Days of Our Lives Update

Update written by Joseph

At the DiMera Mansion, Megan calls Li and tells him about EJ and Kristen refusing the breakfast that she brought them. Li assumes that being held captive is not the most enjoyable pastime. Megan remarks that they can’t have two turncoats on the loose as they cast a shadow on her bright vision for the future. Megan asks if Li has good news for her. Li confirms that he does and he’ll be leaving soon as Dr. Rolf will be arriving any moment. Megan reminds Li to make sure that Dr. Rolf knows they expect him to brainwash Harris Michaels. Megan declares that once she has Harris under her control again, nothing can stop them.

Kate meets with Harris at the Brady Pub and says they have a lot to discuss. Harris first asks if there’s any news on Abe. Kate responds that they still have nothing. Kate remarks that Megan is still free to walk the streets while a good guy like Abe is nowhere to be found.

Abe gets a headache and thinks he needs to rest. Jerry offers to help Abe up but notes that he doesn’t seem very steady and asks if he has a cane to help him out. Abe then stops and has a flashback to a conversation with Theo about his walking cane before his wedding. Abe looks confused as Jerry asks if something is wrong. Abe then declares that he’s not his son.

At the police station, Eli finishes a phone call and tells Theo to give him three minutes and he’ll come back to talk to him. Theo stops him and asks why he’s questioning Nurse Whitley about Abe. Eli explains that when he reviewed the case file, he saw that Whitley left the hospital early and he wanted to know why and she said she wasn’t feeling well. Theo asks if he believes her.

Whitley waits in the interrogation room and says with the FBI breathing down her neck, she has no choice as she declares that Abe is going to have to die.

Rafe goes to Jada’s and knocks on the door, saying she has some good news. Jada then answers the door in a towel. Rafe apologizes and says he tried calling but she didn’t pick up. Jada says she was in the shower so she’s lucky that she heard him knock.

Jerry thinks back to Whitley instructing him to improvise in his acting as Theo. Jerry tries telling Abe that it’s just his amnesia talking and insists that he is his son, Theo, but that Abe just isn’t really himself right now. Abe responds that he may not be 100% but he just now had a vivid memory of his wedding day where he was talking to his best man, his son and it wasn’t him. Jerry decides to go get him a glass of water. As he heads in to the kitchen, he texts Whitley about an emergency as Abe is saying he’s not his son.

Eli informs Theo that when a hospital employee is sick, the protocol is to leave immediately so she did the right thing but it got his attention because when Rafe questioned her, she didn’t mention it. Whitley then comes out from the interrogation room and tells Eli that she really must get home, so she asks if there’s anything else he needs from her today. Eli asks if everything is okay. Whitley repeats that her cat is sick and her neighbor has to leave, so she must get home to tend to him. Eli agrees to let her go and says if he needs anything, she will hear from him. Eli thanks her for coming in as Whitley hurries out of the police station. Theo comments on Whitley seeming super anxious.

Rafe tells Jada that he’s sorry but once he heard the news, he dropped everything and rushed over. Rafe explains that Belle came to the station looking for Jada as apparently Melinda agreed to cut some sort of deal so that Talia won’t be facing any jail time. Jada excitedly hugs Rafe and thanks him. Rafe and Jada then end up kissing.

Megan assures Li that everything is secure with EJ and Kristen, pointing out that she just sends texts from EJ’s phone to Nicole and Stefan while no one is looking for Kristen so she just put her phone in a drawer. Li repeats that he will be meeting with Dr. Rolf shortly. Megan tells Li to remind Dr. Rolf that time is of the essence, so whatever he needs, they will have it. Li brings up that there is something Dr. Rolf needs that they haven’t discussed and that’s Harris Michaels himself. Megan tells him not to worry as he’s within their grasp and then he will take out Stefan so that their hands are clean. Li declares that in her grief, Gabi will turn to him. Megan remarks that her little brother Stefan is in for quite a surprise. Stefan then walks in to the living room and questions that.

Rafe and Jada kiss until Rafe stops and apologizes, saying he shouldn’t have. Jada responds that if he hadn’t, she would have. Jada explains that she ran in to Kate downstairs and they were talking. Jada says that what Kate said really changed her perspective as she told her that what they do at work is one thing but what they do in the privacy of their own homes is nobody’s business. Jada thinks Kate is absolutely right.

Kate appreciates Harris’ concern for Abe but says they have other pressing things to talk about, like Shawn ruining his plan to grab Megan. Harris explains that Megan was armed and Shawn was drunk, so he had to get Shawn out of there as Megan could’ve killed him. Kate points out that Megan could still kill him since she’s free to create whatever chaos she wants to and she also knows that Harris is coming after her. Kate asks how they proceed now that he no longer has the element of surprise. Harris responds that he’s well aware of his situation and reveals that he already planned for his next encounter with Megan, before he even left the property.

Megan hangs up and tells Stefan that she didn’t hear him come in. Stefan questions what this big surprise is that she has in store for him. Megan responds that it’s a good surprise but Stefan is not comforted by that. Megan claims it has to do with the party that she’s planning to celebrate his engagement to Gabi. Stefan says she already told them about the party so it’s not a surprise. Megan notes that she didn’t say when it is and then suggests he not make plans for tomorrow night. Megan guesses now that he knows, she’ll have to figure out another surprise for him for tomorrow night.

Eli tells Theo that anyone would be anxious while being questioned by the FBI. Theo is uncertain and notes that she seemed super nervous when he talked to her earlier, like her hands were shaking. Theo asks what Whitley said about why she didn’t tell Rafe that she left early on the day that Abe disappeared. Eli says she just didn’t think it was important. Theo suggests maybe it was important and that’s why she didn’t say anything. Theo states that somebody took Abe from the hospital that day and Whitley is unaccounted for that day, so he hopes he’s not ruling her out.

Jerry brings Abe some water but he slaps it out of his hand and demands to know who the hell he is. Jerry continues claiming to be his son. Whitley then comes home and asks if they had fun catching up. Abe responds that they did not. Jerry tells her that there is a problem as Abe keeps saying he’s not who he says he is. Whitley insists that Jerry is Theo but Abe calls that a damn lie as he is not his son and he doesn’t even know him. Whitley offers to get him water but Abe shouts that he doesn’t want any. Abe wants the truth. Abe reiterates that he had a very clear memory of their wedding day and recalls his real son saying his best man had him covered. Abe calls Jerry an impostor and declares that now he’s starting to question everything.

Eli tells Theo that he’s not ruling anyone out just yet, including Whitley, but the issue is evidence. Theo asks about hospital security cameras. Eli says they checked and found nothing, but admits that Whitley would know where the cameras are and how to avoid them. Eli goes over her hospital record not having one negative word. Theo questions giving up on her because she’s a good nurse. Eli knows this is hard but promises that he’s not ruling anyone out just yet. Eli adds that he put in a request for a background check on Whitley. Eli suggests they go see what the FBI turned up. Eli promises that if Whitley is telling stories, it won’t hold up under FBI scrutiny. Eli and Theo then head in to the interrogation room.

Whitley tells Abe that he’s getting worked up over nothing and that there’s a simple explanation for everything. Abe argues that there is nothing simple. Whitley claims that Jerry is Theo and that Abe is remembering his other son, Brandon.

Jada tells Rafe that she would never do anything to jeopardize his career. Rafe says he was just thinking the same thing. Jada asks if Kate got to him too. Rafe explains that Eli had asked about them and guesses it was obvious. Rafe notes that Eli had been through a similar situation with Lani, although they were partners and he wasn’t her boss but they were meant to be. Rafe adds that even now, nothing can stop them as Eli is patiently waiting for Lani to get out. Rafe states that talking to Eli got him thinking that this doesn’t matter about a rule or a law as if it’s meant to be, then it will be. Jada asks if he’s saying they are meant to be. Rafe responds that he wants to find out as they kiss.

Li meets Dr. Rolf on the pier and welcomes him home. Dr. Rolf informs him that he came on Princess Gina’s submarine. Dr. Rolf talks about being wary of the authorities after deprogramming Stefan. Li comments on his skills in that department. Dr. Rolf says he can’t ask him to mess with Stefan’s brain again. Li says this isn’t about Stefan and reminds him of Harris Michaels. Li informs him that Megan needs Harris back under her control which Rolf laughs at.

Kate asks Harris how he’s prepared for his next encounter with Megan. Harris explains that after taking Shawn out of the house, he placed a tracking device on Megan’s car, so eventually she will come out and will be his.

Stefan apologizes to Megan for spoiling the surprises but guesses it’s just as well since EJ won’t be back from his business trip by tomorrow. She tells him he won’t have to worry about EJ crashing his party. Stefan notes that he would like to include Kristen though and asks if Megan has seen her. Stefan mentions that he looked in Kristen’s room, but her bed looked like it hadn’t been slept in. Stefan asks if she knows anything about where Kristen is. Megan says they can’t keep anything from him and that she’s afraid Kristen is indisposed tomorrow as well. Stefan questions how she knows. Megan claims that she saw Kristen leave, she said goodbye and left town last night. Stefan argues that ever since Kristen has been back, all she has wanted is custody of her daughter, and now she out of the blue books a vacation somewhere. Megan says she said she just left town but she hasn’t given up on her daughter. Megan says that DiMera has cannibalized all the competent lawyers in town, so she went to New York to find a custody lawyer to grind Brady in to the ground. Megan adds that she had quite a list, so she doesn’t expect her in back in the coming days or maybe weeks. Stefan questions if Kristen left last night, who the extra breakfast plate belongs to.

Dr. Rolf asks Li what Megan has up her sleeve this time since her last escapade was about an elixir for eternal youth. Li says all he knows is that she needs his special talent for her ambitious plan. Li asks if he’s up to the task of getting Harris Michaels back under Megan’s control. Dr. Rolf responds that this will be child’s play and he could do it in his sleep.

Rafe and Jada lay in bed together after having sex. They talk about it being better than imagined. Rafe asks now what. Jada wants this to keep happening for real which Rafe agrees with as they continue kissing.

Eli and Theo go over the background check on Whitley King but find nothing remarkable. Eli declares that he’s sorry but this isn’t the profile of a criminal. Eli knows Theo had his hopes up but remarks that upstanding citizens don’t just turn to crime for no reason and it looks like Whitley doesn’t have a reason.

Whitley asks Abe if that clears everything up. Abe says hell no and questions why the hell she didn’t tell him that he had another son and why she would keep that from him. Whitley knows she should’ve told him but claims he hasn’t seen Brandon since the wedding as he doesn’t approve and they had a falling out. Whitley hopes that clears everything up now. Abe guesses it does and apologizes to Jerry for being harsh on him before. Jerry claims he’s just worried about him and wants him to get better. Whitley suggests they get Jerry to the hotel to rest, so she walks him out. She tells Jerry that he’s so lucky that Abe has another son, complaining that she told him to improvise. Jerry argues that he tried. She tells him that they don’t have time to waste as there is something else she needs him to do for her. She instructs him to wait there as there’s something she has to go do first. Whitley then heads back inside with a syringe and tells Abe not to worry as it won’t take long. She claims she needs a blood sample from him for the hospital.

Rafe suggests to Jada that they never get out of bed and just leave the world behind but he knows they have jobs to do. Jada suggests at work, they are consummate professionals in the force, but behind closed doors, they are committed to each other. Rafe likes that option as they kiss. Jada reminds him they need to get back to work. Rafe says he does, but she has to get the rest that he ordered her to get as they continue kissing.

Whitley tells Abe that she will just run his blood sample down to the hospital. Abe offers to go with her but she insists that he stay and rest. Whitley assures that doing things her way will be best for all of them as she then exits. Whitley presents Jerry with Abe’s blood sample and says this is what she needs him to d.

Megan claims that before Stefan came in, her son Dimitri was there but he turned his nose up at the breakfast sausages. Stefan says that’s his loss then and eats some of it. Megan jokes that she’ll be sure to include them on the menu for his last meal as a bachelor then.

Dr. Rolf gives Li a list of the tools he will need. Li responds that they will make Harris available to him very soon.

Kate asks Harris if it’s too late to reconsider Megan’s fate, feeling that it doesn’t make any sense to make her disappear if she’s going to make her way back here. Harris gives her his word that once Megan is gone, she’s not coming back. Kate asks if that’s arrogance or confidence. Harris calls it experience. Harris then gets an alert from the tracking device that Megan is leaving the house as they speak, so he better get going. Kate wishes him luck but Harris responds that luck will have nothing to do with this as he exits the Pub.

A few hours later, Stefan returns to the living room while on the phone with Gabi and says he guesses Megan already left as he was going to ask if there’s a small chance that Kristen could appear at their engagement party. Stefan decides that he will call Kristen herself. Stefan hangs up and calls Kristen, but finds her phone in a drawer in the room. Stefan questions why the hell Kristen would go to New York without her phone.

Megan walks through the park and runs in to Harris Michaels. Megan questions if he’s following her. Harris pulls a gun on her and declares that they have unfinished business.

Kate remarks that Megan’s moments are numbered. Jada comes downstairs and comments on Kate talking to herself but she didn’t hear what she was saying. Kate claims that she was just bemoaning her son Rex rarely getting in touch with her. Kate asks about seeing Rafe leave earlier and asks if she took her advice.

Jerry meets Rafe and Eli at the pier. Rafe tells him to start from the beginning and tell them everything he saw.

Theo walks through the town square and calls Brandon, saying there’s still no news about Abe but he thinks Eli and Rafe got a lead as they rushed down to check it out without telling him much. Theo hopes they will finally get some answers.

Whitley returns home. Abe comments on her being gone a long time. She says that she wanted to wait for his test results and announces that he passed with flying colors.

Jerry claims to Rafe and Eli that he was walking and saw someone on the docks, looking totally out of it and then he stumbled, hit his head and fell in to the water. Jerry claims he can’t swim or else he would’ve jumped in after him and no one else was around. Rafe instructs him to stay there as they check this out. Eli finds fresh blood on the ground. Rafe then finds Abe’s hospital ID bracelet.

Original Star Trek

Captain James Tiberius Kirk of the Starship Enterprise

Captain James T. Kirk (portrayed by William Shatner) is the ultimate hero. Modeled in part after the literary character Horatio Hornblower, he also embodies the lawmen of 60’s TV who went with their guts as well as their heads and hearts.  Kirk is very intelligent and was the top of class as well as being the youngest officer to make captain in Starfleet. He’s shrewd and has outwitted many strange space aliens, some of whom were foes and some of whom became friends.  Although Kirk generally follows regulations, he will sometimes divert from or even ignore them, when his crew is at risk, or when he feels that the greater good is more important (such as saving people on a planet).  Kirk’s crew is very loyal to him, and he to them.  Kirk is the model of the 23rd century man who believes in humanity and peace, not brute force (for the most part).  Kirk boxes to keep in shape, so he’s able to easily defend himself.

Kirk had a son, David, a scientist who resented Kirk at first. David was a pacifist and seemed to be the opposite of Kirk in most ways. He and Kirk grew to admire each other, but then he died when the Klingons stole the Genesis device and threatened Saavik and Spock. Kirk blamed the Klingons for David’s death. He had a hard time letting go of his hatred for them.

Captain Kirk has an eye for beautiful women, but his ship, the Enterprise, is the lady he always chooses to return to. He had a long career as both Captain and Admiral. Kirk dies when he and Captain Picard fight against an evil being named Soran who tries to destroy a planetary system in order to get back to a an extra-dimensional area called The Nexus (in the movie “Star Trek: Generations”).

Mr. Spock, Science Officer of the starship Enterprise

Mr. Spock (portrayed by Leonard Nimoy) is half-human and half-Vulcan. Vulcans suppress their emotions and use logic and science in their lives. Spock is the first Vulcan to serve in Starfleet. He’s the First Officer and Science officer of the Enterprise. Although he has learned not to show his emotions, it’s clear that Spock values his friendships, including those of his captain, James T. Kirk, and Dr. “Bones” McCoy and Nurse Chapel.  Spock gave his life to save the ship when it was about to explode due to the Genesis device. He went into the anti-matter core to adjust it manually, dying of radiation poisoning (In “Star Trek: Wrath of Khan”). He subsequently was resurrected by the same Genesis device and rescued by the crew of the Enterprise (in “Star Trek 3: Search for Spock”).

Later in his life, Spock worked to reunite the Vulcans and Romulans in peace, with help from Jean-Luc Picard (In “Star Trek: The Next Generation”). He also tried to help the Romulans when their planet was threatened. He ended up accidentally creating an alternative timeline because of a vengeful Romulan, Nero (in the 2009 reboot movie “Star Trek”). Spock meets the younger version of himself and Kirk in the other reality, and they defeat Nero. However, Nero had destroyed Vulcan, so Spock remained in the alternate universe to help rebuild New Vulcan. He also aided the younger Spock and Kirk with some advice in their fight with Khan (in the 2013 film “Star Trek: Into Darkness”).

Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy of the starship Enterprise.

Dr. Leonard McCoy (portrayed by DeForest Kelley) is the Chief Medical Officer of the starship Enterprise. He calls himself “an old country doctor” because he’s from Atlanta and studied at the University of Mississippi. He was divorced at a young age and had many failed romances, perhaps because of high moral standards. He’s good friends with Captain Kirk. Where Mr. Spock is very logical, Dr. McCoy is a bit emotional (even though he’s a man of science himself). He believes strongly that sometimes the body can heal itself.  He is very folksy, and he doesn’t trust all of the modern technology, even though he uses it to save lives. He and Mr. Spock were often at odds during tense situations, and McCoy often would call Spock a freak or some other insulting term, but they came to admire and respect each other. Indeed, they became friends.

Dr. McCoy became Chief of Starfleet Medical later on in life, also becoming an admiral. He lived a long life and appeared at age 137 on the Starship Enterprise once again (in “Star Trek: The Next Generation”) to inspect the medical bay of the new Enterprise-D; he was escorted by Lt. Commander Data.

Lt. Commander Montgomery "Scotty" Scott

Montgomery “Scotty” Scott (portrayed by James Doohan) is the Engineering Officer on the Enterprise. He’s Scottish and very proud of his heritage. He’s even prouder of the ship and its engines, which he treats as if they’re his babies. He’s able to perform miracles and get the ship and its crew out of many jams. He likes to drink Scotch Whiskey or other alcoholic drinks. Scotty gets along fine with his shipmates, and he’s very loyal to them (especially Captain Kirk).

Scotty served on 11 ships in his long career. He was about to retire when his shuttlecraft was hit by a Dyson Sphere. He put himself in the pattern buffer to survive, and he was there for 75 years until revived by the crew of the Enterprise D (in “Star Trek: The Next Generation”). Scotty didn’t adjust well to life in the 25th century because his knowledge was too outdated. After helping to save the Enterprise D, he was given a small starship (called a runabout) and went off to explore space in his remaining days.

Nurse Christine Chapel

Nurse Christine Chapel (portrayed by Majel Barrett) is the nurse that assists Dr. McCoy on the Enterprise. She originally had a career in bio-research, but she abandoned it to go into space when her fiancé went missing. Once they found him, and he died, she decided to stay on the ship.  She’s a capable medical officer who does a lot to help the crew. Eventually, she became a doctor (in the movie “Star Trek: The Motion Picture”).

In the series, Nurse Chapel has a crush on Mr. Spock, who can’t return her feelings because he’s a Vulcan. She kept trying to get close to him, despite that.

Lt. Hikaru Sulu

Lt. Hikaru Sulu (portrayed by George Takei) is the ship’s helmsman. He has a background in physics and was the ship’s staff physicist when it started. Then he became the helmsman.  Sulu has many hobbies, including botany, fencing, gymnastics and ancient weaponry. He later, in the movies, became Lt. Commander, Commander and then Captain. He commanded his own ship, the U.S.S. Excelsior.

In the movie “Star Trek: Generations,” we learn that he has a daughter, Demora Sulu. Sulu is also seen in a flashback by Lt. Tuvok, who served under Captain Sulu, in an episode of “Star Trek: Voyager.” We learn nothing else about Sulu’s personal or romantic life.

Lt. Nyota Uhura Lt. Nyota Uhura (portrayed by Nichelle Nichols) is the Chief Communications Officer on the ship. She can also fill in at the helm, navigation or science stations when needed. She speaks many languages, but she mostly interacts with the technology on the ship. She is religious (Christian) and also loves to sing for the crew when off-duty (sometimes with Spock playing the Vulcan lyre). Like most of the ship’s crew, she’s very loyal to the ship, its crew and to Captain Kirk.  She comes from the United States of Africa.

When challenged, especially by obnoxious aliens, she stands up for herself as a strong woman. One alien robot, NOMAD, erased her memory, so she had to relearn her whole life (with the help from the ship’s computers). It didn’t take her long, thankfully.  She has a good working relationship with the other crew, but no mention is ever made of any romantic relationships.  When some of the crew went to the mirror universe, she flirted with the mirror Sulu in order to distract him. Nothing else is known about Uhura’s personal or romantic life.  Later, Uhura was promoted to Lt. Commander and then Captain.

Ensign Pavel ChekovEnsign Pavel Chekov (portrayed by Walter Koenig) is a junior officer compared to the rest of the bridge crew. He’s younger and more naïve.  Chekov is later promoted to Lieutenant, and then to Lt. Commander. He’s the ship’s navigator. Later, he became the ship’s tactical officer and security chief. Hailing from Russia, he enjoys making jokes about how everything is a Russian invention.  However, his youthful arrogance hides the fact that he was an honors graduate of the Space Academy and is almost as good with science as Mr. Spock.

Like Captain Kirk, Chekov always admires beautiful women and frequently flirts with them. Chekov became the Executive Officer aboard the Reliant (in “Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan”) and showed up later on the Enterprise-B as a guest on its first voyage (in “Star Trek: Generations”).  His son, Anton, became President of Earth, but nothing else is known about Chekov’s life outside of the ship.

Yeoman Janice RandJanice Rand (portrayed by Grace Lee Whitney) is Captain Kirk’s Yeoman, which is similar to a personal assistant.  Captain Kirk showed his sexist side when he was uncomfortable having a woman in that position (probably because she was so beautiful, and he had a hard time ignoring that). There is always a lot of sexual tension between the two.  Yeoman Rand seemed quiet and shy at first, but she is clearly a capable officer who frequently goes on away missions with a tricorder, and she’s able to stand up for herself when necessary.

Later, Rand became the Transporter Chief on the ship (in the movie “Star Trek: The Motion Picture”) and then a Communications Officer on the U.S.S. Excelsior (in the film “Star Trek: The Undiscovered Country”).

Lt. Arex, Navigator of the Starship Enterprise (James Doohan)Lt. Arex (voiced by James Doohan) serves as one of the ship’s navigation officers (in “Star Trek: The Animated Series”). He’ss an Edosian, and that species has 6 limbs.  He is adept at using the science station and has commanded the Enterprise a few times when the captain was away. Arex has a very high, whiny voice.

Arex is known as one of the best navigators in Starfleet and was Ensign Chekov’s instructor at the academy. Arex got his start as a technician on merchant vessels but became an officer through a field promotion. He never went to Starfleet Academy. He has had many commendations and citations for bravery and valor, but he is quiet and unassuming.

Lt. M'Ress, Communications Officer of the Starship Enterprise (Majel Barrett)Lt. M’ress (voiced by Majel Barrett) is the ship’s Operations Division Officer and frequently fills in for Uhura as Communications Officer and sometimes as Science Officer. Her species is Caitian; she has a tail and a cat-like appearance. Also, she purrs when she speaks. She is close friends with Lt. Uhura and Nurse Chapel, and she also hangs out with Lt. Arex. She has interests in anthropology, archaeology, poetry-writing and performing in plays.

Ashley: My sister meant well. But traci, she’s so sweet. She just wants jack and I to lay down our swords. But from what I can tell, it’s not working. Not even a little bit.

Tucker: So, it had no impact on you at all? Doesn’t expending all this energy on hatred just wear you out?

Ashley: What is wrong with everybody? Why can’t you see that what I’m doing isn’t because of my hatred for diane? It’s because of love for my family and my brother. I don’t get it.

Jack: Hey, I got your text. Came as soon as I could. What’s up?

Diane: Well, thanks for rushing over, but I’m afraid it might be too late.

Jack: Why? What happened?

Diane: Well, I tried to bridge the gap between kyle and summer, but the whole thing might have backfired. It just went horribly wrong and now I– I’m afraid I’ve made things even worse.

Summer: Kyle. Kyle! Can you please stop? Wait a second. Look, it’s fine if you’re pissed off and you want to storm out of society and it’s fine if you hate me right now, but please, can you just stop with this evasion and silent treatment and talk to me?

Kyle: I don’t want to discuss this right now.

Summer: Okay, then when? When are you gonna want to discuss this? Because if you’re– you’re really that angry that you– you don’t feel like you can move past this at all, then you need to step up and say so.

Abby: Yep.

[ Knock on door ] Um, I’ll get it.

Devon: You sure?

Abby: Yep. Got it.

Chance: Hey.

Abby: Oh.

Chance: I’m sorry to do this to you. I, uh, I know I’m supposed to have him for a few more days, but I just got called into a new case. Louise has the flu, so… all that’s kind of blown up my plan.

Abby: Um. Yeah. Yeah, no problem.

Chance: Yeah?

Abby: Yeah.

Chance: Thank you.

Abby: We always love having dominic at home.

Chance: Uh, yeah. Look, I’m– I’m kind of in a hurry, but there is something I’d like to talk to you about while I’m here. Uh, it’s about dominic and this whole situation. It’s just not really working out. Choosing a treatment for your chronic migraine –

Announcer: Additional sponsorship provided by…

Abby: Well, our boy knocked right out, so he must have had quite the day.

Chance: Yeah, never had a dull moment with him. That’s actually what I’d like to talk to you about.

Devon: Is something wrong with him?

Chance: No, no, everything’s fine. I just noticed that instead of enjoying the fact that he has two different places to live, I think it stresses him out. Every time we switch, he gets real fussy and uh, it’s kind of a struggle to calm him down. I won’t lie.

Abby: Oh, I– I didn’t realize.

Chance: Well, don’t get me wrong. It’s just when he first gets to my place. Once he has settled in and we’re having a good time, we got to pack his stuff up and come back here. So as much as we justify it to ourselves, I think the back and forth seems to be confusing him.

Abby: So, what are you suggesting? That we change our custody agreement?

Tucker: You have convinced yourself that you are saving jack from himself.

Ashley: Well, that’s exactly what I’m trying to do. I know that diane is a present danger, clear and present danger to our family’s company and the fact that jack doesn’t see that–

Tucker: Jack is a grown man! He doesn’t need protecting from anyone, by anyone. Least of all you.

Ashley: That’s kind of harsh, don’t you think? I mean a little–

Tucker: When did you become your brother’s keeper? If he wants to throw his life away with diane, that’s his problem. But if it causes chaos at jabot, so be it. That’s just how it goes.

Ashley: Oh, yeah, sure. Who cares, right? But it’s really easy for you to say that. It’s not your family. It’s not your father who built that company, tucker.

Tucker: Yeah, but your father’s company is now a yoke around your neck. You know, you’re just– I think you’re bigger and better than all of this pettiness. And it occurs to me that you have earned the right to call your own shots now. To build your own legacy.

Ashley: With you?

Tucker: Yes. You’re damn right. Yes with me.

Ashley: Okay.

Tucker: So what’s it gonna take to pull you across the finish line here, to… help you let go of this misguided need to protect jack and jabot.

Ashley: Our mother left us when we were just little kids. We’ve been protecting each other ever since.

Tucker: I understand, but it’s gone too far now. And it might be too late to save him anyway. I think what you need to concentrate on is purging yourself of this hatred for diane. And if you can do that, your whole world will be magnificent again.

Jack: How exactly did you make things worse for summer and kyle? What did you do?

Diane: Well, summer and I came here after leaving the family meeting earlier. She wanted my help convincing kyle to forgive her. And well, she made it very clear that if I did help her, it would go a long way towards me making amends for my part in things, which– which is important to me. And then kyle showed up…

Kyle: Excuse me, summer, but would you mind if I speak to my mother in private?

Diane: Uh, kyle, we can do that, but I think that maybe you should sit down and we should speak as a family first. You know, there are some things I need to tell you and, um, I’d like for summer to be part of that conversation as well.

Kyle: Look, mom, if this is about the problems between me and summer, I’d prefer you didn’t get involved.

Diane: It– it is, but not in the way that you think.

Kyle: Okay, in what way then?

Diane: Did you know that harrison has been crying himself to sleep the last three nights?

Kyle: What? How could that be? I’ve read to him until he’s fallen asleep every night.

Diane: Well, he wakes up about half an hour later and comes and finds his didi with tears in his eyes.

Summer: Tears, why?

Kyle: What’s he so upset about? Why didn’t he come to me?

Diane: He wouldn’t tell me what was going on at first, but then he finally asked what he was doing to make his mommy and daddy so upset.

Summer: Why didn’t you tell us that he was crying at night?

Kyle: Yeah, you should’ve come to us with this right away.

Diane: Well, I was afraid that you would think that I was interfering in your relationship. And plus I– I figured that the two of you would work things out soon, but it has been three nights in a row.

Jack: Wow. That is a lot for that kid to be carrying around.

Diane: Oh, yeah.

Jack: I hate that he blames himself for the chaos and upset that’s going on in our home. This is a lot for you to carry around. I mean, why didn’t you tell me?

Diane: Well, I– I– I didn’t tell you because it isn’t true. I told a little white lie trying to push kyle past his anger toward summer since she betrayed him. I was hoping that it would focus them both on what’s really important to them. Their family, their little boy.

Jack: It wasn’t true. Seriously?

Diane: Oh, no. It just kind of came to me and I went with it.

Jack: You lied to kyle. Again.

Chance: I am suggesting that we change the custody agreement slightly. Look, we all know that dominic loves the mansion. It was his first place that he lived. I would like for you to consider moving into the chancellor house. Devon, I’m sure your grandmother would love it. Abby, you could come back home and dominic could have all the space he could ever ask for to run, play and grow. I’m gonna take an apartment closer to the police station. I don’t need that big thing, okay? I don’t need to be rattling around all by myself in that big old mansion. I would much rather dominic have it. That way I can come visit whenever. And the chancellor home, you know, the first place that he lived, will be his permanent home.

Devon: Well, okay. Well, this is, uh, it’s not what I expected.

Chance: Yeah. Well, look, I, uh, I do have to run. I apologize. So, I’ll let you guys talk it over, but just know I still want to share custody. I still want to see him as much as I can, okay? Nothing’s changed and I understand this is a big move, so if you’re not up for it, I totally get it. I just wanted to put it out there for dominic’s sake. Talk to you soon.

Devon: Thanks.

Abby: Wow. Um, I was not expecting that at all, but I know chance is coming from a good place. But I mean, this is a huge decision for both of us. Is this even something that you would consider?

Ashley: You’re not wrong. It’s exhausting, having all this hatred towards diane, but I can’t just turn it on and off like a light switch, you know, not when she’s such a threat.

Tucker: Yeah. I’m sorry to tell you, but you’re not the only one who’s finding it exhausting. Diane seems to be occupying more space in your head than anyone else in your life right now. Wherever we go, diane seems to be with us. We might as well always ask for a table for three. We can’t have a conversation without it eventually steering back to diane. Diane this, diane that. Jack, jabot, jabot, jack, enough already.

Ashley: I apologize.

Tucker: Enough of jabot.

Ashley: I am so deeply sorry. It can’t always be about you. And maybe you’re missing the point here. I can’t just walk away from this company, tucker. It’s in my dna. It always will be a part of me.

Tucker: So, you’re always going to be miserable. You’re always going to be consumed by hatred and paranoia? All right, think about this. Let’s say you’re right. Let’s say your prediction about diane’s right and she brings jabot crashing down. You know what we do? We swoop in, we scoop it up, we fold it into our own company, which would make us stronger than ever. And you could rein over everything you see. Yeah?

Ashley: Well, I don’t want jack and traci and billy to think that I want to stab them in the back and destroy the family company. That’s not what I’m doing this for, you know that. I want to protect the company. I want to protect my father’s legacy. That’s what I mean when I say I’m doing this out of love and not hatred. Don’t you hear what I’m saying?

Tucker: Right, then let diane crash and burn on her own. That’s the best way to prove to jack what a threat she is anyway.

Diane: I’m not going to try to defend what I did other than to say my heart was in the right place. It was an innocent white lie. And you know what? Part of me is afraid that harrison might have picked up on the tension between his parents.

Jack: But you don’t know that. I mean, he hasn’t said that to you, has he?

Diane: No, no, I guess not. And I– I guess I took it too far. I just– I just wanted to rattle kyle into realizing what his anger towards summer could be costing his son.

Kyle: I had no idea this was impacting my son like this. I’ve had talks with him explaining that sometimes adults have arguments and it takes a little time for them to work through their problems, but I made it as clear as I possibly could that didn’t mean we love him any less.

Diane: Well, clearly it wasn’t enough. He’s– he’s suffering.

Summer: Kyle, this is even more of a reason for us to start trying to work things out between us. Harrison has been through so much in his life already. We owe him a sense of security now. Don’t you agree with that?

Kyle: Summer, are you sure you didn’t already know about harrison’s apparent upset?

Summer: No. How– how could I? I’ve been sleeping in the pool house. I go in and I say good night to him when you’re not around and then I go away.

Kyle: I’m still finding it odd that I’m only hearing about this now. Harrison has shown no signs of being upset or worried. He’s been the same happy-go-lucky guy. But if this is true, I am very concerned about my son and I will do everything I can to calm him down.

Diane: What do you mean? If this is true?

Kyle: Well, I’m just having a hard time understanding that he could have such a strong reaction that I wouldn’t have seen or sensed it. At least not to the level that kept him up at night. Something feels off here.

Diane: And then the whole thing just spiraled from there. And I– I had to admit that I might have exaggerated the situation.

Jack: I can imagine how that went down.

Diane: I was just hoping that kyle could realize that he needs to find a way to forgive his wife.

Jack: You do realize what you’ve done?

Diane: Yes, I know. And I know that it was a bit desperate. And I– and I know that I shouldn’t have used our grandson that way, but it wasn’t a total fabrication. I do think that harrison has picked up on the tension between his parents. He knows that there’s something going on.

Jack: But you tried to convince kyle it was a lot worse than that.

Diane: Yes, I know. And then after I confessed to him, he stormed out. But summer was right behind him.

Kyle: Honestly, I don’t know what I want. All I know is that this is hell for me.

Summer: Kyle, this is hell for me too. I believe what diane was saying earlier, that harrison is picking up on what’s going on. He knows that there’s a conflict between us and the question is how are we gonna fix it?

Kyle: I don’t know. Maybe what we need to do is take some time apart. Really apart while we try to figure this out.

Summer: What does that mean? Like a formal separation? (Wheezing)

Summer: Kyle, you can’t really mean that.

Kyle: I’m sorry. I– I can’t get beyond this betrayal. You kept this a secret from me for weeks. You lied repeatedly to my face and all I wanted to do was comfort you. I thought something was wrong with me, that I couldn’t do what you needed to help you feel better. How could you have been so cruel to me?

Summer: I know that I handled it badly. I know that I did. But kyle, I was caught between protecting my mom and–

Kyle: Destroying mine? Still, you could have come to me. Told me everything and we could have found a way to deal with it together, but instead, you opted to betray my trust and freeze me out.

Summer: Kind of like what you did when you worked with my grandpa behind my back. You know, I felt betrayed then too.

Kyle: Oh, no, no, no, this is completely different and you know, it. That wasn’t life or death, incarceration or freedom. You took my love and my sympathy and you threw it back in my face. You broke my heart. And the worst part is you didn’t trust me to help you through the trauma you were going through. The fact is you betrayed every bit of confidence I have in you. In us.

Summer: But we can get through this. I know that we can. I love you. And you love me… don’t you?

Kyle: You chose your mother over me. You were willing to let my mom suffer and maybe spend the rest of her life behind bars.

Summer: I would have never let it get that far. I promise you that.

Kyle: Well, we’ll never know for sure now, will we? No, I get the sense that this meeting at society was a clever little setup. Did you recruit my mother to help us bridge the gap? Was that stunt using harrison something the two of you cooked up?

Summer: I didn’t know what she was gonna do. But yes, I did tell diane that it would go a long way with me if she could help convince you to forgive me.

Kyle: Yeah. I thought so.

Summer: Kyle, I was desperate. You weren’t talking to me. I have never seen you that angry and I was– I was afraid for our marriage.

Kyle: And where did that lead, summer? Look at where we are now. You have made one bad choice after another. I… I think we need some time to process everything that’s happened. See what’s left. If anything.

Summer: Kyle, no, that’s too extreme. Do we really have to go that far? If we love each other, if you have ever loved me, then we should be able to work this out.

Kyle: I can’T. Not right now. I need time to think through things.

Summer: What does that mean? You want me to move out of the house completely?

Jack: Look, I’m– I’m not gonna lie. It upsets me that you used harrison to force kyle’s hand and I’m not surprised that this blew up in your face.

Diane: Well, I’m– I’m sorry. And I can see why you’re upset with me, but what am I supposed to do? I swear I was only trying to do something good, something to try to get them back together, and I– I feel like I need to try because I am partially to blame for their problems.

Jack: Wait, what are you saying? You are not to blame for what summer did.

Diane: No, but my feud with phyllis is at the center of this whole thing. Jeremy stark came back to town because of me and then he took advantage of phyllis’s intense hatred towards me.

Jack: You are no part of that scheme and summer went off the rails emotionally.

Diane: Well, yes, she did. But I– I think she was just grasping at any hope when she learned that her mother was alive. She had to do whatever she could to protect her, to– to try to clean up that mess and bring her back home safely.

Jack: That was your argument. Not using harrison.

Diane: I know. I’ve bungled this badly and I need to find kyle and try to fix it.

Ashley: Maybe you haven’t heard, but I’ve actually done something kind of like that. I went to paris with my patents and I created a very successful company. So how would this be different?

Tucker: Yes, yes, I recall that. This would be different in as much as you would not be alone. All right? And there’s no doubt you did a wonderful job in paris, which is why I know that together, we would be unstoppable.

Ashley: You really think so?

Tucker: I know so. And this time, you would not have the entire burden resting on your shoulders. I’d be right there with you. Think of how wonderful it would be to build something as a couple. Huh?

Ashley: That would be kinda awesome.

Tucker: Kinda awesome? It would be totally awesome. And we could do it right here in genoa city. Think about all the new products you could design. Oh, by the way, I’ve been spitballing names. You wanna hear my favorite? Simply ashley. Your name associated with beauty all over the world. People all over the world identifying with you, right? And then you and I become the power couple of the decade. You’re thinking about it. You’re seeing it in your mind’s eye, right? You’re gonna let jabot just pursue whatever goal it wants while you and I set the industry on fire.

Ashley: It would really hit jack right where he lives.

Tucker: Oh, god. Here we go again, jack, jack, I’m not proposing this as yet another means to get back at jack. I’m talking about taking this idea to its fruition, for us. And you’re either committed or you’re not. Are you in?

Ashley: Of course.

Tucker: Simone, if you please, a bottle of your finest champagne, for my business partner and me.

Ashley: Shh.

Devon: Honestly, the thought of dominic having one central place to call home is ideal. Because I’m sure it is rough for him to be carted back and forth between here and the chancellor mansion. But how would you feel being back in that house?

Abby: Well, there are a lot of things to consider. A lot of memories, both good and bad, and then there’s jill. I mean, that’s her landing spot when she comes to genoa city, and probably nina’s too. Even though she’s not here that often.

Devon: So would that be weird for you then? To be under the same roof as your ex-mother-in-law?

Abby: Whoo. Well, probably a little bit, especially after she told me exactly how she felt about me at the gala. Since I broke her son’s heart. I don’t know. What about you? This place is your home. Would you even consider giving it up? Even if it is the best thing for dominic?

Announcer: The young and the restless will continue. (Mom) america’s favorite strawberry yogurt.

Kyle: Living in the pool house is not much different than living in the main house. You still need to come in here on a regular basis.

Summer: That’s what you need a break from? You’re so angry at me that you want me as far away as possible? So what? You can decide if you want a divorce or not? You’re throwing me out because I was trying to protect my mom.

Kyle: No, you chose to protect your mom at the cost of honesty and the faith in me and our marriage.

Summer: What would you have done if the roles were reversed, kyle?

Kyle: My mother would never have stooped as low as phyllis. She never would have done what she did.

Summer: What are you talking about? Diane already did it. She faked her death. She abandoned you at a much younger age than me and daniel are now. Are you just forgetting that? How she walked out on you? Disappeared for years and how she was willing to let my grandma take the fall? You’re kidding yourself if you don’t believe how low your mom could stoop. What your mom did was no better than what my mom has done.

Kyle: I know you struggled with your feelings with my mother. That you believe she was guilty for phyllis’s death, but I really thought once you realized it was all a fake and phyllis was alive, you would see how wrong you were.

Summer: Yes, I was wrong about that, sure. But diane is guilty of so much more.

Kyle: And there it is. Your argument that you were just trying to protect phyllis no longer rings entirely true. Not when you’re still holding old grudges and punishing my mother for her lies.

Summer: You know, maybe you’re right. Maybe I should move out.

Jack: Summer, could I have a moment alone with my son?

Diane: Yeah, kyle. I would like to speak with you as well.

Summer: Fine.

Jack: Please tell me I didn’t just hear you ask summer to leave this house. Has it really gotten that out of hand?

Diane: Yeah. Look, you need to find some way to be able to forgive–

Kyle: Mom, I don’t want to hear your pleas for me and summer to work things out. Not when your meddling has already made things worse.

Devon: I gotta admit that leaving this penthouse wouldn’t be easy to do. ‘Cause there’s so much history here. You know, so many memories. I mean, I originally bought this place for hilary and I remember her initial reaction to it wasn’t what I expected. You said you wanted a real home, I thought that you’d be happy.

Hilary: First of all, this isn’t a real home. This is one of your gifts designed to keep me in line.

Devon: That’s not true.

Hilary: And secondly, how could you make such a huge purchase without consulting me? What if I don’t like this part of town?

Devon: This is your favorite neighborhood.

Hilary: Okay. What if I wanted a house with a yard?

Devon: Is that what you want?

Hilary: Maybe I want a pool or a tennis court?

Devon: Oh, hey, you remember we own athletic club right down the street. Or I could build you a gym downstairs. I could put a garden on the roof here. I mean, what– what do you really want?

Hilary: I want a damn say, okay? This is our life, devon. You and me. Sometimes I feel like I am just along for the ride. To smile and say thank you while you whip out your checkbook.

Devon: Well, that’s just not how I want you to feel at all.

Hilary: Then include me in things, okay? You wanna surprise me with a watch? Okay, fine. Go ahead, knock yourself out. But come on, devon. A home?

Devon: I agree with you. I get your point and I apologize, okay? But for the record, I did not buy this place for your gratitude.

Hilary: Really? You didn’t think that this big surprise was gonna make us kiss and make up?

Devon: Hilary, I bought this place because I love you and I want you to be happy. That’s the truth. Now for two seconds, can you forget about how much of an ass I am and just take a look around and see if you actually like it? Please? I mean, there’s more than enough space here for us. And think of all the ways that we can make it our own.

Hilary: Yeah, it has potential.

Devon: Sweetheart. This is in no way me trying to tie you down, okay? If anything, it’s me taking a step back so you can be exactly whoever it is you want to be. As long as that person is my wife, my partner, and my best friend.

Hilary: Well, it’s gonna need some paint.

Devon: Gosh. Hamilton-winters was created here too. I have so many good memories with neil in this place. Then again, it’s– this is also where he passed away.

Abby: I can only imagine.

Devon: Yeah. But, uh, you and I have made quite a few memories here. Wouldn’t you say?

Abby: Yes.

Devon: Remember when you set up that dinner so we could try out the food before you opened up society?

Abby: Yes.

Devon: It was fun.

Abby: Yeah.

Devon: And this is where we both realized that we’re in love with each other.

Abby: Yeah.

Devon: It’s not gonna be easy to leave this place. It’s a lot to think about.

Abby: Yeah. I don’t think I’ll be able to make a quick decision. I just, um, I don’t know. I wonder why chance is wanting to leave the chancellor house.

Devon: Well, I mean, I imagine because it probably gets lonely being by himself in such a big place. His mom and jill are rarely there. Dominic only comes over occasionally. I get it.

Abby: Yeah.

Devon: Maybe what he’s suggesting makes sense for us.

Abby: It would be nice to bring dominic back to the house where he spent the beginning of his life.

Devon: Yeah. It’s definitely something to think about.

Abby: Yeah. Even when I was with the people I love,

[ Ashley laughing ]

Tucker: So, if we– if we call your line simply ashley, we still need a name for the corporation.

Ashley: Yeah.

Tucker: So, what do you think would really piss jack off? How about, uh, mccall-abbott industries?

Ashley: Oh, I don’t like that at all. No, it should be abbott-mccall industries.

Tucker: Of course.

Ashley: Right? Because it’s just, you know, rolls off the tongue easier. It’s a much nicer ring to it. You think?

Tucker: All right. How about something a little more expansive?

Ashley: Uh-huh?

Tucker: Mcabbott universal?

Ashley: Oh, yeah. Okay, we gonna serve fries with that?

Tucker: Well, whatever the name is, it’s gotta– it’s gotta send a clear message that we mean business.

Ashley: Right. Right. I think that, um, anything with universal and global in it is just maybe a bit too expansive.

Tucker: How about, um, tushley?

Ashley: Okay, you’re not gonna stop are you?

Tucker: No.

Ashley: Not until I say yes? It’s a lot of fun talking about this imaginary company that we own together, right? But um, I’d like to know how the inner machinations would actually operate.

Tucker: The inner machination?

Ashley: Yes.

Tucker: What do you want? An organizational flow chart or something?

Ashley: Yes.

Tucker: You want to know who reports to whom and when.

Ashley: Yes. Yes. Yes, yes, yes. I want to know the dynamic we’d have.

Tucker: Between you and me? Oh, well–

Ashley: Well, obviously.

Tucker: We would be equals in every way, of course.

Ashley: Uh-huh.

Tucker: We would play off each other’s strengths.

Ashley: Right.

Tucker: Your brilliance in the lab creating products that people will die for. And my, uh, my remarkable business acumen.

Ashley: Right. About that. I mean wasn’t it that remarkable business acumen that pretty much tanked mccall?

Tucker: Yes, I…

Ashley: Did I say that?

Tucker: Did you say that? I know I– I made a misstep but my only fault was taking my eye off the ball and with you as my partner, I promise I will never take my eye off anything when it comes to you and me. Business or private. And I know that uh, with you at my side, you would never allow that to happen anyway. Would you? Have I convinced you yet?

Diane: My whole life has been a series of two steps forward and one step back. I mean, how long will it take for me to finally pay my dues?

Jack: Okay. Listen to me. You gotta stop thinking like that. This is phyllis’s doing, not yours. She knocked the floor out from underneath all of us with this stunt of hers and we’re all scrambling to regain our footing. Summer and kyle, you and me.

Diane: Well, I didn’t help matters using our grandson to try to mend kyle and summer. It was– it was pretty stupid.

Jack: It was not the best choice, but it’s done. And to your credit, it wasn’t malicious. You meant to help. You were trying to help kyle. And he will realize that as soon as he sees things clearly.

Diane: Well, I hope so.

Jack: You have to remember everything kyle is doing and saying right now is colored by his anger at summer. And that goes all the way back to phyllis.

Diane: I bet phyllis is having a good laugh right about now. I mean, even though I’m not in jail for her murder, she’s still getting revenge on me. A revenge that keeps causing pain. You know, she’s staying away so that she can avoid facing the music, but I bet there’s another reason. She knows that it is tearing this family apart and she is loving that.

Audra: So we meet again. And unfortunately, you don’t look like you’re in any better state of mind since the last time we met. Should I keep walking? Look for another saloon to have a quiet drink?

Kyle: No. Stay. Let me buy you one. With the freestyle libre 2 system.

Tucker: Champagne.

Ashley: Here’s to new beginnings.

Jack: Will you make me a promise?

Diane: Sure.

Jack: Will you embrace the positive and just let the negative in our lives take care of itself? We’re about to get married in the next couple of months. You’re gonna come work with me at jabot. We have so much to look forward to.

Diane: Yeah. Are you sure about jabot? I mean, me being there working with you, it’s bound to bring up conflict with ashley and maybe even billy.

Jack: Do I look like I care about that? As a matter of fact, let me show you something. You know how I asked the pr department to put together a press release about your new position? Asked them to polish things up and I wanted to send it out. Go?

Diane: Go.

Jack: Go.

Diane: Aw.

Jack: If the family is upset about that, too bad. They have a problem with this, it’s their problem, not ours.

Diane: Yeah. Mm.

Chance: You look like you could use someone to talk to.

Audra: So, something is clearly bothering you. Feel like talking about whatever it is?

Kyle: That’s the last thing I wanna do. Today has been absolutely disastrous. Hell, this whole week has been absolutely disastrous. What I really need is to forget about everything going on in my life. Shut it out. Pretend none of it is happening.

Audra: Yeah, I know that feeling all too well. Been there and I’m happy to help. Salud.

Kyle: Salud.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

How about I just sit here and you show me… and then I’ll watch? Okay. Legs straight. Cross over. And then crack your back. Just stretch it out. Yeah, I’m not gonna do that. Looks like it hurts. Well, you have to do something. No, I’m not gonna do that. You’re not gonna warm up? I’m not. No — confession. I asked you to meet me here because I didn’t think you would be able to. I didn’t think you — you would be free this evening. Really? Hm. Well, the joke’s on you because while, yes, carly’s case has been infiltrating many of my evenings, she is not facing a prison sentence. So here we are. Warm up. Carly’s very lucky to have you as a lawyer. Yep. But carly’s not the reason I thought you wouldn’t be free. Well, then what is? I was assuming it was…

[Singsong voice] Robert. So, we’re all in agreement? Yeah, absolutely. I think we go in there and we persuade anna to join us at the savoy. She’s been cooped up for a long time at home. And, well, remember what valentin said. No matter what, don’t take no for an answer. Um, can you smell something burning?

[ Sniffs ]

[ Door opens ] Anna. What are you doing? Just burning my past. Hey. Are you — are you warming his bottle? Um, you know, now that it’s officially summer, I was thinking I’d just make popsicles out of his formula, so I’m freezing it. Please tell me you’re joking. Obviously. I guess since laura and kevin aren’t here, I’ll have to share my good news with you. You’ve decided to turn yourself in for your many crimes? I just got my first paycheck. Ohh! Spencer: Honest pay for honest work. How does it feel? It felt great. Until I saw the amount. I was hoping it would be more. Yeah. I’ve been there. You worked? Mm-hmm. At kelly’S. It is a shock at first, but you get used to it. Yeah, well, here’s hoping. So how is the job? Um, well, you know, ace is loving daycare, and everyone at the daycare adores ace. I mean, who wouldn’t? He’s adorable. No argument there. And the invader staff seems to hate me much less now that I am transferring calls to the right people — mostly. That’s great. What? I’m just not used to you being nice to me. Well, uh, you know, grandmother asked the two of us to get along, at least while she and kevin are away, so… y-yeah, well, I mean, that’s just it, isn’t it? I mean, laura’s the reason we’re managing to get along even this well. I mean, and — and now laura’s going to chechnya to track down ace’s father. I’m just afraid that this is all gonna fall apart.

[ Ace fussing ] Where’s ned? Brook lynn: Maybe they just took him for some tests. No, he’s gone. No. He has to still be here! He doesn’t know who he is, so he wouldn’t even know where to go, right?! Right? How’s carly handling this? Well, how do you think? She’s ready to go to war for drew. War with who? I mean, look. This — even if — if ned’s responsible, he doesn’t even know who he is. Yeah, that’s convenient for ned and the worst possible outcome for drew. Ava, I didn’t plan for this to happen, but now that it has, I mean… there is a tiny part of me that almost — almost — feels sorry for carly. What is she going to do without drew for three long years? I know. It’s just — I feel so awkward. A-ava. L-let me call you back, okay? Just the person I’ve been looking for.

Are you insane? Do you realize how rarely the wsb gives out commendations? Yes, but it’s useless now, isn’t it? No, it isn’T. But you didn’t burn this newspaper instead. Look. I’m so sorry. I don’t mean to be rude, but I really intended to spend the evening alone, okay? Or you could come along with us to the savoy and maybe have a good time? You haven’t been out of the house in days. How do you know that? We’ve been surveilling you. Valentin reached out to us. He’s worried about you. Well, that’s just because he feels guilty. You know, we’re not spending his last night in port charles together, so… he told us that you insisted that he spend his last night with charlotte before he left for chechnya with kevin and me. Yeah, okay, so, apparently this is coming as a shock to all of you, but I am not very good company right now. Anna. Look. I have been enlisted to get you to come along to this club tonight. Now, the basic idea was valentin’s, and you know how much I despise him. So why don’t you come along and endure it? If I can do it, you can do it. That sounds like a lovely invitation. Just come with us. I don’t want to! I want to stay here — with my thoughts and my fire, alright? And you’re fine, right? Yes. Really? Yes. Then… what are you doing reading trash like this? Every word of it is true. I was a double agent. And innocent people were hurt because of me. And I really think that it’s about time I dealt with that. I have not been seeing robert. You said “have not,” and not “haven’T.” And when you do that, something’s wrong. I just don’t wish to discuss it. That’s all. Alright. I’m not gonna meddle. I’m just gonna pry. What happened with robert? Absolutely nothing! He chose holly. Holly left town. And that, as they say, is that. So if he chose holly, why did she leave town? I have no idea. Well, did robert say that he chose holly? No. He just didn’t call and he didn’t write. Ergo, he was at home nursing a broken heart. And as you know, I am nobody’s rebound. And as you know, I don’t wait by the phone. Hell no, you don’T. Mm-hmm. You deserve better.

[ Chuckling ] Damn right. Okay. I’m exhausted. Let’s go. You didn’t do anything! That’s how I exercise. You didn’t exercise! Let’s go get something to eat. You can’t eat! You haven’t exercised! Well, wait for me! Watch me. Alright, alright, alright. Grandmother wouldn’t have left us here alone if she didn’t think that we could handle it, esme. I’ve been doing everything that I can to share in this responsibility with you. Yes, you have been really helpful. I’m just wondering, will your commitment be the same when laura’s not here? I mean, what happens when it’s just you, me, and ace?

[ Knock on door ] Here. Will you please take him? I’ll get that. No, no. I-I’ll get it. Don’t listen to her. I’m not going anywhere. I thought you were staying in tonight. Here’s ned’s wallet. There’s no cash. Do you know if he was carrying any? I-I don’t remember. I don’t know. Alright. I’m gonna go talk to the nurses. Ned would not have left G.H. Eddie maine, however, is foolish, immature, and thoughtless. You know what? You know what? That is still my husband that you’re talking about. Yeah, well, in the immortal words of eddie maine, “lady, I don’t know you.” Okay. Listen! If they didn’t take dad for tests, maybe he just went for a walk or is raiding the vending machines, okay? We don’t know that he left the hospital. Chase will find out for us. This is not a reason to panic. Give it time. You were looking for me? Yeah. Let me buy you a drink, and you can tell me all about this place. The savoy? Yeah. Well, like, what kind of talent do you bring in here? And how are the crowds? They’re good, depending on the band. I-I’m sorry. I just have to ask you. Aren’t you supposed to be in the hospital? Ohh. You think you know me, don’t you? Well… you don’T. But you will soon. You and anyone else with a lick of taste and an ear for good music. My name’s eddie. Eddie maine. Nina. Nina reeves. Pleased to meet you, eddie. Nice to meet you. Let’s get that drink… nina reeves. Michael: At the moment, he doesn’t even know who my mom and drew are or the fact that he turned them in to the sec for insider trading. I was a silent partner in l&b records when eddie maine was touring. Ned lived a double life, but he always knew who he really was. Yeah, and now he thinks he’s eddie. How sure are the doctors? You think he’s lying? I didn’t say that, but I need to see it for myself. Well, here’s your chance. Let the good times roll.

uh, fine. They printed the truth. But it’s all ancient history, and you’ve more than atoned for all of it. Have I, though? I-I feel as if I threw myself into work so I wouldn’t have to face the truth of what I did… and that if I ran fast enough or far enough, then my past wouldn’t catch up with me. Right? And now it has. Oh, anna, you’re not running from your mistakes. If anything, you’ve owned up to your past. Laura: Look at it this way. Think of all the times you put your life at risk to help others. Now, were you doing that because you wanted to atone or because that’s just who you are? Some people may never know, but the fact is those acts of heroism and — and all the good that you’ve done, that can’t be denied. Laura’s right. You’re still a hero. I’m also a traitor. And you’ve called me that. And I just don’t want to involve you all in this by association. You know what, robert? Why don’t you, uh, go ahead and get us a table at the savoy? That’s a good idea. We’ll meet you over there. I’ll see you out. Yeah. What ever happened to not taking no for an answer? Yeah, well, we still haven’T. Get us a good table. Not too close. Perhaps for drinks, too? Oh, of course. Yes. I know what this looks like. But I’m not wallowing. Alright? I’m not. I think you’re taking stock. Yeah, I think that’s what I’m doing. Thank you for understanding. Of course. But what I don’t understand is why you’re shutting us out. Ned: I’ve been away from port charles for a while, so I’m just trying to get my bearings. I’m trying to find all the happening spots in town. What’s going on? Nina: Hey, honey. T-this is eddie maine. And he was just asking about the music scene here in port charles. Eddie, this is my fiancé, sonny corinthos. Oh! Well, I must say, your fiancé is one lucky guy. Yeah, I am. I apologize if I overstepped. What do you mean? Don’t worry. You didn’T. How about you let me buy you a drink? You know, I was just wondering why you’re in a nightclub when you just got out of the hospital. Now, how’d you know about that? Oh. Right. Well, sonny, hospitals are for sick people. Uh-huh. And lucky for me, I’m not sick. Right, right. So why don’t you let me buy you a drink? Michael, my son. We were j– michael. Eddie. Hey. Nice to meet you. Likewise. We w ant to hear all about yourmusic stories and everything. Weren’t you gonna make that call for me? Yes. Yes. Thank you for reminding me. It’s a business thing. I’ll be right back. Right. Excuse me. Uh, so, what — what kind of music do you play?

[ Line ringing ]

[ Sighs ] Come on, olivia. Pick up.

[ Cellphone rings ]

[ Scoffs ] This is the last thing I need. It’s nina. I can’t even begin to think about the metro court right now.

[ Cellphone rings ] Oh, my god! Just stop! Okay. I spoke to one of the nurses, and… don’t panic, but ned checked himself out.

[ Gasps ] How could they let him do that? He signed a form saying he was leaving against medical advice. What name did he use? If he signed out as eddie maine, they should have put him in a straitjacket instead of letting him run free.

[ Cellphone rings ] Okay. It doesn’t matter how he got out of here. The fact is that he’s gone and we got to figure out where. Ned would not have left the hospital. Eddie maine is probably busking on a street corner somewhere. What? I just wish I could think you were wrong. Well, where do musicians hang out?! You guys keep brainstorming. I’m gonna call this in to the station, see if they can help track down ned. Okay. That was nina. Oh, my god. She’s calling you?! What is her problem?! She found dad. Where? Where is he? At the savoy. A nightclub. Why didn’t we think of that? We better go before he tries to break loose again. Come on. Let’s go. Well, can’t nina just keep him there? Well, how?!

We couldn’t! Am I in trouble? Did I forget something? No. You didn’t forget anything. Oh. Okay. But I know how busy you’ve been, and I thought maybe we can have a chill night in. And I-I even brought some snacks. Well, it’s so good to see you, snacks or no snacks, but… are you guys gonna watch a movie? W-we — we haven’t decided yet. Well, I mean, there’s a lot of movies and shows on streaming right now. Yeah. Y– there — yeah. You guys don’t mind if I join you, do you? Um…

[ Trina and spencer chuckle ] I’m just kidding. Okay. I am going to go feed ace and then give him a bath, and then it’s bedtime for both of us. Um, isn’t that right, little guy? Want to go to bed?

[ Cellphone beeping ] Oh, there’s that timer. Sorry. I’ll, um — I’ll grab that. Oh, no, no, no. You have company. I’ll do it. Okay. Yeah. Yeah.

[ Sighs ] Wow. What? Just — it’s just a shock to the system to see you and esme together like this. Like what? Just… on the same side, like you used to be.

Right now I’m a front man without a band. Need to get one together. You got representation? No, not currently. I’m gonna put out some feelers, though. It’s been a while. Yeah. I know how that is. I’m sure — you know a few people in the music business, I’m sure, right, dad? Yeah. I don’t see why I can’t reach out. You’re not into music, are you? Uh, sure, yeah. Yeah. Really? Yeah. What was the last show that you went to? Uh, actually, phideaux. Right here on the stage. Phideaux. Never heard of him. Well, you should. But, then again, that was a long time ago. Since then, I’ve been kind of busy taking care of my family and running the business.

[ Chuckling ] Oh. Right. All business. You’re all business, aren’t — life is short. You got to live a little, kid. Right? Relax. How’d it go? Uh, great. Uh, the issue is headed to — to the press. Issue? I run a magazine. So, eddie, what do you think of the savoy? After some of the dives that I’ve played in, this place is a palace. And, look, you’re the mayor of port charles. You should not be seen with me. What if someone were to take our photo? I don’t care about that. Well, maybe you should. You know? You’re a politician. Yeah, you know, I didn’t get elected to office by trying to hide my past. And I am well aware of the complexity of yours. And I would be honored to have my picture taken with you. I would challenge anyone to compare the good you’ve done against the wrongs they’re writing. It’s no contest, anna. I appreciate that. And I knew, of course, that you wouldn’t turn your backs on me, no matter how much I want you to. But it isn’t about what other people think of me. This is what I think of me. And I had come to terms with my past and even the crimes that I was part of, you know? Because of my work as an agent, I felt that somehow I was balancing the scales. But now I’m no longer an agent, and I won’t ever be again, I realize that I’m not ready to let go of that part of my life. Because I feel like my work isn’t done. I invested in a small record company back in the ’90s. One of the co-owners was a friend of mine from the, you know, old neighborhood. Very ambitious. And she brought in two singers. One of them made it really big. Uh, I don’t know what he’s doing now. He’s just living the crazy life, I guess.

[ Cellphone chimes ] Oh. Uh, I am so sorry. I got another work call. Okay. You see? A beautiful woman like that, and she can’t even enjoy a night out. Take my advice, michael. Don’t let work consume you! Ned. Good to see you. Glad to see you out and about. I’m sure olivia’s delighted. Um, corinthos. A word? Hey, my friend. I’ll be right back, okay? Right. How can I help you? Well, I’m curious. Mm-hmm. Why does sonny corinthos need someone else to fight his battles for him? What battles are we talking about here? You’re gonna have to narrow it down. Okay. No problem. Well, actually, it is a problem… when you start using diane miller — diane miller? What are you talking about? Excuse me, district attorney. You’re not accusing my client of something without his attorney being present, are you? Esme and I are in no way on the same side. We’re just trying to make the best of a very, very messed-up situation right now. That’s fine. In fact… I’m glad your living situation is more…tolerable.

[ Chuckles ] Unfortunately, it means that you and i have less time to spend with one another, and for that, I am really sorry. I felt terrible when I had to leave curtis’ birthday party early.

[ Sighs ] What? Something happen?

[ Scoffs ] When is something ever not happening with my family? My family… which curtis is. Care to get more specific?

[ Exhales deeply ] Curtis and I were just starting to get closer and learn how to talk to one another… and he did something that really upset my mom. Do you want advice, or do you just need me to listen? I don’t think anybody can give me advice on this. Well, then, listening it is. Just an informal chat. Nothing official. I still don’t know what we’re chatting about, and at this point, I’m starting to lose interest. I don’t like the fact that you’re using diane miller to get confidential information from me.

[ Stammers ] Let me handle this. By all means. Where’s ned? He’s with sonny and michael. Alexis: Can’t take you anywhere. Where is he? Nina, where is ned? You said he was with sonny and michael. Well, he was. He was just here a second ago. What, you lost him?! Olivia, he can’t be far. We’re gonna find him. Good evening, everyone, and welcome to the savoy!

[ Cheers and applause ] Alright. So, I have some good news and, of course, some bad news. First, the bad news. Unfortunately, our opening act, caterwaul, got stuck in customs.

[ Patrons groan ]I know, I know. But the good news is, our headliner, the retrobates, will be out in just a few…minutes. Um, excuse me, sir. You can’t be up here. Well, if you need an opening act, I’m the man. How are ya? Poor charles! How’s everyone feeling tonight?

[ Applause ] Yeah! Port charles! How are we all feeling tonight?! Come on! Make some noise!

[ Cheers and applause ]

Okay. Everyone having a good time? Let’s get this party started! Ned! Come down from there! Oh, I don’t know that song, but here’s one you might recognize.

[ Guitar strums ] Ned!

[ Patrons gasp ] Ned! Ned! You’re okay. Whoa, whoa, whoa. I’m okay.

[ All murmuring ] I’m alright. I’m alright. Nina. Thank you so much. If you hadn’t called me, we would have never found him. I-I’m just glad I could help. Well, thank god he’s not halfway on his way to vegas by now. Ned’s gonna be fine. He’s sitting with michael. He’s gonna be okay, I think. Just needs some water. Look. I’m good, right? The crowd’s all warmed up. I need to get back out there. No, no, no, no. Hey, hey, hey. Look. The crowd can wait. And so can you. Sonny, he won’t listen to me. He thinks he’s someone else. He thinks I’m a complete stranger! It’s that bad? Yes. He doesn’t remember anyone. He didn’t remember brook lynn or tracy. He denied leo to his face. I mean, my — my little boy was devastated. I’m sorry. What do you want me to do? He doesn’t trust me. He doesn’t trust anyone in his family. Because you want him to be somebody he doesn’t remember being. I was talking to him. He didn’t seem all that — wait, wait, wait. Y-y-you didn’t mention that you knew him before? Not yet. Is that right…?

[ Clears throat ] Sorry. I just came to grab ace’s binky. Did you give him his bottle? Yes. And you turned on the noise machine? Maybe he needs to be swaddled. No, he’s too old for that. I came here to grab a pacifier, not attend a forum on parenting strategies. If I need anything, I will call you, but don’t hold your breath. So sorry about that. What were you saying? No. It’s okay. No, it’s not okay. I don’t like the way that she just spoke to you.

[ Sighs ] She’s tired. And if someone who didn’t have kids gave me unsolicited parenting advice, I would also be a little upset. Oh, no. Now I’ve got you defending her, as well. I told you. It’s alright. Except for that — okay. Yeah. Alright. Fine. I just don’t like it. I don’t like this whole…situation. Yeah, neither do I. I don’t, either. But this is how it’s got to be for ace — for now. Until we can find a way to get rid of esme. Just in case. We just have to find real evidence, evidence that we can trust. And once we do that, esme will be out of our lives forever. What the hell was that about? I hate the fact that corinthos thinks he can use you to get to me. Use me? Like you and holly used me? Or is that different? My goodness. You think so little of me, don’t you? No. It’s because I have so much respect for you. Oh, do you, now? And I hate the fact that sonny uses you to do his bidding. Okay, well, let’s get very clear. For one thing, I don’t do anyone’s bidding. I protect my clients. Like sonny. You know who I work for! For heaven’s sakes! I needed some information, so, yes, I asked you for it. Did sonny corinthos also need that information? Well, that’s attorney/client privilege. How convenient. And accurate. Besides, what do you care? I care probably a whole lot more than you realize. As an agent, as a cop, right, I felt that I had a purpose, like I-I was where I belonged. And now I don’t have that anymore, I — I’ve been asking myself the question… you know, what now? I completely understand. Felicia: So do I. In our own way, we all have had to reinvent ourselves. Yeah. Have you talked to valentin about it? I did, but, you know, I don’t want to burden him because he’s leaving with you. Um, I could tell him to stay here with you. No. Don’t do that. Please. You need him. I mean, I know you’re very capable, but a U.S. Government official isn’t supposed to travel to chechnya. Valentin — he has a lot of contacts there, and… and he speaks the language. Yeah, I think you really need him. Well, to be honest, I was really surprised when he offered to go with me, and it actually meant a great deal to me, so… and right now I-I need all the help I can get. Good. That’s settled, then. I’m gonna come with you to chechnya.

You know how much I value our friendship. Our…relationship.

[ Chuckling ] We don’t have a relationship, robert. Last time I checked, we were simply two colleagues who occasionally find ourselves on opposite sides of a courtroom and, even rarer, on opposite sides of a dinner table. It doesn’t have to be like that. Would you be saying that if holly hadn’t left town? You are absolutely right. I can’t wait for that day. Sorry to interrupt again, but ace won’t go down for bed. What is that silly song you sing to him? It’s not a silly song, esme. You just don’t sing it right. Okay, well, why don’t you sing it to him and I will listen so I can try and learn it better? Or is it too much asking you to sing to your baby brother? You know what? You guys seem to have your hands full. I’m just — I’m gonna take off. No. Stay. Please. No. It’s okay. You go sing your silly song to your brother and put him to bed. Trina, I — I don’t want it to be like this. Neither do I. But it’s not gonna be like this forever. Right? And with her track record, we won’t have to wait for long. I can’t really imagine what this must be like for you. I know that you don’t remember me and that you — you don’t want to be pressured into — into feeling things that — that you don’t feel — or — or — are you sure this is a good idea? Olivia wanted to talk to ned alone. Olivia: …That we love was in an accident… well, what do you think now that you’ve seen eddie maine up close? Ned is not faking it. No matter how I feel about him, he would not put his family through this. Olivia: …But we know that you were. Just come back to the hospital. Why? I’m not sick. But — but you just got dizzy on the stage and had to be helped off! I was — I was a little dehydrated, but I just had some water and I’m — I’m right as rain. No, no. What you had was a major head injury and — and chest compressions!

[ Guitar plucking ] And — could you stop tuning that thing?! It’s not even yours! Well, whosever it was, they shouldn’t have left it on the stage. Yeah, just like a man with a head injury who doesn’t know who he is should not be just walking out of a hospital! I couldn’t stand being in that hospital room one more second, being told what to do, when to eat, when to sleep, being told who I am or who I’m not. I know who I am! I know that — I know that you think that you do. And, please, if you can’t come home for me, I understand, but… but please believe me. Your kids are your kids. Could you do it for your kids? Look. I appreciate what you’re trying to do. And I think I even know what you’re going through. And I’m truly sorry. I am. That I’m causing you pain. I don’t want to hurt anyone. Then stop! But I can’t be someone I’m not. Right. And you can’t love someone that you don’t know. You upset about something? Yeah. Well, it’s just I hate seeing ned’s family in so much pain. That’s what I love about you. You got a big heart. Yeah.

oh then you take me by the hand I feel better again oh I feel better now ned, please! It’s “eddie.” Please. O-okay. Eddie. Eddie. If — if you’re not going back to the hospital, could you please just come home? Or you know what? You know what? Why don’t you come back to my place? Come back to my place. You can even have your own room. I appreciate the offer, but I, um… it doesn’t feel right to me. I need to be on my own. Shh. Okay, well, I will call you tomorrow and we will set up an actual date? Yeah. I would like that.

[ Ace fussing ] Esme: Shh. I know. I know. Hey, spencer. Where’s ace’s piggy? Spencer, the piggy. Go find the piggy. I know the way out. Okay. Spencer: Believe it or not, esme, the toy pig is in the toy bin. Please give him to me. Thank you. Hey. Lullaby and good night in the sky stars are bright wild roses in bloom fill with fragrance the room lay you down now and rest may your slumber be blessed

[ Indistinct conversations ] Olivia, I’m gonna pick him up and I’ll bring him back to my place. Thank you. Go after him. Please. Please. Yeah, yeah. Of course. Of course. Thank you. Alright. You good? Yeah. Come on. Okay.

[ Sighs ]

[ Sobs ] I-I have a lot of contacts, you know, more than valentin. And I was kind of thinking, you know… why have one fallen wsb agent when you can have two? Anna, you’ve just been accused of being a double agent. How do you think it will look if you suddenly just… take off? And go to chechnya? Of all places! I thought you didn’t care about optics. I don’t care about how this looks for me. I’m worried about how it looks for you. Do you think that this would somehow make my reputation look worse? I think it will look like you’re running away. Well, what am i supposed to do, then? What am I supposed to do? I help people. That is what I do. It’s who I am, laura! And if I’m not an agent for the wsb, who am I? You don’t need the wsb to give you purpose. There are plenty of people in the world that could use someone like you on their side. Maybe you’d be one of them. Oh, are you kidding me? Before all this happened, you would have been my first phone call. But it did happen. And now helping me will do nothing to help you. Okay. Anna. I promise you… you will find a new path. It may even find you. I know that ned and I have been at odds lately.

[ Chuckles ] Not anymore. Because he’s not ned. I know. Olivia. Olivia. But he will be again. Alright? I-I promise you, I’m gonna do everything I can to help you and ned through this, okay? Okay. Where’s my dad? He left. I tried to get him to come back home, but… well, we have to find him. He’s not safe out there. Sonny went after him. He’ll look after him tonight. Okay. Well, that’s great. Well, what about tomorrow night and the night after that? And the night after that and the night after — chase: Then we will cross that bridge when we come to it. In the meantime, I have a feeling that eddie maine can handle himself. I don’t get what holly’s leaving had to do with anything. I specifically asked you to call me when you had decided who you wanted to be with. And you never called. That’s because holly left town. So you thought your decision had been made for you. Robert, answer me this. Do I look like someone who would appreciate being chosen by default? Exactly. See, it’s just not good enough. And I can’t believe you thought it ever would be.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

And I’m kind of knocking with breakfast. Those two in grapes will have a little bit more appreciation, but no. EJ ate a bit, but Kristen turned her nose up at everything I brought down. So high maintenance in their defense. Megan, I think it’s safe to assume being held captive isn’t the most enjoyable of pastimes.

Lee, we cannot have two turn coats on the loose now, can we? They cast their shadow across my bright vision of the future. I got what’s coming to them that makes them a tad cranky and impatient, and so be it. Oh, speaking of impatient, how’s it all going? Tell me you’ve got good news for me. I do. I’ll be leaving soon.

Well, if we arriving any moment, great. But you just make sure that he knows what we expect of him. Brainwash shares Michaels. I know. And soon, so will he. Excellent. Once I have Michaels under my control again. Nothing can stop us.

Hey, so we have a lot to discuss. Yeah. First, tell me about your friend, the mayor. Any news on his disappearance. No, no. I just talked to one of the detectives and they have nothing. Mm. Which really calls me because Megan Hathaway still free to stalk the streets, and he had Abe, a really good guy, really runs the best of us.

He’s nowhere to be found.

Oh, I think I need to go lie down. Can I give you a hand? Yeah. I think I need it.

You, you don’t seem very steady. Do you have like a, a cane or anything to help you out?

What do you mean? I mean, this is a, this is a new suit. Is is my tie to wife. Your clothes are fine then the problem is that ugly ass hospital of yours. Oh yeah. No. Paulina doesn’t like it either, but, but what do you want me to do? I, I’m still unsteady. I mean, the last thing I wanna do is wipe out walking down the aisle at my own wedding.

Well, that’s a good thing. Your best man’s got you covered. You that

something wrong. Paul pops,

you keep calling me Pops.

You’re not my son.

Thank you so much. All right. Appreciate it. Bye. Phil, please gimme about three minutes and I’ll come and talk to you. Um, before you go back in there, can I just ask. Why are you questioning that nurse about my dad?

When, when I reviewed the case file on the day that your dad disappeared, I saw that Ms. Whitley King left the hospital early and I wanted to know why. What’d she say? She said that she wasn’t feeling well. Do you believe me?

I’m sorry, Abe. F B I breathing down my neck. What choice do I have?

Poor baby. You’re gonna have to die. Hi.

Like sand through the hourglass. So are the days of our lives.

Hey, hey, um, I’m sorry. Um, I tried calling but you didn’t pick up. Uh, yeah, I was, I was in the shower. I’m, I’m lucky. I, I heard you knock. Yeah,

me too.

Okay, but what if he starts asking me about his life? Oh, or mine. Oh my God. You’re an actor. Just improvise. Improvise. You’re right, right, right. Just make some stuff up. Like talk to him. Your your guys. Do guy talk. That’s just the amnesia talking pops. Look, I, I, I’m your son Theo, and I, I love you a lot. Uh, but you’re just really not yourself right now.

I may not.

And I just had just now a vivid memory of my wedding day, and it was as bright as day, and I was talking to my best man. My son

and it wasn’t you. Uh, you’re really starting to worry me, pops. Um, let me get you a glass of water. All right.

So much for these acting skills. Oh,

Now, here’s the thing. When a hospital employee is sick, the protocol is to leave immediately. So she did the right thing. But what got my attention is that when Ray questioned her, she didn’t even mention it.

Agent Grant, I I, I’m very sorry to bother you. Uh, I really must get home. Is there anything else that you need from me today? Is everything okay? Yes. Well, a actually, no. Uh, my cat is sick as I, as I told you, and, uh, my neighbor has to leave and so I must get home and tend to him. He’s very old and very feeble, so.

Yeah. Um, sure. Yeah, you can go. If I need anything, then you’ll hear from me. Oh, no problem at all. Right. Bye bye. Bye bye now. Mm-hmm. Thank you for coming in. Oh, thank you. No, thank you. Wow. Is it just me or does she seem super anxious?

Yeah, I’m sorry. I seem a little, um, Yeah, once I heard the news, I dropped everything and I rushed over here. Come in please. Yeah. Thanks. Um, so yeah, so Bell came to the station. She was looking for you and uh, I don’t have all the details yet, but evidently Trask is willing to cut a deal. A deal. Hmm. What does that mean?

It means that Talia probably won’t have to serve any jail time. Are you kidding? Oh no. Oh my God. Yeah. Oh my God. Yeah. Oh, I can’t believe this. Yeah. Thank you. Thank you so much. Yeah.

Oh, Lee, if my heart didn’t belong to another man, I would kiss you. Not necessary. I assure you. So you’re positive everything’s secure with EJ and Kristen. I am. EJ is away on a fictional business trip, so all I have to do is send text messages to his dopey girlfriend and Stephan with his phone. And Kristen, no one’s looking for her except for her daughter.

And all she does is text, preteen, dribble. So I’ve just parked her phone in a drawer and on to more important things. As I told you, I’ll be meeting Ralph shortly, right. Just remember it’s imperative. But he understands that time is of the essence. So whatever he needs, he has it. There’s something he needs that we haven’t discussed.

The commander himself, well, don’t worry about that. He’s well within our grasp and he will do away with Stephan while we keep our hands clean and in her grief. Gabby will turn to me. She will indeed, and my little brother, Stephan, well, he’s in for quite a surprise. Am.

Oh, I’m sorry. I, um, no, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have, uh, brave. If you hadn’t, I would’ve jaya sh Just listen, listen to me. Okay. I, I, I wound up running into Kate downstairs and we started talking. And, and maybe she told me what I wanted to hear, but what she said, it, it really, it really changed my perspective.

What would she say? I mean, she said that, you know, what we do at work is one thing and what gives anyone the right to police what we do in the privacy of our own homes. It’s, it’s nobody’s business. And, uh, I think Kate is. Absolutely right.

So look, I appreciate your concern for my friend, but we have other pressing things to talk about. Like Shawn ruining your plan to grab Megan. Yeah, well, she was armed, he was drunk. I had to get Shawn out of there. She could have killed him. She could still kill him. I mean, she’s still free to create whatever chaos she wants to, and she also knows that you’re coming after her.

So how do we proceed now that you’ve lost the element of surprise? Kate? I’m, uh, I’m well aware of the situation, Kate. That’s why I’ve already prepared for my next encounter with Megan before I even left the property.

Oh, you have to go. No problem. Chat for now.

I didn’t hear you come in. Hmm. Obviously not. So what’s this big surprise you have in store for me? Well, I’ll just say that there are bad surprises and good surprises, and this one is in the latter category somehow. I’m not comforted by that. Fine, I’ll tell you, spoil sport. Hmm? It has to do with the party that I am planning to celebrate your engagement to.

Gabby, you told us about that. It’s hardly a surprise. Ah, but not when I was gonna keep you in the dark until the main event. But I would like to say I wouldn’t make any plans for tomorrow night if I were you. Oh, well thank you. And now that you know. I guess I’ll have to figure out another surprise for you tomorrow night.

Feel, I suppose that anyone would be anxious if they’re being questioned by the fbi? Yeah, I guess, but I don’t know. She seemed super nervous when I was talking to her earlier in the waiting room. Really? Yeah, like her hands were shaking. So what did she say? You know about not telling Rafe that she left early Liberty and my dad disappeared.

She just didn’t think it was important.

What are you thinking? Maybe it was important and that’s why she didn’t say anything, Eli. Somebody took my dad from the hospital that day and Nurse King’s whereabouts are unaccounted for. So I just hope that you’re not ruling her out. Hey, uh, here, go pops. Uh, drink some water and you’ll be, I don’t want any damn water.

I wanna know who the hell you are. Pops. I’m your son. Who else would I be? Hello there. Oh, hi there. How are my two guys? How’s my father and son duo? Did you have fun catching up? No, we did not. Um, actually there’s kind of a problem. Paulina uh, pops keeps saying I’m not who I say I am. What? Oh no, what are you talking about?

Of course. That’s your son, Theo. That’s a damn lie. He is not my son. I don’t even know him well. Well darling, you’re getting all worked up. You know, let me go and get you some water. I don’t want any damn water.

I want the truth.

Paulina, I had a very clear. Memory of our wedding day. Your best man has you covered. That’s what my son said. My real son, not this damn posture. So now, now I am starting to question everything.

Theo, I’m not ruling anyone out just yet, including Nurse King, but the issue here is evidence. Okay. So what about security cameras? They’ve gotta be all over the place in that hospital. I checked the cameras. Nothing. Hey, yeah, that, that brings up a good point because Nurse King would know where the cameras are and how to avoid them.

But Frank was given Ms. Willie King’s Hospital record. I mean by the looks of this thing. It’s immaculate. I mean, there’s not one negative word in here. She’s caring, compassionate. It’s a model nurse. So we just give up on her. She’s a good nurse. So that’s it, dear. I know this is hard, okay? It’s hard for me too, but I promise you I’m not ruling anyone out just yet.

She also said that file says at all. No, I never said that this file says at all. In fact, before she got here, I put in a request to have a background check on her.

Fuck. Let’s go in the room and see where the FBI turned up. Promise you if she’s telling stories, it’s not gonna hold up under FBI’s scrutiny.

Oh, darling, you, you, you’re getting worked up over nothing. There’s a simple explanation for everything. There is nothing simple about this. Wow. This, he’s, this is not an imposter. This is your son, Theo. And your other son was also at your wedding? My other son, yes, Brandon. He was your best man, and you just are your memories getting all mixed up.

See, doesn’t that make sense?

Grief, I hope you know that I would never do anything that could jeopardize your career. Of course. I know that. Of course. I was just, I was shocked to hear you say that because I was thinking the same thing. Don’t tell me Kate got to you too. No, no, no. It wasn’t Kate, it was Eli. Yeah, he asked about us cuz um, I guess it was obvious, you know, but he is a detective and he also had been through a similar situation with Lonnie, although they were partners, he was not her boss.

Right. But they were meant to be. And even now. Even now, nothing can stop him. I mean, he is patiently waiting for her to get out and talking to Eli just got me thinking this doesn’t matter. Doesn’t matter about a rule or a law or anything. If it is meant to be, then it will be. So what are you saying? We’re meant to be.

I’m saying

I wanna find out.

Welcome home. What happened? Why are you wet? One of the hazards of traveling via a submarine. You came in a submarine, princess Gina, some point of fact, a fine mode of transportation, especially when one wishes to arrive by stealth. You understand if I’m a little wary of running afoul of the authorities given my hasty departure last time after deprogramming stuff in the mirror?

Well, Let’s hope your skills in that department haven’t rusted with time. Ah, it cut but be to mess with that poor man’s brain yet again. Relax. Relax. This isn’t about Stephan. You recall Commander Michaels, I assume the Navy Seal. Megan ve had me back on. Mm-hmm. She needs him back under her control.

Well, don’t leave me in suspense. How have you prepared for your next encounter with Megan? After, uh, getting Shawn out of the house, I placed a small tracking device on her car. I mean, she can’t stay cooped up there forever. Eventually she’ll come out and she’ll be mine.

I am sorry. I spoiled the surprise, Megan, but I guess it’s just as well, right? EJ won’t be back from his business trip by tomorrow, so I wouldn’t worry about EJ crashing your party. I would like to include Kristen though. Have you seen her? Kristen? Yeah. Kristen, her sister. Blonde lady roaming around here a little.

It’s funny, I, I poked my head in her room and her bed looked like it hadn’t been slept in. You wouldn’t know anything about our whereabouts, would you?

Well, we can’t keep anything from you, can we, I’m afraid. Um, Kristen is indisposed tomorrow evening as well,

so Kristen won’t be there. You know this because, I saw her leave. She said goodbyes and she headed outta town last night.

I don’t understand. Well, the door, the front door is right through there, and she crossed the threshold out into the world and closed the door behind her. Oh, Megan, you know very well. That’s not what I mean. Ever since Kristen has been back, all she’s wanted is custody of her daughter back. That’s all she talks about.

And so now you’re telling me just out of the blue, she books a vacation somewhere. I said that she left town. I didn’t say she was going to The Bahamas and she has not given up on her daughter. Quite the contrary. She’s taken a proactive step. You more than anyone else should know that Damira has cannibalized all of the competent lawyers in town here.

So she’s headed to New York to see if she can find a custody lawyer who can grind Brady Black into the ground. And she had quite a significant list to go through, so I shouldn’t imagine that she’ll be home anytime in the next few days. Maybe weeks. So you said she left last night? I did. If you were alone when I came in here, who’s that extra breakfast plate?

Belonged to

tell me. Mr. Shin says, what does Megan ha have up her sleeve this time? If I remember correctly, her last escapade was about an elixir for eternal youth. She goes by De Marina, and all you need to know is that she requires a unique talent to fulfill a very ambitious plan. So the question is, Dr. Rolf, are you up to the task of getting Michael’s back under her control?

My boy, this would be child’s play. I could do it in my sleep.

That was, um, better than I imagined. I’ll admit, I’ve done a bit of imagining. Me too. Oh yeah. Oh yeah.

So now what? Well, I don’t, I don’t want us to keep imagining, you know, being together like this. I, I want it to keep happening. For real. Me too. Oh, yeah. Oh yeah.

All right, so let’s see. Whitley King, born in Scottsdale, Arizona. Youngest of five. Father was a pastor, mother school teacher. She paid her own way through college and nursing school. I mean, it’s, it’s all pretty unremarkable. Uh, she’s on her own now, so she’s a loner. Now. Now she was married once, divorced, widowed, just a couple of years back, and no kids.

Anything else? I’m sorry, man, but this just isn’t the profile of a criminal.

Theo. I know you had your hopes up. But upstanding citizens don’t just turn the crime without a reason. And by the looks of it, this woman doesn’t have a reason.

Well, sweetheart, does that clear everything up? Hell no. It’s just the opposite. Why the hell didn’t you tell me I had another son? Why would you keep that from me, Abe? I know I should have told you sooner. I know, but. But, but you haven’t seen Brandon since the wedding. Um, actually, he doesn’t really approve of us, and I’m sorry to say, but the two of you had a falling out and I, I just didn’t wanna bring this up.

You had so much going on and I didn’t wanna share that tension with you. And I just, it would’ve seemed cruel, you know, but now it’s out in the open and, uh, Hopefully that just clears everything up now,

I suppose. Yeah. Yeah. And you,

I owe you an apology. I was, I was harsh with you before. That’s okay. Pops. Um, I’m, I’m just worried about you and, uh, I want you to get better. You know what, Theo, you’ve had such a long flight coming in from South Africa. You must be exhausted. Let’s get you to the hotel and rest up. Yeah, I am feeling a bit tired.

Yeah. Let’s, I’ll walk you out. Sure. Alright, come on. See, you see Pops? Yeah.

You are so lucky that he has another son. I, I leave you over two minutes and damn it Jerry, I told you to improvise in case something happened. What? I tried, improv is hard. Okay. You know what? Forget it. Just don’t have any time to waste. There’s something else I need you to do for me,

and don’t worry, there’s no improv. Just wait here for a second. There’s something I gotta go to first. Jerry,

what are you doing?

Don’t worry, darling. This won’t take long.

Oh, what won’t take long. I need to get a blood sample from you. Blood sample. Yes. Right before I came home, I got a call from the hospital. They want you to come all the way back down there just to get one little sample. I told him that you’re doing very, very well, but just not quite well enough to make that trip all the way back down there for something I could do right here in the comfort of our own home.

Okay? Okay.

Okay. Here’s an option. How about we never get out of this bed? And we just, we just leave the world and it’s stupid rules behind tempting, but

we both have jobs to do. So here’s another option. Okay. How about at work? We are consummate professionals committed to the forest. Mm-hmm. But behind and closed doors we’re committed to each other. Oh, I like that option a lot.

You gotta get back to work. No, no, no. I have to get back to work for you. You have to get that rest that I ordered you to get. Oh gosh. Mm-hmm. I knew you would find a way to pull rank, but you know what? Hmm? To complete that game, huh? And I am not going to let you leave without giving me another kiss. Oh, okay.

Mm-hmm.

There we go. All done. I’ll just run this down to the hospital. You know, I could go with you, huh? I think I’m feeling up to it. Oh, no, no, no, no, no. You stay here and rest. I insist I’ll be back at two shakes of a lamb’s tail. Oh, I know you’re probably going stir crazy in here, but do this my way. It’s gonna be best for all of us.

Now listen up. This is what I need you to do. I was alone when you got here. But before that, my son, Dimitri was here and we were having breakfast fussy eater that he is. He turned his nose up at the breakfast sausages. Ah, I see. He is lost then. Good to know. I’ll make sure to include it on the menu for your last meal.

Your last meal is a bachelor before your wedding day sausages. Better write that down so I don’t forget.

Ah,

quite the shopping list, Ralph. That was the last time I performed work like this was under trying circumstances to say the least. Lots of proper tools. This time, instead of having to resort to a collection of kitchen implements and pub paraphernalia, not too much to ask in exchange for my talents, I suppose not.

Plutonium. If you want my work to stick this time, I need everything on that list. Everything okay? Okay. Relax. You’ll get it. Excellent. That is the subject. Now, we’ll make him available to you very soon. Is it really today to reconsider Megan’s fate? I mean, honestly. I mean, it doesn’t make any sense to disappear her into parts unknown if she’s just gonna escape and make her way back here.

Okay. Okay. Take my word for it. Once she’s gone, she’s not coming back. Is that arrogance or confidence? Michael’s experience.

What is it? It’s Megan, she’s leaving the house as we speak. I better go. Good luck. Luck will have nothing to do with this.

I guess Megan already left. I was gonna ask her if she thought there was a small chance Christian could make an appearance at our engagement party, but you’re right as you always are. I should just call her myself. All right. I’m gonna give her a ring and uh, let you know what she says. Love you.

Why the hell would Kristen go to New York without her phone

friend Michaels. You following me?

We have unfinished business. Megan,

your moments are numbered. Megan Deir, you Smart, evil witch. First sign of insanity. Hey, Jayda, talking to yourself. I’m in. Uhha. Right. Although I’m not sure that you heard what I was saying. Oh, I, I didn’t actually. Right, right. I was just bemoaning the fact that my son Rex really gets in touch with me. You know, the doctor.

Right, right. Mm. So, um, is that rave that I saw leaving before? It was actually. Mm-hmm. So did you take my advice?

Alright, let’s start from the beginning. Tell us everything you saw.

Hey, Brandon. No, no, there still no news about that. But I was at the station a couple of minutes ago when Eli and Raf got a call. Yeah, leave. I think, well, they rushed out to check it out without telling me much about it, but, um, hopefully we’ll finally get some answers.

You are gone for a long time, Pauline. I’m sorry Hun, but I wanted to wait for your test results and, and. You passed with flying colors. Good news. Oh, I was walking way over there when I saw someone by the edge of the docks and he looked, uh, totally out of it. What do you mean out of it? Uh, wobbly, like unsteady.

And then the next thing I know, uh, he just stumbles and hits his head on one of the pylons. And, and then splash right into the drink. And then I, I ran over here, but he must have sunk like a stone because I, I can’t swim otherwise I would’ve jumped in after him. Mm-hmm. And no one else was around. Uh, I called for help, but no one came.

All right. You stay here. We’re gonna check this out. Hey Ray, look at this. Yeah. It’s blood. It’s fresh.

Oh God, what’s this?

What is it?

Abraham Carver.

Steffy: Thank you.

[ Thomas sighing ]

Thomas: Hey, how you doing? You haven’t really said anything since we boarded.

Hope: I’m just tired. Ready to get home.

Thomas: Yeah, I get that. I’m really excited to get back into production.

Hope: I’m anxious to see my family. Thomas, what happened in rome should stay in rome.

Ridge: Here we are.

Brooke: Mm. Ah.

Ridge: We should do this more often.

Brooke: We should do this more often, but you never wanted to learn how to use this machine at home.

Ridge: What? No, I don’t mean– no, not– yes, I will, but I don’t mean that. I mean us.

Brooke: Oh.

Ridge: Traveling, rome, here together the two of us.

Brooke: [ Laughing ] Yes. This is nice. I love reconnecting with you.

Ridge: Yeah?

Brooke: Mm-hmm.

Ridge: Mm-hmm. All right. Let’s have our coffee and then we’ll go to the jet. We’re keeping everyone wai–

Brooke: Oh, wait. Wait. Let’s just– let’s slow down a little bit. Just relax, enjoy ourselves.

Ridge: Okay.

Brooke: Okay. We may have a few more surprises coming our way.

Ridge: Really? Hm.

[ Door opening ]

Wyatt: Yo.

Liam: Hi.

Wyatt: That’s– that’s all you got for me? Is “hey?” Hello, earth to liam. Hi, wyatt’s here. Um, why are you here? I thought you’d be enjoying some much needed italian vacay time with your wife?

Ridge: Oh, you’re right. You’re always right.

Brooke: Oh. I am?

Ridge: What’s the rush, right?

Brooke: You know, I just thought that some time alone would be good for us.

Ridge: Mm-hmm.

Brooke: Mm-hmm. You know how beautiful those gardens are.

Ridge: I don’t remember gardens.

Brooke: No?

Ridge: ‘Cause I had something much more beautiful to walk with.

Brooke: Oh.

Ridge: Uh-huh. When migraine strikes, you’re faced with a choice.

Carter: Ah. Waiting on ridge and brooke is driving me crazy, but them reuniting makes it worth it.

[ Hope laughing ]

Hope: I’m just happy my mom’s happy.

Carter: Rome lived up to its reputation of magic and miracles. I’m excited to check the latest orders. Congratulations.

[ Both grunting ]

Ridge: After all these years, you still amaze me.

Brooke: Oh, ridge.

Ridge: Yeah. You’re in a town that you know pretty well, you have gps on your phone and you still get lost. It’s amazing.

[ Brooke laughing ]

Brooke: It is amazing, but it guess I’m better at following my heart. It led me right where I am meant to be.

Ridge: Well, I can’t argue with that.

[ Saxophone playing ] What is that? Do you hear that?

Brooke: I don’t know.

Ridge: It’s nice.

Brooke: Yeah. Maybe we should go find out.

Ridge: Are you up to something?

Brooke: Come on, let’s go.

Wyatt: Liam, talk to me here.

Liam: Yeah. Okay. All right. Yeah. Um… I flew to rome to surprise hope. You know, ’cause we had been at odds lately, and I thought that I should be there for her. And, um, I wanted to make it in time for the preview and– and the press conference. But I– I– I– I wasn’T. I was too late. So I just, I took off looking for hope.

Wyatt: Okay. But how– how did you know where to go? I mean, rome is such a huge city. Like–

Liam: Believe me, I know. At first, I was just wandering around, but then I remembered, um, the colosseum. She– she had been talking about how much she wanted to see the colosseum and I figured that’s where she would be.

Wyatt: And was she?

Liam: Yeah. She wasn’t alone. I mean, at first, I couldn’t see who it was. Thomas.

Wyatt: Yeah, of course. I mean, he’s been obsessing and wanting your wife for years.

Liam: But I was wrong. I didn’t see it.

Wyatt: What? You didn’t see what?

Liam: Everything. Everything that steffy was telling me, the warnings. She– she was trying to get me to listen and I didn’t wanna hear it. I didn’t wanna believe that it wasn’t– thomas wasn’t the one to worry about. It was– it was hope.

Wyatt: What? No! No. Dude–

Liam: Wyatt, I saw this with my own eyes. Hope grabbed him and she kissed him. And if anything, he was the one taken off guard. But she– she– she initiated it. She kissed him. She kissed him. She wanted him. She chose him.

Hope: Look, steffy, I can understand if maybe you’re a little upset about your dad and my mom getting back together, but, you know, if it’s true love and a real commitment–

Steffy: Uh, you know all about love and commitment, right?

Hope: Steffy, this has been a really great trip and I would hate to sour that. I mean, the preview was a success. The press loved the designs. Our parents are happy. I mean, this– this should be a win.

Steffy: Yes. Especially for you and thomas. But you’re right. The preview was a hit. You must feel like you’re on some kind of a high right now. Rome was a magical place. Something you’ll never forget.

Brooke: This is andrea’s wife, veronica.

Veronica: Nice to meet you.

Ridge: Nice to meet you.

Brooke: And their precious daughter, virginia.

Ridge: Hi, virginia.

Virginia: Hi. Did you enjoy your stay in our villa?

Ridge: Uh, yeah. It’s beautiful. I just didn’t know that this is where we were.

[ Brooke laughing ]

Brooke: We can’t thank you enough. Really.

Veronica: It’s totally our pleasure.

Andrea: I hope you enjoyed my songs.

Ridge: Maestro, I’m– I’m speechless. Thank you.

Veronica: I know andrea does have that effect on people, but, you know, I’m so happy we were able to put this together for you.

Brooke: Oh, me too. Thank you.

Ridge: This is crazy, logan. Crazy.

Brooke: All for you.

[ Brooke chuckling ] – Hey. – Hey so,

Wyatt: I don’t even know what to say.

Liam: I don’t think there’s anything to say.

Wyatt: Are you– are you sure that’s what you saw? Because, I mean, you said yourself, you haven’t even had a chance to talk to her about it.

Liam: There’s no mistaking what I saw. Hope betrayed me with the one person she knows would end our marriage.

Wyatt: Uh, what can I do? Uh, what do you need, you know?

Liam: I don’t know. I think, um… I think maybe I just need to be alone.

Wyatt: Are you– are you sure? I mean, I– I can crash on the couch. Like, if you need somebody to be here. All right. Uh… I’m sorry, bro.

Thomas: Here you go.

Steffy: Oh, thanks.

Thomas: Welcome. That’s what your brother’s supposed to do. It’s a good trip, right?

Steffy: Yeah. Especially for you and hope.

Thomas: Yeah. We’d be nowhere without our co-ceo. I’m guessing finn’s gonna be excited to have you back home.

Steffy: I’m sure he has been holding it down and li and mom have been taking care of the kids.

Thomas: That’s good. I, um, I know why you’re upset, stef.

Steffy: Do you?

Thomas: Yeah. Dad and brooke being back together. We were there with mom when she told us she wanted a life with dad. She’s gonna be devastated, but it– it’ll be okay. I mean, if dad and brooke wanna be together, so be it. Mom will find her happiness. I know it.

Steffy: I just, uh, I guess I wasn’t prepared for being so surprised in rome. Definitely a kiss of fate.

Thomas: Kismet, for sure. All right, well, I’m gonna check in with the pilot. Good work.

Carter: Wouldn’t be a forrester event without some drama.

Hope: What are you talking about?

[ Carter chuckling ]

Carter: Ridge and brooke holding up this flight. But it’s all good. And you know what? I am relieved. Everything went great.

Hope: Well, you know, carter, you were a very big part of that success.

Carter: Thank you. But that’s not what I mean. Everyone is so happy. And it was a huge success and no scandals, no damage control to worry about. And on top of that, your mom and ridge are back together again. You gotta love a fairytale ending, right?

[ Hope chuckling nervously ]

[ Church bell ringing ]

Ridge: Wow. That was cool.

Brooke: It was cool.

Ridge: Andrea bocelli is singing for us here and– and we’re staying at his house. How did you pull that off?

Brooke: I have my secrets.

Ridge: Well, tell me your secrets. I need to know these things.

Brooke: Veronica loves forrester creations. She’s been wearing our designs for 20 years now. I thought you knew that.

Ridge: I did not know that.

Brooke: You didn’t?

Ridge: Uh-uh.

Brooke: Okay. Well, she was nice enough to let us use her villa. We’ve been friends. We’ve been staying in touch. She helped me set up the surprise.

Ridge: I– you know, I don’t think I’ve ever been starstruck like that.

Brooke: Andrea is amazing.

Ridge: Mm-hmm. You are amazing.

Brooke: Thank you. Well, maybe we should get out of here.

Ridge: Okay.

Brooke: Let them have their villa back.

Ridge: Oh, I thought you meant, you know, the other thing.

[ Brooke chuckling ] All right.

Brooke: Okay.

Ridge: Arrivederci, roma.

Brooke: Arrivederci.

Ridge: City of eternal love. Well, you were right. I will love you for all eternity.

Brooke: And I will love you forever.

Ridge: Yeah?

Brooke: Yeah.

[ Cannon blasting ]

[ Brooke chuckling ]

Brooke: Scared me.

Ridge: Every time.

Recap written by Suzanne

At Anna’s house, Laura, Robert, and Felicia tried to reassure Anna and convince her to join them at the Savoy, but Anna felt like a traitor and believed her work was incomplete. Felicia and Laura shared their experiences of reinventing themselves, and Laura suggested that Anna would find a new path. Anna agreed to accompany them to Russia.

At Laura and Kevin’s house, Trina visited Spencer, who was with Esme. Trina and Spencer shared their frustrations about the situation and their desire to get rid of Esme. They discussed evidence they had found that could incriminate Esme. Later, Trina and Spencer kissed in front of Esme, and Trina expressed hope that the situation wouldn’t last long.

At the hospital, Tracy, Olivia, and Brook Lynn searched for Ned, who had checked himself out against medical advice. They received a call from Nina, who informed them that Ned was at the Savoy. Ned, believing he was Eddie Maine, took the stage and caused concern for his family. Sonny and Michael approached Ned, and Sonny had a private conversation with Robert, expressing his concern about Sonny using Diane to get information. Ned’s family tried to convince him to go home, but he insisted on being alone. Sonny promised Olivia he would bring Ned home, and he returned to Nina, recognizing her big heart. Robert and Diane argued about their relationship, with Diane accusing Robert of not being good enough for her.

Recap written by Eva

Sam and Kristina are worried about how Molly is dealing with endometriosis diagnosis. Sam and Kristina decide to check on Molly and offer their support to her.

Cody and Spinelli almost get Gladys to admit that she planted the bracelet inside Cody’s suit pocket the night of the Nurses Ball. Mrs. Wu finds the microphone that Spinelli, Cody, and Sam were using to record Gladys. Mrs. Wu throws the microphone in the pool and tells Spinelli she will make peace between Cody and Gladys. Mrs. Wu demands that Gladys get the charges against Cody dropped right away. Mrs. Wu also tells Cody to keep his mouth shut about Gladys because nobody can find out he is a ringer in her poker games. Sam and Spinelli suspect that Cody, Gladys, and Mrs. Wu are connected and they want to find out the connection between them.

Alexis tells Tracey she should go along with Ned thinking he is Eddie Maine and wait until his memory returns. Gregory overhears Tracey call Alexis an iditol.

Sasha’s psychiatrist Dr. Montague overhears Gladys owes Mrs. Wu money and he offers to pay her debt, but he wants a favor from her.

The judge sentences Drew to three years in prison for insider trading because he thinks the six month plea deal is too lenient.

Nick: Gotta hand it to you, Nate.

Nate: Why is that?

Nick: Pretty smooth, man. And you know exactly what I’m talking about.

Tucker: Uh, can I get another one please? This could be interesting

**********************************

Adam: Don’t– don’t push me away. Just– just hear me out. How could you think that I could give a blanket permission that could take your life?

Sally: So, instead, you sacrificed our baby.

Adam: I had to make a lifesaving decision. Time was of the essence. Okay, when you– when you heard me before, you couldn’t look into my eyes, but now you can. Sally, we have never been able to lie to each other with much success, but if you would just look at me, you will know that I mean every word. You will see how much I am grieving our little baby girl and how I will never get over something like that, but at least I’m not grieving you. Even if I had opted to save the baby, there was no guarantee that she was going to live. I couldn’t risk losing both of you. And I’ll never regret saving you because you deserve to live.

Sally: Yes, but ava deserved to live too.

Adam: But you will be a mother again someday. You’ll be the mother that you always wanted to be. And even though I won’t be the father, your next baby will be the luckiest little being in the world. Because she’ll have you as her mother. If I could only save one life for sure, it had to be yours.

Sally: Just go. Please just go.

Ashley: Look at this little boys club. Such a joke.

Jack: I think the joke’s on you for allowing tucker to worm his way back into your heart.

Ashley: Really? Well, you got sucked into diane, didn’t you? Just like that.

Billy: No, it’s you. Tucker has suckered you.

Ashley: You know, I’ve had enough of you, billy. Why don’t you just take a walk?

Jack: Who the hell are you talking to like that?

Ashley: You don’t really have any business, do you? Sitting behind that desk, pretending that you know how to run a company, considering your long history of poor judgment calls. Didn’t you pass out when you were 16 in the snow? You almost died because you were drunk. Granted you were just a kid, but not that long ago, didn’t you lose the what, the company yacht in a poker game? I mean, seriously, Billy, I don’t think you should even be a part of this conversation, so…

Billy: You know I disagreed with her, jack, so, I guess, that’s what I deserve.

Jack: I’m afraid our sister is so blinded by her hatred she can’t think straight. Pretty soon, she’s going to come to regret that.

Ashley: I’m sorry. I can’t do it. I can’t stand here and talk about our family and love and especially our father with Diane standing here. I just– I appreciate what you’re doing, Traci. I really do. I understand that you’re trying to mend the cracks in our family, but something just–

Diane: Oh, Ashley, please, just stop. I will leave–

Ashley: Good.

Diane: And then you can all speak together, maybe more freely as a family.

Jack: That is more than gracious of you, sweetheart.

Diane: Yes, family first. And good luck hashing this all out. And whereas ashley might be determined to get you all to choose sides, just know that that is– that is not what I want.

Kyle: Thanks, mom.

Sharon: Hey, detective. This is a surprise.

Chance: Yeah, I was gonna say the same. I went by the ranch to check on you two and they said you were here. I figured after yesterday, you’d at least take one day off.

Sharon: Well, we talked about it, but we decided it was best to stay busy.

Faith: As opposed to sitting at home and thinking about that maniac cameron almost blowing us up. Which didn’t happen, thanks to you. The other best thing that we could do is get you some coffee and a couple of those butterscotch scones that you love, on the house.

Chance: Oh, come on, that’s not necessary.

Faith: You saved our lives. Scones are definitely necessary

***”””**********”*****”””*””””””””*””””

Sharon: Oh, good morning, Adam.

Adam: Oh, great. No cops when you need them, but they always show up bright and early for their donuts.

Sharon: Adam, please–

Adam: Where the hell were you and the GCPD when Sharon and Faith needed you? I swear to god, if anything would have happened to them, it would have been on your head, chance. Hi, I’m Darlene

Adam: I mean, how many clues did you miss? I heard the psycho was staying at the athletic club. I mean, what a clever hideout. Nobody would ever think to look there.

Sharon: Adam, okay, that’s enough, all right? You don’t know the whole story. Chance was a hero yesterday.

Adam: A hero? Really?

Sharon: Yeah, if he hadn’t arrived when he did, faith and i might not be here right now.

Adam: Well, maybe if he had found Kirsten sooner, faith wouldn’t have been kidnapped at all.

Faith: Be nice. You and chance actually have a lot in common.

Adam: Okay, somehow I doubt that.

Faith: You risked your lives to save mine. So, like it or not, you’re both heroes in my book.

Adam: No, I’m no hero.

Sharon: Give me a minute. Hey.

Adam: Hey. I’m sorry for the lack of manners back there.

Sharon: Well, you’ve been through a lot in the last 24 hours.

Interview with Jamie Bamber

TV Interview!

Jamie Bamber as Harry King in "Cannes Confidential" on Acorn

Interview with Jamie Bamber of “Cannes Confidential” on Acorn by Suzanne 6/23/23

It was wonderful to speak with Jamie on Zoom today. As I told him, I’ve been a huge fan of his ever since “Battlestar: Galactica,” which he starred in (20 years ago this December!). It was an outstanding series and one of the most successful TV reboots. He’s done great work since in many other shows, including “Law and Order UK” and “NCIS.” He has a great role in this new series as Harry King, a conman of sorts, who is incredibly charming (and also very annoying, especially to Camille, the police officer that he becomes involved with). He’s also haunted by his past.  The characters are complex and interesting, but it’s also a lighthearted and fun series, which lots of action. I hope you can watch it! It’s only 6 episodes, but they fly by. The show also has beautiful scenery and music.

Suzanne:   It’s great to see you. I enjoyed the screeners of the show. I loved it.

Jamie:   Oh, bless you. Thanks for watching. I really appreciate that.

Suzanne:   Yeah, it reminds me of [the 80’s TV show] Remington Steele a lot. I was a huge fan of that.

Jamie:   Yeah, so that’s definitely what we’re going for. We’re going for, you know, a police procedural that the whole family can enjoy, that should be fun, with characters that hopefully you’ll wish you were alongside them as they discuss the case and as they argue with each other, and as they get up to all sorts of scrapes that you want to be with them, sort of Lethal Weapon style.

Suzanne:   Right, right. Well, maybe you’ll be the next James Bond.

Jamie:   I’m waiting for the call.

Suzanne:   Oh, well, I’ve been a big fan of yours since Battlestar Galactica. Can you believe that this December is 20 years since it started?Jamie Bamber as (Apollo) on "Battlestar Galactica"

Jamie:   Strangely, I can believe it, because I know it’s true. But yeah, does it feel like 20 years ago? I don’t know what 20 years feels like, but I guess that’s what it feels like. Yeah, it’s a long time. And yeah, it’s weird. I was just with some of my cast mates at a convention in Phoenix. And, you know, we’re so close that we’ve never really been apart. We see each other regularly all the time. So, we’ve never really left the show behind. So, it is odd that was 20 years ago, but we love the milestones, because other people then remember us, and we get to be part of the conversation again, as we were back in the day.

Suzanne:   Oh, that’s great. That’s great. So, how did your involvement in this project come about?

Jamie:   Well, it was the first script I read after the first lockdown. And I know that, because, as soon as I was allowed to, I went to visit my mom, as people all over the world did with parents that they had lost touch with – not lost touch, but hadn’t seen. So, she lives in the south of France, and I happened to be there when another friend of mine from Marseille called me and said, “Look, I’ve just seen your name on a shortlist for a show called Cannes Confidential. Would you like to read the script?” It’s a friend of mine producing; I said, “Of course.” So, I read the script. I immediately fell in love with the nod to The Persuaders, that whole Cary Grant, Roger Moore, in the south of France kind of vibe. And I thought, “Well, if I can shoot a show, where I used to live, basically just down the road from where I used to live, I will do it.” And then, I read the dialogue, and I really liked it. I really enjoyed the tone, which is light and humorous, and the energy which comes from dialogue, rather than from, you know, any kind of sort of big angst or anything like that. So, yeah, I was in. The project been changed an awful lot. I can’t lie; I had some issues with some of the changes, but all the way through, the producers were great with me. They allowed me to sort of retain the essence of the character that I fell in love with, and they gave me some leeway with dialogue and stuff like that to maintain the sort of infuriatingly unflappable charm that Harry has on the surface, and yet also the sort of brooding tragedy that lies sort of somewhere beneath. And that was the attraction for me to play, a complicated man who seems effortlessly uncomplicated.

Suzanne:   It’s only six episodes, but they packed so much into it with the characters. The episode to episode mysteries and the backstories and the action. It didn’t seem like six episodes when I watched it. It seemed like a whole season. That’s a good thing.

Jamie:   Well, I appreciate that, and I’m glad. I’m glad. Well, I hope you enjoyed it. But, we’d love to make more than six episodes. Let’s see.

Suzanne:   Yeah, that’d be great. And I love the music too. I mean, the whole thing was kind of cinematic, but I felt that the music was very much so like those old movies that you’re talking about, but not in a bad way.

Jamie:   Yeah, no, I mean, that’s all done deliberately. I mean, the photographer Philippe Lozano is a true artist. He was very, very exacting. He had a style in mind, and it absolutely had to be filmic. And, you know, we were very much aware that is the element of the show. You have to want to be in Cannes. You have to fall in love with the city. That’s the other character. It’s the fourth character in the show. It’s the primary character in the show. And you’re right, the music is a sort of throwback to sort of, you know, those shows, The Persuaders. They’ve got simple little memes and little melodies for each character in each situation. Harry’s definitely got a theme that whenever he’s around, there’s this little trilling theme that sort of effortlessly jauntily flows its way through. Yeah, I agree with you. I’m very happy with those two elements as well.

Suzanne:   There’s one with a sort of, not haunted house, but [involving a séance] – and it was very Hitchcockian, and I thought the music turned very Hitchcockian.

Jamie:   Yeah, and you know there are references to Hitchcock films all the way through, and movies all the way through. One of Harry’s pseudonyms is Archie Leach, which is Cary Grant’s real name. And there’s a poster for To Catch a Thief in the hotel episode. So, yeah, those are all the influences, and we make no bones about it, that those are the shows we want to sort of evoke from the past. And we want to sort of celebrate that, because when you go to the south of France, when you go to that part of the world, you are stepping in the footsteps of the people that put it on the map over very many years, because, you know, they’re all just little fishing villages that have been transformed into these glamour spots by festivals and movie stars and famous films and TV shows.

Suzanne:   And have you ever played a character anything like this before? I’m trying to think if you have.

Jamie:   No, I don’t think anything quite like this. That’s really what drew me. I love watching old Cary Grant films. I love the effortlessness. He does nothing, and yet he seems to have everything. Roger Moore, I’m a massive admirer of Roger Moore, David Niven. Who else? Pierce Brosnan. You know, these are the people that we’ve exported over the years, and just the chance to play a character that’s even a little bit like that was a great opportunity. I’ve had characters in the past that have had elements of it, but they’re always in a much darker world. I mean, my character in Strike Back had elements of it, but that was a military action show where he was also a killer. You didn’t really get to dwell on that. So, yeah, it was fun just to play someone who seems to be effortless and light hearted, and yet, beneath, you know, there’s more to it than that.

Suzanne:   Was it difficult to walk this fine line you have there between charming and obnoxious?

Jamie:   Well, I think so. I’m not sure that I always did, but, yeah. And yeah, he is infuriating to her. So, the charm has to work on some level for the audience, but it also has to be deeply, deeply irritating to her, because she’s not someone who operates through charm. She operates through interrogation, arrest, investigation. She’s very direct, and Harry’s deflective. He deflects everything that comes anywhere near him. And yeah, you do see him actually, as the series progresses, as, you know, you see elements where he’s dealing with relationships that pre-exists the world he’s now in, and you see that his past implies a very different character than he’s now inhabiting. So, there’s a bit of an actor to him.

Jamie Bamber as Harry King in "Cannes Confidential" on AcornSuzanne:   Yes, and there’s a lot of action in the show. The women do, I would say, probably most of it, but you do a lot of it, too. Did you do any of your own stunts?

Jamie:   Well, I did all my own stunts, because I don’t think I did very many stunts. I think you’re being very generous to say that I was involved at all. I think, you know, maybe I stuck out a foot at one point to apprehend being a criminal, but no, Harry’s superpower are his words and conversation and understanding how to gain people’s confidence and how to push buttons. That’s his thing. The girls, the female police officers in the show, are very much the action heroes.

Suzanne:   You didn’t do a lot of fighting. You did some running. You rode a motorcycle.

Jamie:   I ride a motorcycle, but then also I have my motorcycle taken over and ridden far more aggressively than I would ride. So yeah, no, I enjoyed all that though. I’ve done a lot of action in my time, and it was nice to watch other people enjoy their action. I think Harry can probably handle himself, but that’s not the world he’s choosing to operate in at this particular point. He’s very – he’s got several different personas. This one is not a man of action; it’s a man of charm and taste. And he’s a [unintelligible], and he likes beautiful things. And he dresses well, and he’s not into running around and sweating too much.

Suzanne:   Well, thank you. I really appreciate your talking to me this morning. What time is it? Where you are?

Jamie:   It’s just about a quarter past three in the afternoon. Lovely time of the day. What about where you are?

Suzanne:   It’s a little after 9am.

Jamie:   Oh, morning coffee time.

Suzanne:   Yes, definitely. All right. Thank you. Good luck with it.

Jamie:   Thank you. I appreciate that.

Belle and Talia meet with Melinda. Belle thanks Melinda for meeting with them and goes over how Talia has agreed to testify against Colin in exchange for her freedom but Melinda reveals that she has changed her mind and no longer wants to trade one dangerous criminal for another. Belle argues that it’s not Melinda’s job to determine whether she is dangerous or a criminal. Melinda declares that in court, she will present a case that will put Talia away for a long time.

Rafe and Jada go over the files in Abe’s missing persons case. Rafe talks about hoping they would find something that they missed if they went over everything again but they didn’t. Jada encourages that they will find Abe and holds Rafe’s hand.

Paulina sits at home as Chanel finishes a call with the health department. Chanel informs her that they are going to let her reopen the Bakery but Paulina continues to worry about Abe.

Whitley brings Abe oatmeal for breakfast. Abe remarks on having this every day. Whitley pretends to be Paulina and talks about renewing their vows. Abe says it would’ve been nicer if their family was there. Whitley then says she has a surprise for him and announces his son is back in Salem.

Theo goes to the Brady Pub where Kate greets him, saying it’s so good to see him but wishes it was under better circumstances. Kate praises Theo for delivering Abe’s speech at the Juneteenth celebration. Kate encourages Theo about how strong Abe is and that he’s working on getting back to him. Theo wishes he could be so sure.

Abe tells Whitley that he thought Theo lived overseas. She responds that he came back home because of his situation. Abe asks if he’s going to see him. Whitley says that’s right. Abe feels maybe seeing his son will lead to him remembering everything.

Kate tells Theo that she and Abe have known each other for a long time, but she really got to know him when Theo was in the hospital, fighting for his life after being shot. Kate talks about Abe never leaving Theo’s side and she watched him go through parent Hell. Kate thinks Abe’s love for Theo is what willed him to come back and she believes that same love is going to will Abe back to him. Theo hopes that she’s right. Theo then gets a text and says he has to go because someone needs him right now. Kate asks what it is but Theo rushes out of the Pub.

Whitley tells Abe not to get his hopes up because he may not remember Theo right away and that’s okay because these cases just take time. Abe asks why Theo isn’t there now. Whitley says seeing him will be stressful for both of them, so he wanted her to break the news to him first. Whitley adds that she just texted Theo and he’s on his way.

Eli surprises Rafe at the police station. Rafe hugs him and says it’s good to see him. Rafe introduces Eli to Jada, noting that he’s also Abe’s son in law. Eli figured he’d come by and see if he could help. Jada hopes a fresh pair of eyes may help. Jada shows Eli what they have and says they spent the night going over everything but nothing is jumping out at them. Jada wants to walk him through everything but Rafe tells Jada to go home and get some rest and he’ll let her know if anything happens. Jada reluctantly accepts and tells Eli it was good meeting him and she hopes he can bring them some luck. Jada then exits. Rafe tells Eli that Jada is great and she’s been through a lot but never gives up and she’s a real asset to the team. Eli tells Rafe that he’s happy for him as she seems like a good girl and there’s clearly something going on between them. Eli tells Rafe that he knows he’s not going to deny it. Rafe argues that he only said Jada has an incredible work ethic and has been a good asset to the team. Rafe admits it’s been intense between them because they have been working so closely together. Eli says they have worked a lot of cases and they never held hands, but when he walked in, Rafe and Jada were holding hands. Rafe then admits that he and Jada are attracted to each other, but they also both know that nothing can come of it.

Jada goes to the Brady Pub where Kate greets her. Jada hugs her and says she’s so glad to see her alive and back. Kate comments that Jada looks like she’s feeling a little rough and asks if she had a night on the town. Jada says they spent all night at the station going over Abe’s case. They sit together as Kate calls it a nightmare and prays that Abe is somewhere alive and well. Jada repeats that she and Rafe spent the night going over everything they have. Kate hopes their personal relationship won’t be a distraction to working on the case. Jada asks why it would be. Kate admits that she reads Leo’s column and he recently quoted that Jada and Rafe were being affectionate in the office. Kate says she doesn’t put stock in gossip but Jada admits that it’s the truth.

Paulina informs Chanel that Olivia is packing to go home and she’s pretty upset about leaving before they found Abe. Chanel is distracted on her phone and asks what she said. Paulina asks if she’s okay. Chanel explains that she was just about to post a job opening for Sweet Bits Bakery and it gave her a bad case of deja vu. Paulina guesses that it reminded her of Talia. Chanel informs Paulina that she ran in to Talia as she’s out on bail and was putting up missing posters for Abe. Paulina questions why she was doing that. Chanel guesses she was trying to help her case in hopes that Melinda goes easy on her.

Belle argues with Melinda about Talia and Colin. Belle says that Colin is responsible for everything Talia did and brings up that Colin, on his own, held a gun to Paulina’s head while trying to get her to jump from a roof. Belle asks if Melinda really thinks a guy like that should walk. Melinda argues that she has a rock solid case against Colin without Talia’s testimony since Jada was an eye witness which will give her enough to lock up Colin for a long time. Melinda mocks that it would be hard to keep a relationship while they are in separate prisons. Melinda brings up that she has Talia’s confessions to drugging the biscuits and trashing Paulina’s office, so she could use her own words to prove that she’s guilty as hell. Belle says there is no need to pile on. Melinda questions if she’s supposed to be polite to Talia when her drugged biscuits sent her to the emergency room and could’ve killed someone. Melinda asks if Talia even thought about that while Talia holds back tears. Belle argues that Talia saved Paulina and Chanel’s lives while risking her own. Melinda argues that they never would have been on the roof if not for Talia. Melinda states that she does not take her job lightly and she’s gone over the evidence. Belle presents Melinda with a paper that she says is something new.

Whitley moves Abe from his wheelchair to the couch. Abe talks about being nervous and hoping that he recognizes Theo. Whitley encourages Abe that Theo will understand his condition. There’s a knock at the door and Paulina then brings in someone else to pretend to be Theo.

Chanel tells Paulina that she thinks Talia is trying to work an angle that everything was Colin’s fault. Paulina asks if that’s what she said. Chanel admits that Talia apologized and tried to take responsibility for what she did. Paulina asks if Chanel is thinking of forgiving Talia. Theo then arrives and hugs Paulina. Theo says he came as soon as he got Chanel’s text and asks what’s up. Paulina explains that Olivia is about to leave and she refused to without seeing Theo one more time.

Abe tells “Theo” that he’s sorry that he doesn’t remember him. Whitley encourages that they just need time together. “Theo” talks about his flight from South Africa and gets it mixed up with South Africa while Whitley tries to cover. “Theo” asks to talk to “Paulina” outside so they step out, leaving Abe confused. “Theo” complains that she didn’t tell him that this was the Mayor and argues that he knows something is off. Whitley blames him and says she sent him Theo’s background while he complains that he didn’t have time to read all of that and he didn’t expect to get grilled. He argues that Abe is a good guy that needs help and his real family. “Theo” tells Whitley that he’s sorry and he can’t do this.

Eli questions Rafe saying nothing can come of this when he and Jada are both single. Rafe brings up the jobs. Eli says he knows from experience that two cops getting together isn’t easy but he and Lani proved it can work. Rafe argues that they were partners while he’s Jada’s boss and there are new regulations in place that call for grounds for dismissal. Eli admits he forgot about the new regulations. Rafe knows Eli must be thinking he has real bad luck when it comes to women and he would be right.

Kate tells Jada that she’s happy for her and Rafe. Jada explains that the only reason Rafe kissed her was because he was high on those tainted biscuits. Kate feels that when Jada talks about Rafe, there may be something there. Jada says they work together and brings up the guidelines. Kate says screw the guidelines and mentions how she was just telling Eric and Sloan that life is short, so they don’t want to waste the little time they have or else they’re just getting older. Kate encourages Jada to just go for it if she’s interested.

Belle asks Talia if she takes responsibility for drugging the biscuits and vandalizing Paulina’s office. Talia confirms that she does. Melinda says she’s just making her case for her. Talia then reveals that she is under the care of a psychiatrist, Marlena Evans. Belle hands Melinda a signed affadavit from Marlena, detailing their relationship and says she truly believes that this changes everything. Melinda reads it over and states that the worst thing about being in an abusive relationship is the shame you feel. Melinda reveals that her ex-husband was a very controlling man that she was so afraid of, to the point that she kept her daughter a secret. Melinda admits she sometime wonders how she found the strength to break away from him. Belle tells Melinda that she’s so sorry that they both have had to suffer like that, but it’s clear that Melinda understands what Talia has been through and she knows that was really painful for her to share. Belle asks what Melinda thinks this means for Talia’s case.

Chanel and Theo return to Paulina from sending Olivia off in a taxi. Paulina offers Theo breakfast but he declines and says he has to get going to the police station to help find Abe.

Jada questions Kate really thinking that she should go for it with Rafe. Kate admits that she and Rafe have a history as they dated years ago and even though she had issues with a lot of things he did, she will say he’s a rare breed and a good man. Jada brings up the work thing. Kate thinks they should just make that work out. Kate suggests no more PDA in the office but what they do in the privacy of their own homes is no one else’s business.

Rafe gives Eli all the witness statement and repeats that maybe a fresh pair of eyes will see something they missed. Eli notes that Rafe can barely keep his eyes open, encouraging that he should take his own advice and go home, get something to eat, and rest. Eli says he’ll call if he needs anything. Rafe admits he’s too tired to argue. Rafe tells Eli that it’s good to see him and he’ll be back this afternoon. Rafe then exits the room. Eli opens up the folder on Whitley’s witness statement and begins to read it.

Whitley stops “Theo” and says he can’t back out on her now as she paid him good money and calls it a great challenge for an actor. Jerry argues that he’s an actor, not a con man. Whitley claims that she’s not asking him to con anybody. Whitley brings up his grandmother having no health insurance, but thanks to her, she got the help she needed in the hospital so he owes her big time. Whitley claims that this is only to help Abe with his recovery. Jerry argues that it’s only confusing him while Whitley says she is Abe’s nurse, so she knows best. Jerry asks what to do if Abe starts asking questions. She encourages him to just improvise and make stuff up. Whitley then gets a phone call from Eli, who says he is investigating the disappearance of Abe Carver and he needs her to come to the police station right away. She claims she can’t because her cat is sick and she can’t leave him. Eli says he’ll come to her then but Whitley then says she’ll just have a neighbor come over and she’ll see him soon. Whitley tells Jerry to go be with Abe because she has to go somewhere. She offers him an extra $100 to stay with Abe. Jerry reluctantly agrees as Whitley hurries off. Jerry then heads back inside to pretend to be Theo. Abe asks what they were talking about, where “Paulina” went, and what is going on here.

Belle goes to the police station and sees Rafe. Rafe asks how Shawn is. Belle says he’s not great as he’s still reeling from everything that happened in Greece and on top of that, he’s feeling guilty about not being able to help find Abe. Rafe tells her to tell Shawn not to worry as Eli is there, so they have it covered. Rafe asks if there’s anything he can do for Belle. Belle responds that she’s actually there to see Jada as she has news about Talia’s case.

Melinda tells Talia that she will recommend probation, community service, and continuing to see Marlena. Talia thanks her and says she never expected this to happen. Talia asks if there’s anything she can do. Melinda instructs her to just keep going to therapy, work on her self worth, and get to a place where she can feel that she deserves with kindness and respect, so that what happened with Colin will not happen again.

Paulina reminds Chanel that they were talking about Talia before Theo showed up. Paulina asks again if she’s thinking about forgiving her. Chanel says that hearing Talia talk about Colin and how he manipulated her and took advantage of her to get her to do things that she didn’t really want to do. Paulina calls it emotional abuse, like what Ray did to her. Chanel relates it to what Colin’s father did to her. Paulina asks if she thinks Talia was a victim in all this. Chanel acknowledges that Talia loved Colin and was afraid that she would lose him if she didn’t do what he told her to do. Chanel hates what Talia put them all through, but knows that Talia is in real pain. Paulina adds that it will take a long time to get over it.

Abe asks Jerry again what he had to talk to “Paulina” about. He tells Abe that she got a call and had to run an errand. Abe asks again what they had to talk about alone. Jerry claims that he asked her if him showing up here upset Abe and says it’s weird as he doesn’t know how to talk to him when he doesn’t remember him. Abe agrees that it is weird and says he’s sorry. Jerry says it’s not his fault and guesses they just have to try to get to know each other again. Jerry sits down and asks Abe about the White Sox.

Whitley goes to the police station and recognizes Theo. Theo asks if he knows her. Whitley says no but that she was one of Abe’s nurses and she was there when Paulina was trying to jog his memory. Whitley calls Abe a wonderful man and calls it a terrible thing that happened to him. Theo asks why she is here. Whitley explains that she got a call from Eli to come down. Theo reveals that he was here to see Eli too, explaining that Eli is Abe’s son in law , so he’s here to help him and they are not going to stop until they find Abe. Theo notes that Whitley seems nervous. She says she just doesn’t know why she was called down since she already told the police everything she knows. Eli then comes over and tells Theo that he needs to speak to Whitley alone. Theo agrees to wait as Eli takes Whitley in to the interrogation room. Eli thanks her for coming in and has her sit down. Whitley repeats that she already told the police everything. Eli says now she can tell him everything she knows. Eli says he was going over her statement about the day that Abe went missing and she was on duty. Whitley confirms that she was but she told the police that she didn’t see anything. Eli notes that she couldn’t have because she left work early, hours before the end of her shift, and he’d like to know why.

Belle returns to Talia and asks if she’s okay. Talia says she’s overwhelmed and can’t believe she’s not going to prison. Talia thanks Belle. Belle says that sometimes the prosecution and defense work together to get it right. Belle mentions that she went to the station to tell Jada the good news but she was already gone. Talia asks if she should call her but Belle says she thinks Rafe was going over to tell her.

Rafe goes to Jada’s and knocks on the door, saying he has some good news. Jada then answers the door in a towel.

Paulina tells Chanel that after all the terrible things Colin did, he still denies taking Abe out of the hospital. Chanel says the police say they are sure he didn’t but she knows that Eli is going to find out who did and make sure that person pays.

Whitley claims to Eli that she was sick that day so she went home early. Eli brings up Whitley saying her cat was sick earlier and asks what was wrong with her on the day that Abe went missing. She claims she felt she was getting the flu so she couldn’t be around patients like that. Eli notes that she didn’t mention that in her statement. Whitley didn’t think it was important. Eli says that’s not up to her and asks her to tell him everything that happened that day without leaving anything out. Eli then gets a call and says he’ll be right back. Eli answers the call and exits the room. Whitley thinks back to Theo saying that they are not going to stop until they find Abe. Whitley declares to herself that she doesn’t have a choice and that Abe Carver has to die.

Abe tells Jerry that he thinks he’s a Cubs fan. Jerry claims he forgot. Abe apologizes and knows this is hard on him. Abe then gets a headache and thinks he needs to rest. Jerry offers to help Abe up but notes that he doesn’t seem very steady and asks if he has a cane to help him out. Abe then stops and has a flashback to a conversation with Theo about his walking cane before his wedding. Abe looks confused as Jerry asks if something is wrong.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

Well, thank you for agreeing to see us this morning. I know how busy you are. I am. So let’s keep this short. Okay, short. It is, uh, as we’ve discussed, my client has agreed to testify against Colin Bedford in exchange for some certain considerations. Actually, I’ve changed my mind about that. Excuse me. Yeah.

I think it sets a terrible precedent for a truly dangerous criminal to be given a walk in exchange for pointing the finger at our co-conspirator. Okay, well, it’s not your job to decide whether she’s dangerous or a criminal. It’s the court’s job. And in court I will present an open and closed case that will put Ms.

Hunter away for a long, long time.

I hope that if we went over everything again, maybe. So maybe we’d find something that we’d missed and all we missed was a night’s sleep. Yeah, thanks. Now they said the academy, that missing person cases go dry after three days. It’s been missing now almost three weeks. Rafe, we’ll find him. Yeah,

that that’s great. I will. Thank you so much. That was the Salem Health Department. They’re letting me reopen sweet bits. That’s wonderful, baby. Oh mama. I’m sorry. It wasn’t news about Abe. I keep saying to myself any day now, his memory will come back. The doctor said it could, and my, my phone will ring and it will be him.

I’ll go wherever he is and bring him home.

Time for breakfast time. Breakfast from my baby. Here we go. Here we go. Bon Appit boat meal again. Well, it’s, it’s heart healthy, and I want you to live a long life. Well, facing this every morning is going to seem like a long life. You know, when we renewed our vows yesterday, I promised to love you through sickness and health, and I’m gonna do my best to make sure that it’s mainly in health.

Wasn’t it nice to say those words again? Yesterday? Would’ve been nicer if we’d had our family there. Oh wow. That means you’re gonna really like the surprise that I have for you. Bacon. Oh, it’s better than bacon. Your son is back in Salem,

Theo. Oh my God. It is so good to see you again. Hi Kate. Oh, honey, I wish it was under circumstances. Me too. Listen, I uh, I heard your speech at Juneteenth. No, no, my, that was my dad’s speech. No, honey, you made that speech your own. He would be so proud of you. Do you think he’s gonna be okay? Of course I do.

You know how strong he is? Right now I know that he is working on getting back to you. I wish that I could be so short.

Theo thought you told me he lived overseas. He did, but he came back home because of your situation. So I’m going to see him. That’s right. You know, I’m thinking if I can see my son, my own flesh and blood, then I can remember him and then I can remember everything.

Like Sam through the hour. So are the days of lives.

You know, your dad and I had known each other for a long time, but I think I really got to know him. When thanks to me, you were in the hospital fighting for your life. No, I think that was, thanks to me being shot. Yeah. But that was my fault, you know? No, he never left your bedside ever, except of course when the doctors would, would make him leave your room.

I watched him go through parent hell, and he never wavered. I think, I think it was his love for you that we’ll do to come back and I, I really believe that that same love is gonna wheel him back to you. I hope you’re right.

I’m sorry, I, I have to go. Someone needs me right now. Okay. Phil, what is it?

Now, Abe, listen to me. I I don’t want you to get your hopes up. You know, you may not remember him right away, and that’s okay. I keep telling you these kinds of cases. Sometimes they just take time. Wait a minute, why isn’t he here? I mean, if he came here to see me, why? Why didn’t he come straight here? Well, because seeing him right away is gonna be stressful for both of you.

He wanted me to break it to you first, and so I did. And I just texted him and he’s on his way.

Eli. Whoa. What’s happening man? Wow. It’s good to see you. Hey, you doing hi? Looking good, man. Thanks. You too. Uh, hey, um, this is, uh, Jada. I don’t think you two, I’m sorry. Detective Hunter, this is, uh, Eli Grant. F b I used to work at Salem pd. Nice to meet you. Same here. Yeah. He’s also Abe’s, uh, son-in-law. Oh.

Figured. I’d come by and see if there’s any, anything I can do to help. Great. Well hopefully a fresh pair of eyes will help us find something that we missed. Yeah. This is everything we got. All right. You guys been pretty thorough? Oh yeah. Yeah. We spent the night going over everything, but, uh, nothing’s jumping out at us.

So, uh, let me walk you through So far. No, no, no. Jada, you go home. You’ve already been here all night. Well, so have you go home, get something to eat and get some rest. That’s an order. Has he always been this wishy That’s one of his best qualities. So, go on. I’ll let you know if something happens here.

Please do. Okay, Eli, it was great meeting you. Hopefully you can bring us some luck. Yeah, have a good one. See ya.

She’s great. She’s great. She’s been through a lobby. She never gives up. She’s not real. Ask that to the team.

What, what with the look? No, no. It’s. I’m, I’m happy for you. Oh, you’re, you’re okay. You’re happy for me? Yeah. She seems like you know. Good girl. Clearly there’s something going on between you two.

I know you’re not gonna deny it.

All I said was that Jada has an incredible work ethic and that she’s been a real asset to the team. And yeah, you know, it’s been intense between us because we have been working so closely together, especially on this case, and I have worked a lot of big cases and as intense as they’ve been. I don’t recall us ever holding Nance when I walked in.

Y’all were holding Nance.

Okay, fine. Mm, fine. All right. Jada and I are, we’re attracted to each other, but we also both know that nothing can come of it.

Jada. Hi. Oh my God, Kate. Oh my goodness. I am so glad to see you alive and back. Well, how do you think I feel, you know, this probably shouldn’t be the first thing I say to you, but you look like you’re feeling a little rough. Well, don’t sugarcoat it. Well, I’m just saying you dragged yourself in here. Did you have a night on the town?

Yeah, a night on the town at the station house going over Abe’s case. Oh yeah, I know. I’m so sorry. Of course. Of course. I’ll tell you. It’s just a nightmare, isn’t it? I’m just praying that he is somewhere alive and well. Yeah, we are all praying that. Ralph and I spent the night going over yet again.

Everything that we have, right. You know, um, I hope you’re a personal relationship isn’t going to be a distraction, you know, working on the case now, why would it be? Well, I mean, I have to admit that I do read Lady Whistle. Lowers column every once in a while. And, uh, recently she reported that you and Ray were seen being affectionate in the office.

So kissing you mean? Yeah. Well I wasn’t being so blunt. I mean, but it’s not like I had put stock in idle gossip anyway. Well, it’s, it’s not idle gossip. It’s, it’s the truth.

Big mama’s packing to go home. And of course she wouldn’t even hear of me trying to help. She’s pretty upset about going home before we found aid. What’d you say? Nothing important. Are you okay? Yeah, yeah. I, uh, was just about to post the job opening at Sweet Bits, and then I got caught in a bag. Kind of dejavu reminded you of Talia?

No, I didn’t need to be reminded. I ran into her yesterday. She’s out on bail. Did she threaten you? No, nothing like that. She was putting up posters asking if anyone had seen Abe, why would she be doing that? She was probably trying to help her case so that the DA will go easy on her. Wait, but you said that Talia, let me handle this.

My client and Colin Bedford are not co-conspirators. Yes, Talia committed some crimes at his instigation, which means that he is responsible for everything Talia did at his behest. But let’s not forget that on his own, he held a gun to Chanel Dupre’s, head to coerce Paulina Price to jump off a five story building.

Do you really think a guy like that should walk? Because without my client’s testimony, without your client’s testimony, I still have a rock solid case against Bedford. Ms. Hunter’s own sister, a Salem police officer is an eyewitness to what happened on that roof, and Paulina Price will testify to his attack against Mayor Carver, which will give me enough to lock your boyfriend up for a very long time.

He’s not my boyfriend. Not anymore. Well, that’s probably for the best I’ve heard. It’s hard to keep a relationship when each of you are serving long sentences in different correctional facilities. Oh, watch it more. I’ve got your confession to your own sister about you drugging those biscuits. And trashing Paulina Price’s office, which means I can use your own words to prove to the judge and jury that you are guilty as hell.

Okay? There is no need to pile on Melinda. Oh, am I supposed to be polite to her? I am a fit and healthy woman. And your drugs that you put in those biscuits sent me to the emergency room. Heaving my guts out all night long. It could have killed a child, a senior, anyone with a compromised immune system. Did you even think about that?

Did you? Okay. Did you think about the fact that she actually saved Chanel and Paulina’s life and nearly died in the process? You would’ve never been on that roof in the first place if it wasn’t for your client. Look, I don’t take my job lightly, and I’ve gone over and over the evidence. And there is nothing there that indicates any kind of leniency.

Okay, here’s something new.

I got Jack. There you go. Okay. I’m a little nervous. I, I just hope I, I, I hope I recognize him. If I don’t, I, I don’t know how that make him feel. Oh God. I told him about your condition. He’ll understand. You seem a little nervous. Maybe just a little. Are you and Theo getting along? Well, to be honest, we don’t really know each other that well.

I’ll get it.

Well, here he is, your son, Philo. Hello Pops.

I also think that Toya is working some angle trying to convince everyone that all the things she did were Colin’s fault. Is that what she said? No. No. She apologized and tried to take responsibility for what she did. So tell me this, are you thinking of forgiving her?

Oh, I’ll get it. Hmm.

Hey y’all. Oh, I’m so glad you’re here, honey. Hey, I came as soon as I got your text. What’s up? Oh, mama Price is uh, leaving for Florida this morning and she wouldn’t leave us saying goodbye to you. What she actually said was, I have to see that handsome face of his. One more time.

Is this my son? Yes it is. It’s uh, good to see you again, pops. Thank you for coming. No problem, sir. Uh, you really don’t remember me? I am, I’m sorry. I, I don’t, well just give it time. You two just need to get to know each other again. Theo, sit down.

Uh, yes. Would you, uh, like some coffee? Uh, no, I’m good. Oh.

Uh, uh, so, uh, how was your flight? Uh, it was good. Long. Yeah? Yeah. So, uh, where, where are you living now? Uh, south America, South Africa. I, uh, sorry, uh, a major jet lag. I had a layover in Brazil. I got mixed up. You, you had a stop over in Brazil on a flight from South Africa. That’s, uh, Boy, that’s way out of the way.

I, uh, got a deal. Cheap flights. Huh? Must have had it whole day. You know, you know what aid You are always so good at geography. You know me. I get lost on my way to the hospital sometimes. Oh, pops. Would you mind if I had a talk with Paulina out in the corridor? Why I, I don’t think that’s necessary. Paulina, right, please.

Yes. Excuse us. Let’s talk.

You didn’t tell me that The guy you were talking about was the mayor. What has she been with? Amnesia. He’s no fool. I mean, he’s not only good at geography, but he knows damn well there’s something going on. Because like an idiot. You said that you were from South America. I gave you Theo’s background. I didn’t have time to read all that stuff you sent and, and I, I didn’t expect to get grilled or, or that or that.

What? That he’s a good guy who needs help, needs his real family. I’m sorry, I can’t do this. You mean nothing can come of it? She’s single, right? She is. Okay. Well so are you. What’s the problem? Good jobs. Okay. Look, I know from experience that two cops getting together isn’t easy, but Lonnie and I proved that it’s possible.

You and Lonnie were partners. I’m Jade’s boss. Okay. And there are now new regulations in place. Fraternization with a subordinate is now grounds for dismissal. Yeah. Forgot about those new regulations. Mm-hmm. That sucks, man. Yeah. Uhhuh. And I know you’re looking at me right now and you’re thinking, oh man, this guy.

He’s got some real bad luck when it comes to women. Oh no. Yeah, I was not thinking that bad. You were. Cause I saw you. All right. You were and you’d be right. Yeah. Well, I am happy for race, happy for you. Well, there’s nothing to be happy about. I mean, the only reason he kissed me was because he was high on those tainted biscuits.

Well, whatever the reason, I don’t know. It seems like when you talk about him, there is a little something there. Okay. Maybe. Yeah. But I mean, we work together and, and plus the city council has all these guidelines. Oh, screw the guidelines. Are you kidding me? You know, I was just telling Eric and Sloan, life is short.

You know, we don’t wanna waste what little time we have. You’re just waiting. You’re just getting older, right? I mean, if you’re interested, you should go for it.

What is that? In a second? Talia, do you take responsibility for drugging those biscuits? Yes, I do. And do you also take responsibility for breaking into and vandalizing MS Price’s office? Yes, I do. You’re just making my case for me. Talia, are you also currently under the care of a psychiatrist? Yes. Um, Dr.

Melina Evans. This is a signed affidavit by Dr. Evans detailing the nature of the relationship between Talia and Colin, and I truly believe this changes everything.

The worst thing about being in a abusive relationship is the shame that we feel. I. A man treats us badly and somehow we still believe it’s our fault.

Years later, we think we’re past it and comes back like malaria. He not only makes us feel unworthy of his love, but of anyone else’s, you keep saying. We and us.

My ex-husband, Mr. Trask, he was a very, um,

shall we say, controlling man. I was so afraid of him. So cow. That I denied the existence of my own daughter. I kept, kept her a secret, um, from him, from the world.

Uh, sometimes I still wonder how I found the strength to break away from him.

I am so sorry. I I’m so sorry that you both have had to suffer like that.

So it’s, it’s clear though, Melinda, that you understand what Talia’s been through, and I, I know that that was really painful for you to share.

What do you think this means for her case?

You are back already. Your mom would not let me drive to the airport. So we got our taxi. And don’t worry, I slept a driver, a 21. Big mama wasn’t looking that way. He’d get more than Bible verses for a tip. Good for you. So Theo, you, you had breakfast, what would you like? No, nothing for me. Thanks. It was great to see your mom again, but I’m afraid I’ve gotta get going.

I’m gonna head down to the police station. I’ll find my dad.

So you really think I should go forward with Rae? Okay. Full disclosure, Ray and I have, uh, a little bit of history. We actually dated for a while. It was years ago. And, uh, even though I had issues with a lot of things that he did, I will say he’s one of that rare breed, a good man. But the work thing don’t, you can just make the work thing work out, you know?

I mean, I would suggest no more p d a in the office, but when you and Rave are in the privacy of your own home, Pass off the city council or anyone else’s business. Right.

Okay. Please. Those are all the witness statements. Like Jada said, maybe a fresh pair of eyes see something we missed. Speaking of eyes, you could barely keep yours open. Why don’t you take your own advice, go home, get something to eat, take a shower and get some rest. I’ll call you if I need anything. I’m actually too tired to argue with you.

That’s cuz you know I’m right. Mm-hmm. Right’s. Good to see you, bro. See you too. I’ll be back this afternoon. Don’t set an alarm. Mm.

You can’t back out on me now. You agreed to do this. Plus I paid you good money. This is a great challenge for an actor. I’m an actor, not a con man. I’m not asking you to con anybody. And wait a minute. Didn’t your grandmother get help when she was in the hospital? Here we go. Yeah, that’s right. Here we go.

Your grandmother had no health insurance, but thanks to me. She got the help that she needed. And what did it cost her? Nothing. Right? Nothing because I doctored her intake form so she could get the help she needed. So you owe me. Jerry, big time. You have been accepted into the family since you’re feeling so sorry for Pops.

I only wanted you to act like his son to help him with his recovery, but it’s not gonna help him. I mean, I can see that it, it’s only confusing him. Listen to me, Jerry. I’m a nurse and I’m his wife, and I know best. You can’t walk away from this besides what would happen to your career if this came out.

Okay, but what if I do? If he starts asking me about his life or fine, oh my God, you’re an actor. Just improvise. Improvise. Yeah. Right, right, right. Just make some stuff up, like talk to him. Your, your guys. Do guy talk sports or something? I don’t know.

Hello? This king? Yes, this is she. This is Agent Eli Gran the fbi. I’m investigating the disappearance of Abe Carver. I need you to come down to the police station right away. Oh, I, I can’t, my cat is sick and I can’t leave him. Okay, then I’ll, I’ll come to you. No, no, no, no. That’s not necessary. I’ll just have a neighbor come over.

Mm-hmm. I’ll see you soon.

Look, um, I, I need you to go in there and, and, and just be with him. I, I got some place I gotta go. Hey, look, you’ve spent an hour and I, I won’t take that long. Um, I’ll give you an extra hundred. Look, I, I, I, I need you to stay with him and I gotta go, alright? Okay. Okay. See and cash. Remember, I,

I’m back pops. What were you talking about out there? Where’s, where’s, where’s Paulina? What’s going on here?

Hey. Hey. Hello. Hey. Oh, how’s Shawn? Uh, he’s not doing great. He’s still reeling after everything that happened in Greece. Oh, well that’s understandable. Yeah. On top of that, he’s feeling pretty guilty about not being able to help find Abe. Oh, you know what? Tell him not to worry. Eli’s here. We got it covered, but, uh, is there anything I can do for you?

Uh, actually I’m here to see Jada. I have news about Talia’s case. I will file my recommendation with the court community service, and, uh, probation and continuing to see Dr. Evans.

Thank you so much. I never expected this to happen. If there’s anything I can do, You can keep going to therapy and work on your self-worth. Get to a place where you can feel that you deserve to be treated with kindness and respect so that what happened with you and Colin Bedford will not happen again.

So we were talking about Talia before Theo showed up. Are you thinking of forgiving her hearing Talia talk about Colin. It wasn’t just the things he said or did, it was more about the way he manipulated her. He played on her insecurities, took advantage of the way she felt about him to get her to do things that she didn’t really wanna do.

Emotional abuse, like what Ray did to me, Colin’s father did to me. Yeah, all too similar. So you think Charlie was a victim in all this? She loved Colin and she was afraid that she’d lose him if she didn’t do what he. Told her to do. And as, as much as I hate what she put you through, put us all through, she’s in pain, real pain, and it’s going to take her a long time to get over it.

What, you didn’t answer me, what did you have to talk to her about? Uh, okay. Okay. Uh, Paulina got a call. She, uh, had to run an errand. You still didn’t answer my question. What did you and Paulina have to talk about alone? Um, uh, you want the truth? Um, I asked her if my showing up here. Upset. You see? I mean, I mean, yeah.

It, it, it’s, it’s weird. I don’t know how to talk to you when you don’t, when when? I don’t remember you. Yeah. I’m sorry. It, it is weird. I’m sorry. Hey, it’s, it’s not your fault, so I guess we just gotta try to get to know each other again. It’s okay if I sit. Yeah, of course. Of course. Please do.

So, uh, how about those white socks?

Oh, excuse me, aren’t you Abe Carver son? Theo? Yeah, I am. Do I know you? No, no. I, I was one of your father’s nurses. I, I was there, uh, the day your stepmother was trying to jog his memory. Oh, he’s such a wonderful man. What a terrible thing to happen to him. Yeah, I was. Yeah. So why are you here? Oh, uh, uh, I received a call, uh, from the fbi, uh, agent grant to come down.

Yeah. Um, I’m actually here to see him too. Really? Oh, but you weren’t even here when your father went missing? No, not as a witness. Eli is my sister’s husband and my dad’s son-in-law, my friend. I’m here to help him and we’re not gonna stop until we find my dad.

You seem a little nervous. Yeah. You know, I just don’t know why they called me down here. I mean, I told the police everything I know. So. Ms. King? Yes, that’s right. Yoo. I need to speak to Ms. King. Yeah, that’s okay. I’ll wait this way. Nice to be.

Thank you Ms. King for coming in. You gotta have a seat right here. Okay.

Thank you. You’re welcome. I’ll be with you in just a second.

You know, as, as I was telling, uh, Abe carver’s son outside, I’ve, I’ve already told the police everything.

Now you can tell me everything, you know. I was going over your statement about the day Abe Carver went missing. You were on duty, right? Well, uh, yes. Yes, I was. Uh, but as I told the police, I, I didn’t see anything. Well, you, you couldn’t have, did you, excuse me, because you left work early hours before the end of your shift, and I’d like to know why

you, okay.

Just a little bit overwhelmed. I still can’t believe I’m not going to prison. Seriously. Thank you so much Ms. Brady. No. Well, not always, but sometimes the prosecution and the defense work together to get it right. Um, I just went to the station to tell your sister the good news, but she’d already gone home.

Well, should I call her? I, I think Rafe was going over there to tell her

Jayna open up. I got some good news

after all the terrible things that Colin Bedford did. He still denies taking Abe out of the hospital. Yeah. And the police say they’re sure that he didn’t do it, but we both know that Eli won’t give up until he finds Abe and he makes sure that whoever did take him pays. Um, I, I was sick that day, so I went home early.

Like your cat? Huh? What? When we spoke on the phone, you said that your cat was sick. Oh, right. That’s right. He has ringworm. Aw. What was wrong with you that day? The day that Abe car went missing? I, uh, well, I was feeling like I was getting the flu. I had a slight fever. Uh, and you know, I can’t be around patients.

I. Like that. So, you know, you didn’t mention that in your statement. Oh, well, I, I didn’t think it was important. No, it’s not for you to decide what’s important and what’s not, which is why you’re gonna tell me everything that happened on that day. And this time you’re not gonna leave anything out.

I’m sorry. I’ll be right back.

Kitchen grant.

Eli is my sister’s husband and my dad’s son-in-law, my friend. I’m here to help him and we’re not gonna stop until we find my dad.

God, help me. I don’t have a choice. A carver has to die.

White socks. I, I, I think I’m a cuts fan. No, I’m sorry. I forgot. No, no, no. I’m, I’m, I’m sorry. I, I know this is hard on you. I.

Oh, I’m sorry. I just, all of a sudden I just got a, I just got a headache. I think I, I think I need to rest. Okay. Can I give you a hand? Yeah, I think, uh, I think I’m gonna need it.

You don’t seem very steady. Do you have like a cane or anything to help you out?

So what, what do you mean? I mean, this is a, this is a new suit. Is is my tie too wide? Your clothes are fine dad. The problem is that ugly ass hospital can viewers. Oh yeah. Well, Paulina doesn’t like it either, but what do you want me to do? I’m still unsteady. I mean, the last thing I wanna do is wipe out walking down the aisle of my own wedding.

Well, it’s a good thing your best man’s got you covered. Beer bad.

Something wrong, Paulina.
