Steffy: I heard what you said, bill, and I can see it in your eyes. The two women you care about most in the world hurt you, rejected you. And along comes sheila because that’s what she does. She senses vulnerability and she preys on it. Sheila is a dangerous psychopath who should never see the light of day again. Thank god you finally realized it.

Sheila: I don’t understand. Why am I here?

Officer: The visitation room? Gee, I wonder.

Sheila: Is he tall, dark and handsome?

Officer: Maybe in his dreams.

[ Buzzer sounding ]

Mike: Of all the gin joints in all the towns.

Sheila: Mike, what are you doing here?

[ Knocking on door ]

Li: How are you on this fabulous day?

Finn: Hey, mom.

Li: I came over as soon as I heard the wonderful news. Sheila carter’s been captured.

Li: I saw the news online and couldn’t believe what I was reading.

Finn: Yeah, it’s true. Sheila’s back in custody.

Li: Thank god. The thought of that woman on the loose, unhinged and desperate? After everything, being locked up behind bars is exactly what she deserves.

Sheila: How’d you get in here to see me?

Mike: I made some friends, I pulled some strings so I could see you face to beautiful face.

[ Sheila chuckling ] So, it finally caught up with you, huh?

Sheila: It’s only temporary. I am not gonna be in here very long.

Steffy: Last night really worried me, that you would even think of turning my mother in for shooting you to keep sheila out of prison. Blackmail finn and me. I didn’t understand why and I– I still don’T. But thankfully, you reconsidered. You called 9-1-1 and now sheila is behind bars where she belongs. I just wanna make sure we’re good. That you’re no longer threatening my mother and you never will again. Okay everyone, our mission is complete balanced nutrition.

Li: It’s such a relief to know that sheila’s not out in the world stalking her next victim. That woman should never walk free. I’ve seen how evil she is.

Finn: I hate to think how terrified you must have been when she found us.

Li: It wasn’t a good night.

[ Li grunting ] Let go! Ah! Like you love finn. Not like his real mother does. No, get off!

[ Car honking ] Back off, you crazy bitch!

[ Crashing ]

[ Li shouting ]

Finn: I’ll never forgive her. Sheila shot my wife, she forced your car off a bridge where it bursts into flames. If she had it her way, you’d both be dead.

Li: Thankfully, bill spencer found me. He saved me. Flew you to monaco so you could reunite with steffy, and now he’s done another wonderful thing. Bill’s responsible for sheila being back in custody.

Mike: What did you mean when– when you said you wouldn’t be staying here that long.

Sheila: It’s true.

Mike: I wouldn’t recommend a breakout on your own. Prison officials will be watching you. They still have egg on their face from the last time you escaped, with my help, I might add.

Sheila: I remember that. Don’t worry, I will take your advice. I won’t try to escape. I won’t have to.

Mike: So, what are you going to do? Flash that beautiful smile at some other guard as you just sail out the door? Hell, it’d probably work. Aim it at me, you can have anything I got.

Sheila: Oh, and what exactly would that be?

Mike: Well, unfortunately, not much at the moment.

Sheila: Yeah, but your heart is in the right place, mike.

Mike: I’m sorry you ended up back here, but I’m happy for me. It’s no secret that I love you, sheila. Now, we’re finally together, sort of.

Sheila: And well, enjoy it while you can because my days in this hellhole are numbered.

Steffy: I’m not trying to justify what my mother did, but there were extenuating circumstances back then. My mom wasn’t in her right mind. We both know why. Look, I don’t wanna rehash all of that. That’s a night I’m always gonna regret. Right now, I need to focus on my mother and the extreme way she reacted.

Bill: By putting a bullet in my back.

Steffy: You said you were going to stay quiet.

Bill: And I have.

Steffy: I just wanna make sure that you intend to keep your word. My mother is not like sheila. She came here to confront you about me unarmed. She shot you with your own gun in a spontaneous moment. You know my mother. She is a good person, she helps people. She tried to help sheila. She saved her life.

Bill: Sheila did the same for taylor.

Steffy: Are you kidding? My mom was dangling off a side of a roof so she could stop sheila from jumping! My mom tried to help a woman who is beyond it! Maybe that was what you were trying to do last night. You were trying to help her, you were trying to defend her. I don’t know and I– I– I don’T. I don’t want to know, but bill, think about all the people she’s hurt. The people you care about. Sheila belongs behind bars and she should never be free again.

Bill: I hear what you’re saying.

Steffy: You do?

Bill: Yes, I do.

Music (“I swear”) plays

Li: The news said sheila was at bill’s house when she was arrested. What was she doing there?

Finn: Well, it seems like she’s got some kind of history with everyone we know.

Li: Oh, thank you. Not that it matters. The only thing that matters is that she’s finally back in custody. No longer a threat to you, steffy or my precious grandson.

Finn: Well, if there’s anyone who should never see the light of day again, it’s sheila.

Li: She’s out of your life, son. You don’t have to think about sheila again.

Finn: I hope not.

Li: I get it. She’s a criminal mastermind. It’s hard to believe someone like that can be stopped. I still have nightmares about what she did to you, not knowing if you survived. Seeing you in that hospital bed so far from me, all I could do was keep your body alive and pray you come back. Then suddenly, sheila’s there.

Finn: I’m so sorry, mom.

Li: It’s all right. It’s okay. I’m just so grateful you’re here. You’re alive, strong, brave and beautiful. Evil does not get to triumph.

Mike: Oh, sheila, sheila, sheila. Take it from somebody who knows, the sooner you accept your fate, the better off you’ll be.

Guard: Hey, mike. Wrap it up. I can’t get into trouble.

Mike: Yeah, yeah. Look, I’ll be thinking of you in my cell. Think of me too. I know this isn’t what you would’ve chosen, but I’m all you got. We’re finally together. Maybe for the rest of our lives.

Sheila: I– I hate to disappoint you again, but that’s not gonna happen. You see, I’ve got connections of my own.

Steffy: You’re actually hearing me.

Bill: I am.

Steffy: Sheila is dangerous. She belongs in jail, not my mom.

Bill: I hear what you’re saying loud and clear, and you’re right about all of it. Everything she’s done in the past. She’s hurt so many people, destroyed so many lives.

Steffy: Yes. Yes. You don’t know the enormous relief it is to hear you say that. So, we agree? Sheila will pay for her crimes and you won’t say anything about my mother shooting you.

Bill: Well, here’s the thing. I’ve hurt people too, only to be filled with remorse after the fact, once I– once I realized all the thoughtless damage that I’d done. That’s why I understand sheila. That’s why I know that no matter what I do, I could never hurt her.

Steffy: Wait, bill. What are you saying? Overactive bladder? I’ve been there.

[ Sheila sighing ]

Sheila: Why am I still here?

Officer: We keeping you from something?

Sheila: Well, you’re normally in such a rush to get me back to my luxury accommodations.

Officer: You’re popular today. You got another visitor.

Sheila: Did they give you a name?

Officer: I’m not your assistant.

Sheila: Are you always this grumpy? Well, isn’t this a delightful surprise?

Li: Couldn’t pass up the opportunity to see you in your natural habitat. Blue isn’t your color, by the way.

Sheila: Your timing is excellent, li. I was starting to get lonely.

Li: Get used to it. You’re going to be very lonely here for the rest of your miserable life.

Sheila: You’re so confident.

Li: I am. You may have escaped once with the help of your partner in crime, but mike guthrie is behind bars too. There’s no way out this time, sheila. And no one’s happier about it than me.

Sheila: Oh, I think steffy might be enjoying the moment as well.

Li: Yeah, well, finn’s pretty thrilled too, now that you’re no longer a threat to his wife and son. We’ve all been waiting for this day.

Sheila: And what day is that, li?

Li: Judgement day. Where you will finally be held accountable for your crimes. Evil never triumphs. You shot my son.

Sheila: Our son.

Li: That just makes it more despicable, doesn’t it? You shot steffy, ran me off the road and almost killed me, so you bet I had to come feast my eyes on this glorious sight. Sheila carter behind bars, where you’re going to be for the rest of your life.

[ Sheila laughing ]

Steffy: What is happening, bill? You told me I was right about sheila, that you heard me.

Bill: I do hear you. And you’re right. But there’s one very important thing you’re not taking into account. And that is the… the emptiness in my heart. I’ve somehow managed to hurt every woman that I have ever loved. I need someone who can handle me. A woman I can’t hurt. A woman who will stay, like sheila.

Steffy: Bill, what is wrong with you? You are talking crazy right now. I get that you’re hurting. I get that you feel rejected by katie and by brooke. You feel lonely and misunderstood, but for god’s sake, bill, sheila is not the answer.

Bill: Yes, she is.

Steffy: No, she’s not! Are you kidding? A– are you kidding right now? That you would even entertain the thought of turning my mother in for shooting you in favor of sheila! You consider being with that woman? I need you to assure me that my mother is safe. That I have your word that you are not going to say anything to anyone, especially the police. Bill. Bill, please. Please do not do this. She is going to use you. She’ll use you and move on to her next victim.

Sheila: And don’t forget what this represents to you. The power. I love you so much, bill.

[ Bill sniffling ]

Bill: I will not let sheila spend the rest of her life in prison. If you and finn press charges, taylor pays for her crime. Sheila’s life for your mother’s freedom. That is my deal.

Steffy: Sheila is pure evil! Bill, you’re devoting yourself to her. You’re blackmailing me. You’re threatening my mother’s happiness and freedom. Sheila terrorized my mother.

Brooke: Look, I just need you to understand and respect that you and I are not going to be together, even though when we were, it was very magical. It’s just not going to happen again.

Katie: Would I like to reconcile with you and be a family again and spend my life with you? Yes, that’s what I’ve always wanted. I know you love me.

Bill: Of course, I do.

Katie: But you also love my sister. And that’s something that I can’t live with. Goodbye, bill.

Sheila: I love you so much, bill. I’m yours for life.

Steffy: Bill has lost his mind. How can he be aligning himself with sheila?

Finn: To wrap my head around that…

Steffy: Thankou.

Finn: Here. I know you didn’t sleep.

Steffy: Yeah. I’m too worried about what this could mean for my mom.

Finn: I know, and then we find out on the news last night that sheila was arrested?

Steffy: Sheila’s behind bars where she belongs, but who called the police.

Finn: Well, obviously not us.

Steffy: Thanks to bill with his quid pro quo. We keep sheila out of jail or bill will expose my mother for shooting him.

Finn: Whoa.

Steffy: What?

Finn: Bill was the one who turned sheila in.

Steffy: Bill?

Finn: Yeah. That’s what it says.

Steffy: Hopefully that means that he’s finally come to his senses.

Carter: Are they sure it’s sheila?

Katie: They’re saying it’s her. That sheila carter is in custody. Minus one toe.

Carter: I don’t want to be a skeptic, but I’d hate for all of us to be fooled.

Katie: I don’t think it’s a rumor. I’m looking at like, four different websites and… and the police just confirmed. Sheila carter is in custody.

Carter: So, bill called 9-1-1 and had sheila apprehended. Why was she even over there in the first place?

[ Door unlatching ]

Liam: Dad! We were worried about you.

Bill: I told you guys on the phone last night.

Wyatt: You said like two words!

Bill: I was– I was tired. But um… I’m good. Nothing to worry about.

Liam: Nothing to worry– oh, he says there’s nothing to worry about.

Wyatt: You had a homicidal maniac literally in your house.

Bill: She’s gone now.

Liam: Yeah, that’s great, but why was she here in the first place?

Wyatt: Dad, why was sheila here? What’s going on?

Steffy: I am so confused. Bill was over here with sheila acting like some lovesick teenager, and then he hands her over to the police?

Finn: Yeah, it a pretty big 180.

Steffy: Seriously. He stops us from calling the cops and then he goes ahead and does it himself?

Finn: You think sheila could’ve threatened him? I mean, maybe they got into it on the drive back home.

Sheila: Anything’s possible.

Finn: Maybe sheila put him up to the whole thing.

Steffy: I’m hoping that’s the case, but bill’s not one to be easily manipulated, so.

Finn: So then, I guess he just woke up.

Steffy: I need to find out and see if bill is dropping this whole horrible blackmail scheme. Sometimes you’re so busy taking care of everyone else

Katie: Well, one thing’s for sure. I did not have sheila gets arrested at bill’s house on my bingo card.

Carter: Tell me about it. And what was she doing there? Did she break in? Could bill have gotten hurt?

Katie: I don’t know. I thank god he didn’T. I mean, thank god will wasn’t there. I mean, the woman is unhinged. She could’ve shown up at any of our houses. Thank god we ramped up security.

Carter: Even then, you never know.

Katie: No, you’re right. Bill has 24 hour security and– and the place is like a fortress. Clearly, it didn’t help him.

Carter: Thankfully, she’s exactly where she belongs.

Katie: Yes. We will all rest easier knowing she is curled up in a cold, hard cell.

Carter: Mm. I think we might have to do some celebrating later.

Katie: Oh, yeah. I think we’ll be celebrating tonight.

Carter: Okay, I just can’t get this out of my head. I’m curious how it all happened. Aren’t you?

Katie: I’m gonna have to talk to bill, get all the details. One thing’s for sure, he’s gonna get a big thank you from all of us. He’s a hero for catching sheila.

Liam: Dad, what was sheila carter even doing here?

Bill: Now, let’s go over this one more time just to make sure we are absolutely clear. I’m gonna tell them that you showed up here, desperately pleading your case, I shut you down and called the cops. That’s our story. Now, you’re going to be in jail for a bit, that’s a necessary step. I will then do everything in my power to get you out. And you will be a free woman again and we could be together.

Sheila: You don’t know how much I’m counting on that.

Bill: This is bill spencer. Sheila carter is in my home. Hurry! She’s gotta be apprehended. Hurry!

Wyatt: Dad, where’d you go just now? Come on. We want to know why sheila was here.

Bill: She uh, she just showed up, you know? Pleading her case. So, I held onto her and I called 9-1-1.

Wyatt: That’s insane because you’re literally like the last person who would ever feel sympathy for her.

Liam: Exactly. Why– why would she put her freedom at risk by coming here? What the hell was she thinking?

Bill: Can’t answer that.

Wyatt: Clearly, she was desperate.

Liam: So desperate.

Wyatt: Right?

Liam: We literally thought that she kidnapped you.

Wyatt: Yeah, and as soon as we found the earring and the wig and everything, we knew she was here.

Bill: Yeah, you mentioned that last night.

Wyatt: Yeah, which is why we had to call chief baker immediately and tell him everything we found.

Liam: Yeah, and oh, by the way, by the way, where were you when we showed up last night? ‘Cause we looked everywhere. We searched the entire house.

Wyatt: Yeah, and your car was gone. Where were you, dad?

Finn: How could bill have even considered siding with sheila?

Steffy: Some kind of psychotic break.

Finn: Well, it sure looked like something was going on between those two.

Steffy: Ugh. Just the thought of sheila and bill together grosses me out. Like, what is he thinking? He knows about all the despicable things she’s done.

Finn: She shot you.

Steffy: She shot you. Her own son!

Finn: Well luckily, my real mom was able to nurse me back to health.

Steffy: Sheila tried to kill li. She ran her off the road, into the ocean. Like, my god, finn. I don’t–

Finn: Look, we’re finally getting some justice, right?

Steffy: Look, it is comforting that sheila is behind bars, but something– something feels off. First, bill says that we need to show sheila mercy, and that we have to be quiet about them or my mom goes to prison, and then look what he does. Like, it doesn’t make sense.

Finn: Yeah. Well, maybe bill just realized how delusional he was being.

Steffy: Or it’s some part of his grand plan.

Finn: You really think so?

Steffy: I don’t know. But please, do not say anything about bill and his blackmail. It’s just– it’s too risky.

Finn: Come here. It’s gonna be okay.

Steffy: I hope– I don’t–

Finn: It’s gonna be okay. I’m not gonna let anything bad happen to our family.

Steffy: Oh, god. And now please welcome ana montoya.

Katie: Well, brooke is ecstatic. She heard the news. Can’t believe it.

Carter: I never thought I’d say this about bill spencer, but I agree with you. He’s a hero. He saved the day. He could’ve saved someone’s life possibly.

Katie: I mean, who knows what sheila would’ve done next.

Carter: Scared to think who her next target might’ve been.

Katie: It’s game over now. I’m sure chief baker was more than happy to throw the book at her. And now, she’ll never see the light of day again. Thanks to bill.

Carter: And bill’s the one to make sheila finally pay for her crimes. Who would’ve thought?

Katie: Oh, I’m sure we’re gonna hear about this for years and years. He’ll tell this story over and over again about how he single handedly took down sheila carter.

Carter: Hey, bill’s the reason we don’t have to worry about her anymore. I say let the man boast. He’s earned it.

Katie: I mean, face to face with a violent felon, I don’t know what I would’ve done if she had showed up at my place. I would’ve freaked out. I mean, especially living all by myself.

Carter: That’s when you come to my place.

Katie: Well, you did vow to keep me and my family safe.

Carter: And I meant it. I know you don’t need protecting.

Katie: No, I appreciate it. I always feel safe with you.

Wyatt: Dad, where were you last night?

Bill: Out.

Liam: Oh, my god. What if sheila was here while we were over? Like hiding?

Wyatt: Oh, wow.

Bill: All– all right, look. Bottom line, I took care of sheila.

Wyatt: Well, thank god you got that lunatic out of here.

Bill: I don’t know that I would call her a lunatic.

Wyatt: Okay, how about crazy? How about murderous psycho? I don’t know.

Bill: What– whatever. She’s, uh, she’s in custody.

Liam: Because of you.

Bill: E– enough already.

Liam: No, no, no, no. Let’s not minimize that. I mean, what you did took bravery, right? It’s sheila.

Wyatt: Society owes you a huge favor. Think of all the lives that she almost ruined.

Liam: Finn, steffy, taylor, brooke. I mean, all of them owe you now.

Bill: All right, boys– boys. Really. Um, you know I’m– I’m just really tired. I– I didn’t sleep much last night.

Liam: Well, yeah. I mean, I– I– I– I could barely imagine what you must have gone through with sheila.

Wyatt: Yeah, seriously, dad. She could’ve snapped. She could’ve done something to really hurt you. We we’re concerned.

Bill: Sheila carter will never hurt me. But I, um, I really appreciate your concern. I’m fine. Everything’s going to be fine.

Finn: Look, bill and sheila, it’s totally illogical.

Steffy: I get that bill feels rejected, but this is next level. To side with sheila is a death wish. She’s gonna go down and she’s gonna bring him with her.

Finn: Then nothing good could come from it. That’s for sure.

Steffy: I should go talk to him.

Finn: All right. I’ll come with you.

Steffy: No. I think it’s best if I go alone.

Finn: Steffy, bill has been acting so strangely. That makes me nervous.

Steffy: I– I get that and I love you for being so supportive and caring, but I can handle this. I can. I’m gonna stay calm, play it smart and set aside that he’s blackmailing my mother.

Finn: It’s risky.

Steffy: I know. I won’t do anything rile him up.

Finn: Look, it’s just… I don’t trust the guy. Okay? But, I believe in you. So, just promise me that you’ll be careful and call me immediately if you need backup, okay?

[ Phone pinging ]

Sheila: Remember the power this represents to you. You take no prisoners. You win at all costs.

Steffy: Bill.

Bill: Steffy?

Steffy: I need to talk to you about last night.

Bill: Not a good time.

Steffy: What happened last night shocked me. When you showed up, when sheila was there, saying the things that you did, threatening my mother to protect sheila.

Bill: I covered for taylor for years, steffy.

Steffy: And we’re grateful for that, but why the sudden shift? What’s driving this? Finn and I heard that you called the police on sheila. Is that true?

Bill: Yes.

Steffy: Does that mean you’ve come to your senses? Sheila is dangerous. She’s evil. Pure evil. She stalked my family for years. She shot brooke, she shot my mom. Bill, she shot me and finn.

Bill: I haven’t forgotten.

Steffy: I’m not sure what kind of relationship formed between the two of you, but yesterday, I was convinced that you were actually developing feelings for her. But now, she’s in jail. There’s no future with her because we will be– we will be pressing full charges. Attempted murder charges. Look, my only hope is that– bill, are you okay? Hey, look at me. I know you. You didn’t mean what you said. Does sheila have something on you? Is she blackmailing you? What other explanation can there be? You can’t have real feelings for a woman like her. She is totally deranged. Look, I know you feel hurt and abandoned by katie and brooke. By all of us. Maybe we should’ve been more sensitive to your feelings. Please tell me this isn’t true. Please tell me you are not turning to sheila. You said something last night regarding going public about my mother shooting you here, in this very room, all those years ago. Bill, please don’t do that. You cannot side with sheila. She is dangerous and psychotic. Please, for your own sake. For all of our sakes. You can’t do it.

Steffy: Oh, my god. Oh, my god, this is insane. Your arm, it’s around sheila. You’re acting like this is the most normal thing in the world.

Bill: Do as I say and things will be normal again. You and finn will have your lives back. Taylor will maintain her freedom, and sheila and i will go on with our lives, together.

Sheila: I know what a shock this must be to you, sweetheart, to find out about the two of us like this.

Finn: How did you two even get together?

Sheila: Some– sometimes love just finds its way.

Steffy: Oh, my god, enough of this. I am not hearing this anymore. You! You are horrible. Despicable. What kind of number has she done on you, bill? We’re not letting her get away scot free.

Bill: That’s exactly what you’re going to do.

Steffy: Excuse me?

Bill: No one is pressing charges against sheila. Unless you want your mother going to jail too.

Steffy: You’re blackmailing me? Threatening my mother’s freedom?

Liam: Okay. If this wig belongs to sheila carter like we think.

Wyatt: And this earring. And what was she doing in dad’s house? And how the hell did she even get in here? I mean, there’s a guard at the front gate, 24/7. There’s the additional security driving around.

Liam: Also, she’s totally psycho, so what on earth does she want with our father?

Wyatt: I don’t know. But he could be kidnapped right now. Or even worse, he could be dead. We need to call the cops.

Liam: Okay, well, hold on. We don’t– we don’t know anything yet. Can we just– can we just, like, search around and see if we find anything that gives us a clue what– what’s going on–

Wyatt: What are you talking about? We both know that dad has not been in a good place.

Liam: Okay. Can we maybe not go here right now? Just once, I’m just– fine.

Wyatt: What if we’re right and he’s at that whack job’s mercy right now?

Liam: Just look around. Look around. I’m going to talk to tony at the front gate, find out what he knows.

Wyatt: Fine.

Liam: All right, thank you. Anything?

Wyatt: Dad’s car is gone.

Liam: Yeah, I know, tony at the gate confirmed.

Wyatt: Well, did he say anything else? Was he with anyone? A woman?

Liam: No, he couldn’t say because it’s dad and, you know, dad and his tinted windows. Oh, get this, though. When I asked him about the security footage, he said the whole system was down because of the storm and the backup.

Wyatt: No, no, no. I don’t like this. I don’t like this at all. No, we called the office. We called dad. We left messages. Something is not right here. More and more, my gut is telling me that–

Liam: Wherever dad is, sheila is.

Sheila: Steffy, would you please just listen? Just do as he says.

Steffy: Shut up! Shut up! I don’t want to hear another word from you. You’ve done enough damage.

Bill: Something she has paid for repeatedly by being ostracized by everyone.

Steffy: Bill, listen to me. You can’t defend sheila. She is incapable of loving. She shot me. She is beyond dangerous. You know that. I know you wanted things to work out with brooke and with katie. It didn’T. And you felt alienated in other relationships. Relationships that were important to you. I get– I get how you’re hurt, but being involved with a sociopath, standing up for a woman who put a bullet in me, who put a bullet in her own son! She tried to kill li. I mean, li couldn’t even speak at first because she was so traumatized. Traumatized by sheila. You need to wake up. Sheila is a threat to anyone who gets close to her. You are going to prison. Oh, you thought– you thought you could latch on to another man, a very powerful man. And you thought it’d make everything all right. Bill, tell her. Tell her she’s wrong. Tell me you’re not standing up for her. Tell sheila this is the end of the road.

Steffy: Bill, she’s using you.

Bill: You’re not understanding what sheila has come to mean to me.

Steffy: Oh, she’s really gotten to you, hasn’t she?

Bill: We’ve been living together. I’ve seen a side of sheila that few ever do.

Steffy: Do you hear yourself right now? Do you even know what you’re saying?

Bill: I know that everyone has turned their backs on sheila as they have me. She’s been abandoned. So have I. Not that I didn’t give the people in my life good reason. I drove them away because I hurt them, but as I said, in sheila, I have found a woman that I can’t hurt.

Finn: What about the pain she will cause you? Bill, the damage she’s already doing.

Sheila: Bill and I are like two sides of the same coin. We understand one another. We know each other’s needs and desires. And I accept him as he is. Just as he accepts me for who I am.

Steffy: Who she is will wind up destroying you, bill. She will do to your life what she’s done to so many others. How many times do you need to hear that before you wake up?

Bill: The terms of my deal remain the same. Sheila’s freedom for taylor’s freedom. And one more thing. Not a word about my involvement with sheila to anyone. This remains strictly between the four of us. No one else. Let’s go home, sheila.

Baker: Sheila carter’s in your father’s house?

Liam: Well, we’re certain that she was. She’s not now.

Wyatt: Yeah and neither is our dad.

Liam: But we’re worried, you know. Like, what if she kidnapped him?

Wyatt: Or worse.

Baker: What about bill’s private jet? Any activity in the last few hours?

Wyatt: Oh, my god, we hadn’t even thought about that. No, you wait, you think she’s going to try and leave the country and maybe force dad to make that happen?

Baker: Anything’s possible, especially when you’re as desperate as sheila is. That’s why I want you both to leave the premises immediately. My men and i will handle this. Your father will be found, and with any luck, sheila will be in custody tonight.

Steffy: I can’t believe bill. He’s– he’s lost his mind.

Finn: I mean, did he really say that he and sheila have been living together?

Steffy: Yes.

Finn: I don’t get it. Why would sheila turn to bill when he outed her to the police before? I mean, you’d think that she would be livid, want revenge. But instead, they’re involved.

Steffy: It’s crazy. Somehow, sheila ends up making the impossible possible.

Finn: I still need to hear how it happened.

Steffy: About sheila and bill, I don’t want to talk about it.

Finn: No, about bill and your mother. Why did taylor shoot him?

Finn: Bill’s blackmailing us. Your mother shot him. Why steffy? I need to know.

Steffy: It happened while I was married to liam. We were going through some things and so were bill and– and liam and I– I tried my best to repair their relationship. Bill was really grateful and then I found out that liam kissed another woman and I was just so– I was so hurt. I felt betrayed. I went to my grandfather’s guesthouse and I was just so angry and emotional and… then bill showed up and, um…

Finn: And what?

Steffy: I hate that it happened.

Finn: You and bill.

Steffy: It never should’ve happened. But my mom thought that he, um, that he took advantage of me and that’s why she shot him.

Bill: Want a fire?

Sheila: No thanks. The bourbon will warm me up. You know, this– this place has been a sanctuary to me, really a port in the storm. I– I– I don’t know how I’m ever going to adequately be able to thank you for all that you’ve done.

Bill: Works both ways. Being here with you. Someone who understands me. A woman who truly understands me. Who would’ve thought?

Sheila: Yeah, but you know what? It goes both ways. A man that truly cares for me. A man who was willing to risk so much for me. You know, you say that you’ve hurt so many people over the years and that you could never do that to me, and that might be true. I– I can’t even imagine a scenario where anything like that would happen. Let alone me doing something to hurt you, after all the kindness you’ve shown me.

Bill: I think it’s time. It’s going to be a rough road for a bit, but in the end, you’ll have your freedom. Are you ready?

Sheila: Yeah.

Bill: This is bill spencer. Sheila carter is in my home. Hurry, she’s got to be apprehended. Hurry!

After advil.

Steffy: I never told you what happened with bill because it was one moment of weakness that I’ll always regret. But my mom is– she was wrong. Bill never took advantage of me, not like that.

Finn: So, it was consensual?

Steffy: Yes. If I’d been in a better frame of mind, if I wasn’t so upset, it… it never would’ve happened.

Finn: Yeah, but he played on your emotions.

Steffy: It was a long time ago, finn. A different lifetime. What happened is my past and what matters now is our future. We have each other and our family. That’s what’s important to me. I know learning this must be a shock to you, but I wasn’t purposely trying to keep it from you. I just never think about it. I never want us to think about it. Please don’t be upset with me.

Finn: No, I’m not upset with you. But bill should’ve known better because any halfway decent man would never have.

Steffy: I– I– I…

Finn: You’re my wife.

Steffy: I get it. I know. And I know you want to throttle bill for what happened. I get it. I know you love me and you care about me. And you feel like you need to protect me. I understand that. But I just want to make sure what happened with bill, it doesn’t– it doesn’t eat away at you or our marriage.

Finn: It won’T. I mean, I won’t let it. Thank you for opening up to me and telling the truth. I know it’s probably hard to talk about but, uh… god, it’s just bill, man. You know, the things that he does.

Steffy: Can we just focus on bill’s latest blackmail?

Finn: It’s unbelievable. Steffy, sheila can’t get away with this. We have to call the police.

Steffy: Believe me, I want that too. I want sheila in jail just as much as you, but there’s so much at stake. My mother’s future is at stake. I mean, the thought of her behind bars for years for shooting bill. She thought bill took advantage of me and she acted irrationally. She was a different person back then. But if bill goes through with this, I mean, I love my mom so much, the thought of gambling with her freedom. I just… I can’t do that. I can’t do that to my mother, finn.

Bill: Now, let’s go over this one more time just to make sure we are absolutely clear. I’m going to tell them that you showed up here desperately pleading your case. I shut you down and called the cops. That’s our story. Now, you’re going to be in jail for a bit, that’s a necessary step. I will then do everything in my power to get you out. And you will be a free woman again. And we can be together.

Sheila: You don’t know how much I’m counting on that. Oh, just get me out soon. I love you so much, bill. And don’t forget what this represents to you. The power. You take no prisoners. You win at all costs. I’m yours for life.

Baker: Nobody move! Stay right where you are!

Bill: Oh, thank god, you’re here. She– she showed up begging for help. I told her she was nuts and called you guys.

Sheila: Don’t do this. Don’t turn me in. Don’t–

Bill: Come on, take her.

Sheila: Stop!

Officer: You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you cannot afford one, one will be provided for you.

Sheila: But we know who did that, don’t we steffy? Your mother.

Steffy: How could you do this?

Bill: I’m not doing anything. The choice is yours. If you prosecute sheila, she won’t be the only one behind bars.

Liam: Dad. Dad, you here? Daddy-O. Dad. Dad?

Wyatt: Hi.

Liam: Mother– what the– what is wrong with you?

Wyatt: You should’ve seen your face.

Liam: This is fun for you? Are you– are you having a good time? Terrifying your brother?

Wyatt: Yeah. Beats a board meeting any day.

Liam: What are you even doing here?

Wyatt: I was checking on dad. He’s not here.

Liam: Maybe he’s at the office.

Wyatt: Nope, just came from there. And because he’s all alone now, I got a little concerned.

Liam: Yeah, me too. I mean, I’ve been calling him over and over. It just goes to voice mail.

Wyatt: Really?

Liam: So, if he’s not here and he’s not at the office.

Wyatt: Where could he be?

Wyatt: I mean, we shouldn’t be worried, though, right? Dad can take care of himself.

Liam: I mean, yeah. Well, normally, yeah, but I don’t know. I mean, he’s been acting so strange lately, and plus, this storm is insane.

Wyatt: Yeah.

Liam: And he’s nowhere to be found.

Steffy: Bill, what is wrong with you? I can’t believe what you’re suggesting.

Bill: If sheila goes to jail, taylor goes to jail.

Finn: Steffy, what’s going on?

Sheila: My son asked you a question.

Steffy: A few years ago, bill was shot. There were a number of suspects, but the police never found who pulled the trigger.

Bill: Because I never told them. It was taylor. She tried to kill me.

Finn: I don’t understand. Why would your mom shoot bill?

Steffy: It was an awful night. One I’ll always regret. How could you do this, bill? I thought you cared about me, my family.

Bill: You know I do.

Steffy: Then why are you doing this? Don’t you realize what she’s done? She’s dangerous! You can’t defend her.

Bill: That is exactly what I’m doing.

Liam: Yeah, no, it shouldn’t be too much longer. I will stay safe. Give the kids a kiss for me. All right, I love you.

Wyatt: Hope checking in?

Liam: Yeah. We’ve got kelly over at our place tonight, so she, hope, beth and douglas, they’re all doing, like, a slumber party thing in the living room.

Wyatt: Instead of being with your family, you’re out looking for our old man during a thunderstorm.

Liam: Well, what else from his favorite son?

Wyatt: What? Get out of here. You’re not his favorite son.

Liam and wyatt: Will is!

[ Wyatt laughing ]

Wyatt: Well, I’ve seen dad angry, but this is– this is different.

Liam: Yeah, no, you’re right. This isn’t angry. This is hurt. This is betrayed.

Wyatt: So what are you saying? He’s the victim in all this?

Liam: No, I’m saying– I’m saying perception’s a hell of a thing, right? I mean, justin’s over at forrester, katie’s moved on. Brooke probably won’t even look in his direction.

Wyatt: So, what are we, chopped liver?

Liam: It’s not that. It’s not that we’re chopped liver. It’s just that you and I both have our own lives. And besides, nobody was closer to him than katie and justin anyway.

Wyatt: Come on. He’s the one who pushed them away.

Liam: I know that, and you know that, but we’re not dealing with logic and reason here. Something inside dad has changed.

Wyatt: I can’t believe he put that necklace back on. I thought that chapter was closed.

Liam: Yeah, me too.

Wyatt: And I know what you’re saying about us having our own lives and everything, but if he’s that lonely, why is he pushing us away? I mean, we both reached out to him about dinner, and he turned us down. As a matter of fact, I showed up here the other night, and he wouldn’t even let me in.

Liam: You serious?

Wyatt: Now, for a guy that lonely, why is he pushing us away? I don’t know, man. I– I think there’s something else going on here.

Liam: Like what, you think?

Wyatt: No idea, but I feel like he’s hiding something.

Steffy: So, you’ve been waiting for the perfect time to hurt my mother, my family.

Bill: No. I don’t want to hurt you. I don’t want to cause you and finn any pain. I just– I just want mine to stop.

Steffy: Bill, sheila can’t help you. She’s a monster.

Bill: Maybe it takes a monster to help a monster.

Steffy: You are not a monster.

Bill: I am. And I’m reminded of it every day. When I was shot, no one cared. You all wished I was dead.

Steffy: That is not true.

Bill: It’s true. I would lie there in that hospital bed fighting for my life and I would imagine my own funeral. No one was there. I didn’t want to die alone, so… I decided that I would work. I would work so hard to bury the old bill. To be kind to you, to brooke, to katie. Katie, the mother of my child. How was I repaid? By being labelled a pariah. Not worthy, certainly not worthy of being loved, appreciated.

Steffy: Bill, if you want to be better, then be better. What you’re doing right now–

Bill: What I am doing? What I’m doing is siding with the one person who sees me for exactly who I am and doesn’t balk.

Sheila: You all act like you’re– you’re better than him. Just like me. You know what, maybe you are. He’s not perfect, but neither are you. Neither am I. Neither is your mother.

Steffy: I can’t believe what I’m hearing right now. You’re siding with the devil. And for what? Revenge?

Bill: No.

Steffy: Then what is it?

Bill: It’s not about revenge.

Steffy: Oh, my god.

Liam: What can dad possibly be hiding?

Wyatt: I don’t know, but how else do you explain him keeping us away? Like he’s not even really coming to work that much anymore, and he’s isolating himself here. It’s just, it’s weird.

Liam: That could just be, like, an ego thing, not some secret he’s keeping.

Wyatt: I assume you’re the last one to speak to him, right? But not like just the one-word answers he gives me. Like, really talk to him. So, how did he seem?

Liam: Honestly? Hopeful, manic even. He had invited katie over and he was going to try to convince her to get back together, which worried me. And he kept telling me that I didn’t have to worry, but that’s how cocky he was about it.

Wyatt: Yeah, we know how that turned out.

Liam: Yeah, not well. And– and if what I saw during christmas over at eric’s is any indication, katie and carter are getting pretty close.

Wyatt: Right, I heard. And you said that brooke doesn’t want anything to do with him either, right?

Liam: Right. Which makes both of them having rejected him.

Wyatt: Oh, man. Okay, well. I mean, I don’t mean to sound like the jerk here, but are we really that surprised?

Liam: Fortunately, no.

Wyatt: I mean, come on, the guy did it to himself. He’s– he’s come between brooke and katie before, but at the end of the day, they’re sisters.

Liam: I know. I know. I mean, what– in dad’s defence, I believe him when he says he genuinely loves both of them. I just think he figured on ending up with one.

Wyatt: So, dad is alone. He’s acting strange and for the people that are trying to get close to him–

Liam: He shuts them out. Yeah, the isolation, the sword necklace, all of it. It’s just– it’s a recipe for self-destruction.

Wyatt: And we know, dad, he doesn’t implode. He explodes and destroys everything in his path.

Finn: But bill, father to father, don’t do this. The longer sheila’s free, the longer my family’s in danger.

Sheila: I am your family. You don’t get to choose who your mother is.

Bill: Maybe if you’d given her a fair shot with you, none of this would’ve happened.

Steffy: You’re insane.

Bill: I considered that. But no, I am just so tired of living in this darkness alone, of having my heart broken too many times.

Steffy: You act like this pain was something that just happened. You’ve hurt people, bill.

Bill: You’re right, I have. I’ve hurt so many people, maybe katie and brooke worst of all. And they’ve made it clear that they want nothing to do with me.

Sheila: You know, he’s opened up to me and he knows he’s not a victim and he’s not mad at them for not wanting him. I– the person that he was, the way he treated them. He doesn’t want to be that man any longer. I commend him for that.

Finn: I don’t know you well. Whatever you were. That’s not the bill that I come to know. What you did for my family, for me, saving my mom, reuniting steffy and me. You’re not a monster. Bill, you’re not the enemy.

Bill: You can say that because you don’t know me. I just– I just– I just want a fresh start. I just want a brand new future.

Steffy: With sheila? How can you say you want to be the man who doesn’t hurt people, but yet you want to be with a dangerous criminal?

Bill: She’s flawed, just like me.

Finn: I nearly died, bill. She shot her own son.

Bill: I understand sheila. I know what it’s like to hurt the people that you love and just want a chance to make it right.

Steffy: This isn’t making it right.

Bill: Yes, it is. Don’t you see? This is the one person that I can’t hurt. This is the one person in the world that I can’t break. She can take care of herself. I don’t wanna hurt anybody else. I don’t want to make another woman cry again.

Steffy: Sheila can’t cry. She’s not even human. Sheila is pure evil. Bill, you’re devoting yourself to her.

Steffy: By blackmailing my mother.

Steffy: Saved my mother’s life? You tried to take it years ago when you shot her.

Bill: Just like taylor shot me.

Finn: Think about what you’re doing.

Steffy: I can’t believe you’re actually– you’re turning your back on your family. Kelly is your granddaughter. I– I– I thought you were one of us.

Bill: One of you? Brooke has no use for me. Katie wants nothing to do with me. And even you, steffy. You don’t want me anywhere near you.

Steffy: Bill, please. Please don’t do this.

Bill: I’m moving on with my life. I finally found a woman who is just like me. You don’t have to understand it, you don’t have to agree with it, but you do have to accept it. I will not let you take her from me. I will not be alone again.

Steffy: God, do you hear yourself? Oh, my god, you’re blackmailing me. You’re threatening my mother’s happiness and freedom. Sheila terrorized my mother. She left finn and me to die! Your granddaughter could have been motherless and yet, here you are defending her. My god.

Sheila: I never meant to hurt either one of you.

Steffy: You shut it. You shut your mouth. You are dangerous and you are out of your mind. And so are you if you think I’m actually going to let her get away with this? I am pressing charges.

Bill: No, you’re not. No, you’re not.

Steffy: Yes.

Bill: You’re not pressing charges. Your mother will spend her life in prison unless sheila spends the rest of her days as a free woman. That is my deal. Take it or leave it. . .

Steffy: Bill! Bill, oh, my god, thank god you’re here, you have to help tie– tie sheila up.

Finn: She was alive. We were right.

Bill: Yes, I know.

Brooke: I am trying not to be freaked out by it, but sheila is out there somewhere.

Taylor: Yeah, she is. You know what? I have a confession. I– I, um– I double check my locks every night.

Brooke: Me too.

Taylor: You know what? I– I don’t think she’d be stupid enough to come to one of our places. She’d be caught. She’d go to prison.

Brooke: Yeah. I mean, that has to happen regardless. There is no way she’s going to avoid being put back behind bars this time.

Katie: Mm! Oh, my gosh. Wow. That’s embarrassing. I can’t even stay dry inside.

[ Laughing ]

Carter: Thunder makes you jumpy, huh?

Katie: Uh, not usually. I guess I’m just a little bit more on the edge these days because of sheila. I’m glad that, uh, I came back here, the rain led us back here, and that I’m with you because I don’t think I would want to be alone in my house on a night like tonight.

Carter: Especially since– hey, sheila broke into your place before, huh?

Katie: Yes. Yes, she did. Which makes it official. I’m never going back there ever again.

Carter: Well, don’t worry. You got me. Not that you need protection.

Katie: Well, anyone would feel extra safe around you.

Brooke: You know, if sheila was going to make an appearance, I think it would have been on christmas. She was so moved last year when I convinced steffy to invite her. I was kind of surprised that she didn’t show up. Oh, thank god she didn’T. So how was your christmas? Over at steffy’s?

Taylor: It was wonderful. Steffy just wanted to do something very low-key, it was, you know, steffy, finn, li was there. Hayes. It was beautiful.

Brooke: Good.

Taylor: Yeah. How about you? Was eric and donna’s party good?

Brooke: Oh, yeah. It was festive, as usual.

Taylor: Good. And how is eric? Was he– was he sad that ridge couldn’t make it?

Brooke: Uh, well, ridge showed up.

Taylor: What? You saw ridge on christmas?

Carter: Aw. That was sweet of will, checking in on his mom after reading about the storm.

Katie: Yeah. I have a feeling his friends are posting updates that make it seem a little bit worse than what it is.

[ Thunder crashing ] Oh! Gosh!

Carter: Worse than it is?

Katie: Yeah. Speaking of sweet, it was really nice of you to chat with him like that. I think he spoke with you, actually, longer than he spoke with me.

Carter: It’s not my fault we listen to the same podcast and you don’T.

Katie: That’s a fair point. Seriously, you’re– you’re really good with him. I can tell you’d be a great dad. You’re patient, and you’re caring, and understanding, and those are all essential parenting skills.

Steffy: Bill, what’s wrong with you?

Bill: Nothing.

Steffy: Help us.

Bill: There’s no reason to tie sheila up.

Finn: Well, I’m not holding on to her until the police get here.

Steffy: Yeah, we haven’t been able to call the police–

Bill: No one is calling the police. Sheila deserves a second chance.

Carter: Have you talked to bill since I picked you up the other night?

Katie: Oh, no, I haven’T. I feel– I feel bad. I probably should check in, but he’s just been so out of sorts lately. He’s wearing his sword necklace. He says he has to wear it to protect himself and I just– I just can’t, you know? I can’t save him from himself. It’s just– it’s too much. You want to know what else is too much? Me going on and on and on about bill. It’s your fault. It’s your fault because–

Carter: It’s my fault?

Katie: Yes, you’re– you’re too good a listener. But I’m sure you didn’t invite me to dinner so that I could rattle on about my ex.

Carter: No, I had other motives. One in particular.

Katie: Oh?

Carter: I wanted to give it to you the other day at eric’s, but I wanted to wait until we were alone.

Sheila: You wouldn’t be able to live with yourself knowing that you put your own mother behind bars.

Finn: Shooting us and leaving us for dead? I’m pretty sure you put yourself there.

Sheila: That was a terrible, terrible accident.

Finn: Okay, stop it!

Steffy: You walked away from us. You pretended like it was a robbery. You call that an accident? I can’t believe you’re trying to give her a second chance. You’re defending her?

Bill: I am. Because nobody else will. And I understand what that feels like.

Sheila: We both know what it’s like to get that door slammed in your face over and over again, being told that you’re– you’re cruel, you’re untrustworthy, you’re not worth fighting for. Katie turned her back on bill. And brooke did, too. And that was just so wrong.

Bill: Despite all my efforts to… to be a better man, to prove myself worthy… neither one of them wants anything to do with me. They’re not the only ones. It started with you, steffy. So nobody cares about me. Nobody gives a damn whether or not I live or die.

Bill: This woman knows all about that.

Finn: Okay, but you– you helped my mom rescue me from her. You helped steffy and I reunite. You flew me on your plane to monte carlo. How did you go from that to whatever the hell this is?

Bill: What the hell this is, is me making sure that sheila remains free. Sweet pillows of softness!

[ Sighs ]

Brooke: When I think of all the times that I’ve been let down by ridge through the years…

Taylor: Oh, god. Time and time again.

Brooke: I guess you just grow accustomed to it. You know, at least I did.

Taylor: Me too.

Brooke: But you know what?

Taylor: Hmm?

Brooke: I really do like this new perspective. I like this new version of me.

Bill: I have tried, steffy. I tried so hard to be good to you. To brooke. To katie. And none of you wants anything to do with me and– I can’t blame you. I have caused so much pain, right? Tears? I’ve lied. I have cheated. I’ve stabbed people in the back. I’ve caused so much hurt over the years.

Sheila: But– but who’S… who’s that one person? That isn’t ever going to blink an eye at the worst of the worst choices that you’ve made?

Bill: I’m moving on. I’m moving on with someone that I can’t hurt.

Steffy: Ugh. I don’t know what kind of sick, twisted relationship is developing here. And honestly, I don’t care. I don’T. Move on. Be with her, if that’s what you want. But know there will be bars between you because this woman is going to jail.

Bill: No, she’s not. You’re not going to allow it. I absolutely will. This woman traumatized my family. She targeted my mother and my grandmother. The crazy bitch tried to kill me. So I don’t give a damn what you say. This woman is going to jail. I am pressing charges and she’s going to suffer in there for the rest of her life. As someone living with type 2 diabetes,

Katie: Thank you. I love it.

Carter: Good. Now there’s one more thing I owe you.

Taylor: The realization that we have to love ourselves first. First and foremost, that’s the most important thing.

Brooke: It’s such an invaluable lesson. And I’m so glad that our girls got to see that. I mean, all those years of crying over ridge, what kind of an example were we then?

Taylor: Not a very good one.

Brooke: No.

Taylor: No.

Brooke: But we’re moving forward.

[ Laughing ]

Taylor: Yes. Yes, we are.

Brooke: And, uh, I’m just happy to be able to call you a friend. I mean, I can call you a friend, right?

Taylor: Yes. Come here.

Brooke: Oh, taylor. I just never thought I’d feel so good to be in your arms.

Taylor: Yeah, it feels really good to be in your arms, too.

[ Thunder cracks ]

Steffy: Bill, you’ve– you’ve clearly gone to a very, very dark place. You’re lonely. You’re hurt. But convincing yourself to take pity on this woman. No amount of loneliness can justify this. You know what she’s done. She shot her own son. He has a scar for the rest of his life. It is a reminder of her violence. You! You shot your own son. There’s no way we’re not going to the police.

Sheila: Turn.

Finn: Wait, what are you doing?

Sheila: Oh, my. Oh, my, looks like a gunshot wound, doesn’t it?

Finn: A– a what?

Sheila: You two aren’t the only ones who’ve been shot.

Steffy: You wouldn’T.

Sheila: He would.

Steffy: She knows?

Finn: Steffy, what are they talking about?

Steffy: Oh, my god. Sheila?

Taylor: Ugh, hi.

Brooke: Hi. Wow, it’s really coming down out there.

Taylor: Yes, it is getting worse. Oh, I thought it was gonna let up.

Brooke: I’m sorry I had you come all the way over here.

Taylor: No, I have been driving around in this mess all day long. I’m happy to be indoors. Most of the traffic lights are out.

Brooke: Oh, you know, the lights have been flickering on and off in here.

Taylor: It’s a ghost. So, why did you want to see me?

Brooke: Uh, I wanted to talk to you about what happened earlier with thomas.

Taylor: What happened?

Brooke: Thomas was voted out of forrester creations tonight.

Katie: Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh.

Carter: Oh, this did not make for a very good umbrella.

Katie: Oh, you tried, but it was raining sideways out there.

Carter: Oh, man, I should’ve checked the weather before suggesting we walk back from dinner.

Katie: Oh, well, I guess we won’t be having that glass of wine on your rooftop either.

Carter: Rain check?

Katie: Oh– that’s– oh, there you go. That’s good. That’s a good one.

Carter: Oh, man, we were supposed to toast to your health and slow dance under the stars.

Katie: Mother nature had other ideas, I guess.

Carter: Fortunately, so do I. I think I know where I can find a bottle of wine around here. And we can still slow dance. But first, we should get out of these wet things.

[ Katie chuckling ]

Katie: Hm, you really got the worst of it. Trying to use your jacket to shield me from the rain.

Carter: It’s the least I can do after dragging you into a storm.

Katie: You really are soaked. You should take this off. We can throw it in one of the dryers downstairs.

Carter: That’s a good idea. Unless this is you trying to get me out of my shirt.

Katie: You caught me.

[ Thunder booming ]

Taylor: No. How? How? The vote was unanimous. Ridge? Steffy?

Brooke: I’m sorry you have to hear this from me. I really thought ridge might have told you.

Taylor: Oh, I don’t– I don’t think that steffy or ridge could tell me that right now. They must be going through a lot, too. Thomas hasn’t called me. He must be devastated. His work at forrester was everything.

Brooke: We did what was best for the company. It’s not like we were trying to get back at him.

Taylor: I understand.

Brooke: Do you?

Taylor: I’m trying to. Um, you know, I’m– I’m– I’m seeing things from a different perspective these days. Thomas’ behavior. My relationship with ridge. With you. I mean, it’s– it’s really affected my kids, you know? There was a time when something like this would have caused a huge logan/forrester battle.

Brooke: Not anymore.

Taylor: Not anymore. I love my son so much. He’s not a bad person. He’s not. He just– he makes bad decisions. I am just so sorry for everything. He’s put us all through a lot. And– and what he did to you is… I don’t blame you for not wanting to see him around here.

Steffy: Oh, my god! No, oh, my god, no, finn!

Sheila: I don’t have any weapons, I swear. I just– I just want to talk. I’ll stand right here. I won’t move.

Steffy: There’s no phone service, the power’s out.

Finn: What did you do? What did you do?

Sheila: Just must’ve– must’ve been the storm.

Finn: The storm.

Sheila: Please, just listen to me. The police aren’t coming, and your security’s indisposed at the moment. And I’m not leaving. I’m not going anywhere. And you need– you need to hear. I just– I want to live in peace and harmony. I want– I’ve always wanted my previous family.

Finn: Never say that. You are not our family! You’re going to prison for the rest of your life. Nicorette knows quitting smoking is freaking hard.

Carter: Getting out of these wet things is not a bad idea.

[ Katie shivering ] Look at you. You’re shivering.

Katie: So, you want to strip down to warm up?

Carter: I’m feeling warmer already. And it’s a good thing this is a fashion house. There are robes right down the hall.

Katie: Okay, well, then… give me your clothes. I’ll put them in the dryer with mine.

Carter: Okay. Uh.

[ Katie chuckling ] There we go. Pants are wet, too.

Katie: Oh, boy, all right.

Carter: All right.

Katie: Thanks, mother nature.

[ Both laughing ]

Carter: Ugh. Thank you.

Katie: No, carter, really, thank you.

Carter: For what? This was supposed to be a romantic celebration. Evening on my terrace overlooking the gorgeous view of the ocean.

Katie: Well, the storm is pretty romantic. And I’m liking the view just fine.

Taylor: Things would have been so different for thomas if we would have made this choice sooner.

Brooke: What thomas did made us realize that it was necessary.

Taylor: Well, there’s a bright spot in all of this.

Brooke: Yeah.

Taylor: You know, I was thinking about what you said. About how thomas had to watch his dad go back and forth between us for all those years. Seeing his mother heartbroken all the time. It made him so angry.

Brooke: I think our kids just want us to be happy.

Taylor: Yes, they do. Isn’t it so crazy that we thought our happiness depended on ridge?

Brooke: Yeah, but not anymore.

Taylor: No, not anymore. You know what? I– I want our kids to see this. I– I– I- our grandkids. Everyone we care about.

Brooke: Gosh, it feels so good, right?

Taylor: Yes!

Brooke: Choosing ourselves!

Taylor: It feels amazing and not running away from it because I think I have to. You know what, brooke? I’m happy. I’m– I feel fulfilled right now. I really do. And there is– there is nothing that is gonna mess that up for me. Well, almost nothing.

Brooke: Don’t worry, thomas will contact you–

Taylor: No, it’s not just about thomas. It’s sheila.

Brooke: Ah, yeah.

Taylor: Sheila carter is alive. She is out there and she is still a huge threat to our families.

Sheila: You don’t need to be afraid of me–

Finn: You’re the one that should be afraid, sheila.

Steffy: Finn, no! No, no.

Finn: You’re sick. Okay? You– you faked your own death.

Sheila: I did that for you so you can move on.

Finn: You did it so you could escape.

Finn: So, you could have closure–

Steffy: Then why are you still here?

Sheila: I couldn’t leave! I needed to make sure you were all right.

Steffy: You’re a liar. You were– you were stalking us. I saw you at il giardino!

Sheila: I didn’t know you were going to be at il giardino and I’m not following you. I’m not a threat to you. I– I– I understand, if– if you don’t want me to be a part of your family–

Steffy: We don’t want you here. We want you behind bars.

Finn: You should have run away when you had the chance to never come back.

Sheila: Don’t you think I tried that? I came up with a brilliant plan. I executed it perfectly and everyone believed it. Everyone. Except for you, my brilliant, gifted son.

Steffy: What you did was sick!

Sheila: It was horrible and it was excruciating, but that’s what you do when you love family, and I would do anything for you. I would do anything, regardless of how much it hurt me.

Finn: Then turn yourself in.

Sheila: I don’t– I don’t need to go to prison. I am not a threat to you. If you could just let me explain.

Finn: Explain what? You shot me. Your own son. And then, you shot my wife. You could have made your grandson an orphan. A child you claim to love.

Sheila: I do love hayes. I love you all.

Steffy: Hayes will never know you existed. You’re going to rot behind bars for the rest of your miserable life.

Finn: You’re coming with me.

Steffy: Oh, no.

Katie: Okay.

Carter: Nice and warm?

Carter: I did. I have to make good on some of my promises.

Katie: I think you’re doing just fine.

[ Katie chuckling ] So much for a night away from the office, huh?

Katie: Well, our night is just getting started. And I like where it’s going so far.

Brooke: So, the police were sure it was sheila that steffy saw at il giardino?

Taylor: Yeah. And they have no idea where she is now.

[ Thunder roars ]

Brooke: Oh! Gosh.

Sheila: Just hear me out. Just this once.

Finn: Yeah. What– what? Then what? You think we’re just gonna let you walk out of here? No, sheila. You’re not getting away this time. If I wanted to get away, I could have. I could be living a new life somewhere else. But leaving you wasn’t an option for me. I just– I want your acceptance, your understanding.

Steffy: There’s nothing to understand. Everyone is against you. And that’s exactly what you were saying in that alley when you pulled the gun on me.

Finn: Whoa, whoa, whoa–

Sheila: No one’s more sorry for what happened that night than I am. It was a terrible accident.

Finn: Accident? You nearly killed her.

Steffy: I thought my husband was dead. My family mourned him!

Sheila: I didn’t mean to shoot you, finn.

Steffy: Oh, my god.

Sheila: I didn’t mean to shoot anyone. Steffy just kept coming at me over and over again, threatening to keep us apart. I know that you both despise me and that all you can see is the bad, the mistakes that I’ve made, but coming back to los angeles to meet you was not a mistake. And I can say that because I love you. I am still your mother, I am hayes’ grandmother, and there is nothing that is going to change that. Things could just be so different. Will you just please give me a chance? I just– I just– I just want your acceptance. I– I want to be at peace with you. I– I want to find a way that the two of us can move forward together. That’s all I want.

Steffy: You’re insane, you’re insane, you’re insane.

Finn: You’re going away, sheila. We’re pressing charges. You’re gonna pay for your crimes.

Sheila: I’m not going back to prison. There’s nothing that you could say or do to convince steffy and me to let you go. You’re going to prison, sheila. Tonight. Second date, wish me luck buddy.

Brooke: Nobody has seen sheila since that car chase?

Taylor: No, no. It’s terrifying. Where could she be?

Brooke: Well, she had to have left town.

Taylor: Well, you’d think a rational person would leave town, but sheila’s not rational. She cut off her own toe. She faked her own death. She convinced everyone she was dead, and then she came back.

Brooke: And if she tries that again, she’ll be caught for sure.

Taylor: Yeah, but we just have to keep our guard up. Especially steffy and finn.

Brooke: Maybe it’s safer if they go out of town for a while.

Taylor: Yeah, I wish they would, but, you know, sheila’s caused such an upheaval in their lives. Steffy and finn are determined to stand their ground.

Brooke: You think she’d go after them again?

Taylor: I think she’d try to go after hayes.

Brooke: Oh.

Taylor: But I– I– I– that would be so stupid. She…

Brooke: Well, like you said, she’s not rational.

Taylor: My god, brooke. What is she gonna do next?

Steffy: There’s nowhere to run, sheila. No way to avoid your fate.

Sheila: You know, that’s the problem. People have always underestimated me. Lauren fenmore underestimated me in genoa city. She thought my life was over. But actually, you know what? My life was just beginning. I started an amazing new existence right here in sunny california. And then, jack. Jack thought he could keep me a secret, keep me from my son. And now you’re saying it’s over? That– that there’s no chance of escape? That– that I’m going back to prison? Wrong, wrong, wrong. Oh, you know, I– I’ve gotten used to hearing that over and over again. But it’s never been true for me, steffy. Not for me, because I always find a way out.

Finn: Sheila, there is not one person in this town that has any sympathy for you.

Steffy: Everyone knows you’re crazy and dangerous.

Finn: And you believing that you’re just gonna get away shows how truly disturbed you are.

Sheila: Oh, no, you know what? You’re wrong again, sweetheart, because I’m a free woman right now, and I’m going to continue to be a free woman.

Finn: Okay, that’s enough. Steffy, I think there’s some rope in the top drawer.

Sheila: Oh, here. What, you want to tie me up?

Finn: You don’t realize the evil that you have brought into our lives.

[ Thunder cracks ]

Steffy: Here, here, here.

Finn: You shot me and my wife. You left us for dead. It’s over, mother. Right here, right now. You hear me?

Finn: Yeah. So, it’s official, we have the house to ourselves tonight?

Steffy: Yes, we do. Kelly’s with liam, hayes is spending the night with grandma li.

[Chuckles] I mean, not that I don’t love being with our kids.

Steffy: Our kids are amazing. But you’re right, this is– this is nice.

Finn: Oh.

Brooke: Will steffy be here?

Ridge: No, she doesn’t have to go through any more of this. Dad, steffy, and I, we talked about it and we all agreed on what needs to be done. All right. Good. You’re here.

Thomas: Yeah. Well, I was summoned.

Ridge: You created a problem, thomas. We’re here to fix it.

Finn: What do you wanna do for food? We have some christmas leftovers or I could cook something.

Steffy: No, I don’t wanna be away from you for too long.

Finn: Hmm. Sounds like a plan, but plans are flexible. They can change.

Steffy: I don’t wanna change anything about this night.

Finn: Okay. But there’s a pretty important meeting happening at forrester.

Steffy: I’ve said all I have to, to my brother. It’s time for him to learn about his future at forrester.

[ Thunder clapping ]

Thomas: You know, before I get the lecture I deserve I’d like to say a few words, if that’s all right. If you can actually believe it I’m glad you’re all here. Means I can tell you all at once just how badly I screwed up. I don’t know what I was thinking, calling cps on myself. Actually, that’s it. I wasn’t thinking. I was filled with emotion. I mean, brooke threatened to call cps on me. And I– I just, I got so angry with that. And I said, “you know what? Let’s call cps and they’ll show up and see how great of a father I’m being and how irrational that is.” But I also wanted my parents together, and brooke, that meant getting you outta the way and lying to make that happen. And for that, I am so sorry.

Steffy: I am convinced that if thomas just left things alone, my parents would be married right now. Of course, he just ruins everything. And it just proves that he is the same manipulator he’s always been.

Finn: I’m sorry he disappointed you, but I am so proud of you. Hey, it would’ve been easy to let ridge and taylor get married, but you told the truth.

Steffy: I couldn’t let my mom and dad start building a future based on a foundation of a lie. My dad deserved to know that brooke didn’t betray him.

Finn: Have you checked in on your mom?

Steffy: Yeah. She’s okay, considering. I was wondering how this was all gonna hit her, but she seems empowered, her and brooke.

Finn: I mean, I still can’t believe they both walked away from ridge.

Steffy: I know. Feels like closure is in the air. The mom, dad, brooke cycle, thomas’s future will be decided. Now, there’s only one unsettling loose end left.

[ Thunder claps ]

[ Rain splattering ]

Thomas: I don’t know what switch flipped. It made me think framing brooke was a good idea. I mean, obviously I need more years of therapy and I thought these kind of stunts were behind me.

Ridge: We all thought that.

Hope: That’s why this is so shocking and hurtful.

Thomas: I made a terrible mistake and I backslid on my progress. But I think you’ve all seen the progress I’ve been making over the last couple of years, and I’m taking more steps forward than I am steps back. So give me the opportunity and I will take it to show you that I’m becoming a better man and I’m still an integral part of the forrester design team.

Eric: All right. Stop. Stop right there. You’re getting ahead of yourself here, thomas, presuming that you still have a– a place here.

Thomas: What do you mean?

Eric: Do you have any idea how disappointed I am in you? I trusted you. I– I believed in you and I invited you into my home, into my house to give you the opportunity to strengthen your relationship with your– your boy. And then you do this to ridge and to brooke. I can’t even look at you.

Thomas: Don’t say that grandpa. I can still make amends.

Eric: No, you can’T. You can’T. The person that you should beg forgiveness of is brooke.

Brooke: I know how you feel about me, thomas. You’ve made it abundantly clear. Sure, you can say I’m sorry in front of everybody in this room, but I know how you really feel. When I found out the truth about the cps call, you showed me no remorse whatsoever. And you made sure that I knew that you would do whatever it takes to keep ridge out of my life. I didn’t want it this way. I just didn’t wanna see the stress and the strain on ridge’s face. So I tried, I tried to have some kind of relationship with you to show you some kind of love, support. And this is what I get. This is what you throw back in my face, sabotaging our love. You don’t care about our feelings and our marriage. You have no respect.

Thomas: You’re right. I didn’t respect your marriage, but I’m sorry about lying and hurting your feelings. I really am.

Brooke: I’m sorry? How many times are you gonna say, I’m sorry? You said I’m sorry to your son. You said I’m sorry to hope. You said I’m sorry to me. Are we gonna continue believing you forever, thomas?

Thomas: I wanted my family back together.

Brooke: [Sighs] Well, you can’t justify this. There are no more excuses. This is the end of the road.

Carter: You know, I liked you, thomas. I really did. And as ridge’s best friend and ceo of this company, I was always rooting for you to make a comeback after every time you messed up. I thought it would stick this time. I really did. You were doing so great. Your designs were fire, had a great working relationship with hope and zende. And your father was so proud of the way you turned your life around. The man, the father you were becoming. How can you do this? You devastated this man. Is there anything else you should tell us? Any other lapse in judgment that might blow back on hope or hope for the future?

Thomas: Carter, do you understand how much work I put into this line? Why would I do something to jeopardize that, a line that I’m working on? And you know how much I care for hope. I mean, why would I do something to hurt her or my son? I mean, hope you– you believe that, right?

Hope: I did. I believed everything you said about learning from your past, making an effort to move forward. How we could co-parent together, work together. Hey, even be friends despite our history. But after all this.. I should’ve– I should’ve listened to all the warnings. You have hurt douglas. You continue to just think about yourself. You didn’t even think about how traumatizing this might be for your son.

Thomas: I wasn’t thinking about anything, hope. And I’m so sorry. Look, I love douglas. He means more to me than anything else in the world. I never wanna hurt him. And you have to give me another chance to be–

Hope: Thank you to be for all your hard work on my line. I do know how many hours you have put into it and all of the hard work that has gone into it, and you were a very important part of the team. But zende is an excellent designer and he has really come into his own. So I think the line will do just fine without you.

Thomas: You don’t actually believe that, hope.

Hope: You used our son to destroy my mother’s happiness. How could I ever trust you again?

[ Thunder clapping ] And it was so close. All it needed was a nudge and I pushed it right off a cliff. And that’s what I’m saying. I know what I did was wrong. And for that I am so, so sorry. Granddad, you– you opened your home to me and my son and I failed you and my son both. And I’m so sorry. Brooke, as much as you don’t wanna believe it, I– I never wanted to hurt you. I’m sorry, brooke. Hope, I never ever wanted to see that look a disappointment in your eyes again. And I have to see it now every day. I’m so sorry, hope. Dad, I wanted our family back together, but what I did… it wasn’t okay. And you know what? Dad, I can move forward. I can learn from this and I can grow. You just– you have to gimme a chance.

Ridge: What are you asking me right now? To forget what you did or… forgive you? What is it? I stood by you when no one else did. Even blamed myself because I wasn’t there when you were a kid. But I was there when you were a grown man and you played me.

Thomas: That was never my intention, dad.

Ridge: Intention? It’s not about intentions. It’s about your actions, boy. It’s about your actions. Maybe this is who you are. Maybe you can’t change. This is you. You are making me do this for the family, for this company. I’m sorry.

Thomas: Dad, please don’t do this.

Brooke: I feel her presence every day.

Katie: Especially on a day like today when we went to the mission.

Carter: Always. Though I am a little nervous about eric’s eggnog.

Katie: Hmm.

Carter: Did you plan this? Did you plan to get me under here?

Katie: Well, I don’t know who put it up there, but I’m awfully glad they did.

Carter: New year, new possibilities.

Katie: New possibilities with someone who doesn’t just listen, but actually hears me. Someone I know will take very, very good care of my heart.

Carter: A very special, miraculous heart.

Eric: Everybody, please can I say something for a minute? Okay. We’re going to eat pretty soon. We will. So, don’t eat all this, right? We got lots of food. Um, I’m so happy that everybody’s here. Thank you. I’m actually honored that you’re here in the house. Oh, in fair warning, I’m gonna ask everybody to just say a little something about what you feel grateful for this year. You know, what I see here, I see love and affection that you all share for each other and support and protectiveness. And that means we’re a family. That’s the most important thing. Zende: Granddad, you’re my biggest advocate. Everyone here, all of you have guided me in some unique way. Some of you are family, but all of you are friends. Today, I am so very thankful for the meaningful connections I’ve made in my life. And for second chances.

Paris: Second chances, third chances. However many times it takes for us to get it right because when it’s worth it and when it’s written in the stars, it always falls into place.

Carter: It’s been quite the year. I learned a lot. And what I lost, I gained in clarity. I have a lot to appreciate like your forgiveness, your brotherhood. You guys are my chosen family and I’m looking forward to seeing what tomorrow brings.

Katie: The holidays, new year it’s– it’s a time for reflection. It’s a celebration of all those little miracles that have brought us to this place. And I just know that we have so many more miracles yet to come. All of us. All my sisters. I’m just so happy that we’re all in such a good place.

Hope: Aw. There’s that logan pride. I mean, I am so happy I get to be a part of– of that group. But not only you, but everyone here, I mean, you all are such extraordinary people and I’m so happy my kids have such good role models to look up to, especially this man right here.

Liam: Kids are really growing up. I mean, look at ’em. Like all wide-eyed and enthusiastic. It’s the best. You guys are the best. You know that, right? It’s a nice reminder to stay openhearted. Just look for the joy. It’s there. And um, fortunately in my case, I don’t have to look too far.

Brooke: We’re all very lucky to have good health, good fortune, lifelong friendships. You know, life isn’t perfect. And when we feel alone, we get to lean on the people that we love. Like I lean on my children and my grandchildren, my family. And I am so grateful to have each and every one of you in my life, especially now.

[ Door creaks ]

Pam: Yay! You made it.

Eric: You’re– you’re just in time. We’re all telling what we’re actually grateful for. And I’m grateful for you as my son and that you showed up here just now.

Ridge: I’m– I’m here. And I brought presents for everybody. And I’m– I’m wearing a– a big coat of humility ’cause I thought I knew everything about life and love and communicating and it turns out I know very little.

Eric: Yeah. Well, fair warning, you’re never gonna figure any of that out except what’s really important. Merry christmas, everybody.

Hope: Can you believe ridge came?

Liam: I don’t know. Is it weird that I’m not that surprised? Who wouldn’t wanna spend christmas with the girl of his dreams?

Brooke: What? No, don’t be silly. This is your family home. You don’t need to rush off.

Ridge: I don’t wanna interfere on your holiday. You know, I’ve– I’ve got some work to do on me. I gotta– I gotta learn how to be more direct.

Brooke: Well, let’s not get into that right now.

Ridge: I should have believed in you. I do. I do believe in you. And I know you’ve sworn off men for the moment, especially this man and it’s christmas.

Brooke: Oh, my goodness.

Ridge: Yeah. Very funny guys. What are you doing?

Pam: ‘Tis the season.

Charlie: Look like you needed a little nudge, so.

Ridge: What do you say?

Brooke: Well, it would be rude to deny the magic of the mistletoe.

Pam: I do.

Eric: Listen, everybody. I was so, um– I’m so glad to see how much fun we’re having. I know I am. I enjoyed very much to hear speeches about what– what you were grateful for in this life. I think it’s safe to say we’re all very blessed in our lives with great blessings. I think it’s uh, safe to say that on today and jesus’ birthday, that we all appropriately reach out to share some of that with– with others in our lives and with people that aren’t even in our lives. People not as fortunate as we are. I pledge to do that and I hope you do too. To live the philosophies of this life all year long and to make this world a better place.

Ridge: Well said, dad.

Eric: Thanks.

Carter: I think we all wish this feeling would last. People being kind and considerate, sharing their appreciation for each other, remembering the value of community. Sometimes the smallest gesture can make the biggest impact in a person’s life.

Brooke: There is beauty and inspiration all around us. We just need to open our eyes to see it. And all this joy and this happiness and this peace and love that we feel during christmas, we need to carry that with us all year long.

Steffy: I’m just, uh, looking for the mistletoe.

Finn: Hmm. Well, I don’t need mistletoe to kiss my super hot wife. Ah, you did an amazing job with the decorations.

Steffy: Thanks. You don’t think it’s a tiny bit too much?

Finn: Well, the kids like it, right?

Steffy: Oh, absolutely.

Finn: Well, then that’s all that matters.

Steffy: It was so cute watching kelly help her little brother put the ornaments on the tree. I mean, it was adorable.

Finn: Yeah, it’s, um, hard not to get caught up in the holiday spirit with the kids around.

Steffy: Yeah. Yeah, that would be even truer if the fear of sheila wasn’t hanging over us.

Eric: Yes… well…

Ridge: Dad? Hey! You wanted to see me?

Eric: Yes. It’s important, sit down.

Ridge: No, no. I remember making this for you and mom. It must have been, what, third grade, maybe.

Eric: I’m sure. Yeah. And it’s, uh, it’s hung on the christmas tree every year ever since. Along with all these other ones from your– your brother and your sisters and… the grandkids, the great grandkids. Jeez, look at these.

Ridge: Well, tradition is important, right? Especially this time of year.

Eric: Yes, it is. Look, ridge, um… I’m worried about you.

Ridge: Worried about me? Why?

Eric: I don’t want you to feel alone or untethered this holiday season.

Katie: I–I know I shouldn’t have put off my appointment. I– I should have come in months ago. And that’s not good. And… you haven’t said anything, which also can’t be good.

Carter: Maybe that’s because you haven’t let the doctor get a word in. That–that’s why, right.

Katie: Oh, yeah. I’m so– sorry. Um… so, doctor, what are my results?

Finn: Baby, we are all concerned about sheila. And knowing that she got away from the police yet again is beyond frustrating. But she will be caught.

Steffy: I keep telling myself that. How one day sheila will be behind bars for the rest of her miserable life. But until then, I am gonna be freaked out.

Finn: Until then, until then we’ll stay vigilant. Look, I don’t want you worrying. Okay? Definitely not during the holidays, when the kids are so excited. Our family has never meant more to us. I will always be here to protect you and our kids.

Steffy: Oh.

Finn: Okay?

Ridge: I don’t like that you’re worried about me.

Eric: I’m your father. I’ll always worry about you.

Ridge: Okay, but at this point in my life, I– I should have my act together, I think.

Eric: Well, if you’re referring to your personal life, yes, um, I would agree with that. Although when it comes to my track record, I really can’t be a judge, can I?

Ridge: See, that’s why I took some time off. To try to figure out why I did what I did, the choices I made, and maybe try to figure out what’s next, you know?

Eric: Yeah. So, what happened? And you and brooke and taylor in the same room at the same time. What happened?

Katie: Well, I have to admit, I put these appointments off because I always go to the worst case scenario. And I know that… you know, I have to face my own mortality and I’m living on borrowed time as a transplant survivor. So, yeah, yeah, I don’t I don’t like coming to these appointments because i don’t like feeling that way.

Grace: Your results from your latest test. They’re all very positive.

[Katie sighing]

Grace: As you know, heart transplant rejection can happen at any point. It could be days. It could be weeks. It could be months. Years after the surgery. Even with the immunosuppressant drugs your on. But I’m happy to say there are no indications of rejection whatsoever. You have a very healthy heart. You’re doing well, katie.

Katie: Oh.

Katie: I really am okay?

Grace: Yes. You’re really okay. And I’d go as far to say that you’re a walking miracle.

Carter: This is amazing, katie.

Grace: I’m so happy you have a wonderful support system, katie.

Katie: Me too.

Grace: So, go. Live your best life.

[Phone buzzing] I have another consult. I’m sorry. You’ll both have to excuse me.

Katie: Oh, yes, of course. Thank you.

Grace: Take your time.

Carter: So?

Katie: So.

Carter: So, it doesn’t get better than this, right? Clean bill of health for the holidays.

Katie: Yeah. Oh, man, I can’t even tell you how stressed out I’ve been about this appointment.

Carter: Well, it’s not like you let anyone on.

Katie: Well, you know, I didn’t want to worry anyone. You, you know, but I do have to admit that when I saw you walk through the door. I knew that you would be here for me. I just can’t thank you enough, carter.

Eric: So they dumped you? Wait, brooke and taylor dumped you?

Ridge: Yeah, why don’t you say it one more time? I didn’t expect that either. Look, can I say something?

Eric: Sure. Go ahead.

Ridge: Seeing these two amazing women standing there so strong and so convinced in what they were doing. I–I… was really proud of them.

Eric: This is going to be a big shift in your life, isn’t it?

Ridge: Yeah, and that– that word you said, untethered. That’s– that’s how I feel right now,

Eric: Uh-huh. I can only imagine. Especially now with the, uh… with the holidays upon us.

Ridge: I’m going to be okay.

Eric: I think you will be. You have me. You have your old man. You got your family. You’ve got this house. This is your home, too. We’ll all be here. I want you to make A… I want you to make an appearance on christmas.

Charlie: Ho, ho, ho!

Pam: Hey, we’re back from the north pole with all the fixings

Eric: Did you, uh, you buy out the whole store? Look at you.

Pam: Well, of course we did. It’s the annual forester christmas bash. Got to go all out. We sure hope that you’re going to be joining us, ridge.

Charlie: Yeah, uh, you know, pammy and I heard about brooke and taylor.

Pam: Heck, the whole office heard, ridge, which is why you need your family more than ever right now.

Eric: Pam’s right. I want you to make an appearance here at christmas.

Finn: Hey, we should go see the decorations downtown this weekend. We’ll get you on some ice skates.

Kelly: Yeah! Mom, too?

Steffy: Uh, yeah! Who do you think think’s going to teach you?

Finn: Anyway, hey. Won’t be long. Santa is going to visit.

Kelly: I know. Hayes is so excited. I think he wants to see rudolph.

Finn: Uh, well, yeah, everyone wants to see rudolph with that nose so bright thing he’s got going on.

Kelly: Douglas says rudolph’s nose is red ’cause it’s cold at the north pole.

Steffy: Yeah, I think douglas is right.

Kelly: Then why aren’t the other reindeer’s noses red too?

Steffy: Uh, you want to take this one, finn?

Finn: Uh, yeah, I think, um… why don’t you ask your dad that when you’re with him on christmas. And I think liam can answer that question. Steffy: Wow, talk about passing the buck.

Finn: Anyway, when santa comes down the chimney, what are you hoping he brings you?

Kelly: The only thing I want for christmas I already have: All of us together.

Steffy: [Indistinct] Oh, you are so cute. Oh, my god. (Grump) today is a great day to show up for yourself.

Eric: Pam’s right. You know… ridge? I would really like for you to stop by christmas.

Pam: Look, if you’re just worried about running into brooke… I know she did just kind of give you the old heave ho.

Pam: But–

>>Charlie: But– but she didn’t totally reject you, right? I mean, you guys are still speaking.

Pam: Right?

Pam: Someone’s telling us to skedaddle.

Ridge: So– so– so it’s definite. Brooke is going to be here for christmas.

Eric: Well, donna’s living here with me now. And so quite naturally, her sisters will join us. Look, ridge, in spite of everything that’s happened, I’m quite certain that brooke would love to see you at christmas.

Steffy: You know, finn and i couldn’t be more proud of you.

Kelly: Why?

Finn: You realized the true meaning of christmas. It’s family, friends, togetherness. Steffy: Kindness, generosity, forgiveness. You still can be excited about santa claus.

Finn: You are excited about santa, right?

Kelly: Yeah.

Steffy: Good. Because you’ve been such a wonderful little girl this year.

Kelly: I’m not so little anymore.

Finn: I mean, she’s right, before you know it, she’s–

Steffy: Don’t say it.

Finn: She’s gonna be too old for me to do this.

Kelly: You think santa got hayes’ christmas letter?

Steffy: Oh, the one you helped him with?

Kelly: He’s been really good this year, too.

Finn: Yeah. I mean, you know what I think? Not only did the big guy in the north pole get hayes’ letter, he’s putting something extra special in his bag for hayes’ big sister. So…

Kelly: Why?

Steffy: Because you’ve been the best big sister a little brother could have.

Kelly: I love hayes.

Finn: He loves you.

Steffy: And love is what christmas is all about.

Kelly: You know what I said before?

Steffy: About celebrating christmas? How that and being happy is all that really matters?

>Kelly: My family’s the best. And this is the best christmas ever.

Steffy: Oh, my goodness. I love you.

Brooke: Well, if I hurry, I can still make the rest of that publicity meeting.

Carter: Why? You told them you’d miss it. Why not take a minute, relax, and bask in the good news? What?

Brooke: Nothing. It’s just…

[Grunting]

>>Brooke: No, really, I’m okay.

Carter: Come here, come here, come here, come here. Sit down. You have to relax, okay? You don’t have to carry this stress anymore. You got the best possible report from your doctor.

Brooke: I know.

>>Carter: You trust me?

Brooke: Yes.

Carter: Close your eyes.

Brooke: Not sure I trust you.

Carter: It’s either you trust me, you don’T.

Brooke: Okay.

Carter: Good. Now take a nice deep breath. Hold it. And slowly release.

[Chuckling]

Brooke: Okay. Thank you. I forgot to breathe sometimes.

Carter: We all do. Listen, katie, you don’t have to go through this by yourself. I’m not talking about the doctor’s appointment. I’m talking about all the worrying leading up to it. I wish you’d opened up to me. Let me help.

Brooke: You helped just by being there.

Carter: Good. Because I want you to know that whether you’re having good times or not so good ones, whether you’re happy, sad, angry, anxious, or whatever it is you’re feeling right now. I want to be there for you. I realize you’ve been going it alone for a while now. And like I said… you don’t have to be alone anymore. I’m amber, I’ve lost 128 pounds with golo,

Carter: Now I don’t have a jet or a yacht…

[Both chuckling] I don’t even think there’s any way for me to express how much those things don’t mean to me. I can’t even tell you how many days, weeks, I felt so isolated in my relationship. Not anymore. No way. I have been given a new lease on life. I am going to use storm’s heart in the best way I know how. Live life to the fullest. I want to laugh. I want to dance. Although you might not want to see that. I’m going to work really hard and I am going to raise my son. Mostly… I am going to love… fully… and completely. Thank you.

Ridge: I screwed up, dad. I screwed up. Over and over again. And I’ve…

[Indistinct], They told me so. I’ve been in love with two women for most of my adult life. They were there for me and I… I couldn’t choose one of them. Couldn’t make a choice. Why would they put up with that?

Eric: Because they both loved you so deeply. That’s why.

Ridge: I loved them too. Still do. I let them down over and over again. Turned their families upside down. That’s what I mean. I gotta… I gotta change this. I… I gotta find a way to be a better man.

Eric: Well… whether you accomplish that or not…

[Chuckling] I’ll still be your old man. Right?

Steffy: Kelly’s making christmas cards for her two grandmas and grandpa ridge.

Finn: And I made us some eggnog from eric’s recipe.

Finn: I did. Although it’s a much lighter pour than your grandfather’S. And I set some aside for the kids later. Some regular eggnog.

Steffy: It’s really beginning to look a lot like christmas.

Finn: Yeah. I mean, the tree is decorated, the presents are wrapped, and stockings are hung by the chimney with care.

Steffy: I keep thinking about kelly’s wise words. She’s right, you know. This is the greatest christmas ever, because… we’re together. When I think about what happened that day in monaco. It was the most miraculous of miracles.

Finn: Steffy!

Steffy: See you standing there…

Steffy: It was truly the greatest gift imaginable.

Katie: Oh, you mean when you turned him down and he immediately gave me the same “I need you” pitch?

Brooke: Yeah.

Katie: Yeah.

Brooke: That was really strange. I mean, that was so unlike bill. I can understand why you’re moving on. Who would ever even entertain being with him after that?

Katie: Well, I guess years of pushing people away makes for a lonely existence.

Brooke: Well, he has his sons.

Katie: Yeah, but will’s at school. Wyatt and liam have their own lives.

Brooke: You.

Katie: He’s will’s dad and I will always care about him, but that’s kind of as far as it goes these days. I think there’s always this piece of me that really held onto the hope that things might work out, but not so much anymore. You know what? Life is too short. It is too short to waste time being unhappy.

Brooke: Are you okay?

Katie: Yeah. Yes. It’s just– it is my… my follow up for my annual cardiology check up.

Brooke: What?

Katie: Yeah.

Brooke: You do that always in the spring. I asked you about it, you said you’re okay.

Katie: I am. I’m fine. Been fine. You know, it’s just– it was so busy. Will being at school and hope’s fashion show and just, you know, a million other things.

Brooke: Mm. Is that really why? Or were you scared to go?

Taylor: I can’t believe this. Are– are you okay? Did she try to come after you?

Steffy: No. No, she had on some kind of wig and a mask.

Carter: A mask? Okay, I thought it was farfetched when you told us she cut off her toe and faked her death, but how is this real?

Taylor: Because she will go to any length for her own survival.

Steffy: Including shooting me and her own son.

Carter: How did you find her?

Steffy: I accidentally bumped into her at il giardino.

Carter: Wait, wait. She went back to the scene of the crime?

Steffy: Yes. But she was in this disguise. And I looked at her feet and I noticed that she was missing a toe and when I locked eyes with her, I realized it was sheila, but I was so stunned and in the moment that she ended up taking off. And then, we called the police and they said that they caught some footage of her nearby the restaurant. Forensic confirmed it was her with facial recognition. Underneath that disguise, it was sheila. The monster we all know and fear.

Katie: To be honest, I really don’t wanna talk about this right now.

Brooke: Okay.

Katie: I– you know what? I’m fine. I am. I’m going to this checkup, I can handle whatever the doctor says. And I– I don’t wanna be harsh, it’s just that these– these things just bring up a lot for me.

Brooke: I understand. I’ll go with you.

Katie: No, no. I’m fine.

Brooke: Katie.

Katie: No, really. I’m okay. It’s not my first rodeo. I can do this on my own.

Brooke: You don’t have to. I know you. You’re worried and you’re stressed out and I wanna be there for you.

Katie: You are. You always are. You and donna both. You’re always there for me, it’s just… these things, every year, it just brings everything to the surface and I feel like– like it was yesterday almost where I was laying in that– that hospital room and everyone was surrounding me and hoping that I would survive and what storm did. You know, what he gave me so that I could live and I have. I have lived. I have this amazing career, I have this amazing son. You know, I… my brother’s heart is beating inside of me and it’s a miracle. It’s a miracle. But we all know that I’m living on borrowed time. We really had our hands full

Carter: So, sheila’s been here this whole time, running around in a wig and a mask?

Taylor: And I can’t believe no one recognized her. Wigs always look so fake. I mean, she could’ve been anywhere. She could’ve hurt one of us.

Steffy: Or hayes.

Taylor: Oh, steffy.

Steffy: We had our guards down because we thought sheila was dead.

Carter: Okay, so you said the forensic team were able to tell she was wearing a disguise.

Steffy: Baker confirmed it. Showed us side-by-side imaging. 98% match when comparing her bone structure and iris scans to her mug shot.

Taylor: Honey, you know, I’m so glad that you and finn went forward with this hunch about her, but please tell me the police have leads.

Steffy: Well, they found some footage of her going into a car and we were able to pull the license plate number.

Carter: That’s huge.

Steffy: Yeah, it is. We were with baker when he got a call from an officer and he said that he found that car. And then, he put his sirens on and that’s when sheila fled. It was a car chase and somehow, she ended up escaping.

Taylor: Oh, my god. She got away, of course.

Carter: How?

Steffy: I don’t know. She just– she hopped the parkway. We thought we had her, but we didn’T.

Carter: So, what do we do now?

Steffy: We have to stay vigilant. Sheila’s out there somewhere, but the police think that she’s gonna stay in a certain radius, west of beverly hills.

Taylor: Great, which is where most of us live.

Carter: Why? I mean, she breaks out of prison, she fakes her death, she escapes the cops, why is she still here? Why is she still in L.A.?

Steffy: Because she’s obsessed with my family, but that is her weakness. I mean, she is an idiot, staying her in los angeles because we are going to find her and when we do, we are going to put her behind bars for the rest of her miserable life.

Brooke: May I?

Katie: Oh.

Brooke: Storm gave you the ultimate gift: His heart. He loves you so much. I’m sure he’s looking down on you right now, just so proud of you, just like we all are. You bring so much joy and so much light into the world. I’m just sorry you had to go through all of this.

Katie: I’m not– I’m not dwelling on it. I’m really not. I mean, you know what? This is going to be an amazing holiday. I’m gonna go to eric’s and I’m going to spend christmas with my sisters and with all my friends and that’s what I’m gonna focus on. Just being with the people I love and the people who– who make me feel loved and make me feel good. I just need to get this doctor’s appointment out of the way.

Brooke: Okay. I’m going with you.

Katie: No, no you’re not. I just– I really wanna just do this by myself.

Brooke: Katie.

Katie: No, brooke.

Brooke: Oh. I just love you so much, you know that? And I don’t know what I did to deserve someone like you. You’re just so loving and thoughtful in my life, but I really am grateful. I am. You’re a very special person. I knew that since the day you were born. I did. And you deserve to live and you will. I’m sholeh and I lost 75 pounds with golo.

Carter: Hey.

Brooke: Hey, carter.

Carter: Have you seen katie? She wasn’t in her office and she’s not answering her phone.

Brooke: She’s probably still at her doctor’s appointment.

Carter: Doctor’s appointment?

Brooke: Oh, I’m sorry. I mean, she didn’t tell you? I thought she would have because you guys have been getting so close.

Carter: No, she didn’t say anything at all. What kind of an appointment is it?

Brooke: It’s her annual regarding her heart transplant.

Carter: Is she okay?

Brooke: Honestly? No. I mean, she’s just scared. She’s never sure how the test results are gonna come back. I wanted to go with her, but she insisted on going alone.

Carter: Well, she shouldn’t be by herself.

Brooke: I agree.

[ Katie sighing ]

Nurse: Hello, ms. Logan. I’m dr. Buckingham’s nurse. I’m so sorry to keep you waiting. Dr. Buckingham’s running behind. She’ll be with you as soon as he can.

Katie: Thank you.

Taylor: Hey, is everything okay?

Steffy: Yeah, just checking in on finn.

Taylor: God, I can’t imagine what he must be going through right now.

Steffy: He’s trying to stay strong for the kids and me. I mean, not in a million years would he think that his mother is some sort of murderous psychopath.

Taylor: I know, honey. God, I just– you know what? This is all going to be over soon, it is.

Steffy: I know. Sheila will get caught. She will. I just– I don’t want to think about her right now. I just need a moment.

Taylor: Yes, okay. Let’s not– let’s not talk about it.

Steffy: There is something I wanna tell you. Like, you know how much I wanted you and dad back together, but not at the cost of your own self-worth.

Taylor: I know. Look, your dad and I will always love each other, but it’s– it’s– it feels really good just to let go, you know?

Steffy: Yeah.

Taylor: Yeah.

Steffy: You and brooke on the same side. I never thought I’d see the day.

Taylor: Right?

Steffy: I wonder what’s going through dad’s mind.

Taylor: Oh, when we told him, he– he, you know, he– he played it cool, you know? But you could tell he was not ready for it at all. Steffy, it felt so good. He did apologize to us for– for hurting both of us and for not being honest, but, you know, it’s um– you know, I’ll– I’ll always love your dad, I really will, but it was– it was good to love myself more, you know? And brooke and i both agreed that it’s time for us to be role models, you know? To our family. To you, to hope, to our grandkids.

Steffy: You’ve always been a great role model, mom. Come on.

Taylor: Well, thank you. I mean, I definitely made my fair share of mistakes.

Steffy: Okay, stop. Please stop. Look, you can’t be hard on yourself. I mean, I was the one who pushed you towards dad, wanted you two to reunite, but I’m not gonna do that anymore. I really need to focus on my husband and my kids and not your relationship, so I– I am so sorry.

Taylor: Oh, god, honey. Please don’t apologize. Seriously. You just wanted to see your parents together. There’s nothing wrong with that.

Steffy: What about the wedding? I feel like I let you down when I objected.

Taylor: Nope. You told the truth. That’s all you did.

Steffy: Yeah, but it wasn’t mine to tell. Maybe I should’ve waited for you to tell dad about thomas when you thought the time was right. Listen, I’m done settling. Because this is my secret.

Taylor: Steffy.

Steffy: Look, I know what you’re gonna say, that it wasn’t my fault.

Taylor: Nope.

Steffy: I have to tell you, I am really, really proud of you for standing up for yourself. And I’m kind of proud of brooke too, believe it or not.

Taylor: Yes, yes, yes. And steffy, you did the right thing. I mean, I– I couldn’t do it at the time, you know? I admire you and you are everything a mother could ever want in a daughter.

Taylor: I love you so much, steffy.

Brooke: You listen to me. You can be angry, you can be mad, you can feel robbed or you can feel like this is a second lease on life. It is your choice. Do you really want to live with all of that negativity? Do you? Or do you wanna embrace life and live it to the fullest?

[ Door opening ]

Katie: Carter, what, uh… what are you doing here?

Carter: I spoke to brooke and she told me about your appointment.

[ Katie sighing ]

Katie: You didn’t have to come. I– I’m a big girl. I know what I’m walking into every time I’m in a doctor’s office. I– I understand the reality of my situation, that’s what I told brooke.

[ Katie sighing ] See? That. That’s what I don’t want. I don’t want you feeling sorry for me. I can do this alone. I’ve been doing this alone for a long time.

Carter: I don’t feel sorry for you. I’m in awe of you. You have so much courage, so much strength and i understand you’ve been going at it alone for a while now and it breaks my heart. You’ve given so much to everyone else, let me give to you. Let me be there for you. You can lean on me. I won’t break.

Grace: I am so sorry to keep you waiting. Um…

Katie: It’s okay. That’s all right. We understand.

Grace: Carter.

Carter: Dr. Buckingham.

Finn: Okay, well, don’t lose her. She can’t get away again.

Baker: Suspect is dangerous. Assumed to be armed. Stay on her. Backup is on its way.

Baker: Is anyone else in the car?

Officer: Negative.

I don’t see anyone.

She’s accelerating. Trying to evade.

[ Sirens blaring ]

Katie: Well, I’m proud of you, you know, and choosing yourself, setting a good example, but ridge has been the love of your life.

Brooke: Yes, he is. He’s always been the center of it. The motivation behind every decision I’ve ever made. I mean, think about it. How much energy did I spend trying to hang onto him or trying to fight for him? And taylor lived her life pretty much the same way, so it had to stop.

Katie: So, you’re just ending the tug of war? You’re both dropping the rope?

Brooke: We’re ending the anxiety and the uncertainty and feeling less than. Ridge went away to do some thinking and taylor and I did some thinking of our own.

Katie: Sounds like it.

Brooke: And ridge is very important to both of us, but we need to take care of ourselves.

Katie: And you said all this to ridge?

Brooke: Yeah. Taylor and i were waiting for him in his office when he got back.

Katie: Oh! That must have been a surprise for him, the two of you together.

Brooke: I think he was more surprised to find out why.

Katie: So, you did it? Literally, you kissed ridge goodbye.

[ Brooke laughing ]

Brooke: Yeah. I mean, it’s about time, right?

Katie: Well, I know what it’s like to reach that point where you’ve just had enough. You know, you can’t do this anymore and you have to move on. And I also know that that can feel liberating, but it’s not always easy. So tell me, how do you really feel about all this?

[ Siren blaring ]

[ Car honking ]

Sheila: No, no. I’m not going back to prison. I’m not going back to prison.

Finn: How long until backup gets there?

Steffy: Try to cut her off. Do a pit maneuver.

Baker: That’s too reckless. We don’t want to endanger the public.

Finn: No, letting sheila get away is the most dangerous thing that you could do.

Baker: Officer, talk to me. What’s– what’s your choice?

Officer: Still in pursuit.

Baker: Backup should be there any minute.

Finn: Okay, well they better get there fast. You give sheila too much time, there’s no telling what she could do.

Katie: I’m not questioning your decision, but I just want you to know, you can be honest with me. I mean, ridge has been a huge part of your life for a long time.

Brooke: And I will miss him.

Katie: So, you are feeling a little bit of a loss?

[ Brooke sighing ]

Brooke: A little, but for the most part I just feel so… so free.

Katie: From ridge?

Brooke: Oh! From this whole cycle that I allowed to happen for so, so long. I’ve been putting all my faith in our destiny when I should have been putting all that faith in myself.

Katie: So, you’re okay?

Brooke: Yeah, I’m okay. I did the right thing for me and for my family. And we weren’t punishing ridge or belittling him in any way.

Katie: Well, you and taylor had every right to feel angry. I mean, he left you and aspen and then, my god, he left taylor at the altar.

Brooke: I know, that was terrible. Really. It was something that taylor and I would blame each other on in the past.

Katie: But not anymore.

Brooke: No, never again!

Katie: I mean, I don’t mean to overstate this but this is huge for you!

Brooke: Yeah. Kind of feels that way to me too. I just didn’t see the point anymore. To blame taylor for my unhappiness or her children to blame me for hers. It didn’t make sense. I mean, we all have choices to make, right? So taylor and I made ours.

Katie: To stop fighting over ridge.

Brooke: I can see how beneficial that is now. Also, I see how at peace you are from moving on from bill. And donna, she chose herself and then she found joy with eric.

Katie: Well, if you’re looking for more peace and joy, you can come to eric’s house for christmas.

Brooke: I will be there. I wouldn’t miss it for the world.

Katie: Yay! Yay! Good.

Brooke: And also this year is gonna be even more special because donna is gonna be there hosting it with him.

Katie: You don’t think thomas will come, do you?

Brooke: I don’t know. I mean, taylor said that he’s gone underground. Nobody’s heard from him.

Katie: It’s probably for the best.

Brooke: Well, we don’t really wanna think about thomas when we have somebody else we need to think about. Sheila carter’s on the loose.

[ Siren blaring ]

Officer: She’s trying to

Finn: Where is air support?

Steffy: Oh, this can’t be happening.

Brooke: I was hoping to see R.J. Over the holidays, but he isn’t coming home.

Katie: Neither is will.

Brooke: Our independent boys.

Katie: Mm-hmm. So R.J., Um, is spending the holidays with friends?

Brooke: Yeah. He was so excited about it. I couldn’t really complain.

Katie: But you wanted to. I know the feeling.

Brooke: I just miss him. I wanna see him, but they have their lives to lead. So what’s will doing?

Katie: Uh, he’s skiing with friends.

Brooke: Oh, nice! And bill didn’t make a big push for the family to be together for christmas?

Katie: Oh, he did. He did. He– he suggested that we, I don’t know, sail around on the stella maris. He– it was crazy because his week long suggestion suddenly turned into months and I– I tried to say no gently, but he was just, he was so upset and hurt and vulnerable. I just don’t know what’s going on with him.

Brooke: Well, it could be a difficult time of the year.

Katie: Yeah. Yeah, it is. Especially with families like ours. And we’re all spread out all over the place and connections are frayed and I just… I don’t know when I’ll see bill again. I mean there’s really no reason to anytime soon. I’m not gonna see him over the holidays.

Brooke: Maybe he’ll meet up with will somewhere.

Katie: Yeah.

Brooke: I don’t think we’ll be seeing thomas. And we may have an unexpected visitor on the radar.

Katie: Oh, don’t say it!

Brooke: Sheila could be anywhere.

Baker: I want all units canvassing the area. She doesn’t have a lot of options right now. Updates every ten minutes.

Finn: So that– that’s it? We just search the city?

Baker: She can’t have gotten far.

Steffy: How can this happen? One minute, she’s trapped, and the next, she’s gone?

Baker: We’re going to find her. Now, unfortunately we lost her around beverly hills, so that’s close to your families. They need to be extremely careful. Alert your security teams.

Finn: Look, you– you– you had her! She was about to be caught!

Baker: We’ll get her back.

Finn: How? Every time we close in on her, she slips away. How much closer do we need to get? My family’s in incredible danger right now!

Baker: And I intend to make sure that nothing happens to them. Sheila carter has been playing games with us, but she’s not going to win. I’m going to find her and I’m going to bring her to justice.

Steffy: I wanna believe you, chief, but sheila has been playing this game long enough and she always escapes!

Brooke: I know sheila is dangerous, but if she really wanted to harm us, she’s had plenty of time.

Katie: Maybe she’ll leave town.

Brooke: Maybe or she’ll try.

Katie: Do you think they’ll catch her?

Brooke: I certainly hope so. Until they do, we can’t let this paralyze us with fear because I know that’s what she wants. That’s how she can control us. But we need this. We need this time to celebrate. We have to have this holiday together.

Katie: Do you have enough security?

Brooke: As much as we can without turning the house and the office into a fortress.

Katie: Oh, it’s sheila who should be in jail, not us.

Brooke: Exactly.

Katie: Have you heard anything new from the police?

Brooke: They’re updating their security team, and if there’s something we need to be aware of, I’m sure they’ll tell us.

Katie: Do you feel confident that sheila will be found?

Brooke: She can’t get away this time.

Finn: Are they gonna find her? She couldn’t have gone far.

Steffy: That’s what I’m afraid of. My family lives in that neighborhood. I mean, she could be headed there right now.

Finn: Well, you heard the cops. She’s fleeing.

Steffy: And she always escapes! Look what happened last time! She shows up and she took you hostage.

Finn: Okay. Nothing like that’s gonna happen again.

Steffy: Something always happens when it comes to sheila! She terrorized our family. She attacked my mother, my grandmother, and when we finally thought we could put her behind us, you know what she does? She shows up! She shows up at our wedding and she announces that she’s your birth mother! She’s a threat to us and she’s a threat to our children. And when I finally figured out a way to drive her away, I forgot. I forgot who I was dealing with.

Finn: Hey. Hey. You’re just trying to protect your family, okay?

Steffy: You’re not

going anywhere.

Sheila: Let go of me.

What the hell do you think

you’re doing?

Steffy: You claim to be

this reformed woman.

Finn: I almost died, but I fought my way back so I could come home to you, right? So, I could be your husband again and be a father to our kids. That’s all I thought about when I was wounded and trapped in that room. It was our family and our life together. That’s all I’m thinking about right now, okay? That’s how I know that they’re gonna find sheila and bring her to justice because I am not gonna give up until they do. Sheila’s gonna go to prison and our family will be safe.

Steffy: Oh, god!

Finn: Okay?

Steffy: Oh!

Sheila: You thought you could catch me? Think again. [ Evil laughter ]

Finn: Wait, so, brooke and taylor were united?

Steffy: Yeah.

Finn: That’s crazy.

Steffy: I– I know, it was so crazy. But, like, in the best way.

Finn: Wait, and you’re not disappointed? I mean, you’ve been pushing so hard to get your parents back together.

Steffy: Well, I’ve always wanted my mom to be happy, but I thought, you know, some of her happiness would be, with my father. But to see my mother and brooke put their differences aside, and choose themselves over a man? The happiness was there. And it was really powerful, and, inspiring. I’m so proud of my mom.

Finn: I am, too. But, I am nervous about mine. I mean, as much as I want to applaud brooke and taylor, it’s hard to have anything else on my mind, other than sheila, knowing that she’s still alive.

[ Knocking at door ]

Eric: Carter.

Carter: Hey, eric. Um, what’s going on?

Eric: I was hoping to have a word with you. Alone.

Carter: Okay

[ Uncomfortable chuckle ]

Bill: You’re guarded. I– I don’t blame you. But you could’ve phoned me off, you didn’t have come tonight, bu– but you did. You’re here. And that tells me, that maybe, you really do still care about me.

Katie: Bill, of course I care about you. I will always care about you–

Steffy: It still freaks me out that I bumped into sheila.

Carter: And it’s never quite worked out.

Carter: No, I think katie’s finally realized that bill can’t give her what she needs. A man who can commit to only her, and not have eyes for her sister.

Carter: I think so. No, katie would not have to worry about that with me. If I was lucky enough to be with her, she would never have to question my commitment.

Eric: You should tell katie that. Maybe under some mistletoe.

Carter: Mistletoe?

Eric: Uh-huh. Why don’t you come to the house for christmas, if you don’t have any other plans? Katie’ll be there.

Carter: Thank you. Yeah, I’d love to.

Eric: Oh, and as an added incentive, ah, bill is not on the guest list.

Carter: That’s even better.

[ Both chuckling ] Actually, she’s, um, with him now.

Eric: She is?

Carter: He reached out. Asked her to come over, she said he doesn’t sound like himself.

Eric: Yeah, well, whatever it is, it’s– it’s a manipulation. It’s a ploy.

Carter: A ploy?

Eric: He’s trying to get her to come back.

Bill: What better way to spend the holidays than the three of us, alone on our yacht, away from it all?

Katie: So you– you wanna do this soon?

Bill: Listen, we– we can stay away for weeks, for months, there’s no reason not to. Katie, I need this. You’ve no idea how much I need this time with you and our son.

Katie: I get that you want it, but, you– you keep saying that you need it.

Bill: I do. Seriously. You are my anchor. And, without you, I’ve– I’m sort of floating, uh, around, lately. Without you to ground me, it is a need. You are. I need you katie, like never before.

Finn: Is that why you’re here? You got sheila?

Steffy: Please say that’s true.

Chief baker: Not quite.

Steffy: What do you mean, not quite?

Chief baker: Well, it took a bit of digging, but we were able to pull some footage of her.

Steffy: But– but deacon said that they weren’t able to catch anything on camera at el jardino?

Chief baker: You think I trust deacon sharp? Hmph. No. We checked nearby establishments. A place down the street caught her on camera, she was leaving the restaurant. Didn’t look much like sheila, either, I’ll tell ya that. We have a direct match. Sheila carter is alive. Here we have our mystery woman caught on camera.

Steffy: This is the woman I bumped into!

Chief baker: Forensics was able to confirm with facial recognition, and retinal scan. It’s a 98% match. In our world, it means “no doubt”.

Finn: I knew it! I knew it!

Steffy: Oh my god, this whole time! Sheila really has been alive! When our daughter and her kids moved in with us… our bargain detergent couldn’t keep up. Turns out it’s mostly water. So, we switched back to tide. One wash, stains are gone.

Finn: Look, we were all but certain that sheila severed her own toe and staged the bear attack. It was just a theory. Now the police have actual proof, after your bump-in with her.

Chief baker: I have to commend the both of you for re-examining the evidence. If it wasn’t for you two, this case would still be closed.

Steffy: Okay, but we’re still no closer to catching her.

Chief baker: I wouldn’t say that. The security footage was very useful. Not just in terms of proving that sheila was alive, but also, telling us where to find her.

Steffy: You know what kind of car she was driving?

Chief baker: Even better. Her license plate.

Finn: I’m– I’m all right.

Finn: It’s a lot to process, knowing that sheila’s alive, but I’m going to do whatever it takes to protect the people I love.

Steffy: I know.

Finn: Sheila won’t be free much longer. She made a big mistake. She should’ve stayed undercover or left town immediately after escaping prison.

Hope: Oh, sorry to interrupt. Um. Did you ever hear what happened with our parents or?

Steffy: No. I’m guessing you haven’t either?

Hope: Nothing.

Steffy: I’m dying to know what’s going on.

Hope: I feel the same.

Taylor: I can’t believe we did this.

Brooke: I can’t believe we did it. Oh, and the look on ridge’s face? Oh, gosh. He couldn’t believe we did it either.

Taylor: Wow.

[ Brooke sighing ] Yeah.

Brooke: Are you sorry?

Taylor: I am.

Brooke: You are?

Taylor: That we didn’t do this 30 years ago.

Liam: Nothing. Uh, it’s just a little weird to see you primping. Is that a diffuser?

Bill: Yeah, sure is. Smells nice, right? I’m doing this for katie, liam, all right? She loves this stuff. I want her to feel totally comfortable when she comes over and ideally, she’s gonna stay for the rest of her life.

Liam: Are you expecting katie?

Bill: She agreed to come by for a talk. And I’m hopeful that this is finally the night that I convince my katie to come home.

[ Carter groaning ]

Carter: Today turned out to be a longer day than I expected.

[ Carter and katie laughing ] But I’m not complaining. I got to spend more time with you.

Katie: I was just thinking the same thing.

Carter: Let’s keep it going. Have dinner with me.

Katie: I would love to, but bill called and I agreed to see him.

Liam: Uh, I’m kinda surprised katie agreed to come over.

Bill: Yeah, well, that’s why I’m encouraged. I mean, she could’ve just blow me off, but instead she agreed to come. I’m taking that as a positive sign.

Liam: Yeah. I don’t know.

Bill: I do. After tonight, things are gonna be very different for katie and me.

Carter: So, you’re going to see bill.

Katie: Yeah.

Carter: I have to admit that I’m quite surprised, katie. You know what he wants. He’s gonna pressure you to take him back. Why put yourself through that again?

Katie: He just doesn’t seem like himself. I’m worried about him.

Steffy: Charlie said that my dad was with both of our moms. That has to mean that he’s made a decision.

Hope: Okay, but where is everybody and why haven’t we heard from anyone?

Steffy: I don’t know. This is so weird.

Charlie: Hi. Um, sorry to interrupt. I just wanted everybody to know that there is zero chance of sheila carter breaching this building. Why? Because I have my top security on this and I have eyes in the back of my head. See?

Steffy: Ch– charlie, what exactly happened?

Hope: Yeah, did ridge leave here with my mom?

Steffy: Or mine?

Brooke: Oh, this is sparkling water for you, my darling.

Taylor: Ooh, the hard stuff.

Brooke: Did you ever imagine in a million years that you and I could get to this moment at the same time?

Taylor: Never in a million years. I can’t believe this. I mean, after– after all this time, and– and ridge just waffling back between me and you and– it just became a way of life.

Brooke: I know. It’s horrible. It went on so long that we came to accept it. You and I, we took our power back and it feels incredible.

Charlie: Because I didn’t see brooke or taylor or ridge leave the building. But, I do have camera footage, if you’d like to see it.

Steffy: Maybe we should text them?

Finn: What’s going on?

Steffy: My mom’s at brooke’s too.

Carter: So, what’s got you so worried about bill all of a sudden?

Katie: He just doesn’t sound like himself.

Katie: No, no. I– I’ve been through every bill mood there is, you know. The highs, the lows, the in-betweens. I just– I’ve just never heard him sound so… vulnerable.

Bill: I’m telling you, liam. Katie and I are on the brink of a new beginning. I’m not saying I don’t have a lot of damage control ahead of me, but I’m willing to do whatever it takes and I think katie realizes that. I just want her to give me another chance.

Taylor: You know, I never wanted to be your life long enemy, brooke. ‘Cause you know why? You’re a bad ass. You.

Brooke: Me?

Taylor: Yes, you. You are. You’re– you’re so creative. You left a mark on the fashion industry, which is huge, and you’re really smart. And the hottest chemist I have ever seen.

Brooke: Oh.

Taylor: You know the best part though? You love your family. You’re a good mom. I could see how ridge was swept away.

Brooke: Well, don’t underestimate yourself, taylor. I have respect for you too. What you’ve chosen to do with your life. How you get up every single morning determined to help people who are struggling. You are a healer and that is incredible.

Taylor: You know, this is the nicest we have ever been to each other.

Brooke: We haven’t had many chances to be nice.

Taylor: Because we’ve been fighting over a stupid man.

Brooke: I mean why? We’re parents. We’re grandparents.

Taylor: No. No, and then he asked me to marry him and he basically left me at the altar again! Hm.

Brooke: I’m sorry you had to go through that.

Taylor: Yeah. And I’m sorry that you had to go to through everything you went through too and… you know what I have to say about it all?

Katie: You’re right. You’re absolutely right, but he is will’s father and that means that whatever he does affects will and I have to pay attention to that.

Katie: You said she was the great love of your life.

Bill: That’s not true. I didn’t mean that. I wish I could take those words back. You and I share a son and I love you and will more than words could possibly express and I miss us. I miss our beautiful family. I miss the life that we should be sharing.

Katie: The life we would be sharing if you hadn’t thrown it away. And I will never understand why. I will never understand why– how you could be so reckless with everything that we built together.

Bill: Maybe I didn’t feel like I deserved it. Maybe I– I– I don’t deserve– I– I– don’t know, katie. I get… I get in this bad, uh, head space and, uh, I make– I make poor decisions. Ridge: So, I’m surprised to see both of you here.

Brooke: Why not welcome you back from your trip?

Taylor: Yeah. It went well?

Ridge: Did– did it go well? I wasn’t– I wasn’t on holiday. It was– I was, um… I spent time soul searching, if that’s what they call it.

Brooke: Glad to hear it.

Taylor: Yeah, me too.

Ridge: Okay. I got a text.

Taylor: Yeah, we both wanted to see you.

Brooke: Yeah.

Ridge: And that’s understandable. I– I could only imagine what you guys have been going through and now, I just– for my part in this, I apologize. I’m sorry.

Brooke: Are you?

Taylor: Are you really, ridge?

Hope: I think ridge might be coming back to los angeles to reunite with my mother.

Steffy: Wouldn’t count on it.

Hope: Well, we know ridge left to do some thinking.

Steffy: Well, the more time he considers what he wants in life, I think he’ll realize it’s my mother.

Hope: But, if he has to think that hard about it, is it really meant to be?

[ Knocking on door ]

All: Hi.

Finn: We, uh, ran into each other on the elevator.

Hope: Oh, uh, well I think it’s good you’re both here.

Liam: Yeah, why? To referee?

Steffy: No, actually. Hope and I were having a fairly civilized conversation.

Liam: Why? What happened?

Steffy: My father is coming back home.

Liam: Oh, wait. So ridge is on his way home now?

Steffy: Yeah.

Finn: He must have made his decision. Either he’s gonna spend his future with taylor or with brooke.

Hope: I think we all know what direction this is headed in.

Steffy: I can see it now. My parents married, living blissfully at the beach house.

Hope: I know that’s what you want to have happen, steffy.

Steffy: That’s what’s gonna happen.

Liam: Well, okay, to be fair, the only reason ridge and brooke broke up in the first place was because of thomas’ whole stupid scheme with the fix–

Steffy: I admit, what my brother did was reckless, and I do feel bad for brooke, but it doesn’t erase the bond my parents created.

Hope: Even though a big part of it is based on a lie?

Finn: No. Ridge made it very clear that the cps call had no bearing on him wanting to marry taylor.

Liam: Yeah, true, but he didn’t go through with the wedding, so.

Steffy: Okay, part of me does wish I didn’t say anything and I let my mom tell my father about thomas after the ceremony. They still would be together right now.

Ridge: Did anything happen while I was gone?

Taylor: Well, I–

Charlie: And there he is. The big cheese. The grand fromage. Welcome back to los angeles, oh, exalted one. Get the sense that my timing is a little bad here. I’ll uh, circle back later.

Taylor: Alrighty. So, um, where were we?

Brooke: Well, um, we were wondering if ridge really does feel remorseful.

Taylor: Oh, that’s right.

Ridge: I do. I’m, uh– I’m more sorry than I could say. I’m trying to explain to you–

Taylor: We are not here to listen to your explanations or your apologies, so.

Brooke: No. You are here to listen to us.

Taylor: Yeah. To actually hear us. You’ve put us through a lot.

Steffy: It’s complicated things have been ratherkies last night.

Hope: Well, at least the kids seem unaware of all the concern. They had a blast decorating cookies last night.

Steffy: Yeah, they did. Kelly’s finalizing her list for santa, singing songs. I mean, it does feel normal at times.

Finn: It’s nice considering things have been rather unpredictable lately.

Liam: That’s the understatement of the decade. Somehow, I didn’t have sheila coming back from the dead on my bingo card.

Steffy: It’s complicated enough.

Hope: Yeah. And then we had thomas faking that cps call, trying to ruin my mom’s marriage.

Liam: See, that right there, I’ve given up on trying to predict everybody’s next move.

Steffy: Same, but I do have my suspicions.

Hope: Steffy, we all know you want your parents to ride off into the sunset together.

Steffy: I do.

Hope: Okay, just… you know, ridge has let you down before. That’s all I’m saying.

Finn: To be fair, we just need to wait it out.

Liam: We all know that you both want what’s best for your mothers.

Hope: Yeah, but at this point, it’s almost a guarantee that one of our moms is going to get her heart broken.

Steffy: Well, we do know how much brooke wants this to work out in her favor. I’m predicting a meltdown.

Charlie: Hi, everybody. And what a handsome group you are too.

Liam: Hey, charlie. How’ve you been, man?

Charlie: Well, I’ve been good. I, uh, don’t mean to interrupt, but I have some breaking news that you might want to hear.

Steffy: Is– is this about the raffle prizes for pam’s bake off because we really don’t need to hear that right now.

Charlie: No, it’s about– it’s about your right hand man. You’re co-compadre?

Steffy: What?

Charlie: Your dad. He’s back.

Steffy: Charlie, I know. Yeah, he’s coming home.

Charlie: N– no, no, no. I mean he’s back, back, back. He– ridge is on the premises.

Hope: Already?

Charlie: Yeah. He’s in the office de grand fromage having a tete-a-tete-a-tete.

Hope: So, who’s he with?

Steffy and hope: My mom?

Charlie: Affirmative. And affirmative.

Steffy: What do you mean, charlie? Is my father with my mom?

Hope: Or with mine?

Charlie: Well, ridge is with taylor.

Steffy: Oh, thank god.

Charlie: And brooke.

Hope: Wait, so ridge is with both of them?

Brooke: Taylor and i have been talking.

Ridge: You’ve been talking. Well that’s– that’s good.

Taylor: Is it good? Is it?

Ridge: Yes, it’s good. I’ve always said that you– you guys should talk to each other. You have a lot in common. You have a lot of– a lot of things to talk about, see eye to eye on a few things, right? Why not?

Taylor: Yeah, well we definitely see eye to eye on a few things now.

Brooke: Yup, yup. We have a lot more in common than we even realized.

Ridge: I’ve always been saying that.

Brooke: We’re mothers and we have successful careers and we’ve been waiting for the same man most of our adult life. So, did you… process any of your thinking?

Taylor: Well, I’m thinking he did because he went away to process and gain a new perspective, you know.

Brooke: Of course. And you went away too.

Taylor: I did too. I went away also. I went away to do the same thing and I kind of wanted to stay away, you know, like I’ve done in the past, but then I realized, I want to stay in los angeles.

Ridge: I’m not sure what you guys are doing here, but um, glad you’re back. For the kids.

Taylor: For the kids. For the kids, yup. That’s what this is all about. Yeah. Speaking of our kids, I should’ve told you what thomas did before the ceremony started, I know. But man, I was– I was thrown off balance. I… I kept thinking about all of the promises that you had made me in aspen. Your commitment to me, to our kids. I just… I wanted to believe you. I did believe you. I– I… I took you at your word. But I do want you to know that uh, the time we spent together was um… magic.

Brooke: And I want you to know that, uh, you’ve always been the love of my life, and you still are.

Taylor: You know, I’ve never known you as anything but a– but a wonderful man, a loving father. My heart… yeah.

Brooke: I feel the same way every breath that I’ve taken, every heartbeat has all been for you.

Taylor: My best friend.

Brooke: My destiny. But you can’t have both of us, ridge.

Ridge: I know. And I went away because I… I know I can only be with one of you.

Taylor: No.

Brooke: You can’T.

Liam: So, the three of them are together right now? Ridge, brooke and taylor. In one room.

Hope: Mm-hm.

Liam: Cool.

Hope: Yeah. Sounds pretty intense. I wonder what they’re talking about.

Finn: Well, whatever ridge does, whomever he chooses, I hope he lets the other one down gently.

Steffy: Yeah, my father’s not gonna be a jerk about it.

Hope: But it’s not really fair it’s up to him. I mean, he’s kind of… he has their future in his hands.

Steffy: I’m sure he’s not enjoying this. He’s not going to take it lightly.

Liam: Like we had to witness brooke suffering first hand when she thought it was like, over over and I– I– I do not want to watch her go through that again.

Hope: Yeah, I don’t think she’ll be the one hurting.

Steffy: You haven’t seen my parents together. The love they have between each other, the joy.

Hope: We could say the same thing about ridge and my mom. I mean, I grew up with it. I’ve heard all the stories, you know, about how they first met, my mom catering at the forrester estate. How they locked eyes from across the room and it was love at first sight, but I do have to say, I think that love is going strong.

Brooke: As much as I adore you, ridge, when you left me in aspen–

Ridge: I left you in aspen because I thought you betrayed me, my son and my family.

Brooke: I know. You told me you thought it was my voice, but it wasn’T. It was thomas! But the thing that really gets me is that you didn’t talk to me about it. You didn’t open up, and if you did, we could’ve handled it right then and there. Instead, you ran off to aspen, I followed you there, you walked away from me, I had no idea what was going on. I thought I did something. I mean, oh, my god! Who does that? What kind of man runs to taylor, to propose to her, all the while, he’s still married to me?

Ridge: I’m sorry I hurt you.

Taylor: You hurt both of us, ridge. I didn’t know any of this. Nothing. You came chasing after me, like literally chased me. You chased me up a mountain. Because I was running away from you, and I told you to leave. But you didn’T. You stayed. You stayed me and you convinced me and you pleaded with me and you told me that this time was different. Out of all the other times, this time was different because– because you had seen the light. And you knew what you wanted and that was me. For always. And then you promised me that you would… keep my heart safe. And I bought it. I bought it! And then what happens? We get engaged. And then, what did you do at the wedding? What– what happened at the wedding?

Ridge: What did I do or what happened?

Taylor: Both.

Ridge: Steffy objected.

Taylor: Oh okay, so that’s– that’s what you’re going to say to everything I just said. Sure, steffy objected. She knew that thomas had made that cps call on himself and she also knew how important it was to not start a marriage on a lie. And here’s what I was thinking. The same thing because if what you promised me in aspen was the truth, we would’ve gotten married regardless. But we didn’T. You walked away. You left me there with my heart shattered. Again. You lied! Why? This is wrong, ridge. Everything, everything you have done is wrong! God!

Steffy: Look, I know all about brooke and my father’s romantic history. Who doesn’t?

Hope: Well then, you should understand why a bond like that isn’t easily broken.

Steffy: I’m not clueless. I know on some level that my father will always love brooke. I just don’t want her to continue to be obsessed over him. Brooke was with my father for many, many years and now, it’s time for my father to be with my mother.

Hope: So now taylor gets a turn? Steffy, this is not how this should work.

Steffy: Look. Obviously, our mothers are fighting over the same man, and that man happens to be my father. You think that brooke needs my father and I think my mom does.

Taylor: We don’t need you, ridge.

Brooke: No. We are not weak women.

Ridge: I never said that you’re weak women. You are strong, independent women.

Taylor: You have no idea how strong we’ve had to be.

Brooke: We have been stuck in this same cycle for decades.

Taylor: For decades! You’ve had it good though. You have two families. One with me, one with brooke. You love two women. Lucky guy.

Brooke: But you can’t have two women. I mean, we both love you, ridge, but…

Ridge: But what?

Taylor: But we’re tired and exhausted, actually.

Brooke: Yes. We are better than this.

Taylor: We’re done fighting.

Brooke: We deserve to be happy.

Ridge: I agree. I always agreed with that.

Steffy: Mom, why didn’t you tell me you were coming home?

Taylor: Oh because I was– you know what? Never mind. It doesn’t matter. I’m back.

Steffy: I’m so happy that you are.

Taylor: Yeah.

Steffy: Yeah, I have, uh, so much to fill you in on.

Taylor: Really?

Steffy: Yeah.

Taylor: What? What? Tell me.

Steffy: No, we have plenty of time. First off, I wanna know how you’re doing. How are you? How are you?

Taylor: I am okay. I am. I– I– why? Do I not seem okay?

Steffy: No, you seem fine. You look beautiful, but… looks could also be deceiving.

Taylor: Yes, they can. But no, I’m really good. I am.

Steffy: Okay.

Taylor: Speaking of deceiving, have you heard from your brother?

Steffy: No. I really don’t care about him right now, especially what he did to you and dad.

[ Taylor sighing ] Besides, I wanna hear about you. Have you heard from dad?

Brooke: Can you imagine literally running into sheila carter the way steffy did at il giardino.

[ Brooke sighing ] I mean, she was in disguise, but…

Hope: Steffy was sure it was her. Missing toe and all.

Brooke: Gosh, that woman has brought so much terror into our lives for years.

Hope: Well, I mean, at some point, sheila’s luck has to run out and she will be caught.

Brooke: Meanwhile, we’re all back to being on high alert and added security.

Hope: Do you think ridge knows what’s happening?

Brooke: No. Steffy didn’t want her parents to be concerned, so she didn’t say anything.

Hope: So, you still haven’t spoken to him.

Brooke: No, but rumor has it he’s on his way back today.

Hope: Mm. How does that make you feel?

Steffy: Well, have you?

Taylor: Have I spoken to your father?

Steffy: You two left and went your separate ways.

Taylor: Yeah, yeah. Ridge had to process what he was feeling and I did too.

Steffy: Yeah, obviously you did. I mean, you’re here, back in los angeles.

Taylor: I am. You know, I– I sorted through some anger I was having and tried to understand the questionable choices I made.

Steffy: If thomas hadn’t made that call to cps.

[ Steffy sighing ] Mom, look, I understand that you’re upset with yourself and with dad for not being totally truthful. So, I want you to know that, um, from here on out, I’m not gonna push you towards dad. Look, I know I didn’t go to the lengths thomas did, but I– I still got caught up in the moment, and I’d be lying if I didn’t say that– I mean, part of me does want you and dad back together.

Brooke: How do I feel?

Hope: Yeah. I mean, your marriage was derailed by thomas, interfered with by nearly everybody. I mean, mom, you were wronged.

Brooke: And ridge knows that and he’s apologized over and over again, but that doesn’t mean we can go back to the way we were before he walked out on me.

Hope: Oh, no. Of course not. A lot has happened, but–

Brooke: Now is the time to take stock in where things stand. For all of us. I made it very clear to ridge before he left town that he needed to do some soul searching and he realized he needed to do that as well. I’m just hoping that he has. (Birds chirping)

Taylor: You know, your father’s due back today.

Steffy: Is that why you came back to town?

Taylor: No. I was already on my way back when I found out.

Steffy: I have to admit, I still feel terrible that I was the one that told the truth.

Taylor: Oh, come on. Someone in that room had to be honest. Seriously, there– I’m so glad you did it because I– I couldn’t do it. I love that you did that.

Steffy: So, you’re okay that it’s now out in the open.

Taylor: Yes, yes I am. Seriously because that– that day was just filled with lots of untruths and you know, your father deserved to know.

Steffy: I know that you think about what dad deserves, but you have to think about you and what you deserve.

Taylor: Mm.

Steffy: You need to be happy with your head held high. Self-loving, self-respecting.

Taylor: Mm-hm.

Steffy: And if it’s with dad, great, and if it’s not, then…

Taylor: Yeah, I don’t– I wish I could– I wish I could tell you how I was feeling, but I– I can’T.

Steffy: And I get that. I get that.

[ Taylor sighing ]

[ Phone ringing ]

Ridge: Hello, dad.

Eric: Hi, ridge. Just checking in with you. How are you doing?

Ridge: Well, you’re gonna see that for yourself in just a little while. I’m on my way back.

Eric: Yes, I saw that you’re using the plane.

Ridge: All right, I’m gonna bring it right back. Gonna park it right where I found it. Not a scratch on that thing. I need to come back home.

Eric: There’s been a lot going on here that you’ve missed.

Ridge: What do you mean? Is everything okay with the family?

Eric: The family’s fine. Forrester creations is fine. You just need to know you’ve been missed.

Ridge: That’s nice. That’s nice to hear. Thank you. But, I needed this time. I just need to figure some things out, you know.

Eric: Wasn’t that the point of this trip? For you to gain some clarity?

Ridge: Yes, that– that was the whole point and– and I know what I’m going to do.

Eric: Son, you need to commit to one of them. You need to make a choice. Enough of this going back and forth. Is it brooke or is it taylor? What’s your decision?

Taylor: Yeah, just schedule mr. Dulcet for next week and you know, let him know I hope he feels better and we’ll reschedule for after the holidays. Okay, thanks audrey.

Brooke: Well, I didn’t realize you were back in town.

Taylor: Yes, I am. I, uh, had to just get away and take a little breather after my wedding day debacle.

Brooke: So, is it just a– a coincidence you came back the same day ridge is coming home or did you plan it?

Taylor: No, I am. I’m feeling– I’m feeling much better. Thanks for asking. Oh, you didn’t ask, did you? No, brooke. It wasn’t planned. I was on my way home and here I am.

Brooke: Yeah, here you are. Reinvigorated and determined to win ridge back yet again. Even though you weren’t really honest with him when it mattered the most.

Taylor: Yeah, I did that, didn’t I? I should’ve told ridge what thomas did as soon as I found out and I didn’t and…

Brooke: It cost you the wedding you’ve wanted for so many years.

Taylor: Yeah, but I didn’t want it like that. That– that phone call changed a lot for both of us.

Brooke: Indeed. You know, when I was in aspen in ridge, he just kept telling me to, “just say it.” Of course, I had no idea what he was talking about until I found out what thomas did. How he called child protective services on himself. So, ridge leaving me, ending our marriage, was based on a lie and a manipulation.

Taylor: Yeah, it seems that way, doesn’t it? You know, but, I also know that, you know, what ridge and I have, the love that we share is real and very special. And no one and nothing is ever gonna take that away from us. When you really need to sleep.

Hope: Sheila’s still out there. Yeah. Okay, but call me if you have any updates. I love you too.

Steffy: Liam?

Hope: Uh, yeah. I was just touching base, seeing if he heard anything.

Steffy: Same with finn and the police. Still no new information.

Hope: I know they’re doing everything that they can, but still, everything doesn’t feel like quite enough when it comes to sheila.

Steffy: Yeah, I get it. I mean, I’m still trying to wrap my head around everything. There’s definitely a lot weighing on us, especially with our moms and my father.

[ Speaker pinging ]

Trevor: We’ll be landing in los angeles shortly, mr. Forrester. Please fasten your seatbelt and store any unsecured items.

Taylor: Hm.

Brooke: You’ll never stop loving ridge, will you?

Taylor: And neither will you.

Brooke: Well, that’s one thing we have in common. Probably the only thing.

Taylor: No, you know what else we have in common, brooke? We both love our kids.

Brooke: Yes, that’s true. But when it comes to thomas–

Taylor: Ah. I love my son very much, but I hate what he did to you. I hate it. It was awful what he put you through. I– I– I truly feel terrible about that.

Brooke: I actually believe you mean it.

Taylor: Good, because I do. For you to lose ridge the way you did because– because thomas put the final nail in your marriage coffin–

Brooke: You know that would’ve never happened. Ridge would’ve never have left me. He wouldn’t have gone to aspen. There wouldn’t have been an annulment papers.

Taylor: God. Oh, god. It’s just so confusing to me. Thomas– thomas has a lot to make up for, he really does, but I don’t think he understands the damage that he’s caused. But right now, steffy is furious with her brother.

Brooke: I am very grateful for steffy, stepping up the way she did. And I know she didn’t do that for me, but it did cost her a lot. You’re probably very proud of her.

Taylor: My daughter is amazing. She did what I should’ve done, you know? She saved the day and I love her so much for that. And you’re right, it did cost her. She was so close to having her parents married again.

Brooke: Probably won’t happen now.

Taylor: You know, the time that– that ridge and i shared together was, you know, it’S… it was all very special and then, all of this happened and we both went away. Just to deal with all of the confusion, and now, ridge is coming back. Have you talked to ridge at all?

Brooke: No. I told him that he should go away and think about what he wants out of his life, you know? I was determined to give him that. What have we done? What have we done? I mean, it’s been years like this, this back and forth with ridge. You and me just chasing a dream, defending our families.

Taylor: Yeah, now we’re wondering who’s gonna end up with her dream. I tried everything to remove fabric odors, trevor.

Trevor: Welcome back to los angeles, mr. Forrester.

Ridge: Why, thank you, trevor.

Trevor: You know, I can only imagine how eager your family is to see you.

Ridge: I’m eager to see them too.

Hope: What did chief baker say?

Steffy: Just the same thing over and over and over again. That he’s gonna have his men work on it 24/7, but until sheila’s in custody, I’m gonna be freaked out about this.

Hope: It’s like we’re constantly having to look over our shoulders, wondering if sheila is gonna do something crazy again or even worse.

Steffy: Yeah. It really gets you in the holiday spirit.

Hope: Huh.

Steffy: To think my dad is coming home to this. My mom and my dad, they have no idea what happened. I mean, they already have so much on their plate.

Hope: Yeah. If only thomas had stayed out of it.

Steffy: Tell me about it. What my brother did, it was reckless and it was stupid. He hurt all of us. Especially our mothers.

Hope: Yeah, well, they were both the victims of his deception, although I still can’t believe that taylor was willing to go through with the marriage–

Steffy: She was going to–

Hope: With the wedding.

Steffy: She was going to tell him after the ceremony.

Hope: Yeah, but that still doesn’t excuse the fact that she–

Steffy: My father still professed his love to my mother. He wanted to marry her and they love each other. It’s not about brooke and what she’s done.

Hope: No, and I’m not saying otherwise, I just– I think if we are being honest with ourselves, if it wasn’t for thomas’ interference, your father and my mom would probably still be married and that’s why I believe that ridge is coming back for her.

Ridge: Hi.

Taylor: Hi.

Ridge: It was uneventful. How are things here?

Brooke: We’re all hanging in. Right, taylor?

Taylor: I’m going to assume you’re back because you’ve– you’ve made your decision. Who you’re gonna choose. But I guess we have something to say about that.

Steffy: None of this is your fault, finn.

Finn: Look, I– I vowed to protect you and the kids. Our family. And instead, I put you at risk. Sheila was in this restaurant. You two were face-to-face.

Steffy: All this time, we thought she was dead. Sheila’s alive.

Hope: Thank you. I still need to go over them with production though.

Brooke: Oh, I’ll do that for you, if you need me to.

Hope: Are you sure?

Brooke: Yeah. I need to stay busy. I wanna work, especially now that ridge is gone. You know, there’s only so much christmas shopping I can do.

Hope: Okay, true. And there is a lot to do here. I mean, our collection is blowing up.

Brooke: You should be very proud. It’s st a little bittersweet, given that thomas was a huge part of that success. And knowing that he was just trying to sabotage your marriage just…

Hope: Mom, I know, it’s just, I find it a little hard to relax knowing that sheila carter could still be out there somewhere.

Hope: I just– I keep hoping that finn and steffy are wrong. I mean, sheila, she can’t be alive. I mean, how is that even possible, but what if it is true?

Brooke: It is a disturbing thought, but we all know what sheila is capable of. And I hate to say it, but finn and steffy, they are right to be worried.

Steffy: Finn, I know you wanna take this on yourself, but you’re one of sheila’s victims too.

Paul: Hey, guys. I just heard about the bump in. I’m gonna let everyone know to keep an eye out, okay?

Finn: Thank you. Deacon is going through the security footage to see if it was caught on camera.

Baker: All right. You can tape this right here at this table. Tape that table off there. No questions. Ah, dr. Finnegan, ms. Forrester. I’m glad the both of you are here. I need to get your statements before we talk to the staff.

Finn: Thank you for coming.

Baker: Of course. I wanna get to the bottom of this as bad as you do. So, tell me what happened.

Steffy: I saw sheila carter here in this restaurant.

[ Phone ringing ]

Deacon: Come on, pick up.

Sheila: Why are you calling me again? I told you not to worry about me.

Deacon: Well, you know, I’d love not to worry, except I’m looking at the security footage and I’m worried as hell.

Sheila: You just– you just need to stay out of this.

Deacon: That’d be great, except your super smart son and his wife put me on the job.

Sheila: Wait, so you’re working for them? But you’re calling me?

Deacon: Nobody knows I have this burner phone. Listen to me. This is important. Sheila, when you ran into steffy, it was– it was in the hallway, right outside the bathroom.

Sheila: Yes.

Deacon: And nobody else was there?

[ Sheila sighing ]

Sheila: I don’t know. I don’t think so.

Deacon: Hold on, hold on. I think I found it. Yeah, caught on camera.

Sheila: Can you see my face?

Deacon: Well, you’re wearing that stupid disguise, but yeah.

Sheila: You need to get rid of it.

Deacon: What?

Sheila: Steffy, finn, no one can see that footage, deacon. Just delete it. Now! Hey! It’s me! Your dry skin!

Brooke: If finn is right and sheila’s alive, the police will confirm it.

Hope: Oh, so then what? They open her case and start looking for her again?

Brooke: If they haven’t already.

[ Hope sighing ]

Hope: Just, finn and steffy have already been through so much. I mean, sheila tried to kill both of them. This must be theirBrooke: Yes. It is a very stressful situation for all of us. But, we can’t let the fear set in.

Hope: Are you nervous about staying home alone in the house without ridge?

Brooke: No, I’m not nervous.

Hope: ‘Cause it’s just I– I have noticed you have been coming into the office a lot lately.

Brooke: Well, yeah. I mean, there’s a lot of work to do around here, especially since ridge is gone. And if sheila is on the loose, we’re gonna have to step in a lot more and help steffy out.

Hope: And we will. It’s just… I want you to be open about your feelings, mom. I mean, be honest. How do you really feel about ridge? I mean, what are you going to do when he gets back?

Baker: The forensics team is examining the evidence again. They’re looking into your theory.

Steffy: It’s more than a theory. Sheila carter is alive. She was here.

Baker: The woman that you ran into outside of the restroom.

Steffy: Yes, yes. I didn’t recognize her at first. She was like in some kind of disguise. I looked up at her and her hair and her face, it was… it was different, but there was something so… familiar about her and that’s when we locked eyes and my– my blood went cold. And that when I said– I said, “sheila.” Sheila. Oh, my god. Sheila. I was stunned. I looked away for a second and she was gone. I was so shocked, I just– I just stood there.

Baker: You didn’t follow her?

Finn: No. We know what happened last time my wife followed sheila into an alley.

Steffy: It was sheila.

Baker: Okay, this definitely requires further investigation.

Steffy: Of course it does.

Finn: Deacon sharpe, he’s going through the restaurant security footage right now. Hopefully, she’ll be on camera.

Sheila: You have to erase it. No one else can see that footage.

Deacon: How the hell am i supposed to explain erasing it?

Sheila: You’re just gonna delete it. You’re gonna do it. Do it now, deacon.

[ Deacon panting ]

Deacon: Okay, okay, it’s done, all right? It’s done.

Sheila: Oh. I owe you so much. You gave me A… a place to stay and you never treated me like I was a monster. I am moving on. I’m– I’m never going to bother you again.

Deacon: Sheila– sheila, listen to me. You can’t run, all right? I mean, finn and steffy already called the cops. They’re certain it’s you. They know you’re in L.A.

Sheila: Well, thanks to you, they’re not gonna know who they’re looking for.

Deacon: Sheila, running is not the answer. If you do, you’re gonna wind up in prison and they’re just gonna add more years to your sentence. Just listen to me. You– you gotta turn yourself in. You gotta throw yourself in the mercy of the court. Maybe you’ll see daylight before you’re too old to enjoy it. Sheila, please. You know that this is the only way.

Baker: All right. Let’s check out the footage. If we get a decent image and forensics confirms that it’s her, then I can send it out to the airports and bus stations.

Steffy: Okay.

Finn: You need to warn them that she’s armed. I don’t want her to hurt anyone else. We need to catch her and put her away once and for all.

Hope: Well, it’s just, you haven’t said much about ridge since he left, so I was just wondering if you’d heard from him.

Brooke: Ridge is just taking much needed time to process everything that has happened. Make some decisions about what he wants for his life, his future.

Hope: It’s yours, too. I mean, aren’t you a part of that decision?

Brooke: Honey, I love him. I want to be with him, but I told ridge I can’t do this back and forth thing anymore. This tug of war. If he wants to be with me, he needs to be completely committed to me. Nobody else.

Hope: Well, I am, uh, glad to hear you say that because that is what you deserve.

Brooke: Yeah, well. Took me a long time to figure that out.

Hope: Well look, mom. I don’t want to bring up anything that’s painful and you know, I’m really sorry that this is what your relationship with ridge has become. You know him not being able to make up his mind once again, but I’m just saying, there is a man who is here who I know would give anything to be with you, who loves you unconditionally and who just happens to be my dad.

[ Brooke laughing ]

Brooke: Honey.

[ Deacon sighing ]

Steffy: Deacon, what did you find?

Deacon: So, chief baker, you think sheila is alive too?

Baker: Oh, just checking a theory. Due diligence. You were looking over the security?

Deacon: Yeah, what there is of it.

Baker: Did you happen to see the woman that steffy bumped in to?

Deacon: I’ve been through this three times. I didn’t see anything.

Steffy: Nothing? Nothing.

Deacon: Look, sometimes, the wi-fi, it… it, you know, it goes out. I mean, there’s gaps and stuff. I think that’s what happened here. I didn’t see that woman or sheila or whoever it was.

Steffy: What? I– I saw her. I saw her. I don’t care if she was on the video or not, sheila carter was there. Chief baker, you have to do something. She can’t escape this time. My family was nearly destroyed because of her. She tried to kill me. She held my husband hostage, my family, my children were traumatized and heartbroken. She needs to pay for her crimes.

[ Knocking on door ]

Deacon: Please don’t let it be sheila, please don’t let it be sheila. Hey, paul. Come on in.

Paul: Hey, man. You all right? Why’d you take off? Are you– are you packing?

Paul: You run il giardino?

Deacon: It could be a hell of an opportunity.

Paul: Well, then why are you leaving?

Deacon: Well, I gotta get some funding together. Uh, I gotta go overseas, italy. My– my P.O., He actually signed off on it. Look, if– if I could just get some backers together, I think I could actually make my dream of turning il giardino into deacon’s place a reality.

Paul: Deacon’s place, huh?

Deacon: That’s got a nice ring to it, doesn’t it?

Paul: Yeah, but–

Deacon: No, no, hey. Don’t worry. I’m gonna keep everybody on.

Paul: Okay.

Deacon: But uh, if this is gonna happen, I can’t wait.

Paul: Wait, so you’re gonna leave like right now, today?

Deacon: Yeah. I think getting out of here asap is the smartest thing I can do.

Hope: Look, I’m not trying to force dad on you the way steffy and thomas were trying to put their parents back together.

Brooke: Good. Because that doesn’t end well for anybody.

[ Hope laughing ]

Hope: But mom, I just– I trust you to do what’s right for you. You know, you follow your heart and I respect that. I’m just saying, ridge isn’t the only man out there. And dad, I know, loves you a lot. More than he probably says.

Brooke: Deacon’s never been one to hide his feelings.

Hope: Look, I’m not saying you need a man in your life, I just– I just want you to be happy and I love you. Okay?

Brooke: Thank you, honey. I love you too.

Steffy: I called amelia. We’re gonna add some more security to the house.

Brooke: What’s going on?

Steffy: Um… sheila. She’s here. In L.A.

Brooke: What?

Finn: Steffy ran into her at il giardino.

Steffy: Literally. I spilled my drink on her. To attack you?

Steffy: No, no. When i realized who she was, she ran off. She was like in this disguise. And if she wasn’t wearing open-toed sandals, I wouldn’t have looked at her twice.

Hope: But because her missing toe–

Steffy: Yes. That’s what gave it away.

Finn: I just wish I would’ve followed my instincts sooner.

Steffy: Hey, you got chief baker to believe me. You convinced him that sheila’s death was a lie. You vowed to protect us and you did.

Finn: Well, they have to find her soon because every moment she’s out there, my family’s in danger. We need to protect each other, all right? And our children. Because this threat is still very much alive.

Sheila: I’m not going back to prison. I’m never going back there again. I won’t be hiding that long. I’ll be a free woman again. That day is coming. Soon.

Steffy: No, let me just see. I just wanna check. I feel terrible. I’m so, so–

[ Steffy gasps ]

Steffy: Sheila!

Finn: Deacon. Hey.

Deacon: Hey, finn.

Finn: How are you?

Deacon: Uh, honestly, you know, I’ve been better. I’m just– I’m having trouble concentrating, you know. I– I keep thinking about your theory about sheila. It just keeps popping into my head. You– you really think she’s still alive? You really think she’s out there somewhere?

Finn: Yeah, I do. The question is, where? Are you sure you haven’t seen her? You have no idea where sheila is?

Hope: Hmm. What’s that for?

Liam: Hm. I don’t know. I just thought a hug might help.

Hope: With?

Liam: Improving the general mood. I mean, we got a pretty big bomb just dropped on us just now. Figured some tlc might be in order.

Hope: Hm. Well, then I hope you cleared your schedule for today because I’m going to need about, oh, a million more hugs in order to put sheila out of my mind.

Liam: This is absolutely insane.

Hope: Yeah.

Liam: That sheila might actually be alive.

Hope: Mm-hmm. And that she has just been out there somewhere this entire time. That she faked her own death. That she cut off– I don’t even wanna think about it. I don’t want this weighing on all of us again.

Liam: Sh. We’re just gonna do that, yeah.

Hope: I just feel like– you’re right. That does help.

Hope: It’s just hard to wrap my head around that.

Liam: Yeah. Because it’s literally unthinkable. It’s too much. It’s too much to process. I mean, we’re supposed to be done with sheila by now, right? We’re– we’re supposed to never have to think about her again.

Hope: Well, maybe we– we won’T. I mean, at this point, it’s just a theory, right? I mean, finn and steffy, they don’t have actual proof.

Liam: Yeah. Well, I mean, it’s close enough, right? Finn said he examined the toe. It wasn’t bitten off. Anyway, he said he told the police, so I’m sure they’ll investigate.

Hope: Would sheila really go that far to cut off her own toe?

Liam: I mean, it’s sheila, so, yes. Listen, I– I just think finn wouldn’t be sounding the alarms if he weren’t certain that sheila is still alive. And you heard him. He’s certain.

Deacon: There you go. Look, I promise you, if sheila is alive, I don’t have a clue where she is. I mean, according to the police, she’s dead. She was mauled by a bear.

Finn: She was mauled by a bear. I know. But that was a mauling that she faked.

Deacon: I just find it kinda tough to imagine her cutting off her own body parts.

Finn: But is that any more tough to imagine than a bear attack? An attack that somehow left just one measly toe? No, deacon. I looked at it very closely. That toe didn’t come off because of teeth or claws. It was severed sharply with a knife, by sheila herself. Now, I just gotta figure out what she’s been doing since and where she’s been hiding out and where is sheila?

Steffy: Your toe. Sheila. Oh my god. Sheila? Wait, no.

Sheila: No!

[ Steffy panting ]

[ Gun firing ]

[ Steffy gasping ] You are not calling the police.

Deacon: Hey, finn. Look, sheila could anywhere. She could be halfway across the country. Hell, she could be halfway across the world. Okay, look. If she is still alive, my guess? We’re not gonna see her or hear from her ever again, especially ’cause she’s probably dead.

Finn: She’s not. At least not from a bear attack. Look, uh– steffy has been gone a minute. I’m gonna go check on her.

Deacon: Yeah. Yeah, sure. Uh, enjoy the rest of your meal.

[ Steffy panting ]

Steffy: Oh, my god.

Finn: Baby. Whoa, whoa. Hey, what’s going on? You okay? Hey, hey, hey, hey. You all right?

Hope: It’s scary, isn’t it? I mean, we thought we were safe.

Steffy: Yeah. Just there in the bathroom. I– I was walking towards the restroom and I had my drink and I accidentally spilled it on a woman. And then I– I went to get a hand cloth and wipe her off and I looked down and– and that’s when I saw it.

Deacon: You– you saw what?

Steffy: She– she was wearing sandals and she was– she was missing a toe.

Finn: A middle toe, the same as sheila?

Steffy: Yes. When she– when she cut off her– her toe which– which foot– which foot? Was it right or?

Finn: The right. Her right toe. Her right middle toe. Was that the one?

Steffy: Yes. Oh, my god, yes. Yes.

Deacon: Okay, listen. You– you would’ve recognized her if it was sheila, right?

Steffy: I– I– I was shocked. I don’t know. She was like in some kinda disguise or something.

Deacon: Did she say anything?

Steffy: No. I– I– I said something. I said, sheila, and then she– she took off.

Deacon: Took off.

Steffy: She was gone. She went out the back.

Finn: Okay. Well, it was obviously her. Otherwise, why would you run?

Steffy: Exactly.

Deacon: I can’t believe this is happening.

Finn: Well, I know this seems impossible, but based off what steffy’s saying, this is–

Steffy: Sheila’s alive. Sheila is in los angeles. I just ran into sheila carter. And now please welcome ana montoya.

Liam: Well, it’s good steffy already called about the extra security.

Finn: Baker still doesn’t sound convinced, there’s a lot to this yet. But he already asked forensics to reopen the investigation after I told him about the toe. So hopefully, after this run in he’ll–

Deacon: So are they– are they coming here?

Finn: Probably. I’m sure he is gonna wanna question the staff and see if anyone has any info on her.

Deacon: I just can’t believe she’d be foolish enough to come back here. A place that she used to work. Where there– there would be so many people that could recognize her?

Steffy: I’m telling you, she didn’t look like herself. It’s a pretty good disguise.

Finn: Well, clearly. She felt confident enough to be out and about in public.

Steffy: Do you think she’s been following us? That’s why she’s here.

Finn: She could be. Or she was here to make contact with an old friend. Maybe she was here to see you.

Deacon: Yeah, I don’t think so. I– look– look, I know you guys think you’re onto something here, but I just can’t wrap my head around the fact that she’d be as dumb as that to come back here.

Steffy: It looked enough like her and she was missing a toe. It can’t be a coincidence.

Deacon: Yeah. You’re probably right.

Finn: Well, one way to know for sure.

Finn: Security footage. You have cameras in here, right?

Steffy: Yeah. Can you get the security footage?

Deacon: Yeah. I’m– okay. I’m gonna go to the server room and get the laptop and then I’m gonna go review it upstairs, okay?

Finn: Hopefully the camera’s caught something.

Steffy: We need to find her. We need to put her back in prison where she belongs.

Sheila: I didn’t run into her. She ran into me and spilled her drink all over me. I thought I had the situation handled beautifully. She didn’t even recognize me. Then she started wiping me up like a toddler.

Deacon: This is unbelievable. You just left me. We just said our goodbyes. You weren’t supposed to be causing me any more trouble. And then you go waltzing through the restaurant causing all kinds of problems.

Sheila: Not for you. Okay? You don’t– you don’t have to worry.

Deacon: Cops are on their way! What are you talking about? When should I worry?

Sheila: No because they’re– they’re never gonna know that I wasn’t even here. Okay. And neither will you. I– I’m not gonna bother you anymore. I just– if they– if they question you, just say–

Deacon: They already have.

Sheila: Well then deny, deacon. You just deny.

Deacon: What are you gonna do if you get caught? Are you gonna stay quiet?

Sheila: No one is gonna catch me.

Finn: No, but you knew. You knew what she was capable of and I should have trusted you. All of this suffering could have been avoided. Out in that alley, both of us almost dying. Weeks that she held me captive and the weeks that you thought I was dead. It just all could have been–

Steffy: You escaped. You– you escaped and you found me.

Finn: Steffy!

Finn: You’re amazing. We’re gonna find her. We’re gonna track her down and we’re gonna make her pay for everything.

Eric: All right. So steffy wants us all in here as soon as possible. Right away. Has she given any reason?

Liam: Well, it goes to show thomas’ scheme almost worked.

Eric: I still can’t believe that he did this. That he– that he used douglas’s app on his phone to make his voice sound like yours. So it sounded like you were turning him in to– to child protective services. Who does that? So disappointed in him.

Steffy: Hi.

Finn: Hey everyone. Thank you for meeting so quickly.

Steffy: I know you’re wondering why we wanted to see you. Finn and I have some shocking news. Sheila carter is alive.

[ Door opens ]

Deacon: Where the hell have you been?

Sheila: Talking like you missed me.

Deacon: Sheila, you can’t be running around la like this.

Sheila: Hello. I am in disguise in case you didn’t notice. You are giving me a serious case of whiplash, deacon. I– you want me gone and then the next minute you’re upset because I didn’t stay put. You can’t have it both ways. Although given your reaction action, I’d have to say you do want me up close and personal.

Deacon: Stop fooling around. I thought you got caught.

Sheila: [ Chuckles ] Caught? Who’d be looking? Everyone thinks I’m dead.

Deacon: Not anymore.

Sheila: What do you mean?

Deacon: I mean, steffy and finn figured it out. They know you’re alive.

Sheila: No. No. No, no. No!

Brooke: What are you saying?

Liam: Wait, you– are you serious?

Eric: That’s not possible.

Hope: Sheila was mauled by a bear.

Carter: There’s no way she could have survived that.

Finn: That’s what we thought too.

Steffy: What we were supposed to think.

Finn: Steffy and I believed that we have proof that sheila is most definitely alive.

Sheila: Okay. So what’s this game you’re playing?

Deacon: I’m not playing any game. I’m just telling you what happened last night.

Sheila: Finn and steffy figured out that I’m alive.

Deacon: Yep.

Sheila: You’re exaggerating. You– are just messing with me so I leave peacefully?

Deacon: Sheila, they were here last night.

Sheila: Finn and steffy were here.

Deacon: Yes. And imagine my surprise. But I was a lot more surprised to learn that they know you’re still alive.

Sheila: But how? I mean, there’s no possible way they–

Deacon: Your toe. Your crazy smart gifted son, the doctor, he took a look at it, put it under a microscope, and figured out it was cut off. Not that it was chewed, not that it was gnawed off by some wild animal.

Sheila: No, no. No. You’re saying this just to freak me out.

Deacon: Are you kidding? I’m the one who’s been freaking out. Don’t you get it? This is the end of the line. You gotta get the hell out of la and never come back.

Carter: I’m not saying I’m doubting you, but it’s hard to believe she pulled this off.

Steffy: What she did is diabolical.

Carter: Aside from the toe, is there any other evidence?

Finn: There’s bloody clothing that appeared to be torn, not clawed. And she could have used the severed toe to cover it with blood.

Brooke: With anybody else involved, this scenario would seem unbelievable. But now knowing that sheila’s at the center, this– this is all making horrible sense.

Eric: Did you talk to the police about this?

Finn: Right before we got here. The forensics team is reinvestigating.

Carter: Okay. According to you, the toe tells the tale. It’s cut off this case closed. But if that’s the case, then why were the cops so quick to accept sheila’s death?

Finn: All the pieces seem to add up. I mean– I mean, full disclosure, we’re not saying with a hundred percent absolute certainty that sheila is alive.

Steffy: But it is what we believe.

Eric: Well, if it’s true, if sheila is out there, we all have to be very careful.

Steffy: Yes. We already have a security team ready to go.

Hope: I wonder where she could be hiding out.

Steffy: We asked your father the exact same question.

Sheila: Are you sure you just didn’t misunderstand finn and steffy?

Deacon: Seriously? Seriously? What, you think I don’t speak english? No. There was no room for misinterpretation here. They think, they know that you faked your own death. Look, the circumstances have changed sheila dramatically exactly the way I said they would.

Sheila: You should just calm down. Okay? They have a theory, but they can’t prove anything.

Deacon: They’ve seen the evidence. Your son, the doctor, he looked at the toe under a microscope.

Sheila: Still, it’s only his opinion.

Deacon: Sheila, the cops are gonna see this. They’re gonna reopen the investigation and then they’re gonna be convinced too. All right? You– you hear that sound? You know what that is? That’s the walls closing in, babe.

Sheila: Stop panicking.

Deacon: Really? Stop panicking. When the hell should– should I panic, when the cops are dragging our ass back to prison? Would that be a good time?

Sheila: We’re– we’re not– we’re not–

Deacon: You keep talking about second chances and– and– and ways out. Don’t you get it? There isn’t one. The cops are going to find you and it cannot be here. You need to leave today.

Liam: Like what?

Steffy: If he’d seen or heard from sheila.

Finn: And if he had any idea where she might be hiding out.

Eric: And?

Steffy: He was as shocked as us.

Carter: Aren’t we all.

Finn: The bottom line is deacon says he hasn’t heard from sheila and has no idea where she might be.

Brooke: [ Exhales ] God, the thought of sheila being alive.

Finn: Look we– we don’t have any definite proof yet.

Liam: But– but you believe this, right?

Finn: With every instinct I have.

Steffy: Same. We know she’s out there. But we’re gonna find her and put her behind bars where she belongs.

Sheila: So finn and steffy put it all together. Wow. You know, if– if it didn’t threaten my existence, I would be so proud my son is brilliant.

Deacon: You’re certifiable. You know that? You’re– you’re really gonna go there? Okay, great. You know, whatever. Be proud of your son. Just hit the bricks doing it. All right? Go do it somewhere else.

Sheila: Okay. I know. I know I– I can’t– I can’t stay here any longer.

Deacon: Oh my god. Oh my god. She’s got it. She’s seen the light. Perfect. I’ll get your bag for you. Okay? Look, I’m sorry, I don’t mean to throw you out, but it’s just gotten too damn risky. They can come back anytime.

Sheila: I know. I– I get it. I am gonna figure a way out of this.

Deacon: Look, sheila, I don’t wanna be debbie downer here, but finn and steffy, they are like two dogs with a bone. They aren’t gonna be happy until you’re behind bars.

Sheila: That’s never gonna happen. I’m not going down and neither are you. I appreciate you. You gave me a place to stay. Human contact. And we even had some laughs together, didn’t we? I am not gonna betray that. No one is ever gonna know where I’ve been staying all this time.

Deacon: Biggest mistake I ever made letting you stay here.

[ Laughs ]

Sheila: Oh come on. It wasn’t all bad, was it, daddy?

Finn: I’m surprised you wanted to come here after what happened in the alley.

Steffy: I like the food. And I’m not gonna give up a single thing that gives me pleasure just because of sheila carter.

Finn: It’s a good answer.

Steffy: But we do have to keep our guard up. Sheila poses a great threat and we have to protect ourselves and our children. But this, the joy that we have, I’m not gonna let sheila take it away from us. I mean, it was quite the bombshell we dropped at forrester, right?

Finn: Yeah. No one was expecting us to say sheila was still alive.

Steffy: I know. I’m just glad mom and dad are out of town. Especially mom. Sheila thought her and my mom were best friends. How are you doing? You haven’t said much about knowing that your– your birth mother is still alive. How is it affecting you?

Finn: Well, you know how I feel about sheila. She shot me, steffy. And I possibly may have been able to get over that, but she shot you, the woman that I love more than anything in this world.

Brooke: If sheila’s still alive, where has she been this whole time?

Hope: Maybe some out of the way motel.

Liam: It’d kinda have to be that. Right? ‘Cause, I– I can’t imagine anybody wanting to harbor sheila carter. At this point, everybody knows how dangerous she is.

Carter: Maybe some old prison pal.

Eric: Could be any of the above. She’s very resourceful.

Brooke: And desperate. I mean, you’d have to be to do something as stomach-churning as cutting off your own toe.

Steffy: I’m so impressed with you the way you figured out sheila faked her own death.

Finn: It was nothing really. I just was falling a hunch.

Steffy: It’s crazy to think that she’s still out here doing what? Planning what?

Finn: Hey, the cops are on it now. Okay. They’re gonna ramp up a search. They’re gonna get her.

Steffy: When I think about everything she put us through, the shooting, holding you captive. And I thought I lost you forever.

Finn: You feel that? It’s me. I’m right here. It all worked out.

Steffy: Thank god. I mean, when I heard your voice in monaco and I saw you near that church.

Finn: Steffy!

Steffy: I knew I got my miracle.

[ Church bell ringing ]

Finn: I missed you so much.

Steffy: You’re alive. You’re alive.

Finn: Nothing was gonna stop me from getting back to you. When sheila was holding me hostage, I knew that I had one job and that was to get my strength back so I could get home to you, to our family. Nothing in this world can even come close to how much I love you. Okay? And I hope those are happy tears.

Steffy: [ Chuckles ] They definitely are. Ugh, mascara on me. I love you. I’m gonna go check my mom, give her a call. Okay? I’ll be right back.

Liam: Yeah.

Steffy: But I love you. That was really sweet.

Steffy: Yeah, mom. I’m– I’m glad that you got some time away and you know, you’re figuring things out. Just gotta go through it and know that, like, I completely understand where you’re coming from and know that– oh my– oh my gosh. Oh my goodness. I am– I’m so– I am so sorry. I– wow. Deacon: So, you guys really think sheila faked her own death?

Steffy: Sounds crazy, I know.

Finn: But nothing’s adding up.

Deacon: What’s not adding up? I- chief baker closed the case, her official death certificate said mauled by a bear.

Finn: Think about it. It’s way too convenient.

Steffy: Sheila’s wanted for double attempted murder and then she just winds up dead? And the only thing they find is her toe.

Deacon: Hope told me that they found a bunch of other stuff up there, too, though.

Finn: Yeah, but not enough. And there should have been more blood. There– there’s a lot that doesn’t make any sense.

Deacon: So you guys are serious. You– you really think she’s still alive?

Steffy: We’re certain of it.

Katie: Well. Hello there.

[ Laughs ]

Carter: Sorry.

Katie: No, no, don’t– don’t apologize. This might be the best thing that’s happened to me all day.

Carter: Happy to oblige. Although, I don’t know what that says about your day. Must have been pretty uneventful.

Katie: Not anymore.

Liam: Oh, good. I heard you were working from here. Listen, we gotta talk about this buyout. I’m starting to question whether it’s a good idea. So, is wyatt, obviously, you know, you have the final say, but we kind of need a decision today. And you’ve been a little M.I.A. Oh, no, dad. Not the necklace. What’s going on with you?

Liam: Dad, why are you wearing the sword necklace?

Bill: Katie put you up to this?

Liam: Katie? No.

Bill: Well, she was here earlier. Asked the same question.

Liam: Yeah, I imagine she did. It’s not exactly a good omen.

Bill: It’s just a piece of jewelry.

Liam: No, it’s not– it’s not a piece of jewelry. It’s a metaphor for your self-destructiveness.

Bill: Dramatic, don’t you think?

Liam: I’m not being– when you wear that thing on your neck, it means you’re in scorched earth mode. So what gives? What’s going on with you? ‘Cause I thought you were done with it forever.

Bill: Forever’s a long time. And I don’t have to explain myself to you.

Liam: Okay. I– all right. Fine. So katie was here. Why? What happened?

Katie: You’re actually just the man I was looking for. Justin says these contracts are urgent, so I volunteered to be the messenger. Glad I did. I got more than what I bargained for. Not complaining.

Carter: I left my bag here, and I thought I had the place to myself, but I am glad you’re still here.

Katie: Me too.

Carter: I spoke to brooke earlier and she said you overheard me singing your praises to bill.

[ Sighs ]

Deacon: There was a full investigation, right? The dna matched the blood at the scene.

Steffy: No one’s disputing that.

Deacon: Okay. So what has you convinced that she’s still alive? Oh, come on. No. Is that her toe? Oh, god. I need a beer. You want one?

Steffy: No, thank you.

Deacon: How the hell’d you get that, anyway?

Finn: Detective sanchez gave it to me.

Deacon: What, as a souvenir?

Steffy: Finn was suspicious. Now, so am I.

Deacon: So you’re just walking around with this toe, knocking on doors?

Steffy: Only your door, deacon. We’re here to see if you could help us find sheila carter. You didn’t live this strong, this long to get put

Liam: I take it your visit with katie didn’t go the way you hoped. Listen, I’m sure you don’t want to talk about it, but I’m here.

Bill: Yeah, there’s not much to talk about. It’s as simple as this. I poured out my soul to katie, and she wants nothing to do with me.

Liam: That must have been really hard. I’m sorry.

Bill: Katie’s moving on. With carter walton.

Katie: I deserve better. That’s what you said to bill.

Carter: I’m not wrong.

Katie: No, you’re not. It’s taken me a while to… really accept that I deserve more than what bill is capable of giving me. It’s hard, you know, with the child and we have so much history.

Carter: It’s natural to want to make it work for your son, for your family.

Katie: Until it becomes abundantly clear that it is not going to work and it never will.

Carter: Wow. Sounds like you’ve come to terms with it. That’s a big step.

Katie: You’re making my happiness your business?

Carter: You heard that too, huh?

Katie: I did.

Carter: Is that okay?

Katie: Yeah, it’s more than okay. It felt really powerful and reassuring. Especially in that moment. Bill had literally just finished pleading with brooke to give him another chance and you– you saw what he was doing and you stood up for me.

Carter: Defending a fascinating, talented, beautiful woman like you. It’s easy.

Deacon: Isn’t that enough proof? I mean, you got a gross decomposing toe. I mean, it’s a pretty good indication she’s no longer with us.

Finn: It certainly appeared sheila was mauled by a bear.

Steffy: You know, she was up in the sierra mountains based on some security footage.

Deacon: Right. Right. They– they found her car up there, didn’t they?

Steffy: Yeah. They found a cell phone, id.

Finn: Some of sheila’s hair, some blood spattered clothing.

Deacon: Yeah, I heard the crime scene photos were pretty gnarly.

Finn: Not as bad as I would have expected. A vicious animal attack like that? There should have been more remains left behind.

Deacon: Jeez, that bear must have been famished, getting ready for winter hibernation. I’m sorry that I– I didn’t mean any disrespect by that, I know that was your mother.

Finn: My birth mother.

Deacon: Right. I just, you know, still, what she did to you two…

Steffy: It’s difficult because we didn’t get justice for her crimes.

Finn: And that’s what we think sheila’s motive is.

Steffy: It’s either die or go to prison.

Finn: That’s why we have this little investigation of our own.

Deacon: You guys think the cops will reopen this thing?

Finn: Depends.

Deacon: On?

Steffy: If we can prove sheila’s not really dead.

Deacon: What? Why do you think she’s still kicking it? I mean, what prompted this?

Steffy: Deacon, you know sheila. Who else would cut off their toe and fake their own death?

Bill: You know what? I am so tired of this. Everybody just betraying me. You’re challenging me. Katie is moving on with carter walton. Brooke welcomes forrester back for more– more pain and suffering and disappointment.

Liam: For the record, they’re not back together.

Bill: You know what? I don’t give a damn. I’m tired of it, liam. Been stabbed in the back. Even justin, my best friend, my right hand man, my brother. My brother stabbed me in the back. And now what? Working at forrester.

Liam: Hey, dad. You have a right to disappointment. And I know you probably don’t want to hear this, but it is actually okay to feel sorry for yourself once in a while.

Bill: No, liam, I don’t want to hear it. And I’m not feeling sorry for myself. I’m giving you factual information, but you keep it up and you’re going to be feeling sorry for yourself.

Liam: All right. Okay, fine, fine. Then as your son. Stop it. Stop it. ‘Cause all this? This is ego. It’s your ego talking. And when your ego’s in charge, you get into trouble.

Katie: I believe you when you say wonderful things to me. With bill, I was– I was never always completely sure. I, uh, saw him earlier, he made– he made another impassioned plea for us to reconcile.

Carter: What’d you say?

Katie: I told him the truth. That I’m moving on. It’s hard.

Carter: Which part?

Katie: The part where I married a man, and I had a child with him, and I gave my heart to him, and he says that my sister is the true love of his life.

[ Sighs ] Gosh. Do you think there’s a man in los angeles who doesn’t want brooke? Who isn’t in love with brooke? Brooke, brooke, brooke, brooke, brooke. I mean, I love my sister, but do you think that there’s just one man, just one man who doesn’t want her, who isn’t in love with her and who might want someone like me?

Carter: [ Clears throat ]

Katie: [ Laughs ]

Deacon: So you really think she cut off her own toe?

Finn: I know that sounds crazy. And–

Deacon: Well, you know when I hear crazy, I mean, who else are you going to think of but sheila? You just seem very convinced.

Liam: You know, it was just something that was bugging me. This feeling that I had. Something wasn’t right. So I got detective sanchez to bring me up some evidence so I can take a closer look at it.

Steffy: We put her toe under a microscope.

Finn: There is no sign that a wild animal clawed or chewed this off. There’s no sign of traumatic amputation. This was cut cleanly. Evenly sliced with a sharp knife to make it look like it was torn off.

Steffy: By none other than nurse sheila carter. Unless she had help from someone else. ()

Liam: All right. One more reality check. Katie is not leaving your family. She’s a loving, devoted mother and you’re a damn good father. But you have to accept the fact that you two have not been an item in a long time.

Bill: Not officially, maybe. But it’s always been right there under the surface. Just a matter of when, not if. Everybody knew that we would end up together.

Liam: You really think that?

Bill: Katie or brooke. I was meant to be with one or the other.

Liam: Yeah. Yeah, but you can’t have both.

>Bill: You know me pretty well, liam. And you know that I don’t like when somebody tells me what I can and cannot have in my business affairs or affairs of the heart. Have I made mistakes? Sure. We all have. But I have loved them, I have cared for them, I have protected them, and this is what I get in return? Nobody betrays my trust and nobody dismisses me. I am dollar bill spencer.

Liam: Hey, hey, hey. You’re fired up. I see it. I get it. But promise me you’re not going to do something drastic.

[ Exhales ]

[ Clearing throat ]

Carter: Sorry, I have something in my throat. Let’s run that back. So you’re looking for a guy who’s not in love with your sister?

Katie: Yeah! Just one small little thing. Is that too much to ask?

Carter: No, not at all. And I want to go on record to say that although I respect brooke, I admire her, I appreciate her, I enjoy working with her, but that’s it, that’s as far as it goes.

Katie: Are you sure? Are you sure you’ve never been interested in brooke?

Carter: No.

Katie: Positive?

Carter: No, not once. The only logan I have my eye on is the one I’m staring at. You’re amazing, katie. I mean, you’re vibrant, you’re genuine, you’re smart. I mean, you’re funny. And you’re beautiful. Very beautiful.

Deacon: Come on, there’s no way that–

Finn: I can tell you’re freaking out, deacon.

Deacon: No– me? I–

Steffy: I mean, we’re freaking out, too. We thought sheila was dead.

Finn: We had convinced ourselves that we were free of sheila and all of her threats. I mean, but now we’re sure she’s alive.

Deacon: Have you taken this theory to detective sanchez? And have you mentioned this to the cops?

Steffy: No, we came here first.

Deacon: Wh– here? Why?

Steffy: Because you and sheila have a history.

Deacon: Oh. Come on, no.

Finn: As soon as sheila came back to town, hope and I saw you with her at el giardino. You guys were clearly an item.

Deacon: Okay, that was ages ago, and I would hardly call us an item. Look, she’s got a very strong personality and can be a little difficult to say no to.

Steffy: We just thought sheila might have some help pulling this all off.

Finn: And what we do know is she has very few friends in L.A. And she would probably be reaching out to someone at some point.

Steffy: Yeah, she has no one to turn to… except you. So if you know anything, where she’s been, where she’s going, it’d be great if you can tell us.

Finn: Having information not coming forward, that would create a hell of a lot of problems.

Steffy: I’m not trying to accuse you of anything, but if you could just shed a light on her whereabouts, if you know anything.

Deacon: Look, if sheila’s still alive, I have no idea where she is.

Finn: Okay. Let us know if she reaches out. Sheila’s a dangerous woman. None of us are safe with her on the loose.

Deacon: I know.

Steffy: Thanks.

Finn: There’s just no way a bear could have done this. It was sliced right off and then these cuts were made to look like a tear. But they’re too clean. They’re– they’re too precise.

Steffy: Only a demented woman like sheila carter will go to such unthinkable lengths.

Finn: Well, she had to make sure the police would stop looking for her. And she did. That’s why detective sanchez brought me all this. Case closed.

Steffy: Except based on what you found out, sheila is not dead at all.

Deacon: Where the hell did you go, sheila? What are you up to now?

Carter: Hey, brooke.

Brooke: Hi.

Carter: Hi. Oh, wow. That’s a great shot of you and ridge.

Brooke: Yeah. It was a beautiful day.

Carter: Listen, about the wedding that didn’t happen, I haven’t spoken to ridge, but when I see him, I–

Brooke: I don’t think you’ll see him any time soon.

Carter: Oh?

Brooke: He left to take some much needed time.

Carter: Of course. For what it’s worth, while I have great respect for taylor, I’m hoping those annulment papers that I had to deliver to you will have been a waste of time.

Bill: What are you doing here?

Katie: Oh, I’m just grabbing some stuff for will.

Bill: He’s home?

Katie: No, I’m sending him a care package, and he’s been wanting these things, so. Are you okay? You don’t seem like yourself. Bill, no.

Carter: So where do things stand with you and ridge?

Brooke: Nothing’s been decided yet. He’s gone away to make some decisions about his life. I told him I needed somebody who was completely committed to me. And I just couldn’t do that back and forth thing with taylor anymore. So, you know, we’ll see how things are when he gets back. But in the meantime, I know that there’s somebody else reevaluating their life. My sister. Donna and I have been talking with katie, and we just get the feeling that your friendship with her has evolved into more than just a friendship. Am I right?

Bill: It’s just whiskey, katie, relax.

Katie: I’m not talking about the drink. You’re wearing your sword necklace again. Why?

Bill: Why? I feel like I need the extra protection.

Katie: Protection from what?

Bill: Do you really care?

Katie: Yes, of course I care.

Bill: Just not enough to take me back.

Katie: Bill.

Bill: Yeah, forget it. I’m just not in a– in a good place, not making the best life decisions.

Katie: Dark place? I’m assuming this has to do with brooke?

Finn: So, we need to go through that evidence very carefully with our theory in mind that sheila wasn’t mauled by a bear.

Steffy: Showing us it was a calculated move on sheila’s part, and that’s how she ended the manhunt.

Finn: Believe me, I would love to be wrong about this. All right, the thought of having to deal with my mother again and the threat that she still poses to our family if she’s alive and out there? I tried to tell myself that that was all behind us, but I– I just–

Steffy: Something was nagging at you. How sheila supposedly died.

Finn: Look, we don’t have any time to waste. For our safety. If what we think is true, sheila is as dangerous now as she ever was. Maybe even more. (Birds chirping)

Katie: Bill, what’s going on with you? You’re– you’re in this dark place, you– you’re wearing your sword necklace, which is a harbinger of things to come, usually bad things.

Bill: I told you, I feel like I need the extra protection from myself.

Katie: I know that this has to do with brooke and I also know what you said to her at her house the other day and it doesn’t matter how I heard. The point is–

Bill: The point is I have been making such bad decisions for so long. Wanting what I shouldn’t want when what I really needed was you. I don’t know how many ways to say it, katie. I don’t know how many times I need to apologize. I have been a colossal ass. My own worst enemy. But I really do need you, especially now. I– I hate feeling this way. I hate what my life has become.

Katie: Do you know what I hate? I hate that my ex-husband, the father of my child, and the man that I gave my whole heart to loves my sister.

Bill: You’re not hearing a word that I’m saying. So you want to give up on me? On our family? For carter walton?

Brooke: Carter, I have tremendous respect for you, but I can’t help but look out for my sister.

Carter: That’s what good sisters do.

Brooke: I know she’s a grown woman and she can take care of herself, but she’s been through a lot. And I’m not just talking about bill.

Carter: Her heart transplant.

Brooke: She never mentions it. She just goes about life like we all do.

Carter: I totally understand, you don’t even have to explain.

Brooke: There is something I do have to explain. The day of ridge and taylor’s wedding, you were at my house overhearing bill and me talking and then katie and bill talking.

Carter: How do you know that?

Brooke: Because katie told me.

Carter: What? How– how did she find out?

Brooke: Because she overheard you and bill talking. But more importantly, she heard you say all these wonderful things about her.

Carter: I meant every word.

Deacon: That’s definitely not mine. I’m not sure if you’re coming back, sheila. I hope you don’t, but you’re definitely not getting traced back here when you get busted.

Steffy: Okay, we know from the convenience store footage that sheila was in the sierra mountains.

Finn: And the abandoned car with the fingerprints that the park ranger found.

Steffy: It was all part of her twisted plan.

Finn: Well, she needed to drop out of sight permanently. Best way to do that is to make people think you’re dead.

Steffy: Okay, what do we have here? Sheila’s I.D., Busted phone from the alleged bear attack.

Finn: Check this out. Sheila’s hair. The roots are still attached, which would indicate that it was pulled out, not cut, which would be in line with an attack.

Steffy: Or she yanked it out herself.

Finn: The whole scene is circumstantial if you think about it. Everything here indicates a bear attack. When you look at every single item individually and know who you’re dealing with? I wish it wasn’t the case, but I feel even more confident now that our theory is correct. Sheila isn’t dead.

Steffy: No. She staged her own death. (Vo) no matter what type of severe asthma you have,…

Brooke: I don’t mean to make you feel self-conscious, I don’T. It’s just– I mean, I’m sure it’s very surprising for you to find out that katie overheard your conversation with bill and some of those things she passed on to donna and me.

Carter: No, I’m not– I’m not self-conscious. I know how close katie is to her sisters.

Brooke: Okay, well, the logans look out for each other. At least we try to.

Carter: Katie is a remarkable, intelligent, beautiful woman. She deserves a lot better than bill spencer.

Bill: Do you have any idea what it does to me every time you push me away? I have practically gotten on my knees and begged you for another chance. And when you reject–

Katie: I’m not rejecting you. I’m just trying to tell you that what you say you want can’t happen for reasons that you know.

Bill: I’ll tell you what I know. What I know is that everyone in my life has abandoned me. Even justin, a so-called best friend, turned his back on me. Don’t turn your back on me, katie. We can start over. I promise you, I promise you that I will make you the center of my world. You will never have any reason to feel anything but my commitment and my devotion. It will be you. You and only you. I swear that’s how it will be. Just give me one chance to prove it.

Deacon: She had so much crap here. Ugh. Okay, it’s called self preservation. Sheila, I mean, you know, that’s something you know all about, right? Just gotta cut all ties with her before anyone realizes she didn’t kick the damn bucket.

Steffy: My god, finn, when I think what this means.

Finn: Look, I wish I was wrong, but it all adds up. The question now is where is she? Is she in L.A? Did she go on the run, did she sneak across the border?

Steffy: If it weren’t for you and hayes, I think she’d be long gone. But we know how obsessed she is with her son and her grandson. I think she’s crazy enough to stay here in L.A.

Finn: Well, if she is, where would she be?

Steffy: I don’t know. But there’s someone, I think, who can give us answers. With metro…

Brooke: I’ve worked hard to try to keep katie and bill’s family together. But you know what? After some of the things that bill has said to me, I think it’s better that katie actually moves on with somebody that I admire and respect. Well, you did have your little slip up with quinn. But I know you’re a man of integrity.

Carter: I appreciate that. But to be honest, I don’t know where katie and I stand. We haven’t really even started yet.

Brooke: I have a good feeling about you two.

Carter: That’s kind, but I’m not naive. I know bill’s a man who doesn’t like to lose, and he’s trying to get in katie’s head, convince her to come back to him.

[ Brooke sighing ]

Bill: Whatever it takes for you to trust me again, tell me and I’ll do it. Whatever it takes for you to come back to me.

Katie: Bill, we will always be a family and I will always care about you. But anything more than that, it’s just– what you’re asking is not possible. I’m moving on.

Bill: With carter?

Katie: Oh. I– I don’t know. I– I don’t know. I– all I do know is that he is kind, and he’s sincere, and he’s honest, and when I– when I look in his eyes, I can see that he’s telling the truth.

Bill: Truth. The truth is that I have done everything I can to reach you. And yet you won’t let me back in. And that frustrates me. And more than that, it hurts me. But it also makes me angry. Angry at myself for losing you. Angry at the situation we find ourselves in, where you’re wanting to move on. But just know this. I will not give up. I will not lose you to carter walton or anyone else. I do not lose. I need you. I need you now, my katie. Like never before.

[ Knock on door ]

Deacon: Seriously? Come on. Just a second. Be right there. Steffy.

Steffy: Hi.

Deacon: Finn. Uh.

Finn: Hey.

Deacon: Hey. Hey, guys, I’m sorry, I’ve gotta be at work in a few minutes.

Steffy: No problem. It’ll only take a minute.

Deacon: Okay, uh, what’s this about?

Steffy: Well, first of all, we want to thank you. We owe you a huge debt of gratitude.

Finn: Yeah, if it weren’t for you that awful night in the alley–

Deacon: No, no–

Finn: If you hadn’t found us–

Deacon: Please, guys, look, I’m just happy you’re both fine.

Steffy: Yeah. We’re still trying to put everything that happened behind us.

Deacon: Yeah, I know what you mean. I– I’m trying to forget it myself.

Steffy: But we can’t forget. Not anymore.

Deacon: Not anymore. What do you– what do you mean?

Steffy: This is gonna sound crazy, but we discovered some really unsettling things and we believe… no, we know. We know sheila’s alive. She faked her own death. She wasn’t mauled by a bear. Sheila is alive. Sheila carter is alive.

Steffy: You asked detective sanchez to bring the evidence from sheila’s bear attack because you think she’s still alive?

Finn: But it never felt right. It’s too easy. Sheila commits these heinous crimes, escapes and goes off into the woods and gets mauled by a bear? Case closed? No, steffy. I think she faked her own death and this toe could prove it.

Sheila: So, let’s just face it, little piggy, as much as I miss you, I’d sacrifice anything to be close to my son. Anything.

[ Door closing ]

Hope: How can you show your face around here after what you did? You really are shameless, aren’t you?

Hope: Are you going to say anything?

Thomas: Are you willing to listen?

Hope: You’re lucky I am even speaking to you. I believed in you, thomas. Our son believed in you.

Thomas: Just let me explain.

Sheila: Hey. Some fresh air to clear your mind. Chase all those demons out of your head.

Deacon: That depends. What’s this look on your face here?

Sheila: It’s a smile.

Deacon: Yeah, for most people. But with you, it’s a big flashing warning sign. What’s going on?

Sheila: I’m counting my lucky stars. You know, check that, because I know you’d like this one better. I’m counting my lucky toes. All nine of them.

Steffy: Did you tell the police you think sheila’s still alive?

Finn: No, not till I can confirm it. I want to check my theory.

Steffy: Babe, what she did to us was horrible. And I know it feels as though we didn’t get any justice, but, the authorities already looked into this and the evidence points to a bear attack. I mean, they found her id, bloody hair, bloody clothes, the toe.

Finn: And that’s all. If she was attacked by a wild animal, don’t you think that they would have found a little bit more than a toe? Her middle toe? See to me, this looks too clean. I want to take another look at it. But this does not look to be the result of an animal attack.

Steffy: You really think sheila carter cut off her own toe?

Finn: You always told me she was capable of anything. She knew that we would never stop looking for. Faking her own death was the only way out. Christmas trees try so hard.

Hope: Why should I listen to anything you have to say? All you’ve done is lie.

Thomas: Hope, my family was finally coming together. Something I’ve always wanted, my parents were getting so close.

Hope: So if only there was some way to get rid of my mother and to turn ridge against her once and for all.

Thomas: How many times has he left her? How many years would this go on over and over again? All the while, my whole family and my mother suffering.

Hope: Your family is suffering now. Did you even take into account how difficult that must have been for steffy to stand up to you for your own son? And I know stepfy wanted your parents back together just as much as you did. She wasn’t going to trick ridge into marrying taylor.

Thomas: My dad wanted to marry my mother because he loves her. There was no trick. Okay, so that’s not fair.

Hope: Fair? Fair. I’ll tell you what’s not fair. You sabotaging my mother’s marriage. You using our son.

Thomas: I never wanted douglas involved in any of this. And, you know, with my dad and your mother not being together, it means that deacon actually–

Hope: Oh, stop. Would you stop trying to spin this?

Thomas: I was trying to do something good, hope, and I realized nothing good came from it. My family won’t speak to me, my sister, my father, my mother, my grandfather. Nobody. But I can handle all of that. If I could just get you to listen to me. You don’t have to forgive me. You don’t have to fully understand why I did it. But at least listen to me. Because we’ve gotten so close, hope, you and I. We’ve been working together, raising douglas. And I saw this future right in front of me, of a whole family. A mother and father together, yeah, but also me with my son in the home. And you were a part of that picture, too. And now it’s all falling apart. But what I don’t want to fall apart is our connection or my relationship with my son.

Deacon: Look, I– I care about you. I do. I gave you a place to hole up. But you got to face facts.

Sheila: You need to stop looking for catastrophes everywhere.

Deacon: That’s the only way this ends with lights and sirens and cops busting through that door.

Sheila: The landlord’s not going to like that one.

[ Sighs ]

Deacon: Look, there’s another alternative here. You can turn yourself in. Hear me out. Look, you didn’t kill anyone. It’s attempted murder. You wouldn’t be in prison–

Sheila: Absolutely not.

Deacon. You’re going to get caught. You’re going to take me down with you.

Sheila: Okay, so that’s what this is really about. You. You don’t care what happens to me, no. You’re just looking out for yourself.

Deacon: You’re damn right I am. I should have been from the beginning. You’re just lucky I– that I’m a sucker for a good sob story.

Sheila: Mm. Did I not show you? I love gratitude.

Deacon: Oh, damn it, sheila. Come on. You’re smarter than this. I know you are.

Sheila: I’m not giving up. I didn’t cut off my toe and go through that excruciating pain just so I could limp around the rest of my days in a prison cell.

Steffy: It doesn’t bother you?

Finn: No. I’ve seen worse in the E.R.

Steffy: No, I mean, it’s– it’s your birth mothers toe.

Finn: She shot me, steffy. She shot you, too. She held me hostage and let my family think I’m dead. If she’s out there, I need to know. But look, if– if this is too much for you, I can just…

Steffy: No, we do– we need to know. So what are you thinking? Is your hunch right? Finn.

Finn: I’m positive. There was no attack. She did this to herself.

Steffy: Sheila’s alive. I’m sholeh and I lost 75 pounds with golo.

Hope: You want me to understand what you did? How you could be so heartless?

Thomas: That’s what I’m trying to tell you. It wasn’t heartless, it wasn’t malicious. I was trying to protect my mother from all the pain she’s been through.

Hope: Do you ever wonder what this plan might do to our son? That call to cps might have been fake, but the visit wasn’T. Douglas was questioned. He could have been taken away.

Thomas: No. Douglas was perfectly safe, and they never would have found anything.

Hope: That is not the point, thomas. The call should have never been made in the first place. You should have never asked your son to lie again when he found out the truth. And he understands that. Why don’t you? Now he doesn’t even want to see you anymore.

Thomas: No, I don’t believe that.

Hope: Yeah, it’s true. And that is your doing. All he wanted was a relationship with you, thomas. He loves you, and you are the one destroying that.

Thomas: I did everything I could to keep douglas out of this. I never wanted him involved. And, you know, if donna hadn’t told him that he can–

Hope: Stop, stop, stop! Thomas, this is on you. You were the one who put him in the middle of this. Sometimes I don’t even understand how he could be related to you because he is nothing like you. He is brave, he is compassionate, and he is not afraid to tell the truth. Unlike you, whose first instinct is to always lie, no matter what the consequences, no matter who gets hurt. No matter what destruction.

[ Sighs ] I can’t believe I ever trusted you again.

Sheila: Finn and hayes, they gave me the courage to do what I did. Do you know, the excruciating agony that I went through. I cut my own toe off, deacon, to stay out of prison. I am not turning myself in.

Deacon: You don’t get it, do you? You are putting us both in jeopardy. Sheila, this is the end of the line. There’s no way out.

Sheila: There is–

Deacon: No, there is not a way out! There’s not. Not this time. Look, I’m sorry. If you don’t turn yourself in, I’m going to do it.

Sheila: You would not do that to me.

Deacon: This has to end. It’s time.

Finn: So you agree, the photo I sent you? Yeah, that’s what I see, too. Thank you, jim. Yeah. Sheila didn’t lose that toe from a bear attack.

Steffy: Are you sure?

Finn: Come see for yourself. An animal attack would cause more tissue damage. That kind of injury would result from ripping and tearing. Take a look at the base of the toe. See the straight cuts? There’s no teeth marks. There’s no other signs of trauma. She amputated the toe and she tried to make it look like a bear attack.

Steffy: Oh, my god. Oh, my god, you’re right. Sheila did this so she could get away.

Finn: Bloody clothing and a staged campsite weren’t enough. She needed to give the police and our family some tangible evidence, proof that she was dead. But this. This. This only proves how truly diabolical she is.

Steffy: Oh, finn. Smooth dark chocolate, refreshing peppermint,

Thomas: I didn’t– I didn’t manipulate you, hope. Our connection is real.

Hope: And if it is, you used it against me to make me believe that you had changed. I put my faith in you.

Thomas: You gave me a chance to prove myself. And I did.

Hope: And you threw it away. I mean… we were a team. At work, as parents. I defended you to my mother, to liam. But they were right about you all along.

Thomas: No, they wouldn’t give me the benefit of the doubt. And you did.

Hope: I wish I hadn’T.

Thomas: Please don’t give up on me.

Hope: How can you even ask that of me after everything you’ve done? You know, I can’t believe it fell for it. But, you were– you were real convincing. You were real sincere and earnest. You know, maybe I… could have stopped my mom’s heartbreak. Or my son’s disappointment. If I had just trusted myself. Like when you took douglas to stay at eric’s, right? He was happy. He was having a good time, so I went along with it. Because I cared about my son’s happiness. And so, I spent time there. And more and more, our lives became intertwined. And I let my guard down. I did. And then you try to kiss me.

Thomas: That kiss wasn’t calculated. You crossed a line.

Thomas: Look, I thought that we– we weren’t going to talk about that again.

Hope: Ah ha! That’s until I found out all the other horrible things you’ve been up to.

Thomas: Me trying to kiss you wasn’t a horrible thing. It just happened. And excitement in the moment and out of love. And like I’ve told you before. Unlike other men. I can only love one woman. And I love you.

Hope: And I… love… liam. Never you. Especially after this betrayal. You know, I thought I knew you. I thought we were friends. And yeah, sure… yeah. You’re a talented designer, but I can’t even fathom working with you now.

Thomas: Please, don’t say that, you don’t mean that.

Hope: I do. I used to see this man who was trying so hard to grow and to better himself and to be worthy of his son’s love. But now? All I see… is a sad, pathetic man who kept me from beth. Who didn’t care about his son’s safety. So he called cps on himself. And for what?

Thomas: Hope, wait, you did–

[Door slamming] You didn’t give me a chance to explain.

Sheila: You should know better than to threaten me.

Deacon: I’m not threatening you, I’m trying to reason with you. Where the hell do you think you’re going anyway? That stupid disguise isn’t going to save you. Your time is up.

Sheila: Never!

Deacon: Crazy!

Steffy: What are we going to do? What– what are we going to do?

Finn: We have to tell the police.

Steffy: If sheila is still alive she’s had months to cover her tracks.

Finn: I know. I know.

Steffy: We thought she was gone for good. We thought she could never hurt us again.

Finn: She won’T. Okay? I won’t let that happen.

Steffy: Finn, she played us.

Finn: No. She tried. Hey, but we’re on to her now. She thinks that she’s gotten away with this. That gives us the upper hand, right?

Steffy: No.

Finn: Yes. Sheila staged her own death. Sheila’s alive. She can still pay for her crimes.

Steffy: This is your birth mother we’re talking about?

Finn: No, we broke that connection when she pulled out that gun.

Steffy: She shot you, finn.

Finn: She shot you. I am not going to let this go, steffy. Okay? I will find sheila carter. I will not let it rest. And she will go to prison for the rest of her life.

[Steffy gasps]

Deacon: Sheila, this is the end of the line. There’s no way out.

Sheila: There’s always a way out.
