Days of Our Lives Update

Maggie is working at the Titan office as Alex arrives and apologizes for being late. Maggie questions if he doesn’t even have an excuse. Alex admits that he was with Gwen. Maggie stops him and complains that he has the nerve to tell her that he couldn’t make it to work because he was having a booty call with Gwen. Alex clarifies that he was telling her that he was telling Gwen that their booty calls are over.

Leo tells Gwen that he hates seeing her look so glum and he wants to be there for her. Leo relates that he would feel the same if Alex cut him off too. Gwen argues that is not what she’s upset about. Leo says he didn’t want to bring that up and knows she’s obsessing over Xander. Gwen asks if he’s sure that Xander and Chloe are really moving in together. Leo wishes it wasn’t so, but he saw it with his own eyes and they actually got the apartment. Leo adds that before they decided on it, Brady showed up to the same apartment and he was hellbent on talking Chloe out of it.

Brady tells Chloe that he knows things have been challenging for them but questions what kind of friendship she could have with Xander. Brady brings up all the enemies that Xander has made, including Chloe at one point, and doesn’t understand why she would want to make a home with him. Chloe admits that she’s lonely and Xander is good company. Brady argues that Xander is moving in with her and footing the bill because he’s expecting something to happen between them. Brady warns Chloe not to make this mistake that they both know she will regret.

Xander walks down the hall at his motel and sees Colin going back to his room. Xander stops and comments that he thought that was Talia’s room.

At the Bakery, Talia kisses Chanel until Chanel pulls away and questions why she did that. Talia thinks back to Colin instructing her to break Chanel’s heart. Chanel asks Talia again why she kissed her.

Jada goes to Rafe’s office and says she just reviewed Paulina’s statement with her. Rafe asks if she got something. Jada says maybe as it turns out that Sloan did have an opportunity to get Paulina’s keys, but she’s not the only one as it turns out that Talia had the same opportunity. Rafe questions Jada really thinking her sister had something to do with this. Jada says she’s just gathering all the facts and not rushing to judgment. Jada goes over that Talia ran in to Paulina in the town square. Rafe talks about how Sloan has made it clear that she is continuing her vendetta against Paulina and Chanel. Rafe adds that Sloan also had motive to trash Paulina’s office while Talia did not. Rafe feels Talia has no reason whatsoever to want to hurt Paulina and that she works for Chanel and they get along great.

Talia apologizes and guesses she was just caught in the moment. Chanel says she wasn’t asking for an apology. Talia says that Chanel has been upset with everything going on and she doesn’t want to take advantage of that. Chanel says it’s okay and just kind of surprised her as she didn’t’ even know Talia was in to girls. Talia says she’s not or at least she wasn’t until now. Talia admits she’s only dated guys before and talks about physical attraction. Talia says there is no denying there’s chemistry between them. Talia claims it wasn’t pre-meditated and that Chanel was in her arms and that kissing her just felt like it was supposed to happen. Chanel admits that it felt right to her too. Talia brings up that Chanel just broke up with her girlfriend so maybe it’s too soon to do something with her, but Chanel says maybe it isn’t.

Colin claims to Xander that he doesn’t know Talia so he must have the wrong room. Xander recalls he definitely seeing Talia since he lives down the hall and he bumped in to her recently, coming out of that room.

Chloe appreciates Brady’s concern but says if moving in with Xander is a mistake then it’s her mistake to make. Brady argues that it affects him too because he loves her. Chloe cries that she loves him too, but she thinks it’s time for them to admit that in their case, love is not enough. Brady questions what she is saying. Chloe responds that they are over. Brady argues that she doesn’t mean that. Chloe argues that they both know they’ve been done for awhile and have just been in denial about it. Chloe talks about Rachel hating her and Brady having to put her feelings first. Chloe doesn’t blame him for that as she’s a mom too and understands prioritizing the child. Brady argues that Rachel is a kid and won’t always feel this way. Brady says Rachel will realize that Chloe makes him happy. Chloe feels it won’t matter since Rachel also sees her as the person who makes her mother miserable. Chloe talks about Kristen making Rachel believe that she is the only thing standing in the way of them being a happy family. Brady questions letting Kristen win. Chloe says nobody wins in this since Kristen got Rachel to hate her, but Kristen didn’t get Brady to fall back in love with her. Chloe adds that Rachel got her away from Brady but she didn’t get her parents back together. Chloe talks about Brady having hope and joy but watching that get eaten away because he can’t stand seeing his daughter suffer. Chloe feels indirectly responsible for that pain and says she can’t in good conscience continue with that.

Gwen can’t believe Xander and Chloe are moving in together. Gwen calls Chloe boring and humorless with no spark. Gwen thought Chloe hated Xander because he left her with a Mexican drug lord. Gwen argues that the sudden 180 makes no sense. Gwen continues to complain about Chloe and questions why everything is such a struggle. Gwen screams in to a pillow as Leo encourages her to let it all out. Leo points out that it is a two bedroom apartment which Gwen acknowledges is a good thing. Leo then notes the second bedroom could be an office or a gym which makes Gwen scream again. Leo encourages they get tequila and ice cream to get through this but Gwen stops him from ordering room service.

Colin tells Xander that he doesn’t know what he thinks he saw, but this is his room and he’s sure he would notice if some random girl came in and out of it. Xander is sure it’s the room that he saw Talia come out of. Colin questions if he’s the hotel detective.

Rafe asks Jada where this is coming from and if Talia has done anything before to make her suspect her. Jada says no and admits it’s hard to come up with a reason for why Talia would want to hurt Chanel or her family, but she knows she needs to look at all the possibilities. Jada states that both Talia and Sloan had the opportunity to steal Paulina’s keys when they were left unattended. Rafe won’t argue with her logic but thinks he may have found a hole in her theory.

Chanel tells Talia that she was talking to Rafe in his office and he had a picture of Allie and Henry on his desk that she had just sent to him. Chanel adds that Rafe didn’t answer when she asked if Allie was seeing someone in New Zealand so she obviously is. Talia says she’s sorry. Chanel says she’s not surprised but that’s why the health department shutting them down is only part of the reason that the day is so rough for her. Talia asks if Chanel and Allie were pretty serious. Chanel says they were, but then they hit a rough patch and she thought they would work it out but then she caught her with Alex and that was the end of them.

Alex assures Maggie that he and Gwen are done seeing each other. Alex explains that he started therapy with Marlena, who helped him realize that all of his sleeping around was his way of avoiding commitment. Maggie is glad to hear that he sees that. Alex declares that as of now, he’s putting all his energy in to his commitment at Titan and will show her that he’s dead serious in doing his part in contributing to the growth and success of the family business. Maggie then gets a call from Victor and notes that he sounds upset. Maggie asks if he’s sure and is shocked as Alex asks what’s going on. Maggie announces that Victor’s son and Alex’s cousin, Bo Brady, is alive.

Leo decides Gwen made it clear that they are overextended on their tab at the room. Gwen complains about the massive hotel bill. Leo suggests settling on a cheap bottle of wine and fruit cups. Leo tells Gwen that he knows losing Xander was a huge loss for her and she needs to mourn that loss, so she can do whatever she needs to get a handle on her feelings and he will be there for her. Gwen thanks him and admits she really does need to vent and just get it out and mourn the loss. Gwen says she needs to stop pretending to be so tough and invulnerable and notes that she talked about that with Alex. Leo remarks that he then dumped her too and then apologizes for that slipping out.

Alex questions Bo being alive after being dead for years. Alex calls it wild but great news. Maggie adds that there is bad news as well since Bo is in a coma at a hospital in Greece and they’re not sure he’s ever going to wake up. Alex talks about hearing from Victor about how much he loved Bo and how proud he was of him. Maggie says that’s why Victor is fueling up the jet as they speak as he’s planning on flying to Greece to make sure Bo is getting the best possible care. Maggie says she’s never heard Victor this emotional as everything in him aches to be with Bo, the son that he thought he lost. Alex can only imagine what he’s going through. Alex suggests Maggie go with Victor to Greece while he will handle all the business here if she gives him that chance.

Rafe goes over the police report that Shawn filed before going to Greece with the times of events. Rafe notes that Paulina went to her office with her own keys not long after it was vandalized so if Sloan or Talia took them, they would have had very little time to return them.

Chanel admits that even though Allie is halfway around the world, she thought they might find their way back to each other but now Allie has moved on. Chanel decides maybe she should move on too and begins kissing Talia. Talia thinks back to Colin telling her of their plan. Talia then pulls away and tells Chanel that maybe they shouldn’t do this.

Xander questions where Colin is from and asks if his accent is from London. Colin suggests they don’t ask each other about who is coming in and out of their rooms. Xander says he’s packing up anyway as he’s finally moving out of this motel. Colin guesses they won’t have a problem then and goes in to his room. Xander remarks that he’s glad to be getting out of here.

Chloe cries to Brady that it’s not about her feelings for him but ever since Kristen got to Rachel, she’s felt responsible for the suffering of a child and she couldn’t get Rachel to like her. Chloe adds that Rachel has had a hard enough life without seeing her as the only thing standing in the way of having her family together. Brady says he understands. Chloe thanks him. Chloe understands it’s hard for him too and that nothing is more important than being a father. Brady asks if this is it then and it’s over. Chloe talks about feeling sad and wanting to sing to cheer herself up, but the first song that came to her mind was “I Will Always Love You”, which didn’t cheer her up. Chloe states that the lyrics did ring true because she will always love Brady. Brady responds that he will too as they kiss.

Chanel questions Talia not thinking this is a good idea when there is real chemistry between them. Chanel asks if she’s not sure about being with a woman but Talia says it’s not that. Chanel questions what it is then since Talia made a bold move in deciding to kiss her but now she’s pulling back and asks why. Talia thinks back to Colin insisting that she do this. Talia says that Chanel is her boss and asks how that would look for a boss and employee to be hooking up. Talia brings up the policy at Jada’s job and how that’s getting in the way of her getting with her boss.

Rafe tells Jada that maybe it wasn’t Sloan or Talia who trashed Paulina’s office but maybe someone else entirely. Jada brings up that Sloan swears she had nothing to do with it and she hopes that her sister didn’t either. Jada realizes there’s a hardware store in the town square, so it wouldn’t take long for someone to go and get a copy of Paulina’s key made.

Alex tells Maggie that everyone thinks Victor is so strong, but they all know that Maggie is what keeps him strong as his rock and that’s why she needs to go be with him in Greece. Maggie isn’t sure about leaving right now and brings up the last time she trusted Alex and how he undermined her authority and compromised the values of the company. Alex can’t deny that or that Maggie has been generous in giving him far more chances than he deserves. Alex admits he had poor judgment in the past and made some errors, but nothing matters more to him than his family. Alex pleads with Maggie to go be with Victor in Greece as he’s about to go through something very difficult, emotional, and miraculous which is why he needs her. Maggie then agrees to go but warns that this is Alex’s last chance to prove that he is committed to this company and the family. Maggie hands Alex the details on a huge deal for Titan, noting that he doesn’t have to do anything but close the deal. Alex promises that he won’t let her down.

Gwen admits to Leo that she was only using Alex to get over Xander. Gwen believed that Xander would stick around and talks about how they were together. Gwen says she never felt such a deep connection like that to someone ever before. Leo relates to never having that. Gwen hopes he gets it one day because it’s the best feeling of all to know that somebody sees you for you with all of your faults and still loves you. Gwen says it makes you love yourself more. Leo says that Gwen makes him feel that way and jokes that if only they wanted to jump each others’ bones. Leo tells Gwen that he’s sorry it didn’t work out with Xander and that he had to be the one to tell her about him moving in with Chloe. Gwen acknowledges that she would’ve found out eventually. Gwen decides she has to go get some air and figure out how to say goodbye to the only man that she ever truly loved.

Xander returns to the apartment and finds Brady and Chloe kissing. Brady then turns and exits as Chloe holds back tears.

Rafe suggests he and Jada go check out the hardware store. Jada decides they will show Sloan and Talia’s pictures to see if either of them had a key made that day.

Chanel tells Talia that places have rules like that about inappropriate relationships between bosses and subordinates, but she’s the boss here and there’s no policy to stop her from being with someone she likes and it’s consensual. Chanel adds that she doesn’t know if Talia working for her would even be an issue with the shutdown as she doesn’t know if the bakery can survive this. Talia encourages that she’s confident that Chanel will figure out a way to keep the place going. Chanel says that if she does, it will be because she has someone like Talia in her corner, who has her back and that she can trust…

Colin looks at his phone with the article about the Bakery being shut down and smiles. Colin then goes to text Talia.

Chanel tells Talia that she feels like she can trust her and that means so much to her. Talia then gets a text from Colin, asking how it’s going and if she’s got things cooking with her boss yet. Chanel asks if everything is okay. Talia claims it was just spam. Chanel says she’s going to stay and clean up a bit more. Talia offers to help but Chanel says she can handle it. Chanel then asks Talia on a date for later so they can talk more and see where it goes. Talia accepts so Chanel suggests dinner at the Bistro.

Xander asks Chloe if what he walked in on means that she and Brady are back together. Xander adds that he’ll totally understand if she no longer wants to move in together and says he’ll figure something out. Chloe stops him and says that what he walked in on with her and Brady was goodbye.

Brady sits at a table at the Brady Pub. Gwen joins him and says she hears Xander and Chloe are shacking up, so she asks if he wants to drown their sorrows together.

Xander brings in a pizza and beers as he and Chloe’s first meal together. They joke about each others’ pizza toppings. Xander toasts to Chloe being better off without Brady and then they toast to each other. Chloe acknowledges that Xander can be quite charming when he sets his mind to it.

Brady tells Gwen that he’s just drinking club soda. Gwen wants something stronger. Brady heard that she had given up drinking scotch. Gwen says she had but picked it back up again. Gwen admires Brady for not doing so in trying circumstances. Gwen says she’s sorry about he and Chloe. Brady thanks her and wishes he could say the same about her and Xander but he thinks she’s better off without him. Gwen suggests maybe he’s better off without Chloe. Brady questions why she would say that to him. Gwen questions it being fine for him to say about Xander but she’s supposed to sing Chloe’s praises. Brady argues that whatever she had with Xander doesn’t compare to what he had with Chloe. Gwen calls him an angry drunk who doesn’t drink. Brady asks if she thinks they are going to cry on each others’ shoulders. Gwen says she’s not crying but she needs that drink as they both yell for the waitress.

Maggie tells Alex that she got everything arranged to fly to Greece with Victor. Alex talks about going over the amazing deal she set up for Titan and promises that she won’t regret letting him handle it. Maggie reminds him to stick to what she laid out in the folder and then when she comes back, they will all be in a better place. Maggie then exits.

Chanel walks through the town square and runs in to Leo. Leo asks about her engagement to Johnny. Chanel repeats that they are just friends and the engagement is off. Chanel adds that she has a date tonight with someone else. Leo jokes about asking what gender it is. Chanel says he would like to know and walks away.

Talia returns to Colin at the motel. Colin asks how it went. Talia informs him that she has dinner tonight at the Bistro with Chanel. Colin calls that fancy and questions her not being excited about it. Talia asks why she would be excited when she is deceiving someone just to get her in bed to break her heart. Talia remarks that she does have a conscience. Colin says he respects her for that but Chanel killed his mother in the most horrible way possible and asks if she’s forgotten that. Talia assures that she hasn’t but she can’t help but feel for Chanel. Colin tells her to fight that feeling and do this for him. Colin knows she will because they love each other and she knows how important this is to him as they kiss.

Rafe and Jada meet with the hardware store owner in the town square. Rafe shows a photo of Sloan and asks if she came in to make a copy of a key a few weeks ago. He says no, insisting that he would remember such a pretty lady. Jada then shows a photo of Talia. The owner does remember Talia, noting that she was in a hell of a rush.

At the police station, Jada is looking over Talia’s witness statement when Rafe arrives. Rafe tells Jada that he’s really sorry about this as he hands over his tablet, showing her Leo’s latest gossip column about them titled “Kissing Cops, Will They Be Cancelled?”, which leaves Jada outraged.

Leo sits down to eat room service in his room at the Salem Inn. Gwen stops him and can’t believe he spent $65 on breakfast. Gwen orders him to send it back but Leo says he can’t because he already took a bite. Leo adds that he ordered her some too. Gwen says she’s sorry but complains about how much they’ve spent on the place. Gwen brings up how management is about not paying rent promptly and says they can’t keep living like this. Gwen tells Leo no more massages, spas, or room service and that they need to find a new place to live. Alex then shows up at the door and asks Gwen if they can talk.

Xander and Chloe check out an apartment to possibly move in to. Chloe notes how she never expected to be doing this with him. Xander calls the unexpected fun. Xander praises the apartment and notes that most importantly it gets her out of the Salem Inn and him out of the dump he’s in.

Paulina joins Chanel in the town square and announces that she has ordered 200 bear claws to show the City Hall employees her appreciation. Chanel responds that she’s sorry but she can’t fill that order. Paulina says there’s no rush on the order and suggests cinnamon donuts instead. Paulina then asks why Chanel is looking so sad. Chanel responds that she can’t fill any order and reveals that the Bakery has been shut down by the health department due to a public health violation. Chanel announces that Sweet Bits is now out of business. Paulina sits with her and questions how they can do this without even warning her. Chanel says they left a message but she didn’t get it until just now. Paulina argues that this is wrong and unfair. Paulina wants to give them a piece of her mind but Chanel says not to. Paulina argues that this was Chanel’s dream and she’s not going to let someone just trample on it. Chanel admits it was her dream but declares that it’s now over. Paulina questions if this is just temporary until the investigation is resolved and they prove Sloan drugged the biscuits. Paulina believes everyone will come flocking back to the Bakery then. Chanel appreciates her optimism. Paulina refuses to allow Chanel to give up on her dream and declares that she will not stand for it.

Rafe understands why Jada is mad at Leo and says he is too as he’s a mean little creep but points out that this was obviously Sloan who leaked the story since she is the one who saw them together. Jada argues that Sloan also knows he was drugged but that’s not mentioned. Rafe says it’s good he disclosed everything to Abe before this story came out so he knows it was out of their control and won’t take action against them. Rafe states that he cannot wait to throw the book at that bitch. Rafe adds that since this was leak was intended to throw off their investigation, maybe he’ll throw obstruction of justice onto Sloan’s long list of charges. Jada says that’s assuming Sloan is the one who committed the crimes. Rafe questions if Jada is still thinking it could’ve been her sister.

Talia gets out of the shower while Colin is distracted by reading Leo’s column. Colin shows the article to Talia and points out that it’s about her sister.

Leo assumes he has to leave so Gwen and Alex can talk. Leo says he will take his champagne to go and will start hunting for an apartment for them as he then exits. Gwen tells Alex that this is a nice surprise. Alex admits he actually did want to talk. Alex knows it may seem sudden but he doesn’t think it’s a good idea that they see each other anymore.

Xander continues talking up the apartment while Chloe notes that she hasn’t agreed to anything yet. Xander worries that a place like this might go quick. Chloe doesn’t like being rushed in important decisions as she feels she needs to see more. Chloe sends Xander to go check the water pressure in the shower while she checks around for mold. Brady then walks in and sees Chloe. They ask each other what they are doing there. Brady explains that he’s looking at the apartment for himself and Rachel. Chloe reveals that she’s looking for an apartment too, noting that the Salem Inn keeps raising their rates and she’s not working. Brady points out that it’s a two bedroom apartment and questions why Chloe would move there if she’s cutting back. Xander then comes back in and tells Chloe that he thinks they should take it. Brady is shocked to see Xander and questions what the hell is this.

Gwen questions Alex breaking up with her. Alex says he’s just suggesting that they stop sleeping together. Gwen asks if there’s any particular reason. Alex tells her that he had another session with Marlena, who made him understand that this whole thing between them is actually part of his unhealthy pattern. Alex acknowledges that Gwen is hot, funny, and beautiful and he’s attracted to her so it’s going to be harder for him than walking away from any other vice. Alex says he decided to lean in to the whole no strings sex thing after screwing up with Stephanie, but Marlena made him realize that it’s not the best way to handle things and that he’s avoiding his feelings while using Gwen to do that which is not cool. Gwen tells Alex that she doesn’t mind being used. Alex insists that this isn’t healthy for either of them and he wants better for her. Alex thinks she should want better for herself too.

Talia complains that Leo’s article is unfair since Rafe only kissed Jada because he was high from the drugged biscuits. Talia feels terrible since Jada works so hard at her job and worries about her finding out if her own sister was behind it. Colin argues that she’s not to blame. Talia asks how he can say that when she is the one who tainted the biscuits. Colin says that’s only because Chanel tore apart his family and needs to pay for being a homewrecker and a murderer. Colin argues that it’s called justice and Talia was just righting a wrong out of love. Colin tells Talia that he loves her for it and kisses her. Colin thinks Leo has done them a favor and suggests now that the cops are distracted, maybe it’s time to turn up the heat on Chanel.

Chanel knows Paulina is just trying to lift her spirits. Paulina brings up Abe being Chanel’s stepfather but Chanel doesn’t want Abe dragged in to her mess. Paulina says it’s too late and calls it their mess. Paulina tells Chanel to sit there and not go anywhere as she walks away. Chanel then pulls out her phone.

Talia questions what Colin means by turning up the heat on Chanel. Talia then gets a phone call from Chanel. Talia answers and apologizes for being late. Chanel tells her not to worry because they’ve been shut down by the health department, so she was calling to tell her not to come in. Talia asks if she’s sure there is nothing she can do. Chanel responds that until they get to the bottom of this, there’s nothing anyone can do.

Jada tells Rafe that it’s still bothering her that Talia had the means and opportunity to tamper with the biscuits. Rafe points out that there’s still no motive. Jada complains about how Talia’s story kept coming out in pieces and she was forgetting things. Jada points out that Talia had a lack of an alibi and was one of the few people to have keys to the Bakery. Rafe notes that she didn’t have keys to Paulina’s office and that vandalism was likely from the same person. Jada says that’s unless they had an accomplice. Jada complains of shoulder pain. Rafe offers to help but then decides he better not.

Paulina returns to Chanel and tells her that Abe is in a meeting with the district attorney at the police station. Paulina wants to go track him down herself because there’s no way to stop her from doing what’s right for Chanel. Paulina talks about having obstacles in becoming a successful business woman. Paulina encourages that Chanel will push through this road block. Chanel then decides she’s coming with her. Paulina wants to take the head off the health inspector at city hall, but Chanel says there is something else she wants to do.

Rafe brings Jada some pills and water since they have to keep their distance. Rafe adds that he overheard that the Bakery has been shut down by the health department. Jada says that’s sad for Chanel but maybe this will force Talia to get the crazy idea out of her head to become the next cake boss and maybe she’ll use her medical training to actually save lives. Jada comments that once Talia gets an idea in her head, there’s no getting it out. Rafe compares that to Jada, pointing out how long she’s been staring at the case file. Jada says she’s just looking at the timeline to see if they missed anything. Rafe tells Jada that he will be in his office if she finds anything.

Gwen questions Alex thinking he’s not good enough for her when he’s rich and handsome. Alex clarifies that he just thinks they need to do some soul searching. Alex says he’s gotten to know Gwen pretty well and while others think she’s heartless, he knows she’s just heartbroken and that she only jumped in to bed with him to make Xander jealous. Gwen admits that maybe in the beginning, that was her motivation but now she couldn’t care less about Xander anymore. Alex feels that’s only because she’s afraid of dealing with her feelings and he’s doing the same thing. Alex acknowledges that the sex releases chemicals from their brain. Gwen jokes about Alex getting a medical degree from these sessions with Marlena. Alex says she just opened his eyes to things and he’s read some articles. Alex asks if they weren’t using sex as a distraction. Gwen says she’d rather not think about that. Alex says he’s trying to have an honest conversation with her which is the one thing they haven’t done since they started sleeping together. Gwen then reluctantly admits that she is heartbroken and that as much as she’s tried to get over Xander, it isn’t easy.

Brady questions Xander and Chloe moving in together. Xander says that’s right. Chloe insists they are just going to be roommates because she’s having financial issues. Brady argues that she could have come to him and brings up that Xander left her in the clutches of a Mexican drug lord. Xander states that he and Chloe have moved on from that while Brady says he hasn’t. Brady doesn’t understand why Chloe would even think about moving in with Xander. Chloe argues that they are friends. Brady says Xander is not her friend. Chloe states that Xander has been there for her. Brady asks if he hasn’t been. Chloe points out that they didn’t know each other were moving because they haven’t spoken in days. Brady didn’t think she wanted to hear from him. Chloe cries that she didn’t want to hear that he’s better off without her. Brady asks why he would say that and talks about how much he misses her. Xander says that’s enough because he’s upsetting her. Brady warns Xander to stay the hell out of this. Leo then arrives and questions what they have here, adding that he smells a story.

Alex questions Gwen admitting that she’s not over Xander and that he broke her heart. Gwen confirms it just like Stephanie broke Alex’s heart and she doesn’t think he is over her either. Alex asks why she’s bringing Stephanie in to this when they are history. Gwen points out that now they know Kayla is alive which means Alex didn’t deprive her the chance of saying goodbye to her mother. Alex insists this has nothing to do with that. Gwen asks if there’s not a small part of him that feels he and Stephanie could reignite that spark again. Alex claims absolutely not as that ship has sailed since Stephanie is with Chad now and he highly doubts she will ever look in his direction again. Alex repeats this has nothing to do with any other woman and is just about realizing that his life is a mess so he has to get back on track and move forward, not back. Alex thinks Gwen might feel the same way. Gwen wishes she could say she could.

Chloe questions what Leo is doing here. Leo says he’s also looking for an apartment for he and Gwen. Brady goes to check out the place while Leo questions if they are all moving in together. Xander clarifies that he and Chloe are looking for a place together. Leo asks about Brady showing up. Brady says it’s none of his business but he’s looking for a place for he and his daughter. Leo calls Brady’s daughter the demon seed from Hell. Brady calls him a son of a bitch as Xander steps in. Xander reminds Leo that he works for him, then breaks his pencil and tells him that his work is done.

Paulina goes to the police station and asks Jada about Abe, but Jada says she just missed him. Paulina guesses she’ll have to track down the health inspector herself at city hall. Jada mentions hearing about the bakery and calls it a shame. Paulina assures that it’s a temporary situation so she won’t have to worry about her sister’s employment. Jada says she was actually about to call Paulina because she was reviewing her statement about when her office was broken in to, so she hoped Paulina could answer a few more questions. Paulina asks if she has a new lead. Jada responds that she’s not sure yet.

Chanel goes to see Rafe in his office and says she hasn’t really had a chance to talk to him since the incident at the bakery outside of her and Talia going over their stories, but she wanted to tell Rafe that she’s really sorry that her baked goods put him in the hospital. Rafe appreciates it but says she has nothing to apologize for. Rafe talks about the biscuits being so good and that being why he had so many that he had a reaction to the drug. Chanel thanks him but just wishes she knew how it happened. Rafe assures they are working hard to figure that out and when they arrest someone, she’ll be the first to know. Chanel then notices a photo on Rafe’s desk.

Colin is excited about the bakery being shut down and tells Talia that he’s grateful for all she has done for him. Colin adds that he wouldn’t impose this on her if there was any way he could do it himself but the cops would be on him in a heartbeat. Talia says she knows but feels destroying Chanel’s business is revenge enough. Colin argues that she’s been there when he’s woken up from horrible nightmares all because of what Chanel took from him and Sloan, so he won’t rest until she feels the same kind of misery that she put them through. Talia questions if he’s talking about killing someone. Colin clarifies that he’s not a murderer, unlike Chanel. Colins declares that before Chanel killed his mother, she broke her heart by going after his father, so now it’s time for Chanel to feel what it’s like to have her heart broken. Talia argues that she already has since her ex cheated on her and then moved to a different continent. Colin calls it the perfect time for Talia to swoop in and sweep Chanel off her feet and then break her little heart all over again.

Jada goes over the timeline of events with Paulina. Paulina brings up Sloan threatening to come after her and then about an hour later, her office was vandalized. Jada agrees the timing is suspicious but points out that there were no signs of forced entry, so whoever broke in had a key. Paulina insists only she had a key. Jada asks if her keys were ever left unattended for someone else to gain access to. Paulina recalls her bag being left on a table at the café when Sloan confronted her and notes that it was when Chanel introduced her to Talia. Jada questions Talia being there.

Talia questions Colin wanting her to seduce Chanel. Colin asks what the problem is since Chanel is in to women and Talia is a woman. Talia argues that she’s not gay or even bisexual. Talia says she only wants Colin and thought he wanted her too, but it seems like he’s trying to pimp her out. Colin says not at all and it won’t be real for them but Chanel will fall head over heels for her. Colin questions that Talia will commit a crime for him but she won’t kiss a girl. Talia complains that it’s more than just kissing as he’s asking her to lead her on and then break her heart. Colin jokes that he doesn’t want her to ride off in to the sunset with her, since she is already spoken for. Talia doesn’t think she can do this. Colin insists on how important it is to him and says that when it’s finally over, he’ll be ok with no more mood swings or crazy depression because he will feel like he got justice for his mom and they will be so happy together. Colin tells Talia that he loves her so much. Talia says she loves him too so Colin says he knows she will pull through for him as they kiss on to the bed.

Chanel comments on a photo of Allie and her son Henry that she had sent Rafe, noting that Henry’s gotten so big that she hardly recognizes him and that Allie looks great. Chanel asks if Allie said how she’s liking New Zealand. Rafe says that she said she felt awkward at first but a little more comfortable now. Chanel asks what she’s been up to. Rafe says she’s just been working and meeting people. Chanel questions if that means she’s seeing someone then decides that Rafe doesn’t have to say anything and rushes out of the office.

Xander tells Leo that they are here to look for an apartment, not chronicle their love lives. Leo says no one is interested and he was just giving them a hard time. Leo decides that Gwen will definitely have to come check out the apartment. Xander says she’ll be wasting her time since he and Chloe were there first, so they are taking it which Chloe questions. Brady asks if Xander isn’t going to ask Chloe what she thinks. Xander points out that Chloe said she liked it, so he figured since he’s footing the bill, he would make a decision. Brady remarks that it sounds like Chloe is a kept woman now which upsets Chloe, who says she will happily pay her half of the rent when she gets a job because she loves the place. Chloe then announces that she and Xander are taking the apartment and they high five.

Leo goes home and tells Gwen that he saw Alex walking out, so he assumed it was safe to come up. Gwen tells him there’s nothing to see so he’s fine and that Alex just came over to dump her. Leo asks if he’s crazy. Gwen says she doesn’t want to talk about it and asks about the apartment because she could really use a pick me up. Leo says it was amazing but unfortunately, someone got to it before they did. Leo knows it’s a terrible time to bring this up but she’s going to find out anyway. Leo then reveals that Xander is shacking up with Chloe.

Chloe comes back to the apartment and finds Brady there. Chloe thought he left with Xander and Leo. Brady says he came back to talk to her alone. Chloe asks if they have anything left to talk about. Brady tells her that he loves her and in spite of everything that has conspired to keep them apart, he thinks she might still love him too. Brady calls it fate that they both ended up here. Brady thinks it would be a really big mistake for her to get involved with Xander, so he doesn’t want to see that happen.

Jada asks Paulina about Talia being there when Sloan confronted her. Paulina talks about liking Talia since day one and how she’s been great at the bakery and even helped her through her panic attacks. Paulina remarks that Chanel is lucky to have Talia in her corner and asks what else she wants to know.

Xander walks down the hall at his motel and sees Colin going back to his room. Xander stops and comments that he thought that was Talia’s room.

Talia joins Chanel at the Bakery. Chanel reminds her that she didn’t have to come in today. Talia says she was just seeing how she was doing since she sounded stressed on the phone. Chanel calls that really sweet of her but admits she’s not doing well and that the day just keeps getting worse. Talia hugs her and says she’s really sorry. Talia then says maybe she can make her feel better as she then kisses Chanel.

Belle goes to see EJ at the DiMera Mansion and says she rushed over after she got his message that it was a matter of life and death.

Harris checks out at the hotel in Greece and goes to leave when he runs in to Shawn.

Steve, Kayla, Andrew, and Roman watch the video from the microchip in Bo’s brain that reveals that Bo did not shoot Kate and allowed her to go. Kayla exclaims that Bo did not shoot Kate. Roman declares that this could mean that Kate is alive but wonders where the hell she is and where she went. Andrew wishes he had an answer but says the ISA scoured the entire island and surrounding areas so they have no idea where she is, but he is absolutely certain that Kate is not on that island.

Kate is somewhere on a boat, cutting up fish. Kate stops to think back to being in this same spot cutting fish over 25 years ago and questions how she has ended up back here, remarking that it must be a joke or a kick in the ass. Kate complains that she’s not such a bad person. Kate admits she hasn’t always been a saint but argues that she doesn’t deserve this. Kate asks why this is always happening to her.

Outside the hospital in Greece, Chad asks Stephanie if she’s nervous about seeing her uncle Bo. Stephanie responds that she was actually just thinking about Harris Michaels and how she ripped in to him at the lab yesterday. Chad calls it understandable since Harris didn’t say anything about her parents’ lives being in danger. Stephanie acknowledges that Harris was so apologetic at the hotel and asks if she was too hard on him. Chad doesn’t think so. Stephanie thanks Chad for reminding her that Harris saved them from Thomas Banks. Chad argues that Harris is lucky that more people didn’t get hurt. Stephanie thinks he knows that and is beating himself up over everything that happened.

Harris tells Shawn that he ran in to Hope and asks if there’s any change in Bo’s condition. Shawn informs him that he’s still in a coma and the doctors don’t know when or if he’s ever going to come out of it. Harris tells him that he’s sorry. Shawn tells him not to be. Shawn declares that what happened to his father is his fault but Harris disagrees and blames himself.

Belle questions EJ saying it was a life or death situation that Stefan hired Gabi at DiMera. EJ complains about having to work with Gabi and argues that she’s trying to steal his company. Belle asks what Stefan hired Gabi to do. EJ says she’s been hired as a vague consultant and told to eliminate inefficiency. EJ adds that her first task is to evaluate his performance and argues that she’s obviously trying to get the board to eliminate him. EJ continues to complain about Gabi and argues that this is utter madness. Belle asks if he has concerns about Stefan’s mental state which would endanger DiMera. EJ calls that good and says they could use that if they need to. EJ wants to start by going through the company by laws to see if there are any loopholes he can use to get rid of Gabi. EJ asks Belle to get started on that today. Belle can’t believe this is what EJ had her rush over for. Belle tells him that she was on her way to the courthouse when he called and she had to explain to a client and a very unhappy judge that she had to reschedule because of a personal emergency. Belle complains that EJ lied to her and questions how Stefan hiring Gabi comes anywhere near a life or death situation. EJ tells her that it’s about far more like protecting what his father built, guarding his children’s inheritance and legacy. EJ argues that the stakes couldn’t be higher as his family’s company is hanging by a thread. Belle asks if his family’s company is in the ICU which EJ questions. Belle informs EJ that her husband is dealing with a real life or death situation when an actual human being could die. EJ questions what she’s talking about and asks what happened to Shawn. Belle doesn’t think he cares but EJ insists that she tell him what happened. Belle then reveals that Shawn accidentally shot his father and put him in a coma.

Harris knows Shawn blames himself for what happened to Bo, but says he’s the one that put this all in motion. Shawn says they’ve been over this. Harris states that he is the reason that Hope and Shawn were on that cliff, so he’s responsible for what happened. Harris admits he could tell something was off with Bo when he saw him and that he was armed, but he sent Hope by herself. Shawn argues that he already explained himself. Harris says he just wanted to apologize as he was selfish and wrong. Harris adds that if he would’ve told Hope sooner or gone with her, the outcome would have been different.

Kayla decides she will go tell Hope about Kate and says she will be so relieved. Steve hugs Roman and says he’s so happy for him. Roman can’t believe his wife is alive and his brother doesn’t have to live with the guilt of taking her from them. Steve knows Bo would never forgive himself if he took a life. Roman says he’s grateful that Kate is alive but they still have no idea where she went. Roman declares that he will search the planet for her. Steve and Andrew say they are with him so Roman decides they will put their heads together and make a plan to find his wife.

Kate asks if her life could be any more crazy as one moment she’s being held at gunpoint by a reincarnated Bo Brady and then she’s in the middle of the Mediterranean, chopping up an endless pile of fish. Kate remarks that she’s not enjoying this. Kate talks about how suffering is everywhere so maybe accepting it is the way to be free of it. Kate declares that this is her life and to accept it. Kate then decides against that and begins screaming for help, asking if there’s anyone out there to help her get off this boat. Kate then hears footsteps and wonders if someone is there.

Chad finishes a call with his kids, assuring they will be home very soon. Chad says he and Stephanie love them as he hangs up. Stephanie says the kids obviously miss him if he wants to go back to Salem. Chad assures that they are well taken care of by Doug and Julie while he wants to be here with her. Stephanie thanks him for all of his support through all this and says he has no idea how much it means to her. Chad kisses her and suggests they go see Bo. Kayla then comes out from the hospital and says she was just going to call. Stephanie asks if everything is okay. Kayla says it’s better than okay as she has really incredible news. Stephanie asks if Bo is awake. Kayla says no but he did squeeze Hope’s hand a little while ago which Chad calls amazing. Kayla says it’s encouraging but the news is not about Bo, it’s about Kate which Chad questions. Kayla announces that Bo did not kill Kate, so she is alive which shocks Chad.

Roman tells Steve and Andrew that the first question is how Kate escaped the island. Andrew points out that she couldn’t have escaped by plane so the only way out would have been by boat. Steve points out that they know Dr. Rolf escaped on a boat as they found him in Athens. Andrew notes that Bo took Kayla on a similar boat. Roman asks if there was another boat. Andrew says not that they know of, but there was a space for a third boat. Roman declares that has to be how Kate left. Andrew agrees. Roman points out that Bo released Kate weeks ago, so he questions where the hell she’s been all this time and why she hasn’t contacted someone.

A man approaches Kate on the boat. Kate tells him that she needs his help. Kate says she knows how much he helped her already and says he saved her life already as when she was on the little boat, she had no idea where she was going until he rescued her and brought her on this ship. The man asks her about her work cutting fish. Kate says she will get back to that but first she needs to make a phone call. He offers a phone but questions how much she will pay him for it.

Harris encourages Shawn to let himself off the hook since he did this. Shawn tells him to stop. Harris argues that Shawn saw Bo holding a gun on his mother and asks how he couldn’t react. Shawn complains that he keeps hearing over and over again that he did what anyone else would have done and he’s sick and tired of it. Shawn declares that the bottom line is that his dad may die because of him and him alone. Shawn knows Harris is just trying to make him feel better or make himself feel less guilty, but he can look at it however he wants. Shawn admits some of it is on Harris but at the end of the day, Harris didn’t pull the trigger and shoot his own father.

EJ questions Belle saying that Shawn shot his own father and put him in a coma. Belle confirms it happened two days ago in Greece. EJ questions why he would do that. Belle explains that Shawn thought Bo was about to shoot Hope but he wasn’t and it was just a terrible, tragic mistake. EJ asks what the prognosis is. Belle says that nobody really knows and they just wait and pray now. Belle tells EJ that is a life and death situation while what is happening with Gabi is not. Belle notes that Bo might not survive and Shawn is just devastated. EJ remarks that it sounds like Shawn really screwed up so Belle punches him in the stomach. EJ questions her doing that. Belle says EJ deserved it and says what happened was an accident. Belle knows EJ doesn’t like Shawn but says that what he said is low even for him. EJ apologizes for not thinking before speaking. Belle argues that EJ should’ve thought before inviting her over or just thought more in general about what an insensitive jerk he is. Belle goes to leave but EJ stops her and says he knows that he and Shawn don’t get along, but he does feel for him and their whole family so he’s sorry that she’s going through what she’s going through. Belle thanks him. EJ would like to make up for what he said and thinks he knows how can do that.

Harris acknowledges that he can’t know how Shawn feels and that he didn’t pull the trigger, but he still feels responsible and like he should be the one paying for it. Shawn tells Harris that nothing is going to happen to him since he didn’t do anything illegal. Shawn argues that the only one punishing Harris would be himself because no one is coming to arrest him. Harris argues that he’s still paying for it because he lost Hope.

Kayla explains to Stephanie and Chad that the surgeon found a microchip in Bo’s brain which is how Megan was controlling him and the ISA was able to read the chip with an app which contained a video file from Bo’s point of view, so they could see everything he did and hear what he was saying. Kayla adds that they very clearly see Bo fire his gun in the air and tell Kate to run which she did. Chad is confused because he thought Bo told Kayla himself that he killed Kate. Kayla confirms that he did. Stephanie questions why Bo would lie. Kayla thinks he did it to scare her to keep her in line, since he went out of his way to make her believe that he was dangerous and capable of murder. Kayla says no matter what he said, she knew it wasn’t true. Stephanie is relieved that she was right and hugs her as Chad remains in disbelief.

Roman says the first thing Kate would have wanted to do when she got off the island would be to call her family and let them know that she was alive, so he questions why she didn’t. Steve points out that Kate likely had no idea where she was and no way to navigate, so it might have taken her for awhile to get to the main land. Roman argues that it shouldn’t take weeks and asks why Kate wouldn’t find the first person she saw and ask to use their phone. Andrew points out that Kate wasn’t an experienced sailor and the water out there can be treacherous. Roman tells Andrew not to suggest that Kate didn’t make it. Roman calls Kate the strongest woman he knows as she has survived cancer, a plane crash, being shot, and buried alive. Roman argues that there’s no chance and guarantees that Kate is alive.

Kate questions the man wanting her to pay to use his phone. The man says he has to pay his bills. Kate argues that she has nothing to her name other than the clothes she is wearing. The man asks about her boat. Kate explains that was just a boat she found when she escaped the island that she was being held prisoner on. Kate says when he found her in the water, she had just escaped and everyone she loves thinks she’s dead. Kate just wants to call her husband to tell him that she’s alive and she wants to go home. Kate assures that she can pay him when she gets home but she doesn’t have anything to give him now. The man then asks what about her wedding ring.

Chad can’t believe Kate is alive and excitedly hugs Stephanie. Kayla calls it incredible news. Chad asks where she is and if he can see or talk to Kate. Kayla suggests going inside for answers so they head in to the hospital.

Andrew apologizes to Roman and agrees that there is no reason to give up hope. Roman knows he has to be prepared for any outcome. Andrew declares that the only acceptable outcome in this case is to find Kate. Andrew thinks he will need to go find reinforcements so they will catch up in a bit. Andrew then exits. Steve tells Roman that he’s right that Kate is as tough as they come. Roman guesses that Kate washed ashore on another island. Roman hopes he wasn’t too hard on Andrew just now. Steve assures that Andrew understands Roman is just laying out the facts to make sure everybodyis prepared for the mission to find Kate.

Belle asks how EJ is planning to make it up to her. EJ doesn’t suppose anything will make up for his behavior but thinks he can offer her something she may find useful. EJ then offers Belle the DiMera jet so she can go see her husband. EJ is sure Shawn is in a lot of pain and he knows she wants to be with him. EJ tells Belle to fly out to Greece today and come back whenever she’s ready, noting that he will pay for all the expenses. Belle calls that very generous of him but says she can’t because she’s in the middle of a tiral. EJ suggests asking for a continuance and believes everyone would understand. Belle feels it wouldn’t be fair to her client to just take off and that Shawn understands. EJ tells her to just let him know if she changes her mind. EJ decides he will handle Gabi as Belle then exits the mansion.

Harris repeats to Shawn that he saw Hope earlier and she made it very clear that it was over between them. Shawn asks what he expected after keeping the truth from her about the love of her life, so of course she was going to dump his ass. Shawn asks if he expects him to feel sorry for him. Harris says no and that he’ll just have to live with how he hurt all of them for the rest of his life. Shawn says he’s going to shower and then back to the hospital. Harris notes that he will be praying for his family and he really does hope that Bo will be okay. Shawn then heads to his room. Harris then gets a text from Andrew, saying he needs to talk to him.

Roman tells Steve that he’s having a hell of a time wrapping his head around this whole thing, especially Bo being alive. Steve talks about seeing Bo in front of him after all these years. Roman guesses it had to be confusing with the way Bo was acting. Steve says it didn’t take too long to realize it wasn’t the real Bo Brady but that his best friend of 40 years was still in there somewhere. Roman talks about being so damn happy when he heard Bo was back but he was having a hard time with the thought that Bo killed Kate. Roman states that he loves Bo and would’ve done anything to help him get better, but he doubts there’s any way he could have ever forgiven him if he had killed Kate. Steve is glad he doesn’t have to worry about that anymore. Roman calls it a big weight off his shoulders. Steve tells Roman to just wait until they get Kate back. Roman says they just have to find her.

Kate tells the man that she can’t give him her wedding ring. He argues that she can just get another one when she returns home. Kate argues that she can’t as it’s one of a kind and her prized possession. Kate mentions Roman putting it on her finger on her deathbed. The man insists that if she wants to use his phone, he needs the ring. Kate reluctantly agrees but notes that the ring is her last possession. The man warns that she only gets one call and no more. Kate hands over the ring as he gives her the phone. Kate then calls Roman, hoping he picks up.

As she’s leaving the DiMera Mansion, Belle calls Shawn and asks if he’s at the hospital. Shawn says he’s at the hotel for a quick shower. Belle asks for the latest. Shawn says he just spoke to Hope and she said Bo squeezed her hand. Belle calls that a good sign. Shawn says the doctors said not to get their hopes up since nothing else has changed and they don’t expect Bo to wake up any time soon. Belle encourages that he could and tells Shawn not to give up hope. Shawn assures that he’s not but that it’s just hard.

Kate pleads for Roman to pick up the phone but gets a recording that the call could not be completed as dialed. Kate wants to try again but the man reminds her that she only had one call. Kate tries to argue but he refuses and tells her to get back to work as he exits.

Chad, Stephanie, and Kayla join Roman and Steve. Stephanie calls it the best news about Kate. Chad asks what the plan is to find her. Steve responds that they are working on it. Chad wants to help with whatever they need. Roman says they appreciate that and they have some leads and taht Andrew is on it too. Kayla asks if Andrew is still around. Steve notes that he said he had to go get reinforcements. Stephanie asks what that means. Roman admits he’s not sure.

Andrew meets Harris at the hotel and says he’s glad he caught him. Harris says he was just heading out when he got his text. Andrew asks where he’s heading. Harris says he’s just going some place else to figure out his next move. Andrew responds that maybe he can help him with that. Andrew informs Harris that he needs his help as it turns out Kate is alive and they need to find her. Harris questions why Andrew would want his help when he has done irreparable damage to his family. Andrew asks how he’d like a shot at redemption.
