Recap written by Michele and Cheryl

Brady met with Justin at the pub. He gave Justin the briefcase. Justin wondered if he and Alex opened it. Brady told him that they wanted to wait for Maggie to do it. He talked to Justin about his conversation with Konstantin and how Victor was looking for a letter. He told Justin that they went to Victor’s childhood home and looked for the letters Kayla saw there. Justin was surprised to find out that Theresa went to Greece too. Brady told him that she wanted to get back together with him. They had a discussion about whether he should get back together with her. Justin was worried that Theresa would get too involved in Alex’s life. Theresa arrived at the pub and Brady dropped the bomb about Tate being expelled from school. Theresa wanted to know what he did, but Brady said the headmaster didn’t tell him. He let her know that he was going to California to pick him up and she wanted to go with him. He didn’t want her going. She reminded him that she was the one raising him for year. Brady had to back down to her. He apologized for the way he treated her in Greece. She told him that she figured something out. He wanted to ask her about it, but she thought they should focus on Tate. Vivian threw Maggie’s nameplate in the garbage. Philip arrived at the office and wondered what she wanted. She let him know that she wanted him to work with her. He wondered why she thought he would work with her. She reminded him that she carried him and wanted to feel close to him again. She said he belonged at Titan, but he turned her down. She said Victor would have wanted him to work there. He reminded her that Victor would have wanted Maggie to have the mansion and the company. He asked her if she would give everything back to Maggie for him, but she refused to do it. He knew she thought of him as a son, but they were nothing to each other. He said working at Titan drove him crazy and he didn’t want that. She wanted to help him get Chloe back. She thought if he worked at Titan, he would have a chance to get her back.

Philip reminded Vivian that Chloe was engaged to Xander. She thought he should fight for Chloe. He couldn’t do that. She promised to help him get her back if he would help her. He didn’t take her offer. Maggie went to see Sarah at the hospital. Sarah noticed that she was upset about something. Maggie told her what happened. She assured Sarah that she wasn’t giving up. She told her about Brady and Alex going to Greece to find out some information that could help her. Rex arrived and told Sarah they should get married that day. Sarah was surprised, but Rex had everything planned out. Maggie didn’t agree with her decision to keep Xander in the dark even though she was going to keep her secret. She reminded her that Xander was Victoria’s father and had a right to know the truth. She promised to keep Sarah’s secret, but she wasn’t going to officiate the ceremony since she knew the marriage was fake. Later, Justin went to meet with Maggie at Julie and Doug’s place. He told her that Shane confirmed that it was Victor’s briefcase. She was nervous to open it. Maggie told him that Vivian was coming after her family so she had to do whatever she could to stop them. She opened the case and saw the letters first. Justin let her know they were looking for the letters. She gave them to him. She picked up the letter at the bottom of the case. She opened the letter. They were excited to find Victor’s last will. Rex met with Philip at the town square. He told him that he was marrying Sarah that day. Philip congratulated him and wanted to know if he told Kate about it. Rex didn’t tell her. He didn’t want to lie to her. Philip didn’t know what he meant by that. Rex told him that Xander is Victoria’s father. Chloe was behind them and heard Rex’s confession.

Adam: Oh, yes, I should have known that I would be hearing from you about the intel I have on Tucker. I heard that he’s back from, uh, Paris without Ashley. What’s that about?

Billy: Not quite sure yet. Word on the street is things between them disintegrated, both personally and professionally.

Adam: Hm. That’s pretty quick, even for Tucker’s standards. So, if it’s true, it sounds like a really pissed off megalomaniac, which means he’s probably back for revenge.

Billy: Yeah, that’s the theory.

Adam: Mm-hmm. Well, there’s no wonder you need something to stop him in his tracks then. Well, Billy, I guess I would ask you the same question that I asked you last time we talked about this. What are you proposing to offer me in return?

Billy: Well, I guess I would give you the same answer until or unless I have an idea of what this information you claim to have on Tucker is or how damaging it is to him. I can’t possibly know what it’s worth.

*****************

Audra:  What’s with this edge I’m hearing in your voice? Okay, I’ve heard you direct that at other people, but never at me, and frankly, I don’t appreciate it.

[ Kyle chuckles ]

Kyle: I’m surprised, that’s all.

Audra: At what?

Kyle: At how quickly you were able to turn off your feelings. We went from your hotel suite to distant acquaintances in the blink of an eye.

Audra: Hm, well, I mean, you talk like we had some sort of storybook romance.

Kyle: I thought it meant something.

Audra: Yes, it did. Two consenting adults who were attracted to each other. You know, we had fun. The sex was great. And now, we move on with our lives.

Kyle: I see.

Audra: Don’t look so wounded. Your pride might have taken a hit, but your heart, it’s just fine. Look, we both know the truth here. You’re not the love of my life and I’m not the love of yours. That would be Summer.

Kyle: Okay, how many times do I have to say it? It is over between me and Summer. There’s no hope of us finding our way back to each other.

Audra: Well, if that’s true, you know, which I doubt, I’m very sorry for you.

Kyle: Don’t be.

Audra: Look, Kyle. Look, I know that this, okay, was just about you trying to forget how much Summer means to you. But if you dig deep, and take a long, hard, honest look, I think you’ll discover that you miss her and you still love her much more than you’re willing to admit

Victoria: Dad, that is so unfair.

Victor: Really? I think the results speak for themselves.

[ Victoria sighing ]

Victoria: Well, here’s another thought.

Victor: What?

Victoria: You took charge because you can’t stand not being in control and I was set up to fail. I blame myself for not seeing this coming from the start.

Victor: I’m sad to say you don’t see a lot of things.

Victoria: Well, then please, daddy, please. Enlighten me, because I’m– I’m always here to learn.

Victor: When I handed over the company to you and your brothers, I was hoping that you would create a united front, a united powerhouse. That didn’t happen, did it? Now, I have to step in and clean things up! Run the damn company again! Otherwise, you and your brother would be at each other’s throat! And Nikolas would leave the company once again!

Victoria: He’s already done that, dad. And it’s all your fault, not mine. Not even Adam’s. It’s all on you

**********************

Victor: You damn well know. You more than anyone else should know a company of this size is not run by consensus. It’s run by one person. And that person is me from now on.

Victoria: Then why even bother to keep me around? Or Nikolas, for that matter?

Victor: I don’t want to argue about this. It’s how it is, period!

Victoria: Not in my opinion.

Victor: Your opinion is irrelevant.

Victoria: Oh, thank you, daddy. You just proved my point.

Victor: Newman Enterprises is bigger than you or your damn feelings! You either accept this or you can leave.

Victoria: I disagree with you and you just want to throw me out of your kingdom.

Victor: That’s your choice.

Victoria: You know what, dad? If I left, everything would fall apart. Everything.

Victor: What the hell do you mean by that? What do you mean by that?

Billy: The only thing that creeps me out more than hearing his smart ass threats is not hearing his smart ass threats. It’s like we’re sitting here waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Jack: Well, he’s Tucker McCall, so it’s waiting for the other live grenade.

Billy: Exactly, which means we gotta make a move, Jack. ASAP.

Jack: Agreed.

****************

Diane: Well, I thought maybe you had a coffee date. I’m just trying to make polite conversation.

Phyllis: We just tolerate each other, okay? Let’s not pretend there’s anything else besides that. It really just gets on my nerves. Unless that’s what you’re trying to do, is get on my nerves, in which case, you have succeeded.

Diane: What I’m trying to do is establish some sort of civility between the two of us for Kyle and summer’s sake. I assume you’re as interested as I am in trying to get them back together since you’re the reason they’re headed for a divorce in the first place.

[ Phyllis clearing her throat ]

Phyllis: I think we’re both to blame for that.

Diane: Mm, I don’t think so. You know, I’m not the one who put summer in the position of having to lie to Kyle over and over and over again.

Phyllis: And, by the way, I just found out about this. Your son wasted, I don’t know, three minutes on thinking about what he should do before he jumped into bed with that Audra girl.

Diane: Oh, right, right. And the thought of meaningless sex as an escape from emotional pain is offensive to your deeply engrained moral standards?

Sharon: How’s it looking?

Mariah: Uh, really, really scary. The weather report has all of these crazy colors and I don’t really understand what any of it means, but it seems to spell impending doom.

Phyllis: Tucker. Alone, I see. And then you asked heather for a good attorney. So, that doesn’t spell good tidings for you and Ashley, does it?

Tucker: Are you going to offer me some comforting words?

Victor: I mean, don’t get me wrong, a desire to change and go on a new path, you know, I find that admirable.

Adam: But?

Victor: I know you. You try, and, for a while, it works, and then, your darker side emerges and whatever you’ve accomplished, you undo it.

Adam: Every other time, absolutely. But dad, not this time.

Victor: What’s different?

Adam: I have nothing left to lose. You always told me that I needed humility. Well, here I am, dad. I’m– I’m humbling myself before you right now. Just let me start at the bottom. I’ll do– I’ll do whatever it takes, and– and maybe somewhere along the way, I’ll turn into an actual human being and hopefully, I can start erasing some of the damage that I’ve caused.

Victor: Let me think about it, okay?

Adam: That’s all I can ask.

Victor: Okay. Son… if your intentions are sincere… I’m very impressed

*****************

Adam: You know, I wish for once that my father would realize or even care that real people are affected by his little corporate whims, but nope, it’s all just one big high-stakes chess game to him.

Sally: [ Clicks tongue ] Ooh.

Adam: What?

Sally: Just sounded a little bitter, maybe, even cynical. That’s something maybe the old Adam would say, not the new Adam. You know, the one we’re supposed to be celebrating?

Adam: Okay, well, you know, it is a process, but thank you for calling me out. What now?

Sally: This isn’t your first drink, is it? Had you already started celebrating this new era of Adam before I showed up?

Adam: I mean, sparingly, maybe. Why?

Sally: Well, just because I know how morose you can get whenever you’ve been drinking.

[ Adam sighs ] Have you eaten anything?

Adam: I have been– I’m very busy today. It’s a very busy day.

Sally: Yeah, well, I have been busy too. So busy that I actually forgot to eat all day, and now, my stomach is yelling at me.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

Alex. Theresa. Hi. Hey. Uh, listen, we need to talk. About what happened in Greece.

Hey, cuz. Have a seat. So this is the only item the ISA recovered from the wreckage of Victor’s plane. This is it. Hopefully this will give us some insight as to what Grandfather was doing right before he died. Why he went to Greece, why he destroyed the will. You haven’t opened it? No. Alex and I agreed that Maggie should be the one to do it.

Oh, out with the old, and in with the best.

Yes? Oh, send him in. Thank you.

Oh, Philip. Oh, Philip, my darling, thank you so much for coming. Phillip. What do you want, Vivian? Why’d you text me to come down here? Well, now that I’m, I’m running tight and I need a right hand man. Good for you. No, good for you. Because you’re my first and only choice for the position.

Sweet girl. You are just so perfect. Look at your little hands. You got Mama’s finger? Just hold on, Victoria. Never let go.

Sarah, Sarah, remember that birth thing class we did? Just, just visualize the pain and grab my hand and squeeze it as hard as you can. Sarah, Sarah,

remember that birth thing class we did? Just, just visualize the pain and grab my hand and squeeze it as hard as you can.

Hi. Thank you for making me a She’s beautiful. But her mom…

Hey. Xander. Are you okay? What is it?

Like sand through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives.

So Victor definitely met with this old friend in Greece. Yeah, yeah, his old friend Constantine, he had said the grandfather had just come from seeing Bo, and that something was weighing very heavily on him. Oh, that makes sense. But he thought it might be about something else, too. Like what? Did Victor say anything about his will?

Or why he destroyed it? No. He mentioned a letter. What letter? Constantine said that the letter was very important to him. Then I remembered that Kayla had told me about when Beau had held her captive at Grandfather’s old childhood home, that she had found a box containing a bunch of his letters. So I asked Constantine to take us to the old house.

And? We got there and I found the box. But it was empty. So at that point we thought that this trip was a big waste of time until Shane showed up at our hotel with this briefcase that he gave to Teresa. Teresa? What was she doing in Greece? That little stalker followed me there.

You want to talk about what happened in Greece. Between us? The sex? And I’m guessing this is your usual M. O.? I’m not sure what you mean. Right. Like you’ve never avoided someone the day after you slept with them. I mean, clearly you’re a pro at it, because we just took a, what, 13 hour flight back from Athens all the way to Chicago, and you didn’t so much as acknowledge my existence.

Teresa, I was not avoiding you. I was asleep. I was kind of worn out. Look, Alex, it’s okay. Alright? I get it. You don’t have to worry. Worry about what? Worry that you have to act like you’re going to hide from me whenever you see me. Because I think last night meant something. Okay, I don’t. And I know you only had sex with me because you felt sorry for me.

So I was just having a dream. Yeah, it seemed pretty intense. Well, it was actually. I bet. I know that you’ve been really upset about Victor and then everything that’s happened with Maggie. Oh, it wasn’t about Victor or Maggie. It was about Sarah. Oh. No, I was dreaming about her having the baby. It made me realize something.

Aww.

How is my precious granddaughter? She’s just sound asleep. Well, it looks like my precious daughter could use a little rest, too. Oh my gosh. You have no idea. I can’t wait to come back to the mansion and just crawl into a big old soft bed.

Wow. She’s gorgeous. She’s beautiful. I saw that. You saw what? That frown. When I mentioned coming home. What’s going on? Nothing. Mom. Translation. Sarah, darling, I don’t want to bother you with my problems. So, judging from the vibe I’m getting from you, it’s fairly serious. Spill. Sweetheart, you’ve been through such an ordeal.

I’m fine. But, please, I know that something’s wrong, so just tell me. Okay. Well, it’s a big problem. And her name is Vivian Allemane.

Why would you ever think I’d want to work for you? I carried you in my womb for nine months. So what? I owe you? No, of course not. It’s just. I felt so close to you. And if you take this job, I could feel that way again. Please, Philip, come back to Titan. You belong here.

Sorry, but my answer is a hard no. I’m not coming back to Titan. But it’s what your father would have wanted. Mmm, well, I don’t know about that. But I can tell you what he wouldn’t have wanted, what would have made him strangle the life out of you. And that’s knowing that you had Maggie ousted from this company and tossed out of her home.

So, you need to bring her back to Titan and give her back the mansion. Will you do that for me? And to honor my father’s memory? Yes, of course I will, Philip. When hell freezes over. Vivian’s

divorce from Victor was never finalized?

Which means that my marriage to Victor isn’t legal. So the house? The company, the entire fortune, everything goes to that miserable shrew. Oh my god! Mom, I’m so sorry. That can’t be what Victor wanted. Of course it isn’t. But don’t worry, I’m not giving up. In fact, we’ve already launched a counter offensive.

Meaning we’ve started information gathering. And the we is Brady and Alex. They’ve gone to Greece. To find out why Victor was there. And why he destroyed his will.

Theresa followed you to Greece. Yeah, she had said that Alex invited her to come along, which turned out to be a giant lie because he actually asked her not to come. She’s never been one to take no for an answer. Oh, God, tell me about it. You know, when she came back to town for Grandfather’s funeral, she insisted that we give our relationship another shot.

And you? I shot her down. And then she found out that Alex and I were going on this trip and she showed up at our hotel on the pretext that she was going to help us out. I was, I was furious with her. I was, I was hard on her. Well, why wouldn’t you be? You didn’t want her there. Both you and Alex told her not to come.

Exactly. Exactly. But when I leaned into her, she stopped throwing herself at me and, surprise, She started throwing herself at Alex. Oh, Alex. What the hell? Justin, you’re not surprised about it, are you? Well, I’m not surprised, but I’m a little concerned. I don’t want that woman getting her hooks into my son.

Theresa, why would I feel sorry for you? Because I was a total wreck after Brady insulted me. Calling me desperate and pathetic and, look, I was hurt and you comforted me and… And you think I took advantage of you? No, not at all. If anything, I took advantage of you.

So, what did this dream make you realize? Well,

when

I was in labor, I looked over and… You were holding her other hand. And I just… It told me something about you. What? Well, there I was, helping my ex wife at this very dangerous, emotional time, and my fiancé wasn’t jealous or upset, not in the least. You were just there for Sarah. Comforting her. God, that did impress the hell out of me.

Do you know what I saw? I saw you giving courage and strength to a woman who was scared out of her mind. I saw you put your history with her aside to make her feel safe when she was bringing her baby into the world. And that did impress the hell out of me. I’m just the luckiest man, aren’t I? I love you, Chloe.

I love you, too.

I gave in to temptation and used you to make myself feel better. You know, I don’t mind being used in that way. Yeah, well, still it wasn’t cool that I put myself between you and Brady. Oh, Brady was being a jerk. Yeah, and you were really kind to me, and I appreciate it. And the sex was great, even if it was pity sex.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, that was not pity sex. No, Alex, you don’t know how to do it. Oh, yes, I do, because I have to make myself very clear on this. And I know you were upset last night, so maybe you didn’t understand it all the way. But I’m going to tell you again, Teresa Donovan. You are a beautiful woman. And what happened between us is not because I felt sorry for you.

I happen to be incredibly attracted to you.

Look, if Alex wants to date Teresa, I’m not gonna stop him. I mean, I told him that she’s trouble and he’s gotta be really careful. I don’t like this. At all. Her using him to make you jealous. Him, most likely, letting her. He’s a big boy. I hope he knows what he’s doing. He’s just starting to turn his life around.

He’s in therapy, you know. Working to try and change his unhealthy patterns. Especially with women. No offense to the mother of your child, but getting involved with Teresa Donovan isn’t exactly healthy.

I know. In your twisted mind, you think of me as your son. But I’m not. We’re nothing to each other, Vivian. So, do me a favor. Never contact me again. Working here is one of the reasons I ended up in a mental institution. No job is worth that. I’m not offering you just a job. I’m offering you Chloe Lane.

Enough. If we keep at this, we will never finish planning our wedding. Can’t we do both? You know, I believe that we can mix planning and pleasure. Sander, Cook, are you saying that planning our wedding would not cause you extreme pleasure? How would I know? We haven’t even started yet. Exactly, which is why we’ve got to get to it ASAP.

Well, how’s this for a plan? Let’s get up, get dressed. And get married today.

Hello. Hey. Daddy’s here. Yeah, she is sound asleep. So, no reaction for you. Sorry. No offense taken whatsoever. Hi Maggie. Hi Rex. So what are the odds that the three most beautiful ladies in the world are all in the same room at the same time? And it works out perfectly because I have an idea that I want you all to hear.

Now lay it on us. I think that you and I should get married today.

You want to get married today? Well, you’re being discharged anyway. Why not? Well, for starters, we haven’t even planned a wedding. Well, what’s the plan? I mean, I could go to the square, go to the jewelers, buy some rings, and we could get married at the pub. And Maggie, you’re ordained, right? So you can officiate.

Or you don’t have to officiate. We can have somebody else do that, and you can be our witness. Mom? Why aren’t you saying anything? I’m holding my tongue. Well, don’t. We want to know what you think.

You both know that I’m committed to keeping the child’s fraternity a secret. Because that’s what my daughter asked me to do. But I’ve gone on the record. Saying that I don’t think it’s right. Xander is Victoria’s father. He has a right to know, Mom. Look, I’m not gonna say anything. But, as someone who was recently widowed, I’m reminded that marriage is sacred.

It’s the joining of two souls, and two hearts, and two lives. And not something you just throw together at the last minute. Maggie, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to… Wait! You asked me to preside over a sham wedding that you’re using to double down on a lie. Okay. I’m glad. Because my answer… Would be no.

Goodbye, sweet Victoria. I love you, and I love you.

Did you hear what I said? Yeah, and I’m not gonna dignify it with a response. Oh, then just listen. I know that Chloe Lane was the love of your life, and if you take this job, you have a chance to win her back. There’s just one snag. Chloe’s engaged to Xander Cook.

I’m serious. You’re serious? You want to get married today? Why wait? I don’t know. Don’t you want food, music, guests? All I want is you. I don’t have any friends, so who would I invite? Don’t you want Maggie there? Yeah, sure, I mean… But she’s just got so much going on right now. Yeah, I guess it’s true. Between the death of Victor and the birth of Victoria.

And the fight to keep that witch Vivian Alamein from taking everything that should be hers. Are

you sure you don’t want to be there when Maggie opens this? She didn’t get to say goodbye to her husband, Justin. And now Vivian Alamein has stolen everything that’s left over except for what’s in here, so… I think Maggie deserves to have this moment by herself. Yeah. Well, here’s hoping she gets some peace.

Thanks again, Brady, for your help here. Of course, you’re welcome. And don’t worry about Alex. I’m sure he has the Teresa situation under control.

I thought last night was hot. Did you not? Yeah. Yes. Yes I did, but I, I’m, I, I was a mess, and I’m, I’m really trying to not do that anymore. Do what anymore? Look, when I’m feeling bad, I try to avoid the pain, and I’ll do anything to avoid it, and that’s even if it hurts me, or, or someone else. So… Well, guess what?

I can relate to that. The endless pursuit of not feeling bad. Yeah? Yeah. Has that been a problem for you, too? Mmm, I didn’t used to think so. Until I moved to Salem and… Realized a lot about myself. Mainly that I need to make some changes. How’s it going for you? Pretty well, so far. But I still got a long way to go.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, me too, um, apparently. Especially after what happened last night, and, uh, that was just me trying to avoid the pain. And, uh, I guess what I’m trying to say is I would really like to have hot sex without being on this. Well, that is a very admirable goal, and I think you got that. Oh, yeah? Uh huh.

Definitely. Definitely. Just,

um. Take that. Hello? Theresa, can you come to the pub, please? It’s important. Yeah, yeah, I’ll be right there. Um, Brady wants to see me. Hmm. Do not let him talk to you the way he did last night. I won’t. And Alex, thanks. For what? For being there for me. And hey, uh, I know we’re back in Salem, maybe we could have that dinner, okay?

I would like that.

Look, if you called me over here to apologize for being a total asshat to me No, no, it has nothing to do with being an asshat or anything like that. This has to do with the fact that I got a call from Tate’s school. Is he okay? Apparently not. He’s been expelled. What? They tried to reach you. I didn’t get a call, Brady.

Did, did, did they try your landline? I don’t, I don’t, God, they’re idiots. Okay, let’s just focus on our son right now. Okay, fine. What happened? What did he do? I don’t know. The headmaster wouldn’t give me any details over the phone. God, this is insane. Tate’s never been in trouble before. You sure you have no idea what this could be about?

No! What? Brady, I’m as shocked as you are. Alright, then that does it. Alright, I’m, I’m, I’m booking a flight to California. I’m gonna go pick our son up. Okay, I’m coming with you. The hell you are.

Is it just me or was your mom not exactly thrilled with the idea of us getting married today. She’s just She’s just going through a lot. I know I know What she said that it didn’t change her mind at all. Did it? No, of course not Look, I I love my mom with all my heart And I respect her opinion, but in this case, I just don’t agree.

I don’t want to start a rift between you and your mom, though, Sarah. No, no, you won’t. And ultimately, we all want the same thing. For Victoria to grow up happy and safe. And in time, my mom will see that. Yeah. She was right about one thing. Marriage is a very big deal. And, look, I’m up for it. But if you’re not, you need more time.

It’s okay. No. I want the three of us to be a family. And I am sure of that. So, I don’t see any reason to wait.

I promise you that I am going to be A better father for your daughter than any other man could possibly be.

I know you will. That little angel has stolen my heart.

And I am still hopeful that I could win back yours.

I’m gonna go get those rings. I’ll be back. You know, I was thinking, all your friends hate me, and my family wants nothing to do with me, and your family doesn’t even live here. They are capable of traveling. Yeah, but why should they? I mean, this is also last minute, and I’m sure your mom and dad are busy.

It doesn’t seem fair to expect them to fly over, does it? I suppose. So, why don’t we take the wedding to them in New York? We could honeymoon there. Taking some Broadway shows, I could treat you to a spending spree in Fifth Avenue. Come on, let’s get up, get packed, get on a flight, and tie the knot in the Big Apple.

What do you say?

Sander Cook, please don’t tell me you are going to lose the love of your life to that. Neanderthal. It’s not up to me. Ugh. Please. Do you love the woman or not? Yes. I do. And a couple of years ago, I would have sold my soul to you or anyone else who’d help make her mine. I did some horrible things to that end.

Yes, like framing Brady for your murder. He deserved worse, but we’re getting all off track. I’m trying to talk to you about you and Chloe. There is no me and Chloe! What? There could be. Quid pro quo, darling. You give me what I want, and I will do everything I can to get her back.

So is it a yes? To nuptials in NYC? Matrimony in Manhattan? You know, if we tie the knot there, we can tie it anywhere. Okay, okay, I get the idea. But do you like the idea? I think it’s crazy and impulsive and I don’t know how it could be possible unless… Unless what? Unless I race right over to the square and buy myself a new dress.

Does that mean what I think

it means? It means yes to crazy, to impulsive, and yes to marrying you today.

You have a choice, you can either stay a timid little boy or grow up and be a man. Excuse me? Well, if Chloe is choosing Xander it’s because she doesn’t see an alternative. Become her superstar and show her that you can bring all of her dreams to her. We’re done here. You know that spiel you just gave me?

Straight out of Victor’s playbook. Butter me up! Reel me in with the promise of validation and respect. But my father didn’t respect me. He just wanted to control me. And I was so eager to please him, I jumped at the chance to do his dirty work. But you? You’re on your own. You’re making a big mistake. Ah!

Another of Victor’s tactics. Getting me to doubt myself. Make bad choices out of fear. Well, I’m not afraid anymore. And…

I’m not gonna let anyone else do a number on my head. I know, look. I know that you suffered. I know that it was very difficult for you in that psychiatric facility. But I’m sorry, my son. I’m not your son, dammit. And I’m not sorry, because I’m better now. You’re just as deranged as ever. My advice, get on the horn with one of the doctors over there, and if they have a vacancy, take it.

I don’t want you involved in this. Well, it’s not up to you Brady. I’m Tate’s mother. Well, Theresa, first you followed me to Greece, and now you want to wait, wait, hang on a second. Are you actually suggesting right now that I got our son expelled from school so that I could sit next to you on an airplane?

God. Okay, you know what, Brady? If you could just set your contempt aside for me for one second, maybe you’ll remember who’s been raising our son all these years as a single mother. Okay. You’re right. I’m sorry. You’re right. You are a good mom. You’ve always been a good mom. I’ve always said you were a good mom.

You’re also a good daughter. The fact that you took Tate to California to be with Kimberly when she got sick again, that was… It was admirable. Thank you. I appreciate that. Look, I was, I was harsh on you. The other night when you suggested you were going to come back to my room. I could have been nicer about the whole thing.

And I know the hotel was pricey. I’ll be happy to reimburse you, Teresa, for whatever it costs. You don’t have to do that. I figured something else out. And like you said, you know what? Let’s just focus on Tate.

Alexander. Thank you so much for coming. I got your text. What the hell do you want? Well, I’ll come right to the point. Now that I’m running Titan, I need a right hand man. And you know what? You’re my first and only choice for this position.

You sure this belonged to Victor? Shane confirmed it.

Have you looked inside? No. No one asked. We thought you should do it. I’ll step out and give you some privacy. No, Justin, don’t. I mean,

what if there’s something horrible in here? A secret that changes the way I remember. My husband. Maggie, if you don’t want to open it, you don’t have to. Now or ever.

Vivian Alomane is wreaking havoc with our family. Because Victor destroyed his will, and I have to know why he did that. So, if that means that the answer is in this briefcase, well then I’m gonna open

it. Okay. Alright.

Letters. We were looking for those. And this? What is this? What is this?

Ah.

Victor’s last will and testament. Look. Look, the date.

Now we know, with absolute certainty, that Victor destroyed his old will. And he created a new one. Ah!

You both know that I’m committed to keeping the child’s paternity a secret. Because that’s what my daughter asked me to do. But I’ve gone on the record, saying that I don’t think it’s right. Xander is Victoria’s father, and he has a right to know.

Oh, what’s a hurry, brother? Oh, hey, uh, Sarah and I are getting married. Wow. I also heard you two had a baby. Yes, little girl. Her name is Victoria. That’s great, man. Congrats on all of it. Thank you. Thank you, Phil. Have you shared any of your good news with our mother? Uh, not yet. Why not? Well… Because I feel guilty lying to her.

Lying? About what?

I’m not really the baby’s father.

What do you mean? Victoria’s not my daughter.

Xander is Victoria’s father.

Diane: Kyle, hey.

Kyle: Hey, mom. Sorry, I got to go. I’ll see you later.

Diane: Where are you off to in such a hurry?

Kyle: Uh, newman media.

Diane: Did you forget your suits at the dry cleaners?

Kyle: Well, I, uh… I have to clear out my office.

Diane: Why? Did you quit your job?

Kyle: No, mom, I didn’t quit. Nikki terminated my contract.

Diane: What? Why would she do that?

Kyle: Feel free to call and ask her.

Diane: Well, I know you were doing great work at newman. So, if– if this is about the breakup with summer, then why did nikki wait so long?

Kyle: Can we do this later or not at all?

Diane: It’s that audra charles, isn’t it? Your fling with her cost you your job.

Tucker: Audra charles. Just who I was looking for.

Audra: Hi.

Tucker: Hi. You got a minute?

Audra: Actually, I can give you five. What’s up?

Tucker: I’ve been thinking about our last conversation.

[ Audra chuckles ]

Audra: I can’t believe I actually have to say this but, um, uh, just to clarify, that was a spontaneous, energetic, enjoyable, um, hour between two old friends, okay? It wasn’t an invitation to… revisit anything and– and I’m sorry if I gave you that impression.

Tucker: I don’t believe that for a second. Anyway, it’s not what I was referring to.

Audra: Then what, tucker?

Tucker: Just been thinking about you… on a much more karmic level.

Audra: Oh. I’m almost intrigued.

Tucker: No, I think you’re more than that.

Phyllis: Hey, jack. Hi. Pretty day today. Right? How are you doing? Uh, nothing? Really?

Jack: I have no interest in making small talk with you or any talk really.

Phyllis: Okay. All right. So, this is how it’s going to be? We can’t get past this?

Jack: No, this is how it’s going to be. We are miles past any hope of reconciliation, phyllis. I feel no need to be polite or civil. I am not at all interested in soothing your guilt or bolstering your pretense of setting things right. We had one thing left between us and that was that my son was married to your daughter and you somehow managed to obliterate that as well, leaving us nothing.

Billy: Thought I might run into you here.

Adam: It’s as if you’re psychic. What do you want?

Billy: May I join you?

Adam: No.

Billy: Heard you lost your job again.

Adam: Mm-hmm. And?

Billy: Well, I sympathize. I mean, needless to say, I know how that goes.

Adam: Mm-hmm. Well, your compassion means the world to me, billy, it really does, but what do you want?

Billy: Help. Maybe.

Adam: Okay. [ Laughs ] Now, that I can believe.

Billy: Mm.

Adam: Go ahead.

Billy: Wanted to touch base with you. You, uh, claimed to have information, damaging information on tucker mccall.

Adam: Ooh. I did. And I do.

Billy: You also claim that you’d be willing to share that information for the right price.

Adam: Yeah, that’s also true.

Billy: Well, now that you’ve lost your job for, like, the 18th time, I’m wondering if you have an idea of what that price might be?

Adam: Hm.

[ Adam sighs ] Listen, your deodorant just has to work.

Announcer: Additional sponsorship provided by…

Phyllis: Okay, jack, I– I get it. You have nothing to say to me. You know, I– I do have something to say to you, however, um, if you give me just one minute.

Jack: Fine. One minute.

Phyllis: Okay. [ Laughs ] Uh, I understand what you’re saying, okay? And, uh, I know– I know I screwed up. More than screwed up. Um, but I’m trying really hard to change, you know. I– I’m– oh, you don’t even know. I mean, I’m trying really, really hard.

Jack: Seems to me that’s the least you can do.

Phyllis: Of course it is. It’s the least I could do. Um…

Jack: Look, I don’t wish you ill. For summer and daniel’s sake, I hope you’re able to turn things around, but frankly, I don’t see any signs of all this trying you’re talking about.

Phyllis: Okay, well, it’s not going to happen overnight. You know, there’s a lot to do, but I’m going to do it. I’m going to make it happen. You’ll see.

Jack: Yeah, I guess we will see. Either way, you should know it doesn’t change anything for me. I said goodbye to you at your memorial service. As far as I’m concerned, you’re still dead.

Phyllis: Hey.

Daniel: Hey.

Phyllis: Did you hear any of that?

Daniel: Oh, that was pretty rough.

Phyllis: Yeah, it was.

Daniel: Yeah. You know, I kind of wish that I could march right up to him and say, “how dare you speak to my mother like that?” But, um– but you kind of had it coming from him. And let’s be honest, you and I both know that a lot of other people in this town feel the same way.

Phyllis: Okay. I know a lot of people feel the same way and I know I earned that. I get it.

Daniel: It’s not going to be easy going back to the way things work. Are you ready for that?

Phyllis: I don’t know. I don’t know if I am. I keep on thinking I’m– I’m tough, I can handle it, but it hurts my feelings.

Daniel: You know what you need? You need something positive, something positive and productive to focus on. What’s going on with that job with nick and sharon? Is it– is that happening or what?

Phyllis: There was some shakeup at newman and I’m collateral damage.

Daniel: Well, you just can’t catch a break, can you? Wonder why that is.

Kyle: Mom–

Diane: Kyle, have a seat.

Kyle: Um, I–

Diane: Sit.

[ Kyle sighs ]

Kyle: I really don’t want to get into this right now. It doesn’t matter why i no longer work at newman media. It is done. It is over, end of story.

Diane: All right, I won’t push and whatever the reason, I– I am sorry that it didn’t work out. I know you were excited about it. So, what now?

Kyle: I don’t know. I haven’t figured it out. It’s not like I need to get back to work right this second. So, maybe I’ll kick back, enjoy a life of leisure. Heck, come to think of it, harrison thought the beach and the palm trees were pretty cool.

Diane: Oh, what? So, you’re just going to take your son and move to some beach and start a new life?

Kyle: Well, mom, it doesn’t sound too bad.

Diane: Kyle, that would just be another attempt at hiding from your pain. Look, I know you. You’re not a work on your tan, go with the flow kind of guy. You need direction, purpose, a– a career with a future.

Kyle: Yeah, which I’ve had several times and at some point, I will have one again when the right opportunity comes along, but for now, it doesn’t matter.

Diane: Well, has it occurred to you that the right opportunity might be coming back to jabot?

Kyle: Hardly.

Diane: Just think about it. I would love it. Your father would love it.

Kyle: Yeah, I’m sure you would. And I know dad would love sticking me in some low-level, teach-me-a-lesson position while telling himself he’s being a great father for helping me grow.

Diane: That’s really unfair.

Kyle: I told dad I would consider coming back to jabot on one condition.

Diane: I know.

Kyle: That I replace billy as co-ceo. Otherwise, no thanks.

Diane: Well, then if I were you, I wouldn’t start packing for the tropics just yet.

Tucker: Regarding your comment about possibly jumping ship from newman media to joining me at jabot once I take it away from jack and billy.

Audra: I– I– I don’t recall saying anything about jumping ship.

Tucker: Yeah, you did.

Audra: I do recall talking about keeping my options open.

Tucker: Yeah.

Audra: You know, with all the chaos that’s going on at newman these days.

Tucker: Anyway, how confident are you in your future there?

Audra: Well, nikki doesn’t fill me with much of it.

Tucker: Yeah. Your boss thinks you’re a manipulative opportunist.

Audra: A smart, talented manipulative opportunist, thank you very much. And yet, you know, uh, nikki may decide any minute that… I’m of no further use to her or her company, but until then I have no reason to walk away. I like my job so far.

Tucker: Okay. Your life, your loss.

Audra: On the other hand…

Tucker: Ah, the other hand.

Audra: If something were to happen and if this little plan of yours to take over jabot works out… what exactly do you see me doing? I’m jonathan lawson

Tucker: I haven’t come up with any specific job titles yet, but you can be assured it would be something high powered, prestigious.

Audra: Working under you, I assume.

Tucker: No. Not really interested in running jabot. Maybe as an advisor or something, but… and this whole takeover is really about nothing but yanking it away from jack abbott.

Audra: A purely vindictive move.

Tucker: 100%. I want to punish the abbotts. I want to just… want to hit them where it hurts. As far as I’m concerned, they shattered any chance I had with ashley, any future.

Audra: Look, as always, I give you an a plus for creativity, but your ability to pull this off? I mean, not so much. Don’t you think they suspect that you’re coming and are gearing up for it?

Tucker: They absolutely do. They’ve essentially told me so.

Audra: And that doesn’t worry you?

Tucker: I have a secret weapon.

Audra: What’s that?

Tucker: Not a what, a who. Billy abbott.

Adam: To tell you the truth, billy, I’m, um– I’m having second thoughts about getting into this or any kind of questionable activity with you.

Billy: Because of your uncompromising moral or your professional ethics?

Adam: No, because I have turned a major personal corner. Okay? I’m going modest for a change and I’m going to start at newman from the bottom and I’m going to work my way up because I’m determined to prove to my father and my family that I’m willing to, um, what’s that saying? Work the soil before you harvest the fruit.

[ Billy laughs ]

Billy: That’s good, adam. That’s really good. [ Laughs ] Uh, don’t tell me victor actually bought that. Come on. From one chronic screw-up to another, that’s never going to happen.

Adam: Yeah? Well, you never know.

Billy: Yeah, no, I do know. You’re adam newman, okay? No matter how hard you try to change, you’re still going to be adam newman. So, why don’t you quit the posturing? Tell me what your price is and we can move on.

Phyllis: No, daniel, I can’t catch a break, that’s for sure. And I’m tired of this. The people in this town have done horrific things. I’m tired of defending myself to people who don’t believe in me and don’t believe that I can get better and change. I mean, what the hell do I have to do?

Daniel: I think, you know, part of the problem is people have all heard this from you before. Some of them have been hearing it for decades. And let’s be honest, you faking your own death, that kind of ruined your credibility. Now, believing in you is a little–

Phyllis: Okay. Okay. Well, if I had to do it over again, it wouldn’t go that way. If I could take it back, I would, but I can’T.

Daniel: Well, then do something about it. Prove to everyone you mean business this time.

Phyllis: Well, that’s really difficult when I keep on losing one job after the other. You know what I mean? And then, the insurance company is hounding me to pay back the money that jeremy stark stole when I died.

Daniel: You have no idea where he hid it or the savings he stole from you?

Phyllis: No, I have no idea. Trust me. I’ve been trying to find it with no luck. And then, you know what? Sometimes, I’ll leave my room and I’ll walk around town and people stare at me like the town pariah. I’m just waiting for the next verbal gut punch, you know what I mean? Maybe jeremy stark was right.

Daniel: Oh, god.

Phyllis: No, maybe I should have just left town and started anew, you know? Where nobody knows me.

Daniel: Yeah. That’s a great idea, mom. What, are you going to leave me and summer again? You going to die again this time or just disappear?

Phyllis: Well, I don’t know. Maybe you’d be better off.

Daniel: No, we wouldn’t– no, we wouldn’T. And neither would you. You know that.

Phyllis: Really? I mean, maybe it’d be better–

Daniel: Okay, no, no, no, no. We’re not going to sit here. We’re not going to have a little pity party. You’re staying here, you’re not going anywhere. For one, you’ve already put me and summer through that. We’re not dealing with it again. And two… [ Sighs ] …How can you bail out when you’ve got this brand new job that you’re about to start?

Phyllis: What are you talking about?

Daniel: Come work with me at omegasphere. Inez, let me ask you,

Phyllis: Daniel. Daniel. Are you offering me a job?

Daniel: I am and it’s nothing top level, but it’s something worthwhile and stimulating and it’ll be an honest paycheck. And look, it’ll give you something other to focus on than your problems.

Phyllis: You don’t owe me favors, daniel.

Daniel: Oh, [Indistinct]. Trust me. I’m not doing you any favors. You are more than talented enough to be great at what I found for you to do.

Phyllis: Oh. I mean, I have many talents.

Daniel: You do. Yes.

Phyllis: Yeah.

Daniel: I am aware. I am aware. I’m going to be watching you like a hawk. You’re not going to get any preferential treatment because you’re my mother. You need to be reliable. You need to work long hard hours and I don’t want to hear any excuses or any complaining or any whining. Just– just prove to me and everyone else that, you know, you can walk this walk. And then, once you start drawing a salary, I figure you can work out a payment plan with the insurance company. So, that’s my pitch. What do you say?

Phyllis: I’m gonna work for this. I’m gonna raise the money on–

[ Tucker laughing ] I’m gonna do this legitimately.

Tucker: Legitimately. That’s good. That should only take you, what, 10 years?

Phyllis: I– I say I appreciate you so much. Thank you so much for this opportunity. You don’t even know how much it means to me. I– I’m gonna have to think about it.

Daniel: Oh. Of course. Yeah. No, think about it. Right.

[ Daniel scoffs ] Maybe, you should also think about when you’re gonna stop getting in your own way.

Kyle: So, there’s a chance billy may be leaving jabot?

Diane: You know, I really shouldn’t have said anything.

Jack: Hey! Casual dress day at newman media?

Kyle: You want to tell him or should I?

Diane: No, it’s your news. Not mine.

Jack: Wait, tell me what? What’s going on?

Kyle: I no longer work at newman media and nikki let me go.

Jack: Kyle, I’m sorry to hear that. What happened?

Diane: Uh, I already asked him and he doesn’t want to talk about it.

Kyle: Can we just leave it at “it didn’t work out”?

Jack: Okay.

Kyle: Okay, it’s over, and I’m fine, and I just need to go back to clear out my office.

Jack: You know what? If you’re okay, I’m okay. I’m just a little surprised nikki didn’t–

Kyle: Dad.

Jack: You’re right, let’s just stop, and no need to go over any of the details if you’re not comfortable talking about it. I– I would like to ask one more question, and that’ll be it, just one.

[ Kyle sighs ]

Kyle: Sure. Go ahead.

Jack: Does this mean you’re ready to come back to the family business where you belong?

Kyle: That depends.

Jack: On?

Kyle: Are you ready to reinstate me as co-ceo or are you going to keep ignoring billy’s talent for screwing up every time he turns around.

Adam: Name my price, huh? Billy, I have to think about it.

Billy: Let me remind you that you’re the one that brought this to me a few weeks ago, okay? You– you told me to let you know if I wanted to work something out. Now, I’m sitting here trying to work something out with you and you’re being coy.

Adam: Listen, why don’t you just calm down, okay? Things have changed since the last time we talked about this. I’m in a different place. I have a different mindset.

Billy: I’m not buying any of that. Nothing you say about that matter. You’ve changed, my ass. If you do have any information on tucker, if that exists… it’s not worth the headache you’re giving me.

Tucker: Yo, yo, yo. You’re leaving, I thought we were meeting, you texted me.

Billy: Must have been somebody else.

Tucker: Hm. Sometimes, the lows of bipolar depression

Announcer: The young and the restless will continue. Kayaking is my thing.

Jack: I am sorry things didn’t work out for you at newman media, kyle. I– I mean that, but I am selfishly thrilled at the idea that you might be coming back to jabot.

Kyle: So, it is a possibility. I could replace billy.

Jack: Well, not immediately. Things haven’t reached that conclusion yet.

Kyle: Then, we shouldn’t be having this conversation, should we? So, if you excuse me, I have an office to clear out.

Diane: Bye.

Kyle: Bye.

Jack: Well, we have ourselves one stubborn son.

Diane: Hm, I wonder where he gets it from.

Jack: He also seems to have lost his sense of patience.

Diane: Well, I might have given him reason to hope.

Jack: What do you mean?

Diane: You said earlier that you’re ready to consider letting billy go. What’s there left to think about? If billy leaves, kyle comes back, we get to work with our son again, so what is there really left to consider?

Audra: Um, hello, billy.

Billy: Oh, let’s skip all that and go straight to the good stuff, huh?

[ Audra chuckles ] What’s tucker up to?

Audra: I have no idea.

Billy: I don’t believe you.

Audra: Um, why would tucker loop me into his business?

Billy: Because you guys have worked very closely together for a very long time and you remained friends, let’s say, and I have no doubt that he still confides in you, and now, that his relationship with ashley’s blowing up, he’s back in genoa city, he’s got an agenda, and I need to know what that is.

Audra: You know, you’re probably right. I wouldn’t put it past him, but it has nothing to do with me.

Billy: It might. If you don’t be careful.

Audra: [ Chuckles ] Okay, I– I don’t see how.

Billy: Okay, well, I’m gonna give you a little piece of advice just so I can say that I did so. [ Sighs ] If I am correct and this conflict with tucker does boil over, you should do everything you can to protect yourself. Stay on the right side of this.

Audra: Well, billy, I wouldn’t be where I am today if I didn’t always stay on the right side of everything, but thank you so much for caring.

Tucker: Adam.

Adam: Oh, welcome home. I, uh, haven’t had a chance to chat with you since you got back from paris. How was, uh, the honeymoon?

Tucker: Have you ever been told that you overplay your sarcasm? I always think that subtlety is the better choice.

Adam: Well, thank you for the coaching. Have a great day.

Tucker: Where are you going? Please, please, please.

Adam: Is– is there something you wanted?

Tucker: Always. Did I sense some tension just now, between you and billy?

Adam: [ Laughs ] It’s just, uh, par for the course. The permanent condition. We will, uh, never be able to peacefully coexist.

Tucker: Hm, somehow, it seemed more specific than that.

Adam: Well, you know billy. Uh, subtlety is not really his forte. What is it to you, though? If you don’t mind me asking. Let me guess, you’re back. Ashley’s not. He did mention there was a disintegration with your marriage, so let me guess. You’re pissed off. And now, you’re planning to go after them, aren’t you? boring. Kyle: That took a while. You and nikki must had a lot to talk about.

Audra: She knows, kyle.

Kyle: What? About us? How is that possible? We’ve been so careful.

Audra: Well, not careful enough for nikki to trust us. More specifically, to trust you. When she saw us earlier together, she put two and two together, and figured out that we’ve been… [ Clears throat ] …Seeing each other in spite of her telling us not to. Yeah, and– and she believes that as long as we keep working together, this attraction and desire won’t go away. At least, not on your part.

Kyle: Okay, how could she tell this, exactly?

Audra: She said she could see it in your eyes.

Kyle: [ Scoffs ] Come on. Really?

Audra: I’m just telling you what she told me.

Kyle: Well, I’m not gonna deny, I’m attracted to you and I have the desire to kiss you every time I’m around–

Audra: Kyle, just– no. Okay? Just–

Kyle: Why are you acting this way?

Audra: Because we can’t keep doing this, just– haven’t you been listening?

Kyle: Okay, I get it. I’ll keep my business face on when we’re at the office and we’ll be more careful when we’re in public.

Audra: It’s too late for that.

Kyle: What do you mean, “it’s too late”? I’ll calm nikki down.

Audra: She told me to fire you, kyle.

Kyle: What?

Audra: Look, I– I tried to change her mind, um, I– I fought for you, okay? But her mind was already made up.

Kyle: Because of a look in my eye? Are you kidding me?

Audra: It doesn’t matter why, okay? I just– it’s over… on all counts, okay? I’m– I’m sorry.

Kyle: Excuse me.

Audra: Well, uh, hello.

Kyle: I was at newman picking up my stuff and I ran to your assistant. She said you were having lunch at the gcac alone, so you could catch up on emails.

Audra: Yeah, she’s right. Um, so how are you doing?

Kyle: About how you’d expect. I’m okay. No, you know what? Um, make that better than okay. I’m good. Onward and upward and all of that, um… can I sit down or would that jeopardize your job?

Audra: By all means, um, apparently, we– we should talk. So, tell me, do you blame me for what happened?

Tucker: You and i are dear friends, are we not? I see you, look at you. I see your plight.

[ Laughs ] Yes, and I’m offering my assistance. You know what I’m gonna do? I’m gonna tack on 10% just for you trouble. That’s $2.2 million.

Phyllis: I know how much it is. No. Who am I kidding? I have no choice. I have to do this. I have to do this. [ Sighs ] But after this, never again. Never again. I swear, never again. I swear to god, after this, I’m done.

Adam: Look, I have no stones to throw when it comes to failed relationships, but I have to say, I mean, that was the shortest honeymoon in the history of honeymoons. I mean, what happened? I know you had a lot riding on this marriage with ashley, personally and professionally. So, where– where do you go from here?

Tucker: Adam, why would i share anything about my personal life with a man who blackmailed me?

Adam: Look, I– technically, I blackmailed audra. I mean, granted, what I dug up was damaging to both of you, but just so you know, I– I don’t have any animosity towards you, I just– I don’t trust you.

Tucker: Look at that. In that case, we have something in common. And if you’re worried about me for some reason, don’t be. I don’t have any animosity towards you either, I just couldn’t care less about you or your family, or newman enterprises for that matter. I gotta go. Uh, I’m sure you’ve enjoyed our time as much as I have.

Adam: I sure have.

Tucker: See? Subtle.

[ Tucker laughs ]

Adam: See you.

Tucker: See you. My a1c was up here; now, it’s down with rybelsus.

Kyle: No, audra, I don’t blame you for firing me. That’s what nikki ordered you to do. What choice did you have?

Audra: None at all. And what’s with this sudden edge I’m hearing in your voice?

But if you dig deep, and take a long, hard, honest look, I think you’ll discover that you miss her and you still love her much more than you’re willing to admit.

Phyllis: Hi, billy.

Billy: Hey.

Phyllis: Hey. Yeah.

Tucker: How are you doing? Hey, phyllis.

Tucker: Billy didn’t see you follow me up here?

Phyllis: Uh, oh, yeah, I made sure he saw me, ’cause I’m that stupid.

Tucker: Geez, what is it with all the sarcasm today?

Phyllis: Um, let’s just do this, please. I just want to do this. You know, I waited in the bar until billy left.

Tucker: Great. So, you’re ready to get me access to his financials?

Phyllis: Yeah, but first, you transfer a million into my account.

Announcer: Next week on the young and the restless…

Adam: Well, the gang is all here. So, what’s the big mystery?

Victor: From now on, you will be nate’s assistant.

Mamie: I’m glad that we’ve had this time together, but truth be told, this reunion is not really the only reason why I’m in town.

Traci: Oh, no?

Mamie: There is a matter of some importance that’s brought me here.

Adam: I hate that I put you in an awkward position, but I would be lying if I said I’m sorry that I kissed you. I can’t stop thinking about it.

Danny: You look like you just lost your best friend.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

[ Siren wailing in distance ]

[ Indistinct conversations ]

[ Portia chuckles ] Oh! Well, hello there. What’s going on? I didn’t expect to see you here. I was actually just about to head home. Yeah. Um, I had a follow-up appointment, and so I thought I would come in a little early and see if I can catch you. Well, consider me caught.

[ Laughs ] Well, what can I do for you? Oh, no. Is it that bad? No, um, but it is important. It’s about our daughter.

[ Mutters indistinctly ] Much better.

[ Knock on door ] I’m busy. Go away.

[ Knocking continues ] Go away! Too busy for your boyfriend? Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay! Yes, spencer, I’m even too busy for you. Mom. Hey. Well, hello, dr. Ashford. What are you — what are you — what are you doing here? My neighbor had surgery, so I thought I’d stop by and visit her. Well, that’s nice of you. Although I wouldn’t expect any less from my amazing mother. Oh, someone’s in a good mood. I am so pumped! Dr. Chang asked me to assist him in surgery this morning. I’m guessing that’s a big deal…? You have no idea. He is the best in his field. And there I was, right by his side. He even asked me to join him in his next surgery. Oh, honey, that’s great. I am so proud of you. Thanks, mom. Now I need to do even more research because I have to be at the top of my game for the next surgery. Ah, okay. Well, luckily, you have time to study now. When a baby comes into the picture, things are going to change. Molly: We’ll have to set up a meeting with da scorpio. Oh, molly! Hi. Oh, I’m sorry. Am I interrupting? Oh, hi, mom. Hi. I’ll call you when I’m back in the office. I knew you were in court today, so I wanted to stop by and see how you did. Did you win? No. The judge sided with the defendant, which means da scorpio is going to want to hear a play-by-play of what went wrong. Nothing went wrong. You’re perfect. I’m sure it was the judge — bias. Look what happened to drew.

[ Cellphone rings ]

[ Suspenseful music plays ] Hey, andrea. I’m kind of in the middle of something — why do you need to see me right away? Okay. There you are. Let me get you some menus. Here you go. And I’ll be back in a couple minutes.

[ Cellphone rings ] Hey, I just got to charlie’S. Don’t worry. Not a problem. I’ll just answer some emails on my phone. I’ll see you when you get here. Hey, you can go ahead and take a seat, and I will be with — oh, my god. Blaze.

[ Chuckles ] Thank you for coming back to my house with me. I go where you need me. Ah, okay. Well, I didn’t want to have this conversation in public. You know, the last thing we need is anyone hearing what we’re saying. Absolutely. We need to be discreet. You said you have some information on the judge. And most importantly, is it enough to get drew out of pentonville?

[ Suspenseful music plays ]

Yeah, I’m in the courthouse. Okay, that works. I’ll wait for you here, andrea. Thanks. Is there a problem? I’m not sure. That was andrea. She was having breakfast next door, and she wants to see me in person. Did she say what it was about? No. Which means it’s bad news, right? No — because if it was good news, she would have just told me what it was. We don’t know that. She didn’t sound happy. She seemed nervous. Just relax. She’ll be here any second. In the meantime, do you want me to wait with you? Do you have time? I always have time for you. Thanks. Let’s sit down. Are you sure you don’t need to get to the invader? I’m sure! I will just text gregory and tell him that I’m going to be a little late this morning. You sure have been spending a lot of time with him. Did you and diane have an argument about something? The only thing diane and i argue about is exercise. Am I not allowed to have more than one friend? Ah! There. I’m available for you for the rest of the morning. Please tell gregory “thank you” for me. I certainly will. You know, he was a great hire, I have to admit. And for a stuffy professor, he’s actually a lot of fun. He’s got great stories. I’m happy to hear that. Because I really like him. I’m so glad he gave up teaching to work with you. And I hope he sticks around a long time. Sorry. Have we met before? Do I know you? Yes — no. Uh, n-no. You don’t know me. I know you. I-I love your music. Thank you. My god, your latest single is — is amazing. It’s on, like, all of my playlists all the time. My — my cooking playlist, my running playlist, my productivity playlist, my… my fangirl moment is going to come to an end now. Um, can I get you a table or…? I’m meeting someone here, but they’re running late. Oh. I think I’ll just wait at the bar. Great. Uh, right this way. Okay. First round is on me. Uh, I insist. So, what can I get you? Bloody mary? Mimosa? Just some sparkling water. I’m here for a business meeting. Great. Sure. I’m working on my essayfor my art seminar. Okay? I’ll talk to you in a couple of hours. Hey, aren’t you the person who said that your goal this year is to have more of a work-life balance with pcu? Yeah, I did say that. Oh! Okay, good! So your essay really can wait, can’t it? Not if I want it to be good — and I do. Trina, you just started your junior year at pcu. This essay, if I had to guess — you probably have two more weeks for this, at least. Oh! Am I right? Okay, then I’ll take you up on that bet, because you would lose in a heartbeat. It’s due on tuesday. Oh, tuesday! So, in other words, you have plenty of time for a little bit of fun. Mm. So, go ahead and tell me. What’s going on with our daughter? Okay, well, uh… when we were playing video games last night — yeah, when you said that I “wasn’t very good at it.” Oh, babe, it’s — it’s not… I-I don’t think you’ve figured out the buttons just yet. Yeah, but you could teach me. I want to be down with you guys. It’s like a family affair. Of course.

[ Laughs ] I think we’re getting a little off topic. Okay, while we were playing video games — uh-huh. …Trina told me that, uh… she was planning a trip. I wonder if she had mentioned that to you. No, she hasn’t, but I’m certainly not surprised. I mean, she’s been pretty busy — moving back into the dorm, working part time at the gallery, and plus that huge class schedule she still has. I’m sure she just hasn’t told me yet. So, where’s she going? Another art gallery, probably. Oh, no, it’s not work or school related. She’s taking a trip to manhattan. Oh. With spencer. As you know, I just had breakfast with robert scorpio. Yeah, you told me he had some insight as to why the judge gave drew such a ridiculous sentence. Because robert told me that judge kim has career aspirations well beyond his current seat on the bench. Like what?

[ Chuckles ] Like the 2nd circuit court of appeals. Okay… the 2nd circuit court could be a huge stepping stone to the supreme court. For that, you need an impressive judicial record, friends in the justice department. Okay, I get all that. What does this have to do with drew?

[ Suspenseful music plays ]

[ Grunting ]

[ Shouting ]

Andrea. Molly. What’s going on?

[ Grunting ]

[ Blows landing ] Judge kim appears to be — could be — paving the way for the justice department to offer you a deal. You’re not saying…? Of course I’m saying. It’s a broken record. Judge kim hands drew an overly harsh sentence. The feds are well aware that you’re frantic to get drew out of pentonville. That’s their leverage. So they offer to release him from prison in exchange for — in exchange for information on sonny. There you go. Trina and spencer are going to new york city? Yeah, look, I don’t want to betray her trust, but that’s what she told me. And I kind of got the feeling she expected I would tell you. When is this happening? For how long? This weekend. A couple of days. Um, that’s the way I understand it. Okay. Look, I know, uh, spencer is a tricky subject for you and trina, and I-I’m sorry if I upset you. Hey, trina’s a junior in college. If she wants to go away for the weekend, she has every right to. And, um, she certainly doesn’t have to tell her mother about it in advance. Okay. That’s, um… that’s not how I expected you’d react.

[ Chuckles tightly ] Are you really as calm about this as you seem? Oh, can I get you a refill? Uh, sure. Okay, so, listen, I know that this is totally none of my business, so feel free to say so. But, uh, does this meeting that you’re having here perhaps have anything to do with your next album? No. I’m looking for new management because my last manager was a total creep. Thank god that’s over. Oh, yeah. I remember how that whole thing blew up at the nurses’ ball. Yeah, well, I’m sure everyone wants to sign you, though, right? They do. But after linc, I realize that I need more control over my career. It’s hard to find people with vision. Most just want you to churn out the same songs year after year. The old “shut up and sing.” They don’t want to hear that I play four instruments and write as well. Wow. I have a voice. And it’s my fault I stayed with linc for as long as I did, because he wouldn’t listen to it. I won’t make that mistake again. I am fully prepared for our lives to change if and when a baby comes along. And I understand that I may not be able to devote as much time to medicine, and that’s not a problem. Everything will take a back seat to the baby. I shouldn’t even be talking like this. We don’t know if the ivf was successful. Well, how long before you find out if it worked? Andrea should know in a few days. But molly and I, we want to give her space. We’re trying to resist the urge to text her every morning, asking if she’s pregnant. Yeah. Well, I know it can’t be easy waiting. It’s not. Molly’s had so much disappointment since we started trying to have a baby. I just… I don’t want to get her hopes up. It might not happen this time. But it could. Andrea, before you tell me why you needed to see me, I feel like I need to say something first. Okay. This whole surrogate experience, I know it’s been hard on me and hard on tj, but I’ve also tried to put myself in your shoes. You must feel so much responsibility to make this happen for us, and I just want you to know if — if you have bad news, like it didn’t take — molly — …and you’ve decided you don’t want to be our surrogate anymore, I completely understand. Molly, please stop — I know you’re in a very difficult — my daughter is just so smart, sometimes she just overthinks things. I’m not here with bad news. Just the opposite, in fact. I’m pregnant. Really?! I mean, we should have dr. Navarro confirm, but the — the home test says I’m pregnant.

[ Gasps ]

[ Laughing ]

[ Blows landing ] Inmate big joey: Okay. Enough! The job’s done.

[ Dramatic music plays ] Am I thrilled that trina is going to manhattan for the weekend with spencer?

[ Chuckles ] Yeah, of course not. But what am i supposed to do? March over to her dorm and forbid her to go? Well, I know how much you don’t trust spencer, so the idea did occur to me. Yeah, well, trust me, if I thought for a second that that would work, I’d be at her dorm in a heartbeat. But I know better. I’ve learned by now that you can’t pressure our daughter. I learned the hard way. And she’s a lot like you in that way. And you’re not stubborn at all.

[ Chuckles ] Okay, she inherited her strength from both of her parents.

[ Sighs ] Well, uh, I probably should get to my checkup, so… we’ll talk tonight. Okay.

[ Chuckles ] Mm. Spencer, stop. What? What’s the matter? No, no — are my lips chapped?

[ Laughs ] What’s wrong? Come on. You’re not having fun? No, no, that’s not the point. You’re distracting me. I-I need to finish this paper before we go to the city. I know. And you’re just, like, totally distracting me right now. Totally distra– I know, it’s so hard. But, hey, look, it’s going to be okay. I know that you’re such a perfectionist. I know that you’ve got to get things done and you’re such a good student, but we’re going to be back from our trip on monday, and then you’re going to be able to turn in your paper on tuesday. Look, trina, I admire how smart you are. This all looks very impressive. I’m sure that you did double the amount of research that you probably needed to for this paper. But, hey, you’re going to have time to finish this when we get back from our trip. Let’s go! Okay, yeah, you’re — you’re probably right. Yeah, I am right. But I-I need to finish the paper before we go! Trina robinson! Listen, if I don’t finish this, right — if I don’t finish this paper before we go, I’ll be thinking about it all weekend. And I-I want this weekend to be about us. The only thing I want to be thinking about is you and me and… us being together. Do you really think it could happen? I’ve been trying not to let myself go there. I keep thinking that I’ll somehow jinx it. But what if it worked, and andrea really is pregnant? Then that will be the best news in the world. Wow. Well, that m– that means in nine months, baby ashford-davis could be here. What if we’re not ready? Or if we — we don’t know what we’re doing? Tj — or if — if we… no one knows how to do this their first time around. But in medical school, I could just open a book and study, and then I’d have the answers. There’s no book, mom, to tell me how to be a-a good dad. What if I just… what if I can’t do it? As soon as I took the test and saw that I was pregnant, all I could think about was telling you. And yes, it’s incredibly premature and we should schedule an appointment with dr. Navarro, but when I saw the result, it just made me so incredibly happy, and I figured you would feel the same way. I am. I do. I… and you 100% made the right call telling me because we are in this together. Yes. Oh, my god. I need to tell tj. Th-then again, he has a really busy day at the hospital. Maybe I should wait to tell him tonight. I’ll let you make that call. Wait, if you’re pregnant, you need to eat something. Well, I just had breakfast, but if you haven’t eaten, I could maybe have a juice or something. It — it does feel like we should celebrate, right? Yes, absolutely. Mom, would you like to join us? No, no, no. You — you two go celebrate together. Oh, mol. Mol? Mol! Yeah, mom, what is it? I’m very happy for you. I don’t want to be a debbie downer. I just want you to remember it’s early. Things happen. I’m not saying they will. Just don’t want you to get ahead of yourself, okay? I know, mom. And you’re right. And I-I hear what you’re saying. But this is the first good news I’ve had in a really long time. And I want to really celebrate that. You and chase were so good at the nurses’ ball this year. Thank you. I loved danielle ponder. Yeah, that’s so funny, my little sister is obsessed with her. Oh, how many siblings do you have? Two brothers and four sisters. Wow. Yeah.

[ Laughs ] That is… that’s a lot, right? Uh, but my sisters and i actually, um, we’ve performed a few times at the nurses’ ball. Really? Yeah. You sing? Okay, I need to hear more about that.

[ Laughs ] So, we’re doing this again. The only way to get drew out of pentonville is if I give the feds information on sonny? Well, look, this is all still pure speculation on my part, on robert’s part, okay? We have no proof that the feds, the justice department, are involved in any way. Okay? There’s no firm deal on the table. This could just be a political stunt by judge kim to move him up the ladder. It could also be the reason that he gave drew this insane sentence. I don’t know what to say. Nothing. Nothing. It’s just my obligation to present you with all the options. It’s not an option. If the feds came to me and they offered me a deal, I’m not going to take it. You know I’m not going to take it. I know sonny’s not my husband anymore, but he’s still my family. And I’m not going to be the person who puts him in prison. Not even if it means saving drew? Not even if it means saving drew. Attagirl.

[ Dramatic music plays ]

Guard! A prisoner’s been attacked! Come quick! So, what you’re saying is you’re more than just a bartender, that you have hidden talents. I am, in fact, more than just a bartender. Yeah, I actually, uh… I manage this place. Oh, good for you. Thanks. Yeah, I mean, clearly, between the two of us, you are the professional singer here. Mine is just, you know… I had fun. Well, that’s all that really matters. Because if you’re not having fun, neither is the audience. I don’t know how you do it, though. I mean, honestly, I still get terrified getting onstage. Once I’m there and in the moment and everything, I can enjoy myself, but it just… I don’t know. It — it was for a good cause. And, you know, we raised some money, so I guess that’s all that counts, right?

[ Cellphone rings ] Oh, uh, excuse me one second. I’ll be right back. There are tons of books on parenting and endless websites with advice on infant care. But the bottom line — there’s no roadmap for raising a child. It’s on-the-job training. But what if I fail? There’s no trick to changing a diaper, but how do I make my child feel comfortable? How do I make them feel safe and secure? Look, tj, I’m not the best person to be giving parenting advice. I missed a lot of your upbringing, and it’s something I’ll regret for the rest of my life. But what I do know is that you are an amazing person with an incredible partner. You and molly will figure this out together. Thank you. And for the record, you are an amazing mom and you will be an incredible grandma. Oh!

[ Laughing ] Okay? Okay, you know what? I’m still rethinking that name. I’m just, mm… I’m just too young to be called grandma, don’t you think? Mm. Absolutely.

[ Both laugh ] Speaking of celebrating, would it be all right with you if I told sam and kristina that andrea is pregnant? What happened to you saying it’s still very early? I know what I said. I… I… I-if you let me tell them, I will make sure that they’re cautiously optimistic. I just, you know, want all the davis girls to be on the same page regarding your journey with tj. And whatever happens, you know, we’ll just all be supportive. Is this your way of trying to get kristina and me talking? Absolutely. Is it so wrong for a mother to want her children to talk to each other? I guess they’re going to find out sooner or later. You know what, mom? Go for it. I love you. Oh, I love you. Trina, you have no idea. You have no idea the fantastic weekend that I have planned for you. There is no way that you would even be able to think about, even for a second, some silly paper that you have to write. First of all, my paper isn’t silly. Art is going to be my career, and I take my work very seriously. No, I know. I know. Okay, then I don’t want to be thinking about my paper when we go on our trip.

[ Sing-song voice ] Which is why… I need you to go.

[ Spencer sighs ] I know, but even if you didn’t finish your paper, I really, really doubt that you’d be able to think about school while you were there because… you know what? Never mind. It’s okay. What? No, it’s okay. What? Don’T…no! No, don’t worry about it. Stop! What is it? What? Tell me. You really want to know? Yes. You really, really want to know? Yes! I got us prime tickets to go see “moulin rouge.” Really? Yeah. Really?! Yeah. I listen to the original cast album all the time. I know! It’s almost like we’re dating and I know these things about you.

[ Both laugh ] So, yeah, we’re going to go. We have amazing seats. We’re going to be in the third row, center stage, all that jazz. And, um… I got us dinner reservations… at essence. What? I knew you were supposed to be taking me, but that place is supposed to, like, be the hardest place to get reservations at. Yeah. What can I say? I have a few connections. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. Okay. Ah, she’s excited!

[ Laughs ] Okay, maybe you’re right. Maybe this weekend will be amazing. Oh, I can’t wait! Well, you don’t have to wait. Look, I’m already all packed, so why don’t we just get you packed and then we can get out of here? Oh, hi there, dr. Robinson. Esme. Hi.

[ Both chuckle ] Oh! Is everything okay with ace? Oh, yeah. Yeah, he’s great. He just had his normal pediatrician appointment this morning. I tried to make it as early as I could so I didn’t miss too much work. Mm, that’s very commendable of you. And you seem to be doing a wonderful job with ace. Now, that’s a happy baby.

[ Both laugh ] Well, I can’t take all the credit. Spencer’s actually been a really big help. And I appreciate you suggesting that parenting class that we took together. It was really helpful to get us on the same page. That’s great.

From what I know aboutlate september in manhattan, it can mean pretty much anything weather-wise, so you’re going to want to be prepared for hot and cold. You’re going to want to bring something fancy for the theater. And I was thinking maybe you pack something casual in case you and I want to go for a walk around central park. Okay. So, where do you want to start? You’re going to look amazing no matter what you wear, so don’t even give me that look. Well, thank you for the compliment, but, uh, I don’t need your help packing. Hey, this is to speed things up, not slow things down. The sooner that we get on the road, the sooner that we get to new york, the sooner that you and i get to have some fun. Well, I’mma keep saying this until it sinks into your thick skull, but I’m not packing until I finish my essay. And I can’t finish my essay until you leave. What part of that sentence is confusing? No, I completely understand. I just have a different goal. Because I know you, trina robinson. And if I had to guess, I’d say that that essay over there is probably finished. Hm? I’m thinking maybe you have to do a little bit of proofreading, maybe a little bit of editing.

[ Laughing ] Ohh! You are so busted. That is exactly what it is. And you can do all of that on monday when we get back from our little trip. Okay, let’s go. No, you’re wrong. Okay, okay. I’m wrong. Uh, trina, I don’t believe you. Okay. You can believe me or not. But either way, if you really want to speed up this departure, you’ll go. And the door is over there. You know, I’m surprised at how good you’ve been to me, both as a doctor and… almost as a friend. Well, I’m sure you’ve heard the oath doctors take — “first, do no harm.” Well, for me, I kind of took that to mean be of service and help people. I’m — I’m not surprised that you’re kind and caring as a person. I think I’m just a little surprised that you’re extending that kindness to me, especially considering all the awful things I did to your daughter. But you’re a different person than you were when you did those things to trina and her friends. Right? Yes. I’m really just trying to be a better person for my son. And that’s the person I’m reacting to. I’m reacting to you, the mom of beautiful baby ace. Thank you. I really can’t tell you how much that means to me. That I can come to you for advice about ace. You know, I was a young mom, too. So I get it. I know how hard it can be. And sometimes you just need some help.

[ Both chuckle ] And with laura and kevin out of the country, um, I just thought maybe you would need some extra support. That’s all. So, if you need anything else, please, let me know. You know where I am. Okay? Sounds good. Thank you. I hate that drew is being used as a pawn by this judge for his career. Not to mention, this would not be happening to drew if it wasn’t for his involvement with me. But not turning evidence to free drew is less about sonny and — and it’s more about my kids. If sonny goes to prison, we’re in danger. We all have targets on our backs. And drew would never want that. Okay, now I’M… I’m not understanding. Are you saying that you are regretting being involved with drew? No. I regret what my world has done to drew. Yeah, but, c-carly, drew is not new to port charles. He’s been around the block. He was aware of how, shall we say, complicated your life is. And he chose to be involved with you anyway. That’s not making me feel any better. But I’m just saying, don’t torture yourself with gratuitous guilt. And certainly don’t blame yourself for the bad conduct of this overambitious judge. But can we prove bad conduct? Can we prove that this judge gave drew a ridiculous sentence just for political gain? Because right now, that’s the only chance we’ve got. I found him like this. He’s barely breathing. He needs a hospital, now!

[ Sighs ] Okay, trina robinson. So, how much more time do you think that you need so that you can finish up your essay and then you can go to new york and we don’t have to think about this anymore? I don’t exactly know, but I’ll say that you added about an hour by interrupting me. Are you really saying you’re sorry I showed up? Oh, trina, that’s the last thing that you should do if you want me to leave. Go. No. Come on! You don’t get to come over here and kiss me like that then expect me to go! No! Yes, because I need to finish my paper if you want me to kiss you like that again in new york.

[ Sighs ] You don’t play fair. No, I don’T. Now go. Okay, but type fast, trina robinson! New york city awaits! You did so good today, didn’t you? Yeah. I know! You’re a pro. You’re a professional. Such a big guy.

[ Both laugh ] It was nice to see you again, dr. Robinson. You too, esme. Ace says goodbye, too. Okay, bye. Bye-bye! You have a good day, handsome. Bye. Bye. Take care. You too.

[ Elevator bell dings ] Well, hello there. How’d your checkup go? Uh, well, I’m still in a wheelchair. But aside from that, all good. You know, I wanted to tell you that I really appreciate you. Thank you for filling me in on trina’s trip. Yeah, well, we are trina’s parents. We’re in this together. What are you watching? Uh, you. At the nurses’ ball a few years back. You’re singing a sara bareilles song, and you’re good. Oh, my god. You did not look me up. Of course I did. It took me all of 30 seconds to find it online. Okay… easy peasy. But again, you totally misrepresented this. I mean, first of all, it’s not an easy song to sing. And this choreography is really good. I hope that if the nurses’ ball ever asks you to perform again, you’ll agree to do it. No. No, I absolutely will not. Hey, who’s the professional singer here? That would be you. You are. Uh, exactly. So just take the compliment. Okay, I will… if you stop watching that.

[ Laughs ] Deal. Then, thank you for the compliment. Hey, gregory, it’s me. I just had some really great news, and I think that I made a breakthrough with kristina and molly. Right? I know. And anyway, the reason that I’m calling is because I am in such a good mood that I don’t feel like going to work today. So, I was wondering… after I run a few errands, what do you say we cross off something on your bucket list? I think if there were evidence against judge kim that he was unfairly sentencing people to advance his own career, some reporter would have already dug it up.

[ Sighs ] I’m just saying, I’m here to present all options. Okay, of course I’m going to try. Of course. But we need to have realistic expectations. At best, this is a long shot. Okay, well, a long shot is better than no shot at all. Where do we start? I need to see if there is a precedent for a judge delivering a politically motivated sentence — and if that sentence was then overturned. Because that could go a long way to getting drew’s case seen before another judge. Oh, thank you. Thank you so much, diane.

[ Cellphone rings ] Diane miller. Um, y-yes. Y-y-yes. But I’m going to demand a full explanation. That’s right. Bye. What’s that? What’s going on? Um… is it bad? Yes, it’s very bad. Um…

[ Clears throat ] Drew was attacked in pentonville. What? How — how bad is it? He’s in an ambulance on his way to general hospital. I have to get to him. Right now.

On the next “General Hospital” —

[ Relaxing music ]

Li: I’m glad to hear you talking like this. You can’t give into Sheila.

Finn: Of course, Mom. I’m not gonna risk losing my family. I mean, Sheila, she’s caused enough damage as it is. But listen, Mom, there’s something else I need you to know.

Sheila: So, we’re really doing this. We’re gonna end this?

Deacon: Yes.

[ Sheila sighing ]

Sheila: I– I don’t want to jeopardize your relationship with your daughter… The kind of relationship that I really hope that I’ll have one day with my son.

Hope: I still can’t believe you set this all up.

Thomas: You never stop amazing us.

Douglas: It was nothing, really. Gotta eat, right?

Hope: I think it’s a little more than just that.

Douglas: I wanted you guys to be happy. I still love you both so much, and I think you love each other too.

[ Thomas chuckling ]

Douglas: Madame.

Thomas: Wow.

Hope: Well, why thank you, good sir.

Thomas: Okay.

Douglas: Would you like a red or white with your meal?

Thomas: Well, I mean, I think that depends on what we’re having, so.

Douglas: The finest pizza and frites. [ Whispers ] French fries.

Hope: Oh. Okay, got it.

Thomas: Totally.

Hope: Well, those are my favorite. Come here, sweetie. You are so sweet. Thank you for doing all this.

Li: What do I need to know, Finn?

Finn: I just want to make sure that you realize how much I love and respect you. Okay? You’re my mom. This incredible woman who raised me with such love and support, and understanding, and consistency. You’re still doing it now. You’re– you’re coming over here, and you’re checking in on me — talking to me straight. I realize it must have really hurt when you heard that I called Sheila “Mom,” and I truly– I don’t know what came over me in that moment. I need you to know there is zero mistake when it comes to who made the man I am today, okay? And that’s you, okay? And I love you so much for that.

Li: Okay. So, Finn, you really haven’t had contact with Sheila?

Finn: See? Again with the straight talk, huh? No, Mom. Absolutely not. And once I figure out a way to get through to her, I plan on never seeing Sheila again.

Sheila: I understand you not wanting to threaten your relationship with your daughter. I feel the same way about my relationship with Finn.

Deacon: I–

Sheila: Whoa, whoa, whoa, stop. Stop, okay? Before you go and get all negative, I… I’m well aware that our situations are very different. — That I am determined to find a way to be a part of Finn’s life.

Hope: This just might be the best pizza I’ve ever had.

Thomas: Mm. It’s so crispy. And the cheese.

Douglas: I know you’re used to eating fancier foods, but pizza and fries was all I could get delivered in time.

Hope: Mm-mm. This is amazing. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Thomas: Mm-hmm.

Douglas: Well, I should get going.

Thomas: Wait, what?

Hope: Where?

Douglas: Home. I told Aunt Donna I forgot some homework here. She’s on her way back from grabbing us some boba.

Hope: Your son. Wow. Wow. You really did think of everything, didn’t you?

Douglas: I wanted to give you two some time alone. It’s so good seeing my mom and dad laughing, smiling, enjoying a meal. No pressure, but this would be a dream come true: My parents together… all of us living as a happy family.

Hope: Wow. Come here, you.

Thomas: Good kid.

Finn: It’s obvious how upset you are, Mom. You can’t carry all this stress and anger about Sheila. I’m gonna handle it; I promise you.

Li: It’s not that. I mean, it is, it’s just… I just can’t stop thinking about the impact your father’s affair with Sheila had on all of us. It just cuts so deep.

Finn: Look, you know you could always talk to me about it.

Li: It’s such a dark, deep secret from me, yet it was so easy for him to hide it. Makes me wonder what else he hid from me. And the worse part? Jack was the one who brought Sheila into our lives, yet he defended himself. Said that, uh, if it weren’t for her, you wouldn’t be here. That I should find some way to be grateful for this sleazy affair behind my back. Adopting you, knowing that you were the product of his betrayal of our marriage…

Finn: I’m sorry, Mom. I’m sorry. I know.

Sheila: That’s why we’re– we’re doing this. That’s why– that’s why we’re ending it, right? Because we both want a long lasting relationship with our kids. I really, I really– I don’t want this to end.

Deacon: Me, either. But just, I can’t mess things up with Hope.

Sheila: Yeah, and I, you know, I do want a relationship with– with Finn. I don’t want to have to walk in the shadows hiding from those outraged stares of the world any longer. Especially from the Forresters.

Deacon: One Forrester in particular: Steffy.

Deacon: With Steffy still in the way, I just don’t see how you have a path back to Finn.

Sheila: It sounds like you’re starting to doubt me.

Deacon: No, no, no, no. No, I know better.

Sheila: Well, good. You should. You just need to remember: there is no mistaking that bond between a mother and her son.

Finn: Hey. Look, you didn’t let the truth about Dad’s affair tear you down, right? Or throw your life into complete chaos? Instead, your persisted, right? You’re here, pushing forward, and you’re making sure I do the same, and I will. I’m gonna find a way to get through to Sheila. I’ll always do whatever it takes to protect Steffy and the kids. That goes for you, too.

Thomas: Can you believe our kid?

Hope: No. But also, yes.

Thomas: Hm.

Hope: Hm. And then, no.

Thomas: Hm.

[ Phone chiming ]

Hope: Oh. Oh! Speaking of, that would be Douglas letting us know that there are milk and cookies in the kitchen for dessert.

Thomas: Ah! Yeah. Of course, there are.

Hope: Mm-hmm.

Thomas: He really did think of everything, didn’t he? He, uh… he’s right…. With what he said. I do love you.

Hope: Thomas.

Thomas: No, I know. I know. You’re not there yet. I understand. But, it’s okay. I just love being with you… Being in your presence. I made mistakes in the past, but I turned around. Well, you know, it takes a little while for guys to mature — Longer than girls, right? So… [ Laughing ] Look, you– you were far ahead of me for a long time, but I think I’m finally there. But, um, there is one thing I did want to address. I promise that I did not tell Douglas to do any of this.

Hope: Oh, no. I– I think I figured that out because only he could’ve pulled all of this off.

Thomas: Mm-hmm.

Hope: So. ..

Thomas: Sure. You know, I don’t want to ruin the moment, but… look, you know how I feel, Jope. I only wanna be with you. Just you. And look, I… I was the wrong guy in the past, but I’m better now. I’m a new man. And Douglas is right about one more thing. You miss your family. Of course you do. But Liam hurt you, and that’s not your only family. Our family is right here.

Thomas: You know, Douglas isn’t wrong. We are a family, Hope.

Hope: Of course we are.

Thomas: And we could have everything Douglas has always wanted: A family together… Sharing more moments like this. And I know you’re not there yet. You may not love me right now, but… when you do, when things change, I will be right here because I have always loved you.

Hope: I can admit that it feels so good to be in your arms. A man that does love me and only me.

Thomas: Just you.

Hope: I can feel your love what you share with me, Thomas, and it… feels good. So, can you do it again? Tell me I’m the only one.

Thomas: You are the only one.

Deacon: Can I, uh– can I help you with anything?

Sheila: No, no. It’s– this is pretty much it. It’s not like I had a lot. Look, see? I can– I can handle this.

[ Phone chiming ]

Sheila: Hm?

Deacon: No, I just have to go downstairs to the restaurant.

Sheila: I understand. Of course, you do. So, I guess this is goodbye. My knight in shining armor… you really were– you are a godsend. I– I don’t know what I would’ve done if you hadn’t taken me in and really showed me that… I had worth, that I existed. Yeah, I know that I’ve proven I can take care of myself, but it was so nice having you to rely on. I am gonna miss you, Deacon Sharpe.

Deacon: I’m gonna miss you too, Sheila Carter. Good luck because I’m gonna be rooting for you.

[ Sheila chuckling ]

Sheila: Goodbye, Daddy.

[ Sheila exhaling ]

Li: So, since we’re opening up so much, be honest. There wasn’t any part of you that wanted to let Sheila go when she had her heart attack?

[ Finn sighing ]

Finn: I mean, I know the threat she posed, and the terror and pain she had caused our families, and I could see how much you and Steffy just wanted it all to be over. But plain and simple, I don’t decide who I save and who I don’t. Someone was coding in my hospital right there in front of me. I had a job to do.

Li: You’re stronger in your convictions than I am.

Finn: Well, regardless, she’s… she’s back in our lives, and I might not know exactly how yet, but I’m gonna find a way to get through to Sheila. And once I do, once she finally realizes that I can’t have anything to do with her, she’ll be gone.

Deacon: Man, I’m glad you texted. I didn’t know you were coming in. I would’ve gotten you the best seat in the house. Hey, listen. I can’t thank you enough for your help.

Scott: Oh, come on, Deacon. We’re old friends. We go way back. Although, who would’ve thought that you would be the town’s hot restaurateur, and I’d have earned my judgeship? Especially considering some of those situations you had to bail me out of at the lair. If memory serves.

Deacon: You know, if memory serves, one of those situations involved a can of whipped cream, a pair of twins and you in the walk-in refrigerator. Yeah. But you know, the thing about time– the thing about time passing is that the longer it passes, the harder it is to remember the bad stuff.

Both: Now, it doesn’t seem so bad.

[ Both chuckling ]

Scott: Okay, I gotta say, Deacon. I was a bit surprised by your request.

Deacon: Well, you know me. I haven’t always, uh, made the best choices or fraternized with the right crowd, but Sheila and I, we go way back, too. We have a lot of history.

Scott: So, what I think I’m hearing is the things we do for those we love, right?

Deacon: Hey.

Scott: But Deacon, I gotta tell you, man, her rap sheet… this is not the kind of girl you bring home to your mom.

Deacon: I never brought a girl home to my mom. Too smart for that, I guess.

Scott: Mm. Well, at least now, I know a little bit why you reached out to me, called in a favor… Asked to make sure the attorney’s files all the right motions. Ms. Carter may never know, but the really big reason that she’s a free woman is ’cause of you, Deacon.

Interview with Stephen Gyllenhaal

TV Interview!

Director Stephen Gyllenhaal of the film "Uncharitable"

Interview with director Stephen Gyllenhaal of the film “Uncharitable” by Suzanne 9/20/23

This is a fascinating movie, and I enjoyed chatting with this master filmmaker. As you will see, he is very passionate about this movie and its subject. I don’t usually interview directors, nor do I usually cover movies. However, between the SAG and WGA strikes, and the fact that he’s directed many TV shows and movie, and the worthy subject of this documentary, I felt I had to do this. I’m very glad I did.  Don’t miss this wonderful film because it really opens your eyes as to what charities can do and what nonprofit organizations have to go through to even exist. Here’s how you can get involved, too!

After three of the most dynamic and successful U.S. charities were shut down by conservative charity watchdogs, destroying lives and cutting off precious resources, many of the top influencers in the field knew something had to be done to overhaul the nonprofit sector.

Beginning with Dan Pallotta, whose record-breaking Ted Talk on the subject has inspired top philanthropists and changemakers, this feature documentary exposes the dark side of philanthropy and introduces a radical new way of giving. In an emotional call to action, Uncharitable demands that charities be freed from the traditional sackcloth-and-ashes constraints, so that they can truly change the world.

No topic is more crucial and timelier as we confront an increasingly unstable world with the growing revelation that we are all interconnected and that our fate lies in how much we are willing to invest in positive change.

Days of Our Lives Update

Days of Our Lives logo

Update written by Joseph

John and Steve meet at the Brady Pub. Steve comments on John asking him here to talk and then not talking. John respond that he will but he doesn’t know where to start. Steve guesses it’s serious then and tells him to take his time. John then informs Steve that he and Marlena had a long talk with the John Doe at the hospital and reveals that the man is his father.

Chad calls Stephanie from the Titan office. Stephanie reminds him that Steve and Kayla are coming over for dinner. Chad assures that he’ll be there and says that work has just been crazy with Maggie on leave. Chad tells her that he just has one e-mail to send and then he’ll be home. Stephanie asks if she sounded like a nagging housewife because she feels like she did. Chad jokes with her and asks if she needs him to pick anything up on the way home. Stephanie says they are good. Chad tells her that he loves her as they hang up. Vivian then arrives at the Titan office. Chad questions what she is doing there. Vivian asks if that’s any way to talk to his new boss.

Maggie is with Julie at the Horton house. They talk about Maggie being put through the ringer. Maggie says she can’t thank her and Doug enough for letting her stay. Julie tells her that she’s family. Maggie notes that Julie looked a little grim when she came in. Julie reveals a registered letter from Vivian. Maggie asks what fresh hell this is.

In Greece, Theresa remains in the hotel room going through the letters from inside Victor’s briefcase. She then hears someone coming and scrambles to put the letters up and hides the briefcase under the bed. Alex and Brady then return. Theresa greets them and asks if they got any leads. Brady tells her to cut the act as they know what she’s been up to. Theresa says she can explain but Alex tells her not to bother because the guy at the front desk already told them that she ordered room service. Theresa realizes that’s what they meant. Alex complains about how much it cost. Theresa says she was hungry and argues that none of it would have happened if they just let her come with them. Brady complains that she hasn’t changed a bit. Theresa asks if they got any leads from Constantine and if they figured out what was happening with Victor before he died.

Maggie decides she has to know what Vivian is up to and opens the envelope. Maggie reads that Vivian is removing her from her position as CEO of Titan, effective immediately. Julie can’t believe Vivian is firing Maggie.

Chad questions Vivian saying she is his new boss. Vivian informs him that Maggie is out and Vivian Kiriakis is in. Vivian explains that her and Victor’s divorce was never finalized, so they were still married when Victor passed. Vivian adds that she is not only Victor’s widow, but his sole heir because he had his will destroyed before he died. Chad says he’s sorry for Maggie. Vivian then asks if Chad is going to be unemployed with Maggie or if he’s going to be her number two when she executes her new plans for Titan.

Steve questions the guy with memory loss not being Joseph Bell, but the real Timothy Robicheaux. John confirms that Yo Ling was Joseph Bell and he just switched dog tags with his dad. John adds that they served in Korea together and a direct hit caused Timothy’s brain injury and amnesia. Steve comments on switching the dog tags sounding like a Yo Ling move. They talk about it being an amazing and miraculous story. Steve goes over how Timothy just happened to come to Salem to get treated by Kayla and Marlena, who happened to be married to his son. John praises Timothy as a great guy and says they love having him with them. Steve says he’s so happy for him as he deserves a dad like that. John says it’s what Timothy deserves after all he’s been through so they’ve decided to spend as much time with him as possible. Steve can’t wait to meet John’s father and they toast to him.

Kayla joins Stephanie and they have a glass of wine. Kayla praises the apartment and asks about the kids. Stephanie says she already put them to sleep and asks about Steve. Kayla says he had to meet John but he’ll be coming. Stephanie notes that Chad got held up at work as well as he’s pretty much running Titan with Victor gone and Maggie on leave. Kayla says she can imagine. Kayla knows Victor’s funeral was a sad occasion but talks about how great it was to see Theresa. Kayla asks if she got to spend time with her before she went back to California. Stephanie reveals that Theresa actually is not going back to California and is staying in town. Kayla guesses that means she’s going after Brady again. Stephanie informs her that Theresa actually set her sights on Alex and assures that she would be totally cool if they started dating. Kayla asks if she’s sure about that because it can be pretty dicey when relatives date the same guy. Kayla notes that she can relate because she almost lost her relationship with Kimberly when she got involved with Shane after thinking that Steve had died. Stephanie calls that different because Shane is the love of Kimberly’s life while Alex is just her ex-boyfriend. Kayla points out that Stephanie still sees Alex quite a lot. Stephanie says that’s just because they are neighbors and reminds Kayla that she’s totally committed to Chad. Kayla wonders what totally committed means to her and if she sees herself marrying Chad.

Chad calls Maggie and asks if it’s true. Maggie confirms that she just received a registered letter firing her and Vivian is already at the office, not wasting any time. Chad says he’s so sorry and asks if there’s anything he can do for her. Maggie says no and that Julie is taking good care of her. Maggie instructs Chad to do what he has to do because working for Vivian doesn’t mean he’s betraying her, but maybe he could find out what she’s up to. Chad says he will do that and hangs up. Chad then turns to Vivian and welcomes her to Titan. Chad asks Vivian about her vision for the company. Vivian wants to honor Victor’s legacy and take Titan back to it’s roots by following in his footsteps. Chad calls that a good idea and tells her to go to Greece. Vivian asks how Victor got his empire and it’s capitol. Vivian tells him that it was shipping street drugs. Chad asks if her big plan for Titan is to start laundering drug money and calls that insane. Vivian declares that Titan is going back to selling illegal drugs and asks if Chad is on board or if she has to fire him. Chad responds that she doesn’t have to fire him because he quits. Chad then storms out of the office.

Julie reads that Vivian is only giving Maggie two weeks of severance pay and argues that she can’t get away with this. Julie offers to call Justin but Maggie says there is nothing he can do. Julie asks about the Titan board. Maggie reminds her that there wasn’t a will so Vivian is the sole heir, the majority shareholder, and has all the power to get rid of any board member who crosses her. Maggie declares that Vivian can do whatever the hell she wants with Victor’s company and there’s not a damn thing they can do to stop her.

John asks Steve how Tripp is holding up with Ava on the run. Steve says he’s worried of course but he’s hopeful that she will be brought back safely. John asks if Steve is planning to go track Ava and Harris down himself. Steve notes that Rafe asked him to sit this out because he’s too close to the situation but admits he’s itching to get out there. John brings up Brady and Alex being in Greece, looking in to Victor’s last days. Steve asks why John didn’t go since he’s the private detective. John responds that he figured they could handle this one on their own and remarks that they didn’t need a third wheel tagging along…

Brady tells Theresa that this is none of her business. Theresa argues that Victor’s legacy affects their son since Tate is a Kiriakis too. Alex points out there’s no secret so they might as well just tell her. Theresa thanks him. Brady tells Alex to go ahead then. Alex explains that Constantine said Victor seemed troubled and didn’t mention the will, but he did say something about a letter. Alex adds that Brady remembered Kayla went to Victor’s childhood home and saw a box full of letters in the wine cellar, so they checked it out but didn’t find any letters. Theresa then unveils the briefcase and says maybe they are in there. Brady recognizes it as Victor’s briefcase and asks why the hell she has that. Theresa informs them that Shane dropped it off. Brady questions Shane being there and she’s just now telling them. Theresa says she wanted to hear about their meeting first. Brady asks what Shane said and why he had the briefcase. Theresa explains that the ISA recovered it from the wreckage of the plane crash and thinks maybe Victor put the letters in there. Brady decides they will open it then but Theresa doesn’t think that’s a good idea.

Steve brings up hearing that Victor destroyed his will and that Vivian showed up, claiming to be his widow. Steve asks if John has any idea what Vivian is up to. John suggests she wants to suck every dime she can get out of Maggie’s inheritance. John wonders why Victor would have the will destroyed. Steve argues that he never would’ve done that if he thought he was still married to Vivian. Steve calls Vivian not only crazy, but dangerous. Vivian then appears at the Pub and warns them to watch what they say in public.

Stephanie asks Kayla where this is coming from since she and Chad just moved in together. Kayla points out that she also moved in with Chad’s kids. Stephanie asks what that has to do with marriage. Kayla thinks they just need to look at it from the kids’ point of view and asks if marriage isn’t the next logical step. Stephanie asks if she means the next step for them or for her. Stephanie comments on Kayla being Catholic and sounding like Grandma Caroline but Kayla assures it’s nothing to do with that. Kayla worries about loss for the kids and she wants her to be happy. Kayla asks if she doesn’t want to marry Chad. Stephanie assures that she does want to marry Chad, right as Chad comes home.

Brady doesn’t give a damn what Theresa thinks and takes the briefcase from her, arguing that it belongs to his grandfather so he’s opening it. Theresa clarifies that Shane specifically said for it to be delivered to Maggie because he thinks she should be the one to open it. Brady decides they’ll open it when they get back to Salem then. Brady says they are done and might as well go home so he’s going to pack. Alex points out that it’s already after midnight so there won’t be any flights until tomorrow morning. Brady says a couple hours shouldn’t make much difference and says goodnight. Theresa tells Alex that she’ll see him in the morning but Brady questions where she’s going. Theresa says she’s going with Brady to his room, but he refuses.

Chad greets Stephanie and Kayla and jokes that he can leave so they can finish their conversation. Stephanie says Kayla was just being her mom and notes that Steve will be there soon as she pours Chad a glass of wine and asks about his day. Chad responds that it was okay until Vivian Alamain showed up.

Vivian hugs John and says she’s so happy to see him even though he never came to visit her in prison. John responds that he would have but he didn’t want to. Steve jokes that he’d love to stay and catch up but he has to go because Stephanie and Kayla are probably wondering where he is. Steve congratulates John as he then exits. Vivian asks John if he’s surprised to see her. John informs her that he knew she was here and that she inherited Victor’s estate. Vivian calls it a wonderful surprise but John says not for Maggie. Vivian wants John to come work for her at Titan.

Julie tells Maggie that first Vivian stole her home and now wants to destroy her career. Julie encourages Maggie not to worry because she’s going to find a way to help her fight this. Julie adds that Maggie will always have a place to stay with her and Doug. Maggie appreciates that but feels she should start looking for a place of her own. Julie calls that nonsense and says Alice wouldn’t want Maggie to be alone at a time like this. Julie states that the Horton family is not rich, powerful, and nasty like the Kiriakis family but they stick together like glue. Maggie tells her how much that means to her. Julie asks if she’s heard from Brady and Alex. Maggie says no and guesses no news is good news. Maggie swears that if Victor’s will said he didn’t have a dime to his name, she would’ve laughed but hates the thought of Vivian claiming to be Victor’s widow, stealing everything he worked so hard for. Maggie hopes Brady and Alex find something to stop her.

Theresa tells Brady that she can’t stop with Alex when she barely knows him. Brady remarks that didn’t used to matter to her. Alex calls that a little below the belt. Theresa argues that they share a child, so they can share a room. Theresa then complains that she’s not interested in sleeping with him. Brady states that he just doesn’t want to be alone with her. Alex tells Brady to lighten up. Brady tells him to stay out of this. Brady tells Theresa that her delusions of them getting back together is not going to happen. Brady adds that she’s coming off desperate and tells her to stop. Brady then quickly exits the room. Alex asks if Theresa is alright. Theresa says not really and starts to cry as Alex hugs her.

Chad informs Stephanie and Kayla that Vivian fired Maggie and took over Titan. Chad adds that he then quit his job because Vivian’s new business plan is to start moving illegal drugs through Titan. Steve then arrives and apologizes for being late as he asks what’s going on since it looks like a morgue. Stephanie informs him that Chad just quit his job because Vivian is now in charge of Titan. Steve say no wonder she seemed so pleased with herself.

John questions Vivian wanting him to be her CEO. Vivian says she made a couple of suggestions about the direction she wanted to go but Chad just quit. Vivian adds that John was the first person she thought of to replace him. John points out that he has a job. Vivian argues that John is an adopted Alamain so he has grander things to do than be a private detective. John responds that he’s happy with the job he has. Vivian asks if she can change his mind. John tells her to give Maggie back her house as they both know Victor wanted Maggie to have it. Vivian remarks that Victor shouldn’t have destroyed his will then. John asks Vivian to do the right thing for once. Vivian responds that she would like to, but her lawyer said if she gives Maggie a dime then she will have access to Victor’s fortune and she can’t do it. John tells her that she will have to find another corporate stooge then. Vivian questions who.

Alex tells Theresa that it’s okay and that Brady didn’t mean what he said as he’s just jet lagged and worried about Maggie. Theresa cries that he just said what everyone else thinks about her and that she’s an awful, unlovable person. Alex insists that’s not true and that Brady is just off his game right now as he lost custody of his daughter, lost his grandfather, and now Vivian is making Maggie’s life hell so he’s just lashing out. Theresa cries that Brady said she was desperate and pathetic. Alex says he was wrong and praises Theresa as smart, brave, and beautiful. Theresa asks if he really thinks she’s beautiful. Alex tells her to look in the mirror. Theresa thanks him for being there as she doesn’t know what she would do if he wasn’t there. Theresa then kisses Alex.

Stephanie jokes about Vivian not keeping it under wraps that she wants to push illegal drugs. Chad remarks that Vivian sure thinks outside the box. Steve comments that he loves how Chad and Stephanie make each other laugh, noting there is no greater sign of compatibility. Steve then asks if they are thinking about getting married anytime soon.

Vivian goes to the Horton house. Julie questions who the hell let her in. Vivian says she rang the doorbell. Maggie asks what she wants. Vivian delivers a box of Maggie’s figurines and mocks her. Julie knows how much Vivian enjoyed throwing Maggie out of her own house and shouts that now it’s her turn to throw Vivian out of her house.

John leaves the Pub and gets a call from Brady. Brady tells John that he had no luck with Constantine but the ISA found Victor’s briefcase in the plane wreckage so Shane brought it to the hotel. John asks what was in it. Brady says he doesn’t know as Shane apparently wanted Maggie to open it and notes that he handed the briefcase off to somebody else.

Theresa and Alex continue kissing as Alex removes his shirt and they kiss on to the bed.

Primetime TV Review: Love Can Surprise You

TV Review!

“Love Can Surprise You” Review on by Eva 9/20/2023

Carina (Camilla Belle) is a romance columnist who works for Sparklife. Carina thinks she is headed for marriage with her boyfriend Tom (Karn Kalra) until he suddenly breaks up with her. Camila’s boss pairs her with a new writer named Liam (David Lafontaine). Her boss thinks the romance section of the website needs a male perspective.

Carina and Liam don’t get along at first, because he is more spontaneous in his writing while she has a more serious and organized approach to her writing. Carina and Liam become friends when they work on an article about the ten best activities to do on a date. Carina tells Liam she wants to get back together with her boyfriend and Liam comes up with a plan to help Carina. Liam’s plan works and Carina’s boyfriend asks Carina for another chance and he arrives at her parents vow renewal ceremony. Carina discovers that just because her and her boyfriend seem like a good couple, it doesn’t mean they should be together.

This movie is worth watching, even though in my opinion, it would have been fun to explore Carina’s Brazilian heritage a bit more since it was mentioned that her mother was from Brazil. I also would have liked to see a bit more of the vow renewal ceremony. I really enjoyed Camila Bell in this movie.

This movie was previously released as “10 Truths About Love” in 2022. The movie is available under this title in Tubi.

If you missed the movie look on your DVR guide for the next airing because Great American Family channel airs movies several times.

I give this movie 4 out of 5 stars.

Brady and Theresa on "Days of Our Lives" on Peacock

Maybe it’s just us, but Brady seemed as if he was jealous of Theresa going after Alex. There is nothing keeping Brady from being with Theresa! He listed Theresa’s evil deeds to Alex when he was telling him why he wasn’t going to be with her. This is the same man who was willing to overlook Kristen’s actions when he was with her. Theresa has done her fair share of things, but nothing compared to Kristen.

Does Xander have selective hearing? When Sarah had the baby, she told him the baby was his. He acted as if he didn’t hear that once she got to the hospital. Sarah needs to feel like dirt keeping the truth from him about the baby. We understand that she doesn’t want him near the baby, but he has a right to know that he has a child.

Wasn’t it convenient that Chanel suddenly realized she suppressed her feelings for Johnny? She was more than willing to be with Talia, but after her conversation with Paulina, she suddenly wants to be with Johnny. We know the writers had to do something, since Talia is leaving the show, but Chanel should have at least been showing signs of wanting to be with him.

Johnny and Chanel told each other that they never stopped loving each other. Did Johnny forget that he was just in love with Wendy? It’s funny how easily they can tell each other how they feel now.

Are the writers trying to pull the wool over our eyes? Is Susan really alive, or is Ava seeing things? Ava was convinced that Charlie was alive because he was visiting her. How do we know she isn’t doing the same thing with Susan? If Susan is alive, why wouldn’t she reach out to EJ or Johnny? It doesn’t make sense for her to visit Ava.

Talia has no loyalty to Belle. She couldn’t wait to kiss Shawn. Talia would probably be in prison if it weren’t for Belle, yet the first chance she got she hooked up with Shawn. We know she was drunk, but that is no excuse to kiss Belle’s husband (or worse).

Young & The Restless Transcript

Transcript provided by Suzanne

Victor: You just have to be patient, lily. All will be revealed in due time.

[ Lily chuckling ]

Lily: Well, that’s not really comforting, given the circumstances.

Victor: Are you forgetting that I was once an anonymous investor?

Lily: No, I know, but jill knew who you were and devon and I trusted jill.

Victor: Well, in this case, you just have to trust me.

Devon: Thank you.

Jack: Would you please get us a table?

Diane: What are you going to do?

Jack: I am going to talk to billy.

Diane: Maybe this isn’t the time or the place.

Jack: I’m not going to make a scene.

Diane: Good. Good, but tread lightly. Billy seems to have a short fuse these days.

Jack: Yeah. Maybe that’s the problem now. He doesn’t think anything through. He just reacts. I don’t know what he’s thinking these days.

Billy: There’s so much change and so many emotional things that happened to her.

Kyle: Hello, stranger.

Audra: Kyle.

Kyle: I missed you.

Audra: We were just at a staff meeting an hour ago.

Kyle: That was work. You seem to be avoiding me lately outside of work. Have you changed your mind about our after-hours fling?

Nikki: Now, just to get this out of the way, I know about your affair, or whatever you’re calling it, with audra charles. I’m sure it’s a fun, easy way to deflect from the pain that you’re feeling going through your breakup and avoid the pain that summer is feeling because of you. You know how protective I am of my granddaughter.

Kyle: Of course, nikki. You know I’ve always admired that about you.

Nikki: Well, then you won’t be surprised to hear that I told audra if she wanted to continue working at newman media, she would have to end the affair immediately.

Kyle: And for the record, it worked. We’re over.

Audra: No, I’ve just been swamped with worked, that’s all. I mean, you’ve seen how crazy it’s been in newman media these last few weeks. There’s no reason to take it personally.

Kyle: I’m not. I just miss our time together.

Audra: Well, be patient. We’ll figure this out.

Nikki: Well, well, well. The two of you seem awfully close. Tell me, were you discussing business or something a little more intimate?

Announcer: Additional sponsorship provided by…

Audra: Uh, of course, we were discussing business, nikki. Kyle was saying something I couldn’t quite catch, so I moved in a little closer so I could listen.

Nikki: Is that so?

Audra: Yes.

Nikki: And what exactly was this business you were discussing?

Audra: Kyle was bringing me up to speed on several of the new sites we were looking to acquire before you took over. We were going over the pitch to make sure we were on the same page.

Kyle: I was worried you wouldn’t be as enthusiastic about it as I was, so audra was easing my mind.

Nikki: I see. Kyle, could you excuse us for a moment? Audra and I have some other business to discuss privately, if you don’t mind.

Lily: I just have one last question for you.

Victor: All right, if you like.

Lily: Did this person approach you or did you approach them?

Victor: They approached me.

Lily: And would I know this person? Come on, I mean, you can at least tell me that, can’t you?

Victor: No, I can’T.

Lily: Okay.

Victoria: Am i interrupting something?

Victor: No, sweetheart. Not at all. Lily was just on her way out.

Lily: Well, thank you for your time, victor.

Victor: Thank you.

Victoria: What was that all about?

Victor: Nothing that concerns you, my darling.

Victoria: If it has to do with the company, it’s probably something I should know.

Victor: It doesn’t concern newman enterprises either.

Victoria: All right then. I suppose I’ll add it to the ongoing mystery.

Victor: Mm-hmm. If you must know, I own some interest in chancellor-winters.

Victoria: You’re just full of surprises lately, aren’t you?

Victor: Mm-hmm. And I just sold that piece of the company. But let’s not discuss it now, okay? Sweetheart, that is so damn good. Look at the poise and the grace and the presence. My god. I love it. Don’t you?

Victoria: Oh, well, you know. It’s taking some getting used to, looking at my face all day, but it just reminds me to keep focused on getting the job done.

Victor: I think it’s beautiful.

Victoria: Mom was worried that you wouldn’t be that enthusiastic about it.

Victor: Why would she worry about that? This is a fitting symbol of your new position, sweetheart. You’re running this company. It’s in your capable hands now and you’re bringing it to the future. Bright, prosperous future.

Victoria: I see that you’ve replaced my portrait with your own.

Victor: Your office has walls, doesn’t it?

Victoria: That’s not the point, dad. It’s the gesture. It’s the symbolism of all of it, which further leads me to believe that this wasn’t a mere business decision on your part. That there was a personal and punishing element to you replacing me at the head of the company, and for the life of me, I cannot figure out what I did to deserve that.

Diane: What is it you’re worried about?

Jack: He could be alerting devon that we’re going after tucker, after I expressly told him that is a bad idea and he agreed.

Diane: Well, hopefully, that’s not what they’re discussing.

Jack: Well, I seriously doubt that. Look, I don’t doubt that he is protective of jabot and the family and he thinks he’s doing the right thing, but tucker mccall is a big problem and he is up to something and we have to figure out what it is. We can’t do that when we’re showing all our cards.

Devon: Hello, jack.

Jack: Could I have a moment alone with my brother, please?

Billy: We’re in the middle of a conversation, jack.

Devon: No, actually, I think we’re fine. We’ve covered everything, billy. I need to get going anyway.

Billy: Okay, well, just remember what I said, okay? Keep your eyes open, take care of your family. Something big is about to happen with tucker, I can feel it.

Devon: I appreciate the heads up.

Billy: Okay.

Devon: Good to see you, jack.

Jack: You too. What the hell are you doing? Why are you going behind my back on this? Relapsing ms isn’t the only thing I have going on.

Billy: I never agreed to not alert devon about tucker. That was your thinking, not mine.

Jack: Not how I remembered it.

Billy: Of course, it isn’t ’cause you don’t listen to me, jack.

Jack: As I recall, you understood why I didn’t want to use devon to get at tucker. We have no business creating conflict between devon and his father.

Billy: I did not lie to devon, okay? I told him the truth and if that creates distance between the two of them, well maybe, that puts pressure on tucker, which was the plan from the get go. I made the right decision.

Jack: How much did you tell him?

Billy: I told him what ashley told you. Tucker lost his head in paris and that he lashed out because she didn’t want to follow through with the business plan.

Jack: And what was his response?

Billy: He was concerned.

Jack: Concerned?

Billy: Yeah. He was a little rattled.

Jack: He didn’t seem rattled just now. He thanked you for the information and left. If anything, he was trying to get away from you.

Billy: Well, I think it got to him, but, you know, he’s gonna give tucker the benefit of the doubt.

Jack: Ah, damn it, billy.

Billy: I planted a seed, jack. I reminded devon who his father is and what he is capable of. I’m not gonna apologize for that.

Victor: Look, the changes I’ve made were no way a reflection of what I thought of your work. I thought you did a wonderful job. In fact, I’m gonna lean on you as we move forward.

Victoria: That sounds like a press release of someone that you just recently demoted.

Victor: If you will.

Victoria: Am I wrong?

Victor: Don’t you see what’s going on? This is not about you. This is about this company. It has become disjointed, fractured, broken.

Victoria: Did I do that?

Victor: You certainly contributed to it.

And nicholas would leave the company once again!

Victoria: He’s already done that, dad. And it’s all your fault, not mine. Not even adam’S. It’s all on you!

Lily: Thank you for coming.

Devon: Yeah, for sure. How did things go with victor?

Lily: Uh, they went nowhere.

Devon: Why? He wouldn’t meet with you?

Lily: No, he met with me, but he clearly was enjoying not telling me who this mystery person is.

Devon: God. What difference would it make to him?

Lily: I don’t know. He said he made a deal to not reveal their identity.

Devon: I wonder if he’s playing games with us?

Lily: Well, whatever it is, I don’t like this game. It makes me nervous and it makes me feel like we’re not gonna like whoever this person is to do business with them.

Devon: Do you have any guesses of who it is?

Lily: I mean, he did say that this person approached him, not the other way around, which makes me feel like they clearly have a personal interest in owning a piece of chancellor-winters.

Devon: You must have somebody in mind. Who is it?

Lily: I think it’s tucker. My name is caron and I’m from brooklyn. I am in love with mixtiles. You just pull the adhesive off the back and stick it to any surface, and there’s no damage to your walls. Go to mixtiles.Com and pick sizing, filters and it really makes it fit the decor of your home. Order now and get up to 50% off. Lean cuisine.

Devon: So, what makes you think it’s tucker?

Lily: Just a hunch.

Devon: What’s led you to this hunch?

Lily: Uh, knowing who he is and how he operates, and when he’s angry, he wants to burn bridges and right now, he’s very angry.

Devon: Okay. All right. Fair enough. How would this be a danger to the company since it’s such a small investment? It’s nowhere near controlling.

Lily: It could be his way to get his foot in the door and if he’s back to his original plan of targeting jabot, maybe he’s back to all of his plans.

Devon: I really don’t believe that he would go behind my back for a second time.

Lily: Look, I– I know that you’re trying to rebuild your relationship with him. I know that.

Devon: Yeah, and it’s– it’s– it’s going well and he seemed genuinely concerned that this whole thing with ashley was going to ruin the progress we’ve been making, so I don’t see it.

Lily: Okay. Look, I hope I’m wrong, I do, but I’m not as inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt as you are.

Devon: I understand that. I do. Neither is billy.

Lily: What do you mean?

Devon: We just had an odd conversation before I got here.

Lily: Odd in what way?

Devon: He’s just being billy. Letting off steam, I think.

Lily: About what?

Devon: It’s–

Lily: What did he say?

Devon: He and jack think the same thing you do. They think that tucker is now more dangerous than ever.

Jack: Would you listen to me just this once? Just because the seed is planted does not mean anything is going to grow. Right now, for all we know, devon is on his way to tucker to let him know the abbott brothers are after him.

Billy: You know what I would say to that? Good.

Jack: That would be your response, wouldn’t it?

Billy: Tucker already knows we’re on high alert. If he hears it from devon, maybe it rattles tucker’s cage a little bit. Maybe shows devon his hand.

Jack: And you’re just fine with dropping devon and probably abby in the middle of this mess?

Billy: Actually, I think they should know what’s going on with tucker.

Jack: This is our fight, billy, not theirs. God, I regret even considering the possibility of using devon to get at tucker.

Billy: That’s because you still think we’re using or manipulating devon, which isn’t happening.

Jack: Wait, how are we not?

Billy: I’m opening up his eyes, I’m reminding him of tucker’s true nature. I see no downside there.

Jack: No, you never do.

[ Kyle exhaling ]

Kyle: Oof. Business casual takes on a whole new meaning.

Audra: Well, you know, I thought you could see the earrings better this way. You know, no distractions. I think we’re gonna make a great team.

Kyle: Oh, I’m counting on it.

Audra: So this, tonight? This is?

Kyle: A celebration.

Audra: Mm.

Kyle: My new job, our new collaboration.

Audra: Mm, I like that. Let’s celebrate. You, mr. Abbott, are a genius.

Kyle: Oh, yes. But let’s not talk it to death. I will always have your back. Count on me. I have no doubt we could pull it off.

Audra: Yeah?

Kyle: But why risk it? You have too much to lose.

Audra: Well, not if no one ever knows. And also, why does nikki get to decide who we can and cannot be with? Like…

Kyle: When we know exactly what we want.

Audra: Exactly. We just have to be very discreet.

Kyle: Absolutely.

Audra: And you know, I– I just, I don’t want to lose this.

Kyle: All work and no play? I mean, oof.

Audra: Can you imagine?

Kyle: Mm-mm.

Audra: The prospect would make me way too cruel.

Kyle: Mm-hmm.

Audra: Plus, knowing that we’re playing with fire every time we’re sneaking around to see each other, that sounds pretty exciting, doesn’t it?

Kyle: You love the danger. Are you really having that much fun with me?

Audra: Eh. I’m just kidding. I just, you know, I certainly don’t want to waste my time not enjoying myself.

Kyle: Well, there is one more concern. Even if we convince nikki that we’ve stopped seeing each other, there’s no guarantee she won’t keep me at the company.

Audra: Let me take care of that. Look, obviously, I’d love nothing more than to spend some quality time with you, but I– I have some calls that I have to make before the meeting. And, um, since our connection is supposed to be a secret, we should probably move on from my suite as a meeting place anyway.

Kyle: I guess that’s true.

Audra: Great. Um, I’ll see you at the office.

Kyle: Um, I was actually gonna get a quick workout. Not the one I was hoping for, unfortunately. Then I’ll head back to the office.

Audra: Okay, um, I’ll– I’ll see you there.

Nikki: So, you and kyle.

Audra: I told you, nikki, it was strictly a business discussion.

Nikki: I heard what you told me and I’m telling you, I think it is problematic for the two of you to have any interaction at all.

Audra: May I ask why?

Nikki: Because the attraction is still there, at least on his part.

Audra: Yeah, well, I’m not gonna deny that. Yes, it is still there. It’s always been there. But you’ve made your position clear on this and I respect you too much to break any rules.

Nikki: And i appreciate that. But I’m not sure that kyle can show the same restraint.

Audra: Look, I told him and he heard me loud and clear.

Nikki: Perhaps. But I get the sense that kyle has a bit of a wild streak in him, not unlike his father when jack was younger. The breakup of his marriage to summer seems to have brought this on. I mean, that is probably why he was drawn to you in the first place.

Audra: So, what are you saying?

Nikki: I’m saying that I think it’s best, moving forward, that we let kyle go from newman media. Isn’t it absolutely bonkers deliciously flavored at the turn of a dial, with zero sugar and zero calories. And cirkul has over 40 flavors, so your water can be as unique as you are. Try cirkul. Your water, your way. Now with even more flavors. Available at walmart or drinkcirkul.Com.

Announcer: The young and the restless will continue.

Audra: You want me to fire kyle?

Nikki: I believe that’s the best move for everyone involved.

Audra: With all due respect, mrs. Newman, um, I think you’re overreacting. Kyle isn’t gonna be a problem. I can assure you of that.

Nikki: Well, I am also concerned about you.

Audra: Me?

Nikki: Oh, come on. I know the two of you are carrying on in secret, even though I told you I wanted the relationship to end.

Audra: It has ended.

Nikki: No, it hasn’T. I can see it in his eyes when he looks at you. And before you try to deny it one more time, you should know that you are on very thin ice yourself. I was going to fire both of you, but I’ve decided to remove the temptation and give you one last chance. But trust me, this is your final warning. Do you understand?

Audra: Yes, I understand.

Nikki: Good. I will leave you to notifying kyle of his termination. And I suggest doing it sooner rather than later.

Lily: See? I’m not crazy. I’m not the only one who’s worried about tucker.

Devon: It’s not the same though ’cause jack is upset about the situation with tucker and ashley. Billy is just shooting from the hip. He doesn’t know if anything’s going on.

Lily: Okay, what did he say exactly?

Devon: He said I need to keep my eyes open ’cause he thinks that tucker is up to something.

Lily: Anything specific?

Devon: No. Nothing at all. That’s my point. It just felt like he was trying to recruit me in case something happened.

Lily: Okay, so what did you say?

Devon: I mean, I just sat there and listened. And I said, “thanks for the heads up.” Then, jack walked over and things got weird ’cause it felt like him and billy were upset about something. But neither one of them said anything about victor or chancellor-winters or anything that involved us.

Lily: Well, look, I mean, tucker knows how to fight wars on several fronts.

Devon: Yeah, but as true as that may be, we still don’t have any proof that he is the mystery investor who bought victor’s share.

Lily: Then, why would victor do this to us? Why would he do it to jill?

Devon: I have no idea. I really don’T. But I don’t think tucker would be stupid enough to try another sneak attack, knowing that it would ruin our relationship and his relationship with his grandson if I found out.

Lily: I don’t know, devon. I mean, whatever that’s happening right now, we have to figure it out. I don’t like mysteries and the fact that this person wants to remain anonymous? There’s a reason for that and I don’t think it’s going to benefit us.

Devon: Well, we don’t know that for sure. We don’t know if it’s a good thing or a bad thing and I think you’re jumping to a lot of unwarranted conclusions on several fronts.

Lily: Look, I know this is complicated for you, okay? I know that you’re worried about abby. I know you want tucker to be a real father. I get it. And you could be right. It– it may not be him. I’m just saying don’t underestimate what he’s capable of, okay?

Victor: You’re blaming me for this company’s dysfunction?

Victoria: You decide you’re gonna just shuffle the deck chairs and everyone else has to scramble around to figure out where they fit in in your grand scheme.

Victor: I explained to all three of you what I expected of you.

Victoria: By dictating your plans. Then, you just expect everyone to fall in line.

Victor: You damn well know. You more than anyone else should know a company of this size is not run by consensus. It’s run by one person. And that person is me from now on.

Victoria: Then why even bother to keep me around? Or nicholas, for that matter?

-Fixed. -That’s my son.

Nikki: What is going on in here? I can hear you all the way down the hall.

Victor: Our daughter’s insinuating I’m no longer capable of running my company.

Victoria: That’s not true. I was just questioning some of dad’s decisions.

Victor: It’s one and the same.

Victoria: Well, what is it then? We’re not allowed to challenge you anymore?

Victor: I will not tolerate insubordination.

Nikki: All right. Why don’t we all take a break, calm down before somebody says something they will regret.

Victor: I’ve said all I have to say.

Nikki: It’s premature to talk about the changes anyway because they won’t go into effect for another few weeks, and your father and I are planning a trip together before I move over to newman media and he takes the reins again here. So, there will be plenty of time to sort everything out to everyone’s satisfaction.

Victoria: That works for me.

Victor: That doesn’t work for me.

Nikki: What do you mean?

Victor: What I mean is that changes in both companies have to be finalized immediately.

Nikki: Well, that’s not what we talked about.

Victor: I don’t give a damn! It’s my decision! That’s what will happen!

Kyle: That took a while. Nikki must have had a lot to talk about. Care to clue me in?

Audra: She knows, kyle.

Kyle: About us? How is that possible? We’ve been so careful.

Audra: Well, not careful enough for nikki to trust us. More specifically, to trust you. When she saw us earlier together, she put two and two together and figured out that we’ve been seeing each other, in spite of her telling us not to. And– and she believes that as long as we keep working together, this attraction and desire won’t go away. At least, not on your part.

Kyle: Okay, how could she tell this, exactly?

Audra: She said she could see it in your eyes.

Kyle: Come on. Really?

Audra: I’m just telling you what she told me.

Kyle: Well, I’m not gonna deny I’m attracted to you and I have the desire to kiss you every time I’m around you–

Audra: Kyle, just– no. Just please.

Kyle: Why are you acting this way?

Audra: Because we can’t keep doing this. Just– haven’t you been listening?

Kyle: Okay, okay. I get it. I’ll keep my business face on when we’re at the office and we’ll be more careful when we’re in public.

Audra: It’s too late for that.

Kyle: What do you mean it’s too late? I’ll calm nikki down.

Audra: She told me to fire you, kyle.

Kyle: What?

Audra: Look, I– I tried to change her mind, I fought for you, but her mind was already made up.

Kyle: Because of a look in my eye? Are you kidding me?

Audra: It doesn’t matter why, okay? I just– it’s over. On all counts. Okay? I’M… I’m sorry.

Billy: You still don’t trust me, do you.

Jack: Oh, come on, billy.

Billy: No, that’s what this is about, jack. It’s always been about that. You don’t think I can handle myself without your guidance.

Jack: And you can’t be criticized because you take everything I say so personally.

Billy: Because it’s always personal, jack, and very seldom complimentary.

Jack: And that’s why you jump down my throat every time I disagree with you.

Diane: All right, gentlemen, please. This is not the place for this fight.

Billy: You should tell your new husband that.

Diane: Billy.

Billy: You know what? Forget it. Don’t worry about it ’cause he’s not gonna change anyway.

[ Jack sighing ] I’m kareem abdul jabbar.

Lily: You’re not mad at me, are you?

Devon: No, I’m not mad.

Lily: Okay, good. Because I love you and we’re on the same team, right?

Devon: Of course. Of course, we are and I love you too. I just don’t think that tucker is our guy, okay? I mean, even if he is, he would have no say in what happens in our company because he’s just buying an investment.

Lily: I really wish I had your confidence.

Devon: Am I wrong about that?

Lily: I don’t know. I just know that I don’t like surprises and neither does jill and we have to get to the bottom of this. And I’m sorry, but my money is still on tucker.

Victoria: Can you believe him?

Nikki: He was angry and lashing out. I’ll talk to him and try to calm things down.

Victoria: Well, good luck.

Nikki: You know, it doesn’t help that you keep pushing his buttons.

Victoria: All I did was question how he arbitrarily upends the lives of people that he supposedly cares for.

Nikki: Victoria, you know your father loves you. Don’t ever question that.

Victoria: Yes, mom. He particularly loves us when we’re obedient to him and falling in line with whatever he wants. Not so much loving when we cross him, like I did just now. Did you get here in time to hear him invite me to leave the company?

Nikki: He didn’t mean that.

Victoria: Oh, I’m not so sure. He keeps changing the rules, mom, and it’s only gonna get worse. What is it gonna take for you to agree that we are headed in the wrong direction? Not just for the family, but also for the company. How long can you ignore what is happening to him?

Kyle: Thank you. Here’s to being unemployed. Again.

Victor: Hello, kyle.

Kyle: Hey.

Victor: May I?

Kyle: Of course. Have a seat.

Victor: That sounds a pretty strong drink for the middle of a day.

Kyle: Oh, haven’t you heard? Nikki forced audra to fire me because she didn’t like the look in my eye.

Victor: Really? Huh. And you don’t think that is your fault?

Kyle: Well… this rounds out a perfect morning for me. Can I buy you a drink?

Victor: No, thank you.

Kyle: Then, tell me how exactly this is my fault.

Victor: Kyle, I hate to… to tell you this, but you are an abbott. You don’t belong at newman. You never have and never will. You belong with your family and your family’s business.

Diane: Jack, you need to calm down.

Jack: I am trying.

Diane: Well, maybe there wasn’t any damage done. Devon probably just thought that billy was venting about tucker.

Jack: Yeah, I seriously doubt that. Besides, that isn’t the point. I don’t know if I can trust him anymore after this. He always thinks he’s right, he doesn’t listen and it always ends in chaos.

Diane: So, what are you gonna do?

Jack: I don’t know. Right now, I am leaning towards cutting the cord and letting him go.

[ Jack exhaling ]

Billy: Can I get a single malt neat please? You can make that a double.

[ Billy exhaling ] Thank you.

Jack: Hey, I have a long track record in business and maybe you’ve heard about it. There’s not a corporate boardroom situation that I have not faced. I would like to be there to help you, if you could use some help.

Billy: Right. Of course, jack,; cause where the hell would I be without the wise, wise words of mr. Jack abbott.

Jack: It’s this endless effort to find a safe place to land about unresolved issues?

Billy: What are you– what are you talking about? Unresolved issues with what? With you? With dad? With mom?

Jack: I don’t know. It could be any of those.

Billy: You’re reaching, okay? You know what? Maybe it’s you with the unresolved issues. Maybe you’re questioning me in the corporate world because you’re scared I’m gonna outshine you.

Jack: I trust you. I know I can count on you.

Billy: Your instinct is–

Jack: You have proven time and again–

Billy: It’s your instinct. You fully believe that I’m just gonna fall right back where I came from. That’s not surprising whatsoever because you don’t trust me and you never have.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

e[ Strumming guitar ] Psst! You talking to me? Yeah. Just making sure that the coast is clear. No granny sightings? Tracy? No, no, she’s not here. If I’m playing my guitar, you can rest assured that tracy is nowhere in the vicinity. She’s having a hard time wrapping her head around the fact that I’m eddie, not ned. She gave me an earful yesterday about the evils of the music industry, so…

[ Chuckles ] I bet she did. Yeah. I hope you didn’t listen to her. Oh, no, not even close. I actually have an important meeting today that, if all goes well, you will be looking at a successful music manager. Oh. “My beautiful date”? Marshall’s right about one thing. But do you think this is a date? Well…

[ Chuckles ] If it gets us free drinks, I don’t see why not.

[ Knock on door ] Ah. Hi, anna. Hi. Um, I’m so sorry to interrupt. Oh, not at all. Not at all. I was just waking up from a [Chuckles] Late night at the savoy. What brings you by this morning? Well, I was, um, wondering whether i would be allowed to look at the security footage from the corridor outside the suite where we were staying. Why do you want to look at the security footage? Why? Because of the break-in. What break-in? She’s still sleeping. Oh, good. How was she after I left last night? She was fine. She just stayed in her room after you left. Good. Thank you, by the way. Yeah, of course. I love charlotte. She is welcome here anytime. You know that. I know. I-I just didn’t give you much of a heads-up, and I appreciate it. Gave me a chance to make some arrangements, though. Arrangements for what? I mean, valentin, what are you gonna do about charlotte targeting anna? Yes, I’ll accept the charges. Drew: Carly.

Hey, good morning. Aw, it is now that I hear your voice. Are you staying safe? Doing my best. I miss you. Believe me, I miss you, too. How’s it going? Do you have any news or information for me to give to sonny? Not yet. I am, uh… I’m still working on it. Good morning. Ah! The delightful ms. Miller. Robert, flattery will get you everywhere. Hmm. I see you’ve come out for work. Well, you said this was a working breakfast. I did. Uh, please, sit. Yep. So what case are we working on? Well, I may have found a way to help drew, and I get to see you at the same time. Well, either way, you have my attention. Hub. Tenth floor. L-let me transfer you to the icu. Willow! It’s so good to see you. I’ve thought about this day a lot, especially during my treatments. I used to watch the nurses, picture myself working alongside them again, and now I finally am. Yes, you are, and everyone on staff couldn’t be happier to have you back working with us. We really missed you. Thank you, deanna. I missed all of you.

[ Telephone rings ] Your first call back. You want to take that? Absolutely. Tenth floor nurses’ station.

[ Cellphone rings ] Hey.

Where are you with the subpoenas? I’m working on getting gladys’ bank records. Hopefully soon. Okay, well, what about the toxicology report? That subpoena is gonna take a little bit longer. That’s time sasha doesn’t have.

I, um… I asked around, put some feelers out, but unfortunately I haven’t come up with anything yet. Oh, drew, be careful, please. I mean, if you feel like things are getting dangerous, I want you to back off. I will. Promise me.

I promise. Now, enough about me. How are you? Yeah, I mean, I’m doing fine. Except I hate that you’re not here. I know. How are the girls? They’re great. I mean, donna and josslyn are doing great. What about you? Have you seen scout and sam? Well, scout just started school. I mean, she’s really busy. She’s got homework and soccer practice and swim lessons. And so, no, I haven’t seen much of her, but I guess that’s probably for the best. You know what? I have diane working every angle to get you out of there. But until then, you can’t cut yourself off from the people who love you, especially scout. What have your sleuthing skills sussed so far? I did a bit of back checking on judge kim. And? Well, it seems that he’s, uh, pushing for a promotion to the second circuit court of appeals. Oh-ha-ha. Well, appearing to be tough on major crime — that would endear him to the second circuit court. But — but why go after somebody like drew, give him an overly harsh sentence? Forget about drew. Think about his girlfriend and her ex-husband. Once again, all roads lead to sonny. Valentin

and I weresupposed to have dinner in the hotel restaurant last night, and we changed our minds, decided to order room service. And then by the time we got to the suite, someone had broken in. What? I know. Oh, anna. I — well, I filed a report with the pcpd. Surely — I-I’m so sorry that this happened to you at my hotel. No, it’s not your fault. You — this is the first I’m hearing of this, honestly, and which is very strange, because nina is usually very good about — about communicating with me about hotel business. Did she leave a message somewhere or something? It’s possible, but she didn’t communicate with me directly. I mean, as I said, I was very distracted last night. Let me see. Maybe she left a message on my business line, but… I just want to apologize on behalf of the metro court hotel. Is there anything at all that I can do for you? I mean, you know, whatever you need. I assume you’ve been moved into a different suite. Oh, yes. Yeah. Your staff were great. They moved us almost immediately, and I’m fine. Really, I’m — thank you, though. Any idea who might want to do this to you? Yeah. I mean, it’s possibly the same person that burned my house, I think.

[ Sighs ] Anna, I’m sorry. If there’s anything that you need, I’m here for you. Yes, there’s something you can do. Name it. So, the security footage. Yeah. I was told it’s missing, and I-I just wanted to make sure there’s no misunderstanding.

[ Chuckles ] Missing? No. We have a state-of-the-art security system here. I can assure you of that. All right, well, if you can access the footage — but if it is missing… mm-hmm. …Maybe you can pull it up from another source, like the mainframe server or something? Okay, about, uh, what time did the break-in happen? Between 7:00 and 9:00 P.M., I’d say. All right, and I am just… looking up what suite you were staying in. What I would like is the corridor outside that suite, the footage from there, and also the surrounding area. Don’t worry, I know this will not be a problem. Thank you. Well, first, I need to keep charlotte close. I need to keep a watchful eye on her. I-I think I’ve been distracted. I’ve — I’ve obviously neglected her. Distracted, maybe. Neglecting her? No. My daughter is running around doing god knows what. She’s a child. That’s something I’ve obviously forgotten. I need to spend more time with her. You’ve always put charlotte first. You always have. Have I? Have I? ‘Cause I don’t think she feels that way. And now she’s targeting anna for my absence. Well, your daughter is gonna need more than just time with her dad. At some point, you are going to have to confront her about everything that she has done. I know. But first, I need to know the extent of my daughter’s crimes. If we can get the bank statements, it could provide circumstantial evidence. But I bet — I bet you those statements are gonna show that gladys withdrew a ton of sasha’s money. I mean, probably taken out in cash. Right. Well, if gladys was paying montague in cash, we won’t be able to prove it. And that means the only thing we have tying him to sasha and keeping her in ferncliff and almost killing her is cody. N-no. No one is gonna believe cody. Well, the other option is to try and prove that montague was giving sasha mood-altering drugs. Yeah, well, one step at a time, okay? First, we need to prove there was a drug. Mm. We’ve got to get the toxicology report. I think I have a way to get it.

Why don’t you tell meabout this meeting of yours? I could use a distraction. The lyrics just aren’t flowing for me this morning. Okay, so there is this amazing singer. Her name is blaze. She’s a total rising star, and I want to be the one to take her to the top. She is an incredible talent, like beyoncé level. Wow. She must really be something. Well, I wouldn’t be signing her if she wasn’t special. Oh, well… so she’s already agreed to work with you, then? Not exactly. We’re actually meeting today, and I am going to give her the full-court press about how she should sign with me. If she were smart, she would take the deal. You’ve got a lot going for you. Well, if all goes well, maybe I could represent you. What do you think? I’m not sure if you’d want me. Marshall ashford called this morning and offered me a gig at the savoy tonight. That’s great. Well, it is, except — well, it’s kind of stupid, but I-I promised him that I would finish this song, and I am not going to finish this new song. So my music career could be over before it even gets started. What? What is it? It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Anna, you were — you were right. I mean, the — the file containing the footage from noon to midnight is — is missing from the area around your suite. It’s, like, been wiped from the server. Could it be a computer glitch or…?

[ Chuckles ] If it is, it’s the first time that’s ever happened. Who else has access to the server it’s stored on? It’s only me and nina. I mean, hotel security can get the security footage, but they can’t have access to the server. All right, and how long do you typically archive your security footage? Three years before it’s deleted. Obviously, whoever broke into my suite, they — they hacked into your system and they deleted themselves breaking in. This does not sound like a random break-in, anna. This is obviously a professional job. Yeah, it does imply whoever’s after me is… somewhat sophisticated. The first thing I need to know is, did charlotte burn anna’s house? Oh, my god.

[ Scoffs ] I can’t imagine charlotte would do that to anyone, let alone anna. I just wish this was a mistake, some sort of misunderstanding. Oh, well, yeah, because not in 100 years would I think that charlotte would break into anna’s room, trash the place, destroy her clothes, write a threatening message. But we have that security footage. I mean, where was charlotte when anna’s house burned? She was at camp, but that’s an hour away. She could have taken a rideshare. Well, do you keep track of her rideshare history? I mean, do — do you keep track of her spending? I thought I did. I just — how could I be so stupid? No, valentin, valentin. You cannot blame yourself for any of this. I do. I do. I sent her to live with sam and dante. Who knows what she tells them that I’m okay with or not okay with? I mean, I have no idea what she’s up to when I’m not around. Carly, I wish I could talk to you all day. Carly: Yeah, I know.

Me, too. I got to go.

[ Sighs ] I love you. Same. Talk to you soon, okay? Bye. Cain. You serious about my son getting that internship at aurora? 100%. Yeah, that doctor you were asking about? Yeah. Gatlin-holt. Yes, him. I see where you’re going with this, robert. Figured you would. It’s a fascinating theory. So judge kim hands drew an overly harsh sentence, ridiculous, paving the way for the justice department to swoop in, provide carly with a deal — we will reduce drew’s sentence if, and only if, you, carly, flip on your ex-husband. There’s nothing to indicate that the justice department even know what’s going on here. It could be just the work of some overzealous judge who wants to score a few points. Either way, it could benefit drew.

[ Chuckles ] I love the way you think. Thank you. Shall we take this a step further? We still talking about the case?

[ Laughs ] We are. So, pure speculation. If judge kim is working on his own, then the justice department might want to have drew’s case reassigned to avoid even the appearance of impropriety. So my question for you is, where do I go… uh… …to do a — I-I’m gonna have to cut this short. Anna’s just arrived. Thank you. Willow. Hey. It’s so good to see you back at the hospital. Thank you, sam. It’s — I really missed it. I spent a lot of time here as a patient. It’s nice to be back as a nurse. Yeah, well, they are really lucky to have you. Uh, so what are you doing here? Is there anything I can help you with? Uh, I hate to hit you up on your first day, but, yeah, I-I do need a favor. And it’s — it’s not for me. It’s for sasha.

Okay, so your messagesaid it was important. What’s going on? Uh, you need to see this for yourself. Okay. See what? Well, why don’t you, um — ah! — Just sit yourself here. -Okay. -And I’ll join you in a minute. Wait. Where are you going? To get my briefcase and say goodbye to diane. Okay. Ah, I’m sorry, love. We got to cut breakfast short. Oh, well, love, you have been, uh, very helpful. Um, we’ll compare notes and, uh… do this some other time. That’s okay. I got it from here.

[ Stutters ] Breakfast is on me. Okay. I mean, I’ll — I’ll make it up to you. That’s okay. Totally not necessary. Come on, eddie. I know what it’s like struggling to finish a song. If the lyrics aren’t coming, you can’t force it. Your gut will tell you when it’s the right time to finish. Well, I appreciate it, but what am I gonna sing tonight? Marshall and the crowd will be expecting a new song. Well, maybe you could break out some of the classics. You can never go wrong with those. Well, I’ll figure something out. I hope you’re gonna be there. Oh, absolutely. I wouldn’t miss it. You know, I think there’s someone else who’d like to go. Maybe you can give her a personal invitation. Thanks for the advice. You’re pretty sharp, brook lynn. That blaze would be lucky to have you. This can’t be right. The security backup is even missing.

[ Sighs ]

[ Sighs ]

[ Cellphone rings ] Oh. Hey, olivia. What’s up?

Hey, nina.

Uh, anna devane

was just in my office. She was telling me all about the break-in in her suite last night. Uh, do you know anything about this? Uh, y-yeah. I-I mean, I’m so sorry. Yeah, when I found out about it, I meant to tell you, but I just got distracted by work. Well, anna asked to see the security footage from the area around her suite the night of the break-in, and it’s — like, it’s missing from the server.

I know you were

in my office last night.

Is — is there any chance

that you tried to pull up the footage and, I don’t know, you accidentally deleted it or something? Y-you’re right. I-I did — I pulled up the footage and — but you know what? To tell you the truth, it was — it was already gone. So, listen, can we just talk about this when I get into the office? I have to go. Bye. Well, hi, sleepyhead. How was your night in the guest room? Where’s papa? Anna. Hey, it’s dante. I-I just read a report that — that said there was a break-in in your suite? I kind of wish I had heard it from you and not the police report, but, uh, you give me a call when you get a chance. Okay? Thanks. Dante. The, uh, desk sergeant said you were in here. Yeah. Okay, great. W-what is it, valentin? I need to talk to you privately. Okay. It’s kind of important. What about? Charlotte. Thank you. I’ll be back in just a second. So have you or dante heard from sasha or cody? I mean, do you know if they’re still together? Is sasha okay? Uh, I, um — I can’t go into details right now, but there may be a way for you to help sasha. Sasha is one of my best friends. She has put herself on the line for me so many times. I will do whatever is needed. Okay. Um… dante and I have a theory that dr. Montague, the, um, psychiatrist who was appointed to evaluate sasha, has been drugging her, undermining her mental health, and making her appear mentally ill. Oh, my god. That’s — that’s horrible. Why would a doctor do that? Right. Sorry. You can’t go into details. You know, it never made sense that sasha suddenly went off the deep end and stabbed cody. And then being sent to ferncliff seemed so extreme. What do you need me to do? Okay, the first step is proving it, so I need a copy of the toxicology report from the day that sasha stabbed cody. Do you think you can access that? The doctor you were asking about went to solitary. Why? Who was in solitary? Bobby lennon. He attacked a guard. And that’s who the doctor was here seeing. He — wait, he was here seeing a guard? No, no, lennon. The guards beat him up pretty badly, so the warden wanted to keep it quiet. Dr. Gatlin-holt. That’s who he was here visiting? I got my information right from the warden’s right hand. Was — was he here to see anybody else? No. One and done. Wait, wait, wait, wait. Wait a second.

Why would lennon attack a guard? He would know the guard could destroy him. Well, who knows? I mean, maybe he did it to get drugs from the doctor. I mean, you’d be surprised at what a lot of guys around here would do to get drugs. Well, that’s all I got. I don’t know what else to tell you. All right. Thank you. Yeah. Well done. Thank you. And your son — what’s his name? Keith? Yeah, yeah. Keith will be well taken care of. He’ll get far more than an internship at aurora.

[ Anna sighs ] Best part of giving a gift is giving the gift. Uh, what is this? Come on, just open it. No, you’re not the gift-giving type.

[ Scoffs ] This is no time to editorialize. Just — just open it. Come on. It’s not even my birthday. Yes, well, we went to a lot of trouble. A lot of people went to a lot of trouble to get this here, anna. You are so gonna love this. Yeah. Robert. You like it, huh? Say yes. What did you do? Ah, I knew it! You’re gonna love this. Thank you.

[ Cellphone chimes ] I just sent you a picture of it. Yeah. I got it. Great. You were right. And it’s bad. It’s all set. There you go. Hey, nina. Charlotte, hi. How’s it going? How’s school so far? Hi, carly. It’s — it’s going okay. We had a little sleepover, and, of course, uh, I have nothing in my kitchen for us to make breakfast. And even if my refrigerator was fully stocked, we’d still get a better breakfast here. Hey, well, that’s kelly’s — everybody’s home away from home. So, charlotte, do you want the usual? Y-you have a usual? I have the french toast when jake and I eat breakfast here. That’s right. Extra cinnamon? Yes, please.

[ Chuckles ] Okay. What’s the occasion? What brings you here? I just wanted to see papa. I’m glad you did. What did you do today? Where have you been? I was with jake. Jake and I scootered over to the promenade at the court’s lane waterfront. Since I was close, I thought I’d visit papa. Do you guys want to see something cool?

[ Laughs ] Yeah. Jake almost fell into the fountain. And in this one, I dared him to eat all the boba from the tea.

[ Chuckles ] Oh. Nina? Uh, I’m sorry. It’s just crimson has me very distracted lately. Do you want to order something? Charlotte and I have been apart far too long. She made me realize that last night when she showed up at anna’s hotel suite. Was that after the break-in? That’s why I wanted her to spend the night at nina’S. They’re still pretty close, and I wanted her to feel assured. And going forward, I want her to feel safe and secure. So I’m taking steps for the two of us to live together again full-time. Oh. Okay. I mean, that’s great. I mean, she — she misses you. I’m grateful to you and sam. You’ve been terrific. But I have a lot of time to make up for, you know? Maybe you could, uh, let her come by and visit every once in a while. Her and rocco were getting along pretty good. Believe me, I know now more than ever how important family is to charlotte. Hey, um, what are your thoughts on that break-in? Well, I think whoever’s done this is trying to unsettle anna. And I think they’ve succeeded.

[ Sighs ] Hi, blaze. Oh, no, no, no, no, no. We’re all set. I, um — I actually just wanted to call to let you know I’m really looking forward to our meeting. I think it could be the start of something really great. Yeah, I’ll see you soon. I want to know what happened to the footage from last night. Okay, w-well, it doesn’t just disappear. How could someone get into my security system and, what, just take down the security footage? What? Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, no, no, no, no. I don’t want to hear any excuses. The metro court hotel pays your company a small fortune to take care of this stuff. It is supposed to be secure. Okay. No, I want to know what the hell happened, and I want to know who’s responsible. Yes.

[ Sighs ] What?! Bad time? I’m gonna go to the restroom and wash my hands. Oh, yeah. Okay. I’m gonna get you a menu. Okay. Does charlotte come in here frequently? She’s been here a few times since she got back from camp. Is she usually alone, or is she with someone? What are you doing? Why do you want to know so much about charlotte? Well, valentin — he’s curious, you know, about what his daughter is doing since they spend so much time apart. She’s with dante and sam. She’s fine. I-I know she’s fine, carly. But you’ve raised a teenage daughter, right? You know that they don’t tell their parents everything, especially fathers. And that is what valentin is facing with charlotte. I’ve seen her in here with jake a few times. That’s it. Is she ever alone? Maybe once or twice, I think. Ever with anyone else? Oh, my god. I’ve only seen her with jake. That’s it. Okay. Thank you. Are you two talking about me? Hey. Hey. What’s, uh — what, you got something? I did.

[ Sighs ] Read it and weep. It’s really bad. But this is the first step in proving that montague was drugging sasha. Robert: Okay, there’s a switch on the back. Okay, that’s it. Yeah, that’s it. Push that. All righty. Well, don’t just hold it. Look at the pictures I uploaded. Come on. I’m treasuring the moment. Well, that’s what the pictures are for. You’ve got to look at them. Yeah. Number two. Look at number two. You’re gonna love it.

Love, love, love

the quiet’s getting way too loud

’round here

for a while that’s — that’S…

I want to live like every coast is clear

I could see the stars

from every side of this big world of ours

and charming boulevards

Sorry. That was very rude. I don’t want to seem unwelcoming. I-I just — I’ve got a lot going on at work today. I can see that. You look, uh, intense. Is work always this stressful for you? Well, you are passionate about your music, and I am passionate about my hotel. Fair enough. Speaking of my music… what? Did you finish the song? No, no, no, no. But the end will come to me eventually. Right. And when it does, I know it’s gonna be spectacular. One can only hope. But I did take another step forward in my music career. Really? How so? Marshall ashford is as good as his word. He called me this morning and asked me to perform at the savoy.

[ Laughs ] Oh, my god! When? Tonight. Ah! Oh, my god.

[ Laughing ] That is such great news. Uh, that’S… that’s really great news. I — [ Laughs ] Congratulations. Um… I know it’s gonna be great. It’s, uh — it’s, uh — it’s gonna be a really fun gig. Um, if you’ll excuse me, please. I got — I got a lot of work to do. Hotel’s not gonna run itself, right? Yes, the patient’s being transported to radiology now. Thank you. Willow, how’s yourfirst day going? It’s great. This was the perfect day for me to return to work. Dante: What am i looking at here? Sasha’s toxicology report. Wow. How did you get this?

[ Chuckles ] All right, so she’s got two drugs in her system. Yeah, the fluoxetine, which is an antidepressant she already had a prescription for, and dextroamphetamine. And when taken in combination with the antidepressant, it can cause hallucinations, paranoia — similar symptoms to a psychotic break. The dextroamphetamine must have been the drug that dr. Montague gave her to finally put her over the edge. Amazing. So how do we prove it? Drew. What do you want, cyrus? I wanted to warn you. Warn me? About — about what? The warden’s on a tear. Why? Rumors are circulating that she’s up for a big job. She can’t have anything happen that makes her look bad or incompetent. I’m hearing she’s putting the place on lockdown to make sure there are no incidents and nothing goes wrong. Lockdown? That’s go– that’s gonna put everybody on edge. Well, just keep your head down. Stay invisible. Yes, we were talking about you. About what? About how it seems like you have grown up overnight. You know who you remind me of at your age? Who? Lulu. Do you really think I’m like my mom? Oh, yeah. I know you adore your dad. But don’t forget, you’re a spencer, too. Oh, um, if you excuse me. Hey. Well? I just came from a chat with robert scorpio. Okay. I could really use some good news. He gave me a little insight as to why judge kim might have handed such a harsh sentence down to drew and what we can do about it. You miss your mom. Every day. I-I promised her I’d take care of rocco and not to worry about us and just to get better. But it still makes me sad she’s still in a coma. I know. But I always feel better when I’m with my papa.

[ Laughs ] Yeah. Guess what? What? He says we’re gonna to be together full-time. Great. Great. And anna? Yeah. That’s okay.

[ Laughs ] Oh, it’s the most perfect present. Thank you so much. Ah! What inspired you to do that? Well, you lost all that stuff in the fire. In fact, you were more upset about losing those pictures than you were about losing the house. I know. You can replace the house. Eh, I called in a few favors. I got everyone to go back through phones, albums, computers, anything — go back as far as you like and then go back further.

[ Laughs ] Ah, you are brilliant. When you’re right, you’re right.

[ Laughs ] This means the world to me. And you mean the world to me. I’m so glad that you like it. I love it. I’m probably gonna look at it, like, a couple of thousand times tonight [Laughs] And maybe some more in the morning.

[ Laughs ]

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

Okay, classic John Black. You tell me to meet you here, if you need to talk, and then you don’t talk. I will, I will, I will. I just, um, don’t know exactly where to start. So this is serious, huh? Sorry, man. Take your time. Sure. Joseph Bell. That John Bell guy who was in your dad’s unit in Korea? Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Doc and I had a long talk with him. And did he remember your father? Steve, that man is my father.

You’re still at the office? That’s why I called. Did you forget that my folks are coming over for dinner? Yes, Steph, I’m sorry. I’m gonna be there. It’s just, you know, this place has been crazy with Maggie on her evening leave. I just have one email to send and then I’ll be home. Chad? Yeah? Did I sound to you just now like a nagging housewife?

I feel like I sounded like a nagging housewife just now. Hey, you gonna, um, you gonna meet me at the door with a rolling bin?

Um. Do you need me to pick up anything on the way home? No, we’re good. Uh, there’s someone at the door. I love you. Love you too.

Vivian Alamein. What are you doing here? Well, is that any way to talk to your new boss?

Ah, there you are. Uh, I thought maybe a cup of tea would calm my nerves. Darling, it’s going to take more than a cup. It’s going to take an entire pot. You’ve really been put through the wringer. Yeah, it sure feels that way. Julie, I can’t thank you and Doug enough for letting me stay here. You don’t have to thank us.

You’re our family. You looked a little grim when you came in here. Is, uh, is that for me? It’s a registered letter. It’s from Vivian. Oh, so…

What, uh, fresh hell is this? Gosh,

you guys are back. Uh, what’d you find out, any leads? It’s getting so late, I was getting worried that Carissa, cut the act. We know what you’ve been up to.

Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives.

I, I can explain that. Oh, don’t bother. The guy at the front desk already told us. What, he did? Yeah, he wanted to confirm my order. Champagne, Duck larange, and a petrushian beluga caviar. Oh, that. Oh, that, yeah, just the caviar, Theresa, costs a thousand dollars an ounce. There’s a little duck left. Did you even bother looking at the right side of the menu, or?

No, I was hungry. Look, I tried to order moustika and some ouzo and baklava, and you didn’t have it on the menu. Not the baklava and moustika part, and so I just had to come up with alternatives. And, you know, damn it, none of this just let me come with you. You didn’t get what you wanted, so you just decided to spend other people’s money, you know.

Changed. A bit. Spare me the litany of my shortcomings, Brady. Alright, why don’t you tell me what happened? Did you get any leads with that guy Constantine? Did you figure out what was happening with Victor before he died?

Okay, do you want me to open it? You want me to tear it into a million little pieces? No, I have to know what she’s up to. Dear Mrs. Horton. Mrs.

Kariakis.

I’m writing to inform you that I am removing you from the position of Chief Executive Officer of Titan Industries, effective immediately. Firing you? She’s firing you?

New boss. What the hell are you talking about? It’s simple. Maggie is out, Vivian Cariocas is in. Vivian Cariocas? Yes. You see, Victor’s and my divorce was never finalized. So I was still married to him when he passed. Maggie was just a kept woman. Bull. And not only am I Victor’s widow, but I’m his sole heir.

Because he had the will and testament destroyed before he died.

Sorry for Maggie. Oh, now all I want to know is, are you going to be on the unemployment line with her, or are you going to be my number two when I execute my new plans for Titan?

Wow. So, the guy with the memory loss isn’t Joseph Bell. He’s the real Timothy Robichaud? And the man that I know as Yeo Ling is the real Joseph Bell. Turns out, he just switched dog tags with my… My dad. So strange to hear myself say my dad. I bet. Anyway… Yeah, they served in the same unit together. In fact, they were in the same foxhole together in Korea when they took a direct hit.

My father got the worst of it. Traumatic brain injury, caused the amnesia. He said he felt like he was gonna die, and he asked Joseph Bell for help. But instead, Bell just simply switched out the dog tags. Sounds like a real yo lang move. He was probably thinking about desertion for a while. My dad gets hit, he realizes, hell, it’s gonna be a lot easier to pull off if I can leave a dead body behind with his tags on it.

So he screws up your father’s life. Until he meets you.

It’s pretty amazing, isn’t it? Yeah, it’s amazing. And miraculous. I mean, uh, Timothy Robichaud just happens to come to Salem. He just happens to be treated by Kayla and Marlena. Who just happens to be married to a private investigator and turns out to be his son.

He’s a great guy. Stevie, he’s, he’s, he’s charming, he’s funny. Doc and I, we love having him with us. All the kids met him, they love him too. He’s just got this, he’s got this incredible spirit. I’m so happy for you now. Really. After all the crap you’ve been through. You deserve a dad like that. Ah, thanks partner, but you know, it’s not what I deserve, it’s what Timothy Robichaud deserves.

I mean, everything he’s been through, everything he’s been deprived of. You know, Doc and I, we just made a decision. We’re just, we’re gonna dote on the guy. We’re just gonna like, try to spend as much time with him as possible. Can’t wait to meet the man. Your you go.

Damn. Oh, yes. Thank you so much. Well, cheers. Cheers. Um, I love what you’ve done with the place. Mm. It’s a work in progress, but it’s definitely coming together. Where are the kids? I fed them and put them to bed already. Oh. Where’s Dad? Uh, well, John wanted to see him about something, but he’ll be alone. Yeah, Chad got held up too.

He’s, uh, pretty much running Titan with Victor gone and Maggie out on leave. I can imagine. Um, you know, I know it was for a sad occasion, Victor’s funeral, but, um, seeing Teresa was great, wasn’t it? I mean, did you get a chance to spend some time with her before she went to California? Uh, actually, she’s not going back to California.

She told me she’s staying here for a while. Oh, let me guess. She’s going after Brady again. Actually, uh, she has set her sights on someone new. Really? Who? Alex. Ah. And as I told Teresa, I would be totally cool if they started dating. Are you sure about that? Why wouldn’t I be? Well, I just think that it can be pretty dicey, you know, when relatives date the same guy.

And I, I do know from experience because I almost lost my relationship with Kim when I got involved with Shane after I thought your dad had died. Well, that was different. Uncle Shane is the love of Aunt Kim’s life. Alex is just an ex boyfriend. An ex boyfriend that you still see quite a lot. Because we’re neighbors.

But, Mom, in case you haven’t noticed, I’m with Chad. And I am totally committed to him. Great. Great. I’m just wondering, what is totally committed mean to you? I mean, do you see yourself marrying Chad?

So is it true? Yes, I just received a registered letter firing me. And that succubus is already at the office. She’s not wasting any time, is she? Maggie, I’m so sorry. Yeah, so am I. Well, is there anything I can do for you? No, Julie’s taking good care of me. But Chad, um… Yeah? Do what you have to do. Working for Vivian doesn’t mean you’re betraying me.

But, uh, Chad? Yeah? Maybe you could find out what she’s up to.

I will do.

Well, welcome to Titan. So, you were, uh, you were telling me about your vision for the company. What did you have in mind? Well, I want to honor Victor’s legacy. Take Titan back to its roots, uh, following his footsteps, so to speak. That’s a good idea. We should go to Greece and pick olives for three years. Try not to fall off a ladder.

How droll. I mean it. How do you think Victor got his empire? Shipping. And how did he get the capital? I don’t know. I do. Drugs.

You’re not talking about pharmaceuticals, are you? Street drugs. Is this, uh, uh, some kind of joke? Your big plan for Titan is to start laundering drug money? That’s, that’s, that’s insane. You know, I’m losing patience here. Titan is going to go back to selling illegal drugs. Now, are you on board or do I have to fire you?

No, you don’t have to fire me, Vivian. I quit.

So, according to this, she’s only giving you two weeks severance pay, is not picking up any of your sick days, and I suppose there’s not going to be any golden parachute. Yeah, you got it. She can’t get away with this one. I’m calling Justin. There’s nothing. That Justin can do. Okay, how about all those people on the Titan board?

Don’t you see? There wasn’t a will. So Vivian is Victor’s sole heir. Therefore, Titan’s majority shareholder. She has all the power. She can get rid of any board member who crosses her. Dear God, Maggie. So let’s face it, Julie. That woman can do whatever the hell she wants with Victor’s company, and there’s not a damn thing we can do to stop her.

So, speaking of fathers and sons, how’s Tripp holding up with Abel in the lab? Well, he’s worried, of course. But he’s hopeful his mom will be brought back safely. Mm hmm. Now, what are you gonna do? You planning on going out there and tracking down Abe and Michaels yourself? Brave asked me to sit this one out.

Thinks I’m too close to the situation because of Tripp. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I can understand all that, but I know you’re itching to get your butt out there, right? You know I am. Mm hmm. Well, my son, Brady, he’s in Greece right now with his cousin Alex. They’re, um, looking into Victor’s last days. Well, you’re the private detective.

Why didn’t you go? I figured they could handle this one on their own. Besides, they don’t need a third wheel to tag it along.

I don’t see how it’s any of your business at all. Come on, we’ve been over this, Brady. Victor’s legacy impacts our son, Tate Securiox II, or have you forgotten that already? No. Brady, it’s not like it’s a state secret or anything. We might as well just tell her. Thank you, Alex. Fine, fine. Tell her. Tell her everything.

So this guy Constantine Malionis, he did meet with Uncle Vic before his crash. He said that something was really upsetting him and that he was really troubled. Is that it? Did he mention why Victor destroyed his will? No, he did not mention anything about the will, but he did say something about a letter.

A letter? What letter? Well, Constantine didn’t remember, but Brady remembered that your Aunt Kayla went to the home where Uncle Vic was born. And she saw a box full of letters in his wine cellar. So we checked it out, but we didn’t find anything. And I mean, we tore this place up, but no letters.

Well, um, maybe they’re in here.

That is my grandfather’s briefcase. What the hell are you doing with it? My dad delivered it while you two were out. Your dad? Shane, Shane was here and you’re just now telling us this? Well, I wanted to hear about your meeting first. Theresa, what, what, okay. What did he say and why did he have that? Look, the ISA recovered it from the wreckage from the plane crash and I’m thinking maybe Victor put those letters in on Kayla told you about.

Maybe she put them in here. She may be right. She may, yeah. Um, let’s open it. We’re gonna open it. I don’t think that’s a good idea.

You know, I heard that Victor had ordered his will destroyed right before he died. And also that Vivian showed up claiming to be his widow. Do you have any idea what she might be up to? Well, she either wants to establish a foundation for the betterment of mankind or she wants to suck every dime she can get out of Maggie’s inheritance.

I’d say it’s the second one. What was Vic thinking about anyway? Why would he have that will destroyed? He never would have done that if he thought he was still married to Vivian. That woman is not only crazy, she’s dangerous. Which is why you should watch what you say in public. John. Oh, still slumming, I see.

Marriage? Mom, where is this coming from? Chad and I just moved in together. But you didn’t just move in with Chad. You moved in with his kids. We decided they’re still too young to have a place of their own. Which results in them becoming very attached to you. And vice versa. But, what has that got to do with marriage?

I just think you and Chad need to look at it from their point of view. I mean, you are making meals for them. You’re tucking them in at night. Because I’m seeing their father. Well, isn’t marriage the next logical step? The next logical step for me, Chad, and the kids, or… Or my meddling, if well meaning, Catholic mother.

This has nothing to do with me being Catholic. Well, you’re starting to sound like Grandma Caroline talking about how men won’t buy the cow if they get the milk for free. No, no, no. It is nothing about that. I tell you, I just, I just worry about loss for those kids. And, and I want you to be happy. Don’t you want to marry Chad?

Mom, yes, of course I want to marry Chad, okay?

Theresa, I don’t give a damn what you think. Okay, this belongs to my grandfather and I have a right to know what’s inside it. But my dad specifically said he wanted Victor’s briefcase delivered safely to Maggie. He thinks she should be the one to open it.

Alright, maybe, perhaps. Fine, we’ll, we’ll open it when we get back to Salem. That’s All right, well, then we’re done. We’re done. We might as well go back home. All right, I’m, I’m gonna go pack. Oh, no, no, no, dude. It’s already after midnight. Dude, there’s not gonna be any flights until tomorrow morning. So let’s just get some sleep, and we’ll get up when we leave first thing.

Yeah? All right. I already checked. There’s plenty of seats available on the early flight. Plenty of seats? Fine, we’ll leave in a couple hours. It shouldn’t make much of a difference. Uh, have a good night. See ya.

Where do you think you’re going? Where else? With you, to your room. Like hell you are.

Chad, you’re home. Hey. Hi. I’m gonna, um, I’m gonna, I’ll, if you want, I can leave and then you guys two can, uh, you two can finish your conversation. Oh, don’t be ridiculous. My mom was just being mom. Oh. Uh, anyway, my dad’s going to be here soon. How about a glass of wine while we wait? That’d be great. Um, why don’t you tell us about your day?

How was it? Um, yeah, it was, uh, it was okay. Until, um… Vivian Halloween showed up.

John, my darling nephew. I’m so happy to see you. Even though you didn’t come to visit me one day in prison. Well, I would have, but I didn’t want to. Well, John, as much as I would love to. Stay and catch up with you and Auntie Viv. I gotta go. Stephanie and Kayla are probably wondering where I am. Yeah. But hey, congratulations, man.

Really. Thanks, partner. Yeah. Best to the family. John, are you surprised to see me? No, no, no. I knew you were here. And I also know that you inherited Victor’s entire estate. Yes, it was such a lovely surprise. Yeah, for you perhaps, but not so much for Maggie. Oh, well, you know Maggie, long suffering, but oh, enough about her.

But I have a proposition for you. Yeah, and that would be what? I want you to come and work for me

at Titan. First Vivian steals your home, now she wants to destroy your career. Gotta admit, the old hag has got a lot of ambition.

Worry not. Worry not. I meant it when I said I was gonna help you find the way to fight this. I know you did. Meantime, you always have a home with Doug and me. I appreciate that. But I really should start looking for someplace of my own. Nonsense. Grandma Alice would be whirling over in her grave if she thought for a minute you were alone at a time like this.

Well, the Horton family is not rich and powerful and… Nasty, like the cariocases, but the hortons stick together like glue. Would you? You don’t know what that means to me right now. Good. Okay, have you heard from Brady? Have you heard from Alex? No. No no’s is good news, right? Oh, Julie, I swear to God, if they read Victor’s will and told me that he didn’t have a dime to his name, that he blew it on private planes and Greek statues, and that I was flat broke, I would have thrown my head back and laughed.

But the thought that that venal, evil woman It’s claiming that she is Victor’s widow, stealing everything that he worked so hard for. Brady and Alex, they… Damn it, Julie. They’ve got to find something to stop her. They have to. From your lips, darling. Yeah.

Well, I can’t stay here, Brady, with Alex. I barely know him. That didn’t used to matter to you. God, Brady. I was a little below the boat. Sigh.

Look, we share a child, we can share a room. Theresa. No. Brady, you know what? If you’re worried about protecting your virtue, I’m not interested in sleeping This has nothing to do with my virtue. It’s not a good idea. I don’t want to be alone with you, okay? Brady, lighten up. Alex, please, stay out of this.

Listen, I’m gonna say this to you as well as I can, I don’t think you’re getting this. These delusions of you and I getting back together, Teresa, that’s what they are, they’re delusions. It’s not gonna happen, and what is happening here is you’re coming across desperate and pathetic, and it’s embarrassing for everybody, so please don’t do it anymore.

Just stop. Good night.

Are

you alright?

Not really.

Vivian fired Maggie and is taking over for Titan? Effective immediately. And you quit your job? I had to. Her new business plan is to start moving illegal drugs for Titan. You’re right. You had to quit. Huh. It’s probably your dad. I’ll get it. I’ll get it. Okay. Hi. Sorry I’m late. Hey. What’s going on? It’s like a Morgan.

Chad just quit his job because Vivian Allemane is now in charge of Titan. Damn that woman. No wonder she seems so pleased with herself.

You want me to be your COO? Yes! I made a couple of suggestions about the direction I wanted Titan to go in and Chad DeMera just f ed up and quit. And you were the first person I thought of to replace him. But I have a job. Oh, please, that detective agency. John, you’re an alimane. By adoption. But you have grander things to do than run around Salem photographing philandering husbands.

But I don’t want grander things. I’m happy with the job that I have. Isn’t there anything I can do to change your mind? Hmm. Actually, there is. Uh huh. Every man has his price. Give Maggie back her house. It’s my house. It’s not your house. We both know Vic wanted Maggie to have that house. Well, then he shouldn’t just destroy the will.

Damn it, Vic, for once, just once, will you do the right damn thing? Come on. I would like to. But the fact is, my lawyer told me that if I give Maggie one dime of Victor’s fortune, that will acknowledge that she has access to my husband’s fortune. I can’t do it. Well, looks like you’re gonna have to find yourself another corporate stooge then.

Who? It’s

okay. It’s okay. Look, Theresa, hey. Hey. Brady did not mean what he said. Yes, he did. No, he didn’t. No, he didn’t. He’s jet lagged and he’s worried about Auntie Maggie. You can’t take anything he’s saying right now to heart. He just said what everybody else thinks about me. And that I’m an awful person, that I’m, that I’m unlovable.

No, no, no, no, no, no. That is not true. That is not true at all. Hey, like I said, Brady is off his game right now. That’s all. I mean, the guy lost custody of his daughter. He lost his grandfather. Vivian is making Maggie’s life a living hell, you can’t listen to what he’s saying right now. That’s it, you know, he’s lashing out and he should not be lashing out on you.

He said I was desperate and pathetic! Well that’s not true. He’s wrong, Theresa. You’re smart, you’re brave, and you are, hey, you’re very beautiful. You really think I’m beautiful? Have you ever looked in a mirror? I think you do. I

think… That’s a little better, right? Give it a good look. Thank you. You’re welcome. Thank you for being here with me. I don’t know what I’d do if you weren’t here.

Uh, you know, maybe, maybe it’s because I’m in PR and cautious by nature, but if you are wanting to trade in illegal drugs, isn’t it usual to want to keep that quiet? Yeah, well, our Vivian sure thinks outside the box. Maybe I should call her and pitch her an ad campaign. If you’re thinking drugs, think Titan.

Titan wants to take you higher.

I love how you two make each other laugh. You know, there’s no greater sign of compatibility. Yeah, well, we make each other chuckle here and there. So well. Kids thinking about getting married any time soon? Steve. What? What’d I say?

Knock, knock. Who the hell let you in? Well, I rang the doorbell, but I assumed your staff was off for the night. What do you want, Vivian? Well, I brought these to you, these hideous figurines. Well, I was going to toss them. I thought you might want to donate them to charity. Because you’re going to need, possibly, a tax deduction.

I remember how much you enjoyed throwing Maggie out of her own house. Now, it’s my turn to throw you the hell out of mine! Unhand me!

God, give me strength.

Hey, Brady, how’s it going, kid? Hey, Dad, uh, good news. Listen, uh, no luck with Constantine, but the ISA found Grandfather’s briefcase in the plane wreckage and Shane brought it over to the hotel. Ah, that is good news. What was in it? Not sure. Uh, apparently Shane wanted Maggie to open it. Apparently? What, you didn’t talk to him?

No. He handed the briefcase off to somebody else.

Um, Um, Um,

Um,

Um,

Yeah, yeah.

[ Knocking on door ]

Hope: Dad.

Finn: You want me to cut ties with my birth mother and deny she exists.

Li: You’ve got to start thinking clearly, Finn.  Sheila will destroy everything you love and value. She’ll ruin the rest of your life. I know I raised a man  smarter than this. You have to see that if you don’t cut Sheila out of your life immediately, you will lose Steffy and your children forever.

Douglas: How do you draw like this?

Thomas: Uh, that’s a great question. I’m not sure actually. I can tell you that your mom has, don’t tell her this, been always my biggest source of inspiration.

Douglas: Wouldn’t it be fun if you and Mom could take Beth and me to the beach soon? We could have a picnic. Watch the sunset.

Thomas: Yeah. Yeah, that’d be great. That’d be a lot of fun.

Douglas: Mom’s the happiest when family’s together.

Thomas: Yeah. Hey, look, you know, your mom and I, we love you very, very much always wanna spend time together, all three of us, right? But sometimes we don’t always get what we want, you know, and we have to– we have to be patient, can’t push things. I mean, Mom is going through a lot right now. So let’s just wait, relax, and see how things turn out. Okay?

Hope: Dad?

Deacon: You better go hide. Just a second, honey. Go, go, go. Hey.

Hope: Uh, hi. What took so long?

Li: Oh, Sheila. Sheila. Sheila. I am so sick of hearing about that woman. She’s inflicted too much heartache and pain. She needs to be stopped. And you’re the only one who can get through to her and end her madness.

Thomas: Let’s get you drawing, huh? Here’s a pencil.

Douglas: Oh, I can’t right now. I’ve gotta go, actually.

Thomas: Okay, big man on campus. You got some plans? What’s going on?

Douglas: Well, I’m grabbing a ride with Aunt Donna. We’re gonna hang out before she drops me off at Mom’s.

Thomas: Oh, okay. Uh, no worries. But– but just say, before you go, everything’s gonna be all right, your mom and I, we love you very much and that’s never gonna change. And if your mom and I are meant to be together, everything’s gonna fall into place. Okay?

Douglas: I love you too, Dad. And I agree. I believe our family will fall right into place.

Finn: I will do anything for my family, Mom. Sheila won’t ruin it for me. I promise you that.

Li: I want to believe you. I’ve always had faith in you. My beautiful, brilliant son.

[ Li chuckles ]

Li: But I can see that she has a hold on you. You must break that hold. I am not leaving until you tell me Sheila is going to be out of our lives once and for all. I need to see that you know what needs to be done.

Hope: What’s going on, Dad? You seem a little bit distracted.

Deacon: No, I was gonna, uh, jump in the shower. What are you doing here? Why did you come over? I mean– I mean, I’m always happy when you come over. I just– sit down.

Hope: Oh, okay. Oh, well, um, it’s been a minute and I just wanted to check in on you… and besides, Beth and Douglas are missing their mermaid Grandpa.

Deacon: Ah, that’s merman.

Hope: Oh, I’m sorry. Well, we would like to have the merman over for dinner sometime soon, so….

Deacon: I would love that. I– I would really love that. Thank you. Um, I miss them and– and– and I miss you, too. Just been thinking about you a lot lately. I’ve been a little worried.

Hope: You’re worried about me?

Deacon: Yeah, I mean, Hope, you’re my daughter. I– I know I haven’t always been around as your father but, you know, your– your marriage is ending and it’s– it’s gotta hurt. Liam’s been a big part of your life.

Hope: And he still will be. He’s an amazing father and i have no doubt that we are going to co-parent well together.

Deacon: Just sounds kind of sterile.

[ Hope chuckles ]

Hope: Well, it’s not what I wanted for myself. But you have to take what life throws at you, right? And besides, you know, things– things happen and, um, I’ll be fine. I can take care of myself.

Deacon: Well, you don’t have to, you know that? I mean, look, honey, I get it. I get that you’re strong, and you’re independent, and I suppose that probably comes from not having your father around. But I’m here now. I want you to know you’re not alone. You come here any time you want. I’m here for you. No one and nothing is gonna interfere with our relationship. You hear me?

Hope: I hear you.

[ Cell phone chimes ]

Hope: Let me just check, it might be work.

Deacon: Yeah.

Hope: Oh, um, okay. I– I know that I said I wanted to hang out but I– I think this is important. I– I think everything’s okay. I just– I think I need to take care of this, Dad. I’m so sorry. I know I just got here.

Deacon: No, it’s okay. It’s okay. I’m just glad I got a chance to see you. Let’s catch up soon, okay? And that dinner, I would love that and I love you.

Hope: I love you, too.

Deacon: Okay.

Hope: All right. See you soon, okay?

Deacon: Yep. That was close. That was too damn close. Sheila, we can’t do this anymore.

Li: I’m so blessed to have you as my son. You’re the greatest joy of my life. But it’s still so upsetting that your father’s affair brought that psychopath into our lives.

Finn: I feel– I feel guilty.

Li: Never. No, you are innocent. You always have been, even now. It’s only natural to want to know where you came from. This is your father’s doing. He let Sheila turn our lives upside down by betraying me. Your family is torn apart. Your wife and children are halfway across the world to stay away from that monster.

Finn: Yeah. I’m gonna fix this. I will not let you or Steffy down. And I will not allow Sheila to keep me away from my wife and my kids any longer.

Sheila: Okay. Deacon, come on. Take a deep breath. She didn’t see us. Nothing happened.

Deacon: Nothing happened? Sheila, we were seconds away from getting caught. Thank god that door was locked. If she– if had seen us together–

Sheila: No, but she didn’t see us together. It’s okay, she has no idea.

Deacon: But if she saw us together, that’d be it for me and my daughter. She’d have nothing to do with me. I mean, this– this doesn’t make sense at this point. I’m just playing with fire.

[ Sheila chuckles ]

Sheila: So what– what exactly are you saying?

Deacon: You know how I feel about you… but I can’t lose Hope. Whatever we’re doing, it ends, today.

Hope: Um, hi.

Thomas: Hi.

Hope: I got your message.

Thomas: I didn’t text you.

Hope: Yes, you did.

Thomas: No, you– you texted me.

Hope: No– no, I didn’t.

Both: Douglas.

Douglas: Oh, hey, guys.

[ Hope laughs ]

[ Thomas clears throat ]

Thomas: Okay, so let me get this straight. You texted me as your mom.

Hope: And you texted me as your dad.

Douglas: Pretty easy, actually.

Hope: Oh, okay, well, you seem to pull this all together pretty quickly.

Thomas: Well, I mean, that kind of makes sense. He is a Forrester. Forresters know how to set a very romantic scene, don’t they? Isn’t that right?

Douglas: Yeah. You know it. Dad told me that things would fall into place with our family. I just wanted to help things fall into place a little bit faster.

Thomas: Right. When I said that, I meant to be patient, right? And not expect anything too soon or at all.

Douglas: I love you both so much, you’re the best mom I know. And you’re the best dad I know. But together, well, you make each other better, ’cause that’s what family does. Right?

Finn: I swear to you, Mom, my family is the most important thing to me, and it is killing me that my wife and kids are so far away.

Li: It’s because of Sheila. Steffy loves you, she wants to come home, I know that.

Finn: You need to understand though, Mom, I am barely functioning here. I mean, I can’t sleep, my heart aches, I love Steffy. Okay? I love her. She needs to be home with me, where she belongs. This place, it’s just– it is so lonely without them. I need them back.

Li: I believe you can do it. Yes, you’re the only one that can get through to that woman.

Finn: I haven’t, um– I haven’t said this to anyone before, ’cause I’m kind of at a loss. But what happens, like– what if she won’t let go?

[ Tense instrumental ]

Li: You listen to me, your mother. I remember when you would have a science problem that would be hard to solve. Or a math theorem. You would go around and around, look at– looking at it from every angle, looking for that weak spot where you can just dig into, and expand. That’s what you’ll do. You’re going to think outside of the box like you always have, and then you’ll find the answer.

Finn: You’re right. You’re absolutely right. I have to. I don’t know how I’m gonna make that happen, but I’m gonna figure it out. I’m not gonna risk losing my family.

Sheila: So, this is it, huh? It’s– it’s over?

Deacon: God, this is– this is hard. There’s a part of me– there’s a big part of me that doesn’t want to let you walk out that door. I just love being with you. And you’re not like anyone I’ve ever met before. You’re unique and mesmerizing and… deliciously dangerous. But Sheila, for the first time in my life, I feel like I’m making something of myself. When I look in the mirror, I don’t see some loser staring back at me. And the restaurant’s rocking and rolling, and Hope, she– she respects me. My daughter– my daughter loves me. You can’t know what that–

Sheila: No, I– I do know.

Deacon: Yeah. Yeah, I guess you do. I– I can’t– I can’t mess this up, and I can’t let it go. You know, she wants to be with me, when she looks at me, it’s like– it’s like the greatest feeling in the world, you heard her. She– she wants to be with me. She wants to have dinner with me. The grandkids wanna see me. Why would I take a chance on losing that?

Sheila: You can’t. You can’t risk it. I want to be with you, too. I– I don’t want this to end, but I am so grateful for every moment I got to spend with you. Everything that you did for me. You’re incredible. And I– I don’t just mean in bed. [ Chuckles ] You’ve really shown me that it is possible to change. I mean, to earn a spot in your friends’ and family’s lives. And I– I and I can only hope that– that that really might happen for me. It’s what I want with Finn. And I– I can make that happen. I know I can, but– but even so, I– I’m so proud of you… and everything that you have accomplished, I just– I want you to have it all.

Deacon: I want you to have it, too, Sheila.

Sheila: Thank you. Thank you. I think I will. I see what you share with your daughter, and I– I hope that I have that with my son, it’s what I really want with my son, and I can make that happen. I know that I can, I– I see what you’ve done with Hope. What you’ve accomplished. I hope I might make Finn see me the way that she sees you. [ Laughs ] It– it sounds so crazy.

Deacon: No, hey, we don’t– we don’t like that word, remember?

Sheila: Yeah. You know what? Yeah, you’re right. You’re– you’re right, we don’t. But you’ve given me faith, Deacon. You’ve given me faith that this can happen. I know I can make it happen. You will be with your daughter and grandchildren. And I will be with Finn and Hayes.

[ Sheila laughs ]

Li: Listen to me. There is nothing more important for you to understand. Stay focused, you cannot give in to Sheila ever again.

Sheila: I have never been more determined about anything in my life. And you know me, when I put my mind to something I make it happen. And seeing you, your relationship with Hope, it is– it has truly inspired me. I am going to have the relationship with Finn that I’ve longed for. I can just– I can just feel it.

[ Sheila laughs ]
