THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

Uh, I’m sorry, Amir. This must be an oversight.

Two, two months in a row?

Yeah, things have been a little hectic, you know, having a new baby and all.

Okay, hey, listen, my wife, she’s, she’s gonna be home any minute, and um, we’ll just get this cleared up and get it to you today, okay? Okay, thanks.

They must have forgotten all about paying the rent.

Hey, don’t you worry about it, little guy. Mommy’s got a lot on her mind.

I mean, look at your face. Mommy just takes one look at you and all the things on her mind go right out the window. But don’t you worry, we’ll get this all squared away. Hey, sorry I’m late. I was knee deep in research about your case. And? Did you find a way to get me out of this nightmare marriage? Before we get started, do you mind if we just take care of my retainer fee first?

Oh, sure. Sorry, I completely slipped my mind.

There. Sent. Okay, thank you. So, did you find anything? Anything that’ll help push through this divorce? Like a loophole or something? Unfortunately, it’s just the opposite. The law is in favor of Bobby’s case. Well, when a party suffers from a mental illness like a brain injury or some other mentally debilitating condition, the law states that they lack the cognitive ability to enter into a contract.

I mean even If they do sign a contract in that condition, it’s avoidable.

The article on Stefan’s arrest is gaining a lot of traction. I even posted it to four different social media platforms to get even more traffic. Who’d have thunk it? I knew Stefan DiMera had a dark side, but drug dealer was not on my bingo card. I know, right? I wonder how Chadwick is dealing with the news that his brother from another mother is a pill pushing lowbrow headed to the Who’s Go.

Come on, Leo. What? I just hope after our readers have done rubbernecking at Stefan’s story, they detour over to my Lady Whistleblower column. It may be my last. Hey, things will look up, Leo, okay? They always do. Yeah. Hey, I gotta go check on another account, so I’ll see you later. Okay, see ya. Hey, where have you been?

I feel like I’m walking on a cloud. With two girls, almost like a free man. You are never going to be locked up again. Ever. God, I love your optimism. And you’re undying support. And you will always have been.

D. A. DiMera. Fancy meeting you here. Likewise. Actually, I have some news about your case, and you might as well hear it from me.

Dammit, E. J., stop ignoring me. Have you seen the price of DiMera stock? It’s plummeting by the second. Now you say that you care about this company. Well, prove it. Call me back, now. Before we lose our family fortune. Ugh. Oh, could this take it any worse? What the hell is wrong with you?

Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives. You

okay? I’m good. Really? Because you, you look kind of razzled. Yeah, well, uh, it’s nothing I want to get into right now. How is the article on Stefan doing? Great. Take a look. Oh. That’s good news, at least. Hey, Everett. Lightbulb moment. I was thinking I could do a follow up human interest story about a family who was immediately impacted by the drugs that Stefan was trafficking through the bistro.

You know what, Leo? Until I, um, say it, why don’t you stay in your lane? Ah! Snark you much? Sorry, Leo. Well, since you are clearly singing the blues today, I will steer clear. Tell me what’s wrong, Everett, please. Not now. I’m trying to work, you know?

Are you as stubborn as you are psychotic? Sign the divorce papers, damn it!

As much as I believe. You belong behind bars and, uh, Anne, make no mistake, I would have relished putting you there. Our forensic team has examined the images of the perpetrator and have confirmed that you did not shoot Detective Michaels. They saw the difference in the tracksuit pants, right? There was a slight difference, but a difference nonetheless.

I’ve just come from my office where I have officially dropped the charges against you. Congratulations. Oh my god. Did that just happen? You made it happen. You did. You were determined and tenacious and you found proof. And I am so, I’m so proud of you. I couldn’t have done it without you. Did you hear that, little angel?

Your daddy’s a free man. We’re gonna celebrate. Look, I know that my freedom is the big news here, but uh, I’d just like to point out that I, Xander Cook was just congratulated by that frig E. J. Zemera.

You actually told Holly that she’s a bad influence on Rachel? Yep, I did. Oh, the audacity. I mean, what are you, picking on a teenage girl that almost died? She’s upstairs in her room crying right now. Oh, boo hoo, poor Holly. She’s such a drama queen. Drama queen? Yes. That is rich coming from you. Oh God, let’s face it, Nicole.

No mother wants her child hanging out with a drug addict. She’s not a drug addict. Okay, well, how would you know? You had no idea she was doing drugs before? Well, she’s a teenager, Kristen. Okay, she made a mistake. Okay, she made a mistake, yeah. And instead of taking responsibility for it, she covered it up and lied about it.

Blamed Rachel’s big brother, Tate, for it all. And, and now he has no freedom. He got beaten up in prison. Okay, well, she was unconscious when all that happened, okay? Spare me the fine print. Your daughter was doing drugs behind your back. And when I called her on it, a little brat went tattling to mommy. I have every right to keep my daughter away from that little liar.

Okay, you just stop yourself right now. Look, if you want to go after someone, you come after me, alright? Alright. You wanna fight? You wanna fight? No, I do. Okay, let’s do it. Come on. Let’s go.

Very impressed to find out that you have a 30, 000 limit. My God, you can’t keep doing this. It’s costing me a fortune as it is just to put you up with this sailor man. Oh, my suite by the way, major upgrade from that dingy little room I used to share with Gweny. Lovely view, very comfy king size bed. Oh my God, when is it going to end?

Honey, it ends whenever you’re ready to give up your baby. To give that precious little boy back to his real mother. Hey. Hey. I thought I heard you. How was your day? Exhausting. Yeah, well, I, uh, just got you down. And I thought maybe you and I could talk. Oh, sounds serious. It is. It’s um, it’s about our finances.

I came home from our breakfast and I found this under our door.

Would you please? Just sign the damn divorce papers. You two are still married? Jada and Everett. Hashtag Jefferet. Married. Juicy. Apparently, the divorce decree was never officially finalized. Yeah, because Bobby never signed the papers and he won’t do it now. Wait, who is Bobby? He is. Jada and Bobby? Hashtag jobby.

To make you feel powerful, Kristen, punching down. Punching down? Yeah. All I did was tell your daughter to stay away from mine. That is it. Well, from now on, if you have anything to say to Holly or about Holly, you come to me first. You got it? Oh, yeah. Well, I think I pretty much covered it. Oh, you have? Oh, and hey, guess what?

God, it can’t be easy having a druggie for a daughter. Especially one who pretends she’s Snow White singing to animated birds while everyone kisses her feet. The facade is crumbling, honey. Lo and behold, Holly is just as selfish and manipulative as her mother. Oh. Oh, we’re going there, are we? Yeah, we will go there.

Yeah. Comparing daughters to mothers? It’s a very dangerous place for you to be, Kristen. I feel really, really bad for Rachel. Because she has an evil serpent for a mother. Stinking her fangs into innocent people. Spreading her poison all over town. And you know what it looks to me? Huh? That Rachel is bound to be a bad seed.

Just like her mummy. Wow.

I feel terrible. I, I must have just slipped my mind. I figured. You know, I’ve never even been late on rent before, so this Actually, you were late last month too. But I know you’ve had a million things on your mind. Yeah, I really have. But it’s not just that, it’s, you know, the, the expenses are increasing.

It’s the formula, the diapers. No, electricity and gas. But look, I promise you, I’m going to be more on top of it. Look, right now, I am going to send the landlord the rent. And with my caseloads increasing, this shouldn’t be a problem. And at some point, my business will pick up. Yes. You know what? But this is what we should do.

We should make a plan. A family budget. Great. I can do that. I can make a, a spreadsheet at work tomorrow. No, no, no. Actually, you know what? We can, uh, kind of do this together, you know? Like, uh, look. It’s not that hard. We can kind of, uh, put a list of all our family expenses together. Right? So, uh, Here, I’ll give you that.

Oh, you know what? It’s okay. I’ll take care of it. Just hold that thought. You

said you would sign the papers. Yes. As myself. You are yourself. Listen, just, just sign Robert Stein. Okay? So we can just get this over with. You don’t want to be married to me. And I don’t want to be married to you. It’s just a signature. No one will even know or care.

I’m sorry. I can’t. I can’t. I can’t sign those. Not the way that you want me to. Oh my god. Uh, I’m sorry, just so that I’m clear. Everett is Bobby. Bobby is Everett. And wait, you two were an item when you were in Seattle. Did you know him as Bobby? Don’t go there, Leo. How can I not go there? Lady Whistleblower has been starving for scoop, and now here comes a triple fudge sundae served up with sprinkles.

Leo! Huh? Just don’t go there, okay? Just So what’s it gonna be, Bobby? I mean really, how long are you going to be torturing me with this?

This may be the best cheeseburger I’ve ever eaten in my entire life. And that’s because everything tastes better with a side of freedom. So true. Incredible. Although, what’s with your obsession with cheese? It’s like you’re a little mouse who can’t get enough. You’re only saying that because I asked you to bring me string cheese in bed one time.

Once. More like you woke me up and demanded that I bring you string cheese at midnight three different times. Well, I was breastfeeding Victoria. I couldn’t exactly get up and go get cheese. And nobody’s waking up tonight. We’re gonna sleep like babies now that this whole nightmare is over. Actually, it’s not completely over.

You keep my daughter out of this. Unlike Holly, Rachel is not a screw up. You know, her only mistake is that she looked up to someone who is unworthy of her admiration. Unworthy of her admiration? What are you talking about? Holly has been nothing but kind and loving to Rachel, and Rachel is nothing but an entitled little brat.

Rachel is not a brat. Yes, she is, and she needs to come with a warning label, just like her mother. Felony after felony. Okay, you know what? I do. Let’s do it. You kidnapped Daniel, you blackmailed Sammy, you stole Teresa and Brady’s fetus and inserted it in yourself. That’s crazy, that’s disgusting, yes it is.

You know who I left the baby stealing from? You, Nicole, you. Yes, you stole EJ and Sammy’s baby, you lied to Daniel about how your baby died, and you blamed it all on Jennifer. And you broke their relationship up. Yeah, but you wanna know the difference between you and me? What? I actually regret it. Oh, ho, ho, ho.

I am trying to turn my life around. Oh, well, keep on turning, sweetheart, and maybe you’ll spin your way all the way down to hell where you belong. Oh, my God. You know, I haven’t told you the worst part about you. Oh, goody. What you did to Eric. Okay, I can’t wait to hear this. Oh, I bet. You drugged him. And you had sex with him, and there’s a word for that, and I can’t even say it because you totally disgust me.

Oh, and then you go parading around town wearing a mask, impersonating me so you could seduce Brady. Bad news for you. The only reason Rachel exists is because Brady had sex with you, thinking it was me. Okay, don’t you do this to me! Stop it! Stop it! Both of you! Stop it! Stop it! You’re such a liar! You’re a liar!

Stop it! Both of you! Stop it! What is going on here? Stop it!

I’m guessing he just needed a diaper change. All sparkly clean now. It’s been a big time with me. Here’s the spreadsheet so far. Here, take a look. Okay, rand electric, gas, food, personal stuff, hair, manicure, clothes. Yeah. That look about right? Yeah, looks, looks all good. Yeah, but what’s missing? I can’t really think of anything off the top of my head.

Well, something’s not adding up right. Okay. Oh, uh oh. I’m guessing he’s getting hungry. I’m gonna go feed him.

This isn’t personal, Jada. We are still married. I take that very personally. Just, what’s the big deal? Okay, just sign it Robert Stein. It’s just a technicality. No one will even care. You can move on with your life and I can move on with mine, okay? Well, wouldn’t that be forgery detective signing somebody else’s name?

No, because he is Robert Stein, legally. Are you? Leo, shut up and just stay out of this. I’m sorry, I I can’t sign it. Not right now. Damn you. Jada, wait.

What do you mean it’s not over yet? Night after night, in that jail cell, I kept trying to figure it out. I mean, I knew I hadn’t shot Harris. But the evidence just kept stacking up against me, as well you know. Well, when you got arrested, you thought that somebody had framed you. Right, and I still do, now more than ever.

I mean, whoever set me up, they did a bang up job, didn’t they? Only question is, Why me?

Stop. Stop. Is this the example you both want to set for your daughters? My God. What if I hadn’t walked in when I did? And honestly, Kristin, a grown woman attacking a teenage girl. Thank you for standing up for Holly. Oh, please. Did you hear what your precious wife was saying about your niece? It was obscene.

There’s a big difference here, Kristen. She said those things to you, whereas you fired your missiles right at Holly’s face. Are you kidding me? You kidding me? So she gets a pass because she didn’t tear Rachel to shreds behind her back? Nicole is my wife. And you will show her some damn respect. She’s a scheming gold digger.

And always has been. And you’re not a homicidal maniac! Enough! Enough! Kristen, let me make this very clear. If you are unable to get along with my wife, you will find another place to live.

Ten whole ounces. You wolf that down. Hopefully that can last him out for a little while. Good. Can you sit down and go through this with me now? Um, yeah, of course I can. Definitely. But I just noticed that Jude’s completely out of diapers. So I’m gonna run and go get some. Are you sure? Because I thought we had another package.

Nope. All out. I’m going to be right back. And, grab some diapers. Love you. Damn, where can all my money be going?

I don’t even have a horse in this race, and I am breathless. I can only imagine what this is doing to you. This whole thing

is a nightmare. It’s a nightmare, with Stephanie, right in the middle of it. Poor thing. The two of you, flittering around town like a pair of lovebirds, then all of a sudden, wham! You careen into a glass window, feathers everywhere, no one saw it coming. Except, I’m not the victim. No matter how you try to spin this, I am the bad guy in this situation.

I mean, Jada thinks I’m a two timing bastard, Stephanie is debating whether I’m a two timing bastard, or a nutjob, I mean, either way. She’s lost trust in me. I hate this. I hate myself. Everett Everett. Come on, man. If you don’t remember you don’t remember stopping so hard on yourself. Look, you are a good guy.

Who’s going through an identity crisis. Hey, sometimes I feel like I need a lobotomy, and I am just one person with one name and one set of rotten memories. I can only imagine what it would be like to be two people with two sets of rotten memories.

Appreciate the support, Leo.

We all need somebody to listen to our side of the story, right?

Speaking of stories, I mean this really delicious one just fell into my lap and if Lady Whistleblower could write about it, I, well I promise, I promise I will be, I will be very, very gentle with the story and respectful and Are you out of your mind? What? Are you out of your mind? No. Drop it, Leo. I am. I’m sorry.

Okay, but we Okay, but Okay, I’m gonna get out of here so you can clear your heads. I’m sorry. Bobrit, I want you to know I am here for you. But I have to say, I do agree with Jada. You are not going to be able to move forward until you put this behind you. Get it figured out. Otherwise, you’re never going to get Stephanie back.

And it is obvious you are head over heels in love with her. Heartbroken. I have feathers everywhere.

I know the feeling.

Thank you for filling me in on the divorce snafu. Trusting me enough to open up about it. Yeah, well, I know this can’t be easy for you either. I mean my goodness, it’s just, when you thought that things couldn’t get more jaw dropping, you find out that the guy you’re involved with is still married. To me.

Yeah. Yeah, it’s been pretty shocking.

Hey. Listen. I’m really sorry that I bit your head off. More than once. I realize that I’ve been really just taking all my anger out on you. Well, I can’t imagine. What you went through when your marriage ended and what you’re going through now. Yeah, but still, it’s, it’s no excuse, Stephanie. You are a victim here too.

So what do you say? Do you think maybe you can forgive me for the awful things that I said? The thing is, someone went to a lot of trouble to set me up, right? And they did it oh so cleverly. Starting with that phone call. Hello?

Xander Cook. Yeah, who’s this? I have a job for you. What kind of job? I have someone who must be eliminated.

And then, obviously, someone duplicated my jogging outfit. And Planted that gun in our apartment. And they put the money in your bank account. That’s an awfully big expense, right? Whoever it was, they, they wanted to take me down big time. Damn it, I just, there’s gotta be someone who knows me, someone with money.

Clyde? It’s possible. I mean, obviously there’s no love lost between him and me. And he had motive for offing Harris, yeah. He could’ve financed this, but, but why pin it on me? I mean, I haven’t had any contact with that bastard in years. It seems odd that he’d go to such lengths to Set me up.

The Spectator article said that Stefan was doing Clyde’s bidding through the Bistro. So maybe Stefan hired the hitman. Maybe he knows something. I’m gonna visit the jail. See if I can get in to see Stefan. You sure that’s a good idea?

Who do you think you are? You don’t own this house. And I’ve been a mayor longer than you have.

Look, Kristen. Mm hmm. This is a big house. Why don’t we just agree to keep our kids away from each other? Alright? Fine. Good. That settles that. Now, I’m leaving. I need to head to DiMera. Show some leadership. The board has made it clear, Stefan is out as head of DiMera, and I need to take the reins. Can you do that?

Can you step back in and still be DA? I could. The board does need an interim CEO immediately. Someone with a family name. Ugh. I’m told he wants to travel the world with Anna, doesn’t want that kind of responsibility at this stage in his life. Chad’s never expressed interest and Johnny is just far too young and inexperienced.

Hello. There’s a DiMera standing right here. Oh, you’re serious? Oh, my darling sister. No, no, no. I don’t think so.

Why would it be a bad idea for me to see Stefan? Oops. Because you’re all free and clear now. I mean, don’t you think it’s a bad idea to go digging around? It’s like poking the bear. I think I have to. I mean, I have to figure out who did this to me, Sarah. No.

We have to. Because we’re in this together. Thank you. I mean some. And tomorrow I’ll see about getting into the jail to visit Stefan. As long as you promise me one thing. Anything. When this is all over, I want you to bring me cheese and bed as much as I want without complaining. Every. Single. Night.

Okay, I’m off. Can I trust the two of you to be here alone? Actually, why don’t I go with you? And you can drop me off at the town square. Because after all the fun I’ve had today, I could use some retail therapy, and then maybe we can have dinner out. Hmm. Perfect. I’ll meet you in the car. Actually, I’m gonna go check on Holly and let her know we’re heading out.

Sounds good. Okay. Bye. Goodbye to you too, little brother.

Yes, Mr. Shen. This is Kristen DiMera. I think you and I need to have a talk. I really let you have it. And like I said, it was all misguided anger, Stephanie. You’re not to blame for any of this. And I believe you when you said that you had no idea that Bobby was married. So I really hope that you’ll forgive me.

If not now, someday, when you’re ready. I’m not gonna lie, those things you said, it really hurt. I know you were coming from a place of pain. You weren’t trying to hurt me. I forgive you. Of course. I know you were only trying to protect yourself. We just process things differently. Yeah. You’re the calm and rational one, and I blow my top.

Total hothead. Oh, believe me, I’ve, I’ve had my moments. Not that I would know. I’ve been, I’ve been so wrapped up in my own world and all the things happening that’s messing it up that I didn’t even take time to think about how this was affecting you.

Yeah, it’s been rough.

I’m sure. So, tell me the truth. Aren’t you furious with him? Yes, I am.

Half the time. The other half I keep thinking about what he must be going through. So you believe his story? I don’t know. But I do feel for him. You know, losing chunks of your life, your identity, it must be terrifying. And he has nobody. Except you.

You still have feelings for him, don’t you?

If only it were so black and white.

There’s no escaping you. Is there, Robert Stein?

Voicemail.

Doctor Evans. This is Everett Lynch. I need to see you.

Uh, is this really that urgent? I was about to get a pedicure when you beckoned. Oh, you had a pedicure just last week. I know, I paid for it. Yes, but if I wait too long, my feet get hard and crusty, and I need them to be soft and smooth like a baby’s bottom. My baby comes first, pal. Look, just cut me a little break, okay?

June needs diapers, wipes, food. You should probably be on a budget. I can’t. Eric wants to, but I can’t keep hiding your crazy self indulgent expenses. Meanwhile, I have drained my bank account paying rent, which was late for the second time. Look, you’re working now. You’re doing legit reporting. I saw that piece on Mayor Price.

What did you think? It was good, actually. Wow, did you just not insult me? I’m shocked. I did just not insult you. You’re actually, you’re a decent writer. And look, you’re paid by the article, right? And they’re giving you more assignments now, I’ve noticed. Well, those assignments cost money, too. See, I had to finagle my way into Mayor Price’s welcome home party by posing as a flower delivery person.

And you paid for the flowers? Well, no. Chad did. But at that faboo shindig, I managed to spill champagne all over my shoes. I ruined them. And girl, new Ferragamos do not come cheap. Come on, Leo. No, really, you are such a talented writer. And your features, I mean, they are just taking off. Lady Whistleblower is practically a household name now.

Come on, please, I’m just asking. I’m really talking to you, though. Please. Well, I do offer a unique perspective, and that does make my career outlook rosy.

And because of my fondness for your son, And because I want his diapers to be ultra absorbent so that his booty can be smooth and soft like my pedicured feet. I will cut your allowance by ten percent. I was thinking forty. Fifteen. Thirty five.

I’m feeling generous, but only because you complimented my writing. Why don’t we meet in the middle and say twenty five percent? Steel. No. What? You have no idea what this means to me. Okay.

I don’t get this. Something is not right here. Sloane must have some big expenses she’s not sharing with me. I’m gonna get to the bottom of this.

Adam: “If there is a problem?” There is no “if” here, Chelsea. There is a problem. In case you haven’t noticed, we’re in genoa city, and our son is all alone in Baltimore. Probably scared to death and confused, surrounded by a bunch of strangers.

Chelsea: Stop, Adam. Stop it. Enough. We’re both very stressed. We’re both trying to process this. Don’t make me the enemy. I didn’t send him there to make him miserable. I hate this, too.

Adam: I’m sorry. Okay, you’re right. That was not helpful. When I get home, I’ll go online, and I will set up Connor’s petty cash fund.

Chelsea: Thank you. I appreciate it. Maybe he’ll find something in their commissary he likes to eat. Or isn’t afraid to eat.

Adam: And don’t forget to send his lucky jersey, number 7, in case he wants to play again.

Chelsea: Yeah. That was nice of them to let us tour the sports facilities.

*************************************

Sally: How can they blame you and Chelsea for Connor’s OCD and diagnose that so quickly?

Adam: Well, they didn’t declare it an official diagnosis. But, I mean, even if they had, who cares? I don’t believe a word that comes out of their mouths.

Billy: Did the therapist explain why they think that you might be a possible trigger for Connor?

Chelsea: Because that’s what Connor told them. Apparently, my psychotic breakdown caused him all of this trauma and all of this guilt, and his OCD, um, has convinced him that my suicide attempt was his fault.

Adam: Somehow the doctors, after spending a minute and a half with Connor, by the way, have determined that he sees himself as a bad son, and he blames himself for all of his parents’ problems

Billy: That’s very astute of you. And I agree. Adam is the biggest hurdle in all of this.

Chance: Hey, I get it. You know, once upon a time, we were close, so I know firsthand how he can be.

Billy: That’s what I’m concerned about. In my opinion, he’s not handling this very well. But as a father, I will say I sympathize. It’s not an easy situation. But I care about chelsea. And if he could rein it in, even just a little bit, I think it’d be more helpful for everyone.

Chance: Yeah, it doesn’t sound like something he can pull off.

Billy: Yeah. I wish I could go back east and be with Chelsea, make sure that she feels she’s got the support that she needs, but the truth is, that is only gonna complicate matters worse, and, of course, defeat the purpose

Audra: You know, you say it feels right to you. But I’m just not there.

Tucker: Fair enough.

[ Tucker laughs ] Maybe I’ll just… propose all over again tomorrow. I should have gotten one of those skywriting planes. “Marry me, Audra, heart, tucker.”

Audra: That’s not necessary.

Tucker: I don’t suppose because you just suddenly changed your mind.

Audra: I just can’t. Are you sure you’re not trying to prove something to Ashley or Devon, or perhaps the rest of the world? Or are you maybe just out to prove something to yourself?

Lily: Hi, Tucker.

Tucker: I assume this means your daughter is doing better?

Lily: Sorry, how do you know about Mattie’s situation?

Tucker: Small town.

Lily: Oh. Okay, well, I’m sure Devon didn’t tell you, since he doesn’t really want anything to do with you. Unless that’s changed.

Tucker: No, no. Sadly, it has not.

Lily: Okay, well then, I guess we don’t have much to say to each other.

Billy: Oh. Hey. Slow down. Bartender’s not going anywhere.

Phyllis: Just, it’s been a day.

Billy: Yeah?

Phyllis: Yeah.

Billy: I’ve had a few of those myself lately. What do you say? You want to belly up and commiserate?

Phyllis: Oh, not tonight.

Billy: Really? Old friends? Solve the world’s problems?

Phyllis: Wouldn’t that be something?

Billy: Yeah. Come on, I’m buying.

Phyllis: Maybe another time.

Billy: Just be careful, okay? Because I see you gearing up for a heck of a headache tomorrow morning, so let me do this. Let me get one of your famous hangover concoctions. I’ll get it sent up to your room. At least it’ll be there bright and early, just in case you need it. Hm? No?

Billy: No, I’m not an idiot. No, I get it. I know you don’t want me here, but I was just thinking maybe our snarky little back and forth could pull you out of your funk.

Phyllis: Who says I’m in a funk?

Billy: Your face does.

Phyllis: What about your funk?

Billy: Mine?

Phyllis: Yeah. Last time I talked to you, you were locked in some power struggle with the winters family. You know? That can’t be fun.

Billy: Look at us, huh? We’re having a conversation now.

Phyllis: Yeah, I mean, you are outnumbered by them. You really are. Just you against the winters family. You’re just trying to get a little credit, right? Trying to get some respect and some love. Not having any success at any turn. And then, you’re labeled difficult. Yeah. Difficult. And that’s how people see you from there on out, just difficult.

Billy: Oh, I get it. We’re not talking about me anymore, are we?

Victor: I just can’t believe this. Have a seat, son. What brings you by? Anything at Newman I need to address?

Adam: No, it’s– it’s nothing like that. Um, I just wanted to let you know that I’m heading to the east coast tonight with Chelsea and Connor. But don’t worry, my work will get taken care of.

Victor: Kind of short notice, isn’t it?

Adam: It’s Connor.

Victor: What’s going on with our boy?

Adam: Connor has OCD and we’re doing everything we can to get him through it

********************************************

Victor: Obsessive-compulsive disorder. I’ve heard that term pertaining to adults, but rarely to children.

Adam: I didn’t know that either.

Victor: Ah.

Adam: You know, when Connor first started having issues at school, we thought it was a learning difference, an academic issue. But then we found a doctor who made the diagnosis.

Victor: So, what’s the cure?

Adam: There is no cure. But there are tools that he can learn to manage the diagnosis. He needs something called exposure and response prevention therapy, erp. Chelsea found the best residential program in the country, and we’re lucky enough to get the last spot. So, that’s why we have to leave immediately.

Victor: Take my jet. I mean, I’ll make the arrangements.

Adam: Well, nick already made the offer. So, it’s nice to know that we have your blessing, too.

Victor: My boy, just know that whatever you and chelsea and connor need, you just come to me, all right?

Adam: That means more than you know.

Victor: Yeah, well, I know what it is like to have a child that suffers. And there’s nothing you can do about it.

Adam: You know, we have to do this. It is the right move to make, but I don’t want to let him out of my sight. Connor says that he hates himself. What do I do with that? I mean, how do I– how do I help him?

Victor: That breaks my heart, you know? You just continue doing what you and Chelsea are planning to do. I mean, it’s the right move. Just trust yourself.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

geez. What did you just– you’ve been planning this, or something like this, all along. Do I need to refresh your memory? ‘Cause I wasn’t the one who started all this. Yeah, I know, I know, I know. It’s just, I think that you’ve had this on your mental back burner since you took my magazine away and gave it to carly. And we all know how that worked out. Oh, I mean, have I been thinking about you? Have I been fantasizing? The truth is I have. Yeah. I really have. About you losing all your money, about you losing your looks, and getting convicted of a nameless crime that gets you sent to prison. You remember, like you sent me. God, you look like you were mugged by a small army. Are you sure it was only two people? Yeah. Those guys might not have killed me, but this ice might. It’s not that cold. It’s ice. By definition, it’s cold. Yeah, well, the ice machine on this floor was broken, which is appalling. That’s what you find appalling, a broken ice machine? I had to go down a floor to get the ice, and it was melting by the time I got it to the towel. And yet, when placed against the human body, it’s still plenty cold. Does the fbi know that all it takes to get one of their agents to spill his guts is a couple of ice cubes? I like to keep some things to myself.

[ Chuckles ] Good idea. All I’m saying is that when I owned the metro court, that ice machine, it would have been maintained. What? Nothing. I’m just grateful for the medical expertise. Good. Well, I went to nursing school, though I didn’t graduate, but the training was really good. I mean, when you have kids, you get little reaction time, and then you have to keep it together till you get to an actual doctor. Speaking of which, please let me take you to the hospital. Or at least let me call the house doctor here. I am quite happy with the care I’ve received so far. I wouldn’t change a thing. Okay, I don’t want to jinx it, but I think ace finally fell asleep. I know. Told him a story. A little bit of singing, and maybe I’m just sort of starting to get the hang of his bedtime routine. Or maybe he’s just getting used to falling asleep without esme and spencer. Or maybe I’m just telling myself a story. Are you sure you’re okay with it? Yeah, but if you’re not into it, just change it. It’s just a movie. No, the movie is fine. I think. I wasn’t really paying attention. Okay, what is it? What’s going on? I keep thinking about the whole face-of-deception thing. Are you sure you’re okay with me being the face? Yeah. I mean, I already share your music with the world. Why not share your beautiful face, too?

[ Sighs ] Because my mom inserted a clause keeping my private life private in every contract. And if anyone pushes against that point, she made it very clear it’s a deal-breaker. Blaze is your public persona, and blaze is not out, but ali, my girlfriend, is. I’ll never get tired of hearing you call me your girlfriend. My girlfriend and i are out to our families, to our closest friends, and the people that really matter. We can be ourselves. That’s all I really care about. So if locking down your private life is the deal you made with your mom and everyone else, and as long as it doesn’t impact us in our relationship, I don’t see a problem with it. Right. Unless the person who has a problem with it is you. Ooh. Okay. Yep. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Mm. Jordan: Babe, where are you? Why don’t you come upstairs and find out? Oh, my god.

[ Chuckles ] “One small step for man.” Actually, it was a bunch of little steps.

[ Chuckles ] But one giant leap for yours truly. This is — this is huge. This is so great. And I don’t see your cane anywhere. No, no, no, no cane. Just me and my two legs.

[ Chuckles ] Yeah. You’re amazing. No, you’re amazing. If it weren’t for you, honey, I would still be stuck in some hospital bed or in my wheelchair still, you know, mad at the world, feeling sorry for myself. Some version of that is how my story would have ended. But because of you, I have nothing but new chapters to write, and I can’t wait. Oh, my god.

[ Both chuckle ] I can’t wait to write them with you. Thank you, my love. Mm. Mm. Anytime.

[ Both chuckle ] Ugh, god.

[ Sighs ] This is pointless. This warehouse is half mine. And you’re taking it back? I never gave it up. You deserted it, jason. You were gone for more than two years. You’ve lost the right to take it back.

I don’t want to see your face. Didn’t I say that to you? Are we not clear? That’s why I had diane speak to you on my behalf. I still own 50% of corinthos coffee. Don’t quote my own lawyer to me.

Our lawyer. We both trust her and what she says. Why not trust her judgment on this? Forget diane. You came to my warehouse to get an answer from me. You got your wish. This is my business. I don’t want you anywhere near it. I’m so proud of you.

[ Giggles ] And not because you made it up the stairs but because you didn’t give in to despair. And you didn’t quit. Well, truth be told, I thought about it. There were times I thought about it, and each time I thought, “what would I say to trina?” She got hit with something terrible when spencer died, so it’s okay for her to call it quits and just curl up in a ball?

[ Sighs ] It’s not me. No. No, it’s not. And those words sound like a foreign language coming out of your mouth. I love it. I’m a husband and a father now. I’m a son. It’s just not about me anymore. Well, you did forget one thing off of that list. What’s that? Father, mm, mm…. lover. Is that so? I would be a fool to let all that effort that you took getting up those stairs and into our beautiful bedroom go to waste, and I am no fool.

[ Groans ] Thanks for the ice. I think it helped. Or else the bitter cold destroyed all the nerve endings in my body. So win/win. Okay, you need to keep this on your head. And you need to go home to that adorable daughter of yours. She’s great. She’s happy with her nanny. I’m concerned that you have a concussion. I’m fine. Trust me, it’ll take more than a couple of shots to this hard head to do any real damage. I don’t know about that. If you do have a concussion, someone needs to check on you every couple hours. They need to see if you’re having a hard time waking up. And if you are, that means your concussion is getting worse. I’ll be fine. Please let me take you to the hospital. I mean, just think, if you’re right, you get to say, “I told you so.” Well, I do like that, but come on. We know all they’re going to do is admit me and then wake me up all night long. No, I’d rather stay here.

[ Grunts ] Okay. I can wake people up with the best of them.

[ Sighs ] What are you doing? I’m getting comfortable. I have to conserve my energy. I have to shake you awake in a couple hours, and then a couple hours after that. Carly, I really appreciate — you’re wasting your time. I’m staying right here, and I’m going to save you from yourself. Are you saying that you regret this as much as I do? Oh, come on, nina. Two people consumed by a passionate mutual hatred with no acceptable outlet? I mean, it’s better than poisoning. I don’t see a big difference. Think of it as like a screwed-up spontaneous combustion. I’m going to think of it this way — as a down payment. And what’s on layaway? Appoint me to the board. Of aurora? Mm-hmm. Wait. I’m sorry. What possible sense would it make for me to appoint you to the board of aurora? I mean, you edit crimson. That’s your entire value to us. And I make the magazine a success. Okay, maybe not that, but you are close to michael. You’re close to willow. Just find a pathway for me to get back in my daughter’s good graces. Nina, you think that 45 minutes on my office floor with you commits me to dragging you out of the wreckage that you’ve made of your life? Come on. Going to take more than a couple of rug burns for me to lift a finger for you.

I tried to treat michael and willow to a fabulous surprise anniversary dinner, and they turned me down, which was humiliating. A surprise dinner, huh? Translation — regardless of what michael and willow wanted, you pushed whatever you wanted on them, which is so on brand for you. I don’t care how you describe it, drew. I felt like I was punched in the heart. And forgive me if I had to come down here and — and pull myself together and get a breath. And instead of sympathizing with me, just — I don’t now. I didn’t then. I never will sympathize with you, nina. I know that I had a little part in all of this, but I think you took advantage of my emotional, vulnerable state. Aw, you’re projecting, nina. Taking advantage of people? That’s your stock and trade. Oh, shut up. Let me just be clear about one thing here. Your offer for an anniversary dinner when you can’t stand michael and you wish willow hadn’t married him, was that really just for willow, or were you hoping that maybe they would tell sonny about how generous you are? Does sonny know that you’re still pining for him?

[ Grunts ] I take that as a yes. What time is it? Um, almost midnight. That late? You should really go home. Okay, well, if you insist, then I’ll drop you off at G.H. On my way. That’s not necessary. Carly: It probably is, but you’d probably just be trading one problem for another, huh? What are you talking about? Well, if you went to the hospital, the nurses would start asking you questions, and they’d have to call the pcpd. And then the pcpd would want to know what the heck you were doing wandering around the waterfront at that time of night. I wasn’t wandering around. I took a walk. Oh, yeah. In the most dangerous part of town at night. Port charles is a safe place.

[ Laughs ] Okay, make sure you say the safe part when you talk to the police, because they love that kind of feedback. Carly, I got mugged. It’s a terrible thing, but it happens, and this time, it happened to me. You should stick with that story. But I want you to know that i know you were tracking jason. If you don’t want me in your organization, I understand. No, you don’t understand. ‘Cause I trusted you more than anyone, and now I can’t trust you. I never gave the feds anything on you. Why should i believe that? Because if I had, you would have been arrested two years ago. I’ve been protecting you this whole time, sonny. I’m not a child. I don’t need protection. I need you to get away from me. Otherwise, I will have to remove you.

I’m worried about how small ace’s family is going to be. There are no siblings, you know? He may never know lulu and — and lucky. And I know there’s elizabeth’s boys, but they’re quite a bit older, and they have their own lives. It’s really just you and me and ace. And heather. Yes, I know she likes to call herself ace’s grandmother. Well, technically, she is ace’s grandmother. We may not like it, but esme was her daughter. Yes, but she’s in pentonville. For now. Wasn’t she supposed to be transferred to a federal prison in california? I forgot to tell you. Um, the D.A.’S office canceled the transfer because of her medical condition. So she is in pentonville for the foreseeable future. Mm. Unless… something else occurs. “Chemically induced abnormal behavior.” This is really what you think happened to heather, isn’t it? My god. Do you think they would ever reopen heather’s case after all the things that she did?

[ Grunts ] If you breathe a word of this to sonny — having hate sex with you on my office floor isn’t something I’m going to be bragging about, okay? And I wouldn’t worry too much about sonny. He’s a little preoccupied right now with my brother’s surprise return. Well, he can think about more than one thing at a time. And somehow he isn’t thinking about you at all. You got to face it, nina. You’re not even on sonny’s radar right now. He doesn’t care who you’re mixing it up with. Maybe it’s because he’s got a new roommate. Sonny? Are you home?

[ Sighs ] What do you have that’ll help a person sleep? Oh. Come on, sonny. You have to do better than that.

[ Light switch clicks ] Alright, sonny, where do you keep the good stuff? “May cause drowsiness.” Doesn’t have to be this way. I’m not a threat. You keep your organization. I’m going to stay out of it. All I want is my half of the coffee business. And all I want is the truth. If you didn’t inform on me… what were you doing with the feds? Sonny, I told you everything that I could. You told me nothing, jason, and I thought it was because ava was right there, but ava’s not here now. It’s just you and me. If you want me to trust you, if you want half of the business back, you’re going to have to trust me, right? What happened to you?

The fbi picked me up on cassadine island. They flew me back to quantico. They offered me a deal — become an informant, and no charges will be filed. I took that deal because it was my best option. They didn’t want me to inform on you because they knew I never would do it, and that it would never work. So they sent me after somebody else. Who? Who’d they — I can’t — sonny, I can’t tell you. Why? Because you think I’m going to go tell these people that you’re a traitor? No, I can’t tell you because it’s part of the deal. If I talk, it violates the terms of the agreement, and the charges get filed. Was part of the deal, uh, to take a shot at me? How many times did you try to kill me, jason? I never tried to kill you, sonny. And I’m going to believe that? Because you’re loyal? Because you’re my friend? My brother? Because if I tried to kill you… …I wouldn’t have missed. Oh, ava. You cannot self-medicate with somebody else’s prescription, you know. It does cause drowsiness, though, and if sonny can handle it…

[ Sighs ] Oh, who am I kidding? I want to be fair. Having a control freak for a mom can be really helpful when it comes to my career. What about the rest of your life? Your — your real life? Ha. My mom says she knows me better than I know myself. Oh, god, I hate when parents say that. Me, too. But I think she says it because, when she was my age, she… you know, she crossed the line a few times. And then she became a mom. Well, becoming a mom certainly changes your perspective on everything. You know, and I’m only an aunt, so… you’re not “only” anything. I think because my mom didn’t want me making the same mistakes she did, she became super strict. Well, it kind of worked. I mean, look at you. You’re — you’re smart and disciplined, and you’ve built an incredible career for yourself. It’s amazing. A lot of that is because I paid attention to everything she said when I was growing up. She should be able to look at my life and know that. She should trust me enough to live my own life. I mean, your parents do. Okay, I must have missed something. Is there a problem with your parents? Is this the folder that you wanted, babe? Yeah, that’s it. Okay. Probably could have did it myself, but, uh, it would have been 2:00 in the morning before I made my way back down the stairs and back up, so thank you.

[ Chuckles ] Well, with the progress you’re making, you will be up and down those stairs in no time. The miracles of modern medicine. You know, you doctors can fix anything. Mm-hmm. Babe, is everything okay? Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, I’m fine. Okay. Thought I’d lost you there for a second. I wondered where you went. Thought maybe you were thinking about these bills. Oh, no, no, no. Those bills are all yours. Oh, I don’t know if you saw this note from brook lynn quartermaine. She’s pushing me to have an invitation-only event at the savoy to showcase blaze’s new single. I’m probably going to say yes, but I think I’ll make her sweat a little bit. Yeah, it has nothing to do with that. What is it, babe? Talk to me. I was at the hospital, and I overheard kevin and alexis saying something about how they could use a pre-existing condition to, um, overturn a conviction. Okay. Heather webber is diagnosed with metallosis. Basically, her artificial hip is — is poisoning her. And one of the, um — the symptoms of metallosis is a shift in personality. Okay, so is anyone arguing that heather webber isn’t responsible for all those lives she took? That’s exactly what I’m afraid of. Someone is going to use her condition as grounds to reopen heather’s case and possibly set that woman free. You think I was tracking jason? Hm. [ Sighs ] You’re getting warmer. Hide and seek? Really? Is that how the fbi conducts its business now? Oh, my supervisors would definitely not approve of the situation. But they’re not here. So. You want to guess again? Okay. Well, if you weren’t tracking jason, you were tracking… his lawyer. Diane miller? Give the lady a cigar.

[ Chuckles ] I don’t want a cigar, but I will take a very expensive glass of wine at a date to be determined. Deal. Wow. I mean, getting mugged is not generally a mood lifter, but it’s made you fun.

[ Scoffs ] Thank you.

[ Laughs ] And I am fun. You just don’t know me well enough to see it yet.

I get the legal argument that heather’s condition, uh… metallosis. …Metallosis contributed to her mental state, but she committed multiple homicides. There’s no way she should be allowed to go free. And I pray that you’re right. Exactly. Because trina’s been through enough. It’s — it’s enough. This whole family. But, baby, we made it through… yeah. …And we are stronger than ever. We are, aren’t we? We made it through together as a family. You better believe it. And I will do whatever it takes to make you feel safe and secure and loved. You just said that you would do whatever it takes? I sure did. I think I’m going to need you to prove that. I couldn’t stop thinking about my conversation with alexis about heather and the hypotheticals that could set her free. So I did a deep dive into a database about toxicology and abnormal behavior. And at first, you would think that the chances of heather’s murder conviction being overturned are inconceivable. But then with further investigation… it is not without medical and legal precedent. Oh, wow. You know, I just I can’t imagine what the reaction would be to heather going free. Well, we know portia robinson and — and sasha gilmore, dr. Obrecht, ava, all of those people are going to be outraged, as would most of the citizens of port charles, I think. Understandably. Unless it could be proven that heather herself was victimized.

[ Sighs ] And if that were the case, I think it would be wrong not to give her a second chance. Selfishly, there’s a side of me that would like to see heather redeemed. Not released, but rehabilitated into someone functional, someone stable that ace could know, maybe even have a relationship with. And if I’m completely honest, I’d like to think that there is some good that could come from the harm I’ve caused. None of this is your fault. Laura, I made one decision about my brother, and it resulted in a series of devastating events. If ryan hadn’t gotten loose, then heather would still be institutionalized and her victims would still be alive. And so would spencer and esme. We never even would have met esme. I think you’re forgetting one thing. Ace wouldn’t be here, either. Uh, I don’t have a problem with anyone in my family right now, and, gosh, I think that’s maybe the first time I’ve ever been able to really say that. My mom’s good. She’s supportive of our relationship and the surrogacy. What about your dad? My dad’s good. He loves me unconditionally. You know that. He, of course, has a dark side… …but he’s loving and he’s generous and he’s more sensitive than people think, and he can get hurt, too. I’m a little worried about my dad right now, so… is it because he and nina broke up? Nina’s not perfect, but he was happy with her. And since ava moved in — wait. She moved in? I thought she was just staying there temporarily. So did I. Ava is staying with sonny for security reasons. You keep telling yourself that. You know what, drew? Let me worry about ava, okay? You just figure out a way to get me closer to my daughter, and if it’s not appointing me to the board, then come up with something else. Even if I was willing to help you, michael will never see you as anything other than a threat to his family. You — you lied to him about his father’s death, and then you sued him to get access to his child. But willow… willow’s got a softer heart, and she and i are still friends. Okay. You will help me plead my case to her, then? Maybe. But after my near-death beating that I took in prison because of you, you’re going to have to make it so worth my while. Port charles is still my home, this warehouse is still half mine, and I’m going to be here every day importing coffee, totally legit. So whatever business you want to do, do it away from the warehouse so I don’t have to be witness to it. You think I won’t do it, jason? You think I won’t get rid of you? I can do that in a heartbeat. All I got to do is say the word, and you’re gone. Come on, sonny, if anything happens to me, you know the cops are going to look at you first. Don’t tell me what I know. You know what I know? That you can’t be trusted, and I’m going to have to get protection now from you. Because you’re a traitor. Sonny, just stop. Just stop. Yeah, you are. You’re a traitor. Are you — are you taking your meds?

What will it cost me to have you as my ally? Oh, I think “ally” is going to be a strong word for what I’ll be, but you’re a creative person. You can put your thinking cap on and come up with something that’ll be worth my time and effort, right? I like this shirt. You can start by sewing the buttons back on that. Do your own mending.

[ Grunts ] Okay, well, you know what? I did order all-new ice machines for this entire hotel, but I don’t need to keep going on and on about how this hotel is not great anymore. It’s a nice hotel, carly. Yeah, it was. It was. But I’m not going to bore you with all my complaints about the hotel. What about you? I mean, are there any other circumstances other than getting beaten up

[Chuckles] Where you’re fun? I must be concussed. Or at least punchy. I’ve said way too much already. Yeah, well, I have a lot of experiences where I’m listening to things that I don’t repeat or remember, you know? Well, that’s a way to end a conversation. Sleep well, agent cates. I’ll wake you up in a couple hours. Looks like you’re still working on the bills, huh? I guess I’ll just… no, no, no, no, no, no, not looking as good as you want to look.

[ Both chuckle ] Come here. Hi, baby. Hey, baby. You know, in case you don’t remember, we really never had an official honeymoon. I think we should do something about that as soon as possible. Okay, so you just tap there. Ha! Voil, right?

[ Chuckles ] You can see, in real time, ace sleeping. That’s amazing. Yeah. You make the same face when you’re asleep.

[ Both chuckle ] Well, maybe it runs in the family. Well, yo u know the pictureand the sound is so pristine, and here I thought that the baby monitor was the pinnacle of technological advancement. Yeah, well, it was. 20 years ago.

[ Chuckles ] And when I hear people say, “20 years,” I think, “oh, they’re talking about the ’80s.” And then I realize, no, they’re not. They’re not, yeah. Oh, sweetie, I know that us raising a baby, I mean, at this point in our lives, I know it wasn’t part of your bucket list. Was it on yours? No. Mnh-mnh. No. Well, it’s not like we’re ready to retire, and we’re not exactly people who back away from life. And I think that ace has given us so much more life. He has, and I love it. And I love you. I love you, too. You know, we took an awful lot of wrong turns and detours before we found each other, but we did, and I think ace is just another unexpected… responsibility? …Miracle.

[ Sighs ] Wow. You’re really something. I’m a lucky man. I’m a lucky woman.

[ Both chuckle ] I know there’s still a security reason for ava and avery to be staying at his place, but it’s just something doesn’t feel right about it, you know? It’s weird. And even dante noticed it, and he’s on pain meds. Did she say or do anything? No, no, just little things, you know? I can’t see the whole picture yet, but one thing I do know. Ava is a jerome, and the jeromes love power. It’s like a drug. You think she’s going to, what, make a move on sonny’s business? Not like a, you know,

move move. She would never comment something straight on. She’s too smart for that. She’d slither in from the side or something. And she’s making herself indispensable to my dad. She’s running interference. She’s making him drinks. And your dad doesn’t see what she’s doing? Worse. He likes it. A lot.

[ Sighs ] “May cause drowsiness.”

[ Sighs ] You must like the taste of those, sonny, because I took a few of them, and I feel absolutely nothing. Nada. So if they don’t help you sleep and they don’t do anything else, what do those stupid pills do? I take my medication every day, every dosage, like clockwork.

[ Chuckling ] I’m not having a breakdown. I’m just — I have to face the truth. You’re not who I thought. Or maybe you never were. I’m not your enemy. And I don’t want any trouble. And I accept that you don’t trust me. You don’t have to trust me. I’ll stay out of your way. You better. Go ahead, take the — take — take the warehouse. Sit in it till you rot. If you double cross me again, or I suspect that you’re interfering with my business or my life… …I will end you.

Days of Our Lives Update

Days of Our Lives logo

Update written by Joseph

Abe and Paulina have breakfast at the Brady Pub. Paulina complains about everything being on her special diet while she’d rather have a bear claw. Abe encourages that she will be able to have one very soon. Paulina says she doesn’t mean to complain as she is very grateful that the treatment exists but she’s dreading the treatment because she hates being away from Abe for even a minute.

Chanel runs in to Johnny in the town square. Johnny reveals the key to the Horton Cabin and announces they are starting their mini honeymoon today which surprises her. Chanel says there’s one problem that she has to work. Johnny guesses it will just have to wait then. Chanel thanks him for understanding as they kiss. Chanel then heads to the Bakery to work.

Kristen walks through the town square, reading the news on her phone and says she can’t believe that Stefan confessed to running illegal drugs through the Bistro and that he’s now behind bars.

At the DiMera Mansion, EJ is on the phone, saying the Spectator did not get the exclusive because it’s run by a DiMera and that his office will be releasing a statement today. EJ hangs up as Holly enters the room. EJ knows she’s upset about being punished but says she chose to do drugs and lied to them about it. Holly asks if he’s never lied. EJ says everyone makes mistakes but this needs to be a lesson learned. Holly complains about her and Tate not being able to see each other anymore. EJ says that was Tate’s parents decision and he can’t blame them. EJ knows Holly wants to be with Tate now, but thinks in time that she will see this is for the best. Holly thinks EJ blew everything out of proportion right from the beginning and declares that this is all EJ’s fault.

Tripp and Wendy go to the park. Wendy asks about his first day back to work. Tripp says it felt good to get back to normal and asks if she’s decided when she’s going back. Wendy says she’s not sure as Rafe left it up to her. Tripp feels that’s good. Wendy asks what they are doing out here and worries about a storm coming soon. Tripp informs her that they are going to work up a sweat. Tripp then opens his bag and presents her with boxing gloves and tells Wendy that she’s going to punch him.

Ava gets a phone call from an unknown number. Ava answers and it’s Clyde, calling from the park. Clyde says hello and bets that she thought she was rid of him. Ava asks what he wants. Clyde wants her to listen up. Ava says that Clyde almost killed her son and his girlfriend, so unless he called to tell her where he is, so that she can come slit his throat and watch him bleed, she has nothing to say. Clyde questions her hostility and remarks that he’s heard Tripp is just fun. Clyde warns her to listen to what he has to say unless she wants him to disavow Stefan’s confession to the police. Clyde informs Ava that he just finished reading this morning’s news about Stefan being arrested and that he’s awaiting arraignment while his ex-business partner, Ava, declined comment. Clyde questions her being called his ex-partner and says he doesn’t think so because he has one more little job that he needs Ava to do for him. Ava flashes back to when Clyde first asked her to run his new drug empire. Ava tells Clyde that the Bistro closed because of everything that went down. Clyde instructs her to force her way back in. Clyde doesn’t know or care how she and Harris got Stefan to take the fall, but they both know she is far from innocent on this. Clyde warns that if Ava wants to keep flying under the radar, she will do what he tells her.

Wendy questions punching Tripp as he instructs her to put the gloves on and explains that physical activity is good for working off nerves and stress. Tripp says after what they went through, it’s not surprise that they have PTSD so he thinks it might be good to work their feelings out in a physical way that’s perfectly safe. Wendy says she’s never tried boxing before. Tripp says he hasn’t either but always wanted to try. Wendy was thinking more like jogging but agrees to give boxing a try.

Chanel returns to Johnny in the town square and says her staff was wondering why she showed up when she was supposed to be on her mini honeymoon. Johnny admits he may have talked to them and they agreed to cover. Chanel says it was sweet, generous, and she really wants to go but brings Paulina starting her treatment. Johnny says that’s why he scheduled this now because Paulina is going to have to be in isolation, so she won’t be able to be with her for the next few days due to being radioactive. Chanel acknowledges that’s true. Johnny adds that the Horton Cabin is fairly close if she had to come back but assures that everything will be fine. Chanel admits she can’t say no to that. Johnny promises it will be the best time ever as they kiss.

EJ walks through the town square, on the phone with Mr. Shin, saying he has everything under control as he walks past Kristen. EJ promises Mr. Shin that he will handle it as he hangs up. Kristen complains about finding out their brother is in jail from the Spectator. Kristen questions nobody telling her. EJ tells her to get a grip. Kristen argues that Stefan was running the company, so she questions where the hell that leaves DiMera Enterprises. EJ assures that there’s nothing to worry about and he has to run. EJ walks off as Kristen shouts about the family business going under. EJ runs in to Johnny, who informs him that he and Chanel are going out of town to the Horton Cabin for a mini honeymoon. EJ tells him that’s great and long overdue but says he’s in a rush. Johnny stops him and says he also wanted to know about Stefan being in jail. EJ questions if he even cares. Johnny insists that he does since Stefan is his uncle. EJ points out that Stefan was supplying the drugs that nearly got Holly killed and assures that everything is under control. EJ tells Johnny not to worry and to go enjoy his honeymoon as they both deserve some time off. EJ then hurries off.

Wendy worries about hurting Tripp with a punch but Tripp assures her that she did good and they joke about it. Wendy mentions being a brown belt in taekwondo but says she’s never punched someone. Wendy takes off her gloves and tells Tripp it’s his turn but Tripp decides jogging doesn’t sound like a bad idea, so Wendy says she’ll race him.

Ava tells Clyde that she doesn’t care about flying under the radar so he can go ahead and tell someone that she was just as involved as Stefan. Ava says she’d rather park her ass in jail than do anything for Clyde again. Ava declares that she’s hanging up and tells him not to call back. Clyde asks what would Harris say if he knew how he got out of prison. Clyde guesses that got her attention and says he’s only asking for one small favor. Ava refuses to launder his money. Clyde says this job is easy. Clyde reveals that Gil hid a little black book at the Bistro and inside that book is all the information on his suppliers and dealers. Clyde says there is no digital trail on him as everything is in that book. Clyde declares that Ava is to get him that book and it is not to be placed in anyone else’s hands. Clyde points out that he’s not asking Ava to kill anybody or kidnap anybody or even betray her friends. Clyde says that book is the only trail back to him, so if she gets it to him, he will pick up and move his operations elsewhere so she’ll never have to hear from him again. Ava then tells Clyde that this is the last thing she will ever do for him and then she’s out.

Abe and Paulina talk about her upcoming treatment. Chanel arrives and says she brought some treats that are made to be on her approved foods list which excites Paulina. Chanel says she has to go but will have her phone on if they need her to come back as she reveals that she and Johnny are going to the Horton Cabin for a mini honeymoon. Paulina calls that wonderful and insists on them going.

Holly sits at home and thinks back to being with Tate. Johnny comes in and greets her, then asks what’s wrong. Holly complains that she has no life. Johnny has no idea what she’s talking about. Holly informs him that she and Tate are no longer allowed to see each other which Johnny says sucks. Holly adds that she’s not in love with Tate in case anyone tells him that, but she does really like him. Holly says it doesn’t matter because Nicole and EJ decided they are toxic for each other. Holly remarks that she thinks EJ and Nicole are a total mismatch. Johnny says he’s sorry that she and Tate can’t hang out. Holly blames herself for making such a mess out of everything. Johnny says they all mess up and she’s paying the consequences, but soon it will just be a bad memory. Johnny mentions that he and Chanel are getting away for the weekend, so he has to go pack. Holly says she’s really happy for them and hopes she finds that one day. Johnny tells her not to rush as she has loads of time. Johnny says when he gets back, if she still wants to talk, there will be no judgment. Johnny heads upstairs and then Rachel comes in and greets Holly. Rachel suggests they go paint their nails which Holly agrees to.

Wendy and Tripp return home as they finish their jogging. Wendy pulls out her phone and sees the Spectator article about Stefan being in jail after confessing to running drugs out of the Bistro. Tripp asks if it says anything about his mom. Wendy says just that Stefan’s ex-business partner declined to comment. Ava then comes in and greets them, asking if they are okay. Tripp responds that he’s fine but she has some explaining to do as he shows her the article. Tripp asks Ava what’s going on and why Stefan would do that. Ava claims not to know. Tripp thought they were both forced in to this shady stuff and threatened by Clyde. Ava guesses that Stefan felt so guilty about what happened to them. Tripp feels that doesn’t sound like Stefan but says who cares since it’s great news and Ava can finally put all of this behind her. Ava declares that she’s going to make a fresh start and she has started by quitting the Bistro since it’s too much bad luck and bad memories. Ava adds that her fresh start includes finding a new place to live.

Rachel and Holly paint their nails. Holly asks Rachel about school. Johnny and Chanel come in. Johnny announces they are taking off for their honeymoon. Holly tells them to have a great time. Johnny and Chanel then exit together.

Abe tells Paulina that he’s going to miss her. Paulina says she’s going to this procedure, knowing he will be at home waiting for her. Paulina says it comforts her knowing that he remembers their history and loves her as Abe hugs her.

Tripp questions Ava moving out. Ava jokes that newlyweds need their space. Wendy says they aren’t exactly but Ava says she heard they exchanged vows which Tripp and Wendy flash back to. Ava asks if they are going to make it official. Tripp says maybe, but for now their vows are on the backburner. Wendy agrees that they are just happy being together. Ava feels they still need their space. Tripp says she doesn’t have to do this. Ava argues that she nearly got them killed. Ava says they have been too generous and let her stay way too long. Ava thinks moving out on her own will be best for everyone.

Abe brings Paulina to the hospital where she prepares for her treatment. Abe encourages that it’s only for a few days. Tripp enters and greets them. Paulina says it’s good to see him. Abe adds that they are so relieved that Tripp and Wendy were rescued. Tripp thanks him. Paulina calls it a horrifying ordeal. Tripp says it was but they are okay now and feeling very lucky. Tripp mentions hearing they had an ordeal as well but with a really happy ending. Abe says they are blessed. Tripp tells Paulina that they will get started and explains that she will be taken to a special room to take the radioactive pill. Paulina asks if she and Abe can have a minute before she goes. Tripp agrees to send a nurse for her in ten minutes and exits the room. Abe then hugs Paulina.

Johnny and Chanel arrive on Smith Island as Johnny carries her in to the cabin. They talk about the place being private and cozy. Johnny jokes that they can be as loud as they want, unlike at the DiMera Mansion. Chanel wonders when anyone was last there. Johnny guesses it’s been awhile and decides he will get some firewood for them as he then exits.

Rachel tells Holly that she doesn’t like boys and is never getting married. They talk until Kristen walks in and orders Rachel to go upstairs, so she exits. Kristen questions what the hell Holly is doing. Holly responds that they were just hanging out. Kristen says not anymore and tells Holly to stay away from her daughter. Holly argues that they were just doing manicures like they used to. Kristen argues that Holly used to not do drugs back then. Holly says she’s not doing drugs now. Kristen questions if she’s lying now like she was before when she let Tate take the fall. Kristen complains that Tate is like a son to her and he’s also Rachel’s half-brother. Kristen asks how Rachel is going to feel when she finds out what Holly did to Tate. Kristen warns that if she finds her with Rachel again, she will regret it. EJ walks in and screams at Kristen that’s enough and that she will not talk to Holly like that anymore. Kristen complains about Holly and Rachel. EJ mocks her asking if they were doing their nails or listening to Cannibal Corpse. Kristen argues that Rachel is her daughter, so she will decide who she hangs out with. EJ brings up Kristen’s villainous history with Brady, Theresa, Marlena, and Eric to name a few. Kristen tells EJ to get off his high horse and storms out of the room. EJ remarks that Kristen makes his blood boil and says he’s sorry for losing his temper, but Holly thanks him for having her back. EJ tells her to let him know if Kristen gives her any more trouble as he then exits the room.

Wendy asks Ava if she needs help looking for a new place. Ava says she can manage. Wendy repeats that she doesn’t have to go. Ava admits that she’s been really good to her and she appreciates it as she then heads to her room.

Abe exits Paulina’s hospital room.

Johnny lights a fire at the Horton Cabin and tells Chanel that it should start to warm up soon. Chanel has an idea on speeding that up as they start kissing. They say they will love each other forever as they continue kissing.

Days of Our Lives Update

Days of Our Lives logo

Update written by Joseph

At the Brady Pub, Steve works on his laptop. John arrives and asks if he got anything. Steve gives him bad news that he’s done several deep searches and nothing has come up yet, so where ever Clyde has gone is definitely off the grid. Steve still can’t believe Clyde got away and says he should’ve known that Ava would double cross them. John says he won’t make excuses for Ava but she obviously wasn’t thinking straight since she was worried about her son’s life. Steve argues that Ava going rogue led to Clyde and Goldman getting away while Tripp and Wendy could have been killed anyway. John questions how they know that Ava doesn’t know more than she’s letting on.

Harris gets up and joins Ava in the kitchen at her apartment. Harris comments on her letting him sleep in and they kiss. Harris asks how she’s feeling after quitting her job at the Bistro. Ava responds that she feels free for the first time she can remember and like her life belongs to her again. Harris calls that a great way to start the day as they continue kissing.

Konstantin joins Maggie in the living room of the Kiriakis Mansion and asks if she’s okay. Maggie says she’s been reconciling in her mind with the many sides of Victor. Konstantin says they all have their past but what’s important is the present. Maggie calls him a remarkable man. Konstantin responds that he’s inspired by her.

Alex goes to the Titan office and finds Theresa. Alex tells her that her performance at their meeting was very impressive and that it’s good to have her back. Theresa admits it’s great to be back in the office and seeing sales go up. Brady arrives and jokes about it being true that Theresa is back in the office. Brady tells Theresa that he was going to call her as he was wondering if he could talk to her for a minute about Tate and Holly. Theresa questions what Holly did to their son now.

Harris and Ava have breakfast together. Harris comments that she made him a believer in vegan bacon. Harris gets a message on his phone that the audit has been wrapped up at the Bistro, the books are clean, and there’s nothing linking Ava to anything illegal at all. Ava is relieved and acknowledges Stefan taking responsibility. Harris points out that it was either that or go down for attempted murder of a cop. Ava still can’t believe Stefan took the fall. Harris assures that he did and that means it’s over but he’s not sure that she really believes it. Ava says she wants to, but feels too many people know she was involved and that it wasn’t Stefan working alone. Harris encourages that no one will say anything and that Clyde won’t care who takes the fall. Harris insists that those who know, Tripp, Wendy, Steve, and John all want to protect her. Harris declares that Clyde can’t hurt Ava now, so she’s free to start her life.

John asks Steve if he thinks Ava knows something she isn’t telling them. Steve says it’s hard to say but he knows she wants Clyde to pay for what he did to Tripp. John points out that it is Ava. Steve admits that as soon as you think you can trust Ava, you can be quickly reminded of being a gullible fool. John decides they should talk to Ava again before Clyde hurts anyone else while on the run. Steve says they wouldn’t be able to live with that. Kayla comes over and questions what they wouldn’t be able to live with.

Brady informs Theresa about Tate going to see Holly even after they told him not to. Theresa is shocked that Tate lied. Brady adds that EJ and Nicole were there, so he told them that they have to keep Holly away from Tate. Theresa says they obviously see that Holly and Tate are totally toxic for each other. Theresa doesn’t understand why Tate wants to see Holly after all she’s done to him. Brady calls it teen infatuation but thinks as long as the adults are aligned, things will settle down as they are kept separate and it will all be good. Theresa hugs Brady and thanks him so much for handling this because she would’ve lost it if she was there. Brady admits he almost lost it but they have to do what’s best for their son as Alex watches on from the corner.

Maggie tells Konstantin that she’s still processing his relationship with Victor, questioning how they developed a friendship over the years. Konstantin claims that they were mortal enemies but even in their darkest moments, they felt like kindred spirits. Maggie remarks that she didn’t think she would ever fall in love again when she lost Mickey, but she did and Victor was her second chapter. Maggie says she couldn’t have been more surprised as Victor had a big heart and deep devotion for his family. Maggie declares that’s the Victor she knew and loved. Konstantin says that’s the Victor they should both remember.

Steve tells Kayla that he’s surprised as he thought she was going to work. Kayla thought she’d pick up some food on her way and questions what Steve can’t live with. Steve responds that he can’t live with the fact that Clyde Weston got away or that he’s still out there. John tells Steve that they got to get a move on for their client meeting, so Steve tells Kayla they will talk later. Steve tells Kayla that he loves her and then exits with John.

Maggie tells Konstantin that he is very kind. Konstantin says she brings out the best in him, as she did with Victor. Maggie says she and Victor needed and adored each other, but she’s still struggling with what she knows about Victor’s past. Maggie adds that seeing Konstantin find peace has given her hope. Konstantin says hope holds them together and shines light on what is to come. Julie walks in and screams that the place is turning in to a madhouse, then asks if she’s interrupting.

Theresa tells Brady that she was a handful as a teenager but not like Tate and Holly. They agree they have to be united. Theresa prays that EJ and Nicole are on the same page. Theresa realizes she has to get to a meeting. Alex tells Theresa that he will be cooking dinner for when she gets home. Brady questions if he missed something. Alex then informs Brady that Theresa moved back in with him.

Harris asks about what Ava is going to do next. Ava talks about dreaming of being a fashion designer as a kid but that wasn’t in the cards with her family. Ava says cooking is now her passion so Harris suggests culinary school could be her next move. Harris says that whatever she chooses, he will be there and cheering her on as he believes in her. Ava says that means more than he knows. They are then interrupted by a knock at the door. Ava assumes it’s the groceries but answers the door to see Steve and John. Ava questions what they want. They respond that they are there to talk about Clyde Weston.

Julie tells Maggie that she’s not complaining but she’s just a little tired. Julie says she loves Thomas and Charlotte but questions when spring break ends. Konstantin says it’s time for his morning walk and asks Maggie to continue their conversation later over afternoon tea in the garden which Maggie agrees to as Konstantin exits. Julie then questions what she walked in on.

Brady is surprised since Theresa said she was staying at the Salem Inn. Theresa explains that she was but then she ran in to Alex. Alex points out that Theresa never really moved out since half of her belongings were still there. Theresa repeats that she has to go and tells Alex that she will see him at home as she exits.

Steve tells Ava that they didn’t realize she had company so they can come back another time but Harris says if it’s about Clyde, he’d like to hear it too. John says they were going over everything and wondered if Ava remembered anything new. Ava wishes she did but says she wasn’t Clyde’s confidant. Ava says she wants Clyde caught and put away as much as anyone. Harris talks about law enforcement doing their best and points out that John and Steve are really good at their job, so the more eyes looking for Clyde, the better. Harris asks John and Steve to let them know if they find anything because he wouldn’t want them taking things in to their own hands. John claims they wouldn’t dream of it. Steve decides they’ve taken up enough of their time. Ava decides she’s going to get ready to start her day and heads to her room. Harris suggests they keep each other in the loop. Steve agrees while John asks Steve to go ahead as he wants to pick Harris’ brain about a couple things. Steve tells John that he’ll see him back at the office and exits. John asks Harris since they are keeping each other in the loop, if he can get a look at Goldman’s personnel file. Harris says they’ve scoured everything they have on her while John feels fresh eyes can’t hurt. Harris tells John that he already knows that’s against policy. John argues that it might help put Clyde behind bars. John says they have both worked outside the lines from time to time. Harris asks if her personnel file is all she needs. John adds that he also has a personal question for him about them that they both have in common. John calls it a shared experience and he’s talking about what Megan did to him. Harris says he tries not to think about that. John asks how that’s working out for him. Harris admits in the beginning, it wasn’t good, until he went to Bayview and that helped a lot mostly thanks to Marlena. John wonders if that’s enough sometimes. Harris asks what he means. John asks Harris if he’s afraid that he’s nothing but a ticking time bomb and that anytime, it could happen all over again.

After Maggie fills Julie in, Julie calls it terrible for Konstantin to lose his daughter that way and worries about the agony for John feeling responsible. Maggie comments on knowing that Victor played a part in it and says she’s had to dig deep in her feelings about who Victor really was. Julie calls Victor a complicated paradox but says Doug is too as he certainly has a past, but now he’s a model citizen and the most loving man she ever met. Julie encourages that Maggie brought out the best in Victor. Maggie says Julie has a gift for saying the right thing and lifting everyone’s spirits. Julie toasts to them knowing how to pick them.

Brady questions Alex about he and Theresa going from almost engaged to roommates again. Alex asks why not since it gives Theresa a chance to find her own place and claims there’s no hidden agenda, as he just wants what is best for her. Alex thinks Theresa has the ability to make serious waves in the company. Brady comments on Alex sounding like Victor there, so he’s glad that he’s pushing that legacy forward. Alex says finding out Victor was his father put another level of pressure on him, so he just wants to make him proud. Brady encourages that he thinks Victor would be very proud. Alex says he appreciates that and he’s happy to hear that Tate was exonerated. Brady talks about the challenges and wanting Tate to know what a healthy relationship is. Brady adds that he wants the same thing for Theresa which is why he’s warning Alex not to screw with her.

Theresa walks through the town square and runs in to Konstantin, who says he’s been trying to reach her but she never responds. Theresa argues that she’s been busy, the world doesn’t revolve around him, and she’s in a rush. Konstantin wants an update on her relationship with Alex. Theresa informs him that he’ll be pleased to hear that she moved back in to Alex’s apartment, but she’s keeping it strictly platonic as roommates in separate rooms. Konstantin says that’s for now. Theresa questions if she’s not moving fast enough for him. Konstantin responds that what he’s about to say might surprise her.

Steve brings flowers to Kayla in her office. Kayla questions what he did. Steve asks if he can’t just bring his wife flowers. Kayla says not unless he’s done something she won’t be happy about. Kayla adds that it was so obvious at the Pub that something was going on. Kayla asks Steve to talk to her. Steve says he hates keeping secrets from her but he doesn’t want to put her in a position of having to lie for him. Kayla argues that he knows she has his back and would do anything for him, so she asks him to tell her what’s going on. Steve tells her to sit down because it’s a long story.

Harris tells John that he’d be lying if he said it didn’t cross his mind that it could happen all over again, but working with the doctors and working on himself saved him. Harris says he has to live with what he did as that’s never going to change. Harris admits in the beginning, it was tough as he was so overwhelmed with the guilt. John asks how he dealt with it. Harris says he just kept reminding himself that those actions were not committed freely, so he wasn’t responsible for those actions. Harris can see that John is still struggling. Harris says it took him a long time to come to terms with his past. Harris encourages that John has to tell himself every day that it was not his fault and put the blame where the blame belongs on the people who tried to control him. Harris declares that they were victims, but to continue to not be victimized by them, he has to forgive himself.

Kayla can’t believe it and questions Steve, John, and Ava creating this whole hazmat incident as a cover to extract Clyde Weston from prison. Kayla goes over Steve breaking a dangerous criminal and convicted murderer out of prison. Steve says he was desperate and afraid he’d never see his son again. Kayla complains that he negotiated with a terrorist. Steve feels he had no choice because he knew Clyde would kill Tripp and Wendy if he didn’t do something. Kayla questions breaking him out of prison being the only option. Kayla adds that it’s not shocking that Ava double crossed him which Steve admits they should’ve anticipated. Kayla complains that Steve would trust Ava. Steve argues that time was not on their side and he thought he was going to lose his son. Steve knew it’d be dangerous. Kayla asks how he could do something so stupid.

Alex says that Brady has given him a lot of insight and advice in regards to Theresa. Alex feels his subtext was that a recovering addict is always on the verge of a relapse and now he’s telling him not to screw with her. Brady doesn’t want things to end badly for her and just wants her to be okay. Alex feels it just goes further than that with all his interventions. Alex believes Brady is far more interested in Theresa than just as the mother of his child. Brady assures that’s not the case as he wants Theresa to be stable as her life is complicated enough without involving Kristen. Alex questions why she’d have to deal with Kristen. Brady points out that Kristen is going to be around if she and Alex are dating. Alex points out that it’d be a plus for Brady because Kristen being around would drive Theresa right back to him. Brady repeats that he just wants the best for Theresa and that’s the extent of his concern. Alex says he’s not very convincing and he thinks Brady is lying to himself. Brady decides he should leave then. Alex reminds him that Theresa is back under his roof and whatever happens between them is between them. Brady says the notice is served loud and clear as he exits the office.

Konstantin tells Theresa that nothing attracts men like Alex more than forbidden fruit. Konstantin says he’s observed this over the years. Theresa mocks his expertise. Konstantin argues that they both know men like Alex will want what they cannot have, so she must create that illusion for him, so he will run right in to her arms and her bed. Theresa says she already knew that and that he’ll be pleased to know her plan is to slow burn until Alex is consumed by the flames of passion. Theresa then walks away.

Steve tells Kayla that he’s not proud of what he did and he wishes he hadn’t agreed to it, but it was an awful sudden turn of events and asks Kayla to try to understand that. Kayla can’t understand why Steve ever trusted Ava. Steve argues that he keeps telling her that he was desperate and thought his son was going to die. Steve adds that things would’ve been different if Ava came to him as soon as Clyde got his hooks into her. Kayla complains that she didn’t because Ava is incapable of thinking about anyone other than herself before it’s too late. Steve shouts that she doesn’t have to remind him. Kayla feels she obviously does because Steve was deceived by Ava again in the worst possible way. Kayla complains that every time they are sucked in to Ava’s vortex, they are the ones who suffer and Steve should know better, but he let it happen again. Kayla declares there is no damn excuse for that as she then storms out of her office.

Brady joins John in the town square and says he wanted to talk to him. John asks if everything is okay. Brady says there’s nothing to report but he knows something has been weighing on John and he feels he hasn’t been attentive. John says to forget about him and talk about something good for a change like Tate coming home. Brady calls that a big relief and mentions their plan to go to a Cubs game this weekend. Brady invites John to join them which John says he would love. Brady still wants to know how John is doing. John responds that he’s feeling a lot better today. Brady says he can see that in his eyes, like he finally found peace or something. John says that’s what he’s been praying for and he’s starting to feel like his prayers are being answered.

Maggie tells Julie how much she lifts her spirits and how she keeps her optimism even in the darkest of times. Julie says the alternative would be to sink in to despair. Julie says Maggie makes her faith in the human race rise because she is all heart. Julie asks Maggie how Holly is doing. Maggie says she’s fine, physically, but confessed that it was her drugs that she overdosed on and not Tate’s. Maggie says on one hand, she’s relieved that Holly is home and Brady and Theresa have that weight off their shoulders but on the other hand, she’s sad to know her granddaughter is using drugs. Julie encourages that they are all here for her and Maggie is not alone. Julie then points out that Maggie is not alone that often these days as she and Konstantin seem to be growing closer. Maggie confirms they are and says he’s become a very good friend.

Alex comes home to Theresa, who is folding her lingerie as part of her laundry which distracts Alex. Alex says he’s going to shower and then will start cooking. Theresa remarks that her mission is close to accomplished.

Ava comes back to the living room and kisses Harris. Ava asks what’s wrong. Harris says he was just going to his place to get some clothes for work and assuming he’s going to stay the night, so he will be right back. Ava tells him that he knows where she’ll be as he then exits. Ava then gets a phone call from an unknown number. Ava answers and it’s Clyde, calling from the park. Clyde says hello and bets that she thought she was rid of him.

Recap written by Suzanne

Steffy and Finn chat about how they can move on now that Sheila’s dead. She knows that Hope was at the memorial, so he fills her in on what happened, which they discuss. Steffy is perturbed when Deacon phone Finn.

At Il Giardino, Deacon is still upset at seeing ten toes on the corpse and wonders if he really saw it. Hollings asks him if he’s okay because he’s clearly distraught. He has a flashback to Sheila tell him about how she cut off her toe because she knew that the Forresters would never except her death otherwise (the last time she faked her death). He phones Finn to come see him, so he does. Finn urges him to move on from Sheila’s death. Deacon poses the disturbing question, “What if she’s not really dead?”

Hope has a meeting with Zende, Luna and RJ about the future of her line. She tells them briefly that Thomas has gone back to Paris, so they have to move on without him. She tells them that Zende will be taking Thomas’ place, and she wants Luna to work with him and learn from him. Later, Luna tells Zende how she’s wracked with guilt and needs to tell RJ the truth.

Cole: Hey!

Victoria: Hi, cole.

Victor: Hi, cole.

Victoria: Um, thank you for coming.

Cole: Uh, sure thing. Uh, though I figured you’d still be unpacking up at the tack house.

Victoria: Uh, well, it’s coming along slowly.

Cole: Oh, okay. So– so, what’s up? Is there an update on jordan?

Victor: Only that there’s no mention of the woman’s name tonight. All right? Now, we are going to go to the jazz lounge. Nikki and i have an anniversary to plan. And we would like all of you to join us.

Cole: Well, I’d be honored.

Victoria: Uh, listen, I hope that you don’t mind the venue.

Cole: Why would I?

Victoria: Well, I– I wanted to show claire the place.

Cole: Oh, it’s– it’s a great place.

Victoria: And, uh, and I wanted to tell her more about the man that it was named for.

Cole: Oh, so you want to tell her about neil winters and how he almost became a stepfather to her.

Summer: As much as i miss being with harrison at the abbott house, living here does have its perks.

Chance: Yeah, it’s kind of nice having someone else make you drinks sometimes. You want to grab these two by the bar?

Summer: You know, that’s not what I was talking about.

Chance: Oh, no?

Summer: Uh, no. But if you just want to forget about all of that.

Chance: Oh, no, not for a second. Are you kidding me? Come on. Mm.

[ Phone pings ]

Summer: Oh. Okay. Great, finally heard from daniel. Wants to get breakfast tomorrow. God, he must be so upset about getting fired. But leaving lily for heather? I’m not sure exactly what he expected.

Chance: No.

Summer: It’s never gonna be easy and painless for any of them.

Lily: Can I help you?

Daniel: Can we talk?

Lily: I think we’ve said all there is.

Daniel: I want to talk to you about omegasphere. More specifically, princess louisa.

Tucker: I’m really sorry you had to deal with ashley again.

Audra: Don’t apologize. Yeah, I see it now. You’re right. Something strange is happening to that woman. It’s unsettling to watch for anyone. And more so the people who care about her.

Tucker: Yeah. I hope jack and the abbotts can get her the professional help she needs.

Traci: Thank you so much for coming. Um, everyone, I– I– I know it’s late, uh, but this is something I didn’t think could wait.

Diane: Well, it’s nice to be included in the family meeting.

Traci: It affects us all.

Billy: Uh, well, obviously we’re here for a reason, but do we know how long this is going to be? I– I just want to be aware of chelsea. She’s dealing with some stuff with connor.

Traci: I’m so sorry to pull you away. I promise, it’s important.

Jack: So, we’re waiting for ashley, right? I mean, she is the topic, isn’t she?

Traci: I am scared to death for ashley.

Ms. Abbott: I said wake up.

Ash: Hey! You pulled me back in.

Ms. Abbott: Because you’re interfering with my plan, and now I have to do damage control to get us back on track.

Ash: Your plan is dangerous. It’s going to backfire. We’re supposed to protect ashley, not get her into major trouble. My mental health was better.

Announcer: Additional sponsorship provided by…

Summer: I don’t know. I think I’m just worried about how getting fired is going to affect daniel. Yeah, I even thought about calling my mom, but that would be a nightmare for obvious reasons.

Chance: I have been bracing for phyllis to storm into the office when she gets wind of this.

Summer: Oh, you joke. But I’m sure you are worried about the blowback for chancellor-winters. I mean, firing both daniel and heather, that’s a pretty bold move.

Summer: Yeah, I can see it causing some hr issues.

Summer: I’m more worried about daniel emotionally. I don’t think he really thought about all the repercussions of him getting back together with heather.

Chance: Well, people usually don’t when it comes to love.

Summer: You know, omegasphere kind of saved him. He used to be a painter.

Chance: Yeah, I remember you mentioning that.

Summer: Yeah, well, it was his passion, and then his career stalled out, and he fell apart.

Chance: Like the whole struggling artist thing?

Summer: Oh, it was worse than that. He went to this really dark place, he pushed everyone away, and heather tried to stick around as long as she could, but at a certain point, she had to take lucy and move to portugal just to get away from his moods.

Chance: It’s hard to believe that this is the same guy that created our insanely successful gaming platform.

Summer: Princess louisa is what brought him back to himself, and to lucy, and now to heather.

Chance: Maybe it served its purpose. He doesn’t need it anymore.

Summer: Mm. Or maybe having his new career yanked away from him is going to make him spiral down all over again.

Daniel: I get you letting me go and I understand you cutting me loose from omegasphere, but I am begging you to let me keep princess louisa.

Lily: And why would i do that?

Daniel: Because you, more than anyone, know what this means to me. I created this game for my daughter. I made the character in her image, not just artistically, but spiritually, too. I poured all of my love for my daughter and all my pain from messing up my relationship with her into this game. And it was you, it was you who stood by and you cheered me on, and you gave me the opportunity to bring princess louisa to life. That saved me. It brought my daughter back to me. It saved our relationship. It gave me the opportunity to be a father to her again. And you did that. I’m not saying that you shouldn’t be mad at me. I’m just asking you to remember why we built this, and I am begging you, just please don’t take this away from me.

Ms. Abbott: My god, you’re such an idiot. Don’t you see the emotional threat that tucker mccall poses to ashley?

Ash: You don’t intimidate me. I know you’re dangerous, and you’re putting ashley at risk.

Ms. Abbott: She’s vulnerable when she’s around him. And he’s not going anywhere. It’s my job to make sure that he gets out of her life for good.

Ash: You’re gonna make it worse. I know what you’re planning and it scares me.

Ms. Abbott: Because you’re ignorant.

Ash: You’re gross! What if they blame her? Have you ever thought about that? And then we wouldn’t have protected ashley at all.

Ms. Abbott: She won’t be blamed. Our sweet little vessel will be protected.

Ash: Just how are you gonna do that?

Ms. Abbott: Tucker mccall’s bimbo girlfriend. She’s gonna take the fall.

Tucker: Shall we move on to a more pressing topic?

Audra: You know, I’m surprised you didn’t bring up your proposal to me to ashley.

Tucker: Did you want me to?

Audra: You know, I almost brought it up myself. But I can’t believe I’m saying this. It seemed cruel.

Tucker: Even as she continues to push her way into our life?

Audra: What I saw wasn’t just a jealous ex. You know, she’s clearly troubled. Something’s happening to her.

Tucker: Are you saying you felt sorry for her?

Audra: Oh.

Jack: Okay, so ashley has been moody lately. We’ve all discussed that. How did this turn into such a scary problem?

Traci: Okay, first, I think we need to talk about tucker’s warning to her. You know, telling her she needs to get professional help.

Jack: As I said to you, this is another of mccall’s mind games. Now that ashley sees him for who he is, he wants to sow doubt in all of our minds about her mental health. As if she could only be unwell if she wanted nothing to do with him.

Traci: No. Jack, I don’t believe that’s it. I’ve been thinking back to when we were in paris and her behavior once we got home, and I just can’t shake the sense that there is something way bigger going on here than just a mccall ploy. And we would never forgive ourselves if he’s right and– and we just sit back and do nothing.

Jack: I’m sorry, traci. Ashley has warned me too many times lately to butt out.

Diane: It’s true. She’s made it very clear that she’s tired of everyone weighing in with their opinions.

Traci: Isn’t it better to be wrong and sorry than to ignore the possibility? I mean, come on! I can take the heat of ashley’s anger, but I would not be able to live with myself if I ignore warning signs and there are consequences.

Billy: I think that’s fair, traci, but maybe we just give her a little bit of time to work this out on her own as she’s demanded, you know? What’s the urgency?

Traci: Things have got far more dangerous than you know. Hey! It’s your dry skin.

Chance: You know, I was surprised at first that lily and devon would fire them both so quickly, but I thought about it, and… when abby, she cheated on me, I, um… well, I– I guess I understand where lily’s coming from. A betrayal like that, it hurts like hell. And it’s hard to look at it in the face, literally, every day just because you have to run a company.

Summer: I get it. I probably would do the exact same thing as lily, but it doesn’t stop me from worrying about my brother. I just– I don’t know what to do.

Chance: Maybe there is nothing to do other than just be there for him.

Summer: Seems like falling in love doesn’t get any less complicated the more that you do it.

Chance: Yeah, but when love works out, it’s totally worth it. Otherwise, we’d stop after the first time. Wise man.

Chance: Mm, well, I don’t like to brag.

Summer: Uh-uh.

Chance: Now, if I may?

Summer: Of course.

[ Soft jazz music plays ]

Claire: Maybe that’s too awkward for you. When mom suggested telling me about neil, I didn’t know you were coming.

Cole: No, it’s– it’s okay. And there’s no need to explain or protect me. I was there, and I know what happened. I, uh, I wasn’t happy when neil wanted to step in at that time. But now, I can appreciate what he was willing to do. We were young, we made mistakes, or at least I certainly did.

Claire: Maybe, but you’ve been here for me throughout this whole ordeal. You’re the best father I could have ever wanted.

Cole: Thank you. I want you to know your story. All of it. And neil was going to be a part of that story, and he helped your mother through a very tough time. And for that, I will always be grateful.

Victor: Claire… neil was… a truly good man, and a very trusted friend.

Nikki: Yes, we helped each other through some rough times.

Claire: It feels like every day I’m learning about or meeting people who touched my life in ways I didn’t even know about. I can’t wait to learn more.

Jack: Exactly how did things become dangerous?

Traci: Look, I’m– I’m struggling here because I– I– I’m trying not to break ashley’s confidence. She swore me to secrecy.

Billy: Okay, um, I think we all know that if our sister’s safety is a concern, we appreciate you wanting to keep a secret, but to hell with that.

Jack: Come on, out with it.

Traci: Ashley is having blackouts. She’s waking up in strange places with no recollection of how she got there.

Audra: It’s like I was talking to two different people. A frantic, scared little girl, and then seconds later, ashley on steroids. Just in control, above it all. That’s the one you got there in time to see.

Tucker: Hm.

Audra: And it wasn’t just a mood swing. It was jarring.

Tucker: Yeah. Seems like she’s getting worse by the day.

Audra: You know, she said she, or ashley, is planning to hurt you.

Tucker: Yeah, I just– I have a hard time believing she’d actually be physically dangerous.

Audra: Well, I assume she meant emotionally, like break your heart.

Tucker: Mm-hmm.

Audra: I hadn’t even considered she might have plans to do you physical harm.

Ash: What do you mean? You’re going to pull tucker’s girlfriend into this mess?

Ms. Abbott: Mm-hmm. My plan is genius, so you stay out of it. Or I just might have to make you disappear for good.

Ash: You can’t do that. Ashley created me to protect her from you.

Ms. Abbott: Mm. That’s so sweet. I’m the only one that’s looking out for her best interests.

Ash: You’re going too far, and I’m going to stop you.

Ms. Abbott: I’m in control of this situation. I am stronger than you and even ashley. Just look at her. She’s so weak. She’s so vulnerable. Where would she be without me? When you have chronic kidney disease,

Summer: Seriously?

Victor: Oh, my goodness, chance and summer. It’s so nice to see both of you. You look so happy.

Summer: Oh, thanks…

Victor: My goodness.

Summer: …Grandpa, it’s nice to feel that way.

Claire: Hey, uh, how’s my new buddy, harrison?

Summer: He’s fine, thanks.

Nikki: Why don’t you join us at our table? It’s family night out, the more the merrier.

Summer: Uh, why not?

Cole: Oh, great, great. I’ll go get a table.

Victor: Uh, would you mind talking to granddad for a moment?

Summer: Absolutely, grandpa.

Victor: Thank you. So…

Summer: What’s up?

Victor: …Why do I get the feeling that you’re not all that happy with your new cousin? I mean, is it because of what I’ve told you about her?

Summer: You act like everything that happened is ancient history, but it was just a couple months ago that she tried to poison all of you, and now you’re here chummy with her?

Victor: I understand your concern. I really do. But just know that we all have decided to move beyond that, and I hope that you can too. And just remember, we’re all a result of our upbringing, and claire did not have too good of an upbringing.

Summer: Even so, anybody that could go along with a scheme like that, even if it wasn’t her idea, I just– I don’t trust her.

Billy: Ashley’s blacking out? Is she drinking?

Traci: I asked her the same thing. She says no. It’s different.

Jack: So, what exactly did ashley tell you?

Traci: Okay, remember I told you that she was out all night and didn’t come home?

Jack: Yeah, as adults do sometimes.

Traci: Well, after you left, she finally did come home. And she was a wreck! I pushed her to find out where she’d been, and finally she said that she couldn’t answer my question because she had no idea.

Billy: That’s not good.

Traci: No! Apparently she woke up in some seedy motel, alone, thank god, but she had absolutely no memory of how she got there, and no, pills and alcohol were not involved.

Jack: This is serious.

Traci: Yes! Thank you! Thank you for finally realizing that!

Billy: Okay, um, I feel like I’m playing catch up a little bit here. So, how long has this been going on for? A while or?

Traci: But I– I don’t know how long the blackouts have been happening, but I think we’ve all seen some pretty erratic behavior from her lately.

Billy: I mean, I have. I told you that I had a run-in with her at society, and she was acting like a child.

Jack: I had a similar situation with her here. She was binge watching sitcoms in the middle of the day. When I told her billy and i were both concerned about her, she told me to tell everyone to stop bugging her and leave her alone!

Traci: It’s time to take a look at the real possibility something serious is going on with her!

Daniel: I hate that i hurt you, and I understand why you wouldn’t want to see me or heather in the building.

Lily: I think it’s too late for regrets now.

Daniel: If you can find it in your heart just to let me carve out this tiny little piece, I will gladly walk away from the rest of omegasphere.

Lily: You know, you seem to think that you have some sort of say in this.

Daniel: I thought you understood where I was coming from.

Lily: Well, I mean, understanding your request and granting it are two different things. But lucy forgave you, heather’s back in your bed again, you’re one big happy family. So princess louisa served its purpose. And now, it’s just another game. And I own it. After cooking a delicious knorr chicken

Announcer: The young and the restless will continue.

Ms. Abbott: Look at you. You can’t fight me. Go back to sleep.

Ash: No. You can’t make me. You’re not the boss of me.

Ms. Abbott: Oh, but I am.

Ash: No. Ashley. Ashley, please. No. Ashley. No.

[ Grunts ]

Ms. Abbott: Soon, he’s going to be gone for good. And then you’ll be safe. I promise.

[ Gasps ]

Ashley: Oh, my god, what the hell is this? Honestly. Yeah. It’s time for you to go, tucker.

Claire: It’s one thing to find out both of you wanted me, but the idea this man did too, how did that happen?

Victoria: I told you that your father and I were not together when you were born.

Cole: We were headed for divorce.

Victoria: And, um, then i started dating neil, and I found out I was pregnant with you.

Cole: And I didn’t know yet.

Victoria: Yes, but that’s because you were dating ashley. And like you said earlier, I mean, we were young and naive, and we– we didn’t always make the best choices. But when I told neil, he wanted to get married and he wanted to raise you as his own.

Claire: Did he really love you that much? Or was he just so generous to raise someone else’s child?

[ Victoria chuckles ]

Victoria: That is just the kind of man that he was. And if it had come to pass, you wouldn’t have been to him just someone else’s child. You would have been his.

Cole: And when I found out, I absolutely wanted to raise you as my daughter.

Victoria: Then, my appendix burst, and I was rushed to the hospital, and you were born.

Cole: And we thought that you had passed.

Victoria: And our grief drowned out anything else that had happened up to that point.

Nikki: I’m glad claire is learning about neil.

Victor: Yeah. You know, when I think of him, naming the lounge after neil was a wonderful idea. Keeps his name in everyone’s memory.

Nikki: Well, abby gets all the credit for that.

Victor: Yes.

Nikki: And you know, I do think that the dedication that we did at the gala really helped mend things between devon and lily. And neil would have been very pleased about that. Now, his children, his grandchildren have a place to go to remember him. And we all do. I– I miss him every day.

Victor: Yeah.

Nikki: Especially at our aa meetings, but you know, I– I do feel his presence here. I mean, this room feels very, very warm and inviting. And… [ Exhales ] …It’s a relief to feel almost safe somewhere other than the ranch, you know?

Victoria: Are you worried about an uninvited guest?

Summer: You don’t think that jordan woman would show up here?

Nikki: Oh, no, no, no. She wouldn’t dare. No, and besides, we have our security detail. I am not going to let her get to me anymore. I am going to enjoy this family night out as best I can. After I powdered my nose. Excuse me.

Victor: Here, sweetheart.

Victoria: Uh, dad, mom seems a little skittish. Do you think maybe I should go with her?

Victor: Oh, just give her some time, okay?

Cole: May I have this dance?

Claire: Go ahead. I’ve never seen my parents dance.

Cole: Go?

Victoria: Yeah.

Chance: You want to take another spin?

Summer: Thought you’d never ask.

Claire: I saw you talking to summer. She thinks I’m a monster like jordan, doesn’t she?

Victor: If I were you, I wouldn’t worry about that. Because you will win over your cousin just like you have the rest of us.

Victoria: I’m sorry if bringing up neil to claire opened up old wounds.

Cole: I’m not. It’s good for her to see that people can change.

Victoria: She really has come so far.

Cole: We all have. And I don’t think we’d make the same mistakes today that we made back then.

Upbeat music

Victor: Thank you, simone. There you are.

Nikki: Well, it touches my heart to see your parents dancing.

Victor: Doesn’t it?

Claire: Yeah, they just fit, don’t they?

Victoria: Thank you for the dance.

Cole: Anytime.

Summer: Do we have to stop?

Chance: We can just sit here and sway in silence. That’d be kind of weird.

Summer: Weirder than making small talk with my new cousin?

Chance: Come on.

[ Summer groaning ] Come on.

Victor: And now… let’s all raise a glass. To see all of you together here makes me very happy, okay? So to family. And to the anniversary of my marriage to the love of my life. Cheers.

All: Cheers.

Audra: You know, the fact that you want us to make this commitment, the happily ever after of it all–

Tucker: Yeah, that’s what we deserve.

Audra: Yeah, but that’s a fairy tale. And we’re no prince and princess.

Tucker: Says who?

Audra: Every fiber in my being. And yours too, if you’re being honest with yourself. Look, like I said, tucker, we work because we aren’t traditional. Trying to fit into a conventional love story, it would break us. Hey. You want every day with me? You have it.

Tucker: Ah.

Audra: An endless adventure, I am all in. But just please, no labels or documents. No tiaras or– or diamonds, okay? Just you and me, that’s it.

Tucker: You sound almost superstitious about it. Like a– a marriage certificate would be the death knell.

Audra: For us? There is no doubt in my mind.

Tucker: Hm, and are you sure you’re not being swayed by all this drama with ashley?

Audra: No, I swear that’s not it. We’re in a good place, you and me. A great place. Now, was that a kiss of rejection or intense love?

Tucker: I think I need another one just to– just to try to figure it out.

Audra: Well, you’ll get plenty of that later. I am late to meet sally for a drink.

[ Tucker imitates sobbing ]

Tucker: You’re such a tease.

Audra: And that’s why you love me. See you later.

Tucker: Adios.

Jack: So, how did ashley say she was going to handle this?

Traci: Well, she didn’t, really. I suggested that she see a doctor, and one moment she was in agreement, she was terrified about the blackouts and really, really concerned about what was happening with her. And the next moment, she brushed everything off, and said there was nothing to worry about.

Billy: So, what changed her mind?

Traci: Nothing changed, just her attitude. We– we’ve got to step in. We’ve got to help her.

[ Door bangs closed ]

Ashley: Oh, dear, look at these faces, so grim. Who died?

Daniel: Well, I wanted to do this civilly, have a conversation about it, appeal to your better nature, but I guess, if you’re going to take a hard line, then, well, you leave me no choice.

Lily: What’s that supposed to mean?

Daniel: I’m going to be suing chancellor-winters for wrongful termination, and I’m going to demand that I get to keep whatever I want from omegasphere, the platform that I created.

[ Lily laughing ]

Lily: I mean, you can go ahead and try, but your contract is ironclad.

Daniel: I wouldn’t be so sure about that. You see, heather is going to represent me. She rarely loses, so, um… get ready for a fight. (Vo) welcome to lobsterfest. Is your party ready?

Victor: I thought it was a wonderful evening. I certainly hope that it provided some escape for you, my baby.

Nikki: Yes, it did. We never did get around to making any plans for the party.

Victor: It’ll be a wonderful party. Celebrating all our years together, and our years to come.

Nikki: You know, we didn’t eat anything at the lounge and I am starving.

Victor: Yes.

Nikki: Do you think you could ask the chef to make us a light supper?

Victor: That’s a great idea. I’ll be right back.

Nikki: Thank you.

Victor: Good idea.

Nikki: Just a sip at a time. Just to get me through tonight. And then ’til the party. And until jordan is caught. Then, I’ll be able to fight this. For now, it’s slow and steady. A sip at a time. A day at a time. I can do that. No one will have any idea.

Summer: Thank you for being a good sport and hanging out with my family. Even my new cousin. What? You want to say something.

Chance: No, it’s just– look, I got a good sense of people.

Summer: All right, what is your spidey sense telling you about claire?

Chance: That she’s trying very hard to get over her past, and to reach out to you. Seems like she wants a friend. Now, is it that hard for you to give her a chance?

Victoria: Thank you for bringing us home.

Cole: Hey, well, you know, thank you for including me with the night.

Claire: Yeah, it was almost a perfect night.

Victoria: Almost?

Claire: I get the sense that summer isn’t wild about me. Victor says I can win her over, but I’m not so sure. I hate the idea of having enemies in the family.

Victoria: No, I’m sure that summer won’t be an enemy.

Cole: You know, I think she just needs to spend more time with you to see just how great you are.

Claire: Well, I’m willing to try. But I can’t think of anything better than getting into my new bed right now. So, good night.

Victoria: Good night, sweetheart.

Cole: Night.

Claire: Night.

Cole: Well, uh, I should go, and let you turn in.

Victoria: Yeah, okay. Ah, well, um, thank you for coming tonight.

Cole: Yeah, well, thanks for the dance.

Victoria: Yeah, I haven’t done that in such a long time. It was nice.

Cole: It was nice.

Traci: Actually, we were just discussing our concern for you, ashley.

Ashley: So, you betrayed me. I told you something in confidence, and you just turned around, and blabbed away.

Traci: I am so worried about you. It was a secret I couldn’t keep. We can’t keep ignoring what’s going on with you. Your behavior is a cry for help.

Ashley: So, is that what this is? It’s a– it’s a sad excuse for an intervention?

Jack: It seems your condition is more serious than we knew.

Ashley: Ah, I have a condition now. How fascinating. So, I’m not allowed to have any kind of conflicted feelings or concerns at all? If I voice any kind of doubts or anything, that all of you think that I’m falling apart?

Jack: No, no one is saying that. If you’re having memory issues, if you’re blacking out, you need to see a doctor.

Billy: And I hope you can understand, we all have your best interest at heart.

Traci: All we want to do is help.

[ Doorbell rings ]

Billy: I got it.

Ashley: Okay, so this is how you help, by gathering together like this?

Jack: Let’s just–

[ Ashley scoffs ]

Ashley: Well, now, isn’t this just peachy? The gang’s all here.

Finn: Morning.

Steffy: Morning. Here.

Finn: Thank you.

Steffy: Hey. Should’ve woken me up when you got in.

Finn: Well, it was a late shift.

Steffy: Yeah. But we still haven’t talked about, you know, sheila’s memorial. So how was it? Did you feel like you got some closure?

Finn: Yeah. And thanks again for being so understanding.

Steffy: Well, I wasn’t gonna stand in the way. So now it’s finally over, huh?

Finn: You’re amazing. You know that?

Steffy: I love hearing you say that. So you and deacon weren’t the only ones at the memorial? Hope was there too?

Zende: You sure you don’t wanna reschedule the meeting?

Rj: Yeah, it’d be understandable considering you went to sheila’s memorial yesterday.

Hope: I think it will be fine. I was there to support my dad.

Rj: And how is he?

Hope: Grieving. Losing her the way that he did, the way that sheila died, was difficult for him to process. I think he really believed that sheila had changed.

Zende: Too bad she didn’T. But at least we don’t have to worry about sheila being a threat anymore.

Hope: While I appreciate the concern, I didn’t ask you here to discuss sheila’s memorial. I assume that you have heard that thomas has relocated to paris for the time being?

Zende: We did.

Luna: Yeah, just tell us what you need.

Rj: We’re here for you.

Hope: Thank you. Um, as you may or may not know, thomas proposed again and I did not accept. So he has left. And I don’t exactly know what that means quite yet, both personally and professionally. But his absence is quite a bit of a loss. So I am counting on you all to really step up. We’re gonna have to rally together and work as a team.

Finn: Yeah, hope was there to support her father.

Steffy: So it was just you two and deacon?

Finn: Yeah. Yeah, it was a pretty simple ceremony. It was actually pretty eye-opening. I didn’t think I realized how much deacon really cared about sheila. She was important to him and he misses her. He’s just– he’s having difficulty accepting that she’s really gone.

Hollis: Uh, boss? You okay?

Deacon: What?

Hollis: You hanging in there after the memorial yesterday? I mean, I know that’s pretty overwhelming stuff, saying goodbye to someone you care so much about.

Deacon: No. No, I’m not all right, hollis. I’m not all right at all. (Vo) you might be used to living with your albuterol asthma

Zende: Thomas was the lead designer, but… you’re the heart and soul of this line, hope.

Rj: You always have been, sis.

Hope: Well, I’ll need your help to put out a new collection.

Luna: I’m happy to pitch in whatever you need.

Hope: Well, hope for the future is this company’s youngest line, and you are the youngest generation of forrester creations. You are all brilliant and talented, and I am very excited about what we can achieve together. But in order to do so, we’re really, really going to have to step up. You ready for that?

Rj: Absolutely.

Zende: Hope for the future is my number one priority.

Luna: I mean, I know I still have a lot to learn, but I’m super thrilled to be on the team.

Hope: Oh, no, no, no, actually, luna, you are going to be a very big part of this. I mean, after you worked so closely with rj on eric’s collection, you impressed a lot of people, and so I think it’s time to give you a little more responsibility. Look, I don’t see this as a setback. I see it as an opportunity. A chance to try something new. And luna, I envision you working very closely with zende.

Steffy: Yeah, I don’t have a lot of sympathy for deacon. I mean, this is the man who harbored the woman who tried to kill us.

Finn: Hmm.

Steffy: And I get sheila’s death has taken a toll on deacon. And you too, but, um…

Finn: Hey, it’s– it’s been rough on all of us.

Steffy: Yeah. But now we can finally move on.

Finn: I am. And I’m sorry I can’t explain it. This tie to sheila was deeper than I realized. Hey, thank you for giving me the space to… not exactly grieve her, but just to acknowledge what I lost.

Steffy: Well, you’re my husband and I’m gonna support you. No matter what, okay? Hey, sheila didn’t come between us when she was alive. She’s not gonna come between us now.

Hollis: What happened? Did the memorial not go as you had hoped? Did anyone show?

Deacon: Finn and hope.

Hollis: That’s great. That’s what you wanted, right? To have family there?

Deacon: Yeah.

Hollis: It’s hard to believe she’s really gone.

Deacon: You’re telling me.

Deacon: How did you convince everyone that you’re dead?

Sheila: When it comes to faking my own death, I take it very seriously. Yeah, I may have had to rip out some of my hair, tear my clothes. And a pint of my blood, but I had to make it look like a bear really did maul me. You know, I– I knew that… that none of that was gonna be enough. Especially not for ridge and the forresters. I knew that they would need more, so I– I gave it to them. Desperate times call for desperate measures, right?

Deacon: You cut off your own toe.

[ Sheila laughs ] Are you seeing things? Or did you really see ten toes? Because if you saw ten toes, then that cannot be sheila. Breathing claritin clear

Luna: Uh, you want me working with zende?

Hope: Yes. While you and rj are a great team, I mean, what you did for eric was extraordinary. Um, what we do here is a little different from couture. It’s more about self expression.

Zende: In couture, you make an entrance, in hope for the future you make an impact.

Hope: Exactly. And zende already has his finger on the pulse of our collection, what makes it work. I mean, his designs have been very important for our success. And rj, while I’m looking forward to what you bring to the table, zende just has a little more experience and seasoned talent to take over for thomas.

Zende: Uh, thank you for the opportunity. Wow.

Hope: I know you, uh, you’ll make the most of it. I– I don’t exactly know how things are going to work out. There is a lot of– there are a lot of things up in the air in my life right now. But I do know that hope for the future is in good hands. I mean, we have fresh faces, some new talent, and I believe that we will make the most of this opportunity. And I know you’ll bring out the best in each other. So luna, like I was saying before, I would really love it if you could work closely with zende. You know, stay by his side, absorb all of his knowledge. I mean, zende pretty much grew up in this industry. He learned from the best of the best, so I’m sure he has plenty of secrets to share.

Zende: I brought you some coffee.

Luna: Zende? Wait, what are you doing here?

Zende: I live here.

Luna: Wait, where’s rj?

Zende: I– I don’t know, luna, but he’s definitely not here.

Luna: Rj and I are in love. And I waited, and it was perfect, and what now I wake up here in this bed with you? I mean, what have I done?

Zende: Are you still considering telling rj?

Luna: Yeah, I mean, I think about it every day. Every second that I don’t say anything feels like a lie. And look, I’m not doing this to protect myself. I’m doing it to protect you and your relationship with your cousin.

Finn: Thank you for your patience and your understanding. Sheila has put a strain on us and our marriage.

Steffy: Yeah, I despise that woman. Everything she did to us, what she made me do. But I’m not gonna let anything or anyone come between us, okay?

Finn: Yeah, okay. It never will.

Steffy: We proved it again.

Finn: Yeah, yeah, we did. And I wish we didn’t have to face these challenges over and over. Sheila’s death has been difficult, but hey, we don’t have to worry about her anymore.

Steffy: I know. We can finally put sheila behind us and move on.

[ Cell phone rings ]

Finn: Hmm, deacon? Deacon, hey, uh, what’s up?

Deacon: Finn, where are you?

Finn: I’m– I’m with steffy.

Deacon: Um, listen, I need to see you. It’s urgent.

Finn: Why, what’s wrong?

Deacon: I can’t tell you on the phone.

Finn: You can’t tell me what this is about?

Deacon: It’s about your birth mother. It’s about sheila. I’m at the restaurant. Please get down here as quick as you can.

Finn: Yeah, I’ll be over there as soon as I can.

Steffy: What’s going on?

Finn: I don’t know. Deacon sounds upset.

Steffy: About what? Let me guess, sheila.

Finn: I don’t know, um… he wants me to go down to il giardino, and… no, look, hey, I don’t– just– let me deal with this as fast as I can. But look, hey, there’s no need to worry anymore, right? There’s no more fear. This might be the last time we ever have to talk about sheila. I’ll be right back.

Steffy: Okay.

[ Steffy sighs ]

Deacon: It can’t be… it can’t be. It can’t be. It can’t be.

Bother the bugs.

Hope: I hope I didn’t, uh, catch you too off guard with that.

Rj: You’re the boss, sis. It’s your call.

Hope: All right. Look, I know you enjoy working with luna, and you will be, I promise. I just think her spending time with zende will be very beneficial for her and her future.

Zende: You okay? I had no idea that hope was gonna have us working so closely together.

Luna: Yeah. No, I mean, um, I meant what I said. You know, I’m happy to pitch in and help out in thomas’ absence, but… look, it’s– it’s nothing personal, okay? You’re a great guy and a super talented designer, but it’s complicated. The night that we shared together?

Zende: There’s no reason for it to interfere with our work.

Luna: But I’m lying to rj. He doesn’t even know that we slept together, and keeping this secret is absolutely killing me. And the guilt is worse and worse every day, and working together is just gonna make that even harder.

Zende: I hate to see you struggle like this. It’s a messed up situation, but it’s not your fault.

Luna: I didn’t know what I was doing that night, but I do now. And I decided to lie to him, and I can’t do it. I mean, how am I supposed to show up to work every single day with this secret that’s eating me up inside? I can’t do it, okay? Rj needs to know what happened. He deserves to know the truth.

Finn: Sheila’s death’s been difficult, but hey, we don’t have to worry about her anymore.

[Breathing heavily]

Finn: Hey.

Deacon: Hey. Thanks for getting here so fast.

Finn: What’s going on?

Deacon: This is– it’s crazy. It doesn’t make any sense.

Finn: Okay. Well, you said it was urgent. Was it something to do with sheila?

Deacon: Um, man, I don’t know.

Finn: Okay, okay. Let’s just take a breath here. You’re all– you’re all wound up.

Deacon: You have no idea.

Finn: Okay, well, look, this is– this is normal, okay? The memorial service, it was… no, it got me too, you know? ‘Cause a lot of things came up. It’s been an emotional time. But, look, you— I’ve got to put this behind me, okay? Do you understand that? Steffy, she– she has been just incredible through all of this, but we can’t forget about the shooting. Trying to destroy our family. Every time sheila’s name comes up, it takes a toll on her. And I’m not gonna burden my wife with that, deacon, okay? I love her too much. So whatever– whatever this is, you need to just tell me so I can put sheila in the past once and for all. For steffy’s sake and for mine.

Deacon: Look, I get it. I get it. I want that for you, finn.

Finn: Okay, well, I think it would be good for you too. Okay? You– deacon. You need to let this go. Now. You cared about my mother. You were there for her. You gave her a respectful send-off. Even went to the crematorium.

Deacon: Yeah. Yeah, I wanted to stay with her as long as I could.

Finn: Yeah, you did everything that you could. More than most people would. Deacon, it’s— it’s over, okay? I know it’s hard to accept, but sheila’s dead.

Deacon: What if she’s not, finn? What if the person that I saw being cremated wasn’t sheila?

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

Hmm. So, everything here is on my special diet, huh? Definitely. You want oatmeal? Wheat toast? Fresh fruit? Would you like some tea? Black coffee? Hmm. What I would like is a bear claw. Well, you’ll be able to have your bear claws very soon, my dear. I know, I know. And I don’t mean to complain. In fact, I am sorry.

I’m very, very grateful that this wonderful treatment exists and the only reason that I’m not looking forward to it has Nothing to do with food or even having no one to talk to for a few days. Oh What’s oh, it’s gonna be hard for me since in case you haven’t noticed I do like to talk I noticed Oh, no.

The reason I’m dreading the treatment is that I hate being away from you, Abraham, or, uh, for even one minute.

Hey, what are you doing here? What is that? The key to the Horton cabin. Sarah gave it to me. We are starting our mini honeymoon today. Today. Like, like now? Today. Yeah. A few cozy days away from it all. Just the two of us. Yeah. There’s just one problem after work, you know that. Oh, right, right. Um, well, I guess our mini honeymoon will just have to wait then.

I’m sorry. That’s okay. It’s your job. I get it. Thank you for understanding. Sure. I

don’t believe this. Stefan DiMera confessed to running illegal drugs out of the Bistro Cafe. Demira is currently behind bars? What the hell?

No, this spectator did not get an exclusive because it is run by Demira. My office will be releasing a statement as soon as possible today. You can follow up with my communications officer. Okay. Good morning. Holly. Yeah? Look, I know you’re upset about being punished. But you chose to do drugs, and then you decided to lie to us about it.

Excuse me, you’ve never lied? Everyone makes mistakes. But this needs to be a lesson learned. Hmm. Okay, well, if everyone makes mistakes, how’s it fair that Tate and I can’t see each other anymore? We’ve already been over this. That was Tate’s parents decision, and under the circumstances, I can’t say that I blame them.

Look, I know that you think you want to be with Tate right now, but I believe in time you’ll realize that this separation is for the best. You want to know what I really think? I think you blew everything out of proportion right from the beginning, arresting Tate when there was no real reason to. So guess what?

This is all your fault, EJ.

So? How was it? Your first day back at work? Uh, it felt good. Getting back to normal. Yeah. But, uh, what about you? Have you decided when you’re going back? I’m not sure. Rafe left it up to me. That’s very generous. Yeah. Okay. That’s good. You mind telling me what we’re doing out here? I’ll show you. It is pretty chilly out.

They say a storm’s coming in soon. Oh, that’s okay. We’re gonna work up a sweat. What are those for? You’re gonna punch me.

Hello? Well, hello there, little lady. I’ll bet you thought you were rid of me, huh? What do you want? Well, I want you to listen up. Okay, no, you listen to me. You almost killed my son and his girlfriend, so unless you have called to tell me where you are so I can come slit your throat and just watch you bleed out, I got nothing to say to you anymore.

Good gracious, such hostility. Take a chill pill, mama. Word on the street is your little boy’s doing just fine. Now, unless you want me to disavow Stefan’s mere culprit confession to the police, I suggest you just sit back and listen to what I have to say. Now, I just finished reading this morning’s news.

Uh, Stephan DiMera arrested, blah, blah, yeah. Here we go. The DiMera heir is currently behind bars awaiting arraignment. His ex business partner at the bistro, Ava Vitali, declined comment. Um, ex partner Ava? I don’t think so. Because I have one little more job I need you to do for me.

Like sand through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives.

You want me to run your new drug empire? You used to run bangs for the Philly mob, didn’t you? That was a long time ago. I’m going straight. Trying to put my life back together in that. Starts with getting a legitimate job. Well, I’ll set you up with a legitimate job, all right? That’s not a problem. I got connections at the bistro.

You still there? Yeah. Good. You know, for a second there, I thought maybe you hung up on me. I’m here. Well, you’re a smart lady. Look, the bistro closed. I got forced out because of everything that went down. Well, you better force your way back in. Look, I don’t know or care how you and your robo cop boyfriend got Stefan to take the fall, but we both know that you’re far from innocent on this.

So if you want to keep flying under the radar, you’d best do what I tell you to do.

Punch you? Come on, put the gloves on. Physical activity is great for working off nerves and stress. You know, against the endorphins flowing. Hmm. Okay. Look, Wendy After what we went through, I mean, it’s no surprise that we have PTSD. And so it might be good for us to work some of our feelings out in a physical way that’s perfectly safe.

Okay, but boxing? I’ve never done it before. I mean, either, but I’ve always wanted to give it a try. You know, I was thinking more like jogging. But I guess I could give boxing a try. All right, cool. Let’s do this.

You are one sneaky fella. Oh, me? Uh huh. My second in command was wondering why I even showed up when I am supposed to be on my mini honeymoon today. Okay, okay, I admit I did speak to some of your staff and they agreed to cover you for the next few days. Okay, well that was good of them, but Johnny, it’s not right.

What? Of course it is. Look, Dee. Adore you. And I also conspired with them on your behalf to pay them time and a half while we’re gone. Don’t worry, I’ll cover it. Okay, that was very generous of you and really, really thoughtful, but But? What? You don’t want to go? No, no, I really want to go. Like, so much, but We’ll just go.

Mama, you know, she starts her treatment today. Which is why I scheduled this for right now, because she’s gonna have to be in isolation. You’re not gonna be able to be with her for the next few days, and I figured that you’re gonna want to spend as much time with her as possible once she’s no longer radioactive.

That’s true. And the Horton cabin is fairly close in case you have to come back here for any reason, which you won’t because everything’s gonna be fine with your mom with sweet bits. Well, how do I say no to that? Well, I’ll tell you. You can’t. And I promise you that this is going to be the best time ever, Mrs.

DiMera. Well, I already know that, Mr. Dupree. Because I’m going to be alone in a cabin with the sexiest husband in the world.

Yes, Mr. Shin, I have everything under control. I know the story’s out. Stefan was arrested and is incarcerated. I realize it’s not a good look for the company, but I just want to EJ! No. Mr. Shin, I promise you, you have my word. I’ll handle it. And furthermore Hello? You know what? I don’t believe this. Our brother is in jail on drug charges, and I have to find out about it in The Spectator.

Yes. What the hell?

One of my brothers locks up my other brother and my youngest brother Publishes a story about it and no one thinks to tell me get a grip Krista. Okay, you know what? I’d love to get a grip I’d love to get a grip around all three of your necks Stefan was running the company. Where the hell does that leave DiMera Enterprises?

Incapable hands. Look, you have nothing to worry about, and I have to run, so if you’ll excuse me. Oh, oh, nothing to worry about except the family business going under!

Dad! Oh, sorry son, I’m in a bit of a rush. Oh, hey, I just, uh, wait, I just, uh, I wanted to let you know that Chanel and I are going to be out of town for the next couple of days. We’re headed out to the Horton cabin for a mini honeymoon. That’s great, that’s long overdue. Oh, wait a second, I also wanted to ask you about Uncle Stefan, he’s in jail.

What the heck? You two, do you even care? Yeah, of course I do, he’s my uncle. And he was supplying the drugs that nearly got Holly killed. What? Look, everything is fine and taken care of, okay? So don’t worry. So please go enjoy your honeymoon. You both deserve some time off, okay? Oh my god. Oh my god, Tripp, are you okay?

Oh, I’m so sorry. I was aiming for the mitts. I guess I just went a little overboard. No, no, no. It’s okay. It’s okay. You, uh Mean right hook, though. You sure you’ve never done this before? Well, I studied taekwondo for about eight years. I’m a brown belt. Oh, well. But no, I’ve never punched anyone before. Well, I think you’re ready for the black belt, just saying.

Remind me to never get in a fight with you. Well, taekwondo. Is about kindness, forgiveness, building a peaceful world, not fighting. Good to know. Your turn. You know, uh, more than I think about it, uh, jockeying doesn’t sound that bad of an idea.

Then I’ll race ya.

Oh, I don’t care about flying under the radar. You want to tell someone that I was just as involved as Stefan? Go right ahead. It’s gonna be his word against yours. And I would rather park my ass in jail than ever do anything with you again. Is that so? I’m hanging up now. Do not call me back. What would Sweetie Pie Harris say if he knew how I got out of prison?

Yeah, that caught your attention, didn’t it? Love it like that. That’s a hard thing to give up when all I’m asking is just one itty bitty favor. Uh uh. No, I’m not doing it. I am not laundering your money. I am not your distribution hub. Well, who said anything about that? No, this job is easy peasy. Listen up.

Gil hid a little black book at the bistro. Inside that book. Is all the info on my suppliers and my dealers. There is no digital trail on me. Everything is in that book in pen and ink. Now, I need you to get that book to me. That book needs to be placed in my hands and no one else’s. And I mean no one.

Comprende? Now, I ain’t asking you to kill nobody or kidnap them or Or even betray your little PI friends. At least, not to their faces. But that little book is the only trail back to me. So, if you get it to me, here’s what I’ll do. I’ll pick up and move my operations elsewhere. You’ll never have to hear from me again.

Ava. Speak to me.

This is the last thing I will ever do for you. And then I’m out. Absolutely, Ava. Absolutely.

Finished! You? Not quite. Oh, you are strict. You need your strength for this treatment. I need my strength to sit all alone twiddling my thumb.

Happy now? Very. Now, don’t worry. You’re going to be able to eat all your favorite foods again. I know, I know. Mama. Oh, oh, my sweet baby girl. I brought you some treats. Oh, you’re an angel. But, uh, Oh, um, Chanel, honey, bear claws aren’t on the approved food list. Well, mama, you underestimate me because these are made with non iodized salt.

So, you’re all good. Oh, really? Oh, wait, wait, wait. Uh, uh, uh, are they made with iodate dough conditioners? Definitely not. Oh! Ha ha ha! Good amyloid! Mmm! Okay, uh, well, I have to run, but I will have my phone on me 24 7, so if you need me to come back, you just call me. Okay? Come back? From where? Oh, yeah, I forgot that little detail.

Johnny and I are going to the Horton Family Cabin for, like, a little mini honeymoon. Oh! How exciting! But, but if you want me to stay, I’ll stay. Ah, ah, ah, no, no, no, no. I’ll go. I insist. Oh, and you bundle up because it’s gonna get cold later. Oh, well, I’m sure they’ll find a way to keep warm. Ah, ah, ah. Ah, ah, ah.

Ah, ah, ah. Ooh, ooh. Ah, ah, ah. Ah, ah, ah. Ah, ah. So, some spring break, right? Yeah, it was a total waste. I’m so not ready to go back to school. Yeah, me neither, but we don’t really have a choice. There is one good thing, and it’s our parents can’t keep us separated while we’re there. I know, right? So, how about we make a pact?

What do you mean? Okay, um, let’s agree to find each other between periods. And we’ll hold hands in the halls and talk. And then, and then for lunch we’ll find a really private, secret space to, you know, be together. With no one staring at us or anything. I have the perfect spot, under the oak tree at the far end of the quad.

Yes, that’s perfect. But, in the meantime The

gardeners? Hey, why don’t we sneak up to my room before anyone sees us? And I’ll be sure to lock the door this time. Yeah, yeah, I’m down. Let’s just make sure the coast is clear.

Hey!

Holly! Hi. Uh oh. I’ve heard that tone before. What’s wrong? Nothing. Except that I literally have no life. And I already know what you’re gonna say. That I’m overreacting. Feeling sorry for myself. Oh, fuck. I’m not going to say that, because I have no idea what you’re even talking about. Um, Tate and I are not allowed to see each other anymore.

Ah, damn. That sucks. Yeah, tell me about it. Oh, and just so you know, I’m not in love with Tate. In case, like, anyone tries to tell you I am. Nobody’s told me that. Good, because I’m not. Okay, got it. I, I do really like him though. I mean, he’s a good guy. But it doesn’t matter because my mother and stepdad number three have decided we’re toxic for each other.

And like, they’re not. Sorry Johnny, I know EJ’s your dad and all, but I think him and my mom are a total mismatch. Well, I don’t know about that. But I am sorry to hear about you and Tate, that you can’t hang out with each other anymore. Me too. Bye. It’s my fault, really. I made such a mess out of everything.

Look, Holly, you messed up. Okay, we all do it. And now you’re paying the consequences. And pretty soon, this is going to be nothing but a bad memory for you. Okay? Um, hey, look, I hate to do this, but Chanel is gonna be here any minute. We’re getting away for the weekend, so I’m out. I kind of need to go back.

Yeah, I know. Totally. I’m really happy for you guys. You love each other so much. I hope I can find that one day. You will. You will. But don’t rush it, okay? You’ve got loads of time, okay? And hey, when we get back, if you still want to talk, I’m available. No judgment, okay? Okay, thanks Johnny. Have a good time.

Thanks. Holly? It’s me, girl! Hi! Hi, you busy?

You want to paint nails like we used to? Uh, yeah, let’s do it. Come on, let’s go get our mani pedi bag. Oh. You beat me by like 10 seconds. No, I slowed down so you wouldn’t choke on my dust. Or I caught up because of my lightning speed. Oh, nice try. You want some water? Yeah, please. Oh

my god, did you see this? What? The Spectator article about Stefan O’Meara. He confessed to running drugs out of the bistro. He’s in jail. Does it say anything about my mom? Just that his ex business partner declined comment. Hey. Mom. What’s wrong? You okay? Yeah, I’m fine, but you’ve got some explaining to do.

What’s, what’s going on? Mom, why would Seven confess? Beats me. I thought you were both forced into this shady stuff. I thought you were both threatened by Clyde. Yeah, we were. I guess He felt so guilty about what happened to the two of you. That doesn’t sound like Stefan. Who cares, right? I mean, this is great.

I mean, you can finally put all this stuff behind you. Yeah, absolutely. Yep, I’m going to, uh, make a fresh start, starting with quitting the bistro. You’re quitting? Yeah. I already did. Too much bad luck and too many bad memories. Again, a fresh start. And that includes finding a new place to live.

How’s this? Impressive. Very unique. My mom says I’m one of a kind. But you definitely are. So how’s school going? What’s your favorite subject? Lunch. Mine too. You were always good at math though. I remember when I was your tutor. It’s okay. I like reading better. Reading’s fun.

Okay, we’re taking off. Where are you going? On a much needed honeymoon. Aw, well, you guys have a great time. We will

all, I’m tapping away.

Mm. I am going to miss you. Oh. Oh. Not as much as I’m going to miss you, and I’m going through this procedure knowing that you are gonna be at home waiting for me, . And that you remember our history again? Oh. It comforts me so, knowing that you love me now, then, and always. And with all my heart.

You’re moving out. Newlyweds need their space. We’re not Exactly newlyweds. Well, I heard you exchanged vows. Wendy Shin, with my whole heart, I take you as my wife. I promise to respect you as a person, as a partner, and an equal. You know, before you came along, I wasn’t sure I believed in finding the one. And, uh, relationships brought me a lot of heartache, a lot of pain.

And now I know that things just didn’t work out in the past because fate was just sending me to you. Tripp Johnson,

with all my heart I take you as my husband. And I promise to be by your side, to learn with you, to encourage you. To respect you and accept you. We are equals. We’re friends. We’re lovers.

And now we’re husband and wife.

And I vow to love you and to cherish you with all my being. Till I draw my very last breath on this earth.

You gonna make it official? Maybe, but uh, for now our vows are on the back burner. Yeah, we’re just happy being together. Okay, well still, you two need your space. You don’t have to do this alone. Please, I nearly got you guys killed. Okay. Look, you guys have been too generous. You’ve let me stay way too long.

I just think moving out on my own is going to be the best for everyone.

Well, well, not the Ritz, but it’s pleasant enough. Well, it’s only for a couple of days. And then I’ll be, I’ll be back at home. But still having to stay a few feet away from everybody. Strange how a little tiny pill can radiate for days. Oh. Hello, Mayor. Former Mayor. Good to see you, Dr. Johnson. Good to see you guys as well.

You know, we’re so relieved that you and Wendy were rescued. Thank you. What a horrifying ordeal. It was, it was, but, you know, we’re, we’re doing okay now and we’re feeling very lucky. Oh, as am I. Yeah, I heard you had, uh, quite the ordeal yourself while I was away, but with a really happy ending. Well, you know, we are all, we’re all very blessed.

Yeah, we sure are. Well, I think, uh, we should get you started. Okay, and, uh, but one thing, though. There is something I have to ask all my female patients. Uh, is there any chance you might be pregnant? Oh, ha! Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. Oh. Um. Are you gonna card me for alcohol, too? Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. I’ll take that as a no.

Boy, I’m big. I’m being this big. Okay, then we should be good to go. Alright, we’re gonna take you to a special room to take the radioactive pill, and then you’ll be brought back here to stay until the doctors give you the green light to leave, okay? Okay, um, before we, uh, go to the special room, can my husband and I just have a minute?

Sure. I’ll send the nurse to come get you in about ten minutes. Are

you going to do this every time we show up at a new place? Every single time. Wow. Wow. This place is really charming, isn’t it? It’s cozy. Private. Which means that we can be as loud as we want. Unlike Che DiMera. Well, that is a definite selling point. I wonder when was the last time anyone was here? Oh, well, judging by the firewood, quite a while.

So, I’m going to go outside and bring us some back in. Oh my god. Are you gonna chop down firewood to keep me warm? I am so turned on right now. Well, in that case, I won’t mention that Sarah told me there’s a wood pile outside. Yeah, definitely don’t mention that. Okay. Okay. All right, I’m gonna go chop some manly wood.

Woman, don’t worry, I’ll be back in two shakes of a lamp still.

Hey, Missy. What’s with the face? Do you like boys? Some of them. I don’t. I’m never getting married. Oh, yeah? Well, you don’t have to. What do you want to be when you grow up? A vet. No. A pilot. Wait! A professional scuba diver. To study sea animals. That sounds like fun. So you like animals, huh? Me too.

Rachel! Go upstairs. Why? Because I said so. Don’t you want me to paint your nails? Rachel! Now!

What the hell are you doing? We were just hanging out, that’s all. Well, not anymore. Do you understand? You stay away from my daughter.

Did you hear me? You stay away from Rachel. We were just doing manicures. That’s all. Like we used to. Like you used to. Well you used to not do drugs back then. I’m not doing drugs anymore. Oh Holly, is that just another lie? Like you lied about doing drugs before and let Tate take the fall? That boy was like a son to me.

Not to mention that he is Rachel’s half brother. How do you think she is gonna feel when she finds out what you did to him? You know what? Rachel and I No! No, no, no. There is no Rachel in you anymore. And unfortunately, we live in the same house. But mark my words, if I find you seeing her again, you will regret it.

Hey! That’s enough! You will not talk to her like that anymore! You know what? Rachel and Holly, they were getting down Oh, they were doing what? Doing their nails, listening to Cannibal Corpse? Are you serious? Okay, you know what? Rachel is my daughter, and I will decide who she spends time with. Oh, that is rich coming from you, considering your villainous history with Brady and Teresa, Malena, Eric, just to name a few.

Would you like me to list your villainous history? You know what? Get off your high horse, EJ. Okay. Oh,

that woman makes my blood boil. I, I’m sorry I lost my temper. I’m not. Thanks for having my back. You’re welcome. Um, if my sister gives you any more trouble, just let me know, alright? Okay. So, I

was, uh, thinking, you need help looking for a new place. Oh, I can manage. Eva, you really don’t have to go. You’ve been really good to me, Wendy. I appreciate it.

Okay, the fire. So we should start to warm up in here soon. Might take a little while, though. Well, you know, I have an idea of how we could speed that up. Oh, you do?

I will love you forever, my husband. I will love you forever, my beautiful wife. And dream a life Dream a life

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

dillon as requested, the best table in the house. Thank you. Here you go. And your waitress will be right with you. Taking me out to celebrate. Only the best for my lovely bride tonight. Happy anniversary. Just a little bit early. Man, early, late. Every single day with you is a celebration. -Hi. -Hi. Everything okay? Fine. I just thought you might want to know your daughter’s here with her husband. Oh, kristina, hi. Ava. Hi. Uh, I just came to see my dad. Um, is he here? Yeah. He — he’s here, but he’s not really available. He’s resting. I’ll tell him you came by, though. Um…no. I’m actually — I’m just gonna wait for him because I really need to speak to him tonight, so… who’s that? Hey! Hey. Just what I need — a visit from one of my favorite daughters. One of? Well, you know, definitely top three.

[Chuckles]

[ Cellphone rings ] Drew. Hi. Hey, carly. Wow, it’s really great to hear your voice. And yours. Look, I’m calling because i need to get in touch with jason, and I don’t have a way to reach him. Oh, well, I mean, he has a phone now. I can give you his number. You know what? Just — just give him a message, please. Tell him that I got a little visit from the fbi this afternoon. Thank you, and thank you for meeting me in the parking lot. This isn’t the best area of town. Why did you want to meet here in the first place? Because this… is gonna be my office.

[ Laughs ] That’s sonny’s office. Not anymore.

[ Doorbell rings ] You must be isaac. Come on in.

[ Sighs ]

I didn’t know michael and willow were coming in tonight. Yeah, they’re celebrating their anniversary. But their anniversary isn’t until later this month. Well, there’s a note on the reservation that it’s an anniversary celebration, and somebody called ahead for a special dessert. Oh. Okay. Thanks. I can’t believe it is a few more weeks until we have been officially married for a year. I know, I know. And I know that our actual wedding anniversary is in the middle of the run up to chase and brook lynn’s wedding, so I figured that we should celebrate tonight. But nothing says that we can’t sneak off and have some alone time that night, too. Well, I am so glad we did this. We have a lot of anniversaries to look forward to, but the first one is a big milestone, and it is so nice to be here alone with you. I know. I feel the same way. Champagne for the table. Oh, I — I think there’s a mistake. We didn’t — we didn’t order that. Uh, that’s my gift. Happy anniversary.

[ Sighs ] Come on in over here. Have a seat. Put your feet on the table if you want. Are you hungry? ‘Cause I’ll grab you something to eat. No, no, no, I’m good. Dad, you don’t have to fuss over me. Well, you can’t blame a father for worrying about his pregnant daughter. I know, and I love that about you, but I’m good. How about something to drink, then? Um, yeah. Actually, ava, could give me a water? Yeah. Of course. So, it’s late. What’s going on? Uh, well, I… I ran into josslyn at bobbie’s, and we kind of got into it. There may have been some yelling. What are you fighting about? You. Well, that’s not surprising, ’cause josslyn isn’t one of my fans, you know? Yeah, she’s definitely, uh — she’s on the warpath. But it just drives me crazy. She — she always has to be right about everything. You know? That holier-than-thou attitude. Just so annoying. Doesn’t matter what she thinks. You know why? Because you shouldn’t have to defend me. I wanted to. Kristina… these are my battles, not your battles.

[ Sighs ] I know better than to engage with her, anyway. Just couldn’t help myself. Maybe it was just the pregnancy hormones, which are no joke, by the way.

[ Chuckles ] Here you go. Thanks. Sure. Sonny. The fbi questioned you about jason? Yeah. At least they came to my office and they didn’t drag me in for a formal interview. They, uh… they wanted to know how much contact I’ve had with jason since he resurfaced.

[ Scoffs ] That’s ridiculous.

Well, I mean, not really. If you didn’t know us, I mean, we’re brothers, right? So you might think that he would confide in me. Well, I’m sorry you got dragged into this. At least we know that he didn’t shoot dante. Did he happen to mention where he’s been since 2021? No. He hasn’t said much. Never does. Just take care of yourself, carly. Stay out of whatever trouble he’s in. Okay? If not for yourself, then for josslyn and for donna. They need you to take care of them. Jason can take care of himself. Sonny and i were partners. I still own 50% of corinthos coffee, or I did. No, you do. Or, you will. Once the necessary paperwork has been filed. Okay. Uh, what about everything else? I know I left my state equally divided between jake, danny, and the other half went to carly. Nobody’s asked anything. Nobody seems to know what’s going on. What happened? The short answer is, your estate has been in probate the whole time. Okay. Why? W-what’s the problem? Because the law is complicated. There are a lot of hoops to jump through. Normally, it takes seven years for a certificate of death in absentia to be issued. And that was necessary in this case because we could not find your body, which is now very evident as to why. Okay. And even with the notarized statements that I had from witnesses who all claimed that no one could have survived that cave-in in greece, it still should have taken several years. But strangely enough, the government issued a certificate of death in absentia for you the moment I filed the paperwork, which leads me to believe that someone behind the scenes was working in your favor.

Thank you. But, uh, look, if we were going to order champagne, we would have done it ourselves. Well, that’s just the start. You know, I arranged for the chef to prepare you a fabulous five-course dinner. You know, only our finest dishes — my treat. Nina, the last time we spoke, I made it clear that I don’t want to see you. I didn’t mean to intrude. I-I’m just confused because you were here, so I thought… well, michael asked me where I wanted to go, and I picked the metro court because I have always liked it, and I didn’t want to avoid it because of you. I thought the fact that you hadn’t reached out for the last few weeks meant you accepted and honored my wishes. Okay. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to interrupt. I just thought since you were here — it doesn’t matter what I thought. I’ll just, um… I’ll cancel everything, and, uh… I won’t bother you again. My god, was that as awful as it felt? It was pretty bad. This is my fault. We should have gone to the grill or café cherie. No, hey, no, no. Willow, you wanted to come to the metro court because you love their chocolate soufflé, and I wanted to bring you here because you love their chocolate soufflé. And I love you. But it was wishful thinking that nina would actually keep her distance. That’s on her. It’s — it’s not on you. Look, we’re here, together. It’s our anniversary. The chocolate soufflé has already been ordered, so let’s just have a glass of wine and celebrate. You really are the best husband. Yeah, and don’t you forget it.

[ Chuckles ] Ah, that water really hit the spot. Think I dehydrated myself yelling at josslyn. You know what you got to do next time? You got to take a deep breath and just walk away. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. You’re right, dad. What josslyn thinks doesn’t really matter. So what else is going on? How’s work? Uh, work’s fine. Everything’s fine. Oh! I do have some good news, actually. Um, ali — blaze — is going to be the new face of deception. Yeah, I knew that ’cause I ran into blaze’s mother at the metro court when I was meeting with lois, and natalia was gonna talk to brook lynn about everything. Uh, yeah. Small world. It’s a smart move for both blaze’s career and deception, though, and I think they’re gonna have a lot of crossover exposure there, so that’s cool. Well, I’m just worried how it’s gonna affect you. What do you mean? Well, I mean, blaze, the new face of deception, is gonna get famous, more famous. And, you know, I mean, do you think you can deal with that, with everything you got going on? Yeah. Yeah? Yeah, I do. I don’t think that spotlight’s gonna fall on me at all, honestly. I mean, maybe if ali were out publicly, but she made a deal with her mother to keep her personal life personal, so… how do you feel about that? Carly, I’m gonna kill her! I’m gonna kill her. That’s it. Whoa, whoa, whoa. You’re gonna have to bail me out of prison ’cause I’m gonna kill her. Kill who? Nina! She fired pierce! Can you believe it? Pierce? The room-service waiter? Yes! Some picky guests had a little mix-up with the order, which has been known to happen during peak hours when the guy gets a little bit overwhelmed, but… yeah, but we just apologize for him, comp the order, and pull back on the amount of orders he was filling. Yeah, of course. That’s what you and I would do. Not nina. She looks at his record. She sees that there’s a couple of complaints, and off he goes.

[ Scoffs ] Well, you have to hire him back. Well, of course I’m gonna hire him back. But the guy was heartbroken and mortified. The whole staff knew about it. I can’t believe she fired pierce. You know, he’s been with the metro court since it opened. It’s like the woman has been on a rampage ever since sonny dumped her. Well, getting dumped isn’t an excuse. I can’t believe she fired sweet pierce. Yeah. And she did it without input from you, her partner. Well, that’s not the only thing she’s done without input from me. If you have my death certificate, why is my estate still in probate? Because there were various rumblings about money laundering and racketeering. Come on, diane. We know all the assets in my will are legitimate. Which needed to be proved to the government’s satisfaction. The wheels of justice turn very slowly when an estate as large as yours needs to be vetted. But this is great news because none of your assets have been disbursed. Your estate is intact. You should be able to reclaim it with a minimum of fuss. Okay. What about carly? I mean, why is she running bobbie’s? Why did she give up the metro court? Well, yeah. She didn’T. She didn’t? Mnh-mnh. Then what happened? In a word — nina.

Tell the truth. About what? If nina hadn’t tried to comp us champagne, were you going to order a bottle? I thought we weren’t gonna talk about nina. You’re right. Consider the subject changed. Okay. Well, good, because we’re celebrating, right? Yes. Right. And what is a celebration without… a little gift? Michael.

[ Stammers ] No, we said no presents. I didn’t get you anything. I know, I know what I said then, and I mean it, because you know what? Honestly, I have everything I could ever want. But you, my beautiful bride, deserve the world. Oh, my goodness.

[ Chuckles ] Michael… it’s stunning. I’m glad you like it. Who wouldn’t like this? It’S… oh. Thank you so much. I love it. I just wish I had more places to wear it. What do you mean? Well, something this fancy doesn’t exactly go with my scrubs. But I will — I will save it for special occasions. Okay. Well, I’ll make sure I’ll, uh, make more of those occasions happen. It’s a deal.

[ Chuckles ] How did you decide on this? Wiley actually picked it out. Wiley?

[ Both laugh ] I brought him to the jewelers. I narrowed it down, and he chose that one. He never said a word to me. Well, he’s very good at keeping secrets. Well, it probably helps that wiley’s in bed asleep half the time when I get home. I constantly feel like I’m playing catch-up and missing things with the kids. I mean, sometimes I only hear about their day from you or the nanny. They’re only gonna be this young once, and I feel like I’m missing so much. What color would you say that is? Light yellow. Yes. Thank you very much. According to nina, this is either off-white, chartreuse, or my personal favorite, greenish gold.

[ Laughs ] The woman is insane. Well, that’s for sure. She’s taking advantage of me being distracted with dante in the hospital and everything, and she painted all the bathrooms on the fourth floor that color. Oh, wow. That can’t look good. Uh, no. Everyone looks like a walking corpse. Oof. Well, I mean, at least it was only one floor, right? So far. Who knows what she’s gonna do the next time I have my back turned. I swear, carly, the woman is a menace. For many reasons. Can I get you something? Can I get you a coffee? No, I just needed to vent. Thank you. Thank you very much. Okay. See you later. Bye. Hi. Oh. We’re closed. I’m sorry. I’m looking for diane miller. She asked me to bring these documents to a meeting with jason morgan tonight at this address. Uh, well, I mean, he stays here, but he’s at his corinthos coffee office. Maybe she’s meeting him there. Do you have that address, by any chance? You know, actually, I’m on my way there. I can drop off those documents for diane, if you want. Really? That would be a lifesaver. Thank you so much. Oh, no. Thank you.

[ Chuckles ] What does nina have to do with the metro court? Ha ha! Where do I begin? Well, before I left for greece, sonny and carly were back together, and nina was behind him. Well, their marriage fell apart shortly after you left. Details not necessary. Suffice to say, sonny chose nina over carly. Then, drew and michael hatched an ill-advised scheme to get control of elq by merging it with aurora media. Carly wanted to help. She wanted to invest. So she leveraged her half of the metro court. And then, when the deal fell apart, carly took a huge hit financially. She didn’t tell — she didn’t tell me any of this. Carly could not buy back her half of the hotel, so nina swooped in and purchased it. Bobbie gave the diner to carly to help her back on her feet. Okay. Why would nina want the hotel?

[ Chuckles ] Because nina reeves thinks that carly is the reason for everything that’s wrong with her life. So after she took her husband and her hotel, nina turned drew and carly in to the feds for sec violations. Now, your brother took the blame, did some prison time. But carly had to pay a $5 million fine and almost lost her house. But she didn’T. Nope. She didn’T. Somehow she’s managed to hang on. In fact, she’s building back her life. You know, carly’s not the easiest client I’ve ever had, but she’s astonishingly resilient. Yeah. She is. I’m fine with the way ali wants things to be. Really? Yeah. Blaze is a famous musician, and she… you know, she works hard, and a lot of people in the public eye, they want to keep their personal lives personal. You know? They’re already on display so much as it is. So, I get it, that, you know, she would want to keep some things to herself. That’s true. I mean, it would be the same thing if I were dating a male musician who was some up-and-coming hot new artist, and I wouldn’t want to be joined at the hip with him, either. I want to be known as my own person. I want to be known for my own achievements and not just be someone’s girlfriend. Well, you work so hard, no one’s gonna think that. What do you mean? Maybe not. But I also love my anonymity. I don’t want to be recognized in public. And I have to think about looking good whenever I go out? Are you kidding me? That’s not for me. But I’m — I’m proud of ali. I saw her when she was going into a meeting with nina at crimson, and I thought, “oh, my gosh, she is gonna be on the cover of crimson, and she — she deserves it.” Really happy for her. Nina’s at crimson? Yeah. I thought you knew that, dad. No, I didn’t know. I didn’t know that. Yeah, yeah. She is, and no offense to carly, but I’m really glad, for ali’s sake, at least selfishly, I think it’s great that nina is back. She just has more experience, you know? And with ali being the face of deception, she’s — she’s gonna need that. Well, I’m happy for nina, because, you know, she always loved that magazine. But some– something seems off here. What do you mean? What do I mean? Why would drew hire back the woman who put him in prison? You won’t believe what just happened. Does this have to do with crimson? No. Well, then too bad — I tried to do something really nice for michael and willow for their anniversary, and I got completely shut down. I wanted to comp michael and willow dinner and champagne. And michael, of course, immediately said no. And willow felt like she had to side with him. And I have no one! I need some help. You — you — you can help me. You can help me find a way to get back into my daughter and my grandkids’ lives. No, I can’t help you. I don’t have to help you. All I need to do is talk to willow alone. Nina, if you’re trying to get some sympathy, you came to the wrong guy. I don’t want sympathy. I want you to help me. Come on. Nina, you gotta take responsibility for your own actions. You are the one that ruined your relationship with michael and willow, right? You burnt that bridge. There’s nothing that I can do. No, that’s where you’re wrong. Now that I’m back at crimson, you can appoint me to the aurora board of directors. Then michael will be forced to deal with me. Yeah, and this will be the start of my way back in. And why would I help you? What — what would I get out of this? For one thing, it would drive carly crazy.

Carly expects all the men in her life — sonny, jason, you — to be wrapped around her little finger, no matter how poorly she treats them. Except I’m not in carly’s life anymore. Oh, that doesn’t matter to carly. Come on, drew, you’re not this naive. She expects you to be loyal to her even though she’s not loyal to you. And you know I’m right. Her sense of entitlement knows no bounds. See, if you promote me to the board of directors, she’ll think… that we’re allies or maybe even friends, and that’ll drive carly crazy. And she’ll come running to you, begging for your attention. I have already started the process of having your accounts reinstated. Once that happens, you will have complete access to everything. Good. In fact, my paralegal was supposed to come to this meeting tonight. Bring us some documents for you to review and sign. But I’m guessing, with the hour and the location, they got a little too nervous to come down. I will have everything to you tomorrow, latest. Okay. Thank you. Hold on, hold on. I need you to do something else for me. Name it. Sonny made it very clear that he doesn’t want to see my face or hear from me again. So I want you to let him know that I’m taking back my half of the company, and I’m gonna be working right here. It’s up to you, willow. What I said from the beginning still stands, and I’ll support you if you want to keep working, and I’ll support you if you want to quit. Getting my nursing degree was hard, and I really wanted to get back to work. But the truth is that i do have the luxury of spending more time at home with our kids. I mean, wiley’s school is half day, but amelia is still so little. I want all those sweet baby moments. And I notice you’re not saying anything. Well, I just — well, I don’t want to influence you. But…? But nothing, really. It really is your choice. Look, we — we have plenty of money.

You have plenty of money. No, we — look, it’s your money, too, willow, ’cause we’re a family, right? You, me, wiley and amelia. And what’s best for our family is for you to do what you feel is right. Well, it is an incredible luxury knowing that I don’t have to work, that I could choose something different, something that gave me more time with the kids. And maybe —

[ Sighs ] Maybe it is time I really thought about it. Okay. Look, if — if — if you do decide not to keep working at the hospital, there is other work you can do, more flexible, and you’d still be doing a lot of good. Pl ease tell me moreabout this flexible do-gooding occupation you describe. So, my great-grandmother, lila, she, um — she was on the board for several charities, nonprofit charities, and they did amazing things. And, willow, you could choose a charity — charities — that you’re interested in, and you could really make a difference. And you can work it around your schedule with the kids. I mean, you’d have the best of both worlds. I wouldn’t worry about it. If drew is up to something, nina will figure it out. She can take care of herself. Yeah, yeah, you’re probably right. Uh, you know, it’s, uh, getting so late, and I have plans with blaze, so I’m gonna get going. Hate to drink and run, but… all right. I love you. I love you, too. Ava. Well, other than her little tiff with josslyn, kristina seems good. Yeah, she does. So, did your friend nina tell you that, uh, she got her job back at crimson, and you just… didn’t mention it, or…? No, that’s not what happened. Oh. In fact, nina’s phone must be lost under some photographs on her desk because I haven’t heard from her. And maybe those divorce papers she hasn’t signed yet are there, too. I didn’t know you were keeping track. Well, I — I just know you want things settled. It was none of my concern.

[ Laughs ] Yeah, I guess you’re right.

[ Grunting ] Unh!

[ Car horn honking ] Hey! Leave him alone! Oh, my god. Oh! Oh. Are you okay?

[ Groans ] Oh, god. Oh. Can you hear me? Can you hear me?

[ Groans ]

Oh, my god! John? John, can you hear me? Look at me. Look at me, john. Hi. Do you know who I am? Yeah, carly spencer. Okay. That’s good, that’s good. Thank god. Oh, my god. Oh, no, no! Here, let me help you. Let me help you. No, it’s — it’s okay. I got it. You’re not — you’re hurt. Come on. Look, I’m gonna call 911. They couldn’t have gotten far. No, don’T. Why? They jumped me from behind. I can’t identify them. It’s pointless. Oh, my god. Why did they attack you? I mean, was it a robbery? Did they take anything?

[ Grunts ] No, they didn’t take anything. Well, okay. I must have scared them off when I — when I pulled up and I started yelling at them. Either that or robbery wasn’t their intention. Oh, no, no, no. John. Let me help you. Come on. Let me help you. Oh. All right. Uh, we need to get out of here in case they decide to come back. And I’m gonna walk you to my car, okay? I’m gonna take you up on that. Okay. Lean on me. You okay? Yeah. Willow, I know how important nursing is to you, but it doesn’t have to define you. And I personally believe that you would be happy and fulfilled raising our kids and working with these charities, and you would be amazing at both. Even after all this time, sometimes I still forget how much you believe in me. Well, yeah. Always. It’s kind of crazy, growing up like I did. I just never dreamed that, one day, I would be in a position to have this kind of choice. You make me feel like the luckiest person in the world. Right back at you.

[ Knock on door ] I gotta get that. Yeah. Hello. It’s pretty late, diane. What’s wrong? There’s nothing wrong. No, no. I am here on behalf of another client. Jason? Yes. With jason’s return, his estate will immediately be pulled from probate. All of his assets will be returned to him, and he has asked me to inform you that he will be resuming his half interest in corinthos coffee. Oh, that’s not gonna happen. I just came from the warehouse where he is setting up his office. Message received. And, drew… just because carly comes running, doesn’t mean that you have to let her in. You already played hero for her. Do something for yourself for once. By doing something for you? By helping me get close to my daughter. Willow has made it very clear. She doesn’t want to get close to you, nina. She doesn’t want to know you at all. Please, can you just have a little compassion? You know what it’s like to be separated from your child. And whose fault was that? How dare you demand my help with your kid when you got me locked away from mine. I didn’t create those consequences. You and carly did when you broke the law! The excuses — the excuses keep coming! Okay! I understand that no one can penetrate that perfect, shiny victimhood of yours! Don’t turn away when I’m talking to you. What is wrong with you?

Okay. All right. Be careful. Take it slow. Yeah, yeah. I just want to get to the couch. No, no, no! Careful! You don’t want to injure yourself even worse getting there. Just slow down, all right? God, why wouldn’t you let me take you to G.H.? I think I’m okay. Really? You’re not a medical professional. I mean, the doctors would know for sure. No, I just need some ibuprofen. Just, my head is pounding, is all. Well, it’s no surprise there. What the hell were you doing walking around the waterfront at this hour? Two blocks from corinthos coffee? Look, that is not important right now. I appreciate you walking me in, and I can take it from here. Yeah, what you need to do is sit down. You need to rest. I’m gonna go get you some ice and water so you can take that ibuprofen. That is not necessary. I can do it myself. Can you please stop trying to be so macho? I will accept that you won’t go to the hospital if you accept that you need my help. Deal? Deal. Okay. Come on. I’m gonna help you sit down. Come on.

[ Groans ] Be really careful sitting down. You might have some broken ribs. Okay, okay.

[ Gasps ] Oh. Thank you. You’re welcome. Something wrong? Oh, no. I just, uh… it’s just aurora business, but I’ll talk to drew about it tomorrow. Tonight is about us. How is drew? Does he seem okay to you? He seems fine. Why? I was just thinking how weird it is that when we were hiding jason and taking care of him, we never asked drew for help. Even though you two work together, and he is jason’s brother. Thing is, um, jason and drew aren’t very close. It never even occurred to me to tell drew. And, honestly, he hasn’t said a word about jason’s return, and I didn’t think I should be the one to bring it up to him. I just feel bad for drew. It must feel like things changed overnight to him. One minute, your mom and drew are a solid couple, and then jason comes to town, and carly and drew break up, and then the two of us basically stopped reaching out to him, too. That’s gotta sting. Yeah, I don’t — I don’t want to hurt drew, but, look, protecting you, willow, was my number-one priority, and nobody can know that that we were involved with hiding jason. Oh, I-I know. I know you’re right. I… I just can’t help wondering how drew is dealing with all this. I know, because, willow, you have a big heart, and you care about people. But, look, try not to worry because, trust me, drew can take care of himself. Was there something else you wanted? Carly ever tell you you have a nice body? You’ve only seen half of it. You boys, you’re all the same. You act so brave when you’re on your barstools and you’re on your picnic benches or behind your desks.

[ Scoffs ] But what do you do when a girl takes you up on it? Or when she does something like this? You cower?

[ Laughing ] You’re such a boy scout. A man let’s a lady say no. Did I say no?

[ Door opens ] What’s up, sonny? Damn it. Jason… I don’t want you here. I want you gone.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

Alright, partner, you got anything? Bad news. I did several deep dive searches and nothing’s come up yet. Wherever Weston is, he’s definitely off the grid. God, I still can’t believe that son of a bitch got away. I damn well should have known that Ava would double crosses. Yeah, you know, I’m not gonna make excuses for her, but obviously she wasn’t thinking straight.

Worried about her son’s life and all. Yeah, well, her going rogue let Clyde and Goldman get away, which could have cost Tripp and Wendy their lives anyway. Yeah, yeah, it was a big league screw up, but you know I’ve been thinking. Yeah, what have you been thinking? How do we know that Ava doesn’t know more than she’s letting on?

Alright, you let me sleep in. Ah, well, you know, when the body speaks, you must listen. When you’re tired, sleep. When you’re hungry, Mmm.

Mmm. I was gonna say eat, but that works too. Mmm.

How you feeling? Slightly flushed. Elevated. Heartbeat. No, I meant What? I meant, I meant today. Oh. Oh, okay. So you mean, um Since I quit my job at the bistro.

You know I feel free.

The first time and I, wow. I don’t even, I don’t even remember. I feel like my life belongs to me again. It’s a great way to start a day. Yeah. You know, I can think of an even better way to start it. A penny for your thoughts. But

I always thought the price was a measly sum. Given inflation and Are you okay, Maggie? What is it? Oh, it’s just something I’ve been grappling with before. You know, I’m trying to reconcile in my mind the many sides of Victor. We, we all have our pasts, Maggie. Some more troubled than others, but what is important is that we are here in the present.

You are truly a remarkable man. I’m inspired by the woman that stands before me.

Now that is the very picture of being in the zone. What can I do for you, Alex? Nothing, I just wanted to tell you that your performance in the status update meeting was excellent. Very impressive. And I want to tell you that it’s very good to have you back here in the flesh. Not just on the screen. Oh, yeah screens just don’t cut it, huh?

I’d have to say it really is great to be back in the office. Seeing ad inventory go down while sales go up. Oh my god, it’s true. What? Uh, the word on the floor was that, uh, T Boss, uh, is back in the office, and here you are. Oh, yeah, you’re gonna have to find me a better nickname than that. No, no, it’s flattering.

If the marketing department doesn’t like you, they don’t give you a nickname. Okay, well, it doesn’t improve the name, but it does blunt the cringe, so Hey, um, I was gonna call you, but now that you’re here, I was wondering if I could talk to you for a minute. It’s about Tate and Dolly. What? What did you do to our son now?

Like sand through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives.

Mmm, now I’m gonna say this, and I can’t even believe I’m gonna say this. Vegan bacon? Vegan bacon, you made me a believer. Okay, well, I will just tell you that in my humble opinion, Tempeh is the undisputed king of the soybean genre. Well, it does, uh, it does taste good. Oh, you should check that. It might be about the audit.

Yes, it is. And? They wrapped it up. Hold on. Everything checks out at the bistro. The books are clean. And there’s nothing linking you to any illegal activity at all. Oh, thank God. Oh my gosh. Well, you know, Stephan taking responsibility for what happened. I mean, that was huge, obviously. Yeah, I mean, he had no choice.

It was either that or he was going to take the fall for attempted murder of a cop. Yeah, but I mean, the fact that he actually took responsibility, I mean, he took the fall. He did. Yeah. And it’s over. But from that look you just gave me, I’m not sure you really believe that. Look, Harris, I want to. I do, but too many people know that I was involved.

They know that it wasn’t just Stefan acting alone. Yeah, Clyde, and Steve, and John, I mean, even Tripp and Wendy suspected it. Yeah, but nobody’s gonna say anything. I mean, if Stefan doesn’t, you think, you think Clyde cares who takes the fall? And anything you did, you were forced to do. And nobody’s gonna say anything that contradicts Stefan’s statement because they all want to protect you.

Tripp, Wendy, Steve, and John.

Clyde has no power over you now. You’re free. You’re free to live your life. And you’re free to plan your future.

So what do you think, partner? Does Ava know something she’s not telling us? It’s hard to say. I do know she wants Weston to pay for what he did to Tripp. Yep, but this is Ava. Exactly. As soon as you think you can trust her, this, this time, and she won’t do something reckless or destructive, you’re quickly reminded that you’re nothing but a gullible fool.

Yeah, that’s a fact. All right, let’s talk to her again. Maybe she will remember something new that will help us put that Animal back in his cage because if Wesson hurts anybody else while he’s out there on the run, that’s on us Yeah, and I know that neither one of us can live with that What can’t you live with The tate showed up at holly’s yeah after we told him over and over again not to he just defied us He lied!

Were EJ and Nicole there? They were. They were. And after we all got over the shock of seeing him there, I told them, I said, you got to keep your daughter away from our son. Period. Well, it’s obvious that they see what we see. That these two kids are totally toxic for each other. But what just boggles my mind is, why does Tate still want to spend time with this girl after everything that she’s put into it?

Because this, this, this teen infatuation thing, it’s powerful. As, you know, as we know. But as long as the parents are aligned, and all of us agree that they should be a part, I think this thing will settle down. It’s all good. Brady, thank you so much. Oh, it’s okay. so much for handling this the way that you have.

Honestly, just so maturely, and you’re just so sensible. If I had been there, I would have completely lost it. Lisa, I almost lost it. Trust me. But, hey, we have to do what’s best for our, uh, our boy, right? Yeah. I’ve got to do what’s best for our son. I am still processing.

Your relationship with Victor. I mean, how did the two of you develop a friendship over the years? Considering our history as mortal enemies, I suppose it does seem rather implausible, but even in our darkest of moments, we both understood that there was a feeling of being a kindred spirit with one another.

And as I have told you, Victor became a very important part of my life. Yeah. As in yours, obviously. Obviously.

I didn’t think that I would ever fall in love again. When I lost Mickey. But I did. Victor was my second chapter.

I couldn’t have been more surprised. And he couldn’t have been more surprising. He had a heart as big as the cosmos. He was. And deep devotion for his family.

And that’s the Victor. That I, uh, knew and loved. Well, that is the Victor that you should remember. That we both should remember.

Sweetness. It’s a surprise. I thought you were going to work. Uh, well, I thought I’d pick up a little takeout on my way. So I parked in the back, came through the kitchen, and What can’t you live with? I can’t live with, uh, the thought that Clyde Weston got away. Or the fact that he’s still out there. Barney, we better get a move on here.

We don’t want to be late to that client meeting. Right. Hey, baby, can we talk later? Of course. Okay. I love you. Yeah. Love you. Bye.

You’re very kind, Constantine. You bring out the best in me, Maggie. As you did with Victor. You were his rock, clearly. His guiding star, if you will. We needed each other. We adored each other. And I’m still struggling with what I know about Victor’s past. Constantine. Talking to you and seeing how you’ve chosen to move forward with your life and, and you found peace.

Well, it’s given me hope. Hope is what holds us together. Hope is the light that shines on what may come. This place is turning into a manhouse! I beg your pardon. Am I interrupting?

Uh, look, I will be the first to admit that I was a fool when I was a teenager. But, uh, Holly and Tate, I did not bat in their league. Uh, me neither. But, um, however we handle this, we have to be united. Agreed? Yeah. We can only pray that EJ and Nicole are on the same page. Yeah. Oh, Roy, let me see that. What? I have to go.

I have a meeting in, like, ten minutes. Oh, hey, Teresa. By the way, on my way home, I was thinking about grabbing some chicken, making my world renowned chicken piccata for dinner. Oh, yeah, yum. I love your chicken piccata. Mm, good. Uh, what? Did I miss something? Oh, you didn’t tell him? Theresa moved back in with me.

Alright, speaking of what’s next for you, what do you want to be when you grow up, Ava? Oh, well, you know, when I was a kid, I had some crazy career aspirations. Fashion designer was at the top of the list. Okay. You know, when I was a kid, I used to just cut out all these images from magazines and put them on a board, kind of like a vision board.

I can see you doing that. But, you know, it was pretty obvious that wasn’t in the cards with my family, so. It’s all good. Because, you know, if I had gone to some elite fashion institute, I probably wouldn’t have found my love of cooking. And you know that’s my passion. I do, so maybe culinary school is the next move.

Mmm. Yes, it could be my calling, huh? Yeah. But whatever you decide, I just want you to know I’m, I’m gonna be there for you. I’m cheering you on. And eating the homework. And devouring the homework. Yeah. I believe in you.

That means more to me than you know.

That’s probably my groceries.

We need to talk about Weston. Maggie I’m not complaining. I’m

just a little tired. I love Thomas. I love Charlotte. They’re wonderful children. When does spring break end? Please, Julie, relax right here. It is time for my morning walkabout anyway. Maggie, I would like to continue our conversation if you will indulge me. Afternoon tea in the garden, perhaps? That would be lovely.

What did I walk in on?

Huh. I’m just surprised, that’s all. You said you were going to be staying at the Salem Inn. I was, and then I, I ran into Alex. Yeah, and I pointed out that she never really moved out of my place. I mean, half of her belongings are still there. Yeah, so, yay, we’re roomies again. Uh, okay, I really, I really, I gotta go now.

Um, so, see you at home? Yeah, you got it, roomie. Rumi, really? Oh,

didn’t realize you had company. We can come back another time. No, no, this is about Clyde. I’d like to hear it too. Why? Well, we were going over everything we knew about him. We got to thinking that maybe you have Remember, it’s something new that could trigger lead force. Hmm. Yeah, I wish I did. You know, it’s not like I was Clyde’s confidant.

I, um, I want him caught and put away just as much as anyone else. Yeah, and you guys know, law enforcement’s putting a lot of resources into finding him, and you guys are really great at your job, so the more eyes looking for Clyde, the better. Definitely. Yeah, and obviously this, I don’t even have to say this, if you guys find anything, you just let us know, because I wouldn’t want you taking things into your own hands if, uh, if you know what I mean.

Wouldn’t dream of it.

Well, we’ve taken up enough of everyone’s time. But, uh, no stone unturned, right? Right. Well, look, I’m gonna go, uh, pull myself together, get ready to start my day.

Let’s, uh, let’s keep each other in the loop. Hundred percent. Hey, Why don’t you go on ahead? I want to pick Harris brain about a couple things. Alright then. I’ll see you back at the office. Yeah.

Well, so now that we’re keeping each other in the loop, Any chance I can get a look at Goldman’s personnel file? We, we scoured everything we have on her. Ah, fresh eyes can’t hurt. John, you know, come on, it’s against policy. You already know that. Well, what I know is it might help put Weston behind bars.

Come on, Harris. You and I have both worked outside the proverbial lines from time to time.

Goldman’s personnel file, is that all you need? Yeah, that and I’ve got a question for you, and it’s personal. I mean, if it’s, you know, if it’s about No, no, no, no, it’s got nothing to do with that. This is about you and me. Something that we both have in common here. Let’s, um, let’s call it a shared experience, and I’m talking about what Megan did to you.

Yeah, I just, uh, you know, I try not to think about that. Yeah, and how’s that working out for you? In the beginning, that wasn’t good. Until I went to Bayview, and that helped a lot, mostly thanks to your wife. Yeah, well, she’s the best at what she does, but I wonder if, if it’s enough sometimes. What do you mean?

Well, what happened to you, what, what? What happened to me?

Aren’t you afraid you’re nothing but a ticking time bomb? And somehow, someway, at any time, it can happen all over again. How

terrible for him to lose his daughter that way, and what, what agony for John to think he was in any way responsible. Well, it’s been traumatic for him, obviously. And for me, too, frankly. Knowing that Victor played a part in it. I’m sorry, darling. You know, I’ve had to dig deep into my feelings about who Victor really was.

Well, Victor was, uh, complicated. A paradox. But then again, so is Doug. I mean, Doug certainly has a past. And look at him now. A model citizen, honest as the day is long, full of empathy for everyone and The most loving man I ever met. He is that. And Victor Victor’s great virtue was falling in love with you.

Aww. Because you brought out the best in him. Well, I don’t know about that. But I do know That you have a gift for saying just the right thing and lifting everyone’s spirits. Well, I try. Let’s have a toast. Okay. What are we toasting to? Oh, to us. Okay. Because. Yes. We know how to pick them. Okay.

So just like that, you and Teresa go from being almost engaged to roommates again. Why not? It was the chance for Teresa to find a place on her own. And there’s no hidden agenda here. If that’s what you’re wondering, Brady, okay. I just want what’s best for her personally and professionally. And I think she has the ability to make some serious waves here within the company.

You sound like granddad right there. Oh yeah. Yeah. You know, when it came to business, he always strived for excellence and he always wanted to set his people up for success. And I’m glad that you are pushing that legacy forward, Alex. I like it.

You know, when I found out Victor was my father, it just put this whole other level of pressure on me when it comes to the family business, so Just want to make him proud. I think if you stick to who you are and know that what you’re doing is right, yeah, I think Victor would be very proud. Appreciate that, man.

Speaking of father and sons, I’m happy to hear that Tate was exonerated. It’s gotta be a huge relief for you and Theresa now that he’s home, right? Yeah. Despite some challenges that may be coming with it. I assume you overheard most of what we were saying and Yeah. You get the gist of the challenge, right?

I do. I mean, aside from just wanting my son to be, you know Stable and healthy and generous and kind. I want them to know what a healthy relationship is. There’s nothing more important. Agreed. Which is why I want the same thing for Teresa. The mother of my son. Which is why I’m going to say this to you again.

Told you in Greece when you two were getting to know each other. Alex, don’t screw with her.

Oh. Damn it, Constantine, you are like a bad penny. I have been trying to reach you. You never respond. Yeah, well, I’ve been busy and this is going to surprise you. But the world doesn’t revolve around you. I’m in a rush. Actually, I would like an update on your relationship with Alex Kiriakis, if you don’t mind.

Given the fact that you made a rather rash and idiotic breakup. Okay. You’ll be pleased to hear that I have moved back into Alex’s apartment. I am pleased to hear that. Yeah, but don’t get too excited because I’m keeping it strictly platonic. Just roommates in separate rooms. For now. I’m not moving fast enough for you, huh?

Actually, Theresa, what I’m about to say might surprise you.

Ben.

Ah, what did you do?

Can’t I just bring my wife some flowers? Uh uh. No, ma’am. I don’t think so. Unless you’ve done something that you know I’m not going to be happy about. And since I already know something’s going on with you, it was so obvious at the pub. Talk to me.

I hate keeping secrets from you, baby. Well, then don’t. But I don’t want to put you in a position of having to lie for me. Come on. After all these years, you know that I have your back, and I will do anything for you. So tell me what’s going on. I think you might want to sit down. It’s a long story.

I’d be lying if I said that didn’t cross my mind. That it could happen all over again, as you just put it. But, working with the doctors, I Working on myself, that saved me. I still have to live with what I did, that’s, that’s never gonna change. And John, in the beginning, I, I, it was tough, man. Like, I was so, so overwhelmed from the guilt.

How’d you deal with it? I just kept reminding myself, like I do now every day, that those actions were not committed freely. That my will was not my own. Therefore, I was not responsible for those actions. We’re still struggling. I can, I can see it. And look, it took me a long time to come to terms with my past.

And I hope I’m not making it sound like it was easy. No, no, you’re not at all. Okay, John, you, what happened to you? You have to tell yourself over and over every single day that it was not your fault. It was not your fault. You got to put the blame where the blame belongs on the people who try to control you.

Because you and I were victims. But to continue not to be victimized by them,

you have to forgive yourself.

Look at this straight. You, John, and Ava created this whole hazmat incident as a cover for, what’s the word you use? Um, an extraction, an extraction of Clyde Weston from Statesville. So many words, yeah, that’s about right. So you’re telling me that you broke a dangerous criminal off? A, uh, convicted murderer.

In fact, the man who murdered our niece, Abigail, out of prison. What the hell? I was desperate, Kayla. Tripp and Wendy were missing. I was afraid I would never see my son again. So you essentially negotiated with a terrorist. What choice did I have? I knew that Weston would kill Tripp and Wendy without batting an eye if he didn’t get what he wanted.

I had to do something. Oh, so breaking him out of prison was your only course of action. And oh, how shocking that Ava double crossed you. John and I should have anticipated that. Yeah, maybe you should have. I mean, how on earth did you I can’t believe that you would trust her. Listen, everything was moving so fast.

Time was not on our side, and I thought I was going to lose my son. I knew it was dangerous. I knew it going in. But you still went in. My God, Steve. How could you do something so stupid? You

know, Brady, you’ve given me a lot of insight to Teresa, and a lot of, um You know, advice. The past few months. From making sure she feels accepted at work, to being aware that she’s fragile and needy, and that a recovered addict is always on the verge of a relapse. I never said that. Well, it was a subtext of everything you said.

And now you’re telling me not to screw with her. Alex, I don’t want things to end badly for her. I just want her to be okay. Not just for her sake, but for my son’s sake. Right, you know? Right, absolutely. And I get your point on that concern. Right. It just seems like it goes further than that. You know, with this little intervention, if you will, as well as all your previous ones, it suggests to me that you are far more interested in Teresa than just being the mother of your child.

Not so. Are you sure? I’m very, very sure about that. Look, I, I want her to be happy, I want her to be stable. Her life is complicated enough without having to deal with Kristen. Now, why would she have to deal with Kristen? Alex, She’s gonna be around, right? I mean, since you and Kristen are, uh, dating? Right, right.

And that would be a plus for you, wouldn’t it? Because if Kristen is around, as you put it, that could just drive Teresa right back into your arms, wouldn’t it? We’re doing this again? I mean Alright, let’s, let’s do it again. Listen, I, I am not interested in Teresa that way. As I said, I want her happy, I want her stable.

That is the extent of my concern for her. That’s it. Done. Period. End of story. Truth be told, you’re not very convincing. I think you’re lying to yourself. And then I think I should probably just go. Okay, well, just know that Teresa’s back under my roof, Brady, whether you like it or not. And whatever happens, or does not happen, between Teresa and I is between her and I.

Notice served. Loud and clear. Cheers.

Allow me to provide a little insight into the mind of a man. How many times can I say no thanks? Nothing attracts men like Alex more than forbidden food. I have observed this type over the years. The forbidden fruit type, yeah, got it. A rare specimen among the male species. You know, I have to say, I really, really treasure your expertise, Constantine.

It truly, it is just revolutionary. Mock me if you like, but we both know that men like Alex, we want what they cannot have. So you must provide that, create that illusion for him. So he will run right into your arms. And your pet. Mm hmm. Yeah, I already knew that. And you’ll be pleased to know that my plan is to create a slow burn until Alex’s Oh, forgive the purple prose here.

Consumed by the flames of passion.

You think I’m proud of what I did? I wish I hadn’t agreed to it. But I’m telling you, baby, it was just this This awful, sudden convergence of events. Can you at least try to understand that? No, I can’t. I can’t understand why you ever trusted Ava. I keep telling you why because I was desperate. I thought my son was gonna die.

And yeah, things would have been different if Ava had come to me in the first place, as soon as Weston got his hooks into her. But she didn’t, did she? Because she is incapable of thinking about anybody but herself, or thinking about the possible consequences of her actions before it’s too late. I know that.

You don’t have to remind me of that. Well, obviously I do. Because you were deceived by her once again, and in the worst possible way. And every time we are sucked into Ava Vitale’s little dark vortex, we are the ones that suffer. And you and I both know that. No, no, actually, you know it better than I. You know it better than I do, or at least you should.

And yet And yet you let it happen again. And there is no damn excuse for that. None.

Hey, Dad. Hey, there he is. How you doing? Good, man. Where you coming from? Uh, work. Work. But I’m glad I ran into you, because I really actually want to talk to you. Everything okay? Yeah, with me, um, nothing to report, but, uh, I know that something’s been weighing on you, and I, look, man, I have not been that attentive.

I haven’t had the bandwidth to even like You’ve been totally fine here, so forget about me anyway. Let’s talk about something good for a change, like uh, Tate coming back home, huh? Yeah, no, it’s a relief. A big relief for him, huh? But um, we were thinking about going and checking out the Cubbies this weekend.

Their lineup is unreal, isn’t it? I know it is, I know it is. And I was thinking, why don’t you come? Come on, three generations in the stands. Hell yeah! Yeah? I love that. Alright, I’m so glad. I’m so glad you said yes. Legally it is. But, but, I want to know how you’re doing, seriously. Actually, I’m feeling a lot better today.

Yeah, I can see that. I see it in your eyes, it’s almost like you, I don’t know, you found some peace or something. Oh, kid, that’s what I’ve been praying for. I’m starting to think my prayers are finally being answered.

Have I told you lately how much you lift my spirits? Tell me more. I’d love to hear it. Well, it’s not just your words of wisdom and compassion, but it’s the way you keep that wonderful optimistic perspective, even, even in the darkest of times. Well, Maggie, what’s the alternative? Just to sink into despair.

Self pity is so unattractive.

Then I look at you and my whole faith in the human race rises up. You’re all heart, Maggie.

Speaking of heart, uh, how is your little granddaughter Holly doing? Um, she’s fine. Physically. Thank God! She confessed that the drugs she overdosed on were hers and not Tate’s. Oh, I’m so sorry. Yeah. On one hand, I’m relieved. I’m relieved that Tate’s home and free of the charges and Teresa and Brady have that weight lifted off their shoulders.

And on the other hand, I’m, I’m so sad to know that my granddaughter is using. Of course. Of course. You don’t have to shoulder this burden alone. You know Doug and I are here for you. Everyone is here for you. You’re not alone. Come to think of it, you’re not all that alone these days, are you? Because of Constantine, you mean?

Well You seem to be growing closer.

We are, actually. Um, He’s become a very good friend.

Hey. Oh, hey.

Getting some laundry done? Huh. Gave it away.

Did you, um, get the chicken? What? You know, the chicken you were going to make us your amazing chicken piccata. Right, yes, yes, I have the chickens right here. I’m going to bring it in the kitchen, and I’m going to take a shower, and then I’m going to start cooking.

Sounds good. Okay.

Mission close to accomplished. Is the coast clear? Commence. All clear. Good. We can do this. Okay.

What’s wrong? Nothing’s wrong. I’m just going to go to my place and grab some clothes. We don’t need clothes for what I’ve got planned. Oh, well I do need some for work. Okay, and assuming I’m going to stay the night. Oh, okay, right, right. Okay, I’ll be right back. Okay, well you know where I’ll be.

Oh,

hello. Well, hello there, little bitty. I bet you thought you were rid of me, huh?

Tucker: Hey gorgeous, I’m about to jump in the shower. Why don’t you join me, make it more interesting. I’ll make it worth your while. Marry me, audra. I love you. Give me your hand.

Audra: Uh, tucker, wait. I haven’t said yes. Are you sure you’re not trying to prove something to ashley or devon or perhaps the rest of the world? Or are you maybe just out to prove something to yourself?

Ashley: Hi.

Ashley: Geez, how many messages could one person leave? I love you, trace, but you’re a pain in the butt. No. No. No. No. Oh. I’ve got to find tucker and scare him off. It’s the only way to protect ashley before she takes back control and does something stupid. Hi, hi. Uh, can I please get a ginger ale? Wait, um… I’m gonna have a martini.

Summer: Oh, there you are.

Chance: I’m so sorry I’m late.

Summer: Rough day at the office?

Chance: Um, yeah. Yeah, it got pretty tense.

Summer: Seems to be kind of the norm at chancellor-winters lately. Do you wanna talk about it, or do you wanna slide straight into ordering some drinks?

Chance: Well, as good as that sounds, I think there’s something that we might need to discuss first.

Claire: Oh, how adorable is this place? I can hardly believe this is happening. I have a home. A real home with my mom and actual siblings that I can’t wait to meet. Next thing you know, I’ll be asking for a puppy. Are you all right?

Victoria: Yeah. Yes, of course.

Claire: Ah. I think I know the perfect place for this. It’s beautiful when it blooms.

Victoria: I’m pleased that you’re so happy.

Claire: This is my dream, but it isn’t yours, is it?

Victor: Sweetheart, are you okay?

Nikki: Yes, I’m fine.

Victor: Baby, don’t lie to me. I know what’s going on. (Vo) at dog chow

Announcer: Additional sponsorship provided by… my blood pressure is borderline.

Victor: The vodka. Larry told me that someone at the bar society sent over a drink to you.

Nikki: Yes, it– it was terrifying.

Victor: Well, tell me about it.

Nikki: I was with jack, and some man sent a glass of vodka over to me, and then he left the restaurant.

Victor: Anyone recognize the sob?

Nikki: The staff had never seen him before. And larry was looking for jordan, not a man. Jack tried to track the guy down, whoever he was, but he didn’t have any luck. But I am convinced that jordan was behind it.

Victor: Uh-huh. Let me ask you something. If– if larry hadn’t told me about this, would you have? I mean, sweetheart, you and I agreed to be open with each other. All right? I have to know what’s going on. Don’t you agree?

Nikki: I just don’t wanna be a burden.

Victor: What do you mean, you don’t wanna be a burden? Since when have you been a burden to me? Your happiness, your well-being is all that matters to me. I don’t want you to go out alone anymore, dear. I mean– anyway, I’m gonna double security, okay?

Nikki: What good would that do? I mean, we already know that jordan has at least one other person working with her. I– it’s like she’s everywhere, watching and waiting. How much longer are we supposed to go on like this? It– it has to stop.

Victor: It will end.

Nikki: What do you mean?

Victor: Right now, because you and I will go on a vacation. There’ll be a plan.

Nikki: No, victor. I won’t go.

Summer: Daniel, I can’t believe that you got fired. I– I hope that you’re okay. Call me when you get this. I just– I can’t believe that lily would fire him. I mean, yes, getting back together with heather while lily was out of town, daniel could have handled that situation a bit better, but lily’s always been so level-headed. For her to retaliate like this, firing them both, it just feels unfair.

Chance: I agree, and the issue is bigger than just that. I mean, the repercussions are gonna be felt throughout the whole company. Your brother is omega sphere. I mean, I have a feeling chancellor-winters is gonna take a serious hit without him.

Summer: Are you sorry you left the police force now?

Chance: No, but I am sorry that I have taken up so much of this beautiful evening talking shop. So, I’m done now. Let the date begin.

Summer: Okay, that’s not how it works.

Chance: What do you mean?

Summer: Chance, you don’t have to be on with me. Date with summer, it’s not another thing to check off your to-do list. This is where you get to actually be yourself and relax. Although I am sensing your stress level is still pretty high.

Chance: Yeah, you could say that.

Summer: You know, I think I know how to ease a lot of that tension, actually.

Chance: You’re not gonna throw me on a roller coaster, are you?

Summer: Oh, you did say you wanted a rain check for that, but no, I think I have an even better idea. Follow me.

Chance: Okay.

Tucker: Yo, miss charles, this water ain’t getting any wetter. Better get in there.

[ Ashley grunts ]

Ashley: So gross! Why would anybody drink that?

Audra: Oh, just what I need.

Ashley: Hey! Hi.

Audra: Excuse me?

Ashley: I need to talk to tucker. It’s really important.

Audra: Are you for real?

Ashley: Yeah.

Audra: You know, you are unbelievable.

Ashley: I just need to talk to tucker, okay? I just– that’s all.

Audra: “That’s all?” Yeah, what’s it gonna take for you to finally get the message that tucker is done with you? Utter and complete public humiliation? Because that can be easily arranged.

You’re the one that I want

Ashley: No, I don’t want anybody to be humiliated.

Audra: Too bad you’re doing that all by yourself.

Ashley: I’m not who you think I am.

Audra: I’m pretty sure i know who you are.

Ashley: No. I said I really have to find tucker. I need to warn him.

Audra: Warn him about what? Me? That’s a laugh. No, you’re the only threat here, and– and you’re making a fool of yourself.

Ashley: No, it’s not me. Listen to me, please. It’s not me, it’s her. She’s pretending that she loves him, but she doesn’T. She wants to hurt him. I mean, like, she wants to hurt him really, really bad. She thinks it’s the only way to protect ashley, but she’s wrong.

Audra: Okay, but you’re ashley. So– so who is she? What– what are you even talking about?

Ashley: I’m trying to tell you. I need to find tucker. It’s very, very important. I just need to talk to him.

Audra: Oh, my god. Tucker was right. You– you are losing your mind.

Ashley: That is so not cool of you to say to me right now. You have no idea what she’s planning.

Audra: Ashley?

Ashley: Ash, stop right now. Not another word or I will shut you down. No.

Audra: No what? Wh– what’s happening? You know, you’re really freaking me out if that’s your plan.

Ashley: You have to promise me. Please promise me that you’re gonna keep him away from her.

Audra: Who is her? Ashley.

Victoria: You know, I want you to know something. This is my dream.

[ Exhales ] There’s nothing that I want more than to– to build a home with you. Under one roof, our– our own roof, not camping out at my parents’ place.

Claire: Oh, the main house wasn’t exactly camping.

[ Victoria laughs ]

Victoria: Yeah, you’re right about that.

Claire: So, you’re okay?

Victoria: Yes.

Claire: You just– you seem not quite here.

Victoria: Well– well it’s just that being here, I can’t help but think of the home that I lost. There’s just been so much going on and we’ve been so busy. I really haven’t had it. The chance for it to sink in until now.

Claire: I’m so sorry, I wasn’t thinking.

Victoria: No, please don’t– don’t apologize. I just need some time to process all of it and I will. But to know that that home that I loved for all of those years, where I raised my children and I built so many memories there. And it’s just gone now. It’s ashes.

[ Victoria sighs ] My kids will never get to see where they took their first steps again. Where they said their first words. And, you know, I’ve been really worried about how hard it would be for them to– to lose the only home that they’ve ever known. But I guess… I guess I just didn’t realize that it would be really hard for me as well.

Claire: I can’t even imagine what you’ve lost. But if it’s not too much, I– I’d love to hear about your beautiful home.

Victor: What do you mean we don’t go on our vacation? That’s long overdue.

Nikki: Well, I was talking to jack about it. If we leave town, jordan wins.

Victor: I don’t give a damn what jack abbott says or thinks, all right? It’s none of his damn business.

Nikki: No, this is all me. We stay. I will not let that woman declare victory.

Victor: Sweetheart, when you live your life, that’s the best revenge.

Nikki: Well, there’s another reason that we should stay in town.

Victor: What?

Nikki: Victoria has already voiced her concern about this. Without me to focus on, jordan might go after claire, and I would never be able to forgive myself, and I know you wouldn’t either.

Victor: Victoria and claire are safe in the tack house.

Nikki: You can’t confine them to the property. And I– I don’t want to put their safety at risk, so I have come up with a plan.

Victor: Oh, yeah? What’s your plan?

Nikki: We will throw an anniversary party that is so spectacular, when jordan hears about it, she won’t be able to help herself. She will try to sneak in and wreak havoc, but we will have so much security there, she will be outnumbered.

Victor: I don’t like it. Okay? I will not have that psychopath ruin our celebration.

Nikki: Well, she’s already done a hell of a job destroying our lives. Wouldn’t it be worth it to finally stop her? There it is…

Chance: I like the way you think.

Summer: I thought that you would.

Chance: Come here.

Summer: Take your shirt off.

Chance: Excuse me?

Summer: I’m gonna give you a massage.

Chance: Oh! Don’t have to tell me twice.

Summer: Yes, yes, yes.

Chance: Yeah, you can button out there.

Summer: There you go.

Chance: One more for good luck.

Summer: Okay, on the bed.

Chance: Yes, ma’am. Oh! Oh, yeah. Wow. Oh! No way.

[ Summer laughs ] Oh, yeah. Mm. You are too good to me.

Summer: Oh, this feels good to me, too.

[ Chance laughs ] I like shutting out the world with you.

Chance: You know what? I like shutting out the world with you, too. Although I think we need a little reciprocation here, yeah?

Summer: I don’t need a massage.

Summer: Oh, I had some other things in mind, actually.

Summer: Oh, yeah? Like what?

Chance: Yeah, baby. Yeah. Over there. Over there. How’s it doing for you?

Summer: Hmm.

Victor: Trust me, I will get her. And there will be justice.

Nikki: Does that mean that you have a plan?

Victor: Let me just say that there are several options, all right? You just told me that I need to be open and honest with you. That goes both ways.

Victor: Uh-huh.

Nikki: But this whole mess is my fault.

Victor: Come on, now. No, don’t make excuses for me. It was a mistake, and this is my way to make amends.

Victor: There’s no need. I’m on it.

Nikki: Victor, try to understand. I wanna take my life back. I– I wanna be in control of my sobriety. And maybe there’s a part of me that wants to know that I’m not anybody’s victim. So I wanna be a part of bringing jordan down for good. Here’s how I see it. We won’t even know that she has infiltrated the party until she’s apprehended. So while she is in custody, we will be celebrating our life and love with our family and friends.

Audra: Ashley, I don’t wanna argue with you about this or anything else, because none of what you said made any sense. You know, if it’s for show, to make tucker or me pity you, that would be one thing. You know, but if this is for real–

Ashley: My god, you like to talk, don’t you? Let me tell you what happened. I had a couple of these bad boys, and I forgot to eat. No big deal.

Audra: Are you on meds? Is this some kind of interaction?

Ashley: No, I’m not on meds. No, like I said, it went right to my head.

Audra: You know, you weren’t being yourself, and I’m not sure who you are now.

Ashley: You know me so well.

Audra: Well, I know that that wasn’t normal, and now you’re back to being a complete–

[ Sighs ] You know what? This is none of my business.

Ashley: You are really blowing this out of proportion.

Audra: You know, you should go home and talk to your family.

Ashley: Okay, audra, that’s exactly what I’m gonna do. In the meantime, can we keep this silly little conversation to ourselves?

Audra: You don’t want tucker to know, for whatever reason. Honestly, I just wanna be done with this conversation, so–

Tucker: Hey. What’s going on? I would’ve called yesterday.

Announcer: The young and the restless will continue.

Victoria: The minute that billy and I saw the house, well, we knew we had to have it. It was– [ Sighs ] It was straight out of father knows best. You’re probably too young to even know about that show.

Claire: Happy family hijinks?

Victoria: Yeah, something like that, yeah. But anyway, it was just this cozy, old-fashioned house. In one of those neighborhoods where you could borrow sugar from the neighbor. Or I could have if I had done anything more than bake chocolate chip cookies for the kids, and burn them multiple times.

Claire: Well, I really wish I’d been there for that.

Victoria: You wanna know what the funny thing is? I’ve already pictured you there with us, and what that would have been like. Game time around the coffee table with johnnie and katie when they got home from boarding school. Not to mention the holidays. Handing out candy to trick-or-treaters at halloween, and christmas, oh, christmas. I mean, the tree. The way that it looked right there in that big window. It was beautiful. And you would have hung your stocking right next to everyone else’s, our family. Truly together.

Claire: It would have been perfect. Would you consider rebuilding?

Victoria: No. No. It just wouldn’t be the same, you know? The notches on the door and the kitchen where we used to measure the kids’ height as they got taller. And all of the kids’ posters and art projects and all the trophies.

[ Sniffles ] And all of the silly stuff that we would leave on the refrigerator. That is what makes a house a home.

[ Sobbing ] And it’s gone now.

Claire: I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry that this isn’t the way that you planned for us to live together, and I’m sorry that it’s just– it’s another thing that jordan has taken from you, from– from us.

Victoria: Listen to me. I don’t want you to think about her anymore or talk about her anymore. She doesn’t deserve that. You’re here now with your family and that’s all that matters. All right. [ Sniffles ] And now, for the first order of business… welcome home.

[ Claire chuckles ]

Claire: I know it’s just a key but… thank you.

Victoria: And for the second order of business, you need to pick which room you want.

Claire: Really? Any one I want?

Victoria: Absolutely. You’re the oldest. You’re here now. You have first dibs.

Claire: Okay then. I suppose you’d be the one with the bookshelves.

Victoria: Are those the books that I gave you at the hospital?

Claire: My most treasured possessions.

Victoria: I’m actually starting to feel like home already.

Victor: Sweetheart, the reason for this party is for you to focus on something other than that jordan woman. I wanna celebrate us. It was 40 years ago that we expressed our love for each other.

Nikki: Well, we have been on and off, so 40 years is a bit misleading.

Victor: I don’t give a damn with off and on. I’ve loved you all these years. You’ve always in my heart.

Nikki: You’re such a romantic. You always have been. If you really wanna go big, let’s do this. We will bring jordan down. What could be a better tribute than that to our love?

Audra: You were right, tucker. Something is definitely off. The things she said made no sense.

[ Ashley laughing ]

Ashley: You’re really a drama queen, aren’t you? Okay, I had a martini with no food.

Audra: Okay, and now you’re stone cold sober? You know, maybe you are faking it. Maybe this is part of her sick game or something.

Tucker: What’s going on, ashley?

Ashley: Honestly, your girlfriend here is blowing everything out of proportion.

Audra: That’s what you wanna call it?

Ashley: Well, I think this is you taking a silly conversation that we had, and twisting it so you can mark your territory. I really don’t know.

Tucker: Have you seen anyone? Have you talked to anyone yet, as we discussed?

Ashley: Oh, baby, so adorable how you worry about me. Starting to make me think that I should worry about you.

[ Tucker chuckles ] When my doctor gave me breztri for my copd

Tucker: That’s no answer.

Ashley: Well, I can see there’s no point in trying to have a conversation with either one of you. I will take my leave. Audra, do the world a favor. Get a sense of humor.

Audra: Gr– mm. Wow, that was–

Tucker: She rattled you?

Audra: She wishes. You know, but the thing she said, you know, for a moment, I was afraid for her. And for you.

Tucker: Talk to me. Tell me everything.

Chance: Thank you for closing out the world with me. You know, I’m the worst. I didn’t ask you about how your day was.

Summer: Oh, my day. My day was pretty low-key. I worked from the abbott house for a couple hours to keep an eye on harrison. Kyle and I are kind of tag-teaming it until we find a full-time nanny situation.

Chance: Well, it’s good that you two are working together. And keep things civil.

Summer: Yeah, like you and abby, right? I mean, things aren’t always amazing, but we can come together for harrison’s best interests.

Chance: Yeah, abby and I, we got the co-parenting thing down, but the nanny duty?

[ Exhales ] I cannot imagine having to work with dominic in my office. You know, I told you he decided to be a drummer, right? Very dedicated to his craft, too.

Summer: Ooh, that would be distracting.

Chance: You know, the real distraction is sometimes I just watch him play with whatever. You know, he’s so sweet.

Summer: You’re such a good daddy.

Chance: Papa. Devon’s daddy.

Summer: Right, you all have this down.

Chance: Yeah, yeah. I do love every second with that little dude, though.

Summer: Hmm. Sometimes it makes me sad that I missed out on harrison’s younger years. But I know I just gotta enjoy all the time that I have with him now before he decides he’s too old to call me mommy.

Chance: Ooh, it’s gonna be a tough day.

Summer: It really will be.

Chance: Until then, you still need a nanny.

Summer: Yes, I do. But unfortunately, the only person harrison has responded to is not safe to be around for anyone.

Nikki: I know you’re concerned about my safety and the family’s safety, but security is on it. And we already know how jordan operates, so we will be ready for her, and it will finally be over.

Victor: So this is what you really want?

Nikki: It really is.

Victor: Then we’re gonna make it work.

Nikki: Why do I have the feeling that you already have something planned?

Victor: Let me put it this way. If we’re gonna pull this off, then I’m gonna have to make a few phone calls.

Nikki: Is that a yes?

[ Victor exhales ]

Victor: Are you sure about this, baby? Because once we start this, there’s no going back.

Nikki: The only thing I’m more sure of is how much I love you.

Victor: Then… let’s have a party to end all parties. Okay? In more ways than one.

[ Nikki chuckles ] Chin up, sweetheart.

Nikki: Thank you.

Victor: See you later.

Nikki: Okay.

Victoria: Mom, are you here?

Nikki: I’m right here, darling, I’m in here.

Victoria: Hi.

Nikki: Hey.

[ Victoria sighs ] How are you settling in at the tack house?

Victoria: Ah, it’s going to be amazing. [ Laughs ]

Nikki: Well, if you need anything, let me know.

Victoria: No, no, no. Not when you should be packing for your romantic getaway. Are you going somewhere tropical, I’m guessing?

Nikki: Um, about that, there’s been a change of plans.

Victoria: But you were so looking forward to it.

Nikki: And your father and i are going to take a trip eventually. But right now, we just wanted to focus on the party.

Victoria: It’s gonna be your first newman party as a newman. Do you think you’re ready for it?

Claire: I can’t wait. If there’s anything I can do to help, I’d love to pitch in.

Nikki: Oh, thank you. I’ll keep that in mind.

Victoria: Well, 40 years is definitely something to celebrate, but are you sure having some big extravaganza is a good idea? I mean, there’s gonna be a lot of people and a lot going on. It could be a magnet for jordan. I mean, if she is still around. Do you really think we should take that chance, mom?

Nikki: All I know is that victor and I aren’t going to let her have power over us anymore. And we can celebrate that as well.

Victoria: What if she didn’t get on a train? What if she finds a way to sneak into the party?

Nikki: To be honest, that’s exactly what I hope she does. Diabetes can serve up a lot of questions, like…

Chance: I know you’ve got your doubts about your cousin claire, but the rest of the newman clan has accepted her, yeah?

Summer: Hmm, more or less.

Chance: And she’s staying at the ranch?

Summer: Yes, she is.

Chance: Well, if victor newman of all people doesn’t think she’s a threat, I tend to go with that.

Summer: How can I look at her and not see the person who was all in on helping to kill my dad, my– my grandparents, my aunt?

Chance: I know. Didn’t she say she was brainwashed by someone?

Summer: Yes, but is that really an excuse? And even so, I mean, how do we know that she’s actually cured?

Chance: It’s possible.

Summer: Possible, yes. But the fact is, she could still be a threat to my family. That’s enough for me to not trust her around my son.

[ Chance sighs ] Ugh, unless she is totally and completely sane suddenly, and I’m the one that’s being a jerk.

Chance: You know, I’m sensing that you’re the one who’s stressing now. How about I take you downstairs and we get a round of those drinks we never ordered?

Summer: Hmm, I think that that is a great idea. Last thing I wanna do right now is think about my cousin claire.

Victoria: Mom, this is how you and dad wanna celebrate your 40th anniversary together? By setting another trap for jordan?

Nikki: I can’t think of a better way.

Victoria: Well, I hope you’re beginning to see now that the newman family is not exactly a normal family.

Claire: No, but they are smart, and strong, and put family first, which makes me even more thrilled and proud to be a part of it all.

Victoria: Well, claire and i are going to head to the jazz lounge. I wanna show it to her. It’ll be her first time. Would you like to join us?

Nikki: You’re going to love it. The man it honors was a very special friend of ours.

Victoria: Yeah. So are you in?

Nikki: Yes, I think an evening at the jazz lounge is perfect for all of us. Just what we need.

Victor: I think that’s a wonderful idea. Why don’t you take cole along?

Victoria: Sure. Um, we’re gonna head back to the tack house, and we’ll change her, and we’ll meet you back here.

Victor: Great. Sweetheart, I’m gonna make a phone call. I’ll be right there.

Nikki: All right.

Audra: You know, I tried to avoid ashley, but she called me over, and she was acting like, I don’t– she was frantic, you know, and the things that she was saying, that she’s out to get you, I couldn’t make sense of it.

Tucker: “She” meaning ashley is out to get me?

Audra: Unless she was talking about someone else. She kept talking about herself in the third person. You know, that she kept telling me to keep you away from her, that she was gonna hurt you.

Tucker: Hurt me how?

Audra: I have no idea. Anything could have been going on up there. And– and then you show up, and she pulls it together, and claims that she was just drinking too much, that she was just messing with me.

Tucker: She might have been.

Audra: Oh, come on. You don’t believe that any more than I do.

[ Door opens ]

Ashley: This has got to stop. I’ve got to get that kid in line before she ruins everything. [ Exhales slowly ] Wake up! Wake up! [ Grunting ] We have to get something straight, you little brat!

Deacon: Stop! Stop! Ten toes! There’s ten toes! Do something! Ten toes!

Carl: Please, that’s very hot!

Steffy: It is the end of sheila carter. I mean, now that the memorial service is over, we can finally return to our normal lives. At least, I hope.

Ridge: You went to hell and back because of that deranged woman.

Steffy: Yeah, just the terror that sheila spread. And not just here in L.A. In genoa city, too.

Ridge: Genoa city. I was getting– did I miss lauren fenmore? Because I was gonna talk to her about how relieved she must be about the whole sheila thing.

Steffy: I know she is relieved, we’re all relieved. She just never thought that we’d be rid of sheila. But it happened.

Ridge: We can all take a deep breath now, right?

Steffy: Yeah, we can.

Ridge: All of us.

Steffy: All of us.

Ridge: Does that include finn? Why would he go to that memorial? Why did hope go? I thought it was just gonna be deacon.

Steffy: Well, supposedly hope went because of deacon. And finn… I don’t know, dad. It’s complicated.

Ridge: Is it?

Steffy: Yeah.

Ridge: Are you okay with him going and saying a final goodbye? It’S…

Steffy: I really don’t know–

Ridge: You don’t know?

Steffy: How I feel right now.

Ridge: So there’s more?

Steffy: I just think that sheila messed with my husband’s head. And he’s just dealing with a lot. But now that sheila’s gone, I hope his connection to sheila is gone, too.

Hope: I mean, you know you’re nothing like her.

Finn: Yeah, I know that. I do. I could never do the things that sheila did. Cause that much pain and suffering.

Hope: Oh, you’re kind of the complete opposite. You are kind, you are caring, you are compassionate.

Finn: Yeah, yeah, but yet here I am. I’m trying to make sense of my conflicted emotions. Right, thanks for being here, hope, and letting me open up to you about all this.

Hope: Well, you said you’d never judge me, so I’m not about to start judging you.

Finn: No, you’re one of the least judgmental people I know. In fact, I think you’re one of the nicest people I know.

Hope: Well, you better not let your wife hear you say that, because I’m pretty sure steffy wants to run me out of town for ruining her brother’s life.

Finn: Ah, you didn’t ruin thomas’ life. He’ll bounce back from this.

Hope: I hope so. He deserves to be happy.

Finn: Yeah, but so do you. I’m serious, hope. You did the right thing not accepting thomas’ proposal.

Hope: Well, I– I couldn’T. Don’t get me wrong, I care about him deeply, and I always will. I just, I couldn’T… I didn’t want to get married again. I mean, so soon. Especially with…

Finn: With what?

Hope: Look, I don’t want you to take this the wrong way, but my mother has been married more times than I have fingers to count on, I’m pretty sure. And I just– I didn’t want that for myself.

Finn: So, you’re saying there’s no chance for you and thomas?

Hope: I can’t really say. I don’t know. I– I’m not sure. All I know is that right now, I am concentrating on my line, myself, and my little girl.

Finn: That– that sounds like good medicine to me.

Steffy: Yeah, dad, the truth is I– I am upset that finn went to sheila’s memorial service. But I told him that I wasn’t gonna stand in his way. I just– I don’t want any more things coming between us.

Ridge: I get that. The two of you have been through a lot.

Steffy: Yeah. I just wanna be able to concentrate on my marriage. My husband, our family. There’s been so much drama lately. It’s time to move on with our lives.

Ridge: Without the psycho birth mother.

Steffy: Yeah. That’s when I think about all the things she’s done. She showed up at my wedding reception, and then she shot us, and then she breaks into my home. I mean, it goes on and on.

Ridge: All right, don’t do that. You did the only thing you could’ve done. Everyone knows that. Even finn.

Steffy: Even though I– you know how much I hated sheila. But it is really hard for me to know that like I did– I killed–

Baker: Well, I’m glad the both of you are here together. We need to talk about sheila carter.

Deacon: This– this can’t be. This– this, this can’t be.

Carl: Sharpe, what is it?

Deacon: No, no, no, no, no. I– I’m freaking out, man. No, my eyes are playing tricks on me. I saw–

Carl: Okay, okay. Why don’t you have seat?

Deacon: No, I don’t wanna sit down, I–

Carl: Okay, okay. I’ll bring you some water.

Deacon: No, I– I swear I saw ten toes in there! What the– what the? (Vo) struggling with moderate to severe crohn’s disease

Finn: So how’s, um, beth handling douglas not being around?

Hope: She misses him. Almost as much as I do.

Finn: Ah, he’s a terrific kid.

Hope: He really is. But now he is with his dad in paris, a million miles away. At least it feels that way.

Finn: You worried about him?

Hope: Well, I am a mother, after all. I mean, that’s what I do best. I will always worry about him, but he has an awesome dad. And I know that he will take care of him, and they will both take care of each other.

Finn: Well, douglas, you know, he’s always been an extremely mature kid for his age. He’s honest to a fault. I think he gets that from you.

Hope: No. Well, that’s sweet of you to say.

Finn: I’m serious, hope. I mean, you set an extraordinary example for douglas. You know, for any kid.

Hope: I just want him to come home. It hasn’t really been the same since he left, uh… but I’m not going to put any pressure on him or thomas. I am going to give them as much time as they need. I’m not going to contest this situation just yet.

Finn: And you don’t want douglas getting caught in the middle?

Hope: No, and he– he asked for that, he… look, he’s– he’s mature. I have to trust that he knows what’s best for him right now, and he knows I’m just a phone call or text away.

Finn: Well, you’ve always been a guardian angel for him, right? Whenever he’s needed it, even when he hasn’t, so. And in my book, I think that makes douglas a truly lucky kid.

Hope: Thank you. I– I, uh, needed to hear that.

Finn: So, I, um, I have something I wanna ask you.

Hope: Okay.

Finn: And it’s very important to me. I want you to promise me something.

Steffy: You’re here about sheila.

Baker: Yes.

Steffy: What about her?

Baker: Are you aware that deacon sharpe had a memorial service for her at his restaurant? I take it neither of you attended?

Ridge: No. Why would we do that?

Baker: Well, I doubt many others did either, considering her reputation.

Steffy: Chief baker, could you just tell us what’s– what’s going on?

Baker: Oh, yes, of course, um… I want to go back to that night for a moment, when sheila broke into your home.

Ridge: Can we not do that?

Steffy: Dad, just let him say what he has to say.

Ridge: No, I don’t want him upsetting you.

Baker: That’s not my intention. Quite the opposite, actually.

Steffy: What do you mean, opposite?

Baker: Yes, I just got the word. The position of the state of california and the city of los angeles is that you were acting in self-defense that night. Especially considering your history with sheila.

Steffy: So, no charges have been brought?

Baker: That’s exactly what it means.

Ridge: So– so everything that happened, this whole chapter, everything’s behind us?

Baker: Yes. As far as the authorities are concerned, steffy is not liable for sheila carter’s death.

Steffy: Oh, my god.

Deacon: I know what I saw. I know what I saw. I know what I saw. She had ten toes. She had ten toes. She had ten toes and that wasn’t sheila. There were ten toes in there. There were ten.

Carl: I brought you some water.

Deacon: Look, I…

Carl: I thought, I’m sorry that you reacted this way. Sometimes, it’s not great to have the family participate–

Deacon: No, that’s not it. I saw ten toes in there!

Carl: It’s best if you go home. You seem very agitated and upset.

Deacon: I am agitated and upset because I think I’m losing my mind!

Carl: Okay. What can I do? How can I help you?

Deacon: Okay, you’re the one who did this, right?

Carl: Did what?

Deacon: You embalmed sheila. You’re responsible, right?

Carl: Yes, but–

Deacon: Okay, I need you to give me some answers because I think I’m losing my mind! I need your help, please! Please help me! Before my doctor and I chose breztri

Hope: You want me to promise you something?

Finn: It’s not as ominous as it seems, okay? Trust me. It’s just– look, we’re friends, right?

Hope: Of course.

Finn: And we want what’s best for each other. We care for each other, and whatever that might turn out to be.

Hope: Where are you going with this, finn?

Finn: It actually has to do with what happened with you and thomas, and the way steffy reacted.

Hope: You mean, uh, steffy not wanting me to be with her brother because she thinks I’m not good enough for him?

Finn: Well, the truth is– is I mean, I didn’t want you with him either. Not because you weren’t good enough for thomas, but because thomas wasn’t good enough for you.

Hope: Okay, so…

Finn: Okay, look, I guess what I’m saying is… our families are interconnected. We need to get along. And you and steffy especially. I mean, you guys work together, you practically see each other every day at forrester.

Hope: Yeah, we have a bit of a problematic history.

Finn: Well, that’s mainly because of liam, right? And people wanna make you guys out to be rivals because of that. It’s the same way your mom and taylor were for all those years. But you and steffy, you don’t need to fall into that same pattern. You are two strong, amazing women who should be supporting each other. Look, what I’m asking is just don’t hold a grudge against steffy for what went down with thomas. Things happen for a reason. Thomas is gone. Who knows who you’re gonna share your life with.

Hope: So, you just want me to promise you to be open to any possibility.

Finn: Exactly. Look, mr. Right, he might be waiting in the wings as we speak. Maybe someone unexpected, but maybe someone you know. I mean, look, that’s the beauty of life. It’s the mystery and the surprises that await us. I mean, look at steffy and me. I mean, she’s so different than any woman that I’d ever met. But one look at her, and I just knew. And the same thing can happen for you, if you let it.

Steffy: I’ve been cleared. I’ve been cleared.

Ridge: We all knew you would be. It’s all in your past now.

Steffy: Oh, god, you have no idea how much I wanted this. I never want to go through something like that ever again.

Ridge: You don’t have to. Sheila’s dead, never to return.

Sheila: Yeah, she’s dead, but in my mind she’s still there. Like, she still haunts me and i think about all the things that she’s done to me.

Ridge: Well, the only good thing she’s ever done was give birth to your husband.

Steffy: Yeah, a son that she’s never deserved.

Ridge: And you know what? It would’ve been better for him not to find out that that was his mother. What’s the good in that? He finds out that she pretended she was killed by bears, she cuts off her own toe. Who does that?

Deacon: I need some answers.

Carl: I’ll do what I can, but I need you to calm down first. I can’t have you grabbing me.

Deacon: Okay. I’m calm. I’m calm, okay? I need you to tell me what is going on.

Carl: I’ve explained this several times. The cremation process is–

Deacon: No, I get– get all of that! That’s not what I’m talking about! I need you to tell me what is going on. What is going on here, man? Tell me! (Clapping)

Finn: I just– I hate seeing you and steffy at odds. You’re better than that. And if it sounds like I’m looking out for my wife, yes, you bet I am. But I’m also looking out for you, hope.

Hope: Steffy is fortunate to have you.

Finn: Well, I’m fortunate to have her. She’s everything I could ever want.

Hope: Well, I’m sure she says the same about you, finn. I mean, look at you. You’re the total package. You’re a doctor, you’re smart, you’re charming, you’re handsome, you’re stable, you’re compassionate, you’re stable. People can rely on you. I mean, your actions would never hurt steffy or the kids.

Finn: No, of course, not. I mean, they’re my life. They’re the best part of my life.

Hope: Okay. I heard you. I will take what you have asked of me into consideration. I mean, in a perfect world, I would love not to be at odds with steffy or dredge up old animosities. But she did stick her nose in my business, just saying. But, um, yeah. I do want everyone to get along, too.

Finn: Good, see, I had a feeling you’d say that.

Hope: Gosh, you really did find the perfect profession, didn’t you? I mean, you just– you heal people. I– I myself feel much better after this unexpected doctor’s appointment, so… thank you.

Finn: You’re welcome.

Steffy: Oh, god, I just remember seeing sheila’s toe in that evidence container. It was just so disgusting. Like, the length that lunatic was willing to go. My god.

Ridge: Hey, we don’t have to worry about nine-toed sheila ever again.

Carl: I realize this is a difficult time and how upsetting the cremation process is.

Deacon: That’s not what I’m talking about. Yes, I mean, of course, the thought of sheila going through that creeps me out. But listen to me, what if it wasn’t her?

Carl: What?

Deacon: What if that wasn’t sheila that you were doing that to?

Carl: I don’t know what you’re saying, mr. Sharpe. It doesn’t make any sense!

Deacon: Okay, listen to me. My fiancée, sheila carter, you worked on her, right?

Carl: Yes.

Deacon: You did repairs to her, right?

Carl: Repairs?

Deacon: Yes, I mean, didn’t you do little enhancements, you know? Okay, I know you guys doll them up, right? You know, you put makeup on them and you fix their hair to make them more presentable, right?

Carl: Yes, but I still don’t know what you’re getting at.

Deacon: Would you ever, you know, add an appendage if one was missing?

Carl: An appendage?

Deacon: Yes, like a digit, you know?

Carl: A digit?

Deacon: Yes. Specifically, a right middle toe. Sheila was missing her right middle toe. Did you?

Carl: Absolutely not. We would never do anything like that.

[ Cell phone rings ]

Carl: I’m sorry. I need to take this.

Deacon: My eyes have gotta be playing tricks on me. Ten toes. Ten toes. I don’t care what you say. I saw ten toes.

Recap written by Suzanne

Audra sits in her bed in Tucker’s hotel room. He calls from the shower for her to join him. She has a flashback to when he asked him to marry her. When he comes out, she is gone. Downstairs, Ashley’s teen personality orders a martini at the bar, but she tastes it and thinks it’s gross. She tries to force herself to drink it. She sees Audra and tells her that she has to warn Tucker that “she” is out to get him. She also says, “I’m not who you think I am.” Audra is very confused by whatever Ashley is saying. Ashley’s personality changes in front of her and claims that she’s just drunk because she had too many drinks and no food. Audra’s not sure what to think. When Tucker comes down, they all have a tense conversation. Ashley leaves. Audra fills him in on what happened.

Ashley goes back to her room and starts arguing with her other two personalities. We see them in a big white room with three beds.  The teen Ashley is sleeping, so she yells at her to wake up, saying they have to get something straight.

Chance meets Summer for drinks. He fills her in on Daniel getting fired, so she phones Daniel and leaves a message. They discuss Lily firing him for a minute. Chance is tense from work, so they go upstairs. She wants to give him a massage. This leads to sex, of course. They chat for a bit about Claire before heading back downstairs for the drinks.

Claire moves in to the tack house with Victoria. She’s very excited to be joining her family. Victoria is a bit upset because she’s remember her house that burned down. She tells Claire all about it, and how she’d imagined Claire being part of their family, too. Victoria lets her choose her own room. Claire still has the books Victoria gave her and calls them her “most prized possessions.” They hug.

At home, Nikki drinks some vodka and then hides it in her purse. Victor comes up and tells her that he heard that a man sent her a drink while she was at Society with Jack. She thinks Jordan had something to do with it. Victor wants to take a tropical vacation for their 40th wedding anniversary, but she insists that they have a big party, instead, and use it to trap Jordan once and for all. He thinks it’s very risky, but she talks him into it, so he arranges it. Victoria and Claire drop by, so she fills them in about the party. They were on their way to the Jazz Lounge and invite her, and Victor invites himself as well. He suggests that Victoria invite Cole, too, so she agrees.

Recap written by Suzanne

Deacon freaks out about seeing ten toes on Sheila’s body as it goes into the crematorium (since he knows she only had nine). He tries to question the attendant about it, but the guy can barely understand what Deacon is asking and thinks he’s just upset about her being cremated. The attendant does tell him that they don’t add any missing appendages when they embalm the body.

Steffy and Ridge are glad that they don’t have to put up with Sheila any more. They discuss Finn going to the memorial. She hopes that’s the end of his connection to Sheila. Chief Baker arrives and lets them know that Steffy’s case is officially closed. They have ruled that she shot Sheila in self defense. Steffy and Ridge are glad to hear it.

Hope and Finn chat after the memorial. She compliments him as she says that he’s the opposite of Sheila. He compliments her right back and says that he thinks she did the right thing not to marry Thomas. She admits that she didn’t want to be like her mom and get married again, too soon. However, she misses Douglas. He asks her to promise that she’ll be open to the possibility of love with someone else. She agrees to that, and to get along with Steffy. He thinks that she can find love the same way he and Steffy did.
