Sharon: I brewed this pot especially for you.

Chance: Oh, wow. Thank you. What do I, uh — what do i detect, a hint of?Cardamom, peppercorns, clove, and cinnamon.

Chance: Oh, wow. That’s why it smells so incredible.

Sharon: Well, I was inspired to add a little spice after our first supper club dinner.

Chance: That was fun.

Sharon: Yeah. I even decided to do a little research and take a look at what other types of cuisines we might be tempted by.

Chance: Great minds.

Sharon: Oh. You too?

Chance: Yep, and I got one question for you. How far off the beaten path are you willing to go?

Sharon: That’s a really good question. Hmm. Let me think. I’d be willing to try anything and everything.

Chance: You serious?

Sharon: Yeah, absolutely. Life is short. You got to use all of your taste buds, live on the edge. No more solo dinner ruts.

Chance: Ah, well, alright. Bring on the world, then.

Sharon: Why don’t you try that Moroccan spiced coffee? It was the first time I ever made it, and I’m not sure how it turned out.

Victor: Son, I’d watch your tone if I were you.

Adam: Okay, just spare me your advice.

Victor: It’s telling, though, isn’t it? Although you involve me as a villain in any of your stories, you always come crawling back when you need me, don’t you? And that time will come again soon. I promise you.

Adam: You really are insufferable. You know, with an ego as big as his, I’m shocked that there’s room enough for you at the table or enough oxygen for you to breathe. I’ve had enough.

Nikki: This is just what he does. I mean, he has some kind of turmoil going on in his life, and he tries to whip everybody up into a frenzy. Darling, you just need to find a way to let it roll off your back.

Victor: No, maybe I’ll try something else.

Nikki: Well, what else can you do?

Victor: Give him a wake-up call. He needs to hit rock bottom, experience a massive failure, before he realizes where he belongs. That boy’s getting out of line. And I’ve had it.

Trina argues with Portia because Portia doesn’t want her to be friends with Spencer. Trina tells Portia that she hopes one day she can see that Spencer isn’t like his family. Trina asks Portia to trust her about Spencer but in the end she is going to be friends with Spencer.

Spencer tells Alexis about Esme’s nanny Maggie because he thinks that Esme’s nanny could be the hook killer. Joss gets questioned by Dante and Jordan and after she gets Diane to be with her during questioning she tells Jordan and Dante that she didn’t see the killer because she was wearing a mask. Joss also tells Jordan and Dante that she couldn’t tell if the hook killer was pregnant because she was running for her life. Joss doesn’t tell the police that Dex shot the hook killer in the arm.

Drew tells Michael that Nina is Willow’s mother, and he is about to tell Willow, but she gets upset at the mention of Nina’s name. Carly tells Nina that she is Willow’s mother but Nina doesn’t believe her until she remembers the connection that they have always had even though Willow has always hated her…there were times that they really connected with each other. Nina arrives at the hospital and Willow tells her to leave but Nina says she can’t leave because she is the only person who can help her.

At Society, Adam interrogates Victor about his collusion with Kyle, demanding to know what they were  talking about. Victor lets Adam know that he and Kyle discussed family issues and Adam’s position at Jabot. Adam tells Victor that Kyle can’t be objective about him because he hates that Adam is working there. Adam and Victor start arguing about fatherhood. Victor reminds Adam that he (Victor) had a horrible father, who abandoned his family and left Victor to grow up in an orphanage. Adam tells Victor that he (Victor) uses the image of a family man to justify some abhorrent behavior. Adam calls Victor a hypocrit.

Victor starts talking about Connor and tells Adam that he hopes his own son never treats him the way Victor had been treated by his father. Adam is appalled that Victor would bring Connor into the conversation. Eventually, Victor becomes exasperated and leaves the restaurant.

At Crimson Lights, Billy runs into Lily and Daniel. Lily and Billy keep exchanging sad, despondent looks. Chelsea picks up on Billy and Lily’s vibe, excuses herself and goes through the patio to return to her apartment. After Chelsea is gone, Billy heads to the front door of the coffeehouse, turning around to wish Daniel and Lily a good rest of their night.

Having witnessed what just went on, Daniel is supportive to Lily, telling her that he’s there for her any time and that it’s good to have someone to vent to. Lily is appreciative and tells him that she just wants to sleep for a week but will do with six and-a-half hours.

Adam winds up sitting at the bar in Society and having a drink. Billy walks in and when Adam acknowledges him, Billy tells Adam that he’s not in the mood to get into things with him. He mentions that he doesn’t want the two of them to take shots at each other like they usually do.

However, Adam isn’t having  it. He says that he doesn’t want to engage with Billy, but feels like he has to. He tells Billy that he has more or less insinuated himself into his life and he’s tired of it. Adam admits that Billy got Chelsea through her crisis, but says that now Billy is taking advantage of her. He adds that Billy enjoys that Chelsea is vulnerable and that he gets off on being her savior.

Billy suddenly rises from his seat and gets all up in Adam’s face and repeats his warning for Adam to back off. The men start having a heated argument with loud voices until Abby comes over and tells them to knock it off. She says that they’re scaring her customers and if they want to fight, to do it outside, in the cold. She also tells them to tip their bartender on their way out. Adam says he will go and he leaves.

Adam heads over to Chelsea’s apartment, where she was flashing back with a wide smile to when Billy fell asleep on her couch and she put a blanket on him. When she opens the door, she senses that he is upset and something is bothering him.

He comes inside and claims that he’s just checking on her. When he notices the empty popcorn bowls on the coffee table, he’s aware that she had been watching a movie with Billy Chelsea politely tells Adam that she was about to go to bed when he came over, and that she’s fine, just tired.  Adam leaves and stands outside in the hallway looking pensive, then frustrated.

Abby is in Devon’s penthouse finishing up a salad as they talk about Tucker’s betrayal. Devon receives a text from Tucker, in which Tucker asks Devon for just 10 minutes of his time. Devon replies that Tucker has five minutes. Abby suggests that Devon meet with Tucker because Tucker will never give up reaching out to Devon.  Abby says that Tucker is “obnoxiously persistent.” She tells Devon that meeting with Tucker in person is the only way to be rid of him.

Tucker comes to Devon’s penthouse as Abby is getting ready to leave. She tells Devon to call her later. Tucker delivers a long, heartfelt, sad speech to Devon, letting Devon know that all he really wanted was to work alongside his son. Devon listens as Tucker speaks and Devon  tells Tucker that he keeps reaching out to people he claims to love, in all the wrong ways. Tucker asks what he can do to repair things between him and Devon, but Devon shuts him down and tells him to get out of his house.

The Glam Club, Diane is flirting with Jeremy. He finds it appealing and tells her that he wants to tag along with her when she goes to Chicago and steals a piece of Nikki’s jewelry. Diane says that it’s a one person job and him coming with her would be too risky and put the whole plan into jeopardy. She also tells Jeremy that she doesn’t need him looking over her shoulder. He counters that he might be of help if he knows more about what will go down in Chicago. Diane deflects and ultimately, he  gives in and tells Diane that the robbery is all hers.

Jeremy changes the direction of the conversation, saying that he wants Diane to come up to his suite for a nightcap.  To avoid doing that, she makes up the excuse that she is on a strict timetable and tells Jeremy she will let Jeremy know the second she gets back. Reluctantly, Jeremy relents.

At the Abbott house, Kyle lets Summer know about his meeting with Victor and how Victor wants him to help set Adam up for an epic failure which will result in him getting fired from Jabot. She is appalled by this and by how Kyle tells her that he didn’t agree to help Victor, but he didn’t shut the plan down either. Kyle says that Victor just wants Adam back in the Newman fold, but Summer is critical of the deceit and manipulation Victor has chosen to make this happen. She warns Kyle that getting involved with Victor is a slippery slope.

Diane shows up at the Abbott house after her meeting with Jeremy, which causes Summer to worry that Diane could have been followed. Summer is upset by all the risks Diane is taking and how they will affect her family.

Shortly thereafter, Jack comes home from Chicago with an expensive necklace he stole from Nikki’s jewelry collection. Summer recognizes it as her grandmother’s and remembers that her grandfather gave it to her grandmother.

Jack and Kyle explain to Summer why Jack has Nikki’s necklace and how the theft is part of a plan to help Diane prove her loyalty to Jeremy. Jack tries to assure Summer that the necklace will be returned before Nikki ever finds out it was gone. Summer is outraged and rants about this plan being grand larceny. She lets Jack and Kyle know that she won’t be part of their scheme and that she doesn’t want Kyle involved any further. She runs out of the room in a huff.

Kyle tells Jack and Diane that he will smooth things over with Summer and leaves the room.  Jack then tells Diane that he is impressed by the whole new layer of courage he’s seen in her. She looks into his eyes and they kiss passionately.

Leo advises Gwen to turn on Xander. Gwen doesn’t want to turn on him. He advised her to look out for herself. Will walked in while Leo was on the phone. Will knew that he honor that belief. Leo got off the phone with Gwen so he could talk to Will. Will didn’t have time for him and wanted to go to the hospital. Leo went to see Gwen at the Horton house. They argued about her turning on Xander. Gwen refused to turn on him. Leo told her that Jack would turn his back on her if he finds out what she did. He told her to meet with a lawyer to find out her options. Will and Allie met at the hospital. They talked about Sami trying her best to make it home in time to see Marlena. They didn’t think her chances were good. Marlena’s visitors were restricted so they had to wait to see her. Allie wondered where Sonny was. Will didn’t know since he wasn’t home. He said Leo was there. He told her what happened with Leo and Sonny. He didn’t think Leo deserved Sonny’s forgiveness. Julie arrived at the hospital and cried over Marlena’s situation. She offered her condolences to Will and Allie. Julie thought she brought her rosary to the hospital, but she forgot them. Will offered to get them for her. Leo, Gwen and Sloan talked about Xander’s case. Leo was willing to say that he dressed as a clown on his own. He wasn’t going to mention Gwen being involved. He wanted to testify anonymously because he didn’t want Sonny to find out. He said Sonny was his friend and he believed in him when no one else would. Will hid and listened to them talking.

Chad told Sonny that Stephanie felt bad for turning off her phone. Sonny told Chad that Alex was the one who turned her phone off so he couldn’t interrupt them. Sonny defended Alex’s actions when Chad got upset. He told him that Alex didn’t know he was calling about Kayla. Chad didn’t care because it wasn’t Alex’s place to turn off her phone. Sonny said that Alex was a good person and wanted to make up for what happened. Chad said he couldn’t make up for what he did. He said Sonny should stop trying to see the best in everyone. He brought up his friendship with Leo. He told him that he will let him down. He didn’t think Stephanie would forgive Alex. Stephanie wanted to know if Alex was the one who turned off her phone. He admitted that he did it. He apologized to her and wanted to explain. Stephanie was upset by what he did. She told him that his actions kept her from saying goodbye to her mother. She would never be able to forgive him for that. He said he would do anything to go back and change what he did. She said that he couldn’t do it. She said her mother was gone just like her feelings for him. He would spend the rest of his life making it up to her. She said that he couldn’t do it. She wanted him to leave.

Lucas hid his bottle of alcohol from Rex. Lucas and Rex hugged each other. The guard told Lucas he was on thin ice after what happened with Orpheus. Lucas told Rolf what happened with Orpheus. He told Rex that Orpheus gave him the alcohol. Lucas said he would try to stay strong. Rex told him to do it for their mother. He told Lucas to give him the bottle. Lucas gave it to him. He thanked Rex for saving his life. Rex told him that he got in touch with Austin and Cassie. He said Austin was going to get in touch with Billie. Lucas said there was one more person to tell. He said they had to tell Phillip. Rex said Phillip was presumed dead. Lucas said Kate put Phillip in a mental institution. Rex warned the guard no to let Lucas drink or he would have him fired. Chad went to see Stephanie. He told her he knew what it was like to lose someone you love. He asked what he could do to help. She said she appreciated it, but her father was taking care of everything. Chad gave her a card from Thomas and Charlotte. The card said the kids were missing their mother. They hugged each other. She apologized to him. He said he wanted to be there for her.

Chad told Stephanie how much he and Abby loved Kayla. Stephanie said the hardest part was not getting to say goodbye to her. She said she couldn’t believe she missed his calls and messages. She said she didn’t remember turning off the phone. She said she rarely does it. She said she wished she could go back in time so she could get the messages so she could tell her mother how great she was. She broke down in his arms. He told her to call him whenever she needed to. Alex and Sonny talked about Kayla. Sonny told him Will was on his home. Sonny said he hoped Will got home in time to say goodbye to Marlena. He asked if Stephanie got a chance to say goodbye to Kayla. Alex told him she didn’t because he turned her phone off. He told Sonny that Chad was in the way. He said he thought it was another harmless call. He said he couldn’t fix it. Sonny told him to tell the truth. Alex said he couldn’t do that because she would hate him. He said it wouldn’t change anything. Sonny said it would change how they went forward. He asked if Alex could live with lying to her. He asked what would happen if she figured it out. Alex went to see Stephanie. She asked him if he turned off her phone.

Stefan told Gabi that Johnny and Wendy found Rolf and told them about the brainwashing. Gabi couldn’t believe that Wendy betrayed her. She was happy that Stefan knew the truth. She thought the truth would change everything. He gently let her know that it didn’t change anything. He felt bad about the way he treated her. He knew she still loved him, but he didn’t love her. She blamed Rolf for that, but he let her know that his feelings for Kate were real. He knew he used to love her, but he didn’t feel anything for her now. She wondered if he really wanted to be with Chloe. She knew he was forced to love her. Wendy showed up at the house to speak for Li. She apologized for what happened. She hoped that she could forgive Li. Gabi told her that she hated Li for what he did to her and Stefan. She closed the door in Wendy’s face. Gabi went back to Stefan. He let her know that they weren’t getting back together. She thought Rolf could fix things for him. She wanted him to be able to have his free will. Kristen let EJ know that she needed a place to stay. He rejected her because he knew what she did. She knew he would have done the same thing to get the woman he loved back in his life. They went back and forth until she warned him that she would tell Stefan that he knew about the brainwashing. She told him that he would lose his power at DiMera Enterprises.

Rafe showed up at the DiMera mansion looking for answers from EJ and Kristen about the orchid. EJ was adamant that he didn’t know where it was. Kristen tried to be sympathetic towards Marlena. Rafe let her know that Rolf was going to be brought back to Salem. He was bringing forensics to check the room where she kept the orchid. He also wanted the security tapes. EJ was willing to do whatever it took to keep Johnny from losing his grandmother. Rafe warned Kristen that he planned on getting Rolf to turn on her as well as anyone else who was involved with him. He wished them luck before he left the mansion. The forensics team started looking through the mansion. EJ allowed Kristen to stay at the mansion. He warned her that they better find the orchid. Stefan and Gabi went to the station to ask Rafe about Rolf. He said that Rolf disappeared without a trace. Brady told Chloe why he broke up with her. She was shocked, but she wished she knew before she slept with Stefan. Brady was hurt by her admission, but he knew he was responsible for it. She said she couldn’t go back to him as if nothing happened. He understood and told her that he would wait for her. Nicole ran into Eric at the town square. She wanted to offer her condolences to him, but he wanted to walk away. She forced him to talk. He told her about Kristen and how he kidnapped Rachel. Nicole was upset to find out that Rachel was with Sloan. Eric thought she was being jealous. She defended herself and wondered what type of man he’s become. They ended up arguing and he blamed her for Jada aborting his child. Nicole got upset and walked off to pray for Marlena and for him.

At the Robinson residence, Trina revealed that she had been in touch with Spencer. Portia lectured Trina about remaining in contact with Spencer. Trina recalled how helpless Esme had seemed when she had approached Trina and Spencer on the Haunted Star on NYE, and she admitted that she did have sympathy for Esme. Trina wondered aloud if it were possible that her amnesia had changed Esme.

Trina said she was ready to move on with her life. Portia asked how letting Spencer back into Trina’s life would help. Trina said that Spencer had been there for her like no one else since Rory’s death. Portia then began blasting the entire Cassadine family. She claimed that she had tried to keep an open mind about Nikolas, but then immediately started picking apart Nikolas and Victor in particular. Portia very condescendingly added that Spencer was a convicted felon.

Trina said that one day she hoped they could see eye to eye on Spencer but she added that this was not a necessity because Spencer was her friend and she called the shots in her life.  She made it clear she was disgusted with Portia’s actions and words and retired for the night to her bedroom.

Curtis entered the room carrying both he and Portia a glass of wine. Portia asked if he had overheard her conversation with Trina.  Curtis said that he had heard most of it. Portia vowed that Spencer wouldn’t become a habit. “Not if I have anything to say,” Portia said.

At Sonny’s penthouse, Alexis visited Spencer.  She and Spencer discussed Esme’s claim to have memory loss, and he was still heartbroken at the loss of Britt. Alexis said that whatever Spencer decided about the baby it was imperative that he not hold an innocent child to blame for their family problems. Spencer said he would never hold a grudge against an innocent baby, but he was concerned that Esme might take the baby far away from Port Charles. Alexis nixed that idea, when she told Nikolas that his father was resigned to have total custody of the child.  When she told Spencer about the conversation she had with Nikolas about custody of the baby and how Nikolas didn’t want Esme anywhere near his child because she was unstable.  Spencer paused and said, “pot meet kettle.”  Alexis agreed and told him she had reiterated that point to Nikolas as well.

Alexis wanted Spencer to tell her about anyone that might have been loyal enough (other than the psychopath Ryan Chamberlain) to Esme to kill those people she regarded as threats to Esme and her child. Spencer recalled that Sam had looked into Maggie, Esme’s nanny, whose last whereabouts had been in London. Spencer told Alexis that Maggie had warned Esme in a letter not to have anything to do with her birth father. Alexis thanked Spencer for the scoop.

At the Port Charles Police Station, Jordan asked Dante for a lead on the hook killer. Soon afterward, Josslyn appeared. Dante, Jordan, and Robert started to formally question Josslyn about her encounter with the hook attacker. Dante showed Josslyn a grainy photo that he said had been taken 15 minutes before Britt had called in the attack on New Year’s Eve. Jordan asked if it was Josslyn’s life that Britt had saved. Before Josslyn could say anything, Diane arrived and ended the interview by looking at Josslyn and saying, “not another word.”

Diane, Robert, and Jordan were pushed out of the interrogation room so that Diane could confer with Josslyn. Diane soon reappeared and said Josslyn was prepared to give a statement. In the statement, Josslyn admitted that she had been on the pier during the night of the attack and that someone had attacked her with a knife. Josslyn claimed that during the night of the attack, she hadn’t seen anything that could help the police. Dante asked if the attacker had looked pregnant, and Josslyn said she couldn’t recall.  Josslyn said there was no need for this interrogation style meeting, she told Dante if she could have helped the police in any way she would have come to Dante on her own.  Dante agreed.

Dante asked Diane for permission to speak to Josslyn alone, and Diane asked Josslyn sho said that it would be fine. Alone in the interrogation room, Josslyn self-righteously claimed that Dante had “ambushed” her, and she gloated that she had “learned from the best” to not talk to the police. “Yeah, you did,” Dante said. So, what was the family emergency?” Dante asked Josslyn.

At the hospital, Drew told Michael that Nina was Willow’s birth mother. Michael was livid and his face did not hide his disgust and exasperation. Drew tried to console Michael and to remind Michael that the important thing now was to get Nina tested for the bone marrow donor registry.  Michael begrudgingly agreed and returned to Willow’s room.

In the hospital chapel, Carly said that Nina might be the only person who could help Willow. “Nelle isn’t your only daughter. Willow is, too,” Carly told a confused Nina. Nina became her typical self-righteous self and demanded answers from Carly, who explained that years earlier, Nina had given birth to twin daughters under medical supervision. “So, if Willow was Nelle’s twin, you’re saying that Madeline handed Willow off to…” Nina said. “Harmony. Your mother gave the baby to Harmony,” Carly answered without any doubt in her mind.

Carly admitted that Harmony had suspected that Nina was Willow’s mother on the night that Harmony had died. Carly later added that she knew for a fact that Nina was Willow’s biological mother, and she admitted that she had proof. Carly admitted that she had run a DNA test on both Nina and Willow and that the results were conclusive. This made Nina angrier as she accused Carly of stealing her DNA and then conducting an unauthorized DNA test without her knowledge or consent.  Carly said that none of this mattered because what was done was done; and that Nina and Willow were mother and daughter.

Nina remained skeptical that Carly was telling the truth, but Carly pleaded with her that now was not the time for doubts. Nina needed to be tested. Nina flashed back to a series of conversations and run-ins with Willow through the years. Carly continued to plead with Nina, who grew visibly angry. Nina rushed to the door of the chapel, but she turned to look at Carly again. “You made me feel like the scum of the earth for a year. You kept saying over and over how I was wrecking your family. What about my family? How could you keep me away from my child?” Nina said as her voice started to give out.

Carly said that Nina could lash out at her after Nina had been tested. “Don’t tell me what to do, Carly! Go to hell… you selfish bitch! I’m gonna go save my daughter,” Nina yelled. Slamming the chapel door.  Carly looked absolutely wrecked.

Sonny sat with Willow in Willow’s room. Sonny told an unconscious Willow that she was tough and that Michael would get her the best of care. Sonny said he wished he could take care of both Willow and Michael.

Sonny continued to praise Willow, and he thanked her for having never lost hope in repairing his relationship with Michael. Just then, Michael entered the room.  Sonny explained to Michael that Josslyn had to leave and that she had asked Sonny to stay in the room with Willow so that she would not be alone. Michael said he appreciated Sonny having stayed with Willow. Sonny left to give Michael and Willow space. Alone with Willow, Michael whispered that he needed Willow, and he pressed his face against her hand. Willow awoke, and she asked what had happened. Michael recalled that Willow had passed out and had been brought by ambulance to GH.

Willow recalled that Nina had been in the gatehouse with Wiley. Michael confirmed that Wiley had seen Willow pass out, and he said they would explain everything to Wiley. Willow surmised that there was something Michael wasn’t telling her, and she asked what was wrong. Michael said that what he had to say was about Nina. Willow coldly remarked that she never wanted to hear Nina’s name again.

Just then, Nina entered the room. Willow demanded that Nina leave. “I’m sorry, but your life may depend on me,” Nina said still reeling from the news herself.

Outside Willow’s room, Sonny chatted with Drew. Sonny was surprised that Drew hadn’t known about Willow’s diagnosis until recently. “Can I ask you a question? Carly’s in the chapel right now with Nina instead of Michael and Willow. Do you know anything about that?” Sonny asked Drew.

Drew remained tight-lipped, and he said that it wasn’t his place to share why Carly had wanted to speak to Nina. Sonny “suggested” that Drew tell him the truth. After leaving the chapel, Carly appeared. Carly told Sonny to “back off.”

“What’s going on, Carly?” Sonny asked directly.

At Society, Nick is very surprised when Sally tells him that she will pass on drinking alcohol during their dinner. When he asks her about it, she comes up with the excuse that she wants to get a good night’s sleep and wake up refreshed for her meeting with Jill tomorrow.

As Nick and Sally are talking, Adam walks in and goes to the bar. When Nick notices him, he suggests to Sally that they leave Society and have dinner elsewhere. Sally says that she is okay with Adam being at Society while she and Nick are having dinner there as long as everyone “behaves””.

Since Nick knows Jill quite well, Sally asks him for tips on how to impress Jill. Nick tells her that Sally has already made a good impression on Jill or Jill would not have expressed interest in what Sally has to offer.

Nick also  gives Sally some do’s and don’ts regarding Jill.He says don’t BS her because she’ll see through it,  don’t try and fake expertise so if you don’t know something or get stumped, tell her this, and immediately follow up by mentioning that you know how to find the answer. Among the things Nick tells her to do are be straightforward since Jill is this way, be confident, but not too confident, and just be real. Nick is optimistic about Sally’s impending meeting with Jill.

Sally changes her mind about eating dinner at Society and starts coming onto Nick, telling him that she wants to be alone with him. Once they arrive in her suite, she starts getting Nick undressed, and tells him that she is going to take off his clothing piece by piece. She starts doing that and is hugging him and letting him kiss her on her neck, when over his shoulder she spots the bottle of prenatal vitamins that Chloe left on the coffee table.

Thinking fast, Sally persuades Nick to take a shower with her and has him go turn on the water. She says she’ll join him in a minute, thereby giving herself the opportunity to hide the prenatal vitamin bottle. So, her secret is safe for now.

Tucker arrives at Audra’s suite and goes off on her for messing up his life in Genoa City and blowing things up for him and Devon. He tells her that she was “messy and careless.”  Audra defends herself by telling him that she did her job for him “to a tee”. She talks about how Devon wasn’t suspicious of her until he realized that she and Tucker had the same phone text alert. She also tells calls Tucker an “attention-seeking narcissist”.

While Tucker is in Audra’s suite, Nate shows up and asks if there’s a problem there. Tucker tells him he was just leaving.  After he’s gone, Audra tells Nate that she’s sorry he had to see any of that.  Nate tells her that she didn’t ever mention to him that she knows Tucker.

Nate asks Audra when exactly did she and Tucker forged their alliance. She answers that she and Tucker go back aways. She says that she worked for one of his companies in London and he paid off her business school loans.  She adds that she is beholden to Tucker ever since then. She also mentions that she and Tucker shared both a business and a personal connection.

She also lets Nate know that Devon figured out she was a trojan horse for Tucker in Chancellor-Winters. She was supposed to help him take over the company when it went public, but their plan failed. She lets Nate know that this is why she no longer works for the company. She adds that Devon let her resign quietly, so as not to cause any public embarassment to the company.

Nate reminds her that she had told him she was done with her assignment at Chancellor-Winters and ready to move on. Audra refers to it as a lie of omission.  She also lets Nate know that she would understand if he wants to rescind his offer of employment at Newman Media.  On the contrary, Nate tells her that his offer for her to be his COO still stands. He tells her that he is in agreement with what she said about how “you play to win when you’ve already lost.”

At Crimson Lights, Kyle and Diane are talking and checking their phones to see if they received any hear updates from Jack. He is heading to Chicago to do his part in enabling Diane to pass Jeremy’s loyalty test. Kyle observes that Diane seems to be getting a kick out of the situation, but she assures him that this is not the case and those days are behind her. She also mentions that she wants to be rid of Jeremy for good but in order to keep up the ruse, she has to go to the Glam Club for drinks with him.

After Diane leaves, Tucker comes into the coffeehouse and Kyle needles him about how his plans went astray. Tucker says that he’s not ready to give up on Ashley, which prompts Kyle to let him know that he better hurry because she is leaving for Paris tonight.

Tucker high tails it over to the Abbott house, where he begs Ashley to hear him out. She agrees to listen to what he has to say but tells him to make it quick because she has a plane to catch.  Even with Tucker’s heartfelt apology to her and his urgent plea for her to stay in Genoa City, Ashley wants nothing further to do with him.

She does admit that she was starting to feel something for him again, but no longer wants to pursue it. Angrily yanking his scarf off, she tells him there’s no chance in hell that she would get back together with him. She brings up how he was a “crappy partner” when they had been together in the past, and tells him that he hasn’t changed.

Over at Society, Kyle comes in, spots Adam alone at the bar and belittles him by mentioning that Sally chose the “superior brother.” Victor shows up for a meeting with Kyle. Adam is suspicious, but Victor mentions that he wants to keep up on how things are with Kyle’s family, which includes his granddaughter and great-grandson.

Victor and Kyle go over to a table to speak privately. Kyle guesses that Victor is there to discuss his mother. However, Victor brushes this aside and brings up Adam working as co-CEO at Jabot.

Diane arrives at the Glam Club and joins Jeremy for drinks. He presses her for specifics about the crime she is going to commit in light of the looming deadline. Diane claims that she is headed out to Chicago to steal an exquisite, expensive, one-of-kind piece of jewelry and informs him that the jewelry is Nikki Newman’s. Jeremy questions how she will be able to pull the theft off, and she convinces him that she’s still quite the insider and can get away with it.

Phyllis is about to enter the Glam Club when she spots Diane and Jeremy together. She stays back and doesn’t go in, so she can spy on them and take a picture of them on her phone.

Later on, Phyllis meets up with Nikki at Crimson Lights. Nikki presumes it’s about Diane and says she’s really not interested in hearing anything more about her. Phyllis continues, however, and lets her know that not only is Diane back in town, but she was at the Glam Club with Jeremy. She adds that Diane did not look the least bit scared to be around him. Phyllis also mentions that Ashley is going out of town for a few weeks and asks Nikki how the two of them are going to get rid of Diane.

Back at Society, Victor and Kyle continue speaking about Adam’s role at the Abbott family company and how neither of them wants him working there. So, Victor suggests to Kyle “why don’t we remedy that?”

Leo is on the phone with Gwen, hoping that she has come to her senses. Gwen responds that her answer is still no as she will not betray Xander and help send him to prison. Leo knows how much Gwen cares about Xander but suggests she always look out for number one. Will then enters the Kiriakis Mansion and remarks that Leo sure as hell abides by that.

Allie and Chanel talk about Allie’s son Henry being wound up. Chanel feels that Henry senses that Allie is wound up. Chanel says she’s sorry for everything Allie is going through. Allie talks about going through old pictures and she can’t believe Kate and Kayla are gone. Allie cries that she can’t lose Marlena too. Chanel hugs her and says she wishes she could take her pain away. Allie assures that she’s just grateful to have Chanel by her side.

Sonny tells Chad that Stephanie shouldn’t blame herself for not being there for Kayla since it wasn’t her fault. Chad says he tried to tell her that but she won’t stop beating herself up for turning off her phone. Sonny then reveals to Chad that Stephanie didn’t turn off her phone. Chad asks what he means. Sonny informs Chad that Stephanie wasn’t the one who turned off her phone.

Stephanie asks Alex to tell her the truth as she asks if he’s the reason that she didn’t get to say goodbye to her mother.

Leo hangs up with Gwen and greets Will. Leo thought Will returned to LA while Will thought Sonny would’ve seen through Leo’s act by now. Leo hopes he’s not upset that Sonny let him crash her a while longer. Will says he can’t stand the sight of Leo and thinks Sonny is being incredibly naïve by giving him the benefit of the doubt. Leo argues that Sonny is just helping a friend in need. Will says that he knows Sonny is a good guy which makes him an easy target for guys like Leo, who always look out for number one. Leo claims he was just finishing up a job interview on the phone. Will asks if he really expects him to believe that. Will decides he doesn’t have time for this as he just came by to drop off his luggage. Will tells Leo that if he sees Sonny, to tell him that he’s at the hospital visiting his grandma.

Chanel encourages Allie not to give up hope as Marlena is strong, brave, and battled Satan twice. Allie argues that Kate and Kayla were strong and brave too but now they’re gone. Allie declares that she has to get to the hospital to see Marlena. Chanel wishes she could go with her but says she will stay with Henry. Allie thanks her and says she loves her. Allie kisses Chanel and tells her that she will call if there’s any change as Allie then exits. After Allie leaves, Sloan shows up at the door.

Chad doesn’t get how Sonny can be so sure that Stephanie didn’t turn off her own phone. Sonny tells Chad to just trust him on this. Chad argues that they are best friends and questions what he’s not telling him. Sonny then reveals that he’s sure Stephanie didn’t turn off her phone, because Alex did.

Stephanie tells Alex that Chad called her multiple times and left messages about her mom being gravely ill that she didn’t get and she doesn’t remember turning her phone off, so the only possible explanation is that Alex did. Stephanie asks Alex again if he turned her phone off on the night that her mother died. Alex then admits that he did.

Will joins Allie at the hospital. Allie hugs him and says she’s so happy that he’s there. Will says his plane landed an hour ago. Allie mentions that Sami said she’s doing everything she can to get here. Will asks if there’s any update on Marlena. Allie says the doctors are doing everything they can but it’s not looking good. Will wants to see her. Allie says she does too but John and Eric are in with her now and they are restricting her visitors, so they will have to wait and pray. Allie repeats that she’s really glad Will is there so they can wait and pray together as they hug.

Leo goes to see Gwen and apologizes for hanging up so abruptly since Will showed up for a surprise visit. Gwen asks if Will overheard their conversation. Leo says he only heard him say that his motto is to look after number one but he covered his tracks. Leo assures there’s no way that Will is going to find out he had anything to do with Xander’s cover up. Leo knows that if he did, he would go running to Sonny so fast that he’d lose his only other friend.

Chad doesn’t get why Alex would turn off Stephanie’s phone. Sonny guesses that Alex didn’t want to be interrupted. Chad questions Alex admitting to Sonny that he turned Stephanie’s phone off because he didn’t want someone interrupting their alone time. Sonny explains that Alex specifically didn’t want Chad interrupting them.

Stephanie orders Alex to explain himself fast. Alex says it happened when she went to the bathroom to change as her phone started ringing and it was Chad calling again. Stephanie questions Alex deciding to turn her phone off. Alex argues that he didn’t know why Chad was calling. Stephanie asks why it matters and says it’s none of his business. Alex says he knows and that’s why he is so sorry. Stephanie tells him that sorry doesn’t cut it. Stephanie questions Alex policing her phone calls. Alex tells her that he only did it because they had wanted to be alone for a long time and then Chad starts calling, so he figured it was work again or the kids and he had just interrupted them at Christmas. Alex assumed incorrectly that the phone call could wait this time. Stephanie argues that it wasn’t his decision to make and now she didn’t find out her mom was dying until it was too late to say goodbye to her. Stephanie declares that Alex robbed her of that and she will never forgive him for it.

Chanel tells Sloan that it’s a bad time as she’s dealing with a family crisis. Sloan compares it to the crisis she put her family through when she killed her mother and seduced her father. Chanel argues that her mother’s death was an accident and she feels horrible for everything that happened to them. Chanel reminds her that the courts in the UK declined to press charges and suggests they both get on with their lives. Sloan questions it being that easy for her. Sloan declares that Chanel’s life is over because she made a promise to make her pay for what she did to her family, so she’s going to do exactly that.

Allie asks Will about his flight. Will admits it was terrible as he couldn’t sleep or eat while worrying he wouldn’t get there in time. Allie is glad he did since Marlena is hanging on. Allie asks where Sonny is. Will says he doesn’t know since he wasn’t home, but unfortunately Leo was there to greet him.

Leo wants to continue he and Gwen’s conversation. Gwen repeats that she won’t turn Xander in. Leo argues that the cops already know Gwen helped him by creating the website for the fake company. Gwen argues there’s no proof linking her to any crimes. Leo worries that they won’t stop digging until they find something that leads to him. Gwen realizes that Leo isn’t worried about her and is just worried about himself. Leo argues that Xander kidnapped the two women, not them. Gwen argues that the police don’t know that while Leo brings up that they already have evidence of the muscle bound bodysuit that fits him perfectly. Gwen says she’s sorry but she can’t turn her back on Xander. Leo asks if she’s prepared for her father to turn his back on her then. Gwen argues that it won’t happen but Leo insists that when Jack finds out that Gwen helped Xander, he will disown her. Leo reminds Gwen that she’s worked so hard to regain Jack’s trust, but all that goes away if Jack and Jennifer find out that she was Xander’s accomplice. Leo urges Gwen to at least agree to meet with a lawyer to figure out their options. Gwen reluctantly agrees and asks if he has anyone in mind. Leo responds that he does.

Sloan hands Chanel an envelope and says she wanted to deliver this to see the look on her face. Chanel opens it and sees that Sloan is suing her for wrongful death. Sloan adds that Paulina is a co-defendant for her role in covering up her mother’s death. Chanel calls her mother’s death an accident but Sloan says she’s tired of hearing her say that and calls it a lie. Sloan complains about Chanel making it sound like she’s the victim. Sloan warns that she can still make them pay and when she’s done in civil court, the only thing left of Paulina’s fortune will be the crumbs of Chanel’s bakery. Sloan then storms out of the apartment.

Chad questions Alex turning Stephanie’s phone off because he was afraid of him interrupting their romantic evening together. Sonny admits it was a very selfish thing to do but notes that Alex had no idea Chad was calling about Kayla. Chad complains that Alex can’t handle his friendship with Stephanie so now she didn’t get to say goodbye to her mother. Sonny points out that Alex feels terrible about it. Chad argues that he should because Stephanie is agony over the fact that she could’ve been there but she wasn’t because Alex was afraid of him interrupting his latest conquest. Sonny argues that Alex didn’t know what Chad was calling about. Chad shouts that he doesn’t care as it wasn’t his place to turn off her phone and now he has to go break her heart. Sonny stops Chad and reveals that Alex is already telling Stephanie himself.

Alex tells Stephanie that if he had any idea why Chad was calling. Stephanie argues that it doesn’t matter as he had no right to turn off her phone. Alex says he knows that and he just wanted to be alone with her. Stephanie responds that Alex got his wish, so instead of being with her mother while she was dying, they were having sex. Stephanie asks if Alex has any idea how disgusted that makes her feel. Alex responds that he does and he gets why it would and that’s why he would do anything to go back in time and change what he did. Stephanie argues that he can’t and now her mother is gone and so are any feelings that she had for him. Stephanie declares that she never wants to see Alex again and opens the door for him to leave.

Will tells Allie about Leo living under the same roof as Sonny and how it’s driving him crazy. Will argues that people like Leo don’t change, they just figure out ways to get more devious to prey on their victims. Allie agrees and is surprised Sonny would give Leo another chance. Will says that’s what Sonny prides himself on. Allie guesses they have to admire that. Will says he would if the person in question was worthy of second chances, but insists that there is no good in Leo and he doesn’t deserve Sonny’s forgiveness or friendship.

Chad guesses Sonny had to convince Alex to come clean. Sonny admits he strongly suggested it but Alex agreed. Sonny insists that Alex is not a bad guy and wants to make amends. Chad argues that Alex should’ve grown a conscience instead of turning her phone off before robbing her of the chance to say goodbye to her dying mother.

Stephanie questions why Alex is still there since she said she never wants to see him again. Alex argues that she doesn’t mean that. Stephanie tells him not to tell her what she means. Stephanie complains that Alex only hears what he wants to. Alex cries that he was coming here to admit he made a mistake. Stephanie mocks the idea of it being an innocent mistake when he purposely turned off her phone because he’s jealous of her friendship with Chad. Stephanie cries that his pathetic insecurities are the reason why she couldn’t be with her mother when she needed her the most. Stephanie adds that the worst part is if she hadn’t figured it out, he was never going to tell her.

Leo calls Sloan over to the Horton House to meet he and Gwen. Sloan says she almost didn’t show up since Leo doesn’t pay his legal bills on time. Leo argues that she got her money and reminds her that she got to steal back her file on Paulina and Chanel because of him. Sloan thanks him for being careless enough to not catch her. Sloan still doesn’t understand why Gwen wouldn’t publish her story about Paulina and Chanel. Gwen says she had her reasons. Sloan tells her that she missed out on the scoop of the decade. Gwen argues that any charges are not being pursued so her scoop is nothing. Sloan tells her that she’s wrong and says just because they skirted justice, doesn’t make them innocent. Sloan then asks Leo why she is here. Leo says they need legal advice. Gwen adds that they need to make sure the conversation is strictly confidential. Sloan laughs at Gwen sweeping another crime under the rug. Gwen asks if they have attorney-client privilege or not. Sloan says that will require a retainer so Leo tells Gwen to pay her.

Paulina goes to see Chanel at her apartment. Paulina says she rushed right over after getting her message and asks what’s wrong. Paulina talks about praying for Marlena and asks what is the matter. Chanel informs her that Sloan was just there. Paulina asks what the hell she wants. Chanel reveals that Sloan is suing them both.

Sloan goes over that Xander kidnapped Susan and Gwen helped cover it up, then roped Leo in, and now Leo is worried that it’s only a matter of time before he’s implicated as well. Gwen asks what their options are. Sloan goes over the crimes and laughs at the thought of them having options. Sloan declares that they are pretty much screwed.

Julie goes to the hospital and hugs Allie and Will. Julie asks about Marlena’s condition. Will informs her that she’s still in the ICU but it’s not looking great. Julie cries that she’s so sorry. Julie mentions bringing sandwiches since Eric is leading prayer in the chapel for family and friends. Julie then realizes she forgot her rosary.

Sonny tells Chad that he’s not proud of what his brother did. Chad accuses Sonny of making excuses for Alex. Sonny says Alex might be arrogant and full of himself, but he’s got a really good heart and will do whatever it takes. Chad questions how to make it up to someone when you kept them from saying goodbye to their mother. Chad shouts that you can’t make that up. Sonny reluctantly agrees. Chad adds that even if Alex was stupid enough to try, he doubts he will ever get the chance.

Alex knows Stephanie has no reason to trust him right now, but he came here to tell her the truth himself, because he is riddled with guilt and regret. Stephanie asks if he wants her to feel sorry for him. Alex says he’s just doing his best to be honest. Alex insists that he came on his own to tell her the truth and that he’s sorry for what he did and about her mom. Alex adds that if she doesn’t believe him, she can ask Sonny. Stephanie declares that she knows all she’ll ever need to know about the kind of man he is. Alex knows she is upset, hurt and grieving. Alex begs her not to throw away what they have. Stephanie says she didn’t throw it away, he did when he invaded her privacy, disrespected her and lied to her. Alex says he will always regret that as he wanted them to have a romantic night together but he made this thoughtless mistake. Alex swears that he’s learned from it and it will never happen again. Stephanie questions that making her feel better and argues that she’ll never have another chance to say goodbye to her mother. Stephanie asks if he doesn’t get that. Alex responds that he does, but he knows they could get past this if she allows him to make this up to her. Stephanie repeats that there is nothing he could do as every time she looks at him, all she sees is her mother lying in the hospital, cold and dead.

Chad tells Sonny that his problem is he spends too much time seeing the best in people. Sonny questions that being a bad trait. Chad argues that there has to be exceptions as some people are irredeemable. Sonny disagrees and asks if it’s more honorable to think everyone is dishonest and cruel. Chad thinks it’s more self-protective to distrust everyone. Chad brings up Leo and insists that he’s going to cause Sonny problems and let him down because that is who he is and what he does.

Leo tells Sloan that there has to be something she can do since this is small compared to getting him off from murder. Sloan argues that was a murder he didn’t commit so it’s very different since they actually did help Xander in these crimes. Leo insists that if anyone can get them off, it’s her. Leo praises Sloan as a lawyer. Sloan calls it a pipe dream to get them out of this unscathed. Sloan offers to cut a deal where they will testify about Xander in court. Leo tells Gwen that he told her they should flip on him. Leo explains to Sloan that Gwen doesn’t want to turn on Xander because she’s in love with him. Gwen insists that they are just friends but she is not selling Xander out no matter what. Gwen decides if there is nothing more, she’s leaving and they can see themselves out. Gwen then exits. Sloan remarks that she can’t make them take the plea deal so she’s out too. Leo stops her and says he has a proposition for her.

Julie tells Allie and Will that she was rushing to get there that she forgot to pack the rosary. Will offers to go get it but Julie says he needs to be there for Marlena. Allie points out that they are restricting Marlena’s visitors right now anyway. Will insists that he will go get the rosary and be back soon. Julie thanks him as he exits. Julie knows how much Allie loves Marlena and how hard this is for her, but encourages that she’s strong just like Marlena and Sami, so she will get through this. Allie responds that she has to be strong for her son, Henry. Julie says their children and all the people they love need them as they hug. Allie has one of Julie’s sandwiches which she says hit the spot. Julie guesses that’s the first time she ate today and advises her to take care of herself. Julie asks how things are going with Allie and Chanel. Allie says Chanel has been amazing through all of this and been her rock even while dealing with her own family drama. Julie thought things were better for Chanel and Paulina after the murder charges were dropped. Allie says they have been, but she’s worried that Sloan is going to continue to cause trouble because she is determined to get revenge.

Paulina complains about Sloan not knowing when to quit. Chanel worries that this is bad and Sloan isn’t going to stop until they have nothing left. Paulina assures it’s not the end of the world. Chanel thought she’d be more upset about the lawsuit. Paulina says with as much money as she has, lawsuits come with the territory. Paulina insists that her attorneys will make mince meat out of Sloan.

Sloan questions Leo having another proposition. Leo asks what if they leave Gwen out of the plea deal and he can testify against Xander alone, saying he hired him to wear the clown suit, not Gwen. Sloan calls that a lie but says she doesn’t have a problem with that. Leo says the only problem is that he needs to testify anonymously. Sloan says she’s sure Gwen will still find out. Leo says he’s not worried about that as they always go back and forth but at least they would be free. Sloan questions why be anonymous if he’s not worried about Gwen finding out. Leo responds that it’s because of Sonny. Sloan questions what he has to do with this. Leo states that Sonny is his friend who believed in him when no one else would. Will appears in the house as Leo tells Sloan that he can’t have Sonny finding out that he’s involved in something like this.

Sonny asks if Chad sees him as a pathetic tool stumbling around to be taken advantage of. Chad says he just meant that he’s too trusting. Sonny says he chooses to give people like Leo and Alex the benefit of the doubt because they could all use a little redemption from time to time. Chad says they do once in awhile, but in this case, Alex deprived Stephanie of her last goodbye to her mother, so he doubts Stephanie will be as forgiving as Sonny is.

Alex apologizes to Stephanie for robbing her of her last moments with her mom and says he will spend the rest of his life trying to make up for it if she lets him. Stephanie says he can spend eternity trying to make it up to her but nothing he ever says or does will give her back what he took from her. Alex pleads with her but Stephanie declares that she’s done and wants him to leave. Alex tries to argue but Stephanie tells him to respect her wishes and go. Alex then exits as Stephanie breaks down crying.

Sally decides that she, and Nick should go back to her hotel room when Adam arrives at Society. Sally and Nick go back to Sally’s hotel room and they start to have sex until Sally notices the bottle of prenatal vitamins on her bedside table. Sally tells Nick to get in the shower and she will join him in a few minutes. After Nick goes to the bathroom, Sally hides the bottle of prenatal vitamins.

Tucker goes to Audra’s hotel room and tells her it’s her fault his plan failed and he won’t forget it. Audra tells Tucker his plan failed because Devon figured out they both had the same text message ringtone. Audra tells Tucker that she is done with him professionally and personally. Nate arrives just as Tucker is leaving and Nate wonders what Tucker was doing in her room. Audra tells Nate the truth about both her business and personal relationship with Tucker and gives Nate the option of taking back his job offer to her Nate decides since he has been given a second chance by Victoria he will give Audra a second chance.

Phyllis sees Diane and Jeremy talking at the Grand Phoenix and, although she can’t hear what they are saying, she later tells Nikki about the meeting between Diane and Jeremy. Phyllis asks Nikki what they should do about Diane. Diane tells Jeremy that she is going to Chicago tonight to steal jewelry from Nikki.

Tucker asks Ashley to stay and give him a second chance but Ashley tells him that he had plenty of chances to tell her the truth, but he chose to lie to her. Ashley tells Tucker that this proves to her that he hasn’t changed at all and she can’t wait to go to Paris to get away from him. Victor meets with Kyle at Society and asks for his help to get Adam out of Jabot.

Sally: What do I want to drink?

Nick: Yeah. Chilly night like this, what sounds better? Maybe a big fruity cab or a cocktail?

Sally: I think I’m gonna pass. But I — I don’t wanna stop you.

Nick: What do you mean, you’re gonna pass? I thought we came out for dinner

and drinks.

Sally: I can’T. I mean, just, you know, because of the meeting tomorrow with jill, I just want to get a good night rest and wake up feeling refreshed.

Nick: Alright. I get it. Are you sure you’re okay?

Sally: I’m great. Don’t I seem great?

Nick: You look great. Actually, you seem a little nervous to me.

Sally: Really?

Nick: Yeah. And I think it’s my fault.

Sally: Why would you think that?

Nick: I asked you out to dinner. You know, I threw you off. You were working with chloe.

Sally: Well, you always throw me off. But in a good way. I don’t know. Maybe I just need a minute to get out of work mode and stop worrying about this big meeting.

Nick: Well, I’m just the man for that job.

Sally: Well, isn’t that the truth?

Nick: Gonna get you out of work mode and into —

Sally: Play mode. Yes, I’m in, you know, ’cause all work and no you know what makes me a very cranky girl.

Nick: Well, we don’t want that.

Sally: No, we do not. I’m really happy that you reached out to me. There’s no one else that I would rather spend the night with than you.

[ Footsteps approaching ]

Diane: Are you sure summer’s okay with not going?

Kyle: It took some convincing, but she finally agreed taking harrison to paris wasn’t necessary to keep him safe. We can do that while the situation with stark is being resolved.

Diane: Well, that’s a relief. It would kill me to think of an ocean between me and that sweet little boy.

Kyle: Uh… [ Sighs ] I don’t suppose you’ve heard anything from dad?

Diane: No, nothing since the last text when he was getting close to chicago city limits. But if traffic’s okay, which it should be at this time of night, he should be getting to nikki and victor’s pied–terre any moment, and he will get in there and swipe one of nikki’s ridiculously showy necklaces and get out of there with no one the wiser.

Kyle: I really hope this goes as smoothly as he said it would. My dad is taking a huge risk if he gets caught stealing from them.

Diane: Kyle, if jack wasn’t certain he could pull this off, he never would have suggested it. He will bring back the jewels, which I doubt that nikki will even miss. And I will present them to jeremy as my very illegal token of affection and loyalty. And then once his doubts are pushed aside, we can get on to the next phase of our plan.

Kyle: And you really think stark is actually going to buy all of this?

Diane: Trust me. Your mother still has what it takes to reel in the big fish. In fact, I’m meeting jeremy for drinks now — soon. What?

Kyle: I’m not gonna lie. I still hate every part of this plan. And it worries me, how wired you seem, as if you’re getting a kick out of the game.

Audra: I e-mailed the signed contract back to you. Thanks so much. I’m very much looking forward to joining newman media.

[ Knock on door ] Uh, I need to get going. Okay. Talk soon.

Tucker: Did you think you could just avoid me after what you did?

Audra: I figured you’d show up at some point.

Tucker: Yeah.

Audra: Let’s get this over with.

Tucker: You were messy and careless. And you have absolutely blown it for devon and me. You failed me, audra.

[ Exhales sharply ] I’m not gonna forget it, either.

Sally: Hmm. Wow. That was surprisingly non-confrontational. So, dinner. Ooh — “pamplona de pollo — a colorful, stuffed, rolled, and grilled chicken breast.” I wonder what it’s stuffed with. Oh, my god, and their dessert of the day is argentinean flan. Have you had it here? It’s absolutely phenomenal. What are you thinking?

Nick: I’m thinking we should just get out of here. Let’s go eat somewhere else.

Sally: Why? I’ve been craving this food here.

Nick: I know, but I saw the look on your face when my brother walked in. I don’t like seeing you stressed.

Sally: Look, if we run every time we see adam, we’re gonna wear out our shoes within a week.

Nick: I want you to have a good time.

Sally: Look, I will, okay? And I refuse to let him get to me.

Nick: You sure?

Sally: Look, as long as everyone behaves, there’s no reason for us to leave. We’ll just pretend like he’s not even here.

Diane: I think you’re misinterpreting things. I’m not excited about any of this.

Kyle: I sure as hell hope not.

Diane: [ Sighs ] Okay, I’ll admit that in the past, the very distant past, I might have been. I used to thrive on the thrill of the game, but not anymore.

Kyle: Do you mean that?

Diane: Yes. I mean it. And rest assured, I am not getting sucked into jeremy’s mind-set. This is about shutting that man down once and for all. And, now, that I will enjoy immensely.

Kyle: I suppose I can’t blame you for that. Look, I just want all of this over with as soon as possible.

Diane: Yeah, me too. Alright. I better get going. I’m meeting him for drinks, and I don’t want to keep him waiting.

Kyle: Here.

Diane: Ah, thank you.

Kyle: Mm.

Diane: [ Exhales heavily ]

Kyle: Hey. Please be careful.

Diane: I will be. I’ve got this.

Kyle: [ Sighs heavily ]

Audra: That sounds like a threat.

Tucker: Consider it a promise…one I intend to keep.

Audra: You blew it with your son, not me.

Tucker: No, you had one job! One!

Audra: Look, I did my job to a T.

Tucker: Eh.

Audra: Devon wasn’t suspicious of me until he realized that we share the same stupid phone alert.

[ Scoffs ]

Tucker: What? What are you talking about?

Audra: I guess he didn’t share that part, okay? But this is why he asked if we were colluding against him. Now, why would he wonder about something that could have so easily been dismissed as a coincidence? Because from the moment that he heard that you showed up in town in that ludicrous helicopter, okay, like the attention-seeking narcissist you are, devon wondered if his dear old dad had an agenda to take over his company. Speaks so well of your personal dynamic. Oh. Have I crossed a line? I’m doing you a favor speaking the truth. You could have reconnected with devon without all the secrets and lies. But whenever you have to choose between honesty and manipulation, you always choose the latter. It makes you feel like the smartest guy in the room. Only this time, your son was smarter.

Tucker: And now he won’t return my calls. And he’s cut me off from my grandson. My relationship with him means more than any company ever could, and yet he won’t give me a chance to explain. I just want to work side by side with him. I don’t want to… I wasn’t trying to rob him of anything. I wanted — I wanted to build something with him. Just like I was trying to do with ashley.

Audra: Did things go south there, as well?

Tucker: [ Chuckles ] Yeah. I guess you could it’s not my day.

Audra: That’s life. Do you want me to cower and beg for forgiveness? Too bad. I am as through with you as you are with me. So that’s not happening.

[ Knock on door ]

[ Sighs ] Nate. Come in.

Nate: Hello.

Audra: Hey.

Nate: Is there a problem here?

Tucker: I was just leaving.

Audra: [ Clears throat ]

Nate: I had no idea you knew tucker mccall. What did I just walk in on? Type 2 diabetes?

Audra: I’m sorry you had to see any of that.

Nate: Look, you have every right to tell me it’s none of my business. But since we’re gonna be working together, I’d appreciate it if you’d explain your association with devon’s father. You never happened to mention meeting him.

Audra: You put your faith in me, bringing me on as your ceo. You deserve total honesty. Tucker was here to berate me. Our plan failed, so naturally it’s my fault.

Nate: What plan would that be?

Audra: I was supposed to help him take over chancellor-winters when it went public.

[ Cellphone ringing ]

Kyle: Hi. What’s going on? This is a surprise. When and where? Sounds good. I’ll see you shortly.

Tucker: Kyle.

Kyle: I hope you stopped in to get some coffee before you hop in your car and hit the road since leaving town is the best option for you right about now.

Tucker: Heard the news, huh?

Kyle: Eh, you bombed personally and professionally with ashley and devon.

Tucker: Yeah, I guess so. That’s a nice way of putting it.

Kyle: Yeah, you were crazy to ever think you could get your hands on my family’s company and that you would get back together with ashley, but your ego knows no bounds.

Tucker: I actually abandoned any interest I had in jabot a while ago, but I’m not giving up on ashley quite yet.

Kyle: Hmm. Too bad. She’s heading to paris tonight.

Sally: And that’s one of the good things about launching my own company and setting my own hours.

Nick: No alarm clock?

Sally: It is a violent way to wake up.

Nick: I never really thought about it. With kids in the house, there’s no such thing as “sleeping in.”

Sally: Good point. Um, can I ask you a favor?

Nick: Name it.

Sally: Well, since you know jill so well, do you have any tips on how I can impress her?

Nick: Okay. Obviously, you have made a great impression on her, or she wouldn’t meet with you to hear your presentation. First and foremost, don’t try and B.S. Her. She’s way too sharp. She’ll see right through it. And also, don’t try and fake expertise. Be prepared to back up anything you promise. If you don’t know something or you get stumped, then say that, but immediately follow it with, “but I know how to get you the answer.”

Sally: And that’ll satisfy her?

Nick: Jill is one of the most straightforward people you will ever meet. Also, be confident, but not too confident. But just be real.

Sally: Right. Yes. Total realness.

[ Cellphone ringing ]

Nick: Excuse me. Christian’s nanny. He wants to know if he can watch a movie. “Sure, as long as it’s a short one. Then immediately to bed.” Alright. Back to jill.

Sally: Mm-hmm.

Nick: I have a feeling your meeting with her is gonna go very well.

Sally: Yeah?

Nick: I’m guessing she sees a part of herself in you. She’s very smart and driven and ambitious. She’s worked very hard to prove to anyone who has doubted her that she knows what it takes to be a success. I don’t know if it’s perfectly clear yet or not, but I am a huge fan of yours.

Sally: [ Chuckles ]

Nick: I think you’re beautiful and smart, kind… and unbelievably sexy.

Sally: You know what? I think I changed my mind. I think we should go. ‘Cause I have this sudden, urgent desire to get you alone.

Jeremy: Hey. There you are.

Diane: Hi.

Jeremy: Right on time.

Adam: You know, if it’s all the same to you, I would really like to enjoy my drink in peace.

Kyle: Huh. You know, I think I know what this is about. You’re having trouble dealing with the fact sally chose the superior brother.

Adam: You know, I don’t recall you being a particularly big fan of sally’s, and now you are glad she’s involved with your father-in-law instead of me. Hmm. I doubt summer shares your enthusiasm, so you might want to keep that one to yourself. As usual, you’ve twisted my words around. I was just making an observation.

Victor: Hello, kyle. Glad you could make it.

Kyle: It was nice to get your call.

Victor: Yeah. Hello, son.

Adam: Wait a minute. The two of you are meeting? Why is that?

Victor: Because kyle and i haven’t talked for awhile and i want to know how my granddaughter’s husband is doing, how the family is doing. That’s what we do as family, something evidently you have forgotten.

Adam: Forget I asked. I hope you two have a wonderful evening.

Victor: Shall we get a table over there?

Kyle: Right this way.

Victor: Thank you.

Diane: I thought we agreed I’d surprise you.

Jeremy: Surely you remember how impatient I get when I want something.

Diane: I remember everything about you, jeremy.

Jeremy: You did have me intrigued when you decided to meet today, but given the fact that you were supposed to deliver the goods, whatever they may be, by tomorrow.

Diane: I have time because i have everything perfectly under control.

Jeremy: Okay. That’s good to hear. But you know I detest being left in suspense. So, why don’t you indulge me and give me more information?

Diane: You know, I could be offended by your seeming lack of faith, or I could simply say you’re spoiling the fun, but, okay, I will indulge you. I am headed to chicago tonight.

Jeremy: Oh.

Diane: Yeah. And by tomorrow, I will present you with an exquisite piece of jewelry, one of a kind, very beloved, very expensive, and very stolen.

[ Laughs ] I’ll check off all the boxes of your request.

Jeremy: So, who are you stealing from?

Diane: Nikki newman.

[ Both laugh ]

Jeremy: Really?

Diane: Yes. She, phyllis, and ashley stuck their nose into my past with you in L.A., And then they lured you to genoa city under false claims that I helped put you in prison. They wanted it to suit their own needs, and they used us as puppets. And they thought they could pull the strings. A little payback would be nice.

Jeremy: Hmm.

[ Doorbell rings ]

[ Knock on door ]

[ Bag zips ]

Ashley: Hey.

Tucker: Hi.

Ashley: You’re wasting your time coming here. I’m leaving for paris soon.

Tucker: Yeah. I realize that I’m the last person you want to see right now, but, um… I’m begging you, if you could just hear me out ’cause I hate the way things ended between us and… just — will you please listen to what I have to say? For copd, ask your doctor about breztri.

Nate: When exactly did you and tucker forge this alliance?

Audra: He and I go back a ways. I worked for one of his companies in london. He paid off my business school loans, and I’ve been beholden to him ever since. Full disclosure — we shared both a business and a personal connection.

Nate: Mm. I see.

Audra: I came to genoa city as his trojan horse into chancellor-winters. Devon figured it out, and that’s why I’m no longer with the company, although devon allowed me to resign quietly so as not to cause any public embarrassment to the company.

Nate: So, when you said you were done with your assignment and were ready to move on from there…

Audra: It was a lie of omission.

Nate: Which is still a lie.

Audra: I was hoping, you know, I had the chance to show you what I can bring to the party as your coo before you learned the whole story.

Nate: Mm. You figured you had a little time, given the distance between my cousins and me.

Audra: I see now how foolish that was. I just wanted so badly to land on my feet and prove my worth.

Nate: At my expense. I hired you without knowing all the facts. That doesn’t make me look good.

Audra: I don’t blame you for being disappointed. But know this. I am thrilled to finally be through with tucker mccall. And I believe my business acumen speaks for itself. I have no doubt you and I can achieve great things together. However, under the circumstances, I’ll understand if you want to rescind your offer of employment at newman media.

Ashley: Say what you have to say. I’ve got a plane to catch.

Tucker: I screwed up. Uh, I played it all wrong. I couldn’t have made more mistakes if I had tried to. But everything I did, every thought I had was in hopes of creating something truly special for you.

Ashley: I didn’t hear an apology. But I guess not getting an apology is better than hearing any more of your empty words.

Tucker: I’m sorry that I hurt you. That’s the last thing I wanted. And, uh, that is not spin. I’m not weaving some story to appease you. I’m trying to show you how, um — how desperately I want your happiness.

Ashley: Is that it?

Tucker: I want you to know that it was never my plan to — to rip jabot away from you or your family.

[ Clears throat ] I just was trying to provide the means for you to, uh, become the star that you are, that I think you are. And I knew that you would never do that at jabot ’cause you’re always under the shadow of your brother and — and your dad. And, uh, that’s why I — that’s why I devised the idea —

Ashley: So, you decided what was best for my life. I don’t even get a say in what goes on in my own life?

Tucker: But I saw the excitement in your eyes, the — the spark…

Ashley: Yeah.

Tucker: …When I — you were excited by it, as i knew you would be ’cause I know you, ashley.

Ashley: Ah. You really don’t know me at all, do you?

Tucker: There is more going on than you care to admit between us. I know you said, “oh, I’m playing you.” The connection you and I have can’t be faked. At least my feelings for you are real. And they’re profound. If you feel half of what I do for you, don’t we owe ourselves the chance to — to find our way back from this? Will you stay? Please? Give us a chance.

Phyllis: Oh! Thank you for getting here so fast.

Nikki: I got nervous when i saw your text. Is this about diane?

Phyllis: Yeah. She’s back, despite everything she led us to believe.

Nikki: Yeah, I heard. Um, I don’t really even want to know what she’s up to.

Phyllis: Oh, well, I have a few things. Um, one of them is making out with jack. And jack was going right along with it.

Nikki: As much as it pains me to hear that, it is no surprise. I mean, he’s been protecting her through this whole thing. Of course she’s gonna take advantage of that.

Phyllis: Yeah.

Nikki: But trust me. One of these days, he’s gonna realize what’s happened and he will regret it.

Phyllis: She’s completely playing him.

[ Sighs ] And then I just saw her with jeremy stark, looking, way less than terrified of him, let me just say.

Jeremy: Stealing something precious from nikki after she tried to do the same thing to you by forcing you to leave your family. Oh, that’s poetic.

Diane: I thought you’d find it as delicious as I do.

Jeremy: And if you could actually deliver, I’d be really impressed.

Diane: Don’t worry. I will.

Jeremy: How can you be so sure? You’ve raised the bar really high for yourself.

Diane: Well, don’t I always?

Jeremy: Still, there are a lot of logistics involved. An ambitious heist like this would be very difficult to pull off on your own.

Diane: Difficult, but not impossible.

Jeremy: As much as I admire your self-confidence, I would like to hear exactly how you plan to pull this off. Trelegy for copd.

Nate: Your story makes so much sense now. When I betrayed my cousins and everything hit the fan, you barely reacted, which at the time seemed a bit strange. Now I realize that you must have been relieved that the spotlight was on me. It never occurred to my cousins that there was another double agent in their midst.

Audra: Apparently. But trust me, I was not nonchalant. Your confession that you were working with another power player in town intending to make a move on the company came as quite a jolt.

Nate: Tucker realized he had some competition.

Audra: Yeah.

Nate: If I had stayed the course with my plan for newman to take over chancellor-winters, it would have ruined tucker’s plan.

Audra: Yeah, or at least forced him to rethink his strategy on the fly, putting him at a serious disadvantage. I mean, if someone’s better than you at playing the game, there’s no one to blame except yourself.

Nate: You really feel that way?

Audra: I have no reason to lie at this point. You play to win, or you’ve already lost.

Nate: Hmm. Agreed. Which is why my offer for you to be my coo still stands.

Ashley: You’re right. This is complicated for me. I started to feel things for you again. I didn’t think it was even possible, but, um… it happened. But, you know, even though I was feeling that pull, you know, whatever that is that you and i have together, I felt it. And my instincts kept telling me that I shouldn’t trust you, and my instincts were dead right.

Tucker: But everything’s out in the open now. So, let’s — let’s —

Ashley: Come on. Stop it. There’s no chance in hell.

Tucker: Why?

Ashley: I have to spell it out for you? You’re a crappy partner, tucker. You were the first time around, and you haven’t changed. You had every opportunity to be honest with me. All you had to do was be straight with me! And you chose not to. Until I saw your son rub your nose in your lies. And I can’t wait to get on that plane so I don’t have to look at you again.

Victor: So, how are things going at marchetti?

Kyle: Oh, very well. We’ve gotten into a groove.

Victor: Oh, yeah. Nice to hear. And how is my beautiful granddaughter and, more importantly, my great grandson?

Kyle: We’re all good.

Victor: Good. Great to hear that.

Kyle: Although I doubt that’s the real reason you wanted to get together. Normally, you would have gone directly to summer or at least invited her to join us.

Victor: Well, what do you think I’m here to discuss?

Kyle: I would assume my mother.

Victor: Hmm. A lot of things to say about your mother. But I shall refrain from doing so right now. Something more important is on my mind.

Kyle: Such as?

Victor: How is adam doing at jabot?

Kyle: [ Sighs ]

[ Lock whirs, disengages ]

Sally: [ Sighs ] Never should have left here in the first place.

Nick: Right? What was I thinking?

Sally: Why don’t I take your coat off?

Nick: Really?

Sally: Mm-hmm.

Nick: Okay.

Sally: But I won’t stop there.

Nick: No?

Sally: Mnh-mnh. I’m gonna keep going, piece by piece, until everything that you are wearing is on the floor.

Nick: I like the way your mind works. Dry skin is sensitive skin, too.

Tucker: How long will you be gone?

Ashley: That’s none of your business. But it’s gonna be nice not to have to think about you anymore, just like it was before you came back to town.

Tucker: Whereas I’ll be thinking about you every minute.

Ashley: My car is gonna be here any second. So, if you have any respect for me, like you keep telling me you do, please go. Now.

Diane: I am disappointed in you, jeremy. Don’t you know by now not to underestimate me?

Jeremy: That’s not —

Diane: Remember, I lived in this town for years. I interacted with all the key players. I was even mrs. Victor newman. A couple of times. No one is more of an insider than I am. And even if I weren’t, there are ways of getting one’s hands on information. Come on. Give me a little credit.

Jeremy: Oh, you are as intoxicating as ever right now.

Diane: Now, that’s more like it.

Jeremy: I believe that i could almost trust you.

Diane: By tomorrow, i guarantee you will be 100% sold.

Nikki: Look at diane, cozying up to that criminal.

Phyllis: Mm-hmm. It’s really disgusting how she keeps stringing jack along while she’s sitting there colluding with this guy.

Nikki: We’ve always known she has no shame.

Phyllis: Alright. While ashley’s out of town for a few weeks, what are we gonna do? How are we gonna get rid of diane?

Nikki: [ Sighs ]

Sally: You know, since you liked my first idea so much…

Nick: Oh. Do you have another one?

Sally: Mm-hmm. Once we are out of all of these clothes, why don’t we go warm up in the shower together?

Nick: I love it. I’m in. Let’s go.

Sally: Alright. Why don’t you go turn on the water and I will meet you there in a minute?

Nick: Alright.

Sally: [ Sighs heavily ]

Kyle: Adam seems to be doing alright.

Victor: Okay. Now, I can’t imagine that you’re too happy that he is at jabot, as your father’s co-ceo, no less.

Kyle: Eh, our paths don’t really cross that much.

Victor: So, let’s be frank with each other. Neither you nor I like the fact that he’s working at your family’s company. So, why don’t we remedy that?

Daniel: What, did a bomb just go off in here? You guys okay? Everything alright?

Abby: Do you have an update about dissolving the merger?

Devon: Yeah, I do. And it’s not what I saw coming.

Alexis: I’m really sorry about Britt, Spencer.

Spencer: It’s so wrong that she’s gone. And it scares me that there’s someone else out there who may be even more dangerous and unhinged than Esme is.

Jordan: How’d it go?

Dante: Hey, I’m just cueing up the footage now.

Jordan: I understand the position you’re in, but this investigation needs a break. Bennet’s interview with Westbourne was helpful in that we now know The Hook’s wearing a mask, but she’s still on the loose.

Dante: Yeah, I know.

Jordan: If you feel more comfortable, I can take the lead on the questioning.

Dante: No, no, no, no, no, no. It’s all good. It’s all good. We just — we need to get to the bottom of what happened, uh, to Britt Westbourne that night.

Jordan: That we do. And I’m hoping your connection with the witness pays off for all of our sakes.

Michael: Hey, drew, do you know where my mom is?

Drew: I do, yeah. Um…she’s with Nina.

Michael: Nina? This night is already bad enough. Why would she talk to Nina, of all people?

Drew: Michael, there’s, um… there’s something that you need to know.

Michael: Not — not if it has to do with Nina. Um, not now.

Drew: And I-I get it. I get it. Nina has made life very difficult for you and Willow.

Michael: Yeah, she’s been hounding us for months. I mean, she took us to court over Wiley, she was claiming that Willow was cheating on me. Nina can’t stay out of our lives, no matter what we do to avoid her.

Sonny: Hey.

Josslyn: Hey. Have you seen Michael?

Sonny: No, I, uh… I’m sure he’s close.

Josslyn: Something’s come up and I have to go. But I told Michael I’d stay with Willow, and I just feel really bad leaving her.

Sonny: I’ll sit with Willow. You go ahead — go ahead and go. I-I’ll explain it to Michael.

Josslyn: Okay.

Nina: Carly, before you start, if this is about me upsetting Willow again, I did not go over there for that.

Carly: That’s not what this is about. As you know, Willow is sick.

Nina: Yeah. I know that. That’s why Sonny and I were at the chapel. We were praying for Willow.

Carly: Praying is good. But you can do more to save Willow.

Nina: Anything I can do.

Carly: Good. Because you may be the only person on earth who can help.

Portia: Spencer needs you?

Trina: He needs a friend, Mom.

Portia: I didn’t realize you still considered Spencer to be a friend.

Trina: Well, I mean, Esme resurfaced, and Spencer found out that she’s pregnant — by his father — and then he lost Britt, who he was very close to. I mean, it’s — it’s been a lot on him.

Portia: I don’t doubt it. [ Chuckles ] Especially the pregnancy part. I-I’m sure Spencer has a lot to unpack. But what about Josslyn and Cam? Can’t they help him? [ Stammers ]

Curtis: Your mother and I know how amazingly compassionate you are, Trina.

Portia: Of course, we are extremely proud of your instinct to want to help someone that’s in need. But, um… [Sighs] You have a very giving and forgiving heart, and you’re going through a lot right now yourself.

Curtis: Your mother and I want to make sure that you’re supported. There’s just so much to process. Like, how do you feel about Esme being caught?

Trina: Wow, uh, that’s a question. [ Sighs ] And honestly, I’m conflicted. I mean, for months, I wanted Esme to face consequences for filming that video and framing me. She made my life hell.

Portia: Of course. Yes. You would want justice.

Trina: [ Sighs ] Yeah, I-I did, but… …I wanted more than justice. I wanted revenge. And part of me still does.

Alexis: So you’re living here now?

Spencer: I am living here now.

Alexis: Enough about that. I assume you’ve been told that the PCPD is no longer considering Esme as a suspect?

Spencer: Yes, but that doesn’t mean that she’s innocent of anything else. [ Chuckling ] I’ve learned to never underestimate Esme.

Alexis: No. Hard won wisdom.

Spencer: I did speak with her, though.

Alexis: What’d she say? I’m asking as your aunt, not as a — as an editor.

Spencer: That’s cool. Either way, she didn’t know who I was. Either she’s a very convincing fake, or she’s got amnesia.

Alexis: Or maybe it’s possible she committed the crimes and doesn’t remember.

Spencer: [ Scoffs lightly ]

Alexis: I think it’s smart that the PCPD moved on to other suspects.

Spencer: I almost wish that she was guilty just so that I could stop worrying that someone is targeting Trina and our other friends.

Alexis: Britt was incredibly brave.

Spencer: I almost wish that she wasn’t. Yes, she put her life on the line, but if she had just run away like the person who she was protecting, maybe she would have lived to fight another day. I don’t know.

Dante: Joss, hey. Thanks for, uh, coming down here so quickly.

Josslyn: Yeah, well, you said it was important on the phone.

Dante: Yeah, it is. It’s about The Hook Killer.

Josslyn: Did you find her?

Dante: Not yet. But I’m hoping you can help us out with some questions.

Josslyn: Well, I want to do whatever I can to help, but will it take long?

Dante: I don’t know. Why? Do you have someplace to be?

Josslyn: Actually, yes. I was with Willow. What’s this?

Jordan: Come in, Josslyn. Have a seat.

Sonny: You look so fragile.

[ Monitor beeping ]

Sonny: But I know you’re anything but. I’ve seen you take on Shiloh and Nelle to protect… Wiley. Been in a jail cell. [ Whispering ] Hey, you’re a fighter. That’s why I know you’re gonna fight this. You have the best medical care, and Michael’s gonna do everything he can to take care of you.

[ Beeping continues ]

Sonny: I just — I just wish I-I knew how to take care of you both.

Michael: Nina actually came to our house tonight and accused me of jeopardizing Willow’s health. She confused Wiley. She upset Willow. Look, if I have to get a restraining order, I’ll get one. I’ll do everything in my power to keep Nina away from Wiley and Willow.

Drew: Michael, Michael. You do not want to do that, okay? Listen, Carly and I think that Nina could be a bone marrow match for Willow.

Michael: What do you mean? Why? Why? What?

Drew: Well… [ Sighs ] Y-you know how I’ve been searching for Willow’s birth family, right?

Michael: Oh, come on. Don’t tell me that — that Nina’s some distant relative.

Drew: Not so distant.

Nina: I’m happy to get tested, just like everyone else.

Carly: You’re not like everybody else. You need to get tested now, and you need to rush the results.

Nina: Carly, I understand the urgency — I do, because Willow’s having a medical crisis. But why did you have to come to me personally?

Carly: Because a related donor transplant has the best chance of success, and you are the most likely match.

Nina: Willow and I are not related.

Carly: You are.

Nina: Are you alright? We’re only connected through Wiley, Carly, and that’s only because Nelle was my daughter.

Carly: Nelle isn’t your only daughter, Nina. Willow is, too.

Dante: Uh, you obviously know that, recently, Britt Westbourne was murdered by The Hook.

Josslyn: Yes.

Jordan: Dr. Westbourne was nicked trying to defend someone else.

Dante: We’ve been searching for the intended victim — the person that Britt rescued — and we got video footage from security cameras at the docks, and we think we have a lead. You recognize anyone?

Josslyn: Well… it’s grainy.

Dante: Yeah. Uh, look, Joss, that footage was captured on Pier 54 at 11:57 P.M. The night of December 31st, 15 minutes before Britt called the police about the attack on Pier 55.

Josslyn: What’s your question?

Jordan: Josslyn, was it your life that Dr. Britt Westbourne saved the night she died?

Curtis: You’re only human. It’s perfectly natural that you would want Esme to pay for her crimes.

Trina: Except… I don’t think I do anymore. A-at least not like I used to. I mean, you should have seen her when she showed up on the deck at The Haunted Star. She looked… pathetic. Soaking wet, shivering, pregnant, and completely vulnerable.

Portia: That night, yeah, maybe. But that doesn’t mean that she’s still not a threat.

Curtis: She drugged Oz Haggerty to the point that he had to be in a medically induced coma. And she’s still a suspect in The Hook killings.

Trina: Look, no doubt that Esme has done some horrible things, but that was the old Esme.

Portia: So — so you believe that Esme doesn’t remember what she’s done?

Trina: I heard that’s what the doctors think. And if they’re right, I mean, is it possible that amnesia changed Esme?

Sonny: I’ve lost so many people in my life.

[ Monitor beeping ]

Sonny: My son can’t lose you. For Michael, the sun rises and sets in your eyes.

[ Beeping continues ]

Sonny: You’re the mother of his children. You’re his best friend, his soulmate. And I know you’ve encouraged him to communicate with me, to meet me halfway. You’ve never lost hope. We’re going to be a father and son again. Everybody needs you. Your family needs you. I need you. Losing you would mean there’s no hope of… …my family getting back together again.

Michael: Wait, Nina is Willow’s birth mother? Nina? What, the woman who’s been badgering and antagonizing Willow since the time she was a teacher? You — and Harmony knew the whole time?! I mean, how — how — how could she —

Drew: Michael, Michael, I know that this is a lot to take in. I know that, but Willow needs you. She ne– she needs your support, okay? And, listen, Carly wanted to tell her, but because time is of the essence —

Nina: What are you talking about? Willow is not my daughter.

Carly: Look, I understand this is a shock.

Nina: A shock?!

Carly: And there’s an explanation. I’m happy to give it to you, but later. Please come with me to the lab —

Nina: I am not going anywhere with you…

Carly: There is no time to waste here.

Nina: …Until you tell me — then talk fast.

Carly: You had twins.

Nina: Impossible.

Carly: No. No. You were in a coma.

Nina: Well, I had medical attention, Carly. Phyllis was one of my nurses. She took Nelle, they went to Florida, and she gave Nelle to the Bensons.

Carly: Phyllis didn’t know about the second baby. And I’m guessing that was by design, because Madeline wanted to make sure that, if she separated the babies, she could get her hands on your inheritance.

Nina: Okay, I don’t know why you’re doing this, but I-I’ll play along with you. Okay, so if — if Willow was Nelle’s twin, you’re saying that Madeline handed Willow off to — Harmony.

Carly: Your mother gave the baby to Harmony.

Dante: The person in that footage looks a lot like you. And if it is you, Joss, that means you were in the vicinity of the attack and maybe you could help us identify the killer.

Josslyn: Look, I would tell you if I thought it would help.

Robert: There’s no need to be cagey. I mean, you’re in no trouble.

Jordan: We believe you were a victim that night. It’s just curious that you didn’t say anything.

Dante: Joss, we think you were the intended target the night Brando was killed. And if what we suspect is right, then the killer got a second shot at you on New Year’s Eve.

Jordan:  If Britt hadn’t shown up, your family might be planning your funeral.

Robert:  Look, we can’t protect you unless you give us all the information. Talk to us —

[ Police radio chatter in distance ]

Diane: Not one word.

Curtis: Whether or not Esme has amnesia… Trina, you can’t let your guard down. It’s possible that she’s a killer.

Trina: You guys, I hear you. I-I fully believe that Esme’s a psycho. But not a serial killer.

Portia: Look, I-I’m not really clear on the laws dealing with memory loss, but I don’t think it warrants Esme a free pass. She committed crimes. She’s a criminal. She needs to face the consequences of her actions.

Trina: A-and that’s what Spencer said. A-and I don’t disagree. [ Sighs ] Okay. I’m not saying I’ll ever trust Esme again. I’m just not using her as a means for my closure. I am ready to end that chapter of my life and move on.

Portia: And how does letting Spencer back in help you do that?

Alexis: Spencer, you arguably were closest to Esme. She didn’t have any family. True?

Spencer: Um, just adopted siblings. They’re not close. I know that. But in due time, Esme will give birth and contribute directly to her family tree.

Alexis: And ours.

Sonny:  So, here’s what we’re going to do. We’re going to do everything we can to get you well… so you can get back to your kids and my son.

[ Monitor beeping ]

Sonny:  And even if I’m not invited back into the fold, it doesn’t matter. I just want you to be together and happy. [ Whispering ] Open your eyes. Come on. You can do this. Just…

[ Beeping continues ]

Nina: Well, who knows how Harmony got Willow? I mean, that woman was a pathological liar.

Carly: One that tried to kill me and Alexis just to keep this secret safe.

Nina: Well, if she wanted to keep the secret safe, Carly, how did you find out?

Carly: Harmony told me… …the night she died.

Nina: She told you? You suspected that I was Willow’s mother when Harmony died last year?

Carly: And if I would have known that Willow was sick, I would have said something a long time ago.

Nina: Did you tell Willow this?

Carly: No.

Nina: Good! Because, Carly, there is no evidence beyond a troubled woman’s sick confession on her deathbed!

Carly: Nina, no.

Nina: You know what, this is irresponsible of you to just go out and present this as truth! And I can kind of understand it because of what Willow is going through, but I’m going to do you a big favor right now, and I’m going to pretend that this conversation never took place.

Carly: I know for a fact you’re Willow’s biological mother.

Nina: How?

Carly: I have proof.

Sonny: Josslyn was called away. She didn’t want to leave Willow alone.

[ Monitor beeping ]

Michael: I appreciate you being here.

Sonny: Yeah, of course.

Michael: Yeah.

Sonny: Um, I’m gonna let you guys — I’ll leave you two alone.

[ Beeping continues ]

Michael: [ Sighs ] You know, I could hear your voice in my head… telling me to go after him. [ Breathes deeply ] That life’s too short, and he’s trying. Just please don’t tell me that our life is going to be cut short together. [ Breathes deeply ] I need you. [ Sniffles ] Now, you’re my conscience voice in my head. [ Sniffles ] And I need to hear it. [Sniffles] Out loud… [ Sighs ] …Even if it’s scolding me. [ Sighs ]

Willow: I’ll remind you you said that.

Trina:  Since Rory died, Spencer’s really been there for me.

Portia:  At what cost? I will always be grateful that Spencer did the right thing in the end. But I’ll never forget that he lied and he took Esme’s side.

Trina:  Mom, he was playing her.

Portia:  Not the entire time, he wasn’t. I don’t get it. I don’t get how you can excuse that and let him back in. How is that moving on with your life?

[ Cellphone rings ]

Curtis: [ Scoffs lightly ] I gotta check in on the club.

Portia:  [ Sighs ]

Trina:  Yeah? I understand your concerns, Mom, but my eyes are wide open. I see how Spencer’s matured this last year. Those months in Pentonville, and now losing people he loved… it’s — it’s — it’s changed him, given him purpose. He’s committed to doing better.

Portia:  I am genuinely so sorry for what Spencer is going through. I really am. And the way his father betrayed him, it — it — it — it’s indefensible. I know.

Trina:  Spencer’s crushed. He was really tight with Britt. And his father, the — the only parent he has, keeps letting him down over and over again.

Portia:  And that’s one of the other reasons why I am so uncomfortable with you two reconnecting. The Cassadines are dangerous. Even to themselves. Honey, everyone that gets near them ends up getting burned. Look at me. Everyone gets burned.

Alexis: I take it you’re not that thrilled about having a new sibling?

Spencer: [ Scoffs, sniffles ]

Alexis: Just keep in mind, it’s not the baby’s fault. The baby is innocent.

Spencer: I’m not going to hold a grudge against the baby.

Alexis: I know. I know. You’re a good one. You’re filled with forgiveness and empathy.

Spencer: Thank you. Here’s the issue — is that if Esme finds a way out of this, she’s going to take that baby as far away from Port Charles as she possibly can.

Alexis: Yeah, good luck with that. Esme’s got some real serious legal trouble pending. And even if she finds some way to get over that, your father is resolved.

Spencer: Resolved to what?

Alexis: Oh, he wants full custody of that child.

Dante: Well, I should have known Josslyn was going to call Diane. She’s Carly’s daughter. She taught her probably to never talk to the police without a lawyer present.

Robert: Diane looks to be in fighting form.

Dante: Mm.

Robert: Killer Miller.

Diane: Did I hear my name? My client is ready to make a statement.

Dante: We wanted to keep this informal.

Diane: Did you? So you have her stepbrother call her down here and then ambush her with the District Attorney and The Commissioner? You know the rules. You cannot compel a perceived or potential witness to say anything.

Robert: [ Chuckles ] There’s no need to pull out the heavy artillery. We’re just talking.

Diane: [ Clears throat ] My client is ready to make a statement. The moment this turns into an interrogation, I’m pulling the plug. Josslyn.

Josslyn: [ Sighs ] I was on Pier 55 at midnight on New Year’s. Someone did come at me with a hook. I do not know who it was. She was wearing a mask. I tried to get away, but I was in heels. I fell down, and she was basically on top of me. She was going to stab me, and then Britt came out of nowhere swinging her bag. And she told me to run, and I did.

Jordan: Why didn’t you come forward the moment you heard she had died?

Josslyn: I only found out about Britt a couple of hours ago, and we had a family emergency.

Robert: Well, if what you’re saying is truthful, why did you feel the need to engage counsel?

Diane: Well, first of all, it’s her constitutional right.

Robert: If she was arrested, which she wasn’t.

Diane: It is always a sensible idea to retain counsel. She’s only following her mother’s example, and the example of her Uncle Jason, who, if you will recall, never, ever sat down to a police interview without benefit of counsel. And think about how many “misunderstandings” we avoided over the years. And here we are again — avoiding another one.

Robert: Well, there’s really no comparison. Unless, of course, you’re accusing my office of persecuting victims of crime?

Diane: Not at all, District Attorney. I trust you to act in good faith, just as Josslyn trusts me to ensure that you do. Anything to add?

Josslyn: I did not see anything that night that could help you. I wish that I had.

Dante: Do you by any chance remember if your attacker was pregnant?

Josslyn: Um… I mean, I don’t — I don’t really know. I wasn’t paying much attention. I was kind of focused on the hook and trying to get away.

Diane: I know exactly how you feel. Alright, are we done? Yep?

Jordan: Only if Josslyn has nothing more to add.

Josslyn: No.

Diane: Okay.

Robert: I’ll walk you out.

Diane: Alright.

Dante: Hey, Joss, could I have a minute with you?

Diane: Um, only if this is a family matter and not police business.

Dante: It is a family matter.

Diane: Josslyn?

Josslyn: It’s fine.

Dante: [ Sighs ]

Dante: I’m sorry about this.

Josslyn: Was this your idea?

Dante: No, but I did go along with it.

Josslyn: Dante, if I knew anything that could help you with this case, you wouldn’t have to ambush me. I would have come to you myself.

Dante: I know. [ Breathes deeply ] Looks like you, uh, outmaneuvered us anyway by calling Diane.

Josslyn: Well, like she said, I learned from the best.

Dante: Oh, yeah, you did. Hey, so, what was the, uh, the family emergency?

Nina: What proof do you have that Willow’s my daughter?

Carly: I ran a DNA test on the two of you.

Nina: You did what?

Carly: After Harmony told me that you were Willow’s mother, I was skeptical, so I took a few strands of hair from Willow’s hairbrush and a glass that you had used at Charlie’s pub.

Nina: You stole my DNA, and then you conducted an illegal DNA test without my knowledge or consent?

Carly: The results were conclusive. With a probability of 99.9%… you and Willow are biologically mother and daughter.

Sonny: It’s good you’re here.

Drew: Sorry, what’s that?

Sonny: Michael needs all the support he can get, you know, and, uh, he doesn’t want it from me.

Drew: Josslyn said you filled her in about Willow.

Sonny: Have you known all along?

Drew: No. No. Willow just filled me in a couple weeks ago.

Sonny: Kills me they didn’t loop us in.

Drew: It’s always better to have things out in the open, that’s for sure.

Sonny: Can — can I ask you a question?

Drew: Yeah.

Sonny: Carly’s in the chapel right now with Nina instead of Michael and Willow. Do you know anything about that?

Spencer: My father wants the baby?

Alexis: He plans to sue for custody on the grounds that she’s unfit.

Spencer: Pot, meet kettle.

Alexis: I know. I know. I-I-I don’t know the details. I don’t want to know the details. I just know that he’s serious.

Spencer: And with his considerable resources and no one to vouch for Esme…

Alexis: He stands a good chance.

Spencer: Uh-huh. [ Sniffles ]

Alexis: Okay, so if Esme is not the killer, who is?

Spencer: I wish I could tell you. I really thought it was her.

Alexis: Does Trina have any enemies?

Spencer: No, everyone loves Trina.

Alexis: What about Portia? What about Taggert or Curtis?

Spencer: Her mom? I don’t think so. Her dad and Curtis, they were both in law enforcement, so maybe, but why would they go after Trina instead of going after them directly? Are you looking for a scoop?

Alexis: I’m looking for the truth. I would like the killer caught. I have to go to work. I have a conference call. Please don’t tell your father that I told you about his plans.

Spencer: I won’t. It’s good to see you.

Alexis: And as far as vouching for Esme… is there anyone important to her aside from the sociopath Chamberlain?

Spencer: Um. Yes. There’s a, um — yes. And she’s very devoted to Esme. Maybe even enough to kill for her.

Portia: I’ve tried, Trina. I really tried to be open-minded… about your connection with Spencer. But his father lost me when Nikolas terrorized you kids at Wyndemere because he was trying to teach Spencer a lesson. And now that same man cheated on his wife with Spencer’s girlfriend and got her pregnant. The very same girl that terrorized Ava. And please don’t get me started on Victor Cassadine, because I can’t —

Trina: I know, Mom. I know Spencer’s family is really messed up.

Portia: “Amoral” — I think that’s a better word for it. I don’t want you anywhere near those people, Trina. I don’t.

Trina: Spencer is not his family. He’s his own man.

Portia: He’s a two-time convicted felon, is what he is.

Trina: Growing up, you taught me never to judge people by their worst mistakes. That’s what I’m doing.

Portia: I know. But you also have to look at the patterns that people do, honey.

Willow: Did he see me pass out?

Michael: I’m afraid so, yeah.

Willow: He must be terrified now.

Michael: Well, he knows you’re sick, but he doesn’t have all the details. We, um… we can, uh — we can explain it to him together.

Willow: Will I make it home to do that?

Michael: Yeah, of course. Why would you ask that?

Willow: You have the strangest expression on your face. What aren’t you telling me?

Michael: Um… look, it’s about — it’s about Nina.

Willow: I never want to hear that woman’s name again.

Drew: I do know why Carly needed to speak to Nina, but… …it’s not my place to share.

Sonny: Carly’s not here. I need some answers. And if it involves my family, I need to know. So I suggest you tell me.

Willow: Yeah, me too. It’d be nice to look to her as an example for how to best be a mom to Wiley.

Nina: He’s my grandson. He’s the only thing that I have left of my daughter. He’s my blood.

No, I meant about the lawsuit. Oh, well honey, you know. Well, wouldn’t you have as much money as I do? Frivolous lawsuits, they come with the territory, but my attorneys, they will make myths. Meet the Sloan Peterson. It’s just you. Wait, you have another proposition? I’m listening. What if we. Leave Gwen out of the plea deal.

I could testify against Sandra alone. I’ll say he was the one who hired me to wear the padded clown suit. Knock Gwen. But that’s a boldfaced lie. You have a problem with that? Not necessarily. Good. The only thing is I need to testify anonymously. Oh, you don’t want your little bestie finding out that you drop the dime on Cook.

I’m pretty sure she’ll find out. I’m not worried about Gwen. I am constantly saving her from herself. It’s this thing we do. And sure she’ll be pissed at first, but at least we’ll both be free. Okay. So if you’re not worried about Glen finding out, then what’s the point of having an anonymous testimony because of Sonny, Alex’s brother, or what does he have to do with this?

He’s my friend. He believed in me when nobody else would. Sonny thinks I’ve changed. I can’t have him knowing I was involved in something like this.

Okay, so, so is, is that how you see me? I’m just a pathetic tool. Stumbling around with a, with a, a take advantage of me. Shout out, you know, that’s not what I meant. Well, look, I choose to give people like Leo and Alex, the benefit of the doubt, because we could all use a little redemption from time to time.

You know, even me, even you. Just about everyone on this planet. Sure. Yeah. Redemption once in a while is something that we all need, but in this case, what Alex did, he deprived your cousin of Alaska by to her mother. I doubt Stephanie’s gonna be as forgiving as you are.

I am sorry for robbing. Of your last moments with your mom,

but I will spend the rest of my life trying to make up for it. If you let me, you can spend two lifetimes, three lifetimes. Hell, you can spend eternity trying to make it up to me. Nothing you ever say or do will give me back what you took from me, Steph. No, I’m done. I want you to leave Steph. The least you can do is respect my wishes.

Sarah Honey. Hi Bonnie. Hi Justin. We were just about to grab dinner. Um, we’d love for you to join us unless you have other plants. No, I, I don’t, um, I’d actually love to join you. Just, I’m afraid I won’t be much company. I’m kind of wiped out. Oh yeah. I’m sure you’ve been working all out lately. Yeah. Just kinda nonstop trying to find that cure from Elena.

Any luck? No, unfortunately. And without that orchid we can’t do much. But we are gonna keep trying though. Well, we’re all praying for her. Yeah. It’s all my, actually Justin, um, I’m really glad I ran into you. There’s, um, something I would like to discuss. What’s that?

Steffy: Mom, don’t do it. Don’t confess anything to the police.

Taylor: That is the only way to take away bill’s power and you know it. He’s blackmailing us, steffy! He’s threatening to– to turn me in for shooting him years ago. I can’t live under that kind of threat! And even worse, sheila walking free? No. No, I can not let that happen. I will sacrifice my own freedom and– and– and– and my own safety before I– I sacrifice yours and my grandchildren’S. I will. Zero regrets.

Sheila: So, how’s it feel to have someone… forever in debt to you, hm? I’m a free woman, all charges have been dropped and it’s all because of you. Of course, you know that is going to ruffle some feathers. I mean, when they find out about us, are you ready for the mob that’s going to come knocking at your door? I mean, katie and– and brooke?

Bill: They both turned me down again and again.

Sheila: So, if either is upset by this, it’s just… too bad? It’s their own fault anyway.

Brooke: This can’t be real. I mean, there is no way a judge would let sheila go.

Katie: Especially after hearing from steffy and finn. I mean, you can’t tell me they didn’t make extremely credible witnesses.

Carter: I’m sure they did, but my contact was certain. It’s not some rumor he heard, it’s fact. Sheila carter was released.

Brooke: Ah, what?

Katie: Maybe the judge ruled that sheila was mentally unfit to stand trial. I mean, I could see that as a possibility. Maybe she’s in some kind of institution?

Carter: No, she was set free.

Brooke: How is that even possible? What the hell happened?

Carter: Well, maybe someone came forward with some new evidence? A way to justify her actions?

Brooke: Wait. You think that there’s somebody out there that’s willing to defend sheila?

Carter: There must be. Otherwise, she’d still be in prison. Someone’s responsible for this.

Katie: Question is who?

Bill: I probably burned every bridge I had siding with you.

Sheila: Bridges to people that always let you down. Unlike me, now I– I’m gonna be someone you can always count on. I promise. So if you excuse me, I am gonna go freshen up for the rest of our evening together.

Steffy: Say you go to the police. Say you make this huge sacrifice, it doesn’t guarantee that sheila will be arrested. Bill will do everything in his power to keep her out of prison. He’s lost his way, mom.

Taylor: Yeah.

Steffy: Clearly lost his mind.

Taylor: Clearly, clearly, but it frees you up to testify.

Finn: To a corrupt judge? Taylor, what’s the point?

Steffy: Bill has the judge bought and sold. Who knows who else is on his payroll? If you expose yourself, you’ll go to prison. I’m not letting that happen.

Taylor: All right. All right, I– I won’t go to police.

Steffy: Oh, my god. Thank you so much, mom. I couldn’t handle the thought of you going. I can’t lose you. I can’T.

Taylor: Oh, I love you so much. I… I am so– I am so happy that I get to be here with you guys. I– I– this house, your family that you made. It’s so filled with love. You know, coming back to L.A. Was probably the– the best decision I’ve ever made. Being here with you guys, my grandbabies, it’s– it’s been– it’s been so healing for me.

Steffy: For all of us.

Taylor: Yeah. I’m just sorry that I was away for so long.

Steffy: You’re here now. That’s all that matters.

Taylor: But I’m here now at the mercy of bill Spencer and he can take that away whenever he wants. My god. Do you think he has any idea how dangerous this is?

Steffy: No. Not until we figure out a way to get through to him, there’s really nothing we can do.

Taylor: You leave that to me. Ever leave your clothes in the dryer

Brooke: Even if somebody came forward on sheila’s behalf, if there was some kind of new evidence. Wait, what am I talking about? How could there be new evidence? Everybody knows what happened. There’s no denying that.

Katie: She claims that shooting finn was an accident, so maybe it has something to do with that? There was no intent to harm?

Carter: But there was intent to cause steffy harm. Just because finn jumped in front of a bullet doesn’t make the shooting an accident. And then, sheila turns her gun to steffy and shoots her too. No, it’s clearly intentional.

Brooke: Okay, well that’s what finn and steffy were doing. They were testifying to the judge and you’re saying a judge heard that, but they still let sheila go?

[ Katie sighing ]

Steffy: I can’t believe my mother even considered turning herself in.

Finn: She wants to protect you and the kids. Keep sheila away. I can understand. But hey, you got through to her. You don’t have to worry.

Steffy: But we have to worry about sheila for the rest of our lives. And bill. I mean, my mom is right. Bill has the power.

Finn: What do you think she meant? Leave it to her?

Steffy: Oh, no.

Finn: What?

Steffy: My mother said she’s not going to the police. Because she’s going somewhere else instead. Bill’S.

[ Taylor panting ]

Taylor: Where is she? Where is sheila?

Bill: Upstairs.

Taylor: Why are you doing this, bill? Why? Why are you standing behind her? Why are you trying to keep a psychopath out of prison? That’s what she is, you know? She is manipulative. She is dangerous. She has terrorized my family for years. Are you forgetting how dangerous sheila is? Are you forgetting what she’s done? What she’s done to my family? And to yours too. Your granddaughter. Sheila almost left kelly motherless with no remorse. Not a second thought. Come on, bill. Think about what sheila did to steffy and finn. The trauma that she caused. What she put them through. If you can think about that and still tell me that you don’t think that sheila should be in prison… you can’t! And I can’t allow it!

Sheila: Allow what? Hello, taylor. I brought in ensure max protein

Katie: Word about this is gonna spread fast.

Carter: Yeah. Sheila’s set free. You bet it will.

Katie: Okay, time for me to get to work. The press is gonna want a statement from forrester. I need to pay steffy a visit so we can all get on the same page, work out a game plan.

Carter: Can I go? Might be good to have a lawyer with you.

Katie: Ah, you just read my mind. I was just about to ask you.

Brooke: Is there anything I can do?

Carter: Warn everyone. Let security know about our new reality. Sheila’s not going to prison after all.

Katie: Let’s go find out why.

Steffy: Straight to voicemail.

Finn: Hey, look, maybe she’s with a patient, okay? Or she’s just–

Steffy: Or confronting bill.

Finn: Why don’t you look up her location, huh? Maybe that’ll give you some peace of mind.

Steffy: I hope she’s heading home. Oh, my god.

Finn: What?

Steffy: Her location is blocked. She never does that.

Finn: Okay, then just go. I get it. You gotta be with your mom. Just be safe, please.

Steffy: I will.

Finn: Okay?

Steffy: If bill provokes her, or worse, sheila. Oh, my gosh. My mom’s gonna call the cops and turn herself in. I gotta go.

Finn: Yeah, well just don’t let that happen.

Sheila: You know, it’s lovely to see you, taylor, but I’m sorry. What you not going to allow?

Taylor: You. Your freedom.

Sheila: You know, you should look at yourself. You’re so angry, you’re almost shaking and that’s not good for you.

Taylor: Oh, sheila, don’T. Don’t pretend that you care what’s good for me.

Sheila: But I do. I still want us to be friends.

Taylor: Oh, really? Because you’re trying to send me to prison. It’s not very friendly.

Sheila: It’s a simple understanding. Steffy’s silence for ours. You know, I understand you’re upset and there are a lot of people that are going to be–

Taylor: Upset? Sheila, I– I am disgusted that anyone would allow this.

Sheila: Wait a minute, you can’t blame bill for this because he finally found somebody that– that– that understands him, that’s going to put his needs first?

Taylor: No, no, bill. Come on. You are not this desperate.

Sheila: The heart wants what it wants. Not everyone is gonna understand that.

Taylor: Oh, my god. Are you gonna let her talk for you?

Sheila: Maybe bill is tired of talking, taylor. He finally found a woman that’s willing to step up and look out for him for a change. I will always have his back.

Taylor: Yeah. A murderous psychopath. That’s who you want by your side, bill? She shouldn’t be here right now, she should be in prison.

Sheila: The judge doesn’t think so.

Taylor: The judge was bought. At least, that’s my understanding and I’m pretty sure I’m right. Otherwise, you wouldn’t get away with trying to kill steffy and finn.

Sheila: You know what? We have been through this before. What happened was a terrible accident. I never meant to harm anyone.

Taylor: Yes, you did. Yes, you did. Do you hear her, bill? She’s trying to be the victim.

Sheila: Maybe because I am. I know that you don’t want to believe that. No. You don’t want to believe anything that you and the forresters have put me through. The misunderstandings. The way you have shunned me. You cast me aside. You haven’t even given me a chance. No one’s given me a chance. Until now. Until bill. Kids can change minds…

[ Door banging ]

Finn: It’s open, amelia.

Katie: Finn? Hey.

Finn: Katie? Carter. What are you– you guys heard.

Katie: Yeah.

Carter: A friend from the courthouse tipped me off.

Katie: Is steffy here? I need to know how to handle the press.

Finn: No, she’s not. And um… uh, honestly, she probably doesn’t want to speak to reporters right now. She’s, you know, still in shock.

Katie: Yeah, we all are. How the hell was sheila set free?

Finn: Well, you can thank your ex-husband.

Katie: Bill?

Taylor: Bill, you’re just… you’re going through a crisis right now. That’s what this is. You just– you need someone to talk to and I–

Sheila: Please don’t diagnose him. He’s fine. We both are.

Taylor: No. No, you’re not.

Sheila: Oh, no. Of course. That’s right because it can’t be true. I mean, no one is allowed to appreciate me or to find the good in me or care about me. Until bill.

Taylor: She’s using you.

Sheila: No, you know what? I know why this is difficult for you to understand because this did happen so suddenly. We– we– we know that. But don’t question if this is true because it is. I know how difficult this must be for you because let’s just face it, ridge never put you first. You’ve never had what I have and I really do wish that for you though, taylor. That you find a connection and– and this kind of love.

Taylor: Oh, my god. Shut up, sheila.

Sheila: I love bill and I have never felt this way about any man my entire life.

Taylor: Come on, this isn’t– I– I don’t believe you. I don’t believe this.

Sheila: Why can’t we just get on with our lives, huh? Why can’t we just accept this and both live in– in peace? You accepted me before. You gave me a chance. I think you can find that in your heart to do that again.

Taylor: You know what? I did. I did. I did accept you. I– I believed in you. I really did. And then you put a bullet in my daughter and left her for dead, lied about it and played the victim, so yeah, you’re gonna have to forgive me if your happiness isn’t something I particularly care about. I don’t give a damn about your happiness. I just want to see you behind bars.

Sheila: You know what? That’s the difference between us. Because I don’t wish that for you. I don’t want you to say or do anything that will keep you in prison for the rest of your life. Keep you away from your grandchildren and your children.

Taylor: Bill, what I did to you, in this very room all those years ago, it was awful. It was really awful. But so is blackmailing me and my daughter to keep this pathological criminal on the streets. Look, she says that she has feelings for you, but honestly, I don’t think she’s capable of having feelings, but she can sure manipulate you into feeling sorry for her. I know she did with me. Come on, bill. She has hurt so many people. She has destroyed so many lives. You are smarter than this. I know you are. Stop this. Tell her! Tell her this is all a lie!

Bill: Taylor wants the truth. And I’m sure you do as well.

Sheila: I do.

Bill: The truth is I… thought I knew what it felt like to commit myself and to have the complete and utter devotion of a woman in return, but I was wrong. Meeting you, the time we spent together… I finally know what that’s supposed to feel like. I love you, sheila.

Sheila: You love me? That’s all I ever dreamed of. That’s all I’ve ever wanted. Is to be loved.

Chloe tries to get Sally out of her denial about her pregnancy and tells her that she has to start thinking about what she wants to do. Sally doesn’t want to talk about it choosing instead to focus on the presentation she and Chloe have to give tomorrow. Chloe leaves a bottle of prenatal vitamins on Sally’s bedside table hoping that she will begin to take them. Nick arrives to take Sally to dinner and he asks her if she wants a, spicy martini.

Billy and Chelsea watch a movie, and when Billy falls asleep he has a nightmare that Chelsea jumped off the roof. Billy tells Chelsea about the nightmare and he tells her that he was glad he was able to save her because in a way he feels it made up for him not being able to save Delia

Daniel talks to Lily and tells her exactly what she wants to hear that what she is going through is Billy and Define’s fault she did nothing wrong in either situation.

Cameron has a long talk with Elizabeth, and he finally tells her Josslyn broke up with him. Cameron blames Esme and the sex video for being the reason he and Joss lost their connection to each other. Elizabeth makes Cameron see that it was not just one reason that his relationship with Joss ended.

Sasha and Cody bond over their grief for Brando and Britt.

Michael’s family is there to support him and Willow at the hospital. Terry tells Michael and his family that the baby is healthy, but Willow is in critical but stable condition. Michael tells his family that the donor Willow had was not healthy enough to donate to her. Carly heads over to Nina’s place to tell her she is Willow’s mother and she could be the only person who can save Willow’s life.

After finding Billy sitting on the floor in front of her apartment door, Chelsea has him come inside, where he informs her that his relationship with Lily is over. Beyond that, he doesn’t want to talk specifics, so Chelsea persuades him to watch what she mentions was recently voted the dumbest movie of all time with her. As the movie plays and they’re eating popcorn, they both go from serious to smiling to laughing. Billy falls asleep on her couch so she turns the movie off and puts a blanket over him.

Shortly afterward,  Billy calls out her name in his sleep and wakes up shouting “no” as he suddenly sits up on the couch, startling both himself and Chelsea. Chelsea mentions that he had a nightmare and assures him that whatever it was about is not real.

She picks up on how he had called out her name, followed by an emphatic “no” and realizes that she hadn’t thought much about how what happened on the rooftop affected him. Bill lets her know that very often, he has troubling dreams. This leads him to talk about losing Delia and his fear when he found Chelsea standing on the rooftop wanting to end her life.

He lets her know that losing her would have been horrendous, especially having already lost his daughter. Chelsea says that she feels badly about how Billy is suffering, but he reassures her and tells her that she is a bright spot in his life right now. He adds that the world is a better place with Chelsea in it and she returns the sentiment, letting him know that the world’s a better place with Billy in it, also.

Over in the park, Lily is alone, shivering in the cold and feeling utterly miserable and defeated. Daniel comes by and when he sees her, he asks if she would like some company. Lily says that sounds nice, but she’s weary and just wants peace after the terrible day she’s had. She references her break up with Billy and Devon’s plan to jump ship from Chancellor-Winters and buy back Hamilton-Winters.

She adds that at the rate things are going, she’s concerned that Daniel won’t want to be her friend anymore. He reassures her and tells her that this is nothing to be worried about, he’ll always be her friend. He gives her words of encouragement and at one point she leans her head on his shoulder.

Lily mentions Daniel’s OmegaSphere gaming platform at Chancellor-Winters and how it could be adversely affected by the dissolution of the merger with Hamilton-Winters.  She tells him that she can’t guarantee what will or won’t make it to the next stage, but what she can guarantee is that she will do everything in her power to bring his dream to fruition. She tells him that she thinks he’s going to be a success, not just with OmegaSphere, but with anything he sets his mind to.

At The Glam Club, Noah and Nick are chatting. Noah asks about the status of Nick’s spending time with Sally. Nick tells him that things between them are not serious, that he and Sally are just enjoying each other’s company, and keeping their dating uncomplicated.

Meanwhile, in Sally’s suite, she forges ahead with working on the business pitch for Jill that she and Chloe have tomorrow. Chloe feels differently, telling Sally that they’ve gone over everything, they’re well prepared, and Sally should turn her attention to her pregnancy. Sally snaps at Chloe, shuts her down and says that she does not want to discuss it right now. Chloe counters that the clock is ticking and that soon enough, pregnancy announces itself to the world.

Chloe offers Sally a bottle of prenatal vitamins, just like she had taken when she was expecting Miles. Sally dismises her effort, which results in Chloe urging Sally to make an appointment with an OB/GYN. Sally lets Chloe know that she already had an appointment and the test at the doctor’s office was positive.

Chloe tries to convince Sally to tell Nick that she’s pregnant, but Sally is totally resistant. Chloe wonders aloud how Sally is going to keep blowing things off and explaining things away, such as why she’s no longer drinking alcohol.

Nick arrives to pick Sally up for dinner and drinks, and while he is helping Sally with her coat, Chloe discreetly puts the bottle of prenatal vitamins out on the coffee table.

At Society, Sally mentions that she is very hungry, having not eaten all day, and there’s so many delicious sounding dishes on the menu. Nick tells Sally that he’s glad her appetite has returned and jokes about them ordering one of everything on the menu. When he suggests that they should have drinks and suggests a glass of wine or spicy martini for her, she fakes a smile.

Over at the park, Daniel continues listening to Lily and trying to lift her spirits. After awhile, Lily tells Daniel that she has faith him and in his endeavor. She tells him that she may be  the last one standing at Chancellor-Winters, but if her vote counts for anything, she’s 100% behind him and his project. They gaze at the winter scene in front of them in the park.

Roman sits at the Brady Pub with the urn of Kate’s ashes.

Lucas is in prison with the bottle of whiskey that Orpheus left him. Rex arrives so Lucas quickly hides the bottle in his pocket. Rex hugs Lucas and says it’s good to see him.

Stephanie is crying at home when the doorbell rings and Chad arrives. Chad apologizes for showing up without calling but he just wanted to see how she was doing. Stephanie doesn’t know how to answer that. Chad brings up losing someone you love so suddenly. Stephanie knows that he knows all too well. Chad asks if there’s anything he can do to help. Stephanie says no but she appreciates him asking. Stephanie notes that Steve is taking care of most of the arrangements. Chad says he just wanted to stop by and see if she needed anything and to give her a card from the kids.

Sonny is at the Kiriakis Mansion, texting Will to let him know when he gets in. Alex walks in, so Sonny asks how Justin is doing. Alex responds that he’s pretty broken up about Kayla but Bonnie has been great with him. Sonny can’t believe that Kayla is gone just because some evil bastard wanted to get even or something. Alex says he’s sorry. Sonny mentions feeling so bad for Stephanie, Tripp, and Joey because he knows what it’s like to lose a mother. Sonny adds that he can’t imagine what Steve is going through.

Steve enters Kayla’s empty office at the hospital and approaches her desk with tears in his eyes. Steve sits in her chair and looks at their wedding photo on the desk as he cries.

The prison guard interrupts Rex and Lucas, warning Lucas that he’s on thin ice after what happened with Orpheus. Rex wonders what he’s talking about. Lucas claims it’s nothing but Rex feels it didn’t sound like that. Lucas explains that after Rex told him about Kate, he was really upset and attacked Orpheus. Lucas adds that after Orpheus found out about Kate, he decided to express his sympathy by giving him a bottle of whiskey to ease the pain.

Alex asks Sonny if Will got his flight back. Sonny confirms that he did. Alex says that’s good so he will be there soon. Sonny hopes so, since Will already missed saying goodbye to Kate and they are all hoping Marlena pulls through, but if not, he hopes Will makes it back in time to say goodbye to her. Alex says he gets that. Sonny asks if Stephanie was able to be there with Kayla to say goodbye. Alex admits that she did not.

Stephanie tells Chad that the card was so sweet of the kids. Chad tells her that he explained to them last night that Kayla went to Heaven, so they wanted to make it for her. Stephanie reads the card where Thomas suggested they could read books together and Charlotte related to missing her mom. Chad hugs Stephanie as she starts to cry.

Steve cries that this still doesn’t seem real to him and talks about Kayla fighting the virus. Steve really thought Kayla would beat it. Steve talks about waking up this morning and expecting her to be next to him. Steve cries that even now he still expects her to walk through the door. The door to the office then opens.

Rex questions why the hell Orpheus would give whiskey to Lucas. Lucas says he’s trying to get him to fall off the wagon but he didn’t touch it or even open it. Rex asks why he doesn’t just get rid of it then. Lucas complains that it sucks in here, so he is tempted. Rex says he can only imagine. Lucas promises he won’t let Orpheus win and will try to stay strong. Rex urges him to do it for Kate. Rex asks Lucas to give him the bottle, pointing out that it’s the last thing that Kate would want.

Abe and Paulina go to the Brady Pub. Paulina hugs Roman and tells him that their hearts go out to him on the terrible tragedy. Abe hugs him and says he’s so sorry. Paulina asks how they can help. Abe adds that they’ll do whatever he needs. Roman appreciates the offer, but says Steve is taking care of Kayla’s arrangements and Kate didn’t want a funeral. Paulina asks what she wanted then, so Roman shows her the urn.

Jada enters Kayla’s office and tells Steve that she’s sorry for not knocking but Steve invites her in. Jada hopes she’s not bothering him, but Stephanie told her that he was at the hospital. Steve says he had to come sign papers so they could release Kayla’s body to the funeral home and he just wandered in to her office. Jada had a feeling this is where she would find him. Steve says all her things are just the way she left them. Steve points out Kayla’s reading glasses, her water bottle, and a vase that Stephanie made for her. Steve cries about Kayla doing everything she could to send her patients home to their families, so they wouldn’t have to go through this. Jada hugs Steve as he cries.

Stephanie tells Chad that she’s sorry as he doesn’t need to see her falling apart after everything he’s been through. Chad responds that what he needs to do is be here for her, helping her and comforting her if he can. Chad says it would help his heart. Stephanie says he’s being very kind. Chad tells Stephanie that her mom was a wonderful woman who lifted his spirits. Chad says he and Abigail loved her, like everyone did. Stephanie assures that Kayla loved Abigail, Chad, and their kids too. Stephanie states that the hardest part about it is that she didn’t get to say goodbye to Kayla. Stephanie complains that Joey and Tripp got to talk to Kayla on the phone from Seattle while she was less than five minutes from the hospital and didn’t get to. Stephanie wishes she would’ve gotten to the hospital sooner to tell Kayla how much she loved her. Chad assures that Kayla knew. Stephanie can’t believe she missed Chad’s messages and calls.

Alex informs Sonny that Stephanie came over last night and they slept together for the first time, then Chad showed up and told her that her mother was dying. Alex declares that it’s his fault that she didn’t get there in time. Sonny encourages that there’s a million reasons that Chad couldn’t reach her as she could’ve been doing anything else, so he can’t blame himself because he was making love. Alex responds that is not why he blames himself. Sonny asks why else. Alex then reveals that Chad was trying to reach Stephanie, but he turned her phone off.

Chad tells Stephanie that he’s so sorry that she didn’t get his calls. Chad says when she didn’t answer her phone, he did everything he could to find her and checked the Bistro then took a gamble in going to Alex’s house. Stephanie says it’s driving her crazy that Chad tried to call her multiple times and she never even heard the phone ring. Chad guesses she must have just turned it off. Stephanie calls that the only possible explanation but she doesn’t remember doing that.

Sonny questions Alex turning Stephanie’s phone off. Alex says he didn’t know Chad was calling to tell Stephanie that her mom was dying. Alex explains that he didn’t want Chad to interrupt them again since it happened on Christmas where he and Stephanie were about to make love but Chad showed up feeling upset, so Stephanie felt bad for him and let him stay. Sonny sees why that could be frustrating. Alex argues that it was supposed to be a romantic evening but it turned in to the three of them playing video games. Alex complains that Chad is a third wheel. Sonny tells Alex to cut Chad a break since he just lost his wife and probably doesn’t want to be alone. Alex says he feels for Chad but this is getting ridiculous. Alex brings up having a meeting scheduled with Stephanie yesterday, but instead she goes ice skating with Chad and the kids. Alex complains that it’s like every time he turns around, Chad is there. Alex admits that he saw Chad calling and turned her phone off without her knowing. Alex says he thought maybe it was just the kids calling to say goodnight and that it was harmless and she could just call back, but he had no idea that she wouldn’t be able to say goodbye to her mom.

Steve apologizes to Jada while Jada says she’s the one who should be sorry as she didn’t mean to intrude. Jada offers to come back later but Steve assures that it’s fine and he’s good now. Steve asks what Jada’s got. Jada says unfortunately not much at the moment, but if Kristen is telling the truth, they are going to track down whoever stole the Orchid. Jada says Rafe’s team is searching every inch of the secret room in the DiMera Mansion. Steve hopes they find it as it may be too late for Kayla and Kate, but he sure hopes Marlena can be spared.

Roman explains to Abe and Paulina that Kate wished to be cremated, so it’s comforting to have her urn this close to him. Roman talks about thinking it was strange how Anna carried around what she thought was Tony’s ashes but he kind of gets it now. Roman adds that it is comforting but he’s just numb right now as it doesn’t feel real. Roman guesses that’s being in denial. Paulina understands losing his wife and sister is too much. Roman agrees that it’s way too much as Paulina hugs him.

Lucas gives the whiskey bottle to Rex and thanks him for saving him from himself. Rex says he’s his brother and they have to be there for each other, especially now. Lucas asks if he told Billie and Austin yet. Rex says he talked to Austin yesterday and he’s trying to get in touch with Billie, who is on assignment. Rex adds that he spoke with Cassie so everybody knows. Lucas responds that it’s not everybody as he still has to tell Philip. Rex brings up that Philip has been missing for a year and he didn’t want to believe it, but he assumed that he died. Lucas then reveals that their brother Philip is very much alive. Rex is shocked to learn that Philip is in a mental institution and asks how he knows this. Lucas reveals that Philip framed Brady for stabbing him as he was in a complete jealous rage over Chloe and had a breakdown and if he was found out, he’d probably be in prison with him. Rex questions if Kate was okay with this. Lucas explains that Kate didn’t think Philip could handle prison so she and Victor had him sent away somewhere where he could hopefully get better. Lucas adds that Kate wanted to do the same thing for him, but he wouldn’t let her. Rex admits it doesn’t surprise him and jokes that it’s vintage mom. Lucas agrees that even when the chips were down, Kate was always looking out for her kids.

Paulina tells Roman that Kate and Kayla were such wonderful women. Paulina says she didn’t know Kayla well but she always made her feel welcome in Salem. Paulina adds that Kate was direct and honest which is why they ended up with a really good connection because they had a lot in common. Paulina says talking to Kate felt like a kindred spirit and she was lucky to know her.

Jada recalls when she was a kid, her father would speak very highly of Kayla and say how lucky Steve was to have found her. Steve says Marcus sure was right about that. Jada says living in Salem allowed her to see how amazing Kayla was. Steve states that Kayla gave her all to her friends, family, and her patients. Steve says he and the kids were the lucky ones because they had Kayla’s love. Jada encourages that Kayla will live on through their kids and her love will always stay with him in his heart.

Chad questions Stephanie not remembering turning off her phone. Stephanie confirms she doesn’t, but she knows it was off because this morning, she went to check her e-mails and had to turn it back on. Stephanie guesses she must have turned it off when she was with Alex. Chad suggests maybe she didn’t want to be disturbed. Stephanie remembers being in Alex’s room and going to the bathroom to change. Chad says that’s probably when she did it. Stephanie insists that she doesn’t remember doing it.

Alex tells Sonny that if he could go back in time, he would give anything to not have turned Stephanie’s phone off. Alex says as soon as Chad got there, they raced to the hospital but they were too late. Alex laments that if they just got there sooner, Stephanie would’ve been able to say goodbye but instead, she’s beating herself up for not having her chance. Sonny asks what Alex is going to do. Alex doesn’t think there’s anything he can do as he obviously can’t fix this. Sonny responds that he can’t, but he could tell Stephanie the truth and come clean about what really happened.

Paulina goes to fix her makeup. Roman tells Abe that he married a really good woman and he appreciates all the good things Paulina said about Kate and Kayla. Abe assures that she meant every word as she was fond of both of them. Abe brings up how close he was to Kate and Kayla. Abe says he loved Kayla almost like his own sister. Abe admits he and Kate had their issues over the years, but they ended up being very good friends. Abe jokes that Kate did drive him crazy sometimes but that’s because she was a force to be reckoned with. Abe notes that when Kate wanted something, she made sure she got it as he hugs Roman.

Lucas tells Rex that he has to go to the sanitarium to tell Philip what happened. Rex asks where he is. Lucas informs him that Roman can give him all the details. Rex questions Roman knowing about this too. Lucas explains that Kate wasn’t going to lie to Roman, so she told him everything. Lucas assures that Roman will be able to point him in the right direction. Rex agrees to go. Lucas thanks him and knows he’ll break the news gently. Rex says he doesn’t want to make Philip’s life any worse or more difficult than it already is. Rex declares that now that Kate is gone, the siblings have to stick together.

Chad understands why Stephanie can’t stop replaying what happened last night and trying to figure out why she didn’t get the messages. Chad mentions that Marlena told him that thinking you could change the outcome is just a way to feel like you still have control. Chad relates to when Abigail died and how he kept thinking if he didn’t take the kids to the movies or if they just went to Boston that night, things would be different. Chad says it took a long time for him to realize it wasn’t his fault as there was no way to know what was going to happen. Stephanie is sorry to keep harping on this but says she hardly ever turns her phone off, so for it to be off just when she needed it the most. Chad is sorry that it’s making this so much harder for her. Stephanie mentions that when she saw Chad called, she just wanted to turn back time and answer the call, so she would’ve run to the hospital to see Kayla and held her in her arms. Stephanie breaks down crying as Chad hugs her.

Alex tells Sonny that he can’t tell Stephanie the truth or she’ll hate him and it won’t change anything. Sonny argues that it can’t change last night but it can change what happens going forward. Sonny questions if he really wants to start their relationship with this huge secret hanging over his head. Alex argues that the whole point is that they just started, so if he tells her this, they are done. Sonny questions what kind of relationship they will have if he doesn’t tell her. Sonny asks if Alex is comfortable lying to Stephanie about something this important.

Jada goes to the Brady Pub and picks up her lunch order from Roman. Jada notes that she didn’t come just for lunch. Jada says she hasn’t had a moment to tell him how sorry she is about Kayla and Kate. Roman thanks her and says that means a lot. Jada knows it goes without saying how she felt about Kayla, but she wanted him to know how kind Kate was to her. Roman knows Kate liked her a lot and says she was a good person to have in her corner. Roman adds that he sure was lucky to have her in his.

The prison guard informs Rex that visiting hours are over. Lucas thanks Rex for coming and for everything. Rex tells Lucas to take care of himself for the sake of everyone who cares about him, including him. Rex then goes to the prison guard and warns him to tell Orpheus to stop pushing booze on his brother, or he will go to the warden and have him fired. Rex looks back to Lucas and declares that Kate Roberts’ kids stick together. Rex then exits the prison.

Abe joins Steve in Kayla’s office. Abe mentions running in to Jada at the Pub, who told him where he could find Steve. Steve appreciates Abe checking up on him, but claims he’s fine and just had to come make some arrangements. Abe asks if he can help with anything. Steve says he can handle it but thanks him. Abe knows Steve knows that Kayla was one of his closest friends and he was far from the only one. Abe tells Steve that Kayla touched so many lives and they want to do what would make her happy. Abe declares that right now, that means looking after Steve. Abe hugs Steve as he cries and thanks him.

Stephanie thanks Chad for coming by and saying all the right things. Chad tells her that he’s around if she wants to talk. Stephanie thanks him and says she appreciates that. Stephanie thanks the kids for her card and says she loves it. Chad tells her that the kids are crazy about her. Chad tells her not to hesitate to call him anytime and he’ll be there. Stephanie thanks him again. Chad then exits the house.

Alex tells Sonny that he’s not comfortable lying to Stephanie and he wasn’t trying to hurt her, but he just made a mistake. Sonny argues that this mistake is eating him up inside and the longer he waits, the more it’s going to hurt. Sonny asks what if Stephanie figures the truth out on her own. Alex questions how she would figure that out. Sonny doesn’t know but says it’s sure as hell possible and then she will know that he didn’t just turn off her phone, but he lied about it too. Sonny suggests it would be better if she just found out the truth from him.

Steve breaks down crying at Kayla’s desk.

Rex goes to the Brady Pub and tells Roman that he just came from seeing Lucas. Roman asks how he’s holding up. Rex says that Lucas is holding up the best he can and he also told him about Philip. Roman apologizes for not being the one to tell him. Rex understands that he was doing what’s best for him. Rex adds that Lucas wants him to go to the sanitarium to tell Philip about Kate. Roman agrees that he should. Rex asks if he’s sure as he doesn’t want to leave him alone. Roman appreciates his concern but he wants him to go. Roman says that Philip needs to know what happened and Rex is the best person to tell him. Roman adds that it’s what Kate would’ve wanted as they hug.

Chad walks through the town square and runs in to Sonny. Sonny tells Chad that he’s sorry about Kate. Chad thanks him and responds that he’s sorry about his aunt Kayla. Chad mentions just seeing Stephanie. Sonny asks how she’s doing. Chad says she’s in a lot of grief, obsessing over not getting his call last night which is why she didn’t get to say goodbye to her last night. Sonny says that’s got to be tough for her. Chad notes that she’s in a lot of pain and beating herself up for turning off her phone…

Stephanie sits down at home and thinks back to when she went to the bathroom to freshen up before being with Alex. Alex then shows up at her door and says he just stopped by to check on her as he hugs her. Stephanie says she’s glad because there is something she has to ask him. Stephanie then asks Alex if he turned her phone off when she went to the bathroom to change.

Chelsea: Billy?

Billy: Hey.

Chelsea: Are you okay?

Billy: Yeah. I’m fine.

Chelsea: Come inside. Come inside.

Chelsea: What’s wrong? Is it lily? Billy. What happened?

Billy: It’s over.

Daniel: Lily. Whoa. Sorry. I didn’t mean to startle you.

Lily: No, it’s fine.

Daniel: Oh, man. Still beautiful, huh? You know, when I lived in genoa city before, I used to come up here all the time. It’s one of my favorite spots in the city. It always gave me that inspiration that I needed. I was just working on omega sphere, and, well, i needed a little creative stimulation, so [Sniffs] Let’s hope this does the trick. Hmm? [ Chuckles ] Opens up those floodgates, gets the creative juices flowing again. I’m really glad they haven’t turned this place into condos yet.

[ Chuckles ] Hey. What’s going on? Do you, uh — do you want to be left alone? Or maybe you’d like some company?

Nick: Son, when are we gonna start meeting someplace a little more happening? Clearly, this place isn’t taking off the way you’d hoped.

Noah: Alright, well, maybe not for a happening guy like you, but I seem to be satisfying all my other patrons. You know, besides, this place is my life now. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Nick: I’m as content as you are.

Noah: Okay, I’m gonna ask you something. Fair warning — you might not want to answer it right now.

Nick: [ Laughs ] Well, now I’m curious. What’s up?

Noah: This whole sally thing. I’m interested to know how serious it is.

Sally: Look at page 3. I think our organization chart needs a little streamlining. Chloe? What do you think?

Chloe: Um…you know, we’ve been at this for hours, going over and over every detail. I think we’ve got it all covered.

Chloe: But what I have to know is — how are you feeling?

Sally: I feel great. Why?

Chloe: Okay, I — I don’t want to push, but the clock is ticking. You need to start making some decisions.

Sally: What are you talking about? I’ve been making tons of decisions, like what kind of charts and graphics should be added to our pitch document and how to sharpen our opening statement, how far to push the budget. I’m focused on, you know, getting our presentation ready for jill tomorrow.

Chloe: Okay, sally, there is, like, a huge elephant in the room, and I’m not going to let you ignore it another second. I’m not playing this denial game with you. You know exactly what I’m asking. You need to start making decisions about your pregnancy.

Sally: Chloe, this is hardly the time to be discussing that.

Chloe: Okay. If not now, when?

Sally: I don’t know. Sometime after the pitch. We’ve got to get prepared for tomorrow.

Chloe: I’m not playing this avoidance game with you. I was here with you when you took the pregnancy test. I know it was positive.

Sally: Okay, but what do you expect me to do about that right now? Tomorrow we have one of the biggest presentations of our professional careers, and we cannot afford to blow it. And one positive at-home pregnancy test is not gonna change that.

Chloe: I disagree. This pregnancy could change everything. And you may want to pretend like it isn’t happening, but I know for a fact that it is. So…that’s why I brought these. They’re prenatal vitamins. I took them when I was pregnant with miles, and I think you should start doing the same.

Chelsea: Tell me what happened. Do you want to talk about it?

Billy: No, I don’t, really, not right now. I mean, I’ll tell you at some point, just not right now.

Chelsea: Okay. Yeah, I understand. I get it.

[ Sighs ] For the record, I’m really sorry, especially if I had anything to do with what happened between you and lily.

Billy: Chelsea, this is 100% on me.

Chelsea: You know, sometimes things don’t work out. Sometimes it’s — it’s not anybody’s fault and — you know what? You said you don’t want to talk about it, so I’m gonna stop.

Billy: Yeah, can I just — can I just sit here for a minute?

Chelsea: Yeah. We can just sit. Or — or what’s better than sitting? Movie time.

Billy: [ Chuckles ] Don’t think I’m up for that right now.

Chelsea: Well, I think you could use a little escapism right now and, um — and maybe a snack. You know, popcorn, soda, candy, a little sweet, little salty.

Billy: I think you should probably save that for connor.

Chelsea: It looks like you need it a lot more than connor right now. Plus — plus, I have the perfect film we could watch. It was recently voted the dumbest movie of all time. I figure we can be the judge of that.

Billy: Yeah. Sure. Let’s do that.

Lily: Yeah, company is nice, but I just feel a little talked out at this point.

Daniel: Yeah. Look, that’s cool. I mean, I get it. If you want silence, that’s exactly what I’ll be — silent company.

Lily: I just feel like today has been the longest day of my life. I feel like my whole world has been turned upside down. I spoke with billy about how our relationship is over… talked to devon about how he wants to dissolve our chancellor-winters partnership. And I have no idea how that’s gonna affect our relationship going forward. So, yeah, I think silence is good because I’m at a point right now where I feel like if you and I keep talking, you’re gonna tell me that you don’t want to be my friend anymore. I just feel like everything in my life has fallen apart at once. Vegas heat?

Sally: Look, put those away, chloe. I don’t need them, alright?

Chloe: Based on what I know, you do.

Sally: [ Sighs ]

Chloe: Unless you think you got a false positive or — did you get your period or something?

Sally: Oh, my god. Really, chloe? Why is my menstrual cycle a topic of discussion right now? We have so much on our plate of much more immediate importance. Can we just focus on that?

Chloe: Okay. You know, you can play this however you want to play it, but things are going to get real serious real fast, and you need to start making some plans, starting with taking some supplements. Unless you don’t trust the home test, and in that case, you should make an appointment with your ob-gyn and get an official one.

Sally: I already went, okay? It was positive.

[ Keys clacking ]

Chloe: [ Sighs ] Sally. Sally, this is happening. You can’t avoid it.

Sally: I just can’t handle facing all of this right now, okay?

Chloe: I know that this is a really scary time. It’s a scary time, and it’s something that you might not want to face, but no one ever said that you have to do it alone. Okay. I’m here. I’m here to support you. I have been through this before. I will be there for you every step of the way. And you have the baby’s father’s support, too, right?

Nick: How serious is the sally thing? I don’t know, man. How serious is the allie thing?

Noah: She’s amazing. We love spending time together. We support one another, and i appreciate her more and more every day.

Nick: Same.

Noah: Ah, it’s just — it’s that type of love I could really be grateful for, especially after all the audra stuff. Every day I wake up and I am excited to nourish our relationship and watch it grow.

Nick: [ Chuckles ] You sound like a self-help guru.

Noah: What can I say? It’s special. She offers support and stability, consistency. It’s just — it’s really nice.

Nick: Well, I am happy for you. I remember the feeling of that kind of love. Sally and I are not in that place. At least, not yet. But cheers to you for truly having it all.

Daniel: Is it okay if I speak now?

Lily: [ Sighs ]

[ Sniffles ] Yeah, it’s fine. As long as you don’t say something like, “what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger,” or, “it’s the darkest before the dawn.” I just can’t really handle generic platitudes right now.

Daniel: [ Exhales sharply ] Look…I promise I had no intentions of saying any of those things. But you know what I will say? I will say that you never have to worry about me telling you that we’re no longer gonna be friends. You’re not gonna get rid of me that easily.

Lily: [ Chuckles ] Thanks. I needed to hear that.

Daniel: What’s happening with you — it sucks. It really, really sucks. It’s not fair, and you deserve so much more, so much better, especially from the people who claim to be in your corner.

Lily: [ Scoffs, sniffles ] Yeah, I don’t really know what i deserve. I mean, I’m dealing with the consequences of my own actions, right? Like, I chose to be with billy. I chose to partner with devon. And now I’ve failed in both my personal and professional lives.

Daniel: No. No. No, see, I’m not gonna let you go there. None of this is your fault. You didn’t fail. I — I mean, if anything, you chose to see the best in billy. You know, you were willing to believe that he was capable of this level of growth and maturity that he himself was trying to achieve.

Lily: And I was wrong.

Daniel: You’re an amazing businesswoman. It was an incredible idea to merge your company with devon’S. You didn’t do anything wrong. It’s not your fault if other people can’t see the bigger, better picture.

Lily: [ Sighs ] It’s just so frustrating that i can’t fix this. ‘Cause, like, that’s who I am. Like, there’s a problem, and then I want to find a solution and fix it, you know? It’s like I — it’s like I want to have control or something. And it’s an illusion because in reality, I don’t have control over anything.

Billy: Ohh.

[ Both chuckle ]

[ Both laughing ] Kids can change minds…

Noah: Not yet love with sally or not ever?

Nick: [ Chuckles ] Look, I know you’re not a fan of my involvement with her, but we enjoy each other’s company. That’s where we’re at. We’re happy. Neither one of us feels the need to push her to find this any faster than we’re ready, okay?

Noah: Okay. Okay. I get it.

Nick: Good. Because sally and I are in complete agreement. We’re not gonna make this any more complicated than it needs to be.

Noah: For now. But you know as well as anyone that things can change in the blink of an eye, whether you want them to or not.

Nick: Oh, well, thank you for your sage wisdom, old man, but i think I know a little bit more about complicated relationships than you do. And, trust me, this is not one of them.

Sally: Nick and I have been very clear about taking things slow. I mean, we’re not even in a serious relationship yet.

Chloe: Well, for two people who aren’t in a serious relationship, you sure do spend a lot of time together.

Sally: Regardless of how it may seem to everyone else, nick and I have been very clear with each other. And, trust me, my being pregnant is definitely not in the plan. And the last thing that I want is for nick to feel like I’m trying to trap him into anything by springing this on him.

Chloe: I know nick. I don’t think that he would react that way. He loves being a father. He’s been through this before. He knows that things can sometimes happen. And I bet if you just sit down with him and tell him the truth, he will want to figure this out as a team.

Sally: No. I’m not ready yet. I’m sorry. I need more time.

Chloe: Sally… you don’t have time. Pregnancies don’t work that way. And if you wait too long, they’ll tell the world for you.

Daniel: You know, I know what it’s like to feel powerless. I mean, come on. I lived it. And what I’ve come to realize — control is an illusion. You know, you can’t control other people. The only thing you can control is you and your response to all the things that are happening around you.

Lily: I know. I mean, I keep telling myself that I’ve gotten through worse, but [Sighs] It doesn’t make me feel any better. I still feel horrible.

Daniel: Well, I promise you, you’re gonna feel less horrible as time passes. Look, you’re gonna start to recognize the other things in life that bring you joy, or at least contentment, you know? And inevitably things will get better, even if it doesn’t seem that way right now.

Lily: Is that what happened to you when heather left?

Daniel: Hardly.

[ Chuckles ] Yeah, no. I, uh… well, I crashed and burned, and, you know, I was wallowing in my own self-pity and misery. First I tanked my career, then my relationship. You know, if you want a checklist of what not to do, I’m your guy. I got you covered.

Lily: Well, how long is your list? ‘Cause I may have checked off a few of those items already.

Daniel: I doubt it. You’re just in stage one, you know, the — the hurt.

[ Chuckles ] I was punishing heather and lucy for all the things that i thought had gone wrong in my life or weren’t going the way that they were supposed to, even though none of it had anything to do with either of them. Instead of focusing on the joy of my family, I — I chose to lean into the misery and i dragged them down into it with me. Ultimately, I drove them away.

Billy: Chelsea. No!

Chelsea: Billy. Billy, y-you were having a nightmare. I — whatever it was about, though, it’s over now.

Billy: Yeah, no, I’m — I’m not sure what that was.

Chelsea: That night was the most horrible experience of my life. And we’ve talked about that. But we never discussed what it was like for you.

Billy: It doesn’t matter how I’m feeling. It’s — it’s about you. You’re the one that’s healing.

Chelsea: That’s not true. That’s not true. We’re all on the mend. Life is hard for all of us. So, even if your feelings don’t matter to other people, they matter to me.

Billy: Well, thank you for saying that, but I don’t want to burden you with my emotional baggage. You got enough going on.

Chelsea: To be honest with you, at first, I didn’t think about it. I was so caught up in my own situation, it never occurred to me what you had to go through. But then when I could finally think straight, it hit me. And I was too afraid to bring it up to you. But now it’s out in the open, and I want you to be able to talk to me about it because the only burden I’ve been feeling lately, honestly, is not knowing how this has affected you. We’re the only two people in the world who really know what happened on the rooftop that night. So, please…talk to me.

Lily: I’m really sorry. I can only imagine what a wake-up call it was when heather and lucy left.

Daniel: No. No, not at first, anyway.

[ Chuckles ] I mean, don’t forget I’m your poster child for the checklist of what not to do, remember? No, no, no, I-I — I went a little crazy, found myself in my own little self-destruct binge. I was on it for a while, too.

Lily: I think you’re being too hard on yourself.

Daniel: Nope, I’m not. Trust me. But you know what? Now I’m on a mission to try and make things better in my life. Maybe one day better for my daughter’s life, too. Look, lily, you’re — you’re already a good person, you know?

Lily: Yeah.

Daniel: You are. You’re strong. You’re kind. You’re fair.

Lily: [ Sighs ]

Daniel: You didn’t let anyone down. Billy failed you. And devon — you know, by choosing to dissolve your chancellor-winters partnership, he failed everyone.

Sally: [ Sighs heavily ] Look, please, chloe, can we just table this whole baby discussion for right now, okay? Nothing needs to be figured out right this second. And I think we’re about as prepared as we can be for our presentation tomorrow, so maybe we should just call it a night.

Chloe: Oh, um…okay, you don’t want to work on our statement a little bit more?

Sally: I know that we said we needed to prepare more, but i changed my mind. I think we’re good. You know, we want it to be spontaneous. We don’t want it to seem rehearsed. And besides, nick is gonna come down from the club and we’re gonna go do dinner and drinks.

Chloe: How are you going to explain to nick that you’re suddenly on the wagon and that you can’t have a drop of alcohol enter your system?

Sally: I-I… I’m just gonna remind him that I’ve had an upset stomach.

Chloe: Okay. You’re still dodging reality. You’re still in denial. You know that that excuse is only going to work for a short while. Soon you have to face the facts.

Lily: What do you mean that devon failed everyone?

Daniel: Well, you know, it’s obvious how he failed you. I mean, he was supposed to be committed to family and building something together, but, you know, by choosing to walk away from your partnership, he not only let you down. He failed himself.

Lily: How do you figure that?

Daniel: Imagine how much better he could be with you by his side. You know, with your business acumen [Chuckles] — Think about it — the two of you, you could rule the world. Devon failed himself more than he could have ever failed you. And now — now he won’t have your brilliant mind working side by side with him.

Lily: Well, I do appreciate your high opinion of me. But with everything in flux at chancellor-winters, I still feel like the biggest loser. And, look, I — I really hope that things work out. But I can’t really make any guarantees as to what will or won’t make it through to the next stage.

Sally: Enough, chloe. Really, okay? I’ll figure something out. I’ve got this.

[ Knock on door ]

Nick: Hey.

Sally: Hi.

Nick: Hey, chloe. I didn’t know you were here. Am I interrupting something? Do you guys want me to wait out in the hallway while you finish working whatever it is you’re working on?

Sally: No. We’ve just been working on our pitch all day, so I’m sure chloe’s just tired.

Nick: Oh, that’s right. That is tomorrow. I’m sure you want to get some rest. So, if you want a rain check, that’s okay.

Sally: No way. I need some time to unwind, and you are just the person I want to do it with.

Nick: How about you, chloe? You got to be starving after all your hard work. Do you want to come and join us?

Chloe: I would love to, but i really got to get back to the kids.

Nick: Okay.

Sally: Alright. Well, it is settled then. But you’re right. I’m starving. So, let’s go.

Nick: Let me help you with that.

Sally: Thank you.

Billy: [ Sighs ] When I walked out onto that rooftop and I saw you… standing up on the ledge… I mean, I just — I froze. You were just staring off into the oblivion, and you weren’t taking in the skyline. And from that moment on, everything was instinct, trying to say the right thing, anticipating your moves.

Chelsea: I’m so sorry. That must’ve been terrifying.

Billy: Well, I definitely felt fear. Felt a lot of guilt.

Chelsea: Wh-why would you feel guilt?

Billy: ‘Cause I’m the one that showed you that spot…

Chelsea: [ Sighs ]

Billy: …As a place to, you know, release your negative thoughts. I never in a million years thought that you’d be back up there to… but there you were. And if I hadn’t said the right things, if I didn’t make the right moves, it was gonna happen all over again.

Chelsea: What do you mean, again?

Billy: [ Breathes deeply ] Delia. And I wasn’t able to save my daughter and…

Chelsea: [ Sighs ] I — i never — I never made that connection.

Billy: [ Sighs ] You know, in a way, this has been like a do-over, you know? It’s like I had an opportunity to — to do the right thing or to screw up and to live with another horrific loss that would stay with me for the rest of my life.

Chelsea: [ Voice breaking ] I’m so sorry. Even in that moment, that would be the last thing I would ever want.

Billy: I know. I know that. And fortunately, it was different, okay?

Chelsea: [ Sniffles ]

Billy: I was able to get you off the ledge, and I was able to persuade you to not give up. But still…the what-ifs — they’re still with me. And I dream almost every night i don’t get there in time and I — I don’t say the right things.

[ Voice breaking ] And it’s like it —

[ Breathes deeply ] It plays out in slow motion. And it’s like my heart is just wrapped in a fist.

Chelsea: [ Breathes deeply ] When you’re through with powering through,

Sally: [ Sighs ] I don’t know how I’m gonna decide. All these specials look amazing. I just realized I have been so busy that I haven’t eaten all day. I guess I did not realize how hungry I actually was until i saw all these delicious things on the menu. I don’t want to hear any comments or complaints about how much I’m about to order.

Nick: I wouldn’t dream of it. I’m just glad your stomach’s feeling better and you got your appetite back. So, get whatever you want. In fact, why don’t you order one of everything?

Sally: Well, I might take you up on that.

Nick: Let’s do it. But first, let’s get some drinks so we can toast your inevitable success. What do you feel like? How about a glass of wine? Or maybe a spicy martini?

Chelsea: I knew what happened had an effect on you, but i never imagined it was so strong.

Billy: I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have said anything to you.

Chelsea: No. You had to. You had to tell me this. My actions put you in a horrible position, billy, because you were just there because you cared. I hate that you had to witness that.

Billy: Well, I don’T. Look, whether I made it there on time or not, if I would have lost you, the pain would still be the same, chelsea. We’ve known each other for a long time. We’ve been through a lot. And here we are.

Chelsea: Standing strong.

Billy: And the world is a better place with you in it. It’s more interesting. It’s a lot more fun. It’s deep, and it’s — it’s real. And you are a bright spot in my day right now, and I wouldn’t change that for anything. You understand?

Chelsea: I do. And for the record, the world is a lot better with you in it, too.

Daniel: Penny for your thoughts?

Lily: [ Chuckles ] No, thanks to you, I do feel a little bit better. I mean, I know I’ve been through worse than this, you know? And I have always come out stronger for it on the other side.

Daniel: Ooh. That is starting to sound an awful lot like “darkest before the dawn” talk.

Lily: [ Chuckles ]

Daniel: Should I, um, get out my book of clichés? You know, I do carry one with me at all times, you know, for special occasions such as this.

Lily: Ha, ha.

Daniel: [ Laughs ]

Lily: Thanks for being such a good friend and helping me process another one of life’s struggles.

Daniel: That’s what friends are for.

Lily: [ Laughs ]

Daniel: Come on. Allow me at least one cliché. You had one!

Lily: Okay, fine, fine. Just one. Just one.

Daniel: Good.

Lily: I want you to know that I think you’re gonna be a success. And not just with omega sphere, but with anything that you set your mind to. And, look, I can’t guarantee what the future will hold at chancellor-winters, but what i can guarantee is that I will do everything in my power to bring your dream to fruition.

Daniel: Thank you. That’s all I could possibly ask for.

Lily: And I really hope heather and lucy notice ’cause i know that’s why you’re doing this — to show them how much you love them and want to fix things.

Daniel: [ Chuckles ] You really do know me, don’t you?

Lily: You’re doing something special, and I hope they see that.

Daniel: Me too. I do have my doubts, though.

Lily: Look, it’s fine. You got off track. But I have faith in you and in your endeavor. And, you know [Scoffs] I may be the last one standing at chancellor-winters, but if my vote counts for anything, I am 100% behind you and your project.

Daniel: [ Breathes deeply ] Well, I guess we can’t fail, can we?

The only thing nina said was that willow collapsed. So what happened? It’s okay, michael. It’s not a secret anymore. I told carly about the leukemia. And sonny told me. Wait, sonny? H-how’d he know? Well, we don’t know the details, but from what we can tell… …willow’s leukemia is in stage iv. I’m fine, mom. Really. Well, my mother’s instincts are telling me differently. Okay, maybe I’m not fine, but there’s nothing that you can do about it. There’s nothing that anyone can do. Well, then, just talk to me. Whatever it is, we can figure it out. Josslyn broke up with me.

[ Sighs ] I am so sorry. And it is all esme’s fault. Her plan to send trina to jail failed, but she certainly succeeded at ruining my life. We never got back to where we were before that video was posted. Everywhere we went, it was like people were just staring at us, talking behind our backs, laughing at us. I mean, eventually, it all died down, but that — the feeling between us, it stayed between me and joss. Is that what she said? Still no word from chase? No, nothing since he texted that they were at the gatehouse and michel and willow went to the hospital.

[ Sighs ] I hope that willow and the baby are gonna be okay. I’m sure everything will work out. Um, where do you think ned would keep the good wine? Besides, you said they found a match for a bone — you still have to tell her! I know that, okay? I know that. I’m just not gonna do it right now. It’s not the right time. You’re a naturalat this — this type of work. I hope so. I taught it long enough. Nice to know I can actually put some of the skills I teach into practice. Why have you always taught journalism and not gone out into the field? I mean, your wife was a journalist.

[ Sighs ] It’s just the path I took. I felt the adrenaline rush a couple times helping jackie with her stories, but we were raising chase, and one of us had to have a more grounded job. Right, but that was the past. You’re certainly not raising chase now. Have you thought about giving up the lecture hall and then becoming a reporter? Does it sound exciting? Of course. But I think boots-to-the-ground reporting is more a young person’s job. These days, I’m better suited to watching from the sidelines. I think that’s bull. I do. I-I think you’re being self-deprecating, and I’m not sure you really believe that. And you’re talking to someone who found a second act. I mean, didn’t have any choice. I blew up my first act, and that’s a whole other story.

[ Chuckling ] Point taken. I mean, if you want to teach, teach, but if you want a change, go for it. Go for the second act, third act. You can go for as many acts as you want. I’m just trying to say that I-I think you’re really good at this, and I would hate to see you write off possibilities for your future without ever having gone there. And we’re gonna keep monitoring her, along with working with dr. Randolph on willow’s treatment. Josslyn: And willow? Willow is critical but in stable condition. I’m going to look into some clinical trials for her, but we’re running out of options. I wish I had better news.

[ Cellphone beeping ] Excuse me. I know that you’re only focused on willow right now, but I’m — I’m here if you need anything or if she needs anything, okay? Willow and the baby are gonna be alright. We have to believe that. Why is terry looking into clinical trials? I thought willow already had a match for a bone-marrow donor. She, uh… she did. We found out at her last appointment that the donor is not healthy enough to go through with the transplant.

So, you lost your baby, you were entered into a guardianship, and then you lost your husband. Man, I thought

i had some problems. Sorry. That — that — was that insensitive? Pretty much. But also weirdly refreshing. I’ve gotten so used to people treating me with kid gloves. It’s kind of nice to know that I won’t fall apart if someone says something off. I don’t know. You look pretty tough to me. I’m guessing you don’t watch the home & heart shopping network. I have never heard of it. I went on it to plug products for deception, but they spontaneously tried to add me to the next segment about a papoose-style baby carrier, and I wound up having a nervous breakdown on live television. I’m guessing that’s where the guardianship came in. Yeah. Originally, it was brando. But when he died, his mother, gladys, took over. Wait, your — your mother-in-law’s name is gladys? Why? Well, it’s just, I-I know a woman named gladys, but she’s — she’s probably not your mother-in-law, though. You would know if you met her. She’s pretty memorable. Your mommy’s gonna love this picture. It’s just what she needs to brighten up her hospital room and be reminded of how much you love her. Wiley: All done. Uncle chase, will you read me a story? Well, sure thing. Go pick one out. Oh. [ Sighs ] What? You’re really good with him. So are you. The kid loves you. I mean, we shouldn’t be surprised, really. This feel familiar to you? Wasn’t all that long ago that we were living together, taking care of bailey. We make a good team. Chase, you don’t have to stay.

[ Jar slams ] It doesn’t matter what joss said, alright? That sex tape is when all our problems started. Okay, can we stop calling it that? It makes it sound like you guys willingly made one. Yeah, you’re right. We didn’T. It’s revenge porn, which is a crime, and esme should rot in jail for it. Everything was perfect before that. Okay, you’re right in that I can’t fix this for you, but you know that I’ve had my fair share of experience with heartbreak, right? And I’m not gonna pretend to know how things were with you and joss. Maybe everything was perfect before that video came out. But, in my experience, rarely is it just one thing that breaks up a couple. Josslyn: I don’t understand. Why would someone put themselves on a bone-marrow transplant list if you can’t go through with it? They must’ve had a condition they weren’t aware of when they signed up. What does this mean for willow and the baby? Willow needs a bone-marrow transplant, period. All the doctors can do right now is just buy her enough time until — until we can find another match. I got to take a walk. I think I’m gonna go to the chapel, say a prayer for willow. Let’s go. I’ll go with you. We need to put an end to this madness now. I know what I have to do.

[ Sighs ] How you doing? Yeah. It must be pretty devastating for you to know what michael’s going through. It’s never easy watching your kids suffer. And now that, you know, michael and I are estranged, it’s like, I want to give him a hug. He d– he don’t want — he don’t want it. Well — but you know what? Listen. [ Sighs ] We got to just concentrate on — on willow. We care about her so much, right? And they’re good together. I ju– I’m just feeling like I d– I don’t know what to do. Well, you’re — you’re gonna be there for them, and that’s enough. That’s a lot. I just feel like I-I just can’t abandon my son. I need to let him know that. Well, I will be here for you. And as much as they don’t want it… for michael and willow, too. You’re the one who called me over here with last-minute changes to a song that I’m supposed to sing tomorrow, and you’re kicking me out? That makes perfect sense. Oh, come on, chase. I wasn’t born yesterday. I know the only reason why you came over here was because you were worried about willow and wanted more information. And now that we know she has leukemia, I know you want to go to G.H. And see her.

[ Sighs ] Look, when nina and sonny told us the news, yes, my initial reaction was to rush over to the hospital. But is that what’s best for michael and willow? No. It’s already got to be really awkward over there because of the way michael feels about sonny. Not to mention how carly and joss feel about sonny and nina. Do they really want willow’s ex-husband in the mix? I don’t think so. Chase, it’s me you’re talking to, okay? I know how much you care about willow, and you, michael, and — and willow, you’re friends-ish again, right? Yeah, something like that. So your mind just must be going crazy with worry. Go be with them. Both of them. Really. I can take care of wiley by myself, and I can cancel tomorrow’s performance. Won’t linc throw a fit? Let me handle linc, okay? You need to do what you need to do. If I go to G.H., I’m only gonna be in the way. If the best way for me to help michael and willow is to help you keep wiley happy, then that’s what I’m gonna do. Maybe it’s just easier to blame the breakup all on esme. I mean, god knows she played a big role, so it must feel like she is responsible for everything. And it’s — it’s easy to look at one catastrophic event and be like, “yeah, that was it.” Trust me, I’ve been there. But you will only drive yourself crazy if you keep asking yourself, “what if this had never happened?” If esme didn’t make the revenge porn, if trina never went to trial, if none of those things ever happened, I am certain that josslyn and I would still be together.

[ Sighs ] But, cameron, if you — you really think about it, there were other issues, too. Like, didn’t you keep spencer’s secret that he was only pretending to believe esme, and you didn’t tell josslyn? Regardless of the reasoning, that hurt the communication between the two of you. [ Sighs ] I mean, even after she told me, she — she didn’t want anyone else to know. Why? She thought it was the best way to protect wiley. She didn’t want him to be afraid. And, uh, he’s reaching that age now where he’s more perceptive, so she thought that if you or mom or anyone would’ve looked at her with worry that, you know… that wiley would’ve picked up on it and realized that something was wrong. I guess that makes sense. I mean, he’s a smart little boy.

[ Cellphone chimes ]

[ Sighs ] Cameron? No. Uh, no, it’s someone else. Listen, is there anything I can do? I know that that feels like an empty gesture, but, really, I would do anything. Just, uh… just be here with me. It’s done.

[ Monitor beeping ] Hey. How is she? Her vitals are stable, but we’re not sure when she’s going to wake up. She’d appreciate you being here either way.

[ Beeping continues ] Willow. I need you to wake up. Oh, god. I’m so sorry. If I had known… I-I never intended anything like this to happen. You have to know that I love you like you’re my own daughter. Please wake up so I can tell you what I need to say. It may save your life. Willow?

Willow. If you can hear the sound of my voice, it’s carly.

[ Monitor beeping ] Please, please wake up.

[ Sighing ] Willow’s still sleeping. You know, I tried to wake her up, but… well, you can tell her later. We’re way past that. Will you stay with michael? Yeah, of course. Thank you. I read in the invader that britt died because she stepped in to rescue someone from the hook. She actually saved a life, and not just by being a doctor but being a kick-ass hero.

[ Chuckles ] Yeah. And that was — that was just a week after she delivered a miracle baby on christmas right here in the quartermaine house. Brando died protecting someone, too. He was following josslyn jacks to make sure she was safe. Well, it sounds like he was a hero, also. I’m grateful that britt was in my life, even if it was for such a short time. Brando and I survived a whole lot of problems, but I still loved my life with him. Even knowing how it ended, I would do it again in a heartbeat. You know what? To britt and brando. And you will be there with her. You got to believe that, willow. All of this, the — the doctors, the medicine, it’s all important, of course, but… so is believing. You’re gonna make it, and we’re all gonna be here for you.

[ Cellphone rings ]

[ Sighs ] Hello? Right now? Okay. Okay. I’ll be there. Hey, tj, um… look, I just — I want to say thank you. I know you’ve done a lot to support willow. That’s what friends do. And if you need anything at all, michael, please, don’t hesitate to ask. Yeah, thank you. I appreciate that. Yeah.

Taylor: Because of me?

Steffy: Mom, we didn’t have a choice. If we told the judge that sheila shot us, then bill would tell the cops that you shot him all those years ago.

Taylor: Why? Why? He promised he would never say anything.

Steffy: Now, he won’T.

Taylor: What?

Steffy: Remember the night with the storm?

Taylor: Yeah.

Steffy: Sheila showed up here.

Finn: We were about to call the police when bill appeared and stopped us.

Steffy: Yeah. Bill told us to let her go, and when we refused, he blackmailed us. He tied sheila’s freedom to yours.

Taylor: My god. Why? Why would he do this?

Steffy: You’re not gonna believe this, mom, but something’s going on between sheila and bill.

Sheila: I’ve been hiding for so long, I almost forgot what freedom felt like. I could– I could just scream with relief, joy and gratitude. I– I knew you said that you would get me off… I believed it. I just, there was a part of me that was– I was still scared. When I finally heard the judge say those words, “you are free to go,” I just– I couldn’t believe it. Yes. Look at me. Here I am. A free woman again.

Bill: Freedom looks good on you. A lot better than that disguise.

Sheila: Thank you. I appreciate it. And you are the reason why I am a free woman.

Katie: So, I’m assuming someone is keeping ridge in the loop?

Brooke: Steffy talks to him the most.

Katie: But you’ve heard from him too, right?

Brooke: Yeah. A few times. He’s still travelling. I think this time away has been really good for him.

Katie: For you as well. I don’t remember the last time I’ve seen you so at ease. I really admire the way you’ve handled this, brooke.

Brooke: Why, thank you. Taylor and I were just talking about what a difference it’s made.

Katie: Yeah, well, you’re talking. You’re not smearing paint and cake all over each other.

Brooke: Oh, yeah. It’s amazing. For so long, we’ve been adversaries, and then we just took ridge out of the occasion and I could see how much we actually have in common. We love our kids, we’re so devoted to them, to our careers. We’re fiercely protective of our families.

Katie: Well, you’ve had to be with sheila carter around. But today, that’s all going to change after steffy and finn give their testimony to the judge, sheila won’t be a threat ever again.

Brooke: Thank god.

Sheila: I– I’m never going to forget the look on steffy’s face when the judge dropped all the charges. I really think she and finn thought he would keep me locked up.

Bill: If they testified, he would have.

Sheila: Yeah, but you made sure that they didn’T.

Bill: They thought he’d keep you in custody anyway.

Sheila: For what? Breaking out of jail? Mike changed his story. He forced me out of there and the judge said that he even had video evidence or was that just the way he was supposed to interpret it? This is unbelievable. Everyone thought that my case was going to be open and shut, but there was no real evidence. I mean, there’s no video footage of the shooting. No forensics. And the only eye witness chose to not testify against me. And that was because of you. My hero. You really are my hero.

Taylor: So, something is going on between bill and sheila? Did you mean like… romantically?

Steffy: Yeah.

Taylor: No, no, no. Bill called the police on sheila. He’s– he’s a hero. He turned her in.

Steffy: After making sure we would testify against her. They planned the whole thing.

Taylor: Okay, okay. So, bill’s loyalty is to sheila carter, the woman who almost killed you both? Kids can change minds…

Katie: Gosh, I didn’t realize how stressed out I was about sheila until she was caught.

Brooke: Oh, I know. The feeling is incredible.

Katie: Taylor and her family must feel the same way.

Brooke: I’m sure they’ll feel even better once finn and steffy give their testimony. Sheila will be locked away for good.

Katie: Thank god.

Brooke: Then, you can go back to focusing on your love life.

Katie: I’m just trying not to overthink it.

Brooke: Well, this gorgeous, intelligent, luscious c-o-o of ours has been thinking about you.

Katie: Has carter said something to you?

Brooke: Well, maybe you should ask him yourself. Oh.

Katie: Oh, hi.

Brooke: Hi there. We were just talking about you.

Katie: What is it? What’s wrong?

Carter: I have some shocking news.

Katie: What?

Carter: Sheila carter has been released from jail.

Sheila: And you’re happy for me, aren’t you?

Bill: Of course I am. I can see how relieved you are.

Sheila: It’s– it’s unbelievable. I mean, to think that I could walk out that door and there’s nothing that anyone can do to me? That I don’t need a disguise or– or to fear being caught? I’m no longer a fugitive. I’m also not a monster. I know I’ve made mistakes. I’ve realized that. Big ones. But I did it out of fear. I hurt the ones that I love, but it wasn’t intentional and I am not evil. You know that. And you looked into my eyes, into my heart and you understand the woman that I truly am. And you didn’T… you didn’t hold my past against me. Or my terrible reputation. You understood me and that strength and that… and that intense passion that we share. You never looked at me like I was a villain. You gave me another chance and for that, I am going to be forever grateful.

Taylor: Okay, so– so sheila’s a free woman because of bill spencer?

Finn: We’re as sad and sickened as you are.

Taylor: Oh, my god. This can’t be happening! She left you in an alley to die. She held you hostage! She almost killed li and now she’s free to walk? She’s free to go on with her life?

Steffy: We didn’t think that was a possibility, mom. There were other charges.

Taylor: Exactly! Yes! There were! She– she escaped from jail. The judge doesn’t need your testimony to hold her for that.

Finn: Except she didn’t break out.

Taylor: Yes, she did!

Finn: N– not if you believe the story that was concocted claiming that mike guthrie forced her to leave with him.

Taylor: Mike guthrie, her accomplice.

Steffy: Based on a sworn affidavit, it was his idea to bust her out. Sheila was kidnapped.

Taylor: Now, they’re making her the victim?

Finn: Apparently, there’s security footage.

Steffy: The whole thing is bogus, mom. Bill is behind all of it. He has the judge bought and paid for. He orchestrated the whole thing.

Taylor: What is he thinking? He’s kelly’s grandfather! Does he have any idea how dangerous this is for all of us?

Steffy: Bill’s clearly lost his mind, mom. And he will do whatever he can to protect sheila.

Taylor: You and my grandbabies are the ones that need protecting. Hayes! You know she’s gonna try and go after him. You know she is! There’s gotta be another way to make her pay for what she’s done. There’s only one way that I can think of and we both know what that is. Hi, I’m jason and I’ve lost 202 pounds on golo.

Brooke: There is no way. It can’t be true.

Carter: I didn’t believe it either.

Katie: Sheila attempted murder.

Brooke: She needs to be locked up. She was.

Carter: Now, she isn’T.

Katie: How do you know this?

Carter: I got a call from a colleague at the courthouse.

Katie: I– I don’t understand what’s going on.

Brooke: Okay, wait. Finn and steffy were just there. They were going to give their testimony to the judge about sheila shooting them.

Katie: Not only that, she escaped from prison. She faked her own death. They can’t just let her go.

Brooke: She is a dangerous criminal. She needs to be behind bars.

Carter: I agree, but that’s not what happened. Sheila was released. She walked out of that courthouse totally free.

Sheila: So, how long before they start showing up with pitchforks and torches?

Bill: I don’t know and I don’t care. I told security to let them through. Get it out of the way.

Sheila: Yeah, but you know that they’re not just coming for me. Bill, once they find out I’m here, you’re gonna be in for it too. You realize I didn’t want it to be like this, not for any of us. What happened in the alley that night really was a terrible, terrible accident. I love my son. He’s my flesh and blood. I love steffy too. Just really wish things could’ve been different.

Steffy: No. N– no. No. I’m not listening to this. What’s done is done.

Taylor: Yes, but steffy, I can undo it.

Steffy: No, you can’t! I won’t let you.

Taylor: Listen, I know that you are just trying to protect me and I love you so much for that, but I am not going to put my family in danger.

Steffy: No, you aren’t, mom. Sheila is the danger.

Taylor: Yes! Yes, she is and she needs to be in prison. Finn, I am so sorry that you had to learn what happened that night. I gave into my– my darkest, most uh– most violent instincts and I… I committed a horrible crime.

Finn: And I know why.

Steffy: Mom, you weren’t yourself when you shot bill.

Taylor: No. I know that wasn’t me. I just– I– I can’t believe that bill is– is blackmailing you to stay quiet so you won’t testify. It doesn’t make any sense. So much for him keeping his word about what happened that night and it’s all to defend sheila carter, a literal psychopath. My god. I can’t let that happen. I can’T. I will confess. I will confess to– to shooting bill and he’ll have nothing to hold against you. You– you can tell the judge exactly what happened in the alley that night and then sheila will spend the rest of her life rotting behind bars, where she belongs. Having diabetes can raise a lot of questions.

Sheila: I really was hoping I could get through to finn and steffy and show them that we really could co-exist regardless of our past. Finn is my son and I… I love him. He’s of my blood and hayes is my grandson and we’re connected and nothing is ever gonna change that. I don’t know. Maybe I was just hoping for too much. You know, I was just being naive.

Bill: It’s hard to give up on family.

Sheila: Yeah, but that’s all I ever wanted. Even– even that night in the alley, I– I begged steffy to– to try and accept me. Not turn my son against me and now, all I want is to be forgiven. Now, I just think that that day is probably never going to come.

[ Bill sighing ]

Bill: I can’t promise you that you will be part of finn and steffy’s lives, but I give you my word, you’ll never have to worry about your freedom. I’ll do whatever it takes to protect you, keep you out of prison.

Sheila: You are an incredibly generous man, bill spencer. And what you’ve done for me is more than money could ever, ever buy. You’ve given me my freedom and my future. I owe you my life.

Taylor: Sheila and bill will not get away with this.

Steffy: They already are. Sheila’s out. She’s roaming free.

Taylor: Okay, not for long.

Steffy: Mom, you weren’t there. You didn’t hear the things bill was saying about sheila.

Taylor: No, but I can– I can hear the fear in your voice. I can see it on your husband’s face. Knowing that sheila is out there, wondering when she’s gonna snap again, what she can do to my children and grandchildren?

Finn: I won’t let that happen.

Taylor: No, I’m going to make sure that it never happens. I am going to go baker, I’m going to tell him exactly what happened the night bill spencer was shot. That I was in a maternal rage. Every– everything inside of me, I just– I just lost it. All I could think about in that moment was– was wanting bill out of our lives for– permanently. I have tried for so many years to just try and make some kind of peace for what I did, but I can’T. I have to come forward. I have to say what I did. I do.

Steffy: No, no, no, no.

Taylor: For everybody.

Steffy: I know you. You wanna do the right thing, but what you’re suggesting might not even help. We told you. Bill owns the judge. Mom, if you confess, you could go to prison and sheila, she still might be free. How is that protecting our family?

Finn: Look, if you want to keep your grandkids safe, help us keep sheila away.

Taylor: No, I want her to be away forever. I– I want her to go to jail.

Steffy: Mom, you are a good person. We need you. Kelly and hayes need you. Douglas needs you. We can’t lose you. You can’t– you can’t say anything. Promise me you won’t say anything about shooting bill. Your future, your freedom, is not worth putting sheila away.

Sasha tells Chase that she misses Brando most at night when the house is quiet and she looks forward to going to sleep so she can dream about him. Chase tells Sasha that is perfectly normal for any widow to do and if she feels that way again, she can call him anytime so they can talk.

Gladys tells Sonny he needs to persuade Sasha to sell Brando’s garage for $ 300,000 but Sonny thinks Sasha is right because the garage is worth more money.

Brook Lynn calls Chase to ask him to come to the Quartermaine Mansion to learn some new song lyrics she wrote for the song he is singing with Blaze at the radio station tomorrow. Brook Lynn hopes that she can get some alone time with Chase but he brings Sasha with him.

Drew is even more upset with Carly when she tells him that she lied to him about the results of the paternity test that she had done on Nina and Willow. Drew tells Carly that he is glad that that their relationship didn’t go any further because he can’t trust her anymore.

Sonny tells Joseph n to tell Michael he will help him with anything he and Willow need while she is going through cancer.

Josslyn is shocked because Michael didn’t tell her about Willow’s illness. Dex drives Josslynn home and she cries and tells Dex about Oscar and his cancerous brain tumor and how much she loved him. Josslyn doesn’t want Michael to go through the pain of losing Willow like she lost Oscar.

Sonny asks Brick to find the best oncologist for Willow in case they need help. Willow has a nightmare that Nina takes Wiley and her baby girl away from her unaware that Nina is downstairs confronting Michael. Willow wakes up startled and goes downstairs and sees Nina with Wiley who came downstairs because he couldn’t sleep. Willow screams at Nina that she won’t take her children from her because she is still alive. Michael calms Willow and tells me to take Wiley upstairs and she gets up two or three steps, and then Wiley says Mommy and Willow passes out. Michael rushes over to Willow and quickly calls an ambulance. Nina calls Carly to tell her Michael and Willow are on the way to the hospital. Michael calls Brook Lynn so she can stay with Wiley.

Abby tells Chance that she is thinking about moving out of the Chancellor Mansion and he persuades her to take, some time to think about it since Dominic has lived there all his life. Chance thinks Abby is in a hurry to move in with Devon and these words make Abby very mad and she storms out of the coffee house.

Lily officially breaks up with Billy and heads over to talk to Chelsea. Lily is furious when Jill tells her that Devon wants to buy back Hamilton-Winters. Lily goes over to Devon’s place and they argue about him wanting to buy back his company. Lily thinks Devon is mad that she and Jill want to take the company public and, since he didn’t get his way, he wants to hurt the IPO. Lily thinks that Devon is behaving more like Victor then Neil.

Victor offers Chelsea his help if she needs some and offers that he and Nikki can take care of Connor. Adam warns Victor to stay away from his family because they will never be under his thumb. Victor thinks Adam needs to hit rock bottom and fail in a big way so he will realize he needs his family.
