John thought about seeing Abe on the docks. He let Marlena know that he felt like he let Abe and Paulina down. He flashed back to Abe helping him when he found out he was Roman. John wished he were a better friend to Abe. Marlena assured him that he was a good friend. John wanted to know how she was doing with it. She felt like everyone would need each other to get through what happened. Whitley got nervous when she saw the paper. She noticed Abe’s picture on it. Abe saw her and wondered what she was doing with the paper. She covered up his picture and told him about a man drowning at the docks. He wanted to read the story for himself. She didn’t want him to stress out and have another seizure. He apologized to her. He didn’t realize how stressful that was for her. She let him know that she was doing everything for him and got ready to go to work. Theo read about Abe’s presumed death. Theo told Eli that he kept losing people he loved. Lani showed up and said that he didn’t lose her. She let him know that she was granted furlough for Abe’ funeral. She had to wear an ankle bracelet. Steve and Kayla were going over the evidence. Steve found it hard to believe that Abe fell off the docks and drowned. He thought it was too easy. He mentioned that no one saw Abe until the exact moment he fell. He wondered how he survived on the street if he was so weak that he fell in the water. Theo arrived at Steve and Kayla’s place. Steve apologized for not coming through for him. He knew that Steve did the best he could. He thanked him for his donation. Theo didn’t understand how Abe suddenly disappeared and drowned. He didn’t think it made any sense.

Whitley was getting ready to leave when Abe told her that he was lonely when she leaves. He wanted to know if Theo could come over more. She lied to him and told him that he went back to South Africa. Abe couldn’t believe that he left without saying goodbye to him. He wanted to know if Chanel could come over. Whitley said that she would love to visit, but she’s busy at the bakery. Lani surprised Paulina. She let Paulina know that she didn’t think Abe was really dead. Paulina didn’t think it made any sense either. She wondered how they are supposed to have a homegoing when they didn’t have a body. Paulina thought they declared him dead too fast. She wanted to look at the evidence herself. Eli thought it was against policy. Lani gave him a dirty look and he thought Rafe wouldn’t mind. John and Marlena went to Steve and Kayla’s place. They offered their condolences to Theo. Steve and John felt like they should have done more to find Abe. Marlena assured them that they did their best. She said Abe would feel the same way if he were there. John felt like it was better to blame themselves than to accept that Abe was dead. Marlena thought it wasn’t guilt that was bothering them. They know that something is wrong. John and Steve wanted to get back to work. Eli and Lani were at the station. He showed her the evidence they have concerning Abe’s  disappearance. Abe watched the soap and noticed that a character on the show looked like Theo.

Felicia begins her investigation of Martin by going through his garbage. Felicia finds bank statements that have been put through a paper shredder. The pieces of shredded paper are large enough for Felicia to find out Martin has been getting monthly deposits to his bank account for $ 50,000 from a bank in Pine Valley Pennsylvania.

Tracy has a proposition for Martin.

Tracy tells Diane that Lucy, Maxie, Sasha, and Brook Lynn stole her proprietary information about the Deceptor from her and she wants to sue them. Lucy tells Maxie, Sasha, and Brook Lynn someone downloaded proprietary information about the Deceptor from Maxie’s computer.

Dante tries to persuade Cody to tell Mac that the DNA test said that they are father and son but Cody doesn’t want to do it.

Willow tells Nina that, if she wants them to have a relationship, she has to make peace with Carly. Nina promises she will make peace with Carly. Willow tells Nina that she will include her on the list of people who can visit her at home.

Carly tells Diane she needs her help to sell her house to pay the fine that the judge ordered her to pay. Diane tells Carly there may be another way to pay the fine.

Leo found EJ and Kristen in the wine cellar. They told him Megan kept them down there. They told him they didn’t remember why she had them down there. EJ said it was like the memory has been evaporated. Kristen said she thought Megan drugged them to make them forget. She was confused as to what Megan could have used. Leo asked if it had something to do with Dimitri marrying Gwen. Kristen said that sounded familiar but she couldn’t remember. EJ said he was sure it had to do with someone else. Kristen said Leo found them a while ago and didn’t untie them. She told him to untie them. Nicole talked to Eric about EJ not being there for her. She told him she was fine. She said he should leave. They hugged each other. She was about to kiss him when they pulled away from each other. He reminded her that they are seeing other people. She apologized to him. She said she felt an old pull. She said she was feeling abandoned. He told her things would be different if the baby was his. She said he would have been the perfect father. She said she didn’t know if she would be able to forgive EJ for abandoning her. EJ and Kristen came out of the wine cellar. Harris pulled a gun out at Stefan and Gabi’s engagement party. He said he was there to eliminate Stefan. Gabi confronted Harris, but Stefan stopped her. Stefan told Harris that he didn’t know him. Harris said he was following orders. Gabi said EJ hired him. Harris said it was Li.

Li showed up at the Bistro. He assumed Stefan was dead. He imagined being there to protect Gabi. Rafe showed up and assumed Li was trying to crash the party. Li said he was heartbroken over what happened with Gabi. Rafe understood how he felt, but he wanted Li to leave. Wendy said her brother would never hire someone to kill Stefan. Stefan said he did pull the plug on him when he was in a coma. Wendy said that was different. She said it was a split second mistake. Johnny reminded them that he tried to get them to reconsider going to the party. Chad realized Harris was brainwashed which Li did before. Harris told everyone to shut up. He said he had orders from Li to kill Stefan. He said it was about that time. Chad and Stephanie tried to change Harris’ mind. Gabi said if he shot Stefan he would have to shoot her too. She said she couldn’t live without Stefan. Harris said he didn’t have a choice. Rafe came in with his gun. He told Harris to put down his weapon. When Harris turned to look at Rafe, Gabi jumped on his back. When Harris turned around his gun went off. EJ kissed Nicole. She wondered when he got back. He said he never left. He said Megan tied him and Kristen up in the wine cellar. He said he couldn’t remember why. He said he didn’t know why Leo was in the tunnels to find them. Nicole said she thought EJ abandoned her and the baby. He said she and the baby meant everything to him. She told him the doctor thought she could carry the baby to term. Megan had blood coming through her dress. Dimitri caught her when she fell. Gabi kicked Harris. When Rafe strained Harris, he found out what was going on with Li. Gabi went to Li’s apartment. She told him Harris came to the party with a gun to kill Stefan. Li pretended to be sympathetic. Stefan told him not to bury him yet. Rafe showed up to arrest Li for attempted murder.

You know, I have everything I want — a man that I love, I have a wedding on the horizon, and there is barely a cloud in the sky. I don’t see any clouds. Well, just one. Willow’s gonna be home soon. That’s a good thing. But without me. I think my bubble should include nina. Look, I-I know how you feel about her, but if I can only be with a few people each day until my immune system kicks in… yeah. You want your mom to be one of them. We’ve been given a miracle here. Shouldn’t we share it? Not only with the people who deserve it, like your mom, but also with the people who don’t, like mine. You’re not thinking of refinancing the house, are you? No. No. I don’t think I could afford the monthly payment. Besides, I don’t think the bank would refinance me. Okay, good. So we can take the idea of mortgage off the table? Absolutely. ‘Cause I’m selling the house. I appreciate your punctuality. It’s the little things that engender trust. Well, I’m glad you find me trustworthy, but I was on my way to meet a client when I got your urgent message. Have a seat. Thank you. Do you also meet with the quartermaine legal team poolside?

[ Chuckles ] No. They do not have the ability that you do to think outside the box.

[ Chuckles ] Thank you for the flattery, tracy, but it’s absolutely unnecessary. Just tell me what you would like. I’d like to hire you. Hang on. Stop the presses. Did you just say you consider me a friend? Aw, you’re so lucky to have a friend like mac, cody. It’s a wicked world out there. Y-you can easily make the wrong choices, you know?

[ Sighs ] Hey! Is it true? It’s what true? That cody’s been cleared. Olivia texted me the good news. The charges have been dropped. Wow. That is so awesome. You must be absolutely thrilled.

[ Laughs ] I wouldn’t go that far. Okay, listen to me. You are entitled to feel happy for your friend, okay? And we’re gonna celebrate that, all the good news, as soon as we take care of business. Oh, where is maxie?!

[ Chuckles ] Well, that’s a very impressive opening offer, tracy, uh, but I should tell you, I already have all the clients I can handle. Ah, yes, I’m sure a client with the career of sonny corinthos does keep you busy, not to mention carly and all her current legal woes. But I have a feeling that once you hear what I have to say, you’re gonna want to fire all your clients and represent me exclusively.

[ Laughs ] Well, you will notice I have neither accepted your check, nor have I pushed it back across the table. So please continue. I’d like to report a robbery. That’s a matter for the police. I’m not talking about a car or a computer. What I’m talking about is worth a king’s ransom, or if you prefer, a queen. And this queen would like the thieves to pay dearly for what they stole. Well, I’m intrigued. So what was it exactly that was stolen? The deceptor? I don’t get it. Why is this meeting so hush-hush? Are we introducing a new product that’s gonna be bigger and better than the deceptor? Um, actually, you will know soon enough. Um, hey, uh, the twittersphere didn’t have a lot of detail. What happened? How did — how did cody skate on those charges? Yeah, was cody telling the truth? Did gladys really plant that bracelet in his jacket pocket? No. Turns out that the bracelet was just misplaced, and gladys made an honest mistake in blaming cody. Huh. So you and gladys are on good terms, then? Never better. What about you and cody? Dante, dante, dante. You and your wicked world. When we were kids in summer camp, dante was always full of these, uh, stories, urban legends, tall tales of these, uh, these mysterious creatures that were half man, half monster, that’d stalk the forests and eat lost campers. Or so he claimed. Uh, they’re real. They’re real. They look like scott baldwin.

[ Cellphone rings ] -Oh, excuse me. -Ah. Hey, maxie, what’s up? Mac. Is my mom with you? Uh, georgie and bailey lou are with liesl, but I am late for a meeting, and I have no one to watch james. Grandpa, I need my own bedroom. Sounds like you need an entire swat team. No worries. I’m on my way. Problems? Big trouble — the kind that every kid can get into, like every parent knows. Congratulations again on getting those charges dropped. I just hope you can take advantage of it. Martin, did you take my advice about lucy? Oh, yo u mean about, uh,not keeping things from her? Yes. Thank you. Uh, the advice was taken. Glad to hear it. Well, have a nice day. Nice suit. Now that sonny is planning on marrying nina, we can’t keep wishing that she’s going to disappear from our lives. Like it or not, sonny and nina are part of the family. Y-you’ve still backed off on your vow to take down your dad, right?

[ Sighs ] I still haven’t forgiven or forgotten what he did to my mom and our family. But, no, I’m not — I’m not wasting any more time on a vendetta to try and make him pay for the pain that he caused. I’m proud of you for that. But I also just — I don’t want to waste any more time, either. You know, I’ve missed so much already. When I… almost… hey, no. But you didn’T. Okay? You came back to us. Nina is part of us, michael. She’s part of me, whether I like it or not. Look, I don’t expect you to forget or forgive her, but for me… I spent all of those years trying to build a relationship with harmony, despite her many flaws, because I believed she was my mother. Well, nina is my biological mother. Shouldn’t I give her the same consideration? I want to get to know the mother I never had… …and let her get to know me. Yo u know, I can go to ghand speak to willow. Now that she’s had that, you know — this life-changing experience, maybe she could see things different. Thank you. But, no, you can’t do that. That’s exactly what michael said that he didn’t want you to do. And I’m not gonna put you in that position, honey, to — to act as a go-between, plead with willow. If it came from willow herself, that’s one thing. But we both know that she will never give me a chance. Never say never. You thought you lost her before. You found her. And then, again, you thought you lost her to leukemia. That’s right. And what happened? So are you saying where there’s life, there’s hope? Well, sonny corinthos, I never took you as the greeting-card type. No, it’s not that. It’s — it’s — I’m a realist. I’ve seen the toughest guys just kind of melt over holding a baby in their arms. And I’ve also heard that there are women who are not even as big as willow pick up an suv with an injured child underneath. You know why? Because I believe in miracles. It was a miracle that I didn’t die in that river. And where did I end up? Nixon falls, where you showed up. Nixon falls. Well, you’re not only a realist, but you are also a romantic. And i love that about you. But we have to be honest. There are some people out there who think us finding each other wasn’t a miracle, but… …more like a catastrophe. You’re gonna sell the house? Carly, you can’t mean that. Well, I mean, it’s not like I want to, but come on, sam. At the end of the day, it’s just a real-estate transaction. This house is too big for me and donna, anyway. And josslyn — she’s gonna be going to pcu in the fall. Hell, she and trina are gonna move out of the dorms and into an off-campus apartment. This is perfect. Uh, sure, it may sound perfect, but you need to, please, think this through. Oh, come on. It’s not like I grew up in this house. I mean, far from it. And with the money we make off this sale, donna and I will be able to move into a condo off charles street and live off the rest. Okay. Yeah, sure, that — that makes a lot of sense. Except for one thing. What? You keep calling this a house. You’re wrong, carly. This is your home.

You know I am talking to you as your friend, right? So I-I’m just urging you to please consider the consequences of selling this house before you just minimize it down to a real-estate transaction. Okay, I don’t have the luxury of being sentimental. I mean, look at drew. He sacrificed himself for me — his freedom. I mean, sacrificing a house, or a home — I mean, it just seems so small in comparison, sam. Okay, well, speaking of drew, what do you think he would say, knowing what you’re planning on doing with the house? Well, he wouldn’t like it, but he doesn’t have to know. Right, sam? Please don’t tell him. Oh, no, of course I’m not gonna say anything to him. It’s not my place. He’s bound to find out. I know he’s gonna find out. But, you know, by then it’ll be too late. It’s my choice, right? I mean, it’s my decision. Yeah, of course it’s your choice. But… when you put that “for sale” sign out on the front yard, think about how donna’s gonna feel. She loves this house. I know. I know. I know she loves it. And I know she’s gonna miss it. But she’ll understand. Okay. She will. She will. Sure. But will you? Carly, when you and sonny got divorced, the only thing you held on to, the only thing you fought for, was this house. Are you really ready to just let it go? Look, we both know, uh, we can’t turn back the clock. We can’t undo the hurt we caused in the past. But you got to understand something. If it wasn’t for your aunt liesl, willow wouldn’t have had the bone marrow transplant. She — maybe she would have died. You did that for her. You gave her a gift — a gift of your family. And if michael and willow can’t acknowledge that… listen. Your family saved her life.

[ Cellphone rings ] Um… I was — I was just thinking about you. How’s the patient? Well, we, uh, just got the all-clear. Willow’s going home. You must be thrilled to be going home. I can’t thank you enough for all the care that you gave me. It’s all part of the job. No, I may not have worked here as a nurse for very long, but… you went way beyond the call of duty. You were the one who got me to see this… isn’t all about me. I assume you mean being reunited with your little ones? Yes, of course. But also someone else. I was right, wasn’t I? A girl needs her mom. Before willow leaves the hospital, there’s, uh, something that she needs. Of course. Just name it. She needs her mom. As you can see, the file contains a timeline detailing the development of the deceptor and the skyrocketing sales once it was released. Tracy, these documents look very confidential. How did you get them? Ah, home already. I take it you have something for me. Here. All the proprietary information on the deceptor, from the current sales report to the first communications about it last fall. Never mind how I got them. How did deception get them? And do not tell me that they sprang fully formed from lucy coe’s questionable brain. No, no, of course not. A product like this often has years of research and development, but — and yet — and yet, the timeline confirms they suddenly showed up in deception’s files as early as last autumn. Okay. Cards on the table, tracy. Are you saying that the deceptor is stolen intellectual property? I’m not saying it. You are. Yes, cody is my friend, and I am very glad that his name was cleared. Hmm. No thanks to gladys. Yeah. Gladys was pretty useless as my assistant, but she did seem pretty dedicated to nailing cody. Look, from gladys’ point of view, she was just looking out for me. The only crime she made was caring too much. I know you feel loyal to her, but you’re still gonna push for her to end this guardianship over you, right? Yes. I am more determined than ever. And thanks to the help of my psychiatrist, dr. Damon montague, I believe the court is ready to decide I am able to be on my own. In fact, I am gonna go celebrate my upcoming freedom with a latte from perks, if you ladies will excuse me. -Oh. -Oh. So, uh , what were youand scott talking about? Look, I bet you 10 to 1 the words “get rich quick” were involved. Scott and I have a connection, remember? Right. Dominique baldwin. Yeah. Not only was she my mom, but she was also the love of scott’s life at one time. Okay, so why does that connection mean so much to you when the other connection — mac being your dad — how come that doesn’t mean anything to you? How many times do I have to say it? Mac’s better off not knowing.

Mac’s better off? Yeah. Or you’re better off? ‘Cause it seems like whatever you and scott got cooking is on the wrong side of the law. And, look, I-I’m the law, right? I’m the law. And if you’re in over your head, like you kind of have been ever since you fell in that pool — just drop it, dante. Okay? Okay. All right. You want to talk to me? I know who you can talk to. Ah! Grandpa, can I live with you? I’m tired of being the only boy. James! Hey. Go to your meeting, maxie. I got this. Oh, mac. Are you sure? Go, mommy. We got this.

[ Laughing ] Okay. Oh, maxie, I am so sorry I am late. Tell it to the cops. Apparently, they got this.

[ Laughter ] Hey. What kept you? I took a job. What kind of job? The kind I know best. I am not only your grandma. I’m also felicia scorpio, private eye.

Grandma,what’s a private eye? It means that I solve mysteries, like your “hardy boys” books or your “scooby-doo” cartoons. You do what grandpa does? Yeah. Yeah, it’s very similar. Okay, james, now I’m gonna need your help. Can you find me one of your mommy’s old sheets? The rattier, the better. I know where to look. Oh, good job. Um, if this is about cody, you can stand down. The charges were dropped. Oh, that’s good news, mac. But my case has nothing to do with cody. I’m doing this for an old friend. Someone I know? Grandpa, that’s private. Remember? She’s a private eye. And “private” means you don’t talk about it. Yeah, grandpa. Okay, james, now that you are my official sidekick, I need you to spread the sheet out on the floor. And maybe grumpy grandpa will help you if it feels like it. Well, I don’t know how I feel about that title, but, okay, I’ll help.

[ Laughs ] Okay, private eye, here we go. And, uh, well… now what? Next we get to work, and we look for clues… …by sorting through garbage. Awesome.

[ Felicia laughs ] You want me to talk to mac scorpio? Geez, dante, talk about beating a dead horse. You know that he’s literally the last person I can talk to. No, he’s literally the person you’re choosing not to talk to. And he’s your father, man. Look, if scott’s gotten you into some trouble, talk to mac. Tell him. Tell him what’s going on. He’ll hear you out. Maybe he’ll help you get out of whatever mess you’re in. Yeah, well, what if I don’t want out of it? What if I’m the one driving the situation, not scott? You ever consider that? I know, I know. I’m late. I’m sorry. What is this big emergency? Good. You are here now. I can break the news. What news? Well, I don’t know how to say it, really. There’s no easy way to say it, so I’m just gonna say it. We have a snake in our midst. It makes me very happy that a lawyer as sharp as you is thinking what you’re thinking, ’cause it makes me believe the judge might agree with you. Okay. So are you actually accusing lucy and sasha and maxie, and not to mention your own granddaughter, of stealing the idea for the deceptor? I’m not accusing anybody of anything…yet. Well, then what am I doing here? Can you at least tell me who it was stolen from? It is time for you to put your cards on the table. Are you in, or are you out? This house has been my home for a long time, and I’m not gonna deny how much it means to me. It’s the only house that donna’s ever known. And after my marriage ended with sonny and after I lost the metro court, this house was the one thing outside of my kids that I could hold on to. Even now, I can stand in this room, and I can hear every laugh, I can feel every tear, I can even taste every meal we’ve shared. And the memories of josslyn growing up here, the memories of morgan, those memories… they’re gonna be in my heart forever.

[ Sighs ] So are you really ready to let that all go? I don’t have a choice. I mean, I-I’m a survivor, and I have to adapt. And as hard as it’s gonna be to walk out that front door and never come back, that’s what I’m gonna have to do. Nina: When willow finds out that I am the one that turned in carly and drew, any chance that I have of forging a relationship with her is gone. Nina, what’s wrong? I’m, uh — I’m not as brave as I thought I was. I-I’m gonna mess this up. I can’T. I can’t do this.

Excuse me. Are you willow’s mom, by any chance? Yes. Yes, I am. Willow told me she asked to see you. I’m so happy for you and your daughter. But you’re going to need to put this on first. Yeah. Thank you. It was nice meeting you. Okay. Nina. Willow’s ready to see you.

[ Monitor beeping ] I am sorry. You didn’t come over here to hear all my problems… no, don’t do that. …Listen to this. Don’t, don’T. Don’t be sorry. I asked how you were feeling, and I’m glad that you feel close enough that you could lean on me. Carly, it hasn’t always been that way. My loss. Mine, too. You know, I always considered you jason’s friend.

[ Chuckles ] I’m glad that’s changed. See, I’m not just losing a house. I’m gaining a friend. You never lost me. And as far as selling the house, I say we just, like — w-we put a pin in it. We can, you know, just think things through, see if you have other options. I don’t have any other options. And those memories I talked about, they’re not bound by four walls and a roof. They’re gonna come with me wherever I go. And they’re gonna be the foundation I build on. And — and not just the home I create, but the new version of myself. Aw. There we go. There’s that fighting spirit. Yeah. I’ve done this before. I have. And this time, when I’m finished. I’m gonna get back everything I’ve lost. Willow’s amazing. I knew she was tough enough to take on cancer, but to open her heart to nina was — I mean, that’s — well, she didn’t — she didn’t open her heart. She just opened a door. And it remains to be seen if nina will make willow regret it. Considering everything you’ve been through, you look wonderful. Some color in your cheeks again. And your eyes… the staff here have taken excellent care of me. But now it’s time to go home. Yes. You must be… really anxious to get back to, uh, wiley and amelia. And is there anything I can do to help you? As a matter of fact, yes, there is. Once I get settled in at home, I’D… …like you to come for a visit. A snake? Who’s the snake? Uh, it all began with what I thought was just gonna be, you know, a normal, routine report from our it department. But instead, it was anything but routine what they found yesterday — an unauthorized download from our executive shared drive. That download contained data that was highly confidential about the deceptor. Wait, that data is password-protected. Yeah, it was. Only us. We know the password. So you’re — you’re saying one of us logged on to the shared file and stole all the data on the deceptor? Nope. Not what I’m saying. I’m not saying one of us. I’m saying you, maxie. You stole it. Tracy, if I’m gonna take you on as a client, I need more. There’s plenty more where that came from. Ah. I’m not talking about the money… entirely. I-I need to be able to connect the dots, starting with who actually owns the intellectual property rights, and ending with who has them now and how they plan to reproduce the product. So the eyewitness who saw my dad fall into the water is an actor. Jerry Prentice is his name.

He hasn’t been in much. Just local theater, a commercial. Oh no, look at this. A couple years ago he was on that soap, body and soul.

I mean, why would this guy have any reason to lie about seeing my dad fall into the water?

Look, I felt terrible when I heard the news. I was really praying that Mary Carver would be found safe. We all were the not knowing was awful, especially for my mom and well now we have closure, but Babe is gone.

Look, I’ll never be able to forgive myself with the role that I played in all of this. And I know that Colin had nothing to do with Abe’s disappearance, but I mean, if he would’ve never assaulted him, and if I would’ve never helped him in that stupid revenge block, what ifs are pointless now? Okay. I look, believe me, I, I did my fair share of those when Colin and Sloan’s mother died, and it didn’t change a damn thing.

So now I know all we can do is just keep moving forward.

You know, you were right. You know, but while I was putting up those fires, I guess I was just trying to asage my guilty conscience. Did it work? No, it, it didn’t, and I know that there’s nothing I can do to make up for how I hurt you and your feeling.

I, I feel guilty because I saw your dad fall and I almost got to him, but it was too late and I wanted to jump in and save him, but I. You can’t swim. I, I understand. I know that the last thing my dad would’ve wanted was for you to lose your life while trying to save his. You did what you could, right? You called 9 1 1.

At least you know what happened to her. I’m actually glad that I ran into you so that. I can say thank you for that.

That’s very kind of, you very kind pay me a condolence call. You obviously care very deeply for your patience. Oh, mayor Carver was, wasn’t just a patient. I voted for him in every election. I then volunteered for him on his campaign. Before I ever met him, I felt as if I, I knew him personally. Hmm. Abe had an amazing talent for connecting with people.

Oh, he did. You’re very lucky to have had him for as long as you did. I keep telling myself that doesn’t make the loss any easier. We were supposed to be celebrating our first wedding anniversary. Ridge: Hm. That’s better than a dream. Why did you have to help hope? What– what was it? Where’s liam? What’s going on?

Brooke: Uh, no– no, the kids are fine. It’s hope.

Ridge: It’s hope? She should be at the top of the world right now after what she and thomas pulled off in rome.

Brooke: Yeah. I’m just concerned about my daughter’s marriage with liam.

Ridge: Why?

Steffy: Hey.

Finn: You didn’t even hear me come into the room. What are you thinking about?

Steffy: I was thinking about you. How lucky I am to have you and the kids.

Finn: Hm. Okay. Now, I could buy that, but, uh, I think it’s more likely you were thinking about how hope kissed your brother.

Steffy: How could you do something like that?

[ Knocking on door ]

Rj: Hey.

Hope: Hi.

Rj: Is it okay if I come in? Is it a good time?

Hope: Yeah, of course. Come in. I just, I, um, it’s a bit of a mess. I haven’t really had a lot of time. I mean, I haven’t even unpacked yet, um…

Rj: Can I– can I help you at all?

Hope: No, no, no, no, it’s fine. I– I got it. Um, the kids have been dropped off at camp and uh, I’m gonna work from home today, so…

Rj: Hope, can I– can I help you with all this? Has he texted you or anything?

Hope: Um, no, but I’m– I’m good. I– I’ve got it managed. I’ll be fine.

Rj: You know, it’s okay if you’re not.

Hope: Rj, um… liam’s gone. He’s gone.

Rj: It’s okay. Come here.

Hope: No, it’s my fault.

Wyatt: Hey.

Liam: Hi.

Wyatt: You’re all ready?

Liam: Yeah, well, it doesn’t take long to get ready when it’s just me.

Wyatt: Right. Look, uh, I– I know you’re hurt and spending the night away made sense, but after you’ve had a little time to think it through… are you gonna go home to hope or not? Ffy: No, I think it’s better that thomas ridge: What?

Ridge: Hope and thomas kissing in rome. How does this happen?

Brooke: I don’t know. But she didn’t even know that liam was there until she got home.

Ridge: This whole time, I thought thomas was getting better. He was done with this obsession with hope, but no, he’s running around rome, kissing your daughter.

Brooke: Uh, it wasn’t thomas that kissed hope.

Ridge: What?

Brooke: Hope kissed him.

Finn: You sure you don’t want me to stay? I mean, I could push my rounds an hour.

Steffy: No, I think it’s better that thomas and i have this conversation brother to sister. He needs to know that his secret is no longer a secret anymore.

Finn: Hmph.

Thomas: Steff.

Steffy: Yeah.

Thomas: Hey. Oh, finn, are you on the way to the hospital?

Finn: I am. Congrats on the show, by the way. I heard it was a great success.

Thomas: Best time of my life.

Finn: Okay. Well, I gotta run but, um, hey, just call me if you need me.

Steffy: Yeah. Love you.

Finn: Love you. See ya.

Thomas: See ya. So your– your text seemed important. What’s up?

Steffy: I know what happened between you and hope in rome.

Rj: Hope, here you go.

Hope: Thank you. I mean, you really– you really shouldn’T. I mean, you don’t have to take care of me. And besides, it’s not like I deserve it.

Rj: Hey, look at me. Stop it, all right. Stop beating yourself up.

Hope: I think this might be over and it’s because of something that I did. And how– how could I do that with a man that he hates more than anyone? I mean, I– I kissed thomas.

Rj: Hope, look at me. It’s all gonna be okay.

Wyatt: You know hope loves you, right?

Liam: Do I know that? She didn’t look very in love with me when she was making out with thomas at the colosseum.

Wyatt: Okay. You– you feel betrayed? I– I get that, all right. You– you have every right to feel that way, especially after hope kisses thomas, of all freaking people. The guy who’s been wreaking havoc on your life for years now. It’s unthinkable. But liam, you– you’re married. You have a family, you got a daughter you gotta think about here. Are– are you willing to just throw all that away?

Liam: I’m not the one throwing it away.

Wyatt: I just want to know something. Are you not willing to fight for it? Are you not willing to go to hope and just try– just try to find some kind of forgiveness?

Living with diabetes?

Ridge: So hope started this, not thomas? And liam saw them?

Brooke: Yes, it’s terrible.

Ridge: How does this happen?

Brooke: I don’t know. I guess she got swept up in the moment. You know, that feeling of success and excitement over the preview for hope for the future.

Ridge: I would love to say that this has never happened to anybody else, but it has, to us. We’ve had moments like this–

Brooke: Right. I guess it’s hard for somebody to understand unless they’ve gone through it, you know, feeling that euphoria.

Ridge: But knowing how liam feels about thomas…

Brooke: I’m sure he feels very betrayed. He left. He walked out on hope.

Thomas: Rome was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. I mean, the– the preview, the press conference, hope and I rocked it.

Steffy: I– I guess I’m more interested in, you know, what you did after the press conference.

Thomas: I guess all the– the normal stuff. Exploring around, you know, when in rome…

Steffy: Did you swing by the colosseum?

Rj: Hope, liam might have left, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get through this.

Hope: Yeah, but thomas has been the worst for us so many times. I mean, I don’t understand why I did it. I don’t know if it’s because I got caught up in rome and the showing and the celebrating, but it wasn’t real. I mean, that was just A… that’s a fantasy. I– I just, I feel like maybe I have just… trapped myself with all of these expectations and standards and it’s almost like I’ve built this gilded cage for myself of righteousness and control. And sometimes I catch myself wondering what it might feel like to just break free and just stop caring so much about what other people think and how other people feel. And I guess I am just figuring that out right now. And liam is never going to forgive me for this, by the way. He’s not– he’s not because I betrayed him with a man who has done horrible things to our family. I mean, what is wrong with me? How can I fix this?

Rj: You made one mistake. One. That’s it, okay? Once liam realizes that, he’s gonna walk through that door, right? And then it’s gonna be okay.

Wyatt: I’m on your side, you know that, right? Like 100%.

Liam: No, I do. I do know that. Thank you.

Wyatt: Okay. So as someone who loves you and cares about you and looking out for your family… I mean, you know, nothing’s ever going to get solved if you don’t talk about it, right? So go to hope, give her a chance to explain this a little better and– and keep an open mind, you know, just… let her try to fix it.

Brooke: Oh…

Ridge: Hey, hope and liam, they’re gonna find their way back to each other.

Brooke: Yeah, well, it just can’t tear their family apart. Hope really regrets what she’s done. She wishes she could take it all back. She wishes it didn’t happen at all, but it did. She made a mistake. I mean, god knows we’ve made a few.

Ridge: We have. We’ll be here if they need us. Look, the two of them, they love each other. And love, I don’t know, has a way of making people find their way back to each other.

Brooke: Yeah.

Ridge: Yeah.

Brooke: Yeah.

Thomas: Uh, well, no trip to rome would be complete without seeing the colosseum.

Steffy: Mm-hmm. So much history. Tragedy too.

Thomas: Yeah.

Steffy: You know, thomas, when I saw your designs, I was absolutely floored. You did such an amazing job, but it was also a reflection of you.

Thomas: Well, I mean, no, I mean, it was– it was hope’s vision. I just executed it.

Steffy: Yeah, but without you, hope’s vision would be just an idea. Not a reality. She needs you.

Thomas: Okay. Steff, where’s all this coming from?

Steffy: I know what happened, thomas. You worked so hard to do right by her. You have turned your life around and that didn’t matter to hope. No, it didn’T. I know she kissed you.

Hope: I, um, I didn’t know if you would come home. I’ve been texting you and calling you and… well, the kids are already at camp. They missed you this morning. Don’t worry, I covered, I said you had an early morning meeting.

Liam: I– I spent the night at my dad’S.

Hope: Okay. Well… right, well, um, obviously I have had a lot of time to think about everything. About how I could act so recklessly. When I think about it– it’s almost like I don’t even recognize myself. I don’t know who that person is and that’s– that’s not an excuse. I’m not making any excuses. You deserve so much more than that. But… there’s’s a little bit of a problem now because I’m not sure you’re even going to believe anything I say. I just can only hope and pray that you will hear me. Liam, I love you and I love our family and the life that we share together is precious to me and I will do everything I can to try to earn back your trust. I will. I’m just begging for a chance to do that. And I know I hurt you and I’m so sorry and I can see the pain in your eyes. And I hate more than anything that I am the person that put that there. I never, ever wanted you to look at me like that.

Liam: Never thought I could.

Hope: But that can change. Liam, that can change. And I know that because we– we still love each other. I know you love me and I am so sorry that I betrayed you with thomas, of all people. I am just asking you to please allow me a chance to repair the damage that I have done. Our family is worth fighting for. We can get through anything together. And I have to believe that– that a part of you knows that, liam. Otherwise, you wouldn’t be here. Liam, you’re here now. You showed up. That’s what matters. Please, please let me fix this. Please. Can you say that you can forgive me? I love you.

Devon: Look at you. You’re really considering this move to the chancellor mansion, aren’t you?

Abby: Uh, you caught me. I have been giving it some serious thought. I mean, there’s a lot to consider, but honestly, I don’t think that it’s my choice to make. Leaving here would mean more to you than it would to me.

Audra: Thank you so much. No, your eyes aren’t deceiving you. That really was the head of crawford pictures. I just signed an exclusive deal with them for newman media.

Lily: Really?

Audra: It’s all right. You can say it. It’s okay to be impressed.

Lily: Oh, no. [ Laughing ] No, no, I’m not impressed. I’m just surprised that nate would hand off such an important deal for you to seal. I mean, he was so desperate to be in charge.

Audra: I guess you haven’t heard the good news yet. I’m running newman media now.

Kyle: Hey, dad. You wanted to see me?

Jack: Hey, come on in.

Kyle: I’ve got the latest figures on marchetti. I think you’ll be pleased with how things are going, although we may need to look at the–

Jack: I’m up to speed on the marchetti numbers. That’s not why I wanted to meet with you.

Kyle: Okay. What’s up?

Jack: I would like to discuss how we move forward from here.

Kyle: Move forward? Is there a problem I should know about?

Jack: There might be, given where things stand in your relationship with summer.

Kyle: Oh, dad, you don’t have to worry about that. Summer and i will be professional. We will find a way to manage our new normal, we will figure out how to work without conflict or acrimony if that’s what you’re concerned about.

Jack: I have my doubts. I’m not sure it’s possible or productive.

Kyle: So what are you saying?

Jack: One of you is gonna have to step away from your position at marchetti.

Kyle: The new marchetti is our creation. We reinvented that company together. Summer’s lost so much. I mean, asking her to resign after she’s been put through everything? It doesn’t seem fair. This’ll be hard on her.

Jack: I’m sorry, kyle. Summer is not the one who needs to resign.

Diane: Summer. Look, I am so sorry about what’s going on between you and kyle. I– I hate seeing the two of you torn up like this. But I just– I just hope you know that if you want or need anyone to talk to, that I’m– I’m here for you.

Summer: You know what, diane? Just stop. I– I don’t want to hear your support or your concern. You know, you were absolutely no help in getting kyle to forgive me, so thanks for nothing.

[ Diane scoffing ] Ughh!

Devon: All right, well, you know that I’m definitely not going to be making this decision on my own because we both have to have an equal say, and we have to be on the same page for a move like this.

Abby: Well, I mean, honestly I would be happy living anywhere as long as we’re together. But if I could translate dominic’s baby talk, I think he feels more at home at the chancellor estate.

Devon: Yeah? You don’t think he feels at home here?

Abby: Don’t get me wrong, he loves it here, but that’s where he spent most of his early life.

Devon: I know. I know. That’s– he probably does feel the difference.

Abby: I mean, as soon as we pull into the chancellor house, I mean, he gets the biggest smile on his face.

Devon: Yeah, I bet he does. It’s a nice place. It’s huge. He has a park for a backyard.

Abby: Yes. I mean, and I think he connects this place with spending time with you, which he obviously loves. I mean, as soon as we get off the elevator, he starts saying, “daddy!”

Devon: Well, he would definitely have more space in the mansion and a lot more rooms to explore. We could take one and turn it into a whole toy store for him. He’d probably love that.

Abby: Yeah, what kid wouldn’t?

Devon: Yeah.

Abby: But how are you feeling about this move? What’s your heart telling you?

Devon: Uh, honestly, I just keep thinking about what chance said about katherine because, well, that mansion was her pride and joy, and she’d hate for it to be sitting empty.

Abby: Yeah, no, I heard she would want the whole place to be filled with life and laughter.

Devon: Exactly. And it seems like chance is gonna do whatever he’s gonna do, regardless of if we move or not, so I don’t know. It just feels like another part of katherine’s legacy that I could keep alive. And I know that she would love the fact that her great-grandson is growing up in a house that meant so much to her.

Abby: Then, I think we have our answer.

Devon: You think so?

Abby: Mm-hmm.

Devon: I think we do, too.

Lily: Well, I mean, I knew you were a shark, but I didn’t think that you would turn your back on nate so quickly. I mean, especially after he took such a huge risk hiring you. So, how did you pull it off this time?

Audra: Well, this wasn’t some kind of backstabbing move. I scored the promotion completely on my own merit.

[ Lily scoffing ]

Lily: I find that really hard to believe.

Audra: Of course you think the worst of me.

Lily: Oh, nate, hello. Perfect timing. I just heard about how your coo has sunk her fangs into your job. That’s what you get when you swim with sharks, so.

Nate: I’m not sure you have the whole story here.

Audra: Yeah, she didn’t even give me a chance to explain. She couldn’t wait to go on the attack.

Nate: Lily, uh, I’m temporarily filling in for nick as coo of the parent company. And audra here is keeping things running at newman media for me.

Lily: Oh, that makes sense. You’re a place filler. I got it. Yeah.

Audra: No. I’m much more than a place filler, as evidence by the deal I just negotiated.

Nate: So? Meeting went well?

Audra: I’d say it’s pretty much in the bag.

Nate: Congratulations, that is quite the score. You’ll have to fill me in on the details.

Audra: Oh, definitely.

Lily: Audra, would you mind giving us a minute to chat?

Audra: Of course. I’ve got quite a few phone calls to make about my huge news. Oh, and lily, I don’t think I ever got to thank you.

Lily: For what?

Audra: For firing me from chancellor-winters. If you and devon had never let me go, I would have never gotten this incredible opportunity. Now, I’m flying high at newman media. And I’m not usually one to brag, but I feel like I’m finally at the top of my game.

[ Lily chuckling ]

Lily: Oh, my gosh. Okay, wow. Anyway, um, I haven’t seen you since the tribute to my dad. How are you doing?

Nate: Thank you for asking. I have to say, things– things are great.

Lily: Good. I’m glad to hear that. I was worried about you after I heard about your breakup with elena. It didn’t have to do with audra, did it?

Nate: No, no, not at all. Um, actually, victoria and I have started seeing each other.

Lily: I’m sorry. [ Laughing ] Wow. Really? Wow. [ Laughing ] You are swimming with all the sharks, aren’t you?

[ Lily chuckling ] I mean, I was gonna tell you to be careful of audra and victoria, but you really are managing the waters just fine, aren’t you?

Diane: Look, I know you’re upset right now. Ho– how can you not be after everything that has happened. Stop! Summer, I just want you to know that I’m sorry.

Summer: Diane, you’re the reason that my mom is gone and my marriage is crumbling. Honestly, I– I’m just grateful that I don’t have to walk around on eggshells with you anymore.

Diane: What? Why can’t you see that I’m trying to help you to understand why you’re acting like this?

Summer: You’re trying to help? When I asked you for help with my marriage, it was a test. And you failed it. Miserably. So, I– I’m gonna handle things on my own from here on out. And you know what? My mom was right. You do destroy everything that you touch.

Kyle: You’re suggesting that I should be the one to resign?

Jack: Yes, I think summer should be the one to stay on marchetti.

Kyle: Okay, based on what? Did summer put you up to this?

Jack: No. Absolutely not. Summer would never do that. Look, I discussed this with her, this is a business discussion. Yes, it is personal as well.

Kyle: So, personally you would rather I be the one to go?

Jack: Kyle, I have to look at the whole picture. Summer’s life is in chaos. She thinks she’s losing everything. Marchetti should be the one thing that she can count on.

Kyle: Oh, dad, she should have been able to count on me, but instead she chose to lie and keep secrets.

Jack: Kyle, you are my son, and I love you, and the last thing I want is for you to leave your grandfather’s company.

Kyle: Yeah, but you want me to resign from marchetti.

Jack: From marchetti, yes. Not from jabot. There are plenty of jobs in other divisions here you could walk into seamlessly. We’ll figure it out.

Kyle: Billy occupies my old ceo seat, dad, so what’s left?

Jack: There are probably plenty of options, kyle. I said we’ll figure it out. I’m sorry, I really am, but if you are determined to separate from summer, it makes sense, business sense, to separate at work as well.

Kyle: I see. But I have to wonder if there isn’t more to this.

Jack: What more could there be?

Kyle: Is this your subtle way of trying to get summer and me to stay together?

Audra: I see your cousin left. Did she, uh, lecture you again on corporate morality?

[ Nate chuckling ]

Nate: Why would you say that?

Audra: Seems like that’s what she does. She’s judgmental, that one. She took her own brother to court over the family company.

Nate: Ah, don’t be so hard on her. Lily’s a good person with a good heart. We had a chance to reconnect a little at neil’s jazz lounge dedication and I am– I am relieved about that. The last thing I want is for our relationship to backslide now that things are, thankfully, on the right path.

Audra: Listen, I have nothing against you rebonding with your family. Look, in fact, I’m all for it. Just please don’t let lily’s selective conscience influence important business decisions.

Nate: I’m not worried about lily or any undue influence you think she might have on me.

Audra: Your cousin may want to be on your side, but you still betrayed her company. And now, here you are succeeding without it. That’s probably something she won’t forget anytime soon.

Lily: I am so glad you called me over because I have some news for you.

Devon: Really?

Lily: Yes.

Devon: What is it?

Lily: Nate is involved romantically with victoria. [ Laughing ]

Devon: Yeah.

Lily: Did you know?

Devon: Yeah. I did know ’cause elena told me about it not too long ago and I didn’t wanna go and gossip about nate cheating on her.

Lily: Oh, I didn’t know he cheated. He left that part of the story out.

Devon: I bet he did.

Lily: Okay, well did you know this? That nate and audra have temporary positions at newman? Nate’s filling in for nick as coo, and audra’s filling in for nate as ceo at newman media. So, no such thing as karma, I guess.

Devon: Wow, yeah, no, I guess not.

Lily: You know, I really felt like after the tribute to dad that maybe nate and i could work things out. I just keep wanting to believe he’s this good person, but he just keeps proving me wrong over and over.

Devon: He hasn’t been a good person for a while now. But despite that, how would you feel about being his neighbor?

Chance: Hey.

Abby: Hi.

Chance: Said you wanted to talk? Did you guys make a decision about the move?

Abby: I just– I want to make sure that you’re definitely okay with this move.

Chance: Well, I wouldn’t have made the offer otherwise.

Abby: Because it’s kind of a big life change and I don’t want you to have any regrets.

Chance: I know what I’m doing. I know what I want, okay?

Abby: Okay. Because, you know, it’s just the two of us. I mean, you can tell me how you’re feeling. You can be open.

Chance: Abby, trust me, I’m not holding anything back. Why would I do that?

Abby: Just because we’re not together anymore doesn’t mean I don’t care about you. So, if you wanna tell me how you’re feeling, you can. I’m here to listen.

Jack: Kyle, there is no manipulation here. There is no ulterior motive. This is not part of a plan to get you to stay with summer. Regardless how I feel about that, I would never force you to do something against your will.

Kyle: Then why would you choose her over your own son?

Jack: That is not what I am doing. Kyle, I love you both. Let me be very clear about this. No one is getting fired, I am in no way suggesting that you leave jabot. There are great jobs here that you could thrive in.

Kyle: Mm-hmm. It feels like I’d be going backward.

Jack: It is not feasible for you to continue working as a team. Your jobs require that you work in sync, you would be doing damage to a company you’ve worked very hard to build. And think about it, kyle, working day in, day out next to summer? That would hurt you both, you can see that, right?

Kyle: No, I can’T. Summer and i are perfectly capable of handling our jobs and keeping our personal life out of it.

Jack: You say that now, but try to imagine how awkward a workplace you would be creating for yourself and everyone else. Kyle, if you are determined to separate from summer, separate. No one can stop you from that. But if you continue to try so hard to work with summer closely, maybe that should tell you something. Kyle, we need to resolve this. I’m gonna need your answer soon.

Kyle: I will get back to you.

[ Jack sighing ]

Chance: Thank you. Look, abby, I appreciate your concern. And, yes, this move is something that I need to do for me, but it’s– it’s mostly for dominic.

Abby: I know how badly I hurt you and I will always regret that.

Chance: We grew apart, all right? And I’m coming to terms with that now.

Abby: I know, but if I had–

Chance: Hey. Why don’t we put all that behind us and at least try to be friends again for dominic’s sake?

Abby: I would like that.

Chance: Good. I’m in a good place right now. Really. Looking forward, I’m trying to make better decisions for my future and I’d like to start with the house.

Abby: So, you’re really okay with moving out of the mansion?

Chance: Yeah, I don’t need that place. It’s too quiet, it feels like a mausoleum. It needs to be filled with laughter. It needs dominic running around all the time, not just when he visits.

Abby: Okay, well, it sounds like you’ve made up your mind then.

Chance: Already found a place. I’ll be out by the end of the week.

Abby: Wow. [ Laughing ] Okay then.

Chance: Tell me if I’m wrong, but I feel like this is the right move here. I mean, dominic’s still gonna have all three of his parents. I’m gonna see him just as much as I do now. You know, occasionally he can stay at my house, but he’s not gonna be bouncing back and forth all the time now.

Abby: Well, I think it’s official.

Devon: So, I invited you over here for an important reason and that is to offer you this penthouse. I thought you might be interested in moving in.

Lily: Uh, what do you– what? Where would you and abby and dominic live?

Devon: So, chance came by and offered us the opportunity to move into the chancellor mansion.

Lily: Wow.

Devon: And I know it seems a little odd given how everything went down between us, but we both think that it’s the right move for everyone.

Lily: And how so?

Devon: Well, ’cause chance is single, so he doesn’t need all that space to himself. And as for dominic, that’s where he feels the most comfortable living.

Lily: That’s great. You guys are being very mature about this.

Devon: Yeah. It is easy once we agree to put dominic first. But would you be interested in moving in here?

Lily: I mean… [ Laughing ] …This has definitely caught me off guard, but, I mean, I– I love this place, I’ve always thought it’s beautiful and it’s, you know, the last place…

Devon: Neil was alive.

Lily: Yeah, which, you know, I like the idea of his presence being here, that’s very comforting. So I do love that.

Devon: It was almost the thing that kept me from even considering moving out, but then I thought of you. I thought you’d be perfect to be in here. And I imagine you could get a good deal on the place since I know the owner of the building. So, come on. How about we, uh, we keep this place in the family?

[ Summer sighing ]

Kyle: You know how much I love you. I would follow you anywhere in the world. Even right across the room because you are the center of my universe. You and harrison. How long have I known you?

Summer: Mm, close to forever.

Kyle: And in all that time, you’ve been a million things to me. My rock, my advisor, best friend, partner.

Summer: Tormentor.

[ Both laughing ]

Kyle: My love. We’ve been through challenges together and everyone keeps talking about how young we are, but all I can think about is summer and I, we have lived a lifetime together. And you’ve watched me go down paths that have led me away from you, only to find that I’ve always followed the path that brought me right back home.

Summer: It has been the wildest ride of my life, kyle.

Kyle: But you didn’t sign up for this, raising a child that you didn’t give birth to.

Summer: Harrison is my son, biological or not.

Kyle: I know. And that’s what I love most about you. The way you open up your heart just to let people in. And I thank whatever higher power that put me in your sights. I know we’ve had our obstacles.

Summer: You. It was definitely mostly you.

Kyle: But you never gave up. We’re the best part of each other’s stories and every time I turn the page, you’re doing something else that blows my mind or makes me know we made the right choice when we chose each other. I would choose you every day.

Summer: Even over ice cream?

Kyle: Yes, even over my beloved mocha fudge. Now, just please, just let me finish, okay?

[ Summer laughing ] You are what makes me want to find out what comes next. I know it hasn’t been easy and there will be more difficulties, there always will be. I am so lucky I get to face them with you.

Nate: I can’t believe how effortlessly everything kind of just has fallen into place.

Audra: You know, I mean, what nick went through was terrible. I don’t wish that on anyone.

Nate: He didn’t think he needed the time off. He hasn’t gone back to the office since victoria insisted.

Audra: Hmm.

Nate: She really didn’t leave him a choice.

Audra: Do you know when he’s planning to return?

Nate: No. I haven’t heard a word about it. Who knows? Maybe he’ll decide to give up on the corporate life again. You know, buy another bar or refocus on his charity work.

Audra: That will leave the coo position wide open for you to step right in. Permanently.

Nate: I wouldn’t turn it down, that’s for sure.

Audra: Things are still going well with you and victoria personally, I hope?

Nate: Could be better. Speaking of which, in light of our new positions, we should probably head back to the office.

Audra: Oh, you go ahead. I– I have something to take care of. A little side project I’m working on.

Audra: Not yet, but stand by. It may prove very rewarding.

Abby: Lily, hey!

Devon: Do you? What is it?

Abby: Well, it’s on the chance front. We can move into the chancellor mansion by the end of the week.

Lily: Wow, congratulations.

Abby: Yeah, I guess chance found another place to live.

Devon: He wasn’t messing around, was he?

Abby: No, um, how’s everything going here?

Devon: I don’t know yet ’cause lily hasn’t given me an answer yet.

Abby: Well, I’m sure you don’t have to sell lily on how amazing this place is. Not to mention it is super close to the chancellor-winters headquarters.

Devon: That’s right.

Lily: That’s true. Oh, I mean…

Devon: Come on.

[ All laughing ]

Lily: You know what? I’m in. It’s fine. I’m in.

Abby: Yay!

Lily: I’m in. Yeah, why not?

Devon: Congratulations!

Lily: Why not? [ Laughing ]

Devon: All we gotta do is pack now.

Lily: Yeah.

Devon: Aw.

Lily: Wow.

Kyle: Well, that went better than expected.

[ Summer sighing ]

Summer: Breaks my heart. He’s been through so many sudden, drastic changes in his life. He’s adjusted so well in spite of it all.

Kyle: Well, that’s because of you.

Summer: You too. We made a pretty great team.

Kyle: We always will when it comes to our son.

Summer: The hardest part is gonna come later when he calls out for me and I’m not here.

Kyle: That’s when we will just pick up the phone, then. Okay? I promise to let harrison call you as often and anytime as he wants. And you should feel free to come by and call whenever you like.

Summer: It’s not gonna be the same. Not for me or harrison. Okay. I guess I’m gonna get going.

Kyle: Here, let me help you with your bags.

Summer: No. It’s okay. I got it.

Diane: It wasn’t pretty, jack. I cannot believe what summer said to me.

Jack: I am so sorry you had to deal with that.

Diane: Well, I’m trying not to blame her for being so upset. You know, she just needed to lash out at someone and there I was, the easiest target.

Jack: Well, that’s very generous of you, but she has no right treating you that way. You are not to blame for their problems. I had my own run-in with kyle earlier.

Diane: Well, I can imagine he’s as upset about their breakup as she is.

Jack: Well, it wasn’t about that directly. It was about marchetti.

[ Door creaks open ]

Diane: Kyle. Are you okay? What’s– what’s wrong?

Kyle: We told harrison about the separation. It went as well as could be expected.

Jack: That couldn’t have been easy.

Kyle: Summer also moved out of the house and… I told her I will be resigning from my position at marchetti.

Jack: I’m sure that was difficult to decide. More difficult to tell summer, but, kyle, I promise you, this new job is gonna be more than rewarding.

Kyle: Thanks, dad. I don’t think so.

Jack: Wait, what does that mean?

Kyle: I appreciate you offering a spot for me to stay at jabot, but I’m afraid I have to respectfully decline. I hope you’ll understand, but I need some space to figure out what’s next.

Jack: What’s next without jabot?

Abby: I have to schedule the movers, I have to get extra keys for the chancellor house, I have to notify the post office. I have to have dominic’s penthouse furniture put in storage or I could give it to charity.

[ Abby sighing ] Are you okay? Is all of this moving too fast?

Devon: What?

Abby: It’s just, we can slow it down. I mean, there’s no rush at all.

Devon: Nah, no need to slow anything down. I appreciate you being concerned. I’m fine.

Abby: Are you sure? ‘Cause I saw you drifting over here. I mean, it’s okay if you’re having second thoughts about moving.

Devon: Nah, it’s not any second thoughts, it’s– it’s just– it’s gonna be a little tougher to leave this place than I thought, you know? This is where I– I did all my real growing up. This is where I figured out who I am and what I wanted out of life. After all that time I spent at the gcac, this was the first place where I really felt like I could settle down.

Abby: Hmm. It’s not too late to change our minds.

Devon: No. We’re not gonna change our minds. It’s time to move on. And it’s time for us to start our life together.

Abby: Yeah.

Devon: Right?

Abby: Mm-hmm. Yeah.

Devon: It’s gonna be great.

[ Abby chuckling ]

Chance: Hey.

Summer: Hey.

Chance: Tell me this isn’t what it looks like.

Summer: Actually, it’s exactly what it looks like. Kyle asked me to move out.

Kyle: Got your text, but I’m surprised you wanted to meet here.

Audra: Well, I had a banner day as newman media’s newly minted interim ceo and I was busy getting settled in and meeting with department heads, but I had time for a short break and you seemed so eager, so, um, I thought I could spare you a few brief minutes of my very, very valuable time. Uh, how was your day?

Kyle: Um… summer moved out. She and I are separated. Want your clothes to smell freshly

Diane: It’s tough to see kyle hurting like this.

Jack: He’s at a crossroads in his life emotionally and professionally. Would he really walk away from jabot? And his family?

Diane: It’s just all so fresh right now. Kyle just needs to take a breath, take a step back and maybe even get away for a little while. And then he can return to his family’s business and find his place here. He knows that this is where he needs to be.

Jack: I don’t know. I’d sure like to believe that. I do know one thing. That house is gonna be a whole lot sadder without summer there.

Chance: Summer, I’m truly sorry. Unfortunately I’ve been through this, so I know it’s tough.

Summer: Yeah, it is.

Chance: Well, if you need someone to talk to, I’m here. Don’t be afraid to reach out.

Summer: Thanks. I think I just need to get settled into my new home and try to let all of this blow over. Then I can focus on getting my marriage back on track.

Audra: Sorry to hear that. I can imagine ending a marriage isn’t easy.

[ Kyle sighing ] I– I hope it didn’t have to do with, you know, with what happened with us last night.

Kyle: No. Trust me. My problems with summer started way before you and I slept together.

Audra: Well, I– I don’t mean to pry, but that’s a relief. I would hate to think that I, you know, made things worse for you.

Kyle: No, you don’t need to worry about that. Things were already bad, I just… I have a lot to figure out right now.

Audra: Don’t tell me there’s more?

Kyle: As if the separation wasn’t enough, I’m out of a job. Apparently, summer got to keep custody of the workplace.

Audra: I’m surprised. Uh, I would think that if anyone had to go, it’d be her, right? Jabot is your family’s company.

Kyle: Right.

Audra: Hmm. Well, I– I’m curious, what’re you gonna do next?

[ Kyle chuckling]

Kyle: I haven’t gotten that far. That’s much of what I have to figure out.

Audra: Interesting.

Kyle: Hmm.

Hope, devastated by Liam’s announcement that he wants a divorce, sends him several desperate text messages. At the cabin, she breaks down in tears and blames herself for everything. R.J., her brother, tries to console her and reassures her that it was just one mistake and things will be okay.

Meanwhile, Liam is haunted by the image of Hope and Thomas kissing. His brother, Wyatt, encourages him to fight for his marriage and find forgiveness. Steffy, reflecting on her own encounter with Liam, discusses the situation with Finn and plans to have a conversation with Thomas. At Forrester, Ridge and Brooke express their understanding of the situation and the power of love to bring people back together.

In a tender moment, Liam surprises Hope by returning home. Hope pleads for a chance to earn his trust back and expresses her love for him, hoping that he still wants to make things better. The scene ends with a fragile glimmer of hope as she gently touches Liam’s cheek.

Chanel goes home to Paulina and brings in flowers that they received. Chanel reads the card and that the flowers were from John and Marlena. Paulina calls them good friends who loved Abe so much and says they must be grieving as well, so she feels she should send them something. Chanel encourages her to just take care of herself right now.

John has a dream about finding Abe on the docks and then Abe saying goodbye. John then wakes up in a panic.

Whitley goes home with her mail and sees the front page of the newspaper about Abe being presumed dead. Whitley goes to throw it away but Abe comes in and questions what she is doing.

Eli goes to Theo’s room at the Salem Inn and hugs him. Theo asks if Eli has seen the newspaper saying that Abe is dead and that Rafe thinks so too. Theo cries that he keeps losing all the people he loves. Lani then arrives and says he hasn’t lost her as they embrace. Theo questions her being there. Lani explains that she hasn’t been released from prison but Eli convinced them to let her go for Abe’s funeral and she just has to wear an ankle monitor. Theo hugs her and is thankful that she is there. Lani tells him that she’s grateful to be there but she’s so sorry she couldn’t have been there when Abe first went missing. Eli assures that there is nothing she could have done that Steve, John, and Rafe didn’t try. Theo doesn’t get how no one saw Abe. Lani encourages him to be strong for each other because that is what Abe would’ve wanted as they hug.

Kayla joins Steve in the living room at home. Kayla comments on Steve not coming to bed last night. Steve knew he wouldn’t be able to sleep as he still can’t believe that Abe fell off the docks and drowned. Kayla brings up the evidence. Steve points out that evidence can be fabricated. Kayla asks if that’s what he thinks happened. Steve feels it’s too easy.

Marlena comments on John waking up in a sweat, calling out Abe’s name. John laments another damn nightmare. Marlena asks if he wants to talk about it. John explains that in the dream, he found Abe at the docks and then he was gone. John complains that Paulina trusted that he and Steve would find Abe, but he let her down and let Abe down.

Abe asks what Whitley is doing with the newspaper. She admits she was getting rid of it before he woke up because she didn’t want him to get upset. Abe responds that he is upset now because he doesn’t like being handled. Whitley tells him that something terrible happened at the docks as a local man who had gone missing was found in the water and now his poor family can have closure because they had been looking for him for weeks. Abe says he feels sorry for them, but he’s not falling apart, so he’d like to read that story for himself.

Chanel gets lasagna at the door that Maggie and Victor sent over. Chanel encourages Paulina to take a shower and get dressed but Paulina says for now, she just needs to sit here as she hugs Chanel.

Whitley tells Abe that she’s putting her foot down because the details are too upsetting and the doctors say they have to keep his stress levels to a minimum. Abe argues that he feels fine. Whitley claims she’s scared all the time. Abe apologizes as he knows this isn’t easy for her. Whitley says she just can’t lose him and talks about having to go to work and leaving him home alone. Abe assures that he feels fine and she doesn’t have to worry about him. Whitley decides to go get ready for work, insisting that she’s doing this for him and it’s what’s best for him.

Marlena feels John is being too hard on himself when he and Steve did everything they could to find Abe. John feels they must not have done enough. John states that the worst part is that they gave Paulina hope by telling her it doesn’t make sense how Abe could’ve gotten all the way to the docks without someone recognizing him. John acknowledges the hospital bracelet and his blood was on the scene as well as the eye witness.

Lani tells Theo about getting to see her kids and how they are too young to understand what’s going on. Fireworks begin going off outside. Theo realizes it’s the 4th of July which means it’s Eli and Lani’s anniversary. Theo asks them what’s wrong as they both seemed weird when he brought up their anniversary. Eli reveals that they’ve decided not to celebrate this year. Lani says it’s because of Abe. Theo argues that is a reason they should celebrate because of how happy Abe was for them. Lani cries that she can’t have champagne and a fancy dinner without Abe there. Theo apologizes for upsetting her. Eli hugs Lani as she cries. Eli suggests they head over to Paulina’s and invites Theo, but Theo says he’ll come later as he thinks Paulina will want to spend some time alone with Lani. Theo adds that he has something he has to do.

Steve asks Kayla if she really thinks Abe was physically capable of getting out of the hospital on his own. Kayla admits she didn’t think so at first but supposes it’s possible. Steve talks about the police putting out an APB and searching for weeks for one of the most well known people in the city but they get no reports until one day, the first person to see Abe sees him fall in to the water and drown and the case is closed. Steve feels something doesn’t add up. Steve questions how Abe would’ve survived the weeks before that since he suffered amnesia and was recovering from a head injury. Kayla asks if he still thinks Colin did it. Steve says maybe he kidnapped Abe, but he was in jail most of the time that Abe was missing. Steve doesn’t understand how Abe didn’t end up in social services. Kayla brings up Abe being instrumental in helping the homeless and says this is scaring her. Theo arrives at the door. Kayla hugs him and says she’s so glad he came over. Steve hugs him and says he’s so sorry. Steve calls it a tough day and apologizes that he and John didn’t come through for them. Theo says they did their best and he just came to thank them for the donation to Abe’s charity. Kayla talks about how they really loved Abe and they love Theo so they are here for him, always.

John thinks back to a past time with Abe. Marlena asks where he was just now. John responds that he was thinking of the moment he found out that he wasn’t the person he thought he was and how his whole life changed in an instant and Abe was there. John declares that his friendship with Abe was the one thing that was still the same in his life. John wishes he could’ve been as good a friend to Abe as he had always been to him. Marlena encourages that he was and that Abe always knew that. John complains that he was so damn sure they were going to find Abe and that he was being held against his will, but he was so damn wrong.

Abe turns on the TV as Whitley tells him that she’s off to work now. She asks if he’s still mad at her. Abe responds that he’s not mad and he just gets a bit lonely when she’s gone. She thought he was catching up on Body and Soul. Abe remarks that it would be nice to have people who talk back and suggests Theo could come hang out for awhile. Whitley tells him that Theo had to travel back to South Africa. Abe questioning his son leaving town without saying goodbye. Whitley claims that Theo stopped by but Abe was resting and she didn’t want to disturb him. Abe argues that she should’ve woken him up. Whitley agreed and apologizes. Abe then asks about Chanel and if she can come see him.

Paulina tells Chanel that she just keeps thinking about the heartache she caused Abe with her secrets and lies. Chanel encourages that she more than made up for it with her love as Abe was crazy about her. Eli and Lani then show up at the door, surprising Chanel.

Kayla encourages Theo to remember to eat and that they are there if he ever feels alone or needs to talk. Theo thanks them and thinks he’s going to be okay, especially now that his sister is here.

Chanel tells Paulina that she won’t believe this. Lani then enters, shocking Paulina as they embrace.

John apologizes to Marlena for talking about and thinking about himself when Marlena is going through this too. Marlena states that it is hitting her hard too, but that doesn’t mean he can’t talk about how he’s feeling. Marlena says the only way to get through this is to talk about their feelings. Marlena thinks she has an idea.

Kayla tells Theo that Paulina must have been thrilled to see Lani and is thankful to Eli for bringing her home. Theo points out that it’s only temporary. Kayla is glad the whole family will be together for the funeral. Theo brings up how when his mom died, he got to say goodbye but his dad just disappeared. Theo cries that it doesn’t make sense to him.

Paulina tells Lani that she’s so grateful that she’s here, even if it is for a terribly sad reason. Lani responds that she’s grateful too even if it is for a short time. Lani states that part of her doesn’t feel like Abe is really gone as it’s so surreal. Paulina complains that the way it happened just doesn’t make sense to her. Paulina says maybe that’s because they didn’t get to say goodbye to him or see him. Paulina asks how they can have a proper funeral without a body.

Whitley informs Abe that Chanel intended to come over but she’s been swamped at the bakery. Abe guesses that means another day of staring at the walls. Whitley encourages him about watching Body and Soul.

Eli says there is no telling when or if Abe’s body will ever be found. Lani points out that they didn’t waste any time declaring Abe dead even though there’s no evidence proving it as fact. Lani wants to see the evidence and tells Eli that she wants to go to the police station. Eli notes that’s against policy but says given the circumstances, he doesn’t think Rafe would mind. Lani asks to go now but Paulina argues that it’s her anniversary so she shouldn’t be spending it at the police station, especially when nothing she finds there can bring back Abe. Lani insists that she has to see the evidence for herself or she’ll never sleep again. Paulina knows there is no changing her mind. Chanel decides to walk Lani and Eli out as she has to get back to the bakery. Chanel asks if Paulina will be okay by herself. Paulina responds that she better get used to it.

John and Marlena go to Steve and Kayla’s where they are surprised to see Theo. Marlena hugs Theo and says it’s so good to see him and that she’s so sorry about Abe. Theo tells John that he knows how hard he and Steve worked to find Abe and he’s very grateful. Steve calls Abe one of the best men and says they loved him a lot. Theo says Abe knew that and gets emotional. Marlena asks if he wants to talk. Theo thinks he should get going and mentions that Lani is there. Marlena sends their love to Lani and Paulina. Kayla says to call if there’s anything they can do. Theo says it was nice to see them all again. Steve tells him to come back any time as Theo then exits. Steve and John complain that they should have found Abe. Marlena feels they are blaming themselves too much when they did everything they could and did their very best.

Whitley tells Abe that she wishes she could stay and watch Body and Soul with him but she has to get to work, so she tells him to have fun and exits.

Eli brings Lani to the police station and asks if she’s okay. Lani says it’s just really weird being back here with so many memories, mainly meeting Eli and falling in love. They talk about getting married and living happily ever after as they kiss.

John agrees that he and Steve busted their ass to find Abe. John thinks he’s just blaming himself because it’s a lot easier than accepting the fact that Abe is gone. Steve feels the same. John tells Steve about his dream of Abe. John mentions that in the dream, Abe just walked away from him and didn’t fall in the water. Marlena asks about the end of the dream and for more details. John explains that in the dream, he was going to call Paulina but Abe said he couldn’t stay and then said goodbye, turned around and walked off. Marlena feels something is wrong. Steve agrees, repeating that Abe had amnesia and questions how he survived all those weeks with no one seeing him or looking after him. John brings up the witness being the only person to see him which means Abe had to get all the way down to the dock without anyone seeing him. Steve declares that they need to get back to work.

Lani and Eli go over the evidence in Abe’s case in the interrogation room. Lani recalls when she first came to Salem and being determined to prove that Abe was her biological father but she was wrong. Eli encourages that Abe is her father in every way that counts. Lani goes over Jerry’s witness statement and sees his photo which she notes looks like a professional photo. Eli notes that Jada dug that up and it turns out that Jerry is an actor.

Abe continues watching Body and Soul where Jerry shows up as an actor in the show. Abe recognizes him and questions it being Theo.

Whitley shows up at Paulina’s door. Paulina asks what she’s doing there.

Victoria: You’re onboard as the interim coo. I don’t see why that would be particularly unusual.

Nate: But we both know how a lot of people feel about me stepping in for nick. And me sitting in your chair. You’re making a hell of a statement with this move.

Nikki: Adam, I am speaking to you as a fellow parent who has experienced loss. And it is unimaginable. The emptiness is overwhelming. Your vision of your future with your child has been taken from you.

Adam: Taken from me? No, no. Ask sally. This was my choice. Our little girl is dead because of me.

Nikki: That is not true.

Adam: Well, it is to sally and she hates me for it. I mean, our little girl didn’t even get to take a breath because of me.

The first person to lay eyes on Ave sees him at the exact moment. He walks into the water and drowns, and then the case is closed, all tied up with the ribbon. Something doesn’t add up, baby.

So you’re saying that if egg was so confused and so out of it, he just, he just walked off a dock into the river then how did he survive the weeks before that? No, he was, uh, not only suffering from Amnesia, he was recovering from a head injury. So what did he negotiate the streets on his own. Would you still think that it was Colin Bedford that did it?

I know maybe he kidnapped Abe, I don’t know. But he was in jail most of the time. Abe was missing if someone wasn’t looking after Abe. I don’t understand how he didn’t end up in social services. And thanks to Abe Salem is very proactive in helping the homeless. You know, you’re really, you really kind of scaring me now.

I was thinking that maybe just, maybe this is not really about John’s guilt, the dream. I mean, maybe it’s about. John’s something that, there’s something wrong here. That’s what I’ve been saying. Abe was injured, he had amnesia. How did he survive all those weeks? With no one seeing him looking after him.

Yeah. And this, this witness, the one and only person to see him is the one who watches him go in the water. That means eight had to get from wherever he was all the way down to the dock without anyone seeing him. We need to get back to work.

In Willow’s hospital room, Michael informs her that someone else will deliver the update on her condition. T.J., a friend of Willow’s, enters and reveals that the bone marrow transplant was a success and there are no leukemia cells detected in her blood or bone marrow. Although remission will be determined in the coming months, T.J. assures them that things are looking positive. Willow can go home, but precautions must be taken due to her fragile immune system.

Sasha receives surprising news that Gellhorn Jewelers dropped larceny charges against Cody. Suspicious of Gladys’ lack of surprise, Sasha confronts her, and Gladys explains that a waiter found the bracelet and mistakenly placed it in Cody’s pocket. Sasha advises Gladys to apologize to Cody for the misunderstanding. Later, during her therapy session, Sasha is given medication to help with her anxiety and is encouraged to try mindfulness exercises.

Dante shares news with Mac that the charges against Cody have been dropped. Mac apologizes for arresting Cody and expresses his desire to be friends. Dante confronts Scott about his involvement with Cody and warns him not to lead Cody into trouble. Mac tells Cody about the dropped charges and advises him to be cautious with Scott. Carly reaches out to Sam for support, and they discuss Carly’s financial crisis. Carly comes up with a plan, thanks to Sam’s help.

Nicole tells Eric that she knows it must have been difficult for him to be in the hospital with her, so she wants him to know it means a lot. Eric is glad he could be there for her as they hug. They get close until Eric decides he should go get her food because she’s looking pale and quickly exits the room.

Leo enters the wine cellar in the DiMera Tunnels and finds EJ and Kristen tied up. EJ never thought he’d say thank God that Leo’s here. Leo questions what is going on here. Kristen and EJ explain that Megan did this to them and have held them captive for weeks. Leo talks about how he knew Megan was up to something, so he followed her here. Leo calls it an underground bondage dungeon while Kristen assures that’s not what this is. Leo asks why Megan did this to them. EJ starts to reveal that they found out what Megan was planning, but then he begins suffering memory loss from the injection and says that he doesn’t remember.

Megan arrives at the Bistro and welcomes everyone. Megan apologizes for the delay and says that to make this a really special night, she brought a bottle of Stefano’s favorite champagne and it took a little longer than expected but she’s here now. Megan is so glad they are all here too because there is nothing in this world more important than family. Megan adds that she’s so grateful that they have all welcomed her back. Megan is thrilled to host this gathering for her newfound brother and his gorgeous bride to be. Megan says she just knows that Stefano is smiling down on them now, happy to see them all together again. Megan admits that she knows they have their differences but says they overcome them because that’s what families do. Chad mutters to Stephanie that Megan’s an assassin and that’s kind of hard to overcome. Megan talks about all the lost years they could’ve spent together but says she looks forward to the many happy years to come. Megan calls for everyone to grab a glass of champagne to toast the couple. Harris Michaels then arrives. Megan pretends to be shocked and asks what the hell he’s doing there. Harris then pulls his gun out, scaring everyone in the room.

Li exits Dr. Rolf’s lab with Harris Michaels’ phone which rings as Kate calls. Li remarks to himself that he’s sorry to Kate because Harris is unavailable as he’s under new management and he and Megan have already given him his new assignment to eliminate Stefan DiMera.

Harris says he’s sorry to interrupt the festivities and orders everyone to move to one side of the room. Chad questions what he’s doing. Harris responds that he’s here to eliminate a threat which Chad questions. Megan claims that she’s the threat and that Harris is there to kill her.

Eric brings Nicole her food and says he’s looking out for her and the baby. Nicole remarks that if only the baby’s father was that attentive. Nicole appreciates Eric’s help but argues that EJ should be the one doing this instead of being on some secret business trip where he can’t even answer his phone. Eric says he’s sure EJ has his reasons. Nicole complains that they won’t be good enough as it’s like he’s forgotten what’s important. Nicole remarks that the baby isn’t even born yet and EJ has already abandoned them.

Leo questions EJ not remembering. EJ tries to think but says it’s like the memory evaporated from his brain. EJ asks what Kristen thinks. Kristen responds that she thinks Megan injected them with something to make them forget her plan. Kristen states that she has no idea about any of it. Leo says he may have an idea and asks if it has something to do with his son Dimitri. Leo brings up Dimitri proposing to Gwen and thinking that he and Megan have an ulterior motive. Leo asks if any of that rings a bell. Kristen says it does sound familiar.

Li walks through the town square and stands outside the Bistro. Li states that it’s all happening upstairs and that soon, Stefan will be dead and he’ll be there to pick up the pieces with Gabi. Rafe then approaches Li and questions what he’s doing there.

Megan argues that Harris wants revenge for everything she did to him and even came to her house to threaten her. Dimitri questions why she didn’t tell him. Megan claims that she thought he was all talk and didn’t think he was this deranged. Harris says that’s enough. Dimitri tells Harris that if he wants to hurt his mother, he’ll have to get through him first. Megan tells Dimitri to stay out of this. Harris tells them to relax as he’s not there to kill either one of them. Harris then announces he’s here to kill Stefan. Gabi questions that while Stefan says he doesn’t understand as Harris doesn’t even know him. Harris assures Stefan that it’s nothing personal and he’s just following orders. Stefan asks who’s orders. Johnny whispers to Wendy that they can’t just watch him do this. Wendy tries to call the police but Harris fires a shot and orders her to drop it. Harris declares that the next person he sees with a phone will not get a warning. Harris says this can go one of two ways, everybody does as their told and survive or he can take out as many people as he has to in order to complete his mission. Stefan questions how he is a threat to Harris. Gabi asks who would consider Stefan a threat and argues that it has to be EJ, who is conveniently not at the party and has been plotting against him the entire time. Stefan asks Harris if it’s true that EJ hired him and demands an answer. Harris responds that if he must know, it wasn’t EJ. Stefan asks who he is working for then. Harris then announces the man who wants Stefan dead is Li Shin.

Li tells Rafe that he didn’t hear him sneaking up on him. Rafe says he’s just going to his sister’s engagement party. Li points out that he’s a little late. Rafe says things have been hectic at the police station. Li says he’s sorry to hear about Abe. Rafe points out that Li still hasn’t answered his question and asks what he’s doing lurking about. Li argues that he’s not lurking and was just passing through. Rafe notes that Li seems a little nervous to be just passing through. Rafe guesses that Li was thinking about going up there, crashing the party, and creating a scene. Li then tells Rafe that he’s right.

Leo asks Kristen why Megan and Dimitri are using Gwen. Kristen complains that she doesn’t remember. Leo urges her to want to help Gwen. EJ thinks Megan’s plan is a lot more sinister and high stakes, like it’s life and death. Leo asks if he’s saying Gwen is in danger. EJ feels like someone else is the main target, but he doesn’t know who and it’s just a gut feeling. Leo calls them useless. Kristen points out that he still hasn’t untied them. Leo suggests she ask nicely. Kristen yells at him to do it now.

Nicole apologizes to Eric as she’s sure the last thing he wants to hear is her complaining about EJ. Eric says it’s okay as she has every right to. Nicole tells Eric that he doesn’t have to stay and shouldn’t feel obligated to. Eric says he doesn’t and feels that Nicole shouldn’t be alone right now. Nicole repeats that the cramps were nothing and reminds him that Tripp said she and the baby are fine. Nicole adds that Harold is there if she needs anything. Eric asks if she’s sure. Nicole says she is and thanks him again. Nicole tells him that she’s grateful that she can still count on him. They hug and this time they end up kissing. Eric stops and says they can’t do this, reminding her that he’s with Sloan and she’s with EJ. Nicole asks where EJ is then. Nicole apologizes and says she just felt that old pull between them and the old feelings of being abandoned and worthless. Eric argues that she shouldn’t feel either and calls EJ a jackass for doing this to her. Eric brings up if the baby was his but then apologizes and says that’s not helpful. Nicole responds that it’s okay and that Eric would’ve been the perfect father. Nicole adds that he still can be if things work out with him and Sloan. Eric thanks her for saying that. Nicole calls it the truth. Nicole states that she has some hard truths to face with EJ if she ever sees him again. Nicole doesn’t know if she can forgive EJ for disappearing when she needed him the most. EJ and Kristen then emerge from the tunnels, shocking Nicole.

Gabi questions Harris saying that Li put him up to this. Harris asks if that’s so hard to believe as Li apparently still has something for her. Gabi questions thinking that killing Stefan is the way to win back her love. Harris thinks it’s more of if he can’t have her, no one can. Megan says in her head that Dr. Rolf programmed Harris to think he’s working solely for Li, just as she planned. Wendy questions believing Harris and argues that her brother would never hire someone to kill Stefan because he’s not a murderer. Stefan brings up that Li did pull the plug on him while he was in a coma. Wendy calls that different and a mistake, arguing that a split second decision is different than plotting to murder someone in cold blood. Wendy argues that Gabi knows that’s not Li but Gabi agrees with Stefan that Li has a history of trying to eliminate his competition by any means necessary. Wendy insists that Li accepted that Gabi moved on and he didn’t even fight the divorce. Johnny reminds Wendy that Li didn’t want her to come to the party. Wendy thinks that was just about being loyal to him. Johnny feels he didn’t want her to get caught in the crossfire.

Rafe tells Li to stay away from the party because he’s caused Gabi enough pain already. Li says he just ran in to Wendy and Johnny as they were heading in and then ran in to Gabi and Stefan. Li states that he tried to be happy for them but he can’t get out of his head what could’ve been because he loved Gabi so much and still does. Rafe understands because he’s been in a similar situation but tells Li that what he and Gabi had before is over, so he needs to accept that. Li responds that he can’t just will away feelings. Li argues that even now, knowing how happy Gabi and Stefan are just breaks his heart.

Stefan questions Harris about this being true. Harris asks why he would lie. Chad questions what happened to turning his life around and wanting redemption for everything he did. Chad then guesses that this isn’t Harris and that he’s brainwashed again but this time by Li. Gabi agrees since Li brainwashed Stefan in to forgetting that he loved her and now Harris in to being his assassin. Dimitri asks Gwen who hasn’t been brainwashed in this town. Gwen whispers that it’s kind of a thing here. Harris yells at everyone to shut up. Harris says he doesn’t know what they are talking about and only knows that he has orders from Li to kill Stefan and it’s about that time.

Nicole questions EJ being here. EJ kisses her and hugs her. Nicole asks when he got back in town. EJ reveals that he never left as Megan locked him in the tunnels. Kristen points out that she locked both of them in there. Nicole questions why she would do that. EJ responds that they don’t know but they are pretty sure that Megan gave them something that is affecting their memory. Nicole asks how they escaped. Kristen reveals that Leo Stark found them and set them free. Eric questions what Leo was doing down there. Kristen says she has no idea as she doesn’t remember.

Leo remains in the wine cellar and argues that Megan must be using this as her base of operations, so there has to be something down here. Leo searches the wine cellar and finds a bottle of wine but tells himself to focus as he has to find proof that Dimitri is up to no good since that’s the only way to stop Gwen from getting hurt.

Chad pleads with Harris to stop and not do this. Harris responds that orders are orders. Stephanie argues that he doesn’t have to follow them and urges him to fight whatever Li did to him. Chad tells Harris not to listen to Li’s voice in his head and listen to his own because deep down, he knows this is wrong. Stephanie reminds Harris of when he set the bomb off at her apartment in Seattle and how he felt terrible after because of what Megan did to him. Megan tells her not to remind the man with the gun how much he hates her. Gabi pleads with Harris not to let Li do this and argues that he’s not a murderer. Gwen points out that he technically is as she’s read his case and there were several incidents. Gabi tells Gwen that she’s not helping, so she apologizes. Gabi suggests Harris call Li, so that she can talk him out of this.

Li thanks Rafe and admits that he would’ve just humiliated himself at Gabi and Stefan’s party, so he’s glad that Rafe stopped him. Rafe says he didn’t do it for him. Li says either way, he helped him so he appreciates it. Li promises that he is now heading straight home. Li tells Rafe to give his congratulations to the happy couple. Rafe says goodnight and walks away. Li hopes by the time Rafe gets up there, it will be too late and the job will have been completed.

Gabi pleads with Harris to let her call Li. Wendy agrees that they can make Li see what a mistake this is. Harris orders Gabi to drop the phone, so she does. Gabi cries that she didn’t want to hurt Li but her heart belongs to Stefan who is the only person who ever understood her and loved her. Gabi declares that if he shoots Stefan, he has to shoot her too because she can’t live without him. Harris responds that he’s sorry but it has to be done. Rafe then bursts in with his gun and orders Harris to drop the gun. When Harris turns to face Rafe, Gabi jumps on his back. They struggle until Harris fires a shot from his gun, shooting Megan. Dimitri rushes to her side. Gabi then knees Harris in the groin, dropping him to the ground. Gabi takes his gun and hands it to Stefan. Dimitri worries about Megan’s loss of blood as she begins to pass out. Gwen says she’s going to get help and rushes out.

Li returns home and wonders why he hasn’t heard from Megan since Stefan should be dead by now. Li imagines Gabi coming to tell him that Harris killed Stefan and them getting back together.

Rafe and Chad handcuff Harris to a chair as Harris complains that he has a job to do. Gabi informs Rafe that Harris said Li ordered him to kill Stefan. Chad adds that he suspects Li brainwashed him. Rafe mentions seeing Li outside and he was staring up here. Rafe thought Li was coming to make a fool of himself but obviously it was much worse. Gwen returns and says the paramedics are on their way. Gabi encourages Dimitri not to give up hope as Megan will soon get the help she needs. Johnny checks on Wendy, who is holding back tears. Johnny then decides to get her out of there. Stefan questions what Gabi was thinking by going after Harris like that. Gabi argues that she was saving his life. Stefan thanks her but asks her to never do something that reckless again. Gabi says she had to stop him because she couldn’t lose Stefan again. Stefan tells her it’s okay now and hugs her. Stefan states that Li tried to keep them apart again but failed again as nothing can keep them apart. Stefan declares that Li will pay for this and so will everyone else who helped him out.

Nicole questions EJ and Kristen being held prisoner by Megan this whole time. EJ calls Megan an evil, sadistic bitch. Nicole brings up EJ texting her but EJ says he wishes he could, so it must have been Megan using his phone. Nicole admits that explains why he didn’t answer her calls. Nicole thought EJ abandoned her and the baby. EJ assures that he will never abandon her as she and the baby mean everything to him. EJ asks Nicole about her meeting with the specialist. Nicole confirms that she thinks she can carry the baby to term. EJ hugs her and calls it wonderful news. EJ declares that after all these years, they are finally going to have a child together. EJ and Nicole kiss as Eric watches on.

Eric goes home and sits on his bed, thinking back to kissing Nicole.

EJ joins Nicole in their bedroom and says he feels better after a shower. Nicole wants a doctor to take a look at EJ since Megan’s drugs could have side effects. EJ says they will, but first he wants to dress the elephant in the room in Eric. EJ questions what Eric was doing there. Nicole assures that he came over for a very good reason and they will talk about that, just not now. Nicole calls it a blessing in disguise because she got some cramping and Eric took her to the hospital but everything is fine. Nicole admits that Eric wanted to stay because EJ wasn’t around. EJ goes over how he disappeared, Nicole thought the worst of him and turned to Eric. Nicole argues that’s not how it went and that EJ knows how she feels about him. EJ questions if he does, pointing out that a few weeks ago, he told her that he loved her and she hasn’t said it back. Nicole says she knows and she’s sorry. Nicole adds that when she thinks about how Megan could have killed him, she realized that she does love him. Nicole comments that EJ looks skeptical. EJ feels he might have talked her in to saying that or pressured her. Nicole assures that he didn’t and that she said it because she feels it. Nicole declares that he is the father of her child and the man that she wants to be with as they kiss.

Kristen makes a phone call to report a kidnapping of herself and EJ by Megan. Kristen then says she doesn’t remember how it happened and asks why she would joke about something so serious. Kristen tells them to hold on as she needs to get with EJ and goes to find him. Leo then emerges from the tunnels with a bottle of wine and says so much for being Gwen’s hero. Leo wishes that EJ and Kristen could remember what Megan and Dimitri are up to, so he could tell Gwen before it’s too late and then she would dump Dimitri and never look back.

Gwen joins Dimitri at the hospital and asks how Megan is. Dimitri says they got her stable in the ambulance and then rushed her right in to surgery. Dimitri worries that she looked so pale and fragile. Gwen reminds him that Megan cheated death once, so she’s going to do it again. Dimitri thanks her for her support. Dimitri says he understands if she wants to get home but Gwen declares that she’s not going anywhere as she’s staying here. Dimitri then hugs Gwen.

Harris tells Chad that he has to let him go. Chad says that’s not going to happen as he promised Rafe that he would look after him until backup arrived. Stephanie points out that a squad car just pulled up, so the police should be there any minute. Harris argues that he has a mission to complete. Chad tells Harris that the mission is over and he failed. Stephanie asks if it was Dr. Rolf’s handy work. Chad believes so. Stephanie says that Harris can’t catch a break as first he was brainwashed by Megan and now Li Shin.

Johnny and Wendy sit together in the town square. Wendy can’t believe Li did something so crazy. Johnny talks about losing Chanel to Allie and how he almost did something very underhanded. Wendy points out that he didn’t hire a Navy SEAL to kill Allie because he’s not a criminal or a heartless bastard with no conscience. Wendy declares that there is no excuse for the horrible, unforgiving thing that her brother did and now he’s going to have to face the consequences.

Gabi shows up at Li’s door like he imagined. Li asks what she’s doing there and not at her engagement party. Gabi explains that she was until Harris Michaels showed up with a gun to kill Stefan. Li pretends to be shocked and says he’s so sorry. Li says poor Stefan, but Stefan then arrives and tells Li not to bury him just yet. Li says thank God he’s okay but Stefan tells Li to drop the act. Li asks what he means. Rafe then arrives and arrests Li for the attempted murder of Stefan DiMera.

I just took scout to say goodbye to her father before he reported to prison. Then I spent the next hour consoling her because it was pretty hard to come up with something to say. She’s devastated. She just got her dad back, and now she’s lost him again. Sorry to show up unannounced like this. No, it’s alright. Uh, isn’t today… I start my sentence at pentonville today, yeah. Those judges are out for blood. Given the alternatives, I just, uh, made the best choice that I could make. Well, what brings you here instead of spending your last hours with your family? Unfinished business. So, there he is, back behind the desk. Gonna make it permanent?

[ Chuckles ] Been there, done that. Doesn’t mean you couldn’t do it again. Could get a lot of arguments in with your brother that way. Oh, I don’t have to be police commissioner to do that. Ha! I’m interim until someone can be appointed. But I’m glad you stopped by. Something interesting crossed my desk. Something I think you’d like to see. So, have a nice chat with dr. Montague, but don’t push yourself too hard. I know you’re itching to end the guardianship, but you can’t rush mental health. What in the world? I just got an e-mail from gellhorn jewelers. They’ve dropped the larceny charges against cody. Huh. I’m sure they have their reasons. And something tells me you know what they are. Scott: So, once you finally sign this affidavit, I can file it with the clerk’s office and we can get down to business with the wsb. Right. Yeah, business. Yes, and as you know, the wsb doesn’t like to have their cage rattled, so they’re probably gonna play hardball. Oh, hardball? Wait, are you saying that they’re gonna investigate me?

[ Sighs ] Well, you do know what the “s” in the wsb means. Security. Okay, yeah. No, I didn’t know that. Well, like most agencies, they thrive on intel. That’s their bread and butter. Is that gonna be a problem?

[ Monitor beeping ] How’d you sleep? Barely. I think I’m just too geared up to hear what dr. Randolph has to say today. I just heard that dr. Randolph won’t be meeting with us today. Does that mean we’ll have to wait to get the results? Apparently she’s sending somebody that is familiar with the case. Hey, willow, willow, look. You’ve been getting stronger every single day. We have to believe that it’s good news. This cancer journey’s been such a roller-coaster ride. I’m almost afraid to predict what will come next.

[ Knock on door, door opens ] Good. Good. You’re both here.

[ Door closes ] How are you feeling, willow? Pretty anxious at the moment. Glad to see you, though. Do you have the results? I asked dr. Randolph if I could deliver this news. It’s life-changing.

Friend, I felt thismight be better coming from me. And it’s my honor to report that the absolute neutrophil count we ran on you the last three days shows an anc of 500. And my platelet count? Holding steady at 30,000. Oh! Those are the markers that dr. Randolph said we needed for engraftment. Does this mean that — that liesl’s donated cells are creating new ones? From all accounts, the bone marrow transplant was a success.

[ Crying ] This — this is what we hoped for. Does this mean that willow’s in remission? Gellhorn jewelers dropped the charges against cody? Apparently the insurance company has determined that the clasp on the bracelet gladys was wearing that night was faulty. Faulty? Witness came forward. Says here a waiter found the bracelet in the dressing room and thought it belonged to the jacket above it. That’s weird. Yeah, well, our helpful waiter slipped the bracelet into cody’s pocket. Unfortunately, leading me to slip cody into a pair of handcuffs. Well, you were just doing your job, mac. Life’s bitter ironies. I, uh — I imagine myself cody’s father, not his arresting officer. Cody: I screwed up. I don’t know how to make it right. You lied… about the first dna results. You said the mac wasn’t your father when in actuality, he is. Well, hey, you know, at least it didn’t go any further. Uh, cody’s gonna be relieved. I-I’m gonna go see him right now, actually. Mind some company? I’d like to deliver the news myself. I’m no choirboy, scott. Well, who is? Listen, you don’t have to be squeaky clean to be on the winning side of a lawsuit. And I’ll drive home that point, and so you do a nickel upstate. A nickel? It’s gonna be worth it. Yeah. All it cost me was a new friend. You didn’t seemat all surprised or upset when I just told you that cody was in the clear. What’s going on, gladys? I said goodbye to most of the quartermaines already and been spending a lot of time with scout. In fact, I saw her this morning again. That must have been difficult. Yeah, I was hoping never to have to say goodbye to a child of mine again. At least with scout, it’s not forever. Does that have anything to do with the unfinished business? Yeah, this is, uh — it’s for ned — or eddie maine. I mean, I heard he was staying with you. I got to admit, I never saw that coming. You and me bo– whatever he calls himself. Here we are. Oh, that’s decent of you, sonny. I’m just hoping that, you know, his — I don’t know, his favorite guitar can help bring back some memories, some real memories. Well, that’s pretty decent of you. But you could have given it to him yourself. But he — he took off. Is that safe for him to be out? I got my eye on ned. And don’t worry about it. He’s not the only one. Carly: Drew’s the reason i reached out to you this morning. I want to know how you’re feeling about all this. Okay. And I want you to be honest with me. No holding back? No holding back. Right. I am, uh — I’m not happy about it. I’m actually pretty angry, carly. I wish drew would have made a different choice. So do I. Drew was determined to do this. He was very concerned about what a long fight would do to our families. No, I get that. I do. But drew deserves some peace and happiness, and yet he continues to sacrifice all of that. And he’s doing it again because — because of me.

I don’t blame you for feeling this way. I’m the one who bought the shares. It’s my fault. It is all on me.

[ Exhales deeply ] I thought that, too. At first. But not anymore. Carly, I mean, I realize you were trying to help drew and michael keep control of elq. You didn’t see this coming. But I should have. At the very least, I should have talked to a financial adviser or listened to michael and drew when they told me not to do anything. No, no, no, no, no. God, no. Please — please don’T. It’s still too soon to say if I’m in remission, isn’t it? We need six months to a year to see if blood counts remain normal without an infusion. But we’re encouraged. There are no visible leukemia cells in the blood or bone. Really? That’s — that’s good. Very. Better still, these test results mean willow can go home. She doesn’t need a-a sterile environment anymore? Not strictly. Willow’s immune system is still compromised, so precautions will need to be taken. You’ll have to prepare your home per our instructions. Is — is this a dream?

[ Chuckles ] S-so, what, she’ll — she’ll be discharged in a — in a-a week, a couple of days? How’s a couple of hours? Once you get your meds and your instructions, you can go home. I will be home and in my own bed by the end of the day? This isn’t a good idea.

I mean, we need more time. The gatehouse isn’t ready. We still have to sterilize and prepare a space downstairs. You’re not climbing the stairs right away. I’m sure the quartermaine staff can help with that. Or we can stay somewhere else temporarily. I don’t care where I am, as long as I get to hold my babies again. I’m glad the charges were dropped. I had to do it, even though it never set right with me having to arrest you. Don’t sweat it, mac, you know. I won’t hold it against you. Thanks. And I’m glad to see you and scott are on good terms, considering you punched the guy when you first came to town.

[ Chuckles ] Yeah, scotty’s all right. So you — you trust him, then? Careful with that. That letter I saw cody sign, is that something to do with the jewelers, or is that something else? I’m not at liberty to talk about that. Why, are you representing him in another matter? Come on, you do know about lawyer-client privilege, right? You could have just said “yes.” So, what is it you’re accusing your friend of doing? Cody getting scammed by you. What isn’t making me anxious these days? Tell me more about that. Oh. I mean, I guess I just feel the pressure of getting all this right. Mm-hmm. I want to give my colleagues the support that I couldn’t last year. I want to strike the right life/work balance, be there for my friends, one of whom is battling leukemia. I want to recover relationships that I’ve lost. You don’t want much, do you?

[ Chuckles ] This all sounds normal, sasha. What you’re feeling is completely understandable. We all have varying levels of stress. There are many different ways to manage it. You ever tried meditation? I learned it when I went to rehab. But I prefer doing yoga. Oh, yoga’s great, but I want you to try 10 minutes of mindfulness without movement each day. I have an app I can recommend. Sounds good. I would like to feel more centered. I have something else for you. Be right back. Michael, your concerns are valid. But we’re not trying to keep willow away from the people she loves. We’ll have to exercise caution, especially at first. Only close physical contact with immediate family and a small, select number of friends. It’s crucial that you avoid close contact with anyone who could be sick — anyone. I advise you and your visitors to both wear masks during visits. Yeah, we’ll follow the instructions to the letter. We’re both terrified of taking a step backwards. Understandable. But you are well on the road to recovery. And you couldn’t have a better advocate than your husband here. My husband. That never gets old. A nurse will stop by with your medications and talk self-care and follow-up appointments. We can’t thank you enough, tj. I’m just the messenger. You are more than that. You’ve been with me from the start. You’ve been invaluable as a doctor and as a friend. Gonna go before I blush.

[ Chuckles ] Right. Could it be? Our nightmare’s over.

[ Both chuckle ] Maybe we’ll get our happily ever after, after all. I mean, to be honest, sam, it’s really hard for me to wrap my head around everything I’ve lost in the past two years. My husband. Jason. My hotel. Now drew. I mean, $5 million kind of pales in comparison. Ooh, $5 million? Yeah. That’s how much the sec is charging you? Do you have it? But you have a child to support. What about donna? Well, thankfully, she will always be taken care of by her father. Well, what about donna’s mother? I mean, the stress that you must be under. Look, I’ve managed a setback before. I mean, losing the metro court, it was a real blow. But I handled it. And I will handle this. I-I just don’t know how yet, but I will. I admire your grit. That’s something we have in common.

[ Laughs ] Yes. Guilty as charged. We are both pretty self-reliant, aren’t we?

[ Laughs ] We are. But something that I’ve learned over the past several years is that it is okay to ask for help and to push your foolish pride aside. Sasha admitted she struggles with grief and she’s nervous about ending the guardianship. See? She’s not ready. It all seems realistic to me. There is nothing that sasha said to me that tells me she can’t handle herself. So if she’s ready and the doctor and the judge says yes, we are gonna stay out of her way.

[ Door opens ] My pa filled this for you. Take five milligrams three times daily. What is this? It’s a benzodiazepine. It’s a mild sedative. It’ll help you manage your anxiety. Take the edge off, so to speak. And it’s okay to take with my antidepressant? This class of drugs is often prescribed in conjunction. And is it habit-forming? Because I have a history. Dr. Montague: The drug can be habit-forming if used other than prescribed. But I will be monitoring your intake, and I am confident that you are far enough in your recovery that that won’t be a problem. Unless you feel otherwise, like you can’t be in control? Oh, no. I am in control. Totally. I’ve known cody a long time. Okay, he just got in the clear. I don’t want to see him getting into any new trouble. Listen, everything we’re working on is aboveboard. There’s no scheme here, detective. It seems like you’re always warning me about someone, mac. You mean like selina wu? Look, I’m not putting scott in selina’s category, but I do want you to be careful around her. But, hey, I told you I wouldn’t interfere, and I won’T. Scott’s my legal counsel, mac. That’s it. Sorry. I’m prying. Maybe you’re glad we’re not related. That way I won’t be on your case so much. It doesn’t mean I still don’t want what’s best for you, cody. So, why all the interest in me? [ Sighs ] He has been a godsend through all this. So, is, uh, tj who you want to add to your bubble? Absolutely, yes. But I was thinking of someone else, and you might not be happy. Adam is pushing everyone away who wants to help him through the grief of losing his infant daughter. Nikki expresses her condolences, stating that she knows what it’s like to lose a child. Years ago when she was married to Jack, Nikki had a miscarriage. Adam finds her concern disingenuous. He also dismisses his father’s concern for him and Sally, to which Adam retorts that Victor never liked Sally.  Victor counters that he would not wish the loss of a child on his worst enemy.

Victor reassures Adam he is there for him and is his biggest supporter, not his enemy. He adds that he’s there to offer his extensive business experience to him to revamp McCall Unlimited. Their conversation turns to Newman Enterprises. Adam states he wants Newman Media back. Since it is under the umbrella of Newman Enterprises, Victor cautions him against going after Newman Media. Adam previously vowed to crush it, which he implied he would do unless he got it back. Victor thinks Adam’s goal stems from the extremely bitter rivalry between Victoria and Adam. Victoria says she plans to destroy McCall Unlimited. Victor notes that Victoria and Adam are headed for a head-on collision.

Victoria does some dismissing of her own when her mother asks if she wants to keep Nickolas away from his job permanently. Victoria claims she will not. Nikki said that forcing Nick to take a leave of absence and dissolving his team is aggressive and unnecessary.

Victoria said that Nick’s warning her about Ashland Locke is continually thrown in her face. Nick issues the same warning about Nate. Victoria claims that while Nick has distractions in his life, Nate, who is meant to be temporarily in Nick’s job, does not.

Victoria and Nate meet to discuss some overseas business. Nate says he’s ready for it. Victoria insists the same when speaking to her mother. Nikki is doubtful that’s the reason Victoria approves of him going away on business. Nikki says Nate is feeding her sense of power.

Kyle and Audra flirt in Chancellor Park, and she plays coy with him, telling him he may put his phone number in her cell phone, but not to expect a call. She mentions that she wants the top spot at Newman Media and is not hesitant to color outside of the lines to get it. In other words, she is willing to perhaps bend a few rules. After she leaves, Kyle orders flowers and diamond earrings to be delivered to her.

Sharon realizes that the ordeal she endured with Cameron is an opportunity to take her pain and anger and turn it into something good. Before Sharon killed him, he left her his company. Sharon says it’s time for a new direction and that maybe the gift in her nightmare was regaining her strength. Everything changes now, she vows.

Victoria: Well, we are back to back meetings today, so I hope you got a good night’s rest.

Nate: I had a good night, but it had nothing to do with sleep.

Victoria: I’d like you to accompany me on several of these meetings, including brock this afternoon.

Nate: With the decarbonization company. He’s pitching a merger?

Victoria: Mm-hmm. I would prefer it be an acquisition.

Nate: Same page.

Victoria: Yes, well the board is giving me some pushback. They think it’s too risky.

Nate: The risk is undeniable, the downside is very real, but why not be ahead of the pack?

Victoria: Yes. Big. Bold. No limits. No safety nets. Have I told you lately how much I like the way you think? It’s like talking to myself, but it’s much more fun.

[ Both laughing ] Hey, I have an idea. Why don’t you take the babcock meeting this afternoon? The cfo can be a little, you know, hard-headed, but I’m sure it’s something you can handle. You could also head up the marketing team status conference? I think they could definitely use some fresh ideas in there.

[ Laughs ] What?

Nate: Those are very high profile.

Victoria: You’re onboard as the interim coo. I don’t see why that would be particularly unusual.

Nate: But we both know how a lot of people feel about me stepping in for nick. And me sitting in your chair. You’re making a hell of a statement with this move.

Victoria: I know. And I don’t care.

Audra: Soy latte, huh? I pegged you for a double macchiato kind of guy.

Kyle: I like to mix it up.

Audra: I remember.

Kyle: You excited? Today’s the big day. Taking on the role of ceo of newman media.

Audra: Acting ceo. The position is mine only as long as nate is needed to fill in for your father-in-law at newman enterprises.

Kyle: I wonder how nick feels about that?

Audra: I mean, he just went through hell. You know, I appreciate victoria looking out for nick. Giving him time and space to regroup.

Kyle: Looking out for him by replacing him.

Audra: Uh, sounds like you have an issue.

Kyle: Let’s just say I am very familiar with how the newman family takes care of their own and it doesn’t always have a whole lot to do with love.

Nikki: Adam, adam wait.

Adam: [ Sighing ] Nikki. What can I do for you?

Nikki: I am so very sorry for your loss.

Sharon: I’m not going to lie. That box from cameron has me freaked out. Everything I thought I was moving on from is front and center again. The idea of going to work, how would I ever focus? How’s sally?

Nick: I think I convinced her that she should stay home, get some rest. I’ll go and check on her just as soon as I make sure you’re settled.

Sharon: How could I ever feel settled with everything this maniac has hanging over me? Even from beyond the grave. What if there’s another box, nick? And another, and another? This guy is in my head and I hate him for it.

Nick: It could be the end of it, you know. His last gasp.

Sharon: It’s hard to believe there will ever be an end to cameron in my life. Leaving me his company? It’s like he knew he was going to die and he thought of everything he could to stay in my life.

Nick: He was one twisted son of a bitch.

Sharon: I hope he’s burning in hell. Sweet pillows of softness!

Nate: So you know… I am totally prepped to spearhead the babcock meeting. Not just their financials. And you’re right about the cfo. I had done some digging and found some inside information about the guy. Likes, dislikes, quirks. And he’s got some doozies. So, I’ll proceed with those in mind.

Victoria: Why am I not surprised that you’ve already done research?

Nate: Because you know I’ll always have your back. So, of course, I know what’s on your calendar. I’ve been gathering intel so you’d be well armed.

Victoria: Excellent.

Nate: To have the power to change the course of this company… lives… the future. It’s intoxicating. Almost as intoxicating as the way you’re looking at me right now.

Audra: That sounded like you’ve gone a few rounds with a newman or two.

Kyle: Hm, more than a few. I don’t have a problem with most of them. Strong personalities, driven, know what they want. But when somebody crosses a line and somebody always does, things can get pretty extreme.

Audra: Well, coloring inside the lines never got anybody anywhere.

Kyle: Yeah, well, for the newman family, collateral damage is just part of the game, as long as they get what they want.

Audra: That fire can be productive. Or it can burn you.

Kyle: Speaking from experience?

Audra: Ah, let’s just say I’ve been singed more than a few times.

Kyle: You look like you recovered.

Audra: Yeah, you know, I– I used to let it get to me. I’d obsess over what could have been, should have been. But blew up. Maybe my fault. You know, maybe not. Then, you know, working with tucker mccall, you know, he was hardcore. Nothing would get in his way before he went all zen. At first I thought that made him soft, but then, you know, I realized that… that’s just given him more focus. Know what you want, hone in on it and the universe rewards you.

Kyle: So, you play nice and you get to go to the front of the line?

Audra: I didn’t say anything about playing nice.

Kyle: Hm.

Adam: Thank you for the condolences, but given your husband’s feelings for sally, you’ll understand if your sympathies feel a bit disingenuous.

Nikki: Adam, I am speaking to you as a fellow parent who has experienced loss. And it is unimaginable. The emptiness is overwhelming. Your vision of your future with your child has been taken from you.

Adam: Taken from me? No, no. Ask sally. This was my choice. Our little girl is dead because of me.

Nikki: That is not true.

Adam: Well, it is to sally and she hates me for it. I mean, our little girl didn’t even get to take a breath because of me.

Nikki: Adam, it was an impossible choice.

Adam: But, I mean, you can’t be surprised that I screwed up, right? ‘Cause I’m no hero, I’m not like nicholas.

Nikki: You saved her life.

Adam: Well, apparently, that doesn’t count.

Nikki: Yes, of course it does. And thank god you did.

Adam: God? God doesn’t factor into this equation because any god who makes someone choose between mother and child isn’t a god that I believe in.

Nikki: You’re angry and that’s understandable, but you cannot let it consume you.

Adam: I don’t know. It seems to be my comfort zone these days. But, nikki, if you will excuse me.

Nikki: Adam, listen. Listen. You have a bright, wonderful son who needs you and you have people who care about you. I hope you can hold onto that.

Sharon: I go to sleep and cameron is in my dreams. I wake up and I flinch at every little noise. I worry about every delivery. And faith, it takes everything in me not to call her every hour on the hour to make sure that she’s okay.

Nick: Yeah, I’m right there with you. But I’m worried about you too, sharon. You can say you’re fine and that you’re processing it and that there’s nothing for me to worry about, but that ends now. Tell me what’s going on.

Sharon: I killed that man. And I watched him die. It still haunts me.

Nick: You did what you had to do to save your daughter’s life. To save all of us.

Sharon: I know. And I don’t regret that. How could I? But it still pushes me to places I don’t want to go. I just want to stop seeing him everywhere I look and I don’t know how to make that happen. And I am so angry that this bastard has this much control over my life. How do I move on? How do I find peace?

Nick: I don’t, uh, have an answer for that, but… I’m here. All right? I’m all in. For whatever you need.

Sharon: I have an idea. But you would have to get your hands dirty.

Nick: Whatever it takes. If you’re taking an antidepressant

Adam: Mccall needs to be lean and mean. I want to sell off our deadweight and keep anything that can be weaponized against our competitors. And there is only one. Newman media and I want to crush them. I’ll call you back. What?

Victor: I just got a call from nikki. She’s worried about you. And so am I.

[ Phone chiming ]

Nikki: What on earth?

Victoria: You know, one way that I would like to expand is to grow our global commercial real estate. We already have a very strong presence in asia and in the middle east, but I’m hearing about some very interesting eu opportunities.

Nate: Sounds intriguing.

Victoria: Mm-hmm. And, you know, now that my kids are gonna be away at boarding school, it’s gonna give me time this fall to do some more in-depth research.

Nate: So, a business trip?

Victoria: Yeah. That’s what the jet’s for.

[ Nate laughing ] And you know, I know that our last business trip didn’t really go as planned, I understand that, but that’s behind us. We’re free to be together now and… it’s not gonna be all about business. We’re gonna have to absorb the local culture to get a feel for the different marketplaces.

Nate: The food, the night life, you. My bag is already packed.

[ Door opening ]

Nikki: Sorry for the interruption.

Victoria: No. Not at all.

Nikki: Nate. Would you excuse us? I need to speak with victoria alone.

Victoria: Mother!

Nate: All good. All good. I need to prep for the babcock meeting. Nikki, I will get the quarterly account receivables to you for your review. I think you’ll be pleased with the numbers.

Nikki: I am sure I will be. Thank you. He’s meeting with babcock alone?

Victoria: He’s prepared, he’s enthusiastic, he has a great attitude, unlike you.

Nikki: Is your intention to keep nicholas away from newman enterprises for good? (Wheezing)

Victoria: Of course I’m not boxing nick out. Why would you think that?

Nikki: I just found out that you dissolved nicholas’ support team. Now he has barely stepped away, on your orders, temporarily, but now you seem to be making moves that will be more permanent.

Victoria: You don’t understand.

Nikki: No, I don’T. Why don’t you explain it to me?

Victoria: Mother, this is a very fast paced business. It’s constantly evolving. You have to stay one step ahead. It’s not as though I fired nicholas’ team. I’ve just reassigned them to different departments so that they’re not sitting around collecting paychecks, waiting for nick to return.

Nikki: Why not have them continue in the same capacity for nate? Help him get acquainted with his job as acting coo while nicholas is gone.

Victoria: No. No, nate doesn’t need his hand held. He’s done the work. He knows the position.

[ Nikki chuckling ]

Nikki: I’m sure he’s been studying up for weeks.

Victoria: He’s very hands on.

Nikki: Oh, I have no doubt.

Victoria: His drive and his energy and his focus. He’s made it clear that he wants to take on more of the workload. He wants to be fully involved.

Nikki: Are you suggesting that nicholas wasn’t?

Victoria: Nicholas has and continues to have all these outside distractions that keep him from giving the 110% and that’s what we expect at newman.

Nikki: Wow. You have an answer for everything. But this doesn’t feel like a business move. It feels personal. A way for you to strike out at your brother.

Victoria: Mother, it’s not personal. It’s necessary. Nick’s team has shown that they’re not on board with our current agenda. And I– I’m sorry, but I have no other choice.

Nikki: I don’t even know what that means.

Victoria: Like nick, his team doesn’t see adam or mccall as a threat. Nate is willing to go up against mccall. That’s the kind of leadership that I’m looking for in my coo.

Nikki: I see. Well, as your co-ceo, I’m going on record and warning you that I find this to be very aggressive and unnecessary.

Victoria: It’s just good business. I wish you could see the larger picture.

Nikki: Oh, I can see all too clearly, victoria.

Victoria: So, whatever it is, you’re dying to say it, so go ahead.

Nikki: Is all of this retaliation because nicholas warned you about nate?

Victoria: I told you my logic.

Nikki: This has nothing to do with logic. This is about ashland.

Victoria: Don’t be ridiculous!

Nikki: Nicholas warned you time and time again about him, but you refused to listen. And he was right. I think deep down, you’re worried that he’s right this time as well.

Nick: I hope that gave you some freedom.

Sharon: I should have said something.

Nick: For cameron?

Sharon: No. His victims. All the people he hurt, the deaths he caused, the damage he did. Like that woman who lives in los angeles. The one he assaulted. I hope she knows that cameron’s dead and that he can never hurt her again and that she has found peace.

Nick: And you?

Sharon: It might take a little while longer. It’s not just the fear. The space cameron’s taking up in my head, but it’s the guilt.

Nick: The guilt?

Sharon: I brought this maniac into our lives. Our daughter was kidnapped. She might’ve been killed. All because of one stupid choice I made years ago.

Nick: You cannot blame yourself.

Sharon: How can I not? Faith, you know, as strong as she was through this ordeal, this is going to mark her. All of us. In ways we can’t even know yet. All of the psychology classes and degrees in the world can’t give me that answer.

Nick: You already know the answer. It’s love. You and faith are not alone in this. You have me and mariah and tessa and noah. So many people who love you both and will be there for you no matter what.

Sharon: We’re here for you, too.

Nick: Luckiest guy in the world.

[ Nick sighing ] You don’t want cameron’s business. Let’s get rid of this. Let’s throw it away and be done with it and cameron forever.

Sharon: Nick, wait. Watching all that misery turn to ash gave me an idea.

Audra: Newman media was an early adopter of ai. You know, but if we really ramp up, increase focus on using it as a distribution tool, set up algorithms to select content for our users, I mean, it could be a gamechanger for our metrics. Oh, I’m sorry. I’m probably boring you.

Kyle: That would be impossible.

Audra: You know, I– I’ve wanted this for so long. You know, to be at the table, just making decisions that can change everything. And it’s– it’s actually happening.

Kyle: I’m excited for you.

Audra: I’m excited for me, too. And I don’t know how long I’ll be ceo, but I’m going to light newman up every minute I’m there.

Kyle: No coloring in the lines for you.

Audra: Oh, no. The brighter, the bigger, the better. Uh, what’s wrong?

Kyle: Oh, you know, all this talk about coloring outside the lines has inspired me.

Audra: Okay?

Kyle: It’s a beautiful morning. Perfect time to live in the now.

Victor: I gotta tell you, I am deeply sympathetic and so is nikki to both of you and sally. Loss of a child is just unimaginable.

Adam: If you say it’s better this way or if everything happens for a reason, I’m out of here.

Victor: Son, I’m just here to find out how you’re coping. And I wanna know if there’s anything we can do to help you.

Adam: [ Sighing ] I’m– I’m good.

Victor: No, you’re not. Be honest with me. You and sally are going through hell right now.

Adam: The only time you’ve said sally’s name was like a curse. So, now you care about sally?

Victor: Son, I wouldn’t wish this on anyone. Not on my worst enemy. And I saw the joy on her face, and the joy on your face, anticipating the birth of your child.

Adam: Well, good news for you, she never wants to see me again. So, I guess you can take the win on this one, okay? Nikki already gave me the “don’t be angry” talk. She said let it go. Focus on connor. On the people who love me. I mean, what a laugh that is, right? Not exactly a popular guy these days. I mean, not ever, come to think about it. But at least I have my work, right? Is that where I should thank you?

Victor: I don’t want you to thank me. I’m here to tell you how to best get over your grief. You should throw all of your energies, all of your mental capacity into building mccall into the powerhouse it can be.

Adam: Yes. And the potential’s there.

Victor: Yes.

Adam: So, first, we clean house. And anyone who is loyal to tucker’s gonna get a severance package. And then we’re gonna focus on infrastructure. The entertainment divisions are gonna stay. Anything else is gonna be jettisoned and we’re gonna use that profit to focus on horizontal diversification. Specifically, the media divisions.

Victor: So, you’re gonna go after newman.

Adam: It’s good to have goals, right?

Victor: That doesn’t mean that you go after the newman media division.

Adam: I built that company. I made it. And I want it back.

Victor: Is that what this is about?

Adam: Pretty much.

Victor: Or, is it about you wanting to recapture the wonderful days you had with sally at newman media? Hm?

Adam: I appreciate the armchair analysis, but this is strictly about business.

Victor: Let me tell you something. Trying to recapture those days is a mistake. And so is attacking newman media.

Adam: I think that it is brilliant.

Victor: My boy… newman media is part of the newman family portfolio. Don’t mess with that.

Nick: So, you’re interested in cameron’s company?

Sharon: Not so much his company.

Nick: You lost me.

Sharon: What I could do with it. Kirsten incorporated is a tech company. It must have assets and some capital, right?

Nick: I’m sure it has some value. Unless it imploded during kirsten’s years in prison.

Sharon: What if I could take that value and make something good out of this nightmare? There has to be something that I can do with this that would make a difference in people’s lives. Either turning a profit with the company or maybe selling it out right. Donating all the proceeds to charity.

Nick: I like the sound of that.

Sharon: Who knows? Maybe if I take control of cameron’s company, I take back the power he has over me and my life. My actions, my reactions. Instead of running away from who cameron was and what he did, I will transform that hate and anger and fear into an opportunity to help people.

Nick: You just thought of that right now?

Sharon: Maybe I’ve been thinking about it for a long time. You know, the past few years have made me consider what I want out of my life. What my purpose is. And rey was an influence in that. You know, he always made the right choice, even if it was unpopular. He wanted to make a difference every single day and he did so. And now I want that. I’m ready for that. And you’re right. It has everything to do with love. I have been so blessed all my life with so much love. Such an amazing support system of friends and family who have been there for me through everything. Battling cancer, learning how to live with bipolar and now… this horror with cameron. As much as he terrorized me, maybe the gift of this nightmare is that I have found the strength that I’d forgotten I have.

Nick: I think you’re one of the strongest people I know.

Sharon: Well, I lost myself. For a little while there, I did some things, I hurt some people, but I own that. And those things made me who I am, but they are not all I am. And maybe this… is a gift. It’s time for a new direction. It’s time for a new future. With downy infusions,

Nikki: You have a responsibility to the board, young lady, and the family.

Nikki: Oh, do you? You’ve alienated nicholas, you’re going after adam. And nate is just cheering you on.

Victoria: Nate is supporting me. Which is a lot more than I can say about my own family right now!

Nikki: How do you think your father is going to react to this?

Victoria: If he would listen me instead of jumping to conclusions and judging me, maybe we could have a conversation about it.

[ Victor sighing ]

Rj: You’re serious? He– liam flew all the way to rome and then he came back without saying a word to you? ‘Cause he saw you in the colosseum kissing thomas?

Ridge: Thomas.

Ridge: You know what these are?

Ridge: These are the orders from rome. Lots of orders from rome. Your commitment to hope for the future really paid off. Proud of you.

Thomas: Thank you.

Ridge: Hope’s gotta feel pretty good about the choice she made.

Thomas: What do you mean?

Ridge: Asking you to come back to work. It couldn’t have been easy for her knowing how liam feels about you. But I gotta say, even liam’s gotta agree that this was the right thing after everything that happened with you and hope in rome. You’re important to her. Made a big impact in her life.

Hope: I have a feeling liam will leave me because of this.

Rj: No, come on.

Hope: Really? I mean, he has. He’s already– he’s gone and I don’t know if or when he’s ever going to come back, so–

Brooke: Hope, I was wondering– oh!

Steffy: Look, when you kissed me before, as– as crazy as that was, I was willing to forgive it, understand it. You were extremely upset. You saw hope and thomas kissing and you reacted impulsively. That I could let go. I could pretend like it never happened. I was hoping that we would never talk about it again, but it looks like we do need to talk about it.

Liam: No, I– I know. I– you’re right. I– I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have done that. I– I don’t know what’s wrong with me, but it doesn’t solve anything. And you– you’re– you’re happily married like you said. You have a family that you love.

Steffy: Okay. Okay. Whatever this is, you need to snap out of it because this could never, ever happen again. Hey, dad. I got an a on my book report.

Ridge: Could you have imagined that a year ago, a year ago, could you have imagined that a month ago, you and hope would be doing what you did in rome?

Thomas: I used to think about it a lot. What we could achieve. You know, it’s hard to think that it actually happened.

Brooke: Hope, this doesn’t make sense. What reason would liam have to leave you? He adores you and he loves his family very much.

Hope: Oh, I know. I know that, mom. And that’s just making it even harder.

Brooke: Okay. Why don’t you just tell me what happened?

Hope: Rome happened.

Brooke: Rome was a success.

Brooke: But liam should be very proud of you, honey. What happened in rome that would make him wanna walk out on you? I mean, he wasn’t even there.

Hope: He– he was actually.

Brooke: What?

Hope: Yeah, he came and he wanted to surprise me.

Brooke: Oh, I didn’t see him there.

Rj: Just tell her. She’s not gonna judge you.

Brooke: Hope?

Hope: No, I– I never saw liam either, but I guess he– he saw me. With thomas.

Brooke: With thomas? What does he have to do with this? Oh, okay. What did thomas do now?

Steffy: We have both moved on, both remarried. I am in a relationship, one where I feel safe, loved and respected.

Liam: I don’T. I haven’t felt that way in a long time and hope never respected my wishes about her working with a damn maniac no offense.

Steffy: Offense taken. Please do not insult my brother. He has worked really hard on himself.

Liam: Okay. You’re right. I’m sorry. But honestly, how many times has thomas insulted me? How many times has he trashed me? How many times has– how many different ways has he targeted me and my marriage and my family? How much pain and suffering has he caused? How– how could hope stand to be anywhere near that? Let alone wanna– wanna touch him and kiss him. Thomas? Really? Your brother? Really? How– how could she want that? How?

Steffy: I don’t know. I– I really don’t know what to say, what I can do to comfort you, but it’s definitely not with this kiss, that I do know. I understand that you’re hurt and you feel betrayed, but that doesn’t justify turning to me. Look, I– I wanna help you through this and I will help you through this. Liam… look, I believe that you and hope will find your way back to each other. I really do. Or not. Either way, you can’t just come here and kiss me. Look, we’re always gonna be close. We’re kelly’s parents. But that is all.

Liam: Yeah.

Thomas: Well, if that is not a sign that I have changed, I don’t know what is.

Ridge: I know this isn’t easy for you, not easy for your sister, and I know it’s not easy for your mom, but I’m trying. At least hope is in a good place. It’s a start.

Brooke: Ah! I knew it. I knew thomas would be a problem. I mean, all this talk of bettering himself and working so hard to make himself a better person, going to therapy, that was all a lie. What did he do? What did he do to make liam wanna walk out on you?

Hope: He didn’t do anything, mom. It was me.

Brooke: What could you have done, sweetie?

Hope: Well, uh…

[ Chuckling ] You called it. You know, you saw it coming a million miles away that there’s just something in me, I guess, that makes me want to cross that line and I, um, I kissed the one man that could destroy everything.

[ Brooke sighing ]

Brooke: So, you kissed thomas.

Steffy: Liam, I know you don’t wanna hear this, but you gotta forgive hope. I’m not saying it’s gonna be easy. It isn’T. But you and hope have a beautiful family and you need to think about beth.

Liam: Was hope thinking about beth when she was sticking her tongue down your brother’s throat?

Steffy: Okay. Liam, you gotta figure out a way to get through this pain and forgive her.

Liam: Yeah, but I can’t, so.

Steffy: People make mistakes. We both know that.

Liam: Yeah. No, I know that. I’ve made plenty.

Steffy: Mistakes hope’s forgiven you for.

Liam: Yeah. Well, maybe she’s a better person than I am. I don’t know. But looking forward, how am I supposed to exist with thomas as a constant presence in my life and my marriage after this? And it’s not just co-parenting douglas, it’s working together with hope on the line. It’s–

Steffy: Maybe that changes. Maybe hope leaves forrester creations and thomas takes over and she can focus on your marriage and prove that she’s committed to you.

Liam: Steffy, hope is not gonna do that. And even if she did, I don’t know how it would work. I don’t know how I’d be able to trust. It– it’s just– it’s– it’s too painful given everything that thomas has done. And for her to still want to– uh, I just– I can’T. I’m done. I’m done. But I– but I didn’t mean to upset you and I am really sorry for my behavior. Kayaking is my thing.

Thomas: We are in rome.

Hope: Mom, thomas didn’t do anything. It was me. I was the one who kissed someone that I never should have. I was the one who acted irresponsibly, recklessly– [ Chuckling ] Inappropriately. I mean, that’s me, right? That’s who I’ve become now. Turning to a man that I should be disgusted by.

Brooke: Honey, is this what you want? You want a life with thomas?

Hope: No. No. I want– I want my husband. I want our life together. I want– I love him. I love our kids and I don’t know why– why I would risk losing everything. I mean, I am not proud of this, mom. I take full responsibility. This is on me and I am ashamed and I am embarrassed by it.

[ Voice breaking ] And I want more than anything to just save my marriage. I don’t wanna lose it. I don’t want to give up on it. And I don’t wanna give up on liam.

Liam: I really do mean it, steffy. I’m– I’m sorry I did that.

Steffy: I’m glad to hear that because if you think there was ever a chance that I would leave finn and go back to you… I’m married and so are you.

Liam: Not for much longer.

Steffy: Well, I’m– I’m sorry about that. I truly am, but I like my life and my marriage and I’m not changing that for anything. So my advice, go back to hope. She asked for forgiveness, right?

Liam: Yeah, she did.

Being at the hospital with me must have been difficult, but it, it meant a lot to me. I’m glad I could be there. Not as glad as I am.

Steffy firmly tells Liam that he can’t show up at her home and kiss her, emphasizing that she is happily married and demands respect. Liam expresses confusion about his own actions and admits to feeling disconnected from Hope and his marriage. Steffy urges him to snap out of it and reminds him of their past and current relationships.

At the cabin, Hope confides in R.J. that she believes Liam will leave her. Brooke enters and senses something is wrong, prompting Hope to reveal that Liam saw her kissing Thomas in Rome. Brooke initially blames Thomas but quickly learns that it was Hope’s own initiative. Hope breaks down, questioning her actions and expressing her love for Liam.

Meanwhile, at Forrester Creations, Ridge commends Thomas on the success of the line and praises his commitment to working with Hope. Ridge reflects on Thomas’ growth and his gratitude that Thomas has moved on from his obsession. Alone in the office, Thomas reflects on the kiss and looks at a photo of Hope.

Kate texts Harris to find out what’s going on with Megan. Li had Harris’ phone and texted Kate. He told her that everything was going as scheduled. She wanted to have a drink with him, but he couldn’t make it. Chad and Stephanie showed up. They wanted to check on her before they went to Megan’s party for Gabi and Stefan. Kate was suspicious that Megan would be having an engagement party while she’s on a secret location with Harris. Eric tried to assure Nicole that she would be fine. She was afraid that she was miscarrying again. He tried to comfort her, but she didn’t deserve his kindness. She thought she was being punished for what she did to Jada. Eric told her that God wouldn’t do that to her. He assured her that God cares about and will help her. The doctor examined her and told her that everything was fine. Gwen was getting ready for the party and got into it with Leo. He kept telling her about Dimitri’s motives for proposing. She thought Dimitri was being sincere. She thought Leo was jealous because he’s still single. He was hurt by that, but he thought she might be right. He thought Dimitri was up to something and planned to search the DiMera mansion while everyone was at the party.

Rolf finished the procedure on Harris. He gave Megan a serum to inject into EJ and Kristen. The serum would make them forget about her confession about her plans for Stefan and kidnapping them. Harris woke up so Rolf gave him the instructions he needed for the night. He sent him on his way. Rolf assured Li that everything will go according to the plan. EJ and Kristen yell for help, but no one hears them. Kristen thought Megan was going to kill them. EJ didn’t think she would do that. He thought she would have done it by now. Megan went down to the cellar to inject Kristen and EJ with the serum. Megan left them in the cellar. Leo showed up at the mansion and found EJ and Kristen in the cellar. Their memories started to fade away from them after he arrived in the cellar. Kate tried to call Harris’ phone, but he didn’t answer it. She decided to go to the Bistro to find out what’s going on with him. She was upset when she saw Megan in the town square. She realized that Harris didn’t complete their mission. Everyone gathered for Stefan and Gabi’s engagement party. Megan arrived with a bottle of champagne. She gave a speech about the family when Harris arrived. He pulled out a gun.
