Tony: Anna? Where on earth are you going?

Gwen: You want to bust me out of here?

Ava: Hey, we did it before when we helped kristen escape.

Gwen: [Sighs] What’s the catch?

Ava: There isn’t one. Look, I just– look, I know I let you down, and I’m trying to make up for it. Trying to be a friend. So you in?

Sarah: Xander?

Xander: Sarah, it’s– is it really you?

Sarah: Yeah, of course it’s me. Mom? What’s going on?

Maggie: Your voice, it–it–it’s normal. Oh, sarah, my darling. Does this mean you’re all right?

Sarah: Yeah, I’m fine, mom. Why–why do you look like you’re about to cry? Why are you both looking at me like that?

Xander: Because we– because we’re just so happy. So very happy. It worked, maggie.

Maggie: Yes.

Xander: It worked.

Maggie: Oh!

[Sarah chuckles]

Male announcer: Like sands through the hourglass, so are the “days of our lives.”

[Soft orchestration]

Xander: Look at her, maggie. She–she’s herself again.

Maggie: Thank god. Thank god we gave her that antidote.

Sarah: I–what are we talking about? An antidote?

Xander: We’ll explain everything very soon, I– I promise. But–

Sarah: What’s going on? Why– why am I in a hospital?

Xander: You were drugged, but we gave you an antidote, and thank god it worked.

Sarah: Drugged by who? Why? What?

Maggie: You know, it’s a long story, and we’ll get around to it at some point.

Xander: But all that matters right now is that you, darling sarah…

[Sighs] You’re with us again. And you’re…yourself. And we’re just– we’re just so grateful. So very grateful.

Maggie: Yes.

[Sighs]

Gwen: So first you throw me under the bus, practically ruining my life, and now you are, oh, so eager to help me. I mean, what am I missing here, ava?

Ava: Gwen, I want to help you because I threw you under the bus. I told you, I feel guilty. I feel guilty because, you know, you’re the one paying the price when the person who should be behind bars is kristen.

Gwen: Kristen is not the one who helped me switch out the antidote that would have brought back sarah. I did that all on my own. And for what? I’m– xander and I are over now anyway.

Ava: I’m sorry about that. But I get it. I mean, if anyone knows, you do, that I’ve certainly done a lot worse to hang on to the men that I love.

Gwen: Wonderful. You win that contest, okay? Now get the hell out of here and take your offer with you.

Ava: Okay, gwen, I think you need to be realistic here, all right? Gwen, you got–you got– you got no lawyer, you got no fiancé, you got no family to help you. All you got is me. But hey, if you want to languish here in prison all alone, it’s your choice.

Anna: [Small laugh] You know, darling, I– I was going through my closet and I realized that I have so many beautiful clothes that I never wear, so I just thought I’d run them down to the community center.

Tony: Ah, in a suitcase?

Anna: Is that a problem?

Tony: No, but jumping bail is. Listen, anna, I know you’re scared because your trial starts tomorrow. But that doesn’t mean you’re going to be convicted.

Anna: Oh, the heck it doesn’t, tony. Trask is out for blood. The judge is in victor’s pocket. And maggie–maggie is hellbent on making me pay for what I did to sarah.

Tony: But you just can’t take off like that.

Anna: I can and I will. I have no choice. I’m going on the lam, and there’s nothing you can do to stop me. Like pulsing, electric shocks,

Tony: You were just going to leave without even saying goodbye?

Anna: Only to avoid implicating you. Tony you can’t be caught aiding and abetting a criminal.

Tony: Oh, you’re not a criminal, anna. You’re my wife. I want to help you.

Anna: I don’t deserve your help, tony. You kept telling me that sarah horton was no threat to our marriage. That she wasn’t really renee. But I didn’t listen.

Tony: Oh, for god’s sake, listen now. You can’t just leave out that door.

Anna: Tony, I have turned sarah into…a rutabaga. And it’s now time for me to pay the piper.

Maggie: Xander… I am regretting that I didn’t consent to sarah getting the antidote sooner.

Xander: No, maggie, don’t do that to yourself. No regrets. Hey, you worried it was too risky. You’d every right to be worried under the circumstances. But sarah’s back. That’s all that matters now.

Maggie: Mmm. I have to go.

Xander: What?

Maggie: Now. There’s something I need to take care of.

Xander: Right now?

Maggie: Well, sarah’s okay. And kayla could be in there with her for a while. And this would be a good time. Call me if you need me. I promise I won’t be long.

[Soft music]

[Elevator bell dings]

Gwen: Let’s say… that I did take you up on your offer. What happens with your deal with trask?

Ava: Nothing. I held up my end of the bargain. You escape, it’s not my problem.

Gwen: Unless the cops find out that you helped me.

Ava: [Scoffs] What, rafe hernandez and his merry band of idiots? Please. Anyway, I do–I don’t see you having any better offers, so– time’s running out. Listen… if you decide to call me, here’s my number. It’s a burner phone. And remember, clock’s ticking.

[Dramatic music]

My moderate to severe plaque psoriasis…

[Phones ringing]

Jack: Gwen.

Gwen: [Sniffles] Jack– I’m–I’m sorry, I’m a bit surprised to see you. I–I thought– I thought you’d washed your hands of me for good.

Jack: I know. I led you to believe that. And truthfully, I’m sad, angry, and appalled when I think of what you’ve done in the past. And I’m sure that you know that when you hurt abigail, you hurt me. But…

Gwen: But?

Jack: You’ve had a lot of pain in your life. And I believe that’s the reason that you’ve caused a lot of pain. And I want to help you stop– stop doing that. Because–[Inhales unsteadily] In spite of it all, you’re my daughter.

[Sighs] You’re a part of me… my heart.

Gwen: [Sighs] That’s–that’s very kind.

Jack: You have it in you to do the right thing, and you know it. You proved it when you told xander where to find that antidote.

Gwen: [Sniffles]

[Sighs] It–it w–it was the least I could do. That’s an understatement, obviously. I– I hope it works. I do, I hope she recovers.

Jack: I hope so too. And I–I– I believe that you can recover too from this compulsion for revenge, and this need to get what you want, the consequences be damned.

Gwen: Are you saying that you have faith in me then, do you?

Jack: I do. And I care about you. I always have, I always will. Which is why I asked justin to represent you. And he’s on board. He’s agreed to take your case.

Gwen: Oh.

Anna: I’m sorry, tony. My mind is made up. I have to leave. So I’m sorry, but this is the end of the road for us.

Tony: Really? That’s so sad. I–it’s heartbreaking.

Anna: I know, I agree. But I really have to go. I mean, I have miles to go before I even sleep.

Tony: Oh. Well, anna, you don’t really think I was going to let you flee?

Anna: You have no choice, tony.

Tony: Oh?

Anna: Goodbye, tony. I will love you forever.

Tony: Mm. Anna–

Anna: Oh!

Maggie: Going somewhere?

Anna: [Laughs nervously] I have a very important errand to run.

Maggie: Well, I need to talk to you.

Anna: I’m sorry, maggie. It’ll have to wait.

Maggie: Anna… I really think you’ll want to hear this now. I know your trial starts tomorrow. And I’ve decided to drop the charges.

Kayla: Okay.

Xander: Uh, how are we, uh… how are we doing in here?

Kayla: Ah, well, you know, we’re all done. And I would say I am happy to report that physically and cognitively, sarah seems to be just fine.

Sarah: Sarah is just fine. So… does anyone want to tell me what drug I was injected with?

Xander: You didn’t tell her?

Kayla: Um, I didn’t– I didn’t have a chance.

Sarah: Okay, well, I don’t need to be handled with kid gloves. I’m a doctor, I can take it.

Kayla: You were given a dangerous psychotropic.

Xander: By kristen dimera.

Sarah: Kristen dimera?

Kayla: Yes, and it caused a lot of damage. Delusions, hallucinations.

Xander: You haven’t been yourself for quite some time. But…[Sighs] You’re back to normal now. Thank god.

Sarah: Okay, um… well, I have a lot of questions. Um, but for now, I will just say thank you to both of you for taking care of me.

Xander: Well, having you back is–well, it’s all the thanks we need.

Kayla: Definitely.

Sarah: Okay, well, since my exam, uh, went well, could we get the ball rolling on getting me released?

Kayla: Well, I would like to do a few new scans. Just to make sure that everything’s fine. Why don’t I just check with radiology and make sure that they can see you right now. Okay? All right, good. All righty, huh?

Xander: Oh, sarah.

Sarah: [Giggles]

Xander: [Sighs] There are no words to express what it means to be here with you now. And you’re looking so beautiful. Just being sat next to you, my– my heart is beating so hard.

Sarah: Oh, wow. It sure is.

[Laughs]

Xander: God, I missed you so much.

Sarah: You don’t have to miss me. I’m right here. And it seems like it’s been a very long time since I’ve gotten to do this.

It’s started. Somewhere between a cuddle

Xander: I just can’t believe it. It’s just so amazing to have you back in my arms again.

Sarah: [Giggles] For me it was–felt like yesterday.

Xander: I wish. I’ve been wishing. For this, for you. Ever since you left me, I– god, I can’t wait to take you home.

Kayla: Well, good news. Radiology will see you now.

Sarah: Oh.

Xander: Um, do you know how long she’ll be?

Kayla: No, I don’t know. But I know how anxious you are to get her out of here, so I will let you know as soon as I know something.

Xander: Thank you. And I’ll see you in a bit.

Sarah: I can’t wait.

Xander: [Sighs] Me neither. I’ll, uh–I’ll text maggie. Keep her in the loop as well.

Anna: You’re dropping the charges? Why?

Maggie: If gwen hadn’t switched the vials, what you did to sarah would have brought her back to us that very day. So what you did, well, it wasn’t–it wasn’t terrible at all, as it turned out.

Anna: Oh, maggie, it was terrible. Truly terrible. I was thoughtless and reckless– well, I’M… I am truly, sincerely sorry for what I put you through. And I’m so grateful that your daughter is going to be okay. Thank you for telling us. And for dropping the charges. I can’t even tell you how grateful I am.

Tony: Same here.

Maggie: Well. [Laughs] Okay, then I think I better get back to the hospital.

Tony: Oh, please give sarah our best.

Maggie: Will do. Take care.

Anna: Thank you. Oh, my god. I can’t believe it, I’m free.

Tony: So you glad you didn’t go on the run?

Anna: [Laughs] Oh, I’m so glad.

Jack: If you plead guilty, to the lesser charges, justin thinks he can get your sentence knocked down to five years.

Gwen: [Gasps] Five years?

Jack: That’s nowhere near what you’d be facing if a jury found you guilty. I’d say it’s a gift considering what you’ve done.

Gwen: Yeah, you’re right. But melinda trask doesn’t really give out gifts, especially to the likes of me.

Jack: You’d be saving the city the expense of a trial. If you agree to all this, it could be settled very quickly.

Gwen: In other words, I could be going to prison very quickly.

Jack: Gwen… this is not the end. If you make smart choices, good choices, it could be a whole new beginning. If–if you decide–[Sniffles] To accept, give justin a call. But don’t wait too long.

Gwen: Dad? Sorry, I know I don’t– I don’t have a right to call you that anymore. I just, um… I wanted to say thank you.

Jack: [Weeps]

[Sniffles]

Gwen: Oh, god. Lemons.

Anna: Oh.

[Glasses clink]

Tony: To your freedom.

Anna: [Laughs] Ah. I really am sorry, tony. I’m sorry for everything. Throughout this whole ordeal, I’ve been thinking of nothing but myself. I wasn’t ever thinking about you.

Tony: Oh, you thinking of me constantly.

Anna: Yes, but in a possessive and childish way. I know now that you only went along with sarah’s delusions because facing the truth would have been too hard for her. I was so mad with jealousy, I–I couldn’t see that.

Tony: Oh. Anna, I know that I hurt you as well, but I felt I had to help sarah. Maybe it’s because I wasn’t able to help renee all those years ago… the way her life ended so tragically, and I couldn’t stop it. I know you may not want to hear this, but… I did love her.

Anna: [Sniffles] I think that we should go down to the crypt and pay our respects to renee.

Tony: You’d do that?

Anna: For you, darling, I would do anything.

Tony: [Chuckles] Oh, thank you, anna. Thank you.

Anna: Mm-hmm.

Kayla: Okay, there you go.

Maggie: Xander texted me. He said he’d be back soon.

Kayla: Great.

Sarah: Well, just– can’t we just go home?

Kayla: Well, I want to get those test results back. In fact, I’ll go to radiology right now and, um, see how it’s going.

Maggie: Thanks.

Sarah: Thank you, kayla.

Kayla: Yeah, yeah.

Sarah: [Chuckles]

Maggie: Okay. Ooh.

Sarah: [Groans] You have no idea how bad I want to get out of this gown. And take a shower in my own bathroom.

Maggie: Mmm.

Sarah: Speaking of bathrooms, uh, I used it earlier and I– and I caught a glimpse of this. What’s with these pigtails? I haven’t worn my hair like this since I was a little girl.

Maggie: Well, um, it has gotten long.

Sarah: I’ve been here a while. Okay, well I hate these.

Maggie: Well, I could cut them.

Sarah: Really?

Maggie: Sure, why not? I used to cut your hair all the time when you were a little girl.

Sarah: Yeah, that would be fun, and a little rebellious. I like my hair so much better when it’s short. So does xander.

Gwen: [Sighs] Xander.

[Phone rings]

Xander: I, uh, saw jack outside. Told him the good news.

Gwen: [Exhales] Wh– what good news?

Xander: The antidote worked.

Gwen: That’s good. That’s really good. I’m glad you told me that.

Xander: I wanted to thank you, gwen.

Gwen: I’m really glad it worked out.

Xander: So what’s, um– what’s going on with you now?

Gwen: Oh. [Exhales] Um…my father hired justin to represent me. He says that he can get my sentence down to five years if I plead guilty to the lesser crimes.

Xander: And are you gonna do it?

Gwen: I don’t know yet.

[Sighs] But I do know this is probably– this is probably the last time you and I are gonna see one another. So there’s something I would like to say to you. With depression, you just feel…blah.

Maggie: What do you think?

Sarah: Mom, it’s perfect.

Maggie: [Chuckles lightly] You look like your old self again.

Sarah: I feel like my old self. Thank you.

Maggie: You’re very welcome. I don’t want to let go. I just, uh, imagine losing you again.

Sarah: I’m not going anywhere.

Maggie: Okay. I’m gonna hold you to that. Oh, sarah.

[Sighs] My darling girl. Oh, I’ve missed you so much. How I love you.

[Sniffles]

Gwen: Do you remember when we first met?

[Clicks tongue] I couldn’t bloody stand you.

Xander: That’s what you want to tell me?

Gwen: No, there’s more, obviously. In the beginning, I found you insufferable. You were arrogant, annoying… what an obnoxious nob you were.

[Chuckles] Then I saw another side to you. A softer side. You weren’t just some thug with no conscience and no soul. You felt. And you felt deeply. You felt deeply for me.

Xander: Look, gwen, I–

Gwen: God, you were so good to me, xander. Really, you were, you– you made so many sacrifices to protect me from my lies. Let’s see, what was there, um, disposing of a body, you went to jail, gave up $1 million, all to protect a woman so pathetic–

Xander: You’re not pathetic, gwen.

Gwen: Fine–a woman so desperate to have a relationship with her father that she just became this… hurricane of destruction. You see…

[Sniffles] When you spend your whole life deprived of any affection, and…someone walks into your life and genuinely cares about you–

Xander: You’ll do anything to hold on to them.

Gwen: You get it. You get it. You were the only one who ever got it. You are the only one who’s ever understood me. No one has ever been there for me the way that you have before.

[Sighs] And I blew it. I blew it all to hell.

[Sniffles] I mean, you gave me your heart, didn’t you xander? And, um…god, I was so afraid of losing it that I absolutely crossed the line. I did. I kept you from the woman that you truly loved. The woman who inspired you to be a better man. The woman who helped you open that beautiful heart of yours.

[Sniffles] I was wrong. And I will always, always regret it.

[Sniffles] But do you know that through… all of my mistakes… with everything that is has cost me…

[Sighs] I also received the most wonderful gift. It’s one that you gave me. The gift of love.

[Laughs] You made me realize that I am worthy of love. And more importantly…

[Sighs] You made me see that I am also capable of loving someone else too. So…

[Inhales unsteadily] My engagement ring. This belongs to you now. Although I’m really gonna miss wearing it.

[Laughs]

[Exhales heavily]

[Sniffles] I wish you happiness, xander. I do. I wish happiness for you and sarah.

Xander: Thank you, gwen. I, um, I should get back to the hospital. So, um… I guess this is goodbye.

Gwen: [Mouthing] Yeah.

[Sniffles] Goodbye, xander.

[Emotional music]

[Sobs]

Tony: Are you sure you want to go inside? I mean, with all that’s gone on here recently.

Anna: Oh, darling, I think the worst is behind us. I mean, ben and johnny are both free, your evil twin andre is, well, a pile of dust. And the devil is on the lam. So I think we have nothing to be afraid of. I think we should go in, do what we came to do, and then after that we can go back to our champagne and back to our celebration.

[Keys jingling]

Tony: Shall we?

Anna: Mm-hmm.

I’ve got moderate to severe

plaque psoriasis.

Gwen: [Sighs]

[Line ringing]

[Phone beeps]

Ava: Well, that was fast.

Gwen: You told me I don’t have much time.

Ava: Well, and I take it since you’re calling me that you decided to say yes.

Gwen: Actually, it’s a no. I wanted to phone you and thank you. Your offer has helped clarify some things for me. And, um… for the first time in my life, I’m going to take responsibility for what I’ve done. Anyway…it’s only five years in prison.

Ava: Five years. That’s not nothing.

Gwen: I have a chance to make things right. And if I take it…

[Sighs] I don’t know, I might actually have a chance of having a family. And there’s no guarantees, of course, but… if I make good choices, if I make smart choices, then this could be a new beginning for me.

Ava: Well, good luck to you, gwen.

Gwen: Thank you. I’m gonna need it.

Xander: Your hair!

Sarah: [Giggles] Mom cut it.

Maggie:[Chuckles] What do you think? It turned out fine, huh?

Xander: Oh, sarah, you look so beautiful.

Sarah: Thank you. Did you happen to see kayla when you came in?

Xander: I did. Yeah, she said she’d let us know as soon as you can leave.

Sarah: Ugh, I’m so tired of waiting.

Xander: Well, is there anything I can get for you? Something to eat?

Sarah: No. No, I’m not hungry. But there is one thing that I want desperately.

Xander: Name it.

Sarah: I want to see my baby.

[Uneasy music]

Anna: [Sighs] Well, rest in peace, renee. I know–I know it’s rather ironic, considering I never gave you a moment’s peace while you were alive. But despite everything that happened between us, I am sorry that you were taken from this world so soon, and… I do hope that you’re in a better place now. Mmm.

Tony: That was lovely, anna.

Anna: Your turn.

Tony: Are you sure?

Anna: Mmm. You can say anything you want. I’ll give you a moment.

Tony: Thank you. Hmm. Character, I’m told, reveals itself in times of adversity. We show our true colors when things in life get difficult. And they were difficult for us, weren’t they? What could be worse than finding out that the man that you were planning to marry was your brother? But you didn’t break things off because you wanted to hurt me, you broke things off because you wanted to protect me, to spare me… even though you had to carry the pain of that secret all alone. But that was the kind of person you were, renee. It may be too little, too late, but I did love you, deeply. And I’ll never forget you.

Anna: There must have been some good in renee for you to have loved her.

Tony: Thanks for saying that, anna. And, also, thank you for suggesting we– we come here.

Anna: Mm-hmm.

Tony: But then… that’s why you are the love of my life.

[Both chuckle]

Anna: As you are mine, my darling tony.

Tony: Well, I think we’ve finished what we came to do. So shall we?

Anna: Ooh. What is that? A pacifier.

Tony: Where did that come from?

Anna: [Gasps] Oh, my goodness. This must be ciara’s baby’S. Allie must have brought him here.

Tony: But where are they now?

Steffy: You thought we invited you here to welcome you into our family? You’re a deranged lunatic!

Sheila:You asked to see me? Taylor, what– what’s going on? Why are you treating me… like this? We’re family.

Steffy: You destroyed this family! You shot me. You killed my husband. You killed your own son! The truth is out, sheila. I remember now. It was you. You’re a murderer. You’re a murderer!

Hope: So, have you heard from ridge at all?

Brooke: No.

Hope: Oh, well, uh, you could always reach out.

Brooke: I know, honey, but, now that steffy’s home, ridge is going to give her all of his time and attention.

Hope: Yeah, I know liam feels the same way. And before you give me that look mom, steffy survived a terrible tragedy, so.

[ Knock at door ]

Deacon: Hey, lulu!

Hope: Dad!

Deacon: Hey, sweetheart. I knocked up at the cabin, I was hoping to find one of you home, and look at this. I got you both here.

[ Laughter ]

Deacon: Mm mm. Look, I know I shouldn’t just waltz in like this, but I didn’t see ridge’s car.

Brooke: He’s not here.

Deacon: Ah.

Hope: So… what brings you by, dad?

Deacon: Is this a bad time?

Hope: No, no. We– we were just, uh, discussing steffy’s progress. She just got released from the hospital, and ridge is helping her get settled in.

Deacon: And you’re hoping once she is, forrester’ll come to his senses and come back to you? Well, I suppose unlikelier things have happened.

Sheila: What– what are you saying? Taylor, you can’t believe this. This– this is crazy. Your mother invited me here so that– that I could see my grandson. She wouldn’t trick me in– taylor, you wouldn’T… te– tell her to stop.

Ridge: No one’s stopping, sheila.

Sheila: I– I don’t know what’s going on here, but I can– I can just leave.

Taylor: No. No. You’re going to stay. You’re going to answer for what you’ve done.

Sheila: I haven’t done anything,

Taylor: Steffy remembers.

Sheila: She’s wrong. You’re wrong. I’m not a murderer. You’re the ones that are acting delusional right now. I– here, you tell me that you sympathize with me, that you feel my grief. And– and now you want me to– oh, god. This is– this is disgusting. This is sick, to think– I loved my son. I gave him away as a baby, so he could have a better life. I would never… deliberately end it. (Christine) when you hear the words oral cancer,

Deacon: I’m the last guy to fault anyone for taking care of their kids.

Brooke: Ridge is 100% focused on steffy right now.

Deacon: I’m sorry, I– I didn’t mean to come off like I was undermining your belief in ridge. Your faith in liam.

Brooke: Okay. Well, let’s just… change the subject.

Deacon: Subject changed. Look, I just love you both. And I– I want what’s best for you.

Hope: Dad, we know that.

Deacon: Okay, I hope so. Now, I didn’t come over here to upset anybody. I came over because… I’ve got some mind-blowing news.

Sheila: You think I killed him? You’re wrong. You’re so–

Ridge: So you’re calling steffy a liar?

Sheila: I’m saying she doesn’t know what she’s saying.

Steffy: I remember sheila. I was there. You had a gun. You shot finn and me.

Sheila: What am i doing here? Why would I have rushed to the hospital, steffy? Why would I speak to the police? Why would I do that?

Steffy: You’re a lunatic. Who knows why you do anything?

Sheila: You’re so sure that I’ve done this hideous thing? And you can’t even say why?

Steffy: I saw you, sheila. You had the gun. You were in the alley.

Sheila: Yeah. And when you were in the hospital, you also thought that liam was your husband. You were positive of that. You had no memory of finn and hayes. None whatsoever. No, you believed you were married to liam.

Ridge: She knows what she saw.

Sheila: Her memories are not infallible. And you know that. Her mind has blocked out the pain and trauma of being shot. And now she’s just trying to put the pieces all back together again. And of course, it– it would be me! Why not, right? The woman that shot her mother. That took her away from her family all those years ago. No, you… you’re looking for someone to blame for losing finn.

Steffy: I was there! I remember!

Sheila: You don’T.

Steffy: I know what I’m saying. I know what I saw.

Sheila: You’ve always considered me to be a threat to your family. That’s why you put me into that alley. But it never happened. It isn’t real.

Steffy: I’m not making this up.

Ridge: Don’t listen to her, she’s trying to confuse you.

Sheila: You’re– you’re making these horrible accusations. When all I wanted to be was a part of my son’s life. Of his family’S. And I would have done anything to make that happen. And now, my son is gone. And that is tearing me apart. I never have experienced this kind of pain. It’s– it’s like hell on earth. And that kind of grief, and that kind of despair. You know… I wanted to take my own life. Taylor, you know that. You know, I’m not a violent person anymore. Steffy’S… mind is tainted by– by fear and anger, and that’s wrong. You know it. Please. You’ve gotta believe me. If you have advanced non-small cell lung cancer,

Hope: What’s going on, dad?

Deacon: Alright, before I say anything, I just want to make sure that we’re okay.

Brooke: We are.

Deacon: Okay. I’m sorry. Cause I– I didn’t mean to bad mouth liam or ridge. Alright, maybe ridge, just a little bit. But I– listen, I want to be supportive. I’m not trying to bring anyone down.

Hope: You didn’T.

Deacon: Alright, good. Because I think you two, are two of the most fantastic women in the world. And it just burns me up that you’re not getting treated the way you should be. You know, I know how much I want to be around you. And I– just think that liam and ridge would want to be around you, too.

Hope: Okay, dad, we get it.

Deacon: Okay, mm hm.

Hope: You said you came here with news. So, what’s that about?

Deacon: Yes, it’s about the shooting.

Brooke: Oh.

Deacon: It’s crazy how a tragedy like this can affect people and affect their relationships with other people.

Hope: Okay, no, maybe let’s not.

Deacon: No, no, no– I’m not talking about that. I’m talking about sheila.

Sheila: Taylor, you know I’m not the person I used to be. Saved your life.

Steffy: What is she saying?

Taylor: She was gonna jump off the roof of the hospital. When I tried to save her, I slipped and I fell, and… sheila grabbed me, and saved me.

Steffy: Oh, my god.

Taylor: That’s fine.

Ridge: So I’m sorry. What are you looking for? A loyalty cookie? What do you need?

Sheila: Maybe a little compassion.

Ridge: You’re not getting anything from this family. You’ve taken enough from us already.

Sheila: Just listen to what you’re saying! This is beyond cruel and it’s– it’s wrong.

Steffy: It’s true.

Ridge: You’re a killer! You’re a twisted, sick, evil killer. You killed your own boy!

Sheila: No! I’ve done things in my past. I’ve lost control. I’ve panicked. Done things that I’ll regret forever. But I am not evil.

Steffy: Yes, you are.

Sheila: I’m so sorry. I am so sorry for what has happened to your family. It haunts me. I think about what happened that night and what that means for hayes.

Steffy: Oh, don’t you dare say his name.

Sheila: You are obviously out of your mind with grief–

Taylor: Sheila, that’s enough. I opened up to you. I– I let you spend time with my family. I insisted that steffy invite you into this home.

Sheila: And I’m so grateful.

Taylor: I defended you to my children and to ridge. I– I told them to– to try to understand the pain that you’re going through.

Sheila: It’s because you know, I’m a different person now. I– I’m not denying what I’ve done in my past. I own my choices. I know that I– I have committed horrible crimes. But that doesn’t define me. That– I served my time. I was trying to make amends. And finn saw how hard I was trying. I thought that– I thought that you saw that, too. That– that you did. I lost my son that night too. That one senseless act of violence. And I’m never going to have a chance to truly redeem myself again. I mean, just– just look. Look at you all. Look at what’s happening. The way that– that you’re all turning on me. Taylor, please. It didn’t happen the way steffy said. Say something to them right now. You– you– ridge and steffy. They’ll believe you. They’ll listen to you.

Taylor: You want me to make my daughter doubt her own memory? To question the most horrifying thing she’s ever experienced?

Sheila: I just want you to make her see.

Taylor: You think that I would trust you over my own child? Sheila, you’re good. You’re good. But you are– you are not that good. I don’t believe you, sheila. I don’t believe you at all. I believe my daughter. She buried that horrific memory because it was too painful for her, but– but she remembers now. And she saw finn’s killer. And she’s certain it was you.

Sheila: I’m not that person.

Steffy: Gah, sheila, stop lying. You were there. You were in the alley. We were arguing. I swore I’d keep you away from finn and hayes. And then you took out a gun. You were going to kill me. And then finn showed up, and he jumped in front of the bullet. He died in my arms. And when I went to call 911, you– you turned the gun on me. You shot me. It was you, sheila. Finn’s blood is on your hands.

It’s the most wonderful

time of the year.

Brooke: You have news about sheila?

Deacon: You are not going to believe it.

Hope: Well, I thought you were trying to keep your distance from sheila.

Deacon: Yeah, but ever since finn died… she’s been completely alone. Completely isolated. I mean, she lost her son. Nobody would tell her what happened. She never got a chance to say goodbye. This has been awful for her.

Brooke: I did see her at the hospital a few times. She was devastated. As much as I despise sheila and everything she’s ever done, as a mom, I do feel sorry for her.

Deacon: You would not be the only one.

Hope: What do you mean?

Deacon: So taylor called sheila and invited her over to steffy’S. I– I didn’t think this was ever going to happen, but sheila thinks this could be it. She thinks that this might actually be her chance to be welcomed into her grandson’s life.

[ Brooke scoffing ]

Sheila: I’m not your enemy. I’m suffering, too.

Taylor: We know the truth, steffy remembers.

Sheila: Her– her memory… is hazy. She hates me. She wants me to be punished.

Ridge: Punished? What do you– do you know about punishment? You don’t get punished. If you were punished, you’d still be in prison. You wouldn’t have made it back here. You wouldn’t have met finn. You wouldn’t have shot my daughter and that poor, innocent boy. But you did. You took his life. And with that, destroyed your own. You know what? I’m going to– I’m going to spend every second of my day to make sure that you spend the rest of your life behind bars like that nasty, filthy animal that you are.

Sheila: Yes, I did it! I shot finn. But it was an accident, and it haunts me every minute of every day.

Steffy: Oh, I– I hope you die behind bars.

Sheila: He wasn’t supposed to be there. I loved finn. I would never hurt him. He was my own flesh… and blood. He was my last opportunity to finally have a loving relationship with one of my children. But you just… you couldn’t let that happen, could you? No, you were on me from the minute I came back to L.A. Threatening me, over and over again. Telling me how you were going to come between my son and me. And I’d never get to see my grandson.

Steffy: Hayes is gonna hate you for the rest of his life.

Sheila: You’re the one that took his daddy away from him. You. This never would have happened, if you would have shown me any kind of compassion, understanding, kindness. But no, steffy, you were too selfish for that! Too cruel! You– you want to blame this on me? But you know what really happened. I didn’t chase after you. You… came after me. Finn would still be here if it weren’t for you! You’d still have your husband. And hayes would still have his daddy. But no. No, you– you had to come after me. You had to attack me. I defended my relationship with my son! This is on you! Finn’s blood is on your hands, steffy. Yours!

Steffy: No, no it’s not. No, it’s not!

Jack: Allie, I’m sorry if i overstepped in saying that the abbotts were your family. I didn’t want to say anything to upset you. I just — I’ve come to think of you as part of my family.

Allie: You didn’t — you didn’t do anything wrong, jack. And I really appreciate you saying that. It’s just…

[ Sniffles ] I’m so sorry.

Jack: No, no, no. You have nothing to apologize for.

Allie: [ Crying ]

Jack: It’s okay. I got the sense that something’s weighing on you from the moment you got here. I’m sorry I had to take off for a little while. That would never have happened if I hadn’t had another family issue regarding kyle. But I’m here now. You have my full attention. Something’s going on. Tell me what it is. What’s wrong?

Diane: You’re headed back to italy tonight?

Kyle: That’s right.

Diane: Is it — is it something I did? I mean, I — I mean, I know i didn’t instantly win over the abbotts today, but I thought i at least held my own with their questioning.

Kyle: This isn’t about anything you did today or about my family.

Diane: Well, of course not. It’s about you. You’ve let me say my piece and now you’ve decided you want nothing to do with me. I get it. I — I’ve tried to emotionally prepare myself for this very real possibility, but, um…I’m not gonna lie, I’m — I’m really disappointed.

Kyle: Look, I’m not leaving for the reason you think.

Lauren: Thank you, my love.

Michael: Mm-hmm. Mwah!

Lauren: I cannot stop thinking about our drive through the south of france. That convertible, the wind in our hair, and stopping at all the cafés along the way. And that airbnb — I mean, how cute was that couple that ran it. That could be us, you know.

Michael: Uh-huh. You serious? You and me, running an inn?

Lauren: Well, if it’s us, it’s probably gonna be a winery, but…

Michael: Are you saying you want to retire in france?

Lauren: Could you see it?

Michael: Hmm.

Lauren: I mean, because I’m pretty sure when I close my eyes and think about my happy place, that’s it.

Michael: Oh, it was gorgeous.

Michael: You’re always such a charmer.

Michael: Mm-hmm. It was great. It was a great trip. I’m glad you insisted we go.

Lauren: Well, you deserved it. You needed the r&r, and so did I, after worrying about you so much for being in peru.

Michael: Well, I promise our next vacation won’t be a de-stressor after I’ve been thrown into a peruvian prison.

Lauren: Well, better not be.

[ Chuckles ] And there is one way to ensure that that won’t happen. And that’s rethinking working for victor.

Faith: You look nice, mom.

Sharon: Thank you.

Nick: You look beautiful.

Sharon: Thank you.

Nick: Are we waiting for tessa and mariah?

Sharon: They should be here any minute.

Nick: Good. I talked to abby. She and chance are gonna meet us at the church.

Sharon: Chance told me that the gcpd will have their own memorial service for rey later. The guys he worked with, they really loved him.

Noah: I put together a slide show of photos. I thought maybe we can project them on the wall during the service.

Sharon: That’s a wonderful idea, noah. Thank you.

Mariah: Hey, everybody. We brought food for afterwards.

Sharon: I’m just so grateful that you could all be here today. I guess we should get going.

[ Knock on door ]

Nick: Are you expecting someone else?

Sharon: No. And tonight’s winning number, 43

Chelsea: Um, I apologize if this is awkward. I heard you were having a memorial for rey. I didn’t mean to intrude, I just realized this might be my only opportunity to pay my respects. But if it’s only family, i totally understand. You say the word and I’ll go. I just thought it might be nice to be able to, um, say goodbye with all of you.

Mariah: Yeah, I’m so sorry, chelsea, but it’s — it’s just the kids and rey’s partner. It’s supposed to be a small and intimate thing.

Sharon: Well, hold on. It was supposed to be small and personal, but you’re welcome to join us. I know what close friends you and rey had become. I hope that no part of you blames yourself for his death. Did you hear that he had a heart attack?

Chelsea: I did.

Sharon: So then you know he didn’t die because he was out on the road getting those tickets. No one’s to blame. It was no one’s fault.

Chelsea: Thank you for saying that.

Sharon: It feels right that you’re here. Rey would’ve wanted it like this. We’re actually on our way to the church now. You can drive over with us.

Chelsea: Thank you. I appreciate the opportunity to celebrate such a wonderful man.

Michael: I know how you feel about my relationship with victor. You don’t like my work husband.

Lauren: Alright, I never said that I didn’t like him.

Michael: [ Laughs ]

Lauren: Oh, and stop mocking my feelings.

Michael: I’m not. I’m not. He did lend us a private jet to go to france. I mean, does that score him any points?

Lauren: Well, that is the least that he could do.

Michael: No, look, I think my work will be much less stressful now that ashland locke has been purged from the company and that his marriage to victoria’s being annulled. Hopefully, he’s out of our lives for good. Things should be quieter.

Lauren: I’ll be glad when we are rid of ashland, but I don’t think things will ever be quieter with the newmans. But you know what would be more peaceful? The south of france. Wine in the afternoon, long nights in bed together, sleeping in as long as we want. Now, that — that could be our lives.

Michael: The only way that could be our lives is if you retired too. Are you willing to do the thing you’re asking me to do? Would you walk away from fenmore’s?

Allie: Oh, my god, I — I am so embarrassed. I-I-I don’t usually lose control like that. Seriously, I am not the weepy type.

Jack: It is so much healthier to express your feelings than keep them bottled up.

Allie: Yeah, but it’s just not something I do — crying in front of someone that I haven’t known for very long.

Jack: Look, maybe we haven’t known each other that long, but I’m not just anybody. I’m not a stranger. I’m your grandfather. And I have a feeling that something’s really on your mind that you’ve come a very long way to genoa city, maybe — maybe to talk about it. I just want you to know you always have a soft spot to land here. I made a lot of mistakes with your father. I don’t want to repeat those mistakes.

Allie: You’re right. I came here because I could use someone to talk to. Something did happen. I’m steve.

Diane: Thank you for coming upstairs. I — I didn’t think this was a conversation we should have in a hotel lobby, for various reasons.

Kyle: I couldn’t agree more.

Diane: [ Sighs ] So why are you headed back to italy tonight?

Kyle: I want to get back to my wife. This has been a lot, and i really miss summer. I need her insight and advice about everything.

Diane: So I take it this means you still haven’t decided whether you want me in your life.

Kyle: I’m still wrestling with what to think and how to move forward. My family has weighed in. Now I need to hear what summer thinks.

Diane: Well, of course, of course, you should talk to her. I — I’m just kind of curious, though — what did the abbotts say about me after I left? I’m thinking it wasn’t pretty.

Kyle: It’s not really my place to share their opinions about you after the fact.

Diane: Fair enough. So I guess there’s just one more question. What can I do to get another chance with you?

Allie: It’s about my mother.

Jack: You once told me things were a bit tense between you two.

Allie: “Tense” is an understatement. She came to la pretty soon after you and phyllis went back to genoa city.

Jack: Well, that could be her way of reaching out.

Allie: Yeah, I was hoping that was the case. But, no, she didn’t come to california to come see me. No, it was all about legal papers that she had to sign related to dad’s estate.

Jack: I’m sorry.

Allie: You know, I would have loved to talk to her about you, about dad’s whole other side of the family. I would have also loved to just know if she knew more about how dad felt about things.

Jack: And she just wasn’t ready to talk about that.

Allie: I never even got the chance to ask. I was really hoping that this visit would start to bridge the gap between us. You know, I was searching for the smallest connection, any connection, to my mom. But there was nothing left to bridge. That was clear. She came to la by herself, stayed in a hotel for one night. She signed the papers and left at the crack of dawn the next morning.

Jack: As a parent, I find that unconscionable.

Allie: You know, honestly, it would’ve been better if I just didn’t see her at all. Because seeing her like that, it just — it just ripped the wound right open. The lack of a relationship with my mom just makes me feel the loss of my dad even more. He was all I had. Sorry. Now he’s gone.

Jack: It’s hard to come to terms with the loss of a parent.

Allie: I was feeling so empty…and lonely. And I just…I felt compelled, without really even thinking it through, to just get on a flight and come see you.

[ Sobbing ]

Lauren: You know, comparing my job to yours is disingenuous. I could probably work remotely, and victor would never tolerate that from you. You chose to retire from the da’s office, and then you chose to work for victor, which landed you in a prison cell in south america.

Michael: Ashland locke landed me in a prison in south america.

Lauren: Yes, but victor is the one that got you into ashland’s crosshairs to begin with. Look, I really don’t want to argue about this, but I do want to ask you a question. What kind of hold does victor have on you where you consistently defend him, no matter what?

Michael: I feel no need to defend my position. I helped victor expose a treacherous snake. Who knows what locke was planning to do to victoria if he had gotten his hands on that company? I helped put a stop to that.

Lauren: You’re right, and that is a good thing. But that is not the point.

Michael: The point is that we could take a cruise around the world, visit every place we’ve ever dreamed of. We could move to saint-tropez. But I doubt highly you’d be able to run fenmore’s from there. Not the way you’re used to or would want to. The only way we could truly live a stress-free life is if you were as free as you’re asking me to be. Could you actually step back enough to let the — the — the well-oiled machine that is fenmore’s be run by someone else?

[ Chuckles ] You just gave me your answer. It’s a big, fat no.

Lauren: [ Sighs ] After years on the battlefield

Michael: I’m not upset at you for not wanting to retire. On the contrary, I love how passionate you are about your work. Your drive is one of the sexiest things about you. I just wish there was a way that —

Lauren: I could love your working relationship with victor?

Michael: [ Chuckles ]

Lauren: Even though it literally went south?

Michael: That’s the nature of the beast, the fun in the game. The proof in the pudding.

Lauren: Oh, my god, the clichéS. Okay, point taken.

Michael: I’m gonna make you a promise. We’re gonna hit every exotic destination on our wish list, and if you want to end up in the south of france, that’s where we’ll finish. But not quite yet, because we’re still in our prime, baby.

Lauren: Are we?

Michael: You don’t agree?

Lauren: Oh, I do.

Michael: [ Chuckles ] So I suggest that we continue to thrive in our respective careers. And…live our lives to the fullest. And then, when it’s time for us to walk off into the sunset, we’ll know it. And we’ll go hand-in-hand. What an adventure that will be.

Lauren: [ Chuckles ] Okay. Good point. But there is the difference between our careers. Running a successful chain of department stores isn’t dangerous. It’s relatively safe. No one is gonna put me behind bars because I declare pink the color of the season.

Michael: Oh, so bright.

Lauren: But it was muted.

Michael: Alright. True.

[ Sighs ] But like I said, I am convinced that things with victor are going to settle down.

Lauren: Mm. I find that very hard to believe.

Michael: Time will tell. And if it becomes an issue, we will revisit this, okay?

Lauren: Okay.

Michael: Good.

Lauren: I am gonna go back to work.

Michael: Aww.

Lauren: But I would like you to compare and contrast something for me — our wonderful trip in the south of france to the delightful time you spent behind bars in peru. I love you.

Mariah: Are abby and chance coming?

Tessa: Chance had to go back to work, and abby went to take care of dominic.

Noah: Dad.

Nick: Thanks.

Noah: Mom?

Sharon: Thank you.

Faith: Chelsea?

Chelsea: Oh, no, thank you. I — I don’t think I could eat or drink anything right now.

Sharon: Well, I would just like to thank everybody for coming today. Tessa, the song you sang at the church was really beautiful. And, noah, that photo montage, that was really moving. Chance just gave such a lovely eulogy. I’ll always remember it. The memorial was really special and cathartic. The kind of farewell that rey would be proud of.

Diane: What else can I do to prove myself to you? Because I — I am willing to do whatever it takes. You can line up the abbotts again. I’ll take their grilling. You can bring on the newmans, and I’ll do my best to answer their questions and absorb their anger. I — I want to do whatever is necessary to show you that I’m worthy of another chance.

Kyle: Then what?

Diane: What do you mean?

Kyle: I’m just not sure there’s one thing you can do to make everything okay.

Diane: I thought we could just open the door as a starting point, and then — and then take it from there.

Kyle: That’s the thing, it’s a very dangerous door for me to open, because once I do, it’s very hard for me to close. I have to be sure it’s the right thing for me to do. It’s something I have to decide with my gut.

Diane: Are you saying you need more time or are you saying you can’t risk letting me into your life again?

Kyle: There’s still a chance. I haven’t given up on you, but i have to understand if that’s because I’m still hurting from all the years of missing you, of living without you. Look, I need to know if it’s just a void I’m trying to fill that your death created. I also have to think about how this choice affects summer and harrison.

Diane: Harrison, my grandson.

Kyle: That little boy has already been through so much upheaval in his life. I refuse to put him through any more.

Diane: I’m really proud of the father you’ve become.

Kyle: I will always put my son first.

Diane: Yeah, I — I tried to do the same, but in the end, I — I fell short. Well, I guess if you’re leaving genoa city for now, I — i should probably head back to los angeles.

Kyle: That’s up to you. Whether you want to go back to your new life or maybe mend other fences here. Everyone remembers the moment they heard…

“The young and the restless”

will continue.

Even though some

things are far away,

Nick: You know, rey was determined to turn me into a soccer fan. He thought that if I just kept watching games, that eventually I’d get into it.

Noah: Did you?

Nick: No way, man.

[ Laughter ] I’m an american football guy. We’d get into these little arguments about whose sport was more boring than the other. We just liked hanging out, you know, so we watched a lot of games. He’d get pretty annoyed, though, when I just kept yelling “goal!”

Faith: Because it’s annoying.

Nick: It was funny.

Mariah: I’m pretty sure it wasn’T.

Noah: He was always so easy to be around. Low-key, cool. He never really treated me like I was his wife’s son. It was more like a — more like a buddy. Actually, I remember this one time, I had a date that had went well, and the next morning i walked into the coffee and I had mis-buttoned my shirt. And rey’s just sitting there with a big old smirk on his face, and luckily he pointed it out before anyone noticed — mom, in particular.

Sharon: Wait, wait a minute. Who was this? Did I meet her?

Mariah: No.

Noah: Uh, no, probably not.

Mariah: There’s no way.

[ Laughter ]

Faith: I hope rey understood just how much of a part of the family he was.

Sharon: Everyone’s shared memories of him today prove that. Chelsea, did you want to share anything?

Chelsea: Uh…well, he was — he was just really wonderful with connor. As you know, and, um… I really appreciated that. Uh… sorry, I don’T…

Tessa: I still can’t believe how much work he was doing behind the scenes to help my sister. And now I’m never gonna be able to thank him for that.

Mariah: It makes me wonder how many people he helped that we’ll never know about.

Sharon: I actually have received a lot of e-mails and notes from people that rey has helped in the past. Some were things that he had mentioned to me, but, you know, he downplayed. And then there were other stories that I — I had never heard, because rey wasn’t a grand-stander. He — he wasn’t in it for the thanks. He was a real hero.

Allie: Thanks.

Jack: I am so sorry that happened with your mother. Relationships between parents and their child are powerful and sometimes painful.

Allie: Yeah. I am only now starting to feel the full weight of the pain.

Jack: I’m sure there’s a lot more to this story between you and your mother. I’m not going to pressure you to share anything more than you’re comfortable with. Right now, I — I just want to say how — how happy, how proud, how grateful I am that you came to me. I want you to think of this house as your home. And I promise, you are always welcome here.

Allie: Thank you, jack.

Diane: Is there someone specific you’d like me to make amends to? Because there’s plenty to choose from. Unfortunately, I left a long list of people I’d wronged.

Kyle: I wasn’t thinking of anyone in particular. It’s not for me to say, and i hope you didn’t take what I said the wrong way. I’m not throwing out that there’s some requirement to my forgiveness.

Diane: Okay. I’ll take it as it was intended.

Kyle: Well, I guess I’ll be in touch in a few days.

Diane: Please, I’m looking forward to that.

Kyle: Bye.

Diane: Kyle, um…before you go, would it be possible for me to give you a hug? Or — or if that’s too much to ask, I understand.

[ Sighs ]

Noah: Mom, I’ll take you to the airport, unless, of course, you want me to travel with you. I’m sure dad’ll give me the time off work.

Sharon: No, you — you shouldn’t do that, but thank you. Your work’s important.

Chelsea: Where are you going?

Sharon: I am taking rey to miami so he can be buried there and be close to his family. That’s what his mother wanted.

Mariah: Mom, why don’t I go with you?

Sharon: You should stay here with tessa and focus on the wedding.

Tessa: No, no, I can take care of everything while you two are gone.

Sharon: You know, I’m really not going to be gone very long. I want to get back here so that I can help you two with the preparations.

Nick: Well, I told you before, I’d go with you if you want.

Sharon: It’s really not necessary. And besides, you might have to deal with diane. Please, everyone, know that i appreciate your offers to accompany me, but this is gonna be the last trip that I ever take with rey. The long goodbye. So I — I’d just prefer that it was just the two of us. I hope you understand.

Mariah: We do.

Faith: Whatever you want, mom.

Sharon: Well, the service made me kind of tired, so i think I’m gonna lay down for a little while. But I just want to thank all of you again for your support. I want you to know how much i love you all.

Mariah: Right back at you.

Nick: I’m glad we did this, sharon.

Sharon: Me too. This was just what I needed.

Kyle: I guess I missed the rest of your welcome reception.

Allie: Oh, that’s okay. I showed up here without any warning, and I definitely wasn’t expecting to meet all the abbotts anyway. By the way, kyle, I just want you to know that I had no idea that taylor — diane — was your mom. Seriously, I thought it was a random person buying a house.

Kyle: I know.

Jack: We all know that it’s diane’s machinations that set this whole thing in motion. Why don’t we leave her behind for the night? Allie and I were about to head to society for some dinner. Care to join us?

Kyle: I appreciate the offer, but I don’t think that’s gonna be possible.

Michael: Drew. No.

Diane: Yes, it’s me.

Michael: But —

Diane: I’m back.

Michael: How?

Diane: [ Chuckles ] The same way so many people come back to genoa city.

Michael: [ Sighs ] You were dead.

Diane: And now I’m not. It’s a blessing and a curse. I’ve come back a changed woman, but no one will believe me.

Michael: Did you actually think anyone would?

Diane: Well, I knew they’d be angry, but I guess since I’ve been living with the new me for a while, I thought other people might accept her, too.

Michael: Because people here are super forgiving.

Diane: Hmm. So go ahead, give me your worst. I can take it. In fact, you’re late to the party because I’m kind of used to it. I have already been put through the emotional wringer. I’ve spent days explaining myself to people who don’t believe a word out of my mouth, and I am mentally and physically exhausted. So bring it on. Just get it out of your system. Call me evil incarnate or a crazy bitch, anything else you can think of.

Michael: Are you sure? Because I have a pretty good imagination.

Diane: [ Chuckles ] So do I. Which is probably why I thought it was possible to come back here for a fresh start, which I’m realizing is increasingly unlikely, so come on, michael. Can we just get to the part where you hurl one last searing insult at me and storm off? And then I can finish my drink in peace.

Michael: Well, actually… it’s pretty good to see you. (Christine) when you hear the words oral cancer,

Tessa: Well, it was nice spending time with everyone today.

Mariah: Yeah. I think my mom knew that we would all want to be together, and I know the service took a lot out of her, but…I think she’s gonna be okay. I’m a little less worried about her now.

Tessa: Yeah, she seems to be holding it together.

Mariah: And it makes me feel less guilty about going ahead with the wedding planning.

Tessa: I mean, she seems really excited about helping us plan it, and it gives her something to focus on.

Mariah: Yeah. I’ve been excited about planning it, too.

Tessa: Who would’ve thought?

[ Chuckles ]

Mariah: It’s nice to have something to look forward to, you know?

Tessa: I can’t wait to be your wife.

Mariah: I can’t wait to be yours.

Chelsea: You were so good to my son, rey. But that’s not all I wanted to say. You were good to me, too. So kind, so generous. I really cared about you, more than you probably knew. What we shared was genuine. It was a bond, it was a feeling. It was a feeling.

[ Sighs ] And it was stronger than friendship. I feel guilty saying that, but it’s true. Who knows if it would’ve developed into anything more. I would’ve felt bad about that, too, because sharon — sharon is a good woman. She loved you. She truly loved you. And I’ve already put her through a lot of pain.

[ Exhales sharply ] None of that matters anymore. None of it matters because you’re gone. And I can’t help it — I feel angry and I feel sad over what i lost. A potential future with a man i could’ve loved. Once again, my happiness just ripped away.

[ Sniffles ] When is it gonna end? When do I get to win?

Kyle: Allie, I would love to get to know you better, but it’s going to have to be a different time. Right now, I need to get harrison ready and start packing, because we’re gonna fly back to milan tonight.

Jack: Wait, did something happen with diane after I left the hotel?

Kyle: No, we had a pleasant, civil conversation. I didn’t make any big decisions. I just need to get home, see summer, talk things out with her. And I’m going to take your advice not to rush things.

Jack: Good. I hate to think of you and harrison leaving so soon. It feels like you just got here.

Kyle: I promise we’ll make a visit to see grandpa jack soon.

Jack: Well, hopefully next time under less dramatic circumstances.

Kyle: I can commit to a future visit, but when it comes to the drama, I can’t make any promises.

Diane: You’re glad to see me? Is this some sort of michael baldwin misdirect? You’re happy because you want to see me finally suffer for my crimes or because genoa city needs a new punching bag?

Michael: At least you have two kidneys.

Diane: [ Chuckles ]

Michael: [ Sighs ] I am genuinely glad that you are not dead.

Diane: I don’t know whether or not to believe you.

Michael: Shouldn’t the new, improved, not-dead diane just be a smidge more trusting?

Diane: You’re right. I’m going to take a win where i can get one. Cheers.

Elizabeth: You don’t have to keep checking on me.

Finn: But I really like checking in on you. As a matter of fact, this is the only time I wish you were working a double shift. I mean, I’m here. The hospital’s got security cameras.

Elizabeth: Fortunately, Nikolas asked me to stay at Wyndemere. I don’t love the fact that Esme is there, considering what we think she did to Cameron and Josslyn — filming a sex tape and putting it out there for the world to see — but at least I know Cameron is safe, staying in the dorms with friends, and Jake and Aiden are with Kevin and Laura. And as for me, there’s no place more secure than Spoon Island. [ Chuckles ]

Finn: Yeah, okay. Wouldn’t be my first choice, but… you’re headed there now?

Elizabeth: I just have to make a quick stop first, um, and so I-I have to go. I’ll talk to you later? Okay, bye.

Drew: Carly, you and I need to talk.

Carly: Drew — I don’t know what you think you saw.

Drew: I saw Nina put down her drink, and then she left. And then I saw you pick up the drink and put it in your purse. The question’s why?

Nina: Hi. It’s been a while since I came to visit, and I figured I owed you an explanation. I am… I’m fighting for visitation rights with Wiley. You probably already know that. And Willow and Michael, they’re fighting me on it, so there’s gonna be a hearing. And they’ve also decided to fight dirty. So they paid off this reporter to do a feature on me. He’s making me look like a villain, which is ironic because… that’s how the whole world saw you. Unfortunately, everything he’s writing… is true. I’ve made some pretty bad choices in my life. So have you. I just wanted the world to know… that you’re not all bad. That your life mattered.

[ Door opens ]

Michael: Hey. How’d it go?

Willow: We had a good talk. Alexis just left.

Michael: Are you okay? I know Alexis can be kind of intense.

Willow: It was definitely an intense conversation. I’m going to have to get that DNA test for the police eventually. And I know it’s going to prove that Harmony wasn’t my biological mother, which makes me related to no one.

Michael: How about a break? The boat’s out of the dry dock. We can ride it up to Sawyer.

Willow: Can we take the car instead? I need to go somewhere.

Sonny: They’re gonna stop the rescue operation. And Jason…is dead.

Carly: No. They told me the same thing about you, and it turned out to not be true. They did.

Sonny: I want to believe Jason’s still out there, too, Carly.

Laura: Sonny.

Sonny: I’m sorry, I was, uh, lost in thought.

Laura: I’m not surprised. I bet you have a lot on your mind now.

Sonny: Yeah. I don’t know if you heard, but Monica is finalizing the paperwork to have Jason legally declared dead.

Laura: I did not know that. I’m sorry.

Sonny: And everybody’s into all kinds of discussion about whether, you know, the memorial plaque should be at the Quartermaine crypt or in the graveyard next to Morgan. I mean… [ Chuckles ]

Laura: Oh, I’m sorry. That’s a very heavy burden.

Sonny: Yeah. Yeah.

Laura: Oh. That’s not what I was referring to, though. I-I was talking about the feature about Nina petitioning the court for visitation rights with your grandson.

Sonny: I — what are you talking about?

Laura: Oh, it — it’s a feature. Right. Part one of a feature. It just showed up on The Invader’s website just about an hour ago. I —

Sonny: You — you think I’m gonna not like it? Is that what’s going on here?

Laura: [ Sighs ] Well… there’s an awful lot in there about what happened with you and Nina.

Nikolas: I read the piece. It doesn’t paint Nina in a very good light. I guess that means that, uh, the two of you are made for each other.

Spencer: I just feel that I don’t know you as well as I thought. And I wanted to find out what I didn’t know.

Esme: Then why not just ask me? I mean, we used to talk about everything. And if we’re gonna get back to what we had, then we have to be honest with each other about everything. Completely transparent.

Spencer: I agree. How ’bout we start with this? Why did Maggie write, “no good can come from you having contact with your father”?

Esme: I-I can see how this, um… doesn’t make sense.

Spencer: Because it doesn’t. You told me you fell out of contact with your nanny years ago.

Spencer: Yes, that’s — th-that’s true, but — but in that letter, it sounds like she knows who your biological parents are. Does that mean that you know as well? Who exactly is your father?

[ Doorbell rings ]

Elizabeth: [ Sighs ] I know, this is crazy, but I’m doing it for you.

Chelsea: Elizabeth Baldwin?

Elizabeth: Yes, that’s me.

Chelsea: I’m Chelsea Lam. I’m here to help you.

Elizabeth: Please, come in. Lucy Coe has said some great things about you. She thought that maybe you could help me get some answers. Is that possible?

Chelsea: I’m not sure. I guess we’ll find out together.

Elizabeth: Okay.

Chelsea: What do you say we contact a spirit?

Carly: Okay, fine, fine. You caught me. I’m up to something.

Drew: Well, that’s a real shock.

Carly: And it’s for a good reason.

Drew: To do with Nina.

Carly: I can’t give you the details.

Drew: Carly.

Carly: Because I don’t want you involved.

Drew: Well, that sounds ominous.

Carly: [ Sighs ] Certain information fell into my lap.

Drew: And you prefer to carry the weight of that secret alone?

Carly: No. I would prefer to tell my best friend. Jason would listen without judging, and he would let me work through things. And if I did something that he didn’t approve of, he would still support me.

Drew: Well, if you’re looking for someone to be Jason, I can’t be that guy for you.

Nina: If I’m honest with myself, I guess I did want Carly to suffer a little the way she made you and me suffer. But I could have done a better job at building the bridge between me and Michael and Carly and Willow. That way, I could have had an active part in Wiley’s life, and I would have told that little boy about you. But that’s not the choice that I made.

Nina: But in the moment, when Wiley looked at me and asked me how we were connected, I was thinking about Nelle.

Carly: Nina —

Nina: come on! And no matter what she did when she was alive, we can’t just pretend that she didn’t exist. We can’t. We can’t just pretend that she didn’t give birth to this miracle of a grandson that we both share.

Carly: I doubt we’ll be sharing Wiley in the near future.

Nina: Now there’s an all-out war, a war that I cannot lose, and I’m prepared to go all the way so I can be part of Wiley’s life… …and that my only daughter is not forgotten.

Sonny: I don’t want to listen to your lies.

Laura: Nikolas. Nikolas.

Sonny: [ Chuckles ]

Laura: You know what? I love running into you, but I wish that you would adhere to the old adage, “If you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all.”

Nikolas: Well, I’ll remember that the next time you cross paths with uncle Victor.

Laura: Are you equating Victor and Sonny?

Nikolas: Oh, that’s unfair — to Victor. I will never understand the blind spot you have for Sonny. He’s just a bully. The way he went after Esme. You kidnapped her.

Sonny: Okay. Here you go, opening your mouth when you know nothing. I was just talking to Esme. But unlike you, who — who buys her little innocent act… you think I’m a bully? You know what you are? An idiot! I’m sorry. I’ll see you later.

Laura: Okay.

Nikolas: Hey, don’t you walk away from me.

Laura: Oh!

Nikolas: Aah!

Sonny: Don’t you ever, ever put your hand on my shoulder!

Esme: Do you think that if I knew who my biological father was, you wouldn’t know, too?

Spencer: I don’t know how to answer that… because the letter that you’re holding basically contradicts everything that you’ve told me about your past.

Esme: Everything I’ve told you is true. Maggie and I lost contact, and… I-I hadn’t spoken to her in years.

Spencer: So then how does she know so much about me, Esme?

Esme: I… started asking questions about my biological parents. I had been…so alone. And then I-I-I met you and we started to talk about a future together. And I realized that I might need answers one day, so I-I tracked down my old nanny and I started… fishing to see what she knew about my biological parents. Once it became clear that Maggie did know something, I ingratiated myself and regaled her with stories of — of my life at school and my handsome new boyfriend.

Spencer: And that worked?

Esme: No. Turns out Maggie did know something, but she wasn’t inclined to share. Once that became clear, I cut her out of my life. And that, Spence, is God’s honest truth.

Spencer: So then why did you keep all of those letters?

Chelse: So tell me, Elizabeth, why am I here?

Elizabeth: Well, there has been some weird incidents. They started in my home and then at my place of work at the hospital, and most recently, at a hotel where I was staying. I can’t explain what’s happening. The police have investigated, but there have been no signs of forced entry.

Chelsea: But signs of your late husband keep showing up?

Elizabeth: Did you just sense that?

Chelsea: Oh. [ Chuckles ] No, I’m not that good. Lucy gave me some background information when she referred you. I’m not a psychic. I can’t read minds. But if I could see the Powerball numbers, I would have a seaside retreat in Maui. However, I do believe that the spirits of the universe are always talking to us. It’s just a matter of whether or not we stop and listen to the messages. I take it this is your first time talking to a medium?

Elizabeth: Yes. [ Chuckles ] Must be written all over my face. My friend Terry was going to come with me, but then you said you wanted to meet me here.

Chelsea: Oh, Lucy informed me that the majority of the incidents happened in this house. If it’s your late husband’s doing, he’ll have the strongest connection here.

Elizabeth: Right, yeah, that makes sense. Only…what if it’s not him?

Drew: I’m not my brother. But I will try to have an open mind. And obviously I don’t consider myself the boss of you, but if I disagree with something that I hear, I can’t promise to support you without judgment.

Carly: Well, good to know.

Drew: Hey, hey, hey, hey, I’m just being honest with you. Okay? That’s what I — I will always be honest, no matter what. Even if it’s what you don’t want to hear. And if you are in over your head, I promise you that I’m — I’m gonna be there for you. I’m gonna help you dig yourself out, so… so what’s going on? Okay, that’s — that’s your call.

Carly: Drew, wait. Drew, wait, okay? Look… I want to tell you, but I think you’d be more comfortable if you walked away, because it’s big.

Drew: I’m here and I’m listening.

Carly: I was the last person in the room with Harmony before she died.

Drew: Okay.

Drew: She told me that Nina… is Willow’s birth mother.

Nina: What are you two doing at my daughter’s grave?

Michael: We’re on the way to where Jonah is buried, and before you ask, Wiley is at home with Monica.

Nina: Willow…I’m so sorry about Jonah. To — to find out you lost a child long after they passed away, it’s devastating, isn’t it? I know you think of me as your enemy, but I understand the pain that you’re going through.

Willow: If you don’t want to be thought of as an enemy, Nina, stop acting like one.

Michael: You know, Willow didn’t know that her son had died because Nelle switched him with Wiley, so while you’re contemplating Willow’s devastation, you should probably blame your daughter.

Nina: Wow, Michael, you never miss an opportunity to say something awful about Nelle.

Michael: And you never miss the opportunity to rewrite history.

Nina: I don’t know why I’m even engaging with you. Willow, I was just trying to express my sympathy to you.

Willow: Yeah. This would be the right time. In the last 24 hours, I lost… I lost my mother in more ways than one. And the stress of the hearing is only making things worse, so if you want to express your sympathy, then please stop this once and for all.

Nikolas: [ Groans ]

Laura: Hey, hey, hey. That’s enough. Sonny, stop it, both of you.

Nikolas: Did you see that, Martin? He — he attacked me.

Martin: Do you have the situation under control?

Laura: Yes. Yes. It’s gonna be fine. Sonny, look, under the circumstances, I think it’s pro–

Sonny: No, I know, I know. I’m — I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I’m going.

Esme: I, um… kept my nanny’s letters for sentimental reasons. And, no, I don’t mean I have a soft streak for sappy greeting cards and cute puppies, but… …when you don’t have any real family in this world, you feel very isolated. And, yes, I cut Maggie out of my life, but… those letters remind me of better days. And with you being so distant… they have even more meaning. So there it is. You asked me for explanations, and I gave them to you. So let’s stop dancing around this — do you believe in me… in us… …or not?

Chelsea: The candles are a good touch. Can we dim the lights and light a few more?

Elizabeth: Sure. Go ahead. I’ll get the lights.

Chelsea: Let’s see what kind of poltergeist could be behind this.

Elizabeth: Poltergeist?

Chelsea: Oh, that movie ruined a rather neutral term. A ghost is a spirit of someone who was passed, while a poltergeist could be a spirit or it could be a psychic impression of someone who is still living. Sort of a square/rectangle situation. Similar, but not the same.

Elizabeth: Oh, I see.

Chelsea: Do you have anything of sentimental value to your late husband?

Elizabeth: Yes.

Drew: Nina…is Willow’s birth mother? How is that even possible? I thought Nelle was Nina’s long-lost daughter.

Carly: Harmony said Willow was a twin.

Drew: Willow and Nelle, twins?

Carly: According to Harmony.

Drew: Do you have anything to back this?

Carly: No. Supposedly, Willow is months younger than Nelle, but Willow’s birth certificate was forged. That poor girl doesn’t even know when her birthday is.

Drew: [ Sighs ]

Carly: And that’s why I showed up here tonight. I wanted to get information from Phyllis about the night Nelle was born. Phyllis took care of Nina at the time, and it turns out that Phyllis wasn’t even there during the actual birth, so she wouldn’t know if there had been twin babies. So the only way to prove or disprove what Harmony said is with a DNA test. When I saw Nina’s glass sitting there, I just grabbed it.

Drew: You’re gonna perform a DNA test without Nina knowing, and Willow’s on board with this?

Carly: Willow doesn’t know.

Nina: I’m not heartless, Willow. But let me remind you, I’m not the one that started this. You two did. By that five-part feature in The Invader. I’m sure Smoltz is going to get a Pulitzer for that. Oh, wait, there’s not a category for biased hit jobs.

Michael: You know, there couldn’t be a feature if there — if there wasn’t a petition in the first place. All Willow and I did was cooperate with the reporter. Now, if you feel anything that Smoltz wrote is untrue, then you can sue.

Nina: I’ve always tried to compromise with you.

Willow: When? When? When did you ever offer to compromise?! The night I went to your office, I said that if you would back off, give Michael time, stop pushing, I would find a way for you to see Wiley!

Nina: Oh, really?

Willow: Yeah!

Nina: And I was supposed to trust that? You just want me to sign off my rights to my grandson?

Michael: You don’t have any rights to Wiley. You had a right to file a petition, and you’ve done that. This fight is on you.

Willow: Yeah. Your idea of a compromise is to get your way. And you know what? That works for you. But it doesn’t work for Wiley.

Nina: My heart breaks for you. It truly does, Willow, for your losses. For Jonah and for Harmony. But my empathy for you does not overshadow my love for my grandson, and it definitely doesn’t overshadow my love for my daughter.

Nikolas: [ Sighs ]

Laura: How’s your hand?

Nikolas: It’s — probably just pulled something. I’m fine.

Martin: Oh, you could have a sprain.

Nikolas: Yeah. Courtesy of Sonny Corinthos. And are we all just gonna pretend that kidnapping Esme and intimidating her is just — it’s okay?

Laura: Nikolas, Esme is prone to exaggeration. And if I didn’t know better, I’d say that you were defending her.

Nikolas: I don’t believe that she filmed joss and Cam having sex and then framed Trina as the culprit. Do you?

Esme: Do you believe in me? I’m sorry, Esme.

Spencer: I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have doubted you. I don’t really know why I did.

Esme: You keep letting your supposed friends get into your head. Though I — I have to give Cam a little credit. I saw him at Kelly’s earlier when I was upset, and he was able to be nice to me, though. Unlike Trina and Joss. But as a reminder, I’m the one who’s always been there for you. I want us to get back to what we had.

Spencer: That’s what I want, too.

Esme: Oh, Spence. Can we just put all this aside and commit to each other again? Can we try to do that?

Spencer: Whoa, whoa, whoa. Wait, wait. Stop, stop, stop, stop.

Esme: Why are you stopping? It’s been so long since we’ve been with each other. What’s wrong?

Laura: I believe that Trina Robinson is innocent, and I can reserve judgment about Esme until after Trina has been exonerated. Okay? I’m sorry we’re reuniting under these circumstances.

Martin: As am I. I was supposed to meet with my nephew to discuss certain options regarding his marriage.

Laura: Oh, no. I don’t like the sound of that. But you’re gonna have to postpone it anyway, because you’ve got to go to G.H. And check out your hand.

Nikolas: Mother, I’ll be fine. I box.

Laura: [ Sighs ] Humor me, okay? Let me drive you.

Nikolas: Thanks. I have a driver.

Martin: Little sister, trouble certainly seems to follow our family, does it not?

Laura: [ Chuckles ] It certainly seems to.

Michael: You never knew the real Nelle. I have a feeling you’d be a little less protective of her if you did.

Sonny: Is there — is there a problem here? What’s going on?

Nina: Sonny, you don’t have to get involved.

Michael: No. Nina is just giving Willow a hard time, not that it matters, because I fully expect you to defend Nina.

Sonny: You know what, Michael? I already told you I’m gonna have your back during this visitation hearing. It doesn’t matter what you think of me or whether you believe me or not.

Michael: Oh, really?

Sonny: Yeah.

Michael: Okay, then here’s your chance to prove yourself. Why don’t you tell Nina to back off and stop harassing the mother of your grandson?

Carly: I’m not gonna burden Willow with this. She and Nina hate each other. They’re about to go head-to-head in court. Plus, I can’t be sure that Harmony was telling the truth. This could be one big manipulation.

Drew: Look, I’ve seen a few people die in my day, and when someone sees that it’s the end, the last thing they’re thinking about is manipulating anyone.

Carly: I get that, but I can’t take it on faith that Nina gave birth to twins in a coma and no one knew about it. Come on. I’m not gonna add to Willow’s grief. I’m not gonna put this on her plate unless I know for sure.

Drew: I see your point. Thank you. But there’s a catch. You have a sample of Nina’s DNA, but you don’t have one for Willow.

Carly: I know, I know. I gotta find some way to get into the gatehouse.

Drew: How are you gonna do that? You gonna go for a visit and just hope that Willow doesn’t see you stealing her toothbrush? I mean, it’s not like you live on the property.

Carly: You do.

Elizabeth: This is my wedding ring, which mysteriously ended up in my locker at work. We got our rings —

Chelsea: Elizabeth, stop. I know you’re trying to be helpful, but it’s actually better if I know less of the background information. That’s how we’ll know it’s really him. Come, sit with me.

Elizabeth: [ Sighs ]

Chelsea: Take my hands. Close your eyes. I’m listening to see if anyone is reaching out to us. If anyone wants their presence to be known [Shakily] While we…

Elizabeth: Chelsea? What is it?

Chelsea: There is a dark presence in this house.

Spencer: Of course I want to reconnect with you. Just not right now.

Esme: Why not?

Spencer: Because we have hit a very significant bump in our relationship, and as we come back together, we need to do it right. It needs to feel special and meaningful, not like some random, uh, spur-of-the-moment kind of thing.

Esme: That’s a sweet thought. Come on, Spence, it’s not like it’s our first time. [ Chuckles ]

Spencer: Esme. I’m serious. It might as well be our first time because we are making a fresh start. There’s not gonna be any more secrets. I mean, if we truly plan on spending the rest of our lives with each other, we need to start on the right foot.

Esme: Okay. What did, um, you have in mind?

Spencer: Well, you’ll have to wait and see. But I can promise you this — I have something very, very special in store for you. Okay. I got to go.

Esme: Wait. Um… was there anything else you wanted to ask me?

Spencer: What do we have here?

Spencer: No, I think we got it all figured out.

Laura: I’m so glad we had a chance to catch up.

Martin: Aw.

Laura: I really missed you. Oh, my goodness. I forgot to ask. How’s Florence?

Martin: Oh, mama’s good. Well enough. I think she felt I was smothering her a little bit.

Laura: Eh, it’s the circle of life, isn’t it?

Martin: I guess.

Laura: Yeah. The child becomes the parent.

Martin: Well, one thing’s for sure, she was happy to see me get back to my life.

Laura: Mm. So can I assume that things are good with you and Lucy?

Martin: [ Chuckles ] Better than good. I’m gonna end up in the hospital. That woman is a sexual panther.

Laura: [ Laughs ] That’s a little too much information.

Martin: Well, it’s a good thing that Valentin has signed off on our relationship, gave us his blessing.

Laura: Not that you should have ever needed it.

Martin: Eh, well, it makes things that much easier. And it would have made our reunion that much sweeter, but, ugh.

Laura: It would have?

Martin: Mm-hmm.

Laura: What happened?

Martin: Well, we were made aware of what happened to Elizabeth at the hotel.

Chelsea: I don’t think you’re safe here. There’s a darkness in this house.

Elizabeth: Well, then it’s definitely not my husband. He — he loved me. He loved my boys. He only wanted us to be happy. Who else could it be? Are you getting any other clues?

Chelsea: The presence is speaking to me. It doesn’t go by their first name. Perhaps the middle name? Or last name?

Elizabeth: Robert Frank. Franco?!

Drew: Oh!

Carly: Shh!

Drew: God, I can’t believe you talked me into this.

Carly: Oh, my God, why did you turn on the lights?!

Drew: Well, because, if Michael or Willow or anyone catches us, it’s gonna be very hard to explain what you and I are doing in here alone in the dark.

Carly: Okay, you do not have to be a part of this. You don’t. If you don’t believe in this and you think what we’re doing is not for the greater good, now would be your time to bail.

Drew: Just be quick, please. Just be fast.

Carly: I’ll be right back. Okay.

Drew: Faster. Hurry.

Carly: Okay.

Drew: Yeah.

Sonny: First of all, Michael, I’m your father. You’re my son. You don’t give me orders.

Nina: Uh, I have been a little hard on Willow.

Willow: A little?

Nina: I apologize, Willow, for some of the things that I said. I prolonged the conversation more than I should.

Michael: I’m still waiting, dad. Here’s your chance to say that Nina was wrong. Nothing? Oh. I guess, uh, when Nina asked you for forgiveness for what she did in Nixon Falls, she, uh… she must’ve really begged. Huh?

Sonny: At least she had the courage to apologize. Unlike someone else I know.

Michael: [ Scoffs ] I got nothing to apologize for.

Sonny: Of course.

Michael: Let’s go, Willow.

Esme: I’m excited for the big surprise. You know I love a grand gesture, just like you love making them. It’s just one of the reasons why I love you.

Spencer: Yeah, me too.

Esme: Better than I thought. Don’t take anything at face value right now.

Spencer: Britt, can we meet? It is very important.

Laura: Jake and Aiden are staying with me and Kevin, and I wanted Elizabeth to stay with us too. But, uh, well, up until just a few days ago, she insisted on staying at her own house by herself.

Martin: Huh.

Laura: [ Sighs ] I’m really worried about her.

Martin: Well, it may not be a comfort, but Lucy gave Elizabeth the name of her medium.

Laura: Her medium?

Martin: Yeah. And according to Lucy, she read you once upon a time. Uh, Chelsea Lam.

Laura: Yes.

Martin: Yeah.

Laura: Yes.

Martin: According to Lucy, Elizabeth believes she’s being haunted.

Elizabeth: My late husband was born Robert Frank. He went by a variation of his last name, Franco. But he loved me. He loved our family. He would never want to hurt us.

Chelsea: I’m sensing this person was born out of trauma and pain. Someone who was abandoned by their family. Someone who finally found a real family in these walls. That someone doesn’t much like this new family being made here now.

Finn: What’s going on with the hand?

Nikolas: I’m fine, really. I just promised my mother I’d get it checked out.

Finn: Ah. Hey, look, this isn’t easy for me to say, but… I appreciate what you’re doing for Elizabeth.

Nikolas: What are you talking about?

Finn: What am I talking about? She’s staying at Wyndemere until we figure out who’s been breaking into her house.

Nikolas: I missed a call from Elizabeth earlier this afternoon, but we never touched base.

Elizabeth: Fortunately, Nikolas asked me to stay at Wyndemere. As for me, there’s no place more secure than Spoon Island.

Finn: If Elizabeth’s not at Wyndemere, where the hell is she?

Chelsea: This presence is being very clear. They don’t want this new family to be formed in this house.

Elizabeth: No. No, I refuse to believe that. The Franco I knew, the Franco I loved, would only want to see me happy. Is he here now? Can he hear me? Tell him I believe he’s here. Tell him I’m ready to listen.

Nina: I’m sorry that you and Michael got into it. I — I hate being the wedge between you two.

Sonny: Well, you know, there’s no way around it, right?

Nina: Yeah. You’re gonna have to go for the jugular. I mean, at the hearing. I know you’re gonna support Michael in the courtroom. Things are gonna get pretty tense in there.

Sonny: [ Chuckles ]

Nina: I wish things were simple, like they are at Charlie’s and at The Savoy. Remember the other night?

Sonny: Yeah.

Nina: But they’re not going to be, not for a while. Sonny, maybe we should keep our distance till this is all over. And then we can come back and decide what’s next. If anything is next.

Sonny: When that day comes… …save me a dance.

Carly: I got it.

Drew: Alright. Y-you didn’t touch it, did you?

Carly: No, I didn’t touch it. I used the bag to pick it up.

Michael: Let’s wind down after — mom, Drew, what are you doing here?

On the next “General Hospital” —

Willow (to Michael): Can you honestly say cutting him out of your life doesn’t hurt?

Laura (to Finn): Under these circumstances, I think you’re right to wonder.

Elizabeth (to Chelsea): Tell him I’m ready to listen.

Ryan: So how badly have you screwed things up?

Nina: Why didn’t you slam the door in my face?

Drew: I’d like to say this is my fault, but it’s all on Carly.

Leo: Hmm. Oh, how could I forget?

[Dramatic music]

Sonny: Good morning, uncle vic.

Victor: What’s good about it?

Sonny: [Chuckles] So… any news on ciara and the baby?

Victor: Not yet. But if rafe and that brother of hers can whip that department into shape, I may get some soon.

Sonny: And what about maggie? Didn’t she bring sarah home from that florida clinic last night? Is sarah doing any better?

Victor: No answers. Not until I get mine.

Sonny: [Sighs softly]

Maggie: Sarah, you barely touched your breakfast.

Sarah: It’s yucky.

Maggie: Well, are you thirsty? Do you want some juice?

Sarah: Mm-mm. “I love you, sarah.” “I love you, eric.”

[Giggles]

Xander: Knock, knock. Is it all right if I come in?

Maggie: Of course, of course.

Sarah: You.

Xander: Yes, me. I heard you just got back from florida. Did you have a nice time?

Sarah: No. Mommy promised that we could go to universal studios, but instead, we’re back in boring, old salem.

Xander: Well, I’m sorry you didn’t get to go, but it’s good that you’re back in boring, old salem. It’s important.

Sarah: Why is it important?

[Sighs] You don’t still think that I’m gonna marry you one day, do you? Because that’s cuckoo.

Xander: No, I’m– I’m not marrying anyone.

Sarah: Well, I am. I’m gonna marry eric. And I’m gonna be mrs. Eric brady.

[Elevator bell rings]

Kayla: Abigail. Oh, my gosh. What a surprise to see you.

Abigail: I was hoping to see you. Congratulations on being reinstated.

Kayla: Oh, well, thank you. I have to say, I was surprised when seth asked me back, but thrilled.

Abigail: As is the rest of the staff here, I’m sure.

Kayla: Well, I don’t know about that exactly, but I was warmed by how many coworkers welcomed me back. But I’m sure you’re not here to talk about me, so what’s up?

Abigail: There is another reason. You know, aunt kayla, I cannot stop worrying about sarah. I know maggie brought her back from florida.

Kayla: Yeah, we admitted her last night.

Sarah: Is there any change?

Kayla: No, I’m sorry. There’s not. She’s the same as when she left. But I have run some scans, and I’m waiting to see the results and find out what we’re up against.

Abigail: Well, good news is, she’s in the best possible hands. I mean, thank god you’re back and burns came to his senses.

Kayla: Thank you. Like I said, I am thrilled. But I don’t like being indebted to such an unpleasant person.

Abigail: I hear you, ’cause right now, I am indebted to ava vitale.

[Dramatic music]

Gwen: Good morning, ava.

Ava: How’d you get in here? What are you doing here?

Gwen: What’s the matter? Aren’t you glad to see your old chum? Look familiar? It’s not for show, either. This thing is locked and loaded and full of crazy juice.

Ava: What are you gonna do with that?

Gwen: Oh, come on. You’re a clever girl. I’m sure you can figure that out. Besides, it’s thanks to you that xander knows that I gave this to sarah, so I thought perhaps you would like a taste of your own medicine!

Male announcer: Like sands through the hourglass, so are the “days of our lives.”

[Soft orchestration]

Ava: No, no! Get away from me!

Jake: What? What? Ava, what’s going on? You okay?

Ava: She’s not here. Oh, thank god. Oh, thank god she’s not here.

Jake: No, nobody’s here. You’re having a bad dream. It’s a nightmare. That’s all.

Ava: Yeah, it’s just– it’s just a nightmare. Oh, my god.

Jake: You said, “thank god she’s not here”?

Ava: [Mumbling] Yeah. It was gwen. She, um…she came after me for what I did to her, and she– she had this giant syringe, and she was just about to inject me with a–it’s just stupid.

Jake: Hey, it’s okay, all right? You’re safe. Everything is okay.

Ava: Oh, yeah.

[Phone rings]

Leo: Lady guinevere.

Gwen: My god, matty, it’s you!

Leo: Who were you expecting?

Gwen: I didn’t know. I mean–[Stutters] They don’t tell me who my visitors are. I knew someone was coming, but I didn’t know it’s be the only person in the whole world that I’d be happy to see.

Leo: Mm. I got you, my love.

Gwen: [Sighs]

Leo: I’m sorry I didn’t make it here sooner. I was busy dealing with the ugly and distressing fallout from the wesley-stark wedding interruptus.

Gwen: Oh, god, right. I know. I can’t even imagine how horrible that was for you. I mean, it breaks my heart knowing how they treated you.

Leo: Yeah, well, nothing I’m not used to, as you know.

[Inhales deeply] Being treated like dirt has been a recurring theme in my life, but I am resilient, like my bff guinevere. Hear us roar, girl.

Gwen: Oh, yeah, well, I don’t know if I bat in your league in the resiliency department, but I’ll take it.

Leo: Honey, it took me a while after my own miserable undoing to find out that abigail blew up your marriage, too. And I was just as heartbroken for you as I was for myself, and that’s saying a lot.

Gwen: Much appreciated, leo.

Leo: Okay, now that we have gotten our respective downfall postmortems out of the way, I didn’t just come here to see your gorgeous punim.

Gwen: Oh, this gorgeous punim?

Leo: Well, I came here to cheer you up.

Gwen: You already have cheered me up just by being here.

Leo: Mm, that is sweet of you to say, my love, but I am going to cheer you up in a more substantial way.

Gwen: Okay, go on.

Leo: See, since your sister, who is as mean as a junkyard dog, by the way, and her husband, that stud with those to-die-for blue eyes– I mean, have you ever seen eyes that are that blue? [Chuckles] And the body is not too shabby, either.

Gwen: Okay, can you just get to the point, leo, please?

Leo: Oh, right, right. Okay. So since chad and abigail dimera did a number on us– that’s putting it too mildly. It’s more like–I would say they blew up our lives. Wouldn’t you agree?

Gwen: I would, I would agree, but you know what? I’m actually still waiting on the part where you said you’re gonna cheer me up in a very substantial way.

Leo: All right, well, then get ready to be cheerful, lady guinevere of rizczech, because we aren’t going gently into that good night, my friend. That is not our style.

Gwen: What is our style, leo?

Leo: I was just about to get to it, all right? My friend, we are going to– drumroll, please…

[Taps fingers on table] Make those bitches pay. With depression, you just feel…blah.

Victor: Along about last april, I asked you if you were interested in taking over as ceo of titan. Last I checked, I still hadn’t gotten an answer.

Sonny: I know, and I am genuinely sorry, uncle vic, okay? There’s just–there’s been a lot going on. I’ve been dealing with–

Victor: I don’t want excuses. Just answer the question.

Sonny: This is a big decision for me to make.

Victor: And one that needs to be dealt with. Titan is sinking faster than the proverbial ship. We need a ceo.

Sonny: Okay, I understand that. Okay? So last time we discussed, I told you I had to talk it over with will first.

Victor: Oh, give me a break. And he said–he demanded that you come home. Needs his husband. Some sob story like that. Well…I don’t know why I expected any different. Kid’s always been clingy.

Sonny: What? He is not clingy at all. In fact, he’s the one who said I should take the job.

Victor: Oh?

Sonny: Oh.

[Knock at door]

Jake: [Chuckles] Who could that be?

Ava: [Grunts]

Jake: [Sighs]

[Sniffs] Gabi… oh, come on in.

Gabi: Well, well, look at you. Jake mentioned you managed to land in his bed, not that I give a damn.

Jake: Gabi, maybe you can come back later.

Ava: Yeah, how about never? That work for you?

Gabi: Now works. Oh, looks like someone didn’t get a lot of sleep last night. Why don’t you go do something about those bags under your eyes so I can chat privately with jake?

Ava: Yeah. I gotta get up anyway. And, uh, gabi? For the record, it was jake’s idea to share the bed.

[Awkward music]

Abigail: It was only thanks to ava that we finally have proof of what gwen did to me and sarah. And as happy as I am to finally have goods on my sister, it just makes me a little bit queasy, I suppose, that a former mafia princess is the person who helped me, especially this particular one.

Kayla: Well, you are smart to be wary. I don’t care how many times ava vitali says that she has turned over a new leaf in life. She’s dangerous. Maybe even more so if she’s giving you something that you want.

Abigail: I’m sure you’re right, which is why I will remain on my guard as far as ava vitali goes.

Kayla: That’s wise. On a bright note, though, at least gwen is paying for her crimes.

Abigail: Not all of them.

Gwen: So when you say “make those bitches pay”…

Leo: Okay, to sum it up, abigail screwed you, chad screwed me, true?

Gwen: Very true.

Leo: So we either sit around feeling sorry for ourselves, or we go after them in a similarly ruthless fashion.

Gwen: Payback.

Leo: The bigger, the badder, the better. I know for a fact that if we put our deviously brilliant minds together, we will make them regret going after matty, aka leo, and guinevere, aka gwen.

Gwen: Well, matty, aka leo, as much as I love the idea of getting revenge on my sister and her husband…

Leo: I thought you might.

Gwen: Yeah, see, but there’s just one tiny, teeny little problem.

Leo: Mm, what is that?

Gwen: Okay, I’ll give you three guesses.

Leo: Uh, okay. You’ve decided that you want to live an honest and honorable life from now on?

Gwen: Wrong. Two more.

Leo: You don’t want to collaborate with me because I’m so unpopular, you think it will reflect badly on you?

Gwen: Nope. Okay, for your third one, I’m gonna give you a little hint, yeah?

[Handcuffs rattle]

Leo: Oh, right. You’re going to prison.

Gwen: Ding, ding, ding, ding.

Xander: I talked to a lab tech on my way in.

Maggie: Mm.

Xander: He said they’re running tests on the antidote, and they haven’t found anything in it that could harm sarah.

Maggie: Well, that may be true, but no matter how many tests the lab runs, it’s far from a complete picture. A full panel of tests to guarantee that the drug is safe could take months or years.

Xander: What if sarah doesn’t have that kind of time, maggie?

Maggie: Oh, xander. We’re talking about a serum that was cooked up by a mad scientist. My daughter is not a lab rat. I mean, whether she’s 7, or 30 or 130, she’s my daughter. And all of these weeks spending all this time with her– as strange as it’s been, to find myself raising a little girl again, I’ve cherished it.

Xander: Are you saying that you don’t care if she stays a l–child for the rest of her life?

Maggie: Of course I care. I just don’t want to tempt fate. This antidote– it’s a complete unknown. Now, maybe it will help sarah, and maybe it won’T. But right now, this very minute, what I do have is my beautiful daughter, my healthy, my happy girl who answers me when I call her name. Don’t you, sarah? Sarah?

[Suspenseful music]

You never know

what opportunities

Gabi: You sleeping in these days? I know whatever ava wants me to believe, I know it’s not true.

Jake: Can it, gabi.

Ava: Huh. Still here.

Gabi: We haven’t even gotten started.

Ava: Don’t mind me. I’ve got an errand to run. I’ll see you later.

Jake: Mm-hmm.

Ava: Thanks for being so kind earlier.

Gabi: Aw, what’d you do? Did you bring her disgusting lasagna to bed? Bet she’s cooking up a storm for you, right?

Jake: What do you want?

Gabi: Right down to business. No “how are you?” “What’s new”?

Jake: How are you, gabi? What’s new?

Gabi: I’m fine. Thank you so much for asking. Oh, although, I’m sure you’re not very well, ’cause I read in “the intruder” that you were attacked by the devil in ben and sarah’s apartment.

Jake: Oh, yeah, that.

Gabi: I mean, it sounded pretty harrowing. Although it is “the intruder,” so I’m sure they exaggerated the details.

Jake: No, it was 100% accurate… and, uh, not the first time.

Gabi: My god–wait, so you’re saying that’s the truth, that johnny was possessed the day that you two fought at dimera?

Jake: Oh, yeah, you mean the day that you two clowns ousted me? Yeah.

Gabi: So that means the devil attacked you, too, then.

Jake: Yeah. We’ve established that. So if that’s everything, then there’s the door.

Gabi: No, it’s not– that’s exactly what I came here to talk to you about.

Jake: The devil?

Gabi: No, dimera. I’m here to un-oust you.

Jake: Excuse me?

Gabi: Jake, I want you back.

Jake: Huh.

Victor: Will told you to take the job at titan?

Sonny: He did.

[Exhales] Will and I and ari… I don’t–we miss salem. You know? And when I brought the idea of becoming ceo up with him, he–he didn’t think that splitting our time between phoenix and salem would be a problem.

Victor: I thought he loved his job at that newspaper.

Sonny: He does. But he’s been working on a lot of feature stories he can just file from home. Plus, ari will be out of school soon. It’s already may. You know, will could just bring her out here for the summer. Plus, I’m sure gabi would be thrilled.

Victor: Oh, well, as long as gabi’s thrilled.

Sonny: [Chuckles]

Victor: So does that mean that you’ll take it?

Sonny: I’m in.

Victor: [Chuckles]

Maggie: Sarah? Sweetheart? Look at me. Can you say something?

Xander: Sarah, can you hear us?

Maggie: Oh, god, xander. What’s happening? We gotta get– we gotta get kayla.

Xander: Yeah, I’ll go. You stay with sarah.

Maggie: Okay.

Kayla: So gwen told you that she killed your grandmother?

Abigail: After everything she did to sarah, to me, she made herself out to be the victim because I ruined her wedding, I ruined her life. So I think she just wanted to hurt me as deeply as she possibly could. And the way she said it, oh, kayla, it was so hateful. It was vicious.

Kayla: And you believed her?

Abigail: Well, when we got to the police station, then she reversed herself. She said that laura’s death was an accident. So, honestly, I don’t know what to believe, which is exactly what she wants. To never know the truth is the worst form of torture.

Kayla: It’s just diabolical.

Abigail: Tell me about it. And I know I can never rely on gwen for the truth, but the idea that she could be getting away with murdering my grandmother?

Kayla: I’m sorry you’ve gone through this. Well, that you’re still going through it.

Abigail: Yeah, but it’s not just me. She’s hurt so many people. The most important thing, though, is that she’s behind bars right now, where she belongs. And I guess there is one good thing that came out of it. She gave us the antidote for sarah.

Xander: Kayla! You have to help sarah. Now.

Leo: Okay, okay. So, yes, your going to prison could be a possible impediment to our plan, but, girl, you’ve always been so resourceful. I’m sure you will think of a clever way out of this injustice.

Gwen: Okay, matty, as much as I appreciate your encouragement…

[Scoffs] My resources and my bank account are running on empty at the moment. I don’t even have money for a lawyer.

Leo: So even without some sleazy lawyer, it’s not like you’re a low-life criminal. So you drugged your romantic rival. It was a crime of passion. People get off for those all the time.

Gwen: This is not just about sarah, my friend. I do have a few other charges to take off the list.

Leo: Abigail. Right. Did you really assault her and then look the other way as she was shipped off to a desert island?

Gwen: It was a very nice island.

Leo: Well, you wouldn’t hear me complaining. But back on topic. Whatever went down with abigail, she’s your sister. You’re still family. Can’t you get your dad to convince her to drop the charges? Play nice?

Gwen: Are you joking? I mean, did you not just hear yourself call her a mean junkyard dog? Not to mention the fact that when my wedding did blow up and I was arrested, I… I might have whispered something to abigail that would be quite hard to forgive.

Leo: Well, I hate to admit, I’m salivating to know what that was.

[Suspenseful music]

I told abigail that I killed her grandmother on purpose.

Leo: Did you? I was on an antidepressant,

Victor: About time you returned to your rightful place at titan.

Sonny: I–I don’t know what– I’m sc–I’m excited. You know? A–as– as satisfying as it’s been creating a company in mom’s honor, I miss titan.

Victor: Yeah, well, they’ve certainly missed your leadership. But you can’t rest on your laurels. Your buddy chad over there and the rest of the dimeras– they’re not gonna stop looking for ways to take us down.

Sonny: Well, ch–chad’s not the ceo anymore.

Victor: No, gabi is, which is even worse. Conniving little weasel came at titan once already. Can’t turn your back on her, not for a second.

Sonny: Oh, okay. Yes, well, I promise to be as cutthroat as possible with the mother of will’s child, the child that we are raising together.

Victor: Good.

Sonny: I–I was being, uh, sarcastic, uncle vic. Uh, but–but you don’t have to worry, okay? You don’t have to worry. I will not let my personal feelings for gabi interfere with my decisions. Okay? Business is business.

Victor: Well, just what I wanted to hear. With you at the helm, titan is gonna come back stronger and better than ever.

Sonny: Um, there’s also something else I should probably bring to your attention.

Victor: What?

Sonny: Leo stark has sworn revenge against me.

Leo: Did you really kill the old lady on purpose? You know me. I’m a vault.

[Ominous music]

Gwen: Ava. What the hell are you doing here?

Leo: She obviously came by to show off her 30 pieces of silver.

Ava: If you don’t mind, I’m here to see gwen.

Leo: Oh, but I do mind. See, I’m not sure you know how friendship works. So let me give you a tip. When a friend shares a secret with you, you keep it to yourself. You don’t blab it all over town, thereby ruining said friend’s life.

Ava: Gwen? May I speak with you alone?

Leo: Look, linda tripp, I’m not going anywhere. For all we know, you’re wearing a wire. So stop wasting our time. Get the hell out of here.

Gwen: Yeah, what he said.

Ava: Okay, look, I know you have no reason to want to talk to me…

Gwen: You think?

Ava: But I would not be here if it wasn’t important. Please. Just let me say my piece, and then I will go.

Leo: Don’t let the door hit you.

Gwen: Okay, ava. Go on then, say your piece. Let’s hear it.

[Tense music]

Jake: You want me back?

Gabi: As my employee, of course. Did I not make that clear?

Jake: Yeah, yeah. You made that abundantly clear. But–

Gabi: But what?

Jake: Is this some kind of joke? Are you, like–is johnny gonna pop out with a camera or something?

Gabi: No joke, jake.

Jake: The answer’s no.

Gabi: Well, I mean– will you at least hear me out?

Jake: [Sighs] You got five minutes.

Gabi: Okay, listen, I was only trying to get rid of you at dimera–

Jake: You mean, stab me in the back?

Gabi: Because I thought you were making moves to screw me over. I mean–you told me I have four minutes; would you please just let me say what I came here to say?

Jake: Go right ahead.

Gabi: Okay. Now that I know the truth, now that I know it was the devil, I want you back at dimera.

Jake: What’s your angle, gabi?

Gabi: No. What do you mean? There’s no angle. There’s no angle. Y–y–you’re great with the clients. People love you. Y–you’re great at what you do. Shin has some–has a soft spot for you, and you clearly haven’t found any other gainful form of employment.

Jake: So what, I’m just gonna trot back to dimera and work for you?

Gabi: Yes.

Jake: I’ll say it again. What’s your angle? There’s gotta be one.

Xander: What in hell could be taking so long?

Abigail: Kayla’s only been gone a few minutes. I mean, she’s gotta do a thorough exam. She might have to do more tests–

Xander: More tests? They haven’t got the results back from the first ones yet.

Abigail: Look, I know it’s frustrating, but this is the only way we’re gonna find out what’s wrong.

Xander: I’ll tell you what’s wrong. We need to give sarah that antidote. I mean, the longer we wait, who knows what’s gonna happen? My god, what if– what if sarah doesn’t come out of this? What if she gets worse? What if–what if she dies?

Abigail: Xander, whatever is wrong with sarah, I’m sure it is not life-threatening.

Xander: How can you be sure? You a–a doctor? You a scientist? You didn’t even see what she was like. She was fine, albeit as a seven-year-old, and then she was staring off into space, completely out of it.

Abigail: Well, maybe it’s– it’s temporary. It could be a delayed side effect of the drug.

Xander: What, her powering down like a faulty computer? Tell me, abigail, when you were dosed, did chad have to reboot you like his bloody laptop?

Abigail: Look… I know you blame me for what happened to sarah.

Xander: Of course i blame you. If you hadn’t been so determined to get revenge on your sister with that bloody syringe, none of this would be happening.

Abigail: And you have no idea how sorry I am.

Xander: What good does sorry do? Look, um, I’m sorry. At least you came forward with the truth that gwen was more than happy to send sarah to hell with a second dose. I mean, if it hadn’t been for you… at least sarah has a fighting chance now. So as angry as I am, I guess I owe you my thanks. Looking to get back in your type 2 diabetes zone?

Gabi: I told you, there’s no angle. It’s just a smart business move.

Jake: Gabi, you don’t do anything unless there’s something in it for you. And I don’t mean that as an insult. It obviously helped you get where you are. But if you want me to join you, you at least owe me the decency to be honest.

Gabi: Okay, fine. Ej is making noise about wanting his job back. A lot of noise.

Jake: Ah, so you’re scared.

Gabi: I’m not scared.

[Laughs] I’m scared? No. I just need to be prepared.

Jake: So you need a wingman?

Gabi: I need only what you can offer.

Jake: Oh. This is gonna be good.

Gabi: No matter how qualified I am, and I am damn qualified, I am not a dimera. Not by blood, and that’s what counts.

Jake: That’s where I come in.

Gabi: Look, when I’m going up against ej in that boardroom, I’m gonna need a dimera on my side. That’s where you come in. And yes, your skills seal the deal, but once the board sees what a great team we are, they’re not gonna pick ej over us. This could be the–the power that we’ve talked about.

Jake: [Sighs] A lot’s changed, gabi.

Gabi: You got something better going?

Jake: We just broke up.

Gabi: Yeah. And we’re adults, right? I mean, you’ve made it very clear that you don’t want to get back together. I swear to you, I will keep our arrangement platonic, very similar to what you have going on with ava. So what do you say?

Gwen: [Sighs] It’s all right, matty. You can go, really. Thank you for stopping by.

Leo: Are you sure about this? You want me to leave you alone with her?

Gwen: Yes, it’s fine, honestly, really.

Leo: Okay. But if you need anything, I’m here for you because that’s the kind of friend I am, unlike some people.

[Tense music]

Gwen: I have to say, the very sight of you makes me sick. Do just say what you have to say and say it quickly, and then get the hell out of here, please.

Maggie: Kayla just finished examining sarah, and she’s on her way down to the lab to rush the test results. Oh.

Kayla: Which I just read.

Xander: What do they say?

Maggie: Go ahead.

Kayla: I’m sorry. It’s not good. According to these latest scans, sarah’s condition is deteriorating.

Xander: You needed to look at a scan to tell you that? The woman’s catatonic.

Maggie: Xander…

Xander: I’m sorry.

Kayla: I know how frustrating this is for both of you. We had really hoped that the effects of the drug would diminish over time like they did with abigail.

Abigail: But I got a much smaller dose, and it was just the one time.

Kayla: And that seems to have made a critical difference. In sarah’s case, the increased dosage seems to still be acting on her brain chemistry. First, it made her believe that she was a child, and now it is sending her into a fugue state.

Xander: But the antidote could reverse that process, right?

Kayla: I can’t say for sure. But that’s what we hope. In fact, at this point, it’s our only hope.

Maggie: But the drug– it has–still hasn’t been fully vetted.

Kayla: I understand, maggie. But based on these scans and the rate of deterioration that is progressing, if we don’t intervene, sarah could end up in a permanently vegetative state.

Xander: You can’t let that happen.

Kayla: I know, maggie, that you do not want to expose sarah to any more drugs. And this is absolutely your call. But if we don’t do something, if we don’t try this, I’m afraid it’s going to get worse.

[Soft music]

Maggie: Give sarah the drug. I have moderate to severe plaque psoriasis.

Sonny: Oh, my gosh. I thought I should let ysonny.

Victor: Damn it, sonny. Leo stark is just the kind of trouble we don’t need.

Sonny: Look, it could just be an empty threat. All right, in fact, it–it most likely is. But since the last time I got involved with leo, we almost torched titan, I thought I should let you know. Especially since he already went after chad.

Victor: I’ll say. I saw the article in “the intruder.” Since when did chad start playing for your team?

Sonny: Oh, my gosh. He doesn’t play for my team.

Victor: Are you sure about that?

Sonny: Oh, my go–yes, yes, I am sure, and more importantly, so is chad. But look, uncle vic, if I’m gonna come back to titan, you have to promise me one thing, all right? You can’t believe everything that you read.

Ava: I came here to apologize.

Gwen: For sending me up the river? Aw, how touching.

Ava: Listen, I really am sorry, gwen. You have to believe me. Look, I just– I never meant to sell you out to the cops. It’s just, they had me dead to rights. And I needed a life preserver ’cause I was going down. And unfortunately, the life preserver was you.

Gwen: My god. Did you actually think that you could come here and make nice, and say that I served as your damn life preserver, and that all would be forgiven? My family hates me. Xander hates me. I’m going to prison. You have completely destroyed my life, ava. Now please get the hell out of here now!

Ava: Not quite yet. Because I did not come here to beg for your forgiveness. I came here to help you.

Maggie: It won’t be long, sweetheart.

Xander: God willing.

[Door opens]

Kayla: Ready?

Maggie: Yeah. Sarah, kayla’s here. She’s going to give you some medicine, all right?

Kayla: Not to worry, all right?

[Dramatic music]

Feeling sluggish or weighed down?

Leo: Perfect.

[Sniffs]

Sonny: Well, look who it is. You’re still in town?

Leo: Hi, sonny. I told you I wasn’t going anywhere.

Sonny: Yeah, well, I hoped you weren’t serious.

Leo: Oh. You know how much I love this burg. There’s still so much left to accomplish. Congratulations, by the way. “Sonny kiriakis named ceo of titan.” Guess that means you’re sticking around salem too.

Sonny: Yeah. I will be.

Leo: [Inhales] That is such good news. Now I’ve got you right where I want you. Mmm, you cute thing. Toodles.

Gabi: Well? My five minutes are ticking, so… give me the answer, and I’ll get out of here.

Jake: Okay. I’ll do it.

Gabi: Great. Welcome back to dimera.

Gwen: Help me?

[Scoffs] What can you do? Unless you’re planning on hiring me a lawyer.

Ava: Yeah, I’m afraid I can’t do that. But I can do you one better.

Gwen: How?

Ava: I’m gonna bust you out of here.

[Dramatic music]

Abigail: Did you–

Kayla: I gave sarah the antidote.

Abigail: So now what?

Kayla: Now we wait.

[Uneasy music]

Maggie: No news yet, I’m afraid.

Victor: Sarah’s a strong girl. She’ll pull through this.

Maggie: [Sighs] I hope to god you’re right.

Victor: Well, god and i haven’t always seen eye to eye, but in this case, I think he’s on our side.

Maggie: Mm. Well, I hope so.

Victor: You’ll keep me posted?

Maggie: I will.

Victor: I love you, maggie.

Maggie: I love you too.

[Sighs] No change?

Xander: Nothing yet.

Maggie: Shouldn’t something be happening by now?

Xander: Oh, believe me, maggie, I’m every bit as impatient as you, but we need to give the drug a chance– maggie.

Maggie: Sarah?

Sarah: Xander?

[Wondrous music]

Xander: [Exhales]

Maggie: [Gasps] Ah! Sarah, oh, my.

Steffy: We should’ve known. We should have known it was sheila all along!

Taylor: Honey, if we’re– if we’re– if we’re doing this, I– I have to ask, you– you suffered memory loss. Are– are you… are you 100% sure?

Steffy: Yes, I’m positive, mom. Sheila shot me, and she killed her own son.

Sheila: Did that really just happen?

[ Deacon chuckles ]

Deacon: Yeah. Apparently.

Sheila: Taylor called me… and invited me to steffy’s beach house. I’m– I’m not imagining that?

Deacon: It appears your luck is changing, kiddo.

Sheila: It– it’s almost too good to be true. After all this time, me, sheila carter, finally having an opportunity to be a part of her little grandson’s life, his family. I– I never thought I’d see this day.

Quinn: I knew it!

I knew I’d catch you.

Eric: You knew you’d catch me?

Quinn: Yeah.

You’re at the beach club,

right?

Eric: Yes. How’d you know?

Quinn: Well, you’re not

wearing a shirt, so I assumed

you were playing pickleball.

Eric: Yeah, I’m just about to take a shower. I’ve had, uh– I’ve had quite a workout.

Quinn: Well, that’s good.

Exercise is important.

Eric: Good for a man my age, yes, of course it is.

Quinn: No, for anyone. I’m just sorry I’m not there. I’m missing out on all the fun.

Eric: Is there something

I can do for you, quinn?

Quinn: No, I was just thinking about you and how lucky I am to be your wife. Uh, anyway, go shower and I’ll see you when you get back to the office.

Eric: I’ll be along shortly.

[ Laughing ]

[ Sighs ]

Carter: So you got a chance to speak to eric?

Quinn: Yeah. He’s at the beach club. But I got to say “hi,” and see his handsome face. Oh, that’s silly, right?

Carter: No, no, it’s sweet. It’s romantic. You know what? You should join eric there. Surprise him.

Sheila: I– I really should be going. I– I don’t want to keep taylor waiting.

Deacon: I hope you get everything you want.

Sheila: You really mean that, don’t you?

Deacon: ‘Course I do. Sheila, you’ve been through hell losing your son. You deserve to catch a break.

Sheila: But it’s– it’s– it’s– it’s so much more than that, deacon. To know that I’m going to be a part of my little grandson’s life, his– his family. I just wish that finn were here to share it with us. I’m always going to be haunted by that night.

Deacon: Look, you know you can’t change the past. This is the moment you’ve been waiting for. Come on! You’re not gonna be shut out of your grandson’s life anymore. This is what matters.

Sheila: Yeah, absolutely. Nothing else matters but hayes.

Steffy: I– I can hear the gunshot in my head. The bullet that killed finn. I can– I can see sheila with the gun.

Taylor: Honey. Honey, try not to go there, okay?

Steffy: How could I not?

Ridge: And you still think this is wise, confronting sheila?

Taylor: Your father’s right. This could get ugly real quick.

Steffy: It already is ugly. I want to look sheila in the eye and confront her for shooting me and killing finn. With golo, I’ve lost 13 inches in my waist.

Donna: You sure you have to leave?

Eric: Yes, I do. Yes, I do. Thanks. The uh, absence of ridge and steffy in the ceo office has left a big hole there. Carter’s been a real champ stepping up but, uh, ultimately–

Donna: Ultimately everything falls on your shoulders.

[ Laughs ]

Eric: Yes, it does.

Donna: I know, I know.

[ Both sigh ] How does this feel?

Eric: It feels like I never want you to stop.

[ Chuckles ]

Donna: Well, well, I’m very good with my hands.

Eric: Yeah, you’re very good at everything.

Donna: Yeah?

Eric: Yeah.

Donna: I’m glad you think so.

Eric: I do. I want you to know how much I appreciate you. Us together, you and me. You’re such a breath of fresh air for me.

Donna: I don’t know, eric. I’m so worried. I mean, ah, that near-miss earlier. It’s just, ah– it’s a reminder that we’re playing with fire. Especially with somebody like quinn, I mean, if anyone knows firsthand how volatile she is, it’s me.

Eric: We’ll be careful. No one’s going to get hurt. I have to go.

Donna: Until next time… my honey bear.

Carter: Eric’s been spending a lot of time at the beach club lately, huh?

Quinn: Yeah, and I’m proud of him, too. You know, he’s been really committed to his, his health, keeping his heart rate up, exercising. Which is why I came up with something to make sure that he stays committed. Come here. Look. It’s one of those health rings, you know? But I designed the surround. This way I can keep track of his heart rate, and his overall health. You know? I mean, the last thing I want is to lose that wonderful husband of mine.

Taylor: Okay. Sheila will be here any second.

Ridge: Everything is set.

Taylor: Okay and sweetheart, you are 100% sure that sheila–

Steffy: Mom, there’s absolutely no mistaking what I remember.

[ Knocking ]

[ Exhales ] Okay. Okay.

[ Ridge clearing throat ]

Taylor: Oh, sheila. Hi.

Sheila: Hi.

Taylor: Come on in.

Sheila: Thank you.

Taylor: Come in.

Sheila: Ridge. And steffy, I– I just assumed that it was just going to be taylor and me.

Steffy: We were all waiting for you, actually. Thanks for coming.

[ Heartbeat thudding ] Looking to get back in your type 2 diabetes zone?

Carter: I’ve seen rings like this before but none with this much style. Works just like any other the health ring, right?

Quinn: As– as far as collecting, uh, data, tracking eric’s body. Absolutely. I mean, this thing is monitoring his heart rate while he’s sleeping, while he’s doing physical activity– I mean, come on. It’s a great way for me to keep tabs on my husband, especially with the amount of time he’s spending at the beach club these days.

Carter: Right. Pickleball.

[ Laughter ]

Quinn: Pickleball.

Carter: Gotta say, quinn, I’m impressed, the way you’re looking out for eric’s health. And he will be, too.

Quinn: Oh, well, he would be if he knew I was doing it. But he’s not going to know. I won’t tell him.

Carter: No?

Quinn: No. He’s going to think that I’m worried about him. And I know he doesn’t want me to be.

Carter: Well, then it’s your well-intentioned secret.

Quinn: Well, actually, it’s our well-intentioned secret, because now you know.

Eric: Quinn. There you are.

Quinn: Hey, sweetheart, you’re back.

Eric: Yeah. And carter. How are you?

Carter: I’m well, and I’m late for a meeting. See you two later.

Quinn: ‘Kay. Hey! I missed you. I hope you missed me, too.

Sheila: You’re thanking me for coming.

Taylor: Uh, it’s not just steffy. We’re all glad you’re here.

Sheila: Really? And even you, ridge, because you’re usually anything but glad to see me.

Ridge: That’s true.

Sheila: So what’s so different about today?

Taylor: I think I can answer that. We have all experienced a profound loss with finn. You know, steffy’s husband, hayes’ father, your son. You know, even though ridge and steffy and I all share a very painful and disturbing past with you… ever since you’ve been back in L.A., You’ve– you’ve really made an effort–

Sheila: Yeah, but you know what? That is something that your daughter and ridge refuse to believe.

Taylor: I believed you. And– and whether or not you were reformed or not, the fact still remains that you are… hayes’ biological grandmother, just like I am. You know, it’s just– it’s– it’s been too much pain over the years.

Ridge: Yeah. As uh, as hard as it is, it’s just time for us to make it come to an end.

Steffy: My parents and I, we’re on agreement with this.

Sheila: I– when I was here earlier today, y– you didn’t want me here–

Steffy: Well, things have changed since then.

Sheila: I have wanted to hear you say that for so long, for– for what seems like forever. To not be looked at like I’m some kind of a monster despite what I’ve– I’ve done. I wish with my whole heart that what happened in the alley that night didn’t happen– I wish it didn’t happen and that finn was here with all of us right now. I know how valuable family was to my son. And now, it’s a family that– that wants to accept me into it? I thank you all. You– you have no idea how much this means to me. Most bladder leak pads were similar.

Quinn: I’m so glad you’ve been going to the club. Seeing friends, exercising, you’ve been really dedicated. But of course, that doesn’t surprise me. It’s exactly who you are. You are committed and devoted. And I have something for you.

Eric: Really?

Quinn: Mm-hm.

Eric: What?

Quinn: It’s a gift. It’s my way of saying, “thank you” for giving us a second chance.

[ Eric chuckles ] I designed it myself. I put a lot of thought into it. May I?

Eric: Of– of– of course.

Quinn: Perfect fit, just the way we’ve been for most of our marriage. I know that I slipped up, but it has just made me appreciate you so much more, eric. Your love? Your loyalty? Your fidelity? This ring, it’s going to give us a long, healthy, happy life together as husband and wife.

[ Liquid pouring ]

Deacon: Here’s to you, sheila. Finally getting what you deserve.

Sheila: Inviting me here. It just– it means– it means the world to me. So thank you. Thank you so very much.

Steffy: You don’t have to keep thanking us–

Sheila: Yeah, but I do. I know how much you’ve suffered, steffy. But now– now– and I don’t mean to make this sound insensitive, but this crushing pain that I’m feeling is something you’re never going to know.

Steffy: Actually, I do. I do know. All too well.

Ridge: My daughter suffered a devastating loss.

Taylor: Everyone who loved finn.

Sheila: No, I ju– I– I– I know, I just meant…

[ Sighing ] I’m– I’m so sorry that finn isn’t here for you and hayes. I wish that nothing had ever happened. But to, uh– to be taking that step towards getting to know my– my grandson, this family, that is like a dream come true for me.

[ Chuckles ]

Steffy: When I first came to in the hospital, I, um, I couldn’t remember. I– I had completely forgotten about finn and hayes. You know, what happened to him was so… uh, it was so painful that I must have um… uh, must have just blocked it out. You know, I kept it… buried. But uh… I remember now. It’s good, of course you do. Finn loved you, and his son very much. And I’d like to think on some level that he loved me, too.

[ Scoffs ]

Steffy: Yeah. I think on, on some level he did care about you despite all the pain you caused me and my family over the years. Somehow he was able to find a place in his heart to accept you as his mother. Just shows what a kind, caring man he was. And then that awful night happened where some sick lunatic shot me, and killed finn. Who could do something like that? What kind of sick animal shoots someone in cold blood?

Sheila: We’re probably never going to find out so… that’s why I think– I think it’s best that we honor his life, not his death.

[ Scoffs ]

Steffy: Honor his life? A life that was taken from him so abruptly? A father, who was taken from a little, innocent boy? From me? His wife. Like I said, I remember now. That’s right, sheila. I remember. I remember everything. I know what you did that night. How can you stand here, and talk about loving and honoring him when it was you? You shot him! You pulled out your gun and you killed him! You killed your own son. And then you shot me, and you left me to die! That’s the truth, sheila! It’s the truth. It was you. You’re a murderer! You’re a murderer!

Recap written by Christine

Sally and Victoria were at Society. Victoria hoped Sally didn’t take it personally, but she wasn’t in the mood for conversation. Sally understood that Victoria would need time to unwind after suffering one blow after another. Sally admired Victoria’s tenacity and found her strength and resilience inspiring. Victoria appreciated the compliment, and she didn’t expect it. She imagined Sally and Adam were disappointed that she and Adam lost their temporary titles when Victoria took over the reigns at Newman again. Sally said she was satisfied with being COO of Newman Media, and she and Adam were excited about their plans going forward. Victoria recalled Adam saying something similar earlier. Sally said the only one who lost was Ashland.

Victoria said Ashland was several hundreds of millions of dollars richer, thanks to Adam. Sally doubted the money made him any happier, since he gave half of it away. Victoria asked how Sally knew about that. Sally explained that she overheard Ashland talking to Nick. After Ashland made the transfer, he didn’t look happy. Sally said Ashland had a brief conversation with Adam afterward, and it was obvious to her that Ashland was broken up over losing Victoria. Victoria said that either Sally misread the situation, or Ashland was playing her and Adam, the way Billy did when he pretended to be falling apart. Sally said Ashland couldn’t fool her. Victoria tensed. “Not that I’m a better judge of character than you,” Sally hastily added. Sally said she’d been where Ashland was, so she could read him. Victoria wanted to hear more, so she invited Sally to sit.

Sally revealed that she too, pretended to be terminally ill to win someone’s love. Victoria didn’t realize there were two people on the planet who could stoop so low. Victoria understood why Adam liked Sally so much – they were two of a kind. Sally knew that wasn’t a compliment but she decided to take it as one. Victoria asked if Sally scammed some poor man into marriage. Sally said it didn’t get that far, and now Wyatt was so hurt, he cut her out of his life completely, just like Victoria was doing with Ashland. Sally knew Ashland’s pain and shame were real, because she’d been there. She never had the option of paying half a billion dollars for redemption, but if she did, she would’ve, because that was how horrible it felt to know you hit rock bottom and hurt the one person you loved more than anything. Victoria looked uncomfortable. Sally said she kind of felt sorry for Ashland.

Victoria said Sally’s sympathy was misplaced, and she was projecting. Victoria said Sally was trying to hold onto someone she loved, while Ashland was just using Victoria to get what he really wanted, which was full control of Newman Locke. Sally said Ashland lost all hope of gaining that, and he was still here, so he may have realized there was something more important than that. Victoria said Ashland hated to lose, and he enjoyed manipulating people, so she didn’t care what his intentions were. Sally said Victoria had every right to feel that way. Sally was at the wedding, and she saw Ashland make this amazing declaration of love, so it was hard for her to believe at least some of that wasn’t genuine. She said it didn’t matter though, because it was too late. She guessed Ashland should move on, like she did, and try to do better with the next woman in his life. Victoria agreed. Sally knew what she had with Adam was healthy and strong because she learned from her mistakes. Sally didn’t think it was fair that some other woman would benefit from all the time Victoria spent teaching Ashland how to be another man. She said Ashland would probably be haunted by the way he treated Victoria for the rest of his life, but he had no one to blame but himself. Sally hoped things got better for Victoria, and she left.

Victor and Michael met at The Grand Phoenix. Michael wanted to make sure Victor knew Diane was back. Victor wanted Diane to leave, and he said he was going to make sure she knew that everyone in the town wasn’t going to let bygones be bygones. Victor wanted to talk business, but Michael shifted gears and said Lauren had stepped up her efforts to get him to quit his job. “What the hell does this have to do with your wife? You’re my lawyer. Do I need to hire someone else?,” Victor said. Michael said no, so Victor changed the subject back to business. Victor said Ashland was still in town, and Victor wanted Michael to get rid of that SOB, permanently.

Michael wanted to know exactly what Victor had in mind. Victor assured Michael that his life wouldn’t be at risk. Victor wouldn’t stand for Ashland making Victoria’s life hell. Michael asked if Ashland did anything they could take to a judge. Victor said Ashland was just hovering and trying to impress Victoria with his undying love. Michael asked if Ashland was sincere. Victor’s point was that Ashland was becoming frustrated – Victoria was being cold to Ashland, and once he realized his tactics weren’t working, he gave half of his buyout to New Hope in Rey’s name. Victor said that of course Ashland’s tactics weren’t working.

Victor said Victoria had finally wised up, and she knew she couldn’t trust a word that came out of that SOB’s mouth. Michael knew that must be painful for Victoria. He wondered if Victoria was tempted to believe her love redeemed Ashland. Victor said no – Ashland fooled Victoria once, but he wouldn’t fool her again. Ashland wasn’t used to losing. Victor was worried about what Ashland would do in the face of Victoria’s continual rejection. Victor wanted to come up with a plan to protect Victoria.

Nikki went to Crimson Lights, and Ashland was there. She asked if he was lying in wait, hoping Victoria would come by again. He assumed Victoria told her that they spoke earlier about his donation to New Hope. He was gratified that Victoria didn’t object. Nikki thought Ashland also found it gratifying to see how much it hurt Victoria to see him. He said he didn’t want to hurt Victoria – every move he was making now was to ease her pain. Nikki said all Ashland did was lie. She told him that if he loved Victoria, he should leave her alone.

Ashland followed Nikki over to the condiment bar to continue the conversation. He didn’t want to upset her, but he couldn’t leave things the way they just did. He hated to think she was telling Victoria he never cared for her, because nothing could be further from the truth. Nikki was tired of hearing Ashland saying this. He admitted it was cruel to deceive Victoria, but he said he eventually realized what a treasure his wife was. He was trying to help Victoria understand that and maybe win her forgiveness. Nikki thought that would be even more cruel than what Ashland had already done. She said he was toxic, a narcissist incapable of putting people’s needs ahead of his own. She thought everything was a game to him – just another move on a chessboard. Her daughter deserved better. Victoria walked in and asked what was going on.

Nikki said she was telling Ashland what she thought of him and how selfish he was to keep inflicting himself on Victoria. Ashland apologized and said he should’ve realized that a mother as protective as Nikki wouldn’t want to her his apology, no matter how heartfelt. Nikki scoffed. Victoria said it wasn’t worth getting into it with Ashland. She didn’t care what Ashland did or where he went. Victoria continued to the counter to place an order. Nikki said she didn’t share her daughter’s indifference. Nikki said she and Victor didn’t go after Ashland before because it had been more important to get Victoria out of the marriage, but now they’d done that. Nikki said that if Ashland didn’t stay away from Victoria, Nikki and Victor would come up with their own way of solving the problem.

Victoria and Nikki went back to work. Victoria was tired, and Nikki suggested they go away to a European spa. Victoria thought Nikki wanted to get her away from Ashland. “Ashland who?,” Nikki replied. Victoria said they had too much to do right now, like officially changing the name of the company etc. Nikki understood that, but she thought Victoria needed a break, since she hadn’t had any downtime since she found out what Ashland was up to. Victoria appreciated the concern, but she wasn’t on the verge of a nervous breakdown – she was going to get through this.

Sally noticed Ashland drowning his sorrows at the Society bar. She went over and told him that Victoria had been sitting on that same stool earlier and in that same mood, only she’d hidden it a little better. Ashland asked if Sally found it entertaining. She said she found it sad – two people who missed each other – one too proud to admit it and one too proud to keep up the fight. He asked why she cared. She said she was a sucker for romance. She left. He looked pensive.

At the cottage, Sharon made some phone calls regarding deliveries for the wedding. Faith came home with the dry cleaning, and she tried to keep Sharon from seeing it. Sharon saw what Faith was hiding – a shirt Sharon had purchased for Rey when they honeymooned in Miami. Faith was sorry. She knew Sharon wanted to focus on the wedding today. When Sharon said that, she didn’t mean she didn’t want to talk about Rey at all. Rey was on Sharon’s mind all the time. That was true for Faith, too. According to Faith, the dry cleaner mentioned that Rey never picked up the shirt, and she’d asked Faith to say hi to him for her. Faith tearfully stated that she didn’t know what to say when she realized the woman hadn’t heard Rey died. It didn’t seem real. Every time the door opened, Faith thought Rey would be coming home. Sharon felt like that too. Faith said Rey had been there for them through all the scariest moments – like Sharon’s cancer, Faith’s transplant and Mariah’s kidnapping, and now that they were okay, he didn’t get to be here for it. It was so messed up. Faith and Sharon hugged.

Faith apologized because she’d been trying to stay positive around Sharon. Sharon didn’t want Faith to hide her feelings. It helped Sharon that people saw how special Rey was and they missed him too. Sharon mentioned that an anonymous benefactor made a large donation in Rey’s name to New Hope. The money would go to provide affordable housing and to fund things for at risk kids – causes that were important to Rey. Sharon said it was a beautiful way to make sure Rey’s kindness and compassion were never forgotten.

Tessa and Mariah were at home. It was still the day before the wedding. Mariah was on edge, expecting something to go wrong. Tessa brightly said she’d been the worrywart earlier, and now they’d switched places. Mariah asked how Tessa stopped worrying. Tessa just decided to be optimistic. That made Mariah even more worried that things would be jinxed. Tessa said that the wedding coming together had nothing to do with luck and everything to do with Mariah’s family coming through for them. Mariah said that her mom needed something happy and joyous in her life right now. Tessa was glad her and Mariah’s love could give Sharon that. There was a knock on the door, and Mariah worried there was something about to go wrong. It was Crystal, here to surprise her sister. Tessa and Crystal hugged.

If Tessa had known Crystal was flying in tonight, she would’ve met her at the airport with balloons and a maid of honor tiara. Crystal knew Tessa would be frantic with all that last minute stuff, so she found her own ride. Mariah and Crystal hugged, and Mariah commented that Crystal looked confident and strong, like a whole new person. Crystal said she’d grown up a lot in the time she was gone. She missed Tessa like crazy. Crystal was glad she got to be here for the big day. Tessa said that it was all Rey’s doing. Crystal asked how Sharon was. Tessa and Mariah talked while Crystal was in the shower. Mariah was going over to the cottage the night before the wedding. They were gleeful because the next time they saw each other, they’d be walking down the aisle. They kissed.

Faith loved the gift bags Sharon made, and she said she saw where Noah got his artistic talents. Sharon said they weren’t perfect. Faith thought that was fine because they were handmade, not mass produced. Faith likened the bags to Tessa and Mariah’s relationship – they accepted each other as they were and didn’t hide their flaws. Mariah came to the cottage for the sleepover. Sharon asked if Mariah was superstitious that it’d be bad luck to see her bride before the ceremony. Mariah said maybe a little, but it was mainly that she and Tessa liked some of the old traditions. Mariah mentioned that Crystal was here – Rey gave them an incredible gift. Sharon said he was still there with them.

Faith asked what Mariah was looking forward to most tomorrow. Mariah was most looking forward to marrying the love of her life. Faith was looking forward to dancing. Sharon mentioned that Faith would have to be in line for the bouquet toss. Faith said she wasn’t going to go nuts trying to catch it because she didn’t want to freak Moses out. Sharon was looking forward to every part of the day. She’d missed out on so many important moments in Mariah’s life, and she wanted to soak this up.

Later, Sharon was downstairs alone twisting her wedding ring. Mariah came downstairs for some tea to help her sleep. Mariah said for so long she was watching people pairing up, starting families and building futures. That was all she wanted too, but she was afraid it would pass her by. Mariah apologized for her insensitivity – saying that when Sharon just lost the person she thought she’d spend the rest of her life with. Sharon said that no part of Mariah’s happiness hurt her. Sharon thought that when Mariah had kids, she’d understand. Sharon thought the love Mariah found with Tessa was amazing. It was everything Sharon wanted for Mariah, and she didn’t want her to feel guilty even for a second. They hugged, and Sharon smiled as she held her daughter and looked over her shoulder at the wedding photo of her and Rey.

Back at the apartment, Crystal looked at the “stunning” portrait Noah painted of Mariah and Tessa. Crystal said that Noah must be over how this all started. Tessa said it was awkward at first, but they moved on. Crystal asked how the relationship between Tessa and Sharon was now. Crystal recalled that Sharon had issues with Tessa. Tessa admitted Sharon had good reason to, but they’d moved on and grown close. Tessa said she and Sharon had to lean on each other when Mariah went missing, and Rey was so supportive. Crystal couldn’t believe she was finally out from under those charges, thanks to Rey, someone she never even met. Things were better than okay in Canada, but she’d gotten used to feeling like she’d never be safe. Now she could go wherever she wanted. She wished she had the chance to thank Rey. Tessa said Crystal would’ve loved Rey. Crystal thought the whole family sounded great, and now Tessa would be one of them.

Tessa thought it was pretty wild that she was about to join this big boisterous loving family. Especially after the way she and Crystal grew up – in a chaotic and unpredictable home. Tessa had been thinking a lot about it because she and Mariah were going to have kids. Tessa wondered if that was crazy. Crystal said Tessa had the biggest heart of anyone she knew, and she’d practically raised Crystal. Tessa said it was Mariah’s idea. It took awhile, then Tessa realized adoption was the best thing for them. Crystal thought it would be perfect for Tessa to give a loving home to a kid in a bad situation and save them from growing up the way she and Tessa did. Tessa said she and Mariah both had bad childhoods, and Mariah’s was even worse – she grew up in a literal cult.

Tessa said she and Mariah decided they needed to know they had what it took to be good spouses and parents. Crystal asked what made the difference. Tessa said she and Mariah just decided they weren’t going to let this relationship fail – they almost did many times, but they always found a way to come back to each other and make things right. Crystal thought Tessa was talking about trust. Crystal had never experienced that. Tessa said if it happened for her, it could definitely happen for Crystal. Crystal though they were getting way too deep, when tonight was supposed to be about fun. Crystal decided to do Tessa’s hair.

Update written by Joseph

Lani goes to the police station with a worried look and thinks back to shooting TR. Lani tells herself that she was just trying to wound him but wonders why he’s dead then. Chanel arrives and tells Lani that she just heard Eli is awake, so she asks if he’s okay. Lani confirms that he is. Chanel says she’s so happy for her. Lani calls it the best thing ever. Chanel adds that she also heard about TR and asks if it’s true that Paulina really shot him dead.

Kayla and Steve sit together at home. Kayla talks about everything going on in town and says she’s trying to get her head around Lani’s birth father shooting her husband and then Lani’s mother shot her birth father. Steve comments that Paulina confessed to killing TR but she seems more like a woman who uses words not bullets. Steve adds that he doesn’t know how Paulina could’ve got her hands on what looked like a police issued weapon.

At the hospital, Shawn finishes a call and tells Ben that there’s been no sign of Allie or the car she was driving. Ben tells them that they better be off of the DiMera Crypt since Tony and Anna found the pacifier there hours ago which means Allie had his baby there and God only knows where she is now.

Ciara wakes up in her hospital bed and cries for her baby Bo. Ciara wonders where he is and what is happening to him right now.

Devil Allie holds baby Bo in the cemetery and declares that it’s Friday the 13th, a fitting day to fulfill her plans for him. Bo starts to cry. The Devil tells him not to cry as it will all be over soon.

Susan sits with Johnny in the living room of the DiMera Mansion. Susan looks at a photo of Johnny and Allie, saying she loves the picture of them and how when they were little, they used to be best friends. Susan encourages Johnny to think back to that time and try to get that connection again. Susan has Johnny look at the picture for help and urges him to try one more time. Susan talks about Johnny and Allie’s childhood. Susan declares that they need to find Allie before the Devil makes her do something that she’ll never come back from. Susan has Johnny close his eyes and says they are sending their love and energy to Allie.

The Devil calls baby Bo a handful and says he’s going to need help dealing with him and he has just the person in mind. The Devil calls upon Allie’s rapist, Charlie Dale to raise from the depths of Hell.

Johnny tells Susan that he’s concentrating as hard as he can. Susan says she feels something and then they both get a jolt, causing the photo of Johnny and Allie to drop. Susan says she fears no evil. Johnny asks what that was. Susan says they almost reached Allie but The Devil broke the connection. Susan picks up the photo, now with a cracked frame, and asks who else would have done this.

Charlie rises from his grave and comments on Allie. The Devil clarifies that he’s not Allie, he’s just taking control of her body. Charlie calls it a pretty good choice. The Devil says he did not summon him to talk about his time on Earth but he’s been chosen by him. The Devil talks about falling from grace out of Heaven and how Charlie also knows what it means to be passed over which makes him perfect for his purposes. The Devil orders Charlie to bow before him and swear his allegiance so he knows that he’s worthy to receive his instruction. Charlie then kneels and asks what he desires of him.

Ciara prays to her father, Bo, and cries that she needs his help right now. Ciara prays for Bo to bring her baby back to her. Evan/Christian then enters the room, dressed in hospital scrubs and says they meet again.

Ben tells Shawn that they have to have some idea where Allie is. Shawn insists that they found nothing in the DiMera Crypt or mansion and they set roadblocks around it, so not even the Devil will be able to travel with a newborn. Ben comments that the Devil seems to be damn good at getting help whenever he needs it, plus Evan is still on the loose…

Evan tells Ciara that he heard her prayer to Bo but he doesn’t think he’s coming for her this time. Ciara warns that he has 5 seconds to get out or she will start screaming. Evan grabs a scalpel and threatens to fix it so she and her dad can be together forever if she does that.

Lani tells Chanel that she can’t speak about TR since it’s an open case but confirms that Paulina was arrested. Chanel brings up hearing that TR shot Eli and not the drug dealer which Lani also confirms. Chanel talks about Paulina thinking TR had changed. Lani says it makes her sick to think about that man going through her children. Lani says TR only took care of himself and didn’t change one bit as he lied to everyone. Lani complains that everything out of his mouth was a lie and he wasn’t the only one. Chanel asks who else was lying.

Kayla questions if Steve thinks Paulina is lying about who killed TR and if it could’ve been a policeman. Tripp comes home and greets them. Kayla offers to make him dinner. Tripp says he’s okay. They insist but Tripp says he’s good. Tripp asks if there’s any news on Ben and Ciara’s baby but Steve says no.

Shawn assures Ben that the baby is his nephew, so he’s not going to rest until they get him back. Shawn decides to call Rafe to find out what he knows. Ben prays there is something so he can give Ciara some good news when she wakes up since this is killing her…

Ciara asks Evan where her baby is. Evan says he knows what it’s like not to know where his son is and blames Ciara. Ciara argues that Evan killed his baby’s mother and let Ben take the fall for it. Evan complains that Ciara rode to his rescue and now they are living the dream while he rots away in a cell. Ciara argues that Ben has changed while Evan hasn’t. Evan remarks that the baby is better off where he is instead of having Ben as a father. Ciara demands to know where her baby is. Evan tells her not to worry since she’s the one lying helpless here. Ciara warns him not to be so sure about that. Ciara talks about being right that they didn’t kill Ben and brings up how many times Evan has tried to kill them and failed. Evan argues that God was on their side in the past but he has his own backup now as The Devil is on his team so he thinks they are pretty evenly matched. Ciara tries to run but Evan grabs a hold of her and starts choking her.

Marlena goes to the DiMera Mansion which excites Susan. Marlena asks if they have heard anything about Allie and the baby. Susan says they got a message from the Devil which Marlena questions. Johnny explains that they were trying to make a connection with Allie but the picture dropped out of their hands. Susan thinks it was The Devil saying this is war and now God has sent them a weapon. Susan tells Marlena that there is no one she’d rather have on her side. Susan joins hands with Johnny and Marlena, planning to drum up all the love for Allie so they can save her soul. Johnny argues that they already tried. Marlena decides they will try again since she is one more person that really loves Allie.

The Devil talks to Charlie about fighting off exorcists, loved ones, and the internal struggles of tortured souls. The Devil declares now it’s time to rest so the new baby will be his vessel for his entire lifetime as he knows no other touch but his and doesn’t have the bonds of love to restrain him. The Devil plans to take residence in the baby and when he’s a grown man, he will make Hell on Earth through him. Charlie asks what he can do to assist him. The Devil tells Charlie that his chance to be a father was taken from him, so he’s giving him the opportunity to raise another child. The Devil says when the ritual is done, Charlie will take the child and keep him as his own.

Susan tries to get through to Allie and asks God to break the Devil’s hold on her spirit. The electricity in the mansion starts to flicker while the wind picks up outside. Johnny says he can feel Allie but can’t tell where she is. Johnny wonders if Allie is gone as the lights go out, but Allie’s voice says that she is there.

Steve assures Tripp that the entire police department is looking for Allie but so far there is no trace of her. Tripp talks about Henry missing her so much. Tripp remarks that Allie doesn’t care what happens to him. Kayla says that’s not true. Tripp admits he shouldn’t talk about her like that. Steve asks Tripp how he is doing.

Johnny asks if they all heard Allie’s voice. Susan confirms that they did and tells Marlena to talk to her. Marlena tries to speak through to Allie, saying they are here and can hear her. Allie calls out to Marlena and says the Devil is too strong. Marlena says they will help fight him but they have to know where she is. Allie mentions the Devil having Ben and Ciara’s baby. Johnny asks where she is now. Allie reveals that she is at Charlie’s grave at the cemetery and tells them to come before it’s too late.

The Devil places baby Bo on a pentagram symbol and lights candles all around it. The Devil orders Charlie to not let mortals disturb the ritual and if they do appear, this is the perfect place to bury them.

Evan continues choking Ciara until Ben bursts in and grabs Evan. Evan and Ben start to fight and punch each other.

The Devil summons all forces of evil to let the transference begin.

Chanel asks Lani who else is lying. Lani asks if she said that and claims she’s just running on fumes so anything could come out of her mouth right now. Chanel apologizes for pumping her for information. Lani says it’s fine since Paulina is her mother too and she deserves to know. Lani thinks back to Paulina telling her that she knows what she’s doing in taking the fall. Chanel then asks Lani what she deserves to know. Lani brings up Beth, who swore that TR didn’t use drugs or hit her, and wonders if he threatened her to keep her quiet. Lani recalls Beth saying she had something to tell her but she seemed scared. Chanel wishes Beth told her, then Paulina wouldn’t be in this mess.

Tripp doesn’t know what to say as he didn’t keep it a secret that he loved and trusted Allie, but she couldn’t tell him about how she felt about Chanel and that she cheated on him. Kayla knows how much that hurt him when he found out. Tripp says he’s fine and dealing with it. Steve asks if he’s sure. Steve knows Tripp is tough but encourages that he doesn’t have to keep it inside and pretend it’s not bothering him. Steve advises Tripp to talk to them because he won’t feel better until he does.

Johnny declares that he has to get to the cemetery. Marlena says not by himself. Johnny argues that Allie always talks about how tough she is, but they heard how scared she is, so she needs help. Johnny shouts that she is his sister and he’s going to get her. Susan warns him that the Devil could get him again. Johnny doesn’t care but Marlena says they do. Johnny refuses to let the Devil keep Allie or hurt the baby. Johnny tells them to call Ben and the cops and tell them where to go as he rushes out of the mansion.

Evan and Ben continue fighting. Ben knocks Evan down and demands to know where his kid is. Evan fights back and grabs the scalpel as he holds it to Ben’s throat. Evan argues that God doesn’t dirty his hands with guys like them as they are both going to Hell but he’s going to make sure he sends Ben there first.

The Devil continues the ritual and declares that he takes baby Bo’s uncorrupted soul as his own.

Evan tells Ben to say hi to Jordan for him. Ciara recovers and knocks out Evan by hitting him from behind with a hospital tray. Ciara and Ben then embrace.

Charlie asks The Devil if the ritual is done. The Devil declares that he is leaving this form. Charlie asks what he’s supposed to do with Allie once he leaves her body. The Devil responds that he has no use for Allie anymore, so he can do what he wants. Johnny then arrives and declares he’s not going to lay a finger on her.

Tripp talks about growing up feeling like he didn’t belong anywhere until Steve and Kayla found him and took him in, otherwise he doesn’t know who he would be now. Tripp knows he put them through hell for awhile but here they are. Tripp thought he would have what Steve and Kayla have as he saw him and Allie raising Henry together and having their own kids but then right after he asked Allie to marry him, Johnny told him about her and Chanel. Steve reminds Tripp that it wasn’t Johnny, it was The Devil’s work. Tripp asks why it matters since it was the truth. Tripp knows what Allie must be going through but he wishes she would’ve been honest with him. Tripp talks about taking care of her after what Charlie did to her and she knew how he felt about her and Henry. Tripp wonders why Allie couldn’t just level with him or else he wouldn’t have made all those plans. Tripp thought it would be them against the world and that nobody could ever hurt Allie again.

Johnny tries to charge the Devil but he uses his powers to force him back, saying he’s not welcome in the circle and he’s not happy with all of Johnny’s attempts to interfere with his plans. Johnny says that’s too bad. The Devil warns that he’s playing with fire. Johnny says he underestimates the love between he and his sister and that he doesn’t get his family. Johnny remarks that his two grandmas could take him on which the Devil laughs at. Johnny tries to get through to Allie and urges her to fight. The Devil tells Charlie that he knows what to do with this resistance. Charlie approaches Johnny and says that he does. Johnny recognizes Charlie’s picture as the pig who raped his sister. Johnny declares that he wanted to kill him when he found out and now he’s finally got his chance.

Shawn enters Ciara’s hospital room and arrests Evan. Ciara assure they are okay. Ben says they will be when Evan tells them where to find their baby. Evan laughs at them thinking they can stop the Devil. Ben points out that he stopped Evan. Evan says they are too late as by now, the Devil is the proud owner of their baby’s soul.

Marlena calls Ben and leaves a message to call her as it’s urgent. Marlena wonders if they should go help Johnny but Susan doesn’t know what help they would be. Susan declares that this is Johnny’s fight so they should let him and the police take on The Devil.

Evan declares that The Devil is not going to kill their son, he’s going to be his son. Evan announces that once the Devil becomes one with baby Bo, he’ll be unstoppable as he will be raised from within on the guy that wrote the book on wickedness. Evan argues that they fixed it so that he couldn’t see his kid while now they will have ringside seats to their son making the whole world miserable. Ben screams at him, asking where his baby is. Shawn argues that Evan will say anything right now as he holds Ben back. Evan says all he knows is the time, but not the place. Evan reveals that the Ritual of Transference is happening right now. Shawn says he’s taking Evan to the police station but urges them not to give up hope as they are going to find baby Bo. Shawn takes Evan away as Ben hugs Ciara while she cries.

Chanel wants to see Paulina but Lani says she’s going through the booking process right now and can’t have visitors for awhile, so maybe tomorrow. Chanel cries that she can’t do a damn thing to help the people she cares about, especially when they are in big trouble. Lani guesses she’s talking about Allie as she heard she ran off with Ciara’s baby. Chanel doesn’t even know who Allie is anymore. Lani acknowledges that Chanel has been through a lot too. Chanel remarks that Johnny and Allie did a number on her but guesses that now that she knows it wasn’t them doing it all, it helps her a little. Lani says she has to get back to Eli at the hospital and invites Chanel to come with her which she accepts. Chanel calls it nice to have a sister as they exit the station together.

Tripp tells Steve and Kayla that no matter how he feels about Allie, he doesn’t want anything bad to happen to her. Steve notes that they never had a chance to straighten things out. Tripp doesn’t think things will ever get straightened out. Kayla suggests they might turn out to be friends but Tripp is unsure of that. Kayla wonders what would’ve happened with them if the Devil hadn’t played with their lives. Steve points out that Chanel was a happily married woman and made her choice which Allie knew. Kayla adds that it maybe allowed Allie to fully commit to Tripp. Tripp finds it hard to think of what might have been since he and Chanel are friends now which he never saw happening. Kayla encourages that people and feelings change. Tripp mentions that he was telling Chanel that maybe it gotten too much for Allie. Steve brings up all that Allie has been through while Kayla notes that she had a rapist’s baby. Tripp says that Allie’s life went sour when she met Charlie, while he thought he would make things right for her again. Tripp questions why this had to happen to her. Steve says he doesn’t know. Kayla thinks part of Tripp still loves Allie and wants to help her. Tripp worries that Allie is in a place now where nothing he does will make a difference.

Ben gets his phone and sees Marlena called six times so she must know something. Ben calls Marlena back and asks her what’s going on. Marlena reveals that they found Allie heading for the cemetery but she doesn’t know for sure about the baby. Ben thanks her and hangs up. Ciara tells Ben that he’s not going without her. Ben reminds her that she just had a baby. Ciara declares that she’s going to be there when they save him and Allie. Ciara tells Ben to help her find her clothes.

Charlie grabs Johnny and says he’s not getting away as he had a lot of time to work out in Hell. Charlie then rams Johnny’s head in to a statue and knocks him out. Charlie asks the Devil if he should finish him off now.

Shawn brings Evan to the police station and says the van to prison is on it’s way. Evan says he will sit there and think about Shawn, Ben, Ciara, their families, and the whole town as they look on helplessly as his nephew and the rest of the world go straight to Hell.

Tripp guesses Steve and Kayla were right that he was holding a lot of that in. Kayla is glad he opened up to them. Steve assures that they will find Allie and help her. Kayla declares that she will be saved because so many people love Allie Horton. Tripp admits he’s one of those people even after everything that happened as he’s still in love with her.

Marlena and Susan hold the photo of Johnny and Allie. Marlena prays for God to watch over them and bring them home safely tonight and deliver them from evil.

The Devil tells Charlie that once the Ritual of Transference is completed, he can get rid of Johnny and Allie. The Devil then places his hands on baby Bo but Ben and Ciara ride up on their motorcycle. Ciara tells The Devil to get the hell away from her son.

Young & The Restless Update

Y&R logo

Recap written by Christine

Nick gave Sharon a ride home from the airport, and she got a big hug from Faith. Sharon was in good spirits after her trip to Miami for Rey’s memorial. Faith wished she’d gone with Sharon, but Sharon said that it was the right decision to go alone. Sharon would tell Faith all about the memorial later, but now she wanted to talk about the wedding, which was tomorrow. Faith and Nick exchanged a look. Sharon assured them that she was okay, and she said they had to turn their attention to the wedding. Nick wanted to talk to Sharon alone, so Faith went upstairs.

Sharon was bowled over when Nick told her that someone wanted to donate 250 million dollars to New Hope in Rey’s name. She asked who the donor was, and Nick said it was Ashland. He assured her the donation would be anonymous. He’d been struggling with this. He couldn’t stand that creep, and he knew Ashland was only doing it to get Victoria’s forgiveness. “Just take the money, Nick” Sharon quickly urged. She knew he hated Ashland, and she did too, but Rey would want to see something bad turned into something good. She thought this was poetic justice.

Mariah and Tessa were at home, and they were looking forward to their big day. They went through a mental checklist – everything was all set. Mariah said she had to practice saying their vows without dissolving into tears. Mariah panicked because she never confirmed with Kyle that he’d officiate the wedding. Tessa was sure Devon would do it. Mariah loved Devon, but she had her heart set on Kyle. Noah showed up, and then they all left for the Top of the Tower to see how he’d set things up for the wedding. Mariah, Tessa and Noah returned to the apartment. The couple was very impressed with what Noah had done to Top of the Tower. They said it Noah asked if they didn’t trust him to make something special. Mariah said of course they did, but this was beyond. Tessa asked how they could ever thank Noah. Noah joked that their undying gratitude was more than enough.

Kyle showed up wanting to talk, so Tessa and Noah went downstairs to Crimson Lights. Mariah knew Kyle had a lot on his plate, but she pleaded with him not to say he was going to disappoint her. He’d planned to go to Milan tonight. He really wanted to get back to Summer and talk to her about Diane. He’d been so distracted, he forgot about the wedding until he started packing. Mariah thought Kyle would miss the ceremony, and she was disappointed, but she understood. Kyle said he talked to Summer, and she convinced him to stay for the wedding. She’d cleared her schedule, and she was flying to Genoa City to support him with his mom. Excited, Mariah said that this meant Summer was coming to the wedding and that Kyle could officiate it.

Kyle wasn’t thinking clearly right now, so he wasn’t sure he was in the right head space to conduct a wedding ceremony. He was worried he’d mess up. Mariah appreciated Kyle’s candor. She said he could never do anything to disappoint her. He said he’d never intentionally do that, but… Mariah said no buts. She thought that tomorrow would be a perfect wait to clear his head of some of the turmoil he was in. she said he’d be launching them into this amazing journey of, bonding, family, motherhood… She apologized for saying motherhood, but he didn’t mind. He thought Mariah and Tessa would make amazing moms. She said that none of this would be possible without him. She’d never forget what he did for them – pushing them into that first date. She said it would be like the magical completion of the circle, and magic was way too rare to say no to. Kyle agreed to do it. He was honored to be asked, and he didn’t want the fact that he’d had to be pushed into it to make it seem like he wasn’t thrilled to be involved. He promised he’d get ordained and be ready for tomorrow. She said it would just be a few clicks on the internet, and they had a script for him. He said he might want to say a few words too, and she was fine with that. She added that she had his back while he was dealing with his mom.

Downstairs, Tessa wondered if Mariah would be able to get Kyle to officiate. Tessa was going to have her sister at the wedding, and she wanted Mariah to have everything she wanted. Noah commented on how Tessa and Mariah always wanted the best for each other. Tessa first knew she was falling in love when she wanted something for someone else more than she wanted anything for herself. He hoped this was the most extraordinary wedding ever. She said the Top of the Tower looked magical. She was glad they got past the awkwardness. He was glad too, and he gave her credit for being so open and honest with him and Mariah. He’d always love Tessa as a friend and as the woman who made his sister so happy. She said his friendship meant so much to her, and soon they’d be family.

Later, Sharon, Tessa, Faith and Noah came upstairs. Kyle was already gone. Everyone was concerned because Sharon was up and about instead of resting. She wanted them to stop worrying about her. She wondered if it’d help if she told them about Rey’s service. She said it was lovely, and it helped to have that time with Celeste, Lola, Arturo and their extended family and friends. Everyone at the Miami service understood why Sharon came alone, and they all had nice things to say about Rey. Mariah asked how Lola was. She was excited about the wedding and sorry she couldn’t be there. Sharon said no more sorrys and sadness – all that mattered was pulling off the perfect wedding for their beautiful brides – Rey would want nothing less. Tessa was excited when Mariah said Kyle would officiate. Faith suggested they give Sharon a job to do. They put her on gift bag assembly, and she was happy to do it. Sharon brought a basket of things for Tessa and Mariah to use to pamper themselves – face masks, tea, nail polish etc. they both appreciated it. Sharon wanted the brides-to-be to relax and accept that everything would be taken care of. The guests left to take care of the last minute issues. Mariah and Tessa marveled that tomorrow they’d be bonding their lives together forever.

Victoria approached Ashland at Crimson Lights. She said Nick told her about his offer to donate half his buyout to New Hope to be used for work done in Rey’s name. He was meeting with Nick later, to hear his decision, and he hoped Nick would take the money. Victoria agreed – that money could do a lot of good in the right hands. It pained him that she no longer thought of his hands as the right ones. She appreciated his generous gesture, but after everything he’d done, she was sure he could understand how hard it was for her to believe he didn’t have an ulterior motive.

Ashland didn’t blame Victoria for being suspicious. He said his motivation was guilt. He felt he had to pay back the wrong he did to her and to her family and for Rey’s death. He knew it was an accident, but none of them would’ve been on the road that night if not for the pain he caused Victoria. Victoria revealed that Rey died of a heart attack, and that was what caused the accident, so Ashland didn’t need to feel guilty, at least not about that. He thanked her for telling him that, when she could’ve just let him blame himself. She reasoned that he had enough to feel guilty about. She wondered if he’d want to withdraw his offer to Nick, but he said Rey was a good man who deserved to be honored.

Victoria went back to work. Nikki dropped into the office for the coffee Victoria was supposed to bring her from Crimson Lights. Victoria admitted she forgot to buy it, because she got distracted by Ashland. Victoria brought Nikki up to speed on her talk with Ashland. Nikki sensed Victoria was haunted by her feelings for Ashland. Victoria said she’d pushed her feelings for him away. Nikki suspected that Victoria had just pushed them down, not away, which would only make the emotional turmoil worse later. Nikki thought Victoria should deal with her feelings now before they ate her up inside.

Victoria admitted part of her still loved Ashland. That mortified her. The worst part was that she kept wondering what if Ashland was actually telling the truth for the first time in his life. What if falling in love with her changed him and he regretted what he’d done? Those questions made Victoria feel week and humiliated. Nikki thought it was perfectly reasonable for Victoria to feel that way. Nikki said Victor had to show her a lot of proof before she could believe Ashland had actually done all these things, because his love for Victoria seemed so sincere. Nikki said Ashland’s love for Victoria might be the only true thing about him, but if that was the case, was it worth complete forgiveness? Victoria said of course not – nothing could undo the wrong Ashland did to all of them. “What about saving your life?,” Nikki asked.

Ashland and Nick met at Society. Nick accepted the money on the condition that the donation remain anonymous. He said that if Ashland was truly doing this out of the goodness of whatever heart he claimed to have, and not to repair his disgraced reputation, that shouldn’t be a problem. Ashland always intended to keep the donation anonymous, so he was fine with the stipulation. Nick said this didn’t change how he felt about Ashland. Ashland wasn’t surprised. Nick knew Ashland was only doing this to make himself look better in Victoria’s eyes. Ashland said Nick was making assumptions. Nick thought that if Ashland truly loved Victoria, he’d leave forever and give Victoria a chance to rebuild her life. Ashland refused to leave town. He said Harrison was here, and he planned to spend as much time with him as possible. Ashland wasn’t going to hurt Victoria any more than he already had. He was focused on improving himself, and this donation was a small first step toward making amends. Nick didn’t buy it or trust Ashland. He and he family weren’t going to let Ashland maneuver his way back into Victoria’s life. Ashland stated that he wasn’t intimidated by Nick. He said that the Newmans already closed ranks around Victoria and tried to run him out of town, and it didn’t work. Nick said next time, they’d get more creative and more extreme.

Sally dropped into Adam’s office. She wanted to discuss the budget, unless he’d decided to leave the company. He decided he couldn’t walk away from his family or the chance at ever running Newman Enterprises. It frustrated him that Victor couldn’t see that Victoria didn’t deserve the position after everything that went on with Ashland, but he felt that if he quit, she would win. Adam wanted to be the sole CEO of Newman Enterprises. Sally recalled Adam saying he had that job before, and it didn’t stick, so she said failure wasn’t an option this time. She asked how she could help him pull this off. He had the perfect plan, and Ashland was the key.

Sally wanted details. Adam initially thought that getting Ashland out would make him a hero in his dad’s eyes. That didn’t happen, unfortunately. Adam said that even after everything Ashland did, Victoria still seemed conflicted. Sally thought that was understandable, since you couldn’t just turn off your feelings. Adam said Ashland saved Victoria’s life when he pulled her out of a burning car. He didn’t think Ashland orchestrated that, but he thought Ashland would use it to try and win Victoria back. Sally suggested that Ashland’s love for Victoria was real, since betraying someone and loving them weren’t mutually exclusive. Adam thought it was more about ego and being rejected than love. Regardless, if Ashland won Victoria’s love and trust, either he’d take her as far away from Victor and all things Newman as possible, or Victor would be so angry with Victoria for taking Ashland back that he’d question her ability to run the company. Then the door would be open for Adam. Sally said all this was predicated on Ashland winning Victoria back. Adam suggested he and Sally help reignite Ashland and Victoria’s romance.

Sally was intrigued by the plan, but she was worried because Victor would turn on Adam if he found out about the scheme, and there would be no coming back. Adam said they’d have to be subtle, and they certainly couldn’t collude with Ashland. Sally agreed, since they knew Ashland couldn’t be trusted. Adam said the genius of the plan was they didn’t have to do anything overt to pull this off, and no one would ever know it was them.

Sally and Adam went to Society, and took a table near the bar, which was where Nick and Ashland were sitting. Ashland wondered if this had something to do with Nick’s warning that the Newmans were going to get more extreme. Nick wanted to get moving on the donation. Ashland made a call and transferred the money to New Hope. Nick thanked Ashland for the donation and said at least one good thing would come out of his lies. Nick left. Adam overheard everything. Adam said Ashland’s donation was a clever power play, but it didn’t mean Victoria would take him back. Ashland said this was none of Adam’s damn business. Adam thought that was rude to say, since he was the reason Ashland had a half a billion dollars.

Ashland regretted taking the money, since it wasn’t worth giving up the woman he loved. Adam didn’t buy that, he noted that Ashland wasn’t upholding his end of the bargain. Ashland pointed out that he agreed to leave the company and have his marriage annulled. Ashland asked what the problem was. Adam said that the problem was that Victoria fell for Ashland and she didn’t drive him out of town after she found out what he’d done. He said it was like Victoria was still holding onto the fantasy of the guy she thought she fell in love with. Ashland left. Sally could tell Ashland was affected by the hint that Victoria still had feelings for him. Sally said the best part was the fact that Adam made it look like an insult. Adam was going to go plant another seed. He said he’d see Sally at the office.

Victoria and Nikki continued their discussion at Newman Enterprises, and they didn’t notice Adam walk in. Victoria said that she was still trying to figure out what it meant – Ashland rescuing her. They finally noticed Adam. He said he couldn’t get over the lack of gratitude for getting Ashland out of her life and out of the company. Victoria told Adam that he’d never thrive in business if he didn’t get past his continual need for positive reinforcement. He said he’d come to tell her that he wouldn’t fight her on not naming him co-CEO, and he wouldn’t try and get Victor to change his mind. He congratulated Nikki and said he looked forward to working with them both. He left. Nikki asked what the hell that was about. Victoria had no idea, but she could use a break from all things Newman. She left to get fresh air.

Victoria wasn’t using her cane anymore, but she still had a limp as she entered Society and took a seat at the bar. Sally made a beeline to her and asked how she was doing since the accident. Victoria said she was healing, then she turned away from Sally. Sally persevered and continued to try and strike up a conversation. Sally was impressed Victoria was back to work. Sally assumed Victoria was here to escape the office intrigue. She wanted to talk with Victoria and offered to buy her a drink.

Nick and Sharon met at her place, and he told her about taking the money, even though he hated being near Ashland. She thought he did the right thing. She couldn’t wait to go to the first ribbon cutting ceremony. She knew Rey would be smiling down at them. He asked what she was doing today. She told him about the gift bags she was going to make. Faith was out getting the supplies. Nick wanted to know how Sharon was really doing. Sharon said it was hard in Miami at first, seeing how deeply other people missed Rey. She bonded with Rey’s family over their grief. Lola was excited about the wedding. Arturo’s little boy was too young to understand why everyone was together; he just knew he was surrounded by people he loved. Sharon said that was a reminder that they had to celebrate all they had right now, because life went on. That was why she was putting all her energy into making sure Mariah and Tessa had an amazing day. He was proud of her and her strength. Sharon said she and Nick had been through hell more than once, and they always made it through – what other choice was there? She thought this wedding – this joyous life-affirming event couldn’t happen at a better time.

Update written by Joseph

Anna looks to sneak out of the DiMera Mansion with her bags packed but Tony catches her at the door and questions where she is going.

Gwen questions Ava wanting to bust her out. Ava points out that they did it before when they helped Kristen escape. Gwen asks what the catch is. Ava says there’s not one as she knows she let her down and she’s trying to make up for it. Ava asks if Gwen is in.

Sarah recognizes Xander in the hospital. Xander excitedly asks if it’s really her. Sarah confirms that it is and asks Maggie what’s going on. Maggie notes that her voice is normal and asks if this means she’s alright. Sarah says she’s fine and asks why they look like they are going to cry. Xander declares that they are both so happy. Xander exclaims that it worked and hugs Sarah. Xander says she is herself again. Maggie is thankful they gave her the antidote. Sarah questions what they are talking about. Xander promises to explain everything soon. Sarah asks what’s going on and why she’s in the hospital. Xander reveals that she was drugged but thankfully the antidote worked. Sarah questions that but Maggie says it’s a long story and they will get to it at some point. Xander declares that all that matters is that Sarah is with them again and herself, so they are very grateful. Xander hugs Sarah again.

Gwen goes over Ava throwing her under the bus, ruining her life, and now she’s eager to help her. Gwen asks what she is missing here. Ava says she feels guilty since Gwen is paying the price when Kristen should be behind bars. Gwen points out that Kristen didn’t help her switch out the antidote with the drug on Sarah as she did that on her own. Gwen adds that she and Xander are over now anyway. Ava says she’s sorry about that and she gets it, noting that she’s done a lot worse to hang on to the men she loves. Gwen tells Ava to get the hell out with her offer. Ava tells Gwen to be realistic that she has nowhere and no one to help her, so she is all Gwen has. Ava declares that it’s Gwen’s choice if she wants to languish in prison all alone.

Anna claims to Tony that she was taking a bunch of clothes that she never wears to the community center. Tony questions her taking them in a suitcase. Tony knows Anna is scared because her trial starts tomorrow but that doesn’t mean she will be convicted. Anna disagrees since Melinda is out for blood, Victor has the judge in his pocket, and Maggie is hellbent on making her pay for what she did to Sarah. Tony argues that Anna can’t just take off like that. Anna responds that she can and will as she has no choice and there is nothing he can do to stop her. Tony questions Anna planning to leave without even saying goodbye. Anna says it was to avoid implicating him as he can’t be caught aiding a criminal. Tony argues that she’s his wife so he wants to help her. Anna complains that she doesn’t deserve his help since he kept telling her that Sarah was no threat to their marriage and wasn’t really Renee, but she didn’t listen. Tony demands that Anna listen now as he tells her that she can’t just leave. Anna cries that it’s time for her to pay for what she did to Sarah.

Maggie and Xander leave Sarah’s room. Maggie expresses her regret for not agreeing to Sarah getting the antidote sooner. Xander encourages her to have no regrets as she was worried it was too risky, so she had every right to be worried. Xander declares that Sarah is back and that’s all that matters now. Maggie says there’s something she has to take care of. Xander questions her going now. Maggie says Sarah is okay and Kayla could be in with her for while. Maggie tells Xander to call if he needs her and promises she won’t be long as she then exits the hospital.

Gwen asks Ava what happens to her deal with Melinda if she accepts her offer. Ava says nothing as she held up her end of the bargain but Gwen escaping is not her problem. Gwen points out that the cops could find out that Ava helped her. Ava isn’t worried and doesn’t see Gwen having any better offers. Ava warns Gwen that time is running out. Ava gives Gwen her number to a burner phone if she decides to call her. Ava reminds Gwen that the clock is ticking as she then exits the interrogation room. Jack then enters the room, surprising Gwen as she thought he had washed his hands of her for good. Jack acknowledges that he led her to believe that and admits he’s sad and angry about what she’s done in the past. Jack is sure she knows that hurting Abigail hurt him, but she’s had a lot of pain in her life and he believes that’s the reason she’s caused a lot of pain so he wants to help her stop doing that. Jack adds that in spite of it all, she is his daughter and a part of him. Gwen calls that very kind. Jack argues that Gwen has it in her to do the right thing and she proved it when she told Xander where to find the antidote. Gwen feels it was the least she could do and she hopes it works and that Sarah recovers. Jack believes that Gwen can recover too from this impulsion for revenge and this need to get what she wants regardless of consequences. Gwen asks if Jack is saying that he has faith in her which he confirms. Jack assures that he cares about her, always has and always will. Jack then reveals that he asked Justin to represent her and he has agreed to take her case.

Anna tells Tony that she’s sorry but her mind is made up and she has to leave, so she’s sorry but this is the end of the road for them. Tony calls that so sad and heartbreaking. Anna agrees but says she really has to go. Tony asks if she really thought he was going to let her flee. Anna responds that he has no choice. Anna says goodbye to Tony and that she will love him forever. Anna opens the door to leave, right as Maggie arrives. Maggie asks if she’s going somewhere. Anna says she has a very important errand to run. Maggie says she needs to talk to her. Anna tells her it will have to wait. Maggie really thinks she will want to hear this now as she knows her trial starts tomorrow. Maggie then reveals that she has decided to drop the charges.

Xander returns to Sarah’s room as Kayla finishes checking her out. Kayla reports that Sarah seems to be just fine. Sarah confirms that she is and asks if anyone wants to tell her what drug she was injected with. Kayla informs Sarah that she was given a dangerous psychotropic. Xander adds that it was by Kristen DiMera which shocks Sarah. Kayla confirms it caused a lot of damage. Xander notes that she hasn’t been herself for quite some time but he’s thankful she is back to normal now. Sarah responds that she has a lot of questions but for now she will just say thank you to them for taking care of her. Xander declares that having her back is all the thanks they need. Sarah asks if they can get the ball rolling on her release now. Kayla wants to do a few more scans to make sure everything is fine, so she goes to check with radiology. Xander tells Sarah that there are no words to express what it means to be here with her now. Xander tells Sarah that he missed her so much. Sarah assures that she’s right here and it seems like it’s been a long time as she then kisses him. Xander can’t believe it and calls it amazing to have her back in his arms again. Sarah says for her it feels like just yesterday. Xander says he’s been wishing for this ever since she left him and he can’t wait to take her home. Kayla returns and announces that radiology will see her now. Xander asks how long it will be. Kayla doesn’t know but promises to let Xander know as soon as she does. Xander tells Sarah that he’ll see her in a bit. Sarah says she can’t wait. Xander exits to go text Maggie.

Anna is shocked and questions Maggie dropping the charges. Maggie explains that if Gwen hadn’t switched the vials, what Anna did would have brought Sarah back to them that day so what Anna did wasn’t terrible. Anna feels it was terrible, thoughtless, and wreckless. Anna tells Maggie that she’s truly sorry for what she put her through and she’s so grateful that Sarah will be okay. Anna thanks Maggie for telling them and dropping the charges, expressing how grateful she is. Maggie decides to get back to the hospital. Tony sends their best to Sarah as Maggie exits. Anna exclaims that she can’t believe she is free. Tony is glad she didn’t go on the run as he kisses her.

Jack informs Gwen that if she pleads guilty to the lesser charges, Justin thinks he can get her sentence knocked down to 5 years. Jack points out it’s nowhere near what she’d be facing if a jury found her guilty, so he’d say it’s a gift considering what she’s done. Gwen worries that Melinda Trask doesn’t really give out gifts. Jack points out that she’d be saving the city the expense of a trial, so if she agrees to all of this then it could be settled very quickly. Gwen takes that to mean she could be going to prison very quickly. Jack insists that this is not the end as if she makes smart and good choices, it could be a whole new beginning. Jack tells her to call Justin if she decides to accept but warns her not to wait too long. Gwen emotionally thanks Jack. Jack wipes tears from his eyes as he exits the room.

Anna and Tony have champagne and toast to her freedom. Anna repeats to Tony that she really is sorry for everything as she was thinking about herself and never of him throughout this whole ordeal. Anna knows now that Tony only went along with Sarah’s delusions because facing the truth would’ve been too hard for her and she was so mad with jealousy that she couldn’t see that. Tony knows he hurt her as well, but he felt he had to help Sarah, maybe because he wasn’t able to help Renee all those years ago and he couldn’t stop her life from ending so tragically. Tony knows Anna might not want to hear this, but he did love Renee. Anna feels they should go down to the DiMera Crypt to pay their respects to Renee because she would do anything for him. Tony thanks her.

Kayla gets Sarah back in her hospital bed. Maggie arrives and says Xander texted her and that he will be back soon. Sarah asks if they can just go home. Kayla goes to get her test results. Sarah tells Maggie how badly she wants to get out of the hospital gown and take a shower in her own bathroom. Sarah jokingly asks about why her hair is in pigtails. Sarah guesses she’s been here awhile which Maggie admits. Sarah hates the pigtails so Maggie offers to cut them. Sarah agrees and says she and Xander like her hair better short.

Xander goes to the interrogation room which surprises Gwen. Xander mentions seeing Jack outside and telling him the good news that the antidote worked. Gwen says that’s really good and she’s glad he told her. Xander thanks Gwen. Gwen repeats that she’s glad it worked out. Xander asks what’s going on with her now. Gwen informs him that Jack hired Justin to represent her and he says he can get her sentence down to 5 years if she pleads guilty to the lesser crimes. Xander asks if she’s going to do it. Gwen responds that she doesn’t know yet. Gwen tells Xander that this probably the last time they are going to see each other, so there’s something she’d like to say to him.

Maggie cuts Sarah’s hair. Sarah tells her that it’s perfect as Maggie comments that she looks like her old self again. Sarah says she feels like her old self and thanks her. Maggie worries about losing her again but Sarah assures she’s not going anywhere. Maggie tells her that she missed her so much and she loves her as they hug.

Gwen reminds Xander of when they first met and she couldn’t stand him as she found him insufferable, arrogant, annoying, and obnoxious but then she saw another side to him, a softer side. Gwen states that Xander felt deeply for her and he was so in to her, making so many sacrifices to protect her from her lies. Gwen brings up Xander disposing a body, going to jail, and giving up a million dollars all to protect a woman so desperate to have a relationship with her father that she became a hurricane of destruction. Gwen talks about spending her life deprived of love and affection and then having someone walk in to your life who genuinely cares about you. Xander understands you do anything to hold onto them. Gwen says that Xander is the only one who ever got it or understood her. Gwen declares that no one has ever been there for her the way that Xander has before and she blew it all to Hell. Gwen cries that Xander gave her his heart and she was so afraid of losing it, that she absolutely crossed the line by keeping Xander from the woman he truly loved. Gwen admits she was wrong and she will always regret it. Gwen adds that through all of her mistakes and everything it has cost her, she also received the most wonderful gift from him and that was the gift of love. Gwen says that Xander made her realize that she is worthy of love and capable of loving someone else too. Gwen removes her engagement ring and tells Xander that it belongs to him now, even though she will really miss wearing it. Gwen passes the ring across the table and wishes him happiness for he and Sarah. Xander thanks Gwen and says he should get back to the hospital. Xander guesses this is goodbye. Gwen says goodbye to Xander as he then exits the room. Gwen then breaks down crying.

Tony and Anna go to the DiMera Crypt. Tony stops her and asks if she’s sure she wants to go inside with all that has gone on there recently. Anna thinks the worst is behind them since Ben and Johnny are both free, Andre is a pile of dust, and the Devil is on the run. Anna thinks they have nothing to be afraid of, so they should go in and do what they came to do, and then go back to their champagne celebration. Anna and Tony then head in to the DiMera Crypt.

Gwen calls Ava, who is walking through the town square. Ava comments that was fast. Gwen reminds her that Ava said she didn’t have time. Ava assumes Gwen has decided to say yes then but Gwen reveals that it’s actually a no. Gwen thanks Ava as her offer helped clarify some things for her and for the first time in her life, she’s going to take responsibility for what she has done. Gwen states that it’s only 5 years in prison. Ava argues that’s not nothing. Gwen feels she has a chance to make things right and if she takes it, she might actually have a chance of having a family again. Gwen knows there’s no guarantees but repeats what Jack said that if she makes good and smart choices, then this could be a new beginning for her. Ava wishes her luck. Gwen thanks her and says she will need it.

Xander returns to Sarah’s room and is excited to see Sarah’s haircut. Sarah tells him that Maggie cut it. Xander says she looks beautiful. Sarah asks if he saw Kayla on the way in. Xander confirms that he did and she said she would let them know as soon as she can leaves. Sarah complains of being tired of waiting. Xander asks if he can get her anything. Sarah responds that the one thing she wants desperately is to see her baby, which shocks Xander and Maggie.

Tony and Anna visit the DiMera Crypt where Anna places roses at Renee DuMonde’s headstone. Anna knows it’s ironic but says despite everything that happened between them, she’s sorry that Renee was taken from the world so soon and she hopes that she’s in a better place now. Tony calls that lovely while she says now it’s his turn to say whatever he wants. Anna steps aside to give him a moment. Tony gets on his knees and talks about his relationship with Renee. Tony declares that it may be too little, too late, but he did love her deeply and he’ll never forget her. Anna comments that there must have been some good in Renee for him to have loved her. Tony thanks Anna and calls her the love of his life. Tony thinks they have finished what they came to do, so they go to leave but Anna finds a pacifier on the ground. Tony wonders where that came from. Anna guesses it must be Ciara’s baby’s and that Allie must have brought him here. Tony wonders where they are now.

Actor Brian Norris of "General Hospital"

Interview with Brian Norris of “General Hospital” on ABC by Suzanne 5/11/22

This was a very fun interview! Brian is great to chat with. He plays a very slick, slimy character on GH. He’s played a very wide variety of roles (as most actors do, of course). He’s a really laid-back guy in real life.

Actor BRIAN NORRIS Snaps Recurring Role on ABC Daytime TV Drama ‘GENERAL HOSPITAL’

Also Heads to Tribeca Film Festival and Celebrated HBO Series

Introduced on April 27th, Paparazzo Felty has embarked on Port Charles looking to snap some candid pictures of Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson), the successful new face of “Deception”. Always aggressive on the job, Felty might just uncover some new sordid secrets as he shoots a few juicy pics.

Norris was excited to join GH, adding “It’s such a family on that show, they really made me feel welcome from my first day. Also, there was a real sense of play throughout and I love the fast-paced nature. It feels like going back to theatre which I missed very much.”

Update written by Joseph

Leo sits in the town square, writing down a list of his enemies which includes Chad, Abigail, Brady, Chloe, and Sonny.

Sonny joins Victor in the living room of the Kiriakis Mansion. Sonny asks if there’s any news on Ciara and the baby. Victor says not yet but with Rafe and Shawn, he might hear something soon. Sonny asks about Maggie bringing Sarah home last night and if she’s doing any better. Victor declares there will be no answers until he gets his.

Maggie has Sarah set up in a hospital bed and points out that she isn’t touching her breakfast. Sarah continues to act like a child. Xander enters the room and tries to talk to Sarah. Sarah complains about being back in boring old Salem. Xander says it’s important that she is back. Sarah hopes he doesn’t still think she is going to marry him someday. Xander states that he’s not marrying anyone. Sarah declares that one day she will marry Eric.

Abigail arrives at the hospital and greets Kayla, congratulating her on being reinstated. Kayla admits she was surprised but thrilled. Abigail is sure the rest of the staff is as well. Kayla asks what brings Abigail to the hospital. Abigail tells her that she can’t stop worrying about Sarah and she knows Maggie brought her back, so she asks if there’s any change. Kayla says she is the same as when she left but she’s waiting on scan results to know what they are up against. Abigail is grateful that Kayla is back and Seth Burns came to his senses. Kayla thanks her but notes that she doesn’t like being in debt to some unpleasant person. Abigail relates because she is in debt to Ava Vitali.

Ava has a nightmare about Gwen showing up and injecting her with the syringe used on Sarah. Ava wakes up in a panic next to Jake in bed. Jake wakes up, questioning what’s going on. Ava is relieved that she is not there. Jake assures her that no one is there and she was just having a nightmare. Ava tells him that it was about Gwen coming after her for what she did to her with a giant syringe. Jake tells Ava that it’s okay and she’s safe as he comforts her.

Leo goes to the interrogation room at the police station to visit Gwen. Gwen is thrilled to see him, calling him the only person she’d be happy to see. Leo apologizes for not coming sooner as he was busy dealing with the wedding interruption. Gwen can’t imagine how horrible it was for him and says it breaks her heart knowing how they treated him. Leo says it’s nothing he’s not used to, but they are resilient. Leo adds that it took him awhile to figure out that Abigail blew up Gwen’s marriage too but he was just as heartbroken for her as he was for himself. Leo tells Gwen that he came to cheer her up. Gwen says he already has just by being there. Leo assures he will cheer her up in a more substantial way. Leo complains about Abigail and Chad doing a number on them and blew up their lives. Leo then declares that they are going to make those bitches pay.

Victor reminds Sonny that last month he asked if he was interested in taking over Titan and he still hasn’t gotten an answer. Sonny apologizes and says there’s been a lot going on. Victor doesn’t want excuses, just an answer. Sonny calls it a big decision to make. Victor argues that it needs to be dealt with because Titan is sinking and they need a CEO. Sonny says he told him he had to talk it over with Will. Victor assumes that Will demanded Sonny come home because he needs his husband and he doesn’t know why he expected anything different. Victor remarks that Will has always been clingy but Sonny then reveals that Will is actually the one who said he should take the job, surprising Victor.

Jake and Ava lean in to kiss but are interrupted by a knock at the door. Jake gets up to answer and it’s Gabi. Jake suggests she come back later. Gabi asks to speak privately with Jake. Ava tells Gabi that it was Jake’s idea for them to share the bed as Ava goes to get dressed.

Abigail tells Kayla that it was only thanks to Ava that they finally have proof of what Gwen did to her and Sarah. Abigail says as happy as she is, it makes her a little queasy that a former mafia princess is the one who helped her. Kayla says she’s smart to be wary because no matter how many times Ava says she’s changed, she is dangerous and maybe even more so if she’s giving you something you want. Abigail agrees and says she will remain on her guard as far as Ava Vitali goes. Kayla says at least Gwen is paying for her crimes. Abigail says not all of them.

Leo tells Gwen that Abigail screwed her and Chad screwed him, so either they sit around feeling sorry for themselves or they get back at them in similar ruthless fashion. Leo knows if they put their minds together, they will make Chad and Abigail regret going after them. Gwen says she loves the idea of revenge but there’s one tiny problem. Leo tries to guess what the problem is. Gwen then points out that she is handcuffed to the table so Leo remembers that she is going to prison.

Xander tells Maggie that he talked to a lab tech on the way in and he said they were running tests on the antidote and haven’t found anything in it to harm Sarah. Maggie says that may be true but no matter how many tests, it’s part of a complete picture as a full panel of tests to guarantee the drug is safe could take months or years. Xander asks what if Sarah doesn’t have that kind of time. Maggie argues that they are talking about a serum from a mad scientist and her daughter is not a lab rat. Maggie says spending all this time with Sarah has been strange but she’s cherished raising a little girl again. Xander asks if Maggie is saying she doesn’t care if Sarah stays a child for the rest of her life. Maggie assures that she cares but she doesn’t want to tempt fate since this antidote is a complete unknown. Maggie says maybe it will help Sarah or maybe it won’t but right now, she has her daughter, healthy and happy. Maggie turns back to Sarah, who has stopped responding to her, causing Maggie to worry.

Gabi tells Jake that she knows whatever Ava wants her to believe is not true. Ava says she has an errand to run. Ava tells Jake that she will see him later, kisses him on the cheek, and thanks him for being so kind earlier as she then exits the apartment. Gabi mocks them. Jake asks what Gabi wants. Gabi complains about Jake getting right to it and not even asking how she is. Gabi then brings up reading in The Intruder that Jake was attacked by The Devil in Ben and Ciara’s apartment. Jake assures it was accurate and not the first time. Gabi questions him saying it’s true that Johnny was possessed when they fought at DiMera which Jake confirms. Jake tells Gabi that she can go. Gabi says she actually came to talk to him about DiMera as she is here to un-oust him. Gabi tells Jake that she wants him back.

Victor questions Will telling Sonny to take the job at Titan. Sonny confirms that he did. Sonny explains that he, Will, and Arianna miss Salem so when he brought up the idea of being CEO, Will didn’t think splitting their time between Arizona and Salem would be a problem. Victor thought Will loved his job there. Sonny says he does but he can do a lot of work from home and Arianna is almost out of school, so they could just bring her here for the summer. Victor asks if that means Sonny will take the job. Sonny declares that he’s in which makes Victor happy.

Maggie tries to talk to Sarah. Xander asks if Sarah can hear them. Maggie starts to panic and says they need Kayla so Xander rushes out to go get her.

Abigail reveals to Kayla that Gwen told her that she killed her grandmother but she thinks Gwen just wanted to hurt her as deeply as she could because at the police station, Gwen said Laura’s death was an accident. Abigail says that she doesn’t know what to believe which is what Gwen wants as never knowing the truth is the worst form of torture. Kayla calls that diabolical. Abigail knows she could never rely on Gwen for the truth but hates the idea of her getting away with murdering her grandmother. Abigail adds that Gwen has hurt so many other people but at least she’s behind bars where she belongs. Abigail comments that the one good thing that came out of it is that Gwen gave them the antidote for Sarah. Xander then rushes up to them and tells Kayla that she has to help Sarah now.

Leo acknowledges that Gwen going to prison could be an impediment to their plan but he’s sure she will think of a clever way out. Gwen notes that she doesn’t even have money for a lawyer. Gwen brings up all her other charges. Leo asks if Gwen really assaulted Abigail and then looked the other way as she was shipped off to a desert island. Gwen remarks that it was really nice island. Leo argues that they are still family, so he asks if she can’t get Jack to convince Abigail to drop the charges. Gwen asks if he’s joking since he just said how mean Abigail is. Gwen then admits that once she got arrested, she might have whispered something to Abigail that might be quite hard to forgive. Leo wants to know what that was. Gwen then reveals that she told Abigail that she killed her grandmother on purpose. Leo is surprised and asks if she did.

Victor tells Sonny that it’s about time he returned to his rightful place at Titan. Sonny admits he’s excited and that he’s missed Titan. Victor reminds Sonny that Chad and the DiMeras aren’t going to stop looking for ways to take them down. Sonny points out that Chad isn’t CEO anymore. Victor says that Gabi is even worse. Sonny sarcastically promises to be cut throat but assures he won’t let his personal feelings for Gabi interfere with business. Victor hopes Titan will come back stronger and better than ever. Sonny adds that there is also something else he should bring to his attention. Sonny then informs Victor that Leo Stark has sworn revenge against him.

Leo asks if Gwen really killed Laura on purpose. Before Gwen can respond, a cop brings Ava in to the room. Gwen questions what the hell Ava is doing here. Ava tells Leo that if he doesn’t mind, she came to see Gwen. Leo says he does mind and tells Ava that when a friend shares a secret with you, you don’t use it to ruin your friend’s life. Ava asks Gwen if they can talk alone. Leo refuses to go anywhere and says Ava could be wearing a wire so he tells her to get the hell out. Gwen agrees. Ava assures that she wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t important. Ava asks Gwen to let her say her piece and then she will go. Leo tells her to go, so Ava starts to leave but Gwen stops her and tells her to go on and say her piece which confuses Leo.

Jake questions Gabi saying she wants him back. Gabi clarifies that she means as her employee. Jake asks if this is a joke or if Johnny is going to pop out with a camera. Gabi assures it’s no joke. Jake tells her that the answer is no. Gabi asks him to at least hear her out. Jake gives her five minutes. Gabi explains that she was only trying to get rid of Jake at DiMera because she thought that he was trying to screw her over, but now that she knows it was the Devil, she wants him back at DiMera. Jake asks what her angle is. Gabi claims there is no angle and that Jake was great with the clients and Mr. Shin has a soft spot for him. Gabi points out that Jake clearly hasn’t found any other employment. Jake questions just going back to work for her and insists that there has to be an angle.

Xander complains about Kayla taking so long. Abigail encourages that she might just be taking more tests. Xander argues that they still haven’t got the results of the last tests yet. Abigail knows it’s frustrating but it’s the only way to find out what’s wrong. Xander worries about waiting to give Sarah the antidote and if she gets worse or dies. Abigail assures that whatever is wrong is not life threatening. Xander questions how she could know. Xander points out that Sarah was fine and then suddenly completely out of it. Abigail suggests it could be temporary or a side effect of the drug. Xander asks if it was like that for her when she was drugged. Abigail knows Xander blames her for what happened to Sarah. Xander says of course he does since if Abigail wasn’t so determined to get revenge on Gwen with that syringe, none of this would be happening. Abigail says he has no idea how sorry she is. Xander asks what good that does but then apologizes and says at least Abigail came forward with the truth that Gwen was more than happy to send Sarah to Hell with a second dose. Xander adds that at least Sarah has a fighting chance now, so as angry as he is, he owes Abigail his thanks.

Gabi insists to Jake that there is no angle and it’s just a smart business move. Jake argues that Gabi doesn’t do anything unless there’s something in it for her and that helped her get her where she is, but if she wants him to join her, she has to at least be honest. Gabi admits that EJ is making noise about wanting his job back. Gabi claims she’s not scared but needs to be prepared, so she needs what only Jake can offer. Gabi says no matter how qualified she is, she’s not a DiMera by blood which is what counts. Gabi says she will need a DiMera on her side to go against EJ and then when the board sees what a great team they are, they won’t pick EJ over them. Gabi states that this could be the power they talked about. Jake reminds her that a lot has changed. Gabi asks if he has something better going. Jake points out that they just broke up. Gabi says they are both adults so she swears to keep their arrangement platonic, similar to what he has going with Ava. Gabi asks what Jake says.

Gwen tells Leo that it’s alright and he can go, thanking him for stopping by. Leo asks if she’s sure she wants him to leave her alone with Ava. Gwen assures that it’s fine. Leo says he’s there for her if she needs anything because that’s the kind of friend he is, unlike some people. Leo then exits the room. Gwen tells Ava that the sight of her makes her sick. Gwen tells Ava to say what she has to say quickly and get the hell out.

Maggie informs Xander that Kayla just finished examining Sarah and is on her way to rush the test results. Kayla comes over and announces that she just read the test results. Kayla says she’s sorry but according to the latest scans, Sarah’s condition is deteriorating. Kayla knows how frustrating it is for both of them as they hoped the effects of the drug would diminish over time like they did with Abigail. Abigail points out that she got a smaller dose and only once. Kayla says that’s the key difference as the increased dose had more of an effect on Sarah. Xander asks if the antidote would reverse the process. Kayla says she can’t say for sure but that’s what they hope. Kayla declares at this point, it’s their only hope. Maggie argues that it hasn’t been fully vetted. Kayla understands but based on the scans and deterioration, if they don’t intervene, Sarah could end up in a permanently vegetative state. Xander says they can’t let that happen. Kayla knows Maggie doesn’t want to expose Sarah to any more drugs, so it’s her call, but if they don’t try this, she’s afraid it will get worse. Maggie then tearfully instructs Kayla to give Sarah the drug.

Victor tells Sonny that Leo Stark is just the kind of trouble they don’t need. Sonny argues that it could just be an empty threat but since last time, Leo almost torched Titan, he thought he should let him know, especially since Leo already went after Chad. Victor mentions seeing the article in The Intruder and asks when Chad started playing for Sonny’s team. Sonny clarifies that he doesn’t. Victor asks if he’s sure about that. Sonny assures him but says if he’s coming back to Titan, Victor has to promise not to believe everything he reads.

Ava tells Gwen that she came to apologize. Gwen mocks her. Ava says she’s really sorry and she has to believe her. Ava complains that she never meant to sell her out to the cops but they had her dead to rights and she needed a life preserver which was unfortunately Gwen. Gwen asks if she actually thought she could make nice and that all would be forgiven. Gwen complains that Xander and her family hate her and she’s going to prison, so Ava has completely destroyed her life. Gwen yells at Ava to get out. Ava says not quite yet as she didn’t come to beg for her forgiveness, but to help her.

Maggie and Xander return to Sarah’s room. Maggie says it won’t be long. Kayla comes in with the antidote. Maggie confirms she is ready. Kayla then injects Sarah with the antidote.

Sonny walks through the town square and comes across Leo. Sonny questions him still being in town. Leo reminds him that he told him he wasn’t going anywhere. Sonny hoped he wasn’t serious. Leo says there is still so much more to accomplish. Leo congratulates Sonny on being named CEO of Titan and guesses that means Sonny will be sticking around Salem too. Sonny confirms that he will be which Leo calls such good news because he has him right where he wants him. Leo then walks away.

Gabi asks Jake for an answer and then she will go. Jake agrees to come back to work for her. Gabi says that’s great and offers her hand. Jake fist bumps her as Gabi welcomes him back to DiMera. Gabi then exits.

Gwen questions what Ava could do to help her unless she’s a lawyer. Ava says she can do her one better and declares that she’s going to bust Gwen out.

Kayla informs Abigail that she gave Sarah the antidote, so now they wait.

Maggie calls Victor and says there’s no news yet. Victor encourages that Sarah will pull through this. Maggie hopes he’s right. Victor thinks God is on their side. Maggie agrees to keep him posted. They say I love you and hang up. Xander tells Maggie there has been no change yet. Maggie asks if something should be happening by now. Xander says he’s every bit as impatient but they need to give the drug a chance. Sarah starts blinking. Maggie calls out to her. Sarah then looks at Xander and recognizes him, thrilling Maggie and Xander.

Recap written by Christine

Jack told the weeping Allie that he didn’t mean to upset her when he said the Abbotts were her family. She assured him he didn’t do anything wrong. She appreciated him saying that. She tried to say more, but she broke down sobbing. Jack had sensed from the moment Allie got here that something was weighing on her. He wouldn’t have left earlier if not for there being another family issue, with Kyle. He assured her he was here now, and she had his full attention. Allie was so embarrassed. She didn’t usually lose control and cry in front of someone she didn’t know that long. He said he wasn’t a stranger – he was her grandfather. He said she always had a soft spot to land here. He made a lot of mistakes with her father, and he didn’t want to repeat them. Allie said her mother came back to LA after Jack and Phyllis left. Allie had hoped her mom came to spend time with her, but that wasn’t the case. Her mother came to sign some legal papers related to Keemo’s estate. Allie wished she could’ve talked to her mom about the Abbotts, but she never got the chance.

Allie’s mom came to LA, got a hotel for one night, signed the papers and left at the crack of dawn the next day. As a parent, Jack found that unconscionable. Allie said it would’ve been better if she’d never seen her mother at all, because seeing her like that just ripped the wound open. The lack of relationship with her mom made her miss her dad even more. “He was all that I had and now he’s gone,” she cried. Jack knew the loss of a parent was hard. Allie had felt empty and lonely, and she’d felt compelled, without even thinking about it, to come see Jack. He pulled her close and she cried on his shoulder. Once Allie had composed herself, Jack offered some sympathetic thoughts about parent/child relationships. Jack was sure there was more to the story with Allie and her mom, and he wasn’t going to pressure her to say more. He was happy, proud and grateful she came to him. He wanted her to think of this as her home.

In The Grand Phoenix lobby, Diane just learned that Kyle was going back to Italy. She assumed that he’d decided he didn’t want anything to do with her. She took it well, but she was clearly disappointed. Kyle and Diane went upstairs to talk in private, where he explained he was leaving town because he wanted to be with his wife. He still hadn’t made a decision about Diane. He needed to hear what Summer thought. She was curious what the Abbotts said about her after she left. He said it wasn’t his place to repeat what his family said. She understood. She asked what she could do to get another chance with him.

Diane was willing to do whatever it took. She’d take another grilling from the Abbotts, and she’d face the Newmans too. She wanted to show him she was worthy of another chance. He wasn’t sure there was one thing to do to make everything okay. She thought they could just open the door and take it from there. He said it was a dangerous door for him to open, because once he did, it would be hard to close it. He had to decide what to do. He hadn’t given up on her, but he had to figure out if that was because he still had a void created by her death. He also had to think of how this would affect Summer and Harrison. Diane smiled and said that was her grandson. Kyle said Harrison had already been through so much upheaval, and he refused to put his son through more. Diane was proud of the father Kyle became. He said he’d always put his son first. Diane said she tried to do the same, but she fell short. She guessed that if he was leaving, she should probably go back to LA. He said that was up to her whether she wanted to go back to her new life or mend other fences in Genoa City. Diane asked if there was someone specific Kyle wanted her to make amends to. She admitted she’d wronged a lot of people. He wasn’t talking about anyone in particular – that wasn’t his place. He also wasn’t making that a requirement for his forgiveness. He said he’d be in touch in a few days. He turned to go, but she asked if she could have a hug. They both had tears in their eyes. He nodded, and they embraced.

Kyle went back to the Abbott house. Allie told him she had no idea that Taylor – Diane was his mom. She thought Diane was just a random person buying her dad’s house. Kyle knew. Jack said they all knew that it was Diane’s machinations that put it all in motion. Jack invited Kyle to join him and Allie at Society. Kyle appreciated that, but he didn’t think it was possible. He’d love to get to know Allie better, but he was going to be taking Harrison home to Milan. Jack asked if something happened at the hotel. Kyle said he and Diane had a pleasant conversation. He just needed to get home to talk to Summer. Jack hated that Kyle and Harrison were leaving so soon. Kyle promised they’d come back soon. Jack hoped it wouldn’t be so dramatic next time. Kyle couldn’t promise that.

Lauren and Michael were at Society. They’d just returned from a vacation in France. They stayed at an airBnB run by a cute couple, and Lauren said that could be her and Michael some day. He asked if she wanted to run an inn. She thought running a winery would suit them better, but she did dream of retiring to France. She was hoping he’d rethink working for Victor, so they could ensure he didn’t end up with another experience like he had when he’d been thrown in a Peruvian prison. “You don’t like my work husband,” Michael said, laughing. Lauren never said she didn’t like Victor, and she wanted Michael to stop mocking her feelings. He said he wasn’t. He noted that Victor lent them a private jet to take to France. She thought that was the least Victor could do. Michael reasoned that his work would be less stressful now that Ashland had been purged from the company and his marriage to Victoria was being annulled. He hoped things would be quieter. She didn’t think things would ever be quieter with the Newmans. She fantasized about a life in the south of France. He said they could only have that life if she retired too. He asked if she was willing to do what she was asking of him and walk away from Fenmore’s.

Lauren thought Michael was being disingenuous. She said she could work remotely, which Victor would never tolerate. She said he chose to come out of retirement from the DA’s office and work for Victor, and he ended up in a prison cell. He blamed Ashland, but she maintained that Victor set it in motion. She asked what kind of hold Victor had on Michael that made him constantly defend him. Michael felt no need to defend his position. He said he helped Victor expose that treacherous snake. There was no telling what Ashland planned to do to Victoria if he got control of the company. “I help put a stop to that,” Michael stated. Lauren thought that was a good thing, but beside the point. Michael said that Lauren couldn’t run the company remotely while maintaining her high standards for it. He said the only way they could live a stress free life is if she let the company be run by someone else. She didn’t reply, and he said that meant her answer was no.

Michael wasn’t upset Lauren didn’t want to retire. He found her drive sexy. He just wished she could love his job. He promised they’d travel to every locale she wanted to, and eventually they’d retire somewhere, but not now while they were in their prime. She agreed that they were in their prime. He suggested that they continue to thrive in their respective careers, live their lives to the fullest, and when it was time, they’d walk off into the sunset hand-in-hand. She smiled and said he had a good point, but she added that her job was relatively safe. No one was going to put her behind bars because she declared pink the color of the season. He thought things with Victor would settle down, but if things became an issue, they’d revisit the topic. She wanted him to compare their wonderful trip to the time he spent behind bars.

Michael went to the Grand Phoenix bar, and unknowingly took the spot next to Diane. He saw her out of the corner of his eye, and she smiled. “No,” he said. “Yes. It’s me. I’m back,” she replied. Groaning, he noted that she was dead. “And now I’m not,” she replied. She said it was a blessing and a curse – she came back a changed woman, but no one would believe her. He asked if she ever thought anyone would. She’d hoped. She told him to give him her worst. She said she’d spent days explaining herself to people who didn’t believe her, and she was mentally and physically exhausted. She told him to go ahead and call her evil or a crazy bitch or whatever else he could think of. He warned her that he had a pretty good imagination. She’d thought it was possible to get a fresh start in Genoa City, but she was realizing that was increasingly unlikely. She told him to go ahead and insult her and storm off, so she could finish her drink in peace. He clarified that he actually thought it was pretty good to see her.

Diane wondered if Michael was happy to see her because he wanted to see her finally suffer for her crimes or because the town needed a new punching bag. “At least you have two kidneys,” he replied. He was genuinely glad she wasn’t dead. She wasn’t sure whether or not to believe him. He suggested that the new improved not-dead-Diane should be a smidge more trusting. She decided he was right. Phyllis exited the elevator and saw Diane and Michael clink glasses.

At the cottage, Sharon came downstairs in her black dress for the memorial service. Nick and Faith thought she looked beautiful. He’d talked to Chance and Abby, and they were going to meet them at the church. Chance had told Sharon that the GCPD was going to hold their own memorial service for Rey. Noah came downstairs and said he put together a slide show of photos for the service. Mariah and Tessa came in with food for after the service. Sharon was grateful everyone was here. Chelsea showed up. She’d heard about the memorial service, and she wanted to attend, but she understood if this was family only. Mariah gently explained that this was just for the family and Rey’s partner, but Sharon spoke up and said Chelsea could come. Sharon knew Chelsea and Rey were close friends, and she hoped Chelsea didn’t blame herself for his death. Sharon said Rey had a heart attack, and he didn’t die because he was on the road getting the tickets.

The service happened off screen. Everyone, minus Chance and Abby, returned to the cottage for refreshments. Chance had to work, and Abby went home to the baby. Chelsea declined the food, because she didn’t have an appetite. Sharon thanked everyone for coming. She loved the song Tessa sang and Noah’s photo montage. She’d always remember Chance’s lovely eulogy. She thought Rey would be proud of the memorial. Nick said Rey was determined to turn him into a soccer fan. He reminisced about their little arguments over whether soccer or American football was better.

Noah said Rey was easy to be around and treated him like a buddy, not his wife’s son. Noah said he went to the coffee shop after a date that went well, and Rey noticed Noah missed a button on his shirt. Noah was glad Rey pointed it out before Sharon or anyone else saw it. Sharon wondered who this woman that Noah was with. Faith hoped Rey knew what a part of the family he was. Sharon said everyone’s memories today proved that he did. Sharon asked if Chelsea wanted to share anything. Chelsea appreciated how wonderful Rey was with Connor. She got choked up and couldn’t say more.

Tessa appreciated Rey working behind the scenes to help her sister. She’d never be able to thank him. It made Mariah wonder how many people Rey helped that htey’d never know about. Sharon had received a lot of emails and notes from people Rey helped out. Some of the things Rey told her about, but he’d downplayed them, and other things she never heard about, because Rey wasn’t in it to get accolades.

Noah said he’d take Sharon to the airport, or fly with her if she wanted. She appreciated it, but she didn’t want him to take time off work. Chelsea asked where Sharon was going. Sharon said she was taking Rey to Miami, so he could be buried there, as his mother wanted. Mariah wanted to go to Miami too, but Sharon thought she should stay and work on the wedding. Nick also offered to go. Sharon said it wasn’t necessary, and he might have to deal with Diane. She appreciated everyone’s offers, but this was the last trip she’d ever take with Rey, and she’d prefer it if it was just the two of them. Everyone understood. Sharon was going to go rest before her trip to the airport. She thanked everyone again for their support and said she loved them all. This memorial was just what she needed.

Tessa and Mariah went home. Mariah thought Sharon was going to be okay, and she was a little less worried about her now. It made Mariah feel less guilty about going forward with the wedding planning. It was nice to have something to look forward to. They couldn’t wait to be each other’s wives. They kissed.

Chelsea went home to her suite. She said Rey was good to her son, and good to her too. So kind and generous. She thought that what they shared was a genuine bond that was stronger than friendship. She felt guilty saying that, but it was true. She wasn’t sure if it would’ve developed into something more. Chelsea would’ve felt bad if it had, since Sharon was a good woman who truly loved Rey, and Chelsea already put Sharon through a lot of pain. Chelsea said none of this mattered because Rey was gone. She felt angry and sad because she’d lost a potential future with a man that she could’ve loved. Once again, her happiness had been ripped away. She wondered when she’d get to win.

Sharon was in her living room by herself. She picked up a photo of herself and Rey, and she held it to her heart.
