric: So long, sheila. May you finally be at peace.

Deacon: Goodbye, my love.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

So, we have pistachios, we have granola bars, we have an oatmeal cookie, yes, and books. We have more books of my favorite Stephen King novels, The Stand, and The Shawshank Redemption. Oh, great. The books I’m actually gonna read, you know, cause my life still has no internet, no Wi Fi, So, you know, binge watching Yellowstone is just not in the cards for me, is it?

I’m not complaining. I’m not complaining. This is better than Statesville. Don’t get me wrong, okay? I just, you know, miss the daily brawls at Statesville every now and then. Break up the monotony of this whole place, but it’s okay. I’m at the point in my life right now where I’m, never thought I would say this, but I’m looking forward to Vespers.

You know, a month ago, I didn’t even know what Vespers were. So you’re, you’re praying a lot? Yes, Mom. I’m praying a lot. Praying that I get out of here. Praying that I can see my family. Praying that I get my life back.

Alex. Hi there. Hey, Dr. Evans. Hey. I haven’t seen you for a while. I know, right? Not since, um, the night Theresa left. Please, sit down. Thank you. Of course. I’m assuming Brady brought you up to speed on the latest? Yes, he did. He told me that you’d moved on with Kristen. I have to admit, it made me wonder. What?

It made me wonder why you would get involved with somebody who is so difficult. And I thought maybe you had some, you know, ulterior motive.

So, feel good to be home? Amazing, especially after having that stupid ankle monitor removed. Man, I hated that thing. Well, that thing is gone. We are just so glad that you’re here. So, do you want to take a nap or something? You gotta be exhausted, buddy. Are you kidding? I’m way too wound up to be tired. I’m also kind of hungry.

You hungry? Do we, should we get dinner? What do you want? What do you want? Uh, I’ve kind of been dreaming of a buddy’s burger with onion rings and that, that awesome ranch dipping sauce. Oh, okay. Alright. If you want a buddy’s burger with the onion rings and the amazing ranch dipping sauce, that’s what you’re gonna get.

Your dad’s gonna go out and get it for you. No problem. No, it’s okay. Don’t worry. Um, I, I really want to go out. I just, you know, want to be around people. What people? I, my, my friends. And, you know, I haven’t seen them in a while. I texted them when I got back. We just, we just wanted to hang out. Well, if Holly is one of those friends, you can forget it.

You’re going to stay right here.

Hey, Mom. Uh, Harold said you wanted to see me. Hi, Mom. Sit down, Holly.

Mom, please. Stop. Don’t say another word. Mom, I just. Honey. This is how this is gonna work. I’m going to talk, and you’re going to listen.

Like sand through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives.

Okay, listen, if you’re insinuating that I’m not attracted to Kristen No, no, I wasn’t insinuating anything. Oh, there you are. Oh, I hope I’m not late. Uh, no, no, no, not at all. Uh, not at all. Uh, we’re just, um, Well, we’re, we’re having supper. We’re having kind of a girl’s night out. Oh, nice. Which I’ve been so looking forward to.

And so have I. I’m sorry, do you, do you know Alex Kiriakis? Yes, yes. We have met. Yes, we have, Mayor Price. Good to see you. Looking fabulous, might I add. And may I also add, I am very happy to hear about your recovery. You’re amazing. Not that we all didn’t already know that. Hmm, okay. Uh, is there anything else?

Why are you buttering me up, Mr. Kiriakis? Is there any particular reason? Not at all. I just appreciate strong, beautiful women. That’s all. Oh, I have a feeling that you appreciate a whole lot of women. And I was just leaving for the night. Thank you both, Dr. Evans. Very good to see you. See you soon, Alex. Is he your patient?

Never mind, never mind, I know you can’t answer that. Anyway, I hope he is because I’m guessing that, that guy needs some help. How are you, Paulina? Good. I am just fine and so very grateful that you asked me out. It’s been too long. Has been too long. Has been too long. I was hoping that I could take you to the bistro, but sadly it hasn’t reopened yet.

Probably, probably for the best, for me anyway. Oh, at least I don’t have to stare at all. Buttery French food that I can’t eat while I’m on this miserable low iodine diet before my treatment. Well, hopefully you will find something in this menu to your liking. Oh, I know I can without even looking. I’m gonna have a vodka meat.

Waiter!

Lucas, I’m praying too. Really? I was just hoping you could do a little bit more than that, but Okay, like, like what? You knew that the, that the deal to shorten your sentence was never finalized, right? Right. I know that. It’s not my fault that I got attacked before I could do what I had to do, before I could out Weston.

Well, of course not. But the point is, he escaped, so I don’t know what we have now to persuade them to let you out early. So what are you saying? What are you saying, Mom? I’m stuck here? I just gotta do my time.

Did I say Holly? Did I even mention her name? Holly is one of your friends, right? Is she not? So what? Why are you even asking me that? Are you guys gonna continue to treat me like a prisoner? And my god, I’ve been stuck in rehab and then a halfway house for months for no reason! We don’t think that you are a prisoner, we just We don’t want you seeing or speaking to Holly Jonas for obvious reasons.

We know you’ve been cooped up. We know you’re anxious to get out there and see your friends, but I think your mom, I think she was hoping that you would just stick around here tonight, you know? We missed you. I’ve missed you guys too, but I saw you when you came to visit. I haven’t seen my friends in forever.

So please, just for tonight, can I go out? Just to be a thousand percent. Sure, you are not going to see I’m not going to see Holly Okay, then then I want you to have fun And uh, have a good time, okay, thanks dad. I’ll see you mom. I promise I won’t be out late Better not be

What do you think your consequences should be for what you did To be honest, I kind of thought I’d be grounded by now Yeah, well, I wanted to make sure that I thought things through and that I wasn’t coming from a place of anger or embarrassment or hurt. And I know the purpose of consequences is to stop the behavior from happening in the future, obviously.

So you talk about in therapy, Dr. Evans. We talk about a lot of things. Mostly me. Well, frankly, honey, that’s none of your business. And like I said, I just, I wanted to make sure that the punishment fit the crime. And what you did, honey, was a crime. You lied to the police. You let EJ prosecute an innocent bystander who was your friend.

And I know you said you were trying to protect me. And even if that was true. It is true. Regardless. I think part of you was just trying to protect yourself.

Let me be clear, honey. I am the one who is supposed to protect you, and if you just had been open and honest with me from the beginning, none of this would have happened. It’s true. So whatever punishment you have for me, I know I deserve it.

Okay, Lucas, look. We can’t just give up, okay? I’m not giving up on getting you out of here. I’m just not doing that. It has to count for something, that you almost got killed because you informed on Clyde. Alright? Look it, Harris has recovered, he’s out of the hospital, so You know what? He needs to step up.

He got me into this mess. He keeps making promises he can’t keep. Okay. Trust me. If he doesn’t come through on his promises, then I’m going straight to the governor. And I’m going to do something about this. Cause one way or another, you’re getting your freedom back.

Now, mind you, I’m not supposed to be having more than one alcoholic drink a day on this diet. Uh, and mostly I’ve been drinking water and club soda. I’m glad to hear that. But I decided to indulge tonight because I’m having a girl’s night out. Like you said, with a different, I’m glad we can make this happen.

Me too. Me too. But I’m telling you more later for a no big deal. Cancer, this treatment, ooh, some pain in the ass. Mind you, mind you. I am very grateful that I am alive to be going through this pain in the ass treatment. We are all so grateful. And I suspect that it might be difficult for you to, to be in isolation.

You’re just, you’re normally so active. Oh, I am dreading not being able to see someone’s eyes glaze over when I talk their ear off. You don’t do that. You’re a wonderful conversationalist. And maybe you’ll be able to relish the quiet. Oh, I highly doubt it. See, I got weeks of that when I was in the hospital, so I’m over it.

Truth is, there is nothing about sitting in isolation that I am going to relish. Especially being separated from my husband. Well, the first thing you’re going to do is make amends with Tate. Well, that’s a little hard to do seeing as his parents don’t want me to see him. And you’re going to respect their wishes by writing to them.

And to him, letters by hand, not text or snap. Mom, Tate knows how sorry I am. Good, and you’re gonna remind him. Very sincerely. And very empathetically. Honey, you You took months away from Tate’s life that you can never give back. And quite frankly, I’m surprised that he found it in his heart to forgive you.

Have you, Mom? Will you ever forgive me?

Tate? I didn’t realize you were allowed to Wait, are you supposed to be out here right now? I’m supposed to be wherever I want. Yeah, but you can get in big trouble if you get caught. No, I can’t. I was, uh, I was just released today. Okay. What? Really? Yes. Really. That’s great news, man. I’m happy for you. You don’t have to pretend to care.

That you’re happy. I’m free now. I’m not stupid, alright? And I know you broke up with my mom, and I know you were two seconds away from calling the cops on me just now. Ugh.

Sorry the tape flew out of here so fast. Yeah, well, I can’t blame him. I mean, what kid wants to stay home with their parents and eat cake? I don’t know, I think that chocolate cake was a pretty good reason to hang around. As are you. Back at you. I just can’t believe he’s finally home. You know, I thought this day would never come.

I know. Kind of feels like the nightmare is finally over. Thank God. I don’t think Tate’s going to be too happy though when he sees that all my stuff has kind of taken over his room. I have to clear out of there and, uh Teresa, Teresa. He packs light anyway. There’s no reason he can’t just stay on the couch.

No. He can’t. No, absolutely not. The poor kid hasn’t slept in his own bed in months. I’m not going to do that to him. Okay, then, then, then why don’t you just sleep in my bed?

Uh, and, uh, Marlena, while we’re on the subject of my previous hospital stay, there is something I’d like to ask you about my, uh, well, My near death experience. Okay. See, now I’ve, I’ve heard about what happens when you’re, uh, brain dead. That the brain releases neurochemicals that Make, make you see things that aren’t there.

Did you see something that wasn’t there? I did. At least I think I did. Maybe I was just dreaming. But it all felt so real. First, There was this bright light. That’s a very common occurrence. You know that? Yes. Yes. I do know that. But then

Marlena, do you believe in ghosts?

To be perfectly clear, your mother was the one who broke up with me more or less. Oh yeah. And I’m actually very happy to hear that you’ve been released. Hey, If you remember, I was the guy who hired your first lawyer. And if your mom didn’t fire him, you might have gotten out a long time ago. Not that I’m blaming her at all.

I’m just really happy everything worked out in the end. Me too. Obviously. Yeah. So your mom was crashing in your old room, right? Where’s she gonna go now that you’re home? Uh, I don’t know. I hadn’t really thought about it. Your bed?

Yeah. I mean, you can, uh, you can sleep in my bed and I’ll sleep on the couch. Oh, wait a minute, you Did you, did you think that I meant No. No. No. No, I didn’t think that. Absolutely not. Uh huh. Anyway, I wouldn’t take your bed. That wouldn’t be right. Theresa, I would be totally fine with it, okay? No. I wouldn’t do that.

So, I guess there’s only one thing left for me to do. And what would that be? It’s time for me to move out. Where are you gonna go? I don’t know. I’ll rent a room at the Salem Inn. I’ll figure it out. Theresa, you don’t have to do that. Yes, I do. I’m moving out, Brady. I think this is best for everybody. Of course I forgive you.

I’m so, I’m, I’m, I’m angry and I’m sad. I’m done. And I’m scared. Scared? Why? Mom, I’m fine. For now. Honey, how long were you using drugs before what happened on New Year’s? A few weeks. That’s all, I swear. And the drugs you were taking? Where did you get them? At school. And not to like, freak you out mom, but they’re kind of everywhere.

I know, honey, I’m aware of that. But mom, you gotta know that after what happened, oh my god, I will never, ever use again. I sure as hell hope not. And I hope that there are fewer drugs on the streets, at least in Salem anyway, now that Clyde Weston’s drug ring has been busted. Yeah, but, Mom, you also have to know that I never thought something like this could happen.

I mean, so many kids have prescriptions for these pills. Yes, but they’re using them for a medical condition. You’re not. And honey, you have no idea what you’re getting off the streets. And you learned that in the hardest way possible. Believe me, Mom, I’ve learned my lesson. Have you?

I mean, have you used or, or had a drink since that night, since New Year’s Eve? A drink? A drink. You know alcohol is a drug too. And I shouldn’t have to remind you that you are underage. Uh, Okay, well, After the christening, when Eric gave me an ultimatum to tell you the truth, I, I was really nervous and scared, so, So I had some champagne.

Great. Right under my nose. You were busy, and I was very stealth, and it was only two glasses. I promise nobody could even tell.

Well, thank you for being honest with me, Holly. But I need to be honest with you. I want to trust you. I do. But now you’ve just shown me that I can’t.

My fate lies in the hands of Harris Michaels. That’s great. Swell. It’s worked out so far. Look, Lucas. He saved my life. Yeah. Well, he almost got you killed, so. Well, you, my friend, have to have a little faith, okay? But in the meantime, I need you to promise me that no matter how bored you get, you will not leave this place.

No matter what. Because let me tell you, Clyde has eyes and ears everywhere. Even at the Salem PD. What does that bastard want with me? I can’t bring him down. You said it yourself. Okay. Well, I probably know him better than anyone. And let me tell you, that man, unfortunately, is all about revenge. Oh, great.

Great. So even if I get out of Statesville, what’s going to happen? I’m not going to be safe until he’s dead? Paulina, tell me about what happened in the hospital. Tell me about this near death experience. Um,

Buckle up, Marlena. Because you’re gonna think I’m crazy. That word is not in my vocabulary. Well, then, you’re gonna think I’m clinically insane. Look, whatever happened, it brought you back to us, and for that we will always be grateful. Well, it’s lovely to hear that. Okay. So then, uh, here goes.

After I saw the light, Abe’s late wife, Lexi, appeared. At first I thought she was going to take me into the light, you know, to cross to the other side. But she wasn’t. She told me she wanted me to stay with Abraham. Then, all of a sudden, I was healed. He got his memory back. It was a double miracle. That it was.

And look now, I know, I know, I know I had a lot of medication in me. But, Abe, he saw the same thing. Now, do you, so, do you, you think that, Really could have happened.

Do you answering a question with a question that what they teach you to do in shrink school now and then? Yeah, that’s what I figured. Joking aside now. Yeah, I’m just I’m just starting to, you know, to wonder. Wonder what? Well, you know, you know, uh, I heard Kate’s voice from, you know, in the, you know, outside of that urn, you know, at the Brady pub, way back, when she was supposed to be dead.

So, You think maybe I have some kind of extrasensory perception or something? Hmm. You know, there are so many things in this world that we don’t understand. I think nothing would surprise me anymore.

I’m not really sure where she’s gonna live, but I’m sure she’ll figure it out. She always does. Hey, Tate, um, would you mind just letting her know how happy I am that everything worked out okay for you? Why don’t you tell her yourself? You guys work together, right? Yeah, well, she’s kind of been avoiding me at the office, so.

Mm, yeah. You know, I feel like there’s a simple solution to that problem. One that doesn’t involve, you know, playing telephone through me. You are very mature for your age, young man. Has anybody ever told you that? I don’t think so, yeah. Nobody’s ever told me that either, so.

Hey man, if you don’t mind me asking, and you talking about it, what happened? How did you get released? Uh, Holly finally remembered that the drugs she overdid on were hers. What do you mean she finally remembered? Wouldn’t she know that, like, all along? Hard to say. Or you just don’t want to say? At all. That she let you take the fall for her, didn’t she?

It’s, it’s complicated. She was going through a lot. Oh my god, you are covering for a girl who put you through absolute hell. You are a better man than me, my friend. I don’t think I would ever be able to forgive somebody who screwed me over like that. You sure I can’t talk you into staying? You know, I don’t know.

I think it’s best that I just walk out of here on a high note. Instead of you and me fighting, for once we fought together. For Tate. And we won. We did. We’ve come a long way, baby. Yeah, we have. I will, uh, I’ll miss having you around. Ditto.

I’ll see you at the office, right? Uh, yeah, no, actually, I’ve been working remotely since I broke things off with Alex. You know, it’s less awkward that way. Look, Theresa, if you want, I can help smooth that over a little bit. No. No. It’s okay. I’m a big girl. I can, I can handle it. I know. Then I will, uh, See you sometime, somewhere else.

Yeah, definitely. Gee, I can help you with those bags if you want. No, I’m good. Thank you. And I’ll write a thank you note to John and Marlena for letting me stay.

Take care, Brady.

I don’t get it. I just told you the truth and now all of a sudden you don’t trust me? You almost died, Holly. And you still clearly have not learned your lesson. Mom. And the only way to earn my trust back is through time and hard work. So the first thing that you’re gonna do is go to therapy. And not because it’s a punishment.

I just think you need it after all the trauma that you went through. And that is non negotiable. Okay. Fine. Yes. And if the therapist thinks that you need further treatment, then Like rehab? Mom, no. Don’t tell me no. You just admitted that you drank shortly after you came out of a coma from a drug overdose.

I hadn’t just come out of it. I’d been okay for a while. And what, like, you haven’t had two glasses of champagne when you were my age? Come on, you were doing a lot Excuse me! Don’t you dare, don’t you dare throw my past in my face! That was different.

I thought at the very least you would be contrite. I am. I’m sorry. Really sorry.

Honey, can you even grasp what you have put Tate and Tate’s family through? He was beat up in jail. I was in a coma, Mom. For months. It’s not my fault that EJ went ballistic on him. Tate discouraged you from taking those drugs. He was trying to protect you. And the only reason he was made out to be a villain was because EJ believed me when I said you would never take drugs.

Okay.

The only way, um, that I’m gonna feel better about this whole thing is that I make sure that you are no longer in danger of relapsing. Which means you are grounded indefinitely. What? You can’t do that! I have to see my friend! Well, then you can see your friends here. Now give me your phone and your car keys.

Oh my Now!

You know, I’m pretty sure I can swing an exemption to the no visitor policy since I’m on staff at the hospital. Oh, no, no, no, no. I would not want you exposing yourself to radiation, Marlena. I wouldn’t be. I’d be able to wear the suit and keep my visits very brief. You sure? Oh, I’m sure. Oh, oh, you’re a good friend, Molly.

Oh, and I’m a terrible one. Why would you say that? Because here we’ve been talking about me the whole time and I haven’t asked you a thing about you. Your life has been a whole lot more exciting than mine the last couple weeks. I find that hard to believe. You know, to be honest, you, you don’t, you don’t seem like yourself.

Is everything alright? Oh, I’m not covering very well. Oh, no, I can tell. You’re making the effort, but, uh, I can see the worry in your face. Uh, but hey, you know, if you don’t want to talk about it No, you know, the thing is that it’s, it’s about John. He’s been going through a lot of revelations about his past.

Oh, I’m very sorry to hear that. Ooh, well I’ve been there myself and I know it can be difficult to exercise those deep, uh, to move on. Yeah, well. He, he will be fine. He’ll get through it just fine. And I’m, and I’m there to support him and help him. Yeah, I’m guessing this isn’t your first time at that rodeo.

Yeah. No. But John’s been going through this for a very long time. Well, He’s lucky to have you. I’m lucky to have him too.

We both are.

To us. Amen to that.

Hey, Teresa. Can I help you with that? Uh, no, I’m

Actually, Yeah, that would be great, yeah. You know, I just ran into Tate. I told him to tell you how happy I am that he’s out of the halfway house. But I guess now I’m actually telling you that myself. Hmm. Yeah, right. Um, hey, thank you for what you did to support him. In case I didn’t show my appreciation. No, no, you didn’t.

I also asked him where you’re going to be crashing now that he’s home. I’m gonna get a room at the Salem Inn until I figure out a more permanent solution. Why? What do you mean, why? I mean, half of your belongings are at my place, which is, you know, a little hard to believe considering you have all this here.

Anyway, why would you be spending money on a hotel room? We started this thing off as a platonic living arrangement, and there’s no reason why we couldn’t get back to it. Um, actually, I can think of a few reasons.

Oh my God, you want me to give up my phone and my freedom? Those are the terms. No. Excuse me? Did you just say no to me? Let me remind you who is in charge here. I’ve been in a coma for months, Mom. I haven’t seen my friends. I haven’t done anything but sleep and almost die. If you’re so happy I’m alive, then why won’t you just let me live?

Giving up your phone isn’t going to kill you. Yes, it will. My entire life is on that. Well, that’s your first problem. That’s funny, because you didn’t think so when you got it for me when I was only 10. So then when I walked myself home from school, you’d know I got there. So I could be completely self sufficient when you weren’t around.

Order my own meals, buy my own clothes. That way you wouldn’t have to think about me at all. Whoa, whoa, that is not true. Well, here’s what is true. You’re punishing me for lying and the only, yes, the only reason I lied was so that you wouldn’t think you were a bad mom. But, you know what? The truth is I started taking those drugs because you were completely checked out.

My father died before I was born and all I’ve ever had was you. I mean, yeah, sure, there was Eric before you screwed that up and made him walk out on us. And now there’s EJ who doesn’t give a damn about me and God knows who will be next year.

Give me your phone. Now.

Here, but I’m not giving you the password. Hallie, I’m not going to go through your phone. I just don’t want you to call any dealers. Dealers? Really? Geez, Mom, why do you always have to be so extreme? Oh, you want to go there? Okay. Okay. You plotted to break up Johnny and Chanel, and now you’re all up in it with Tate?

Seems you always want what you can’t have. Just like me. Honey, I love you. I love you with all my heart, and I will do anything to protect you, even if you hate me for it.

I’m gonna go upstairs to bed, and you should too. Good night. Mmm. Mmm.

Oh. Oh, you know, these carrot sticks have a lot more appeal when paired with vodka. Ha ha ha ha. Mmm. Mmm. Mmm. Maybe. It’s just the company. Oh, I agree. We should do this again soon. Oh, yes, yes, we should now. Soon as I’m un radioactive. Let’s make a date. Yes. You know, you’re going to come through this with flying colors.

Oh, well, I hope so. You know, Marlena, you and me. We’re some tough broads, aren’t we? We are some tough broads. To us. To us, your bride.

Well, thanks for bringing me all this stuff. Especially the books, I really like the books. Ah, more to come. Oh, great. No internet, no wifi, so books are important. I’m gonna be a nerd. Book, bookworm, nerd. It’s gonna be great. Yeah. Well, books are sad for the lonely soul. I’ll just say what they say. Thanks. Yeah, I’ve just never been so lonely for this long, ever, in my life.

You have to hang in there, okay? It’s not gonna be forever.

I hope you’re right. God, I hope you’re right.

No, no, no, no, Bray. Don’t you go there.

I don’t get it. The Salem Inn? It’s expensive. It’s not exactly homey. I mean, why would you stay there when you could just Move back in with me. You really don’t get it. Okay. Um, for starters, you’re dating Kristen DeMera. If I move back in with you, I don’t know. She might put out a hit on me. Teresa, please.

We’ve been on like two dates together. Okay. Uh, you’re also a gazillionaire. It’s not like you need a roommate. So you think I’m going to charge you rent? Come on. I’m just trying to lend. to a friend in need. But if you don’t want to take me up on my offer, I don’t. Well, now, hold on. I didn’t say that I didn’t want to move in.

I just, I don’t want things to blow up the way that they did. I obviously don’t want that either. So I will promise to be a perfect gentleman. But that is about the only thing I can promise. Take it or leave it. Fine, I’ll take it. Oh, great. Let’s go. You shouldn’t

be here. It’s okay, it’s okay, I wouldn’t tell your mom. Why didn’t you answer any of my texts? My mother confiscated my phone. Polly? Hey, gotta go. Okay. Okay. But I’ll see you soon.

What is it now?

I don’t wanna go to bed angry.

You know when you were a baby, like you said, it was you and me against the world. And when we were in Italy, I would watch her every breath. And I would wonder what you were thinking cause you couldn’t talk to me yet. But this, this just brought me back to that time in our lives. When I fought to be your mother.

I will always fight for you, honey. I love you so much and I, I just couldn’t bear to lose you. I just wanted you to know.

Days of Our Lives Update

Days of Our Lives logo

Update written by Joseph

Harris and Ava go to the Bistro and find it left exactly as it was when it was shut down with dishes on the table. Ava recalls sitting there with Wendy and Tripp when Stefan just strolled in after shooting Harris. Harris is thankful that Ava found him and declares that he’s alive because of her.

Tripp and Wendy sit together at home. Tripp asks if she’s okay. Wendy talks about making sure the door is locked. Tripp assures that Ava had a state of the art security system installed. Wendy apologizes for being paranoid. Tripp understands and calls her the bravest person he knows. Tripp adds that it’s not like it’s easy to just move past what they have been through, but assures that they both will. Tripp tells Wendy that he’s always there for her as he hugs her.

Stephanie goes to the Brady Pub and sees Everett seated alone. Stephanie greets him, so he invites her to sit. Stephanie asks how he is. Everett responds that he had his first hypnosis session today. Stephanie asks how it went. Everett calls it intense and reveals that he saw something that scared the hell out of him. Stephanie asks what him to tell her what he saw. Everett responds that he saw himself.

Jada joins Rafe in his office at the police station and asks if he’s ready to call it a night. Rafe says he can be convinced. Jada asks if he wants to go to her place or his. Rafe suggests going to the Brady Pub first as he’s craving chowder and a burger. Jada agrees. Rafe then gets a phone call and says he has to take this, so he’ll meet Jada there. Jada exits. Rafe then answers the call and asks if they found anything.

Sarah goes home to Xander, who excitedly shows her surveillance footage of Harris being shot. Xander explains that he compared the photo to a pair of fancy designer pants that cost a fortune while his pants are like $40 generic jogging pants. Xander points out that the designer pants have stripes thicker than his. Sarah asks how he can be sure since the police have his pants. Xander reveals that he has two more types of the same pair since they were on sale. Xander declares that he finally has proof that he’s innocent.

Tripp understands Wendy being anxious and scared after what they’ve been through. Wendy admits she’s hardly been sleeping at all and having a recurring nightmare when she does. Wendy notes that she heard Tripp shouting in his sleep too about being unable to breathe. Tripp thinks they need to rewire their brains with happier thoughts. Wendy asks how to do that. Tripp suggests a fun little date night and says that he has an idea.

Harris and Ava clean up the Bistro. Ava says she will cook dinner and suggests he turn on music and pour their drinks. Harris says he will keep her company and watch her cook.

Stephanie questions Everett saying he saw himself. Everett says he doesn’t know what it means as he flashes back to his vision of himself during hypnosis. Everett explains that he saw himself smiling but different. Everett says it’s like he saw a version of himself. Stephanie asks what Marlena said about it, but Everett reveals that he didn’t tell her.

Xander shows Sarah his pants compared to the photo. Sarah agrees that they are definitely not the same and calls Xander brilliant as no one else would’ve noticed that. They kiss and Sarah suggests they go see the police.

Rafe asks on the phone if they are sure and says he never knew what he would find. Rafe tells them to send him all the scans and thanks him as he hangs up. Rafe declares that this is going to get ugly. Sarah and Xander arrive. Xander tells Rafe that he has something that he needs to see. Rafe says it’s not a good time. Xander tells him it can’t wait and promises it won’t take long.

Stephanie questions why Everett didn’t tell Marlena what he saw so she could help him figure it out. Everett says he doesn’t know why and he just wanted to get out of there and go somewhere familiar for a drink. Jada then arrives and remarks that Stephanie and Everett are picking up right where they left off.

Ava and Harris sit down for dinner together at the Bistro.

Tripp tells Wendy that his brilliant plan is for them to play Jenga and talks about ordering them food, but notes her being distracted. Wendy reminds Tripp of something he told her in the hospital and reveals that she looked up that low oxygen levels could impair judgment. Wendy wonders if that’s why he proposed to her and she said yes. Wendy questions if that’s the reason they got married. Tripp assures it wasn’t the carbon dioxide and that they were saying things that they were already feeling but had been too afraid to say otherwise. Wendy supposes he’s right. Tripp tells her that he does not regret or take back anything he said. Tripp asks if she does. Wendy says no. Tripp brings up how Wendy talked about seeing marriage in her future. Tripp admits he wanted to make that happen for her when it seemed like their time was running out, but he wants that for himself too. Tripp states that while they were locked up, he realized more than ever how much he loves her. Wendy says she loves him too but feels like they skipped over a few crucial steps to jump in to wedding vows which is easy to do when you think death is just a few minutes away.

Ava and Harris have wine from the most expensive bottle in the Bistro. They toast to surviving. Ava says that when Harris was in the hospital and she didn’t think he was going to make it, she was beside herself because she thought she was going to lose the strongest, kindest, and most loyal person she has ever known. Ava declares that being loved by Harris makes her think that maybe she is okay if he wants to be with her. Harris calls Ava everything he wants and needs.

Xander and Sarah present Xander’s pants to Rafe. Sarah explains that the stripe in the photo is thicker than the stripe on Xander’s pants. Xander talks about the difference in price of the pants. Sarah points out that whoever setup Xander clearly could afford designer jogging pants. Xander adds that they also could put $40,000 in his bank account. Sarah argues that this proves Xander is innocent.

Stephanie doesn’t understand why Jada has to give them a hard time. Jada says she just made a simple observation that they are picking up where they left off. Stephanie gets that she’s angry but says they are trying to figure this out. Jada remarks that they have a whole lot to figure out. Stephanie informs Jada that Everett just came from therapy with Marlena. Jada calls that big of him. Stephanie explains that Marlena hypnotized Everett to try to access the things he can’t remember. Jada asks what Everett remembered. Stephanie tells him that he doesn’t have to answer if he’s not ready. Jada thinks she has a right to know since her life was greatly affected by the things he can’t remember. Everett agrees and says it’s pretty weird and won’t make sense to her, but he saw himself smiling which Jada laughs off. Stephanie suggests they should just go but Everett says it’s okay as Jada’s anger towards him is totally justified and he understands her skepticism about everything he says. Everett tells Jada that it may ring hollow but everything he has said to her since Valentine’s Day has been the truth. Jada agrees that it rings hollow as he’s claiming to not remember her or being married to her. Jada asks how he would expect her to react to that. Everett says he’d expect her to be as upset and confused as he is. Everett says for him, not being able to remember being married to her is not just confusing, but agony. Stephanie suggests Jada try to have a little compassion and support Everett instead of condemning him. Jada tells Stephanie that she can do that, but she’ll pass. Jada declares that she’s just glad she doesn’t have to deal with Bobby Stein anymore and that he’s all Stephanie’s.

Rafe admits he can tell the difference in the pants and tells Xander that this could be good news for him. Xander asks how it couldn’t be and what’s next. Rafe responds that they will get on it in the morning and tells them good job. Sarah credits Xander for making this happen. Xander says he was highly motivated by fighting for his life and family as he hugs Sarah.

Wendy asks Tripp about Allie Horton being his first love. Tripp calls Allie his first serious relationship. Wendy asks if there was anyone else before Allie. Tripp says he just had a crush on a girl in high school and asks Wendy who her first love was. Wendy says there was a guy named Cameron in her freshman year of college. Wendy says they dated for awhile, but then he found someone else and broke it off, so she was totally crushed at the time. Wendy decides that all of those past relationships led them to each other in this moment. Tripp says he’s so grateful for that. They agree to forget about the whole marriage proposal and go back to all the steps they missed. Tripp then asks her out on a date, right here and right now.

Harris and Ava finish dinner. Harris tells her that it might have been the best meal he’s ever had. Ava points out that they haven’t even had dessert. Harris jokes that he has a lot of ideas about dessert, but first suggests a dance. Harris reminds her that their first dance was at the Bistro, so they get up and dance together.

Xander and Sarah go home. Xander exclaims that they finally have proof. Sarah is proud of him for being determined to find it. Xander talks about Sarah believing in him all along and never doubting him. They say I love you to each other and kiss.

Stephanie tells Everett that she’s sorry about the way Jada went after him. Everett understands why Jada is angry. Stephanie questions Jada constantly being on the attack and wonders if Marlena could talk to Jada to get her to understand. Everett says he doesn’t even understand what’s going on with him, so he thinks the best thing for he and Jada is for him to stay away from her. Rafe joins Jada at the bar. Jada tells Rafe that she was thinking definitely his place tonight and suggests they get out of here right away but Rafe stops her and says he has some news that can’t wait.

Ava tells Harris that she wishes they could stay like this forever, but they do have to make a living. Ava says at least Harris has to be a detective. Harris points out that Ava is going to run the Bistro and asks when she’s going to reopen, but Ava responds that she’s not and declares that she’s done with the Bistro.

Tripp pours beer and toasts to Wendy’s sign language helping them get rescued. Wendy stops and says she can’t do the smell of beer after they were locked in the beer tank. Tripp understands that Joey thought it was funny to give them beer as a gift but it obviously triggered her very badly. Wendy says she’s been trying hard to stop the images in her head but she keeps seeing them in the beer tank and Goldman. Wendy says she remembers the feeling of not being able to breathe and starts to panic. Tripp encourages that she’s not in danger anymore but Wendy breaks down crying that she can’t keep pretending that nothing’s wrong.

Sarah puts Victoria to sleep. She and Xander talk about how Victoria reminds them of each other. Xander calls it amazing that they made a new life. Sarah says she’s so grateful that they did and that Victoria brought them back together. Xander says he’s so grateful for Sarah as they kiss.

Harris questions Ava not reopening the Bistro. Ava points out that the Bistro almost destroyed her life and almost killed Harris and Tripp. Harris says he understands but questions what else she’s going to do. Ava says she’ll figure it out and find another legit job. Ava tells Harris that she’s serious about never going back to that life.

Wendy apologizes to Tripp and says she will clean up. Tripp tells her to just talk to him. Wendy says it’s not right for her to act like she’s the only one who suffered through this when he was there too. Tripp tells her that she has nothing to be sorry for and he’s glad she let it out because he doesn’t want her bottling her feelings up. Tripp states that what they went through was terrifying and traumatic. Tripp says if he sounded like they could just move on, that’s not what he meant as he knows that’s not possible and he just thought a distraction might do good. Tripp says he’s the one who is sorry.

Everett tells Stephanie that there’s something he needs to tell her that she might not want to hear but it’s something he really needs to say.

Jada asks Rafe what news she has to hear right now. Rafe reveals that he got a call from an old friend of his that he used to work with. Rafe says he asked him to do some digging and he’s not exactly sure how to tell her this.

Everett tells Stephanie that he doesn’t know what’s going on with her but he knows that he loves her and believes they can get through this and that there is hope for them. Everett knows that’s a lot to take in but his feelings for her have not changed. Everett repeats that he loves her and that she’s everything to him.

Jada tells Rafe that he’s scaring her and asks him to just say what’s going on. Rafe reveals to Jada that her divorce papers were never properly filed, so she’s still legally married to Robert Stein.
