A new Ashley personality comes out as a Southern belle and Traci is startled to see Ashley’s new personality at the jazz lounge. Kyle tells Jack that he gave the guy at the 24-hour diner some money and he got a look at the security footage from the diner and found Jordan’s car. Now he is going to search the neighborhood for it.

Kyle finds Harrison alone in the hotel room where Jordan is holding him hostage. Jordan goes to the alley to meet Nikki, but Nikki isn’t there. Jordan is waiting for her, but Victor comes up behind her and puts her to sleep with chloroform.

Days of Our Lives Update

Update written by Joseph

Kayla gets Paulina set back in the hospital and warns her that she’s lucky to be alive. Kayla notes that Paulina checked out fine but her numbers are too high for her to let her go home. Kayla questions what Paulina was thinking by sneaking out to Smith Island. Paulina apologizes for worrying everyone. Kayla talks about Paulina commandeering a snow plow and driving on snowy roads at night while also exposing Johnny, Chanel, and Julie to radiation. Kayla says that’s a big deal so there’s going to be an investigation and reports. Paulina says she knows all that and she’s sorry that she put people’s lives at risk, but she felt she had no choice. Paulina asks if Kayla could sit still and do nothing if her daughter was missing. Paulina declares that she had to rescue her baby girl and nothing was more important than that.

Johnny and Chanel sit together in a hospital room, talking about their experience having to be checked out after being exposed to radiation. Chanel is sorry that Johnny had to go through this because of her. Johnny doesn’t blame her and points out that she went looking for him. Chanel says if she would’ve just waited for him to come back, she wouldn’t have gotten stuck and Paulina wouldn’t have risked so much. Johnny declares that all that matters is that Paulina found her, even if it means he didn’t get to be her hero. Chanel assures that he is her hero and he makes her happier than she’s ever been as they kiss.

Kate enters the Brady Pub as Roman is talking on the phone with Sami about the Horton Cabin being emptied and getting Johnny, Chanel, and Paulina checked out at the hospital. Roman finishes the call and asks Kate how Lucas is. Kate says he’s hanging in. Roman encourages that Lucas will be out soon but Kate worries that nothing is for certain with Clyde on the loose. Kate wonders if Lucas is still safe at the monastery or if he will have go back to prison and complains that there are so many questions. Roman gets the Lucas and Kate are in limbo right now. Kate admits it’s driving her insane. Kate asks if Harris is upstairs, complaining that he’s not answering her phone calls. Roman informs her that he left for work so Kate decides she will go to the police station to find him for her questions. Roman wishes her luck as she exits.

Harris and Ava walk through the town square and come across the Bistro, which says that it is closed for renovations. Ava comments to Harris that everyone knows it’s shut down because Stefan got arrested. Ava asks if Harris regrets being dragged in to this yet. Harris insists there is no way she’s doing this alone. Ava states that if it wasn’t for Clyde’s black book, the Bistro is the last place she would ever be. Harris notes that it could be their big break in finding Clyde and putting him away so they will just get it over with. Ava then heads for the Bistro.

Abe drinks coffee at the hospital and thinks back to getting Paulina set up in the hospital for radiation. Kayla comes over, so Abe tells her that he takes full responsibility for Paulina’s escape since he wasn’t keeping an eye on her. Abe wishes she called him before doing something so reckless and asks how she’s doing. Kayla notes that her levels are still higher than she’d like, but if she follows the proper protocols, she thinks Paulina could go home tomorrow. Abe promises to keep Paulina in line from now on. Kayla jokingly wishes him luck with that and walks away.

Johnny asks Chanel if they are supposed to keep their distance now until they are radiation free. Chanel says she will go nuts if they have to isolate. Kayla comes in and informs Chanel that she has no break or fracture, just a serious sprained ankle. Chanel is relieved and says she’s feeling better already. Kayla advises her to keep it elevated and iced while staying off it as much as she can. Kayla brings up Chanel being exposed to more radiation than Johnny and Julie so her levels are higher, but she doesn’t think it’s anything to worry about. Johnny asks if they are good to go then which Kayla confirms. Johnny calls it a relief. Kayla reminds Chanel to come back if she feels any nausea or dizziness. Kayla then tells them they can go and exits as Johnny kisses Chanel.

While waiting for Ava, Harris runs in to Kate in the town square. Harris tells her it’s not a good time. Kate tells him to make time because she’s left him three messages with no returned call. Kate questions why Harris has been avoiding her at the Pub.

Ava enters the Bistro and flashes back to talking to Harris about finding Clyde’s black book. Ava then begins searching the Bistro until Stefan comes out from the back and questions what the hell she’s doing. Ava claims that she was picking up the last of her things. Stefan questions her having things behind the wine bottles. Ava admits that he caught her as he figured a couple bottles of wine was the least the place owed her. Ava asks why she’s being interrogated and questions what Stefan is doing there. Stefan says he owns the place so he’s doing inventory. Stefan explains that EJ let him keep the Bistro when he kicked him out of DiMera, so he figured his people have been out of work long enough and with Clyde out of the picture, they are going to reopen and become the best restaurant in the state.

Harris tells Kate that he has not been avoiding her, but he’s been extremely busy recovering from nearly being killed and trying to track down Clyde. Kate argues that everyone wants Clyde caught but he’s not doing that alone, so she needs him to focus on getting Lucas out. Kate reminds Harris of his promise. Harris says it’s going to take some time. Kate remarks that it’s not his son that’s in the monastery going insane. Harris says he understands but Kate argues that he doesn’t because he almost got Lucas killed by dragging him in to all of this. Kate warns of what she’s capable of when it comes to protecting her children.

Paulina talks to Abe on video chat and says she would do anything for her children, feeling she had no choice but to do what she did. Abe disagrees, pointing out that she put people at risk and risked her own life. Paulina calls it a calculated risk as she was told the radioactivity would decrease with time. Abe argues that the doctors didn’t clear her so it wasn’t safe for her to leave. Paulina acknowledges that she abused her power and potentially hurt her reputation, but repeats that her daughter was missing and she was afraid of never seeing her again so she couldn’t stay in the room. Abe loves that she is the force of nature that she is, but says this was ill advised. Paulina admits that she took a chance and it was risky, but points out that they all made it out alive because of her and Chanel was reminded that she will stop at nothing to make sure she is safe. Paulina then asks if anyone found her phone.

Chanel tells Johnny that her ankle hurts when she puts too much pressure on it. Chanel jokes about ending their honeymoon at the hospital, limping while radioactive. Johnny brings up Julie walking in on them and then getting trapped in a snowstorm until Paulina showed up and gave them all radiation poisoning. Johnny asks about giving it another try at the cabin but Chanel says absolutely not.

Kayla goes to the Brady Pub. Roman hugs her and says it’s good to see her as he asks if everything is okay. Kayla says it’s been quite a day. Roman offers her clam chowder and a shoulder to lean on which Kayla says she needs more than he knows.

Ava congratulates Stefan on going from CEO of a multi national company to a barkeep. Stefan tells her to hurry up because he has work to do. Ava argues that they built the restaurant together. Stefan points out that they also ran drugs through it. Ava reminds him that her son was kidnapped and nearly killed while Stefan reminds her that his wife had her leg broken in prison. Ava argues that Stefan tried to kill Harris twice, so she doesn’t know why he’s giving her grief when he should still be behind bars. Ava remarks that Stefan is lucky that he has a brother with pull. Stefan argues that Harris got him out of jail and he’s not going to take the blame for a deal that went sideways. Stefan complains that Ava should be kissing his feet since he took the blame for everything when Ava was just as guilty. Ava mocks him being a saint. Stefan admits that he has his regrets including what happened between them as Ava flashes back to when they had sex. Stefan adds that he would do it all again to protect his family. Ava admits she would too. Ava then tells Stefan that there’s something she’s been meaning to tell him. Ava then claims that she came to the Bistro because she was feeling nostalgic about the place and the good times they had. Stefan questions if there were any. Ava guesses she just wanted to see the place one last time and now she has everything she needs. Stefan reminds her that he will need her keys back.

Roman tells Kayla that he knows she’s used to taking on a lot, but this is way too much even for her. Kayla doesn’t want to complain and reminds herself of what others are going through. Kayla calls it a relief that everyone at the cabin was found and they are alright. Roman questions what the hell Paulina was thinking. Kayla talks about how they can relate to protecting their children but wishes there was another way of going about it. Kayla thinks Paulina feels vindicated now. Roman isn’t sure that she should but acknowledges they would do anything to protect and save their kids. Roman mentions not seeing Stephanie around lately and asks how she is doing. Kayla says she’s going through a rough time and a broken heart, so she wishes she could fix it but all she can do is be there for her. Roman says anybody that has Kayla on their side is better off. Kayla repeats that she’d do anything for Stephanie and her sons. Roman jokes for her not to go stealing any snow plows. Roman assures that he’s always here for her. Kayla calls him the best brother. Kayla decides to head to the restroom before leaving. Kate then returns and informs Roman that she ran in to Harris on the way and they had a few words. Kate states that she told Harris to get Lucas freed or else.

Ava tells Stefan that maybe she should hang on to the keys in case of emergency and she can always fill in if he needs her since she’ll have time on her hands while looking for work. Stefan says he appreciates that but he thinks they need to make a clean break. Ava reluctantly accepts that and hands over the keys. Ava tells Stefan to take care of himself as she then exits the Bistro. Stefan then thinks back to having sex with Ava. Ava heads back to Harris in the town square and tells him that Clyde’s book is nowhere to be found. Harris asks if she’s sure and he wants to go in but Ava stops him and says that’s not such a good idea. Ava reveals that Stefan is in there which shocks Harris. Ava explains that Stefan said he’s doing inventory before reopening and things got pretty heated between them, so he made her turn her keys back in. Stefan comes out, so Ava says they should go but Harris decides he’s going to hang back and talk to Stefan, just the two of them. Ava tells them to play nice and walks away. Stefan tells Harris that he’s unarmed. Harris says he’s not, but questions how the hell he’s out of jail.

Johnny helps Chanel to the front desk of the hospital. Johnny says they ran the gauntlet and spoke to his mother while waving to her mother through the glass. They get ready to go but Chanel talks about how it won’t be easy to go up the stairs to his bedroom. Johnny says that’s why they aren’t going back there yet. Johnny reveals that he had something else in mind and promises it’s a surprise that she’s going to like.

Kayla exits the Pub and runs in to Ava. Ava asks her to excuse her but Kayla refuses. Kayla asks where to even begin. Ava guesses it’s her reckless disregard to anyone but herself. Kayla complains that Ava thinks she’s so smart but she never learns. Kayla warns that there will be a reckoning with all the damage that she’s caused her family. Ava says she doesn’t have time for this. Kayla asks how Ava even sleeps at night after almost getting her son killed. Ava argues that she tried to protect Tripp and begged him to go to China with Wendy. Kayla mocks her solution being to get Tripp out of the continent so that he’s out of the way of the crosshairs of her crimes. Kayla asks if Ava even fathomed what it would do to Steve if he lost his son. Ava argues that Tripp is her son and what it would do to her. Kayla argues that Ava would’ve been responsible for it but would’ve blamed somebody else. Ava warns Kayla that she has no idea what she had to do to save her son. Kayla complains that she wouldn’t have had to save him if she didn’t get involved with Clyde in the first place. Kayla calls it another one of Ava’s self-centered schemes and then she got Steve involved, forcing him to break Clyde out of prison. Kayla tells Ava that she knows all about it. Ava warns her to keep her voice down unless she wants Steve to go to prison. Kayla complains about Ava abusing Steve over and over again. Kayla warns Ava to stay away from her husband. Roman then comes out from the Pub and asks what’s going on.

Harris tells Stefan that he and EJ must have cooked up some kind of deal or else he’d still be locked up. Harris argues that Stefan tried to kill him and confessed to working for a drug lord. Stefan argues that he did what he did because his wife’s life was threatened and that he provided the police with useful information that led to the significant dismantling of Clyde’s operation. Harris argues that the judge never would’ve considered time served without a recommendation from the district attorney. Harris then realizes that Stefan has something on EJ. Stefan points out that Harris had something on him too to force his confession. Harris notes that Stefan didn’t deny having something on EJ. Harris calls him an arrogant son of a bitch. Stefan says for what it’s worth, he’s truly sorry for shooting him and he was relieved that he pulled through. Stefan knows that may be hard to believe but calls it the truth and says if he could go back, he would change so many things. Harris asks what he wishes he could go back and change and if it includes helping Clyde escape. Stefan swears on he and Gabi’s lives that he did not help Clyde escape. Harris questions Clyde not reaching out to Stefan since escaping which Stefan confirms and that if he had, he would’ve alerted the authorities immediately. Harris mocks the idea of Stefan being an upstanding citizen. Stefan says that there is no grey area with him and Clyde so as far as he’s concerned, Clyde has gone far away, never to be seen again. Stefan admits he’s done a lot that he’s not proud of, just like Ava and Harris. Stefan swears to everything he holds dear that he had nothing to do with Clyde escaping prison. Harris questions who the hell did then.

Kayla tells Roman that everything is fine and that she and Ava are just clearing up a few things. Ava asks for the key to their room and says she’ll be out of everyone’s hair. Roman questions what room. Ava then informs them that she is staying with Harris. Roman argues that Ava’s name is not on the lease, so she can’t have the key and she can’t stay there. Ava questions if he’s really going to police who can stay in who’s room. Roman tells Ava that this is personal because of what she did to his sister. Roman adds that she can stay somewhere but it won’t be under his roof. Ava says they will see what Harris has to say about that. Roman declares that he’s the landlord, so it’s his rules and he calls the shots here. Ava then walks away. Kayla thanks Roman, who says it was his pleasure.

Paulina asks Abe where her phone was found. Abe says it was near where she found Chanel and they’ll go pick it up tomorrow. Paulina asks if that means he’s not angry anymore. Abe says he doesn’t love what she did, but he gets why she did it so he’s willing to let it go. Abe adds that he was more worried than angry. Paulina declares there is no need for worry anymore either as everyone is fine and safe and she will soon be radiation free at home with him. They say I love you to each other and finish their video chat.

Johnny carries Chanel into a room at the Salem Inn which he had set up with rose petals, candles, and champagne. Chanel questions him checking them in under John Doe. Johnny decides after everything they’ve been through, he thought it would be nice if no one could track them down so there’s no more unexpected surprises. Chanel acknowledges that he thought of everything. Johnny talks about setting this all up and reveals he also brought his guitar and he’s going to serenade her. Chanel talks about how lucky she is. Johnny then plays guitar and sings to Chanel. Chanel applauds and they kiss.

Nikki: Now that we have established that I’m not drinking, will you please give me claire’s number so I can contact jordan?

Victoria: Mom, the idea of putting you in any danger–

Nikki: Honey, I have already agreed that you and cole can be a part of it. After I make contact with jordan, I will tell victor and let the police and our security people handle it. I will be perfectly safe.

Victoria: This is jordan we’re talking about. How do you outsmart a psychopath?

Nikki: Well, she’s desperate, and she’s cornered with very few escape routes. I’m the best chance that she has. We will lure her out of hiding–

Victoria: Using you as bait?

Nikki: But she will have no choice but to hand over claire and harrison.

Cole: If everything goes as planned.

Nikki: We can debate this for hours, but we don’t have that kind of time. Claire and harrison have already been missing for too long. Victoria, if you don’t give me claire’s number, I will go to kyle or michael if I have to, but then that would tip everybody off and ruin the plan. Honey, it’s all up to you. Will you do what needs to be done?

Jack: We have offered you money. You know what the stakes are. There are lives at risk. A little boy and a young girl, they’re family of ours, that we care about a great deal. Out with it. What do you know?

Victor: We can just dispense with you.

Dave: I want guarantees.

Kyle: No, you’re in no position to negotiate.

Dave: How do I know this is legit? You offer me money, I spill my guts, then you turn me in as an accomplice.

Jack: Are you an accomplice?

Dave: No!

Jack: Then, you have nothing to worry about.

Dave: I’m just supposed to trust you?

Victor: Look at me. You’re dealing with guys who are men of their word.

Devon: All right, that’s two votes in favor of nate joining the board of directors and two against it. Lily?

Lily: Well, nate joining the board was not on the agenda today, and suddenly I’m the deciding vote?

Devon: I apologize for just springing it on you like this, but I thought it was important, and I thought that nate has earned this spot.

Lily: I mean, this is a very important decision. I think maybe we should discuss it first.

Jill: No, the vote is in process. We need to proceed, lily.

Abby: Lily, you’ve been dealing with a lot lately. And I know how hard it is being caught between family votes. I’ve had to abstain quite a few times.

Lily: I’m not gonna abstain, abby.

Jill: Well, don’t keep us in suspense. Although, this isn’t exactly a nail-biter. The lines are pretty clearly drawn.

Nate: Uh, lily, if it helps you with your decision, I’m assuming, um, I’ll still have a job, board member or not, so you shouldn’t feel pressured.

Billy: That’s a good point, nate. Lily, go with your gut.

Nate: We’re still family either way. I’m just happy to be contributing to the company.

Lily: Well, I’m glad you feel that way because I’m gonna have to vote no.

Announcer: Additional sponsorship provided by…

Billy: So, that is two votes yay, three votes nay, against devon’s motion to add nate to the chancellor-winters board of directors. The nays have it. Sorry, nate.

Jill: Wow, I really wasn’t expecting this.

Nate: Lily, may I ask, what is it specifically? Do you have issues with my work?

Lily: Nate, no, your work has been great. I just don’t feel like you’ve earned your place back on the board. So I’m sorry, but it doesn’t mean that we can’t revisit it in the future.

Nate: I understand.

Jill: Listen, nate, I am with lily on this. But once you put in your time and the rest of us have gotten past prior events, I would be happy to recommend we vote again to put you on the board.

Nate: I look forward to the opportunity to continue to prove myself. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ll get back to it.

[ Lily sighs ]

Lily: Well, if there are no more surprises, maybe we can proceed with our actual agenda.

Devon: Do you mind if i talk with you for a second?

Lily: Devon, can we talk later? Because now we’re behind schedule. So, can we get back to why we’re actually here, which is discussing daniel romalotti’s lawsuit?

Jack: So, what’s it gonna be, dave?

Dave: I’m not going to jail. I didn’t do anything.

Kyle: My child is missing.

Jack: If we wanted to turn you in, the police would be here right now.

Dave: I already told them everything I know.

Victor: Hey, dave. This really how you want to play it?

Jack: Dave, look at me. All we care about is that we get the people we love safely home. The woman that took them is a murderer. She is capable of anything. If anything should happen to them, do you really want that on your conscience? We are offering you a chance here to do the right thing.

Kyle: Look, dave, my little boy is seven years old. He thinks a little brass bunny is good luck. He doesn’t go to sleep at night until we have read at least two books. He has told me all about his school, his friends, his favorite subject and every game he has played on the playground. Right now, he doesn’t have his school, his friends, his bed or his parents. So, how can you hear me say this and stay silent?

Victoria: Mom, I hate this.

Nikki: Did I make a mistake in telling you my plan?

Victoria: No! No, of course not. I– cole, what do you think?

Nikki: Why don’t you two talk about it? Maybe cole can convince you it’s the right thing to do. I’ll– I’ll step out and get some air.

Victoria: Mom, no. Mom. I know she feels like she has to do this, but I will never forgive myself if anything happens to her.

Cole: I– I completely understand. But listen, all we’re talking about here is one phone call. That’s it. We can always pull back, go in a different direction after nikki’s made contact.

Victoria: You think she should reach out to jordan?

Cole: I think that the authorities are following leads that have gone nowhere so far. I think nikki’s plan, it just– it just takes– it takes the guesswork out of it. It takes us directly to my aunt, offering her the only thing that might lure this maniac out of hiding.

Victoria: Herself.

Cole: Yes. But we’re not gonna let it go that far. Nikki’s plan might be our best shot at finding harrison and claire.

Victoria: Look, I know you might be right about that, but jordan is such a wild card. I mean, no telling what she might do if she’s provoked. What if she tries to hurt harrison or claire? How can we take that chance?

Cole: We have faith. And we gotta get ready to step in whenever and however we have to. If claire is anything like her mother, I know that she is doing everything she can to try to protect harrison and get back to us. You have to hold on to that. Our daughter is fighting just as hard as we are to end this. I know it. And nikki’s plan can possibly help us get closer to getting claire and harrison back home. If it can, I’m all for it.

Victoria: How do you do that?

Cole: What?

Victoria: You just make me feel, in the middle of this mess, that everything’s gonna be okay.

Nikki: Well, have you made a decision?

Victoria: I’ll send you claire’s number.

[ Nikki sighs ]

Nikki: Thank you.

Victoria: You know, you don’t have to do this, mom.

Nikki: No, no, no, no, no.

Victoria: We can find another way.

Nikki: Voicemail. Hey there, jordan, it’s me. I know that you kidnapped claire and harrison. I assume that you meant to only take harrison, but then claire got in the way? Or maybe you intended to take both of them to make claire look like the guilty party, to punish her for turning on you and to punish my family for accepting claire as one of our own. But I know what you really want, what you’ve always wanted. You want to punish me. You hate me. So, let’s do it, once and for all. So I didn’t think I needed swiffer,

Jill: Before we get to the vote on the romalotti lawsuit, this matter is very personal for you, lily, and I would like you to speak to that.

Lily: Well, I stand by my decision to terminate daniel and heather. And, you know, is there a personal element to it? Of course there is, but I think it’s what’s best for company productivity.

Jill: I wouldn’t hold it against you if you wanted payback. If that’s the case, I mean, I sure as hell would. And you’ve been hurt enough, god knows. But there are legal issues to be considered here, and your decision has got to be a professional one. It can’t be emotional.

Lily: I hope you’re not implying that I would put the company’s welfare at stake because my feelings were hurt. I mean, the attorney said that our contract is ironclad. We own all of the intellectual property related to omegasphere. End of story.

Billy: But it’s not a guaranteed win. Our legal team has already informed us that heather is trying to exploit a loophole that would blow the whole thing up.

Lily: That’s fine. Let her try. Our lawyers are confident that she’ll lose.

Billy: Okay, but we got to think about the optics here because if daniel and heather continue to push the wrongful termination angle, that’s not a good look for chancellor-winters, and that’s the last thing we need right now.

Jill: All right. Let’s look at some alternatives to going to court. How about if we offer daniel a payout equal to the value of the games he wants to take with him?

Abby: No, I don’t think that’s gonna fly. If anything, it’ll offend him, and he’ll take a stronger stance against us.

Jill: How so?

Abby: Because it isn’t about the money for daniel. This is about his connection to his daughter. Princess louisa was named after lucy. This is very, very personal for him.

Lily: Yeah, abby is right. I mean, we’ve already given him a very generous severance package. I don’t think more money is the answer.

Jill: Why not let him have the games he wants to have and walk away.

Lily: Because daniel created them, but we funded the entire project. If we give daniel back those games, we have to start over from scratch, and it would be too much time and too much money lost. It’s a bad business decision, and– and I think it’s a mistake.

Jill: Let me ask you this. Have you thought about what this lawsuit will mean? It could get very, very nasty. Your personal life will be dragged through the courts, splashed across the tabloids. Are you sure you want to open yourself up to that?

Lily: I have nothing to hide, jill. It’s daniel and heather who should be embarrassed to air their dirty laundry and then play victim when they have to deal with the consequences.

Billy: You’ve been quiet. Do you have anything you’d like to add?

Devon: No, I don’T. You guys know where I stand on this.

Jill: Any other observations? Hm? Any, uh, comments? Speak up now. All right, then I propose we put this to a vote. And I vote against going to court. And, lily, I totally understand your point of view, and I respect it. I just feel that the company will suffer less if we just let daniel take his toys and go home. Okay, we take the loss, we move on. We’ve all been through it before. We’ll all be going through it again.

Billy: I agree with my mother. I vote against following through with the lawsuit.

Lily: Well, you know where I stand. We own omegasphere. We made it the success it is. I vote that we fight to keep it.

Abby: And I vote with lily. I think we should fight.

Billy: Well, now. Look who’s the tiebreaker.

Victor: Hey, dave. Look at me. I said look at me! If you won’t make a decision, we’ll make it for you. But I promise you, you’ll be much better off if you now cooperate with us.

Dave: I had no idea what that woman was planning. Sure as hell not snatching a kid, I swear.

Kyle: Okay, when did she approach you? Where were you? Was she alone?

Dave: I was at a bar. She sat down next to me. Out of nowhere, she starts talking about my gambling debts. Something that’s between me and my bookie. How the hell did she know about it?

Victor: She’s a woman who finds out what she wants to find out.

Jack: Is that when she offered you the money?

Dave: She said she needed my truck for a few hours. That she’d give me 10 grand. Five up front, five afterwards, no questions asked.

Kyle: And you agreed? Just like that.

Dave: She swore it would never come back to me. That she’d make it look like the vehicle was stolen from the convenience store parking lot.

Jack: And you just ga– gave her your truck? No curiosity about why she would go to such lengths? What crimes she might commit with it?

Dave: She paid me to make it not my business.

Kyle: Yeah, what a guy.

Dave: I’m in debt up to my eyeballs. It was a way out.

Jack: Then she abandoned the truck. What happened then? How’d you get the rest of your money? Where was the payoff? When?

Kyle: Answer him!

Jack: We don’t have a lot of time, dave. We don’t know how much time we have or what her next move is going to be. All we know is two people we love dearly are in serious trouble and you can help us!

Nikki: You lured me to oregon. You pumped me full of alcohol and wanted me to watch you kill my family. All because you think that your equally twisted sister would have ended up with victor if it hadn’t been for me. That was never going to happen. And I am going to give you the opportunity of a lifetime. You let harrison and claire go and I will take their place. You’re not going to get a better offer. And I promise you, victor will agree to any deal. Will pay any amount of money to get his wife back. I will be in the alley of euclid and seventh in an hour. Let’s end this one way or another.

You’re the one that I want

Victoria: Are you all right?

Nikki: Yes, of course.

Cole: Standing up to jordan the way you just did took a lot of courage.

Nikki: Well, I– I don’t know about that, let’s just hope that it worked. I mean, we wouldn’t even be in this situation if it weren’t for me.

Victoria: No, this is not your fault. You have to stop blaming yourself.

Nikki: I will make it right.

Victoria: No, mom, your part in this is done. That was part of the agreement. You would contact jordan, and then let dad and his team and the police handle the rest of it.

Cole: Yeah, they– they will meet with jordan, not you.

Nikki: Yes, that’s what I meant. Now, I’ve got to get up to the main house, and tell victor what’s going on.

Victoria: Well, cole can run you up to him.

Cole: Sure, sure.

Nikki: No, no, no, no. I’d rather walk. I need the air.

Victoria: Are you sure you’re okay?

Nikki: I’m fine, sweetheart. I mean, I will be once this nightmare is over.

Victoria: Thank you so much for doing this, mom. I love you.

Nikki: I love you, darling.

Cole: Nikki, thank you for helping us bring our daughter back.

[ Victoria sighs ]

Victoria: God. She puts on such a brave front, but she’s– she’s so fragile. You know she still blames herself for letting jordan live. I’m afraid that she– she won’t be able to bear it.

Victor: Now, dave… we can always rescind the offer. And tell jordan that her paid punk ratted out on her. And you can deal with jordan. How’s that?

Dave: Wait a minute–

Jack: My friend does not have a great deal of patience. I suggest you find a way to help us soon.

Dave: She told me to meet her at an all-night diner on fourth street.

Kyle: Yeah, I know it. It’s a dive in a residential area on the east side of town.

Jack: Great, that’s another piece of the puzzle.

Kyle: Okay, what was she wearing? What’d she look like?

Dave: She was dressed in sweats, long, brown, straight hair. Nothing flashy, a ball cap.

Victor: You stay right here. Keep an eye on him. Jordan would want to meet close to where she’s hiding claire and harrison.

Jack: To ensure that they won’t be unattended for too long.

Kyle: If that maniac would leave them alone at all, she must be certain that harrison can’t cry out for help or escape. That means he’s locked up or incapacitated.

Jack: Don’t go there.

Kyle: Unless… claire’s is the one watching him.

Victor: Kyle, claire is no threat. She’d do everything in her power to keep that boy safe.

Kyle: Victor, I want to believe you, but claire’s fooled people before.

Jack: Let’s stick with what we do know. Not start spinning scenarios.

Victor: Jack is right, okay?

Devon: Does this amuse you, billy?

Billy: Oh, I’m just trying to keep up.

Jill: Let’s just stay focused, please.

Billy: Yes, let’s stay focused. So, what is it, devon? How do you vote?

Devon: I’m voting with abby and my sister to fight the lawsuit.

Lily: Good, then it’s settled. Thank you for your support and I think you’ll see this is the best decision for the company. I have a meeting to get to. Excuse me.

Jill: Devon, could you stay, please?

Billy: Hey. Just wanted to say thank you for not urging the board to give me the boot, even though you think I’m a power-hungry ass.

Lily: Well, the meeting got kind of hijacked, but definitely not off the table.

Billy: Maybe I can change your mind.

Lily: Is that why you followed me out here? You think you can change my mind about pursuing the lawsuit?

Billy: I just want to say that I appreciate the way that you voted against adding nate to the board. I think it’s the right decision. It makes me think you thought about what I said earlier about who you can trust and who you can’t trust. And I’m hoping that means you’re ready to join me in taking over chancellor-winters.

A year after

a heart attack,

Announcer: The young and the restless will continue.

Lily: Okay, let me make something clear. I don’t agree with what devon did today, but I am not going to betray my family. And all of your talk of jill ready to step down, she does not seem like someone who’s going to pass her crown.

Billy: I think I know my mother pretty well. I know myself pretty well, and I think I know you pretty well. The person they saw in that room is ready to take no prisoners. That person who knows what she wants, who she is and what she’s capable of. Don’t be afraid to go for that.

Lily: Oh, but no pressure.

Billy: The pressure is coming from devon when he surprises you with a vote like that and he expects you to fall in line, and when you didn’t, he didn’t know what to do with himself.

Lily: I didn’t vote against nate because of devon’s tactics. I voted against nate because of our history with him. That wasn’t some signal to you that I’m ready to follow your dreams of the two of us ruling chancellor-winters.

Billy: We’d shake the dust off this company.

Lily: The dust?

Billy: We can take it to the next level, turn it into a powerhouse, how do you say no to that?

Lily: Very easily, because I’m not convinced that’s the direction I want to take this company.

Billy: That’s interesting.

Lily: What?

Billy: Your choice of words. You’re not convinced. Which means you could be convinced. So, with all due respect, I’m not going to give up.

[ Lily sighs ]

Victor: You tell them to search the area around the diner. You got that? Okay.

Jack: If we could just figure out what car she was driving after she ditched the truck, we could maybe spot it there in the neighborhood. You know what? I’ll make that my business.

Dave: I told you everything I know. We good?

Jack: You served your purpose. You will be compensated.

Dave: $100,000.

Jack: That’s what we agreed to.

Dave: And you’ll leave my name out of it.

Victor: Yes, dave, we will. Okay?

[ Dave sighs ] But I suggest to you that you take the 100,000 bucks, get the hell out of town, move somewhere else, all right?

Dave: I like this city just fine.

Kyle: Yeah, well, the woman you dealt with doesn’t like loose ends. Her last useful stranger found his way in front of a car.

Dave: He’s dead?

Victor: Dead like a roadkill. You better pray that we get to her first.

Jill: Talk to me about lily. How is she really doing with this breakup? She seems strong, she seems put together, but I just have to be sure that that’s the case.

Devon: It’s absolutely the case. She was, you know– she was definitely hurt by what daniel did, but she’s fine, she’s solid.

Jill: Well, sadly, it is not the first time that she’s had to deal with a cheating jerk.

Devon: Yeah, I mean, I agree with that, but I don’t think that she’s been acting unreasonable at all. I think that she did what she did because she really thought that it would be best for the morale of the company, and if she believes that we can beat daniel in court, we should trust her. I wouldn’t have voted the way I did if I didn’t believe that.

Jill: You feel the same way, abby?

Abby: I do. I think lily has the company’s best interests at heart.

Jill: Then, I guess I have my answer, don’t I? You two, give dominic hugs from me.

Devon: We will for sure.

Jill: All right, you take care of yourselves.

Abby: Okay, jill’s gone, you can drop the act.

Devon: I know.

Abby: Lily really threw you for a curve, didn’t she?

Lily: Sorry, I’m late.

Mamie: So, how was the board meeting?

Lily: Well, you know, full of surprises.

Mamie: Good or bad?

Lily: Did you know that devon wanted to vote nate back onto the board?

Mamie: No, but that’s wonderful. Nate certainly will have the votes. More power for the winters, where it belongs.

Lily: Well, I hate to burst your bubble, but the motion didn’t pass.

Mamie: And who ruined it?

Lily: I did. I voted against nate.

Mamie: Lily, why would you do that?

Mamie: Nate has done a fine job, surely you can see that.

Lily: Yes, he has, but he has broken our trust in a big way, and I don’t think that he’s earned his seat back on the board yet.

Mamie: Lily, that sounds like an excuse, not a reason.

Lily: Sorry, why are you fighting me on this?

Mamie: Because I’m trying to understand how you could do this to your family.

Lily: Sorry, I didn’t do anything. I made a sound business decision.

Mamie: Jill is already stacking the board against us. She is coming after us. We have to get ready. We have got to have reinforcements before she makes that move.

Lily: My god, mamie, please, this has to stop. All of this– this fighting between you and jill and the division. Enough is enough.

Mamie: I know, you’re right. We’ve certainly had our share. And I’m sure your heart must be broken over this danny romalotti thing and the lawsuit. The last thing you need is a war at work.

Lily: No, it hasn’t been easy.

Mamie: I’m sure it hasn’T. Maybe it’s been the thing that’s been distracting you from what’s really most important at work.

Lily: You did not just say that.

Victoria: Oh, damn it.

Cole: Hey, hey, hey. You are officially off tea duty.

Victoria: No, no, I’ve got this, I’m good.

Cole: No, I know, I know you do. Here, come on. I got it. Come on, let me get it. All right. Have a seat.

Victoria: Do you know, when I gave claire my book on mythology, she compared me to athena. And I bragged and told her that I had actually been known to throw a thunderbolt or two in my time, and now I can’t even pour tea.

Cole: Well, lucky for you, that’s one of my superpowers. And for the record, you have plenty of thunderbolts left in you.

Victoria: Yeah, well, I have gotten through some very difficult things in my life before. And usually, I don’t stop until I get to the other side. But this time, you know, I have to be strong for my daughter. Why do I feel so vulnerable?

Cole: Here we go. Now, to answer your question… the way that I see it is that you’ve been under a lot of stress for a very long time. And you’ve always known how to deal with it. You’ve always known what your next step is. But this, a daughter that we thought we lost? She’s alive? She’s back in our lives, our hearts. All of the love, the– the hope, the need to protect her, it’s primal. And the idea of losing her all over again is overwhelming. It’s enough to pull the rug out from underneath you. I mean, it makes total sense that you’re struggling. But we’re not going to lose her. Claire’s going to come home to us, you have to believe that. And if you need help, I’m here to remind you. But I’m not going anywhere.

Victor: Good. Keep me informed. Well, apparently they’ve arrived at the diner. They’re going to search the area now.

Kyle: Okay, I’ll go to the location where the truck was abandoned, see if there are any houses or businesses with security cameras.

Jack: Well, we could send some of our men.

Kyle: No, jordan took harrison on my watch. Whether claire’s involved or not, this is on me, okay?

Victor: Needless to say, this stays between us. Is that clear?

Jack: I imagine jordan is going to reach out to kyle sometime soon. How do we string her along if she starts making demands?

Victor: I’ll handle her. But you know, I seriously doubt she has shown her full hand yet.

Jack: What makes you so sure?

Victor: Because I know that she loves theatrics. And this time, I’m going to pull down the damn curtain once and for all. Hi, I’m greg.

Victor: Don’t give me all that nonsense. Keep me updated, is that clear? Okay, we need to stay in communication with each other. Time is of the essence. And if it’s the last thing I do, we’re going to get this woman. Where have you been?

Nikki: At victoria and cole’S. Jack, I didn’t expect to see you here.

Jack: How are you holding up, nikki?

Nikki: As well as can be expected, I suppose.

Kyle: I was just on my way out.

Nikki: Kyle, I’m sure that harrison will be found very soon.

Kyle: Thanks, nikki. I’ll be in touch.

Victor: How are victoria and cole holding up?

Nikki: Scared. I wish there was something I could do for them, but really the only thing any of us can do is pray. Uh, if you gentlemen will excuse me.

Victor: Baby, where are you going?

Nikki: We’ll talk about it later.

Devon: Yeah, I thought lily would fully support nate joining the board, so I was definitely surprised when she voted against me.

Abby: Maybe it’s the timing of it all. You kind of sprung it on her.

Devon: Maybe. I think it’s something else, though.

Abby: Listen, I voted in favor of nate joining the board, but I understand lily’s reservations. There are some loyalty issues.

Devon: Yeah, but see, that’s the thing. She was the first person to try to get me to forgive nate for everything he did and welcome him back here. So, I’m having a little bit of a problem believing her loyalty issue. And I think it’s not just that.

Abby: What else is there?

Devon: I think that her and billy have something going on. Just from the looks they were giving each other, and the vibe between them. I don’t know.

Abby: That could mean anything and nothing.

Devon: It could mean nothing, or it could mean that he’s privately working her.

Abby: Working her?

Devon: Yeah.

Abby: How and why?

Devon: I don’t know. Maybe he’s trying to convince her that all the tension that we feel here at the company is coming from me and nate and not him.

Abby: Well, what would his endgame be?

Devon: To get what he wants, always, you know? I just know billy likes playing the victim card a lot, and lily usually buys into it because she’s always had a soft spot for him.

Lily: You know, I can and do run this company separately from dealing with my personal issues.

Mamie: I’ve seen that. You do a superb job, lily. There is nothing easy about helming a company as fractious as chancellor-winters has become.

Lily: Yeah, and who’s contributed to that?

Mamie: So, have you given any further thought to the idea that we divide the company internally?

Lily: You mean the idea that you pitched while I was out of town?

Mamie: Well, short of the ideal, it’s the best solution.

Lily: You know it was my idea to merge the companies, right? So, dividing them would completely go against my vision.

Mamie: There’s nothing wrong with changing your vision.

Lily: Excuse me?

Mamie: Just hear me out. As a family, we have an opportunity to create a true legacy here. Billy and jill, and even chance, they can get in the way of the future that should be ours.

Lily: Mamie, please, please, I’m not going to split this company down the middle.

Mamie: Well, then you better pay attention before it’s too late. Starting with billy. You can’t trust that one, and the sooner you realize that, the better.

Lily: You know, maybe I shouldn’t trust you.

Nikki: Come and get me, jordan. This is what we’ve both been waiting for.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

hey believe happened was a potential road rage incident between two individuals who, according to a witnes they had a how do you even know about this place? I know people. They tell me things. Hey.

[ Chuckles ] I wouldn’t think that this would be your kind of scene. Because? I didn’t think that you were cool enough.

[ Sighs ] My dear, I have been cool since before you were born. I know. I’m sorry. I’m sorry, aunt stella. I shouldn’t have presumed like that. Ah, it’s “stella” in here. Oh. I got a reputation. Okay. Got it, stella. And since we haven’t had a girls’ night out in forever… yeah. …I thought this would be the perfect place for us to, you know, get it going again. Hi. Hey. Hi. I’m so sorry I’m late. I was helping brook lynn with her bachelorette party. Oh, that was nice of you to help out. Oh, well, it’s nice of you to invite me to this dinner. I haven’t been here. Well, not every place is for everybody. Aunt stella’s a regular.

[ Laughs ] Well, I happen to know a place where we can dance all night and have free food and free drinks. If you guys are interested. What is this mystical place? The savoy. Curtis said he was closing it up for tonight. Yeah, he did, but he said he had someplace to be and then was out the door. Well, I wonder what that was about. Well, it had to be good because he said he wouldn’t miss it for the world. Ha, ha! Okay! Now, that’s how it’s done. Wow. See, you always want to give it your best shot. You know, unless… unless what? Unless you want some of these people to leave, you know? Because this right here requires the utmost of finesse. Wow. Really? Oh, yeah. Okay. Listen. So, you know — excuse me. Oh. After you. When the good lord was handing out finesse, I got in line twice. Check it out. Oh! Yeah. Uh, maybe you should have gotten line three times. But I-I’m just getting warmed up. Just getting warmed up here. Let me try it again. Be careful, curtis. When drew gets warmed up, he may try and take down the whole wall and… keep all the pieces for himself. Really, ned? Seriously? Your party banter needs a little bit of work. All right, I’m calling a quartermaine ceasefire. No — no infighting tonight. It’s considered a warm-up for the wedding. Thank you all for coming. Honestly, seeing everyone, I’M… I’m at a loss for words. Someone take a picture. This could be the only time this happens. Thank you, maxie. I’m gonna speak for twice as long now. Yeah. But, no, in all seriousness, we have shared so much over the years. So I thought it was only right and kind of necessary to share this unbelievable celebration with all of you, my family and my friends. And I’ve never done this before, so I’m, uh, kind of nervous, to be honest, but, um, seeing all of your beautiful, loving, supportive faces, I know in my heart, that, um… you got this. I got this. [ Laughs ] Cheers. All: Cheers.

[ Cheers and laughter ] Sorry to interrupt. Quick, uh, psa for the night. As we get going here, let’s all try and remember what hand has the drink and what hand has the hatchet. All right? We do have a doctor in the house, but it’d be a real buzzkill if he’s gotta spend his night stitching up something. Okay, uh, the other thing is, I know some of you think we’re only here for the, uh, open bar of free food. That is not the case. We showed up tonight for this guy… man: Whoo! …Because he shows up for us every single day. The best partner a cop could ever want and the single worst wing man I’ve never seen in my entire life. We are very grateful to brook lynn for taking the single-yet-never-ready- to-mingle harrison chase off the market! I’m not even embarrassed about that. Nor should you be. There’s plenty other things you should be embarrassed about. Brook lynn is not one of them. She knows she’s out of your league, though, right? How could she not? Here’s hoping for brook lynn’s sake he’s a better partner to her than he is to you. And if he isn’t, I know where he lives. And now I know where to get a hatchet. Curtis: Ah! Yeah. To chase. All: To chase. Whoo! Cheers. Cheers. Good job, man. Cheers. Everyone needs to try the signature cocktail, the brook lynn chaser. And there is mocktail versions available if you want one.

Salut! All: Salut! One mocktail, please. Oh, make that two. You don’t need to deprive yourself on my account. I’m not. Tonight’s special. And I want to be clear-headed for all of it. Where’s the music?

[ Gasps ] The music. I forgot the music! How could I forget the music? Oh. Oh, wow. Uh, um… you know people, don’t you? Oh, yes, I know people. The port charles philharmonic is gonna be here in 10 minutes.

[ Sighs ] You’re no help. We have discussed this. I write checks. You chase musicians. Maybe you haven’t done it in a long time, but maybe you have numbers? What are we gonna do? Hey. What’s the deal with the music? You want me to sing? Oh, no. No, I don’T. Uh… hold the singing. The music just arrived. Ah! Oh, please tell me he’s not the stripper.

If curtis closed the club for brook lynn’s party, that means… that somewhere he had to be was chase’s bachelor party. Oh, that’s at the hatchet range. Oh. Drinking beer and throwing hatchets? That’s some combination. What could go wrong? But I’m just glad that he got out. I mean, after everything he’s been through, he just deserves to just cut loose and have some fun. The same could be said for some other people, too. And if you feel like letting loose tonight, then we should go to brook lynn’s party. She’s surrounded by her friends and family, and half of them are crazy, but in a really good way. I don’t know, joss. We didn’t even get an invitation. No, we did, from the mother of the bride herself. Oh, e-excuse me for a second. I-I’ll be right back. I don’t know, joss. I don’t — I don’t know if I feel good enough to go to a big party with people that are happy. And I don’t even have a gift. You don’t need a gift. It’s already handled. We — we got her, like, a spa getaway at the metro court. I don’t know. Trina, it’s one party. And we know everybody there. And if you hate it, then we’ll leave. Hey, you girls better get going. You don’t want to miss out on anything. But aunt stella, we’re having dinner with you.

[ Scoffs ] Not anymore. I gave our table away. What?! What?! Trina, you could have dinner with me anytime. Brook lynn’s party’s only happening tonight. Go. Well, uh, stella, do you want to come? No, no, thank you. But trina’s had enough of family lately. I think she should cut loose with people she’s not related to. Come on, go. Come on. Thank you so much. Oh, you’re welcome. You’re welcome. Thank you, aunt stella. Okay, sweetie. Have a good time, all right? Have fun. I’m so glad you’re here. I wouldn’t have missed it. Ah! So, what do you think of your mom’s vision? She definitely knows how to party. Well, she may need to remind me, because I haven’t been to a party-party in forever. Then we are gonna have to catch you up tonight. That is the plan.

[ Both laugh ] First, I-I want you to know how happy I am for you. Nobody knows better than I do what a great guy you’re marrying. I feel so lucky that chase and I found each other, that we could get past all of the regrettable decis–

my regrettable decisions and — and get here. Well, you’ll probably make some more, and so will chase. But now you know you have the staying power to make it through together. You’re so wise. I’m so married.

[ Laughs ] Laugh a lot. Forgive a lot. How hard could that be? I know, right? You’ll never have a rocky day in your married life. But you and chase are perfect for each other, so you’ll probably have a lot fewer than most couples. Thank you. I have to thank you again for saving deception’s bacon on home & heart the other day. If lucy had talked about our product as much as she talked about herself, we could have all retired. I think I learned more about lucy during that segment than in the whole time we worked together. So did america and the world.

[ Laughs ] Well, we have the footage, and one day we’re gonna watch it and laugh. No, not now, though. Too soon. I have to let you know, for self-preservation, I have moved you to the number-one slot on my speed-dial list. Well, I am always here for you. And I was happy to help. Plus, it feels really good to say that I am not to the face of deception anymore. Well, that makes one of us. So, how’s it going with blaze? She’s lovely. She really is, inside and out, but the ink is barely dry on her contract, so she hasn’t done very much with us yet. I’m sure she’ll be great. Things must be a lot better for you — all this free time to be spending with cody. Are we gonna be planning another bachelorette party soon? I don’t know. Are you gonna take the next step with spinelli? Okay.

[ Laughs ] Feel like I’ve been granted entrée to the inter sanctum of sisterhood. It’s a bridal shower, not a sorority. Oh, spinelli! Let’s get you set up over here. I-I need but a moment to link my playlist to the house sound system, and we will soon be rocking the casbah. I’m gonna need to see that playlist. Well, I’ll have you know it was a huge hit at bruce cooperman’s bar mitzvah last week. Yeah, I’m gonna need to see it. Those two work so well together. They really do. But they keep fighting it. They’re stubborn. They’ll give in eventually. It’s just a matter of time. Yeah, no matter how hard you try, you can’t fight it forever. I guess you’d know something about that. How did you do that? No idea. But that is my first and last shot of the night.

[ Laughter ] Seeing you up and out of that wheelchair is miraculous. Well, it feels better than you might imagine, and the view from up here — a lot better than the view from down there. Front-row seat to a lot of belt buckles, huh?

[ Sighs ] A lot of belt buckles. You know, I wouldn’t be back on my feet, literally and figuratively, if it weren’t for my family. I’m happy for you, curtis. Back at you. How exciting is it that, uh, tj and molly are expecting?

[ Laughs ] My baby is having a baby. Nobody tells you how weird it sounds the first few times you say it. So, I think I’m done with the desk-duty thing. What, after one day? Yeah. Yeah. I mean, who needs more than one day behind the desk, right? I’m ready to get back out there. Okay. What does your physical therapist say? Yeah, I mean, it’s — I’m good. Everything’s coming along fine. I mean, for a man who almost died, yeah. Just — just keep going to the therapy, and don’t miss any sessions. You don’t have to push. And it bears repeating you almost died. Yeah. You — you definitely said that twice, yep. Yeah, man, she’s right, and don’t sweat it. We got you covered. You’re doing invaluable work at the station behind a desk. Stop it. Thank you. Thank you. That’ll be enough of the gloating. I feel nothing but sympathy for you. Yeah? All those months I was off, I would have given anything to get back on the job. Department’s very lucky to have both of you. You know, not everyone’s cut out to be a cop, right? And when you are, it’s to be honored and thanked. You’re invaluable. You really are. Uhhh.

dex, you made it. I’m glad you’re here. Appreciate you inviting me. Ah, you worked your tail off on the job standard test today. You deserve a few beers. Feels like there’s a couple guys here who think I deserve one of those in the back of the head. Oh, some of them probably do. And some of them just look like that all the time. But you are here to celebrate the end of my bachelorhood, and you are here on my invitation! So it is officially time for you to kick back and enjoy. Thanks, man. Mm. I’d say any day, but if you keep performing like you did this morning on the jst, you’re not gonna need anybody running interference for you. So, does every recruit have to run the gauntlet? Surprised you have more than five cops on the force.

[ Chuckles ] Yeah. Well, dex might get more attention than others. His — his last job was riding shotgun for sonny. Ah. Okay. Exactly. Is your dad gonna come here tonight? No, I don’t think so. He’s home with violet and the sitter, which reminds me I can’t stay out much later than midnight. Turn into a pumpkin? Yeah. And that’s when the sitter leaves. Oh.

[ Laughs ] Okay, please tell me we’re good to go. It was more complicated —

[ Clears throat ] Um, take it away, boss. Oh! Okay. Oh, take that for me. Um, welcome, everybody. Uh, in case I have not met you yet, don’t worry, I will. But, um, I’m lois cerullo, and I am the mother of the bride. And tonight, we are celebrating brook lynn.

[ Cheers and catcalls ] Yes, yes, and I cannot tell you how proud I am of my daughter. I mean, she is juggling the music biz, the beauty biz, and true love, and you are doing such a beautiful job, in spite of her family, ’cause, you know, we can be a lot. There is no “we.” There is a “we.” Anyway, brook lynn, you bring out the best of all of us. And, you know, I wish I could take credit for that, but I can’t, ’cause the first time I ever looked at this beautiful face, I knew I was the lucky one to be her mother. And so, we are all

so lucky to have brook lynn in our lives. Chase is a lucky man. And I am lucky, too. Oh, come on, honey. This is your night. Chase is having his own party. And by the way, if anybody wants to see any baby pictures of brook lynn, I got my phone — okay, okay. Give it. Give me.[ Speaks indistinctly ] Let the games begin!

Salut! Not only are you standing, but you throwing hatchets better than everybody else?

[ Chuckles ] Yeah, you know, I worked on my arms when I was in physical therapy, too. But I gotta say, jordan, I, uh… I also did a lot of processing. I never thought I was gonna walk again. And now, now that I am, oh, there’s some things I want to do. Places I want to go. I want to walk, run, climb, hike, swim. And there’s some people that I want to give my time and energy to. And some people you don’t? Yeah, there was, uh… there were some things that I thought were important before that just don’t seem to matter at all now. Chances I took where the reward was never gonna match the risk. And, uh… I don’t know if it’s fate or — or the universe or whatever, but I have a new opportunity for a reset, and I’m not gonna waste it. All right, well, here is to fate, the universe, and that reset. No one deserves it more. Thank you. Excuse me. Hey. Hey, jordan, you’re up. Oh. I guess I am. Yeah. Thunk! Did we say we were gonna play against each other? We didn’t say we weren’T. Okay, I have no idea what I’m doing. It’s not a competition. It’s a bachelor party, right? So, just go ahead. Give it a throw. I’ll hold that, and then we’ll just take it from there. You got this.

[ Laughs ] That was awful. That was not awful! Most people’s hatchet doesn’t stick in the board the first time that they throw. That was actually really good. Mm. Thank you. And thanks for the save. I have no idea what you’re talking about. Oh, don’t misunderstand. I’m really happy for curtis. His recovery is a miracle.

But it’s still not easy running into your ex in public. I get it. You could tell, huh? Only because I’ve been there, right? You gotta hang out with your ex and you gotta talk about how things are going and put that smile on your face like your life depends on it. Oh, my gosh. I was smiling for so long, I thought my face would cramp up. And then there’s the conversation. Oh. I’ve moved on. You’ve moved on. Isn’t it moving on the best? But you’re happy, right? Because I mean, like, I’m so happy, too. So happy it hurts. -Plate! -Saucer. Blaze: Mushroom! No! No! Table. Come on. This is a wedding, guys. Where do you see this at a wedding? Oh, hors d’oeuvre tray! No. Sasha: Cake tray. It’s a cake tray. Maxie: You’re getting warmer! Cake pedestal! Yes! Oh, finally!

[ Cheers and laughter ] -Rose petals. -Cookies. Sachet? Oh, uh, pearls. Olivia: A gown and peignoir. Oh, please. What about that looks like a gown and peignoir? I don’t know! Ice! Ice! No, it has to be wedding themed. There’s ice at a wedding. Bird! Birdseed! Birdseed! Birdseed! Yes! Birdseed!

[ Cheers and applause ] “Hotel bergamot, ithaca, walking in and finding brook lynn looking a little overwhelmed but completely determined with a baby in her arms.” That’s not you. No. Liv? Not me. All right. I’ll give you guys a hint. I called my cousin michael for a ride, and he brought the person who he trusts most in this world. Willow! Willow! Aw! Standing on stage at the nurses’ ball watching linc brown get escorted out by detective dante falconeri, courtesy of brook lynn’s epic takedown.” -Whoo-hoo! -Yeah! Blaze! Brook lynn: Yes! One of my favorite moments ever. Mine, too. -Yeah! -Excellent.

[ Music plays ]

[ Laughter ] -Go, go, go! -Nope.

[ Laughter ] Woman: Oh! Go!

[ Music stops ]

[ All cheering and exclaiming ]

[ Music plays ] -Aah! -Uh-oh.

[ Laughter ]

[ Music stops ]

[ All exclaiming ] I wanted to go to the bar anyway.

[ Music plays ] -Come on, kristina! -Lois!

[ Laughter ] Brook lynn: Come on, ma!

[ Music stops ]

[ All exclaiming ]

[ Music plays ] Let’s go, let’s go! -Come on, come on! -Go, go, go!

[ Cheering ]

[ Music stops ]

[ All exclaiming ] The winner and champion — granny!

[ Cheers and applause ] Here’s your prize.

[ Laughter ] Anthony: This making you uncomfortable?Good.

Mr. Spinelli, I’d like to know the truth, please. Were you instructed to make sure I won? I assure you I was completely impartial. Uh-huh. Well, if I ever find myself at an event again where you are dj, I better not win. Am I clear? Crystal. I’ve seen your deception campaigns. You’re gonna be a very hard act to follow. Nothing you can’t handle. You’re gonna be great. Stick with maxie. She knows what she’s doing. I saw you on home & heart . You made it look really easy. It’s easy when the products are great. And the people are really great, too. Most of the time. So why’d you leave? It was time for a change. And honestly, I got tired of having to worry about my looks all the time. I’m sure you know what I’m talking about. You’re a performer. Ugh. It can be exhausting having to worry about what the public sees when they look at you. Yeah. Well, it’s a lot easier when you have someone special standing beside you. It really is. That’s sweet.

[ Chuckles ] Ladies, strike a pose!

[ Camera shutter clicking ] Fantastic choices. You — you look great. You look like nobody paid your ransom. Am I supposed to be enjoying this?

[ Camera shutter clicking ] So very glamorous. Well done. Well done. Well done.

[ Camera shutter clicking ] Baby’s first party! Yay!

[ Camera shutter clicking ] All right, uh, well, since we’ve all established the fact that , uh, you are not a typical bachelor, we thought the typical bachelor party gifts would, I don’t know, maybe end up in an attic somewhere that your kids discover in 20 years, or a landfill. So, uh, we decided to get you a couple of things that, um, well, were a little more meaningful. So please take this out of my hand right now. It was painful to get for you. You’ll understand as soon as you open it up. All right. What is this? Are you kidding me? It… red sox world series champs? -Yeah. -Yeah. Just remember… what?! …The yankees have won the series 27 times to the red sox’s 9, okay? So you got a little catching up to do. Well, that doesn’t make this any less sweet. Thanks, partner. Yeah. Congratulations. Dude.

[ Laughs ] And,

uh, listen, this one’snowhere near as spectacular, but, um, it’s from your family. We love you. We couldn’t be happier for you. Violet picked it out. She did? Yeah, I just said that. Uh, dad and I couldn’t decide, and she picked those. Well, your daughter’s got good taste. She thinks you do, too. Brook lynn is — she’s special. Don’t I know it? Congratulations, bro. Chase: Thanks. And, uh, I want to thank you all for not putting me through the ordeal of opening bachelor-appropriate gifts. Uh, the real gift is having you all here, um, celebrating with me. And, yes, I know that brook lynn is way too good for me. But guess what? I still get to marry her.

[ Cheers and laughter ] Drew: Yeah, you do! All right, to chase and brook lynn, yeah? -To chase! -To brook lynn. -Okay. Congrats. -Congrats. -Cheers, cheers, cheers. -Cheers. -Nice. Nice. -Cheers, cheers. All right, so it’s an open bar, and the drinks are called the brook lynn chaser. So I’m gonna go get some. Oh, wait, no, no, no, not the — okay. Oh. Oh! Oh. Sorry about that. That’s fine. It was close. Good to see you. Yeah. Whoo! That could’ve been more awkward. Yeah, true. You could have doused her with your drink. Thought about it. Trina! Oh! So glad you made it! Me, too! Thanks for coming. Thanks for inviting us. I mean, this place looks great. I love it. Oh, thanks in large part to josslyn. Aw! Please. I was just taking orders. This is so exciting. Are there any nerves? Oh, there were, but I have been downing these brook lynn chasers all night. I’ve never felt better. Tell us what you think. All right. Oh, I think we’re gonna have some fun. Ah! Well, the bar is open all night long. Unfortunately, we just finished the games. Ah, no, we’re doing more games later. Right now we are doing the gifts. Oh! -Gifts! -Okay, gifts.

[ Gasps ] A day of relaxation at the metro court spa? Josslyn, trina, this gift is perfect! I’m gonna save it until after our honeymoon because I’m gonna have so much jet lag when we get back. I’m gonna need some extra pampering. Where are you going? Florence. Can you believe it? I’ve wanted to go my entire life and chase surprised me. All: Aw!

[ Clears throat ] Uh… this one is from me. What?

[ Gasps ] Ma. So, when you were a little girl, you used to always go through my jewelry box and try everything on — all my necklaces, my bracelets, my rings, the real stuff and the costume jewelry, but, um, this one was always your favorite, so now it’s yours. Ma, thank you for everything. Oh, I love you, baby.

Do you have a death wish? Death wish? Whether or not you make it through the academy and get your badge, sonny corinthos never forgets. Everything cool over here, calvin? Hey, yeah. Yeah, it’s cool. Yep? Just given the would-be rookie here some advice. Hey, you guys know dex? He’s one of the reasons, uh, I’m still alive and able to be here and keep making you look bad.

[ Chuckles ] Thanks for trying. Listen, man, uh, you should probably be prepared for that to continue happening if you join the force. I appreciate the gift and the speech, and I won’t forget the gesture if you ever try to take the leap again.

[ Laughs ] Hey, as you should, finn. I think you could make some woman, uh, moderately happy. Oh! [ Laughs ] I agree with michael, except not about the moderate part. You deserve to have someone great in your life. I have someone great in my life. I have violet. But I know what you’re saying, and, um, maybe I’m starting to believe that might be true. Believe it.

[ Tapping glass ] So, for those of you who don’t know, I’m ned quartermaine, father of the bride. Chase… since the, uh, dreaded day that my daughter reached dating age, one thing has become abundantly clear. No one is good enough for her. But you come closer than anybody ever has. Welcome to the family. -Hear, hear! -Hear, hear! Uh, most people know chase the cop. But as a nightclub owner, I know chase the reluctant superstar.

[ Laughter ] So here’s to you and brook lynn bringing out the best in each other on stage and off. -Yeah! -Cheers! -Cheers. -Cheers. Uh, to my partner, even though he’s a red sox fan. I didn’t know! I didn’t know until we started to work together. But, um, buddy, listen, you’re more than a partner. You’re family. So, to you, brother. And to the life you’re about to embark on with your beautiful bride that you so richly deserve. Cheers. Thank you. All: Cheers. Are we dancing or what?! Hit it, spinelli. Consider it…hit!

[ Dance beat plays ] Granny, may I have the honor of this dance? You know I don’t dance. But I’m certainly touched that you asked me. Let’s go, trina. You’re up! They’re great out there, aren’t they? Yeah. Too bad they don’t know what they’re doing, though. Bensonhurst in the house! Bensonhurst in the house!

[ Cheering ]

[ Laughter ] Oh! Ooh. This baby is totally going crazy right now. Oh, my gosh. It must love this music. Spinelli’s got a great set list. I wish I could stay. No, no, no, you have to go. You’re right, I do. Yeah. But just remember, you owe me a dance. Of course.

I can’t do wrong, I can’t do wrong come on, tracy, let’s show them how it’s done.

Oh, oh, oh, oh excuse me? This is brook lynn’s party. We’ve gotta celebrate with her.

This is the best day of my life! You know, if my grandmother was here, she’d be out on the floor. You know what? You are so right. Bobbie would be. And I will have you know that spencers are not the only people that can rise to the occasion. Look out.

[ Laughs ]

[ Cheering ] Olivia: Go, tracy! All: Go, tracy! Go, tracy!

[ Cheering ] All right, I see you. What I lack in ability, I make up for in commitment!

[ Laughs ]

Can’t do wrong, I can’t do wrong

when I get the feeling oh. Oh, twice in one night. Are you following me?

[ Chuckles ] My bad. You know, josslyn, I don’t know what your problem is with me, but you might as well just drop it because it’s not working. My god. My problem with you, kristina, is that you refuse to see your dad for who he really is, and you go on and on like it’s some fairy tale about sonny corinthos, and you completely ignore all of the damage that he’s caused. Or tell me, do you really not know what he did to dex? I saw what you did with dex and the guys just now. Oh. Yeah, well, you know, I feel like I owe dex. He did keep me alive until those paramedics showed up. But it’s also the kind of thing you do because you’re you. You know, I gotta wonder, uh, if dex’s connection to sonny would trump any qualifications he may have for joining the force. I mean, these guys aren’t gonna let him off the hook. They’re all gonna think that he’s gonna be giving intel to sonny. I know. Well, dex is gonna have to prove himself. Isn’t he? But, you know, I-I can’t help but wonder that you might be worried that he would give the pcpd intel to bring your father down. It’s fine. Just… go join the party. Leave dex to me, yeah? Hey, everyone, if I could just have your attention, please, for a moment, uh, we have a very special guest with us tonight, and, um some of you may know her as the other woman in chase’s life.

[ All exclaiming ] What? Hey!

[ Cheers and applause ] Aw!

I hope you don’t mind me crashing your party, but when your former duet partner marries your current manager, you gotta celebrate, make a toast, and buy a round or two. Thank you. Chase is the kind of partner you dream about. Yeah, we have different dreams. God, I hope so! Chase brings things to the stage very few ever can. First of all, he brings that incredible voice. But he also brings calm. And his calm creates a space where you can be great. It’s one of the most generous gifts I’ve ever experienced in my career, and I’m sure you guys have all experienced that same kind of generosity working with him. I love brook lynn. And I know you’re gonna be so great for her. Because you already are for the rest of us. So, let’s drink to this guy and to the wedding to come. It’s gonna be one to remember.

[ Laughs ] All: Cheers. I’m having such a good time. Can we take a selfie? Of course. Uh, who are you sending that to? Uh, my aunt stella. Um, I didn’t think I wanted to come to the party, but she told me to come, and she was right. We still got it. Oh, we more than got it. We’re teaching a master class out here, huh?

[ Both laugh ] And we got a happy brook lynn. And we did it. The party’s a huge success. Oh, hey, it’s not over until she’s dancing with her husband at the reception. Hallelujah.

[ Humming] Don’t dump your issues onto me just because you’re drunk. Oh, excuse me? I know that you’ve been drinking. And obviously, now you are finally saying what you’ve been waiting to say, but it doesn’t even make sense because dex doesn’t work for my dad anymore, so — you want to know why dex doesn’t work for your dad anymore? It’s the same reason that me and dex aren’t together. And why is that, josslyn? Because he couldn’t stand your holier-than-thou attitude and your virtue signaling either? No, actually, it’s because your beloved father — he sent dex to go kill cyrus in the hospital. I guess it wasn’t enough for sonny to almost kill him with his bare hands in the church, so he sent dex to go finish the job. Maybe you can live with that, but I can’T.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

So honey, how was your first day? We haven’t even had a chance to talk. I know, I was really tired last night. Um, yeah, no, it went okay. I mean, it’s a huge relief that all my classes are in the central building, so. Well, yeah, that’s, that’s good. And since you are back in school, I’m returning this to you.

What, so you can keep tabs on me? I am giving you an opportunity to earn your trust back with me, young lady, and I hope and pray that you do.

You know, I didn’t start drinking coffee until I was about 19, 20. Really? Yeah. I was told that it stunts your growth. That’s so weird. I think it just gives me anxiety. Great. Where is our waiter at? Finn usually has the early shift and I haven’t seen her at all. You’re right. That is weird.

You know what? Uh, I’ll be right back.

There you are. You two took off early this morning. Yeah, we went for a walk. Do you have a minute? I need to talk to you. Okay. You know, I stopped by the Spectator yesterday for their photography job. Yeah? Yeah. Well, when I was walking out, I overheard Leo on the phone. He said, He left. I’ll give the guy every ring and endorsement.

Work every angle I can. So what? Well, he was obviously talking to you, Sloane. Me? Aaron, why would he be talking to me? No one knew why I went there or why. Except for you. So why don’t you tell me what’s going on between you and Leo?

No, no, this is not what I wanted at all. Did you spell that with a Y? Yeah, uh, not at all, buddy boy. Ah, the sound of agitation in the morning, like a modern day birdsong. What’s going on? It’s a press release about Bella closing. It’s not at all what I approved and I’m just annoyed, obviously as you, you can tell.

Did you read this? No, but I know what happened. Reliving it is just like putting salt in the wound. Oh. And yet still you didn’t have any qualms about running straight to Maggie once I told you the magazine was folding. Ah,

good morning. Good morning, Kristen. You’re off to an early start, you see. Indeed I am. First stop are the DiMera offices, then the DA’s office. Ah, such a bummer. And then what? Off the play pickleball with Mark Zuckerberg, perhaps? Mock me all you want, but the company won’t run itself. And once the board votes, I will be the permanent CEO.

Ooh, and an outstanding one at that, I’m sure. If the vote goes forward without a hitch, that is. Oh, I’m sure it will. And you’d be wise to prepare for that eventuality, Kristen. Oh, I am prepared. Oh, Well prepared.

Like sand through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives.

Did you hear about the bistro opening in its doors again? Hmm, I saw it on social media. Ah, so you’ll be lunching there from now on, supporting our little brother. Wild horses couldn’t drag me to that dreary place. Oh, come on! Wouldn’t it be entertaining to actually watch Stefan work? I mean, he claimed he was working at the bistro before it shut down, but, uh, knowing him, he was just delegating, and now he is in charge all by himself.

I mean, can you imagine his face when he finds out he actually has to do stuff for hours? It would be like Putting a filet mignon in front of a vegan. And yet, you gave him a very sweet deal, D. A. Demare. I mean, you could have told him prison for years, making traffic signs and license plates. But you let him walk, and an outsider might have a few questions regarding that decision.

But as a member of the family To me, it is crystal clear. It is? Oh, well, do enlighten me. Oh, I will, I will. Uh, you’re playing the long game. It would have been in your best interest if you sent Stephan off to a white collar prison. Out of sight, out of mind, until a plural hearing came and, uh, what, in a decade or so?

Then he’d, uh, be as much as a threat to your grip on power as a housefly. But that didn’t happen. Therefore, you have something else on your mind. Well I’d love to continue to sit here and listen to your fan fiction, Kristen. I really would, but I am late for a breakfast date with Nicole. Oh, come on. I am right, am I not?

Trying to find where the bodies are buried, are you, Kristen? What bodies? Certainly not mine. We shall see about that.

Fine. I did. I called Leo. And yes, we spoke about you. Look, Leo, he kind of owes me. Owes you what? Fine. You know, for going above and beyond as his attorney. I called because I wanted him to put in a good word for you at The Spectator. I was trying to help you, Eric.

You’re my husband. You know, I want your photography business to take off. I want you to find joy in it the way I find joy in my work. Honey, look at us. You know, we can be the power couple. Beautiful, successful. The kind of people look at an inmate. The life that people say, God, I want what they have. Sloane, that’s not me.

You know that’s not who I am. I’m sorry. And I don’t think this is what this is all about at all.

Pump the brakes, mister. I did not run to Maggie’s. Oh, maybe you drove there. Oh, funny. Look, Maggie is my friend. And she’s also my sponsor. And I feel like I let her down. In fact, I let the whole Bella team down. You know, something with that sort of weight, it can have Adverse effects on one’s sobriety. It’s high stakes for me, Alex.

Why I, I, I had to do an act of self care and speak to my sponsor. Okay. Okay, I get it. You’re right. See? And all you had to do was ask and not accuse. You’re right, I’m sorry. I’m sorry. It’s just that after you told her, she came back to me and insisted that I gave her a job back at the company. Which I was completely unprepared for, and now I’m stuck with her.

You said yes? I mean, Theresa, there wasn’t much of an option for a no. She said if I didn’t accept her assistance, she was gonna take it to the board, which is the last thing I need. So in order to keep the board at bay, I’m bringing her back, but on my terms. Huh. Well played, Mr. Kiriakis. Yeah. You do have some good business instincts.

That’s why you’re still CEO. That I am. You know, Maggie is a badass too. And she’s a brilliant businesswoman. Honestly, this could be a really great thing for you, Alex. Because with Maggie working alongside you at the helm, you two could take Titan Industries, I don’t know, to the next level.

Mom, listen, I know I haven’t been the most trustworthy person lately, to put it mildly, but I promise you, I’m going to try to be better at it. Okay? Okay, honey, don’t just try. Do. Okay? Hey, Holly. Hey. Sophia, how you doing? I’m good. Better, now that my bestie’s back. So, you ready to go over Mrs. King’s spring physics worksheet?

Not really. Are we doing three dimensional motion again? Unfortunately. But, we can grab a couple lattes, because I think we’re gonna need them. Yeah, sure. Yeah. Okay. Love you, Mom. Love you, sweetheart. See you later. Okay, be good. Okay. Come home after school. Bye. So, you like it? Sugar and a splash of cream. What are you doing?

Well, Cook called in sick, so Uncle Roman’s back there taking over as Gordon Ramsay and he can’t be in the front of the back of the house, not on a morning like this. So, I’m gonna help him out. Okay, are you sure? You might be late for, uh, school. Yes, no, I’m not gonna be late for school, but you’re gonna be late to pick up Rachel, and I got a scone for her.

Oh, I’m fine. That was nice, okay. Alright, um, good luck. I got this. Alright.

Hi there. Fancy seeing you here, Tate. Nice apron. Oh, thank you. Yeah, I’m just helping out my Uncle Roman this morning. He’s a little short staffed. That is so sweet of you, to help out your family. Uh, thanks, I’m not hungry. You’re welcome. You should look at the specials. We have this, uh, French toast bacon thing.

I think you’d really like it. Oh, let me look.

You know what? I’ll have the pancakes and, uh, no, wait, scratch that. I’ll have the egg white omelette with avocado. And can you make a white hot cocoa with almond milk? Yeah, you got it. Thank you. See anything you like? I’ll just stick with coffee. Extra cream, please. Okay.

Everything okay? Yeah. I guess.

I don’t know, I just It really sucks that I can’t fix things at Bella. Hey, that is not your fault. No, I know it’s fine. It’s just I’m trying to do things now that are within my control. You know, like, make calls on behalf of the marketing team because they’re so talented and they’re so hardworking and I, I want to help as many people as possible to get their next gig.

Wow, look at you. Thinking of others during a time of crisis. Well, that’s what a leader does, right? Except I don’t really have much to lead right now. But you do. Right? I mean, maybe you could move some people around within the company, like, like you offered to do with me. Maybe, yeah, but that offer was meant for you.

And that offer still stands. Thank you, but I have to respectfully decline. I don’t know how I feel about corporate America anymore. I don’t think it’s for me. No? So what’s next? What is for Miss Teresa Donovan?

Eric, I don’t know what you’re thinking, but it’s It’s what I’m seeing. Look at this. Oh, what about it? What about it? We talked about this before. The numbers, they’re not adding up. What are you talking about, babe? Look, we already went through this, okay? I told you, we’re fine. No, no, Sloane, you manipulated the numbers to make them work.

You showed me this the other day. It was a trick. What do you mean? This. They’re not adding up. There’s a lot of money here that’s not accounted for. I think I’m starting to realize what is really going on.

Oh, there you are. I’m sorry. I’m late family stuff. Kristen, how’d you guess? Oh, it’s just the life force vacated your eyes. I suppose that would give it away. Yeah. Well, are you ready for some breakfast? Oh, I wish I could, but I can’t sweetheart. I need to get to the Demira office this morning. A couple of action items that need to be addressed.

Action items. Mm-Hmm. I’m assuming neither of them have to do with. No, no, not my concern at the moment. And I will not be attending the so called soft opening today either. Aw, since you’re not going to bed, can we at least schedule a lunch? I wish I could, but I’ve got depositions and case reviews as well today.

Geez, well maybe we could Pencil in a shoulder massage, honey. I’m, I’m worried about you running yourself ragged. Not just as DA, but moonlighting as a CEO of DiMera. There is nothing to worry about. I feel focused and determined. And I see a bright future ahead for the company. More value than ever for the shareholders and the people.

Peaceful citizens of Salem feeling safer because I’m their DA. I thrive on chaos, you know this. Yes, it’s kind of obvious. And I love you, Nicole, for being right by my side. I love you. I love you.

Dear Mr. Shin, I am writing to you. No, Kristen, nothing in writing.

Is Rachel ready? Oh, please, come on in. Kristen, where is Rachel? We’re going to be late for school. Rachel is gone. I’m sorry, I’m sorry, what are you talking about? No! She insisted on attending, uh, early start art class. And they have this avant garde doodling that she loves. And, uh, I just had one of the drivers take her.

You could have texted me. You could have called me, and I could have taken her. I’m sorry, I just, I got caught up in a tete a tete with EJ and I completely lost track of time. But you know what, now that you’re here, we could have breakfast. We should chat.

We could have cook whip us up an omelette and some Kristen, I’m not interested in breakfast. I was interested in taking my little girl to school, but obviously that’s not gonna happen. So I’ll pick her up, okay? I’m sorry, that’s not going to happen either. She has to stay late for her tutoring. Then I will pick her up after tutoring.

Are little girls being tutored and you didn’t tell me about it? Well, I was going to tell you at some point. I suppose now is as good as any. Okay, listen, Brady. Rachel is um, She’s having trouble in math. I mean, there are three kinds of people in this world, right? Those who are good at math and those who aren’t.

Rachel is, is seeing a tutor and you didn’t tell me. I’m telling you right now. Tell me right now. I’m gonna go. Well, when I told Alex about Rachel having a tutor, I mean, all he asked me was where I found the tutor and uh, is Rachel cool with it? What are you trying to say? What I’m trying to say is that Alex is very supportive and he’s interested.

Maybe it’s because he’s crazy about Rachel and they’re like two peas in a pod. Yeah. I don’t think so, Kristen. I don’t think our daughter gives a damn about Alex, and I’m pretty sure Alex feels the same way about her. I mean, I can understand how threatened you are to that, but it is true, Brady. Well, I’ll just have to talk to Rachel about what the truth is when I speak to her tonight.

And then we’ll find out if she and Alex are like two peas in a pod.

What does Theresa want to be when she grows up? Well I’m really good with fashion. I’m really into it. Especially that whole, like, Y2K look that’s so in vogue right now. And, you know, I’m a really big foodie. So, I don’t know. Maybe I could, um, Maybe I could start a vlog. Call it T for Teresa. Or something like that.

And then I can hire my own interns and make my own schedule. I mean, it sounds great.

Gosh, I wonder how much of Maggie you’re going to see now that she’s engaged to Constantine. What? Huh? What did you say? Um, oh, I thought you knew that. I literally just found out when I went to go see Maggie. Honestly, I, please don’t say anything. I was told in confidence. Okay, yeah, fine. I won’t say anything.

But what the hell is Maggie thinking? Ugh.

Oh, AJ, I have to admit, I’m a little embarrassed. What? Why? Cause you have two jobs and I don’t even have one. Sweetheart, you don’t need to worry about that. Not anymore. You’re in the mirror. So what? I still have an ego and I’ve always worked and supported myself. That’s who I am. And I respect that. I do.

You’re ambitious and obviously talented in so many ways. I feel like there’s a but coming. Well, there is. I mean, darling, for you to go back to work right now, I just don’t think that’s a good idea.

He is such a snack, is he not? My god, I wish he was on the menu. Uh, what answer did you get for question five? How can you study right now when the yummiest guy in Salem is like orbiting our table? Because my mom’s literally gonna kill me if I don’t pull all A’s across the board. Yeah, fair point. Um, tengo que ir al baño go?

Perdóname, por favor.

So Did you tell her about us? No, and it’s literally killing me not to. We tell each other everything. But she also tells her mom everything too, so Okay, right. Well, that’s probably smart then. I got myself one of those cheap pay as you go phones, so we can interface without the parental units finding out.

How romantic.

I should, I should get back to work. I don’t want my Uncle Roman reporting on me to Mom and Dad. Tate, I’m really happy to see you. Same.

Honestly, babe, I think you’re way off base here. Sloane, I’ve counseled many couples. And learned that money issues stem from all sorts of addictions. Drugs, alcohol, shopping. Shopping? Yes. Really? Yes, really. That is, unless you Unless what? Unless you have some sort of gambling addiction. Oh my God, do you even hear yourself right now?

All I’m saying is, if you have a problem, just please, tell me what it is. We can get through this together. Eric, I Okay, then what is it? So please just tell me what’s going on.

I’m your husband. I’m here for you. And I’m pleading for you to tell me the truth. You want

the truth? Yes. The truth is, is that you pretend like you want to work. But actually, you just want to stay at home all day with the baby. What? Yeah. What are you talking about? You know, you are projecting your anxieties of finances onto me. And that’s okay. I’m a big girl. I can take it. That’s not even what this is about.

Well, then what is it about? No, you know what, Eric? It is. Sure it is. And it’s okay. I can pay the bills. I can pay the rent, the car, the utilities. You got student loans? What? Throw them on me too. I can handle it. No, don’t. Don’t what? Don’t make yourself out to be a martyr.

I’m gonna be the adult here and take Jude for a walk before I say something that is half as hurtful as what you just did.

And Rachel will probably say that he is tall and funny and he does a great impression of Bugs Bunny. And then she will call him mad dope. And if you don’t know what that means, it’s totally amazing.

Yeah, I’m totally not buying it. Yeah, whatever you’re up to, I don’t know what it is, but believe me, I’m It ain’t gonna work. This makeup is a great shot to you, Brady, but it’s not all about you. And as much as I would love to just sit and chat some more about my private life, I’ve got a lot of things to do.

Let yourself out.

Maggie is the smartest woman I know, but I think that she’s thinking with her heart. If I was always thinking with my heart, I’d probably be flipping cocktails at a tiki bar in Bali. Oh God, I don’t even want to think about where I would be. Look, forgive me for doing a little psychology 101 here, but I, I think that, Through Constantine, maybe she’s trying to hold on to that connection to Victor.

Uh, yeah, I don’t know. I mean, maybe, regardless. Constantine? I mean, the guy just rubs me the wrong way, you know, the idea of this sleazeball getting his hands on my father’s money. Yeah, that’s not gonna happen. It’s, it’s, he’s too respectful to do that to him. Please, please, Theresa, really? This guy, he just, he gives off this like, Uriah Heep vibe.

Just swarmy and greedy. And once Victor’s will goes through probate, the money’s gonna be accessible. I don’t know what the hell Maggie’s thinking. Like, marrying a con man.

You know what I just saw? A poster for prom. Do you think Tate will go? I have no idea. I wish I was brave enough to ask him. You’re like Totally over him after everything that happened, right? To be honest, I, like, was never really into him in the first place. Cool. Cool. Just checking. So, are you going? Uh, I don’t know.

Well, I’m guessing your mom might shut that down, right? Uh, I hope not. I mean, she did just give me my phone back this morning. So, kinda seems like she’s starting to trust me more. But, like Also, it’s prom, which is like a pretty big deal, right? And wouldn’t it be cool if we could double date? I mean, obviously we’ll take tons of pics of your house and get a limo.

Yeah, no, that all sounds great. Um, but if we don’t get moving, we’re gonna be late to school. Right.

Earth is working, not a good idea. Okay, okay, I misspoke. Bye bye. I meant to say that where you work might be the issue. Since I’m CEO of Demira, you can’t exactly go back to your post at Basic Black. They’re a direct competitor. Well, I wasn’t planning on going back there. Hell, I don’t even know what I want to do, EJ.

All I know is that my life has shifted yet again, and I find myself with too much time on my hands that I don’t know what to do with. And I need something more fulfilling than meddling in teenage love and planning charity teas. Of course you do. Of course you do. And I’m sure wherever you choose to work, you will be a great asset.

In fact, you know, I could use your talents back at the Mirror. It’s not really my vibe right now. Fair enough. So what exactly is your vibe? Well, I do have some ideas.

It’ll be so much fun. Okay, okay, okay. Just think about it. You go shopping, try on a ton of cute prom dresses. Oh, you know what I was thinking? Why don’t we start a dance and trend it? We can call it the Cupid Shuffle. There’s already a dance called the Cupid Shuffle. Really? Yes, really. Oh, damn. Okay, look, I’ll talk to my mom, see what she says.

But I can’t make any promises, cause she does keep me on a pretty tight leash these days. Holly! Wait!

Junk, junk, recycle. Catalog, catalog. Junk, junk, and

Oh, Brady. Hey, Nicole. I was just here to pick up Rachel to take her to school. But Kristen, she made sure that didn’t happen. I’m sorry. It’s fine. How was,

how was Holly’s first day back at school? Um, fine. Well, at least that’s all she told me. Fine. Teenagers and their often limited vocabulary. How about Tate? Same. He said, Fine. Fine, Dad. It’s fine. Yeah, that’s pretty much what he said. Uh, yeah. Well, you know what? You know, we can just put that in the win category.

They’re progressing. Both of them. Yes. Absolutely. Brady, you know how much I’ve always loved Tate. Just as much as I know you’ve always loved Holly. And I know that we agreed that they can’t be friends for a while. I know. Um, maybe ever. Yeah. But I really hope that we can be friends again. One day. How about now?

You know what? How about always? Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa,

whoa, whoa. You are getting way too caught up in all these things that are never gonna happen. They’re probably never gonna happen. Probably isn’t good enough, Theresa. You know, I read a business book just recently. You know what the first chapter of it was called? Always anticipate, always plan. Okay, cool.

I’d love to hear all about the sage advice in this book. But first, can you do something for me? Will you just turn around? Come on, turn around. Okay, what? Oh. God. Gosh. Oh my goodness. You are so tense. Oh my god. Right, right there, please. Oh my god. Mr. Kyriakos. You really, really, you need to relax. See? All better.

Now go to the gym now. Okay, um.

You’re really good at that massage thing, by the way. I’m gonna go take a shower.

I know, Jude. You don’t like it when Mommy and Daddy fight. Sometimes, grown ups have disagreements. And this time, it’s because Someone doesn’t know what’s in his own best interest.

Oh, hello Sloane. A. J.? Well, this was fun. Can I ask you something? Make it quick. Why did you give Stefan such an incredibly generous deal, only to sabotage it with the judge? My family situation is none of your concern. It’d serve you best to remember that.

Little does he know, Jude. Little does he know. Brady, I am so glad that you still want to be friends. And after all the, the torment that Holly has put you and your family through, that is very generous of you. Holly’s a kid. I know she didn’t have malicious intent, Nicole. She made a mistake. Yeah, but I should have been more attentive to her.

I was just so consumed with grief after losing my son. Don’t, don’t, don’t go there. Don’t go there. Look, like I said, kids make mistakes. Hey, we’ve made our fair share of mistakes, so, you know. And they’re kids kids will make mistakes, and they’re kids kids will make mistakes. It’s part of life. Yeah. Nick.

It’ll be okay. I promise. Oh, I hope so, Brady. I truly hope so. Uh, you forgot your notebook. Oh my god, Tate. Thank you. Yeah. Um, can’t believe I left this at the pub. So lame, right? Look at you. All out of breath. You really sprinted after us, huh? Yeah, I just, uh

Deacon: Thanks.

[ Indistinct chatter ] She actually got cosmetic surgery to look like sheila.

Steffy: Oh, my gosh, that water was amazing.

[ Steffy laughs ]

Finn: Yeah. I was just… getting to be alone out there with you.

Steffy: Yeah.

[ Finn laughs ] Li’s such a saint, letting us have the morning.

Finn: Yeah. I mean, I could stay in the ocean all day with you, but, um, I mean, do you have any other ideas on how we could, uh, spend the rest of our morning?

Steffy: I think I have some ideas.

Finn: Yeah?

Rj: So this is what you’re telling me, you accidentally took your mother’s drugs and then you stumbled into one of the guest houses on my granddad’s property?

Luna: Yeah.

Rj: I– I wasn’t there, but someone was, right? Who was it?

Luna: I spent the night with zende.

Brooke: Good morning, sweetheart.

Rj: Hi, mom.

Brooke: Honey?

Rj: Hmm?

Brooke: You seem… what’s wrong?

Luna: I should have come to you right away that next morning. I should have told you exactly what happened.

Rj: You didn’T. You’ve been hiding it from me this whole time. I’m– I’m– I’m still trying to make sense of all this. It’s just every time I look at you, I see you in zende’s bed. In his arms. I just– I need time.

[ Knocking on door ]

Poppy: Oh, sweetheart. I’m so sorry.

Poppy: Luna, I am so sorry. My mints.

Luna: I don’t want to talk about it, okay? I know that you gave them up and you feel horrible.

Poppy: I do. More than you’ll ever know. Where do things stand with you and rj?

Brooke: Rj, you’re starting to worry me. What is it?

Rj: I’d rather not talk about it, okay?

Brooke: Okay, I respect that, but I can see that you’re upset. So, is it work? Is it your friends? It’s not your grandfather, is it?

Rj: No.

Brooke: Okay, well, that’s good. Is it something to do with luna? You two have a disagreement? That’s okay, you know, because sometimes in a relationship, there are rocky times.

Rj: This is more than a disagreement or a rocky time, though.

Brooke: What happened? You know you can talk to me about anything. So what is it? Maybe I can help.

Rj: I don’t think you can. I can’t believe I’m saying this. Luna was with another guy.

[ Phone chimes ]

Finn: Mm. No. I better get it. Ah. Hmm. Oh, look at this.

Steffy: Oh, my gosh! Look at kelly and hayes. Oh, my god, they’re so cute. Look at them with li. I’m so glad beth was up for a play date.

Finn: Mm, believe me, she’s having as much fun as they are.

Steffy: Yeah, you’re right. It’s so nice. Just this beautiful blended family. I love it.

Finn: So do I. Speaking of blended families, hope stopped by yesterday and dropped off kelly’s goggles.

Steffy: Well, that was nice of her.

Finn: Yeah, it was. Also, gave me a chance to tell her that her dad still thinks sheila’s alive.

Deacon: Who the hell are you? Here we go. Okay. Janet webber, warden in hemet, california prison. This is crazy. Okay, so sheila tricks sugar into getting cosmetic surgery to look like her. And then sugar takes the fall for sheila’s crimes. Sheila wasn’t the one who was getting cremated. I’m not losing my mind here. Are you still alive? Shake up your shower

Poppy: Rj realizes that none of this was your fault, right?

Luna: It doesn’t matter. I broke his heart.

Poppy: What did he say?

Luna: He wishes that I let him know sooner. And as much as he still cares about me, he can’t stop picturing me in zende’s bed. He needs time.

Poppy: You are innocent in all of this. Doesn’t rj understand that? Can’t he forgive you?

Brooke: What are you saying, rj? Who was luna with?

Rj: Zende.

Brooke: Zende? Oh, my god, luna slept with zende?

Rj: Well, she thought it was me. She was– she was drugged by her own mother. She– poppy’s mints turned out to be more than just mints, mom.

Brooke: How can poppy be so negligent?

Rj: Luna had no idea.

Brooke: Are you sure about all of this? It’s really hard to believe.

Rj: I– I know, but it’s true. I believe luna.

Steffy: You told hope her dad thinks sheila’s alive?

Finn: Yeah, and, uh, she was pretty upset when she heard the things deacon was saying.

Steffy: Well, she should be. She should be extremely concerned. I mean, he is way off-base. He’s seeing things that aren’t even there.

Finn: I don’t know, it has to be the grief, but deacon’s really struggling. But I don’t know, i saw things too at one point.

Steffy: Finn, do not compare yourself to deacon. I mean, you had no choice having this connection to sheila. But deacon, he’s just, like, willingly diving into the drama, so of course he’s going to see things.

Finn: Well, grief has its way of playing tricks on your mind. And that’s the only explanation for why he thinks he saw sheila with 10 toes.

Deacon: Oh. Come on, there’s got to be more out here on you.

[ Laptop chimes ] No, I don’t want a free sample of ethically sourced coconut sugar. All right, there’s a person out there that looks exactly like sheila, but has 10 toes. Is that person you, sugar? That’s the question. My celebrity colorist?

Poppy: Rj knows that you never would have betrayed him if you were in your right mind, right? Can’t he forgive you?

Luna: I hope so. I mean, I– I can tell how much he still loves me.

Poppy: Of course he does. And that is all that matters.

Luna: Does it, mom? Is that really all that matters? I mean, will it ever be that simple for rj again?

Brooke: I am heartbroken for luna. I am. And for you, honey. But how could zende do this?

Rj: All I want to do is tear his head off every time I see him now. But I’m not saying that he took advantage of luna. He didn’T. I believed him when he told me that he didn’t know she was on anything. Zende would never do anything against her consent.

Brooke: I don’t think that he would, but still. Think about it. Luna went to eric’s party with you, as your girlfriend, on your arm. You two have been together for months. Everybody knew that. Zende knew it. So for him to do this is– is a terrible betrayal. It is. It’s unforgivable. When your father finds out about this–

Rj: No! You cannot tell dad.

Brooke: Rj, he needs to know.

Rj: Mom, please. I want to protect luna because this isn’t her fault. I don’t want this getting around and people misunderstanding and hurting her reputation. Despite everything, she means too much to me. I’ll take care of zende. Please, mom. Do not say anything. It would devastate luna if this got out.

Brooke: O– okay. I won’t tell your father. I– I just can’t believe this. I– I– I can’t believe the drugs. Your cousin. I– I know you’re dealing with a lot. And I know you’re shocked. But what about luna? I think about what she went through. How is she? Is she all right?

Deacon: There has got to be more of this janet webber, aka sugar. Damn it, sheila, where the hell are you? Okay, okay, go– go over the– go over the text chain. “How did you get this number? It doesn’t matter. I got nothing else to say to you. I’m going to find you. Leave me alone, sugar. Leave me alone, sugar.” You sounded scared. Scaring you was no small feat. So she’d just leave town without telling me? Are you still out there, sheila? Are you in danger?

(“Holiday road”)

Luna: I broke rj’s trust. I mean, I slept with his cousin. Mom, if you could only see how– how devastated he was. I can’t blame him if he– if he never gets past what I did.

Poppy: What you did? Luna, you’re talking like you went after zende. That you intentionally and willingly spent the night with him. It was an accident.

Luna: I betrayed him.

Poppy: No, you didn’T. You would never do that to him on purpose.

Luna: No, of course not. I love him.

Poppy: And he loves you.

Luna: Yeah, but I– I should have never kept this from him. You were trying to protect his relationship with his cousin. That’s noble. You wound up telling him anyway. You could have kept this all to yourself. That is not who you are. You’re kind, honest, loving. Of course rj’s hurting right now. But he knows who you are. He knows what you stand for. Please, sweetheart. Please don’t lose faith in rj and his love for you.

Brooke: How is luna handling all of this?

Rj: She’s still so torn up. She’s blaming herself. Wondering how this could have happened. She thinks she betrayed me and our family.

[ Brooke gasps ]

Brooke: Are you kidding me? She is not to blame. She’s not. It was her mother’s drugs. She didn’t know. I believe it. And as a woman, I can only imagine what she felt. Waking up thinking that she was with you, her boyfriend. When really… I feel a sense of responsibility for her. She works at forrester creations. And this happened at the forrester estate. And she is a sweet, young, beautiful woman who went through a traumatic experience. I mean, this is terrible. What happened to her was– it’s horrifying, honestly. Can you imagine realizing that you think you’re with your boyfriend, but you wake up with somebody else, like, zende. Oh my god, zende! What was he doing? What was he thinking? How could he do this to you, honestly? He’s your cousin. And he knows how much you love luna. This, honestly, is a horrible betrayal. I’m sorry, honey. I am. I’m so sorry. I can see that you still love luna.

Rj: Of course I do. None of this was her fault. I–

Brooke: No. No, it wasn’T. And I will not tell your father, I promise. I just want you to know that I’m here for you. For you and luna. Whatever you need. Okay?

Rj: Okay.

Brooke: I just hope that you and luna can get back to where you were before this terrible night.

Brooke: Okay?

Rj: Okay.

Finn: Deacon’s inability to let sheila go concerns hope.

Steffy: Well– well why does it have to be a problem for us? I mean, deacon chose to love that monster. Sorry.

Finn: No, no. I’m sorry. Talking about sheila is getting me all worked up, and I don’t want to upset you.

Steffy: No, but I don’t want you to feel like you can’t talk to me.

Finny: I can talk to you. I know you can talk to you. I– you have been my rock through all of this. I couldn’t get through this without you. I’m the luckiest man in the world to have a woman like you. Married to you.

Steffy: And don’t you forget it.

Finn: And look, I know I have this very illogical connection to sheila, but it doesn’t and it will never compare to the connection that I have with you and the kids. You’re my light. Right through all this. But guess what? We’re free. Steff, we never have to worry about sheila again.

Deacon: What the hell happened? All right, come on, man, focus. Finally! How– how the hell did I miss this? Okay, prison warden janet webber was serving a prison sentence. Oh, my god. She was released a couple months ago. That could have been her that I saw at the crematorium. 10 toes and all. And if that was sugar, and if she had it out for sheila, and now sugar’s dead, then where the hell is sheila?

Billy: You know, these are actual doctors taking care of your kid. You know, respected and accredited.

Adam: This video call is just gonna be the two of us, right?

Chelsea: Right. Billy is not gonna be on the call, if that’s what you’re asking. But he’s right. These are doctors trained to deal with the things that Connor’s dealing with.

Adam: But they don’t know our son, not like we do. And I just– I don’t want them to forget that.

Chelsea: You’re right. We’ll make sure we give them insight into our son. Because, yes, we know him better than anybody.

Billy: Okay, well, it sounds like you’re both on the same page, so I’ll head back to the office. I’ll talk to you in a bit.

**************************

Danny: Well, actually, there has been a change in plans.

Daniel: Oh, how big of a change?

Danny: Not small.

Daniel: Don’t tell me that my rock star father’s gonna hang up his keyboard, cancel the tour, and possibly move back to Genoa City full-time.

Danny: Sorry, son. Your dear old dad is gonna be a rock star forever. No matter where I live. Some things just never change. But, um, yeah, I, uh, I have had to push my travel schedule a bit while cricket decides if she’s even gonna go.

Phyllis: Oh, while Cricket decides. My goodness, Cricket is waffling yet again.

Phyllis: Why is it I’m just hearing about those two psychopaths?

Summer: I didn’t know about Jordan and Claire until very recently, either.

Phyllis: And– and you, we– we– we had a real talk, and you failed to tell me that that– that Jordan person, she poisoned your whole family. And she stabbed you, and she escaped twice.

Nick: I just don’t know why Claire would do this. She was so happy at the party last night, like genuinely thrilled to be a part of this family. Why do it? What could she possibly gain from this?

Phyllis: The only thing that matters to me right now is that Harrison gets home safe.

Nick: Yes, of course, he is the number one priority.

*******************************

Victoria: And we denied it. Adamantly.

Cole: Yeah, well, it’s because she poisoned us.

Victoria: Yeah, but even after that, when she was in jail, we still didn’t believe her.

Cole: Well, we had reason for that. We thought she had died, and we hadn’t learned the lie.

Victoria: But what if that harsh interaction left an impression on her? What if it caused a wound so deep that she couldn’t get over it?

Cole: But the minute that we got the DNA results, we were all in with helping her.

Victoria: But was it too late? I mean, in her mind, that we were rejecting her again? And prove Jordan right? That we didn’t want her to begin with?

Cole: Well, she– she might have felt that way at first. But after she did all of that work with the doctors–

Summer: I am so sick of you all blindly trusting Claire. And I’m furious at Kyle for leaving Harrison alone with her, knowing how I felt about her.

Victoria: She’s your cousin. She’s my daughter. Your own father has forgiven her. You would think that you’d be able to give her the benefit of the doubt.

Summer: When my child is missing?

Cole: What possible motive could she have?

Victoria: Exactly. Her sole focus has been getting stronger. She’s been overcoming all kinds of psychological and emotional abuse that she’s suffered from her aunt Jordan, who, by the way, she’s cut all ties with and tried to draw close to her true family, which includes you, by the way. Do you know she’s trying so hard to be your friend?

Kyle: You have a good time tonight, bud?

Harrison: But they didn’t have cake.

Kyle: Well, maybe next time.

Harrison: Do you think they liked my present?

Kyle: Great-grandma and grandpa? Are you kidding? They loved it. Nikki said she put it in a place of honor, right?

Harrison: Yeah.

***************************************

Kyle: Oh, you are the hero of the hour. Harrison will be so relieved to see that, thank you.

Claire: Oh, it was no big deal. I just happened to see Lucky-Bun sitting there.

Kyle: Right, yes, his new name. But you didn’t have to bring it all the way over. You could’ve called and i would’ve picked it up in the morning.

Claire: And risked the bad luck jinx?

Kyle: You got me there. Clearly, I have never had a lucky charm.

Claire: Well, they’re very important things, you know. A friend, a protector, something to count on, no matter what. I know it sounds childish, but–

Kyle: No, no, not at all. What were you about to say?

Claire: I know how important it is to Harrison and I didn’t want my new little friend to go even a single night without it. I know when I got my lucky charm taken away, I… I didn’t sleep for a week.

Billy: Hey.

Lily: Hi.

Billy: You expecting anyone?

Lily: No.

Billy: Do you mind if I join you? I hate eating alone.

Lily: Uh, hold on. Not if you’re gonna talk about me firing daniel and heather.

Billy: I come in peace. I promise I won’t even mention it.

Lily: Okay, fine. But if you break that promise, you’re gonna have to leave.

Devon: So, I read your analysis on the kingston acquisition and I agree 100% that they need to bring that number way down.

Nate: Oh, yeah. Way down.

Devon: Yeah. And you can be the one to tell them. But good job.

Nate: Thanks.

Devon: You’re welcome. Hey, pretty lady.

Abby: Hello. Hi! Well, I like seeing this. You two working so well together.

Devon: Oh, yeah. This is a well-oiled machine right here, right?

Nate: Uh, yeah, the machine can use a little extra oil every now and then, but, uh, it’s coming along.

Abby: Well, as the newest board member, I take full credit for all these good vibes.

Devon: Oh, yeah. That’s 100% ’cause of you.

[ Both chuckling ]

Nate: No argument from me there. Well, I, uh, better go make that phone call.

Devon: Yes, and hey, would you mind coming back here in about a half hour?

Nate: Uh, sure thing.

Devon: Thank you.

Nate: All right.

Abby: Half an hour?

Devon: Yeah.

Abby: Isn’t that when the board meeting’s supposed to start?

Devon: Well, yes, it is.

Abby: Devon?

Devon: Hm?

Abby: What are you up to?

Victoria: Mom, no. No, it is a terrible idea.

Nikki: It’s the only way to get jordan to come out of hiding.

Victoria: By using yourself as bait? And then what? Huh? I mean, we don’t know what kind of weapons jordan might have or what the fallout might be if she senses that it’s a trap. I– harrison and claire are at this woman’s mercy. No, mom, it is too risky for all of you.

Nikki: You don’t understand.

Victoria: I do understand. I do. You want to help. I– I get that. We all do. But the best thing that any of us can do is just let dad and the authorities, let them handle this.

Nikki: I am the one she wants. I am the one that caused this by allowing her to live.

Victoria: No, mom, we all made that choice. You and me and claire, we made a pact that we did not want to become who she is.

Nikki: And because of that, harrison has been kidnapped. And probably claire as well.

Victoria: Probably? Are you saying that you still have doubts about claire’s innocence?

Victor: Hi, my sweetheart. Come here. Come here. Cry all you want, okay? We’re all here for you.

Summer: I’m scared, grandpa. I’m scared.

Victor: I know you’re scared. But we have a plan. We’re gonna bring harrison home safe and sound, right?

Kyle: Thanks for coming by, man.

Chance: Yeah, of course.

Jack: Were you able to get any information from your friends on the force?

Chance: Nothing new so far, but they’re chasing every tip that comes in.

Summer: And my son is still out there with two insane people.

Victor: Sweetheart, I know.

Summer: This is awful. I mean, who does this to a child?

Victor: I know. We’re doing everything we can. I promise you, we’ll bring harrison home. You’ve got to believe that. Come here. The virus that causes shingles is sleeping…

Announcer: Additional sponsorship provided by…

Billy: Thank you. So, how’s mattie? Is she back in grad school?

Lily: Uh, yes, she is. Um, she’s doing better. I mean, the struggle for her was real, right? But she’s good. She’s a very resilient, strong young woman.

Billy: Just like her mom.

Lily: Yeah, I don’t know about that these days. But, um, no, I’m just happy that she’s back in school and has her life back.

Billy: How’s charlie doing?

Lily: Um, he’s good. He got a job at a production company in L.A.

Billy: Hm.

Lily: So, he loves it. Says it’s like taking a master class in filmmaking.

Billy: That’s cool.

Lily: Mm-hmm.

Billy: It’s got to feel good for you, too.

Lily: Mm-hmm. How are katie and johnny?

Billy: They’re good. Yeah, they’re good. My video chats with them from boarding school don’t last long enough. Half of the time they’re insisting they know more than their old man. And they’re right.

Lily: What, that you’re old?

[ Billy laughs ] No, but, um, I’m actually really sorry about what chelsea’s going through with connor.

Billy: Yeah, thank you. It’s been– it’s been tough on her, you know, talking about resilient. But she’s doing everything she can to stay on track. It’s all about helping connor get through this.

Lily: Are you and adam playing nice?

Billy: As nice as someone can play with adam.

Lily: Well, look, I mean, even if you have to fake it, fake it, right? At least for connor’s sake.

Billy: It’s all about the kid.

Lily: Good.

Billy: Look at us. Sitting here, talking. With all the ups and downs over the years. Like we’re friends.

[ Lily laughs ] Means a lot to me.

Lily: Hm.

Billy: You don’t agree?

Lily: Oh, no, personally, I agree. But professionally? I don’t trust you for a second.

Kyle: I can’t believe the police haven’t found anything solid yet.

Jack: Is that true? They have no leads?

Chance: Well, they actually did locate the driver of the floral delivery truck.

Victor: Have they talked to him?

Chance: Yeah, they took him in for questioning.

Kyle: What did he say?

Chance: He said that he stopped by a convenience store early last night to get a coffee and when he came back outside, the cab was gone.

Victor: Now, did they take a look at the security footage?

Chance: They did. A person dressed in all black, baseball cap on, got in the truck and drove off.

Jack: Was it a man or a woman?

Chance: It’s hard to tell. They tried to blow it up as much as they could, but you can’t really see anything.

Victor: We know who it is. It’s that jordan woman.

Jack: Well, it clearly couldn’t have been claire. She was at the party.

Kyle: Okay, did the security footage show the truck being taken? It must have shown jordan arriving, which means she had to have known that there was a delivery scheduled for the house.

Jack: But she couldn’t have known he would be there, could she?

Chance: Well, the driver is claiming that that stop is part of his routine. He makes it all the time.

Jack: Maybe she paid the driver off. Isn’t that possible?

Chance: Yeah, that is, but if that were the case, I think I would’ve heard about it. Now, this investigation is still at the very beginning. And, trust me, the gcpd has its eyes on everybody that could be involved.

[ Phone ringing ]

Victor: Excuse me for a moment. I’ve gotta take this.

Kyle: Okay, well, the one thing we know for sure is that claire wasn’t the driver. She was at the party and she was at the house.

Summer: And that’s all it means. It doesn’t mean that she wasn’t involved in the kidnapping.

Kyle: I’m just laying out the pieces.

Summer: It doesn’t mean that she wasn’t the point person on the inside who made it easy for jordan to come in and take our son and you are the person that invited in the danger. You let claire walk right through the front door and up to harrison’s bedroom and because of that, our son is gone.

Nikki: Of course I don’t want to believe that claire is helping jordan.

Victoria: But you do think it’s possible.

Nikki: I didn’t say that.

Victoria: No, you didn’t have to. But you’ve made it clear that you think that she could be a part of all this.

Nikki: Well, I think we at least have to consider it. I mean, could jordan have pulled this off on her own?

Victoria: That doesn’t mean that claire helped her. Come on, mom. Jordan has managed to slip through everyone’s fingers more than a few times on her own. So, why not this time?

Nikki: So, you’re saying it was a coincidence that claire was in the house at the exact same time that harrison was taken?

Victoria: I don’t know, okay? But until somebody gives me some concrete proof, I am gonna continue to believe that my daughter has been kidnapped and she’s in terrible danger. And it just scares me to death that nobody recognizes this, especially people in her own family. Claire’s own family. She has a target on her back, mom. God knows what could happen.

Nikki: I’m sorry. I– I know you’re terrified. I didn’t mean to make this worse for you.

Victoria: Look, if you have any more doubts about claire, would you do me a favor and keep them to yourself? Because I don’t want to hear it.

Nikki: Duly noted.

Victoria: Why’d you even come by here anyway? Just to tell me about this crazy plan of yours to lure jordan out into the open?

Nikki: I need claire’s phone number so I can send jordan a message.

[ Victoria sighs ]

Victoria: Mom. What if she doesn’t respond?

Nikki: Oh, she’ll respond.

Victoria: Look, dad is already working on something. Something that is far more logical and less dangerous than you offering yourself up.

Nikki: Your father’s plan is to give her money and safe passage out of the country.

Victoria: Great. Wonderful. What’s wrong with that?

Nikki: Because it won’t work. Jordan’s need for vengeance is too strong for money and freedom to mean anything.

Victoria: Oh, I see. So, all of the risk just comes right back on you.

Nikki: It could be the only way of saving them, victoria.

[ Victoria sighs ]

Victoria: All right. All right, I’ll give you claire’s number. On one condition.

[]

Nikki: All right. What is your condition?

[ Phone rings ]

Victoria: Oh, I have to get that. It might be news about claire.

Nikki: Of course.

Victoria: Hello. Hi.

Nikki: Any news?

Victoria: Oh, yeah. That was just cole. He’s on his way back from talking to security.

Nikki: Good. Then you can tell me your conditions for giving me claire’s phone number.

Victoria: Look, mom, I understand your reluctance to telling dad what you’re planning to do, given what happened the last time that we confronted jordan. Because he’s gonna do everything that he can to try to stop you.

Nikki: That’s exactly why he can’t know.

Victoria: Fine. Agreed. We leave dad out of the loop. All right? But you cannot do this alone. You need me and cole to help you with whatever it is you’re planning. And possibly nicholas, too.

Nikki: Oh, no, no. No. Not happening.

Victoria: Mom, it’s a deal-breaker. Either you let us help you with this or I’m gonna do everything in my power to stop you.

Nikki: I’m fine with you and cole. But I don’t know that I trust nicholas to not tell your father.

Kyle: Summer, I know you’re scared. And I know you’re angry. And if you wanna take it out on me, that is fine. You’re right. I’m the one that let claire in. I just don’t want to believe she is a part of this.

Summer: Why? Because she batted her sad little eyes at you? She told you horrific stories about her childhood? She conned you, kyle! You were her mark!

Kyle: Okay, why would she go along with the aunt she’s already turned her back on? You’re right. We don’t know enough for certain about claire. But we know everything we need to about jordan.

Summer: Including that claire was her accomplice.

Kyle: That’s true. She was. She did horrible things before, but why was there no mention of claire in the hostage demands? Why wasn’t there talk of safe passage for claire if they are both guilty?

Summer: To make people like you believe that she’s not.

Kyle: What purpose does that serve her now? To give up a life of family and freedom? To be a criminal on the run? You know what? I’ll say it. I’m starting to believe she is a victim too. And not only because I’m the one that let her in and hate thinking that I put our son in danger. I want harrison back more than anything and I’m sure victoria wants the same thing for claire. So, if she is in jeopardy–

Summer: I do not care about claire. I care about our son.

Kyle: And you think I don’t?

Summer: No! I think you’re a fool, wasting time worrying about the wrong person.

Jack: Okay, okay. Let’s calm down here. We need to focus on finding harrison more than fighting. Listen, the guilty parties are going to be found and punished. We just have to find them and soon.

Billy: Thank you. Well, that’s harsh. It’s good to know you can still dish it out. And here I thought we were having a nice, friendly conversation.

Lily: We are.

Billy: Let me ask you a question. Who gets up and walks away now? Because technically you broke the rules by bringing work up.

Lily: I meant I didn’t want to talk about daniel and heather.

Billy: Ah, right. My bad.

Lily: Okay, the termination has happened. We’ll deal with the lawsuit and the outcome will be what it’s gonna be. I’m talking about the bigger picture.

Billy: Bigger picture? Are you talking about my suggestion that we run the company together as partners?

Lily: Yes.

Billy: That’s interesting. I thought you were gonna do everything in your power to kick that can down the road.

Lily: No. I’ve thought about it.

Billy: Then, let me guess. You’re not on board.

Lily: Billy, the truth is is that you and I don’t agree on anything, okay? I make a decision and you have a contrary opinion.

Billy: But isn’t that the beauty of teamwork? An honest exchange of ideas?

Lily: If we were partners, we’d disagree on everything. We would never get anything done.

Billy: I would say that’s a slight exaggeration.

Lily: And that’s not the only reason why I wouldn’t do this.

Billy: Okay, there’s another reason.

Lily: I am not gonna betray my family by pushing them down to give you more power.

Billy: Did I ever ask you to do that?

Lily: You didn’t have to. That’s what would happen. And to be honest, I think that’s your plan. Right? Part of the reason why you want to add abbott to the logo, why you antagonize devon, why jill is pretty much absent from everything and leaving it all in your hands. And I think that’s why you’re trying to tempt me with an offer that you think I can’t refuse. But I mean, I have to wonder how long before you push me down in your relentless drive for power. Kerendia presents the abc’s of ckd.

Billy: Do you honestly think that I would betray you like that?

Lily: I’m just being pragmatic.

Billy: I’ve been nothing but open and honest about what I want and what I want for the company. I’m not playing games, and I’m not some random person that you gotta think the worst of.

Lily: Well, that might be true, but this is where I’m at right now. Okay? I’ve been through a lot. So, I have to exercise caution in my personal and my professional life. Which outweighs hurting anyone’s feelings. Which brings me back to you.

Billy: Yeah, what about me?

Lily: Well, when we have the board meeting this afternoon, I’m going to bring up clarifying your role in the company.

Billy: I’m no longer filling in for you, so an actual title would be a good thing.

Lily: That’s not really what I’m talking about. I’m going to urge the board to limit your power and remove you from being an officer at the company.

Victoria: How can you even say that? Look, nicholas may not like what you’re doing, but that doesn’t mean that he’s gonna go running to dad about it.

Nikki: Listen, the more people we bring into this, the more complicated it will get.

Victoria: Nicholas, he can help us in so many different ways, mom.

Nikki: Victoria, please. I am begging you. Let me do this my way.

Victoria: Hey.

Cole: Hey.

Victoria: Anything new?

Cole: Nothing. And I’m trying not to flip out. Hi, nikki.

Nikki: Hey, cole.

Cole: How are you holding up?

Victoria: Well, do you wanna tell him or should I?

Nikki: I don’t care.

Victoria: Mom thinks it’s a great idea to put herself out there as a target for jordan to lure her out of hiding.

Cole: What? Nikki, that’s not happening.

Victoria: Exactly. That was my reaction, too, but she won’t be swayed. So, I insisted that you and me and nicholas, possibly, need to be a part of whatever it is she’s planning.

Nikki: No, nicholas. End of story. Now, we don’t have time to waste arguing about this.

Cole: Nikki, this is too dangerous. With nick or without.

Nikki: I am aware of the risks, but this could be the only way we get claire and harrison home safely.

Cole: Are– are– are you backing up your mother on this?

Victoria: There is a terrible logic behind it. Jordan’s hatred is mostly directed at my mother. She’s jordan’s weak spot.

Cole: Does victor know all about this?

Nikki: No, and he’s not going to know, because nobody’s gonna tell him, including you.

Cole: Nikki, you have a plan, victor and jack have a plan, and no one is telling the police what they’re up to.

Nikki: I don’t care what anybody else’s plan is. This is what I’m doing.

Cole: Listen, I get it, all right, I know exactly how you feel. I would lay my life on the line to bring claire home, but why not involve the police? Victor, jack, I mean, these– these are the ones with the tools and the experience. This is impulsive and it’s short-sighted and it might trigger jordan into doing something terrible.

Victor: I agree with jack. And I agree with kyle’s suspicion. I do think that claire’s being held hostage by that terrible woman.

Jack: Whoa, I’m not prepared to jump to any conclusions here. I think we have to consider every possibility. What makes you so certain that claire is innocent?

Victor: Because I’ve been around claire for a while, and whenever the name of her aunt has been brought up, her hatred of the woman is absolutely palpable.

Summer: Or that’s just a part of her con. We know how convincing she can be.

Victor: Sweetheart, you’ve got to let go of that anger, okay? Jack is right. Right now, we have to do everything in our power to find those two.

Chance: So, what exactly is the plan here?

Victor: What exactly is the plan? We interrogate the driver, see what he knows.

Chance: Well, hold on. I just– I just said the police already did a preliminary interview.

Victor: They didn’t find diddly, did they?

Chance: Well, maybe there was nothing to tell.

Victor: That remains to be seen.

Chance: Victor, any evidence that you find going rogue, you know you can’t use that in a court case, right?

Victor: Chance, I don’t give a damn about a court case.

Chance: Okay, so what’s your plan here? You’re just gonna wing it?

Victor: We’ll do what we have to.

Chance: Victor, families operate on emotion. That’s when mistakes are made. It usually ends up badly, sometimes even tragically. I would let the police do their job.

Victor: When I ask you for advice, you will know. Right now, I’ll do everything in my power to find my granddaughter and my great-grandson. And you stay the hell out of it.

Marshalls buyers have a very

particular set of skills.

Announcer: The young and the restless will continue.

Billy: Cutting me off at the knees at chancellor-winters, that’s a bold move.

Lily: It’s just defining your purview.

Billy: It’s tying my hands.

Lily: Look, it’s a conversation we should’ve had when jill first brought you on, okay?

Billy: No, true, but that’s why she brought me on so you didn’t have to think about work, so you could focus on taking care of your daughter. I never tried to replace you. I would never try to crowd you out.

Lily: Yes, I believe you, but not everyone sees it that way, and it’s distraction. So, if we define your role at the company, then we can actually focus on making the company better. Because the stronger the company is, the stronger I am.

Billy: Self-preservation brings out your eyes. We’re good together. You know it.

Lily: Are we good enough for me to give you half my power? I don’t know about that.

Billy: I’m not saying I’m perfect. I shoot from the hip maybe a little bit too much, but that’s something I can work on. But we’re good together. That’s why jill brought us together in the first place. You don’t think she has the same thing in mind this time?

Lily: Did jill actually say the words, “I think you and lily should run chancellor-winters together?”

Billy: With the environment at chancellor-winters? She’s smarter than that.

Lily: Okay, then we’ll bring it up at the board meeting.

Billy: Okay, you want to do this with everyone, not just me and you hashing it out one-on-one.

Lily: Yeah, everything out in the open is the best option.

Billy: So you have your back covered. Lily, I would never betray you.

Lily: Oh, my god. Yeah, famous last words.

Billy: Okay, so clearly, I’m the enemy here, which I’m not, but let’s just say I am. You think your family’s gonna protect you? Mamie’s only out for herself and taking down jill. Devon, I’m not the only one he has a problem working with, okay, ’cause he only thinks about himself, and what he wants to do. He doesn’t give anyone else room and that’s gonna be you next time. When your power gets too much, he’s gonna freak out.

Lily: That wouldn’t happen, but if it did, we’d figure it out.

Billy: I’m the smart bet. I’m the one you should trust. I don’t know why the hell you don’t see that.

Nikki: Victor will not be a part of this call. It’s not up for debate.

Cole: Victor wants to get jordan as badly as you do, so why not let him help?

Nikki: Because then he will want to put me on the sidelines and think I am in too fragile of a state to face jordan again.

Cole: Is he wrong about that?

Nikki: What are you saying?

Cole: You’ve been through a lot, nikki.

Nikki: Yeah, I have, and I am in the best position to know what I can and cannot handle. Thank you.

Victoria: She also believes this is all her fault.

Cole: That’s just not true, all right? You’re not responsible for jordan’s actions.

Victoria: That’s what I said, too.

Nikki: And your continuing to say it does not reduce my guilt or my determination to fix this once and for all. Now, once I make contact with jordan, I will tell your father. And then, he can involve as many security and police officers as he wants.

Cole: All right, listen, listen, by then, it might be too late.

Nikki: You know what? This is what we’re doing! Get it? Now, if my risking my life is the only way to save harrison and claire, I’m willing to take that risk. All right. I’ve met your conditions. So, give me claire’s phone number right now!

Chance: Have you considered that you could be jeopardizing their safety by not working with the police?

Victor: I consider everything.

Summer: Grandpa, chance knows about these things. He has experience.

Victor: The fact that your friend worked for the gcpd doesn’t mean a damn thing to me. Now, you either jump on board, get with it, or you can leave the premises.

Chance: That’s how it’s gonna be, yeah?

Jack: I’m with victor on this one.

Kyle: So am I.

Victor: You find the truck driver, bring him to the ranch. You tell him if he cooperates, he’ll be compensated.

[ Summer sighs ]

Lily: Hello, abby.

Abby: Hi.

Lily: Nice to see you.

Abby: Well, it’s wonderful to be here. I’m happy to contribute however I can. I know how much chancellor-winters means to everyone involved.

Lily: Thank you, I know you do. Um, are we all set for the meeting?

Devon: Yes, jill let us know last minute she’s gonna be joining, uh, via video chat, and then I also asked nate if he would stop by.

Nate: Hey.

Devon: Hey. Thank you for coming.

Nate: Uh, if this is about daniel’s lawsuit, that’s not exactly my turf.

Jill: You are correct. It is a board issue.

Billy: Glad you could join us, mom.

Jill: What’s going on there? Why is nate with you?

Devon: I asked him to come, uh, because before we start the discussion about the daniel situation, I wanted to motion for nate to be reappointed to the board. I would’ve called yesterday.

Lily: Devon, I wish you had talked to me about this first.

Devon: Well, that’s why i brought it up, so we can all discuss it before we take a vote, and I’m sure you’re willing to answer any questions we might have.

Nate: Of course. I’d be happy to.

Lily: So, sorry, did abby know about this?

Abby: Devon and I talked about it earlier.

Lily: Nate?

Nate: Uh, first, I’m hearing about it, but I am humbled and grateful you have such faith in me. I give you my word, I will do my best by the company if elected.

Billy: So, you two were the only ones who knew about this, hm. That’s interesting.

Jill: All right, devon, tell me, how long has that bombshell been percolating in that little brain of yours?

Devon: Well, this actually goes back to what neil wanted, jill, because he put it in his will that nate must be given a seat on the board of hamilton-winters, and I believe that he’s earned that spot.

Billy: But it would have been nice to get a heads up. Seems a little bit shady that you would spring this on us all, especially lily, but then again, that’s probably your idea all along. But hey, we’re here now. So, let’s have a vote.

[ Chance sighs ]

Summer: Chance, wait. Uh, look, I’m sorry about my grandpa.

Chance: No, no, that is exactly what I expected, and you know what I should’ve done? I should’ve reminded your grandpa of all the times he’s gone off without the police and it’s blown up in his face.

Summer: Look, you’ve got to admit, he’s been able to achieve some things that the police haven’t been able to.

Chance: Yeah, illegal things. Dangerous things. Some are things that have put his life in danger. I tell you, this is just one reason why I left law enforcement. People like victor newman think that they can do whatever the hell they want.

Summer: You have to understand, though, that is how he became who he is. He sees a problem, he finds a solution and he doesn’t let anybody get in his way.

Chance: That sounds like you agree with him.

Summer: I’m not saying that. I’m not. Does my grandpa take it too far sometimes? Yes, maybe, but in this circumstance, right now, you have to admit, the police are the ones that keep on losing jordan, and meanwhile, my son is the one that’s out there enduring god knows what. I just want to bring him home. I really don’t care how it happens.

Nikki: Give me the damn phone, victoria! We’re wasting time!

Victoria: Are you all right?

Nikki: What? What are you talking about?

Victoria: You seem really agitated. I mean, you’re almost shaking.

Nikki: Of course I am agitated! Anybody would be agitated having to deal with jordan.

Victoria: I know that–

Nikki: My god, that woman has harrison under her control. She’s got to be stopped. We don’t have a moment to waste.

Victoria: Mom?

Nikki: Why are you making this so difficult for me? I am offering you the best way to get harrison and claire home, and you are fighting me at every turn.

Victoria: Mom, stop!

Nikki: Why are you doing that?

Victoria: Have you been drinking again?

Kyle: Hey. Have a seat.

Driver: Why am I here? I– I already told my story to the cops.

Jack: Now we’d like you to tell it to us. From the beginning. How your truck was stolen.

Driver: The guy said something about compensation?

Jack: Oh, you will be well-rewarded if you help us. Are you aware that your truck was used in the abduction of a seven-year-old boy?

Driver: All they asked me was how my truck ended up empty and abandoned on astor road. And I told them. It was stolen when I was getting snacks for my shift. Security footage backed up my claim and they let me go.

Kyle: So that’s all you know?

Driver: Yeah, that’s all. Why would I lie?

Jack: We never said you lied. We asked if that was everything.

Driver: I told you guys everything that happened.

Jack: To me, you seem like an honest guy. To that man, that is victor newman. And if he thinks you know more than you’re saying, he will turn your life into a living hell. I have seen it happen before. I would hate to see it happen to you. So, when we ask for answers…

Victor: You better answer. Uhhh.

Abby: We don’t have to vote right now. I mean, devon mentioned nate answering any questions we may have.

Billy: I actually have a question, but it’s for devon. This little dance to put nate back on the board, is it payback? Because jill agreed to put abby on the board as long as I got a seat too?

Devon: No, I think I was pretty clear when I explained this is about what neil wanted. And I also believe that nate has earned back this responsibility.

Billy: Right, so nate’s earned it, but mine’s a freebie.

Devon: Those are your words. So, if there are no other questions, we can move on to the voting, and that’s one vote for me to have nate on the board.

Abby: I second that.

Billy: Surprise, surprise.

Devon: Lily? I think with the recent dynamics in the company, this makes a lot of sense for us.

Billy: It does make a lot of sense, stacking the board to vote in line with you. It’s interesting, lily, because we were just talking about undefined purviews, and I’m sitting here wondering, what does this board really do? I mean, what’s the point of voting when you already know the outcome?

Devon: Are you done? Can we move on?

Jill: So, does this mean we get to vote now?

Devon: I would love that.

Billy: Nate, this is not personal at all. You’ve done some really great work since you’ve come back.

Nate: Thank you.

Billy: But for me, it’s a little too soon. The memories of what happened last time are too fresh.

Jill: Yeah, from when you brazenly sold us out.

Nate: I am aware.

Jill: Which is why I think this is premature. I vote no.

Billy: I agree.

Devon: All right. Two yeses, two nos.

Lily: Well… I guess it’s up to me then.

Chance: Hey, hey, hey. Look at me. Look at me. I understand you’re scared right now, but I honestly think that the best and the safest way to bring harrison home is to let the police do it. If it were dominic, that’s what I’d do.

Summer: But it’s not dominic. So, you don’t know what you would do, not really.

Chance: Yeah, I– I guess, you’re right, I’m sorry.

Summer: Look, I don’t know what the right plan is, I don’T. I just want my son to come home safely.

Chance: I know, and you know I’m gonna do whatever I have to do to make that happen, right?

Summer: Yeah.

Chance: So have faith. We might not all be pulling in the same direction, but we all want the same thing. Now, I’m gonna go check in with the lead detective, see if I can find out anything new.

Summer: Okay.

Chance: Okay. It’s gonna be okay.

Summer: Call me.

Chance: I will.

Summer: Okay.

Nikki: No, I haven’t been drinking.

Victoria: The behavior, it just seemed familiar to me, that’s all.

Nikki: Oh, is that how it’s going to be now? Whenever we have a disagreement, I get accused of being drunk?

Victoria: I’m not accusing you. I’m asking you, out of concern. I’m asking out of love.

Nikki: I’m sorry. It’s a sensitive subject.

Victoria: I know.

Nikki: But I do appreciate your caring, I really do. But I promise you… I haven’t been drinking again.

Jack: As to your question about compensation…

Victor: What is your name?

Dave: Dave.

Victor: All right, dave. I’ll offer you $100,000 for inside information.

Dave: You don’t think I was involved, do you?

Kyle: Yes, we do. We know the woman paid you to ditch your truck.

Jack: The woman you’ve been doing business with is a murderer, capable of almost anything. You are very lucky you got out alive.

Victor: So, dave, this is your chance to fix your mistake. To save a child’s life. So, why don’t you tell us everything you know?

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

okay. If we have to do this, we’re not gonna do it in the middle of my restaurant. Hatyou’re talking about. You’re gonna have to tell me more, sonny. I don’t get it. Okay. You spent months refusing any help. And you promised — no, you didn’t promise. Y-you insisted that you were gonna get the hotel back on your own. I wanted to help you. You said no. Jason comes in, gets it back, gives it to you, and you’re like, “thank you, jason.” Yeah. Well… that’s pretty much it. I’m sorry. You don’t have to be sorry. Are you mad I’m here? Never. So, uh, have you seen much of my dad since dante’s been home? Just a couple of times. Alone or…? Uh, once with ava and avery. And how did he seem? What do you mean? You know, like, how was he? Considering everything sonny’s been going through, I would say he’s pretty angry. And paranoid? No, I wouldn’t go that far. Maybe a little on edge. Why do you think? I don’t know. He’s not acting like himself lately. He’s pushing everyone away. Oh, you mean carly and michael. And nina. Look, I’m not okay with what nina did. But she does really love my dad, and he was happy with her. And now, apart from me, donna and avery and you guys, occasionally, the only person he’ll let close to him is ava. Can you believe we’ve got this whole place to ourselves?! Oh, brook lynn is gonna freak out when she sees it! All the decorations, her name in lights, and, oh, she’s got her very own signature cocktail. “The brooklyn chaser.” I mean, it doesn’t get any cutter than that! Mm-hmm. Hey! Anybody there? Sorry.

[ Chuckles ] You live for this stuff! I did. I mean, I-I do.

[ Sighs ] I’m sorry. It’s just all the stress at work lately. It’s been a lot. Do you want to talk about it? No. Okay. Lucy has been insufferable!

[ Chuckles ] Well. Gotcha. Trying to make herself deception’s spokesmodel? I mean you saw her at “home & heart.” Did I ever! All she can do is talk about herself. And because her followers are blowing up her social media, she is convinced she was this huge success. I don’t have the final numbers, but I’m pretty sure she was not. There’s just no reasoning with her. And now that sasha’s gone and brook lynn is understandably — you are left to deal with lucy all on your own. Yeah. Hmm. And we have this new skin care line coming out. The disruptor nourishing moisturizer was debuted on “home & heart.” Mm hmm. Lucy’s been holding up the release date because she would like to rename the product to lucy’s luminous skin serum.

[ Laughs ] Hard pass. Right? Yeah. Marketing is just about to lose their minds, and I’m right there with them. Well… why don’t you just call it deceptive? Deceptive? Yeah. The skin care that hides what you want, and no one’s got a clue. Madison! I need you to call my lawyer and see if there’s any way to void a contract that I signed under false pretenses. Oh. Right away. Actually… no. Don’T. O-of course. I-is there something i should do? Do you want some advice? Please. When people tell you who they are, believe them. Say someone who’s treacherous with an agenda and suddenly becomes your friend, guess what. They still have an agenda. Maybe it gels with yours for the moment, but as soon as it doesn’T… said friend… …will betray you in a heartbeat. Nina. Are you okay? You can go. You have a minute? For a “friend” like you? Always.

(Grunt) you’re always welcome here. Thanks. So, I-I didn’t see you downstairs. How’d you get in? -Uh, the — the fire escape. -Oh. It — it looked like you and carly were busy, so… and I don’t want anyone to know I’m here. Look, my mom said I couldn’t see you anymore, and this has to be a secret. Just like the boathouse. I’m really grateful you helped me. It was no big deal. Yeah, it was a big deal. And what I did, getting you involved, especially asking you to keep it from your mom, that wasn’t fair. But at the time, I didn’t see an alternative, but it shouldn’t have gone down like that. So… are you saying you’re sorry I found you? I’m sensing that you don’t like that ava’s living with sonny. I just don’t understand why. Well, what did sonny have to say about it? Not much. Just that ava and avery were moving in because of a “safety concern.” But I don’t know. I mean, if — if my dad were really at risk, then wouldn’t he want avery to be as far away from him as possible? Hm. I remember plenty of times as a young kid I would go long periods of time without seeing my dad, and it was always “for my own safety.” I-I don’t know. Maybe — maybe it is for “security reasons.” I mean, sonny’s is the best. I guess. Honestly, I was fine with ava and avery moving in there initially. I even asked ava to keep an eye on my dad because I was so worried about him after spencer died. But you’re clearly not okay with it now. Ava jerome? Living there permanently? That’s a different story. Uh, yeah, I know it is an interesting development. I-I just — I feel like he’s starting to rely on her. Like, he really needs her in his life. And ava — she played such a major role in morgan’s death. She tampered with his medication, and that basically forced him into a manic spiral. So how is she not responsible that he did something reckless and died? And I understand the concept of keeping ava close for avery’s sake, tolerating ava. You know, go along to get along. But I don’t know. Sam, it’s like every once in a while, I’m around ava, and I just am hit with this full-sensory memory of me at morgan’s funeral, you know, the dress I’m wearing, the way the flowers smelled. It’s like this mental snapshot that I-I cannot get rid of. And my dad is the one who uncovered that. So how does he go from loathing someone to totally trusting her? I offered to buy back the hotel for you. I remember. And you refused. I remember that, too. Well, what the hell, carly? Why would you take it from jason and not me? Because you made the offer out of guilt, sonny. That’s not true. Yes, it is. It’s true. You wanted to make yourself feel better for bailing on our marriage. Me? Like it was some kind of consolation prize or something. I didn’t bail on the marriage. You’re the one that ended things.

[ Scoffs ] I hit pause for about five minutes, and you took that opportunity to jump in bed with nina. You’re rewriting history, carly. Really? Yeah. Yeah. You are. What part is the lie? All parts. You wanted nina, and you got her. Look at you now. Madison. Please make sure that we’re not disturbed. Have a seat.

[ Door closes ] Nina, I am so sorry. For what? I had no idea that sonny would react that way to you selling jason the hotel. I mean, I-I knew he was under a lot of stress. Sonny was? Yeah. But that was over the top. Even for him. Rest assured I’m gonna do whatever I can to smooth things over. I just — I hope you understand. Oh, I understand. How transparent and manipulative you are. I’m so embarrassed. Why? That I ever believed one word that came out of your mouth. I of all people should know better. With our history… all the ways I admittedly have wronged you, the ways that you’ve wronged me. How could I have ever trusted you? That’s just not being naive. That’s — that’s borderline deluded. How long? How long what? How long have you been working your agenda, ava? Does it go all the way back to when you told me to turn in carly and drew to the sec? Nina, I never told you to do any such thing! How long… have you been playing me for a fool?

Ll, you might have justsaved the future of deception, but you’ve definitely saved me a huge headache. My pleasure. Okay. So there are four products in this new line — the deceiver serum, defiance dual use toner, defender deep cleanser, and disruptor nourishing moisturizer. I am excited to try every one of them. Consider me a focus group of one. Have you used our products? Oh, yeah. I was a big fan of deception back in the day. My best friend was the “face” in the ’90s, but, you know, that version of the company folded. Have you used any of the products recently? Um, I think the deceptor is a home run. Yay! Yeah. Yeah. I use it while doing my sudoku. As good a time as any, I suppose. Why not, right?

[ Both laugh ] Sorry I’m late! Maxie: Oh. Oh. I see you drafted some backup. Yes, joss was nice enough to not only help me put together the favor bags, but lug the boxes over here. Ohh! Thank you, josslyn. You’re a lifesaver! Oh, my gosh, guys. Of course. Whatever you need help with. I’m — I’m happy to help. Careful. Because we will take you up on that.

[ Laughter ] Alright, ladies. Josslyn: Hoo hoo! It’s show time.

[ Laughter ] I’m sorry I put you in that position. But I would never be sorry to have that time with you. I really like talking. Me too. Turns out, I’m actually pretty good at getting places and staying under the radar. I was even at your arraignment. Did your mom know? She was busy at the hospital with dante. Danny — the only person that saw me was elizabeth, and she was cool about it. Okay. You can’t keep doing stuff behind your mom’s back. But she doesn’t want me to see you. And I won’t let her keep me away from my own father. It’s not fair! After what happened with nina, I would rather wait tables for the rest of my life than take anything from you. But you got no problem taking it from jason. None. Because jason’s offer was genuine. You? You were just trying to buy me off! That’s not true, carly. Why would you say that? Jason gave me back my hotel because he believes in me, he supports me, and he will always have my back! And we all know you got his! Of course, I do! That’s not news, sonny! I will always be there for jason, and he will always be there for me, and I refuse to apologize for that. Ah. I can see that, carly. Do you? Do you see, sonny? Because you accuse me of rewriting history, but you’re the one who seems to have lost your grasp on things. I mean, this is jason we’re talking about! I know who we’re talking about! He’s the one who tried to kill me! Nina, you made the decision to turn carly and drew in all on your own. That’s true. You never came out and said, “turn ’em in.” You would never be that obvious, ava. No, t-they were more like suggestions and insinuations. I mean, metaphorical lay-ups so I could slam dunk. And, boy, did I ever. I told you all along, it was a mistake. You made the call. No me. Now you can sit back, play innocent, and watch your hard work pay off. Why would I do that? Yeah, that’s the question of the day, isn’t it? And I can only come up with one answer. Well, I’m all ears. Well, you encouraging me to turn carly and drew in to the sec, and then you saying that you’d work on sonny for me, help get us back together… but actually not do any of that. Then you were all-in for me selling half of the metro court to jason, but, oops, jason’s no longer sonny’s best friend, but his sworn enemy. All under the guise of having my back… …being my best friend. So you could have sonny for yourself.

It really is so sweet of you to help out! Oh, of course. After the day I’ve had, doing something fun is great instead of, you know — the opposite of fun. Yeah. Exactly. Well, I’m really sorry you had a crapola day. Oh. Thank you. You know what could turn that around, don’t you? A bachelorette party? Bingo! You get to eat, drink, and be all sorts of merry and dance the blues away. Oh. It sounds amazing. I appreciate the invite. I really do. But I have plans tonight. They can’t be any better than this. I know, but I’m having dinner with my friend trina and her aunt sella. Perfect. Have dinner and then afterwards bring them back here. I mean, come on. The more the merrier. Lois is living her best life, isn’t she? I have definitely met my match in the party-planning department. I’m guessing you each bring your own individual styles to said planning. Um, how could you tell?

[ Laughs ] Anybody looking for this? I found it by the entrance. Oh. Those must be the party hats that lois ordered. Yeah, I’ll take them.

[ Laughs ] Great. Lois! Delivery! Oh, I thought they wouldn’t get here in time! Oh! Yes! Drew: Hey. Hi. Have you seen curtis by any chance? I want to run something by him. Oh. No. He’s giving the club a wide berth since we are taking it over for brook lynn’s bridal shower/ bachelorette party. Ohh. So he’s afraid of the girls. Precisely. Maybe I should be, too. I’ll get out of your hair. You guys have fun tonight. You know, actually, uh, since you’re — since you’re here, could I get your advice on something? Always, as long as it’s unrelated to the bachelorette festivities. It’s about amelia. Well, then it

better be unrelated. Michael and I want her to learn how to swim. That’s great! Really? Because I am terrified. Who sonny chooses to be a part of his life, it’s his decision. And if that’s ava, it’s ava. I don’t — s-she’s not a good influence on him, sam. I-I don’t disagree. And I think my dad is really hurting over nina so much more than he wants to admit. And then jason’s mysterious return. I feel like he’s in a vulnerable position right now. Okay. And — and maybe he is. But like I said, it’s your father’s choice who he wants to have in his life. Repeat after me. It’s not your choice. It’s not your choice.

[ Chuckles ] It’s not my choice.

[ Knock on door ]

[ Sam sighs ] Jason did not try and kill you. He was with the sniper on the roof who did. The sniper who missed. Yes. Because of jason!

[ Groans ] And, yet again, jason stepped up to save your life. I mean, hell, you wouldn’t be standing here right now if it weren’t for jason. Okay. Carly, carly. Listen to me. Okay? This is serious right now. Jason is working with the feds, right? That’s a scary thing. He said it himself. That’s proof! Proof of what? P– that he’s working against me! Maybe he made a deal with the feds to save his own skin! Okay. You think, um, you’re a part of jason’s deal. And you don’t? Well, I think if jason’s job is to get evidence against you, then he’s really bad at it because here you are a free man! Okay. Look. I’ve been — I’ve been, uh — I’ve had a target on my back for over a year. Jason’s been M.I.A. Through it all. Why couldn’t he pick up a phone?! Why couldn’t he pick up a phone and just say, “hey. I’m alive. I can’t tell you anything, but I’m alive.” Sonny. If he could have, he would have. He betrayed me. Jason betrayed me. And you betrayed me. It’s so obvious now that I look back on it. Obvious to you , maybe. You kept sonny away from me, so you could move on in. Nina, sonny moved me in. For my safety and the safety of my daughter. And that was before the two of you even separated. Oh, I stand corrected. Yes. You did get a foot in the door before I was even evicted.

[ Sighs ] What about now, ava? Hm? Why you still there now? For avery. And you? Yeah. For me too. Because, “selfishly,” I’d like to be on good terms with my child’s father. Maybe at first. But you’ve grown to like being in sonny’s orbit… drawn into his circle of trust. Feels good doesn’t it? Makes you feel seen. Lovely. Like you’re the only two people in the whole world. Am I getting close? This is absurd. Mm. The only thing that I’m curious about now is, how do you think sonny’s gonna react if he finds out that not only were you the mastermind behind me narcing on carly and drew… come on, nina! Would you stop saying that?! …You knew the truth the whole time, and you kept quiet. How do you think sonny’s gonna react to that? I’m guessing… …not well.

Trust me. You’re gonna be doing her and yourself a huge favor by getting her comfortable in the water as early as possible. You did that with scout? Yeah. And look at her now. She’s like a little fish. Okay. That makes me feel better. Okay. You’re not gonna regret it. Well, when you say it, I believe it. If it’ll make you fe el betterto blame me, then go ahead… and tell sonny your little story about how I convinced you to turn in carly and drew. Maybe I will. Then you can tell him how I thought it was a fabulous idea for you to sell the metro court to jason. Does not matter. He will not believe you. Why is that? Because sonny considers you a traitor, and he knows that you will say absolutely anything to get him back. That’s how desperate you are. No, not desperate. Hopeful. Because you told me to be. Do you hear yourself? I told you. I convinced you. How about thinking for yourself once in a while, nina? Then maybe sonny would have just a little respect for you. Oh, and he has respect for you? Not only does he respect me… he counts on me. Poor sonny. Face it, nina. I know and understand sonny in a way you never could. Since when are you so quick to think the worst of me? Your family? Not all my family. Just the ones that — who “betrayed” you. Yeah, yeah, I know. You’re like a broken record. And you’re cherry-picking history to make it line up with your version of events. What pieces am I ignoring, carly? The one where michael

didn’t turn you in, where he gave me the evidence instead, and I destroyed it to protect you. What about

those pieces? If it weren’t for me and michael, you’d be in jail right now, sonny! If it wasn’t for michael and you, dex would never have been planted in my organization to spy on me and that evidence wouldn’t have existed. Okay. Michael made a bad choice. But he turned it around. And dex was put in your organization then to protect you and to watch your back, and that’s exactly what he did. Hell, he saved your life multiple times! Doesn’t that count for anything? Not to me. So you went to see your father when I explicitly told you not to. Danny! We — we should talk. We’ll talk later. Danny is my first priority. Yeah, he’s mine, too. I said we’ll talk later. Just listen to what he has to say, mom. Please. Hey. I have an idea. Danny, why don’t you come with me to get a cup of coffee and — I want to stay. Come on, dude. We haven’t spent time together in a really long time. And I am all up in my feels as a pregnant woman. I would hate for you to make your aunt cry. Really, aunt kristina? Really.

[ Sighs ] Fine. Thank you. Yeah, of course. Just text me an “all clear” when I can bring him back. Okay. Alright, bud. Let’s go. Bye, dad. I’ll see ya.

[ Door closes ] How could you do this to our son?

You don’t understand sonny. You never have. -Really? -Really. He is a powerful… turbulent… and, yes, violent man. Meanwhile, you want to sit by the fire and grow old with him, dandling grandkids on your knees. And what’s wrong with that? Nothing, I guess. But if that’s the kind of life you want, perhaps don’t choose a notorious mob boss to live it with. Sonny chose me, ava. He loves me. And I do understand him. You want to know why? Because sonny showed me a side to him he never shows anyone. Yeah. Mike? From nixon falls?

[ Scoffs ] Come on, nina. Mike was never real. You have to face it. You saw what you wanted to see. That’s not true. And in your defense, you know, he — he encouraged you. He kept the darkest parts of himself hidden as best he could, so your — your fantasy could live on. And that’s exactly what it was. A fantasy. You couldn’t really know sonny because you didn’t want to. Not the real man anyway. And you know him? We are similar creatures, sonny and me. What’s your end game, ava? What does that mean? You living there, raising avery under the same roof. I know you. What do you get out of this? You knew the risk of keeping dex in my organization, just like you knew what was gonna happen when I found out the truth. There are no surprises here, carly. Everything you do surprises me lately, sonny.,, From writing your son off… almost killing dex… your attitude towards chase. Add it to the list, huh? I barely recognize you anymore. Right back at you, carly. Is this really how it ends for us, sonny? After all these years? Everything we’ve been through? This is it? This is it. You sure you don’t want a ninth spoonful? That might really do the trick. I hate the taste of coffee. Then why are you drinking it? Everyone at school does. I don’t know. Wow. Well, that — that’s great. I’m gonna just be here with my sad, decaffeinated herbal tea living vicariously through you, while you sip what I consider to be the nectar of the gods, and you don’t even enjoy it. Sorry. Don’t be. I’m only teasing. So, uh… do you want to talk about anything? We don’t have to. All I wanted to do was see my dad and hang out for just a minute. Why can’t my mom understand that? How has it been having him back? Good. Yeah? It hasn’t been weird or anything since he’s been gone for so long? It’s been easy. He — he treats me like a person. You know? He doesn’t get all parental. Like your mom does. Well, she is your mom, danny, and by definition, she just wants to protect you. From my own father? Maybe, yeah. She doesn’t let me do anything. She — it’s like I’m a — it’s like I’m a prisoner. Okay. I wouldn’t go that far. When is my mom gonna realize that I’m not a little kid anymore? Have you maybe thought of this from her side? Jason is your father, and, of course, you want a relationship with him. That makes sense. But it also makes sense that your mom just wants to protect you and keep you safe. And it’s — it’s hard, it’s confusing, and it’s — it’s not that cut-and-dry. Mom’s not afraid that I’m gonna get hurt. She doesn’t want me hanging out with him ’cause she’s afraid I’m just like him. Like him how? Going fast, taking chances. It’s — it’s hard to explain, but dad… he understands. I’m danny’s father. Nothing’s gonna change that. So we just have to try to figure out a way to handle this. I thought I had handled it when I told you to stay away from our son. Okay. That’s — that’s not working, sam. He’s gonna come look for me. He already did. Then tell him to leave! That’s — you think that’s gonna stop danny? Where you go, danger follows. Danny is too young to understand the risks or to control his — his impulses, so we will have to control that for him. You mean control him. If we have to. Yes.

[ Sighs ] Danny is just like you, jason. Except he doesn’t have the maturity or the experience to guide him. What is he finds himself in a dangerous situation and he’s not able to get out of it?

It’s not that I want to worry my mom or lie to her. Of course not. She wishes I was just like rocco. You think so? Steady, safe. He never gives mom or dante a reason to freak out. And I’m not like that, and I won’t pretend that I am. Your mom loves you for who you are, danny. I can guarantee you she doesn’t want you to pretend. But with jason back, it — it is confusing. And your mom, like the rest of us, is just trying to figure it out. I get that. Of course you do. You’re a smart and pathetic young man. Very questionable taste buds. Don’t like coffee? But I’m willing to overlook that. So what am i supposed to do? About jason? I’m sorry my mom’s confused or whatever else, but i won’t give up on my dad. It’s not only about the physical danger. Okay. Then what else? What happens the next time you disappear? And don’t say that it’s not gonna happen again, because it already did. You were here with danny, and then you were gone. Look. I-I wish I could make promises, but you know I can’T. So how do I let him invest in you? How do I let him see a future with you when you might not even be around for it? Okay. Look. I’ll set boundaries with danny. Okay? I’ll make sure that he never comes to the warehouse. Ever! Okay. And — and I promise that I’m gonna be honest with you. If you call and ask if he’s there, I’m gonna tell the truth and I’m gonna encourage danny to do the same thing. Okay. Because lying to me is not okay. I agree. But I don’t believe cutting danny off from me helps or protects our son. I guess this part of the conversation’s over. I am sorry that this is hard. I’m sorry about a lot of things.

[ Door opens ] You gonna make that call? Yes, I will. Okay.

[ Chuckles ] Hey, um, willow? Yeah. I’ve been spending more time with nina lately, you know, because of, um, crimson. Okay. And she’s been talking about you a lot. You and the kids. I thought maybe you’d like to know. What I “get” is a strong relationship with the father of my only living child. What I “get” is a partnership with sonny. So instead of being grudgingly tolerated for avery’s sake, sonny and I have formed an alliance. How nice. It is nice. We help each other. We lean on each other. And it comes naturally because we have a shorthand. Because of your mob days. We both understand how the world works. And he doesn’t have to explain things to me. Like he did with poor, naive me. He doesn’t have to hide things from me, either. In simplest terms, sonny and I are compatible in ways that the two of you never were and never could be. Well, have at it, ava. Sonny’s all yours. I try to protect you… then you call me a traitor. Fine. You know, we’ll… go our own ways. I’ll focus on my life. You can focus on yours. Sounds good. You know, carly… out of all the people that I thought would abandon me… …never thought you would.

Oh, I’ll never forget the day you stood at my doorstep you put your hand on my face you told me, “girl, you look great” for this love, there was no regret just a ticking clock I knew that time would run out for us that’s okay, your love was true oh, a different time oh, a different place maybe we would… I know that time would run out for us true…

Madison, find an appropriate box for these and have them messengered to mr. Corinthos’ address at the harbor view towers. That’s all.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

Oh, I swear, Kayla, only you can make a hazmat suit look chic. You are lucky to be alive, Paulina. Why, my number’s that bad? Well, you know, actually, physically, you checked out fine. And your numbers, although lower, are still too high for me to send you home. I mean, what were you thinking, sneaking out of here and driving up to Smith Island?

Look, look, I’m, I’m very sorry that I worried everyone. Well, luckily, I mean, although we did know that you had left the hospital, we didn’t know that you had commandeered a snow plow or driving on snowy roads in the middle of the night. Not to mention, You exposed Johnny and Chanel and Julie to radiation, and obviously that’s a big deal.

There’s gonna be an investigation, reports gonna be written. I know all that, Kayla. I know all that. I’m sorry I put people’s lives at risk, but don’t you understand? I felt I had no choice. Could you sit still and do nothing if your daughter was missing? I had to rescue my baby girl. Nothing, nothing was more important than that.

Well, I guess we can check being dagger countered off the bucket list. Dagger countered? I’m not sure if that’s a word. Yeah, I’m not so sure it’s a bucket list item either. Yeah, that was stupid. Definitely an experience. Slightly harrowing, right? More than slightly. I kept thinking that thing was gonna start howling like a fire alarm when they were checking me.

Yeah. Yeah, me too. Honey, I am so sorry that you had to go through all this because of me. Hey. Because of you, no. No, no way. Yes, it is. Because of me. Because if I hadn’t gone out into that snowstorm and Looking for me. Yeah. By the way. Okay, but still, if I had just trusted that you would come back like you said you would, and I would have just waited there, then I wouldn’t have got stuck between those stupid rocks, and Mama wouldn’t have risked so much.

Hey, you know, all that matters, okay? Hey. Is that she found you. Even if it means I didn’t get to be your hero. Okay. Yeah, you are my hero. Okay. You are strong and loyal and honest. And everything else that makes up a hero. Yeah, I don’t know about that. Yeah, well, I do. And on top of that, you make me happier than I’ve ever been.

Yeah? Oh, yeah. And I mean, what is more heroic than that?

Yeah, that’s right. The cabin has been vacated, and out of an abundance of caution, we’ve got Chanel, Julie, and Johnny being checked out at the hospital. I’m sure Johnny will call you soon. Love you too, Sammy. Give Sydney a kiss for me. Okay, bye. Oh, you are back from the monastery. Yeah. Well, I bet you never thought you’d be saying those words to me.

I did not. I was Lucas. Well, given the fact that he is required to live a life of chastity, poverty, and obedience, I mean, he’s hanging in. Temporary. He’ll be out of there soon. Yeah, I hope so. But no one knows. I mean, no one really knows anything. You know, Clyde has escaped, so does that mean that Lucas is no longer safe in the monastery?

I mean, does he have to go back to Statesville? There are so many questions. Just a whole lot of silence. Yeah, no, I get it. I get it. Lucas is in limbo right now, as you are. It’s not a great place to be. No, no, and it’s driving me insane. So, uh, is Harris upstairs? Because he has things that he needs to tell me.

You know, he will not answer any of my phone calls. Uh, he slept for work. Just a little while ago. Okay. I’m gonna go down to the police station. I’m gonna find him. Okay, well Good luck, Katie. Yeah, I’m gonna need it. Okay.

Closed for renovations. Come on. Everybody knows that the place is shut down because Stefan got arrested. Among other things. You regretting being dragged into this yet? No, I’m fine. There’s no way in hell I’m gonna let you do this alone. I’ll be out here standing watch in case you need me. Damn. You know, if Clyde hadn’t ordered me to go find his little black book with his narco contacts in it, it’s the last place I would be.

I know, but it couldn’t be the break that we’re waiting for. If we find Clyde, we put him away for good. Let’s just get this done, okay? Good thing you got on one of these, huh?

Well,

it’s not the Ritz, but it’s pleasant enough. Well, it’s only for a couple of days. And then I’ll be, I’ll be back at home. Whoa. But still having to stay a few feet away from everybody. Strange how a little tiny pill can radiate for days. Hey, hi. Hey, Kayla. I take full responsibility for pulling this escape. I, I should have been keeping an eye on her.

It is not your fault. I was told actually that you were covering her event. Fundraiser. I just wish she had called me before she did something so reckless. So, uh, how is she doing? Well, her levels are still higher than I’d like, but if she follows the proper protocol, I think that she could probably go home tomorrow.

Great, great, great. Look, Kayla, I promise you from here on out, I will keep her in line. Hmm, well, good luck with that.

So, now what will we both just do? Keep our distance till we’re radiation free. Oh my god, if we have to isolate, I am going to go nuts. Okay, you two. Hey. Hey, uh, Dr. Johnson, is my ankle broken? Uh, no. I checked with the team and the x rays show no breaks, no fractures. Just a very serious sprain. Okay, well that is good news, and um, it’s honestly starting to feel a little bit better already.

Great. Great. Well, uh, you just need to keep it wrapped up and elevate it, ice it to minimize the swelling, and maybe try to stay off of it as much as you can, all right? Okay, I can do that. Good. On other news, as you know, you were exposed to more radiation than Johnny and Julie, so your levels are a little higher, but I don’t think it’s anything to worry about.

So, then Well, you’re saying we’re good to go? I am, and you are, both of you. Great, what, what a relief. Yeah, but listen, like I said to Julie, if you feel anything, weakness, nausea, dizziness, anything, you come back here and let us check you out, all right? Copy that. Okay. Get out of here, you two. Do you know what I’m gonna do now?

I’m gonna kiss you.

Oh, there you are. Kate, listen, now’s, now’s not a good time. Okay, well, you’re going to need to make it a good time, you see, because I’ve left you three messages and not a return phone call, nothing. Okay, Kate, listen. Okay, and the other thing, you’ve been avoiding me at the pub. Now, why is that, Harris? Why are you avoiding me?

I’m glad to be getting out of here. Because of Tripp and Wendy? Yeah. I just don’t want them caught in the line of fire again now that Clyde’s still in my hair. I just, yeah, I can’t believe he wants another favor with this damn black book. I just, I wish I was there when he, when he called you. Yeah, well, hearing his voice makes my skin crawl.

The hell are you doing?

I was just picking up the last of my things. You got a lot of personal things behind the wine bottles? Look, I was just, uh, Okay, you caught me. Alright, I figured a couple bottles of good wine was the least this place owed me. Why am I being interrogated? What are you doing here? What am I I own the place.

I’m doing inventory. Did you see the sign on the door? Can’t wait to see it in a couple of weeks. Yeah, it’s kind of hard to miss. Look, EJ let me keep the restaurant when he kicked me out at DiMera. And I figured my people had been out of work long enough, and with Clyde out of the picture We’re going to reopen and make this the best damn restaurant in the state.

Kate, I have not been avoiding you. I’ve been extremely busy recovering from nearly being killed. I’m trying to track down Clyde Weston. Oh, yes, well, all of us, everyone wants the police to find Clyde Weston now, don’t we? But you’re not doing that single handedly, correct? You see, because I need you to focus on getting Lucas out of that monastery and out of Statesville permanently.

Because as you remember, remember that sting that got 13 dealers off the street? Well, that was thanks to Lucas and your promise. Okay, we knew dismantling Clyde’s syndicate inside Statesville was going to take some time, even with everything Lucas gave us. Well, it’s really easy for you to be patient, isn’t it?

Because it’s not your son who’s in that monastery, slowly going insane. Okay, I understand. No. No, you don’t understand, you see, because you almost got my son killed. You got him pulled into all of this and then you abandoned him. So if you want to talk and tell, I suggest you do a deep dive on me and what I’ve been capable of, especially when it comes to protecting my children.

I would do anything for my girls, Abraham. You should not be shocked by that. My daughter was lost in a snowstorm. I had no choice but to do what I did. That’s where we disagree. You put people at risk, Paulina. Okay, I’ll own that. You, you risked your own life. It was a calculated risk. I was told the radioactivity would decrease with time.

The doctors hadn’t cleared you, Paulina. It wasn’t safe for you to leave. Full stop. I know, I know, I know. Not only did I put lives at risk, including my own, I abused my power and potentially damaged my reputation. It’s all, you know, all been pointed out to me already. But I, I will repeat, Abraham, my daughter was missing.

I was afraid I would never, never see her again. And now No way was I just going to sit in this room and twiddle my thumbs. Paulina, I love that you’re the force of nature that you are. But this was, this was ill advised, to say the least. I’ll admit, I’ll admit, uh, I took a chance. That it was a risky thing to do, but we all, we all made it out of that place.

Very treacherous situation alive because of me and Chanel was reminded once again that I will stop at nothing. Nothing to make sure that she’s safe. That’s a win win in my book. Uh, so. Now, you know, that’s all settled. Did anyone find my phone? Okay, easy.

You alright? Hurts pretty bad, huh? Yeah, just when I put too much pressure on it. Stop doing that. Yeah, well, why didn’t I think of that? I’m trying to help. Alright. Okay, that’s better. See? Uh huh. See? Uh huh. Man, what a week, right? In the hospital, limping, radioactive. Yeah, but the rest of it was perfect though, right?

I mean, you know, Julie showing up as we’re making out on the couch, thinking the cabin was empty. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I had successfully blocked that out, so thanks for reminding me. Yeah, no problem. And then, all of us getting trapped together in a massive snowstorm, which led to you breaking your ankle.

It’s just a sprain. Well, that was embellishing for dramatic. Oh, yes, of course. I am an aspiring filmmaker, after all. Yeah, I totally understand. And then, the cherry on top. Mama Paulina showing up and giving us all radiation poisoning. Yeah, well, at least she got to drive a snow plow. Yeah, it’s a shame there were no videos of that.

Or even pictures. You know what? I think That we should give it another try. What do you say? We head back to the cabin for round two? Are you crazy? Absolutely not. Okay.

Well, there she is, the one and only, Dr. Johnson. Hello, brother of mine. Great to see you, sis. You too. Everything okay? Well, it’s been quite a day, actually. Well, sounds like you need a Carolyn Brady special. Ah, some mom’s clam chowder? And a shoulder to lean on. Yeah, I need that more than you know. Okay, well, have a seat.

I gotcha.

Ooh, congratulations. From CEO of a multinational corporation to barkeeper. America loves its riches to rags to her. You mind hurrying things up? I’ve got work to do. Yeah, in the restaurant that we built together. Also the restaurant that we ran drugs out of. Have you forgotten that? No, I have not forgotten that.

My son was kidnapped and nearly killed. And my wife was beaten in prison, leg broken. Have you forgotten that too? You know what? You tried to kill Harris twice, so I don’t know why you are giving me grief. You should still be behind bars. What are you, judge, jury, and executioner now? Is that it? Look, I’m just saying, you’re really lucky that you have got a brother with some pull, okay?

Because I’m not. Those, those get out of jail free cards, they really do come in handy, don’t they? You know, that would be an astute observation if it were accurate. But it turns out the get out of jail free card came from Harris. And you know what? I’m not going to sit here and take the blame for a deal that went sideways.

Well, you know that, that your attempt, your attempt at accountability, It’s inspiring. You should also be kissing my feet, bowing down and kissing my feet because I took the blame for this. For everything. You know what? And you were just as guilty as I was. Oh, you are a saint. You are a saint, Stefan. I mean, like, there’s no two ways about it.

I have my regrets, okay? For the things that I’ve done these past several months.

Including what happened between us. Ooh. Huuuuh. Huuh. Oooh. Oooh. Huuuh. Haaaah. HAAHH. Huh. Oooh. I’m sorry, but we’re out late.

But I would do it all again to protect my family. So would I.

You’re right, I would.

Stefan, there’s something that I’ve been meaning to tell you. Look, I actually came here tonight because I

You gonna finish that sentence? Because

I was Feeling nostalgic. About this place. You know, in all the good times I had here, we had here. Were there any? Come on, of course there were.

I guess I just wanted to see the place one last time. Okay.

Okay, I guess I have, and I guess that’s it. I have everything I need. I’m gonna need to get your keys back.

Wow, Kayla, damn. Look, I know you’re used to taking on a lot, but this is way too much, even for you. No, no, no, I can handle it, and I don’t mean to sound like I’m complaining. You have every right to complain. Well, not when I remind myself about what other people have been going through. I mean, that nightmare at Smith Island.

I mean, it’s such a relief that Chanel was found and that everybody, everybody’s alright. Yeah, but what the hell was Paulina thinking? Well, she wasn’t, obviously. Well, she was, but, you know, it was very tunnel vision. I mean, all that mattered to her was saving her child. Which, I mean, of course, we can relate to that.

I mean, every parent wants that. I just think that there are other ways to accomplish it, you know? Anyway, I’m sure she feels like her decision is now vindicated. Well, not sure she should. But, as you say and as we both know, we’d do anything to protect and save our kids. Speaking of which, I haven’t seen Stephanie around lately.

How’s she doing? Well, she’s, she’s going through a rough time. I’m sorry to hear that. Yeah, I mean, I know she wouldn’t want me to go into details about it. I’ll just say that she She’s had her heart broken again, you know, and I, I just wish there was something I could do to make it easier for her, you know?

Magic fix? But I know all I can really do is just be there for her. Well, she’s very lucky. Anybody that’s got you on their side is better off for it. I don’t know about that, but I certainly would do anything for that girl. And those boys of mine. Well, just don’t go stealing any snowplows. Well, that’s not likely.

Kayla. You do know, I am always here for you. Along with Mars Chatter. You are the best brother in the world. Well, I think I’m gonna go to the restroom before I head out.

Any luck? Oh yeah, I ran into Harris on the way to the police station and we had a few words. How’d that go? I told him to get Lucas freed or else.

You know, maybe I should just hang on to the keys. You know, in case of an emergency. Or something, you know, I could always fill in if you need me. I certainly have a lot of time on my hands since I’m still looking for work. I appreciate that, but I think I’m good. And for what it’s worth, I think you and I need to, uh Make a clean break.

Okay.

You take care of yourself. You too.

Well that happened. Yeah, twice. Yeah. That’s incredible. Yeah.

I made a freakin mistake. Yeah.

Well? Clyde’s book’s nowhere to be found. Are you sure? Just let me go back in there with you. No, no, no, no. I don’t think that’s such a good idea. Stefan’s in there right now. Yeah, he, uh, that’s why I came out so quickly. He says he’s back here to do inventory before he reopens. Things got pretty heated between the two of us, and he made me turn my keys back in.

Okay, you know, we should, we should go. No, no, no, you know what, I’m just gonna hang back and talk to Stefan here, just, just the two of us.

Play nice.

I’m unarmed, detective. Just so you know. I’m not. Just so you know. Okay, why don’t you say what you need to say. You know, I have a question. How the hell are you out of jail?

Well, I would say that we ran the gauntlet. Came out on the other side, relatively unscathed. We spoke to my mother, waved at yours through some protective glass, of course. Let’s blow this popsicle stand, huh? Absolutely. All right. Okay, okay. Okay, hold on. I am telling you, it is not going to be easy going up those stairs to our bedroom.

That’s why we’re not going back there just yet. Okay, don’t even joke like that. I told you I am never going back to that. Yes, okay, I know, you’ve made your point very clear. I, uh, actually had something else in mind. Another surprise? Yes, but you’re gonna like this one, I promise.

Let’s go.

Ava! Oh, hey, Kayla. Um, nice to see you, but if you’ll excuse me, I’ve gotta No, no, no. As a matter of fact, I won’t. Oh, okay. Here it comes. Where do I even begin? Oh, I don’t know. How about my, um, reckless disregard for anyone but myself? Oh, you think you’re so smart, don’t you? But you never learn. Well, you know something?

There’s gonna be a reckoning. With all the damage that you’ve caused my family and the people that I care about. You know, I don’t have time for this. And nearly getting your son killed? By the way, I mean, how do you even sleep at night? I tried to protect my son. I begged him to go to China with Wendy. He didn’t listen.

Oh, well, that’s a great solution. Trying to convince your son to leave the continent so he stays out of the crossfire of your crimes. And if you can fathom what it would do to Steve if Trip lost his life, he is my son. Can you even fathom what it would do to me? But you would have been responsible for it!

Of course, you probably would have figured out a way to blame somebody else. Okay. You have no idea what I had to do to save my son. Oh, damn it, Ava! You wouldn’t have had to save him if you wouldn’t have gotten involved with Clyde Weston in the first place. Oh, my God, how dare you? It’s just another one of your kind.

Conniving little self centered schemes. And then you have the cruelty to drag Steve into it. Forcing him to break that psycho out of prison. Oh, yeah. I know all about it. Okay, then maybe you want to keep your voice down? Unless you want to see your husband behind bars. You abuse people, Ava. And you abuse Steve over and over and over again.

And I’m going to tell you something right now. You stay the hell away from my husband. You understand me. What’s going on out here?

Now the only thing that makes sense is you and EJ must have cooked up some kind of deal or your ass would still be locked up. You seem very passionate about that. No, I’m passionate about making the world a safer place. You tried to kill me and you confess to working for a drug lord. But it made me, maybe the judge realized that I did what I did because my wife’s life was threatened.

And also that I offered the police and the prosecution useful evidentiary information that led to the significant dismantling of said drug lord’s operation. So why don’t you cool your crusader routine? The judge would never have considered TimeServe without a recommendation from the DA. Oh, you got something on EJ, don’t you?

And not only is that conjecture, it’s also projection because you had something on me, right? You forced my confession, remember? Oh, isn’t that a neat little story that you have? But you’re not denying it, you have something on your brother. All works in mysterious ways, detective. What an arrogant son of a bitch you are.

Be that as it may, for what it’s worth, I am truly sorry for shooting you. And I was relieved when I found out that he would pull through. I know that may be hard to believe, but it is the truth. And if I could go back, I would change so many things.

Alright, so what do you wish you could go back and change? Helping Clyde escape, maybe? No, no, I did not help Clyde escape prison. Yeah? I don’t believe you. I swear on my life. So you’re telling me right now Clyde has not reached out to you since he escaped? No, if he had, I would have alerted the authorities immediately.

Why? Because you’re an upstanding citizen now? There is no gray area for me, as far as Clyde is concerned. For all I hope, he has run far, far away, never to be seen or heard from again. Or better off, dead. Now, I did a lot that I’m not proud of. Just like Ava. Just like you. But I swear to everything I hold dear in this life, I had nothing to do with that monster escaping prison.

Then who the hell did?

Everything is fine. We are, uh, just clearing up a few things here. You sure about that? Yep, yep, I’m sure. Yeah. And if I could just have the key to our room, I will be out of everyone’s hair. What room? Harris’s and mine. I’m staying with him. Your name’s not on that lease, Avis. And no, I can’t give you a key, nor can you stay there.

What? Are you really that puritanical? You’re gonna police who can stay in whose room? No. This is personal, actually, after what you did to my sister, turning her life upside down. You can stay somewhere. Sure as hell won’t be under my roof. Okay, well we’ll see what Harris has to say about that. Yeah, I’m the landlord.

This is my pub. There’s all the rooms above it. I call the shots here, Ava.

Fine.

Thank you. My pleasure.

Where did they find my phone? Out near where you found Chanel. I’ll go pick it up tomorrow. Does that mean you’re not angry anymore?

I don’t love what you did. But I get why you did it and I’m willing to let it go. Oh, bless you, eh? Besides, I’ve been more worried than angry. Oh, well, no need for worry either anymore. Everyone is fine and safe and I’ll soon be radiation free and home with my wonderful husband. I love you. I love you too, Abraham.

Okay. Get it? Get it? Yeah? Okay. Oh, wow. Wow, did you set this up? Yeah, well, the rooms don’t just come like this. Okay, well, you know what? It is a shame because they definitely should. This is just so romantic and lovely. And you know what? I think every hotel should come with a room that has rose petals and candles and champagne.

Yeah, well, I’ll make a suggestion to the manager, okay? And carry me over the threshold again. Well, Dr. Johnson said. To keep you off your feet. Oh, wow. You better be planning to keep me off my feet all night long. Oh, that is the plan. Okay. Oh, uh, wait, question. Um, you checked us in under Mr. and Mrs. John Doe.

Why? Well, you know, I thought after everything we’ve been through, it might be nice if no one could track us down. You know, no more unexpected surprises like back at the cabin. Oh. Wow, you really thought of everything, didn’t you? And, not to spoil the moment or anything, but seriously, how did you set this up?

Ah, it was nothing, you know, a couple calls to the concierge here and to the staff back at home. Some greasing of palms. Oh, and I almost forgot.

Are you gonna serenade me? Indeed, I am. Oh, God. Oh, how lucky am I. Not only do I have the sexiest man in the world, but he also sings and plays the guitar. Yeah. I can also play Chopsticks on the piano and Hot Cross Buns on the recorder. He’s multi talented. Okay, here it goes. Okay.

Baby, your love has been a savior. Every day without your touch is like a wrecking wheel.

Lately,

and I find myself alone here,

but every time I see your smile, how the stones, they clear.

Well, I’ve been working this time say, me, honey, you and I, or so. That each mornin I wake, you’re the sun in my day. Each mornin I wake, you’re the sun in my day. Each mornin I wake, you’re the sun in my daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay So, honey, how was your first day? We haven’t even had a chance to talk, and I was really tired last night. Um Yeah, no, it went okay. I mean it’s a huge relief that all my classes are in the central building, so Well, yeah, that’s, that’s good. And since you are back in school, I’m returning this to you. What, so you can keep tabs on me?

I am giving you an opportunity to earn your trust back with me, young lady. And I hope and pray that you do.

You know, I didn’t start drinking coffee until I was about 19, 20. Really? Yeah. I was told that it stunts your growth. That’s so weird. I think it just gives me anxiety. Oh, great. Where is our waiter? Finn usually has the early shift and I haven’t seen her at all. You’re right. That is weird. You know what? Uh, I’ll be right back.

[ Mellow music ]

Deacon: Right, so you’re– you’re telling me that this sugar woman had cosmetic surgery and looks just like sheila?

Lauren: Not looks like. She’s sheila’s identical twin. Look, deacon, I realize how farfetched this all sounds.

Deacon: Farfetched? This sounds insane.

Lauren: But still, it’s true. And that means…

Deacon: What it means is that I’m not crazy after all. That I did see sheila’s face and ten toes.

Steffy: Deacon’s delusional. I told him that the other day.

Liam: You two got into it?

Steffy: Sheila’s dead. I was there. I’m the one who killed her.

Liam: Yeah, I know. In self-defense.

Steffy: Yes! There’s no way she’s still alive. Like I said, the guy’s delusional.

Hope: Well, clearly my father must be in a considerable amount of pain if he’s saying things like this.

Finn: Look, grief can do strange things to a person.

Hope: This is beyond bizarre, what my dad is claiming. I mean, obviously he’s mistaken, but…

Finn: I’m sure he’ll realize eventually.

Hope: Well, what about you? How are you feeling? My dad asked you if a part of you still wishes your birth mother could be here. And you said it didn’t matter because she’s gone. But how would you feel if, against all odds, my father was right about sheila?

Hope: I– I’m not trying to put you on the spot.

Finn: No, I know, and I appreciate that.

Hope: Hm. I mean, your feelings are your feelings. I just– I don’t know, I can’t help but wonder. I mean, does some part of you wish that sheila were still alive?

Liam: It’s has gotta be getting to you, right? Wearing you down?

Steffy: I’m fine.

Liam: Yeah, okay, but– but you would say that even if you weren’T.

Steffy: If deacon would move on, we could all get on with our lives. Instead, he’s concocting these absurd stories. I just want to be done with sheila once and for all.

Deacon: You saw this woman, sugar’s face, with your own two eyes?

Lauren: Yes.

Deacon: She’s the spitting image of sheila?

Lauren: Sheila’s mother wouldn’t be able to tell the difference.

Deacon: But how is this even possible? I mean, to– to transform one person into another, to give them the same face? I mean, look, I don’t care how talented a plastic surgeon is, to pull something like that off, it’s– it’s–

Lauren: It’s mind-blowing.

Deacon: It’s preposterous. This is the craziest story I’ve ever heard. Sheila really did a number on you, didn’t she?

Lauren: For years. Decades. The nightmare that was sheila carter began with me, and I was so happy that it ended with steffy.

Deacon: And now, like me, you’re wondering if maybe it didn’T. Lauren, this is why you have to tell me everything that you know about sheila and sugar.

[Alarm bell]

Hope: Yeah, but feelings are already complicated enough as is. And then, to have people that have had a big impact on our lives, good or bad, that just–

Finn: Like– like sheila.

Hope: Yeah. I mean, finn, you didn’t know who your birth mother was for the majority of your life. All those years of wondering, and then to finally find out, and it’S… her?

Finn: Yeah, and unfortunately, sheila came with a lot of baggage. She’s done terrible things to my wife and her family. And after all of that, I shouldn’t have any feelings at all for sheila. But I have felt a connection to her. One that I have never fully understood. And I don’t know if it’s biological or what it is, but to answer your question, do I want sheila dead? Stabbed to death by my wife? No.

Steffy: It’s like sheila is still pulling the strings, beyond the grave, and deacon is helping.

Liam: I– I know it feels that way, but sooner or later, deacon is gonna realize that this crazy woman he was integrating into his life is actually gone. It’s just– in the meantime…

Steffy: In the meantime, we can’t get back to normal. Something I want so badly.

Liam: I know, I know, I want that for you too. God knows you’ve been through enough because of sheila, and it just needs to be over.

Steffy: I thought it was, liam. I mean, they pronounced her dead. I thought that sheila could no longer harm me or my family.

Liam: Steffy, hey, she can’T. She actually can’T. No matter how much deacon rants and raves about her still being alive, which is weird.

Steffy: See, that’s– that’s what’s still so frustrating. Like, he’s not able to let her go.

Liam: Well, I– I would say cut the guy some slack, because he’s grieving, except… you know, his actions are hurting you, and that’s not acceptable. And by the way, you know this applies to finn too, right?

Sheila: My husband is just as concerned. But he doesn’t have any more sway over deacon than I do.

Liam: Really? Even though he’s her son?

Steffy: Okay, even though finn is sheila’s biological son, that’s all it’s ever gonna be. She’s never gonna touch finn’s life, or our lives, ever again.

Deacon: I realize this isn’t easy for you, reliving everything sheila put you through.

Lauren: You have no idea.

Deacon: I think I do. Yeah, I love sheila. I mean, as crazy as it sounds to everyone, but… I’m aware of a lot of the awful things she’s done.

Lauren: Just not all of them.

Deacon: Clearly. Especially not the sugar-sheila connection. She never said a word about it.

Lauren: Let’s just say… I don’t know why you let a woman like sheila into your life.

Deacon: I’m not sure either. Not entirely, anyway. But it happened. And now, I’m left trying to figure out something else about sheila.

Lauren: Whether she’s really dead or not.

Deacon: Or if something else is going on. And based on everything you’ve told me, I’m starting to think there is. All right, so… so sheila befriended sugar, who was her warden.

Lauren: Right. And sugar helped her escape. They somehow made it to south america. And sheila promised sugar some plastic surgery. But sheila had the plastic surgeon make sugar identical to sheila. I found out about it when sheila and I were held captive. And that is when–

Deacon: And that’s when she confessed that she made sugar look like her.

Lauren: Confessed? More like bragged. She was so proud of herself that she was able to pull that off. Just another in the long list of crimes by sheila carter.

Deacon: You know, I was really starting to think that I was going crazy. I mean… you know, now that I think about this, I’m more and more convinced that the body that I saw getting torched, that was sugar, not sheila. With cascade platinum plus,

Finn: Does that sound crazy?

Hope: Not wanting your birth mother to be dead? No.

Finn: She did terrible, hurtful things.

Hope: You’ve never made excuses for her, finn. You always knew who sheila was, what she was capable of.

Finn: Exactly. So why aren’t I just glad she’s out of my life forever?

Hope: Well, I don’t want to tell a doctor, but, you know, feelings are complicated. They don’t always make sense.

Finn: Well, in this case, though, it’s not like sheila was part of my world for my entire life. And the fact of the matter is, I was raised by two very loving and amazing adoptive parents who wanted nothing but the best for me. And then, when sheila finally did appear… on my wedding day, no less… for those few moments before I introduced her to steffy and the family, completely unaware of the history that they shared, uh, I– I was thrilled. I mean, I finally had a face and a name to the woman who had carried me for nine months. It was like having all the pieces to the puzzle finally completed, making a picture. You know? At least most of it. Does that make any sense?

Hope: Absolutely.

Finn: You know what doesn’t make any sense, though? How I could still feel something. Or anything for sheila. When she almost took everything that ever mattered to me. My wife, my mom… I mean, my little boy was almost an orphan because of her. And just that should’ve made me want nothing to do with her. Ever. So, I didn’T. At least I know this. Whatever my feelings for sheila, now or then… they aren’t important. Not compared to my feelings for steffy and the kids’ safety and happiness.

Liam: It’s gotta feel good being able to say that.

Steffy: Well, it’s true. Sheila can’t touch our lives ever again.

Liam: Which means that you get to breathe a huge sigh of relief.

Steffy: I do. Feels good that sheila’s not here doing her worst.

Liam: I mean, her worst almost cost you your life, so…

Steffy: My husband’s, too. For months, I thought he was dead. Our lives were turned upside down. And somehow, she got out of her crimes. She, like… she avoided justice. ‘Til the night I grabbed the knife and I defended myself.

Liam: And now, for the first time in ages, you can just relax, right? You don’t have to constantly look over your shoulder and worry about the kids.

Steffy: Yeah, that’s– that’s such a relief. Countless times I stood up to her. And the last time–

Liam: Was fatal. For her.

Steffy: Deacon is an idiot if he actually thinks that sheila is alive.

Deacon: So, I’m guessing this happened quite a while ago. Sugar busting out of the mental facility and posing as sheila.

Lauren: Yes. She attacked my son, scotty. And framed sheila. And she almost got away with it.

Deacon: How did she get busted? You know, it didn’t make sense to me that sheila would attack scott. She loved him too much. But that’s a whole other story. I went to go pay her a visit after she was arrested. And that’s when I noticed it.

Deacon: Noticed what?

Lauren: Sheila had severely hurt her ankle. And was walking with a limp. But when they led this sheila away… there was no limp. She was walking perfectly. The police confirmed it and the fingerprints didn’t match.

Deacon: This is– this is unbelievable.

Lauren: And that’s when the floodgates opened up. Sugar confessed everything. She said she did it to– to get back at sheila. She gave up everything for sheila. Her face. Her freedom. So, I mean, honestly, van you even blame her?

Deacon: For– for what? For hating her? For turning her back on her? I mean, that is what you’re saying, right? That sugar had it out for sheila, right?

Lauren: That’s exactly what I’m saying. (Chef vo) fancy feast.

Hope: You do realize you are way overdue, right?

Finn: For what?

Hope: Oh, just… husband and father of the year nomination. I mean, no, really. It’s your unwavering commitment to the kids and your wife. You’re always putting them first.

Finn: You don’t think liam deserves a nom?

Hope: Ah, I think he deserves father of the year, absolutely. He is a great dad. But I do believe your category was husband and father of the year.

Finn: So, we’re not in direct competition for that.

Hope: No, I think you can rest easy on that one. But you really do love it, don’t you?

Finn: Being married to steffy? Yeah. And being the father of two of the most splendiferous kids.

Hope: Oh, splendiferous?

Finn: Yeah. Yes, splendiferous. It’s– it’s kelly’s new favorite word. She’s been using it all the time. Steffy and I have no idea where she picked it up, but she’s been using it constantly. I think it’s wearing off on– on hayes, too. Well, maybe not. I don’t know.

Hope: See, this is what I’m talking about. It’s just– it’s the way you delight in your kids and– and being a husband and your devotion to them. Finn, you’re a good man. And steffy should know how lucky she is to have you.

Steffy: Well, I know you’re in the building to talk business with carter, so I’m assuming that you need to get back to spencer.

Liam: You giving me the heave-ho?

Steffy: I’m not doing that. I just don’t want to waste your time talking about sheila.

Liam: I don’t care. I’ll talk to you anytime, about anything.

Steffy: I know but you have a life, too.

Liam: Well, as it happens, the two biggest priorities in the aforementioned life happen to be my two beautiful, sweet daughters, and you happen to be one of their mothers. Which is kind of why I’m doing all this soul-searching lately, just trying to be the best man and father I can be right now.

Steffy: I think you’re pretty terrific as you are.

Liam: Aw, shucks, thanks. But you’re a little biased. We spent a long time together. We were extremely close and we were fiercely in love. And that– that kind of love, it doesn’t just die.

Deacon: So, you really think sugar could be looking for some payback against of sheila?

Lauren: You’re getting ahead of yourself.

Deacon: How?

Lauren: Sugar is still in prison for her own crimes.

Deacon: What?

Lauren: I just told you. She attacked my son. She tried to kill him.

Deacon: I hope she didn’t succeed.

Lauren: No, no, no, thank god. But if you’re asking me if sugar despises sheila, one hundred percent. Sheila changed her face to look like her own. She set her up to go to prison for her crimes. So, if you think that she has been dreaming about getting revenge on sheila, absolutely.

Deacon: Right.

Lauren: But remember…

Deacon: She’s locked up. She’s not a threat. Unless…

Lauren: Unless what?

Deacon: What– what was sugar’s real name?

Lauren: It was janet webber. Why?

Deacon: I’ve got to find out everything I can about her.

Lauren: Oh, I was so hoping that my decades-long war with sheila was over, and that she was dead. Now, it seems that that may not be the case. Okay, look, I, uh, I’ve gotta get back to genoa city. But deacon, I hope you’re wrong. I hope your eyes were playing tricks on you and that it was sheila that was cremated.

Deacon: Sheila, what happened to you?

Days of Our Lives logo

Recap written by Michele and Cheryl

Maggie asked Konstantin to marry her. He was speechless. She wanted to help him and wasn’t ready for him to leave Salem. He was grateful to her, but he couldn’t accept her proposal. Kristen wanted answers from Stefan and EJ about what’s happening. Stefan let her know that EJ was supposed to give him back his things. EJ corrected him and said he would get half. Kirsten needed to know what was going on. Stefan wanted her to ask EJ. Maggie was surprised Konstantin wouldn’t accept her proposal. He didn’t want to cause problems with her family. She wanted to make amends for what Victor did. Maggie thought marrying him was the right thing to do regardless of what her family thought about it. He agreed to marry her after all. EJ felt like he didn’t owe Kristen an explanation. He said that blood meant more than anything. Kristen reminded him that she was just as much a DiMera as he was. EJ informed Stefan that he had to resign from the company. Stefan didn’t like how he ruined his reputation while EJ came out smelling like a rose. Maggie wanted Konstantin to keep their engagement to himself. She walked out the room. Konstantin thought all the pieces were falling into place. Maggie hoped she was doing the right thing by marrying Konstantin. Theresa had a conversation with Alex and he let her know that the magazine was going to close. She was upset and decided to quit. Theresa went to see Maggie and talked to her about what happened with the magazine. Maggie tried to make her feel better. Theresa realized she only got the job because she flirted with Alex. Maggie believed that she had the talent to make the magazine work. Theresa felt like she was a pretender. Maggie built her up so she would feel better. She blamed Alex for what happened with the magazine. Maggie wanted to talk to Alex about it.

Konstantin ran into Theresa at the mansion. Kristen wondered if Stefan was going to let EJ steam roll over him and take the business. Stefan said he had to quit or be fired. He realized that she was pardoned felon. Stefan thought she could be CEO. Kristen liked the idea. They felt like they were going to make a great team. Stefan wanted to take EJ out of DiMera Enterprises. Konstantin threatened Theresa. He warned her to stick with the plan or she would regret it. Stefan figured Kristen wanted the CEO position. She admitted that she wanted it. Kristen wondered what he wanted in return. He wanted her to help him get Gabi out of prison. Maggie met with Alex. She wanted to congratulate him to give him another chance to make the right decision. She wanted him to bring her back to Titan. Maggie knew the company was struggling and she wanted to make it successful the way it was. She thought they could work together. Theresa hated that Konstantin was lying to Maggie. He said he was fond of Maggie. Under different circumstances, the money should have been his. Theresa told him to leave Salem because no one will want to have anything to do with him after what he did to Maggie. He refused to leave Salem until he did what he went there to do. Kristen thought trying to get Gabi out of prison would be insane. Stefan thought she was overqualified for the job. He wanted to know if she wanted the job. Stefan asked her if they had a deal. She said she would think about it. Kristen asked if Gabi killed Li. Stefan said she didn’t. She told him that he had to find the person who killed him.

Days Update Friday, April 19, 2024

Days of Our Lives Update

Days of Our Lives logo

Update written by Joseph

Chad and Thomas play magic cards at the Brady Pub as Thomas tries to explain the game to Chad. Stephanie comes in and identifies the game, so Chad asks her to help him.

Marlena finishes a call at home as John brings her a glass of water. They talk about Jude being asleep as they are babysitting. John asks about Kayla. Marlena confirms that everyone was rescued from the cabin and on their way to the hospital. John asks about the radiation. Marlena says that Paulina did her best to distance herself, so it seems like everyone should be okay. Marlena adds that she understands why Paulina went out there because of her daughter, but she knows Paulina would be feeling a lot of guilt if she got anyone sick. John remarks that guilt is really rough to live with.

Rafe goes to the police station and checks in with Jada, who informs him that the state troopers checked the campgrounds in Montana where Clyde Weston was allegedly seen but it was a mistaken identity. Rafe complains that he thought it was a good lead. Jada encourages that Clyde or Goldman will eventually mess up. Jada goes to update the evidence log. Everett then arrives and asks Rafe if there’s any news on the manhunt. Rafe says no and even if there were, he wouldn’t be sharing it with him. Everett questions if he’s denying press access. Rafe responds that he’s denying Everett and declares that until he does the right thing and signs the divorce papers to give Jada some peace of mind, he’s not welcome here.

Konstantin joins Maggie in the living room of the Kiriakis Mansion. Maggie talks about trying to pick out a wedding date but notes that she has to check with her lawyer to go over any possible immigration paperwork and if there’s time to get it completed before his VISA expires. Konstantin says he has something to offer her to express his commitment to their arrangement. Konstantin tells her it’s his gratitude for her help and generosity as he then presents her with a ring which he says belonged to his mother and now he wants Maggie to have it. Maggie tells him that it’s beautiful but cries that she can’t accept it because she’s not ready yet to remove her ring from Victor. Maggie hopes she hasn’t offended him. Konstantin says she could never do that and offers to put the ring on a chain and asks if she would accept wearing it around her neck. Maggie says that would be lovely and thanks him. Konstantin swears that he would never take advantage of her.

Marlena agrees with John that guilt can be very difficult to live with, but says that sometimes it can have a positive effect and turn things in the right direction. John questions if she thinks he doesn’t have any reason to feel guilty. John talks about a homicidal maniac being free because of him and an innocent young woman was killed by him. John knows he said he’d work on it but calls it such a damn struggle. Jude then wakes up crying, so John goes to get his bottle. Marlena tells Jude that John is such a good man and he really deserves some peace of mind.

Thomas excitedly hugs Stephanie. Chad mentions being hungry and sends Thomas to get them cookies. Stephanie sits with Chad and notices that Thomas left Konstantin’s card in with the rest of the cards and calls it a neat card. Chad thanks her for rescuing him. Stephanie talks about how she used to play the card game all the time in Seattle with her brothers and mentions that Everett taught her how to play. Stephanie adds that she heard Stefan is out of jail and showed up at EJ’s press conference, so she asks what’s going on. Chad says other than reporting on it, he’s doing his best to stay out of all the DiMera insanity for he and his children’s sake. Chad adds that he can’t wait to get back in to the Horton House and talks about his kids identifying as Hortons even though Abigail is gone.

Rafe tells Everett that he has nothing to say to him, so he can send another reporter over from the Spectator and he’ll be happy to comment. Everett says he gets it but that what happened between he and Jada is personal, so what he’s doing is abuse of power. Rafe questions him talking to him about abuse after he lied to Jada, cheated on her, says he doesn’t know who she is and refuses to sign the divorce papers. Rafe asks what the hell is wrong with him. Everett responds that he honestly wishes he knew. Rafe tells him that if he’s looking for sympathy, he’s not going to find it with him after he treated Jada like crap, lied to her, and cheated on her while now insisting she’s a stranger but he refuses to sign the divorce papers. Rafe tells Everett to give Jada a chance to get him the hell out of her life. Rafe thinks it’s time Everett figures out what’s wrong with him and tells him to get the hell out of here. Everett then exits the police station. Jada comes back in and greets Rafe after overhearing.

Marlena and John put Jude down after feeding him. They talk about being glad that Eric and Sloan agreed to let them babysit. Marlena thinks it’s important that Eric and Sloan have time together to themselves. John agrees and notes that he kind of got the feeling that Eric was distracted, like he was worried about something. Marlena reveals that Eric confided in her that they are having some financial problems with a lot of expenses and Eric’s photography business not taking off yet. John suggests they could help them out a bit. Marlena doesn’t think they would accept that but says they could help by spreading the word about Eric’s photography, offering to babysit, and telling Eric they are proud of him. Jude wakes up crying again so John goes to check on him.

Konstantin put his ring on a chain and puts it around Maggie’s neck, adding that he’s honored that she is now wearing it. Maggie comments on how much the ring means to him and feels she owes it to him even though it doesn’t make up for his suffering because of Victor. Konstantin says it shouldn’t be her burden since she is not responsible for what Victor did. Maggie points out that Victor isn’t here to make amends, so she feels like she represents him. Maggie knows nothing could take away or lessen the pain of losing his daughter, but she can at least help him stay in the country. Konstantin tells Maggie that her company is what he enjoys most as she always livens his spirits. Maggie says he livens her spirits too and that’s why she’s not willing to say goodbye to him.

Stephanie and Chad talk about Thomas growing. Stephanie asks how it’s going at the Kiriakis Mansion. Chad jokes that it feels like grand central station like they are all on top of each other. Chad feels bad for Julie since she wanted to escape the chaos but got stuck in the snowstorm on Smith Island. They talk about the weather being crazy lately. Thomas returns with cookies for them. Chad mentions having plans to go to the playground but having to play endless hide and seek because of the weather. Thomas invites Stephanie to come to the Kiriakis Mansion and play with them. Stephanie says she would love to, so Thomas suggests tomorrow. Everett enters the Pub and sees them together as Stephanie tells Thomas that she thinks that might work.

Rafe apologizes to Jada if he overstepped and says he just sees what Everett is doing to Jada, so when he sees him, he goes a little crazy. Jada says she was actually going to thank him for defending her honor. Rafe tells her that he made it very clear that Everett is not welcome until he signs the divorce papers. Jada says she appreciates that but she’s been thinking that maybe she should chill out about the divorce papers and maybe he will come around if she stops pushing him. Jada adds that it’s not like she’s in a rush to get married again yet.

Konstantin tells Maggie that he was so thrown when she proposed to him since it’s usually the man that gets down on one knee. Maggie is not sure that’s the custom anymore as things have changed. Konstantin bets that Maggie and Victor had a big wedding but Maggie says it wasn’t big and it was very simple in the Kiriakis Mansion. Maggie says it was like her first wedding to Mickey. Maggie brings up that Konstantin never says much about his first marriage or wife. Konstantin says there isn’t much to say as they got married, they lost Catharina, and then got divorced and he never saw her again as she disappeared. Konstantin declares that part of his life is the last thing he wants to talk about.

Chad sees Everett and calls him over. Chad asks how it went at the police station. Thomas reminds Chad that he promised no work talk. Chad says he just has one follow up question and then they are done. Chad tells Thomas to start packing up. Thomas points out that they haven’t eaten their cookies yet. Chad decides they’re going to let Stephanie and Everett have the cookies while they will stop at the Bakery on the way home which Thomas agrees to. Chad asks Everett if he got what he needed. Everett says there was nothing super exciting but an unproductive run in with Rafe. Chad says they can’t get headline material every time. Chad asks Thomas if he’s ready to go. Stephanie hugs Thomas and says it was so good to see him. Thomas asks Stephanie if she’s coming over tomorrow. Stephanie says that she and Chad will check their schedules, so if it’s not tomorrow, it will be sometime really soon. Thomas says okay but he hopes it’s tomorrow. Chad and Thomas then exit the Pub together. Stephanie asks if Everett cares to share the cookies with her and says she could use the company, so he agrees. Stephanie asks how therapy with Marlena is going. Everett flashes back to telling Marlena that he didn’t want any more hypnosis because some things are better left unknown. Everett then claims to Stephanie that hypnosis is good and really helpful, so Marlena really wants him to continue with it. Stephanie asks if he will. Everett admits that he’s not sure. Stephanie asks if he’s talked to Marlena about why he doesn’t feel comfortable signing the divorce papers. Everett confirms that he has and Marlena has a theory that his subconscious is hiding feelings that he’s not ready to handle. Stephanie asks if that’s feelings for Jada. Everett says he’s certain that is not the case. Stephanie knows Jada is going through a lot, so she really wishes for both of their sakes, that he will sign the papers and set Jada and himself free.

Konstantin apologizes to Maggie if he upset her. Maggie says there are a lot of topics she prefers to avoid too, but she’s very comfortable talking about her career. Maggie announces she is returning with Titan. Konstantin calls that wonderful news. Maggie says she will be working with Alex and thinks they will get along very well. Maggie decides to go get lemon bars for them from the kitchen. Konstantin then begins searching the room for his card. Chad and Thomas come in. Chad greets Konstantin, who says he lost something very important to him. Konstantin says he could’ve sworn it was in his room but he’s afraid that it’s lost. Chad then asks if Thomas knows anything about that.

Rafe tells Jada that he didn’t think she wanted the divorce papers signed so she could get married again, but so she could get rid of Bobby Stein, the guy who hurt her so badly. Jada confirms that is true. Rafe understands it’s premature to be talking about marriage and he’s not trying to rush her in to anything. Rafe says he just wants her to be happy. Jada tells Rafe that he makes her happy and she’s very grateful for him. Rafe feels the same about her, but thinks they don’t get to spend enough time together. Jada points out that they work together and practically live together. Rafe says it’s still not enough because he loves spending time with her. Rafe thinks the only way they could spend more time is for them to live together, but he’s already asked her so he’s not going to ask her again. Jada thinks he should ask again, encouraging him to take risks.

Everett tells Stephanie that he understands why it would be so much easier if he signed the divorce papers and he wants to, but part of him is afraid, though he sees her point. Marlena and John then enter with Jude and greet them. Stephanie comments on them babysitting. Marlena says they took Jude for a stroll as it’s a nice night. John goes to get coffee and tea. Marlena asks how Stephanie is. Stephanie says she’s grateful that she’s helping Everett with his memory loss as they were just talking about her hypnosis and she hopes that he continues. Marlena and John then go to get a table. Stephanie tells Everett that she should get going, but Everett asks her to come back to the Salem Inn with him as he has something to show her. Stephanie mentions having a work call in 30 minutes. Everett promises it will be quick, so Stephanie agrees to go. Stephanie tells John and Marlena that it was good to see them as she exits with Everett.

Konstantin doesn’t understand why Chad would ask Thomas about the item he misplaced. Chad explains that they were playing hide and go seek and he found Thomas in Konstantin’s room. Chad apologizes and asks if Thomas moved or took anything from Konstantin’s room as now would be a good time to return it. Thomas insists that he didn’t. Chad tells Konstantin that he’s sorry that Thomas went in his room and gives him his word that it won’t happen again. Konstantin tells him that it’s no trouble. Chad remembers to go get Thomas’s backpack for a permission slip and tells Thomas to set up their card game. Chad exits and then Konstantin tells Thomas that they need to have a little chat about his card because he has a feeling that Thomas took it. Konstantin warns that Chad would be very angry with him if he lied, but if he returns the card to him right now and promises to never go in his room again, Chad will never know. Konstantin asks Thomas what it will be.

Marlena calls Eric and tells him that everything is going great with Jude. Marlena encourages Eric that he and Sloan should just relax and enjoy themselves. Jude wakes up crying, so John takes him out of the Pub to try and calm him down. John talks about how he can’t wait to take Jude to baseball games. Marlena comes out and sees that John got Jude calmed down. John thinks Jude returned the favor as holding him makes it hard to imagine there’s anything wrong in the world. John declares that he doesn’t want to waste any more time feeling guilty and tearing himself down, especially when he has so much to be grateful for.

Thomas returns Konstantin’s card to him and exits the living room. Konstantin declares that it is almost time to get what is rightfully his.

Jada tells Rafe that she might have turned down living together the first time, but maybe she sees things differently now which Rafe questions. Transcript provided by Suzanne

[ Knock on door ]

Adam: Sharon, come in. And thank you for getting here so quickly.

Sharon: How could I not? You said you needed help before you made things worse. I know you, adam. I know that tone in your voice. Is this about connor?

Adam: He’s supposed to be getting help from these people. We’re supposed to trust that they know what they’re talking about.

Sharon: Slow down. Just tell me what happened.

Adam: Sharon, I have never felt so helpless in my life.

Sharon: I understand that. Was there an update or a meeting?

Adam: Oh, yes. Yes, there was definitely an update, and it’s not good.

Summer: Ready or not, here I come! Harrison! Harrison? Harrison? Where are you? Harrison? Harrison, where are you?

[ Summer panting ]

Victor: Michael baldwin will be here shortly.

Kyle: He’s the one who arranged the payoff the first time?

Victor: Yes.

Jack: This time, I insist on upping the offer, adding to this offshore account that she’s supposedly getting.

Victor: Jack, that’s very kind of you, very considerate of you, but I’ve offered her an enormous amount of money.

Jack: I’m sure you did. I would like to add to it. Damn it, this is my grandson, too. I want to do something.

Victor: If it makes you happy, then I’m sure that she’ll be very glad to receive the additional money.

Kyle: Okay, I need to go check in on summer, bring her up to speed. Apparently, traci checked in on her earlier, and she fell asleep in harrison’s bed.

Victor: Please give my granddaughter a big, big hug.

Jack: From both of us.

Victor: And assure her we will not rest until we bring her child home.

Kyle: Will do. Um, dad, victor, thank you. For both of you to set aside your differences to help my son.

Jack: Anything for harrison.

Victor: Anything. For people who feel limited

Announcer: Additional sponsorship provided by… -you got this buddy.

-During an asthma attack,

Adam: Chelsea and i had a video call with connor’s psychiatrist today. She’s the main doctor in charge of connor’s growing team of specialists, and they filled us in on their latest cookie-cutter diagnosis.

Sharon: Well, it can be overwhelming to dive into the deep end of something like this. It’s a lot of information at once.

Adam: Oh, no, I can handle information. Okay, I can do a deep dive with the best of them, but this, it was just jargon. Just a bunch of jargon that was supposed to impress me, sharon.

Sharon: Well, I doubt that’s the case.

Adam: They were throwing around these terms and labels, and we’re talking about an actual child here, not just a collection of some disorders.

Sharon: That’s very true. And I’m sure that connor’s team sees him as the wonderful young man that he is.

Adam: I’m sure that they do.

Sharon: You know, it might help if you trust yourself a little bit more.

Adam: Sharon, I’m not the one that I’m worried about here, okay? According to connor’s cabal of doctors, there’s a whole new aspect to his illness.

Sharon: And what is that?

Adam: Trauma. And guess who’s responsible for it? Yep, you’re looking at him. According to these brilliant specialists, it’s most likely thanks to me that my son’s life has just been one traumatic event after another.

[ Summer sniffling ]

[ Phone ringing ]

Chance: Hey, sorry, I’ve been in and out of meetings the whole day. What’s going on? You okay?

Summer: I need your help.

Nikki: I just came by to see how you’re holding up.

Victoria: I’m– I’m– I’m fine.

Nikki: Oh, darling. Where’s cole?

Victoria: He’s gone to check in with the security team to see if there’s been any updates. I mean, of course, we both know if there were anything, we would have heard already, but, I don’t know, he’s got to stay busy. We both do.

Nikki: I– I wish he hadn’t left you alone. I mean, you could have walked down there with him. Get some air. Why don’t you and i go for a walk?

Victoria: Mom, I appreciate the offer. I really do, but I don’t want to leave, just in case. I’ve actually been rearranging the cupboards in the kitchen, thinking that maybe we would get a few new things, you know? Maybe some of the china that– that we lost in the fire.

[ Victoria sighing ] And, um, I’ve just been debating. I’ve also been going over the last few conversations that I had with claire, over and over again in my head.

Nikki: Yeah, I’ve been doing the same thing, but I haven’t come up with anything that might be helpful, have you?

Victoria: Several things, actually. She just kept talking about how happy she was that we were moving back in here, and she was so excited to meet her brother and sister, and how it was a dream to her that she was finally gonna find out what it was like to have a normal, happy family life. Mom, my heart won’t let me believe that claire would turn her back on that dream. Not for jordan. Not for anyone.

Jack: How’s nikki holding up?

Victor: Well, she went down to check on– on victoria.

Jack: I’m glad they have that relationship. That bond is priceless right now.

Victor: Yeah. You know, parenthetically, I’m very glad that the sponsoring business between you and nikki is moving rather smoothly. I thank you for that. Of course, it was interrupted by that fellow walking to her table and offering her a drink. I’m sure he was prompted by jordan to do so.

Jack: We still don’t know that jordan did that.

Victor: Jack, it was jordan. I promise you.

Jack: And she knew where we were and then orchestrated that disgusting trick.

Victor: You and I know that nikki could have fallen off the wagon.

Jack: Victor, nikki knows this one by heart. No matter what happens, it’s always one day at a time. And I know you and I aren’t too happy admitting it, but you and I have always had one thing in common.

Victor: What’s that?

Jack: Our love for our family. Our loyalty, our devotion to keeping them safe, whether it’s our wife, our children, or our grandchildren.

Victor: And you and I know we now have to get our grandson back. No matter what.

Jack: No matter what.

Michael: Jack, victor, I’m so sorry to be a– a few minutes later than I expected.

Victor: It’s all right, michael. The offer that I made to jordan, does all that still stand?

Michael: It’s all in place. The, uh, offshore account, the new identity complete with a new passport, and social security number, the deed to the house in france. But we never meant for jordan to walk free, obviously, but the documentation had to be legit for her to fall for it the last time.

Jack: That’s smart. It’s brilliant. Thank you for everything you have done. Hopefully, it works this time.

Michael: Unfortunately, this time, there’s a difference.

Jack: How so?

Michael: We don’t have a trap ready to spring on her.

Victor: We’ll set one.

[]

Sharon: Adam, just slow down, and tell me exactly what the doctor said, because I don’t believe for a moment that they’re laying the blame on you.

Adam: Why? Why? Because highly skilled professionals aren’t capable of saying and doing anything wrong? I mean, they sure as hell made me feel like they were laying the blame on me.

Sharon: Well, did they make you feel that way, or are you making yourself feel that way?

Adam: They said that they’re still getting to the root of it, but there is evidence to suggest that connor’s ocd and his– his trauma are going on simultaneously. According to them, some traumatic event might have, I don’t know, pushed his ocd front and center. And you know as well as I do, connor has had plenty of trauma in his life through no fault of his own.

Sharon: It’s true. Connor has had a lot to deal within his short life. And I know all too well what it’s like when your own mistakes end up ricocheting onto your children. But adam, don’t take this all on yourself. That’s not gonna do you any good. It’s certainly not going to do connor any good. And you know what I’ll bet you? That he doesn’t blame you for a moment of it.

Adam: Well– well actually, you’re right, he– he doesn’T.

Sharon: See, there you go.

Adam: Sharon, according to his specialist, he’s at the point where he’s decided that all of the problems in our family are his fault.

Sharon: Oh, no.

Adam: Sharon, my– my son, my– my sweet, innocent, amazing kid. He’s at the point where he’s questioning if he ever should have been born.

Victor: I have two priorities, jack. One is to bring my great-grandson home safely and the other one is to put that bitch into a place from whence she cannot endanger either one of our families.

Jack: I’m with you 100%. Let’s just make sure this time, we lock her up securely.

Victor: What do you mean securely?

Jack: Well, I’m suggesting when we nail her this time, we learn from past mistakes at trapping her.

Victor: Do you have an example?

Jack: Victor, come on. If we hadn’t left her in her own trap, instead of putting her in a jail cell where she belonged, she wouldn’t have had the opportunity to poison herself and run out of that hospital.

Victor: If it hadn’t been for the inept security at your home, she would not have been able to kidnap the boy.

Jack: Are you really suggesting I didn’t take enough precautions to protect you from this psychopath?

Victor: You’re damn right.

Michael: Gentlemen, gentlemen. I– I think we’re dealing with enough without having to add this conversation to the mix. I mean, we’re all keyed up here. And why? Because an innocent child’s life is at stake, and we’re worried sick about him. But we’re also all on the same team. Harrison’S. I think that’s something we should remember.

Summer: Kyle, where have you been?

Kyle: Victor and my dad, at the ranch.

Summer: Please tell me that you have some news.

Kyle: I do. I got the demands from jordan.

Summer: You mean the demands from claire.

Kyle: We don’t know that for sure yet.

Summer: My god, kyle, the communications are coming from her phone. She was the last person with harrison.

Kyle: Okay, let’s just not do this right now, okay? Victor filled dad and me in on how he caught jordan the last time around. We’re going to use that same blueprint again.

Summer: Okay, how did he do it?

Kyle: Victor offered her millions in an offshore bank account. And a new identity, complete with passport, birth certificate, all the necessary documents. Safe passage out of the U.S. And a deed to a house in france with her new name. She will be free to live out the rest of her days.

Summer: Oh, my god. No wonder she was tempted. What do jordan and claire want now?

Kyle: Well, she wants him, wants us, to make good on that promise this time. No tricks, no traps. And once she’s safely tucked away in europe, she’ll reveal the location of harrison.

Summer: No. No, absolutely not. We are not doing that. Once she’s safely tucked away in europe? How long is that going to take? Days? Weeks? While our son is god knows where wondering if we’re ever gonna save him? If they even bother to tell us the truth at all once they’re gone.

Kyle: Summer, summer, summer, we will figure it out as we go along, okay? You have to admit, this is a start.

Summer: Give me the phone number.

Kyle: What?

Summer: Give me claire’s phone number.

Kyle: Why? What do you want her phone number for?

Summer: I’m gonna offer myself in exchange for harrison. He will come home. I will be their hostage until all the demands are met.

[Coughing]

Adam: I have no idea how to process this, sharon. Connor should be excited about his new video game. You know, playing soccer. Or going to the movies with his friends. He’s a smart, kind, caring kid.

Sharon: Yes, he is. He always has been.

Adam: Yeah, in spite of him never really ever getting a break. You know, it’s not fair. His life has just been way too unpredictable. It’s been way harder than he’s deserved. To the point where he’s questioning why he was even born. It’s too much, sharon. It’s like when I think about this stuff, I can’t breathe. There’s like this– this weight on my chest and it just– it gets heavier and it gets heavier and…

Sharon: Okay, listen to me, adam. That is not connor questioning that, okay? It’s his ocd. It is a demon hiding somewhere in his mind. It’s filling it with ideas like that. Ideas that connor would never have on his own. You have to believe that.

Adam: I do believe that. Because I know exactly what that feels like. I mean, this whole ordeal. This is the demon in my mind, sharon.

Kyle: Summer. I’m not surprised you’d risk your life for our son. But I can’t let you do–

Summer: No, kyle. There’s no buts about this. I’m doing it. I don’t care what happens to me. I just want to bring our son home.

Kyle: Summer, I know. I do. But it’s not going to work.

Summer: How do you know that? Claire hates me. She might jump at the opportunity to trade me for harrison.

Kyle: I will tell you why it’s not going to work. Because I already tried.

Summer: What are you talking about?

Kyle: I sent a text asking to trade places with harrison. It was immediately rejected.

Summer: Why?

Kyle: I don’t know. All I got was a simple “not a chance” as a response.

Summer: You– you don’t think that…

Kyle: What?

Summer: Why– why would they care if it was harrison that they were holding on to? Unless they… they already–

Kyle: No, no, summer, do not go there. Do not let that thought into your mind for one second.

Victor: I don’t want to hear that bs. You keep searching. Is that clear? I don’t pay you to fail.

Jack: Still no luck tracing the cell phone, huh?

Victor: No, none.

Michael: The logical explanation is that jordan knows that a cell phone can’t be traced when it’s turned off. She’s obviously turning it on for a few minutes here and there when she needs to use it.

Jack: There’s got to be some other way to find out where she has taken harrison.

Michael: Jack, they could be absolutely anywhere.

Jack: Argh!

Michael: I’m sorry. Look, jack, I know it’s hard, but you’ve got to hang in there.

Jack: The thought of that poor little boy scared to death with that lunatic hovering over him. I swear to god if she hurts a hair on his head…

Victor: I promise you one thing. That bitch will pay.

Nikki: No matter what claire has or hasn’t done, we both know that jordan is behind all of this.

Victoria: Exactly, mom. She’s been tormenting my daughter from the moment she stole her from the hospital. Since the day she put cole and me through such hell. Thinking that we lost our baby.

Nikki: And she hasn’t changed her colors at all.

Victoria: You know, I think she might just hate claire the most, though. For seeing through her and for rejecting her. Mama, I think that claire might be in as much danger as harrison.

Nikki: I agree. And I need you to promise me something.

Victoria: What is that?

Nikki: That someday, you’ll find a way to forgive me. Even if I never forgive myself.

Victoria: Forgive you? What are you talking about?

Nikki: We stood there and watched jordan collapse after drinking that poison. If I hadn’t called for help, if I had just stayed out of it, she would’ve died and none of this would be happening.

Victoria: No, no, no, no. You can’t blame yourself for having human decency. You saved someone who’s done nothing but torture you.

Nikki: And I keep trying to tell myself that, but there is nothing decent or moral about any of this. How can I look at what’s happening and think that I did the right thing? I mean, even my idea of using our anniversary party to lure jordan out, I mean, that backfired miserably.

Victoria: I know, but mom, you can’t, because you can’t think that way. You don’t think that way. Thank god.

Nikki: Well, maybe it’s time that I learned.

Victoria: What are you saying?

Nikki: When you were a little girl, I taught you that if you make a mess, it’s your job to clean it up. So, the way I see it, this is my mess to clean up. I need to be the one to save harrison and claire and put an end to jordan’s reign of terror once and for all.

If you have wet amd,

Announcer: The young and the restless will continue. With spring black friday savings,

Summer: How am I supposed to shut out these feelings, kyle? How? Did any of the messages include a picture of harrison? A video? Anything? I mean, I need to know that he’s actually okay.

Kyle: There was nothing like that, no. But that doesn’t mean we can assume he’s hurt. Jordan might be avoiding sending a picture because she doesn’t want to give away a clue about his location. Or she might be rejecting a trade because she thinks it’s a trap.

Summer: It’s possible, right? It’s possible.

Kyle: Besides, harrison will be a lot easier to control than an adult. He won’t be looking for a chance to turn the tables on jordan like you or I would.

Summer: Or like claire would. If she actually gave a damn. If she cared about harrison like she said she did, if she was innocent in all of this, she would’ve found a way to get the drop on jordan or at least send us some sort of signal. Wouldn’t she have?

Kyle: Summer, I’m not saying claire is innocent.

Summer: No, you just keep on blaming it all on jordan.

Kyle: Okay, we can work out what claire did after we get our son back, okay?

Summer: Fine. What’s my grandpa’s plan? He’s got to have one.

Kyle: Victor and dad were waiting for michael baldwin when I left. Hopefully, they are working out a plan to bring harrison home safely and put jordan away for good. In fact, I should probably head back over there. See if they’re getting anywhere. And maybe if I can help.

Summer: I’m coming with you.

Kyle: Okay. Chance.

Chance: Hey. I came as fast as I could.

Summer: Go ahead. I’ll meet you there.

Chance: What’s going on?

Summer: I’m afraid I’m never gonna see my son again.

Chance: Whoa, whoa, whoa.

Adam: You know, this is happening to connor. It’s just– it doesn’t make sense. You know, none of it– none of it feels real. I keep trying to focus on him, but I can’t get past my own guilt. You know, it’s like I don’t need a team of specialists to make me feel responsible for what connor is going through. I know what I’ve done and what I didn’t do and I should’ve done.

Sharon: What do you mean by that?

Adam: Why didn’t I see it, sharon? From the beginning, you know? When his behavior first started to change. I mean, maybe if I didn’t chalk it up to just a phase or connor’s being quirky, I could have– I could’ve done something about it.

Sharon: Like what? What could you possibly have done?

Adam: I don’t know. But if I was paying the right kind of attention, I could’ve stopped it. But I wasn’t and I didn’T. I didn’T. And how am I ever supposed to forgive myself for that?

Sharon: By accepting the fact that connor has an illness that you knew nothing about and you still don’t understand. Accepting that you are human and fallible and that being a parent is a lesson in humility. We are always going to have moments where we feel like we failed and then we get over ourselves because we know that our children need us. So we have no choice but to keep going and do our best.

Michael: Kyle, any further contact from claire’s phone?

Kyle: Nothing. Still no pings?

Michael: No, it’s just a couple of very brief ones from cell towers that are miles away from each other. So, still no way to pin down a location. I’m telling you, that cell phone is turned off, definitely turned off, when jordan and claire aren’t using it.

Jack: Have you talked to summer?

Kyle: Yeah, at the house. She’s there with chance right now, but she’ll be here soon. She wants to help in any way she can.

Victor: How is she holding up?

Kyle: Exactly like you’d think. She’s a wreck. And it’s come out in anger. Mostly towards me, but if her getting angry at me is what helps her through this nightmare, I’ll take it.

Victor: You’re a good man, kyle.

Kyle: Thank you. Okay, what are our next steps?

Jack: We can’t just sit around waiting for texts and phone calls. We– we have to figure out where jordan has taken harrison.

Victor: And claire. Whatever that lunatic is up to, we have to stay one step ahead of whatever she’s planning. Hellmann’s real mayonnaise.

Sharon: I know you don’t like taking a backseat to anyone, especially when it comes to parenting your son, but I think you need to be realistic about your limitations here.

Adam: What limitations? About recognizing when my own son is in trouble?

Sharon: The limitations about understanding ocd. Even the experts don’t really know what it is. They’re still learning. There’s new research happening every day. What’s happened to connor is scary and it’s unfair, but you are no more responsible for that than anyone else is responsible for the fact that I once had cancer.

Adam: Do you really believe that, sharon?

Sharon: Yes, I do. And I think that instead of dwelling on what you did or didn’t do in the past, you should be giving yourself credit for the fact that right now, you’re doing the right thing. That facility is the right place for connor. Believe it and find a way to overcome your instincts to disbelieve anything the therapists say simply because you don’t like what it is they’re telling you.

Summer: So, as of now, the only people who know where harrison is are the two people who took him. Claire, fresh out of a mental institution, and jordan, who’s a serial killer.

Chance: Summer, I am so sorry. I had no idea. I– I haven’t heard anything from anyone, not even my friends on the force.

Summer: No, I know. My grandpa’s trying to keep it under wraps. We don’t want anything getting out. It seems like jordan has eyes and ears everywhere and we’re not taking any chances.

Chance: Well, the good thing is I think jordan is cautious in her own way. I don’t think anything’s gonna happen to harrison.

Summer: Do you really think that?

Chance: Yes, look, think about it. He’s the only bargaining power that she has. Without him, there’s no leverage. I guess– I guess maybe claire, but harrison likes claire, right? They’re buddies.

Summer: She made sure of that the moment she met him.

Chance: No, no, no, what I’m saying is that connection might get him through this until he’s back home in his own bed. Come here. We’re gonna get him back, okay? And tell me, what’s been done so far?

Summer: I don’t know. My– my grandpa and jack are trying to come up with a plan. I don’t know, chance. You know my grandpa. You know how he is sometimes. I’m– I’m scared that he and jack are gonna do something extreme and send jordan and claire into a panic or something and– oh, my god, I just can’t keep these what-ifs out of my head, and every single one I think of just frightens me more.

Jack: The funds are ready to be moved to the offshore account.

Kyle: Wow, that’s a fortune, dad.

Jack: It’s worth every penny if it saves your son.

Kyle: I know that I can’t thank you enough for putting this much on the line, but you have my word that someday, somehow, I will repay you.

Michael: Well hold off on the repayment plan, kyle. We’re not gonna just hand jordan what she wants and hope that she holds up her end of the bargain.

Victor: I think what we have to figure out is how to lure that woman to us, away from her captives.

Kyle: But how can we do that? She’ll see it’s a trap. It’s too risky.

Jack: Kyle, if we give her everything she wants, we lose our leverage. And she has nothing to lose by covering up her tracks before she disappears.

Victoria: Mom, I am not going to allow you to be the one to fix things with jordan, any more than dad would. Look, I know this is hard for both of us, but we just have to trust dad and the authorities to handle her.

Nikki: We both know full well that your father does not trust the authorities to handle her.

Victoria: Okay, well then, just trust dad.

Nikki: I– I don’t think you understand how personal this has become for me. I will never truly be free of jordan until I stop her myself. I have to do something. And I need your help.

Did you know…

Chance: I really do hope that jack and victor reconsider and decide to loop in the police ’cause victor’s been known to fly solo in the past, and more than once, it’s turned out more dangerous than it needed to be.

Summer: My grandpa has assured me that the police are gonna have a full report on all of this. Kyle is in denial about the fact that claire is involved. He can’t admit it because then, he will have to face the fact that it’s all his fault. It is!

Chance: I’ll tell you what I’m gonna do. I’m gonna call my buddies. I’m gonna see what I can find out about the investigation, okay?

Summer: Thank you. And, um, I need to get going to the ranch. Hey, actually, will you, um… would you come with me, maybe? Hear what grandpa and jack have planned and weigh in? Maybe you could stop them from doing something that could make this worse.

Chance: I’m gonna tell you right now, I don’t think victor is gonna be interested in my input.

Summer: I– I think that they’ll take all the help that they can get to bring my son home. And if I’m wrong about that, I will insist that they listen to you. I know that you’re not a cop anymore, but you still have the skills and the instincts.

Chance: All right. If you think it’ll help bring harrison home, all right. Let’s do this.

Summer: Thank you.

Chance: Come on.

Kyle: So, how? How do we lure jordan out of hiding and find out where she’s holding harrison at the same time?

Jack: There has to be some way to trace her movements after she abandoned the truck. She had to have had a car waiting.

Kyle: And someone must have seen jordan or claire with a little boy or something.

Michael: All right, we have a team checking security cameras in the area, but nothing yet.

Victor: I don’t think that jordan is doing this all by herself.

Jack: I’m not sure that ally isn’t claire. Look, I don’t know her, but for jordan to have had that kind of influence on her life as recently as last year?

Victor: Jack, with all due respect, I don’t think claire had a damn thing to do with this.

Michael: Either way, though, jordan must be working with other people.

Jack: Like nikki’s ex-sponsor, who agreed to work with her, and look what happened to that poor man.

Victor: What about the guy who sent nikki a drink at society?

Kyle: Okay, all right, I get it. I think it’s worth tracking down jordan’s accomplice.

Michael: Or accomplices.

Jack: And hopefully, they’re not too afraid of jordan to cooperate.

Victor: Trust me, they will cooperate. Everyone has a price.

Victoria: I’m not sure I like where this is going, mom.

Nikki: Darling, please just hear me out. Now, clearly, jordan hates me even more than she hates victor.

Victoria: Are you sure about that?

Nikki: She initially had claire approach me, not your father, to lure me to the lake house. Not him. I’m the one whose veins were flooded with alcohol. I’m the one that was sent the glass of vodka at society. Don’t you see? She doesn’t really want harrison. She wants me. I am her endgame.

Victoria: And everything that you just said makes my case as far as I’m concerned. We need to keep you as far away from jordan as we possibly can.

Nikki: Your father wouldn’t let me offer myself up as bait before. But this time, I’m not asking his permission. This time, I’m going to do it on my own.

Announcer: Next week on the young and the restless…

Danny: Is it okay if I ask you a question?

Traci: Of course. Yes, go ahead.

Danny: What is it you’re trying so hard not to talk about?

Ashley: You can make a girl happy with a shot of tequila. And don’t you forget that teeny-weeny slice of lime.

Jack: I imagine jordan is gonna reach out to kyle sometime soon. How do we string her along if she starts making demands?

Victor: She loves theatrics. And this time, I’m gonna pull down the damn curtain once and for all.

Nikki: Come on, jordan. I’m right where you want me.
