Steffy: Look, we love each other. And our family is safe and secure, so we don’t have to think or talk about anything else, right now.

Finn: You’re not worried about thomas and douglas being so far away?

Steffy: No. No, douglas is curious and he’s intelligent. He’s gonna be really happy. He and thomas are gonna have so much fun in paris.

Finn: Okay, but they’ve been happy here.

Steffy: Look, is it gonna be an adjustment? Yeah, it– it will. It’s gonna take some time, but it was the right move. I’m just really relieved that hope’s not in thomas’ life anymore.

Beth: Hi, daddy!

Liam: Oh, my goodness! What a great surprise! I can’t believe it!

Hope: Laurel’s mom actually just took the kids to the movies.

Liam: Oh, to a movie? Ah. Did you have a good time?

Beth: Yeah, we ate so much popcorn. Maybe mommy can come next time.

Liam: You know, it’s funny you say that. I’ll tell you something about mommy and me. We love a good drama.

Hope: Hm.

Liam: Don’t we? We do.

Beth: I love being together.

Deacon: I told the florist to, uh, you know, keep it understated. Classy.

Hollis: Okay, well the chef wanted me to ask you about the guest count.

Deacon: I’m working on it.

[ Indistinct chatter ] Give me a second. Well, it is good to have the logans back. I’ll have a table for you in just a minute.

Brooke: You didn’t have to rush over to say hello.

Deacon: I was kind of hoping you’d stop in.

Donna: Well, we’ll be here more often now that sheila’s gone. Oh my, I’m– I’m so sorry, deacon, I…

Katie: We– we know that you were, um, close to her.

Brooke: How are you doing?

Deacon: I’m doing okay. I’m actually in the middle of planning an event, which you’re invited to. Doubt you’re gonna wanna come.

Brooke: Oh, what is it?

Deacon: Uh, it’s a memorial service for sheila.

Donna: Oh, so you’re planning a service for sheila.

Katie: Where?

Deacon: Here. You know, not everybody hated her the way you did, katie. I mean, she had friends here at work. She was funny. She was generous. I mean, I know you never saw that side of her, so I don’t expect you to understand.

Brooke: You do understand why we need to decline.

Deacon: Absolutely. It’s gonna be small, but I am gonna reach out to hope and finn.

Hope: It is nice when we get to do things together, isn’t it?

Liam: Yeah, it’s been a minute, hasn’t it? Uh, schedule might look a little different now, so if it starts to feel a little emptier, I’ll be around.

Beth: Can we go see the baby hippo at the zoo?

Liam: What– what? There’s– there’s a baby hippo at the zoo?

Beth: Can we go this weekend?

Hope: Sure, if your dad isn’t too busy.

Liam: Are you kidding me? Let me tell you something. Do you know what my two favorite things in the whole universe are? You and baby hippos. So, I think it’s settled. And maybe if daddy takes enough anti-nausea medication, we can even ride the carousel!

Beth: Yay! I can’t wait!

Liam: I can’t wait either!

Finn: We’ve said enough about hope and thomas. And debating their relationship, it’s just gonna cause tension in ours, and I don’t want that.

Steffy: I– I get that you feel for hope. Like, I had to defend my brother. I didn’t like the way hope was treating him.

Finn: So, you convinced him to leave town and end his relationship with her?

Steffy: No. No, I encouraged him. It was his decision. It was a courageous one, a healthy one and I support it. 100%. Look, if– you don’t have to. We don’t always have to agree. But I don’t want to, like, tiptoe around each other. Like, our– our marriage shouldn’t be fragile, you know? We should be there for each other. Loving each other. If you spit blood when you brush,

Liam: Okay, I want to know, were there any scary parts in the movie?

Beth: Yeah, but I wasn’t scared. Laurel was. I held her hand, told her, good guys always win.

Liam: Oh, my god. See, do you know, you get that from your mother.

Hope: Aw, aren’t we lucky to share such a sweet, smart, funny little girl?

Liam: Yes, we are.

[ Phone chimes ] Uh.

Hope: Ha, guess what? Alexis is ready. You gonna help her pick out some fabric swatches?

Beth: Yes.

Liam: Oh, my god, my daughter is busier than I am. Come here! You have the best, best, best, best time, okay?

Beth: I love you, daddy.

Liam: I love you too. More than the alphabet will let me tell you.

Hope: Um, don’t worry, we’re gonna see him this weekend, okay?

Liam: Yeah, it’s nice to have something to look forward to.

Hope: Uh, will you stick around? I’ll be right back.

Liam: Yeah, mm-hmm.

Hope: All right, lead the way.

Hollis: Ladies, is there anything else I can get for you?

Brooke: Ah, no, this is great, thank you. Good to see you.

Hollis: Good to see you too, brooke.

Deacon: How’s everything taste?

Donna: Oh, really good.

Brooke: Yeah, it’s delicious.

Deacon: Okay.

Brooke: Oh, wait, we didn’t mean to be cruel.

Deacon: No, no, no, of course not, I know.

Katie: Look, it’s just– I’m sure hope is being supportive, but asking her to celebrate sheila’s life, I just– I think that’s a mistake.

Donna: Yeah, and you probably shouldn’t count on finn either.

Deacon: I don’t know about that, donna. I mean, I think there’s always been a connection between sheila and finn. I mean, it’s like a undeniable bond.

Katie: Sheila caused him so much pain. She was a constant threat to his family. I mean, I can’t imagine that there’s any memory of her that he would want to recall.

Deacon: Well, he’s still her son, and I think he deserves to know about his birth mother’s memorial.

[ Phone rings ]

Steffy: The hospital?

Finn: No. This is dr. Finnegan.

Deacon: Hey, finn, uh, it’s deacon. Hi.

Finn: Deacon, hey.

Deacon: Listen, I know you’re busy, you’ve got a lot going on with the family, but I wanted to give you a heads up. I’m gonna be having a memorial service for sheila.

Finn: Oh.

Deacon: Yeah, it’s gonna be here at the restaurant. It’s gonna be small. I’ve only told a couple people. Look, I know things with you and sheila were complicated, even more so now with everything that’s gone on. With the way sheila passed, I… finn, listen to me. She was your mother. She brought you into this world, and I know that she let you go, but she never forgot about you. Please try and stop by.

Finn: Yeah, um, I don’t know about that, deacon.

Deacon: You were so important to her. I know she’d want you here. You know, sheila could never have the relationship she wanted with you, but finn, I’m telling you, she loved you. She loved you more than anything in this world.

Finn: Well, uh, thanks for letting me know.

Steffy: Letting you know what? What was that about?

Finn: Um, sorry, I just– um, I wasn’t expecting that.

Steffy: Why did deacon call you?

Finn: He’s having a memorial service for sheila. And he wants me to be there.

Bother the bugs.

Brooke: What did finn say?

Deacon: Um, not much. He was kind of surprised.

Brooke: Okay, well, we just don’t want you to get your hopes up.

Deacon: Maybe a little better luck with my own kid.

Brooke: Oh, deacon.

Liam: Hey. Well, our daughter’s enthusiasm sure is infectious, isn’t it?

Hope: Yes, she was really excited to help alexis pick out some fabric.

Liam: Yeah.

Hope: I meant what I said earlier. We’re really lucky to have such a smart, just kind, funny, and happy little girl.

Liam: We are. We should be– we should be grateful every day.

[ Phone rings ]

Hope: Uh, sorry. Hey, dad.

Deacon: Hey, daughter. You got a minute?

Hope: Uh, yeah, sure. Um, sure. How are you? I’ve been thinking about you.

Deacon: That’s sweet. I’ve been hanging in there.

Hope: Me too.

Deacon: Listen, I know that this is not a great subject for us, but you’ve been so supportive lately.

Hope: Are you calling about sheila?

Deacon: Hope, I know you were never gonna accept sheila in my life.

Hope: Well, I know you cared about her, and you miss her.

Deacon: I do. Which is why I’m calling. I’m gonna have a memorial service for her here at the restaurant soon.

Hope: For sheila?

Deacon: Yeah, um, look, um, no pressure, all right? I just– you’ve really been there for me.

Hope: Dad, I…

Deacon: Look, you know, I know it’s a lot to ask. I just wanted to extend the invitation.

Hope: I mean, I’m kind of in the middle of something right now, so I don’t really have an answer for you, but could i take some time?

Deacon: Yeah, yeah, of course. And if it makes any difference, I invited finn too.

Hope: So he’s gonna be there?

Deacon: I don’t know. Maybe. But it sure would mean a lot if you were. Think about it.

Hope: I will.

Liam: Well, that was… interesting from my point of view. Everything okay?

Hope: Yeah, uh, my dad just extended an invitation. You’ll never guess to where.

Steffy: Is deacon out of his mind? What is he thinking?

Finn: I– I don’t know.

Steffy: He wants you to go to sheila’s memorial at il giardino. The place where she shot us and left us to die?

Finn: The irony’s not lost on me either. I mean, it’s his restaurant, she worked there. I mean, he— he sounded pretty broken up about it.

Steffy: Well, he should keep his grief to himself.

Finn: He didn’t pressure me, steffy. He assumed I would say no.

Steffy: Then why would he call you? I mean, if he actually believes that you’re gonna go, then he’s a bigger fool than I thought.

Finn: Well, it never occurred to me that there would even be a service.

Steffy: There shouldn’t be a service. Not for sheila. Finn, we were just talking about this. That we should concentrate on us. Our future. Our family. Sheila caused so much pain. She tore our family apart. Tell me this is over. Tell me you’re not gonna go to sheila’s memorial. (Chef vo) fancy feast.

Brooke: You spoke to hope.

Deacon: I’ll tell you, that kids blows me away with her compassion.

Brooke: Yeah.

Deacon: Asked how I was doing, first thing.

Katie: You told her about the memorial service?

Deacon: Yeah, I did. It– it kinda caught her off guard. Seems like everybody’s pretty much forgotten about sheila. I mean, I don’t even know if hope’s gonna come.

Brooke: You can’t pressure her or guilt trip her.

Deacon: No, no way. I would never do that.

Katie: She likes to please people. If she senses that you’re hurting– I am hurting. It hurts like hell. I miss sheila. You know, I thought I could help her. I thought I could give her a fresh start. And hope has been so supportive. She’s been so caring and helpful. You know what she did the minute she found out? She came over here to make sure that I wasn’t alone. I mean, that, it– it meant the world to me. And it would mean a lot to me if she was here for the service.

Liam: So, how are you? You okay?

Hope: Oh, just a little blindsided.

Liam: Yeah, I’ll bet. Deacon can’t expect you to– to attend sheila’s memorial.

Hope: Well, he did ask me to be there for him.

Liam: Yeah, no, I know. You’ve been there for him. This is a whole other level. Asking you to sit around and listen to a bunch of his employees say nice things about the boss’s psycho girlfriend.

Hope: I just– I think he needs to say goodbye in his own way.

Liam: Yeah, I know. Some of us need to say good riddance in our own way.

Hope: I feel the same way, liam.

Liam: Okay.

Hope: I was not a fan of sheila’S. I mean, I already lost so much time with my dad, and then she drove a wedge between us even more, and not to mention all of the horrific things that she has done to people I care about.

Liam: Hope, just say no. You don’t have to do it. Nobody else is gonna go to this thing.

Hope: Well, he– he did invite finn.

Liam: You think finn’s gonna go?

Hope: I don’t know. But after all of the things that sheila’s put him through, I, um, but at the same time, that is his birth mother. And if there’s anyone who might want to pay his respects, it– it might be finn.

Steffy: There’s no reason for you to attend. Deacon’s crazy to ask.

Finn: Well, maybe it’s his way of closing the chapter.

Steffy: The chapter’s closed, finn. Look, I understand that this is difficult for you. She’s your birth mother. You have some kind of connection, but she’s– she’s gone. She died. She died right here, and we’re both struggling with that. Deacon should be aware of that.

Finn: He just told me what he’s planning, that’s all.

Steffy: Well, going there is gonna remind us of what happened. Sheila coming here, she chose to hurt me, she wanted to kill me, and I had to defend myself. Have we forgotten? She came here. I didn’t want to do anything, but I had no choice. Like, what do you expect?

Finn: I know. I know all this. Honey, I do not blame you for her death.

Steffy: No, I just– I want to put it behind us. Because I want to feel like she can’t hurt us anymore.

Finn: Sweetheart, she can’T. Okay? I’m sorry– I’m sorry that this is still so difficult. We’re gonna be okay. There’s no reason to dredge all this up. You know where I stand. Right? With you. Our family. You’re my priority.

Steffy: I’m gonna get ready and go to the office.

Finn: Okay.

Steffy: I love you.

Finn: I love you.

Finn: Mom, thank you. You saved her. Steffy, where’s sheila?

Steffy: Sheila’s dead.

Deacon: You were so important to her. I know she’d want you there. You couldn’t have the relationship that she wished for, but she loved you, finn. More than anything in this world.

Steffy: You know what sheila did. The pain she caused our families. But it’s over now. Tell me it’s over. You won’t go to sheila’s memorial.

Cole: So, claire didn’t tell anyone she was going out by herself?

Victoria: Just one of the guards. But she wouldn’t say where she was going, which put all of these horrible thoughts into my head.

Cole: About jordan?

Victoria: She’s out there somewhere.

Cole: Yeah, I know. And I completely understand why everyone is on such high alert. But the whole world is looking for jordan. I mean, she can’t hide forever.

Victoria: I know that. But every time we find her, she seems to slip away. She’s evil, cole. She’s diabolical. Sometimes, I wonder if she’s even human. And when I couldn’t find claire, I–

Cole: Okay, but it worked out. She came home.

Victoria: Yeah, this time.

Cole: We can’t keep her in a bubble, vic. She’s not a little girl anymore. She is a grown woman who’s trying to overcome a lifetime of brainwashing. So, she’s– she’s– she’s hoping that she can find her place in this world. I mean, she has a new home, a new family, not to mention there’s a crazy woman out there somewhere who’s planning god knows what. It is a lot to throw at somebody all at once. And I think claire is handling it beautifully. I mean, she’s smart, she’s careful, she’s resourceful. And she’s a lot stronger than we think. So, I say, let’s give her some slack. I’m sorry. That? Was I delivering a sermon just now?

Victoria: No. Once again, you were– you were telling me exactly what I needed to hear.

Mariah: Oh, my god, we got it.

Tessa: No.

Mariah: Yeah! Oh, my god! That’s amazing!

Victoria: I wonder what that’s all about.

Mariah: Cheers.

Phyllis: Hey.

Billy: Oh. Hey. Slow down. Bartender’s not going anywhere.

Phyllis: Just, it’s been a day.

Billy: Yeah?

Phyllis: Yeah.

Billy: I’ve had a few of those myself lately. What do you say? You want to belly up and commiserate?

Phyllis: Oh, not tonight.

Billy: Really? Old friends? Solve the world’s problems?

Phyllis: Wouldn’t that be something?

Billy: Yeah. Come on, I’m buying.

Phyllis: Maybe another time.

Billy: Just be careful, okay? Because I see you gearing up for a heck of a headache tomorrow morning, so let me do this. Let me get one of your famous hangover concoctions. I’ll get it sent up to your room. At least it’ll be there bright and early, just in case you need it. Hm? No?

Heather: We, uh, we knew this was a possibility.

Daniel: Absolutely.

Heather: So, we just have to keep remembering what’s important, which is that our family is reunited, and you and I, you and I are where we’re supposed to be, where we should have been all along.

Daniel: And we’re unemployed.

Heather: And unemployed.

Daniel: It would have been nice if this had happened before I dumped all that money into redecorating my new place.

Heather: I definitely should have gotten a less expensive car when I got back from portugal.

Daniel: Oh, lily did promise both of us severance packages.

Heather: She did, I know, but that will only last so long. We need a plan moving forward.

Daniel: Definitely need a plan.

Heather: Definitely. What’s your idea for the first move?

Daniel: I was hoping you had some ideas. Looking for a smarter way to mop?

Announcer: Additional sponsorship provided by…

Cole: Hey!

Mariah: Hi!

Tessa: Hi!

Victoria: So, what’s the celebration?

Cole: Yeah, did somebody win the lottery or what?

Mariah: Oh, no, so much better than that. Do you want to show ’em?

Tessa: Yeah.

Mariah: Okay.

Tessa: Here.

Victoria: Oh!

Cole: Oh, nice.

Victoria: It’s a house.

Mariah: It’s not just any house.

Tessa: It’s our house. We closed today.

Victoria: Wow! Great!

Cole: Congratulations!

Victoria: That’s wonderful.

Tessa: Thank you so much.

Mariah: Yeah, we were spending all of our spare time going to one open house after another and we just couldn’t find anything that fit.

Tessa: Yeah. Until we found this one. It has a yard and a big playroom for aria.

Mariah: And oh, there’s this little loft area. We’re going to turn this into a music room for my insanely talented wife.

Tessa: It’s just perfect.

Mariah: We are officially living the dream. Um, I’m so sorry. I didn’t realize. Here we are going on and on about our new house and you just lost yours.

Victoria: No, you don’t have to apologize.

Mariah: No, victoria, it was insanely insensitive. I’m sure that was devastating.

Victoria: Yes, it was. But, um, you know, we’ll always have those memories and no one can take that away from me. And someday there will be a new house and new memories. So, you guys should enjoy this moment. I’m very happy for you. Congratulations.

Cole: Yeah.

Mariah: Thank you.

Tessa: I know what you mean about memories. I was looking around at the tack house today and it hit me all at once that this will always be aria’s first home. Her room, her crib, all those nights checking in on her to make sure she was okay.

Mariah: Oh, yeah.

Tessa: I know it’s time to leave, but it’s going to be hard, you know?

Victoria: Yes, I do know.

Cole: Well, you know, victoria and I used to live together in the tack house back in the day.

Mariah: Shut up! Really?

Cole: Yeah, absolutely. So, you know, does the upstairs shower handle still stick?

Victoria: I’m pretty sure that it’s been through a few remodels since then. You probably wouldn’t even recognize the place.

Cole: Oh, I don’t know about that. I mean, they can knock down a few walls and move some furniture around, but I’m still pretty sure that what made it a really great place is still there.

Mariah: Well, I have an idea. Why don’t you guys come see for yourselves?

Tessa: Yeah!

Cole: No, no, no, it’s okay. I’m sure you ladies have a lot of packing to do.

Mariah: No, no. We have three days until we move into the new place.

Tessa: And a bottle of champagne that we would love to share.

Mariah: Yeah, this is true. It would be our pleasure.

Victoria: So, how do you feel about a trip down memory lane?

Heather: Okay, time to get serious.

Daniel: Agreed.

Heather: I’ll give michael a call in the morning. He will know if there’s any firms around town who are looking to hire, and, uh, christine, she probably still has some connections at the da’s office. I could go back there. It’s worth a shot.

Daniel: Okay, good. Cool. And what am I going to be doing while you’re running around town prosecuting or defending criminals?

Heather: You’re going to wait for the right opportunity. I don’t want you to just have to settle on anything. I really want you to find something you’re passionate about. Like omegasphere.

Daniel: Well, that train has left the station.

Heather: I just can’t believe that you’re not feeling this more deeply.

Daniel: I am feeling it. There’s nothing I can really do about it. When I signed over omegasphere to chancellor-winters, the deal was I would continue to run it. I would no longer own it, and now I’m no longer running it either.

Heather: I don’t know who will. I mean, who do you think will?

Daniel: That’s not my choice to make.

Heather: Well, whoever they do hire, they will not have the same vision and talent that you did, and they won’t have poured their heart and their soul into that place. There’s no way they could have inspired a game like princess louisa, which you created for lucy, our daughter. Where do you find something like that?

Daniel: I don’t know. Maybe you don’T. Maybe that’s, uh, one to a customer.

Heather: I don’t believe that and I really don’t think you do deep down. Okay, this is more than just losing a job. This is like losing a part of yourself. And I understand. I’m sorry. I don’t mean to make you feel worse.

Daniel: No, you’re right. It’s fine. I mean, up until now, I hadn’t really let myself think about what I was giving up, but omegasphere, princess louisa, they helped get me through losing my family. They also helped bring both of you back to me again. I mean, that platform, that game, that was my salvation. I couldn’t replace that if I tried.

Phyllis: You used to be better at reading the room, billy.

Billy: No, I’m not an idiot. No, I get it. I know you don’t want me here, but I was just thinking maybe our snarky little back and forth could pull you out of your funk.

Phyllis: Who says I’m in a funk?

Billy: Your face does.

Phyllis: What about your funk?

Billy: Mine?

Phyllis: Yeah. Last time I talked to you, you were locked in some power struggle with the winters family. You know? That can’t be fun.

Billy: Look at us, huh? We’re having a conversation now.

Phyllis: Yeah, I mean, you are outnumbered by them. You really are. Just you against the winters family. You’re just trying to get a little credit, right? Trying to get some respect and some love. Not having any success at any turn. And then, you’re labeled difficult. Yeah. Difficult. And that’s how people see you from there on out, just difficult.

Billy: Oh, I get it. We’re not talking about me anymore, are we?

I have moderate to severe

crohn’s disease.

Billy: Thank you very much.

Phyllis: Honestly, billy, I couldn’t care less if people think that I’m difficult. You, on the other hand…

Billy: Will be just fine.

Phyllis: So you say.

Billy: Oh, I know. I will be just fine at work. That’s not gonna be a problem. It’s your son that you should be concerned about.

Phyllis: Why? What happened?

Billy: Have you not talked to daniel yet today?

Phyllis: No, no, I haven’T. Just tell me, what happened?

Billy: Well, I’m just gonna assume that you know that daniel and heather are back together.

Phyllis: I know. Yeah, of course I know. I mean, of course he– yeah. I mean, I’m gonna take a little credit for, you know, making that happen.

Billy: Yeah, that’s not surprising. Well, while you’re busy patting yourself on the back, you should know that there’s fallout to this grand love story.

Phyllis: What fallout?

Billy: Repercussions, phyllis. You know, not only to the company, but to the people involved. Like lily. She was the last one to know. And I’m sure you can appreciate she’s having a difficult time with it.

Daniel: I took my eye off the ball. When I signed away omegasphere to chancellor-winters, I thought I was gonna be building my brand and helping to secure my future. It just didn’t occur to me what I could be losing. Especially princess louisa. But, I mean, of course they’d want that, too, right? I mean, why wouldn’t they? That’s the most successful game that they have. And now they can take it and they can assign the character to anyone. They can spin her off in directions that would be totally wrong.

Heather: Because they don’t know her or who she represents.

Daniel: How did I let this happen?

Heather: No. Daniel. You didn’t do anything wrong. We didn’t do anything wrong. We fell back in love. That was our crime. And lily is going to make us pay for it by taking away the one thing that she knows will hurt us the most.

Daniel: The irony is that platform was all supposed to be about empowerment. Helping you work through your obstacles. I mean, it definitely helped me overcome mine and now it’s all being taken away from me right after it achieved its purpose of bringing my family back.

Heather: Maybe there’s a chance that we can get it back.

Daniel: You know, the contract’s pretty straightforward. Chancellor-winters, they own omegasphere outright. And I’m pretty sure that lily is not going to be feeling very generous right about now.

Heather: We have to try anyway.

Daniel: Heather.

Heather: No, daniel, this is too important. Okay, maybe we don’t get the platform back, but we at least have to fight for princess louisa. For lucy’s sake. You cannot just let this go.

Victoria: Oh, good. You’re still up and all dressed.

Claire: Why? What’s going on?

Cole: Well, you know how you’re always asking questions about your mother and me and the life you missed?

Claire: Yes, and I still feel like I haven’t even scratched the surface.

Cole: Well, actually, instead of telling you stories, we could show you.

Claire: Show me what?

Victoria: Where it all began for us.

If you have wet amd,

Mariah: Hi, guys.

Tessa: Great, you made it!

Mariah: The champagne is on ice, so come on in.

Victoria: Thank you. Thank you.

Cole: Thanks for having us.

Mariah: Hi.

Claire: Hi.

Mariah: I’m sorry that everything is such a mess. It’s amazing how much stuff you accumulate.

Tessa: Yeah, especially with the baby who outgrows her clothes every five minutes.

Victoria: I understand. I’ve been there. Well, when you invited us over, cole and I thought it would be nice if we brought our daughter to see where we used to live. I hope that’s all right.

Tessa: Oh, my gosh, of course it is.

Mariah: Hi. You must be claire. I’m mariah. We’ve heard so much about you.

Claire: Well, then I guess I should probably begin with an apology.

Mariah: No, absolutely not. There are no judgments or apologies in this house. Tessa and I have done many things over the years that we are not particularly proud of.

Claire: Okay.

Tessa: Well, maybe we should go out for margaritas one night, get to know each other for real, not just the dramatic headlines.

Mariah: Oh, absolutely. Sounds like a plan to me.

Cole: You’re right. It is different.

Victoria: I told you.

Cole: It’s just funny how you can envision a place in your head and it always stays the same. It’s like time stood still. You know, that was the breakfast table right over there.

Claire: I still can’t imagine you guys living here together.

Cole: Well, we weren’t just living here. This is the place where your mother and I fell in love.

Daniel: I don’t want to turn this into a war. I hurt lily. There’s no way around that.

Heather: Lily has every right to be angry, on a personal level. She has no right to go after your business and your creation.

Daniel: The contract I signed says otherwise.

Heather: I want to see it.

Daniel: How is that going to help?

Heather: I’m an attorney, remember? Maybe there’s a case for unlawful termination. Maybe we can peel off some of omegasphere’s assets, put it in a separate entity. I won’t know until I see it.

Daniel: I don’t know.

Heather: Look, daniel, if lily wants to keep the platform, but give you back princess louisa, that’s a fair trade. That is a decent thing to do in a situation like this. And if she doesn’t, any good lawyer will tell you there is a case here.

Daniel: Right. So, you’re telling me we’re going to file a case that basically says I broke lily’s heart and now she’s trying to punish me for it. That’s so personal and so humiliating.

Heather: Is it any different than what devon and lily are doing right now, trying to cheat you out of something that you created? No, it’s not. And if they’re going to play hardball, we can play just as hard. This is not right, daniel. You deserve to keep your dream.

Billy: Lily’s hurt, phyllis. She feels betrayed, and she’s not in the mood to play nice.

Phyllis: Well, what does that mean exactly?

Billy: It means that the last time I saw lily and devon together, they were discussing firing daniel and heather.

Phyllis: Whoa, what?

Billy: I tried to talk them out of it, but they’re not listening, okay? So, you might want to give daniel a heads-up.

Phyllis: That’s outrageous.

Billy: Well, I know. I agree.

Phyllis: Omegasphere is daniel’s baby, and what, she wants to fire him because of some relationship issue? Really? Is lily that petty? Oh, my god, that’s– if somebody wants out of a relationship, if it’s not working for them, you just acknowledge that and let them go and wish them luck in their life. You don’t turn into a snake and go for the throat. I mean, you don’t make vengeance your number-one priority. I mean, that is so childish. Shut up. Ahh. It’s a good day to cough. Announcer: The young and the restless will continue.

Mariah: Right?

[ Tessa laughs ]

Tessa: Mm. Uh oh.

Mariah: Yep, that sounds like an “I’m not going back to bed anytime soon” cry.

Tessa: No, I’ll go up.

Mariah: No, no, no, we’ll do a two-person job. You distract her, I’ll change her.

Tessa: Okay, okay.

Both: Excuse us.

Tessa: Yeah, sorry.

Victoria: No, it’s not a problem. Hey.

Cole: Hmm?

Victoria: What are you thinking?

Cole: You and me living here.

Victoria: Yeah. Seems like a lifetime ago.

Cole: Yeah. We did have some times, though, didn’t we?

Victoria: Yeah, we had some good times.

Cole: And some that weren’t so good.

Victoria: You remember when we had that fight and you stormed out of the house right into that blizzard?

Cole: Yeah, and then you locked me out.

Victoria: No, I did not lock you out. I thought you were off sulking somewhere, so I went upstairs and went to bed. You’re lucky that I looked out the window and saw you shivering out there in the snow.

Cole: Never leave the house in the winter when you’re not wearing pants. That’s a free tip.

Victoria: Well, at least I took pity on you and I let you back in.

Cole: You know, yes, you did, and I was very grateful for that.

Claire: What were you two arguing about?

Cole: Uh, gee, actually, I don’t remember. It was probably something stupid.

Victoria: Yeah, we weren’t exactly the maturest of adults back then.

Cole: Yeah, well, you speak for yourself. No, your mom was right. We were just kids.

Claire: Sounds like you two were very much in love.

Cole: Yeah, we were.

Victoria: So, what do you think of the place?

Claire: I like it.

Victoria: Yeah, I thought you might. It’s pretty special, isn’t it?

Claire: And I can imagine the two of you being happy here.

Mariah: Well, look at who’s awake!

Claire: Oh!

Cole: Hey!

Mariah: Say hi, everybody.

Claire: Hi! Aria, good morning. Do you mind if I…

Mariah: Oh, no, absolutely not. Here. There you go. It’s a baby.

Claire: It’s your baby. Can I say hi? Hey, big girl.

Mariah: Wow.

Claire: Wow, you’re so big. Good morning. Are you having a good day today, are you? My name is claire. It’s very nice to meet you.

[ Claire giggles ]

Phyllis: Devon and lily, they are so drunk in power. That’s why their company is sinking like a rock.

Billy: Except it’s not. It’s not sinking at all.

Phyllis: Well– it doesn’t– they have no right to do this to my son.

Billy: Phyllis, he cheated on lily while she was taking care of her daughter.

Phyllis: With the mother of his child, the love of his life.

Billy: It doesn’t mean it doesn’t hurt, okay? You can’t just ignore that part.

Phyllis: Okay, we’ve all been through this. Every single person in this town. Come on, this is nothing new.

Billy: Sure, yeah.

Phyllis: This is what I’m saying, is… devon and lily… oh, god. They have doled out their share of romantic misery. They’re such hypocrites. I mean, to do this to daniel and heather because they’re trying to put their family back together? This is obscene.

Daniel: I need to think about this.

Heather: I know you do, and I, um… I don’t mean to push you.

Daniel: You’re not pushing. You’re just reminding me of what I’m about to lose, and the more I think about it, the more upset I get.

Heather: Yeah. I think you and I were probably in denial about what would happen when lily found out. We were just so relieved to be back together and not having to hide our love for each other that we didn’t really focus on the repercussions.

Daniel: Well, I’m wide awake and laser-focused now.

Claire: That was really fun. Thank you for including me.

Cole: So, you weren’t bored with all of our old stories?

Claire: Are you kidding? I loved them. I want to hear more. Was that the first time you two have been back there together?

Cole: Yeah, yeah. It’s been a long time.

Claire: Didn’t seem that way from the way you were talking.

Cole: Yeah, well, it was a pretty important time for both of us. I mean, ultimately, it led to having you.

Claire: Yeah, that could have been my house if… mom?

Victoria: Hm?

Claire: You’ve just– you’ve been really quiet on the walk back. Is everything okay?

Victoria: Yeah. Yes, everything’s okay.

Cole: If I may interpret, your mother gets a certain look in her eye when she has an idea that turns out to be a pretty big one. Am I right?

Victoria: You can still read me pretty well, can’t you?

Cole: Oh, well, glad I haven’t lost my touch. So, what is it?

Victoria: Well, this might sound a little bit crazy, but it could also be really incredible. What would you think about living in the tack house? At tj maxx, you can afford to turn your closet

Heather: So, that’s all your mom said. Meet me for a drink?

Daniel: And that it was important, so we can assume she’s heard the news.

Heather: Which news? The getting back together part or the getting fired part?

Daniel: Probably both.

Heather: Good, let’s go.

Daniel: Yeah, no, I’m not really interested in a lecture from my mother this evening.

Heather: Who said it’s going to be a lecture?

Daniel: Me, from years and years of knowing her.

Heather: Phyllis has been our biggest cheerleader. She probably just wants to congratulate us.

Daniel: And the losing our jobs part?

Heather: A show of support.

Daniel: Wow. You are an optimist.

Heather: And you and I could both use a drink, so… so, we’re going.

Daniel: Hm. Let’s go.

Heather: Okay.

Daniel: Get your purse, get your coat.

Heather: Okay, all right.

Billy: You know, you’re getting very upset over something that hasn’t happened yet.

Phyllis: Okay, well, you said that lily’s going to fire my son.

Billy: I said it’s heading in that direction. Maybe they will have a change of heart.

Phyllis: Oh, god. My son created omegasphere. That’s his baby. I mean, he’s going to be crushed. And, hey, listen, let’s just call it what it is. I’m in that division. We both know I’m going to get pink-slipped. What a mess that company is. What a mess.

Billy: Oh, I wouldn’t go that far.

Phyllis: Oh, come on. Don’t be a company man right now, billy.

[ Phyllis sighs ] That place is a dumpster fire. You’re sitting right in the middle of it. What you need right now are allies, not foes. You need allies because you’re just sitting there just waiting for the time for them to pick you off, which they will do when the time is right for them.

Claire: You want me to move?

Victoria: Well, you liked the tack house, didn’t you?

Claire: Yeah, it’s great. It’s just… did I do something wrong?

Victoria: No.

Claire: Because I would understand if I’d overstayed my welcome or if you just didn’t want me around all the time.

Victoria: What? No. No, no, no. That’s not what I meant at all. No, you would– you would be moving there with me. I would move with you, and then johnny and katie could join us later.

Claire: Oh.

Victoria: I don’t want you to ever think that you’re not welcome wherever we go. You’re family. You should never forget that.

Claire: Thank you.

Cole: You know, I think it’s a great idea. It’s a really good space. And you still are right here on the newman property, so you have access to all of victor’s security.

Victoria: And I have been a little worried about johnny and katie coming home from spring break and not having a house to come home to. I mean, I love that they want to spend a lot of time with mom and dad, but, I mean, the five of us in the main house together could get a little stressful, and this way you guys could get to know each other.

Claire: I’d really like that, but how would they feel about me being there?

Victoria: Well, I’ve already told them all about you. They’re really anxious to meet their big sister.

Claire: Big sister. I still can’t believe I have siblings.

Victoria: You’re going to be so great with them. Just like you were with aria tonight. You know, she’s a real natural with children.

Claire: This all just, it’s a little overwhelming.

Victoria: I know. And I’m sorry if I just dumped it on you like this, but after we ran into mariah and tessa and they told us that they were moving, I just felt that it was the universe sending us a message.

Cole: To live the dream.

Victoria: Yeah. And it can be our home. You know, a place where we can all come together. And cole, you’re welcome to come as often as you like.

Cole: Thank you.

Victoria: And claire, it’ll be a place to give you space and time to plan the rest of your life. But you have time to think about it, of course. There’s no rush.

Claire: So, when can we move?

[ Victoria sighs ] Oh, it’s nice. It’s starting to get warm.

Cole: Yeah, spring’s a-coming, all right.

Victoria: Yeah.

Cole: You know, I hadn’t thought about that blizzard night for years.

Victoria: You were so mad.

Cole: I thought I was gonna turn into a snowman. I mean, it was freezing outside. And, but, you know, then we made up. It was always really nice whenever we made up.

Victoria: Do you think that I’m doing the right thing with claire and the tack house?

Cole: Absolutely. You’re giving her a chance to have a home and to really be a part of a family for the first time in her life.

Victoria: Yeah. And it’s a chance for us to see her become whoever she wants to be. I know we can never get back those years that we lost with her, but at least this is a second chance for us to watch our daughter grow up.

Cole: And for you to be her perfect role model.

Victoria: Oh, well, I am far from perfect, as you well know.

Cole: No. You’re an incredible woman, victoria. An amazing mother. An amazing woman. I mean, there’s just, there’s just no other word for it. And you take my breath away about a dozen times a day.

Did you know…

Cole: I better get going.

Victoria: Yeah. Thanks for tonight, cole.

Cole: Thank you. I had a great time. Um… you know, um… having you in my life has changed everything. And I never want to go back to the way things were. I just needed you to know that.

Phyllis: Hey, look at the happy couple. My goodness.

Daniel: Hi, mom.

Phyllis: Hey.

Daniel: Hi.

Phyllis: Yeah, you know, billy and I were just talking about how excited I was when you told me that you and heather were back together.

Daniel: Right. Yes.

Heather: Mm-hmm.

Daniel: How very excited you were.

Phyllis: Yeah. Uh, we were also discussing, um, how your jobs might be on the line.

Daniel: Oh, there’s, uh, there’s no, no maybe about that. Lily pulled the trigger. Um, we’ve both officially been fired.

Billy: Um, just so you both know, I was not involved in that decision.

Daniel: I know, billy. Thank you. I appreciate it. Um, and before you even ask, I have no idea what this means for your position at chancellor-winters.

Phyllis: Oh, I don’t care about that. I’m more concerned about you.

Heather: I think daniel should fight this. At least hold on to princess louisa.

Phyllis: I agree.

Billy: So do I.

Phyllis: You do?

Billy: I think devon and lily are acting out of emotion to the detriment of the company. I think you got to do what you got to do.

Heather: You see? It isn’t just me. You need to fight to protect what’s rightfully yours, and we’re all behind you.

Mariah: So, what did you think of claire?

Tessa: Oh, uh, she was nice. A little shy, and great with the baby, which was not what I was expecting.

Mariah: Yeah. I think she’s trying to find her way.

Tessa: Hm. I mean, you would know.

Mariah: Yeah, I mean, it’s one thing to find your parents when you’re practically grown, but when it doesn’t get off on exactly the right foot.

Tessa: I mean, you and sharon seemed to work everything out. And from what I saw, claire and victoria seemed bonded. You know, like mother and daughter.

Mariah: Yeah, that’s true. Victoria was beaming.

Tessa: Aw.

Mariah: Oh, my goodness. Is that tad?

Tessa: Oh, I was wondering what happened to him. The last time I saw him, aria was trying to bathe him in pasta.

Mariah: Yeah, and he does look a little rough around the edges.

Tessa: Oh, but we should keep him, though, right?

Mariah: I mean, we can’t keep everything, tessa. The new place is big, but it’s not that big. And she’s already got her new toy, ginky. It’s the top dog right now.

Tessa: Oh, tad looks sad.

Mariah: Okay, fine, fine. We will keep tad for a little while longer.

Tessa: Good choice.

Mariah: We have new memories to make, and there’s gonna be new mementos in the new place. This is a beginning for us. You got lucky, tad.

Victoria: Is everything all right?

Claire: Yeah.

Victoria: Are we rushing this move? Is it too fast for you?

Claire: No. No, I’m really excited about the move. I just… I feel guilty that you put off your life so much for me.

Victoria: This is my life. There’s nothing that matters to me more than you.

Claire: And I really appreciate that. But you… you loved running newman. Don’t you miss it? Do you think it’s time you should think about getting back to work?

Victoria: No, it doesn’t feel right. If or when I’m ready, I will know.

Claire: And cole doesn’t seem too eager to end his sabbatical and go back to the U.K. For work, does he?

Victoria: Claire, we’ve just missed so many– so many years with you. You’re like a miracle to us. We want to dedicate this time in our lives to you.

Claire: And I’m so grateful for that, but… I can’t help wondering if maybe there’s something more going on?

Victoria: What do you mean?

Claire: I mean, just some of the looks between the two of you when we were at the house, talking about your past.

Victoria: I… I mean, I guess being in our old place might’ve just stirred up some memories.

Claire: Of when you were happy and in love?

Update written by Joseph

Harris and Ava wake up in bed together. Ava says she’s so glad that he showed up at her door last night. They talk about finally having to get up but decide they have nowhere else to be. Ava says her son is safe and her business partner is in prison. Ava assures there’s nowhere else she’d rather be as they kiss.

Johnny joins Chanel in the town square and notes that she looks tired. Chanel talks about the bakery being crazy busy. Chanel says now that Paulina is healthy and in remission, she has to start focusing on the Bakery again. Chanel adds that she’s basically on her own since she let two of her staff take off. Johnny calls her a good boss. Chanel tells Johnny that her break is over and she has to get back to work.

Stephanie joins Julie at the Horton House to help with the remodel. Julie talks about wanting the house to have new life but still wanting it to say “welcome home”. Stephanie says she loves interior design. Julie talks about having an antique shop years ago and she thought Stephanie could have a pleasant diversion to take her mind off of Everett.

Everett goes to Marlena’s office to try hypnosis. Marlena is glad and hopes they can get some clarity on his past. Everett then decides that he thinks coming here was a mistake.

Chad visits Abigail’s grave and brings her flowers for Easter. Chad talks about the kids having an Easter egg hunt at the Kiriakis Mansion. Chad calls it crazy that they are living there but the Horton House is being renovated, so they should be back home soon. Chad states that he misses Abigail so much and he’s sorry that the man who took her from them escaped. Chad declares that it’s all his fault.

Stephanie tells Julie that she was lying in bed last night, trying not to think about Everett and her mind randomly wandered to the time capsule. Julie says she still can’t open it and has been obsessing over where the key could be or what could be inside. Julie is afraid the key must be gone with the wind. Julie is sure that Tom wanted everyone to figure it out together like a puzzle. Stephanie suggesting posting a picture of it online and using the internet for help. Stephanie offers to help with that but Julie says not now as she’s decided to dedicate all her focus to the house project instead of the time capsule, because she knows her grandparents would want the place to be ready for all generations to come.

Chad blames himself for interviewing Clyde and putting his picture in the paper as then he never would’ve retaliated but he pushed him and put the whole thing in motion. Chad says he just wanted to make Clyde pay for what he did to Abigail, but instead he tried to kill their babies and family by sending a henchman to torch their home. Chad says that was Abigail’s great grandparents home where she spent all of her happiest days as a child. Chad feels he let Abigail and her family down and now Clyde Weston escaped. Chad promises that he will make it right.

Marlena sits Everett down and says there are a lot of misconceptions about hypnotherapy. Everett confirms he’s read a good deal about it. Marlena explains that they try to access parts of his memory that weren’t available. Everett admits that’s what freaks him out as part of him definitely wants to know the truth but another part of him is afraid of what he might find out. Marlena understands but encourages that he will be safe with her and if he feels unable to go on, they will stop. Everett then agrees to give it a shot.

Ava asks Harris what he’s thinking but Harris says he doesn’t want to ruin the mood. Ava insists so Harris brings up that Clyde and Goldman are still free and they don’t know where they are or if they are coming back. Harris says Clyde really wanted his freedom, so he doesn’t think he will jeopardize that by showing his face around anytime soon. Harris decides he’s going to join the manhunt as soon as he can which Ava points out is not today. Ava comments on Harris healing really fast and almost having all his strength back. Harris mentions being hungry and suggests ordering more food but Ava reminds him that she is a great cook. Ava tells him not to move as she goes to whip something up for him.

Johnny helps Chanel lock up at the Bakery. Chanel then gets a big order for tomorrow and decides she’ll have to prepare for it now. Johnny suggests she do it tomorrow but Chanel insists on doing it now. Chanel doesn’t want Johnny to have to wait so she says she’ll catch up with him later. Johnny offers to help. Chanel thanks him but assures that she can handle it. Johnny points out that she needs the help and he gets to spend a little extra time with her so Chanel decides they will get to work.

Julie and Stephanie look at ideas for the house remodel until Stephanie gets a message from a potential new client. Stephanie mentions that she could use it since she’s thinking about dropping the Spectator. Julie questions why and guesses it’s because of Everett which Stephanie confirms. Stephanie admits it will be even more upsetting if it turns out to be true that Everett was dating her on the side while married to Jada. Stephanie adds that now Jada can’t stand her. Julie argues that it wasn’t her fault. Stephanie explains that Jada accused her of missing the signs that Everett was hiding something big and maybe she’s right that she ignored what was right in front of her the whole time.

Marlena begins hypnotizing Everett. Everett recalls being with his mother, Helen. Marlena asks about his mom. Everett praises her and then Marlena asks if there’s anything he’d like to ask his mother while he envisions her. Everett then gets agitated and imagines asking his mom why she did it.

Chanel explains baking to Johnny and instructs him to begin helping by pre-heating the oven as they kiss.

Julie tells Stephanie that she cannot blame herself for Everett’s lies since she didn’t know what was going on and was devastated when she found out. Stephanie says the timing couldn’t have been worse as she was just starting to think that maybe Everett was the one again, but then everything blew up in her face again. Julie asks how she feels now. Stephanie responds that she feels confused and furious as just when she thought she could trust Everett again, this happens. Stephanie adds that she feels guilty for being mad and not sympathetic for what Everett is going through. Julie tells her to forget Everett’s problems as she should be taking care of herself. Julie encourages that she’s not alone and has the family to lean on. Julie declares that when the truth comes out, they will get her through it. Chad arrives and says he didn’t expect to see them there. Julie says the same as she thought Chad was coming by tomorrow. Chad says he was stopping by to check on Thomas and Charlotte’s remodeled bedroom. Julie says he can go check it out upstairs and come back to give his opinion, then he can come back down and help them.

Under hypnosis, Everett continues questioning why his mom did it. Marlena encourages that he’s safe and no one is going to hurt him. Everett responds that he’s not safe as he continues to struggle with his visions.

Ava brings Harris breakfast in bed which he says hits the spot. Harris jokes that anything is better than hospital food. Ava craves fresh pasta and suggests they go to the Bistro since it’s closed and shut down now, so they could have a private dinner. Harris decides that sounds like a plan. Ava says she will be the chef and pick out the menu. Ava guarantees it will be very satisfying as they kiss.

Chanel jokes with Johnny that sometimes she forgets they are married since they didn’t have much time as newlyweds and haven’t had a real honeymoon. Johnny suggests going back to Italy but knows she has to stay close to home for awhile. Chanel says as soon as the time is right, they will definitely take that trip. Chanel reminds him about taking Sarah up on her offer to use the Horton Cabin on Smith Island. They talk about it just being the two of them. Chanel says it sounds perfect as Johnny asks how soon they can go.

Chad returns to the living room and assures that the kids will love the remodeled bedroom. Julie offers to get snacks and goes to the kitchen. Stephanie tells Chad that the kids must be anxious to move back in. Chad confirms they can’t wait. Chad asks Stephanie if there are any updates on Everett or if he’s going by Bobby now. Stephanie informs Chad that she met with him yesterday to talk with him about hiring a new PR firm to the Spectator. Chad questions that, arguing that she’s terrific and can’t leave them. Stephanie says she feels awkward and knows he understands. Chad asks if she wants him to fire Everett again. Stephanie tells him not to do that, at least not yet. Chad jokes for her to just tell him when. Stephanie asks what he thinks about the house. Chad calls it amazing and mentions feeling responsible for the fire, so it breaks his heart that Doug and Julie had to go through all this. Stephanie argues that it wasn’t Chad’s fault but Chad feels he practically goaded Clyde in to it. Stephanie says that Clyde is a lunatic. Chad still feels responsible. Chad knows it doesn’t make any sense but he went to Abigail’s grave to talk to her about it since Clyde is the one who took her from them. Chad remarks that God only knows what Clyde’s going to do next.

Marlena asks Everett to tell her what’s happening and what he is seeing. Everett stops and says he sees nothing but darkness. Marlena asks if he can find a light. Everett struggles but says he can’t. Marlena decides that’s enough and brings him out of hypnosis. Marlena assures that he’s safe and asks him to tell her what he remembered.

Johnny and Chanel continue kissing at the Bakery.

Everett tells Marlena that he’s sorry but he doesn’t know and turns away. Marlena brings up that he said he saw some darkness and something was disturbing after seeing his mother. Everett claims he’s not sure as it was kind of fuzzy. Marlena asks how he feels now. Everett admits he’s a little shaky. Marlena calls today a very good start but says there was something blocking him from going forward. Marlena suggests they could deal with that in their next session if he’d like to. Everett says definitely. Marlena asks him to let her know if he has any memories at all which he agrees to do. Everett decides he should get back to work and thanks Marlena. Everett says he will set up another appointment and exits the office.

Stephanie hopes that visiting Abigail helped ease Chad’s mind. Chad confirms that it did. Stephanie repeats that what happened was not Chad’s fault. Stephanie points out that everyone is safe and the house is still standing, so before long it will be as good as new. Stephanie adds that Chad’s family and friends care about him so much, so he can lean on them. Chad thanks her and tells her the same since she’s going through a rough time as well. Julie returns with snacks. Stephanie says she has to run actually to go meet the new client that she mentioned. Julie gives her a sandwich and an apple for the road. Stephanie tells Julie to keep her posted as she exits. Julie notes that Chad doesn’t look too happy and asks him to talk to her. Chad responds that he’s just so sorry about the house and declares that it’s all his fault.

Ava and Harris decide on going to the Bistro to get rejuvenated. Harris feels he should shower soon as he’s sweaty. Ava mentions she’s been just as active as him, so she needs a shower too as they kiss.

Johnny and Chanel continue kissing. Johnny starts to undress her but Chanel says doing so in the kitchen would be a health violation. Johnny decides they can wait. Chanel mentions the storage room as they continue.

Stephanie goes to the Brady Pub and sees Everett seated alone. Stephanie greets him, so he invites her to sit. Stephanie asks how he is. Everett responds that he had his first hypnosis session today. Stephanie asks how it went. Everett calls it intense and reveals that he saw something that scared the hell out of him.

Julie encourages Chad to let it go. Chad feels he’s made such a mess of everything and now Clyde is free. Julie assures that nobody blames Chad for the fire and gets Chad to say that he’s not to blame. Julie hugs Chad as he talks about struggling. Chad sometimes feels he’s doing his best to raise his kids without their mother while other times, he feels like he’s failing. Chad cries that he misses Abigail so much all the time. Julie cries that they all miss her and this isn’t something he can do alone. Julie encourages that the family all support him and that she wants to build the house back because it’s a constant in their lives and a symbol of family, love, and hope as they hug.

[ Gasps ] How long have you been able to do this?! Ohh! Nina in her office? Yes, mr. Cain, but — we did the same spread like two years ago. I want something for — I don’t know. You go to brooklyn and you check out the — I need to get back to you. Alright. Hey, madison. I was on a call. I’m sorry. I tried to explain that you didn’t want — just close the door on your way out, please. Thank you. You don’t have to pick on your assistant. I didn’t really give her a chance to announce me. I just came by to see what you were up to.

[ Siren wails ]

[ Indistinct conversations ] Uh, good afternoon. What can I do for you? I’m here to see detective bennet. Detective bennet: Right here. Dex heller. Nice to meet you. Follow me, mr. Heller. Have a seat. Commissioner devane asked me to interview you. I’m an instructor here at the police academy. I know. I looked you up. Did you, now? Yes, sir. I like to know who I’m dealing with. So do I. So why don’t we start with the obvious question then? Why do you want to become a police officer? Thank you, mommy! Okay. You’re welcome, sweetheart. Wow! This is a lot of work. It is, but it’s worth it. Trust me. Which layer first? Alright, well, the first thing we’re gonna do is put the pasta sauce in here. Very thin layer. I can do it! You can do it? Okay. Well, how about I do this and then you can spread it around a little bit? Yeah? Okay. What can i do? You can check the noodles and make sure they’re not too hot for her. Check them how? Touch them…mom. Just don’t pick them up, please. We don’t want you to tear them. Mm-hmm. You know, I might be insulted by that if I didn’t know that you guys were right. Oh. We’re lucky she’s so happy today. Ha!

[ Giggles ] Yeah, why are you so happy, mommy? Why wouldn’t I be happy? I’m with my girls! And my best friend is back. Jason, right? Thank you for coming by. Come. Please. Thank you for getting yourself a phone. I had to wrangle with your lawyer for a good 15 minutes before she would relay that message to you. Yeah. Diane is very cautious. Yeah. I don’t blame her. She has you as a client. I saw dante. He’s awake. And — it’s a relief. And you’re exonerated. It’s a relief for me, too. Even though you’re no longer facing capital-murder charges, you’re still in a great deal of trouble. And I’ve been giving your situation some thought. Okay. I think you and i have mutual goals.

Is jason coming for dinner? Um, probably not tonight, but soon. I want to meet him. Oh, honey, you know him. You just don’t remember him. Do you think he’ll remember me? I know he’ll remember you. I do. He’s gonna be so amazed at how much you’ve grown. So, I have information from another source that sonny was doing business with pikeman and then he suddenly stopped… which could be why he was being targeted. So, what can you tell me about pikeman’s internal organization and their areas of involvement? Nothing. Why not? Because I-I already know that you were part of it.

[ Sighs ] Anna… I-I can’T. Ah. Because of agent cates? Yeah? He’s on his way over.

[ Telephone rings ] Yes? Send him in. Speak of the devil. Hi. Oh. Thank you. Come on in, agent cates. Thank you for coming. You already know mr. Morgan.

[ Door closes ] You served in the army. Two tours in afghanistan, bagram, and kandahar. Then I was promoted to a post in germany. You were discharged for assaulting a superior officer. Yes, sir. But I can explain. It wasn’t a dishonorable discharge, so I’m guessing there was some level of provocation. Still, it’s a blemish on your record just the same. What’d you do after you got out? I worked private security. I see that on the application, but I don’t see any names or references. They were private clients — high-profile, rich. I signed non-disclosure agreements. Legitimate? Yes, sir. Corporate heads, politicians, silicon valley guys. What about your last employer? Corinthos coffee? It’s not included on the application. Why is that? Do you not consider that employer legitimate? Technically, yes. In reality, no. Auntie, I didn’t know you were here. Obviously! Where were you? I was in the kitchen dropping off a coconut cake for trina. It’s her favorite. Right, right. Now that you know about me. What about you?! Uh, well, you know, I have taken… a few steps lately, so, yeah.

[ Gasps ] Look. I know I need a lot more practice. This is great! Why on earth are you keeping this from your family? Especially your wife! I’ve had my hands full with the fall issue pulling crimson back from the brink. You know, carly did huge damage. The only damage that was done during carly’s tenure was by you, nina. You literally ripped out walls to try to sabotage that first issue, but it went out on time. All your major advertisers and designers and collaborators, they all stayed. There wasn’t a dip in sales or circulation. In fact, there was a little bit of a bump because people were kind of curious to see what carly would do. Well, if things were so wonderful, drew, then by all means, bring carly back, and I’ll just walk. You won’T. You’re not gonna wa– you’re not going anywhere, nina. You’re just a rich, spoiled brat. And although you can’t find true love or even a functional relationship, you do have everything that money can buy. Except for this. This magazine is mine. And you want it. You need it. And you need me. Because carly is long gone. Carly: Hey! Wait a minute. There’s supposed to be four of you. Mommy and amelia aren’t here. What?! April fool’s!

[ Gasps ] Ohh! [ Laughs ] Actually, amelia fell asleep on the drive over, so willow’s upstairs putting her down. Ohh. Oh, so we’re having lasagna. Mm-hmm. Joss and I made it! Uh, me too. Mommy helped. A little bit. A little bit. I want to help, too! Oh, well, the lasagna is already in the oven, but you guys can help me set the table. That’s not fun!

[ Laughter ] I get it, I get it, but if you guys help me, then we can play some “st wars.” Yeah! Josslyn: Mm-hmm. I get to be darth vader! Well, of course. Alright. Let’s go. Alright. Careful. Okay. Before jason turned himself in… he was with you, wasn’t he?

Auntie, of course, I planned to tell my wife. I planned to tell all of you. Just, um — just when I’m better able to walk. You do understand that, don’t you? I think I do. After I had my stroke, I had to relearn things, too. Not to the extent that you have, but I had to put effort into being whole again. Look at my life differently and think differently about my health. But the hardest thing for me to come to terms with wasn’t just physical — it was mental. Accepting that I couldn’t do everything on my own, that I, too, needed help… that I wasn’t invulnerable. I get it. This has motivated me more than ever. I — I just don’t want my family to have to witness me struggle, witness my baby steps. Ohh! Especially after everything that I’ve put everyone through. Just want to be further along.

[ Exhales sharply ] Baby… I am beyond thrilled and proud right now, and I just want the rest of the family to be able to experience the joy that I’m having right now! We’re all on this journey with you. What happens to you affects us, too. Especially portia. And you know she’s been trying to stay strong, holding it down. Let her have some of this joy. Baby steps or big steps. Let her experience it with you. Keeping secrets, even if your aim is true… …it can destroy a marriage. Carly: Jason didn’t say anything to me, but the quartermaine estate is a perfect place to hide. And you live at the gatehouse. Yeah. [ Sighs ] Willow and I were helping him. Willow? Yeah, and I know — I know I-I blindsided willow when I told her that jason was shot and needed her help, but, hey, mom, she stepped right up. I mean, she took care of his wounds. She made sure that he had the right medication. Willow’s the reason why jason had such a good recovery. Did jason say anything about where he’s been, what he’s been doing? No, not really. He just — he told me that he was picked up by somebody who has leverage over him and they had him working as a mercenary soldier. Did he say anything to you? Well, after the arraignment, jason went straight to see your father. I was there — and, surprise, surprise, so was ava.

[ Sighs ] Yeah, ava has been spending a lot of time with him these days. Yeah, a-and sonny thinks that ava is trustworthy but you and I are not, which gives you a pretty good idea how things went with jason. Obviously now dad realizes that jason didn’t shoot dante. He also knows that he was an informant for the fbi. An informant? Yeah. That’s what jason couldn’t tell me. And he didn’t say much more than that, which infuriated your father. And sonny called jason a traitor. I tried to calm him down. I tried to fix things. But it didn’t work. So jason and I left. Did jason say anything else? No. I mean, not — not really. We — we went to bobbie’s and we sat around and talked, but he didn’t say anything about where he’s been or about the fbi. And there’s a vacant room above bobbie’s, so that’s where jason’s gonna stay. Okay. Well, that’s good. It’s easier for him there than — than at the metro court or… the quartermaines’? Especially there.

[ Sighs ] And, mom, he’s — he’s been through something. I know. I know. I can see it. But jason’s gonna be okay. I mean, he is. He’s got a lot of people pulling for him. Yeah. Especially you, mom. I know this has been an emotional ride. I mean, are you — are you okay? I haven’t been this okay in a long time. I’ve already been kicked out of “star wars.”

[ Laughter ] Wiley needs you. Say no more.

[ Carly laughs ] Can I do anything to help? Oh, well, I have been entrusted with the salad, so you could help me with that. You got it. Hold on. Michael told me that you really put yourself on the line to help with jason. Thank you. Mr. Morgan. Can’t imagine why you’re here. I told him to come. Anna knows I’m working for you. I told her. That violates the terms of our agreement. You lied when we made our agreement. Why should I continue to honor that? Jagger. You chose not to tell me you knew me in high school. You knew my family. You knew my mother! And you engineered a scenario where I had to let her believe I was dead! What would it matter if I told you something you can’t remember? It’s too bad about your personal life, but you took this deal of your own volition, so don’t lecture me on the consequences of being you. You couldn’t find anybody else to go after pikeman? No one with your qualifications. No one I had leverage over who dropped in my lap. I don’t give a damn how you feel about this job. I only care that you get it done. I am gonna save us both some time. We could keep playing chicken — you threatening to leave. Me going to hr to start a search for a new editor in chief… or we could take all that energy and we could focus it on the fall issue. Oh, let– let’s be clear here.

We are not getting the fall issue out.

I’m getting the fall issue out because i am the driving force behind crimson. That’s why you begged me to come back. Oh. Wha– I don’t beg anybody, nina, least of all you. I came to you because there was a vacancy that I needed to fill. And I know how much you love this magazine. I thought it was a bit of a win-win. I’m open to the possibility of us working together because we both get something that we want. Can’t really be that easy for you, drew. I mean, jason blows back into town and suddenly there’s a “vacancy” in carly’s bed. You’re out. He’s in. It was my choice to end things with carly. Oh, no. You got out before carly could dump you. And you’re standing here telling me that you don’t want payback? What has payback ever gotten you?

Keeping secrets endedyour first marriage, and this one almost ended before it got started because of a secret. Baby, the marriages that work best are the ones where partners can share. They can lean on each other and go through the tough times together. Both you and portia are strong enough to handle anything. And your — your desire to protect is admirable, but you got to ask yourself, if you were portia, wouldn’t you want to know? Ahh. I’m home! Hi! Would you clarify what you meant when you said, “technically, yes, in reality, no”? I worked closely with mr. Corinthos. After a period of time,it became clear his business was not one I could support. Weren’t you there nearly two years? It took me a while to figure out how to go about it, but eventually I got out. I planned on leaving port charles for good, but… but what? But I didn’t like the idea of running away. So instead I went to see commissioner devane. She suggested I become a cop, so here I am. I was more afraid that I wouldn’t be able to treat jason correctly than about whatever legal jeopardy I’d be in. I was able to bandage him up and bring him antibiotics from the hospital, which lowered his risk of infection. You took a huge risk taking meds from the hospital. I won’t lie — I was really nervous when the shortage showed up on the computer. But michael called spinelli… and the shortage disappeared. Thankfully. Spinelli’s a good person to know. Well, so is jason. He helped save me from shiloh. Michael loves him. So do you. He’s important to this family. He is. But he was also a fugitive wanted for shooting a cop. And I know it wouldn’t occur to michael to not get involved, but I’m sure it occurred to you. Well, sometimes you have to put your own doubts aside and back the person you love. Michael has done that for me. It was my turn to do it for him. Well, I understand that because I know what it’s like to have that special of a relationship. You must be relieved now that jason’s back. So will he be alright now that the charges have been dropped? I-I still don’t understand what kind of trouble he was in or what’s happened to him. I don’t either. He has said very little. Really? I… I thought you and jason told each other everything. So, obviously jason’s cover is blown. He can no longer work at pikeman as “alan jacobs.” He can’t work there, but he still has value. How? They will have adjusted their protocols by now, and I’m sure that they’ve reallocated any personnel that ever came in contact with him. Maybe. But he knows too much. Pikeman’s gonna want to shut him up. Jason, you’re gonna stay here in port charles, out in the open. You want to use him as bait? I want to draw pikeman out. I’m not gonna be a walking target in my hometown, surrounded by people I care about. I’m not gonna let anybody wind up as collateral damage. Then be real careful. You know how pikeman operates. Draw them out. I’m willing to bet they’ll send someone senior to deal with you. We turn the tables, take them into custody, and incentivize them to give up whoever runs the company. How are you gonna “turn the tables”? I’m sure you’ll think of something. Jason, you have an impressive skill set and you’re good at improvising. So what’s it gonna be? Cooperate… …or we use the evidence we already have… and charge carly spencer with rico violations. And criminal conspiracy.

I’ll do what you want. As long as you leave carly alone. As long as you hold up your end, I have no use for carly. Alright. Let’s just… why don’t we clarify the objective now, please? Can we? Jason shouldn’t have involved you, anna. This is an fbi investigation. You’re not part of it. I am. We’ve already been over this, john. This is my jurisdiction I want in. The whole point of using jason is that he’s not an agent. How I use him is at my discretion. I am not gonna risk a leak or open the door to some inter-agency turf war at this late date. And you think any of that would apply to me? Why would it? Oh, come on, anna. You’re wsb… and so is pikeman. One of the great things about jason is that even when he can’t tell me what’s going on, I know I can trust him. He’ll let me in when he can, you know? There were so many times that he didn’t know what I was doing, and he trusted me anyway.

[ Laughs ] Yeah. Why do I feel like there’s something you want to say? I’m sorry. I didn’t want to bring it up, but… drew told me that you guys broke up. Oh. Wow. I mean, I didn’t know that drew

was gonna saysomething to you. Not that it’s a secret or anything. It’s not. I just — I just — I just didn’t know how it would feel when people found out. How is he? You know drew. He puts on a game face, but I know he was hurt. I love him. I do. And I miss him and… he went through so much with me and for me, and I really wanted to return that kind of loyalty. But… I didn’t know jason was gonna come back. Look. Drew is a good friend. Literally my lifesaver. And I-I hope he can put his own life back together and find something that matters to him. That is your problem, nina! When things don’t go your way, you actually — you focus on the wrong thing. Right now my problem is that I have a sanctimonious boss who barged into my office and now wants to lecture me about my shortcomings. Oh, I can’t believe I forgot to include “victimhood complex” in there. My bad. I’m sorry. I know nothing’s ever your fault, right? That’s how you justify your actions. When you lose something, you just go and try and take something from somebody else in return. Think about it for a second. You lost nelle, you lied to carly. Made her think that she lost sonny. You lost willow, you tried to send carly to prison. You’re still defending carly?! How pathetic, drew! The best decision you ever made was to fire carly and reinstate me. Why are you backtracking now? I’m not backtracking now, nina! I’m not rewriting history. I’ve got a very clear mind on what happened, and I have a very good memory. But that’s in the past, and we’re trying to move forward here, right? Haven’t you ever heard “living well is the best revenge”? Stella! This is a wonderful surprise. You’re staying for dinner, right? No, no, I just came by to leave trina a coconut cake. Uh, I left it in the kitchen. That’s so thoughtful of you. It’s her favorite. Thank you very much. My pleasure! And I hope you two have a wonderful evening. I’m sure you have a lot to catch up on. Buh-bye!

[ Stammers ]

[ Sighs ] She ran out of here so fast, I didn’t get a chance to tell her some good news. Dante woke up. That is good news. Yeah. It is. How’s he doing? He’s amazing. He’s weak, but he’s coherent. And sam and olivia, they’re over the moon. I’m really happy for them. Do you remember how excited I was when you finally woke up? I mean, I felt like I hadn’t taken a breath in months. And then you opened your eyes and…

[ Sighs ] Look at you now. I’d rather look at you.

[ Chuckles ] I’d rather look at that cake. Portia: Excuse me!

[ Laughs ]

Carly never wanted to be the editor of crimson. I talked her into it. She did it for me. Oh, and it didn’t feel good at all to show her the door? No. Nina, that — that is your petty way of thinking. To answer your question, I don’t want carly to suffer at all. I get nothing from that whatsoever. I win when I focus on myself and I build something for myself. I mean, if you could only do that, if you could only focus on your talents and what you have and get out of your own way, my god, you could probably eventually be happy. Happy? I was happy, drew. Happier than I’ve ever been in my life. You know why? Because I had a family. My surviving daughter was back in my life. I had two wonderful grandchildren. I was married to a man that I loved and who loved me. A job that I was great at. Two, in fact. And now what do I have? I have nothing. Except for crimson, which is all I started with in the first place. You bear no responsibility for those turn of events? Everything that you claimed carly had to begin with. Oh, I did not want anything from carly. Things just happened the way they happened. Yes, I take responsibility for keeping the truth about sonny being alive in nixon falls from his family. But once sonny remembered, it was his choice, and he chose me. I didn’t force him. It was sonny’s decision. So big on choice, aren’t you? So big on choice. What about accountability? Oh, you want to talk accountability? How about carly?! She chose to buy shares of aurora and commit a crime! But was she held accountable? No. Carly always gets a pass. She even had you take the fall for her! After you turned us in to the sec! Which was perfectly legal! But apparently unforgivable — for me. Now I’m exiled… from the man that I love and from the only family that I was ever able to call my own. Is that fair? Oh, josslyn! That’s so beautiful! Thank you. It smells like heaven. Yeah. No, it’s a great recipe. When did you learn how to cook lasagna? When’d you learn how to make anything from scratch?

[ Chuckles ] Dex was teaching me how to cook. And he’s really good at it. You miss him, huh? I’m trying not to. That’s all you had to say, huh? Hm. I know that I have to let it go, and — and, overall, I have. It’s just, you know, there’S… that part of me that’s waiting for a text or a call. Hm. What if he does text or call? I promised myself I wouldn’t answer.

[ Carly sighs ] I started out this interview asking you why you wanted to be a cop. Aside from you saying commissioner devane asked you to apply and stating that you wanted to stay in town, you haven’t answered the question. Yes, the commissioner suggested I join the force. I could have refused, but… I thought it over, and I realized… I missed that feeling I had back in the army. Which is what? Doing something good through service. The way I see it, being a cop is like being a soldier. You go through a lot of tough stuff, but it’s for a greater good and it’s about serving others. You took an oath to serve your country and the constitution in the military. Law-enforcement officers take an oath to support and defend the constitution and uphold the laws in their jurisdiction. Are you prepared to do that? Yes, sir. There’s another thing. I liked being a part of something bigger than myself. When I was in the army, the men and women I served with became my brothers and sisters. We were in it together, and we had each other’s backs. We were doing something real and important. It was — it was hard as hell and it was challenging. But we had a purpose. We believed in a cause so strongly… we put our lives on the line for it, and that gave my life meaning. To protect our way of life and our freedom was the goal. The goal in working private security and working for sonny was to make money. And that — that was a stupid and ugly reason to die. Anna: So now we get to the real reason behind your attitude towards me since you came to town. Am I part of your investigation? There’s no way to know. But we do know that pikeman has long-standing and unhealthy ties to the wsb. So you don’t like me poking around. Is that it? You’ve been just playing nice to keep tabs on me, to keep me in check. I can neither confirm nor deny, but the ties between pikeman and the wsb go back to your early days as an agent, anna, in the ’80s. I can tell you flat out — I’ve never had anything to do with pikeman. Jack brennan, who — who ended his rather brief tenure as head of the wsb by being shipped off to pentonville, he could tell you more. It’s alleged that he was running both pikeman and wsb. Unless you think that I’m the new head of pikeman… and that by packing him off to prison, I was making a big power grab. Anything is possible and falls within the scope of my investigation. I want pikeman and everyone affiliated with it to go down. That’s my focus. It’s mine, too! How do we do it?! Well, that is the billion-dollar question. Hopefully jason will get us an answer.

It took every ounce ofwillpower I had to make s–

[ Exhales sharply ] Curtis, hon– wait. Wait a second.

[ Exhales sharply ] Hm…

[ Exclaims ] Okay.

[ Groans ] Looks like I’m gonna need a little practice.

[ Both chuckle ] I could certainly use a good coach. Well, you got one. You’ve got one. -[ Grunts ] -Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Yep.

[ Grunts ]

[ Curtis sighs ]

[ Chuckles ]

[ Portia laughing ] I’d almost believe you if i hadn’t personally experienced your version of payback. And I don’t know. Maybe you have seen the light. Maybe you’re the kinder, gentler drew of old. But I somehow doubt it. I think the rage and the anger is still in there somewhere. I wonder… if there was a button you could push that would somehow magically make jason disappear again — no one would know except for you — would you push it? Knowing that your brother would just go away and everything would go back to the way it was?

[ Door opens ] Ms. Reeves? The piece on how the wellness/fitness market is booming and evolving is in your inbox. Thank you, madison. Thank you. I’ll look at it right away. I need to go back to work. So I heard. What’s, um — what’s this piece about? It’s just for the next issue. It’s — it’s about feeling good is a powerful, profitable industry. You know, fitness and well-being. They’re not just trendy buzzwords. Do me a favor. Will you forward that to me? I’d like to read that. I’m forwarding it right now.

[ Cellphone dings ] Got it. Thank you. Maybe we can work together after all.

[ Door closes ] Stranger things have happened. Here’s the deal, mr. Heller. I get what you did in the military. I respect your discretion about your private clients. I don’t like the gaps in your work history, but I know that world and I’m familiar with non-disclosures. What concerns me the most is your affiliation with the corinthos organization — what you’ve seen, what you’ve done. It’s because of the time that I worked for sonny that I want this. I did things that I regret. And you think you can make up for them by becoming a cop? Because that’s not how this works. The commissioner may have suggested this, but if you’re thinking of it as some kind of penance, then don’t do it. I told you, sir — I want a purpose in my life. I need to do better for myself.

[ Children laugh ] Josslyn: Oh, hi! Okay. Who won — the rebels or the empire? We haven’t finished yet. -Oh. -The rebels will win! How do you know that? Because josslyn’s playing for us, and she’s the best! -Ohh! -I play for the empire, and I’m, uh — I’m a pretty good pilot. Okay. We’ll see what happens. Okay. Uh, before we sit down to dinner, I just want to thank josslyn, donna, and willow for making dinner. You helped, too, mommy. Oh, that’s really nice of you to say that. [ Laughs ] But I also want to say how much I love you all very much… and how lucky we are that we have each other. And we’re lucky that dante is doing better. And we’re so lucky that jason’s back. We have so much to celebrate. Let’s eat!

[ Laughter ] -Let’s eat! Okay. -Okay. You good with that? -There you go. -Gotta grab the bread. I know a lot about pikeman, but I don’t know who’s in charge. I don’t know the chain of command. But you’re right. They’re gonna want to shut me up. The same way they tried to eliminate sonny. I don’t know. They sent separate teams for sonny. The first team was the metro court then puerto rico. I was on the third team, as you know. But their approach is not working. They definitely could try something different with me. Yeah. I regret that you have to be used as bait, jason. That’s real. But I am playing the hand I’ve been dealt with now. The mission remains shutting pikeman down. Commissioner devane.

[ Door closes ] You okay with this? Just has to be done. It all makes sense now. You didn’t become an fbi informant to protect yourself. It was to save carly. She can’t know. Why?

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

I am so glad that you showed up to my door last night. I’m so glad you let me in. Yeah, well, you know you’re pretty hard to resist.

Okay, it is almost four o’clock. I think we should actually get out of bed today. Get what? Get out of bed? We already walked all the way through the living room to pick up the food that was delivered. Hmm. Yeah, that’s true.

You have somewhere else you gotta be right now? Nope.

My son is safe. My business partner You got somewhere else you’d rather be right now? Oh, definitely not.

Hey, beautiful. Hey. You look tired. I’m beat. I thought business would slow down after Easter, but it is so crazy busy. Which is great, right? Yeah. Yeah. And you know that now that mama is healthy and in remission. Thank goodness. Yes. Yes. Um, I have to start focusing on the bakery again. And, um, I’m basically here on my own right now.

I let two of my staff take off and, um, You know, they were, they were just working so much overtime while I was in the hospital. So you’re a good boss. Well, I am also a boss who’s great. Is over what? Mm-Hmm. already. I feel like I just got here. Sorry, boo. But I gotta take some bread outta the oven, but I will be here for a little while longer.

Okay.

Hey, Julie. Oh! Oh, Stephanie. Oh, honey. I’m so glad you’re here. And thank you for being willing to help. Oh, I’m honored to be asked. Well, I decided that we needed fresh young eyes on the house project. I wanted to have new life, but I still wanted to say, welcome home. I’m, I’m in. I love interior design. I watch those home makeover shows all the time.

Decades ago, and I mean decades ago, I had a small antique shop. I did a whole lot of interior design. It was always so much fun. I thought of you, I thought perhaps you could use a pleasant diversion to take your mind off a certain journalist we both know.

Everett. Hello. Sorry, um, I hope I’m not late. No. You’re right on time. I’m so glad you’ve decided to try hypnosis. I’m hoping that, uh, we can get some clarity on your past. Actually, um, I think it was a mistake coming here today.

Hey, baby. Brought you some flowers for Easter. I know they’re a little bit late. I’m sorry.

So, um, I took the kids for a Easter egg hunt on Sunday over at the Kariakis Mansion. And, um, Maggie hid all these plastic little eggs around the grounds for the kids to find. And, uh, I put these little, little candies in them.

Of course, it turned into a competition. Thomas won. Yeah. Charlotte cried. She’d have been there. It was actually kind of hilarious. But Thomas ended up sharing with her in the end. So it all, it all worked out. Yeah, we had fun. Can you believe we’re living at the Kiriakis mansion? It’s just,

it’s crazy, right? Good news is the Horton house is being renovated. So we should be, we should be back, back home soon.

I miss you so much.

I’m sorry. Um, I’m sorry.

The man who took you from us, he escaped.

And it’s all my fault.

Like sand through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives.

Funny, I was lying in bed last night trying to Not to think about that certain journalist we both know. And my mind pretty randomly wandered to, of all things, that time capsule that you found and couldn’t open. I still can’t open it. And I’ve been obsessing over where is the key and what could be inside the time capsule.

And I’m afraid that key is just gone with the wind. That’s gotta be one funky key. Oh, I prefer to think of it as unique. Like my grandfather. I’m sure he wanted everyone in the family to gather and figure it out and solve it like a puzzle. Maybe you could get some ideas online. Post a picture of the box.

Use the internet, what a good idea! Oh, yes! I could help you with that! Oh, sweetie. Not now. Thank you, but not now. I’ve decided I’m not going to obsess on the time capsule. I’m going to devote all of my focus to this, to the house project,

because I know that my grandparents would want this place to, to be ready for all the generations to come.

This is all on me. It is. I mean, if I, if I hadn’t have interviewed Clyde for the, You know, I put his picture in the paper. He never would have retaliated. I

pushed him. And I, and I, you know, I put the whole thing in motion. I mean,

you know, I,

I just wanted to make him pay. For what he did to you.

You know.

Instead, he tried to kill our babies.

Our babies.

Our family. He

sent a henchman to, uh, torture our home.

That was your great grandparents house. You know, he

He spent all of your happiest days as a child there.

I let you down, baby. And I let your family down.

And now, you know, Clyde Weston escaped.

Escaped.

I’m gonna make it right.

I promise you, Abby. I will make it right.

There are a lot of misperceptions about hypnotherapy. I don’t know if you’ve read much about it. I have. Pretty good deal. I know that, uh, I’ll have access to my free will, more or less, and that, uh, I’ll remember everything afterwards. Yeah, that’s accurate. And what we try to do is access parts of your memory that maybe haven’t been available to us.

But that’s what freaks me out, Dr. Evans. I mean, part of me definitely wants to know the truth, you know? But, uh, As I told you the other time that we discussed this, Another part of me is Afraid of what I might find out. I understand. You will be right here with me. You’ll be safe. And if at any point, You don’t feel able to go on, we will stop.

Okay,

let’s give it a shot.

What are you thinking? I don’t want to ruin the mood. What? Come on, tell me.

Clyde and Goldman are still free. And we don’t know where they are or if they’re coming back. Yeah. For you. For Tripp. And Clyde really wanted his freedom, so I wanna think that he’s not gonna jeopardize showing his face around here anytime soon. Alright, listen. Clyde has a lot of things, but stupid is not one of them.

It’s true.

I’m gonna join the manhunt as soon as I can. What? Okay. Yeah. Not today. No, not today.

You know, you’re healing. You’re healing really fast. It’s like you’ve almost got all your strength back. Yeah, almost. I’m actually pretty impressed by your stamina. Well, I aim to please ma’am.

But, you know, before we get into another round, I’m kind of hungry. Should we, should we order some more food? Order? Wait, wait. You, you, you forget, sir, that I am an excellent cook. Well, no, I have not forgotten. Okay. I just didn’t want to impose. Okay. Well, no, no, no. You know, cooking is one of my greatest pleasures.

So you know what I’m gonna do? I’m gonna go in the kitchen. I’m gonna whip something up for you. Don’t move a muscle.

Okay, the front doors are locked. Good. No more customers. So you ready to go? Just about. I just have to wrap this bread. Oh, damn. What? I just got a big order for tomorrow, so, um, I’m gonna have to prep for it now. Or, maybe you could just say, sorry, no, it’s too late in the day to start a new order. No, if I do that, then tomorrow morning is just gonna be a nightmare, so I have to do it now.

But, I don’t want you to have to wait, so how about you head home, and then I will catch up with you later. Well, maybe I can help. You. You’re gonna help me bake. Well, I’m no baker, but I could follow directions, I’ll wash the dishes, tidy up. Yeah, thank you, but I can handle it. Come on, give me a shot. Look, you get some extra help, I get to spend a little extra time with my wife.

It’s a win win. Oh, okay. But do not distract me by looking at me with those big brown bedrooms. See, see, no, don’t do that. Okay, fine. Maybe I could, you know, if it helps, I could wear a flower sack over my head. Yeah, that actually might help. It’s fine. You know what? I can resist. I have willpower. Alright, come on.

Let’s get to work. Okay. That might be a little too contrasty. You hate it. Okay. Okay. What’s the bar? Oh, hey. This is me. Hang on a sec.

Oh, it’s from a potential new client, which is good. I could use the business, especially since I’m dropping the spectator. You are? Why? Well, I’m thinking about dropping it. I, I haven’t decided yet. Because of Everett? Yeah. Or Bobby. Whatever his real name is. Oh, honey. I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I admit, it’s very upsetting.

And it’ll be even more upsetting if it turns out it’s true that Everett was dating me on the side while he was married to Jada. No, he wasn’t. Yes. And now she can’t stand the sight of me. Oh, it wasn’t your fault? She accused me of missing the signs. Clearly Everett was hiding something big and I chose not to see it, she says.

Now maybe she’s right. Julie, maybe Maybe I did ignore what was right there in front of me the whole time.

You’re doing just fine. With every breath, double your relaxation.

Let all the tension flow out of you.

I think you’re in a safe place now. Can you tell me where you are?

Yeah, um,

there’s a gazebo. Okay. And a stream, a brook.

Alright, are you, are you there alone? Is anybody with you? No, I’m, I’m not alone. My mother is there. Helen.

Tell me about your mother. She’s, uh, She’s wonderful.

Elegant. Strong. She, she likes to bake. She’s wearing, um, an apron. And her hands are, are, are full of flour.

Is she sitting beside you? She’s, she’s looking out at the water.

She’s smiling.

Is there anything you’d like to talk to her about? Anything you’d like to ask her? Everett?

Everett? She’s there. You can ask her right now.

Why’d you do it, Mom?

So, Mrs. DiMera, where do we start? Well, Mr. Dupree, I’m glad you asked. Okay, so, cooking is An art, so it allows for improvisation and imprecision. Kind of like making a movie. Right, right. But we are not cooking. We’re baking. Which is a science. So, it calls for a step by step process of precise amounts of ingredients, timings, and temperatures.

Oh, so you’re a scientist. I’m impressed. Why, thank you. Alright, alright. First, I would like you to preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Yes, chef. Oh, well, technically I’m not a chef. Okay, then what should I call you? I don’t know, how about wife? Or babe? I’ll go with wife.

Stephanie, you cannot blame yourself for Everett’s lies. You didn’t know what was going on. And you were devastated when you found out he’d been married to Jada. Yeah, I was. And the timing couldn’t have been worse. See, I was just starting to think that maybe Everett was the one. Again. And then everything blew up in my face.

Again. How do you feel now? I feel confused. Angry. Really angry. Actually, I’m furious. Just when I thought that I could trust him again, that we might have a happily ever after, boom, this happens. And then I feel guilty. For being mad, like, why am I being unsympathetic to what Everett’s going through? Forget Everett.

Forget Everett’s problems. Darling, this is the time when you certainly should be thinking about yourself and taking care of yourself. And you’re not alone. I mean, you got the family. Lean on us, please. I will. And when the truth comes out, and it will, And whatever it is, we’ll get you through it. Hello? Hey.

Ah, hello darling. Good to see you two here. But I didn’t expect to see you. I thought you were coming by tomorrow. Uh, yeah, no, I was, but um, uh, I was supposed to come by and check out the, uh, Thomas and Charlotte’s remodeled bedroom. Oh, right. Yeah. So it is now a good time. Wonderful. Yeah. Oh, perfect. Great.

Yeah, you go upstairs and look around and have an opinion, and then come down and share it with us, and you can help us look through all of these fabric swatches. Ooh, can’t wait.

What did you do it, mom? Why did you do it?

Everett, you’re safe.

You’re safe right now. Nobody’s going to hurt you. No. I’m not. I’m not safe. That

hits the spot right there. I’m glad. I haven’t been grocery shopping in a long time with everything going on, so, uh, It was either French toast, or egg salad sandwiches, or scrambled eggs with toast. Well, you know what? All of that sounds good compared to the hospital food that I was just eating. You know what sounds good to me right now?

Hmm? Mmm, fresh pasta. What? Yeah. Don’t tell me you’re craving my seafood linguine. Oooh. Well, that would be heaven. But, uh, Hey, you know what? We should, um, We should go over to the bistro since it’s closed now and operations were shut down. We could have a little private dinner, you and me. I mean, it’s clean, it’s fully stocked.

What do you say? That sounds like a, That sounds like a plan. Okay. Then I’m going to be the chef, and I’m going to pick out the menu. Okay. Deal. But I just want you to know that I’m a very tough food critic. Oh. Oh, I see. Okay. Well, um, let’s see. I can guarantee that it is going to be Savory. Succulent. And very satisfying.

You know, actually, um, Who needs a fancy meal When you are all of the above.

You know, sometimes I still forget that we’re married. That’s right. I mean, we didn’t have much time as newlyweds with everything that’s happened, and as magical as our night was in the Salem Inn, that does not tick off the honeymoon box in my book. Well, we could go back to Italy. I could come and do the demerit jets.

You know I can’t go to Italy right now. I know. I know. You gotta stay close to home for a while. Yeah. Yeah, but as soon as the time is right, we will definitely take that trip to Italy. But in the meantime, how about we take Sarah up on her offer for the Horton family cabin? I mean, it is secluded out there on Smith Island.

Relaxing, peaceful. Nobody else around? Just the two of us? Sounds perfect. How soon can we go? I don’t know. I was thinking drapes. But is elegance passe? Is it old fashioned? No, not at all. It can be really beautiful. The kids are gonna love the remodeled bedroom. I mean, there’s even more space than there was before.

Well, there’s no furniture in the room and no children and no toys. Oh, yeah, that’s right. No, none of that. Uh, why don’t I, uh, bring us a snack? I have tuna sandwiches and fruit in a cooler. I Sounds amazing. Okay, I’ll be right back.

So, the kids must be anxious to move back in here. Yeah, they can’t wait. I mean, the Kiriakis place has been great. And Maggie dotes on him, as you can imagine. Oh, I definitely can. So, any, um, updates on, uh, Everett or is he going by Bobby now? Actually, I met with him yesterday to talk to him about hiring a new PR firm for The Spectator.

What are you talking about? You’re terrific. You can’t leave us. Thank you, but I feel awkward staying on. I’m sure you understand. You want me to fire him, again? Don’t do that. At least not yet. Okay, well, tell me when.

Um, what do you think about the house? It’s great. Yeah, no, it’s amazing. And, uh, I mean, you know, I obviously feel responsible for everything. For the fire. And, uh, it just breaks my heart that Doug and Julie had to go through all this. But it didn’t have to happen. It wasn’t your fault, Chad. Oh, yeah, it was. My egg busted on.

I mean, I practically taunted him into doing all of this. The man’s a lunatic. It’s a monster. Everybody knows that. Okay. I still feel responsible, so what do you want me to do? You know, for the fire, for, for, uh, him escaping, you know? I know it doesn’t make any sense, but, uh, you know, I went to talk to Abby about it at her grave site, which You know, I, I, I guess saying that, you know, maybe it sounds crazy, but, uh, You know, I mean, he’s the one that took her from us, so I don’t know, maybe it isn’t, but, you know, Thanks to me, who knows what other harm he’s gonna cause.

God only knows what he’s gonna do next.

Everett, tell me what’s happening.

I know you can hear my voice. Tell me what you’re seeing.

Nothing. Just, uh, A darkness.

Okay, that’s good. That’s good. Can you find a light? Can you find your way into some light? Just I can’t. Okay,

okay, okay, that’s enough. We’re gonna end now. I’m gonna count to three and when I do, you’re gonna be wide awake. Relaxed. Refreshed. You’ll remember everything we’ve talked about. One. Two. Three. Open your eyes.

Okay. Good. You’re right here. You’re right here with me. And you’re safe.

Deborah,

would you tell me what you remembered?

I remember.

I’m sorry, um, I, I, I don’t know. All right. You said that you saw Some darkness. And something was disturbing after you saw your mother, is that right? Uh, I’m not sure. She’s kind of fuzzy. How do you feel now? A little shaky.

We made a very good start today. Clearly there’s something bothering you, something blocking you from going forward. We could deal with that in our next session. If you’d like to? Yeah. Definitely. Good. You let me know if you have any, any memories at all. I will. I, uh, I should probably get back to work. Um, just have to get going.

But, uh, thank you so much. And, uh, I’ll, I’ll set up another appointment.

I hope it helped ease your mind. Going to visit Abigail? Yeah, yeah, I did. It’s not your fault for what happened. You know that, right?

Everyone’s safe. The house is still standing. And before long it’s gonna be as good as new. Your family and your friends care about you so much. Lean on us. Okay. Thank you. And you too. I mean, I know, I know you’re going through a rough time as well, so. Here we go. Uh, Julie, I, I’m so sorry. I’ve got to run, actually.

I, I’m going to go meet that, um, new client that I mentioned. Okay, uh, sandwich for the road. And how about an apple? Love it. Thank you. Thank you. Um, keep me posted on design choices. Oh, of course. Of course I will, dear. Bye, John. See you, Steph. You

don’t look too happy. Talk to me.

It’s just, um, I’m just so sorry about the house. I mean, it’s all my fault. Julie, it’s all my fault.

Mmm.

Oh, so you don’t need a fancy meal, huh? Uh, maybe we need some nourishment. We have been burning calories. Yeah. I do so enjoy burning calories with you.

You know, I do have a feeling is that we’re going to be burning a lot more of them too. So, uh, you want to go to the bistro? Go there and just rejuvenate. Yeah, let’s do it. But I feel like I should shower first before our dinner date. I feel kind of sweaty. Yeah. Well, you know, calorie burning will do that to you.

And you know, I have been just as active as you are. So.

Ergo, I think that I need a shower too. You say, did you say ergo? I did. Mmm, I like your logic.

Wait, wait, wait, right here in the kitchen. Yeah, sure, why not? Because it’s a health violation. And you know that I’m already in the doghouse with the health department. Thanks. Okay, so we wait. We wait. Or, I have a few, uh, big, soft flower bags. Still on their pallets, in my storeroom. Uh, flower bags? Would that not also be a health code violation?

Not if we throw them out afterwards. I like the way you think.

Hey. Hey. Hi. You’re Cyd?

So, how are you? Um,

I had my first hypnosis session today. Oh, yeah? How’d that go? Uh, intense. I saw something when I was under something that scared the hell out of me.

Chad, you’ve got to let it go. I’ve made, uh, such a mess of everything, Julian, you know. Now Clyde’s free. Nobody blames you for the fire. Well, I did. For a nanosecond, but I was wrong, I was really wrong. Look at me. Chad. Say, I am not to blame for the fire. Say it. Chad! I’m not to blame for the fire. Good. And now, second, I am not responsible for the criminal actions of Clyde Weston.

Do you have to say that out loud to me, too? No. Good.

I went to see Abby today to apologize. Oh, honey. My mother struggles, Julie. You know, sometimes I, um, I think I’m doing my best to raise these kids without their mother, and then other days I feel like I’m

I’m failing. And today is one of those days. I just I miss her so much all the time. Baby, we all miss her. This isn’t something you can do alone. Don’t you know how the family loves you? Supports you and the children? Why do you think I want to build this house back up again? Because it’s, it’s something that we all have a constant in our lives.

It’s a symbol. It means, it means family. It means love. It means hope.

Xander comes home to Sarah, who is getting ready for work. Xander informs her that Justin just dropped off an envelope with all the evidence against him including a flash drive of pictures. Sarah wishes she didn’t have to go to work. Xander knows she’ll be there in spirit. Xander talks about being so happy that Sarah is with him on this and believes in him. Sarah points out that there’s also Harris who doesn’t think Xander shot him. Xander calls that a start and says now all they have to do is find actual proof that he is innocent.

Tate asks Theresa to stop talking about Holly like she’s a villain. Theresa argues that Holly nearly ruined his life and because of the restraining order, shouldn’t even be calling him. Tate points out that’s why she had to pose as his mother. Theresa questions Tate defending that. Tate complains that Holly wanted to see how he was doing because she is his friend and cares about him. Tate asks Theresa to chill the hell out but Theresa refuses until he tells her why he won’t stop speaking to that spoiled little brat.

Brady returns to the living room of the DiMera Mansion and asks where everyone went since he just took a work call. EJ informs him that the party is over. Brady says he was on his way out as he is going to see Tate. EJ tells Brady to leave Holly alone. Brady remarks that he was just stating a fact while EJ argues that he only said it to upset Holly. Nicole asks them not to do this now. Brady then goes to leave but Holly stops him. Holly tells Nicole that she’s so sorry. Holly then announces that it was her drugs on the night she overdosed, shocking Nicole and EJ. Holly apologizes for not telling everyone from the beginning. EJ questions why now and if she had some sort of epiphany. Brady warns that he’s about to come down on Holly because his son went to jail for this and went through Hell because Holly decided to lie about this for weeks. Nicole asks Holly if it’s true. EJ doesn’t believe it. Holly admits that she should’ve told everyone sooner. Nicole questions Eric knowing. Holly explains that Eric knew something was bothering her, so she had to tell him because she couldn’t keep it in any longer. Nicole questions why she went to Eric and not her. Holly responds that she knew Eric wouldn’t judge her and she was afraid that Nicole would blame herself. EJ trusts that Holly will them the whole story then and asks if Tate was her dealer. Brady asks what EJ’s problem is and why he hates his son so much. Eric tells Brady to take it down a notch but Brady tells him to stay out of this. Holly assures that Tate did not give her the drugs and warned her not to take them. EJ calls Tate the delinquent who got kicked out of boarding school and questions him suddenly being a saint. Brady tells EJ that they can take this outside. Holly asks EJ to listen. Eric calls for everyone to calm down and let Holly speak. Holly brings up when Nicole and EJ came in her room and thought she was asleep but she overheard what Nicole said about being afraid she had been a terrible mother by not paying enough attention to her. Holly adds that she knew Nicole blamed herself for her accident while she was pregnant. Holly cries that she thought that Nicole wouldn’t be able to take it if she found out her daughter was a druggie. Nicole hugs Holly as she cries.

Tate complains that Theresa acts like Holly is evil, but he swears she’s not a bad person. Tate blames himself for sneaking out to see her. Theresa argues that he broke in to the house of the district attorney. Theresa complains about Tate going to jail and now being in a halfway house all because of Holly, who could remember what really happened but claims she can’t. Tate questions if she finally believes him then. Theresa responds that they always have from the beginning and told him that over and over. Theresa says they have been praying that Holly would wake up and clean up the whole mess, but instead she threw him under the bus. Theresa doesn’t believe Holly is a good person and declares that she is bad news. Theresa calls Holly a selfish little liar, who she despises.

Nicole tells Holly that she could’ve come to her. Holly apologizes as she thought she was protecting her. EJ questions why Holly confided in Eric. Eric says it’s because they are close. Brady argues that it doesn’t matter and shouts that Tate has been going through Hell because Holly has been lying for weeks. Holly calls it a horrible mistake that she will regret for the rest of her life and she wishes she told the truth from the beginning. EJ questions how they know she’s telling the truth now. Holly informs him that she has proof and reveals that it’s in her room. Nicole tells her to show her so they head upstairs together.

Sarah tells Xander that she will be home a little late. Xander says he’ll probably be in the same spot and jokes that he’ll be checking on Victoria every ten minutes. Sarah says she will check in on her break and she has a very good feeling about this. Xander assures that he won’t give up until he finds something. Sarah then exits. Xander complains that he could never make it as a detective, searching for clues all day. Victoria wakes up crying, so Xander goes to take care of her. Xander declares that he’s not going to let anyone send him up the river for something he didn’t do and promises to make Victoria proud of him.

Holly brings Nicole to her room and asks if she’s ashamed of her. Nicole asks how she could be ashamed of her when she knows she only withheld the truth to protect her. Nicole wishes she came to her about it. Holly apologizes and repeats that she didn’t want her to fall apart. Nicole says she loves her for that but she’s stronger than she thinks. Nicole asks Holly to show her the proof. Holly then opens up her jewelry box and reveals the drugs inside. Nicole doesn’t know what to say. Nicole decides they need to go downstairs and show everyone else right now, so they exit the room.

Nicole and Holly return to the living room where Holly presents the drugs to EJ, Brady, and Eric. Holly promises that Tate was shocked when he saw them and refused to take any when she offered them. Holly repeats that Tate tried to stop her from taking the drugs. Brady points out that Holly still let Tate take the blame for her overdose this whole time. Nicole suggests maybe Holly didn’t remember until recently and the coma affected her memory. Nicole asks Holly if that’s the case.

Paulina and Abe wait in her hospital room until Sarah arrives. Paulina asks what the oncologist had to say. Sarah says that he asked her to go through her test results. Paulina asks her to tell them the good news.

Tate asks Theresa to quit yelling at him. Theresa asks if he doesn’t know how upsetting this is and how it’s been hell on all of them. Tate complains that it’s mostly been on him so he doesn’t need her getting mad at him on top of everything else. Theresa admits that he’s right and apologizes as she shouldn’t be lashing out at him. Theresa hopes Tate will take this to heart. Tate doesn’t want another lecture on relationships. Theresa calls it just a few words of wisdom. Theresa then sits with Tate and tells him that relationships are complicated and she’s had her fair share of them and learned a lot. Tate says this isn’t like when she was younger as everything is different now. Theresa agrees that maybe they didn’t use apps, ghost each other, or communicate on social media but those feelings are exactly the same. Tate argues that he’s not a little boy anymore. Theresa asks him to let her finish. Theresa talks about the rush feeling of infatuation when involved with somebody. Theresa calls that a crush which is exciting but temporary and not the basis of a strong, healthy relationship that can last decades. Tate argues that’s not what he’s looking for. Theresa insists that he’s ready to start thinking about relationships, so he has to understand the key to a successful relationship is mutual respect. Tate questions her thinking he doesn’t know that. Theresa complains that he must’ve forgotten that with Holly because she clearly doesn’t respect him or care that he was falsely accused of a terrible crime or else she would’ve come forward. Tate responds that he’s sure Holly has her reasons for not being able to tell the truth. Theresa remarks that Tate is making excuses for inexcusable behavior. Theresa admits this is turning in to a lecture so she will stop there. Theresa wants Tate to ask himself if he trusts Holly enough for her to be honest and will she always have his back.

Xander gets Victoria back to sleep and goes back to looking over the evidence on his laptop. Xander reads over witness statements. Xander jokes that he envies Victoria being able to nap but says there’s no rest for the wicked as he continues reading witness statements.

Sarah announces that Paulina is in complete remission with no signs of cancer which thrills Paulina and Abe. Paulina hugs Abe and Sarah as she thanks God. Sarah tells Paulina that she’s so happy for her. Paulina asks what’s next. Sarah says she will have radioactive iodine treatments and be isolated for a few days, then take a few precautions after. Paulina asks about when she goes home after that and if she’ll still be able to have bear claws from the Bakery. Sarah confirms that she can have anything as soon as her treatment is completed. Paulina declares that she and Abe will be just fine then as they hug.

Holly tells Nicole that at first, her memory was a little fuzzy but after a day or so, she remembered everything and after she heard what Nicole said about blaming herself, she lied and didn’t know how to take it back or she was too much of a coward to take it back. Brady declares he’s done with talking as he gets that Holly decided not to hurt Nicole and hurt Tate instead. Brady demands that EJ get Tate out of the halfway house now and he wants all the charges dropped. EJ responds that it can’t happen immediately as it will take time. Brady threatens to file a civil suit if it doesn’t happen immediately and adds that he wants a very public apology to Tate in newspapers like the Spectator. Brady then storms out of the mansion. EJ angrily follows him out. Nicole tells Holly that EJ will take care of this but Holly cries that she made such a mess out of everything that nothing will ever be fine again. Holly runs out of the room while Eric tells Nicole to let her go. Eric hugs Nicole as she starts to cry. Nicole asks Eric how long he has known. Eric says that Holly told him today after the Christening, but he felt it was her place to tell Nicole and not his. Nicole calls him one of the few people she knows that still keeps people’s confidence. Nicole brings up that Holly almost didn’t go to the Christening. Eric says it meant a lot to him that they were all there. Nicole calls it somehow comforting as she felt a little closer to her baby in Heaven. Eric encourages that she’s a good mother. Nicole responds that she doesn’t feel like one right now, but if Holly learns from her mistakes. EJ returns and announces that it’s taken care of. Nicole thanks Eric for being there for Holly. Eric says they will talk soon and exits. As Eric exits, he finds Holly sitting outside. Eric tells Holly that it was a very brave thing she did. Holly tells Eric that she loves him. Eric says he loves her too. Holly remarks that sometimes she wishes Eric and Nicole, but then says nevermind. Eric responds that he and Nicole are both happily married now which means Holly has even more people in her life that care about her. Eric adds that he’s always there for her. Holly says she knows.

Paulina thanks Sarah again for getting her through as she knows she can be a handful. Sarah calls Paulina her favorite patient and says she makes all the doctors and nurses feel appreciated. Sarah reminds Paulina to check her records online and make a follow up appointment. They say goodbye as Abe and Paulina then exit the hospital. Sarah calls Xander and asks if everything is okay. Xander says he’s just super frustrated as he’s been searching for hours but it’s an endless maze of dead ends. Sarah encourages that he will find something and she will help him when she gets off. Sarah suggests Xander take Victoria for a jog and clear his head. Xander calls that an excellent idea to try out the new stroller that Maggie got them. They say I love you to each other and hang up. Xander tells Victoria that they are going to play with her new stroller and mentions that he will change in to his jogging clothes, but then stops and says that Rafe said one of the witnesses described his jogging clothes which he wears every time he runs and are pretty distinctive. Xander then goes back to his laptop and reads over the witness statements.

Brady joins Theresa and Tate at the halfway house while finishing a call with Justin. Tate asks what’s going on. Brady tells Tate to pack his bags and announces he’s coming home which shocks Tate and Theresa. Tate can’t believe it while Theresa asks what happens next. Brady adds that Justin will have someone come take the ankle monitor off as all charges have been dropped including the restraining order which Justin confirmed with EJ. Theresa calls this fantastic and so unexpected. Theresa asks what happened. Brady then reveals that Holly admitted it, that the drugs were hers and Tate had nothing to do with it while he even tried to stop her from doing the drugs. Theresa and Tate are relieved. Brady declares that everyone now knows that Tate was telling the truth all along.

Xander finds something in the statements and remarks that’s what he gets for wearing the same track suit all the time. Xander declares that this is it, a slam dunk, and he’s going to be a free man.

Paulina and Abe return home. Paulina declares that her two favorite words are now cancer free. Abe says he had a feeling but couldn’t rest easy until hearing it from the doctor. Paulina is excited to spend a cozy night at home with her husband. Paulina says she’s never loved their humble abode as much as she does now. Paulina knows she’ll have to spend several days at the hospital for the iodine treatment but for now she’s not going to worry. Abe encourages that it’s just standard procedure and she’ll get through it with flying colors.

Nicole tells EJ that she is grateful for Eric helping out and encouraging Holly to be truthful. EJ says Holly obviously loves and trusts Eric which gives him credibility to him. Nicole admits they have a very special connection. EJ confirms he had the charges against Tate dropped. Nicole thanks him and knows Holly will be relieved as well. EJ says it’s obviously been weighing heavily on her and she obviously cares about Tate a great deal, but they’ve known that for awhile. EJ now wonders who did Holly get the drugs from or if she went off on her own looking for them. Nicole says she doesn’t know but they will have to question Holly about where the drugs came from and who gave them to her, pointing out that the drugs nearly killed her. EJ knows that would’ve destroyed Nicole but now the most important thing is to support Holly and help her though this very difficult time. EJ declares that they will do that together as a family as they hug.

Tate asks about Holly confessing. Brady confirms she did to him, Eric, Nicole, and even EJ. Tate can’t believe that Holly really came through for him. Brady says he’ll call John when they wrap up because he and Marlena will be very happy. Theresa suggests they go out and celebrate at the Brady Pub. Tate feels he should call Holly. Brady suggests waiting until he’s settled in. Theresa tells Tate not to go overboard in thanking her because she’s still very angry over what Holly put him through. Tate responds that he was angry too but he’s not anymore. Tate mentions that he even told Holly she didn’t have to tell the truth the last time they talked which Brady questions. Theresa asks why Tate keeps protecting Holly like this when she almost ruined his life. Tate says it’s okay because it’s over now. Theresa agrees that they’ve been vindicated. Brady tells Tate to start packing now. Tate says he can’t wait to get out as they hug.

Anna tells the man that runs the police academy that she has a potential candidate: Dex. He wonders if it’s a good idea to have Sonny’s former employee become a cop, but she thinks he’ll be useful. She tells the cop, who thought she was partial to Sonny, that she wants to focus on organized crime in Port Charles.

Later, Sonny visits Anna, wondering is she’s going to press charges against Jason. She tells him off, angrily. He wonders why she’s being that way. She tells him that she’s been nice to him because of Robin and Stone, but she was not OK with his beating up an old man (Cyrus). She orders him out of her office.

Young & The Restless Transcript

Transcript provided by Suzanne

Jack: As if that wasn’t enough, I had the distinct displeasure of running into tucker.

Traci: Why doesn’t he just pack up everything and move to france and run glissade?

Jack: That is exactly what I said to him. Do you know he had the nerve to want to discuss ashley with me?

Traci: Well, I’m not surprised. But why he thinks she’s any of his business after all he’s put her through?

Jack: He claims to be concerned about her, that she’s acting erratically.

Traci: Really? What did he say exactly?

Jack: That she wants to be his partner again in business and romance.

Traci: Oh, that definitely doesn’t sound like ashley.

Jack: No, it is not ashley. She has made it very clear to both of us she wants nothing to do with that man. In my mind, this is just another example of him trying to stir up trouble for this family.

Tucker: Hey.

Audra: Ugh.

Tucker: Five minutes.

Audra: Not five seconds.

Tucker: I was wrong.

Audra: Yeah, I’ve heard that before.

Tucker: Please, audra.

Audra: Two minutes. It’s ticking.

Tucker: You’re right to be angry with me about this whole thing with ashley. Whether she is actually having some kind of breakdown or she’s faking it, it’s not my concern. You are. Only you. You’re everything.

Victor: Jordan’s escape is an outrageous blunder on the part of my security team and law enforcement. You find the woman. You call me.

Adam: How is it even possible that that woman is an unstoppable threat?

Victor: Hell, she is. I’m gonna find her and put an end to her.

Jordan: Well, I’ve seen worse. Oh. The newmans and their amateur hour. They thought they could take me down. Well, it’s time for a reckoning. Hey! It’s your dry skin.

Announcer: Additional sponsorship provided by…

Victor: That woman will be brought to justice if it’s the last damn thing I do.

Adam: Well, she must really be insane if she doesn’t have the sense to stay out of your way.

Victor: I just can’t believe this. Have a seat, son. What brings you by? Anything at newman I need to address?

Adam: No, it’s– it’s nothing like that. Um, I just wanted to let you know that I’m heading to the east coast tonight with chelsea and connor. But don’t worry, my work will get taken care of.

Victor: Kind of short notice, isn’t it?

Adam: It’s connor.

Victor: What’s going on with our boy?

Adam: Connor has ocd and we’re doing everything we can to get him through it.

Audra: Now you agree with me? That ashley’s faking her crazy?

Tucker: I do.

Audra: Yeah, just like that.

Tucker: Yeah, well after careful consideration.

Audra: You know, or maybe you’re just telling me what you think I want to hear because you’re not getting your way.

Tucker: Which answer will get me a second chance?

Audra: Tucker–

Tucker: You see, you’re all I want. You’re it.

Audra: Yeah, I heard that a million times.

Tucker: Listen to me, please. Ashley’s problem, real or not, is hers to deal with. Hers and her family’S. And I– I just told jack as much.

Audra: Really?

Tucker: Yes, really. I– you accused me of wanting to play hero to ashley, to save her from herself. When the only person in the world I would ever really want to play hero to is you.

Audra: Well, since I don’t need saving, you can–

Tucker: Please, I am desperate here! I cannot lose you. I won’T. What– what can we do to get back to where we were?

Jack: Diane and I are meeting at the club for a drink. Would you care to join us?

Traci: Oh, that sounds nice. Um, no, thank you. Actually, I have some reading I need to do. I think I’ll stay in.

Jack: Well, enjoy.

Traci: That’s the goal.

Ashley: I do not need or want you to be watching me like a hawk for any kind of weakness.

Traci: Ashley, I’m sorry if you think that we’re hovering or you feel cornered, but you can’t blame us to be–

Ashley: I can blame you and I do. I am stable. I am solid. And I want to move on with my life. So back the hell off and let me. Traci.

[ Ashley laughing ] You look like you’re a million miles away.

Traci: Hi, so sorry.

Ashley: Please don’t tell me that that concerned look on your face has something to do with me.

Traci: Well, unfortunately, it does. Tucker is not over you. Okay, I’m over tucker.

Ashley: Do I really have to say it again? Okay, I’m over tucker. You don’t have to worry or hover.

Traci: Okay. That is very good to hear. But apparently, tucker is not over you.

Ashley: Really? What does that mean?

Traci: I guess jack ran into him earlier, and tucker said he was very concerned about you, that your behavior is erratic.

Ashley: Yeah, he tried that on me, too. I guess he thinks that, um, because I was wrong about what happened in paris, that that indicates that I’m falling apart. Obviously, he’s trying to make me doubt myself. But you don’t have to believe his garbage now, do you?

Traci: So, what you’re saying is that his– tucker’s claims are just another way for him to manipulate you.

Ashley: Yeah, as if that could ever be the case.

Traci: Well, I can’t speak for tucker’s sincerity, but you have to admit, you’ve been a little moody, and not quite yourself since we got back from paris. Maybe that’s why he’s jumping to conclusions about what’s going on with you.

Ashley: And you’re not gonna let me forget for a second that I was wrong about what happened in that stupid cafe, are you?

Traci: Okay, come on, I’m not trying to upset you.

Ashley: Well, it is upsetting. You’re choosing to believe tucker over me, and I am your sister.

Victor: Obsessive-compulsive disorder. I’ve heard that term pertaining to adults, but rarely to children.

Adam: I didn’t know that either.

Victor: Ah.

Adam: You know, when connor first started having issues at school, we thought it was a learning difference, an academic issue. But then we found a doctor who made the diagnosis.

Victor: So, what’s the cure?

Adam: There is no cure. But there are tools that he can learn to manage the diagnosis. He needs something called exposure and response prevention therapy, erp. Chelsea found the best residential program in the country, and we’re lucky enough to get the last spot. So, that’s why we have to leave immediately.

Victor: Take my jet. I mean, I’ll make the arrangements.

Adam: Well, nick already made the offer. So, it’s nice to know that we have your blessing, too.

Victor: My boy, just know that whatever you and chelsea and connor need, you just come to me, all right?

Adam: That means more than you know.

Victor: Yeah, well, I know what it is like to have a child that suffers. And there’s nothing you can do about it.

Adam: You know, we have to do this. It is the right move to make, but I don’t want to let him out of my sight. Connor says that he hates himself. What do I do with that? I mean, how do I– how do I help him?

Victor: That breaks my heart, you know? You just continue doing what you and chelsea are planning to do. I mean, it’s the right move. Just trust yourself.

Adam: Dad, I’m– but I’m the screw-up. I’m that guy that never gets it right. What if it’s happened this time? What if what’s happening with connor is my fault? I mean, I love the hell out of my kid, but I wasn’t always around, was I? And connor didn’t exactly have the most stable childhood.

Victor: Well… I had a son I loved very much. Couldn’t be around him when things were difficult, and he had a tough childhood. And I am proud of the man that boy has become. Of the father he has become.

Victoria: Hi. Have you seen claire?

Victor: No.

Victoria: I’ve looked everywhere for her. Will you alert your security team and ask if they’ve seen her, please?

Adam: Look, she’s probably fine.

Victoria: Probably? Probably isn’t good enough, all right? Not with jordan out there.

Victor: Sweetheart, there’s no way jordan would have come onto this property without security catching her. There’s no way she took claire away.

Adam: Yes, I can vouch for that. Security was so tight, I could barely get in.

Victoria: That’s because they don’t like you. That doesn’t mean that claire didn’t figure out a way to leave.

Victor: I don’t think claire would do that. She knows how dangerous that would be. She wouldn’t leave on her own.

Victoria: I wouldn’t be so sure.

Michael: Claire.

Claire: Hello!

Michael: Well, uh, not that it isn’t great to see you, but what are you doing here?

Claire: I’m enjoying a mocha latte, extra mocha. Because I can.

Michael: No better reason. You look good.

Claire: Feel good. And I’m kind of celebrating.

Michael: Ah, what’s the occasion?

Claire: This is my very first time out in the actual real world all by myself since I was released from the hospital.

Michael: Well, good for you. But with your aunt no longer in custody, I’m surprised that victor and your family would let you off the ranch, let alone out of their sight.

Claire: They wouldn’t, which is why I didn’t tell them.

Michael: You think that’s a good idea?

Claire: They probably won’t be happy, but jordan doesn’t scare me and I can’t let fear control my life. Not anymore. Wow.

Michael: I am glad that you’re feeling so strong, but I can’t help being a little worried that you’re out here unprotected given that you are still very much a target for jordan.

Claire: Duly noted. But what seems like a risk to you, it feels absolutely amazing for me. I can’t live my life worried that my aunt is lurking around every corner. I’m free of her. I’m free of the hate that she poured into me. And I’m gonna live my life like a normal person for the first time ever.

[ Michael chuckling ]

Michael: You are a very strong young woman, just like your mother.

Claire: Really? You think I’m like victoria?

Michael: I do. Very much so. Pecan muffins.

Lauren: You caught me. They’re my obsession.

Claire: Well, your secret is safe with me.

Lauren: Thank you.

Michael: Oh, lauren, this is victoria’s daughter, claire.

Lauren: I’ve heard a lot about you.

Claire: I can imagine.

Lauren: Well, you’ve gone through a lot and you’ve come out the other side.

Claire: I owe a lot to your husband. He could’ve refused my case, but he took a chance and here I am.

Michael: Yay.

Lauren: Yes. So, I’m assuming you’re gonna stay in genoa city?

Claire: There’s no place I’d rather be. I’m mostly focused on getting to know my family right now.

Lauren: Yes, and getting to know the newmans is a full-time job.

Claire: Oh, that is true. They’ve been so kind.

Lauren: Oh, well, they certainly are. So, tell me, what are you interested in? What do you think you’re gonna do?

Claire: Well, there was this little girl at the hospital. I would play games with her and read to her. And I think it was really good for both of us. So, nikki and my parents have suggested I might like to work with kids.

Lauren: Oh, that sounds nice.

Claire: Summer. Hey.

Michael: Hi, summer.

Lauren: We were just getting to know your cousin. You know, actually, I’ve got to get back to work.

Michael: Oh, I’m headed to victor’S. Let me drop you.

Lauren: Okay.

Michael: Right. Claire, summer.

Lauren: You just want these muffins.

Michael: Yes, I do.

Claire: Summer, would you like to sit?

Summer: I actually can’T. I gotta get back to work. This was just a quick little coffee break.

Claire: Maybe next time.

Summer: Yeah, good to see you.

Claire: Summer? You learned the whole truth about me, didn’t you?

Summer: Um. Yeah, what you did to your family, um… my family. Can’t really wrap my head around it.

Claire: It makes sense for you to be freaked out. What I did was horrible and I’m ashamed. But I’m not that person anymore. I’ve gotten help. I’ll keep getting help. And I will spend the rest of my life trying to prove myself to all of you.

Summer: You tried to kill my dad. My aunt. My– my grandparents. I– I gotta ask you. What makes you think that you will ever be qualified to work with children?

Tucker: You’re right to wanna walk away from me. About all this with ashley. You probably should have. I made promises to you that I didn’t keep. I was not honest with you. But you’ve been so patient with me. And you stood by me when you didn’t have to. And most people would not have. And yet, I still haven’t made you the priority I should have made you. And that makes me a fool. So, here I am. A liar and a fool. And you should probably walk away. I won’t blame you if you do. When I think about my life without you, audra… and, uh… I’m so lucky to have you in my life and… you’re– you’re my best friend. And, um, I’m sorry. I don’t know what else to say. What do you need me to say?

Audra: I just need you to look at me in my eyes and say the only words I know you can’t say without meaning them.

Tucker: I love you, audra.

Audra: I love you too.

Diane: To taking a break from our crazy busy schedules for a little us time.

Jack: I will drink to that. Ah, I think I needed this.

Diane: Tough day?

Jack: Tucker.

Diane: Oh, no, what now?

Jack: Oh, more of his mind games. He claims he is concerned about ashley’s mental health. There’s something terribly wrong with her.

Diane: Oh, my god, it never stops with him.

Jack: I don’t know what his ultimate agenda is. I do know my sister. If she is behaving out of character, it’s because she’s under a great deal of stress. I’ve talked to her about this. She says she’s fine.

Diane: Do you believe her?

Jack: I have been with ashley through a number of emotional issues for her. I have seen her confused. I have seen her unsure of herself. No, she is strong. She is solid. Yes, I do believe her.

Traci: Um, I don’t believe a word that tucker says.

Ashley: Well, I’m glad to hear it. I mean, I’ve never felt more focused and more sure of myself. It is funny though, isn’t it?

Traci: What?

Ashley: Well, tucker does seem to be genuinely concerned about me. He actually told me that he feels responsible that somehow our breakup pushed me over the edge. Let him think I’m crazy. It’s exactly what I want.

Traci: Oh, okay. You want tucker to think that you’re crazy. Would you mind kind of walking me through this? Because this makes absolutely no sense. Especially because you’re over him, right?

Ashley: I’m in complete control of the situation. I’m not playing into tucker’s hands. In fact, this is all going exactly how I intended to.

Traci: It is?

Ashley: I have a plan.

Traci: Oh, now there’s a phrase that terrifies me, I have a plan. Rarely goes the way you want it to. You mind sharing some of this with me?

Ashley: You’re just gonna have to trust me, trace.

Traci: I do trust you. But I’m also really curious.

Ashley: Well, I don’t want to ruin the surprise, so you’re gonna have to wait.

Traci: Oh, come on. I was your wingwoman in paris. You’ve got to have somebody to bounce ideas off of, right?

Ashley: Why? So, you can talk me out of it?

Traci: Everybody needs a sounding board.

Ashley: I’ve got tucker just where I want him. See, he’s so worried about poor ashley. He feels so guilty about her because she’s weak and she’s fragile. You know, she’s vulnerable. What that does, it makes him vulnerable. Because you see, all I have to do is get him to trust me. With his heart and with his empire. And then, I’m gonna take it all away. So, all he’s left with is that sad, desolate, bankrupt soul of his.

Traci: Okay, ashley. After everything you’ve been through, do you really think it’s wise to get that close to tucker again? Come on. This is not the first time that you’ve cozied up to him.

Ashley: I’m smarter now.

Traci: And he is someone who’s difficult to fool. How are you gonna get his company away from him?

Ashley: Oh, I don’t know. I’m just gonna do it. It’s perfect. He’s not gonna see me coming.

Traci: Wait, I– I don’t know about any of this. And none of it sounds good. Ashley, please don’t go. Ashley, wait a minute.

[ Door slams ]

Diane: I hate that I got so angry with kyle. And I realize that I’ve just been looking for any evidence that he didn’t respect me as his superior. And I am gonna stop doing that.

Jack: I think that’s very generous of you. And for what it’s worth, I saw kyle at the house and we talked about the issue.

Diane: What did he say?

Jack: He confessed that he has had some feelings of resentment.

Diane: You see? It wasn’t my imagination. He does resent me. That’s not okay.

Jack: He also volunteered that he knows he has to work through this, on his own.

Diane: Jack, what if he can’t? I mean, I have worked so hard to have a relationship with my son. No job is worth sacrificing that for.

[ Diane sighs ] What would you say if I suggested that kyle and I reverse roles?

Adam: You’re so worried that jordan could have got to claire. Have you ever considered that claire maybe ran off to be with her aunt, to team up against our family again?

[ Victoria scoffs ]

Victoria: You know, it’s fascinating. Ever since you’ve come into our lives, all you’ve wanted was for us to accept you. And you won’t extend that same grace to my daughter.

[ Adam sighs ]

Adam: You know what? You’re right. I’m sorry.

Victoria: Oh, an apology? Why are you being so nice?

Adam: Look, I may not be completely convinced that claire is not a threat based on what she’s done, but we are protective of our kids. I get that. So, I should have kept my mouth shut.

Victoria: I’m sorry, but this is so unlike you.

Adam: Yeah, well, maybe I learned a few things recently.

Victoria: Like what?

Adam: Oh, god, you’re gonna hear it sooner or later. Connor has been diagnosed with ocd.

Victoria: What? Oh, my god, I’m sorry. Is he okay?

Adam: He’s scared. I’m scared, but he’s putting on a brave face. Chelsea and I, we’re leaving tonight to get him into a residential program.

Victoria: Well, I’m sorry for everything that connor has to go through. And you and chelsea as well.

Adam: Thank you.

Victoria: It’s smart, though, for you to be proactive. I think, um, early intervention is probably key in something like this. If there’s anything I can do.

Victor: Thank you for the update. Yeah.

Victoria: What did you find out?

Victor: Well, according to security at the front gate, claire left a while ago saying she was gonna get a cup of coffee.

Victoria: So, she just went out to get coffee?

Victor: No more information than that.

Claire: I saw kyle earlier and I explained to him, I’m working through things and therapy, and I’m doing everything that I can to get better and– and build a real life for myself. That means trying to be productive, giving back, and yeah, hopefully, that means working with kids. Maybe because of the terrible things that I did. Maybe because of the terrible things that were done to me when I was a kid.

Summer: So you were a victim?

Claire: I was stolen, cut off from my family, told that I was unwanted so that I could be used and manipulated and it worked. I did what I was told and it was awful, but I take responsibility for what I did. And I’m taking responsibility for my present, for my future, to make a difference in a good way. I really hope that you can see that and you can trust me. And maybe, who knows, one day we could have a real relationship as cousins.

[ Door opens ]

Summer: Chance.

Chance: Hey.

Summer: Hey. Um, claire, this is chance chancellor. Chance, this is my cousin, claire.

Chance: Oh, very nice to meet you.

Claire: Nikki pointed you out at diane and jack’s vow renewal. She said you were a genuine hero.

Chance: Oh, well, that’s a little too generous.

Summer: No, don’t be modest. You are a hero, even if you’re not wearing the uniform anymore.

[ Phone ringing ]

Claire: Oh, um, it’s my mom. I should probably get back to the ranch before they call out the security guards.

Summer: Hm. Sounds very serious.

Claire: At least I got my coffee. It was great meeting you.

Chance: Yeah, you as well.

Claire: Good to see you, summer.

Summer: You too.

If you have chronic

kidney disease you can reduce

Jack: Are you really saying what I think you’re saying? You would give up your job as co-ceo for kyle?

Diane: Look, I love my job. I love working so closely with you. But I really want our son to soar. And I’m afraid that his resentment towards me is gonna get in the way of that.

Jack: It is not enough to make this drastic a change.

Diane: Jack, please, just give it some thought.

Jack: Okay. Switching jobs at this point may seem like an answer, but it– it doesn’t solve the problem. I’ve said this before, you and kyle have to find a way to resolve this. To work through things, to find common ground, so that you can work together effectively.

Diane: So, I guess that’s a no.

Jack: I won’t even consider it. I honestly believe you are where you belong. Where you deserve to be.

Victoria: There you are! Where were you? I was so worried about you.

Claire: I’m fine. I just went for a coffee.

Adam: Alone?

Claire: Why do you care?

Adam: Because people were worried.

Victoria: Okay, okay, it’s not safe. So, don’t do that again. Don’t– don’t do that until jordan is in custody.

Victor: Claire, listen to me. Next time you inform your mother about your whereabouts, and/or take someone from the security team along with you.

Claire: I will. And I’m sorry that I worried you so much. But I can’t just hide here in this house. I– I have to get used to living out in the real world and going out on my own. I– I refuse to be afraid of jordan.

Victor: You sound like your grandmother.

Victoria: I’m proud of you. I know that you want to be independent, but please, just don’t take off like that again. You promise me?

Claire: I promise, mom.

Michael: Oh, looks like a party. Claire, yeah.

Victor: Michael baldwin. Nice to see you, old boy.

Michael: Good to see you.

Victor: Have a seat. What’s up?

Michael: Potential lead on jordan, if we’re lucky.

Victoria: Oh, thank god.

Victor: Let me hear it.

Michael: Well, someone calling herself eve howard purchased a train ticket from chicago to houston. Could be jordan’s on the run.

Victor: Could also be that that is what she wants us to think.

Audra: What the hell?

Tucker: Again? Would you like me to have you thrown out or arrested this time?

Ashley: We have business to discuss.

Tucker: No, we don’T.

Ashley: I made that appointment we talked about.

Tucker: Wonderful. I’m glad you did. That’s all I wanted. Now, I wish you the best.

Ashley: You know, I’m doing this for us.

Tucker: Do it for yourself, ashley. There is no us. And there never will be again.

Ashley: I think you’d have a different answer if we didn’t have an audience.

Tucker: I hope you get to a better place. I really do. But that is a step you need to take on your own or with the support of your family because I am out.

Audra: You heard him, ashley. Out.

Ashley: Can we speak privately?

If you have wet amd,

Audra: Look, ashley, I don’t know what all of this is. Real, fake, crazy, sane. I– I don’t know. But whatever it is, it’s over. Okay, this thing that you’ve got chasing tucker around, it’s embarrassing. Do you really want to get rejected over and over again? Have a little self-respect.

Ashley: Tucker, could you put a muzzle on this yappy little bitch?

Audra: You know what?

Tucker: Hold on. Wait a minute. Stop it. Ashley, it’s enough. Go now.

Ashley: Okay. All you had to do was ask.

Audra: Oh, my god.

Tucker: Well, do you believe me now?

Ashley: Where am I? What’s going on? What am I doing here? What’s happening to me?

Chance: Hey, your cousin seemed nice.

Summer: Yeah, seemed nice.

Chance: What’s that supposed to mean?

Summer: It means that she seemed nice when she was my grandma’s assistant, but it actually turned out that she was plotting with her crazy great-aunt to destroy the newman family.

Chance: That woman just now?

Summer: Yes, that exact one. Okay, the short version? She and her aunt lured my dad, my aunt victoria, and my grandparents all up to this remote cabin and tried to kill them.

Chance: What? Why the hell isn’t she in prison?

Summer: Because my family heavily went to bat for her. Mental illness, whatever. They got her treatment instead of jail time, and now she’s just living on the ranch. A shiny new member of the newman clan.

Chance: Boy. Well, they must have faith that the treatment’s working, yeah?

Summer: Yeah, well, I saw her in action with my grandma before. She’s a pretty good actress.

Chance: You don’t think she’s been rehabilitated?

Summer: I– I don’t know what to believe, chance. I really don’T. Yes, she seems to sincerely want to turn her life around, but I don’t really know how you go from homicidal behavior to just a normal person in the span of, like, a couple of months. I– I get the concept of second chances. I’m just not ready to trust my cousin claire.

Michael: There’s only one way to figure out if jordan’s playing us or if she’s really getting out of dodge. I’m gonna have to follow up on that train ticket lead.

Victor: Thank you for coming by and let me know as soon as you find anything out.

Michael: You’ll be the first.

Victor: Thank you.

Michael: Victoria, adam.

Adam: Look, I, um, I have to get going as well, but thank you for letting me use the jet.

Victor: Anytime, my boy. If you need anything, call me.

Adam: Of course. Thank you.

Victor: And you tell him that nikki and I love him. Give him a big hug from us, all right?

Victoria: And also from me, adam.

Adam: Sure.

Victor: Adam?

Adam: Yeah?

Victor: Just remember, you and chelsea are exactly the parents the boy needs right now.

Claire: What’s going on with adam’s son?

[ Victor sighs ]

Victor: As if they didn’t have enough problems. He has obsessive-compulsive disorder and is being treated at a special clinic on the east coast.

Claire: God, that poor kid. I spent time with some kids his age at the hospital. They all tried to be brave, but you could tell that they were– they were afraid of the treatments and they were scared that they wouldn’t get better. My heart really goes out to him.

Victoria: Connor will be very lucky if he finds people as empathetic as you are to help him through this.

Diane: Thank you.

Jack: You are welcome.

Diane: Mm.

Jack: Come here.

Ashley: Oh, what is happening to me?

THIS STILL NEEDS SOME EDITING!

Sonny: Good to see you up and walking.

Dante: [ Weakly ] Yeah, you know, I might as well… be moving backward.

What matters is you’re doing it.

Yeah, unsteady though I may be.

You know, I wasn’t there when you took your first steps, but I’m getting a taste of that right now. This time, if — if you fall… I’ll be there to catch you.

Elizabeth: Jake, will you hurry up? I’d really like to take a shower after my shift! And the plumber hasn’t fixed mine yet, so hurry up!

[ Knock on door ]

Aiden, can you get that? I’m not dressed.

Yeah.

Hi. It’s, uh, aiden, right?

Yeah. You’re jason.

Yeah, it’s, uh — it’s been a while.

Sorry. Do you want to come in?

Thanks. Elizabeth.

Elizabeth: Hi.

I hope it’s okay that I stopped by.

Yeah. Of course.

I saw you at my arraignment, and I just wanted to say thank you for being there.

Yeah, well, I-I just wanted to see for myself what was going on. Congratulations on having the charges dropped.

Thanks. Yeah, I’m sorry, I should have — I should have dropped by sooner.

No, no, I-I mean, it’s — it’s fine. Um, to be quite honest, I don’t know what sort of reception you would have received had you shown up any earlier. So maybe now the timing is just right.

Nina made me associate publisher, and I have every right to weigh in on where my pieces run.

Well, you don’t have any right to decide the layout of the paper, because that’s my job.

Oh, why don’t we call nina?

What —

see what she says?

You 5 years old? This is not kindergarten. You’re going to call the principal? No, we’re not doing that, adrian.

[ Knock on door ]

Diane: Knock, knock. Bad time?

So, how does it look?

Seeing it in print makes it seem real.

[ Laughs ] Of course it’s real. And we — we are all so excited to have you as the new face of Deception.

Thank you. I’m glad you circled back and that it’s working out this time.

Of course. Of course it’s working out. You are the perfect pairing with Deception, like peanut butter and chocolate or wine and cheese or a facial and a massage —

you know what? Lucy is right. This is going to be a great partnership. I say that not only on behalf of Deception, but also as your music manager. This is a really smart step for your career.

Maxie: Yeah, your popularity as an artist will bring eyes to Deception, and Deception’s large ad reach will boost your profile and expose your music to a whole new audience. It’s a win-win. We just need your signature.

Gladly.

[ Laughter ] Hi. I am so sorry I’m late. Traffic was just crazy. Have you signed that yet, honey?

Not yet.

Okay, perfect. Because it is so much harder to tear these things up and start from scratch.

Excuse the mess. Um, I just got off a double shift. I’m a head nurse now.

I heard, and epiphany died. It’s just so much to process, you know? First bobbie and then britt and epiphany. So much can happen in two years. But I’m happy you made head nurse. You deserve it. I know epiphany would be proud of you.

Thanks. Big shoes to fill, but so far, I’m loving it.

You look good. Happy.

Thank you. You look different.

It’s because I am.

Diane, I’m so glad we could meet. I was just showing adrian out.

In point of fact, we had not yet finished.

Go ahead. Call nina. In fact, she’s probably really busy. Why don’t you e-mail her and make sure you cc me?

Hold space for the review on the front page!

Perfect timing.

[ Laughs ] It looks like your day’s going well.

Nina has foisted this gossip columnist on me, made him associate publisher, and now I think he — he runs the place.

Oh, I’m sure that’s fun for you.

No. Nina is determined to turn the invader into some fluffy, gossipy rag magazine and making my life a living hell.

So you could obviously use some good news.

Do you have some to share?

I’ve done some digging, and with the information that I have found out, we are half a step closer to getting you back to practicing law.

So, I understand that this is not the first time you’ve approached alison about being the face of Deception. The woman who had the position until just recently, why did you two separate?

Um, that’s sasha gilmore. Sasha gilmore was wonderful and amazing, and we love her. And we’re so grateful to her for all she contributed. It’s just that, you know pop culture. It’s ever evolving and changing, and her look was just a little too wholesome. And the magazines right now want hipper, edgier, you know, the gen z that has that style. Which Blaze as a musician obviously has in spades.

Yeah. That’s, um — that’s unacceptable.

Which part?

Well, I’m just not going to have the word “edgy” associated with Blaze, because it just has less than savory connotations. Now, creative, gifted, those are acceptable.

[ Chuckles ] Okay. Blaze, uh, what do you think?

Well, my mom makes a good point. I define myself as a creative. Whether people find my look, my presentation edgy, so be it. But that’s not something I’m striving for.

Uh, well, you know, we just want you to be your own lovely, wonderful self.

Thank you.

Um, okay. I have a little problem here with clause number three. It says something about Blaze being a “spokesmodel” for Deception products. What exactly does that mean?

Anything you need, you, you know, just say it.

Look at me. [ Chuckles weakly ] I want my strength back. I feel like I just ran a marathon or something.

That’s going to take time. You’ve been through a lot. But you’re getting your color back to your face, right? So, when you were unconscious —

hey, I’m going to be okay. Alright? You’re not getting rid of me that easy.

That’s good to know.

Uh, you know, I was shocked when I, uh — when I heard that jason was arrested for shooting me. I’m glad — glad I got that all sorted out with anna.

You positive that that’s what happened?

Yeah. Yeah, I went after the two suspects. Caught up with them at the — at the pier. Told them to stop. One of them — one of them did. The other didn’T. The guy that did, I told him to turn around with his hands in the air. And when he did, it was jason. Then the other guy, he came back, and he opened fire.

I saw on the news you’d been shot.

Uh, yeah, I’m okay.

Thank you.

Okay, mom. The bathroom’s all yours. And, um, if you still want to get me that electric razor for my birthday —

hi, jake.

Why are you here?

Diane: Something about the disciplinary hearing that resulted in your disbarment has never sat right with me, so I did some digging. One of the original attorneys on the panel had to recuse himself.

On what grounds? I don’t know. You tell me. The attorney in question, fergus byrne.

Byrne. Byrne!

As in the older brother of dr. Neil byrne, with whom you had a relationship and then lied to the board to protect.

And also the reason I was disbarred.

Mm-hmm.

I had no idea there was a third brother. And yet he was the lawyer that recused himself on my case?

Mm-hmm. The byrnes were quite the overachieving irish american family — a doctor, a lawyer, an executive turned blackmailer.

This is really intriguing. Although how does it help me?

When fergus byrne recused himself, he was replaced with his very own law partner. Now, that alone gives the whole proceeding an air of illegitimacy, don’t you think?

I wanted to talk to you about a possible candidate for the police academy.

Oh, yeah. Well, we’re always looking for new recruits, especially one that comes recommended by the police commissioner.

Oh, yeah. Um, his name is, uh, dex heller. And I wanted to talk to you because you’re an instructor over at the academy, and I just wanted you to assess his potential.

Sure, I’d be happy to meet with him. How’d he do on the written exam?

He didn’t sit that yet. I-I wanted us to get the ball rolling first.

Okay. Uh, why is that?

He’s ex-military. He served in afghanistan. And so, therefore, I’m sure he’ll pass the physical and the jst and, you know, the alcohol and drug screening. I-I just wanted him to have extra time to study for the written exam.

Okay, that’s definitely not the usual process, commissioner, but I-I trust your judgment.

Thank you. Yeah. I have a good feeling about him, about dex. His experience with his former employer I think is going to be very useful for us.

Really? Uh, okay. What was he doing?

Working for sonny corinthos.

You know, the guy who shot me, I’d never seen him before. Not that it matters. Anna said they can’t find his body anywhere. No forensic evidence, nothing.

I guess jason knows what happened to him ’cause they were working together.

They were together on the roof, yeah. Lining up a shot at me.

Yeah, I don’t know what he was doing with that guy anyway. But I remember he was — he was trying to get me help. He was trying to stop the bleeding.

I guess we know where our tax dollars are going.

Tax dollars? What are you talking about?

I saw jason last night. He’s working as an informant. For the fbi.

You’ve been on the news a lot. Everyone’s talking about you, but I haven’t heard anyone say where you’ve been all this time.

All I can say is, uh, I got into some trouble, had to take a job I didn’t want in a place far away from here.

And they didn’t have phones in this faraway place or computers. Or — or did you just not feel like telling us you were alive?

Jake…

it’s — it’s okay. I’d be asking the same question. I know this doesn’t make much sense to you, but if I could have gotten in touch, I would have. And I know it’s a lot to ask, but please… believe me.

Would you believe you?

Blaze would represent Deception at all our in-store product launches and of course on the home & heart shopping channel. She would be showing off our merchandise. And look at that face. This face would sell millions of units of beauty and wellness products. Yeah, it’ll get a ton of eyes on Blaze. We can’t buy that kind of publicity for her music career.

Absolutely not.

I’m sorry?

No, she — Blaze will do photo shoots, yes, but she’s not going to be personally hawking products on some home shopping show or live events. No.

Okay. I’m sure we can come up with a compromise that works for everyone.

Natalia: No. No compromise. You will not be signing the contract unless you agree that the face of Deception is completely separate than this traveling salesperson of Deception.

In the old days, organized crime would quietly infiltrate the force or hand out bribes to put some cops in their back pocket. So now you’re telling me the department is actively recruiting mobsters?

Well, dex had a somewhat contentious parting with his former employer. I believe that he has left that life firmly behind. And he will be 100% loyal to us here.

You know hiring this guy is going to cause conflict with corinthos.

Yes, that — I think it’s natural that there’s conflict between law enforcement and racketeers.

I always thought you had a soft spot for corinthos and tried to go easy on him.

Well, I apologize if I gave that impression. We go back, sonny and — and detective falconeri is his son. And I know that raises a few eyebrows around here, but he has never cut his father any slack, and nor will anyone else in this department, including me. Sonny corinthos will be held to the same standard that we hold everyone else.

Can I ask what prompted this change of heart?

Say it was a series of events that occurred recently that shed light on the fact that we have to check organized crime in this city, specifically limit sonny’s influence. To that end, dex will be invaluable to us. He will be able to give us insight into how sonny’s operation is run. I think that if we pass up this opportunity, we will never get one like this again.

Jason’s been working for the feds this whole time?

Supposedly.

Why? Did he explain it?

Not really. He just said he was working as an informant for the fbi, and he wanted me to swallow it. But how can I swallow something? That’s the worst thing he could have done.

I guess I know how you feel about it.

I mean, working for the feds? He’s dead to me.

Come on. Why don’t you get the full story first before you write him off?

I don’t want to talk about it. I don’t want to talk about it. Go ahead, say it, dante. Whatever it is you’ve got to say, say it.

Jason was your right-hand man, for years. You relied on him.

When I came back from nixon falls, I had amnesia. And I come back, my wife’s marrying my — my best friend. I have feelings for another woman. Things were never the same after that. Maybe jason’s not the jason that I know. I’m sorry. I don’t — I don’t want to waste, you know, our valuable time talking about this right now. I want you to get better. I want you to even make fun of me if you want.

[ Chuckles weakly ]

I really don’t care. Hell, I’ll even let you. How’s that?

I’m gonna hold you to that.

[ Chuckles ] You better.

This is all very intriguing. But I-I don’t want to get my hopes up.

I believe the implication of bias gives us further grounds to appeal your disbarment.

Wish I had paid more attention to neil’s family tree. I mean, I knew there was a lawyer out there somewhere, vaguely. But if neil’s brother fergus was at his memorial, I never met him.

Well, maybe there’s a very good reason why fergus didn’t introduce himself to you. If he was even partially responsible for your disbarment, he’d want to stay as far away from you as humanly possible before you started putting the pieces all together.

True.

But fergus is no longer on the disciplinary committee. I checked. So he won’t be a factor in your appeal this time.

All joking aside, I truly am impressed with the progress that you’ve made on this so quickly. [ Sighs ] I’m just not sure that I should proceed with this.

Why the hell not?

Because my job at the invader is annoying, and it’s frustrating, but an argument in its favor is I get to sleep at night. I won’t be up at 3:00 in the morning making revisions on a closing argument or having nightmares that I make a procedural error and I get my client wrongly convicted.

Yeah. Well, there’s a lot to be said for a restful night’s sleep. But the alexis I know never took the easy way out for anything. You love a challenge, and you love being a lawyer. So, my friend, what is this really about?

Molly’s worried. She said the last time that I practiced law, I also happened to be a raging alcoholic, and I turned my life into a car wreck. And she’s worried that if the appeal is dismissed, I’ll dive right back into the bottle.

I see. Well, what did you say to that?

She’s got enough on her plate right now, so I don’t want to worry her, but I told her that I go to meetings regularly, and I’m working the program. And that is all true. But what if my trying to get my law license back derails my sobriety and everything else that I’ve worked so hard to salvage from the ruins of my old life?

Okay. I have crossed out all the sections about the live participation in pitching products, and the rest of it looks good to me.

Okay. Well, what if we want the live participation sections to remain in force?

Well, then you will have to find another face of Deception.

Hey. Look, I know that your mom wants the best for you and for your career.

Of course.

But you do realize being the face of Deception is a very prestigious role. I mean, it’s big, big, big. Are you really willing just to pass that up?

No, I don’t want to. Uh — but my mom makes a valid point. I’m a singer, a performer, not a spokesmodel.

Ah. I see.

But I don’t think that means we have to forget about the whole thing. Would you be open to hiring a second face? Someone to do the home & heart appearances and meet and greets? I’d do print advertising and related media.

We really need to discuss —

that is so perfect. You know, two faces, two are better than one. And I have a great idea how we’ll handle home & heart without you.

I-I told you everything I can.

Which is basically nothing! Am I supposed to give you extra points because you aren’t lying?

I-I know that I have a lot of things to make up for. I’m just hoping that if we can spend some time together, you can see that you can trust me.

Why would i want to spend time with you when I don’t even know how long you’re planning to stay this time? Or what even brought you back to port charles, because it obviously wasn’t me or anyone else in your family. But hey, at least you dropped by and got to play dad for a minute, right?

I didn’t want to leave, jake. I didn’t have a choice.

And you came back just as soon as you could, right?

No. No. I-I can’t explain… why, but I can see how much it hurts you.

You don’t know anything about me, so stop pretending you do.

I didn’t mean to upset you. I should go.

Then go!

Elizabeth: I’ll walk you out. You know, um, part of me wants to apologize for that, but… I’d be lying if I said I didn’t get where he’s coming from. I have a lot of those same questions for you myself.

I know.

But… despite all of that… …it really is good to see you. Your death never felt real to me. I’m glad it wasn’T.

Yeah, me, too. Jake has every right to be angry. I’m glad he’s not afraid to say so.

Don’t kid yourself. He may act tough, but he is still just a teenager who’s afraid of an awful lot. Mostly, he’s afraid of losing his father.

I know this isn’t easy. First you had to mourn your dad and accept that he’s gone. And now all of a sudden, he’s back with no real explanation of where he went for so long. But this isn’t good for you to be so angry with him.

Well, I don’t think it’s good for you to be so okay with this and act, like, all nice to him, like — like he didn’t do anything wrong and everything’s fine.

That’s not what I’m doing. Jake, I understand that you’re hurting, but it doesn’t make it okay for you to lash out at everyone around you. So can you tone down the snark just a little?

Did you know?

Know what?

That my dad was alive. He didn’t call you or get in touch with you or send you something? Did you know and — and keep it a secret from me?

No. No, god, no, jake. I didn’t know he was alive, I promise.

Okay. It’s just hard, you know? It’s like, I-I feel guilty because — never mind. It doesn’t matter.

No, no, no, no, please j– tell me. All of your feelings matter. And you get to feel however you want to about this. And you can talk to me. No judgment here, I promise you that.

Well, it’s — I-I feel guilty because I was so sad when dad died. I used to lay in bed at night wishing I could talk to him just one more time. But now I think that it was easier to have a dead father that people would tell you stories about, rather than one who’s alive but only shows up to commit crimes and get arrested and has nothing to say to his own family.

[ Knock on door ]

Come in.

Hi, anna. How are you?

What can I do for you, sonny? I’m very busy. Um, I don’t have a lot of time.

Oh, okay, I’ll get to it. Um, I just got back from seeing dante.

How’s he doing?

He’s doing — he’s doing alright. He got up, and he was walking. You know, full recovery’s going to take a while, but, uh — I hate seeing him that way.

Of course. But then, the alternative is much worse.

Dante also said that it — he’s positive it wasn’t jason who shot him.

I’m aware of that. Like I said, I have a lot of work to do, so if that’s what you came here to tell me —

yeah, well, if jason, uh, isn’t guilty of shooting dante, he was still on the roof with that sniper who shot at me.

Fortunately, you weren’t hit.

Yeah, I was lucky. But, you know, um, you know jason was there, so do you have any idea what you’re going to charge him with?

Sorry. I didn’t mean to startle you.

No, I just didn’t, uh — didn’t expect to see you here. Um… I’m happy you are here, though. I wanted to, uh — I wanted to thank you.

For what?

Well, for the bandage. For calling 911. I think I, uh, probably would have bled out by the time the ambulance got there.

Well, if it hadn’t been for me, you wouldn’t be down on the pier in the first place.

Huh. That’s a good point. I take it back.

[ Chuckles ]

You know one thing I can’t figure out? Why’d you turn around? You didn’t want to be identified. Why didn’t you keep running?

Because I knew you wouldn’t stop chasing us. And I thought it would be… safer if I let you arrest me, but it turns out that I was wrong.

Let me ask you this, as a — well, as a cop and a victim. Can you tell me what happened to the guy who shot me?

No. The name I had for him was fake. But what’s real is he’s dead.

What happened to his body?

Uh, I have no idea. I have some theories, but it doesn’t really matter.

Well, maybe you can tell me this, then. Was he also an fbi informant?

My friend, none of us knows the future. If your appeal is denied, could the disappointment that you feel cause you to start drinking again? I don’t know. I — I guess anything’s possible. But I know you, and I know how strong you are. You have accomplished everything you have set your mind to. So there’s no reason to think that this would cause you to start drinking again. Hell, you say this place is a nightmare, but you’re not tossing ’em back, are you?

No.

No. So there you go.

Thank you.

Now let’s get to my other big news. My petition to petition the appeals court was granted. So now the justices just need to agree that there are grounds for an appeal. Even though, technically speaking, that window was closed a long time ago.

Diane, we both know that motions to vacate disbarment are rarely granted.

God! I do not have the time right now to manage your fear of success. So would you please stop being the voice of doom? Honey, I’m ready to run with this, but only if you are committed to seeing it through and of course, paying me back for all the hours I will be logging by joining my practice once we see this through.

Nina and I had a great idea I’d love to run by you.

I’m in the middle of something. Can it wait?

It’ll just take a minute. Everyone has been loving my column so much that nina and I thought we could split it off into daily pieces. We’ll call it something like “spotlight of society,” highlighting what all the movers and shakers of port charles are up to, who are the hot new couples, who’s getting divorced, who lost all their money. It could be a big hit. What do you think?

I think that if you don’t leave my office right now, you’ll be putting out the evening’s edition all by yourself.

[ Chuckles ] Oh. I know that’s meant to be a threat. But I’ll have you —

get out, adrian!

[ Sighs ] Do it.

Huh?

Please. Get me the hell out of here.

[ Laughs ]

Here you go. Consider this contract official.

Thank you. I will walk you out.

[ Laughs ] And thank you.

You know, I am so glad that we could work things out. We are going to do amazing, great things together.

Me, too. I’m the new face of Deception.

And a gorgeous face it is!

Congratulations.I’m so happy for you, baby. I have so many shoot ideas I cannot wait to talk to you about.

[ Women laugh, speak indistinctly ]

See? Everybody is so, so excited to get started working with you.

Oh, uh, just one more thing. And this doesn’t have to be in writing or anything, but I really would like your word that moving forward, alison will be a woman of mystery.

[ Chuckles ] What does that mean?

Just that her private life will remain off-limits. So she won’t be doing any interviews. You won’t publish puff pieces about her. Alison, or Blaze as you’ll be calling her, will just be known to the public by her beauty and her music.

Okay, um… is that what you want?

Absolutely.

Your father is a man of few words, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t care. He wouldn’t have shown up here if he didn’t want to see you.

Maybe he just felt like he had to.

No. No. I don’t know where he’s been for the past few years or why. But I saw the way he looked at you just now. He wouldn’t have stayed away on his own.

Why is he like this?

He’s complicated. But he never makes things up. And he doesn’t lie. He may not say a whole lot, but every word that comes out of his mouth is the truth.

You always defend him.

I’m explaining him. It’s different.

Doesn’t matter anyway. He knows I’m mad at him. I doubt he’ll ever show up here again.

I wouldn’t count on that. He’s not going to make some big declaration about how he’s your dad and he loves you. Instead, he’s going to keep showing up until you realize that’s the only explanation.

Guess you’ve been talking to sonny.

Yeah, he left a — he left a little while ago. You know, you working for the feds, that’s really messing him up.

I’m an informant, not an agent.

Sonny thinks you’re a traitor, but… there’s something else going on here. I mean, how many deals did you get offered over the years, and you didn’t take them? How many times could you have flipped on sonny, and you didn’t do it?

I didn’t inform on sonny.

Then who?

[ Sighs ] That I can’t — I can’t say.

Well, the fbi, they must have some serious leverage, something big, to get you to cooperate.

It was something big enough that I had no choice to… take their deal and do exactly what they wanted.

You swear to me it has nothing to do with my father?

Sonny has nothing to do with this. He’s safe. And I’m going to do my best to make sure he stays that way.

Son of a bitch. You have the gall to come in here and try to get me to file charges against jason?

I just wanted a heads up, just in case I have to testify.

There are no charges to file. It’s clear that jason stopped that sniper from shooting you. Anyway, this is an fbi case now, so if you’ll just — I mean, if you want me to arrest someone, I can always circle back to the attack on cyrus on christmas eve.

Anna, where is this hostility coming from —

no, I mean, it’s an open case. It’s in my jurisdiction, and I have a lot of dna evidence collected from the victim indicating you as the attacker. Cyrus may have declined to press charges against you, but I — honestly, I don’t need him in order to move forward.

Wh– I thought we were, like, getting closer, and that doesn’t seem to be the case now. What’s — what’s happening?

No, it’s — it’s not the case, sonny. It’s not. I think my attitude towards you was really colored by your friendship with robin and what you did for her and for stone. But if you thought for one second that I was okay with you beating an old man bloody and unconscious, no matter if he’s a vile person, you were sorely mistaken. I’m police commissioner. And your days of thinking that you can skate no matter what the offense, they’re over! So if you don’t mind — e-even if you do mind, get out of my office!

On the next “General Hospital” —

[ Upbeat music ]

Hope: So, uh… you heard?

Liam: About thomas leaving town? Yeah.

Hope: So what, did you come to celebrate? Say I told you so?

Finn: Gotta be a rough time for hope. Not only did your brother leave town, but he took douglas with him.

Steffy: It’s what douglas wanted, to be with his dad. It was his choice.

Finn: But even so, we know how much hope loves douglas. It must’ve been a real blow for her.

Steffy: Okay, babe, I know we may not see eye to eye on this, but hope is not a victim here. She’s another logan, who’s caused countless heartache in my family.

Luna: Oh, my god! What happened? What– what am I doing here?

Zende: That’s what I asked myself when you surprised me here last night.

Rj: Hey, told you she’d be in here hard at work, of course. Hi.

Luna: Hi.

Zende: Hey, luna. So, uh, have you heard the latest?

Luna: About?

Zende: Thomas.

Rj: He, uh, left on a plane to paris last night.

Luna: Oh, like a last minute business trip?

Rj: So, apparently, thomas proposed to hope. Again. And, um, she still couldn’t accept, and that was the final straw for thomas, so he just told her he was going away. And then he decided to take douglas with him.

Zende: And off they went.

Luna: Is hope okay with all of this?

Rj: Uh, no. No, she’s not okay with any of it. But, I mean, you can’t blame her. I mean, she just wasn’t ready to marry the guy, and… anyway, how this affects you is that it does change things around here. Um, especially where my sister’s line’s concerned.

Zende: Thomas has bowed out completely. He will no longer be working on hope for the future.

Luna: This is crazy. What does this mean for the line, then?

Rj: It means that we all have to step up, in thomas’s absence, for hope.

Hope: All right, go ahead. Do your little victory dance.

Liam: I didn’t come here to gloat.

Hope: Oh. Well, then, a lecture? I mean, it’s only fair that you have your shot, too. I mean, I have been read the riot act by steffy.

Finn: Do you really need to make this about the forresters versus the logans?

Steffy: You haven’t lived it the way my family and I have. I mean, the logans, they would relentlessly try to tear my family apart, and now hope is following in brooke’s footsteps.

Finn: You don’t think you’re exaggerating just a little bit?

Steffy: No, I do not. Not after everything hope has done to thomas. I mean, she’s been laser focused on him. She had him designing for her line. And she knew that he was crazy about her, that he was in love with her, but she didn’t care. She led him on. She played with his emotions. I mean, hope is not the innocent girl she once was. Themselves to yo hate this

febreze

Luna: God, I really hate this for hope.

Rj: Yeah, we all do.

Luna: I mean, there’s no way that they could just somehow work it out.

Rj: Well, hope wanted to. I mean, she still loves him. She just wasn’t ready to get married to him, but apparently it was all or nothing for thomas.

Zende: If hope couldn’t commit, thomas wasn’t gonna hang around hoping that she might change her mind one day.

Luna: Yeah, I mean, I guess I can see his point.

Zende: Yeah, me too. It’s hard when you care about someone, but they can’t give themselves to you in the way that you’d like them to.

Rj: Well, I’m sure hope had her reasons. I mean, I’m sure they were very good ones.

Zende: They just weren’t good enough for thomas.

Luna: Well, hey, I’m sorry for the way things ended, but I don’t know, maybe with a little time and distance?

Zende: Absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Luna: I’m being a hopeless romantic, aren’t I?

Rj: No, there’s nothing wrong with that. But I do think, though, for thomas and hope, they’re– they’re done.

Luna: Okay, well, what about douglas? I mean, is he gonna stay with thomas indefinitely or is he gonna come back and stay with hope?

Zende: I think he wants to be with his dad.

Rj: Anyway, it’s all the more reason that we need to get behind hope and support her right now.

Liam: You really think, uh, that’s why I’m here, that’s why I came? Just to rub it in?

Hope: Mm-hmm. Well, steffy’s had her turn, so it’s only fair. Go ahead. Let’s hear it.

Liam: We may not be married anymore, but I don’t particularly get off on watching you hurt, either.

Hope: Well, it’s a little late for that.

Liam: Yeah, well, that’s on thomas and his, uh, expectations. Unrealistic ones, as it turns out.

Hope: Yeah, I just, um, wasn’t ready to accept a proposal just yet.

Liam: And he should’ve understood that. You’ve literally done nothing to feel guilty about here.

Hope: I did hurt him, liam. And now he wants nothing to do with me, and he has taken douglas with him.

Liam: Yeah, that, um, that part had to hurt.

Hope: You know how much I love douglas. I’ve been his mother since he was little, and even though i am not his birth mother, he is my son in all of the ways that count. And it certainly wasn’t the goodbye that I wanted.

Liam: Yeah, because his father whisked him away, basically in the middle of the night.

Hope: I don’t think thomas would’ve done that if it weren’t for steffy. I mean, she is behind all of this.

Liam: Why– how– why do you think that?

Hope: Liam, she told me to my face. She claims she’s just looking out for her brother, but really, we know the truth. Just like you. She has, um, never really wanted thomas and me together. And now she has made certain that that will never happen ever again.

Liam: You– you think this is all steffy’s doing?

Hope: No, not all of it. I did break thomas’ heart. I did. But steffy has certainly made the situation worse.

Steffy: Thomas used to be obsessed with hope, but he turned his life around. I mean, he completely redefined himself, his life. Like, he’s a– he’s a good person. He’s a wonderful father, an exceptional designer. I mean, the only thing he really wanted was hope. He wanted hope to love him. And what does she do? She leaves him heartbroken.

Finn: It sounds like hope’s heartbroken, too.

Steffy: She brought this on herself. She ruined things with liam. She destroyed things with– with thomas. You shouldn’t feel sorry for her. No one should. You know, whatever hope wants or whatever I think it’ll bring us c people ready to step up. I’ve never seen two people

Zende: Thomas totally got hope’s vision. I’ve never seen two people more in sync, professionally speaking. The good news is, hope has a supportive team in place. People ready to step up.

Rj: Yeah, like zende and me. And you know, I know we’ve had our issues, but, uh, I think this is gonna be good for us. I think it’ll bring us closer together.

Zende: That’s a nice thought, cuz.

Luna: And look, I’ll pitch in, too. You know, whatever hope wants or whatever she needs.

Rj: Yeah, that’d be great. I’m sure she’d love that and zende would appreciate it, too.

Zende: Come again.

Rj: Well, I mean, you haven’t really gotten a chance to work with luna and see how professional and talented she is.

Liam: I was, uh, hoping it wouldn’t get to this point between you and steffy again.

Hope: Well, it wouldn’t have if steffy didn’t go on the offensive for her brother.

Liam: Yeah, why– why is that surprising? Steffy’s always been hyper protective of thomas.

Hope: I’m so tired of hearing that get thrown around as if it’s some sort of excuse, like it justifies her behavior. And, liam, you should’ve heard the things that she was saying to me. It was like it didn’t even cross her mind that she was destroying a family. It didn’t matter to her. As long as I was out of thomas’ life, if douglas is collateral damage, well then so be it.

Liam: Oh, well, come on. I mean, I– I– I know that you’re upset.

Hope: Oh no, I– I am upset, liam. I am. The breakup with thomas was hard enough, but for steffy to play chess with my family? To involve douglas? That… that is a step too far. Liam, he was heartbroken. He was saying things like, “why aren’t daddy and I enough?” Like, do you not love us enough?

Liam: Oh.

Hope: Yeah.

Liam: I’m sorry.

Hope: I am, I’m sorry too. I just– I would’ve given anything to have spared douglas that.

Liam: Just give him time. He loves you.

Hope: I love him too. Oh, I just wish thomas had taken some time to have, you know, thought about everything a little more before he left. But, you know, steffy just had to stir things up and destroy what we had. Look, liam, I know that you don’t want to believe it and you don’t think it’s true, probably, but… steffy is responsible for a lot of this. Thomas and douglas, they would still be here if steffy hadn’t gotten involved.

Finn: Look, I know that you’ve been going through a lot lately, but don’t you think you’re being a little harsh?

Steffy: Why? Because hope’s some sweet, innocent chick? She hasn’t done anything bad in her life? No, things turned for her the moment she put my brother through hell.

Finn: Babe, just listen, okay? I know that you’re hurting for thomas, but let’s not–

Steffy: What are we talking about? She manipulated him. That’s extremely cruel. She played with his emotions. Like, I don’t know if she was doing it to get back at me or my family, like… I– I wouldn’t put it past her. But, you know, kids were involved, like douglas. Douglas had his hopes up and so did thomas. He thought they were gonna be a family, but she wasn’t gonna commit. No, she was just leading him on.

Finn: Look, I understand that your relationship with hope has been long and complicated and often unpleasant. I’m just saying that I don’t think you can put all of the blame on hope. If you’re one of the millions of people with diabetes Here in quite a short

Zende: I already know how amazing luna is. Everyone at forrester does. She’s made a name for herself here in quite a short period of time. So, it would be my pleasure working more closely with luna.

Hope: I realize that if I had just accepted thomas’ proposal, that things would be very different right now. Thomas knew where my head was at. We were on the same page. Until steffy got in her brother’s head and just told him I was using him. Told him that I was just another trashy logan and refused to see what was actually there between me and her brother. How much I loved him. Which, I– I know you don’t want to hear that.

Liam: Sure don’T.

Hope: It’s true, liam. I do love thomas. I mean, would we have gotten married? I don’t know. I don’t have a crystal ball, but we never really had a fair chance to find out. No, steffy just did everything in her power to undermine me, to her brother, to pollute his opinion of me, to make it forrester versus logan all over again, so it’s been real fun in this workplace recently. I’m sorry. This was, uh, quite a bit of an overshare.

Liam: It’s all right. You’re going through a lot. If you, uh, if need a little more help with beth going forward, I’ll be around. I’m not gonna lie, uh… and I’m not going to pretend I’m not relieved that thomas is out of your and our daughter’s life. And I– you know what? I’m gonna go out on a limb and I’m going to say that, uh, I think you’ll find this is a good thing in the end. I really do. I think, you know, and who knows, maybe, um, there’s someone else out there, another man comes into your life who’s, uh, well, worth saying yes to.

Finn: You getting all wound up over this, it’s just– it’s not good for you. Okay, babe? And putting all this on hope, I mean, maybe just– maybe try feeling for her a little bit.

Steffy: Feel for her? Finn, come on.

Finn: I mean, hope, she’s had her own challenges too. I mean, liam dumps her and she’s just trying to find her way and figure her life out.

Steffy: She wasn’t dumped by liam. She chased after thomas in rome. She kissed thomas.

Finn: Okay, yes, but all I’m saying is just maybe try to have a little compassion, okay? So this doesn’t escalate and spiral out of control.

Steffy: Well, hope did say because I was interfering in their relationship that, uh, I’m gonna regret it.

Finn: Did hope threaten you?

Steffy: Yeah, I’m not– I’m not worried about that. But I don’t like you defending her.

Finn: I’m not defending her. Okay, you are my wife, okay? You come first, you always will. I’m just saying she is obviously lost, okay? And part of me feels for her now in that way.

Steffy: Okay, I mean, like, that I get. Like, you’re always trying to find the best in someone and that’s– that’s really sweet and I love that about you. So, let’s not let hope or thomas or sheila’s death get in between us, okay?

Finn: No.

Steffy: What’s important is our love for each other and our family. That’s what matters, okay? Always.

Recap written by Suzanne

Jack tells Traci that Tucker had the nerve to express concern for Ashley and that she was making overtures towards him and acting erratically. Jack meets Diane at the club for a drink; they toast. They discuss Ashley and Tucker. Then Diane suggests that she quit as CEO so that Kyle can get his job back and stop resenting her. Jack doesn’t think that’s a good idea; he thinks that she and Kyle need to work through things instead.

Traci worries about Ashley and lets her know what Jack said. Ashley tells her not to worry and that she has a plan to deal with Tucker. They argue, and then Ashley storms out.

Tucker apologizes to Audra and tells her that he loves her, so they make up. They both think Ashley is faking being crazy. Later, Ashley shows up at Tucker’s room. Both Tucker and Audra are annoyed and tell her to leave. Ashley asks to speak with him privately, but he tells her he’s not interested. Audra pushes her out the door. Outside, Ashley (the real one) realizes she doesn’t know how she got there or what’s wrong with her. She sees Jack and Diane when she goes downstairs but avoids them.

Victor and his family are angry that Jordan escaped again. Adam tells Victor that Connor has OCD and that he and Chelsea are taking him to a special treatment place. They have a heart-to-heart talk about it. Victor offers his jet. Adam worries that he somehow caused Connor to be this way because he wasn’t a great parent. Victor tells him that he’s proud of him. Victoria can’t find Claire. Adam wonders if she’s teamed up with Jordan again, so Victoria tells him off. Adam immediately apologizes, which shocks Victoria. He tells her about Connor. She’s sympathetic.

Claire is at the coffee shop, getting coffee. Michael comes in and says hi. She’s very happy to be out and about by herself, despite Jordan. Michael praises her strength and compares her to Victoria. Lauren is also there, so Michael introduces them. They chat. Claire intends to stay in town and get a job working with children. Lauren says hi to Summer, who’s in line. Claire invites her to join her, but Summer says she’s in a hurry. Claire knows that Summer has heard all about her past now. Summer is having a hard time dealing with the fact that Claire did terrible things to her family and is now forgiven and not in jail. She also doesn’t think that Claire should be around children. Claire explains the circumstances about how and why she targeted the family. Chance comes in, so Summer introduces them. Later, Summer explains to him what Claire did and how everyone in her family just forgave her. She admits that she doesn’t trust her.

Jordan skulks around town and dresses up as a man to escape detection. She watches Claire as she leaves the coffee shop.

When Claire returns home, Victoria and Victor tell her how worried they were and make her promise not to go out alone again. She promises but isn’t afraid of Jordan. Michael arrives and tells them that someone pretending to be “Eve Howard” bought a train ticket. Victor thinks it’s probably a fake. After Adam leaves, Claire asks about his son, so Victor tells her about Connor’s OCD. She’s very sympathetic, having seen some kids like that at the hospital.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

Oh, so

how do I look gorgeous? Oh, you didn’t even look at me. So how do you know I saw you 30 seconds ago? You were perfect then. Besides, we’re not going to a red carpet event. Yeah, yeah, I know, but the paparazzi were at the hospital when I got released. They could be there today, too. Oh, you sure I look alright?

You look lovely, as always. Somehow, I don’t think this has anything to do with your appearance. No, you’re right. It’s not. Today, I find out, of course. If I’m cancer free, dare I hope for another miracle?

There you are. Off to work already? Yes, I have an early shift. What you got there? Oh, Justin just, uh, dropped this off. It’s, uh, All the evidence against me. Prosecution has to share up the defense. There’s a flash drive in here with loads of pictures on it too, apparently. I wish I didn’t have to go in. I’d help you.

Oh, it’s alright. I know you’ll be with me in spirit. Definitely. I’m so glad we’re in this together, Sarah. It means so much to me. You believing in me. No, it’s not just me. Harris doesn’t think you shot him either. Yeah, that’s a start. Now all we have to do is find actual proof that I am innocent. Can you please just stop talking about Holly?

My God, you’re acting like she’s some kind of villain. Tate, that girl nearly destroyed your entire future. And as you very well know, there is a restraining order against you, so she shouldn’t even be calling you in the first place. Which is why she had to pose as my mother to get me to come to the phone.

Really? You’re defending that? She wanted to see how I was doing, Mom. She’s my friend and she cares about me. So will you chill the hell out? Excuse me. First of all, do not speak to me that way. And secondly, no, I’m not going to chill the hell out until you tell me why you won’t stop speaking to that spoiled little brat.

Everybody go. I just went out to make a call. Didn’t you get the memo? Party’s over. Oh, that’s okay. I was on my way out anyway. I’m, uh, going to see Tate. Leave her alone. Leave her alone, what I’m just stating a fact. Which you at least stated to get my stepdaughter upset. Can we not do this, please? I’m out of here.

Brady, wait. Don’t go yet. Why?

Mom, I’m sorry. I’m really sorry. Honey, sorry for what? What? The drugs. The drugs that I OD’d on. They were mine. I’m so sorry, I should have told everyone from the beginning. Do you think? But why now, Holly? What, did you have some sort of epiphany? Okay, don’t come down on her. Don’t expect me not to come down on her, because I’m about to, okay?

Because it’s been my son, my son who took the rap for this the whole time, my son who went to jail, my son who’s been going through hell because you decided to lie about this for weeks! Honey, is this true? The jokes are yours. You seriously don’t believe this story, do you? AJ, please! You were right, I should have told everyone sooner.

You knew about this? Eric, he could just He knew that I was upset, that something was really bothering me, so I had to tell him. I just, I couldn’t keep it in any longer. Honey, if this is true, why, why did you go to Eric and not me?

Extend through the hourglass. So are the days of our lives. I

told Eric because I was scared. I knew he wouldn’t judge me, and I was afraid that if I told you the truth, that you would blame yourself. Well, since you’re finally being honest, Holly, I trust you’ll tell us the whole story. What whole story? Well, you say that the drugs weren’t tight, so Was he your dealer?

What is, what is your problem, man? Why do you hate my son so much? Take it down a notch. Stannis. Tate had nothing to do with how I got those drugs. He told me not to take them. He warned me not to take them. Oh, please. The delinquent who was kicked out of boarding school is suddenly a saint? Elvis, we can take this right outside if you want, man.

Oh, gladly. Will, you just listen. Please. Alright, if everyone could just calm down and let her speak. Mom. Remember the other night when you and EJ came into my room while I was recovering and you thought I was asleep? Well, I overheard what you said. About how you were afraid you had been a terrible mother.

How you thought you’d been selfish and you hadn’t paid enough attention to me. And, I knew you blamed yourself when you were pregnant. With the whole accident, with my baby brother. I thought it was your fault he died. And so So I thought if you found out you had a druggie for a daughter too, on top of it all, I didn’t think you’d be able to take it.

I thought it’d be too much for you. Honey. My precious girl. Mom. I’m so sorry. Do you actually call this evil or something? Mom, she’s not a bad person, I swear. Oh yeah? Tell that to your ankle monitor. This is my fault, not hers. You’re sneaking out of here. I’m going to see her. Going to see her? Tate, you broke into the DiMera mansion, the house of the district attorney who hates your father and is out to get you.

Stop yelling. Everyone in this place can hear you. Well, you know, I don’t give a damn, because you went in jail for something that you didn’t commit, and now you’re in a halfway house for some earthly reason, all because of this girl that you are defending, who knows perfectly well how she OD’d, but claims that she can’t remember, and so now everybody hates you.

You should finally believe me. Tate, we have always believed you. From the beginning, we told you that, over and over and over, and we have been praying that that selfish That selfish little girl would just wake up and, and clean up this whole mess, and instead what does she do? She regains consciousness and she throws you under the bus.

So, so this girl that you say is a good person, I’m not buying it. Holly Jonas is bad news. She is a selfish little, little liar whom I absolutely despise with every fiber of my being. Honey,

you know you could have come to me. I’m sorry. I thought I was protecting you. So you confided in Eric. Why? Because he was a priest? Because Holly and I are close. Hold on. Hold on. It doesn’t matter who confided in who. It doesn’t matter. What matters is the here and now. That’s my son. Who’s been in a halfway house going through hell because you’ve been lying for weeks, Holly!

Brady, I’m sorry. It was a horrible mistake. One that I will regret for the rest of my life. I just wish I told the truth from the beginning. So how do we know you’re telling the truth right now? Because, because I have proof. Proof? It’s in my room. Show me.

I have a pretty heavy rotation today, so I’m going to be home a little late. It’s just so much of this. I’ll probably be stuck in the same spot when you get home from work tonight. Well, you know. Be sure to check on the wee bear every once in a while. Oh, I will definitely be peeking in on the wee bear in every 10 minutes or so, so not to worry there.

And I’ll call during my breaks to check in on my sweethearts, all right? Now, get to sleuthing. I have a very good feeling about this. I’m not going to give up until I find something. I know you will.

Oh, I could never make it as a detective. Just searching for clues all day. Needles in a haystack.

Are you done with your nap already? Oh dear. Come here, darling. It’s okay. Shh, shh, shh, shh. Yes, it’s okay. Daddy’s here, don’t you worry. And he’s not gonna let anyone send him up the river for something he didn’t do. Don’t you worry. No. I’ll make you proud of me soon enough, Victoria. That I promise. Are

you ashamed of me, Mom? Honey, how can I be ashamed of you when I know you only withheld the truth to protect me? I just, I wish you had come to me about this. I’m really sorry. I just, I didn’t want you to fall apart. I love you for that. I do, but I’m fine. I’m a lot stronger than you think. So, um, show me this proof.

Isn’t that the jewelry box you got last year at the garage sale? That’s what I told you on the way.

I don’t know what to say.

Look, we need to go downstairs and show everyone this. Right now.

Here they are. These are mine. I promise you, Tate was shocked when he saw these at the New Year’s Eve party. I even offered him some, but he wouldn’t take them. He was upset that I was going to. He tried to stop me from taking them. Holly. And yet you let my son take the blame for your overdose this whole time.

Well, you know, maybe she didn’t remember right away. Maybe she only remembered recently. Is that it, Holly? Did the coma affect your memory?

So how was the scan? Being in that tube was a very weird experience, let me tell you. Oh, thank God I’m not claustrophobic. Oh, and having to lie perfectly still for another 30 minutes. Well, that was hard for you, I’m sure. Oh, oh. Paulina? Babe, I’m sorry I kept you waiting. Oh, no, no. No problem. Oh, so, what did the oncologist, uh, have to say?

Well, uh, he was called away, but he asked me to go through your test results. Okay, so Tell us the good news.

Please, will you quit yelling at me? Oh my god, do you not understand how upsetting this is, Tate? I mean, this has been hell on all of us. Me. Me, most of all. So I don’t need you getting mad at me on top of everything else.

You’re right. You’re right. I’m sorry. I, you’re right. I should, I shouldn’t be lashing out on you. Don’t worry.

Okay, look, um. I want to tell you something. And I’m really, really hoping that you’re going to take it to heart. Is this going to be another lecture on relationships? No, no, it’s not, it’s not a lecture per se. It’s just a few words of, of wisdom. So Relationships are complicated. Yeah? And um, I know I’ve had my fair share.

share of them, and I have learned a lot. I’m sure you have, Mom. But this isn’t like when you were younger. Everything’s different now. Okay, fine, yes. Maybe we didn’t use apps back in the day, or what do you, what do you call it? When you ghost each other, or we didn’t communicate on social media, but those feelings that you get when you’re involved with somebody, they’re exactly the same.

What? And you think I don’t know that? Just let me I’m not a little boy anymore. Let me finish, please.

You know that rush? That rush that you feel when you’re involved with somebody? That’s infatuation. A crush. But guess what?

It’s exciting, but it’s temporary. It’s not the basis of a strong and healthy relationship. Not something that can last decades, like your grandparents marriage. I’m not looking for something that can last decades. Oh, I know I’m not a little kid, but I’m not middle aged. I’m not looking to get married. I know.

I know that you’re not middle aged or looking to get married, Kate. But you are ready to start thinking about relationships. And you have to understand, the key to a successful relationship is is mutual respect. And you think I don’t know that? Well, I don’t know. I think you clearly forgot that one when it comes to Holly because she clearly does not respect you or she wouldn’t have let any of those things happen.

And she doesn’t give a damn that you were falsely accused of a terrible crime or she would have come forward and told the truth. Am I wrong?

I’m sure she has her reasons for not being able to tell the truth.

There it is. Making excuses for inexcusable behavior.

Okay, well, this is turning into somewhat of a lecture now, so I am gonna just stop there and I’m gonna just keep it really simple. And I just want you to ask yourself this. Tate, look at me. Ask yourself. Do I trust Holly enough for her to be honest? Will she always have my back? Where

was I? Witness number five. I was getting in my car in front of the bistro and I heard sirens, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. I thought I saw someone running away from the back. I think it was a man, but I’m not sure. It could have been a large dog. Big help. Witness number five. Now, let’s see here. Witness number six.

There were a number of homeless people in the area, probably junkies. One man was passed out against a what? What’s that got to do with anything?

I envy you, little one. Why wouldn’t give for a nap right now? But sir, No rest for the wicked. Witness number seven. I heard two gunshots and saw a man crumble to the ground. I was across the river and could barely see only figures in the shadows. Bollocks.

You’re scams. Show that you are in complete remission. There is no sign of cancer. God. Oh, for this wonderful, wonderful news. I germed up the doctor. Oh, does this mean you have to scrub up again? No, no, no, no, no. Uh, it’s totally okay. Moments like this are the best part of my job. Paulina, I am I’m so happy for you.

Oh, I’m even happier for me. Oh my gosh. Oh, well, so what’s next? I mean, I know I have to, you know, have those radioactive iodine treatments again, right? Yes. So, um, once that’s scheduled, you will be on your way. Admitted to the hospital and then you’ll be isolated for a few days and after that, you’ll have to take a couple of precautions, all of which will be explained to you in detail, and you can always look up any instructions on the hospital portal.

Oh, so, but, yeah, okay, but, uh, what about, you know, after that, when I, when I go home, um, will I still be able to have all the Bear Claws from Sweet Biz to my heart desire. Oh yeah. I can have some too, can’t I? Oh yes. And once, once your treatment is completed, you can have as many Bear Claws or anything from Sweet Biz.

It can be a healthy part of your diet. Oh, fine. Fine. Well then, eh, babe and I, oh, we’ll be, we’ll be just fine. Oh yes, we will. We’ll be just fine. We will. Oh, God bless you. No, it wasn’t the coma. I mean, yeah, at first my memory was a little bit fuzzy, but after a day or so, I remembered everything. And then because what I heard you say about blaming yourself, I lied, and I didn’t know how to take back that lie.

I mean, I was too much of a coward to take it back. Well, Holly, I’m sorry, but I’m done with the talk, okay? I don’t know if they get it, but I get it. You decided to not hurt your mother’s feelings and ruin my kid’s life instead. All right, EJ, here’s what’s gonna happen. I want you to get my kid out of that halfway house, now.

And I want all the charges dropped on him, now. You understand? It can’t happen immediately, Brady. It’ll take time. Time is something you don’t have, because if it doesn’t happen immediately, I will file a civil suit. By the way, I want an apology, EJ. A very public apology for my son. I want it in newspapers, I want it in The Spectator, I want it in skywriting!

Damn it. It’s okay, your stepfather will take care of this, it’ll be fine. Mom! No, it won’t be fine! I made such a mess out of everything! Nothing will ever be fine again! Honey. Hey, Nicole. Let her go. Let her go. It’s okay. It’s okay. How

long have you known? Um, she told me today. After christening, I just I just felt that was her place to tell you, not mine. You’re one of the few people I know who still keeps the confidence. Yeah, well, my seminary training still kicks in now and then. You know, she wasn’t going to go to the christening. But then I told her, you know, if she doesn’t go, then we’re not going to go.

I’m glad you were all there. It meant a lot to me. Yeah. Me too.

Somehow comforting. You know, I felt a little, just a little bit closer to my little boy, up in heaven. Nicole, you’re a, you’re a good mother. Well, I don’t feel like one right now. But if Holly learns from her mistakes, then It’s taken care of. Um,

for being there for Holly. Always. Hey, Jane. Hey,

you. Hi.

That was a very brave thing you did in there.

I love you, you know?

I love you, too. You know, sometimes I just wish that you and mom would

You know,

your mom and I, we’re, we’re both happily married now. Which means you have even more people. In your life, who care about you?

I’m always here for you. I know.

Oh, thank you again, dear Sarah, for getting me through this. I know I could be a handful. Oh, well, you know, maybe two handfuls. No, you are not a handful at all, Paulina. You, in fact, are my favorite patient. And not just mine. All the nurses and doctors here love being around you. You make us feel appreciated.

Oh, laughter is important, right? Especially around here. It is, it is. And make sure that you check your records online and make a follow up appointment with your oncologist. Oh, we can do that. Okay, okay, well, um, we’ll see you, dear, and um, take care. And enjoy that precious little girl of yours. I absolutely will.

And you guys take care, both of you. Okay.

Hey. Hey. Is everything okay? I’m just super frustrated. It’s like, I’ve been searching for hours, and I’m just banging my head into a brick wall over and over again. It’s like an endless maze of dead ends. You will find something, and I’ll help you as soon as I’m home. Oh, that’d be great. Thank you. Okay, I have to go do my rounds, but, um, maybe take Victoria for a jog.

Clear your head. Well, that’s a fantastic idea. It’ll give us an excuse to test out that new stroller your mum gave us. Okay, well, let me know how it goes. Kiss my girl for me. I will. Love you. I love you too. Did you hear that, little one? Mommy sends kisses. Yes. And she thinks that we should get some fresh air.

So, we’re gonna go play with your new stroller. What do you think of that, pumpkin? I’ll just get changed into my jogging clothes and Wait a minute. Rafe said that one of the witnesses described my jogging clothes. I wear them every time I run. They’re pretty distinctive.

So it’s done? EJ made the calls? That was quick. What? Um, Justin, this is really, really good news. Um, uh, let us know if we can do anything else. Okay, thank you. What’s going on? Pack your bags. Buddy, you’re coming home. What? Are you serious? Thousand percent. I’m coming home now? Today? Oh my god, I can’t believe it.

What’s it? Well, you just. It just goes home, and we just wait for what happens next? No, what happens next is going to happen tonight. Justin’s going to have someone come to the house and take that ankle monitor off. What? I don’t have to wear this stupid thing anymore? No, you don’t, because all the charges have been dropped, including the restraining order, and Justin confirmed it with EJ.

This, I, I, I just, this, this is, this is fantastic. It’s so unexpected, but why, what happened? Holly, Holly admitted it. Holly admitted that Tate had nothing to do with the overdose, that the drugs were hers, and that he even tried to stop her from taking the drugs. Oh, thank God. Finally. Son, everyone now knows that you were telling the truth all along.

Oh, wait a minute. What do we have here?

Oh my god, something, something must have

Well, that’s what I get for wearing the same tracksuit all the time. Victoria, this is it. It’s a slam dunk. Yes, yes indeed. Daddy’s gonna be a free man. Your daddy is gonna be free.

Well, my two favorite words in the world are now cancer and free. Ooh, smashed together in one sentence, of course. Oh, yeah. You know, I had a feeling. I had a feeling, but until you hear it from the doctor, I I just couldn’t rest easy. Well, I’m going to rest easy tonight. Just want to spend a cozy night at home with my husband.

Blissful and carefree. Oh, Abel, I have never, never loved a humble or bold as much as I do at this moment. Yeah, I know, I know, I gotta have to spend several days at the hospital again for that iodine treatment. But for now I’m not going to worry. Well, it’s just standard procedure. You’ll get through it with flying colors.

Oh, well, flying colors is fine. Fine with me. As long as I don’t glow in the dark. Oh, you are always glowing, my darling. Only when you’re around. E. J., what a day. Yeah.

But I am grateful for Eric helping out and encouraging Holly to be truthful. Well, she obviously loves and trusts him, which gives him credibility to me. Yeah. Yeah, Eric and Holly, they have a very special connection. So you had the charges dropped? Done deal. Okay. Thank you. I’m sure you had a steamroll over bureaucracy, and I, I know that Holly will be relieved as well.

And I’m sure she will be, since it’s obviously been weighing heavily on her, her deception. And it’s obvious that she cares about Tate a great deal. But we’ve known that for a while.

And now I’m wondering, and I’m sure you are as well, Who did she get those drugs from? Did she go off on her own looking for them? I don’t know, EJ. I don’t know. But we’re going to have to question her. Where they came from and, and who gave them to her. And not just for the obvious reasons, but because they nearly killed her.

And that would have destroyed you, I know. Yes. But now the most important thing is to support her. Help her through this very difficult time. And we will do that together. As a family.

So Holly confessed. She did. She did to me, to Eric, to her mother, even to EJ. Our lovely DA, who is probably very humbled at the moment. Yeah. Wow, I can’t believe it. Holly really came through for me. Yeah. Finally. And I’m going to call my dad as soon as we wrap up, because your grandparents are going to be very upset.

Very happy that you are coming. Let’s go out and celebrate. Bistro! Oh, no? Bad idea. Brady Pub! Better. I should call Holly. Um, why don’t you wait until you’re settled in? You know what? Don’t go overboard with thanking her. Okay? Because I’m still very, very angry with what she’s put you through. I was angry too.

But I’m not anymore. I mean, come on. She told everyone she didn’t have to I told her she didn’t have to What what do you mean? The last time Holly and I talked I Told her she didn’t have to tell the truth about the drugs to anyone Hey You’re gonna continue to let her off the hook continue to take the fall for her Why do you keep protecting her like this?

You are aware. She almost ruined your life. Please stop It’s okay. It’s over now. Okay. Okay, you’re right. Yes, it’s over. It’s over. You’ve been vindicated. I’m so gleeful. So should I start packing now? Yeah, but you should start packing right now. Man, I cannot wait to get out of this place. Oh my god. Come here.

I don’t know.

Days Opinions For The Week Of March 25, 2024

Opinion Article

by Michele & Cheryl

John from Days

Maybe it’s just us but we find it hard to believe that John was so broken up about killing Konstantin’s daughter. John has killed people in the past and some of them were probably innocent. Now he is suddenly so upset that he killed Konstantin’s daughter. Speaking of Konstantin, we find it hard to believe he forgives John for killing her. He was like a man on a mission trying to make John pay for what he did. Now suddenly Konstantin wants to forgive John. Since he still has the pawn card, Konstantin probably has plans to make John his pawn.

Was Theresa really angry about Alex was “dating” Kristen because she loved him or was she trying to hold on to her meal ticket? She was the one who didn’t want to be with Alex so she didn’t have a right to be upset that they could be together. Theresa should have thought about her plan before she decided to break up with him. She must have thought she could have things both ways.

Brady wasn’t acting like a man who wasn’t interested in Kristen. He seemed jealous at the idea of Alex being with Kristen. When Alex and Theresa got together, he seemed jealous that they were dating. Now that Alex is “dating” Kristen, Brady was jealous again. Does Brady secretly have feelings for both women? Brady is in denial about his feelings for Theresa and Kristen.

Eric proved he’s the worst husband in the world. We don’t know why Sloan would even want to be with him. Eric always puts Nicole ahead of her no matter what the situation is. We know Sloan is a kidnapper, but Eric doesn’t. He continues to put Nicole ahead of Sloan regardless of her feelings. Eric should think about his wife’s feelings instead of his ex’s. How would he feel if the shoe were on the other foot? He would expect Sloan to choose him over her ex.

Do the writers need to consult the soap bible so they can remember the history of the characters? The people in Salem tend to forget that they are related. Theresa referred to Sloan as Sloan Peterson as if they aren’t related through marriage. Tate referred to Johnny as Holly’s stepbrother as if they weren’t cousins. Johnny and Tate are linked more than Holly and Johnny, yet Tate acted as if Holly was closer to Johnny than he was.

We loved seeing Jada rip into Stephanie about Everett. At first, we thought Jada was being a little hard on Stephanie when she said she wouldn’t have hooked up with Everett if she knew he was married, but the longer they were talking, we were Team Jada. Jada was right about Stephanie standing by Everett’s side when Jada told her what he did to her. Stephanie was acting as if Everett needed her by his side just because he didn’t have anyone else in Salem. She didn’t care about her friendship with Jada. Jada doesn’t have family in Salem either, but Stephanie’s concern was Everett.

Why wouldn’t Eric’s siblings be at Jude’s christening? It’s not believable that Carrie and Rex would miss the christening. You would think the writers would have written an excuse for why none of them were there. It’s a safe bet that the christening wasn’t planned on short notice, so they had time to be there. We understand they aren’t on the show anymore, but they could have recasted them or made an excuse for why they are there.

Kristen: Didn’t your mother ever teach you never to keep a girl waiting?
Alex: Six whole minutes?

(about Theresa living with Brady)
Kristen: Does your pea brain grasp how counterproductive that is?
Alex: Look Cruella. I’m not one of your little puppy catchers, so if you want my help with this you better not talk down to me.

(to Sarah about Victoria)
Xander: My daughter’s not going to go anywhere with boys until she’s 27. Even then I’m going to be there with her.

(to Theresa about Kristen being crazy)
Alex: Maybe I like a little crazy in my life. I mean I was with you.

(when Theresa came in the DiMera mansion)
Theresa: Harold let me in. I’m guessing you were too lazy to get up.
Kristen: Well that’s what servants are for.

(to Kristen)
Theresa: This is not 1955. Parents can co-parent kids without being together.

(to Harris about who could have framed Xander for shooting him)
Xander: Unfortunately, Salem is filled with a number of people who would want to do him in. EJ DiMera being at the top of the list.

Priest: Are you here for a confession?
Leo: How much time do you have?

Daytime Soap Opera Short Recaps

Days of Our Lives logo

Recap written by Michele and Cheryl

Eric talked to Sloan about Nicole hosting their Christening. She had trouble forgiving Nicole after what she did. Theresa and Brady talked about Tate staying away from Holly. She talked to Tate about focusing on his work and not on Holly. John told Marlena that he had to live with taking a woman’s life. He felt he had to live with it for the rest of his life. Marlena reminded him that he didn’t remember the time. She said there’s no evidence he had anything to do with her death. John told her that Steve was there. She explained that Steve and Stefano were there too. Marlena didn’t trust Steve’s memory. She said that what he’s going through hurts her. He never wanted to hurt her. Marlena said he was a good man. Melinda told Leo that he wasn’t going to the Christening. Leo insisted that he was going because they were responsible for why Eric and Sloan had Jude. Melinda threatened him to keep his mouth shut or he would go to prison. Sloan apologized to Eric about her attitude about Nicole hosting the Christening. She said it was kind of EJ and Nicole to host it. Sloan realized that it would be good for them. Holly let Nicole and EJ know that she wasn’t going to the Christening. They wanted to know what was wrong with her. She insisted that she was okay. Holly wanted them to go, but they refused if she didn’t go.

Leo didn’t like how Melinda brought up his arrangement with Sloan. Melinda comforted herself with knowing that Jude was being taken care of. Leo thought Eric was a good parent, but Sloan didn’t have a maternal nature. Holly didn’t want Nicole and EJ to miss the Christening. Nicole wondered if she was uncomfortable because Brady and Theresa would be there. She talked Holly into going to it. Marlena wanted John to put his guilt away for one day to focus on Jude. She wanted him to do it for her. John agreed to do it for her. Melinda arrived at Sloan’s place and asked her about Leo being invited to the wedding. She reminded Sloan that it would be wrong for Nicole and Leo to be together. John and Marlena arrived at the church. He felt like it calmed him down. They spotted Leo at the church. Tucker: Hey, Jack. You got a minute?

Jack: For you, no.

Tucker: Ah, wait. It’s important. Please.

Jack: You know, I’ve been coming to this club my whole life. I love this place. What I don’t like is the increasing likelihood I’m gonna run into you. Why are you still here?

Tucker: Well, I live here.

Jack: I meant in genoa city. Isn’t glissade your new life’s work in Paris?

Tucker: You know, there’s this really neat new invention. Um… what’s it called? The internet. And, uh, you can be in one place and do work in another. Unbelievable. You should check it out.

Jack: Maybe you could use it to get yourself a one-way ticket to France. There is nothing like face-to-face time with your employees, especially when you had to hire a whole new staff and board. Or are you staying away so they don’t get to know the real tucker McCall?

Tucker: Has it ever occurred to you I might move glissade here

Cole: Can I talk with you and Claire in private?

Claire: Well, if whatever you have to say is about Jordan, you can speak freely. I told Kyle the whole ugly truth, just so you know.

Kyle: Um, this sounds like a family matter, and I should– I should probably get back to Harrison anyway.

Claire: There it is. That’s the reaction I was waiting for. Better run.

Kyle: I’m impressed. Not many people could bounce back after what you’ve been through. And for the record, I’m not running. I’m just giving you all some privacy.

Claire: Thank you.

Victoria: This is novel. A stress-free day with no surprises in store. Feels like it’s been forever.

Claire: I think maybe it has been forever for me. Being free of Jordan, not being worried about her next plan or when she might pop in again and try to ruin our lives. My whole life I’ve been on edge because of her.

Victoria: You don’t have to worry about that anymore. We’re free to go out and do things without looking over our shoulder constantly. In fact, I think that’s exactly what we should do. We should do something incredibly normal. Like, go for a long walk or a drive or a mother-daughter shopping spree. Or we could go see a movie. I think that we deserve that, don’t you?

Claire: Maybe we start by just going to lunch? Without security guards

*****************************

Victoria: Wow, look at us. Out and about.

Claire: You do this with Nikki, right? Mother-daughter lunches?

Victoria: Absolutely. All the time. Now it’s our turn.

Claire: It’s still weird, the difference between researching you and actually knowing you.

Victoria: Oh, well, I don’t think I want to know what they say about me in the press or on social media.

[ Claire laughing ]

Claire: The press doesn’t know how silly you can be or how sweet or that you’re not the best baker?

Victoria: Oh, well, I’m sure that Johnny and Katie are gonna tell you all about that. In the meantime, there’s just so much that I want to know.

Heather: Oh, right. Okay, just, uh, for the sake of argument, let’s say you met this guy.

Daniel: Uh-huh.

Heather: And you just– you can’t stand him.

Daniel: Okay.

Heather: But he asked Lucy to the prom, and she’s over the moon, thrilled to go. You’re not actually gonna tell Lucy she can’t go, are you?

Daniel: Yeah, maybe I am.

Heather: Okay, that’s pretty funny to me, because you’re the biggest pushover I’ve ever seen when it comes to Lucy.

Daniel: That’s– no, that’s not true. I have said no to her plenty of times. Like, once when she was three, and she asked me if i would teach her how to drive.

Heather: Hm. Lucy’s always made good choices when it comes to people she’s hung out with, so I don’t see why this boy that she has a crush on will be any different.

Daniel: Sure. Let’s just hope that he’s not like me when I was his age.

Devon: We haven’t gotten that far yet, no, but when we do, we will welcome your input.

Devon: Can you drop this, Billy?

Billy: Oh, I get it now.

Devon: Can you please drop this?

Billy: So something happened between heather and Daniel, and now you want to fire them both.
