Constantine went to see Maggie. Chloe went to see Brady to tell him she was leaving town. Philip told Belle that he was leaving town with Chloe. He said she and Shawn can visit him. She said Shawn cheated on her. Chloe told Brady that she was leaving town with Philip. Belle told Philip that Shawn cheated on her with Talia. Philip asked if she and Shawn were going to work things out. She said they weren’t going to work things out. She said she thought her marriage was over. Shawn asked Talia if she was there to see Jada. She said she was there to see him because Belle knew about them. She asked where things stood between them. He said he thought this might be Belle’s breaking point. Justin went to see Alex. Alex told him that he loved him and was grateful to him and his brothers. Justin was glad to hear it. He told Alex he loved him. Justin asked him about Maggie and taking her spot at Titan. Alex said he was Victor’s heir. Justin asked if he was going to take the mansion. Constantine told Maggie that Victor loved and cherished her. She said she appreciated him telling her that. She wanted to know why he was there. Talia apologized to Shawn for what he was going through. She thought that time would help it. She said she hated the fact that she was the reason why his marriage was over. He said his marriage was over before their affair. Belle told Philip that Shawn’s affair was her karma. She said people would say she got what she deserved. Philip said she didn’t deserve what happened to her. He told her to try and save her marriage. He said they have been through too much together. She agreed to try and save her marriage. Brady asked if Chloe was giving Philip another chance. She said they were going to New York together and they might get back together. She said Philip still loved her and she had unresolved feelings for him. He said he wanted her to be happy. He let her know that she was his first love and he would never get over her. Constantine gave Maggie a photo album with pictures of Victor in it.

Alex told Justin that he was making it seem as if he kicked Maggie to the curb. He said he offered Maggie a job. He said he was Victor’s heir. He said he would never do anything to hurt Maggie. He said he wouldn’t kick Maggie out since the mansion is half hers. He asked Justin if he believed him. He said he did. Alex said he wasn’t going to change. He was just trying to come to terms with it. Kate was upset with Philip for getting involved with Chloe. Brady told Chloe that he understood why their relationship didn’t work. He said Kristen and Rachel did everything to break them up. Chloe said she didn’t regret being with him. She told him she was grateful for their relationship. She said he would always be in her heart. Talia told Shawn that they both made bad decisions that night. She said he was a great guy. She said everyone knew it except for him. Belle showed up while Shawn and Talia were talking. Belle told Talia that she needed to talk to Shawn. Shawn said Talia came to apologize. Belle said she wanted to talk about their marriage. She said she was hurt by what he did. She said she wanted to put what happened behind them and save their marriage. Brady told Chloe that he wanted her to have the best life. He thought Philip must be on the right track if she was willing to forgive him. Kate reminded Philip of the things Chloe has done to him. She thought Chloe would bring him down again. He said Chloe wasn’t the reason why he did what he did. He said he wasn’t running off with Chloe. He said it was two friends with a history going away together. Kate told him to call off the trip before it was too late. Justin asked Alex if he was moving back to the mansion. Alex said he would think about it. Justin said he was proud of him for not letting the money get to his head. Alex asked if Justin would let him know if he ever let the money get to his head. Kate tried to convince Philip that Chloe was rebounding with him to get over Xander. Philip said Chloe wasn’t rebounding with him. Kate said she was worried about him because of everything he has gone through. He said he could have ended up in prison or Bayview if it weren’t for her and Victor. She said they did what they did because they loved him. He said he loved her too. Shawn told Belle he was surprised by her reaction. She said if they put in the time they could get through this. She said they need to get through this. He said he was glad that she wanted to work on their marriage, but he wasn’t going to be there. He said he was going to an outpatient rehab near Bo’s rehab. He said he would be near Ciara. She said she would put in a leave of absence. He said he wasn’t going to be gone for a little while. He said he needed to do it without her. He said he was going to be focused on their marriage instead of himself. She asked if he couldn’t fix himself with her there. He said he couldn’t focus if she was there. He said he needed time away to work on his problems if they were going to work on their marriage. He said he hoped she understood. She said she didn’t like it but she got it. She said she didn’t know how he could lean on his mother and sister and not her.

Eric and Sloan are at home as Sloan finishes a call with Melinda. Sloan tells Eric what Melinda told her about their plans for private adoption and that Melinda can speed up the process once they get their marriage license, which is in the works. Eric jokes that before they know it, they’re going to be an old married couple with a kid as they kiss. Eric says he’s going to run down to the Pub for coffee but Xander shows up at their door. Eric questions what the hell he’s doing there.

Kate goes to the Kiriakis Mansion and greets Rex, who questions what the hell she was thinking by going behind his back to tell Sarah that she needs to set him free. Rex then informs Kate that Sarah took her advice and asked him for a divorce. Kate calls that the best news she’s had in ages.

Sarah sits in the town square, on the phone with Maggie. Sarah thanks Maggie for getting her daughter to sleep after she was up half the night with her. Sarah hangs up and then is shocked to see Susan Banks is alive.

Ava sits at home at Tripp’s apartment when she receives a call from Harris, who asks how her first night out of Bayview was. Ava says she had clean sheets, a knife that actually cuts, and time with her son so it’s Heaven. Ava mentions being glad to hear that Harris found a place above the Pub. Harris says now he just has to find a way to pay rent since there’s not a lot of help wanted from a washed up Navy SEAL, who’s most recent job was as a mercenary/hitman. Ava tells him not to say that about himself, pointing out that he saved her and Tripp’s lives and helped bring Susan home, so she would call him a hero. Tripp comes out from his room and hears Ava on the phone.

EJ joins Susan in the town square. Sarah tells him that this is incredible and asks if it’s really her. Sarah apologizes as she thought she was hallucinating but Susan really is alive. Sarah asks what happened and when she got back. Susan says it’s been all over the news and asks where she has been. Sarah responds that she has a newborn and has been so sleep deprived. Susan calls it wonderful that she has a baby. Sarah repeats that Susan is alive. Susan thanks God and a few very caring humans. Sarah decides she needs to sit down. EJ asks if she’s alright. Sarah sits down and realizes that she’s been so angry at Xander, blaming him for Susan’s death. Susan says now she doesn’t have to be angry anymore.

Eric asks Xander again what the hell he’s doing here. Xander informs him that he has a meeting with his lawyer. Eric argues that Sloan isn’t his lawyer because she would’ve told him, but Sloan reveals that she actually is. Eric questions what Xander did this time. Xander says he happens to be the injured party. Sloan reminds Eric that he was going to get coffee. Eric argues that Sloan should’ve told him which she admits. Eric agrees to leave them to their meeting. Sloan says she’ll see him soon as Eric then exits. Xander comments on Eric being ticked off. Sloan tells him to stop talking about Eric and to tell her why he thinks she can help him win full custody of his daughter.

Rex tells Kate that it’s not the bad news because he doesn’t want to divorce Sarah or turn his back on Victoria, who he calls his daughter. Rex doesn’t appreciate Kate going behind his back to tell Sarah that she’s leading him on and ruining his life. Rex adds that it was his idea to step up and be a father to Victoria. Kate argues that was to keep Xander from finding out the truth, but now he knows. Rex argues that it doesn’t make a difference but Kate says it does. Kate asks if he just thinks Xander is going to step aside and let Rex be the father to his baby. Rex insists that it’s not Xander’s call. Kate argues that Sarah has it hot for Xander and she thinks Rex deserves better. Rex says that’s enough. Kate tells him that she doesn’t like saying these things but the longer the charade goes on, the worse and more painful it will be in the end for him. Kate says she cares about Rex and tells him to take the out that Sarah is giving him by agreeing to the divorce and letting her go.

Harris tells Ava that’s nice of her to say, but he doesn’t think most people would agree. Ava states that he’s a hero to her. Ava then tells him that Tripp is there so she has to go. Harris says he’ll see her around as they hang up. Ava hugs Tripp and wants to make him breakfast to thank him for everything he did for her. Tripp says she’s his mom and she doesn’t have to thank him. Ava points out that if it wasn’t for Tripp and Wendy helping her and Harris get out of the country, she’d be dead now. Ava adds that she’d like to make breakfast for Wendy too but Tripp notes that Wendy already left for a job interview. Tripp praises Wendy, so Ava asks how serious things are between them. Tripp confirms they are very serious and that he’s in love with her. Ava says she’s so happy for him. Tripp then asks how serious it is between Ava and Harris.

Eric goes to the Pub to get his coffee and Harris greets him at the counter. Harris is sure that Eric is heard nothing good about him. Eric asks how Harris knows who he is. Harris explains that Roman just rented him his old room upstairs and gives Eric some pictures he found left in a desk drawer.

EJ tells Susan that it’s great that she’s alive, but that doesn’t change the fact that Xander kidnapped her and she lost a year of her life as a result. Sarah declares that Xander is not a murderer. EJ says not this time. Susan tells EJ to soften his judgment. Sarah says she’s so thrilled that Susan is alive and that she needs to get back to her baby. Sarah adds that she will tell Maggie the good news and walks away. Susan comments that Sarah certainly seemed hit hard by finding out that Xander didn’t kill her.

Sloan brings up that Xander said he wanted parental rights, but now full custody. Sloan reminds Xander that she knows what he has done and Sarah is a doctor. Xander argues that his big sin was killing Susan Banks but she’s alive and well so Sarah can’t call him a murderer. Sloan says that might help with parental rights, but he still kidnapped Susan. Sloan talks about how extreme it would be to take the baby from Sarah now. Xander calls Sarah an unfit mother for lying to him about not being Victoria’s father and putting another man’s name on the birth certificate. Xander adds that Sarah did the exact same thing to Eric and remarks that only a monster would keep a man from their own baby.

Ava tells Tripp that there is nothing between her and Harris but friendship. Tripp mentions hearing her call him her hero. Ava repeats that he is a hero for saving their lives. Ava adds that she knows Tripp doesn’t like Harris. Tripp says they’ve come a long way and acknowledges that he is grateful for everything Harris did. Tripp talks about Ava and Harris meeting in Bayview and everything they went through together. Ava states that they bonded. Tripp asks if she’s sure it wasn’t more than that.

Harris tells Eric that parts of his life have been a blur, but he’s been in treatment with Marlena, who swears that he’s no longer a threat or menace to society. Eric notes that Marlena is usually right about things. Harris tells him that he actually grew up in Salem and he knows people might find it strange that he’s sticking around after everything that went down, but it’s the only place he ever called home. Harris declares that now he’s looking to find out who he is and who he wants to be.

Sloan tells Xander that Eric mentioned something about that but it was vague, so she asks how exactly Sarah kept Eric from her baby. Xander explains that she did the exact same thing and told him another guy was the father. Xander adds that knowing how much Eric wants to be a father, she can imagine what that did to him. Xander says his point is, Sarah has a history of lying to keep men away from their own children. Sloan questions thinking that makes her an unfit mother, but admits it gives them a good play in court especially if they have a male judge. Xander doesn’t want to leave anything to chance and wants Sloan to go for the jugular, declaring that he hates Sarah’s guts.

Rex tells Kate that it’s not a question of him letting Sarah go. Kate points out that Sarah married Rex to fool Xander while Rex married Sarah out of love, so she no longer has any use for him. Kate worries that Rex will spend the rest of his life pining after Sarah. Rex stops her and says she’s not helping. Sarah stands in the doorway as Kate tells Rex to accept the fact that Sarah is never going to feel for him what he feels for her. Kate then turns around and sees Sarah, noting that they were just talking about her. Kate mentions that Sarah told her that she wants a divorce. Kate calls that sad because she knows exactly how hard she tried to save the marriage. Sarah agrees that it is sad. Kate calls it an inconvenient marriage. Rex asks Kate to leave so they can talk. Kate tells Sarah to leave Rex the hell alone as she then exits. Rex tells Sarah that he’s sorry about that but Sarah admits that Kate has a point that she asked so much from him and gave nothing back. Rex argues that they’ve been over this so many times. Sarah then informs Rex that she saw Susan Banks in the town square and it seems like she’s the last person in Salem to know that Susan is back and not dead. Rex mentions seeing the news and he was going to tell her. Rex asks what her reaction was. Sarah brings up that it gives Xander more of a leg to stand on in court. Rex asks if that changes Sarah’s mind about the divorce. Sarah says no and that she thinks Kate is right that it’s time for all of them to move on.

EJ and Susan sit together in the town square. Susan talks about seeing Sarah’s eyes light up when she realized that Xander was innocent. EJ argues that Xander is not innocent and that Susan was one of his victims. Susan urges EJ to lighten up and reminds him that they agreed that he would leave Ava and Xander alone. EJ argues that Ava and Xander are dangerous people who have done terrible things. Susan points out that EJ has too and brings up that Xander felt bad about kidnapping her which EJ mocks. Susan gets suspicious about what EJ is thinking and tells him to swear on her life that he will never harm a hair on their heads. EJ responds that he wouldn’t dream of it.

Eric tells Harris that he’s not the only one trying to figure things out. Harris says it was nice of Roman to give him the room but he does need a job. Eric mentions hearing Roman was looking for help at the Pub. Harris points out that Roman already hired Tate. Kate arrives and greets them. Kate brings up Vivian being arrested and shooting Dimitri. Kate then suggests Harris should go apply for a job at the police station. Harris questions doing that when he was just in a mental institution. Kate points out that they are looking for serious help and offers to give him a serious recommendation. Harris adds that he also just left the country on forged documents while Kate brings up that Harris saved Susan Banks, so he actually gets things done. Harris acknowledges that he and Ava did have some help from Susan.

Susan tells EJ that he better be telling her the truth, because she won’t be there to keep an eye on him which EJ questions. Susan then informs EJ that she’s going home to Memphis.

Rex tells Sarah that if she’s sure about the divorce, he’ll just go back to Chicago and she can send the divorce papers there. Sarah tells him that she’s really sorry. Rex says she has nothing to be sorry about as it was all his idea and he doesn’t want to drag it out. Rex hopes that Sarah won’t get taken in by Xander again.

Xander asks Sloan if she thinks he could win full custody. Sloan admits it will be an uphill battle since Sarah is the child’s mother and doesn’t have a criminal record. Sloan asks if Xander can’t see co-parenting. Xander says not after what Sarah did and if she stays married to Rex. Xander questions what kind of woman can lie to a man she says she cares about and remarks that as far as he’s concerned, a woman like that doesn’t deserve a second chance. Xander then walks out of the apartment.

Tripp asks Ava if she has any big plans for the day while he’s at work. Ava talks about it being the first time she’s had a day to herself in so long. Ava tells him to stop worrying about Harris and how he’s determined to leave his past behind and be a different person. Tripp points out that Ava did become pretty dependent on Harris in Bayview. Ava responds that after the last few months, she’d like to believe she’s finally a different person too.

Eric tells Harris that if there’s anything he can do for him, he can let him know. Harris thanks him and says it was nice to meet him as Eric then exits. Kate insists that Harris should go to the police station and offers to put a good word in for him with Jada, who Kate calls the only competent detective on the force. Harris agrees to think about it and thanks Kate as he then exits the Pub.

Rex asks Sarah if this is goodbye. Sarah says it’s not forever. Sarah hugs Rex as she cries. Rex says he will go pack and say goodbye to Victoria. Sarah thanks Rex for being the best friend in the world. Rex tells Sarah to be happy as he then exits.

EJ complains that Susan can’t leave when he just got her back. Susan reminds him that she has a husband waiting for her in Memphis. Susan jokes that EJ is just as jealous as Edmund was. EJ argues that he’s not about to kidnap her and chain her to the wall. Susan points out that Edmund didn’t do the kidnapping himself. EJ questions who handed her to Edmund.

Xander goes to the Kiriakis Mansion and tells Sarah that he wants to see his daughter. Sarah informs him that Rex is upstairs with her now and asks Xander to have the decency to let him say goodbye which Xander questions. Sarah explains that she asked Rex for a divorce and he agreed, so he’s going back to Chicago. Xander asks why. Sarah responds that it’s because of Xander.

Tripp tells Ava that he’s off to work and to let him know if she needs anything. Ava asks what he wants for dinner. Tripp says to surprise him. Harris then shows up at the door. Ava says they were just talking about him. Tripp tells Harris how grateful he is to him for saving their lives. Tripp then tells Harris that Ava has been through Hell more than once, so she doesn’t need to be dealing with anyone else’s baggage. Ava reminds Tripp that he has to get to work, so he exits. Ava tells Harris that she’s sorry about that. Harris gets that her son is being protective. Ava acknowledges that Tripp knows she’s been known to get obsessive about a guy and then get real stupid. Harris jokes that they might have that in common since he got obsessed with Hope and didn’t tell her that her husband was alive, then by the time he had a change of heart, it was too late. Ava guesses they both know what it’s like to want something so much that they’ll do anything to hold onto it. Harris takes Ava’s hand and they kiss.

Marlena meets Kate at the Pub and tells her that Harris texted her to let her know that he’s happy at the Pub and that everyone has been welcoming and kind. Kate is glad that Harris is feeling comfortable and mentions that Marlena just missed him as he just left. Marlena says she wasn’t looking for Harris and wanted to talk to Kate, to see how she’s doing with Philip leaving town for New York. Kate admits to feeling dread because he’s leaving with Chloe, but she is accepting that it’s his decision and there is nothing she can do about it. Rex arrives with his bag packed. Kate questions if he’s leaving town. Rex confirms he’s going back to Chicago. Kate asks why and argues that just because he’s leaving Sarah doesn’t mean he has to leave Salem. Kate complains that this is hard on her because Philip is leaving for New York with Chloe. Kate says now Rex is coming here to break her heart. Rex tells Kate that he loves her and he knows leaving is making her upset, but she can smile because he and Sarah are getting a divorce like she wanted.

Eric returns home to Sloan and says he knows that he needs to respect her professional judgment, but Xander pushes all his buttons. Sloan says she gets that but notes that Xander told her something that she didn’t know; that Sarah kept Eric from his child. Eric admits that’s not a part of his life that he likes to revisit. Sloan points out that Eric and Sarah get along now and are friends. Eric understands why Sarah did what she did, but the pain of what happened was all because of the result of a lie. Eric admits it’s not easy to forget the pain she caused him and everyone. Sloan looks worried as Eric hugs her.

Xander questions Sarah asking Rex for a divorce because of him. Sarah explains that she realized Xander was going to make her life a living hell as long as Rex was with her. Xander admits he wasn’t expecting this. Sarah tells him that she wasn’t expecting to come face to face with Susan Banks, alive. Sarah says it must be such a huge weight off Xander’s shoulders to know he’s not a killer after all. Xander admits he’s so glad she made it as he spent so many sleepless nights racked with guilt over what happened to her. Xander acknowledges that Sarah thinks he’s a horrible person but Sarah says she never thought that. Sarah says it was just everything that she thought happened that made her scared to let him back in to her life, but now here he is.

EJ tells Susan that he sat at that cliffside all night long after the crash and he doesn’t remember seeing anything or anyone. Susan calls that a shame since it doesn’t help solve the mystery of who dragged her to the home of Edmund Crumb. Susan talks about EJ thinking she was gone all those months and she doesn’t want him to drive himself crazy anymore. EJ complains that someone forced her in to captivity and he wants to know who it was and why they would put her through that.

Brooke is shocked to learn that Deacon and Sheila are together. Hope and Brooke notice that Ridge isn’t surprised, so they’re a bit miffed at him for keeping it a secret. He explains that he thought it was over and that he and Bill promised Deacon they wouldn’t say anything to anyone, since he helped them put Sheila in jail. Hope is still annoyed at Ridge, and also, very disappointed in Deacon. She asks Brooke to talk to him. Brooke and Ridge leave to go face Deacon and Sheila.

Hope is distracted while talking to Thomas about their designs. He tells her that he’s missed her (where’s she been?). Finn’s words about how she can do better than Thomas ring in her ears.  He gives her the usual support, so they make out.

Deacon and Sheila make out, but he’s still upset about Hope’s reaction and worried that he’s lost her. Sheila goes to take a bath and invites him to join her there. Brooke and Ridge arrive to harangue Deacon. Sheila walks out in a bathrobe, with a towel on her head. Brooke calls her a monster, just like Hope did. She predicts that Sheila will take everything away from Deacon. She urges him to tell Sheila to take a hike. Deacon protests that Sheila has changed, but they don’t believe it.

RJ and Luna kiss. RJ texts Finn to come there, so he does. Finn is shocked to learn that Luna, whom he hasn’t seen since she was a child, is working there and all grown. RJ asks him to talk to Li about her attitude concerning Luna working there, so Finn agrees to talk to her. Luna is grateful that RJ did this for her. Later, Li also arrives (RJ texted her as well). RJ tells her that Luna is a valued employee, so she’s not going anywhere. Li tells him that it’s none of his business, and she declares again that Luna is leaving.

Primetime TV Review: Frasier

“Frasier” Review on by Eva 10/13/2023

Fraiser was always one of my favorite television characters since he first appeared on Cheers. I still watch reruns of the original show and, even though I know what is going to happen, it will always make me laugh. I was happy to know that Paramount+ was bringing back the show. This time Frasier returns to Boston to guest lecture at Harvard and to visit his son Freddie (Jack Cutmore-Scott) because he didn’t go to his grandpa Martin’s funeral. Freddie dropped out of Harvard because he wanted to become a fireman. Fraiser decides to move back to Boston to get to know Freddie better and he buys the building where Freddie lives and tells his son that if he lives with him he doesn’t have to pay rent.

The show is very funny and made me laugh right away. My favorite of the new characters on this show is Fraser’s best friend and fellow professor Alan Cornwall (Nicholas Lyndhurst) who is very funny and the chemistry between him and Fraser is wonderful. The entire cast is very funny and the show is well written.

If you enjoyed the original Frasier you will enjoy this show. Paramount+ posted the first two episodes of the show on October 12, 2023 and new episodes will be posted on Thursdays.

I give this show 5 out of 5 stars.

Chloe: Now, the fabric was supposed to be at the warehouse yesterday, not that anyone keeps their word anymore, but they promised me. And I’m old school. A promise still means something. Yeah, okay, well, if they want to continue working with us, they better get their act together. Yes, and mean what they say. Old school. Okay, thanks. We’ll talk later. Bye. Okay, out with it.

[ Sally sighs ] What’s up?

Sally: Hi, chloe, um, nothing’s up. I’m good. I’m fine.

Chloe: You wanna try again?

Sally: What?

Chloe: Well, you don’t look fine.

Sally: Thanks.

Chloe: Would you rather I lied?

Sally: Maybe.

Chloe: Frankly, you look terrible. Like maybe you lost a best friend.

Sally: It’s honest and ironic.

Chloe: Okay, well, you didn’t lose me. You wanna tell me what’s happening?

Sally: Look, you really don’t want to hear my problems.

Chloe: Of course, I do. What happened?

Sally: I think I did lose my best friend. Just not sure which one.

Adam: Hey, nick.

[ Adam sighs, clears throat ] Have you, um, heard anything about dad?

Nick: I know he’s back from his trip.

Adam: I know, um, that’s not what I was talking about.

Nick: Then what are you talking about?

Adam: I’m– I’m– I’m– I’m worried about him.

Nick: Worried about him, why?

Adam: He called me nicholas at the office, and then, when i asked him about it, thinking he was joking, he had no idea that he even said it.

Nick: I guess, I’m just not seeing the severity.

Adam: He thought I was you.

Nick: Well, maybe, that’s wishful thinking.

Adam: Okay, nick, our father could be in trouble, okay? This is how things start.

Nick: What things?

Adam: Mental issues. Memory loss, confusion, mentally in trouble. Sorry, I thought you might care about things like that.

Nick: Wanna know what I care about? Not hearing one more word from you. I don’t want to hear about you or our father or anything else you have to say.

Adam: Okay, well, you are obviously pissed off. I mean, where is this coming from?

Nick: I don’t want to have a brotherly conversation with you. You have managed to screw up pretty much every aspect of my life and I’m done.

Nikki: So, you called adam by nicholas’s name and you say you did it on purpose. Why would you do that?

Victor: It was just– it was a joke, you know?

Nikki: I don’t think he found it amusing.

Victor: Mm, probably not. The problem is that kids think they can outmaneuver me. I have another thing coming.

Nikki: I don’t like the sound of that.

Victor: Victoria walks around as if nothing has happened. I know she’s seething that I stepped back in.

Nikki: Well, of course she is. You demoted her and took her place.

Victor: What do you think she’s gonna do with her anger? What do you think? Then, adam, adam walks around smiling after he’s picked up nate hastings dry cleaning. Who’s he trying to fool?

Nikki: I was against your giving him even that opportunity.

Victor: I mean, the long and the short of it is, I don’t know who I can trust.

Nikki: Darling, you can trust victoria and nicholas. And me.

Adam: What has gotten into you, nick?

Nick: You. You have gotten me. And the fact that I’m not punching you in the face right now shows how much restraint I’m able to use.

[ Chuckles ] Well, that’s adam. Never a missed opportunity. You didn’t kiss him back, did you?

Sally: No. Maybe. I– I–

[ Sighs ] I really don’t know. I just haven’t been able to think straight since then.

Chloe: I get it, uh, I mean, I think I get it. What about nick?

[ Sally scoffs ]

Sally: I blew it, chloe. I mean, I just felt so guilty and so wrong, and the whole thing was a mistake and– and… so, I confessed to nick because I couldn’t not tell him. It wasn’t fair.

Chloe: The whole fair/not fair thing gets kind of murky sometimes. How did he take it?

Sally: Not well.

Chloe: Yeah, of course not.

Sally: I mean, the thing is, I thought that I was in love with him. I mean, I know what an amazing man he is and it just took me so long to tell him that I actually was in love with him and that I was sure that he was the man for me, that when I did, he had a hard time believing it and I really don’t blame him for doubting me.

Chloe: Can you stop being so hard on yourself?

Sally: How can I not?

Chloe: Because you have been through so much. It stands to reason why you’ve been so confused. Nick loves you. He’s an amazing man and I’m sure he’ll come around.

Sally: I’m really not so sure about that.

Chloe: Why? What did he say?

Sally: He thinks that I still have unresolved feelings for adam.

Chloe: Do you?

[ Sally chuckles ]

Sally: I really don’t know what I feel. But it really doesn’t matter because nick wants to end our relationship until I figure it out. He doesn’t trust me anymore and… I– I really don’t know if I trust myself.

[ Nick sighs ]

Adam: Nick.

Nick: What is this? What the hell are you doing?

Adam: Listen, you can’t lob a grenade like that and then just walk off like you have nothing more to say.

Nick: There is nothing more to say. I guess you weren’t listening earlier.

Adam: Just tell me. Is this still about me kissing sally? Okay, I told you I was wrong. It was impulsive. I’ve apologized to her and I’ve apologized to you, but if you need me to say it again, I’m sorry.

Nick: You’re damn right it was impulsive because you can’t control yourself and to hell with everyone else, they’re just collateral damage. I have no idea what sally ever saw in you.

Adam: Okay, no, nick, wait–

Nick: Get your hands off me.

Adam: Okay. Sorry. I’m not trying to start anything, I’m just–

Nick: What? You what, adam? You’re impulsive?

Adam: It won’t happen again. Okay, from now on, I’ll keep my distance.

Nick: You’re a disgrace to the newman family.

Victor: I have two children, adam and victoria, who obviously don’t like each other, can’t stand each other. I stepped back into my company, the company I own, and that seems to piss everyone off. And there’s nicholas, who doesn’t give a damn about any of it. And in the middle of it all, nate hastings. I’m beginning to have the feeling that I can trust him, that he’s loyal.

Nikki: I don’t know if that’s a good decision. I mean, if he can stab devon and lily in the back, his own family, what makes you think he won’t do it to you?

Victor: Well, that remains to be seen. I know that one of them will try to betray me from the inside.

Nikki: So, you don’t trust anybody anymore? Darling, you’re sounding a little paranoid.

Victor: Sweetheart, I have reasons.

Nikki: All right, well, then, fire nate and adam. Then, maybe, nicholas will change his mind and come back to the company. Unless, of course, you’ve decided you can’t trust him either. Am I on your watch list as well?

Nikki: I can’t argue with that.

Victor: Good. I want you to know that you have nothing to worry about.

Nikki: Well, you’re in charge again. Why don’t you fire adam and nate if you think one of them will betray you?

Victor: I’m gonna watch them carefully, very carefully from now on.

Nikki: Even victoria?

Victor: [ Sighs ] I hope, I deeply hope, that she is not going to be the one who will plunge the knife into my back.

Nikki: Victor, she would never do that. And what happens when she realizes that you didn’t trust her?

Victor: She’ll understand.

Nikki: No, she won’T. She’ll be mad as hell. I mean, do you really want to incur that anger? I don’t understand this, victor. What is happening to you?

Victor: Don’t you worry, all right? I have reasons to believe that someone is out to stab me in the back. My suspicions have always been justified in the past. I don’t trust them, really don’T. They’re all interested in getting ahold of this empire and I won’t let them. Not as long as I live. They will not take over. No one will take over.

Chloe: Well, nick is wrong to let this blow you two apart. There’s nothing to figure out. You just need to go to nick and tell him how you feel and convince him that you’re sincere.

Sally: What if I’m not?

Chloe: Okay, well, don’t even think that way.

Sally: Well, I’m– I’m serious, chloe. I mean, what if nick is right? What if I can’t love him the way that he needs me to? I really don’t know anything anymore.

Chloe: Sally, you do know. You told me that you love nick. And that adam is in your rear view mirror. That is what you know. Now, you just need to go to nick and prove to him that he knows that too.

[ Sally chuckles ]

Sally: Oh, this reminds me of when I was in like, seventh or eighth grade and I was madly in love with these two really cute boys at the exact same time.

Chloe: Well, we were all really confused as kids.

Sally: Yeah, but I wasn’t confused, I knew that I loved them both.

Chloe: Well, you’re all grown up now.

Sally: Yeah, apparently, when you’re a grown up, you’re supposed to know your heart well enough to know who’s going to make you happy for the long haul and try not to hold on to them both.

Chloe: Listen to your heart. Let it tell you who wins.

[ Sally sighs ]

Sally: No matter the answer?

Chloe: I know the answer. It’s going to tell you that it’s nick. He loves you. And adam, adam is just a part of your past, nothing more.

Sally: And what if it doesn’t tell me that? What if it tells me something completely different?

Victoria: Well, that’s a familiar sight, the two of you going at each other.

Adam: Well, unbelievable. Our brother’s a little out of control, isn’t he?

Victoria: Mm. Well, with you, that’s not really surprising.

Adam: Well, I’m not saying that this time, it wasn’t unmotivated.

Victoria: You know, I’m not really interested in how it started and I’m not wanting to be a referee for my brother’s cage match. And frankly, I suspect that nick’s not buying this new adam thing any more than I am. In fact, nobody’s buying this so-called turnaround of yours.

Adam: Okay, well, as usual, you don’t know what the hell you’re talking about. My fight with nick is not about work or my so-called turnaround. It’s actually a personal issue.

Victoria: You’re right. I jumped to conclusions, something that I often do when you’re around, I’m sorry.

Adam: Did you actually just say that you’re sorry?

Nick: Every time I’m with you… it never fails to make me want to spend more time with you.

Sally: Well, then, I guess, the question becomes… what are we really? You know, are we just friends? Or… is this going somewhere?

Nick: I sure hope so.

Sally: Adam asked to walk me back to my suite after dinner, I agreed.

Nick: Then, he kissed you?

Sally: Yeah, he– [ Exhales ] He kissed me good night, but he instantly regretted it and he said he was sorry.

Nick: I highly doubt my brother regretted anything. He took advantage of the fact that I was gone.

Sally: No, no.

Nick: “Nick’s out of town. Let me real quick try and seduce sally and see if I can convince her to dump him and get back with me.”

Sally: No, nick, that’s not what happened.

Nick: That is exactly what happened. This is how my brother operates. It’s who he is. You need to stop this. You need to leave her alone for sally’s benefit, mine and definitely yours. You know me. My patience has a limit.

Adam: You– you’re absolutely right, okay? I’m sorry, I crossed the line. What I did was wrong on every level and I want to apologize sincerely to you and to sally.

Nick: “That spectra woman.” You know how insulting that sounds? It’s as if you don’t know who she is or have spent any time with her, or know that she is capable and smart or what a creative, hard working woman she actually is.

Victor: Warms the cockles of my heart. I know that you and your brother are involved in a triangular relationship with that woman. No good. You need to hear what I’m about to tell you. Sally spectra is nothing but a symptom of the rivalry between you and your brother. She’d be gone one day, forgotten. What remains is a poisoned relationship between you and adam. I’m warning you, if you choose that woman over family, you will live to regret it, I promise you. So I didn’t think I needed swiffer,

Victoria: It’s, um– it’s hard not to give in to instincts with you, but I told dad that I would give you a chance. Hence the apology.

Adam: [ Scoffs] Okay. So, you didn’t mean it. You were just pretending.

Victoria: And nate has convinced me that I should consider your accomplishments before I write you off.

Adam: Well, that must be very hard for you, considering how you feel about me. You know, speaking of our father, have you, uh, noticed anything odd about him?

Victoria: What do you mean by odd?

Adam: Um, being forgetful, memory issues.

Victoria: No, why? Have you noticed anything?

Adam: Oh, it’s– it’s probably nothing, but, um, he called me nicholas and then he got pissed off when I brought it up. You know, I thought he was doing it intentionally to put me down, but then I realized he didn’t even know that he had done it. He actually denied it.

Victoria: Well, maybe he just made a mistake and he felt embarrassed.

Adam: Okay, when is our father ever been embarrassed about anything? I mean, you should know that better than anybody. He owns every thought he has and every move that he makes.

Victoria: You’re not wrong.

Adam: Wow. That’s twice in one day. Apology and an acknowledgment. You are really trying. Okay. See you, sis.

[ Phone ringing ]

Nick: What’s up, vic?

Victoria: Hey, can we meet?

Nick: I’m not in the mood, all right? I’m tired of everyone trying to convince me I need to come back to newman.

Victoria: No, nick, it’s not about that. It’s important. Please.

[ Nick sighs ]

Nikki: I hate when you shut me out thinking that you’re doing it for my own good.

Victor: I’m asking you to be patient. Eventually, I’ll tell you everything.

Nikki: Fine. I know better than to keep pushing at this point.

Victor: Whatever happens, I know that I can trust you to keep your suspicions to yourself.

Nikki: Hating it all the while.

Victor: Whatever happens, however this unfolds… you’ve got to trust me.

Sally: I hate that I still have these feelings for adam, but I’m just so sick of pretending like I don’T.

Chloe: Well, it sounds like adam isn’t making things any easier for you.

Sally: No, he’s just forcing me to face the truth and nick’s doing the same thing.

[ Sighs ] So, I just have to say it just to get said. I do still have feelings for adam. Nick is right. He and I have unresolved issues.

Chloe: Okay, just– just stop saying that. This– this is all about adam. Adam getting what he wants, no matter who he has to manipulate and who he has to hurt in the process. Don’t be fooled by him, sally.

[ Sally sighs ]

Sally: Yeah, I don’t know. I guess I have been a fool when it comes to him. I just– I don’t know what to think.

Chloe: You do know. You do know. It’s– it’s just that you don’t want to think it, okay? Look, I was married to billy abbott, for god’s sake. I– I know firsthand how hard it is to get bad boys out of your system, even when they have just put you through so much pain and so much trouble, just like adam has done to you. You can still have feelings for him. Yuck. But… it doesn’t mean that you need to act on those feelings. I mean, you’re not going to get back together with him, right? And you’re going to do everything possible to fumigate him from your system, correct?

Sally: I’ve tried that.

Chloe: Okay, well, then try harder because I refuse to believe that you and nick can’t figure this out. I mean, there are too many reasons to fix that relationship. Nick loves you. He’s an amazing man. And he would never do anything to hurt you. Am I wrong?

Sally: No, you’re not.

Chloe: Besides, you just launched a business together. I mean, what are you gonna do about that?

Sally: Oh, I don’t know. I don’t know.

Chloe: Okay, but you do know some very important things. You ended this relationship with adam for a good reason. He brings you nothing but pain. And nick… I mean, nick is the way to happiness. So, what you need to do is, you just need to go to nick and tell him that you’re ready to let go of the past, but you need to do it now. Still living with odors?

Adam: Hey, so what is going on with nick? I mean, he’s pretty riled up. He almost punched me a few minutes ago.

Chloe: You know, uh, sally and I are just still wrapping up this conversation, so you think you could give us, like, uh, I don’t know, like, a minute? You see that? Nick almost punched the guy, which means he’s angry, so that means he still cares.

Sally: Yeah, or maybe he’s just angry at me.

Chloe: Well, anger is passion. And if there’s passion, there’s still a chance. Don’t tell yourself otherwise, so go do what you need to do.

Sally: God, I cannot believe I’m dealing with all this right now.

Chloe: Okay, well, if not now–

Sally: No, I know, it was just I’m creating a company, you know? I’m supposed to be focusing on that.

[ Sally sighs ] If I even still have a company. Bye.

Adam: Hey, sally. Sally. Whatever it is, can I help?

Sally: Uh, no, you cannot help.

Adam: Okay. Well, then can we go somewhere and– and talk at least?

Sally: Um, those days are over. I have a meeting to get to.

Victoria: Thank you.

Nick: Thank you.

Victoria: So, did you order that iced tea for my benefit? So, I don’t think you’re drinking right now.

Nick: Wish I was getting drunk. It sounds like a great idea.

Victoria: I’m sorry, nicholas. I’m also very worried about you. You look like hell.

Nick: Thank you. You wanted to meet. What’s up?

Victoria: I saw you and adam tearing into each other at the park. What was that about?

Nick: It’s personal. I don’t want to get into it.

Victoria: [ Laughs ] Okay.

Nick: Is that all you want to talk about?

Victoria: No, absolutely not.

Nick: Okay, then what else you got?

Victoria: I have more confirmation that something is off with dad.

Nick: Vic, this again? Come on.

Victoria: I know that you’re not in the right place for this, obviously right now, but please just hear me out. Dad called adam by your name, and then he claimed that he didn’t, and then he got mad at adam for pointing it out.

Nick: Adam already told me all about this. I hardly think it constitutes a reason for dad to start therapy. All right, why can’t you just let this go? Dad demoted you and he took your place. It’s not a sign of diminished capacity.

Victoria: I wish you would stop thinking that’s all this is. It’s more than that.

Nick: Dad had been demoting and disowning and firing his whole life and he’s doing that right now. Now, the way I see it, you got two choices. You can either step up and deal with it or just walk away.

Claire: Is everything okay?

Nikki: Oh, claire, I didn’t see you there.

Claire: Sorry I scared you. I used to accidentally do that to my great-aunt all the time and always took her days to calm down.

Nikki: So, I have more of this to look forward to?

Claire: I’ll be sure not to surprise you again.

[ Nikki sighs ]

Nikki: Oh, how sweet of you. That’s so sweet. Thank you. It’s just what I needed.

Claire: Why don’t you take a seat and let me get this for you, nikki. I don’t want to overstep, but is everything okay? Tell me to butt out if it is.

Nikki: [ Sighs ] Well, you are very intuitive. Or I can’t hide things very well. Thank you.

Claire: Is there anything I can do?

Nikki: No, no, no, e– everything is fine. I’m just dealing with some family issues.

Claire: Hm. Those can definitely be troubling.

Nikki: Oh, yes. Never a dull moment at the newman household. You’ll catch on to that pretty soon, but for now, there’s really nothing for you to be concerned about.

Claire: Understood. I’m a very good listener, though, if you ever need one.

Nikki: Thank you, claire. That’s good to know.

(Music box playing)

Nikki: Entities as large as newman enterprises obviously come with inherent difficulties, even when it is family owned. I– there’s bound to be disagreements from time to time.

Claire: I imagine there are conflicts, especially with the various dynamic personalities your children are blessed with.

Nikki: Well, that’s one way of looking at it.

Claire: Look at victoria. I’m so impressed by all of her accomplishments.

Nikki: Oh, she’s an amazing woman. Victor and I are very proud.

Claire: It’s a tribute to yourself and mr. Newman how successful both of your children are. Am I being nosy?

Nikki: No, not at all. I appreciate your compassion. But everything will work out. It always does.

Claire: Stop worrying about the potholes in the road and enjoy the journey, even when it’s rocky. My great-aunt likes to say that.

Nikki: She sounds very wise, as do you. She has taught you well.

Claire: Yes, she has.

Victoria: You know, I’m really sick of this accusation that I’m not really concerned about dad and that I’m just mad at him because I got demoted. Did you ever think for one second that maybe dad’s not up to this challenge that he’s taken on and that maybe the reason that he stepped back in the first place is because he senses that he’s slowing down? You know, there’s no real justification for him coming back?

Nick: Can you hear yourself, vic? You know exactly why dad came back. He was watching his company fracture and he’s not the kind of man who’s just going to sit back and say, “hey, good luck with that.”

Victoria: But that’s just it, nick. Newman is not fractured. It’s stronger than it’s ever been. And for dad to think that, I mean, it’s just a sign. It’s a sign that he is not thinking clearly.

Nick: Dad wanting to come back and take control of his own company is not a symptom of him losing his mind.

Victoria: Oh, god, you know, everybody sees dad as this god. That he’s immortal or he’s infallible, but he’s not. He’s a human being who’s aging. He’s had multiple medical issues in the past. I know, I know, we don’t want to think about the future. We certainly don’t want to say the words out loud, but dad is in a crisis. Even if you refuse to see it.

Nick: There’s nothing to see.

Victoria: Okay, well, what if you’re wrong? What if you’re wrong and– and we do nothing about it and then it gets worse? Are you gonna be able to live with that?

Chloe: Why do you have to ruin everything? You are the worst. I am so sick of watching you destroy people’s lives.

Adam: Maybe you should try shooting me again. With better aim this time.

Chloe: Maybe. Nah. Too busy.

Sharon: And if that’s the case, the two of them will resolve it themselves, one way or another. It’s not an opening for you to push yourself in between them. I’m telling you, adam, it’s time to walk away.

Adam: Yeah, I– I can’t promise you that, sharon. I believe that nick and sally are finished. Their relationship is over.

Sharon: You don’t know that.

Adam: Okay, well let me tell you what I do know is sally and I, we belong together. It’s inevitable.

Sharon: Wow, you really don’t care who you hurt, do you?

[ Sally sighs ]

Sally: Nick, please call me back. Just give me a chance to talk to you. It is not what you think. This can’t be the end of us. We can get through this.

[ Sally sighs ]

[ Nick grunting ]

Victor: Son. Talk to me.

[ Nick panting ]

[ Knocking on door ]

[ Glass shatters ]

[ Victoria panting ]

Nick: Dad is fading. And I think it’s happening faster than I ever imagined.

At 11:18, an unidentified figure, likely male, entered the house. Now, there’s no footage from the interior, so we don’t know what happened inside, but at 11:39, the unidentified figure left through the front door with ava. They were close together. He appears to be leading her. And from her posture, it’s likely her hands were tied. They arrive at the docks at 12:03 A.M., And they leave in a single-engine outboard. That’s what we have. Well done. You’ve certainly given a briefing before. Yeah, I have. Spinelli, what we really need to know is where they docked the boat in port charles. [ Breathes deeply ] That guy comes back, sonny’s guy, and I’m gonna spill my guts. And their next move is to come after you. And then you’ll be as dead as me. But more than that, the baby was just born. I mean, do you know how extreme that’s going to be to take her from Sarah now?

Well, not if she’s an unfit mother. Unfit. Sarah lied to me. She told me flat out that I’m not Victoria’s father. She put another man’s name on the birth certificate and married him to keep me away from my kid. And it’s not the first time. She did the exact same thing to your boyfriend, Eric Brady. Sheila: Come on, don’t say the sparks have gone out for us already. I just– I thought a little romance would help take your mind off of your concerns with hope.

Deacon: Yeah, me too. I’m sorry, babe. I just, uh… I just can’t help but wonder if– if I’ve lost my daughter for telling her about us.

Luna: I’m so happy there’s no more secrets between us.

Rj: Yeah. You know about my granddad, I know about li being your aunt. I just– I hate that you’ve been dealing with all this stress. I mean, it’s– it’s not worth it.

Brooke: You must’ve misunderstood, honey.

Hope: Mm-mm. Nope. Nothing to misunderstand, mom. Dad was standing there with sheila and they told me that they were in love.

Brooke: No! No. This can’t be! This is— this is ridiculous! Why aren’t you more shocked?

Ridge: More shocked? Why, more shocked? Why? I know. I– I knew this already.

Brooke and hope: You knew?

Ridge: Yes!

Brooke: What–

Hope: I’m sorry, how did you find out?

Brooke: And more importantly, why didn’t you tell us? I was stuck.

Sheila: I just hate to see you so down. I hope you’re not having any regrets.

Deacon: Hey, life’s too short for regrets. Besides, I asked you to marry me, remember?

Sheila: Yeah. [ Chuckles ] Yeah, but I– all we did was tell the kids about our relationship. They don’t even know we’re engaged yet, and… I know that you’re worried. You’re concerned about losing hope.

Deacon: I’m not gonna let it get to that. I’ll figure something out. Hopefully, it just– just gonna take some time.

Sheila: Yeah. Would you let me give you a massage?

Brooke: I can’t believe that you didn’t tell us that deacon and sheila were together!

Ridge: It was complicated. We didn’t ask too many questions. We just wanted to put sheila away for good.

Brooke: Okay. So you and bill made a promise to deacon that you wouldn’t say anything to anybody, especially hope and me, in exchange for deacon helping you take sheila down.

Ridge: Yeah, that’s the deal we made. And I’m sorry, I should have said something. I don’t wanna keep things from you, but I thought this would be best for the family and keep everybody safe.

Hope: And how did that turn out? I mean, sheila’s free. My dad is still with her. Maybe if you had told us when you found out, we might have been able to prevent it from happening.

Brooke: Oh, honey. I’m as shocked as you are. I can’t believe this. I mean, deacon’s made some bad mistakes and decisions in the past, but this is horrible. I mean, how are you feeling after finding out?

[ Hope chuckling ]

Hope: Stunned. Disappointed. Sad. Dad was just turning his entire life around and now…

Brooke: I feel the same way. I don’t understand why.

Hope: Could you talk to him? Please, mom, you’ve always been able to get through to him. Could– could you maybe get him to open his eyes and– and get him to see what a terrible, just dangerous situation this is?

Brooke: Yes, yes, honey. I will do that. This ends today.

Ridge: Whoa, whoa, whoa. You’re not going over there alone. Sheila’s there. I’ll go with you. Let’s go.

Brooke: Okay.

Finn: Wait, I’m- I’m confused. Like, what does my mom have to do with you working here? Also, this is just crazy for me because I mean, I haven’t seen you since you were a kid!

Luna: Yeah. Um, there’s a reason for that, actually. I don’t– I don’t mean to talk poorly about your mom, but she’s the reason why we haven’t seen each other. She hasn’t really gotten along with my mom.

Finn: Yeah, I just, uh– I mean, there was no secret that they weren’t that close.

Luna: Right. I can’t imagine the one-sided stories you’ve heard. Sorry, it’s just because they never really get along. Um, aunt li’s, like, hyper-protective of you and she hasn’t been allowing me or my mom to be part of your life here in L.A.

Rj: Yeah. Like, when she found out that she was working here, she came down really hard, and she– she insisted that she leave. I– I just– I don’t feel like that that’s her call. I mean, plus, on top of that, she’s an incredibly important part of what my granddad and I are doing on– on our new collection. And I also– you know, I want her to stay. I’m just asking you if you could, you know, step up and help your cousin.

Finn: Well, yeah. I mean, we all know that my mom can be a little intense.

Rj: Yeah. Yeah, you know, but, I mean, come on, to mess with her career like this? I mean, she– she’s incredibly talented and intelligent and she– she fits in here perfectly. Everybody here wants her to stay. So, I’m just asking, you know, if you could back luna with your mom. It’d be really appreciated, but I just wanna go on record as saying that… luna’s not leaving forrester creations. Febreze!

Brooke: A shock? A shock? This is appalling. You’ve made a good life for yourself, deacon. Now, you wanna throw it all away for some sociopath like sheila carter?

[ Sheila clears throat ]

Ridge: Ah.

Sheila: Well, news, uh… news seems to travel fast.

Brooke: Well, there she is. Why do you wanna be with a monster like this? You know of all the things that she’s done. You know what she’s going to do to you? She is going to take your status. She’s gonna take your restaurant. She’s gonna take away your relationship with our daughter and she’s going to destroy it and she’s not gonna think twice about it. Don’t let her cause any more damage than she’s already done. Tell her. Tell her to get lost and never come back.

Rj: Yeah, I should also say that luna had no idea that I texted you, by the way.

Luna: Yeah, this was not how I pictured reconnecting with my cousin after all these years. I used to look up to you so much. Like, literally, you were always showing off climbing that tree in the backyard.

Finn: Yeah, well… you know, going up is the easy part, but, uh, coming down, that’s– you know, that’s different.

Luna: I hated not seeing you.

Finn: Well, I’m sorry about that, if it really was because of our moms and their own issues.

[ Cell phone chiming ] Oh, hey, look, I, um– I gotta get to work, but… look, I– I promise, I’ll– I’ll talk to my mom about you.

Luna: Thank you.

Finn: All right. Good to see you.

Luna: Thank you.

Rj: Hey, thank you, man. Seriously, I appreciate it. Thanks for helping us.

Finn: Got it.

Rj: So, are you upset?

Luna: What, that I told you my secret and then you went and got my cousin involved? No. Not at all. I actually really appreciate it. How did you do that?

Rj: How’d I do– how did I text him?

Luna: No! No, I mean, like, how did you know that this is exactly what I needed and what I couldn’t bring myself to do? I mean, I wanted to see finn so badly. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about aunt li.

Rj: Yeah, I know. Well, um, you do need to talk to her… and she’s on her way. Right now.

Luna: Aunt li’s coming here?

Thomas: You were right about the beading.

Hope: Hm?

Thomas: Was it my attention to detail that tripped you up or was it what you were talking to me about– it was what you were talking to me about earlier. What the heck was your dad thinking?

Hope: I don’t know. Honestly, I’m– I’m still in shock and I’m trying really hard not to think about my dad and sheila… especially when we have so much we need to be working on, so.

Thomas: Yeah. Well, I’m– I’m glad to hear that. We do have a lot to work on. I don’t know, it’s– I’ve missed spending more time with you. I miss this. I miss us. Stouffer’s makes you happyfull

Luna: Aunt li’s on her way here?

Rj: Actually, charlie texted me a couple minutes ago and said that she’s in the building. Hey, listen.

[ Luna groaning ] We’re gonna handle this, okay? We’re gonna do it together.

[ Door rattling ]

Li: Rj, hi.

Rj: Li… I know that luna is your niece and I just wanna say that I do not understand why you are treating her so poorly and trying to dissuade her from working at forrester.

Li: No, you don’t understand, rj. This is a family matter. It’s none of your business.

Rj: Forrester creations is my business. It’s my family’s business and I have been working with luna for weeks now and she has proven to be incredibly talented and intelligent and she is welcome at forrester. My dad thinks so, my granddad thinks so and I’m sure that steffy would agree, okay? So, li, don’t tell luna, our intern, that she’s not allowed to work here ’cause she’s not going anywhere.

Li: Well, this is our family business, rj, and I’ve made it crystal clear to luna about what she needs to do. She’s written her letter of resignation. She is leaving forrester creations today.

Finn: You know, maybe

thomas has changed.

Maybe he’s new and reformed

and that would be wonderful,

but it doesn’t change

the fact that you are

than thomas.

Brooke: He’s right.

You do deserve better than

thomas. In your mind,

do you think he’s right?

Thomas: I lost you again.

Hope: Sorry.

Thomas: No. It’s okay. You never have to apologize with me. That’s what you get. Total commitment, love, unconditional support.

Ridge: I came here looking for this animal and you told me you had no contact with her. You swore to me!

Deacon: Oh, really? Like you swore to me that you wouldn’t say anything about the two of us? Carter? Look, man, you’re a pragmatic guy. What good would it have done if I told you?

Ridge: You’re a bigger idiot than I thought.

Sheila: You know what, you should know better than anyone else, sometimes love just doesn’t make sense.

Ridge: Oh, god. Look–

Sheila: The heart wants what it wants–

Ridge: Give me a break–

Deacon: I didn’t tell– I didn’t tell you about us because I know that sheila’s not a threat anymore. Not to steffy or her kids. Not the way you think.

Ridge: How? She’s been a threat to my family for as long as I can remember. Now, magically, she’s changed?

Deacon: No, not magically, okay? But everybody deserves a chance at rehabilitation if they seriously want a shot at– at a new life, at doing better. I mean, look at me!

Brooke: Deacon, you have changed and you’ve grown! That’s why I don’t understand any of this. Why do you wanna be with her? Look at what you’ve done. You’ve made il giardino a hit. You spent time really rebuilding your relationship with our daughter. Our relationship is better than we’ve ever had it, ever. I am– I am so, so proud of you, but this? This has got to end. You have to tell sheila to leave and do it today.

Austin is forced to lie to a judge and tell him that Cyrus is in frail health because of his heart attack and is no longer a threat to society. Austin then calls Mason to tell him to let Ava go. Mason tells him that he can’t let Ava go until the boss tells him to do it. Avery’s nanny Pilar tells Dex and Josslyn that she is worried because Ava hasn’t returned her text messages. Dex sends a text to Michael telling him that Ava is missing but he is going to find her so he shouldn’t worry Sonny on his wedding day. Dex and Josslynn begin to search for Ava.

Willow has another dream where Harmony tells her she has something very important to tell her for her protection. Wiley awakens Willow before Harmony can tell her anything.

Sonny and Nina’s wedding begins with Michael as best man and Kristina and Willow as bridesmaids. Donna is the flower girl and Wiley is the ring bearer.

Josslyn goes to Wyndemere to interview Ava’s butler. Josslyn finds Ava’s cellphone and a grape lollipop under the coffee table. Ava’s butler gives Dex and Josslynn the footage from Ava’s security camera. The footage is blurry so Dex and Josslynn take the footage to Spinelli who also hacks into the harbor security camera. Dex is able to see that Mason took Ava in a truck. Spinelli thinks Ava might be inside a warehouse near the harbor.

Mrs. Wu continues to put pressure on Curtis to sell the Savoy to her, but Aunt Stella throws Mrs. Wu out of the house.

Cyrus tells Laura he might get an early release due to his health. Cyrus tells Laura he is jealous of Sonny because the people in Port Charles respect Sonny although everyone knows he is in the mob.

Sonny and Nina exchange wedding vows.

Michael gets a call from his contact at the SEC and finds out Nina turned Carly and Drew into the SEC.

Cyrus is released from prison and is ready to continue going after Sonny.

Interview with EP Jeff Astrof of “Shining Vale” on Starz by Suzanne 10/10/23

It was really fun to speak with Jeff. again.  He wears a lot of hats as no only Co-Creator of the show, but also Writer, Showrunner and Executive Producer. He’s very passionate about the show, and who can blame him? It’s a great series, with an amazing mixture of comedy, drama and humor. It also has a wonderful cast: Courtney Cox, Greg Kinnear, Mira Sorvino, Merrin Dungey, Judith Light, Sherilyn Fenn, Allison Tolman, Gus Birney and Dylan Gage. I love it because it’s horror, but it’s not gross like so many horror movies or shows are.

If you missed the first season, you can stream it now on the Starz site, Amazon or ROKU. It’s definitely worth watching, and Jeff is justifiably proud of all of their efforts. You don’t want to miss season two, which premieres “October 13 at midnight ET on the Starz app, all Starz streaming and on-demand platforms and on Lionsgate+ streaming platform in the U.K. and Ireland; on linear at 9 p.m. ET/PT in the U.S. and Canada. Jeff Astrof is a writer/producer who has worked in television way longer than he ever
thought possible. Jeff came to prominence as one of the original writers of “Friends,”
where he co-wrote several notable episodes, including “The One After the Super Bowl”
which was seen by over 51 million viewers. Additionally, his background work on the
show as “hot guy at party”, “guy late for plane” and “disappointed hockey fan” remain
examples of overacting to this day. Jeff also wrote on all five seasons of “The New

About “Shining Vale”

Season one of “Shining Vale” introduced Pat and Terry Phelps, a dysfunctional family that tried to run from their problems by moving their kids into a Victorian mansion in small-town Connecticut. The only problem? It may be haunted. Once settled in, Pat encountered Rosemary, a demon who possessed her body and turned her life upside down. When the family steps in to “save” Pat, they commit her to a psychiatric hospital where she sees an old photo of a nurse who looks just like her demon Rosemary.

Season two kicks off four months later, when Pat’s insurance runs out and she is released from the psychiatric hospital early. Hope and Finn can’t believe that Deacon and Sheila are in love. She thanks him for telling her to go see Deacon so she could see what was going on. She decides to go see Brooke and let her know. She thinks Brooke will be able to talk him out of it. They’re worried about what might happen in the future if Sheila feels threatened.

Sheila is relieved that their kids know they’re in love, but Deacon is still very sad that Hope reacted so badly. Sheila optimistically thinks that this just proves how much their kids love them. They agree that they should keep their engagement a secret for a while.

Ridge and Brooke make out in the design office. She’s been inspiring his designs. Ridge is sure that he’s going to win the competition against Eric, but he hates the fact that RJ will also be on the losing side. He’s worried that it will ruin his confidence in designing. Brooke thinks it’s best not to baby RJ if he’s going to be in the fashion industry. They discuss the competition some more. Hope drops by and gives them the bad news about Deacon and Sheila.

RJ begs Luna to tell him why she’s resigning, even though she clearly doesn’t want to. She reluctantly tells him about Li not wanting her there (but not about why Li hates her mother). He doesn’t really understand why Li doesn’t want her there, but he’s sorry that she’s had to deal with all this alone. He talks Luna out of resigning at Forrester. They kiss again.

Billy: Uh-huh.

[ Laughs ] Oh, I don’t care. Why are you obsessing about this, Billy? Come on. Let’s just take it to the trash, open up the lid and put it in there.

Victor tells Nikki that he called Adam Nikolas as a joke. Victor also tells Nikki that he thinks Adam, Victoria, or Nate is going to stab him in the back and he needs to keep an eye on them. Victor tells Nikki that he trusts her and she shouldn’t worry because he won’t let anyone take the company away from him.

Nick tells Adam to stay away from him and whatever relationship they had has ended.

Chloe persuades Sally to do whatever she has to do to get back together with Nick.

Victoria talks to Nick about their father’s health, but he thinks she is just upset because Victor demoted her. Nick advises Victoria to let this go and do her job or walk away. Nick decides to go to the gym and hit the punching bag. Victor arrives and wonders if Nick needs to talk.

Sharon advises Adam to let Nick and Sally work out their problems and not insert himself in between them.

Claire: Mr. Newman, it’s an honor.

Victor: So, you’re the young lady I’ve heard so much about. My goodness. Welcome to the company.

Claire: Thank you, sir.

Victor: Uh, my wife speaks very highly of you. She rarely does that, you know.

Nikki: Now.

Victor: And you are aware of the importance of the job that you’re about to take on?

Claire: Very much so, sir. I am honored to be entrusted with the responsibility. And I plan to give miss newman my all.

Victor: I expect no less.

Claire: I know how lucky I am to be part of such an exciting young business like newman media. And to be given this opportunity to learn from the best. I couldn’t have hoped for better.

Sally: So, now that the financing is in place and I have a network of suppliers lined up, I think it is time to bring in some clients.

Nick: Right, clients.

Nate: It’s okay. It’s okay. Let’s hear it, adam.

Adam: Uh, well, I, um, dropped off your shirts at the dry cleaner, uh, picked up your suit alterations at fenmore’S. I went ahead and confirmed tomorrow’s breakfast, and then the presentation binders for, uh, this afternoon’s team meeting, got those. And the research you asked for is gonna be on your desk by the end of the day.

Nate: Wow, you’ve accomplished quite a bit in one morning. I’m impressed.

Adam: Well, my sister’s obviously not.

Victoria: Bravo for doing your job.

Adam: Okay, yes, that is the spirit.

Victoria: And my question is why are you working so hard?

Adam: I mean, isn’t that the idea? Work hard, get the job done.

Nate: Which is what you seem to be doing.

Adam: And there’s something wrong with that?

Victoria: Uh, just a little suspicious, that’s all.

Adam: How so?

Victoria: It’s a clear sign that you’re up to something. – “Best thing I’ve ever done.”

Victoria: And why exactly should it be easier?

Adam: Because this would be better for everybody. We would all benefit if this works out.

Nate: So far, so good.

Adam: Thank you.

Victoria: My jury’s still out.

Adam: Of course it is and I can’t wait for the verdict. Now, if you don’t have anything new for my to do list, I’m gonna head back to work. I’ll see you at the office.

Victoria: I thought that you and I were both immune to adam’s tricks. Please tell me that you’re not falling for his con.

Nick: Trying really hard to forget about that kiss and I hate seeming like I’m paranoid or that I’m dragging up old emotions for you.

Sally: You have no reason to be paranoid.

Nick: Yeah. You and adam, you’re just friends. Even if adam doesn’t believe it, but that’s what you told me.

Sally: And that’s what I meant.

Nick: Then, I believe you. But then you also told me that you were torn up inside and that your feelings were all over the place. And then you turned around and saw how upset I was. You said something to try and make me feel better.

Sally: What are you talking about?

Nick: Sally you went from, I’m not ready to be in love to I’m falling in love with you in no time flat.

Sally: Okay. That’s a bit of an exaggeration.

Nick: You can’t deny the shift was pretty quick. Because then you told me about the kiss and then, you know, you’re just trying to make me feel better.

Sally: Well, yeah, of course, I don’t want you to be upset. And I don’t want you questioning my wanting to be with you. And I also would not admit to feeling something if it wasn’t true.

Nick: Yeah, but the timing, it can’t be a coincidence.

Sally: What are you really saying?

Nick: You don’t see some cause and effect there?

Sally: Look, what difference does it make how I got to where I am or– or when? Me being open about my feelings is the important part.

Nick: Sally, it’s, I just need you to know that you can always be honest with me.

Sally: Of course, I know that, okay? And I am being honest. Yeah, I’m– my emotions are a little tangled up and that hasn’t changed. Adam got to me.

Nick: Which is exactly what he wanted.

Sally: Maybe.

Nick: Sally, come on.

Sally: Look, I don’t know that for sure.

Nick: How can you not know that?

Sally: Okay, look, I don’t care about his reasoning, okay? I care about us. I would really like to think that– that I’m always in control of my emotions and that I can handle anything that’s thrown at me and most of the time, that’s true. But adam, I mean, you know how he is.

Nick: Yeah, I do.

Sally: He’s relentless.

Nick: He always is.

Sally: And he knows what buttons to push.

Nick: Yeah. Every single one of them. Can I ask you something?

Sally: Of course.

Nick: Do you think adam would have been able to push all those buttons if there wasn’t some part of you that was still in love with him?

Nikki: You made a very good first impression on my husband and trust me, that is no easfe.

Claire: I hope I didn’t come across like a complete idiot. We studied newman enterprises in business school, so to meet the man in person was intimidating. I wrote a paper about a series of acquisitions he made in the late 90s, and now I just shook his hand.

Nikki: Well, I’m sure he would love to read your paper.

Claire: Maybe down the road, a long time from now. I hope I came off as a professional.

Nikki: Oh, you did just fine.

Audra: I’m sorry to interrupt, nikki, but I just got off a call with the podcast network we want to acquire.

Nikki: Where are we on the purchase price?

Audra: Still too far apart. You know, they’re holding to an outrageous figure. You know, I think they just fear they’ve boxed themselves in and are trying to save face.

Nikki: Well, let’s give them some more time. Or, claire. Your thoughts?

Claire: Me?

Nikki: Why not?

Claire: I– I don’t know any of the details, obviously, I’m so new.

Nikki: I am not sure I want to go up against you in a negotiation.

Claire: Just some things I’ve studied. And my great-aunt always said I was a born negotiator. I had a very good success rate with getting later bedtime.

Nikki: Oh, really? I think I had that same young girl in my house.

Claire: Your daughter, victoria.

Nikki: Absolutely. She was always very strong-minded and it could be exhausting. Now, there are some things I want to make clear.

Claire: Uh, of course, mrs. Newman. I will take notes.

Nikki: Oh, you don’t have to do that. Uh, you can if you want to. It’s not necessary. First, I would like for you to call me nikki.

Claire: Okay. Done.

Nikki: And I am a demanding boss, as my husband alluded to, but I try to make my expectations known, so you will know exactly what I want from you. I am tough, but fair. And sometimes, it is imperative that I move on something very quickly. You might feel like I’m barking orders at you, but trust me, it’s nothing personal.

Claire: Of course, mrs.– Nikki. I think you’ll find I have a pretty thick skin. I’ve taught myself not to take criticism or brusqueness personally. Most things aren’t personal. They’re more about what the other person is going through than something you did.

Nikki: Hm. You’re a bit of an old soul, aren’t you?

Claire: I don’t know about that, but I did grow up in a very strict household, so I was taught to follow the rules. Do what you’re told. Behave appropriately.

Nikki: Oh, your great aunt laid down the law, did she?

Claire: I love my great aunt, but she didn’t always see eye to eye with all of my friend’s parents about what a young girl should be allowed to do.

Nikki: And you don’t have any siblings, is that right? I lost my parents at a fairly young age. Thank god for my older sister. Did you have anybody aside from your great aunt that you… I’m starting to sense that you prefer not to talk about the past.

Claire: I’d rather focus on the future.

Sally: I don’t love adam. That’s over. Just like your other loves are in the past, okay? So can we not? Because I would much rather talk about us and our future. Our relationship and the company that– that you’re helping me build and your belief in me that means everything. Look, adam and I are friends. We went through a horrible ordeal together. And so yeah, I guess I– I feel affection for him. As a friend. Empathy.

Nick: Losing ava bonded you.

Sally: Yeah, of course it did. And I think you would understand that because you went through the pain yourself. It doesn’t just leave you. But sharing that with one person doesn’t discount how you feel about someone else. I am falling in love with you. I wouldn’t lie about that. Can you please believe me?

Nate: Me tolerating adam isn’t the same as trusting him. I’m just as skeptical of his turnaround as you are.

Victoria: Really? Well, it didn’t seem like that a minute ago. You were praising at him like you were gonna hand him a trophy or something.

Nate: As opposed to what? Provoking him to be on his guard? That’s not gonna help us. Remember what you told me. We need to sit back, wait for adam to make a move that benefits him and damages the company. Lull him into a false sense of security. He won’t be able to help showing his hand. That’s when your father will finally be able to see that all adam’s talk about humbling himself and starting over is the bs we already know it to be.

Victoria: Okay. Well, I can start complimenting him and telling him that he’s doing a good job. He would see right through that.

Nate: Okay. That’s fine. Nothing overboard that he could clock, but we are on the same page about building adam’s confidence, right? To then knock him down when he shows his hand.

Victoria: Yes.

Nate: Then we have to let him think that we bought his act. That we firmly believe he is cool with being the world’s best assistant.

Victoria: All right. All right. I’ll– I’ll have a more positive attitude then.

Nate: Good.

Victoria: It’s not gonna be easy though.

Nate: I know.

Victoria: Because being nice to adam does not address the bigger issue.

Nate: Which is?

Victoria: My father. Ma, ma, ma-

Nate: Victoria, I thought you’d let that go and accepted the changes at newman. You said you’d go along with what your father wants.

Victoria: I said that I would go along with what my father wanted for now because it was the only feasible choice ’cause the only thing to do in the moment is to keep an eye on adam and wait for him to screw up.

Nate: That’s still the objective.

Victoria: I’m sorry. But you know what? It’s just harder than I thought it would be to wait this all out. I’m not a particularly patient person, nate.

Nate: You’re not? I had no idea.

Victoria: And to hear my father say that he was gonna whip us all into shape. I mean, that kind of paternalistic stance. Yeah, adam, sure, of course. And nicholas maybe, but me? I have been leading this company and I have been leading it well, so for him to include me in his– in his cleanup plan, it–

Nate: I know you’re hurt.

Victoria: No, I’m not hurt. I’m not. I’m insulted.

Nate: But taking it out on your father, saying he’s the problem–

Victoria: Is there anything that you can agree with me on? Is everything that I do wrong?

Nate: Victoria, look, let’s not turn this into an argument. I was simply pointing out that we agreed on a strategy. We said we’d sit back, see how things unfolded with your father at the helm and we’d watch adam very closely.

Victoria: Okay. Great, great, but that’s not working for me. I can’t just sit by and do nothing. It just makes me feel more isolated than I already am.

Nate: Isolated how?

Victoria: I– I had an entire company. My father threw me out of the ceo chair. Nicholas refuses to come back to newman to offer me his support and adam is worming his way back into people’s lives. I’m sorry, but I don’t believe that it’s genuine. And it’s just the first step in god knows what and you think my reaction is inappropriate for some reason. I feel like I’m out here on my own. I feel like no one’s on my side.

Nate: I did not say that. You have to know I support you 100%.

Victoria: Do you?

Nate: Of course. I said it before and I will say it again. I am only suggesting you keep the peace with your father because I believe it is the best way forward for you. I don’t want victor hurting you any more than he already has. I don’t want everything that you’ve accomplished at your family’s company to be undermined by adam. Can’t you see that I’m just trying to protect you?

Nick: Is it possible that you just think you’re in love with me or that you wish you were? Because you know it’s safe.

Sally: That’s not fair. Because my feelings for you are real and they’re huge and for you to just dismiss them like that–

Nick: I’m not trying to do that, okay? I just don’t want you to feel like you’re trapped. If you’re confused, I get it, all right? If you need some time, then please just take it.

Sally: Look, I never said that’s what I needed.

Nick: I absolutely hate it that adam is manipulating you. That he’s manipulating us. And it just proves yet again that all that talk from him about wanting to be a better person was just that. It’s just talk. It’s just adam. He’s always going to be him and it’s clearly affecting you.

Sally: It seems like you’re the one that he’s affecting because it’s not me. Not in any way that matters anyway.

Nick: Look, I can’t go through this again. I don’t want to.

Sally: What are you saying? If you’re taking an antidepressant

Nick: No, you’re not. Every instinct I have is telling me you’re not.

Sally: So what? It’s just my word against your instincts?

Nick: Yeah, pretty much.

[ Sally scoffing ] Look, I’ve been fighting this feeling for a long time that adam is the one you really want to be with and that’s never not going to be true. Even if we’re together, if adam’s with someone else, there is this pull between the two of you and it is always there. Yeah, I was in the middle of it for a while. It worked. We were happy. At least, I thought we were.

Sally: We were, we are.

Nick: But then all hell broke loose. You lost ava and I was fighting to save my daughter’s life and that means I couldn’t be there for you when you needed me most. But adam was. And after you got done blaming him for ava, it’s like the two of you were two broken pieces that got glued back together. And there wasn’t anything that was gonna tear you apart. Not even my love for you, sally, which is so obvious to me now.

Sally: But I choose you.

Nick: Do you? For how long? Are you just delaying the inevitable?

Sally: It’s like I’m– I’m saying the words and you’re not hearing them. Like you’re just listening to the version that you made up instead.

Nick: I think that kiss tapped into some emotional truth for you.

Sally: No, nick, you’re wrong.

Nick: Listen to me, I’m not wrong. You just refuse to see it right now. And until you do, I can’t be with you.

Victoria: I don’t need to be protected, nate.

Nate: Of course. That didn’t come out right. I am well aware that you are more than capable of handling whatever comes your way. I just meant that I’m here for you, okay? I’m your second in command, your partner, your sounding board. Whatever you need me to be. And a difference of opinion doesn’t make that any less true. Are we good? Look, I need to head back to the office for a conference call. Ride with me.

Victoria: No, you go ahead. I’ll see you later.

Nate: Okay. I’ll see you later.

Claire: I’ll take care of this right away.

Nikki: Excellent.

Audra: I am pleased to report that the tactic worked. Our negotiation with the podcast network is moving forward.

Nikki: Well done. And to you too, claire.

Claire: Oh, I just threw out a suggestion, audra made it work. And I’m sure it’s not anything you didn’t already know.

Audra: We all need a reminder sometimes.

Nikki: Well, I have a meeting with the finance team, so I will see you ladies later.

Claire: I hope you don’t think I crossed a line.

Audra: Of course not.

Claire: It’s just nikki asked me, so–

Audra: Claire, it’s fine. We’re te and I believe, uh, good ideas can come from anywhere. You know, if no one listened to me when I started, I wouldn’t be where I am. So, first day… how do you think it’s going?

Claire: This is my dream job. I just– I hope I can prove myself. Meet nikki’s expectations. And yours, of course.

Audra: Yeah, I’m sure you will. We’re all very happy to have you here.

Claire: Thank you. That means a lot. Just keep up the good work. I think this will be a very exciting time for all of us.

Adam: Pops.

Victor: Hey, son.

Adam: How’s your day going so far?

Victor: Yeah, all right. Are you comfortable in your new job?

Adam: Uh, not by a long shot. I’m not used to being someone’s assistant, obviously. But you did give me the bottom of the ladder because I asked for it, so I’m working hard trying to anticipate nate’s every move.

Victor: You know, I gotta be honest with you. I– I didn’t think you could pull it off.

Adam: Well, how you like me now?

Victor: Well–

Adam: Am I passing your test?

Victor: That’s too soon to judge, you know. Give it a little time.

Adam: Yeah, I guess it is early days for that. I will say, it is an interesting exercise though. Being on the, uh, background doing the grunt work. It’s a lesson on how to treat my own assistant if I climb up the ladder again.

Victor: Anything specific?

Adam: Well, how about this? I’ll have my dry cleaning delivered instead of telling my assistant to pick it up.

Victor: Well now, that’s a hell of a lesson to have learned, okay?

Adam: Yeah, like you said though, it’s a little too early to tell if I’m gonna make it to the other side of this.

Victor: Definitely.

Adam: There’s still time for me to fail. Start lashing out again.

Victor: Son, I just hope that you won’t, you know, indulge in your slash-and-burn habits again. I mean, I’d be very disappointed to know that I’d wasted my time. Some luxury creams just sit on top of skin.

Claire: Oh, audra. Is there anything I can do for you while I’m waiting for nikki to come back?

Audra: Oh, no thanks. I’m fine for now.

Claire: All right. Well, I’ll be at my desk. Don’t hesitate to let me know if you think of something.

Audra: Of course.

Nate: Adam, there you are. Hello, victor.

Victor: Hey, nate. You need something?

Nate: I do. Uh, my assistant. I’d like you to sit in on a conference call.

Adam: Well, you got it, boss.

Victor: Well, all right. And nicholas do a good job.

Adam: That’s funny.

Victor: What?

Adam: Is that a joke? Now that I’m falling in line, just like my brother.

Victor: What are you talking about? You have a good day, guys.

Victoria: Well, let’s see. He set up nick and sharon and adam with their own business, and then he changed the rules on them before they even had a chance to get it off the ground. He let adam’s blackmail scheme go unpunished and then later, he fired him. And then, he went forward with the merger plan that he told adam was a no-go two weeks earlier. He offered sally this great job at a new division at newman enterprises and then he ripped the rug out from underneath her five minutes later.

Nikki: Okay. You know what I think? I think that you are taking some of your father’s decisions out of context. It is his company. He’s allowed to change his mind and do whatever he wants to with it.

Victoria: Of course, but he’s doing it so erratically. Can you not see that? There’s no rhyme, no reason to some of the choices that he’s made. No sound business sense whatsoever. It’s like these decisions are more about him flexing his corporate muscle just to show that he can. And putting people in their place, sometimes just to be vindictive. I’m saying that our father’s behavior is not normal. I mean, you– you’ve even agreed with me. You said that he’s not acting like himself. He’s usually so strong and decisive, not all of this back and forth and constantly changing his mind. And yes, I’m sure adam is partly to blame. When isn’t he? But there’s more to it.

Nick: Are you really that concerned with dad’s decision-making right now? Or are you just using this as an excuse to get your job back?

Victoria: Really, nick? Really? Do you think that I would use my concern for our father as some sort of a power play? Have you forgotten about his past medical issues? I mean, yeah, sure, he can– he can pound on a punching bag all day long, but this is about more than just his physical strength. This is about his mind too.

Nick: Look, whether your concern for dad is genuine or not, dad’s gonna see it as sour grapes. It’s the way it’s gonna be. He’s gonna see this as some ploy to get your job back. Can you imagine the fury that is going to rain down upon you if you ever suggest to our father he’s incapable of running the company that he built?

Victoria: Then what should I do about it?

Nick: You need to let mom deal with it, right? And just accept the fact that you’re not in the top spot right now. And be cool to him. Keep that father-daughter peace if you ever hope to get your position back someday.

[ Victoria exhaling ]

Victoria: Oh, hey.

Nick: Hey.

Victoria: Um, do you have a– a few minutes?

Nick: Sure. Everything okay?

Victoria: I was just wondering if you have had any time to spend with dad since we last talked.

Nick: No. Why do you ask?

Victoria: Well, I was hoping that you finally had the chance to notice what’s really obvious to me, that dad is just off his game.

Nick: Look, vic, I’ve told you. You’re imagining things that simply aren’t there. Dad came back to newman and he took your job.

Victoria: No, you’re wrong. He’s not himself.

Nick: You’re just bitter, vic.

Victoria: No, I’m not. I’m– I’m on an island. I’m alone. I– I– I feel like I’m isolated in an office full of people. Some of whom are my own family, one of whom I’m dating.

Nick: What do you mean by that?

Victoria: Look, um, nate and I just aren’t seeing eye to eye right now. He agrees with you that I shouldn’t be concerned with dad. And mom has gone off to newman media. She was my right hand. I mean, I miss working with her very much. One brother has left me in the lurch and the other’s just– you’re right, okay? You’re right. What dad did hurt, but that doesn’t mean that I’m imagining that dad is not the leader that he used to be.

Nick: Okay. Uh, what can I do?

Victoria: Reconsider. Come back to newman.

Nick: Vic, come on.

Victoria: Is working with sharon really that much better than working with me?

Nick: All right. That’s not fair and you know it.

Victoria: Okay. Well, then what are you doing? Are you trying to prove a point to dad and to all of us that you can walk away from newman whenever you want? I mean, if that’s all this is, then I think you’ve made that point already. Please, nicholas, I need you. I don’t trust adam, obviously. And I’m– I really am scared for our father. Would you please come back home?

Nate: Has that ever happened before? I know that parents with multiple children sometimes say one name when they mean another, but–

Adam: He’s never called me anything but adam. Or “my boy” or “son.” Or some kind of derogatory term I’m probably blocking out, but he has never called me nicholas before.

Nate: So, he was distracted and got mixed up. Victoria thinks stress–

Adam: No, he wasn’t mixed up. I mean, come on victor newman.Th was some kind of dig.

Nate: Or just a slip of the tongue. We all do it.

Nikki: What was a slip of the tongue?

Adam: Victor, he just, uh, confused me with nick.

Nick: Look, vic, I am always in your corner, all right? You can count on me, no matter what. I hope you know that. But it’s gonna have to be from outside newman towers.

Victoria: Okay. Will you at least think about it? Even if the c-suite is a no-go, I understand. But will you at least spend some time with dad so you can see what I’m talking about? I’m genuinely worried about him, nick.

Nick: All right, I’ll check it out. I’ll do what I can.

Victoria: All right. Thank you.

Nick: I love you.

Victoria: I love you too.

Nick: Listen to me. I’m not wrong. You just refuse to see it right now. And until you do, I can’t be with you.

[ Sally sighing ]

[ Phone chiming ]

Nikki: Is everything all right, darling?

Victor: Hi, sweetheart. Why do you ask?

Nikki: Well, I ran into adam outside and he said that you called him by the wrong name.

Victor: Yeah, I called him nicholas.

Nikki: So, you knew you did it?

Victor: Yeah, it was intentional.

Nikki: Intentional? Why on earth would you do such a thing?

You guys come here way more than the rest of us. Yeah, I know. That’s true. But I just — it’s — it’s been a while since I’ve been back. You should have joined us, dad. The water was so warm. I feel totally refreshed. Well, I’m just happy you enjoyed it, but I’ll check it out later ’cause I need to drink my morning coffee. You know how that goes. What’s this? Oh, that’s nothing. Michael, our dad’s in love. Thank you. It’s finally happening. Sonny: Maybe we wound up in this town for a reason. Maybe it’s our chance for happiness. You don’t think we owe it to ourselves to give it a shot? Who knows? It might be the start of something big. I can’t even put into words how incredibly grateful I am that the judge is considering me for a hardship release, which, if he grants, it means an early parole. Right. Good for you. It truly is a miracle that the court is going to take my age and fragile health into account. But they can’t just go on my word telling them that I don’t have the physical capacity to harm anyone. They need a doctor’s opinion, someone who is familiar with my medical history. So, again, thank you, dr. Gatlin-holt, for coming here to speak on my behalf. Sure. Yeah. Right. I mean, once I figured out what was at stake, I didn’t really have a choice, did I? I don’t think you want to be banging on those pipes, making so much noise. You should know — this basement — crawling with rats and cockroaches. I really don’t think it’s the type of place you want to be in your bare feet. You sick son of a bitch. How dare you hold me in these disgusting conditions. It’s inhumane! I’m sorry. I would have loved to put you up in a place more posh. Even for at least my own comfort. But unfortunately for both of us, you really pissed my boss off when you double-crossed us and you let sonny know what we were up to. That was a big mistake. Okay. Okay. Hold on.

If he’s out of town, why wouldn’t he want his bodyguard with him? That doesn’t make sense. Well, uh, sonny and nina flew to puerto rico. Oh. He wants to show her the island property. I’m only surprised it took this long. It’s — it’s a little more than showing off the island property. What do you mean? Sonny and nina flew to puerto rico to elope. I have not finished writing my vows. Well, read them to me and michael, and we’ll give you our feedback. Yeah. I appreciate the offer, but you’re not gonna hear the vows until nina hears the vows. Speaking of your wife-to-be, it’s her first time on the island. What does she think? Well, she wanted to, like, sleep in separate rooms last night. Why? What do you mean, why? Because she didn’t — she didn’t want to see me until she sees me at the altar. I-I think that’s very sweet, dad. She don’t want to risk, you know, any bad luck at our wedding. Before I become your second mommy, there are two very important things that I need you to help me with today. Okay! Okay. I need you to think about this. Will you be my flower girl? Yes! I can do it!

[ Laughs ] I was a flower girl at willow and michael’s wedding. I know! I know! Your dad told me. He even showed me pictures. You were so great. He was so proud of you. Wiley told me that you’re willow’s mommy. Yeah. Wiley is correct. I am willow’s mom. After you get married, is willow going to be my sister? Well, yes, in a way, she will be your sister, but I think it’s simpler to think that we will all be one big family.

It’s really, really bad luck for the groom to see the bride before the ceremony on the wedding day, so your mission is to make sure that your daddy does not see me too soon. Willow. Warden garten: It isn’t cyrus renault’s first day at pentonville, but it is his first day as a model prisoner. I’m often dubious of people who claim to find religion, but in mr. Renault’s case, it seems to certainly have made him a better person. He’s been a good example to his fellow prisoners, and he truly has earned a position of trust. Medically speaking, cyrus renault is still recovering from his heart attack, a heart attack that has done irreparable damage to his heart and left him extremely weak. I do not believe that he is physically a threat to anybody. In fact, if he were to remain in custody without proper and adequate medical care, he could become debilitated, vulnerable to attack himself, unable to defend himself. So it’s your contention that if cyrus renault is released back into society he could not harm another person? Yes. That is what I believe.

You know, we’re at a destination wedding on a gorgeous island. Don’t you think you want to take a little time to take that in instead of being buried in your phone? That is ironic coming from you. Where’s dad anyway? Oh. Uh, yeah. You know him. Even though this is supposed to be a stripped-down elopement, he still wants everything to be perfect, so, of course, he’s at the chapel making sure everything is ready to go. It’s my wedding day. We both know it’s not…my first. I’m just praying that it… it’s my last. When nina came into my life… …I didn’t know who I was. She made me feel whole again. And I started to believe that if… even if I didn’t remember my past, that my present life would be enough. And then a miracle happened. I remembered who I was. I remembered my children. Hope: My father and your mother together. This– this is insane.

Finn: No, I– I know. I– I couldn’t believe it when they told me.

Hope: Okay, my dad said that he is in love with sheila. In love. I mean, that doesn’t just happen overnight. They clearly must have been carrying on like this for a while and kept it a secret. I mean… what is my dad thinking?

Sheila: It’s kind of a relief our kids know, don’t you think?

Deacon: I think I’m feeling a lot of things. Relief isn’t one of them.

Sheila: Okay, I mean, finn and– and hope, we knew that they were going to be upset by this. There wasn’t anything that was ever gonna change that. I gotta tell you, my big takeaway from all of this is their reaction to our relationship proves that our– our children love us.

Deacon: That’s your big takeaway?

Sheila: Never underestimate the power of love, deacon. Wouldn’t it be something if our relationship is actually something that brings our families together?

Deacon: Yeah, that would be something.

Ridge: Mm.

Brooke: Ah. If we keep this up, we’ll never get any work done.

Ridge: I’m just a simple man. With a woman like you, I can do anything.

Rj: I’m just gonna pretend I didn’t see the letter of resignation.

Luna: Rj, please. It’s for the best.

Rj: Luna, I’m not gonna let you walk out that door.

Brooke: So, you’re still confident that you’re going to win the design challenge?

Ridge: Yeah, I am. And sometimes, I wish I weren’T.

Brooke: Because of rj?

Ridge: Yeah. I don’t wanna destroy his confidence. And I get it, no one just walks up to the plate and hits a home run the first time, even with eric forrester coaching you. I just– I sometimes wish he were working with me, you know?

Brooke: Mm.

Ridge: Maybe save him for what’s to come.

Rj: You told me that it’s a family matter. Come on, let me– let me help you. Let me see what I can do.

Luna: Being here with you at forrester, I mean, it was too good to be true. And listen, it means the world to me that you want me to stay, but… it can’t happen. It’s better for everyone if I just go, okay? Just please trust me on this.

Rj: I trust you. Of course, I trust you. I want you just to trust me.

Luna: Rj, please. I have to go.

Rj: Please, just tell me what’s going on, okay? Please, just open up to me.

Sheila: Tell me what you’re feeling. I mean, seriously, don’t you feelerhaour children know about us?

Deacon: I feel like I just pulled the pin on a hand grenade.

[ Sheila laughs ] I think we ought to wait ’til the dust settles before we tell anyone about the engagement. It might push ’em right over the edge. I mean, love is one thing, but marriage?

Sheila: All right, I– I’m fine with keeping things under wraps a bit longer. But I’m serious! I really think our relationship could be what brings us all closer together. One big, happy family. I can see it.

Deacon: How many? ‘Cause I think you might need glasses.

Sheila: Just stop.

Hope: Seriously, uh, thank you for making me go see my dad because I cannot believe this. I mean, he’s in love with a legitimate psychopath. I just don’t understand what my dad could– could possibly see in her. I mean, he is endangering everybody by doing this. I mean… I can’t let him go through with this. I can’t let him do this.

Sheila: What?

Deacon: I just never pegged you for a glass is half full kinda gal. You are, though, aren’t you?

Sheila: You know what? You’ve got to work towards something or– or what’s the point? I’ve never been accused of giving up without a fight.

Deacon: Truer words have never been spoken.

Sheila: I’m so happy. I– I’m free. I found love and I’ve got you and the children.

Deacon: The children… you really think that our relationship can be the glue that will hold our families together?

Sheila: I’ll tell you what. More and more, I am certain of it. I– I can see it.

Deacon: I don’t want you to be disappointed. You know, reluctant acceptance might be the best that we can expect.

Sheila: Deacon, deacon. How many times have I told you to not doubt me? I’m a fighter, remember?

Deacon: Damn straight I do. That’s one of the things I love the most about you. Come here.

Sheila: Now, that’s my daddy.

Finn: Sorry, I didn’t give you a heads up. I just thought that should be something you hear directly from your dad. It didn’t feel right for me to drop that bomb on you.

Hope: No, I get it. I don’t blame you for anything. I mean, obviously, my dad knew how I was going to react, ’cause he kept it quiet. So, I don’t know if I should be furious with him or terrified for him.

Finn: I think we’re just both still in shock. I mean, our parents claim to be in love. I mean, I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to wrap my head around that.

Hope: Well, this entire situation is just dangerous, and my dad somehow thinks that his love has– has changed sheila magically somehow. I mean, I–

Finn: Well, no one could change sheila. I got the scars to prove it.

Hope: I– I’m– I’m going to tell my mom. Yeah. I’m– I’m going to tell her about this because she– she’ll know what to do.

Brooke: Rj is going into this cutthroat fashion industry and I think he’s going to be facing a lot more challenging situations than working with his granddad. So, we can’t baby him or else he will be eaten alive.

Ridge: I know that. You’re right. Every designer has to find his own path, his own ideas and I think– I think rj is on his way. He’s designing now. It’s one of the proudest moments of my life.

Brooke: I know you wanna work side by side with him and I’m sure you will one day, but right now, what he needs is probably to work with his granddad instead of his father.

Ridge: Yeah. I see a lot of myself in him when I was his age. I just– I want him to know that he’s loved, that he’s supported and that we will do anything to help him succeed, right?

Brooke: Of course. Of course.

Rj: Whatever it is, luna, you can– you can tell me. All right? Please let me help.

Luna: Okay. Okay, you’re right. I have been keeping something from you.

Rj: What is it? Here, come on. Let’s sit down.

Luna: Um, these past few weeks have been, like, the best of my life.

Rj: Well, then why do you wanna leave?

Luna: My mom didn’t know that I was interviewing for a job here, so when I had decided to come to L.A. And follow my dreams, I– I knew that I had to do it on my own.

Rj: Why?

Luna: Because she’d be worried about me. She didn’t want me to put myself in A… bad situation.

Rj: Luna, how could working here put you in a bad situation? I don’t– I don’t get it.

Luna: There’s someone in my family who wouldn’t want me to be here, who wouldn’t approve. My aunt.

Rj: Your aunt? Does she work at forrester?

Luna: No, but–

Rj: No?

Luna: Um… your sister’s mother-in-law? That’s my aunt li and she’s the reason why I wrote the letter of resignation. I don’t know, she just– she doesn’t want me here. If your moderate to severe crohn’s disease

Deacon: Okay, then, so… we’re in agreement. We’ll keep the news about our engagement quiet for the time being.

Sheila: [ Sighs ] Oh, as much as I wanna scream it from the rooftops, I just, I think it will freak finn and– and hope out.

Deacon: Yeah, and the rest of L.A.

Sheila: Okay, so we will just keep our wonderful news for another day.

Finn: Hey, just be prepared ’cause, I mean, once you tell your mom about sheila and deacon, all hell’s gonna break loose.

Hope: No, I know. But thank you for telling me, finn, and giving me the heads up. I mean, you’re the only person in the world who knows what this feels like.

Finn: Look, sheila’s all love and sunshine now, but we know how she can turn if she feels threatened.

Hope: And that’s what I’m worried about. I want to keep my dad out of harm’s way, but my mom does have a way of getting through to him. Maybe she can talk some sense into deacon and put a stop to this– this insanity between our parents before it goes too far.

Luna: My aunt li was just here and she was so furious. She made me write that letter.

Rj: I can’t even believe this.

Luna: I know, I’m sorry. You shouldn’t be dragged into this.

Rj: No, I just– I- I just don’t understand. It doesn’t make any sense.

Luna: I should’ve been honest with you from day one, but, I don’t know, I guess I was just so happy about getting this job and… I should’ve told you about my connection to finn and your sister.

Rj: No, it’s just I don’t understand why li doesn’t want you to work here. I mean, I feel like she’d be really happy for you.

Luna: Well, li is extremely protective of finn. She sees forrester as a– as a place for him, for your family. Not for me and my mom.

Rj: Why?

[ Luna sighing ]

Luna: My aunt li and my mom, they have a very difficult relationship. I mean, she’s always been so hard on my mom and even though they’re sisters, they’re… I don’t know. They’re very different people. Do you remember that phone call that made me really upset?

Rj: Yeah.

Luna: That was my mom.

Rj: Well, what’d she say?

Luna: Uh, my mom told me that I should leave forrester immediately. That she was afraid of something like this happening, that aunt li would find out that I was working here and everything would come crashing down.

Rj: I’m just– I’m so sorry that you’ve been dealing with this alone.

Luna: I feel terrible for keeping this from you. Listen, I really don’t wanna cause any trouble. I think it’s best if I just leave. This isn’t charmin!

[ Sheila chuckling ]

Deacon: What?

Sheila: Aside from rubbing your thigh, I am enjoying this incredibly peaceful moment because it’s only a matter of time before brooke comes knocking on that door.

Brooke: Sounds like the invites were creating quite a buzz from what katie said. A special engagement featuring forrester couture’s latest collection, available for same-day purchase. Who wouldn’t be excited about that?

Ridge: Little do they know, they are just there to settle a score between father and son. Winner takes all.

Brooke: Well, I’m not gonna lie, I am excited.

Ridge: You’re excited?

Brooke: Mm-hmm.

Ridge: Even though you know I’m going to win?

[ Brooke giggling ]

Brooke: Oh, honey.

Ridge: Hey.

Brooke: Hi. Are you okay?

Hope: No. I saw finn earlier.

Ridge: What’s going on? This have something to do with steffy and the kids?

Hope: No. I, um… sorry, I think I’m still processing. I’m in shock.

Ridge: Well, take a breath. What are you talking about? What’s going on?

Hope: Okay, so– so finn actually came to visit me here earlier and he said that there was something weighing on him and he needed to tell me something and– and then all I could get out of him was that I needed to go see dad.

Brooke: Deacon? Is– is everything all right?

Hope: Well, I went to go to his apartment to find out for myself and it turns out, um… [ Clears throat ] Dad is seeing someone. He’s in love.

Ridge: In love?

Brooke: Wha– what? I– I didn’t even know he was dating.

Hope: Yeah. Well, it was news to me, too.

Brooke: Well, have you seen her?

Hope: Yeah, she was actually at the apartment and, um… I can’t believe I’m about to say this and these words are about to come out of my mouth, but the woman that dad is involved with… is sheila carter.

Luna: I’m really sorry I didn’t tell you I was related to li. I hope you haven’t lost faith in me.

Rj: Why would I lose faith in you?

Luna: Because I kept something from you? From the day I was being interviewed. I– I wasn’t trying to be dishonest. I’m gonna go. My– my mom was right. I– I should not have come to L.A.

Rj: No. Luna, your mom was not right, okay? And I wouldn’t think any less of you because you didn’t tell me that li is your aunt.

Luna: You wouldn’t?

Rj: No! Of course not. What I feel– I just feel bad that you’ve been going through all of this on your own. I– I don’t understand. Why is li so disapproving of you working here? I feel like she should be proud of you. You– you got this job completely on your own. You didn’t even use your connections to get here. That’s– that’s just impressive.

Luna: No. You don’t understand. You didn’t hear aunt li earlier. She will not be happy if I stay here.

[ Rj scoffing ]

Rj: Aunt li does not get a say, okay? ‘Cause this is your life. This isn’t aunt li’s life. These are your opportunities. You’ve– you earned your place here! You are a beautiful, intelligent woman. You can make those choices for yourself. Listen, there is something that is so special about you, okay? I know we’re just getting to know each other, but I really don’t want this to end, all right? And I don’t care what li says. You’re not leaving forrester. You hear me?

Alex sits at home, reading an article in the Spectator about him being Victor’s long-lost son until Justin shows up at his door. Alex asks what he’s doing there. Justin asks if a father can’t visit his son.

Constantine from Greece arrives at the Kiriakis Mansion and introduces himself to Maggie as a lifelong friend of Victor’s. Constantine says he came to offer his apologies for the loss of a great man as he can only imagine how hard it must be for Maggie and her family.

Brady talks to Theresa on the phone and says Tate is fine, settling in the guest room. Brady hangs up as Chloe shows up at the door. Chloe informs Brady that she came to say goodbye as she is leaving Salem.

Philip and Belle sit together in the Brady Pub. Philip informs Belle that he’s leaving Salem with Chloe and he knows it’s sudden. Belle comments that he just got back and asks if he and Chloe are back together. Philip clarifies that they are just friends but admits he still has feelings for Chloe. Belle asks if Chloe still has feelings for him which Philip confirms. Philip notes that Chloe just ended things with Xander, so he doesn’t want to get ahead of himself. Philip states that going to New York is about both of them getting a fresh start. Philip insists they will be back and that Belle and Shawn can visit anytime they want. Belle informs Philip that is not going to happen because she doesn’t know where things stand after Shawn cheated on her.

At the police station, Shawn makes a call about needing to get his life back on track after all the mistakes he made. Talia then arrives and sees Shawn.

Brady questions if Chloe is moving to New York because of what happened with Xander. Chloe says yes and no, but that was definitely part of the decision. Chloe feels like she needs to hit reset and be close to her son Parker. Brady mentions how he and Theresa don’t agree on much but they do agree that it’s nice to have Tate with them. Chloe asks how that’s going. Brady says Tate is a teenager but they are working through it. Chloe says it will be good for Tate to be around Brady. Chloe then informs Brady that she is leaving tomorrow morning with Philip which surprises him.

Philip questions Belle about Shawn cheating on her with his partner’s sister. Belle notes that Shawn said it only happened once as a drunken fling and she believes him cause he has no reason to lie. Philip asks if they are trying to work things out. Belle responds that they are not because there’s no point as she doesn’t think there’s anything they can do to get things back on track. Belle thinks that her marriage may be over.

Shawn asks if Talia is looking for Jada. Talia informs him that she actually came to see him because she figured they should talk since Belle knows about them now. Talia asks if Shawn thinks Belle will be able to forgive him. Shawn doesn’t know and says Belle has put up with a lot from the past couple months, but this might be her breaking point.

Alex and Justin have beers together. Justin says he just wanted to state the obvious that Alex is still his son in every way that counts and nothing will change that, so he hopes Alex feels that way too. Alex responds that he does and apologizes for not reacting well when he first found out the truth. Alex says now that he’s had time to process it, he needs Justin to know that he loves him very much and he’s grateful for him and his brothers. Justin is relieved to hear him say that as they hug. Justin then asks Alex what about Maggie since he heard that he took her spot as CEO of Titan. Alex confirms that he did because he’s Victor’s heir. Justin asks if that means Alex will be staking his claim to the family home next.

Maggie comments on her home feeling empty without Victor. Constantine knows how much Victor loved and cherished her. Maggie is sure he didn’t come all this way just to share his condolences. Constantine states that a letter or phone call felt too impersonal but reveals that he has something for her.

Talia tells Shawn that she’s so sorry that he has to go through this and encourages that maybe he and Belle can move past this. Shawn says it’s a lot more complicated. Talia hates the thought that she’s the one that ended his marriage. Shawn responds that the marriage was on shaky ground since before Talia entered the picture, so if this is the end, the blame falls squarely on him.

Belle tells Philip that some people would say she had this coming, like Jan Spears or Sami. Philip calls Jan a jealous psychopath and says Sami wouldn’t want her marriage to fall apart. Belle brings up that when she slept with EJ, Sami warned her that karma would bite her in the ass one day. Philip says who cares what they think. Belle says they are right and points out that she cheated on Shawn with EJ and with Philip. Philip argues that they weren’t married then and they were practically kids while Shawn and Belle were separated when she slept with EJ. Belle brings up the guy in Maine as well. Philip insists that Shawn has not been sitting around waiting to even the score and urges her not to give up on her marriage. Philip states that Shawn’s in a dark place now but she can help him through it and insists that she go talk to him which Belle agrees to do. Belle asks if she will see Philip again before he leaves for New York. Philip admits probably not. Belle tells him that it’s been really nice having him back after all this time and she’s so proud of him for getting his life back together. Philip states that Shawn can do it too and tells her to go tell that jerk that she still loves him. Belle then hugs Philip.

Brady asks if Chloe is giving Philip another chance. Chloe clarifies that they are moving to New York at the same time but they are not a couple. Brady feels there’s a chance they could end up getting together. Chloe admits it could happen since he still loves her and she still has unresolved feelings for him. Chloe understands how Brady would think she’s crazy to even consider that after all that Philip put them through, but she hopes that Brady trusts her to make the right choices. Brady tells Chloe that all he’s ever wanted is for her to be happy. Brady says he shouldn’t be surprised since she and Philip were high school sweethearts and you never really get over your first love. Chloe doesn’t think that’s true but Brady does because she was his first love and he doesn’t think he will ever really get over her.

Constantine presents Maggie with a box which includes a photo album that belonged to his parents. Maggie looks through it and sees old photos of Victor when he was young. Constantine says their families were very close. Maggie thanks him for letting her see this. Constantine says it’s hers to keep and he hopes it gives her comfort. Maggie calls it a special gift and asks how she could ever repay him. Constantine brings up that Victor loaned him money when he started his restaurant and would never let him pay him back. Constantine considers them even and calls Maggie’s smile payment enough.

Alex argues that Justin is making it sound like he just kicked Maggie to the curb but points out that he offered to let Maggie stay on and work for him which is more generous than when she fired him. Justin asks if this was payback which Alex denies. Alex repeats that he’s Victor’s heir and he knows the business, so he belongs at the top of the company. Alex acknowledges that Maggie and Victor loved each other and he would never do anything to intentionally hurt her. Alex states that he was sincere in offering her a job. Alex adds that Victor left half of the mansion to him but the other half to Maggie and he doesn’t want to give Maggie the boot. Justin apologizes for coming off accusatory as he didn’t know how it all went down. Alex understands and jokes that it’s not like he’s suddenly swimming in gold coins after finding out Victor is his dad. Alex says he’s still him and he’s just trying to come to terms with this new reality like everyone else.

Philip questions Kate pretending she doesn’t see him at the Pub. Kate comments on wishing he was smart enough not to get ensnared in Chloe’s web again.

Brady wants Chloe to know that he’s sorry for everything. Chloe responds that he has nothing to apologize for. Brady brings up the hell that Kristen and Rachel put her through. Chloe understands that he tried his best in an impossible situation. Brady feels his best wasn’t good enough because now they are saying goodbye. Chloe assures that she doesn’t regret a single moment of their time together. Brady brings up the times that Kristen threatened her. Chloe tells Brady that sitting here as friends, she’s so grateful for all of it and says Brady will always be in her heart. Brady says she will be in his as well as they hug.

Talia tells Shawn that they both made bad decisions as they were both hurt. Shawn agrees it was a recipe for disaster. Talia encourages Shawn to give himself the same grace that he’s giving her. Talia calls him a great guy and says everybody knows that except for him. Talia holds Shawn’s hand as Belle arrives and says she hopes she’s not interrupting. Belle says she needs to speak to her husband, so Talia quickly exits. Shawn informs Belle that Talia came to apologize. Belle says she’s not here to talk about Talia but about them. Belle tells Shawn that she’s hurt and she hates what he did, but she would like to try to forgive him and get this behind them so they can try to save their marriage.

Chloe tells Brady that she better get going if she’s going to leave tomorrow since she has so much packing to do. Brady tells her that he’s going to miss her. Chloe cries that she will really miss him too. Brady tells her to give Philip his best. Brady says he wants Chloe to have the best life and if she can find it in her heart to forgive Philip, he must be on the right track.

Kate tells Philip that Chloe is the reason that he was in a mental hospital halfway across the world. Philip argues that Chloe didn’t do anything wrong. Kate remarks that she never does but the people who get involved with her end up with their life in ruins. Philip says that’s not true while Kate brings up that Philip did terrible things because Chloe made him crazy. Philip points out that he’s better now. Kate questions why risking relapse by running off to New York with Chloe when he’s barely back on his feet. Kate insists that Chloe will drag him down again. Philip knows it’s easy to blame Chloe for how things went last time, but she didn’t make him do those terrible things to her and Brady. Philip adds that they aren’t running off to New York together so Kate asks what he calls it. Philip calls it two friends who share history getting a fresh start. Kate argues that what they have isn’t history but toxic baggage. Kate warns that if Philip values himself at all, he will call off this trip before it’s too late.

Constantine hopes he didn’t make Maggie sad. Maggie says the photo album was beautiful and made her feel like she was getting to know a whole new side of her husband. Constantine was glad to provide a glimpse in to Victor’s past. They talk about Victor embracing life. Constantine says he should get going and mentions staying in Salem for awhile. Constantine says that Victor told him so much about Salem, so he’s excited to explore it. Maggie asks where he’s staying so Constantine asks for a motel recommendation. Maggie declares that no friend of Victor’s will stay in a motel and tells him to stay here. Constantine says he can’t impose but Maggie insists. Constantine argues that she doesn’t even know him. Maggie tells him that tonight, she’s felt closer to Victor than she has since she lost him thanks to Constantine so he will stay in Victor’s home.

Justin asks Alex if he’s going to move back in to the Kiriakis Mansion, pointing out that he does own half of it so he doesn’t think it makes sense for him to stay in a modest apartment. Alex asks if Justin wants him to move back in. Justin says it’d be nice to have him there. Alex jokes that most parents can’t wait for their grown ass kids to move out. Justin jokes that he’d be the one freeloading. Alex says he’ll think about it and asks Justin to keep an eye on things for him. Justin says there’s not much to keep an eye on, pointing out that it’s just Maggie, him, and Bonnie with a full staff. Alex repeats that he’ll think about it. Justin tells Alex that he’s proud of him for not swimming in a pool of gold coins. Justin says he’s seen how money and power can corrupt and change a person, but he can tell already that Alex isn’t letting it go to his head. Alex says he’s trying his best. Alex tells Justin to let him know if he ever starts to not recognize him which he promises to do. Justin says he has to get to work and thanks Alex for the beer as he exits.

Brady sits looking at a photo of he and Chloe on his phone. Marlena comes out and says she heard voices so she assumed he had company. Brady confirms Chloe was there. Marlena asks if he’s alright. Brady responds that he just found out that she’s moving to New York with Philip. Brady acknowledges that they’ve been over for awhile but he’s going to miss her. Marlena knows they always had a special relationship. Brady gets a text from work that shocks him.

Philip tells Kate that the plans are made and he’s going to New York with Chloe. Kate reminds him that Chloe just broke up with Xander and asks if this is not just an elaborate ploy to make him jealous. Philip assures that Chloe is done with Xander and over him. Kate calls it a mistake to believe her. Philip insists that they are taking things slow and he has no interest in how he became last time. Philip assures that he learned his lesson so she doesn’t have to worry about him but Kate says she does because she’s his mother and she loves him. Philip knows she wants the best for him. Kate thought she lost him forever and watched him struggle through the past year to come out of it, only to find out he lost his father. Philip says that if Kate and Victor didn’t help him get the best care possible, he could’ve ended up in prison or locked up in Bayview. Kate says they did what they did because they loved and believed in him. Philip says he loves her more than she realizes as they hug. Chloe then enters the Pub and greets them, saying she’s sorry to interrupt.

Shawn tells Belle that he wasn’t expecting this. Belle admits she was ready to give up, but she thinks if they put in the time, then maybe they can get through this since they’ve come this far. Belle thinks their marriage and family deserve a chance to heal. Shawn tells her how nice it is to hear her say that she wants to forgive him and to work on their marriage, but reveals that he’s not going to be there to do that.

Brady goes to see Alex and questions him quitting Basic Black to go work at Titan and having to find out about Victor’s will from Bonnie of all people. Alex says he meant to call him. Brady thinks that’s a face to face scenario. Alex agrees and apologizes, noting that things have been a little chaotic recently. Brady goes over Alex being Victor’s son. Alex says when he found out, he felt he owed it to Victor to go back to Titan to run it properly but admits he should’ve told Brady. Brady points out how he hired Alex right after Maggie gave him his walking papers. Alex tells Brady that he’s going to make it up to him and he’s already figured out how. Alex states that Basic Black’s exclusivity rights with DiMera Enterprises is ending soon, so he invites him over to Titan to make him a better deal than ever and then Brady will be part of the empire. Alex points out that it would be Victor’s son and grandson back together again. Brady remarks that first, Alex stabs him in the back and now he wants to own him. Brady declares that Alex really is Victor’s son.

Justin comes home to the Kiriakis Mansion where Maggie introduces him to Constantine as a very dear friend of Victor’s. Constantine says he’s heard so much about Justin and his family. Justin asks if he came to offer his condolences which he confirms. Maggie then adds that Constantine will be staying with them for awhile.

Kate tells Chloe that Philip just told her about their plan and if her son is happy, then she’s happy. Philip thanks her for saying that. Chloe thanks her as well. Kate is sure they have a lot of details to iron out, so she will let them get to that. Philip tells Kate that he will stop by tomorrow to say goodbye before they leave. Kate warns Chloe to be careful with Philip’s heart and walks away. Chloe notes that went better than she expected. Philip asks how it went with Brady. Chloe responds that he wished them both well which surprises Philip as he thought they’d get nothing but grief. They consider it a good sign. Philip mentions seeing Belle and that she’s not doing well as the rough patch for her and Shawn just got a whole lot rougher.

Belle questions Shawn going away. Shawn reveals that he found an outpatient rehab center near where his dad is being treated. Shawn adds that Ben and Ciara are both there and he can spend some time with his nephew. Belle says it will be good for him to be near family to look after him. Belle asks how long he’s thinking like six weeks and offers to put off some of her case load or put in a leave of absence. Shawn stops her and informs her that he’s not going to be gone for just a couple of months. Belle asks how long he’s thinking. Shawn responds that he doesn’t know, as long as it takes for him to get his head on straight. Shawn adds that he needs to do this without her.

Chloe tells Philip that she knew things were rocky but she never thought Shawn would cheat on Belle. Philip says she’s pretty messed up but he convinced her not to give up on Shawn without a fight. Chloe says she’ll be sure to check in on Belle before they leave tomorrow. Philip suggests if Belle and Shawn’s talk goes well, maybe they can all have a going away breakfast. Chloe says she would like that. Philip states that they are really doing this with no expectations or promises, but a whole lot of hope.

Belle questions Shawn not wanting her to go with him. Shawn explains that if she’s there, his focus will be on trying to save their marriage when he needs to focus on trying to save himself. Belle asks if he doesn’t think she can help. Shawn says he can’t be worried about their marriage having oxygen when he can’t breathe himself. Belle takes it as he can’t breathe when she’s around. Shawn feels he’s not saying this right and that he just needs some time away to work on his problems if they are ever going to stand a chance of rebuilding their marriage. Shawn says he’s sorry and hopes she understands. Belle says she doesn’t like it, but she gets it, but she doesn’t understand why he can lean on his mom and sister but not his wife. Shawn argues that it’s not about choosing but showing up for them and facing what he’s done. Shawn says when he left his dad and came back, he just spiraled down. Shawn adds that he didn’t see the damage he caused, but he left his mom and sister to pick up the pieces so he feels like he needs to be there with them to help himself heal. Belle asks if he will come home to her when he heals. Shawn assures that he will as he hugs her.

In the town square, Nicole tells Tate that she’s glad to see him but she knows it’s not easy moving and leaving all his friends behind. Tate mentions that he did just meet a nice girl in the park. Nicole jokes that was fast. Tate adds that he feels really stupid but she doesn’t need to hear about it. Nicole asks him about it, so Tate explains that he kind of thought the girl was in to him but she shot him down quick and it turns out that she’s in to somebody else. Nicole calls it her loss and assures that he’ll meet plenty of potential girlfriends here. Tate comments on it just being weird to be the new guy in town but notes that this girl, Holly, did give him her number. Nicole then stops him and questions if he said Holly.

Holly goes to the DiMera Mansion where she excitedly greets Johnny. Johnny talks about preparing to watch a movie. Holly sits with Johnny as Chanel comes back with popcorn. Johnny tells Chanel that Holly has joined them. Holly questions them being back together which Chanel confirms. Holly is disappointed but claims to be really happy for them. Holly then adds that she’s surprised since they got a divorce, so she thought their relationship was totally over. Johnny responds that Chanel decided to give him another shot. Holly thought Chanel was in to girls now. Chanel clarifies that she’s in to both. Holly calls that a bummer which Chanel questions. Holly then says she meant it’s a bummer for the dating pool in Salem because Chanel is such a catch. Johnny agrees and says he was lucky to catch her again, leaving Holly uncomfortable.

Marlena joins Harris in the interrogation room at the police station. Harris asks what she’s doing there. Marlena responds that she came to thank him personally as Susan filled her in on how he and Ava rescued her from Edmund Crumb. Marlena adds that Susan thinks Harris is a real hero. Harris is not sure the police would agree but thanks her. Marlena tells Harris to call her if she can vouch for him in any way. Harris appreciates that but says right now, he’s more worried about Ava because he thinks there’s a good chance that she could be sent to prison.

Ava sits at the police station as Susan arrives with EJ. Ava asks how Susan is. Susan responds that the doctor said she’s fine which Ava says she’s glad to hear. EJ adds that he is too because now Susan can finally press charges against Ava for attempted murder.

Nicole asks Tate what Holly’s last name is. Tate says she never said. Nicole asks what she looks like. Tate responds that she’s hot which Nicole jokes is not helpful. Nicole then pulls out her phone and shows a photo of Holly, which Tate confirms is her. Nicole then reveals that Holly is her daughter.

Holly tells Johnny and Chanel that she will get out of their hair but Johnny invites her to watch the movie with them. Holly says she doesn’t want to crash their date night but Chanel says the more the merrier. Johnny says to just slide over and make some room for Chanel but Holly instead sits in the middle of the couch. Johnny and Chanel awkwardly sit down on opposite sides as Holly declares that this is going to be fun.

Marlena tells Harris that Ava was already in a lot of trouble and he put a lot on the line for her. Harris asks what else he was going to do after someone tried to kill her at Bayview, so he had to step in. Marlena argues that he did more than step in as he helped Ava escape from Bayview, evade the police, and create an international rescue mission. Marlena says he did quite a bit for Ava. Harris admits one thing led to another but Ava was worried that no one would believe her side of the story and she knew EJ sent the hitwoman after her, so the only way to get EJ off her back was to prove that Susan was alive. Marlena goes over how they forged two passports and fled the country to go on the run, avoiding the police at their own risk. Harris feels like there’s a question somewhere. Marlena asks why Harris did all that for Ava.

Ava argues that she is the reason that Susan is here. EJ argues that Ava is the reason that Susan went missing for a year. Ava says she was not in her right mind when she did that, unlike EJ who knew exactly what he was doing when he sent the hitwoman after her. EJ denies that while Ava calls him a liar. EJ tells Ava to prove it. Rafe interrupts and asks what’s going on here. EJ informs Rafe that Susan is ready to make a statement about how Ava tried to kill her. Susan declares that she actually will not press charges against Ava.

Tate is shocked to learn Holly is Nicole’s daughter. Nicole acknowledges that she is all grown up and feels like it happened overnight. Tate calls it a crazy coincidence. Tate then asks if Nicole will put in a good word for him, but then says there’s no point if she’s in love with another guy. Nicole questions Holly being in love. Tate says that is what Holly said and asks if she didn’t know. Nicole confirms that Holly hasn’t mentioned anything, so she wonders who she is talking about.

Johnny pauses the movie to ask Chanel and Holly what they think so far. Holly talks about hearing of Clueless but never seeing it and thinking it was older. Johnny starts to talk about movie history but Chanel reminds him they are here to have fun. Holly tells Johnny that it’s really interesting. They joke around until Johnny chokes on the popcorn so Holly offers to get him a drink. Chanel asks for one too so Holly goes to get them waters while Chanel moves closer to Johnny on the couch.

Harris tells Marlena that helping Ava seemed like the right thing to do as she was scared and had no one on her side while he was there. Marlena feels it might have been simpler if Ava told her about Susan during her therapy sessions. Harris thinks she can understand Ava’s trust issues. Marlena points out that Ava trusts Harris. Harris states that being locked away together can bond people and admits it’s lonely at Bayview, so they became friends. Marlena asks if that’s all. Harris questions why she’s asking. Marlena says on a personal level, it’s none of her business, but as his therapist, she feels the need to caution Harris that he seems to be in denial about his feelings for Ava.

EJ questions what Susan is talking about, arguing that Ava drove her off a cliff and tried to kill her which is why she was held captive for a year. Susan argues that Ava and Harris rescued her so she’s made amends and she forgives her. Susan adds that she’d rather have Rafe focus on the mystery man that shipped her off to Edmund. Rafe assures that he’s on it. Susan tells EJ that they can go eat now. EJ asks if there’s nothing he can do to get her to reconsider which Susan confirms. Ava thanks Susan and says she has no idea what this means to her. Susan and EJ then exit the police station together. Ava asks Rafe about letting her go but Rafe tells her that she’s not out of the woods just yet.

Johnny tells Chanel that he hopes the night wasn’t too much of a bust. Chanel says it’s never a bust when she’s with him and she’s loving watching Clueless again. Johnny says he’s kind of glad that Paulina kicked them out of her place, though says it’s been a bit more lively at the DiMera Mansion with so many people moving in and out over the past year. Chanel says that includes Holly. Johnny says she’s cool though. Chanel jokes that all she has to do is not try to kill anyone. Johnny hopes his murderous family is not deterring from the point he’s getting at. Johnny wonders if Chanel would like to be the next person to move in to the DiMera Mansion. Chanel says she’s really glad they are back together and having fun, but suggests not getting ahead of themselves. Johnny proposes a compromise that maybe after the movie, they can go to his room and start practicing for when she does move in. Johnny and Chanel kiss until Holly comes back with their waters. Johnny thanks her while Chanel apologizes fro stealing her spot. Holly then pretends to trip and spills the water all over Chanel.

Tate tells Nicole that Holly didn’t mention who the guy is that she’s in love with. Nicole suggests she could’ve been joking about a celebrity crush. Tate notes that Holly said she thinks the guy feels the same way about her. Tate then gets a text from Brady and says he has to go. Tate tells Nicole it was nice seeing her and walks away. EJ then approaches and tells Nicole that he has the most amazing news and he doesn’t even know where to begin. Susan then rushes up with a corn dog and says this is what she’s missed the most. Nicole can’t believe that Susan is alive. Susan sees that Nicole is pregnant and remarks that Rafe didn’t say anything about finally becoming a daddy.

Ava questions if Rafe is seriously going to press charges against her for escaping Bayview and fleeing to London. Rafe informs her that the district attorney’s office has been a mess since Melinda was fired, so they are going to let that slide since she rescued Susan. Ava asks if it’s because she and Harris didn’t get EJ’s confession even though they tried. Rafe says it’s not that either, so Ava questions what it is. Rafe reminds Ava that she wasn’t exactly a free woman when she escaped Bayview as she was there under a court order. Ava argues that she got better and Susan is alive. Rafe declares that where she goes next is not up to him, but up to her doctors.

Harris tells Marlena that he really doesn’t want to talk about this. Marlena says she understands and she wouldn’t ask if she wasn’t his therapist, but it’s important for her to know because it affects him and his recovery. Harris admits he won’t deny that he cares about Ava and they grew close in Bayview then even closer on the run, but he doesn’t know about the kind of feelings Marlena is talking about. Rafe then brings Ava in to the room. Harris asks what’s going on. Rafe explains that Susan decided not to press charges against Ava and the district attorney is going to let everything go. Rafe says they got lucky since what they did was unlawful but it did lead to the rescue of Susan, so they are off the hook and no one’s going to prison. Harris asks if that means he and Ava are free to go, but Rafe says not quite. Ava tells Harris that they technically have to complete their court ordered stay at Bayview. Marlena states that she can make a call. Ava asks if Marlena thinks she really needs to go back since she feels she’s made so much progress. Marlena says that’s not up to her, but she’d be glad to talk to her doctors about it. Marlena then exits the room.

Nicole questions EJ not telling Susan. EJ says there was a lot going on. EJ then informs Susan that Nicole is pregnant with his child, not Rafe’s. Susan thought Nicole was married to Rafe. EJ notes that Susan has missed out on a lot since she’s been gone as he and Nicole are back together and engaged. Nicole tells Susan that it’s her future grandbaby. Susan asks if she’s sure about that because she’s not feeling a familiar connection. EJ assures her that the child is definitely his because they even did a paternity test which Susan questions why he’d have to get a test to find out if the baby was his. Nicole admits there were some issues around the time she got pregnant and she was high and so was the person she was with because of tainted biscuits. Susan asks who the other person was. EJ asks how that’s important and tells Susan to just be happy for them and the wonderful news. Susan agrees and says she’s just so happy for both of them. Susan comments that children really are a blessing.

Tate goes home where Brady questions where he’s been since he’s been texting him for hours. Tate reminds him that he wanted to get reacquainted with the town and remarks that not much has changed since he was a kid. Brady says that wasn’t long ago. Tate mentions going to the park where they used to see the ducks. Brady is surprised he remembers that. Tate tells Brady about running in to Holly there.

Holly apologizes for spilling water on Chanel and says she must hate her. Chanel says it’s fine. Holly remarks that now Chanel is going to have to go all the way home to change. Johnny disagrees and says he’s sure he can give Chanel a t-shirt and pants that fit. Chanel says she remembers where he keeps his things, so she will go upstairs and change quick then come back. Johnny tells her where everything is. Holly apologizes again. Chanel says it’s okay and she’ll be right back as she heads upstairs. Holly asks Johnny if she ruined everything. Johnny assures that it’s fine and was an accident. Johnny adds that he was just telling Chanel that he thinks Holly is really cool. Johnny comments that the DiMera Mansion has been a lot more bearable since she and Nicole moved in. Holly then asks if she can tell him a secret.

Harris guesses there was nothing on the tape that Rafe could use against EJ. Rafe says unfortunately not but thanks him for trying. Harris notes it was weird how EJ just kind of left but he just hopes that he doesn’t try to come after Ava again. Ava notes that EJ isn’t known for forgiving and forgetting which Rafe agrees with. Marlena returns, so Ava asks what her doctors said. Marlena informs her that the doctors agreed that Ava has made an amazing progress and that they were actually considering releasing her before she escaped. Marlena adds that the doctors believe Ava has learned right from wrong and is no longer a risk to society, so she is free to go. Ava can’t believe it and excitedly hugs Harris.

Holly tells Johnny that she’s been debating whether or not to keep this to herself, but maybe now is the time to speak up. Holly worries that he will think she’s crazy. Johnny promises there will be no judgment. Holly starts to tell him but Susan rushes in, shocking Johnny as they embrace. EJ and Nicole come in behind her. Johnny can’t believe it and asks how this is possible. EJ calls it a long story, but all that matters is that Johnny’s grandma is home safely. Nicole asks to speak to Holly and tells her that she spoke to Tate, informing her that he is Brady’s son. Holly admits she didn’t put that together. Nicole then asks Holly who the boy is that she’s in love with.

Brady tells Tate that Holly is a sweet girl, so he hopes they can be good friends. Brady questions if he hoped to sweep her off her feet and have her fall in love with him. Tate questions there being a problem. Brady argues that Holly is not just some girl, she’s Nicole’s daughter. Brady tells Tate that he can feel whatever he wants to feel, but he doesn’t think it’s a good idea for him to act on it right now. Tate says he’s going to his room but Brady stops him. Brady knows he’s being tough on him and apologizes, but what with happened at school, he wishes Tate was more focused on making up for that. Brady talks about the disruption caused by having to get him from California. Tate says he already apologized. Brady says sometimes that’s not enough and declares that tomorrow, he’s going to enroll at Salem High and when he’s not studying, he’s going to be working. Tate questions what he’s talking about. Brady informs him that as a favor to Theresa, Roman said Tate could work at the Brady Pub. Tate calls that so not fair as he thought Brady was joking about that. Brady insists that Tate’s going to pay back the damage he caused with his prank at school. Tate complains that it will take him forever to make that much. Brady says that’s good because it means he will stay out of trouble forever.

Rafe warns Ava that now that she’s free to go, he doesn’t want to see her back at the police station ever. Ava says normally she’d have a snarky response but promises that she plans to walk the straight and narrow. Rafe hopes she keeps that promise. Ava asks for a phone to call Tripp to pick her up and guesses she’ll need a place to stay. Rafe agrees to take Ava to his office to use the phone. Marlena then tells Harris that Bayview is willing to re-admit him if he wants her to drive him here. Harris responds that after everything he’s been through, he’s feeling good about his mental health. Marlena asks what he means. Harris explains that when he asked her to commit him, he felt he was still a danger but after all the stress of being on the run, he felt like he was back in control. Harris says with Marlena’s approval, he would like to end his stay at Bayview but keep seeing Marlena on an out patient basis. Marlena thinks that’s reasonable and agrees to make the call. Harris thanks her for everything. Marlena says she’s curious on if his decision to leave Bavyiew has anything to do with the fact that Ava will no longer be there. Harris says not at all.

Marlena goes home and hugs Tate, saying she can’t believe how grown up he is and there’s nothing like seeing him in person. Marlena says she’s so glad he’s back as Tate jokes with her. Marlena goes to set up Tate’s room and Brady goes to help her. Tate then pulls out his phone.

Holly steps out of the living room with Nicole and complains that she’s embarrassing her by being nosey about her love life in public. Nicole asks if she’s in love then. Holly claims she just made that up because Tate tried to kiss her but she’s totally not in to him, so she made up a story about a boy she was in love with to let him down easy. Nicole says that makes more sense than her not telling her that she was in love. Holly insists she would tell her if she was. Nicole feels like they have a close relationship and she would be open to telling her something that important. Holly repeats that she would. Nicole asks if she wants to go back in to the living room. Holly then gets a text message and tells Nicole to go ahead and she’ll catch up. Nicole then heads in to the living room. Holly reads her text from Tate, asking if she wants to hang out tomorrow. Holly texts back that Tate’s dead to her. Chanel comes back downstairs and asks if she’s alright since she looks upset. Holly says she’s fine. Chanel asks if something is going on in the living room. Holly tells Chanel that she’ll never believe this.

Johnny asks Susan if Ava was right that she’s been alive this whole time. Susan confirms that Ava and Harris rescued her from being chained to the floor in Edmund’s flat. Nicole thinks maybe Ava has redeemed herself which EJ calls impossible. Susan orders EJ to leave Ava alone. Johnny agrees that it’s time for EJ and Ava to wipe the slate clean and start fresh. EJ guesses he’s outnumbered and agrees to a fresh slate which Susan excitedly hugs him for.

Rafe looks at EJ’s file at the police station and says he knows he tried to have Ava killed. Rafe remarks that Ava may be off the hook but EJ is not.

Harris calls Kate and mentions hearing that Eric’s old room above the Pub is available, so he asks if Roman would take him on as a tenant. Kate thinks Roman would be happy to do that and says she’d be happy to have him as well. Harris says that’s great and thanks her. Kate says she will let Roman know and they will see him at the Pub soon as his new home. Harris says he looks forward to it and hangs up. Ava returns to the interrogation room and tells Harris that she wanted to say goodbye and thanks. Harris says no thanks required. Ava asks if Harris is heading back to Bayview. Harris reveals that he’s actually not going back and Marlena agreed to have him released. Ava calls that terrific and asks what he will do now. Harris says he came to Salem to keep an eye on Megan DiMera, but now she’s gone. Ava guesses he will leave town then but Harris says no and that he grew up in Salem and it seems like a nice place to live. Ava asks if he has somewhere to go. Harris informs her that Marlena told him that Eric moved out and Kate just agreed to rent the room to him at the Pub. Ava says that everything is working out. Ava tells Harris that she’s really glad he’s staying in Salem. Ava guesses she will see him around.

Tate told Nicole about a girl that he met that turned him down. She tried to make him feel better about what happened. He told her that her name was Holly, and she was surprised. Marlena went to see Harris at the station. She told him that Susan thought he was a hero for saving her. He didn’t think he was a hero. He was worried about Ava. Susan and EJ showed up at the station and saw Ava handcuffed to a chair. Nicole asked Tate about the girl he met. She let him know that she was her daughter. Holly was happy when she sat with Johnny until Chanel came back. Holly was disappointed when she found out that Johnny was back together with Chanel. Marlena told Harris that Ava was in trouble before they were on the lam. He wanted to help her. Harris told Marlena that Ava felt like no one would believe her so they had to prove that Susan was still alive. Marlena wanted to know why he went to so much trouble to help Ava. EJ wanted to press charges against Ava. She reminded him that she was the reason why Susan was in Salem. They started arguing until Rafe broke them up. EJ told him that Susan wanted to press charges, but Susan said she didn’t want to do that. Marlena thought Harris was in denial about his feelings for Ava. EJ reminded Susan what Ava did to her. Susan told him that Ava and Harris saved her. EJ wanted to get Susan to reconsider, but she refused to change her mind. Johnny wanted Chanel to move in with him, but she wanted to take things slowly. They started kissing and Holly walked in the room. She spilled drinks on them.

EJ found Nicole at the town square and let her know that Susan was alive. Rafe reminded Ava that she wasn’t at Bayview because of Susan. She was in trouble before that. He wasn’t sure where she would end up. The decision was up to her doctors. Harris wasn’t sure how he felt about Ava. He was talking about her to Marlena when Ava and Rafe walked in the interrogation room. Rafe let Harris know that Susan wouldn’t press charges against Ava. He let them know that they were off the hook. Ava asked Marlena if she could talk to her doctors at Bayview. EJ and Nicole told Susan about the baby. She thought Rafe was the father. Susan didn’t feel a connection to the baby. EJ assured her that the baby was his because they had a paternity test done. Susan wanted to know if Nicole was cheating on EJ. They explained what happened. Marlena talked to Ava’s doctors, and they think Ava is better. Ava was happy that she was free. Holly was about to admit her feelings to Johnny when Susan, Nicole and EJ arrived at the mansion. Nicole pulled Holly aside to find out who she loves.

Tate and Holly ran into each other. Abe saw Nicole in the town square. He recognized her and she thought he remembered her. He let her know that he didn’t remember her the way she thought. She explained how they knew each other. Theresa went to see Alex at Titan. They talked about her possibly being a gold digger. He remembered that she didn’t know that he was Victor’s son when they got together. She thought about looking at Victor’s letters. Holly offered to give Tate the drugs she had. Nicole continued to talk to Abe about how they were related. They talked about her pregnancy and Holly.

Alex thought Theresa was coming on to him to make Brady jealous. She set him straight that she was done with him. Abe confided in Nicole about his reservations about dating Paulina. Nicole gave her opinion about it. Stephaie and Chad ran into Theresa at a restaurant. Stephanie asked her to eat with them after she told them about Tate and Brady. Alex arrived so Theresa said he was her date. Theresa wanted to take Stephanie to the bathroom so they could talk. Alex told Chad about his paternity. Tate tried to kiss Holly, but she backed away. He apologized to her. He thought they would be together. She wanted to be his friend because she was in love with someone else. Abe went to see Paulina.
