THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

[ Siren wailing ] It’s so frustrating! That’s four days with nothing.

[ Sighs ] I wouldn’t say nothing, darling. We now know the building in question is victor’s stronghold. Yeah, but there’s no feasible way in. And to add insult to impenetrability, we don’t even know that that’s exactly where lucy’s being held. The whole damn thing is just a giant waste of time.

[ Sighs ] Well, look on the bright side. There’s a bright side? Yeah. We’re in paris, and we’re together. That’s from wiley. And also… he sent a kiss for his little sister. How is our little smoocher doing? He’s fine. He’s just worried about his mama. I hate that I just collapsed in front of him. He must have been so scared. You know what? I’m sure he’s gonna feel a lot better the moment that he meets his little sister. Did you tell wiley the baby’s coming early? Not yet. But I-I do think we need to fill him in. Make him part of bringing the baby home so he doesn’t feel left out. I agree. We’ll do all of that… when the baby comes. Right. Which — which — which has to happen before you can receive the bone marrow transplant. So if nina does turn out to be a match… nina. …Then you can be induced as soon as tomorrow. I could… …except I’m not willing to do that. What — what — what are you saying? I don’t want to deliver early. I want the baby to come when she’s ready. Even if it costs you your life? Morning, richie. Don’t worry. It’s just me. I promise you, we will not be disturbed. Oh! Alone at last. Do I have to? I’ve been cuffed so long, my wrist is sore. Sorry. Those are my instructions. Can’t you just wait until my lawyer gets here? You can put them on me when the two of you escort me to court for my hearing.

[ Knock on door ] Hey, maybe that’s your lawyer now. Oh, don’t you look lovely, my dear. And so good to see you up and about. Who are you? Hmm? Oh, right. Uh, you can call me uncle victor. I can’t believe willow has been battling leukemia all this time and didn’t tell anyone. I get it. Illness is a deeply private thing. Fair enough. Anyway, now we know, which means we can be here for willow and michael. Right? Right. Nina reeves. Listen, I need to confirm that I am a bone marrow donor match with willow tait. I have no idea why it’s taking so long. It was a cheek swab for a preliminary screening. Okay, then can you put me on a, I don’t know, a priority list? I’m trying to save my — if you could just call me when you get the results, I would appreciate it. Thank you very much. Thank you for pulling me off the ledge. I’m glad I could help. Well, what — what time did you get to bed? Like 4:30-ish. I’m not sure. My mind is just racing. I have a daughter! I have a daughter! Willow is my daughter. Nelle had a twin. I have another chance at being a mother. That’s great. I’m — I’m happy for you. And my bone marrow… is gonna save her.

[ Coughing/sneezing ]

[ Door knocking ]

Valentin: I think this might help. Oh, god. Thank you so much.

De rien. Mm. What are you hoping to learn by looking at the map again? Just looking for something that we might have missed. Okay, so let’s run it one more time. Well, the building is under constant surveillance. 24 hours. Naturally. And the shifts are staggered, which means that no two posts change guard at the same time. There’s always someone on watch. Right. So that means that we can’t attach ourselves to an arriving group and just slip inside. I don’t think we’ve exhausted all our options. No? You don’t? Well, there’s always a variable, a fatal flaw. So we’ll find a weakness in victor’s defenses, and we’ll exploit them. And go in and rescue lucy. And she’ll more than likely be unharmed. Oh, god.

[ Sighs ] Ohh. That’s supposed to make me feel better but it doesn’t, because I got her involved in this. And if anything happens to her… sir, you can’t be in here. Well, I assure you, I have no ill intent. I have to ask you to leave. Officer, um, I know it’s against procedure or whatever, but as you know, I have no memory of who I am or what I’ve done. And this man may have some answers that could help me. So if you could just… give us a few minutes, please? Two minutes, but the door stays open. Thank you. Well played, esme. I wasn’t playing him. I just told him what I wanted. So, um, you’re my uncle? No one told me I had family. Well, perhaps my introduction was a bit misleading. My name is victor cassadine, and you are carrying the next cassadine heir. So you’re here for the baby, not me. Well, right now, the two of you are more than a bit inseparable. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. Apparently, I’m not a very good person. Apparently. So your memory is still a blank? It’s not gonna make it ring any faster, nina. Yeah, I know. I just can’t help it. I can’t help it because I just — sonny, I just feel like this amazing gift has been dropped in my lap, and it can all go away just as quickly. I have… hey. I have a daughter. I have a daughter. One that I didn’t know about. She’s in the hospital fighting for her life — a life that she doesn’t want me to be a part of. But my bone marrow is gonna save her. My bone marrow is gonna save her. Nina, nina, listen to me, okay? Willow is as thrown by this news as you are. Everybody’s just trying to wrap their head around, you know, you being willow’s mother. Except for carly. Because she’s known for months, almost a year. She didn’t tell us. She just sat and watched willow and i tear into each other about wiley, and she didn’t say a word. I will never forgive that. Dr. Randolph has been very clear that you have to deliver the baby before you can receive the transplant. And you need the transplant to live. Yes. She has been very clear. Willow, you’re eight months pregnant. You’re far enough along that — that the baby — having it now will pose minimal risk. Premature babies can have health problems that affect their entire lives. I’m stable right now. If we wait another week or two, it can make all the difference in the quality of our daughter’s life. The longer you wait, the more the leukemia will progress and the less likely that — that the transplant will work. Come on, please, willow.

[ Sighs ] I don’t want to risk your life any more than we already have. You mean more than I already have. No, “we.” Always, always we. Look, I don’t want our children to grow up without a mother. I don’t even want to imagine life without you.

Someone’s feeling frisky this morning. Our daughter is still in police custody. And I told you that I would take care of that. What are you so nervous about? As soon as someone else gets hooked while esme’s still in custody, the cops will have to let her go. And yet no one has died since she’s been arrested. What’s the hold up? Well, I may have had a little snag. Just a teeny, weeny bump in the road. My favorite friendly security guard, dietrich, got fired for stealing. You’ve got to be kidding. I know, right? Good help is hard to find these days. The point is, I no longer have easy access in and out of spring ridge right now. Bummer! Yeah. Look, the only reason I know my own name is because someone told it to me. And now I could go to prison for something that I don’t even know if I did or not. Well, what does your attorney have to say about your potential incarceration? Mr. Grey says that if I can remember where I’ve been the past few months, then I might be able to prove that I’m not the killer. But given that everything people say I did, I’m starting to think that it might be better if I never remember who I used to be. I mean… revenge porn? Oh, well, I’m not one to judge. I don’t know. That seems pretty judge-worthy. The sooner you stop caring about what other people think, my dear, the freer you and your conscience will be. Right. Well, um… I think our two minutes are up. So if there’s anything specific you wanted to ask me… no, I’m — I’m only here because I’m worried about you. You mean the baby. Well, you, the baby, the future. What are your plans once you leave this hospital? My immediate plans are going to court and then…who knows? I’m just hoping that I won’t end up in prison. Well, mr. Cassadine, you’re here. I shall have a talk with my sister, the mayor, about that. Esme, is this man bothering you? Not at all, um… so are we headed to the courthouse now or…? No, not yet. I thought we’d have a moment to strategize before your arraignment. I wonder, mr. Grey, how much strategy is actually required to get a pregnant woman with amnesia out on bail? The police think I’ve killed three people. Yes, I know. Indeed they do. But they have no physical evidence tying you to any of those crimes, esme. Isn’t that right, mr. Grey? Mr. Cassadine, I’d like a word in the hall with you alone, if I may. Esme, I’ll be right back. I’ll be in touch, my dear. Mr. Cassadine, what do you want? I am merely looking out for my family, mr. Grey. Esme is the mother of my great niece or nephew. And as such, I want to do anything I can to help her. Well, if that’s the case, then why don’t you just stay away? Because the last thing my client needs right now is to be seen in the company of an unrepentant sociopath such as yourself. You are forgetting yourself, mr. Grey. Well, you’re just gonna have to forgive me. Fact is, I might remember my manners better if I wasn’t worried sick about my poor lucy. Actually, between you and me, I’m concerned I might not be doing my best by my clients because I haven’t been able to think straight since lucy disappeared. You mean since anna devane shot lucy. Well, no, that’s the thing, isn’t it? They never did find lucy’s body. Just like your nephew. Twice. Imagine that. And while hope remains alive, the uncertainty that I may never see lucy again — well, that does no one any good, does it? Least of all, my clients. Why don’t you speak plainly, mr. Grey? How do you think the fate of the unfortunate ms. Coe has anything to do with esme prince, hmm? I’m afraid if I can’t focus on esme’s case, that poor girl is gonna wind up having her baby behind bars… in pentonville. I knew carly hated me. But even at her worst, I didn’t think that she was capable of doing this to me again, that she could keep me from — not once but twice — my children, sonny. First nelle, then — then willow. I am mad as hell at carly right now because I don’t care what she felt about you, she had no right to hide the fact that you’re willow’s mother. I’m beyond mad. I didn’t think anything could hurt as much as finding out that nelle was my daughter only after she was dead. But this… to knowingly keep me… from my living daughter. She sat by and watched me and willow turn our relationship into this toxic thing. She didn’t say anything. She didn’t say anything. And then I heard willow say… that this doesn’t change anything between us. Do you understand it just rips my heart out of my body? She just… sit down. Come here. She said that she thinks so little of me, sonny, that she wanted to know what I wanted in return for my bone marrow. I’d give her my life. Listen. Okay? Willow now has to figure out what’s going on. But things would’ve been different… yeah. …If we knew that we were mother and child, she was my daughter. If carly would have told me, I wouldn’t have ever acted that way. I wouldn’t have pushed so hard to try to get wiley. It just would have happened. What if by me trying so desperately to hold on to my grandson… …what if that’s what makes me lose wiley… and willow? And the baby. We’re gonna get through this. You understand me?

[ Sobbing ] Mr. Corinthos, how can I help you? I need to talk to dr. Randolph right now. She’s in a consultation right now, but I’ll tell her the moment she’s available. Thanks. Mm-hmm. There he is. Hey, chase, sasha. How are you doing? You hanging in there? I’m trying. Michael, did something happen with willow? Has she gotten worse? No, no, she’s — she’s stable. Oh, thank god. No, the biggest danger that willow’s facing right now is herself. What do you mean? I know — I know I shouldn’t be arguing with willow right now, that she needs to save her strength to fight this thing. But she is not listening to reason. You know, why don’t you and i go for a walk? Get some fresh air. Yeah. Yeah. You two go do that, and I’ll go sit with willow. I don’t want to leave. Then maybe just a lap around the floor, get the blood pumping. Okay, yeah, I can do that. Call me if you — if anything, you know, happens. Promise. I know your dad is worried… about both of us. But I promise you, sweetheart, I’m going to protect you as long as I possibly can. And I will always, always put you first.

You’re making a not so subtle threat to undermine your own client’s case in return for a little quid pro quo. Mr. Cassadine, that is an appalling insinuation. I would never. Well, I was hoping you’d say that. The point I’m making is that sooner or later, everybody’s luck runs out. And when they find lucy, the wsb is gonna know exactly what happened to her that night on the docks. Oh, I’m sure they will… if they find her. Well, here’s hoping. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I really must be getting to court. You know, there’s one thing we can agree on, mr. Cassadine. It behooves us all to do everything we can to see justice served. Mm. I’m sorry you were without charlotte for christmas. Yeah. That hurt. Yeah. But we were able to get a message to laura on christmas day, so charlotte knows that I’m all right. I’m grateful for that. I think laura’s changing her opinion of you. No, I wouldn’t say that. I think she’s tolerating me for charlotte’s sake. And that’s a victory in itself. I feel it’s more than that. I think that she’s — she’s giving you credit for good intentions. Well, let’s not go crazy.

[ Knock on door ] You expecting someone? I don’t know.

[ Speaks french ]

[ Speaks french ]

Bonjour.

Bonjour, madame.

Bonjour.

[ Gasps ] Lucy. Lucy. Can I come in? Yes, please. Have you seen michael? He’s with chase. I’m glad someone he has someone to talk to. So I…assume you know. I know about the leukemia, and I know that you delayed treatment because of your pregnancy. I think it was a brave choice. I would have done anything to save liam if I could. I knew you’d understand. But michael doesn’t? Michael: I mean, you know willow. She’s always putting everyone else’s needs before her own. Yeah, I remember. And now we have a potential donor. You do? That’s great. Yeah. Yeah. If it doesn’t fall through, like the last one. And if willow doesn’t delay the transplant for too long. You know how relatives are supposed to make the best donors? Well, I’ve been searching for my birth mother. Oh, my god. You found her? We did. Right here in port charles. How is that not good news? According to a dna test, my birth mother… is nina. I just, uh, want you to know things aren’t as bad as it seems. Optimism looks really good on you. The lab is gonna call you and tell you that you’re a viable donor for willow. The transplant is gonna save her life. And when she’s healthy, she’s gonna realize that… …she deserves you for a mother. You can’t promise that. Oh, yes, I can. Really? How? Well, because last night, I talked to michael, and he opened up a little bit. I mean, not like it used to be, but it’s [Sighs] More than we’ve talked in a whole year. That’s wonderful. And I saw the son that I thought that I had lost forever. And — and there’s something I realized. That… as long as there’s life… …there’s always hope.

Nina… the most selfish, vindictive, manipulative person I know, the woman I fought to keep from wiley. That’s my mom. I know that you and nina don’t get along. “Don’t get along”? Sasha, that woman hated me from the moment we met. In fact, she hated me before she walked into my classroom. When I was charlotte’s teacher, she was convinced I had it in for charlotte. She would not accept that charlotte was acting out. Nina is very protective of the people she loves. Nina is toxic. It is literally horrifying to think that we are related. I was better off with harmony.

[ Chuckles ] Willow… are you thinking of refusing the transplant because nina is the donor? Esme going to prison wasn’t part of my plan. Well, good, because that would have been a terrible plan. I need her free. If my daughter can’t — our daughter. If our daughter can’t move without police surveillance, then how was she supposed to help me reunite with ava? Ava?! I don’t give a damn about ava! I am not doing this for ava! I am doing this for me and my baby girl. My steven lars was ripped of my arms when he was a child! Franco had to grow up without me. Esme is my last chance. Then don’t blow it. Stab someone. Anyone. As long as esme’s alibi is unshakable. And make sure you include details that only the police would know. We don’t want them to think that there’s a copycat. Don’t tell me how to do my job. I’ve waited my whole life to have a relationship with my daughter, with my esme. No, you haven’T. And now that I’m this close, just within touching distance of her, you really think I’m gonna let the cops lock her away somewhere where I don’t get a chance to see her? And what about her baby? Prison is no place for a child. That’s our grandchild. Yes, better to leave the baby on the doorstep of some convent. Oh, come on. I did the best I could. And it’s no fair anyway. You’ve already gotten a chance to see her. You’ve gotten a chance to spend time with her. I’ve never even had a chance to speak with her. She probably doesn’t even know my name. She doesn’T. She will, and I will be a part of her life. Dream big or go home. Oh, ryan! I’ve lived this long without my daughter, just wondering where she is, just waiting for a glimpse of my baby girl. And now we’re back in fantasyland. You mark my words. I will set my daughter free if it is the last thing I do. Great! How?

[ Exhales sharply ] The only way I can… by busting out of here. You know, sonny, I hated my mother. I was convinced that she was cruel and self-absorbed. You’re two for two. Yeah, I was just an extension of herself. Then I have to ask myself, what if willow describes me that way — cruel… and self-absorbed? She’d be wrong. Maybe she’s not. You know, I don’t — I don’t know your mother too well, but it’s pretty obvious she didn’t understand love and family. Well, she had a firm grasp of inheritance law. When your mother took your children away from you, she broke you. Just like deke broke me. We have a hole inside of us. Our souls were ripped out from people we thought that we could trust. You’ve hurt people, right? Yeah, I’ve hurt people. That’s because we feel too much. We love too much. We fight too hard… …because we react quickly. We drive the people we love away. We’re too much. Well, you’re not too much for me. Well, you’re not too much for me either.

[ Laughing ]

[ Laughs ]

Merci.

Au revoir.

Au revoir. Ahh. That, by the way, was the son of one of victor’s bodyguards. I gathered. God. Could espionage be any more adorable? Okay, so now we know lucy is in the building. She’s still fighting. As long as there’s breath in her body, there’s two things she’ll never do — shut up or give up. And we’re certainly not giving up on lucy. No. So what do we do? Alright. So we can’t go in the front way because there’s too much foot traffic. And we can’t go in the back way because there are too many cameras and motion sensors. So, we… so… we parkour across the rooftops and rappel from above? No. Maybe we perform a reverse shawshank and pop up from the sewers? Not the sewers. The catacombs. Nina claims there are no strings attached. You don’t believe her? How can I? Let’s — let’s just say it all works out. Nina’s bone marrow saves my life. You don’t think she would try to leverage that into time with wiley or my daughter? So even after all this, the kids will still be off limits to nina? Nina is still the same person she was when she dragged me and michael into court seeking visitation with wiley, the same person who badgered and manipulated, who tried to convince michael I was having an affair with tj. Willow, she could also be your best chance at survival. I won’t refuse the transplant because of nina. I just want to wait as long as possible to give my daughter the best chance at a healthy life. And I would expect nothing less from my friend. Your guard/doorman got himself canned for stealing. How do you expect to get out without his help? Oh. Getting out’s easy. It’s getting back in that’s the tricky part. Are you saying you could leave here any time you want? Absolutely. How? With this. Oh.

[ Laughing ] Nice craftsmanship. Sometimes you say the sweetest things. Here’s what I’m gonna do. Okay. I’m gonna take a guard hostage, break out. I will hook that smug little josslyn jacks once and for all. And esme’s exonerated. And then she and the baby and i can go on the run together. Oh, that’s good. And what about me? Well, I don’t know. You can come if you want, I suppose. But we’re leaving now. You mean today? Yeah. Why not? Because, heather, we need a real plan, not just stab and run. Oh, unclench, will you? Loosen up. Improvise. Live in the moment. I don’t think you’ve thought this through. You know what? Okay, fine. I’ll do the hard work. I’m used to it. Don’t worry, handsome. We’ll send you a postcard. Oh. Nina is willow’s mom? Yeah. Yeah. Wow. I can see how that would be a lot to deal with. Nina’s been a wrecking ball for willow from the get-go. Okay, but now that nina’s lost her case to get visitation with wiley, things have calmed down, right? Look, nina accused willow of cheating… on me with tj. Because in her eyes, comforting a friend who has cancer and cheating are too — too impossible to tell apart. Alright. Um, I don’t even know what to say to that. I mean, willow — willow is the most generous, open-hearted person in the world and she despises nina. Now, how bad do you have to be for willow to hate you? I mean, nina — she — she wants things, but she doesn’t want to earn them. And she has no idea what’s best for wiley. Do you think that maybe willow is willing to risk her own life for her daughter’s sake to prove that she’s not like nina? I don’t know. I don’t think that’s it. I mean, willow always puts everyone else’s needs before her own, right? I mean, she was even willing to go to jail to protect wiley from shiloh. I mean, her loyalty is one of the things I love the most about her and it’S… it’s why her family needs her.

oh, god. Well, there’s another brilliant idea just shot to hell because victor’s stronghold is not accessible by the catacombs. Now, hold on, hold on. I mean, that might be all the official data, but there are plenty of catacombs that are left unmapped. There might be one or two that lead directly where we want to go. Oh, so what are we supposed to do? Just find an underground passage that may or may not be structurally sound, explore it blindly, and hope that it winds up in the basement of victor’s fancy parisian fortress? No. No? We don’t have to do it ourselves. There are plenty of people that have already done so. Illegally. Unofficially. Okay. And as it happens, I just might know somebody. Why am I not surprised? But you are impressed, though, right, because otherwise, why am I doing this? No, I’m very impressed. You’re very impressive. In fact, I think you’re amazing. Let’s go get lucy out of there. Gavin. How’s our guest? Any sign of trouble? Good. Well, stay alert and double security. I haven’t been able to locate anna or valentin, and they just might be headed your way.

[ Footsteps approaching ] When I first came to town, I was pretending to be nina’s daughter, which makes me your fake sister.

[ Both laughing ] Finally, a little good news. Uh-oh. What are you two up to? I’ll let willow fill you in. Anytime you want to talk… back at you. That goes for you, too. I know. You’re back. Yeah. Here I am. You okay? I’m sorry for arguing with you. Sorry for arguing with you like that. I’m sorry, too… for letting you think that I abandoned our family. I promise you… I do not want to die. I know. And I-I know it’s ultimately up to you to decide if you want to delay the birth, so… thank you for saying that… because I have thought about it. And if dr. Randolph says it’s too risky to delay the transplant, then, yes, we can bring our daughter into the world a little early. Thank god. I love you. I love you, too. Of course, none of this matters if nina’s not a match. Sonny. I’m a potential donor match. I told you there’s still hope. You couldn’t resist saying “I told you so,” could you? No, ’cause I like to be right. So what do you want to do? You want to go? You want to… well, I have to go to — I have to go to gh and get a blood test. I’m one step closer to saving my daughter’s life. Do you want me to go with you? I wouldn’t have it any other way. Ohh… what would I do without you? You’re not gonna have to find out.

Katie: You could stop this right now.

Sheila: Now, why would he want to do that?

Katie: She’s done something to you. I can see that. You don’t have to let her hold you hostage.

Sheila: He’s with me of his own free will.

Katie: I don’t know why you’re blackmailing steffy and finn. I don’t know why. I don’t need to know why. But they’re terrified. They won’t testify against her because of your threats. And I don’t understand why you would do that, why you would use all of your power and your influence to defend her. To do what? To keep her out of prison because you’re in some kind of relationship. It’s just crazy. It’s ludicrous. I don’t believe it. I will never accept it.

Sheila: You don’t have a choice.

Katie: This is not the kind of man you want to be. This is not the man I fell in love with. This is not the father, the good father that I know. You’re letting her walk all over you. Why? Stop it. Snap out of it, bill.

Finn: Ever since sheila has come into our lives, it’s just been one nightmare after another.

Steffy: No. She’s not giving up. And now she’s free. Bill’s blackmailing us. When will this ever end?

Finn: I don’t know. But I’ll tell you one thing. I will not let her anywhere near us or the kids. Sheila is done hurting our family.

[Knocking]

Liam: Yo, hello? Hey.

Steffy: Hey.

Uh, can we–

> Finn: Yeah, yeah, come in.

Hope: We just spoke to my mom, and apparently sheila’s been set free.

Liam: What the hell? How does that happen?

Hope: You had your meeting with the gentleman.

Liam: Weren’t you going to explain how sheila shot you and left you for dead?

Hope: So what happened? Was there some kind of mix up?

Finn: No.

Steffy: We wish.

Liam: Okay, so you did meet with the judge.

Finn: We were right there in his chambers.

Hope: And what, he didn’t believe you? I mean, sheila shot you both.

Liam: How does she get set free after that? What the hell happened?

Steffy: Your father happened.

Katie: This is not okay, and you know it. But you can fix it. You can fix it. Just pick up the phone and call the police. You’ve got to get her back into custody.

Sheila: Who do you think set me free?

Katie: Shut up. This is between bill and me. I know him better than anybody, and this is not you. You’re not blind. You’re not. You know, deep down, how messed up this is. You know about her, what she’s done, the horrible, horrific crimes that she’s committed. Come on, bill. Think about will, okay? Think about– think about your grandchild. Think about kelly. This woman– this woman was gonna leave her motherless. This woman was gonna take her mother away from her. She was going to let steffy bleed out in that alley. Steffy, who I know you care about. That’s who she is. You have vowed to protect your family. You do. That’s who you are. That’s who we need you to be right now. We need you to stand up and to protect us. Please. Protect us from sheila. (Music throughout)

Liam: Wait. Hold on a second. So… my dad is siding with sheila and blackmailing you?

Steffy: My mom’s freedom for sheila’s freedom.

Liam: He promised he would never say a word, that he would never go to the police.

Steffy: The most shameful night of my mom’s life. You know how much she regrets that night. Losing control and going over bill’s house.

Liam: You don’t have to explain to us. We were all there. We all went through it. It’s a traumatizing experience for everyone involved. And I know we all tried to move on from that.

Finn: There’s only a few people who know it was taylor who shot bill.

Hope: And so what, now he’s just trying to throw it back in your face?

Finn: You can see why we had to say silent about sheila.

Hope: As much as I hate sheila and… I want her to pay for her crimes, I just couldn’t risk my mom’s freedom.

Liam: Hey, no, we all get that. But, like, what about all the other stuff sheila did, all the other charges? She escaped from prison, for god’s sake.

Finn: Judge mcmullen, he concocted some wild story on how mike guthrie forced sheila to escape prison against her will.

Liam: What? That’s absurd. Why would he do that?

Finn: Your father.

Hope: Do you think he put the judge up to it?

Finn: There’s no doubt

Teffy: Bill has a judge in his pocket.

Liam: Oh, my god. Oh, my god.

Hope: Okay, well, does taylor know about any of this?

Steffy: Yes. I had to tell her. My mom wanted to do the honorable thing and turn herself in, but I begged her not to do it.

Finn: Especially since bill will just bribe whoever it takes to make sure sheila stays out of prison.

Liam: But why? What is the motivation for that? My dad hates sheila carter. He’s never said a single nice thing about her.

Steffy: There’s nothing nice about her. The only thing that’s good about her is that she gave birth to finn.

Hope: Well, exactly. So then why would bill back sheila?

Steffy: Bill and sheila are involved.

[Scoffing]

Katie: I know how important your family is to you. That’s what this is about. The sword, it’S… it’s about family. Protecting your family, the people you love. And that’s what we need you to do right now. We need you to protect us from a sociopath.

Bill: I would never let anything happen to my kids.

Katie: You need protection, too. You do, because she’s poison. She’s toxic. And I know you feel misunderstood and you feel rejected by me and by brooke and by everyone, but… but you, you are bill spencer. You are brave and you are smart and you are strong, and you know how to love. You know how to love. I know you do, because you loved me once. And I know how much you love your children and your grandchildren. I know it. She can’t give you that, bill. She can’t love. She will destroy everything you care about. She will destroy everything that’s good inside of you. Don’t let her do it. Don’t sink down into the sewer with her.

Sheila: You know what? I can take a verbal beating with the best of them, and I have stood by patiently and listened to you insult me. You’re wasting your time, katie. There is nothing that you can say. And quite honestly, I mean, you have no right telling him who he can and can’t be with. Bill has already expressed himself. He said he loves me. And I love him. We are building a future together.

Katie: The only future you have is behind bars. They will lock you up for shooting steffy and finn, and they will lock you up for almost killing li. And they will lock you up for escaping from prison. You will finally pay for all of your crimes. And you know I’m right. Tell her. Say something. Tell her I’m right.

If you have this…

Liam: Involved? Like… like in a relationship?

Steffy: Yes. We saw them kiss.

Liam: They’re, like, um…

Hope: Together.

Finn: Yeah. Yeah, I… I know it’s hard to believe.

[Stammering]

Liam: My dad and sheila carter.

Steffy: Yeah, they’re like, uh…

Hope: Okay. I don’t know what’s gotten into bill’s head. Clearly, he is not doing okay.

Liam: Not doing– not doing okay? He’s lost his damn mind is what happened.

Hope: Well, bill has made some questionable choices in the past. But this? Sheila?

Steffy: I talked to bill. I did. I talked to bill, and I asked him if someone was putting him in this position, if sheila was lording something over him, but he said no.

Liam: Wyatt and i were over at his place. Man… this was right before he turned sheila in. And we found a wig, and we found an earring. And when we knew that it was sheila’s, we thought that it was her who was targeting him. But instead, it’s– it’s– oh, god.

Steffy: Bill is totally swept up in sheila. He is completely oblivious

Hope: Of all the women in the world, bill falls for sheila? And now he’s extorting you so that her charges get dropped?

Liam: I gotta– I got to talk to him. I don’t know why he’s doing this.

Steffy: Katie’s over there now. We’re hoping that she’s able to get through to him somehow.

Katie: Bill, I hate seeing you do this to yourself.

Sheila: Now that he’s moved on, you suddenly give a damn?

Katie: He is the father of my son. We are family. I will always give a damn.

Sheila: Yeah, well, if that were true, he wouldn’t have been left in this house all alone. Huh? You wouldn’t have left when he didn’t morph into the man you wanted him to be.

Katie: Our marriage was built on love. That’s something you’ll never know.

Sheila: You’re his ex, his former wife, and you don’t get to tell him how to behave anymore. You don’t get to say that. No, especially… after you walked out on him again. He begged you, katie. He pleaded with you. He did everything right, and yet you still rejected him. You had your shot. It’s my time now. It’s our time. Mine and bill’S.

> Katie: Yours and bill’s? You’re crazy. You are crazy if you think you’re gonna have a life with him. You’re not gonna stay one more minute in this house.

Sheila: Oh, yes, I am.

Katie: Bill, listen to me, please. We are family, okay? No matter what, we are. This house, this house… this was our home. That’s where we raised our son. You remember. You remember he had– he had his first steps right over there, and we we’d have friday night movies, remember? We’d eat too much popcorn. And all those times where I tried to cook dinner, but we ended up ordering it instead. You remember that. I know you do. Because they’re beautiful memories. And please, please, god, don’t let her poison them.

Sheila: That’s ancient history. You had your shot and you blew it. You’re not a strong enough person for a powerful man like bill. You want to know why we’re such a good team?

Katie: You are not a team. She’s using you.

Sheila: Using him? Because it’s hard to believe that a woman could actually want him for the man that he is and not work day and night to try to change him? So let’s face it, katie… you’re his past. I’m the woman in his life. So why don’t you do us both a favor and leave? Skin your face will envy?

Hope: So my aunt katie is at bill’s?

Finn: And she’s not alone.

Steffy: Sheila’s there, too.

Hope: Is that safe? For her to be alone with bill and sheila?

Finn: She insisted on going by herself.

Steffy: Katie feels as though she can only reach out to bill more than anyone.

Liam: At least now I know why he’s been so closed off.

Hope: Just wait until my mother finds out about this.

Steffy: If bill continues to allow sheila to roam free, all of our lives are at risk, including our children. Katie understands what’s at stake. She has to come through for all of us.

Katie: I may not live here anymore… but this used to be my home, and it is still my son’s home. And you do not have a place here. Will is at boarding school, and you walked out ages ago. You left him alone. No support, no compassion, and you walked out on the greatest man in the world. So don’t stand there thinking that you can make demands.

Katie: Bill… I know you’re lonely. I know you’re hurting. I just didn’t realize how much. But I do now. I do. You don’t have to do this, okay? You don’t deserve this because you are loved. You are, you’re loved. You have a family who loves you, and she will never give you that. We are here for you. And I know that you will be there for us. You just have to get her out. You just have to tell her to go. She doesn’t belong here.

Sheila: This is no longer your home. You gave it up ages ago, just like you gave up bill. You have no right coming in here, telling me to leave. You’re the one that needs to leave, katie.

Katie: You won’t let her kick me out of this house. I know you won’T. Tell her. Tell her to get out. Think about our son. Think about will, how much he loves you, how much he idolizes you. He wants to be exactly like you. Well, how are you gonna explain this to him? How are you gonna explain her? He knows. He knows what she’s done.

Sheila: He’s going to have to get to know the real me and not listen to the gossip.

Katie: Oh, you are delusional if you think I’m gonna let my child anywhere near you. I will die first. And bill will not allow it either, because he knows. He knows, deep down, exactly what you are. Bill… bill, please. Please! I am begging you on everything that is right and just in this world. Make her go. Put her back in jail. Please, bill, please… tell her to get out of this house. Please.

Sheila: Okay. Now, you tell me to leave and I’ll leave.

Bill: I think you should leave, katie.

Katie: You don’t mean that.

Sheila: You heard him. You need to leave.

Katie: What’s happened to you?

Sheila: What’s happened to him? He’s finally found love. For the first time in his life.

[Sobbing]

[Door slamming] Hey… I know that that wasn’t easy. Thank you, though. I felt heard and understood. For the first time, I… I really felt wanted. And accepted. But most importantly, is… I feel loved. I feel truly loved.

Days of Our Lives Update

Days of Our Lives logo

Update written by Joseph

Brady is on the phone at the hospital with his son Tate, encouraging him about Marlena hanging in there. Brady thanks Tate for calling and tells him that he loves him. After he hangs up, Gabi arrives at the hospital and tells Brady that she needs to see Marlena now.

Li is in his hotel room, on the phone with his father. Li assures that he’s not proud of what he’s done but argues that he won’t go down for anything because the police can’t prove that he was working with Dr. Rolf and that’s how it’s going to stay. Li adds that his position as EJ’s second in command is completely in tact. Li acknowledges that he made an enemy of EJ’s brother Stefan, but assures that he can handle him. Li hangs up and then Stefan shows up at his door.

Stephanie lays on the couch at home in tears as she holds Kayla’s last note to her. Her brothers, Tripp and Joey then arrive and hug her.

Kristen comes downstairs at the DiMera Mansion as the doorbell rings. Kristen answers the door and is shocked to see Steve. Kristen tries to shut the door but he blocks it and chases her inside. Steve grabs Kristen and declares that it’s time for her to answer for what she did to Kayla.

Johnny comes downstairs at the Brady Pub and runs in to Wendy. Johnny hugs her and asks what brings her by. Wendy says she just came by for breakfast and thought he would be at the hospital. Johnny responds that he was there all night and just came by to check on Roman. Wendy is sure he appreciated that. Johnny says Roman lost his wife and his sister in the same day. Wendy calls it unimaginable and asks how Johnny is doing. Johnny claims he’s okay but Wendy notes that he doesn’t look okay and like he hasn’t slept. Johnny admits he doesn’t remember when he last ate. Wendy encourages him to take care of himself too. Johnny responds that he can’t stop thinking about Marlena. Wendy asks what the doctors are saying and if she made any improvement over night.

Brady tells Gabi that Marlena is in critical condition so visitation is strictly limited. Gabi argues that this is urgent and everything depends on it. Brady doesn’t understand. Gabi reminds Brady that he was at her wedding when she remembered Dr. Rolf telling her that Li brainwashed Stefan, and now Stefan wants it undone so she needs Marlena to make it happen. Brady questions this being about Gabi’s love life and asks if she’s out of her freaking mind.

Li tells Stefan that this might sound crazy but he’s glad he’s there as they have a lot to discuss. Li says that Stefan is clearly angry but he hopes they can be adults and hash this out with a conversation. Stefan doesn’t think so and responds by punching Li down.

Stephanie didn’t know Tripp and Joey were getting in so early or she would’ve picked them up. They assure it’s fine. Stephanie is glad they are both there as Steve really needs them all now. They ask where he is. Stephanie responds that he got up early and went out, so she thinks he just needs some time alone…

Kristen tells Steve that he doesn’t want to do this, that she feels for him and she’s so sorry about Kayla. Steve responds that sorry won’t bring his wife back. Steve argues that she knew those women would need boosters to survive and said nothing. Steve calls her a selfish pathetic psycho that couldn’t get Brady to love her, so she blackmailed him with three lives over his head while the virus was ticking away. Kristen argues that she did care but Steve shouts that she only cared about herself. Steve says if Kristen wasn’t so cold blooded and deranged then Marlena would be home while Kayla and Kate would be alive. Steve declares that Kristen took away the love of his life and the mother of his children, so now she needs to pay.

Stephanie tells Joey and Tripp that she’s never seen Steve like this before. She talks about Steve wanting to find a solution to make everything okay but he can’t this time. Joey says they have to take the stress off of Steve and let him know they will be okay. Joey says they will start as soon as Steve gets home. Tripp assures that he’s there for Steve but mentions that he also has to go see his mom since he’s all she has left and he can’t turn his back on her. Tripp says he won’t be long and then exits. Joey reads Stephanie’s note from Kayla. Stephanie cries that those were Kayla’s last words to her which Joey questions. Stephanie informs him that she didn’t get a chance to say goodbye to Kayla because someone robbed her of that chance.

Johnny tells Wendy that Marlena isn’t saying goodbye yet and is fighting with everything she has. Wendy encourages that she will win, reminding him that Marlena beat the Devil twice. Johnny acknowledges this is bad and that the doctors are trying but everything is experimental. Wendy tells him something will work. Johnny says that’s what he’s praying for. Johnny gets a text and says he has to go. Wendy tells him to go be with his family. Johnny remembers that last time he saw her, she was on her way to talk Gabi in to taking Li back and asks how that went. Wendy informs him that Stefan got there before her and told her everything, so Gabi tore in to her and threw her out. Johnny says at least she tried. Wendy states that Li and Gabi getting back together is not going to happen as there’s only one person Gabi wants to be with now.

Li guesses he deserves that punch but remarks that violence doesn’t seem like Stefan’s style. Stefan says it’s not but it felt extremely satisfying. Stefan tells him to relax as he won’t hit him again even though it’s tempting since it’s not every day you find out you were brainwashed. Li gets up and says if he tells anyone, he will deny it, but he’s sorry. Li explains that he was desperately in love with Gabi and terrified of losing her. Stefan acknowledges that love will have you do some crazy things and in Li’s case, it wasn’t just brainwashing but attempted murder. Stefan reveals that he knows Li turned off the machines that were keeping him alive. Stefan adds that he’s suddenly thinking maybe one punch wasn’t enough.

Gabi argues that this isn’t about her or her love life, but about Stefan. Brady tells her that he’s sorry but Stefan is not a priority right now. Gabi mocks him having no compassion for a brainwashed man and argues that Stefan wants his mind right after being brainwashed and she knows that Marlena would want to help him. Brady responds that what Marlena wants is to not die like the two women before her. Gabi doesn’t see the harm in just letting her ask. Brady can’t believe she’s serious since Marlena is hanging on by a thread to stay conscious. Brady asks if Gabi stopped to think how insane this is. Gabi reminds Brady that Stefan was also programmed to love Chloe. Brady calls her unbelievable. Gabi remarks that she thought that would make this urgent for him but guesses he doesn’t love Chloe anymore. Brady assures that he does love Chloe. Chloe then arrives at the hospital.

Wendy exits the Brady Pub and runs in to Tripp. They hug and she says she’s so happy to see him, asking when he got in. Tripp says it was just awhile ago. Wendy tells him that she’s so sorry about Kayla as she knows they were really close. Tripp says they never imagined she would relapse and he just wishes he had been there. Tripp asks how Wendy is doing. Wendy says she’s okay. Tripp mentions hearing some stuff about her brother and he wasn’t sure if it was true as it seemed pretty out there. Wendy confirms that it is. Tripp says he’s sorry as it sounds rough. Wendy responds that she learned a lesson to stay the hell out of people’s love lives.

Chloe greets Brady and Gabi, asking what they were talking about. Gabi remarks that it was nothing important to Brady. Chloe says she just came to check on Marlena and see if there’s anything she could do. Brady responds that it’s good that someone is here for the right reasons. Chloe asks if she’s missing something. Brady calls it just a wild display of selfishness on Gabi’s part. Gabi argues that it’s the opposite of selfish as she’s trying to help someone she cares about. Brady explains that Gabi wants Stefan back and she thinks the way to do that is to bug Marlena about it which is not going to happen. Gabi tells him to forget it and that she’s leaving. Gabi warns Chloe that Stefan wants to be deprogrammed and she will make it happen, so it’s not a matter of if he leaves her, but when. Chloe remarks that she’s awfully confident. Gabi declares that true love always wins as she then exits the hospital.

Stefan asks if Li’s not going to deny it. Li admits that he pulled the plug and he still can’t believe it but luckily Kristen showed up when she did. Li tells Stefan that he has to understand that he wasn’t in his right mind as all he could think about was losing the woman he loved. Li knows what he did was reprehensible but calls it a moment of madness. Li swears that it was temporary insanity and that he regrets all of it. Li wishes there was something he could do to make it up to him. Stefan responds that there is something. Stefan says that Marlena is in the hospital, dying, while he wants to undo what was done to him and there’s one person who can fix both. Stefan declares that if Li wants to make up for what he’s done, he will help him find Dr. Rolf. Li responds that he’s sorry but he has no idea where Dr. Rolf is and suggests he ask Kristen.

Kristen tells Steve that he’s scaring her and swears that she would’ve done anything to help those women. Steve asks why she didn’t come to them with the Orchid so they could’ve made more serum to save their lives then. Steve argues that she would’ve lost her leverage over Brady and calls her a spiteful bitch. Steve bets the orchid isn’t even stolen and that she has it hidden somewhere, waiting for Marlena to die. Steve says that Kristen loves having the power to take lives. Steve warns that Kristen has made so many innocent people suffer, so now it’s her turn. Steve tells Kristen to think about her family and future because it’s all going to slip away from her. Kristen tries to fight him off but Steve overpowers her. Kristen pleads with him not to do anything he’s going to regret as Steve begins choking her.

Stephanie informs Joey about Alex turning off his phone. Alex calls it so unbelievably wrong. Stephanie talks about how she could’ve been with Kayla to comfort her. Stephanie cries that she took it for granted when Kayla got better the first time. Joey encourages that it’s not her fault, but Alex’s, for her not being there. Stephanie wishes she never got involved with him. Joey admits he’s surprised she did since after the last guy, she said she wasn’t ready to get involved with anyone again. Stephanie says she wasn’t ready and she told Alex numerous times that she wasn’t interested in him. Joey asks what happened. Stephanie guesses he wore her down and was so damn persistent that she gave it a shot and look where that got her.

Steve chokes Kristen, asking how she thinks Kayla felt when she took her last breath. Johnny then runs in and pulls Steve off of Kristen.

Stefan asks Li why Kristen would know where Dr. Rolf is. Li responds that Kristen employed him for years. Stefan argues that Li set him up in Jakarta, so it would make sense that he would move him. Li responds that he was as surprised as anyone that he took off. Stefan guesses it must have been a huge relief that he was gone before the authorities showed up. Stefan bets he could tear the entire room up and not find a single piece of evidence linking Li to Dr. Rolf. Li assures that he doesn’t know where he is and he’s not in contact with him. Li asks if Stefan believes him. Stefan warns that if he finds out Li is lying, that punch he got will feel like a pat on the back compared to what’s coming his way. Stefan adds that Li’s going to want to clear his desk out at DiMera. Li responds that it’s not his call as only EJ can fire him. Stefan questions if he thinks EJ is going to let him stay on after what he’s done. Stefan declares that nothing is more important to EJ than family as he then exits the room. Li mutters that there’s nothing more important to EJ than covering his own ass. Li then grabs the phone and calls Dr. Rolf.

Brady tells Chloe about how Gabi thought she could just sail in to Marlena’s room and request that she undo Stefan’s brainwashing but he shot her down which is why she was nastier than usual. Chloe remarks that Gabi’s reason towards her was because she’s with the love of Gabi’s life. Brady calls that hard to forget. Chloe apologizes for how that came out. Brady asks if Chloe came to see Marlena. Chloe says she knows Brady is going through a lot, so she came to check on him too. Brady doesn’t want to make a fool of himself. Chloe assures that he’s not and assumes he wanted to ask if she changed her mind about him.

Stefan comes out of the Salem Inn and runs in to Gabi in the town square.

Joey guesses things between Stephanie and Alex got serious pretty quickly. Stephanie says that’s why what he did hurt so badly. They talk about Kayla being their constant rock. Stephanie declares that now they have to find a way to be okay without her as it’s just them now.

Johnny questions what Steve is trying to do and if he wants to go to prison. Johnny tells Steve that he needs to stay away from Kristen. Johnny checks on Kristen while Steve argues that she deserved it. Johnny tells Steve to go. Steve questions Johnny defending her. Steve tells Johnny to take care of the woman who killed his Aunt Kayla and Kate. Steve then reminds him that his grandmother Marlena might be next. Steve then walks out of the DiMera Mansion. Kristen thanks Johnny for saving her life. Johnny responds that he did it for Steve, not her.

Wendy asks Tripp how Steve is doing. Tripp says he hasn’t seen him yet since he wasn’t home when they got in, so he decided to come check on Roman and pay his respects. Wendy mentions that Johnny was just there checking on him. Tripp calls it the saddest trip to Salem ever since he’s going from here to Bayview to see his mom. Wendy offers to go with him but Tripp says he can handle it. Tripp notes that they might not even let him in as they said it depends on the state that she is in when he gets there. Tripp adds that Ava probably hasn’t had a single visitor which he understands since she did terrible things, but he can’t just abandon her. Wendy knows what he means as people will definitely judge her for standing by her brother after what he did, but she can’t desert him since she’s pretty much all he has left. Tripp asks if there’s anything he can do to help. Wendy thanks him but says this is Li’s mess and if he could clean it up, he would.

Li tells Dr. Rolf that he’s on a burner phone so no one can trace this call to his new location. Li says he’s sorry that he started to enjoy Jakarta but he needed to be moved. Li informs him that Stefan is starting to suspect he knows where he is, but he’s doing his best to convince him otherwise so Dr. Rolf needs to do his part too. Li reminds Rolf that if anyone shows up asking questions, he’s never heard of him.

Gabi asks if Stefan was visiting Chloe at the Salem Inn. Stefan informs her that he was in Li’s room, trying to find out where Dr. Rolf is as he is still on board with getting the brainwashing reversed. Stefan notes that Li was no help so he doesn’t know if it’s going to happen. Gabi assures that it will and reminds him that they make a great team. Stefan tells Gabi that he loves Chloe and she’s the woman he wants to be with. Stefan adds that whether or not they find Dr. Rolf, that’s not going to change. Gabi says they’ll see. Gabi mentions that she was working to find Rolf too at the hospital but complains that Brady banned her from seeing Marlena when she was only trying to ask her to deprogram Stefan so they can be together again. Stefan asks what the hell is wrong with her. Stefan argues that Marlena is dying and Gabi wants her to reprogram his brain so they can reconcile. Stefan questions how Gabi could be so heartless.

Brady tells Chloe that he’s not going to push since she asked for space but admits he felt like in the moment that she cared. Chloe says she does care but thanks to Kristen, she thought it was over for them. Brady reminds her that he told her he was being blackmailed and that breaking up with her was the last thing he wanted to do. Chloe cries that she knows it’s been really hard for him too but she spent a really long time in the dark about this and struggled to figure out how the man she was in love with could just abandon her. Chloe adds that Stefan came along and gave her a chance to let it all go and try to move on. Chloe cries that she started to feel a little normal again and then Gabi dropped her bombshell about Stefan being brainwashed. Chloe says it’s been one thing after another so she’s really confused and doesn’t know what to think or feel. Brady then grabs Chloe and kisses her.

Steve comes home to find Joey at the house. Steve hugs him and cries that he’s so glad he’s there. Steve asks where Tripp is. Joey responds that he had to run out and Stephanie did too, but they’ll be back in a bit. Joey mentions Stephanie saying Steve left early, so she thought he needed time alone. Steve admits he wasn’t alone as he went to see Kristen at the DiMera Mansion. Joey questions what he did. Steve reveals that he almost killed her.

Kristen complains to Johnny that Steve almost murdered her. Johnny argues that she’s fine now. Kristen questions if he’s okay with what he did. Johnny responds that what he’s not okay with is Steve going to prison because he’s the only parent his kids have left thanks to Kristen. Johnny adds that Roman is shattered and Marlena is in the hospital, clinging to life. Johnny declares that given all the damage she’s done to his family, he doesn’t give a damn if someone damages her. Kristen shouts that she didn’t want to hurt anyone. Kristen admits she hid the Orchid, knowing the women would need more doses of the serum, but swears she was never going to withhold it if they got sick because she never wanted them dead. Johnny says maybe not, but that’s what happened.

Brady and Chloe continue kissing until she pulls away. Brady apologizes and says he shouldn’t have done that. Chloe tells him not to apologize and says it wasn’t wrong but it wasn’t right. Chloe knows she’s not making any sense. Chloe tells Brady that she’s sorry, but she just can’t as she then rushes out of the hospital.

Li calls EJ and tells him that he’s on a burner phone because Stefan is on the warpath and thinks EJ is going to fire him because of what he did to him. Li tells EJ that they both know that’s not going to happen, unless he wants Stefan to find out about his betrayal and how he kept quiet about his brainwashing so he could take over DiMera. Li says that’s what he thought.

Gabi questions why Stefan is so angry. Stefan says what she did is disgusting. Gabi blames the programming for why he’s overreacting. Stefan argues that she imposed on a critically ill woman for her own stupid and selfish reasons. Gabi tells him that this is a very serious life changing issue that won’t undo itself. Gabi declares that Dr. Rolf is missing and they may never find him which leaves Marlena. Stefan repeats that Marlena is dying. Gabi says that’s why they need to move quickly. Gabi argues that Marlena is Stefan’s only hope, so she did this for him. Stefan tells her not to lie because the only person she was thinking about was herself. Stefan insists that Gabi did this for herself. Gabi complains that Stefan said this is what he wanted. Gabi asks how else they will access his real feelings. Stefan complains that she only cares about his feelings for her. Gabi insists it’s for them and talks about their love. Gabi thought they would spend their life together until he was shot and now they have a miracle. Gabi declares that they have to get in touch with how he really feels and nothing can get in the way of that. Stefan questions how she can be so cruel. Stefan remarks that he’s starting to think Li did him a favor by brainwashing him because it got him away from a bitch like her. Li comes out of the Salem Inn and intervenes, telling Stefan to leave Gabi the hell alone.

Johnny goes to the hospital and asks Brady about Marlena. Brady responds that there’s no change. Johnny asks if John is there. Brady says he made him go home to sleep but he just came back a couple minutes ago. Brady asks if Johnny got any rest. Johnny says there was a bit of a situation at his place. Brady asks what he means. Johnny explains that he walked in and Steve had his hands around Kristen’s throat, so he thinks he was trying to kill her. Brady remarks that he can’t say he blames him. Johnny says he sure doesn’t since Kristen has wronged so many people.

Kristen starts to go upstairs when the doorbell rings again. Kristen answers the door to see Chloe.

Joey questions Steve saying he almost killed Kristen. Steve tells him not to worry and reveals it was just an act. Steve explains that he purposely made a lot of noise, hoping someone would break it up and then Johnny did. Steve adds that while Johnny checked on Kristen, he planted a bug in the room so after Johnny kicked him out, everything they said went to his device. Steve says they had to release Kristen due to lack of evidence, but he will give Rafe everything he needs to make sure she goes down for murder. Steve then plays the recording of Kristen swearing she didn’t want to hurt Marlena or the other women and then admitting that she hid the Orchid but wasn’t going to withhold it. Steve declares that’s a confession.

Update written by Joseph

Justin and Bonnie walk to the Brady Pub and run in to Sarah. Bonnie invites her to join them for dinner. Sarah says she’d love to join them but is afraid she wouldn’t be much company since she’s wiped out after working nonstop trying to find the cure for Marlena. Justin asks if she’s had any luck. Sarah says no and they can’t do much without the Orchid, but assures they will keep trying. Bonnie says they are all praying for her. Sarah then tells Justin that she’s glad she ran in to him because there’s something she’d like to discuss. Sarah informs Justin that she’s going to divorce Xander and was wondering if he could help her.

Gwen goes to Xander’s motel room. Xander answers the door while drinking and says he’s delighted to see her because he’s in the middle of a crisis as he just ran out of scotch.

Will enters the Horton House and listens in from behind the wall as Leo talks to Sloan in the living room. Leo tells Sloan about how Will is already trying to prove to Sonny that he can’t be trusted. Sloan remarks that Leo only made that job so much easier with his latest stunt. Leo complains that Will would eat this up if the truth came out and he would lose Sonny’s friendship for good. Will smiles as he hears this.

Alex has a drink at the Kiriakis Mansion. Sonny walks in and asks how things went with Stephanie. Alex responds that it’s over as he just lost the best thing that has ever happened to him.

Stephanie is at home and calls Chad, who is walking through the town square. Stephanie asks if he’s busy or if it’s not a good time. Chad says he’s just running some errands and asks if she’s okay as it sounds like she’s crying. Stephanie admits things aren’t too great and asks him to come by because she could really use a friend. Chad says he’s on his way and hangs up.

Justin and Bonnie sit with Sarah in the Brady Pub as Justin tells Sarah that he would be happy to help her divorce Xander after what he did to Bonnie. Bonnie interrupts to say she thinks divorce might not be the best idea. Justin assures that the case is no problem to him since Xander showed no family loyalty. Bonnie explains that she knows it will sounds crazy but she honestly thinks Sarah should give Xander a second chance.

Xander complains to Gwen about needing more liquor. Xander says he’s only on his third bottle and then finds another which he says will keep him going until his delivery arrives. Gwen asks him what’s going on. Xander asks if she means besides his life blowing up and his family thinking he’s the scum of the earth and Sarah wanting to divorce him. Xander adds that then he’s probably going to prison but Gwen declares that he’s not if she has something to say about it.

Leo asks Sloan to represent him. Sloan says she will try her best but it’s not a slam dunk as it will take some serious legal creativity to get him out of this. Leo argues that Xander is the one who kidnapped Sonny’s stepmom and all he did was help him cover it up afterwards. Will smiles as he listens. Sloan warns Leo that it’s still a crime. Leo knows that if he doesn’t play his cards right, this could still blow up in his face.

Sarah can’t believe Bonnie of all people thinks she should work things out with Xander considering he kidnapped her and Susan. Bonnie assures that she was furious at him but now that she’s had a chance to process everything and she’s not seeing clowns everywhere, she realizes she’s been a hypocrite concerning Xander. Justin questions what she’s talking about. Bonnie brings up what she did to Adrienne and how it may have been worse than what Xander did but Justin found it in his heart to forgive her and now they are happy. Bonnie thinks that if Sarah can find it in her heart to forgive Xander, maybe they could be happy again too. Sarah argues that the big difference is that Bonnie didn’t cause Adrienne’s death while if Xander didn’t kidnap Susan, she might not have died in that horrible way. Sarah questions how she could get past that.

Gwen informs Xander that Rafe came by to offer her a deal that would keep her out of prison entirely, but only if she threw Xander under the bus. Xander asks what she told him. Gwen explains that Leo asked Sloan Peterson to represent them and that Leo thinks they’d both get off free if they turn on Xander. Gwen then informs Xander that she came to tell him that she will not cooperate with the police. Xander tells her to take the damn deal.

Will continues listening in as Leo complains that he never should’ve agreed to dress up as the clown, especially for what Gwen paid him. Sloan still can’t believe Leo was able to fool Bonnie in to thinking he was the clown that kidnapped her, joking that it must have been a hell of a bodysuit. Leo argues that it was his performance that sold it, but instead he’s going to land in prison. Sloan tells him to relax while Will sneaks upstairs.

Sonny tells Alex that he’s really sorry but he thinks it was important for him to come clean. Alex explains that he didn’t really get the chance because by the time he got there, Stephanie had already basically figured out that he was the reason she didn’t get to say goodbye to her mother. Sonny tells him to give himself a break. Sonny argues that it wasn’t cool what he did, but he didn’t know why Chad was calling. Alex says it doesn’t matter because Stephanie hates him. Sonny encourages him to give her time to process all of it. Alex argues that Stephanie is still going to hate him for depriving her of her last moments with her mother which is exactly what he did. Alex adds that Stephanie told him that she never wants to see him again and he thinks she meant it with every fiber of her being.

Chad goes to see Stephanie. Stephanie says she’s sorry for making him come back over but she needed to talk to someone and he was the first person to come to mind. Chad asks what’s going on and if it’s about her mother. Stephanie responds that it’s about her not getting to see her before she died and what Alex did. Chad reveals that Sonny told him that Alex turned her phone off because he knew Alex was coming over to confess. Stephanie says she was able to piece things together before Alex got there. Chad asks what happened when she confronted him. Stephanie says he tried to apologize, but what he did was unforgivable. Stephanie states that because of Alex, she missed the last chance to see her mom before she died. Stephanie then declares that her and Alex are done for good. Chad hugs her as she cries. Chad tells Stephanie that she has every reason to be mad as hell at Alex, but in his defense, he didn’t know why he was calling and just wanted to be alone with her. Stephanie doesn’t give a damn and argues that he had no right to turn off her phone, calling it a total violation. Chad says he gets it but Alex was already annoyed that they had spent the day together and he intruded on their romantic evening together on Christmas Eve, so it makes sense that Alex didn’t want him interrupting them again. Stephanie argues that he wouldn’t have been interrupting and she would’ve told Chad they were busy if it was about anything other than her mom, but Alex didn’t trust her to do that and took that choice away from her, so she missed her last chance to say goodbye to her mom before she died. Stephanie cries that it would’ve meant everything to them, but now because of Alex, it’s too late. Chad tells her that he’s sorry and asks how he can help.

Alex sits on the floor alone in the living room, drinking in front of the fireplace. Alex thinks back to being with Stephanie. Alex declares that he can’t stay here and decides to leave the Kiriakis Mansion.

Bonnie argues that Sarah isn’t being fair here since Susan’s death wasn’t Xander’s fault since in the end, he let her go. Bonnie is not condoning what Xander did but understands the position he was in as she’s been there before, stuck with something you don’t want to do but unable to get out. Sarah compares it to Stockholm Syndrome. Bonnie assures it’s not that and asks Justin if he knows what she’s talking about. Justin responds that Bonnie has one of the biggest hearts of anyone he knows and he believes she may be being too charitable in this case, but she may have a point. Bonnie tells Sarah that they are just trying to help her because they know how much she loves Xander and how great they are together. Justin encourages Sarah to take a little more time before really making the decision to end her marriage.

Gwen tells Xander that there is no way she will sell him out to the cops and nothing he can say will change her mind. Xander asks what Gwen wants in return. Gwen says not a thing. Xander questions if she’s sure because she’s told him more than once that he owes her one. Xander adds that he’s probably going back to prison, so if there is something she wants from him, now is the time to collect.

Leo asks Sloan how soon she can get him a deal to testify against Xander, anonymously. Sloan tells him that she’s afraid it’s not that simple since Xander has the legal right to know who his accuser is. Sloan says Leo can be anonymous to the people but Xander would have a right to know, adding that his lawyers are going to want to cross examine. Leo jokes that he could wear a diguise and alter his voice but Sloan thinks Xander would know exactly who he is. Leo asks if there’s any way to stop Xander from telling anyone else but Sloan says there is nothing to stop Xander from telling everyone that Leo is the one who turned on him. Leo worries that Sonny would still find out. Sloan points out that at least he wouldn’t be in prison. Leo complains that’s not good enough and repeats that he does not want Sonny finding out the truth.

Will goes to the hospital where Sonny runs up and hugs him. Sonny says he’s glad to see him and saw his bags at the house, so he figured he must have come here. Sonny asks if Will has been able to see Marlena yet. Will says not yet since they are only letting two people in at a time, but hopefully he will get in soon. Sonny tells him he’s sorry again about Kate. Sonny asks if Will has been able to spend time with the rest of his family. Will confirms that he has and that they are in the chapel as he just came back from dropping off Julie’s rosary. Sonny asks if he wants to go back to join them. Will responds that he’s actually glad they have a moment alone because there’s something he needs to tell him about Leo.

Sarah questions Justin siding against her too. Justin thinks Xander is a very troubled man, who has only a nodding acquaintance with the truth, but he also knows Xander has on occasion made Sarah very happy. Justin suggests she let the dust settle a bit before filing for divorce right away. Bonnie suggests couples therapy and relates that her sessions with Marlena did wonders for her PTSD. Sarah argues that Xander has lied to her and betrayed her so many times over the years, so she questions how to believe he’ll never do it again. Sarah adds that even if she could find a way to trust him again, it would all be a moot point if he ends up in prison.

Gwen admits that she does want something from Xander and that’s for him to stop being so defeatist and pull himself together. Xander asks what’s the point when Sarah is divorcing him and he’s going back to prison. Gwen orders him to stop whining and rolling over. She tells him to fight for his marriage and his freedom. Xander asks how. Gwen says they are going to sober him up and then come up with a gameplan. Gwen sends Xander to the shower to clean up.

Sloan thinks Leo should take the plea deal because if helps Melinda, he’d be off the hook. Leo would rather keep his mouth shut and take his chances, so Sonny won’t know what he did. Sloan questions him rather risking prison than have his friend know he did something shady. Sloan remarks that Leo must really have it bad for Sonny. Leo laughs it off and claims he’s not even his type. Leo then admits that Sonny is handsome, funny, kind, completely wonderful, and totally his type. Leo declares that he’s completely crushing on Sonny again.

Will informs Sonny about Leo knowing that Xander kidnapped Bonnie and Susan the whole time and then covering it up to get Xander off the hook. Will adds that Leo put on a bodysuit to pretend to be the clown. Sonny argues that Sarah was so sure that Gwen was behind all of it. Will then reveals that Gwen paid Leo to do it. Sonny can’t believe this and asks if he’s sure he didn’t misunderstand. Will assures that Leo laid out the whole thing to his attorney as he’s desperate for some kind of plea deal to keep Sonny from finding out. Sonny calls Leo a sneaky son of a bitch.

Leo tells Sloan that he’s been denying it to himself, but Sonny does make him weak in the knees. Sloan thinks it’s obvious that Leo has great appreciation for Sonny’s attributes, but he is married. Leo argues that they hit a rough patch and they live in separate cities so it wouldn’t take much. Sloan questions Leo thinking Sonny would just turn to him. Leo argues that he can hope and points out they were married once before. Leo adds that even if not, he still wants to be Sonny’s friend and to keep him in his life any way that he can.

Sonny asks Will if it’s okay to leave for a little bit. Will assures he’s fine. Sonny kisses him goodbye. Will tells Sonny to tell Leo that he says “hello, good riddance, go to Hell, and screw you”. Sonny agrees to pass that along as he exits the hospital.

Sloan finds Alex at the Bistro and questions him being solo, asking where his girlfriend is. Sloan mentions hearing Alex and Stephanie were attached at the hip. Sloan jokes about not getting a thank you note since she’s the reason they got together. Sloan figured that Stephanie was so grateful that Alex stole the file from her that she had to give him the time of day. Alex tells her that she’s not that far off, but in spite of that, it’s over now. Alex declares that it’s because he’s a total jerk, egotistical, dishonest, misogynistic, and arrogant. Alex states that he screwed up.

Chad makes spaghetti and meatballs for he and Stephanie. Stephanie asks if it’s an old DiMera recipe. Chad mentions that it was actually Kate who taught him how to make it. Stephanie mentions that she didn’t get to say before but she’s sorry about the loss of Kate as she knows Kate was like a mother to Chad. Chad thinks Kate probably understood him more than his own parents did. Chad says Kate was hard as Hell on him but she always lifted his spirits. Stephanie toasts to Kate and says she’s gone, but not forgotten.

After Gwen forces Xander to get in the shower, she asks if he feels better. Xander complains that now he’s just soaked and miserable. Gwen encourages that he can change out of wet clothes in to dry ones. Xander suggests she should get changed too. Gwen heads to the bathroom but looks back as Xander removes his shirt before heading in.

Leo goes to the Kiriakis Mansion, trying to tell himself that he could pull off a disguise in court. Sonny arrives so Leo greets him and mentions Will stopping by earlier. Sonny informs him that he just ran in to Will at the hospital. Leo asks if Sonny wants to have dinner but Sonny says there’s no need because they won’t be there for long. Sonny then orders Leo to pack his things and go. Leo questions what is going on and guesses it was Will going on about what a menace and loser he is. Sonny responds that he doesn’t want Leo anywhere near him. Leo asks what’s going on. Sonny informs Leo that he knows what he did and that he was involved in Bonnie’s kidnapping.

Stephanie thanks Chad for dinner and for the company, saying it was just what she needed. Chad says now they need dessert and offers to get some but Stephanie is sure they have something in the fridge. Stephanie checks and finds one of Kayla’s apple pies. Stephanie finds a note with it, saying she made it for her since she missed out on Christmas. Chad then hugs her as she starts to cry.

Sloan asks Alex if he got bored with Stephanie. Alex states that Stephanie’s mom died and she dumped him because she didn’t have a chance to say goodbye to her, which was entirely his fault. Sloan asks how. Alex explains that he was getting sick and tired of Chad hanging around and the night that Kayla died, he turned Stephanie’s phone off because he saw Chad calling again but Chad was calling because her mom was dying. Sloan remarks that he really did screw up. Alex sarcastically thanks her for confirming that. Alex asks if she thinks there’s any chance he could fix this. Sloan responds that there’s not a chance. Sloan brings up when her mom died and says she would’ve given anything to have a last chance to say goodbye to her and if any guy got in the way of her doing that, she’d hate him for the rest of her life. Alex admits that’s what he thought.

Leo tells Sonny that he has it all wrong but Sonny screams at him to knock it off. Sonny reveals that Will overheard Leo talking to Sloan. Leo questions if Will was stalking him. Sonny asks how Leo could do this to him and hurt his family like this after everything he did for him. Sonny argues that he helped Leo look for a job and put a roof over his head. Leo apologizes and argues that he needed the money and at the time it seemed like a harmless prank. Sonny complains that Bonnie was scared to death and had already been kidnapped once. Leo argues that technically he had nothing to do with the kidnapping. Sonny shouts that technically, he’s guilty as hell. Sonny complains that Leo lived in this house, knowing what Xander did, and said nothing. Sonny screams that Leo saw how traumatized Bonnie was and how concerned Justin was but he still said nothing. Leo admits he screwed up and apologizes. Leo knows he messed up and deeply regrets it. Leo asks Sonny to give him another chance, calling him the only true friend he’s ever had and the only person to ever believe in him. Leo promises to do better and make amends to everyone he hurt. Leo pleads with Sonny to forgive him but Sonny says he’s not making that mistake again. Sonny talks about vouching for him and getting in a huge fight with Will because he insisted that Leo changed. Leo insists that he’s becoming a better person for him. Sonny declares that Will was right that Leo is still just a despicable, selfish con-artist and always will be. Leo tells him not to say that. Sonny adds that the craziest part is he actually started to think they were friends. Leo says they are but Sonny declares that Leo is not his friend and is nothing to him. Sonny orders Leo to get out of the house before he has him thrown out.

Bonnie tells Justin that she feels bad for Sarah since she can tell underneath that Sarah still loves Xander. Bonnie thinks there may still be hope for them yet. Justin calls her incredible since Xander terrorized her yet she’s sticking up for him and rooting for him to save his marriage. Bonnie states that she’s been where Xander is and she feels for him. Justin declares that Bonnie has once again proven that she’s one of the best people he knows and he’s so lucky to have her. Bonnie tells him the same as they kiss.

Gwen comes out of the bathroom in the shirt that Xander gave her while Xander is struggling to get his pants on. There’s a knock at the door which Xander excitedly hopes is his liquor store delivery. Gwen decides he’s had enough and she will just tell them to get lost. Gwen answers the door to see Sarah, who comes in and questions what the hell this is.

Chad and Stephanie eat apple pie together. Chad calls it amazing and says knowing Kayla made it makes it that much more amazing. Chad is grateful to get to share it with her. Stephanie is glad that she found it as Kayla would’ve been disappointed if it went to waste. Stephanie thanks Chad for coming over as she doesn’t know if she could’ve gotten through the night without him. Chad says anytime.

Sloan comments on Alex really taking this hard. Alex mocks it being no big deal that the only woman he ever loved never wants to see him again. Alex asks how to not take it hard when you feel like your life is over and you don’t know how to get through the rest of the day. Sloan responds that Alex made the fatal mistake of getting emotionally involved and this is why no strings is always the way to go. Sloan tells Alex that she’s sorry as nothing is worse than a broken heart is what they say. Sloan then walks away.

Sonny calls Will and tells him that as soon as Leo is gone, he will meet him back at the hospital. Will tells Sonny to take his time as getting Leo out of their lives is their biggest priority. Sonny admits that Will was right about Leo and he should’ve listened to him. Will says he’s just sorry that Leo hurt him again. Sonny tells Will that he has to go and he loves him. Sonny hangs up as Leo returns with his bags packed. Leo asks Sonny if he’s going to tell the police about what he did. Sonny responds that he hasn’t decided yet. Leo tells Sonny there’s one thing he wants him to know before he goes and that’s that he really did care about him. Leo states that Sonny’s friendship means everything to him. Sonny argues that Leo was just playing him the entire time. Leo insists the bond they had was real, sweet, special, and great. Leo is certain that deep down, Sonny knows that is true. Leo repeats that he’s so very sorry for everything as he then exits the mansion.

Sarah remarks that she knew coming here was a huge mistake. Gwen tells her it’s not what she thinks. Xander tries to tell her that she has to let them explain but he falls to the floor and Sarah tells him to shut up. Sarah declares that they disgust her as she walks back out the door.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

Honey. Hi Bonnie. Hi, Justin. We were just about to grab dinner. Um, we’d love for you to join us unless you have other plans. No, I, I don’t, um, I’d actually love to join you. Just I’m afraid I won’t be much company. I’m kind of wiped out. Yeah, I’m sure you’ve been working all out lately. Yeah. Just kinda nonstop trying to find that cure from Elena.

Any. No, unfortunately. And without that orchid we can’t do much. But we are gonna keep trying though. Well, we’re all praying for her. Yeah. So am I actually, Justin, um, I’m really glad I ran into you. There’s, um, something I would like to discuss. What’s that?

I wanna divorce Zander, and I was wondering if you could help me.

Zander, are you in there? I really need to talk to you.

Oh, I’m delighted to see you. Look. You sure you only see one of me? Oh, there’s no time for mass right now. Come in the middle of a major crisis. What we thought, what’s not? I just running ask SCO

son’s wet blanket. Husband is already doing his damnest to convince him that I’m a terrible person who can’t be trusted. Well, I mean, you’ve only made this job so much easier for him with the latest stunt you pulled, you don’t need to rub it in, but you’re. That little bitch Wilhelmina would eat this up if the truth came out.

And even worse, I would lose Sunny’s friendship for good.

So, uh, how’d things go with Stephanie?

It’s over, bro. I just lost the best thing that has ever happened to me,

Stephanie. Chad. Hey, are you busy? I mean, if this is not a good time. No, I’m just, just running some errands. Are you okay? Sounds like you’re crying. Yeah. Things aren’t too great over here. Do you think you could come by? Um, I’m at my parents’ place. I just, I could really use a friend. Yeah, I’m on my way,

like sands through the hourglass. So are the days of our lives.

After what Zandra did to Bonnie, I’d be more than happy to help you divorce him. In fact, I’ll do a pro bono, hell, I’ll even pay you for the privilege of putting that clown through the ringer. That won’t be necessary Justin, but I do appreciate the offer. Can I say something? Yeah, of course, Bonnie. I, I know it’s none of my business, but, um, I think divorce might not be the best idea.

If you’re worried about me taking the case, it’s not a problem for me. I mean, it’s not a, like I owe my cousin any family loyalty. Lord knows. He didn’t show me any loyalty when he kidnapped you. No, I piss not them.

I know this is gonna sound crazy, but I honestly think you should give Xander a second chance.

I have more boos to be delivered, but the liquor store must be walking here from Scotland. Hey, you don’t happen to have any libation on you, do you, mate? Sorry. I’m afraid not, mate. Damn. Life’s so unfair, isn’t it?

Oh my God.

Are you just absolutely sloshed? Wait, I’ve got no self-control, honey. I’m only on my third ball. Yes, so this will keep me going until my delivery arrives. Zander, what’s going on? You mean beside my entire life? Imploding and my family thinking that I’m discovered the earth and Sarah wanting to divorce me.

Hang on. Sarah wants to divorce you. Indeed, she does, and I’m probably going back to prison. No, you were not. Not if I have something to say about it.

So you’re on board with representing me, right? I’m gonna try my best, but this is not a slam dunk, you know? I mean, it’s gonna take some serious. Legal creativity to get you out of this. Xander is the one who kidnapped son’s stepmom. All I did was help him cover it up afterwards, but that’s still a crime.

Me. I know. I know what it means. It means if I don’t play my cards right, this could all still blow up in my adorable.

Bonnie, I can’t believe that you of all people think that I should work things out with Xander. I mean, he kidnapped you and Su I know I was there and believe you me, I was furious when I found out I was him. And now, now what? Now that I’ve had a chance to process everything. Now that I don’t see clowns everywhere that I look, I realize I’ve been a hypocrite.

Where X’s concerned, what are you talking about? How do you remember what I did to Adrian? It was every bit as terrible as what Sandra did, if not worse. And yet you found it. And your big, beautiful heart to forgive me and give me a second chance and look where we are now. We are happy and I’m thinking. If Sarah can find it in her heart to forgive Xander, maybe they could be happy again too.

Bonnie, there is a big difference between you and Xander. You didn’t cause Adrian’s death. If Xander hadn’t a kidnapped Susan, then she might not have died that horrible way. I mean, even if I can. Get over everything that he did to me. How can I get past that?

Rafe came by yesterday and he offered me a deal that would keep me out of prison entirely. That’s great. Brilliant. Yeah. Only if I throw you under the bus.

So what’d you tell him? He said, I need to speak to a lawyer. And so today Leo asked if Sloan Peterson would represent us. He thinks that he, if we both turn on you, we’d get off SCO free. Why? They like the Sky Hub. Good old Leon.

Zander. I came here today because I wanted to tell you I’m not gonna do it. I’m not gonna cooperate with the police. Come hell or high water are you? Tough. Take the damn deal.

Dammit. I never should have agreed to dress up as that stupid clown, especially enough for the pits that Gwen paid me little late for. Regrets Leo. I still can’t believe that you were able to fool Bonnie Lockhart into thinking that you were to clown the kidnapped her. I mean, there must have been one hell of a body suit, excuse me.

It was my performance that sold it. I tapped into my inner Joaquin Phoenix to bring the menace and the pathos to that role. But instead of an Oscar, I’m gonna earn a trip to the slammer. Where is the justice in this? No. Okay. Come stalking it, Joaquin. All right. You’re gonna give yourself a hearty pack,

Alex, I’m really sorry, but I mean, like I said, I, I think it was important for you to come. Well, the thing is, Sonny, I didn’t even get the chance to come clean because by the time I got there, Stephanie had already pretty much figured it out for herself that I am the reason why she didn’t get a chance to say goodbye to tomorrow.

Gotta cut yourself a break. Like I said, it wasn’t cool what you did, but you didn’t know why Chad was calling. It doesn’t matter. Stephanie hates me. Okay? Cuz she just suffered a major loss. But give her time. I mean, once she’s had a chance to process, solve it and, and once she. S some time to process all of it.

Son, she’s still gonna hate me. She’s still gonna blame me for depriving her of her last moments with her dying mother, and why wouldn’t she? That is exactly what I did.

She told me she never wants to see me again, and I think she meant it with every fiber of her being.

Sorry for making you come back over here. I needed to talk to someone. You were the first person who came to mind. Of course. What’s going on? Is it about your mom? Yeah, it is. It’s about my not getting to see her before she died. It’s about Alex, what he did.

He turned off your phone so you couldn’t get my calls. How did you know? Sonny told me only because he, he knew that Alex was gonna come over here and confess. Yeah. Well, no confession was necessary. I was able to piece things together before he got here. So what happened when you confronted him? He tried to apologize, but Chad, what he did was unforgivable.

Alex, I missed my last chance to see my mom before she died, so Alex and I were done for good.

Look, Steph, you have every reason to be mad as hell at Alex. But in his defense, he didn’t know why I was calling. He just wanted to be alone with you, . I don’t give a damn what he wanted. He had no right to turn off my phone. It was a total violation. I I get it.

I get it That he was already annoyed that I, that, that you and I had spent the day together and then, you know, I intruded on your romantic evening together. On Christmas Eve, so you know, it makes sense that he wouldn’t want me interrupting you guys again, God, but you wouldn’t have been interrupting if you had called about anything.

But my mom, I would’ve told you I was busy, but Alex didn’t trust me to do that, so he took that choice away from me. And so I missed my last chance to say goodbye to my mom before she died. Would’ve meant everything to me, Chad, and to her. And now cause of Alex. It’s too late. It’s too late. I’m sorry, Steph.

Just telling her what? How can I help?

It’s gotta be least 10 below out there kinda dreading going home,

so don’t

stay the night. I mean, if you want to, of course there’s no pressure.

Actually, I.

I can’t stay here.

Sorry. You’re not really being fair here. I mean, Susan’s death was not Sandra’s fault. In the end, he let her go just like he did me. And believe me, I am not condoning what. But I can’t understand the position he was in because I’ve been there too. Stuck doing something you don’t wanna do, but unable to see a way out.

Maybe it’s like a delayed Stockholm syndrome or I know what that is. I saw a documentary and believe me, this is not that, honey. You know what I’m talking about, right? About forgiveness. My wife has one of the biggest hearts of anyone I know. And while I personally believe that she may be a little too charitable in this case, she may have a point.

Honey, we’re just trying to help you because we knew how much you love Z and how great you guys are together. And what Bonnie’s trying to say is that this whole thing was. Only recently blew up, so maybe you should just take a little more time before you really make the decision to end your marriage.

Forget it, zander, that there’s, there’s no way that I’m going to sell you out to the cops. Nothing you can say is gonna change my mind.

And what do you want in return? Not a thing.

Are you sure? Cause you’ve told me more than once that I owe you one since I’m probably going back to prison. If there is something that you want from me, now’s the time to collect.

So let’s get down to business. How soon can you get me a deal to testify against Xander? Anonymously of. You do realize whenever you say anonymously, it means that nobody would know my identity. Yes, I know what the word anonymous means. It’s just not that simple, I’m afraid. You see, Zander has the legal right to know who his accuser is.

I mean, even though you can be anonymous to the public, I mean, Xander has to know who’s testifying against him. Excuse me. Who came up with that idiotic rule? It’s the sixth Amendment. Besides, his lawyers are gonna want the chance to cross-examine. I mean, they’re gonna wanna debunk your testimony. What if I were a veil, a really thick one so nobody could see my features and I could change my voice?

You really think that’s gonna work? I think Xander’s gonna know exactly who you are. Okay. So even if Xander has to know, is there any way to prevent him from telling anybody else, like isn’t there some sort of court rule about witness confidentiality? There is nothing that can stop Xander from telling anyone who will listen that you are the one that turned on him.

So then Sonny would still know what I did. But at least you won’t be in present. Not good enough. Ali McBeal. I do not. I repeat. I do not want Sunny finding out the truth.

Well, hey. Hi. Hey. Oh, I’m so glad to see you. I saw your bags at the house and I figured you must have come here. Have you been able to see your grandma Marlene again? No, not yet. They’re only letting in two people at a time, but hopefully I’ll be able to get in soon. I’m so sorry again about Okay, thanks.

Have you been able to spend any time with the rest of your family? Um, yeah, they’re in the chapel praying. I just came from dropping off Julie’s. Okay. Well, do you wanna go back and join them? Actually, uh, I’m, I’m glad we have a moment alone because son, there’s something I need to tell you about Leo.

So you’re siding against me too, huh? Justin? Look, I think Zand. He is a very troubled man who has only a nodding acquaintance with the truth most of the time anyway. But I also know that he has on occasion made you very happy. So why don’t you just let the dust settle a bit? There’s no need to file for divorce right away.

Maybe you guys could try a little doubles. My sessions with Marlene have done wonders for my PTs. D I can finally go back to McDonald’s without freaking out

I dunno. I mean, Xander has lied to me and betrayed me so many times over the years. How can I believe that he will never do it again? And even if I can find a way to trust him, isn’t it all a moot point if he ends up in prison? You’re right. I do want something from you. I’m my son.

I want you. To stop being so bloody defeatist and pull yourself together, cook for goodness sake, what’s the point? Sarah’s divorcing me. I’m heading back to this. Oh, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Stop your bloody whining. Like everything’s so hopeless. I’m not gonna let you just roll over and give up. You’re gonna fight for your marriage, and you’re gonna fight for your freedom.

How? Well, first of all, we’re gonna sober you up, right? And then we’re gonna come up with a game plan. That’s enough. Come on then. You love. Well we got, well you stink now with booze and defeat, so just go in there. We’re gonna shower both. Come off. Come on. I still think you should go for the plea deal. If you help trash land this big fish, you, my little gpi will be off the hook.

I’d rather keep my mouth shut and take my chances. At least this way. Son won’t know what I did. Are you kidding me? You would rather risk. Then have your friend know you did something shady, . I mean, you really have a bad for him. . What? That is ridiculous. He’s not even my type. Okay. Enough with the side eye.

It’s like your eyes are bearing a hole into my psyche. Okay, fine. He’s He’s handsome. He’s funny, he’s kind. He’s completely wonderful. He’s totally my type. Oh my God. I’m completely crushing on him again. Leo knew that Xander was the one who kidnapped Susan and Bonnie. Mm-hmm. . Andy helped cover it up. Yeah.

He put on a body suit and pretended to be the kidnapper to get Xander off the hook. No, but Sarah was so sure that Gwen was the one guy in all of it because she paid Leo to do it. I can’t believe this. You’re sure you didn’t misunderstand all? I’m sure he laid out the whole plan for his attorney. He’s hoping to cut some kind of plea deal and he’s desperate to keep you from finding out.

Thank God that’s sneaky son, a bitch.

I’ve been denying it to myself. But Sunny does make me go weaken the knees. It’s the white tank tops. Not to mention the adorable face, the width, the charm, the kindness. Great head of hair. Well, I think it’s obvious that you have great appreciation for this guy’s, many attributes, but unless I’m missing something, I mean, isn’t he married?

Yes, but they’ve hit a rough patch all on their own, by the way. Nothing to do with me and they live in separate cities. Wouldn’t take much for that marriage to. And you think that if that happens, that Sonny’s just gonna turn to you? I can hope, can’t I? Uh, we were married once before. Our chemistry is still off the charts.

But even if that rosy little fantasy is not to be, I still wanna be his friend. I wanna keep Sonny in my life any way I can.

I, is it okay if I leave you here for a little? Yeah, of course. I’ll, I’ll be fine. Okay, son. Um, tell Leo that Wilhelmina says hello. Also good ridin. Go to hell and screw you. I’ll pass it along.

What’s with the Solo Act? Keri Aus. Where’s your little girlfriend who don’t play Coy? I heard you and Stephanie Johnson were practically attached at the hip. In all truth, I was a little offended that you never sent me a thank you. And why? Sharon, thank you. Only I or am I not? The reason that the two of you ended up together, I figure Ms.

Johnson was so grateful that you sold that file for me. She just decided she had to give you the time of day. Hmm. You know what? You’re not that far off. I figured as much, but in spite of that, You’re unintentionally getting Ms. Johnson, and give me the time of day as you put it. That’s over now. And that to state the obvious is because I am a total jerk, egotistical, selfish, dishonest, misogynistic, arrogant.

To put it nice and short, I screwed.

My world famous spaghetti and meat, the molds. Wow. Is this an old Dara family recipe? Um, no actually. Uh, taught me how to make this one.

Chad, I’m, I didn’t get a chance to say this before, but I’m, I’m so sorry for your loss. I know Kate was like a mother to you. Yeah, she was. Um, I think she actually probably understood me more than my own parents did. I mean, she was, She was hard as hell on me, but, uh, but she . She uh, she always looked at my spirit

well, I’d like to propose a toast to Kate. Gone but not forgotten.

Then feeling better. Oh, I mean, yeah, I feel a bit, a little bit more alert, but now I’m soaking wet and miserable, so thanks very much. All right. Well, good thing is, is you can change out of wet clothes. We’ve put on some dry ones, I think. Yeah, you should probably get changed too. Okay. Sarah left this behind.

Yes, as I said, that’s um, not really to my taste. Why about this? Is this more to your taste? Oh, yes, that is. Thank you. Much better.

Maybe they’ll end a hat. What does Sloane know about my skills at disguise?

Hey, I didn’t know you were home. Just got back. Well, fyi, your hub’s in town. He stopped by earlier. Oh, I know. I just ran into him at the hospital. Oh, well good. Since you’re here, you wanna have some dinner? I was about to have cook whip something up. There’s no need. Not gonna be here for long. Neither are you.

You, you need a pack of things in gal Do What? What’s going on? Oh wait. It was Wilhelmina, wasn’t it? She was going on and on again about what a menace I am. What a pathetic loser. And told you to throw me out. She doesn’t want me anywhere near you.

No, I don’t want you anywhere near me. Why Jackson? What’s going on? I know what you did. I know you were involved in Bonnie’s kidnapping.

Thank you. For dinner and for the company. It was just what I. . Good.

You know what we need now? Dessert. I know a place. I’m gonna go get somewhere. No, no. You will go nowhere. I’m sure we have something sweet hiding in here.

Oh my God. What is it? It’s one of my mom’s apple pies. She left a note on it

for Steph, made this for you since you missed out on Christmas. Love.

I knew it’s monogamy equals monotony as you used to always say. So tell me how long was it before you got bored and strayed? That is not what happened. Stephanie’s mom died. So she founded you because her mom died? No, she dumped me because she didn’t get a chance to say goodbye to her. Which was entirely my fault.

How so?

I was get just getting sick and tired of Chad Damara hanging around. And the night that Stephanie’s mom died, Stephanie and I were together. She went into the bathroom, the phone kept bringing, it was Chad again. So I took the phone and I turned it off. The thing is, Chad was calling to tell her that her mom was dying.

Oh wow. You really, I did screw up. Thank you for confirming that.

Do you think there’s any chance that I could fix this? No, not a chance. When my mom died, I, I would’ve given anything to have had one last chance to say goodbye to her. And if some guy got in the way of me doing that, I mean, I’d hate him for the rest of my life.

Yeah, that’s what I thought.

Son, you’ve got this all wrong. Knock it off. Leo will overheard you talking to Sloan and he told me everything. Oh, that nosy little twerp. Was he stalking you? How could you, how could you do this to me? How could you hurt my family like this after everything I’ve done for you? I mean, I, I, I helped you look for a job.

I, I I put a roof over your head. I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I, I needed the money. I, at the time, it seemed like a harmless prank. A harmless prank. Bonnie was scared to death. She’d already been kidnapped once. And then, then you Alexander her, kidnapped her again? No, no, no. Technically I had nothing to do with the kidnapping.

Technically, you know what? Technically you’re guilty as hell. You stayed in this house, you knew what Sandra did, and you said nothing. You saw how traumatized body was. You saw how concerned my dad was, and still you lived under this roof and you said nothing. Okay? Okay. I screwed up. I’m sorry. I know that I messed up.

I deeply regret it. And Sonny, please, please, if you could just be that incredibly understanding and kind person that you are and gimme another chance, please. You are the only true friend I have ever had. The only person who has ever believed in me, who has seen the good. I promise. I promise you I will do better.

I will. I will make amends. I will grovel to everyone I have hurt, especially you. Please, sunny, if you could just find it in that. Enormous heart of yours to, to, to forgive me. No. Please. No, I’m not making that mistake again. Leo, I vouched for you. I got in a huge fight with my husband because I insisted that you would change that.

You were like this better person, . I I am. I’m becoming a better person. I’m doing that for you. No. Oh my God. No. Will was right. You’re still just a despicable, selfish con artist, and that’s what you’ll always be, son. No, don’t say that.

Do you wanna know what the craziest part is?

I actually started to think that you wanna have a friend.

We were we. We are. No, we’re not friends. Leah, you are not my friend. You are nothing to me.

Now get out of this house before I have you thrown up.

I’d feel so badly for Sarah. I mean, she may be all fussed and fury when it comes to Xander, but I could tell underneath she still loves him. So, oh, Justin, there may still be hope for them, yet you are incredible. You know that No, of course I am . Not seriously. What have I done? Xander terrorized you. Okay? He made you so afraid that you didn’t wanna leave the house.

Now here you are sticking up for him, rooting for him to save his marriage. I’ve been where he’s been and I tell you, I feel for the guy. Hi. Tonight, Bonnie, my Love. You have once again proven to me that you are one of the best people I know and I’m so lucky to have you. Oh my God. Back at you babe. Back at you.

Sorry. Sorry, I thought you’d be done dressing by now. God, these Travis holes keep moving about. Oh, finally, it’s a liquor store. No. Oh. If no, you’ve had too much to drink, I’m just gonna tell him to get lost.

What the hell is this?

This pie is amazing. I know, right? I know. When your mom made it is just, it makes it that much more. I’m very grateful that I get to. Share this with you.

I’m just glad I found it. She would’ve been very disappointed if it had gone a waste.

And Chad, thank you for coming over. I don’t know if I could have gotten through this night without you. Anytime.

You really taking this hard, aren’t you? No. So what? The only woman I ever had feelings for, never wants to see me again. No big deal. Stupid question. Yeah, very stupid question. How does somebody not take it hard when you feel like your life is over? When, when, when you don’t know how you’re gonna get through the rest of the day?

Alex, honey, you made the fatal mistake of getting emotionally involved. See, this is why no strings attached is always the way to go. But for what it’s worth, I’m sorry. Nothing is worse than a broken heart or so they say.

As soon as Leo’s gone, I’ll meet you back at the hospital. Okay. Take your time. Getting him out of our lives is the top priority. Yeah, you were right about him. I sh I should have listened to you. No, I’m just sorry that he hurts you again.

I have to go. Okay. I, I love you. I love you too.

Are you gonna tell the police about what I did?

I don’t know. I haven’t decided.

Son, before I go, there’s one thing I want you to know.

I really did care about you. Your friendship meant means everything to me. Come on. You were just playing me the entire time. I wasn’t. The bond we had, it was real. It was sweet and special and great and I am certain that deep down, you know that’s true.

I am so very sorry, Jackson,

for everything.

And you coming here was a huge mistake. Sarah, this is not what you think. She’s right. Sarah, you gotta, you gotta let me

disgust me, Sarah, wait.

Young & The Restless Transcript

Transcript provided by Suzanne

Adam: What were you up to?

Victor: What do you mean, what was I up to?

Adam: You and kyle, when you were talking here earlier. What sort of collusion was going on?

Victor: Kyle is a nice guy. We had an interesting conversation.

Adam: [ Chuckles ] Come on. You can’t really expect me to buy that. The guy’s a bore. What were you talking about?

Victor: Family issues, son. I know you don’t give a damn about family issues, but I do. And I asked him how you were faring at jabot.

Adam: [ Scoffs ] I’m sure you don’t care how I’m doing in my new position. And you must know that kyle’s opinion would be skewed. He hates the fact that I’m there. So there’s no objective value in asking how I’m doing, which leads me to my original question — what are you up to?

Kyle: Harrison finally go down?

Summer: [ Sighs ] Yeah. It took four readings of “bumpy the camel,” but he’s finally sleeping peacefully. You know, I still feel kind of nervous about sticking around here and not going to paris.

Kyle: Hey. You’re safe, summer, both of you. I wouldn’t have encouraged you to stay if I thought you were in danger. You trust me, right?

Summer: Yeah. With my life.

Kyle: Good. Now, you know who I don’t trust?

Summer: Stark?

Kyle: That’s right, but also your grandfather.

Summer: Uh-oh. What did he do now?

Kyle: He wants my help in ousting adam from jabot.

Summer: Really?

Kyle: Mm-hmm. We just discussed it.

Summer: What does he want you to do?

Kyle: We didn’t get into specifics, but he would like it if adam had an epic failure that resulted in him being fired.

Summer: [ Scoffs ] I know that grandpa and adam have always had their issues, but I just can’t believe he would be so hurtful to his own son.

Kyle: I don’t think he was trying to hurt him this time. I got the feeling he just wants him out of the job so he can push him back into the newman fold.

Summer: Coercing adam to return by eliminating his other options? I just… I don’t think a family can be brought together through deceit and manipulation.

Diane: Mm. As fun as this has been — and it’s been a lot of fun — I need to get to chicago.

Jeremy: [ Chuckles ] Love it.

Diane: What?

Jeremy: The audacity. Stealing a piece of jewelry from nikki newman?

Diane: Shh. We don’t want the whole world to know. And it’s not just any piece of jewelry. Victor spent a fortune on it.

Jeremy: Oh. I love that, too.

Diane: And when I bring it back, you’ll know that I’m serious about getting back in the game with you.

Jeremy: You know, I’m so impressed by this plan of yours. Why wait?

Diane: Wait for what?

Jeremy: For you to get back from chicago. Why don’t I come with you? We could pull this heist off together — a taste of things to come.

Abby: Still thinking about it?

Devon: Yeah. It’s kind of hard not to. It’s not every day you find out that your father is trying to steal your company, you know?

Abby: Yeah. You know, I wouldn’t know the feeling because my dad would never try to do that to me or to any one of my siblings.

[ Both chuckle ]

Devon: Mm.

Abby: I’m kidding.

Devon: Mm.

Abby: I’m just trying to cheer you up because you’re so good at doing that for everyone else. What are you feeling?

Devon: I am… I’m feeling like you just being here is cheering me up. I’m also feeling like my life was going really well, like i was on a great trajectory and everything was moving forward. I was working with my sister and we had realized the dream of combining our companies and then everything just fell apart.

Abby: It’s just a setback.

Devon: Mnh, no, it’s not. It’s — it’s more than that. ‘Cause I told jill that I want to buy back hamilton-winters because if it goes public, it’s gonna end up in the hands of strangers — or, worse, people like tucker — and I don’t want that at all. I want to have control of it, and I want to run my company the way that neil taught me how to run it.

Abby: That’s a big decision.

Devon: I know it is. And I know it’s the right one, too, ’cause I can feel it. I’ve made way too many mistakes lately not trusting how I feel, between nate and everything that went down with him, trusting tucker when he showed up to town. It’s definitely time for me to trust my own instincts.

Lily: I’m really sorry.

Daniel: Thank you.

Lily: Thanks.

Daniel: For what?

Lily: Well, I said I didn’t feel like talking, and then i talked your ear off.

Daniel: Oh. Well, you know, it’s understandable. I mean, you got a lot on your mind. You and devon, you and billy, you and — I don’t know — somebody else.

Lily: [ Laughs ]

Daniel: I got to be honest with you — I kind of stopped listening after a while.

Lily: Oh, good. I’m glad I have someone to talk to who listens.

Daniel: [ Sniffs ] I feel the same way. Yeah. You know, I’ve done my fair share of sharing with you. The good, the bad, and the painfully unattractive. For better or worse, you get me.

Lily: I do get you. I wish I didn’t, but I do. Ever leave your clothes in the dryer

Billy: I’m gonna go order.

Chelsea: Hey, daniel.

Daniel: How’s it going, chelsea? It’s been a minute, huh?

Chelsea: It has. Hi, lily.

Lily: Hi.

Chelsea: I heard you were back in town. It’s great to see you. How have you been?

Daniel: Good. I’ve been good. Um, I’m happy to be back in genoa city in january, you know? I love these subzero temperatures.

Chelsea: Yeah. Are you just visiting or…?

Daniel: Actually, there’s something that’s gonna be keeping me around town for a bit. I’m working on a project with chancellor-winters.

Chelsea: Oh. Well, that’s wonderful. I’m glad to hear it.

Lily: Yeah, we’re very happy to have him.

Chelsea: I bet kevin will be excited you’re back in town.

Daniel: Yeah. Yeah. You know, we’ve talked, but i haven’t gotten to see him as much as I’d like to.

Billy: Well, you’re really busy working on that gaming platform, right? So not a lot of time to do anything else.

Summer: I can’t believe my grandpa would put you in this position. What did you tell him?

Kyle: I didn’t agree to help him push adam out. But I didn’t exactly say no, either.

Summer: Wait, so you’re actually giving this some consideration?

Kyle: Well, I don’t want to get in the middle of a newman family squabble, but adam has a track record of betraying anyone who’s close to him. He could wreak havoc on everything my dad and grandfather built.

Summer: But jack can keep him in line.

Kyle: [ Sighs ] I know my dad has a soft spot for adam and there were 10 million reasons not to give him the job, but he gave it to him anyway. I do not trust my dad’s thinking on this.

Summer: Why does jack have such affection for somebody who’s so ruthless and cold-blooded, anyway?

Kyle: I don’t know. I will never understand my dad’s allegiance to adam.

Victor: I’ve got to tell you very honestly that it hurts me a great deal to realize that you’re going to such great lengths to cut your ties to your family.

Adam: Yes, I’m sure it’s very frustrating for you that I don’t just mindlessly fall in line like my siblings.

Victor: That’s putting it mildly.

Adam: Well, I’m sure that you’ll get over it. You usually do.

Victor: Listen to me. I hope that one day you won’t have the same situation with your son, connor, when he grows up and tells you he wants nothing to do with you, he ices you out of his life. How would you feel about that?

Adam: [ Clears throat ] I think that sounds like a very far-fetched hypothetical.

Victor: No, son, no. That is how you’re treating me, son.

Adam: No, my relationship with connor is much different than what you and I have.

Victor: This is what I —

Adam: I would never do what you’ve done to me.

Victor: This is what I said about my own father. He was a bastard who left his family destitute…so that I had to grow up in a damn orphanage. And I swore I would not treat my children that way.

Adam: I’m sure we come from a long line of men who wish that they were better fathers than their own.

Victor: I’m not getting through to you, am I, son? I seriously doubt our ancestors gave a damn about the subtleties of parenting.

Adam: And, what, you do?

Victor: I do, and I have. And I’ve come to the conclusion that all we do is the best we can. Now, is that what you want to do — have a conversation from father to father?

Adam: I understand that you’ve had to overcome a lot to become the man you are, and i appreciate that.

Victor: But?

Adam: But you’re a ruthless businessman who claims to put family first.

Victor: I always have, and i do now.

Adam: Your actions repeatedly say otherwise. No, what you do is you use the image of a family man to justify some pretty abhorrent behavior. So, from my point of view, you’re a hypocrite at best. Now, is that the kind of father-to-father talk you were hoping for?

Victor: No. But it’s not unexpected. I just really wish that you would realize that all I’ve done in the past in regard to you is tried to protect you, educate you, give you the tools to deal with the slings and arrows that life will throw at you.

Adam: You know, what I found, dad, is what life usually throws at me…is you.

Victor: You’re crossing a certain line. However, I hope that your son will not one day tell you that family means nothing to him, that your love means nothing to him, that he can go to hell. How would you feel about that?

Adam: I just think it’s pretty low that you would use my son — a child — to try to pull me back into your orbit, dad. You know, there are moments in life when you just do what you have to.

Adam: Right. Because it’s always about you and what you want, right?

Victor: You’re damn right it’s about me, as your life is all about you. And I’ve done pretty damn well, okay? I’ve raised an enormous empire and a great family. And you, my son, were raised on a farm in kansas not because of my choice — because your mother wanted it that way, not I! I wanted to raise you here. You have never forgiven me for that. What will it take for you to finally come to your senses? I hope that you will never have to experience what I’m experiencing right now with your own son.

Adam: [ Sighs ]

Diane: You don’t need to come to chicago with me. It’s a one-person job.

Jeremy: It doesn’t have to be.

Diane: Yes, but I have it all planned out, down to the last detail. There’s not a lot of room for improvising.

Jeremy: Maybe if I just tagged along.

Diane: [ Chuckling ] Jeremy, you can’t throw last-minute variables into a carefully laid-out plan. It’s too risky. You taught me that.

Jeremy: You need more flexibility.

Diane: You know, I — I don’t get this. I don’t get this. If you’re willing to put the whole thing in jeopardy, it kind of makes me wonder what you’re really after.

Jeremy: It sounds like you don’t trust me.

Diane: Well, trust is a two-way street, isn’t it? I don’t need you looking over my shoulder. You asked me to do something to prove that I’m serious, so let me do it.

Jeremy: But if I knew a little bit more about your operation, maybe I could help.

Diane: No, no, no. This one’s all mine. And nikki newman will be screaming her head off, demanding that the person who stole her precious jewelry be brought to justice. That in itself makes it worth the risk. But I will also have the pleasure of presenting you with an exquisite piece, a tribute and guarantee of my loyalty.

Jeremy: Okay. Okay. The robbery is yours.

Diane: Good.

Jeremy: But [Sighs] Why don’t we go back to my room for a little nightcap before you take off?

Diane: [ Chuckles ] I am on a strict timetable, but I promise I will let you know the second I get back.

Devon: Lily lashed out at me for backing out of the ipo. She doesn’t trust my instincts that it’s gonna hurt the company and katherine and neil’s legacy. She said that I betrayed her, compared me to victor.

Abby: [ Sighs ] She’s just upset. You were both so excited about the merger. You were looking forward to it.

Devon: I know. We were. At first. Until I realized that the business was being pulled in a direction that didn’t make me feel comfortable, and then it made me rethink everything.

Abby: Look, I think you’re right. I think you should trust your intuition. But also remember you both went into this deal with the best of intentions. And lily is your sister. You guys have a bond that can’t be broken. This is nothing like the situation with tucker.

[ Cellphone pings ]

Devon: Well, speak of the devil. He wants to meet with me.

Abby: Okay. Are you going to?

Devon: No, I’m not going to. I don’t have anything to say to him.

Abby: Look, I get it. Tucker’s proven that he can’t be trusted. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t meet with him.

Devon: I — that’s the last thing I would expect you to say. Why do you think I should?

Abby: Because he’s obnoxiously determined and he won’t give up.

Devon: That’s true.

Abby: I think that you should just meet with him face-to-face. He’s not gonna give up until you do. And tell him that you want nothing to do with him.

Tucker: [ Sighs ]

[ Cellphone pings ]

Chelsea: It must be really exciting making the transition from artist to video game designer. Thank you.

Daniel: It is. Yeah. No, no, no, it is. Um, it’s a little daunting, too.

Chelsea: Well, I think it’s very inspiring. It must be cool making a big change like that.

Daniel: Yeah. Yeah. No, thank you. Um…kevin mentioned that you and chloe ended your partnership?

Chelsea: We did. We did. It had kind of, um, run its course, but she’s still my best friend.

Daniel: Well, that’s good. Yeah. So, what are you up to now?

Chelsea: Uh, I’m just trying to figure out some possibilities, you know, figure out what’s next. But, really, I’m just focused on connor.

Daniel: Oh. How’s he doing?

Chelsea: He’s great. He’s great. How’s lucy?

Daniel: She’s, um — well, she’s good. She’s good. She’s currently on this big, grand adventure with her mother.

Chelsea: Cool. Billy, thank you for the tea. Lily, always a pleasure. Uh, and, daniel, good luck with the project.

Daniel: Thank you. It’s nice seeing you, too.

Chelsea: Good night.

Billy: I’m gonna take off. Enjoy the rest of your night.

Daniel: Wow, that was very pleasant.

Summer: So, all things being equal, you would help my grandpa get adam fired.

Kyle: Look, if victor has a way to send adam packing, i think I should listen.

Summer: Getting involved with my grandpa is a slippery slope, kyle.

Kyle: I know. Mom. What’s going on?

[ Door slams ]

Diane: Oh, good. You’re still here. Have you heard from jack?

Kyle: No. Are you okay?

Diane: Oh, oh, yeah. I-I’m fine. I was with jeremy, who almost threw a wrench in our plan, but I-I handled it.

Summer: Is it even wise for you to be here right now? I saw you looking over your shoulder when you came in like somebody might be following you. Harrison and I were about to get on a plane, but we didn’t because I was told that no one is in danger.

Kyle: It’s okay, summer.

Summer: No! It’s not. This criminal from her past is a real threat. I’m thinking about our son here.

Diane: I share your concerns, but I was very careful, and I am confident that no one followed me.

Summer: But you’re not 100% certain.

Diane: Summer, I get it. You don’t trust me yet. But I am determined to prove to you that I am sincere about the changes I’ve made in my life. And if all goes according to plan, I’ll be able to put this last painful piece of my past behind me.

Tucker: Hi. Thank you for seeing me.

Devon: Sure. Come in.

Tucker: [ Clears throat ]

[ Door closes ] Hello, abby. Always a pleasure.

Abby: You can save your charm for devon. I’m gonna go to the restaurant. Call me later.

Devon: Yeah.

[ Door opens ]

[ Door closes ]

Tucker: [ Sighs ] Um… I know you’re angry.

Devon: That’s good.

Tucker: Yeah. And probably hurt. And I don’t blame you. So I’m gonna be perfectly honest with you.

Devon: Are you even capable of doing that?

Tucker: I just want a chance to explain to you, um, wh–

Devon: I mean, audra was overseeing our whole ipo move, and it turns out she’s been working for you this whole time. So, what’s left to explain?

Tucker: I know it doesn’t look good. I just want to tell you why i did what I did and what I really wanted. One prilosec otc each morning blocks

“The young and the restless”

will continue.

Tucker: When you first found out that I was your biological father, you wanted nothing to do with me.

Devon: I remember.

Tucker: Yeah, ’cause that revelation caused a lot of chaos and upheaval in your life, right?

Devon: Mm-hmm.

Tucker: Um, so I tried to be patient and not push any agenda, um, and demonstrate that

[Clears throat] I wanted to be a part of your life as much as you would let me.

Devon: Right. What’s your point, tucker?

Tucker: Well, uh, just… I wanted to be a, um, positive presence in your life, you know? I wanted to show up for you however I could. For instance, I encouraged you to get the surgery for your hearing loss, right? And so slowly — very slowly — um, what started out as a unwanted disruption in your life started to turn into something else, and a little relationship started to form. And, um, I think one of the most positive steps forward was when we produced the song together, right? I just loved that collaboration with you. And I’m pretty sure you felt the same way. Um, anyway… and now I just… I want to have that kind of collaboration with you again. I want to be a part of your daily life, even if it’s not in the recording studio, but in the executive suite. That’s my dream. And ashley was a part of it, too. Mad dream — pull together some massive family conglomerate with ashley, uh — hopefully my wife again — running jabot and you running chancellor-winters. Ridiculous, right? So, that’s my point. I… I just want to work side by side with the two people who mean more to me than anything else in the world.

Kyle: Hey. How’d it go?

Diane: What happened? Were you able to pull it off?

Jack: Well, there were a few tense moments, but it went smoothly, I think. Anyway, here it is.

Diane: Oh!

Kyle: Wow.

Diane: [ Gasps ] Gosh, that’s beautiful.

Summer: Wait a second. I recognize that necklace. That’s — that’s my grandma’S. My grandpa gave it to her a few years ago. I mean, that’s worth a fortune. Wait, wh– what’s going on? Why do you have it?

Jack: Summer, there is a simple explanation — well, not simple. It’s easy to understand. It’s —

Kyle: Stark wanted proof that mom was on his side, so he asked her to commit a crime to be sure she was willing to go to extremes for him.

Jack: He needs to know that she is criminally liable for something. That way, he’s not the only one in trouble if the two of them reunite and start working together again.

Kyle: And this is how we sell it. We present stark with nikki’s stolen necklace.

Summer: Okay, but how did you get it? I know that my grandma wouldn’t have loaned it to you to help diane. I mean, don’t tell me that you actually — you stole it?

Billy: Scotch, neat, please.

Adam: [ Sighs ] Billy.

Billy: Adam, not tonight.

[ Scotch pouring ] Thank you.

[ Sighs ] I’m serious, okay? I’m not gonna do this. I’m not gonna do this dance tonight where I take a shot at you, you take a shot at me, and neither one of us feels any better about it.

Adam: Listen, I feel the same way. You are the last person that i want to interact with tonight, and I know this because the second-to-last person just left here.

Billy: Oh, yeah. I see daddy’s drink sitting right there. Sorry I missed him.

Adam: Yeah, I’m sure you are. Um, so, I don’t really want to engage with you, but I feel like I have to.

Billy: [ Sighs ] What are you getting at?

Adam: You’ve more or less insinuated yourself into my life, and I am tired of it.

Billy: Are you drunk? You’re not making any sense, adam.

Adam: Chelsea, the mother of my son, okay? I know you were instrumental in helping her through the crisis — and good for you — but now you’re just taking advantage of her.

Billy: I’m warning you. Back off, adam.

Adam: You find it enjoyable that chelsea is vulnerable. I mean, you just get off on being her savior. It’s the one thing that you can cling onto in your life. You know, “everything is a wreck, but maybe I will boost my self-confidence by taking care of this poor woman.” Right, billy? Right? I mean, it’s the truth. It’s obvious. And I know that lily absolutely sees it, too.

Billy: Adam, are you not hearing me? I said back off!

[ Both breathing heavily ] Who says you can’t go for bold

Adam: I’m telling you the truth.

Billy: No, you’re blaming me because she’s not leaning on you anymore and it’s killing you. I mean, you are the main reason chelsea ended up in the situation that she did. You have caused her so much pain, adam.

Adam: No, she never said that.

Billy: No, I am saying that. Do you hear me? I am saying that. I mean, you’re pissed off because I’m supporting her? Are you that self-conscious? Are you that self-obsessed? What is wrong with you?

Adam: She doesn’t need you…

Abby: Hey, hey, hey!

Adam: …In her life, billy!

Abby: Stop. Stop. You know what I need? I need for the two of you to knock it off. You’re frightening my customers. And if you want to attack each other, go outside and do it in the cold. And tip your bartender on the way out.

Adam: I’m sorry, abby. I’ll be on my way.

[ Clears throat ]

Abby: [ Scoffs ]

[ Glass thuds ]

[ Chair legs scrape ] Are you okay?

Billy: [ Sniffs ]

Abby: Billy, what’s going on with you?

Jack: Summer, we are merely borrowing the necklace.

Summer: Where did you get it?

Jack: From victor and nikki’s apartment in chicago.

Summer: And you just walked right in and took it?

Jack: Yeah, more or less. I-I knew how to get in and i knew the code to the safe from my time there with nikki and — the important thing is, this will be returned to her before she even knows it’s missing.

Summer: How am I just finding out about this? Did you keep me in the dark on purpose?

Kyle: Yes. I didn’t want you to stress about it.

Summer: About grand larceny? Kyle, that’s something that i should stress out about.

Kyle: Summer, the necklace will be returned, no harm, no foul.

Summer: And what if you can’t return it? What if you get caught?

Jack: This will work, summer. This is all part of a plan to get rid of stark.

Summer: You know what, kyle? This affects more than just you and your mom. If this blows up, it affects everyone. I don’t want any part of this scheme, and, kyle I don’t want you getting any more involved.

Kyle: Summer, I —

[ Sighs ] I’ll fix this.

Jack: [ Exhales heavily ]

Diane: [ Sighs ] This is exactly what I didn’t want — to bring more turmoil to this family.

Daniel: It was just so tense between you and billy. I mean, I know you said that you guys were trying to keep things friendly, but that — that was painful. I mean, I looked over at chelsea at one point and I could see it in her eyes. She was like, “I got to get out of here. I can’t handle this awkwardness.”

Lily: Yeah, well, they’ve gotten really close, so I’m sure he probably told her everything already.

Daniel: Hey. Are you okay?

Lily: No. Um… I’m just really tired. I feel like I want to sleep for a week. But I will settle for six and a half hours. Um, I should go. Thank you for listening to me.

Daniel: Yeah. Hey, any time. You know that, right? Any time.

Lily: Yeah. Yeah, I do.

Daniel: Nothing better than having someone you can vent to whenever you want.

Lily: Yeah. Agreed. Um, have a good night.

Daniel: Good night.

[ Knock on door ]

Chelsea: Coming! What’s wrong? If you think all pads are exactly the same…

Devon: Tucker, I think that having the goal of working with the people that you love and building something together is really nice. That’s actually what I set out to do with chancellor-winters.

Tucker: Yeah.

Devon: But you have to understand that you’re never gonna get anything close to that if you keep going about things the way that you go about them. Because you deceive and you literally lie to the people that you say you care about just to get what you want. And it’s never gonna work for you.

Tucker: But in my heart, what’s m–

Devon: Who cares? What does it matter what’s in your heart when you use every dirty trick in the book? Or when you tell people you changed when you clearly haven’t changed? You said that car accident in monte carlo changed who you are? It didn’T. You’re the same guy. You said you wanted to get closer to me. You’ve done the complete opposite. You’ve alienated me, and I don’t want to have nothing to do with you. And I imagine ashley probably feels the exact same way. So, do you understand how you set out to get everything and you’ve wound up with nothing?

Tucker: Yeah.

Devon: You see that?

Tucker: Yeah. I need to make some changes.

Devon: I — I would say so. But what you really need to do is get out of my house.

Tucker: Isn’t there a way we can fix it?

Devon: I just told you how you can fix it.

Tucker: What can I do to fix it?

Devon: Tucker, listen to me. Look at me. I’m telling you how to fix it. Leave town. You never should have showed up in the first place.

Adam: I’m not here to talk about myself. I’m here to check on you.

Chelsea: Okay. Um…

[ Door closes ] Well, you don’t have to do that. Or pretend like you’re checking to see how I’m doing when really something else is on your mind. Adam, if something’s bothering you, you can just say it.

Adam: [ Chuckles ]

Chelsea: Okay, it’s been a really long day and I was about to go to bed. So, if you want to talk, maybe you can stop by tomorrow, but for now — look at me. I’m fine. Really. I’m just tired.

Adam: You were watching a movie?

Chelsea: Yeah, I was. Adam, it’s late. I think you should go. Please.

Adam: Okay. Okay. We’ll talk tomorrow.

Jack: Look, uh, kyle can smooth things over with summer. We have to stick with our plan.

Diane: Yeah.

Jack: I just pulled off a major heist. I think we’re committed now.

Diane: Yeah, I can’t tell you how grateful I am. You’ve gone to such lengths to protect me. Thank you.

Jack: Look, hold your gratitude for right now. I think it’s only gonna get trickier from here on.

Diane: Well, I am confident we can pull this off. I just — I just know I’m not gonna be able to sleep tonight. I just want this whole thing to be over.

Jack: Okay, don’t let your nerves get the best of you. You have a role to play here. You have to be utterly convincing, or stark won’t believe you. I am with you every step of the way.

Diane: And I’m with you. Your words are so reassuring. When you talk to me, I believe you completely.

Jack: Good. I believe in you. It’s like there’s this whole new layer to you. There was always beauty, there was always strength, there was always wit, but now there’S… this level of courage that i never expected. And I find it very attractive.

Diane: [ Chuckles ]

Portia: I’m not going to sit here and watch Spencer Cassadine worm his way into my daughter’s heart again.

Curtis: I get it. Just tread lightly.

Portia: Oh, it’s too late for that. I’ve already made that extremely clear, and Spencer knows exactly how I feel on the matter as well.

Curtis: I’m not talking about Spencer. I’m talking about Trina. [ Sighs ]  If you try to keep her from him, you might end up doing the exact opposite and push her straight into Spencer’s arms.

Spencer: Thanks so much for coming right over, Ms. Miller. Please.

Diane: My fee for an after-hours consultation is substantial, young man.

Spencer: I’m good. And I’ll cover your retainer right now to prove it.

Diane: Retainer? Is this a criminal matter? Spencer, you just got out of Pentonville. You haven’t had time to cash your commissary check.

Spencer: I don’t need a commissary check. But don’t worry, counselor, this is not a criminal matter. It’s more of a civil one.

Diane: I’m listening.

Spencer: It involves Esme Prince’s baby. I want custody.

Elizabeth: So you’re sure the police found nothing at Wyndemere?

Nikolas: It was as if Esme was never in the tower.

Elizabeth: But how?

Nikolas: Victor took care of it.

Elizabeth: Victor knows? How did he figure out what we were up to?

Nikolas: No. He knows what I was up to. I left you out of it. He doesn’t know that you were helping me.

Elizabeth: Thank you. So the police are satisfied? They’re not an immediate concern?

Nikolas: No. But my family is.

[ Monitor beeping ]

Esme: Oh!

Laura: Oh. Hi.

Esme: Wow. God.

Laura: It’s all right. It’s all right.

Esme: [ Breathes deeply ]

Laura: I’m so sorry. I didn’t want to startle you. I was trying not to wake you up.

Esme: You’re not a doctor. Are you a cop?

Laura: No, uh, just an interested party.

Esme: Then how did you get in here?

Laura: Funny, I was about to ask you the very same question.

Carly: My guess is Nina’s in the lab, getting her cheek swabbed.

Sonny: She agreed to be tested as a potential bone marrow match?

Carly: Yeah.

Sonny: Th– that’s why you came into the chapel? ‘Cause Nina was willing to get tested. You didn’t guilt her into it, did you?

Drew: Sonny, you got this all wrong.

Sonny: W–

Carly: It was Nina who laid the guilt trip, okay?

Sonny: What do you have to feel guilty about?

Willow: Get out! Leave me alone!

Michael: Not now, Nina.

Willow: Not ever! I want you out of this room. I want you out of my life for good!

Nina: I — [ Stammers ] I’m sorry, Willow, but… your life may depend on me.

Willow: You should talk to a shrink about that savior complex of yours. Get her out of here. On second thought, don’t give her another reason to drag us into court. Call hospital security.

Nina: I’m not leaving. Not yet.

Willow: Michael.

Michael: [ Sighs deeply ] You need to hear what she has to say.

Laura: One day, you just disappeared. Some say you went to Europe. And others say that you stayed here in Port Charles and committed some pretty heinous crimes.

Esme: Well, what do you think?

Laura: I’m not…

Esme: [ Coughs ]

Laura: Sure.  That’s why I’m here, actually.  Drink. You want to be sure not to get too dehydrated right now. So, tell me, where were you during those months that you were missing, and how did you get here with hypothermia?

Esme: I wish I knew. Thank you. So you sat here patiently watching me sleep, gave me a nice drink of water… Do I know you?

Laura: My name is Laura Collins. I’m the mayor of this city.

Esme: Wow. The mayor? Judging by what people think of me, I’m guessing that you’re not here to give me the key to the city.

Laura: No. I’m here because I am also the grandmother of the baby you’re carrying.

Portia: I need another drink. [ Scoffs ] [ Groans ]

[ Knock on door ]

Curtis: Portia.

Portia: If that’s who I think it is — oh, no, no, no. I got this. I’m calm.

Curtis: [ Sighs ]

Taggert: Hey, sorry I didn’t call.

Portia: Oh, my god! Hi! Come, come out of the cold.

Taggert: Thank you.

Portia: I didn’t realize you were back in town.

Taggert: Yeah, I came back when I saw all the photos of Trina with that Cassadine kid. Do I need to worry about my baby girl?

Sonny: What have you done, Carly?

Dante: Hey, uh, I heard about Willow.

Sonny: I’m sorry I haven’t called you. I just got a — there’s a lot going on.

Dante: Yeah, that’s okay. Uh, I stopped by her room, but Michael and Nina were there. I didn’t want to interrupt.

Carly: I’m sorry, did you say Nina was in Willow’s room?

Dante: Yeah. What’s her prognosis?

Carly: Willow has stabilized, but she’s in desperate need of a bone marrow match.

Dante: I should, uh, I should go get tested then, yeah?

Carly: Uh, Drew, can you show Dante where the lab is so he can get tested?

Drew: Yeah. Yeah. You got it.

Carly: Can I talk to you? Nina’s Willow’s mother.

Willow: Michael, tell me what is going on.

Nina: I-I don’t want to upset you.

Willow: Epic fail.

Nina: Willow, I am so sorry for all the arguments that we’ve had. The ugliness, the bad feelings. I’m sorry for all the ways that I have disappointed you.

Willow: You’ve said all this before. It’s just lip service, Nina. You never mean it, and this time is no different.

Nina: No, this time is — it’s very, very different.

Willow: [ Scoffs ] Why?

Nina: Because n– now I know that… [ Breathing unsteadily ] …You’re my daughter.

Willow: [ Laughs ] Your daughter. You have lost your mind.

Nina: No. It’s true.

Willow: Nina, please. Stop.

Nina: I just found out. You know what? They kept if from me. They kept it from both of us.

Willow: My mother is dead, Nina.

Nina: They said that. They did. But they were lying to you.

Willow: Oh, you’re accusing someone else of lying? That’s — that’s rich. Can you believe her?

Michael: Willow, um, I do. I do believe her because… …it’s true.

Elizabeth: Why would Victor want to keep evidence of Esme’s captivity in a storage unit?

Nikolas: Why do you think? Leverage.

Elizabeth: Against who? You? Oh, that’s disgusting.

Nikolas: No. That’s Cassadine.

Elizabeth: So this isn’t over? Do you have any idea where the storage unit is?

Nikolas: Could be anywhere. Even if I knew, I doubt I would be able to access it.

Elizabeth: [ Scoffs ] So that’s it?

Nikolas: [ Sighs ]

Elizabeth: Your uncle has the power to destroy us both.

Nikolas: No, Elizabeth. I’m quite sure he doesn’t know that you’re involved. Or he would have mentioned it. He has no evidence leading back to you or I’d already know.

Elizabeth: I don’t see how you can be so sure.

Nikolas: I can’t. [ Sighs ] But I promise that I am gonna do whatever it takes to shield you from any of the trouble that I brought you. And I’ll take all the blame if that’s what’s needed. But right now, it’s not Victor we need to worry about talking. It’s Esme.

Esme: You’re Spencer’s mother?

Laura: I’m Spencer’s grandmother. His father, Nikolas, is my son. You stayed with my husband, Kevin, and me when you and Spencer were together.

Esme: Uh, Kevin Collins, the psychiatrist?

Laura: Yes.

Esme: I-I met him. He looked so familiar.

Laura: Do I look familiar?

Esme: The — the guy who came to see me was telling me his name was Spencer. But, wait, I-I’m sorry. I’m confused. You said that Spencer is your grandson, but that I’m carrying your grandchild?

Laura: It’s a lot of names to keep up with, isn’t it?

Esme: Yes.

Laura: How about that? Is this the guy who came to visit you.

Esme: Um, the guy who came was younger. That’s him. That’s my baby’s father.

Diane: All right. Take it from the top.

Spencer: How hard is it to gain full custody of a newborn?

Diane: Well, there was a time when fathers were not favored in family court, but that hasn’t been the case for decades.

Spencer: What about custody being awarded to family members?

Diane: That’s a little trickier. And given your family’s unusual history, I would say that Laura would be in the best position to petition. And don’t forget, Esme will need to be stripped of all parental rights. But given that Esme is Esme, I see that as a possibility.

Spencer: What about a sibling gaining custody?

Diane: A sibling of the baby?

Spencer: Yes. Does that happen?

Diane: Well, yes. I mean, it’s rare, but in this case, there is no — Esme’s baby isn’t yours, is it? Nikolas? Is Nikolas the father?

Michael: Drew confirmed it. Nina is your biological mother.

Willow: No. No.

Nina: Are you okay?

Willow: No.

Michael: I think we should call a doctor.

Willow: No. Drew was looking into my family. He would have told me this himself.

Nina: Well, Drew didn’t know until you were hospitalized.

Willow: How did he find out?

Michael: [ Exhales deeply ] New information came to light.

Willow: And Drew told you?

Nina: Carly told me. Willow, we’re all very, very worried about you.

Michael: Look, I know this is a lot to take in, okay? We don’t — we don’t have to have this conversation right now.

Willow: If not now, when? I may not have much time left.

Michael: No.

Willow: There is no time to wait. I need to know how this happened. And I need to know now.

Carly: That’s why I came to find Nina in the chapel. I wanted to tell her that she and Willow were biologically related, and she needed to be tested as a bone marrow match.

Sonny: Okay, stop right there. [ Sighs ] How did you come by this information?

Carly: Harmony told me.

Sonny: Harmony’s been dead for — for months. How long have — have you known?

Carly: You know, what’s important right now is saving Willow. The details don’t really matter.

Sonny: Yeah, the details matter, because they matter to Willow, they matter to Nina, and they sure as hell mattered to you because you kept your mouth shut.

Sonny:  I just want to know if this is true and why you waited so long to tell Nina.

Carly: Yes, it’s true. And I can only assume that Nina is in there telling Willow right now.

Sonny: Why didn’t you say anything when you found out?

Carly: I’m not getting into the details with you. Okay?

Sonny: Yeah, well… you knew about this, too?

Nina: I didn’t know that I was pregnant with twins. My mother, Madeline, she gave my babies to two separate women. She gave you to Harmony, and she made Phyllis, my nurse, give Nelle to the Bensons.

Willow: Nelle was my sister. I fought my own sister in court. [ Gasps ] After I found out Harmony wasn’t my biological mother, I thought I had no blood relations. And now… it seems I have two.

Nina: You have more. I have my Aunt Liesl and sweet little James.

Willow: So if this is true, it makes… Wiley my nephew.

Nina: It is true, Willow. I thought I lost my only child. And you thought that there was never gonna be a chance for you to have a relationship with your real mother. Maybe this is a way for both of us to get something we never had before.

Taggert: I thought Trina was done with this Spencer creep.

Portia: Okay, let’s try to keep it down. She’s upstairs sleeping. And I know — I thought that she was done with Spencer, too. But apparently they’re friends again, no matter what we think about it.

Taggert: Oh, we’ll see about that.

Portia: I understand your sentiment. I really do. But thankfully, Curtis talked me off the ledge before I made things even worse.

Taggert: Oh, you did, did you?

Curtis: I-I was saying that I think we should give Trina space to figure things out for herself.

Taggert: No offense, but you’re not my daughter’s father.

Laura: Why do you think that Spencer is the father of your baby? Did he say that he was?

Esme: He said it was possible. It is possible, right?

Laura: The two of you have had, uh, quite a history.

Esme: I sure hope he’s the father. He was so kind to me. He told me that we used to be boyfriend and girlfriend, but that we broke up.

Laura: Yeah.

Esme: Was the first photo you showed me Nikolas? He’s your son?

Laura: Yes. Has he been to see you?

Esme: Not yet. But if he’s any bit as nice as you and Spencer, I wouldn’t mind.

Laura: Hm.

Esme: Can I ask you a question, Mayor Collins?

Laura: Of course.

Esme: I get the feeling that not very many people in this town like me. And it’s weird not knowing if I’m guilty of the accusations about me or not. I mean, someone in this town must have cared about me, other than maybe Spencer. You said I lived with you, right? Can you tell me anything about me?

[ Knock on door, door opens ]

Dante: Laura.

Laura: Dante.

Dante: Sorry to interrupt. I was, uh, hoping to get some answers.

Esme: I’ll try my best.

Spencer: Do I have a chance?

Diane: Well, the courts are not usually keen on taking a child away from both biological parents without good cause.

Spencer: It should be easy enough to convince a judge that Esme is unfit. Not only is she facing legal troubles, her state of mind and her health challenges — those are factors.

Diane: All fair points. But a good lawyer could argue all of that on — on behalf of Esme.

Spencer: Well, lucky for us, you’re not just a good lawyer — you are the best.

Diane: Well, flattery is nice. A good case is nicer.

Spencer: Look, I know that it’s possible. I know that it’s possible because Michael was able to gain custody of his sister Avery at one point.

Diane: Correct. And, yes, your Aunt Alexis won that case, but — but that was short-lived. Michael ultimately gave Avery back to Sonny and Ava, and now they have joint custody of their daughter. But I’m assuming you don’t want to just temporarily remove this child.

Spencer: No. If I get my way, this baby will never know either of its parents.

Willow: Can you give Nina and me a few minutes alone?

Michael: Uh, I don’t think —

Willow: Michael, please.

Michael: I’ll be close by.

Willow: This won’t take long.

[ Door opens ]

Nina: It’s a lot, huh? I’m reeling, too, you know? I spent years and years looking for my child, and the pain of that loss, it haunted me every single day. But I have a daughter. [ Voice breaking ] Who hates me.

Willow: Don’t put words in my mouth, Nina.

Nina: Well, it’s no secret that all we’ve done — you know, we fight with each other. But I am hoping that ends here and now, that we can move forward, that we can build a new relationship with each other, that, you know, we can look back on all of this with a new sense of wonder about how we’ve come so far. We can tell that story to Wiley, and then we can tell the story to the new little one.

Willow: You won’t be telling either of my children stories, Nina. I asked Michael to leave to spare you some dignity. But make no mistake — the fact that we have a blood tie changes nothing between us.

Sonny: You hid the truth from Nina and Willow, too?

Drew: I would have told them had I known.

Sonny: So this is a vendetta.

Carly: It’s not a vendetta!

Drew: Sonny. [ Sighs ] Carly wasn’t trying to hurt Nina. She was trying to protect Willow.

Sonny: Okay. Make that make sense to me, Drew.

Drew: Because Willow was furious after the visitation hearing. She didn’t want her anywhere near her family.

Sonny: Because she didn’t know that Nina was her mother, Drew.

Carly: Have you forgotten the hell Nina put Willow through?! Have you?!

Sonny: You know what? You can fool Drew all you want. You’re not gonna fool me. You weren’t protecting Willow. You were doing this because you wanted to get back at Nina.

Carly: You can think what you want.

Michael: Enough! Enough!

Diane: You have every right to feel betrayed, because you were, but you have no obvious legal right to your father’s child.

Spencer: Uh —

Diane: Now, look, look. I’m gonna be blunt because that’s just part of my charm. I am concerned that a judge will hear the anger that I just heard and wonder about your motive. So I’ve got to ask you — what you’re trying to do, is it in the best interest of the child, or are you — are you seeking revenge against Nikolas and Esme?

Spencer: I don’t care about my father and Esme. Although, yes, sticking it to my father would be the icing on the cake.

Diane: And there it is again.

Spencer: This is about saving a child from an amoral mother and a dangerously selfish father. This is about breaking a cycle. A cycle that I’m all too familiar with. When my father was not pretending that he was dead, he was choosing a woman over me. This goes beyond bad parenting skills. My father is a toxic and damaging person, so I do not want to sit idly by while he breaks another child’s heart or while he damages another child’s self-esteem… because my little brother or sister deserves better than that.

Diane: As did you. Well said, Spencer, and we can put forth that argument. But I got to tell you, the odds are stacked against you.

Spencer: What if there is something that I could do to even those odds?

Elizabeth: From what I can tell, it doesn’t appear that Esme will recover her memories any time soon.

Nikolas: Good.

Elizabeth: For us. Not so much for her.

Nikolas: A blank slate could be a blessing. Esme has no memories of the low-down dirty deeds she’s done. She doesn’t have to carry the guilt like I do.

Elizabeth: It’s a double-edged sword. Being spared the painful memories is kind of a blessing, but knowing there’s something you can’t access, it’s just torture.

Nikolas: Are we still talking about Esme?

Elizabeth: Like I said, I don’t think she’s gonna remember anytime soon, which makes Victor’s evidence moot.

Nikolas: Exactly. No, it’s a pile of junk. Even with Esme’s DNA, I mean, it doesn’t pinpoint time or location. I mean, Esme, she lived at Wyndemere for months on and off.

Elizabeth: Mm.

Nikolas: As long as she doesn’t remember, we’re safe.  [ Sighs ] It’s gonna be okay, Elizabeth. I mean, there’s no real evidence, no testimony. Means no proof or case.

Dante: Does this look familiar?

Esme: It looks like a Christmas ornament.

Dante: Yeah. You had it on you when you were admitted. Can you take another look? It might actually give us a clue as to where you were before you turned up.

Esme: [ Sighs ] It doesn’t look familiar.

Laura: May I look? Oh, it looks hand-painted.

Dante: Yeah, it’s probably part of set. We’re trying to figure out who made them.

Laura: Mm-hmm.

Esme: I’m sorry. It means nothing to me.

Dante: If you can think of anything, if anything comes to you, can you give me a call?

Esme: No. Why would I help the police build a case against the girl I used to be?

Michael: You know, Willow’s life is imploding, and you’re out here fighting like children.

Carly:  How is she?

Michael: On top of the fact that she’s sick, she’s having to deal with the idea that the woman who she actively hates, who she told to drop dead, is her mother.

Drew:  Okay, look, we are here for you, for both of you, in any way possible.

Carly:  I’m sorry. And we can put our disagreements aside and focus on Willow, but why the hell was Nina’s first instinct to go in there and talk to Willow and not get tested first?

Sonny: You have no right to question Nina after what you’ve done, Carly.

Carly: Go to hell.

Michael: I need to talk to you in private.

Michael: I can’t believe that Mom knew that we were looking for Willow’s family, and she didn’t say a thing.

Sonny: That’s because she wanted revenge on Nina.

Michael: I don’t give a damn about Nina. Look. Willow is my one and only priority, okay?

Sonny: Right. Okay. I want to help you. How can I help you?

Michael: By dealing with your feelings towards what Mom did later, okay? Away from me. Away from Willow.

Sonny: I can do that. How are you holding up?

Michael: [ Sighs ] I don’t care about me. I care about Willow. She’s — she’s devastated, and I have to make things better for her.

Sonny: That’s what you’re doing, Michael. You’re looking out for her best interests. You’re there for her as a partner. As a father. You’re doing all the right things, son.

Diane: What do you mean, “even the odds”?

Spencer: I was with Esme for years, and according to my father, he was only with her for one night. Who’s to say that I’m not the father?

Diane: That’s an interesting wrinkle. Look, obviously I am always and only about presenting the best possible case for all of my clients. So if you tell me that you’re the father, I will take that into court. But if you have even an inkling that a DNA test might prove otherwise, I’m not gonna go down that road. I will not be party to fraud. So if that’s what you’re looking for, then you’ve got to keep looking for another lawyer. And your father, don’t forget, can bring in his own DNA test. And what do you think those results are gonna be?

Spencer: Fair enough. Okay, Ms. Miller, what are my options?

Diane: Well, here’s my charming bluntness. Again, it is very difficult to strip a child away from its biological parents. That’s a long shot. And we would be fighting on two fronts because Esme, while she doesn’t have the resources that your father has, still has rights. But your father is gonna level everything he’s got at you. He will attack you. And you are fresh from Pentonville. Not your first stint, but your second. So you will be playing defense yourself.

Spencer: I am sure that you can handle that.

Diane: Yes, of course I can handle it. And I would present a very effective case on your behalf. But I got to warn you, Spencer, I cannot guarantee you a win.

Dante: Well, chalk one up for nature versus nurture, I guess. Right? Even in Esme’s supposed state of amnesia, her instinct was to protect herself.

Laura: Yes, I noticed that. That Christmas ornament — is that somehow related to The Hook Killer investigation?

Dante: We don’t know yet, but we are pivoting away from Esme as the prime suspect in the killings. Could she be involved on some level? Maybe. But there’s no way she committed the acts herself.

Laura: [ Sighs ] Ah, that’s such a relief.  [ Laughs ] Yeah. But she is still under investigation for the revenge porn charges, right?

Dante: Yeah. Yeah. And the drugging of Oz Haggerty.

Laura: She will be discharged from the hospital soon. Will she be granted bail or held in a facility?

Dante: You know what? That’s above my pay grade.

Laura: Ah.

But I’m sure the D.A. will be calling you, and you and he will have to figure out the right answers to that.

Laura: I’m not sure there’s a right answer to this question. No matter how we choose to deal with Esme, the public will be watching and judging.

Elizabeth: I should get going.

Nikolas: Wait. All that talk of memory loss felt personal. I should have asked you this before, but did you ever figure out why you were losing time?

Elizabeth: [ Sighs ] Sorry I never told you, but yes, I did. Sleepwalking, the blackouts — they were the result of the illustrious Dr. Carolyn Webber using her psychiatric expertise to repress my memory.

Nikolas: What?! Did your father know?

Elizabeth: Yes. Anyway, I know my situation isn’t the same as Esme’s. But I’ve been where she is. I know what it’s like to not be able to rely on your memory or to be confused by the lack thereof.

Nikolas: What happened? What made your parents so desperate for you not to remember?

Curtis: Look, I may not be Trina’s biological father, but I am speaking from experience. She didn’t appreciate it when I weighed in on her personal life, and she all but told her mother to butt out of her business before she went up to bed.

Taggert: Well, that may be. I mean… Trina’s always been strong-minded and independent, but [Sighs] giving your daughter space so she can make her own mistakes is a lot different than standing back and watching her put herself in danger. Portia and I, we didn’t let her play in traffic as a child, and we’re not gonna let her play with the Cassadines. I know that family — too well. Tell the Princess to call me when she wakes up.

Portia: I will.

Taggert: [ Sighs ] Sorry for ruining your evening.

[ Door closes ]

Portia: Now, you know that I value you and your opinion and your support. It’s just that when it comes to Trina, um, Taggert is territorial.

Curtis: I get it. I totally understand. And so for now, I’m just gonna go ahead and keep my parenting advice to myself.

Portia: [ Chuckles softly ]

Curtis: That is, until we have our own.

Carly: I can deal with Sonny’s anger. I expected it. But the way Michael avoided my eyes…

Drew: We all need a little time.

Carly: And if it… affords Willow more time, it will have all been worth it.

Willow: If there is proof that you are my biological mother, I will accept that fact. But I will never accept you. You continually tried to destroy our family, first by keeping Sonny away from his loved ones, then insinuating yourself with my son and ripping our reputations to shreds in open court.

Nina: Willow, you’re not well enough for this.

Willow: I haven’t been well for months. But that didn’t stop your torment. You accused me of having an affair with TJ when he was supporting me through my diagnosis.

Nina: I didn’t know.

Willow: You didn’t care to know! You jumped to conclusions because you have been hell-bent on taking me and Michael down by any means necessary. And this is the story you want to tell Wiley someday? Not a chance.

Nina: I thought that Wiley was my only tie to a woman who I believed was my only daughter. Losing a child left me broken and untethered. If anyone understands how that affects a mother, you do, Willow. A crime was committed against me. And you. You were taken without my consent. I couldn’t save your sister, Nelle. But I’m saving you.

Michael: I have to get back to Willow.

Sonny: Of course.

Nina: As your closest relative, I stand the best chance to be a donor match.

Willow: And if you are a match, what do you want in exchange?

Nina: Nothing… [Voice breaking] Whatsoever. You don’t — you don’t owe me anything. Do — do you think I came in here to emotionally blackmail you?

Willow: I don’t know… what to believe. I… I only know I don’t trust you.

Nina: Okay. I accept the fact that this might not change anything for you, but I want you to know this — when I leave this room, I am going to the lab, and I’m gonna get tested. Look at your eyes. We have the same… eyes. This might not ever change your mind, but you’re my daughter. And if I have the power to save your life, I’m not gonna let anything stop me. Not even you.

[ Door closes ]

Portia: Well, now, discussing parenthood in the abstract is one thing, but bringing a child into the world, I mean, that’s another.

Curtis: Okay. Well, let’s do more than discuss it.

Portia: [ Laughs ] I love you so much.

Curtis: [ Laughs ] I love you, too.  Look, honey, we have our entire future ahead of us.

Portia: And in that future, you really see yourself being a father?

Curtis: Oh. [ Chuckles ] I know there are no guarantees, but… hell yeah. I would love to continue the Ashford name and have a child of my own.

Diane: [ Sighs ] If you are serious about gaining custody of this baby, then I will seriously consider taking this case. But you’ve got to stop calling me Ms. Miller. From now on, you call me Diane.

Spencer: As long as I can call you. Thank you, Diane.

Diane: Don’t thank me yet. It would be a long and arduous road.

Spencer: Understood.

Diane: Is it? Spencer, you know what the most terrifying thing about wildfires is? Once they get started, once they’re lit, they are nearly impossible to control. And every time a case like this comes into a courtroom, it’s like a wildfire has been lit within a family. Look at Sonny and Michael, or more recently, look at Michael and Nina and Willow.

Spencer: I don’t have much of a family, especially not where my father is concerned.

Diane: Okay. But a decision like this will upend your young life. And it might impact every single one of your relationships. So before you call me again, I want you to think long and hard about how far you’re willing to go. Because once this wildfire is lit, it’s gonna rage with unforeseen consequences.

Nikolas: So sorry that happened to you.

Elizabeth: Well, I’m sorry your Uncle Victor is threatening you.

Nikolas: Ha. You got to love the irony of relying on Esme to evade both the law and my uncle. The fates must be laughing themselves silly.

Elizabeth: [Scoffs] We’re both at the mercy of Esme and her recollection. I know it may be hypocritical, but my self-preservation is stronger than my empathy right now. I just wish there was a way we could make sure she would never get her memory back. But that’s next to impossible.

[ Door closes ]

Nikolas: Never say never.

Laura: This is a very high-profile case, and unfortunately, I am front and center. I mean, I don’t like to sound like a politician, but I am painfully aware of the optics. Esme was my grandson’s girlfriend. She lived in the house with us for a while. The baby she’s expecting could possibly be my close relation. [ Sighs ] We can’t let her go without consequence. But how do we prosecute a woman who can’t recall the crimes that she’s alleged to have committed?

Dante: I don’t know. I don’t know. I mean, I don’t envy you and Robert right now ’cause it sounds like a nightmare.

Laura: Yeah. And I can’t help but feel for Cameron and for Spencer. Their lives were so impacted by Esme’s actions. How do we get restorative justice for them?  You know, if we take it on faith that Esme’s memory is gone, gone for good…

Dante: Okay. That’s a big if right there.  What do you think? You think she’s faking it?

Esme: [ Sighs ]

Drew: Revealing the truth was painful, but in doing so, you’ve given Willow a chance to survive.

Carly: I hope so. I pray, you know? Thank you.

Drew: For what?

Carly: For not making me feel worse.

Michael: [ Sighs ] Hey. Talk to me.

Willow: Why her? Why couldn’t it have been anyone else besides Nina?

Nina: Sonny… …I have a daughter.

Sonny: Yeah, you do.

Nina: It’s Willow, and… she doesn’t want to have anything to do with me.

On the next “General Hospital” —

Anna (to Valentin): Shut up or give up.

Victor (to Esme): I’m not one to challenge.

Martin: Everybody’s luck runs out.

Michael (to Chase): The biggest danger that Willow’s facing right now is herself.

Sasha (to Willow): Are you thinking of refusing the transplant?

Sonny (to Nina): As long as there’s life, there’s always hope.

Ryan (to Heather): Alone at last.

[ Dramatic music ]

Sheila: Well, you– you can’t begin to know what this means to me, hearing those words. Hearing you say that you love me.

Steffy: Oh, my god.

Sheila: That’s all I’ve ever wanted. It’s all I’ve dreamed of and now, knowing that I am… that I– that I approached you on a beach, you– you didn’t recoil. You didn’t tell me what a monster I was. You heard me out and I heard you and still, I mean, to think that it would– it would lead to this. Falling in love, but it has. I love you and you love me and that is everything, Bill. That is everything.

Katie: Wait a second. Sheila is free because of Bill?

Carter: That doesn’t make any sense. There’s no mention of Bill being involved at all.

Finn: Sheila wouldn’t be a free woman if it weren’t for your ex-husband.

Katie: That doesn’t make any sense. Bill can’t just wave a magic wand and Sheila walks.

Carter: Yeah, as powerful as he is, Bill’s not even capable of that.

Katie: I mean, how could he have made that happen? And what possible reason could he have had?

Finn: Look. The last thing Steffy and I expected was for Sheila to walk free. We’re both shocked and confused and–

Katie: Wait, wait, wait. You told the judge everything and they still let Sheila go?

Carter: She has a list of charges and there’s not even a full trial? Finn, man, I– I don’t get it. Why?

Finn: Blackmail.

Katie: Sheila’s blackmailing Bill?

Finn: No. Bill’s blackmailing Steffy and me.

Katie: What?

Finn: That’s what this is all about. Bill’s blackmailing us to keep Sheila from paying for the crimes that she committed.

[ Katie sighing ]

Steffy: Bill, don’t let her do this to you. Sheila is using you. She knows nothing about love.

Sheila: Well, that’s not true. I’ve been unlucky in love, until now. You heard Bill. He loves me and I love him.

Taylor: You don’t know how to love.

Steffy: All you do is manipulate and destroy.

Bill: All right, stop. Both of you.

Sheila: God, why can’t we just stop this, all right? We are all very much aware of my past and I have made some– some horrible decisions that I am ashamed of, but I’m not alone, Steffy, with that. Now, we have all made mistakes, your mother included. I mean, Taylor made one that I’m sure she will regret for the rest of her life. Bill kept quiet about your mother shooting him. He forgave Taylor and moved on, so why is it so difficult for the two of you to do the same? I mean, we could just– we could go on and live our lives. Steffy, you love my son. And I– I love Bill. We love each other. They say that– that love changes a person and I already feel that happening for me. Can’t we just accept the situation, please? You’re gonna have to accept it. You have no choice.

Taylor: Why is that? Because you think there’s nothing we can do?

Sheila: There is nothing you can do.

Taylor: I don’t know about that. I can confess. I can go to the police. I can tell them what happened all those years ago. I was the one who shot Bill. I can do that. And then guess what? No more blackmail. And you go to prison for the rest of your life.

Carter: I mean, Bill can be ruthless, yes, in business, but… I mean, Steffy is the mother to his granddaughter. To put a knife to her throat, to yours, too…

Katie: What could he possibly he have on you that would be worth blackmailing you over?

Finn: I can’t get into the details, but what Bill’s doing is reprehensible.

Katie: I’ve known Bill for a very long time. We were married, we share a son and I’ve seen all sides of him, good and bad, but for him to do this, to protect Sheila, I– I just– I can’t even imagine what he’s thinking.

Finn: Apparently, Bill and Sheila are in a relationship.

Katie and Carter: What?

[ Katie sighing ]

Taylor: It’s a simple solution, really. I confess. Yeah, I– I lose everything, but if I were to allow you to blackmail my daughter and me, it would be so much worse. Because that would mean that Sheila gets away with shooting Steffy and Finn and all the lives that you’ve destroyed, and I– I– I can’t let that happen.

Steffy: Mom, please. You do not have to do this.

Taylor: No, but I do.

Steffy: No, you don’t.

Taylor: Yes, I do. Look, I– I– I should’ve come forward years ago because if I did–

Steffy: No, Mom, you need to stop blaming yourself. You were protecting me. Stop.

Taylor: From Bill. From Bill. Isn’t this ironic? Here I am protecting you again and I’ll– and I’ll– I’ll keep doing it. I am not going to let you and Finn and Hayes and Kelly be in danger. Because he’s allowing this woman to– to be out on the streets, to escape justice. I’m the only one that can stop this.

Steffy: No, you can’t, Mom. Bill already bought a judge. He’ll buy another and another. He’ll do whatever it takes to keep Sheila out of prison–

Sheila: And you will end up in jail for the rest of your life.

Steffy: Can you just shut it, Sheila? Shut it.

Sheila: You know, whether you believe me or not, I don’t want to see your mother go to jail. Taylor, you saved my life and I saved yours. I– why can’t we just live our lives? I mean, we can go on in peace and live in love and be with our families. Can you imagine your life without your grandchildren? Without your daughter or– or your son? And from what I understand, Thomas could really use his mother’s guidance right now.

Taylor: Don’t you dare use my son and do not talk about him right now.

Bill: That’s not she’s doing.

Steffy: That’s exactly what she’s doing. I can’t believe you’re defending her.

Sheila: Let’s just take a minute here, okay, and catch our breath. Let’s start out by acknowledging a fact, that the woman standing before you today is not the same woman that you feared and loathed.

Taylor: Because you’ve changed? No, Sheila. We’ve heard that before. We’re not buying it.

Sheila: Yeah, well whether you believe it or not, it’s true.

Steffy: Oh, you know nothing about the truth, Sheila.

Bill: Sheila will not be a threat to you, to your mother or anyone else.

Sheila: It’s true because I have everything I’ve always wanted. To be appreciated, valued and most importantly, loved.

Steffy: Oh, my god.

Sheila: I suppose we should’ve expected it. Taylor turning herself in just to see me go back to jail, but the way Steffy was pleading with her to not go through with it… what do you think?

Bill: If something comes up, we’ll figure it out. Together.

Katie: This doesn’t make any sense. Bill is a lot of things, but he is not an idiot. He would never get involved with someone as diabolical as Sheila. Oh, we just heard. Sheila is free and it’s all because of Bill.

Finn: I’m glad you’re okay.

Steffy: Yeah.

Finn: I, uh, explained to Katie and Carter about the blackmail, but I didn’t get into details.

Katie: And we’re not asking. I just couldn’t be more stunned. I mean, I know Bill better than anyone. For him to defend Sheila and get her out of jail because he’s personally involved with her? I mean, it just– it can’t be possible.

Steffy: Yeah, that’s what I thought, but sadly, it’s true.

Taylor: Yeah, Steffy and i were just over at Bill’s and Sheila was with him.

Katie: I gotta talk to Bill. I gotta confront him.

Carter: I’ll go with you.

Katie: No, I think it’s best if I go by myself.

Carter: What if Sheila’s there?

Katie: I will handle her. The stakes are too big.

Sheila: It is unbelievable to me that in this very room, Taylor pulled a gun on you and shot you in the back. Thank god you survived.

Bill: Hm. I doubt a lot of people would agree with you. Especially now.

Sheila: Are you worried about what people think? Because I’m not and– and I don’t. Oh, wait. There was that one time where I came back for my son’s wedding and that did matter because I knew that the Forresters would be against me and that I was going to have to prove to them that I– I was a changed woman for them to accept me and let me be part of their family, but it really didn’t really matter because Steffy refused to accept me and, you know what? All of the Forresters didn’t and the Logans and that holds true to this day. But then, you came along. And this incredible thing happened between us. I never would’ve guessed in a million years that you would’ve been the man, the love that I’ve been looking for all these years, but you are. You always will be.

Steffy: You should have seen my mom. She really let Bill have it.

Taylor: Ugh. I mean, he’s– he’s blackmailing us. He’s blackmailing us so that someone as dangerous as Sheila is free. Free to terrorize the people I love.

Steffy: My mom still wants to turn herself in.

Taylor: Oh, there–

Steffy: Put an end to this.

Taylor: Yeah, well, there wouldn’t be anything to put an end too if I hadn’t lost control that night and shot Bill.

Steffy: Mom, stop. I know what happened is always gonna haunt you, but you can’t keep doing this to yourself.

Taylor: I think about it. I don’t even– I don’t even recognize myself. It’s– it’s like I– I don’t know who I was, you know? To actually pick up a gun, aim it and– and– and pull the trigger.

Steffy: Mom, you need to stop beating yourself up. Bill has lost his mind and he’s blackmailing us because he’s supposedly in love with Sheila.

Finn: What? Love?

Steffy: Oh, yeah. Bill professed his love to Sheila right in front of my mom and me. Like anyone could ever love a woman like Sheila. It’s like so vile. But, I guess the spell that she cast over him is working because he is committed to defending her. Bill is lost to Sheila and that is gonna destroy him. His love for her will destroy him.

Bill: Meeting you, the time we spent together, I finally know what that’s supposed to feel like. I love you, Sheila.

Katie: I know what happened. How Sheila avoided going back to prison, where she belongs. And you’re involved and I don’t– I don’t understand that. I’m just wrap my head around that and I can’t, so that’s why I’m here because I’m hoping that you can explain it to me because you don’t do anything without a reason. Steffy and Finn say that you’re blackmailing them and I– I– I don’t know why and I don’t really want to know what the specifics are, it doesn’t matter. I just– I’m just hoping that I could get through to you and maybe you could help me understand. I know you better than anyone. Maybe even better than you know yourself. You said that to me. You’ve told me that. And– and this is not you. Sheila Carter? Bill, you know. You know all of the horrific things she’s done. How can you defend her? Her presence in our lives. Her evil presence, it threatens all of us. Think about will. Think about our son. How are you going to explain this to him? How? How are you going to explain her? How could you even imagine her being anywhere near our child? [ Katie sighing ] I know you haven’t been yourself lately, and I’ve been really worried about you, I have and I know that you– you asked me to help you and I didn’t and I– and I wish I could take that back. I wish I could and I’m so, so sorry, but for you to do something like this, I– you’re the one who was responsible for getting her arrested and that was a good thing. That was good. And now Steffy and Finn are– are saying that you’re in some kind of relationship with her, which is crazy. It’s– it’s not possible. I get it. You’re– you’re depressed. I get it. You’re– you’re sad and you’re lonely and I know what that feels like, I do. I know what it feels like. It feels horrible, but I can help you. I can help you with that. You don’t have to turn to someone like Sheila Carter, you don’t. You don’t because she will hurt you. That’s all she’s good at. That’s what she does. You can’t allow her into your life and into this home. You can’t allow it, Bill.

Sheila: It’s too late for that, Katie. You passed up on the greatest man alive and he exposed you to a life that you could never dream of. He’s powerful and he’s passionate and he’s the love of my life and I’m the love of his.

[ Katie scoffing ]

Katie: The love of his life. You have to listen to me, please. Please, just listen. She doesn’t love you. She’s not capable of it. She destroys. And she will take everything you love and care about and she will break it. You have to get her out of your life. You have to. If you don’t, then we are at the mercy of her. All of us. You especially. You have to see that. Please tell me that you see that. Please tell me that you will do whatever it takes to send her back to prison, where she belongs.

Recap written by Suzanne

Portia is worried about Trina and Spencer being friends again, so Curtis tries to talk her down. He suggests that she might run the risk of pushing them closer together. Taggert drops by, having seen the photos of Spencer and Trina together. He gets annoyed at Curtis’ interference. He, too, thinks the Cassadines are too dangerous.

Diane meets with Spencer because he wants to get custody of Esme’s baby. She’s surprised that Nikolas is the dad and not him. They have a very intense talk about it. Diane isn’t sure he would win such a case and warns that it might blow up his whole life and that of his family and friends, but he’s determined to keep the child from the two awful parents.

Nikolas meets with Elizabeth to tell her that the police didn’t find any traces of Esme at Wyndemere. However, Victor found some evidence and is keeping it in storage in order to control Nikolas. He assures her that Victor doesn’t know about her involvement. They’re both worried about whether Esme might get her memories back. She fills him in on how her parents repressed her own memories. When she remarks that it’s too bad there’s not a way to make Esme’s amnesia permanent, it gives Nikolas an idea.

Laura visits Esme and asks where she’s been. Esme claims she doesn’t remember Laura. Laura shows her photos of Spencer and Nikolas. Esme says that Spencer visited her. She seems to think that he’s the father of her baby because they’d been together. Laura tells her that she’s her baby’s grandmother, which confuses Esme. Dante visits, too, and asks Esme if she recognizes the hand-painted Christmas ornament that was found on her when she washed up, but she claims not to recognize it. When Dante asks her to call him if she remembers anything, she refuses. Dante tells Laura that the police no longer think that Esme was The Hook Killer, although she may have been involved. Laura wonders how they can prosecute a pregnant woman with amnesia, and how she can get justice for Cameron and her other victims.

Willow orders Nina out of her room, but Michael confirms Nina’s story that she’s Willow’s bio mom. After demanding some details, Willow asks Michael to leave them alone. Nina is overjoyed to be Willow’s mom, but Willow tells her that this changes nothing and she doesn’t want Nina in her life or around her kids. Nina is hurt when Willow wonders what Nina wants in return for her bone marrow. Nina declares that she’ll save Willow’s life, whether she wants her to be her mother or not.

Dante comes by G.H. to get tested, to see if he’s a match for bone marrow for Willow. Carly asks Drew to take him to the lab while she tells Sonny how she knows that Nina is Willow’s mom. He’s furious with her for keeping the truth away from them for months and accuses her of just wanting revenge on Nina. Drew and Carly both protest that Carly was merely looking out for Willow, but Sonny doesn’t buy it. Michael comes out of Willow’s room to tell them to stop yelling and arguing. Sonny takes Michael aside and asks about how he’s doing, but Michael’s only concern is Willow. Sonny looks relieved that Michael is being nice to him again.

Audra: That sounds like a threat.

Tucker: Consider it a promise…one I intend to keep.

Audra: You blew it with your son, not me.

Tucker: No, you had one job! One!

Audra: Look, I did my job to a T.

Tucker: Eh.

Audra: Devon wasn’t suspicious of me until he realized that we share the same stupid phone alert.

[Scoffs]

Tucker: What? What are you talking about?

Audra: I guess he didn’t share that part, okay? But this is why he asked if we were colluding against him. Now, why would he wonder about something that could have so easily been dismissed as a coincidence? Because from the moment that he heard that you showed up in town in that ludicrous helicopter, okay, like the attention-seeking narcissist you are, Devon wondered if his dear old dad had an agenda to take over his company. Speaks so well of your personal dynamic. Oh. Have I crossed a line? I’m doing you a favor speaking the truth. You could have reconnected with Devon without all the secrets and lies. But whenever you have to choose between honesty and manipulation, you always choose the latter. It makes you feel like the smartest guy in the room. Only this time, your son was smarter.

Tucker: And now he won’t return my calls. And he’s cut me off from my grandson. My relationship with him means more than any company ever could, and yet he won’t give me a chance to explain. I just want to work side by side with him. I don’t want to… I wasn’t trying to rob him of anything. I wanted — I wanted to build something with him. Just like I was trying to do with Ashley.

Audra: Did things go south there, as well?

Tucker: [Chuckles] Yeah. I guess you could it’s not my day.
Audra: That’s life. Do you want me to cower and beg for forgiveness? Too bad. I am as through with you as you are with me. So that’s not happening.

****”””*†***********

Kyle: [ Sighs ] Hey, Adam.

Adam: [Sighs] Something on your mind?

Kyle: Wow. Is that what passes for “hello” these days?

Adam: You know, if it’s all the same to you, I would really like to enjoy my drink in peace.

Kyle: Huh. You know, I think I know what this is about. You’re having trouble dealing with the fact sally chose the superior brother.
Adam: You know, I don’t recall you being a particularly big fan of Sally’s, and now you are glad she’s involved with your father-in-law instead of me. Hmm. I doubt summer shares your enthusiasm, so you might want to keep that one to yourself.

Kyle: As usual, you’ve twisted my words around. I was just making an observation.

Nick: Son, when are we gonna start meeting someplace a little more happening? Clearly, this place isn’t taking off the way you’d hoped.

Noah: Alright, well, maybe not for a happening guy like you, but I seem to be satisfying all my other patrons. You know, besides, this place is my life now. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Nick: I’m as content as you are.

Noah: Okay, I’m gonna ask you something. Fair warning — you might not want to answer it right now.

Nick: [Laughs] Well, now I’m curious. What’s up?

Noah: This whole sally thing. I’m interested to know how serious it is.

Nick: How serious is the Sally thing? I don’t know, man. How serious is the Allie thing?

Noah: She’s amazing. We love spending time together. We support one another, and i appreciate her more and more every day.

Nick: Same.

Noah: Ah, it’s just — it’s that type of love I could really be grateful for, especially after all the Audra stuff. Every day I wake up and I am excited to nourish our relationship and watch it grow.

Nick: [Chuckles] You sound like a self-help guru.

Noah: What can I say? It’s special. She offers support and stability, consistency. It’s just — it’s really nice.

Sharon: I brewed this pot especially for you.

Chance: Oh, wow. Thank you. What do I, uh — what do i detect, a hint of?Cardamom, peppercorns, clove, and cinnamon.

Chance: Oh, wow. That’s why it smells so incredible.

Sharon: Well, I was inspired to add a little spice after our first supper club dinner.

Chance: That was fun.

Sharon: Yeah. I even decided to do a little research and take a look at what other types of cuisines we might be tempted by.

Chance: Great minds.

Sharon: Oh. You too?

Chance: Yep, and I got one question for you. How far off the beaten path are you willing to go?

Sharon: That’s a really good question. Hmm. Let me think. I’d be willing to try anything and everything.

Chance: You serious?

Sharon: Yeah, absolutely. Life is short. You got to use all of your taste buds, live on the edge. No more solo dinner ruts.

Chance: Ah, well, alright. Bring on the world, then.

Sharon: Why don’t you try that Moroccan spiced coffee? It was the first time I ever made it, and I’m not sure how it turned out.

Chance: [Chuckles] Well, thank you. I appreciate the warning. Ooh, yeah. Not bad

Adam: Okay, just spare me your advice.

Victor: It’s telling, though, isn’t it? Although you involve me as a villain in any of your stories, you always come crawling back when you need me, don’t you? And that time will come again soon. I promise you.

Adam: You really are insufferable. You know, with an ego as big as his, I’m shocked that there’s room enough for you at the table or enough oxygen for you to breathe. I’ve had enough.

Nikki: This is just what he does. I mean, he has some kind of turmoil going on in his life, and he tries to whip everybody up into a frenzy. Darling, you just need to find a way to let it roll off your back.

Victor: No, maybe I’ll try something else.

Nikki: Well, what else can you do?

Victor: Give him a wake-up call. He needs to hit rock bottom, experience a massive failure, before he realizes where he belongs. That boy’s getting out of line. And I’ve had it.

Update written by Barbara

At Society, Adam interrogates Victor about his collusion with Kyle, demanding to know what they were  talking about. Victor lets Adam know that he and Kyle discussed family issues and Adam’s position at Jabot. Adam tells Victor that Kyle can’t be objective about him because he hates that Adam is working there. Adam and Victor start arguing about fatherhood. Victor reminds Adam that he (Victor) had a horrible father, who abandoned his family and left Victor to grow up in an orphanage. Adam tells Victor that he (Victor) uses the image of a family man to justify some abhorrent behavior. Adam calls Victor a hypocrit.

Victor starts talking about Connor and tells Adam that he hopes his own son never treats him the way Victor had been treated by his father. Adam is appalled that Victor would bring Connor into the conversation. Eventually, Victor becomes exasperated and leaves the restaurant.

At Crimson Lights, Billy runs into Lily and Daniel. Lily and Billy keep exchanging sad, despondent looks. Chelsea picks up on Billy and Lily’s vibe, excuses herself and goes through the patio to return to her apartment. After Chelsea is gone, Billy heads to the front door of the coffeehouse, turning around to wish Daniel and Lily a good rest of their night.

Having witnessed what just went on, Daniel is supportive to Lily, telling her that he’s there for her any time and that it’s good to have someone to vent to. Lily is appreciative and tells him that she just wants to sleep for a week but will do with six and-a-half hours.

Adam winds up sitting at the bar in Society and having a drink. Billy walks in and when Adam acknowledges him, Billy tells Adam that he’s not in the mood to get into things with him. He mentions that he doesn’t want the two of them to take shots at each other like they usually do.

However, Adam isn’t having  it. He says that he doesn’t want to engage with Billy, but feels like he has to. He tells Billy that he has more or less insinuated himself into his life and he’s tired of it. Adam admits that Billy got Chelsea through her crisis, but says that now Billy is taking advantage of her. He adds that Billy enjoys that Chelsea is vulnerable and that he gets off on being her savior.

Billy suddenly rises from his seat and gets all up in Adam’s face and repeats his warning for Adam to back off. The men start having a heated argument with loud voices until Abby comes over and tells them to knock it off. She says that they’re scaring her customers and if they want to fight, to do it outside, in the cold. She also tells them to tip their bartender on their way out. Adam says he will go and he leaves.

Adam heads over to Chelsea’s apartment, where she was flashing back with a wide smile to when Billy fell asleep on her couch and she put a blanket on him. When she opens the door, she senses that he is upset and something is bothering him.

He comes inside and claims that he’s just checking on her. When he notices the empty popcorn bowls on the coffee table, he’s aware that she had been watching a movie with Billy Chelsea politely tells Adam that she was about to go to bed when he came over, and that she’s fine, just tired.  Adam leaves and stands outside in the hallway looking pensive, then frustrated.

Abby is in Devon’s penthouse finishing up a salad as they talk about Tucker’s betrayal. Devon receives a text from Tucker, in which Tucker asks Devon for just 10 minutes of his time. Devon replies that Tucker has five minutes. Abby suggests that Devon meet with Tucker because Tucker will never give up reaching out to Devon.  Abby says that Tucker is “obnoxiously persistent.” She tells Devon that meeting with Tucker in person is the only way to be rid of him.

Tucker comes to Devon’s penthouse as Abby is getting ready to leave. She tells Devon to call her later. Tucker delivers a long, heartfelt, sad speech to Devon, letting Devon know that all he really wanted was to work alongside his son. Devon listens as Tucker speaks and Devon  tells Tucker that he keeps reaching out to people he claims to love, in all the wrong ways. Tucker asks what he can do to repair things between him and Devon, but Devon shuts him down and tells him to get out of his house.

The Glam Club, Diane is flirting with Jeremy. He finds it appealing and tells her that he wants to tag along with her when she goes to Chicago and steals a piece of Nikki’s jewelry. Diane says that it’s a one person job and him coming with her would be too risky and put the whole plan into jeopardy. She also tells Jeremy that she doesn’t need him looking over her shoulder. He counters that he might be of help if he knows more about what will go down in Chicago. Diane deflects and ultimately, he  gives in and tells Diane that the robbery is all hers.

Jeremy changes the direction of the conversation, saying that he wants Diane to come up to his suite for a nightcap.  To avoid doing that, she makes up the excuse that she is on a strict timetable and tells Jeremy she will let Jeremy know the second she gets back. Reluctantly, Jeremy relents.

At the Abbott house, Kyle lets Summer know about his meeting with Victor and how Victor wants him to help set Adam up for an epic failure which will result in him getting fired from Jabot. She is appalled by this and by how Kyle tells her that he didn’t agree to help Victor, but he didn’t shut the plan down either. Kyle says that Victor just wants Adam back in the Newman fold, but Summer is critical of the deceit and manipulation Victor has chosen to make this happen. She warns Kyle that getting involved with Victor is a slippery slope.

Diane shows up at the Abbott house after her meeting with Jeremy, which causes Summer to worry that Diane could have been followed. Summer is upset by all the risks Diane is taking and how they will affect her family.

Shortly thereafter, Jack comes home from Chicago with an expensive necklace he stole from Nikki’s jewelry collection. Summer recognizes it as her grandmother’s and remembers that her grandfather gave it to her grandmother.

Jack and Kyle explain to Summer why Jack has Nikki’s necklace and how the theft is part of a plan to help Diane prove her loyalty to Jeremy. Jack tries to assure Summer that the necklace will be returned before Nikki ever finds out it was gone. Summer is outraged and rants about this plan being grand larceny. She lets Jack and Kyle know that she won’t be part of their scheme and that she doesn’t want Kyle involved any further. She runs out of the room in a huff.

Kyle tells Jack and Diane that he will smooth things over with Summer and leaves the room.  Jack then tells Diane that he is impressed by the whole new layer of courage he’s seen in her. She looks into his eyes and they kiss passionately.

General Hospital Updates

Update written by Dustin

At the Robinson residence, Trina revealed that she had been in touch with Spencer. Portia lectured Trina about remaining in contact with Spencer. Trina recalled how helpless Esme had seemed when she had approached Trina and Spencer on the Haunted Star on NYE, and she admitted that she did have sympathy for Esme. Trina wondered aloud if it were possible that her amnesia had changed Esme.

Trina said she was ready to move on with her life. Portia asked how letting Spencer back into Trina’s life would help. Trina said that Spencer had been there for her like no one else since Rory’s death. Portia then began blasting the entire Cassadine family. She claimed that she had tried to keep an open mind about Nikolas, but then immediately started picking apart Nikolas and Victor in particular. Portia very condescendingly added that Spencer was a convicted felon.

Trina said that one day she hoped they could see eye to eye on Spencer but she added that this was not a necessity because Spencer was her friend and she called the shots in her life.  She made it clear she was disgusted with Portia’s actions and words and retired for the night to her bedroom.

Curtis entered the room carrying both he and Portia a glass of wine. Portia asked if he had overheard her conversation with Trina.  Curtis said that he had heard most of it. Portia vowed that Spencer wouldn’t become a habit. “Not if I have anything to say,” Portia said.

At Sonny’s penthouse, Alexis visited Spencer.  She and Spencer discussed Esme’s claim to have memory loss, and he was still heartbroken at the loss of Britt. Alexis said that whatever Spencer decided about the baby it was imperative that he not hold an innocent child to blame for their family problems. Spencer said he would never hold a grudge against an innocent baby, but he was concerned that Esme might take the baby far away from Port Charles. Alexis nixed that idea, when she told Nikolas that his father was resigned to have total custody of the child.  When she told Spencer about the conversation she had with Nikolas about custody of the baby and how Nikolas didn’t want Esme anywhere near his child because she was unstable.  Spencer paused and said, “pot meet kettle.”  Alexis agreed and told him she had reiterated that point to Nikolas as well.

Alexis wanted Spencer to tell her about anyone that might have been loyal enough (other than the psychopath Ryan Chamberlain) to Esme to kill those people she regarded as threats to Esme and her child. Spencer recalled that Sam had looked into Maggie, Esme’s nanny, whose last whereabouts had been in London. Spencer told Alexis that Maggie had warned Esme in a letter not to have anything to do with her birth father. Alexis thanked Spencer for the scoop.

At the Port Charles Police Station, Jordan asked Dante for a lead on the hook killer. Soon afterward, Josslyn appeared. Dante, Jordan, and Robert started to formally question Josslyn about her encounter with the hook attacker. Dante showed Josslyn a grainy photo that he said had been taken 15 minutes before Britt had called in the attack on New Year’s Eve. Jordan asked if it was Josslyn’s life that Britt had saved. Before Josslyn could say anything, Diane arrived and ended the interview by looking at Josslyn and saying, “not another word.”

Diane, Robert, and Jordan were pushed out of the interrogation room so that Diane could confer with Josslyn. Diane soon reappeared and said Josslyn was prepared to give a statement. In the statement, Josslyn admitted that she had been on the pier during the night of the attack and that someone had attacked her with a knife. Josslyn claimed that during the night of the attack, she hadn’t seen anything that could help the police. Dante asked if the attacker had looked pregnant, and Josslyn said she couldn’t recall.  Josslyn said there was no need for this interrogation style meeting, she told Dante if she could have helped the police in any way she would have come to Dante on her own.  Dante agreed.

Dante asked Diane for permission to speak to Josslyn alone, and Diane asked Josslyn sho said that it would be fine. Alone in the interrogation room, Josslyn self-righteously claimed that Dante had “ambushed” her, and she gloated that she had “learned from the best” to not talk to the police. “Yeah, you did,” Dante said. So, what was the family emergency?” Dante asked Josslyn.

At the hospital, Drew told Michael that Nina was Willow’s birth mother. Michael was livid and his face did not hide his disgust and exasperation. Drew tried to console Michael and to remind Michael that the important thing now was to get Nina tested for the bone marrow donor registry.  Michael begrudgingly agreed and returned to Willow’s room.

In the hospital chapel, Carly said that Nina might be the only person who could help Willow. “Nelle isn’t your only daughter. Willow is, too,” Carly told a confused Nina. Nina became her typical self-righteous self and demanded answers from Carly, who explained that years earlier, Nina had given birth to twin daughters under medical supervision. “So, if Willow was Nelle’s twin, you’re saying that Madeline handed Willow off to…” Nina said. “Harmony. Your mother gave the baby to Harmony,” Carly answered without any doubt in her mind.

Carly admitted that Harmony had suspected that Nina was Willow’s mother on the night that Harmony had died. Carly later added that she knew for a fact that Nina was Willow’s biological mother, and she admitted that she had proof. Carly admitted that she had run a DNA test on both Nina and Willow and that the results were conclusive. This made Nina angrier as she accused Carly of stealing her DNA and then conducting an unauthorized DNA test without her knowledge or consent.  Carly said that none of this mattered because what was done was done; and that Nina and Willow were mother and daughter.

Nina remained skeptical that Carly was telling the truth, but Carly pleaded with her that now was not the time for doubts. Nina needed to be tested. Nina flashed back to a series of conversations and run-ins with Willow through the years. Carly continued to plead with Nina, who grew visibly angry. Nina rushed to the door of the chapel, but she turned to look at Carly again. “You made me feel like the scum of the earth for a year. You kept saying over and over how I was wrecking your family. What about my family? How could you keep me away from my child?” Nina said as her voice started to give out.

Carly said that Nina could lash out at her after Nina had been tested. “Don’t tell me what to do, Carly! Go to hell… you selfish bitch! I’m gonna go save my daughter,” Nina yelled. Slamming the chapel door.  Carly looked absolutely wrecked.

Sonny sat with Willow in Willow’s room. Sonny told an unconscious Willow that she was tough and that Michael would get her the best of care. Sonny said he wished he could take care of both Willow and Michael.

Sonny continued to praise Willow, and he thanked her for having never lost hope in repairing his relationship with Michael. Just then, Michael entered the room.  Sonny explained to Michael that Josslyn had to leave and that she had asked Sonny to stay in the room with Willow so that she would not be alone. Michael said he appreciated Sonny having stayed with Willow. Sonny left to give Michael and Willow space. Alone with Willow, Michael whispered that he needed Willow, and he pressed his face against her hand. Willow awoke, and she asked what had happened. Michael recalled that Willow had passed out and had been brought by ambulance to GH.

Willow recalled that Nina had been in the gatehouse with Wiley. Michael confirmed that Wiley had seen Willow pass out, and he said they would explain everything to Wiley. Willow surmised that there was something Michael wasn’t telling her, and she asked what was wrong. Michael said that what he had to say was about Nina. Willow coldly remarked that she never wanted to hear Nina’s name again.

Just then, Nina entered the room. Willow demanded that Nina leave. “I’m sorry, but your life may depend on me,” Nina said still reeling from the news herself.

Outside Willow’s room, Sonny chatted with Drew. Sonny was surprised that Drew hadn’t known about Willow’s diagnosis until recently. “Can I ask you a question? Carly’s in the chapel right now with Nina instead of Michael and Willow. Do you know anything about that?” Sonny asked Drew.

Drew remained tight-lipped, and he said that it wasn’t his place to share why Carly had wanted to speak to Nina. Sonny “suggested” that Drew tell him the truth. After leaving the chapel, Carly appeared. Carly told Sonny to “back off.”

“What’s going on, Carly?” Sonny asked directly.

Update written by Barbara

At Society, Nick is very surprised when Sally tells him that she will pass on drinking alcohol during their dinner. When he asks her about it, she comes up with the excuse that she wants to get a good night’s sleep and wake up refreshed for her meeting with Jill tomorrow.

As Nick and Sally are talking, Adam walks in and goes to the bar. When Nick notices him, he suggests to Sally that they leave Society and have dinner elsewhere. Sally says that she is okay with Adam being at Society while she and Nick are having dinner there as long as everyone “behaves””.

Since Nick knows Jill quite well, Sally asks him for tips on how to impress Jill. Nick tells her that Sally has already made a good impression on Jill or Jill would not have expressed interest in what Sally has to offer.

Nick also  gives Sally some do’s and don’ts regarding Jill.He says don’t BS her because she’ll see through it,  don’t try and fake expertise so if you don’t know something or get stumped, tell her this, and immediately follow up by mentioning that you know how to find the answer. Among the things Nick tells her to do are be straightforward since Jill is this way, be confident, but not too confident, and just be real. Nick is optimistic about Sally’s impending meeting with Jill.

Sally changes her mind about eating dinner at Society and starts coming onto Nick, telling him that she wants to be alone with him. Once they arrive in her suite, she starts getting Nick undressed, and tells him that she is going to take off his clothing piece by piece. She starts doing that and is hugging him and letting him kiss her on her neck, when over his shoulder she spots the bottle of prenatal vitamins that Chloe left on the coffee table.

Thinking fast, Sally persuades Nick to take a shower with her and has him go turn on the water. She says she’ll join him in a minute, thereby giving herself the opportunity to hide the prenatal vitamin bottle. So, her secret is safe for now.

Tucker arrives at Audra’s suite and goes off on her for messing up his life in Genoa City and blowing things up for him and Devon. He tells her that she was “messy and careless.”  Audra defends herself by telling him that she did her job for him “to a tee”. She talks about how Devon wasn’t suspicious of her until he realized that she and Tucker had the same phone text alert. She also tells calls Tucker an “attention-seeking narcissist”.

While Tucker is in Audra’s suite, Nate shows up and asks if there’s a problem there. Tucker tells him he was just leaving.  After he’s gone, Audra tells Nate that she’s sorry he had to see any of that.  Nate tells her that she didn’t ever mention to him that she knows Tucker.

Nate asks Audra when exactly did she and Tucker forged their alliance. She answers that she and Tucker go back aways. She says that she worked for one of his companies in London and he paid off her business school loans.  She adds that she is beholden to Tucker ever since then. She also mentions that she and Tucker shared both a business and a personal connection.

She also lets Nate know that Devon figured out she was a trojan horse for Tucker in Chancellor-Winters. She was supposed to help him take over the company when it went public, but their plan failed. She lets Nate know that this is why she no longer works for the company. She adds that Devon let her resign quietly, so as not to cause any public embarassment to the company.

Nate reminds her that she had told him she was done with her assignment at Chancellor-Winters and ready to move on. Audra refers to it as a lie of omission.  She also lets Nate know that she would understand if he wants to rescind his offer of employment at Newman Media.  On the contrary, Nate tells her that his offer for her to be his COO still stands. He tells her that he is in agreement with what she said about how “you play to win when you’ve already lost.”

At Crimson Lights, Kyle and Diane are talking and checking their phones to see if they received any hear updates from Jack. He is heading to Chicago to do his part in enabling Diane to pass Jeremy’s loyalty test. Kyle observes that Diane seems to be getting a kick out of the situation, but she assures him that this is not the case and those days are behind her. She also mentions that she wants to be rid of Jeremy for good but in order to keep up the ruse, she has to go to the Glam Club for drinks with him.

After Diane leaves, Tucker comes into the coffeehouse and Kyle needles him about how his plans went astray. Tucker says that he’s not ready to give up on Ashley, which prompts Kyle to let him know that he better hurry because she is leaving for Paris tonight.

Tucker high tails it over to the Abbott house, where he begs Ashley to hear him out. She agrees to listen to what he has to say but tells him to make it quick because she has a plane to catch.  Even with Tucker’s heartfelt apology to her and his urgent plea for her to stay in Genoa City, Ashley wants nothing further to do with him.

She does admit that she was starting to feel something for him again, but no longer wants to pursue it. Angrily yanking his scarf off, she tells him there’s no chance in hell that she would get back together with him. She brings up how he was a “crappy partner” when they had been together in the past, and tells him that he hasn’t changed.

Over at Society, Kyle comes in, spots Adam alone at the bar and belittles him by mentioning that Sally chose the “superior brother.” Victor shows up for a meeting with Kyle. Adam is suspicious, but Victor mentions that he wants to keep up on how things are with Kyle’s family, which includes his granddaughter and great-grandson.

Victor and Kyle go over to a table to speak privately. Kyle guesses that Victor is there to discuss his mother. However, Victor brushes this aside and brings up Adam working as co-CEO at Jabot.

Diane arrives at the Glam Club and joins Jeremy for drinks. He presses her for specifics about the crime she is going to commit in light of the looming deadline. Diane claims that she is headed out to Chicago to steal an exquisite, expensive, one-of-kind piece of jewelry and informs him that the jewelry is Nikki Newman’s. Jeremy questions how she will be able to pull the theft off, and she convinces him that she’s still quite the insider and can get away with it.

Phyllis is about to enter the Glam Club when she spots Diane and Jeremy together. She stays back and doesn’t go in, so she can spy on them and take a picture of them on her phone.

Later on, Phyllis meets up with Nikki at Crimson Lights. Nikki presumes it’s about Diane and says she’s really not interested in hearing anything more about her. Phyllis continues, however, and lets her know that not only is Diane back in town, but she was at the Glam Club with Jeremy. She adds that Diane did not look the least bit scared to be around him. Phyllis also mentions that Ashley is going out of town for a few weeks and asks Nikki how the two of them are going to get rid of Diane.

Back at Society, Victor and Kyle continue speaking about Adam’s role at the Abbott family company and how neither of them wants him working there. So, Victor suggests to Kyle “why don’t we remedy that?”

Days of Our Lives Update

Days of Our Lives logo

Update written by Joseph

Leo is on the phone with Gwen, hoping that she has come to her senses. Gwen responds that her answer is still no as she will not betray Xander and help send him to prison. Leo knows how much Gwen cares about Xander but suggests she always look out for number one. Will then enters the Kiriakis Mansion and remarks that Leo sure as hell abides by that.

Allie and Chanel talk about Allie’s son Henry being wound up. Chanel feels that Henry senses that Allie is wound up. Chanel says she’s sorry for everything Allie is going through. Allie talks about going through old pictures and she can’t believe Kate and Kayla are gone. Allie cries that she can’t lose Marlena too. Chanel hugs her and says she wishes she could take her pain away. Allie assures that she’s just grateful to have Chanel by her side.

Sonny tells Chad that Stephanie shouldn’t blame herself for not being there for Kayla since it wasn’t her fault. Chad says he tried to tell her that but she won’t stop beating herself up for turning off her phone. Sonny then reveals to Chad that Stephanie didn’t turn off her phone. Chad asks what he means. Sonny informs Chad that Stephanie wasn’t the one who turned off her phone.

Stephanie asks Alex to tell her the truth as she asks if he’s the reason that she didn’t get to say goodbye to her mother.

Leo hangs up with Gwen and greets Will. Leo thought Will returned to LA while Will thought Sonny would’ve seen through Leo’s act by now. Leo hopes he’s not upset that Sonny let him crash her a while longer. Will says he can’t stand the sight of Leo and thinks Sonny is being incredibly naïve by giving him the benefit of the doubt. Leo argues that Sonny is just helping a friend in need. Will says that he knows Sonny is a good guy which makes him an easy target for guys like Leo, who always look out for number one. Leo claims he was just finishing up a job interview on the phone. Will asks if he really expects him to believe that. Will decides he doesn’t have time for this as he just came by to drop off his luggage. Will tells Leo that if he sees Sonny, to tell him that he’s at the hospital visiting his grandma.

Chanel encourages Allie not to give up hope as Marlena is strong, brave, and battled Satan twice. Allie argues that Kate and Kayla were strong and brave too but now they’re gone. Allie declares that she has to get to the hospital to see Marlena. Chanel wishes she could go with her but says she will stay with Henry. Allie thanks her and says she loves her. Allie kisses Chanel and tells her that she will call if there’s any change as Allie then exits. After Allie leaves, Sloan shows up at the door.

Chad doesn’t get how Sonny can be so sure that Stephanie didn’t turn off her own phone. Sonny tells Chad to just trust him on this. Chad argues that they are best friends and questions what he’s not telling him. Sonny then reveals that he’s sure Stephanie didn’t turn off her phone, because Alex did.

Stephanie tells Alex that Chad called her multiple times and left messages about her mom being gravely ill that she didn’t get and she doesn’t remember turning her phone off, so the only possible explanation is that Alex did. Stephanie asks Alex again if he turned her phone off on the night that her mother died. Alex then admits that he did.

Will joins Allie at the hospital. Allie hugs him and says she’s so happy that he’s there. Will says his plane landed an hour ago. Allie mentions that Sami said she’s doing everything she can to get here. Will asks if there’s any update on Marlena. Allie says the doctors are doing everything they can but it’s not looking good. Will wants to see her. Allie says she does too but John and Eric are in with her now and they are restricting her visitors, so they will have to wait and pray. Allie repeats that she’s really glad Will is there so they can wait and pray together as they hug.

Leo goes to see Gwen and apologizes for hanging up so abruptly since Will showed up for a surprise visit. Gwen asks if Will overheard their conversation. Leo says he only heard him say that his motto is to look after number one but he covered his tracks. Leo assures there’s no way that Will is going to find out he had anything to do with Xander’s cover up. Leo knows that if he did, he would go running to Sonny so fast that he’d lose his only other friend.

Chad doesn’t get why Alex would turn off Stephanie’s phone. Sonny guesses that Alex didn’t want to be interrupted. Chad questions Alex admitting to Sonny that he turned Stephanie’s phone off because he didn’t want someone interrupting their alone time. Sonny explains that Alex specifically didn’t want Chad interrupting them.

Stephanie orders Alex to explain himself fast. Alex says it happened when she went to the bathroom to change as her phone started ringing and it was Chad calling again. Stephanie questions Alex deciding to turn her phone off. Alex argues that he didn’t know why Chad was calling. Stephanie asks why it matters and says it’s none of his business. Alex says he knows and that’s why he is so sorry. Stephanie tells him that sorry doesn’t cut it. Stephanie questions Alex policing her phone calls. Alex tells her that he only did it because they had wanted to be alone for a long time and then Chad starts calling, so he figured it was work again or the kids and he had just interrupted them at Christmas. Alex assumed incorrectly that the phone call could wait this time. Stephanie argues that it wasn’t his decision to make and now she didn’t find out her mom was dying until it was too late to say goodbye to her. Stephanie declares that Alex robbed her of that and she will never forgive him for it.

Chanel tells Sloan that it’s a bad time as she’s dealing with a family crisis. Sloan compares it to the crisis she put her family through when she killed her mother and seduced her father. Chanel argues that her mother’s death was an accident and she feels horrible for everything that happened to them. Chanel reminds her that the courts in the UK declined to press charges and suggests they both get on with their lives. Sloan questions it being that easy for her. Sloan declares that Chanel’s life is over because she made a promise to make her pay for what she did to her family, so she’s going to do exactly that.

Allie asks Will about his flight. Will admits it was terrible as he couldn’t sleep or eat while worrying he wouldn’t get there in time. Allie is glad he did since Marlena is hanging on. Allie asks where Sonny is. Will says he doesn’t know since he wasn’t home, but unfortunately Leo was there to greet him.

Leo wants to continue he and Gwen’s conversation. Gwen repeats that she won’t turn Xander in. Leo argues that the cops already know Gwen helped him by creating the website for the fake company. Gwen argues there’s no proof linking her to any crimes. Leo worries that they won’t stop digging until they find something that leads to him. Gwen realizes that Leo isn’t worried about her and is just worried about himself. Leo argues that Xander kidnapped the two women, not them. Gwen argues that the police don’t know that while Leo brings up that they already have evidence of the muscle bound bodysuit that fits him perfectly. Gwen says she’s sorry but she can’t turn her back on Xander. Leo asks if she’s prepared for her father to turn his back on her then. Gwen argues that it won’t happen but Leo insists that when Jack finds out that Gwen helped Xander, he will disown her. Leo reminds Gwen that she’s worked so hard to regain Jack’s trust, but all that goes away if Jack and Jennifer find out that she was Xander’s accomplice. Leo urges Gwen to at least agree to meet with a lawyer to figure out their options. Gwen reluctantly agrees and asks if he has anyone in mind. Leo responds that he does.

Sloan hands Chanel an envelope and says she wanted to deliver this to see the look on her face. Chanel opens it and sees that Sloan is suing her for wrongful death. Sloan adds that Paulina is a co-defendant for her role in covering up her mother’s death. Chanel calls her mother’s death an accident but Sloan says she’s tired of hearing her say that and calls it a lie. Sloan complains about Chanel making it sound like she’s the victim. Sloan warns that she can still make them pay and when she’s done in civil court, the only thing left of Paulina’s fortune will be the crumbs of Chanel’s bakery. Sloan then storms out of the apartment.

Chad questions Alex turning Stephanie’s phone off because he was afraid of him interrupting their romantic evening together. Sonny admits it was a very selfish thing to do but notes that Alex had no idea Chad was calling about Kayla. Chad complains that Alex can’t handle his friendship with Stephanie so now she didn’t get to say goodbye to her mother. Sonny points out that Alex feels terrible about it. Chad argues that he should because Stephanie is agony over the fact that she could’ve been there but she wasn’t because Alex was afraid of him interrupting his latest conquest. Sonny argues that Alex didn’t know what Chad was calling about. Chad shouts that he doesn’t care as it wasn’t his place to turn off her phone and now he has to go break her heart. Sonny stops Chad and reveals that Alex is already telling Stephanie himself.

Alex tells Stephanie that if he had any idea why Chad was calling. Stephanie argues that it doesn’t matter as he had no right to turn off her phone. Alex says he knows that and he just wanted to be alone with her. Stephanie responds that Alex got his wish, so instead of being with her mother while she was dying, they were having sex. Stephanie asks if Alex has any idea how disgusted that makes her feel. Alex responds that he does and he gets why it would and that’s why he would do anything to go back in time and change what he did. Stephanie argues that he can’t and now her mother is gone and so are any feelings that she had for him. Stephanie declares that she never wants to see Alex again and opens the door for him to leave.

Will tells Allie about Leo living under the same roof as Sonny and how it’s driving him crazy. Will argues that people like Leo don’t change, they just figure out ways to get more devious to prey on their victims. Allie agrees and is surprised Sonny would give Leo another chance. Will says that’s what Sonny prides himself on. Allie guesses they have to admire that. Will says he would if the person in question was worthy of second chances, but insists that there is no good in Leo and he doesn’t deserve Sonny’s forgiveness or friendship.

Chad guesses Sonny had to convince Alex to come clean. Sonny admits he strongly suggested it but Alex agreed. Sonny insists that Alex is not a bad guy and wants to make amends. Chad argues that Alex should’ve grown a conscience instead of turning her phone off before robbing her of the chance to say goodbye to her dying mother.

Stephanie questions why Alex is still there since she said she never wants to see him again. Alex argues that she doesn’t mean that. Stephanie tells him not to tell her what she means. Stephanie complains that Alex only hears what he wants to. Alex cries that he was coming here to admit he made a mistake. Stephanie mocks the idea of it being an innocent mistake when he purposely turned off her phone because he’s jealous of her friendship with Chad. Stephanie cries that his pathetic insecurities are the reason why she couldn’t be with her mother when she needed her the most. Stephanie adds that the worst part is if she hadn’t figured it out, he was never going to tell her.

Leo calls Sloan over to the Horton House to meet he and Gwen. Sloan says she almost didn’t show up since Leo doesn’t pay his legal bills on time. Leo argues that she got her money and reminds her that she got to steal back her file on Paulina and Chanel because of him. Sloan thanks him for being careless enough to not catch her. Sloan still doesn’t understand why Gwen wouldn’t publish her story about Paulina and Chanel. Gwen says she had her reasons. Sloan tells her that she missed out on the scoop of the decade. Gwen argues that any charges are not being pursued so her scoop is nothing. Sloan tells her that she’s wrong and says just because they skirted justice, doesn’t make them innocent. Sloan then asks Leo why she is here. Leo says they need legal advice. Gwen adds that they need to make sure the conversation is strictly confidential. Sloan laughs at Gwen sweeping another crime under the rug. Gwen asks if they have attorney-client privilege or not. Sloan says that will require a retainer so Leo tells Gwen to pay her.

Paulina goes to see Chanel at her apartment. Paulina says she rushed right over after getting her message and asks what’s wrong. Paulina talks about praying for Marlena and asks what is the matter. Chanel informs her that Sloan was just there. Paulina asks what the hell she wants. Chanel reveals that Sloan is suing them both.

Sloan goes over that Xander kidnapped Susan and Gwen helped cover it up, then roped Leo in, and now Leo is worried that it’s only a matter of time before he’s implicated as well. Gwen asks what their options are. Sloan goes over the crimes and laughs at the thought of them having options. Sloan declares that they are pretty much screwed.

Julie goes to the hospital and hugs Allie and Will. Julie asks about Marlena’s condition. Will informs her that she’s still in the ICU but it’s not looking great. Julie cries that she’s so sorry. Julie mentions bringing sandwiches since Eric is leading prayer in the chapel for family and friends. Julie then realizes she forgot her rosary.

Sonny tells Chad that he’s not proud of what his brother did. Chad accuses Sonny of making excuses for Alex. Sonny says Alex might be arrogant and full of himself, but he’s got a really good heart and will do whatever it takes. Chad questions how to make it up to someone when you kept them from saying goodbye to their mother. Chad shouts that you can’t make that up. Sonny reluctantly agrees. Chad adds that even if Alex was stupid enough to try, he doubts he will ever get the chance.

Alex knows Stephanie has no reason to trust him right now, but he came here to tell her the truth himself, because he is riddled with guilt and regret. Stephanie asks if he wants her to feel sorry for him. Alex says he’s just doing his best to be honest. Alex insists that he came on his own to tell her the truth and that he’s sorry for what he did and about her mom. Alex adds that if she doesn’t believe him, she can ask Sonny. Stephanie declares that she knows all she’ll ever need to know about the kind of man he is. Alex knows she is upset, hurt and grieving. Alex begs her not to throw away what they have. Stephanie says she didn’t throw it away, he did when he invaded her privacy, disrespected her and lied to her. Alex says he will always regret that as he wanted them to have a romantic night together but he made this thoughtless mistake. Alex swears that he’s learned from it and it will never happen again. Stephanie questions that making her feel better and argues that she’ll never have another chance to say goodbye to her mother. Stephanie asks if he doesn’t get that. Alex responds that he does, but he knows they could get past this if she allows him to make this up to her. Stephanie repeats that there is nothing he could do as every time she looks at him, all she sees is her mother lying in the hospital, cold and dead.

Chad tells Sonny that his problem is he spends too much time seeing the best in people. Sonny questions that being a bad trait. Chad argues that there has to be exceptions as some people are irredeemable. Sonny disagrees and asks if it’s more honorable to think everyone is dishonest and cruel. Chad thinks it’s more self-protective to distrust everyone. Chad brings up Leo and insists that he’s going to cause Sonny problems and let him down because that is who he is and what he does.

Leo tells Sloan that there has to be something she can do since this is small compared to getting him off from murder. Sloan argues that was a murder he didn’t commit so it’s very different since they actually did help Xander in these crimes. Leo insists that if anyone can get them off, it’s her. Leo praises Sloan as a lawyer. Sloan calls it a pipe dream to get them out of this unscathed. Sloan offers to cut a deal where they will testify about Xander in court. Leo tells Gwen that he told her they should flip on him. Leo explains to Sloan that Gwen doesn’t want to turn on Xander because she’s in love with him. Gwen insists that they are just friends but she is not selling Xander out no matter what. Gwen decides if there is nothing more, she’s leaving and they can see themselves out. Gwen then exits. Sloan remarks that she can’t make them take the plea deal so she’s out too. Leo stops her and says he has a proposition for her.

Julie tells Allie and Will that she was rushing to get there that she forgot to pack the rosary. Will offers to go get it but Julie says he needs to be there for Marlena. Allie points out that they are restricting Marlena’s visitors right now anyway. Will insists that he will go get the rosary and be back soon. Julie thanks him as he exits. Julie knows how much Allie loves Marlena and how hard this is for her, but encourages that she’s strong just like Marlena and Sami, so she will get through this. Allie responds that she has to be strong for her son, Henry. Julie says their children and all the people they love need them as they hug. Allie has one of Julie’s sandwiches which she says hit the spot. Julie guesses that’s the first time she ate today and advises her to take care of herself. Julie asks how things are going with Allie and Chanel. Allie says Chanel has been amazing through all of this and been her rock even while dealing with her own family drama. Julie thought things were better for Chanel and Paulina after the murder charges were dropped. Allie says they have been, but she’s worried that Sloan is going to continue to cause trouble because she is determined to get revenge.

Paulina complains about Sloan not knowing when to quit. Chanel worries that this is bad and Sloan isn’t going to stop until they have nothing left. Paulina assures it’s not the end of the world. Chanel thought she’d be more upset about the lawsuit. Paulina says with as much money as she has, lawsuits come with the territory. Paulina insists that her attorneys will make mince meat out of Sloan.

Sloan questions Leo having another proposition. Leo asks what if they leave Gwen out of the plea deal and he can testify against Xander alone, saying he hired him to wear the clown suit, not Gwen. Sloan calls that a lie but says she doesn’t have a problem with that. Leo says the only problem is that he needs to testify anonymously. Sloan says she’s sure Gwen will still find out. Leo says he’s not worried about that as they always go back and forth but at least they would be free. Sloan questions why be anonymous if he’s not worried about Gwen finding out. Leo responds that it’s because of Sonny. Sloan questions what he has to do with this. Leo states that Sonny is his friend who believed in him when no one else would. Will appears in the house as Leo tells Sloan that he can’t have Sonny finding out that he’s involved in something like this.

Sonny asks if Chad sees him as a pathetic tool stumbling around to be taken advantage of. Chad says he just meant that he’s too trusting. Sonny says he chooses to give people like Leo and Alex the benefit of the doubt because they could all use a little redemption from time to time. Chad says they do once in awhile, but in this case, Alex deprived Stephanie of her last goodbye to her mother, so he doubts Stephanie will be as forgiving as Sonny is.

Alex apologizes to Stephanie for robbing her of her last moments with her mom and says he will spend the rest of his life trying to make up for it if she lets him. Stephanie says he can spend eternity trying to make it up to her but nothing he ever says or does will give her back what he took from her. Alex pleads with her but Stephanie declares that she’s done and wants him to leave. Alex tries to argue but Stephanie tells him to respect her wishes and go. Alex then exits as Stephanie breaks down crying.
