THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

[ Door opens ] So this is where you’ve been hiding out? I haven’t been hiding. I’ve been making a home for us. Charlotte: Papa, why is the door open? The met was amazing. Yeah. Were you really surprised? Yeah. I mean, I knew that we were going to the met, but a first-class tour through the archives? I didn’t expect that. Yeah, well, it makes me very happy to see you so happy. It was like a backstage pass to a taylor swift concert. Wow. I couldn’t believe that you did that for me. Well, there’s nothing that I wouldn’t do for you, trina robinson. Enough? Feeling any better?

[ Groans ] Some. [ Sighs ] Thanks, bro. My eyes were really starting to burn. Okay. Yeah, listen, I know they teach the, uh — the gun safety there at the academy. What about the, uh — the pepper spray safety? Oh, that’s funny. I’ll have you know, your little brother was able to defuse a volatile situation without any gunfire. It was worth the collateral damage. Well, good. No driving for half an hour. That’s doctor’s orders. Yes, sir. I’ll, uh — I’ll see you in the lounge when you’re done. Thanks again. Okay.

[ Door opens ]

[ Telephone ringing ]

[ Elevator dings ] Dr. Finn! Congratulate me. Congratulations. Who’d you fire this time? Oh, sadly, no one. Ah. But I did just get reinstated to the hospital board. Hm.

[ Knock on door ]

[Muffled] Come in. I know you’re swamped, but did you get a chance to read my op-ed piece? I e-mailed it to you. And I will check my box as soon as I get a chance. I have a hard copy here. Save you some time. Okay. I’d love for you to read it. And I will. I’m almost done, and as soon as I finish this, I will read it. Thanks. Thanks. Oh.

[ Sighs ]

[ Sighs ]

[ Dramatic music plays ] Skydive. Visit the van gogh museum in amsterdam. Take violet to disneyland. Hot yoga. Read “anna karenina.” Hike machu picchu. Going to racing school. Let me ask you one question, gladys. How are you going to pay for this trip? ‘Cause I already know that you stole sasha’s money to pay back your gambling debt to selina wu. No, that’s not how it — shut up. I don’t want to hear any more lies. I’m gonna make sure that you don’t lie again. Do you understand what I’m saying? Sonny, please — no. What do you want? You want me to listen to more lies? You want me to ignore that you betrayed my trust, that you dishonored your own son and robbed his widow? Sonny, I never meant for — I don’t care what you meant! I know exactly what you did. And now you’re going to pay for it. Daniels, I need you to get a prisoner from the holding cell and bring him to interrogation one. Which prisoner, sir? Cody bell.

[ Screams ] What the hell are you doing here? Drop the syringe. Let sasha go. Oh, I’m sorry. I don’t take orders from mental patients who committed assault and kidnapping. He was trying to save me from you! And the other cuckoo bird sings. Hey, hey, hey, hey. I’m walking out of here, and I’m taking her with me.

Hi, charlotte. Hi. Anna. How do you like our home? Well, um… it’s lovely. Thank you. Jake asked if we could meet at the skateboard park. Really? I was thinking maybe we could — papa, please. He wants to show me a trick wyatt taught him. I finished all my homework at school. Okay, fine. Have fun. Be careful. I always am. Bye, papa. It was… lovely. [ Laughs ] Yeah, sorry about that. She’s enjoying the new house and being close to her friend jake. Sure. Come in. Anna. I owe you an apology. Ohh! I hate that we have to leave today. I know.

[ Sighs ] Our time here went by so fast, but I’m gonna remember every single moment. It was amazing watching you at the museum today. Watching me? Mm-hmm. You’re supposed to be looking at the art. Yeah, but I couldn’t take my eyes off you. I don’t know. You were so in your element. You seemed so happy. Seemed so intense. Be careful, spencer. You’re gonna make me fall in love with you even more. Me? Y-you’re in love with me? You know I am. I guess that works out pretty good, because I am crazy — I mean crazy — in love with you.

[ Knock on door ] So, what do you think? I’m sure it was perfect. Look, thanks, but I was really hoping you’d read it. I always respect your opinion. And I will. I-I’ll read it on my phone during one of my endless circulation meetings. Okay. Oh.

[ Sighs ] Board of directors? That’s a lot of work. What possessed you? My family has donated a great deal of money to this hospital, and I felt it would behoove me to make sure our investment isn’t mismanaged. Okay. Well, now that you’re, I guess, technically one of my bosses, I probably should pretend to be working. Backgammon thursday? Definitely. Okay. It’s time to come clean, gladys. You stole from sasha. And then when she was ready to get her money back, you hired a doctor to mess with her head.

[ Breathes shakily ] Actually, it was worse than that, sonny. What can be worse than that, sam? The doctor was gladys’ poker buddy, and he put sasha on a medication that made her hallucinate when taken in combination with her antidepressant. And that’s when she stabbed cody? I swear, I never asked him to drug sasha. When I found out what he was doing, I tried to make him stop. I did everything I could to set sasha free. Another lie! Sorry, chief. Cody bell isn’t here. What? He’s not in holding. He was let out in the custody of detective falconeri. Said he was taking him back to ferncliff. Oh, boy. Come on, let’s go. Dr. Montague: Get away from the door. You know this can never work. I know it can work. Mnh-mnh. There’s enough propofol in this syringe to turn sasha into sleeping beauty. Only all the prince charmings in the world would never be able to wake her up. Or if she’s just lucky, it’ll kill her. Is that how you want this fairy tale to end, mr. Bell? Don’t listen to him, cody. Shut up! I have nothing to lose now. And that makes a man brave. You want to gamble, cody? It’s gonna be okay, sasha. Dr. Montague: That’s right, sasha. Everything is going to be just fine. Dr. Montague? Oh, good. I’m gonna need your help, janice.

Call security, janice. Don’t listen to him. He kidnapped sasha and assaulted me. What are you doing, dr. Montague? He’s been drugging me since before I even got here. I’m gonna call security. You’re not going to move unless you want sasha’s death on your hands. Now, you listen to me. You are gonna make sure that every security door is open so me and my friend here can get out the back entrance. And if I hear any alarms go off when we walk out, she dies. And you are going to stay here, mr. Bell, or she dies. Now, janice! Cody!

[ Cody grunting ]

[ Both grunting ] Cody. If you wanted to set sasha free, you would have come to me. You would have told me what you did. That would have been thinking of her safety instead of trying to save your own skin. Yeah, but when has she ever cared about anyone else? Never. Never. That’s not true. Brando was everything. Yeah, bran– you said — you said brando was dead because you wanted to collect the insurance money. And then when my father got alzheimer’s, you wanted to worm your way into the family. No. No. I loved mike. Okay. Look. Do not lie to me again.

[ Sighs ] So, how did you manage to get us a private tour through the archives? I pulled a few strings. Oh, did you? Mm-hmm. I had no idea that you were gonna like it as much as you did, though. Are you kidding?

[ Laughs ] Seeing the artists’ work in different stages and hearing the tour guide just talk in such great detail — I loved it, and I feel like it’s gonna make me see art in a different way now. Yeah? How so? Mm. If I tell you, it’s gonna sound ridiculous. Tell me! Okay. Um… I feel like I’ve been looking at paintings through my eyes, my perspective only. And — and after learning about such amazing works of art, like the process, and the politics of the times, the materials, I feel like it helped me to see art from their perspective — like if I’m seeing it through their eyes. I’m sorry. I know that sounded ridiculous. I told you it would sound ridiculous. No, no. No, it doesn’t sound ridiculous at all. I think it makes perfect sense. Sorry. It was in with the article. It’s alright. I guess I was trying to decide what should be next on the list, and somehow the page got mixed up in the article. It’s a very impressive and diverse list. You helped me get rid of one of them. I saw that.

[ Chuckles ] Okay. What’s next? Skydiving.

[ Sighs ] What do you say? You want to help me knock another one off the list? Of course you’d have to pick that one first. Yes, monica, it was pointed out to me that the hospital board is a lot of work. Monica, I’ve got to go. I’ll see you at home. Chase? Are you alright? I’m fine. You’re clearly not fine. Did something happen to brook lynn? No. Is it your father? Did he fall down again?

The E.R.?I was just talking to finn. We should go get him. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Wait, wait. Slow down. What — what are you talking about? Well, you were crying, so I thought that — that my father fell? I got hit with some pepper spray. It’s nothing. Oh. Oh.

[ Laughs awkwardly ] Don’t they teach you how to use that stuff? I hope it — I hope you feel better. Oh, no, not so fast. Wait. You’re not going anywhere until you tell me what’s going on. Nothing’s going on. I was mistaken. Ms. Quartermaine, I can see that you know something that I don’T. Now tell me what it is. So do you really think it makes sense when I talk about art? Mm-hmm.

[ Laughs ] Yeah. Yeah. Trina, when you look at a painting, you don’t just see brushstrokes and style and… balance, I don’t know. [ Laughs ] No, I think that you see the — you see the artist’s intent and you see their passion and the underlying humanity of the painting. And it really doesn’t even come as a surprise to me because I think that that’s just who you are. That’s who you’ve been since the day that I met you. You’re a vibrant person. You’re an empathetic person. And you’ve completed parts of me that I never even knew needed to be completed. And what we were able to share together this weekend is… it’s all I’ve ever wanted.

[ Chuckles ] I’ve been keeping secrets.

[ Laughs ] So I see. Yeah. Well, you know what? So have I. I think that’s the pattern in our relationship. After the fire, you were so despondent, I went looking for another home, and I found this place. And the deal was difficult, so martin stepped in and finessed the negotiation. Oh, god, I knew he was involved. You did? Yes. Because I followed you here one day. I didn’t know who it was that you were meeting, but then I remembered that martin had come to our hotel room with paperwork for you to sign, so then it kind of all made sense. I have given you far too many reasons not to trust me. Yes, you have. Anna: I don’t understand. Why would you feel the need to keep this secret? You never loved my dad. And if he hadn’t gotten alzheimer’s, he’d have seen that. You saw it as an opportunity to come into the family saying how great family is, how much you believed in family. And I let you go along with it because it was m-my dad’s last days and I wanted them to be good days. Or maybe I just believed a bit. I don’t know. It was true. It was a lie, like everything else! You used my dad like you used your son and you used sasha. And I’m gonna tell you right now, the days of you using anyone are over. Cody, let him go. What the hell is going on? Oh, thank god you’re here. This man tried to kill me, and your own officer witnessed it. That’s a lie. Of course she would side with him. She is a very sick woman. And he broke her out of here. Did you see what happened? I called her for assistance. Before she was about to call security, this officer stopped mr. Bell. Is that what happened? No. Dr. Montague was holding that syringe on miss gilmore. He threatened to kill her if I didn’t let him escape. Cuff him. Detective, maybe you should read him his rights. Dante: Will do. Dr. Montague, you’re under arrest. You have the right to remain silent… it’s finally over, sasha. Thank you, cody. Thank you.

No one can ever take away the time that we spent together this weekend. I’ll never forget it. And not just because of this beautiful necklace you gave me. This was actually a selfish gift. Now, whenever you wear it, I’ll be reminded of the incredible weekend that we had together, which I needed. It’s been so nice to have some time away from port charles and all of the distractions there. It’s made me see so much clearer just how much I love you.

[ Laughs ] I love you, too. You know, we still have time before we have to leave. Should we go out for one last meal?

[ Laughs ] You’re making it sound like we’re facing a firing squad. Well, I’m just trying to be considerate. I know that you haven’t eaten since breakfast, and you pointed out that one restaurant near lincoln center. Yeah, I’m a little hungry, but, um… I’d rather just eat here. At the hotel dining room? In bed. Oh, in bed? Oh, okay. That sounds pretty good. Room service it is. Valentin: At first, I kept it a secret because I-I didn’t know if we were gonna close, and I didn’t want to disappoint you. You didn’t want to disappoint me? Anna, I bought the house for you. Oh, for god’S… for us, so that we could move in here with charlotte. We could start a life together. Leave him there while you get the nurse’s official statement. So you thought cody should come to ferncliff for some official reason? Yeah. You know, mac, I thought it would look good on the department if he was evaluated, you know? Very clever. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, technically — you covered your ass. Yeah. So how did cody end up confronting montague? Well, montague was leaving ferncliff. Cody wanted to follow him, but I made him stay here, and I followed him. He looked like he was gonna leave. He took a turn down the dirt road near the entrance, ditched his car and came back here. And you got back here just in time to stop cody? Yeah. You know, this guy’s been drugging sasha for months, nearly killed her. Now, we got a solid witness in that nurse. Cody did good. Yeah, cody did good. That doctor’s going away for a long time. Thank you. I was so afraid this was all gonna blow up in our faces and dr. Montague would get away with it. But he didn’T. Yeah. And gladys won’t either. Can you excuse us for a second? Sure. Don’t — don’t — don’t — don’t leave me here with — I am sure sonny’s gonna do exactly what needs to be done. Sonny, please. Please.

[ Door closes ] I’m sorry. I’m so, so sorry. It was the gambling. It’s — it’s a disease, an addiction. And I had no control over it. I got in over my head and there was no way out. None of this was supposed to happen. But it did happen, gladys. And now you’re gonna pay. Look, chase, I-I think you should speak to your father. About what? My father only puts up with you because of brook lynn. So how could you know something about him falling that I don’t know? I didn’t say that I know anything. Tracy, damn it, just tell me what’s going on. I — oh, god, chase. Your father has als. Oh, my god. Pick something else. Alright. Skydiving is out. Machu picchu will have to wait. Yeah, definitely. I’ve got it.

[ Sighs ]

Ah, can’t we just stay like this forever? Yeah. I wish that the world worked that way. But there are people back in port charles who miss you, like your mom and your dad. Mm-hmm. Thinking about what happened to my dad made me realize how fragile life is. And thinking about what he’s going through right now makes me feel guilty for being so happy. No. Come on. No, they want you to be happy. Your mom might not be terribly pleased with the person who makes you happy, but — I-I just — I just think she’s being protective. Deep down, she knows that you’re a good person. She knows that you love your little brother and that you’d do anything to protect him. I just don’t want him to feel abandoned. He won’T.

[ Knock on door ] Man: Room service. Hey. Alright. You stay here. I’ll get it. Well, it certainly is a very beautiful house, valentin, in a gorgeous location. It’s perfect. I should have talked to you about it. I just wanted to ride in like your white knight and say, “here, anna, here’s a wonderful new home. Come live with me.” But I should have asked what you wanted. But you can’t blame me, ’cause all I’ve ever wanted is a life with you. Victor: My dearest charlotte, it is with a heavy heart that I must write to you and share my concerns about our family’s future, a family I cherish and would give my life for. My concern centers around your father and a path I believe he’s headed down, filled with unhappiness and danger. I’m afraid your father has gotten weak, charlotte. I had so much hope for him. But he’s forgotten how truly important family is since he’s fallen in love with anna devane. Anna has completely manipulated your father. She has taken advantage of his infatuation with her. God knows her charms escape me, but she’s used them to control your father. Her extensive training in espionage has afforded her the ability to mask who she really is. I tell you this — anna devane is not who she seems. Do not trust her. Not for a minute. And it is imperative you never forget you are strong, charlotte. The cassadine women are often the most formidable. Even if valentin brings anna further into your life, I know you’ll never succumb to her so-called charms. You won’t let her destroy what our family stands for. She is a liar, capable of treacherous deceit. Be wary and be warned. Be armed. You must stay strong. You must use any weapon you can to defeat anna, because your father clearly will do whatever she asks. And she will use his feelings. She will use your father and lead him into danger. She will lead him to his death. My dear charlotte, you are the only one who can protect your father from anna devane. You, his most cherished possession, must save him. To guide you, I’m giving you these very special tarot cards. They are powerful tools, charlotte. You’ll find them helpful. Use them wisely. Use them to protect and save your father, a man we both love dearly. Your ally and loving grandfather, victor cassadine.

Woman: Thank you for coming, everyone. Thank you newcomers. Namaste. Nama-hot. Well, that was a lot better than I ever thought it would be. Are you kidding? Right? Oh. Thank you for enduring the class. Oh, I’m glad you enjoyed it. I really did. I feel great. Oh, good. You know, actually, it wasn’t — it wasn’t that bad. So you’ll be back? No. Okay. What’s next? Uh, I guess a shower. No. I mean, what’s next on your bucket list? Oh, uh, I’m gonna wait to decide until after I tell chase. You haven’t told chase yet? No. No. He’s been so happy with brook lynn. And I know when I tell him I have als, it’s gonna break both of our hearts. Chase: Is it true? Yes. Is he here? No. I know this is difficult. Try to stay calm. Our father is dying. He was gonna tell you. Wait. How long has he known? A few months. What? A-and you have, too? No. He only told me a couple of weeks ago. A couple of weeks? How could I not know, but he tells the son who cut him out of his life for 20 years? This has been very difficult for him. Wait, and you knew? No, it wasn’t like that. Like what? Like you and my brother knew that my father was dying and nobody cared to tell me? Chase. Wait. Don’T…even think about it. And thank you, tracy, for being honest with me. I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry. I really thought that you knew. Yeah, well, obviously, you were mistaken. You saved my life, cody. You believed in me. Yeah, well, I wasn’t the only one. Only one what? That believed in sasha. He’s right. If you and sam hadn’t believed in me, I could have been locked in here for the rest of my life. Or worse. Well, this guy made a compelling case. And you know what, sam, you know, she believed in you from the beginning. She knew from the start there was something wrong, and she was determined to prove it. And when she is determined, it’s best just to stay out of the way… not a good feeling, is it, doc? Now you’re the one in sasha’s place. Trapped, helpless. Sit down, gladys. Sit down. Alright. In these situations, I think it’s always best for, you know, people like you to get everything off their chest before it’s all over. Over? Over? Yeah, I want you to tell me everything without whining and excuses. This is something that you need for your soul. The gambling debt was to selina wu. She threatened me, so I paid her with sasha’s money. I owed her even more when sasha wanted to end the guardianship, so I made a deal with montague to make sasha look unfit. He gave her a drug that was just supposed to confuse her. But, sonny, I swear to you — stop whining. I told you to stop whining. You used sasha, you took advantage of her love and trust, and you locked her in a living hell. Just say it! I used sasha and took advantage of her love and trust. Finish it. And I locked her in a living hell. That’s good. But now you’re gonna have to see what it’s gonna cost you. Frank!

Spencer: Okay. Boarding passes are downloaded and the bellhop has our bags. I’m so glad you left room in your suitcase, because I never would have gotten all the stuff that I brought here. I can’t even get it closed. Let me get it. Let me get it. Thank you. Ooph. Thank you. Okay, you all set? Yeah. Alright. Goodbye, room. Thank you. So you might not have handled this perfectly, but I — I do think the sentiment is kind of beautiful. You really think so? Yeah, I really do. Unfortunately, now that we have the house, the circumstances have kind of changed. Oh, what’s happened? Well, after the fire, I lost focus on what was going on with my daughter. Oh, yeah. You know, she’s had a lot of adjustments this year. Of course. She has. Boarding school. Life with laura and sam and dante and their kids. Yeah, yeah. She seems very happy now, though. But it’s made me realize that I need to give her my undivided attention right now. Okay, I get that. Yeah. I’m so sorry. I bought this house for you, and now I realize that it’s not the right time to ask you to come and live with us. I understand that charlotte — she needs some time alone. She does. Okay. You know, your love for your daughter is — is…very beautiful. Anna, I promise, as soon as everything is right, we’ll move in together. Victor: You must use any weapon

you can to defeat anna. I hope at some point, you’ll read my op-ed piece. I promise I’ll do it as soon as humanly possible. Thank you. Thank you for everything, alexis. Thank you. Hey, I’ve got a question. Shoot. You never read “anna karenina”? I’m starting it tonight. Finn. Finn. I’m so sorry. I-I saw that he was crying, and I naturally — not your fault. It’s not your fault, tracy. It’s — took way too long. We should have told him. I — I should have told him. He had a right to know. You were just trying to respect your father’s wishes. Finn, there’s no good way to handle a situation like this. But I handled it the wrong way. All wrong. Oh, cody, really screwed up this one, didn’t you? Mm. Assault. Kidnapping. My lawyers are going to explain this away just as a misunderstanding. I was merely defending myself. Mm. Yeah. You know, I don’t think that’s gonna happen, but just in case.

[ Groans ] Let’s go, cody. Everything okay? This man assaulted me again, and your officer saw it. Dante? No, mac, I didn’t see anything, actually. What? Mac: Daniels. Get the doctor ready to be transported back to the station and booked for attempted murder, among other things. I’m so sorry, sasha. It’s not your fault. He had a lot of people fooled. Sasha. Hey, you ready to get out of here? Can we go? Absolutely. Thank you. Frank’s gonna take you on a little ride. Sonny, please. To bridgeport, back to your old life. And if you leave bridgeport, I’ll know about it. Talk to anybody, you know, about the fact that we’re related, I’ll know it. If you — even if you put a quarter in a slot machine, I’ll know about it. You do any of those things, and frank’s gonna take you on another ride, which will be your last ride. I understand. Sonny, I don’t know how to thank you for everything. Don’t thank me. Get out of my sight. Don’t touch that luggage, ’cause that’s — sasha paid for that luggage. It’s not yours.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

Ava, what the hell are you doing here? I thought you were on the run. Well, now I’m back. And I brought you a little surprise. Not that you deserve it after trying to kill me. I have no idea what you’re talking about. Save me the phony denials, CJ. I know you sent that woman to Bayview to murder me. And that’s why I’m here.

To end this. Now. End it how? See for yourself.

Mother! It’s you, it’s me! Mother? Oh,

that’s baby! So it’s my

You’re leaving Salem. Do you mean with Xander? Aren’t you getting married after all? No, um, now that Xander knows that he’s the father of Sarah’s baby, what he and I had, um, is over. I’m sorry. Yeah, me too. We obviously can’t live together anymore, and there’s no way I can stay at the Spectator, so without a job and no relationship, there’s nothing really keeping me here.

Come on, Victoria. Please just nap a little bit so that mommy can rest too. Ugh.

Sarah? Kate! What’s wrong? What’s wrong is that you have dragged my son into this psycho drama with Xander Cook and now you’ve put a target directly on Rex’s back.

What the hell do you want?

You mean, what am I doing here? You texted me to come over. What? Talk about Sarah’s baby. No, I didn’t. But, Sarah, I don’t have time for your games and your crap. Just stop lying. I’m not lying. I sent you a text. Then who did?

Like sand through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives.

What’s that? It’s a text you sent me. That’s not my number. I didn’t send that. If you didn’t send this, who did? I don’t have a bloody clue, but since you’re here, Rex, look, we should talk about the baby. My baby. The one whose father you’re pretending to be. There’s no pretend here. I am legally Victoria’s father.

My name is on her birth certificate. You think a line on a piece of paper is going to keep me from my daughter? No, but a judge will. Then I’ll show the judge a DNA test that shows clearly that I’m Victoria’s biological father and you’re just some pathetic loser that Sarah roped into perpetuating a fraud.

We have been over this. You can fight it all you want but there’s not a court on the planet that is going to award you custody. So get over it. It’s over. Move on. Never. So, what’s the plan, Anzander, hmm? Well, for starters, you’re gonna give up any claim that you have to Victoria, and then you’re gonna divorce Sarah.

Oh, I’m so sorry, Kate. I’m, I’m quite sleep deprived at the moment. What, what are, what are you talking about? Okay, don’t try to play on my sympathies as a mother, because you have put my child directly in the line of fire. The line of fire? Okay. You know, maybe you want to have a romantic relationship with Xander Cook.

That is your decision. But you have been finally woken to the fact that he’s a homicidal maniac. So I do not appreciate you using my son as your human shield. I mean, what do you want, Sarah? Do you want to see Rex dead? Is that it?

Nigel, you were alive, but I didn’t think it was possible. I, I, I have so many questions, I don’t know where to begin.

What, just, you know what, start at the very beginning, like I always say, sweetheart. You, you, you look good, you sound good, are you, are you alright? Are you okay? Are you okay now? Well, especially now love you. Mother, I’ve missed you, I’ve missed you so much. PJ’s car’s down. It’s time to make the move. We have to get that confession.

We promised rape bombs. Don’t worry about it. Hey, Susan. Susan, I’m really glad that I was able to get you reunited with your son back home, but, um… You think you could help me out? Oh! You want me to help you out? Okay, you know what? I could do a reading for you, and, you know, a poem writing, or an oral reading.

No, no, no, not that kind of help, Susan. Just… Maybe you could ask your son to apologize for sending that woman to Bayview to murder me. Oh, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right. You know what, son? You’re going to listen to your mama right now. Now you are going to confess your sins.

Right this moment. And you’re going to beg Ava for her forgiveness. Hmm?

Where will you go? Well, um, my parents and Parker are in New York, so it makes sense for me to go there. You know, I just need a little bit of… Time to process all of this and figure out what’s next. Alright. Well, thanks for telling me, Chloe. You didn’t have to. I wanted to. What, you thought I’d just take off without saying anything?

Um, well, in the past you might have. I wouldn’t have blamed you. Yeah, you’re right, but in the past I would have worried that this kind of news was going to send you into some obsessive tailspin. But, like I told you last night, Philip, I know that you have changed and I’m not worried about you anymore. I’m glad.

I’m glad, too. I’m so glad that you’re alive, and I’m so proud of you for doing all that work to get better. And reconnecting with you has been…

It has been pretty great.

New York’s beautiful this time of year. Yeah, I know. And a change of scenery will be good for me, but I will miss you.

Miss you too.

Of course I don’t want Rex dead. What kind of a question is that? The whole reason that you didn’t want Xander near your baby is because you were terrified of him, right? You knew he was a dangerous man. You knew that if he was in Victoria’s life that she would never be safe, right? That’s, that’s right.

Okay. So, it was alright if my son isn’t safe, though? I mean, I, I don’t get that. I, I, it, this plan of yours for him to pretend to be the father of your baby, did you really think that you could pull that off? My, yeah, my hope was that it would, the truth would never come out. Okay, but you knew that it would.

And when it did, Xander would be out for blood, right? I mean, the thing is, I understand you wanting to protect an innocent child, but why would you do that and risk my son’s life? I mean, is that okay? You’d have to ask your son. What the hell does that mean? What it means, Kate, is I didn’t come up with the idea to lie about Victoria’s paternity.

Rex did.

We just got married, you idiot. Your marriage is a joke. She only did it to stick it to me. She did it because she thinks you’re a threat to her daughter, which you are. You guys are both insane. If you think I’ll ever do anything to hurt Victoria, you, on the other hand, I’d have no problem causing you a great deal of pain.

You need to get out of my face and stay out of Sarah’s life and her baby’s. And if I don’t? What are you gonna do, Rex? Are you gonna kill me? Of course you aren’t.

He’s not gonna kill you. That’s my job.

I’ve showed her confessions are good for the show. Now I want you to admit to Ava what you did. And I want you to call off the assassin, hmm? Now I’m alive, sweetheart. There’s no need for vengeance now. There is another

sitting duck waiting for you. Right here in Salem, in fact. Another tag at home. It was accomplice, Xander Cook.

Oh my God. What is it? That’s good. Good. Do you know what to I, I, I have to go. I, I, I just remembered I have a critical business engagement. Well, wait a matter of, it’s a matter of life and death. I’ll be back soon. I love you so much, brother. I’ll be back. I promise. Oh, I forgot about me getting into that boy’s bonnet to make him run out of here so fast.

What the hell are you doing? I’m gonna shoot you, then I’m gonna put the gun in his hand. You know Rex? I know he’s going down for murder. Whose murder? Yours. I’m sure somebody heard you guys arguing. Once they hear this gunshot, they’ll call the cops. By the time they get here, I’ll be long gone. You’ll be dead.

And this poor sucker will take the rap for it.

So, what are your plans? Uh, actually I don’t have any. Just taking it one day at a time. Though I’m sure my mother has my entire life all mapped out for me. I’m sure she does. Truth is, she can plan all she wants. Us karaoke says we don’t stick to the script. Like to keep things interesting. Oh yeah? Like what’s going on with my family right now.

It’s like that show, the one with Cassandra and Rhett. Body and soul? You watch that. I’ve had a lot of time on my hands. Anyway, it’s been wild. First, Vivian shows up out of nowhere. Announces she’s entitled to my father’s entire fortune. Then they find his revised will. Thank God. So she gets nothing. Maggie gets half.

The other half goes to my brother Alex. Oh, yeah, I heard about that. Alex’s victor’s son. Your brother? That must be strange for you. Well, he was always family. Now he’s closer family. Me, Bo, and Alex. Victor’s three sons. Though I’m not sure where I belong in the new configuration, but I’ll figure it out. I’m sure Victor loved you all equally.

Yeah, I think he did. And although my dad and I didn’t have the smoothest relationship of all time, I loved him too. Very much. I just wish I had a chance to say goodbye.

But, luckily… No! That’s not the right word. Uh, it should be… Thankfully. I get to say goodbye to you.

Don’t be a stranger, okay? I won’t.

Bye.

Don’t leave me. Do you think that maybe you would… Want to try to figure things out in New York?

What the EJ is onto us? I don’t know. Well, I know we just missed our one chance to get him on tape admitting what he did to me. I mean, we could, we could wait and try again. No. No, no, no. When EJ saw his mother, that was the time. We’re not gonna get another chance. Look, I guess it’s time. I guess we go back down to the station and tell Rafe the bad news,

huh? You know, to come back, and I’m gonna get Harold to make us some fried bologna and manny sandwiches. Oh, Susan, I don’t really have much of an appetite. Oh, no, no, no. You gotta try one. Oh, they’re so delicious. You think, you know, Harold, he makes that lunch meat so crispy just the way I like it. Yeah, Susan, I think that Harris and I, we’re just gonna head out.

Oh. But um, before, before we do go, I want to say one thing to you.

When I had you in that car, I was in a very, very dark place. And um, I was hurt, and I was angry, and I wasn’t thinking straight. And the issues that I had, they were with EJ, they were not with you. And I never should have dragged you into it. And for that, I was wrong. And I am truly sorry. Live and

you shall be forgiven. That’s what the Bible says and that’s what I believe. Thank you, Susan. Thank you, I really am grateful for that. And I am so glad that you are okay. Okay. Oh, hold on, hold on! Wait, wait, wait! What’s, what’s uh, next for Miss Ava Vitae? I

don’t know, I um, I guess they’re gonna send me back to Bayview. Oh, you

know, given what happened to me and, and Big Crumb?

I don’t have to do this. I’d do it if I’m gonna get paid. I’ll pay you. I’ve got tons of cash in the other room. I’ll just run and get it. Yeah, yeah. No, no, no. I don’t think so. Listen, I know what you’re going through. I’ve been in your situation more times than I care to care. Not holding a gun on someone because I needed money.

I don’t need the money. I do this because I want to. I’m one of those lucky guys, I love my job. So someone hired you. Not back and guessing exactly who did that. Oh, and here he is. Hi, EJ. Come to make sure the job’s done right.

So, pretending to be the father of your baby, that was Rex’s idea? Bonnie Lockhart showed up unexpectedly to Rex’s place in Chicago and saw that I was pregnant and Rex jumped in and said the baby was his. So why didn’t you just tell her or anyone else that Rex was lying? You’re right. Yes, I could have. I could have.

You could have, but instead you decided to take advantage of his feelings for you. Well, hang on. I have always been completely honest about my feelings for Rex from the beginning. He knows that our relationship is purely platonic. Yeah, but you knew that he wanted a lot more, didn’t you? I mean, Roman and I just had breakfast with him this morning and, uh, well, he kind of laid out the, the whole plan, you know.

Even though the truth of Victoria is out, you’re going to stay married. He called me after he told you. He said that Roman was very understanding and that you were less so. Yeah, you’re right about that. Because even though Rex knows this relationship isn’t real, he’s going to do everything he can to win you back.

And you have him believing that the longer you play house together, the better the chances are that you’ll fall back in love with him. But we both know you won’t. I, I can’t predict the future, Kate. Can you? Yeah, in this case I can. Because you strung him along all the way up to the altar. You’re still feeding him false hope.

I knew there was something wrong with you and Rex right from the beginning because he was so secretive and he was so evasive about you. Two days in, before we find out about the birth of our grandchild that turns out not really to be our grandchild. But then again, all of it makes sense now, doesn’t it?

I’m sorry, Kate. I had to put my daughter first. Well, I’m not sorry. I need to put my son first. So you are greatly mistaken if you think I am going to stand by and let him take a bullet for you.

We have a deal, and I will honor my part by releasing you from your obligation to honor yours. Once I start a job, I need to finish it. Besides, this guy’s seen my face, and I don’t like to leave witnesses. Oh, there’s no problem there. I have a terrible memory for faces. I’m sure I’ll forget yours the moment you walk out that door.

You work for me. When I say the job is done, it’s done.

Fine. As long as I still get paid. You will.

I assume that you sent him here because of what I did to Susan. Why’d you call him off? Circumstances have changed. Oh, so?

Turns out my mother is still alive. Uh,

uh, come in, come in. Just, uh, take a seat, just give me a second, I want to finish this.

Okay, now what?

Susan? Yes! Susan

Delilah Banks! No, wait a minute, hold it, should it be me, or… Okay, I can just do confused, it doesn’t matter, it doesn’t matter. You’re alive. Oh my gosh. I’m not dreaming now, right? No, no, no. You’re not. You’re not dreaming. I’m real. I’m real. And if you don’t believe me, why don’t you come over here and give your good friend a great big hug.

So, Susan somehow managed to get out of the car before it blew up and, what, she’s been living it up across the pond? I wouldn’t say she’s been living it up, but yes, she survived the crash and has been in London this whole time. Oh my god, this is a miracle! Thank you, EJ! Well, thank you for coming here and telling me that.

I… And, thank you for stopping your goon from doing me in. Who are you calling? Who else? The cops. Why? Why do you think? I didn’t tell Ray Fernandes that you just hired somebody to put a bullet in

me. Sir Gray’s on a call. He should be back soon, I hope. He’s not.

Um, can you help me with this on, on my back? Yeah. Yeah? Mm hmm. Okay. Yeah, just go ahead and rip, yeah. Yeah. Yeah, just rip it off. Go ahead. Ooh. Okay. Um.

Thank you.

Like, I’m sorry we couldn’t get EJ to admit that he ordered that hit. Yeah. Me too. I was hoping it would help my case. And maybe even get the Salem PD and Rafe off my back. Maybe into my corner. Well, we may not have gotten the confession from EJ, but I mean, Susan being alive It’s gotta help.

Wait, wait. You were in London all this time? Yes, yes, I was, I was chained up in my ex hubby’s, that bedroom. I, I, I, until Ava Vitale and, and Harrish Michael showed up. Well, you must have done a wonderful job of helping them find you. Oh, yeah, I, well, but when they showed up to Edmund’s place, he took them prisoner, too.

But you know what? Thanks to Lord, we are all safe now. Yes, that’s all that matters. And… It’s a miracle, Dr. Marlena Evans?

Is being here and standing right with you right now. You so dang much. I’ve missed you too, Susan. Look, there’s something I just don’t understand. Uh, uh, so you, you crawled away from the car before it exploded. And, who found you and, and took you to Edmond? You know, much to my frustration and vexation, Uh, I still haven’t solved that one yet.

Doesn’t matter. You’re here now. With all the people that love you most in

the world. I like to say it. On hold. Are you sure you want to do this? Oh, I’m sure. And I’m sure Rafe would leave any excuse to lock you up. That is true. But I’m quite certain the Commissioner would relish the opportunity to put you behind bars as well. And what possible reason could he have to do that?

Well, the only reason you’re not in prison for kidnapping is that Rafe couldn’t find a witness to implicate you. Bonnie Kiriakis never saw your face, but my mother did. You have a point. Given the sheer hell you put Susan through, I have no doubt she’ll want to press charges against you. Unless… Unless what?

I could talk to her. Convince her to let it all go. As her one and only son, she’ll listen to me. But if I’m incarcerated, as you ratted me out to the cops… Forget it. She’ll get on the stand, tell a jury in extraordinary detail what you did to her, and then you’ll end up in a jail cell right next to me.

Despite Rex’s attempts at concealing the truth, you now know

that you’re a father. Do you really want to get to know your daughter in the visiting That is, if Sarah and her new husband would even allow it. But do you want to be free so you could fight for your daughter? So you can claim that little girl as your own. Well done, Counselor. You win. I do. Now, before I leave, let’s relieve, shall we?

Other guy was sent by the gas company to fix a leak. And I’ll talk to my mother, who will find it in her generous heart to forgive and forget. Alright, jackass. Wake up, nap time’s over. This may be hard

to hear, Kate, but… Rex is a grown man, and you need to let him make his own choices. Mm mm. No, it’s not about Rex making his own choices. It’s about me protecting him from a calculating predatory woman, and I’m never going to stop doing that. You’re using Rex. You’re using Rex to keep your ex husband away.

Look, I know that you’re worried about Xander hurting him. No, no, no, no. I’m also worried about you hurting him. And if you do, you’ll answer to me.

Get off me! Just put your right back down on the floor if you like. Dude, you did this? You used the baby to get me over here? Only to have some thug knock me out? I have no idea what you’re talking about. You hired somebody to knock me out! Don’t be ridiculous. No, no, no. We were talking about the baby. It got a bit heated.

You got very emotional and you fainted. Passed out. Shot. Hit your head on the ground. You’ve been out for half an hour. I know you did this. Because this is what you do. You hurt people. You knock them out. You kidnap them. You kill them. So I’ll tell you what, biology or not, you will never be Victoria’s father.

So do her and yourself a favor and stay the hell away from my family.

Chloe, what are you saying? You want me to move to New York with you? Okay, to be clear, I know that we both acknowledge that we have feelings for each other, but I literally just broke off my engagement and I’m nowhere near ready to jump into anything new, so if you did come, I can’t promise you anything, but I would still be really happy if we took this journey together.

And I think a change would be good for you too.

I totally get it. And look, I know I used to say I’d respect your boundaries and then blow right past them, but… I promise, Chloe, there won’t be any more of that. So, from here on out, nothing happens unless you’re comfortable with it. I know, that’s why I asked you to come. You’d really be okay with me tagging along?

At a respectable distance, with absolutely no pressure or expectations? I would be more than okay.

Then yes, I will accompany you to New York. Okay, great. So, this isn’t goodbye for us. But there are a few people that I need to tell that I’m leaving. Me too. Good luck with that. I’m gonna need it.

Yeah, I’m calling because I have some news. No, it’s not bad news. Nicole. Nicole, listen, I’m fine. I will be fine, uh, but I just don’t want to share it over the phone. So can we meet for lunch somewhere? Okay, great. Anywhere except the pub.

Hey, mom. Hey, sweetheart. I am so happy that I’m finally going to have a little quality time with one of my sons. I know how much you value our time together. So do I. Okay, um, I think I sense something here. I think I sense a butt coming. You know how much you value your time with me, butt? We’re not going to be having quite as much of it as you’d like.

Well, I think the worst they can do is send you back to Bayview. And if you go back, I’m going with you. Yeah, I don’t think that’s going to happen. Oh, it will if Dr. Evans says it should. Remember, I asked to be committed so nobody else could use me for their dirty work. Remember? Yeah, and I’m all for therapy, but I think you are way beyond needing to be locked up.

I’m sure if you asked Marlena, she’d just, she’d let you go. Or maybe I don’t want to ask her. I mean, look, we’ve been through a lot together. Almost killed by a fake nurse. Chained up by some crazy guy in London. There’s a lot of dangerous people in this world. And if you’re in there and I’m out here… Who’s going to wash my back?

It’s a nice back, by the way. Hey. I’m crazy. I’m not blind.

Mother! Mother, where are you?

Mother! Oh. Mother, I know you were here. There’s a bouquet of fried bologna mayonnaise in the air.

Where have you been? I just went to see my BFF M. E. M. D. Sorry?

My best friend forever, Marlena hmm?

I told you I had some business to take care of. Oh, more important than being with your mama who you thought you had lushed forever? There’s nothing more important than you, Mother. You know that. But now that all my business is taken care of, you have my undivided attention. Hmm,

this is what I’m going to find out from you, little shunny. When I was gone, did you behave yourself? Were you a good boy? Uh, I would love to say that I was, but where’s the fun in that? Oh,

have to your mom, don’t you?

Oh, I love you too, mama.

Stay away my arse.

Yes, sir, Xander Cook. There’s been a development in my case. Yeah, I just found out that Susan Banks is in fact alive and well. Well that does change things, doesn’t it? Changes everything. All of a sudden I’m a much more suitable parent. So, I want to sue for full custody of my daughter.

Oh, you will not believe what just happened to me. And I want to hear it, I do, but, um… There’s something I need to tell you first. What, what is it?

Sarah. It’s me, you can, you can tell me anything. Really, whatever it is, just, just, just say it.

I want a divorce.

[ Piano playing from phone ]

[ Eric coughing ]

Donna: Oh, for a second, I thought you were playing.

Eric: I tried.

[ Music stopping ]

Eric: They just… my hands won’t cooperate. I can’t. I can’t.

Donna: There’s more time for me to do that.

Eric: Thank you.

Donna: You hear from the doctor?

Eric: No, they’re still waiting to set up some new tests, so I gotta wait for that.

[ Donna sighing ]

Donna: Cerebrovascular disease and TIA’s, huh? Mini strokes. If that’s what we’re dealing with, I think we need some answers fast.

Eric: Yeah.

Donna: You okay? Something, you, um, need to tell me or?

Eric: No. Everything’s just fine.

RJ: Hey.

Donna: Hi.

RJ: What’s going on? Is everyone okay?

[ Knocking on door ]

[ Finn sighing ]

Finn: Oh, hi.

Hope: Hey. Um, Steffy texted and said you needed this for a package for her and the kids in Europe?

Finn: Yeah, you guys had it, huh?

Hope: Yeah, Kelly’s sequin pillow.

Finn: Wow. I’m surprised she left without it. Um, thanks for bringing it by. I mean, you didn’t have to come all the way up here.

Hope: Oh, I’ve been up since four A.M. anyways. You know, just trouble sleeping these days. Life.

Finn: Yeah. Well, I can, um, I can relate. It sounds like your life has been a little bit complicated too lately.

Hope: Well, thank you for downplaying it.

Finn: Hm. You know, we don’t get the chance to talk much. Obviously, I’m aware of the whole interaction with Thomas in Rome and I’m not sure exactly where that stands now, but I just wanted to say, you– you’re better than Thomas.

Sheila: Are we really doing this?

Deacon: Oh, baby, we’re doing this.

Sheila: Engaged?

Deacon: I’m gonna get you a ring.

Sheila: I really don’t care about a ring.

Deacon: No, no, no. I’m getting you one. You deserve one. You deserve everything life has to offer, including a second chance.

Sheila: Well, maybe I should have you talk to my son for me.

Deacon: Yeah. Yeah, speaking of that, I’m gonna have to figure out a way to tell Hope about this.

Sheila: Yeah, I wonder how Finn’s gonna react.

Sheila: You know, we should probably keep our engagement on the down low until we figure out how to break the news.

Deacon: Our secret. Our little bubble here. No one messing with it. Sound good?

Sheila: Yeah. I– I still can’t believe, you know, the lengths that you went through. The judge, for me, insuring my freedom and then, on top of all of that, you– you popped the question.

Deacon: I can’t help myself. I’m crazy about you.

Sheila: There’s that word again.

[ Both chuckling ]

Sheila: I just hope you’re not crazy at the expense of your relationship with Hope.

Hope: Well, everyone seems to have an opinion about my personal life these days.

Finn: Sorry. You know, I probably shouldn’t have said anything. You know, especially since I’m speaking poorly about my brother-in-law.

Hope: Welp.

Finn: Well, it’s just we all know his history, you know? And the things that he’s done, especially to you.

Hope: Join the peanut gallery. I mean, you sound like my mom or RJ or my dad.

Finn: Well, maybe you should listen to them. I mean, look, I get it. You guys, you work together, you co-parent Douglas, but there’s just always been this Svengali quality to Thomas. Hope, I’ve always thought very highly of you and I just want what’s best for you.

RJ: Granddad, you sure you’re good?

Eric: Am I sure I’m good?

RJ: Yeah.

Eric: Yeah, I’m good with you at my side. I’m good, yeah.

RJ: So, you’re okay? You know, besides the tremors, you’re–

Eric: I’m okay, I’m okay. I’ve got you. Look at you. I can’t tell you how much that means to me. Look what you’re doing! Look what you’re doing. You’re a great designer, you are, and your loyalty, it means so much to me. I want you to keep this secret from everybody about the tremors, and most especially from Ridge.

Sheila: My fiancé, my fiancé, my fiancé. I like the way that sounds. God, I wish I could just stay like this forever because when the news gets out, it’s gonna send shockwaves through our families.

Deacon: Yeah. Hope and Brooke are definitely gonna be stunned, to say the least. Probably be disappointed, but you know, hey, I gotta believe that after a while, I’m gonna get through to them. Especially Hope.

Sheila: I sincerely wish that for you. And I sincerely wish that Finn could be free of Steffy so that I could have another chance.

Finn: Here you go.

Hope: Oh, wow, thank you. You really didn’t have to.

Finn: Oh, no. It’s the least I can do after you brought Kelly’s pillow all this way. You know, after she won that at the carnival, she wouldn’t let it out of her sight. Right?

Hope: Well, I’m glad they will be reunited soon.

Finn: So, how are you doing with everything? I mean, I know I’m going crazy here without Steffy and the kids and you know, we’re still together. I can only imagine for you. Sorry, I– I don’t mean to overstep. I just, I’m trying to make sure you’re doing all right.

Hope: No, I– I– I appreciate that. Um… okay, if I– I’m being honest, uh, yeah, no, it hasn’t been easy trying to adjust to the new normal and the new schedule for the kids, dealing with work while my marriage is– has fallen apart. Um… sometimes, it just… I get sad. All those years, just… with Liam and his divided heart.

Eric: More than anything, I want this collection to exude opulence. You know what I’m thinking? I’m thinking diamonds through the bodice.

Donna: Diamonds? Gorgeous.

RJ: And expensive.

Eric: Whose side are you on?

RJ: No, I’m just saying, that’s a lot for a design, that, you know, might not–

Eric: You don’t think we’re gonna win this thing?

RJ: No, no, yeah. I think we’re gonna win.

Eric: Okay, good. You know, one thing I’ve learned in all my years of design is that you can’t cut corners with design. You don’t sacrifice quality for speed or cost, and always use the company credit card.

RJ: Yeah. Well, yeah. It’s your company.

Eric: Yeah, you got that right. We should do diamonds on every one of these designs. I’d love to see the look on Carter and Ridge’s face when they see the invoice.

Donna: Oh, you are so bad.

Eric: You got that right. Now, we’re gonna win this thing. We can do it. And when we do win it, I’m gonna take back this company. I’m gonna take back my company and my office and I’m gonna put my final stamp on this– on this fashion house that I created. Forrester Creations.

Deacon: Sheila, did I hear you correctly? That now you want Finn and Steffy’s marriage to end?

Sheila: I’m not saying that, but I can’t forget that Steffy took the kids and went halfway around the world and abandoned my son.

Deacon: Babe, you know why she did that, right?

Sheila: I am not a threat to Steffy. I just want a place in my son’s life.

Deacon: Okay, good. Just checking. Come here. I believe in you.

Hope: A lot has changed for me since that kiss with Thomas in Rome. It was a catalyst for me to address some deep-seated issues with Liam, with myself. And while I never doubted Liam’s love for me, I also, unfortunately, never doubted his love for Steffy either. Which I am sorry, no– that’s– I shouldn’t. That’s inappropriate. I don’t want to undermine what you two–

Finn: No, you’re not. You’re not. I get it. Um, Steffy and the kids, they’ve been, um, they’ve been gone a while and it’s been extremely tough, you know, but I just want my wife and kids back.

Hope: Is there any progress on that front? I mean, I know Sheila is still a threat.

Finn: Yeah, but I– I talk to Steffy everyday. We text and call each other.

Hope: Well, Finn, you’ve always been devoted to Steffy and that commitment, that is a strength. Steffy is lucky to have you.

Finn: You wanna tell her that?

[ Hope chuckling ]

Finn: That’s– that’s really kind though, thanks. Look, and I feel for you, what you’re going through with Liam. And I don’t know exactly where you stand with Thomas, but just hearing what you’re saying and talking about this self-discovery, I just think that you’re drawn to Thomas because he’s totally focused on you and only you.

RJ: So, Granddad went to go get his medication?

Donna: Yep.

RJ: For his tremors.

Donna: Yeah.

RJ: Donna, hey. It’s just us two, okay? You can talk to me.

Donna: Sure. Yeah, of course.

RJ: He’s– he’s– I don’t know, like he’s off or– or something’s off and affecting him. Like, I– I just feel like I don’t know everything that’s– that’s going on with his health because, you know, he said that it was arthritis, he said that it was carpal tunnel and he has these tremors.

Donna: Mm-hmm.

RJ: And we both have seen it. It’s gotten consistently worse, all right?

Donna: Uh–

RJ: Listen. Please, Donna. Tell me what’s really going on with him.

Donna: Listen, you gotta– you have to promise not to say anything to anyone, okay?

RJ: Say– say what to anyone?

Donna: The doctor feels that, um, Eric might be suffering from cerebrovascular disease or TIA’s. Mini strokes.

RJ: He’s having strokes?

Donna: Yeah. And if he has, um, if anything happens like a blood clot or something, Eric could die. And that’s why, um, that’s why he feels like he’s running out of time and, um, why he has to finish this collection.

Donna: Cerebrovascular disease or TIA’s? So, it’s neurological?

[ Eric coughing ]

[ Eric coughing ]

[ Eric panting ]

Finn: I’m– I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to make you feel uncomfortable.

Hope: No, it’s– it’s okay. I mean, talking to someone other than my family is actually probably the healthy thing to do.

Finn: You know, I do know his history and his obsession. And look, Taylor and– and Ridge and Steffy, they all think that he’s changed.

Hope: I do, too.

Finn: I can only imagine, like, what the difference is for you. I mean, you go from Liam and his never ending divided feelings, to Thomas, someone who is intense and laser focused with his attention on you and only you. I mean, that must feel so good to have that. Look, and I’m sure Steffy feels something similar. You know, she has me, someone who is totally committed to her versus all those years that she was involved with Liam.

Hope: Well, like I said, she’s lucky to have you.

Finn: Yeah, I’m not sure she feels that way right now. But look, I’m not gonna let Steffy get sucked into that old rut. I’m determined to get Steffy back and reunite my family.

Hope: And I’m sure you will. That devotion is admirable.

Finn: I mean, even like, the way you talk about devotion, it’s… it’s almost like you’ve always been chasing it, you know, and now you have that. With Thomas. But, do you really want to be with him? Like, with all that history?

[ Hope chuckling ]

Hope: Well, uh, clearly, I believe in second chances, third chances, fourth chances, fifth chances, but I also believe that people can change. And being with Thomas, knowing that he is dedicated and loyal to me, I mean, that is a big change from the indecisiveness and the heartache that would sometimes come along with being with Liam. Uh… I guess I didn’t realize how much it was weighing me down. Sometimes, it isn’t until that weight is lifted that you suddenly realize, um… how ground down you were. The sadness and the heaviness of it all. Um, and growing up, you know, watching my mom in pain because of a man’s divided heart, I swore that I would never be like her, and yet, there I was, perpetuating that same cycle with a man with a divided heart. I mean, is it really so hard to ask to be loved by a man who just… loves me and only me?

Finn: Hey.

Hope: I’m sorry.

Finn: No, it’s okay.

Hope: No, it’s embarrassing.

Finn: It’s okay.

Hope: I’m sorry, Finn.

Days of Our Lives Update

Update written by Joseph

EJ asks Ava what the hell she is doing at the DiMera Mansion as he thought she was on the run. Ava responds that she’s back now and she brought him a little surprise, not that he deserves it after trying to kill her. EJ claims to have no idea what she’s talking about. Ava tells him to spare her the phony denials as she knows he sent that woman to murder her at Bayview and that’s why she is here, to end this now. EJ asks how she plans to do that. Ava tells him to see for himself as Harris then brings in Susan, leaving EJ in disbelief. Susan runs up and hugs EJ.

Chloe meets Philip in the park to inform him that she’s leaving in Salem. Philip asks if she means with Xander. Chloe says no as now that Xander knows he’s the father of Sarah’s baby, what they had is over. Philip says he’s sorry. Chloe says she is too but they obviously can’t live together anymore and she can’t stay at the Spectator, so without a job and no relationship, there is nothing keeping her here.

Sarah is at the Kiriakis Mansion, hoping she can rest after putting baby Victoria down for a nap. Kate then walks in and startles her. Sarah asks what’s wrong. Kate complains that Sarah has dragged Rex in to this psycho drama with Xander and put a target directly on Rex’s back.

Rex shows up at Xander’s door. Xander questions what he wants while Bronson loads his gun behind them. Rex states that Xander texted him to come over which Xander denies. Rex says he has no time for his games and tells him to stop lying. Xander insists that he’s not and he didn’t send him a text, so Rex questions who did. Rex then shows Xander the text but Xander says that’s not his number. Rex asks again who sent it. Xander says he has no clue, but since he is there, they should talk about his baby. Rex argues that his name is on the birth certificate. Xander argues that it doesn’t change things and that he can show a judge a DNA test. Rex says he can fight it all he wants but no court will ever grant him custody so he should get over it and move on but Xander refuses. Xander tells Rex to give up any claim he has to Victoria and then divorce Sarah.

Sarah apologizes to Kate and asks what she is talking about. Kate tells her not to play on her sympathy as a mother because she has put her child directly in the line of fire. Kate says Sarah might want a romantic relationship with Xander and that’s her decision, but he is a homicidal maniac, so she does not appreciate using Rex as a human shield. Kate asks if Sarah wants to see Rex dead.

EJ tells Susan that he didn’t think it was possible that she could be alive and says he has so many questions but doesn’t know where to begin. EJ asks if she’s alright. Susan says she is, especially now that she is with her son. EJ tells her that he’s missed her so much as they embrace. Harris whispers to Ava that while EJ is so distracted, it’s time to make the move to get the confession they promised Rafe while he’s still wearing a wire. Ava then tells Susan that she was really glad that she could reunite her with her son but asks if she could help her out by asking EJ to apologize for sending the woman to Bayview to murder her. Susan tells EJ to confess his sins and beg Ava for her forgiveness.

Philip asks where Chloe is going. Chloe says her parents and Parker are in New York so that makes sense. Chloe adds that she just needs time to process all of this and figure out what’s next. Philip thanks her for telling him when she didn’t have to. Chloe says she wanted to and that she wouldn’t take off without saying anything. Philip notes that in the past she might have and he wouldn’t have blamed her. Chloe says in the past, she would have worried that this would send him in to an obsessive tailspin but she knows he’s changed and she’s not worried about him anymore. Chloe says she’s glad that he’s alive and she’s so proud of him for doing the work to get better. Chloe adds that reconnecting with him has been pretty great. Chloe comments that a change of scenery will be good for her but admits that she will miss him. Philip says he’ll miss her too.

Sarah tells Kate that she doesn’t want Rex dead and asks what kind of question that is. Kate argues that Sarah didn’t want Xander near her baby because she was terrified of him and knew he was a dangerous man and that she’d never be safe which Sarah confirms. Kate questions if it’s alright that Rex isn’t safe and says she doesn’t get her plan for Rex to pretend to be the father of the baby and asks if she really thought she could pull that off. Sarah hoped the truth would never come out. Kate argues that she knew Xander would be out for blood when it did come out. Kate questions why Sarah would do this and risk Rex’s life, asking if that’s okay. Sarah tells Kate to ask Rex because she didn’t come up with the idea to lie about Victoria’s paternity, Rex did

Rex tells Xander that he and Sarah just got married. Xander argues that Sarah only did that to stick it to him. Xander says he would never harm Victoria but he will cause Rex a great deal of pain. Rex warns Xander to stay out of their lives. Xander asks what he’s going to do, kill him. Bronson then suddenly hits Rex from behind and knocks him out. Bronson pulls his gun on Xander and declares that Rex isn’t going to kill him, because that’s his job.

Susan tells EJ that confessions are good for the soul, so she wants him to admit to Ava what he did and she wants him to call off the assassin. Susan points out that she’s alive, so there’s no need for vengeance now. EJ thinks back to sending Bronson after Xander and comes to a realization. EJ says he has to go as he just remembered a critical business arrangement that’s a matter of life and death. EJ says he’ll be back soon and rushes out of the mansion. Susan questions what would make EJ run out so fast.

Xander questions what Bronson is doing. Bronson responds that he’s going to shoot him and then put the gun in Rex’s hand. Xander asks if he knows Rex. Bronson says he knows Rex will go down for murder. Bronson explains that he’s sure neighbors heard them arguing, so by the time the cops come, he’ll be gone and Rex will take the fall for murdering Xander.

Chloe asks what Philip’s plans are. Philip responds that he doesn’t have any and he’s just taking it one day at a time, but jokes that he’s sure Kate has his entire life planned out for him. Philip remarks that the Kiriakis family doesn’t stick to the script and they keep things interesting. Philip jokes that it’s like Body and Soul. Chloe questions him watching that. Philip says he had a lot of time on his hands. Philip talks about Vivian showing up and how they found the will and now the estate goes to Maggie and Alex. Chloe mentions hearing that Alex is Victor’s son and Philip’s brother and how that must be strange for him. Philip acknowledges that Alex was always family, so now he’s just closer family. Philip comments on he, Alex, and Bo being Victor’s three sons but says he’s not sure where he fits in but he’ll figure it out. Chloe is sure that Victor loved them all equally which Philip agrees with. Philip acknowledges that he and Victor didn’t have the smoothest relationship, but he loved him very much and wishes he had the chance to say goodbye. Philip then declares that thankfully he at least gets to say goodbye to Chloe as he hugs her. Philip tells Chloe not to be a stranger and says goodbye. Philip turns to walk away but Chloe stops him and asks if he would want to try to figure things out in New York.

Ava asks Harris what just happened and if EJ is onto them. Ava worries that they missed their one chance to get EJ on tape admitting what he did to her. Harris says they could wait until he comes back but Ava is certain they won’t get another chance. Ava guesses they have to go back to the station to tell Rafe the bad news. Susan comes back in and suggests they all sit down and wait for EJ to come back. Ava says she and Harris were going to head out. Ava tells Susan that before they go, she wants to tell her that when she had her in that car, she was in a very bad place where she was hurt, angry, and not thinking straight. Ava states that her issues were with EJ, not Susan, and she never should’ve dragged her in to it. Ava admits that she was wrong and is truly sorry. Susan talks about believing in forgiveness like in the Bible. Ava says she’s grateful for that and she’s glad that Susan is okay. Ava goes to leave but Susan stops her and asks what’s next for her. Ava responds that she doesn’t know and guesses she will be sent back to Bayview. Susan suggests that could be the one place in the world to keep her safe. Ava and Harris then exit together.

Xander tells Bronson that he doesn’t have to do this. Bronson says he’s getting paid to. Xander offers to pay him but Bronson declines. Xander talks about being in Bronson’s situation. Bronson clarifies that he doesn’t need the money but he loves his job. Xander realizes someone hired him and guesses he knows who did that. EJ then bursts in. Xander asks if EJ came to make sure the job is done right.

Kate is surprised to learn that pretending to be the father of Sarah’s baby was Rex’s idea. Sarah explains that Bonnie showed up unexpectedly in Chicago and saw that she was pregnant, so Rex jumped in and said the baby was his. Kate asks why she didn’t just say that Rex was lying. Sarah admits she could have. Kate accuses Sarah of taking advantage of Rex’s feelings for her. Sarah argues that Rex has always known their relationship was platonic while Kate argues that Sarah knew that Rex wanted a lot more. Kate notes that she and Roman just had breakfast with Rex and he laid out his whole plan of how they are going to stay married. Sarah confirms that Rex called her and told her that Roman was very understanding while Kate was less so which Kate admits. Kate says even though Rex knows the relationship isn’t real, he’s going to do everything he can to win her back while Sarah will let him believe there’s a chance she will fall back in love with him when they both know she won’t. Sarah argues that they can’t predict the future. Kate accuses Sarah of stringing Rex along all the way to the altar and still feeding him false hope. Kate talks about knowing something was wrong with their relationship all along and says now it all makes sense. Sarah apologizes and says she had to put her daughter first. Kate responds that she’s not sorry for putting her son first, so Sarah is mistaken if she thinks she’s going to stand by and let Rex take a bullet for her.

EJ instructs Bronson to put the gun down. Bronson argues that they had a deal. EJ agrees to do his part while releasing him from his. Bronson insists that he needs to finish a job when he starts and adds that Xander will be a witness. Xander assures he’ll forget his face. EJ reminds Bronson that he works for him and he’s telling him that the job is done. Bronson agrees as long as he still gets paid which EJ assures he will. Bronson then gathers his things and exits. Xander assumes EJ sent Bronson because of what he did to Susan and questions why he called him off. EJ reveals that the circumstances have changed as it turns out that Susan is still alive, which shocks Xander.

Susan Banks goes to Marlena’s office to surprise her. Marlena can’t believe that Susan is alive and she’s not dreaming. Susan and Marlena then embrace.

Xander questions that Susan somehow managed to get out of the car before it blew up and she’s been living it up in London. EJ confirms she survived the crash and has been living in London. Xander excitedly calls this a miracle and thanks EJ for telling him and for stopping his goon from doing him in. Xander then grabs his phone and says he’s calling the cops to tell Rafe that EJ just hired somebody to put a bullet in him.

Ava walks in to the interrogation room where Harris has his shirt lifted up. Harris then asks her to help him with removing the wire which she does. They get close as Harris thanks her. Harris is sorry they couldn’t get EJ to admit he ordered the hit. Ava hoped it would help her case and maybe get the police off her back. Harris says they may not have gotten the confession from EJ, but Susan being alive has to help.

Marlena questions Susan being in London all this time. Susan explains that she was chained up in her ex husband’s back bedroom until Ava and Harris showed up. Marlena guesses Susan must have done a wonderful job of helping them find her. Susan admits that Ava and Harris got taken prisoner too at first but what matters is that they are all safe now. Marlena calls it a miracle. Susan tells Marlena that she missed her so much. Marlena says she missed her too but she doesn’t understand who found Susan to take her to Edmund in London. Susan says she still hasn’t solved that one yet. Marlena decides it doesn’t matter since she’s here now with all the people who love her the most in the world as they hug.

Xander tells EJ that he’s on hold. EJ asks if he’s sure he wants to do this. Xander is sure Rafe would love any excuse to lock EJ up. EJ is sure Rafe would relish the opportunity to put Xander behind bars too, reminding him that he’s only not in prison because Rafe couldn’t find a witness to implicate him since Bonnie never saw Xander’s face but Susan did. EJ adds that he’s sure Susan would like to press charges against Xander but he could convince her to let it go unless he’s incarcerated after Xander calls the cops. EJ states that Susan will go in to detail on what Xander did to her, so he’ll end up in a jail cell right next to him. EJ questions if Xander really wants to get to know his daughter in the visiting room in prison if Sarah and Rex would even allow it or if he wants to be free so he can fight for his daughter. Xander reluctantly admits that EJ wins and hangs up the phone. Xander agrees to say that EJ and Bronson were never there while EJ agrees to make sure Susan finds it in her heart to forgive and forget. EJ then exits the apartment. Xander then tells Rex to wake up.

Sarah tells Kate that Rex is a grown man, so she needs to let him make his own choices. Kate argues that it’s not about his own choices but her protecting him from a calculating predatory woman. Kate accuses Sarah of using Rex to keep Xander away. Kate adds that she’s also worried about Sarah hurting Rex and warns that if she does, she will naswer to her. Kate then exits the mansion.

Rex wakes up and questions what the hell happened. Rex accuses Xander of using the baby to get him over, only to have some thug knock him out. Xander claims not to know what he’s talking about and that Rex just fainted. Rex insists that he knows Xander did this because he hurts people, knocks people out, kidnaps them and kills them. Rex declares that biology or not, he will never be Victoria’s father. Rex tells Xander to stay the hell away from his family as he rushes out of the apartment.

Philip questions Chloe wanting him to move to New York with him. Chloe clarifies that she knows they both acknowledged that they have feelings for each other, but she just broke off her engagement and isn’t ready to jump in to anything new so she can’t promise him anything, but she’d still be really happy if they took this journey together. Chloe thinks the change would be good for him too. Philip says he gets it and promises to respect her boundaries. Philip states that nothing happens unless she’s comfortable with it. Chloe says that’s why she asked him to come. Philip asks if she’s sure she’s okay with him tagging along which she assures. Philip then agrees to accompany her to New York. Chloe decides this isn’t goodbye for them then, but there are a few people that she needs to tell that she is leaving. Philip says he does too so Chloe wishes him luck with that. Chloe calls Nicole and says she has news but she doesn’t want to share it over the phone, so she asks to meet for lunch anywhere except the Pub.

Philip meets Kate at the Brady Pub. Kate tells him that she’s so happy to have quality time with one of her sons. Philip says he knows how much she values their time together and he does too, but they aren’t going to be having quite as much of it as she would like.

Harris thinks the worst they can do is send Ava back to Bayview and if she goes back, he’s going with her. Ava doesn’t think that’s going to happen. Harris says it will if Marlena says so, reminding her that he asked to be committed. Ava thinks Harris is beyond needing to be locked up and that Marlena would say he doesn’t need it. Harris talks about all they have been through together and says there are a lot of dangerous people in the world. Harris asks who is going to watch his back if she’s in Bayview while he’s not. Ava compliments his back and says she’s crazy but not blind.

EJ goes home looking for Susan. Susan then joins him in the living room and says she just went to see Marlena so she would know she’s alive. Susan asks where EJ ran off. EJ repeats that he had business to take care of. Susan questions it being more important than being with her. EJ assures nothing is more important than that but now all his business is taken care of so she has his undivided attention. Susan then asks if EJ behaved himself while she was gone. EJ would love to say that he was but asks where the fun is in that as he hugs her.

Xander complains about Rex ordering him to stay away and calls his attorney to say there’s been a development in his case as he just found out Susan Banks is alive and well which changes everything as he’s suddenly a more suitable parent, so he wants to sue for full custody of his daughter.

Rex goes to the Kiriakis Mansion and tells Sarah that she won’t believe what just happened to him. Sarah says she wants to hear it but there’s something she has to tell him first. Rex questions what it is and says she can tell him anything. Rex tells her to just say whatever it is. Sarah holds back tears as she tells Rex that she wants a divorce.

Update written by Joseph

Rex and Philip sit together at the Brady Pub. Philip talks about being relieved that they found Victor’s will and Maggie gets to move back in to the Kiriakis Mansion. Philip calls Vivian a very bad person who he’s thrilled to be rid of. Rex relates to wishing he and Sarah could be rid of Xander. Rex adds that Xander has made it very clear that he has no intention of staying away from Sarah or the baby.

Chloe sits at home on the phone with her mom. Chloe talks about everything being new but she hasn’t had a chance to talk to Xander since he didn’t come home last night. Chloe then hangs up when Xander comes home. Chloe asks if he’s okay and asks where he was. Xander apologizes for worrying her and says he slept in his office as the day was just so crazy that he needed time to process it but he knows he should’ve called her. Chloe says she understands. Xander doesn’t know what to say. Chloe responds that while he was gone, she did some thinking too about her moving out.

At the DiMera Mansion, EJ meets with Bronson, the man he had as his hospital contact, keeping an eye on Joyce. EJ explains that he is now representing Joyce and has advised her to remain silent. EJ then tells Bronson that he has a new job for him as he wants him to take over Joyce’s. EJ declares that he wants him to find and kill Ava Vitali.

In London, Ava tells Susan that she has to get them out of here since she lured her and Harris to London with her mental telegrams. Ava suggests Susan try sending a psychic message to someone who can help them out. Susan doesn’t know if she can do that. Ava warns him to figure it out soon or else Edmund is going to end up shooting someone.

Rafe informs Edmund that Ava and Harris were under the impression that Susan was still alive. Edmund calls that impossible since she was blown up in a car crash. Rafe says they believe they came to Edmund’s apartment. Edmund claims he hasn’t seen them. Tripp reveals that they looked up his address before going missing. Edmund says he’ll let them know if they show up. Rafe asks if he minds if they take a look around. Edmund then pulls his gun out and declares that he does mind. Rafe questions what’s going on and what the problem is. Edmund reveals that if he allows them to look around, they will certainly find his guests and he just can’t have that.

EJ tells Bronson that Ava is missing. He brings up Rafe wanting to put EJ away for years and questions giving him a reason to turn up the heat. EJ responds that he’s not worried about Rafe and feels he’s waited too long to get vengeance for his mother. EJ adds that Ava is trying to convince people that Susan is still alive. EJ says that couldn’t be so either Ava is delusional or she’s trying to trick him in to backing off. EJ declares that either way, he wants her dead.

Susan tells Ava that her gifts don’t work like that. Ava encourages her to try. Harris says there has to be someone she can reach. Ava tells Susan to focus and reach out to someone who can come save them. Susan doesn’t think it’s going to work but then she has a vision of Edmund pulling a gun on Rafe and Tripp. Ava asks if she saw something. Susan explains that she saw an image of Edmund pointing a gun at Ava’s son.

Tripp asks Edmund who his guests are. Edmund admits they are the two people they came looking for. Tripp questions what he did with his mother. Edmund questions Tripp being Ava’s son and brings up what Ava did to Susan. Edmund argues that Ava did her best to put out Susan’s light. Edmund remarks that Ava hurt him deeply, so now he’s going to hurt her deeply by killing her son. Rafe tells Edmund that no one needs to get hurt here. Rafe says they all see he’s suffering. Edmund argues that he has no idea and calls Susan his one true love. Edmund talks about wanting to keep her safe from the cruel world. Rafe calls her death a horrible tragedy. Edmund talks about it haunting him. Edmund says they were apart for years but he always hoped they would reunite. Edmund argues that Susan mistook his devotion for obsession because he said he would do anything to take care of her, even kill. Rafe argues that Susan’s gone so he doesn’t have to do that now. Rafe asks for the gun. Edmund warns Rafe to stand aside or else he’ll shoot him first and Tripp second.

Ava asks Susan if she’s saying Tripp is there. Susan responds that it sounds like he’s right out there in the living room and Edmund has a gun on him. Ava tries screaming for Tripp that they are back there. Susan tells her that won’t work since the whole place is soundproof. Susan starts to ramble until Ava yells at her to just stop talking. Ava then pleads with Harris to get out there and save Tripp.

EJ asks Bronson if he wants the assignment or not. Bronson responds that if he wants Ava dead, he will make her dead but he doesn’t know where she could be now. EJ says that he’s working on locating her, but until that happens there’s another sitting duck waiting for him in Salem and that’s Ava’s accomplice, Xander Cook.

Rex and Philip talk about Sarah wanting to keep her baby away from Xander. Rex brings up what Xander did to Susan and questions why he’s not in prison. Philip asks if Sarah doesn’t still have feelings for Xander. Rex says there’s only disgust, noting that Xander lied to Sarah over and over. Philip brings up that Rex and Sarah have had their issues too. Rex admits that he still has a lot of work to do to regain Sarah’s trust. Rex adds that unless Xander found a way to resurrect Susan Banks, there’s no way that Sarah is letting him back in to her life or her daughter’s.

Xander tells Chloe that he knows he just found out that he’s the father of Victoria. Chloe assumes that Xander wants to work things out with Sarah as she knows he loved her for a long time and maybe he still does. Xander insists that he doesn’t love Sarah anymore after she tried to keep his child from him and put another man’s name on his child’s birth certificate. Chloe agrees that he has every right to feel hurt and betrayed which is why she knew she had to tell him the truth that she overheard from Rex and Philip. Xander states that moment proved he could trust Chloe and he knows their relationship is strong and honest which he is so grateful for. Xander declares that he’s going to fight Sarah for the baby and he needs Chloe by his side when he does that.

EJ informs Bronson that Xander Cook kidnapped and terrorized Susan so he’s the reason that she ended up in the car with Ava. Bronson agrees that Xander deserves what’s coming to him but asks again if it’s safe considering EJ is already under suspicion for what happened with Ava, so if Xander takes a bullet then a lot of blowback will come EJ’s way. EJ reveals that he’s prepared for it and that’s why he’s going to frame Rex Brady for Xander’s murder.

Rex admits to Philip that Chloe overhearing them talking about Sarah really complicated things. Philip hopes he doesn’t blame Chloe for telling Xander. Rex understands she just did what she thought was right and that secrets have a way of coming out. Rex adds that Chloe also heard Philip say that he’s still in love with her and asks how she took that. Philip admits it was better than he could’ve imagined after everything he did to Brady as he never thought Chloe could forgive him or consider a relationship with him again. Philip adds that Chloe admitted that her feelings for him came back when he returned to Salem.

Chloe questions Xander wanting to win custody of the baby. Xander knows it’s a longshot with his history but he’s her father and deserves to be his daughter’s life. Chloe asks if he’s hired an attorney. Xander says he’s had preliminary discussions and was advised not to leave town so he apologizes as he knows they planned to go to New York to get married. Xander tells Chloe that he still wants to marry her and he doesn’t want to be with Sarah, especially after what she did. Xander repeats that he loves Chloe and wants to be with her. Chloe responds that she’s sorry but she doesn’t think she feels the same way anymore and she doesn’t want to be with him.

Ava tells Harris that she needs to get Tripp. Harris assures that he won’t let Edmund hurt Tripp. Ava points out that Harris can’t break the chains. Susan offers to help by praying for strength and says prayer is always the answer. Susan stands with Ava and says they are going to pray to the lord. Harris says he’ll take all the help he can get and then he successfully breaks the chain. Ava is shocked while Susan thanks God.

Tripp tells Rafe to move as there’s no point in both of them getting shot. Edmund says he makes sense and adds that this isn’t Rafe’s fight. Edmund tells Tripp to save a place for Ava in Hell and assures he won’t have to wait long. Harris then bursts in and fights with Edmund over the gun.

Ava shouts for Harris and worries about what is going on or if Harris doesn’t make it in time. Susan encourages Ava to have faith, pointing out that the Lord helped break the chains so now they have to hope he will stop Edmund from pulling the trigger. They then hear the gunshot and Ava screams.

The gun fired in to the ground as Harris wrestles the gun away from Edmund. Harris assures that he’s okay as Edmund complains that this is not right. Harris orders Edmund to sit down and not move. Rafe asks for the gun which Harris hands over. Tripp asks where Ava is. Harris tells him that she’s fine and to follow him. Rafe stops Harris but Harris assures Rafe that he doesn’t have to worry as they are done running which Rafe accepts. Harris then takes Tripp to see Ava. Rafe then informs Edmund that he is under arrest as he makes a call.

Ava worries that she doesn’t hear anything after one gun shot. Harris then returns with Tripp. Tripp embraces Ava and is shocked to see Susan is alive, realizing Ava was right. Harris says he will get them unchained. Susan thanks Harris. Harris responds that if she wants to thank him, she can tell EJ to leave Ava alone. Susan agrees to do that and tells him not to worry because EJ will listen to his mom. Harris hopes she’s right about that.

EJ explains to Bronson that Rex Brady has been presenting himself as the father of Sarah Horton’s new child but it’s come to light that Xander Cook is the true father. Bronson notes that could cause bad blood and guesses EJ doesn’t like Rex either. EJ responds that he has no feelings about Rex but they need a fall guy, so Rex is going to have to be collateral damage.

Rex knows it hasn’t always been smooth sailing for Philip and Chloe, but he’s always believed they belong together. Philip responds that he won’t argue that, but he lost his way last time with her as his obsession took over and he did some terrible things. Philip admits he wasn’t well and he hurt a lot of people including Chloe, so he doesn’t want to be that guy again. Rex is happy to hear that and asks what this means for he and Chloe. Philip responds that he is sitting back and letting things happen the way they are supposed to. Philip states that Chloe knows how he feels so it’s up to her to decide who she wants to be with. Rex jokes that it’s crazy that the women they love can either choose to be with them or that thug Xander. Philip declares that he likes their chances.

Xander asks Chloe if she thought he was with Sarah when he didn’t come home last night or that he’d just give up on everything they have. Xander doesn’t blame her for having doubts. Chloe says that didn’t help but this isn’t just about he and Sarah. Chloe informs Xander that when he went to confront Sarah, Philip came over and said he still loves her and never stopped. Xander argues that’s Philip’s problem not Chloe’s. Chloe admits that she has unresolved feelings for Philip and guesses that she always has. Chloe thought Philip was dead so it didn’t matter but then when she saw him, all these feelings came rushing back. Xander asks if that means Chloe wants to be with Philip. Chloe says she doesn’t know since things ended really ugly for them and she’d never want that back but she guesses she needs some time to figure things out. Xander says he understands. Chloe tells Xander that she loves him and she has loved being with him, but thinks maybe somehow they ended up here because Sarah broke his heart and she never thought she’d see Philip again. Chloe admits that she’s not over Philip and she thinks Xander will realize he’s not over Sarah. Xander asks what now. Chloe guesses she will spend one last night here in her old room and then tomorrow, she will pack her things and go. Chloe kisses Xander goodbye and exits as Xander holds back tears.

Harris, Ava, and Tripp bring Susan out to Rafe, who is shocked to see that she really is alive. Susan can’t believe half of Salem came to rescue her. Rafe can’t believe that Edmund held her captive this whole time and asks how she even got here. Harris and Ava explain that Edmund said he got a phone call from someone who said they knew Susan survived the crash and then two men showed up with an injured Susan. Rafe asks Edmund who it was but Edmund reiterates that he has no idea who the man was. Rafe asks if Susan doesn’t remember. Susan confirms she’s coming up blank but says it really does scare her to think that whoever grabbed her is still out there…

The Next Day…

EJ puts a photo of Susan on the mantle at home and calls Bronson, who informs him that he’s about to text Rex and send him over to Xander’s apartment, where he will be waiting. EJ instructs Bronson to call him when everything is done and hangs up.

Rex sits with Kate at the Pub, complaining that she’s not hearing him. Kate assures that she is hearing that he is planning on remaining married to a woman who is using him and letting him raise another man’s child. Rex argues that Sarah is not using him and that they care about each other a lot. Rex adds that he already loves Sarah’s daughter like his own. Rex questions why Kate can’t be okay with this like Roman is. Kate argues that unlike them, she is thinking straight and she knows there is no way that Xander is going to back off and let Rex pretend to be the father. Rex responds that he’s not afraid of Xander while Kate warns that he should be. Rex then gets a text message from Bronson pretending to be Xander, saying he needs to see him at his apartment about the baby. Kate asks if Xander wants to squash him like a bug. Rex informs Kate that Xander wants to see him. Kate urges him not to go but Rex feels it’s the perfect opportunity to set things straight. Kate pleads with him but Rex exits the Pub.

Chloe packs her bags at the apartment. Xander guesses this is it. Chloe tells him that they’ll figure out another time for her to get the rest of her stuff. Xander tells her that she will always have a place there. Xander adds that he thought she should have their dart board. Chloe asks if he’s sure he doesn’t want to keep it. Xander jokes about who’s picture he would put on it between Rex, Sarah, and Philip but never Chloe’s. Xander hugs Chloe as she cries. Chloe kisses Xander goodbye and they tell each other to take care as Chloe then exits.

EJ pours a drink in the living room and tells the portrait of Stefano that it’s all in motion as justice will be served to Xander and then Ava is next. Ava then walks in to the room, shocking EJ.

Rafe and Tripp return to the police station in Salem. Tripp thanks Rafe for letting Ava do this her way. Rafe assures that he’s not doing it out of the goodness of his heart. Rafe adds that Ava and Harris should be in a jail cell or at least back in Bayview. Tripp points out that Rafe knows as well as he does that it was EJ who sent the woman to kill Ava. Rafe declares that is why he’s going to do everything in his power to nail his ass.

EJ asks Ava what the hell she is doing here as he thought she was on the run.

Chloe meets Philip in the park. Chloe thanks him for coming as there was something she needed to tell him. Chloe then announces that she is leaving Salem.

Bronson shows up at Xander’s apartment and claims he’s from the gas company there to inspect a leak. Xander says it’s not a good time but Bronson warns that gas leaks can be deadly and promises it won’t take long. Bronson then enters the apartment. Rex then shows up at the door. Xander questions what he wants while Bronson loads his gun behind them.

Transcript provided by Suzanne

Nick: Thank you.

Sharon: Thank you.

Nick: So, I heard you knocked it out of the park with the west coast kirsten divisions.

Sharon: Well, you were such a superstar with the east coast divisions, I could hardly let you show me up.

Nick: Well, what can I say? It’s probably just the dimples. Can I grab a muffin?

Sharon: Sure. So, you wanna tell me what’s going on?

Nick: Um, well, let’s see. Our attorneys have scheduled a conference call for next week.

Sharon: No, I mean, with you, nick. What’s going on with you?

Nick: It’s nothing. I’m good. All right, I’m not that good, but I will be. Don’t– don’t worry about it.

Sharon: See, when you tell me not to worry about something, that makes me worry even more and you know that. Especially when I can tell that you want to punch a hole through a wall right now. So, can you just maybe narrow down what it is I’m not supposed to worry about? And then I won’t start making things up.

Nick: Look, I came here so we could compare updates on our kirsten trips, okay? Let’s not get bogged down with any personal stuff. We are business partners.

Sharon: We were also married, nick, and we raised children. And we still managed to remain friends, good friends. And we’re going to remain friends for the rest of our lives, whether this business together works out in the end or not. So, that’s not an either or thing. Tell me what’s going on. What happened?

Adam: Sally. Sally! Will you please wait? I need to know what happened in the park.

Sally: I don’t care what you need and I don’t want to talk about it so just leave it alone.

Adam: Okay, I’m sorry, but I can’t do that.

Sally: Well, try.

Adam: My brother almost ripped my head off in the park. I would like to know what brought that on.

Sally: Isn’t that a normal state for the two of you?

Adam: Okay. This was different.

Sally: Okay, just give him some space, okay? Leave him alone. He’ll cool off.

Adam: Sally, cool off from what? Please, would you just tell me? It’s important for me to know where my brother and I stand, okay? Look, did you tell him that I kissed you? Is that what set him off?

Abby: Oh, look at you. Looking good. I love you in a suit. I mean, I like you better without the suit on, but you look good both ways.

Devon: Ooh, thank you.

Abby: Wait, you have a late meeting or something?

Devon: Uh, actually we have a late meeting, if you care to join me?

Abby: We do? What are we doing?

Devon: Uh, mamie invited us and the rest of the family to get drinks at the jazz lounge.

Abby: Okay. What’s the occasion?

Devon: Uh, hopefully, she’s gonna tell us she’s the mystery investor in chancellor-winters. Maybe explain why she’s kept it a secret this whole time.

Abby: Well, in that case, let me go change. Got the perfect outfit.

Devon: Yeah?

Abby: Mm-hmm.

Lily: Hi.

Daniel: Hi. I came as soon as I could. What’s up?

Lily: Well, I have a favor to ask you and I could have texted you, but I thought I could be more persuasive in person.

Daniel: You were right. What do you want?

Lily: Um, well, aunt mamie invited us to the club and I want you to be my date.

Daniel: Really?

Lily: Why are you saying it like it’s a bad idea?

Daniel: Well, I’m assuming that she’s gonna announce her new involvement in chancellor-winters, right?

Lily: Yeah, I would assume so.

Daniel: And you want me tagging along for that?

Lily: You’re not tagging along, you’re a part of chancellor-winters. You should be there. And besides, with the guest list, it’s kind of like a family thing and I want to show aunt mamie how happy you make me.

Daniel: Yeah. Yeah. I mean, as fun as that sounds, I’ve got that meeting with my creative team that I’ve already canceled three times.

Lily: Oh, yes. That’s right.

Daniel: Yeah.

Lily: Okay.

Daniel: No. Look, I’ll tell you what, you go tonight, without me. You have an amazing time. And sometime in the near future, let’s get together with your aunt and show her just how happy you really are.

Lily: Okay.

Daniel: Okay.

[ Knocking on door ]

Nate: All right. Pencil down. It’s quitting time.

Victoria: Says who?

Nate: Says me. You and I are off to the neil winter’s lounge for cocktails.

Victoria: We are?

Nate: Yes. Aunt mamie organized a family get together and I would love for you to accompany me.

Victoria: Oh, wait a minute. Did you say family get-together? Does that include devon and lily?

Nate: Apparently.

Victoria: Are you trying to go to war with them again?

Jack: Mamie, do you know how happy it makes me to see you like this?

Mamie: Like what? Energized? Strong? A woman on top of the world?

Jack: Yeah, that about covers it. You forgot to mention beautiful as ever.

Mamie: Oh, no, I didn’T. I just paused so you could say it.

[ Both laughing ]

Jack: I don’t suppose you’re gonna fill me in on what you’re up to this evening, are you?

Mamie: Jackie, I am the luckiest woman in the world. I have two families and one of them is the abbotts. And I will cherish that bond forever. And now, I have to work on building a relationship with nate and lily and devon. And that’s why I put together this special evening. And why I have to take certain steps to truly reconnect–

Jack: See, there you go again. Certain steps. You are gonna drive me crazy with this mystery, mamie. Come on. Hey… it’s me! Your dry skin!

Announcer: Additional sponsorship provided by… eggland’s best.

Victoria: Come on, nate. You can’t possibly think it’s a good idea for me to– to come with you to a family gathering.

Nate: I happen to think it’s an excellent idea.

Victoria: Well, your cousins are not exactly my biggest fans. I mean, devon and lily still blame me for what you tried to do to them at chancellor-winters. So, how’s it gonna look if you and I walk in together? Like we’re, I don’t know– like we’re trying to rub something in their faces.

Nate: Lily and devon have too much respect for aunt mamie to cause a scene.

Victoria: Well, then maybe they’ll just walk out. And then your poor aunt’s family gathering will be over before it’s started.

Nate: I promise you that is not going to happen. Everyone who’s invited will come and they will stay, which gives me another chance to try to mend the fences with my cousins.

Victoria: I know you want that. I want that for you too. I really do.

Nate: Okay, so come with me.

Victoria: Are you sure?

Nate: Victoria, you and I are in a relationship and I am not about to apologize to anyone for what you and I have. Besides, I’ve become pretty involved with your family.

Victoria: Well, you can certainly say that’s true.

Nate: Well, I think it’s high time you become part of mine.

Mamie: Okay. I’ll tell you, but only because I remember how you used to pout whenever you thought people were keeping secrets from you.

Jack: Wait. I didn’t pout.

Mamie: Yeah, you keep on telling yourself that. I bought out a private investor and I now have a major stake in chancellor-winters.

Jack: Mamie, that is giant news.

Mamie: It sure is. And if everything works out, this is just the beginning.

Jack: Wow. You have really made the most of your investments over the years, haven’t you?

Mamie: Well, being around john abbott for decades certainly didn’t hurt. No. Your father was a brilliant businessman.

Jack: Well, you’ll get no argument there. There’s a reason he’s a legend in the corporate world.

Mamie: You see, jackie, I always had a plan to take care of all of you until you could stand on your own two feet. And then…

Jack: And then you would start your new life as…

Both: An entrepreneur.

Mamie: That’s right.

Jack: And it’s all led you full circle back to genoa city.

Mamie: When the idea of being in business with my niece and nephew hit me, I was willing to move heaven and earth. Even victor newman, just to make it happen.

Jack: Wait, what does victor– he’s the private investor? Mamie, I am so happy for all of you. For, well, all of you except–

Mamie: I know exactly what you’re going to say, jack.

Jack: This is great news for you, for devon, for lily, for chancellor-winters. I just hope you’re prepared for the unavoidable roadblock that you’re about to run up against.

Mamie: Yeah, well. I know it’s not gonna be easy, but I will do whatever it takes to make this happen. Come on, let’s face it. Who can prepare for jill?

Nick: Okay, friend. If you must know, while I was out of town, adam and sally happened to run into each other at the athletic club and they decided to have dinner together.

Sharon: Dinner. Okay, well, that’s not that big of a deal, nick. The two of them went through a terrible loss together, so for them to be able to find some level of peace…

Nick: Oh, there’s more to it than that. After dinner, adam decided to walk sally to her room.

Sharon: Okay?

Nick: Then, he kissed her.

Sharon: Oh, adam.

Nick: I mean, it’s typical adam, you know? He refuses to accept that he’s lost anything, especially to me, and he wants to just get it back, no matter what it is, however he can, whether he deserves it or not and I’m sick of it.

Sharon: Well, I can’t say that I blame you. But what are you gonna do about it? And don’t tell me that you’re gonna confront adam.

Nick: No, not right now. ‘Cause I’m sure I’ll do something I’ll regret. Like rip off one of his arms. I’m sure if you do something like that though, you get some prison time. So– so I wanted to come here. Just focus on my work and not think about him or what he did because when I do, all I can think about is how bad I want that son of a bitch gone for good and out of everyone’s life.

Sally: What difference does it make if I told nick about the kiss? You said that you were sorry, end of story. That’s the truth, right? I mean, unless you want to stir up some more trouble. Is chaos the only thing that makes your life worth living?

Adam: No, sally. That is not what I want.

Sally: Okay, then stop asking questions and just leave it alone.

Adam: Okay. I– I would love to do that, but if you told him, I need to know, not to cause more chaos. I have to know where nick and I stand because I’m trying to rectify my relationship with him and the rest of my family.

Sally: Okay, come on, adam. You and I both know that is a complete lie. I have moderate to severe crohn’s disease.

Adam: What do you mean that it’s a lie?

Sally: Because you’re you, adam. In spite of everything that you have said, everything that you’ve done over the last several months proves that you can never change. You can’t let me go. You can’t let go of newman media. You can’t let go of the anger at your father and the rest of your family for not treating you like you deserve the world. You say that you want to fix things, but they’re just words that you repeat, over and over again. Your actions are what matters and you refuse to stop blowing things up.

Sharon: Well, obviously you did the right thing by coming here instead of confronting adam, especially when you’re this angry and I’m not condoning what he did. We’ve all had to learn the hard way that love is love and we can’t just turn it off, no matter how much we would like to sometimes.

Nick: Adam does not love sally, all right? She’s just a trophy to him. Same as everything else in his life. He doesn’t love. He covets. His entire life is– is based on greed and jealousy and self-pity.

Sharon: There is nothing healthy about adam’s behavior. I agree with that. But when you say that he can’t love, I don’t know. I mean, he’s taken this long struggling to get over sally. Look, the only way that that kiss matters is if it somehow emotionally affected her. Did it?

Jack: How does anyone prepare for jill? That’s a good question. She doesn’t like to be tricked and god knows the animosity between the two of you goes back decades.

Mamie: Just wait until she finds out just how successful I’ve been since she paid me off to leave genoa city. Oh, this is gonna take her over the top.

Jack: Oh, not half as much as finding out you are the new mystery investor.

Mamie: But all I’m doing is replacing an investor. Jill shouldn’t be upset about any of that. I mean, money is green, honey. My money’s as good as victor newman’S.

Jack: That’s all perfectly logical. Logic doesn’t always apply with jill. Go ahead and give it a try. Listen, when you said you invested in chancellor-winters, it was only the beginning. Any chance you’d tell me what else you got up your sleeve? Come on, it’s me. It’s jackie. You can tell me.

Mamie: Oh, look, my guests are arriving. Sorry, jackie.

[ Jack sighing ] Having triplets is…

Lily: Well, it was good to see you, jack.

Jack: Good to see you. I have to be heading home. I’m sorry to do that.

Mamie: No, we’ll miss you.

Jack: Well, I will miss you too. All of you, but, uh, diane and I have to finish planning our wedding celebration tomorrow.

Mamie: Oh, jackie. I’m just so glad to see that you finally found real love and happiness. Although I have to admit, I was a bit worried when I discovered that diane was back and living in your house no less. But I have to admit, she– she really has turned her life around.

Jack: She has done that and so much more, mamie, I promise.

Mamie: I believe you. And I’m looking at that twinkle of joy in your eye. I’m really looking forward to celebrating it.

Jack: Have fun tonight, mamie. Lots of fun. Good evening.

Victoria: Jack.

Nate: Aunt mamie.

Mamie: Hello, victoria. Wow, you’re as lovely as I thought you might be when I was watching you grow up.

Victoria: Oh, thank you. That’s very sweet of you to say that.

Mamie: Oh, you know what? You have to come and see this snapshot of nate that I found when he was a baby. Come on over.

Nate: Oh, no.

Victoria: Oh, I would love to see that.

Mamie: I’ve got it on my phone.

Victoria: Oh my goodness. He’s so chubby.

Lily: Honestly, I’m surprised that you’re even enamored with victoria. Or is it just that she’s useful to you?

Nate: You’re never gonna give me a chance, are you?

Lily: Honestly, nate, this is me trying.

Nate: Then, let’s clear the air once and for all. My feelings for victoria are very real. You don’t have to like her, but you do have to respect my decision. Otherwise, there’s no point in us talking about being a family.

Lily: How do you not realize that you dating victoria throws everything that you two did to devon and me in our faces? Do you really think that we’re just gonna forget that?

Nate: Lily, did you forget that devon tried to take you to court? Or did you forget that devon and abby cheated on amanda and chance? Got caught red-handed, humiliated them, but they’re treated like the happy new couple in town. Everyone’s moved on. I am just as happy with victoria, but all you and everyone else can see is the past. I admitted I crossed a line. And I am sorry I hurt elena, but the truth is I’ve never been more comfortable in my own skin than I am now. With victoria.

Lily: Yeah, nate, that’s what’s scary. It’s terrifying because elena was your conscience and victoria can’t give you that. I mean, she’s pushing you to be bigger and better and collateral damage be damned.

Nate: For the record, I made the effort tonight.

Lily: Yeah, okay.

Nate: But this is over. Enjoy the wine.

Sharon: You’ve gone quiet.

Nick: Yeah. I hate to admit it, but I think the kiss affected sally more than she’s willing to admit. Even more than she’s aware of.

Sharon: And what makes you suspect that?

Nick: I don’t know, but I don’t want to talk about it. I came here to cool down and get some work done.

Sharon: Okay. How do you think we’re doing with that?

Nick: Not great. I’m pretty useless right now. But you did help.

Sharon: I did? How?

Nick: By being the rational person in the room, talking me down. Thank you. I appreciate it.

Sharon: I’m always happy to help a friend keep from dismembering his brother.

Nick: It’s one of the qualities that first attracted me to you.

Adam: I know what nick thinks of me, but I thought you and I, we were in a better place.

Sally: Better than what? Yeah, my heart was broken when we lost our little girl and I was filled with grief and rage, directed at you and the universe. We are in a better place from that, yeah. As friends. As two people working through a shared trauma, but then you had to go and ruin it by kissing me.

Adam: And I apologized for that. I told you that it was a mistake.

Sally: Yeah. But you also said that it was a mistake that you didn’t regret.

Adam: And you know what? I still don’T. Okay? It was a moment. It was an impulsive moment just between us.

Sally: No, it was a lot more than that, adam. Look, I’m just getting my whole life, my whole world balanced and back in order and now thanks to you and this impulsive moment, it’s all teetering again.

Adam: I mean, you’re– you’re not even talking about nick’s reaction to that kiss, are you? You’re– you’re talking about yours. When it comes to your hair, ingredients matter. at humana, we believe your healthcare should evolve with you, and part of that evolution means choosing the right medicare plan for you. Humana can help. Hi, my name is sam davis and I’m going to tell you about medicare advantage prescription drug plans that can provide more coverage than original medicare, including prescription drug coverage, all wrapped up into one convenient plan. With original medicare you’re covered for hospital stays and doctor office visits, but you have to meet a deductible for each. And then you’re still responsible for 20% of the cost. Next, let’s look at medicare supplement plans. If a service is covered under original medicare, then a medicare supplement plan pays for some or all of your medicare deductibles and the 20% coinsurance. But they may have higher monthly premiums and no prescription drug coverage. Humana medicare advantage prescription drug plans include medical coverage, plus prescription drug coverage. As well as dental coverage that includes two free cleanings a year, plus a yearly exam. Vision coverage includes vision exams and a yearly allowance toward eyewear such as lenses or contacts. And hearing benefits include routine hearing exams and coverage toward hearing aids. You’re covered for preventive services like annual mammograms and prostate exams. There’s a zero-dollar copay for routine vaccines and telehealth visits. And you get worldwide coverage for emergencies when you travel. You get all of this in one convenient plan. Plus, there’s a cap on your out-of-pocket costs! So, call or go online today to see if there’s a humana plan in your area, to find out if your doctor is in one of our networks, and to get our free decision guide. There’s no obligation, just good information. Humana – a more human way to healthcare.

Announcer: The young and the restless will continue.

Sally: You say that you want to rebuild relationships, but you don’T. You just want to make them what you want. And if the truth doesn’t work for you, then you rearrange it. You twist it into knots and you will only ever think what you want, but listen to me, there is no us, okay? And– and– and just let me give you a serious piece of advice. Stay away from nick for the time being. And me, okay? Because yes, I did tell nick about the kiss and yes, it upset him.

Adam: Okay. That’s all I needed to know. But take my word for it, um, I know my brother very well and I promise you, me kissing you did not upset him. It’s more than that.

Sally: Okay. Why does it have to be more than that? You crossed a line with your brother and your so-called friend.

Adam: Sally, he would only be that upset if that kiss triggered some emotional response in you.

Sally: Oh, my god enough. Please don’t you dare try and make this into more than it is, okay? Just stay out of my way and out of my life. And for the love of god, stay out of my head.

Mamie: Well, thank you all so much for coming tonight. Wow, I feel as if I’m in a dream. Standing here in genoa city, my home for so many years. In the neil winters jazz lounge, my brilliant nephew-in-law. Surrounded by my beautiful– my beautiful family. Sorry, I’ve missed you all so much. It won’t surprise any of you who know me that I have not stopped keeping tabs on you from the sidelines. And so, I’m aware of many of the ups and downs that you’ve all been through. I also know about some of the anger and animosity that’s been happening between you as well. I don’t mind telling you how much it breaks my heart and know that it breaks olivia’s heart too. And don’t think for one minute that neil and drucilla are not looking down and they’re having their hearts broken too. Which is exactly why I have asked you to be here tonight. To let you know that it is my intention to return to genoa city to whip you all in shape and to make this family the strong powerhouse that it was before and that it shall be again. (Vo) when it comes to nature valley, which camp are you in?

[ Sally sighing ]

Nick: Adam has a hold on you. Maybe he always will.

Sally: Look, nick, please. Okay? We are in such a good place and I really love what we have together. I don’t want to feel this way, okay? I– I– I don’t want to feel confused and– and mixed up. If– if I could straighten out my jumbled-up emotions right now, I would. But you asked me and this is where I’m at. But it doesn’t mean that I care about you any less. Just please tell me I haven’t screwed this up.

[ Sally sighing ]

[ Phone ringing ]

Nick: Yeah, I like that one too. It’s sally.

Sharon: Oh, okay. You should take that.

Nick: Hey.

Sally: Hey, how are you?

Nick: Just, uh, here with sharon, working?

[ Sally sighing ]

Sally: You are not okay. I can hear it in your voice. Neither am I.

Nick: Has adam bothered you again?

Sally: Look, can we please talk this out?

Nick: Sally, I told you I’m–

Sally: Working. Yes, I– I know. I’m amazed that you can actually concentrate right now.

Nick: Well, sharon’s pretty good at grounding me when I need it.

Sally: Remind me to thank her. Nick, please. I– I completely steered things in the wrong direction this afternoon.

Nick: Yeah, they did go south pretty quickly.

Sally: Yeah, I know. I’m sorry.

Nick: Then adam showing up didn’t help. You know what? You’re right. We need to talk. I’m on my way.

[ Sally sighing ]

[ Sally exhaling ]

Mamie: Now, just to be clear, I have no illusions about being able to unify this family from a distance, which is why I intend to do this work from the inside. I have purchased a substantial investment in chancellor-winters from a very influential, very cooperative, secret investor.

Devon: Well, I don’t think it’s a secret because we know that the investor is victor newman.

Mamie: So, now you know. And I hope that you’re as excited as I am to know that I’m gonna be strongly connected to the future that lily and devon are building. In memory of two of our most extraordinary family members, kathleen chancellor and neil winters.

Devon: Yes.

All: Hear, hear. Cheers.

Mamie: And now, nate, as for you. And we all know that you’re in knee-deep over at newman enterprises. And good for you. Good for you. But I just want you to know upfront, it will give me great pleasure to lure you away to rejoin us at chancellor-winters.

Lily: Uh, sorry, did you just say rejoin us?

Sally: Nick, don’t make too much out of this, okay? It didn’t mean anything to me–

Nick: But it meant everything to him.

Sally: Okay. He kissed me. I didn’t–

Nick: How did you feel afterward? Sally, there’s no judgment here, okay? I’m not mad at you, I promise, but I need to know everything. No matter what, just be honest. I need to know how you felt because it’s obvious adam’s never gonna let this go, no matter what he says.

Sally: I had a mixed reaction, I guess. I– I don’t know how I felt. No question, the kiss was out of line. And– and I really do feel like he was sincere when he said he was sorry and…

Nick: And what?

Sally: I don’t know. It’s hard to just see how much pain he’s in, still being in love with me and knowing that I’m with you.

Nick: So, there is a part of you that is still in love with him?

Nick: Adam.

Adam: Nick. Look, um, I was gonna call you later, okay? I have something that I wanna say to you and–

Nick: I’ll go first. You need to stop this. You need to leave her alone. For sally’s benefit, mine, and definitely yours. You know me, my patience has a limit.

[ Nick sighing ]

Nick: I just saw adam downstairs.

Sally: Oh, no, please tell me you didn’T.

Nick: I didn’t lay a hand on him. I didn’t even raise my voice.

Sally: What did you do?

Nick: I warned him that he is gonna leave you alone because I’ve run out of patience.

Sally: I’m sure he didn’t take that well.

Nick: Actually, he did. He says he knows he screwed up. That he was wrong and that he apologized to both of us.

Sally: Well, that’s a relief, right?

Nick: If it were coming from anyone other than my brother, yeah. It’s just another adam newman mind game, but I’m at my breaking point with him.

Sally: Well, I mean, do you really think that’s what he’s up to?

Nick: There is no way in hell I believe he’s gonna leave you alone, sally. He’s just trying to get me to let my guard down.

Sally: Okay. Well, you know what? I– at the end of the day, it– it doesn’t really matter. Adam’s gonna do whatever adam is gonna do and we can deal with it if and when it comes to it. But honestly, frankly, it is the last thing on my mind right now ’cause the one thing that I care about, the only thing that I care about is the reason that I wanted to see you.

Nick: And what’s that?

Sally: I just really want to know if we’re okay.

Nick: I don’t know. I don’t know. That depends on you and what’s in your heart. I want to know the truth. No more deflecting. No more denial. I want the truth. No matter what it is.

Sally: The truth is that I’m falling in love with you too. I am.

Adam: Sharon.

Sharon: Oh, we’re closed, adam.

Adam: Yeah. I– I– I know you are. But the, uh, the lights were still on and your car was still in the parking lot, so I thought I would stop in and say hi. Is– is there anything that I can help you with?

Sharon: Um, as a matter of fact, there is. Could you tell me why you feel that you have to mess things up for everyone who you believe has harmed you?

Adam: Oh, I take it you spoke to nick.

Sharon: I have.

Adam: Oh, I can only imagine how he spun things. But then again, I guess he didn’t need to because, um, I’m guilty as charged. I crossed the line, okay? So, nick has every reason to be upset with me.

Sharon: Well, I agree with that. I feel badly for him.

Adam: Yeah. Yeah, so do I.

Sharon: I doubt that.

Adam: No, no, I– I really, I mean it, I do. Because what nick doesn’t see and what became clear as a bell to me today is that he is fooling himself.

Sharon: Meaning?

Adam: Sharon, sally’s not in love with nick. Sally’s still in love with me.

Mamie: You heard me perfectly, lily. I know that nate left chancellor-winters under less-than-ideal circumstances, but I’m hoping that we can take all of that anger and that sense of betrayal and leave it in the past where it belongs. And that we can invite nate back to rejoin us in our family’s company.

Lily: Yeah. I don’t know if that’s possible, but it’s the word “us” that’s confusing me because you bought an interest in the company from victor, but yet you’re making it sound like you’re gonna be an integral part of it. So, I mean, what exactly are your intentions at chancellor-winters?

Jill: Yeah. Actually, I’m pretty curious about that myself.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

What a relief they found my dad’s will, huh? So Maggie can move back in, kick Vivian to the curb. Better be careful if she hears you say that. She’s gonna remind you once again that she carried you in her womb. As if that means a damn thing. All it does is embarrass me, actually. Since she’s obviously a very bad person, and we are very lucky to be rid of.

Oh God, I wish I could say the same about the very bad person that continues to darken my doorstep. And especially Sarah’s. Xander? Yeah. He’s made it very clear that he has no intention whatsoever of staying away from Sarah. Or the baby.

What’s new with me, Mom? You mean besides everything? No, I haven’t had a chance to talk to Xander about any of it, cause… I, I haven’t even seen him. He didn’t come home last night. Wait, Mom, I gotta go, okay? Are, are you okay? Where were you? I’m so sorry. I, I didn’t mean to worry you. I slept the night in my office.

Yesterday was just such a crazy day, obviously. I, I needed time to process it. But I should have, I should have called you. It, I understand. I just, I didn’t know what to say. No, it’s fine. When you were gone, I did some thinking too. About what? About me moving out. I’m

surprised you took me out for detail. Yes, well, I appreciate you keeping an eye on the patient Ava Vitale shot, but I can take it from here. She’s my client now. Oh, I, I thought you were her client. Yes, well, certain circumstances dictated that the roles be reversed. I’m now representing her, and have advised her to exercise her right to remain silent.

Well, I’m sure she’s going to take your advice, Mr. DiMera. You mentioned there was another job you needed me for? I do. I was hoping that you could succeed where the aforementioned patient failed. I want you to find and to

get us out of here, Susan. Me? Yes, you. You’re the one who lured me and Harris to the big smoke with one of your, your little mental telegrams, right? So, so why don’t you try sending one of those psychic signals to somebody who can get us out? Yeah, can you, can you do that, Susan? I don’t know. Okay, well, you know, you need to figure that out real soon.

Because if you don’t, I’m pretty sure your ex husband, the crazy one, Edmund, he’s gonna end up shooting someone today.

Actually, the people that we’re looking for are under the impression that Susan Banks is still alive. But that’s impossible. I was told she was blown to bits in a car crash. Yeah, well, be that as it may, uh, we understand that they came here. What, to London? No, here to your apartment. I certainly haven’t seen them.

Well, they looked up your address just before they went missing. Well, that’s odd, isn’t it? Well, um, I will let you know if they show up. Alright, uh, do you mind if I have a look around? Well, actually, I do.

Edmund. What’s going on? What’s the problem here? The problem is, if I allow you to look around my flat, then you most certainly will find my guests. And I just can’t have that.

Like sand through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives.

Is Ineva Vitale missing? She is. After shooting my client in cold blood, she and another patient escaped bathing into parts unknown. Hm. See? Not that you asked my opinion, but… I mean… Commissioner Hernandez, he’s headed out for years for you to get locked up. Why give him an excuse now to turn up the heat?

Oh, I’m not worried about Hernandez. And I’ve waited far too long to get vengeance from my mother, whom Ava Vitale has had people try and convince me is still alive. What? How could that be? It couldn’t be. So either Ava’s delusional, she’s trying her best to trick me into backing off. Either way… I want her dead.

You know,

I am afraid that my gifts do not work like that, Missy Moo. You know what? You want me to just broadcast the signal out into the neighborhood? You’ll never know until you try. There’s gotta be somebody you can reach. Okay, fine. Alright. Fine, fine, fine. So who do you want me to call? I don’t know. Scott Lanyard.

007 Paddington Bear. Oh, I do love that little bear with his little yellow hat and his blue coat. Okay, Susan, Susan, focus! Okay, just please reach out to somebody who can come here and save us. Okey dokey, Schmokey. But you know what helps? When you’re not yelling at me! Fine. I will be quiet. Oh, you know what?

And I’d also appreciate it if you don’t give me those dirty looks. And that goes for you too, Mr. Handsome Hair Shortcut. Okay. Ready or not, here I go.

You don’t think this is gonna work.

Did you see something? Susan. Susan, answer me. I, I, I, I, I, I, I didn’t, I didn’t get to see the message, I just, I saw this, this image, it hit me. What? An image? An image of what? It wasn’t, it wasn’t a what, it was a phone. It was um, oh boy, I saw Edmund, I saw him, it was vivid, vivid as days long. And, uh, he was, um, he was pointing a gun.

He was pointing a gun at your, your baby boy.

And who are these guests of yours? Well, quite coincidentally, they’re the two people that you came looking for. My mom is here. What did you do with her? Your mother? You’re Ava Vitale’s son? Yeah, I am. Then I’m sure you’re aware of what your mother did to my Susan. Kidnapped her and drove her off the side of a cliff.

Yeah. Yeah, I know what happened. Ava did her best to put out Susan’s light. And it’s a beautiful life that this world so desperately needs. It shattered my heart. Well, I’m sorry to hear that, Mr. Crumb. Well, I hope you don’t take this personally. But your mother hurt me deeply. And now, I’m gonna hurt her deeply by killing her son.

Well, hang on, Mr. Crumb. Okay? No one needs to get hurt here. Oh, I beg to differ. We can all see that you’re suffering. Oh, you can, can you? You have no idea what suffering is. Susan was my one true love. From the moment I first saw her, I knew I was gonna spend my life protecting her. Keeping her safe from this cruel world.

Yeah. Her loss was a terrible tragedy. Her death haunted me. Cast a pall over my every waking moment. Whenever I closed my eyes, all I could see was her face and her hair and that… perfect smile. The smile? Yeah, that’s what I love most about her. I mean, we were apart for years, but I always held up hope that we’d be reunited.

That despite our miscommunications…

It should take me back. I can’t imagine why she would have left you. Although she, this took my deep love and devotion for obsession. Because I said I’d do anything to take care of her. Even kill. I see. Oh. But she’s gone now. See, you don’t have to do that, Edmund. Okay, you don’t. Your life has value. It does, O’Shea.

Please, please just give me the gun, Edmund. Commissioned. I assure you, I have more than one bullet in this gun, and if you do not stand aside, sir, I have no issue shooting you first. And Ava Vitale’s impertinent son second.

My baby boy, Tripp. Is Tripp here? What? Um, it seems like, like he’s right out there in the living room. Oh dear God. And Krum hasn’t gone out? But yeah, old Krum is now and he’s not one to roll up the red carpet for uninvited guests. No. No. Tripp! Tripp! We’re back here! Tripp! Not gonna work, he can’t here you.

No, no no no. See, Edmund, he sound proofed this whole place before, uh, he locked me up in here. Yeah, of course he did. Yeah, and I just wish he me that because I screamed just like you, I screamed with myself, my, my voice got really hoarse, hoarse, hoarse, hoarse, hoarse, hoarse you know, and it, I sounded like I was, I was uh, Elvis on his 3rd encore on the, you know, Aloha from Hawaii via satellite.

Just stop! Stop talking!

Harris, we have to get Tripp. Please. Please, we have to get out there. We have to save him.

Well, Bronson, do you want the assignment or not? Look, you want the Vitali woman dead, I’ll make her dead. I just need to know where she is. She was a sitting duck in Bayview. Now, I don’t know where she could be. I’m working on locating her. But until that happens, there is another sitting duck waiting for you.

Right here in Salem, in fact. Another tiger? Who? Ava’s accomplice. Xander Cook.

Believe me, I totally get why Sarah’s doing this. I mean, anything to keep Xander away from her innocent child. I just, I can’t believe after what Xander did to E. J. DiMera’s mother. I mean, why is he not in prison? Or dead? Sarah doesn’t still have feelings for him, does she? You mean besides disgust? I’m just asking No, no, Phillip.

He lied to her over and over again. Even used her as cover while he kidnapped and terrorized Susan. I know all that. I also know you and Sarah have had your issues. Yeah, I still have a lot of work to do to regain Sarah’s trust. But Xander, unless he’s found out a way to resurrect Susan Banks from the dead, there’s no way in hell that Sarah’s gonna let him back into her life.

Or her daughter’s.

Hey, I, I know a lot has changed. I mean, I just found out that I’m her father to that little girl, but… Which makes me assume that… You want to try to work things out with her mother? I know that you loved Sarah for a long time and maybe you never stopped. I don’t love her anymore. She, she tried to keep me from my own child.

She put another man’s name on my daughter’s birth certificate. And I’m not saying that any of that is okay and you have every right to feel hurt and betrayed. That’s how I knew I had to tell you the truth about what I overheard. From Max and Phillip. Right. And in that moment, you proved that I can trust you, Chloe.

I know that our relationship is strong and

honest. I’m gonna fight, Sarah, for this baby. And, darlin I need you by my side when I do that.

Xander Cook kidnapped and terrorized my mother. Here’s the reason why she ended up in that car with Eva Vitale. Well, that sounds like he deserves what’s coming to him. But I gotta ask, is it safe? I mean, like, like I said before, you’re already under suspicion for what happened over at Bayview. This guy, Cook, takes a bullet.

It means there’s gonna be a lot of blowback coming your way. I’m prepared for it. That’s why you’re going to frame someone else. That makes sense. So who’s our fall guy? Someone who hates Xander Cook just as much as I do. Rex Brady.

You know, I have to admit, Chloe overhearing us talking about Sarah and… It’s really complicated things. I hope you don’t blame her for telling Xander what she heard. No, no, no, no. She just did what she thought was right. And, look, we both know secrets like that that have a way of coming out. So maybe it’s better we deal with it.

I hope so. Doesn’t make it any easier. No. Hey, Chloe didn’t just overhear us talking about Xander being Victoria’s father. Chloe also heard you say that you’re still in love with her. She did it. And how’d she take that? Better than I could have imagined. Really?

After everything I did to Brady, I never thought she could forgive me. Let alone consider being in a relationship with me again. But? But, Chloe admitted, when I came back to Salem, Her feelings for me came back too.

Uh, you want to win custody of the baby? Oh, no, no, it’s a long shot. I have a spotted history to say the least, but I’m a father, Chloe. I deserve to be a part of her life. So you hired an attorney? I had a preliminary discussion with the custody lawyer. She She said it’s probably a bad idea if I leave Salem right now.

I’m sorry, I know we are gonna go to New York and, and get married.

I do still want to marry you, Chloe. I don’t want to be with Sarah. Especially after what she did. I love you. I want to be with you.

I’m sorry, Xander. I don’t think I feel the same way anymore.

I don’t want to be with you.

I need to get to church. I’m not going to let that guy hurt your son. You’re going to be able to break that chain. Uh, maybe I can help? If Harris can’t do it, how are you going to help? Well, I’m just going to pray to God for strength. Prayer. Praying, praying, praying. That is your answer. Prayer is always answered.

So come, and we are going to pray to the Lord to loosen the weakest link. I’ll take all the help I can get. Alright, well you just work your end of it, Mr. Harrison. I’ll work mine. Okay.

Self destruct! Move,

Rafe. No! Touchdown! Both of us are being shot! Boy, it makes sense, Commissioner. Besides, this isn’t your fight. But you, Tripp. Is it? I’ll ask you to save a place for your mother in hell. And I give you my assurance, you won’t have to wait long.

Paris! Oh my god. What is going on up there? What if he doesn’t make it to him in time? Okay, hold on, hold on, Honey,

I mean, look the good Lord, he helped break the chains! Didn’t he? And, and now we have to pray that he’s gonna help Mr. Harris stop, Edmond, from pulling that.

You all right? Yeah. Gun was pointed at the ground when he pulled the trigger. Thank God. No, this is not right. Do yourself a favor. Sit there and don’t move. Mind if I hold the gun? Yeah. Where’s my mom? She’s fine. Follow me. Paris? Rafe. You don’t have to worry. We’re done running. Alright. Scotland Yard

will be joining us. In the meantime, consider yourself under arrest. I

don’t hear him anything. There was only one gunshot, and then… Harris, what happened? What was the worst trip? Oh my god. Oh my god, thank god.

Susan, you’re, you’re alive! Oh my goodness, it’s so good to see you, Dr. Joe Johnson! I guess you were right, huh? Yeah, I guess so. Why don’t I get you two unchained? Oh, yes, I’d like that very, very much, Mr. Michaels. Thank you. Um, you want to thank me, you can tell your son EJ to leave Ava alone. Okay. Um, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, I can, I can do that.

Don’t you worry about Mr. Michaels. My Elvis, he’s such a good boy, and he’s gonna listen to his mama. Yeah, I hope you’re right about

that. Rex Brady has been presenting himself as the father of Sarah Horton’s newborn child. But it’s come to light that Xander Cook is her true baby daddy. Sounds like that could cause some serious bad blood between the two men. I’m assuming you don’t like this Rex guy either. I have no feelings about him at all.

But like you said, we need a fall guy. So Dr. Rex is going to have to be… collateral damage.

You and Chloe. I know it hasn’t always been smooth sailing for you two. To put it mildly. But… I have always believed that you two belong together. I won’t argue with you about that. But, I lost my way last time around with her. Obviously. My obsession took over and I did some terrible things. I wasn’t well and I hurt a lot of people.

Chloe included. I never want to be that guy again. Happy to hear that. Really? So what does this mean for you and Chloe? It means I’m sitting back and letting things happen the way they’re supposed to. Chloe knows how I feel. Now it’s up to her to decide who she wants to be with. Sounds like a good plan.

Because, you know, it’s crazy. Which part? That the women we love… can either choose to be with us, or that thug Xander. I have to say, I like our chances.

When I, when I didn’t come home last night, did you think I was, did you think I was with Sarah? Or that I’d just give up on everything that you and I have? I don’t blame you if you had doubts, Chloe. Well that, that certainly didn’t help, but this is not just about me. It’s you and Sarah. What’s it about, then?

Well, when you went to confront her, Philip came over.

And? And he, he said that he still loves me and that he never stopped. Well, that sounds like his problem, not yours. That’s true, but… Honestly, I have unresolved feelings for him. Since when? Since… always, I guess. You know, I thought he was dead, and it, it didn’t matter, and then, when I saw him, I had all these feelings come rushing back.

So, um, does that mean that you want to be with him? No. I, I don’t know. The way things ended with us was really ugly, and I would never want that back, but I Guess what I’m trying to say is that I need some time to figure things out, okay?

I, uh, I understand.

I love you, and I have loved being with you, Xander. Don’t you think that maybe we somehow ended up here because Sarah broke your heart, and I thought I’d never see Philip again, and if I’m, if I’m being honest, I’m not over him. And I think once you stop being so angry, you’ll realize that you’re not over Sarah.

So, what now? I guess spent one last night here, and… My old room. Tomorrow I will pack my things and I’ll go.

My God, it’s you. You really are alive. Yes, praise the Lord! Well, it’s you too, Commissioner. Well, I just can’t believe half the Salem came Ol Mike. Yeah, I just… I can’t believe that he held you captive this whole time. How did you even get here? Crumb said he got a phone call from someone who knew Susan survived the crash.

Yeah, and he said that next thing he knew, some guy showed up with an injured Susan. Who was it, Crumb? I already told them. I have no idea who the man was. Susan, you don’t remember? No, I’m coming to Blake. Blake, yep. Oh, yeah, but you know what? It really does scare the bejesus out of me to think that whoever grabbed me,

is still out there. Hey, boss. Everything set for today? Yeah. Yeah. But the techs are expiring now. Send him over to Cook’s apartment. Where you’ll be waiting? Where I’ll be waiting. Call me when everything’s done.

Mom, you’re not hearing me. I am hearing you. I am hearing you loud and clear. You’re planning on remaining married to a woman who is using you and letting you raise another man’s child. Sarah is not using me. We care about each other. A lot. And I already love her daughter as if she was my own. You know what?

Legally, she is. So my god, if dad can be okay with this, why can’t you? Because unlike you and your father, I am thinking straight. Okay? That little girl was sired by Xander Cook, and there is no way in hell he’s just gonna back off and let you pretend to be the father. I’m not afraid of Xander. Well, you damn well should be.

Hold on.

Speak of the devil. Oh, God. So what does he want to do? Squash you like a bug? He wants to see me. Right now. No. Rex, please don’t do that. Oh, no. I’m going. This is going to be the perfect opportunity to set that bastard straight. Rex, please! Later, Bob! Rex.

Well, I guess this is it. Yeah, um, we’ll figure out another time for me to come get the rest of my stuff. Anytime. You always have a place here.

I, um… I thought that you should have this. What is it? It’s the dartboard. You sure you don’t want to keep it? You went to such trouble hanging that thing up. Yeah, I remember. But if I keep it, you know, whose picture am I going to put on it? There’s so many choices. Sarah, Rex, Philip, mine.

Never give up, Star.

Take care, Xander.

You

too,

Chloe. All is in motion, father. Justice will be meted out to Xander Cook. And as soon as Ava Vital crawls out from whatever rock she’s under, she’s next.

Thank you, Ray, for letting my mom do this her way. Oh, I’m not doing it out of the goodness of my heart. And by all rights, Ava and Michael should be in a jail cell right now, or at least back at Bayview. Yeah. But you know as well as I do that, it was EJ who sent the woman to kill it. Yeah. Which is why I’m gonna do everything in my power to nail his ass.

Hello, Lee Chang. Ava, what the hell are you doing here? I thought you were… on the run. Well, I’m back now. And I brought you a little surprise. Not that you deserve it after trying to kill me. I have no idea who you’re talking about. Oh, EJ, spare me the phony denials. I know you sent that woman to murder me over at Bayview.

That’s why I’m here. I’m gonna end this. Now. End it how? See for yourself.

Hey, I got your text. Uh, yeah, thanks for meeting me. Um, there was something I needed to tell you. What is it? I’m, I’m leaving Salem.

Yes? Hey, sorry to bother you, uh, from the gas company. We got a word that there’s a leak in the building. Might I come in and take a look? Not really a great time, to be honest, mate. It’s a gas leak, sir. These things could be deadly if we don’t address them. How long will it take? Not long, I promise. Thanks.

How much do you want?

Transcript provided by and proofread by Suzanne

Eric: Have a seat, Dr. Colby, please. I appreciate very much your discretion, meeting us here at the house. Thank you.

Colby: Of course.

Donna: We really wanna make sure that nobody else finds out about this.

Eric: I wanna know what’s going on. What’s happening with me? What’s wrong with me, Doctor?

[ Brooke chuckling ]

Brooke: Wow.

Ridge: Come on. What do you think?

Brooke: I see you’re going with the jewel tones.

Ridge: Yes, and to me, this is the shape of water. The body brings out the shape of the dress and the dress brings out the shape of the body, yes?

Brooke: It’s so sensual.

Ridge: Mm. It’s what dreams are made of.

Kenzie: We’ve all noticed you’re more inspired than ever, ever since you two reunited.

Ridge: Well, I’ve always been inspired by this little nugget. As long as I can remember. I love you.

Brooke: I love you.

RJ: Where is– I just had it. Where’s the burgundy? I can’t find it. Hey, have you– have you seen the burgundy? Thank you. Sorry, Granddad really wants to see this.

Luna: You really care about him.

RJ: Yeah, I do. Especially after what I told you.

Luna: Yeah, I’m serious. I promise, I won’t tell anyone about the tremors.

RJ: I trust you.

Luna: Look, I know a thing or two about family dynamics and I’m not gonna sit here and pretend like I know all of yours, but do you really want to keep this secret about your grandfather from your dad?

RJ: No. Of course, I don’t, but I made a promise to my granddad. If this were up to me, I’d just tell my dad.

Ridge: See, I like the transition in here. Does it flow okay?

Kenzie: Not too snug.

Ridge: Okay, good! I think that’s all we need for today. Thank you so much. Bye.

Kenzie: Carter.

Carter: Kenzie. Wow, man. Very nice.

Ridge: Thank you.

Carter: Yeah. Your dad’s gonna have to bring his A game if he wants to compete with you.

Donna: Well, um, prior visits, you mentioned essential tremors?

Colby: Yes, that was a possible initial diagnosis. After some further testing, we were able to rule out some other theories too. Well, you know our concerns, Eric.

Eric: Yeah.

Colby: Cerebrovascular disease and TIA’s are our main focus.

Donna: What?

RJ: I– I don’t know. I don’t know, Luna. I mean, I just– I feel really caught in the middle.

Luna: Yeah, it doesn’t make it easy.

RJ: I really want to just tell my dad, but I don’t want to betray my granddad.

Luna: It’s really great, you know. Your relationship with your grandfather. I mean, it’s so loving and caring. I didn’t have that with mine.

RJ: You know, here I am talking about me and all of my issues, you’re getting to know– you’re getting to know me a little bit too well, I would think. Come on, tell me, tell me a little about you. Give me just one little juicy Luna secret.

Carter: Ridge, I know this isn’t easy for you.

Ridge: It’s not easy for me. I’m worried about my dad, I’m worried about his health. I know he’s in good shape, but… I know– I know what kind of stress is created by trying to do this whole line by yourself.

Brooke: Add that to the fashion showdown.

Ridge: I’m trying to get through to him, but he’s not listening. I don’t know. There’s something going on with him. It’s almost like something is pushing him to create this line all by himself.

Donna: You knew about this?

Eric: Yeah, yeah. The good news is though that you’ve been able to cross off some of the scarier things from the list, is that right?

Colby: That’s right.

Donna: What’s scarier than cerebrovascular disease? What? Is that– is that neurological?

Colby: To be clear, I don’t have an official diagnosis yet. We need more testing. Make sure that we’re not missing anything else. I just wanted to be up front and honest with you.

Donna: Okay, I’m just hoping it’s arthritis or carpal tunnel or–

Eric: Yeah, me too, actually, but– but the, uh, doctor, the tremors are getting worse.

Colby: How so?

Eric: I was able, not too long ago, to actually pick up a pencil and hold it for a while before it started hurting and play piano with both hands, but now, I mean, this morning, in the office, I couldn’t even hold a pen to sign a contract.

Donna: Dr. Colby, please, um, as soon as you get any more results– actually, you know, why can’t we do further testing now?

Colby: It’s a process, but I assure you, my office will be in touch with the next set of tests.

Donna: No, no. Dr. Colby, I–

Eric: No, no, Donna. It’s okay, it’s okay. Uh, thank you, Doctor. I appreciate you– I appreciate you coming to the house and your discretion here. We’ll be in touch very soon. Thanks– thanks for coming.

Donna: Eric.

Luna: You know, we should really get back to Eric’s.

RJ: What? Wait a minute. Hold on, hold on. Come on. You can’t get off that easy. Plus, he’s– he’s– he’s got a– he’s got a meeting or something. Come on. I wanna hear about the mysterious Luna. Where are you from? I don’t even know where you’re from.

Luna: Okay, okay. Um, I’m from Northern California.

RJ: Okay.

Luna: The Bay Area. Um, my mom had me when she was really young, so it’s always been just the two of us and we’re like artistic free spirits.

RJ: Oh.

Luna: My grandfather and aunt are very driven. They’re very different from us. My mom’s kinda a hippie, so we’d save up all our money and splurge to go to, like, music festivals and art shows and pop up restaurants.

RJ: Well, she sounds like a really cool mom.

Luna: She is. Yeah. Um, clearly, my life is very different from yours. It’s much more modest. Yeah, I mean, we didn’t have much, but my mom always made sure I knew she loved me. And that is enough about me. My life is pretty boring compared to yours, RJ.

RJ: Boring? No. Not at all. Are you kidding me? I have so many questions. You’re even more fascinating now.

Donna: Why didn’t you tell me this?

Eric: I didn’t want to worry you.

Donna: But you– you were hiding the truth from me, Eric.

Eric: No, I– I– I didn’t want to hurt you. I’m sorry. I didn’t want to hurt you, truly.

Donna: I’m a big girl. I can handle this, okay? But not if I don’t know what’s going on with you. Eric, we’re partners, lovers. I mean, you– you mean more to me than I can even put into words. But you have to tell me what’s going on with you so I– so I can help you.

Eric: How are you gonna– how are you gonna help me play “Claire de Lune” on the piano? You gonna help me draw a flounced wrap-over? That’s the kind of help I need.

Donna: I can love you. I can hold you. I can look you in the eyes and– and tell you that you’re not going through this alone. My god, you shouldn’t have to suffer through this alone. I would certainly want that if I were in your position. I thought that you wanted that for me too.

Eric: Donna, I’m sorry.

Donna: I don’t want an apology. I want you to open up to me. I want you to share with me. I want you to realize that I’m your person. Like, what was I just saying to you earlier? That we’re gonna fight this. We’re gonna fight this together. No more secrets, okay? God, this is so unfair. I mean, you’re– I mean, you’re an artist. You’re a world renowned designer. To have your gift taken away like this, it’s– it’s– it’s a crime. We’re gonna fight this, okay? Once we find out what this is, we are gonna get the best doctors, the best therapy, the best medicine. I won’t let my honey bear lose who he is. I won’t.

Eric: All right.

Donna: Eric… I know you’re so strong and you’re so proud and you’re so proud, but if we’re being honest, I have to tell you, I’m really getting scared. Please. Please, Eric, I think it’s really time. It’s time. Time to tell Ridge. Please. The whole family.

Luna: I can’t thank you enough.

RJ: Why? For what?

Luna: I don’t know. Just being so welcoming. Letting me be a part of the inner circle, even as an intern.

RJ: Well, you know, wait until the initiation.

Luna: Oh, stop.

RJ: I’m kidding.

Luna: No, I just– I think you’re super special. I mean, I could tell how amazing you were just by following you online, but meeting you in person, seeing the way you are with your grandfather, it just– all I know is that when your dad finds out why you’ve been helping your grandfather, he’s just gonna love and respect you even more. I’m serious, RJ. I mean, you’re an incredibly special person. You’re kind and talented, generous and very handsome.

Brooke: Oh, I hate to see you worry so much. I have an idea. Why don’t we play hooky for the rest of the day, okay?

Ridge: Huh?

Brooke: Yeah. We could do something, breathe inspiration back into you.

Ridge: What were you thinking?

Brooke: I don’t know. Let’s go to the beach. Take a walk, maybe have lunch on the pier. Go to the spa. You know I always have standing reservations. No? Okay. I know. I’ve got keys to a big empty house with a big empty bed.

Ridge: See, now you’re making sense. I appreciate what you’re trying to do. I just– I– I can’t shake this concern I have for my dad. What is he doing? A whole collection by himself? Why now? Why?

Eric: Donna, we don’t have to get into this now.

Donna: Actually, I think we do. I really think it’s time that you reconsider and tell Ridge and the whole family. You need all the love and support that you can get.

Eric: No, no, no, no. That’s the last thing I want, Donna. I wanna do this alone. I wanna do this my way. Look, I’m a designer. The whole world knows it. And when I finish with this competition, I’m gonna be the best designer. It’ll prove it to Ridge once and for all.

Donna: You don’t need to prove anything else, Eric. You’ve already done that. Look, I– I went along with your wishes, but things have changed. I say we just end this stupid competition and tell them what’s going on. You’re sick, Eric. You’re sick. And– and now, you’re playing games with your son.

Eric: No, no. This is not a game. I’m sorry, honey. It’s not a game, Donna. It’s a very serious competition between Ridge and me. We’re going head-to-head, winner take all. This is gonna be my finest collection. My final line, my last line.

Donna: But if you do this, it could be your final line.

Eric: That’s even more reason for me to do this, isn’t it? Run this company from behind that desk? Don’t tell Ridge, don’t tell anyone, don’t tell your sisters. I don’t want anyone to know. I wanna do it my way. Look, I– I built this company with– with these two hands. I used to be able to thread a needle with this. I did all of it by hand and I can take this company back. I can run Forrester Creations from that desk again and I’m gonna do it, you’ll see. And Ridge, Ridge will see who gets the most orders. There’s only one master here and it’s me. It’s Eric Forrester.

Donna: Yeah.

Eric: Okay.

Ridge: I don’t know what my dad needs from me, I really don’t, but I know what he wants. He wants this competition. Maybe, I’ll just have to beat him and that’ll be the end of it.

[ Donna sighing ]

Donna: Okay, I’m gonna make us more tea, okay?

Eric: Wonderful.

Donna: I love you so much, honey bear.

Eric: I love you too.

Donna: Be right back.

Eric: Okay.

Interview with Deborah Pratt

TV Interview!

QUANTUM LEAP -- “Quantum Leap at WonderCon -- Producer Deborah Pratt; Saturday, March 25, 2023 from the Anaheim Convention Center, Anaheim, Calif.

Interview with producer Deborah Pratt of “Quantum Leap” on NBC by Suzanne 9/26/23

What makes this interview interesting is that Deborah worked on both the classic “Quantum Leap” as well as the new one. In fact, she was married to the creator of the show, Donald Bellasario. I’m sure she has many stories beyond what she revealed in our interview. I love both versions of the show, and I can’t wait to see what happens the rest of the season.

Suzanne: So, how many episodes are filmed already for the season?

Deborah: Eight. Are we lucky or what?

Suzanne: Oh, that’s good. Yeah, there’s so few scripted shows right now.

Deborah: Yeah, I think it was a great idea of NBC Universal, Martin, Dean, everybody said, “Let’s just keep moving forward.” And I’m really excited that we did.

Suzanne: Yeah. I just watched the first two episodes, I enjoyed them a lot.

Deborah: Oh, thank you.

Suzanne: I’m a big fan of the old Quantum Leap and the new Quantum Leap, and I know you’ve worked on both.

Deborah: I did. I was there from the beginning.

Suzanne: Wow. You should write a book about that?

Deborah: You know, I can’t tell you how many people have asked me to write a book about my experiences and how I got to where I got to, and when I brought Quantum Leap to Don and how it evolved the way it evolved. It’s exciting. I was very young and got to learn how to make a series.

Suzanne: And seems like now would be a good time to come out with a book since you‘ve got the new show.

Deborah: Yeah, yeah. Well, I have two new books coming out.

Suzanne: Oh, cool. That’s right.

Deborah: I’ve got Warrior One, and I’ve got the fifth book in my Vision Quest series. And truthfully, I started a Quantum Leap book, but it was not the history of. Matt Deal has that covered. I don’t know if you’ve ever read any of his books. He’s so good. He goes into all kinds of detail, and he just had a sequel come out. So, it’s really worth checking into. He’s from London.

Suzanne: It’s about Quantum Leap?

Deborah: There are things I read in those books that I either forgot.

Suzanne: So, he’s got a second book about the making of the original Quantum Leap, or is it about the new one?

Deborah: I don’t know if it’s come out yet. It’s called Beyond the Leap. And it’s the revival, so it gets into the new show.

Suzanne: Great. So, how have the strikes affected filming other than the obvious way?

Deborah: Well, yeah, of course, we shut down, which is the obvious way. In that sense, you know, how quickly will we be able to – knock on glass; I have a glass desk – How quickly will we be back up and running? And we’re standing by the the Screen Actors Guild, in that they have a lot to fight for…in the sense that creativity needs to be protected. But your voice, your face, your body are, are on the line here, and you need to have your rights to control them.

Suzanne: And now that they’ve got a tentative agreement with the Writers Guild, will the writers be returning to make more Quantum Leap scripts?

Deborah: Well, it’s got to go through the process of the legalese straightened out. The board of directors – I used to sit on the board of directors for the Writers Guild – will meet and vote on it, and then it goes out to the membership. All of that happens.

Suzanne: Does that take a few days, a few weeks, few months?

Deborah: It’s a process, it can be as short as, you know, this is, I think, my third strike that I’ve been involved with in my career. So, sometimes it happens quite quickly, and other times there are little snigs and snags. Right? I have great hope that the AMPTP is going to understand that they can’t make anything without us. Right. And truthfully, AI can build a streamer for you. [laughs] So, it’s not like it’s not in danger.

Suzanne: So, what can you tell us about what’s going on with Ben and the rest of them this season?

Deborah: Ben didn’t get home at the end of season one. I can tell you that. If he did get home, we wouldn’t have a series. Ben did not get home. You got to see Episode One and Episode Two you said. So, he’s got a real reality check. He’s been out there by himself. He hasn’t seen anybody. He’s still asking for Addison. So, he doesn’t realize or understand why. “Why am I alone on this on this leap?”

Suzanne: And would you say would you say things are ramped up more this season? Usually the second season is like more action, more this, more that, more twists and turns.

Deborah: Well, we certainly got a lot of that in in those first episodes. I know if you looked at the trailer, which is wonderful kudos to marketing at NBC Universal, we went to Egypt, literally got on a plane and went to Egypt. So, that’s really fun and exciting. We also went further back in time then the show has ever gone. I won’t tell you when. It’s further back.

Suzanne: Yeah, I think I saw that in the trailer. I don’t remember the date. But I remember seeing an old [unintelligible]

Deborah: 1692.

Suzanne: Yeah, that was it.

Deborah: I know. I’m supposed to remember all that stuff. [laughs]

Suzanne: That’s fine.

Deborah: I have to remember all that stuff. So, those things are really exciting and very adventurous, but the bigger things and what is Quantum Leap, is the heart of the show that the story’s really not just the the leaps. But the the stories with our main characters, Ben and [Addison], and Magic, Ian, and Jen. We get to know more about them, which is the fun thing. We get to know what’s at stake. You know, now that he’s been found, how did he get found? Those mysteries. Because we have the opportunity to solve those mysteries. And the first mystery, which was why he left in the first place, we solved it. We find out it’s to save his woman and ultimately, maybe even the world, and he gets to be a real hero in the first season. And Ben is so likable.

Suzanne: That’s true.

Deborah: Raymond Lee, I give huge props to him. Having worked with both Scott Bakula and Raymond Lee, I think the show will only accept exceptional people. It’s just how Quantum Leap is, you know.

Suzanne: And it was nice to go in a different direction then having to try to find a Scott Bakula clone, if you could even do that.

Deborah: If you could even do that. I don’t think you could even do that. But I think it, you know, it’s one of those things of time, space, Ziggy. I get to play a piece of artificial intelligence that, you know, needs more control than we know, that has more control than we know.

Suzanne: Right.

Deborah: So, all those things we get to play with, and we get to find out more of what happens to them when they go home at night. There’re two new characters. We know that Peter Gadiot, who’s now Tom Westfall is the United States officer, we meet him in the second episode and try to understand what magic had to give up to get the project going again, once they found him and then what Ian did to locate him and what Jen knows or doesn’t know. So, there’s all these arrays that are that are being set up to set the story threads for the tapestry that is Season Two.

Suzanne: Okay, and is there any chance – this is something that I’m sure all the fans have asked a million times, but is there any chance that we’ll get to see Sam Beckett again?

Deborah: There’s always a chance. You know, again, and I say this 100 times that, that I personally am working on this Quantum Leap movie. I think Sam could come back in a $100 million super star. I think that we have the opportunity to do what Star Trek has done. There are nine Star Trek spin offs and nine Star Trek movies. So, let’s expand the franchise to video games and motion pictures and rides. I always say, “Did you go to Comic-Con? Did you see the Quantum Leap ride?” I think the opportunity to really see what the show can do and let the imagination of not just the writers but also the fans write back and participate in it as they have always done, the stories that I’ve gotten, the letters that I’ve gotten, the important moments in history that teachers have used from the the original series to to teach history that is, in some cases, intentionally being forgotten. It is, I think, a great opportunity for conversation. And I think what the show has always done, and I so grateful for Martin and Dean is to give you both sides of the story. So, you have those two sides to figure out where do you stand on this emotional issue, this political issue, wherever we are in storytelling, right? And maybe you just stand in the middle as an observer. Maybe you’re just, you know, Addison now, and you are looking at what’s happening, but you’re looking at it from the perspective of a present day mind that knows some of this history. Then, there’s the fun of, you know, there’s a show, and it happened to be the year you were in high school. You get to hear the music and see the clothes, because it’s a little movie every week.

Suzanne: That’s true. There was an actor I recognized in the second episode we’ve just seen briefly. Vincent Irizarry. Will he be coming back? Do you know?

Deborah: The two characters that are coming back are Peter Gadiot, Who’s Tom Westfall, and Eliza Taylor comes into it. She’s Hannah in episode three. So, those are going to be our reoccur[ing] characters that are coming back. I don’t think Vince is –

Suzanne: He’s from the poker game. So, he’s not in the history part of it.

Deborah: Right. Right. Right. I remember him. And he’s wonderful, by the way. Are you a fan?

Suzanne: Yes

Deborah: He’s very, very good. You know, that’s the cool thing about the show. You never know. We can go back and find a character. That can be really fun to tell the story, because they have that recognition of time. So, it could happen.

Suzanne: Okay, I hope so. I hope so. You know, who would play poker with Jen? Do they not know what kind of brain she has?

Deborah: Thank you very much. Represent. Yeah, she’s smart. I love the women on this show. In that Addison and Jen and – And you want that opportunity. And then Sam gets to be a woman 50% of the time. I mean, that’s the other thing that is, I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but he leaps into, 50% of his characters are women.

Suzanne: Wow. I know he went often, but I didn’t know it was that high.

Producer Deborah Pratt of "Quantum Leap" on NBC (from her IMdB.com)Deborah: It was funny. They did the episode where he was the stewardess, episode 107. And I’ll never forget, they came down in these incredibly comfortable shoes. And I said, “Those weren’t the shoes those women had to wear in the 60s. They wore pointy toes, spike heels. And Genevieve who’s a wonderful costume designer, said, “Oh, I was just trying to be kind.” And they did a whole bit on it in one of the episodes, but, you know, we as women wore those shoes, and it’s fun to let men experience it, you know, vicariously, more than vicariously, he gets to do it for real, and that’s some of the fun stuff. And again, I go back to Raymond’s physical comedy is just delightful.

Suzanne: It’s great.

Deborah: He went to school and studied clowning…If you look at his physicality and how he can interpret some of those characters, it’s magical. That’s a lost art. You look at people like Robert Downey Jr. and people like that, who have great physicality in what they do, and I think that Raymond has that. He’s a real find. We’re very blessed to have him, besides being a really nice person.

Suzanne: That’s good to hear. That’s always good to hear. So, any outstanding guest stars that you can tell us about?

Deborah: Well, the pilot we’ve got, oh my gosh, Melissa Roxburgh from Manifest. François Arnaud from Midnight Texas and Aaron Abrams from Hannibal and Blind Spot, and [PJ] Byrne.

Suzanne: I was trying to remember where I knew him from; it’s from Blind Spot. I remember now.

Deborah: [PJ] Byrne from The Boys and Shazam. And Peter Gadiot from Yellowjackets and Eliza Taylor. You know, these are going to be our reoccurs, our regulars.

Suzanne: Well as as executive producer, do you have any control over the writing or the stories or anything like that?

Deborah: I give notes; I give my thoughts. And I say this with great humility, in the sense that I want Quantum Leap and the franchise of Quantum Leap to expand. I want the fact that Star Trek has nines spin offs, three concurrently, right now. It had nine major motion pictures, and I fought 30 years ago to have that and could not get the team to see the potential that’s there. This is very exciting to me. And it’s very important for me to keep the lore and the core of the show true to what Quantum Leap is about. But it’s very important for me to let someone create it into a new entity, to create [unintelligible] But but let’s see what it can be. And in my mind, I know multiple other directions that the show could go. So, this is just the beginning of what Quantum Leap’s comeback could be if the fans are there, if people like you love the show and support it. We’re very blessed to have the press, who had their own childhood experiences, growing up watching it with their parents and their grandparents and having the opportunity to talk about what happened in time. So, to come back and have those those little morality plays that Quantum Leap can do sometimes, and little glimpses of history from a whole new side experienced through Ben, where we the audience, or Ben, when he steps into someone’s shoes, whether they’re high heels or flats, we get to feel what it feels like for him to to experience being a white female or a black male or a woman. And those are the things that I think will carry us into great storytelling, and then the story threads that are being created and pulled through. They’re going to weave a beautiful tapestry of what this Quantum Leap is and can be. It’s a great time.

Suzanne: I hope that you get your wish, because that would be great to see Quantum Leap go on for quite a while.

Deborah: I’m hoping so too, as well. You know, I’m being very judicious about bringing Ziggy back, letting Ziggy come back, other than doing her job.

Suzanne: Right. All right. Well, it’s nice to talk to the voice of Ziggy.

Deborah: Thank you very much. Thank you. Yeah, it was it’s it was really fun to create it to, to write that dialogue that people hear and get chills, because it brings back so many natural memories.

Suzanne: Right, right. Well, I appreciate you talking to me today. And I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Deborah: Thank you so very much. I am grateful for you and what you’re doing.

Quantum Leap

Season Premiere Wednesday, October 4 (8-9pm ET/PT) on NBC. Streaming next day on Peacock.

It’s been nearly 30 years since Dr. Sam Beckett stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator and vanished. Now, a new team, led by physicist Ben Song (Raymond Lee), has been assembled to restart the project in the hope of understanding the mysteries behind the machine and the man who created it.

Everything changes, however, when Ben makes an unauthorized leap into the past, leaving the team behind to solve the mystery of why he did it. At Ben’s side throughout his leaps is Addison (Caitlin Bassett), who appears in the form of a hologram only Ben can see and hear. She’s a decorated Army veteran who brings level-headed precision to her job.

At the helm of the highly confidential operation is Herbert “Magic” Williams (Ernie Hudson), a no-nonsense career military man who has to answer to his bosses who won’t be happy once they learn about the breach of protocol. The rest of the team at headquarters includes Ian Wright (Mason Alexander Park), who runs the Artificial Intelligence unit “Ziggy,” and Jenn Chu (Nanrisa Lee), who heads up digital security for the project.

As Ben leaps from life to life, putting right what once went wrong, it becomes clear that he and the team are on a thrilling journey. However, Addison, Magic, Ian and Jenn know that if they are going to solve the mystery of Ben’s leaps and bring him home, they must act fast or lose him forever.

At the police station, Shawn was on the phone with Belle. Jada overheard him say he wanted to get his life back together and be a better husband to Belle. They made plans to go out to dinner. When he got off the phone, he was surprised to see Jada. He told her he thought she was in London with Rafe. She said she came back because Rafe thought one of them should be in Salem. Shawn wanted to catch her up with what was going on, but she didn’t want him to. She said they needed to talk about him sleeping with her sister first. They went to the interrogation room so they could talk. Shawn asked how she found out. She said she talked to Eric and figured it out. She said he had to get it together and stop hurting people especially his wife. He apologized for what he has done. She asked if he was going to tell Belle the truth. He said he wasn’t sure if he should. She got a message about a shooting at the DiMera mansion. She said he had to go. He offered to go with her, but she didn’t want him to go. He said they were partners and needed to work together. She ended up letting him go with her. Talia went to see Marlena. She told Marlena that she should find another therapist. Marlena asked if she wasn’t getting help with their sessions. Talia said she wasn’t the problem. Marlena asked if it was because they were colleagues. Talia said that was the reason. Marlena said she has treated colleagues before. She said she understood if it was an issue. She said she wondered what effect it would have on her court order. Talia decided to stay with her. Marlena wanted her to talk. Talia told her about her job and Chanel breaking up with her. She told her she slept with a married man. She told her how it happened. She said she felt bad about it. Belle came in and offered to come back. Talia said she had to work. Belle apologized for interrupting. Marlena said she was going to reach out to her to find out how things were going with Shawn. Belle said that was why she was there.

Belle told Marlena about her fight with Shawn. She said Shawn spent the night at the pub. Marlena remembered what Talia said and realized Shawn was the man she slept with. Belle said she and Shawn turned a corner. Marlena told her to be cautious. When Belle left, Marlena called Talia back to her office to confront her about sleeping with Shawn. Leo tried to tell Gwen that he wasn’t with Dimitri. She said she saw them going at it at Greenland. She told him to lie to her again. He admitted to sleeping with him. She punched him. He said he deserved the punch and the pie in the face. He said he never meant to hurt her. She said she didn’t understand how he ended up sleeping with Dimitri when they hated each other. Leo told her what happened. She said she knows about the codicil. He said he was shocked that Dimitri was gay and attracted to him. She said it worked because he screwed them both. She said she was hurt that Leo betrayed her. He said it was hard for him. He tried to defend Dimitri to her. She said they thought she was stupid. She said Leo didn’t care about her. He said that wasn’t true. He said he loved Dimitri. She said she hoped their love was real because it was going to be all they had. She said she was going to get the money with Kristen’s help. She showed him the check from the money she withdrew. She said Dimitri was lucky that was all she took. He asked what she meant by that. She said Kristen wanted to kill Dimitri. He was shocked that Kristen would go that far. She said Dimitri was lucky she intervened. She said she was divorcing Dimitri. She said he was going to lose his inheritance. He got a call from the hospital and told him Dimitri got shot. He said he would be right there. He told her he knew she was behind what happened. He said he was going to make her pay if he died. Stefan and Gabi tried to stop Dimitri from killing them. Dimitri was determined to shoot them. When a gunshot went off, they thought it was them. It turned out that Vivian shot Dimitri. She asked if Stefan was alright. He thanked her. He went to check on Dimitri. He wanted to call for help. Gabi said they should let him die. Vivian agreed with her. Stefan said they needed to get him help so they could get his shares. Gabi told Dimitri they were going to let him bleed out if he didn’t sign over his shares to Stefan. Dimitri agreed to do it. Recap written by Michele and Cheryl

Shawn saw Jada and he wanted to know if they were good. She warned him to get his act together. He felt like things were awkward and asked her not to say anything about what happened. She promised not to tell that he slept with her sister. They didn’t know that Belle was standing in the doorway. She let Jada know that she just told her. Shawn wondered why she was there, and she told him that she was there to surprise him. She let him know that she lost her appetite now. She was glad that she heard the truth. She wondered if Shawn was ever going to tell her what he did. Jada let her know that no one else knew about it. She said that Talia felt bad about what happened. She left them alone to talk. He was about to explain when she slapped him. He acknowledged that he deserved it. She couldn’t believe that he cheated on her. He told her that he didn’t tell the truth because it would hurt more than the lie. She didn’t think he would ever cheat on her, but she knew their relationship was a lie. She thought he was paying her back for being with Philip and EJ. He said that wasn’t true. He felt like she should forgive him since he forgave her. He will do anything to get her forgiveness. He pleaded with her to tell him what he needed to do to get her forgiveness. She said he couldn’t do anything. She wanted to leave, and he offered to go with her. She didn’t want to go anywhere with him. She wanted him to leave her alone. Marlena confronted Talia about sleeping with Shawn. Talia tried to deny it, but she didn’t believe her. Marlena reminded her that she was supposed to be honest with her, and she confessed to being with Shawn. Talia wanted to know how she found out. Marlena told her that she figured it out. Talia apologized for what happened. She was ashamed of what she did. She asked Marlena not to say anything. Marlena didn’t want to keep it a secret, but she couldn’t say anything because of doctor-patient confidentiality. Talia didn’t think it was a good idea for her to keep seeing her and Marlena agreed. She left her office and ran into Jada. They talked about Shawn. Talia defended Shawn, but Jada thought he took advantage of her. Talia said they took advantage of each other. She hoped that Jada didn’t look at her differently. Jada loved her regardless. Belle was at the hospital and ran into Talia. Talia tried to apologize to her, but she didn’t want to hear it. Belle went to Marlena’s office. She knew that Belle was upset. She told her that Shawn cheated on her. She broke down and started crying.

Harris and Ava woke up and realized that Edmund drugged their tea. Ava wondered if she imagined Edmund saying that he had Susan tied up there. They realized they were chained up. Susan came out and was happy that Ava found her. Ava was happy that she was alive. Susan blamed her for her situation. Ava told her about her mental breakdown. Harris caught Susan up on what was going on with EJ. He wanted her to tell them everything she knew about Edmund. Edmund walked through the door. He tried to give them food, but Harris thought it was poisoned. Edmund let him know that he didn’t have to poison them now that he has them where he wanted them. Edmund told them how he ended up with Susan. Edmund nursed her back to health, but she only wanted Roger. She appreciated what he did for her, but she loved Roger. While they were talking, Edmund found out that Ava tried to kill Susan. He wanted to get rid of Ava and Harris since they weren’t good people. Rafe and Tripp saw each other at Ava and Harris’ hotel room. Rafe thought he was trying to tip Ava off. He said he was worried about his mother. They worked together to find Ava and Harris. They arrived at Edmund’s place. Rafe showed him Ava and Harris’ pictures. Edmund said he recognized Ava as the one who killed Susan. He didn’t think she deserved to be free or alive. He told him that some people believe that Susan was alive.

Audra: You know, I actually think she was impressed, I stood my ground. She even offered to be my mentor.

Tucker: That’s rich.

Audra: Yes, it is.

Tucker: I’d stay away from that.

Audra: Um, I– I think she meant it.

Tucker: No, she didn’t mean it. What she meant to do was flatter you and therefore, control you. Now, you would do well to maintain a respectable distance from Nikki’s mentorship. The good news, however, is that you wouldn’t have to worry about either pleasing or upsetting her if you are still interested in, uh, changing trains and joining me on the jabot express.

*************************

Audra: You know, I have to hand it to you, Tucker. Only you would actually believe you could take jabot away from the Abbotts and make it sound easy.

Tucker: It’s more than a belief. It’s a certainty.

Audra: Hm. How so, evil genius?

Tucker: Yeah, you mock. I’m serious as a rattlesnake.

Audra: It was a compliment.

Tucker: Ah, thank you. So, I have put in motion a plan to raise suspicion that Billy Abbott has been embezzling from Jabot.

Audra: How did you manage that?

Tucker: Uh, details are boring.

Audra: Jack and Billy aren’t that stupid, okay? They’re gonna know right away that you’re behind this.

Tucker: Good. Let’ em. That’s exactly what I want ’em to think.

Billy: Look, Phyllis… I think you’re scared. You owe a lot of money and your usual sources are all dried up, and when your back’s against the wall, you start to get desperate and you make bad choices.

Phyllis: Oh.

Billy: Like getting involved with tucker McCall.

Phyllis: Mm. Wow. Listen to you. All of that from one itty bit of a phone call you overheard. Wow, you should be a fortune teller. I hear there’s a carnival leaving town.

Billy: You haven’t answered my question.

Phyllis: What’s the question?

Billy: You and tucker.

Phyllis: But why would you think I’d be involved with tucker McCall again?

Billy: I’ve seen the two of you together more than a few times. The vibe I get is that the two of you are cooking something up that’s a little south of legal.

Phyllis: Ooh, maybe we’re having an affair.

Billy: You have a better taste than that.

***********************

Phyllis: Uh, yeah, we’re finished here, there’s nothing more to discuss.

Tucker: Not even your daughter?

Phyllis: My daughter has no part in this.

Tucker: Well, in this, that’s right, that’s right. But she is eventually, going to need a job, is she not?

Phyllis: She has a job.

Tucker: What do you mean? Marchetti? Here’s the thing about that. Uh… [ Clears throat ] When I take over jabot, and I will take over jabot, make no mistake, I’m gonna streamline it, I’m gonna get back to basics, you know. The cosmetics and scents and all that crap. I just don’t see a place for fashion.

Phyllis: You’re not gonna do that.

Tucker: Watch me.

Phyllis: I’m gonna warn jack. I’m gonna tell him everything you’ve done.

Tucker: No, you won’t, ’cause you know all the dominoes that would fall if you did. You know your role in this little operation. If I go down, you go down. And considering your recent history with the law, your downfall might be a little more permanent.

Phyllis: Wow. You think you have it all worked out, don’t you?

Tucker: You’re good at the game Phyllis, but I’m better. You watch your step from now on. And I would not make any threats you can’t back up. And by the way, the money I transferred will not include your 20% aggravation fee. You should consider yourself lucky I’m not charging you the same fee, for all the aggravation you’ve caused me.

Jack: Mamie, I could not be happier to have you back in town. Why didn’t you tell us you were coming?

Mamie: Oh, and deprive myself of the joy that I get from seeing that look of surprise on your face, Jackie? No, no. You have the best reactions of anyone that I know.

Jack: Oh, Mamie

[ Mamie laughs ]

Mamie: And it never gets old. Your father and I used to just have so much fun just watching you open the presents. Either it be on Christmas, on your birthday, just genuine delight. And awe. And now, I get to see that look on your face every time I show up at your door. Oh, I just love it! I love it.

Traci: But if you told us, we could have got your room ready, and we could have planned a– a special dinner party, maybe, um, invited over your grand niece and nephew.

Mamie: No, see, no, that’s exactly why I like to show up unexpectedly. I don’t like all this fuss.

Jack: Mamie.

Mamie: Well, look, I’m so happy that I was able to surprise you. I’m glad that we’ve had this time together, but truth be told, this reunion is not really the only reason why I’m in town.

****************

Adam: Dad, when– when I said I wanna start from the bottom and I wanna earn my way to a higher position, this is not what I had in mind.

Victor: Son, I don’t think you and I agreed that you could choose your own starting point.

Adam: Dad, I– I thought we would be working together. You know, father and son.

Victor: Didn’t you tell me that you wanted to learn the ropes?

Adam: Yeah, not from someone who’s been in business less time than I was in business school.

Victor: This entire rebirth notion is yours. You said you wanted a chance to prove that you could change. You get your chance now.

Adam: It’s another test. That’s what this is?

Victor: Everything is a test. Every minute of every day is a test.

Adam: Good morning, Jack. Hey, congratulations, by the way. I heard you and Diane got married.

Jack: Well, thank you. I appreciate that. We haven’t had too many well-wishers.

Adam: Well, I wish you both all the best.

Jack: I appreciate that, and I hope you know i want the best for you as well.

Adam: From your tone, I’m guessing you’ve heard the best is not what I’m getting, lately. But yes, you’re– you’re right. Things have been a little rough since I’ve been fired from Newman.

Jack: Yeah, I imagine that was quite a blow.

Adam: But hey, I will survive, right?

Jack: I have no doubt at all. So, thank you for meeting me today.

Adam: Yeah, I– I wasn’t surprised to hear from you. I heard Billy tapped you as chief negotiator.

Jack: No, actually, I wanted to meet with you, to talk about tucker and whatever dirt you might have on him.

Adam: Yeah, ’cause you and i have a better relationship than I have with Billy.

Jack: I would call it less explosive.

Adam: Yeah, that’s true.

Jack: So, tell me, what have you got? I’m interested.

Adam: Well, how interested are you?

Jack: Enough to pay for it. Within reason.

*******************

Jack: We’re both busy men. Who has time for games?

Adam: I agree. You know, Billy was pushing me for a straight answer last time and I shut him down.

Jack: Well, it’s me now. What have you got?

Adam: I’ve been thinking about what I would want in return and to tell you the truth, you or Billy, at the moment, you don’t have anything that benefits me.

Jack: You’re not maybe looking for a little leverage?

Adam: No, in the past I probably would have tried to weasel a job out of this. I mean, I am technically unemployed at the moment.

Jack: I already offered you a job.

Adam: Yeah, that’s true. And if I was gonna make a play for something, I probably would go for Billy’s job, co-CEO.

Jack: The position you had before and walked away from.

Adam: Yes, the irony is not lost on me.

Adam: Look, I’ve made a big deal about how I wanna live differently, without all the games. I want to get back to the basics. I wanna put in the work that it requires, okay? This is me walking the walk or at least trying to.

Sally: By telling me that you can’t stop thinking about kissing me.

Adam: Right, look, if I had pretended like it didn’t affect me, that wouldn’t fly. All right, you know me too well. It would be an act that you’d see right through. And if I said nothing about it, you would have been worried what’s really going on inside my head.

Sally: I– I– I think you’re overthinking this.

Adam: Look, when I tell people that I’m determined to live in a more authentic way, everybody gets suspicious or they just immediately dismiss the idea, or they laugh. Okay? Nobody believes it.

Sally: Since when do you care what other people think?

Adam: See, that is the point. If I’m really gonna make this change, I have to stay on track and I have to ignore those reactions. Like the one you just had.

Sally: I didn’t laugh or dismiss you.

Adam: Yeah, you kinda did. You assumed that I was putting on a front instead of just telling you the simple truth. I loved kissing you again and how it felt. It reminded me how good we are together. And for a moment there, I thought you may have been reminded as well.

*******************

Billy: You know, Jack, I think you’re right. I don’t think things are working out for me here at Jabot. I should take my energy somewhere else.

Jack: You would not be that petty.

Billy: Tell that to the aggrieved, competitive little brother.

Recap written by Suzanne

Taylor drops by Forrester to see Ridge and Brooke before leaving town again. They discuss the kids again for a minute. Ridge promises to let Taylor know if anything further happens with Thomas. Later, Ridge complains again to Brooke about Eric insisting on doing his grand finale collection.

Eric is at Forrester with Luna and RJ, talking about his designs. When she asks him to sign something for Carter, he
has trouble holding the pen, so he gets annoyed at yells that he’s Eric Forrester (meaning that he doesn’t have to sign it). Then he leaves. RJ is upset and apologizes to Luna. He explains to her that he thinks something more is wrong with Eric than just arthritis. He wishes he could tell his dad about it. He also confides to her that he never wanted to be in the family business. Luna is impressed by how devoted he is to his grandfather.

Katie drops by the Forrester house to visit Donna. She admires Eric’s designs but wonders if they’re enough to beat Ridge’s. Donna remarks that Eric acts like his life depends on the collection, which strikes Katie as odd. Eric returns home, so Katie leaves. Donna can tell that Eric is upset, so he explains about what happened at the office. Eric’s doctor visits to tell him about his condition.

Kyle: Hey, you’re home early.

Diane: Hi. Yeah, I just had some reading to catch up on, so I thought I’d finish my work day here. Plus, harrison should be back soon, so I thought it’d be fun if we played outside together before dark.

Kyle: Ah, I love that.

Diane: Yeah. But you know what? I can read later if you have time now.

Kyle: Time for what?

Diane: Oh, I don’t know. To sit and talk. I haven’t seen much of you in the last couple of days. So, how have you been keeping busy? Networking, I assume. Maybe polishing your resume? Um, any exciting job leads?

Kyle: Nope.

Diane: You know, your father and I are still hoping you’ll come back to jabot.

Kyle: Mom–

Diane: I know, I know, I know you’re only interested in retaking the co-ceo position. Nothing less.

Kyle: Dad said replacing billy wasn’t outside the realm of possibility.

Diane: Right. And it seemed like he was about to get rid of billy and bring you back, and then somehow billy talked his way into staying.

Kyle: Of course, he did.

Diane: Yeah. Billy feeds jack’s darker impulses. And I’ve told your father that I don’t think it’s a good idea for the two of them to be working so closely together.

Kyle: Mom, you don’t have to push so hard. If I’m still out and billy’s back in, so be it.

Diane: Is it wrong of me to enjoy working with my son?

Kyle: No, but I don’t want dad to give me my old job back just because you badgered him into it.

Billy: Hey, how’d the marketing meeting go?

Jack: Uh, the agency pitched a few taglines for this new fragrance we’re marketing, some of them were promising. Uh, I’ll keep you up to speed on all of that. Right now, I’m more interested in any updates you can give me.

Billy: I talked to tucker.

Jack: Great. And?

Billy: I told him we know about the singer, we know about the cover-up and how bad this is for him. And that we will not hesitate to use the information if he does not back off.

Jack: And? How did he react?

Billy: Nonchalant, as usual as if he can zen his way out of trouble.

Jack: I’m not buying it. Are you?

Billy: Nope. He’s in total panic.

Nikki: Well, that was a very productive lunch.

Audra: Agreed. And I’m ready to hit the ground running on those items we discussed.

Nikki: And I have a new assistant.

Audra: Yes, I’m glad you think claire will be a good addition to the team.

Tucker: Audra. Hi. Excuse me. I need to talk to you now, in private.

Audra: I can’t right now, tucker. Sorry.

Adam: Pops.

Victor: Hey, son. What brings you by?

Adam: Uh, I just was following up on something.

Victor: Mm-hmm. Something for nate?

Adam: No, not for my new boss. Earlier when you were so jovial when you said everything was falling in place with the family, that was all bs, right?

Victor: Have you ever known me to say anything I don’t mean?

Adam: You’re not sure that I can be trusted, especially when it comes to victoria, right? When– when are you gonna see that? I am not the one that you should be worried about.

Nick: Adam kissed you? When? How? Did he take advantage of you? I swear to god, I’m gonna rip his head off. (Husband) leftovers again? I am in love with mixtiles. Sally: Look, I didn’t mean to blurt it out like that. It really wasn’t a big deal.

Nick: Not a big deal? My brother kissing my girlfriend’s not a big deal?

Sally: Okay. We had dinner together. It was a spontaneous spur-of-the-moment thing. We ran into each other at the athletic club, we both needed to eat. Seemed like a good idea at the time. It was just a friendly, innocent dinner, celebrating new beginnings and his reset at newman. My new venture.

Nick: Okay.

Sally: We probably had a little too much to drink and adam– adam asked to walk me back to my suite after dinner. I agreed.

Nick: And then he kissed you?

Sally: Yeah, he– he kissed me good night, but he instantly regretted it and he said he was sorry.

Nick: I highly doubt my brother regretted anything. He took advantage of the fact that I was gone.

Sally: No, no.

Nick: Hey, nick’s out of town. Let me real quick try and seduce sally and see if I can convince her to dump him and get back with me.

Sally: No, nick, that’s not what happened.

Nick: That is exactly what happened. This is how my brother operates. It’s who he is.

Sally: He really did seem to feel bad afterward.

Nick: I highly doubt that. So what? He kissed you, then what?

Sally: What? What– what do you mean?

Nick: What did he say? Did he say anything else? Like uh, that he still loved you or he thought the two of you still belonged together?

Victor: I assume you’re implying that I should be worried about your sister?

Adam: Yes. I mean, that was– that was quite an act she put on earlier. Suddenly pleasant and rational. No issues at all. I mean, you saw right through that, right?

Victor: You know I’m not worried about anyone. Not your sister, not nate, not you.

Adam: Well, then you are not looking closely enough.

Victor: I run this damn place. If any problem should raise its ugly head, I’ll excise it.

Adam: Gonna nip it?

Victor: Anyone who is disloyal to me or to newman enterprises.

Victoria: All right. Let’s hear it. What happened with my father after I left?

Nate: I am pleased to report, victor seems wary of adam’s alleged turnaround.

Victoria: Well, thank god. I mean, I was starting to think that dad was buying into it by the way he was acting.

Nate: Yeah. I– I thought so too. He was being very positive about the new situation.

Victoria: Well, yeah. My dad is not much of a cheerleader. He doesn’t get giddy about teamwork. That’s just another reason that I’m starting to think something’s off. So, what did he say, specifically?

Nate: Victor’s skeptical of adam’s seeming willingness to start at the bottom and do as he’s told.

Victoria: I’m really happy to hear that. I mean, that’s good news that my father doesn’t trust adam any more than we do.

Nate: Yeah. Yeah. I was really worried your father was buying into adam’s contrition. Believing he had undergone some kind of miracle transformation. Fortunately, that doesn’t appear to be the case.

Victoria: Oh, what a relief.

Nate: Victor does think that things are falling into place a little too easily for there not to be red flags. But victoria, it is not just adam victor doubts. He was referring to your apparent turnaround as well.

Victoria: Oh, really?

Nate: Well, he told me you claim to have accepted the recent moves. Him back in the ceo chair, you in the number two slot and your mother at newman media. And that you were willing to give adam a chance.

Victoria: Claimed. So, my dad doesn’t believe that I’m sincere?

Nate: He says he wants to believe you, but you were pretty angry just a few days ago. Given that, it’s not a surprise your father is a little suspicious, right? Were you being honest with what you said? Are you really okay with your father’s plans for newman enterprises and where that leaves you? Imagine if you could get ahead of your ibs-C…

Diane: Okay. I am not going to pressure jack on your behalf. Does– does that even sound like me? All right. I can be determined when I want something. But you know as well as I do that jack wants you back at jabot.

Kyle: If you say so.

Diane: Would you reconsider some other executive spot like you were offered when you left marchetti?

Kyle: You make it sound like I willingly walked away. Dad essentially fired me. He considered summer more valuable to the company than me.

Diane: That’s not true.

Kyle: Mom, come on.

Diane: All right. I’m sure we could find something in the company that you would enjoy. An interim position.

Kyle: Interim to what?

Diane: All right. You didn’t hear it from me, but billy is going to be out. Again. Soon. I know that sounds cold, but history has a way of repeating itself.

Kyle: No, you’re not cold, you’re a realist and I suspect you could be right. At least I hope so. I mean, I worry about the harm billy could cost jabot as ashley was worried about you.

Billy: So, did you talk to phyllis?

Jack: Oh, yeah. Read her the riot act for teaming up with tucker and coming after us. After jabot. I also made it clear to her, he is going to try to create a rift between us. And if she helps him, well, so much for her claims that she is trying to turn her life around and be a better person.

Billy: So, she admitted to working with tucker?

Jack: She didn’t admit to anything, but it’s phyllis. I know her. She is covering. I also made it clear to her she’d go a long way toward redeeming herself if she could help us figure out what tucker is planning.

Billy: Jack, we can’t trust her.

Jack: I don’t, but it’s pretty clear to me, she desperately wants the people she cares about to trust her. She wants redemption, billy. And she was willing to do anything she can to get it.

Billy: So, you’re hoping she comes over to the good guys side?

Jack: Well, we’ll see how that goes. In the meantime, hopefully, your little meeting with tucker will dissuade him from coming after us and we won’t need phyllis at all.

Billy: But if not…

Jack: If not, phyllis may be just the weapon we need.

Audra: How am I supposed to know how to respond when I have no idea what you’re talking about?

Tucker: A singer signed to the mccall label who, it turned out, was getting involved with underage girls on the road. Ringing any bells? He went to jail for statutory rape when the tour was finished.

Audra: Yeah, because the pr department decided to cover it up. Yes, I– I remember.

Tucker: Yeah. And do you remember that I asked you to clean up this mess so it would not come back to haunt us? I fired everyone on that pr team and told you to take care of the rest.

Audra: I did take care of it. I– I deleted all the information relating to that decision.

Tucker: And then decided it was a good idea to email me the progress. Emails I never got because they went to my junk mail.

Audra: Okay. So what? Okay, tucker, that was years ago and– and didn’t you wipe the system when you sold the company?

Tucker: Of course, I did, audra, but apparently the junk mail remained on one of the servers, and guess who has found it? Adam freakin’ newman.

Audra: How?

Tucker: How do you think? He is in charge of the company now, is he not? He has access to everything. Does he not?

Audra: I know that, okay? What does this all mean exactly?

Tucker: Well, he needed some leverage over me, so he went digging until he found it.

Audra: And you believe him?

Tucker: See if this sounds familiar. “Singer problem remedied. Hands clean.” You got careless and now you’ve put us both in jeopardy. And now you’re gonna fix it.

Audra: If this is about the mccall issue, kyle’s up to speed. Besides the threat has been neutralized. So, uh, this is over.

Tucker: You’ll forgive me if I’m gonna need a little more than just your say so.

Kyle: That should be enough.

Tucker: Who the hell’s talking to you?

Audra: If I’m not worried about it, tucker, you shouldn’t be either, okay? You can go check in with adam if you want. But as far as we’re concerned, this is over.

Tucker: My whole world is a celebration, everything. It’s just everything’s coming up roses. You on the other hand…

Adam: You know, I still have those emails. So, maybe I will let that evidence slip out just to wipe that smile off your face.

Tucker: I don’t think you’d be that foolish.

Adam: You think? I mean, I’m a screw up and I always will be, right?

Tucker: Yeah. No, no, no, no.

Billy: And stick with me, okay? Because we’re gonna go down memory lane a little bit. Back to a time when you and audra were running the mccall record label. Remember that? There was an artist of yours that had a thing for underage girls.

Tucker: Hm.

Billy: Yeah, you must have thought that you buried all the evidence, huh? All those emails back and forth between you and audra. Talking about how you were gonna cover it all up to save your ass. Guess who’s got those emails now, tucker? I do. And I’m gonna use them to crush you unless you back off.

Adam: Okay, you have my attention. What is it that I’m going to regret?

Tucker: You were supposed to destroy evidence of a certain problem at mccall. And what you did instead was sell that evidence to the highest bidder.

Adam: I– I don’t have any idea what you’re talking about. I did destroy the evidence. Maybe somebody made copies. Audra? Perhaps you can’t trust her as much as you–

Tucker: No, it was you, adam.

Adam: Hm. Just out of curiosity who is the uh, highest bidder that you mentioned?

Tucker: Billy.

Adam: Billy abbott? Really? Oh, it’s– it’s fascinating. So, what is he using the, uh, singer’s misdeeds as leverage? And the timing doesn’t make sense. I mean, what could you have that he would want so badly? Family is just very important.

Tucker: You know, adam, I was perfectly content just letting you live your life. I was gonna forget about your attempts to blackmail me. And using phyllis to undercut my plans.

Adam: Again, tucker, I don’t have any idea what you’re–

Tucker: Shut up. It’s been a long time since you and I were friends, but now, you’ve made me your enemy. I hope you understand what a monumental mistake that is.

Victoria: I am going along with my father’s wishes. At least for now.

Nate: Mm-hmm. For now.

Victoria: Well, are you doing what he wants you to do? Becoming adam’s best friend?

Nate: Adam is my assistant and I will treat him as such. Like I told you, I don’t plan to give him anything beyond menial tasks. I’m not about to trust him with anything he can use to hurt the company. And I have no plans to cultivate a relationship outside the office. Adam is aware. He claims he’s determined to earn my trust, which we both know is not going to happen.

Victoria: Adam’s lies are so predictable. So, my father didn’t ask you to do anything? He didn’t ask you to suss me out and see what my true feelings were so you could report back to him?

Nate: Of course not. He seems to want my focus on adam.

Victoria: Well, I still think that he’s trying to pull you over to his side and enlist you as an ally in case I decide to rebel.

Nate: To what end? Does he think I can talk you down, diffuse any tension?

Victoria: My father likes loyalty.

Nate: Okay. Victoria, I am always on your side, and you know that. The only reason I’m supporting your father is because I’m trying to protect you. So, if I have to be the buffer between the two of you for things to run smoothly at newman, so be it. But again, I have to ask, is victor’s concern valid? Are you playing games or did you mean it when you accepted your demotion without a fight?

Victoria: I meant it, nate, 100%.

Sally: Nick, don’t make too much out of this, okay? It didn’t mean anything to me.

Nick: But it meant everything to him.

Sally: Okay. He kissed me. I didn’T…

Nick: How did you feel afterward?

Adam: I’m sorry. That was, um– that was a mistake.

Sally: Yeah. Yeah, yeah, it was.

Adam: Well, in my defense. Um, it wasn’t me that kissed you. It was my um, champagne brain. Would you, uh, mind if we just pretend like that never happened?

Sally: Pretend what never happened? I– I don’t know what what you’re talking about.

Adam: Thank you. Goodnight.

Sally: You’re welcome. And, yeah, good night.

Nick: Sally, there’s no judgment here, okay? I’m not mad at you, I promise. But I need to know everything, no matter what. Just be honest.

It’s hard to just see how much pain he’s in. Still being in love with me and knowing that I’m with you.

Nick: So, there is a part of you that is still in love with him? You didn’t live this strong,

Announcer: The young and the restless will continue.

[ Sally sighs ]

Sally: I don’t know how to answer that, nick.

Nick: Meaning you are still in love with him.

Sally: No, no, I did not say that. I did not say that. It’s not black and white. It– it’s like you and sharon. You know, just because the relationship is over and– and– and over for years, does not mean that all the feelings just disappear.

Nick: Sally, it’s not the same thing, all right? It’s not even close. You still have feelings for adam. It’s why you haven’t been able to take that next emotional step with me. Why you have never been able to completely let him go.

Sally: No, I have let him go. I have. I– I’ve cut emotional ties and romantic ties. We’re just friends. Really. That’s it. We’re friends.

Nick: I wish that were true. I really do. But you’re either lying to yourself or you’re not admitting the truth. Adam has a hold on you. Maybe he always will.

Sally: Look, nick, please. Okay. We are in such a good place and I really love what we have together. I– I don’t want to feel this way, okay? I– I– I don’t want to feel confused and– and mixed up. If– if I could straighten out my jumbled-up emotions right now, I would. But you asked me and this is where I’m at. But it doesn’t mean that I care about you any less. Just please tell me I haven’t screwed this up.

[ Sally sighs ]

Nate: All right then. You tell me you’re sincere, I believe you. And it really is for the best if you’re on good terms with your father right now. Don’t you think?

Victoria: Yes, I agree. I mean, I can tell my father over and over again that returning to newman and running the company day to day is a colossal mistake, but until he’s ready to hear it, it’s not gonna mean anything. I think that keeping the peace is in my best interest long term.

Nate: And you really believe your father in the ceo chair is a serious misstep? Your demotion aside.

Victoria: Absolutely. The fact that he brought adam back inside the company? I mean, it’s just more proof to me that he’s having some serious errors in his judgment.

Nate: Okay. But there’s nothing you can do about that.

Victoria: No, not right now. But you and I, we both put adam on notice and reminded him that you are his boss. You’re gonna be keeping a close eye on him and you’re gonna be on top of him in a heartbeat if he tries anything.

Nate: That’s not gonna stop him.

Victoria: No, obviously not. I mean, eventually, adam is going to try to make some sort of move that’s gonna benefit him. And it’s going to be detrimental for the company. Unfortunately, that might be what it takes to get my father to the breaking point.

Diane: I am jabot’s chief talent officer, you know. Let me find a position for you that will suit your enormous talents.

Kyle: Mm, no thanks, mom.

Diane: Kyle, being back at jabot will show your father that you still want to be part of the family business. And then when billy screws up, which he will do, you will be able to step back in.

Kyle: All right. It sounds good in theory. But what if, by chance, billy doesn’t screw up and dad doesn’t want to replace him? What then?

Diane: Then you’ll still have a good job at jabot instead of spending your days doing whatever it is you’ve been doing.

Kyle: No, I– I can’t go backward. I have already proven myself as a leader. I would rather hang out with harrison every day and live a happy carefree life than be stuck in the middle with nowhere to go, forever in my father’s shadow.

Jack: Kyle.

Kyle: Hey, dad. Billy.

Billy: Hey. I’m sorry to hear about newman media.

Kyle: Yeah.

Billy: What’s the plan next?

Kyle: I’m not sure. Mom and i were just discussing options.

Diane: And I’m sure my brilliant son will have a slew of companies who want to hire him.

Jack: I hope you know we would all be very happy to have you return to jabot.

Kyle: I know. We’ll see. Excuse me.

Billy: See you.

Jack: Is he okay?

Victoria: When you demoted me, I know I fought you on it. It just– my feelings were hurt because my position had just been stripped away from me and I– I mean, I took it so personally.

Victor: It was a business decision.

Victoria: I see that now. I’ve put aside my anger and I’m willing to let go of these feelings that I have about adam. I know that this company is stronger than he is. I know it can survive anything.

Victor: I’m very glad you feel that way again. Because I was beginning to feel that our relationship was becoming untenable.

Victoria: Well, what would you have done if that had been the case?

Victor: I would have fired you. And should it get to that point again? I still might.

Nikki: Hello, darling.

Victor: Hi, my sweetheart.

Nikki: Mwah. Mwah.

Victor: That’s what I need. Midday kisses from my baby.

Nikki: Yes.

Victor: How’s your day?

Nikki: Great. I just hired a new assistant. And she’s a lovely young woman who I think will be a great asset to newman media. You’ll meet her soon.

Victor: Wonderful.

Nikki: Now, how about you? Have you talked to victoria?

Victor: Yeah. Victoria came by earlier and we had an interesting conversation. She had a change of heart. She says she’s going to try working within the new corporate structure.

Nikki: And you believe her?

Victor: Let’s say hope springs eternal.

Nikki: Well, I’m still not sure about her working with adam. I just cannot see that working, especially with him in a subordinate position.

Victor: Yeah, you have said that before. And I understand your concerns. But, let me ask you something. Is that all you’re worried about? Or are you really concerned about my resuming the full-time job here?

Nikki: Would it make any difference if I said yes?

Adam: Well, hello, you two. Your guys’ new ventures must be doing well if you got time for a romantic picnic in the park in the middle of a workday.

Nick: You better keep walking. I don’t want to hear a word from you.

Adam: Okay, nick, I really wish you could just let go of what happened at mccall-kirsten.

Nick: I’m not in the mood to let anything you do go, adam. Wowwww…

Nikki: I know you think that,

Victor: Sweetheart, this is the best place for me to be right now. That’s it.

Nikki: I know you think that, but the long hours and the stress, I– I just worry about the toll it will take on you. Now, remember I wanted you to go on a lovely relaxing trip with me before you jumped back into the fray, but you shot me down.

Victor: Baby, where does this come from? Don’t I look healthy?

Nikki: You look very healthy and quite handsome, I might add. But, you and I should not be taking on any unnecessary stress. You know this. My ms and the health issues that you have battled. I am determined to take care of you just like you have taken care of me all these years.

Victor: I know you have always taken care of me, okay?

Nikki: I want you to be with me for a very long time.

Victor: And I want you to be with me for the rest of our lives. But sweetheart, I feel good around here, you know. I love the stress of this place, wheeling and dealing and international calls and straightening things out. And besides that, I’d be with my children. I see more of them here than I would see them sitting on my ass at the ranch. Man of leisure.

Nikki: Oh, I’m sorry. When have you ever been a man of leisure?

Victor: Well, but that’s exactly what I’m saying.

Nikki: Well, you’re right about working with your children. I mean, you will get to watch them go at each other’s throats daily. Where is the joy in that?

Victor: That is gonna stop, okay? That is going to stop as of now. That infighting will come to an end. And I’ll remind them of what they’re here for, what they’re working for. That is the family empire that I’ve built for them.

Nikki: Hm.

Victor: Yeah.

Nikki: So you will be bringing harmony and unity.

Victor: Yes.

Nikki: To adam and victoria. Do you really think that’s possible?

Victor: I’m going to whip them and the company into shape. To the point where nicholas will say, “hm. I think I’m gonna rejoin newman enterprises.”

Adam: I thought that we put our failed partnership behind us. I mean, you’re moving on, you’re working with sharon and I am humbling myself at newman.

Nick: It’s not about that and you know it.

Adam: Okay, I feel like I am missing something.

Nick: You bring trouble to everything and everyone. So how about this? You stay away from everyone I care about from now on.

Sally: Adam. Really, you should just go, please.

Adam: You told him, didn’t you?

Jack: I’m sorry about that.

Billy: It’s okay. So, I’m gonna take off but, uh, let me know if you hear from phyllis, please.

Jack: Will do.

Billy: Okay. Bye bye.

Diane: Bye. Jack, why are you the one dealing with phyllis in all of this?

Jack: I promise, I’ll explain that to you–

Diane: No, no, I think we should talk about it right now.

Jack: I think we need to focus on kyle right now. Why would you say he’s not okay? Should we be concerned?

Diane: I, yeah, I think, um, I think our son has lost his purpose. He’s afraid that he’s always going to be stuck in the middle. Those were his words. Forever in his father’s shadow. We need to help him.

Jack: I don’t know what else I can do. I’ve asked him to come back to jabot repeatedly.

Diane: I know, but I think he needs more than that. I mean, kyle needs to know that we value him, you know, not just as our son, but as an important part of the company.

Tucker: I hope your blowing me off was purely for nikki’s sake.

Audra: Of course. I don’t take kindly to the woman continuing to tell me how to live my life, but you know, she’s still my boss. So, it’s better for her to think that I’m heeding her warning about you than be defiant.

Tucker: Smart. We have a bigger problem anyway and you will need to help me solve it.

Audra: Will I? What are you talking about?

Tucker: The damn singer. The evidence that adam got his hands on. The pr team’s cover-up or our cover-up, or their cover-up.

Audra: Wait. How can that be? Adam was supposed to destroy those incriminating emails.

Tucker: Apparently, he decided to go a different route.

Audra: What did he do?

Tucker: He sold it to the abbotts.

Audra: Interesting.

Tucker: Yeah, it’s not the word I would use, but…

Audra: Well, big picture aside, I guess adam has ruined your plans to go after jabot. What are you gonna do now? Kinder bueno. <

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

Marlena: You have a moment? We didn’t have time to finish our session.

Talia: There’s not much more to say. I pretty much told you everything.

Marlena: No, I don’t think you did. You didn’t mention that you had slept with my son-in-law.

Talia: I-I-I don’t-I don’t know what you’re talking about.

Marlena: When we agreed to good start therapy, we discussed the fact that you would be open and honest and forthright. So let me ask you again. You sleep with my son-in-law.

Talia: Yes. I did.

Jada: Here are my notes. Send in the report and I’ll drop off the gun with forensics. Wait for Juda.

Shawn: Um, you and I were good, right?

Jada: Just focus on getting your act together and we’ll see what happens.

Shawn: I will. I will. Until then, if this is-this is awkward to ask you, but, um…

Jada: Don’t worry. I’m not going to tell anyone that you slept with my sister.

Belle: You just did.

Rafe: Hey, Jada. Just calling to check in gives you in the middle of something. Anyway, Ava and Michael still haven’t come back to the hotel room. Local cops got a call out for tips. See if they can turn up anything. All right, give me a call and you get a chance. Bye. Freeze!

Tripp: Don’t shoot, don’t shoot.

Rafe: Tripp. What the hell are you doing here?

Tripp: What do you think? Hey, I’m worried about my mom.

Harris: Ava. Hey.

Ava: Hey, God. Are you all right? Yeah, I am.

I think I am. What happened?

Harris: It was Crumb. Poisoned our tea.

Ava: Oh, God, wait. Am I imagining things or did he say that he had Susan locked up in the back bedroom somewhere?

What in the world?

What do you do? You found me.

Oh, what are you doing here? Oh, well, selling me.

I was going to come surprise my husband and take him to lunch, but after what I just heard, I pretty much lost my appetite. Oh, I was just telling my mom that you and I had turned a corner in our marriage and that the worst was behind us. Well, I am so sorry that you found out this way.

No, don’t be, don’t be.

No, I’m glad I found out. Because you were never going to tell me where you. So tell me, am I the last one to know about this that you are cheating on me with Talia Hunter?

How did you find out?

Belle was just here. She’d been worried. Because her husband didn’t come back after attending his grandfather’s funeral. That he said that he had just had too much to drink, and so he had slept in yours and Jada’s room. And then you came in and said that you had had too much to drink. And you slept with a married man. Not too hard to collect those dots.

I’m so sorry.

So am I.

Worried?

You mean that you wanted to tip her off that I was on her trail? She’s my mom, Rafe. Can’t you understand why I want to help her?

Did you know she was staying here all alone?

No. Oh, well, we knew the names on the fake passports on Wendy was able to track her on Harris down. You got the key to the room, Hal? Just told the people at the front desk that I was her son and they gave it to me. Oh, it’s much for security.

Why did you just knock?

Because I didn’t think my mom would be too happy that I followed her here. Rafe, you’re so brave.

Where is she? Damn to find her. Her and Harris, they left their passports here yesterday. They haven’t been back since.

He did. He thought nothing that you guys were here and that maybe that’s my other stand away?

No. I think they weren’t looking for Susan Banks. Hopefully they didn’t get her in any trouble.

I wasn’t hallucinating you our life. Yeah, no thanks to you. Yeah, I know. I know and this is going to sound really lame. But I wasn’t in my right mind when I drove us off that cliff. You’re right. That does sound lame. I am so relieved to see you.

You made it out alive. Oh, shit.

Who are you? And what are you staring at?

Uh, names Harris Michaels. I’m sorry for staring, but the resemblance between you and your brother, it’s uncanny.

Oh, and how do you know Thomas?

You probably don’t want to know.

Okay. Show. You finally got machine nose and yet here we are all of us chained up. Some rescue mission this turned out to be. Hey, Susan, you know, it could be worse. Harris, here’s the next Navy SEAL. Oh, I take you long enough to find me. Susan, why, why did you send me the signals of all people? Well, because everybody else would have thought I was communicating from the great beyond. And why would they rescue you little old me if I was your god?

Actually, make some sense.

And I’m not an adult system. You would be highly motivated for me. Yeah, because you’re not responsible for a man’s murder if I’m not dead, right?

Yeah, and maybe when your son EJ realizes you’re not dead, he’ll call off his hit he has on Ava. His hit?

Yes. Like a hit hit? Yes, like a hit hit. What’s a hit hit?

He sent someone to baby you to murder me. What?

What are you going to do for real? I’m going to sit so touching. Oh, terrific. I mean, I’m going to slap that boy stilly when I see him.

EJ is the least of our worries right now. We need to get out of here. So tell me everything you know about this guy, Chrome. And why he is that?

Well, well, well. Look who’s finally awake. I’m famished, I’m sure. Oh, dear. Not a fan of kidney pie. Not a fan of being poisoned. Well, that shouldn’t be a concern. No, I have you both where I want you.

Okay, so let me get this straight. Your plan to track down my mom and Harris was to just sit and wait in the hotel room until they get back, even though they might be in trouble. I mean, what have EJ has already gotten to them?

Relax, Trip. Okay, I am working with local officials. I’m going to talk about the equivalent of an APB out on them now. Which, by the way, is the only information that I have to go on? Maybe if you’d have been a little more forthcoming.

Are you serious? You’re going to try to make this my fault.

Well, why did I have to trick you into telling me Ava thought that Susan Banks was alive? Did you not realize that that information could have potentially exonerated your mother? If it’s true? Yes. And if it’s true, EJ will probably call off his hit on her.

Yeah, but you don’t care about exonerating or protecting my mom. Okay, you just want to bring her back to Salem and throw the book out.

I want to bring her back to Bayview so she can get the help she needs. Her name is… Well, that’s great. Yeah, thanks. Yeah, just tell me the name again. Yeah.

Okay. Yeah, come on my way.

None: What was that about?

Was that a me, my mom? Maybe. Come on, dude, you have to tell me. Go home trip. I’ll call you when I find her.

No, I’m not going anywhere. Okay. It wasn’t a suggestion. Either you leave willingly or I’m going to hank off you to the wall for obstructing a police investigation.

Why are you keeping us here? Why are you keeping her here? Susan hasn’t told you.

I thought you’d have told her is on fine now.

Well, I can’t explain what I’d still don’t understand.

Well, it’s perfectly simple, really. When my beloved Susan walked out of my life without any warning whatsoever… No warning!

I saw from the terrible arguments we had every day about how jealous, jealous, jealous and possessive you were…

No cause, no letters. As if she just dropped off the face of the earth. Until…

The newsreeler shared the crushing news that my beloved Susan was dead… Incinerated beyond recognition.

Spoiler alert! I wasn’t dead.

None: Hello?

Who is this? What do you mean Susan’s alive? Well, yes, I’ll do anything if I could see her again. Two men bought her here, half dead. For months I nursed her back to health. Okay, wait, wait a minute.

Who are these men? Who else knows that Susan’s alive?

You’re not serious. Oh, I am. I’ll cuff you right now. Do you even have cuffs on you? Yeah, look, Rafe, I know we don’t exactly like each other. We both want to find my mom and Harris and Susan Banks if she’s actually alive. I know I’m on better than you do. I know her habits and I know what she’s told me. I can help you. We’re wasting time. Yeah, we are.

Okay, fine. Okay, fine. Let’s go.

I’ve been…

I feel horrible about all of this. So you told me. But that was before I knew it was about my family.

I know, okay, and trust me, I feel worse because of it. I feel very ashamed right now. You’ve been so good to me, okay, and your daughter, she’s the reason I’m not in prison. I hope you agree that she doesn’t need to know about this. It was just one time and I promise you it’s never going to happen again, okay? You’re not going to tell her are you. As much as I can, I’m not going to tell her. I’m not going to tell her are you.

As much as I would like to. I am bound by doctor of patient confidentiality. But in my experience, secrets have a way of getting out.

No one else knows about this. My sister didn’t want anyone to know because she knew how much it would hurt you. Again, I am so sorry for all of it.

None: I’m going to take this down to prison.

Val, I love my name’s sorry. I will do anything or do anything to fix it.

Look, I know that we still have to work together and I know this is probably going to be uncomfortable.

Yes, it will. But I can behave professionally. Can you do that?

And I guess you can probably now agree that I need a therapist. I do. Of course. I just want you to know that you really need to know that you have to know about this. I want you to know that you really need help. I’m so sorry that I let you down. I deserve that.

None: That is the least of what you deserve. Well, I know you’re feeling angry right now and I know you’re feeling humiliated. Okay, you’re the one. You’re the one that did everything right now.

I’m not going to do anything. I’m not going to do anything. I’m not going to do anything.

I’m not going to do anything. I’m not going to do anything. Okay, you’re the one.

You’re the one that did everything right and I did everything wrong. Oh my God, please spare me the whole sad-ass victim routine. You don’t have any idea what I feel. You know, for the last few weeks, you’ve been dredging up everything about my past with Philip and EJ and throwing it in my face and all the while you were sleeping with Talia.

No, I was not. I wasn’t.

It happened one time. Oh God, I don’t care how many times it happened. It’s not the same thing. You and I were not married when I was with Philip. I was separated when I was with EJ. And you know, the only reason that we were separated is because you invited Jan to come live in our house and basically let our pregnant ask me out of my own home.

Okay, okay, okay. But we were married when you decided to go out and sleep with your professor back in Maine.

Oh, okay.

So we’re keeping score now? Yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly. It seems to me like you’re the one doing that. Just stop it. Listen.

I know that you have been going through hell with everything happening with your dad and with Victor. And I tried to do everything in my power to be there for you through everything. I was so supportive and I was understanding that you and gave you grace when you said you were going to quit drinking and then you didn’t. Even when you got belligerent and even violent and almost lost your job twice, I stayed by your side. They even went to a meeting with you yesterday. And what did they say? They said, not only do you have to be truthful with others, but you have to be honest with yourself too. And even then you didn’t tell me. You just lied to me.

It was because I knew that the truth would hurt you worse than you lied.

Yeah, of course it hurt me. It hurt me more than you could possibly know because I thought this was the one thing you would never do to me or to us. And now I know I’m living a lie.

Well, my doctor, the server who called in the tip. Sure enough, he was able to ID Eva and Harris from the passport photos. They were here yesterday. Okay, all right, did he say anything else? Yeah, he used his phone to look something up. Okay, but you did, of course I checked the search history. I looked up a guy named Edmund P. Crumb.

None: Who’s that?

I’m Corinne to the web. Susan’s first husband.

Okay, I’ll call Wendy and see if she needs to get an address.

Oh, this guy’s necessary. We got her right here.

I have in the foggiest notion who these men were or who their boss was. They just told me that nobody must know where she was because she was in danger of some deranged woman drove off the side of a cliff.

And this is your idea of keeping her safe, keeping her in this room chained up like a dog? Oh, hold on.

I mean, there’s a little bit more to it than that. You know, you see, when I finally woke up…

Susan, can you hear me?

Edmund. Yes, darling, it’s Edmund. You’re in London. I’m taking care of you.

Where’s my Russia?

Roger. Who’s Roger? His man is red. Your husband? He’s a need him, I need my Roger.

After all I’ve done for you, I’ve fed you and bathed you. This is the thanks I get. You want you, Roger?

Get in, Edmund, Edmund. I really, really do appreciate everything he does for me, but… I don’t love you.

I love my Roger. Yeah.

Oh, man. And that is how I ended up like this. Okay, you know what, Edmund? What are you gonna do? You’re gonna keep Ava in hairs here, too?

Wait a minute. Your name’s Ava. Ava Vitale, the woman that tried to kill my Susan? Oh, for heaven’s sake. Ava, not your children! Well, it was an inconvenience to have you to stumble on my little situation. And I wasn’t gonna hurt innocent people. However, now I know that you’re not innocent, I’m gonna have to do something to take care of you.

Cheetah, what are you doing here?

I came to check on our gunshot wound patient and also to warn you. Wearing me about what? James, I’m so sorry, Talia. But Elle knows about you and Sean.

Elle, I love you. I always have, and I always will. And nothing is gonna change that. What happened, Talia? It was a mistake. And it wasn’t because I wanted her. Okay, it was because I was drunk. And you and I just got into this terrible fight, and then, I don’t know, she was just there. Right.

So you just jumped into bed with a woman you barely know? Who’d just been through hell herself? Did it make you feel better?

No, no, no, it did not. I take full responsibility for everything that happened, and please, don’t go and blame her for this.

I don’t blame her for this. I blame you. Only you. Because this was your way of getting back at me, right?

What are you talking about?

Yeah, because you could never stand the fact that I had ever been with anyone else, and you have just been dying for a reason to hurt me the way it hurt me.

No, no, that’s not true.

Yeah, it is. That’s how you use the past to justify training on me. No, I’ve…

No, there’s nothing that justifies this. Nothing. I know that. You know what? I guess if I’m gonna be truthful here, I guess that… You know what? You’re past. It did in some way, it… it justified what happened, you know? Because you know what? I think that if I were to forgive you for everything that you did, I would think that you would be able to understand and forgive me.

Well, I don’t understand, Sean. And I don’t forgive you either.

Well, just… Please, how I swear to you, I won’t do anything. Anything that I can do with the Fixals, just tell me I swear.

There’s nothing you can do. Nothing.

Susan? What do you think Edmund’s gonna do?

What? I haven’t focused. Does he have a history of violence? Well, yeah.

Well, what? Well, what, huh?

I mean, look, he’s prepped a chain gap here for months, so obviously he’s got a screw loose somewhere.

Okay, I shouldn’t talk. I know that, but come on. I mean, if he was gonna kill us, he would have killed us by now, right? Yeah, we probably. Everybody didn’t know who you were until just now, but… Charlotte, freak you out, but you did, Hess.

And you really didn’t answer.

Okay, time, time, time, time. I will answer. All right, let’s see. Weird, Edmund, pay crumb. Kill someone out of the blue for no reason. No, but… For what?

None: What?

I really has killed before.

Yes, can I help you?

So you’re saying crumb committed murder?

What? I mean, what he thought he was killing Christian to protect me? What are you talking about, Christian is still alive? Well, I know that. I know that. Hey, that’s okay. See, he mistook my late sister Penelope for Christian. I mean, they said so much alive. Anyway, okay. You know what? And then she and Edmund… Well, they got into this nasty, nasty struggle, causing Penelope to tumble into the swimming pool and causing Edmund to push her head under the water. Yeah, and that was the end of Penelope.

Okay, so what do you say?

I guess what I’m saying, Mr. Harris, is that if he’s done it before, then… Yes, I think he’s capable of killing a kid.

Edmund, the crumb? Yes, you are? Commissioner Ray Fernandez, Salem P.D., USA. And this is my… Soap seat. Trip Johnson.

The Salem, did you say? Mm-hmm. That’s where my late wife used to live. Where she died, so I heard. What a coincidence. For sure. Yeah.

How may I help you? Right, yes. So we’re looking for two Salem locals who have gone missing, and, uh, well… They have reason to believe that they’re in London. So… You see me there, these… There you go. These two people?

That’s her. That’s the woman that killed my beloved Susan. I thought she was in a mental institution. Yeah, she was. But, uh…

She escaped.

It’s terrible. The woman that killed my Susan shouldn’t be running around free. She’s a minister society. She shouldn’t even be alive.

We were in the interrogation room together, and I didn’t think anyone was going to walk in.

Let alone Belle. I thought the conversation was between us. Why would you talk to Sean about it?

Why, I hadn’t planned on it. But it’s just the moment I saw him, and after we talked, I just… I had to confront him. I mean, you were vulnerable, and he took advantage of that.

Jada, he was vulnerable, too. Okay, he didn’t force me to do anything. I’m just as responsible as he is from what happened.

I know, but it’s just… Please.

Listen, okay, you cannot let what happen, and if you’re with your work relationship. Sean… Sean is a good guy. Okay, he went through hell, and he made a huge mistake. Both… Both… He and I did. Yeah, but I just…

I hate that it’s all coming out like this.

Well, it was going to come out eventually, wasn’t it? I suppose. Look, I… I just hope that you don’t look at me differently because of this. Oh.

Talia, I love you, okay? I am not judging you at all.

Thank you. Thank you for never giving up on me, and for always being there.

There.

None: Anytime.

God, I have to get out of here.

Okay, let’s go home.

I don’t want to go home. I don’t want to be anywhere near you.

This old… What is it that you’re saying? Well, why are we supposed to go from here then?

I have no idea, but I know I want you to leave me alone. Aw, fuck!

None: directions I know. Question. fallen disagree. I Oh I’m sorry I this you’re very sweet girl, but this is look this is my fault. No, okay. It was me too

Look, I know there’s a lot more for us to say But I’ve got a got a tell bell worm so There’s any way that you know, you could just not say anything about last night just until

Figure out what I’m gonna say to her. Yeah, I understand. I won’t say a word

How to go with Chanel

Chanel. Yeah, did you like the flowers? Oh? I don’t know Chanel and I are seeing each other anymore. What? Yeah, she decided to get back with your nephew Johnny. Oh

What’s wrong?

It’s time to eat it on me. Oh honey. Oh honey. Oh, honey. You’re right

This just this is working, right?

Oh, I mean, it’s like, you know, like us like living living together again like this. It’s just I

My god, why

I don’t know how to say this thing. You think it was a bad idea because yeah, damn it. I get like like

Oh my gosh, well, I am why am I having so much trouble trying to find these words right now?

I just you know what I think you should just go take a shower and we’ll still have dinner We’ll talk about the cubs and in the morning. I will go pack my stuff

I don’t I don’t want to talk about the Cubs Bell. I don’t want to have dinner and I don’t want you to leave But I don’t want things to stay like this It’s

You’re right, I think I do need to take a shower

Do you want to join me

Are you sure?

Yeah, I’m sure yeah, I love that. Yeah

Sean, I am really sorry. Yeah, no, thank you, but that was gonna find out one way or another You want to talk about it?

No, no, I’m good

Okay, well, I I spoke to Dr. Brady at the hospital and it looks like the meat tree vine bushener is in recovery So that’s good. I guess Also, I just heard from Ray Fobidigo that he got a lead you might have a good lead on able to tally and hear his michaels

Oh my god, I’d been thinking some of danger. He’s gonna kill me

Your nickers in a twisty twist. I mean we did not know that for a fact Oh, we know enough we need to find a way out of here. Hey, we’re gonna get out of here

I’ve been in much worse spots than this. Yeah, so if I show hip, I Promise you For that creep touches a hair on your head You have to kill me first

Yeah, well actually the people that we are looking for are under the impression that Susan Banks is still a lot

But that’s impossible. I was told she was blowing up in the car crash

Yeah, well me that is a may. We believe that they came here Here to London

Your dear apartment. I certainly haven’t seen them. Well, they looked up your address just before they were missing Well, that’s all it is in it. Well, if they turn off, I’ll let you know

You mind if we have a look around

Well actually I do
