Trina and Ava talk about what is going on in Trina’s life. Ava asks what Trina’s plans are for the new school year.  Trina asks Ava if she can come back to work at the Jerome Gallery.  Nina says of course she can and she asks why Trina would want to work at her gallery and not one of the more sophisticated galleries in town. Trina says that she enjoys setting her own hours and the more relaxed atmosphere. Nina arrives and Trina goes to spend time with Spencer and Ace who are swimming in the pool.

Nina wants to know what is going on with Ava and Sonny.  Ava doesn’t tell her much, only that everything is going to get better soon. Nina is irritated at first but then resigns herself to the fact that Ava is her friend and she can trust her when she says that Ava and Sonny are protecting Nina by not telling her.

Marshall goes to see Portia at General Hospital and as soon as he arrives he steps into Portia’s office and says, “we have a problem.” He then tells Portia they have got to provide Neka with some help because she is overwhelmed at the Savoy without Curtis’ daily presence. Marshall and Portia agree that the family will step in to fill the void left by Curtis’ absence.

Michael and Willow arrive at General Hospital for Willow’s appointment with Dr. Randolph.  They are greeted by Austin, who notes how well Willow is looking. Michael notices Dex watching Austin and after Willow goes in for her appointment, he follows Dex outside and asks him what is going on. Dex tells him that he is on an assignment from Sonny but doesn’t give him many details.

Betty and Mason go into Austin’s office so Betty can tell them both what she found at Sonny’s penthouse. Austin remarks that no one bothers to knock anymore. Austin then tells Mason and Betty that he is done as Dex tries to listen outside. Mason reminds Austin that they are all employees of the boss and that no one gets out until the boss says so.

Spencer and Trina talk about her feelings about what is going on with her mother and Curtis as Esme watches them from across the roof of the Metro Court. Spencer encourages her to go to Portia to check in on her. After Trina kisses him and leaves, Esme walks over and asks Ace if he wants to go swimming with his mother. She takes off her wrap revealing a pink bikini which Spencer takes notice of.

Portia is looking at accessibility options for the house when Trina arrives bearing latte’s. She tells her mother that it was Spencer’s idea for Trina to check in on Portia but that the lattes were her idea. Trina sees the accessibility equipment on Portia’s screen and says she had no idea that it was so expensive to make a home handicap accessible.

Curtis is working with his therapist Roy when Roy insists they take a break. Roy tells Curtis that it is important that he not push himself too hard too quickly. Curtis isn’t happy but he agrees. At that moment, Selina Wu comes into the room and tells Curtis she is there as a friend to offer to run the Savoy while Curtis is out of commission.  She actually then makes an offer to take it off of Curtis’ hands altogether. “Over my dead body,” Marshall tells her. Marshall tells Selina that their family will take care of the club for his son. Wu makes some pointed remarks about Marshall not knowing anything about running a club.

Sam meets Cody at the coffee bar and he tells her that he thinks Sasha is being drugged and wants the entire situation to be investigated. Cody tells Sam that the reason why Sasha took a downward spiral is because she was considering removing Gladys as her guardian. Cody tells Sam about the situation that happened on the Home and Heart show and how well Sasha handled it.  He also says the timing of Sasha’s breakdown is just too coincidental. Sam says that they need concrete evidence before they can get the police to do anything like that and Cody gets up to leave.  Sam says, “where are you going?”  Cody tells Sam he is going to get the proof she needs.

At the PCPD Gladys files for a restraining order to keep Cody away from Sasha. Mac comes over to them and sends her to another officer to get the paperwork for the restraining order processed.

At Ferncliff, Mandy tries to figure out why Sasha is acting the way she is because her medications shouldn’t be causing it. She tries to talk to her but Dr. Montague comes in. Mandy talks to him and tells him that she ordered a blood test and he tells her to not do anything else with his patient without talking to him first. After she leaves he tries to convince Sasha she is using again and gives her another injection.

Cody goes to the PCPD and tells Dante and Mac that they need to help Sasha and then Gladys comes out and pushes the restraining order in Cody’s face. But, Cody has finally had it with Gladys and goes off on her, screaming and yelling about what she has been doing to Sasha.  Cody says that Gladys has left Sasha scared and alone at Ferncliff.  He then says, maybe it is time that Gladys felt “scared and alone” and he lunges at Gladys. Dante drags Cody into an interrogation room and Gladys demands that Mac arrest Cody. Mac tells her that he can do that but if he does then the PCPD will have to investigate all of Cody’s claims. Gladys, knowing that she is guilty of everything Cody has accused her of, finally relents.

At Ferncliff, Dr. Montague tells Janice that someone on staff is smuggling drugs to Sasha and asks her to remove Mandy from Sasha’s case. Later Janice goes in to check on Sasha and Sam sneaks around the corner and watches through the window as Sasha screams at Janice to leave her alone.

Update written by Shane

In Paris, Anna was disheartened that her search with Valentin had not revealed more details on Lucy’s location.

Anna admitted her guilt over having involved Lucy in her quest to bring down Victor. There was a knock at the door and Valentin answered. Outside, a young boy named Antoine indicated he had information for Valentin.  Anna and Valentin invited him in. Antoine spoke in French and told Valentin and Anna that his father had been complaining about the American woman who would not stop speaking. Antoine said that the woman had uttered the words “Ciao” and “Ta” often. Anna and Valentin realized the woman he spoke of was Lucy.

Valentin thanked Antoine and gave him money for the information and asked him to remain quiet about their meeting. Antoine said that he had never met Valentin.  Valentin and Anna smiled and bid Antoine goodbye. After he left, Valentin and Anna realized that Antoine was the son of one of Victor’s men. Anna and Valentin were thrilled to know that Lucy was alive and still putting up a fight. They spoke of how to rescue Lucy. Valentin said that perhaps they could use the sewer system to gain access to Victor’s compound. Anna believed the catacombs would be of better use to them.

Anna studied the maps of the catacombs and realized that the location of Victor’s prison for Lucy was a veritable fortress and not easily accessed by any means. Valentin suggested that there were many areas of the catacombs not reflected in the blueprints or on any map.  He said that there still might be a way to reach Lucy and they both agreed they would make an attempt to free Lucy from Victor’s men.

At GH, Victor visited Esme. Victor spoke to Esme as if she was faking her amnesia, but Esme had no clue who he was. Victor told Esme to call him “Uncle Victor.”  He manipulated Esme into thinking that he was there to make sure she received the best of care and representation because she was carrying the “next Cassadine heir.”  Victor was obviously surprised that Esme had a genuine case of memory loss.

Esme said that given the awful things she stood accused of, it might be better if she never regained her memory. Victor asked Esme what she planned to do after leaving the hospital. Esme replied that she would go to court and hoped to avoid prison.

At that point, Martin entered. Victor reminded Martin and Esme that the police had no physical evidence to tie Esme to any of the hook killings. Martin grew angry, and asked to speak to Victor outside the room. Martin called Victor an “unrepentant sociopath,” and conversation became heated when Martin spoke of Lucy. Martin issued a veiled threat by implying that he didn’t know if he would be able to fully concentrate on Esme’s case because he was so worried about Lucy’s disappearance. He said that Esme might have to have her baby behind bars. Victor asked Martin if he was threatening him. Martin said that he was only stating the facts.  Both men stared at each other with enmity, Martin knowing all too well that Victor was behind Lucy’s disappearance and Victor not doing a very good job of concealing his guilt. Martin walked away from Victor knowing he had the upper hand now that he was Esme’s only hope of being exonerated.

Later, Victor placed a call to a henchman named Gavin in France. Victor asked about their “guest,” and he warned Gavin that Anna and Valentin had still not been located and he feared that they might be headed in his direction.  He ordered the guard to double security.

Heather made her way into Ryan’s cell and was startled when he leapt from his wheelchair and approached her.  Heather told Ryan that her favorite security guard had been fired for stealing.  She revealed her plan to bust Esme out of GH and that they would run from the authorities.  It bothered Heather that Esme had no idea who she was and probably didn’t even know her name.  Ryan confirmed that Esme had no clue who Heather was.  This further angered Heather, who despite Ryan’s objections said she was carrying out her plan immediately with no delays. Ryan insisted she needed a better plan and to think things through.  She dismissed him and when she left the cell she said that she would “send him a postcard.”

In Willow’s room at the hospital, Willow told Michael that she didn’t want to deliver their baby prematurely. Michael grew angry, and he said that Willow having the baby a month before its due date would not pose a great risk to the baby’s overall health. Michael added that by delaying treatment for the leukemia, Willow was gambling with her life.

Michael left Willow’s room to go for a walk with Chase, who had come to the hospital to offer their support for Michael. In Willow’s room, Sasha confirmed that she knew that Willow had leukemia. Sasha was floored when Willow said that she had just learned that Nina was her biological mother. Willow sarcastically said that she was “better off with Harmony” as a mother. Sasha asked if Willow was thinking about refusing a transplant merely because Nina was the donor.

Willow believed that Nina would “leverage” her bone marrow as a way to gain visitation with Wiley. Willow claimed that she wouldn’t refuse a transplant from Nina. After Michael returned, Sasha departed.

Alone in the room, Michael apologized for having grown angry with Willow. Willow said that she had decided she would bring their baby into the world if Dr. Randolph thought it was too risky to delay treatment. Michael was relieved, and he told Willow that he loved her.

At Sonny’s penthouse, Nina kept calling the hospital and asking if she was a bone marrow match for Willow.  She became angry at how long it was taking the lab to perform a “simple blood test.”  Nina was thrilled that she might be able to save Willow.

Nina, who was overcome with emotion and couldn’t stop crying, said that she would never forgive Carly for having kept the truth from her. Sonny admitted that he was “mad as hell” over Carly’s actions. Sonny told Nina that he and Michael had shared a moment the previous night. Sonny said that he had seen a glimpse of the person Michael used to be.

Nina received a phone call and learned she was a potential bone marrow match donor for Willow.  She shared the news with Sonny, who told Nina that “as long as there is life, there is hope.”

Nina said that she had to get to the hospital and Sonny asked her if she would like him to go with her.  Nina said that she wouldn’t have it any other way.  The two kissed and laughed.

Update written by Shane

At the Robinson residence, Trina revealed that she had been in touch with Spencer. Portia lectured Trina about remaining in contact with Spencer. Trina recalled how helpless Esme had seemed when she had approached Trina and Spencer on the Haunted Star on NYE, and she admitted that she did have sympathy for Esme. Trina wondered aloud if it were possible that her amnesia had changed Esme.

Trina said she was ready to move on with her life. Portia asked how letting Spencer back into Trina’s life would help. Trina said that Spencer had been there for her like no one else since Rory’s death. Portia then began blasting the entire Cassadine family. She claimed that she had tried to keep an open mind about Nikolas, but then immediately started picking apart Nikolas and Victor in particular. Portia very condescendingly added that Spencer was a convicted felon.

Trina said that one day she hoped they could see eye to eye on Spencer but she added that this was not a necessity because Spencer was her friend and she called the shots in her life.  She made it clear she was disgusted with Portia’s actions and words and retired for the night to her bedroom.

Curtis entered the room carrying both he and Portia a glass of wine. Portia asked if he had overheard her conversation with Trina.  Curtis said that he had heard most of it. Portia vowed that Spencer wouldn’t become a habit. “Not if I have anything to say,” Portia said.

At Sonny’s penthouse, Alexis visited Spencer.  She and Spencer discussed Esme’s claim to have memory loss, and he was still heartbroken at the loss of Britt. Alexis said that whatever Spencer decided about the baby it was imperative that he not hold an innocent child to blame for their family problems. Spencer said he would never hold a grudge against an innocent baby, but he was concerned that Esme might take the baby far away from Port Charles. Alexis nixed that idea, when she told Nikolas that his father was resigned to have total custody of the child.  When she told Spencer about the conversation she had with Nikolas about custody of the baby and how Nikolas didn’t want Esme anywhere near his child because she was unstable.  Spencer paused and said, “pot meet kettle.”  Alexis agreed and told him she had reiterated that point to Nikolas as well.

Alexis wanted Spencer to tell her about anyone that might have been loyal enough (other than the psychopath Ryan Chamberlain) to Esme to kill those people she regarded as threats to Esme and her child. Spencer recalled that Sam had looked into Maggie, Esme’s nanny, whose last whereabouts had been in London. Spencer told Alexis that Maggie had warned Esme in a letter not to have anything to do with her birth father. Alexis thanked Spencer for the scoop.

At the Port Charles Police Station, Jordan asked Dante for a lead on the hook killer. Soon afterward, Josslyn appeared. Dante, Jordan, and Robert started to formally question Josslyn about her encounter with the hook attacker. Dante showed Josslyn a grainy photo that he said had been taken 15 minutes before Britt had called in the attack on New Year’s Eve. Jordan asked if it was Josslyn’s life that Britt had saved. Before Josslyn could say anything, Diane arrived and ended the interview by looking at Josslyn and saying, “not another word.”

Diane, Robert, and Jordan were pushed out of the interrogation room so that Diane could confer with Josslyn. Diane soon reappeared and said Josslyn was prepared to give a statement. In the statement, Josslyn admitted that she had been on the pier during the night of the attack and that someone had attacked her with a knife. Josslyn claimed that during the night of the attack, she hadn’t seen anything that could help the police. Dante asked if the attacker had looked pregnant, and Josslyn said she couldn’t recall.  Josslyn said there was no need for this interrogation style meeting, she told Dante if she could have helped the police in any way she would have come to Dante on her own.  Dante agreed.

Dante asked Diane for permission to speak to Josslyn alone, and Diane asked Josslyn sho said that it would be fine. Alone in the interrogation room, Josslyn self-righteously claimed that Dante had “ambushed” her, and she gloated that she had “learned from the best” to not talk to the police. “Yeah, you did,” Dante said. So, what was the family emergency?” Dante asked Josslyn.

At the hospital, Drew told Michael that Nina was Willow’s birth mother. Michael was livid and his face did not hide his disgust and exasperation. Drew tried to console Michael and to remind Michael that the important thing now was to get Nina tested for the bone marrow donor registry.  Michael begrudgingly agreed and returned to Willow’s room.

In the hospital chapel, Carly said that Nina might be the only person who could help Willow. “Nelle isn’t your only daughter. Willow is, too,” Carly told a confused Nina. Nina became her typical self-righteous self and demanded answers from Carly, who explained that years earlier, Nina had given birth to twin daughters under medical supervision. “So, if Willow was Nelle’s twin, you’re saying that Madeline handed Willow off to…” Nina said. “Harmony. Your mother gave the baby to Harmony,” Carly answered without any doubt in her mind.

Carly admitted that Harmony had suspected that Nina was Willow’s mother on the night that Harmony had died. Carly later added that she knew for a fact that Nina was Willow’s biological mother, and she admitted that she had proof. Carly admitted that she had run a DNA test on both Nina and Willow and that the results were conclusive. This made Nina angrier as she accused Carly of stealing her DNA and then conducting an unauthorized DNA test without her knowledge or consent.  Carly said that none of this mattered because what was done was done; and that Nina and Willow were mother and daughter.

Nina remained skeptical that Carly was telling the truth, but Carly pleaded with her that now was not the time for doubts. Nina needed to be tested. Nina flashed back to a series of conversations and run-ins with Willow through the years. Carly continued to plead with Nina, who grew visibly angry. Nina rushed to the door of the chapel, but she turned to look at Carly again. “You made me feel like the scum of the earth for a year. You kept saying over and over how I was wrecking your family. What about my family? How could you keep me away from my child?” Nina said as her voice started to give out.

Carly said that Nina could lash out at her after Nina had been tested. “Don’t tell me what to do, Carly! Go to hell… you selfish bitch! I’m gonna go save my daughter,” Nina yelled. Slamming the chapel door.  Carly looked absolutely wrecked.

Sonny sat with Willow in Willow’s room. Sonny told an unconscious Willow that she was tough and that Michael would get her the best of care. Sonny said he wished he could take care of both Willow and Michael.

Sonny continued to praise Willow, and he thanked her for having never lost hope in repairing his relationship with Michael. Just then, Michael entered the room.  Sonny explained to Michael that Josslyn had to leave and that she had asked Sonny to stay in the room with Willow so that she would not be alone. Michael said he appreciated Sonny having stayed with Willow. Sonny left to give Michael and Willow space. Alone with Willow, Michael whispered that he needed Willow, and he pressed his face against her hand. Willow awoke, and she asked what had happened. Michael recalled that Willow had passed out and had been brought by ambulance to GH.

Willow recalled that Nina had been in the gatehouse with Wiley. Michael confirmed that Wiley had seen Willow pass out, and he said they would explain everything to Wiley. Willow surmised that there was something Michael wasn’t telling her, and she asked what was wrong. Michael said that what he had to say was about Nina. Willow coldly remarked that she never wanted to hear Nina’s name again.

Just then, Nina entered the room. Willow demanded that Nina leave. “I’m sorry, but your life may depend on me,” Nina said still reeling from the news herself.

Outside Willow’s room, Sonny chatted with Drew. Sonny was surprised that Drew hadn’t known about Willow’s diagnosis until recently. “Can I ask you a question? Carly’s in the chapel right now with Nina instead of Michael and Willow. Do you know anything about that?” Sonny asked Drew.

Drew remained tight-lipped, and he said that it wasn’t his place to share why Carly had wanted to speak to Nina. Sonny “suggested” that Drew tell him the truth. After leaving the chapel, Carly appeared. Carly told Sonny to “back off.”

“What’s going on, Carly?” Sonny asked directly.

Update written by Shane

Nina continued going through the box of items that she and Liesl had retrieved from Britt’s office. She picked up the Doctor of the Year award and held it close to her chest. She then began to sort through papers, but was interrupted by Ava returning home.  She told Ava that she had to separate the things that belonged to the hospital from Britt’s personal possessions. Nina also told Ava that Liesl was napping in Nina’s bedroom and that Nina felt like she had not been able to console Liesl in the way she had hoped.  She told Ava that Liesl wouldn’t eat and Nina was growing increasingly concerned.

Ava said that it was admirable that Nina wanted to take care of her aunt.  But, quickly added that Nina needed to consider taking a minute for some self-care. Nina told Ava how nice it had been getting to know Britt when she returned to Port Charles and that she just couldn’t believe that Britt was gone. Their chat continued on the sofa and Nina revealed to Ava that Britt had Huntington’s disease at the time of her death.

Nina asked about Esme’s return and Ava’s face shifted to sheer disgust as she remarked that Esme was full of surprises. Ava told Nina that Esme was pregnant and Nikolas was the father. Nina was horrified, and Ava told Nina she didn’t believe there was a word for how angry she was. Ava announced her plan to get divorced as quickly as possible and she stated that if her plan was successful there would be a small reward for Nina.

Ava told Nina she planned on taking Wyndemere for herself. She maintained that she had leverage now with Nikolas’ infidelity and out-of-wedlock child. Ava flashed back to Nikolas’ confession of killing Esme (although she did not reveal it to Nina). Nina had grown accustomed to having Ava around and said that she would actually miss her. They laughed about that, and Ava confessed that she felt the same way. Ava grabbed Nina’s hands, and they agreed that they depended on each other. “You go get ’em,” Nina ordered. Nina also reminded Ava that her bedroom would not be going anywhere.

As Alexis walked into Kelly’s, she told someone on the phone that she would have to reschedule, something had come up, with her family. Just as she ended the call, Nikolas arrived and heard the word “family.” They sat down at a side table, against the wall and Nikolas announced that he needed legal advice, even if it was unofficial. Alexis inquired as to why Nikolas wasn’t using Martin. Nikolas said that Martin was defending Esme from criminal prosecution. Alexis found that humorous and wished him “good luck with that.” He then told her that he was the father of Esme’s baby, and Alexis was mortified. As Nikolas told her that he wanted full custody of the baby, Alexis continued to look at him in disbelief.

Alexis explained that Sam had been taken from her and she would never help someone to take another child away from its mother. She reminded Nikolas that his record as a parent was also lacking. Nikolas said that he would not repeat the errors of the past.  Alexis said the only reason he wanted custody of the unborn baby was to attempt to make up for his horrible mistakes with Spencer. Nikolas insisted that Spencer had cut ties with Nikolas, for good reason. But, Nikolas claimed that he had a responsibility to the unborn child. Alexis insisted that things simply do not work like that, and the parent had to take care of the child because it was their responsibility. Nikolas said that he wanted to protect the new baby from Esme. Alexis promised to find Nikolas an attorney with a good record on child custody cases, but she insisted that he not give up on Spencer as part of the agreement.

Spencer and Sonny walked into Wyndemere and were immediately met by Victor. Sonny said that Spencer would be living with him. “Like hell he is,” Victor responded. Spencer announced that the original date to remain in Victor’s care had passed.  Spencer added that if it were just Victor living at Wyndemere, he would consider staying but that he could not be in the presence of his father after everything that had happened.  Spencer waited for Victor’s response. “Go get your things,” Victor said.  Victor then turned to Sonny and offered him a seat in the living room which Sonny politely refused.  Victor said that he hoped Sonny would do the family a favor.  “Not even when hell freezes over,” Sonny replied. Victor insisted that he was willing to set his pride aside, but Sonny acknowledged that he was only there for Spencer. Victor said that he had hoped to reunite his family, and he hoped that Sonny would use his influence to help reconcile Spencer and Nikolas.

Sonny asked Victor if he thought that it was in Spencer’s best interest to be around Nikolas. He added that Nikolas had the opportunity to be a father. Victor replied that Nikolas was incapable of repairing Spencer’s trust, but he loved Spencer. Victor had hoped to use Sonny’s fractured relationship with Michael as leverage to achieve his point.  But, Sonny wasn’t having it. Victor stated that Sonny and Mike had repaired their relationship, and he wanted Sonny to give Spencer the same chance. Sonny maintained that both people have to be willing to work at it and want it and in this case, Nikolas wouldn’t work for it and Spencer no longer wanted the relationship.

Spencer returned with a small bag. Both Victor and Sonny found it odd that Spencer’s belongings fit inside this tiny bag. Spencer said that he had bumped into Demetrius, who had volunteered to have the rest of Spencer’s things sent to Sonny’s. He noted that Demetrius had headed back up to the North Tower.  “Not the North Tower, it’s closed,” Victor replied.  Spencer said that he had watched Demetrius ascend the stairs himself. Victor looked like he was up to something as Sonny and Spencer exited.

At General Hospital, Michael and Willow rode the elevator to the 3rd floor for their meeting with Dr. Randolph. Willow was excited about the bone marrow transplant donor. She remarked that normally when they got on the hospital elevators, she was overcome with a feeling of dread.  That was not the case on this particular day.

Martin attempted to bar Jordan and Dante from questioning Esme. Martin took the issue to Terry who was standing at the nurses station with Elizabeth. He said that his patient was in no condition for questioning and demanded that Terry intercede. Terry said that as long as Esme’s neurologist had signed off on it she saw no problem with Esme answering questions from the police. As Terry was speaking, Finn stepped off the elevator onto the 10th floor, and Terry asked him to double-check with Esme’s neurologist and then to monitor her condition as the police questioned her.

Terry was upset that she had to immediately catch up on all the work that Britt was overseeing. She couldn’t understand how Britt could be gone, and she and Elizabeth talked about how much Britt had changed. Terry cried, and Elizabeth offered to be there if she wanted to talk. Terry said that she and Britt had made a good team. Elizabeth agreed. Then, Terry received a notification that her next patient was waiting. Terry thanked Elizabeth for being a good friend.

Terry arrived, and she, Michael, and Willow sat around her desk. Willow extended her condolences. Terry revealed that if Britt were there she would want to concentrate on patient care and get right down to business.  She reviewed Willow’s lab work and looked concerned.  She said that Willow’s numbers weren’t where the doctors wanted them to be, and the chemo hadn’t worked as they’d hoped. However, she did say that the baby was healthy and strong. Terry wanted to schedule the transplant as soon as possible, and she suggested that with Willow being eight months pregnant, the baby should be delivered first. She left the room so that Michael and Willow could discuss it, but Willow wasn’t sure she wanted to deliver the baby early.

Michael did his best to reassure Willow until Terry returned with bad news. She announced that donors always needed a physical, and Willow’s donor had not been cleared by her doctor for the procedure. She said that a search for a donor would be resumed immediately and Michael asked her about other treatments.  “We have to consider them,” Terry said.  She reiterated that they needed to buy time to find Willow another donor.

Jordan, Dante, Martin, and Finn stood in front of Esme’s bed. Dante scrolled through photos of Cameron, Josslyn, Trina, and Oz, on his phone. Esme maintained that she didn’t recognize anyone. She grew agitated, and Martin asked Jordan to end the interrogation, which the commissioner did.

As everyone else left, Martin assured Esme that he knew how to have her set free. He asked Esme the location of where she had been hiding.

In the corridor, Dante and Jordan believed they could charge Esme with the revenge porn and that alone would carry a sentence.  But, Dante didn’t believe Esme could have committed the murders.  He said the evidence was leading them down a different path. Dante thought they needed to find out where Esme had been hiding out for months.

Elizabeth ran into Finn at the nurses’ desk, and he stuttered that he was only there to pick up a chart. Elizabeth stated that she had something to tell him, but was interrupted by Jordan and Dante.

Jordan wanted a statement regarding Elizabeth and Esme. Elizabeth said that she had already given a statement to the police and that nothing had changed. She maintained that she had been surprised to see that Esme was pregnant in the hospital.  She said that it had been too dark at the pier to see on the night she first encountered Esme on the docks. Dante noted that no one in any of the attacks had mentioned the attacker as being pregnant. Jordan revealed that they didn’t think Esme was the killer, and Dante thought it would be helpful to know where Esme had been hiding and why. Finn said that he thought that Wyndemere should be checked again and this time, thoroughly.

Back at the penthouse, Ava hoped that Nina would stop by Wyndemere whenever Sonny had to transport Avery. She was amused that Nina was with Avery’s father. Sonny arrived, and he told Ava that Spencer would be living with him for a while. Ava felt bad for Spencer, and she disclosed that Spencer had apologized to her. Ava also announced to Sonny that she was going to take Wyndemere in the divorce and she rushed off to talk with her lawyer.

Sonny took off his coat and sat down, while Nina rushed off to the kitchen to fix them drinks. When Nina returned with the drinks, she found Sonny staring at one of the papers from Britt’s box which had been on the table in front of him. She knew that something was wrong.  “Is everything alright?” Ava asked.  Sonny replied simply, “No.”

Nikolas was greeted by Victor when he returned to Wyndemere. Victor, holding up a slightly burned Christmas ornament, demanded that Nikolas tell him what had been going on in the North Tower.

Update written by Shane

Curtis met Portia at Haven Bistro. He told Portia that Trina had called him and was concerned about her mother’s safety after Britt’s death. Portia talked about all the bad things their family had been through. She was still reeling from Britt’s death. She told Curtis that she had admired Britt not only as a boss, but as a doctor and colleague. Curtis, wanting to shift the conversation away from talk of the past,  presented Portia with a calathea plant he’d gotten at the florist. He told Portia they symbolized new beginnings. Portia and Curtis both looked forward to the day when they would be wed.

Felicia arrived at the stables, looking very somber in search of Cody. She told him that Mac had been trying to reach him, and she burst into tears as she told him of Britt’s death. She advised him of exactly what the police knew. Cody said that life had never cut Britt a break. Felicia implied that this was something they both he and Britt had in common, and it was no surprise that they had enjoyed each other’s company for a while. Cody regretted that he had not simply been honest with Britt. He told Felicia that now Britt would never know the truth, that all he really wanted was Britt.  He thanked Felicia for coming to deliver the news in person. She said for him to thank Mac, because Mac had insisted that someone personally go to the Quartermaine’s to give Cody the news. She asked Cody if she could hug him and he said of course.  They shared a hug and then Felicia left.  Cody looked crushed and clearly felt alone.

Heather entered Ryan’s room at Spring Ridge, and he demanded to know where she’d been the night before. She said she had gone out for a bit of fresh air. Ryan commented that Britt had been killed by the Hook, and he realized that Heather was the killer. Heather said that someone had to protect their daughter from the killer. Ryan told Heather that she needed to confess so that their daughter could go free. Heather refused the idea, but insisted that she had done everything a mother could do to protect Esme.

Ryan then informed Heather that their little girl was going to have a baby.  Heather was thrilled and couldn’t wait to become a grandmother.

Outside of Britt’s room in the Metro Court, a reporter asked hounded Maxie with questions about Britt’s death. Brad appeared, yelling at the man, and Nina demanded that he leave the hotel or she would have him physically removed. He snapped a few photos as she pushed him, and he was gone. She thanked Maxie and Brad for meeting her there and informed them that the funeral home needed something for Britt to wear. Brad commented that Britt would love to hear people talking about her like a hero, and he suddenly got angry that she was gone. Maxie reminded him of how Britt had wanted them to be friends, and she suggested that they honor Britt that way by choosing her last outfit together.

The three of them entered Britt’s hotel room and found it empty.  The closets were also empty.  Nina made some calls and found out that Britt had her clothes sent to her destination and the rest of her things were put into the hospital’s charity donation bins.  Maxie and Brad were beside themselves.  Why would Britt have done such a thing?  They couldn’t understand it.  They spoke and questioned each other about Britt’s motives until Nina finally broke her silence.  She told them that Liesl had told her that Britt had late stage Huntington’s disease.  Maxie and Brad were speechless.  They showed a momentary moment of unity but that quickly dissolved into an argument over what type of outfit they would have Britt buried in.

Austin entered Britt’s office and found a crying Liesl packing Britt’s things. Austin advised LIesl that he would handle the packing.  He said that he would make sure what belonged to the hospital was returned to the hospital and what was personal would be forwarded to Liesl.  She thanked him for his birthday gift to Britt, and she asked Austin if Britt had been loved, to which Austin responded, “yes she was.” Austin chose to believe that Britt had changed her mind about leaving for good, and Liesl realized that Britt had planned on going away to die. Austin was sorry that Liesl had to hear that news from him.

Austin mentioned the incredible last week Britt had, including delivering a baby at the Quartermaine mansion and throwing an epic birthday party, all culminating in saving a life. He was sad that she was gone, but he believed that she’d picked a “badass way to go.” He then he made the mistake of mentioning that Esme had been admitted and was being held by the police there at General Hospital. After Austin left, Liesl picked up Britt’s lab coat with her badge on it.

Minutes later Nina entered Britt’s empty office. She responded to a text from Liesl, telling Nina to meet Liesl in Britt’s office.  “Where are you?” Nina responded to the original message.

At GH, Esme awoke and asked Elizabeth to remove the restraints.  Elizabeth said that she was not allowed to do that. Elizabeth asked Esme if she could remember anything at all. But, Esme said all she remembered was waking up in the hospital.

There was a knock at the door, and Dr. Kevin Collins entered. “I remember your face,” Esme said, but when Kevin introduced himself, she didn’t recognize his name. Kevin asked to be left alone with his new patient.

Kevin said he would explain how Esme knew his face, even though she did not know him, if she would answer some basic questions.  Kevin asked Esme if she recalled her name, where she had been, how she ended up in the water? She could not answer these questions. Kevin then asked her if she knew Spencer or Nikolas Cassadine.  She said she did not. Kevin then mentioned that Esme had previously cared for his brother Ryan, but as he was speaking they were interrupted when Martin barged into the room and demanded that Kevin “cease and desist” his questioning of his client by order of a Port Charles County judge. Martin advised Esme that he was her lawyer, and from that moment on she was to speak to no one but him. Kevin said, “far be it for me to disagree with the judge,” and he left. Martin asked Elizabeth for privacy, but Esme didn’t want her to go. Esme said that Elizabeth was the only one that had been very kind to her since she arrived. Esme asked about what she had supposedly done, and Martin mentioned a list of crimes, ending in murder and Esme appeared to briefly lose consciousness.

Elizabeth asked Martin for a minute with Esme, so he left the room.  Elizabeth advised Esme to simply rest and concentrate on her health and her baby.

Later, Esme was alone in her room and a doctor entered. Esme asked if she could have something stronger to help her sleep. The doctor closed the door and turned around, it was Liesl.  She said, “yes, that can be arranged.”

At the PCPD, Nikolas asked for a phone call, as he didn’t want Spencer to find out from anyone else about Britt’s death. Dante interrogated Nikolas about his involvement with Esme, and he suggested that Esme (since she is pregnant) had obviously had help staying hidden. “Who would have more reason to help than the father of her baby?” Dante wondered. Nikolas said that Dante was badgering him because he had nothing on him.  Dante said if that is the case, why are you getting so angry? Nikolas then left the police station because he was not being detained.

Kevin arrived to inform Dante that Martin had been assigned to Esme’s case. Dante doubted the legitimacy of Esme’s amnesia. Kevin said he needed more time to observe her and to consult with a neurologist, but he did believe that she had significant memory loss. He couldn’t say if the condition was short or long term. Dante was having a hard time believing that a pregnant woman could possibly overpower a cop (Rory) and a marine veteran (Brando).  He was determined to unveil the identity of the actual killer and bring them to justice.

Martin and Nikolas had a heated conversation about him being assigned to Esme’s case when Nikolas told him not to blame the judge. Nikolas said that he had pulled strings to have Martin assigned to the case. He then told Martin that Esme was carrying his child and that he knew she would be in good hands with a member of the family. Nikolas promised to double Martin’s normal fee until Esme gave birth, and thereafter triple it. Martin said they had a deal. However, they did not see Elizabeth approaching as Martin agreed to the deal. “Esme is in good hands with Uncle Martin,” Nikolas said.

Update written by Shane

At Kelly’s, Dante and Sam enjoy a quiet New Year’s Eve celebration.

Dex walks in to Kelly’s.  Dante and Sam wish him a Happy New Year.  Dex wishes them the same.  Dante asks Dex how things are working for his father and asked if there is any “residual friction.”  Dex asks why would there be?  Dante tells Dex that he saw his wrists and Dex holds them up and says they are just fine.  Dante says that might be, but Michael was very detailed in his description of what Sonny had done to Dex.  Dante gives Dex the opportunity to amend his statement that Sonny had nothing to do with his injuries.  Dex says that will not be necessary.  He then says, “I guess I will skip the hot chocolate.”

Britt arrives on the dock and complains because her boat is not waiting to take her to the airport and far away from Port Charles.  She sees the fireworks display go off from Pier 47 and enjoys them.  She remarks how much she loves fireworks.  She recalls Liesl telling her that she never has to be alone.

Dante and Sam’s conversation then turns to whether or not Dante has compromised his badge by treating Sonny differently than he would any other perp.  Sam has finally had enough of the discussion and she asks Dante pointedly, if cops sometimes step away from cases because they have a personal interest in the outcome.  Dante says, all the time.  Sam says have you ever done that.  Dante says yes.  Sam says, have you ever done that in a case your father was involved in.  Dante says absolutely.  Sam finally says, then you haven’t compromised your badge, you have gone out of your way to make sure that your badge and your oath have not been compromised.

Nearby, the Hook takes a swing at Josslyn and she pushes him away and runs only to fall because she is wearing formal shoes.  The Hook approaches, Josslyn regains her footing and tries to run but the Hook takes another swipe at her, Josslyn, realizing that the Hook is a woman, tries to overpower her and grabs but gets pinned against the wall.  Josslyn screams, “HELP ME!!!!!” Josslyn and the killer struggle over the hook.  Once again, Josslyn breaks free, but the hook punches her in the stomach, and she collapses to the deck of the pier.  The hook approaches, and prepares to finish her.  However, before she can do anything, Britt knocks her down and screams, “back off bitch!”  The hook then focuses her attention on Britt, the killer swipes at Britt but Britt blocks her assault with her handbag.  The hook is able to free the weapon from the handbag and prepares to launch a final blow when she is shot by Dex.  The killer falls to the deck, but quickly rebounds and begins to run. Britt screams for Dex to shoot her again.  But, Dex rushes to Josslyn’s side and asks her if she is injured and if she can walk.  Britt sarcastically says, “I’m fine, Thanks.”  Britt removes her phone from her handbag to call the police but Dex asks her not to, at least until he and Josslyn have made their escape.

Maxie walks back into the Haunted Star and tells Liesl, “well, that’s it!”  Everyone has headed over to Pier 47 to the see the fireworks.  She says it was a good party if she does say so herself.  Liesl was thrilled that Maxie and Brad did so much for Britt.  Maxie says, “Please, Britt threw her own birthday party, Brad and I just assisted.”

Carly arrives framed in the doorway of the Haunted Star and asks if she missed the party.  She says she knew she was late but she didn’t think she was that late.  She feigns disappointment.

Liesl and Maxie reminisce about Nathan, Peter and Austin.  Liesl tells Maxie that Nathan was taken far too soon. Maxie remarks what a good man Nathan was.  He was the perfect provider, protector, husband, father and partner. Liesl says that Peter was a horrible person who wanted Maxie to only see the best.  She added that Austin was just not the right man for Maxie.  She agrees.

After they left the pier, Dex took Josslyn to his apartment. Dex poured them both a glass of scotch, and Josslyn said she owed Dex for having saved her and Britt’s lives. Dex said that Josslyn didn’t owe him anything.

Dex said that he had shot the killer with a gun that Sonny had given him. He also produced a shell casing, and he said there was no evidence to tie the gun back to Sonny.  “Anything to protect the boss, right?” Josslyn snapped. Dex grabbed her and said that he had prayed that Josslyn wouldn’t die when he found her on the docks. Dex added that he had been afraid that he would never get to kiss Josslyn again. The two kissed passionately and slowly began to undress.  The two then had sex on the couch in Dex’s apartment.

The police finally arrive and find Britt on the dock.  They initially don’t believe her claims when she says she was attacked by the Hook killer.  The police say they have had multiple hook sightings already.  Britt then coyly points to the actual Hook which is lying on the deck and asks the police if all the other posers left something like that behind.  The police then take her seriously and order more manpower be brought to bear on the pier and docks, and a perimeter be set up to keep anyone from getting in or out.  The police interrogate Britt.  Britt tells them she was on the dock waiting for a boat, when she heard a struggle and then a scream.  She says she responded and found a young woman in distress.  She tells the police she fought off the killer, and both the killer and the young woman escaped.  The police drill Britt, asking her a series of questions:  who was the victim, where is she, where did she go, was she injured, did she get a good look at the killer and in what direction did the killer run?  Britt tells the police that she doesn’t know.

Drew arrives at the Haunted Star this time, interrupting some tender recollections of Nathan between Maxie and Liesl.  Drew tells Liesl what a wonderful woman Britt is and that she should be so proud of her.  Liesl says that she is proud of her.

Carly and Drew met up on the pier. Drew asked Carly if she remembered where they were the previous New Year’s Eve? Carly said that they were on the bridge, both mourning Jason. Drew said that he was done focusing on the past and instead wanted to look to the future. Drew added that he saw a great future in Carly’s eyes. Carly returned Drew’s affections and they kissed. Drew produced a bottle of champagne and they shared a toast.

On the deck of the Haunted Star, Spencer and Trina stayed near each other — to give the appearance that they were turning to each other. Spencer was thrilled that Britt had such a wonderful party and he recalled the days when Britt was engaged to Nikolas.  He said that he loved the idea of her being his stepmother because she wasn’t maternal in any way and she said never talked down to him.

Spencer leaned in to kiss Trina. But before they could kiss, they were horrified when they saw an extremely pale Esme in the doorway. Spencer asked where she had been. Esme collapsed before she could answer. Spencer rushed to cover Esme and to check her pulse. Trina said, “she’s pregnant.” Spencer put his coat around Esme, and he said they needed to get Esme to GH.

At Wyndemere, Nikolas brought Elizabeth up to speed on Esme’s escape. Nikolas told Elizabeth that Esme had started a fire and that as he fought the fire she ran passed him and straight out onto the turret.  Elizabeth demanded to know where Esme was at that moment.  Nikolas told Elizabeth that she had gone over the parapet.  Elizabeth didn’t believe Nikolas, it was obvious in her eyes and demeanor.  Nikolas then swore that Esme had raised her hands and fell backwards into the water below.  Nikolas was so upset that Elizabeth realized he was telling the truth.  Nikolas told Esme that he had searched the house, the waters and the shore but there was no sign of her.

Elizabeth grew panicked over the crimes she had committed, but Nikolas said that there was no way she could survive that fall. Elizabeth was adamant that she wouldn’t continue to cover up the crimes that she and Nikolas had committed.

Elizabeth’s phone rang and she took the call, it was Spencer. Spencer told Elizabeth that he and Trina had found Esme on the deck of the Haunted Star. He told Elizabeth she was suffering from hypothermia and that the police had been called and she would soon be in police custody.  Elizabeth, held the phone away from her face and looked at Nikolas as if to say that both of their lives were over.

Later, Dante appeared at the hospital. Dante questioned Spencer and Trina about Esme’s appearance. Elizabeth and Nikolas stepped off the elevator. Dante asked why they had come to the hospital. Spencer explained that since Esme had assaulted Elizabeth that he had called her to let her know that Esme was at GH.  Nikolas said that he had been with Elizabeth at the time she got the call.

A doctor emerged from Esme’s room in the ER and Dante identified himself and asked if he could have access to Esme’s room to question her. In Esme’s room, the doctor gave Dante a bag of Esme’s belongings which included a Christmas tree ornament. Dante asked Esme if she could tell him what had happened to her.  She seemed to attempt to speak but she was still shivering too violently to speak.

Later, on the docks, the hook reappeared from out of the frigid water, revealing a gash on her right wrist. The attacker took off her mask, revealing the Hook killer to be Heather Webber.

Back inside the Haunted Star, as Liesl was singing “Happy Birthday”, Britt reappeared and sang the last line – altering the words. Britt said that she had far too many reasons to stay in Port Charles than to leave.  She and Liesl poured themselves a toast of champagne, but before they could drink.  Liesl noticed that Britt’s dress was torn and then quickly thereafter inquired, “are you bleeding?”  Britt didn’t answer and headed toward one of the couches, as she got closer to the couch, she became woozy and then finally collapsed to the floor.

Update written by Shane

Michael and Willow began their New Year celebration very low key after putting Wiley to bed. Willow felt sorry for Wiley that he never could quite make it to midnight.  Michael remarked that it was already midnight in London and the two shared a laugh. Michael and Willow toasted with cider this year rather than Willow’s drink of choice, champagne; and they looked forward to spending New Year’s Eve together the following year. Willow asked Michael about the possibility that she wouldn’t be around to celebrate next year.

“There was a long time when I was alone, and now my life is so rich and so full beyond anything I could have ever imagined. And most of it came from you,” Willow told Michael. She credited his love, their son and even Michael’s dysfunctional family who live only steps up the driveway.  Michael asked Willow to hold all of those thoughts and left the room.  When he returned, he had his great-grandmother’s wedding ring.  Michael said that the ring rightfully belonged to Willow because neither one of them had wanted to have their marriage annulled.  Michael got down on one knee and asked Willow to marry him.  Willow was thrilled and quickly answered yes, Michael slid the ring onto her finger and the two shared a kiss during the final moment of 2022.

At Wyndemere, Laura asked if Nikolas had fallen so far that Victor was his only way back. Nikolas insisted that he only had himself to blame for his problems. Nikolas said that he felt it had been his life’s work to disappoint Laura. Laura assured Nikolas that nothing he could do would make her stop loving him.

“The Cassadines have been trying to take you away from me since the day you were born, and I am not gonna let them win,” Laura insisted. “Mother, I love you. For fighting for me and for whatever bit of soul that I have left. But it’s not just about me,” Nikolas said.

Nikolas said that he regretted ever returning to Port Charles and that he should have just remained dead.  Laura scolded him for speaking that way and she told him of how heartbreaking it was thinking he was dead.  She also mentioned that she believed that Spencer spirit had been crushed by Nikolas pretending to be dead and that he had never been able to find his way back from it.

Laura told Nikolas that it was never too late for him to start over, and she vowed that she would back Nikolas with every resource she could muster. “If you could have a clean slate….wipe it clean and start over, would you do it?” Laura asked. Nikolas didn’t think that was really possible. Laura emphatically said that it was possible. Laura pleaded with Nikolas, “It is never too late! It can start tonight. All you have to do is decide…do you belong to Victor? Or do you belong to yourself?” Nikolas walked Laura into the foyer at Wyndemere, and he promised he would think about what she had said.  “Throw Victor out. Throw him out, change the locks, and then you stand back and dare him to do his worst. Because you are not just a Cassadine. You are my son, and you are Spencer’s father. And as long as we stick together, we are going to be just fine,” Laura said adamantly.

Laura threw her arms around Nikolas, and she said she loved him.

Upstairs in the tower, Esme set fire to the Christmas tree in her room with the match that Demetrius had mistakenly left her.

Downstairs, after Laura had left, Nikolas heard the sound of the fire alarm sound. Nikolas rushed upstairs.

By that time, the fire was raging and Esme conceded to the baby that starting the fire might have been a mistake.

Nikolas appeared outside Esme’s door, and he rushed inside the room with a fire extinguisher. As Nikolas began to use the fire extinguisher, Esme ran past Nikolas with her mouth and nose covered and out onto the parapet.

Esme stood near the edge of the parapet. Nikolas pleaded with Esme not to jump, and he vowed that Esme would live a life of comfort once she got to Cassadine Island. Nikolas asked Esme to take his hand. Instead, Esme stood up on the rail of the parapet with her back facing the freezing waters below.  Nikolas begged Esme to step down from the parapet. Esme turned a cold stare at  Nikolas. “I’ve survived the drop from the parapet once before… and I’ll do it again,” she said. Esme then fell backward. “NO!” Nikolas screamed as Esme fell.

At the Haunted Star, Britt’s birthday cake was brought in but before she could offer a wish, Austin reminded her that she still had time to change her mind. Britt ignored Austin, and she blew out all but a few candles on her cake. Maxie said that since Britt was new to the whole “birthday party thing,” that she and Brad probably should have explained the rules.  Maxie explained that it is customary to blow out all the candles if you want your wish to come true. Nina immediately noticed that Britt was out of breath and blew out the remaining candles. Brad announced it was time to cut the cake, but when Britt attempted to do so, her hands were trembling too much to complete the task. Terry rushed over and offered to do the honors.

Afterwards, Liesl took the microphone and announced that she planned to perform the song that she had done at the 2014 Nurses Ball which she claimed had “brought the house down.”

On the deck of the Haunted Star, Elizabeth told Finn that she wasn’t carrying a baby. Elizabeth claimed that she had a miscarriage. Finn said he was sorry for Elizabeth’s loss.  Elizabeth told Finn that she hadn’t told the boys and Finn said that they would never hear it from him. Finn wished Elizabeth a Happy New Year, and he left to go back inside as Terry walked out to find Elizabeth. Terry put her arms around Elizabeth, and the two hugged. Elizabeth said there is so much I would love to tell you.  Terry said, “and when you’re ready, you will.”

On the opposite deck of the Haunted Star, someone hid behind a large crate and watched Spencer and Trina.

Trina soon heard the sound of jingling, and she asked what Spencer thought the sound had been. Spencer remarked that it had probably been the wind. Just then, a masked person cloaked in black appeared in the background with a hook in their hand. The person raised the hook and it appeared they would attack Spencer. But, Maxie appeared and she loudly demanded that Spencer and Trina step inside because the good stuff was about to get started.

Later, Scott took the stage, and he grabbed the microphone. Sonny jokingly pleaded with Scott not to sing. Scott laughed at Sonny’s joke, and he said there was one thing missing. “Presents?” Britt asked, and the place went crazy with applause.

Maxie took the microphone from Scott, and she said Britt’s closest friends had put together a special birthday present. Britt was handed a gift box by Liesl, which contained a remote control. A giant TV was brought in for everyone to view the video montage. The video showed a series of photos of Britt from her childhood through her adult years. The montage featured photos of Britt with Brad, Maxie, Nina, Finn, Austin, Epiphany and other friends and co-workers at the hospital.

After the video ended, Britt thanked everyone for the video and she whispered a thank you to Austin. Afterwards, Spencer made his way over to Britt, and he introduced Britt to Trina, and he recalled how special Britt had been to him.

Britt “joked” that if Trina was truly Spencer’s friend, Trina would make sure Spencer turned out to be nothing like her. Spencer looked Britt in the eye, and he said he would be proud to become the person that she had become. Britt and Spencer shared a hug, and Britt mouthed to Trina that Spencer was “the best.”

Afterwards, Spencer asked what Britt had said about him over his shoulder. Trina said she “would never tell.”

Finn started to leave. Austin asked where he intended to go. Finn recalled that you should be with someone you love at midnight, and he announced that he would go home to ring in the New Year with Violet.

After Finn departed, Britt then put her arm around Austin and thanked him for having kept quiet about her plans to leave during the countdown.

As 2022 drew to a close, Britt quietly walked out of the Haunted Star as “Auld Lang Syne” started to play over the speakers.

Elizabeth hugged Terry, and the two wished each other a Happy New Year. They resolved that 2023 had to be better than 2022. Maxie and Brad asked Austin if he had seen Britt. Austin only remarked that Britt knew how to make an exit.

At Kelly’s Diner, Sam told Dante that she preferred to have a quiet evening instead of attending the party on the Haunted Star. Dante was glad that he and Sam were alone in Kelly’s. Their solitude didn’t last long as they were interrupted by Josslyn, who said that she’d gone to Kelly’s to finally talk with Cameron. However, a waitress from behind the bar told Josslyn that Cameron wouldn’t be back until after midnight, and Josslyn started to leave. Dante encouraged Josslyn to join him and Sam at their table, and the three talked about their New Year’s resolutions.

This prompted Josslyn to compare the differences between Dante, whom she regarded as a good man and his father Sonny, who she said every time she thought she had seen his lowest point, he sank even lower. Josslyn went on and on about Sonny which clearly made Dante and Sam uncomfortable.  At some point, the awkwardness caught up with Josslyn, who apologized and said that she should probably get going.

Afterwards, Sam asked if she could make an observation. “I think you’re smart. But being hung up on Sonny, it’s a waste. You have better things to do with your time,” Sam said.

Josslyn thanked Sam. Dante invited Josslyn to watch the fireworks with them, but Josslyn said she wanted to get to Britt’s party before the end of the year. The three hugged, and they wished each other a Happy New Year.

After Josslyn left, Sam and Dante stood outside Kelly’s. Sam admitted that she hadn’t wanted to share Dante with anyone that night, and the two kissed to ring in the New Year.  Dante felt uneasy and asked Sam if he should have driven Josslyn to the Haunted Star.  Sam said that she thought that Sonny had Josslyn under his protection.

Later, Josslyn stood on the deck of the Haunted Star. The hook killer slowly approached Josslyn. The attacker raised the hook, and Josslyn reacted in horror.

Update written by Shane

In the Netherlands, Anna and Valentin meet with a former colleague of Anna’s, Andre Maddox. Andre is thrilled to see Anna and the two share a hug, while Valentin casts an envious glare. Andre tells Anna that it has been far too long since they have seen each other and Anna insists she needs his help in clearing her name. Valentin doesn’t understand how Andre can help them, as he is a psychiatrist. Andre agrees. Anna states that she is interested in any interactions he may have had with Victor during the time Victor was working on his projects involving the mapping of the mind.

Anna asks how he and Victor communicated during this time period and Andrew states that there was a secret base in Paris.  It was deep below the city and he was always blindfolded when they took him there, but he does remember accessing it via elevator and it was bunker-like, well below the city.

After Andre leaves, Valentin tells Anna he still doesn’t trust him. He also doesn’t understand why he would put himself at risk to help them. Anna says Andre has plenty of reasons to hate the Cassadines and to want to see Victor dealt with permanently.

At the Metro Court, Britt packs a suitcase to make her exit after her party. Liesl knocks on the door. She lets her mother in, and Liesl says that she thought she would help Britt get ready for the party. Liesl sees the dress Britt is going to wear and absolutely loves it. Liesl asks Britt what is with the suitcase. Britt explains she’s decided to take an extended vacation and is headed out right after the party.

Liesl begins to cry and tells Britt that she has betrayed her trust by telling not only Nina about her Huntington’s disease but Sonny too. Liesl says that keeping the secret had broken her. She didn’t anticipate that keeping the secret would be so hard on her. Britt apologizes for dropping that secret on her mother and says that it has been an honor and an adventure to be her daughter. Liesl takes a selfie of them to remember the moment.

At Wyndemere, Victor tells Spencer he was hoping they could have New Year’s Day brunch. Spencer stops him right there and says that he is kidding himself if he thinks that he will ever sit down at a brunch or any other event with his father.

Meanwhile, Nikolas checks on Esme, he finds that she is still not eating and tells her that her scheme is not going to work.

Nikolas then heads to the living room to find Spencer and Victor fighting over Spencer wanting to leave Wyndemere. Nikolas agrees it’s best that Spencer leaves. Spencer storms out, and Victor doesn’t know why Nikolas is not fighting for his son.

Back in Esme’s room, Demetrius checks on her and pleads with her to eat. He says he’ll have the chef make her anything she wants, even a steak if she wishes.

Trina meets with Ava at Kelly’s, and Trina mentions that she can always count on Ava. Ava shows her the photo of her and Spencer in the paper and wonders if she can count on him. Trina admits she still has feelings for Spencer, and she was on her way to break up with Rory when he was attacked. Trina feels she can’t tell Spencer any of this now. Ava tries to comfort her, but Trina vents that nothing will be okay until Esme is brought to justice.

Spencer enters, and Ava starts to exit. However, Spencer asks if he can speak to Ava in private and then wants to speak with Trina about Britt’s party.

Trina leaves them, and Ava begins saying that she doesn’t want to discuss his trust fund. Spencer tells her to shut up because he’s trying to apologize. Ava is floored. Spencer says that he put Ava through hell because he didn’t believe she was good enough for his father.  But, he confesses that now he believes the opposite is true.

Ava leaves after her conversation with Spencer.  Trina and Spencer then begin discussing how they can use Britt’s party as a way to put their plan into motion to catch Esme and bring her to justice.

Laura meets up with Martin at Pentonville. Martin thanks her for helping him in Ireland. Laura tells him that he didn’t have to come to Pentonville, but he wouldn’t let her face Cyrus alone. Cyrus enters the room and says that a visit from both of his siblings is a gift from God.

Laura asks Cyrus why he wanted to see her. Cyrus warns of a “serpent in her garden”, and then informs her outright that Deputy Mayor Ashby is on Victor’s payroll. It was she who pulled strings to get Spencer released, and that could look bad for Laura if the information is leaked to the press. Laura doesn’t seem shocked at all and Cyrus realizes that Laura was already on to Deputy Mayor Ashford. He suggests the two of them can work together to take down Victor. Laura gets up to leave, and Cyrus tells her that he’ll be here when she needs him.

Update written by Shane

Terry walks into Britt’s office and asks what she needs. Britt says that she received a message telling her to meet Terry in her office. Britt says that if this is someone’s idea of a joke she doesn’t have time for it. About that time, Austin bursts in saying that the three need to discuss work. The work of “saving lives.”

In the 10th floor lobby at General Hospital, Brad runs into Maxie, who is working on Britt’s party. Maxie explains that she is the official party planner because she has impeccable taste. Brad explains that Britt asked him to check her impeccable taste because he is a professional party animal.  Maxie is not amused.

Dante, arriving at GH in his dress blues straight from the memorial for Rory, checks on Heather, who is being evaluated for a return to D’Archam Asylum. Heather sees Dante and says, “Hello Detective Dreamboat” and indicates she could help him find the killer if he helps her in turn. Portia arrives to perform the exam for Heather and Dante leaves. Portia explains to Heather that this will be a routine evaluation to determine if she can return to D’Archam. Heather notices Portia’s last name and asks if she’s related to the young lady who was on trial for making a sex tape of her friends. Portia gives a Heather a cold stare. Heather quickly adds that it was “so obvious” that Trina was framed.

At Rice Plaza: Trina, Marshall, Curtis, Robert and Laura exit the public memorial for Rory. Marshall wonders when these killings will end. Spencer and Sam approach the group, and Spencer says, “It ends when we find Esme.” Laura inquires, “Who is “we?” Spencer covers and says he meant we, as in the people of Port Charles. The mayor reminds Spencer it’s important to support Trina, but it’s also important to let the PCPD do their jobs.

Robert receives a phone call from Dante, who says Heather has alluded to the fact that she might be able to help with the Hook killing investigation. Robert excuses himself and tells Dante he is on his way to GH.

Laura is asked for a comment about the Hook killer and the loss of Rory in the line of duty.  She speaks to the reporter and gives him her official quote. As she finishes up, Spencer asks Trina if she has changed her mind about their plan. Trina says absolutely not and they decide to step into the photo with Laura because it will definitely get them some attention in the press. So, Spencer and Trina step into the photo with Laura hoping that Esme will see it and it will drive her out.  The two of them are unaware of the danger they have just put themselves in because Esme is obviously not the Hook killer, as she has been locked away in Wyndemere for quite some time.

Curtis approaches Trina and Spencer and remarks, “That was a nice photo, but what was it really about?” They play innocent.  Laura asks to speak to Spencer alone. After Laura and Spencer walk away, Curtis suggests that Trina continue to hang out with Cam and Josslyn and to always remember how heartless Spencer can be. Trina listens, but she is also aware that she and Spencer have already put their plan into motion with the photograph for The Invader.

Marshall approaches and tells Curtis he will see that Trina gets home. Curtis thanks him and departs to meet Portia. Marshall warns Trina of Spencer and says that he is a liar and can’t be trusted. Trina tells Marshall that he has also lied to his loved ones. She pointedly recalls that some lies are told for the greater good.

Laura asks Spencer what exactly he and Trina are up to. Spencer tells Laura that he is simply trying to live up to the image she has of him as “a good man.” Laura says he is already living up to that image. Laura tells him that he needs to exercise caution with Trina because he has already hurt her once. Spencer says that he will never hurt Trina again and neither will anyone else.

Back at GH, Maxie and Brad try to figure out why this party is so important to Britt. Maxie asks him what he knows.  Brad says that he knows that Britt wants to be remembered as someone other than the person that was crushed by Cody when he parachuted onto the roof of the Metro Court. Maxie recalls that Britt wanted to party like it was 1999, so to speak. She seemed to begin to piece the mystery together in her head.

Mac, in his dress blues, joins Cody who is standing at the windows looking at newborn Britta Noel. Mac tells him he heard he had a hand in the delivery and got the mother and baby to GH. Cody brushes it off, and Mac asks why he always does that.  Cody says, “what?”  Mac says when someone gives you a compliment you act as if you don’t deserve it.  Cody says that is because he doesn’t. Cody wishes that Cody had a good dad growing up. Cody says if he had a dad like Mac, maybe he could have stopped him from making the one decision he will always regret. Dante interrupts them and tells Mac that Heather is claiming to have important information for them regarding the Hook killer.

In Terry’s office, Austin pitches the purchase of a new piece of diagnostic equipment that will cost millions. However, Terry says they can’t afford or approve it themselves. Britt suggests they pitch it to the board and let them decide. Terry senses something is going on with Britt because she is usually very budget conscious. Austin asks Britt if she wants to tell her or should he. But, Britt leaves to plan her birthday party. Terry instructs Austin to remain in the meeting room. She demands that he tell her what is wrong with Britt.

Robert interrupts and says he heard Heather has information for them. Heather says she can help them track down the Hook killer. Robert asks Portia if Heather is clear to go back to D’Archam, and Portia says she can’t find a single reason why she can’t be back in her cell by that evening. Heather offers to tell Robert what she knows if he offers to help her. Mac heads into Heather’s room, where she explains that she’s gotten to know Ryan and can get him to open up. In return, she wants to stay at Spring Ridge. Heather takes them through the myriad of reasons why she wants to stay at Spring Ridge.

Mac and Robert leave. Robert doesn’t trust Heather but he thinks Heather may be their best shot to uncover the identity of the killer.  He mentions to Mac the lack of leads they have on the case.

Later a cop enters and checks to make sure Heather’s cuffs are secure. He gets a news update from The Invader on his phone. At the same time, one of the nurses interrupts him to have the officer sign some papers. He exits but leaves his phone behind. Heather grabs it and reads The Invader article with the photo of Spencer and Trina together with Laura.

Back on the maternity floor, Dante admits to Cody he told Mac about Cody helping to deliver the baby. Dante says he deserved a gold star for it and for connecting him and Sam a few days back. Cody says that’s what friends are for and he wishes he had been a better friend to Britt instead of using her to get a prize that he thought belonged to him. He says that he and Britt made a great team delivering the baby. Dante says maybe 2023 will be their year.

Britt finds Brad and Maxie arguing over the theme of her party. Brad suggests a disco theme, but Maxie will not hear of it. Both of them are being obstinate. Britt tells them that it is her party, and they are both her friends, so they need to get along for her sake. Brad asks why it’s so important they get along. Britt basically says that she won’t always be around and she hopes if they work together on the party it could be something that will bring them together. They question what she meant by the fact that she “won’t always be around” and ask each other where she is going? Anyway, Britt’s efforts are successful as Maxie and Brad agree to work together to make this party a huge success.

Britt returns to her office, and Austin joins her. Austin suspects her party is her way of saying goodbye without having to say goodbye. Britt says, “What if it is?” Austin feels people deserve to know the truth. Britt tells him she’s busy and she doesn’t have much time. He leaves her.

Later, Cody walks in and finds a clearly frustrated and annoyed Britt.

At Carly’s house, Dex and Josslyn continued to talk. Cameron texted Josslyn to ask if she was okay. Josslyn ignored the text. Dex apologized for causing problems in their relationship. Josslyn asked what Dex had to be sorry about. She said that she was the problem in her relationship with Cameron, and that she should have already spoken to Cameron about her feelings. Before Dex left, he asked if Josslyn was sorry that they had kissed. She looked at him and smiled, choosing not to answer. “Yeah, me, neither,” Dex said.

At Volonino’s Gym, Sam told Cody that Dante hadn’t come home the previous night. She told Cody that she had communicated with him via text, but that she was concerned about Dante and how he was dealing with Rory’s death, since Dante had been the first person on the scene.

At General Hospital, Mac told Dante that an autopsy report had confirmed that venom had been found in Rory’s bloodstream. Dante said, “So, it’s official.  We have a serial killer on our hands.”

Mac’s phone rang and he was surprised to see that it was Cody.  Cody told Mac that he was with Sam and that she was concerned about how Dante was doing. He asked if Mac knew where Dante was.  Mac said that he was standing right next to him and the two cooked up a plan to get Dante to the gym.

Later, Mac and Dante appeared at the gym, and Dante quickly deduced that Mac and Cody had teamed up to get Dante to the gym. Mac thanked Cody for having helped reunite Dante with Sam. Cody asked how Mac was doing in the aftermath of Rory’s death. Mac said that it was always difficult to lose a brother in the line of duty.  Mac started to leave and Cody said that he wouldn’t bother him anymore and offered to delete Mac’s information from his phone. Mac encouraged Cody to keep his number and to call if Cody ever needed him.

At Charlie’s Pub, Drew confronted Denise about the lies Denise had told regarding the identity of Willow’s birth mother. The whole conversation got very heated and Denise got up to leave, but Carly intervened. Carly made excuses for why Denise had lied. Denise said that the truth is that Harmony, or “Lorraine,” had already had the baby when Harmony had joined the commune years earlier and that Denise had no idea who Willow’s birth mother or father were. Drew wanted to know if that was the case then why had Denise lied in the first place. Denise said that Harmony had been her friend and she was just trying to defend her and her baby from whatever had caused her to run.  Drew questioned what she meant by that statement.  Denise said that Harmony was very jittery and always seemed fearful of something or someone.  This story seemed to match up with the account that Phyllis had given Drew and Alexis previously.  Denise said she did not believe he should continue to investigate Harmony’s past because doing so could expose Willow to the same threat that had made Harmony so fearful.  On her way out of the pub, Denise left a pair of gloves on the table. Carly rushed to return the gloves to Denise outside the pub. Carly handed Denise the gloves, along with a cash payment for Denise’s story.

“Question: were you telling the truth to Drew? Was Lorraine really running from someone?” Carly asked. “She was jumpy around strangers. Always seemed to be looking over her shoulder,” Denise replied.

Also at Charlie’s Pub, Phyllis listened to Nina’s latest drama. Nina recalled that she had gotten into a verbal spat with Willow and Willow had become so upset that she had passed out. Nina told Phyllis that she hoped everything would be okay and that she had no idea that Willow was having such a difficult pregnancy.

Drew approached Phyllis. Drew asked if Phyllis had ever known Harmony to talk about a baby when Phyllis had known Harmony in New York. “Not that I recall,” Phyllis answered.

Carly came back inside from her conversation with Denise. Drew wondered if Harmony had stolen Willow from Willow’s real parents. Drew said now that they knew the story about Willow’s birth mother having died from an overdose was a lie that meant that someone, somewhere was wondering what happened to their little girl.

In the chapel at the hospital, Ava asked Elizabeth how she dared even enter a chapel.  “Aren’t you scared of being struck by lightning?” Ava said.  She promised that Elizabeth and Nikolas didn’t know the meaning of the word pain, but that they  would both be sorry.  Not only will you lose everything you cost me, but by the time I am done, you will have lost so much more,” Ava threatened.

Elizabeth largely stayed quiet as Ava hurled insult after insult until finally Elizabeth had enough.  “Oh, my God, Ava! Shut up! Not everything is about you!” Elizabeth snapped.

Ava mentioned that Nikolas had slept with Esme months earlier, and she was surprised when she discovered that Elizabeth already knew about it. Ava then brought up the baby Elizabeth was carrying. “There’s not going to be a baby!” Elizabeth replied. Elizabeth said that she had miscarried and that Nikolas didn’t know yet. Ava showed no remorse, and in the most cold way possible, she said that she was “sorry” for Elizabeth’s loss. On her way out of the chapel, Ava told Elizabeth not to expect any sympathy from Nikolas, because he only cared for himself and had no regard for others.

After Ava had left, Elizabeth remained in the chapel. She stared at the cross and spoke to herself. “What am I doing?  If the truth is supposed to set me free, then how come it feels like a stone around my neck? But I guess it’s not the truth that’s the problem, is it? Nope. It’s me and the choices I’ve made.” Elizabeth said she had torn her life down over the past few months, piece by piece.  “I lost Finn. I’m helping Nikolas hold a pregnant woman captive because I thought I was keeping everybody else from getting hurt. But now that cop is dead, and I know it can’t be Esme who’s the killer. This isn’t me. I’m a good person, aren’t I?” Elizabeth asked. Elizabeth paused. “Aren’t I?” she asked again.

At Wyndemere, Spencer walked into the living room where Nikolas was sitting. Nikolas told Spencer that they needed to talk. Nikolas recalled having served Ava with divorce papers. Spencer said that he guessed that meant that a reconciliation was right around the corner. Nikolas told Spencer that he had been unfaithful to Ava and there would be no reconciliation. Spencer assumed that Nikolas had been referring to the affair with Esme, and he was shocked to learn that Nikolas was admitting to a separate affair.  Spencer was outraged when Nikolas admitted that it had been Elizabeth.  He said that Elizabeth was practically family and he recalled Elizabeth’s stint in Shady Brook months earlier because she had been taking sleeping pills that altered her memory.  Spencer implied that Nikolas had taken advantage of her and her situation and asked how he would ever be able to face his friend Cameron again.  Spencer called Nikolas disgusting and said that their relationship was through. Spencer said that there was one “positive” thing that would come out of all of this.  He said that he was now determined to be a better man and a better father than Nikolas.

Nikolas told Spencer that he loved him and said that he was already a better man. Spencer left the room.

Nikolas’ phone rang. It was Elizabeth.  She informed Nikolas about her confrontation with Ava and that she had told Ava she had suffered a miscarriage.  She was relieved that she would no longer have to pretend to be pregnant.  “Now I just have to fix all the other mistakes I’ve made,” Elizabeth told Nikolas. “I know this is hard, but we made our choices. There’s no going back,” Nikolas told his best friend.

Later, in the alley behind Charlie’s Pub, Ava told Nina about having confronted Elizabeth. Nina (with great irony) said that she absolutely hated Elizabeth for what she had done. Ava admitted that she actually felt sympathy for both Elizabeth and Nikolas.  She said that she just didn’t believe she could go after them after they had just lost a child, throwing her plans for revenge for both of them up in the air.

At Volonino’s gym, Chase worked until Brook Lynn showed up. Chase complained to Brook Lynn that his singing career (which has pointedly told her–he doesn’t want) is all she ever wants to talk about.  He mentioned Rory’s death and how he hadn’t been there on the force to show Rory the ropes because of her fantasy of him being a singer.  Brook Lynn admitted that she had written the letter, but that it had been too little, too late.  Chase said that he wasn’t giving up on his career.  Brook Lynn said that he should do the single with Blaze and use the money to finance his efforts to get his badge back. Chase told her that if he needed extra money he would work extra shifts at a regular job.  He told her that they needed space.  Brook Lynn said that she would draw up the paperwork to end their relationship as client and manager and Chase told her to send it certified, they had no reason to see each other again.

Sonny and Nina called out Ava’s name as they rushed into the art gallery, followed by Dex. They were concerned that her door had been unlocked, and Nina wondered where Ava had been the previous evening. Nina said that she had even called Nikolas to see if Ava was at Wyndemere.  Ava admitted that she had stayed at the gallery all night and that Wyndemere was no longer her home. Sonny departed as Nina and Ava continued their conversation.  On their way out, Dex asked if he should arrange protection for Ava, but Sonny said no because issues with Nikolas would take precedence.

Ava claimed that she had been doing paperwork through the night, which had created a sore neck. Nina noticed there was broken glass all over the floor and she helped to clean things up. Nina asked about Nikolas. Ava revealed that Nikolas had served her with divorce papers, and Nina was shocked because she was sure that Ava and Nikolas were on the road to reconciliation. Ava disclosed that Nikolas had not only slept with Elizabeth, but Elizabeth was also pregnant. Nina was floored.

Ava vowed to shed no more tears for Nikolas and that she fully intended to take Nikolas for everything he was worth, thanks to Victor, who wanted to keep family skeletons in the closet. Nina asked Ava if she had lost her mind.  “You do not want to attempt to extort a member of that family,” she said.  But, Ava was undeterred.  She was focused on the task at hand and said that she was leaving to go to the pharmacy to get something for her sore neck.

Josslyn finished her daily run to find Carly just finishing up a phone conversation with Jax. Carly told Josslyn that Jax wanted her to come to Australia.  He thought it was important for her to get out of Port Charles with The Hook still on the loose. Josslyn said that she couldn’t walk out on her life. Carly was concerned about Josslyn’s safety, and she wanted Josslyn to be careful. She gave Josslyn strict orders to remain on the grounds, along with several other rules. She was also worried about Josslyn’s association with Dex.

Carly said that she had faith in Josslyn and that she would always be in her corner. She knew that Josslyn was aware of what life would be like with Dex because of Carly’s relationships with Jason and Sonny. Josslyn apologized for calling Jason an idiot for working for Sonny.  She also told Carly that after what happened the previous night with Spencer that she believed Dex would no longer be an issue.  Carly was shocked to hear that Spencer had been released from Pentonville early.  Josslyn filled her in on Spencer’s release and what had happened at Kelly’s.  The doorbell rang and Carly answered it.  It was Sonny and Dex. Sonny said that he wanted to assign protection to Josslyn and Carly was in full support of that idea.  Carly said that she and Josslyn had a lunch date with Michael and Willow.  Josslyn said she had decided to skip lunch and Sonny asked Dex to stay with Josslyn until he could get someone else as her full time protection.  He told Carly to give Michael and Willow his best wishes.

Outside Carly’s house, Sonny asked his man to send a gender neutral gift to Michael and Willow without a card. Inside the house, Dex thanked Carly for her assistance when he was wounded, and he promised to keep an eye on Josslyn until the new guard arrived. “That’s what I’m afraid of,” Carly remarked as she departed. Josslyn wanted Dex to leave, but he exclaimed that he had his orders. “It’s clear where we stand,” Josslyn insisted. “Aren’t you tired of pretending?” Dex replied. He told her that it was okay to be scared, even though he knew she was tough. He added that she was safe with him. Josslyn began to cry and ran into his arms.

At General Hospital, Michael and Willow were ready for Dr. Navarro to do an ultrasound.  There was some trepidation at whether or not they should find out the sex of the baby and they went back and forth discussing the issue. But, in the end, Willow said go ahead with her ultrasound, since she’d promised to disclose the baby’s gender at lunch.

Dr. Navarro was called to the room and performed the ultrasound. She announced that everything looked good, and they listened to the baby’s heartbeat. She showed Michael and Willow the screen and revealed that they were going to have a baby girl.

Nikolas found Elizabeth at the nurses’ station and demanded they talk. Elizabeth said that she was working and Nikolas insisted that he would wait.  Elizabeth told him that he would have a long wait because she had just started her shift. Nikolas wanted to know if Elizabeth intended to tell the police about his holding Esme against her will. Elizabeth finally agreed to walk to the chapel once she saw that the conversation was going to get incredibly personal.

Elizabeth said that she had only gone along with Nikolas’ plans because they had thought that Esme was The Hook killer. Elizabeth thought she was in too deep and worried that she would be charged as an accomplice. She said she felt trapped. Nikolas suggested that he hire someone else to take over as Esme’s  nurse. Elizabeth said that it wouldn’t matter. Esme would talk, and Elizabeth’s career would be over, even if she escaped jail time. Elizabeth saw no other option but to continue on as Esme’s nurse.  Elizabeth said that they would have to deal with all of the people they had hurt as part of their scheming and that things were about to get very difficult. Nikolas apologized and left, and soon after, Elizabeth headed to the door and found Ava standing in the doorway. “Going somewhere?” Ava asked before adding, “I don’t think so.”

Drew and Alexis met at Charlie’s Pub and sat at a table. Alexis announced that she had done some “digging” for him regarding Willow’s search for her mother and she had discovered after speaking with a local reporter that there was no Joan at the commune and there were certainly no heroin-related deaths in that county. Alexis and Drew were able to surmise from the available information that Denise had falsified the information she had funneled to Drew.

Drew flashed back to Carly saying that Harmony had told her that Nina was Willow’s mother, and Alexis noted that she was glad to have verified the information and uncovered the lies. Alexis added that Harmony had been quite the liar herself. Drew agreed that Harmony had definitely told lies, and Phyllis overheard them as she came to offer a refill on their coffee.

Phyllis asked about the investigation and noted that Harmony (or Lorraine as she had known her) had always kept secrets. Phyllis recalled the day she had run into Harmony at Charlie’s pub and said that the way she spoke to her seemed as though she were trying to rewrite history. She went off to see other customers, and Drew said that he wanted to question Denise again because everything she had told him seemed to be a lie.  Just as Drew made the statement about Denise’s lies, Carly walked in and overheard him.  She looked shocked and realized that Drew was on to the campaign of lies that she had set into motion.

Update written by Shane

Sam met Maxie at the café, and Sam questioned Maxie on why they were meeting.  Maxie mentioned that she thought that Sam would be the best possible person to provide her with some well-needed perspective on her current situation. She told Sam about what had transpired between Austin and Spinelli. The lying, the blackmail, the ordering of her and Austin’s compatibility report behind her back and Spinelli’s constant interference in her relationship with Austin. Maxie mentioned that she had trusted Austin when they first met but that trust had faded. Maxie confessed that perhaps Spinelli and Georgie had been right from the beginning and she should have trusted their intuition.  Sam advised Maxie to reassess her entire situation using her own intuition and then proceed accordingly.

Nikolas arrived at the gallery, startling Ava. He told her that he would always love her, and she replied wistfully, “If only that was all it took to fix things.” She invited him to join her for takeout, but he said he would not be staying. He admitted that he was only there to make a special delivery. He handed her an incredibly thick group of papers and a pen. Ava looked at the papers and all the happiness drained for her face.  “Divorce papers?” she snapped.  She believed that something had driven him to go ahead with the divorce and Victor was first in line. After some badgering, he blurted out that he’d had an affair with Elizabeth.

Ava wanted details of the affair, but Nikolas would only tell her that Elizabeth was pregnant. He was determined not to fail another child. He advised her to look at the very generous offer. Ava saw a letter opener on the table and picked it up. She swung at him, but only pinned the papers to the wall. “That’s what I think of your offer,” she murmured. “You could have killed me!” he exclaimed. “Remember that,” she shot back. He apologized, as he’d never wanted to hurt her. “God have mercy on you because you’ll get none from me,” she said coldly, and he left.

Josslyn arrived at Kelly’s with an armful of toys for donation, and Dex offered to help her, but she insisted that she could do it herself. With Spencer acting incredibly rude toward Dex, Dex asked Cameron to cancel his order, and said that he would gladly go to another restaurant. Cameron said that was fine, but Spencer demanded that Dex pay for his order. Dex smugly took out a roll of                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     cash and told Spencer that Sonny paid him well. Spencer punched Dex, who fell on the floor. Dex popped back up, and Spencer dared Dex to punch him.

Cameron separated Spencer and Dex, and Josslyn couldn’t believe that Spencer was already causing problems, freshly out of prison. Spencer explained that Cameron had told him that Dex had put Josslyn in danger, and he yelled at Dex to leave. Josslyn assured Dex that he didn’t have to listen to Spencer. “You have no clue what I do or don’t have to do,” Dex responded, and he left Kelly’s. Cameron didn’t want Spencer to hurt people because of anything he had said. Spencer believed that the attitude of his group of friends had changed in his absence, and he said he didn’t believe he was no longer wanted or needed.  Spencer then stormed out. Cameron suggested that, with all the craziness around them, he and Josslyn go somewhere nice, just the two of them. Josslyn said that sounded really nice but they needed to talk first.

Rory arrived outside at the address of an apartment that he had gained knowledge of by improperly looking through Dante’s filed. He knocked. The door opened when he knocked, so he announced himself and went in. The door slammed shut behind him, and the Hook appeared. From outside the apartment, Dante heard gunshots and called for backup. He announced himself and kicked in the door to the apartment. He found a man bleeding on the floor and checked for a pulse. Just then, Rory emerged, bleeding, from another room. He fell onto the couch and told Dante it had been, “The Hook.”

Trina entered Jordan’s office and asked if she’d seen Rory. Jordan informed Trina that Rory was probably around the station somewhere, as his shift had just ended. Jordan advised Trina to stick around because Rory would love to see Trina. “Not for long,” Trina muttered. She excused herself to go to Kelly’s, and she left. A few minutes later, Jordan’s phone rang, and she learned of Dante’s call for backup.

Jordan arrived at the apartment which was now an official crime scene.  The suspect lay on the floor with what appeared to be at least one gunshot wound to the chest. Dante explained that he had to have just missed the killer, and the woman they suspected could have jumped out the window. Jordan advised an officer to set up a 10 block perimeter to look for the killer. Jordan didn’t think Rory could wait for the ambulance, so Dante and the other officer carried Rory out of the apartment. Jordan put in a call for the medical examiner and crime scene unit to get to the apartment.

At General Hospital, Portia showed Elizabeth some of her options for wedding dresses. However, Portia was unsure about getting married in February, when “the Hook” killer was still on the loose. Elizabeth thought it would give everyone in Port Charles something nice to look forward to. Portia reminded Elizabeth that she and Finn hadn’t yet RSVP’d. Elizabeth said that she would definitely be there, but she couldn’t speak for Finn, as they had ended their relationship.

Gregory ran into Finn at the elevators on the 10th floor of General Hospital, he insisted on taking him to dinner. He knew that Finn hadn’t been doing well, and he told Finn that Violet had also picked up on it. Finn admitted that he and Elizabeth were through. Gregory wondered if Finn wanted to salvage the relationship, but the conversation was interrupted.

Jordan arrived with Rory, Dante, and the other officers, and Portia, Finn, and Elizabeth got Rory onto a stretcher. Dante revealed that they’d need the antivenom, as Rory had been attacked by the Hook.

At Volonino’s gym, Curtis helped Alexis out with the punching bag. He explained that they needed to “establish a winning mindset” before they tried to catch a serial killer. A short while later, Alexis emerged from the locker room after having changed. Curtis told her that the PCPD had been “tight-lipped” with any information about “the Hook” killer, and Alexis wasn’t sure what else they could do.

Dex arrived at the gym, and thought about Josslyn as he beat up the punching bag. Curtis returned a short while later and eyed Dex, deeming him far enough away to talk to Alexis. As Curtis explained that Ryan didn’t think that Esme was the killer, his phone rang, Jordan asked Curtis to pick up Trina and bring her immediately to the GH, as there had been another attack. While he talked to Jordan, Alexis got a text from Gregory that read, “911 at GH.” They ran out, Dex thought about Josslyn more as he worked over the punching bag.

Spencer ran into Trina as he exited Kelly’s. He sarcastically talked about how he wasn’t supposed to stick up for anyone anymore. Whatever he’d done, Trina said she was sure that his heart had been in the right place, and he probably just needed to work on his execution. He figured he could do that the next time he was in town. He revealed that he was leaving as soon as the terms of his prison release were met, as Port Charles was no longer a home. He said, “I’m going to move on, and I’m going to disappoint strangers” instead of the people he loved.

Curtis arrived with news for Trina that he said Cameron and Josslyn needed to hear, also. The three went into Kelly’s, and Curtis informed the kids that they needed to go with him to the hospital immediately, on Jordan’s orders, as she wanted eyes on all four of them. He revealed that there had been another attack. Trina asked who had been attacked, and Curtis reluctantly answered that it was Rory.

At the hospital, Alexis asked Dante if the Hook killer had struck again. Jordan ordered Dante to go get cleaned up, so he left. Jordan stated that an officer was fighting for his life after a cowardly and brutal attack, and she would do anything she could for justice. “I’ll be damned if we lose another one of our own, and you can quote me on that,” she added, and she walked away.

In the operating room, Finn, Portia, and Elizabeth worked on Rory. Finn ordered Elizabeth to administer the antivenom, but she reminded him that it was in short supply. Finn replied that the poison would kill Rory if the injuries didn’t, so she injected the antivenom into the I.V.

Jordan informed Dante that Mac was at the apartment, and Dante offered to see if Mac needed help. But , Jordan refused and said she wanted him to stay at the hospital, as he needed to see things through for Rory’s sake. Trina and Curtis arrived with Josslyn, Cameron and Spencer in tow.  Trina immediately asked how Rory was doing. Portia told her that Rory had lost a lot of blood, and he was bleeding internally. Trina wanted to see him, but Portia added that he was very weak. But moments later Rory was being wheeled to the elevators, and Trina ran over to him. He took his oxygen mask off and groaned that he knew it had been too soon to tell her how he felt about her, but he wasn’t sorry for doing it. “When you know, you know,” he said, and he passed out.

Update written by Shane

At Spring Ridge, Ryan informed Heather that he knew she had left town while carrying their child. She didn’t even try to hide it and arrogantly insisted that she had gone to such great lengths to hide her from him that he would never find her.  Heather was left completely dumbfounded when Ryan told her that she had been coming to visit him for quite some time. Heather then got very serious and said that it wouldn’t have been possible for either of them to have been parents. Ryan was certain that Heather had known that Esme had an internship at Spring Ridge. He explained that she had found him with something of his that had belonged to a former girlfriend. He admitted that he had always wondered what had happened to his “special chain of keepsakes.” Heather admitted that she had stolen it, and Ryan was visibly irritated. He declared that he would hold Heather responsible if anything landed in the wrong hands. Heather asked if that was a threat. Heather insisted that she had kept it in mostly good shape. Heather told Ryan that she had been wearing the chain on the day she gave their baby up for adoption.  Supposedly, The baby had grabbed the chain, and the keepsakes had scattered all over the ground. Heather had thought that she had retrieved all of them. Ryan stated that Esme had used the keepsakes to find him. Heather wanted to hear all about their daughter.

Heather added that she had wanted to protect Esme because the world was full of terrible people like Heather. Ryan spoke about a strong young woman and shared that he and Esme had a special relationship, but he confided that she had been missing for quite some time. He revealed that Ava had thrown Esme over the parapet at Wyndemere although he knew she had survived that incident. He assumed that Esme wasn’t able to contact him right now because she was wanted by the police. “We will make them pay,” Ryan said about the Cassadine clan. Heather noted that Ryan wouldn’t be able to do much from his wheelchair, when he suddenly stood up. “People tend to underestimate me,” he said. Heather smiled broadly and rushed to Ryan’s arms. She was delighted, and she wondered what else Ryan might be able to do. They agreed that they had to find out what had happened to Esme and punish those responsible.

At Wyndemere, Nikolas showed up in Esme’s room to grant her a wish. She was happy that she might go outside to chop down a tree, but Demetrius carried a pint-sized tree into her room. She was angry, but Nikolas acknowledged that he would never allow her to go out to run away. He reminded her that she was nothing more than a vessel until their child was delivered.

Downstairs, Spencer was searching through every liquor cabinet in the place looking for an assortment of alcohol to dull the pain of being brutally rebuffed by Trina. He continued to drink until Nikolas appeared. Spencer announced that Victor had insisted that they stay at Wyndemere. Nikolas replied that it wasn’t healthy for them to share living space. He spied the bottle, and Spencer quickly said that he didn’t want a lecture. He admitted to losing his appetite and running out on his dinner with Victor.

Nikolas offered to listen to Spencer and said that he loved his son. Spencer thought that Nikolas was a “distinct minority.” Nikolas began to name the people who loved Spencer. “She said we’re not even friends anymore,” Spencer blurted out. He told Nikolas about seeing Trina and Rory at the restaurant and that Rory had professed his love for Trina right there for everyone to hear. He admitted that he knew why Trina had rejected him, and he admired her for finding someone with the courage to confess his feelings.

Spencer said he felt like he was still in prison, and he knew when there was no hope. Nikolas reminded him of a childhood book he loved as a kid, a story of a baby bird that had been saved. “Hold onto hope,” Spencer recalled. Nikolas thought it was a good lesson. He didn’t think it was too late, but Spencer was sure that Trina and Rory loved each other. Nikolas revealed that it was hope that got him through the darkest times, even though he kept making mistakes. He thought that he and Spencer both had persistence as a quality, and they didn’t give up on those they loved. He said he knew that Spencer loved Trina.

Back in Esme’s room, she decorated the tree with whatever she could find. She felt alone. She wanted help from her father, and soon after, Demetrius walked in. He handed a box to her. She opened it up and found some ornaments. She said that it meant a lot to her, and he hoped she would stop crying. Esme told her baby that its grandfather had shown her the way.

In Terry’s office at General Hospital, Elizabeth told Finn that she was pregnant after he spotted the bottle of prenatal vitamins. “Another man’s baby,” he said. Elizabeth was sorry, and Finn didn’t believe her. Elizabeth sighed. She told him that it had happened after her return from Monterey when she’d needed someone to talk to. He was angry and reminded her that he had always stood by her. He asked who the father was. “Nikolas,” Elizabeth replied.

Finn stormed out of the office and into his own. Elizabeth followed, as Finn struggled with his rage. He finally smashed a tray of glass items onto the floor. She told him that she had just found out. Finn assumed that Ava didn’t know. He guessed that congratulations were in order, and he promised he wouldn’t bother Elizabeth anymore. He stated that he would call the commissioner to report his suspicions about Esme being at Wyndemere. But, Elizabeth insisted that Esme was not on Spoon Island, and that she oughta know because she had been spending a lot of time there.  Her words cut Finn deeply.  Finn couldn’t believe what a fool he had been.  Elizabeth told him that the boys didn’t know and she made him swear that he wouldn’t divulge the information.  He said he would tell no one and left.

Trina wandered around her house and picked up the bottle of perfume that Rory had given her. She thought about their conversation until there was a knock at the front door. It was Ava, and Trina was glad that Ava was there to stop her from making a huge mistake. Trina told her about the three-month anniversary dinner, and she confessed that her heart had been taking her down the path to more heartbreak. Ava told Trina that she had lots of experience in that area. She wanted Trina to have happiness. “Even if it leads to Spencer?” Trina asked.

Ava related that she’d heard about Spencer being out of prison. Trina admitted that she couldn’t pretend to have feelings for Rory, even with all the hurt that Spencer and Esme had caused. Ava also suggested that evidence had been brought to light that seemed to point to another perpetrator being the Hook killer and not Esme. Trina was frightened for her friends and family again because this gave the killer an air of anonymity again.

Ava told Trina to listen to her heart. She thought that her own heart was loud and clear about Nikolas, but she didn’t know if she would listen. After Ava had gone, Trina thought about her friend’s advice. “Welcome home,” read the text she decided to send to Spencer.

Carly arrived at Metro Court just as Drew met up with Denise in the lounge area to discuss Willow’s childhood. Before Carly could make her way to observe, Willow called out to her. Willow announced that she was there for a date night dinner with Michael, but she received a call from him to tell her that he couldn’t make it. She asked Carly to join her instead.

Carly and Willow sat at a table, and Carly asked about Willow’s condition during her first pregnancy. She quickly apologized, and Willow explained that she didn’t like to talk about it because she had had no support from anyone at that time. Carly grabbed Willow’s hands as Willow expressed her gratitude for Michael’s family and the one she had “yet to discover.” She asked Carly about the search that Drew had been conducting, but Carly replied that it was Drew who was running that show. Willow hoped that he would have some news for her soon.

Willow also expressed how kind Carly had been to her and how happy she was that her kids would have Carly as a grandmother. She thought that so much could go wrong. Carly asked if Willow was okay, and Willow replied that she had been thinking of her new baby. She hoped it would be healthy and happy. Carly said she was sure it would be strong and healthy.

In the sitting area of the Metro Court bar, Drew and Denise chatted. Denise stated that the people in the commune had been lost, and he asked if Willow’s mother had been the same. Denise recalled Kali, now Willow, to have been sweet, which was a small miracle, considering her mother. She told Drew about the pregnant, drug addicted Joan, who had joined the commune and then abandoned her baby. Denise said that she was sweet but troubled. The commune leader, Josiah, had asked Harmony and her husband Doug to take the baby.

Drew asked about the baby’s father, but Denise didn’t know anything about him. She was glad to hear that Willow had a good life, husband and family, and she added that Willow’s biological mother had died of an overdose. The conversation drew to a close, and Denise decided to stick around to enjoy a colorful drink from the bar. She confirmed that Drew had been paying for her visit.

Drew made his way to Willow and Carly’s table with an update, and Carly insisted on leaving them alone. Drew thought he should verify the information first, but Willow wanted to hear it. He told her what he’d learned.

Carly found Denise and asked how the conversation with Drew had gone. Denise replied that she had handled the situation exactly as Carly had wanted her to.

At Wyndemere, Spencer received Trina’s text message, and he smiled at Nikolas. He announced that he wouldn’t have to drink anymore. “Hold onto hope,” Spencer said and he exited the room, leaving Ava standing at the door.

Update written by Shane

At the Quartermaine gatehouse, Michael told Willow that he thought that people should know about her diagnosis, but Willow stubbornly argued that she wanted to do things her way. Michael reminded her that she had just fainted, but she blamed the whole thing on Nina. She went even further to blame Sonny for supporting Nina because she knew this would distract Michael. Willow thought that Michael’s anger with Sonny was only hurting him. Michael insisted that his primary focus was on Willow and helping her to fight her cancer, but Willow believed otherwise.

At Dex’s place, Dex told Josslyn that he had been trying to do the right thing, and she told him she wanted honesty. He grabbed her and began to kiss her until they were interrupted by a knock at the door. It was Sonny, who called out that he knew that Dex was home. Joss and Dex tried to come up with a plan, and finally Joss hid and Dex opened the door. Sonny barged in and Dex said that he was in the middle of something. He suggested that he and Sonny meet at Sonny’s office instead, which only made Sonny want to know what was going on there at his apartment.  “Why do you want to get rid of me?”  Sonny said.

As Josslyn hid, Sonny interrogated Dex about everything that had happened after he was shot. Sonny suspected that Dex was hiding something. Dex tried to explain that he had located a secure spot on the Quartermaine grounds where someone had taken care of him. He refused to divulge the person’s name, but Sonny insisted that he tell him. Before Sonny could press Dex anymore, Josslyn emerged and said, “It was me.”  She told Sonny it had been her who had helped Dex but pointedly did not say where she had found Dex. Sonny was less than pleased that Josslyn had become involved in what could be a criminal matter. Dex asked her to go, but Josslyn went off on Sonny before leaving. She told Sonny that he was a pathetic person for completely disregarding Dex’s health because he was too focused on whether a trail of evidence could lead back to him.  She didn’t understand why Dex remained loyal to Sonny when the last thing Sonny would do was exercise any loyalty to Dex in return.  Sonny offered to take her home but she refused.

After Josslyn had gone, Sonny was livid. Dex stated that he hadn’t planned to run into Josslyn on the evening of the prison transport, but she had found him on the grounds of the boathouse. He added that later, she had taken him to her dorm. “Big mistake, Dex,” Sonny yelled. Dex insisted that he would never have involved Josslyn had he been in his right mind.  Sonny asked if he was delirious and Dex replied that he had been shot so he definitely was delirious and in shock.

Sonny said that he had come there to offer Dex a job which would be a significant promotion in his organization.  But, Sonny wondered if he had made a mistake thinking that Dex was ready for it. He outlined the possibility of his facilities being used for unofficial exports. Dex replied that he was up for it.  Sonny implied this would be Dex’s last chance to prove himself and said there was “no more room for mistakes.”

Shortly after, Michael showed up, and Dex revealed that Sonny had just been there. Michael offered an envelope to Dex that he said was his severance pay and Michael asked Dex how quickly he could pack and leave town. Dex told him about the upcoming illegal activity that would be occurring in Sonny’s facilities. Dex maintained that there would never be a better opportunity to take Sonny down than the upcoming shipments that would be moving through Port Charles.

Robert stared at a photo of himself and Holly as he sat in his office. There was a knock at the door, it was Olivia.  She said she wanted to check in on him and offer her sympathies for Holly being ripped out of his life again right after he she had reemerged after years. Robert divulged that Holly had a long road ahead of her in recovery, but she would pull through. Olivia was more concerned that Holly had betrayed Robert. Olivia didn’t think that Robert would ever be able to trust Holly again and Robert admitted he had some very difficult decisions ahead.

As Cody stepped off the elevator at General Hospital, he received a message that Mac wanted to see him at the Metro Court bar. Nearby, Britt and Austin were speaking about her birthday party that she was planning for herself because she had never had one. Cody asked if he would be invited. Britt glared at him and sarcastically suggested that he concentrating on playing the field. The two argued, and finally, Britt told him they had no future and she walked away with Austin.

Heading into Britt’s office, Austin wanted to know what had just happened, but Britt didn’t want to discuss it. She said that she wanted her party to be on the Haunted Star because she didn’t know how many birthdays she had left. Austin pointed out that this would not be Britt’s last birthday, and she told him that she was so angry about her condition. She fumed that she had the curse of being Faison’s daughter had also brought her this disease. Britt said that she didn’t fear death but that she did fear “being a burden” to others.

Austin accepted Britt’s invite for himself and said that Maxie would be his plus one for Britt’s party.  Britt explained that she would be leaving Port Charles right after the party in order to protect her privacy. Austin mentioned the exchange with Cody but Britt refused to speak about it.  She said that she was sparing people having to deal with a condition that would rob her of her ability to care for herself in a matter of years, possibly even months.  Austin said she actually wasn’t sparing people, she was being selfish.  Britt was furious with his choice of words and Austin quickly backpedaled.  Austin said that he shouldn’t have used the word “selfish,” that was too harsh.  He said that she was being too proud.  He told about his own father, who had avoided conversations that were uncomfortable, and then by the time he was ready to broach the subject, it was too late.  He said that Britt was making decisions for people in her life that they should be allowed to make for themselves.  He then joked about what the dress code would be to lighten the moment which had gotten extremely heavy.  Britt playfully joked back and told Austin to have Maxie pick out his outfit.

Drew stopped at Carly’s house to let her know that one of his contacts had found a friend of Harmony’s from the Peace and Love Commune, a female firefighter named Denise McKenzie.  He hoped she would be able to fill in some of the dots on how Harmony had “adopted” Willow. Carly hoped that Drew wouldn’t be disappointed, but she stopped him from calling Willow to give her the news. Carly told Drew about Willow’s fainting and suggested that he talk to Denise first. He mentioned how so many people had lied to Willow in the past. Carly was distracted as she realized she was one of those people as well, and she told Drew about Nina’s spreading the lies about Carly having an affair with Brick. She admitted that it had been the reason for her telling Sonny about her and Drew. As they shared a kiss, Josslyn walked in, and she recalled Dex’s kiss in her mind. Carly said she was looking forward to when she no longer had to hide kissing Drew. “I hear ya,” Josslyn replied, thinking of her feelings for Dex, which she also has to keep on the down-low.

Later, after Drew and Josslyn had left, Carly phoned Olivia to ask for a favor. She wanted to know immediately when Denise McKenzie checked into the Metro Court.

Mac, Felicia, and Laura sat at a table at the Metro Court. restaurant. Mac suspected that Robert was brooding in his office. Valentin stopped, and Laura informed him that Holly was “holding her own.” Mac accused the Cassadine family of being behind all that had transpired, especially where the Ice Princess was concerned. “Where there’s trouble, there’s Victor,” Mac said.

Valentin told Mac not to assume where Valentin’s loyalties lie, but Mac warned him not to be too close because Victor would be going down. Felicia and Laura exchanged glances. Mac left, and Valentin sat down. Laura noted that Robert had suspected Holly of passing information to Victor because no one had been able to reach Ethan. Valentin thought that he could help, but Felicia quickly shouted out for him not to do that. She stated that everything was not as it seemed, and she suggested that Laura talk to Robert. Laura invited Valentin to get in touch with her for dinner, and she left.

Valentin thought that his contacts could help in locating Ethan. Felicia admitted that Lucy was also a hostage of Victor’s after Valentin guessed, and she told him what had been suspected of happening at the pier the day that Lucy had disappeared. Valentin demanded to know where Anna was, as she needed to know. Felicia wrote down a name on a piece of paper and handed it to Valentin. She told him that the person would know how to get in touch with Anna. Valentin opened the paper, and his eyes widened. He ripped the paper and dunked it into his drink. Felicia told him it wouldn’t be easy.

Nearby, Mac met with Cody at the bar and bought him a drink. Mac divulged that the necklace was missing and presumed destroyed in the fire. Cody couldn’t believe that he’d lost another inheritance, and he told Mac a story about breaking in a wild mustang before getting tossed onto the ground with both a broken wrist and pride. He said that he was back to having nothing, and he wondered about always making wrong choices. Mac told him that money wasn’t everything, and Cody was not the same man as his father, whose only good had been to provide Cody with an inheritance.

Cody was about to say something, but Felicia interrupted and said that she wanted to leave. Cody remarked that the DNA test result had been his loss. “Ours, too,” Mac replied.

As Robert sat and stared at the necklace in his office, there was another knock on his door. It was Laura.  She told Robert that Victor had to be brought down and they needed to redouble their efforts.

Drew visited with Willow to make certain that she was behind him one hundred percent in his search for her family. He hoped he wouldn’t disappoint her. Willow confirmed that she wanted the answers and was 100% in support of his efforts.

Update written by Shane

In Ireland, Anna and Valentin are reunited at an acquaintance’s house where Anna is staying.  Valentine arrives and calls out for Tiffany.  “Tiffany are you here?”  The second time he asks Anna says hello stranger and slides her hand down the back of his neck.  The moment is ruined quickly when Anna and Valentin answer the door to find Martin. He admits hacking into Valentin’s personal information in the hopes that he would lead him to Lucy’s killer. Anna again insists that she did not kill Lucy. Martin finally admits that he is beginning to believe her. He assumes that they are looking for the real killer and he wants to help them in any way he can.

There’s another firm knock at the door and someone screams, “U.S. Marshals, open up!”  Agent Whitten stands at the front door, he has followed Martin to Ireland.

Martin answers the door, and Whitten barges in without a warrant and demands to know where Anna is. Martin has no idea, so Whitten asks what he’s doing here. Martin explains he came here to be alone and grieve Lucy’s passing. Whitten demands his agents search the house. Martin tells them no one is searching anything until he sees a warrant. When he finds out they have no warrant, he suggests they wait outside because he didn’t give them permission to enter. The agents leave, but Whitten stays and tells Martin that standing in his way is a bad move, and orders him to tell him where Anna is. He places his hand on his gun, and Martin scoffs that he can’t shoot an unarmed man. Valentin appears and tells Whitten to stop, and that Martin followed him knowing he was looking for Anna, but she’s not here. Whitten refuses to believe that. At that point, Anna puts a gun to Whitten’s back and orders him to take his hand off his gun.

Whitten says they won’t get away with this. Anna disagrees and knocks the agent out with a blow to his head. Later, Martin calls for help, and the other agents burst in, and Martin explains Whitten just collapsed. Meanwhile, Valentin and Anna escape thanks to Martin’s diversion. Back at the house, Whitten regains consciousness and demands Martin be arrested.

At Wyndemere, Victor thinks with Spencer home the Cassadine’s should host a huge Christmas dinner to celebrate.  Spencer asks Victor to wait with the large scale plans because his father has even said whether or not he wants him there.  Nikolas says that in fact he is not ready for Spencer to live there with him at Wyndemere.  He says that their relationship is too volatile and that they can’t be in the same room without Spencer going for his throat. Nikolas explains his long term goal is to save their relationship, and they must maintain some distance for the time being. Victor reminds Nikolas that he has to watch over Spencer per his release conditions, so Nikolas says Victor will have to leave too. He suggests they get a room at the Metro Court. Victor calms Spencer down and suggests they go to the Port Charles Grill for dinner. Victor and Spencer leave, and Nikolas clears a table in the hallway of its contents, smashing everything to the floor and screams, “Damn you, Esme!”

At the Port Charles Grill, Rory and Trina enjoy a three-month anniversary dinner. He asks her about her work at the museum, and she tells him about a new exhibit she’s working on. She asks what he’s doing on Christmas. He has to work in the morning and spends the afternoon with his family. He asks if she’d like to come with him. She’s a bit surprised that he wants her to meet his parents, but she agrees.

Dessert eventually arrives and they share it. Trina tells Rory that he makes her feel so special. Rory tells her she is exceptional, and that he loves her. Trina looks shocked, as does Spencer who has just entered the restaurant and heard Rory confess his love for Trina.

At Spring Ridge, Jordan and Ava, question Ryan. Jordan is curious about what Esme said to him when she visited him into his room at General Hospital. Ryan communicates through blinking, the letter board and his caretaker that they were close, and she was worried about him. When asked if Esme is capable of murder, Ryan answers yes.

Jordan shows him the letter the Hook killer penned to the paper and asks if Esme could have written it. He says no. Ryan explains the killer wrote the letter, but it’s not Esme. The killer used the words me and mine, and Ryan says that Esme has no one. Ryan also wonders why Ava is wearing her wedding ring when it’s obvious she and Nikolas are over. Ava asks how he knows that. The caretaker explains Ryan follows the news and gossip columns. Ryan wants Ava to come back to him. Ava tells Ryan that her marriage is none of his business.

Sonny visits Heather and asks her what she knows about Dex.  Heather describes Dex down to the last detail and says if she saw him again she could easily point him out.  “That’s unfortunate,” Sonny says. Sonny tells Heather that Sonny tells Heather it would be wise for her to forget everything she knows. He threatens her and tells her that even in minimum security prisons horrible things can happen. He tells her to take care of herself as he leaves her cell.

Later, Sonny joins Jordan and Ava, in the common room as they question Ryan.  Ava tells Sonny she is participating with the PCPD to try and profile the Hook killer.  Sonny asks Jordan if she believes that Esme is the killer.  Jordan, who had once been operating under the theory that Esme was the principal suspect now doesn’t seem so sure.

Sonny notices that Ava seems jumpy and before he leaves he tells Ava that if she is going to participate with the PCPD to draw up this profile, she needs to find a way to keep Ryan out of her head. Ava confesses it’s not just that, she tells Sonny that she and Nikolas are having problems.  Sonny tells Ava she needs to ditch Nikolas for good.  Sonny says he is nothing but bad news.  He then leaves her to think about what he has said.

Later, back in his cell, Ryan is visited by Heather, who refers to him as “lover.”

Update written by Shane

At General Hospital, Portia informed Stella that everything looked good on her annual checkup. Marshall was with Stella, and Portia took the opportunity to ask (in front of Stella) if he had given more thought to genetic counseling. Marshall tried to reassure Portia that he didn’t need a reevaluation and that he was at peace. Marshall politely asked Portia to respect his wishes.  Stella too agreed that Portia should respect Marshall’s privacy.

In Jordan’s office at the PCPD, Curtis hand delivered an invitation to his and Portia’s wedding. Curtis grew angry when Jordan said she couldn’t “protect” Curtis’ family.  A poor choice of words from Jordan because it left Curtis believing she was speaking about the Hook killer and Trina, when she was actually speaking of Trina’s true paternity.  Curtis yelled at Jordan, and he accused her of keeping secrets from him again. Rory entered to provide Jordan with reports, including one for her to sign off on which detailed police plans for the city on Christmas Eve. A furious Curtis left as Jordan would not give him any details on what she had meant by her comments. On Curtis’ way out, he told Jordan not to forget to RSVP to the wedding. Later, Jordan stared at the invitation for a long time before she eventually used a pen to check the box marked “regretfully declines.”

At Rice Plaza, Ava took Trina shopping. Rory appeared, and Ava left them alone for a moment. Rory asked Trina to go with him to a nice dinner for their three-month anniversary, which Trina seemed to have forgotten.

Trina thanked Rory for having always believed in her innocence, and they finalized plans for dinner. Rory left, and Ava and Trina picked up their conversation where they had left off. Ava asked Trina to tell her what was on her mind, and Trina admitted that she hadn’t been able to stop thinking about Spencer. Ava remarked that Spencer was still weeks away from being released from Pentonville and that Trina could use that time to prioritize and take stock of her life and what she wanted from it. Ava said she envied Trina. Ava said that having a man who worked an honest job was a blessing.  She added that complicated men create nothing but chaos. Ava thought it was best if she and Trina avoided those kinds of men altogether. The two parted ways.

Also at Rice Plaza, Eileen had whispered to Victor that the necklace had been destroyed. Victor reminded Eileen that her primary function was to keep Laura distracted, and Eileen replied that she had pulled the necessary strings.

Victor walked away, and struck up a conversation with Ava. The two talked about love, and Ava accused Victor of having never experienced true love. Victor said that when Ava was free from Nikolas, perhaps there would be hope for Victor and Ava. Ava pointedly reminded Victor that her marriage to Nikolas wasn’t over, and she asked what Victor would use to hold over Nikolas’ head, since Esme was still alive. Victor remarked that he wouldn’t need to coerce Nikolas into a divorce because Nikolas was already showing signs of moving on.

At Pentonville, Cyrus noted that Spencer had kept his distance since Victor’s visit. Spencer naively said that Cyrus had been out of line for having suggested that Victor was responsible for the attempt on Laura and Martin’s lives, and he defended Victor.

Cyrus hoped that his friendship with Spencer would continue after Spencer was released. Cyrus then produced a ring-sized box, and slid it across the table. Spencer said that he was uncomfortable taking a gift from Cyrus, who revealed that the gift was for Trina. It was a pair of white, turtle doves.

Spencer said that Trina would love them. However, he thought that he had caused Trina enough pain and had decided to stay away from Trina forever. Cyrus encouraged Spencer to take the gift and for Spencer to follow his heart. Just then, Victor entered the room, and he scowled at Cyrus. Cyrus started to leave, but Victor asked him to stay to hear what he had to say. “I have some news about my great-nephew’s future,” Victor exclaimed.

Elsewhere at Rice Plaza, Alexis tried to get Finn to open up to her about where things stood between him and Elizabeth. Finn informed Alexis that the man Reiko had an affair with had been Elizabeth’s father.  Alexis asked Finn to tell her more and asked where that left Finn and Elizabeth.  But, Finn did not answer her inquiries.

Their talk then turned to Alexis’ coverage of the Hook killer, and Alexis said that while it was not at all abnormal for Elizabeth to be on the pier waiting for a launch to Wyndemere, she couldn’t understand why Esme had been spotted there.  She wondered aloud what Esme had been doing there and why she hadn’t been seen since.  Finn said that he knew there was a history between Elizabeth and Nikolas and that Elizabeth trusted him.  But, Finn made it clear that he did not trust him and couldn’t stand the fact that Elizabeth did.

At Wyndemere, Nikolas had phoned Elizabeth to check on Esme. Elizabeth was worried when she found Esme “unconscious” on the bed after learning that Esme’s prenatal vitamins had all disappeared. Elizabeth and Nikolas thought that Esme might have swallowed the entire bottle of vitamins, and Elizabeth said that if that were true, Esme’s stomach would need to be pumped. Esme jumped up, and screamed at Elizabeth to stay away from her.

Esme said she had thrown the bottle of vitamins away, but not before she had taken one. Elizabeth took that as a sign that Esme cared about the baby. Esme swore that she wasn’t the Hook killer, and she told Elizabeth to ask Nikolas what had really happened on the night Esme had gone over the parapet. Esme implored Elizabeth to ask how Ava was involved as well.

Elizabeth wanted to know what she meant but Nikolas convinced her to return to General Hospital to get more prenatal vitamins.  Nikolas assured Elizabeth he would explain everything later.  Elizabeth left and Nikolas glared at Esme.  “That was a mistake.”

Nikolas wanted to know what Esme wanted.  Esme said that she wanted a Christmas tree, a real one, and that she wanted to pick it out from the Spoon Island grounds.  Nikolas scoffed and left the room, coldly. Once downstairs, Nikolas heard a knock at the door. Nikolas opened the door. Finn was there waiting.

At Spring Ridge, Heather was stunned that Jeff had come to visit her. Jeff told Heather to stay away from his family, and he mentioned Heather’s run-in with Cameron at Kelly’s. Heather said that Jeff didn’t care about his family, and never had.

Just then, Ryan was wheeled into the room. Jeff glanced at Ryan, and he asked if Ryan was who Jeff thought he was. “The one and only,” Heather remarked. Jeff again warned Heather to stay clear of his family, and he started to leave when Heather reached for his hand. Jeff seemed repulsed by Heather and left.

After Jeff left, Heather approached Ryan. “If you could speak, I imagine we’d have quite a lot to discuss,” Heather told Ryan, who blinked his eyes once in response. After Heather walked away, Ryan made a fist.

Update written by Shane

Dante arrived at Pozzulo’s and knocked on Sonny’s office door. Sonny ended a call with Brick, and Dante thanked him for Thanksgiving dinner. Dante admitted that Michael had been right about Sonny having Dex abducted and beaten, and he admitted that he’d covered for Sonny. Dante said that the line between his love for his father and his duty as a cop was starting to blur, as he would have pursued Dex’s case more aggressively if the suspect had been anyone else. He added that he needed Sonny to know that he was aware what Sonny had done. Sonny didn’t see the problem because he had never asked Dante to cover for him and said that he never would.

Dante wanted to know about Sonny’s involvement in Anna’s escape. Sonny didn’t have a response to that question and Dante hoped that Sonny had been very careful. Dante said that he wasn’t out to get Sonny (like his brother Michael) but he intended to keep his oath to uphold the law. “I wouldn’t expect any less,” Sonny said. Sonny wanted Dante to know that no matter what happened in the future he wouldn’t love Dante any less.  Dante told Sonny that he loved him and then gave him a hug.  Dante then left.

At Dex’s apartment, Josslyn dressed Dex’s wound in fresh bandages and said that it was healing well. When she was done she told him he could put a shirt on. He apologized and remarked that he hadn’t noticed that it made her uncomfortable.  She had, after all, seen him in less. “You’ve even slept in my bed,” she replied. Dex said it was a shame that he had been so feverish that all he could do was sleep. “There’s always next time,” Josslyn joked. She advised him to take it easy and limit his activity, as she’d done some research on gun shot wounds. She promised not to bail on him before he was fully healed. Dex recalled his conversation with Michael about keeping Josslyn at a distance, and he told her that she needed to leave and never return.

Josslyn said that she needed to get more bandages and antibiotic ointment for Dex, but he insisted that he could order those things online. He said that he was trying to do the right thing, but she demanded honesty. “You want honest?” he asked, and he kissed her. At that moment, there was a knock, it was Sonny, who instructed Dex to open the door.

Drew arrived at Carly’s house, and Michael wondered why Drew had wanted to meet there. Drew confided that he wanted to have a confidential conversation about the potential criminal charges against him and Carly for insider trading. Drew thought that it was best for both he and Michael to reconcile their relationship with Ned. Michael agreed. Drew added that he and Carly needed to stop seeing each other. A surprised Michael admitted that it was the happiest he’d seen his mother in a while. Michael didn’t want to get involved in Carly’s personal life, but he did say that people usually got less time together than they thought they would. Drew wondered if Michael was worried about Sonny retaliating, but Michael replied that the feud with Sonny had made him value his family more. He told Drew to take advantage of the time he had with Carly, and then he left to return home to Willow.

Carly arrived at the Quartermaine gatehouse and found Willow screaming at Nina to leave. Carly entered the house as Willow passed out. Carly and Nina tried to revive Willow. When Willow finally woke up, Nina insisted on calling 911, but Willow refused. Carly asked Nina if they could speak outside and they walked out. Willow apologized to the baby, but she promised to get the baby into the world safely. Outside, Nina told Carly she didn’t want another lecture, as she’d only come by to ask a favor of Willow. Carly said she believed her, but she told Nina that her visit had a terrible effect on Willow and that the best thing for Willow and the baby was for Nina to stay away. Nina insisted that she never wanted to hurt them, and Carly told her she believed her. Nina left and Carly went back into the house with Willow and insisted that Willow see a doctor. A few minutes later, they returned to the living room after Carly had checked Willow’s blood pressure and the baby on the fetal monitor.  Willow appeared to be fine, but Carly pointed out that she was not an obstetrician.

Michael arrived home, and Carly told him that Willow had collapsed. Michael promised his mother that Willow would be seen by a doctor. Carly advised Willow to rest, and she left. Michael messaged Dr. Randolph on his phone. A short while later, Willow thanked Michael for the soup, and she told him Nina had been a factor in her collapse. Michael was furious when Willow told him that Nina had accused her of being selfish. But, Willow assured him that Nina wouldn’t be back. Michael insisted that the entire situation could have been avoided had Nina known that Willow was sick. He told Willow that it was time to tell people about Willow’s leukemia so they could concentrate on finding a bone marrow donor.

Carly arrived home to find Drew there. He kissed her and told her that they needed to take advantage of the time they had together. She reminded him that they were supposed to stay away from each other, but he said that he couldn’t do that. Drew got a notification on his phone and Carly insisted that he check it. He looked at his phone and shared the good news that he’d gotten a lead on Willow’s birth parents. Carly was shocked.

At Rice Plaza, Sasha continued to decorate with Sam’s help. Sam said she hoped that the boys wouldn’t claim to be too old to help decorate. Sasha talked about how magical Christmas was for kids, but then she quickly changed the subject. Sam told her that she didn’t have to do that. Sam told Sasha that she could say whatever she was thinking. Sasha admitted that she was working on acknowledging her feelings in therapy. Sam told Sasha that her first daughter was stillborn.  Sasha was obviously moved and told Sam how sorry she was. She then shared her hopes of taking Liam to see Santa with Brando.

A short while later, Sasha talked about how good it felt to do something useful and positive. “Helping others is a great way to help yourself,” she said happily. After their conversation, Sam departed and Nina returned. Sasha could tell that something had happened, and Nina told her that sometimes she feared that she was just as horrible a person as Willow believed she was.

Dante found Sam at Rice Plaza, and he advised her to pace herself, as they still had to decorate their place. Dante talked about Sonny, and how he hoped that his relationship with Rocco wouldn’t end up as troubled as his relationship with Sonny. Sam told him how much love she saw between Dante and Rocco. He thanked Sam for everything she had done for him, and they kissed.

At Pentonville, Victor spoke to someone on the phone and demanded an update on what had happened to the necklace. He and Nikolas then stepped into the visitation room. Spencer was led in by a guard, and when he saw that Nikolas was there, he demanded to be returned to his cell. Victor insisted that Spencer would need his father’s support once he got out of jail. “Not if you keep your end of the bargain,” Spencer replied. Nikolas demanded to know what that meant and Spencer revealed that he had agreed to keep quiet about Nikolas sleeping with Esme, in exchange for Victor giving him his birthright ahead of schedule. Spencer advised Nikolas that he would no longer need his support.

Nikolas told Spencer that if he would just give him another chance, he would never hurt Spencer again. Spencer replied that he would settle for never having to listen to any more of Nikolas’ empty words. “I told you this was a bad idea,” Nikolas told Victor, and he left. Victor seemed disappointed and demanded Spencer sit down. Spencer didn’t care that Victor was disappointed. He told Victor that while Victor might be “all-powerful on the outside,” inside Pentonville, he had serious competition. As he finished making his point, Cyrus entered and apologized to Spencer for being late to their chess game.

Victor was glad to see that Spencer had made friends, but Cyrus said that he was family. Spencer was grateful for all of his uncles looking out for him, including Sonny and Martin. Victor revealed himself as Spencer’s true, biological uncle. Cyrus, having found the remark to be an insult, revealed that Victor had ordered hits on Martin and Laura, which prompted a shocked response from Spencer. Victor then proceeded to announce all of Cyrus’ crimes.  “I don’t hear you denying it,” Cyrus said. “I don’t answer to you,” Victor hissed. “You will if you ever go near my family again, and that includes Spencer,” Cyrus countered.

Victor told Cyrus to exercise caution as he would not want to have Victor as an enemy. Cyrus asked if that meant that Victor was adding him to the hit list as well. Victor warned Spencer to not allow himself to be manipulated by Cyrus. Spencer advised Victor that he would never allow himself to be manipulated again. Victor reminded Spencer that he still needed Victor’s help and he left. Cyrus apologized that Spencer had to learn of his uncle’s guilt in that way. Spencer said, “could it be more obvious?”  He told Cyrus that he was no longer in the mood for chess, so he excused himself and returned to his cell.

Update written by Shane

At the Quartermaine mansion, Brook Lynn greeted Dante and provided him with the letter for the review board. Dante told her that it was too late.  The review board needed her letter by Friday of the previous week.  Brook Lynn was desperate to help Chase and said there must be something that she can do and rushed to get her coat.  Dante said that unless she had connections on the review board there was nothing she could do and even then Chase would not want her using her connections because she would be forced to lie.  Dante explained that Chase would not want his badge returned to him based on lies that were engineered by Brook Lynn.

Brook Lynn came clean to Dante and explained that she had been extremely selfish in her desire to take down Linc, and she had hoped that Chase would have eventually changed his mind and wanted to be a singer more than a cop. She told Dante that Chase had ended their relationship.  Dante appeared sad for her and said that he was sorry.  Brook Lynn said that there was no need for him to lie to save her feelings.  Dante explained that he wasn’t lying and that he thought that Chase had been happy with her. Brook Lynn was surprised when she heard this news.  Later, after Dante left she read the letter aloud she had written for the review board.  She then became angry and threw it across the room.  Suddenly, her emotions seemed to change and she vowed to do whatever was necessary to help Chase be restored to the police force. She made a call to an unknown individual and pleaded for “help.”

.At Rice Plaza, Nina and Sasha carried Christmas decorations to a table. Nina looked around and realized that she and Sasha had been the first to arrive, but Nina was confident the volunteers would be there shortly. Sasha was flattered that Nina had put her in charge of the holiday decorations for the plaza. Sasha assured Nina that she didn’t need her staying around to supervise and said she would not let Nina down. After Nina left, Sasha began to organize things when Chase arrived. Chase was curious what Sasha was up to, so she told him that Nina had put her in charge of transforming the plaza.

Chase thought it had been generous of Sasha to take on the project, but Sasha confessed that it helped her to stay busy, since the guardianship limited what she could do at Deception. Sasha invited Chase to help, and he took her up on the offer. He admitted that he needed something to focus on because he had broken up with Brook Lynn. Sasha felt bad for Chase, and offered to listen if he needed to talk. Chase explained the break up by saying that he and Brook Lynn simply had different priorities.

Chase accused Brook Lynn of acting in her own self-interest by putting his singing career ahead of his police career, but Sasha asked if it was possible that Brook Lynn had sincerely believed that Chase becoming a singer would be best for their relationship. Chase considered what she had said and said that she might have a point.

Dante joined Chase and Sasha on the plaza. Chase wanted to know if Dante had heard anything from the review board. Dante told Chase that he had already given his testimony and hoped that it would help Chase. Chase thanked Dante. Sasha invited Dante to help them decorate and to her surprise, he agreed to help before going to work.

After Sasha went to fetch a box, Chase received a text notification. Chase read the text message. “It’s final. The review board turned down my appeal,” Chase said. Dante was obviously sympathetic to Chase’s plight. Chase’s tone filled with sadness as he realized that he was no longer a police officer — and would never be one again.

At Pozzulo’s, Valentin was escorted into Sonny’s office. Sonny asked about Anna, but Valentin revealed that Anna had decided to handle things on her own. Sonny was curious why Valentin had come to see him, so Valentin revealed that he had a business proposal for Sonny. Sonny wasn’t interested in doing business with Valentin. Sonny explained that his collaboration with Valentin had been for Anna’s sake because Anna was important to Sonny.

Valentin asked if Sonny had heard of the Pikeman Security Group. Sonny was familiar with the mercenary group, so Valentin revealed that the group wanted to move “classified merchandise” through Port Charles — without interference from the government or law enforcement — and Sonny’s facilities would be ideal for the operation. Valentin acknowledged that he would receive a fee, but the group was prepared to pay Sonny $10,000,000 for every successful shipment. Sonny had reservations because it sounded too good to be true, and Sonny was curious how Valentin was connected to the group. Valentin explained that he had occasionally worked as a logistics contractor with Pikeman, and extending the offer to Sonny had earned Valentin a favor.

Sonny wanted to know about Valentin’s agreement with Pikeman, but Valentin would only tell Sonny that it had nothing to do with him or his organization. Valentin gave his word, but Sonny said that Valentin’s word was worthless to him. Valentin said that it would be in Sonny’s best interests to take Pikeman up on their offer. Sonny made it clear that he did not like ultimatums, but Valentin clarified that he was just the messenger.

Valentin explained that Pikeman would find someone else, but the group fully intended to move their merchandise through Port Charles because it was a shipping hub with access to the Atlantic and Canadian waters. According to Valentin, if Sonny wasn’t interested in working with Pikeman, then Sonny would be reclassified as a liability and obstacle, and Pikeman had a reputation for removing obstacles. Valentin told Sonny that he could either make a boatload of money, or gain a new set of powerful enemies. “Ball is in your court,” Valentin said as he exited Sonny’s office.

After Valentin left, Sonny called Brick. Sonny asked Brick to gather as much information as possible on Pikeman Security Group and to get back to Sonny as quickly as possible.

At Carly’s house, Carly entered the kitchen and said good morning to Josslyn.  Josslyn, who was seated at the island and focused on her open laptop, did not return Carly’s greeting. So, Carly repeated her greeting and made sure to get her daughter’s attention. Josslyn told Carly that she had decided to change her major to pre-med. Carly was taken aback, and was curious what had prompted the sudden change. Josslyn explained that she had hated feeling helpless when Dex had been shot, but Carly assured her daughter that Josslyn had done more than most people would have done under similar circumstances.

Josslyn admitted that she had felt a sense of fear both when Dex was shot and when Ava had been stabbed.  She said she did not wish to have that sense of fear anymore.  She wanted to know what to do in those situations. Josslyn was surprised at Carly’s lack of enthusiasm for her decision, but Carly had concerns because medical school was difficult and time-consuming.

Carly wanted Josslyn to be clear on her motivations.  She wanted to know if Dex had any role in Josslyn’s decision.  She cautioned Josslyn to admit her feelings for Dex with an awareness of the violence that was likely to plague Dex’s life. Josslyn promised that becoming a doctor was separate from Dex. Carly asked about Cameron and Josslyn’s mood saddened.  She said that things with Cameron just weren’t the same anymore and that she simply didn’t know how to end it.  She couldn’t stand the idea of hurting Cameron. Carly told her she understood, but that the longer she waited, the harder it would be to end things with Cameron.

At the Quartermaine gatehouse, Michael and Willow arrived home. Willow was weak and Michael helped guide her to the couch in the center of the room. He offered to make some tea, but Willow declined. She sat as Michael knelt at her feet and slid off her boots. Willow urged Michael to go about his day as usual because Michael and Wiley’s routine gave her a sense of normalcy. Willow lay down to take a nap as Michael draped a blanket on her. He promised to return soon, but he stopped at the door to look at her. “And he says he doesn’t hover,” Willow said. She smiled but her eyes remained closed.

At Dex’s apartment, Dex had a dream about Josslyn and their passionate kiss in her dorm room. He awakened and sat up quickly, but was overcome with pain from the gunshot wound. There was a knock at the door and Dex answered it to reveal Michael with his phone. As Michael entered the apartment, he handed the phone to Dex. Michael asked how the phone had ended up outside the gatehouse, so Dex told Michael about his role in Anna’s escape and the gunshot wound.

Dex explained that he had hoped Michael might get him patched up or at least to his apartment. Michael was not happy when Dex admitted that Josslyn had helped, but Michael realized that it had explained Josslyn’s strange behavior when Michael and Willow had arrived home. Michael was furious that Dex had made Josslyn an accomplice to a crime, and he was further angered when Dex admitted that Carly had gotten involved by getting him antibiotics.

Michael made it clear that he had no desire to dismantle Sonny’s organization at the expense of his mother and sister. Dex promised that this was an isolated incident and that it would never happen again, but Michael still wasn’t satisfied. Michael warned Dex that he would rather call everything off than put Josslyn at risk. “You need to find a way to keep her at arm’s length,” Michael said. Shortly after Michael left, Dex answered a knock at his door to reveal Josslyn standing in the hallway.

At the gatehouse, Willow woke up when she heard someone knocking at the door. She was confused when she saw Nina standing at the door. Nina explained that she had a favor to ask of Willow. Willow informed Nina that Wiley was at school, so Nina’s attempt to accidentally run into him would not work. Nina admitted that she had purposefully stopped by when Wiley was not home. “I was hoping you might want to help out a friend,” Nina said.

Willow poured herself a glass of water as Nina told her about the holiday project at Rice Plaza and Sasha’s role in getting everything done. Nina admitted that she had thought it might help Sasha to have Willow on hand to get the work done, but Willow told Nina that it was not a good day for her. Willow pointed out that Nina had not only taken on the project because Nina had decided it was what Sasha had needed, but Nina had put Sasha in charge of it without consulting Sasha about any of it. Nina was confident that she had made the right decision because Sasha had seemed happy when Nina had left the plaza. Willow was curious why — if Sasha had been doing great — Sasha needed friends to rally around her. “You are spinning your own narrative like you always do,” Willow said.

Willow accused Nina of not having consideration for anyone, and Willow advised Nina to pick a lane and stay in it. Nina grew  defensive. Nina claimed that she had hoped that Willow would be willing to set aside their differences to help a friend. “There goes that narrative again,” Willow said. “Willow Tait, you’re as selfish as they come,” Nina shot back. Nina insisted that Willow had everything, while Sasha had lost Liam and Brando, suffered several nervous breakdowns, and been put under a guardianship. Nina claimed that Willow’s life was perfect because Willow had graduated from nursing school, had plenty of time off from work for naps, and lived on a beautiful estate in a house with a man and son who loved and adored her. Nina also reminded Willow that she was pregnant with another child. As Nina ranted about Willow’s life being perfect, Willow lost it.

“Shut up!” Willow screamed. Willow repeated it two more times, each time gaining momentum and anger.  Stunned by the screams, Nina stopped speaking. Willow accused Nina of using Sasha as an excuse to scheme her way back into her good graces. Willow insisted that Nina had lost her mind if she thought that she would simply look past all of the lies that Nina had spread about Willow and T.J. Carly approached the gatehouse, but slowed when she heard Willow screaming. Carly got close enough to see what was going on through the window in the door. She paused to see who Willow was speaking to and was shocked when she saw that it was Nina.

When Willow ordered Nina to leave, Carly opened the door and stood in the doorway. Nina threw her hands up in defeat. Carly was ready for an altercation, but before she could say anything, Willow fainted, her head striking the floor.

Update written by Shane

At the cabin where Holly has taken refuge, Jordan orders Mac to move in, the cabin explodes taking everyone by surprise.  Holly rushes out consumed by flames. Robert, who is at first subdued by Mac, rushes over with a blanket and extinguishes the flames covering Holly.  Robert screams.

The paramedics, after conducting their initial exam, explain Holly has third-degree burns over most of her body. They tell Robert that the burn unit at General Hospital is not equipped to handle such a serious case, so they plan to airlift Holly to a hospital that is better equipped. Robert goes with her. Jordan tells Mac she needs him on site.

The paramedics load Holly into an ambulance with Robert by her side. Later by the side of the road, the ambulance stops and the back doors open.  The paramedics exit and Felicia reveals herself as the driver. Holly sits up in the back of the ambulance without a hint of injury.

They all exit the ambulance and Holly thanks Felicia, who provides her with a new passport. Holly explains the events as they have unfolded over the past 24 hours. Felicia had shown up the previous night at the cabin and helped her fix the stove to explode when the time was right. She had also brought flame retardant clothing. Holly further reveals to Felicia that she and Robert staged his drugging, providing her the opportunity to “steal” the necklace. Holly explains that Ethan’s only chance at survival is if Victor thinks she is of no use to him. Felicia tells everyone that the official story will record that Holly was transported to a burn unit thousands of miles from Port Charles on the other side of the world. Holly is just sorry they had to keep Mac in the dark. Felicia says that under the circumstances she believes he would understand and says it provides him with plausible deniability.  As long as he is in the dark, he will not be lying to Jordan.

Holly then recalls meeting and giving Selina one of the diamonds from the necklace, in exchange for her drugging Victor.  Selina asked her what Victor did to her, and she explained he was holding her son hostage. Selina says that there is a special place in hell for men like him.  Holly says, “Yes, the 9th ring.” The drug will pay him back in kind, but it won’t kill him. She’ll never get Ethan back with Victor dead. Selina agreed to help her.

Once Felicia departs, Holly tells Robert she’s sorry that this must be goodbye. She notes this isn’t their moment, and he laughs, “It never is.” Before he can let her go, he asks for the necklace. She laughs, and hands it over. Holly tells Robert to be careful and blows him a kiss as she walks away.

Back at the cabin, Jordan tells Mac that it appears a faulty stove had caused the explosion. Mac is handed the remains of Robert’s briefcase, but there is no necklace to be found. He tells Jordan that the fire was so hot it could have destroyed the necklace.  Jordan says that the WSB is not going to be happy with the news.

At Portia and Curtis’ place, Marshall sits outside cleaning his clarinet when Trina tries to sneak out. He expected boredom to drive her out sooner or later. She admits she has cabin fever and needs room to breathe.

Inside, Portia and Curtis talk about the holiday. Curtis plans to make the most of his time with his father in case his disease returns. He asks what the chances are of that happening. Portia says she is not a psychiatrist and so she can not help Curtis in that regard. Curtis tells her Marshall claims he hasn’t had an episode since his arrest at the protest, and maybe he caught a break.

Back outside, Curtis and Portia find Marshall with Trina. Curtis tells his dad the game is about to start if he wants to watch. Portia and Marshall head in, and Curtis offers Trina the last piece of the pie. She pushes it aside. Trina knows he posted Marshall outside, which Curtis admits he did, but only to watch out for Esme. She accepts the pie and cleans the plate.

Back inside, Portia hopes Marshall will play the clarinet for them tonight. She asks if his illness has ever affected his music. Marshall says it never did, just his ambitions. He wonders why all the questions. She says that genetic counseling wasn’t available back when he was diagnosed and he could get it now. Marshall says that it can not possibly tell him anything he doesn’t already know.

In the kitchen of the Quartermaine mansion, Chase asks Brook Lynn if she had ever planned on telling him about the letter Dante asked her to write. She’s shocked Dante told him and explains she’s been so busy with his singing career she hasn’t had time to think about it. Chase wonders if she was ever planning on telling him or writing the letter. She swears she had every intention of writing the letter once they had taken Linc down. Chase grows angry and says that taking Linc down was never a certainty.

Brook Lynn says, “There is only one reason, us.” She cries and tells Chase that she’s never had anything like she has with him, and she didn’t think she was capable of finding it. However, he showed her that wasn’t the case. She says even if she never exposes Linc or gets her songs back, she’d be okay because they keep getting closer. She thought that given enough time he’d forget about the badge and simply want what they have together.

Chase admits that singing has been fun. However, he is not a singer. He explains she took away the choice for him to decide for himself what he wanted to do with his future. Brook Lynn understands and says she is fine with him “hanging up the mic.” Chase says, “Yes my singing career is over, but so are we.” She begs him to think about what he’s saying. Chase tells her that she kept him from the thing that makes him who he is. He says that they are over and leaves.

At The Savoy, Britt collides with Ava (at the bar drinking a martini) and orders herself a cosmopolitan. Cody shows up, as does Nikolas. Britt complains to Ava about how long it’s been since she had real “relationship sex.” 2014 was the last time and with her husband Nikolas, who approaches them and brags that he’s a “tough act to follow.”

Meanwhile, Liesl grabs Cody and drags him to another area of the club. Liesl tells Cody that Britt doesn’t have the time or energy for romantic distractions. She offers him money to stay away from Britt.  Cody says that he doesn’t want her money.

Cody says he originally wanted the necklace, but then he wanted Britt. He thought he could have both, but now he’s lost them both. He tells Liesl not to worry, he knows where he is not wanted and that he will not be bothering Britt anymore. Cody does ask Liesl to tell him what is wrong with Britt. Liesl tells him that answers were never part of the offer.

Selina finds Victor drinking by himself and joins him. Victor gets a text from Gavin that he’s at the location and trying to get the necklace. Victor texts Gavin and tells him that the necklace is key and that Holly is expendable. Victor and Selina discuss their recent family holiday.

Back at the bar, Britt orders another round for her, Ava and Nikolas. Britt suggests Nikolas be her wingman tonight.  Britt suddenly becomes woozy and can’t stand. She is caught by Victor and Selina who rush over to help.

Selina asks if Britt has been overserved. Britt says that she has only had one drink but becomes unstable again. Victor helps her to a table. Selina follows, and Britt continues to yell at them to get away from her as she can handle her alcohol. Victor soon realizes that Britt is sick and tells her that this has nothing to do with alcohol. Britt screams, “Don’t say that!”  Liesl appears and slaps Victor, and Cody forcibly moves Victor to another area of the club. Selina meanwhile recalls sending Victor a drink earlier containing the drug Holly had given her.

Later, Liesl tells Britt they should go home. She helps her daughter walk out of the club as Cody watches.

Elsewhere, Ava fills Nikolas in on Mac and Kevin believing she can convince Ryan to help them find Esme. Nikolas is understandably upset, and makes it seem he fears for Ava’s safety.

Alone, Victor finishes his drugged drink. He gets a text from Gavin that Holly is disabled and the necklace is missing. Victor smashes the empty glass that had contained his drink. He has consumed every last drop.

Update written by Shane

Carly arrived at the Quartermaine mansion and Drew told her that she looked absolutely beautiful.  She responded by saying that Drew looked pretty handsome himself.  Before they could continue the conversation, Willow and Michael arrived and Carly and Drew greeted both of them. Michael and Willow were pleased when they learned that Carly intended to help Drew with the search for Willow’s birth parents.

Olivia would not hear of any talk about the Quartermaine’s jaded Thanksgiving past and was determined that this year the Quartermaine family would have a turkey for Thanksgiving.  She informed Ned and Michael that she had ordered it herself from a farm with a French name, in Port Charles. But Olivia clearly doesn’t know French that well or she would have figured out that they were sending her a real, live turkey.  When it arrived, both Michael and Ned made fun of Olivia for not realizing that she was being sent a live turkey.  Michael suggested that they prepare the bird themselves when Olivia’s plan to bribe the Quartermaine chef to prepare the bird, failed miserably.  Ned said that preparing the turkey had been part of Thanksgiving since the dawn of the holiday.  Michael agreed and said that he would grab Drew and Chase to assist.

Leo was thrilled to see the turkey but did not like the idea of Ned and Michael prepping it and cooking it, so he set it free inside the house and then proceeded to run room to room screaming for everyone to get out of the house because there was a turkey on the loose.

Sonny hosted his own Thanksgiving dinner but found time for romance beforehand by giving Nina a pair of diamond earrings. Sam and Dante were the first guests to arrive. When they shared a private moment, Sam voiced her concerns about Cody, and Dante shrugged them off. Sam said she appreciated Dante defending his friend but she was curious if Cody was up to something concerning the Ice Princess.  Dante said that the necklace might actually be Cody’s property and he said that having come from nothing, it was perfectly natural for Cody to defend his interests in the necklace.

The conversation between Dante and Sam was brought to a screeching halt when they heard Gladys tear into Alexis from the other room for publishing the fact that Esme might be the prime suspect in the Hook killings. She felt she should have been the first to know, seeing how Brando was one of the killer’s victims. Nina was confused and asked Gladys if she had not been informed that Esme was a suspect. Gladys responded by saying she had not. Dante told them all that this was because the PCPD did not have a prime suspect because the investigation was ongoing and it was important that the press not release information prematurely.  Alexis glared at them all, knowing that she had already authorized the story to be printed.  Sonny asked everyone to remain calm and reminded them that Thanksgiving was about family.  Gladys reminded Sonny that Brando was her family.  Her only family.  Alexis then apologized for releasing the information.  She said that she thought that Gladys would be pleased with her decision because she was turning up the heat on the investigation at a time when it appeared to have run cold.  Gladys, however, was having no part of Alexis’ apology and retreated from the room.

Laura, Robert, Mac and Jordan gathered to track down Holly. They finally got a lead on her. But before they began discussions, Laura dispatched the duplicitous Deputy Mayor Ashby elsewhere, before she could overhear the details of the search.

Meanwhile, Holly modeled the Ice Princess necklace while hiding out in an abandoned cabin in the woods. She made herself a fire to keep warm without noticing that gas had been leaked onto the floor. When the authorities arrived, Robert begged her to give up and come out of the cabin. Holly asked if Laura was all right and told Robert to apologize to her for her actions.

Back at the PCPD, Felicia had brought everyone Thanksgiving dinner because she knew that they would be working. Felicia asked Laura how she was doing with everything that had happened in the last twenty-four hours.  Laura replied that she was fine.  Felicia said that she couldn’t believe that Holly would steal Laura’s car and leave her on the side of the road all for a necklace.  Laura told Felicia she believed the matter was far more complicated than just “a necklace.” Felicia said that she agreed, but that she still could not believe the events that had transpired.

The Q’s looked on in horror from the back windows of the mansion’s kitchen as the turkey tore the room apart. Brook Lynn congratulated Olivia on her valiant effort to create a perfect Thanksgiving for the family. She then named all the wonderful women who had tried and failed in the past to set the Quartermaine Thanksgiving curse right (including her grandmother, Lila Quartermaine). But, she said that at some point you have to accept tradition, as it is. Olivia agreed, but was out of ideas for what they would all eat.  The entire group said in unison, “Luigi’s.”  The pizza arrived, the Quartermaine’s sang, and once again, all appeared right with the world.

Sasha stared out of the windows of Sonny’s penthouse, while she recalled the events of her wedding to Brando. Sonny came in and asked how she was doing. They spoke briefly and Sonny told her she was always welcome at his house.  Sasha thanked him and he then asked her if Gladys was still exercising her responsibilities as guardian with a “hands-on” attitude.  Sasha said that she believed that she and Gladys finally understood each other.

Gladys, on the other hand, said that she had to make a call and excused herself.  She called the Savoy, told them she was having a bad day and needed some fun.  She then booked herself a seat at Selina Wu’s next poker game.

Back at the cabin, Jordan instructed Mac to move in with armed police units as Robert begged her to give Holly more time to do the right thing.  Jordan said that Holly had already had enough time; but before she could finish her statement there was a large explosion in the cabin which nearly knocked everyone to the ground.  Shortly after, a woman, who appeared to be Holly burst through the front door, completely consumed by flames.

Jordan phoned Mac and instructed him to secure Ava’s cooperation in their quest to locate Esme. Mac looked over at Kevin and Ava, at the Metro Court and made his way to their table. Mac told Ava that he needed her help in catching Esme. Kevin backed Mac up and said that they believed Ryan Chamberlain was likely to know Esme’s whereabouts. They both believed that if anyone was likely to somehow get Ryan to slip up and reveal information it would be Ava. Ava listened intently to their plan and agreed to it without the slightest hesitation. Mac told her to take some time to consider it and she said that she didn’t need any time.  She said she wanted to protect Trina from Esme and added that she wanted Esme to “rot.”

At General Hospital, T.J. told Diane and Jordan that Robert was “sleeping it off” although he was waiting for the results of the tox screen. Jordan said that she was convinced that Robert had been drugged, and T.J. ordered a rush on the tox screen. In his room, Robert awakened, and Diane was sitting with him. Diane refreshed his memory about the tequila shots and the reaction she believed he had to them.  She also filled him in on his strange behavior and the trip to his room with Holly. Diane added that she had given the WSB his message. Robert suddenly realized that his briefcase was gone and Diane confirmed that he had not been in possession of it when he stumbled off the elevator at the Metro Court. He said, “get Ashford in here……now.”  Diane rushed to get Jordan.

Dante paid a visit to Heather at Spring Ridge. As he was led into her cell, he found her painting. Heather asked Dante if he wanted to model for her. Dante revealed that he was there to question her about the transport crash. Heather offered to tell him for a price. Dante admitted that he couldn’t make a deal, but he thought that if she provided information, it would help her later.

Heather refused, and Dante told her she’d have plenty of time to perfect her painting in prison. He knocked on the door for the guard to let him out, and Heather frowned. She later banged on the door and requested a phone call.

Elsewhere at Spring Ridge, a caregiver attempted to read stories of interest from the newspaper to Ryan. He noted that there had been no new developments on the hook killer, and that Anna DeVane was still on the run.

Laura and Scott chatted while standing in Rice Plaza. They talked about family, and Laura noted her intention to locate Lucy’s real shooter to bring them to justice. Holly sat on a bench nearby and overheard their conversation. Laura and Scott made their way to the bench, and Holly said she had seen a woodchuck floating up into the air. She noted that she was waiting for a ride-share because she had business to tend to. She said she hadn’t expected to see so much activity around her.  Laura and Scott were perplexed that Holly would be working on the night before Thanksgiving. Scott received a phone call from Heather and walked off sounding annoyed.  Laura insisted that she drive Holly to her meeting with her contact rather than leave Holly alone waiting for a ride-share.  Laura said that she would not take no for an answer.  Holly reluctantly agreed. Laura and Holly couldn’t believe that Scott had taken the phone call from Heather and agreed it couldn’t be good.

Esme let out a scream but quickly apologized to “Ace” in her locked room at Wyndemere. The door opened, and Elizabeth walked in. She announced that she was there to help Esme. She checked Esme’s vitals and told Esme that stress was bad for the baby. Elizabeth instructed Esme to take her pregnancy seriously and gave her some prenatal vitamins to take once a day. Esme begged Elizabeth to tell Nikolas to let her go.  Elizabeth said that living at Wyndemere was preferable to life behind bars at Pentonville, which is definitely where Esme would be headed if she were discovered.

After Elizabeth had gone, Esme wondered what her daddy would do. She had a vision of Ryan sitting on her bed, and she complained and argued about her situation. “Use the baby,” he said. He urged her to toss the vitamins out and refuse to take care of herself. Esme thought she could lose her leverage if she lost the baby, but Ryan assured her that the baby was her only leverage. Esme dumped most of the pills and figured that Elizabeth would bring her more. Downstairs, Nikolas left a phone message for Ava and told her he loved her. The doorbell rang, and Nikolas was irritated to see Victor standing there with all his luggage. Victor announced to Nikolas that tonight was the night he had decided to move in. Nikolas tried to tell him it wasn’t a good time, but Victor stated that there had been a development. He said he needed some extra security and he wanted to prepare the family for what was to come. Victor said that Nikolas and Spencer were the only ones he could trust, and he wanted Nikolas to “get his house in order.”

Victor poured drinks and handed Nikolas a glass. He told Nikolas that he would pick out his suite in the north tower. “No!” Nikolas shouted. He quickly told his uncle that the ongoing renovations were nowhere near complete and that Victor would have to stay in the south tower. Victor complained about the views in the south tower, left the room and closed the doors. “What the hell, Nikolas?” Elizabeth said. She wondered if Nikolas was trying to get caught. Elizabeth told Nikolas that Esme was doing well, even though she should have had prenatal care. Victor returned to the room and Elizabeth departed because being there with Victor obviously gave her the creeps.

Nikolas claimed that Elizabeth had shown up to talk because she’d had a rough time. Victor didn’t believe Nikolas and said that he was at least pleased to see Nikolas acting like a single man again. Victor then received a message and left to make a call. He was angry to hear that Holly had vanished.

Scott visited Heather, and she cried about Franco’s death. She said that Dante had stopped by to question her, so she knew that she was valuable. She added that she knew who had helped Anna to escape.  Heather wanted to make a deal with Scott.  He would help her get paroled from the prison and then she would sue Port Charles for millions claiming the prisoner transport crash had caused permanent damage to her neck.

Scott assured Heather that no judge would ever grant her release and that no one would ever take her seriously because she was a “crackpot.”  Heather implored him to think twice because she never forgot her friends, or her enemies.  “Neither do I,” Scott replied and he knocked on the door to be released.

Ava and Mac bumped into Dante at Spring Ridge when they arrived to see Ryan, and they gave Dante an update. Ava spotted Ryan and headed over to him. She told Ryan that Esme had been her attacker. “The audacity!” she exclaimed. She wondered if Ryan would like to help her get back at Esme for trying to take what was his.

Back at General Hospital, Robert tried to unhook his I.V. and other lines while T.J. sat with him. Robert was in a full-on panic because he had lost the necklace and was worried for Holly’s safety. T.J. told Robert that he couldn’t leave. Diane and Jordan arrived, and Jordan announced that some footage from Metro Court had been reviewed, and Holly appeared to be fine. She asked why Holly would do such a thing. Robert appeared to want to say something, but Jordan received a phone call and left. Diane surmised that Holly had stolen the necklace and drugged him. She added that she knew he was in trouble. Robert denied everything and Diane begged him not to let Holly drag him down with her.

In the car, Laura and Holly discussed her mother and the fact that Kevin was working. She thought that Holly’s memory would return, and she asked what agency Holly was working for. Holly responded that it was classified. Laura received a phone call from Jordan, but before she could tell Jordan who she was with, Jordan began to talk over the speakerphone. Jordan said that Robert had been attacked and that the attacker had the missing necklace in Robert’s briefcase. Laura realized what was happening but before she could react, Holly disconnected the call and held Laura at gunpoint.

Laura admitted that she had suspected all along that Holly and Deputy Mayor Ashby were on Victor’s payroll. When Holly told Laura to exit the freeway Laura refused to follow any of Holly’s commands.

Later, Holly and Laura were shown standing on the side of the road by an exit sign. While Holly held her gun in Laura’s direction, she grabbed Laura’s phone and called Kevin. She tossed the phone on the ground and ran. Laura picked up the phone and told Kevin where she was. She told Kevin that Holly had stolen her car and advised him to tell Jordan that Holly was armed and dangerous.

At the Metro Court, Sam and Dante meet with Alexis for lunch. Nina interrupts and asks Dante how worried Ava needs to be about Esme. Alexis is surprised to hear Esme is back in town, and of the theory that the attacks are connected to Trina’s trial. Nina pretends to be worried about Ava but it is clear she is looking out for number 1.  Since Ava is temporarily staying at her place, she feels she may be in dangerous.  Dante can only say the investigation is ongoing and suggests they stay vigilant.

After Nina walks off, Alexis turns the discussion to food, and what Sonny will be cooking for Thanksgiving. Dante says a feast from what he hears. They all plan to go to Sonny’s, but Sam and Dante are later going to the Quartermaines for pizza. Dante says his mom even invited Cody, but he doubts he’ll come. Dante says he will probably have to go down to the stables to coax him out. Sam seems surprised. Dante messages Brook Lynn again about her statement to help Chase. She tells him that she’s in a meeting at Kelly’s. Dante tells them duty calls and excuses himself.

Alone, Alexis asks what the face Sam made was about when Dante mentioned Cody. Sam reveals Cody dropped hints that Dante may have done something illegal as a child, and she thinks she should find out what it was. When Sam steps away, Alexis asks Nina why she’s so certain Esme could be the hook. Nina says Ava seems very concerned about her return. Later, Alexis calls the PCPD and leaves a message for Jordan. Because she has not received her exclusive that she was promised she is going ahead with the printing of the hook’s letter on the front page the following day and would like a comment from the commissioner.  At Kelly’s, Chase and Brook Lynn arrive and meet with Blaze and Linc, who has issues with Brook Lynn’s song. Blaze loves the song, but she feels she’s singing too much back up to Chase. Chase and Brook Lynn believe they can work this out. Linc agrees as he caresses Blaze and says she knows how to play nice. Brook Lynn and Chase see this blatant sexual harassment but manage to keep their cool. Brook Lynn suggests she and Linc grab some coffee and let Blaze and Chase talk.

Brook Lynn says, “It won’t be just me.” She points out all the instances recently where one woman came out publicly against someone, which results in more coming out, and all she has to do is light the match. She says fortunately she doesn’t have a singing career he can hang over her head to keep her quiet, and she is going to destroy him. Linc says, “Or, you could get your songs back.”

Dante sits down with Chase and asks why Blaze is in Port Charles. Chase reveals they are working on a song together. Dante explains he’s been leaving messages for Brook Lynn and came to track her down. Chase relays that she’s been working around the clock promoting him. Dante says, “With this new career of his, maybe she doesn’t have to write that letter.”

In Britt’s office, Cody finds her on the floor holding the necklace. The office is a mess, and he asks if someone broke in and tried to steal the necklace. She tells him no. He can see she’s upset and asks if he can help. Britt cries to Cody that when she found out her father died, she thought it was finally over. However, his reach extends beyond the grave and he’s still hurting her. She can’t believe she wasted so much time seeking his approval. He tells her if Faison didn’t appreciate her then that’s on him, and she is worth loving. She asks, “Even with what’s been passed down to me?”

Cody initially assumes she’s speaking of the necklace and suggests she can give it to him because it’s basically his anyways. She can’t believe she didn’t see this before and screams she wasn’t talking about the necklace. She thinks that’s all he wanted. She tells him if he wants it so bad take it and get out! She hands it to him.

As Britt opens the door and demands Cody leave, Robert is standing there with a cop. He has a warrant for the necklace and demands Cody hand it over. Cody hesitates. Robert explains some of the diamonds in it are possibly stolen, Cody continues to stand there motionless so Britt finally grabs the necklace and hands it over to Robert.  Robert and the officer leave.

Britt again demands Cody get out, but he refuses. He wants to know if she wasn’t talking about the necklace then what was she talking about? He apologizes for making a mistake, and she knows he has a habit of putting his foot in his mouth. He asks what it will take for her to give him the benefit of the doubt. She says, “More than I have to give.”

Obrecht arrives and says, “What is going on here?”  “Absolutely nothing,” Cody says as he exits. Obrecht asks what is going on, and Britt breaks down and cries “I’m sick.”

In the lobby of , the officer cuffs the briefcase with the necklace to Robert’s wrist. He reveals he’s going to turn it over to some WSB agents at the Metro Court. One of Victor’s men overhears this and calls Victor.Elsewhere, Michael and Willow arrive for her first chemo appointment. They run into Carly, and soon after TJ appears. Willow whisks TJ aside to talk to him about her pregnancy. While they are alone, Carly asks Michael how everything is going. Michael reveals Willow wants to find her birth parents. Carly is stunned and asks what changed her mind. Michael simply says with the baby coming, they thought it could be important to have all the medical information available to them.  He makes no mention of Willow’s leukemia to Carly.

Nearby, Willow admits to TJ that she feels like a coward not letting anyone know she’s sick. TJ assures her that she’s not a coward. TJ and Willow rejoin Carly and Michael. Carly asks TJ if he and Molly have plans for Thanksgiving. He explains Alexis is going to Sonny’s, but they thought that might be awkward. Carly is confused, so Michael tells her about Nina’s accusations about Willow and TJ having an affair. Carly is livid and storms off.

At Kelly’s Diner, Linc asked Brook Lynn to help him salvage his less than stellar reputation. In exchange, Linc said he would give back to Brook Lynn the remaining contents of her catalog. Brook Lynn was incredulous.  She couldn’t believe that Linc was now suggesting she agree to rehabilitate his reputation in return for the songs that he virtually stole from her.

Chase joined them, and he asked Brook Lynn directly if she was okay with whatever Linc had proposed. Brook Lynn hesitantly said that she and Linc were on good terms, and Linc left. Chase told Brook Lynn that he trusted her to do the right thing. Brook Lynn appeared no where near as certain as Chase was as they walked outside.

Earlier, Chase was surprised to learn that Dante had asked for Brook Lynn’s help in getting Chase reinstated as a detective. Chase pointedly asked Dante how long ago he had made the request and Dante told him it had been weeks. Chase wondered if Brook Lynn had ever intended to send a letter on his behalf to the review board. Dante told Chase not to simply assume the worst about Brook Lynn.

In Britt’s office at the hospital, Britt told Liesl that her Huntington’s disease had advanced. She told her Liesl that the specialist had given her between five to 15 years to live. Britt said that within a year, she might require around-the-clock care. Liesl said that they were both intelligent, talented doctors and that they would not let the disease win so easily.  But, Britt was not having it.  She told Liesl that she needed a mother, not a doctor.  Liesl said that she could do that, but she stated that Britt deserved a better mother.  They cried together.  Britt asked Liesl to go home to Scott.  But, Liesl couldn’t stand the thought of Britt being alone.

At Volonino’s Gym, Drew told Sonny that he was searching for Willow’s biological mother at the requested of Willow and Michael. Sonny shared that he had heard the failed merger between Aurora and ELQ had recently caused trouble between Drew and Carly. Drew seemed surprised when Sonny said that Carly had felt the need to tell Sonny about her relationship with Drew. Drew asked how Sonny had reacted, and Sonny recalled that he had told Carly that he was happy for her. “Well, that was nice of you to say. Did you mean it?” Drew asked. Sonny said that he had been sincere when he had wished Carly well, and he added that he only wanted what was best for Carly because she was Donna’s mother.

At the Metro Court restaurant, Carly and Nina bickered at each other over Nina’s misinterpretation of Carly’s visit to Brick’s room at the Metro Court. The argument grew ugly and at one point, Carly took a bowl of soup from Trish, a waitress who had walked by. Carly eventually returned the bowl to the waitress after Sonny and Drew appeared. Carly said that she had been tempted to throw the soup in Nina’s face, but she claimed she had refused because she had too much respect for the hotel and its staff.

Sonny convinced Nina to walk away. Afterwards, Carly was surprised when Drew said he would help Willow search for her birth mother. Carly had yet another flashback to months earlier when she had learned that Nina was Willow’s biological mother. Carly then told Drew that she would help with the search for Willow’s mom.

At Pier 55, Valentin was surprised to find Martin, who was still grieving the loss of Lucy. Martin said that Anna had murdered Lucy. Valentin swore that Martin was wrong about Anna, but Martin said that Valentin’s judgment was clouded by his love for Anna. Valentin offered sincere apologies to Martin, who added that he wished Lucy hadn’t gone to the pier on the night of the gunshot. Valentin clarified that there had been two shots fired instead of one. Martin wondered what Valentin’s point had been. “If Anna was the shooter, she wouldn’t need two shots, especially at close range,” Valentine reiterated.

Valentin told Martin to come with him because the two had work to do. “Go where?” Martin asked. “To find out what happened to Lucy,” Valentin answered.

In the restaurant at the Metro Court, Robert waited for his WSB contact to appear. Diane joined Robert, who shared that the briefcase that was handcuffed to him contained diamonds from the Ice Princess. Diane was intrigued with being so close to the famed Ice Princess. Holly joined them, and Robert introduced her to Diane. Robert ordered tequila shots for the table. Robert said that Holly was someone he trusted with his life. Holly said that she and Diane had both cheated death, and then excused herself for a moment. When Holly was away, Diane told Robert that she was lovely and said she could see why Robert was so fond of her.  Robert warned Diane that she could be duplicitous. Holly returned to the table and found a way to drug Robert without he or Diane noticing.  Robert wanted Holly to do a shot with him, but Holly claimed she had to watch her salt intake. Holly and Diane had a conversation, and Robert grew quiet. Diane asked Robert a question, and suddenly, Robert’s head fell to the table.

Diane was concerned about Robert. Holly claimed that he just wasn’t able to handle his liquor anymore. Robert appeared to have been drugged, but he said he needed to stay at Metro Court to wait for the WSB contact. Holly convinced Robert to leave with her.

After Robert and Holly left, Diane left a voice message for Robert. Diane shared that she hadn’t had a good feeling about Robert being alone with Holly. Diane hung up, and she was stunned when Robert stumbled off the elevator. He appeared to have been assaulted and the suitcase that had been cuffed to his wrist was gone.

Elsewhere, Holly opened the box in the suitcase that had contained the necklace. She pulled the necklace from the box and held it in her hands.

Update written by Shane

At Pozzulo’s, Sonny continued to try to reach Dex by phone. He left a voicemail demanding that Dex call him. Brick arrived and told Sonny that he had also been unable to locate Dex. Sonny informed Brick that he was not cool with Carly visiting Brick’s hotel room, and Brick assured him that he would never disrespect Sonny. He added that he would tell Sonny if he insisted but to do so would be to violate Carly’s trust. Sonny’s guard came to tell him a supplier needed to speak with him. Brick was left alone in Sonny’s office.

After finishing up a run, Drew ran into Carly and Carly told him that they still needed to be super careful.  She informed him that Josslyn had seen them kissing, but she told Drew that Josslyn could be trusted. Drew agreed and then told Carly that he was trying to locate Willow’s birth parents or even possibly some family members.  Carly looked stunned for obvious reasons.

Olivia arrived in the plaza and greeted them but Carly quickly made her exit when she received a message from Brick. He told her that Sonny was aware that they had met, and Sonny had had some wild ideas.

In Josslyn’s dorm room, Dex awoke and grabbed a sleeping Josslyn’s hand as she slept in a chair next to the bed. She opened her eyes and checked his fever, which she said had broken. Dex said that he felt better, but he groaned in pain when he began to move. She handed him a bottle of water and urged him to stay hydrated. Dex asked her to get him some clothes so that he could leave. Josslyn reminded him that he couldn’t walk, let alone stand, but Dex struggled as he got out of the bed and stood up by himself. Josslyn thought that Dex was too weak to leave, but he didn’t want to take a chance of her getting into trouble with all the people around the dorm.

Sonny returned to his office, and Brick told him that he wouldn’t disclose discussions that were about private matters. There was a knock at the door, it was Carly. She announced that she’d heard that Sonny had gotten the wrong idea about her meeting with Brick, and said she was there to set him straight. Carly told Sonny that the entire matter was none of his business, and Sonny looked toward Brick, who stated that Sonny had been curious. Carly told Sonny that she and Drew were seeing each other but that had to keep it quiet for the time being. She claimed that she had gone to Brick and asked him to conceal any digital footprint that she and Drew might have left.

Sonny asked Brick to leave him and Carly alone, and Brick left. Sonny told Carly that he was happy for her. Carly said she didn’t want Sonny getting the wrong idea, and he disclosed that Nina had been the one to inform him that Carly had gone into Brick’s hotel room. Carly was not at all surprised, and she noted that it was time for Nina to get a life and stay out of hers.

Back at the dorms, Josslyn returned with clothing for Dex. She told him he could not take the antibiotics without food and grabbed a granola bar for him. Dex was surprised to see a pair of socks in the bag, and Josslyn explained that she wouldn’t dig through his bloody things for the pair he’d been wearing. He was unable to put them on himself, but Josslyn helped him. He also asked for help with his pants, and she slid them over his legs. He managed to get out of bed and pull them up himself. Josslyn packed a duffle bag of odds and ends for him to carry to avoid suspicion and told him she’d burn all the bloody clothing and rags in the fire pit at home.

Dex said that she had gone through an awful lot of trouble for him.  Josslyn agreed. Suddenly, Dex grabbed her, and they began to kiss passionately. “Damn!” Dex muttered when they finally separated. He told her that wasn’t supposed to have happened. “Well, it did!” Josslyn replied. She smiled broadly as Dex left.

At General Hospital, Austin informed Britt that Dr. Talone, a leading specialist in her field, was on the way. Britt appreciated Austin’s help, and while he didn’t have to stay, she admitted she’d like his moral support. When the doctor arrived, they all sat down. Britt admitted to a family history and symptoms as the reason for her pursuing Huntington’s disease further. She admitted to having given a false name with incomplete information when she’d had the hospital visit while on the run.

The doctor suspected that Britt could be further along than originally thought. She explained that the symptoms could have been masked by her carpal tunnel syndrome. Austin urged Britt to be honest, and she admitted to various symptoms such as tremors and irritability. Dr. Talone then stated that she wanted to run more tests. Once Dr. Talone left, Britt and Austin joked about the doctor’s lack of bedside manner and made a comparison to Britt.

Britt thanked Austin for treating her no differently. She admitted that her disease was easier to discuss with someone she didn’t know well because she wanted her loved ones to remember her and not her disease. She stated that she knew how her story would end. The doctor returned and announced that Britt had Stage 3 Huntington’s. Austin grabbed Britt’s arm as the doctor explained that while it was probably a low to intermediate stage, the symptoms would increase, including those of cognitive impairment. She thought that Britt could survive another five to 15 years, although she could need full-time care in as little as 18 months.

Scott met with Cody and sat down with him at a table in Metro Court. Cody said that he wanted legal advice because he might be coming into an “absurd amount of money.” Scott suggested that it was illegal, but Cody assured him it wasn’t. Cody told Scott about the necklace that belonged to either the heirs of Faison or those of Taub. Scott had advice for Cody. “Run for the hills!” he exclaimed. Scott said that the diamonds being cut from the Ice Princess were cursed.

At Pier 55, Robert shouted at Holly. He yelled that he had baited her with a phony address for Anna, and Agent Whitten had appeared there after an anonymous tip from Holly. “How long have you been working with Victor?” he demanded to know. Holly admitted the truth, although she insisted it was not by choice. She grew hysterical and informed him that he would be a target if she told him anything. Robert replied that everyone was a target with Victor around, and he wanted to hear all of it.

Holly told Robert of her lies, she remembered the past two years. She took a deep breath and explained that she had been investigating Rudge and his casino, and she’d heard that he’d been working with Victor. She went on to say that her cover had been blown, and she’d been taken captive. She recalled being able to phone Robert for help, and he remembered the call. She said that Victor had threatened her, and he’d forced her to watch as he killed her sister, Paloma.

Robert recalled Paloma’s body being found on the casino grounds. He noted that she’d resembled Holly. Holly recounted that Paloma had been wearing Holly’s wedding ring, and dental records had been falsified. She continued that she’d been moved from Crete to somewhere else and then to Port Charles. She explained that Anna had been in the way of Victor’s plans, and she had also been ordered to distract Robert. Holly admitted to being the one to have shot Lucy, although she maintained that she’d used one rubber bullet. She added that a second bullet had been fired into the water, leaving behind residue and casings.

Holly assured Robert that Lucy wasn’t dead, and he was skeptical. She said that Victor had never wanted to hurt Lucy. She explained that she had been wearing prosthetics when she’d committed the shooting, in order to resemble Anna. She said that Victor’s guards had retrieved Lucy from the water. She told Robert that  Victor couldn’t know that she’d told Robert anything, or her son Ethan would be in danger.

In Sonny’s office, Carly finished rebuking Sonny when Brick returned with Dex. Carly hastily departed. “Where the hell have you been?” Sonny asked. Dex told him about the bullet graze, how he’d been lying low and lost his phone. Brick and Sonny exchanged looks. They agreed it was all less than professional, but Dex insisted he could be counted on.

As Josslyn packed away all the bloody clothing and bandages, Carly arrived and announced that she’d seen Dex in Sonny’s office. Josslyn was annoyed, but Carly reminded her that Dex was working for Sonny of his own volition and it was his choice to continue to do so. Carly wondered if Josslyn would even see Dex again. Josslyn announced that she needed to get to the fire pit.

After Dr. Talone left Britt’s office, Britt told Austin that she wanted to be alone. She closed the door and wandered around. She picked up her diploma and her business card. Her quiet weeping turned into rage as she threw things and swiped the items off her desk with a vengeance. She looked at her trembling hand and sobbed. She picked up the necklace from the floor just as Cody knocked on the door.

Update written by Shane

At General Hospital, Spinelli told Sam that he had found a juvenile arrest record for Cody. Spinelli said that Cody’s record hadn’t been uploaded to any databases, and he added that he was more than ready to find out what was in the records.

Maxie confronted Austin regarding the odd number of surgeries he has been performing.  Austin explained that the hospital is simply understaffed but Maxie thought Austin had been avoiding her.

In her office at the hospital, Britt received a visit from Sam. Britt asked if Sam had come to talk about the necklace. Sam was leery of sharing information about the necklace because Cody was present but Britt gave her blessing, so Sam shared what she knew..

Based on what Sam has uncovered, the necklace had been in Leopold Taub’s possession, and Cody was likely its rightful heir. Sam added that the necklace could have been obtained by Faison and that if a sales receipt were to surface, the necklace could belong to Britt.

Austin knocked, and he asked Britt to step outside with him. Outside Britt’s office, Austin informed Britt that he had located a Canadian expert on Huntington’s disease and that she was driving into Port Charles to discuss the matter with Britt.  Britt began to give the same excuses about how she could possibly meet the doctor today because she had so many things to get done.  Austin implored Britt to meet with the doctor to put the issues to rest.

Alone in Britt’s office, Sam told Cody that she knew why Cody had forced Spinelli into matching Britt with Cody. “It’s the necklace. That’s what you’ve been after all along, isn’t it?” Sam asked.

Sam said that it was convenient that a necklace worth millions had turned up in Britt’s safe deposit box not long after Cody had arrived in town. Sam also pointed out that Cody had used blackmail as a way to get closer to Britt.

Sam asked what Cody meant, but Britt reentered before Cody could answer. Sam left, and Britt remarked that Cody had just inherited “some major coin.” Just then, Victor appeared outside Britt’s office, and he overheard Britt say that Cody had inherited part of the Ice Princess diamond.

Later, Sam asked Spinelli to hold off on looking into Cody’s arrest record. When Spinelli asked why Sam had changed her mind, Sam said that she had her reasons, and she asked Spinelli to promise to leave the matter alone.

At the Metro Court, Robert wondered why Holly looked so grim. Holly said that Lucy and Anna were both on her mind. Holly told Robert how much it had meant to her that Robert had never lost hope in finding her. Holly changed the subject back to Lucy and Anna. Robert said he knew that Anna was somewhere safe. Robert’s phone rang, and he asked the caller to text him the address to Anna’s safe house. Holly spilled her drink (on purpose), and she asked Robert to bring her a club soda. When Robert left, Holly looked at Robert’s phone, and she saw the address that had been texted. Robert returned, and Holly left with the excuse that she had made an appointment with Kevin to help treat her memory issues. On an elevator, Holly phoned Victor to ask for a meeting.

At Pier 55 on the Waterfront District, Laura ran into Victor. Laura had been on her way to visit Nikolas at Wyndemere, and Victor offered to share a launch. Laura refused. Victor asked Laura to drop her “pointless vendetta” against him. Laura said that when she sorted everything out, she would take Victor down.

Victor claimed that he was saddened by Laura’s “stubborn refusal” to let the past be the past. Laura accused Victor of having framed Anna for Lucy’s murder. Victor said he wanted Lucy’s killer brought to justice. Laura agreed that it was something they both had in common, and she left.

Later, Holly met Victor at the pier, and she reluctantly gave Victor the same address that had been texted to Robert. Victor was surprised by how easily Holly had volunteered the information, and he said that Holly would have to alert the police to Anna’s whereabouts herself. Victor left after he received a text.

At the Port Charles Police Station, Mac and Dante overheard Agent Witten tell someone over the phone to keep an eye on Valentin because Valentin could lead the Marshal’s office straight to Anna. Mac and Dante returned to the interrogation room. Mac shared that Cody wasn’t his son. Dante sympathized with Mac, and Felicia entered with food for Mac and Dante. Dante left to get coffee.

Felicia thought that Mac had been lying about his true feelings about the results of Cody’s DNA tests. Mac said he had more pressing issues to worry about, and he referenced that Anna was being framed for murder and that a serial killer was on the loose. Felicia pleaded with Mac to be honest with her about his feelings about Cody’s DNA results.

Mac acknowledged that he did wish he had a biological child so that he could share the bond that Felicia has with Maxie.

Dante returned with coffee, and moments later, Witten entered the interrogation room with Laura. Witten announced that he had a lead on Anna’s whereabouts, and he offered to let Mac and Dante ride with him.

Felicia received a text from Mac, and she shared that Witten’s van had pulled up outside the suspected safe house. Felicia added that Witten wouldn’t hesitate to “take Anna down” if Anna refused to surrender willingly. Laura hoped that Mac and Dante could get Anna out of the house safely.

At the safe house, Anna was surprised when Valentin had appeared. After Valentin entered, Anna pulled him close for a kiss. Valentin told Anna that it was no longer safe for her to be at the safe house, and he wanted to get Anna out of the country.

Afterwards, Valentin held Anna, and he swore that he would always fight for her. Later, Anna walked down the stairs with a suitcase. She and Valentin heard the sound of an approaching car. The two prepared to say goodbye, and they swore to bring Victor down.

At the same time, in an outdoor area near a house, Witten announced to his men that he had two SWAT agents stationed near the back of the house, and he instructed Dante to get in position to take a shot if necessary. Witten’s team entered the house with a battering ram. Once inside, Witten was stunned to find the place completely empty. Witten yelled for his men to find out how Anna had escaped. Mac asked Witten what he thought had happened. “Either the anonymous caller got it wrong and gave us a bad tip, or they got it right and we got here too late,” Witten snapped.

Dante wondered who had called in the tip. Mac said that Witten had learned a valuable lesson, not to underestimate Anna Devane.

Alone at the docks, Holly flashed back to the sound of two gunshots. Holly was startled when she turned to see Robert. “You’ve got some explaining to do,” Robert told Holly.

At the hospital, Spinelli told Sam that he had found a juvenile arrest record for Cody.
