Dante meets Cody at Kelly’s. Cody is eating breakfast for lunch and explains he had a long night. Dante assumes he was out with Britt, but Cody explains that he wasn’t. Cody says that he slept in and since he didn’t have to work, he decided to have breakfast. Dante said that it must be nice, that he has been up since the crack of dawn chasing down leads. Cody tells Dante not to give up, that he will catch this guy, the hook killer. Dante then informs Cody that Diane Miller has officially identified the killer as a woman. Dante adds that if it’s over with Britt then Cody dodged a bullet as she always seems to only be out for number one. Dante then changes the subject and asks Cody what is going on with Mac and if he is still on his case. Cody tells Dante he isn’t that concerned about Mac being out to get him anymore, but before he can tell Dante why, Dante gets called to work. Cody tells Dante to be careful and to catch the killer and bring them to justice. Dante says that they, the PCPD, will.

At GH, Maxie asks to speak with Britt in private, so they take a walk. Maxie asks her honest opinion about Cody. Britt tells Maxie that she hasn’t seen Cody in days and would be perfectly happy to never see him again. Maxie thought they were dating, but Britt says she’s barely heard from him lately and he has not reached out to make plans. Maxie asks Britt if she has heard the news? Britt looks puzzled and so Maxie explains that Cody has had a lot on his mind lately. Maxie then tells Britt that there is a distinct possibility that Mac is Cody’s father. Britt seems slightly irritated but quickly laughs off how unfair it would be if Cody ends up with someone like Mac as a father while her long-lost relative was Peter, the psychotic killer. Maxie tells Britt that as of yet Cody has not taken the DNA paternity test to confirm the news. She tells Britt she doesn’t understand his hesitancy. Britt understands the concept of hesitancy, given what Peter did to their lives, and she admits she still has that box of artifacts he left her. She believes someday she’ll figure out why he left them to her. Maxie explodes when she learns that Britt is still in possession of the box that Peter left her. Maxie says she wouldn’t be going through the horrible feelings she is experiencing if she had just let Maxie destroy the box. Maxie says she was a fool for allowing Britt to call and convince her to allow Britt to keep the box. They quickly return the topic of conversation to Cody, and Britt thinks perhaps he has not ghosted her and that maybe Maxie is right he has just dealing with a tremendous amount of serious stuff. Maxie realizes Britt likes him. Britt asks Maxie’s opinion of him. Maxie says she likes him, but believes there is something sketchy about him as well. Britt agrees. Maxie suggests Britt just talk to him and put all her cards out on the table.

Sam runs into Spinelli and he feels he owes Sam an apology for confiding in her about Cody because he has now made her an accessory to his crimes. He was so focused on perfecting his app that he created a monster that is the key to cracking the internet. Sam tells him he is a genius, and that he wasn’t trying to hurt anyone. She also advises him to never tell anyone about the algorithm. Sam also plans to speak with Cody his attempt to blackmail Spinelli and find out what his endgame is.

Back at GH, Spinelli walks in on Maxie and Britt discussing Cody and grimaces. Britt leaves them to talk alone. Maxie and Spinelli make plans for Spinelli to come to sit for the kids as Maxie has a date with Austin. She also wishes Spinelli would use his Society Setups algorithm to find a date of his own because she wants to see him happy.

Dante runs into Britt, and she asks him if he’s seen Cody lately. He flippantly reports that he just came from having breakfast with him, but adds nothing else to the conversation and turns to go. Britt stops Dante and asks him why he has an attitude with her, and if it is because he thinks she’s not good enough for Cody. Dante reminds her that they have a history so he is not exactly an impartial judge of her character, he says that Cody deserves someone who has his best interests at heart and Dante doesn’t want to see Britt jerk him Cody around. He then turns and leaves.

At Kelly’s, Sam thanks Cody for meeting with her. He asks her if he is in trouble. She admits he is, for blackmailing her friend Spinelli. Cody says that blackmail is way too harsh of a word and informs Sam that all he asked of Spinelli was to set him up with Britt. He tells Sam that he has no intention of blackmailing Spinelli or in revealing his internet secrets. Sam asks Cody why he was so intent on being set up with Britt. Cody thinks back to when he learned that Faison was her father, and Sam assumes he has a con going on. He says there is no con, and he reminds her that he didn’t make a great first impression on Britt when he crashed into her nearly causing her to drown on the rooftop pool of the Metro Court. Sam stops him and says she is all too familiar with the sordid story. Cody says that is why he used Spinelli to help him get in her good graces. He also thanks her for not telling Dante, but he realizes that most of the reason she hasn’t told Dante is that it would also get Spinelli in trouble with the authorities. Sam says she will take Cody for his word but warns him if he hurts Spinelli that he will wish he was never born.

At Deception, Lucy gets a call from Anna, who once again tries to steer her away from Victor. Anna tells Lucy that she is very appreciative for her help in revealing the duplicity of Deputy Mayor Ashby, but that even the best intentions sometimes turn out bad. Lucy assures Anna that she can handle herself and hangs up on Anna, not knowing that Victor is already on to her because she was careless when listening in to Victor’s conversation in his suite at the Metro Court.

In Victor’s suite, Johann hands him a black box and offers to take care of Lucy for him, but Victor says he’ll take care of her in his own time and asks Johann if he has forgotten who the boss is in their relationship. Johann replies that he has not and says that he simply want to eliminate any problem areas for Victor. Victor says that Lucy will be taught a lesson, and the severity of it depends on whether she’s working for someone else or is she was just listening in to Victor’s conversation because of her own curiosity.

Victor meets with Lucy and presents her with a beautiful, extravagant necklace. Lucy is unaware that the necklace is implanted with a listening device so that Victor can hear everything she says while she is wearing it. At that moment, Martin returns home and catches Lucy and Victor in a rather awkward moment. Lucy runs over and hugs Martin and assures him that from his reaction to her being with Victor, that he has read the situation all wrong. She explains that Victor has become a friend and support system for her while he was away. Martin sees the diamonds on her and notes that he is also clearly an incredibly generous friend. He wonders what Victor is doing there. Victor responds, “Should I tell him or should you Lucy?” Lucy explains Victor is interested in investing in Deception. Martin inquires as to what interest Victor has in investing in a fashion conglomerate. Victor gives a flimsy explanation and then Martin asks Victor to see himself out.

Victor leaves, and Lucy swears to Martin that things aren’t what they appear to be. Lucy explains she’s working with Anna to spy on Victor. She swears she did this for him so he could come home, and Anna forced her to do this. He notes Anna never told him any of this, and he spoke to Anna on the previous night and she told Martin to return home immediately. Lucy curses Anna, knowing she brought him back to stop her from working Victor. Lucy swears nothing is going on between her and Victor, and she and Martin passionately kiss. Lucy tells him they’ll get everything they want as soon as she gets Anna out of the way. She then rushes out.

At Anna’s place, Anna informs Robert that deputy mayor is one of Victor’s accomplices. Robert asks to know everything, starting with the source. She admits it is Lucy, and he can’t believe she brought someone like Lucy in on this. Anna swears she’s handling her, and Ashby could be their leverage in finally bringing down Victor. Anna details her plan off-camera and he believes it may work. However, he doesn’t like the fact that Valentin plays a pivotal role in it as Robert doesn’t have any faith in him. Anna understands that but asks Robert to trust her. He does and wants Victor to pay for killing Luke.

Robert admits he misses the old days, and takes a dig at Valentin by saying at least with him she had a partner she could trust. Anna points out he hasn’t been anyone’s partner for a long time. Robert says he’s doing fine, but Anna thinks that’s not an answer. Anna feels he has walled himself up with work and asks if he doesn’t want more. Robert admits he misses having a special someone. He agrees to think about dating again, as soon as they take down Victor. This seems to make Anna feel better, she genuinely wants Robert to be happy.

Victor returns to his suite and boots up his computer and puts in earphones. He listens in on the bug in Lucy’s necklace.

Lucy heads to Anna’s place, barges in, and tells Anna to stay out of her life and not to dare interfere with her plans again.

In Jacksonville, Carly is surprised when Bobbie shows up to check on her. Bobbie thought she could use backup given what she’s been up against. They grab a table at the hotel restaurant, and Carly updates her on everything, including Peyton’s dredging up Reece’s accident. She says fortunately Drew helped her forgive herself and let go of that guilt. Bobbie is proud of her. Carly feels coming here gave her closure, and Drew made all the difference. Bobbie speaks to Carly about whether she and Drew are becoming more than just friends. Bobbie can see that Carly has her self-confidence back. Carly says that Drew is a very special person and that things between them are still in the developmental stages, so to speak. Bobbie laughs and says that she believes it is late enough in the day now for her to check in to her room, Bobbie leaves and Carly goes to the bar to settle her tab. When she turns around, Peyton is standing behind her. Carly inquires as to how the Guild voted. Peyton, who strangely doesn’t look pleased, tells Carly the Parkway will go through as planned and will not be rerouted. Carly has failed. She will be forced to relocate Virginia’s grave.

Stephanie was upset when she saw John crushing the orchid. She thought it was the cure. He told her it was another one of Orpheus’ schemes. She wondered what her mother was going to do. Steve was with Kayla in her room. Tripp and Joey showed up to see her. They were tired of Stephanie not telling them what was going on so they wanted to see for themselves. Kayla and Steve told them that Orpheus poisoned her as well as Marlena and Kate. Steve left to check on Marlena. Kayla tried to prepare Joey and Tripp for the worst, but they didn’t want to hear it. Tripp said he regretted the time he wasted being angry at her. She said she was proud of them. Tripp said he wouldn’t have tried to become a doctor if it weren’t for her. Joey said she and Steve were there for him during the worst time in his life. He said he wished there was something he could do. Steve ran into Stephanie. He told her Joey and Tripp were with Kayla. She went to see Kayla. John told him that he was right about wanting to end Orpheus after he was pardoned. John said he would end Orpheus himself if their wives didn’t make it. They talked about how helpless they felt. Steve said he regretted the time he wasted not being with Kayla. John said he understood how he felt.

Stephanie apologized for keeping Joey and Tripp in the dark about Kayla. Kayla woke up and said it was her idea to do it. Steve came back to the room. She said she was happy they were all there. Chloe talked to Nicole about her issues with Rachel. Chloe said she didn’t know how to handle the situation with Rachel. Nicole said she wished she could be there for Eric. She told Chloe that Rafe and Jada caught her hugging Eric. Nicole said Jada claimed him as her boyfriend. Nicole said she understood that, but there was a pull between her and Eric. She said she would be lying if she said she didn’t feel it. Chloe said she wanted her to be happy, but she didn’t want her to do something stupid. Kristen told Brady that Rolf grew a new orchid. She said she had it. Brady said she was playing games. She showed him a picture of her holding the orchid. He didn’t believe her. She said the serum was formulated and he was wasting time the women didn’t have. He thought she wanted custody of Rachel so he agreed to it. She said she wanted him to break up with Chloe and get back together with her. He refused to be with her. She said Marlena would die unless he made everyone think that they got back together for Rachel’s sake. She said he couldn’t say anything about blackmail. He said she was a monster. She said she considered herself a mother who loved her child. She told him that the women were going to need a second dose in a few months and a booster after that. She said he couldn’t dump her after they were cured. She said they were in it for the long haul. He agreed to do it because he didn’t have a choice. He said he had conditions. He said he wouldn’t say anything to Chloe until after the first dose. She agreed to it. She said once the women are feeling better, he had to dump Chloe. He said they would be a family, but he would never make love to her. He said she would be more lonely in a loveless relationship. She said only time would tell. He said he hated her. She said there was a thin line between love and hate. He told her to be careful what she wished for. He walked away from her.

Rolf went to see Kristen. He let her know the police were ransacking his lab. She was glad they wouldn’t find the orchid. She picked up the orchid. He moved his sensitive info, but he didn’t want the police to digging through his work. He realized she was taking care of the orchid. He wanted to know about her end game. She didn’t tell him what her plans were, but she wanted to know why he was so worried about Marlena. She mentioned the clones he had already. He let her know that if the women die, it would be her fault because she had the cure. John held Marlena’s hand. Eric and Belle arrived and asked about the orchid. John told them that Rolf didn’t have the orchid. Shawn let John know that he didn’t find the orchid at the lab. Marlena woke up and hoped no one gave up on her. They assured her they didn’t give up on her. Eric led them in a prayer. Marlena wanted Eric to check on Roman and Kate. He didn’t want to leave her. Marlena didn’t want him to argue with her in her condition. Eric left the room just as Sami called Marlena. She wanted to be there for her, but she had to deal with Sydney. Sami wanted to talk to Belle. She assured Sami that she and Eric would take care of their mother. John was taking care of Marlena when Sarah brought a delivery for her. John and Marlena read the card and saw that Orpheus sent her flowers.

Lucas called Kate from Statesville. She let him know that Roman proposed to her. She told him that she was proud of him for taking responsibility for what he did. She wished him happiness. She assured him that she would see him when he got out. She got off the phone with Lucas. She told Roman that she couldn’t tell Lucas the truth. He knew she would see Lucas again. He told her that he wanted to get married right away. They needed a witness. Rex and Eric arrived so Roman said their timing was perfect. Eric performed the ceremony so Kate and Roman got married. Chloe told Brady they should break up because of Kristen. She told him that Rachel hated her. Brady told her that Kristen would get her way. He reminded her that they loved each other. She was afraid that he would lose Rachel. He knew that sacrificing his happiness wouldn’t change his situation wouldn’t change Rachel around. Later, Brady met with Kristen. He confronted her about the note that was in Rachel’s lunchbox. Kristen didn’t know what he was talking about. He didn’t have time for her games because Marlena was dying. She said that Marlena didn’t have to die. She thought she could save Marlena, Kayla and Kate.

Chad went to see Stephanie. He wanted to apologize for what happened. She said they were both drunk and were trying to forget about what was going on. He said he enjoyed working with her and didn’t want to mess things up. She told him Paulina was in trouble. She asked him to go with her to see Paulina. They met with Paulina. Paulina wanted him to sign a NDA before she gave them the folder. Paulina wanted to know what they were going to do about it. Gabi went to her office and found EJ in there. He told her he had proof that Ava’s marriage was a fraud. He said Ava said it was her idea. He said Jake’s shares went to Vivian, but she couldn’t vote because she was incarcerated. He said they had to go with the proxy which would be Stefan. He told her she was out of moves. He told her checkmate before he left her office. Wendy went to see Li, She said she couldn’t work IT at Fairbanks anymore. She said she wanted a job in Salem. He told her it wasn’t that simple. She said he was engaged to the CEO. She asked if he screwed that up too. She said she heard about his meltdown about Stefan.

Gabi called Li to come to the office. When he got off the phone, Wendy told him she wanted to go with him. He left without her. She wondered why he was so worried about Stefan. She looked at his tablet. She found pictures of Li and Gabi’s pictures. She left to find out what was going on. Johnny ran into Stefan at the DiMera mansion. Johnny asked him if he saw EJ. Stefan said he left, but Stefan knew what was going on with him and Ava. Stefan defended EJ to Johnny. Johnny was upset about him defending EJ. Stefan said it was about getting Gabi out of the company. Johnny was confused because the only thing he heard about Stefan was he was in love with Gabi. Johnny wondered what Rolf did to Stefan. Stefan said Rolf had nothing to do with his feelings. Stefan asked what Rolf would have to gain by making him hate Gabi. Johnny said EJ did something so Stefan could side with him. Stefan didn’t believe it. Johnny warned him not to trust. EJ showed up while they were talking. Johnny yelled at EJ for treating Ava the way he did. EJ told him to find someone his own age. EJ asked Stefan to get Vivian’s power of attorney. He wanted to give Gabi a peek at her future. Stefan agreed to do it. When Li showed up, Gabi told him about EJ’s visit. EJ and Stefan showed up. EJ told her that he had Vivian’s power of attorney. He said Jake’s shares went to Stefan. She wanted to know why Stefan was being mean to her. She wanted him to look in her eyes. She asked where that part of him that loved her went. Stefan thought about pushing Gabi away.

Paulina showed Chanel the file that Sloane gave her. Chanel was shocked that something she did in college would hurt her mother’s campaign. Paulina assured her that it wouldn’t hurt her career. Paulina told her that she had everything under control. Sloane wanted to know what made her think it was under control. Sloane introduced herself to Chanel. She wanted to know if Paulina made a decision about the offer. Paulina refused to be blackmailed. They threatened each other. Paulina threw Sloane out of her place. Paulina told Chanel that she planned to drop out of the race. Chanel didn’t want her to do that. Chanel wanted to pay the blackmailer, but her mother said the person would never stop coming after her. Paulina planned on going after Sloane through Stephanie and Chad. Alex confronted Stephanie about being with Chad. He wanted to know why it was sexual harassment when he wanted to be with her, but it wasn’t for her to be with someone she just hired. Chad told her that what they did was consensual. Alex was convinced they slept together. He hoped she would have changed her mind about how she felt about him, but he realized he was wrong. He realized she would never be into him. Stephanie watched him leave.

Stefan remembered admitting to Gabi about how he felt about her. He went off on her for going after his job. He said he wanted the job back. Li told him that he was crazy if he thought EJ would let him run the company. Stefan told him they would run the company together. He said their first order of business is to clean house at the company. EJ said traitors had to go. He said that Li needed to go. EJ left to file the proxy. Stefan told Gabi to clean out her desk. Li told her not to do anything until he finished talking to EJ. Li went after EJ so Gabi used that opportunity to get Stefan to talk about his memory of her. She knew he still loved her. She put her hand on his heart. She knew he still felt something. Li threatened EJ about trying to get him out of the company. He warned him that he would make Stefan turn on him immediately. He admitted that he was the one who got Rolf to bring Stefan back and turned him against Gabi. EJ reminded him that he could lose Gabi if he said anything about that. Li told him that his goal was to get DiMera. He said he was prepared to cut her loose. EJ didn’t believe him. EJ went back to meet with Stefan. He told him that the proxies were in order and they just had to wait for the vote. Gabi wanted to know if EJ and Li came to an understanding. He said they did. When they were alone he told her that EJ still had the votes. Li said he wouldn’t be fired, but his father wouldn’t help him. She didn’t know how she would get through that without his love for her. He stroked her hair. EJ and Stefan wanted to celebrate their victory. EJ told him that he will take over DiMera now that Gabi is out. He explained how the positions will go down at DiMera.

Sloan told Paulina that her client knew what Chanel did in college. Sloan gave Paulina a folder. Paulina read what was in the folder. She wanted to know what Sloan wanted. Sloan said she wanted to make financial arrangements between her client and Paulina. She said if Paulina didn’t give the money, Chanel would end up in prison. Sloan told her to look at the file and get back to her. Alex showed up to meet with Allie and Chanel. They told him that they wanted to have a threesome with him. Allie talked about the threesome, but she couldn’t say the name. Chanel thought Allie might not be ready if she couldn’t say the word. He was shocked that they wanted to have it since they turned him down when he first suggested it. He wanted to know what changed their minds. Allie said it was her idea because they were going through a rough patch. Chanel said it was an adventure they could share. They wanted it to be with him because he didn’t want anything. Chanel said he was single. Chanel asked if something was going on with Stephanie. He said he saw her with Chad. He said he was willing to do it. They went to have sex. Chad and Stephanie kissed each other at Julie’s. She pulled away from the kiss. She asked if it was too soon after Abby. He wanted to leave. She suggested they go to her place. He said he could prove that Jake was dead before the paperwork for their marriage was even filed. Johnny asked if it was true. He asked if she was married to Jake. She admitted that she wasn’t. She said she loved Jake. She said they were engaged. She told them it was Gabi’s idea. Ava said it was Gabi’s idea. EJ thought Ava knew the truth would eventually come out. She said he was right and apologized for lying to Johnny. Johnny said he didn’t care. He said he could see how much she loved Jake. He said she didn’t lie about anything else. EJ wanted to call the police, but Johnny told him not to. EJ said he wouldn’t call the police, but she had to leave town. He told her her bags were in the foyer. EJ told them to say goodbye to each other. Ava said it was okay that she was leaving. She said there was nothing left for her there. She said there was almost nothing. She apologized for them not knowing what could have been. He said he wanted to go with her. She said it would be better for them to part ways. She said they would have good memories. Tucker arrives late for his dinner with Ashley and she decides not to have dinner with him because it would not change her feelings about him.

Adam and Sally are having a nice dinner with good conversation until Adam mentions Nick and Sally thinks that Adam is just angry that she has moved on with his brother. At the hospital, John slams down the orchid that Orpheus sent in frustration as Stephanie arrives, thinking it’s the Orchid they have been looking for, and asks if John is out of his mind.

Steve sits with Kayla in the hospital and worries about her having a fever. Steve tells her that he’s here and not going anywhere. Tripp and Joey arrive to tell Kayla they are here too. Steve assures them that she’s not contagious. Joey hugs Kayla and tells her that he missed her.

Brady questions if Kristen is trying to say that she can cure Marlena when her doctors can’t. Kristen says she can cure Kayla and Kate too. Brady argues that the only treatment that can cure them is an Orchid that no longer exists. Kristen remarks that maybe the Orchid is closer than anyone knows. Brady asks if she’s trying to tell him that she has it. Kristen asks what if she is.

Stephanie panics over the Orchid, asking how the hell John could do this until John clarifies that it’s not that Orchid and was just one that could be found in any flower shop as it was sent from Orpheus. Stephanie calls Orpheus a son of a bitch for twisting the knife. John says that Orpheus is enjoying this and wrote that Marlena is going to die just like the flower. John is sorry she had to see that while Stephanie apologizes for yelling at him. John assures that he is just as scared as she is. Stephanie worries about what Kayla is going to do. John hugs her as she cries.

Steve tells Tripp and Joey that it’s so good to see them. Kayla asks why they are here and why they didn’t call. Joey says they couldn’t stay in Seattle. Tripp adds that they didn’t want them to try to talk them out of coming. Joey mentions Stephanie being vague. Tripp asks to be told what’s going on. Steve decides it’s time they knew. Kayla reveals that her, Marlena, and Kate have been poisoned. Steve says he’ll explain how it happened later. Tripp asks about an antidote but Kayla says there isn’t one which Steve confirms. Tripp wants to see her lab work and talk to her doctor. Steve praises Dr. Patel’s work. Joey asks if Kayla is in pain. Kayla says no and that she’s just sleepy and weak. Kayla adds that she’s not getting better. Tripp wishes they knew it was this serious. Kayla feels it was better this way as she didn’t want them to know, but she’s very glad they are here. Joey declares that they are not leaving until she gets better and he knows she will.

Brady accuses Kristen of lying. Kristen brings up Dr. Rolf brewing up the Orchid for Roman 25 years ago. Brady brings up that Dr. Rolf said it’s extinct and it can’t be duplicated. Brady adds that the police searched his lab and found nothing. Kristen suggests she moved the Orchid before they showed up. Brady warns her not to play with him. Kristen informs him that Dr. Rolf saved seedlings from the Orchid and secretly grew a new plant. Brady doubts her but asks where the orchid is if she has it.

Eric is at the Brady Pub, finishing a call with Billie as Jada enters. Jada tells Eric that she just got back from searching Dr. Rolf’s lab with Shawn and forensics but they found nothing. Jada says she’s sorry and asks how Marlena is. Eric admits she’s not good. Jada wonders if Dr. Rolf is telling the truth. Eric shouts that he doesn’t care what Dr. Rolf says because Marlena, Kate, and Kayla are running out of time. Jada assures that they are not giving up and that Shawn’s at the lab right now and called Rex to help him. Eric realizes that’s why Rex tore out of Roman and Kate’s wedding. Eric explains to Jada how he and Rex decided to check on Kate, then she and Roman decided to get married. Eric says it was hard to get through but they were so happy to get married. Eric notes that they have quite the history of being on and off, married and divorced, with two kids together. Jada encourages that Eric was able to marry them and they’ll always have that happiness no matter what now.

Kristen tells Brady not to worry as she has the Orchid stashed somewhere safe. Brady says he can see she’s loving this since she couldn’t break up he and Chloe or get custody of Rachel, so this is her new game. Brady doesn’t believe the Orchid exists so Kristen says she’ll prove she’s not bluffing. Kristen then shows her a photo on her phone of herself with the Orchid. Brady refuses to take her word for it. Kristen says it may be the miracle that Marlena needs. Kristen adds that the serum is being formulated as they speak while Marlena, Kayla, and Kate are fading fast. Kristen says she is doing everything in her power to help them while Brady is wasting time that they don’t have. Brady questions what she wants in return for providing the formula.

Joey asks Kayla what they can do or bring her. Kayla says having them here is all she needs. Steve decides to give her time alone with Tripp and Joey while he goes to check on Marlena. Steve notes that he won’t be gone long as he then exits. Joey questions Orpheus doing this to Kayla to get back at Steve. Joey then apologizes if she doesn’t want to talk about it. Kayla says it’s okay and adds that Orpheus also did it to get back at John and Roman. Tripp encourages that Kayla is the strongest woman he knows so if anyone can get through this, it’s her. Tripp talks about all the time he wasted being angry at Kayla and blaming her for what happened to Ava. Kayla says that’s all in the past. Kayla says she’s so proud of the men that they have become. Tripp mentions that he wouldn’t have tried to become a doctor if not for her. Joey says that Kayla and Steve saw him through the toughest time of his life, so he wishes he could do more for her now.

Stephanie tells John that she’s still kicking herself for jumping all over him and Steve for trying to protect her from Orpheus. John admits he was hopeful too that Orpheus had mellowed but Steve knew better. Steve then approaches so Stephanie gets up and hugs him. Stephanie asks how Kayla is. Steve says Joey and Tripp are in with her now. Stephanie is glad they could make it even though Kayla didn’t want them to see her like this. Steve notes that she changed her mind about that. Steve tells John that he just saw Marlena and talked to Belle. John worries that Marlena is getting weaker and weaker. Stephanie feels Tripp and Joey are probably mad at her for trying to keep them from coming so she goes to join them in Kayla’s room. Steve sits with John. John says that Steve was so right about Orpheus. John brings up Steve saying they needed to end Orpheus, but he talked him out of it. John swears that if their girls don’t make it, he will hunt Orpheus down himself and end him.

Kristen asks Brady what makes him think that she wants something which Brady laughs at. Brady guesses that if she gives him the Orchid, she gets shared custody of Rachel. Kristen asks what if that was the deal. Brady doesn’t want Marlena, Kate, and Kayla to die. Kristen remarks that it’s different from what he said in court. Brady tells her to stop wasting time and give him the Orchid, then he will give her what she wants. Kristen responds that she loves her little girl but shared custody isn’t what she wants. Kristen says she wants Brady to break it off with Chloe. Brady says no way in hell. Kristen declares that if Brady wants to save Marlena’s life, he must dump Chloe and get back together with her. Brady tells Kristen that he’ll get back with her when Hell freezes over and calls this insane, saying it won’t work. Brady argues that everyone would know she used the Orchid to blackmail him in to it. Kristen says if he says anything about it, the whole deal is off. Brady argues that nobody in town would believe it. Kristen argues that everyone will see he made the decision that’s best for Rachel and that Rachel hates Chloe which Brady blames Kristen for. Kristen argues that Rachel is miserable without her and says this would be the opportunity for her to grow up with both of her parents. Kristen adds that even Chloe will understand that. Brady calls her a monster. Kristen argues that she’s a mother who loves her child. Kristen states that there is no hope for Brady and Chloe, so he should end it with her now. Kristen remarks that Chloe is used to rejection and can handle it.

Chloe sits in the town square with Nicole, saying it’s taking everything in her to put distance between her and Brady but she knows she has to because Rachel can’t stand the sight of her right now. Nicole asks if Rachel needs to know they are together. Chloe doesn’t want to sneak around or do that to Brady when he’s in enough pain. Chloe complains that she doesn’t know what to do as she doesn’t know how to make this situation any less horrible. Nicole assures that she gets it more than she knows because she’d do anything to be there for Eric right now.

Eric tells Jada more about Roman and Kate’s wedding. Eric says he could see how scared Roman was that he could lose Kate, Kayla, and Marlena. Eric talks about Orpheus’ rage completely being at Roman. Jada mentions reading that in the case file and wishes she could do more to help. Eric encourages that she is helping. Jada talks about going over Dr. Rolf’s lab and wanting to be the hero who found something to give hope to Kayla, Marlena, and Kate. Jada adds that she wanted to be able to come to Eric and tell him that she did it for him.

Stephanie joins Tripp and Joey in Kayla’s hospital room. Stephanie asks if they can go talk out in the hall but they say they just got there so they aren’t leaving her. Stephanie apologizes for making it seem like it wasn’t as bad as it is. Joey questions why she did that while Tripp argues that they could’ve been here all this time. Kayla then informs them that it was her idea to keep them away.

John shows Steve the orchid he smashed on the floor and asks if Steve got one but he didn’t. John informs him that Orpheus sent it to Marlena to screw with their minds. Steve gets furious and declares he’s going to find Orpheus but John reminds him that they can’t leave the hospital with their girls like this. John convince Steve to sit back down. Steve brings up that Orpheus said he wants them to watch them die. John declares that they won’t let that happen. Steve talks about wanting to find a way to save them but this is science. John refuses to give up, so Steve asks what they can do. John tells Steve that they’ve faced impossible odds before and all the times they rescued each other. John admits he’s never felt as helpful as he does right now. Steve says it forces them to think of the possibility of life without their wives. Steve feels like a fool for all the years he spent away from Kayla. John knows what he means. Steve cries that he can’t do it again but they are running out of time and the odds are stacked against them. Steve notes that at least his whole family is together now since nothing makes Kayla happier than that. John declares that they are going to live for today and treasure every second they can. Steve agrees and heads back to Kayla’s room.

Kayla tells Tripp and Joey that she didn’t want them to come as she wanted to be able to call them and tell them that she was better. Joey points out that they aren’t kids. Kayla says Stephanie wanted them there and she was right. Kayla admits she’s so happy they are there. Steve comes back in and says he is too. Kayla points out that the five of them are all together. Joey doesn’t want to see her upset or crying. Kayla wishes she was at home, cooking for them. Steve encourages that she will do that when she gets better. Tripp suggests they have a family dinner right here. Joey agrees and offers to go get food with Tripp.

Nicole tells Chloe that Eric is the one who told her about Marlena, Kate, and Kayla and he was so broken up that she wasn’t even thinking when she hugged him and then Rafe and Jada walked in. Chloe asks how they reacted. Nicole says they were okay once they found out what was going on. Nicole adds that Rafe was great but Jada kind of staked her claim without saying a word that she is Eric’s girlfriend and it is her job to comfort him. Chloe asks if Nicole got that message. Nicole assures that she did. Nicole agrees that she’s married to Rafe and should back off from Eric, so she did. Nicole adds that Marlena is sick and when Eric is hurting, she feels like she wants to be there for him and admits she still feels that old pull.

Jada asks Eric if it sounds bad to want to be the hero during a time like this. Eric assures that he knows she’s not in it for the glory and is trying to help three women who need a miracle. Jada notes that she hasn’t heard from Shawn since leaving the lab so she decides to get back to the police station. Jada tells Eric that she’ll let him know if there’s any new developments. Eric says he’ll be here at the Pub in case Roman needs him. Eric tells Jada that she has been a person he can count on and kisses her as she then exits.

Brady goes over Kristen’s plan to have him break up with Chloe and then she will provide the serum to Marlena, Kate, and Kayla. Kristen reminds him that after breaking up with Chloe, he must reconcile with her and then they become a loving family with Rachel. Kristen adds that Brady can’t turn around and dump her after they are cured because Dr. Rolf said they will need a second dose a few months later and maybe a booster after that, while she is the only one who can see to it that they get it. Kristen declares that they are in it for the long haul. Brady warns her that the serum better work. Kristen points out that it did before but warns Brady not to take too much time thinking about it because the ladies don’t have any time left. Brady says if he walks away, three women die, so he’s in.

Stephanie tells Steve that she’s really glad Tripp and Joey are there since the three of them need each other. Steve talks about how happy Kayla’s been since Stephanie came home. Stephanie wants more time with her. Steve encourages her not to give up hope and says they just have to make every second with her as filled with joy as they can. Joey and Tripp then return with pizza.

Chloe questions Nicole saying she still has a pull towards Eric. Nicole comments on her looking disapproving. Nicole argues that Eric’s mother may be dying, so it makes sense that she wants to be with him. Chloe reminds her that she’s with him all the time since she hired him at Basic Black. Nicole argues that he’s a great photographer and asks Chloe to give her a break. Chloe says she’s only hard on her because she’s her friend, she loves her, and wants her to be happy. Nicole guesses Chloe is telling her not to do anything stupid again. Chloe tells her that she understands. Nicole admits it’s nice to talk about this with someone she trusts and calls Chloe a good friend. Chloe jokes that Nicole has heard enough of her troubles and feels she’s going to need her as they hug. They then walk off together.

Brady tells Kristen that he’s not sure she will hold up her end of the bargain, so he’s not going to say a damn word to Chloe until the first dose is administered and he has proof that it’s working. Kristen agrees but says as soon as they start recovering, he needs to go straight to Chloe to deliver the news. Brady remarks that unlike her, he keeps his promises, so he will break up with Chloe and then he, Kristen, and Rachel will all live as a family under one roof. Brady reminds Kristen that she may have succeeded in using their little girl and three innocent women to get what she wants, but there is no way on earth that she will make him love her. Brady declares that she will be a lot more lonely in a loveless relationship than she was on her own. Kristen says time will tell. Brady asks for details, so Kristen says the serum should be delivered to the hospital soon and it won’t be long before the miracle cure is John’s hands. Brady hates Kristen for doing this. Kristen remarks that there’s a thin line between love and hate. Brady warns her to be careful what she wishes for as he then exits.

Kayla cries that she’s never been happier than this moment and encourages her family to eat the pizza.

Eric leaves the Pub while on the phone with Sami. Eric knows she’s scared and that she wants to be there. Eric understands she needs to be there for Sydney. Eric remarks that in times like this, you got to get the strength from the people you love as he turns around and sees Nicole heading towards the Pub.

Kristen tells herself that she’s not a horrible person and is doing a good thing by saving lives and all sorts of people will be grateful to her. Kristen asks why she should be the one to end up alone. Kristen declares that she will have her family together again and no matter what Brady thinks now, he’ll learn to love her again. Kristen says she can’t just sit back and let Chloe steal everything she loves, so now she’ll be out of the picture for good. Chloe then shows up at Kristen’s door. Kristen laughs and calls it a coincidence as she was just thinking about her..

Jada goes to the hospital and introduces herself to John as she reveals that a vial full of serum from the Orchid was just delivered to the police station. Jada shows John the note that it came with. John reads that it says it can save the lives of Marlena, Kayla, and Kate. John worries that it’s another one of Orpheus’ tricks and goes to smash the vial when Brady arrives to stop him.

Elena: So, you confessed everything because of me?

Nate: I was trying to do the right thing. I thought it would be a relief to stop keeping this secret. But in all honesty, uh… yeah, I’m just lost. I knew that being the chief of surgery wasn’t the right job for me, so I was excited to move over to chancellor-winters. I had big plans for my future and the future of the company. Then, in one fell swoop, it all came tumbling down after I told everyone what I did. Devon fired me.

Elena: I’m sorry.

Nate: No, it’s okay because I gave it all up for you. Elena, you’re worth it.

Elena: I am sure that you’re gonna figure out your next step. And I have no doubt that everything will work out for you.

Nate: You mean for us.

Elena: Nate, there is no us anymore.

Jack: Oh, hi there. May I join you?

Ashley: I’m meeting tucker.

Jack: Tucker?

Ashley: We’re having dinner.

Jack: How did that happen? More importantly, why?

Ashley: He showed up at jabot and he wouldn’t stop bugging me until I agreed to meet with him. I figured I would just reiterate everything I’ve been telling him all along — there’s no chance for us.

Jack: I wish you didn’t even have to give him the time of day, but I understand your intent. So, where is he?

Ashley: Well, that’s the kicker. I think the bastard stood me up.

Tucker: I was literally walking out the door when you knocked.

Devon: Well, make time for me ’cause I’m gonna ask you one question, and I want a straight, honest answer out of you.

Tucker: Of course.

Devon: Did you come back to genoa city to go after chancellor-winters?

Tucker: Where did you get that idea? And — and how could you believe that I would actually do such a thing? Why would I ever do anything that might negatively affect my own son?

Devon: I don’t know why you would, but I don’t need you to answer my question with more questions. I need you to say yes or no. ‘Cause I just found out there’s another ceo in town who’s been receiving inside information that could benefit them in a takeover. And I want to know, is that person you?

Nick: I didn’t set up a dinner with sally tonight.

Chloe: You didn’t?

Nick: No. Why would you or she think i did?

Chloe: Well, someone invited her, and she’s at the grand phoenix rooftop right now meeting that person.

Chloe: Ohh, you know, I-i don’t know what is happening, but I don’t have a very good feeling about this.

Nick: Let’s — let’s calm down. I’m sure it’s a misunderstanding.

Chloe: Well, I’m not sure how that could be. Because sally gets this fancy invitation delivered by a courier, and who would go to those lengths just to mislead her?

Both: Adam.

Sally: You sent the invitation?

Adam: I, um, debated inviting you directly, but I knew that you wouldn’t come.

Sally: Yeah, you’re right about that.

Adam: And that is totally understandable, okay? I know how you feel, and I just wanted —

Sally: No, no, no. I’m gonna stop you right there. You don’t know how I feel.

Adam: I was just hoping that we could spend a little time together without any interruptions or distractions. I just want to sit down and talk, just the two of us, okay? Have an open and honest discussion.

Sally: Are you serious right now? Look what you did to lure me here. This is so like you. Everything with you is a manipulation. You wouldn’t know honesty if it smacked you in the face.

Adam: Yes, I know that I have done some duplicitous things, but if you will just let me explain, you will know that I am telling you the truth.

Sally: [ Scoffs ]

[ Doorknob rattles ] Open the door, adam.

Adam: Look, I am not forcing you to stay.

Sally: Really? ‘Cause it looks like you are. Open the door, or I am gonna call the cops and tell them that my crazy desperate ex tried to kidnap me.

Adam: Okay. But I’m asking you not to. I am begging you to stay just long enough to listen, okay? I’m sorry for deceiving you. It was wrong. And you’re right — my first instinct is probably to lead people to what I want instead of just asking.

Sally: Lead people? That is quite the euphemism. You manipulate them.

Adam: Alright. I will admit that. But, sally, look at me, okay? I’m stripping away any swagger or bluster that I may usually put on. I’m swallowing any pride that might get in my way. It’s just you and me here. And I promise you, all I’m asking for is a conversation.

Sally: We could have talked anywhere. Why all the bells and whistles?

Adam: I didn’t want to bear my soul at the coffee house. Just — I wanted us to have some privacy without the threat of interruption from work, or whatever. I-I still have so much to say to you. And I understand if you don’t want to hear it, but I’m hoping that you will give me one last chance to plead my case. Again, obviously, you can go if that’s what you want.

Sally: [ Sighs ] I-I’m not sure what I want.

Nate: Wait, wait, wait. Wh-what do you mean, there’s no more us? I did what I did for us.

Elena: I didn’t ask you to do that. I didn’t ask you to change your plans for us.

Nate: Yes, you did. You said you didn’t want to be with a man who allowed his ambition to drive his decision making. So I proved to you that I cared about more than just power — in a big way that blew up my career. I could have quietly pulled the plug on the ipo thing, but i owned up to everything. Isn’t that what you wanted?

Elena: Nate, I’m glad that you told everyone the truth. And I think in time you will be glad, too. But I didn’t want you to do all of this in a way to save our relationship. I wanted you to do it because it was the right thing to do for yourself. Because, with or without me, betraying your family for a business deal is a mistake.

[ Chuckles ] You still don’t think what you’re doing is wrong, do you?

Nate: I get that you see it that way.

Elena: Oh, in other words, you don’t actually see what the problem is. I am sorry to say this, nate, but…I don’t recognize you anymore. You are not the man that I fell in love with. Maybe you’re just a product of your circumstances. Being a doctor, saving people. I admired dr. Hastings.

Nate: Dr. Hastings ceased to exist the night devon sucker-punched me.

Elena: And I own my part in that. But the bottom line is, you’re right. The man you were is gone, maybe forever. And I don’t think it’s in my best interest to stick around to find out. For people who are a little intense about hydration.

Nate: So, you’re still planning to leave?

Elena: Nate, I am not going to put my life on hold to sit around and wait to see if the man that I love is going to disappoint me.

Nate: Disappoint you again, you mean. I don’t know how to stop doing that because nothing I do seems to please you.

Elena: I’m just saying I am going to take that interview.

Nate: Understood. You won’t pump the brakes on your professional ambition to save our relationship, but you forced me to.

Elena: I didn’t force you to do anything. I made a decision to pursue a career opportunity, just like you made a decision to put on a show to try to convince me to change my mind. That was your choice.

Nate: And your choice was to come all the way over to chancellor-winters and interrupt a meeting to announce you were leaving? But you weren’t forcing my hand.

Elena: That was not my intention.

Nate: Of course it was. Why else would you show up the way you did? But I won’t force you to admit it. It was my choice to confess because I thought I was making the choice for both of us. You leaving genoa city — that is all about you and you alone.

Tucker: Uh, I am not the ceo you’re talking about. But it does make me wonder what’s going on at chancellor-winters that would even make it possible for another ceo to take over. Are there significant changes happening at the company?

Devon: Well, you know there’s changes happening at the company ’cause we just merged.

Tucker: Right.

Devon: We’re a brand-new company, essentially. So, yeah, of course, there’s a lot of things still falling into place.

Tucker: Okay. Uh, well, it’s obvious you’re flying blind as to who this person is. I’d like to try to protect you in any way I can, and I have the resources to help. So, why don’t you let me? What can you tell me about this leak? ‘Cause I could put my people on it and uncover whoever and whatever’s at play here.

Devon: No, no, ’cause we have our own people to do that kind of thing. And what information do you imagine you’d find out about our company since you’re not a part of it?

Tucker: [ Chuckling ] Well, I’ve been around the block a few times. Generally, if there’s information to be had, there’s a way to uncover it.

Devon: Right. Well, thank you, but we’re all set.

Tucker: Alright. I just want to help. At the very least, you know, you need to identify and oust this leaker, try to control whatever damage they did to whatever extent you can.

Devon: Yeah, well, that leak has been plugged.

Tucker: Has it? You don’t seem that sure, son. You just say the word. I’ll be right there for you.

Chloe: Why aren’t you more upset about this?

Nick: I’m not surprised adam would do this. I’ve come to expect it from my brother.

Chloe: Well, at the very least, he’s getting sally alone to try to win her back. So I think you should go over there and stop him before he tries to sink his hooks into her. Okay. Fine. I’ll do it.

Nick: No. Chloe, stop. Please don’t do that.

Chloe: Why not? Are you gonna march over there and put an end to this little rendezvous?

Nick: I don’t think either one of us should interfere. I know sally can take care of herself. And who knows? Maybe this is what adam and sally need to either get closure or to…reconnect.

Sally: Fine. Fine. I will have dinner with you.

Adam: Thank you. Okay? I promise you will not regret it.

Sally: I have heard that before.

Adam: Well…

Sally: [ Sighs ] This is…kind of nice.

Adam: Yeah.

Sally: So, where do we start?

Adam: Uh…with appetizers?

Sally: Cute. [ Chuckles ] But I meant, like, I feel like we should just get to it… ’cause [Scoffs] I… might leave here in the next five minutes because I don’t — I don’t know if I’m gonna believe anything that you have to say and I really don’t know if I can ever let you back in.

Adam: Okay. That is fair. I understand that your guard’s up. I know it’s hard to just trust someone again. But I’m hoping that, deep down, you can feel our connection and you know that it is honest. Okay, sally? You see me. You know me. I have shared more with you in a short amount of time than I have ever felt comfortable sharing with anyone. And I think you feel the same way.

Sally: I did. At one point.

Adam: Are you really that attached to someone else so soon? Was it really that easy for you to move on? Some days, it felt like asthma was holding me back.

Sally: I really don’t know how to answer that question. And it actually doesn’t even matter ’cause this isn’t about my feelings for anyone else. I could be seeing any and every other guy in genoa city, and it would have no bearing on the way that I feel about you. The only person that has the power to affect the way that i feel about you is you. You made me feel used, manipulated, and lied to. And I thought we had something special.

Adam: Sally, we did have something special.

Sally: Look, if you want this conversation to be open and honest, it also has to be about accepting that there may be no going back after everything that happened.

Adam: Okay. I accept that. But I am going to prove you wrong.

Chloe: Sally and adam do not need to reconnect, not now or ever.

Nick: Well, I, of course, agree with you. But it is her call.

Chloe: Everything about that relationship is toxic. And sally needs distance and time to heal. And if you’re okay with that, then great, but if this involves some sort of game about you getting back at your brother — let me rephrase that. If you break sally’s heart, I’ll break your legs. Got it?

Nick: I got it. You are a good friend to sally. I’m glad she has you. I don’t know where things stand with us. I would like to find out, but it will be at a pace that sally is comfortable with.

Chloe: You realize you may not get that chance, right? Things might not be going anywhere if adam can successfully work his voodoo on her.

Jack: But if you have no intention of letting him in, why go through with all of this? Wouldn’t it be easier just to ice him out entirely?

Ashley: I have another reason to want to meet with him, jack. I spoke with you about it earlier. Something fishy’s going on with tucker, okay? It has nothing to do with me or his desire to reconnect with his family. I’m more convinced than ever that he had some kind of involvement with diane while she was living in los angeles.

Jack: So, you’re going to use his contrition to get information out of him.

Devon: I need you to know that all this probing and questioning into what’s going on at the company isn’t making me feel very comfortable right now, okay?

Tucker: I’m just concerned for you.

Devon: I — I understand that, but you need to understand that I’m still just taking your word that you’re not the ceo who’s getting information, alright? And I’m not gonna be pulled or pushed into any corners.

Tucker: I’m — [ Chuckles ] I’m sorry. D-did I say or do something to offend you?

Devon: No, you didn’T. It’s me. It’S… this is a lot. It’s a lot to process, finding out something like this.

Tucker: Sure.

Devon: It’s got me looking at everybody crazy. I’m sure you can understand that. I appreciate you wanting to help me, but I’m gonna take care of this myself — ’cause personal issues are one thing, business is a different thing. I know you understand that as a businessman.

Tucker: I do. I do.

Devon: Good.

Tucker: Yes, I’m a businessman, but I’m also your father. And these days, you know what being a father means.

Elena: Maybe I am being selfish going to baltimore. But you’ve been going through so many changes. And as much as I’d like to be there by your side, I think this is something that you need to do alone.

Nate: I thought our relationship meant more to you than this.

Elena: It used to mean everything. But it has been excruciating watching you struggle through this moral dilemma. And I have tried to support you in the best way that I could, but I think I just need to realize that the man that I’ve been holding on to is not the man who’s standing in front of me.

Nate: Hey… sit. I’m sorry that things have gotten so contentious between us.

[ Sighs ] I don’t know how we got here. But I still believe we can fix this.

Elena: I can’t see how.

Nate: We can get out of this place we’re in if we do it together because we are stronger united than we are apart. Because I’m still the same man who you fell in love with, the man who wants… nothing more…

[ Breathes deeply ] …Than for you to come back home.

Elena: [ Voice breaking ] I don’t know, nate.

Nate: Remember us. Huh? Remember us. You’re all I have. Don’t go. Please stay.

Elena: [ Gasps ] So, you’re 45.

Nate: I know who I am.

Elena: I don’t think you do. Because you still don’t understand that everything that’s happened to you is a direct result of your choices. And it doesn’t matter how many times I tell you. What matters is that you know that what you did was wrong. I tried to talk through this with you. I wanted to work on our relationship. Why do you think I went on board with the podcast for chancellor-winters? It was because I wanted to be closer to you.

Nate: I know that. I was looking forward to working side by side again, collaborating as a team like we used to.

Elena: Nate, it all sounds good in theory. But we haven’t been a team in a long time. And I just don’t see a future with you anymore.

Jack: What makes you think that diane and tucker were in cahoots in L.A.? And, frankly, what business is it of yours what diane did with her time there?

Ashley: It’s my business because she’s involved with my family — you, kyle, and harrison. And I’m just as protective of you as you are of me, whether you like it or not.

Jack: Boy, digging up dirt on diane seems to be genoa city’s new favorite pastime. So, what have you found out?

Ashley: Nikki told me something she found out when she was in los angeles last week. Apparently, diane was seen in the company of a very wealthy, bentley-driving gentleman while she was living there.

Jack: Diane was gone for years. She has every right to be involved with anyone she wants to, including someone of means.

Ashley: You don’t think it’s a little odd that tucker shows up in genoa city with the same make and model bentley as a gift for diane’s son?

Tucker: It was also a gift for phyllis’s daughter. Does that make phyllis part of tucker’s conspiracy? I’m just saying this is all conjecture on your part. There’s no real evidence here. You and nikki are working very hard to ruin someone’s life.

Ashley: Wow. How deep has diane gotten under your skin?

Jack: [ Sighs ]

Adam: Ah! Can end any feud. I remember. I miss this. You know, not just the relationship or the romance, but the, um, friendship. You know? I could always count on you as a confidante. You were, um, a true friend to me. And believe it or not, i actually don’t have many of those.

Sally: Yeah, well [Sighs] That makes two of us. I miss our friendship, too. You saw things in me that no one else ever did.

Adam: No, I could see how amazing you were from the moment we met, long before we started seeing each other, before I saw you through a lens of love. Now I can’t see you through anything else.

Sally: Yeah, well… that was before.

Adam: [ Sighs ] Yep. Before I blew everything up with a series of very foolish mistakes.

[ Sighs ] Look, I’m not using this as an excuse, but I’ve gotten pretty used to having nobody to trust. And when I finally realized that I finally found someone that i could, I was filled, sally, with this overbearing desire to protect you. I mean, not only from the backlash that I’m sure was gonna come from my family, but from the damage that I’ve historically done to the people who care about me. And [Sighs] Once I finally realized the terrible mistake that I had made, all I wanted to do was to keep you safe. So I pushed you as far away as possible. I chased you away and hurt you in ways that I have spent long nights regretting. It’s in ways that I can never take back. And I want you to know that I am truly, deeply sorry for lying to you, for hurting you… and for loving you.

Sally: Loving me?

Adam: If I never would have fallen in love with you, we wouldn’t be where we are now, sally. Okay, I need you to know, as much as I treasure the memories of all the joyous times we spent together, I would have given it all up if it meant that I never caused you a moment of pain.

Nick: Yes, I, uh — I would like to, uh, see where our friendship goes, um, but I would be an idiot to ignore the fact that the adam and sally chapter isn’t completely closed.

Chloe: Well, it should be. Slammed shut.

Nick: Maybe. But I’ve heard from both adam and sally. There are conflicting feelings from both sides, and those are feelings that sally needs to work through before we go any further. Because one thing I am not on the fence about is — if we’re going to take our relationship to another level, she’s got to be completely sure that she wants to be with just me.

Chloe: Yeah, I get that. You don’t want to be involved with someone who’s still hung up on someone else. But I think you’re underestimating how difficult a time sally’s had letting go of adam and how hard adam fights for something he wants.

Nick: [ Sighs ] Yeah, possibly. But maybe you’re not giving sally enough credit for how well she can assert or stand up for herself. Or maybe you’re giving adam too much credit for how strong his hold is on her.

Sally: Here’s to great conversations.

Adam: I know you think i can’t understand what this has been like for you and I don’t get what you’re struggling with, but I think I do.

Sally: You’ve been doing a lot of thinking, huh? Please enlighten me, oh, wise one.

Adam: I know you may think you have feelings for nick, but he’s just a way to help you forget what you and I have.

Sally: So, this is about nick.

Adam: No. It’s — no, it’s not. What — what I meant to say is —

Sally: No, I know — I know what you meant because you — you — you said it. You opened your mouth. The words came out. So, thank you for being honest. I mean, everybody knows your history with your brother. I mean, is this really even about me, or is this just about beating nick? He can get some good job at newman, but you could stop him from getting me? Did you mean anything that you just said? Or is this some power move to best nick and win me back like some kind of prize?

Jack: Diane has not gotten under my skin. I’m just not willing to accept that she and tucker have some kind of partnership in who knows what because they both happened to live in L.A. And had a passing acquaintance with bentleys. It’s too big a stretch. And how does that connect them? And to what end?

Ashley: I don’t know, but nikki and I are gonna find out.

Jack: I don’t like where this is going. You two are trying to ruin diane.

Ashley: You can’t ruin somebody if they haven’t done anything wrong, right?

Jack: You could do a lot of damage along the way. My principal concern is kyle. He finally has a decent relationship with his mother. I’m not gonna let that implode because of unproven accusations. You said you and I have the same thing in mind. We want to protect our family. Fine. I’m telling you — don’t do anything to hurt my son.

Devon: I’m gonna take off. And I apologize for just barging the way I did, okay?

Tucker: No, no, no. Listen. You’re always welcome here. Always. Next time, bring dominic, damn it. I want to meet my grandson.

Devon: Since you say you understand how personal fatherhood is to me these days, I want your word as a father and as a grandfather now that you’re telling me the truth about chancellor-winters.

Tucker: You have my word. I would never make any kind of business play that might harm you or jeopardize our relationship in any way.

Devon: Alright.

[ Door closes ] (Vo) at the tidy cats innovation lab.

Elena: I made up my mind. I’m going to baltimore. I think it’s the best thing for me right now. And even if I don’t get the job, I think I need to be alone for a bit. You probably should be, too.

Nate: Got it.

Elena: I will call you when i get back into town, and we can arrange for me to get my stuff. I’ll probably do it while you’re at work.

Nate: I won’t be at work. I was fired, remember?

Elena: Not because of me.

[ Sighs ]

[ Door closes ]

Nate: [ Sighs heavily ] Victoria, it’s nate. We need to meet. There’s been a development, and, um, it’s not good.

Ashley: I would never do anything to hurt kyle. You know that.

Jack: I am just telling you to slow down. You are jumping from one conclusion to another.

Ashley: I — let’s talk about this little bit later, okay?

Tucker: Hey. Sorry I’m late. My sincere apologies. There was an emergency with devon, and I couldn’t get away.

Ashley: Oh. Is dominic okay?

Tucker: Oh, no, it had nothing to do with him.

Ashley: Oh. Thank goodness. Uh, actually, I think you did us both a favor by being late. Um, this dinner would have been a massive waste of time because I wasn’t gonna give you the benefit of the doubt, tucker. I was just gonna give you enough rope to hang yourself. And you gave me enough time to realize that I didn’t want to stoop to that kind of childish behavior, so —

Tucker: Wait a minute. Wait. Wait. Wait. Please.

Ashley: No. I’m sure I’ll see you around.

Jack: Does this mean you’re letting go of what we discussed earlier?

Ashley: Not a chance. I’ll see you later, boys.

Tucker: She’s something else, isn’t she?

Jack: She’s out of your league.

Tucker: [ Chuckles ] Always nice to see you, jack.

Jack: Stay. Have a seat. We need to talk.

Adam: Look, I want a time machine to go back five minutes to take back what I said, okay? This has nothing to do with nick. This is about me and you. But I can’t pretend not to know that you’re involved with somebody else. I mean, both of you have admitted it to me, sally, and i can’t not address the elephant in the room — that you’ve moved on.

Sally: I moved on because you dumped me. Oh, my god. To think I almost fell for this ruse. I almost got lulled back into some false sense of security and nostalgia, all so you can accomplish some sort of agenda of yours yet again?

Sally: No, that is not what I am doing, sally. I don’t want to do anything else to hurt you. All I want to do is make you happy.

Sally: No, you don’T. You just can’t stand the fact that I’m with someone else. And the worst part is that that person is your brother.

[ Sighs ] I heedlessly threw myself into the creation of this dating app. It became kind of a calling or a healing after ellie, but I-I was so focused on perfecting the app that I-I failed to see that I — I inadvertently was creating a tool that could be used for nefarious purposes. M-my — my — my algorithm is basically a master key for the internet. I know, and I-I always knew you were too brilliant for your own good. I know. Like dr. Frankenstein, I got so caught up in the act of creation, I failed to see the monster that my work could beget. Okay, first of all, you got to stop and listen to me, okay? No matter how reckless you think your algorithm is, it’s amazing. You are a genius. And, second, you weren’t trying to hurt anyone. That’s not you. Is there a third? Yes. You can never — and I repeat, never — tell anyone about this. The nsa can never find out. I understand. And, thankfully, the only thing that cody demanded for his silence was a fake match on society setups. So far. Weren’t you and cody dating?

[ Scoffs ] We had the one disaster date that ended with me upending my wine on his head. Then we had a non-date the night of the quartermaine picnic. When I actually agreed to a second real date, I showed up, and cody was really distracted. That’s weird. now you can’t be bothered? Well, I mean, he has had a lot on his mind lately. Right, like combing out horse manes or ointment for saddle sores.

[ Scoffs ] Oh, wow. Wait. I mean, you don’t know? So listen, man, look, if it’s over with you and britt, just — I think you dodged a bullet. I mean, you gotta admit, britt’s never boring. I mean, she’s smart as hell. She’s got…killer legs and a fiery sense of humor. While I plead the fifth on the legs, I agree with you on the rest. Thing is about her, she always just is always looking out for number one. So is everyone. No, not you. Say what you want, but you’re there for your friends. You were for me, anyway. Alright. I think ashby is our “in.” That would explain her sudden interest in transparency. Maybe victor realizes that we’re getting close, and he wants to limit our resources. I believe that ashby’s connection to victor is going to give us leverage. And, uh, you’re gonna use this how?

One of the local stationsdid a hit-piece on me, and then at the meeting, peyton made me out to be some out-of-town troublemaker who flies in just to mess with “decent people’s lives.” Oh, no. Did she really say that phrase? Yeah. “Decent people”?Yeah, she said that and more. She is a bitter, spiteful woman who is determined to make it my fault that her family imploded. Well, you know, some people just don’t want to face the truth. And that woman does not want to admit that she was married to a depraved creep. And, honey, her life is her responsibility. So don’t you let her inflict her garbage on you. I won’T. It’S… it’s just so sad that peyton can’t see, by holding on to the past, it’s keeping her from moving on with her own life. The news feature touched on reese’s accident. That must have been hard for you. Yeah. You know, dredging up that accident, it made me sick to my stomach. But drew helped me realize that the accident wasn’t my fault and that I could forgive myself and let go of the guilt. Honey, that’s huge!

[ Chuckles ] I’m so proud of you. So, maybe this detour was destined to be. I think it has more meaning than a leadership seminar. Oh, it has meaning, alright. Coming to jacksonville gave me closure. And drew being here with me is what made the difference. Well, it’s not absolutely 100% for sure until the dna test is done, but the dates match up, and my mom and mac seem pretty convinced. It’s looking like cody is mac’s son. So now you can see why he’s been a little distracted? That is so unfair!

[ Chuckles ] My long-lost relative was peter august, and cody gets mac scorpio? Who, according to you, is, like, the best dad ever? Okay. Yes. If there was a competition for best long-lost relative, cody would definitely win. But that’s what’s so puzzling. He hit, like, the dad jackpot. So why won’t he take that dna test to lock that down?

[ Chuckles ] Well, a new family member can really throw you for a loop. And we’re potentially talking about cody’s father. I see your point. I mean, look what peter did to our lives, what he’s still doing. What do you mean?

[ Groans ] That box of his effects. You still have that?! I didn’t feel like it was right getting rid of it. See? This is why we should have gone with our original instinct, which was to let me get rid of it. I was two seconds away from throwing it out before you called me and told me you wanted it back. No, no, no. Peter doesn’t do anything without an agenda. There had to be a reason why he left me that box. And one day I want the opportunity to go back to them and figure out what the hell he was up to. Britt, the only good thing peter ever did was give me bailey lou. Other than that, his existence was meaningless. Okay, I think we’re getting a little off course here. All I was trying to say was that I can see how this could be a lot for cody to take in. I mean, it’s not just mac. A new dad comes with a whole family. Right. Me. And my kids. I mean, cody and I are gonna be quasi-siblings. That’s why I wanted your opinion of him. And then detective falconeri would have to inform the nsa about spinelli’s universal key that apparently unlocks, like, all of the internet. Yeah, well, the thought has crossed my mind. So it’s better not to tell dante. Yeah, for now. I am gonna take you at your word. But if you hurt spinelli… you’ll wish you were never born.

[ Breathes deeply ] Good chat. Anna didn’t get what she wanted, so she brought you home to catch me. To — doing what, exactly? Oh. Not cheating. No, not — not cheating. Oh, please. Katie: But what if she weren’t? What if she were available? Can you honestly say that you would stay away?

[ Brooke sighs ]

Ridge: You don’t have to rush out of here.

Steffy: Oh, please.

Taylor: No, no, you don’T. You don’T. I’m sure the kids miss you and…

Steffy: Oh, okay. Yeah, I’m– I’m going.

Taylor: I’m– I’m gonna help you. I’ll help you pack.

Steffy: Dad, I love you.

Ridge: I love you more.

Steffy: Oh, I’m so glad you came to your senses. I am.

Taylor: Come on.

[ Phone rings ]

[ Phone beeps ]

Ridge: Thomas, hey, I just talked to you.

Thomas: Hey, dad. Um, can you talk? You alone?

Ridge: I am alone.

Thomas: Yeah, I just wanted to check on you after everything. So, brooke never…

Ridge: No, she did not. Look, I just want her to admit it, that’s all.

Thomas: She still didn’t confess to calling cps on me and trying to separate me from my son?

Ridge: No, she did not. What about you? Did you hear from child services ever?

Thomas: No. Nothing. Look, dad, I know you’re hurting, but walking away from brooke is the best thing you could have done for yourself and your family. And I– I want to thank you. Not only for going back to mom and reuniting our family, but sticking up for me and my relationship with my son. So, forget about brooke. All right? Focus on mom, your life and your future together.

Ridge: Okay. I’ll talk to you soon.

[ Phone beeps ] Some days, it felt like asthma was holding me back.

Katie: I’m not trying to put you on the spot or make you defensive. I’m just… I’m just trying to be realistic.

Bill: People change, katie.

Katie: They do. We both have. Would I like to reconcile with you and be a family again and spend my life with you? Yes, that’s what I’ve always wanted. I know you love me.

Bill: Of course I do.

Katie: But you also love my sister. And that’s something I can’t live with. Goodbye, bill.

[ Phone ringing ]

[ Phone beeps ]

Bill: What is it, othello?

Othello: I’ve got some news you’ll want to hear.

Bill: Is there a problem? Everything okay with steffy and taylor at the house?

Othello: Yeah, yeah, everybody’s good. Well, almost everyone. Brooke is here.

Bill: What? Brooke’s in– in aspen at the house?

Othello: Yeah, and she’s not alone. She wasn’t the only one. Bill, ridge is here as well. But here’s the thing. They didn’t come together.

I showed up just to check on

things, and I saw ridge

and brooke outside,

and it was pretty intense.

Bill: What do you mean? How intense?

Othello: The marriage is over, bill.

Bill: Uh, how could you make that determination?

Othello: Lots of crying. Ridge is in the house right now with steffy and taylor, and they’re looking like one happy little family.

Bill: What about brooke?

Othello: Oh, she left. A contact told me she got on the forrester jet and she headed back to los angeles. That was a while ago, though, so she’s probably gonna be there soon.

Bill: Thanks for the– for the information. I– I appreciate it.

[ Phone beeps ]

[ Intercom beeps ]

Pilot: We’re clear to land.

Welcome home to los angeles,

mrs. Forrester.

[ Brooke sobs gently ]

[ Owl hooting ]

[ Taylor chuckling ]

Taylor: Ridge.

[ Taylor laughing ]

Ridge: Oh, boy. Steffy?

Taylor: Yeah, who else? You know, I– I love our kids, but, um–

Ridge: Yeah, I do too, but it’s nice to be alone.

Taylor: Yeah. We waited a long time for this.

Ridge: Sorry I made you wait.

Taylor: But you’re here now.

Ridge: Uh-huh.

Taylor: I love you.

Ridge: I love you too.

Carter: Hey. Here’s the, uh, final budget for the international campaign. I was able to get you a little more than what you proposed. What’s wrong?

Katie: It’s nothing.

Carter: Well, it doesn’t seem like nothing. Talk to me. I’m your friend. What’s going on?

Katie: I saw bill. And he says that he wants to make up for all of his mistakes and that he wants me back.

Carter: And that’s not a good thing?

Katie: It’s a great thing. I just have to wonder that if my sister were available, would he be standing on her doorstep? I just don’t want to go through that again.

Ridge: I can’t ever lose you again. You bring out the best in me. You know me better than anybody. My logan.

Brooke: Your logan.

[ Brooke laughing ]

Ridge: My mother always

wanted us to be together.

So, what do you think, logan?

Will you marry me?

Brooke: Yes, ridge,

I will marry you.

[ Knock at door ]

Ridge: Okay.

Taylor: Yeah.

[ Ridge exhales sharply ]

[ Taylor chuckles ] Yeah, you’re welcome. That was worth the wait.

[ Taylor laughs ]

Ridge: I’m a lucky man.

Taylor: Yeah, you are. And don’t you forget it. Am I dreaming?

Ridge: I don’t think so.

Taylor: I love you so much.

Ridge: I love you.

Brooke: I want to be alone, bill.

Bill: Ridge let you down again. I’m sorry.

Brooke: Why are you here?

Bill: Because I told you i would always be here for you. I meant it.

Brooke: Ridge left me for taylor. But it just doesn’t make any sense. And I don’t know why. Why?

Thomas: You heard the recording, dad.

Brooke: I’d like to report a child in danger.

Thomas: It was her voice.

Woman: And your name, ma’am?

Brooke: Brooke logan.

Thomas: It was brooke. But it wasn’t you. It was me.

[ Beeping ]

[ Whirring ]

Brooke’s voice: But it wasn’t you. It was me.

Roman is in his room on the phone with Rex while Kate sleeps in bed behind him. Roman tells Rex that Kate is resting now but asks if there’s anything more he can do for her. Rex is at the hospital and tells Roman that at this point, just let her rest and keep her spirits up. Roman agrees to do his best and thanks him. Rex asks Roman to tell Kate that he will be by soon when she wakes up. Roman then hangs up. Sarah then approaches Rex at the hospital.

John sits with Marlena in the hospital and encourages her to keep fighting, noting that they have been through Hell and back to be together. Belle and Eric join him in the room. Eric asks if there really is no cure other than the orchid. Belle asks what Dr. Rolf said when John and Steve confronted him. John says that Dr. Rolf swore to know nothing about this and insisted he didn’t have the orchid.

Dr. Rolf goes to see Kristen at her apartment. Kristen mockingly asks why he’s so upset. Dr. Rolf says this is serious and reveals that the police showed up with a search warrant and are tearing up his lab as they speak. Kristen remarks that they know what they won’t find as she holds the Orchid with her. Dr. Rolf is glad she is so calm. Kristen asks what he’s so worried that the police will find in his lab and asks if there’s anything illegal laying around. Dr. Rolf says he moved everything out but complains about how disrespectful it is to his work. Kristen talks about taking care of the Orchid and how they know if the flower dies, so does Kayla, Marlena, and Kate.

Kate wakes up and calls out for Roman. Roman brings her water and says that Rex made him promise to keep her hydrated. Kate asks if he’s been at her side the whole time which he confirms. Kate feels very lucky. Roman doesn’t know what he would do if he couldn’t be with her. Kate encourages that he needs to go see Kayla. Roman states that Kayla has Steve and he’s been checking in, so Kate is stuck with him watching after her. Kate asks if they’ve found the Orchid. Roman responds that they are still looking. Kate complains that she’s tired of feeling like this and having to fight to keep her eyes open. Roman encourages her to not give up and stay here with him. Kate asks if he has big plans. Roman responds that he does have to show her something and she won’t want to miss it. Roman then presents Kate with a ring and gets down on his knee to propose to Kate.

Sarah tells Rex that she’s sorry about his mom. They talk about Kate not being in the hospital as she wanted to be in her own bed with Roman around. Rex calls Roman the best treatment she could ask for since there is no medicine or treatment.

Kate praises the ring as Roman tells Kate that she is as beautiful as ever. Kate says she’s done a lot of questionable things in her life but she must have done one thing right. Roman praises her and jokes about needing an answer so he can get off his knees. Kate responds that she’s sorry but she has to say no.

Brady and Chloe lay in bed together as Chloe brings up breaking up. Chloe talks about Kristen trying to drive a wedge between them, causing one between Brady and Rachel. Brady encourages that it will all work out in the end and that Rachel will come around. Brady assures that he is putting Rachel first. Chloe complains that Rachel hates her and that’s not going to change anytime soon, so if Rachel’s happiness is most important to him then she thinks they need to break up. Brady points out that if they break up, it would be giving Kristen exactly what she wants.

Kristen thanks Dr. Rolf for trusting her to care for the Orchid. Dr. Rolf points out she gave him no choice. Kristen points out that if she didn’t take it, it would’ve fallen in to the wrong hands. Dr. Rolf admits that the police would have it and then Rex would use it as the cure for Marlena, Kate, and Kayla. Dr. Rolf then asks if Kristen plans on holding on to the orchid until the three women die.

Belle asks what if the police come up empty handed at Dr. Rolf’s lab. John then gets a text from Shawn, confirming there is no orchid in the lab. Marlena wakes up and says she hopes nobody is giving up on her just yet.

Roman gets up and admits he wasn’t expecting Kate to turn down his proposal. Kate says she’s sorry but to look where they are. Roman jokes that he would’ve preferred to take her to Paris but his hands are tied. Kate tells him that there is no cure and they both know what that means. Kate says she’s been close to death before but not like this. Roman refuses to give up. Kate tells Roman that she loves him for everything he’s done for her but she’s filled with regrets for all the time she wasted making bad choices. Kate talks about all the years that Roman loved her and she was too stupid or proud to admit that she loves him back. Roman says that doesn’t matter anymore since he has her now and has no intention of letting her go. Roman calls every second with her precious and he wants the world to know that she is his wife forever. Roman pleads with Kate to say yes to his proposal so they will be husband and wife in this moment. Kate then accepts his proposal and they kiss.

John assures Marlena that nobody is giving up on her here. Belle says they will fight with her every step of the way. Marlena says she will take all the help. Eric offers to say a prayer which Marlena admits she would like. Eric, Belle, John, and Marlena then all join hands as Eric says a prayer for God to keep her with them longer.

Kristen tells Dr. Rolf that if Kate, Kayla, and Marlena do die, some would say it’s Dr. Rolf’s fault for creating the pathogen. Rolf argues that he had nothing to do with infecting the women and talks about how he began formulating the antidote serum with the orchid just in case. Kristen points out that then he could save the day and prove his innocence. Dr. Rolf says he’s innocent. Kristen says she is too but Dr. Rolf points out that she is keeping the orchid herself instead of saving the women. Kristen calls that not a crime and says she’s come to like having the orchid around. Dr. Rolf argues that if Kristen wanted the women to die, she would have destroyed the orchid instead of leaving it to chance that someone could find it. Dr. Rolf asks Kristen what her real plan is.

Belle tells Marlena to let them know if she needs anything. Marlena asks about Kate and Kayla. Eric says they are hanging in, just like her. Marlena asks about Roman. Eric notes that Roman hasn’t left Kate’s bedside for a second. Marlena tells Eric that he should go too which he questions. Marlena says she loves having him here but she thinks Roman needs him. Eric refuses to go anywhere. Marlena points out that Belle and John are here. Eric still doesn’t want to go but Marlena questions if he’s going to argue with her in this condition. Marlena says to give them her love. Eric then agrees to go check on Roman and Kate but says he’s coming right back. Eric tells Marlena that he loves her. Eric then hugs John and Belle before leaving the room. John then gets a call from Sami and gives the phone to Marlena. Marlena tells her that she’s much better after hearing her voice.

Kristen remarks that maybe it would serve her right if she let Marlena die. Dr. Rolf argues that it’s not her endgame since Marlena is Rachel’s grandmother and their rivalry over John is in the past. Kristen complains that Marlena refused to help her with Brady and Rachel. Dr. Rolf knows Kristen doesn’t take her eyes off the prize and the only prize to her is Brady while she has a rival for Brady’s affections.

Chloe questions Brady being willing to risk his relationship with his daughter so that Kristen can’t win. Brady says it’s more than that as he loves Chloe so much, so he’s not going to let anyone keep them apart. Chloe doesn’t want to be the reason he loses his daughter. Brady assures that he won’t. Chloe worries that Rachel’s anger won’t get better. Brady insists that Rachel will come around and be fine. Chloe asks what if she’s never fine with them being together. Brady says he doesn’t have an answer but he knows that sacrificing their happiness is not it.

Dr. Rolf talks about Kristen having him resurrect Stefan to go after Chloe in hopes he would woo her away from Brady but it didn’t work, so he thinks the Orchid is plan B. Kristen tells him that her motives are none of his business. Kristen tells him to trust her judgment like he would with Stefano. Dr. Rolf doesn’t think Stefano would approve of her putting Marlena at risk to get her husband back. Kristen warns Dr. Rolf to watch his place. Dr. Rolf argues that his place is upholding Stefano’s legacy. Kristen asks why he’s so worried about Marlena and points out that he has a stash of clones ready to go. Dr. Rolf claims to have no idea what she’s talking about. Dr. Rolf asks if this was about Marlena, does that make Kayla and Kate just collateral damage?

Kate thanks Roman for giving her life and love. Roman cannot wait to make her his bride. Roman then gets a call from prison and it’s Lucas. Roman asks if Kate feels up to talking to him. Kate says she has good news to tell him so Roman gives her the phone. Kate then informs Lucas that she’s getting married.

Sarah asks Rex if there’s anything she can do to help. Rex appreciates the offer but says without the Orchid, nothing can be done. Rex tells Sarah that he just wants her to be happy in her life after he messed up with them badly, but he’s grateful for the time they had. Sarah says she is too.

Kate tells Lucas that she’s so proud of him for taking responsibility for everything he did and calls it such a brave thing to do. Kate wishes Lucas peace and happiness. Kate is sure Lucas will be the man and father to his children that she knows he can be. Kate tells him that she loves him so much. Kate assures that she will see him when he gets out as they hang up. Kate tells Roman that she couldn’t tell him the truth because Lucas is suffering enough. Roman bets that Kate will see Lucas when he’s released. Kate says right now, she just wants to enjoy this moment with Roman. Roman wants her to be his wife. Kate doesn’t think they have time to get married but Roman says they can do it right here as all they need is an officiant and a witness. Rex and Eric then arrive. Roman calls it their lucky day as they are just in time for a wedding.

Kristen asks if Dr. Rolf is suddenly developing a conscious. Dr. Rolf calls it self preservation. Kristen responds that if any of them die, it won’t be traced back to Dr. Rolf. Dr. Rolf blames Orpheus for their illness but if they die with the cure in Kristen’s hands, that is on her and her alone.

Marlena tells Sami that she understands that she’s there for her daughter Sydney and she’d be here if she could. Marlena adds that there is something Sami could do that would make her feel a lot better. Marlena says she could talk to her sister as she then hands the phone to Belle. Belle holds back tears and tells her that she and Eric will take care of Marlena for all of them. Belle says she loves her too and hangs up. John asks if that was not what Belle expected. Belle admits that Sami was very kind. John takes it that Eric was right that sometimes there’s no limits to God’s miracles.

Kate puts her makeup on and jokes that maybe now she can look presentable for her wedding. Rex encourages her and says he’s just glad to watch her marry the love of her life. Roman returns with Eric and flowers.

Kristen talks about the Orchid being so delicate and fragile. Dr. Rolf points out that she is holding the last of it’s kind and the last chance for Marlena, Kate, and Kayla to survive.

John tells Marlena that she can stop trying to be strong now as it’s just them and he can see how hard this is for her. Marlena acknowledges that she could never hide anything from him. Marlena admits she feels awful and that everything hurts. John decides he will be strong for both of them now. Sarah then enters with an orchid plant that was delivered for Marlena.

Eric officiates the wedding of Roman and Kate. Roman has flashbacks to his first relationship and wedding with Kate as he smiles and says “I definitely do”. Kate then has flashbacks to their current relationship and says “I do”. Rex then hands over the rings. Eric pronounces Roman and Kate as husband and wife and then they kiss.

John observes the orchid plant that was delivered and finds the note. Marlena questions who sent it. John says it’s nothing. Marlena reminds him that they promised to be honest and asks for the card, so he hands it over. Marlena reads the card saying it’s not the Orchid she’s looking for, but it’s beauty takes her breath away. Marlena reads that it won’t be long before her last breath and the orchid will die with her as the card was from Orpheus.

Brady goes to Kristen’s apartment and questions her wanting to see him. Kristen says they need to talk. Brady brings up the letter that Kristen put in Rachel’s lunchbox, saying that Chloe is the reason she can’t see her. Kristen claims not to know what he’s talking about. Brady declares that he doesn’t have time for games because Marlena is dying. Kristen responds that maybe that doesn’t have to happen which Brady questions. Kristen declares that maybe she can save Marlena, Kayla, and Kate too.
