Recap written by Christine

Diane saw no point in asking Victor how he got into her suite, because she knew that was how he was. She’d been expecting him. She assumed Nikki ran straight to him after her encounter with Diane. Actually, Diane thought Victor would’ve come faster. She suggested he was slowing down, but he said he was as fast as he’d always been. Victor implied that he wanted Diane to get out of town. She said threatening helpless women wasn’t really his style. “Or is that what you’ve become these days? A common thug?,” she asked. He said he’d never threaten a helpless creature of any kind, but he considered her venomous. He told her to pack her bag before people found out she was back. She thought that if she stuck around long enough, people would tolerate her. She said Phyllis was putting up with her, and she was staying in Phyllis’ hotel. Victor was sure Phyllis was allowing that because it let her keep an eye on Diane. Diane was sure Nikki informed Victor that Diane changed. Victor said it was bull – people didn’t change after a few therapy sessions. “So only Newmans are allowed to changed,” Diane replied. She stated that Nikki had become a pious poster child for sobriety and clean living, and Adam had become a family man. Victor stated that it took many years for his wife and son to evolve. Diane had zero expectations from anyone in this town, so she said Victor could keep his threats to himself. She was only here to explain things to her son and ask his forgiveness.

Victor stated that Kyle was a Newman now. Diane knew that Victor was saying that because her son married his granddaughter. Victor said that meant Kyle would be accorded the security of a Newman, and Victor had Kyle’s back. Diane said she reunited with Kyle – Jack arranged it. Victor thought Jack made a mistake. Diane didn’t think so. The conversation with Kyle went well. She said she wasn’t going to interfere and make Kyle upset. Victor said Diane was delusional if she thought she could bring people peace and happiness, especially Kyle. Diane said she meant no harm. Victor reiterated that Diane should get the hell out of town. “You know who I am and you know what I’m capable of. That’s far more than sneaking into your hotel suite,” Victor stated. He left.

Mariah ran into Kyle at Society. He was sitting at the bar, staring off into space, until she called his name and said she had no idea he was home from Milan. She hugged him and said they had so much to catch up on. Kyle missed Mariah. He claimed he was here on business. She asked where Snowflake was. He said Summer was wonderful, and she had to stay in Italy to oversee the new Marchetti launch. She asked how long he was here for. He wasn’t sure. She hoped it would take a long time, because she wanted him to be here for her wedding on May 13th. She said he was the first champion of her and Tessa’s love, and the wedding wouldn’t be the same without him.

Kyle promised to do everything in his power to be there for the wedding. He didn’t realize a date had been set. Mariah said it had come together quickly, which was why he hadn’t gotten a save the date email. She said there had been some complications. He assumed she meant Rey’s death. He was sorry. He talked to Lola, and she was devastated. He asked how Mariah was. She was in shock, and she missed Rey, but she was mostly concerned for Sharon. They wanted to put the wedding back, but Sharon wanted to keep it on schedule. Kyle understood needing a touchstone when your life turned upside down. Mariah alluded to wanting Kyle to be part of the wedding. He assumed she wanted him to be her man of honor, and he said yes. That wasn’t what she wanted. She asked him to officiate the wedding.

Kyle was honored, but he wasn’t sure if he could say yes. He was dealing with some personal things, and he couldn’t commit to such an important role. Mariah asked if he and Summer were having problems. He said they were great. She knew they hadn’t talked a lot lately, but she could always count on him, and she hoped he felt the same way about her. He did feel the same way. He asked if they could go talk at the house. He could use her friendship right now. They went to the Abbott mansion, where he revealed that his mom was alive and in town to make amends. Mariah was stunned, and she thought it was messed up for Diane to fake her death. Kyle said Diane had a lot of explanations, and he thought most of them were garbage, but some of them got to him. He wondered if it was possible for someone to change that much. Mariah didn’t know. She liked to think so. She was so sorry this was happening to Kyle. Mariah said even if Diane had explanations, that didn’t mean those were answers.

Mariah thought Diane was asking a lot by hoping for a mother-son relationship. Kyle agreed and said that was why he was drinking in the middle of the afternoon and didn’t know which way was up. Mariah asked what Kyle was going to do and how to support him. His instinct was to welcome his mom back into his life. There were so many things he missed out on as a kid. Mariah understood it must feel like a fairy tale and a second chance. Kyle said Mariah understood. Jack was nervous about this, but Kyle asked how he could turn down the opportunity for a new relationship. Kyle said it was kind of like when he found out he had a whole son he didn’t know about. Mariah noted that Harrison didn’t fake his death. Kyle knew and he also knew fairy tales weren’t real, but this was everything he wished for as a kid. Mariah was afraid Kyle was setting himself up to be hurt. She asked how he could trust Diane and why he’d let her anywhere near Summer and Harrison.

Back at her room, Diane called Jack and left a message. She said Kyle’s reaction wasn’t what she’d hoped for, but she guessed it was all she could expect right now. She did what she came to do, and she hoped there would be more in the future, but she guessed there would be no guarantees, so she was going back to Los Angeles tomorrow.

Sally and Adam were in their hotel suite. She wondered why sneaking away to a hotel in the middle of the day was so sexy. He said having a suite in Phyllis’s hotel without her knowing made it extra hot. She noted that they’d recently admitted to each other that they were falling in love. She asked if they were becoming a couple. He didn’t know. He wasn’t expecting any of this. They thought about how all their declarations that they were strictly professional didn’t work out. He teased that he’d sold it better than she did, but she didn’t agree. She said all her assurances to him, Chloe and Chelsea were legit because she didn’t want to ruin her chances at Newman Media. She said that what had been most important to her was not ruining her chances with what she really wanted – Adam.

Adam said he and Sally had to get back to work. Before they left, she wanted to know how it went with Sharon. He said it was hard. Sally didn’t want to pry. Adam said it was fine. He said Sharon was in a lot of pain, and Rey was a good man, so she was struggling. Adam was glad he went to Sharon. Sharon said he was the first one she broke down in front of. Adam sensed that Sally didn’t really want to hear this, but she assured him that she did. She wanted him to feel like he could tell her anything. She said openness was the basis of their relationship. That was why she told him about her terminal illness scam, and she hoped that was why he told her about his. She was here if she needed to talk. He thanked her.

Sally said she wasn’t jealous of Sharon or Chelsea. It might sound cocky, but she was pretty confident in their relationship. Adam said that was good to hear, and this was different for him. At various times, he’d been married and obsessed and destructive and detached but this thing with Sally was different – maybe because it began slowly. It felt right. She asked if he felt guilty because they were happy while Sharon was suffering and alone. He said seeing Sharon may have convinced him that he and Sally were taking things too slowly. It might be why he confessed he was falling in love with her. Life could change in an instant, so he didn’t think they should worry about what other people thought. She agreed and they kissed and fell back on the bed.

Billy and Victoria ran into each other at Crimson Lights. He was glad to see she was walking around. He asked if she was doing okay. She was doing well, all things considered. He brought up Rey’s tragic death, and she said she wished she’d never been on the road, because maybe things would’ve turned out differently. Billy told Victoria that it wasn’t her fault. He did wonder why she was on the road though, since that wasn’t her usual route home. He asked if Ashland had been following her.

Victoria didn’t want to recount the accident anymore. Billy felt like Victoria was trying to avoid him, since she broke down and told him about Ashland’s scam. He asked if she regretted having that talk with him. Smirking, she said she regretted most of her conversations with him. He hoped that wasn’t true. He liked being there for her, which was only fair after the amount of times she’d been there for him over the years. He hoped she knew she could confide in him. She did. He asked if Ashland was still in her life.

Victoria didn’t want to go into detail, but she said Ashland was leaving Newman Locke and they were having the marriage annulled. Billy was relieved. He hoped that meant Victoria finally believed the truth about Ashland and that he was leaving town. Victoria didn’t know. She hadn’t talked to him. He asked if she hadn’t talked to Ashland since the accident. She admitted they talked briefly. He wanted to know how briefly, and she said it was none of his concern. He knew she must be conflicted because Ashland saved her life, but Billy said that didn’t erase the lies. Victoria didn’t want to be psychoanalyzed. He apologized. She thought he was only doing this to say “I told you so.” She knew he warned her and Nick did too. She also knew she should’ve listened to them, but the past was the past, so all she could do was move forward. She got up to leave. Lily walked in and said she was sorry about the accident and hoped Victoria felt better. Victoria’s terse reply was that Lily could ask Billy about it since he seemed to know everything. Victoria left.

Lily asked what was going on. Billy thought Victoria was being sensitive. He swore he didn’t say anything bad to Victoria – he just showed concern for the mother of his children. He said he inadvertently hit a nerve when he brought up Ashland. Lily assumed Victoria didn’t think it was any of Billy’s business and that she didn’t want him looking for ways to blame Ashland. Billy said it was so easy because Ashland was a criminal. Billy thought this situation was going to affect Victoria’s judgment. Lily said Victoria was still the same smart savvy woman. He knew. Lily wondered if he was going to eventually decide that she couldn’t solve her own problems and interfere, whether she wanted him to or not.

Billy said this wasn’t a pattern with him. He never doubted Lily’s ability to solve issues, and he was aware the women in his life were smarter and more capable than him, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t concerned about Ashland. She knew he didn’t trust Ashland. He said it was past that – he had a deep hatred for Ashland – he lied about having cancer, which must strike a chord with Lily. Lily said it did, but she didn’t understand why that meant Billy had to interfere. Billy didn’t think he was doing that. He said he was advising Victoria, and she could choose to listen or not. “Victor is interfering. I’m not that bad,” he said. “Not yet,” she replied. He admitted he and Victor might end up on the same side – doing everything they could to get Ashland out of town. He said that Ashland was still here, despite getting kicked out of the company and having the marriage annulled – he’d been following Victoria the night of the accident. Billy thought Ashland was up to something, maybe plotting revenge.

Lily despised what Ashland did, especially as a cancer survivor. However, she said that she and Billy agreed that he’d let this go, because if he didn’t, he’d fixate on it. “I am asking you for the last time – please stop,” she said.

Billy went to The Grand Phoenix and ran into Ashland.

At Newman Media, Victor called Adam and asked where he was. Nikki came in and asked if Victor had seen Victoria. At that moment, Victoria walked in. Victoria had been avoiding the calls and messages because she didn’t want to be lectured about Ashland. Nikki said that this was about Rey, not Ashland. Victoria didn’t want to get into it. She thought it was clear that the accident was her fault. Nikki revealed that Rey died of a heart attack, that caused the accident. Victoria felt relief, and she felt terrible that this was her first reaction. Nikki thought it was natural to feel relief. Victoria said that this accident was still a tragedy, and it would take a little bit of time for her to put it behind her. Nikki understood that. She wished she could stay, but she had a meeting. Nikki left.

Victoria came to talk to Adam, and since he wasn’t here, she decided to leave. Victor said no, because they needed to have a talk about Adam’s position at Newman Locke. Victoria actually came to tell Adam that his services as CEO were no longer needed. Victor thought that was a mistake. Victoria said she was ready to go back to work. Victor admired that, but he said she had a lot on her plate. He wanted Adam to be co-CEO. He thought it was time for the Newmans to show a united front. Victoria didn’t want or need Adam in the mix. She was doing fine before Ashland came on board, and she’d be fine now. She said she was going to remove Locke’s name from the business and go back to Newman Enterprises. Victor liked that, however, he said they still had to discuss Adam’s role. Victoria said Adam had no role here, and if Victor forced the issue, he had to make a choice between her and Adam.

Victor got worked up because he thought Victoria was acting rashly. She said she knew how she felt. He said she found out Ashland lied, then she nearly got killed in a car accident – two traumas. He asked why she was being so stubborn and refusing Adam’s help. She said her injuries weren’t that severe. He wasn’t just talking about her physical pain. She said Ashland was out of her life. Victor knew Ashland snuck into Victoria’s office. He was sure aAshland would continue to play on Victoria’s emotions, and he wasn’t sure she’d purged herself of him. She got fed up with him second guessing her emotions. She said if he chose Adam, that was fine, but she’d leave and she wouldn’t look back. She headed toward the door. Adam came in and said it was good to see Victoria up and about. He asked what he missed. Victoria said their dad would fill him in. She left.

Victor told Adam they had a problem. Adam assumed Victoria had no interest in him staying on in a leadership role. Victor wanted to discuss that later, because they had an urgent matter to discuss – Diane Jenkins was alive and back in town.

Days of Our Lives Update

Update written by Joseph

Chad and Sonny have breakfast at the DiMera Mansion as Chad fills Sonny in on no one getting married at the double wedding and Leo’s humiliation. Sonny wishes he could have seen Leo’s face when Chad brought in his first husband. Leo then enters the room and declares it looked like this; ready to kill.

Craig sits alone in his hotel room with his cell phone as he officially changes his relationship status on social media to single. There’s a knock at the door. Craig yells for them to go away but it’s Nancy, so he opens the door and asks if she’s here to say “I told you so” because he deserves it.

Xander goes to the Kiriakis Mansion. Maggie rushes up to hug him and says it’s so good to see him. Xander asks how Sarah is. Maggie says she is settling in to the clinic but there hasn’t been any change. Xander knows it must have been hard leaving her like that. Maggie says it was better and asks what Xander is doing here since she thought he and Gwen would be on their honeymoon. Xander reveals there was no honeymoon because there was no wedding.

Gwen sits in the interrogation room at the police station, thinking back to planning her wedding with Xander. Jack then enters the room.

Jennifer is at home, finishing a phone call with Shawn, saying they will be praying that Ciara is found safe and soon. Abigail comes in and asks if the police have any leads at all. Jennifer says no and complains that the world has gone mad as Ciara is missing, Christian Maddox is on the loose, and Allie is possessed by the Devil. Abigail says this might not be a good time but Jennifer wants to know why she came. Abigail thinks back to Gwen whispering to her that she killed her grandmother on purpose. Jennifer asks Abigail what it is. Abigail responds that it’s about Gwen.

Maggie asks Xander what happened and if he’s alright since he was so determined to get married. Xander responds that he couldn’t go through with it because there were things about Gwen that he didn’t know which Maggie questions. Xander tells her it’s about Sarah.

Gwen tells Jack that she wasn’t expecting to see him since he said he was done with her. Jack informs her that this was Jennifer’s idea and warns her not to say anything about Jennifer. Gwen knows he will never believe a word out of her mouth again. Gwen says that she can’t imagine what last night must have been like for him. Jack talks about forgiving Gwen over and over. Gwen acknowledges that she threw that forgiveness back in his face. Jack says last night when he told Gwen that he was done with her, he meant it because he hates what she did, but Jennifer says he won’t be able to pull it off because he can’t do anything about the fact that Gwen is his daughter, so he can’t be done with it. Gwen points out that her mom pulled it off, so she asks why Jack can’t since she’s given him enough reasons. Jack brings up what Gwen did to Abigail and their family and says he can understand why she did it, but what she did to Sarah is unfathomable. Gwen doesn’t expect him to believe her but says the reason she did it was because in a way, The Devil made her do it..

Chad questions how Leo got in to the DiMera Mansion. Leo responds that he told Harold he was the new French maid and asks if it matters. Leo asks if Sonny thought he could do what he did without one final confrontation. Leo complains about Sonny not even showing up at the wedding to look him in the eye. Sonny says he had a work call, otherwise he would not have missed it. Chad argues that Leo is not an innocent victim. Leo remarks about Chad and Abigail blowing up two marriages. Sonny says that what they did was wrong. Leo calls Sonny’s crusade pathetic because Sonny obviously wants him back, which Sonny and Chad laugh at.

Craig tells Nancy to go ahead and enjoy herself as she was right that Leo was a gold digger and he was an utter fool. Craig complains that all of Salem knows what an idiot he is and brings up Nancy saying he would regret the day he let Leo in to his life. Nancy informs him that she came to say she’s sorry.

Gwen tells Jack that trying to explain it would just sound like she’s trying to justify what she did which is not possible. Gwen talks about spending the night in a cell and seeing the way Jack and Xander looked at her whenever she closed her eyes so she didn’t close her eyes all night. Gwen wondered how she made it where it’s impossible for the only two people she cared about to care about her anymore. Gwen talks about Jack coming because he can’t give up on being a father to her. Gwen says she thought about all the things she did to Jack, his family, Abigail, Xander, and to Sarah and Maggie and she realized she did all of that to get what she wanted but she has nothing she wants. Gwen compares it to her mom putting the spike in her arm when someone does something over and over again to ensure they stay the same miserable human being. Gwen says she was telling herself for months that Kristen DiMera blackmailed her in to doing what she was doing but really, she was just like her mother’s drug dealer, and just like her mom did, she put the spike in her own arm.

Chad and Sonny joke about Leo saying that Sonny wants him back. Leo gets in Sonny’s face and says he will never forget what Leo did to him, but he’s ecstatic to play a part in stopping Leo from doing it to anyone else. Leo responds that what he had with Craig was nothing like the dreary time he had with Sonny. Leo remarks that he loved Craig and never even liked Sonny, reminding him that it was a job. Leo calls Sonny not his type and a D- in bed. Leo says he gave Sonny extra credit for effort. Sonny calls that a crock and argues that Leo was very in to it. Leo claims he was faking all of it.

Craig questions what Nancy has to be sorry for when she didn’t do anything. Nancy clarifies that she’s sorry that this happened to him. Nancy knows what it’s like to love someone so much that you ignore the evidence in front of your eyes because it happened to her and now it’s happened to her best friend.

Xander tells Maggie that of all people, he should have been able to see through Gwen’s lies. Maggie doesn’t blame Xander but points out that he did leave Sarah behind the moment he found out she wasn’t going to immediately recover. Maggie admits she’s not being fair but Xander thinks she is. Maggie remembers that she gave her blessing even if she didn’t really mean it. Maggie says she shouldn’t take her anger at Gwen on Xander as he had every right to get on with his life. Maggie adds that they need to figure out what they should do next, now that Sarah wasn’t given the right antidote. Maggie declares that there’s a chance the antidote might work. Xander agrees. Maggie decides to call Kayla but Xander reveals he already has and she believes there’s a good chance the antidote could still work. Xander adds that he asked Chad to reach out to Dr. Rolf again but Rolf apparently got in a trouble with a chemisty experiment gone wrong so he’s in solitary confinement. Maggie declares they have to get a hold of that drug. Xander says he has an idea.

Jack questions Gwen not seeing that she had to tell Xander or Maggie that Kristen was blackmailing her. Gwen was too worried about losing Xander because he loved Sarah more than her. Jack argues that Gwen was carrying all the risk and asks what could’ve happened if Gwen and Ava got caught breaking Kristen out of prison as that carrys a hefty sentence. Gwen remarks that so does murder. Jack questions what she’s talking about.

Jennifer tells Abigail that she’s scaring her and asks her to tell her what it is. Abigail responds that it’s about grandma and it’s hard to even say it. Abigail then reveals to Jennifer that Gwen said to her “I killed that bitch on purpose.”

Leo says the only reason he had anything to do with Sonny was money. Sonny argues that it was the same reason he went after Craig. Leo says maybe in the beginning, but he fell in love with him, and now Craig hates him because of Sonny and Chad. Chad asks if Leo ever takes responsibility for his actions, reminding him that Craig hates him for lying to him over and over again. Sonny reminds Leo that he wouldn’t have even been legally married to Craig, so he could have just come clean with him about having a husband. Leo asks why he cares when Craig isn’t his friend. Leo argues that now Craig is just as miserable as him. Leo says Craig knows what they have is real since he signed the pre-nup, which he never would’ve done if he was only after his money. Chad questions what Leo is doing here as he’s trying to convince the wrong guys. Leo agrees but says since they were so intent on making him pay, he wants them both to know that now it’s his turn.

Craig still can’t believe that Leo has a husband. Nancy jokes about Leo in a dress and encourages Craig, calling him still quite a catch.

Jennifer questions Gwen telling Abigail that she killed Laura on purpose. Jennifer brings up how Gwen kept denying it and insisted it was an accident, so she questions why Gwen would change her story now.

Jack asks why Gwen is talking about murder and what she meant. Gwen covers by saying Abigail talked about what she did being pre-meditated and a second dose of the drug could have killed Sarah. Jack says thank God it didn’t. Gwen points out that she still took Sarah’s life because the Sarah that Xander knew and fell in love with no longer exists. Jack argues that Gwen knew what the drug did to Abigail and what it did to Sarah when Kristen gave it to her. Gwen confirms that she did it with full knowledge. Gwen feels Jack wishes she never existed, like Xander does. Gwen insists that Xander loved Sarah more than her and they both understood that. Gwen states that Xander is the only man she’s ever loved but she’s not the only woman that Xander loved or even the woman he loved best. Gwen adds that Xander left her hanging for weeks, waiting to see if Sarah would recover. Gwen says it’s no excuse but she thinks during those weeks, something inside of her hardened and she kept telling herself over and over that she cannot lose Xander, but now it’s all her fault that she’s lost him. Xander then enters the room, surprising Gwen. Gwen tells him to let her have it. Xander says he’s not here for that or to hear any excuses, he just wants to know what she did with the real antidote. Gwen guesses he wants her to help him get the real Sarah back. Xander argues that he wanted to give her a chance to act like a human being. Gwen asks why start now. Jack tells Gwen not to act like this. Xander just wants an answer and asks what she did with the antidote. Gwen reveals that she still has it, so Xander asks what it will take to get her to tell him where it is.

Abigail tells Jennifer that she’s been wondering the same thing since Gwen kept denying killing Laura even when she was threatening her with the drug, so either she was lying then or lying now. Abigail wonders if she should’ve told Jennifer since she’s still not sure if it’s true.

Nancy admits that a couple weeks ago, the idea of Craig getting dumped at the altar would’ve made her the happiest woman in the world and she would’ve said he got what he deserved, but he’s a good man who made mistakes. Nancy encourages that Craig deserves to be happy. Craig says she does too. Craig remembers Nancy saying something about meeting someone and going on a date. Nancy reveals they were supposed to have dinner last night, but he blew her off. Craig says he’s sorry as they hold hands.

Chad tells Leo not to be so melodramatic. Leo calls himself his worst nightmare and says Chad will rue the day that he screwed him which Chad laughs at. Leo then walks out of the mansion after leaving them with a threat in French which Sonny questions.

Jennifer understands Gwen lying about saying it was an accident to protect herself but doesn’t understand why she would lie about saying it was deliberate as it doesn’t make any sense. Abigail says it was the way she said it and the words she chose. Abigail suggests maybe Gwen was just trying to torment her all over again or something. Jennifer decides there’s only one way to find out.

Jack argues that Gwen just spent the last half hour telling him how much she loves Xander and now he’s miserable and suffering. Jack orders Gwen to tell Xander where the antidote is to maybe undo the damage she has done. Gwen calls it interesting how he put that because Xander asks what it’s going to take to get her to tell him where the antidote is, like if it didn’t even occur to him to just ask her for it because telling him would be the right thing to do. Gwen guesses Xander knows her well enough by now to know she doesn’t do anything unless there is something in it for her. Gwen feels Xander doesn’t think there is one good body in her body and he’s right that there isn’t. Gwen cries that she wants Xander back and asks if they have a deal but Xander says no. Gwen cries that Xander hates her so much that he can’t even lie to protect his precious Sarah. Jack argues for Gwen not to put the spike back in her arm. Gwen says she just needed to know where they stand. Gwen says through all the lies, she did stay true to one thing as she did, does, and will always love Xander. Gwen then agrees to do whatever she can to help him.

Sonny mocks Leo leaving like he did while Chad acknowledges Leo’s threat as being from Louis XV. Sonny looks it up and finds out that it’s an expression of indifference forecasting ruination. Sonny argues that Chad shouldn’t be worried but Chad talks about petty and vindictive Leo can be and now he’s focused on him. Chad thought the whole point of bringing Leo down was to get him out of their lives, so they didn’t have to worry about him anymore. Sonny admits maybe he didn’t think the whole thing through. Chad worries about what Leo will do next. Sonny then sees Chad’s tablet get a news alert that there is news about Chad.

Nancy asks Craig what he will do next. Craig responds that he has absolutely no idea. Nancy asks if Craig is absolutely sure that it’s over between he and Leo. Craig reminds her that Leo was going to swindle him out of everything he owns and wanted to marry him while married to someone else. Nancy points out that Leo is still the guy that brought Craig out of the closet after 30+ years which was life changing. Craig questions if Nancy is sticking up for Leo. Nancy insists she’s just thinking about Craig since Leo really got to him. Craig calls that an understatement. Nancy asks what if Leo is telling the truth that he fell in love with him for real. Craig can’t believe Nancy is saying this. Nancy states that she knows more than anyone what it’s like to be with him and to learn what kind of man he is which leads to love. Nancy suggests maybe Craig got to Leo too. Leo then shows up at his door.

Chad asks Sonny what the news is. Sonny tells him to brace himself as he shows him an article from The Intruder titled “Chad DiMera’s Secret Life” with a photo of him as a drag queen from their time in Arizona and quotes from Leo, claiming that Chad became obsessed with him.

Leo sees Nancy and says he didn’t realize Craig had company. Leo asks if he and Craig can have a moment alone. Nancy points out that they were in the middle of a conversation. Craig thanks Nancy for coming and talking as it means the world to him, but he thinks he has to take care of this. Nancy tells Craig to call her if he needs backup as she then exits the room. Craig then asks Leo what the hell he wants.

Xander returns to the Kiriakis Mansion to inform Maggie that Gwen had the antidote stashed in their hotel room the entire time. Maggie is relieved that he got it. Xander declares that maybe they can save Sarah.

Gwen tells Jack that she supposes Xander found the antidote by now. Jack assures that she did the right thing. Gwen asks if he thinks it will work and Sarah will be Sarah again. Jack responds that he doesn’t know so they will have to wait and see. Gwen hopes it does work but she doesn’t expect Jack to believe that she’s sorry for what she did to Sarah. Jennifer and Abigail then walk in. Jennifer questions if Gwen is sorry that she murdered her mother Laura Horton.

She said she still had the antidote. He wanted to know what it would take to tell him where it was. Jennifer and Abby debated on whether or not Gwen killing Laura was true. Jack told Gwen to tell Xander where the antidote was. Gwen said she thought it was interesting the way Xander put it. She said it never occurred to him to just ask her to do it. He just assumed that there wasn’t one good bone left in her body. She said there wasn’t. She said she wanted him back. He said it wasn’t a deal. She asked if he hated her. He said he did. She said she would always love him despite everything. She said she would do whatever she could to help him.

Recap written by Christine

At Newman Media, Adam was angry that Victoria gave Nikki the co-CEO position that he thought should’ve gone to him. Sally asked if Victor backed Victoria up. While Victoria said that it was a unilateral decision, Adam knew Victor had to have signed off on it. Adam felt like Victor was playing another mind game and leaving Adam out in the cold. Sally noted that Victoria let Ashland get his hooks into the company, and now she was going back to business like she didn’t cause all this chaos. Adam didn’t know why he wasted his time hoping his family would give him a chance. Sally said Adam didn’t need any of them. She suggested he cut ties with the Newmans and strike out on his own.

Adam said he’d done that more than once, and he wasn’t sure he wanted to do so again. He said that Victor had a blind acceptance of Victoria’s leadership, no matter how often she screwed up. He felt like if he walked away, he’d be letting Victoria win. Sally asked if that would be the worst thing. Adam said Victoria refused to acknowledge that he saved her by getting Locke out of the way. He didn’t see why he should give her what she wanted by quitting. Sally said Adam had done way too much to prove himself to his family, and it was never enough. He sarcastically thanked her for rubbing it in. Her point was that he shouldn’t stick around if the Newmans weren’t going to show him the respect he deserved. He asked if he’d really be okay with him quitting his job and leaving her here to deal with her family.

Sally hated hypotheticals. Adam still wanted an answer. Sally said she’d keep her job if he quit, and she’d try to win over his family. He asked why. She said she loved her job, and she had faith they’d be successful wherever they chose to be. She asked if he knew how rare it was to find someone who thought the way you did, who wanted what you want and made you laugh. She asked if he ever met anyone like that. He said yes – once. She smiled. For the first time, Sally felt like she was meeting someone on their level. She said she didn’t need him to be the good or bad version of himself, or what everyone else expected of him. She just wanted him – all of him. He said knowing she was willing to brave his family should make the decision to walk away easier, but it felt different this time. He was older and wiser, and he knew someone had his back. He felt like if he walked away, he’d be giving up. He suggested he might also be falling for his dad’s games and looking for his approval. He wasn’t sure if he could ignore the challenge Victoria threw down by hiring Nikki over him. Sally said if Adam chose to fight, she’d still be here, and if he walked away, she’d stand by him. He took her hand. He said the only thing he had to consider was what was best for himself. She said she’d continue to tell him he deserved better. She kissed him.

Diane had a nightmare that Jack and Kyle had her arrested for child abandonment. Jack accused Diane of leaving Kyle because she didn’t have the patience to raise him. Diane argued that she was a good person now. Jack said she turned her back on Kyle. Diane swore she walked away because it was what was best for Kyle. Diane struggled in the grip of the police officer and begged Kyle for a second chance. The cop told Diane that letting her son think she was dead was as low as it could get. He read her her rights. Kyle snarled that Diane was a liar. Diane begged and pleaded as she was dragged away. She woke up and grabbed her phone.

At the Abbott house, Jack said to Kyle that it wasn’t easy to raise your son to have opinions of his own, then watch him grow up and make decisions that made you a little nervous. Kyle smiled. He knew Harrison would get there, and he was already dreading it. Later, Kyle took one of Harrison’s cookies, and Jack teased him. Kyle said he wouldn’t tell, then he said didn’t want to keep things from his son. He liked to think he didn’t inherit his mother’s bad habits. Every time Kyle closed his eyes, he thought about the awful things Diane did. Kyle said the last time he saw Diane, as a child, before she’d changed his name and sent him away, she promised she was going to join him. Instead, she chose to vanish and let him think she died. Jack asked if Diane shared her reasoning. Kyle said her reasons sounded plausible and rehearsed, like she’d been waiting a long time to say them to him. Kyle wanted to know how Jack felt about this.

Jack had promised himself he wouldn’t interfere and try to influence Kyle. Kyle appreciated that Jack put his own feelings aside, but now Kyle needed to figure out whether he thought Diane really changed into a good person, or if the child in him just wished it was true. Kyle noted that Harrison said dads have all the answers. Jack told Kyle to cherish that. Jack had been puzzling over the same questions Kyle was asking himself. Jack said he’d asked for the benefit of the doubt more times than he could count. He’d tried to put himself in Diane’s shoes and asked himself why he’d leave his child. Kyle said Diane’s original plan, which she’d worked out with Adam, was to fake her own death and take Kyle with her. Jack said Diane claimed she changed her mind because she didn’t want Kyle to grow up living on the run. Jack said Diane knew he would never give up looking for her and Kyle. Kyle thought Diane should’ve come to him and told him that. Jack wasn’t sure Kyle would’ve understood, since he’d been so young. Jack asked if Kyle thought it would’ve been any easier to know that Diane was out there somewhere without him. Jack thought that if Kyle knew all along that Diane was alive and on the run, he would’ve spent his life asking questions, and he would’ve grown into a completely different person. Jack loved the person Kyle became. Jack said maybe, this one time, Diane made the right choice in leaving the way she did.

Jack didn’t condone any of the other things Diane did and he offered up no opinions on her as a person. He said she hurt a lot of people in a lot of ways. Jack wasn’t sure he’d have ever seen Kyle again, if Diane had stuck to her original plan and taken him with her. Jack couldn’t help thinking about his own mother. He’d been so angry at her for leaving him behind. When she returned, he’d wanted to slam the door in her face. It was a miracle that they reconciled, and he found forgiveness and understanding, and it was one of the greatest gifts of his life. Jack wanted that for Kyle. Jack wasn’t saying Diane changed, but he believed the decision to leave Kyle was the toughest one she ever made in her life. He knew that wasn’t the simple answer Kyle wanted from him, but there was nothing simple about this. Kyle said it would be cool if they could run a simulation of what a future with his mother would look like. Jack asked how they’d do that. Kyle said they’d put Diane through the full Abbott test.

Diane got a text from Kyle inviting her over to the house.

Billy met Lily at Society. She heard his podcast, which was called the Grinning Soul. He asked if he was in the doghouse. She said she was concerned. He said the numbers for the podcast were good, and he’d altered his voice and kept the names and locations anonymous. Lily said people close to the situation would know the podcast was about Ashland. “If the sociopathic shoe fits,” Billy replied.

Billy said the point of the podcast was to give him an outlet to discuss the things he shouldn’t publicly comment on. Lily wasn’t sold on the idea of two Billys being better than one. He said Billy 1 was her right hand man, while Billy 2 was an untamed rebel. Lily loved the idea of an anonymous podcast, but she noted that he had a confrontation with Ashland, then he immediately talked about it on his podcast. She was sure anyone could connect the dots. He was sure the average listener wouldn’t figure out that it was Ashland. Lily liked the message the podcast sent, but she told Billy not to be surprised if people, like Victoria, figured out he was the Grinning Soul.

Billy reminded Lily that she requested they not talk about Victoria. Lily asked how Victoria would look if people figured out the stories were about her. Billy thought people would see her as sympathetic – a loving partner deceived by the most heinous of men. He hoped Victoria would appreciate the fact that he wasn’t personally getting involved in her problems. Lily asked what if Ashland figured out Billy was behind the podcast. Billy hoped Ashland did figure it out. Billy wished he could see the look on Ashland’s face when he realized he was the monster under the bed and that everyone was recoiling at lies he perpetrated his entire life. Billy said Ashland needed to know actions had consequences.

Lily was angry that Ashland profited from lying about cancer, but she didn’t like the idea of Billy possibly losing his platform because he wasn’t being careful about how he was disseminating this information. He didn’t think the podcast would be a blip on Victoria’s radar, since she had other things on her mind. Jack called Billy and summoned him to the Abbott house. Billy suggested he was in the middle of something. Jack said nothing was more important than supporting Kyle. Traci, Ashley and Abby were already on their way. Billy said he’d be there as soon as he could. Billy told Lily about the family meeting. She reminded him that there was a Chancellor-Winters meeting. He asked if he could get a pass on it, but she said she needed her COO. He said he’d just meet his family later, since Lily and Chancellor-Winters were his top priority.

Adam and Sally rented a hotel suite and were headed upstairs when Adam saw Diane. He welcomed her to the resurrection club. She expected him to be more shocked to see her. He said that his father let him know. He noted that she’d left town in a way that implicated him in her death. He’d wanted to send her a Bite Me card, but he didn’t know the address to Hell. She said she regretted many things about that time. He asked how she could look at herself in the mirror. At the time, she’d justified her actions by telling herself that Adam was very resourceful, though she knew that wasn’t an excuse. He said half the people in the town wanted her dead back then, so it was impressive when they all thought she died. He said the rule of resurrection club was not to come back once you escaped. Sally silently took in all this information, with an intrigued look.

Sally walked up and introduced herself as Adam’s coworker. Diane assumed things had progressed beyond that since Adam and Sally were headed upstairs. Adam said Diane had nerve – coming to town and staying in Phyllis’s hotel. Diane said he was here for Kyle, not to cause trouble. Adam noted that he and Diane made a plan for her to start a new life with Kyle, but instead, she’d abandoned her son. Diane didn’t try to justify what she did. She wasn’t proud of her past actions, and she thought Adam could understand that. He said she wasn’t above taking potshots and her former co-conspirator. Diane wasn’t doing that – she’d kept up with things in Genoa City, and she knew he’d worked hard t turn over a new leaf. She just wanted what everyone gave him – a second chance. He hoped that was true. He didn’t have the same kind of beef with her that everyone else did. He wished her luck. She left.

Sally and Adam went upstairs to their room and kissed and disrobed. Later, they cuddled in bed, and he asked how she was so perfect. He didn’t mean her beautiful face or her body. He said that she didn’t bombard him with questions about Diane. She said she knew he’d tell her when the time was right. He asked if she was ready. She was more than ready – she’d been dying to know more from the moment she heard about Diane. He said Diane was driven and obsessed, and she’d stop at nothing to get what she wanted, but not in a good way, like Sally. He said he and Diane worked together to make it look like Victor was dead to drive down the price of Newman stock, and they made a sizable profit. He agreed to help her evade Jack and start a new life with her son. He did a lot of things he wasn’t proud of, but he thought that scheme was semi-noble. He was a wrok in progress. He was glad Sally was in his corner – it was nice being with someone who was meeitng him on his level. She asked what he was going to do about his family’s latest move. He wasn’t sure. She said she’d take this ride with him. They kissed.

Traci, Ashley and Abby arrived at the Abbott house. Kyle and Jack explained that Diane was on her way. Ashley couldn’t believe Diane would have the nerve to come to town, let alone to this house. Kyle said she’d already been here. It wasn’t his first time seeing his mother. Ashley vowed to make sure this was his last time seeing Diane. Abby never would’ve come if she’d known Diane was coming. That was why Jack didn’t tell her. Kyle explained that Diane claimed she changed and she wanted forgiveness. Ashley hoped Kyle knew that Diane was lying. Abby asked how Kyle felt about this. Ashley was sure Diane just wanted to use Kyle. Kyle wasn’t sure what to think. Abby suggested that Diane wanted to do the right thing. Jack said Diane had made a compelling case for herself. Ashley scoffed. Jack shared Ashley’s skepticism, but he noted that he and his sisters knew what it was like to be estranged from their mother. Ashley ordered Jack not to go there. “I know our mother was a piece of work but she’s nothing compared to Diane,” Ashley argued. Traci stepped in to keep the peace and apologized to Kyle. Abby said they all wanted to support Kyle, no matter what he chose. Ashley apologized and asked how Kyle was feeling. He didn’t know if Diane was lying, and that was why he called all of them here. It was one thing for Diane to feed Kyle a bunch of rehearsed lines, but it was another to have to face him and his family. Kyle wanted to see how Diane handled herself with the people who’d seen her at her worst and see if she’d sincerely changed.

Diane was running late, and Ashley hoped that meant she’d gotten kicked out of town. Jack told Ashley to be nice. Kyle added that he didn’t want them to bombard Diane with old grievances, because that wasn’t going to get them anywhere. Abby loathed Diane too, but she said athey were here to help Kyle discover the truth. Ashley said they’d help Kyle when he realized his mother was heartless. Ashley said Diane’s soul was a deep dark abyss, and she didn’t believe Diane transformed.

Diane arrived, and she was startled when she saw everyone waiting for her. “Welcome back, bitch” Ashley said. Diane took it in stride. Traci greeted Diane in a more neutral way. Kyle said that if he was going to let Diane back in his life, it was going to affect his entire family. Diane had no desire to cause any problems with the Abbotts. Kyle said that her presence affected all of them, and they’d have to decide whether they thought she was a different person now.

Recap written by Christine

Noah joined Mariah on the Crimson Lights patio. Mariah asked about Sharon. He said that she wasn’t eating much, but when he left, Nick had come by to make her breakfast. According to Noah, Faith said she could hear Sharon pacing around the house last night. Mariah said that if anyone could get Sharon to eat it was Nick. Mariah was working on a playlist for the wedding, and it was hard to narrow it down. Noah suggested asking Sharon to help, since she could use the distraction. Mariah doubted that would work, but she said she’d think about it. Tessa came in with good news – her sister Crystal could come to the wedding. Mariah was confused because Tessa helped Crystal flee to Canada. Tessa said all the charges against Crystal were dropped, and Zack’s last known associate from the sex trafficking ring was arrested. Crystal could come and go as she pleased now. Tessa said not only was Crystal safe, the way it happened was even more amazing.

Sharon came downstairs in sweats and found Nick in her living room. He offered her breakfast. She wasn’t hungry, but he told her he already started making his famous chocolate chip pancakes, and he knew she couldn’t resist. She smiled sadly. Later, Nick gently called Sharon out on barely eating her food, instead just moving it around on her plate. She told him he didn’t have to treat her like one of his kids. Noah, Mariah and Tessa showed up. Tessa shared that Crystal could be the maid of honor at the wedding. Tessa said it was a miracle, because Rey was instrumental in making this happen. Tessa explained that, according to Crystal, Rey found her case in the cold case files, and he went to Michael and convinced him that there wasn’t enough evidence to convict her. Michael went to the DA and got him to drop the charges. Sharon said that was amazing, but she asked what about the dangerous group that was after Crystal. Tessa said Rey tracked down the last of that group and arrested him, so Crystal was safe. Sharon was moved. She had no idea Rey had been working the case. Tessa wondered if he wanted it to be a surprise. Nick suggested that Rey didn’t say anything because he didn’t want to get everyone’s hopes up. Sharon said even now, Rey was here protecting them. She thought his last gesture proved even more profoundly what an amazing man he was.

Sharon wanted to hold a small memorial service to Rey, but she’d need all their help to do it. She wanted to do it before she accompanied Rey to Miami. Mariah noted that that was tomorrow. Sharon knew, so she wanted to do it today. She thought Rey’s family in Genoa City should pay tribute to him before she brought him to his other home. She got choked up, and Nick said that they’d absolutely help.

Inside Crimson Lights, Ashland approached Victoria and asked if it was okay to ask how she was doing. She said she was stronger every day – the human capacity to recover was astounding. He knew he was one of many things she was recovering from. He said her fortitude was a large part of what made him fall in love with her. He was just sorry he was the reason she had to rely on it so much now. She looked at his bandaged hand, and he told her not to worry – he was recovering quite nicely. She sniped that he had a knack for miraculous recoveries. She wondered why he was still in town. She hoped he wasn’t under the delusion that she was going to forgive him. He said it was hard for him to let go of that, almost as hard as pretending he didn’t love her.

Victoria was sure Ashland would find a way to let go, since he was the master of reinvention, and he had the means to do so, thanks to her father’s money. He didn’t have the will or strength to reinvent himself again. She told him to stop making this so hard on them both. She said that if he really loved her, he should take his blood money and leave town. She hurried toward the door, where she ran into Adam, who apparently wanted to talk about the co-CEO position. She said there was nothing to discuss. She was appointing her mother. He wanted to have a conversation, and she said it would be a waste of time. He wondered what their dad would have to say. She said it didn’t matter, since this was her decision. She left. Ashland watched the whole interaction from a distance.

Ashland said that he and Adam looked pathetic, like a couple of lapdogs hoping Victoria would give them what they deserved. Adam didn’t know what Ashland was talking about. Ashland assumed Adam still thought he should be co-CEO of Newman Locke, or temporary CEO, or whatever fake title he was trying to grovel for. Adam said that the Locke name had been jettisoned from the company, and it was all Newman now. Ashland knew Victoria well enough to know she wouldn’t let Adam retain any title or power in her company. Adam said that Victoria hired Nikki. Adam guessed he and Ashland both got screwed, but he added that he was still head of the newly expanded Newman Media, while Ashland just had Victor’s money to keep him warm.Ashland stood by his original comparison – Victoria rejected them both. Adam didn’t want to be compared to Ashland. He said Ashland broke Victoria’s spirit. Ashland said he signed a deal Adam presented behind Victoria’s back. Adam said Ashland was never going to cleanse his actions in Victoria’s heart, so he should give up trying. Adam left. Ashland texted Nick asking to meet.

Back at the cottage, Nick told everyone about his text from Ashland. Nick had no interest in meeting Ashland. He wanted to stay and plan the memorial. Sharon thought Nick should go and find out what Ashland wanted. She appreciated him being there for her this morning, and she assured him she’d be fine, since she had the kids with her. He replied and set up a meeting at Society. he left. Sharon booked the church. She didn’t want anything formal or sad. She wanted the service to be quietly joyful, like Rey. She asked Tessa to sing one of Rey’s favorite songs, and she said yes. Noah was going to make a slide show. Sharon wasn’t sure she was ready to make a speech. She wondered if that was terrible. Mariah and Noah assured her it was fine. Noah went to a memorial service that set aside a time for quiet contemplation, and anyone who felt compelled to speak could. Sharon said Rey would really love that idea. She felt lucky and blessed to have such a strong, supportive and talented family.

Tessa and Mariah were back at Crimson Lights. they couldn’t believe Rey was gone and that they were moving forward with the wedding while they were still so devastated. Tessa was grateful they could be there for Sharon. Sharon had said the memorial was part of her process of letting go.

Sharon was home alone. She went to the wedding photo and told Rey she missed him so much and felt his spirit in every room. When she came home, she expected him to be there, and when she heard a noise, she thought it was him, then she’d remember that he was gone. His coffee cup was still sitting by the sink, where he left it. She couldn’t bring herself to put it away. She hoped he didn’t suffer, and she hoped he knew how loved he’d always be. She knew his spirit would always be with her. She could just see him smiling at her. She said he’d been disinterested in her obsession with finding the perfect wedding gift, because he already had something in the works. Smiling through tears, she said she should be mad at him for keeping that secret, but she could never be mad at him again. She remembered the pep talks he used to give her when she was sick. She wasn’t sure how she’d manage without her precious husband, but she resolved to find a way.

Victoria went to work and stopped short when she saw a new portrait of herself hanging on the wall. Nikki entered and said Victor had it commissioned and put a rush on it. Her parents understood why she destroyed the one Locke commissioned, but they thought it needed to be replaced. Nikki said Ashland may have broken Victoria’s heart, but he didn’t destroy her spirit or strength of leadership. Victoria appreciated the gift, but she was surprised Victor did that for her after he’d been determined to shove Adam down her throat as co-CEO, basically saying he’d lost confidence in her. Nikki said that wasn’t true. Victor accepted that Nikki would take the position, though the was disappointed there was antagonism between Adam and Victoria. Victoria was surprised that Victor wasn’t going to fight her on this. Nikki said Victoria had been through a lot, and Victor wanting to bring in a co-CEO had nothing to do with a lack of confidence – he just wanted her to have the time and space to deal with everything that happened.

Chelsea met Chloe at Crimson Lights. Chelsea was late. She didn’t sleep well last night. Chloe thought it was clear that Rey’s death was hitting Chelsea harder than she wanted to admit. Chelsea said of course it was affecting her – Rey was one of her best friends. Chloe understood, but she said Chelsea had to pull herself together for herself and for Connor. Chelsea said Connor still felt guilty, even though they told him that Rey’s heart attack would’ve happened no matter what. Chelsea thought Connor was too young to understand. Chloe asked how this was affecting Connor’s behavior. Chelsea said Connor quit hockey. She thought he felt like he didn’t deserve to enjoy it anymore. Chloe was sympathetic. Chelsea asked Noah to take Connor to play at the rink. She wanted Connor to understand that Rey would want him to play. Chloe asked how Chelsea was dealing with her own guilt. Chloe knew Chelsea and Rey were friends, but Chelsea’s reaction went much deeper than that.

Chelsea got defensive and said she and Rey were just friends, so of course it was affecting her deeply. She asked if Chloe was saying she was wrong to feel that way. Chloe wasn’t judging; she just didn’t realize Chelsea and Rey were that close. Chelsea said Rey was supportive when he should’ve hated her – he accompanied her and Connor to visit her mom, and when they got back, he’d seek her out just to check on her. Rey and Chelsea had deep conversations, and he encouraged and inspired her. He bonded with Connor and convinced her she could turn her life around. He told her she was a god mom even after the terrible things she did. He gave her hope she’d be accepted again. That car crash and heart attack ripped that hope away. Chloe knew Chelsea well, and she suspected Chelsea was falling in love with Rey. Chelsea vehemently denied it. She said Rey was happily married to Sharon, and it was his loyalty that made him trustworthy and such a great friend. Chloe was talking about feelings, not actions – she wasn’t accusing Chelsea of doing anything. Chelsea put a stop to the conversation, and they began to talk business.

Ashland arrived at Society. “Look at him. Alive and well wile a good man like Rey is gone,” Chelsea griped to Chloe. Chloe said that Rey’s death wasn’t Ashland and Victoria’s fault. Chelsea wondered if Ashland went back to help Rey. The news made Ashland sound like a hero for rescuing Victoria, but did even try to help Rey, or give him CPR? Maybe Rey could’ve been saved. Chloe told Chelsea to stop fixating on that night. Chelsea got even more tense because she thought Chloe was accusing her of being obsessed. Chloe said to relax – she wasn’t diagnosing Chelsea, but she thought Chelsea was close to going over the edge. Chloe thought Chelsea’s feelings were natural, but Chloe was trying to interrupt this unhealthy cycle before it went further. Chelsea admitted that Chloe was right. Chelsea decided to go home and sleep before they met with Lauren later.

Nick went to Society and met Ashland at the bar. Ashland appreciated Nick coming. Nick was there to find out if he needed to protect his sister or the rest of his family from Ashland. Nick said he’d prefer Ashland coming to him from now on instead of upsetting Victoria more than he already had. Ashland said he had something of great importance and benefit to offer Nick, no strings attached. Ashland wanted to donate half the money he received from Victor to New Hope. Ashland said Nick could use it for whatever the community needed. Nick found it hard to believe Ashland was offering him two hundred and fifty million dollars no strings attached. He said Ashland could go straight to hell. Ashland asked if Nick was so proud and stubborn that he’d turn his back on a quarter of a billion dollars. Ashland’s one caveat was that all the work be done in Rey’s name. Ashland was ready to transfer the money to New Hope right now. Nick said he didn’t respond well to bribery, and he didn’t like dealing with people like him. Nick said Ashland was looking for redemption, and the payoff wasn’t worth the risk. Ashland asked if Nick was going to prioritize his hatred of Ashland over the needs of his own organization. Nick thought Ashland was pulling a clever move – Ashland knew that if Nick turned the money down, the community would miss out, but if he accepted it, he’d be complicit in Ashland’s attempt to absolve himself. Ashland said to think about it. Nick left.

Nick went to Newman Enterprises and told Victoria and Nikki about Ashland’s offer. Nikki was appalled that Ashland was trying to take advantage of Rey’s death to clear his name. Nick was going to turn Ashland down and make it clear that he couldn’t buy his way back into everyone’s good graces. Victoria thought that Nick should take the money. Nick was concerned Victoria was falling for this ploy. Victoria said Ashland was never going to be able to buy back her forgiveness, but she thought that they should put the money to good. Nick said they couldn’t use dirty money. Victoria thought it was worth it to use the money to do good in Rey’s name.

Recap written by Christine

At Newman Media, Adam was surprised to hear Diane was alive. He asked how she pulled this off and why she was back. Victor said Diane claimed she wanted to reunite with Kyle, but he didn’t know her true motives. Sally walked in and wanted to know what was going on. Adam told her that Kyle’s mother was actually alive. Sally asked if this was this Jack’s ex wife. Adam said it never got that far, but Diane married Victor, and she dated Nick. Victor put a stop to the history lesson. He said Diane was dangerous, and he told Adam to stay away from her, lest she try and use their connection to wrangle something out of him. Sally was curious about Adam and Diane’s connection. He said they didn’t really have one. Adam assured his father he had no interest in Diane. He shifted gears and asked about Victor and Victoria’s conversation. Victor said Victoria wasn’t very fond of Adam.

Adam didn’t know why Victoria saw him as a threat. Victor said that Adam bore some responsibility for that. Victor acknowledged that Adam’s brilliant idea to pay Ashland bought them some time, but Adam went behind Victoria’s back to do it. Sally said that if Adam had consulted to Victoria, she would’ve shot down his idea. Victor thought that was probably true. Adam thought the important thing was that they all worked together to neutralize Ashland. Victor said he encouraged Victoria to make Adam co-CEO, but she said she’d rather resign. Adam and Sally shared a look.

Sally suggested calling Victoria’s bluff. Sally found it hard to believe Victoria would give up on her dream job just because she had to share it with her smart capable brother. “Have you met my sister?,” Adam replied. Victor said the last thing they needed was a public conflict over control of the company. Adam asked if that meant there was no chance for him to advance and if all the ideas he had for the company were just going to die. Victor said Adam had to show Victoria that he was loyal to her and convince her that he had good ideas.

After Victor left, Adam admitted he’d been kind of thrown by the Diane thing. Sally noted that, like Diane, Adam also used to be dead. Adam said there were quite a few similarities between Diane and the man he used to be. Sally was eager to hear more, but Adam said they’d talk about it another time. He wanted to talk about Victoria. He’d miscalculated; he thought Victor was going to be ready to throw Victoria in the penalty box for the mess she created with Ashland. Sally thought it made sense that Victor was protective of Victoria, considering he almost lost her in the car accident. Sally said the bright side was that Victor had Adam’s back and was championing him to Victoria. She said he just had to win Victoria over. He said Victoria was stubborn – it was a Newman trait. She said he was charming and persuasive, so those must be Newman traits too.

At The Grand Phoenix, Billy assumed Ashland was staying at the hotel because Victoria threw him out. Ashland sarcastically praised Billy’s power of deduction. Billy asked why Ashland was still in town. Ashland had his reasons, which were none of Billy’s business. Billy told Ashland to stay the hell away from Victoria. Ashland said it was abundantly clear that Billy was still in love with Victoria. Ashland wondered if Lily had noticed and if she resented the fact that Billy kept barging in to protect his ex. Billy said he and Lily were fine, and he wasn’t worried about Victoria’s ability to deal with Ashland. Billy warned Ashland that he was playing with fire. Ashland stated that Victoria was not nearly as angry with him as Billy thought. Billy asked what about Victor – the one who stood there and watched Ashland gasp for air as he was having a heart attack, and that was before Ashland admitted to tricking Victoria. Billy said Ashland was on the top of Victor’s hit list, and that was not a fun place to be.

Billy went home and recorded his anonymous podcast about a run in he had today with a greedy, manipulative business mogul. Billy said it was like this guy didn’t trust his own business acumen, so he had to lie and deceive to get the upper hand. This person might get away with what they did. Billy said that if wealth and power gave a person blanket immunity, it was an indictment on them all.

At the Abbott house, Jack saw Diane’s voicemail but didn’t listen to it. Kyle came downstairs and said Harrison was playing with his new BFF Traci. Kyle appreciated Jack and Phyllis spending time with Harrison while Kyle was getting his bearings. Jack said it was their pleasure. Kyle wasn’t sure what to do about his mom. Jack stated that Diane took years to contemplate things before she sprung all this on Kyle, so Kyle should take all the time he needed. Jack offered to be a sounding board. Kyle wanted to take Jack up on that in the future, but he’d already spent a lot of time talking to Traci and Mariah today. Kyle had a lot of questions, and there was only one person who could answer them. Jack offered to go with Kyle, but Kyle thought Diane would be more forthcoming if they talked one on one. Jack agreed, and Kyle left. Ashland called Jack and asked if they could meet.

Kyle went to Diane’s suite. He saw she was packing up. She said she was leaving to give him space, unless he had a change of heart. He was just there to get some answers. He asked how he could know she really changed. Diane didn’t expect Kyle to trust or believe her. She said she deceived him when he was growing up, because she wanted him to see the kind and loving version of herself. He said it worked, because he’d thought she was the best mom ever. She’d been so angry with Phyllis when he read that expose she wrote about Diane’s exploits. Kyle had never been able to reconcile what he read with the version of Diane that he knew. He said she blackmailed people, committed arson and destroyed relationships and never seemed to care. She said he’d seen both sides of her now. She told him to ask her anything.

Kyle asked what kind of work Diane did on herself. She said she found a psychologist who called her out on her crap and forced her to look at herself. He asked how it went. She admitted she’d been offended and indignant for the first year of sessions, but deep down, she knew what the psychologist was saying she was true. Diane had to admit she wasn’t a victim, she was a narcissist. She realized that none of the things she was so desperate to get – money, attention, affection and power ever came to her. Her behavior left her broke, invisible and alone. Worst of all, it cost her the one pure unselfish joy she’d ever known – her life with her beautiful son. The realization was crushing, but it was the first step on the road that brought her back to him, asking for forgiveness. He appreciated what she was saying, but he asked what would happen if all the work she did didn’t get her what she wanted.

Diane said nothing would happen if Kyle turned her down – she’d leave him alone. He was skeptical. She said he mattered to her more than anything, and she’d learned the hard way that she shouldn’t try and force people to give her something she didn’t deserve. She said he didn’t owe her a thing. She’d love it if he forgave her and gave her a place in his life. She’d also try and make up for the hurt and damage she caused. He wasn’t sure if that was possible. He said it wasn’t that he didn’t want what she wanted – she was his mom and she loved him. He was wondering if the version of her he remembered was real or if it was just an act she put on because she needed the admiration of someone who was too young to know better. She said her love for him was never an act. He thought he was willing to leave the door open and give her a chance to prove she was who she said she was. “Please don’t go back to LA,” he asked. Diane was moved. She went to hug Kyle, then she thought better of it and pulled back.

Jack and Ashland met at Society. Jack said he was in the middle of a family emergency, so he couldn’t stay long. He assumed this was about Harrison. Ashland guessed that Jack hadn’t spoken to his brother and heard the news. Concerned, Jack asked if this was about Ashland’s health – had he taken a turn for the worse? Ashland cryptically said that he’d done some reprehensible things that came back to bite him, and deservedly so. He wanted to shield Harrison from the fallout. Jack asked Ashland to stop dancing around the subject and just say what he did.

Jack was stunned when Ashland said he lied to everyone and he never had cancer. Ashland was disgusted with himself for his cruelty. Jack didn’t care how Ashland felt – he was concerned about Victoria. Jack lived through the death of a spouse, and he had some idea of the anguish Victoria had been preparing for, just to find out it was a hoax. Ashland began to explain that he genuinely fell in love with Victoria. Jack didn’t want to hear it and he was sure Victoria didn’t either. Ashland said he agreed to annul the marriage and leave the company. Jack hoped Ashland was going back to NY and would leave Victoria alone forever. Ashland didn’t want to leave town without seeing Harrison, and he was worried about how Kyle and Summer would take the news. “You damn well should be,” Jack replied.

Ashland admitted his behavior had been abhorrent, but he said he was a good father. Jack countered that Ashland lied to Harrison about being sick. Ashland stated that there were two people in this world that he loved – Victoria and Harrison. He knew his wife might not forgive him, but he couldn’t lose his son. He said he’d do whatever it took to keep that boy in his life. Jack wondered why Ashland thought Jack would help him. Ashland said he and Jack were at an age where they’d seen a lot of life, and they knew people were complex, not black and white. Jack had heard enough of this sick and twisted reasoning lately, and he was done. Ashland decided he’d talk to Kyle himself. Jack warned him that this was not a good time to go to Kyle seeking forgiveness. He left.

Kyle went back to the Abbott house and told Jack he was still conflicted about Diane, but he was going to give her a chance to prove himself to her. Jack’s eyes widened.

Victoria summoned Nikki to the office to talk about Victor. She said Victor suggested Adam take Ashland’s position as co-CEO. Victor framed it as a response to Victoria’s supposedly fragile emotional state, which infuriated her. Sighing, Nikki said sometimes Victor wasn’t the most tactful. Victoria felt insulted. Nikki understood that, but she suggested Victoria’s anger should be directed at Ashland. Victoria said Ashland wasn’t a threat anymore, but Adam was. Nikki said Adam was a big reason Ashland was no longer a threat. Victoria said Adam used a half a billion dollars of Victor’s money to make it happen, and that didn’t entitle him to be co-CEO. Nikki wanted the family unit to remain strong. Victoria said she’d quit if Victor made Adam co-CEO.

Victoria said her brother was a snake who’d been looking for ways to undermine her ever since he agreed to come work for her. Appointing him co-CEO would make things worse. Nikki said Victor saw things differently. Victoria replied that Victor always had a soft spot, or a blind spot, for Adam. Nikki admitted Adam had been successful running Newman Media and had proven he could be a reliable family member. Victoria asked if Nikki was arguing that Adam should be co-CEO. Nikki said no, she was just stating facts. Victoria thought Victor would be satisfied if she hired a co-CEO who he could agree was better than Adam. Nikki didn’t think Victoria would be able to find anyone who fit that bill. “I’m looking at her,” Victoria replied.

Nikki didn’t know how to respond to the offer. Victoria hoped she’d accept, since she was the only one Victoria trusted to be her co-CEO. Nikki didn’t like the idea of being a pawn in Victoria’s game with her father. Victoria said Victor would have to agree Nikki was the most qualified and experienced candidate, since she’d been Victoria’s COO from the very beginning, and she was family. Victoria told Nikki to envision herself as co-CEO. Victoria was sure Nikki would be brilliant. Victoria added that Nikki could lighten Victoria’s workload, since Nikki always said Victoria worked too hard. Nikki was happy to take some of the work off Victoria’s plate, but she got the feeling this would be a promotion in name only, just to fend off Adam. Victoria said this was a sincere offer, and they’d have so much fun if they were partners. Nikki thought they had to think of the possible repercussions. Victoria was sure that there were no downsides. Nikki said Adam wouldn’t be happy, since he thought he deserved more responsibility and Victor agreed.

Nikki asked if they really wanted to create more family drama just as the news about Ashland was going to break. Victoria wasn’t going to let Adam’s possible potential hurt feelings dictate her decision. She hoped they could keep the reasons for Ashland’s departure from becoming public knowledge. Nikki was convinced it was going to come out very soon. She thought they should prepare for that by presenting a united front to the world. Victoria said if she caved in to Adam, he’d continually try to sabotage her, she’d have to play defense and the family would have to choose sides, and it would end in warfare and an absolute disaster for the family and the business.

After Nikki left, Adam went to Victoria’s office and asked to talk. He said he was surprised that Victor asked her to promote him as co-CEO. He said if he’d known he would’ve asked Victor to hold off until Adam and Victoria had a conversation. He wanted to convince her that he could make a good partner. She asked if he was going to offer him 500,000,000 of someone else’s money in exchange for a promotion. He said that the company had almost doubled since the acquisition of Ashland’s business holdings, and she was going to need help. He knew they’d never been close, and that she didn’t trust him. He said no matter how much he tried to support her, there was too much history in the way. He asked what he could do to change that and show her that working together could be a positive thing.

Victoria said it didn’t matter how Victor pitched her the idea of promoting Adam, because she was never going to agree to it. She agreed that her workload was going to increase now that Ashland was out of the picture. Adam said he didn’t need a title – he’d happily pitch in so she could see how well they’d work together. Victoria didn’t mean to imply that she needed Adam’s help. She informed him that she’d already hired someone she could trust – the only logical choice – her mother.

Nikki met Victor at Crimson Lights and told him that Victoria offered her the co-CEO job. Nikki thought that it made sense for her to step into the position. Victor said it was a smart move on Victoria’s part. Nikki said they both knew it was a strategic move to keep Adam out, but she said she’d do an excellent job. He was sure she would. He wasn’t going to fight Victoria on hiring Nikki. He said if he imposed his will on Victoria, she’d be very upset, and if he preferred Adam over her, he’d never hear the end of it. He took Nikki’s hands and called her Madame CEO.

Recap written by Christine

Chance came home after a rough day at work – he’d just had to tell Sharon the autopsy results. He told Abby that Rey had a heart attack, causing him to lose control of the car. He said there was nothing anyone could’ve done – Rey’s fate was sealed the night he said goodbye to Sharon, and he had no idea he’d never see her again. Abby felt bad for Rey’s family. She knew it took a toll on Chance too. He said Rey helped him multiple times in multiple ways. Rey was Chance’s best friend. Abby didn’t want Chance to let the sadness and grief of the tragedy overwhelm him, like Spain. Someone rang the doorbell, and Abby wanted Chance to send them away, so this talk could continue. Chance went to the door – it was Victor.

Victor was informed about Rey’s heart attack. He thought it was terrible, and he asked how Sharon was doing. Chance said the news hit her hard, but at least she had a definitive explanation. Victor asked if Victoria knew. She didn’t. Chance had called, but she didn’t pick up. Victor said he’d let her know. Abby said that Victor couldn’t just rush off. She asked why he came. He wanted to see the baby. She said it wasn’t a good time, as he was napping. Victor decided to wait until his grandson woke up and have a chat with Chance in the meantime. Abby went upstairs to check Dominic. Victor wanted to see how Chance was doing after losing his partner. Chance said that the loss stirred up some of the same feelings he had after the explosion. He was managing, but Abby saw how this was weighing on him, and it worried her. Victor said that this was a reminder to embrace life with his beautiful wife and son. Victor said this would help Chance heal, and more importantly, be strong, because he never knew when his wife would need to lean on him.

Chance thanked Victor for the wisdom and said he needed it. Victor was proud of how Chance, Abby and Devon came together for Dominic. Victor couldn’t wait for Dom to be old enough to share sports stories with. Abby came down and said the baby was awake, so Victor went up to see him. Abby was pleased to see a smile on Chance’s face. His talk with Victor helped. Victor came downstairs and marveled at how much Dom had grown. Abby was going to walk her dad out, but he told her to stay with her husband. He left. Abby hugged Chance.

Chance didn’t want Abby to be scared for him. He was processing Rey’s death, but he wasn’t going to fall apart this time. He’d grieve and miss his friend dearly, but he promised it wouldn’t be like before. She asked if he was sure. He said he was s much stronger now. He vowed to be the husband and father she needed him to be. He knew how lucky he was to have her and Dom, and he wouldn’t waste a minute they had together by shutting down. He was going to show both of them how much he loved them. She kissed him.

Jack and Phyllis were at Crimson Lights. He was worried about the meeting between Kyle and Diane. He hoped Kyle would cancel. He was concerned he’d made a big mistake facilitating this meeting, and if he had, Kyle would pay the price. Jack said Diane was manipulative, and Kyle would be vulnerable because she was his mom. Phyllis was sure Jack did the right thing. He thanked her for the support and perspective. She said she was very mature. He knew she was joking, but he thought that was true lately.

Phyllis asked what Jack would do if Kyle wanted a relationship with Diane. Jack said he’d urge Kyle to give this some thought, but ultimately, he’d have to honor Kyle’s wishes and tell Kyle to proceed with caution. Phyllis knew that if Summer saw that Diane’s motives were less than pure, she’d have a long talk with Kyle, and she’d get in Diane’s face and tell her to back off. Jack asked what if, by some miracle, Diane really changed. He wondered if they should give her the benefit of the doubt. Phyllis was completely against that. She wondered where this was coming from, since he had a different opinion two seconds ago. “So you get to play Devil’s advocate, but I don’t?,” he asked. He said his mother abandoned three children, not one, and when she came back into their lives, they were able to reconcile. Jack and Dina made an emotional connection with Dina that had been missing his whole life. As absurd as it seemed, he hoped the same could be true for his son. He said a love for a child could change someone. He said they were making assumptions about someone they knew years ago. Phyllis argued that present day Diane sent a bunch of cryptic texts to Jack. He noted that Diane helped him meet his granddaughter. Phyllis said Diane chose to do it a creepy and cryptic and duplicitous way. Jack agreed with that, but he said that the end result was positive. Phyllis said Diane planned for Jack to see it that way, and it worked. Jack wasn’t grateful to Diane, but he couldn’t discount the possibility that some of what she said about her personal development was true. Phyllis understood that Jack was trying to put a positive spin on the possibility of Kyle giving Diane a chance. However, Phyllis couldn’t fathom the idea that Diane was less of a sociopath. Jack noted that some people would say the same thing about Phyllis. Phyllis snapped that no one would say that because she didn’t fake her own death and let someone else almost go down for it, like Diane did with Nikki. Phyllis saw no sign of change in Diane. Jack said Phyllis was right. She implored him not to let his guard down with Diane. He promised he wouldn’t.

At the Abbott house, Diane came face to face with Kyle. With tears in her eyes, she thanked him for giving her a chance to explain herself. Kyle replied that she had a hell of a lot of explaining to do. Diane had a lot of memories in this house. She wished she could make this easy for him, but nothing about this was easy. She was sure he was confused and angry. She wasn’t expecting anything from him, except maybe an open mind. She said he must be in shock. He didn’t want her making assumptions about his state of mind. He was barely sure of his own feelings. She was moved by seeing his face. He said it’d been so long – he asked if she even recognized him. She said she’d know him anywhere. He felt the same of her. She admitted she’d been following his life online. “Lucky you. I certainly didn’t get that opportunity,” he replied. She was proud of his success at work and in life. He didn’t want her to make this about him. He wanted to hear about her. Diane said she was an open book. On the verge of tears, he asked why she faked her death.

Kyle thought it was so much worse that Diane followed his life from a distance. He said she cared enough to keep track, but not enough to reach out. Diane swore she missed Kyle every day and never stopped loving her. He noted all evidence was to the contrary. He remembered the last time they saw each other, she sent him off to boarding school and told him he had to use a fake name. He went along with it and trusted her when she said she’d be joining him in Europe soon, but she never came. Jack came and told him that Diane had been killed. “When exactly did you decide I wasn’t worth coming for,” he asked. She said she always wanted to come for him. He didn’t believe it. She sent him away because she was in way over her head, and she was scared the people she’d pushed past their limits would retaliate by taking him away from her in court. The Newmans and Abbotts didn’t agree on much, but they were very powerful, and they all hated her, and they weren’t the only ones. She was desperate to escape, and with Deacon’s help, she found a way to disappear. She’d intended to reunite with him once she was safely away from Genoa City, then she realized she couldn’t. Her life as she knew it was over, when she faked her death, and if she’d taken him with her, she would’ve ruined his life too, and she couldn’t do that.

Kyle said Diane might have told herself that she was doing the best thing for him, since he had a mother who was so damaged, but what he was hearing was that she abandoned him. She said that leaving him was like leaving a piece of her soul behind. He thought those were just words. She said he was her only child, her pride and joy, and nothing ever mattered to her as much as him. After all the mistakes she made, she had nothing to offer him but a life on the run. She said Jack would’ve never stopped looking for Kyle. She would’ve turned him into a fugitive, right along with her. He felt that hse didn’t want him dragging her down. She said he was toxic back then and for a long time afterward, and he deserved to be with Jack, the parent who could give him stability. She thought she made the right choice, given how well he turned out. “You may be right, that having you as my one and only parent in such a messed up state would’ve been a disaster for me,” he admitted. However, at the time, all he knew was he lost the mom he adored. It was the worst pain he’d ever experienced. He couldn’t imagine letting his own son suffer like that. She apologized profusely, but she said he would’ve paid a different and far more terrible price if she raised him on the run away from the people who loved him. He said his father did his best, and he never tore Diane down in Kyle’s eyes or tarnished his happy memories of her. She was beyond grateful, and she said she owed Jack a huge debt, because it was more than she deserved. Back then, she was greedy, vindictive, cruel and dangerously ambitious. He was surprise she freely admitted that. She promised she wouldn’t hide anything from him ever again. He asked how he was supposed to believe she changed.

Kyle said Diane was claiming she changed, but she lured his dad to LA using Keemo’s death, and she manipulated Jack and Allie. He said she’d been secretive and deceitful. Diane said she did this as a gesture of goodwill. She said she needed to remain anonymous because if she’d contacted Jack directly, he would’ve shut her down. He conceded that Jack said the same thing. However, Kyle said Diane could’ve just contacted him. She disagreed because she thought it would’ve been too much of a shock. She thought it was better for Jack to break the news and give Kyle a chance to decide. He admitted she was probably right. She was sure he wondered why she came forward now, instead of years ago, and she said it was because she wasn’t ready back then. She went to therapy and tried to become someone worthy of being his mother. It took a lot of hard work and owning up to her mistakes and trying to understand how she became so vindictive and spiteful. How she took the beautiful life they had in Toronto and destroyed it completely. She was ashamed of who she was, but she’d done everything in her power to change and grow, and she’d vowed to never be that woman who caused so much chaos and hurt him so badly. She wouldn’t have reached out if she thought she’d still be a negative force in his life.

Kyle asked what Diane wanted from him – did she want forgiveness, so she could move on, or did she want a place in his life, because he wasn’t sure he was capable of that. He spent a long time making peace and figuring out who he was without her to guide him. He was now the happiest he’d ever been, and the family he built with Summer and Harrison was the mot important thing to him. He could not and would not bring any turmoil into their world. “I can’t sacrifice their happiness because I am messed up on account of you,” he said. She understood, and she said it was far too soon to even think about what the future might hold for him and her. She did hope that he could at least contemplate forgiveness at some point.

Kyle said Diane was asking a lot. She knew, but she’d promised to be straightforward. She figured she should go, but she asked if they could meet again. He wasn’t ready to commit to that yet. Jack and Phyllis strolled in. He apologized – he didn’t realize Diane would still be there. He said he’d go, but Diane was already on her way out. Diane thanked Kyle for allowing her to have this conversation with him. She left.

Kyle asked where Harrison was. Traci took him on an outing. Jack said he wouldn’t press for details about Diane. Kyle said he’d tell Jack about it later, but right now he needed air. Jack promised he’d be there if Kyle needed him. Kyle knew. He left. Phyllis comforted Jack.

When Diane got to her suite, she was shaken to see Victor inside waiting for her.

Update written by Joseph

Steve and Kayla sit together at the Brady Pub. Steve talks about wanting them to take a romantic vacation but notes that Kayla is distracted and not interested. Steve understands Kayla is thinking about her job and missing it which Kayla admits. Kayla brings up the board wanting her to fire Marlena and she refused, so they hired Craig to do it but he refused too, so Craig and Marlena still have their jobs but she’s fired. Kayla wonders if maybe she should’ve fired Marlena.

Marlena sits in her office at the hospital and gets a call from Belle. Marlena says she’s been worried about her and asks if she and Shawn are working things out, but Belle shocks Marlena by revealing to her that Johnny was possessed by The Devil.

EJ brings Johnny to the hospital where he sees Chanel and Tripp hugging. Johnny calls out to Chanel, who questions him not being in Italy. Johnny responds that he never went to Italy so Chanel calls him a liar. Chanel turns back to Tripp and thanks him for everything but says she has to go. Johnny stops Chanel and says he needs to talk to her. Chanel asks why she would want to hear anything out of his hateful mouth when he said enough on the phone the other night. Johnny informs Chanel that it wasn’t him on the phone so she questions who it was then. EJ reveals it was Satan. Chanel doesn’t buy it and guesses this is something for Johnny’s movie, pointing out that he bailed on the movie like everything else. EJ assures it’s the truth as Johnny was possessed by the Devil but Chanel doesn’t believe it.

Ben explains to Rafe and Jake that Evan/Christian is working with Allie, who is possessed by the Devil. Jake identifies Allie as the one who knocked him out. Ben knows it sounds crazy but it’s the truth. Ben explains that after Allie drugged him with the tea, she admitted that she was the Devil and that he was after his baby, then the next thing he knew he was chained up in the DiMera Crypt with Johnny. Ben adds that Johnny confirmed what Allie said. Ben declares that Allie kidnapped Ciara.

Allie tells Ciara that she understands she’s upset and wants to be with Ben but they can’t go back to her apartment while Evan is on the loose. Ciara wants to call Rafe and says if they caught Evan, they can go back. Allie agrees if that’s the only way to convince her to go to the cabin. Devil Allie then uses the Devil powers to fake another phone call with Rafe. Ciara cries that she wants to go home but “Rafe” tells her it’s not an option since Evan is out there and dangerous, so they need to go to the cabin now. Ciara asks what about Ben.

Tripp and EJ get Johnny set up in a hospital bed. Tripp notes that he needed fluids and he’ll be back to check on him later as he exits the room. EJ comments that Johnny looks better already. Chanel enters the room so Johnny asks if they can have a moment alone. EJ agrees to step outside. Chanel asks how Johnny is feeling. Johnny says like the world is even scarier than he ever thought. Chanel asks how he is physically. Johnny says he’s not too bad other than a splitting headache. Chanel asks if it’s really true that he was possessed.

Ben panics about Ciara and their baby being in danger of the Devil. Ben asks Jake if Evan said anything about Allie. Jake wishes he could remember more but says he just recognized Evan and then Allie knocked him out from behind. Jake says when he came to, they were gone and Rafe was there. Ben feels Jake must have overheard something. Jake says he can’t remember. Ben suggests there is a way for Jake to remember and brings up Marlena hypnotizing him to recover memories so maybe she can do the same for him. Ben asks what Rafe thinks. Rafe says anything that can help them find Allie and Ciara is worth a shot.

Steve argues that Kayla doesn’t mean that she should’ve fired Marlena which Kayla admits. Kayla explains that she refused to fire her because she’s a great friend, an esteemed psychiatrist, and she didn’t deserve that. Steve points out that Kayla didn’t deserve to be fired either. Kayla agrees that she’s being fired for doing the right thing. Steve calls it unfair and outrageous. Steve praises Kayla for the contributions she made to the hospital as chief of staff. Steve wishes he could do something about it like going to talk to them about the stupid decision they made. Kayla feels it wouldn’t make a difference. Steve reminds Kayla that they came out to have fun tonight. Steve suggests throwing darts but Kayla wants to sit here and wallow. Steve tries to entice her by offering to paint their bathroom if she gets a bullseye.

Johnny reveals to Chanel that he was possessed since Christmas and reminds her how he wasn’t feeling good on New Year’s Eve which was because the Devil was taking control of his body. Chanel recalls Johnny missing the New Year’s countdown. Johnny says he was getting ready but that’s the last thing he remembers. Chanel asks about their wedding reception where he divorced her and totally humiliated her. Johnny assures that was never him and he doesn’t remember any of it. Johnny asks if Chanel believes him. Chanel says it’s hard to unhear the things he said to her that night because she had never been hurt in her entire life. Johnny insists it was not him and that all he remembers is that she made him feel more loved than anyone ever has. Johnny calls Chanel everything he ever wanted so he would have never asked her for a divorce because he never stopped loving her and still hasn’t.

EJ explains to Tripp that Allie is now possessed and no one knows where she is. EJ is sorry to burden him since he knows it’s a lot to take in. EJ mentions that he needs to go inform Marlena and hopes she can help them track down Allie, leaving Tripp in shock.

Marlena tells Belle to hang in there as she finishes their phone call and says she’ll see her at home. EJ then enters her office and informs Marlena that he needs to speak with her as it’s urgent. Marlena reveals that Belle just informed her that it was not her who was possessed but Johnny and now Belle. EJ declares that they need to find Allie and to tell Sami right now.

Chanel recalls Johnny being so cruel that night when he broke her heart. Johnny says he’s so sorry. Chanel says she was so in love with him and so happy to be his wife but he treated her like she was nothing to him and that getting involved with her was a terrible mistake. Chanel remembers wishing it was a nightmare but it wasn’t. Chanel brings up Allie being there. Johnny reveals that it’s okay as he knows she slept with her. Chanel talks about not knowing where to turn or what to do as she was in so much pain and she felt like there was something wrong with her. Chanel adds that Allie was there to comfort her and make her feel like it wasn’t her fault and she was worthy of love. Johnny says he gets it and she doesn’t have to explain what she did with Allie or Tripp.

Kayla throws a bullseye on her first try. Tripp enters the Pub so Kayla excitedly tells Tripp about it. Steve tells Kayla that the game is not over yet. Kayla asks if Tripp wants to take a shot but he says he’s not in the mood. Steve asks him what the matter is. Tripp responds that he’s a little sad, worried, and kind of freaked out but he didn’t mean to ruin their night. Kayla says it’s okay and asks if he’s still upset about what happened with Allie. Tripp says that too so Steve asks what else happened.

Devil Allie has her fake phone call with Rafe telling Ciara that there is nothing she can do for Ben. Ciara argues that Ben needs her and she should be with him now. “Rafe” repeats that Evan is dangerous and wants revenge so she needs to put her baby first and let Allie take her to the cabin. Allie remarks that Rafe is right. Ciara reluctantly agrees to go for Ben and their son. “Rafe” assures Ciara it’s for the best and thanks Allie for taking care of her. Allie comments that she just wants to make sure Ciara and the baby are alright as she hangs up the phone. Allie asks Ciara what she thinks. Ciara gives in to going to the cabin so Allie starts the car back up.

Marlena calls Sami and leaves a message for her to call as soon as she gets it. Marlena guesses that where ever Sami and Lucas have gone, they have terrible cell phone reception. EJ wonders if they should get the police involved but Marlena says not until she talks to Shawn. Ben and Jake rush in to the office. EJ informs them that they were just talking about Allie’s possession. Ben reveals that Allie is not just possessed but they think it’s possible that she kidnapped Ciara since the Devil is still after their baby. Marlena declares that they are not giving up until Ciara and the baby are safe. Marlena asks if they have any idea where Allie might have taken Ciara. Ben says that’s where she comes in.

Chanel questions Johnny knowing about her and Tripp. Johnny confirms he knows that they got drunk together, were kissing at a bar, and went back to her place. Chanel assures that nothing happened because Paulina knew they were doing it for the wrong reasons so she refused to let them go to her room and called Tripp a cab to send him home. Johnny jokes that he knew he liked Paulina.

Tripp informs Kayla and Steve that Allie is now possessed and apparently Allie has vanished so no one knows where she went. Tripp hopes they will find her and get her the help she needs. Steve says if Marlena’s family got the Devil out of her, he bets they will be able to help Allie. Steve adds that there might be a silver lining in all of this.

At the hospital, Rafe finishes a call with the police about searching for Allie. Rafe informs EJ that there’s no word yet as they ran Allie’s license plates but no one has seen her. EJ asks if there are no leads at all. Rafe mentions that Jake thinks he might have seen Allie take Ciara, so they took him to Marlena to see if she can help him remember more. EJ confirms that Marlena is hypnotizing Jake about the incident as they speak.

Marlena begins hypnotizing Jake and assures that he is safe in her office. Marlena takes him back to being at Ben and Ciara’s apartment, waiting for them to come back. Jake remembers the knock at the door and it was Evan, who had just escaped from prison and he said that a new friend helped him do it. Jake says he asked about the friend but that was when he was hit from behind and the next thing he remembers is coming to with Rafe there. Marlena wants to move in to his subconscious and asks about when he was hit. Jake repeats that he didn’t see who it was. Marlena encourages him to block out all other senses and tell her what he hears. Jake remembers Allie saying that he wasn’t part of the plan but he may as well make himself useful. Jake tells Marlena that it’s definitely Allie’s voice but he can’t understand. Marlena asks if he heard any other voices. Jake says he can’t make out what they are saying. Ben asks if Ciara was there. Marlena urges Jake to focus on if he can hear Ciara’s voice.

Kayla questions how Steve could even say there’s a silver lining in possession. Steve says maybe it didn’t come out right but he meant that if Allie was really possessed by the Devil then she wasn’t in control when she cheated on Tripp so maybe that can give him comfort about their relationship. Tripp wishes he could blame what happened on the Devil, that was all Allie because she couldn’t have been possessed the night she slept with Chanel because Johnny was.

EJ informs Rafe that Johnny is in with Chanel. Rafe mentions Ben saying that they were chained in the DiMera Crypt and things got crazy with Andre showing up. EJ admits that it was Susan who alerted them to the fact that Johnny was possessed and not in Italy. EJ admits he only went to the Crypt to appease Susan but he walked in and saw Andre choking Johnny, so if not for Susan, he would’ve lost his son tonight. Rafe is glad she said something to him then. EJ thanks God for that. EJ questions what kind of father or person he is that for all these months his son was in a fight for his soul and he had no idea.

Chanel tells Johnny that she and Tripp realized that Paulina was right that sleeping together would’ve been stupid so they were just bonding as friends and the next day, they were just happy they could still be friends. Johnny says he’s happy too. Johnny admits that when he saw Chanel and Tripp leave the bar, he assumed the worst. Chanel asks how he even knows and if he had been following her. Johnny says he would never do that and tells her that the Devil showed him. Chanel doesn’t know what that means. Johnny explains that the Devil chained him up in the DiMera Crypt and tortured him by showing him like a movie of Chanel and Tripp drunk, making out, and leaving together which drove him crazy. Chanel asks if he wasn’t possessed in the Crypt, so how the Devil tortured him and chained him up. Chanel questions using someone’s body to do that.

Steve is shocked to learn Johnny was also possessed. Kayla points out that would explain his strange behavior like breaking Chanel’s heart. Tripp adds that it turns out Johnny never went to Italy and it seems Devil Allie had him chained up in the DiMera Crypt. Steve recalls that’s where Marlena kept John and Susan when she was possessed. Tripp explains that EJ just found him tonight and brought him to the hospital. Tripp says he checked him out and he’s shaken up and weak but he’ll be okay.

Rafe encourages EJ that he had no way of knowing what was going on with Johnny. EJ complains that he’s his father so he’s supposed to know. EJ talks about Johnny doing things out of character all these months and he never once thought to ask what caused it. Rafe suggests maybe he didn’t notice because those changes were happening gradually. EJ insists there was nothing gradual about it like how he discarded Chanel at their wedding reception which was terribly sudden and extreme. EJ admits that he felt oddly proud of him at the time. EJ says everyone else was horrified by his behavior but he defended him as he thought Johnny just came to his senses and realized Chanel was not a suitable partner for him. EJ adds that he was relieved that Johnny finally accepted DiMera was his legacy and birth right. Rafe acknowledges that he’ll never fully understand that DiMera code. EJ notes that Johnny didn’t accept that code. EJ says all the years that he and Johnny didn’t get along, he assumed was because Johnny looked to Rafe as a role model more than he ever did to him. Rafe tells EJ that Johnny was always his own man, even as a kid. EJ thought Johnny finally grew in to the heir he always imagined but now finding out those qualities he thought he inherited from him were actually Satan’s. EJ wonders what that says about him, that he was finally proud of his son when he wasn’t himself at all.

Marlena asks Jake again if he can hear Ciara. Jake identifies Ciara’s voice and that she’s upset, crying, and yelling for Ben to wake up. Marlena wants Jake to now use all his senses and asks if he can see or feel anything. Jake responds that he feels a hand on his wrist and it’s Allie saying that Ben is gone. Jake then complains that his head is killing him. Marlena decides to end the session. Jake mentions his headache so Marlena suggests he get checked out in the ER for a possible concussion. Jake tells Ben that he’s sorry he doesn’t know where Allie and Ciara went. Ben says at least they know now that they were together. Ben doesn’t get why Ciara would be yelling at him to wake up though since he wasn’t there.

Allie brings Ciara to the Horton Cabin. Ciara says she hasn’t been there in years but recalls her parents taking her there often and fishing with her dad. Ciara states that her dad is gone and now Ben is gone too. Allie encourages her to feel better but Ciara cries that her husband is dead, so she’s never going to feel better again. Allie says she needs to think of her baby now as Ben would want her to do everything possible to make sure the baby comes in to the world safe and sound. Ciara steps out while the Devil remarks that now with Ben out of the way, this will be the perfect place for his baby to be born.

Steve and Kayla question Johnny and now Allie being possessed. Steve says it’s a lot for Tripp to take in and offers to take him home but Tripp says it’s okay and he will get back to work. Tripp thanks them for always being there. Kayla says they will see him soon. Tripp hugs them both and then exits the Pub.

EJ tells Rafe that if he was in a better mood, he would appreciate the irony of him crying on Rafe’s shoulder for comfort. Rafe points out that they both care about Johnny, so all that matters is that he’s going to be okay. Rafe adds that EJ still has a chance to do things differently. EJ worries about all the time he lost but agrees that they have Johnny back and that’s the best news. Rafe says he has to check in with the station for news on Allie and Ciara. EJ says to let him know if he can be of any help. Rafe says he will and steps away to make the call.

Chanel doesn’t get it since there was no exorcism of Johnny and questions why the Devil left Johnny’s body and where he went when he did. Chanel questions what Johnny is not telling her. Johnny says this won’t be easy to hear as he reveals that when the Devil left his body, he went in to Allie.

Ben questions why Ciara would be calling out to him and crying if he wasn’t in the room. Ben asks if Jake remembers anything else. Jake says it seemed like Ciara and Allie were really close to him. Ben questions why Ciara would be calling Jake by his name. Marlena brings up Jake saying he felt Allie’s hand on his wrist. Jake says it was like she was checking his pulse. Jake then comes to the realization that the Devil can change forms like when the Devil made Johnny look like him, so he asks if the Devil can make other people change forms too. Marlena confirms that the Devil made Tripp look like Jan and turned Susan in to a cat. Jake figures that is it and that Allie made him look like Ben which is why she was taking his pulse and Ciara was crying. Ben realizes now that Ciara thinks he’s dead.

Ciara comes back from the bathroom so Allie asks if she’s feeling better. Ciara wants to use Allie’s phone to call her mom. Allie doesn’t think that’s a good idea. Ciara doesn’t care and repeats that she wants to call her mom and hear her voice. Allie says whatever helps her through this. Allie then checks her phone and it has no service, so it’s just them.

Days Update Friday, April 29, 2022

Days of Our Lives Update

Days of Our Lives logo

Update written by Joseph

Devil Allie tells Evan that it’s the second time she’s had to knock Jake out as he’s really becoming a pain in the ass. Evan asks what they are going to do with him. Allie says it wasn’t part of the plan but since he’s here, he may as well make himself useful.

Susan wonders if EJ was right about her psychic powers and decides she just needs some rest. Susan then lays down in the bed with Johnny’s coat and dreams about arguing with Johnny being the Devil where the Devil revealed himself to her and then made her lose her memory. Susan then wakes up in a panic, realizing that Johnny has been possessed by the Devil.

Belle asks EJ if Susan said why she thought Johnny was in danger. EJ explains that Susan kept insisting that Johnny didn’t write the letter left behind and that his brother Andre did, even though Andre has been dead for years.

Andre announces that since Ben decided to save Johnny’s life, he’s about to end Ben’s. Johnny warns that killing Ben would be a big mistake which Andre questions.

Ciara returns home and is shocked to find Evan inside. Evan claims he was just catching up with an old friend as he reveals The Devil has transformed Jake in to “Ben” now being on the floor. Evan says Ciara can scream but he won’t hear her. Ciara questions what he did to him. Evan asks what it looks like and claims that he killed her husband.

Belle says EJ obviously knows Susan better than she does, but asks what if she’s right. EJ explains that Susan was first convinced it was Tony but then latched onto the idea that it was Andre. EJ thinks all the talk of demonic possession has gotten to Susan, so hopefully a good night’s rest will get her together.

Susan doesn’t understand why she can’t remember any of this. Susan then prays to God to bring her memory back so maybe she can save Johnny from the Devil’s powers. Susan then has more flashbacks to her confrontation with Devil Johnny and how he used his powers to convince her to leave Salem. Susan realizes that the Devil touched her forehead, making her forget that he possessed Johnny.

Andre mocks Johnny making a friend in Ben but says that’s about to come to an end. Johnny asks why he would want to strangle Ben when he’s a stone cold killer and they could use him. Andre says he has his orders. Johnny argues that Ben is the Necktie Killer while Andre was the Salem Slasher so they could do damage to the world. Johnny asks if Andre is not allowed to think for himself anymore and if he’s just been turned in to the Devil’s little errand boy.

Tripp and Chanel eat together in the town square. Tripp and Chanel talk about being done letting things that remind them of Allie get to them. Chanel declares that Allie has caused them both enough misery, so it’s time for that to stop which Tripp agrees with.

Ciara checks on “Ben” and argues that it can’t be real and that Evan is supposed to be in prison. Evan complains about being locked up while Ben was playing house with Ciara. Ciara starts to cry as she tries to wake “Ben” up. Evan then grabs a knife from the kitchen and tells Ciara that she’s wasting her breath because he’s dead and she’s next. Devil Allie then appears to knock out Evan with a frying pan to pretend to Ciara that she’s just Allie and she asks who Evan was. Ciara explains that he’s Orpheus’ son and an escaped convict. Ciara says she’ll explain more later but now they have to help “Ben” because Evan tried to strangle him. Ciara cries that “Ben” is cold. Allie tells Ciara that she’s sorry but he doesn’t have a pulse. Devil Allie remarks that this is out of God’s hands now and that Ben is gone as Ciara breaks down crying.

Andre warns Johnny that he may have been Stefano’s favorite but Stefano is dead while he is undead. Johnny claims he meant no disrespect but talks about what a duo Andre and Ben could be. Andre tells Johnny that he’s sorry but he’s not interested. Andre then wraps the necktie around Ben’s neck.

Belle asks EJ when he last spoke to Johnny. EJ says it was before he was sent to prison. Belle asks if it’s unusual for them to be out of touch that long. Belle knows their relationship is complicated. EJ thinks she means that he’s a terrible father. Belle apologizes if she triggered him by asking if he talked to Johnny recently. EJ says it was his guilt as he often feels like his son is a stranger to him, maybe because he reminds him so much of Sami. EJ declares that he won’t give up and hopes to earn his son’s respect eventually. EJ adds that he’s contacted him numerous times to no response. Belle questions the only evidence that Johnny is okay being a letter that Susan is convinced he didn’t write. EJ talks about Susan’s premonition this time being so vague. Susan then rushes in, explaining that it wasn’t a premonition but a memory. Susan declares that Johnny is the Devil himself.

Ciara tells Allie that she’s wrong because Ben always comes back to her. Ciara tells Allie to call an ambulance but Allie says it won’t help. Ciara says she’ll do it herself. Allie warns that Evan is starting to wake up so Ciara needs to go now. Ciara cries that she can’t leave Ben. Allie tells Ciara to think about herself and the baby, so she needs to go. Ciara cries that she loves Ben as Allie hurries Ciara out the door with her.

EJ asks what Susan is saying. Susan apologizes to Belle and explains that the Devil set her up. Belle points out that Johnny was the only other person that was here that day. Susan explains that Johnny was at Marlena’s exorcism, so the Devil left her body to take over Johnny’s. EJ calls it ridiculous but Belle points out that it would explain why she doesn’t have the gaps in her memory like Marlena did. Susan confirms that Satan wasn’t using Belle to do his bidding, it was Johnny.

Johnny argues that Andre isn’t thinking this through. Andre yells at him to shut up and let him get on. Johnny talks about Andre living in Stefano’s shadow and now doing the Devil’s dirty work. Johnny urges Andre to think about how he will be remembered if he forced Ben to go on a killing spree with him instead. Johnny asks why Andre would strangle Ben when he could make him want to kill again.

Chanel tells Tripp that it’s interesting how they bonded over being hurt by the same person. Tripp admits it feels really good to vent to someone who totally gets it. Chanel agrees that it helps. Tripp decides he’s going to the gym before work. Tripp tells her that next time, lunch is on him. Tripp then gets a call from Rafe, asking if he could possibly come over to Nicole’s and watch Henry until she gets back. Tripp asks where Allie is. Rafe says that Nicole got a text that Allie had something important to deal with. Tripp questions it being more important than her kid. Rafe understands but says he has a case to handle. Tripp agrees to be right there and hangs up. Tripp tells Chanel so much for the gym as Rafe is alone with Henry and has to leave while Allie left a text that something came up. Chanel points out that Allie did the same thing the night before she broke up with her. Tripp questions Allie neglecting her son.

Devil Allie drives Ciara in her car while Ciara complains that this is a mistake and they should’ve stayed because Allie is not an expert in checking pulses so Ben could still be alive and in shock. Ciara wants Allie to turn around and go back but Allie says they can’t go back since Evan is on the loose, so Ben would want her to get her as far away from him as possible.

Evan regains consciousness and says the crazy bitch must have turned on him. Evan says he really wanted to kill Ben and Ciara himself, so he feels cheated. Evan decides he should get out of here before the cops show up, so he exits the apartment, leaving Jake unconscious on the floor. Jake then starts to move.

Belle goes over the Devil wiping Susan’s memory of realizing that he was in Johnny. EJ questions the Devil possessing Johnny and then convincing him to go to Italy. Susan argues that Johnny isn’t in Italy and didn’t write the letter, so she knows Johnny is still in Salem. Belle says they better find him then. EJ and Susan talk about how the letter didn’t sound like Johnny. Susan points out that it sounded more like Andre. EJ reminds her that Andre is dead. Susan asks who stays dead in this town. Belle asks where they should start looking. Susan informs them that the Devil has a favorite spot where he tormented her and John and it’s right out there in the family crypt. EJ questions her saying Johnny has been in the crypt this entire time which she confirms. Belle tells EJ that Susan is right since John told her all about the crypt, so he has to go check it out. Belle decides she will call Eric because if Johnny is possessed, there will have to be an exorcism. EJ can’t believe they are talking about this as he thought this whole Devil thing was mass hysteria. Susan insists that it’s real, so EJ agrees to go to the crypt. Susan declares that they will have to stop the Devil as she and EJ head outside.

Ciara asks Allie where they are going since they should be going to the police station, looking out for Christian/Evan, and calling for help for Ben. Devil Allie uses his powers to create a fake phone call with Rafe and puts it on speaker so Ciara hears “Rafe” saying that he’s already at Ciara’s and that it was too late for Ben. “Rafe” instructs Allie to send Ciara somewhere safe like the Horton Cabin which Allie then agrees to do. Allie tells Ciara that she has to think of her baby now and that she’s going to take good care of them.

Rafe breaks in to Ben and Ciara’s apartment to find Jake regaining consciousness on the floor and asks him what happened. Jake explains he answered a knock at the door and it was the guy who locked up Ciara, Christian Maddox. Rafe acknowledges that Christian escaped from prison tonight but Jake says it was somebody else. Rafe asks where Ben and Ciara are and if he has them. Jake complains of his head hurting while Rafe encourages him to stay with him.

Andre tells Johnny that he can see he’s learned the art of the pitch, so he’s agreed not to kill Ben, but he did promise the Devil a kill, so he’s afraid Johnny’s dreams are coming to an end. Andre starts to strangle Johnny. Ben yells for him to let him go. EJ then bursts in to the Crypt to save Johnny. EJ asks what’s happening. Ben says Andre was trying to kill him. Andre claims to be Tony and that he’s been possessed by the Devil. Susan then walks in and stabs Andre in the back, causing him to turn back in to dust. EJ questions what the hell she has done. Susan explains that it wasn’t Tony, it was Andre. EJ thanks Susan for saving Johnny’s life. Johnny and Ben ask to be un chained. EJ tells Johnny that he’s so sorry he didn’t figure this out earlier but he’s glad he’s still alive. Johnny admits it was scary. EJ gets Johnny freed from the chains and then hands the key to Susan. Johnny declares that he has to find Chanel. Susan doesn’t want Johnny going anywhere until they know he’s not possessed. Johnny points out that he’s been chained this whole time. Ben assures that Johnny is telling the truth and is not possessed anymore as the Devil has moved on. EJ asks who is possessed now.

Ciara argues that this doesn’t make sense since if Ben were dead, she would feel it inside as that’s how connected they are. Allie guesses she’s just in shock and encourages her to lie back and close her eyes since stress is not good for the baby. Ciara complains that if Ben is really gone, she’ll never feel good again.

Tripp and Chanel go to Nicole’s to watch Henry. Tripp finishes a work call while Chanel finishes putting Henry to sleep. Tripp thanks her for coming with him as Henry hadn’t seen him in awhile so he was worried that Henry would be scared of him. Chanel assures that Henry wasn’t scared and smiled big when he saw him. Chanel cannot believe that Allie said she was too busy to watch her own son. Tripp agrees it’s unlike her and asks if she has any idea what’s going on with her. Tripp worries that things have gotten to be too much for Allie like being raped, having Henry at such a young age, her parents leaving, and what happened between them. Chanel admits she and Johnny didn’t make things any easier. Tripp and Chanel complain about Johnny. Chanel adds that she’s thankful that Paulina stopped them from sleeping together as things would have gotten a lot messier. Tripp agrees that sex and drunk doesn’t work out. Chanel feels that would’ve ruined their chances of being friends. Tripp gets a text from Nicole that Holly’s dance class is over so they are heading home. Tripp offers to drop Chanel off on his way to the hospital but Chanel asks if she can go with him to visit Lani. Tripp says he’d like her company.

Johnny explains to EJ that the Devil went from him to Allie and locked him up in here. Johnny insists they need to get Allie help and he needs to see Chanel. EJ assures he will but he’s going to the hospital first. Susan gets Ben free from the chains. Ben talks about Allie knocking him out and they don’t know what she did to Ciara, so he has to find her before it’s too late. Ben then races out of the Crypt.

Devil Allie remarks that she knows Ciara doesn’t believe it, but she’s going to take such good care of her. Devil Allie’s eyes glow as she continues driving. Allie promises they will be safe at the cabin. Ciara demands that Allie turn around as she wants to go home.

Johnny insists that he’s fine and doesn’t need to go to the hospital. EJ questions how long it’s been since he’s eaten. Johnny almost collapses so EJ decides he’s going to the hospital and then they will deal with Allie and find Chanel. EJ instructs Susan to go back to the house to inform Belle as they then exit the Crypt.

Jake tells Rafe that he feels like he got hit with a sledgehammer but it wasn’t Christian since he was looking at him when he got nailed from behind. Rafe asks if he has any idea where Ben and Ciara are now. Jake says Ciara said she hadn’t seen Ben since waking up this morning and she was heading to the hospital to see if Marlena had seen Ben. Rafe worries that they now have no idea where either one of them are. Jake suggests maybe Ciara found Ben and they are together. Rafe hopes they are somewhere where Christian can’t track them down.

Susan returns to the living room and informs Belle that they found Johnny in the Crypt, so EJ had to take him to the hospital but she thinks he will be okay. Susan talks about how Johnny was chained up. Belle worries that he could have died. Susan says Johnny will be fine and then reveals that the Devil is now in Allie.

Allie questions Ciara wanting to turn the car around. Allie says she’s sorry but they can’t do that. Ciara orders her to stop the car now or she’s going to scream.

At the hospital, Chanel and Tripp catch up with each other. Chanel tells him that Lani is hungry so she’s going to get her something to eat while Tripp jokes that the hospital barely survived without him. Tripp tells Chanel that he’s really glad they are getting along so he’s really sorry if he ever hurt her feelings while Allie was deciding which one she wanted. Chanel admits she should’ve been upfront with him about how she felt about Allie since he didn’t deserve what happened. Chanel praises Tripp as a catch. Tripp points out that he hasn’t had luck with women. Chanel says that’s just because he hasn’t found the right woman but she predicts someday soon, he will meet the right woman who will be so lucky to have a guy like him. Tripp and Chanel embrace as EJ brings Johnny in to the hospital and sees them.

Belle complains that she wanted to believe the Devil was gone and asks Susan if she’s absolutely sure that he’s taken over Allie. Susan confirms that she is as Johnny and Ben told her the whole story. Susan wonders what the Devil has Allie doing now.

Evan/Christian shows up in the DiMera Crypt and notes that Allie said he could hang out here, but didn’t mention how creepy it was. He notes the chains and remarks that it looks like he missed all the fun.

Rafe thinks Jake should get looked at for a concussion. Jake says he’ll be fine but Rafe insists. Jake tries to stand but falls so he agrees that a trip to the hospital is not a bad idea. Rafe and Jake go to leave but Ben arrives, asking where Ciara is. Jake questions where Ben has been since Ciara is out looking for him. Ben announces that they have to find her because the Devil is back and still wants their baby.

Allie stops the car and tells Ciara that she’s upset but not thinking straight, so she’s here to keep her safe and insists on bringing her to the cabin. Ciara cries that she wants to go home and be with Ben, feeling that she abandoned him. Allie tells Ciara that Ben is gone but Ciara insists that she wants to go home right now. Ciara talks about Ben being the love of her life and she needs to be with him. Allie points out their wedding vows say til death do them part and now it’s done just that.

Recap written by Christine

At Crimson Lights, Victor told Nikki that he thought Victoria should leave town to regroup and Adam should run Newman Locke while she was away. Nikki said she didn’t call Victor here to talk about Victoria, but about Diane Jenkins. Victor stated that Diane had been dead for years. Nikki revealed that Diane was alive, and she had the audacity to return seeking forgiveness. Nikki said Deacon helped Diane fake her death. Nikki told Diane to stay away from all of them, especially Nick. Victor thought about all the damage Diane’s fake murder caused. They discussed Diane’s interest in reconnecting with Kyle. Victor didn’t foresee Kyle forgiving Diane. Victor didn’t buy Diane’s garbage, after what she did to everyone, especially Nikki and Kyle. Nikki noted that Victor got hurt too – he took the blame for Diane’s murder to protect Nikki and Victoria. Nikki didn’t think Diane would stick around for long. She didn’t think Kyle would forgive his mother.

Harrison was in the living room with Jack and Phyllis. The little boy got excited when Kyle entered. Kyle had gone for a walk to clear his head. He didn’t realize Harrison was back. Jack said Ashland dropped him off a little while ago, and they’d had a great time at the park. Kyle gave his son a big hug and said he missed him. He didn’t understand how a parent could stand to be away from their child. Phyllis took Harrison to the kitchen to get a snack from his aunt Traci. Jack thought Kyle and Summer had done an excellent job with Harrison. Jack asked about Kyle’s walk. Kyle’s emotions were all over the place. He couldn’t believe his mom chose to let him think she was dead and just let him go on with his life. Jack said Kyle created a great life for himself and his family. Kyle said it was thanks to Jack’s love and support. Jack said he did his best, but he couldn’t replace the love of a mother. While Kyle was sad and angry, he couldn’t help feeling like Diane’s return was a miracle – an answer to the prayers he made as a little kid. On the other hand, he asked why he would ever buy into anything Diane said and put his family through that much drama. Jack didn’t want Kyle to feel pressured by anyone. He told his son to take his time and decide what he wanted to do. Kyle already knew what he wanted to do.

Kyle wanted to hear Diane out. He thought he’d regret it if he didn’t. Jack asked if Kyle was sure. Kyle assured Jack he wasn’t expecting some big emotional reunion. Jack thought that was the right attitude. Kyle wasn’t sure how he’d react or if he’d want Diane in his life afterward, but he needed answers from her. Jack said he understood more than Kyle realized, because of what he went through with his own mother. Dina didn’t fake her death, but she disappeared more than once. As angry, disappointed and abandoned as Jack felt, he couldn’t bring himself to turn his back on Dina. Kyle asked if Jack would reach out to Diane and make arrangements. Jack said yes, and they hugged.

Diane was in her suite. She had a flashback to a happy moment with Jack and an infant Kyle. They’d wondered what Kyle would grow up to be like. In the present, Diane looked pained. Jack showed up and told her he talked to Kyle and he was in shock. Diane said she was sure Jack had been evenhanded, but she believed Phyllis had been trashing her to Kyle. Jack said Phyllis wasn’t the problem. He felt that Phyllis was justified in being concerned about the impact that Diane’s return would have on Summer, Kyle’s wife. Jack said what Kyle was feeling now had nothing to do with anything Phyllis said to him and everything to do with Diane’s actions.

Diane apologized. Jack said he was trying very hard to be an honest and fair sounding board to Kyle. His instincts told him not to trust her, but he felt Kyle needed the truth. He’d tried to explain the inexplicable to Kyle – how a parent could walk away from their child. Diane was near tears because she thought Jack had come to deliver bad news in person. He clarified that Kyle wanted to see her. She thanked him. He said that part of him wished Kyle would abandon her, like she abandoned him. Diane didn’t think Jack sincerely felt that way, because he wasn’t that kind of person. Jack begged Diane to put Kyle first and think about his needs, not hers. He was sorry that needed to be said. She understood. She conceded there was a time she was self involved an incapable of understanding how her actions effected others. She asked if there was part of him that was willing to accept she changed. She asked if she could meet Kyle at the Abbott house, where Kyle could be comfortable and where it was private. Jack didn’t like the idea of Diane being in his house, but he could see how it would be beneficial to Kyle to see Diane on his home turf, so he agreed.

Jack went home and told Phyllis and Kyle what Diane said. Kyle seemed tense when Jack said Diane was already on her way, but he decided this was a good thing. Kyle asked them to keep Harrison entertained and out of sight. He didn’t want his son anywhere near his mother. Phyllis said they’d take Harrison and Traci to town.

Back at the hotel, Diane picked up the old picture of her, Jack and Kyle. She kissed her fingertips and touched the photo. There was a knock on the door, and Kyle took a breath, then he came face to face with his mother.

Sally and Adam were at work. She said it was exciting having extra responsibility while he was temporary CEO of Newman Locke. “However long it lasts,” he said. She stated that Ashland was gone thanks to Adam pulling off something no one else could do. He said his dad’s money helped. She didn’t want him to downplay his significance. She said this was just a stepping stone to making his temporary position as CEO permanent. She asked if something had changed. His strategy had changed, but not his goal. He decided not to push things. She said he deserved to be permanent CEO, and he would be if this were any other company. He said that this wasn’t any other company – it was Newman Enterprises. He was sure that plans were in progress to rip Locke’s name off the building, ads and letterhead. She thought that made an even stronger case that two Newman siblings should be in charge. He appreciated her believing in him. He also wanted to see his position made permanent, but he was going to take a different approach. He said there was a saying in basketball “let the game come to you.” He was going to sit back and see how Victoria played this. If Victoria treated him like a partner, he’d act accordingly, and maybe she’d surprise him and they could have a good working balance.

Sally said whatever Victoria chose to do, she’d have the legacy of Ashland Locke hanging over her. She thought there should be repercussions to bringing Ashland into the company and into their lives. Adam said there had already been a few – Victoria was in an accident that could’ve been deadly for her, so that was a pretty steep price to pay. Sally said Victoria had no choice but to accept Adam saved her from Ashland by swooping in and cleaning up the mess. He said that remained to be seen. He was going to focus on guiding Sally while she was in charge at Newman Media and while he tried to find a way to work with Victoria. He had absolute faith in Sally and her ability to manage the company. He was counting on her to make him look good, which she was already doing. He said she was smart, a harder worker than anyone he knew, and she didn’t lack confidence. She was grateful for the opportunity, and she promised to do everything in her power to help him get the recognition he deserved.

At Society, Chloe tried to hold a work meeting with Chelsea. Chelsea was distracted, so Chloe put the work aside so they could talk. Chelsea said she just lost one of her closest friends in a car accident. She felt guilty. If Rey never went back for those stupid tickets, he’d still be alive. Chloe said it wasn’t Chelsea’s fault that Rey forgot the tickets. Chelsea said a year ago, she put Rey’s life at risk, and he forgave her and was willing to hang out with her and her son, and look what that lead to. Kevin told Chloe something in confidence, and she wanted to share it with Chelsea. She told her not to share this with anyone, but Rey had a massive heart attack and that was why he lost control of the car. He didn’t die because of the crash.

Chelsea realized that if Rey never went back to get the tickets, she and Connor could’ve been in the car with him when he had his heart attack. Adam told Chelsea that Ashland pulled Victoria out of the burning car. She wondered if Ashland tried to help Rey too, and if he could’ve survived. Chloe didn’t think Chelsea should go down that rabbit hole – what happened happened, and there was no point in blaming anyone. Chloe thought Chelsea should move forward. Chelsea snapped that sh was trying to. She then apologized. Chelsea said this had been hard on Connor too. It just killed her that Ashland walked away from this accident, while someone as genuine as Rey was dead.

Sally and Adam came to the restaurant, and he asked Chelsea how she was. She said they had to focus on Connor. Losing Rey was a huge blow. Adam hoped they helped Connor realize that Rey’s death wasn’t his fault. Chelsea immediately revealed the confidential details of Rey’s death. Chloe glared at Chelsea, who apologized and contended that everyone was going to find out soon anyway. Adam said he was planning a special outing for Connor. Chelsea was interested in going too. She said they could talk to their son as a family and make him feel stable. Adam was noncommittal. Chelsea thought Adam should be able to commit to something as simple as a family outing for their son’s sake. Adam pointed out that he never said he wouldn’t do it. Chelsea countered that he never said he would, either. She asked if he was being this way because of Sally. It was clear to Chelsea that things had progressed between Adam and Sally. Adam knew Chelsea was upset about Rey, and he was sorry she lost such a good friend. He and Sally walked away.

Chelsea grumbled that there was no doubt Sally and Adam were a couple. Chloe didn’t see why that mattered or what Chelsea hoped to accomplish with that confrontation. She hoped Chelsea wasn’t going to use the emotional shock of Rey’s death as an excuse to gravitate toward Adam.

At their table, Sally said Chelsea was in a bad way. Adam explained that Rey and Chelsea bonded. Sally heard Chelsea tried to kill Rey. Adam said that Chelsea was unstable back then, and she’d been going after him, not Rey. She made it look like Adam poisoned Rey. “She wanted to kill Rey to get back at you?,” Sally asked. Adam said Rey was never given enough poison to kill him, just enough to make him sick and make Adam look guilty. Sally thought it was amazing that Adam forgave Chelsea after she set him up. He said there were extenuating circumstances, and he was in a glass house, so he couldn’t afford to throw stones. She said she couldn’t either. He was sure she never did anything that bad. “Well…,” Sally replied. He asked if there was something she wanted to tell him.

Sally had something she never wanted Adam to know, and she didn’t like this old temptation she was having. She was tempted to lie and deceive, but she wanted to be honest with him. There was something that had been pushing its way into her thoughts ever since they found out Ashland was lying about having cancer. She saw people acting like there was a special spot in Hell reserved for Ashland, and she admitted that there might also be a seat for her too. There was this guy in LA that Sally was completely in love with, and he broke off their engagement for a second time. She’d been so desperate to win him back, it made her physically sick, and Wyatt took care of her. It turned out that it was stress, but Wyatt didn’t know that, so she faked a terminal illness to get him to stay with her. She wasn’t proud of it. It was the most shameful thing she’d ever done. He asked why she was telling him. She wanted him to hear this from her, and not anyone else. Adam smiled and asked if Sally’s scheme worked.

Sally said the truth came out, and she was reviled, and that was why she left LA. Adam appreciated Sally’s honesty. She asked what he thought of her, given how he reacted to what Ashland did. He said that was a different situation – Ashland went after Adam’s family and the company. Adam thought Ashland’s plan was gutsy and he was impressed Ashland managed to pull it off for so long. A lifetime ago, Adam faked a medical condition to get what he wanted too. So he couldn’t judge. Sally always thought they had a lot in common, but she never thought that would be one of them. He was glad they could share things because he was falling in love with her too. Sally said Adam certainly left her hanging long enough. When she told him she was falling in love with him, there were crickets, and she thought he was just going to ignore it. Part of her wonders if he meant this. He suggested they go somewhere else, so he could be perfectly clear about his feelings. That sounded good to her. Chelsea seethed watching Sally and Adam leave.

Recap written by Christine

At Crimson Lights, Lily kissed Billy hello and asked if he’d heard from Victoria. Victoria wasn’t answering his texts, calls or emails. He was grateful the kids were away at school and didn’t know their mother was in a car accident. Lily thought Victoria needed space. Lily knew what it was like to be involved in a car accident where there was a fatality. It was overwhelming and the pain and guilt never went away. Billy didn’t want to add to Victoria’s burden – he just wanted to understand how it happened and how Ashland was involved. Lily asked why Billy thought Ashland was involved. Billy said Nick told him there was a plan to get Ashland out of the company and Victoria’s life. Billy wondered why Ashland was out there with Victoria, but not in the car with her. Was he following her? Lily said that with Ashland, there was always another lie waiting to be exposed. Billy agreed, and that’s why he thought he and Lily should put their heads together and come up with a way to get Ashland out of town and out of Victoria’s life. Lily said that it wasn’t their job to hold Ashland accountable.

Billy asked if Lily was saying she didn’t care how Ashland was involved in the car crash and didn’t think Victoria deserved justice. Lily said what happened on the highway was a tragedy, and her heart broke for Sharon and Rey’s family. She said the GCPD would investigate the death, so this wasn’t Billy’s fight. She said if he got involved, the Newmans would push him away, and he’d just get more wound up, so he should just let other people handle it. He said he had perspective, distance, and he knew the players. “We have a meeting to get to. A meeting that’s about our future. Please don’t let Ashland take one more thing from us,” Lily said. Billy agreed to stay out of it and leave tearing Ashland apart to the Newmans.

Elena and Nate were at their place snuggled on the couch. After what happened with Rey, she just wanted to spend the day with Nate, making good memories. He said life was short. To help her make a good memory, he leaned in for a kiss. Elena talked to Lola earlier. She said Rey made such a huge impact on people’s lives. Nate wondered if Ashland caused the accident on purpose, either so he could rescue Victoria and be her knight in shining armor, or because he wanted to hurt her, and Rey was collateral damage. He didn’t want to jump to conclusions, but trouble surrounded Ashland.

Elena had a new tie for Nate to commemorate his big day. He was going to be going to his first meeting as a member of the Chancellor-Winters team. She put the tie on him and said she was proud of him. She teased that it was brave of someone as old as he was to leave the medical world for a corporation. He laughed and said he appreciated the tie and her support. He sensed she had some concerns about this. She said it’d just take some getting used to him being an executive and not Dr. Hastings. He said he’d always be Dr. Hastings. She asked if he was sure this was right for him. He was. That made her feel good about it too. They kissed.

Imani was at Amanda and Devon’s. Imani was wearing her good-impression suit. A reminder not to overstep like she did last time. Amanda gave Imani a pass because she’d been excited. Imani was pleased Nate would be at the meeting. Devon reminded Imani that Nate was in a committed relationship. Amanda said Imani knew and didn’t care. Imani clarified that she was very interested in the health and future of Nate’s relationship. Amanda thought this was the time for a conversation about dating in the workplace. Imani said she’d never be caught making out in the snack room – the lighting in the studio was so much more romantic. She assured them she was just kidding. She’d be professional, but she saw no harm in a little flirting. When Nate knocked on the door, Imani made sure she was the one to answer it.

Devon and Amanda explained that they were meeting here because the office spaces weren’t finished. Imani complimented Nate’s tie, and he said it was from Elena. “You wear it impeccably,” Imani said. Lily and Billy arrived. Devon asked Billy how Victoria was, then they all talked about Rey. Amanda would never forget Rey going above and beyond while she was dealing with Ripley. Devon said it was a tragedy, and Nate shifted uncomfortably. Later, they discussed a name for the combined company. Devon was okay with Chancellor-Winters. He was going to rename LP Hamilton Streaming, as a tribute to his mom. Nate suggested they do a press party. Imani agreed. Devon wasn’t sure they should be so flashy out of the gate. He noted that Neil loved a party, but he was more conservative in business. Nate said Neil also grew with the times. He thought they should make a bold new statement right out of the gate.

Lily liked the idea of a splashy party. Nate said Devon and Lily would be front and center. Billy couldn’t think of a more dynamic duo. Devon thought Lily should be front and center since Chancellor was more established, and she was more used to being a spokesperson, while he ran things from the sidelines. She said she didn’t propose the merger to fly solo. She said this was about coming together as brother and sister with deep ties to these companies – they were the children of Neil Winters, and he was the grandson of Katherine Chancellor, which was a huge selling point. Nate said so many companies were known for their leaders, and they needed to aim for that with their new entity and two CEOs. Devon said everything was happening very fast. Lily said they could do this because of what Neil instilled into them – ready or not, they were going to be the face of the company. Amanda told Devon he’d have to get used to being the center of attention.

Victoria was in her office working. The sounds of the car accident and Ashland rescuing her replayed in her mind. At that moment, Ashland showed up. She asked what he was doing here and how he got past security. He’d dodged the guards. She said last time they spoke, he said he was leaving town. He couldn’t go until he knew she was okay, and she was dodging his calls and texts. She said she was fine. He noted that he saw the cane. He wanted an honest answer about how she was doing. “I wouldn’t lie about my health. That’s your area of expertise,” she replied. She asked about his hand and foot. He said the pain was nothing, compared to everything else he felt, but he knew he couldn’t expect sympathy from her. He’d tell her what he told Harrison – he’d be okay. She noted that she hadn’t seen Harrison since Tuscany.

Ashland asked how Victoria was. She just kept replaying the events in her mind – the parts she could remember. She was also asking herself some questions: What if Ashland didn’t follow her that night? Would she have died alone in her car, like Rey? Would the accident have even happened? If she’d never met Ashland, would Rey be home with his family right now? Ashland kept playing events in his mind too. She asked if he meant the crash, and he said no. He kept thinking about things from before the crash and stuff he should’ve said and done differently. He wished she could understand that he’d always love her. He kept hoping there would be one true perfect moment where she forgave him.

Victoria told Ashland he didn’t get to say he loved her or dream of getting her forgiveness. “you lied to me and you betrayed me and those wounds are too fresh and too deep for that,” she stated. He knew. He wished he could take it all back, except falling in love with her. He loved her more today than he did before, despite all that had broken down between them. She said that their relationship didn’t break down – it was never real in the first place, due to his lies, greed and deception. He accepted her anger, because this did begin as a scheme, but he fell in love with her despite his plan. She told him to stop saying that. He contended that she was terrified to admit she still cared. He told her she could tell him the truth. She was crying. “Of course I still love you,” she admitted.

Victoria said she couldn’t make the feelings go away, no matter how hard she tried. Ashland looked hopeful, but Victoria continued. She said that the pain and anger and hurt wouldn’t disappear either. All her feelings were battling it out, and she couldn’t take it. She just wanted one thing. Before she could say more, Chance showed up with questions about the case. Ashland didn’t like the idea of making Victoria relive the horrors of that night, just to close the books on an accident that no one caused. Victoria said she could handle it. Chance assured Victoria that they could take a break if things got too tough. He wanted to hear about that night. She said that she left work, and Ashland left before her. It was foggy. She wasn’t sure how fast she was going. She was on the phone with her mom, and the next thing she knew… Ashland took over from there. He said he was following Victoria to make sure she got home safe after a tough day at the office. He saw headlights coming at them. Victoria swerved to avoid them, and Ashland tried to, but he got hit in the side. Chance asked Ashland if he was saying that Rey stayed in the wrong lane and made no attempt to avoid the collision. Ashland confirmed it. Chance didn’t think that made sense, because Rey had extensive training driving in dangerous conditions, and if he lost control, he should’ve been able to regain it. Ashland maintained that Rey never regained control. Chance got a text, and he excused himself and left.

Ashland said recounting the events of that night put everything in perspective. Victoria finished a business call. Ashland thought it made sense Victoria removed the painting he had commissioned. She said she destroyed it. He wasn’t surprised. He’d always loved how she was calm and controlled on the outside and an inferno inside. He wanted to talk about the moment where she made him believe they could leave town and start over, then later claimed she’d been lying. She said she did what was necessary to get him to sign the papers. He didn’t believe that. “You meant every word of it. You were completely sincere. And then all that noise got in the way,” he said. He was willing to do whatever it took to get back to that moment. He left. She sighed and looked upward.

At the cottage, Sharon picked up one of Rey’s boots. Someone knocked on the door, and she wiped her eyes and answered the door. It was Adam. He said he was so sorry. He was also sorry he didn’t come earlier. He didn’t want to cause her any stress with her family, so he waited until the coast was clear and she was alone. She supposed she’d better get used to being alone, since that was her life now. Adam made Sharon a fresh pot of coffee. She told him he didn’t have to do that. Someone sent her a lot of coffee. She sadly smiled about someone bringing coffee to a coffeehouse owner. An owner of a diner where Rey used to go when he was working late brought it by. Adam asked how Sharon was coping. She said she was hanging in there. Eventually, she’d come to terms with this and start to heal, she said. He told her that they could skip the platitudes, because that wasn’t who they were to each other. He wanted to know how she really felt. She broke down crying.

Sharon was tired of people treating her like she was porcelain and speaking to her in whispers, asking if she was capable of doing the things she wanted to do. He said he’d never question her strength. She was crushed, angry and gutted. She asked why a worthless piece of filth like Ashland, who faked cancer and contributed nothing of value to the world was still alive. A man who was so good and meant to much to so many was gone. Adam said Rey helped Connor through a tough time. Sharon said her husband had a way of bringing out the best in people. “I was a different me when I was with Rey,” she said. Rey loved her with all his heart, and he loved her family. Nobody knew all the things Rey did for Sharon when she was sick. Rey knew people were flawed and he forgave all her mistakes, not the least of which was the time Adam kissed her. Rey forgave the woman who poisoned him. She said Rey was kind and generous, and he didn’t deserve to have his life end this way. Adam hugged Sharon, and she held onto him.

Adam asked if Sharon got it all out, or if she needed to break some stuff. He was sure there were plenty of dishes for her to smash. It made her laugh. He picked up some crackers and said she should eat to replenish her energy and tear ducts. She smiled and playfully grabbed the crackers. She admitted she hadn’t cried like that since Nick told her. Adam knew that if one of Sharon’s patients had said they were holding their emotions in after a death, she’d tell them that they had to let their feelings out. He said she could do that with an old friend who’d never judge her or pity her. She asked what the alternative was. He said she could cook herself into an early grave, or become an angry widow who made famously bitter coffee. It made her smile, and she said that probably wouldn’t be good for the coffeehouse. He turned serious and said to take a few hours to remind herself that Rey loved her. He promised no one would think less of her for shedding a few tears. He said he’d always be there when she needed him.

Adam said he should leave before Sharon’s entourage showed up and accused him of stealing a basket or trying to insinuate himself into her grief. Chance showed up. Adam was sorry Chance lost his partner. Adam told Sharon to let him know if she needed anything, and he left. Chance was here to deliver information from Rey’s autopsy report. Rey wasn’t killed in the car crash. He had a heart attack. Sharon was shocked and cried. She asked what her husband’s last moments were like. All Chance knew was that the coroner said it was very sudden, and Rey probably never had enough time to feel anything. Sharon didn’t understand how a healthy young man like Rey could have a heart attack. Chance said sometimes these things happened without warning. Sharon admitted that, while she’d been saying that no one was to blame, she’d secretly been very angry with Victoria and Ashland and wondering if they were driving recklessly. She thought she’d just needed someone to blame. Chance understood that, but he said Rey’s heart just started beating too fast, and there was no one to blame.

Update written by Joseph

Jan reveals to Belle that she’s moving in. Belle doesn’t understand as Jan is supposed to be in prison. Jan explains that Shawn came to her rescue, convinced them to let her out and then asked her to move in with him. Shawn argues that’s not how it went down as Jan has a medical condition that requires her to be on bed rest for the duration of her pregnancy. Belle questions Jan not being able to rest in prison. Jan complains that it’s not very restful there. Shawn says that the judge and warden agreed to put Jan on house arrest. Jan talks about how grateful she is to be here while the prison is full of dangerous and unsavory characters.

Devil Allie informs Evan that Ben and Ciara are having a baby. Evan mentions hearing that from Clyde. Allie says the baby is very important to her and also to Ben, but their plan for the kids future don’t really align.

At the DiMera Mansion, EJ calls Johnny, leaving a message that he needs him to sign back over his DiMera shares and he also misses him, so he would like to hear from him. EJ hangs up and looks at a photo of Johnny on the table.

Ben and Johnny hear noise outside. Johnny declares that someone is outside so they are saved as someone then breaks open the door but it’s just the dead Andre DiMera, who questions all the commotion.

Ciara goes home looking for Ben. Ciara wonders where he is since he’s not at work like the note said. Jake arrives, asking if Ben is there because he needs to talk to them. Ciara informs him that Ben is not there as she just woke up this morning and he was gone. Ciara says she’s been looking everywhere but it’s like Ben disappeared in to thin air, so she’s starting to think something really bad happened to him.

Ben thinks Andre is Tony and tries to get him to save them but Johnny tells him to save his breath. Ben complains about Ciara needing him. Johnny then reveals to Ben that it’s not Tony, but Andre.

Belle questions why Shawn would move Jan Spears in to their home. Shawn says it was the only way to get her out and he could keep an eye on her. Jan says she can’t get in to trouble with the ankle monitor on and being on bed rest. Belle questions Shawn not thinking to run this by her before moving her in. Shawn points out that Belle hadn’t been living here. Belle argues that she didn’t move out and was staying with her parents. Shawn argues that Belle said she didn’t want to come home. Belle says she obviously changed her mind. Shawn questions that being why she’s back. Belle confirms that Eric convinced her to come home to try to work things out but obviously that was a huge mistake. Jan smiles as she watches on.

EJ talks on the phone to the head of security at DiMera about trying to track down Johnny. EJ warns that he’s going to be CEO again soon and then he will fire their ass. Susan Banks walk in and tells EJ to do something about his anger. EJ is surprised that Susan is back in town. Susan tells EJ to direct her to Johnny now. EJ says he’s not here and asks what is so urgent. Susan worries that Johnny is in danger.

Ben argues that Andre DiMera is dead after Abigail smashed his head with an urn. Ben asks if Andre is a ghost. Johnny thinks Andre has been summoned by the Devil to do his dirty work. Johnny informs Ben that Andre visited before to use his blood to forge a note, making it seem like he left town. Andre confirms that it worked like a charm. Ben asks why Andre is here this time and what the hell the Devil wants with them now.

Ciara shows Jake the note from Ben that Allie found but Ben wasn’t at the garage and Clyde hasn’t seen him either. Ciara worries about if Ben got in a car accident on his way to work. Ciara talks about the tea that Allie brought over so she worries that Ben could have got in an accident and be lying in a ditch somewhere. Ciara decides she’s calling the police.

Evan doesn’t get what Allie wants with Ben and Ciara’s baby. Allie asks if it matters. Evan argues that he’s a father, so as much as he hates Ben and Ciara, he would never do anything to harm a child. Allie insists that she’s very invested in the baby which is why she wants to get rid of Ben because he could screw everything up. Evan asks if she thinks Ben would be a bad influence on his kid. Allie says it’s something like that so she needs Ben out of the picture and that’s where Evan comes in. Evan asks to be clear if she is asking him to kill Ben Weston.

Shawn asks Belle not to go. Belle asks if she’s supposed to stick around and play three’s company with them. Belle argues that Jan is loving every second of this since she wants him all to herself. Belle declares that’s fine by her.

Devil Allie says Evan is asking an interesting question. Evan asks if that’s what she wants. Allie remarks that it would be kind of fun to watch Ben die but it’d be much more satisfying to torment him for the rest of his life. Evan asks how to do that. Allie brings up when Evan held Ciara captive and made her think Ben die would a fake newspaper article and everything. Evan points out that she didn’t buy it. Allie says that’s because he didn’t have a partner to sell it, so this time they will be much more convincing. Evan feels it will be difficult since he’s stuck in prison. Allie then reveals that she is breaking him out.

Ciara finishes a call with Rafe and informs Jake that he said it’s technically to early to hire a missing persons report but he will get the cops on it as a favor. Jake hopes she hears something soon. Jake decides he will get out of her hair but Ciara asks him to stay or else she will go crazy sitting here alone waiting for him. Ciara brings up that Jake said he had something important to talk to them about. Jake says it can wait but Ciara wants the distraction. Jake says it will sound a little batty as he brings up how they thought Johnny was possessed by the Devil. Jake reveals he’s beginning to think they were right.

EJ asks Susan why she thinks Johnny is in trouble. Susan says she had a strong premonition of Johnny in peril and pain. EJ says he hasn’t seen Johnny in months since by the time he was released from prison, he was gone to Italy. Susan questions Johnny leaving the country without saying goodbye. EJ says his note said that he needed to go find himself. EJ shows Susan the note. Susan shouts that EJ has been deceived as Johnny did not write this.

Ben tells Andre that he’s not writing a letter to trick Ciara in to thinking he left town and that she wouldn’t believe it anyway. Andre points out that Ciara fell for this morning’s note which bought them time to put all the pieces in place, so it’s all coming together. Ben tries to convince Andre to let them go and offers to do anything. Andre then claims he’s here to offer him a deal. Andre offers to grant Ben his freedom on the condition that he kills Johnny.

EJ tells Susan that he knows Johnny’s handwriting and his signature. Susan assures that Johnny did not write the letter. EJ asks how she can tell. Susan says she’s getting electric vibrations from the letter and that someone else definitely wrote it with dark energy. EJ asks who it was. Susan says she’s seeing his face and believes that it was Tony. EJ doubts that since Tony has had his hands full dealing with Anna and Sarah. EJ says it doesn’t make sense for Tony to fake a letter from Johnny. Susan tries again and reveals that it was Andre DiMera. EJ calls that impossible since Andre is dead. Susan guesses somebody forgot to tell him that.

Andre asks Ben if they have a deal. Ben refuses to kill anyone. Andre points out that Ben has done it before and claims this time it’s for a good cause as it’s the chance to reunite with Ciara and their unborn child. Ben is sure there is another way. Andre declares that’s the deal and the terms are not negotiable. Johnny asks why the Devil wants him dead. Andre says the Devil likes to clean up after himself and he’s done with Johnny, but just getting started with Ben. Ben refuses to be a murderer again. Andre says he can see Ben thinking that he could save Johnny by taking his own life but they’ve already dealt with that and calls it the Susan Banks Clause. Ben calls this insane. Andre tells Ben that if he wants to be with Ciara, he just has to kill Johnny in his home and the weapon is up to him. Johnny asks why the Devil doesn’t just kill him, himself. Andre explains that the Devil can’t because Allie puts up too much of a fight but says she is just postponing the inevitable. Andre declares that it will be so entertaining to watch Ben end Johnny’s life. Ben refuses to do it. Johnny thanks Ben. Andre offers Ben a taste of freedom and releases the chains. Ben tries to run out the door but Andre says it’s only a taste of freedom. Ben takes a swing at Andre but he teleports. Andre tells Ben to save his energy to finish off Johnny. Andre then offers Ben a necktie as his weapon of choice but Ben says no. Andre tells Ben that all he has to do is wrap the tie around Johnny’s neck and squeeze, then he will be free to go home to Ciara.

Ciara tells Jake that Johnny wasn’t possessed by the Devil, Belle was, and her own parents performed her exorcism. Jake tells Ciara that he’s been having flashes like dreams but they are happening more and more so he’s starting to think they are memories of Johnny with creepy glowing eyes. Ciara asks if he’s sure. Jake says it was the day that Johnny and Gabi pulled the power move at DiMera where he and Johnny fought and he ended up on the ground. Jake says he’s starting to piece together how he got there and he doesn’t know why his brain would make it up. Ciara suggests maybe it’s just his subconscious coming up with a reason to make Johnny the bad guy. Jake suggests Johnny was possessed and if he was, that means the Devil is still here.

Evan questions Allie planning to break him out. Allie says it will be hard to convince Ciara that he killed Ben if he’s stuck in here. Evan questions why Ciara would believe him when he already told her the same lie. Allie insists that she will take care of it. Evan agrees to be in and asks how they will pull it off. Allie says she has a lot of tricks up her sleeve. Evan points out that she hasn’t told him her name and asks who she is. Devil Allie responds that she goes by a lot of names and she’s more powerful than he could ever imagine which Evan questions. She decides to show him by snapping her fingers and turning out the lights. Evan is shocked and asks what the Hell. The Devil responds that now he’s catching on.

Shawn asks Belle if they can talk about this in private. Belle says there’s no point because he made his choice. Shawn argues that he always chooses her. Belle says it doesn’t feel that way. Shawn argues that he had to do this for the baby but they will make this work. Belle asks how when Jan Spears is living in their house. Shawn insists it’s only until the baby is born and she will be on bed rest the entire time. Belle questions trusting Jan when she tried to kill her more than once. Belle then takes her bag and storms out.

Susan insists to EJ that the letter was written by Andre and that he must have done something to Johnny. EJ assures her that Andre was dead and buried. Susan points out that the Devil owns his soul, so she thinks the Devil brought him back to hurt Johnny. EJ insists that Johnny is fine in Italy. Susan wants EJ to get him on the phone then so she can hear his voice but points out that he can’t. EJ says he left him a message right before she arrived so he will call back soon. Susan asks what if Andre has kidnapped Johnny to do Lucifer’s bidding. EJ asks if he’s a zombie. Susan continues on about her premonition but EJ feels she’s getting worked up over nothing. Susan argues that her grandson is not nothing. EJ tells her to go lie down in the guest room and when Johnny calls, he will come get her. EJ promises that Johnny is fine as he sends her upstairs.

Ciara informs Jake that Johnny is in Italy and apparently left without saying goodbye to anyone. Ciara says it’s killing her waiting around for answers. Jake asks if anyone else would know where Ben is. Ciara says she called Marlena and left a message but she hasn’t gotten back to her either. Jake suggests maybe Ben is in a session with Marlena and that’s why she hasn’t answered. Ciara says that’s possible so she will go to the hospital to check. Jake decides to stay here in case he comes back. Ciara thanks Jake. Jake assures that Ben is okay as Ciara then exits the apartment.

Andre urges Ben that the killer instinct is inside of him but Ben refuses, saying he’s not that person anymore and he can’t kill Johnny. Andre asks why not since unlike the innocent women he strangled, Johnny is arrogant and selfish like a true DiMera so some say he would deserve it. Andre tells Johnny that no one will miss him. Johnny asks Ben not to listen to Andre. Andre guarantees that a deal is a deal, even when it comes to the Devil. Johnny urges Ben not to trust him. Andre warns Ben that time is running out, so it’s now or never and Ciara’s life depends on it.

Shawn calls Belle, leaving a message that they can work this out and asking her to call him. Jan says she’s sorry but Shawn argues that Jan is loving every bit of this. Shawn says he’s going to track Belle down but Jan suggests giving her space or it will make things worse. Shawn warns Jan that she does not get to weigh in on his marriage ever. Jan says she was just trying to give him the female perspective. Jan suggests talking about something more pleasant and says the baby is craving pie, so she asks Shawn to get them some.

EJ calls Tony and says he doesn’t know why he asked because of course he didn’t write the letter. EJ adds that he knows Andre is dead but he knows how Susan gets. EJ wishes Andre luck with Anna and says to let him know if he can be of any help. EJ hangs up as Belle arrives and goes straight to pouring a drink which EJ notes is not a good sign. Belle says she’s just getting started. EJ guesses it’s Jan Spears and asks if Shawn went to visit her in prison. Belle confirms that he did and it will be his last trip to prison because he moved Jan in to her house.

Susan sneaks in to Johnny’s bedroom and finds his red suit jacket. She hugs it and thinks back to arguing with Johnny about him being The Devil. Susan tells herself that she was wrong since Belle was possessed and not Johnny.

Johnny encourages Ben that this is not him and that Andre is trying to corrupt his soul. Andre argues that Ben’s soul is already corrupted and they are all lost causes. Johnny disagrees, reminding Ben of how much progress Marlena said he had made and that he has a good heart. Johnny argues that Ben can’t repay Marlena by killing her grandson. Andre reminds Ben that his wife and child are in danger, so if he doesn’t get to them soon, he will lose them forever. Johnny insists that Andre is lying. Andre tells Ben he has to do this for Ciara or for their child. Andre hands Ben the necktie. Ben approaches Johnny as he begs him not to do this. Ben holds the tie to Johnny’s neck but declares that he can’t do this, because of his love for Ciara and since she saved him from this. Andre calls that unfortunate.

Jake has a beer at Ben and Ciara’s apartment until Evan shows up at the door. Jake asks if he can help him. Evan asks if Ciara is home. Jake says no as she just left. Evan says that’s okay and he’ll wait as he walks in. Jake doesn’t know who he is but tells him he will have to wait somewhere else. Evan claims that Ciara won’t mind as they are old friends. Jake then recognizes Evan as the punk who kept Ciara locked up, asking how he got out of prison. Evan responds that a new friend helped him out which Jake questions. Devil Allie then appears and hits Jake in the head from behind with an object, knocking him out. Allie tells Evan that it’s the second time she’s had to knock Jake out as he’s really becoming a pain in the ass. Evan asks what they are going to do with him. Allie says it wasn’t part of the plan but since he’s here, he may as well make himself useful.

Jan eats the pie that Shawn got her. Jan thinks it’s best that Belle did not stay because they both know stress is bad for the baby and that’s what they need to focus on because nothing is more important than their baby.

Belle tells EJ that she was ready to move home as she wanted to make it work. EJ says he’s so sorry but Jan knows how to get what she wants. Belle talks about Shawn still falling for it after all these years so she doesn’t understand him. EJ says he’s not saying Shawn did the right thing, but as a father, he gets why he would move heaven and earth to protect his child. Belle asks if something is going on with Johnny. EJ responds that he hasn’t heard from him since he left, so he would do anything to know he was safe and sound. Belle asks if he has a reason to believe he’s not. EJ says it’s probably nothing but Susan has it in her head that Johnny could be in danger.

Susan wonders if EJ was right about her psychic powers and decides she just needs some rest. Susan then lays down in the bed with Johnny’s coat and dreams about arguing with Johnny being the Devil where the Devil revealed himself to her and then made her lose her memory. Susan then wakes up in a panic.

Ben is chained back to the wall in the Crypt and prays for God to protect Ciara and their baby. Andre says that Ben could have done that himself but he made the wrong decision. Andre declares that since Ben refused to kill Johnny, the Devil has no need for him either. Johnny asks what he’s saying. Andre announces that since Ben decided to save Johnny’s life, he’s about to end Ben’s.

Ciara returns home and is shocked to find Evan inside. Evan claims he was just catching up with an old friend as he reveals The Devil has transformed Jake so that Ciara sees “Ben” now being unconscious on the floor. Ciara screams out for Ben.

Chanel wakes up with a hangover, wondering what she did last night. Chanel then remembers kissing Tripp. Tripp then shows up at her door with a coffee. Chanel informs him that she was just thinking about him.

Devil Allie has Ben and Johnny chained up in the DiMera Crypt, creating a note from Ben. The Devil warns Johnny to worry about what’s going on with Chanel and Tripp because it looks like they had a rocking time last night, so it sucks to be him. Devil Allie then exits the crypt. Johnny calls out to Ben to wake him up. Ben freaks out realizing he is chained to the wall, questioning what’s going on and where he is.

Ciara wakes up and goes looking for Ben around their apartment. She sees the mug on the table and thinks back to the tea that Allie gave her and then she went straight to bed. Ciara then sees two other mugs next to it.

Shawn asks what Jan wants him to do. Jan argues that he’s an officer of the law so he can pull some strings or call in a favor to get her released. Shawn argues that they won’t let a nutjob with her record out of prison just because she’s pregnant. Jan argues that they are options other than letting her free, like house arrest. Shawn asks whose house, so Jan suggests his. Shawn says she cannot be serious but Jan assures that she is and she wants him to take her home with him.

Eric comes out of the Brady Pub and runs in to Belle. Belle hugs him and mentions that Marlena told her that he was in town. Belle says she’s excited and it’s good to see him. Eric says the same and mentions that Nicole is having breakfast with Rafe inside as they are together now. Belle mentions that she knew and guesses that’s why Eric is outside which he admits. Belle is glad to spend more time with him. Eric apologizes for not being there for her before when she was possessed.

Shawn tells Jan that this is not a simple request since she committed some serious crimes and tried to kill people. Shawn asks if she really thinks a sane judge is going to release her out in to the world to do more damage. Jan argues that she wouldn’t be released out in to the world, but in to the custody of her baby daddy. Shawn tells her not to call him that. Jan insists that if everyone knows she’s living with him, they will know that he’s taking extra special care of her and their baby. Jan argues that Shawn is a detective and was police commissioner, so if anyone can guarantee that she won’t be a danger to the public, it’s him. Shawn tells her it’s not going to happen as she is exactly where she belongs. Jan reminds him that the doctor said she needs to be on total bed rest. Shawn tells her to stay in bed then. Jan asks how that’s possible when every prisoner has to be up by six, in the cafeteria by seven, and back to their cells by eight. Shawn is sure they will make accommodations for her. Shawn offers to talk to the warden about her staying in the infirmary until the baby is born. Jan complains about the amount of diseases flying around the prison and admits she’s not exactly everyone’s favorite prisoner so she doesn’t trust these creeps to take care of her baby. Jan worries that she will end up back in her cell and asks if Shawn really wants to take that kind of a chance with his child’s life.

Belle tells Eric that it all happened really fast and is kind of still a blur, so she’s just grateful that John knew what to do. Belle mentions that she did a lot of terrible things like trying to break up Chad and Abigail plus Gabi and Jake. Eric assures that she is not responsible for any of that. Belle feels that she is but finds it strange that she doesn’t remember doing any of it. Belle says one minute she was at the DiMera Mansion talking to Johnny and then she was upstairs, tied to a bed, and everyone told her she had been possessed. Eric brings up that Marlena said after she was possessed, she had gaps in her memory. Belle says that’s what is strange because she didn’t lose any time at all.

Tripp and Chanel complain about their hangovers. Tripp presents Chanel with an electrolyte replacement drink as a hangover cure. Chanel is hesitant but Tripp insists that she drink it and it will help her forget last night ever happened.

Johnny explains to Ben that Allie is now possessed by the Devil and that Jake was right that Johnny was possessed since Christmas. Johnny adds that he doesn’t remember anything from Marlena’s exorcism until the Devil left him. Ben asks how the hell he got free. Johnny informs him that Allie saved him as she was talking to him, trying to reach out and telling him to fight the Devil so he did and he was winning, but then the Devil must have jumped from him in to his sister. Ben questions what the Devil would want with Allie. Johnny responds that he doesn’t think the Devil is interested in Allie at all as he thinks he wants what he always wanted. Ben realizes that’s Ciara and their baby.

Ciara questions the other tea mugs and wonders why she can’t remember if they were there last night. Allie then shows up at her door and says she brought breakfast, figuring her and Ben would still be tired. Ciara thanks her but notes that Ben is not here and she doesn’t know where he is as he wasn’t there when she woke up. Allie calls that weird. Ciara last remembers Ben taking her to bed after they drank tea. Ciara asks if Allie knows what happened after that. Allie recalls Ben putting Ciara to bed and then they had some tea while they talked about parenting and then she headed out soon after. Ciara calls it weird as she doesn’t remember Ben coming to bed. Allie notes that she was very tired but Ciara says she always wakes up when Ben comes to bed and gets out of bed. Ciara decides to call Ben but it goes straight to voicemail.

Ben tries to break his chains but Johnny warns that he’s going to hurt himself. Ben says he has to get to Ciara. Johnny says he’s tried but the chains are unbreakable. Ben complains about the Devil being after the woman he loves and his baby. Johnny complains that before that, the Devil went after the woman he loves and used him to do that. Ben asks if he’s talking about how he dumped her at a party. Johnny insists it wasn’t him, it was the Devil, and he wanted to make it stick so he called her and taunted her about it and now she hates him. Johnny understands he hurt Chanel in the worst way possible and now she’s off with Tripp. Ben asks how he knows that. Johnny explains that Devil Allie gave him his own private screening of Chanel and Tripp drinking together at the bar. Ben guesses Chanel was drowning her sorrows. Johnny assures that they did a lot more than that and could have even spent the night together.

Tripp informs Chanel that he came to apologize for last night. Chanel asks why and what he did. Tripp says he got drunk, kissed her, and took her home hoping to get her in bed. Chanel reminds him that she was drunk too and is pretty sure she was down to party. Chanel recalls that she led the idea and thinks they only didn’t go through with it because her mom stopped them. Tripp admits he’s kind of glad that she did because if they had gone through with it, they’d be doing it for all the wrong reasons like revenge. Tripp adds that he’s not even sure Johnny and Allie would care.

Eric questions Belle not remembering any of the things she did while possessed. Belle confirms that she only knows what people told her but she doesn’t feel like she lost her memory. Eric doesn’t understand. Belle talks about not having the same experience that Marlena described. Eric wonders if maybe the Devil didn’t have control yet. Belle says he would have had to in order to morph in to EJ or Jake. Belle adds that she never realized she was missing time. Eric wonders if the Devil was making her unaware it was happening and says all that matters is that she’s safe now. Eric hopes that she can put that chapter behind her and move on with her life. Belle wishes she could pretend none of this happened and just move on, but the Devil did so much damage and hurt so many people that it can’t be forgotten or repaired that easily, especially the relationships he wrecked and none more than her own marriage.

Jan tells Shawn that she’s not delusional as she knows how he feels about her, but she can live with that. Jan says no matter how much Shawn dislikes her, he would never take that out on an innocent child, especially not his own because that’s not who he is. Jan calls Shawn a good man and says that’s why she knows he would never want any harm to come to the child. Jan says being a mother made something in her switch because for the first time in her life, somebody is depending on her so she feels like she has purpose and she wants to do everything she can to protect the baby. Jan declares that if something happened in prison, she couldn’t live with that and asks if Shawn could. Jan asks Shawn to talk to the warden for their baby.

Eric tells Belle that Marlena told her about Shawn and Jan. Belle tells Eric that she’s staying with Marlena and John but Shawn wants her to go home. Belle admits she thought about it but they started discussing it and Jan called, so she left. Belle is sure Shawn went to the prison to talk to Jan. Belle thinks Eric will say that it’s Shawn’s baby so she should accept it because she loves him. Eric clarifies that he was going to say if Shawn has to be there for Jan because of the baby, it’s not because he loves her. Belle assures that she knows that but Jan being the mother of his child means Jan will be in their lives forever. Belle asks how to deal with that and how a marriage survives that.

Ben informs Johnny that Allie was in their apartment last night and brought over some tea. Ben recalls putting Ciara in bed and realizes that Allie drugged them both. Johnny confirms Ben was pretty out of it when Allie brought him in. Ben worries that Ciara must have woken up this morning wondering where she could have gone.

Ciara leaves a message for Ben to call her back when he gets it. Allie suggests he must just be busy. Ciara hopes so and decides she’s going to check the garage. Ciara thanks Allie for stopping by. Allie then pulls out the note that the Devil made and claims it must have fallen on the floor. She reads it to Ciara, saying it’s from Ben and that he woke up early and didn’t want to wake her and to have a good time with Allie. Ciara questions how Ben knew Allie would be there. Allie claims she told Ben last night that she would check on her. Allie then remembers that she has something else for her. Ciara says she didn’t have to bring her anything. Allie gives her a baby tuxedo that was Henry’s and mentions having a lot of clothes that he has outgrown, plus toys and bottles that she can have. Ciara calls that very thoughtful of her. Allie guesses she should’ve asked first and worries that she made it awkward but Ciara reassures her. Allie talks about her pregnancy being overwhelming and how she didn’t want to be a mom at first. Allie says seeing Ciara and Ben’s joy lets her see what she missed out on so she just wants to be part of it. Ciara tells Allie that she loves that she wants to be a part of it and they will be grateful for her to join them on this journey as they hug.

Chanel tells Tripp that she is the one who should be apologizing to him for stealing his girlfriend. Chanel says she was supposed to be his friend and broke the bro code. Chanel says regardless of how she felt about Allie, she was his girlfriend and she’s sorry for the way it happened. Chanel talks about how she was hurting because of what Johnny did to her and she’s ashamed that she wasn’t thinking about how hurt Tripp would be. Chanel says she knows now that was so wrong and she’s really sorry. Tripp says at the end of the day, Allie is the one who cheated on him. Tripp thanks Chanel for saying that though and says it means a lot.

Belle tells Eric that everyone keeps telling her that it’s not Shawn’s fault that he betrayed her but he lied to her for months and kept it from her. Eric says she has every right to be angry but says there’s no looking back. Eric wishes he had been more forgiving with Nicole instead of judging her so harshly as it caused him to lose her and his marriage which he doesn’t want to happen to Belle. Belle doesn’t want to lose Shawn but she doesn’t know if she’s ready to go home. Eric tells her that she can’t avoid him forever. Belle asks how to know when she’s ready. Eric tells her that she can’t find the answers by avoiding her husband, so the only way to make it through this mess is to go home and work this out together. Eric hugs Belle.

Shawn informs Jan that he just spoke to the warden and he’s not thrilled about letting a dangerous prisoner back in to the world. Jan asks if she’s really dangerous anymore. Shawn says that ultimately this would be left up to the judge who sentenced her but apparently they have extreme overcrowding. Shawn reveals that if she were to be released in to his custody, it would be solving the warden’s problem. Shawn says he guaranteed that he would be responsible for her. Jan asks if that means yes. Shawn confirms that the judge signed off so it is a yes as Jan excitedly hugs him. Shawn puts an ankle monitor on Jan and warns her that if she tries to leave the house without permission, she will be swarmed by unfriendly cops. Jan remarks that she just hopes Belle will be okay with this. Shawn informs her that she won’t have to worry about Belle because she’s staying at her mom’s. Jan asks if she moved out. Shawn says for now and confirms it’s because of her. Jan apologizes and says she knows it’s her fault and that Shawn feels guilty for not telling Belle they slept together. Shawn declares that he needs to hold himself accountable for his actions. Jan insists that she is sorry. Shawn tells her to stop pretending she cares about his marriage. Jan says she cares about him and bringing the baby in to a warm, loving environment. Jan declares that for now it will just be the three of them.

Belle agrees with Eric that she won’t solve any of her problems by running from them, so she will go get her stuff from Marlena’s. Eric tells her that he’s here for her, whatever she needs. Belle thanks him and says he always knows what to say. Belle adds that if Eric doesn’t want to deal with Nicole and Rafe, he can come help her. Eric says he will take his own advice as he and Nicole are divorced so she moved on with her life and he needs to move on with his.

Allie gives Ciara more baby clothes and talks about all the gifts the baby will get. Allie offers to help Ciara with a registry. Ciara says she’s still really worried about Ben, so she’s going to the gargage to check on him. Allie reminds her that she saw the note. Ciara knows it seems silly but she feels like she really needs to see Ben. Ciara thanks Allie for everything and goes to her room. The Devil remarks that Ciara is stubborn and won’t rest until she finds Ben, so he’ll have to do something a little more drastic.

Ben asks Johnny what if Ciara thinks he just left her and the baby because of the Devil. Ben argues that they have to do something because the Devil is after his wife and baby. Johnny says he’s sorry but he’s tried everything. Ben brings up the Crypt being on Johnny’s family property and asks if anybody ever comes back here. Johnny says sometimes they pay respects to dead relatives. Ben asks how often and when he last came in. Johnny says he came last Halloween to scout locations for his movie and it turned out that John was locked up here but he didn’t find him because the Devil stopped him. Johnny mentions hearing voices the other day and trying to yell for help but nobody heard him. Ben tries screaming for help but Johnny says he’s wasting his time. Ben asks if he has a better idea, so they try screaming together.

Shawn sets up at home when Belle comes in with her bag, surprising him. Belle tells him that she’s been thinking about everything, so she wanted to come home. Jan then comes in and says she knows she should be resting. Jan then says what a surprise to seeing Belle. Belle responds that she could say the same thing and questions what the hell Jan is doing here. Jan reveals that she’s moving in, shocking Belle.

Chanel tells Tripp that she feels cured of her hangover and now she’s hungry. Tripp says he is too so they exit together.

Ciara goes to the Brady Pub and is surprised to see Eric. They hug and talk about how good it is to see each other. Ciara says she was looking for Clyde, hoping he could tell her where Ben is. Eric asks if something is wrong. Ciara hopes not but says she woke up this morning and Ben was gone with a note that he was at work but she just drove by the garage and he was nowhere to be found.

Devil Allie goes to prison to visit Evan Frears aka Christian Maddox, the son of Orpheus, who held Ciara prisoner last year. Allie claims to be a big fan of his work. Christian asks who the hell she is. She responds that she’s his new best friend because she’s about to offer him a chance at revenge on Ben Weston. He tells her that she has his attention. She says they have so much to talk about.

Ben and Johnny continue screaming for help. Ben argues that sooner or later someone will walk by but Johnny says it’s no use. They then hear noise outside. Johnny declares that someone is outside so they are saved as someone then breaks open the door.

Devil Allie tells Christian that she is going to call him Evan because she’s not a fan of Christian. She says they have a lot in common such as being bisexual. He tells her to get to the part where she helps him get revenge on Ben. She says that’s the other thing they have in common, hating Ben. Evan declares Ben is the reason he lost everything and the reason he’s in here. Allie talks about Ben ruining Evan’s plans by rescuing Ciara, otherwise he’d be out living his best life but instead he’s in here while Ben and Ciara are happily married. She declares that now Ben is getting in her way and she just can’t have that, so that’s where he comes in.
