Alexis: Well, this is a surprise.

Harmony: Hey, I just got off work. Can I pick your brain about something? Like, only if you have a minute and I’m not interrupting.

Alexis: Yeah, I just put the—the last edition to bed, so… What’s this about? Is it about Willow?

Harmony: Kind of. Um, it’s more about Nina Reeves.

Sonny: Hey.

Nina: Hey. I don’t know why I’m always so surprised to see you here. You own the bar, after all.

Sonny: Yeah, well, that’s true. Uh, Phyllis had to see a distributor, and, um, you know, i-instead of closing down during the dead zone, which is between 12:00 and happy hour, I-I said that I would cover.

Nina: That’s very sweet of you. Nostalgic for runny a bar?

Sonny: Well, it’s better than sitting in my office all by myself. Too many ghosts, you know — especially with Jason gone.

Nina: I hear you.

Sonny: Were you gonna see Phyllis? You want a drink?

Nina: Um, both, actually. I was following up on something important.

Sonny: Is there anything I can help you with?

Laura: Spencer.

Spencer: Hey, Grandmother.

Laura: Oh. [ Laughs ]

Spencer: Wow. It almost seems like you missed me.

Laura: [ Laughs ] I did! Oh, my goodness. A month in Spring Ridge didn’t hurt you at all.

Spencer: Except label me a convicted felon. I guess I’ll be serving sandwiches and soft drinks at Kelly’s for the rest of my life.

Nikolas: Worry about your future later. Let’s take a moment and celebrate your homecoming. I got dinner reservations at the Metro Court. Mother, I hope you and Kevin will be able to join us.

Laura: I don’t know about Kevin, but I can certainly make it. Spencer, is everything okay?

Esme: Spence is just wondering why I’m still here. Don’t worry. I was just leaving.

Victor: Johann, my friend, if we want people to believe we’ve done nothing wrong, then we must act as if we’ve done nothing wrong — which we haven’t. I showed Drew a tarot card, for heaven’s sakes. If a crime was committed, it was when he attacked you.

Johann: On your orders.

Victor: Which was a test… which he passed — until the Corinthos woman showed up — forced him to reveal that he was just playing along and that the whole thing was a set-up right from the start. That, uh, warning that Eileen Ashby gave me about Laura being onto me seems like it has some merit.

Sam: Hi. Welcome back.

Drew: Long trip.

Anna: Yes. I got a cab from the airport, and Felicia is filling Maxie in.

Sam: We were worried when we didn’t hear from you in Austria.

Anna: I didn’t want to call from an unsecure line.

Drew: Does that mean that you and Felicia found something out?

Anna: Yeah — proof that Luke’s death was no accident. He was murdered.

Esme: Unfortunately, I won’t be joining you all for dinner. Spence has made it clear he no longer considers me a part of his life. I’m leaving.

Laura: I– would — would you two like a little time to talk this through? I mean, you don’t have to rush on our account.

Nikolas: I apologize for springing dinner plans without checking with you first, but, Esme, I’m sure Spencer wouldn’t mind if you join us. We all shared in Spencer’s ordeal at Spring Ridge — you, especially.

Esme: I’m not sure.

Laura: Please, come along.

Nikolas: The whole family will be there — Ava and Victor.

Laura: Victor?

Nikolas: Is that a problem?

Johann: The plan you put together relies on taking everyone by surprise.

Victor: I’m not overly concerned. The only possibly damning thing I mentioned was operation Demeter, and if Drew has no memory of that op, then he and Laura are gonna hit a dead end.

Johann: But you are concerned about something.

Victor: Anna and Felicia’s investigation into the cable car accident that killed Luke.

Johann: [ Whispering ] You had to kill Luke Spencer. He was getting too close to the truth about what you were planning.

Victor: Well, nothing can be traced back to me, which is why I need to find someone else to take the fall for Luke’s death.

Johann: I’ll do a lot for the cause. But I hope you’re not expecting me to be your fall guy.

Victor: Don’t worry. I have someone else in mind.

Ava: Hi. So, am I, uh, late for the big family dinner, or are you early? And is your friend here gonna be joining us?

Anna: So, this employee at the Transportation Bureau — he did admit to sabotaging Luke’s cable car. And there’s no indication as to whether he was acting alone, but my gut says that he wasn’t. And unfortunately, before we could get any more information out of him… the man took his own life in front of us.

Sam: Okay, so, technically, we have one man’s confession, but no evidence to back it up.

Anna: Right, so far. And all of our efforts to try to keep this quiet have just failed. Plus, now the Bureau is officially involved.

Drew: Well, wait — won’t the Bureau have a better chance of finding a connection between Victor and Luke’s death?

Anna: Just because the WSB is investigating doesn’t mean that I will be privy to their intel, because I have been deemed “too close” to the situation because of my history with Luke.

Drew: Hmm.

Sam: Basically, you were iced out.

Anna: Yeah. But we do have to keep in mind the fact that Victor was the director of the WSB for a time. That is a lapse they do not want to revisit. They don’t want his name to come up. They don’t want to draw any scrutiny. So I think it’s possible they will steer this investigation down a path that proves not to be embarrassing to them. So, you see, what I’m saying is, if we want to expose Victor, you really are our best chance.

Drew: Yeah, about that — um… we hit a little bit of a snag.

Curtis: So, what has TJ told you about our situation with Marshall?

Jordan: Your father? Not much. I think TJ’s been avoiding the subject, considering my history with Tommy.

Curtis: Okay. What did Tommy tell you about our father?

Willow: How awful was the night in jail?

Michael: Mm, I mean, I got a cell to myself, so no complaints.

Willow: You don’t have to be a hero for me.

Michael: Well, “A,” I’ll always want to be a hero to you, and, “B,” honestly, spending the night in jail was, uh — was worth it, because that reporter got what he deserved for trash-talking my sister.

Willow: At least you didn’t break his jaw.

Michael: Uh, yeah, but I can’t be sorry that I hit the guy. But…I am sorry that Nina is probably gonna use this against me now when she petitions the court for visitation with Wiley.

Willow: Uh, let’s not worry about that right now. I’m — I’m so sorry I wasn’t here when you were booked.

Michael: It’s okay. I appreciate that. But there’s nothing you could have done. Diane — she handled everything. But, hey, you’re here now. I, uh, heard from my mom that you were held up at work…?

Willow: That’s what I told Carly when she texted me, but I wasn’t being honest with her. Or with you.

Harmony: Nina’s trying to enlist my help to see Wiley without going to court.

Alexis: How?

Harmony: She wants me to influence Willow. And she says Wiley’s grandfather is on her side.

Alexis: But you don’t want to get involved?

Harmony: I just — it could cause so much tension between me and my daughter.

Alexis: Okay, I don’t want to get involved e-either, because Wiley is Kristina’s nephew, so I want to stay out of any potential conflict between Nina and Willow. And I suggest that you do the same thing.

Harmony: [ Sighs ] I wish it was that simple.

Nina: Actually, I’ll have a club soda.

Sonny: [ Chuckling ] Okay. Uh… all right. Get you a little glass here.

Nina: [ Chuckles ] Thank you. Perfect.

Sonny: All right. Now that that’s taken care of… how about the help? Or not — I mean, you don’t have to say that.

Nina: No, sonny, it’s not that I don’t want your help. It’s just I don’t think that you should offer it.

Sonny: It this about Wiley? You talked to y– the lawyer. You’re gonna file a petition?

Nina: Well, I haven’t talked to him yet. Have you tried to talk to Michael again?

Michael: You want Josslyn to rely on you, right?

Sonny: Of course I do. Why wouldn’t I, Michael?

Michael: Why the hell would she when you prioritized Nina?

Sonny: Oh, that’s not what happened. How many times do I got to —

Michael: that’s exactly what happened. Look, dad, you claim to be a family man, right? But a family man wouldn’t sabotage his wife and kids to protect the woman who blew their lives apart.

Sonny: You done?! What do you want from me?!

Sonny: [ Breathes sharply ] Uh, y-y-you know, um… I couldn’t — I-I couldn’t get in any word with Michael ’cause he’s — he’s very stubborn.

Nina: Yeah, well, I wish I could walk away from this for your sake, sonny, but —

Sonny: No, hey, you’re allowed to see your grandson. And, uh, I’d do the same… if I were in your shoes.

Nina: Yeah. I’ll try not to get you involved.

Sonny: No, I’m — Nina, I’m already involved. You know, look, the — the… the choices you make, your family’s pain, your pain… it matters to me.

Sonny: But you gotta know, if you — I-if you go to court on this and, uh, lines are gonna be drawn, sides are gonna be taken. And if I don’t take a side, that means I’m taking your side.

Nina: Well, Sonny, I would never, ever ask you to choose me over your son. No. I wouldn’t do that.

Sonny: Right.

Nina: So if you have to go against me in court and support Michael’s attempt to block my petition, then I’ll understand that.

Sonny: [ Sighs ] Right, l-l-let’s just — can we just hope it doesn’t get to that?

Nina: Yeah, we can hope. But you need to know this — that I will do whatever’s necessary to ensure that I have a role in my grandson’s life.

Sam: Carly blew the scam wide open.

Anna: Oh, no.

Drew: Yeah, but we did — did get one piece of intel before Carly arrived.

Sam: Victor mentioned operation Demeter.

Anna: I don’t know what that is. I mean, what is she, the goddess of harvest? She presides over the cycles of life and death.

Sam: Wait, so I-I-is it not familiar to you?

Anna: No, no. “Operation Demeter.” Uh, but I can access the WSB files.

Drew: Well, a lot of the ops that I did when I was a seal are classified.

Anna: Okay, did you reach out to Kim? She was the only one that knew you back then.

Drew: Yeah, she doesn’t remember me ever mentioning it.

Anna: I don’t see an operation Demeter here. No, uh, there’s nothing here in the files.

Sam: Uh-huh, so the operation probably originated with U.S. Intelligence.

Anna: Or it’s above my clearance, which is entirely possible. Or the operation went so horribly wrong that they’ve deleted all records.

Victor: Johann and I were catching up on some business while I was waiting for the rest of the family to arrive.

Ava: Mm.

Victor: I, uh — I think that about covers it, Johann. So, um, thank you, and I’ll, um — I’ll get in touch.

Johann: Uh…

Ava: Oh. Thank you very much. [ Sighs ] You must have had some super pressing business to have a meeting here at the Metro Court before our family dinner.

Victor: Uh, pressing? Yes. As important as family? Never.

Ava: Well, I completely agree. Though, you know, I can’t seem to recall what you said that you were doing for work these days.

Victor: Perhaps that’s because I never told you. Why do I get a feeling you’re playing me because you want something?

Ava: Because, Victor, I always want something. And I usually get it.

Laura: Well, I think you both know that Victor’s not my favorite person.

Nikolas: Mother, I hope you’ll still join us. Wouldn’t be a family celebration without you.

[ Cellphone chimes ]

Laura: Excuse me. Oh. Oh, dear. Um — boy, I completely forgot. It’s the chairperson from the traffic commission reminding me that we have a meeting in ten minutes. Oh, dear. You know, it’s been rescheduled so many times that I don’t feel that I can cancel. Could I just meet you over at the metro court? Okay, thanks. Welcome back, sweetheart.

Spencer: Thanks. See you.

Laura: See you.

[ Door closes ]

[ Keys jingling ]

Spencer: Uh, father, Esme and I have some things that we need to say to each other first.

Nikolas: Of course.

Spencer: In private.

Nikolas: Okay. You’ll still join us for dinner? I’ll hope for the best. Esme.

Esme: I was hoping to be gone before you returned, but your grandmother almost convinced me that we could talk things out.

Spencer: Really?

Esme: Yeah. I mean, you saw her earlier. Apparently, Laura’s warming up to me.

Spencer: When did that happen?

Esme: She thinks I might actually be a good influence on you. Unlike what your friends think.

Jordan: Tommy was only a couple years older than you. His memories of your father were vague. He — he rarely mentioned him.

Curtis: Maybe he remembered something that he didn’t think was important at the time.

Jordan: If he did, he never shared it with me. Besides, Tommy was far too young for Marshall to confide in him about entering Witness Protection.

Curtis: If that’s what really happened. [ Sighs ]

Jordan: What are you saying?

Curtis: Marshall didn’t outright say that he was in witness protection. I inferred, and he didn’t deny it.

Jordan: Did you learn something that contradicts that?

Curtis: Possibly, and that’s why I need your help to shed some light on it.

Jordan: How?

Curtis: Marshall applied for a job, and, uh, he confided in me that he had an arrest record. A sealed arrest record, which might explain why he disappeared and let us believe that he was dead. But you have access to that record. You could unseal it and let me know anything important that Marshall might be keeping from me.

Jordan: I’m sorry, Curtis. There is no way.

Nina: I say we take a vote. How about this? We stop talking about Wiley, we stop talking about court petitions, and we stop talking about family feuds.

Sonny: I second that motion.

Nina: Good.

Sonny: Cheers.

Sonny: you want some more club soda? Because I —

Nina: Oh, no, I-I better not. I’ve got to drive later.

Sonny [ Chuckling ] Uh-huh. Okay.

Nina: So, did you refill those decanters at your penthouse?

Sonny: No.

Nina: Right, and you’re not tempted by all the displays, all the bottles here?

Sonny: Uh, baby steps.

Nina: Well, those baby steps are pretty big. I’m proud of you.

Sonny: You know, it’s not going to be easy. I mean, right? But the — the — the plan was to let Phyllis have the bar, right?

Nina: Right. But life gets complicated. So do you still want to follow through on that plan?

Sonny: Well, I’m just trying to convince her that — that it — it’s her bar.

Nina: Yeah, I don’t think it’s gonna take a lot of persuasion, because — think about it — Phyllis owning the local watering hole? Just — it’ll feel like old times. Well, almost.

Sonny: You mean like when we were back in Nixon Falls?

Willow: Like I said, it wasn’t serious. Okay, I hadn’t eaten all day, so I was dehydrated. Between parenting Wiley and studying for my nursing exams, I-I was wearing myself thin. But Epiphany took good care of me.

Michael: Okay, well, I have to thank her, but I just — [ Sighs ] I wish you would have told me sooner.

Willow: You were spending the night in a cell. I didn’t want you worrying about me. It’s not like you could do anything about it. And I lied to Carly because she’s busy dealing with Josslyn. She didn’t need to worry about me, too.

Michael: I hate that you were alone. I mean, that — Epiphany’s great, but she was on duty. She — she couldn’t stay with you.

Willow: I wasn’t alone. My mom showed up for me.

Alexis: So what is so complicated about you staying out of Willow and Nina’s business?

Harmony: Well, things are… [ Clears throat ] Always complicated when it comes to my grandson. Thank you for the advice about Nina. I’m going to go. I’m going to let you go back to work and get out of your hair.

Alexis: Is there anything else you wanted to talk to me about?

Harmony: No. Um, is Shawn around, though? I’d really like to avoid him.

Alexis: I don’t think that’s going to be a problem because Shawn went to San Francisco, and I really don’t know when he’s coming back.

Harmony: Oh, Alexis, are you okay about that?

Alexis: Things got a little tense between us before he left.

Jordan: Hunting down sealed records and then unsealing them without a court order — that’s illegal, Curtis. You were in law enforcement. You know that as well as I do.

Curtis: The man is lying to TJ and me. I have questions. I need answers, and you have the ability to get them.

Jordan: Unethically.

Curtis: When has that ever stopped you?

Jordan: [ Scoffs ]

Curtis: You didn’t think twice about getting Laura’s sealed arrest records for Cyrus Renault.

Jordan: That’s not the same. I was being blackmailed. TJ’s life was at stake. I had no choice.

Curtis: Right. Because TJ’s family. And you and I are not that to each other anymore. Is that how it is?

Curtis: What’s not fair is that you won’t do this for me after everything you put me through.

Jordan: I know you’re going through a lot right now, and I know we have a lot of unresolved issues from our marriage, but do not conflate the two, and do not, under any circumstances, come in here and tell me how to do my job or what code I can or cannot live by.

Curtis: Jordan —

Jordan: Let me finish. I thought we were in a good place, but you’ve come way too close to destroying all that goodwill we built up. I’m not the bad guy here.

Curtis: So you really won’t look at those records for me?

Laura: I’m due to have dinner with Victor Cassadine and family. Would it be too much to hope that you found something that can put him behind bars?

Anna: Uh, Felicia and I, we were able to access the file room at the Transportation Bureau in Innsbruck. And a certain, um, Kurt Markovic, an employee there — he became suspicious of us, but, eventually, he — he did admit to sabotaging Luke’s cable car.

Laura: [ Breathes sharply ] It was not an accident… He was murdered. [ Sighs ]

Sam: I’m so sorry you had to find out this way. I wish things could be different.

Laura: [ Sighs ]

Anna: I’m sorry, Laura. Yeah. T-the crash was deliberate. But — but I have to say that this Kurt, you know, he — he didn’t admit to targeting Luke. Um, and, unfortunately, we couldn’t get any more information out of him because he took his own life there.

Laura: [ Breathes sharply ] But we know that it was Luke. Don’t we?

Anna: Unless the Bureau find evidence to the contrary, they will proceed as if Luke was just… another victim that day.

Laura: Collateral damage? I — [ Scoffs ]

Anna: Yes, to Kurt’s fanatical cause.

Drew: Whatever that was.

Anna: So unfortunately, we are — we’re not able to connect… this crash and Luke to Victor.

Laura: Maybe not yet, but knowledge is power, and…we are off to a good start.

Ava: I suspect that whenever you reveal your big plan for the family, it’ll behoove me to remain in your good graces.

Victor: So your friendliness towards me has a more selfish motivation?

Ava: Mm. Victor, I think you know better than anybody that we all have selfish motivations. I’m just upfront about mine. Besides, Nikolas and I are married. You and I are — are family now. We’ll be in each other’s lives from now on. Shouldn’t that make us allies, able to enjoy each other’s company?

[ Footsteps approaching ]

Nikolas: Hello, beautiful.

Ava: Mm! Hello.

Nikolas: I hope you didn’t order without me.

Ava: Oh, no, of course not. But I was beginning to think you stood us up. Where’s Spencer?

Nikolas: Things are a little tense between him and Esme. [ Sighs ] Spencer wanted some time to talk to her.

Victor: Well, I hope they’re coming. I mean, this celebration is for Spencer.

Nikolas: Spencer wouldn’t make any promises.

Ava: I’m so sorry. I know how anxious you’ve been to make amends to him.

Nikolas: The reality is, Spencer and I have a long way to go before any healing takes place.

Victor: No, that is absolutely unacceptable.

Spencer: Hey, I’m glad that you didn’t leave before I returned home. We left a lot unsaid. In fairness, it’s not like I could have chased after you with 12 hours left on my sentence, Esme.

Esme: I didn’t like how we ended things, either. I mean, I tossed and turned all night, thinking you meant the horrible things you said to me — that you actually believed I was the one responsible for filming Joss and Cam doing the dirty. Thank you for realizing that wasn’t true.

Spencer: Wait a second. I never said that.

Esme: I-I’m a-a little confused. If you still don’t believe me, then what’s been left unsaid between us?

Spencer: I want to believe you. I want to believe in you, Esme. But right now, you are blaming Trina for something that I know that she couldn’t have done.

Esme: Oh, but I could?!

Spencer: I don’t know! What I do know is that you were at the cabin and that you have a side to you that is capable of going to extremes.

Esme: You mean, like what I did to Ava? Setting her car on fire? Putting her dead daughter’s hospital I.D. Badge beneath the car? I never even heard of Ava Jerome until you decided to frighten her away from your father. I mean, how do we know you’re not the one capable of filming your friends without their consent? You were at the cabin, too, but you don’t see me going around accusing you! How do we know that this isn’t all your doing?!

Nikolas: I’m sorry. I know you’re invested in healing the rift between Spencer and me, but it is going to take time.

Victor: No, you don’t understand. I gave you room to take this process as slowly as you needed to bring the family together. But I have trusted the wrong people, and now we’re running out of time. Now, Valentin and Alexis — they’ll most likely never want to have anything to do with me again, but the rest of the family must come together while they still can.

Nikolas: “While they still can”? What is that supposed to mean?

Willow: Turnabout’s fair play — I delayed it first with the search for my birth certificate, and now you’re out on bail and have to stay in town until the assault charge is settled.

Michael: Will you, um, settle for a candlelit dinner instead?

Willow: With coq au vin, mousse de chocolat, and a lovely bordeaux? See, I already speak the language.

Michael: And you know what they say — we will always have Paris.

Jordan: The judge set a date for the trial. Diane Miller is gearing up for a fight, but there’s been no additional pressure from the Quartermaines or Sonny Corinthos. No special requests. Right. I’ll keep you posted, Robert.

Spencer: Knock it off, Esme. I was in Spring Ridge when that video was released. I couldn’t have posted it.

Esme: But you told me you had means to sneak in and out of Spring Ridge, thanks to dear Uncle Victor, and you and Cam were enemies when you were kids. Maybe that sex tape was payback.

Spencer: That is not at all what —

Esme: Calm down. I don’t actually believe you did it. I was just making a point.

Spencer: Which is?

Spencer: You had motive and opportunity, but you don’t see me going around accusing you because I have faith in my partner’s character. I have faith in us — or at least I used to. But you can’t seem to extend that same grace to me, can you? Then I guess there’s nothing more we can say to one another.

Anna: Tracy and Bobbie will be informed that the crash was deliberate.

Sam: But should we tell them the truth?

Laura: I really would rather not do that. Bobbie already suspects that Luke was targeted. She does not know that Victor might be a part of this. Tracy’s in the Netherlands.

Drew: The less they know, the safer they are.

Laura: Exactly.

Drew: Especially because after that scam on the bridge, I mean, Victor now knows I’m coming for him.

Anna: Well, he’ll realize that the walls are closing in on him.

Laura: And anyone he suspects is working to expose him will be in grave danger now.

Nikolas: Because he doesn’t want you in his life?

Victor: Oh, don’t let an old fool project his problems onto your relationship with your son.

Nikolas: I don’t I think it’s just frustration with Valentin. This isn’t the first time that you’ve alluded that something has been eating you up, Uncle Victor.

Ava: Obviously, something important, maybe even dangerous, is — is happening soon.

Nikolas: You’ve made it clear that you couldn’t or — or you wouldn’t discuss it with us, but we are family.

Ava: We can help ease your burden. We — we can’t help you if you don’t share it with us.

Nikolas: Perhaps it’s time that you told us exactly what you’ve been planning since before you got back into town.

Deanna: And your doctor is?

Marshall: Uh, well, he’s — he’s based out of town, but I was treated here by Dr. Rose some months back.

Deanna: I’ll track him down.

Josslyn: Yeah, I know.

Carly: Come here. Alexis is gonna explain to you how the Invader wants to tell your story, okay? If that’s the avenue you want to take. Now, I know afterwards, you and Cameron are supposed to meet with a detective, but if that’s not something you want to do, or if you feel like it’s too much —

Laura: Well, there’s not much to do, really. I mean, his room is ready. I did stop and pick up his favorite madeleines from Eckert’s.

Nikolas: He’ll love that.

Laura: Yeah.

Nikolas: You sure there’s nothing else?

Laura: He’s only been gone a month. But if I’m being completely honest, he shouldn’t be coming back here at all. His home is with you at Wyndemere.

Spencer: Gin. Looks like I reign supreme. Unless you’re letting me win.

Guard: Not my style.

Harmony: Hey. [ Clears throat ] Um, any chance you could spare some time for a fellow inmate?

Harmony: If you don’t want anything to do with Ryan, I completely understand. I mean, I’d steer clear of him, too, if it wasn’t my job.

Spencer: What does he want?

Harmony: Play a game… and to talk.

Spencer: He can’t talk. That’s what being locked in means, right?

Harmony: Well, we’ve developed a workaround, and Ryan communicated with me last night. He’s prepared for a bunch of directions the conversation might take.

Spencer: Wow. That must have been a lot of blinking.

Harmony: Yeah. And, honestly, if you’re not comfortable with it or you have reservations, I —

Spencer: Let’s do it.

Harmony: Are you sure?

Spencer: I’m only gonna be in here for a few more hours. And, quite frankly, I’m gin-rummied out. No offense.

Guard: None taken.

Spencer: White or black?

Harmony: Ryan takes black. You make the first move.

Nikolas: So what did you want to talk about?

Harmony: Ryan says, “you’re welcome.”

Nikolas: I highly doubt Spencer would be on board with living at Wyndemere.

Laura: [ Sighs ] But you two have made some inroads, haven’t you?

Nikolas: We’ve gained some ground, yes, but pushing Spencer to come home would be the surest way to lose it.

Laura: Just bring up the conversation, and we’ll go from there. We need to close ranks, Nikolas. You don’t want to leave Spencer vulnerable to Victor, do you?

Nikolas: Oh, you know I don’t.

Laura: Okay, well, that’s where he’s going to land if he can’t come to you. And if I’m being perfectly honest, his living situation here really can’t go on indefinitely.

Esme: I agree. Which is why I’m moving out.

Carly: It needs to be made clear, not only did Josslyn and Cameron not make the video, they did not release it themselves.

Elizabeth: Absolutely.

Alexis: Got it. That goes without saying. But the number-one priority is for these two to be protected. Now, if you do this, it’s an opportunity for you to take control and frame the narrative. Now, having said that, this is a very big decision. And if you decide that you don’t want to do it, fine. It’s up to you. Now, I assume you might have some questions about the process?

Carly: I have many.

Elizabeth: Yeah, as do I.

Alexis: And I will answer all of them. But, um, right now I’m gonna ask the two of you to step outside for a bit, because I think this conversation will be more productive with fewer participants.

Carly: I’ll be upstairs at the restaurant.

Elizabeth: Text me if you need me, okay?

Alexis: Okay. Let’s hear it.

Ava: Aren’t we lucky that Dr. Ashford is here today, that your dad knows him so well?

Nurse: I’m sorry, uh, but Dr. Rose isn’t in today, but I can help you make an appointment for when he is.

Curtis: How bad is it?

Drew: Are you sure that you want to know?

Curtis: Damn. Is it that bad?

Drew: Not necessarily. No, I’m — I’m just saying that I’m looking at you right now, and it really seems like maybe you don’t want to know this information, which I completely get. I mean, you’ve got your father back in your life, Curtis. That’s something that you never, ever thought was gonna happen, right? I mean, if Alan Quartermaine walked off that elevator right now… …maybe that would be enough for me. Maybe I-I wouldn’t need full disclosure on his faults and his failings and why he made the choices he made. Maybe I’d be happy to know my father in the here and now and just take it from there.

Curtis: So you’re saying I should ignore what’s in the envelope.

Drew: I’m saying that’s completely your call. I’m just pointing out that there’s — there’s no shame in considering your father’s presence a gift and — and taking that gift, no questions asked.

TJ: We’ll take some x-rays to make sure, but it looks like a wrist sprain at most.

Avery: What’s an x-ray?

TJ: It’s when we take really cool pictures of what’s inside your body.

Sonny: Isn’t that cool, baby?

Ava: And — and a sprain, that’s — that would be good news, not the end of the world.

TJ: Mm-hmm.

Avery: Do I still get a lollipop?

TJ: Oh! Man, I am — I’m all out of lollipops today.

Sonny: Hey, hey, you know what? [ Whispering ] I’ll go to the gift shop and get one. Eee!

[ Telephone ringing, indistinct conversations ]

Marshall: I finally figured you out. You’re the type who only learns his lesson the second time around.

Sonny: Is there a problem here?

Marshall: I thought I made myself clear at The Savoy. Don’t come at my family, Sonny.

Sonny: Okay, I think you’re wrong about what was happening then, and I think you’re making a mistake about what’s happening now.

Marshall: No, no, no. There’s no mistake. I saw you talking to TJ over there.

Sonny: Okay. And?

Marshall: He’s my grandson.

Sonny: TJ also happens to be a doctor, and my daughter was injured on the playground. He’s treating her.

Marshall: Sonny.

Sonny: Yeah?

Marshall: This hospital is full of doctors. Find another one, please. I don’t want my grandson associating with the likes of you.

Sonny: Well, I’ll be interested to, uh, find out how you’re going to enforce that. Excuse me.

Carly: Are you even hungry?

Elizabeth: That depends. Are you serving head-on-a-platter?

Carly: I will be when we prove that Esme did this. How is Cameron?

Elizabeth: Uh, he’s mortified, furious, completely and utterly shaken.

Carly: That sounds about right.

Elizabeth: How’s Josslyn doing? She seems to be holding up really well.

Carly: Does she? She’s checking all the boxes, right? Head held high. Determined to stand up for herself. But she has to be putting up a front.

Elizabeth: I mean, how could it not be?

Carly: I don’t care how tough you are. When you’re called a tramp and a slut, it takes its toll. I didn’t want this for Josslyn. You know, I want her to be who she is — confident, strong, come out swinging if need be, but —

Elizabeth: Just without people calling her names.

Carly: Why did this happen?

Elizabeth: I don’t know. But I can tell you this — Josslyn’s gonna be okay.

Carly: Yeah? How can you be so sure?

Elizabeth: She’s got you.

Josslyn: So once it’s established that this tape was made and posted without our consent —

Alexis: Which is illegal, and I cannot stress that enough. Revenge porn and filming someone without their consent is a misdemeanor and felony, respectively.

Josslyn: Okay. And will there be any mention of Esme?

Alexis: We can only make general references to a person, who is unnamed, thought to be responsible. So without evidence from the PCU or from the police, any allegations made to a specific wrongdoer is — is libelous.

Josslyn: And what about mentions of me and Cam?

Alexis: Typically, pseudonyms are used in cases like this.

Cameron: But that won’t stop other papers from using our names.

Alexis: Given how young you are, respected news organizations will most likely follow our lead and not identify you.

Cameron: Okay, but what about the non-respected ones? I mean, they’re gonna be all over this because Joss is Sonny’s stepdaughter.

Josslyn: Okay, so, I mean, if our real names are gonna get out there, why even use the pseudonyms? I mean, maybe we just start with our real names.

Cameron: Or maybe we don’t even do this at all.

Esme: I vacuumed, made the bed, and scoured the bathroom. It’ll be like I was never here.

Nikolas: Spencer will be heartbroken to come home and find you gone. And I’m guessing you’ll be feeling the same way.

Esme: I just don’t know.

Nikolas: How’s this? Stay until he gets here, please? Then you can decide next steps together.

Laura: Why don’t you go pick up Spencer, and then Esme and i can have a chance to talk?

Nikolas: Work your magic.

Laura: So just the two of us now. Why don’t you tell me what’s really going on?

Spencer: And what am I supposedly grateful for?

Harmony: “You and your girlfriend exploited my name and reputation, using it to further your own ends, ends that saw ava hurt. I didn’t stop you.”

Spencer: Why should you have? Your name entered the public domain like 10 murders ago.

Harmony: [ Sighs ] “And it was all for nothing. Ava and Nikolas are still together, and you’re out in the cold, I hear, abandoned even by your own girlfriend.”

Spencer: Should’ve spent my last hour doing pottery.

Harmony: [ Sighs ] “It doesn’t have to be this way. You still have one friend.”

Spencer: Who?

Harmony: “Me.”

TJ: Just a moderate sprain. Needs an elastic bandage and some ice.

Sonny: And… this.

Ava: Alright. What do you say?

Avery: Thank you.

Sonny: Don’t tell Epiphany.

TJ: The best in the business after Epiphany.

Ava: Smart guy.

Sonny: Hey, um, thank you for checking her out.

TJ: Anytime. Could I talk to you for a quick second?

Sonny: Yeah.

Ava: Alright, let’s see. Ooh, you got watermelon. Dad knows that’s your favorite, huh, you very lucky girl?

TJ: I saw you with my grandfather. Is everything okay?

Sonny: I-I-I have no problem with Marshall.

TJ: Take care of that arm, Avery.

Avery: I will.

Ava: So, hey, I have an idea. How about after you’re all patched up, we head over to Kelly’s and get some ice cream?

Avery: Yeah. Can mama Carly come, too?

Drew: Yep. How can I, in good conscience, open the door to my life to let Marshall in without knowing what’s gonna follow him inside?

Drew: Sounds like you made up your mind.

Curtis: Can’t look the other way. I have to know everything about that man before I let him get any closer.

[ Envelope rustles ]

Harmony: [ Sighs ] Um… “we’re on the same team. Neither of us want your father with Ava. But only one of us still has the power to act. Will you use it?” Checkmate.

Laura: Well, you were right. That bathroom is absolutely spotless.

Esme: You almost sound disappointed.

Laura: You know, I like an easy call, and for a minute there, I thought I had you all figured out. I-I actually thought you were bad for Spencer and that it was only a matter of time before he figured it out.

Esme: And bye-bye, Esme.

Laura: Well, yes, but that’s not what happened. I mean, the two of you became even closer, and then I saw you encourage him to reconcile with his father. So as it turns out, you are by no means an easy call.

Esme: Are you saying you were wrong about me?

Josslyn: So you don’t want to do the article?

Cameron: I just think that we should consider all of our options before going public.

Josslyn: Well, it’s already public, Cam. That’s kind of the whole point.

Cameron: Okay, but if we keep talking about it, everyone’s gonna keep talking about it. Maybe if we stay quiet, this will blow over.

Josslyn: That’s easy for you to say. You’re big man on campus. Meanwhile, I’m being tagged as a slut on social media.

Cameron: Look, Joss, that’s not what I meant. I know that this is harder on you, I really do.

Alexis: Alright, listen. I am not doing this feature to make money. I’m doing it because I think it can do some real good. But you both have to be on board. And if you decide that the downside is just too great, I fully understand. This is a really hard thing to do. I will follow your lead, and in the meantime, I’m gonna give you some time to talk about it.

Elizabeth: You know, I used to consider myself lucky that I only had boys.

Carly: Really? You never dreamed of a little girl?

Elizabeth: Oh, no, never. The thought terrified me. I convinced myself that if I had a little girl, I would have to build up walls around her, roll her in bubble wrap.

Carly: Don’t think I haven’t tried.

Elizabeth: Anything to protect her so she wouldn’t get hurt.

Carly: Like you did?

Elizabeth: That night changed everything for me. But now that I have Violet in my life, I realize I had it all wrong. I hope that she’s raised the same way you’re raising Josslyn, to be a strong, fierce, proactive young woman.

Carly: I’m sorry.

Elizabeth: Yes? I just paid you a compliment.

Carly: I thought my ears were playing tricks on me.

Elizabeth: [ Laughs ] We have our differences.

Carly: We do.

Elizabeth: But you did a hell of a job raising your daughter.

Laura: How about this? How about we say that you’ve shown so much growth that I am willing to reconsider my initial evaluation?

Esme: Unfortunately, it’s a little too late.

Laura: Are things really that bad with you and Spencer? I just find that so hard to believe.

Esme: Why?

Laura: Because I can see that your opinion has weight with him. He listens to you. He takes your words to heart. I know he adores you. I’ve seen the way he looks at you.

Esme: Have you seen the way he looks at Trina?

Laura: Ah. Okay, now I understand.

Esme: It’s been that way since the moment I met her. I was looking for Spencer at Wyndemere, and I found him alone with her. It was obvious I was interrupting something. First, I chalked it up to my own insecurity, but now it’s just too obvious to ignore. The person I crossed an ocean for… …the only guy I’ve ever loved has fallen for someone else. Now I’m leaving spence behind before he and his friends can leave me with nothing.

Ava: Uh, y-you haven’t seen a lot of — of Carly lately, have you? Well, you know, I don’t know if she’s available right now, but I will certainly call her and ask her, okay?

Sonny: And you know what, sweetie? If Carly’s not free, we’ll schedule a play date. Right? And I — and I know that things have — there have been a lot of changes. But I’m gonna tell you something. Marshall: Look, if I — I sounded put out, it — it’s my fault. I should have called before I came.

TJ: Or maybe you’re not upset because you couldn’t see your doctor. Maybe you’re upset because Sonny corinthos got under your skin.

Elizabeth: [ Sighs ] I have to admit, in the beginning, I was rooting for Cameron and Trina to get together.

Carly: Oh. As opposed to Cameron and Joss.

Elizabeth: Well, I was just… worried that Josslyn might be…

Elizabeth: But now I realize she’s exactly who I want Cameron to be with. She’s smart and independent and fiercely loyal to the people she cares about. I know I keep using the word “fierce,” but it’s just true.

Carly: And Cameron isn’t afraid of Josslyn’s fierceness.

Elizabeth: Oh. Just the opposite. He’s drawn towards it. And more than that, he respects it.

Carly: Okay, well, if we’re throwing out compliments, I have some. Cameron’s a great kid, and he respects women because you taught him to.

Elizabeth: It’s kind of ironic, isn’t it?

Carly: What is?

Elizabeth: Well, respect hasn’t really always been my thing. You should know that better than anyone.

Elizabeth: Grow up, Carly. We have a baby’s welfare to consider, not to mention Lucky and anyone else involved.

Carly: You trashed your marriage because you slept around on your husband.

Elizabeth: [ Scoffs ] This coming from you, the town whore?

Josslyn: Really? Because I feel like that’s all I do. And guess what? We don’t have the power to slow it down. I mean, we’ve already gotten e-mails requesting comment from the PCU paper. You think it’ll stop there?

Cameron: I-it could. I mean, maybe if we keep our heads down, something else will happen and take the attention away from us.

Josslyn: And then what? You heard Alexis, cam. What happened to us was a crime. And sitting in the dark hiding just makes me feel like more of a victim, and I don’t want that. And I don’t want people to think I’m ashamed, because I’m not. We didn’t do anything wrong.

Cameron: No, we didn’t.

Josslyn: We had sex because we love each other. I love you.

Cameron: I love you, too.

Josslyn: So I’m not gonna let Esme and some internet creepers turn this into something ugly.

Cameron: Look, Joss, I just — I don’t want you to get hurt.

Alexis: I want you to meet Alicia Gallego. This is Josslyn Jacks and Cameron Webber.

Alicia: Nice to meet you both.

Alexis: Alicia’s one of our best reporters. And I don’t mean to pressure you, but we are reaching a deadline for tomorrow’s issue. And if we’re gonna stay ahead of this, this story needs to be in said issue. All by way of saying, have you reached a decision?

Esme: To spence’s friends, I’m toxic, and I’m afraid they finally convinced him to agree.

Laura: So you’re leaving?

Esme: I refuse to stick around for scapegoat duty.

Laura: Even if it means giving up Spencer?

Esme: What would you do in my position? Fight to hold onto a guy who’s into someone else?

Laura: [ Sighs ] I-I would have to think twice.

Esme: But I bet you’ve never had to. I bet you’ve always been the first in the eyes of the one you loved. I’m lucky if anyone sees me at all. Spence did. Not anymore.

Laura: You don’t know that.

Esme: Yes, I do.

Esme: Are you 100% certain? No. Okay. So you asked me what I would do in your position. I think I’d want to know that it was really over before I walked away.

Esme: I don’t even know why we’re discussing this. I mean, what difference does it make to you whether spence is with me or he isn’t?

Laura: Actually… it makes more difference than you know.

Nikolas: Avery had a little playground accident. Ava had to take her to the hospital.

Spencer: How badly is Avery hurt?

Nikolas: Ava doesn’t think it’s serious, but she just wanted to make sure.

Spencer: It’s good that Ava’s focused on Avery. She’ll be torturing me soon enough.

Nikolas: Spencer.

Spencer: We can’t forget that ava is in charge of my restitution.

Nikolas: Let’s start out this way.

Spencer: What way?

Nikolas: You know exactly what I mean. We haven’t even left this place, and we’re already at odds over Ava.

Spencer: When are we not?

Nikolas: You know, walking out those doors doesn’t erase anything. You still have a lot of work ahead to make up for the pain you caused. And you need all the allies you can get.

Spencer: Oh, I see. So I either toe the line or you and ava cut me loose. No. I’ve been there. I’ve done that.

Nikolas: No. I just — I wish you would see your release the way that I do. It’s an opportunity for a fresh start for all of us.

Spencer: Let’s just focus on us, okay? We can worry about the subject of Ava later.

Nikolas: [ Sighs ] I’ll take what I can get. Should we get you processed and out of here?

Elizabeth: The name-calling we did…

Carly: Mm.

Elizabeth: …Seems a lot worse now, doesn’t it?

Carly: In light of what the kids are going through?

Elizabeth: Mm-hmm.

Carly: Yeah, it feels like the universe is dishing out some serious karma. I mean, you and I — ugh, we said some nasty things to each other, and I just feel like Josslyn and Cam are paying the price.

Elizabeth: Well, I’m — I don’t know. I just think they’re being tested. And where we failed as young adults, they’ll succeed.

Carly: You sound confident.

Elizabeth: I am. Because you and I have raised two fundamentally decent humans. It’s not gonna protect them from getting hurt.

Carly: No, but it’ll give them tools on how to handle it.

Elizabeth: Exactly. They’re gonna take whatever’s thrown at them and just keep on going.

Carly: Just like we did. Hopefully with a lot less drama.

Elizabeth: Oh, God. Please. Way less.

[ Both laugh ]

Ava: Oh. So I, um — I take it there was a little hiccup with you and — and Curtis’ father?

Sonny: You don’t miss a beat, do you?

Ava: Hmm. Let’s just say I’m attuned to your moods.

Sonny: Well, it wasn’t really a hiccup. It was just a — a communication problem.

Ava: Not on your part, though. I-I say that because I heard that you were communicating quite a bit, uh, on Nina’s behalf.

Sonny: On Wiley’s behalf.

Ava: Whichever. It’s a side of you that I’m not often privy to. Optimistic and sociable. I like it. It’s becoming. I hope I see more of it.

Marshall: I’ve crossed paths with men like Sonny Corinthos before.

TJ: Then you should know he is no one to mess with.

Marshall: Yeah. Yeah. You seem pretty chummy with him.

TJ: We go way back. Sonny was there for me when I really needed it.

TJ: No, it’s not like that.

Josslyn: Yeah, we already spoke with the reporter. We’re not hiding. We’re gonna stand up for ourselves.

Carly: Good for you. Good for both of you.

Lopez: Cameron Webber and Josslyn Jacks?

Josslyn: Yes.

Lopez: I’m detective Lopez with the PCPD. Ready to give your statements?

Josslyn: Yeah, we’re ready.

Drew: I went there, too. But maybe witness protection services doesn’t extend abroad.

It’s very clear to me that Victor is up to no good, which will most certainly blow back on my son and my grandson. Now, whatever issues you’re having, I know that you really care about Spencer. And right now, he needs everybody he can get in his corner. And especially the ones who have sway with him.

Esme: So if I can help keep Spence away from Victor, you’ll… overlook my issues? And what happens if I’m not willing to overlook Spence’s?

Brook Lynn: Oh, you’ll figure it out. I just cannot believe you have not had coffee. That’s the first thing I’d do in the morning — after Miss Bailey’s bottle, of course.

Maxie: Oh, no, no, no. [ Laughs ] I brew my first cup as soon as I wake up. Perks is my first latte.

Brook Lynn: Ah, got it. [ Laughs ]

Maxie: You should go see Bailey at daycare. I’m sure she misses you.

Brook Lynn: Yeah, thanks. I will. I miss her.

Maxie: How are you doing? I mean, I haven’t seen you since you got back.

Portia: [ Laughs ] We got a beach house.

Brook Lynn: You are correct. Look, life is not exactly great at the moment, okay? But how could I complain after everything you went through all those months and months?

Maxie: Hey, you didn’t exactly have it easy, okay? People have been judging you and giving you grief.

Brook Lynn: Well, I would do it all again to protect that baby girl. I am just so thankful that Bailey is safe and that Peter is finally gone.

Maxie: Yeah, she’s safe because of how you love and protected her. I’m never gonna forget that.

Brook Lynn: Don’t give me all the credit. Chase helped, too.

Maxie: Have you, uh, seen him since you got back?

Brook Lynn: Um, yeah, he stopped by the house.

Maxie: Oh, did he? What was so important that he just had to rush right over?

Chase: I actually have a legit reason for being here completely unrelated to Brook Lynn. You are looking at the organizer of this year’s community softball league.

Finn: Congratulations.

Chase: Thanks. I volunteered. Can I put you down for a team?

Finn: If you must.

Chase: Oh, and, uh, furthermore, can I get you to spread the word around here, get your colleagues to sign up?

Finn: You might want to recruit someone that’s a little more of a people person. I’m not really the best choice to be rallying the troops.

Chase: Well, I talked to Elizabeth, but I figured she’d be busy with Jake.

Finn: Well, good news on that front. Jake’s innocent. He has an alibi.

Chase: Wow, what a relief. W-where was he?

Finn: Library.

Chase: Why wouldn’t he just say that in the first place?

Finn: I guess he didn’t want Elizabeth knowing he was video conferencing with his grandparents.

Chase: Elizabeth’s parents? Why is that a problem?

Finn: I couldn’t tell you. All I know is, Elizabeth is determined to keep her parents out of her life.

Epiphany: Well, they look happy.

Marshall: That they do.

Epiphany: [ Chuckles ] You want to go say hello?

Marshall: No, no. I, uh — I don’t want to be pushy.

Epiphany: You’ve been pushy about getting me into your band.

Marshall: Well, that’s just common sense. You know, we could have a lot of fun playing music together.

Epiphany: Mm-hmm.

[ Both laugh ]

Marshall: I wonder what they’re celebrating.

Portia: [ Laughter ]

Dante: I will, uh, send someone over to the library, get them to check the computer logs, be sure we can confirm Jake’s story. But I’m very relieved to hear that.

Elizabeth: Yeah. I know. Me too. But now that we’ve ruled out Jake and Betsy, we’re back to square one. And I certainly don’t like knowing that somebody’s been in and out of my house doing all these creepy things.

Dante: Right. Um… but, you know, you do have that key hidden outside that allows access to your house pretty easily.

Elizabeth: I know. I-I-I’ve removed the key. I’ve changed the locks, and a security system is being put in today.

Dante: Oh, good. Okay. I’m gonna make sure there’s a patrol car going by the house every day, too.

Elizabeth: Thank you.

Dante: Yeah.

Elizabeth: Um, I’m also here on another matter. It concerns Cameron. Apparently, there is a video going around.

Dante: Yeah. Yeah, I’m aware of the video with Cam and Joss. Actually, Michael was just arrested for assaulting the tabloid reporter who asked him about it.

Selina: We have no problem. In fact, I’ve found our collaboration very beneficial, so far. I hope you feel the same.

Sonny: Well, th– you know, I was surprised ’cause everything was going smoothly when you asked to meet with me. What’s so urgent?

Selina: We used to be the five families. Right. Now we are two.

Sonny: Uh-huh.

Selina: Corinthos and Wu. And since our territories are consolidated, it’s only natural that our business interests would overlap more than previously.

Sonny: Cut to the Chase. What do you want?

Selina: Use of the Port Charles harbor. Of course, you’d get a cut of any business I do in your territory.

Sonny: [ Chuckles ] Ah. Yeah, I could consider that. But you gotta play by my rules.

Brook Lynn: Chase stopped by to drop off a few things I left at the beach house. Okay, more than a few.

Maxie: Poor Chase. He seemed so lost while you were gone.

Brook Lynn: Yeah, I’m sure he’s missing Bailey. His suspension’s also weighing on him.

Maxie: Yeah — yeah, all of that is true, but I don’t think Bailey’s the only person he’s been missing.

Brook Lynn: Look, Chase has made it clear that we are friends, which is exactly how I want it. Where’s Lucy, by the way? Deception’s about to go public, and we haven’t even finished planning the party.

Maxie: Lucy’s wrapping up some real estate business or whatever. What’s in there?

Brook Lynn: Oh, nothing. It’s just my songbook. Chase found it at the, um — the beach house.

Maxie: You’re writing songs again?

Brook Lynn: No, no. [ Laughs ] Not exactly. I haven’t been able to look at them since, um, Nelle attacked me. I just couldn’t face it. I thought I shouldn’t write anymore since I can’t sing anymore.

Maxie: But you’ve changed your mind?

Brook Lynn: Well, Chase thinks other people might want to sing them. Says they’re pretty good.

Maxie: Oh, does he? Oh, that’s very friendly of him.

Chase: Wait, does this mean “the pause” is over? You and Elizabeth can get back together?

Finn: We haven’t talked about it yet.

Chase: Well, what’s stopping the two of you?

Finn: I think Elizabeth got a little spooked, certainly with all the craziness going on and also with the speed in which things happened with us. It’s been a little over a year since she lost her husband. They’re still a family in mourning.

Chase: I mean, I get it. I can see how all those Franco-centric events might have kicked up some doubts and sensitivities for Elizabeth. But has anything happened since the portrait?

Finn: No, nothing.

Chase: So, maybe it’s all over.

Finn: Whether it is or isn’t… I’m not giving up on my relationship with Elizabeth without a fight.

Elizabeth: So, what happens now?

Dante: Well, Michael will be arraigned this morning. He’ll probably make bail and have his day in court. But I-I-I’m telling you this because you and the boys, you’ve gotta be careful. This guy, Smoltz, he’s a real piece of garbage, and he’s not gonna let this story go.

Elizabeth: But this was an invasion of a very private moment. This isn’t news — it’s smut. And it was intrusive and hurtful.

Dante: Right, and I agree with you, but it is news to them because of Josslyn’s connection to Sonny. The Corinthos name is clickbait. And — and you have to remember that Cam and Joss are consenting adults now. So technically, he is allowed to go after them.

Elizabeth: God, haven’t those kids suffered enough? What about the person responsible for the video? Are you going after them?

Dante: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Of course, we are. Totally. And the PCU is also conducting their own investigation.

Elizabeth: Yeah, but how long is that gonna take?

Dante: I don’t know.

Elizabeth: I mean, what else can we do?

Dante: Really? Um, stay cool. Don’t punch any reporters in the face. If they ask any questions, just keep walking, say “no comment,” and hopefully they’ll get bored and move on to something else soon.

Elizabeth: Easier said than done. Yeah. Well, like you said, the Corinthos name is clickbait. If this becomes a story about a kingpin’s stepdaughter…

Dante: Well, you know what? I am gonna talk to Sonny and tell him he’s gotta stay out of it.

Elizabeth: Good luck with that. We both know no one tells Sonny what to do.

Selina: That’s been your policy for decades. It’s not a problem for me.

Sonny: Okay, I’m gonna need advance notice on all your traffic, and I’m also gonna choose the point person to facilitate the process.

Sonny: Those are my terms.

Selina: Then I agree.

Sonny:  I also need to hear from you at least 48 hours before the first shipment.

Selina: Of course. I’ll make sure there are no disruptions on my end.

Sonny: I’m counting on it. Anything else?

Selina: One other matter. I heard about your son Michael’s arrest. So vexing.

Sonny: Okay. Michael is my problem. You take care of your family. I’ll take care of mine.

Selina: Oh, I do. I promise. I keep a very close eye on my family.

Brad: Now we need to list the qualities you want in a man.

Britt: [ Groans, sighs ] Smart. Resourceful. Resilient. Not too self-absorbed. Someone aware that there’s a world out there that’s bigger than him and his workout routine or his career path.        [ Sighs ] He needs to be sexy. Maybe even a little dangerous. But someone that I can rely on.

Brad: With a leather jacket and a motorcycle?

Britt: That’s a low blow.

Brad: I’m sorry. I’m sure Jason Morgan will be a hard act to follow. But [Hisses through teeth] Guy wasn’t perfect.

Britt: Just perfect for me.

Brad: What if we try for, uh, sexy and resourceful, but with a little fashion sense? And maybe loves to dance. Oh, and knows good wine.

Britt: Are we still looking for me? [ Laughs ]

Brad: Trust me, I don’t want a man right now, especially with Aunt Selina circling. But you know what I really want? A job. So, how goes it, bestie? Any luck finding me a gig here at GH?

Epiphany: You, um, got me thinking. And… [ Sighs ] …I’m going to take the MCATs.

Marshall: Good.

Epiphany: [ Laughing ] Oh, my —

Marshall: Wonderful! Well, I’m going to order us a round of mimosas.

Epiphany: Mm. [ Laughs ]

Portia: I took your advice. I stopped pushing Trina to stay away from Spencer.

Portia: And I do — I do. I’m glad that Trina’s learning how to live life on her own. I want that for her. But it’s times like these that I wish I could just knock on her bedroom door, poke my head in there [Laughs] Ask her how her day was. And she would confide in me. And we just…talked. No matter the age, parenting is hard.

Finn: Did you just say “cute”?

Chase: And I’m impressed to see you go after what you want.

Finn: Well, it’s good that you can still be…friends.

Chase: Totally. I mean, why wouldn’t we be? I mean, I’m sure we’ll be hanging out again — eventually. We’re still movie buddies — although she can be a little possessive over the popcorn.

Finn: And you’re fine with that? The “buddy” part?

Chase: Totally.

Finn: Mm-hmm.

Chase: Why wouldn’t I be? I mean, it’s time I… get back to living my own life.

Maxie: I got a text from Sasha. She’s extending her time away. Kind of surprising.

Brook Lynn: Ahhh.

Maxie: Hey.

Lucy: So, you haven’t heard.

Maxie: Heard what?

Lucy: [ Laughs ] Sasha and Brando got married.

Brook Lynn: [ Gasps ] [ Exhales sharply ]

Brad: Wait. None of these are lab positions.

Britt: We’ve been over this, Brad. Terry is co-chief of staff. I mean, we make hiring decisions together. There’s no way she’ll agree to let me hire you to work in a lab where you could tamper with test results. Given your history, the liability would be too high. I’m sorry, but that’s just reality.

Brad: There’s reality, a-and then there’s “food service coordinator.”

Britt: Did I include that? It should be “food service aid.” You don’t have the qualifications to be a coordinator. But you — you could be promoted.

Brad: [ Exhales sharply ]

Sonny: No, he said that he was protecting his sister and then some reporter was harassing her. Is that because of me and Carly or what?

Dante: Uh, not directly, no.

Sonny: What you mean, “not directly”? Well, what I mean is that the reporter wanted a headline with the name Corinthos in it, so he went after Michael because… there’s a video… with Josslyn and Cameron Webber.

Epiphany: I just hope that I am not fooling myself thinking that I can juggle med school with my job. Becoming a-a doctor is a major endeavor, and… I will have to work while I’m in school. If I get in.

Marshall: Oh, you’ll be accepted. You will. I bet you know half that stuff already. How many young doctors have you trained?

Epiphany: Quite a few. [ Chuckles ]

Marshall: Mm-hmm. There you are. There you are. You got this, girl.

Epiphany: Maybe you should get a job as a hype man.

Marshall: No hype. No hype needed. I believe in you.

Portia: So, how are things going with you and your father these days?

Curtis: Cautiously optimistic. Things are sure looking cozy with him and Epiphany.

Portia: Mm-hmm. Maybe Epiphany would be good for Marshall.

Curtis: Yeah, but… would Marshall be good for Epiphany?

Epiphany: Part of me expects people to laugh and tell me I’m crazy for putting myself through this rigor after all this time.

Marshall: I understand too well about not having faith in yourself. But you’re strong. You’re strong enough to face these things.

Curtis: I hope you two…

Marshall: hmm? Oh.

Curtis: …are enjoying your morning.

Marshall: Even more so now that you’re here.

Epiphany: [ Chuckles ]

Marshall: I see you and Portia are celebrating.

Curtis: Yeah, we just closed on a house.

Epiphany: Oh! [ Laughing ]

Marshall: Whoa! Well, that is good news! Come here, man! Well done!

Epiphany: Oh, boy. You know what? I think that I am gonna go and offer Portia my congratulations. Have a seat, Curtis.

Marshall: Absolutely.

Curtis: Oh, let me — I-I-I don’t mean to interrupt.

Epiphany: No, no, baby. It’s okay. All right.

Marshall: [ Chuckles ]

Curtis: [ Chuckles ]

Marshall: No, no, no. You, uh — you didn’t interrupt. Epiphany? She’ll definitely be back. I ain’t even worried about that.

Curtis: Okay. A little — little cocky, aren’t you?

Marshall: Well, you know, it’s called swagger, son.

[ Both laugh ]

Epiphany: Curtis told us about the house. Congratulations.

Portia: Aww.

Epiphany: You must be excited.

Portia: Yes, thank you so much.

Epiphany: [ Laughs ]

Portia: And I admit, it’s a huge step.

Epiphany: Mm-hmm.

Portia: But it feels right. And sometimes, you’ve just gotta go for it.

Epiphany: I know the feeling.

Portia: Wait, wait. A-are you saying that you and Marshall are starting to get serious?

Epiphany: [ Gasps ] Oh. No, no, no, no, no, no. We just enjoy spending time together. [ Laughs ] I don’t think either one of us is interested in anything serious.

Curtis: I’m not buying this lack of confidence routine. You’re Marshall Ashford. You’re a musician. I’m quite sure you’ve got plenty of game.

Marshall: I do.

Curtis: [ Laughs ]

Marshall: Yes, I’ve — I’ve been a player. But I don’t want that for Epiphany. I like her. I, uh — I respect her. I don’t know, maybe — maybe I just want to romance her.

Curtis: Okay.

Marshall: Yeah. You know, maybe that’s why I — I feel so much out of my depth. And I admire what you have with Portia. Wish I could build a meaningful relationship like that.

Maxie: Sasha didn’t even tell us. I don’t know how I feel about that.

Brook Lynn: I didn’t even know that she and Brando were talking marriage. She never even mentioned it.

Lucy: You know, I’m not sure they really were.

Maxie: Yeah, but why was Gladys hell-bent on stopping them? I thought she and Sasha were on better terms. I mean, Gladys really stepped up when they lost little Liam.

Lucy: Right, so I don’t — I don’t think it was about Gladys not liking Sasha. I think it was that Gladys just thought it was all happening really fast.

Maxie: Brando and Sasha have been together for a year.

Brook Lynn: I can’t believe I’m saying this, but Gladys kind of has a point. Sasha and Brando just lost their baby. They’re still reeling.

Maxie: Right. But sometimes, an intense emotional experience can really bring two people together. I trust Sasha and Brando’s bond, and I have faith that their relationship will only deepen from here.

Finn: How’s Jake?

Elizabeth: Um, well, somewhere in between being righteously indignant and mortified. I was able to convince him that I’m not angry with him for wanting to communicate with his grandparents. However, I’m furious with my mom and dad for encouraging him to keep secrets. But what really bothers me is how upset Jake is that I thought he was behind all of these strange happenings. Not that I blame him.

Finn: Don’t be so hard on yourself.

Elizabeth: Yeah, well… I really appreciate all the help you’ve given me with the boys. And — and now, there’s this thing going on with Cameron. [ Stammers ] We don’t have to talk about it right now.

Finn: I want to. I mean, whatever we… whatever we are, whatever we — we become… …I want to be there for you. Because I think we’re stronger when we’re together. I know I am. So I’m gonna be by your side for whatever comes next. I know I just said “whatever” way too many times, but I need you to know… …you’re not alone anymore. I mean, there’s probably times you’re gonna be on your own, but not necessarily alone.

Elizabeth: Finn?

Finn: Yeah?

Elizabeth: Kiss me.

Finn: Okay.

Curtis: It’s like any relationship. If you want it to work, gotta be real with each other.

Marshall: Is this about you or Epiphany?

Curtis: Ah, both. But we’re talking about Epiphany. Let her see who you really are.

Marshall: [ Chuckles ] Oh, no, no, no. No one wants to see that.

Curtis: What are you, a werewolf or something?

Marshall: [ Growls ]

Curtis: Right, right. Okay. But — no, no. I mean, I’m serious. Instead of trying to be who you think she wants you to be, show her who you really are.

Marshall: I could have used that advice on one of my first dates with your mother. I took her to a skating rink.

Curtis: Oh, Mom loved to skate.

Marshall: Yes, she did. And she was very good at it — much better than me. But I couldn’t let her know about that. So — so there I was. Trying to be smooth, right?

Curtis: [ Laughs ]

Marshall: I’m rapping to her. I’m talking more smack than actual skating. Then her favorite song came on. Man, and out to the rink we went. I get out there. I tried to — I tried to bust a move. Next thing I know, I’m doing a James Brown split —

Curtis: Oh, no.

Marshall: Blap! On the ice. And, oh, man, that split went right up the back of my pants.

Curtis: You’re kidding.

Marshall: I busted ’em wide open, man!

Curtis: Oh, no, no.

[ Both laugh ]

Marshall: Mm.

Curtis: Ahh. I-I never knew any of that. Mom never — she never mentioned this.

Marshall: I loved your mother. I really did, Curtis.

Britt: What about “clinical patient advocate”?

Brad: I assumed that was a joke. Who’d want me at a patient’s bedside?

Britt: Did you even read the job description? It’s technical. It’s not warm and fuzzy.

Brad: What do you mean?

Britt: You’d explain lab test results. You’d guide the patient through essential versus nonessential tests and procedures.

Brad: Wait a minute. I could do that.

Britt: Uh, yeah.

Brad: You mean, I can do that? For real?

Britt: You’re hired! Uh, w– pending Terry’s approval.

Brad: [ Laughs ] Ooh, you’re the best. What would I do without you?

Selina: Interesting question.

Sonny: What’s this reporter’s name, and where do I find him?

Dante: No, no. You don’t find anybody. You’re gonna stand down. The — the reporter wants you involved. That’s why he went after Michael in the first place.

Sonny: You want me to s-sit back and do nothing while somebody put a camera in my cabin? Released a video to embarrass Cam and Josslyn? You’d better figure this out real quick, ’cause I’m putting an end to it.

Dante: No, you’re not. You’re not gonna do anything. I’ve got this. Spinelli’s already taken the video off of all the public sites. He’s gone through your cabin. There is no camera there, okay? I’m not gonna let this drop, all right?

Sonny: How’s Josslyn?

Dante: I don’t know. I haven’t talked to Josslyn. But Carly says she’s devastated — obviously. I mean, I can’t believe Michael didn’t tell you about this.

Sonny: Michael says that, uh, Josslyn’s not my family anymore.

Dante: Wow. Okay, so things have gotten worse, not better between you two.

Sonny: I haven’t seen Michael this angry since he went after custody of Avery. He says that I’m choosing Nina over my family.

Dante: Are you?

Elizabeth: I came here to tell you the exact same thing. I think we’re better together.

Finn: Really?

Elizabeth: Really.

Finn: And here I thought it was my speech that changed the tide. You know, I h– I had more. I mean, really, really good stuff.

Elizabeth: I’m happy to hear more.

Finn: I like your approach better.

Lucy: I think that we should throw Brando and Sasha a “happy wedding” party as soon as they get back.

Maxie: I am all for it. But I agree with Brook Lynn, and she’s been saying all morning we need to focus on our own party, because the IPO is coming up fast.

Brook Lynn: Thank you.

Maxie: And it can’t be some cookie cutter launch party, okay? It needs to be something that gets people talking about Deception. I want to make a splash.

Brook Lynn: I vote live music. We have a venue that can handle it.

Lucy: Ooh, I love that. Okay, string quartet. Eh, very classy, but kind of stuffy, huh? And I don’t want some wedding band, you know, that just plays horrible covers.

Maxie: What about an original song?

Lucy: Wow, that would be great, but it’s awfully tight. I don’t think we have time to hire a composer that could come up with some sort of arrangement for us.

Maxie: What if we don’t have to do that?

Brook Lynn: I may have some songs that might work.

Lucy: You’re a songwriter?

Maxie: She’s phenomenal.

Lucy: O-okay. But then, I mean, who would we have sing? Because, I mean, I know you can’t. You could have Amy, but I’m not gonna have lip synching again.

Maxie: Lucy!

Brook Lynn: It’s okay. Look, I know what I did. I was desperate after my injury. But I have come to terms with the fact that I can’t sing anymore, because now I know I don’t have to give up music altogether. I’m a songwriter.

Epiphany: I’m gonna trust you with something I’m not quite ready to let out yet. I’ve decided to take the MCATs.

Portia: [ Gasps ] What? With all your nursing experience?

Epiphany: I know, I know. It just doesn’t —

Portia: I-I had no idea. Epiphany, you’re gonna be an amazing doctor.

Epiphany: You really think so?

Portia: I know so. In fact, why don’t you let me mentor you? I can help you study for the MCATs.

Epiphany: Yes, please.

[ Both chuckle ]

Curtis: Wait, wait, wait, wait. You turned down an opportunity to play with Dexter Gordon to take mom to see Aunt Stella out in California?

Marshall: I knew how much Irene was missing her sister, and I wanted to make that happen. She said that’s what sealed the deal. She knew I-I really loved her. I did. It’s been a long time since I felt anything close like that with anyone else.

Curtis: Except now? With Epiphany?

Marshall: No. No, not yet. But I-I feel potential. She’s strong. She — she’s kind. She’s resourceful, straightforward, fun. She doesn’t judge anyone. She takes people just the way they come.

Curtis: All the more reason why you should be real with her. I mean, I hear you. I feel the same way about Portia. I’m so excited we’re taking this next step.

Marshall: I’m excited for you, too.

Curtis: [ Chuckles ]

Marshall: And I’m — I’m really glad to see you so happy.

Brad: Uh, Aunt Selina, you’re back. H-h-how’d you find me?

Selina: I was looking for Dr. Westbourne.

Britt: What can I do for you, Ms. Wu?

Selina: Since Bradley insists on keeping you in his life, I have decided to get to know you better.

Britt: Well, you can start by noting that I prefer to say “come in” before people enter my office.

Selina: Noted. Are you free for lunch?

Britt: I’m sorry. I can’t today.

Selina: Oh, perhaps you should consult your calendar.

Britt: I don’t need to. I know my schedule.

Brad: H-having lunch together sounds great, but it might be a little hard to sync up. I mean, you’re so busy, and Britt’s working all sorts of hours. I-I’m gonna be busy soon, too. Uh, Britt just offered me a job here at GH.

Selina: That’s kind of you, but unnecessary. My nephew is working for me.

Sonny: Are you really asking me that?

Dante: Yeah, I am asking you that. I wanna know what the hell’s going on. Michael’s upset with you for cheating on Carly with Nina. I know that, but is something else happening?

Sonny: I’m just trying to talk some sense into Michael about Nina seeing Wiley. I think everybody would be a lot happier if — if — if Nina and Michael weren’t at each other’s throats. Now, Nina… wants to go to court for visitation rights. It — you know, it — she’s Wiley’s grandmother, so that’s not gonna change. I’m just trying to, you know, make sure this all goes away so I can just have my family back.

Dante: I understand that, but you, of all people, should know that that’s not gonna be that easy.

Sonny: W-what is that supposed to mean?

Dante: [ Scoffs ] Well, dad, you — you’re not exactly known for your ability to forgive. Where do you think Michael got it from?

Sonny: I just don’t know — I don’t like being at odds with Michael like this.

Dante: Honestly, I don’t think he likes being at odds with you, either. He loves you. But he’s — he’s angry. I’m sure he would love to forgive you, but it’s — it’s just gonna take time. It’s not gonna happen overnight. You gotta — you gotta put in the work.

Sonny: I just — I tell you, I just picked the — the wrong time to stop drinking.

Dante: You stopped dri– why? Why? Something going on?

Sonny: After Carly asked for a divorce, um… I just started drinking a lot more, and I was going down the wrong path. And then Nina, you know, wants to help, and she told me I should stop drinking.

Dante: She did, huh? That’s good. Are you saying there might be an actual future with you and Nina?

Elizabeth: I’m glad that’s settled.

Finn: Me too. And the boys will be okay with us? With me?

Elizabeth: How could they not be? They’ll see what a good man you are and how happy you make me.

Finn: That’s the plan. Whatever happens from here, we face it together.

Lucy: This one. I love it. I think it’s perfect. I love it.

Maxie: I love it, too.

Brook Lynn: Well, it’s a duet. Who would sing the male part?

[ Knock on door ]

Chase: Excuse me, ladies. May I have a moment of your time?

Maxie: Well, look who it is — Detective Chase.

Brad: I-I’m working for you? I think there’s a misunderstanding. I’m working at GH.

Selina: You should have checked with me first.

Britt: Why would he have to do that?

Selina: I thought we had an understanding, Bradley. I provide you with a job, along with your rent-free apartment. I’m happy to pay rent. I have to go. My assistant will contact you about setting up a lunch date.

Britt: Should I be worried that she’ll try and poison me?

Brad: No. Probably not. Just don’t let her take you to a second location.

Sonny: Right now, I’m not planning anything with Nina.

Dante: Then why are you pushing so hard for Nina to see Wiley? Like, you want your family back together. Is that what you’re saying? Like, are you including Nina in that family?

Sonny: Nina is Wiley’s grandmother.

Dante: I know, so maybe you realize that you can’t be with Nina if she can’t see Wiley.

Sonny: It’s not — that’s what I’m trying to say. It’s not a choice between Nina and my family, no matter what Michael thinks.

Dante: Right. Look, I uh — I sympathize with you. I do. But maybe you have to accept that right now, the way that things stand, maybe you can’t have both Nina and Michael in your life.

Portia: I can’t wait to start decorating! [ Laughs ]

Curtis: Yeah, we’ll go, uh, do a walk-through later. You know what, I am really glad things are coming together.

Portia: Does that include your relationship with Marshall? Looks like you two were having a good talk.

Curtis: Yeah, he finally opened up. I really think I’m starting to get to know my father.

[ Cellphone rings ]

Curtis: Oh. Hey, Drew. Okay. Really? Okay, tell me when. All right.

Portia: What?

Curtis: Drew just found some inconsistencies in Marshall’s past.

Drew (to Curtis): Are you sure you want to know?

Alexis: Have you reached a decision?

Laura (to Nikolas): We need to close ranks.

Spencer: Let’s do it.

Josslyn (to Cameron): Will you stand up with me?

Esme: Are you saying you were wrong about me?

Carly (to Elizabeth): How can you be so sure?

Sonny (to Ava): You don’t miss a beat, do you?
