But, since talking with them at John and Marlena’s was a total bust, and more importantly, you wimped out on Valentine’s Day, didn’t propose to Teresa like she thought you would, We, uh We need to explore other options. All right, do not put that all on me. First of all, Brady practically laughed in your face when you even brought up the idea of rekindling things with him.

So that’s not my fault. Okay, okay. No, it wasn’t your fault. But, uh, Teresa moving out of your apartment and into Brady’s That most certainly is. And, um, you know, maybe, uh, so you didn’t have to marry her. I mean, but you could have just strung her along for a little while. She overreacted, Kristen. She got needy and desperate.

And I’m not getting the whole big push for marriage, you know. I mean, it’s the 21st century, for God’s sake. There’s no stigma anymore for people just being together, having a fine time, you know? I I I I tried to make her understand that. No, you didn’t try hard enough. Oh, my God. Instead, you sent her running right into Brady’s arms to sob her widow eyes out.

Oh, my God, and now she is sleeping in the bedroom right next to his. Tissue? Pee brain at Grass Pile Con or productive that is. Look, Cruella, I’m not one of your little puppy catchers, so if you want my help with this, you better not talk down to me. Oh, I won’t talk down to you if you get serious about achieving our mutual goals.

I’m not screwing up every five minutes. Okay, first of all, you’ve done your fair share of screwing things up. And second of all, achieving our goal isn’t going to be a cakewalk. Brady and Teresa are all wrapped up in Tate’s drama, and get this, the kid got arrested again. Sneaking out of the halfway house to go see Holly.

Oh, God. Yeah. Another united effort to keep that little punk out of trouble, and, uh, that’s going to only make them inseparable. Damn it, Alex. Alright, we have to up our game.

And I think I know just how to do that. Okay, she’s done. Did she fight it? Not at all. No, I knew she was a goner when she started rubbing her cheeks. She’s very predictable, that one. Can’t help but wonder what you’re gonna be like during her teenage years when she’s sneaking out of the house with boys. Oh, well, our daughter’s not going anywhere with boys until she’s at least 27.

And even then, I’ll be with her, so Right. Oh, it’s so good being home. I just feel like I’ve missed so much. I mean, I can’t believe our little angel can move. Toy from one hand to another now. Oh yeah, she’s obviously very coordinated. She definitely is. When did she learn how to collab? Oh, she did that spontaneously when I told her her doll was coming home.

I trust that slime ball as long as I can throw him. What happened in the past, partner? It happened because I lacked free will. Because Other people manipulated me into doing their bidding. Well, now I have free will and I’m exercising it. And if you care about me at all You’re gonna let me do what I need to do.

Constantine has been really helpful with all of that and when I was there he was really great with Thomas and Charlotte. He helped to make valentines for school and you know he was always telling them stories. I always had a laugh. I’m sorry Sarah but um, I still think he’s a con man. He’s taking advantage of your mom.

Yeah well we’re gonna have to agree to disagree on that.

From what I have seen and what my mom has said, he makes her really happy and so I’m grateful to the guy for that. And you’ve seen it too. You know that. You know that mom has been much calmer and happier since he came into her life. Yes, I suppose I have seen that. So maybe Constantine deserves a chance.

I need to go to Greece. I need to turn myself in. Let the authorities do a full investigation into the murder of your daughter and that Is my path to forgiveness.

John, I won’t stand beside you, whatever you decide. But can we just take it a day or two to think this through? I’m sorry, Doc, but this is the right thing to do and you know it. Could you imagine if, if we hadn’t gotten Victoria back, I mean, we’ve already lost a child.

If something ever happened to Victoria, I, I couldn’t survive that. I wouldn’t. I wouldn’t survive that.

John, please slow down, okay? Think about this. You’re not the same man you were then. Of course you’re not. You don’t even have a memory of that man or of what Victor did to him. The conditioning, the training. That’s right. Victor used you, John. He used you as a weapon. Steve is right, John. I love Victor very much.

And I hate to speak ill of him. But what he did to you, and what he demanded of Steve It was wrong. It was so wrong. But I believe in my heart that Victor didn’t know a young woman would get killed.

My precious Victor, he was also a different man then, just like you are, John. So please, don’t throw your life away, the one you built for yourself and your family, over a mistake. That, that was beyond your control.

It was time to cut your losses and move on. Really? And you just chose to do it with someone like Kristen DiMera? You do know, you do know that she is actually transported here from some other galaxy, right? Oh. You do know that. And, and that it wasn’t too long ago when she was parading on the moon. All over Salem wearing that kooky mask of hers trying to steal the identity of half the residents of Salem.

And need I even remind you, do I even need to remind you of the fact that she stole my unborn child out of my body and she impregnated herself with taint and gave birth to him. Nobody’s perfect. Do not make jokes. Do not do that. Especially when it comes to someone like a sadistic maniac like Kristen DiMera.

Do not do that. Do you know why the mothership hasn’t returned to take her back to her planet? Do you know why? Because they don’t want her. Oh. They don’t want her there. Because she’s not only a sadistic maniac, Alex, she’s also crazier than a loon. Well, maybe I like having a little crazy in my life. Hell, I was with you.

And you may not be a sadistic maniac, Teresa, but you are not a saint. And you’d be the first one to say it, that you have done plenty of things that you regret. There’s a difference. I regret doing those things. Kristen doesn’t have any regrets. She has no conscience, Alex. She’s too egocentric and arrogant to even ever believe that she does anything wrong.

You’re getting pretty worked up over this. I am worked up over this. I think it’s horrible. I’m horrified that you a woman like her. I mean, I am, I am, look, look at me. I am genuinely worried about you. Well, you might want to genuinely get over it. Because, see, you slammed the door in my face. Kristen opened the door.

We get along great. She’s fun, she’s sexy, she’s smart as hell. But I’m excited to see where things are headed.

You’re joking, right? No, I don’t think so. You would never seriously consider Alex to be a, a stepfather to Rachel. Why wouldn’t I, Brady? I mean, he’s got tremendous potential as a long term partner and as a step parent. And, you know, I have to, I have to consider this when I’m out there in the dating world.

When I meet a man, I have to ask myself, is he good enough for Rachel as well as for me? Yeah, after all, I mean, single parent is a package deal, Brady. No, no, no, I don’t, I don’t get it. Okay, why in the hell would you ever think Alex would have tremendous potential? His relationships last five minutes, and he has zero experience with children.

No experience with kids at all, Kristen. Hey, hey, hey. You know what? I wouldn’t say that. I wouldn’t say that. I mean, he, he had, he grew up with younger brothers, whom he adores, and he, he loved spending time with Tate. He, he did, when he was with Teresa. He likes kids, he told me so, Brady. Has he met our daughter?

Do you have him hanging around our daughter? Is that what you’re doing, already? Brady, Well, this relationship is brand new. I mean, we are still in the honeymoon stage. And as a cautious mother, I, um, I would not introduce Rachel to my boyfriend until I knew it was a serious relationship. But, uh, I, um, I’m starting to have genuine feelings for Alex.

So he and Rachel could meet any day now. Hey.

I know. Obviously it was traumatic when Victoria was kidnapped. Albeit, it was a mercifully short time that she was missing. And thank God we got her back. And now she’s not only Fine and healthy and happy. She’s absolutely perfect in every way and I say that without a hint of bias. I’m really glad we’re doing this parenting thing together.

And that Victoria has such a brave and devoted daddy who loves her so much. I’d die for her. And you. I know you would. Which is why I am so happy that I gave our relationship a second chance. My third. You’re sweet, it was like a fourth chance. Yeah, but he’s kind.

You have proven yourself to be a kind and caring person. To me. To my mom, to everyone who counts, we gave you a chance and you completely came through. You totally redeemed yourself and you showed everyone the wonderful person you are. So maybe Constantine deserves a chance to prove himself too. Uh huh. I understand the point you’re making and it is a very positive, very generous point.

I’ve, of course, yes, I believe that we should all hope that everyone can change, and that it’s very important to give everyone the benefit of the doubt whenever possible, but Sarah is different with Constantine. How?

You’ve been awfully quiet through all this.

I have been listening, learning more about you. And now I know for certain, after witnessing the love your wife and your friends have for you, that you are no longer the man who killed my daughter. All you have to do is call. That’s bull, and you know it. Every single time that I want to spend some time with her, it’s not good for you.

It’s not a good time for you. It’s such a coincidence that when it works for me, it doesn’t work for you. You were depriving me of my daughter, Kristen, because I know what you’re doing. You don’t want me to get close to her. You don’t want me to have a bond with her. Well, first Justin has to put together a rock solid defense that proves I was framed and all the evidence they have was planted against me. Rafe said that he found all the evidence a little too convenient. So I feel like we could probably get him on your side. Right, but we still have to give them evidence and like Rafe has never really cared for me.

I’m sure he’d jump at the chance to throw me in jail for any of my past crimes. And if we do go to trial, then any jury would convict me in a heartbeat once they bring up my history. So, no, I can’t count on the cops. It’s gonna have to be me who figures out who framed me. I’m gonna figure it out, Sarah.

For us. And for Victoria.

Maybe you’re right, Brady. Maybe I haven’t been open enough, uh, to you and Rachel spending more father daughter time together. So, you know what? Let’s set up a play date. How does that sound? Once I brought Rachel into the conversation, he suddenly got very concerned about us dating and you being part of our daughter’s life. I’m not sure how I should feel about that. Yeah. Hmm. Well, Theresa’s not really a fan of yours either. And, um, yeah, that little kiss between us definitely raised her hackles. There is no doubt about it. She is Mighty jealous. Well, good. That’s how it’s supposed to be. You keep making her jealous, and you keep making her want more and more of what she can’t have.

And Alex, this time, don’t look things up.

I’m so proud of you. For what you did, it took tremendous courage. I don’t know about that. I only know it was time for forgiveness. Constantine, why didn’t you tell me it was John? John is the pawn who, who took your daughter’s life. Well, I, I didn’t want to tell you because I, I, I did not want to involve you.

I know how much you care for, for John Black and his wife, and I was afraid that it would hurt you if I gave you this knowledge. Well, it was shocking to me, I admit. But I want to apologize on Victor’s behalf for your daughter’s death. It’s very hard for me to reconcile. What I know Victor was capable of with the man that I knew and loved in his later years.

That is all in the past. I have you to thank for this change in my heart. I am a better man because of you. I think forgiveness was in your heart all along. But I’m curious about something. And what is that? When you first came here, you presented yourself as Victor’s dear friend. And from what I gather now, you and he were bitter rivals.

So, how can you explain that? Huh? It took years, but eventually we did become very good friends, even partners in some enterprises. As I explained to John and the others, my actions led to his actions, which means we were both at fault. But we both grew older and wiser. Yes, my enemy did become my friend. And for that, I thank God for so many reasons.

The most important reason is that it led me to you. I am so glad that is over. Yeah.

Now you can finally move past this, right buddy?

I’ve just been thinking about this more, and I know that, that, that both of you want me to move past this, but To continue on with my life as if it never happened, as if

I never took the life of that young woman. I can’t do it. I just know that the only thing that can give me peace of mind, if that’s even possible, is accepting the truth of what I did and paying the price.

That, or covering the crazy prison break with the mysterious unknown accomplices. So you’re joking, right? You’re not seriously going to give oxygen to that bastard, are you? Well, I mean, it’s a pretty newsworthy story, no? Leo, the, the person who escaped prison, Clyde Weston, is also the person who brutally murdered my wife.

The love of my life. The mother of my children. Yeah? Now those children had to be taken out of school because all of their friends keep talking about the bad man who escaped. And now they’re scared out of their minds. That make sense? Chadwick, I That was so callous and insensitive. I am so sorry. I know this must be a very difficult day for you and your family.

Yeah, it’s more than difficult, Leo. You know, they, um My kids and I, we’re, we’re, we’re still grieving. We’re probably always going to grieve. But the, the image of finding my wife that way, in bed, is going to haunt me forever. So yeah, so the idea of this monster roaming free. Oh, did Victoria wake you? Oh, no, no, no. I was up anyway. Well, our little Victoria is, uh, not a happy camper this morning, and she’s letting all of us know it, aren’t you, darling? I remember when Katharina was our age, I tried everything in the world to get her to stop crying. Any suggestions? Well, walking around the room and singing to her might help, it usually does.

I know this is gonna sound really corny, but This feels really nice. Oh, clearing dishes? Yeah, clearing dishes. It’s just, it’s us doing the simplest tasks together.

You know, having breakfast in our own home and clearing dishes as a team. Yeah, only one thing can make it better, having our daughter home. Yeah, I’m missing her too. Let’s go get dressed. We’ll go to my mom, we’ll grab her, we’ll deal with this later. Yes!

Mmm, crispy bacon and eggs. You know, this is our first sit down breakfast as husband and wife. This go around, anyway. Yeah, well, this go around, my love, is forever. And beyond. I’m leaving. You know, I’m not actually feeling all that hungry. At least not for breakfast. Yeah, well, I don’t mind. Cold. Eggs and soggy bacon.

Well, that was a way to build up an appetite. The best way, maybe. You know, if we keep this going, we might be able to cancel our gym memberships. That would be an added benefit. Sure.

You know, I keep thinking about How lucky I am to have you as a husband. And you’re not only sexy and handsome, you’re also really just so kind. I keep thinking about how you were there with me in the hospital day and night while I was being there for Mama. Speaking of your mom, and look, I mean, what happened with her, that’s like off the charts.

Amazing, right? Yeah, it’s more than amazing. It’s more than luck. It’s a miracle. And Abe? Getting his memory back at the same time? So was that. I guess call it the power of love, I guess. Your mom. She never gave up on him. Yeah. Just like you and me, we never gave up on each other. I mean, yes, we went through our very dramatic breakup.

Mm-Hmm, , and then seeing other people and all of that, but well, speaking for myself, you are always in my heart and my dreams. Same here. I actually used to dream about you all the time. A lot of my dreams took place in, uh, Italy. After our first wedding, I would look over at you. I’d go, Ti adoro, amore mio.

And you’d look back, and you’d go, Anch’io ti amo. And then I’d wake up, and I’d really wish that it wasn’t a dream. Wow. It’s not a dream anymore. It is so very real. And perfect.

It’s amazing. Isn’t it? How fast a child can grow and change right before your eyes. Oh, yes. I watched my Katharina become an incredibly kind and loving soul. I often try to imagine. What she might have become today. A mother. A wife.

Sarah, darling. Good morning, mom. Constantine. We just got Victoria quieted down. She’s been quite fussy this morning. Sandra! You’re here! Oh my goodness. I am indeed. When did you get released? Oh my god. He’s actually back at the halfway house. Oh, thank God. All I could think about was him sitting alone in some jail cell again.

Well, he’s not alone, and he is not in jail. He’s in a very safe and supportive environment. And Holly, there’s, there’s more that you need to know. What more? Part of the agreement to allow Tate to go back to the halfway house is that he needs to wear an ankle monitor. An ankle monitor? No! And there’s a restraining order that says he can’t come within 100 feet of this property or you.

My God, I can’t believe this! Mom, he didn’t do anything wrong! I know, but honey, it’s for the best. How is it for the best? And why the hell can’t things just go back to normal again? I, I just want to see my friend. Hang out with him. This isn’t fair. I mean, if you only knew. If we only knew what? If If you only knew how sad this makes me.

Constantine has been very sweet and kind and gentle with her.

I mean, you’ll have you know that he raised a daughter himself, who died tragically when she was a young woman. Oh my God. Me and her? Yeah, well now you know. And it’s very painful for him to talk about her, obviously. But he opened up to me about that loss. And, and he’s, his tenderness towards Victoria is very touching.

Because of that loss, and he has a way with her, a wonderful way.

I’m texting Lonnie and letting her know that Mama’s going to be released today. She is going to be so thrilled. It’s still so hard to believe. I know it is. Hey, hey, we should throw Mama a welcome home bash. You know how she loves a party. Today? Are you sure we have enough time to pull that off? Well, we can, um, call the market that’s right by the apartment.

They have a really great party section. And then we can, can you call them and just see if they have like a welcome home banner and some streamers and balloons. And then I can call the bakery and order some pastries, of course, a few quiches. And then can you also get some groceries so that we can make sure that the fridge is stocked?

Just make a list and it’s done. Yes. Great. And then I’ll also order some flowers and see if they can be delivered with them. The stuff from Sweet Bits. Perfect. I will call Abe and see if he knows when they’re going to release her. Okay. Well, with the shortage of hospital beds, it could be soon. Um, do you want to invite anyone?

Hmm. Well, I’m here now. And Victoria is safe at my mom’s. It was just a dream. Yeah, but I know why I had that dream. It’s because the charges against me haven’t been dropped.
