Primetime TV Review: A Harvest Homecoming

TV Review!

“A Harvest Homecoming” Review on by Eva 10/9/2023

A Harvest Homecoming is part of Great American Autumn movies series, from Great American Family Channel, which airs a fall-themed movie every Saturday night.

The movie centers around Drew Clark (Trevor Donavan) a substitute teacher who comes home to his hometown of Chestnut Hollow, Texas to substitute teach for a few weeks. Drew meets Aiden Ross (Luxton Hand) and his mother Lainie Ross (Jessica Lowndes) who help Drew realize how much he has missed his family. Drew’s parents have an apple orchard and cider mill which Lainie helps Drew’s parents to manage.

This movie was very sweet and funny. I enjoyed it very much. The second story in the movie involved Drew’s Grandpa Joe (Roger Dunn) trying to impress Miss Francine (Eve Crawford). I have to say that this was my favorite story in the movie.

Trevor Donovan and Jessica Lowndes have great chemistry together as a couple and you root for them to get together. Trevor Donovan even sings a song he wrote called Fields of Gold for the movie.

I give this movie 5 out of 5 stars. If you missed the movie, check your DVR guide because Great American Family channel airs their movies several times. You can also stream this movie on pureflix.com.

Primetime TV Review: Mystery Island

TV Review!

“Mystery Island” Review on by Eva 10/9/2023

I enjoy watching mystery movies on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. I wanted to watch Mystery Island because the scenery on the commercial looked beautiful. I later found out that the movie was filmed in Panama City, Panama.

The movie centers around Dr. Emily Priestly (Emily Henstridge) a phycology consultant for Scotland Yard. Emily decides to take a vacation when a serial killer threatens her. So, she takes a vacation with her best friend Baroness Jane Walcott (Kezia Burrows) to Mystery Island. Jane is an investor in the island which hosts murder mystery weekends. The people who come for the weekend solve a staged mystery using actors. A famous mystery writer, John Murtaugh (Robert Getman), came up with the idea for mystery Island. The mystery becomes real when the author and creator of Mystery Island is found dead. Detective Jason Trent (Charlie Weber) asks Emily to help him figure out the identity of the killer. I have said too much about the story, so I won’t say anymore because I don’t want to ruin the movie for you.

I enjoyed this movie except I felt the ending of the movie was rushed. I like it better when the resolution of the mystery is explained more slowly. I have a feeling this movie is the first in a series of movies, so I hope they will fix this problem. The chemistry between Jason and Emily isn’t bad but I hope it will get better if they make more movies. I also wish they would go to different islands to solve mysteries sometimes, not just stay on mystery island.

Days of Our Lives Update

Days of Our Lives logo

Update written by Joseph

Vivian goes to Gabi’s room at the DiMera Mansion and says she’s glad she caught her before she left. Gabi tells Vivian to leave because she was about to get changed for a meeting at DiMera. Vivian tells Gabi that it doesn’t matter what she wears because she’s going to be the one sitting at the meeting which Gabi questions. Vivian responds that since Maggie kicked her out of Titan, the only place for her to be is at her son Stefan’s side.

Maggie returns to the Titan office and dumps Vivian’s nameplate in the trash before putting her own back on the desk. Alex walks in and asks what she’s doing there.

At the hospital, Leo complains about needing service for Dimitri. Kristen then arrives off the elevator.

Dimitri wakes up in his hospital bed to see Gwen, who says she could kill him for worrying her like that and then calls him a bastard.

Stefan sits in the living room of the DiMera Mansion, reading the Spectator article about Dimitri being shot in the DiMera Mansion until Jada walks in. Stefan assumes that she’s there for follow up questions about Dimitri’s shooting. Jada responds that she just has one and asks why he lied to her.

Kristen greets Leo. Leo responds that he knows what she did because Gwen told him about her diabolical plan to kill his boyfriend. Kristen thinks back to pulling a gun on Dimitri. Leo argues that Kristen went through with it even after Gwen told him that she called it off. Kristen insists that she did call it off. Leo questions if she’s going to claim to have had a change of heart. Kristen swears to Leo that she did not shoot Dimitri. Leo doesn’t believe her but questions who the hell did if it wasn’t her.

Vivian tells Gabi that she doesn’t need to worry about business now that she’s here and she can just be a real housewife of Salem. Gabi responds that she hates to disappoint her, but no matter how much Vivian tries to charm them, she is not going to take her job. Gabi warns Vivian not to get too comfortable in the house either. Vivian acknowledges Gabi as her new daughter in lie and advises her not to underestimate her. Vivian declares that she’s not leaving the house and warns Gabi that if she gets in her way, she will regret it.

Stefan repeats to Jada that he and Gabi were upstairs when they heard a gunshot, then they came in and found Dimitri bleeding on the floor. Jada informs him that they dusted the gun for prints and found Dimitri’s but they also found Kristen’s prints on them too. Stefan says it must have been Kristen that shot him then. Jada says that Kristen didn’t and the prints don’t even matter because the bullet didn’t match the gun. Jada states that Dimitri was shot with another gun.

Dimitri asks Gwen what happened. Gwen informs him that he was shot and asks if it’s much of a surprise considering what a dirtbag he is that it was bound to happen eventually. Gwen states that Dimitri lied to her and got her to marry him so he could inherit the Von Leuschner fortune, while having an affair with her best friend. Dimitri admits that was a despicable thing to do and says he is so sorry. Gwen mocks him and says that sorry just isn’t going to cut it as he pulls out a scalpel and says that will.

Alex tells Maggie that he didn’t expect to see her at Titan. They talk about Vivian trying to mark her territory. Maggie explains that she had the pleasure of ousting Vivian from the house and the company and reclaiming her job as CEO. Alex says he’s glad and wishes he could’ve been there to see Maggie kick Vivian to the curb, but reveals that Victor left him in charge of Titan according to his will which shocks Maggie. Alex brings a copy of the will to prove that Victor named him as CEO of Titan. Maggie argues that Victor didn’t name a CEO in his will. Alex shows her where it says that controlling interest in Titan is to go to him. Alex says he might not have named him CEO but he clearly spelled out his wishes. Maggie argues that Victor made his wishes clear when he was alive by making her CEO and he could’ve made Alex CEO but he didn’t. Maggie feels that if Victor wanted Alex to be CEO after he died, then he would’ve mentioned it. Alex argues that maybe Victor was in a hurry when he made the will or didn’t think it was necessary because he gave him controlling interest which means he’s in control. Alex tells Maggie not to fight him on this as he’s considered his options very carefully and he wants the job.

Stefan questions Jada saying that Dimitri was shot with another gun. Jada warns that if Stefan knows what really happened and is trying to hide it, she will get to the bottom of it and won’t hesitate to lock him up. Gabi then rushes in and tells Jada that she can’t lock Stefan up because he had nothing to do with this. Gabi then reveals that the person who shot Dimitri was her mother in law, Vivian Alamain, upsetting Stefan.

Vivian checks her purse in the hallway and wonders where her gun is.

Jada questions that Vivian shot Dimitri. Gabi confirms it by presenting the gun to her.

Kristen tells Leo that she doesn’t know who shot Dimitri and argues that Leo is hardly in a position to judge anyone since he was screwing Dimitri while screwing over Gwen. Leo argues that Kristen doesn’t care about Gwen and only cares about her half of the money. Leo declares he’s going to go check on his boyfriend and walks away.

Dimitri questions Gwen finding a scalpel. Gwen explains that somebody left it out on a tray. Dimitri asks what she plans to do with it. Gwen responds that she had a few ideas and then she remembered how Leo just wouldn’t shut up about Dimitri’s magic penis. Gwen suggests she could work a little bit of magic of her own and make it disappear. Dimitri pleads with her. Gwen remarks that it’s been awhile since she’s seen it herself and admits she was infatuated with it, but she’s not remembering why. Gwen suggests refreshing her memory as she lifts his blanket. Gwen comments on Leo falling in love with Dimitri. Dimitri tries screaming for help. Gwen tells him it will only take a minute as Leo walks in and questions what the hell she is doing.

Stefan questions what the hell Gabi is doing. Gabi responds that she’s telling the truth and she knows he wants to protect his mother, but if she has to choose between Stefan and Vivian, she’s choosing him every time. Gabi shouts that she’s not going to let Stefan go down for Vivian which Stefan calls unfair. Vivian then walks in, asking if anyone has seen her gun.

Maggie understands that Alex’s world has been turned upside down by finding out that Victor is his father. Alex argues that Titan is his birthright and that Victor knew he was cut out for the job. Maggie asks if this is payback for firing Alex. Alex admits he didn’t agree with some of the things that Maggie did while running Titan, but claims it’s not retaliation and that he’s taking the job because Victor was his father and this is clearly what he wanted.

Vivian complains about Gabi giving her gun to Jada and argues that Dimitri was threatening to kill Stefan and she couldn’t go through that again. Vivian adds that shooting someone in self defense is not illegal. Stefan confirms that Dimitri was trying to kill him and Gabi and that he likely would have if Vivian did not intervene. Stefan states that is why he had a hard time turning her in. Gabi adds that they want to press charges against Dimitri. Gabi and Stefan say they are willing to testify. Jada points out that this might mitigate Vivian’s attempted murder charge, but they lied to police and having a gun is in violation of Vivian’s parole, so she will be speaking to her parole officer. Jada then exits the mansion while Stefan and Vivian glare at Gabi.

Marlena is in her office, on the phone talking about Susan being alive. Kate walks in and tells Marlena that she’s sorry to barge in. Kate mentions hearing that Susan is alive but says she needs to talk about Philip. Marlena asks if he’s alright. Kate responds that he’s fine but she’s not because Philip is leaving town with Chloe.

Leo stops Gwen and tells her to put down the scalpel, calling this insane. Leo declares that he can’t let her hurt him. Gwen argues that it will hurt Leo a lot more. Leo complains that it’s going to destroy them and that Gwen wouldn’t be able to live with herself. Leo tells Gwen that she’s not a violent person. Leo talks about Gwen having a hard life and going to extremes to get revenge against people who have hurt her but says this is cruel and out of character for her because she is a kind and decent person. Leo adds that seeing Gwen trying to ruin someone’s life in the most horrific way is like she’s not the person he knows and loves and it’s breaking his heart. Gwen responds that Leo has no heart. Leo calls that untrue and says he’s not trying to make excuses but admits he messed up and he’s miserable a lot of the time. Leo talks about using humor to cover up how much he hates himself. Gwen argues that he’s just trying to make her feel sorry for him. Leo insists that he never meant to hurt her but his desperate need for love caused him to betray her. Leo acknowledges that he hurt her more than Dimitri did. Gwen agrees, pointing out that he was supposed to be her best friend. Gwen cries that she’s used to romances falling apart but they were supposed to be forever as she thought they would grow old together and comfort each other. Leo says he thought so too but then he did what he always does and sabotaged himself, because he felt like he had finally found love and a way to be happy which made him horribly selfish. Leo states that he sabotaged the only friendship that’s ever meant anything to him. Leo wishes they were honest with her from the start but guesses he was stupidly hoping that there was some way they could all get what they wanted out of this. Leo says he knows words are cheap but tells Gwen that he loves her and he’s always felt so lucky to have her as a friend and ally. Leo adds that he would be willing to do whatever he had to in order to make it up to her. Leo asks if she’s willing to let him try. Gwen says no and that she hopes Leo and Dimitri both rot in Hell as she then walks out of the room.

Maggie tells Alex that when she learned that he was Victor’s son, it warmed her heart because she thought she could be there for him since that’s what Victor would want. Alex asks if she has a point. Maggie says the point is that Alex is important to her and always has been, but now seeing Victor in him makes her feel even closer to him. Maggie believes that if Victor wanted Alex to be CEO, he would have made him CEO. Maggie suggests maybe Victor wanted them to work together as co-CEOs but Alex doesn’t see that working out since they don’t see eye to eye on how to run the business. Maggie questions just taking her job instead. Alex doesn’t see it that way but argues that he has controlling interest, so all he has to do to get her removed is call a board meeting.

Stefan questions why Gabi would give his mother up to the cops. Gabi insists it was either Stefan or Vivian. Stefan argues that now Vivian gets charged with attempted murder. Gabi points out that Jada said that’s off the table. Vivian mocks her and asks if Stefan is just going to let Gabi throw her under the bus. Stefan is afraid there is nothing they can do it about it now since Jada knows Vivian violated her parole and if she acts on it, the US Marshal is going to be at the door any second. Vivian supposes there’s nothing she can do now other than leave town, which Gabi celebrates.

Gwen runs in to Kristen, who promises she did not shoot Dimitri. Gwen questions who did then. Jada arrives and informs them that it was Vivian Alamain. Kristen questions why Vivian would shoot Dimitri. Jada explains that she apparently walked in as Dimitri was going to kill Stefan and Gabi, so she’s here to arrest Dimitri. Gwen exclaims that’s the best news she’s heard all day.

Maggie tells Alex that calling a board meeting won’t be necessary as she will go, but she must say that she’s very disappointed that she didn’t get through to him at all. Maggie says she knew Alex was a womanizer and somewhat full of himself, but she didn’t think he was so callous that he wouldn’t respond to what she said from the heart about seeing Victor in him and how it moved her. Alex says he’s not saying there’s no role for her at Titan because he will need capable people. Maggie agrees that something tells her them teaming up would work about as well as it did the last time. Maggie then gathers her things and exits the office.

Jada states that she needs to read Dimitri his rights and heads to his room. Gwen tells Kristen that Dimitri is finally getting what’s coming to him. Kristen says he’s not the only one because they are going to get what’s coming to them too which Gwen questions. Kristen explains that Dimitri will go off to prison while someone is going to get the Von Leuschner fortune.

Leo checks on Dimitri, who confirms that Gwen did not hurt him. Leo asks how this happened. Dimitri explains that he had his gun on Gabi and Stefan, then he got shot in the back. Leo argues that he promised he wasn’t going to kill Gabi and Stefan. Dimitri says he meant it but before that, Kristen pulled a gun on him. Leo questions who shot him. Dimitri reveals that it was Vivian and says he aimed the gun at Gabi and Stefan as an impulse move, then Vivian walked in and shot him. Leo kisses Dimitri and says the important thing is that he’s alive and now that the truth is out, they have nothing to worry about. Jada then enters the room.

Kristen tells Gwen that it’s time for her to pay her in-laws a visit to explain how poor, deranged Dimitri is going to prison, therefore his new wife is entitled to his fortune. Gwen asks if she really thinks that will work. Kristen asks why not since they are still married and they fulfilled the conditions, so she sees no reason they shouldn’t pay her. Gwen is not sure the Von Leuschners will see it that way. Kristen encourages that Gwen will have to persuade them. Gwen declares that there is nothing left keeping her in Salem and that the Spectator is tied up with Xander, while the only friend she had was Leo. Kristen tells her that she’s always got her. Gwen thanks her but says ever since she arrived in Salem, it’s been one debacle after another. Gwen decides maybe it’s time she sees what else is out there for her.

Vivian tells Stefan that she would never leave him, but she has no choice. Stefan asks where she will go. Vivian suggests back to Alamainia as their home. Vivian tells Stefan not to worry about her because she will always rise like a phoenix from the ashes.

Marlena asks Kate if Chloe and Philip are back together. Kate hopes not and says Philip got the help he needed and was doing so well, but his obsession with Chloe is what made him lose his mind in the first place. Kate worries about that happening again. Marlena points out that Philip is a grown man and Chloe must have believed he has changed to agree to go to New York with him. Kate supposes so and admits she was hoping Philip would stay in Salem, especially now but that it was silly of her to think he’d want to be closer with her after losing his father.

Maggie goes home to the Kiriakis Mansion and looks at her and Victor’s wedding photo on the mantle. Maggie places her old CEO name plate in front of the picture as she holds back tears.

Alex picks up a photo of Victor in the Titan office and says he really hopes he’s not mad about Maggie, but he doesn’t think Victor would’ve dangled this opportunity in front of him if he didn’t want him to grab the brass ring. Alex then places his own CEO nameplate on the desk and takes his seat in the chair.

Leo asks Jada what they can do for her. Jada responds that for once, this doesn’t concern Leo. Jada then informs Dimitri that he is under arrest for attempted murder.

After Vivian leaves, Gabi questions Stefan being upset to see her go and complains about her. Stefan knows Vivian is impossible but she’s his mother and he feels bad for her. Gabi argues that misery follows Vivian where ever she goes. Gabi states that he may not see it now, but she did him a huge favor.

Vivian goes to the airport and says she better be careful as she never know who she will run in to. Vivian walks on as Gwen prepares to board her flight. Gwen remarks that Salem hasn’t always been fun but it’s certainly been interesting. Gwen adds that there were things about Salem that she loved as well as things she hated. Gwen promises that this might be goodbye for now, but Salem hasn’t seen the last of her as she walks around the corner with her bag packed. Brady then comes around the corner of the airport, followed by Theresa (now played by Emily O’Brien, who portrayed Gwen)

Billy: Thank you very much. Well, well, what are you still doing here?

Tucker: Why would I leave?

Billy: I just thought you would have left town by now.

Tucker: Yeah, that’s what I’m saying. Why?

Billy: Well, uh, I have proof that you and Audra did a disgusting thing. Covered up the evidence for a statutory rapist. That’s not a good look. You also failed miserably when you tried to make it look like I embezzled money from my family company. I paid all that money back to Jabot, by the way.

Tucker: Good boy.

Billy: And I can count on half a hand the amount of people that can actually stand the sight of your face, so i thought you would have took off.

Tucker: You probably forgot that I have a son and a grandson here in town who can stand the sight of me. And– and I’m not about to leave ’em again. And if you’re worried that I’m sticking around to exact revenge on you or the Abbotts or Jabot…

[ Scoffs ] I’m a lot of things, Billy, but I’m not an idiot. You’re holding a bomb over my head. So you win. Congratulations. You’ve pretty much forced me to back off.

Billy: Backing off isn’t the same as abandoning, tucker.

Tucker: Oh, god, forgive me. Abandoned. Is that better?

Billy: Not even a little.

Tucker: Yeah, I don’t know what I could do to prove to you that it’s over for me. That I’m just done with you and the Abbotts and your precious little company.

Traci: So, the florist has just finished setting up and that is done.

Jack: Thank god you changed that order. By the way, how did you remember that Abby is allergic to lilies?

Traci: Abby is my niece and I am Traci Abbott. It’s what I do. [ Laughs ]

Jack: And I don’t know what I would do without you in my life.

Traci: Well, you will die wondering

Lily: What exactly are your intentions at chancellor-winters?

Jill: Yeah, actually, I’m pretty curious about that myself.

[ Mamie laughs ]

Mamie: Jill, Jill, Jill. Who but you would show up at a private party to which you were not invited? Well, I can’t really say that I’m that surprised, but, oh, how rude.

Jill: You see, it just– it all seemed a little wonky, this secret investor thing the way it played out, so I just had to come and see firsthand if it was indeed you, Mamie, who bought into my company. And if so, why?

Mamie: Well, when this investment opportunity came to my attention, I just couldn’t refuse. Oh, come on, Jill, it’s wonderful, isn’t it? To be able to support a successful business and to reconnect with my family?

***************

Mamie: Jill, why is it that you only see shadows and secrets? I suppose that’s just how your mind thinks. But that’s not how the rest of us live our lives. This is my family that you’re in business with. You see the bottom line. I see love and togetherness. This is just not about you, honey.

Jill: Oh, lord, forgive me, Mamie, but I know who you really are and I find it very hard not to doubt your motives.

Mamie: [ Laughs ] Okay. So, Devon is correct. I didn’t have to make an investment in chancellor-winters in order to spend time with the people that I care about, but why not take advantage of a good business move at the same time?

Jill: Good choice of words. Boy, you really know about taking advantage, don’t you?

Mamie: Oh, no, you don’t wanna go down that road. I sit alongside John Abbott all those years that he was building his business empire. I took good care of the Abbott children.

Jill: You just stood alongside him? Sorry, honey, that wasn’t you.

Days Nitpicks & Flubs For The Week Of 10/2/23

Nitpicks & Flubs

by Michele & Cheryl

EJ DiMera

Monday

Dimitri didn’t have any blood on him after Vivian shot him. Stefan made a big deal about him bleeding badly, but there wasn’t any blood shown. Stefan didn’t have any blood on his hands after checking on Dimitri.

Jada tried to stop Shawn from going to the DiMera mansion with her. He is her partner so she didn’t have the right to stop him from going as if she’s his boss.

Leo admitted that he slept with Gwen’s husband. Why was he surprised when she punched him? What did he think was going to happen?

Gwen told Leo about working with Kristen. She shouldn’t have told him that if she wanted to get revenge. Leo could have told Dimitri about her plan. She shouldn’t have dipped her hand like that.

Tuesday

Shawn took the risk of talking about being with Talia in public. He should have talked to Jada about it in private.

Belle has a right to be mad at Shawn for cheating on her, but she’s not in a position to talk. She cheated on him with Philip and EJ so she’s not innocent.

Marlena cheated on Roman so she shouldn’t have been so judgmental when she found out that Talia slept with Shawn.

Wednesday

Chloe could be heard talking while Bronson was shown.

Chloe cried without tears.

EJ found out that Rex was pretending to be the father of Sarah’s baby. Who told him that Sarah lied about the father of her baby?

Thursday

Susan helped Ava to set up EJ considering she was the one who tried to kill her. You would that she wouldn’t help her. EJ was trying to avenge her death and she decided to turn on him.

EJ knew where to find Xander. How did he know where he lived?

Friday

Alex told Maggie that Victor left Titan to him. He didn’t even look at the will so he didn’t know who was in charge of running the company.

Kristen’s flashback could be heard before it was shown.

Who told Kate that Susan was in town? She didn’t run into anyone who would have known the truth.

Days Opinions For The Week Of 10/2/23

Opinion Article

by Michele & Cheryl

Shwan and Belle

This week’s episodes didn’t have us screaming at the TV, but a couple of plots moved along a little. There were two confrontations this week. Belle found out the truth about Shawn and Talia being together and Gwen confronted Leo and Dimitri. There must have been something in the water for that to happen in the same week. We will talk about these situations separately.

Jada should probably check her surroundings before she opens her mouth. Anytime she opens her mouth, something bad ends up happening. This time Belle overheard her tell Shawn that he slept with her sister. She shouldn’t have blurted something like that out in public. The office door was open when she dropped the bomb. She shouldn’t have announced a big secret like that so loudly. We know that Shawn wished he could have kicked her in her mouth to keep her quiet. With that said, we will move on to the confrontation.

Belle demanded an explanation as to why Shawn was with Talia. He didn’t give her a good enough reason and she slapped the taste out of his mouth. She yelled at him and couldn’t believe he hurt her. She reminded him about what he did with Jan and that set off fireworks. He told her about her flings with Philip and EJ. Let’s stop right there for a minute. We applauded Shawn for standing up for himself when she threw Jan up in his face. He felt like she should have forgiven him. He wasn’t wrong. She wasn’t in a position to judge him for ending up with Talia because he was drunk when it happened. With that said, his timing was completely off. He was the one who messed up so bringing up her mistakes wasn’t going to help his case. He should have waited to use that high card. He was right, but his timing wasn’t right at all. Belle didn’t want to stay with him because he betrayed her the way he did. We were surprised that she only blamed him for what happened. She didn’t blame Talia. She thought he was trying to pay her back for what she did. She might have been right about that. He might have been waiting for an opportunity to pay her back for what she did. If that were true, he could have done that sober. Why would he wait until he was drunk to do that? She had a right to be mad at him, but it was getting frustrating to watch her whining about what happened. She knows that he’s drinking so it shouldn’t have been a surprise that he messed up. Shawn forgave her for her discretions, and she wasn’t drunk when she did it. She was completely sober. She didn’t even know who Claire’s father was at one point. She should be willing to cut Shawn some slack at some point because she’s far from innocent herself. We enjoyed watching their scenes because they were filled with drama. We hope that they keep showing their confrontation.

As we mentioned earlier, there were two confrontations this week. Gwen confronted Leo about sleeping with Dimitri. The confrontation was better than when Gwen admitted that she knew the truth. Leo wanted Gwen to forgive him after being with Dimitri. Leo expected Gwen to forgive him after sleeping with Dimitri. Leo didn’t deserve to be forgiven after what he did. He knew Dimitri was gay but didn’t warn her about it. He also didn’t have a problem sleeping with his best friend’s husband. What kind of a friend does that? It would serve him right if she never forgave him for what he did. He could have spared her the humiliation of finding out her husband is gay. He had the nerve to try to make her feel sorry for him by being self-deprecating. He knew it was going to work, but he was mistaken because she didn’t want anything to do with him.

Leo wanted to get back at Gwen for Dimitri getting shot. He threatened to make her pay if Dimitri died. Who would Leo be to try and make Gwen pay for Dimitri dying? He also acted as if he were the one married to Dimitri when he found out he was in the hospital. Gwen was the one married to him so he wasn’t in a position to threaten her. We were shaking our heads while we watched him carry on as if was the victim.

The writers are trying to make us feel sorry for Dimitri. Dimitri was the one who wanted to shoot Stefan and Gabi, but the writers expected us to feel sorry for Dimitri when Gabi and Vivian wanted to let him bleed out. Stefan had to go the extra mile and be a man of his word and get him help. We aren’t trying to say that they should have let Dimitri die, but Gabi and Vivan shouldn’t have been written up as monsters just because they were willing to let him die.

We actually wanted to cheer Kate on this week. Kate confronted Sarah about lying about the baby. She wouldn’t let Sarah make excuses about using Rex for her own personal gain. Sarah was told over and over again that she should have told Xander the truth about the baby. She refused to listen because she had to be right. We loved that Kate went off about it. She was given a pass by everyone else who chose to pat her on the head and let her get away with her crime. Kate didn’t do that. She told her off as she should have and we were cheering her on the entire time.

Speaking of the baby, Xander decided to go after full custody of Victoria. Rex talked to him and told him that he wasn’t going to be allowed near his baby. He told him that he wanted to be near his daughter. He called his lawyer and wanted sole custody of the baby. We hope the writers don’t drop the ball with that story. We want to see the look on Sarah’s face when Xander takes her to court. She will probably try to guilt him or run away again so she can keep the baby. She needs to know how it feels not to be able to see the baby because it’s what she wanted to do to Xander.

Susan was alive. It was convenient how she was still alive. It was an obvious attempt to let Ava off the hook for what she did to her. When Ava was seeing illusions about Charlie being alive he wasn’t alive, yet Susan was conveniently alive after she was seeing illusions about her. The writers are going overboard trying to write Ava as if she is a good character. They are clearly trying to put her with Harris so the writers must think we will forget that she is a villain.

Chloe decided to leave town since she ended things with Xander. She asked Philip to go with her. We don’t like the way she was written out of the show. We are Phloe fans so that was disappointing. They were considered a supercouple during the 90s and they were treated like they didn’t matter. Their farewell basically fizzled and it’s an insult to the Phloe fans who would have wanted a better send off. It’s bad enough the wrong actor was playing Philip, but they were written out as if they were extras. We wish the writers put more thought into their departure.

Interview with Sharon Case of “The Young and The Restless” on CBS by Suzanne 10/5/23

I so enjoyed speaking with Sharon! I’m a fan of hers, and of the show (which you’ll see below). It was great to meet her on Zoom, and it was really sweet of her to answer so many of our questions. We had a good time and laughed a lot.

Suzanne: Well, thanks for talking to me today.

Sharon: Yeah. Thanks for having me, Suzanne.

Suzanne: Yeah. You’ve been on Y&R next year for 30 years. How does that feel?

Sharon: It feels amazing. It’s wild. I guess you round off numbers when you speak about it. So for probably a few years now, I’d just round it off and say, Oh, you know, I’ve been here 30 years or, you know, so it’s not brand new, a brand new idea to me, but it will finally be official.

Suzanne: Yeah, that’s great. Do they give you a cake and things like that?

Sharon: I don’t know if they’re going to come up with a cake. Probably, they’ll offer a cake party. I think usually our anniversaries, we have a lot of anniversaries, a lot of casts have been here a long time. They usually do a cake party, yeah.

Suzanne: Okay, that’s cool.  I’ve been watching “The Young and The Restless” since 1986, and “General Hospital” since 1984. So I saw you on there as Dawn before you [played] Sharon.

Sharon: Right. I played Dawn, Monica Quartermaine’s daughter.

Suzanne: Yeah, no, that was great. I really liked Dawn, even though there were like five different actresses that played her.

Sharon: There were a lot of actresses that played Dawn. There were three who played Sharon.

Suzanne: Yeah, that’s right. That’s right. I forgot about that. And I was so upset when they, when they killed Dawn off. She was such a great character. But I’m glad that you got to go on and become Sharon for so long.

Sharon: But you know, dead is never dead in the soap either.

Suzanne: Yeah, but it was a long time ago. I don’t think she’s coming back now.

Sharon: Who knows? You know, she could.

Suzanne: That would be great, but… Has Sharon — I was trying to remember — has Sharon ever been dead or thought to be dead?

Sharon: She, well, let’s see, she fell off the cliff with Drusilla and she almost died. They thought maybe she was going to make it, but she made it. Okay, now I don’t think…Oh, and then when Sharon broke out of prison and went on the run, and she stayed with, Sam on the farm. Everyone in Genoa City thought Sharon was dead, they even had a funeral for her. And so, right, Sharon was meanwhile, living on a farm with Sam.

Suzanne: Yeah.

Sharon: She was thought to be dead then, too. Yeah, that, but not, not in the way that we were talking about somehow. Some characters do die — “die” — and they come back. It’s always fun to have to play that scene when a character comes back to life and you’re shocked. Like Diane recently.

Suzanne: Yeah, that’s right.

Sharon: It’s the best scene when your character runs into them, and you’re like, “Oh, my God!” What expression do you have from back from the dead, what would be the right expression? What is that?

[Both laughing]

Suzanne: I’m not so dead after all! That’s funny. Yeah. Yeah.

Suzanne: Well, it seems like Sharon has been through a lot on those 30 years, and [done] just about everything that a soap heroine can possibly do. I mean…

Sharon: Yeah, I’ve done a lot of really fun stuff…

Suzanne: Burning down Victor’s house, marrying Victor….That was weird!

Sharon: That was, yeah. Marrying. Yeah. But you know, that turned into some very good things that, I’ve been seeing a lot of, recently, people are tweeting or whatever, scenes where Sharon was having Victor’s funeral.

Suzanne: Mm-Hmm.  I remember that.

Sharon: It was the fake funeral. And that was just hilarious. And she was trying to marry Tucker at the same time. Those were some of the funniest scenes. And I had so much fun shooting them. And that was all part of the Sharon married Victor story.

Suzanne: Right.

Sharon: She then, you know, covered up his fake death, pretended he was dead, tried to take over Newman. It was a lot of fun.

Suzanne: Yeah, I’ll bet. And I remember a long time ago when Sharon was shoplifting.

Sharon: Yeah, that was great fun.

Suzanne: Yeah?

Sharon: That was the very beginning of her, kind of, her bipolar, I guess, is what they decided that was part of that, as well. I think her would-be behavior. yeah, it was really fun. And, I joke with Joshua Morrow sometimes when we’re just sitting in the Newman living room, doing scenes, you know, passing time when, you know, we have a lot of time sitting there in between scenes, and I say, I’m going to steal the coasters, Joshua. I’m going to have Sharon zip over first and steal the coasters. And I’ll just be doing that in the background while these people are talking. That would be hilarious. We always laugh about that. He laughs… He thinks, he’d like to start having his character only wear golf clothes all the time, to the office, everywhere, he’s just always in golf clothes.

Suzanne: He seems like he would be a lot of fun.

Sharon: He’s so much fun. I think that’s a genius idea.

Suzanne: Yeah, I remember, that was when, when, Sharon was stealing– shoplifting. That was when your character’s mom was still around.

Sharon: Yeah, we haven’t seen Sharon’s mom in a while. We still, we don’t know where her dad is yet.  So, there’s still things we have to find out.

Suzanne: Yeah, that’s great that they still have that story out there they could pull out anytime. And I’m glad to see that you’re doing something again, other than just pouring coffee and being a sounding board for your children and anyone else.

Sharon: Yeah…

Suzanne: After Rey died, then they didn’t do anything with Sharon for a very long time, besides that.

Sharon: I know, she had a very long mourning period. She had a long mourning. She really loved him. So she was paused for a while… but now she’s got this Kirsten Company, thanks to Cameron Kirsten. And, now she’s gonna go out on her own and build it into a great company, and, you know, take over the world.

Suzanne: Mm-hmm.  Yeah. That’s great. Judging from what I’ve seen on the show lately, it seems like Nick and Sharon may be headed back together. I know they don’t tell you much ahead of time, and you can’t really say spoilers, but would you be happy about that kind of reunion?

Sharon: Of course! I’m always happy when they reunite.  I– I love working with Joshua. Good news is, though, even when we’re not reunited, I get to work with him a lot anyway. We share children together. So, I mean, we always are doing scenes together in any case, either way.

Suzanne: Yeah, yeah. And do you think that they’re the next Victor and Nikki?

Sharon: Well, it seems so. I can see how people can compare the two.  They’ve been a couple on and off for, you know, like we just said, three decades now.

Suzanne: Yeah.

Sharon: And that does seem to parallel Victor and Nikki.

Suzanne: Right. And when you found out that Sharon was going to be running Cameron’s former company, what was your reaction to that?

Sharon: Oh, I was really happy. You know, to see Sharon back in the business world again is fun.  She did worka t Jabot and Newman back in the day for a while. And that’s fun because, you know, she gets to interact with a lot of other people while she’s at work.

Suzanne: Mm-hmm.

Sharon: Brad work there then, you know

Suzanne: Mm-hmm. I remember…

Sharon: That’s just fun. So I– I hope that Sharon being back in the business world again… that will give her cause to be at Jabot, or Newman or maybe employ several people at her office space.

Suzanne: Right. She was a psychologist, but they’ve kind of dropped that now, or….?

Sharon: Yeah, I think we’re getting less and less…going less and less with the psychology. And we did that for a few years.

Suzanne: Yeah.

Sharon: Well, you know, she’s changing careers, and going back to what she used to do.

Suzanne: Right, right, right. And, is there anything that Sharon hasn’t done on the show that you wish she would do?

Sharon: Let’s see…um…I don’t know, let’s see… I would like her to, uh…I can’t really think of anything, but you know, it would be fun if she were like a… I’ll come up with something.

Suzanne: Okay. You could be a stripper like Nikki!  I don’t know…

Sharon: Be a stripper like Nikki? No…. [Laughs]

Suzanne: Maybe she could get a split personality and become a stripper.

Sharon: Split personality would be phenomenal. I loved playing bipolar, that’s not quite the same, but a split personality would be a lot of fun, or a crazy twin sister.

Suzanne: I was gonna say evil twin would be the next thing.

Sharon: That would be great.

Suzanne: Well, and we know twins run in her family, so she had twins, so…

Sharon: That’s right, she did. She had Mariah and Cassie, and they were great.

Suzanne: Yeah, so she could have an evil twin out there she doesn’t even know about.

Sharon: That’s right.

Suzanne: And it would be a good way to bring her mom back, too.

Sharon: Yeah, or bring her mom back or her dad. Maybe she meets her dad, and her dad shows up in town with this child. This– well, not child anymore. You know. And Sharon is looking right at herself, she feels. It’s because it’s her twin sister.

Suzanne: Yeah, that would be great. You’d get to play evil for a while. That would be fun.

Sharon: Yeah, that would be good.

Suzanne: Yeah, or a vixen, what they used to call a vixen.

Sharon: Yeah, and she could be a real good vixen and real bad girl. She would do all kinds of bad things.

Suzanne: I could see– I could see that with Adam.

Sharon: Doing bad things?

Suzanne: Yeah. The twin– the evil twin with Adam.

Sharon: Oh, yeah, I see. Yeah. Yeah. I can see it, too.

Suzanne: So, I asked on Twitter and Facebook– Oh, (here’s a question I forgot to ask first) I know it’s not 2020 anymore, but are you still following a lot of COVID protocols on the set?

Sharon: You know, we do sometimes. Not, as regularly as we were… sometimes we’re masking, it’s sort of optional, and, the testing, we’re not doing it every single week, but we are still, at various intervals, doing testing.

Suzanne: Okay, did they ever have the thing that they had on GH for a while, where everyone had to get vaccinated?

Sharon: I think, no, I mean, they, they offered vaxxess here and they always have, not every year I guess, but there’s been a lot of years they’ve offered vaxxes here… flu vaxxess and things like that.

Suzanne: Right. But it wasn’t mandated or anything.

Sharon: Right.

Suzanne: Oh, okay. and so I went on Twitter and Facebook and asked fans if they had questions for you.

Sharon: Oh good! I hope they do!

Suzanne: They, oh yeah, there’s a lot. More than I can tell you in the time that we have. But, let’s see. Christine on Twitter, wanted to know who you would like to work with that you haven’t. A couple of other people asked the same thing.

Sharon: That I haven’t, um..

Suzanne: Or not much.

Sharon: You know, I haven’t a lot with, Trevor St. John, and we had a few coffee house scenes together. One day, that was it. It was so fun. I was hoping that we would– our characters would do more together.

Suzanne: Right, because you were kind of married for a while.

Sharon: We were kind of married for a while! Different actor, but I– you know, so it really works that this is someone from Sharon’s past. I find it, you know, interesting to play those scenes with that character because of that. And you know, working with Trevor is terrific.

Suzanne: I’m sure. Yeah. And, everybody hates him, so… his character (I mean), so that would be fun to see whether Sharon still didn’t like him, or liked him, felt that bad for him, or whatever. Yeah.

Sharon: You know, it’s a love-hate thing. I think, when you run into your ex-husband years ago, you get a zing from that.

Suzanne: Yeah. So, Heather wanted to know what your favorite storyline of all time was?

Sharon: Oh, my gosh. I have loved so many of  ’em. You know, the one we just mentioned: Sharon, posting Victor’s funeral. That was a really fun, if you haven’t seen that, hold that up somewhere on Twitter or on, I don’t know where else you can get it, but it

Suzanne: YouTube? YouTube, maybe?

Sharon: maybe. Yeah. On YouTube. Yeah. I’ve seen it on Twitter recently. That’s why I said that. But on YouTube, that is a really fun. And, you know, I have a lot of others [that] I’ve said many times are my favorites, like going into the sewer with Nikki and the rats, and Cassie’s death story. But I really want to start adding to it. I think my favorite scene was Sharon hosting Victor’s funeral.

Suzanne: And a different person named Christine, this one on Facebook, wanted to know your funniest blooper, either one you did or somebody else did.

Sharon: Oh, my gosh, there’s bloopers every day. There’s so many [scene ones?]. I just had a funny, almost-blooper, with Brytni [Sarpy] today, who plays Elena. We were doing a funny scene. She was supposed to exit and be gone. And then there’s the tag on Sharon watching a different character. And we were joking that Elena would, at the end, peek around the corner as if she has her eye on Sharon. And we just did a riff on this ridiculous that, Sharon and Elena, you know, she’s got her eye on her for some reason. And, we joked about it in rehearsal, so we did that in rehearsal. It’s not a blooper, necessarily. But it kind of is because it started out with Brytni actually making a mistake in her blocking!

Suzanne: Oh!

Sharon: That got us all laughing about this. There’s so many bloopers every day, you know?  Oh, I had one where I was– recently, I was in Society, and… I’m supposed to just put my purse, um, set it on my chair as I’m seated at Society, and the purse just kept falling.

Suzanne: Oh!

Sharon: Well, I’m trying to have a conversation in the scene, and I’m constantly fidgeting with my purse. I finally got that thing to stay. And, they didn’t have… they didn’t edit that into the show, so you won’t see that because it’s a blooper.

Suzanne: Ah.

Sharon: Another blooper is that when I finally got up to leave, I got up to grab the purse and go, and it was stuck. I couldn’t pull it out of the chair again. And I do wish that they would include these in the show.

Suzanne: Yeah, or [have] like a special blooper reel or something, or post it online… anything. Fans woul love to see those.

Sharon: Yeah, sure. I would love to see them, too. It’s fun.

Suzanne: Marilyn wants to know, what do you admire about your character? And what do you not admire about your character?

Sharon: You know what, I admire how brave she is, and what a go-getter she is now… You know, how positively she looks at life itself, and her life.  After everything she’s been through, she just keeps going, and has this positive energy and attitude that tomorrow’s another day, and she’s going to reinvent herself and become a businesswoman now, again, and a great mom, or she’s going to go crazy, but that’s okay. She’ll recover. She’s just got a great attitude.

Suzanne: Well, yeah, what’s great about being on the soap, especially for so long, it seems like you get to experience all these different things you don’t necessarily do in your real life.

Sharon: Right.

Suzanne: You get to go wild and crazy. You get to have kids, you know, married many times, all these different…

Sharon: You get to do a lot of fun stuff, but you know, she’s, I like her.. I don’t know, her optimism.

Suzanne: And is there anything you don’t admire about Sharon? You wish that she didn’t do?

Sharon: Let’s see. Hmm. I don’t think so. I think I’ve, I’ve pretty much really liked everything she’s done. Yeah.

Suzanne: Okay. And Faith says, “I really love some of the clothes and accessories you wear. Do you get a chance to decide what to wear and do you get a chance to purchase the clothing or accessories?”

Sharon: Well, that’s a good question. Wardrobe is very fun and very important. This, what I’m wearing right now is, from Sharon’s closet. I love Sharon’s clothes. I do get a say-so, somewhat, in what she’s going to wear. The costume department will buy a bunch of clothes, or they take them out from the store on, you know, I don’t know, they get to take them out temporarily.  Usually they give us the clothes for two or three days to try on so we have time to try these on. What they bring I try on, and I decide what I like, what I didn’t. And they do as well. They may have bought me some things from the store that once they see them on me, they don’t like them or anything. It’s just not right for the scene.  So we both decide, but yes, I do have a say-so as well, and if everything we don’t like gets sent back, and the things that we decide to keep, then the costumers decide which show, which episode, each costume might be right for.

Suzanne: Okay, and she said, do you get a chance to buy any of the clothes or accessories?

Sharon: Oh, no, no, no, I don’t get to buy them. I get to borrow them.

Suzanne: Oh.

Sharon: Yeah, they are… I don’t know why we just don’t really have a thing where we buy the clothes.. [from] CBS on some… We all borrow them and wear them to a function, you know, the anniversary party or, you know, like today I’m doing this interview, so I’m wearing Sharon’s clothes.

Suzanne: Nice. And, Teresa wanted to know if you’ve ever vacationed in Nashville. I assume she lives there.

Sharon: Oh, my gosh, I don’t think I have. I’ve been so many places. I have so many friends going to Nashville all the time, so I see a lot of it in photos. I don’t think that I have been in Nashville, but I’m gonna make it there one day, for sure.

Suzanne: You should. It’s a lot of fun. It’s a lot of fun.

Sharon: Seems like it.

Suzanne: And, Lori wants to know if you’re still designing your POMP jewelry.

Sharon: It was called pump, p-u-m-p, pump.

Suzanne: Oh, okay. Pump.

Sharon: P-O-M-P. Now I forgot that. While it’s been a while, it’s been a very long time. When did we close that? We closed it. I don’t– years ago, so no, we’re not still doing that.  It was me and my friend, Ella, who used to be the head of the costuming department here at Young and The Restless.

Suzanne: Okay.

Sharon: We’re good friends also in real life, so we designed and made this jewelry company together, but we closed it up quite a while ago. I’m not still doing it. I have some leftover spare pieces that I just kept that I like, that I wear. And, I think… you know, we have thought about bringing back just, not a whole line, but maybe like one or two pieces that were very popular. We’ll see.

Suzanne: Okay, and Marilyn again wants to know what made you want to be an actress.

Sharon: Gosh, I don’t think I did want to be one. I fell into it, and it ended up working out, and I eventually came to like it, so I stuck with it.  But I didn’t really plan to be. I was a dancer… I was a ballerina when I was a little girl, and I just thought I was always going to be a ballerina. But I started booking jobs as an actress because of that.

Suzanne: Oh, okay.

Sharon: Once I started working as a dancer, you start working as a model.  You start, you know, you just start branching out and getting… get offered a variety of things.

Suzanne: Mm-hmm.

Sharon: I’ve done hosting jobs for various shows in the past. You know,  I guess it’s just as a performer, you do a lot of different kinds of things, but I never did plan to be an actor. When I was in school, I didn’t go to acting school. I wasn’t in the drama class. I was in the play production class. I liked learning how to produce. And, I kind of thought, well, maybe I would do something in that regard.

Suzanne: Interesting. Do you have any pictures of yourself as a ballerina? If so, you should post them on Instagram.

Sharon: I know, I should. I do. I think I have some really, really bad ones. I did say, I just saved the ones that are most embarrassing. I have to take those out. I left them at my parents house.

Suzanne: Oh, those would be fun to see, though. I think everybody would enjoy seeing those.

Sharon: I know, it would be a good laugh, right?

Suzanne: Aw, no, because you’re probably, you think they’re terrible, but we’d probably go, Oh, look how cute she looks.

Sharon: I’m probably universal, universally terrible. But we’ve all seen that before, you know, pictures of us when we’re young and in a silly costume. But that was fun. That’s what kids do.

Suzanne: So you didn’t like being an actress when you first started? Is that what you kind of said there?

Sharon: I didn’t really. You know, I wasn’t trained at first as an actress, so I didn’t really know what I was doing.  I found it difficult and, you know, it’s hard to enjoy doing something that you don’t feel you’re good at or you’re nervous about. But then I eventually did go to acting school. I, you know, I thought, wow, if I’m going to keep doing this and booking jobs, doing this, I’m, I better go to school for this, get training.  Maybe that’ll make a difference. And I think it did.

Suzanne: Okay, great. And, so, those are all my questions, but is there anything else… are you allowed to tell us anything, about the upcoming weeks or episodes?

Sharon: Well, I can’t give away story, you know, because I’m– I don’t know why they make us…

Suzanne: Spoilers.

Sharon: I wish we could. Yeah, that’s frowned on around here. Very unpopular.

Suzanne: Yeah.

Sharon: I can’t do that. But there is, you know, the stuff that’s aired already keeps going. We know that Sharon has this company, Kirsten, and that keeps rolling, as far as I know, for the time being. And Sharon and Chance and Summer are, you know, doing whatever they’re doing.  I will see what direction that heads in. But that is something that Sharon has going. And then also, Sharon is helpful and supportive with Mariah and Tessa and their baby and her medical situation with her hearing. So that that’s coming up here and there, too.

Suzanne: Okay, and, you mentioned Chance. Now, your characters had random sex back in July.

Sharon: I know!

Suzanne: And then that was kind of the end of it, right?

Sharon: And now we don’t have sex anymore, I guess. Well, at least not on camera. Right?

Suzanne: Yeah. At least as far as we know.

Sharon: We assume they must be doing that.

Suzanne: Yeah, I thought maybe they were putting him and Summer together…?

Sharon: Maybe, I don’t know.

Suzanne: Slowly. But now I’m thinking you and Nick, so I don’t know. Maybe it’s a quadrangle. I don’t know. .

Sharon: Well, that would be interesting. But, you know, that would be going, out, you know, into the future too far where I don’t even know… I haven’t asked.

Suzanne: Ah.

Sharon: And so I don’t know ultimately what’s gonna happen. Sharon and Chance, Sharon and Nick, or Summer and Chance. I, I don’t know. But  it’s been fun working with all of them.

Suzanne: Yeah, I’m sure.

Sharon: I’m having a nice time.

Suzanne: Yeah. Anything else you’d like to tell your fans?

Sharon: Let’s see. Well, thank you all so much for tuning in and staying with us all these years and for all of your comments, and thank you for asking me questions for this interview today.

Suzanne: Oh, my pleasure.

Sharon: The fans asked questions. You too, Suzanne. Thank you.

[Both laugh]

Suzanne: We’re all happy. We’re all fans, and we’re all happy to talk to you.

Sharon: I love when I get asked questions from the fans and they post a question for my interview. It means a lot to me that people were paying attention or wanted to participate or hear something from me.  It means a lot. Thank you all.

Suzanne: All right. Well, thanks so much for talking to me today. I really appreciate it. And I look forward to seeing what else Sharon gets up to, and I hope they give you one of those special standalone episodes for your 30th anniversary, like they’ve done before with Michael. And I don’t remember who else… Victor.

Sharon: That’s a great idea.  Yeah. We haven’t done one of those in a while. Yeah, that would be fun. That would be a lot of work, too.

Suzanne: Yeah. All right. Thank you so much.

Sharon: Thank you. All right. Bye.

Suzanne: Bye. Bye.

Recap written by Michele and Cheryl

Maggie cleared Vivian’s things out of the office. Alex showed up and she told him what happened. Alex let her know that he was happy that she got the house, but he was the one who got control of the Titan. Maggie didn’t agree with him. They went back and forth about who should be in charge of the company. Alex didn’t want Maggie to keep arguing with him because he wanted to be CEO. She wanted to know if it was payback for her firing him. He assured her that wasn’t the reason he wanted the job. He didn’t agree with the way she ran the company, but he wasn’t trying to get revenge. He wanted the job because he felt like Victor wanted him to run it. She thought she could be there for him once the truth came out. She wondered if Victor wanted them to work together. He didn’t think it would work because they don’t have the same views for the company. He warned her that he would get the board involved if she didn’t walk away willingly. She backed down and told him that she was disappointed in him. He offered her a job, but she didn’t want it. Kate went to see Marlena. They talked about Philip and Chloe leaving together. Kate was afraid that Philip would backslide if he were with Chloe. Marlena reminded her that he was a grown man, and that Chloe wouldn’t go to New York with him if she didn’t think he changed. Kate was sad because she thought it was a chance for them to get closer. Gabi was getting ready for a meeting, but Vivian had other plans. Vivian wanted to go to the meeting, but Gabi didn’t like that idea. Vivian said that she didn’t have anything now that Maggie kicked her out so she needed to be by her son’s side. Gabi told her not to get too comfortable with being there. Vivian said she that wasn’t going anywhere.

Jada arrived at the DiMera mansion with questions for Stefan. She wanted to know why he lied to her. He lied again about hearing the gunshot from upstairs. He told her that the prints on the gun belong to Dimitri and Kristen. He said that Kristen must have shot him. She told him that the bullet that came from Dimitri didn’t match the gun. Stefan still acted as if he didn’t know anything. Jada threatened to lock him up if he lied to her. Gabi told her that she couldn’t lock Stefan up. Gabi told her that Vivian was the one who shot Dimitri. She gave Jada the gun from Vivian’s bag. Stefan wanted to know what she was doing. She told him that she wasn’t going to let him go to prison for his mother. Vivian walked in the room and wanted to know what happened to her gun. Vivian told Jada what really happened, and Stefan backed up her story. Gabi told her that they wanted to press charges against Dimitri for trying to kill them. Jada wanted to know if they would testify, and they agreed to do it. Jada thought it would help Vivian avoid attempted murder charges. She told her that she was still in violation of her parole, but she was going to talk to her parole officer. After Jada left, Stefan demanded answers from Gabi. She didn’t want him to get in trouble. Stefan was upset and Vivian asked him if he was going to let Gabi throw her under the bus. He said there was nothing they could do since Jada knew the truth. Vivian said she had to leave town. Gabi couldn’t be happier about it. Stefan and Vivian share a warm goodbye. After Vivian left, Gabi thought she did him a favor by getting her to leave. Leo saw Kristen at the hospital. He blamed her for what happened to Dimitri. She said that she didn’t shoot him, but he didn’t do it. He stormed off to be with Dimitri. Dimitri woke up and saw Gwen standing over him. He told her that he was shot. She wasn’t surprised since he was a dirtbag. Gwen told him that she knew the truth. He apologized to her. She was sorry too and took a scalpel from her boot. He was afraid because he thought she was going to cut his penis off to punish him and Leo. He called for help as she got closer and then Leo walked in the room. Leo stopped her from cutting him. Leo begged her not to hurt him. He hoped that she would forgive him. She refused and walked out the room.

Jack: Mamie, do you know how happy it makes me to see you like this?

Mamie: Like what? Energized? Strong? A woman on top of the world?

Jack: Yeah, that about covers it. You forgot to mention beautiful as ever.

Mamie: Oh, no, I didn’t. I just paused so you could say it.

*******************

Mamie: Okay. I’ll tell you, but only because I remember how you used to pout whenever you thought people were keeping secrets from you.

Jack: Wait. I didn’t pout.

Mamie: Yeah, you keep on telling yourself that. I bought out a private investor and I now have a major stake in chancellor-winters.

Nick: I highly doubt my brother regretted anything. He took advantage of the fact that I was gone.

Sally: No, no.

Nick: Hey, nick’s out of town. Let me real quick try and seduce sally and see if I can convince her to dump him and get back with me.

Sally: No, nick, that’s not what happened.

Nick: That is exactly what happened. This is how my brother operates. It’s who he is.

Sally: He really did seem to feel bad afterward.

Nick: I highly doubt that. So what? He kissed you, then what?

Sally: What? What– what do you mean?

Nick: What did he say? Did he say anything else? Like uh, that he still loved you or he thought the two of you still belonged together?

****************************

Victor: I assume you’re implying that I should be worried about your sister?

Adam: Yes. I mean, that was– that was quite an act she put on earlier. Suddenly pleasant and rational. No issues at all. I mean, you saw right through that, right?

Victor: You know I’m not worried about anyone. Not your sister, not Nate, not you.

Adam: Well, then you are not looking closely enough.

Victor: I run this damn place. If any problem should raise its ugly head, I’ll excise it.

Adam: Gonna nip it?

Victor: Anyone who is disloyal to me or to Newman enterprises.

Adam: Good morning, boss. I, uh, took the liberty of ordering you some coffee. Should be out soon.

Nate: Adam, thank you for coming.

Adam: Mm-hmm. Uh, I pride myself on being on time. Early even. And as your new assistant, I await your command.

Nate: Hm, I thought it best we discuss how this is going to work moving forward.

Adam: Sure thing, you’re in charge. Um, now how do you take your coffee? Cream, sugar? And is there a paper that you read first thing in the morning?

Nate: The attitude isn’t necessary. And it’s not gonna work with me.

[ Adam clears throat ] I asked you here because I’d like to set some ground rules and expectations, so there are no misunderstandings later.

Adam: Mm.

[ Adam chuckles ] You must be in heaven.

Nate: I’m not sure what you mean.

Adam: Having this much power over me. It’s thrilling, isn’t it?

*************

Nick: Here’s a thought. Why don’t we just give up all these dreams and plans we have for all these other businesses and just do nothing? Seriously, we just hang out with each other. Live off love and, uh, spoil each other rotten.

Sally: Well, we might wear each other out pretty quickly.

Nick: Are you questioning my stamina?

[ Sally chuckles ]

Sally: Never. Mm-mm. No, I’m just saying that we both have to work. I mean, I don’t think either of us would last more than a week without a sense of purpose.

Nick: So, our connection isn’t purpose enough? Wow. Okay, well, it is for me.

Sally: What has gotten into you?

Nick: I don’t know. I just– I woke up this morning and I was just really, really grateful that I get to wake up next to you. I really missed you.

Billy: I can tell you exactly what you can do. You can leave genoa city for good and not turn back.

Traci: Well, you will die wondering.

[ Both laughing ]

Jack: Everything all right?

Diane: Uh, not really. It’s noon and my dress for this afternoon should be here by now. At my alterations, I– I had very little to do, so I really don’t know what the hold up is.

Jack: Okay. It will be here, I promise. No one is more responsible than lauren.

Traci: Wait, you got your dress from lauren? Not one of the marchetti designers?

Diane: Yes, I saw it and I fell in love. I wasn’t thinking about the fact that phyllis happens to be lauren’s best friend.

Traci: Oh, that’s why you’re so nervous. You’re afraid that phyllis is going to sabotage your wedding celebration.

[ Both sighing ]

Lauren: Can I please have a latte? Just a splash of vanilla? Thank you.

Phyllis: I wanted you here because you are a crucial part of me being in this place, so.

Lauren: Me? How?

Phyllis: Because you were there for me and you supported me. You never gave up, even though I put you through a lot.

[ Lauren sighs ]

Lauren: Well, I love you more than I could ever be mad at you. And michael as well.

Phyllis: You’re an incredible friend. You stood by me when I never thought I was gonna get out of this mess. And you put your arms around me and you kept on telling me, “it’s gonna be okay.” And michael too. Ah, you two– you two are the best friends in every sense of the word.

Lauren: We always will be.

[ Phyllis chuckles ]

Phyllis: Champagne.

Lauren: Yes.

[ Both chuckling ]

Phyllis: Hey. [ Chuckles ]

Lauren: Oh.

Phyllis: Oh, wow. Please don’t tell me that’s what I think it is.

[ Phyllis scoffs ]

Lauren: Oh, thank you. If you think this is diane’s dress for her and jack’s wedding reception, you’re right.

Phyllis: Wow. This is unbelievable. You’re one of my best friends, lauren, and you are dressing diane in something from fenmore’s collection? I mean, just stick a knife in my back.

Lauren: All right, before you nail me to the wall anymore, you know I would never do anything for diane. You know me better than that. But jack called, he asked for a favor. What was I supposed to do? I– I love you both.

Phyllis: Okay. Well, what did you give jack? The dunce cap?

[ Lauren sighs ]

Lauren: You know, I have an idea for you. If you are selling this brand new me quest to your friends and family, why don’t you try and let go of this jack and diane thing?

Phyllis: Diane, no chance.

[ Lairen sighs ]

Lauren: Well, unfortunately, for better or worse, she’s who he wants to be with.

Phyllis: Okay, great. Listen, everybody thinks I’m a bad person. I get it, I get it, I get it, I get it, okay. It doesn’t make diane any less horrible. And by you doing this, I mean, you’re just cheering them on. “Hey, jack, I’ll dress up your bride to look like a princess while you walk down the path of misery.” I mean–

Lauren: You have no idea how hard this was for me.

Phyllis: Oh, really. They shouldn’t be getting married at all. You know that.

Lauren: You’re not planning on blowing up this reception, are you? Are you?

Traci: Oh, diane. Look, we all know that phyllis is phyllis and right now, she’s phyllis on probation. So, one false move and she finds herself behind bars. Look, after all she has been through, and after all she’s put her children through, she is not going to sabotage anything.

Diane: I’m sure she can find a way to ruin things without technically breaking any laws, if she puts her mind to it.

Jack: Only she won’T. She knows she’s already in trouble with the abbotts after this scheming with tucker. She’s not gonna pour gasoline on the fire.

Diane: Except she’s a walking fire hazard.

Jack: She’s not going to risk our telling daniel and summer what she’s been up to with tucker.

Traci: Besides, friend or no friend, lauren would never let that happen.

Jack: Exactly.

Diane: All right. Those are all valid points, but still–

[ Traci sighs ]

Traci: Relax, diane, please. I promise you, the dress will be here any minute. And it will be perfection. And you and jack will have a beautiful afternoon surrounded by people who care about you.

Jack: Hey, I don’t know where you’re off to, but please make sure you’re back in time for the reception.

Kyle: Yeah. Yeah, right. Um, that’s today?

Jack: Please tell me you’re joking.

Kyle: I am. But I do have a question.

Diane: What is it?

Kyle: Can I bring a date?

Tucker: I didn’t think it was possible, but you might even be more mercenary than I thought.

Billy: Might be offended by that if I actually care what you think, but just for fun, huh? Why don’t you tell me what you mean by that?

Tucker: Well, we both know that you would have thrown jack to the wolves if it meant taking over jabot yourself. And yet here you are working side by side with him to drive me out of town. If you don’t like mercenary, how about opportunistic, self-serving?

Billy: Hm. Not that I have to explain myself to you, but I’m just going to be very clear. I have only one objective, one objective, only, tucker.

Tucker: World peace?

Billy: It’s the same objective I’ve always had. Then, now, and in the future. That’s to protect my family and my father’s legacy. It’s not that complicated.

Tucker: Yeah. You sound just like ashley. I swear to god, sometimes I wonder what you abbotts really are. A family or a cult? Did you guys remember career day last year?

Traci: Um, sorry. Uh-oh. Uh-oh. Minor napkin emergency. Please excuse me while I handle this.

Jack: Thanks you, sis.

Diane: Um, kyle, when you say bring a date, are you thinking of inviting audra?

Kyle: No, no, mom. You know, audra’s not an option. Things have cooled off between us.

Jack: Well, that’s probably for the best, right?

Kyle: And why is that?

Jack: Well, you and I both know that was leading nowhere. It was a tryst to avoid the pain of your breakup with summer. I’m not judging. I’m just saying it happens.

Kyle: And so you keep saying, and for the 1000th time, you were wrong. Look, audra and I were having fun, which I definitely needed. Was it an escape from reality? Sure. Did I enjoy that there was some kind of clandestine element to it? Absolutely. But I really wish you would stop looking at it as some misguided tortured meltdown.

Jack: Okay. I’m sorry. I– I will try not to bring it up again.

Diane: Yes. Actually, your father and I were hoping that you and summer would give the appearance of attending together for harrison’s sake. That way he could at least see you pretending to get along.

Kyle: Believe it or not, we wouldn’t have to pretend, we really have been lately.

Jack: Well, good for you both.

Diane: Yeah. That’s a good first step.

Kyle: Mom, it’s not a first step. It is the only step. And nothing has changed. Summer and I are not getting back together, okay?

Phyllis: How could I blow up jack and diane’s party? I’m not even gonna be there.

Lauren: So, that’s a no?

Phyllis: I’d spend the whole time dry-heaving at the sight of diane.

Lauren: Oh, that’s a lovely visual. Look, I really hope you mean it because I’m not gonna be able to be there to supervise you. I’ve got to go to chicago on an emergency business trip.

Phyllis: You want me to deliver the dress?

Lauren: Oh, that’s so lovely, honey. Yes, and I’m gonna give you some matches and some lighter fluid. No, I’m not gonna let you deliver diane’s dress. Chloe’s gonna get here, hopefully soon, and do it for me. All right. So, besides this reception drama, how are you? When do you start working with daniel?

Phyllis: Oh, mm. It’s not finalized.

Lauren: But you’re happy about it? And you don’t wish you were still working with nick and sharon, do you?

Phyllis: Well, I don’t know. My son made it– um, he just said that I would be under the microscope the whole time I was working at omegasphere, so.

Lauren: Do you blame him? I mean, you’ve got a long way to go with him, honey.

Phyllis: I know. I know. I just can’t help but think that him offering me the job is sort of a pity gesture.

Lauren: Pity?

Phyllis: Mm-hmm.

Lauren: He’s throwing you a life raft. You should be grateful that he’s throwing you one at all after everything that you put him and summer through. Oh, thank god you’re here. Diane’s probably wondering where her dress is and is about to have a panic attack.

Phyllis: That’d be horrible.

Lauren: Uh, okay. I have a plane to catch. Thank you. Um, keep the garment bag away from her and–

Chloe: You know, you can count on me.

Lauren: Thank you. You promised, no trouble. No fireworks, please.

Phyllis: Yeah, no problem. See you later.

Lauren: Okay. Yes, you will. All right. Talk to you later.

Chloe: Bye. Later, phyllis. You know that feeling of having to rewash dishes

Billy: Well, it’s been real, and just so you know, don’t even think about crashing the festivities this afternoon.

Tucker: Are there festivities? Oh, I love a good party. Where and what time do you want me there?

Billy: This party’s off-limits to you. And I’ll be keeping an eye out and I’ll be monitoring the airspace because we both know you like a little helicopter landing. You know, tucker, you think you’re smarter than, oh, everyone on this planet, but only a fool would think that.

[ Tucker sighs ]

[ Piano music playing ]

Danny: Hey.

Phyllis: Hi. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to interrupt. Keep on playing. It’s beautiful.

Danny: Thanks.

[ Piano music playing ]

[ Diane sighs ]

Diane: Okay, kyle. I am not going to bother you about your personal life anymore. All right? I just– I just want you to be happy. I just want you to wake up with a sense of purpose and– and have a reason to get out of bed each morning.

Jack: I second that.

Kyle: Thank you. I know you both mean that, I really do.

Jack: And I am just curious, um, when you said you wanted to bring a date and you said audra was not a possibility, were you thinking of someone else?

Kyle: Uh, you know what, forget about it. It’s too early to introduce harrison to a stranger, especially at a family celebration.

Jack: Well, I’m glad you feel that way because your mother and I were hoping we could keep you a little busier at this reception than perhaps you planned. We have a favor to ask.

Kyle: Sure. What is it?

Diane: Well, jack came up with the idea at dinner last night that since all of our family and friends will be here today, that we would, um, renew our vows.

Jack: And we would be honored if you would agree to officiate. My late father-in-law lit up a room,

Announcer: The young and the restless will continue.

Kyle: You’d be honored for me to officiate your vow renewal? I– I’m honored you would even ask me, I mean, yes, yes, of course.

Diane: Oh, good. Thank you. Oh, thank you.

Kyle: Oh, I’ll get it.

[ Door clicks open ] Hi.

Chloe: Hi. So, lauren had an emergency. She had to head over to fenmore’s in chicago. She is so sorry, she is sending along her apologies, she– she’s really sorry that she couldn’t make it.

Jack: Oh, we’re sorry she won’t make it, but believe me, we understand.

Chloe: And I am so sorry that I am extremely late.

[ Laughs ] You know, kids. Um, actually, it wasn’t the kids, it was me, I feel like I shouldn’t blame them.

Diane: No, no, no, no apologies necessary. I have to admit, I was getting a little crazy imagining all kinds of scenarios, but yes, that’s my dress, and it’s still stunning. Ugh! I really appreciate you bringing it by.

Chloe: I was happy to do it.

Diane: Yeah, and all things considered, it was really generous of lauren to let me, of all people, wear one of her designs.

Chloe: Oh, of all people?

Diane: Well, given that she and phyllis are so close, I’m sure I’m not at the top of lauren’s “let’s be friends” list.

Chloe: Oh, well, you know who is at the top of that list? This guy. Jack is basically one of her favorite people in the whole world and she was not going to pass up the chance to make his day extra special.

Jack: Lauren also knows how happy you make me. And as long as that’s the case, as long as you don’t get tired of me, she is always going to be in full support of us being a family again.

[ Piano playing ]

[ Danny chuckles ]

Danny: All right, you know what, that’s it. I have been working on this bridge for hours. I can’t get it right. I gotta take a break.

Phyllis: Uh, I didn’t mean to interrupt, although, my timing’s perfect. Can I buy you a drink? A glass of your driest rose, please. Oh, thank you. What would you like, danny?

Danny: Oh, no, thanks. I’m good.

Phyllis: Are you sure?

Danny: Yeah, I better not. I’m meeting daniel for a late lunch.

Phyllis: Ah. Hey, um, be honest with me. How much does daniel hate me?

Danny: Well, I think “hate” is a pretty strong word. He will always love you, phyllis, always.

Phyllis: You sure about that?

Danny: Absolutely, he just doesn’t trust you.

Phyllis: Okay. [ Laughs ] That’s understandable.

Danny: Yep, and he’s definitely disappointed.

Phyllis: Does he understand how hard I’m working at turning things around? Does he get it? Thank you.

Danny: I think he does, and he really hopes you can. But I really see him struggling to be civil with you because of what you put him and summer through, and it’s a real shame, you know? It makes him sad. Hell, it makes me sad.

Phyllis: You know what makes me sad? Is how much I am judged… and hated by people in this town. People who claimed they loved me. Everybody in this town has made mistakes. But, for some reason, nobody’s willing to give me the benefit of the doubt. That makes me sad.

Jack: Hey.

Billy: There’s the man of the hour. I hope everything went smoothly this morning.

Jack: As a matter of fact, believe it or not, it has gone smoothly. I assume your brunch with the new head of r&d went well?

Billy: It did, she’s great. Super talented. I think she’s gonna be a great asset for us. In fact, I had a wonderful morning, and then I ran into tucker.

Jack: Why is he still in town?

Billy: I don’t know, but he made it very clear that he’s not going anywhere anytime soon. By the way, I’m going to forward you an email.

Jack: What is it?

Billy: Confirmation that I returned all the funds into jabot’s account after supposedly embezzling them.

Jack: I don’t need to see that, I trust you.

Billy: Either way, it’s there, but thank you for that.

Jack: It is such a classic tucker mccall scheme, I’m surprised we didn’t see it coming. And him pulling phyllis into it, as vulnerable as she is these days, couldn’t have been too much of a challenge.

Billy: I don’t think that was a challenge at all.

Jack: Billy, I hope you know, I didn’t doubt you, not for a second, when those jabot funds disappeared. I– I hope you know that.

Billy: Jack, those funds went into my personal account, okay? It’s only natural to assume I had something to do with it.

Jack: Not anymore.

Phyllis: It’s like everybody in this town sees me as this person that I’m not. Do you know what I mean? Well, that I’m not anymore. You know, they see me as the she-devil that… chews men up and spits them out. Devour souls and ruins lives.

Danny: Do you have any idea how many people would love nothing more than to trust you and give you the benefit of the doubt? Yeah. They could’ve walked away, but they didn’t, they’re still here. They’re still pulling for you. Even me.

Phyllis: Even you? After everything I did to you? The lies, seduction… drugs… sex. You should feel flattered.

[ Danny laughs ]

Danny: Wait, f– flattered?

Phyllis: Yeah.

Danny: I’m sorry, how do you figure?

Phyllis: I don’t know.

[ Laughs ] Because– I don’t know, there are four billion men on this planet and you’re the one that I decided to do that to. So, you should be flattered.

Danny: That– that’s right. Yeah, absolutely, no. Thank you for the compliment, really.

[ Phyllis laughs ]

Phyllis: I’m kidding. I mean, you’re welcome, but I’m kidding.

[ Danny chuckles ]

Danny: But you see what I mean? I’m still here. Daniel’s still here. Summer’s still here. There’s so many people that are still here that haven’t given up on you.

[ Phyllis sighs ]

Phyllis: They’ve come close.

Danny: Close doesn’t count. Now, all we need is some proof that we can trust you rather than having to take your word for it and find out later. “Nope wrong, sorry, maybe, next time.”

Phyllis: That sounds lovely. I just– I don’t know where to start, where do I start?

Danny: With you, phyllis. With presenting a positive attitude, okay? Instead of this “woe is me” posture that you’ve been carrying around for as long as I’ve known you. Making you happy isn’t anyone else’s job. This is your job and you know what? Happiness doesn’t come from somewhere out there, it comes from right here.

Phyllis: Oh, my god. You really are sunshine and roses. So, you’re saying that it’s that simple? In life, I just find a silver lining.

Danny: That’s how it works.

Phyllis: That’s how it works.

Danny: Mm-hmm.

Phyllis: That sounds exhausting. [ Laughs ]

Danny: You know, you say things like that because it’s clever and witty. But it’s just distracting from what’s really going on with you. You scoff at any suggestion anyone makes that just might help you turn this thing around.

Phyllis: All right, so you say that I should just go through life and pretend that everything’s great? And I could just take on any challenge that comes along because I’m phyllis summers? And I choose my own happiness? Is that your advice?

Danny: I don’t want you to pretend it, I want you to feel it. And not for daniel, for summer, me or anyone else. You have to do this for you. Stop looking for someone else to fix this. Feel good about yourself. Start believing in yourself and you’d be amazed how quickly people start believing in you too.

Jack: I suppose it’s too much to ask that when you saw tucker, he was checking out the athletic club and heading to the airport.

Billy: No such luck. He did say that he was going to back off of his plan to come after jabot and I was very clear when I said backing off is not abandoning.

Jack: Even if he had said “abandoning–”

Billy: Which I pointed out.

Jack: Yeah, but I still don’t trust him. In the unlikely event he does give up on jabot, why would he stay in genoa city?

Billy: He didn’t want to turn his back on dom and devon, his beloved son and grandson. Whatever.

Jack: Wow. How touching.

Billy: Which is exactly why I think we should have kept working to turn devon against tucker in the first place.

Jack: We have already been through this, that was the wrong move.

Billy: No, it was one we disagreed on.

Jack: And we still do.

Billy: Enough said.

Jack: End of discussion.

Billy: Mm-hmm. End of discussion.

Jack: Thank you. Now, all we have to worry about is keeping tucker from blowing up this celebration.

Billy: He claimed to know nothing about it.

Jack: You believe him?

Billy: Hell no.

Jack: Good.

Billy: Believe me, I’m gonna keep my eye on him.

Jack: Mm– I don’t want you doing this.

Billy: No, I want to do that.

Jack: I want you being part of this celebration. Enjoying everyone together.

Billy: Jack, I’m gonna enjoy keeping him on the outside. Trust me, and with his flair for dramatic, I’m gonna have to watch out for helicopters, swat team, plague of locusts.

Jack: Let tucker mccall be the security team’s problem. I am sick and tired of this man and his drama invading my thoughts and my family life.

Billy: Believe me, I’m sick of him in general.

Jack: He does not deserve another moment of time or energy or thought. Today is about love and romance and celebrating together. I want it to be perf– perfect.

Is it menopause

or something else?

Jack: You look like an angel.

Diane: I feel like a queen.

Phyllis: So, are you gonna finish that song or what?

Danny: [ Chuckles ] Yeah. Yeah, yeah, absolutely. Come on. Yeah. Come on. Have a seat.

Phyllis: Yeah?

Danny: Yeah. Have a seat. All right. Let’s give it a go.

[ Piano melody playing ]

Phyllis: Yay.

Danny: That’s it. That is the bridge that I’ve been struggling with all morning. So seriously, what do you think?

Phyllis: Oh, I think it’s amazing, I love it.

Danny: I like it too. Hey, thanks for the inspiration.

Phyllis: You’re welcome. Thank you… for being so empathetic and compassionate with me.

Danny: Well, I figured when you find someone who’s down and they sincerely want to stand back up, you don’t kick them, you offer them a hand.

[ Both chuckling ]

Tucker: We have a bigger problem anyway, and you will need to help me solve it.

Audra: Will I? What are you talking about?

Tucker: The damn singer. The evidence that adam got his hands on, the pr team’s cover-up, or our cover-up, or their cover-up.

Audra: Wait. How can that be? Adam was supposed to destroy those incriminating emails.

Tucker: Apparently, he decided to go a different route.

Audra: What did he do?

Tucker: He sold it to the abbotts.

Audra: Interesting.

Tucker: Yeah, it’s not the word I would use, but…

Audra: Well, big picture aside, and I guess adam has ruined your plans to go after jabot. What are you gonna do now?

[ Tucker sighs ]

Kyle: But it’ll be fun.

Traci: And wait, so you’re gonna officiate, today?

Kyle: Yeah.

Traci: That’s so romantic.

Kyle: A little last minute, but I can pull it off.

Traci: I love that, that’s fantastic.

Kyle: I have a few tricks up my sleeve, let’s step over here, come on.

[ Traci chuckling ] Summer, has harrison settled down yet?

Summer: Uh, not a chance. The nanny’s gonna take him to the park to see if that helps, he’s– he’s a little overexcited.

Traci: Yes, I noticed that and I can’t imagine where that came from.

Kyle: Neither can I. I was a very laid-back child.

Traci: [ Laughing ] You’re not buying any of this, are you?

Summer: Not for a second.

Traci: Good. Good.

[ All laughing ]

Kyle: But seriously, thank you for checking in on them.

Summer: It’s my pleasure. You know that. Uh, excuse me, I’m gonna go get a glass of champagne.

Chance: Thank you.

Sharon: Cheers.

Jack: Could I please have your attention? First of all, welcome. And thank you for being part of this celebration of love and family and friends. As a side note for any naysayers still among us, my bride and i ask that you look into our eyes this afternoon and see for yourself just how genuine, how strong, how powerful our love story is.

[ All cheering, applauding ]

Announcer: Next week on the young and the restless…

Phyllis: Wait, does christine still hold a special place in your heart, even now?

Danny: Of course, she does.

Heather: I’ve decided to wrap up my law practice in europe and move back home.

Daniel: Are you thinking of going back to savannah?

Heather: No, we’re moving here, genoa city.

Nick: I absolutely hate it that adam is manipulating you. It’s just adam. He’s always going to be him and it’s clearly affecting you. I can’t go through this again.

Sally: What are you saying?

Tucker: I just don’t want any more chaos in my life. Just peace and quiet.

Devon: Well, I hope that’s true.

Tucker: You can count on it.

Devon: I have another question for you. What’s your connection to aunt mamie?

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

[ Knock on door ] Hey, michael. Hey. I wasn’t expecting to see you today. Well, it’s kind of a last-minute kind of thing. Well, must be important if you decided to come all the way down here instead of call me. Is that a problem? No, no, just — just, uh, unusual. Well, you know, maybe I’m trying to be a little more spontaneous in my old age. So, uh… what brings you here? Well, I know I shouldn’t be asking this, but… I need a favor that only you can do for me. Hey, anna. Hi. Oh, there you are. Hello. Appreciate you meeting me. Yeah. Sure. Yeah. I have to say, I was a bit surprised by the invite. You know, I’ve been looking out for you since the shooting at the metro court. Yeah. I appreciate that. I’m being very cautious. I — one eye over my shoulder, because apparently, I’ve got a target on my back now. Has anything happened? Like threats or anything like that? No. That’s good — good to hear. Is that why you asked to see me? Because you want to check up on me? No. I just want to let you know that I’m gonna be gone for a few days. If you need anything — and I mean anything — you know, I’m just a phone call away. I cannot remember how long it’s been since you have visited me at my office. This must be really important. What did I do to deserve this visit? It’s not what you’ve done. It’s what you’re gonna do. You see, typically when someone wants me to do a favor for them, they ask me nicely and say, “please.” What do you need? Put this paper to good use… and save a man’s life. Just tell me when and where, and I’m there. That’s my girl. I’m actually really excited about it. Yeah. And after everything you’ve done for me lately, how could I possibly say no? Thank you. Uh… I know I could always count on you. Wow. Well, that is not something I hear every day, and it’s so nice. Hey, diane, can, uh, you give me a call? I just want some kind of an update on when they plan on taking drew back to pentonville.

[ Knock on door ] Um…I-I just need to know. Thanks. Hey. Hey, carly. Um, I know this must be difficult for you. I mean, nobody wants drew to go back to prison. I mean, I keep hoping diane’s gonna call and tell me that she’s figured out some kind of loophole to stop drew from going back there, but… and you know that we’re looking into the judge to see if we can find some kind of bias, but that seems to be a long shot. So, I don’t know. Yeah, she’s doing everything she can. There’s nobody more tenacious than diane. The girls are in school. You know that. So, you must be here to see me. You guessed right. Okay. Please tell me this isn’t bad news. Please. Well, it — it kind of depends on your perspective. That’s cryptic. What’s going on? Uh, nina and i are eloping.

[ Knock on door ] Hi. I, uh, came by to see if things were any better with charlotte. Nina, come in. Oh, this place, valentin, is so beautiful. Charlotte must be so thrilled to finally be in her own home with her dad. What’s wrong? What happened? Who’s the suit? Oh, it’s a gift from sonny. Can you send it back? No. Well, tell me, where does sonny get off sending a goon over here to keep an eye on you? He has a very caring side. Yeah, so did attila the hun. He was worried about me, and he wanted to offer me protection, uh, which I refused, first of all, but I didn’t think I needed it. And now you do? I changed my mind. Did something happen? What? Other than the recent disturbing events? No. And nothing has happened in the last 24 hours since I’ve had protection. And, so you’re living in the metro court? Yeah. Until I move into the new place. Valentin has bought a house for us. Uh, w-wait. When did you go house hunting? I didn’T. He bought the house on his own. Heh. Eh, well, he could have at least made you part of the process.

[ Chuckles ] Unless, of course, you think he’s hiding something. He’s always hiding something. But the house isn’t part of that. You know, this was really meant to be a surprise. Mm. And he is nothing if not full of those.

[ Chuckles ] Yeah, he certainly is. How’d it go with sonny? How did you know he was — you know, esme has to quit sharing every visitor that comes into my office. And it’s not that I have anything to hide. It’s just she needs to learn a little discretion. Esme is not to blame. When a notorious coffee importer shows up here, people tend to talk, and usually in hushed tones. Sonny’s good fodder for the water cooler. Mm-hmm. Well, they’re gonna be very disappointed because he just came to ask for a favor. Nothing illegal, I hope. Mnh-mnh. He wanted to see if “the invader” could help leverage judge albert kim. Eh, he’s the judge that sentenced drew cain to three years in pentonville. What outcome is sonny hoping for? Carly thinks the judge’s sentence was unnecessarily harsh, and we’re hoping maybe we could get the sentence reduced or at the very least, have him moved to a safer facility. Just how does sonny suggest you do that? That’s what we have to figure out. Wow. Eloping, huh? What happened to the big blowout wedding you were planning? Well, I wasn’t planning the wedding. I just told nina she could do whatever she wants with the wedding. I know olivia was helping. Was that tough for you? No. I’m a big girl, you know? Olivia can do what she wants, and we’re too close for something like that to bother me. Well, there’s just so many details, and, you know, things like that. A w-wedding should be about a celebration, not a deadline. Just surprising considering all the noise nina was making about, you know, her big wedding celebration. Well, you know what? Uh, we’re just going to fly down to the island. It’s not gonna be a big deal. It’s gonna be a small ceremony. It’s just, uh… me and nina and whatever kids are — are able to go. Kids. That’s why you’re here? Well, I-I would love if donna could go. It would, you know, mean everything, if you’re okay with that.

Nina, I’m lost. I am just totally lost. Charlotte and i used to be so close, and now I feel like I don’t even know her. Yeah. I know. This must be so difficult for you. Not just me. She’s gonna need professional help. I’ve been trying to find her a therapist. Well, it might take you a while to find someone because she’s in a very serious situation, valentin. You’re gonna have to find the doctor who’s the right fit. I’ve always been able to talk to you, haven’t I? I mean, no matter how raw it gets, you understand me, don’t you? Better than anybody. Probably even anna. I don’t know how it got this way. I mean, this is my little girl we’re talking about. We are going to figure this out, okay? Together. Where is charlotte now? She’s on a bike ride. That’s why I’m doing research and making phone calls. So, you haven’t said anything to her? No, I-I-I just don’t know what I would say if she lied to me, if she denied it. I mean, I don’t know how I would react. Why is this happening? Did I do something to make her act out like this? You told dad what? I explained that I couldn’t go to the wedding, but I’d go to the next one. Okay, that’s not even funny, dante. I’m just kidding. So, you are gonna go? You didn’t turn him down? No, I’m not kidding about that part. I’m telling the truth about that part. I don’t — you have to come. Seriously. Dad asked you to be his best man, didn’t he? Uh, yeah, he did, and I’m honored. I just — I-I can’t go away right now. Right. No, I — that I do get, ’cause the pcpd softball team — I’m sure they really need their star pitcher. Ha-ha-ha. Very funny. Yeah, they probably do, but, no, I just got a lot of stuff going on here. Well, what stuff is more important than dad’s wedding? Charlotte was living with us, now she’s moved out. Uh, scout’s father, drew — we’re dealing with the fact that he’s behind bars. It’s been tough on her. I mean, my job is — look, you seem more annoyed than sonny did. He — he took this a lot better than you. I-I just think you should come, and I-I think it’s important that we be there to support dad. I agree. But dad knows I support him. We’ve had our ups and downs. He knows — he knows I’m behind him and nina’s relationship. Alright. Well, nothing can keep me away. Well, that’s good. You’ll be representing. I don’t think I’ll be the only one, actually. Oh. Dad asked michael to come. Really? Yeah. Well, that’s big, considering the place they’re in. What did michael say? Excuse me. How can I help you? I’m looking for my wife, willow corinthos. She’s a nurse here. Um, I think she’s still on break, but let me check for you. Okay, thank you. I’ll wait here.

[ Exhales sharply ] I wanted to tell you in person. Well, usually when somebody says that, it’s not good news. Well, it’s good news for me, at least. Nina and I are eloping. We’re going down to the island. Oh. Um… well, I-I guess congratulations are in order. Michael, I know times have been tough this past year, but I think we’ve moved past that, haven’t we? Yeah, I mean, everything that happened to willow helped me realize how important family is. Yeah, but nina is your family, so, I mean… I know there’s been a strain between you two, but — yeah, that’s an understatement. But she’S… …she’s tried to really make an effort between you and willow, and nothing would make her happier than spending time with amelia and wiley. Look, I-I have to admit, things have been better with nina. You know, she– she’s trying to respect our boundaries. Nothing would mean more to nina than to have willow at that wedding, and it would mean a lot to me to have you there. So, is there any chance that… you’ll go? This is not your fault. I-I-I wish I had the answers. She is a teenage girl, and teenage girls can be very complicated. This is the cassadine curse, isn’t it? None of this godforsaken family gets to be happy. Please, valentin, do not go there. This is — has nothing to do with a curse, okay? You and charlotte are not doomed. She’s an adolescent who got herself into trouble. She’s struggling, but we will get her help. So overwhelming.

[ Sighs ] I’m sure anna’s been supportive. What does she think? I haven’t told her. I mean, how am I going to tell her that my daughter is the one who’s been tormenting her? You know, if charlotte’s the one who set the fire, she’s going to be facing very serious criminal charges. Mm. Well, we just have to be very grateful that no one was in the house. I mean, if charlotte did do this, she made sure of that. Is that supposed to make me feel better? I’m — I’m just making the point, valentin. She’s not trying to hurt anna. She’s not a murderer. She’s just crying out for help. No, it’s more than that. She’s terrorizing the woman that I love, and I’m trying to keep that from escalating, but am I doing the wrong thing by not telling anna? Y-you know how much donna loves weddings. Of course she can go. Thank you. Because you know how happy she was at michael’s wedding. Yeah. Hopefully both girls can go. Well, that’s the plan. Have you talked to ava? Because avery wouldn’t want to miss it. I called ava. She hasn’t, uh, gotten back to me yet, but I hope there’s no problem there, because it would not be the same without avery. Well, it looks like you thought of everything for your tropical ceremony. Well, you know, um… I’m trying, you know? I think I covered all the bases. Oh, no, wait. That favor that you asked for drew? I’m working on it. Well, let’s hope it comes in time to save drew. Are you sure you want to get into this? I mean, I’ve heard a lot of stories about people who do sonny’s bidding, and sometimes, it doesn’t end well. You think? I’m very well aware of the “methods” sonny uses to handle things. This time, he would like it handled legitimately. Are you sure you and sonny don’t share any similarities? Why, I think I am offended, professor chase. No. I-I don’t know sonny well, but from what I hear, he has a reputation for ruthlessness. I know firsthand how ruthless you can be when it comes to the pursuit of truth in journalism. Really? Do go on. I’m just saying that y-you’re a force of nature when it comes to business, and that’s — that’s a good thing, by the way. This is really very entertaining, watching you try to dig yourself out of the hole you just dug yourself into. Trying to compliment me after you call me ruthless? That is some fancy footwork. Well, unfortunately, that’s the only footwork I’m still capable of these days.

I know that he wants to make peace with dad. There’s definitely been a lot less tension lately. Yeah, but that’s a far cry from michael attending the wedding. But, you know, they have to start somewhere if they want to get back to where they were. Well, I don’t know if they’ll ever get back to where they were, but it’s definitely a step in the right direction. So, is michael going to the wedding or not? I don’t know. I hope so. But I’ll tell you one thing — I am not excited to be on an island with him and nina for the next few days. Wait, I thought you were team nina? I am. I like nina. A lot. Most importantly, dad loves her, but I haven’t forgotten what she did to michael and willow. That’s some serious damage, and we both know how our brother holds a grudge. Yeah, kind of just like dad. Dad. Yeah. Hey, blaze. Hey, kristina. Hi. Oh, this is my brother, dante. We meet again. Michael: I cannot give you an answer right now until I talk to willow first. I get it. I-I just hope that willow does this for nina, because the — the ceremony wouldn’t be the same without wiley there, right? She wants wiley to be the ring bearer, like he was at your wedding, because he’s — he’s — he’s a pro now. Yeah, yeah. Um… it’s just, uh, willow has a lot going on right now and she — she just got back to work. Uh… I’m not sure she’s gonna want to drop all that and — and get on a plane. Okay, I just — I just want you to think about it. Michael, I heard you were looking for me. Is everything alright? Did something happen with the kids? I just don’t know what to do. We can’t involve the police. No, no, valentin, we are not bringing the police into this. She’s a — she’s a teenager. She’s 15 years old. Okay? If — if — if she did do this and the police find out, they will send her away. No, you cannot let that happen. We’re just gonna — we’re gonna have to handle this ourselves. And how are we gonna do that? We’re gonna find another way to get through to charlotte. Hey. We’re not giving up on her.

[ Chuckles ] You know, I’ve always appreciated your support. Well, even though we went our separate ways, valentin, I will always care about you and charlotte. I love her.

[ Voice breaking ] I don’t know what I’d do without your help. Yeah, about that. Um… well, you’re gonna have to deal with this on your own. That’s why I came by, to tell you. I’m leaving town. So, I think valentin feels that this house is a way for him to focus on his daughter. You know, charlotte, he feels, needs a more stable environment. She’s had a very tough year. Weren’t you telling me that victor is keeping her at a boarding school? Right, and then when she did finally come home, she’s been bouncing from house to house. First it was laura’s, and then it was sam and dante. That’s not to say that they weren’t there for her, but, you know, very supportive, but she’s 15, and along with that age comes anxiety and insecurity. Yeah. Mac was having a problem with robin like that. Charlotte needs her father’s undivided attention. I totally understand that, you know? I think maybe valentin feels providing a house for her is the first step in putting her on more solili meantime, you’re roughing it in a hotel. Well, god, I mean, I don’t call room service roughing it. I thought you didn’t want me with valentin. I don’T. However, you should have the final choice on where you live. Okay, so, why don’t we just agree to disagree when it comes to the subject of my relationship with valentin? Okay. So, I asked you here because I need your help. With? Something crucial.

Uh, I paid alexis a visit and suggested she look into the matter for us. You suggested? Well, I got — you know, pretty much politely demanded, is more of a way of saying it. I told her she needs to use that paper and her investigation skills to look into judge kim, because we have to figure out why he gave drew such a harsh sentence. Sonny, we need to do more than look into judge kim. We’ve got to get the judge to commute drew’s sentence or send him to a safer facility. I mean, does alexis understand that? Okay, alexis knows that the goal is to get drew out of pentonville, but it’s not gonna happen overnight. First thing she needs to do is a deep dive into kim’s record. We have to figure out what makes him vulnerable, and then we have an opening. You think alexis is gonna come through? I am confident that she’ll deliver for us. Sorry. That was meant to be a joke, but clearly it didn’t land. You have every right to handle your disease any way you see fit, and if you want to joke about it, joke about it. Go for it. You don’t have to edit your words with me. I’m gonna follow your lead. I feel like I’m constantly thanking you for being understanding, but thank you again. You don’t need to keep thanking me or apologizing. Well, what’s that quote from that movie? “Friendship means never having to say you’re sorry.” I think that’s “love means…” I just… you just don’t need to keep thanking me. I still haven’t told chase. I know you keep telling me to wait until I’m ready, but when will that be? I can’t keep hiding behind my work here, and I wake up some mornings so determined to go over there and tell him the truth, but then I find myself here instead. And I used to lecture my students about procrastination, tell them putting off that term paper won’t make it any easier. This is a little bigger than a homework assignment. Look, you’re gonna tell chase when you tell chase. I’m just being selfish. I just want more time with my son before he looks at me with pity, only sees the disease and not his father. Well, I think you’re wrong, and I don’t think he’s gonna react that way at all, but — but, you know, you’ll — you’ll do what feels right for you, and I-I’m not judging you. Speaking of judges, how are we gonna handle judge kim? Hey, good to see you again. Nice to see you, too. Oh, dante was my hero at the nurses’ ball. Oh. I don’t like to brag.

[ Chuckles ] Since when?

[ Chuckles ] Often. Mm. After brook lynn outed linc on stage, dante grabbed him and dragged him out of the metro court. Nice work, detective. Just doing my job, ma’am. Oh, that’s right. I almost forgot. My brother, the knight in shining armor.

[ Chuckles ] And don’t think I forgot how nice you were the day we ran into each other at kelly’S. Oh — oh, yeah. Wow. That was — that was a few months ago. No, we, uh — we saw blaze a-at — at kelly’s, and — and rocco had been watching her music videos. He was a big fan, and then I saw you guys at rice plaza. You guys were great, but you were so gracious to us. Thanks. Thank you.

[ Chuckles ] Well, you two are practically bffs. Who would have guessed that? No, no, everyone’s fine, okay? Sorry. I didn’t mean to worry you. Oh… well, it must be something important for you to come all the way to gh. Yeah. Look, I, uh… wanted to tell you that sonny paid me a visit earlier, and, um… apparently, he and nina are eloping in puerto rico. Okay. Uh, the last time I spoke to nina, she was knee-deep in wedding planning. It sounded like a huge event here in port charles. I guess she changed her mind. Does this mean we get out of going to the wedding?

[ Chuckles ] No, no. No such luck. Um, we’re definitely on the guest list. Sonny wants us to fly down to puerto rico. You’re leaving town? It’s just for a few days. Don’t worry. And I-I feel silly talking about it, given everything that you’re going through, but sonny and I — we’re going to puerto rico. We’re eloping. You’re — you’re eloping? Yeah. I thought you were having a big wedding at the metro court? Yeah, well, that was the plan, but it got complicated, and it was really stressful, and we just want to get married as soon as possible, and the best solution was to have a small ceremony on sonny’s island. Well, if that’s what you want, I’m happy for you. Hey. You can always call me. I’m not gonna call you. I’m not gonna interrupt your wedding. I sure don’t need sonny after me. Besides, laura’s coming back from london and we’re gonna figure out what to do with charlotte together. Papa? Are you keeping things from me?

You know I’m gonna do whatever you want, so what do you need? Alright. Let’s just look at the recent events, starting with the shooting at the pool. I think that bullet was meant for sonny, not me. He’s got his fair share of enemies. Well, so do I, but I think I’m being targeted in a completely different way. I don’t follow. Alright. After the shooting at the pool, my house was torched, and then my room here was vandalized. Now, what does that tell you? Your enemy’s toying with you. They’re trying to break you down, you know? What do you want to do about that? Charlotte? You didn’t tell me nina was coming over. I was putting my bike away, and I saw her car out front. Oh, I’m so happy to see you. Hey, come here. It’s so nice to see you. How are you? Much better now that I’m living with papa. Yeah, it’s a beautiful place. Are you settling in okay? Yeah. Everything’s perfect. Can you stay and have lunch with us? Uh — uh — no. I’m so sorry. I-I just came over to, um, tell your dad that I was leaving town for a few days. Sonny and I are going to puerto rico. Cool. I wish papa and I could take a trip with you some day. Yeah, I’m not s-sure that a-anna would be so thrilled with that. Yeah, I know, but I was just thinking how great it would be if we could go to europe. Remember, we used to always talk about doing that? That’s right. That is — that is right. Hey, how about this? Why don’t we plan a girls trip, just you and me? And you know what? Maybe I can convince maxie to allow georgie to come with us. You — you like georgie, right? Yeah. I used to see her a lot when my mom was still here, but I’d rather just go alone with you if papa can’t come with us. Yeah. It’s a deal. I love you, nina. Oh, I love you. Alexis: [ Sighs ] Looks like judge kim has a number of high-profile cases. His opinions he wrote for his decision read like bait for a promotion. Can you elaborate on that for those of us that didn’t attend law school? From what I can tell, it seems like he’s trying to impress the judicial board in hopes of a higher appointment. And how does he go about that? Yeah, when judges are trying to climb the ladder, they set new precedents, and they do that with their opinions, and what they want is for those precedents to be appealed and upheld. So, in simpler terms, it looks like judge kim is trying to get the attention from those above him, and if that’s the case, then maybe we can help him do just that. Thank you, for everything you’re doing for drew’s case. Drew’s a good man. He doesn’t deserve what’s happening to him. And, I mean, him being in prison, it affects you, and no matter what has happened between us, you’re the mother of my children. I just want you to be happy. That means a lot. So, from all the research that diane has gathered, it looks like judge kim is hoping for a promotion to the federal bench. I’m thinking he’d be more than happy to meet with the press and cooperate. Yeah, that’s — that’s — that gives alexis a way in. That’s a good strategy. Yeah. It’s all we have for now. Do me a favor. Tell drew to sit tight ’cause I’m doing everything I can behind the scenes to get him out of there. I will. Hey, did you ever find out who austin was visiting in pentonville?

means that he’ll be about lawyers.

The look on your face,I’d say you have a plan. What are you thinking? My guess is this guy has an ego. Most judges do. I hear the same about lawyers. I’m not sure who’s worse.

[ Chuckles ] But what I think is this guy is really career-oriented. He wants to get ahead, which means that he’ll be very susceptible to the lure of publicity. And that’s where you come in. We call him in for an interview. We pump him up. We tell him that we’re interested in doing an article about his decisions, take some pictures, and hopefully, he’ll eat it up. And then you go in for the kill and ask him about drew’s sentence. Hmm. Good plan of attack, counselor. Like I said, ruthless. Unfortunately, we have no information on that yet. Uh, we don’t know who’s pulling the strings when it comes to austin and mason. And trailing betty didn’t turn up anything? Well, I had dex watching her every move, thinking that she would lead us to the boss, but, uh, that didn’t happen. We — we have somebody watching austin, and my guys are, you know, doing everything they can until I get back from the wedding. That’s what you should be concentrating on right now. Yeah, I know. And look, I’m gonna have donna all packed and ready to go. Can’t wait to see her face when I tell her. Please take a couple of pictures of her for me, okay? Okay. And let me know if you hear from ava, because she can just bring avery here and you can pick both girls up at the same time. Thanks. That — that means a lot. It’s been a painful couple years. Yeah. But I just want you to be happy, too. Yeah. I feel the same way. I’ll see you. Bye.

[ Door closes ] So, I am flying down to puerto rico later today for my dad’s wedding. Ooh, a destination wedding. How exciting. Well, they’re eloping. Thank god. Dante. What? No, I’m just telling it like it is. I think they’re being smart by — by keeping it a small family ceremony. Why do you say that? Because I feel like if they had a big wedding in port charles, they’d be asking for trouble. This is where you come in. I need your help because I am almost certain that this threat is coming from inside the wsb, someone with access to the bureau’s resources. You think this is the same person who outed you for being a double agent? I don’t know. I have my suspicions. I mean, just look at the timing. Think about it. None of this started until I was exposed in the press. It — it has to be connected. It has to be. It can’t just be a coincidence. This is revenge by someone who you wronged in a past case? Well, my actions back then hurt a lot of people. They might want payback. You haven’t been an active operative in years. Does somebody hold a grudge that long? I don’t know. I just really need your help in getting some information from inside the bureau.

[ Sighs ] Well, as I’ve said, my influence in there since frisco left is rather limited, and as for this new director, whatever influence I might have is gonna be

[Chuckles] Limited at best. Limited is better than non-existent. Please, will you help me? Find out what is going on and who is after me. It was so good to see you. Hey. Do you remember our handshake? Come on. Yeah. Do it. Alright, I’m gonna have to go to the gallery ’cause I’ve been trying to get ahold of ava with no luck, so I thought I would try her there. I miss you so much, nina. Please come over after your trip. I promise. Okay, see you soon. Okay. Thanks for coming. It meant a lot to charlotte. It’s good to see her smile. We’re gonna figure this out when I get back, okay?

[ Sighs ] Have a nice trip. Fly to an intimate wedding? It would be one thing if it was 200 guests at the metro court. Then we’d be able to blend into the background. But this… yeah, it would just be family, so we’d be front and center. I mean, I know I’ve been pushing you lately to accept nina, but this is a lot. You finally made peace with your dad and nina. It’s — it’s so new. Yeah, so do we really want to put it to the test? Charlotte… what happened to you?

[ Exhales sharply ]

[ Cellphone rings ] Hey. How’s my bride to be? I’m okay. You don’t sound okay. What’s wrong? It’s just — it’s been an emotional day.

[ Clears throat ] Where are you? Uh, I’ve been all over town doing things, but I’m finished now. I’m all yours.

[ Chuckles ] Well, that’s all I’ve ever wanted. Well, you better get packing. We’re getting married.

[ Chuckles ] Yes, we are.

[ Chuckles ]

[ Relaxing music ]

Hope: I’m, uh… I’m sorry to get emotional.

Finn: Oh, hey, there’s nothing to apologize for.

Hope: Well, I appreciate it. It’s been, uh… it’s been hard just trying to keep my head above water and… with that being said, hey, I didn’t mean to get into everything here.

Finn: No, hey, I totally understand. Look, Steffy, she went through the exact same thing. I think that’s one of the reasons you allowed yourself to turn to Thomas. It’s because he is totally committed to you, and only you. But, like I said, I think you can do better than Thomas.

[ Deacon laughing ]

Sheila: Are we really engaged?

Deacon: Yeah, well, you made me work for it before you said yes. There we go. All right. Breakfast of champions.

Sheila: Mm…

Deacon: Oops.

Sheila: You got that?

Deacon: All right. Yup. Cheers.

Sheila: Cheers.

Deacon: Mm. Mmm!

Sheila: Mm. Mmm!

Deacon: That’s good.

Sheila: You know why I didn’t say yes immediately.

Deacon: Yeah, ’cause you were worried about my relationship with Hope.

Ridge: This showdown is gonna stay intimate. Just a few select buyers that won’t know that this is a competition. Dad and I, we’re gonna roll out just a handful of new designs, and whoever sells the most wins, and that line goes into production. Easy peasy.

Carter: Yes, easy peasy. Sounds very thorough. You see this?

Ridge: The diamonds?

Carter: Mm-hmm.

Eric: Well, you got my order, huh?

Ridge: Yeah. You don’t think you’re going overboard a little?

Eric: Donna, look. You see that look in his eyes?

Donna: Mm-hmm.

Eric: He’s picturing all of his designs, wondering if any of them could possibly compete with my opulence.

Ridge: Or maybe, you see, he’s picturing how jewel tones will destroy classic opulence–

Eric: You know, classic never goes out of style.

Donna: You should know.

Eric: Thank you, darling. See? She understands. Look, when I come out on top, you will have learned your lesson. That nothing and no one can hold back Eric Forrester.

Luna: I, um… I don’t think that line can get any darker. What’s going on?

RJ: Nothing.

Luna: It’s your grandfather, isn’t it?

RJ: Yeah. I spoke to my Aunt Donna, and she says, uh… the situation with my granddad is a lot worse than I thought.

Luna: Look, I don’t mean to pry, and you don’t have to tell me anything you don’t want to.

RJ: No. No, no, it’s not that, it’s– come on, I meant it when I told you that I trusted you. I do, okay? It’s just this is– this is a lot. My granddad’s doctor says that it’s cerebrovascular disease or TIA’s. Mini strokes.

Luna: I’m so sorry. Does anyone else know?

Eric: You, uh, you think you’re gonna be ready?

Ridge: Oh, I know I’m gonna be ready.

Carter: Here we go.

Donna: Uh-huh.

Eric: Jewel tones. That’s an interesting choice.

Ridge: He’s not gonna get in my head.

Eric: I’m not trying to get into your head. It’s just jewel– I said jewel tones are an interesting choice.

Ridge: Yes, says the man who can’t design anything without French lace.

Carter: It’s like they’re the same person.

Donna: Seriously.

Eric: French lace is wonderful. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

Ridge: Exactly. Don’t fix it. The hands of the master.

Eric: There you are.

[ Carter laughs ]

[ Donna laughs ]

Sheila: What do you think? Should we save this cork?

[ Deacon chuckles ]

Sheila: What?

Deacon: No, I just I didn’t peg you for a sentimentalist.

Sheila: Okay, forget it.

Deacon: No! Hey, hey! Oh, you almost made it. Uh, no, look, it’s a good thing, you know? Um, chalk it up to the new you.

Sheila: You know, it really means a lot to me that you really believe I’m a changed woman. I just… I want Finn to see that too. I want him to believe it.

Finn: I don’t know where things are with you and Thomas, and I’m not asking, but look, I do know that he’s done a lot of messed up things to you in the past. And maybe Ridge and Taylor and Steffy, maybe they’re all right, you know? Maybe Thomas has changed. Maybe he’s new and reformed, and that would be wonderful. But it doesn’t change the fact that you are an incredible person who deserves better than Thomas.

Eric: This never gets old, being back in my office again.

Ridge: Well, why don’t you sit down, relax, take the weight off. Enjoy yourself.

Eric: Oh, I will. After I beat you in the fashion challenge and take back what’s rightfully mine, never to relinquish it again. So, Carter, you’ll make sure that those orders go through?

Carter: Already approved.

Eric: Good.

Donna: Honey Bear, um, we should probably get home if you want to make that meeting.

Eric: Yeah. Yeah, thanks. Time’s running out, Ridge.

Luna: So, Eric hasn’t gotten, like, an official diagnosis yet?

RJ: Donna says they still need to run more tests, but I went online and I looked up possibilities, which you should never do, but I did. And, uh, it’s not good. My granddad’s situation’s a lot worse than when he told me it was just arthritis.

Luna: You know, staying positive can do wonders. I really believe that. For both your mental and physical health.

RJ: I’m trying to.

Luna: I– I mean, for your– for your grandfather. I think he’s got the best setup for it. You know, with– with Donna, she’s always so cheery and loving with him, and you helping him with his collection. You’re keeping him excited and motivated about the future. He’s so lucky to have you, RJ.

Sheila: I’m just saying, maybe this engagement will help Finn to see that I’m not unlovable.

Deacon: Wait a second. You didn’t accept my proposal so that–

Sheila: No, daddy.

Deacon: All right.

Sheila: No, I didn’t. These are two separate things.

Deacon: Okay, just checking. Making sure.

Sheila: But really, it… it might help him see that I am loveable. I do want a second chance with him. I don’t want him to think that I’m the monster that Steffy and the Forresters make me out to be.

Deacon: Okay, well, then, as your fiancé, I vow to do everything I can to make that happen.

Finn: All I’m saying is I think whatever you see in Thomas is because you’ve been deprived of a man who is thoroughly and totally committed to you.

Hope: Okay, well, reality check appreciated.

[ Both chuckling ]

Hope: Uh, but I do think if we are being honest here with each other, I mean, those divided feelings, that cycle that I’ve talked about being a part of for so long. I mean, like you said, Steffy has felt that way too, and she’s always going to have that tie to Liam, um… and I’m not– I’m not saying that you guys are having troubles. Steffy’s smart, and she is insightful. And I cannot imagine her taking your love and your commitment for granted.

Hope: Well, I– I guess I have to thank Kelly for losing her pillow ’cause, uh, this is actually– it’s been nice talking to you. Refreshing. I feel like you understand what I’m going through.

Finn: You’re gonna be all right. You are all right. And you are a strong, compassionate, incredible, beautiful person. And working through this, it’s gonna take some time and energy and it’s emotionally draining, but once you’re on the other side of it, you’re not gonna be sorry. Hey, and at least you already know your own worth. You do. You deserve a man’s whole heart. And he’s out there, Hope. It’s just not Thomas.

Carter: What?

Ridge: What? Here I was so worried about my dad and it seems like it was all for nothing.

Carter: What do you mean?

Ridge: What do you mean what do I mean? You saw him. He’s doing great. He’s at the top of his game.

Donna: Here, let me help. Here, let me help you, please. It’s okay. Here.

Eric: “The hands of a master.” [ Chuckles ] Thank you.

Donna: You’re welcome. That’s okay.

[ Eric grunting ]

Donna: These hands of yours belong right here, okay?

[ Eric chuckling ]

Donna: Right here. We’re gonna get you help, okay? We can get the best doctors in L.A., And, um, nothing is gonna hold you back.

Eric: No, nothing will. Nothing’s gonna keep me from creating this crowning achievement of my career. Nothing.

[ Eric coughing ]

Donna: Are–

[ Eric exhales sharply ]

Eric: It’s all right. It’s nothing. It’s nothing.

[ Both chuckling ]

Eric: I’m sorry. I’m sorry. Here, come here. Come here. Come here.

Luna: It’s obviously weighing on you, your grandfather’s condition. I mean, whatever it ends up being. And the fact that he asked you to keep it from everyone? I mean, carrying a big secret like this is a real burden. I know how it feels.

RJ: What are you? You CIA? Are you deep cover? Is that it? Is that what this all is?

Luna: Oh, my god. [Laughs] No, I just– I just gotta say how lucky I feel. I mean, getting this internship? It’s always been my dream to work at Forrester. I never thought I’d be working here, let alone be helping Eric Forrester! I mean, what? I’m just really grateful for this opportunity. And especially getting to work with you and getting to know you better.

Finn: Hey, Deacon.

Deacon: Finn. Thanks for coming.

Finn: Uh, yeah. I got your text. What’s– what’s up?

Deacon: It’s about Steffy.

Finn: It’s about Steff– what’s– I’m all ears.

Donna: You know, I can’t believe how free and easy you were with Ridge earlier. I mean, here I am trying to cancel this whole stupid competition. You know, relax with you, enjoy ourselves, and you’re– you’re joking with your son.

Eric: Yeah.

Donna: Telling him that time is running out.

Eric: Uh-huh, uh-huh.

Donna: Eric, what kind of dark humor is that?

Eric: Donna, I’m gonna live ’til I die, all right? And I’m gonna enjoy every moment of it, and I think laughter is a much better way to live all of the years and days that I have left. I’m gonna laugh when– when I get the company back from Ridge, and– and I’m gonna laugh when I prove my relevance to him again. And I can only do this because of you… and how much you love me. I love you, too.

Donna: I love you so much.

Eric: Come here. Come here.

[ Phone chiming ]

Luna: One of your millions of followers?

RJ: Hey, there’s only one I’m interested in talking to right now. It’s receiving and they need a couple signatures, so I’ll be right back, okay? Hey, I, um, I wanna say thank you for what you said to me earlier. It means a lot to me. I hope you know that. I’m happy you’re here at Forrester, too.

[ Phone ringing ]

Luna: It’s not a good time.

Woman: When is it a good time? You haven’t been answering my calls.

Luna: Yeah, because I’m busy, Mom. I’m sure this could’ve been a text.

Mother: You have to leave right away. Come home. You can’t be in Los Angeles. I know what you’re doing.

Luna: I’m– I’m– I’m not doing anything.

Mother: You definitely can’t be at Forrester Creations!

Luna: I’m– I’m not.

Mother: It’s on the company website! “Welcome new interns!” You get why you can’t do this. How my sister will react? With Finn? You know your Aunt Li will let you have it.

Luna: I don’t care, Mom.

Mother: And what about Finn?

Luna: I mean, I told you. I’m following my dreams.

Mother: It is only a matter of time before you’re found out. It’ll all come to a crashing halt.

Luna: I gotta go.

RJ: Hey, told you it wouldn’t take long. What’s– what’s going on? What’s wrong?

Finn: You deserve a man’s whole heart. And he’s out there, Hope. It’s just not Thomas.

Finn: You called me over here about Steffy?

Deacon: Yeah. Uh, I know that she took the kids and she went to Europe.

Finn: Yeah, because of Sheila. I mean, she doesn’t feel safe here with Sheila on the loose.

Deacon: Well, that’s completely understandable given what happened in the alley.

Finn: Look, you have no idea how badly I want my wife and the kids to come back, so if you know something, Deacon, if you know something about Sheila, if you know–

Deacon: I do. I do.

Finn: Then tell me. I– I– I need to get my wife back.

Deacon: Finn, what if I told you that I could help the situation? What if I told you that I could ensure that Sheila would never be an issue, not for you, not for Steffy? I– know, I know. She’s a free woman, but she’s not gonna harm anyone.

Finn: What are you talking about?

Deacon: I think you have a pretty good idea about my checkered past. I’ve made a lot of mistakes, big ones, and I wound up incarcerated. But you know what? I turned my life around. I mean, look at this place look at it. It’s– it’s a huge success.

Finn: That’s great. What’s does that have to do with Steffy?

Sheila: Hi, baby.

Deacon: I told you I wanted to talk to you about your mom.

Finn: What’s going on?

Sheila: What’s it look like, sweetheart?

Finn: No. What? No, what, you and Deacon?

Sheila: I– I have struggled my whole life. I have struggled to fit in and get ahead. To try and find someone that truly cared for me, accepted me. And I– I’ve finally found that someone.

[ Finn scoffing ]

Sheila: Someone who loves me. I’m happy. I am so happy. And I just– I hope that you can be happy for me, too.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

Oh, good. I caught you before you left. What are you doing here? I was about to change. I have an important meeting at DiMera’s today. Is that what you’re wearing? Just get out of here, okay? It doesn’t matter what you’re wearing because I am the one that’s going to be sitting in that meeting. Excuse me.

Well, now that Maggie kicks me out of Titan, the only place for me to be is by my son’s side.

That’s better.

Oh, Maggie. What are you doing here?

Hello? Hi, can I get some service, please? My boyfriend is lying in bed with a gunshot wound. Who do you have to screw around here to get a pillow fluffed?

Phew.

You. Oh, thank God. You’re finally awake. I could kill you for worrying me like that.

You bastard. Mr. DiMera, I hope you don’t mind your butler let me in. Of course not. I take it you’re here with some follow up questions regarding Dimitri’s shooting. Actually, just one. Why did you lie to me?

Like sand through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives.

Well, hello, Leo. Oh, no, no, no, no, no. Don’t you hello, Leo me. I know what you did. Excuse me? Save it! Gwen told me about your diabolical plan to kill my boyfriend.

Oh, I didn’t realize you were still here. Oh! Come back. No, no, no, no, no. Don’t rush off on my accounts.

And you went through with it! Even after Gwen promised me you’d called it off. I did call it off. Oh, please. What, are you going to tell me that you had a change of heart with Dimitri lying in a hospital bed? You talk a good game, Kristen. What about all the horrible things that you have done in your life that you have never actually killed anyone?

Not that I know of. Not personally, anyway. And I really don’t think

you’re going to start today. For some measly money.

I did not shoot Dimitri. I swear to you I didn’t. I don’t believe you. But even if I did, and it wasn’t you or Gwen that tried to kill him, then who the hell was it?

There, there, Gabriella. No need to worry your pretty little head about business. Now that Mother’s here, you can just lie in bed and eat bonbons. Just like the real housewives of Salem. Ah, that rapier alimane wit. Although I hate to disappoint you, Viv. But no matter how much you try to charm us with your humor and your generosity of spirit, you are not going to take my job.

Is that sinking in? And I also wouldn’t get too comfortable in this house either. Gabriela, now that you’re my, uh, New daughter in law. Can I give you a little maternal advice? This ought to be good. Don’t underestimate me. Quaking in my boots. Well, you should be because I’m not leaving this house unless it’s feet first.

That can be arranged. I’m staying here, and if you get in my way, you’ll regret it.

Like I said, my wife and I were upstairs when we heard a gunshot. We came down into this room and found my nephew Dimitri on the floor, bleeding. Then we saw the weapon, the one that I showed you. Yeah, I remember.

We dusted it for prints. We found Dimitri’s. But, you know, what was also interesting is that we also found your sister Kristen’s prints on them, too. Great. Mystery solved. It must have been Kristen who shot him. Except that she didn’t. You see, the prints, they don’t even matter. As it turns out, because you know why?

The bullet that the doctors dug out of Dimitri didn’t match this gun. Dimitri was shot with another gun.

You were shot. Isn’t really much of a surprise though, considering what an absolute dirtbag you are. It’s bound to happen eventually. Excuse me? Oh, come now, don’t tell me that the bullet’s suddenly giving you amnesia.

Okay, fine. I’ll remind you. Shall I?

You lied to me. And you got me to marry you. So that you could inherit the von Leutschner fortune, all the while having an affair with my best friend. And that was a despicable thing to do. Gwen, I am so sorry. Oh. You’re sorry, are you? You’re sorry just isn’t going to cut it.

For this room.

Sorry. I didn’t expect to see you here. Vivian, uh, certainly makes sure to mark her territory, doesn’t she? Oh my god, that woman. I can’t believe she surfaced again. Yeah, it’s always such fun when she does. But now that we know that Victor did, in fact, have a will, I had the distinct pleasure of ousting her out of both the house and the company and taking the job of CEO back.

Right. Well, I’m glad to hear that Vivian’s out of the picture, and I wish I could have been there to watch you kick her to the curb. But… But? Victor… My father, he left me in charge of Titan. What? No. Yes, yes, he did. When he named me in his will. Which I happen to have right here.

You brought Victor’s will? I thought in case I needed proof that I had been named CEO. But you haven’t. Victor didn’t name a CEO in his will.

The other 50 percent of my estate, including controlling interest in Titan, shall go to my son. Controlling interest. So you see, Victor may not have specifically named me CEO in this, but he clearly spelled out his wishes. But Alex, he spelled out his wishes when he was alive. He gave me the job. He could have given you the job, but he didn’t.

I mean, don’t you think if he would have wanted you to be CEO after his death, that he would have mentioned it? Maggie,

I don’t know. Maybe he was in a hurry when he made out the will. Maybe he didn’t think it was necessary because he gave me controlling interest. What else? Which means I am in control. Please, no, don’t fight me on this, Maggie. Really. I have considered my options very carefully. I want the job.

So Dimitri was shot with another gun. Is that how you want to play this, Mr. DiMera? Because if you know anything about what really happened to Dimitri, and you’re trying to hide it from me, believe me, I will get to the bottom of this, and I will not hesitate to lock you up. Jada, Jada, you cannot lock him up.

Okay, he had nothing to do with this. Oh, really? Yes, the person that shot Dimitri von Leuschner was Vivian Alamein, my mother in law.

Lipstick? Wallet? Where’s my gun?

Vivian shot Dimitri? Quit this.

I don’t know who shot Dimitri. And spare me the righteous indignation, will you? You are hardly in a position to judge anyone. Considering that when you were screwing my nephew, you were screwing over your so called best friend. Oh, God. I think that high horse you’re on is giving you the vapors. We both know you don’t care about Gwen, only your share of Dimitri’s inheritance, which you blackmailed him out of, by the way.

So spare me the concerned gal pal act, save it for your bratty little daughter. Although, I don’t even think she’d believe it. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go check on my boyfriend. Oh.

Gwen, darling, where did you find that? Darling, somebody left it out on a tray. Can you believe that? I mean, they really, really ought to be more careful. Because somebody could, um, really get hurt. And what are you planning to do with it? What do I plan to do with it? Um, I don’t know. I had a few ideas. I thought about what to do.

And then I remembered how Leo just wouldn’t shut up about that magic penis of yours.

So I thought, perhaps I could work a little bit of magic of

my own and make it disappear.

Please Gwen, you don’t, you don’t, you don’t. You know, I was thinking, it’s been a while since I’ve seen the old MP myself. Now, I will admit that I was equally infatuated with it, although now I’m not really remembering why. Perhaps… It’ll refresh my memory. Um, Gwen.

There it is. It really is a thing of beauty, isn’t it?

Hmm. I suppose, besides the title and the money, of course, that thing of beauty is why Leo fell absolutely mad for you, although I think you would admit that that is a pretty shallow reason to fall in love with someone.

I wonder how lovable he would find you. If he and Matthew Perry there were no longer friends. Help! Help! Sure, sure. Help! It’ll only take a minute! Gwen,

what the hell are you doing? What the hell are you doing? I am telling the truth! Look, I know, I know you want to protect your mother, but you are my husband! If I have to choose between you and her, I’m gonna choose you every single time. I am not gonna let you go down for your out of control, gun toting, lunatic of a mother.

Okay, that is not fair. My mother may be out of control at times, but she is not gun toting. Uh, has anybody seen my gun?

Alex,

I understand that ever since you found out that your father isn’t Justin, that Victor was your father. Your world has been turned upside down. Yeah, it has. And I’m still dealing with that. But that doesn’t change the fact that Titan is my birthright. Victor told me a while back he thought I had a killer instinct.

He knew that I was cut out for the top job. And I know what I’m entitled to. Is this payback, Alex? Excuse me? I mean, when I fired you. I mean, now that the tables are turned, is this your retribution? No, Maggie, of course not. Yes, it’s true that I didn’t agree with some of the things that you were doing to run this place, but…

That’s not why I’m taking the job. I’m not trying to act out of retaliation. I’m taking the job because Victor… It was my father. And this is clearly what he wanted. She can’t…

You can’t give that to her. It’s my property. Mother, you are not helping your case. What case? Dimitri was threatening my son. He was threatening to kill him. I almost went through that once before. I couldn’t endure it again. Besides, it’s not illegal to shoot someone in self defense. Okay, what my mother is trying to tell you, in her own inimitable way, is the truth.

Yes, Dimitri was trying to kill me, and Gabby. And he likely would have, and we wouldn’t be standing here right now had my mother not intervened. And that is why I had a hard time turning her in. And we also want to press charges against Amitri von Bleichner. Yes, definitely. You’re willing to testify this?

Absolutely. Yes, we both will. We can corroborate each other’s story. Okay, well this might mitigate your attempted murder charge. However, you lied to the police, and possessing a gun is in violation of your parole. So, I will be speaking to your parole

officer.

John, listen to me. I saw her with my own eyes. Susan is alive. No, no, no. I know we’d all been meant to believe otherwise, but… Uh, yeah. I’ve got to go. Kate just walked in. I’ll get back to you. Bye. Hey, sorry to barge in like this. Your assistant said you were on a break, though. No, that’s quite all right. Um, did you hear about Susan?

Yeah, yeah, I did. She’s alive. That’s good for her. Um, I need to talk about Phillip. Is he alright? He’s fine. I’m not. He’s leaving town. Who’s Chloe Lin?

Wait a minute! Gwen! Gwen! Put down the scalpel! Look, I am sorry that you feel betrayed, but this is insane. I can’t let you hurt him.

This is gonna hurt you a lot more than it’s gonna hurt him. No, it’s gonna hurt us both. I mean, hurt us, it’s gonna destroy us. And it’s going to destroy you. You wouldn’t be able to live with yourself if you did what you’re about to do.

Gwenny, you are not a violent person.

I know that you have had a hard life. And like me, you have gone to extremes at times to get what you thought you needed or to get revenge against people who have hurt you. But this, this is cruel, and this is out of character for you. Because you are a kind and decent person. And looking at you now, about to inflict this kind of pain on someone?

About to ruin someone’s life in the most horrific way? Even that look in your eyes, Gwenny.

It’s like you’re not the person I know and love. It is breaking my heart. You have no heart. You know that isn’t true.

I am not trying to make excuses, Gwenny. I’m not trying to make excuses.

And I am miserable. A lot of the time. And people don’t know that because I use humor. To cover up how much I hate myself. You’re just trying to you. No, I’m trying to make you realize that I never meant to hurt you. Ever. It’s my desperate need for love that caused me to betray you. And you want to get back at somebody?

Get back at me. Because I hurt you more than Dimitri did. You got that right.

You were supposed to be my, my best friend.

And Dimitri, well, yes, I’m used to romances falling apart, but you, you…

We were supposed to be forever. I thought we were going to grow old together. I thought we were gonna comfort each other, I thought we were gonna make each other love. I thought so too.

And then I did what I always do. I don’t know if this is therapy speak, but I sabotaged myself. Because I felt like I had finally found love. Found a way to be happy. And that made me horribly selfish. So I sabotaged the only friendship that has ever meant anything to me.

I wish we had been honest with you from the start.

I guess I was just hoping, stupidly, so stupidly, that there was just some way we could all get what we wanted out of this.

I know that words are cheap, but I love you, Gwen. You have added so much to my miserable life. And maybe I didn’t tell you enough, maybe I never said it at all, but I have always felt so lucky to have you as a friend. To have you as an ally. And I would be willing to do whatever I had to do to make it up for you.

Please, please, tell me that you are willing to let me try.

Please.

I hope you’re rotten hell, both of you.

Alex, when I learned that you were Victor’s son, as upsetting as it was to you and Justin, it honestly did warm my heart. Because I thought, now that Victor is gone, I can be there for you. Because I, I know that’s what he, he would want.

Is there a point to this or the point? The point is, you’re important to me, Alex. You always have been, but now seeing my husband and you, it makes me feel even closer to you. But I also feel, uh, I believe that if he would have wanted you to be CEO, he would have made you CEO. Maybe he wants the two of us to work together.

Maybe he wanted us to, to be co CEOs. Yeah, I, I just don’t, I don’t see that working out very well, to be honest with you, Maggie. I mean, we don’t see eye to eye on the way we should run this business. So, you’d rather simply take my job? No, no, and that’s… I heard… Like I said, I don’t see it that way, but obviously you do, so I’m telling you right now, if you’re not willing to just give up, willingly, I have no other choice but to just bring it in front of the board, because with controlling interests, all I have to do to get them to remove you Jada

was accusing you! I told you, it’s either her or you! You. Oh, so now she gets charged with attempted murder. You hurt Jada? That’s off the table! Oh ho ho ho! So now it’s only that I was lying to the police and violating my parole. Lucky me! Well, you brought it on yourself, lady! Are you just gonna stand there and let this wife of yours throw your mother under the bus?

Hey, Mother, I’m afraid there’s nothing we can do about it now. Jada knows you violated your parole, and if she acts on what she found out here today, the U. S. Marshals are gonna be knocking down that door any second. Well, I don’t suppose there’s anything I can do other than leave town. Hallelujah!

Gwen, I got your message. Now, I know I gave you every reason to believe it was me, but I promise you I did not shoot Dimitri. Then who the hell did? Vivian Allemane. What? Why would Vivian shoot Dimitri? Apparently she walked in just as Dimitri was about to kill Stephan and Gabby. I’m here to arrest your husband.

Well, that’s the best news I’ve heard all day.

Calling a board meeting won’t be necessary. I’ll go. But I must say, I’m very disappointed. That I didn’t get through to you at all. I knew you were a womanizer. And that you tended to be grandiose. And somewhat full of yourself. But I didn’t think that you were so callous that you wouldn’t respond to what I said, which came from my heart about seeing Victor and you, how it moved me.

Look, Maggie, I’m not telling you that there’s no role for you at Titan. I’m going to need capable people. Yes, you will. But you’re right. Something tells me that you and I teaming up would work out about as well as it did the last time.

If you’ll excuse me, I need to read your husband his rights. Huh. Well, Dimitri’s

finally getting what’s coming to him. Yeah, well, he’s not the only one. Don’t you see what this means? We are going to get what’s coming to us, too. What are you talking about? Oh please, do I really need to spell it out to you? Apparently. Okay, okay, so listen. Dimitri is going off to Statesville. And someone is going to get the Von Leuschner fortune.

Wait. Gwen didn’t hurt you, did she? She came a little close for comfort. But, um, She didn’t draw any blood. How did this happen? Well, I had my gun trained on Gabby and Stephan. Then I heard a shot and felt a searing pain in my back. Wait a minute. Hm? You had a gun on Gabby and Stephan? You promised me you weren’t gonna do that.

I know, I know, and I meant it. After you left the mansion, I was ready to hand over the DiMera shares, but just before I was about to do it, Kristen walked in and pulled a gun on me. Kristen did this? No, no, no, she didn’t do this. Then who was it? Stefan’s mother. Vivian? I managed to get the gun away from Kristen.

I had it in my hand. Then Gabby and Stefan walked in acting all cocky. So you aimed the gun at them? It was an impulse move. And then Vivian walked in and shot me. Wait, if she shot you in the back, how did you know it was her? I guess I came to for a little while after that. Can you please focus on the fact that I nearly just…

I’m trying not to focus on that part.

But the important thing is that you are alive and now that the truth is out. We have nothing to worry about. Ahem.

I think it’s time the new Mrs. von Leuschner needs to pay her in laws a visit. Explain how poor, deranged Dimitri is going off to prison. Therefore, his new wife is entitled to his fortune.

You really think that would work? Well, why not? You’re still married to him, aren’t you? And you and Dimitri, you’ve fulfilled the conditions of the carter cell. Why shouldn’t they pay you? I’m not sure the von Leuschens would see it that way. Well then, you’ll have to persuade them. May take a little time.

And, uh, maybe a little fancy footwork. True, and I have always been good at thinking on my feet.

Yeah, I mean, honestly, there’s not really anything left keeping me here in Salem. I have the Spectator, of course, but that’s all tangled up with Xander, and honestly, that’s not a road that I want to go down again.

The only friend that I had was Leo, and, well, you

know how that turned out. Yeah, well, you always got me. Thanks, I think.

I don’t know, ever since I arrived here in Salem, it’s just been one bloody debacle after the other.

Maybe it’s time that I see what else is out there for me.

Perhaps a sizable inheritance.

Stefan, my dear boy, I would never leave you, but I have no choice. There you go. I think I’ll go back to Amania. It’s our home. It don’t worry about me. Whatever life throws in Vivian Al Lane’s way,

I will always rise like a phoenix. From the ashes.

So. Chloe and Philip are back together. No, I mean, I hope not. I mean Marlena, he got the help that he needed. He really did and he was doing so well, but it’s his obsession with Chloe that made him lose his mind in the first place. So. I mean, what if that happens again?

Philip is a grown man. And, and, Chloe must have believed that he’s changed or she never would have agreed to go to New York with him.

I suppose so. Okay, putting all of that aside. Honestly, I was really hoping that Philip was going to stay in Salem. Especially now, you know, and I suppose that was really, really silly of me to think that you know that he would want to be closer with me now because of losing his father.

Oh,

uncle Vic, I,

dad,

I really hope you’re not mad about Maggie.

But I don’t think you would have dangled this opportunity in front of me if you didn’t want me to grab the brass ring.

Detective Hunter, what can we do for you? Well, Mr. Stark, for once, this doesn’t concern you. Dimitri von Leuschner, you are under arrest for attempted murder.

Vivian’s gone. Thought she’d be saying goodbye to you for at least another hour. Honey, you’re really sad to see her go. You can’t tell me you were happy living with her in this house. It wouldn’t have been forever.

I’m pleased that was with the, the law on her tail. Look, I know she’s impossible. She’s my mother, and I feel bad for her. Yeah, that’s because you have a good heart. But that woman… Your mother? Misery follows her wherever she goes. Right. You may not see it right now, but trust me, I did you a huge favor.

Welcome to Global Airlines. You only travel in style. Better be careful. One never knows who one’s going to run into.

There’s my flight, it’s already boarding. Flight SK84 from Los Angeles has arrived at gate A57. Well, Salem.

Hasn’t always been fun, has it? Certainly been interesting.

There are things about you that I have loved. There’s also a lot of things I’ve hated.

I suppose you could say the same thing about me, though.

I promise you, it might be goodbye for now. You haven’t seen the last of this 16 from Geneva landed at number 8. Teresa! Teresa, would you hurry up already, please? Please proceed to baggage claims belt 2. Oh

you jets, I’m coming.

Transcript provided by Suzanne

Jack: Wow. You are a vision. How did I get so lucky?

Diane: You look at me like that and I start to blush. Wow, you’ve really outdone yourself, I can’t– I can’t wait to see what’s next.

Jill: Yeah, it’s just fabulous.

Mamie: Oh, it is. Look, I have an opportunity to be a strong presence in the life of my family again. Which is what I was just about to tell them when you flew in here.

Lily: Jill, I know that you two haven’t always gotten along, but we have missed aunt mamie so much.

Nate: It has been away too long since we’ve had her here. Video chats aren’t enough.

Mamie: Oh, my honeys. I’m really so happy to be able to connect with you too, being able to see you here, in person. Oh, come on, jill. Life is so fragile. I want to be with my family. I want to cheer them on, wanna watch them grow. We have to make up for the lost time, yeah?

[ All laughs ]

Jill: This is such a crock. There is something else going on underneath all this and I want to know what the hell it is.

Jill: Let’s be very clear here, mamie. There was no opportunity for you to invest in chancellor-winters. We weren’t looking for investors, you know. We were very happy as we are, right, devon, lily? Am I missing something here? Did we invite anyone in?

Devon: No, we did not.

Jill: So, it seems that this was a back alley deal. Something we should have been made aware of beforehand. And victor, god love victor. He was a silent, minority partner, who to my knowledge, had no desire at all to sell his stake to others and he certainly didn’t need the cash, so why? Why would he put up his stake for grabs?

[ Mamie chuckles ] Did you have any involvement in this?

Victoria: What? No. Absolutely not, I didn’t know until recently that my father was even interested in chancellor-winters. But that transaction wasn’t under my purview.

Abby: Me? No, no, no. I mean, everyone knows that I am totally out of the loop with everything happening at newman or any decision that my dad makes. It’s better that way, I think it makes life easier most of the time.

Jill: So why, mamie? Why all the secrecy, huh? Why the hand grenade disguised as a happy surprise?

Mamie: Oh, jill, you really love making something out of nothing. Like I made some kind of back alley deal.

Lily: Well, aunt mamie, you kind of have to admit, it was out of the blue. I mean, you were just here for the bicentennial gala. Why didn’t you tell us then that you had an interest in chancellor-winters or even right after that?

Mamie: Oh, sweetheart, I love it when you, all of you call me aunt mamie. I really miss being a regular part of your lives. I mean, isn’t that enough right there to explain all of this?

Devon: Sure, but you didn’t have to invest in the company to spend more time with us.

Nate: No one’s upset, aunt mamie. We’re all just surprised, but I think things are coming out a bit harsher than anyone means, right? It’s a loving gesture, you wanting to make the family close again. I think we can all appreciate that. We’ve been through a lot together this past year.

Devon: Yeah, we certainly have, and I can definitely appreciate you wanting to get the family together like this, but you need to know that he is not a part of chancellor-winters. He speaks for himself. He doesn’t speak for me and lily.

Lily: Yeah, devon is right. Because of nate, we are very wary of family making secret moves when it comes to the company.

Mamie: And that is exactly why I’m here. I want to make sure that we can put all of this animosity behind us. That is what drucilla and neil would want too. Life is just so short and it’s really precious. You know, love and family matter above all else. So, that’s why I’m here. Perhaps, I can help you to remember that.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year

Announcer: Additional sponsorship provided by…

Diane: Thank you for this. This special moment, just the two of us.

Jack: I asked abby if I could pay to close the place tonight for a private party. I waited ’til she said yes before I told her it was a private party for two. The place is all ours.

Diane: It’s amazing. You’re amazing.

[ Soft jazz music playing ]

Jack: May I have this dance?

Diane: I would love to dance with you. I can’t believe I’m– I’m a little nervous about tomorrow.

Jack: Nervous? Really?

Diane: Yeah, I know it’s just the icing on the wedding cake, but still, I’ve got pre-wedding nerves even though we’ve been married months.

Jack: You know what? I think that’s a good thing.

Diane: Yeah.

Jack: Anticipation and nervousness and eagerness. I mean, I think it’s a great thing after everything we’ve been through.

Diane: Yeah.

Jack: And we have been through a lot, you and I.

Diane: Mm, I think back to those days when my life was so empty, and now, my days have purpose. But loving you feels like the most natural thing in the world, but I don’t know if I’ll ever get used to feeling so lucky. I mean, for– for so long, I– I don’t know, I felt like I didn’t deserve happiness. And now, this.

Jack: And now this.

Diane: And now this.

Jack: So, I’ve been thinking, what if we took it a step farther. What if we found someone to officiate our marriage at the beginning of the celebration? We could say our vows all over again.

Diane: Ah, jack, we don’t need to do that.

Jack: In front of our family and friends. I want them to know how committed we are. I want them to know this is for keeps.

Diane: Yeah, but the people who don’t support us might never be convinced.

Jack: So, you’re turning me down?

Diane: Never.

Jack: Okay. We will seize the day. We will share our love with everyone that’s gathered there.

Diane: All right. I’m on board, let’s do it.

[ Jack chuckles ]

Mamie: We have both grown and moved on since our time together at the abbott house. I think that john and mrs. Chancellor and your son, billy, would want us to have peace, not conflict. What do you think, victoria?

Victoria: Well, I– I know that the element of surprise might be unsettling, but ultimately, you are a part of the winters family and this is chancellor-winters.

Jill: Forgive me, victoria, but you have no skin in this game and I have a lifetime.

Mamie: And you want to spend the rest of what we have of our lifetimes bickering?

Jill: You never miss an opportunity to throw my words back at me. Some things never change.

Mamie: Some things never do. Like you thinking that your feelings are the only ones that count. Well, they aren’T.

[ Mamie sighs ] When I was here a few months back, I could see that lily and devon’s relationship had frayed. What do I do, do I lean in, do I help them, do I become the elder that they need to help them build the family legacy? Do what john would do.

Jill: Why do you keep bringing john into this? Oh, I get it. She does that to make me out to be the shrew who didn’t deserve him. This is not about john. It’s not about me, and spare me your heartfelt explanations. Start telling the truth, mamie, for god’s sake. Why? Why did you take over victor’s investment in chancellor-winters?

Mamie: Early on, victor told me about the threat of the company going public. I didn’t want to see that happen, particularly not when the family was so disconnected.

Lily: Well, we definitely appreciate that, but this recent development has caught us off guard.

Mamie: Whether I approached victor or he approached me, it doesn’t really matter.

Jill: The hell it doesn’T. You went to him. That means you were playing an angle. That means you have a goal in mind.

Mamie: And what goal would that be?

Jill: I have no idea. Maybe just to piss me off. Okay, let’s get down to brass tacks, okay? How much is it gonna take to buy you out?

[ Mamie chuckles ] Wowwww… boring. With over 40 delicious flavors, cirkul starts a party for your taste buds. No sugar, no calories, and no artificial flavors. Cirkul. It’s your water, your way. Now with even more flavors. Available at walmart or drinkcirkul.Com.

Mamie: My stake is not for sale, jill. It’s a sound investment.

Jill: Really? So, there’s no number that you would accept?

Mamie: No, actually, there isn’T. I have faith that lily and devon can take things to the next level at chancellor-winters.

Jill: Oh, well, I do too. We’re in agreement on that.

Mamie: I just want to further support their efforts and if that includes you, well then, so be it.

Jill: Wait a minute. Includes me? Includes me? I am the chancellor in chancellor-winters.

Mamie: Can we please stop talking about business tonight?

Abby: Yes, please. I am all for that.

Mamie: This evening is supposed to be a lovely reunion in a room that has meaning for all of us.

Lily: I agree. I think that dad would want us to enjoy being together and not let business get in the way.

Mamie: Amen, so let’s raise a glass and toast. To family, friends, and togetherness.

Nate: Hear, hear. Cheers.

Mamie: Thank you, nate.

Devon: Here’s the family.

Abby: Family.

Mamie: Jill, you are welcome to stay for the festivities, but you have got to stop going on about my intentions.

Lily: Jill, please stay. We have so much to be thankful for.

Jill: Wow, none of you really knows what’s going on here, do you?

Victoria: Uh, well, it certainly is a room full of big personalities.

Devon: And regardless, I am happy that we’re still a private company and we don’t have to answer to wall street or shareholders.

Lily: I’m just happy that we can all be together in person, especially with everything going on.

Jill: You know, I will stay because I have a very strong feeling that we’ve only heard part of the story.

[ Mamie sighs, laughs ]

Diane: I could stay like this all night.

Jack: Yeah?

Diane: Yeah.

Jack: We have to eat sometime and I did arrange for a pretty special, uh, pre-celebration dinner.

Diane: Hm. You take such good care of me, jack abbott.

Jack: You are my greatest source of joy.

Diane: To our love and to our family. So, do you think kyle will stand up with you tomorrow as your best man? He didn’t even bother to show up at our civil ceremony.

Jack: Oh, I think he was blindsided when we asked him on our way to the courthouse.

Diane: Well, tomorrow will be a surprise too, but I– I do want him next to you.

Jack: Well, I think he struggled with the concept then. Life was a little more complicated in those days.

Diane: Yeah, he was heartbroken about summer.

Jack: And he blamed me for his ouster from marchetti.

Diane: Well, you and I are making up for some past hurts. Do you think we can do the same with kyle?

Jack: Are we talking about healing his heart or are we talking about giving him back his old job?

Diane: We can’t heal his heart.

Jack: It’s not that easy, sweetheart. I can’t just cut billy loose to put kyle in his place. It would be mending one relationship by destroying another.

Looking for a bladder leak pad

that keeps you dry?

Diane: I’m not asking you to choose between our son and your brother.

Jack: I know that was never your intention, but it is kind of the reality of the situation. Look, I love our son. I want to work with him. I want him involved in every abbott family enterprise as a third-generation abbott. But billy is also part of that abbott family legacy and it would be a big mistake to cut him loose for personal reasons right now.

Diane: But is it really just personal? Billy has done some questionable things in the past behind your back, things that have compromised the integrity of jabot and the family as a whole.

Jack: He has admitted to us that he was tempted by tucker’s offer that he run jabot on his own. But he didn’t give in. He did not get drawn into that. He held firm. Look, he’s made mistakes in the past, no question about it, but in the here and now, he is not to blame.

Diane: I know you’re loyal to your brother, but how strong is that loyalty to you? You just said that he considered looking out for his own best interests.

Jack: I’m not saying it wasn’t a possibility. I’m saying he didn’t cross that line.

[ Diane sighs ] Hey… this isn’t easy for me. I have to think this through.

Diane: How so?

Jack: Well, if I cut billy loose right now, there are serious ramifications. Not just inside the family or inside jabot, but from the outside world. The appearance of upheaval in the c-suite, the appearance that there is unsteady leadership. Honey, I have worked very hard on my relationship with billy. I think this has been good for us as brothers, good for billy and his self-image and good for his stability.

Diane: What do you mean “his stability?”

Jack: When billy feels isolated and abandoned, he goes to some pretty dark places.

Diane: Is he really that fragile?

Jack: No, not anymore. But I don’t want him thinking I lost faith in him.

Diane: But what about how much our son values your faith in him? You know how much your approval means to kyle?

Jack: I do. It’s a very delicate balance. And I use all of the values and principles that my father instilled in all of us to keep the abbott family legacy alive. Jabot has already been through a lot. We’ve had too many captains steering the jabot ship, not just dad and me, but jill and victor and…

Diane: Jill. [ Laughs ] She’s had a colorful past with the family and jabot.

Jack: And to be sure. And with mamie back in town, that past is all too present.

Diane: Mm-hmm. The two of them do have history.

Jack: Whatever issues the two of them had, well, most of them were settled years ago. I just pray they are able to let go of things now. How– how did– how did this happen? How– how did we make this pivot away from talking about us?

Diane: Yeah.

Jack: Our future together, our love. If our love and commitment are solid, we can conquer anything. I truly believe that. Let’s drink to that.

Jill: Hey.

Devon: Hm?

Jill: What do you two make of this mamie thing? And I promise you, I promise you, if you knew her like I knew her, you would be suspicious too.

Devon: Well, that’s the thing, jill, is we don’t really know her. Or I don’t know her as well as you do. So, it’s hard for me to have an opinion. I just don’t understand why she’s been so damn secretive.

Lily: Look, I get where you’re both coming from, but let’s not make tonight about that. I mean, we’re here, together, in person. The company is strong, it’s growing. Let’s just focus on that.

Devon: That’s fine with me. As long as we’re not at risk of an ipl, then I’m good.

Jill: But there are other issues though.

Lily: Jill, can you please try? Please? Let mamie feel like she’s a part of something bigger with her family and not a threat. I mean, she’s successful, she’s family and she’s not backing down. So, let’s just welcome her.

Jill: Okay, lily, but devon is right. You do not know the history, but okay. All right. I will just hold my tongue unless she comes after me. And then, you know–

Lily: I know. We know. We know.

Mamie: Victoria, I’m pleased to see that you and nate are working together. That’s a brilliant mind you have sitting next to you.

Nate: Oh, mamie. [ Laughs ]

Victoria: Oh, nate is a very impressive man.

Mamie: Mm-hmm. Growing up to follow in medicine like his mother and then branching out to start a path of his own. It takes a lot of grit. I’m proud of you.

Nate: [ Chuckles ] Thank you. That means a lot coming from you.

Mamie: And you may not be his son… but there’s a lot of neil that I see in you.

Victoria: Well, there is absolutely no question that his presence was felt here today.

Nate: That is for sure.

Victoria: Do you know my father adored neil? He was a fixture at the ranch and at newman enterprises and I– I have no doubt that he is very proud of your success at the company.

[ Phone ringing ]

[ Sighs ] I have to take this. Excuse me.

[ Nate sighs ]

Mamie: Well, I can see now that there’s more than a working relationship with your boss. It’s more than you told me when we had our last phone chat.

Nate: Okay, you can stop now, aunt mamie.

Mamie: Why would I do that?

Nate: [ Laughs ] Because I’m a grown man.

Abby: You know what? Um, I am gonna go so the two of you can chat.

Mamie: So, whatever happened to that doctor lady that I– you know, I got really good vibes from that young lady.

Nate: It didn’t work out.

Mamie: Uh-huh. And why didn’t it work out?

Nate: We weren’t growing in the same direction.

Mamie: Oh, and so– but you were growing in the direction of victoria.

Nate: Careful, aunt mamie.

Mamie: Uh-huh. And did this new direction happen after you broke up or was victoria the reason? What was that doctor’s name?

Nate: Elena.

Mamie: Was victoria the reason why you and elena parted ways? Even when I was with the people I love,

Announcer: The young and the restless will continue.

Nate: How victoria and i got involved is a story for another day, maybe, if you just listen and don’t pass judgment.

Mamie: Oh, you ask so much of me.

[ Nate laughs ]

Nate: It really is so good to have you back in genoa city. As you know, I don’t get to see my mom very often, so this is significant and meaningful to me, and all of us here.

Mamie: Mm. I think I hear a but coming on.

Nate: You always had great intuition. I do remember that as a kid.

Mamie: Thank you.

Nate: But yes, please try your best not to pry into our personal lives or cast judgment on any of us. Do you think you can stop yourself from crossing that boundary?

Mamie: Well, I apologize if I came off that way. I certainly don’t want to be seen or perceived of as a busybody. I just wanted to make sure that all of you are happy.

Nate: Well, I can only speak for myself, but I haven’t been this happy in a very long time.

Mamie: Oh, well, then I’m thrilled.

[ Nate chuckles ]

Devon: Hey.

Abby: Hey.

Devon: Sorry if I made you feel like I’ve abandoned you.

Abby: Ah, don’t be silly. This is a huge deal for your family. I know all about the dynamics and the drama.

Devon: Oh, thank you. I just still don’t understand why aunt mamie had to be so secretive about everything.

Abby: Hm. That’s fair.

Devon: It’s just like, especially if she just wanted to get the family together, why didn’t she call us? Tell us?

Abby: Oh, maybe she just wanted it to be a surprise. Is that so hard to believe? Does there have to be an ulterior motive?

Devon: Well, no, it doesn’T. But she could have just said, “hey, this is what I’m gonna do. What do you guys think?”

Abby: I think mamie is doing that tonight here. In her own way.

Jill: Mamie, I’ve really gotta hand it to you. You’ve come a long way from the abbott house.

Mamie: Um, well, thank you for the compliment. Although, I have a feeling that a sucker punch is coming.

Jill: No, not this evening. I mean, I know I’m right. I know you’re up to something because my radar has served me very well over the years, but I’ve decided to put my reservations aside and offer you congratulations.

Mamie: Well, now, that’s rather unheard of.

Jill: I know, but you have come a long way. I mean, you’ve managed to pull this whole thing off without any of us seeing it coming. And that takes some real smarts.

Mamie: I’ve always been smart and capable, jill. You just never liked me very much and so you couldn’t see it or accept it.

Jill: That is probably true.

[ Both laughing ] So, I don’t suppose it’s worth it if I ask you, just what is it you ultimately want?

Mamie: Never show your hand, jill, until it’s time. Daniel: Considering the fireworks that could have gone off, it sounds like it was actually a pretty peaceful and enjoyable evening.

Lily: Yeah. I mean, I’m really happy that aunt mamie found this new phase in her life and that her investments are doing well. I’m just– I’m so curious as to what led her here.

Daniel: Are you worried that jill’s right? That mamie has a hidden agenda?

Lily: I don’t want to be worried. [ Chuckles ]

Daniel: You know, as an outsider, it seems like jill’s making a bigger deal of this than it is.

Lily: Well, I mean, the mamie-jill rivalry goes pretty far back and I’m in the middle because mamie’s my family but I work for jill.

Daniel: But you don’t think there’s some secret hostile takeover going on, right? It– it’s a minor financial investment, which seems like that’s what mamie does these days.

Lily: Yeah. I don’t know. I guess so.

Daniel: Hey, come here.

Lily: Oh.

Daniel: Yeah. [ Sighs ] Oh, gosh, that feels nice. Mm. It’s my specialty.

[ Lily chuckles ]

Lily: Well, one of them.

Daniel: Yeah? What’s the other one? Oh.

Victoria: Well, that was– that was quite the family gathering.

Nate: And you took it all in stride. Thank you for that.

Victoria: You’re welcome. I’m used to family drama. All kinds.

[ Nate clears throat ]

Nate: I’m worried jill and aunt mamie aren’t gonna be able to find common ground. And that aunt mamie seems intent on sticking around and getting involved.

Victoria: Yeah. You know, her connecting with my dad was curious but… I’m more concerned about you.

Nate: Me? [ Laughs ] Why? I have no horse in that race. If aunt mamie and jill want to duke it out, I can’t stop them.

Victoria: I mean– I mean, were you tempted by mamie’s suggestion that you return to chancellor-winters?

Nate: Not for a second. First, I am certain I am right where I belong.

Victoria: Well, that’s good to hear.

Nate: Second, we both know devon and lily would never agree to that. And even if they did, I’m sure it would be as miserable as the last time, maybe even worse.

Victoria: Some things heal with time and some don’T.

Nate: Why? Are you trying to get rid of me?

Victoria: Not a chance, sir.

[ Diane sighs ]

Diane: Thank you for a delicious dinner and a wonderful evening.

Jack: It was my absolute pleasure.

Diane: It was magical.

Jack: Well, I would expect nothing less on the last night before we renew our vows as mr. And mrs. Jack abbott in front of all our family and friends.

Diane: I can’t wait for our next chapter.

Jack: Together we can handle anything, whether it’s billy’s unpredictability or kyle’s confused defiance or tucker’s endless onslaught. We can handle anything together, as a team.

Diane: We are quite the force of nature together, aren’t we?

Jack: And I could never love anyone as much as I love you right now. Mm.

[ Diane chuckles ] ( )

Jill: Oh, what a night.

Devon: I know. Feels good to be home.

Abby: Uh, absolutely. I am gonna go check on dominic.

Jill: Abby, I was so glad to be able to spend time with you today. And how is your mom doing? I mean, I heard what happened with tucker. Not that we were surprised.

Abby: Yeah, we were and we weren’T.

Jill: I guess. Anyway, give her my best.

Abby: Thank you.

Jill: And kiss dominic for me, okay?

Abby: Will do.

Jill: Boy, I’m really glad that you and abby are settling in here. I’m very relieved that this home is in such good hands. Thank you.

Devon: Uh-huh. Well, thank you for saying that. It means a lot to hear you say that. And I’m just happy that dominic gets to grow up in such a cool place like this.

Jill: I know. There she is. Whenever I’m here, oh, god, do I feel her presence. I hear that voice echoing in the halls. I spent a lot of my youth here, you know. The difficult times and love and laughter and quite a few fights. One of them involving a cake.

[ Devon laughs ]

Devon: What’s really on your mind, jill?

Jill: Well, you think you’re pretty perceptive, don’t you?

[ Devon clears throat ] It’s just that when seeing mamie it– it kind of opened a lot of chapters from old wounds, I guess you’d say with the abbots, you know. And things that you think have gone away, but they haven’T.

Devon: Well, so much of your family and your career is centered around the abbotts.

Jill: Yeah. And I had some pretty wonderful memories of john, I’ll tell you that. But not so much mamie. No offense to the extended winters family.

Devon: None taken at all.

Jill: Perhaps you can understand my skepticism about her, even if you don’t agree with it.

Devon: Of course, I can. Yeah.

Jill: So, would you give me your honest take on this whole mamie thing?

Devon: Oh, my honest take was that I was surprised. Surprised just like you were. And like I told abby, I wish that she would have said something beforehand instead of making this a big mystery game.

Jill: Mm-hmm.

Devon: But, you know, again, I don’t know her very well, so maybe she gets a kick out of stuff like this.

Jill: Oh, she got a kick out of that today, I’ll tell you that. And how could there not be an ulterior motive with her?

Devon: I don’t know. But honestly, you know her a lot better than me.

Jill: Oh, I sure do. And so I know that there is a surprise behind the surprise.

[ Mamie sighs ]

[ Mamie laughs ] Oh. Ah. Oh. Ah. Cheers to me and a perfect evening.

[ Mamie chuckles ] Mm.

[ Phone ringing ] Hello. Yeah. Yeah, I just got back to my suite.

[ Laughs ] Well, it went off without a hitch. They don’t have a clue. But they’re all as curious as hell. [ Laughs ] Yeah, it just went perfect. [ Laughs ]
