Primetime TV Review: Love Can Surprise You

“Love Can Surprise You” Review on by Eva 9/20/2023

Carina (Camilla Belle) is a romance columnist who works for Sparklife. Carina thinks she is headed for marriage with her boyfriend Tom (Karn Kalra) until he suddenly breaks up with her. Camila’s boss pairs her with a new writer named Liam (David Lafontaine). Her boss thinks the romance section of the website needs a male perspective.

Carina and Liam don’t get along at first, because he is more spontaneous in his writing while she has a more serious and organized approach to her writing. Carina and Liam become friends when they work on an article about the ten best activities to do on a date. Carina tells Liam she wants to get back together with her boyfriend and Liam comes up with a plan to help Carina. Liam’s plan works and Carina’s boyfriend asks Carina for another chance and he arrives at her parents vow renewal ceremony. Carina discovers that just because her and her boyfriend seem like a good couple, it doesn’t mean they should be together.

This movie is worth watching, even though in my opinion, it would have been fun to explore Carina’s Brazilian heritage a bit more since it was mentioned that her mother was from Brazil. I also would have liked to see a bit more of the vow renewal ceremony. I really enjoyed Camila Bell in this movie.

This movie was previously released as “10 Truths About Love” in 2022. The movie is available under this title in Tubi.

If you missed the movie look on your DVR guide for the next airing because Great American Family channel airs movies several times.

I give this movie 4 out of 5 stars.

Brian Gaskill of "A Bachelor's Valentine" on Tubi

Interview with Brian Gaskill of “A Bachelor’s Valentine” on Tubi and Amazon Prime by Suzanne 3/20/23

It was great to speak with Brian. I’ve been a fan of his since he appeared as Bobby on “All My Children” years ago. His best role on soaps, in my opinion, was playing Rafe the angel/vampire slayer on “Port Charles.”  We all loved him back then because he was a great actor, and very handsome, and he had a nice smile. Now, years later, he still has all those things, but we’ve also learned that he’s a really nice guy because of what he says and how he talks to his fans on social media. He’s an even better actor, too. Please watch his movie on Tubi or Prime! It’s an enjoyable romantic film. One correction: the movie takes place in Middletown, Ohio. I said “Millstown” in the interview, for some reason.

Interview with Kristos Andrew and Mike Manning of “The Bay” on Prime, Peacock and Tubi by Thane 3/9/23

It was great to interview Mike and Kristos from the show “The Bay.” They both have Emmys because of this series.

Mike’s audio was a bit patchy at times. He meant Edinburgh when talking about Scotland.

Regarding the crying scene he’s talking about in the shower – he didn’t know if his husband was dead or alive.
