Update written by Dustin

Nina continued going through the box of items that she and Liesl had retrieved from Britt’s office. She picked up the Doctor of the Year award and held it close to her chest. She then began to sort through papers, but was interrupted by Ava returning home.  She told Ava that she had to separate the things that belonged to the hospital from Britt’s personal possessions. Nina also told Ava that Liesl was napping in Nina’s bedroom and that Nina felt like she had not been able to console Liesl in the way she had hoped.  She told Ava that Liesl wouldn’t eat and Nina was growing increasingly concerned.

Ava said that it was admirable that Nina wanted to take care of her aunt.  But, quickly added that Nina needed to consider taking a minute for some self-care. Nina told Ava how nice it had been getting to know Britt when she returned to Port Charles and that she just couldn’t believe that Britt was gone. Their chat continued on the sofa and Nina revealed to Ava that Britt had Huntington’s disease at the time of her death.

Nina asked about Esme’s return and Ava’s face shifted to sheer disgust as she remarked that Esme was full of surprises. Ava told Nina that Esme was pregnant and Nikolas was the father. Nina was horrified, and Ava told Nina she didn’t believe there was a word for how angry she was. Ava announced her plan to get divorced as quickly as possible and she stated that if her plan was successful there would be a small reward for Nina.

Ava told Nina she planned on taking Wyndemere for herself. She maintained that she had leverage now with Nikolas’ infidelity and out-of-wedlock child. Ava flashed back to Nikolas’ confession of killing Esme (although she did not reveal it to Nina). Nina had grown accustomed to having Ava around and said that she would actually miss her. They laughed about that, and Ava confessed that she felt the same way. Ava grabbed Nina’s hands, and they agreed that they depended on each other. “You go get ’em,” Nina ordered. Nina also reminded Ava that her bedroom would not be going anywhere.

As Alexis walked into Kelly’s, she told someone on the phone that she would have to reschedule, something had come up, with her family. Just as she ended the call, Nikolas arrived and heard the word “family.” They sat down at a side table, against the wall and Nikolas announced that he needed legal advice, even if it was unofficial. Alexis inquired as to why Nikolas wasn’t using Martin. Nikolas said that Martin was defending Esme from criminal prosecution. Alexis found that humorous and wished him “good luck with that.” He then told her that he was the father of Esme’s baby, and Alexis was mortified. As Nikolas told her that he wanted full custody of the baby, Alexis continued to look at him in disbelief.

Alexis explained that Sam had been taken from her and she would never help someone to take another child away from its mother. She reminded Nikolas that his record as a parent was also lacking. Nikolas said that he would not repeat the errors of the past.  Alexis said the only reason he wanted custody of the unborn baby was to attempt to make up for his horrible mistakes with Spencer. Nikolas insisted that Spencer had cut ties with Nikolas, for good reason. But, Nikolas claimed that he had a responsibility to the unborn child. Alexis insisted that things simply do not work like that, and the parent had to take care of the child because it was their responsibility. Nikolas said that he wanted to protect the new baby from Esme. Alexis promised to find Nikolas an attorney with a good record on child custody cases, but she insisted that he not give up on Spencer as part of the agreement.

Spencer and Sonny walked into Wyndemere and were immediately met by Victor. Sonny said that Spencer would be living with him. “Like hell he is,” Victor responded. Spencer announced that the original date to remain in Victor’s care had passed.  Spencer added that if it were just Victor living at Wyndemere, he would consider staying but that he could not be in the presence of his father after everything that had happened.  Spencer waited for Victor’s response. “Go get your things,” Victor said.  Victor then turned to Sonny and offered him a seat in the living room which Sonny politely refused.  Victor said that he hoped Sonny would do the family a favor.  “Not even when hell freezes over,” Sonny replied. Victor insisted that he was willing to set his pride aside, but Sonny acknowledged that he was only there for Spencer. Victor said that he had hoped to reunite his family, and he hoped that Sonny would use his influence to help reconcile Spencer and Nikolas.

Sonny asked Victor if he thought that it was in Spencer’s best interest to be around Nikolas. He added that Nikolas had the opportunity to be a father. Victor replied that Nikolas was incapable of repairing Spencer’s trust, but he loved Spencer. Victor had hoped to use Sonny’s fractured relationship with Michael as leverage to achieve his point.  But, Sonny wasn’t having it. Victor stated that Sonny and Mike had repaired their relationship, and he wanted Sonny to give Spencer the same chance. Sonny maintained that both people have to be willing to work at it and want it and in this case, Nikolas wouldn’t work for it and Spencer no longer wanted the relationship.

Spencer returned with a small bag. Both Victor and Sonny found it odd that Spencer’s belongings fit inside this tiny bag. Spencer said that he had bumped into Demetrius, who had volunteered to have the rest of Spencer’s things sent to Sonny’s. He noted that Demetrius had headed back up to the North Tower.  “Not the North Tower, it’s closed,” Victor replied.  Spencer said that he had watched Demetrius ascend the stairs himself. Victor looked like he was up to something as Sonny and Spencer exited.

At General Hospital, Michael and Willow rode the elevator to the 3rd floor for their meeting with Dr. Randolph. Willow was excited about the bone marrow transplant donor. She remarked that normally when they got on the hospital elevators, she was overcome with a feeling of dread.  That was not the case on this particular day.

Martin attempted to bar Jordan and Dante from questioning Esme. Martin took the issue to Terry who was standing at the nurses station with Elizabeth. He said that his patient was in no condition for questioning and demanded that Terry intercede. Terry said that as long as Esme’s neurologist had signed off on it she saw no problem with Esme answering questions from the police. As Terry was speaking, Finn stepped off the elevator onto the 10th floor, and Terry asked him to double-check with Esme’s neurologist and then to monitor her condition as the police questioned her.

Terry was upset that she had to immediately catch up on all the work that Britt was overseeing. She couldn’t understand how Britt could be gone, and she and Elizabeth talked about how much Britt had changed. Terry cried, and Elizabeth offered to be there if she wanted to talk. Terry said that she and Britt had made a good team. Elizabeth agreed. Then, Terry received a notification that her next patient was waiting. Terry thanked Elizabeth for being a good friend.

Terry arrived, and she, Michael, and Willow sat around her desk. Willow extended her condolences. Terry revealed that if Britt were there she would want to concentrate on patient care and get right down to business.  She reviewed Willow’s lab work and looked concerned.  She said that Willow’s numbers weren’t where the doctors wanted them to be, and the chemo hadn’t worked as they’d hoped. However, she did say that the baby was healthy and strong. Terry wanted to schedule the transplant as soon as possible, and she suggested that with Willow being eight months pregnant, the baby should be delivered first. She left the room so that Michael and Willow could discuss it, but Willow wasn’t sure she wanted to deliver the baby early.

Michael did his best to reassure Willow until Terry returned with bad news. She announced that donors always needed a physical, and Willow’s donor had not been cleared by her doctor for the procedure. She said that a search for a donor would be resumed immediately and Michael asked her about other treatments.  “We have to consider them,” Terry said.  She reiterated that they needed to buy time to find Willow another donor.

Jordan, Dante, Martin, and Finn stood in front of Esme’s bed. Dante scrolled through photos of Cameron, Josslyn, Trina, and Oz, on his phone. Esme maintained that she didn’t recognize anyone. She grew agitated, and Martin asked Jordan to end the interrogation, which the commissioner did.

As everyone else left, Martin assured Esme that he knew how to have her set free. He asked Esme the location of where she had been hiding.

In the corridor, Dante and Jordan believed they could charge Esme with the revenge porn and that alone would carry a sentence.  But, Dante didn’t believe Esme could have committed the murders.  He said the evidence was leading them down a different path. Dante thought they needed to find out where Esme had been hiding out for months.

Elizabeth ran into Finn at the nurses’ desk, and he stuttered that he was only there to pick up a chart. Elizabeth stated that she had something to tell him, but was interrupted by Jordan and Dante.

Jordan wanted a statement regarding Elizabeth and Esme. Elizabeth said that she had already given a statement to the police and that nothing had changed. She maintained that she had been surprised to see that Esme was pregnant in the hospital.  She said that it had been too dark at the pier to see on the night she first encountered Esme on the docks. Dante noted that no one in any of the attacks had mentioned the attacker as being pregnant. Jordan revealed that they didn’t think Esme was the killer, and Dante thought it would be helpful to know where Esme had been hiding and why. Finn said that he thought that Wyndemere should be checked again and this time, thoroughly.

Back at the penthouse, Ava hoped that Nina would stop by Wyndemere whenever Sonny had to transport Avery. She was amused that Nina was with Avery’s father. Sonny arrived, and he told Ava that Spencer would be living with him for a while. Ava felt bad for Spencer, and she disclosed that Spencer had apologized to her. Ava also announced to Sonny that she was going to take Wyndemere in the divorce and she rushed off to talk with her lawyer.

Sonny took off his coat and sat down, while Nina rushed off to the kitchen to fix them drinks. When Nina returned with the drinks, she found Sonny staring at one of the papers from Britt’s box which had been on the table in front of him. She knew that something was wrong.  “Is everything alright?” Ava asked.  Sonny replied simply, “No.”

Nikolas was greeted by Victor when he returned to Wyndemere. Victor, holding up a slightly burned Christmas ornament, demanded that Nikolas tell him what had been going on in the North Tower.

Nina: [ Sniffles ]

[ Keys jingle, door opens ]

Nina: Hey.

Ava: Hey. What do you have there?

Nina: [ Sighs ]

Willow: I used to feel such dread when I came here for chemo. Today I have a bone marrow donor. I can actually believe this nightmare is finally coming to an end.

Michael: You are a fighter, willow. And I am — I am so amazed by you.

Willow: I couldn’t have done any of this without you by my side. I’m so excited for what the future holds for our family.

Martin: Excuse me! Commissioner Ashford, Detective, I’m afraid I can’t let you go in there.

[ Scoffs ]

Elizabeth: Terry. Hey, how you doing?

Terry: I’ m ready to throw my phone in a medical waste bin.

Elizabeth: Sorry. I can’t imagine how chaotic it’s been.

Martin: Dr. Terry Randolph! As Chief of Staff of this facility, I must insist that you intercede before the commissioner here, Detective Falconeri, can do unnecessary and intentional harm to one of your patients.

Alexis: I know. I won’t be able to, uh, make it back to the office this afternoon. Something came up… …with my family.

Nikolas: I’ll be quick. I just need a few minutes to grab my things. The less time I spend here, the better.

Victor: Spencer, where are you off to?

Sonny: Spencer’s coming home with me.

Victor: [ Scoffs ] Like hell he is.

Sonny: He can make his own decision whether he wants to stay in this pit.

Victor: I’ll be damned if I allow you to put my great-nephew’s future in jeopardy.

Nikolas: I appreciate you looking out for me, Uncle Victor, but the condition of my release was that I was to remain in your care until the date that my original sentence ended. And it’s past that date. So I’m free to do whatever I want.

Victor: Very well, of course you are. But you’ve just lost your friend Dr. Westbourne. I-isn’t this a time to be with family?

Nikolas: I will be with family.

Victor: [ Sighs ] I know you’ve suffered a dreadful loss. I-I’m truly, deeply sorry. So please stay here. Let me help you through this —

Nikolas: If it was just you, Uncle Victor, I would consider it. But the sooner that I get away from my father, the better.

Victor: Yeah, I heard Esme turned up last night. It was all over the news. I know you and Nikolas were always at odds over that troubled woman.

Nikolas: It’s more than that. Esme is pregnant with my father’s baby. So do you really think that he’s the best person to console me in my time of need?

Jordan: There’s no need for theatrics, Mr. Grey. I already spoke to Miss Prince’s neurologist, and he said she was capable of answering questions.

Terry: If her doctor signed off on it, I see no reason to stop the commissioner and Detective Falconeri from questioning Miss Prince.

Martin: No reason? My client is pregnant, fragile, can’t remember a single, solitary thing about her life. What could the police possibly hope to achieve by harassing her?

Terry: Dr. Finn. Can you please double check that Esme Prince is strong enough at the present moment to talk to the police and monitor her while they ask their questions?

Finn: Of course.

Terry: Thank you. If you see any reason for concern, don’t hesitate to contact me.

Finn: Will do. Please follow me.

Elizabeth: Want to talk about it?

Terry: It’s just been one thing after another, and I’m having to catch up on everything that Britt was taking care of. We were at her party last night, you know? She was dancing and singing. How is she just gone?

Nikolas: Thanks for meeting me on such short notice.

Alexis: It was no small feat given today’s news cycle. They found Esme — pregnant, no memory. Britt’s — Britt’s death. How is Spencer handling it?

Nikolas: Uh, Spencer isn’t exactly talking to me these days.

Alexis: He came over at Christmas. He told me about some of your issues.

Nikolas: Not surprised. Actually, I didn’t ask to meet to discuss Spencer. I’m in trouble. I need legal advice.

Alexis: Nikolas, how many times do I have tell you… I just… …I’m not an attorney?

Nikolas: …Need advice, Aunt Alexis, even if in an unofficial capacity.

Alexis: Don’t you have an uncle who’s a lawyer?

Nikolas: Yeah. He’s busy defending Esme on criminal prosecution.

Alexis: Good luck with that. That’s gonna be almost an impossible defense to mount.

Nikolas: All the more reason that she needs a good lawyer.

Alexis: I don’t care about Esme’s legal trouble. What I care about is why you care about it.

Nikolas: I’m the father of her baby. I need your help protecting my unborn child.

Willow: I know Terry will get to us as soon as she can, but it’s hard to wait.

Michael: Well, you know what? At least we’re waiting for good news.

Willow: Exactly. And I will only admit this to you. But… I’m impatient.

Michael: No. You? No, never.

[ Both chuckle ]

Willow: I want to have this transplant as soon as possible. I want to be able to tell your family that I have leukemia. But I have a donor, and my prognosis is good.

Michael: Is that why you haven’t told them to this point?

Willow: Partly. Of course, the main reason is Wiley. I know he’d pick up on everyone’s concern, and I don’t want him to be frightened. But some of it is self-protection… not wanting to see the fear in their eyes not wanting them to have to strain to be normal around me.

Michael: You don’t want to tell them about the problem until the problem’s solved.

Willow: Gee, who does that sound like?

Michael: [ Chuckles ] Yeah. No, I — I-I do that, too. Look, I-if… if keeping your diagnosis a secret from my family helped you, then I’d be all for it. I just don’t want you to think that you have to protect them. My mom, my sisters, the Quartermaines — they all love you. They’re your family, too.

Willow: Even your father?

Nina: Uh, this is just, uh, a — a blank laboratory report. You know, when Aunt Liesl cleaned out Britt’s office she just took a lot of these, um — these sensitive documents, you know? What I’m gonna do is I’m just gonna sort through all this and I’m gonna separate Britt’s personal documents and then return the documents that belong to G.H., but, um…

Ava: Nina, surely you don’t have to do that now.

Nina: Aunt Liesl — she’s a wreck. She won’t eat. She’s — she’s napping in my room. I just want to do whatever I can do, you know, to try to ease her grief.

Ava: Well, I think it’s admirable that you want to help. But losing Britt, it’s –it’s hard on you, too, right? Don’t you want to take at least a minute?

Nina: Yeah. You know, it was really nice reconnecting with Britt when she came back to Port Charles this time. I can’t believe that she’s gone.

Willow: Look, Sonny can be your family if you want. What do you want?

Michael: [ Chuckles ] What I want is for people that I love to stop pressuring me to reconcile with him.

Willow: Ouch.

Michael: No, it’s not just you. It’s — it’s — it’s Dante. It’s Kristina. It’s Olivia. It’s Brook Lynn. And I hate disappointing them. Most importantly, I hate disappointing you, but I’m — like, I’m not — I am not in a position to reconcile with — with Sonny right now.

Willow: Why not?

Michael: Because I would be lying… …faking respect for a man that I don’t have. The man that I grew up with, the man I grew up loving — he never came back from Nixon Falls. This man is a hypocrite. And he can’t stand being around my mom because when she looks at him, she sees him for what he’s not. And so do I.

Willow: That must be really painful for your dad… …to feel he’s not the man he once was, to know that you and your mom, the people he respects the most, don’t respect him. I’m sure that’s why he’s so infatuated with Nina, because she reflects back to him what he wants to see and tells him what he wants to hear.

Michael: Yeah, well, I hope they’re really happy together, then.

Willow: [ Inhales deeply ] Your father won’t be. He needs you, Michael. Sonny needs you to believe that he can be who he was again.

Michael: Sonny is convinced he’s — he’s perfect just the way that he is.

Willow: But you know better. And maybe for the sake of the father you loved, you can have some compassion for the man he’s turned out to be.

Alexis: You slept with Esme? Not only is she crazy, she’s your son’s girlfriend. What the hell’s wrong with you?! Oh, my god, Nikolas.

Nikolas: I know. It was wrong. It was stupid. It was selfish.

Alexis: You think?

Nikolas: Please, just spare me the lecture. I’ve already heard it all from my mother.

Alexis: Does Ava know?

Nikolas: And Sonny.

Alexis: Well, I don’t know what you think I’m gonna add to this.[ Sighs ] Let’s just move on. Why don’t you tell me why you want me to protect your baby?

Nikolas: Martin is making sure that Esme is safe from jail and the police during the last few weeks of pregnancy. I’m concerned about after. I want full custody of my child.

[ Monitor beeping ]

Finn: You can question her.

Jordan: Miss Prince, you are a person of interest in some ongoing cases.

Esme: I know — murders and porn.

Jordan: I understand you can’t remember anything, but Detective Falconeri and i were hoping we may be able to jog your memory.

Martin:  However, you do not have to answer their questions.

Esme: It’s okay. I want to.

Elizabeth: I’m really sorry about Britt.

Terry: We made a really good team. The hospital won’t be the same without her.

Elizabeth: God knows, I had my issues with her, but she really stepped up and became a good co-chief of staff.

Terry: Yeah.  Professional respect turned to friendship. I’m really gonna miss Britt, you know?

Elizabeth: I know.

[ Cellphone beeps ]

Elizabeth: I’m here if you need anything.

Terry: Yeah. Gotta go. My next appointment is here.

Elizabeth: Okay.

Terry: Thank you for being a good friend.

Spencer: I already told you that things between me and my father were damaged beyond repair. And Esme being pregnant with his kid makes that even worse. I’m not gonna be in the same house as him. Please, Uncle Victor, I need you to understand.

Victor: [ Sighs ] Get your things.

Spencer: Thank you.

Victor: [ Sighs ] Sonny, take a seat.

Sonny: No, that’s fine. Thank you, though.

Victor: We both care about Spencer’s future. I think we can help each other.

Sonny: Not even when hell freezes over.

Victor: This is as difficult for me as it is for you. But I’m prepared to put my pride aside for Spencer’s sake. Now, the big question is — are you?

Nina: Well, Britt, you know, she had the kind of light inside of her that you always expect would keep burning. You should have seen her at her party that she threw for her birthday on New Year’s Eve. You never would have guessed that…

Ava: What? Guessed what?

Nina: Well, I guess there’s no harm in telling you now. Britt had Huntington’s Disease.

Ava: That’s a neurological disorder, isn’t it?

Nina: Yeah, it’s a really serious one. It’s genetic. Eventually, it would have killed her.

Ava: I’m so sorry. So that’s — that’s why she had her big party, huh?

Nina: Yeah. It was a goodbye of sorts, wasn’t it?  I just wish I knew so I could have told her how much I loved her. But at least she got the big birthday party that she always wanted, right?

Ava: Yeah.

Nina: And it’s a small consolation that Esme is in police custody.

Ava: Oh, Esme. She’s full of surprises. Turns out that she’s pregnant… with Nikolas’ baby.

Nina: What?

Ava: Mm-hmm.

Nina: Oh… what?! I have no idea how you must be feeling.

Ava: But we’re not — we’re not talking about me. We’re talking about you right now.

Nina: Hey, hey, hey. We’re both going through something right now. This is what we can do for each other. We can support each other.

Ava: The truth is, I am so mad. I am so angry with Nikolas. I don’t even think there’s a word to describe how mad I am.

Nina: Well, what are you gonna do?

Ava: I’m gonna take your advice. I’m gonna get this divorce over with as quickly as possible.

Nina: Yeah. Good. Good for you.

Ava: [ Chuckles ]

Nina: So you’ve given up this idea of revenge?

Ava: No. No. [ Laughs ] No, not exactly. No. And if I pull off this coup as expected, there’s gonna be a little reward in it for you, too.

Willow: I’m so sorry about Dr. Westbourne. She was an excellent doctor — caring, compassionate.

Michael: Yeah, so it must be especially hard on you.

Terry: Britt was always focused on her patients. So I know that if she were still here, she’d tell me to get down to business. Let’s start with your recent bloodwork. [ Exhales sharply ] Alright. Unfortunately… your numbers aren’t where we want them. Your blast percentage has increased and your red blood cell count is actually a bit lower than before you began chemo.

Michael: What’s — w-w-what does that mean?

Terry: The chemo has not had the effect we hoped.

Willow: What about the baby?

Terry: I transferred your case to Dr. Navarro. According to your latest labs and ultrasound, your baby’s healthy. Your daughter is strong. But she’ll have to be for what’s next. You all will. Are you ready?

Nina: How does your revenge on Nikolas reward me?

Ava: I’m moving out.

Nina: Why?

Ava: I had a very productive meeting with Victor last night.

Nina: Productive for Victor, I’m sure.

Ava: And it turns out, he can give me exactly what I want.

Nina: Which is what?

Ava: Wyndemere. Spoon Island. The whole enchilada.

Nina: Good for you. You’re gonna take Nikolas’ home?

Ava: Well, it’s my home, too. And after all that loverboy has done, I’m gonna get my pound of flesh, every single acre of it.

Nina: So what makes you think that Victor or Nikolas will agree to that?

Ava: Well, I don’t know what recourse they have, considering my leverage — infidelities and — and children out of wedlock, and…

Nikolas: I, Nikolas Cassadine, of sound mind and body do hereby acknowledge and confess that I, and I alone, am responsible for the disappearance of Esme Prince. I know this because I killed her.

Ava: I am gonna get Wyndemere.

Nina: So you’re leaving?

Ava: Yeah. I thought you’d be happy to get rid of me.

Nina: Yeah.  [ Chuckles ] I’ve sort of gotten used to having you around.

Ava: Nina Reeves. Are you gonna miss me?

Nina: God help me.

Ava: [ Chuckles ]

Nina: I think I am.

Ava: [ Laughs ] Oh, you know something? If someone had told me sometime ago that I would hear you say those words, I would never have believed it. And if they told me that I would feel exactly the same way, I would have slapped them silly. But here we are.

Sonny: This has nothing to do with pride. Only reason I’m here is because of Spencer. So go ahead. You — you need to say something? Say it.

Victor: I came back to Port Charles with one goal — to reunite my family. As a family man yourself, you must understand how important it was for me to strengthen my family against all threats. Now, I’ve done everything I can to bridge this chasm between Nikolas and Spencer, to try to show them how important it is for them to have a good father-son relationship. But…I’m just hoping that where I failed you — you might succeed. Spencer looks up to you. He listens to you. Use your influence with him to convince him that it’s in his best interest to r-repair his relationship with his father.

Sonny: You’re asking me for a favor after what you’ve done, Victor?

Victor: Oh, no, no. I’m not asking you to do me a favor, Sonny. This is for Spencer.

Sonny: Do you think it’s in Spencer’s best interest to be around his father? I don’t know if you know this, but there was a time where I was disappointed in Spencer. He was stalking Ava. But you know what? He was a kid. He was angry. He was hurt. He lashed out. Nikolas does not have an excuse. He has had every opportunity to be a — a father to his son. And he hasn’t done it, Victor!

Victor: I don’t disagree with you. Nikolas seems incapable of — of repairing the trust of his son. But I do know Nikolas loves Spencer. Now, sh– does he deserve to be cut out of his life? Can you honestly endorse that, given the state of affairs between you and your own son?

Sonny: Okay, this is where you — you gotta — you gotta watch yourself, okay? You keep my family out of your mouth. Or that will be the last time you ever say anything.

Alexis: I’m not gonna be a part of taking away a child from its mother. It’s wrong.

Nikolas: You would leave my child at the tender mercies of Esme Prince because of your principles?

Alexis: Okay, I’m gonna tell you the truth. Sam was taken away from me by my father, and I am not about to help another Cassadine take away a child from its mother, no matter who she is.

Nikolas: But Esme isn’t —

Alexis: I know she’s awful. I don’t care. She’s still the mother.

Nikolas: The baby is mine, too. She can’t have any part in raising it.

Alexis: You know, Nikolas, it’s not like you have a record of being a sterling parent.

Nikolas: I know I’m far from perfect. Okay? I failed Spencer on every level, but I know what my mistakes are, and I won’t make them again as long as I don’t have to deal with Esme’s poisonous influence. She can’t have any part in raising our child.

Alexis: This isn’t about protecting an unborn child. This is about you wanting to atone for your mistakes.

Dante: That’s Cameron Webber. That’s Josslyn Jacks. They were the victims of the revenge porn. That’s Trina Robinson. She was framed for the revenge porn. That guy there, that’s Oz Haggerty. He accused you of drugging him. He’s also one of the victims in The Hook attacks.

Esme: I-I don’t recognize any of these people, and I don’t know why I would have done such horrible things. I-I’m not a murderer, at least I don’t think I am. Just — I can’t look at any more photos. Take that away.

Martin:  That’s alright. Just remember, she is a young, pregnant woman with traumatic memory loss. Unless you’re gonna charge her with any of these heinous crimes, I’m afraid I’m gonna have to pull the plug on this interrogation. Right now.

[ Monitor beeping ]

Jordan: Miss Prince, Mr. Grey, we’ll be in touch.

[ Door closes ]

Martin:  Hey. Not to worry. I know how to set you free.

Dante: If she’s faking it, she’s putting on a hell of a performance.

Jordan: And if she’s not?

Dante: It doesn’t really change anything. We still have evidence and witness testimony tying her to the revenge porn and the drugging and attempted murder of Oz Haggerty. Right, just ’cause she doesn’t remember doing it doesn’t mean she’s innocent.

Jordan: And The Hook attacks?

Dante: I don’t think it’s her.

Finn: I was just, uh, picking up a chart.

Elizabeth: I could tell Terry really appreciated you stepping in to help with the Esme situation.

Finn: How are you doing? I can imagine how difficult this is seeing Esme again.

Elizabeth: It was certainly a shock.

Finn: Yeah, especially, since she’s pregnant with, uh, Nik’s baby after you recently miscarried.

Elizabeth: You don’t have to do this.

Finn: Do what?

Elizabeth: Pretend like you care.

Finn: I’m not pretending. I-I would never do that with you. You’ll always be Violet’s aunt, and I’ll always care about you. Just ’cause we didn’t work out, that doesn’t change how I feel.

Elizabeth: Finn, wait. There’s something I have to tell you… about Esme.

Jordan: It’s too soon to drop Esme as a suspect in the hook attacks.

Dante: I-I know, I know, I understand. But — but let’s — you know, it’s getting less and less likely, right? So you have the victims — Ava, Diane, Oz Haggerty — all ties to Trina, right? The two outliers being Brando Corbin and the exotic animal dealer. And Brando was only killed ’cause he followed Josslyn out into the alleyway and he was attacked.

Jordan: Yeah. Well, wrong place, wrong time.

Dante: Right. And then you got the exotic animal dealer probably hooking the killer up with — with the venom.

Jordan: So he was killed to shut him up.

Dante: Right. And Esme in her condition… I mean, do you really think she could have killed that guy and jumped out the window when she heard me coming in the room? I just don’t see it.

Jordan: Well, who else would be targeting the people around Trina Robinson?

Dante: Well, why don’t we look at it a different way? Maybe we can eliminate Esme as a suspect by figuring out where she’s been hiding out the last few months.

Michael: We always knew that the bone marrow transplant was Willow’s best chance, so, um, we’re ready to do whatever it takes to help her beat this.

Terry: The match comes at a good time. Given Willow’s labs, I want to schedule this transplant as soon as possible.

Willow: Isn’t it possible the procedure could harm the baby?

Terry: Complications can arise with bone marrow transplant. Given that you’re eight months pregnant and how healthy the baby is, my preference would be for you to deliver before the procedure.

Willow: But couldn’t a premature birth harm the baby?

Terry: Dr. Navarro will add her opinion, but plenty of babies are born prematurely safely and without complications. I think you have every reason to expect a positive outcome. As soon as you’re ready after delivering… we’ll do the transplant. I’ll give you some time to discuss.

Michael: Okay, alright. So — so the chemo results weren’t exactly what we were hoping for, but we’re blessed to have found a donor.

Willow: I’m not so sure I can go through with it.

Nina: Uh, I don’t have much family, and it seems to be getting smaller every day. Britt and Nelle and J and then… not being able to see Wiley. Didn’t we start to team up when I was on the brink of losing the family that I found with Valentin and Charlotte? We have been through a lot, haven’t we? I’ve really come to depend on you.

Ava: I’ve lost my fair share of family, too, haven’t I? And Nikolas was my family. Oh, that’s why it hurt so much when our marriage fell apart. But you were there for me. Gave me a place to stay… [ Chuckles ] …So I wouldn’t be alone, a place where I had a friend I could confide in. [ Voice breaking ] It means so much to me.

Nina: I hope you get everything you want. You go get ’em. And just so you know… your room’s not going anywhere.

Nikolas: Spencer’s the one that gave up on me. I don’t blame him. I mean, I made mistake after mistake. I-I betrayed him in all of the worst ways.

Alexis: I’ll say. You slept with his girlfriend. [ Sighs ] But you are still his father.

Nikolas: Doesn’t matter. No. Spencer looks at me, he sees a cautionary tale. I’m not the kind of man that he wants to be. In his eyes, the only way to prevent that is to sever all ties. I don’t even think he’s wrong. But I have a responsibility to my unborn child to rectify the mistakes of my past, to give my baby, the unborn baby, the life that I could never give Spencer.

Alexis: What about your responsibility to Spencer? You keep talking and focusing on this unborn baby. Have you just given up your relationship with Spencer, the son you already have?

Finn: Elizabeth, what about Esme?

Elizabeth: [ Sighs ]

Jordan: Nurse Baldwin? A few minutes?

Elizabeth: Uh, can you give me a second?

Jordan: This won’t take long.

Elizabeth: Yes. What do you need?

Jordan: A statement… about you and Esme Prince.

Victor: I, uh, remember the news surrounding a — a rather contentious visitation battle between your son and your… well, Nina Reeves. I also know that you and your father overcame your own differences towards the end of his life, and I’m asking you to use that experience to help give Spencer the same chance with his father as you had with yours.

Sonny: In a relationship… both people have to want it and be willing to work at it. Nikolas doesn’t want to work at it, and I don’t even think Spencer wants it anyway. So if he changes his mind, it’s not gonna be because of me.

Victor: Well, we never have as much time as we want.

Sonny: What does that mean?

Spencer: I’m ready.

Sonny: That’s all you got?

Spencer: Uh, yeah. I bumped into Demetrius on his way up to the north tower. He said he’d be happy to send the rest of my things.

Victor: Well, the north tower’s closed.

Spencer: I guess not anymore. He went right up the stairs after I finished talking to him.

Victor: Ah, well, I’ll make sure the rest of your things are sent out to you.

Spencer: Thank you for understanding, Uncle Victor. I’ll still see you around, I hope.

Victor: [ Chuckles ] Just try to get rid of me.

Spencer: I don’t care what everyone says about you. I’m glad that you’re here.

Victor: So am I.

[ Door opens ]

[ Door closes ]

Elizabeth: I don’t understand. I already gave you my statement after Esme attacked me on the pier.

Dante: Right. Uh, do you remember — do you remember if she was pregnant at all?

Elizabeth: I was actually just about to tell Finn that I was surprised when I found out she was pregnant, so, no, I didn’t notice that night. Sorry I can’t be more helpful.

Dante: No, no, I mean — I mean, all the surviving victims, not one of them have mentioned that their attacker was pregnant, and she would have been showing at the time.

Elizabeth: Yeah, well, it was dark and she was wearing all black. It happened really fast. And I hit my head, things just went…fuzzy. Is she still a prime suspect in the attacks?

Jordan: She’s still a person of interest, but we have reason to think she may not be the killer.  I reviewed the statement Britt Westbourne gave to Detective Bennet. Dr. Westbourne fought with the hook for several minutes, but she was also an OB. It seems likely that she would have noticed if she was pregnant, but she made no mention of it. Still, we can’t rule Esme out as a suspect.

Dante: The real question is, where has Esme been hiding and why?

Finn: I don’t know the why, but I got an idea about the where. You might want to start with Wyndemere.

Nikolas: Spencer’s a grown man. He’s made his decision. Of course, I’m gonna be here for him if he changes his mind and he wants a relationship with me.

Alexis: And meanwhile, you get a do-over with this unborn baby? No, that’s not how it works. And what are you gonna do when the baby grows up and wants to know where his brother is? You’re gonna say, “I gave up on him”? You don’t get to do that. A parent takes care of all of their children. That’s your job. It might be impossible sometimes, but that’s your job, Nikolas.

Nikolas: I hear you. [ Sighs ] But right now, I can’t do anything for Spencer, so I’m gonna do everything I can for my unborn baby. And that includes protecting it from Esme. She’s dangerous. Can you — can you honestly say that it’s in that child’s best interest to have Esme Prince in its life? I love this baby, and I want to do right by it.

Alexis: I will find you another attorney that can handle difficult custody cases.

Nikolas: Thank you.

Alexis: Thank me by taking my advice. Do not give up on Spencer.

Michael: Well, hey, hey, isn’t this good news? I mean, the baby is gonna be here sooner than we expected. You’re gonna get a bone marrow transplant and… [ Exhales sharply ] …You’ll recover from leukemia.

Willow: I’m afraid of giving birth early. What if something goes wrong?

Michael: You heard Terry. She wouldn’t have recommended early labor if — if she thought it would harm the baby.

[ Door opens ]

Terry: Unfortunately, I have some bad news.

Ava: Well , you’re not gonna be completely alone after I leave. You’ll still have Sonny.

Nina: True. So what are you gonna do on that big pile of rocks all by yourself?

Ava: Well, I have Avery. And I’m assuming that you’re gonna pop in from time to time.

Nina: Yeah, I’ll tag along when Sonny comes to pick up and drop off Avery.  [ Laughs ] What?

Ava: I, uh… I just… [ Chuckles ] I just never imagined that you would end up dating the father of my daughter. It’s just weird.

Nina: It is weird. Life is funny, isn’t it?

[ Both laugh ]

[ Door opens ]

Nina: Hey!

Sonny: [ Chuckles ] Hey.

Ava: Hey. Hi. You have a key, huh?

Sonny: Yeah, I guess I’m special.

Nina: Yeah. You’re very, very special. Where — where’s Spencer?

Ava: Spencer?

Sonny: He’s going to be living with me for a little while. I just dropped him off at the penthouse.

Nina: How’s he doing?

Sonny: Well, between, you know, losing Britt and cutting ties with his father, he’s not having the greatest day.

Ava: Well, I’m glad he has you.

Sonny: Yeah, well, I-I never thought I’d see the day that you would, you know, feel bad for Spencer.

Ava: You know, he apologized to me. He did. A real sincere apology.

Sonny: Well, good for him. Yeah.

Ava: Yeah. And that’s one less person that I have to evict from Wyndemere. I’m taking it from Nikolas in the divorce.

Sonny: [ Laughs ] Congratulations.

Ava: Mm-hmm. Oh, that reminds me.

Sonny: What?

Ava: I have to call my lawyer. So… excuse me.

Sonny: Alright. So, uh… …how you holding up?

Nina: Not great. Not great. Spencer’s not the only one having a rough time of it.

Sonny: Yeah?

Nina: Yeah.

Sonny: Would you like me to take care you?

Nina: I do want you to take care of me.

Sonny: Okay.

Nina: Hold me. Take care of me. But before we do all that, how about… two hot ciders? I’ve got those cinnamon sticks.

Sonny: Mm. Okay.

Nina: Okay. I’ll be right back.

Sonny: Alright. [ Sighs ]

Willow: Whatever the news, tells us. We can handle it.

Terry: All bone marrow donors have to undergo a physical exam before donating. Your donor’s doctor didn’t clear her for the procedure.

Nina: As promised, two hot ciders with cinnamon sticks. Hey. Is everything okay? Sonny?

Sonny: No.

Willow: But how can that be?

Terry: Sometimes potential donors have medical conditions that make them unable to donate that they weren’t aware they had before they entered the registry. That’s why we do the physicals.

Michael: Where do we go from here?

Terry:We keep looking for a match.

Michael: I know — I know you’re doing everything you can.

Willow: And I wasn’t sure I wanted to go through early labor.

Terry:Given your lab numbers, I’d like us to prioritize this.

Michael: What — what about, um — what about other treatments?

Terry:We have to consider them, of course. Anything to give us time to find a new donor.

Michael: Okay? Uh, just — just let me know how I can help. Any resources you need, don’t hesitate to ask.  We will do everything in our power to give Willow… the time that she needs. We’re still in this fight.

Terry:Absolutely.

Esme: How can you set me free? The cops seem so sure that I’ve done all of these terrible things.

Martin: Hey. Now, the only evidence that ties you to that revenge porn or drugging the bartender is testimony of a dead man. As for the murders, the police got a theory that links you from a motivational standpoint, but some of the victims don’t fit the pattern. And not to be too indelicate about it, but you are very pregnant and that casts serious doubt on whether or not you would even be capable of attacking somebody like that with a hook.

Esme: Do you know how condescending you sound?

Martin: Yeah. But don’t take it out on me. I’m a feminist. I’m just telling you what I know.

Esme: [ Exhales sharply ] So… what does all of this mean?

Martin: One thing is for sure. If you had an alibi, I might be able to… persuade the PCPD not to charge you. So, it’s vital we figure out before they do where you’ve been hiding all this time.

Esme: Then I would have an alibi?

Martin: Key to your freedom.

Jordan: We searched Wyndemere for Esme once before, after Oz Haggerty’s testimony at Trina’s trial.

inn: Yeah, you know, I just think she’s been hiding out on the island. Maybe not the house, but, you know, every time she’s been seen, it’s been near the pier where the launch departs from, you know, and of all the places in Port Charles where Esme spent time, she spent most of it on Spoon Island. Seems like that’d be the best place to make it difficult for her to be detected, alright? Especially if everybody was focused on Wyndemere.

Dante: They did find her on The Haunted Star soaking wet. Maybe she was going to or from Wyndemere and… fell in the water?

Jordan: It’s certainly worth searching Wyndemere again for evidence of her presence on the island.

Victor: Ah, just the person I wanted to see.

Nikolas: I know we have a lot to discuss —

Victor: Oh, indeed we do. Starting with what’s been going on in the north tower.

On the next “General Hospital” —

Laura (to Elizabeth): Why would that be a good thing?

Spencer: She needs to be held accountable.

Esme: You really think I did all those crazy things?

Victor (to Nikolas): The Cassadines would be better off if they cut their losses.

Dex (to Josslyn): If you’re not careful, it can really mess you up.

Willow (to Michael): Why don’t you hate me for this?

Sonny: This in-fighting has to stop.

Devon: No, I appreciate you digging into this so quickly. Were you able to find out if there was a connection between audra and tucker? Okay. Hang on a second. What was the name of that llc you just said? That’s what I thought. No, that’s okay. Um, can you — can you send me this report by tonight? That’s great. Alright. Thank you very much.

[ Knock on door ]

Tucker: Alright, alright!

[ Clears throat ]

Audra: Uh, sorry. It’s just me. Hope you’re not too disappointed.

Tucker: I wasn’t expecting you at this hour.

Audra: Well, you’ve been ignoring my texts, so I had to come talk to you in person. What the hell is up with that? You know, if I did that to you, you’d be furious.

Tucker: Well, first of all, I’m in charge here of our little operation, so I can do whatever I please. And secondly, you know I have other priorities besides our business together, so I think you can take it down a notch.

Audra: Don’t try and handle me. But I think you’re gonna feel differently when you hear what I’ve been trying to tell you. Thanks in no small part to me, lily realized that she and jill could no longer be slowed down by devon. Chancellor-winters’ ipo is imminent. So, if you plan to make a move, we need to strategize.

Tucker: Okay. Thank you for the information. I’ll think about it, and I’ll be in touch.

Audra: [ Chuckling ] What? That’s it? You’re just gonna blow me off after all the work I’ve put into this? I mean, what’s happening here? Are you getting cold feet?

Tucker: Like I said, I will be in touch with you when I know how to proceed. So, if you’ll excuse me…

Audra: Why are you hustling me off? Are you expecting someone?

Tucker: Like I said, I am going to contemplate what you told me. That requires privacy. So, unless you’d like to wait in the bathroom again…

Audra: Fine. Hopefully by the time you get back to me, you’ll be in a better mood.

Tucker: Bye.

[ Door closes ]

[ Cellphone chimes ]

Audra: [ Sighs ]

Daniel: So, our number-one priority at omega sphere needs to be assembling a great tech team. I don’t want just good coders. You know, I want passion. I want people who are inspired by our mission. So, you know, don’t just be looking over résuméS. I want you to be meeting with these people face-to-face, really getting to know them, you know? And I want to — I want to build a loyal and committed team from the ground up.

Phyllis: Totally.

Daniel: ‘Cause you know, our division is only gonna be as good as the people that are in it.

Phyllis: Totally.

Daniel: And if anyone is giving you the vibes that you’re giving me right now, totally don’t hire them.

Phyllis: What vibes?

Daniel: Yeah, the vibes. No, you are lucky you already have this job. I mean, if this was an interview, it would be over by now. I mean, your lack of focus — it’s exactly what we don’t want.

Phyllis: What are you ta–

Daniel: No, we don’t want. You need to set the tone.

Phyllis: I’m setting the tone. I’m focused. I know what you want.

Daniel: Mm-hmm?

Phyllis: You want passion and loyalty and commitment. I mean, those are the things that I wanted when I was hiring. I know what you mean, okay? I get it. I’m glad you get it.

Daniel: Of course I get it.

Phyllis: Yeah. Too bad your sister doesn’t get it.

Daniel: What do you mean?

Phyllis: Your sister. She didn’t even fight to keep me at marchetti. I mean, what kind of loyalty did she show to me, her own mother?

Daniel: [ Exhales sharply ] Look, mom, I am really sorry about whatever happened with you and summer, but you need to move on. You need to move on to your new job with me. I mean, I am your boss.

[ Chuckles ]

Phyllis: I know that. Maybe my problem is I shouldn’t be working with my kids. That’s — [ Laughs ] That’s a joke.

Daniel: [ Chuckles ] Yeah, no, it’s not funny.

Phyllis: Oh.

Daniel: No. We’ve got a long road ahead, and I need you focused.

Phyllis: I’m very focused.

Daniel: Good. And, you know, maybe don’t make it so clear that I’m your second choice.

Diane: [ Sighs ] I’m having second thoughts about stealing from nikki.

Jack: Why? I thought we agreed. She is the perfect victim. No, she’s a known enemy, no one that stark would think we would be colluding with. You pull this off, you will convince him you are ready to do business with him again.

Diane: Yeah, but nikki is nikki. She’s formidable. And I — I don’t want to run the risk of re-igniting her anger towards me when she has finally backed off.

Jack: Okay. I am not thrilled with any of the risk involved in this whole thing, but given our options and, you know, and we’re talking about grand larceny, nikki is a suitable target. Look, she — I will explain things to her later. I will try to smooth things over.

Ashley: Oh, just what I love to see when I walk in the room, the two of you conspiring together. I don’t even want to know what the details are, but if you think you’re gonna smooth something over with me, you’re dead wrong.

In a world, where dry

Jack: Diane and I were just discussing her safety now that you and your co-conspirators have put her in jeopardy.

Ashley: Okay, just save it, please. I don’t want to have this conversation again. Why is she here? Why? All the time.

Jack: You are being extremely rude right now. You were right about one thing. This is our house. Diane is my guest. She came here to hear my concerns about her safety, which you put at risk.

Ashley: Oh, god.

Diane: I don’t want to create problems between the two of you.

Ashley: [ Laughs ] Sure you don’T.

[ Door opens ]

Diane: [ Sighs ]

[ Door closes ]

Phyllis: You’re right. You’re right, okay? Listen, I didn’t mean to get into the summer thing. I apologize. I am so excited to work with you. I am so excited to be part of this new venture of yours. So, let’s go, alright?

Daniel: I hope you mean that.

Phyllis: I do. I do mean it. Really. I am — I’m so excited to be in charge of the tech team at omega sphere.

Daniel: Good. No. Good, good. Great.

Phyllis: Okay.

Daniel: Well, let’s — let’s go get that talent then.

Phyllis: Alright. Good.

Daniel: Did you get any good candidates from the résumés i sent over, uh, anyone in there that you’re just dying to meet?

Phyllis: Mnh. I — I’ll — I’ll look at the résumés, okay? Sorry. I’m — daniel, please believe in me. I’m gonna put together the best tech team ever. Really. I promise you. And I’m not gonna let you down the way that summer let me down.

Daniel: Oh, my god. Ugh.

[ Laughs ] See? You were on point there for a minute, and now you’re just gone again.

Phyllis: Okay. I’m sorry. I’m just tired. That’s all. I’m just so tired. And this is nothing that a good night’s sleep won’t fix, okay? So, can we just circle back in the morning?

Daniel: Yeah. Yes. That’s fine. But, you know, is this — is this really — is this really — you know, are you exhausted? Are you tired? But —

Phyllis: Yeah.

Daniel: Or is it summer?

Phyllis: I think my feelings are just hurt because… she chose diane over me. That’s all.

Devon: Hey.

Lily: Hey.

Devon: Thank you for meeting me in person.

Lily: Yeah, no, it’s fine. I was actually already here. I didn’t really want to go home.

Devon: Why not? Is billy not there?

Lily: Well, I mean, it doesn’t really matter. Even when he is there, I feel alone.

Devon: What makes you say that? What’s going on with you guys?

Lily: Um, I don’t really want to talk about it. Um, what’s going on? Why did you want to meet here in person?

Devon: Well, I will tell you.

Audra: Hi.

Devon: Hello.

Lily: Hi. Um, is this about the ipo? ‘Cause I told you it’s happening.

Devon: It is. It’s absolutely about the ipo and how risky it is, given some new information that’s come to light.

Audra: I’ve done all the due diligence. Everything’s in order. I-I saw to every detail. So we’re in the clear from any threat from nate.

Devon: Well, guess what. I’m not worried about nate anymore. I’m worried about a completely different threat.

Lily: What are you talking about?

Devon: We have a new traitor at the company.

[ Pounding on door ]

Tucker: [ Sighs ] Popular guy.

[ Sniffs ] Ahh. Now, this is a welcome surprise.

Ashley: I am so sorry to show up unannounced.

Tucker: Well, come in.

Ashley: But, honestly, I felt like I had no place else to go. I mean, really. I mean, diane is always at my house, morning, noon, and night.

Tucker: Well, you’ve come to the right place. I had a feeling I should keep my schedule open tonight.

Ashley: Oh, yeah?

Tucker: Yeah.

Ashley: You had one of your mystical vibes that I was gonna barge in with a bottle of wine?

Tucker: Yeah. You’ve been on my mind, of course, so I think I manifested this.

Ashley: Oh, great. Listen. You know what? Diane has infected my entire family like a virus. It’s unbelievable. All the things that she’s done to jack, she’s also managed to turn my brother into a sucker. Were you aware that she’s working at a division in jabot? Did you know that? And not just that, but she’s at my house constantly, so there’s no escaping her. Diane is everywhere, and every day I wake up in a new, fresh diane hell. There’s diane again! There’s diane again!

[ Sighs ]

Tucker: Yes. I’m sorry.

[ Laughs ] I… I’m sorry that you’re so upset. But I just have to tell you, for me, this is heavenly.

One role of a lifetime…

one sore throat.

Diane: I feel terrible about this rift I’ve caused between you and ashley.

Jack: No, no.

Diane: It’s totally my fault.

Jack: I’m not gonna have you blaming yourself. Ashley is being unreasonable, and I’m not gonna stand for it.

Diane: Well, thank you for defending me.

Jack: I am just stating the facts. However, she did manage to interrupt our conversation.

Diane: Yeah.

Jack: And maybe it is better we drop the subject of stark for the time being. I don’t want anybody walking in and overhearing us. And, besides, it’s getting kind of late.

Diane: Yeah, that’s probably for the best, and, um, I should be going. But before I do, um, there’s something else I’d like to discuss if you have a minute.

Jack: Sure. What’s on your mind?

Diane: I think we should talk about the desire I have to kiss you again.

Lily: Sorry. Who do you think is a traitor?

Devon: Well, earlier today i was tipped off that our lovely audra here has been in direct contact with tucker, in the past and recently.

Lily: Wait. How do you know this?

Devon: My first clue was that they both have the exact same text tone for each other.

Audra: Tons of people have alerts on their phone for calls from certain people.

Devon: Right, yeah, but yours is pretty distinctive. And it concerned me enough to wonder, why is the person who is spearheading our ipo contacting my dad, the person who i originally thought was going after the company? So, I had someone look into it, and it turns out that audra’s business degree was pretty damn expensive and she racked up quite a bit of debt.

Audra: Like most grad students do.

Devon: Yeah.

Audra: Mbas are not cheap, and i was not born into money.

Devon: Well, you must have been just thrilled when all of your debt was paid off in one lump sum by an llc.

Audra: It was paid by a company I worked for, as a bonus.

Devon: Mm.

Audra: As far as I’m concerned, I earned that money.

Devon: I’m sure you did. The company had a really unique name. Do you remember it?

Audra: No, I don’t remember.

Devon: You don’t? The company that paid for your future? It was called only eyes for you.

Audra: Okay. I —

Devon: Well, that just so happens to be the name of the very first song that tucker ever produced.

Audra: Hmm. I had no idea.

Devon: And the fact that the name of the company and the name of the song are exactly the same is just a little too much of a coincidence not to mean something, and that something is pretty damn clear to me. Tucker paid for your student loans, and then both of you showed up in town at the exact same time. So, why don’t you tell us — what should we make of that?

Lily: Have you been working with tucker all along?

Ashley: You find my angst heavenly?

Tucker: [ Laughs ]

Ashley: I hope you don’t mean that the way it sounds. Otherwise, I’m gonna have to put you on my enemy list.

Tucker: Yeah. I got it.

Ashley: Thank you.

Tucker: No, like I said, I’m sorry you’re so upset, but this is the ashley that I remember so well — calm, cool, and collected one moment and then wild and fiery the next.

Ashley: Huh. Well, um, I’m glad that you find my torment humorous.

Tucker: No, don’t get me wrong. I’m — I’m sympathizing with you. You’re in an untenable situation with jack and diane. But, uh, this situation has seemed to awaken something in you that I love — your spark.

Ashley: Mm. It’s more than just a spark, though. It’s more like a wildfire.

Tucker: Mm. Of anger or excitement?

Ashley: Little bit of both.

Tucker: Mm-hmm. Yeah. And you know what else I love? You come here and you feel comfortable with me, you let your guard down and you allow yourself to be real and messy and complicated. There’s nothing sexier to me.

Ashley: Really?

Tucker: Mnh-mnh.

[ Glass thuds ]

Ashley: What are you gonna do about it?

[ Glass thuds ]

Tucker: That depends on you. Somedays, you just need it.

Ashley: [ Laughs ]

Tucker: Ah, there it is.

Ashley: Hmm?

Tucker: That was fire. That’s what I remember and missed so much. Don’t tell me you don’T.

Ashley: That would be showing my hand.

Tucker: Ah, I think you already did.

Ashley: Mm, don’t be so sure.

Tucker: You see it, though, right? That together we’re stronger than whatever kept us apart.

Ashley: I love this. I hate this.

Tucker: [ Chuckles ]

Ashley: I hate that I love this.

Tucker: But you love it the most, right?

Ashley: You do realize that this is just a smaller part of a bigger picture. There’s no evidence that we actually work.

Tucker: Well, maybe we should continue to test my hypothesis.

Ashley: Do you understand that I’m an actual scientist? And you can’t talk me into anything by misusing, you know, scientific terminology. It won’t work with me.

Tucker: Are you saying you’re smarter than me?

Ashley: Yes.

Tucker: Congratulations.

Ashley: And I’m too smart to fall for you again.

Tucker: [ Laughing ] Oh, really?

Ashley: Mm-hmm.

Tucker: And yet here you are. What do you know? So I guess being with me is a smart choice.

Ashley: Mm. Um, you know, what happened here isn’t an indication of where our relationship is headed, though.

Tucker: Oh, god. Okay. I should have just kept my mouth shut…

Ashley: Sorry.

Tucker: …And enjoyed the moment.

[ Clears throat ] I’ll leave you, uh, a little space and go take a shower. You’ll be here when I’m done?

Ashley: Do you mind? I’m kind of enjoying the fact that diane’s not here. She’s not here, is she?

[ Both laugh ]

Tucker: Probably is. No, I’m enjoying it, too. Not that I’m reveling in your misery for my benefit.

Ashley: That’s okay. I’ll allow it this one time.

Tucker: And you can stay as long as you want. You know, I can clear some space in the closet. Right. [ Clicks tongue ] Don’t push it.

Ashley: Mnh-mnh.

Tucker: Hey —

Ashley: Wow!

Tucker: What?

Ashley: You are capable of listening. That’s — that’s good to know about you.

Tucker: Order some room service, some late-night snacks?

Ashley: Okay.

Daniel: [ Chuckles ] I can’t believe I’m telling you this.

Phyllis: [ Clears throat ]

Daniel: Summer does blame diane, alright? She hates the danger that she’s brought into all with our lives. She doesn’t trust her. She doesn’t think it’s fair that everyone’s trying to protect her and that you’re being vilified. Look, her eyes are very much open to diane’s manipulations.

Phyllis: Then why is she making the choices she’s making?

Daniel: Because she feels this immense pressure to make nice with kyle.

Phyllis: Uh, if this is true and she told you this, well, why is she making these choices? I mean, why doesn’t she have my back? Why is she not sticking up for me?

Daniel: I think it’s just a case where you need to get out of your own head. You need to try and see this from summer’s point of view. I mean, she’s stuck between her husband and her mother. She feels like she has to be civil to diane, you know, for harrison’s sake. But she needs you. She needs your support right now. So just — I don’t know — give her a break already. Be the bigger person before whatever this is between the two of you spirals even further.

Audra: Yes, I do know tucker from my time in london, okay? But that has nothing to do with the work I’ve done at chancellor-winters.

Devon: Mm. Can you prove that at all?

Audra: I have prepared the company well for the ipo. And jill still wants to move forward with it, so it makes no sense to let the fact that i have ties to tucker disrupt the momentum. If we pause, it will get around, make us look unstable. Do we really want another embarrassing disruption so close to the announcement? Tucker poses no threat to you. Neither do I.

Lily: Why would we believe anything that you say?

[ Scoffs ] Oh, my god. I can’t deal with this right now. You’re fired. You’re fired! Have security escort her out of the building.

Audra: I’ll go… if you feel the same way.

Devon: [ Chuckles ]

Ashley: Ashley abbott beauty incorporated?

[ Folders rustling ] Jabot. Bingo. Jabot comps, evaluations. All the reports. He was targeting us. He was definitely —

Tucker: I doubt there’s anything in there you don’t already know. Who says you can’t go for bold

“The young and the restless”

will continue. Not flossing well?

Devon: So, you want to make your case for staying on board? Be my guest.

Audra: I can still be an asset to you.

Devon: Mm. How?

Audra: I know some things about tucker’s business and his goals, especially regarding you.

Devon: What kind of goals does my father have for me?

Audra: Let’s just say you weren’t wrong to think that he came in town with an interest in chancellor-winters.

Devon: Well, I mean, hell, i figured that out myself. Is this your plan? To betray his trust to win me over? ‘Cause how would I ever know what side you’re on?

Audra: It would be stupid for me to try and play both sides at this point.

Devon: Right. So, I’m just supposed to trust you then?

Audra: You don’t have to trust me. If I continue to work here, i assume I would have eyes on me at all times.

Devon: Yeah, you assume right. So, what’s your point?

Audra: That I already know a lot about this company. And I’m the kind of person you want on your side rather than your competition.

Devon: Really? So, you’re threatening me now? Well, let me remind you that you signed an nda when you started working here. So if you say anything to anyone about this company, you will be in court by the end of the day, with a lawsuit that will drag out for a very long time. And you’ll probably have to ask my dad for some more money.

Audra: I’m getting the sense this is the end of our working relationship.

Devon: I’m getting that sense, too. How about you get your things and you leave this building quietly so I don’t have to call security? Your services are no longer needed.

Audra: It’s your loss. You know, but I will say this. You’re not a very good judge of character, are you? You keep letting foxes into the henhouse — you know, your cousin, your father, and now me? You’ve been played a lot. Hmm. It makes me wonder how you’ve made it as far as you have.

Jack: You’re uncomfortable with things getting physical between us and you — you want it to stop?

Diane: No. No, not at all.

Jack: Then what did you want to discuss?

Diane: [ Sighs ] I want you to know that my feelings for you aren’t a holdover from the past or gratitude because of how wonderful you’ve been to me since I’ve come back to town. What I’m feeling is — is different. And I’m different. And for the first time in my life, I — I feel something that’s based on real friendship and not because I believe I need a man to take care of me.

Jack: That’s all good to know. But why are you telling me this now?

Diane: Because I’m just worried that it’s another problem with our plan. I mean, how can I even pretend to tolerate stark when I care so much about you?

Phyllis: Daniel, of course i want to be there for summer. Are you kidding me? Of course. I’m just trying to protect her. That’s all I’ve been trying to do. I just don’t understand why she told you this information instead of me.

Daniel: Well, it doesn’t matter. Now you know. And you cannot tell her that i told you any of this. I’m serious. You cannot tell her. And I know this is gonna be hard for you, but be subtle. Maybe apologize. Tell her that you were wrong to judge her so harshly and — i don’t know — let her know that you see, like, what a tough spot that she was put in. Just empathize with her.

Phyllis: [ Sighs ] Ah. Interesting. Who’s distracted now?

Daniel: Um…I don’t know what you mean.

[ Clears throat ]

Phyllis: Don’t you?

Daniel: Mnh-mnh.

Phyllis: Huh. Uh, okay. Well, hey, listen. Thank you for telling me that. I’m gonna go find summer and talk to her.

Daniel: Good.

Phyllis: Yeah.

Daniel: Hey, I’m serious. No ratting me out.

Phyllis: [ Chuckles ]

Daniel: Hey. Are you alright?

Lily: Hey. Yeah.

[ Chuckles ] Yeah. No, I’m fine. I just, um, found out about another work crisis that I did not see coming.

Daniel: It’s not something that’s gonna affect omega sphere, is it?

Ashley: So, why do you have jabot’s financials?

Tucker: Uh [Clears throat] It was exploratory. It was a way of making a connection with you before i decided to move back to town. You know I told you I asked diane to get her hands on them for me.

Ashley: Those came from her?

Tucker: Mm. But I, uh — I changed my mind about going after jabot since spending some time with you. I want our connection to be untainted. But, uh, that information did help me devise the alternate idea for the two of us. Do you see what you’re capable of? You have such sway over me. You have completely altered my agenda.

Ashley: Right.

Tucker: Hey. Do you not — hey, look at me. After what just happened, are you gonna tell me you don’t feel the power between us? I mean, you can goad me and play hard to get all you like. I know you know what’s happening between us is real.

[ Pounding on door ]

Devon: Tucker, open the door. Having diabetes can raise a lot of questions.

Lily: No, no, no, no. There is nothing for you to worry about. We are all behind omega sphere.

Daniel: Um, look, I don’t mean to make this all about me.

Lily: No.

Daniel: Do you want to talk about whatever the problem is?

Lily: I don’t, um — I don’t really want to talk about it.

Daniel: Okay. Sure. Um, probably want to get home and get some rest, right?

Lily: Well, I probably should do that, but I feel like if I go home, I’m just gonna… you know what? Why don’t we just sit here and talk about things that don’t matter?

[ Chuckles ]

Daniel: I’m in.

Lily: Okay. [ Chuckles ]

Jack: Are you sure you’re not using stark as an excuse to maybe find out what’s going on between us?

Diane: I promise you that wasn’t my intention. But maybe you’re right. Maybe we should talk about it. I mean, given the stakes of what we’re dealing with, it might be a good idea for us to clarify how we’re feeling — or, actually, for you to tell me how you feel because I’ve already told you how I feel.

Jack: Okay, stop, stop. Stop talking. I care a lot about you. Of course I do. You have to know that.

Nate: Audra. Hey.

Audra: What a lovely surprise. Um, and perfect timing.

[ Clears throat ] I’m here to celebrate. Would you like to join me?

Nate: Of course. Who am I to turn down an offer like that? And I’d love to hear this good news.

Audra: Ah, then it calls for a toast.

Nate: Okay. Excuse me. What are you having?

Audra: A vodka tonic.

Nate: And another scotch. On my tab, please. So, what are we celebrating?

Audra: Um, I’ve moved on from chancellor-winters.

Nate: Really? How’s that possible? They haven’t gone public yet.

Audra: Yeah, everything is in order, and they don’t need me for what comes next. So it’s off to my next adventure.

Nate: Ah. Does that mean you’re leaving genoa city?

Audra: Yeah. I mean, that’s the plan. I’m the kind of person that needs a challenge to keep me engaged.

Nate: I get it. I’m the same way. You know, if you’d ever consider sticking around, I might have just the opportunity for someone like you.

Audra: Really? I’m intrigued.

Tucker: Hey. What’s going on? You okay?

Ashley: Hi.

Tucker: Hi, ashley. I apologize for this.

[ Door closes ] It’s over, tucker.

Tucker: What’s over?

Devon: You and me, whatever relationship you think we have. It’s done. I know about your collusion with audra, and I know that you’re using her to try and scoop up controlling interest of the company after we take it public.

Tucker: If that were the case, why would I encourage you to trust your instincts that the ipo was a bad idea?

Devon: I don’t know. Maybe you were trying to throw me off track. I bet it was tough for you not to laugh, though, every time i talked about nate betraying us since he and victoria were just doing you a favor by distracting us and opening up a clear path for you and audra to screw over chancellor-winters.

Tucker: I don’t know what went down between you and audra.

Devon: You don’t know? You haven’t talked to her today yet? You should check your messages ’cause she’s been fired, meaning she no longer has access to anything chancellor-winters, which means that you no longer have access to it — or to me or to my son.

Tucker: [ Chuckles ] Whatever you think is going on here, you’re wrong about it.

Devon: Mm.

Tucker: Because I’ve never had any ill intentions towards you or your company. My only interest in your business is helping you.

Devon: Is that right?

Tucker: Yeah. And supporting you.

Devon: Okay. If that were the truth, then why did you come to town claiming that you wanted to connect with me and your grandson when you were really just using that relationship so you can stick a damn plant in my company to try and take it over? In my family’s company, the only real family I’ve ever had in my life, half thanks to you ’cause you never been there for me. And you obviously never will be.

Tucker: Uh…devon, let me explain something to you.

Devon: I don’t want to hear anything you have to say to me because I’m not gonna believe a word of it. Your talk is B.S. It’s B.S. On top of B.S. I don’t even know how you keep it all together in your head. And I really don’t know how I or anyone else believed your story about discovering yourself and the meaning of life ’cause the only meaning you ever find in anything is your own self-interest and greed. Because you will clearly — you’ll sacrifice your family to get your hands on the next shiny thing that you want.

Tucker: Hey, you are misunderstanding the circumstances, and you’re getting dangerously close to crossing the line with me.

Devon: And what the hell is that supposed to mean? There’s a line now that I’m getting close to crossing? You know something, tucker? You should leave genoa city tonight ’cause I’m gonna make it my mission to make for sure there’s no one left in this town who will ever defend you for the rest of your life.

[ Door slams ] If you have copd, ask your doctor about breztri.

Tucker: I’m sorry you had to hear that. You have to know that what he was accusing me of is just not true.

Ashley: Yeah, well, you know, I never trusted you anyway, so you couldn’t really sink any lower in my book.

Tucker: What are you talking about?

Ashley: Oh, well, all this — you know, all of this was just, um… you know, it was just an act so that I could get to the truth, you know? And because I was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time…

Tucker: Okay —

Ashley: …Mission accomplished, you know? So…

Tucker: Hold on.

Ashley: Bye, tucker.

Tucker: Wait a minute, ashley.

[ Door slams ]

Diane: [ Chuckles ] Well, that’s my cue to go to my hotel…alone.

Jack: I wasn’t suggesting otherwise.

Diane: That’s too bad.

Jack: I could, uh, give you a ride maybe.

Diane: Oh, no, I’m — I’m fine. I have my car.

Jack: Hey, I know we’re facing some serious challenges here. We’ll handle this together.

Audra: So, what kind of opportunity are you proposing?

Nate: I’m looking for a coo for newman media.

Audra: Hmm. Interesting.

Nate: If you really think so, you should throw your hat in the ring. I can’t promise you anything, but I believe you’d be a great candidate for this position.

Audra: I don’t disagree.

Nate: It would dovetail with your skill set while offering you a change from what you’ve been doing. And if it all works out, we’ll have plenty more to drink to.

Audra: Who am I to say no to that?

[ Laughs ]

Nate: Yeah?

Audra: Consider my hat tossed.

Tucker: [ Groans ] You look how I feel.

Phyllis: How do I look? How do you feel?

Tucker: So, you ready yet?

Phyllis: For what?

Tucker: Burn it all down.

Transcript provided by Suzanne

Taylor: Yeah, well today is the big day, we’re finally going to be rid of sheila forever. What time are you meeting with the judge?

Steffy: Um, ah, it’s later than we thought. We’re going to leave right after you.

Taylor: Okay, I’ll get out of here. But don’t forget what baker said. Your testimony’s are going to be crucial in sheila being put away forever. You know, I am so proud of you. I’m so proud of both of you. I know this isn’t easy. I know, but it’s necessary. Justice will be served and sheila will be locked up where she belongs.

Bill: So, we’re all set then? Good.

Sheila: I’m confused though, my attorney didn’t say anything about a meeting before the hearing today. Why does he want to see me?

Guard 1: It’s not your attorney who wants an audience with your majesty.

[ Buzzing ]Th

Deacon: I would’ve been here sooner but I just got back from out of town. We can talk about that later.

Guards 1: Sit. Now, you both know the rules. No touching or it’s back to your cell.

[ Buzzing ]

Deacon: God, I hate to see you in here, back behind bars, handcuffed. Sheila, I’m so sorry.

Sheila: You don’t need to be sorry. And this had nothing to do with you.

Deacon: Yeah, I know, but it’s like all the times that I told you that this is where you’d wind up, that it was only a matter of time. I got to admit, there was a– there was a little part of me that was betting that you were going to beat the odds.

Sheila: Maybe I have.

Deacon: Sweetheart, take a look around. This place is locked up tighter than fort knox. Houdini, on his best day, couldn’t escape.

Sheila: Yeah, I’m aware.

Deacon: So what? That means that you’ve just accepted the fact that you’re going to be in prison for a long time?

Taylor: Hey there, did you miss me?

Brooke: Taylor, you’re back.

Taylor: I just got in last night. How are you?

Brooke: Happy to see you.

Taylor: Happy to see you, too. Uh, a lot has changed since I’ve been gone.

Brooke: Oh, yes. If you’re talking about sheila.

Taylor: Yeah, I was– I was so happy when steffy called me and told me about sheila’s arrest.

Brooke: I feel the same.

Taylor: You know, I– I wasn’t sure that this day would ever come, ever. But here we are. Today is the day. Sheila is in custody, and she’s finally going to pay for all the terrible things she’s done.

Sheila: I want to thank you for coming to see me. I know this isn’t your favorite place to be.

Deacon: Yeah well, that’s true. I’ve been thinking about you a lot, you know, since you were arrested. By the way, thanks for not ratting me out.

Sheila: After everything you did for me, I really, I– I’m never going to be able to repay you.

Deacon: You already have by not saying anything. So, how they treating you in here?

Sheila: Like royalty.

Deacon: It’s good to see you haven’t lost your sense of humor. But I’m worried about you.

Sheila: That’s sweet. I’m gonna be okay.

Deacon: Still hoping for a miracle, huh?

Sheila: Yeah, well, you never know.

Deacon: Wow, you know, I expected to come here and find you down in the dumps, and you’re not. Unless this is all an act for my benefit.

Sheila: No. No, it’s not an act.

Deacon: Okay, then I’d like to ask you a question. What the hell were you doing going to spencer’s house that night? You knew the minute that he saw you, he’d call the cops.

Finn: You okay?

Steffy: Are you?

Finn: Well, neither one of us got much sleep last night.

Steffy: For good reason. If we don’t go along with bill, my mom goes to jail. And if we do, sheila’s free. It’s– it’s unthinkable.

Finn: I just still will never understand. Like, how did sheila get to bill in this way?

Steffy: I don’t know. And I honestly, I don’t care if– if bill feels abandoned and hurt. To allow someone like sheila carter into his life. I mean, you heard my mom, she is so excited about her future. My god, all this could be taken away if we agree to testify against sheila today.

Without the right start

to your day…

Taylor: I mean, of all the possible scenarios, bill was the one that apprehended sheila.

Brooke: I know, but then bill does love playing the hero.

[ Laughing ]

Taylor: Well, you know, he wasn’t really playing this time because sheila showed up at his house and he immediately turned her in. In my book, that’s a real hero.

Brooke: Mine, too.

Taylor: Yeah.

Brooke: You know, katie went over to see him and to tell him how grateful we all are for what he did.

Taylor: Oh, that’s sweet. I’m sure he appreciated that.

Brooke: Yeah, you’d think so.

Taylor: But he didn’t?

Brooke: Katie said he seemed genuinely surprised that she was there to thank him. Almost like he’s an afterthought. Like, we really don’t care about him. Which is not true.

Taylor: Oh, of course not. I’m sorry about that, I– I’m not close with bill spencer, you know, given our complicated history and all. But, you know, I hope whatever it is, I hope it works out. You know, it’s because of bill that– that sheila’s going to be out of our lives, especially after steffy and finn talk to the judge today.

Steffy: It’s my dad. He wants to be there with us today.

Finn: What did you tell him?

Steffy: Not to come. He’s been traveling, doing some soul searching, especially after what happened with my mom and brooke. Besides, he should not be here. Bill hates my dad, and if he is here it’s just going to incite bill to–

Finn: No, that’s– that’s the last thing we need.

Steffy: Yeah, exactly.

Finn: Do you think he’s just going to do as you ask?

Steffy: You know my dad. He supports his family, but since he thinks he already knows what we’re going to say, he’s not pushing to be here.

Finn: Well, do we know what we’re going to say? Because I’ve got to tell you, steffy, as much as I love you and your mother, the thought of caving to spencer, not testifying to make sure sheila remains behind bars. That’s what I’m struggling with here.

Steffy: I know, I am so sorry I put you in this position.

Finn: No, they… you didn’t put me in this position. Spencer did. He can call it whatever he wants, but it’s still blackmail and blackmailing my wife, threatening to throw her mother in jail. That’s– I don’t know how I’ll ever look like that guy without total contempt, no matter what we say today.

Steffy: I know and we should, uh, we should get going. I know this is wishful thinking, but there’s still some time for bill to come to his senses and realize what he’s doing is wrong. No one deserves to get justice served more than sheila carter.

Deacon: Seriously, what were you thinking? Hightailing it to bill spencer’s place, asking him for help? I mean, did you honestly think there was a snowball’s chance in hell that that would even happen? All right, look, it doesn’t matter. All right, what’s done is done. What matters is– is what happens going forward, right? I hear you’re going to see the judge later today.

Sheila: Yes.

Deacon: You gotta to be dreading that. Oh, come on sheila, you don’t have to put on a brave face for me. Finn and steffy, they’re going to make you out to be hannibal lecter’s spawn. They are going to detail every horrible thing that you did to their families. I just want you to know that you’re not alone. I’m not going to abandon you, even if everyone else has. I mean, there’s not much that I can do with you in here. Come visit you, you know. I’ll keep you up on what’s going on in the outside, and we’ll have to do it on the down low, but… I know that you said that– that this isn’t over. That the best was yet to come. But, I’m afraid this is the end of the line. Postmenopausal women with hr+ her2-

Sheila: I can see and hear your concern. And it’s– it’s sweet. But it’s like I said before, deacon. Everyone has always underestimated me.

Deacon: Yeah, including yours truly, at first. But sheila, I mean, you’re back behind bars. You’re going to be seeing the judge in a few. And look… I don’t wanna– I don’t want to make things more difficult. Okay, that’s not why I came.

Sheila: But then, why– why don’t you tell me. Why did you come?

Deacon: I had to see you. I had to tell you that I– I really enjoyed our time together. And I care about you.

Sheila: I care about you, too. Who knows, I mean, if– if things had been different. Maybe we would’ve had a chance.

Guard 1: Okay, you two, got to wrap it up.

Deacon: Listen, despite this brave facade, I know you’ve got to be scared. I know because I’ve been where you are. I’ve been locked up. I’ve been away from the people that I love, I know. Look, I’m gonna come visit you so you don’t feel so alone. Sheila, I’m never gonna turn my back on you, I promise.

Guard 1: Rise.

[ Buzzing ]

Sheila: Bye.

Deacon: Bye.

Steffy: Oh, my god.

Finn: Look, the judge is on his way. What are we gonna do?

Steffy: I know what I want to do. I want sheila in jail for the rest of her life. But how can I make this happen? How can I risk my mother’s freedom? My god, if she knew what bill was doing right now…

Finn: By blackmailing us?

Steffy: My mom would sacrifice herself. She would go straight to the police. She would confess what she did to bill all those years ago. Bill, what are you doing here?

Bill: Hoping to put this behind us. Remind you of our deal.

Finn: Yeah, that’s all we’ve been thinking about for days.

Steffy: We hate that you’re putting us in this position.

Bill: Please keep your voices down and watch what you’re saying.

Finn: Look, even if steffy and I do what you want. What about my mother? Sheila terrorized her, ran her off the road, tried to kill her. She can just come forward–

Bill: Lee is going to have to be kept quiet. Now let’s not forget that she did sneak you out of a hospital and falsify medical records. That could have a negative impact on her career, not to mention jeopardizing her freedom.

Finn: So now you’re threatening my mother, too.

Steffy: Have you forgotten that sheila escaped prison? One way or the other she’s going to do the time.

Bill: All I’m telling you is I don’t want to hear a word out of you and finn today.

Steffy: You think you can handle this? This is impossible.

Bill: We should leave before the judge gets here. Remember, sheila’s freedom for your mother’s freedom. Do you like…

Taylor: I– I wish today was open to the public.

Brooke: I know.

Taylor: You know, I just– I just want to see sheila’s face. I want to see her face when they haul her away.

Brooke: Me, too. When I think of the immense heartache and suffering that she’s brought to all of our families, the fear, the fear that we’ve had to live with. I mean, I’m surprised we survived it all.

Taylor: Yeah, you know, I’ve– I’ve seen a lot of patients with varying degrees of challenges through my career, but, you know, I’ve treated them all successfully. Some who are even labeled untreatable. But sheila carter is– she actually is untreatable because she doesn’t think she needs to be treated. She doesn’t think anything’s wrong with her. I’m just really glad that she’s going to be locked away for the rest of her life, you know. Maybe she’ll get some help there. Just feels good to know that she’ll be– she’ll be put away securely, away from all of us. All thanks to steffy and finn.

Finn: Look, it’s almost time. We have to decide what we’re going to do.

Steffy: You heard bill. He’s not budging. Either we do what he wants, or… oh, my god, the man has lost it. He wants us to do unthinkable things. I mean, my mom made one mistake and she regrets it. But it pales in comparison to all the evil things sheila has done.

Sheila: Hello finn. Hello, steffy. Not even a hi?

Counsellor: Miss carter, I would advise you to keep your comments to yourself.

Sheila: We were asked to review my case before trial. I just hope you do what’s best for everyone, you both know why.

Judge: Sorry to keep everyone waiting. I apologize. Please be seated. I’m judge mcmillan. As I’m sure you’re all aware that we’re here today in this closed session to gather testimony and information regarding the case pertaining to a miss sheila carter. Does the counselor have any opening remarks?

Counsellor: No, your honor.

Judge: Very well, then. Um… thank you for being here today, dr. Finnegan. Ms. Forrester. Your testimony, along with your statements today will prove very crucial in this case. I’d like to begin with you, dr. Finnegan. From what I understand, ms. Carter, is your biological mother, a fact that you were unaware of until a year or so ago. Is that correct?

Finn: Uh, yes.

Judge: All right. Let’s get started doctor. Are you ready to proceed with the case regarding miss sheila carter?

Update written by Joseph

Alex lays in bed and waits for Stephanie as she’s freshening up in the bathroom. Stephanie’s phone rings again with a call from Chad. Alex sees it and questions Chad calling again and not taking a hint. Alex rejects the call again and declares that Chad is not interrupting them this time.

At the hospital, Chad leaves a message for Stephanie, saying she needs to get to the hospital right away as it’s her mom. Chad hangs up and worries that Stephanie doesn’t have much time.

Steve brings Kayla water in her hospital bed. Kayla remarks that nothing should surprise them about Kristen, but she can’t believe Kristen would knowingly put three people’s lives at risk because of her obsession with Brady. Steve tells her not to worry about Kristen and to focus on beating this thing and getting better. Kayla wishes she had his optimism but worries about not getting the orchid soon. Steve tells Kayla that they need to keep the faith.

John takes care of Marlena at home. John says Brady is out looking for the orchid with a couple of Black Patch investigators. Marlena wonders if Kristen is lying about the orchid being stolen and says she wouldn’t put it past her. John agrees that he wouldn’t put anything past Kristen, but he thinks she’s on the level this time. Marlena guesses they just have to hope they find it before it’s too late.

After Rex announces Kate’s death, Roman urges him to do more but Rex cries that they’ve done all they can and he’s sorry but Kate is gone. Roman says they just found their way back to each other and they were going to get it right this time. Rex decides to give them a moment alone. Rex tells Roman that Kate told him many times how happy Roman made her and that she loved him very much. Rex then exits the room.

Steve reminds Kayla of how many times they’ve overcome obstacles that they didn’t think were possible over the years. Steve credits the power of their love. Kayla asks Steve to go check on Roman and Kate, but Steve says they have each other so he’s not going to leave her side. Kayla assures that she’s fine and stable and has her call button. Kayla points out that Kate was worse than her, so she just needs him to go check if Roman and Kate are okay. Steve agrees if that’s what she wants and says he won’t be gone long as he then exits the room.

Chad tries calling Stephanie again. Alex says he’s relentless but says not tonight as he rejects Chad’s call for a third time. Stephanie then comes back from the bathroom in her underwear and asks Alex if it was worth the wait. Alex says definitely as she gets in bed and they start kissing.

John tells Marlena that he has a theory about who could have taken the Orchid. Marlena asks who it is. John asks who else, but the maniac that put this whole thing in motion.

Orpheus is in prison, reading The Art of War.

Marlena questions John thinking that Orpheus has the Orchid. John says that Orpheus’ reach goes far beyond prison, so he could have easily had someone do it for him. Marlena guesses John will be taking a trip to prison but John says he doesn’t feel comfortable leaving her like this. Marlena points out that Eric is there if she needs anything, so John decides he will take a quick trip. Marlena assures that she will be fine because she has John to live for. John tells her that he loves her and kisses her.

Lucas goes to the prison waiting room but sees Orpheus and decides that he will come back later. Orpheus then tells him not to leave on his account and asks about seeing his lovely mother here earlier. Lucas warns him to watch what he says about his mother. Orpheus says he was just paying her a compliment. Orpheus remarks that Kate was sure looking well. Lucas says that’s no thanks to him and that he knows all about how Orpheus tried to kill Kate, Kayla, and Marlena. Orpheus tells him to take it easy. Orpheus remarks that even if he had poisoned them, obviously it didn’t take, since Kate is still alive and well…

Roman wishes he hadn’t wasted so much time wanting Kate from afar and says he’s so sorry that he waited so long to tell her how he felt and that he couldn’t protect her from Orpheus and Kristen. Roman hopes they suffer in Hell forever for what they did to her. Roman cries that he loves her so much and he will forever for the rest of his life. Roman breaks down crying that he will miss her so much.

Chad sees Rex come from Kate’s room and asks him what’s going on. Steve comes over as Rex announces to Steve and Chad that Kate is gone, shocking them as Steve hugs Rex.

Stephanie and Alex kiss until she asks him what’s wrong. Stephanie reminds him that he doesn’t have to worry about protection since she came prepared. Alex reveals that he did too. Stephanie asks what the problem is then. Alex says he just really wants to make sure that she’s ready. Stephanie assures that she definitely is and asks if he is. Alex responds that he’s been ready since the first moment he saw her in the town square. Stephanie decides that settles it then as they resume kissing.

Steve hugs Chad and says he will go check on Roman. Rex mentions that he has to go call his brothers and sisters, so he tells Steve to take care of Roman. Steve tells Chad that he’s so sorry as he knows Kate loved him very much. Chad responds that Kate was always there for him. Steve asks if he was able to reach Stephanie. Chad informs him that he called her several times and left messages, but she hasn’t called him back. Steve says he needs Stephanie here. Chad tells Steve to go be with Roman and he will go find Stephanie. Steve asks if he even knows where she is. Chad thinks he has an idea. Chad tells Steve not to worry as he will get Stephanie there.

Stephanie and Alex continue kissing in bed.

Eric brings Marlena soup in bed. Marlena says she’ll try to get some down a little later on. Eric asks how she’s feeling. Marlena responds that she’s better now that he’s there, but she’s worried. Marlena brings up Eric taking Kristen’s daughter and how volatile she can be when provoked, so she wonders if Eric thought about that. Eric guesses he should have. Marlena mentions that it’s like playing with fire. Eric knows he should’ve since Marlena has more experiences than anyone dealing with psychopaths in town. Marlena says speaking of people that are unbalanced, John went to Statesville to see Orpheus. Eric hopes that John has better luck getting Orpheus to tell them where the Orchid is than he had with Kristen.

Lucas tells Orpheus that he better be glad they found that serum in time to save Kate and her friends. Orpheus mockingly questions what Lucas would’ve done if they hadn’t and calls him pathetic. The guard warns him to knock it off. Orpheus responds that he’s just having a little fun with Bill Horton’s bastard. Lucas says screw you to Orpheus as John arrives and tells Lucas to relax as Orpheus isn’t worth it. Lucas asks what John is doing here. Orpheus remarks that John must have come to see his ex-son in law, the booze hound who kidnapped his stepdaughter. Orpheus jokes that God will cut John some slack if he let Lucas rot in prison. John responds that he’s not here for Lucas, but for Orpheus.

Steve joins Roman in Kate’s hospital room and tells him that he’s so sorry. Steve states that he and Kate had their differences but one thing they had in common was their love and respect they had for Roman. Steve knows they were meant for each other and how happy Kate made Roman. Roman hopes he made her happy too. Steve assures that he did. Roman asks how Kayla is. Steve responds that she’s hanging in there. Roman says she has to make it and that he’s praying for her and Marlena. Roman cries that Kate would be doing the same thing as he hugs Steve.

Orpheus questions John being there for him and jokes that he’s surprised and flattered. John accuses Orpheus of having the Orchid and asks where it is. Orpheus claims to not have it nor any idea where it may be. Lucas asks what’s going on. John reveals that Kate, Marlena, and Kayla are sick again and apparently need another dose of the original serum but the Orchid has gone missing. Lucas declares he has to go check on Kate and rushes away. Orpheus guesses Christmas came late around here because John is definitely the bearer of good tidings.

Marlena wants to talk about Eric and his life. Eric mentions Nicole convincing Jada to have an abortion but he knows that’s not exactly what happened and that the decision was Jada’s. Marlena asks about him blaming Nicole. Eric just wishes she hadn’t gotten involved. Marlena brings up Eric getting involved in bar room brawls. Marlena knows how much Eric wanted a family. Marlena promises he will have one but she doesn’t want what’s happening in his life to harden his heart. Eric tells Marlena that he loves her.

Lucas uses the prison phone to call Rex. Lucas says he just saw John. Rex says he was just about to call him. Lucas asks what’s going on. Rex wishes he had better news and that he didn’t have to tell him over the phone. Rex then informs Lucas that Kate is gone, leaving him in shock.

Steve returns to Kayla’s hospital room. Kayla asks how Kate is. Steve tells her that he’s so sorry. Kayla starts to worry about Roman and Kate’s children. Kayla declares that she needs to see their kids and asks where Stephanie is. Steve tells her that Chad went to go find her. Kayla cries as Steve tells her it’s okay.

Chad walks through the town square and tries calling Stephanie again. Chad leaves another message that he’s at the town square and thought she and Alex would be at the Bistro. Chad says he didn’t want to have to leave this voicemail but he can’t find her and she’s not picking up her phone. Chad reveals that Kate is dead and that Kayla is really sick, so he needs her to call him back or get to the hospital right away.

Alex and Stephanie continue kissing in bed as her phone lies on the table nearby.

Roman joins Steve in Kayla’s room. Kayla tells Roman that she’s so sorry about Kate. Steve decides he will go out and make some calls to see if he can reach Joey and Tripp. Kayla tells Roman that she asked Steve to call their kids because she needs to see them. Kayla tells Roman that she’s so glad he’s there but her heart goes out to him losing Kate as she knows how much he loved her. Roman talks about how they were able to appreciate each other more than ever and not take each other for granted. Roman is grateful their son Rex was there with them as he’s been such a comfort. Kayla encourages that Rex will get through this because he has Roman as a dad. Kayla calls Roman the strongest person. Roman encourages Kayla that she’s going to beat this. Roman declares that he just lost his wife, so he’ll be damned if he loses his baby sister too.

Orpheus questions John telling him that Kristen used the Orchid in to blackmailing Brady in to playing house with her but then couldn’t produce the Orchid. John accuses him of stealing it from the DiMera Mansion where Kristen had it hidden. Lucas comes back and goes after Orpheus, shouting that he’s going to kill him like he killed his mother. John questions him. Lucas reveals that he just talked to Rex, who told him that Kate is dead. Lucas wants to make Orpheus pay. Lucas tries to attack Orpheus but guards pull him off. John tell the guard to take it easy as Lucas just lost his mother. Lucas cries about not getting a chance to say goodbye. John assures that Kate knew how much he loved her. John hates to leave him like this but he has to get back to Marlena. Lucas says he’ll be praying for her. John tells Lucas to take care of himself and stay away from Orpheus.

Alex and Stephanie lay in bed together after having sex. Alex asks how she’s feeling. Stephanie says she’s more relaxed than she’s felt in a long time. They kiss until Chad bursts in and covers his eyes as he apologizes. Alex questions what the hell he’s doing there. Chad explains that Henderson let him in. Chad says he’s been calling Stephanie and she’s not answering her phone. Stephanie says she didn’t get any calls while Alex says they were a little busy doing something. Stephanie asks Chad what could be so urgent that he had to track her down here. Chad reveals that it’s her mom as she’s in the hospital and has relapsed. Stephanie asks what he means. Chad explains that it seems Kayla, Kate, and Marlena needed more than the original dose of the cure. Chad says it’s bad and reveals that Kate didn’t make it. Stephanie is shocked and says she has to get to her mom as she rushes to get ready. Alex says he can’t believe this and it’s terrible about Kate as he hopes Kayla can pull through. Chad says he hopes to God that she does and he just wishes he could’ve reached Stephanie sooner. Chad says he’ll meet them downstairs and exits. Alex then looks over at Stephanie’s phone.

John returns to Marlena and Eric at home. Marlena asks if he got any information out of Orpheus. John says no as he denies knowing anything about the missing Orchid. John assures that they aren’t giving up and his investigators are staying right on top of it. Marlena hopes that Kate and Kayla can make it through the night. John looks away, so Marlena asks what’s wrong. John then informs her that Kate didn’t make it. Marlena can’t believe it. John reveals that Lucas was on the phone with Rex and told them. Eric decides he needs to go check on Roman and Kayla and hurries out. Marlena cries over losing Kate and prays for Kayla to be okay.

Steve returns to Kayla’s room and says he got Joey and Tripp on the line. Roman decides he will let Kayla talk to them in private but promises he won’t be far as he exits. Steve gives Kayla the phone to talk to Joey and Tripp. Kayla says it’s so good to hear their voices. Kayla tells Joey that she’s so proud of the man he’s become and calls him the gift that God gave them when they got back together years ago. Kayla tells Tripp that she may not have given birth to him but she loves him in every way a mother could. Kayla says she loves all three of her children. Kayla says see you later and tells them to be good and to look after Steve. Kayla says goodbye and hangs up. Kayla cries to Steve that she needs to sleep but Steve says she has to wait for Stephanie. Kayla responds that she can’t as she has to go with her mom. Steve cries that they need her here. Steve pleads with Kayla not to leave them. Kayla says she needs to see Stephanie. Steve encourages her to hold on as she’s coming. Kayla says she can’t as she is so tired. Kayla tells Steve that she loves him. Steve cries that he loves her forever and hugs her.

Stephanie, Chad, and Alex arrive at the hospital. Chad hopes it’s not too late.

Stephanie enters Kayla’s hospital room as she has flatlined and Steve is crying over her. Steve tells Stephanie that he’s sorry and hugs her as she breaks down crying.

Chad goes to Kate’s hospital room and starts to cry. Chad sits at her side and says he loves her and will miss her more than she could ever know.

Lucas calls Orpheus a real son of a bitch. Orpheus tells him to calm down. Lucas argues that his mom is dead because of him. Orpheus apologizes for the way he behaved earlier and admits it was insensitive. Lucas tells him to save it as he doesn’t need his sympathy. Lucas shouts that he knows what a monster he really is. Orpheus then offers Lucas a bottle of whiskey and asks if a monster would bring him that. Lucas questions what he’s doing. Orpheus responds that he knows the pain of losing a loved one, so he thought it might take the edge off. Orpheus calls it a bereavement gift as he leaves the bottle with Lucas and exits the room.

Eric returns to John and Marlena’s room. Marlena asks if there’s any news on Kayla. Eric announces that he spoke to Roman and shakes his head. Marlena breaks down crying for Kayla.

Stephanie pleads with Steve to tell her this isn’t real and that Kayla’s not gone. Steve responds that he’s so sorry and she tried to hold on for her. Stephanie asks if Kayla was asking for her. Steve confirms that she was very weak in the end. Stephanie asks again if she asked for her. Steve admits that she did as her kids were her world. Stephanie cries that she wasn’t there and didn’t get to say goodbye. Steve hugs Stephanie as she cries and assures that Kayla knows. Alex looks in to the room and sees them. Alex turns back to Chad and informs him that Stephanie was too late. Chad responds that he can’t believe Stephanie’s phone got turned off and now she never got to say goodbye as he walks away, leaving Alex looking mortified at what he caused.

MILF Manor on TLC

TV Article!

MILF Manor key art from TLC

In Defense of MILF Manor (Or is it Rubbish)? by Jonathon M.

There’s a new show on TLC called MILF Manor. I am the furthest thing away from a reality TV watcher that you can find, but I’ll probably give this a watch. I’m a sucker for hot guys.

Let’s do some thought experiments:

What do you think that the reaction would be if the gender roles were reversed? I am guessing that certain groups of activists would have something to say. But nobody cares about much younger guys being in such a situation. I am not lecturing, because I am eagerly going to watch. But it’s probably a double standard. I always take the approach that consenting adults can do what they want.

What if everyone was gay and male? I would actually like to see this. On a side note, most dating shows are heteronormitive. Although perhaps this would be less popular, since most people aren’t gay.

Perhaps you can make a case for this; it’s different.

I think that all reality TV shows are absolute garbage, so is this much different than the rest of the trash out there? I don’t think so.

Isn’t it time that older women who like younger guys got some representation in dating shows? OK, I’m making up absurd angles to justify this show’s existence. It’s fun to do this!

This concept probably generates TLC some publicity. Fewer news articles would be written about a dating show about similarly aged heterosexual couples.

There’s a twist, but I don’t know what it is yet. I’m just assuming it’s each other’s sons who are participating. Meh, as long as there’s no incest, then I don’t really see a problem. Again, this would be done to stir up controversy, and gain publicity.

Update written by Barbara

At Crimson Lights, Phyllis is distracted while Daniel tries tries to get her to prepare a top notch tech team for his gaming platform.  Choking back tears, she tells him she is upset because Summer chose Diane over her. Daniel decides to let Phyllis know about his conversation with Summer and what Summer told him about being in the middle of her mother and Kyle’s mother.

Daniel also lets Phyllis know that Summer feels there’s Diane’s presence in all of their lives poses a risk, due to Diane’s association with a criminal. Daniel urges Phyllis to reach out to her daughter. Phyllis decides he’s right, and heads  to the Abbott house to find Summer and make amends with her.

Meanwhile, at the Abbott house, Diane is having second thoughts about stealing from Nikki. Jack mentions that Nikki is the ideal victim and urges Diane to move ahead with the plan.

When Ashley comes into the living room, she angrily mentions that Diane and Jack are  “conspiring”. Diane says that she doesn’t want to come between Ashley and Jack, which causes Ashley to storm out of the house. She goes over to Tucker’s suite at The Grand Phoenix. Apologizing for showing up unannounced, Ashley complaining vigorously that Diane is basically around all the time and has “infected” her family “like a virus.”

Tucker and Ashley start flirting, and land in bed. Smiling in the afterglow, Ashley admits to Tucker how she hates that she loves this and does not consider it evidence that things between them will work. Tucker realizes he shouldn’t push it and goes to take a shower. This gives Ashley the opportunity to look through some of his files.

One of them is a set of plans for a company named Ashley Abbott Beauty Incorporated, another is all of Jabot’s financial information. Tucker catches Ashley snooping tells her that what she found was an “exploratory” way of making a connection with her before he came to town. Tucker mentions that Ashley completely changed his agenda and tells Ashley that he knows she’s aware that’s happening between them is real.

After Devon gets information from his source that connects Audra and Tucker, he summons Audra to Chancellor-Winters. Lily is there when Devon confronts Audra and accuses her of being a traitor. Devon lets Audra know he’s aware that her phone’s text tone is the same as the one on Tucker’s phone, so clearly the two of them have been in cohoots.

In addition, Devon tells Audra he found out that the company with the name of the first song Tucker ever produced paid off her student loans. Audra admits that she knows Tucker, but  denies that anything shady is going on and tries to keep the Chancellor-Winters IPO moving forward. Lily speaks up, declaring that Audra is fired, and suggests that Devon have security escort Audra off the premises. Audra tries one final time for Devon to allow her to keep her job, but he won’t won’t back down. Any and all trust between Devon and Audra is broken.

After Audra makes a vague reference to the possibility of going to work for the competition, Devon reminds her that she signed a NDA she signed and tells her that if she violates it, she’ll end up in court by the end of the day. As Audra leaves, she tells Devon that it’s his loss. She also makes a snide remark about him being a poor judge of character because he keeps letting “foxes into the hen house.” She mentions his cousin, his father and now her, and tells him he has been played more than once.

Audra goes over to Society, where she runs into Nate at the bar. She tells him that she’s there to celebrate. She proposes a toast because she has moved on from Chancellor-Winters. She says that she is about to start on her next adventure. Nate wonders why she left Chancellor-Winters before the company goes public, and Audra tells him that that everything is in order for the IPO and they don’t need for what comes next. She does not let on that she did not leave Chancellor-Winters of her own volition, that she was fired.

Nate mentions that he could use a COO at Newman Media, and she’d be a potentially good fit for the position. He lets her know that if she’s interested, she can throw her hat in the ring. He also tells her, however, that he can’t promise her anything. Audra says that she finds the situation intriguing and tells Nate to consider her hat tossed.

Devon bangs on the door to Tucker’s suite and interrupts Tucker’s time with Ashley. After Devon announces that any relationship that he had with Tucker is over, he lets Tucker know he’s aware that Audra was a plant at Tucker at Chancellor-Winters for Tucker. Devon accuses Tucker of trying to scoop up a controlling interest in the company before it would go public.

Tucker tries to explain, but Devon rages about how Tucker’s talk is “BS on top of BS” and lets him know hat Audra was fired from Chancellor-Winters. He adds that Tucker will no longer have access to his him, to his son and now that Audra’s out of the picture he won’t have access to anything relating to the family company.

Devon accuses himself of self-interest and greed. Tucker tells Devon that he’s misunderstanding the circumstances and is dangerously close to crossing the line with him. Devon is aghast that Tucker would even say something like this in light of all the lying he has done. He strongly

Devon lets him know that after what has transpired, he will make sure there’s no one in town who will ever defend Tucker for the rest of his life. He strongly suggests that Tucker leave Genoa City that night. After Devon storms out, Ashley, who witnessed the altercation, tells Tucker that she never trusted Tucker anyway, and sleeping with him and seemingly enjoying it was all an act.

She adds that she happened to be in the right place at the right time to witness what she did between Devon and Tucker, so she has seen the kind of person Tucker can be. However, after leaving Tucker’s suite, Ashley pauses in the hall, looking sad and pensive. Tucker slams his door and hurls a bunch of papers across the room.

Lily goes to Crimson Lights, where she bumps into Daniel. He asks how she’s doing and she references a work crisis that she didn’t see coming. She adds that she doesn’t want to go home yet so Daniel and just wants to stay at the coffeehouse for awhile and “talk about things that don’t matter”. He agrees to hang out with her.

Meanwhile, Diane is at the Abbott house with Jack and lets him know that she has the desire to kiss him again and what she is feeling is not a hold over from years ago or about gratitude for  how wonderful he has been to her since she got back to town. She tells him that what she feels now is different becauuse she is different.

Jack says that this is good to know and wonders why she is telling him now. She replies that it’s because she’s going to have a difficult time going through with their plan and pretend that she wants to spend time with Jeremy feeling the way she does about Jack. This leads to them kissing passionately.

When Phyllis shows up at the Abbott house, looking for Summer, before ringing the bell, she looks through the glass panes in the front door and sees Jack and Diane kissing. She leaves and winds up at the Glam Club sitting alone in misery. Tucker comes over with a drink in his hand, sits down next to her and mentions that she looks the way he feels.  When Phyllis asks him how does she look and how does he feel, he replies by asking her if she’s ready to “burn it all down”.

She wants to schedule the transplant right away but thinks they should induce labor first. Willow is worried about having premature birth. Later, Terry tells them that the donor fell through. Michael is optimistic about other possible treatments and donors.

Martin tries to stop Dante and Jordan from questioning Esme, but Finn examines her and pronounces her fit for questioning. Dante shows her photos, but she claims not to know anything. Sonny goes to Nina’s and tells her and Ava that Nikolas will be staying with him. Ava tells him that she’s taking Wyndemere from Nikolas. Sonny and Nina get romantic. Sonny sees something in one of the papers from Britt’s office.

Steffy tells Finn that Ridge wanted to come to court to support her, but she told him not to, since he’s been traveling and “soul-searching.” Finn is really angry at Bill for blackmailing them. He doesn’t think he can ever respect him again. They leave for court. After they get there, Bill arrives. He wants to make sure they remember his deal. They assure him that’s all they’ve been thinking about. Finn reminds Bill that even if they don’t press charges, Li might, since Sheila almost killed her. Bill suggests that Li should keep her mouth shut, or else her career might suffer, since she took Finn out of the hospital and kept him secreted away, letting everyone think that he was dead. Finn gets even angrier that Bill is now threatening his mother, too.

Bill leaves and watches from another room on his laptop. Steffy keeps fretting about their situation. The guard brings Sheila in, and she says hello, but Steffy and Finn say nothing. Her lawyer arrives and advises her not to speak. Then the judge arrives. While they all prepare for the hearing, Sheila looks up at Bill via the camera.

Taylor visits Brooke at Forrester Creations and they hug. They talk about how Sheila will be finally going to prison after Finn and Steffy give their testimony. They’re grateful to Bill for turning her in to the police. Brooke tells her that Katie went to visit him and thank him, but he seem surprised that any of them care about him at all. Taylor thinks that’s very sad. They go back to discussing Sheila and how great it will be to have her out of their lives and to not live in fear any more.

Jeremy: Diane, you look lovely. Reminds me how chic you used to look every time we used to go out.

Diane: Charming as ever. You always knew just what to say to make me feel beautiful.

Jeremy: Just stating the obvious. Sit.

Diane: Oh, and thoughtful, too. I see you’ve already ordered my favorite champagne.

Jeremy: Only the best for you.

Diane: Well, I’m hoping this means we have something to celebrate.

Jeremy: Let’s see where the evening takes us.

Diane: I was just about to say the same thing.

Sally: Believe me, ghosting you is the last thing on my mind.

Nick: What’s that?

Sally: What?

Nick: What you just threw away.

Sally: Oh, those are just drafts of the pitch that Chloe and I are working on for Jill and Chancellor-Winters.

Nick: Why don’t you let me take a look at it. I know Jill very well. I might be able to give you some insight on how to win her over.

Sally: Uh, no, no. Really, the drafts are not worth looking at, but I might take you up on your offer once we figure everything out. Did you really think that I was trying to blow you off?

Nick: Nah, I wouldn’t be here if I did. I was just thinking about you. A lot. I was just wondering how you’re doing. I’m hoping the stomach bug. Are you still feeling better?

Interview with Scott Caan and Dania Ramirez

TV Interview!

Scott Caan and Dania Ramirez, stars of "Alert" on FOX.

Interview with Scott Caan and Dania Ramirez of “Alert” on FOX by Suzanne 12/14/22

This was a fun panel with the two stars of this new procedural show, the show’s EP, and FOX’s President of Scripted Programming. The show might remind you a little bit of “Without a Trace,” the show that ran from 2002 to 2009. It was about another missing person’s unit. However, in this one, the two lead characters are divorced, mainly because their own son was taken. Then there are many twists and turns involving the son, as well as new cases that they solve. Check it out! It premieres tonight, January 8, after football on FOX.

NOTE: They’re now calling this show “Alert: Missing Persons Unit.”

JAMIE FOXX: Hi, everybody. It’s Jamie Foxx here to introduce to you our brand new action drama on FOX called Alert. Set within the Philly Police Department of Missing Persons Unit, each episode explores the dark side of the City of Brotherly Love. It’s an intense race against the clock where every second counts, as it’s impossible not to fear the worst when a loved one has gone, either kidnapped or gone missing.

Bringing the action of Alert into dramatic focus is our incredible cast, Scott Caan and Dania Ramirez. Scott Caan returns to police procedurals as Jason Grant, who has to team up with his ex wife, Nikki Batista, played by Dania. Together, they will help others by saving lives and bringing criminals to justice while also facing their own quest to find out the truth about their long lost son.

You know what’s hurting me the worst? The fact that I cannot be there with you guys because of production schedules, but you’re in great hands because the cast is there and my right hand man, my executive producing partner John Eisendrath is going to take you through the whole thing. And last but not least, head of scripted television at FOX, my man, Michael Thorn.

So ladies and gentlemen, enjoy. But before we get started, here is Alert.

(Clip played.)

LES EISNER: Hello, everyone. Welcome back to the Alert panel. Joining us today are actors, Scott Caan and Dania Ramirez; creator, executive producer and showrunner John Eisendrath; and Michael Thorn of FOX Entertainment.

Let’s get right into it. Lots of questions coming in. So thank you.

QUESTION: Good morning. This is for Scott. After ten years on Hawaii 5 0, what was it about this series and this character that made you willing to recommit to the possibility of maybe another long, grueling schedule?

SCOTT CAAN: That’s a good question. I mean, there’s a lot of different reasons. I mean, I think this script was really special. I think that, you know, there’s a lot of a lot of procedurals kind of have a formula that I didn’t notice in this. This show has a real serialized piece of the show. It’s not just a procedural. But honestly, I don’t when I read things, I don’t think about what kind of a show it is. I just, you know, find if I can find something in myself that I can put into this character, then that’s what that’s what makes me decide I want to do something.

And also, you know, I I’m grateful to be given a job too. So I don’t I don’t do a lot of questioning when it comes to what kind of a show it is. I just like I said, I’m grateful to be hired, and, you know, I like to work. And I think that there’s a lot of there’s a lot of acting problems in this show that I enjoy, and there is a lot of things that make this show something that is different than anything out there. You know, the idea of finding your son after not knowing where he’s been for seven years, I don’t think that that’s an experience that anybody on the planet’s actually had. So to me, like I said, it’s an acting problem that I’ve never been faced with, it’s an acting problem that I’ve never read before. So to me, it’s something that I immediately felt uncomfortable and didn’t know exactly how I was going to approach it, and those are the kind of things that turn me on when it comes to digging into a part. If I get a little nervous and don’t quite know what I’m going to do yet, then that’s a good sign that I should probably move forward and do it. So I don’t know if that answered the question, but I could talk about that specifically for a very long time. But that’s my short answer.

DANIA RAMIREZ: I love watching him be uncomfortable, personally.

(Laughter.)

DANIA RAMIREZ: So it’s been really fun to act with him. One of those problems, I guess.

SCOTT CAAN: Yeah. Again, I don’t no, I was going to say, I don’t know if that answered the question enough, but that’s my short answer.

DANIA RAMIREZ: You were brilliant.

SCOTT CAAN: Thank you.

QUESTION: Hey, guys. Thanks for being here. John, first of all, welcome back to FOX.

Tell me about where these cases are coming from, because I’m guessing this is a world that you can really tap into. There’s so much going on, so many missing people. But can you talk about where you’re pulling your cases from for all the stories?

JOHN EISENDRATH: Well, there are a lot of cases that we can draw from if we chose to do just ripped from the headlines. We have yes, if you’ve seen episode 2, you know that there’s a story that has at its heart, is a story about fentanyl and the overuse of it and the scourge of fentanyl in America today, which I think is very topical. So some of the episodes are definitely ripped from the headlines, and some of them have that kind of connection to, I hope, what a lot of people are thinking about, talking about, and in some ways as a parent worried about for their kids. So some of it is that, and some of it is just based on what we think would make for just the most urgent, heart pounding case that we can think of and the ones that have the highest stakes. And, again, in that, one of the great things about a missing persons show is the range is, I think. larger than any other range of storytelling available in procedural TV. Some cases, people are taken and are desperate to be found; some cases, people are running away and are desperate not to be found. And that’s part of the mystery that our characters have to unpack each week. So some of it’s ripped from the headlines, and some of it is just what is just the coolest, most urgent, most desperate case we can think of.

MICHAEL THORN: One of the other things that John has done so successfully, we think, is in addition to that urgency, every single episode and the the cases are they’re deeply emotional because it involves a missing person. And I think, as Scott was saying in the beginning, one of the reasons it feels different than other procedurals is that emotional resonance, both in the cases and, of course, specifically in the family story between Scott and Dania’s family story. So it’s really compelling to have storytelling that hits both all of those buttons in an exciting way.

JOHN EISENDRATH: And I would just add that off of what Michael said, that it is true that a lot of the cases have are picked, in part, because of the way that they impact Scott and Dania’s characters as it relates to their own personal story. Again, episode 2, since you’ve watched it, as an example of a parent who’s facing the question of what would, in this case, she do if she came into a room with the person who’d killed her child. And that is a question that Scott’s character and Dania’s as well are both wrestling with. What would they do if they were ever put in a room with the person who took their child? And not only is that obviously an incredibly emotional story and question for the two of them who don’t agree on what they would do, but hopefully for the people who are watching the show too, they will ask themselves what would they do if they were ever in that situation.

QUESTION: Hi, everyone. Thanks so much for doing this. I will I have two questions, but I’ll start with Dania and Scott. Nikki and Jason, at least in the first episode, they talk a lot about kind of wanting to turn the page and move forward, but they’re really struggling with that gaping hole that their missing son has left in their lives. So how would you describe the state of the relationship at the start of the show after they’ve gone through kind of the six years of looking for Keith, and how does that dynamic kind of continue to evolve over the course of the season?

SCOTT CAAN: Do you want to go?

MICHAEL THORN: Good question.

DANIA RAMIREZ: I think that’s a great question, actually, because the dynamic absolutely changes and I think it evolves through the season. And where we were at at the beginning of you know, when you first meet us, I think we’re both having our son be missing for that having our son be missing for that long has connected us in ways that you can’t connect with anyone else. And I think the way that we we have a very authentic way of wanting to deal with the cases because of it; we have a very authentic way of how we relate to each other because of it. We also have a daughter that we coparent, and so we have to I think we found a very comfortable place in which we relate to one another throughout the entire season, and we grow and evolve our relationship because we also become partners, as you know from watching episodes 1 and 2.

So I think there’s also a lot of room for wit and humor when you really know someone for that long. And, you know, me knowing also Scott prior to doing the project and getting to know him even more doing it, as Nikki and Jason continues, we get to — to deal with the issues of being parents together, coparenting together, and then having to deal with the loss of their child, I think opens up a lot of connection moments for connection between both of us but also allows us to really feel like we’re there for one another. I love that part of the show as well, because we are really both we meet each other with love and understanding. And that’s something that I don’t think that you’ve ever I’ve ever seen portrayed in television as beautifully as we do on this show, where you have two people who have to deal with having to move forward and go through a divorce but still feel that there’s a lot of love there at home and at work.

SCOTT CAAN: Yeah. You know, also one of my favorite things about starting something new, I mean, when it works out, there’s nothing better than getting to know somebody and have that show up on screen. There’s stuff that we don’t plan, and there’s stuff that have nothing to do with the story that exists between us. And as we get you know, get to know each other more, that stuff, you it can’t help but show up on screen. And to me, that’s that’s the most fun, and we hit it off immediately, and our relationship — you know, the first two scenes we did, I was like, All right, we got this.

You know, and we have we have this bond and whatever it is, and I think that that’s when it comes to a show like this, I think that’s one of the most important things that two people you’re kind of watching what we do in the show, and you’re also kind of watching our relationship, you know, off camera. Because, like I said, you can’t you can’t hide from that stuff, you know? It’s I mean, it’s great.

DANIA RAMIREZ: We have a great relationship on and off camera, but I think we also have found different ways of dealing you know, nobody’s perfect, and I think the fact that these the two characters are flawed, but also us as people are flawed. There’s nothing better than to, like, have find a common ground where you look at the person that you’re with all the time and you’re like, “Okay. Well, today your day was to do this, and maybe today I was” “I made you laugh.” And to have that sort of, like, dual relationship on and off set and you know, when the cameras are on and when the cameras are off, really makes for an incredible experience and a journey to take the audience on, you know?

JOHN EISENDRATH: I would just add to that that I think a lot of TV is wish fulfillment. You know, you’re watching the characters, and you want to sort of imagine that you could live that type of life. And I had hoped that we could portray in Dania and Scott’s characters a couple who’d gone through the most agonizing thing that you could go through, losing your child. And while it cost them dearly and they weren’t able to sustain their marriage, they did still have love for each other. And then when we meet them, they’re Scott’s character is with one woman, and Dania’s character is getting engaged to another person, and yet so it’s the most complicated possible situation. But for them, I was hoping that they would be able to navigate that incredibly tumultuous space with love and friendship and humor, and they do an amazing job of making that feel real. And I think that is exactly what I’d hoped for. And I think people will watch them as an ex couple and as coworkers and as coparents and feel like they’re doing an amazing job navigating an incredibly difficult and dramatic set of circumstances.

QUESTION: And for John, if I can just add one last question, can you talk a little bit about the process of casting Dania and Scott to play the leads of those two coparents you were talking about and also kind of the inspiration behind creating the series with Jamie?

JOHN EISENDRATH: Well, let me take the second part first. Then I’ll come back. Jamie, I got a call one day from his producing partner, Datari Turner, and he said that he wanted to pitch me an idea for a show. And usually when someone does that, I brace for a polite way of saying, “Thank you, but it’s a terrible idea.”

And the first thing he said was, “How about something about Amber Alert and the people who go missing?”

And I was like, “Wow, that’s actually a great idea for a show.”

And he explained to me that Jamie had had an experience one afternoon where he thought his child had gone missing. And it was not the case, but he for about six or seven hours, he wasn’t sure what had happened. And once that had occurred had happened to him, he did some investigating about the people who find missing persons, and it fascinated him, and he always thought I don’t know how many years ago it was, but that it would be a good basis for a TV show. And that was basically what Datari told me.

And I did agree. I thought it would be a great idea. And then for me, I do think the cases and the stories are singular in a missing persons procedural. But for me, I did feel the need to have something more at its core, and when I imagined that it could be that Scott and Dania’s characters had themselves lost a child, that that to me was when I realized, Oh, there could be a mystery at the center of this procedural show that could both be bring people along who love the procedural pieces but have that emotional core. So that’s how the inception of the show began.

And then in casting, you know, obviously I was familiar with Scott, I had watched Hawaii 5 0, and I thought that when we when I imagined who Jason is, I had imagined someone who had to have the ability to be dramatic, to carry these incredibly intense stories, but have a little but be funny and be able to because I believe that people who work in this kind of environment have to be able to have dark humor, have to be able to deflect the pain and the intensity of the world they’re in. And when Scott’s name came up, I realized, Well, he meets all those requirements. And then we talked via Zoom, as is the case in the world today, and his discussion with me about what the I won’t take the fact that he just walked off screen, I’ll he just doesn’t want me to embarrass him.

(Laughter.)

That, you know, when I just sort of felt like he understood who the guy was, and he would he was excited about the exploration. And that, to me, is singular. You know, you really want someone who is ready to go on an adventure with you, and because that’s what series TV is.

And then with Dania whose work I was less familiar with, but I immediately looked at so much of what she had done and felt like, okay, Nikki is the heart and soul of the show, she is the one who is centered around empathy and emotional connection to people who are grieving, because in this show, the people who come into that space have lost a loved one, and they need a hug as much as they need a forensic analysis of where, you know, their loved one has gone. And the minute we talked, I realized and watched, but really more when we talked, I realized that Dania was someone who, as a person, was comfortable with that. And I really think you have to be comfortable as and be an empathetic person to portray the level of empathy and concern that she has to that Nikki has to on the show. And so I immediately knew that she, too, was someone who could personify the essential trait of who Nikki is as the heart and soul of the show.

DANIA RAMIREZ: I’m so grateful to you, John. I just have to take a moment and just say thank you for trusting me with the material, because I know, you know, every time you do a new show and it’s your baby and you’re writing it and, you know, you’re creating this world, you want to you know, it’s a gamble that you’re taking on someone sort of being like, okay, you’re going to be able to portray this.

And after our first meeting, our conversation the conversation that we had and we talked about not only, you know, the cases, what the show was really about, but really it was when we had you know, we took put all that to the side and really had an honest conversation about who we were as people and the messages that we wanted to kind of put out there and that we really ended up connecting with the kind of you know, how to humanize these that character, how to humanize Nikki. So this was a job that she was doing, and she was connected because it had happened to her, and it gave me the ability to feel empathy and compassion for these people that were coming in with these cases, but also allowed me to bring a lot of myself into it and to really feel for these people but also find the light in some of the situations. And I’m just really grateful that you gave me the opportunity.

JOHN EISENDRATH: I just knew that I just knew that when you ended your text with “Namaste,” I was like, Okay, well, that’s all right.

DANIA RAMIREZ: Namaste.

MICHAEL THORN: And I’ll add that we got really lucky where you know, you read these scripts, and you imagine that, you know, Jason and Nikki are they have this history, and you hope you just hope for in any show that your lead actors are going to have the kind of chemistry it’s that intangible that Dania and Scott had. So we’re so lucky to have them both, because individually they’re terrific, but when you put them together in their character dynamics, it absolutely you those who have seen the first two episodes, you see they shine together.

DANIA RAMIREZ: You bring you do, you bring the best out of me, for sure.

SCOTT CAAN: Oh, thank you. I think the same about you. But I yeah, just going off of what Michael just said, I think that that’s the key to any of these shows. And it’s like it’s such a coin toss. You cannot you can’t predict how that’s going to happen. But like I said, on day 1, I just I was like, alright. We got something to build on.

DANIA RAMIREZ: You know what’s funny is that we couldn’t be more different but also, like, more the same. Like, we’re both really passionate people and really can find humor in the darkest of situations but could not be more opposite at the same time.

SCOTT CAAN: Don’t touch me.

(Laughter.)

DANIA RAMIREZ: He actually really likes to be touched. That’s the thing about him. He says he doesn’t.

JOHN EISENDRATH: This isn’t analysis, it’s just a

(Laughter.)

QUESTION: Thank you so much for doing this. First question is for Scott.

Scott, you know, you’ve done roles, “Oceans 11,” “Gone in 60 Seconds,” you know, intense roles. What drew you to this role, and is this role as intense as other shows that you’ve done?

And the next question is, you know, knowing that you have a daughter, was it and the show being a missing persons, you know, did you give her that kind of extra hug after shooting the show?

SCOTT CAAN: Yeah. I’ll answer backwards. You know, it’s I with my home life and being away, I like to, as much as I possibly can, bring whatever’s going on in my life to what I’m doing. And so just being away from my daughter for the last four months, obviously, now my second daughter, they get much bigger hugs than they’ve ever gotten. So I don’t know if it’s because of this show or because I’m away, but I think a combination of both has made me really appreciate what I have, and you know, and it also makes me appreciate the fact that I have a job. You know, it’s like a you know, a question people say, like, “Why are you doing another procedural show?”

It’s like, man, I’m genuinely I’m not just like “aw shucksing” it up, but, like, I to say, like, no to somebody who wants to hire me to do something in this day and age is, like, insane to me. Like, I’m so lucky to have a job, so lucky to be able to come to work every day.

And going back to your original question, you know, I think what we do is a lot more difficult than showing up for a movie for three, four months and, you know, just doing one role. I think what turns me on about this I answered it a little bit in the beginning, but, you know, dealing with the idea of having your son go missing and then having him come back and you’re not sure if it’s actually your son, playing with those ideas week to week, month to month, episode to episode, like I said, it’s nothing it’s unprecedented. I don’t think you can find somebody and interview somebody who had that experience. So for me, this is, without question, the most complicated thing I’ve ever done. So to label it as a procedural or label it as this kind of show or that kind of show makes no sense to me. I’m learning more about myself. I’m learning a ton about acting. I’m learning there’s just so much going on, and I think that it is definitely more intense than anything I’ve ever done in a really beautiful good way.

And I don’t mean to sound too goofy or corny, but it’s if you like if you like being creative, if you like digging in as an actor, like, there’s there isn’t much out there that is more complicated problem solving as an actor than this show has been for me, and I think I knew that right away. And it’s challenging. It’s really challenging. And, you know, I think that the second we aren’t challenged anymore at what we do, we should just quit, you know? I think that

DANIA RAMIREZ: Which you’ll never do.

SCOTT CAAN: Well, but, again, you know, it’s like

DANIA RAMIREZ: You can’t. I wouldn’t let you.

SCOTT CAAN: No, I know. But I’m saying my point is that this is this isn’t something that I can just show up and, you know, not give a lot of thought to. And that’s what keeps me excited about it, and that’s I think why people will be excited to watch the show, because we’re literally trying to figure things out all the time, and it’s not it’s not like anything else out there, that I’ve seen anyway.

So to answer your question, yes, this is way more intense, way more complicated, and way more challenging, and that’s sort of why I’m really interested in it, you know? So…

DANIA RAMIREZ: Acting is very therapeutic as well. I think one of the things that I and you don’t know this, but the first meeting that I ever had with John and some of the other producers and I knew that you were doing the job, and I was like, you know, I’m excited just to dig in and even see how you know, how we change as people, because it is very therapeutic to go through these things. And you have you know, you just had a baby. Leaving having your family back in LA has played a big part of, like, you really being able to dive into those emotions and vulnerabilities within the role, and it’s been very great to feel like I am also like, I have my family here, but I don’t get to spend a lot of time with them and my kids. And so we’re able to really allow each other to be vulnerable in those moments and to share that with the masses and to feel like, okay, I’m going to unveil that part of me. And I think that’s what the world likes to connect to. To be able to transcend those emotions and to get people to connect with that is super, you know, inspiring, and, you know, this is a the show has just been a great opportunity to share those emotions with everyone.

QUESTION: Hi. This is for Scott and Dania. You’re basically the show is living out every parent’s worst nightmare in so many respects. So how emotional is it for each of you, and is it difficult to let it go after some of these highly emotional scenes?

SCOTT CAAN: Yeah, I think it is. I mean, you know, it’s one of those things where, you know, you it’s like our job definitely comes home with us, and I don’t realize how affected I am by it. But, yeah, I mean, every day, we’re dealing with really, really horrible stuff.

DANIA RAMIREZ: Yeah, it’s hard to leave it behind. And honestly, I think, you know, it’s human nature to and especially for actors, if you’re really into it, to just really live out those emotions. And that’s not something you can shut off right away. I mean, I think that’s why it’s great to be a part of a job in which it’s not just, you know, Scott on the job here, but it’s also our crew and the people that we’re working with every single day, the writers, the people that are here and our other cast mates, we become our own like a family outside of what we you know, what we film every day, and I think we have that support system to really get through that and be able to say, “Okay, that was that. Let’s put it to the side, and now let’s” you know, our lives will continue, and we have to figure out a way to pick ourselves back up. But, yeah, it’s very difficult.

And it’s interesting because, you know, the last show that we I mean, we were in “Entourage” together, and what a completely different vibe that was, because it’s like that’s fun, and we were completely different people back then. We didn’t have kids back then. We didn’t really know each other. We didn’t have any scenes together. So I could say maybe we played together. We, like, hung out. But we didn’t really you know, now, who we are who we were then and who we are now is a completely different ballgame, and being parents and dealing with a show that has to deal with, like, missing children is something that’s really close to the heart, and it’s hard to leave behind.

SCOTT CAAN: Yeah. So basically after we do five, six years of this show, I’m going to call Michael and say, “Michael, put me on a half hour comedy immediately, please.”

MICHAEL THORN: Done.

LES EISNER: And with that, we’ll wrap our session.

Alert key art

Co-created by John Eisendrath (the Executive Producer of The Blacklist) and superstar Jamie Foxx, Alert: Missing Persons Unit is a procedural drama set in the Philadelphia Police Department’s Missing Persons Unit (MPU). Each episode features a heart-pounding, life-or-death search for a missing person that runs alongside police officers JASON GRANT (Scott Caan, Hawaii Five-O) and NIKKI BATISTA’s (Dania Ramirez, Devious Maids) season-long quest to find out the truth about their long-lost son.

Six years ago, while working overseas, Jason received the call that every parent fears – he and Nikki’s son, KEITH (Graham Verchere, The Good Doctor), had gone missing. From that moment forward, the lives of Jason, Nikki and their daughter, SYDNEY (recurring guest star Fivel Stewart, Atypical), were turned upside down. The frantic search to find Keith began and the mystery about his disappearance continues to this day.

Throughout the search to find Keith, Jason and Nikki’s marriage deteriorated and they grew apart. Jason moved into private security, while Nikki was promoted within the Philly P.D. to Head of the MPU, where she has been able to do for others what she wasn’t able to do for herself, bring a loved one back home. At the MPU, she leads a team of highly skilled individuals including her current love interest MIKE (Ryan Broussard, Only Murders In The Building), whom Nikki met when he was assigned to oversee the search for Keith; KEMI (Adeola Role, The Blacklist), who is proficient in many languages, highly discerning of visual clues, and uses her know-how as a shaman to take a holistic approach to her job; and forensic anthropologist C (recurring guest star and newcomer Petey Gibson), who is a master at reconstructing the faces of those who have disappeared. Together, the team works to find the missing, abducted, or kidnapped, and help reunite them with their loved ones before it’s too late.

When Jason receives a possible proof-of-life photo that Keith is very much alive, he and Nikki will reunite personally and professionally to continue the fight for their son.

General Hospital Updates

GH logo

Update written by Dustin

At GH, Nina looked through Britt’s belongings as she packed up Britt’s office. Sonny arrived, and he asked how she and Liesl were doing. Nina said that she was fine, but that she hadn’t been able to locate Liesl since she arrived. Sonny then asked how Liesl seemed to be coping.  Nina then explained to Sonny that she had received a text message from Liesl asking her to meet Liesl in Britt’s office, but when Nina arrived she couldn’t find Liesl anywhere.  Sonny quickly asked Nina if Liesl was aware that Esme was in custody and being treated at General Hospital. Nina’s face went from concern to panic as she and Sonny rushed out of Britt’s office en route to locate Liesl.

In Esme’s room at GH, Esme asked what Liesl wanted. Liesl told her she was there to exact revenge on her for killing her daughter the previous night. Liesl produced a syringe and when Esme screamed, Liesl gagged her with a cloth. Esme and Liesl struggled and Liesl promised Esme if she continued putting up a fight she would make her death “exquisitely painful.”  Esme quickly realized she was in no condition to fight off an assault, so she pushed back her hospital table, revealing her pregnancy.  “You’re pregnant?” Liesl asked. Liesl briefly paused to think. But, she said that her pregnancy would not save Esme. She told Esme that her death would be far more merciful than Britt’s was.  She injected Esme with the contents of the syringe.  Seconds later, Nina entered the hospital room and asked Liesl what she had done.

Liesl told Nina that she had injected Esme with a sedative, she then began smothering Esme with a pillow. This prompted an immediate response from Nina. Nina and Liesl fought over the pillow. Nina, trying very hard to keep the noise controlled because of the guard outside the door, pleaded with Liesl to stop.  Nina said that this was not what Britt would have wanted.  Nina then asked if Liesl would kill a mother and her child for revenge.  Liesl said that she had no intention of killing the baby and made an evil grin. Nina then changed tactics and asked if Liesl wanted to spend the rest of her life in prison. Liesl said that she didn’t care. “Well, I care,” Nina pleaded. She added that James, Maxie, Scott, they would all be devastated if Liesl threw her entire life away in a simple act of rage.  Nina continued to beg Liesl to take a moment and reassess.  Nina said that Liesl was not thinking clearly.  Liesl seemed to calm a bit, although she showed no remorse for what she had done.  Nina was able to convince her to leave the room quickly.  The two stepped out of the room while the guard was distracted and onto an elevator, and quickly descended from the 10th floor.

Sonny appeared at the 10th floor nurses’ station, and asked Elizabeth if she had seen Liesl. Elizabeth said that she hadn’t seen Liesl since the previous night at the Haunted Star

Nikolas then approached Sonny and wanted to know if Sonny had spoken to Spencer. Sonny asked Nikolas to try speaking to his son himself.  Nikolas told Sonny that he was only asking because Spencer was not taking his calls and that he didn’t want Spencer to hear of Britt’s death from a stranger or through the media. Nikolas then admitted to Sonny that Esme was pregnant, and that he was the baby’s father. Sonny lunged at Nikolas and began punching him.  However, the altercation was quickly contained by a guard and Nikolas declined to file charges.

Afterwards, Sonny left the hospital so that he could find Spencer and deliver the news of Britt’s death personally.

Elizabeth asked what had happened to Nikolas, who revealed that Sonny had punched him. Nikolas added that he had admitted to Sonny that he had sex with Esme and that she was carrying his baby. “Do you have a death wish?” Elizabeth asked.

Elizabeth scolded Nikolas for trying to stand near Esme’s door. Elizabeth said that Esme had no reason to fake amnesia, that she held all the leverage and could easily bury the two of them. Elizabeth told Nikolas that Esme had not recognized her, but she feared seeing Nikolas could trigger the return of her memory.  Elizabeth grew increasingly angry, and then replied with something she knew would get Nikolas’ attention.  If you go to prison, Victor will love nothing more than to mold another Cassadine into his image (speaking of Spencer). “That cannot happen,” Nikolas said defiantly. Elizabeth then said that Nikolas needed to pull it together and insisted that he not make any more asinine attempts to enter Esme’s room.  Elizabeth insisted that they “hold tight” and buy themselves more time.

Later, Elizabeth entered Esme’s room. Esme grabbed her arm, and begged Elizabeth not to hurt her. Esme asked where that horrible woman was and what she intended to do to her.  Elizabeth insisted that Esme was safe in the hospital and that it sounded as if she was recalling events from a bad dream.

In the kitchen of Carly’s mansion, Josslyn was shaken when she entered the room and saw Carly with Dex. Dex told Josslyn that Britt had been attacked by the hook after her party.  Dex was clearly trying to maintain their secrecy in front of Carly. He informed Josslyn that Britt had intervened in an attack that was already in progress and that Britt was not the intended target.  Dex told her that the person who was targeted got away. Josslyn said that sounded terrible and said that it was fortunate that no one was hurt.  Dex and Carly exchanged a look of sadness.  Josslyn saw it, and asked if Britt was OK. Carly crossed the room to hold Josslyn’s hands. Carly said, “No she’s not okay.” Carly told Josslyn that Britt had died as a result of the attack.  She explained that the hook had scratched Britt and that the hook had been laced with poison.  Josslyn burst into tears and said that she was the reason Britt had died. Carly was clearly shaken by her daughter’s words. Josslyn then told Carly the whole truth, that she was the intended target and that Britt had simply gotten in the way trying to defend her.

Carly was in shock. She asked Josslyn why she hadn’t remained on the docks with Britt until the police came. Carly also wanted to know why Britt would tell the police that she didn’t know the identity of the person who got away. Dex said they had convinced Britt to let them leave because he had been carrying an unregistered gun that Sonny had given him. At that point Josslyn told Dex that she needed to speak to her mother alone. Dex resisted, but Josslyn walked him out. Dex said that he felt as though he should stay and face Carly with her. Josslyn said that wouldn’t be necessary.  Josslyn told Dex that her only regret about the previous night was that they had left Britt alone.

Back in the kitchen, Josslyn told Carly the entire story.  She had been on the way to Britt’s party and was attacked on the docks.  She said that she couldn’t run because she was in heels and that Britt had saved her. She told Carly that Dex had also arrived on the docks as Britt struggled with the killer and Dex had fired a single shot. She said that was the main reason they had left.  Carly wanted to know if Dex had actually hit the killer.  Josslyn said that there was no way to be sure.  Josslyn swore to Carly that Britt was fine when they left her and that no one, not even Britt, was aware that she had been scratched with the hook. Carly knew that Josslyn would never have left Britt if she had known.  Carly was overcome with emotion that the killer had come that close to Josslyn and she kept repeating, “Thank God you’re alive.”

Josslyn also told Carly that she had gone from Dex’s apartment straight to Kelly’s, to speak to Cameron. She told Carly that she had broken up with Cameron. She began to cry again when she told Carly that Cameron was “so hurt.” This clearly affected Carly as she grabbed for Josslyn’s hand.  Josslyn said that after the attack, it became clear to her that she could not put off the conversation with Cameron any longer.  Josslyn felt she had to tell Cameron the truth—they had grown apart and that she did not want to continue in the relationship.  Josslyn said that Cameron absolutely deserved that from her. Carly reached for Josslyn, and they hugged.

Arriving back at Nina’s penthouse, an exhausted Liesl said that she just wanted to get some rest.  Nina said that was a good idea and told Liesl to sleep in her room and she would be there in the living area if Liesl needed anything.  Nina discovered a trophy and a photograph of Britt and Brad in the box of Britt’s stuff. Underneath the photo and the trophy, was a close-up of a document from Dr. Terry Randolph detailing the chemotherapy treatment being received by Willow Tait. Nina grabbed the trophy and held it to her chest, but she did not notice the document.

At Kelly’s Diner, Spencer ordered coffee and then remarked that Cameron looked like he felt.  Cameron simply said that he had not gotten any sleep and that he was not scheduled to work that day but someone had called in sick.

Spencer told Cameron that Esme had been found and that she was pregnant. Spencer added that Nikolas had slept with Esme months earlier, and he also stated that Esme claimed to have near total memory loss. Cameron asked if Nikolas knew that Esme was pregnant before she went into hiding.  Spencer said that he wasn’t sure but that he definitely got the feeling that Nikolas knew before the previous night’s events.

Cameron asked if Spencer thought Esme was faking her memory loss. Spencer said he wouldn’t put it past her, but he added that he, Cameron, Trina, and Josslyn should get together to figure out what to do next. Cameron said that Spencer would have to meet with Trina and Josslyn separately. Spencer demanded to know what Cameron was not telling him. “Joss and I broke up,” Cameron said. Spencer immediately asked if their breakup had been caused by Dex.

Cameron asked what Spencer wasn’t telling him. He wanted to know why Spencer would immediately think that the breakup with Josslyn anything to do with Dex. Spencer asked Cameron to excuse him, then said that after the night he had just had, he didn’t have a lot of faith in others. As Spencer was speaking, Sonny entered Kelly’s. Spencer greeted him and Sonny said that he had been looking for Spencer. Sonny pulled up a chair, Cameron started to get up, but Sonny asked him to say.  Sonny then told Cameron and Spencer that Britt had been attacked by the hook killer and had died from her injuries.

Spencer was heartbroken, his face frozen, he kept insisting that it must be a mistake. Sonny said that it was no mistake. Spencer stood up, and told Sonny and Cameron he just needed a minute to himself. Spencer started up the stairs at Kelly’s but sat down before ascending them.  He then began to cry.

Spencer returned, and Dex entered the diner. Dex approached Sonny, who told Dex to give him a minute. Cameron gave Dex a stringent stare and then he stood up and returned to work.

Spencer poured out his heart to Sonny. He asked if Britt had been alone and Sonny quickly replied that she was with her mother when she passed. Spencer was relieved that Britt had not been alone. Spencer then told Sonny that he couldn’t bear the thought of returning to Wyndemere to face Nikolas and Victor. Sonny said there was an “easy fix,” and he invited Spencer to come home with him. Spencer left the diner with Sonny and Dex.  As they left, Dex and Cameron made eye contact and held the awkward stare for several seconds.

In the stables on the Quartermaine estate, Willow told Michael that she believed her strength was returning following her first round of chemo, and she vowed to continue to fight the leukemia.

Drew entered the stables and remarked that Willow and Michael seemed to be doing better. Willow asked how the search for her parents had progressed.

Drew asked if Willow had ever heard of a man named Josiah, at the commune in Colorado. Willow replied “Yes!.”  She then revealed that Harmony had taken her to visit someone named Josiah after they had left the commune. Willow said she couldn’t remember much about the actual visit, but did recall it being her first time on an airplane. She remembered that Harmony had given her chewing gum to make her ears pop to relieve the air pressure.

Willow asked Drew if he thought that Josiah would be able to identify her birth parents.  Drew said that he couldn’t be sure, but it was definitely a step in the right direction. Drew wanted to make sure that Michael and Willow were not losing hope that they would be able to locate her birth parents. Willow vowed that she was determined to stay alive to see Wiley and her unborn daughter grow up together.

After making that comment, Willow received a call from Dr. Terry Randolph, who said that Willow had been matched with a bone marrow donor. Willow told Michael and Drew the news and then exclaimed, “I’m going to live!”  Drew smiled, and Michael and Willow embraced.

Devon: I got you some coffee.

Abby: Thank you.

Devon: You’re very welcome. I had the, uh, nanny take Dominic down to the kiddie gym so he can get his steps in for the day.

Abby: Oh, you should have woken me up. I love watching him play there. He loves that big green ball.

Devon: Yeah, he does.

********************†**************

Jack: Yes, she has a past. We all do. But since she’s gotten back to Genoa City, she has done nothing to you.

Ashley: That’s true, but only because she hasn’t been given the opportunity. If she found out she had leverage over me, she would not hesitate to use it.

Jack: That is absolutely absurd.

Ashley: Okay. Look, I am trying here, alright? I really am. And I’ve decided that i understand that you would want your son to reconnect with his mother.

Jack: Yes.

Ashley: Okay. I get that. But you have let Diane back into your life, Jack. And from what I saw right here last night, she’s in far too deep.

Jack: I don’t know what you think you saw, but it’s really none of your business. Whether you like it or not, Diane is part of this family.

Ashley: No, I don’t like it! And as far as I’m concerned, she’s not part of this family.

Jack: She is Kyle’s mother. She is Harrison’s grandmother.

Ashley: I know. I just can’t get the image out of my mind of your son as a little boy crying himself to sleep because he thought his mother was dead.

Jack: Diane has changed. Kyle has forgiven her. As far as I’m concerned, that makes her welcome in our home.

Ashley: I can’t forgive her. I can’t forgive her. Does that make me a bad person? I don’t think so. I don’t. Given the pain she’s caused this family, I think that viper deserves permanent exile from this house.

Jack: Wow. Isn’t it ironic that you, of all people, are opposed to a viper coming into this house?

Billy: It’s chilly.

Lily: Yeah. Yeah. Looks like it might snow.

Billy: Do you want to get to something to eat?

Lily: Um… I’m not really hungry.

Billy: [ Sighs ] Maybe we’ll just start with a drink, huh? What do you think?

Lily: That was really hard.

Billy: Yeah. Yeah, I did not expect our first therapy session to be that bad.

Lily: I think maybe going out tonight was a mistake.

Billy: It’s just dinner.

Lily: Yeah, well, we can’t just sit here and pretend like we didn’t have our first therapy session and it was brutal.

[ Knock on door ]

Nick: Sally? It’s me. You okay?

Sally: Yeah. Yeah, I’ll be right there.

[ Sighs ]

Nick: There you are. Glad you answered. Thought maybe you were ghosting me. I just couldn’t figure out why. That harri

Summer: I’m happy to report that harrison has settled in with a movie. Even though he has seen it a million times, it still somehow captivates him.

Kyle: Glad he’s content, because I’m not, after that bomb dropped on me at the office.

Summer: Look, I know that my timing wasn’t great. I totally forgot that you had that big meeting scheduled. I didn’t realize that you’d have to go before we could finish our conversation.

Kyle: Well, meeting’s over now, so we can pick back up right where we left off. Let’s talk about this plan of yours. Do you really want to take our son out of the country?

Sharon: Hey, jack. Jack, hello?

Jack: Oh, I’m sorry. I’m just distracted. I’m sorry.

Sharon: Oh, well, I hope everything’s okay. Do you need anything?

Jack: No. You know what? It’s nothing worth getting into. I just… I’m worried about a friend.

Sharon: Okay, well, you looked a little upset, and, by the look on your face, I can tell it’s about somebody very close to you.

Chance: Hey.

Sharon: Oh, hey.

Chance: What’s going on?

Sharon: Well, you caught me. I was hoping if I stared at my phone long enough, I could will it to ring.

Chance: Well, I gather that hasn’t worked yet.

Sharon: Not yet. Mariah and tessa are meeting with the birth mother of a baby they’re hoping to adopt, and I’m just dying to know how it’s going.

Chance: Wow, that’s huge that they’re this far in the process.

Sharon: Yeah, it’s really exciting. But I’m trying to stay cautious and not get my hopes up too much. I realize that a lot of different things could happen that would change the outcome, but if it’s meant to be, is meant to be, right?

Chance: I’ve been telling myself that a lot lately.

Sharon: How about you? How are you doing?

Chance: Oh, you know how it is. Crime doesn’t sleep. Wrap up a case, and another one rears its ugly head.

Sharon: Well, I wasn’t talking about your work. I was talking about you.

Summer: You said that like you think that I plan on permanently leaving the country, moving back to milan with harrison. No, I’m just talking about a short trip to the textile show in paris.

Kyle: No, it’s pretty obvious this is more than just a business jaunt. Otherwise, you wouldn’t be planning on taking harrison.

Summer: Yeah, with everything going on, I’d like for our son to be far away from any potential danger.

Kyle: Hey, hey, I know you don’t love the way my mother’s chaos with stark has taken over our lives, but I hope you realize everything we’re doing right now is necessary given the circumstances.

Summer: No, kyle, I really don’T. It seems like, every day, things are just spinning further and further out of control, and we’re getting dug in deeper. A new plot, a new plan. What’s next?

Jeremy: I am certainly impressed that you chose this spot to meet. It reminds me of that club in ibiza.

Diane: I remember it well. I think I had more than the usual amount of cash hidden in my luggage for that trip.

Jeremy: I was fond of that very profitable excursion. I mean, the dance music, the 24-hour party scene.

Diane: It was wild.

Jeremy: But if I were to accept your proposition, reuniting and using our particular skill set, we couldn’t go back to our old method of doing business together, and certainly not through our favorite party spots. And the feds would be on us the minute we stepped on a private plane headed out of the country.

Diane: Well, you’re probably right, but between the two of us, we’re pretty clever. I’m sure we could put our heads together and come up with the perfect plan.

Jeremy: We do make a terrific team. Maybe we could travel separately. Then you can go alone and make the transactions. Since you don’t have any parole officers tracking you.

Diane: Or maybe we don’t have to leave the country at all. That would certainly eliminate some of the risks for you. I mean, there are plenty of opportunities right here in genoa city.

Jeremy: Mm. I like the way you’re thinking.

Diane: Good. So if we’re going to stay here, we need to decide on a new target. I have a few ideas of my own.

Jeremy: As do I. Take this spot. This would be the perfect money-laundering venue. And then we wouldn’t raise suspicions of us leaving the country. I could definitely see myself having a piece of this place. Huh.

I’m hoping the stomach bug didn’t come back to bite you. Are you still feeling better?

Sally: Yeah. Yep, I’m fine.

Nick: You sure? A healthier heartcould

Billy: You know, I got to be honest. I did not expect our first therapy session to go the way that it — that it did.

Lily: Well, how did you think it was going to go?

Billy: I — I don’t know. I guess it was — I just thought it would be a little bit more conversational, you know, like, “how long have you been together?” “Where did you meet?” “Do you have friends in common?” But the guy was just — he was hard and… I mean, he didn’t even chuckle when I tried to lighten the mood with a joke.

Lily: I know. He didn’t even give a polite smile.

[ Sniffles ]

Billy: You know, maybe — maybe we need a new therapist. We can try somebody different.

Lily: Well, did you disagree with anything that he said?

Billy: No. Unfortunately, he was on point.

Lily: Right, so would you want someone to sugarcoat things and lie to us?

Billy: [ Sighs ] No, I think brutally honest is the way to go.

[ Sighs ] I think I’m just trying to process this.

Lily: Yeah. Me, too. I think, though, that a lot of what we talked about, we kind of already knew. You know, we’ve been going in opposite directions for a while now.

Billy: Yeah, some of the questions that he asked and the way that we answered them…

Lily: I know. It’s like we have so little common ground that we were destined to end up like this.

Chance: There are far more interesting things to talk about than me. Trust me.

Sharon: Look, I know you’ve been going through a rough time. I genuinely want to know how you’re doing through all of it.

Chance: Yeah, alright. Um… well, honestly, life’s just kind of weird right now. You know, all of a sudden, I feel like I have to establish new habits. You know, like, even little things that used to get the day started are different. I mean, the — the anticipation of seeing dom in the morning, that used to give me an bed.

Sharon: I understand exactly how you feel. I felt the same way when rey died and my daughter moved out. You know, with faith away at college, I realized how long it’s been since I’ve had dinner alone. Now it’s almost every night.

Chance: That’s exactly what I’m talking about. I mean, it’s little things like that that just hits home a little harder, right? I mean, suddenly I’ll look up and it’s late, and I haven’t eaten because dinner’s just about food now. Used to be about family time, you know, talking over our days, going over dom’s latest achievements, getting him fed before bedtime.

Sharon: Yeah, the joys of family, right? Hey, I have an idea.

Summer: Let’s face it, there’s no guarantee that this is going to get rid of stark. Bribes and threats were not enough to send him packing. Your mom’s fake disappearance didn’t fool him into walking away. So what makes you so sure that this is going to be the end?

Kyle: Because she knows him very well. She knows how to handle him.

Summer: And what happens when stark figures out that diane is setting him up to take the fall? What happens when he feels trapped or provoked? Kyle, this is serious.

Kyle: She is risking her own safety for all of us.

Summer: It’s not just her own safety she’s risking.

Kyle: Just believe me, summer. I would never, ever let danger come anywhere close to you or harrison. I hope you know me better than that.

Jack: [ Sighs ]

Diane: You need to look elsewhere for a base of operations. This club would not be a good fit.

Jeremy: [ Scoffs ] Whatever happened to living life on the edge? Huh? Thought you missed it. Don’t tell me you’re getting cold feet before I even agree to join forces with you.

Diane: No, no, I’m just — I’m just looking out for you. This club is owned by noah newman, as in victor newman’s grandson. And the space is leased from the owners of the grand phoenix, chancellor-winters, which is owned by two more power families in this town. Just trust me. Trust me, you don’t want to cross them.

Jeremy: Sounds like you’re making excuses.

Diane: [ Sighs ] No, but as your former and hopefully soon-to-be accomplice, you need to listen to me. I know this town and the people in it better than most. And I remember that you like stirring up all kinds of trouble, but this is one headache you don’t need.

Jeremy: Okay. I’ll take your lead on this one.

Diane: I will say, I am encouraged by your current train of thought. You know, it sounds like you’re coming up with a new way to do your business, making plans, and hopefully accepting my offer. It would be nice to officially be on the same side with you.

Jeremy: Not so fast. You still have to pass my loyalty test. Only daisy cottage cheese will do

Sally: Yeah, my stomach issues must’ve just been something that I ate ’cause i am back in full fighting mode now, and if I seem a little off at all, it must just be this proposal that I’m struggling with.

Nick: Okay, well, I won’t be pushy and try to help again, but may I offer an alternate suggestion?

Sally: Like what?

Nick: When I’m at work and I hit a roadblock, I think the best thing I can do is actually take a break, go outside, clear my head. Then when I get right back to it, all the ideas just start flowing, and it may work for you. So what do you say we go get some dinner?

Sally: Well, I am starving, but, I don’t know, I feel like if I keep working, I can figure out this pitch.

Nick: Okay. How about some takeout, then?

Sally: I would like that very much.

Nick: I’ll be back.

[ Door opens ]

[ Door closes ]

Sally: [ Sighs ]

[ Sighs ]

[ Sighs ]

[ Sighs ]

Kyle: Just tell me what I can do to help you feel more comfortable.

Summer: I don’t think that there’s anything that will help except for leaving. It just feels like it’s one conflict after another, and there’s no end in sight. I just — I need some relief. For me and for harrison.

Kyle: We have all taken pains to make sure harrison has no idea what’s going on.

Summer: I know that nobody’s told him about the impending danger, but he’s smart. He can tell that there’s been a change in our attitudes, that we’re on guard all the time.

Kyle: And a sudden trip to france won’t seem odd to him?

Summer: Look, I will do everything to put him at ease. I’m going to make this seem like a fun, new adventure. He’s just in preschool. He can miss a few days. It’s not a big deal. And you know what? I’ll bring the nanny along. It’ll help to make things seem more normal. I promise you, I will stay on top of business, and maybe I’ll even get more done without being constantly distracted by all of this craziness.

[ Sighs ]

Kyle: All good points. I hear you. I really do. And, to be honest, I’m scared, too.

Summer: Then come with us. Me, you, and harrison. Let’s go to paris, the three of us.

Kyle: I can’t leave my mom. Not now. And my fear is different than yours. It’s not about any potential danger to you or harrison. What scares me the most is this situation is starting to come between us, and that’s not something I can bear.

Diane: Why would I turn on you if I’m willing to launder money for you?

Jeremy: Well, the point is, I won’t be played for a sucker, especially from you. I just don’t feel I can trust you…yet.

Diane: Well, I don’t see why not.

Jeremy: Well, you disappeared from me once. Who says you won’t do it again?

Diane: I told you, I ran on impulse, and then I thought about it, and I came back, totally knowing that you would be waiting for me.

Jeremy: I don’t even know where you’re staying now. Are you settled comfortably at the abbott estate?

Diane: No, no, no. Jack has had it with me. I was renting an apartment, but now I’m back at our hotel.

Jeremy: Hm, we’re neighbors.

Diane: Yeah.

Jeremy: Perhaps it’d be more cost-effective if we shared a suite.

Diane: [ Chuckles ] Jeremy, we are going to make so much money with our new partnership that you will rebuild your fortune and then some.

Jeremy: Hm. I don’t remember you being quite so confident during our previous alliance.

Diane: Well, that’s because I was constantly living in fear that my true identity would be exposed.

Jeremy: Now you have nothing to hide except for the criminal enterprise you’re preparing to launch.

Diane: Precisely. And as for this test, I really don’t see why I need to at this point. Just so you know, jack told kyle all about the fight that we had in front of you.

Jeremy: You can’t be surprised by that. I mean, you had to know that he was going to make your son fully aware of your latest betrayal.

Diane: Well, now I’ve officially put my relationship with my family on the line for you. They are furious at me for getting back with you.

Jeremy: Yeah, well, I don’t doubt that you’ll be able to win them over again.

Diane: Well, that’s easy for you to say.

Jeremy: Look, I have to look out for myself, given I’m the one with the criminal record that just got out of prison. So I would be the one that would be risking the most if I got back in the game. So any partnership I make with you would definitely require an act of loyalty on your part.

Diane: Alright. I’m up for the challenge. What exactly do you have in mind?

Jeremy: Something outrageous and dangerous, something that would prove that you would go to the limit for me…and then some. (Dog barking) we love our pets.

Diane: I see. You want me to compromise myself, prove that I have some skin in the game.

Jeremy: It’s only fair, no? I’m only looking for a goodwill offering, something that would land you in the same unpleasant place I just came from.

Diane: Ideally not, though.

Jeremy: Of course not. You’d be no use to me locked up.

Diane: Nor you to me.

Jeremy: I know you. I know you can get away with anything. I mean, you got away with your own murder. That conniving survivor is still in you, deep in your soul.

Diane: [ Chuckles ] You know me so well.

Jeremy: You said you wanted to live life on the edge. Well, this is your chance to prove it. And once you do, we’ll see how committed you are. Then we can get back to our activities.

Diane: What do I have to do?

Jeremy: Surprise me.

Billy: Thank you very much.

[ Clears throat ] You know, let’s not sink too far into despair, okay, over the worst-case scenario.

Lily: No, I know, you’re right. I mean, it was only our first session.

Billy: Yeah, it was our first session. Let’s just try and salvage the night, spend some time together, enjoy ourselves, and maybe just share one of these specials.

Lily: Uh, I mean, I’m not hungry, but you can go ahead.

Billy: Maybe we’ll just start with a drink.

Chance: This was a great idea, sharon. The two of us, eating together.

Sharon: Well, it’s not home cooking, but it’ll do.

Chance: Oh, it’s going to do more than that. Trust me.

Sharon: [ Chuckles ] I hope you’re right. I have never tried ethiopian food before.

Chance: Oh, well, I am so pumped you let me pick the restaurant. I’m telling you, it’s music for your taste buds. The spices are unforgettable. Besides, just like you said, dinner is about more than just food, right? Not only am I out of the house, but I have some very lovely company to share it with.

Sharon: Aww, I feel the same way. And thanks for encouraging me to try something new. Hopefully, this will be a fun, little adventure.

Chance: Well, I promise you, I will not steer you wrong.

Summer: The last thing I want is for anything to come between us. I have been trying so hard to prevent that.

Kyle: I get it. Things are tense here and at the office, not to mention the added stress with the holidays, but it’s not your fault. You’re being pulled in way too many directions, and one of the strongest pulls is your mother.

Summer: Wait a minute.

Kyle: No, I know that you’re so upset, partly because phyllis is so upset.

Summer: Don’t you dare make this about her. This is about diane’s never-ending chaos.

Jack: Thank god you’re here. I was worried sick about you. I was on my way to the club, despite your telling me not to.

Diane: Well, I appreciate your concern, but I’m glad you didn’t show up. It wouldn’t have helped. It might’ve made jeremy suspicious. Turns out, he still doesn’t completely trust me.

Jack: I don’t like the sound of that. You feel like you’re in any more danger?

Diane: No, no, things actually went okay. His greed and arrogance are overshadowing his doubts, just as I thought, and he is falling right into my trap. But before we spring it on him, we need to do one more thing.

Jack: Oh, what’s that?

Diane: We need to find a crime for me to commit.

Who’s on it with jardiance?

Nick: Hope you’re hungry. Got one of everything, including the requisite extra guacamole. What’s that look?

Sally: I just can’t help but marvel in how amazing you are. I mean, you bring me soup and ginger ale when I’m sick and nachos and guacamole when I am hungry.

Nick: You know, they have apps that will do this for you, right?

Sally: Don’t be so modest. You are the perfect man. You’re reassuring and thoughtful and sexy. And no app on earth can do this.

Sharon: The good news is, i made it through all the spices, and I actually really enjoyed my first foray into ethiopian food.

Chance: See? I told you I wouldn’t steer you wrong.

Sharon: Oh, thanks for the tip, though, on that one dish. The heat level in that, it could’ve blown my head off.

Chance: [ Chuckles ]

Sharon: And, um, thanks for taking care of me, too. I guess I owe you one now.

Chance: Oh, that’s not necessary. It’s my treat.

Sharon: Well, I’ve got to pay you back. How about, uh, next week? We could start our own private supper club.

Chance: [ Chuckles ] You don’t have to do that for me. I can, uh — I can handle solo dinners. Trust me, had to do it all the time when I was working undercover. Just got to get used to it again. I’ll be okay.

Sharon: Yeah, I don’t doubt that, but, you know, you’re a friend, and I enjoy talking with you. You know, maybe we can even venture into another new cuisine. How do you feel about peruvian or turkish?

Chance: [ Sighs ]

Sharon: Okay, I — I won’t press the issue. I’ll just leave it up to you.

Chance: Okay. Next week it is.

Kyle: I don’t want to be insensitive, but I have to remind you, phyllis is the one who invited chaos to town.

Summer: I’m really not sure how my mother became solely responsible for diane’s criminal ex-boyfriend. Don’t you think he would’ve eventually tracked her down all on his own?

Kyle: Seriously, summer, are you defending your mother’s actions right now?

Summer: You know what? We need to stop. We just — we can’t keep going over the same ground when nothing changes.

Kyle: Okay. You’re right. This is exactly what I didn’t want to happen.

Summer: Okay, well, then, will you at least just think about harrison and I going to paris? I think it would be good for both of us. Look, if you’re dead set against it, I’ll drop it. Okay? But if not, then, I want to start packing.

Kyle: I love you so much. I just — I hate all of this.

Summer: I hate it, too.

Jack: Stark wants you to commit a crime. Why?

Diane: As a loyalty test. So that he knows that I’m willing to risk jail time for him.

Jack: Oh, I am not crazy about the sound of this.

Diane: Well, neither am I, but I’ve been thinking about it, and I think I can pull this off without risking harm to anyone.

Jack: You are playing with fire, diane.

Diane: All I have to do is get past this hurdle, and then jeremy will be putty in my hands. He will commit a crime, one that we orchestrate, one that will send him right back to prison. Jack, we are so close to having this bastard out of our lives.

Jack: So exactly what crime are you considering?

Diane: Well, I’ve ruled out any kind of violence, obviously.

Jack: Well, thank god for that.

Diane: Yeah, so I think the way to impress and flatter jeremy is if I steal something of considerable value.

Jack: Well, if that’s all it takes, we can open the safe at the house and give him a couple of those things.

Diane: No, no, no. That won’t work.

Jack: Well, couldn’t be easier.

Diane: Of course. That’s why. It’d be too easy, too obvious. Jeremy would see right through it. And if he asks any questions about why I took something from my family and demands to know the details, he’ll suspect a setup, and he will figure out that we’re all in cahoots.

Jack: Yeah, yeah, so who do you intend to rob?

Diane: Well, my victim has to be someone who would never, ever, under any circumstance, help me out. Steal from phyllis? Don’t tempt me. If your moderate to severe crohn’s disease

Lily: Um…

[ Clears throat, sniffles ] I just — I think I need some air.

Billy: I’ll get the bill, then we can walk out.

Lily: Um, I just… I need some time. Is that okay?

Billy: Yeah. Of course. Lily. We’re going to be alright. Okay? We will work on this, continue to go to therapy. We’ll do whatever it takes.

Lily: Billy, let’s just be honest. I mean, this has been going on for months. And we don’t need to keep doing this. Right? I mean… we can’t keep doing this.

[ Cellphone dings ]

Sally: So… do you still have any concerns about me ghosting you?

Nick: Sally, if this is your version of ghosting, I’m all for it. In fact, why don’t you come and ghost me in the shower now?

Sally: I am going to have to take a rain check because I’m starving, and that is your fault. But I’m going to go unpack the goodies, and I will set up a feast while you go shower.

Nick: Okay.

Sally: [ Sighs ]

[ Exhales sharply ]

[ Sighs ]

Kyle: I wish none of this had happened. I wish I could shield you from everything that’s gone on with stark, the issues with our mothers, all of it.

Summer: I want to protect you as much as you want to protect me.

Jack: Tempting as it might be to target her, I think it would be a big mistake to steal from phyllis. She’s too much of a wild card.

Diane: You’re probably right. Using her to dupe jeremy would be karmic justice, but the last thing we need is her going on a rampage and ruining our plan.

Jack: I don’t even want to contemplate what she would do.

Diane: [ Sighs ] And even though I have easy access to ashley’s belongings because she’s in the same house as kyle and harrison, she is still your sister, so it’d make it seem less credible.

Jack: Yeah, not to mention her growing anger at the two of us becoming closer. No, she could be every bit as dangerous to our plan as phyllis.

Diane: So I guess that only leaves one remaining member of the coven, and given that she’s partially responsible for bringing jeremy stark to town, maybe nikki deserves a little larceny coming her way.

Next Week on “The Young and The Restless”:

Chelsea: What happened?

Billy: It’s over.

Tucker: That’s what I remember and missed so much. Don’t tell me you don’t.

Devon: I’m not worried about Nate any more. I’m worried about a completely different threat.

Lily: What are you talking about?

Devon: We have a new traitor at the company.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

The second half was interrupted by news, so we’ll have to get it from On Demand.

Nina: Britt. Look at you, so beautiful. Turbulent. Doctor of the year. Everything you did to help people… everything you still could have done and… it’s not fair.

[ Sighs ]

[ Horse whinnies softly ] I want to stay with thor. Uh, we’ll go back. We just, uh, need to take a minute. ‘Cause mommy’s tired? No, it’s just — it’s — it’s cold outside. We just need to warm up.

[ Horse whinnies ]

[ Shivering ] I’m not cold. What? You’re freezing. Your nose is about to fall off. It is not! Oh, yeah? Okay. Then, uh, what do you call, uh — what do you call this? That’s your thumb. Are you sure? You better check. When my little sister comes, I’m gonna guard her nose, and she’s gonna guard mine. Oh, is that right? I can’t wait for her to be here.

[ Chuckles ] Neither can we.

[ Horse whinnies ] I understand that clairborne county, colorado, is a very rural area, but I do not understand how, in this digital age, there could be still three josiahs out there that you can’t find addresses for. That is a great idea. Please keep on it, and remember that a woman’s life could depend on this. Josslyn: Mom? In the kitchen. I barely slept.

[ Breathes sharply ] Wow. You look like how I feel. Yeah, I worked late last night. Wasn’t supposed to come in this morning, but someone called in sick, so here I am. I’m on my break, though, so, coffee? Espresso — double.

[ Chuckles ] Just kidding. Yeah, coffee’s fine. Thank you. Coming right up. Some night, huh?

[ Sighs ] The good news is esme’s in custody. The bad news is… she’s pregnant. I’m sorry. I’m gonna need you to say that again one more time, so I heard you correctly. They found esme? Yeah. And she’s pregnant? Yes. Which brings me to my question, um — do you have any tips for how to be a good big brother?

[ Indistinct conversations ]

[ Monitor beeping ] I can’t sleep. Can you give me something stronger?

[ Beeping continues ] Yes, I can arrange that. You’re sure the baby’s okay? I already told you, the baby’s heart pattern looks good. There are no signs of distress. I still can’t believe esme jumped. I mean, it’s a miracle. Right? That she and the baby are okay? Yeah, she’s one lucky girl. I’m glad martin agreed to take her case. I just — I wish I could get in there and talk to esme. Nikolas. What? I’m just saying. That’s not gonna happen. Esme: Who are you?

[ Monitor beeping ] I’m glad you asked, esme. I am a mother whose daughter has been taken from her. And what do you want? My pound of flesh.

Nikolas, listen to me — you need to stay as far away from esme as possible. Listen, if esme is faking her amnesia, I’m gonna know. Why would she? She has all the leverage if she remembers, and seeing you could bring back those memories. Do you — do you want to risk that? Of course not, but if I — then stay out of her room. Hey, you went in there, and she didn’t “remember you.” Well, I’m not the father of her baby, and my face isn’t the last one she saw before she chucked herself off the parapet. I want to see esme myself. Too bad. The longer it takes to remember, the better for us. It buys us time. For what, I have no idea. But I don’t want to think about that right now. Hey. It’s gonna be okay, elizabeth. No, listen to me. As we speak, demetrius is cleaning every trace of evidence that esme was in the north tower, and once he’s done, it is gonna be esme’s word against ours. Great. Until then, stay away from her. Drew: Hey, guys. I just came by to see if I could take comet out for a little ride.

[ Breathes sharply ] Uncle drew, did you meet thor? I did not. In the paddock. Did he bring his hammer? Actually, uh — uh, thor is what wiley named the new foal. Oh, right. Of course. I mean, I saw him out there — I just didn’t know he had a new name. Can I take uncle drew out to meet thor? Please? Wiley’s so excited about the new horse, we can’t keep up with him.

[ Chuckles ] Mommy and daddy are too cold.

[ Laughs ] Well, I would love it if you took me out to introduce me to the one and only thor. Yay!

[ Mouths words ]

[ Horse whinnies ] Come on.

[ Chuckles ] Show me the way. Is he strong? I just need a minute.

[ Door closes ] You got it. Dex. What are you doing here? I-I needed to talk to you. Did you hear about dr. Westbourne? No. What about her? There was another hook attack last night. Oh, god. That’s awful. Why would the hook attack britt? Well, the way I understand it, the hook was after someone else, britt intervened, and the intended victim got away. Well, that’s good. I mean, no one got hurt, right? Britt’s okay, isn’t she?

[ Whispers ] Uh, come here. Come here. No, she’s not. Britt died. But she — britt was fine. She’s fine. Well, according to the invader, britt suffered a scratch. The hook had poison on it, and britt collapsed about an hour later. Was she alone? No, she was with her mom. Oh, my god.

[ Breathes deeply ] I know it’s terrible. It’s awful. It’s — this happened because of me. So, did you know? Esme and your father… I found out right before I went to pentonville. That is rough. I knew that my father had slept with esme, but I did not know that esme was pregnant until last night. A-and your father, how long has he known? No idea. But I definitely got the impression that he knew before last night. Mm, and did esme admit to attacking people with the hook? No. Of course not. Can you imagine esme admitting to anything, ever?

[ Sighs ] She said she can’t remember a thing. Nina. Hi. Hey, thank you for meeting me here. You know, there are reporters all around the metro court hoping to get a quote about britt. I — you know, I had the security try to — what? They’re vultures, okay? Yeah, I hope that they don’t get ahold of aunt liesl ’cause that will not be pretty. Is this all you got here, one box? Yeah. Just one box. That’s all she had. Alright. Frank, can you take this to nina’s car? Yes, sir. Hey. Hey. Yeah? How are you doing otherwise? Well, I’m not great. I’m really worried about aunt liesl. You know, I talked to scott this morning, and she is broken. She’s grieving. She lost a child. There’s no greater pain.

[ Whispers ] Yeah, I know. You know, she doesn’t handle grief well. I mean, who does? But she was supposed to be here. She packed that box. Where do you think she is? Did — did liesl know that esme prince is in this hospital? I d– sonny. No. “A pound of flesh”? Shakespeare, right?

[ Monitor beeping ] Perhaps you’ll recognize another quote from his scottish tragedy in which a certain lady says, “look like th’innocent flower, but be the serpent under’T.” Look, I-I-I-I — I-I don’t know what happened to your daughter, but whatever did, I-I-I-I don’t remember. Is that supposed to invoke my mercy? No, look — that the taking of my daughter’s life was forgettable? Look, I’m sorry. Whatever happened to your daughter, I didn’t do it! How do you know if you don’t remember? You do not deserve the peace I’m about to bestow upon you, but the world does. Now, you owe my daughter an explanation. And you’d better think of one fast because you’re about to see her.

[ Muffled shouting ]

Schweigen! Another peep, and I will make this exquisitely painful. You scratched her with that infernal hook. She died in my arms. Now it’s your turn.

[ Muffled ] Don’t! Please! My baby! You need to accept that nothing you say right now matters. The only thing that matters is dr. Britta westbourne. My daughter — murdered, poisoned, taken by you.

Was ist das? You’re pregnant? Cameron: Do you think that esme might be faking her amnesia to avoid being charged as the hook? She is capable of anything.

[ Sighs ] On the other hand, she’s got a baby bump out to here, so… for her to be running around stabbing people, it seems unlikely. But if esme isn’t the hook, that means that somebody else is out there targeting trina and the rest of us. But who else besides esme would be targeting trina? I don’t know. But I do think that you and me and trina and josslyn, we should all get together and figure out what’s next. Yeah, you know what? You guys might have to meet without me. Just let me know what you decide. Why are you acting so weird? Is — is this about our parents or…? W– what? I do– I don’t know what you mean. No, um, what is it? What’s going on? Joss and I broke up. Josslyn, this is not your fault. There is only one person who is responsible for this, and it sure as hell isn’t you. Yeah. But if we had stayed… stayed where? What are you talking about? I was the intended victim.

[ Breathes sharply ] Britt interfered with me. I got away. What? Josslyn, oh, my god. Are you okay? Yeah, I’m fine. Thanks to britt and dex. Was it esme? I don’t know. I — [ Sobs ] The attacker was wearing a mask. I-I couldn’t see their face. All I saw was this hook swinging around. Why didn’t you wait for the police? I-I was — I was so freaked out. I just — I wanted to get out of there, and I didn’t have anything helpful to tell them. So you left britt alone? Well, she said it was okay.

[ Breathes sharply ] She — she said she was fine. She told us to go. She had it handled. You spoke to britt? Yes. She wasn’t wounded. Nothing was wrong. I didn’t know she was injured. That — that — that’s not what I mean. I don’t think she knew. Josslyn, that’s not what I’m asking. Why did britt tell the police that she didn’t know the identity of the person being attacked? Because of me. Everything seems fine. Yeah, I’m gonna go try to find aunt liesl, okay?

[ Indistinct conversations ] Elizabeth. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to interrupt. Have — have you — have you seen liesl obrecht? No, not since last night.

[ Cellphone beeps ] Sorry… no, that’s okay. Sonny. What do you want? Have you spoken to spencer? Not today. Why? Well, as you recall, he and britt were pretty close. I’m concerned about how he’s taking the news of her death. Why don’t you try talking to him? Because he’s not taking any of my phone calls or texts. What did you do now? Oh, you’re gonna find out soon enough. As you heard, uh, esme is in the hospital. Yeah, she’s right in that room. That’s right. Yeah. Right. Turns out she’s pregnant. Are you telling me that spencer’s gonna be a father? It’s not spencer’s baby. It’s mine.

[ Suspenseful music plays ] You sick —

[ Grunts ]

[ Punch lands ] Out, out, brief candle!

[ Sobbing ] Your end will be far more merciful than the one you gave my daughter.

[ Door opens ] Oh, my god! Aunt liesl, stop!

[ Monitor beeping ] What have you done?

You and joss broke up? Oh, you think you can’t believe it? But when I got out of pentonville, I asked you, and you said that you guys were good. I thought we were. I guess I was wrong. So the breakup wasn’t mutual, then? Joss said that we have grown apart. Is this because of that jerk, dex? You made my daughter leave the scene of a crime. I want to know why. Dex didn’t make me do anything. It was a mutual decision. And britt agreed. She said she could handle it. And what if the attacker had followed you? Where did you go? The reason we didn’t stick around for the police is because I was carrying. It’s a gun sonny gave me for work. It’s not registered to me. I don’t know where it came from or what would come back if the police ran a trace on it. Well, at least I know why you felt safe going wherever.

[ Sighs ] Alright, you should probably go. It’s okay. Your mom has questions, I’m happy to explain. Thank you, but I can fill her in. I’m gonna walk you out.

[ Door opens ] Look, joss. I… listen, it’s just better if my mom hears everything from me. Everything? Oh, god, no. No, I just want to make sure she understands that you didn’t talk me into anything. And that the decisions I made were mine. Any regrets? Other than leaving britt alone… not one. I feel like I should stay.

[ Breathes deeply ] This is between me and my mom. I won’t push anymore. You know how to reach me. Yeah, I do. Bye. [ Sniffles ]

[ Horse whinnies in distance ] Okay. Let’s go visit thor. No. Are you sure you’re not — not doing too much? Please, I’m barely doing anything. And I just don’t want you to push yourself too hard. Now that the first round of chemo is out of the way, I’m getting my strength back. This morning, I was actually hungry. Uh, yeah, I noticed, you, uh, you ate a whole piece of toast. And I picked it up all by myself. Mm.

[ Laughs ] I am going to get through this. I’m counting on it.

[ Breathes sharply ] Don’t panic. Melanie lured wiley back into the house with some [Chuckling] Hot chocolate. What about us? We like hot chocolate. Aw. You guys seem like you’re doing better. We’re hanging in there. Yeah. Hey, have you, um — have you heard anything at all from the donor registry? Uh, no match yet, but, you know, hope springs eternal. How is the search going for my birth family?

[ Sighs ] Well, I’m sorry, I don’t have any — any new news, but my reporters, they’re still working on it. Well, hopefully they find a lead soon because obviously a relative is the best bet for a bone marrow donor. Yeah, well, believe me, they know the urgency here. And I’m glad I ran into you guys, because I do have a question. Fire away. Yeah, um… willow, did — did harmony or doug stay in touch with the leader of the commune in colorado? Specifically, did they ever mention a guy by the name of josiah? Yes. Didn’t I tell you? Harmony took me to visit josiah after we left. Aunt liesl.

[ Monitor beeping ]

[ Breathes sharply ] Oh, my god. Did you kill her?! Not yet. That was just a sedative to keep her quiet. Okay, okay. So esme’s fine, baby is fine. There’s no lasting injury. Not yet. No! Not ever. Okay, I-I’ve got to get you out of here. You go. I’ll be just a moment. No! No! Stop it! Give — stop it! Aunt liesl! Listen to me! This is not what britt would have wanted. My britta cannot want anything anymore. She’s dead because of her! Oh. Okay, so you would kill a mother and her baby?

Nein. I would not. Not the baby.

What do you remember about your visit to josiah?

[ Sighs ] Sorry. I don’t remember much of anything. I only know I visited because it was my first time on an airplane. I remember looking out the window at the clouds and harmony giving me a piece of gum so my ears would pop, but…that’s about it. And that’s the only time that you went to visit him? As far as I can recall. Shiloh made harmony cut ties with josiah when we joined dawn of day. Yeah, of course he did. He had to cut off your escape route. Why? Do you think josiah knew who my birth father was? Well… look, my reporters are still searching for other members of the commune, but we do think that, you know, josiah probably would be our best bet. Well… here’s hoping you find him. And soon. In the meantime, it’s so important just to stay positive. Okay? I know. And…I am. Yeah, you are. Good. And if I can ask… if you’ve got time and you have the energy, just to give carly a call, okay? She’s just concerned that with the stress of the pregnancy, any more bad news about the search for your biological family could just be a little overwhelming for you. Well, mom doesn’t know that — that willow’s sick. No. No, willow asked me not to say anything, and — and I haven’T. She’s just — she’s worried. And to be honest, I’m worried, too, just that maybe you’re losing hope. Believe me, I am holding onto hope with both hands. I am determined to be here to see my daughter and wiley grow up.

Steffy: Hmm. You have no idea how much I needed this.

Finn: Actually, I think I do. In fact, I will hold you as long as you need. I’ll hold you until this entire nightmare’s over.

Steffy: Will it be? Or is sheila gonna be in our lives forever?

Finn: Well, sheila’s in custody, right? Maybe we’ll luck out.

Steffy: You heard bill what he’ll do if she doesn’t get released.

Finn: Would he, though? After all this time, he would come forward about what your mom did and turn her in.

Steffy: He’s determined to help sheila resorting to blackmail. I mean, there are so many women he could choose from, women who actually add to his life, fulfill him. And who does he turn to? Sheila. Sheila carter.

Sheila: Are you sure it’s safe to talk?

Bill: I have taken care of everything, but nothing is guaranteed. So I wanna err on the side of caution. Keep your voice down and keep your distance.

Sheila: Yeah. But if we have this room to ourselves.

Bill: That’s the very opposite of what I just said. And it makes me wonder if you’re trying to avoid an answer.

Sheila: What?

Bill: I need to know if this is real.

Sheila: I can’t believe you even feel you have to ask that.

Bill: I have felt like this before, only to be let down. I’ll not be used. Is that what you’re doing, sheila? Are you using me?

[ Bag zipping ]

[ Door opens ]

Katie: Oh, my.

[ Laughing ]

Carter: Yeah. I forgot to lock that again.

Katie: Ah, and let me guess, you were working out again?

Carter: Guilty as charged.

Katie: Oh, oh, hang on, hang on. Before you button up, there’s something you need to do first.

Carter: Somebody’s in a good mood.

Katie: Well, how can I help but in a good mood when I walk in on this?

[ Carter chuckles ]

Carter: I’m sure it’s more than that. Your visit with bill, it went well?

Katie: Okay, hang on a second. So I am here in your handsome arms, and you wanna talk about bill?

Carter: Not if you don’t want to.

Katie: Hmm. Well, my visit did go well. Yeah. I just can’t get over it. Sheila finally captured, and that’s all because of bill. He’s really a hero.

Steffy: If we give in, if we trade sheila’s freedom for my mother’s, we’re endangering all of us. Why can’t bill see that?

Finn: He can’t see anything, steffy. Sheila’s got some sort of emotional hold on him.

Steffy: And that is a truly frightening thought to know that bill has some like sick crush on a psychopath. What do we do, finn? What do we do? Sheila cannot be released. But if bill is serious about threatening my mom, I think our– our hands are tied. I don’t know.

Taylor: Okay. I have one question. One very important question. Who is throwing the party? Me or you?

Steffy: Ah, party? What, what, what, what party?

Taylor: Come on. I can’t be the only one that wants to celebrate. Sheila’s finally behind bars.

Sheila: Am I using you? If you mean by using, wrapping myself in your incredibly strong arms and not wanting you to let go. Connecting with someone in a way I’ve never connected with anyone like that my entire life. I’ve– I thought you felt the same way. That you were enjoying every minute of it.

Katie: You know what’s sad? When bill found out that I was concerned about him, it– he seemed surprised.

Carter: Did he?

Katie: Yeah.

Carter: Well, knowing bill he had something sarcastic to say.

Katie: I– that’s just it. I mean, he has, shall we say, a big personality, and none of that was there. That bluster. It was like he was so vulnerable. Something that I’ve rarely seen. Something’s been off with him for a while lately.

Carter: Well, it’s a good thing he wasn’t the least bit off when sheila came knocking on his door. We all owe bill our gratitude, and now we can focus on other things. Better things.

Katie: Mm. Much better things.

Taylor: [ Chuckles ] Steffy, you should have heard me when I got your text that sheila had finally been arrested. I screamed, “yes!” Right in the middle of my colleague’s speech. Now he won’t stop talking to me about alternative modalities for anxiety.

Steffy: How was the conference?

Taylor: It was great. Sold out. Thank you. That– I don’t wanna talk about that. I wanna hear about how everything went down. So– so wait. Bill is the one that found sheila and turned her in?

Finn: Yeah. It was bill. He’s responsible for all this.

Taylor: Wow. Our family is safe again because of bill spencer.

Sheila: Look, we’re gonna have many more nights together in front of the fireplace. Just get me out of here. Please, just take me back home.

Bill: Home? You really think this can work, the two of us?

Sheila: Well, given the way things have gone the last few weeks, I’d say yes.

Bill: Why did you follow me that night?

Sheila: From el giardino? I– I don’t know. I saw you sitting at the bar by yourself, staring off, and you just looked so lonely. And it intrigued me. I’ll be honest, I was bored. I was bored. My situation being alone and following you, well, that was going to be an adventure. The all-powerful rich, mighty bill spencer, where was he heading off to?

Bill: Not what you expected, I’m sure.

Sheila: No, it definitely wasn’T. I never expected you to walk down the beach and plop yourself down in the sand. And I knew that approaching you would be a risk. But I don’t know, there was just– there was something that said I had to take that chance.

Bill: We talked until the sun came up.

Sheila: And you could have called the police. You could have easily overpowered me. Turned me in. But you didn’T. And I– I still, still can’t believe that.

Bill: I can’t either. There was something about the desperation in your voice, the loneliness in your eyes. That night, we connected in a way. Well, like you said, in a way that I’ve never connected with anyone. My god, what does that say about me?

Sheila: That says you’re tired of faking who you are and that you’ve been with the wrong women. You’ve been with good girls most of your life. Bill, good girls who didn’t truly understand you. They wanted to change you. Wanted to make you more like them. You’re not one of them, bill. Neither one of us are. Okay everyone, our mission is complete balanced nutrition.

Carter: You know, the best part of all of this?

Katie: All of what?

Carter: Sheila being arrested.

Katie: We no longer have to live in danger.

Carter: Yeah. Yes. But I was going to say your gorgeous smile.

Katie: [ Chuckles ]

Carter: I like seeing you happy.

Katie: I like being happy. It definitely feels like there’s a weight lifted. With sheila in custody, we can concentrate on better things on the future and all those wonderful moments yet to come.

Sheila: Other women want to change you. They wanna tame you and turn you into a weaker version of your true self. But not me. I know there’s nothing wrong with you. I understand you. The core, just like you do me.

Bill: Steffy came to see me.

Sheila: Did she?

Bill: She asked a lot of questions. Questions I’m not sure I even have the answers to. Katie as well. She called me a hero.

Sheila: That’s exactly what you are. You’re my hero. Oh, come on, bill. Please tell me you are not wavering because of something a logan has said.

Bill: I am putting everything on the line for you. If we pull this off, I lose everyone. My kids will hate me. Katie, brooke. I say goodbye to everyone in my life.

Sheila: Yes. And you say hello to someone who understands you.

Bill: Is this real?

Sheila: I– I know that this seems sudden, but I think I have more than shown you how I feel.

Bill: You’re talking about a dance with the devil. If it’s real, it will be an unforgettable ride. If it’s not, I know you, sheila carter.

Taylor: What a way to kick off the new year, huh? Sheila getting caught. It has to be a good omen, right? I am so optimistic right now about my future. I’m back in la, making up for lost time with my grandkids. My– my career is booming. And you know what else? I have a new friend, brooke freaking logan. After everything we’ve been through, I think this is gonna be my best year yet.

[ Knock on the door ]

Taylor: I’ll get it.

Finn: Look, she’s right. Okay? This will be her best year.

Steffy: From inside a cell. We can’t let that happen. We can’t give in to bill’s blackmail.

Taylor: Chief baker, hi.

Chief baker: Dr. Hayes. How are you?

Taylor: You know what? I am excellent. This news about sheila.

Chief baker: It’s about time, right?

Taylor: Yes.

Chief baker: May I?

Taylor: Yes, please. Come on in.

[ Door closes ]

Chief baker: Hello, steffy.

Steffy: Hey.

Chief baker: Finn.

Finn: Hey, chief baker.

Chief baker: As happy as we all are, capturing sheila was really just step one. There’s a whole lot of work to be done before prison becomes her permanent address.

Taylor: Yeah. I mean, I understand that there’s gonna be a hearing, but we all know what the outcome’s gonna be.

Chief baker: Well, that’s why I’m here, in fact, to review your statements, make sure everything is in order for trial.

Bill: If you prosecute

sheila, she won’t be

the only one behind bars.

If sheila goes to jail,

taylor goes to jail.

Taylor: Steffy and finn will do whatever’s necessary to put sheila carter in prison. My asthma felt anything but normal.

Chief baker: I just wanted to reiterate how important your testimony is going to be.

Steffy: I want sheila to pay for what she did.

Finn: There’s no doubt she belongs in prison.

Taylor: Yeah. And stephanie and finn will do whatever they need to do to cooperate. And we all will. Everyone in our family wants to make sure sheila never walks free again.

Chief baker: Exactly what I wanted to hear. Well, thank you all. I will be in touch.

Finn: I’ll show you out.

Steffy: Thanks.

Taylor: Bye. Oh, my gosh. Sheila’s arraignment can’t come soon enough. She’s gonna be locked up forever.

Steffy: I really, I really don’t wanna talk about sheila right now, mom.

Taylor: Hey. What’s going on?

Steffy: Oh god. There is just so much to be thankful for. So much joy around us, and I think that’s– that’s what we need to focus on, okay?

Taylor: Okay. Okay. Yes. There is so much good. You can focus on your amazing husband and your beautiful kids.

Steffy: And you, my mother. I am just so– um, I’m so proud of you. The woman that you are. You deserve to be happy. You deserve the brightest future imaginable. You said this might be your best year yet. And I want you to know that I will do everything I can to make that happen, okay?

Taylor: I– I love you so much, baby. Thank you.

Sheila: I know why you’re questioning this, why you’re protecting yourself, and it has nothing to do with me. Has to do with what you’ve been through in your past with those bitch logans that put– okay. I– I’m sorry. It’s just that they’ve– they’ve always tried to change you, and that’s why you’re having a hard time understanding what we have together here. They don’t appreciate you. They never did. Not the way that I do. They couldn’t possibly. Neither one of them would’ve ever walked out on you if they did. And that’s something I will never do to you. No, not with the connection that I– I have with you. Connection that I have been looking for my whole life. Someone who– who can handle me and stand up for me. And I know that you’ve been looking for that too.

Bill: Looking? I’m thinking that person didn’t exist.

Sheila: No, I’m here. I’m right here. If you’re there for me, I will be there for you, and I will be a powerful force behind you. Can’t you see it? Bill, the– the possibilities, the two of us together, there is nothing that we can’t do. I can already feel it. I am so ready to love you the way you need, the way no other woman has. But you’ve gotta believe me.

Bill: I wanna believe in your feelings for me. That you’re telling me the truth.

Sheila: I promise you, I am.

Days of Our Lives Update

Days of Our Lives logo

Update written by Joseph

Chad brings tea for Stephanie at the Horton house to thank her for spending time with the kids. Chad jokes about hearing Thomas upstairs telling Jack that their day was lit. Stephanie and Chad agree that they also thought the day was lit.

Roman thinks they should get Kate to the hospital. Kate argues that it was just a sneeze. Kate acknowledges that Rex said her test results might mean she’s relapsing but also might mean nothing. Roman doesn’t want to take any chances and wants to take her to get checked out but Kate says she doesn’t want to. Kate wants to stay at the Pub and have dinner with Roman. Kate suggests chowder as what the doctor would order.

Steve asks Rex about the test results. Rex says it doesn’t necessarily mean Kayla is relapsing. Kayla argues that he can try to be optimistic but she sees the numbers and that her and Kate’s results were almost identical last fall, but the rate of decline has vastly accelerated. Steve asks what that means. Kayla responds that it means she and Kate might be in real trouble, so she suspects Marlena might be too.

Marlena and John rehearse fighting at home about Kristen. Marlena ends up getting carried away and throws a glass of water on him, then apologizes. John says it’s okay and that it’s why they are rehearsing as they want the fight to look as real as possible since that’s the only way he’ll get Kristen to trust him. Marlena hopes as soon as he does, he can find out what she has over Brady.

Kristen brings Brady to the secret room in the DiMera Tunnels but the Orchid is gone. Kristen says she doesn’t understand as it was right there and she just checked on it the other day. Brady tells her to stop lying. Kristen insists that someone took it. Brady asks if this is another one of her tricks. Kristen says he has to believe her. Brady declares that he’s done and warns her to find the orchid now or she will never see Rachel again.

Chad and Stephanie laugh about Stephanie taking a video of Chad falling while ice skating. Stephanie mentions that she promised to send it to the kids. Stephanie gets up and notes a pain in her ankle as it’s been a long time since she’s skated. Chad offers to massage her ankle. Stephanie says he doesn’t have to but Chad insists that he wants to, so she allows him to.

Steve asks if Rex has any more of the serum. Rex reminds them that they only had one vial to begin with. Kayla recalls that there wasn’t enough left to cure one person, let alone three. Rex notes that the only way to reproduce it is with the Orchid that created it. Steve says they are at the mercy again of whoever brought the serum. Kayla declares that they are not going to just sit around and wait for a miracle, they are going to find some other treatment. Kayla adds that they also need to warn Kate and Marlena.

Marlena tells John that she’s glad they put their plan on hold for the holidays as she doesn’t like fighting with him, even if it’s pretend. John says if this works, they may finally get Kristen out of Brady’s life for good. Eric then shows up at the door. John hugs him and wishes him a Happy New Year. Eric apologizes for just popping in. Marlena asks what brings him by. Eric says he’s looking for Brady. John says he can’t help him as they just got home and he wasn’t home. Marlena thanks Eric for volunteering to watch Rachel for them, so they could have a movie night alone. Eric is glad they enjoyed it, but admits that he had an ulterior motive. John asks what that means. Eric responds that it gave him a chance to kidnap Rachel.

Brady tells Kristen to quit playing games with him. Kristen asks why she would do that when he’s threatening to take her child away which she calls a despicable, heartless thing to do. Brady asks if she’s kidding since she’s been holding Marlena, Kate, and Kayla’s lives over his head for months. Kristen argues that Rachel is innocent. Brady asks if she thinks he wanted to bring his daughter in to this and says she gave him no choice. Brady demands that she give him the orchid but Kristen complains that she can’t because it’s not there. Brady declares that he’s going to tell Rachel that she said goodbye. Kristen pleads with him and starts to cry as she swears on Rachel’s life that she’s telling the truth that someone stole the Orchid.

Chad massages Stephanie’s ankle. Stephanie admits it feels pretty good. Chad talks about learning a thing or two from dating a physical therapist for a few weeks. Stephanie says her ankle feels better already. Chad is glad he could help. Stephanie then gets a call from Alex. Alex didn’t think she would pick up and asks if she’s still mad at him. Stephanie says no and that they are good. Alex says that makes him happy. Alex says he just wanted to call and apologize for being a jerk earlier. Alex admits that he was feeling like Chad just keeps finding ways to spend time with her but it’s behind them now and he apologizes so he hopes they can move forward. Alex asks Stephanie if she wants to grab dinner tonight and offers to pick her up at her place. Stephanie decides that she’ll meet him and they decide on the Bistro. They hang up. Chad asks if Stephanie is heading out. Stephanie tells him that she and Alex are going to have dinner. Stephanie thanks Chad for the massage and the day, commenting that it was really fun. Stephanie then exits the house.

Brady asks Kristen who would steal the Orchid. Kristen says she doesn’t know and says anyone that lives in the DiMera Mansion could have wandered down there. Brady argues that Kristen had the one thing that could save Marlena, Kate, and Kayla’s lives and questions her leaving it in a place where an army of people could have access to it. Brady asks how she could be that careless. Kristen talks about EJ securing the tunnels and the construction has been going on since last fall. Brady asks what her point is. Kristen figured everyone would steer clear until the construction was done. Brady says she figured wrong and points out the construction team would have been around all along and argues that some construction guy could have given the orchid to his wife. Kristen insists that it has to be here, somewhere in this house. Brady hopes to God that it is, for her sake.

John questions Eric saying he kidnapped their granddaughter. Eric explains that Rachel is safe, in Salem, and thinks she’s on a fun adventure. John asks who she is with. Eric says she’s with a friend who is trustworthy. Marlena questions if Brady signed off on this. Eric promises that he wouldn’t have done it if Brady didn’t and nothing happened to Rachel at all. Eric explains that it’s all an act for Kristen’s benefit. Marlena jokes a lot of that is going around. John questions involving Kristen’s kid and worries that something like that could push her off the deep end. Marlena agrees as much as she dislikes Kristen. Eric argues that it was the only way to neutralize Kristen. Eric adds that Kristen has been blackmailing Brady for months and forced him to break up with Chloe and move her in. John declares that he knew it all along. Marlena asks what Kristen has over Brady. Eric responds that it’s Marlena’s life.

Roman finishes a call with Kayla. Kate guesses it’s not good news. Roman informs her that Kayla’s test results were almost identical to Kate’s. Kate guesses they are relapsing together and tries to change the subject. Roman tells her that this is serious. Kate knows she’s getting sick again and last time she almost died, but she didn’t so she doesn’t intend to die this time either, so she just wants to enjoy her dinner.

Kayla informs Rex that Roman is going to break the news to Kate and hopefully will convince her to come in for more tests. Rex guesses Kate will put up a fight. Kayla decides that she should call Marlena, but she then faints as Steve and Rex rush to check on her.

Brady paces in the living room of the DiMera Mansion. Kristen comes in and says no one is there except Harold and he said no one has been in the tunnels since the construction started as they were all warned to stay away due to toxic hazards. Kristen adds that none of the workers would steal anything. Brady argues that it brings them back to her. Kristen insists that she didn’t move it. Kristen reminds Brady that it was her leverage over him and she would never give that up. Kristen admits that she doesn’t really want Marlena and the others to die. Brady screams that now they might because of Kristen’s selfishness and insanity. Kristen repeats that she’s sorry as she really didn’t want any of this to happen. Brady declares that if anything happens to the three women, their blood will be on Kristen’s hands.

Eric reveals to John and Marlena that Kristen was the one who provided the serum but only after Brady broke up with Chloe. Marlena says they always knew Kristen was manipulative, but she never believed that she would go this far. John talks about having suspicions months ago and recalls catching Brady going through Kristen’s things. Marlena argues that it doesn’t make sense since Brady didn’t go back to Chloe after they were cured and instead moved Kristen in. Marlena wonders why he would do that if the threat to them was over. Eric then reveals that according to Kristen, it’s not over, as she claims that all three of the women will need another booster shot and she won’t turn over the Orchid unless Brady keeps doing what she wants. John asks if Marlena has been feeling okay. Marlena says she has but then she sneezes.

Rex brings Kayla water as Steve checks on her. Kayla says she’s better but just got dizzy. Rex checks Kayla and says she’s burning up, so they need to admit her immediately. Kayla argues that she has too much work to do. Rex insists that everyone she cares about would want her to take care of herself. Kayla can’t believe this is happening again. Steve has no doubt they will beat this again like the last time.

Roman tells Kate that to beat this, she needs to be where they can make sure it doesn’t get worse. Kate refuses to go through that again. Roman gets that it’s really hard and assures that he’ll be with her every step of the way, as will Rex and the entire team at the hospital. Kate repeats that she will not go to the hospital. Chad then arrives and asks if everything is okay. Roman hopes Chad can talk sense in to Kate. Chad asks what’s going on. Kate says it’s nothing. Roman informs Chad that the virus that Orpheus infected her with is back and she needs to go to the hospital. Roman asks if Chad agrees. Kate argues that it doesn’t matter and declares she will not go to the hospital. Kate then gets up, but faints in to Chad’s arms.

Stephanie joins Alex at the Kiriakis Mansion for dinner. Alex apologizes and says he had no idea the Bistro was closed for renovation. Stephanie says it’s fine and she prefers this. Alex apologizes again for how he was earlier because he hates that he acted jealous, insecure, and territorial. Alex says he’s not that guy, or at least he wasn’t until he met her. Stephanie promises that he has no reason to feel threatened by Chad as they are just friends. Alex points out that they are friends who almost hooked up not too long ago. Stephanie points out that they didn’t because she was wroried about her mom’s illness and he was still grieving his wife. Alex argues that Chad is going to be ready to move on at some point. Stephanie insists that has no bearing on their relationship. Stephanie assures Alex that she is with him, not Chad. Stephanie jokingly asks when he will get that through his thick head.

Chad and Roman lie Kate down on the floor at the Pub. Chad notes Kate’s pulse is weak and says they need to get her to the hospital so he’s calling an ambulance. Roman says he’s not waiting and tells Chad to call Kayla to tell her they are coming.

Steve and Rex have Kayla in a hospital bed. Kayla asks for her tablet so she can at least do some research while she’s stuck here. Steve gives her the tablet but notes that he thinks she should try to get some rest. Kayla calls that impossible and argues that someone out there has to have found a way to treat this disease, so she’s going to find out who that is. Kayla then gets a call from Chad, who informs her that Kate just passed out at the Pub and that Roman is on his way to the hospital with her. Kayla says they will be ready and hangs up. Kayla then informs Rex that his mom passed out at the Pub and his dad is bringing her in. Rex decides he will meet them downstairs and rushes out of the room. Kayla then tells Steve that he needs to call Marlena.

John points out that this is the second time Marlena has sneezed today. Marlena blows it off as probably nothing. Marlena then asks Eric if he thinks Kristen was lying when she said everybody would need additional doses of the serum. Eric says Brady doesn’t think so but he wasn’t willing to chance it. Marlena acknowledges that Brady sacrificed so much by giving up the woman he loves and complains that Kristen is so cruel. John asks why Brady didn’t just tell them what Kristen was holding over him. Eric explains that it was part of the terms that if Brady didn’t keep quiet, Kristen was going to destroy the Orchid. John questions if it was Eric’s idea to force Kristen’s hand or she’ll never see her daughter again. Eric responds that she should be turning over the Orchid as they speak. John says he doesn’t know about this since Kristen is such a loose cannon. John worries that between Kristen’s blackmail blowing up in her face and being arrested for brainwashing Stefan, the walls are closing in on her and this whole thing could go sideways in a hurry. Eric encourages that they will find out soon enough. Brady and Kristen then come in. Eric asks what happened and where the orchid is. Brady responds that it’s gone.

Alex and Stephanie lay together on the couch in front of the fireplace. Stephanie says this is nice after she was freezing on the ice all day. Alex is glad he could warm her up. Stephanie notes that it has to be -10 outside, so she’s kind of dreading going home. Alex suggests she not go home then and invites her to stay the night if she wants to, adding that there’s no pressure. Stephanie responds that she would really like that as they kiss.

Kayla tells Steve that he has to go call John and Marlena. Steve says he will in a minute, but he wants to make sure she’s okay first. Kayla says she’s fine now but it just makes her angry that even from behind bars, Orpheus is still wreaking havoc on their lives. Steve promises they will figure this out. Kayla is all for optimism but says they need to be realistic. Kayla says they survived last time because they got lucky since someone anonymously dropped off the serum. Kayla wishes she could figure out who that person was. Steve feels he dropped the ball on that, but he was just so happy that they were okay. Kayla says he can’t blame himself as they were all just relieved that the nightmare was over. Steve hopes that whoever it was will come through for them again.

Brady explains that they searched the whole DiMera Mansion and the Orchid is not there. John suggests maybe it never was and Kristen has it hidden somewhere else. Kristen swears that she does not know what happened to it. Marlena questions why they should believe her. Kristen responds that Brady threatened to take off with Rachel and she was not willing to risk losing her. John points out that Kristen had no problem risking the lives of three women to get what she wanted and risking taking Marlena, Kate, and Kayla away from their kids. John calls Kristen a twisted and evil monster. Kristen argues that John quickly turned on her, so she’s guessing Brady and Eric weren’t the only ones putting on a show. Kristen tells Eric that it’s obvious that he took her daughter. Kristen brings up Brady arranging for Eric to be with Rachel that night. Kristen calls them all a bunch of liars which Marlena mocks her for. Kristen argues that all she tried to do was get her family back. John argues that Brady tried to be reasonable about custody but there’s no reasoning with her because she’s deranged and pathetic. John shouts that now Kristen has put her own daughter in the line of fire. Kristen blames Brady and Eric for doing that. John calls her a sick freak and tells her to think about it. John declares that if Kristen really lost the Orchid, then Rachel could lose her grandmother and asks how she’s going to feel when she finds out that Kristen was responsible for that. Eric adds that it includes Kate and Kayla and comments on Kristen traumatizing Rachel. John says it was all because of Kristen’s damn sick obsession with Brady. Kristen suggests maybe they will find the orchid. Brady asks what the plan is if they don’t and the symptoms come back. John gets a call from Steve and says he’ll have to fill him in on what’s going on here. Steve asks if Marlena is feeling okay. John says she’s fine and asks why. Steve responds that he has some bad news.

Rex has Kate in a hospital bed as she wakes up. Rex asks how she’s feeling. Kate complains that she didn’t want to go to the hospital. Rex says they took a vote and she was on the floor of the Pub, so she lost. Kate worries that it’s bad. Rex is just glad she’s there. Kate calls it so strange as she felt fine a moment ago, but now she wakes up here and she feels so weak. Kate notes that it’s happening faster this time. Rex encourages her to just rest as he will take good care of her. Kate asks Rex to not let her die here and to bring her home.

Alex and Stephanie go to Alex’s bedroom. Alex notes her limp and asks if her leg is okay. Stephanie says it’s just her ankle as it’s been a long time since she skated. Alex offers to massage it for her but Stephanie says that Chad already did. Alex questions that but Stephanie swears it wasn’t like that. Alex insists that he’s not jealous and he doesn’t want to spoil the mood. Stephanie jokes about getting him to behave with the promise of sex. Stephanie suggests they stop talking as they start kissing.

John tells Marlena that they need to get her to the hospital. Marlena laughs it off as a couple of sneezes. Eric points out that Steve said Kayla and Kate were fine before they passed out. John asks Marlena to lay down for him. Marlena remarks that if Kristen hadn’t been playing her games, the doctors could’ve found a cure by now. Marlena warns that if anything happens to Kate or Kayla and they don’t make it, that’s on Kristen. Kristen responds that this was not her intention and claims she was planning to turn the Orchid over at the first sign of any symptoms. John then takes Marlena to their bedroom. Eric states that they need to find the Orchid. Kristen argues that there’s a pressing matter at hand and demands her daughter back now.

At the hospital, Steve informs Chad and Roman that Kristen had the Orchid the whole time but now it’s gone missing. Roman complains that Kristen knew they would need another dose and if she had given them the Orchid at the start, they would be in the clear. Roman asks what the hell is wrong with Kristen. Steve explains that she apparently was using it to control Brady. Chad calls it playing games with peoples’ lives. Steve says that means the women they love could pay the price.

Rex knows Kate doesn’t want to be in the hospital but insists that it’s the best place for her right now. Kate asks about not having the antidote. Rex assures they are doing everything they can to find another cure. Kate thought they were cured. Rex says with Roman, it only took one dose, so he just assumed. Rex apologizes but Kate tells him not to blame himself. Rex asks if there’s anything else he can do for her other than let her go home. Kate instructs Rex to call his siblings and tell them not to come. Kate then starts reacting and says she feels so strange. Rex tries to figure out what’s going on. Roman rushes in and questions what is happening. Kate tells Rex and Roman that she loves them and she then flatlines causing Rex to panic.

Brady asks if Kristen thinks Dr. Rolf could have stolen the orchid. Kristen questions what his reason would be. Brady argues that he’s just asking if it was possible. Kristen tells him that Dr. Rolf is halfway across the world. Eric then returns with Rachel, who excitedly runs up to hug Kristen. Rachel mentions that Eric said she couldn’t come home because her and Brady were sick. Rachel asks if she’s better now. Kristen responds that they are perfectly fine. Brady wishes they could say that about everybody else.

Steve tells Chad that he’s going to break the news to Kayla about the Orchid. Chad asks if there’s anything he can do to help. Steve asks Chad to call Stephanie for him because he’s sure she’s going to want to be there for her mom. Chad agrees to do that right now.

Alex and Stephanie continue kissing. Stephanie decides she’s going to freshen up and she will be right back, so she heads to the bathroom. Stephanie’s phone then vibrates in the room with a call from Chad, which Alex sees and chooses to reject. Alex then lays in the bed and waits for Stephanie.

Steve tells Kayla about Kristen having the Orchid all along and losing it. Steve says they will figure out a way to make Kristen pay as soon as Kayla is better. Steve asks if Kayla found anything useful but Kayla says there is nothing on any sort of other treatment. Steve assures they are doing everything they can to find the Orchid and maybe some of that serum will show up. Kayla doesn’t know how long they can wait and admits she’s scared. Steve insists that the fight isn’t over yet so she can’t give up. Steve calls her, Kate, and Marlena the strongest women he knows, so this disease doesn’t have a chance against them and he knows they are all going to be fine.

Rex uses the defibrillator to try to revive Kate but is unsuccessful. The nurse says it’s time to call it. Roman urges him to try again but Rex states that there’s nothing more they can do. Rex announces that Kate has died at 8:02. Roman tells him not to stop but Rex says he’s sorry and hugs him.

General Hospital Updates

Update written by Dustin

Curtis met Portia at Haven Bistro. He told Portia that Trina had called him and was concerned about her mother’s safety after Britt’s death. Portia talked about all the bad things their family had been through. She was still reeling from Britt’s death. She told Curtis that she had admired Britt not only as a boss, but as a doctor and colleague. Curtis, wanting to shift the conversation away from talk of the past,  presented Portia with a calathea plant he’d gotten at the florist. He told Portia they symbolized new beginnings. Portia and Curtis both looked forward to the day when they would be wed.

Felicia arrived at the stables, looking very somber in search of Cody. She told him that Mac had been trying to reach him, and she burst into tears as she told him of Britt’s death. She advised him of exactly what the police knew. Cody said that life had never cut Britt a break. Felicia implied that this was something they both he and Britt had in common, and it was no surprise that they had enjoyed each other’s company for a while. Cody regretted that he had not simply been honest with Britt. He told Felicia that now Britt would never know the truth, that all he really wanted was Britt.  He thanked Felicia for coming to deliver the news in person. She said for him to thank Mac, because Mac had insisted that someone personally go to the Quartermaine’s to give Cody the news. She asked Cody if she could hug him and he said of course.  They shared a hug and then Felicia left.  Cody looked crushed and clearly felt alone.

Heather entered Ryan’s room at Spring Ridge, and he demanded to know where she’d been the night before. She said she had gone out for a bit of fresh air. Ryan commented that Britt had been killed by the Hook, and he realized that Heather was the killer. Heather said that someone had to protect their daughter from the killer. Ryan told Heather that she needed to confess so that their daughter could go free. Heather refused the idea, but insisted that she had done everything a mother could do to protect Esme.

Ryan then informed Heather that their little girl was going to have a baby.  Heather was thrilled and couldn’t wait to become a grandmother.

Outside of Britt’s room in the Metro Court, a reporter asked hounded Maxie with questions about Britt’s death. Brad appeared, yelling at the man, and Nina demanded that he leave the hotel or she would have him physically removed. He snapped a few photos as she pushed him, and he was gone. She thanked Maxie and Brad for meeting her there and informed them that the funeral home needed something for Britt to wear. Brad commented that Britt would love to hear people talking about her like a hero, and he suddenly got angry that she was gone. Maxie reminded him of how Britt had wanted them to be friends, and she suggested that they honor Britt that way by choosing her last outfit together.

The three of them entered Britt’s hotel room and found it empty.  The closets were also empty.  Nina made some calls and found out that Britt had her clothes sent to her destination and the rest of her things were put into the hospital’s charity donation bins.  Maxie and Brad were beside themselves.  Why would Britt have done such a thing?  They couldn’t understand it.  They spoke and questioned each other about Britt’s motives until Nina finally broke her silence.  She told them that Liesl had told her that Britt had late stage Huntington’s disease.  Maxie and Brad were speechless.  They showed a momentary moment of unity but that quickly dissolved into an argument over what type of outfit they would have Britt buried in.

Austin entered Britt’s office and found a crying Liesl packing Britt’s things. Austin advised LIesl that he would handle the packing.  He said that he would make sure what belonged to the hospital was returned to the hospital and what was personal would be forwarded to Liesl.  She thanked him for his birthday gift to Britt, and she asked Austin if Britt had been loved, to which Austin responded, “yes she was.” Austin chose to believe that Britt had changed her mind about leaving for good, and Liesl realized that Britt had planned on going away to die. Austin was sorry that Liesl had to hear that news from him.

Austin mentioned the incredible last week Britt had, including delivering a baby at the Quartermaine mansion and throwing an epic birthday party, all culminating in saving a life. He was sad that she was gone, but he believed that she’d picked a “badass way to go.” He then he made the mistake of mentioning that Esme had been admitted and was being held by the police there at General Hospital. After Austin left, Liesl picked up Britt’s lab coat with her badge on it.

Minutes later Nina entered Britt’s empty office. She responded to a text from Liesl, telling Nina to meet Liesl in Britt’s office.  “Where are you?” Nina responded to the original message.

At GH, Esme awoke and asked Elizabeth to remove the restraints.  Elizabeth said that she was not allowed to do that. Elizabeth asked Esme if she could remember anything at all. But, Esme said all she remembered was waking up in the hospital.

There was a knock at the door, and Dr. Kevin Collins entered. “I remember your face,” Esme said, but when Kevin introduced himself, she didn’t recognize his name. Kevin asked to be left alone with his new patient.

Kevin said he would explain how Esme knew his face, even though she did not know him, if she would answer some basic questions.  Kevin asked Esme if she recalled her name, where she had been, how she ended up in the water? She could not answer these questions. Kevin then asked her if she knew Spencer or Nikolas Cassadine.  She said she did not. Kevin then mentioned that Esme had previously cared for his brother Ryan, but as he was speaking they were interrupted when Martin barged into the room and demanded that Kevin “cease and desist” his questioning of his client by order of a Port Charles County judge. Martin advised Esme that he was her lawyer, and from that moment on she was to speak to no one but him. Kevin said, “far be it for me to disagree with the judge,” and he left. Martin asked Elizabeth for privacy, but Esme didn’t want her to go. Esme said that Elizabeth was the only one that had been very kind to her since she arrived. Esme asked about what she had supposedly done, and Martin mentioned a list of crimes, ending in murder and Esme appeared to briefly lose consciousness.

Elizabeth asked Martin for a minute with Esme, so he left the room.  Elizabeth advised Esme to simply rest and concentrate on her health and her baby.

Later, Esme was alone in her room and a doctor entered. Esme asked if she could have something stronger to help her sleep. The doctor closed the door and turned around, it was Liesl.  She said, “yes, that can be arranged.”

At the PCPD, Nikolas asked for a phone call, as he didn’t want Spencer to find out from anyone else about Britt’s death. Dante interrogated Nikolas about his involvement with Esme, and he suggested that Esme (since she is pregnant) had obviously had help staying hidden. “Who would have more reason to help than the father of her baby?” Dante wondered. Nikolas said that Dante was badgering him because he had nothing on him.  Dante said if that is the case, why are you getting so angry? Nikolas then left the police station because he was not being detained.

Kevin arrived to inform Dante that Martin had been assigned to Esme’s case. Dante doubted the legitimacy of Esme’s amnesia. Kevin said he needed more time to observe her and to consult with a neurologist, but he did believe that she had significant memory loss. He couldn’t say if the condition was short or long term. Dante was having a hard time believing that a pregnant woman could possibly overpower a cop (Rory) and a marine veteran (Brando).  He was determined to unveil the identity of the actual killer and bring them to justice.

Martin and Nikolas had a heated conversation about him being assigned to Esme’s case when Nikolas told him not to blame the judge. Nikolas said that he had pulled strings to have Martin assigned to the case. He then told Martin that Esme was carrying his child and that he knew she would be in good hands with a member of the family. Nikolas promised to double Martin’s normal fee until Esme gave birth, and thereafter triple it. Martin said they had a deal. However, they did not see Elizabeth approaching as Martin agreed to the deal. “Esme is in good hands with Uncle Martin,” Nikolas said.
