Update written by Joseph

Talia walks through the town square with flowers and runs in to Belle. They greet each other and Belle asks about the flowers. Talia responds that they are for someone very special and she doesn’t know how she got this lucky..

Chanel’s phone lies nearby with a missed call from Talia as Chanel and Johnny kiss. Johnny talks about being taken by surprised and says he was determined to get her back after talking to EJ. Chanel jokes that he was heading for the door and she had to drag him back. Johnny admits he wasn’t sure how this was going to go and he misread her signals. Johnny talks about things being complicated for them which is why he thought she was telling him that she wanted to be with Talia. Chanel assures that it’s Johnny that she wants to be with as they continue kissing.

At the hospital, Jada questions Joyce about who hired her to kill Ava Vitali. Joyce swears that no one hired her and claims that she is a nurse and was there to treat Ava. Jada doesn’t believe her and warns that she can either go down for attempted murder or she can roll on whoever is paying her and maybe they can cut a deal but it’s her choice.

EJ talks to his contact at the hospital on the phone, questioning how long Jada has been in Joyce’s room. EJ tells him to make sure no one knows that he called him. EJ declares that it’s up to him now to shut her up.

Rafe and one of his cops go to the motel where Rafe explains that Harris was identified at the nearby pizza place from his photo and the desk clerk confirmed a man and woman in the room they approach. Rafe warns that Ava and Harris have both killed before, so he instructs him not to hesitate if he has to use deadly force. Rafe then kicks the door in and they enter with guns raised but find the room empty.

Tripp tells Wendy that he’s sorry they had to cut their night short. Wendy questions him apologizing when he just found out that someone tried to kill his mother. Tripp insists that he knows it was EJ and wonders where his mom is now. Tripp says he’s just going to drop his bag in his room and then go to the computer to see if there’s any news. Wendy says she will do the same and walks away. Tripp then heads in to this room and finds Ava and Harris inside.

Rafe and his cop search the room but find nothing. Rafe finds the pizza is still warm and remarks that it looks like Ava and Harris missed dinner and they missed them. Rafe finds their hospital ID bracelets and states that they cut them off and took off. Shawn then arrives so Rafe questions what he’s doing there.

Tripp hugs Ava and thanks God that she’s okay. Tripp asks her what happened. Ava explains that a nurse that she’s never seen came to inject her with something and she knows a hired gun when she sees one. Ava insists that EJ sent her. Wendy then comes in, shocked to see them. Tripp introduces Ava to Wendy and explains that Wendy was with him when they found out about them. Tripp adds that the police are hunting for them. Harris explains that they used the fire escape and the stairs to get in through the window. Tripp notes that they spoke to the police at the Salem Inn. Harris and Ava conclude that they should be safe for now.

Joyce claims to Jada that she doesn’t have a name to give her and that she’s never even held a gun. Jada brings up that Bayview has never heard of her and she’s not on the payroll. Joyce claims that she doesn’t work there as an agency sent her to cover for someone who was sick. Jada asks for the name of the agency. Joyce argues that Ava shot her and that her and Harris are in this together. Jada points out that they are on the run. Joyce argues that she has her all wrong and that she’s never seen Ava before in her life. Jada then brings up the burner phone they found on Joyce and reads the text message, asking if Ava is out of the picture yet. Jada then asks if Joyce is ready to talk.

Talia tells Belle that after all the bad stuff she did to Chanel, she feels so lucky to get a second chance. Belle says she’s happy for her. Talia says she’s been getting a lot of second chances lately and it all started when Belle became her lawyer. Talia talks about Marlena being great as her therapist and how Kayla got her a job at the hospital. Talia declares that now maybe her and Chanel have a future. Talia adds that she just called her about coming over but she hasn’t called back yet, so she’s trying to decide if she should wait or surprise her. Belle votes for surprise. Talia takes one of the roses and gives it to Belle to give to her husband. Talia thanks Belle for everything she’s done for her and walks on.

Rafe questions Shawn again what he’s doing here. Shawn says it’s a manhunt and he heard Rafe’s call for backup on the police scanner, so he figured he’d come see if he could help. Shawn asks about this being where Harris and Ava were holed up. Rafe informs him that the call for backup was for officers on duty and Shawn is off duty. Shawn argues that he’s here and they obviously came up empty, so he asks Rafe to give him an assignment. Rafe says he appreciates it but this is not a normal day for Shawn. Shawn remarks that nothing gets past him and questions what he’s supposed to do. Shawn complains that Victor is not coming back so he wants something to do. Rafe tells Shawn that it’s not a good idea because he’s drunk.

Johnny tells Chanel that he can’t believe he hasn’t been this happy in a long time. Chanel admits that she doesn’t know what she’s going to do about Talia because she really does like her, but it was never what they had. Johnny agrees that nothing has ever come close. Chanel says they are so lucky that this is happening now before things got serious with Talia. Chanel adds that she will have to let Talia down easy because she’s vulnerable right now. Talia then shows up at the door with roses.

Tripp assures Ava that she’s safe here for as long as she needs and anyone that comes to the door will have to go through him. Tripp asks how Harris figures in to this. Ava responds that if it wasn’t for Harris, she would be dead right now as he rushed the woman before she could get a shot off. Tripp recalls Harris showing up with an exploding pizza the last time he saw him. Wendy points out that the last time she saw him is when he showed up at Stefan and Gabi’s engagement party and tried to kill the groom. Harris states that he had been brainwashed and he’s just trying to move forward, so the only reason he’s here is to help Ava. Tripp asks if Ava really thinks going on the run is the smart idea. Ava then informs Tripp that EJ’s mother is alive.

Jada asks Joyce if the text message hit a nerve. Jada tells her to stop wasting her time and tell her who was behind the hit, then she will talk to the district attorney. Jada tells Joyce that all she has to do is tell her who ordered the hit on Ava Vitali. EJ then enters and instructs Joyce not to answer that question.

Shawn claims to Rafe that he’s not drunk. Rafe tells him that he can smell it on him. Shawn admits he had a couple drinks after the funeral but that won’t stop him from doing his job. Rafe orders Shawn to get out or he will take his badge and suspend him, warning that he’ll be out of a job. Shawn argues that he has a lot of nerve talking to him like that. Rafe reminds Shawn that he said he was going to get himself together. Rafe tells him to think about Belle and his daughter. Shawn agrees to go but Rafe points out that he’s in no shape to drive himself. Rafe then instructs the other officer to get Shawn home safely and says he has work to do.

Ava tells Tripp about her visions of Susan and how she was telling her that she wasn’t telling the truth about the accident. Ava says she didn’t understand until Harris had Marlena hypnotize her and she had a memory flash. Ava explains that she remembered before the crash, seeing Susan get out of the car and run away. Ava guesses she just blocked it out, but since remembering, she’s had more visions of Susan. Ava talks about Susan having strange psychic powers and appearing to her more than once. Ava thought it was a hallucination but now she’s convinced that it’s really Susan trying to reach out to her. Harris adds that they figured out from a reference Susan made that she might be in London. Ava says they need to go there to find Susan as it’s the only way to get EJ off her back. Tripp points out that she just escaped custody so he questions how she expects to get out of the country. Ava says that’s where Tripp comes in as he is her only hope.

Jada tells EJ that she was just having a little trouble convincing his friend to tell her who hired her to off Ava Vitali and suggests that he could help her with that. EJ asks if she’s implying that he’s her employer. Jada asks why else EJ would rush in to tell her to keep her mouth shut. EJ responds that he is her attorney.

Talia surprises Chanel with roses but then sees Johnny and says she didn’t mean to interrupt. Chanel says she’s not and that Johnny was just leaving. Johnny says he’ll see them around and exits. Talia excitedly tells Chanel about the flowers and guesses she missed her call, saying she wanted to come over because she just had to see her again because last night was so much fun. Talia suggests they could watch a movie or bake something together. Chanel stops her so Talia asks if something is wrong.

The cop escorts Shawn through the town square and says he was ordered to take Shawn home, but Shawn refuses to go and tells the cop to go away. Belle intervenes and tells the cop that she’s got this so he leaves. Belle tells Shawn that she didn’t know where he went and she tried calling him. Shawn explains that Harris and Ava escaped Bayview tonight and Rafe put out a call for backup, so he went to his location but Rafe told him to get lost. Belle questions Shawn wanting to work tonight like this. Shawn asks why everyone keeps saying that. Belle responds that it’s because he’s drunk.

Talia assumes Chanel already had plans and asks what it is. Chanel informs Talia that Johnny didn’t just stop by, he came to tell her that he still has feelings for her. Talia guesses it must not have been easy to let him down. Chanel reveals that she didn’t.

Shawn tells Belle that he’d like to just be able to have a couple drinks after a day like today without everybody freaking out. Belle argues that he knows why she and Rafe reacted this way since he’s been struggling and all the drinking isn’t helping anything but making it worse. Shawn tells Belle to try to understand what his life is like. Shawn complains about getting flashes of images of having a gun pointed at his dad and now he’s in a coma while his grandfather is dead. Belle gets that he blames himself but says that’s so wrong, sad, self destructive, and not true because he’s not to blame. Belle tells Shawn that if therapy isn’t working then maybe they should consider a residential facility. Shawn refuses and declares that he’s not an alcoholic. Belle wants him to be somewhere where he can work through this in a safe environment. Shawn questions if she’s saying he should be in a mental hospital. Belle cries that he needs more help than she can give him. Shawn argues that Belle can’t be honest with him.

Jada questions EJ being Joyce’s lawyer and says he has to be kidding. EJ says he’s a proud and active member of the BAR. Jada argues that he must be psychic because Joyce hasn’t been able to call a lawyer. EJ responds that he watches the news and he knows Joyce is a victim so he will stand by her in her time of need. EJ says the state chose to put Ava in a mental facility instead of prison after killing his mother and this shooting is the result of that. EJ says he doesn’t know why the police are harassing Joyce but promises to do everything in his power to get them off her back, if he has her trust.

Ava says they obviously need passports to get out of the country and can’t use their real names. Harris notes that he has contacts for that but it’s going to take awhile. Tripp agrees to be the person they deal with for that. Wendy asks what happens in the meantime. Ava says until they can get the passports, they need a place to hide out. Wendy calls that a problem since Li lives here too and he’s dating Melinda Trask. Harris agrees that’s a problem. Tripp adds that the cops will be asking questions so it’s not safe for them unless they can get the passports in the next couple of hours. Harris assures it will take longer than that. Wendy then declares that it won’t.

Jada asks Joyce if she’s going to take EJ’s generous offer. Joyce claims that she doesn’t know EJ but she’s in no position to be choosy so she asks EJ to get her out of this situation. EJ declares the interview is over and tells Jada to focus on Ava Vitali. Jada warns Joyce that she’s making a big mistake as she knows the holes in her story. Jada adds that the offer still stands in case EJ doesn’t have her best interests at heart. Jada then exits. Joyce tells EJ that Jada scares her. EJ says to leave Jada to him and assures that she did the right thing. EJ then asks Joyce to tell him why Ava Vitali is still breathing.

Wendy reveals that she can get the passports they need right here right now as she used to make fake IDs for underage teenagers. Harris points out that there’s a difference between drivers licenses and passports. Wendy responds that all she needs is an actual passport to doctor. Wendy and Tripp then reveal that they both have their passports. Tripp assures that if Wendy says she can do it, she can. Ava points out that they have no other options. Wendy asks them for names and settles on character names from her favorite movie. Wendy then takes pictures of Ava and Harris for their passports.

Talia guesses she walked in before Chanel could tell Johnny about them. Chanel says she did tell Johnny how she feels and she didn’t let him down. Talia starts to cry as Chanel explains that she wasn’t expecting any of this and she thought she and Johnny were just friends when she started seeing Talia. Talia guesses Chanel now wants to be more than friends with Johnny which she confirms. Chanel calls Talia a good person who has been through hell and still found a way to put her life back together. Talia tells her that she doesn’t have to give her a pep talk and that she should’ve known everything was going too well for her. Talia cries that it was too good to be true and she knows she doesn’t deserve Chanel. Chanel argues that she does deserve all the good things happening for her right now. Talia says just not Chanel. Chanel says she’s really sorry. Talia blames herself and remarks that she should’ve never told her how she felt as she storms out.

Belle asks Shawn when she lied to him. Shawn brings up Belle going to help Philip without even telling him that he was alive. Belle says that Chloe asked her to become Philip’s lawyer which meant she couldn’t tell anyone that he was back. Shawn complains that there are other lawyers but Philip wanted the one he slept with. Belle calls that ancient history. Shawn remarks that Belle cheats on him every time they have a problem and brings up the last person was EJ. Belle tells him not to do this. Shawn talks about how he’s supposed to get over Belle sleeping with EJ, just like putting Bo in a coma and his grandfather being dead. Belle asks if they can just go home but Shawn argues that she just said he should be a mental hospital. Shawn declares that he’s going somewhere where he won’t be judged for everything he does and feels as he storms off. Belle calls Shawn, leaving him a message to call her.

Talia goes to the Brady Pub and sits alone with a shot. Talia thinks back to her relationship with Chanel. Shawn enters and sees her drinking, so he asks to join her.

Johnny paces at the DiMera Mansion, telling himself that he knows what happened. Chanel then shows up at the door.

At the hospital, Jada tells Rafe about EJ showing up in Joyce’s room to say he’s her attorney. Rafe assumes she accepted which Jada confirms and that EJ told her to stop talking to her. Rafe questions when EJ ever did something nice for someone he didn’t know. Jada says they’ll get a warrant to check EJ’s phone to see if he sent the texts to the burner phone. Rafe says at least someone got somewhere tonight, since when he got to the motel, Ava and Harris were already gone. Jada states that they are going to be really hard to find as long as Ava still thinks she’s in danger from EJ. Rafe declares if they can’t find them, they’ll just have to track that bastard down themselves and he’s willing to work overtime on that.

Joyce informs EJ that Ava had help getting the gun from her as another patient got in the way. EJ acknowledges that other patient was Harris Michaels, a former Navy SEAL, so Joyce is lucky to be alive. EJ declares that if Ava thinks Harris will keep her safe from him, she’s in for a rude awakening.

Ava says this is not what she expected when they came here as Harris praises Wendy for the passports, calling them the best fakes he’s seen. Ava hates to say it but they should hit the road. Tripp points out the passports are great but they won’t help if EJ tracks them down. Tripp asks if they’re sure this is the right decision. Ava responds that she has to find Susan as everything changes once she does. Ava hugs Tripp and instructs him to tell the cops that he saw her but couldn’t stop her from leaving which is basically the truth. Tripp agrees to tell them that he has no idea where she is. Ava thanks Tripp and Wendy. Tripp tells Ava to come back safe. Ava assures that’s the plan and hugs him again. Ava and Tripp say I love you to each other. Ava thanks Wendy again. Wendy wishes her luck. Ava tells Harris that she’s ready as they then escape through the window.

Victoria: Hi, dad.

Victor: Hi, sweetheart.

Victoria: I would ask what brings you by, but I’m pretty sure I already know.

Victor: Oh, yeah? What would that be?

Victoria: You’re wondering how I feel about nicholas’s decision to not come back to newman enterprises.

Victor: And?

Victoria: Well, I can’t say that I’m surprised thanks to his distrust of nate, which is ironic as hell since he agreed to work alongside adam, and who is more untrustworthy than adam?

Victor: Mm-hmm. I think, um… adam has learned his lesson.

Victoria: Oh, really? What pathetic show has he put on for you this time? Did he tell you about his troubled youth? His parental neglect? Did he tell you that he’s a new man now, he’s turned over a new leaf, he wants to prove himself to you?

[ Victoria sighs ] Dad, please tell me you’re not getting pulled in by adam again. It makes me so sad to see him keep hurting you.

Victor: I believe him. And I think once nicholas calms down, he will return.

Victoria: Well, I’m really sorry, but that’s not a chance that I’m willing to take. I think we need to move forward based on what nicholas has said, not what he might do. Which is why I am lobbying to promote nate immediately as co-ceo.

Nate: Scotch neat, please.

Audra: Well, you’re all sunshine and rainbows today.

Nate: Aren’t I always?

Audra: Mm. Of course. Except when you’re brooding over a drink.

Nate: Never brooding. Thank you.

Audra: Planning your next move? So, what’s going on?

Nate: Well, for starters, nick’s not coming back to newman enterprises. And nikki is still taking over newman media.

Audra: Tell me about it. I’m working under a woman who wouldn’t trust me to watch her purse for five seconds. It’s just, um, it’s a dream come true.

Nate: Yeah, we both have a lot of work to do if we’re gonna turn nikki newman around about us. But it will be more than worth it.

Audra: Yeah, we can only hope. So, why are you in such a good mood? It can’t just be because you no longer have to report to your girlfriend’s brother. Oh, wait a minute. I get it. Nick’s no longer coming back to newman enterprises. Nikki is still taking over newman media, which means… the second-in-command position at newman enterprises is vacant. Did victoria offer it to you?

Nate: Not yet.

Audra: Huh. But it’s so close, you can taste it.

Nate: It’s the logical move.

Audra: But you don’t really think it’s gonna be that easy, do you?

Esther: Sharon tells me that her new venture with you and nick imploded, and so she’s moving forward on her own, which leaves you out in the cold again.

Adam: I can tell you were just sick about it.

Esther: What do you expect?

Adam: You know, maybe someday, you could remind me what I’ve done to make you despise me.

Esther: What, are you kidding me? One word. Chloe.

Adam: Look, I have done everything in my power to make sure that your daughter might have a change of heart about me.

Esther: Well, she doesn’t hate you anymore and you can thank your lucky stars for that, but she doesn’t trust you either.

Adam: Yeah, she’s in a lot of company there.

Esther: You know, I believe in change and second chances. I mean, we all deserve that much. But you have had all the second chances in the world and you have wasted every single one of them. It’s a crime. You could do so much better, but you don’T. No wonder no one thinks you’ll ever change.

Nikki: I’ll second that. Believe it or not, I’m glad I ran into you. May I have a word in private?

Announcer: Additional sponsorship provided by…

Tucker: Your mother is fine, abby. She’s in paris thinking some things through. And I did nothing to upset her or hurt her, okay? So, nice seeing you.

[ Abby scoffs ]

Abby: No. No. I am not going anywhere until I get some answers. Some answers I actually believe. What did my mom have to stay in paris to think about? I mean, it was your honeymoon for god’s sake.

Tucker: She is reconsidering starting a new venture with me.

Abby: Why?

Tucker: You’ll have to ask her.

Abby: Just like that?

Tucker: Yeah, just like that.

Abby: So, you did nothing to initiate this change of heart? I mean, this decision just came out of nowhere? No. No, I am not buying it. You must have done something. Something to upset her, something to push her away.

Tucker: Of course I did because I’m just so diabolical, aren’t I? I just have no shred of human decency. Can’t even keep promises, can I? For your information, I did everything right this time, abby, everything. But your mother is incapable of seeing that I have changed. And what neither she nor you seem to understand is I have my limits too.

Audra: I fully understand you think you have victoria’s support on lock, okay? But let’s not forget you already have two strikes against you that could prevent you from becoming newman enterprises’ co-ceo.

Nate: How can I forget with you here to remind me?

Audra: Strike one. Victor is so conscious about trusting you.

Nate: And strike two?

Audra: Nikki flat-out hates you.

Nate: Okay, you’re giving me too much credit there. Nikki wouldn’t waste that level of emotion on me. She wouldn’t trust anyone with victoria. Not after locke. But I’ve made great strides in convincing her of my sincerity and my value to the company. As for victor, he asked for my opinion about the mccall-kirsten merger and he followed my advice after we talked about it.

Audra: Hm. So, in other words, um, they’re still testing you. Nate, just face it. Victoria is not going to defy her parents if they oppose promoting you. And even if she does, my money would be on her losing that battle.

Nate: I think you’re underestimating victoria’s power over her parents.

Audra: Oh, really? Was she able to stop victor from handing mccall unlimited to adam?

Nate: Victor’s relationship with adam is a separate issue. That’s bulletproof.

Audra: Keep telling yourself that.

Nate: Audra, what is going on with you? We’ve both been pulling for each other’s success from the minute that we met. Now, you’re dumping all this negativity on me.

Audra: It’s not negativity. Look, I’ve been shot down enough times to know that things never work out the way you think they will. Okay, so word of advice, don’t ever think you’re invincible. Always have a backup plan. Because no matter how hard you try, no matter how smart and dedicated you are, you will never be a newman. Which means you will never be in the inner inner circle, so you should just do yourself a favor and stop pretending that it will happen.

Adam: So, I assume that you spoke to victor?

Nikki: Of course, I did. Victor and I talk about pretty much everything, so yes, I heard about your mea culpa performance. How you wanted to hit the reset button and start all over again.

Adam: Nikki, what if it isn’t a performance?

Nikki: What if pigs fly? Victor is understandably skeptical. When it comes to you, there is a part of him that desperately wants to believe you are sincere.

Adam: And as always, you don’T.

Nikki: No, not for a second. I see this as a hollow attempt to change, but you and i both know that that will fail miserably, or you’re trying to tear this family apart yet again.

Adam: Nikki, why would I want to do that?

Nikki: Because that’s what you do. You can’t accept that victor cares about you, so you screw him over to prove that you don’t need him. Whichever it is, back the hell off. Stop this before it starts. ‘Cause I am telling you, if you try to hurt your father again, I will make it my mission to destroy your life and every connection to people you care about.

Victor: I don’t think nate hastings… is ready for a promotion of that magnitude.

Victoria: And I think that you’re wrong, daddy. I work very closely with nate, as you well know, and I’ve seen firsthand the value that he adds to newman enterprises, day after day after day.

Victor: No, you’re right. And that is the reason he already has a position of great power.

Victoria: Yes. And now there is a vacancy for an even more powerful position, available immediately. A position that I have every faith that he is more than qualified to fill.

Victor: And I have decided who’s gonna fill that chair. It ain’t gonna be nate hastings.

Dehydrated hair? For

Summer: Hi, you two!

Chance: Oh, my gosh, hey! Welcome back from milan. How’d it go?

Summer: It was great. It was a success on all fronts, both, uh, personally and professionally.

Chance: Yeah.

Summer: I– I’m feeling a lot stronger. Like a– like a whole new woman.

[ Chance chuckles ]

Sharon: Well, that’s great to hear, summer. Good for you.

Chance: Yeah. Yeah, you seem a lot better. I got to admit, I was, uh, worried.

Summer: Frankly, I was, uh, a little worried about me too. But you– you helped me through one of the roughest times of my life. I mean, you were really there for me as a friend and I really needed one. You know, we got off to kind of a rocky start.

Chance: Yeah, well, uh, arresting your mother for murder did make it a bit awkward.

Summer: Yeah, but believe me, I know where the blame for that lies and it’s not with you.

Sharon: You were in a terrible position, summer, but you came out on the other side.

Summer: Wasn’t pretty as i was going through it though. But actually, thanks to one of our conversations, I ended up on a roller coaster, screaming my lungs out and it was kind of amazing how cathartic that was. So, thanks for that too.

Chance: Well, I’m glad I could be of service, ma’am.

Abby: Tucker. Tucker, no, no, no, no, no. You don’t get to just blow me off by telling me you don’t have anything to do with whatever happened to my mom. I want information, and I’m gonna get it.

Tucker: You do what you need to do.

Abby: You know, considering your history with my mother, can you blame me for assuming that you’re behind whatever this blow up is?

Tucker: You know what I assumed? I assumed your mother could extricate herself from this– this abbott clan of yours and start a life with me. Look where it’s got me. Back here. Alone, humiliated and heartbroken.

[ Abby sighs ] None of which I have been known to handle gracefully.

Abby: Meaning?

Tucker: Meaning you stay the hell away from me and you tell the rest of the abbotts to do the same. You got it?

Adam: Nikki, in case I have never told you this, I have nothing but admiration for your fierce determination to protect your husband and the rest of the family. And look, I get it. I’ve certainly earned your negative opinion of me.

Nikki: Oh, you think?

[ Adam sighs ]

Adam: Look, I– I know that there’s nothing that I can say that’s gonna make you believe, uh, the words that I said to victor about this seismic change, but if you would just give me a chance, I will prove you wrong.

Nikki: No, no, no, no, no. You are not understanding me. I am done giving you chances. So, unless you walk away from your father and the family and any hope of returning to newman, I will make sure that all hell will rain down on you. No grace period, no chances it’s over. You have 24 hours to drop whatever scheme you’re plotting against victor or I swear to you, you will regret it for the rest of your miserable life.

Victoria: Please tell me that you’re not suggesting what I think you’re suggesting.

Victor: What do you think I’m suggesting?

Victoria: If you’re planning to instate adam as my co-ceo, you can count on the fact that I’m gonna walk right out that door with nicholas. You’ve busted him for the billionth time for what? A– another blackmail scheme? Again, his arrogance?

Victor: Will you calm down?

Victoria: No, I will not calm down.

Victor: Will you calm down? I do have plans for adam. They’re not what you think they are.

Victoria: Well, I’m afraid to even ask what they might be. He will start at the bottom. Work himself up the way you did.

Victoria: Dad, please. This is all just a ploy and I’m not buying it, I’m sorry.

Victor: You finished?

Victoria: No, I’m not. I– I’m not, I have another question. So, what is your big plan for my newly rehabilitated brother? If you’re not gonna hand him the co-ceo position of newman enterprises, who are you handing it to, dad?

Victor: You. Around here, we like to keep things simple and honest.

Victoria: You want me to be the co-ceo of newman?

Victor: Mm-hmm. I’ll take over the reins, you’ll be my co-ceo and nate hastings will be answering to you.

Victoria: You’re demoting me?

Victor: I’m just taking over the reins of the company again, okay?

[ Victoria scoffs ]

Victoria: But my work has been exemplary. My reliability goes without saying. I’m trustworthy to a fault.

Victor: True.

Victoria: What are you doing this for then? W– why? Just to– to prove that you can? Oh, what is it, daddy? Are you bored with your semi-retirement? You feel like you need to find another sense of purpose? But do you really think it’s a good idea to just rip the rug out from underneath me? Really?

[ Victoria scoffs ] How did I not see this coming?

[ Victoria chuckles ] Oh, my god, this is exactly the kind of unpredictable earth-shifting move that you always make. You always do this. And you know, it’s no wonder that nicholas keeps walking away because he’s learned the hard way that dedication to this company, it means nothing, absolutely nothing, unless your name is victor or adam newman.

Victor: You will still have power. You make the day-to-day decisions. But I… will retake the reins of this company that I built because I’ve noticed lately that things around here seem disjointed. So, I will take over. Is that clear?

Victoria: Well, let me tell you, this hardly feels like unity. You’re either pushing or driving everyone away!

Victor: I don’t give a damn what do you think!

Nikki: What– what’s happened now?

Audra: Is that your third or second? I think nate’s an alcoholic. I think half of genoa city is.

[ Laughs ]

Tucker: Is that seat taken?

Audra: Um, no.

Tucker: Oh, you guys are so inseparable lately. It’s beginning to get a little creepy.

Audra: Um, it’s called friendship, tucker. You should try it sometime.

Tucker: Friendship?

Audra: Yeah.

Tucker: Thank you. From what I’m told, friendship requires trust. Trust is a dangerous thing, let me tell you, ’cause it will disappoint you. It will betray you. [ Scoffs ] So, I would advise you strongly not to trust each other.

Nate: What happened to you? A week ago, you were on top of the world. Don’t tell me you managed to blow it up already.

Tucker: I haven’t blown up anything, nate. Not yet.

[ Mariah sighs ]

Devon: Hey. There you go.

Mariah: Thank you so much.

Devon: You’re welcome.

Mariah: You are a lifesaver.

Devon: I take it you had a rough night with aria?

Mariah: Uh, it’s more like aria had a rough night with me. As much as I am trying to be strong and stay calm, I don’t know. I think she’s picking up on my anxiety or something.

Devon: Mariah.

Mariah: And I– I really, really appreciate you and abby offering to let me come stay while tessa is away. I– I want you to know that. I just– I do wonder if I made a mistake saying yes.

Devon: No, no, you didn’t make a mistake at all. Just tell us whatever you need to make you and the baby feel comfortable and we’ll get it for you.

Mariah: And you guys have. You guys have. It’s– it’s not about– it’s not about making me comfortable. It’s just– I don’t really know what I was thinking, you know, taking aria away from everything. Her room and with tessa being gone, I just– I disrupted her life so much, and– and I just– I don’t know how I could have done that because I love her so much.

Devon: Of course, you do. Of course, you do. You think she doesn’t know you love her? You think she can’t feel that every second of every day? You wanna know what I really think?

Mariah: I do. Yes, please.

Devon: I think that you’re just feeling overwhelmed and you’re scared and you’re imagining the worst possible things at every turn, which I get, ’cause we all do that from time to time, but you have to remember that wherever you are, that’s home for aria. Because when she’s with you, no matter where you are, she’s safe, she’s loved, and she’s being taken care of and that means she’s a very, very lucky little girl.

[ Door slams shut ] Hey.

Abby: Hey.

[ Abby sighs ]

Esther: Oh, looks like nikki gave you an earful.

Adam: Well, you know, nikki is never shy about holding back her feelings, but yes, she did rip into me and you know what? I deserved every bit of it. Which makes me even more determined to stay on the new path.

Esther: Oh, does that new path send you right out of town? ‘Cause they might just throw you a parade, hm. When it comes to your hair, ingredients matter.

Announcer: The young and the restless will continue. What can you do with sensitive skin?

Sharon: So, that leaves nick and me in charge of kirsten incorporated.

Summer: Yeah, my dad, uh, mentioned that before he headed to the east coast. He– he was saying that you’re both glad that you’re not gonna have to work with adam or deal with my grandpa’s interference anymore.

Sharon: I’d say that’s accurate on both counts.

Summer: Well, I– I’m really happy for both of you. I mean, how great is it that you’re gonna be working together again after all these years?

Sharon: I know, right? Who would’ve thought?

Summer: So, does my mom still have a place in this business or…

Sharon: Um, well, nick and i still have to discuss–

Chance: Ladies, I’m sorry to interrupt, but I have to run. I have a meeting to potentially discuss becoming the next chief of police.

Summer: What? Chance, that’s fantastic.

Sharon: I’m sure that rey is cheering you on up there right now.

Chance: Yeah, yeah, he’s definitely pulling some strings for me too. Bad news is, things might happen kind of quickly, so I got to pass on the invitation on west, but rain check, all right?

Sharon: That’s a promise.

Summer: So, my dad’s, um, covering the east coast and you’re covering the west coast?

Sharon: Yeah, that’s our plan.

Summer: Well, I, uh, wish you a very successful trip. And, um, break a leg. [ Laughs ]

[ Chance laughing ]

Abby: Mariah, you know, devon and I had the same concerns when chance and I split up and dominic was going back and forth between here and the penthouse, so I totally understand how you feel.

Devon: Yeah, and we definitely would not be offended if you wanted to take aria back home.

Abby: Yeah, but at least, just give it some thought, because we really do want you and the baby to be around people who love and support you.

Mariah: Well, thank you, I– I will definitely think about it, you know, if and when I can get my head to clear up. So, um– but no, I–

[ Baby monitor beeping ]

Devon: Oh-oh.

Mariah: And you know what, that would be my cue. So, to be continued.

[ Laughing ] Sorry, guys.

Devon: Go for it. It’s all right.

[ Abby sighs ] Okay, talk to me. You came in here like your hair was on fire. What’s going on?

Abby: It’s tucker. I know that he has done something to my mom and all he says is– is that it’s her fault.

Devon: What are you talking about, what happened with them?

Abby: I don’t know. I don’t know, but all I do know is that whatever happened between the two of them is tucker’s fault, and not my mom’S.

Devon: And that’s all he said, he just left it at that?

Abby: Well, one more thing, I mean, he said that the abbotts and I need to stay far away from him from now on.

Audra: Look, as we both know all too well, you don’t always make the best decisions when you’re upset. So, why don’t you go somewhere and meditate, okay? Just reflect for a bit and then, you’ll recognize that this is a sign from the universe telling you it has other plans for you.

[ Phone chiming ]

Nate: Excuse me. Something just came up I have to take care of.

Audra: Okay.

Tucker: I would say you used to know me. Not as much as you assumed, but to a degree, you did. Doesn’t seem like that’s the case anymore though, does it? And you’re in way over your head with him.

Audra: Things really went south with ashley for some reason, didn’t they? Look, I think I know where you’re going with this. Look, and if I’m right, I have to tell you, it’s a bad idea.

Nate: Hey. You’re upset. What happened?

Victoria: My father just demoted me.

Nate: He what?

Victoria: Yeah, yeah. He’s coming back and he’s taking charge, but I do get to be his co-ceo. Isn’t that kind of him?

Nate: Does nikki know about this? I mean, she would never approve. Is this a done deal?

Victoria: It certainly does seem that way. My father feels that without his guiding hand, the company has become weak and it’s become disjointed.

Nate: [ Sighs ] Okay, um, so, what are you gonna do about it?

Victoria: I have no idea what I’m gonna do. I cannot make a decision on something this huge when I’m so angry.

Nate: Good idea. Do nothing until you’ve had a chance to calm down.

[ Victoria sighs ] My active psoriatic arthritis

Victor: Let’s just say she didn’t take it too well.

Nikki: Well, can you blame her? When did you decide to come back to run newman anyway? Why didn’t you tell me?

Victor: I didn’t tell you because I didn’t want you to try to talk me out of it, okay? Besides that, I didn’t want you to tell victoria before I had a chance to do it.

Nikki: You know, I wouldn’t have, if you had asked me.

Victor: Yes, you would have. Had you thought I’d made a wrong move, you would have talked to me about it.

Nikki: Well, I do think you made the wrong move. I mean, not only will victoria feel undermined, but I worry about the stress of you working at newman again, what it’s gonna do to your health?

Victor: Sweetheart, has it ever occurred to you that the stress of not working at newman, of not running this company makes me unhappy? Yes, son? What can I do for you?

Adam: I would like an opportunity to clear up a misunderstanding on nikki’s part.

Sharon: Well, now, if you two, well, excuse me, I have got to get to the airport.

Chance: Yeah. You sure do. I got time to take you before my meeting.

Sharon: Oh, you don’t have to do that.

Chance: I know, but I want to.

Sharon: Okay, well, I wouldn’t want to deprive you. Thank you.

Chance: Good to see you.

Summer: Oh, good to see you.

Sharon: Bye, summer.

Summer: Bye.

Audra: Where do I get the feeling you’re planning on getting back at the abbotts by going after jabot on your own?

Tucker: What difference would that make to you? You couldn’t care less about jabot.

Audra: Right, I’m not worried about jabot. I’m worried about you. Again, as difficult as you make it sometimes, tucker, I do still consider you a friend, okay? And whether you want to accept it or not, I think you really need one right now. You know, to keep you from being your own worst enemy.

Tucker: Thanks.

[ Audra sighs ] My heart failure diagnosis changed my priorities.

[ Sharon laughing ]

Chance: After you.

Summer: Thanks.

Chance: What?

Summer: I don’t know. For not, uh, running in the other direction when you’re faced with my stormy mood.

Chance: Well, I’ve been there, I get it. So, if I can ever help ease the moment, I’m happy to do it.

Summer: So, this really was all friend to friend, right? Not friend to cop?

Chance: Friend to friend. Hey, summer. Rooting for you.

[ Summer sighs ]

[ Knocking on door ]

Tucker: Hi.

Audra: Hey.

Victor: So, son, what misunderstanding of nikki’s are you here to clear up?

Adam: It seems she doesn’t believe that I’m trying to change. That instead of me trying to hit the reset button on my life, that it is a new angle to pull another power play, and she told me to back off. But you know what, I’m glad that you both are together, so you can at least hear what I have to say. While nikki, you have every reason to doubt me. I– I’m not intimidated by you. So, let’s just get it straight. I’m not gonna back down. I’m here to show you what I can do and just how cooperatively I can fall in line, and most of all, to prove to you how wrong you are about me. And dad, I’m here to serve you. So, whatever it is you want, you just say the word and consider it done.

[ Nate sighs]

Nate: Feeling better?

Victoria: [ Sighs ] Yes. You are a miracle worker.

[ Nate laughs ] I’m thinking clearly now. I know exactly what I’m gonna do.

Nate: Oh. Care to enlighten me?

Victoria: I’m gonna fight my father on this. I’m gonna– I’m gonna find a way to prove that he is not up to the challenge of running newman again. I’ll be damned if I’m gonna let him take this away from me.

[ Relaxing music ]

Ridge: Dad said that? He’s, uh, he’s coming after me? I don’t– I don’t know what that means.

Brooke: He told me to put you on notice.

Ridge: Put me on notice. Okay. I don’t know what that means either, but it’s vague, right? But what is– I don’t– I don’t get it.

Brooke: I went over there to talk to Donna about Eric, and RJ was there, found out that he’s designing with Eric.

Ridge: And that’s amazing. How cool is that? He’s finally starting. This is all– all I ever wanted for him. But what’s the other thing you said about Dad and his grand finale collection? What is that?

Brooke: Eric is determined to do this collection alone or at least without you. Seems like he’s in some kind of competition with you.

Eric: See this? This drape here, right along the ground.

RJ: Mm-hmm

Eric: You got that exactly right. Right at the floor.

RJ: Okay.

Eric: Perfect. It’s exactly what we talked about. Nice. And you’ve said you’ve never designed before. I’ve seen your drawings when you were a little kid.

RJ: Granddad, come on. That was just for fun. They’re hardly the couture visions that you dream up.

Eric: Yeah, it’s a– it’s a real curse.

Donna: Oh, please. We should all be so talented. I’m just happy to see you so alive and vital.

Eric: I should’ve helped you with that. I should help you with it.

Donna: No, no. [ Grunts ] I got it.

RJ: You got it?

Donna: I got it. Okay. All right. Uh, Luna, the new intern, um, she’s gonna be over soon with the rest of the supplies you wanted, and, um, I trust her to be discreet. Although, we don’t really have to be now since, uh, Brooke came over unannounced earlier. The secret’s kind of ruined.

Eric: Yeah, she kind of spoiled that, didn’t she? It’ll be all right. It’ll be all right.

Donna: You know, actually, maybe it is for the best and then, you could invite Ridge to join you on this line, right? Like you’ve done for years. Three generations of Forresters working on a single line.

Eric: Now, you know what? That’s a really nice sound bite, but it’s not gonna happen. Ridge considers me obsolete, and I don’t want any of that negative energy anywhere near this line. That’s why I’ve decided to do it without him. Instead, I’m doing it with my talented and loyal grandson.

Donna: How are they feeling? The tremors are getting worse?

[ Knocking on door ]

Donna: Oh, Luna, is that you?

Luna: Hey, Donna.

Donna: Thank you for coming. Come this way. Come.

Eric: Oh, nobody saw her leaving Forrester.

Donna: Over here. I’ll put it right on the– hello! Be careful. Be careful. Right here. Uh, Luna, this is Eric Forrester.

Eric: Hello, Luna. It’s, uh, nice to meet you.

Donna: And Eric’s grandson.

Luna: Hi. I’m Luna.

RJ: Hi. I’m RJ.

Brooke: I’m as confused as you are. Ridge?

Ridge: I don’t know. Dad hasn’t been himself lately. And I think it all started with this story about the stapler I threw out because it was old and it was broken. I think he took that metaphor and thought I was talking about him. It couldn’t be further from the truth.

Brooke: Of course not. But I think you’re right. I think he feels like we all think he’s replaceable.

Ridge: And because of that, now he needs to create his own collection by himself?

Brooke: With our son’s help.

Luna: Yeah, of course.

RJ: Hey, um, thank you so much for the delivery, Luna.

Luna: Yeah, of course. And it’s such an honor to meet fashion royalty.

RJ: Imagine being his grandson.

Luna: I, um, I brought all those supplies.

Donna: Thank you. I knew we could count on you, Luna.

Luna: Oh, wow. Uh, your home is– I have never set foot into a more beautiful home, Mr. Forrester.

Eric: Yeah, thank you. And– and call me Eric, okay? Will you, please? And I appreciate you bringing all this stuff. I really do. So, um, you’re our newest intern, right? How long have you been out of fashion school?

Luna: Uh, still finishing up actually.

Eric: The internship program is pretty competitive. And what is it that, uh, set you apart from the others? What do you think?

[ Luna chuckles nervously ]

Donna: Um… okay. Uh, well, I– she was waiting to interview while I was answering phones and I got swamped. Luna offered to help and pitched right in. And– and– and then– then, we had a really nice talk and, uh, I told Cindy down at HR to hire her.

Eric: Mm-hmm. Did you even look at her résumé?

Donna: Uh…

[ Luna chuckles nervously ]

Donna: What can I say? Um… well, she’s– she’s sweet, capable, a good person. When I looked into her eyes, I knew we could trust her.

RJ: Oh, I see the same thing.

Ridge: So, how’s he doing? RJ? Is he– and how is– how’s he doing?

Brooke: Well, we didn’t really get a chance to talk, but he seemed happy.

Ridge: I didn’t mean that. I meant, like, how, you know. How– how’s he doing?

Brooke: You mean his skill? Are you searching for a critique?

Ridge: I’m not searching for anything. I just, I– I’ve– I’ve wanted this for him for so long that I just wanna make sure that I wasn’t wrong about him.

Brooke: Hm. Well, I can tell you this. I walked into that Forrester mansion like I’ve done a thousand times before and I saw him working with Eric, and it reminded me of you and Eric all those years ago, and there was no doubt in my mind that I was staring at Ridge Forrester, Junior.

Ridge: This is what I wanted, right? For so long, I wanted this. I didn’t even know… our son is designing. I just– when he first came back talking about social media and numbers and–

Brooke: I know you didn’t support that.

Ridge: I’m not– it’s not that I didn’t support it. I just didn’t get it. I st– I still don’t get it. I don’t. But designing? I– I understand it and I think he has more talent than any of us. Don’t tell Thomas I said that.

[ Brooke laughing ]

Brooke: You’re such a proud papa. I know you’re happy that both of your boys are following you in your footsteps.

Ridge: The way I followed my dad.

Brooke: Yeah.

Ridge: I am. I’m very happy.

[ Brooke chuckles ]

Brooke: Oh… but I’m sure your head is spinning at the same time because you may be happy that RJ is now designing with your father, but your father is now making a new collection without you.

Luna: This is pretty surreal. I mean, I just started interning at Forrester creations and now I’m at the Forrester estate making personal deliveries for the Eric Forrester. And I’ve been following you online for years.

RJ: Really? Me?

Luna: Yeah, your posts slay.

[ RJ laughs ]

RJ: Thank you.

Luna: Yeah. And your trip to Egypt, were those sunsets like–

RJ: No filters. It’s just stunning there. Seriously. It’s surreal.

Luna: And now you design, too?

RJ: Yeah. Well, you know, someone’s getting me into it, so…

Luna: Oh, well, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to interrupt your creative process here. Oh, wow. That is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. I can only imagine what it would be like to wear something this gorgeous.

Eric: Well, hopefully one day soon, you’ll get the chance. RJ, I want you to take a look at this. Come here. The way this is draping is not what I had in mind. I like it, but, uh… ow, I…

[ Phone chiming ]

Donna: You need to get that?

Luna: I– oh.

Donna: You– you can just take it over there.

Luna: Yeah.

RJ: I mean, we can’t put–

Luna: Hold on.

RJ: …Tennis shoes on her. She has to be in heels.

[ RJ talks indistinctly ]

Luna: I can’t talk. I’m at work.

Woman: In Los Angeles?

Luna: Yes.

Woman: I don’t know what you’re doing.

Luna: Don’t worry about me, okay?

Woman: Just stay away from the Forresters.

Luna: I gotta go.

Woman: Listen to me, Luna. You stay away from the Forresters.

Ridge: Oh, classic Eric Forrester.

Brooke: What do you mean?

Ridge: What do I mean? He gets an idea for something, then he won’t let it go. This whole collection he wants to do? I thought he was gonna maybe forget about it.

Brooke: Certainly seems like he has something to prove.

Ridge: Certainly seems that way. All my life, it’s been like that. All my life. He gets an idea, and then he just, he’s gonna do it. Somebody pushes back, he just keeps pushing harder. And part of me thinks RJ is gonna enjoy it. It’s gonna be good for him to learn some of that, but… it’s not good for Dad. It’s taxing on him.

Brooke: So, are you okay with this?

Ridge: I don’t know. Okay with what? I don’t even know what they’re doing. They’re doing things in secrecy. RJ’s not telling me. They’re doing stuff in– in the– in the living room. I have no idea what they’re doing. They’re creating something. That makes me happy, but… I don’t know if I’m okay with it. But RJ, he’s designing. Maybe not the way I wanted him to, but–

Brooke: But, he is still designing.

Ridge: Yeah! And Forrester’s okay. What, we’re doing okay here. Tell me I’m wrong.

Brooke: Hope For The Future is killing it. And of course, the couture line is as sophisticated and elegant as ever. And the money keeps rolling in from the men’s line, the bedroom line.

Ridge: You know why? Because we have a plan. There’s a plan and that plan doesn’t include my dad doing another line out of nowhere. I want him to be happy. I want him to do whatever he wants to do, but I don’t want him to get sick because of it. Steffy’s gone. How do we do all this?

Brooke: I know. I agree.

Ridge: Wants me to be on my game. He’s coming after me, huh?

Brooke: Yep.

Brooke: Okay. What’s going on in that head of yours, huh?

Ridge: Nothing.

Brooke: Don’t say nothing. I know you. What is it?

Ridge: You know how much I love my dad, how much I respect him. He taught me everything I know. I would be sitting on his lap, and he’d give me a pencil and we’d start designing together. He allowed me to hide under his desk during business meetings. I had a front seat for everything. I’m so grateful. Everything he’s instilled in me.

Brooke: He did build the legacy of Forrester Creations.

Ridge: He did, and I was part of that too. I think, right? I mean, we created some great collections together. But then he wanted to take a break. He wanted me to take over and I did and he passed the baton and that’s good. He hasn’t really worked that much over the past few years, right?

Brooke: He shouldn’t have to.

Ridge: No, he shouldn’t have to. He should relax, take a break. Also, shouldn’t look like I’m trying to push him out because I want complete control. That’s– although complete control sounds kind of good, huh?

Brooke: Now you’re being bad.

Ridge: I know.

[ Brooke chuckles ]

Ridge: Do I think he has another collection in him? Absolutely. The guy never stops designing. That’s all he does. In his head. Do I think it’s good for him? I don’t. He’s telling me to be on my game. I’m not on my game. I’m playing in a whole ‘nother league now. You know why? Because of you. You inspire me. I don’t know what it is, but look. I– I– every– everything I touch, it’s– this is no eraser at all. This is one time, done.

Brooke: Wow.

Ridge: Because of you. You’re doing that. So, I don’t know what they’re doing in their living room. I don’t care. But maybe he needs to step up his game.

[Indistinct conversation]

Eric: I like this. With this– this– this– flows into the pocket, it’s…

[Indistinct conversation]

Donna: I am the same way. It’s always so impressive and inspiring, really, to see great artists at work like this.

Luna: Mm-hmm.

Donna: This line that he is doing, it’s gonna be the most epic achievement of his entire career. I can feel it.

RJ: Like that arm–

Eric: Exactly.

RJ: That’d be great.

Eric: That’s good. That’s exactly right. That’s what I wanted to do. Perfect.

RJ: Okay.

[ RJ laughs ] Hey, um, is she, uh– is she still watching me over there?

Eric: Yeah. Mm-hmm.

RJ: Bet. That– that’s great, ’cause, you know, I’ve never sketched for a couture before, let alone for an audience, so…

Eric: So, this makes you nervous? I mean, you can you bungee off an abandoned bridge, but this makes you nervous? Yeah?

RJ: Yeah.

Donna: Uh, Luna, why don’t we, um, organize the samples over here?

Luna: Okay.

Donna: Yeah? Right this way. Oh, by color scheme.

RJ: Thank you.

[ Eric chuckles ]

Eric: I don’t want you to feel uncomfortable at all in any of this stuff. Designing with me or feeling uncomfortable about being stuck between… between your parents and me.

RJ: No. I don’t. I– really, I don’t, okay? I meant it when I said that I believe in you and I believe in this collection, okay?

Eric: That means a lot to me. You have no idea. I mean, I have the experience, but– but you… you have the technique and– and the expertise to bring it to life. I can’t tell you how much it means to me to be the founder of this company and to have my, well, my son and now, my grandson following in my footsteps. You’re this fine young man. And I tell you what. And the– the tone in your voice and the– the time you spend with me, you’re the anointed one, you know?

[ RJ laughs ]

RJ: The anointed one?

Eric: Yes, the anointed one. Yes. The only child of Ridge and Brooke. A lot comes with that. Observe this. Follow me, learn from me.

RJ: I’ll learn from you.

Eric: Yeah. You’ve brought so much to me. You bring… more energy and– and more focus than I’ve had in my life for a very long time. And I’m gonna use that. I’m gonna use that to bring this– this new collection. This solo collection of Eric Forrester originals to life. And I can’t imagine a better team than us to do it together.

RJ: Come here.

Eric: Yeah. Yeah.

Adam: Father.

Victor: Hi, son.

Adam: To what do I owe the pleasure? Let me guess. You’re here to take a victory lap after exiling me from newman media. Well, go ahead, dad. I probably deserve it.

Victor: That is not why I’m here.

Adam: Then you’ve had a change of heart and you’re here to apologize to me?
Victor: I’m not here to apologize, nor am I here to gloat. I’m here as your father to see how you’re doing.

***********************

Adam: I don’t know. Where we go from here is anyone’s guess. Water?

Victor: Thank you, son.

Adam: I, uh, I already made amends to Nick and Sharon and I know that my life probably needs a complete reset before I self-destruct. Probably sooner rather than later.

Victor: Be more specific.

Adam: Always a stickler for the details, huh?

Victor: Son, the devil lies in the details.

Daniel: Hey. Good morning.

Heather: What’s left of it.

Daniel: What are you talking about? I mean, I’ll have you know, that I already put in hours at the office and I’m only here because I was meeting Lucy to have breakfast, who you just missed.

Heather: I know how hard you’ve been working, I– I– I– I didn’t meant to–

Daniel: Didn’t mean to what? Joke with me? You can joke with me. It’s okay.

Heather: Okay, thanks. You know, it’s just, I know what it has taken to get to this good place for you and– and I guess I just– I really want to make sure I’ve made that clear.

Daniel: You have. What’s, um, what’s going on with you? Um, I really wish that my mother didn’t grill you about moving back to the states and living here. I– I hope that she didn’t put you too much on the spot there.

****************************

Diane: Uh, it’s soon, but gives us time to plan.

Jack: A– a– about that, um, do you think you could trust me to handle all of the arrangements, so that it could be a surprise for you?

Diane: What are you up to? Come on, give me a hint.

Jack: Well, a hint would be counter to the whole idea of a surprise. Oh, you’re trying to break my resolve, aren’t you?

Diane: Come on, just a tiny little hint.

Jack: Okay, um, it will be dazzling and it will be a reflection of who we are and what we have.

Diane: Hmm. I’m intrigued.

Jack: Yeah.

Billy: Productive meeting.

Jack: As a matter of fact, it was. Uh, we were discussing our wedding reception.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

[ Vehicle approaches ] Hm! I’d know that car anywhere. Five, four, three, two, one! Lucy! What a surprise. Ha. Is it, though? Is it really a surprise? We’ll see. Hey, chase, have you seen my — phone? Yes. You left it in the bathroom again. Thank you. I know I should not check my social media while I’m blow-drying my hair, but it’s a bad habit. Mm-hmm. Oh! Well, that’s a good habit. I’ll say. I’m almost tempted to suggest that we call in sick for work, but I know you’d never consider it, right? Well, you know I can’t call in sick. But maybe… just maybe… …I could show up a little late.

[ Knock on door ] Hi, chase. Hi. Brook lynn here? Mason: Ava. What are you doing here? The gallery’s not open. Door was unlocked. Well, the sign says “closed,” and I have nothing to say to you, so — ava, shut up! You set us up. The boss is pissed. That’s not good. I was just playing with donna’s paper dolls. She was, like, making a parade or something. Yeah. I heard all about it. The celebration for when daddy comes home. Yeah. Let’s just say things haven’t been great in donna’s dollworld the last few days. Yeah, I know. So? How’d you explain to her what happened? I just told her that the fbi made a mistake and I had to stay with the fbi until they cleared it up and, uh… everything’s — everything’s good now and there’s nothing to worry about. We both know that’s not true. Anna. Hey, it’s dante. Look. I just want to let you know I haven’t forgotten about you. I’m just waiting on confirmation on something, and once I have it, you’ll be interested to see it, for sure. So, um, I’ll talk to you soon. Okay. Bye. You’re up. Yeah, you too. You had an early class? I did a little yoga, yes. And I feel centered. You should try it sometime. Maybe I will. Mmm! Seeing as you’re centered, maybe it’s a good time to talk about what to do about our friends the fugitives. Sasha? Sasha! Sasha? Hey! Sasha!

I’m relieved and grateful that the charges against you were dropped. Thank you. And not just because of the kids. I mean, I don’t want to see you suffer. I feel the same way. I don’t believe for one second that the fbi made a “mistake.” They obviously had enough evidence against you. So what happened? The feds were expecting something not exactly legal, and what they found was… incredible coffee. Which you only receive at the warehouse, never at the pier. And you never ship coffee in the middle of the night, so there must have been a reason for you to have it at the docks. It’s almost like you knew the fbi was gonna bust you. Well, I didn’t know that was gonna happen, but I did, you know, lay some false breadcrumbs to feed my enemies. What enemy? That’s what I’m gonna find out. And I will. You made a real mistake trying to play the boss. Leave, mason, or I’ll call the cops. You’re trespassing.

[ Chuckles ] Really? You’re gonna call the police, ava? When I have evidence that you murdered your ex-husband? Don’t forget who has the body with your dna all over it. We had a deal. I did my part. No. We know what you did, ava. The deal was that you help us. In exchange, you get the body. But you — you decided to double-cross us. That is absolutely untrue! The evidence, the — the information that betty brought back was false! It was a setup! That means sonny was warned, and the only person that could have done that was you, ava! Did you come to discuss the case or do you want to make a deal? First, I’d like information. I understand. So there’s a thing called discovery. It’s what lawyers do. Your lawyer can contact my lawyer, and all of your questions can be answered… in six months when the trial — if and when we go to trial. And, by the way, discovery ends I think two weeks before the trial. I know that. And you know I don’t have time to wait. I need answers now. I understand. But unfortunately that’s not the way the legal system works. You are going to have to be patient. Is there something else I could help you with? You know, lucy, this could all go away. 75/25. I’ve taken the liberty of drawing up the papers. There’s just a few places to sign, and I’ve marked them.

[ Chuckles ] Gee. Thank you so much. I am not signing anything. Isn’t that why you’re here? To make a deal? No. There’s no deal. Can we just stop this? Can we stop and just drop the pretense, okay? I know you don’t have any of the schematics on the deceptor. I — I know that. Prove it. Prove you got something. You know? Show me what you got. Maxie. Hi. I was just about to head to the office. Oh, that’s what I thought. And your new digs are on the way from my new digs, so I figured I’d take a chance and see if you were still here. Can I get you a cup of coffee, maxie? Oh, no, chase. I don’t want to hold you up. I know how much policing you have to do this afternoon. And with mac as commissioner, I know what a demon he can be about his officers being on time, so… yeah, you’re right about that. I’m gonna skip that lecture today. Thank you very much. I love you. Don’t work too hard. -Goodbye, maxie. -Bye, chase.

[ Door closes ] So? How’d the move go?I didn’t stop by to catch up. Why did you give the deceptor information to tracy? The best way you can help cody and sasha is to stay as ignorant as possible. Hm. Yeah. The problem is, I can’t ignore that a friend of mine escaped a mental facility and took one of its patients with him. Yeah, but we’ve been over this last night. You need deniability. Look.

[ Sighs ] I get it, and I appreciate that you want to protect me. Well, of course, I want to protect you. I love you. And I know you love being a cop. And I don’t want you to do anything to compromise that. I get it, but… I love you… and I want to protect you, too. Oh. Yeah. It seems I’m not the only one who could be compromised by this whole thing. I got an update on the case, and for helping cody, you made yourself an accessory to kidnapping and assault. Wait. What assault?

[ Sighs ] Cody attacked sasha’s psychiatrist, a guy named dr. Montague. Wait. Did you just say dr. Montague? It feels so good to breathe fresh air. To smell the forest instead of disinfectant. Good morning, sasha. I have no idea how long I was at ferncliff, but… I remember laying on that bed just wishing that I was outside… feel the sun on my face… to breathe freely. And here I am. Because of you. So you’re not mad at me for busting you out of there? I’ve never been more grateful to anyone in my life.

[ Chuckles ] Yeah, you’re welcome. Well, aside from being able to breathe freely… how are you really feeling? I’m confused, cody. What actually happened last night?

Any word on the apb on cody bell and sasha gilmore? No sightings yet, sir. Alright. Let me know immediately the moment that changes. Commissioner. Deputy mayor. A word? The fbi busts sonny corinthos… then lets him go. And meanwhile, we’ve got two escaped mental patients running around. What the hell is going on here, mac? What do you remember, sasha? I remember being in more pain than I’ve ever felt. I remember being terrified that someone — you — were gonna hurt me. But you didn’T. You sat with me. You helped me. You had pretty severe withdrawal symptoms. The doctors and the nurses keep saying that I was using, that I had someone slipping me drugs. But I swear, cody! I didn’t! Hey. Sasha.

[ Stammers ] I know. I believe you. Why? Why would you? Everyone knows that I have gotten clean before and then relapsed. There’s a huge stigma in the meetings against people who slip back into using. Why wouldn’t you think that I’ve gone the same way? Well, two reasons. One, you told me. And, two, I know exactly who was drugging you. It was dr. Montague. I ran into dr. Montague, literally, at G.H. When we were there for cody’s evaluation. Look. I didn’t think anything of it at the time. I-I didn’t know he had anything to do with sasha. And I accidentally spilled a cup of coffee on his phone, and I was, like, washing it off, and a call came in from a “gladys.” Not a very common name. No, it’s not. Dante, this could be the smoking gun that proves that gladys messed with sasha, just like cody said. And if dr. Montague is the psychiatrist… or — or…

because he’s sasha’s psychiatrist. Gladys called him to get an update on her prognosis because she’s sasha’s guardian. Okay, well, there is a-another thing that I didn’t — I didn’t tell you. So, I mentioned something offhand about playing cards, and he said that he had a game that he played in regularly and said that there would be a spot for me. I got the feeling he was talking high stakes. The game at the savoy. Poker game in the back room. And we both know that gladys loves to gamble. So maybe gladys met dr. Montague there. Come on, lucy. You should know better than to ask me that. Hm. What I want to know better is why. Why do you think you actually own the rights to the deceptor? Do you even have a prototype? Do you know the word “prototype”? I can’t believe you don’t understand that I will not comment on that. Just tell me. How did you get it? My lawyer told me not to discuss the case. There isn’t a case! All you have is your attempt to steal the deceptor through legal intimidation! You know what I think? I think this is about you. You want to get revenge on me ’cause you can’t stand your nasty, miserable life. Hm. Tempting bait. But I won’t bite. There’s a deal on the table, and you are here because you realize this is your best and only option. So why don’t you save us a lot of trouble? Just give me what I want. 75% of deception. Why would I? Sonny and I have been fighting over our daughter since the day she was born. So you’d want to get in his good books. That — that’s absurd. He would wonder what kind of leverage you had over me, and then I would have to tell him about nikolas’ accidental death. And then he would take avery away from me in a heartbeat! I did exactly as I was told. I got betty hired. I made sure that she had open access to sonny’s home. Now, if betty screwed up and got you bad information, well, I think that’s your fault for using someone incompetent. It certainly has nothing to do with me. All I know is dr. Gatlin-holt and his cousin mason work for this person, and they pressured ava into getting information about me. Pressured ava how? I mean, do they have something on her? Are they blackmailing her? That’s need-to-know, carly, and I don’t think you need to know. I need to know if you’re protecting ava.

As you can see,it’s quite straightforward. All you have to do is sign and then you continue working at the company and you reap the benefits of the deceptor and anything else deception expands into. Did you come here to waste my time? 75/25 is off the table. I did not put my heart and my soul into a company just to give it away for some measly percentage. No. I do understand. After all the work you put into the company, it would be difficult to give up any amount, any percentage. So if not 75/25, what would you be amenable to? Well, you know, deception is a whole lot more than just the deceptor. So I guess if — and that’s a great, big, fat “if” — you came up with a similar product at the exact same time and can prove it, then maybe I would settle for… 50/50.

[ Laughs ] Lucy. Lucy, you’re way off base. 65/35. It’s complicated, maxie. So I take that as a “yes.” You stole the information and gave it to tracy. Maxie — I don’t know why I didn’t see this sooner. You left deception because you wanted to get back into music, and then all of a sudden, you’re — you’re back. Lucy was under the impression that I rehired you, but you led me to believe that lucy had when the whole time you were really working for tracy. You took advantage of our friendship and my trust so you could steal information about our most valuable product! Yes, maxie. That’s exactly what I did. What are you doing about it, mac? We have an apb on the two ferncliff inmates. It’s cody bell and sasha gilmore. Sasha? She was committed right after stabbing cody. Is it possible he may have taken her for revenge? It’s highly unlikely. Look, I know cody. I’m convinced he means her no harm. Sounds like you might have an idea why he took her. It’s been reported as a kidnapping. I don’t think it was a kidnapping. Okay. I’ve learned to trust your instincts, but that doesn’t change the fact that they are fugitives and have to be found.

[ Police radio chatter ] How can I help you? Agent moss. I’m here to see commissioner scorpio. He’s in the interrogation room. I can show agent moss in. -Thank you. -Right this way. Mac: Come in. Mac, I have agent moss here for you. Bring him in. I assume you’re here with information on the sonny corinthos case. The person I’m protecting, carly, is avery. It’s not — it’s not good for her to have her mother put in the middle of something shady. What did ava do? Uh, she came into my place looking for something, and she didn’t get it, and then they made it look like pilar messed up so ava would fire her. Pilar was a setup? Yeah, and then they pressured ava into hiring betty, which is their plant. So mason and austin sent betty to get information on you, and ava had to go along. Oh, my god. No wonder she was so worried about betty. I was wondering why she hired someone she didn’t like. She didn’t have a choice. I didn’t have a choice. So what I did was switch the game. Instead of betty playing fetch with them, I had her deliver a parcel from me. Which was…? Exactly what they were looking for. But, you know, brick and I, we kind of made a few modifications. You gave them false information. So austin and mason must have taken the bait back to their boss. That’s why you asked me about austin’s visit to pentonville. So you think their boss, your enemy, is someone inside pentonville. Cody admitted that he was playing poker for selina wu, and he said that gladys was in there and she lost big. Well, that’s convenient, seeing as gladys controls all of sasha’s money, right? Not to mention she sold brando’s garage. Do you think she’s really using these funds to repay debts? Yeah, I do, dante. I mean, it certainly seems like that. Just think about it. Sasha was doing so much better. Maxie was going around telling everyone how well she handled that tv show, and sasha was working so hard to end her conservatorship so she can have control of her own assets. And if sasha was able to do that, she would have seen what gladys was doing with the money and gladys wouldn’t have wanted that to happen. No. Gladys had to make sure sasha stayed “mentally unfit.” So gladys must have met montague at the poker game and gotten him to help her do something to sasha. Son of A… dante… dr. Montague gave me injections. He — he said that they were to help me get off the drugs. But I kept telling him that I wasn’t on any drugs. I never bought anything from anybody. Okay. Alright. Now, sasha, this is — this is really important. Okay. When you went live on that show, “home & heart,” you did great, right? Y-you kept your cool under a very stressful situation. Were you on any medication at all at that time? Just my antidepressant. I have been taking them for eight months, but they were prescribed by my old psychiatrist. Okay. Well, what about after that? Any other medications? Yes. I was taking the pills dr. Montague gave me.

So you admit it, and you’rejust gonna stand there like you stole my yogurt from the work fridge. No, maxie. Okay? I am not trying to minimize what I did. I am so, so sorry. But I swear I had no idea what tracy was gonna do with that information about the deceptor. Really? Yes. I mean, you, better than anyone, should know what a schemer tracy is. Did you think she was just too cheap to buy one so she was gonna build one for herself? She said she wanted to know about it. Tracy always has an agenda, brook lynn! You had to know she was gonna use that information against us! I was desperate, maxie! I owed tracy big-time, okay? And this is how she collected. Listen. Maxie… when chase was kicked off the police force for defending me, I was supposed to write a letter to help him get reinstated, but I hesitated because I was too selfish, you know, too scared of losing him. But I knew I had to fix it. So I went to my grandmother. She said she could pull some strings, get him a second hearing. It was like an angel had come down to earth to right all of the wrongs. Well, that angel quickly turned demon when she threatened to go tell chase unless I got her the information on the deceptor. And you know how much chase hates being manipulated. Stop! I have heard enough.

[ Scoffs ] We are not in high school anymore, brook lynn. You put my job, my livelihood at risk because you couldn’t be honest with your boyfriend?!

[ Scoffs ] Didn’t he break up with you once before because you lied to him? Have you learned nothing? You are absolutely impossible. Lucy, you really don’t have any other options. You can let deception slide into oblivion as the case drags on for months with appeals and delays. Then, of course, you’ll have your real-estate business. I think the quartermaines have some swamp land in putnam county that you can offload. 60/40. Okay? That way, you get to keep control ’cause that’s what you love, is control, and I keep a decent share. But…there will be a clause that you cannot remove me as ceo and you cannot take me off

any of my board positions. Okay? Lucy… throughout our history, there is one thing I have come to bank on. You’re a grifter. You’ll always take care of number one. But I do understand that the disparity in our percentages is disconcerting. Even a tiny amount could be humiliating. So I am feeling extremely generous today. How about 51/49? That’s just a 1% difference. 51/49. Really? Deal. Hm. Okay, well, then, uh, I guess we’ll get in touch with each other to draw up that paperwork, shall we? Lucy. There’s one other detail. The deal is contingent upon you returning the 1% voting rights in elq. Commissioner, I’d like a private talk. Deputy mayor ashford was the police commissioner before she took over for the mayor. And she worked for the dea. Detective chase is one of our finest. Anything you can say to me, you can say to them. When we arrested sonny corinthos and raided his shipment, we were acting on information that he was illegally transporting classified weapons. The charges were dropped because there was nothing in the crates but coffee. Sounds like sonny was one step ahead of you. He was. But he won’t always be. I have a few ideas who my enemy might be inside pentonville, but I’m not quite sure. But the — the only connection there is is between my false information that betty stole and my arrest is gatlin-holt’s trip to pentonville. I had them both followed after betty delivered the goods. Mason went to some “working girl.” And austin went to pentonville. Oh. That mason sounds like a great guy. I’m thinking austin, uh, was there to give some information to someone. And then, in turn, the fbi got it. I think they’re trying to take me down or they’re just trying to get points with the feds. Or both. So you need to know who austin saw during his visit at pentonville. Well, that’s where you can help me out. Really? If you’re willing. Sonny didn’t get where he is by being stupid. He’s more than capable of picking up on that sociopathic gleam in betty’s eyes. You know, maybe betty’s sweet act wasn’t as convincing as you thought it would be. Has that ever occurred to you? Well, maybe sonny realized that she was a plant and he decided to turn the tables. And that would — yeah, I’m pretty sure that would make this your fault, wouldn’t it, mason, for using the wrong operative. Not a story I’d want to take back to my boss. Well, take this back to your boss. I did my part. I just want this to be over. I didn’t say anything to sonny! I don’t intend to say anything to sonny! My life and the lives of the people I care about matter too much to me. We’ll be in touch.

I-I’m sorry. Just — I’m sorry. I — just — ugh! I’ve never — I’ve never liked gladys. You know? She just — I just didn’t trust her. And she just — she seemed all moneygrubbing. And — and she — she lied all the time. But I thought she was basically harmless, you know? And she was sonny’s family. A-and mike liked her. I mean, poor brando, man. I mean, he was a good guy, and he had gladys as a mother? And I thought, you know, when he — when he died, that — that she cared and she would want to do right by his widow. But — but I guess not. I mean… cody saw through her. Hey, hey. Hey. You had no way of knowing. No, sam. I’m a detective. I mean, come on. I was blinded. You know, cody was talking about her for months, but my — my own stupid misgivings about him, like, messed up my judgment. I mean, you knew. You knew. Y-you said it. Why didn’t I listen? Why did I let it get this far? After my second session with dr. Montague, he gave me some pills for anxiety. Okay, well, what was the prescription for? It — he just gave me a bottle of pills. Told me to take three a day, which I did. You didn’t even know what you were taking? I’m sorry, sasha. Cody, it — it all started then. I remember I was feeling so impulsive, full of energy. I-I wanted to celebrate everything. And I had no control. I was — I couldn’t keep track of things, but I-I didn’t care. That’s when the shoplifting incident happened. You were taking the pills the whole time? Three a day. Montague was drugging you long before you got sent to ferncliff. But why, cody? Why would he do it? This goes no further than the room. Mac: Of course. We believe mr. Corinthos

is involved in the trafficking and sale of these restricted weapons. While we haven’t been able to prove it, this is an ongoing investigation with suspected ties to both the government and private sector. We’ll continue to monitor corinthos. What does the fbi expect from the pcpd in terms of cooperation? Corinthos has a son here in the department. Detective dante falconeri. He was present at his father’s arraignment. If there’s any reason to suspect that detective falconeri is feeding sonny information or providing any kind of assistance, we want to know about it. You have been waiting years and years and years to spring this on me, haven’t you?! You can’t stand the fact that I have 1% of your family legacy. You wormed your way into my family by taking advantage of my brother’s weakness. You had an affair with him when he was married to monica. Okay. So we’re gonna bring this up now? Okay. Really? Really?! You know, monica was to blame, too, because she slept with your son ned. The point is… you blackmailed me into appointing you co-ceo. That is one of my biggest regrets. And that is ancient, ancient history! Why in the world are you dredging that up now?! Because I am here to prevent the quartermaine ship from running aground. Somebody has to get this family back on course. And if my son can’t do it, then I have to do it. Lucy coe, you have clung to my family like a barnacle. And it’s time we scrape off everything that doesn’t belong. And that means you. 1% voting rights in elq! And that is my final offer!

Never. Ha. We’ll see.

[ Door slams ] Listen to me. I know how this sounds. And I am not making excuses. But I love chase, more than I ever thought was possible, and all I cared about was getting him his badge back. And when he did, when things were looking up for us, I just — I didn’t want to ruin it. I was weak, maxie. So I gave in to tracy’s demands. And when I — I finally mustered up enough courage to stand up to her, I was too late. She already had the information on the deceptor. Why didn’t you come to me? After everything we went through with bailey lou. Why didn’t you trust me, brook lynn? We could have schemed up a solution together. Instead… you betrayed me.

Hello to you, too. Our mutual friend just left. Oh, I think she’s gonna fold. No. This is a perfect time to come and visit. Port charles is beautiful in the fall. You’re right. In hindsight, I-I should have come to you. I would have helped you. I don’t know. I — I was just too ashamed, too stupid. I thought I could handle it. Handle tracy? I had no idea what she was planning, maxie! I could never have foreseen sasha’s meltdown or the fact that the deceptor would be our only moneymaker. I could have never planned for any of that. Maxie, look. I messed up. And I will do everything in my power to make it right. Okay? I’ll — I’ll come up with a social-media campaign against tracy, and it’ll go viral. Come on, maxie. We can still — we can handle this. We can make it right. That’s not gonna happen. I’m not gonna let that happen. You’ve proven you cannot be trusted. You’re fired. No. Maxie, please. I’ll work for free. Please. Just let me make it right. Brook lynn… that ship has sailed.

[ Door closes ] Austin, where the hell are you? Your cousin was just here again making crazy accusations. I can’t take this anymore. And I’m telling you, austin, if he drags me under, you’re coming down with me. Am I willing to help you get the answer? Am I willing to help you, period? I mean, there was a time when I would have jumped in. I would have said “yes” immediately. But now, you know…

[ Chuckles ] Not so much? Is this gonna endanger drew or affect his sentence in any way? No, not at all. I don’t know. Sonny, so much has happened, you know? So much has changed between us. I understand.

Do you understand or are you just saying that because you want me to do what you want me to do? No, I understand that things have changed, but one thing

hasn’t changed — that, you know, like, y-you would do anything for me, I would do anything for you. And, you know, I’m always there for you. I know. And I know you wouldn’t ask me if it wasn’t serious. And if someone’s gunning for you, that means they can come after my kids. So, yes, of course, I’m in. What do you need me to do? I’ll tell you on the way to pentonville. How could you have known what was going on? Gladys is a snake, and she’s cunning, and she had to keep sasha in the guardianship so she could have access to her money. And that meant convincing everyone, including you, that she had sasha’s best interests at heart. Bottom line is I should have just listened to cody. I didn’t — I didn’t believe him at first. But, I mean, come on. He hasn’t exactly been 100% honest with either one of us. No. I know. He hasn’t, but… he said sasha was being drugged the whole time. Even after she stabbed him, he said it wasn’t her. I mean, what did — what did — how long has she been on these drugs? What is she taking? I-I don’t know. We will figure that out. The important thing is that cody cared enough to go into ferncliff and get sasha out. I think he saved her life. I got to see him. I got to talk to cody. You gotta trust me, baby, and take me to where they’re hiding. Cody, I never even met dr. Montague until he was assigned to evaluate me. What possible motive could he have for drugging me? I’m guessing that he was being paid. Paid? By who? By the person who did have a motive. Your mother-in-law. Gladys.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

Mrs. Brady! Hi! Oh, Belle, please. Okay, Belle. Wow, those are pretty flowers. Are those for you or someone special? They are for somebody really special. I don’t know how I got this lucky.

Oh, you, uh, You really took me by surprise there. I mean, after I talked to my dad, I was determined to get you back, but then I Determined? You were headed for the door, I practically had to drag you back in here. Well, I wasn’t really sure, I was The whole thing was gonna go. I misread your signals. You and I, we’ve always been complicated.

Less. So I just assumed that it was gonna stay that way. You know, which is why… I thought you were telling me what you would tell you. Well, then I have to get better at sending signals. Because… It’s you. I want to be with Johnny. It’s you.

What part of who hired you to kill a Vitaly do you not get? No one hired me, I swear. I was there to treat Miss Vitaly, not kill her. I’m a nurse. Like hell you are. Look, the way I see it, you have two options. You can either dummy up and go down for attempted murder, or you can roll on whoever’s paying you and maybe we can cut a deal.

It’s your choice.

It’s not a trick question. I just want to know how long the detective has been in there. Bloody hell. Just make sure no one knows you called me.

Well, it’s up to me now. I have to shut her up.

I was with the manager down the block at the pizza place. He recognized Michaels from a photo in the paper. The desk clerk, he made a positive ID of the woman in the room. Be careful. Tally and Michaels, they’ve both killed before. The situation calls for… Don’t hesitate to use deadly force. Gotcha. Alright, yeah.

I’m sorry that we had to cut our night short. Are you really apologizing? Tripp, you just found out someone tried to kill your mother. Not someone. EJ DiMera paid for that hit. I just know it. God knows where my mom is now. I’m just going. I’ll dump this bag in my room, and you can hop on the computer and see if there’s any more news on the search.

Yeah, I’ll do the same. I’ll meet you back in the living room. Like sand through

the hourglass, so are the days of our lives.

Nothing.

It’s not warm. Looks like they missed dinner and we missed them.

Son of a… They cut off their hospital ID bracelets and took off. Damn it! Sean, what are you doing here?

Mom, thank God you’re okay. You are okay, right? Mm hmm, yeah. Okay. Tell me what happened. Well, a nurse that I’d never seen before came in to give me a shot. I know a hired gun when I seen one. Yeah, I heard that you shot her. Look, EJ sent her. I’m sure of it. Oh my god, this, this. Wendy, uh, this is, this is my mom.

Wendy was with me when we found out about you guys. From the police, I assume? They’re hunting for you both. Yeah, figured. Okay, well, if you didn’t walk through the lobby… We used the fire escape, stairs, and I jimmied the window. Where were you guys when the cops caught up with you? The Salem Inn. Okay, good.

That means we should be safe. For now. What

name you wanted to hear? I’d give it to you, make this go away, but I don’t. I hate guns. I never even held one. Still sticking to the nurse story, huh? Well, the hospital administrator at Bayview, they’ve never even heard of you. And you’re not on the payroll. I don’t work for them. An agency sent me to cover for someone who was sick.

I’ll need the name of that agency. Look, I don’t know what this crazy lady told you, but she shot me. She and the guy who grabbed the gun, they’re in this together. She hasn’t told us a thing. And neither has he. They’re on the run. And that’s not enough to convince you got me all wrong. I’ve never seen that lady before in my life.

Hmm. Interesting. Because there’s an unread message on this burner phone you had on you. Shall I read it?

Why haven’t I heard from you? Is Ava out of the picture yet? You know, this is what we call in the detective business, having the goods.

So, are you ready to talk?

You know, after all the bad stuff that I did to Chanel, To get a second chance like this, I just feel so lucky. Oh, I’m so happy for you, Talia. You know, I’ve been getting a lot of second chances lately. And it all started when you became my lawyer. I mean, your mom, she’s great. She helped me understand what Colin was doing to my head, and Dr.

Johnson at the hospital, she brought me on a staff to work at the university hospital. Oh, really? I didn’t hear that. How? Yeah, it just happened. But now, maybe Chanel and I have a future. But, I just called her and told her that I wanted to come over, but she hasn’t called me back yet. So, I’m trying to decide if I should just wait, or…

If I should surprise her. Oh. Ah, well, I always vote for surprise. Never underestimate an armful of flowers. Well, Here. Here’s a surprise for you to give to your husband. Thank you so much for everything that you’ve done for me. Seriously.

Sean, I asked you a question. What are you doing here? Um, I mean, this is a manhunt, right? I heard you call out on the police scanner to get some backup, so I figured I’d come here and see if I can help. So, uh, This is where they were holed up. Um, Uh, Ava and, Ava and Michaels. Sean. Call for backup was for officers who were on duty.

Uh, yeah, I mean, so what? I mean, it’s obvious that you, you, you came up empty here, so why don’t you give me, um, I mean, like, give me an assignment? I appreciate that, Sean, but you, you realize this is not a normal day for you? Yeah, nothing gets past you, does it? Excuse me. What the hell am I supposed to do?

Just sit there in the mausoleum all day. Right? Victor’s not coming back. They put him in the wall. So gimme something I, no, gimme something to do. Sean. Go on an assignment or something. Okay. Sean, listen to me’s. Not a good idea. Okay. Like why the hell not? Because you’re drunk.

Wow. I, uh, I can’t believe it, I haven’t been this happy in a long time. You mean you care? I just… You just what? I, I don’t know what I’m gonna do about Talia. I mean, I really do like her, Johnny, but… It was never what you and I had. Nothing’s ever come close. Not for me. Not for me either. Oh Johnny, we were so lucky that this is happening now.

Before things got serious with Talia. But I’m gonna have to let her down easy. She’s really vulnerable right now.

Hey, you’re safe here for as long as you want. Anybody who comes through that door is gonna come through me. How does he figure to know this? Oh, honey. If it wasn’t for Harris, I would be dead right now. He rushed the woman before she could even get a shot off. Last time I saw this guy was in Seattle and he showed up with an exploding pizza.

Tried to take us all out. And the last time I saw him was when he crashed Stefan and Gabby’s engagement party and tried to kill the groom. I I’ve been brainwashed. And I’m sorry for everything I did. And I’m just, I’m just trying to move forward. The only reason I’m here is, is to help your mom.

Okay. Okay, then, tell me. Do you really think going on the run is a smart decision? The cops know what went down at Bayview. They know that you shot the woman in self defense. Okay, hold on. What? Look, there is something about EJ you don’t know. Look, he doesn’t even know it. What are you talking about? His mother is alive.

I had a nerve with that message, didn’t I? Good. Now stop wasting my time and tell me who was behind the hit. And I’ll talk to the DA. All you have to do is tell me who hired you to kill Ava Metalli. Do not answer that question.

How dare you tell me that I’m drunk when I’m most certainly not. I mean, what do you want me to do? me to walk a straight line? Or do you want me to stand on a foot? I can smell it on you. Look, I had a couple of drinks after the funeral, so what? A couple of drinks is not going to stop me from doing my job.

Get out of here, or I’m going to take your badge, and you’re going to be suspended. Okay? Get yourself together, or you’re going to lose this damn job. You know, you got a lot of nerve talking to me like that. Listen to me, okay? You told me you were going to get yourself together, alright? I can’t control you.

If you want to do this to yourself, that’s fine. You hear me? But think about what you’re doing to Belle. And what about your daughter?

Fine, fine, you know what? I’ll go. No, no, no, no, no. You’re in no shape to drive yourself. Can you make sure that Officer Brady gets home safely, please? I got work to do.

So you started seeing Susan? Yeah. A couple of weeks ago. And she told me that I wasn’t telling the truth about the accident. Which… I didn’t understand, I couldn’t make any sense of it, so Harris suggested that I have a session with Marlena, which I did. And I had a memory flash of the night of the car accident.

Look, right before it exploded, I remembered seeing Susan get out of the back seat and run away. I don’t know what happened. I must, I must have just blocked it out. But since then, since I remembered, I have seen Susan more times. I’ve had, I’ve had visions of her. But some… Now you’re saying they’re visions.

Susan has strange powers. Psychic powers. She has appeared to me more than once. And the last time it was earlier today. And listen, at first I thought it was a hallucination. But now, I am convinced it was the real Susan. And she’s trying to reach out to me. Yeah, and we, uh, figured out from a reference that Susan made that she might be in London.

So we need to go there. We need to find Susan because it is the only way to get EJ off of my back. You just escaped custody, Mom. How do you expect to get out of the country? That’s why you come in. Trip you are my only hope.

Mr. DiMera, what a pleasant surprise. I was just having a little trouble trying to convince your friend here to tell me who hired her to off Ava Vitale. Maybe you can fill in the blanks. You seem to be implying that I’m her employer. Well, why else would you rush in here and tell her to keep her mouth shut?

I said that because I’m her attorney.

Surprise!

Oh. Um, I didn’t mean to interrupt. No, no, you’re, you’re not. Johnny was just leaving. Thanks for coming by. Uh, yeah, absolutely. I’ll um, I’ll, I’ll, I’ll see you around, Chanel. And you too, Talia.

Here. They’re beautiful. I know, right? I got them at the flower cart in the square. And I just had to buy them for you. I’m guessing you missed my call, huh? Oh, I, I, I guess I did. Oh, I wasn’t saying anything. I was just saying how I wanted to come over. Because I just had to see you again. Last night was so much fun.

But don’t worry, I’m not going to make you go bowling two nights in a row. I was just thinking maybe we could watch a movie or bake something together. I know how long it’s been. Oh yeah, just hang on. Okay. Is something wrong?

The commissioner told me to take you home. Please get back in the car. I don’t want to go home, okay? Listen, you’re not going to get any trouble. Just say that I pulled rank. Seriously, go. Get out of here. It’s okay, officer. I’m his wife. I got this.

Wow. Look who’s here. Well, I didn’t know where you went. After Chelsea left, I’ve been trying to call you. What’s going on with that officer? Uh, Escava Vitali and Harris Michaels, they escaped Bayview tonight. And Rafe put out a call asking for backup, and I went to his location, and… He told me to get lost.

You wanted to work? Tonight? Like this? Why does everybody keep saying that?

You know what? I am such an idiot. I was just going on and on about what we could do tonight, and I’m assuming you already have plans. What is it? Something with your mom? No. Then what is it? Johnny, he, he didn’t just stop by. He came to tell me that he still has feelings for me.

Oh. Well, that must not have been easy for you. You know, to let him down after saying something like that. I didn’t.

You know what I would like? I would like to just be able to have a couple of drinks on a very difficult day like today without everybody freaking the hell out. You know why I’m reacting this way, Sean. And why Rafe did too, okay? You’ve been, you’ve been struggling and all the drinking, it’s just not helping anything.

It’s making it worse. Damn it, Belle, can you, can you at least try to understand what it’s like, what my life is like? I get these flashes, these images, these images of me holding a gun to my dad. And instead of, instead of just pointing it at his leg, I’ve got it pointed at his head. Okay? And now, now he’s in a coma, and that could be permanent.

And on top of that, my grandfather’s dead. I get it. I get it. I get that you blame yourself. And oh my God, Sean, that is so wrong. self destructive, and it’s just not true. You are not to blame. Listen, I have been doing some thinking. Oh, you’ve been doing some thinking, huh? Well, that’s, uh, that’s never a good thing.

Stop it. Just stop it. Just listen to me. If the therapy isn’t working, then maybe we should be considering, like, a, a, a residential facility. A rehab? No, no, Belle, no way in hell. No, I’m, I’m not an alcoholic, I keep telling you that, okay? Listen, I, I just want you to be somewhere where you can work through this in a safe environment.

Oh, okay, so you’re telling me that you think that I deserve to be in a mental hospital? No. I am telling you that I, I, you need more help than I can give you. Yeah, you can’t give me that help and you obviously can’t be honest with me either.

You’re her lawyer. You’ve got to be kidding. I’m not kidding at all. I’m a proud and active member of the bar. Hmm. Well, you must be psychic too. Because our friend here, she just got out of emergency surgery and she hasn’t even had the opportunity to call anybody. I do watch the evening news. This poor woman is a victim, who I’ll stand by in her time of need.

The state chose to put Ava Vitale in a mental facility instead of prison after she killed my mother, and this shooting is the inevitable result of that. I don’t know why. The police are harassing you, but you can rest assured that I will do everything in my power to get them off your back. That is, if I have your trust.

Well, obviously we need passports to get out of the country, but we can’t have our real names on those passports. Yeah, and I have contacts for that, but it’s gonna take a little time. Yes, you want me to be the person that they deal with. I can, I can handle that. But what happens in the meantime? Okay, well, until we can get the passports, we’re gonna need a place to hide out.

Well, that’s a problem. My brother lives here too, and he’s dating D. H. Trask. They hang out here sometimes. Yeah, that definitely is a problem. Yeah, and the cops are gonna be back here asking me more questions. I mean, it’s not safe for you here unless you can get those passports in the next couple hours. A couple hours?

It’s gonna take longer than that. No. It won’t.

What’s the matter? Don’t you want to take Mr. DiMera’s generous offer?

I don’t know you, Mr. DiMera, but I’m in no position to be choosy, so… If you can do anything to get me out of this situation, just do it. You heard her. This interview is over, so why don’t you put your energy into locating Ava Vitale. And remember, she’s armed and dangerous. Honey, you are making a big mistake.

I can blow big holes through your story and you know it. But you know what? The offer still stands. Just in case Mr. DiMera here doesn’t have your best interest at heart.

She scares me. Leave it to me. You did the right thing. Now tell me, why on God’s earth is Ava Vitale still breathing?

I can get you those passports you need right here, right now. How? Well, back in my ramen and boiled water days, I made fake IDs for underage teenagers. Nobody ever had a problem with them. Yeah, but there’s a big difference between a driver’s license and a passport. Even if you could reproduce the inside pages, you can’t magically come up with an embossed passport cover.

I don’t need to. No, I just need an actual passport that I can doctor. And I can cure you. I happen to have one. And I have another one. I’m telling you, if Wendy says she can do it, she can. Okay. Do we have any other options? Okay, Wendy. What do you need from us? Names. How about William Thacker and Anna Scott?

You just came up with those out of the blue? Well, actually, they’re Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts characters from Notting Hill, one of my favorite movies. Okay, then. Uh, I guess all we need now are… Pictures. Right?

I guess I walked in right before you could tell Johnny about us, right? Talia, that’s, that’s not what happened. I did. Tell Johnny how I feel yeah, but you just said please just let me finish, okay What I said was that I didn’t let him down

Oh, yeah, I I wasn’t expecting any of this when when you and I first started seeing each other I thought that that Johnny and I were just friends Yeah, but now he wants to be more than friend. Right. So do you. I do. Talia, Talia, you are such a good person. You, you have been through hell. And you still found a way to put your life back together.

And if the timing had been different… Okay, no, okay? You don’t have to say that. You don’t have to give me a pep talk, okay? I should have known everything was going way too well for me. It was just… Too good to be true. Okay, I don’t deserve you, Chanel. I know that. Hey, don’t say that. You, you deserve all the good things that are happening for you right now.

Just not you. I’m really sorry. Don’t be, okay? It’s my fault. I should’ve never told you how I felt about you in the first place.

When did I lie to you? I, I don’t know. I guess maybe it was just an oversight that you went, uh, and offered to help Phillip, and you didn’t even tell me he’s alive. Alright. Chloe asked me to become his lawyer, which meant that I couldn’t tell anyone that he was back. No, there are over, there are a million lawyers in this world.

No, no, of course, Phillip wants the one that he used to sleep with. What? That is ancient history. Yeah, well, you cheating on me every single time we have a problem, that’s very current. Oh, and let me think about this. Who was the last person? Oh, it was EJ. And why’d you do it? What, did you do it because you thought Phillip was dead?

Don’t do this. Oh, I know, I know, I know. I’m supposed to just be over the fact that you and EJ slept together. Just like I’m supposed to be over that I put my dad in a coma and that my grandfather’s dead. Is there anything else? Anything else you want me to add to the list of things that shouldn’t be bothering you?

Let’s not do this here. Can we go home? Wait, home? Hold on, you, but you just told me that you think that I deserve to be in a mental hospital. Wait, then where are you going? I’m going to go someplace where I’m not going to be judged by everything I do and everything I feel. Sean, please. Sean!

I tried to follow you, but you were too fast for me. Can you please, Sean, please just call me?

It’s mixed, but whatever it is, we need to take it slow. Yeah, no, I totally agree.

I should go.

Um, maybe we should hang out sometime. There’s a free concert at the park tonight. Japanese takeout jobs. Hey, good we got a goal. Yeah. You wanna go? Um, I’d love to. I have a really good time tonight. Me too.

Thank you, Chanel. For what? For not hating me. I mean, for what I did, most people would never speak to me again. So, I know how big of a deal this is. And, I just want to let you know how much it means to me that you gave me a second chance. I’m glad

I did. So, how do you think it’s going so far?

Pretty well.

What am I doing? Come on. I know what happened back there. I know what happened back there.

So

EJ shows up at the hit woman’s hospital room with some lame story talking about he heard about her in the evening news. And then he says that he’s her attorney. Oh yeah, and uh, I assume she accepted? Oh yeah, and the first thing he told her was to stop talking to me. And when was the last time that EJ ever did something nice for someone he didn’t know?

You know, we’ll get a warrant to check his phone, see if he’s the one that left messages on this thing. You know, at least someone got somewhere tonight. By the time I got to that damn hotel, Ava and Michael’s had already taken off. Well, they’re gonna be really hard to find. As long as Ava still thinks she’s in danger from EJ.

Well, if we can’t find them, we’re just gonna have to track that bastard down by ourselves. I’m willing to work overtime on that.

So Ava had help getting the gun away from you. Another patient got in the way. It wasn’t just another patient. That was Harris Michael’s ex Navy SEAL. You’re the one who’s lucky to be alive. Believe me.

But if Ava thinks he is going to keep her safe from me, then she is in for a rude awakening.

Wow. This was not what I expected when we came here. Those work, right? Best fakes I’ve seen. I’ve seen a lot. Nice work. Yeah. Well, I, uh, I hate to say this, but we should probably hit the road, right, Mr. Thacker? Or should I call you Bill? Look, those passports are great, but they’re not going to protect you if EJ tracks you down.

Are you sure you’re making the best decision? I have to find Susan. Everything changes once I do.

Okay, you tell the cops that you saw me, but you couldn’t stop me from leaving, okay? It’s basically the truth. I’ll tell them I have no idea where you are. Which is also basically the truth.

Thank you. Both of you. Of course. You come back now, Mom. Safe. You know that’s the plan.

Oh, God. I love you, my son. I love you too, Mom.

Thanks again, Wendy. Of course. Good luck.

Ready.

Adam: You sound surprised, which is understandable. You know, it’s how I’ve always operated. Never apologize, never back down, eyes on the prize. I just can’t believe this is what it’s taken.

Sally: For what?

Adam: For me to see who I am and how I’ve been living. I mean, this is finally the wake-up call that I needed. I mean, the– the second part of the wake-up call.

Sally: What was the first part?

Adam: Losing our daughter the same moment I lost you.

********************

Diane: You have to know that we love you, and we always want your best interests at heart.

Jack: If we see you going down a bad path, we are always going to speak up.

Kyle: Oh, no, no, no, actually it’s a great path. You know, it’s a new life, a new job. I’m having a blast and loving every minute of it. Just like smiling jack in his old days.

Jack: I want you to come back to Jabot. I think we should talk about the possibilities.

Kyle: I have a job at a media company that is growing and thriving. I work alongside Nikki Newman. I don’t need anything. Oh, um, and I broke things off with Audra Charles. So, what exactly is the problem? She found it.

Diane: It’s my understanding that audra is being kept on at newman media.

Kyle: Yeah, we can work together without being in a personal relationship.

Diane: Was it your idea to break things off?

Kyle: This has nothing to do with summer, if that’s what you’re asking. We’re not going to get back together and audra is not to blame.

Diane: You’re the one who brought her up.

Kyle: Yeah, because you’re both so worried I’m on this road to hell.

Abby: Well, Dominic is actually in music class, which you would know if you had called before you stopped by, but I figure that you’re not actually here to see Dominic, so what’s up? If you’re here because you want to talk about my mom and Uncle Jack, I actually have some good news for you.

Billy: Well, I’ll take that. I could use some good news.

Abby: Well, she is currently on her way to paris on her honeymoon with tucker, which means she is putting this battle between her and Uncle Jack behind her and she is moving forward, focusing on her new life with her new husband.

Billy: Wow. So much for fool me once, huh? Look, I’m not worried about Ashley, okay? I do wish them both the best, and I really hope that she and Jack can get on solid ground again.

Abby: But you are worried about something, so talk to me.

Billy: It’s Diane, Abby. I’m afraid Ashley was right all along. Jack’s new wife… is gonna be a danger for Jabot.

*********************

Jack: I don’t know if I made it clear, but I am sick about where things stand between the two of us. All this conflict, all this suspicion. It’s like deja-vu, except it’s you instead of Ashley and you’re not married to somebody I despise.

Billy: And I’m taller than our sister, and I have brown hair. What’s your point exactly?

Jack: I’m just hoping there’s something you and i can actively do to keep this from escalating

Phyllis: Hi! Hey!

Summer: Hey!

Phyllis: Oh, my goodness! So great to see you.

Summer: It is. I haven’t been gone that long, have I?

Phyllis: You look terrific. That’s a great outfit.

Summer: Mom.

Phyllis: No, I mean, am i trying too hard? Am I? Okay. I mean, I just– I don’t want to try too hard and be that person. You know, things were just bad when we saw each other last, and I just don’t want there to be tension between us.

Summer: Yeah, I don’t want that either.

Phyllis: No, no, so let’s not have that. So, you look great. That’s marchetti, right?

Summer: Yeah, of course.

Phyllis: Beautiful. How was your trip?

Summer: Uh… it was amazing.

Phyllis: Of course.

Summer: I went to milan to buy fabric and– just all the textures and the colors there, it was so inspiring. I felt like a kid in a candy store, you know?

Phyllis: Yeah.

Summer: There was this knitted jacquard and a long-hair chenille, and I– I just was in touch with the design team and chelsea the whole time that I was there and I could just see this new collection taking shape in my mind.

Phyllis: That is incredible. Wow. It is so great to see you like this. All your creative juices flowing. This is good for you.

Summer: Yeah. This trip was really good for me, it made me… remember how much I– I– I love what I do. And it made me realize that it– it’s time to move on.

Daniel: Thank you.

Heather: Hey.

Heather: It’s fine.

[ Daniel laughs ]

Daniel: No, it’s not.

Audra: Is this a surprise? I thought you and ashley were in paris?

Tucker: Okay.

Audra: And you’re already back?

[ Audra scoffs ] That has to be the shortest of anyone on record.

Tucker: Uh, I know you’re a busy woman, so please don’t let me keep you.

Audra: Are you okay? You know, where is ashley?

Tucker: I really don’t want to talk about it with you, audra.

Audra: Oh, tucker. You know, I may be the only real friend you’ve got. And if something is wrong, I’m the one person you can talk to honestly and expect an honest response.

Tucker: What’s wrong is jack. I just didn’t realize the hold that he had on ashley was so strong.

Jack: You’re here.

Diane: Yeah.

Jack: Come on in.

[ Diane laughs ] A little privacy.

Diane: What’s that look about?

Jack: Uh, I think I’ll let this do the talking for me.

Diane: What’s this?

[ Diane gasps ] Ah!

Jack: Just the reaction I’d hope for.

Diane: Yes, because nothing would make me happier than celebrating being married to the love of my life.

Jack: Yeah. All we have to do is set a date.

Diane: Soon.

Jack: Oh, yeah, soon. I think we need to put our heads together on that.

Diane: Yeah, I think so.

Billy: You want to fix this? It’s easy. We get the board to put stipulations in on what diane can and cannot do in her new position at jabot.

Jack: How dare you?

Billy: It’s smart business until she can prove herself, jack. I mean, if you brought anyone else into this company that you weren’t married to, you would implement something like this in the bare minimum. Dry skin is sensitive skin, too.

Announcer: Additional sponsorship provided by…

Phyllis: Oh my gosh, I am– I’m so glad to hear you say that. Seriously, after everything I did that you are finally moving on.

Summer: You know, I’m talking about kyle, right?

Phyllis: Uh-huh.

Summer: I just feel like being in milan where we got married, where we– where we lived, it actually helped me release all of this anger and sadness that I’ve been carrying around. And I just feel like if I could be in the place where we have all those beautiful memories and still be excited by my work, it– it shows that I’m– I’m making really good progress. I’m letting go of him.

Phyllis: That– that’s not progress. That’s actually the opposite of progress.

Summer: I’m moving on though. I can be happy again.

Phyllis: I want you to be happy. But do you really want to move in this direction? And you let it be known that kyle’s one you always wanted and so now you have him, do you want to let him go?

Summer: I don’t have him. It’s over.

Phyllis: It doesn’t have to be.

Summer: Mom, do I seriously need to remind you why I’m even in this situation? It’s because of you and your obsession with diane and how far you were willing to take things?

Phyllis: Okay, well, um, diane left me no choice and I was not– not obsessed. It– I’m gonna take responsibility for that and take responsibility for the mistakes. I just don’t want my mistakes to be the reason, um, that your marriage is over, that’s all.

Summer: Kyle and i are getting a divorce. And honestly, it’s– it’s not my job to make you feel better about it.

Phyllis: No, no, it’s not your job. It’s not. This is not about me. It’s about you and your happiness.

Summer: The hell it is

Diane: A celebration.

Jack: Yeah, the timing just felt right. Things have calmed down, at least some.

Diane: Yeah, who knows how long that’ll last. We should probably just seize the moment.

Jack: You know what?

Diane: What?

Jack: Married to you, I am as happy, as optimistic as I have ever been in my life and I want my friends and my family to know about that.

Diane: I like the sound of that.

Jack: How do you like the sound of early october?

[ Billy sighs ]

Billy: That’s exciting. Um, listen… I’m glad I ran into the two of you. There’s something I need to say.

Jack: Billy–

Billy: I’m sorry.

Audra: Last I knew, uh, ashley and jack were preparing to go to war. What makes you think things have changed?

Tucker: Why do you care?

Audra: Because you look like hell and I’m concerned. And there’s an element of self-interest. You know, the abbots are major players in town and this would represent a huge shift. You know, what is that cardinal rule you used to drum into me all the time? Huh? This is valuable information, which–

Tucker: It happens to be my life in this instance.

Audra: Well, the hot gossip angle isn’t why I’m asking.

Tucker: Ashley and i had an argument.

Audra: Oh, come on, tucker. Okay, something’s off here. What you’re telling me is suspiciously vague.

Tucker: Ah, that’s too bad.

Audra: So, you decided to come back to genoa city without ashley because you had an argument. I don’t buy that.

Tucker: Maybe it was a little more than an argument. Choosing a treatment for your chronic migraine –

Summer: You know, if you try to push me and kyle back together, that’s about you and easing your own guilt.

Phyllis: No, I just want my children to be happy, that’s it.

Summer: Okay, so let us make our own choices.

Phyllis: I absolutely will do that, I’m just going to be a positive influence in your life, a force of love.

Summer: Mom, before you…

[ Sighs ] …Aspire to this, uh, superhero status, maybe just start small. Like, don’t do any more damage.

Phyllis: You’re angry and I understand that you’re angry and that’s okay because it means you care.

Summer: It means that I’m angry.

Phyllis: It– it could mean that too. Hey, your brother seems to be happy with lily. Who knows how long that will last now that heather is back in town.

Summer: Did you not hear what I just said about us making our own choices? Don’t get involved in that.

Phyllis: Okay, I won’t, I won’T. I just know you love kyle and I want you to have love in your life and I believe that kyle is your true love.

Summer: Well, I thought that too. But I was wrong. It’s really over between us.

Phyllis: Okay, well, there’s over and then there’s o-ver, right? I just think that kyle is, I don’t know, acting out. His emotions are all over the place and yours are too.

Summer: Actually, I feel stronger than I felt in a really long time. I feel really clear on who I am and what I want. And I’m moving on. I’m free.

Heather: Your mom was fine. It’s not like she asked me any questions I haven’t already asked myself.

Daniel: Well, I thought you were happy in lisbon?

Heather: I was, you know? At least I told myself I was and, you know, lucy saw it as this big adventure. It was really good for her to be in a new place.

Daniel: Hm. Far away from her father who had made such a mess of things back home.

Heather: I– I– I didn’t–

Daniel: What? No, no, no, no, no, no, no, it’s the truth.

Heather: Over time, it became less about getting away from something.

Daniel: Yeah, but I mean for you too. You started dating, uh, what’s his name, christopher?

Heather: Christopher, yes. And after we met, I started to envision a life for myself in portugal. And then that changed.

Daniel: Not for the best, I take it.

Heather: Uh, he started making demands. You know, wanted me to cut back on my workload. Not a good idea. Started thinking about having children, really pushing for things. I wasn’t ready for it and– and not sure if I ever want it.

Daniel: Hm. Well, I’m sorry to hear that. How did lucy take the break up?

Heather: She liked christopher, but I got the sense she always thought it was temporary. You know, and now seeing the turnaround that her father has made.

Daniel: Yeah, well, you know, everything I’ve done has been for her. Had one single goal in mind and that was to repair the damage that I’d done and be a part of her life again.

Heather: And lucy knows that. I have a feeling it’s kept her hope alive that there’s a way for the three of us to be a family again.

Billy: Look, I know that might come out of left field given the way that I’ve been acting lately, which is badly. I have not been very supportive of you working here at the company and I’ve taken that to an extreme lately and– and I regret that.

Diane: I appreciate you saying so.

Jack: Any particular reason you’re sharing this with us now?

Billy: Well, I’ve insisted that my motive was to always to protect the company and that is true. You know, I wanted to make sure that we were being smart and allow diane’s role here to evolve naturally.

Diane: Yeah, well, that’s reasonable. I wanted the same thing.

Jack: But something changed.

[ Billy sighs ]

Billy: I started to buy into the narrative that ashley and tucker have been pushing, that diane is not trustworthy and that given the opportunity, she would cause irreparable damage to jabot.

Diane: Which is why I wanted complete transparency so that nobody would think that jack was offering me a job that I wasn’t qualified for.

Jack: I– it wouldn’t have mattered what I said or did, ashley and tucker would not have been happy about it. They had it in for you.

Diane: Well, maybe that’s no longer true.

Jack: Apparently, they have accepted the fact that diane is not going anywhere.

Billy: Yeah. I don’t know. I can’t speak for them, but… you know, they played to my worst impulses. And I started to, you know, buy into the fact that I could run this thing on my own if they were able to get control of it.

Jack: Yeah, I was worried it was gonna turn into an all-out war.

Billy: Yeah, jack, to be honest, it was heading that direction. And, you know, I couldn’t sleep last night. All I could think about is that I was falling back into my old mindset and when I took this position, I swore to you that I wouldn’t let that happen.

Diane: Look, I shouldn’t have suggested that you pretend to go to the other side so you could find out what ashley and tucker were planning.

Jack: You know what, I’m the one who asked you to do that.

Billy: Well, we were able to mitigate the threat because we were working together, right? Until, you know, my worst impulses.

Diane: Yeah, but it sounds like you stopped them.

Billy: I shouldn’t have let it get as far as I did. And I’m not proud of that.

Jack: I am proud of you for admitting that. It can’t be easy. And in the past, you might have let things go a whole lot further.

Diane: Yeah, and billy, I’m relieved that you no longer see me as a threat to your family company or– or even your position in it. I– I just want what’s best for jack and jabot.

Billy: I agree with that 100%. And look, you two, you already went off and got married, so you’re a part of this crazy mess we call a family.

[ Diane laughs ]

Jack: Ooh, I like where this conversation is going. Can we continue this at the club, maybe over lunch, a little celebration? On me.

Billy: Oh, well, in that case, yes.

[ Diane laughs ]

Audra: How bad did things get with you and ashley?

Tucker: I think I’ve told you enough already.

Audra: You said it was more than an argument.

Tucker: Just let it go.

Audra: You know and you said that jack had his hooks deep into his sister. Is ashley gonna make up with jack? Bring all her assets back to jabot?

Tucker: Audra–

Audra: Hey, what about the plans you and ashley had to start your own–

Tucker: I said let it go! I don’t owe you any explanations.

Audra: You’re right. You know, my mistake for thinking that we might still be friends, you know, for actually caring enough to worry about you.

Tucker: Okay, I’m sorry, I’m sorry. God, you always do this to me. I don’t mean to take it out on you, it’s just– I got a lot in my head right now.

I have type 2 diabetes,

but I manage it well.

Daniel: You know, the three of us will always be a family, even if the two of us are not together.

Heather: That’s what I told lucy.

Daniel: I think that the important thing is we’re all in a good place now, and we can all show up for each other.

Heather: Mm-hmm. I think it might help lucy to hear it from you.

[ Daniel sighs ]

Daniel: Okay, well, I’ll try and find a place to subtly work it into one of our conversations.

Heather: Hmm. Subtlety being your strong suit.

[ Daniel scoffs ] All I’m saying is our daughter is extremely perceptive, so she will probably realize that we had this conversation and, uh, just be prepared.

Daniel: Well, that’s not necessarily a bad thing. I mean, for her to realize that we’re both in sync about this, yeah.

Heather: There’s something else that I think you should know. Um… I’m not sure that I want to go back to lisbon.

Daniel: Why? Because of christopher?

Heather: Things didn’t really work out the way I’d hoped. And, uh, that conversation with phyllis the other day really got me thinking about all of it.

Daniel: Okay. What are you gonna do?

Heather: I’m not sure. Uh, maybe look for a new practice that’s a good fit in savannah or here.

Daniel: Genoa city. That’s– that’s actually an option?

Heather: Well, it’s not just about me. It’s– it’s really about what’s best for lucy too. I mean, public schools are already in session, but she could still get into walnut grove this semester, which would be a very good thing. And having just repaired your relationship with your daughter I– I imagined that you probably want to spend some more time with her.

Daniel: Yeah, you’re right. I– I– I just– I think that you should maybe think about what’s best for you, too.

Heather: We’ll talk more about it, okay? Uh, right now I gotta go. I am meeting your mother.

Daniel: My mother. [ Laughs ] Why? I– I mean, I’m sorry, how– how did that come about?

Heather: She asked if I was free. Why do I feel like you have a problem with this?

Daniel: Because it’s my mother and she suddenly wants to be best friends with you.

Heather: Lately, we’ve been getting along.

Daniel: I– I can see that. Yeah, it’s just so cool. Um, you know, I just get this really funny feeling that she would like nothing more than to get the two of us back together.

Heather: Why would she want that?

Summer: You know, we were finally starting to make some real progress, so let’s not undo that by you telling me what I want and how I feel.

Phyllis: Okay, forget I said anything, forget it.

Summer: Okay, so what’s going on with you, mom? Are you still joining adam’s company? The one that he’s forming with dad and sharon?

Phyllis: No, I mean, it seems like that whole thing has fallen apart.

Summer: What did you do?

Phyllis: Why would you just assume that I did something? I didn’t do anything. It wasn’t me. It was actually adam. It started with, uh, him asking me to come on without clearing it with sharon and nick first and I guess they had enough of him and, um, the whole thing is sort of unraveling and falling apart.

Summer: Okay. So what are you gonna do now?

Phyllis: I’m okay. You know, I don’t have to make any decisions. I have options, but…

[ Phyllis sighs ] …You know, I’m just living my life. It’s on a positive track right now.

Summer: Okay, great. So, focus on that.

Phyllis: Mm-hmm.

Summer: Focus on your life.

Phyllis: Yes.

Summer: And staying on track.

Phyllis: Yes, I absolutely will.

Summer: Mm. Oh, god, I gotta get back to the office. I gotta catch up on everything that I missed while I was in milan.

Phyllis: Okay.

Summer: Can I give you a ride?

Phyllis: Oh, no, no, I’m actually meeting somebody here.

Summer: Who are you meeting?

Phyllis: Um, my attorney. Heather.

Summer: Mom. Really?

Diane: What’s he doing back?

Jack: And where is ashley?

Billy: Maybe we should find out.

Jack: Yeah. Back from paris so soon?

Tucker: Yeah, I missed you.

Jack: But you only just got there. Uh, wasn’t it your honeymoon?

Tucker: Wow. That’s so astute of you, jack. I was in a different place before and now I’m here.

Jack: But ashley isn’T. What happened? Why don’t you ask her yourself?

Billy: Hold on one second. What’s going on here? Why are you sitting here with him?

Jack: And not my sister, his bride, who’s apparently still in paris.

Audra: Uh, we just ran into each other.

Jack: Did he tell you what’s going on?

Audra: Oh, it’s really just not my place to say.

Diane: It looked like a pretty intense conversation.

Audra: Well, uh, tucker clearly isn’t interested in telling you about it, so if you will excuse me.

[ Billy chuckles ]

Jack: Ash, it’s jack. Uh– uh, give me a call when you can.

Billy: That was very strange.

Jack: Tucker was not very happy, was he?

Billy: No, maybe ashley made the same realization that I did about the family. Maybe this is not a fight that she wants to have.

Jack: Well, wouldn’t that be a blessing? Life, diabetes.

Daniel: Hey.

Summer: Hey.

Heather: Hey, summer.

Summer: Heather. Glad I’m getting to see you again before you head off to portugal. What?

Heather: It’s just that my plans are up in the air at the moment.

Daniel: Look, I’m glad that you’re here because I want to hear all about your trip to milan.

Heather: And I’ve got a run. I’ll let you two catch up and– and we’ll talk more later, okay?

Daniel: Sounds good.

[ Heather sighs ]

Summer: An espresso, please.

Daniel: You are never gonna guess where she’s headed.

Summer: To have lunch with mom. Yeah, I was just with her. That’s why I texted you that we needed to talk. Mom, I guess, is on a mission to prove that she’s changed to repair all the damage that she’s done. So, she is determined to save my marriage.

Daniel: Oh, it’s actually the least she could do. I mean, she is the reason why you’re getting divorced.

Summer: Yeah, but there’s nothing to fix, daniel. Kyle and I, we couldn’t work through what happened.

Daniel: Come on, you’re talking about it like you had normal relationship problems. It was mom. I mean, she basically coerced you to withholding the fact that she was still alive while diane sat in prison for her murder. I mean, she played on your emotions. She got you to lie to your husband, wh–

Summer: Yeah, but it’s not something that mom can fix.

Daniel: The fact that she wants to, it shows a level of awareness that I didn’t really think she was capable of anymore.

Summer: Okay. Careful what you wish for.

Daniel: What do you mean?

Summer: Pretty sure that mom wants to get you and heather back together too.

Daniel: I just got done telling heather that same thing.

Summer: Wait, really? I– I mean, what did she say?

Daniel: She asked why mom would want to do something like that. And honestly, I don’t really have a good answer either. I gue–

[ Daniel laughs ] Oh, oh, boy. Oh, you know what, this is typical mom. She wants to careen from one extreme to another. She just likes going in and blowing up situations and then rushing in to try and fix everything without, you know, asking anyone how they feel about it or what they need. I mean, unless is– is that what you want? Do you want her to try and fix your relationship with kyle?

Summer: No. No. I mean, it’s not gonna happen. What about you and heather?

Jack: Yeah, this could be a ploy, a misdirection. Tucker wants us to believe they’ve had some kind of falling out.

Billy: So we lower our guard.

Jack: As much as I want to get my hopes up that ashley has come to her senses.

Diane: No, tucker seemed clearly upset.

Jack: You’re the one that spent the most time with him lately. I mean, what do you think?

Billy: I mean, I noticed when we walked in, he didn’t seem happy.

Diane: So, what could have happened so that tucker came back to genoa city while ashley stays in paris.

Jack: Oh, I can think of any number of reasons. None of them good.

Billy: Look, maybe she came to her senses and she kicked him out.

Jack: Maybe he betrayed her. Maybe he hurt her. This is her honeymoon.

Diane: All right. Speculating gets us nowhere.

Billy: We need to focus on what tucker might do next.

Jack: There was definitely a bitterness in his voice when he told me to ask my questions to ashley. We all know how unpredictable, even dangerous, he can be when he’s pushed too hard.

Billy: Okay, well, hopefully ashley gets your message and we can find out what’s going on from her.

Diane: And in the meantime, we keep our eye on tucker and we communicate anything that comes up.

Jack: All right. All right.

Diane: And don’t drive yourself crazy imagining the worst, all right? Okay. I’ve got to get going.

Jack: Yeah. Uh, can you stay for a minute?

Billy: Yeah, sure.

Jack: Okay.

Diane: I’ll see you later.

Jack: See you later.

Diane: Bye, billy.

Billy: Bye. What’s up?

Jack: I wanna talk about you and everything you just said earlier. (Vo) ultimate endless shrimp is here

Jack: I just want to review our conversation. I like what you said. In fact, it was everything I wanted to hear.

Billy: And now you’re wondering if that was my intention. Did I tell you exactly what you wanted to hear?

Jack: Billy, one minute, you’re adamantly against diane, ready to take over the family company, the next–

Billy: Well, and that wasn’t easy to admit, jack.

Jack: I just want to know that things are okay with you and me.

Billy: I mean, I thought they were, and now I’m not sure if you accepted my apology.

Jack: Hey, I’m catching it from all sides here. Ashley’s marriage may have just imploded. She could be in hell right now. I would love to be there for her, but this could be some kind of tactical maneuver on her part. I hate this. I hate not trusting my family, not knowing who I can count on. Makes me wonder why I do this.

Billy: Well, we both know the answer to that. It’s dad. The thing that he spent his lifetime building. And for a long time, that responsibility has fallen on your shoulders. Our father’s legacy. But I’m here to tell you… it’s not just you anymore, okay? You don’t have to do that alone.

Jack: I want you to know, I have so enjoyed working side by side with you these past few months.

Billy: I agree. Me too.

Jack: And you have legitimate concerns.

Billy: You don’t have to go there, jack.

Jack: No, no. Wait. Let’s– let’s do, go there. I love and trust diane, but you’re right. I can’t just blindly give her power over the family company. I know that she knows that. She has said that all along.

Billy: No, you’re right. And you– look, I’m– I’m just getting stuck in my own stuff, right?

Jack: She– she just wants to know the family business. She wants to be part of things.

Billy: And I can support her there. Okay? I will help her along. I look forward to doing that.

Jack: I cannot tell you how happy it makes me hearing you say that.

[ Billy scoffs ]

Billy: Yeah, you can.

[ Jack laughs ]

Abby: Diane.

Diane: Oh, abby. Hi.

Abby: Hi. Um, you know, I just, um… I’ve been wanting to thank you for what you did, for helping my mom.

Diane: Oh, I just happened to be there and could see that she was really struggling.

Abby: Yeah, she was terrified. She thought she was choking to death.

Diane: I just did what anyone would do in that situation.

Abby: Well, you’re not just anyone. I mean, my mom basically put a target on your back and tried to undermine your relationship with my uncle jack.

Diane: I hate what went on between jack and your mom. I mean, they– they really love each other but, boy, can they fight?

Abby: Yes, I was shocked by how ugly it got.

Diane: Yeah. Well, things seem to be better. At least I hope so.

Abby: Yeah, I think it’s a good sign that my mom and tucker are in paris on their honeymoon. I think it means she’s letting go of all the anger and resentment. You don’t agree?

Tucker: I am at this very moment, the luckiest, happiest man in the world. To the most exquisite woman on the face of the earth.

Ashley: Mm. And, um… to the most, um…

Tucker: No, that’s right. That’s it. I’m– I’m the most.

Ashley: You are the most.

Tucker: I love you.

Ashley: I still can’t believe I’m saying this. I love you too.

[ Tucker sighs ]

Tucker: This is not the look of a woman on her honeymoon. What’s wrong?

Ashley: The truth?

Tucker: I would hope, always.

Ashley: I’ve been thinking about jack.

[ Tucker scoffs ]

Tucker: I’m surprised it took this long.

Ashley: I need to be able to talk to you about this stuff.

Tucker: Oh. You’re right. I’m sorry, jack, please.

Ashley: I know I’ve told you this before, but we had this huge fight years ago, jack and I. I mean, it was just this massive blowout.

Tucker: Hmm.

Ashley: Yeah. Uh, he came to paris to kind of smooth things over because I had left jabot and taken all my patents with me.

Tucker: Right. I remember reading something about it and you have told me bits and pieces.

Ashley: Yeah. Well, it’s not really about the patents. It’s just that, uh, well, we came to a place very similar to this and we just talked to each other, you know, like brother and sister. And I guess we both kind of realized that the blood that we shared was just stronger than the argument that had driven us apart.

Tucker: Hmm.

Ashley: Anyway, being here reminded me of that.

Tucker: I see. So, it was kind of like A… final purge? A catharsis? And now it’s out of your system and now we can… enjoy this beautiful city of light and love and our honeymoon? I don’t like that look in your eyes. Tide is busting laundry’s biggest myth…

Abby: I take it you don’t share my optimism.

Diane: No. No. I– I– I did see it as a good sign that tucker and ashley went away on their honeymoon.

Abby: Okay. What’s changed?

Diane: I just saw tucker at the athletic club.

Abby: Wait, they’re back?

Diane: No, no. Tucker’s back alone. I guess your mom stayed in paris.

Abby: But what happened?

Diane: Well, I– I’m not sure, but tucker didn’t look very happy. But like I told jack, there is no point in speculating until he talks to ashley. It could be nothing.

Abby: I hope you’re right. Uh, thank you.

Diane: Of course. Bye.

[ Sighs ]

Abby: Mom. Hi. I heard tucker’s back and you’re not? What’s going on?

Daniel: Lily and I are happy. Things are good.

Summer: You worked really hard to get to that place. You’re back in lucy’s life. You managed to repair your relationship with her. So, I mean, is there any part of you that wants to do that with heather too?

Daniel: All I want is to be able to be friends with her. You know, for us to like each other and be able to co-parent lucy.

Summer: Then, you and i have a really big problem because mom has it in her head that this is the way to reconnect with us. By fixing our lives. I mean, that’s definitely why she’s being so chummy with heather.

[ Daniel exhales sharply ]

Daniel: We gotta stop her.

Summer: Before she makes things worse.

Tucker: Hi. Just got a to go order.

Phillys: Tucker, I thought you were on your honeymoon.

Tucker: Good for you.

Heather: Hey.

Phillys: Hey.

Tucker: Hey, heather. Nice to see you.

Heather: It’s been a while, tucker. You’re well, I hope.

Tucker: Uh. So are you, uh, staying in genoa city?

Heather: I’m still considering my options.

Tucker: Hm. Well, consider this option. If you do decide to stay, I’m gonna need a good attorney.

Jack: I am so grateful you are willing to share your institutional knowledge with diane. She will be very grateful too.

Billy: Well, I should have been doing it a long time ago. Again, I’m sorry that, uh, things went sideways.

Jack: I got you back in my corner again. That’s what’s important. I’m only looking forward now.

Billy: Me too.

THIS STILL NEEDS SOME EDITING!

Kristina: Is that so, Violet?

Violet: Aunt Elizabeth and daddy beat Kelly’s.

Well, no, to be clear, the G.H. team beat the Kelly’s team.

Ooh! Carly’s going to be mad.

21 to 4.

Oh, heads will roll.

PC!

PD!

PC!

PD!

PC!

PD!

[ Both laugh ]

All hail the conquering heroes.

Am I to assume this means you won, also?

Well, it was tough, but we pulled it through, yeah.

Wow. Well, well, well. I guess it wasn’t the bloodbath G.H. inflicted on Kelly’s?

G.H. did sort of wipe the floor with them.

Oh, coming from the nurse.

Head cheerleader. But I am going to play the next game.

And you’d better, too. The fire department would have wiped the floor with us if your sister didn’t step up for your brother.

Guilty as charged.

Sounds like “Game of Thrones.”

Hey, what do you say we, uh, get this party started?

Drinks on Chase?

Whoa. I’m just kidding.

Oh.

Kristina: No, actually, this is — this is the perfect time for that. Drinks on the house. First round is on me.

Aww, thank you, Kristina.

Kristina: Yeah. Charlie’s supports the winners.

Whoo!

Dante: Hey, what’s going on? So did we win?

Sam: Oh, we won, alright. And you had nothing to do with it.

Dante: I don’t know about that. Looks like I had lots to do with it.

Nina: So what do you think? Good to be home?

Sonny: It’s good to be home with you.

Nurse Janice: And that’s when he assaulted the doctor and took his clothes. He was already on his way out with the patient when I realized who he was. I initiated lockdown protocol, but it was already too late. They were gone.

Detective: Okay. And what were the patients’ names?

Nurse Janice: Sasha Gilmore and Cody Bell.

Cody: Hey, Sasha. Hey, stay with me. Stay with me. You’re doing great. You’re doing great. We’re almost there. Okay, Sam. Let’s see if I can find this key in the wood pile. Here. Can you hold yourself up?

Sasha: Mm-hmm.

Cody: Alright. Bingo. Okay. Come here. Hey. I got you. I got you. Here, come on. Alright? Hey. We made it. [ Chuckles ]

Oh then you take me by the hand I feel better again oh I feel better now

Shirley Temple for the victorious Violet and seltzers for the champions.

Finn: Oh, thank you, but champions may be a bit of an overstatement.

Elizabeth: Oh, don’t be so modest, Finn.

Violet: Don’t be sad, Daddy. Everyone strikes out sometimes.

Finn: Thank you, Violet. You know, but hitting is just part of the game, right? There’s also the defense, the — the catch I made at the fence and saved that home run.

And another part of the game is running. Too bad you got tagged out at second.

Finn: Mm-hmm. But at least I made it to first, right? You know, we can’t all be speed demons on the bases like you.

Violet: Yeah, how did you get so good?

Elizabeth: Hmm? Well, I do have three boys. It’s a lot of backyard practice, especially with Jake. Talk about a speed demon. Where is he?

Violet: Jake never showed up to the game.

I’ll be back.

Willow: Your sister is so sweet.

Michael: Well, she cares about you.

Willow: I just wish everyone wouldn’t worry so much. I mean, my numbers are great. They’re holding steady.

Michael: I cannot hear that enough. You know, you’re my miracle, Willow, in so many ways.

Willow: Well, it was nice to be just another person shouting, cheering in the bleachers today, watching the G.H. team beat the pants off Kelly’s. It was so much fun. It felt so normal. It had nothing to do with my illness. I was just glad to forget about being sick for a while.

Michael: I’m glad. I just wish I was there to share it with you.

Willow: Well, you had somewhere much more important to be.

Yeah. Beers all around. Thank you. Okay, so what are we drinking to, our win or Sonny beating the rap?

To Sonny.

To Sonny.

To Sonny.

To Sonny, then.

No? You’re not —

Kristina: I’m working.

Sonny: You okay?

Nina: I’m really flattered that you’re asking about me, Sonny, but I’m not the one that was dragged from The Metro Court by the FBI and in custody for 72 hours.

Sonny: Worst part for me was getting arrested. Seeing Kristina and Wiley’s face, they were upset. And then I saw your face, and it wasn’t good.

Nina: No, it wasn’t. I was scared to death.

Sonny: Okay.

Nina: You know, those agents, they came in there, and they looked so confident. And I couldn’t help but think that you were going to be convicted and spend the rest of your life in prison.

Sonny: Nina, let’s not go down that road.

Nina: I-I can’t help it, because if you would have been found guilty, we would have already had our last day together and not known it.

Sonny: I’m sorry that I scared you.

Nina: Babe, you don’t have to be sorry. It wasn’t you. It was the FBI.

Sonny: [ Sighs ] Maybe, but maybe not — not entirely.

Nina: What do you mean?

Sonny: Well, uh, I couldn’t tell you until now. There was no chance that I was going to be convicted.

Nurse Janice: The nurse on duty was new. She thought one of the physicians was just taking out her patient for some fresh air.

Gladys: I’m sorry. Did you just say Cody Bell kidnapped Sasha?

And you are?

Gladys: I’m Sasha Gilmore’s mother-in-law. My name is Gladys Corbin. I’m her guardian.

Nurse Janice: Ms. Corbin, I —

Gladys: How could you let this happen? My daughter-in-law is so vulnerable. How could you let Cody take her?!

Nurse Janice: We didn’t let him take her. They just got away before we could get to them.

Gladys: Whoa, whoa, whoa. No, not they. He. He kidnapped her!

Nurse Janice: Sasha was leaning against Mr. Bell. She didn’t seem to be struggling with him. I don’t know if he was kidnapping her or if they were escaping together.

Cody: Sasha. What have they done to you? Hey. Hey, Sasha. Hey, stay with me. Hey, come here. Let’s get you up. Come on. Hey, listen to me. Hey, that Sam, she really pulled through for us, right? Car was exact– no, no, no, no, no. You got to stay awake, Sasha. Okay? You think you could drink a little something?

Sasha: No. No, I don’t want —

Cody: Look, hey, it’s just —

Sasha: Don’t make me take it.

Cody: It’s just a little water. That’s all it is.

Sasha: No! Get away.

Cody: Sasha — Sasha, hey. I’m just trying to help, okay? You need to hydrate.

Sasha: No! No! Get away!

Cody: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, be careful. Be careful, Sasha.

Sasha: No! Please don’t hurt me!

Cody: I’m not trying to hurt you. I’m not trying to hurt you.

Sasha: No! Stay away!

Cody: Sasha, Sasha, you’re safe. I promise. You have to believe me.

I got to say, that was a-a first for me. I’ve never seen an arraignment happen that fast.

Kristina: Oh, my god. I know. I was so worried when the judge said, “Michael Corinthos, Jr., you are charged with seven counts of violating the federal law.” I thought my heart was going to just beat through my chest. And then the FBI lawyers just stood up like it was no big deal and dropped the charges.

Chase: Well, they withdrew the charges at this time without prejudice. Which means they can refile the charges at any point in the future.

Well, there can’t be much of a case if they folded immediately.

The most important thing is Dad is home, but not without having to jump through hoops.

Kristina: I-I feel like we should sue them for what they put our family through. I mean, honestly, isn’t there a law against harassing the public while making a false arrest? There should be.

I think we should just be glad it’s over.

Yeah. Amen to that. I’ll be back.

Chase: You know, it is odd the FBI would make such a public arrest if they weren’t certain about the evidence. Something doesn’t add up.

Willow: Michael, it’s behind us now. That’s good news.

Michael: I was so worried that the FBI somehow found the footage of Sonny taking that delivery from Pikeman.

Willow: But they didn’t.

Michael: But they could have, and that would have been on me.

Willow: Stop beating yourself up. You chose not to turn over the evidence.

Michael: Yeah, well, you know, I still paid Dex to get it, to spy on Sonny and record his business dealings. I wanted to take my father down. I’m so grateful that you convinced me not to go through with it. I mean, could you imagine if I used that footage to get Sonny convicted? How would I ever face my family again? I let my self-righteous anger take over.

Willow: Michael, you felt betrayed by Sonny. I don’t like what you did, but it didn’t come out of nowhere.

Michael: Willow, I — I don’t want my father to go to prison.

Elizabeth: You know, Jake did text me after the game and said he was detained and that’s why he couldn’t make it. But he’ll meet us here later.

Violet: What’s “detained”?

Elizabeth: Um, it’s when something suddenly comes up, and it makes you late.

Finn: Mm. Look, there he is!

Violet: And Charlotte’s with him!

Finn: Hmm. Guess we know what detained him.

Nina: Well, Sonny, what are you saying to me? I mean, what made you think that you wouldn’t be convicted? I mean, I’m pretty sure that some of your business dealings aren’t strictly legal. So what made you think that the FBI wouldn’t be able to make a case?

Sonny: You know the — the raid on the docks?

[ Sighs ]

Sonny: As I was being hauled in, uh, the FBI were seizing a shipment that I was moving through. They busted a lot of my men, including Gabe. And what they thought they were going to find was contraband weapons. And what they found was a shipment of shade-grown Costa Rican coffee beans.

Nina: Coffee beans?

Sonny: The finest.

Nina: So the FBI, they — they go to the docks, and they expect to find contraband weapons, and they find coffee beans?

Sonny: Mm.

Nina: I’m surprised that the FBI would make such a big mistake.

Sonny: Well, I’m sure s-somebody must have given them bad information.

Nina: Well, who gave them the bad information, Sonny?

Sonny: Somebody who thought it was legit.

Nina: Are you saying to me that you set up the FBI?

Sasha: No, no. No. No! Dr. Montague!

Cody: No, no, no, no, no. It’s Cody. Cody.

Sasha: Please, please don’t hurt me!

Cody: Sasha, Sasha, I’m not going to hurt you. I’m not Montague, okay? I’m Cody. Look at me.

Sasha: Cody. Cody.

Cody: Yeah, I’m here. It’s me.

Sasha: What? Where are we?

Cody: We’re safe. Remember?

Sasha: We were at the hospital.

Cody: Here. Come here.

Sasha: [ Groans ]

Cody: The doctor walked in right as we were getting ready to go. But we got away. And don’t worry. Hey. He’s never going to hurt you again. No one’s ever going to touch you ever again. That’s a promise. But right now, Sasha, you got to take a sip of water, please.

Sasha: No. No, I can’t.

Cody: Yes. Look, whatever Montague pumped into you, it’s starting to fade, and you need to drink something.

Sasha: No, no, please, please.

Cody: Okay, you’re going through withdrawals.

Sasha: No. No, it hurts. It hurts.

Cody: I know. Look, I know — I know that it hurts. You’re going to have to push through that, though.

Sasha: No, it’s too much. It’s too much!

Cody: Hey, don’t let Montague’s poison win. Sasha, you’re going through detox right now. You have to sip some of this water, please.

Sasha: No! No, I can’t, Cody! I can’t!

Cody: Yes, you can. I am right here. I am with you. You can do this.

Sasha: No! I can’t.

Cody: Listen to me. Focus. Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. The pain, okay, it’s going to ease. But right now, you have to fight to live.

Sasha: I — I don’t want to fight anymore!

Cody: Yeah, well, you have to! If you’re not going to do it for yourself, you do it for Brando! You do it for Liam!

Hey, there.

Hey.

Jake:Sorry I missed the game.

That’s okay. We missed you. But despite your absence, we still won.

Violet: Charlotte, you look so pretty.

Charlotte: Thank you, Violet.

Violet: Is that why you didn’t come to the game, Jake? Were you with Charlotte?

We were at Kelly’s.

Violet: Were you on a date?

Kristina: Dante, I think it’s really cool you showed up for Dad today despite being a cop. Not that I would expect anything less.

Dante: Oh, well, thank you, Kristina. I mean, look, Sonny’s my father. Cop or no cop, there’s nowhere else I would have been.

Chase: No, Kris is right. You took a risk to stand by Sonny. I mean, I’d like to think that if my dad was going through something, I’d stand by him the same way.

Michael: Uh, Willow? Um… would you be okay being alone for like an hour or so here?

Willow: Absolutely. I think I can handle that.

Michael: Okay. There’s something I got to take care of.

Willow: Hello, little man. I just called because I missed you. I’m so glad you liked the game. Well, someday that will be you sliding into home base. Whatever team you want to be on. That’s for you to decide. I know, um, Olivia told you about Grandpa Sonny’s trial. Yes, Daddy was very happy. We’ll see you soon, okay? I love you, too, Wiley.

Why don’t you guys go get some sodas or nachos if you’re hungry?

I’m not sure I could eat any more. But we could definitely use some sodas.

Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah.

Violet: Wait, wait, where are you going? I want to hear about the date.

Finn: Yeah, look, uh, hey, wouldn’t you rather go talk to your Uncle Chase? You — you could tell him about my spectacular catch.

Violet: Daddy, it wasn’t that spectacular.

Finn: Thank you. So, Jake and Charlotte Cassadine?

Elizabeth: It’s the first I’m hearing about it.

Finn: I guess at least now you — you know the stuff he needed to do.

Elizabeth: Stop it. They’re awfully young.

Finn: Hey, you know, it kind of looks like they’re on the slow boat. I wouldn’t worry about it getting too heavy.

Elizabeth: Oh, is that what you’re going to say when Violet’s Jake’s age?

Finn: Oh, I-I can’t imagine Violet’s first date.

Elizabeth: Mm-hmm, imagine it, ’cause it’s going to happen sooner or later.

Finn: Later. Much, much later.

Chase: You know, Sam is the real hero for the PCPD team. Without her, we would have completely been left in the dust.

Violet: Just like Aunt Elizabeth.

Finn: [ Sighs ] Time goes by so fast. I mean, I’m — I’m looking at Chase over there, and he — he doesn’t know about Dad. And I’m glad, you know? Give him an extra moment to be happy.

Elizabeth: You should do the same. Look at all the joy around us. And don’t you want to bask in your spectacular catch as long as you can?

Finn: [ Chuckles ]

Sasha: What do you know about Brando and Liam? You’ve got no right to use them against me!

Cody: Hey, hey, hey, I know that you love them. I know that their memories mean something to you. I know you’d want to honor them instead of disgracing their memories like this.

Sasha: How dare you?!

Cody: I also know that they would want you to fight. You are so strong. Think about all that you’ve survived, Sasha. And you need to stay strong in order to get through this.

Sasha: He — he said that I was strong, too.

Cody: Yeah, well, he was right. He was strong.

Sasha: And what did that get him, hmm? Every person I have ever loved, Brando, Liam, they’re gone. Gone, Cody. I barely even remember my mother. My — my grandmother showed me pictures, and I know the facts and the dates, but — but it’s — it’s just another story. Everyone fades. I look around, and I don’t — I don’t even know where I belong anymore. I wouldn’t even have come to Port Charles if it wasn’t to get the money for my grandmother. There’s nothing left for me here.

Cody: There are people here that love you, Sasha. You live for them.

Sasha: Who, Cody? I have nobody left.

Cody: You have me.

Sonny: I didn’t plan to set the FBI up. That just happened. The target was someone else.

Nina: Someone else?

Sonny: I knew they were digging around. They were asking questions, and they weren’t going to stop. So I let them steal what they thought they were going to find.

Nina: But it’s not what they really wanted?

Sonny: Nope. And they didn’t know that. I had, uh, Brick dummy up something that seemed real. That’s what they gave to the FBI.

Nina: I don’t suppose you’re going to tell me who this “someone else” is?

Sonny: I don’t know who that someone else is, but I’m going to find out. See, that was the first plan, was to just smoke them out, see what they thought of the phony intel. Now, it was a risk because if they came sniffing around, there was a chance that I would be in custody. But that was a chance I was willing to take.

Nina: Oh, Sonny, Krissy and Wiley —

Sonny: I wish I could have told you this before, and I didn’t want to do it, but —

Nina: No, I get it. I really do.

Sonny: You know, I would have just — but I can’t tell you I can’t do it again.

Nina: I understand.

Sonny: It’s the reality of my life.

Nina: Okay. Stop torturing yourself, because I knew what I was getting into, the good and the bad, when you asked me to marry you. And I love you. I love all of you. There are no regrets. Do you hear me? Absolutely no regrets. I’m ready to share your life with you and all of its complications. And if there’s anything that I worry about, it’s a small price to pay for the happiness that I feel being with you.

[ Knock on door ]

Sonny: [ Laughs ] What?

Gabe: Your son’s here to see you.

Sonny: Let him in. I-I thought Dante was meeting with Sam.

Michael: Hey, Dad.

Nina: Come in, please, Michael. Can I get you anything?

Sonny: Hey, Michael.

Michael: Hey. Um, no, no, no. I’m fine. I didn’t — I didn’t get a chance to talk to you in the courtroom.

Sonny: That’s okay. I mean, I didn’t expect you to.

Michael: Um, look, I just wanted to tell you how happy I am that the charges were dropped against you, and that you weren’t alone in the courtroom, that you had a lot of — you had a lot of support.

Nina: Well, that support included you, Michael, and we were both very grateful for that.

[ Cellphone chimes ]

Nina: I-I, um, just remembered something that I was supposed to do, if you both will excuse me.

Sonny: Okay.

Michael: She, uh, got out of here pretty quick.

Sonny: She probably wanted to give us some time alone.

Probably.

I’m glad. There’s, um — there’s something I need to tell you.

Kristina: Save you a trip.

Dante: Thank you.

Kristina: Oh, man. Dante, I am so relieved about Dad. Everyone really rallied around him. Even Michael came. Thought I was going to cry when Dad saw him. The look on his face —

Dante: Yeah, look, Michael loves Sonny, despite what he says sometimes.

Kristina: Well, we weren’t too sure about that when we showed up at his office accusing him of the arrest.

Dante: I know. I went in there a little fired up, but, uh, you know, I guess I was wrong.

Kristina: Yeah.

Dante: Thankfully, now we can just focus on mending our family.

Kristina: I know that’s what Nina wants.

Dante: Yeah, I’m not the one you have to convince, remember?

Kristina: Yeah. I think, though, Michael is going to see how good Nina is for Dad after all of this. She brought me back from the edge a couple of times. She had it all together. I don’t know how, but she just pulled through. Maybe this is going to be a good omen for them. Like, now they can finally just be happy together.

You slacking on your softball, Finn? Violet tipped me off.

Yeah, well, we didn’t have a whole lot of time this year for spring training.

You seemed to hold your own pretty well.

Okay, just wait till the PCPD plays G.H.

Oh, trust me, I am counting down the days.

[ Cellphone ringing ]

Chase: I bet. Oh, it’s work. This is Detective Harrison Chase.

Violet: Jake missed the game, and then he showed up here with Charlotte. I think they’re on a date.

Willow: Are you sure it’s a date?

Violet: That’s what I wanted to ask, but Daddy sent me over here. I humored him, but now I’m going to go find out everything I can.

Willow: Oh, Violet, I’m not sure that’s such a good idea. You know, when two people are on a date, especially if it might be a first date, it’s probably best not to bug them.

Violet: Why?

Hey, what’s going on?

Chase: That was dispatch. There’s an APB out on two patients who escaped Ferncliff. Sasha Gilmore and Cody bell.

Cody: Thanks for trying to drink a little. It will get better. How are you feeling?

Sasha: Not good.

Cody: Do you think you could try drinking just a little bit more?

Sasha: [ Sighs ] Hey. Why are you here? Everybody else has left me, but not you.

Cody: Yeah, no. And I’m not planning on leaving you. As long as you keep fighting, I’ll be right here alongside you.

Nina: Gladys, so what is going on? What’s the emergency? Did something happen to Sasha?

Gladys: Sasha’s been kidnapped.

Michael: After the judge dismissed the charges. It was, uh, just too much for me.

Sonny: Too much?

Michael: Yeah. Too many thoughts swirling in my head. I-I don’t even know what I was thinking. It was like, I don’t know, I was at war with myself. Uh… I had to get out of there, so I’m sorry.

Sonny: Sorry? You don’t have to be sorry for anything. I mean, I — the fact that you were there meant everything to me. I — actually, I didn’t — I didn’t expect it.

Michael: No, I know. And that’s the worst part.

Are you sad you missed the game?

No. Are you? I mean, did you want to go?

Charlotte: No, I’ll catch the next one.

Jake: You want to grab another soda?

Charlotte: No, but I want to hear more about your drawing. I’m not much of an artist, but I like to write, and I was thinking it’d be cool to do a graphic novel. Maybe you could do some of the drawings, and I could write the story?

Jake: Yeah, I-I could do that.

Charlotte: Okay, but it can’t be lame like every other superhero thing.

Jake: No.

Charlotte: I was looking at these cool cards the other day, and I was thinking it’d be amazing to do a middle ages theme.

Jake: That could work.

Willow: You know how sometimes you don’t want the boys around when you’re playing dress-up or doing something very girly?

Violet: No, I don’t mind the boys being around.

Willow: Well, sometimes people can…get shy. You know, what if — what if Jake and Charlotte feel that way? I think it’s best to respect their privacy.

Violet: If Jake and Charlotte wanted to be private, why did they come to a restaurant?

Elizabeth: Poor Willow. Look at that glazed-over look on her face. When Violet starts asking questions, there’s no stopping her.

Finn: Yeah, no, I mean, maybe it’s better her talking to Willow than critiquing my softball performance.

Elizabeth: Oh, come on. You love it.

Finn: Yeah, I do.

Elizabeth: You know, when you let yourself have fun, you’re actually pretty good at it.

Sam: Why did we have to leave Charlie’s so quickly?

Dante: Well, the station called Chase. They put out an APB. Cody and Sasha broke out of Ferncliff. But you knew that was going to happen. Didn’t you?

Sasha: I stabbed you, and still, you’re here. Why would you help me after I hurt you?

Cody: That wasn’t you, Sasha. It was the drugs. I mean, you thought I was Cyrus Renault. It was a hallucination.

Sasha: Where are we?

Cody: Uh, someplace that Sam found for us. She helped me get in to see you. She arranged for a car and this cabin so we’d have a safe place to come after I broke you out of Ferncliff. Hey, hey, hey, hey. It’s okay. Okay? You’re safe now. You’re free. You’re free from everything that Dr. Montague did to you. And, Sasha, I promise you will never have to go through anything like that again.

Sasha: Cody, I —

Cody: Yeah, hey. No, I get it. Right now, you need your rest. You think you can sleep? Okay. I’ll be right here by your side the whole time. No one’s going to hurt you, not while I’m here. I promise.

Nina: Sasha was kidnapped? What are you talking about?

Gladys: Okay, okay. I went out to Ferncliff to check on her release, fill out any paperwork, and — and smooth the way to bring her home. And —

Nina: And what happened?

Gladys: Okay, as I drove in, I saw a cop car. And then I got up to Sasha’s floor, and a nurse is giving a statement… saying that Sasha was kidnapped by Cody Bell.

Violet: [ Sighs ] Bye, Willow.

Willow: Bye.

Kristina: A refill.

Willow: Thank you.

Kristina: Yeah.

Willow: I, uh — I also wanted to tell you how relieved I am that the charges against Sonny were dropped.

Kristina: Yeah, well, you have no idea. I’m so relieved. I have been pretty wound up about it the last few days, but it feels like a weight has finally lifted, and I can breathe again.

Willow: It was so horrible, seeing those agents storm in and surround Sonny like that.

Kristina: Yeah, I-I didn’t know what to do.

Willow: Well, you sure seemed to know. You got right up in their faces.

Kristina: Yeah, something kind of, uh, took over. It’s crazy. They were there, about to just grab my dad, and I-I just wanted to do anything I could to protect him. I-I just wanted it to stop. And thank god Michael was there. I — where is my brother?

Willow: Uh, Michael had to leave for a little bit.

Kristina: Oh.

Sonny: What do you mean when you said that that was the worst part?

Micheal: Sonny… Dad. The fact that things have gotten so bad between us that you wouldn’t even expect that I’d show up at your trial? You know, it’s like — it’s like I’ve been walking this — this path, and suddenly, I don’t recognize my own footprints.

Sonny: You have every right to feel the way you want to feel. I know that I’ve let you down.

Micheal: Yeah, well, that’s just it. People let people down. It doesn’t mean you have to destroy them.

Sonny: Why you talking about destroying people? That’s not like you, to be talking about —

Micheal: Not — not destroying people, Dad. Destroying you. I was furious with you. Ever since I was little… …I always knew there was something different about us. Whenever things got dangerous, you sent us to the island. We had no idea what the danger was or why it would suddenly appear. Just that you and Mom were worried. So, uh, I mean, Morgan and I, we just created games, and we created stories. Like one time, we pretended that the island was Never Never Land, and we were there because Captain Hook was coming. So we we had our swords, and we ran around the cove, and we pretended to be your guards.

Sonny: Yeah, I, uh — Morgan had a sword named Spiker. Remember that?

Micheal: Yeah. Yeah. He wanted to sleep with it. Mom wouldn’t let him. She said the best place for swords were next to the bed. Not in the bed. I think we always knew why there were real guards around us all the time. Certainly by high school, I knew that Corinthos Coffee wasn’t your only business. And by then, I also knew that one of the threats was the police. And I saw you escape the law time and time again.

Sonny: Michael… what did you come here to tell me?

Dante: Apparently, Cody jumped a doctor, stole his clothes, grabbed Sasha, and they got out of there before they locked the place down.

Sam: Oh, my god.

Dante: Then, get this. When they got out of the building, they didn’t escape on foot. There was a car waiting for them with the keys still in it. [ Groans, chuckles ] Hey, babe, when you plan a breakout, you plan a breakout.

Sam: What do you want me to say?

Dante: Nothing, I guess. I just hope everything works out and Cody and Sasha are safe.

Kristina: Michael had to leave for a little while? Where’d he go?

Willow: He said he had an errand to run.

Kristina: An errand, hmm, at this hour?

Willow: I think I have an idea what it was. And if I’m right, it’s long overdue.

Micheal: Look, there were times that I found myself wishing that you would be prosecuted and convicted. And I would tell myself that it was about justice. But, uh —  [ Breathes shakily ] Really, it was about making you pay for our family falling apart.

Sonny: I understand.

Micheal: No, no, Dad, you don’t. You couldn’t possibly. Dad, I — I found myself standing there in the courtroom and realizing that the last thing I want is for you to be sent to prison, you know, for Kristina, for Dante, for the girls, but also because you’re my father. And I don’t want you behind bars. I-I don’t want you to suffer. And I don’t want to be angry at you anymore. It’s exhausting. This — this resentment that I’ve been holding onto, it’s like… it’s turning me into somebody who I don’t want to be, especially with my family. The family that I almost lost. [ Sighs ] That’s all I wanted to say, okay, just — just tell you that I’m very happy that you beat the charges.

Sonny: Michael? You didn’t have to say a-all that. I appreciate it. It means a lot. I just want you to know… …no matter what, you’re my son. I love you.

Micheal: Yeah. Love you, too.

Nina: Why would Cody Bell, of all people, kidnap Sasha?

Gladys: Well, he’s tried it once before. I mean, probably to get revenge for her stabbing him. I had to file for a restraining order to stop him.

Nina: How come this is the first of me hearing this?

Gladys: Because I took care of everything to protect Sasha from Cody. But he lied his way into Ferncliff, pretended to be a patient.

Nina: How could he pretend to be a patient at Ferncliff?

Gladys: I-I don’t know. That’s what the nurse told the cops. She said Cody grabbed Sasha and ran out with her.

Nina: Okay, you told me that Sasha, she was trapped in Ferncliff. Right? You told me that her doctor was keeping her there. You had to pay ransom to get her out. How do you know she didn’t just leave with Cody willingly? I mean, maybe Cody went there not to kidnap her for revenge, but to rescue her.

Gladys: No, no, no. No, Cody is a thief and a liar. All he cares about is money. I think he was working with the doctor, following his orders when he took Sasha.

Nina: What?

Gladys: Yeah. Now Sasha’s in more danger than ever.

Brooke: Eric, this is amazing that you two are working together and that you got my son interested in design, but I don’t understand the secrecy. Why are you working here when you could be working at the office?

Eric: Brooke, I’m determined to go through with my final collection and this is the way I wanna do it. No one’s gonna stop me. Not even Ridge.

Thomas: You know, I gotta say, your eye, the detail, it’s inspiring.

Ridge: Well, I learned from my dad. And now, you get to learn from me.

Carter: Thank you, Mr. Lombardi. Yes, sales got your pre-order for Ridge’s new couture collection. We appreciate it very much. Yes, I understand your desire for an exclusivity clause. Look, if you’re serious, I need you to increase the offer threefold before I bring it to my team.

[ Quietly ] Yes! That’s great. Yeah, we’ll be in touch. It’s always a pleasure. Ciao.

Katie: Ciao? Ciao? Oh, I love it when you talk business. It’s so sexy. Ridge’s latest collection. Have you seen any of the designs?

Carter: Got a peek at a few.

Katie: Ooh. So have I. I’m kinda blown away. I think this might be his finest collection yet.

Ridge: Well, that works great.

Petra: Sloan and I agree. This collection, you seem more inspired than ever. Could it be because you and Brooke have reunited?

Sloan: Is that your secret, Ridge?

Ridge: All right. Thank you for your work today, ladies.

Thomas: I gotta say, they’re right. You know, I haven’t seen you this motivated or inspired in a while.

Ridge: Well, Brooke has that effect on me.

Brooke: RJ, when your father finds out you’re designing, he’ll be beside himself. But Eric, I don’t understand any of this. What is all this talk about a big, solo collection and Ridge not stopping you?

Eric: I’m determined, Brooke. I’m gonna do this. I have one last collection in me and I’m gonna do it with my grandson. You know, I miss this. I miss… I miss all of this. You know, I need it. The times when I go into the office and I think people don’t see me at all. They don’t see me at all for who– for who I am. And I will not be shelved. Certainly not by my own son.

Katie: Well, I’m not surprised that Ridge is completely on point and it’s a good thing. Couture has always been the backbone of Forrester Creations.

Carter: Yeah. I mean, Hope For The Future, you know…

Katie: Yeah, but we can’t abandon what Forrester Creations has been built on and that’s couture.

Carter: Mm. And all because of Eric. I mean, couture is a reflection of his creativity, his design sensibilities. I can’t imagine this place without him.

Katie: Sure, yeah, I mean, I agree with that, but the passing of the baton has been going on for a while now. I was talking to Brooke and she seems to think that Ridge feels like Eric should take a step back. You know, enjoy his time with Donna.

Carter: Really?

Katie: Mm-hmm.

Carter: He didn’t– he didn’t say that to me. I can’t imagine Eric retiring anytime soon.

Thomas: Seems your muse is working. Petra and the models see it. We all do. And, uh, I gotta say, if what you’re saying is true, that it’s being back together with Brooke that’s creating all of this, well then, I’m all for it and it’s good to know that Forrester’s in great hands.

Ridge: Well, I’m not sure your grandfather agrees.

Thomas: Uh, why would he not?

Ridge: I know he’s proud of me and that means a lot.

Thomas: Well, I can relate to that.

Ridge: But things have been, um… a little complicated.

Thomas: Complicated how?

Ridge: Well, I think your grandfather thinks I wanna push him out of the company.

Eric: Now, Brooke, I thought that Ridge would have opened up to you about this. I mean, since you’re back together again.

Brooke: Opened up about what?

Eric: All of this. The way he’s been talking to me. How he feels about me these days. He’s been talking down to me, he’s been insulting me. Even arrogant. And he’s treating me like some dinosaur.

Brooke: No, Eric, that is not true. You know Ridge. He loves you. He looks up to you. He admires you. Yes, he does. He’s concerned about you. You’ve been working long and hard at this company for so many years. It’s time for you just to relax. Maybe you could just take some time off, take it easy, enjoy yourself, spend some time with Donna. Donna would like that, right, honey?

Donna: I… I want what Eric wants.

Brooke: Okay.

Donna: And right now, that is to create his final collection.

Brooke: Well, I don’t have a problem with that and I appreciate the fact that you brought RJ in on this and RJ, you are learning from the best. That’s for sure. And Eric, why the secrecy? Why? Why leave Ridge out of this? You two have worked together for so long.

Eric: I don’t want him to do it with me. I don’t want that. Now, I know there’s gonna come a time when it’s appropriate for me to… to stop and to give up the reins to somebody else, but not now. Not now. I have one good collection left in me and here it is and I’m gonna do it. It’s gonna be the best collection of my life. It’s mine, nobody else’s. It’s mine.

Carter: Eric’s still a vital, creative part of Forrester Creations.

Katie: Yeah, of course, but I don’t know, maybe Brooke is right. Eric should step away from all that responsibility and just enjoy himself.

Carter: That sounds like retirement to me and that’s the furthest thing from Eric’s mind. No, no, no. Plus, we still need him here.

Katie: Okay, you’re right, but playing devil’s advocate, Eric can’t go on designing forever and there’s a whole generation of Forresters waiting in the wings. You know, you’ve got Ridge, of course, and then Thomas, Steffy, Zende, maybe even RJ. I just– I hope they have a very comprehensive succession plan in place. I mean, not just for the sake of the company, but for Eric and Ridge’s relationship as father and son.

Thomas: No, Dad. I actually have a hard time thinking that Granddad would ever believe you’re trying to make him obsolete.

Ridge: I have a hard time with that too, son, but, um, we’ve just had some strange exchanges lately.

Thomas: Okay, like, creative differences? You didn’t start arguing?

Ridge: No. It’s not even that. It’s not even creative ’cause we don’t work together. It’s been years since we worked together. Maybe we should. Maybe that would help. I don’t know. It wasn’t about that. It was… we were just talking, you know, and I said maybe it’s time for you to step back from this great thing that you’ve built. He built this for all of us, right? It’s amazing and you’ve– you’ve put in so much work and it was hard and now, maybe it’s time for you to take a break. You know what I’m saying. I mean, look, you just said, I’m okay running this. My great son has said I’m okay doing this by myself.

Thomas: 100%. But, I mean, it’s not like I don’t understand a little bit of where Granddad is coming from ’cause, I mean, this is– this is his creation, right? Like, it feels like an extension of himself.

Ridge: Yeah.

Thomas: What?

Ridge: I don’t know. You think you know somebody. Hm. Some good times in here, huh? Being a kid climbing all over this thing.

Thomas: [ Chuckles ] Yeah.

Ridge: But I don’t– I don’t know if you remember, but Dad had a stapler on his desk. 20 years ago, at least.

Thomas: Okay.

Ridge: And somebody threw it out. I don’t know if it was me. I don’t know. I don’t remember. But apparently, it, uh, it meant a lot to him.

Thomas: Wow, I mean, that’s– that’s, uh, that’s too bad.

Ridge: Yeah. Yeah, what’s too bad is that he doesn’t think that I threw out his stapler because it was broken. He– he thinks it’s me telling him he shouldn’t be working anymore.

Thomas: Wow. I– I– I don’t know. I guess I have a hard time understanding that.

Ridge: Me too, but here we are. You know, all I want is for my father to– to enjoy these years, to be happy, to go do stuff and you know what? Truth be told, I’m running this place. I’m running it because he asked me to.

Brooke: I’m not really following this. You’re saying that you want this line to be entirely yours, but you’re having RJ work on it with you, so why not have Ridge’s help too?

Eric: I don’t want Ridge’s help. I don’t want him to do it with me. I don’t want Ridge to be with me and start shoving me aside.

Brooke: Oh, Eric. That’s not what he’s doing.

Eric: That is what he’s doing, Brooke! That is what he’s doing! Now, when I started this business, when I started Forrester Creations, every collection was me alone. My first one and collection after collection, me alone by myself and I’m gonna do it again. Ridge needs to be at the top of his game and you tell him that. You tell him that because I’m coming for him.

Thomas: [ Chuckles ] Remember those words, Dad, because one day, it’ll be time for you to step down.

Ridge: Hm. I know. It’s gonna be a tough day. It’s gonna be hard. I’m gonna be sad, but then I’m gonna see you standing there to takeover and it’s gonna make me happy.

Thomas: I don’t know. I mean, it– I think Steffy already beat me to that.

[ Thomas laughing ]

Ridge: That’s what she’s thinking. Hey. I’m proud of you kids. You worked hard, really hard. And so did your granddad. Look at what he did. Look what he built for us. We get to play and– and make things because of what he did for years and years. We got to drive nice cars, wear nice suits. And I wanna be respectful, I do, but right now, this is my vision. As long as I’m here, the future of this company is what I want.

Donna: I love how passionate you are about all of this and I’m behind you 100%, but getting all worked up like this is really not good for you.

Eric: Yeah.

Donna: All this tension with you and Ridge, and you. I– I don’t want to see you stuck in the middle like this.

Eric: Is that how you feel? RJ, you feel stuck in the middle? Do you believe in me and this collection that we’re collaborating on?

RJ: Granddad, of course I believe in you. You think I’d be here if I didn’t absolutely believe in you? I love working with you. I think your designs, they’re gonna blow my dad out of the water.

Eric: Our designs. Come here. Come here.

Ridge: Ha.

Brooke: Sorry for interrupting.

Ridge: You’re not interrupting. Not when you’re bringing all this into the office. Did you go over to Dad’s? Did you get to talk to Donna?

Brooke: Your father was there and our son was there.

Ridge: RJ was there. Okay.

Brooke: Mm-hmm. You know how we thought our son might be seeing a young lady because he was disappearing so much?

Ridge: Yeah, was she there? Is she nice?

Brooke: Well, no. It turns out it’s nothing like that.

Ridge: I’m lost. I don’t know what you’re talking about.

Brooke: Well, you’re actually gonna be really happy about this. RJ is designing.

Ridge: He’s designing?

Brooke: With your father.

Ridge: That is amazing! That’s all I ever wanted. I– I knew it was gonna happen eventually, I just didn’t– how am I just hearing about this now?

Brooke: Well, I– I just found out myself. I went over there and walked into the Forrester mansion and in the living room, it’s turned into a design studio and Eric was there and RJ and Donna and Eric’s working on his last collection. His grand finale and he seems really determined. He told me to tell you that you better step up your game. He’s coming after you.

Eric: We’re gonna show Ridge and the rest of the world that I’ve still got it. You know, RJ, when– when– when your grandmother, Stephanie, and I started this company, we wanted to create a fashion business that would be a legacy for our kids and our grandkids, and we did that. We did that and then, one day, I would step aside, but you know what? I’m not ready yet. It’s time for Ridge and everybody else to realize that Eric Forrester can’t be put out to pasture. He cannot be replaced. Not yet. The best is yet to come.

EJ talked to his contact at the hospital to get info about the shooter. He was upset when he got off the phone. Johnny walked in the room and wondered what was wrong. He let Johnny know that Ava escaped. They weren’t on the same page about Ava. They ended up talking Chanel. He let EJ know that he told her about his feelings, but Talia showed up. EJ gave him advice on how to handle his situation. Johnny wasn’t sure about his idea, but Chanel called him so he could come over. After Johnny left, EJ was determined to go after Ava. His contact told him that the shooter was awake and getting questioned by the police. Chanel talked to Paulina about her conflicted feelings about Talia and Johnny. Paulina wondered what Chanel told Johnny, but she said that Talia showed up before she could answer him. Paulina supported her, but she hoped that she would pick Johnny. Chanel wasn’t happy that he sprung that on her. She wasn’t sure if he was on the rebound from Wendy. Paulina thought she should take her time deciding, but she thought she dragged it out enough. Johnny was about to knock as Paulina was about to leave.

Chanel told Johnny that Talia had feelings for her. She told him that before he admitted how he felt she was looking forward to seeing what would happen in their relationship. He thought she was choosing Talia so he was about to leave, but she stopped him. She told him that she wanted to be with him. Ava and Harris were at a motel. He wanted to get them some food, but she didn’t think it was safe since EJ had hitman. Harris questioned if it was EJ and Ava was positive. Ava thought he wouldn’t stop at one attempt. She told him that Rafe hates her so he won’t believe that she shot the shooter in self-defense. She said they had to bring Susan home. Harris was about to get a burner phone and food. She thanked him for helping her. Ava saw Susan again, but she realized that she was having a psychic connection with her. When Harris returned she told him that Susan was stuck in the Big Smoke. Harris said that was a nickname for London. They decided to go there to look for her. Later, Rafe and an officer arrived at the motel. He warned the officer that Ava and Harris are armed so it’s okay to use deadly force. Rafe kicked the door down and was shocked by what he saw.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

Do you even have any idea what time it is? It’s, I don’t know, afternoon? Evening? Oh, which would mean we’ve been in this bed for what, like, 12 hours and counting? Oh, we have to make up for all those times that we were interrupted?

Are you sure this is okay? Sure. What is okay?

Shutting out the world. Just being alone here with me. I am more than sure. I left my phone with Kayla and told her to only contact me if there was an emergency. And… Since I haven’t heard from her yet.

Look at you. You only wear that on special occasions. It is a special occasion. Abraham has taken me to the bistro. Ah, okay. So I’m guessing date number two went well. Well, okay. Now, you know, I’m not one to kiss and tell. Okay, okay, maybe I am. Let’s just say that the second date was better than the first.

Okay, so this is date number three. That’s a big one. I’m going out on a slow roll, Chanel. Okay, I’m taking your advice and not moving too fast. Which is weird. He is my husband. Well, hey, if things do head in that direction… You have my permission to go for it. I’m glad to hear that. Oh, well, enough about my love life.

I want to know, how are things going with you and Talia? Dr. Hunter?

You have no idea how happy that makes me to say that out loud. Yeah! I think me too. Look at you! With your lab coat and your stethoscope. And your sensible shoes. I know, right? Daddy would be so proud. You think so? Are you kidding? Here, lemme take a picture. Wait, am I allowed to take a picture? Is that like against hospital regulations?

You know what? It’s okay. I don’t care. Here. Stand by the in front of the desk and look. Doctory, my gosh. Here we go. Yeah.

Cute. Okay. Are you here to just take pictures and embarrass me or what? I wish I’m actually here on the job. I’m here to question the woman that was shot by Ava Vitale.

Before I kill these, you, uh, hmm, bad choice of words, you want the last one? I’m good. You sure? The ones at the bottom collect the most health.

We’ve been holed up in this room for over 24 hours and as much as I love vending machines, I think we’re gonna have to get some real food at some point. Yeah, well, it’s still not safe out there. EJ’s got people all over this town. Okay, I, are you sure it was EJ? And it’s just not something from your past?

Harris, I told you. I got out of that life years ago. There’s no doubt in my mind that EJ was the one who sent that woman to murder me.

Do you have an update on that patient we discussed? Yes, Mr. Mayor. The woman gets shy of Bayview. She’s still unconscious. Hmm. Well, keep watch and be sure to call me if and when she opens her eyes.

Ava, how the hell did you manage to put my hired gun in the hospital? She was supposed to put you in the mall. Dad, what’s got you so upset?

Like sand through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives.

What is taking room service so long? I’m starving. Oh, I can’t imagine how you worked up such an appetite.

Finally!

Hey, uh, is everything okay? Yeah, I’m sorry to interrupt, but, uh, Kayla said I could find you here. Uh, what is it? It’s about your mother.

Look, I know EJ. One failed attempt isn’t gonna get him to call off his docs. And now we got the cops looking for us, too. Yeah, but we didn’t do anything. Yeah, but Rafe, uh, Commissioner Hernandez… He hates me. He’s not gonna believe a word that I say. We can just call EJ and tell him that his mom’s alive.

He’s not gonna believe us. We’ve got no proof that Susan survived the crash. Right. Just your word. Which means nothing to him. There’s only one way to get EJ to back off. We need to find Susan Banks and bring her home to her son.

I was just reading an article about the woman who killed your grandmother escaped from Bayview.

Ava, Ava escaped? Mm hmm, and shot someone in the process. We should shoot. Does it even matter? None of this should surprise you. The woman is a dangerous criminal. The judge sent her to Bayview for treatment. As if there is anything that could help that maniac. You dodged a bullet, literally, when you entered your association with her.

Where is she now? On the run, Rafe’s trigger happy minions will put her down like the rabid dog that she is.

This is weird. Talia and me are good. Good. Uh, no complaints. It’s just… It’s just what, baby? Johnny DiMera. What about him? He showed up and… a bomb on me. Okay. He told me that he still has feelings for me. Romantic feelings. And he wants me back.

Well, what do you know? My baby is in demand. So, Johnny

DiMera is still in love with my girl. I didn’t say that. I said he still has feelings for me. Whatever. You two were married. It’s not like he has a little crush. Fine. Put whatever label on it you want. So he just came out and told you all this? Yeah. And? And what? Oh, we are not going to play this game. I have a dinner I have to get to.

What did you say? I said… nothing. What do you mean you said nothing? You had to say something. I was about to, but then Talia came in before I had the chance. Oh. Okay, well, if Talia hadn’t been there, what would you have said?

The shooting victim isn’t critical. But stable condition. Okay. Has she regained consciousness since she got out of surgery? No. But I mean, I can text you if anything changes. No, you know what? I think I’ll wait. Jade, are you sure? I mean, that could be a while. Yeah, I, I need to be here as soon as she wakes up.

I gotta find out who hired her to kill Ava Vitale. I hope they can bring Ava in peacefully. Do I need to remind you that she killed your grandmother? You already did. Then why do I feel like you’re still defending her? The judge ruled. That Ava was not responsible for her actions at the time of the accident.

First of all, it was not an accident, and that judge was even more delusional than Ava. Either way, I just, I hope that the police can find her before she or anyone else gets hurt. That’s all I’m saying. So you’re sure you have no idea where your mother is? No, I, uh, we’ve been here. I, I didn’t have my phone on me.

Damn it. I thought she was doing a lot better. I mean, the last visit she seemed hopeful. I can’t believe she shot someone. Well, we do have reason to believe that it was in self defense. You mean the person was trying to hurt her? The woman who was shot, she, uh, She was dressed in a nurse’s uniform, but she doesn’t work at Bayview.

She’s pretending to be a nurse. Why? The evidence indicates that she went there to kill Ava.

Hey, for I can get us a burner phone, get some food, and maybe some other supplies. Are you sure? Yeah, I’m pretty good at moving around undetected. Okay. I mean, if you get a phone, I can call my son. I know that he’s probably worried sick. Yeah. I mean, it might be a little while until I see him again, so… I know.

Just, um, Be careful out there, alright? Always. Hey, Harris, just wait. Um, Thank

you. For getting, uh, food?

For saving my life. For getting me out of Bayview. You know, you could have bailed. You could have… You could have left me to die.

I’m not your problem.

Ava, you’re not a problem. At all. I’m just, you know, glad I was there to help.

You okay? Yeah, it’s um,

It’s just this hero… Thing, it’s

just… Just be careful, okay?

Yeah, um, just lock the door, okay? Do not open it for anybody. And I’ll be back soon. Here.

Hey, you know I can get free coffee right over there, right? I know, but if there’s one thing I learned is that the only thing worse than police station coffee is hospital coffee. You know what? I can’t even argue with you on that one. And I can definitely use the jolt to get through the rest of my shift.

Aw, look at you talking about shifts. I know, right? Can you believe it? It’s… Wasn’t too long ago, I almost threw away my career. And my life. Well, you get to do what you love again. And, did I mention that I’m seeing someone new? Someone that I really, really like. You and Chanel? Is it a thing? It’s becoming one.

It seems like we have another chance to have something really, really special. No, you need to get to dinner. Answer the question, Chanel. Well, how do you feel about John? Honestly, I don’t know. Look, I thought what we had was over. We’d moved on, and we’d even found a way to be friends. Uh huh. Uh huh what? You know I support you in whatever choice that you make.

I told you I’m willing to accept Talia, even knowing what she did to you, to the bakery, to her family.

She to turn her life around. But you’d rather see me with Johnny. You know, I’ve always had a soft spot for that boy. I mean, there was a time he made you very happy. And so, yes, yes, a part of me was rooting for you two to find your way back to each other. But this isn’t my decision. It’s yours. And you’re still, you’re still avoiding the questions, you know.

Oh, this whole thing, it just kind of makes me mad. I mean, why did Johnny have to drop this on me now, when I’m just starting a new relationship? And yeah, I get that it’s new, but I really like being around her. And, and Johnny, he said he wanted to be with Wendy. Oh yeah, uh, uh, uh. Only, she chose Tripp over him.

Exactly. So how do I know this isn’t some sort of rebound? Well, you don’t have to make a decision right now. But I do. I do. I’m over being one side of a triangle, and I’m sure that Johnny is too. I let things go on way too long with him and Allie, and we saw how that went. And to leave this hanging is just, it’s not fair to Talia or Johnny.

Or to you. Yeah. Well, well. What are you gonna do? Who are you going to choose?

Enough about Ava. Yeah. When we last spoke, you were about to go tell Chanel Dupree about your feelings for her. Yes, and I did. And how were they received? What did she say? Actually, she said nothing. Uh, As soon as I told her how I felt, Talia walked in and I did not want to have that conversation in front of her, so.

Okay, so what did you do? I left. You left? Yes, I left. So she hasn’t given you an answer? Nope. Well, what the hell are you doing here? You need to go back and get Chanel and demand an answer. Does she or does she not want to be with you? Yeah, I’m not gonna do that.

Hey, I’m gonna go get changed. Let me know if you need me.

So, uh, the one that my mom shot, she… She, uh, was taken into surgery and where it is, she survived, but, uh… She’s been unconscious, so we have not been able to question her. Okay, so then after the incident, my mom, what, just slipped out of Bayview? Huh. Well, she had some help from Harris Michaels. Michaels? Mm.

Are you sure? Yeah, yeah. Actually, uh, saw them walking out on the security footage. Look, Tripp, I don’t have to tell you this. Obviously, uh, Ava escaping from the hospital doesn’t help her case. Yeah, so you came here asking if, uh, I’d heard from her. Right. Which, clearly, you have not. But, uh, if she does try and contact you…

I’ll let you know. Good. And I’m assuming that you’re already investigating the person who sent that woman to kill her, right? Yeah, but you say that like you… I don’t know who it is. I mean, isn’t it obvious? P. J. DeMera. Oh. Paris will be fine. He will be. He’s done this kind of thing a million times before. Oh, he knows how to take care of himself.

I swear, he locked that door. Hello

again, Eva! Did you miss me?

How did you find me? Well,

we asked when you’d leave it down at the end of Lonely Street. Wait, are you… Are you dead? Are you a ghost? No, I look in white!

Susan?

Susan?

Where’d you go?

I knew she weren’t juvier

than a a bag of Coal Ranch corn nuts right now. So you’re not really here? Duh! Okay, wait, wait, wait a minute. Okay, back in Bayview, I thought that I was hallucinating because I was feeling so much guilt over your death. Although now I know that I don’t need to feel guilty because I saw you stumble away from the burning car before it exploded.

Boom. Okay, so you’re not a ghost. I’m not hallucinating.

Okay so what are you using your psychic powers to appear to me? Susan, Susan, you have to tell me where you are. Please, please Susan I need to find you so I can keep your son from trying to kill me again. I know there’s bad blood between Ava and EJ. Worse than bad blood, he blames her for his mothers death.

I just ran into him yesterday, I was telling him how well my mom was doing and that she might even be let out of Bayview sooner. How do you take that? Well, let’s just say he wasn’t exactly thrilled. Okay, well, did he make a direct threat against her? No, but it’s not like he’s gonna tell me that he’s hiring someone to kill her.

Yeah. Right, of course. Well, let’s hope this woman wakes up soon and we can get some answers from her. We will go after EJ. Listen, I promise you, if there is any evidence that implicates EJ in a plot to kill your mother, we will find it.

So you’re just giving up? Instead of making a fool out of myself? Yes. Fine, well then I assume you’re just not all that crazy about the woman. I mean, to just bow out like this. Come on, of course I’m crazy about her! Dad, I mean, Chanel and I would probably still be together now if the devil himself hadn’t come between us.

So you’re just going to sit back and let her take her sweet time in letting you know what she wants? Fuck. I put myself out there. I opened up my heart to her if she wants to give us another shot. She knows where to find me.

Thank God for second chances, right? Seems like I got a lot of them from half the people in this town. I mean DHS, Dr. Johnson. But Chanel, I almost destroyed her business. I targeted her family. And somehow she seems to forgive me after all of that. Well, that’s great. But are you sure you’re ready to date again?

You mean so soon after Colin? I mean, he did put you through hell. Yeah, Jada, and I almost didn’t survive it. But somehow, look, I got my life together. And no, I didn’t know that I wanted to be with a woman. But now I have no doubts. I genuinely want to be with Chanel, and I am so lucky that she wants to be with me, too.

If your grandfather were here, he would tell you what I’m about to tell you right now. DeMiras don’t let others decide our fate. We never leave anything up to chance. Don’t wait for this woman to come to you, son.

Hey, I was just thinking about you. Are you busy? Not at all. Can you come back to my mom’s? Right now? Yeah. I’ve been thinking about what you said. You put your heart out there. And, you deserve a response. In person. Okay, yeah, um, I’ll be right there.

She wants to see you. Yeah. Okay, uh, Guess I’m gonna find out if she wants to be with me. Or with Taya. Wish me luck. Like I said, son, Make your own

luck.

Yeah.

Uh, Paulina, hi. Oh, good to see you, Johnny. Yeah, you too. You look nice. I look a whole lot better tonight. Yes, yes, yes. Thank you. I got a date. Oh, someone I know? Is with my husband. Oh, Abraham, he may not remember me, but you know, when you share the kind of love that we did, it never really goes away. I agree.

Well, I hope it goes well. Yeah, well, thank you. You too, you take

care. Bye. Bye. Thanks for coming. Yeah. I’ve, uh, I’ve had some time to think about what you said. Take. As much time as you need, okay? I know I kind of caught you off guard with all that. You did. And the thing is, I started seeing Talia. I know. And, and to be completely honest with you, Johnny, I really like her.

And before you came here to tell me how you feel, I was, I was really looking forward to seeing where things would go.

And now?

I am really happy for you, Talia. And I am so proud of you that you got your life back after such a difficult, painful time. Oh, you better check that. Might be about my patient. It is. She’s awake. Can I talk to her? Give her a doctor a few minutes to check her out. And if he says she’s up for it, you can go get your answers.

You should hope the Salem police find you first, Ava. Because one way or another, my mother will be avenged.

Elvis, he is a very good boy. Your very good boy sent a very bad woman to try and kill me. Why would your death. But only you and I know that you aren’t really dead, so tell me where you are. So I can prove it. And why would I want to help you after what you did to me? You drove me off the cliff in a car.

And it was only through divine intervention that I did not go up in flames. And now I am stuck in the big smoke. I am really, really, really sorry about that. I wasn’t well at the time. But now, you and I, we could help each other. Look, I know, I know you are a good, kind, and compassionate person. Oh, and you are one of the most mean, mean, meanest persons I know.

Well, second meanest anyway. What if you hurt me again? Oh, that’s not gonna happen. No, I promise you, I just want to reunite you with your Elvis so we can all just move on. Please, Susan, please just… Tell me where you are.

Well, He’s not where you think. Ava, what are you doing? Harrison. Susan is here. She was…

Dammit.

Is that about my mom? Did you find her? No, not yet, but I gotta, uh, I gotta go follow up on a lead. If you hear from your mother or Michael’s, tell them to turn themselves in. Yeah, yeah, and another thing, they left Bayview with a gun. Which means my people, they have to consider them armed and dangerous.

So, you, you believe Susan projected herself into your mind? Well, yeah, she’s, she’s, she’s got some, some sort of psychic powers. I think that she’s been trying to reach out to me this whole time.

Okay, okay. If she’s really out there, why wouldn’t she contact EJ or somebody else in her family? Who knows? Look, Susan Banks says a lot of things, but logical, it’s not one of them. I kept asking her where she was, and all she wanted to talk about was how I kidnapped her, and I left her to die in a burning car.

And she kept saying that she was, she was stuck in the big smoke. But I know she wasn’t stuck anywhere, right? Because I saw her run away from the wreck and never look back. Okay, so she said she was stuck in the big smoke? Yeah, why? Big Smoke, that’s an old nickname for London. Maybe Susan’s trying to give you a clue on where she is.

Oh, come on. Why would she be so cryptic? I don’t know. It’s all we have to go on, though. Okay. All right. Well, assuming we did go to London and we somehow got there and didn’t get caught, how are we gonna find Susan’s big city? Well, I can take care of the first part. I got some contacts for the fake passports and travel arrangements.

As far as the second part…

We’re just gonna have to London. God knows it’s too dangerous here. Cops could be kicking down the bar any minute. It’s

Chanel. Leave me a message. Hey you. It’s me. I stopped by the bakery to see you, but it’s closed. So I was thinking I’d stop by your mom’s. I have something special for you.

You, uh, you want to give it a shot with Talia. I understand. No. No, I don’t think you do. It’s alright, okay? You don’t… You don’t have to let me down easy. I was honest with you. And now you’re being honest with me.

But you just said you wanted to see where things could go with Talia. I did. Until you told me you wanted to see where things could go with us. See, my connection with you is, well, I have suppressed my feelings for you for a while now, and it was because I wasn’t hopeful that they’d be returned. And, then so many things, they just got in the way of us being able to make it work.

And, obviously, but, now, now those feelings are…

They are anything but suppressed. So, are you saying that,

uh… Yeah. I am.

Here’s to your grandson getting his heart’s desire.

Do you have an update on the patient? Yeah, she just woke up. The police? They’re questioning her as we speak.

I’m Detective Jada Hunter, Salem PD. Glad to see you made it through surgery. Thanks. I’m still a little out of it though. I understand. And I’ll let you rest. Just as soon as you answer one question for me. Who hired you to kill Ava Vitale?

Why don’t I pack the food and we can take it home? I’m not sure I can even eat right now anyway. Your mom’s gonna be okay, Tripp. She’s a survivor. I’m not sure who I’m worried about more, finding her, EJ or the cops. Well, she’s got Harris Michaels with her, right? The guy’s a Navy SEAL. He’s gonna protect her.

Yeah, I’m not so sure about that. I mean, yeah, I know Michaels was brainwashed and all, but it wasn’t that long ago the guy tried to kill my whole family with an exploding pizza.

So the manager down the block at the pizza place, he recognized Michaels from a photo in the paper. The desk clerk, he made a positive ID of the man and the woman in the room. Be careful. Tally and Michaels, they’ve both killed before. The situation calls for, hey, I hesitate to use deadly force. Gotcha. Alright? Yeah.

Recap written by Terry

After Victor’s restructuring of upper management, the Newmans met in Victor’s office to discuss it. Nikki wanted Nick back in the company, in his former position. She said her idea to make Nick feel more comfortable going back to work would be to return the job Victoria took away from him and gave to Nate, Victoria’s romantic interest and employee. After he discussed it with Sharon, Nick announced he would not return to the family company but planned to join Sharon’s company.

After Victoria and Victor left for a meeting, Nikki asked Nate if he would step aside if Nick wanted to return. Nate turned the question around on her, to which she cooly replied, “I don’t have to.” He claimed he would step aside if Victoria and Victor asked him to do so. Nate asked Nikki what would he have to do to prove he is sincere. She replied that he would step down voluntarily.

Adam asked Victor for a chance to redeem himself after Adam was left out of Victor’s restructuring of the company. Adam admitted to Victor that he had blown all the chances Victor gave him, but if given one more chance, Adam would prove himself by starting at the bottom, if that’s what it took, and work his way up on his own abilities and merits. Adam said that’s how it should have been all along. Victor pointed at him and said he hoped that Adam was serious, because when Adam went to the dark side, he destroyed whatever he accomplished.

When Adam later spoke to Sally about her new business, Sally stated that Adam needed something too. Adam told her he also had a plan, but she did not ask what it was and Adam did not explain.

Last week, while talking to himself, Adam said if it was war that Victor wanted, he’d get war. It remains to be seen if Adam had a vengeful scheme in mind or if Adam had a change of heart and was sincere in redeeming himself.

Sally and Nick had a tense conversation about Adam. Sally observed that the combined loss of Ava, Adam and Sally’s late infant daughter, and being left out of the family business must have been devastating. Nick said maybe Adam had learned some humility. Sally asked Nick if he thought Adam deserved to lose Ava. Nick gazed at her with a look of sadness that she even asked that.

Nick encountered Adam at Chancellor park, where Nick asked Adam if he begged Victor for another chance. Adam said he did. Nick admitted it would be cool to have a brother but whenever he and Adam built a pretty good relationship Adam did something to blow it up. Nick said that in a way, Victor set the stage for Nick and Adam to figure out who they were and what they wanted. Nick wondered if that was Victor’s plan all along.

Sharon and Mariah met to catch up. Mariah said that she may have made a mistake by moving herself and Aria in with Abby and Devon while Tessa was away, but Sharon reassured her that babies are flexible and resilient with change. Mariah admitted she constantly worried about Aria’s inability to hear. She said she knew she was driving herself crazy by worrying so much and confessed she needed a distraction.
