Days of Our Lives Update

Alex exits his apartment right as Stephanie is coming home and greets him. Stephanie comments on the great weather and then mentions that she finished the book on time management that Alex wanted to read, so she says he can come by and get it later. Alex then thinks back to Chad telling him to stop coming over. Alex then tells Stephanie that it’s okay as he’ll probably never read it anyway and walks away. Stephanie guesses she’ll see him later then.

Rafe and Jada sit together at the Brady Pub as Rafe is reading Leo’s column and comments on Alex Kiriakis moving in across the hall from Stephanie and Chad, noting how awkward it must be to live across from your ex. Jada questions Rafe talking to her about a gossip column instead of talking about Mayor Rawlings giving Shawn his job.

Shawn brings Belle to the police commissioner’s office. Belle comments that she’s so glad they lifted his suspension but questions what they are doing in Rafe’s office. Shawn reveals that it’s no longer Rafe’s office, but his. Belle asks what he’s talking about. Shawn then announces that he is officially the new police commissioner.

John finds Brady packing Rachel’s bag at home. Brady talks about preparing for Rachel to leave for good and he has an hour before he has to drop her off with Kristen. John tells Brady he’s sorry as he still can’t believe they gave Kristen full custody. John calls it a real nightmare but Brady says in a nightmare, you wake up and things go back to normal but because of the judge’s decision, nothing will ever be normal again.

Kristen joins EJ in the living room of the DiMera Mansion and calls it a beautiful night. EJ tells Kristen that he has some wonderful news and informs her that he asked Nicole to marry him. Kristen responds that it can’t compete with her amazing news as she announces that her daughter Rachel is coming home to live with her for good.

Chad plays with his kids at home as Stephanie walks in. The kids show Stephanie cards they made for Rachel as they are having a sleepover for Rachel’s first night at the DiMera Mansion. Stephanie comments on Kristen getting full custody as Chad sends the kids to go get ready. Stephanie feels bad for Brady. Stephanie then asks Chad if he’s seen Alex today. Chad says no and asks why. Stephanie mentions just running in to Alex in the hallway and he totally blew her off. Stephanie asks if Chad has any idea why. Chad claims he doesn’t know why and suggests maybe he had a bad day at work. Stephanie calls it weird, like Alex really didn’t want to engage and barely looked at her. Stephanie then gets a text and says there’s a change of plans as she’s been asked to come pitch a new marketing plan for a new venture which would be a big account to land. Chad tells her to go. Stephanie says she wanted to be at the house with him and the kids but Chad says it will be fine. Stephanie kisses him and says he’s very understanding which is one of the many reasons he’s an excellent boyfriend. Stephanie asks if Chad is going to pretend it’s a good thing that Kristen got custody. Chad feels he has no choice because there’s no way he’s going to make an enemy out of Kristen.

Kristen comments on EJ not seeming excited that she got full custody of her daughter. EJ asks if she blackmailed a judge. Kristen responds that she didn’t have to lift a finger. EJ doesn’t believe that. Kristen states that when Brady pulled a gun on her, she thought she had a shot at shared custody but she won the jackpot. EJ congratulates her. Kristen asks if he’s being sincere. EJ says he’s a parent so he knows how painful it is to be separated from your child and he wouldn’t wish that on her. Kristen thanks him and says that means a lot to her. EJ adds that Kristen beat Brady at his own game which delights her to know.

Brady talks to John about Rachel growing up but still loving her doll. Brady talks about being the one who knows what Rachel’s interests are and knowing what to do when she is scared. John says everyone knows how much Brady loves his daughter. Brady regrets pulling a gun on Kristen and giving the court every reason to give custody to Kristen. John agrees that it’s not fair. Brady asks how anyone in the world could think Kristen’s influence could be good for any kid and now there’s nothing he can do about it. John is sure Brady would do almost anything to fix it, like buying a car online with an out of state license to whisk his daughter away under the cover of darkness. Brady calls that a good idea that he wishes he thought of. John says he did and will act on that plan within an hour. Brady questions what he’s talking about. John explains the way the wi-fi is wired at their home and how everything runs through him because of his work with Black Patch, so he knows Brady ordered a car online from Texas. Brady questions John spying on him and claims he’s been looking for that car for awhile and finally found it so he got it. John points out Brady having it delivered to the outskirts of town instead of to his home. Brady questions John following him too. John guesses Brady will have a headstart and be a couple states away before anyone realizes. John admits it’s a pretty smart plan initially. Brady acknowledges it wasn’t smart enough to fool him. Brady then asks if John is going to try to stop him.

Rafe admits to Jada that he was surprised when he found out Mayor Rawlings gave Shawn his job, but no one wants to hear him complain about it. Jada says he’s allowed to vent and be upset. Rafe asks what he’s going to vent about when he broke the rules. Jada points out that Shawn did too. Rafe calls it completely different situations. Jada blames Shawn for Rawlings knowing about them in the first place which Rafe notes he didn’t do intentionally. Jada feels it still has to hurt that Shawn got his job. Rafe asks if she’s trying to make him snap. Jada says she’s just trying to help him be more honest about his feelings. Rafe admits that it stings a lot and he hates it, but it was going to suck no matter who they gave his job to. Jada question why Shawn. Rafe asks who else they should have given it to. Jada suggests herself.

Belle doesn’t understand how Shawn is the new commissioner. Shawn explains that the acting Mayor wanted him to take over for Rafe. Belle questions him just saying yes. Shawn clarifies that he turned it down at first and even said Rafe was the right man for the job, then suggested Jada take the job but Rawlings pointed out that Jada was implicated as well as Rafe. Shawn adds that Mayor Rawlings told him if he didn’t take the job, he wouldn’t let him come back, so it was either this or nothing. Shawn asks if Belle thinks he should have walked away.

Chad brings the kids to the DiMera Mansion. Kristen hugs the kids and thanks them for coming, noting that Rachel will be so happy to see them. Kristen says Rachel will be there very soon and takes the kids to see their bedroom upstairs. Chad comments to EJ about Kristen getting full custody. EJ notes that Kristen swears that she didn’t bribe the judge. Chad informs EJ that he took his advice and told Alex to back off and admits it’s paying off.

Alex meets with Yuri at the bar. Alex mentions that Brady won’t be joining them but assures that he’s as excited as he is about Yuri’s collaboration with Basic Black. Yuri states that they are going to make some money together. Alex says there are some important things to have in place first such as marketing and PR. Yuri reveals he already thought of that and thinks it would be prudent to bring in an outside candidate which he’s already taken care of. Yuri declares he got the best in the business and she’s on her way now, which turns out to be Stephanie. Stephanie joins them and asks Yuri about this being the project he wanted to see her about. Yuri brings up Stephanie and Alex working together in the past to great success and says he’d like Alex to oversee Stephanie’s role as she’s the best in the business. Yuri asks if they don’t mind working closely together. Stephanie says of course not and it will be great but Alex says he’s sorry as this can’t happen.

Chad tells EJ that he was firm, assertive, and told Alex what’s what. EJ brings up what would Stefano do. Chad states that Alex heard him and agreed to keep up his end of the agreement as he apparently blew off Stephanie in the hall and barely spoke to her, which left her confused because she’s unaware of his warning. Chad doesn’t like keeping things from Stephanie but thinks in this case, it’s for the best as soon Alex will be out of their lives and she’ll barely know he’s gone. EJ credits his stellar advice. Kristen returns and accuses them of coming up with the worst plan. Kristen reveals she heard them talking and declares that what Chad did is going to backfire on him spectacularly.

Rafe questions if Jada wanted his job. Jada says she’s just asking why it couldn’t have been her if Mayor Rawlings was going to give someone the job. Rafe calls her a great cop and he’s sure she’d make an even better commissioner so he doesn’t understand why Rawlings didn’t give her the job. Jada complains of being a person of color and having to see a flawed white guy just walk up and get the job that she’s qualified for. Jada says she’s not saying that Shawn’s not a great detective, but he just got busted for drinking on the job. Rafe adds that Jada has been in the center of their major investigations for the past 6 months. Jada argues that Shawn just walks in and gets a shiny new job and office. Rafe jokes that it sounds like he’s not the one who needed to vent. Jada says she will stop because she sounds bitter and petty. Rafe assures she’s neither of those things. Jada brings up how this happened at her last job. Rafe calls it wrong in so many ways. Jada admits it’s not Shawn’s fault and she doesn’t blame him, noting that he did decline the job and even recommended Rafe, but she can’t help but feel upset that he came in at the right place, right time, and right skin tone.

Belle tells Shawn that Rafe was a really popular commissioner that everybody loved. Shawn calls him a great boss but asks Belle again if she thinks he should’ve turned it down. Belle thinks she would have reservations about him taking this on because he’s still in a fragile place and he’s been struggling with what happened with his dad. Belle admits that he’s making great progress with Marlena but there’s still a ways to go. Shawn asks if she thinks the job is too much for him. Belle calls him the strongest person she knows so she’s not doubting him. Shawn gets that she’s afraid he’s going to relapse and start drinking again which Belle admits. Shawn feels it’s a good thing as he’s never going to let his guard down. Shawn insists he knows the importance of this job as he had three family members serve honorably. Belle assures that she’s proud of him. Shawn understands her doubts but suggests this challenge could be what he needs to finally heal and start believing in himself again. Belle insists that he doesn’t have to prove himself to her as she believes in him more than anyone else. Shawn asks if that means she’s on board. Belle thinks that if he wants to do this, he will be the best Commissioner Brady there ever was as Shawn then hugs her.

John feels if he tried to stop Brady, he’d wind up unconscious on the floor and Brady would still take off with his daughter. Brady guesses he understands how willing he is to protect his daughter. John acknowledges that Brady is the only person that can stop himself from doing this. Brady questions John thinking he’s making a big mistake. John points out that to the cops, he’s going to be a kidnapper but he’s most worried about Kristen having unlimited resources which means he will never not be on the run. John warns that Brady and Rachel will be constantly looking over their shoulder and will never be able to settle anywhere. Brady argues that it’s better than doing nothing and shouts that he has to act. John warns Brady about the corner he will back Rachel in to and how she’ll never see her friends again. John shouts that this is no life for a little girl and warns that the day will come where Rachel will hate him for that. Brady insists that he’s thought about all of this and gone through every scenario. Brady knows it will be a challenge to be on the run but the alternative is Kristen poisoning Rachel every day and turning her against them every day. John complains that running is not the only option and urges him to stay and fight. Brady doesn’t want to lose. John believes Brady will prove to be the better parent. Brady worries that Kristen will be driving Rachel away from him. John warns that if Brady defies the court order, this will be over and he’ll never be safe from the law or Kristen because when they find him, he’ll lose his daughter forever and Kristen will win.

Kristen says she’s sorry for interrupting EJ and Chad’s meeting of the minds but they were speaking out in the open and sounded so proud of their scheme. EJ argues that it’s not a scheme. Kristen says she’d expect it from EJ but Chad is smarter than this. Kristen questions Chad taking EJ’s relationship advice now. Chad says usually he’d agree with her, but in this situation, EJ was right as he had a problem in his relationship, they came up with a solution and so far it seems to be working. Kristen asks what happens when Alex tells Stephanie that Chad went behind her back to scare off the competition. Chad argues that Alex is not competition and he’s not going to say anything. Kristen asks why he wouldn’t. Chad states that they have a gentlemen’s agreement which Kristen doesn’t believe.

Stephanie questions Alex not wanting to work with her. Alex says it’s not that he doesn’t want to. Yuri questions what’s going on here since Stephanie is the best in the business. Alex argues that Stephanie already does PR for Titan while Basic Black is a subsidiary of DiMera and they are bitter rivals. Alex adds that Stephanie will be working for Maggie and could unintentionally pass on important information. Stephanie asks if he’s saying she’s stupid and argues that he knows he can trust her as she’s a professional. Yuri questions why Alex is resisting this. Alex says he’d rather not say and is just trying to do what he’s supposed to. Stephanie doesn’t understand, so Alex tells her to ask Chad. Stephanie questions what the hell Chad has to do with this.

Kristen questions Chad thinking he’s safe because the guy who has a thing for his girlfriend agreed to not make him look foolish in her eyes. EJ feels she’s putting a very negative spin on this. Kristen says she’s calling it as she sees it. Chad repeats that Alex said he wouldn’t say anything. Kristen mocks the idea of men never breaking their word. Chad talks about how disruptive Alex was in he and Stephanie’s relationship. Kristen says she sympathizes with that but insists that EJ’s horrendous idea will backfire on him and when it does, Stephanie will see Alex in a whole new light because Chad made him the victim. Kristen remarks that Stefano would be so proud of them.

Jada tells Rafe that she’s done venting. Rafe jokes that he could listen for another hour or two if she needs. Rafe states that he agrees with everything she said. Jada can’t believe that tomorrow morning she has to report to her new boss, who is a drunk who put his own father in a coma right as Shawn enters the Pub with Belle. Jada then turns around and awkwardly greets Shawn.

Alex claims to Stephanie that Chad doesn’t want her work at Titan to be put in jeopardy if Maggie finds out. Stephanie says nice try but that’s not what he meant. Alex says they don’t have to have this conversation but Stephanie says they are going to. Yuri remarks that they have a very interesting relationship. Alex says it’s not a relationship. Stephanie questions if they are not friends. Alex responds that he’s just trying to do the right thing. Stephanie asks what the hell that even means and what is really going on as she demands the truth. Alex then reveals that Chad thinks he wants her back and warned him to stay away from her by telling him to back off or else. Stephanie realizes that’s why Alex wouldn’t speak to her in the hallway. Alex repeats that he’s just trying to do the right thing by her and Chad. Yuri asks if they can start over now that it’s out in the open. Stephanie decides Alex doesn’t get out of this that easily and neither does Chad, as she then storms out of the bar. Alex complains that she wasn’t supposed to hear all that as they had a gentlemen’s agreement.

Chad complains that he doesn’t know what he was thinking. EJ questions him listening to Kristen. Chad worries that Kristen is right that he made the whole thing worse. Chad admits he didn’t trust Alex to be around Stephanie so he questions trusting Alex to be quiet about their agreement. Chad worries about Stephanie finding out. Chad tells them to tell the kids he’ll be back but he has to go deal with this before his whole life explodes and rushes out. Kristen wishes him luck and remarks that she’s glad she could help. EJ complains that it was all going well until Kristen stuck her nose in. EJ asks if Kristen is trying to sabotage their family. Kristen responds that he can’t ruin her evening because Brady will be there with Rachel any minute and that’s all that matters to her as nothing else is important.

Brady knows John is trying to help but his mind is made up. John reminds Brady that he regretted pulling a gun on Kristen. Brady calls that different. John asks how since Brady’s impulsiveness cost him the first time and this time, it will cost him everything. John asks what if Rachel never forgives him. Brady says it’s a risk he has to take and he has to get going as he doesn’t want to miss his head start or risk Kristen tracking him down at the state line. John urges Brady to think about this. John warns that Brady and Rachel’s whole lives depends on this decision. Brady tells John that he loves him, then takes the bags and exits the room.

Jada tells Shawn that she was just venting but she knows he’s not a drunk and what happened with his dad was an accident. Rafe adds that it’s been a frustrating day for everyone. Jada tells Shawn that she’s so sorry. Shawn knows that Jada is embarrassed that he walked in on that, but the truth is, he’s the one that should be. Shawn brings up what he did to Rafe and then the Mayor turns around and gives him his job. Rafe acknowledges that he didn’t ask for it. Shawn says Rafe still doesn’t deserve this and apologizes. Shawn doesn’t know what else to say. Rafe tells him to just do a good job as that’s all that matters in the end.

Yuri tells Alex that he’s had business deals implode over the years but it’s always about money and he’s never seen this before. Alex tells him not right now. Yuri asks if he’s really that upset about what happened. Alex asks if he saw how upset Stephanie was when she left. Yuri points out that she’s mostly upset at Chad. Yuri asks if Alex is really that crazy about Stephanie. Alex admits that he is. Yuri says he doesn’t really care about this domestic soap opera love triangle, but he sees that Alex’s chances of stealing Stephanie back are 60-40 or maybe a little more, so he congratulates him. Alex repeats that they had a gentlemen’s agreement.

Chad goes home to find Stephanie pouring glasses of wine. Stephanie notes that he’s home earlier than she thought and asks if he wants a glass. Chad declines and says he was hoping she’d be back from her meeting by now. Stephanie asks if everything is alright. Chad says with the kids out, he thought it’d be a good time for them to talk. Stephanie calls it a coincidence as she was thinking the same thing. Stephanie then throws her glass of wine in Chad’s face and tells him to sit down if he wants to talk because she’s going first.

John looks at a photo of Brady and Rachel, hoping that Brady will come to his senses before it’s too late.

EJ asks Kristen about Brady being there any minute. Kristen states that he’s late. EJ guesses he must have hit traffic getting across town. Kristen says maybe and checks outside. Kristen then worries that maybe EJ decided he couldn’t live with the judge’s decision. EJ questions if Brady would just take Rachel and run. Kristen admits it’s something she would do. Kristen then calls Belle and says she needs to her to call the judge and every police jurisdiction before it’s too late. Belle tells her to slow down as she has no idea what she’s talking about. Kristen shouts that Brady has decided to go on the run with her daughter and she will not stand for it. Brady then arrives with Rachel, exciting Kristen as Rachel runs up and hugs her.

Paulina complains to Chanel about the acting Mayor thinking he can shut down the Bakery over a sticker that she was never sent. Chanel insists that it was personal and that Mayor Rawlings wanted her shut down for good and thinks she got preferential treatment because Abe was the Mayor. Paulina declares that she’s not going to let Mayor Rawlings bully Chanel out of business, so she’s going to take care of him and storms off.

Kayla sits with Abe and continues to try to jog his memory with photos. Kayla shows him Chanel which Abe correctly recognizes. Abe then suggests going through the photos again so Kayla starts over with Marlena.

Marlena asks Talia what kind of feelings she wants to talk about in regards to Chanel. Talia doesn’t know and admits it might be romantic feelings, but she knows Chanel dated Marlena’s granddaughter and was married to her grandson, so she understands if this is too weird for her to talk about. Marlena responds that Talia is her patient, so she is here to listen to her without judgment.

Tripp is at the hospital and calls Wendy to ask what she’s doing. Wendy responds that she just got home from work and was just about to watch a movie. Tripp says there’s a change of plans and she will meet him tonight as he swapped shifts. Wendy asks what the plan is. Tripp informs her that he booked them another room at the Salem Inn that isn’t occupied so there will be no interruptions. Tripp says it will just be them tonight. Wendy responds that she will pack a bag and see him there.

Ava returns to Harris at Bayview and tells him not to worry as she’s not going to attack him again and she just wanted to apologize. Harris questions her calling him Harris. Ava assures that she knows that’s his name now and introduces herself. Ava says she’s feeling better after earlier thinking that he was her dead son Charlie. Harris informs her that Marlena explained. Ava asks if Marlena told him why she would attack her own child. Harris admits she did not. Ava then explains that her son Charlie had issues, kidnapped her, and drugged her food which started her hallucinations. Ava adds that her other son Tripp found her and she lost her grip on reality, so she ended up in the hospital where her hallucinations continued. Ava notes that just when she was starting to feel better, Charlie showed up to try to kill her but luckily, people showed up to stop him and then someone stopped him for good as he was shot to death. Harris tells Ava that he’s so sorry. Ava says it’s okay and that after that, her hallucinations stopped for awhile and she was doing great for a bit, but then she was having a rough time a couple months ago and the hallucinations started again with Charlie telling her to do terrible things. Ava admits that she had a full on psychotic break and that’s how she ended up here. Harris mentions that Marlena thought she was improving. Ava confirms that she had been between the meds and therapy, so she thought the visions were gone but apparently not. Ava is sure Harris didn’t want to hear all that, but she really wanted to apologize for attacking him earlier as it was nothing personal. Ava comments that Harris seems like a really nice person and assures she will do her best to make sure nothing like that happens again.

Talia informs Marlena that she’s never been attracted to women before and has like no experience as she’s only really been in one relationship in her life and that guy turned out to be a lunatic. Talia can’t help but think that her interest in women is because of what one terrible man did to her. Marlena questions if that’s what she thinks is happening. Talia admits she doesn’t know and says after everything that happened with Colin, she doesn’t trust her judgment anymore so it’s entirely possible that her feelings for Chanel aren’t real.

Johnny finds Chanel in the town square and questions the Bakery being shut down. Talia confirms that Salem’s acting Mayor shut her down because she failed to display the City of Salem sticker in the window which they never sent her. Chanel argues that the whole thing is bogus as she doesn’t see any stickers around but somehow, only her business was hit by the surprise inspection. Chanel adds that Mayor Rawlings practically admitted to being out to get her. Johnny asks what his problem is and why he is targeting her. Chanel responds that she has no idea and wonders what difference it makes. Johnny argues that he can’t just shut her down, so she has to fight back. Chanel mentions that Paulina agrees and said that she had someway to fix it but wouldn’t tell her what and that Paulina then just stormed off so lord knows what she’s up to.

Kayla shows Abe a photo of Paulina. Abe states that she is his wife but repeats that every time he tries to picture her, he sees Whitley. Kayla suggests taking a break and getting fresh air. Paulina then shows up at the door and declares that she needs to see Abe now.

Harris comments on Ava being so upset awhile ago but now seeming sane. Ava responds that the meds work fast. Ava admits she tried to take herself off the meds but she won’t make that mistake again. Harris relates to thinking you’re recovered but realizing you’re not. Ava says under different circumstances, she would ask what he’s in for but she doesn’t want to pry. Harris tells her that he doesn’t mind sharing since they are here to talk, listen, and learn from one another. Harris says before getting to him, he’d like to finish talking about her. Harris asks if Ava knows why she’s still having hallucinations. Ava responds that her shrink thinks it’s a manifestation of her guilty conscience. Harris asks what she feels guilty about. Ava asks where to begin.

Talia tells Marlena that she doesn’t even know why she’s talking about this since it’s not like anything can happen between her and Chanel after everything she did to hurt her family. Marlena reminds her that they talked about that before and that Talia was in an emotionally abusive relationship where Colin manipulated her in to doing things she didn’t want to do. Talia mentions telling Chanel that so she could understand. Talia adds that they only met because Colin wanted her to destroy Chanel’s life, but she actually ended up genuinely liking her and still does. Talia admits that she misses Chanel and she hasn’t felt this way about other friends. Talia asks if that means she’s bisexual. Marlena doesn’t think they have to label it but that she has to acknowledge if she has romantic feelings for Chanel and be honest with herself. Talia then declares that she has romantic feelings for Chanel.

Chanel tells Johnny that Paulina is probably going all mama bear on someone in City Hall. Johnny encourages that if anyone can get the job done, it’s Paulina. Chanel brings up not seeing Johnny in awhile so she asks how he’s been. Johnny responds that he’s been good and that he was out of town for awhile. Johnny then sees Wendy going in to the Salem Inn with her bag packed. Chanel asks where Johnny went. Johnny tells her that he was in New Zealand as Will invited him out to see his film set and he had nothing else going on. Johnny praises the film technology over there. Chanel asks if he went sight seeing while there. Johnny says he did and that New Zealand is beautiful so he wishes he could’ve stayed longer. Chanel asks about family. Johnny talks about Arianna and Henry. Chanel adds that he can tell her about Allie, guessing that he did see her. Johnny confirms that he did.

Wendy enters the room at the Salem Inn where Tripp is inside with a candle lit dinner set up. Tripp tells her that she looks so beautiful. Wendy comments that he didn’t have to do all this. Tripp reminds her that they wanted their first time to be perfect, so he hopes he can live up to the hype. Wendy assures that he already has as they kiss.

Kayla questions what Paulina is doing there since she agreed to give Abe some space. Paulina pushes her way in and declares that this is an emergency. Paulina sits with Abe and tells him that she is his wife. Abe responds that he knows who she is and he thought she understood that he’s not ready to go back to her place. Paulina argues that it’s their home and she wishes he was there with her, but that’s not what she came to ask. Abe states that whatever it is, the answer will still be the same as he cannot be a good husband right now. Paulina questions if he can be a good mayor.

Harris tells Ava that he understands if it’s too personal. Ava agrees they are there to talk, listen, and learn. Ava explains to Harris that her older son Tripp was taken from her as a baby when her father sold him on the black market. Harris says he’s so sorry. Ava says she was devastated and her father thought she could just have another kid and magically be cured. Ava adds that when she held Charlie, she felt nothing because it just reminded her of what she had lost with Steve and Tripp, so she gave Charlie to his father. Ava talks about how Charlie would try anything to get her attention but she gave him nothing. Harris understands she had been traumatized. Ava points out that wasn’t Charlie’s fault and he didn’t deserve to be punished for what her father did as he needed a mother’s love but he didn’t get that, so he grew up with hate in his heart and did horrible, hateful things just like she did. Ava states that an innocent woman died because of her and she can’t say Charlie made her do it because it was a voice in her head. Ava adds that it’s not the first time that she’s caused someone’s death and remarks that Harris has no idea what it’s like to be responsible for something so tragic. Harris corrects her that he unfortunately knows exactly what that feels like.

Wendy tells Tripp that she’s actually not hungry for dinner and suggests they skip ahead which Tripp agrees they can do.

Talia tells Marlena that Chanel even considering her a friend again is more than she could’ve expected, so she worries that expecting anything more would be too much. Talia adds that she doesn’t deserve to be happy with Chanel after everything she did. Marlena feels that sounds like something Colin would put in her head and says it isn’t true. Marlena adds that Colin kept power of her, but now she has taken back her power and is working on her mental health. Talia guesses it’s probably not a good idea to jump in to a relationship right now. Marlena says maybe not but it’s also not good to repress her feelings.

Chanel brings up that Johnny and Allie weren’t on the best terms when Allie left town. Johnny acknowledges that she moved to a different hemisphere without letting him know or saying goodbye. Chanel talks about the mess between them and Allie and Alex. Chanel hopes things are better between them. Johnny confirms that Allie apologized for leaving the way she did. Johnny gets that Allie just needed to get out and start fresh and she seems to be doing really well now that she’s seeing someone else. Chanel admits that rattled her at first but she’s fine now. Chanel asks what Allie’s boyfriend is like. Johnny claims that he’s a total tool with zero personality and jokes that he’s ugly. Chanel says nice try but she has seen pictures of him and he could pass for a Hemsworth brother. Chanel tells Johnny to tell her the truth and guesses the guy is great. Johnny admits he’s pretty cool and that Allie seems happy with him. Chanel says she’s glad. Johnny then states that he doesn’t hold a candle to Chanel as nobody does.

Abe questions what Paulina is talking about. Paulina explains that the acting mayor, Clint Rawlings, has shut down Chanel’s bakery again and complains that it’s not fair or right, while Abe is the only one who can fix it. Abe questions how he can do that. Paulina argues that it’s Abe’s job and Clint only stepped in when Abe was presumed dead, so he needs to go take his job back and kick that power tripper to the curb. Paulina says if it was some random person, she wouldn’t ask, but it’s Chanel and Abe thinks of her as his own. Paulina brings up that Chanel was only able to open the Bakery because of Abe. Paulina talks about how Abe was so impressed that Chanel got the approval to open the bakery and was thriving. Paulina knows that if Abe could remember, he’d do everything in his power to get the Bakery running again. Paulina pleads with Abe to help Chanel before it’s too late.

Ava says that Harris being brainwashed is not his fault. Harris says it doesn’t fit with who he is or who he thought he was as Navy SEALs are trained to resist but he couldn’t resist orders to kill two innocent people and a couple weeks ago, he was going to kill someone that he didn’t even know. Harris doesn’t understand why he’s so vulnerable to being controlled this way. Harris says he had to make sure it didn’t happen again, so he asked Marlena to have him committed. Harris always thought of himself as an elite, invincible warrior. Ava points out that nobody is invincible and nobody likes being controlled. Harris responds that all he knows now is that he’s done walking out worrying that he could become someone else’s pawn. Harris asks how long it’s been since Ava has talked to Tripp. Ava admits it’s been awhile because last time he came to visit a few months ago, she thought he was Charlie and attacked him, so the doctors told Tripp to stay away as they were afraid that seeing him would trigger her. Harris knows that must be really hard. Ava admits she was relieved as she can’t keep putting Tripp through that and doing that to him. Ava brings up that the doctors recently said she could see him again but she doesn’t want to snap on him again and feels she can’t keep dragging Tripp through her own nightmare as he doesn’t deserve it. Harris asks if the alternative is not seeing her son anymore and if that’s what she really wants.

Tripp presents Wendy with dessert and says he knows what she meant but they can’t let it all go to waste. Tripp then brings in another room service cart of chocolate fondue. Wendy then calls Tripp her dream come true. Tripp says she is his too and they kiss.

Talia questions what she’s even supposed to say to Chanel about her feelings. Marlena suggests a more nuanced approach. Talia asks what if Chanel freaks out on her and gets furious. Marlena admits she can’t promise that won’t happen but the last thing she wants to have is regret. Marlena worries that if Talia doesn’t talk to Chanel, she will never know what might have been.

Chanel thanks Johnny. Johnny thinks Allie was nuts to give her up. Chanel says she would say the same about Wendy giving Johnny up. Johnny thinks Wendy would disagree and admits that he just saw Wendy heading in to the Salem Inn with an overnight bag. Chanel says she’s sorry and asks if he didn’t see it coming at all. Johnny thought things were going great. Chanel asks if Wendy gave him an explanation. Johnny admits that she did and thinks back to Wendy telling him that she didn’t think he was over Chanel. Chanel asks what Wendy’s reason was for breaking things off.

Paulina worries about the town of Salem with Mayor Rawlings in charge. Kayla pulls Paulina aside and insists that Abe needs to focus on his recovery. Paulina argues that she is Abe’s wife. Abe interrupts and says he may have lost his memory, but he still has a brain and free will, so this decision is all up to him. Abe announces that he’s decided he will do it which excites Paulina.

Ava tells Harris that the idea of never seeing Tripp again is unimaginable but feels she’s been nothing but a burden to him, so maybe it’s better if he just stays away. Harris asks if she thinks that’s what Tripp wants. Ava knows her son loves her, but says all she does is cause him pain and he’s had so much of that in his life. Ava talks about the things Tripp has overcome and that he’s a doctor now. Harris states that he’s not a parent but he can hear the love in her voice, so he knows Tripp must feel that and there’s no way he’d want to be cut off from that. Ava worries about attacking him again and insists she must protect Tripp like she failed to do with Charlie. Harris questions if she’s protecting Tripp or herself. Harris knows Ava is scared and admits that he is too, but they can’t let it stop them from trying. Harris feels if they say Ava is ready, she should try, and he’s sure Tripp would say the same thing.

Tripp and Wendy kiss. Wendy talks about looking forward to this so much but admits she’s a little nervous. Tripp says he is too. Wendy suggests they’re putting too much pressure on themselves in thinking it all has to be perfect because being here with him feels so right. Wendy knows this is their first time but points out there will be other times. Wendy decides they should give up on being perfect and just be in the moment with no pressure. Tripp agrees as they continue kissing until they are interrupted by Tripp’s phone ringing. Tripp apologizes as he forgot to turn it off but sees the call is from Bayview, so Wendy says he better answer it. Tripp answers the call and says he understands, mentioning the timeframe of 7-9. Tripp thanks them and hangs up. Tripp informs Wendy that Ava told her doctors that she wants to see him and they gave her the okay. Tripp notes that he’ll have to try to figure out how to get off work tomorrow in time since he’s working a double. Wendy points out that Bayview hours are open until 9 PM tonight. Tripp says there’s no way he’s leaving now but Wendy says he should since his mom wants to see him, so he better get over there before anything changes. Tripp says he wants to but they’ve been waiting so long. Wendy assures that she’ll still be there when he gets back as she’s not going anywhere. Tripp thanks her for understanding as they kiss.

Johnny starts to tell Chanel why Wendy broke up with him but Talia comes by and asks if she’s interrupting. Johnny says they were just catching up but he has to get going. Johnny tells Chanel to hang in there and to let him know if there’s anything he can do to help. Johnny then walks away. Talia asks what Johnny meant and if there’s anything he can do about what.

Paulina calls Abe an angel. Kayla questions if Abe is sure he wants to be the Mayor again. Paulina says he sounded sure to her. Abe admits he has to agree that he has a purpose and a reason to get up in the morning, so he thinks it would help with his recovery and he would be able to help others too. Paulina agrees. Kayla cautions him as her doctor. Abe knows she thinks it’s too much, too soon, and if it is, he gives his word that he will come right back but he has to at least try to help his stepdaughter. Paulina excitedly hugs Abe and says she can’t thank him enough.

Ava informs Harris that she just spoke to her doctor, who called Tripp and now he’s on his way. Harris says that’s great. Ava says everyone thinks she’s a badass that’s not afraid of anything but she’s really shaking. Harris encourages that it will be okay. Ava thanks him for encouraging her to reach out. Harris says he has a session to get to and tells Ava that it was nice talking to her. Ava guesses she will see him around as Harris then exits. Tripp then arrives and hugs Ava.

Wendy decides to turn on the TV while she waits for Tripp.

Johnny goes to see Marlena in her office at the hospital. Marlena hugs him and welcomes him home, saying it’s great to see him. Johnny asks if she has a patient right now. Marlena says no as she was just catching up on paper work. Johnny says he had something he hoped to talk to her about. Johnny can’t believe he’s about to say this, but he thinks he might still have romantic feelings for Chanel.

Paulina tells Abe that she’s sorry for getting carried away but she’s so grateful. Paulina calls Abe a good man, who always comes through for the people he loves. Paulina thanks Abe again and says she can’t wait to tell Chanel the good news as she hurries out. Abe knows Kayla thinks he made a mistake. Kayla hopes she is wrong. Abe says that makes two of them.

Talia questions Chanel about the acting mayor being out to get her. Chanel says she has no idea. Talia asks if there’s any way she can help. Chanel doesn’t think so. Talia points out that business was going good which Chanel confirms. Chanel notes that Talia seems nervous and asks if everything is okay. Talia says she just left therapy and Marlena encouraged her to talk to her. Chanel asks what’s going on. Talia says Chanel doesn’t have to respond but she has to get it out. Talia then tells Chanel that she has romantic feelings for her and she doesn’t know if Chanel could ever return them, but asks her to let her know if she could if she wants to. Talia then decides she has to go and rushes off.

Shawn goes to the police station and informs Jada that his suspension is up today, but he doesn’t know who to talk to about coming back to work. Jada responds that she doesn’t know either because the acting Mayor hasn’t appointed a new police commissioner since firing Rafe which Shawn blames himself for.

Talia goes home to Jada’s room above the Pub after working community service. Talia complains that she’s going to need a shower, but then Rafe comes out from the shower and is surprised to see her.

Paulina sits at home watching Body and Soul. Chanel comes home and asks what Paulina is doing. Paulina invites her to watch Body and Soul with her. Chanel questions what’s going on and why she’s sitting in her robe in the middle of the day. Chanel then asks where Abe is. Paulina responds that he moved out.

Abe sits at Steve and Kayla’s as he turns on Body and Soul. Kayla comes home with food from the Pub. Kayla asks Abe if he knows who she is. Abe responds that she is Cassandra from Body and Soul.

Marlena visits Harris Michaels at Bayview. Harris says he’s fine. Marlena asks if he’s adjusting to life at Bayview. Harris says so far, so good and mentions running in to Eve Donovan which went surprisingly well as he had the chance to apologize for hurting her in the past and she accepted his apology which Marlena calls a wonderful sign of progress. Ava Vitali then appears and questions what the hell Harris is doing there. Marlena tells Ava to calm down but Ava demands to know what this son of a bitch is doing here. Harris says he’s sorry. Ava responds that she should be as she thought she got rid of him a long time ago. Harris repeats that he’s sorry and asks if he knows her. Ava questions him playing dumb and responds that he knows her just as well as she knows him.

Chanel questions Paulina about Abe moving out and explains that she stayed out late last night to give them alone time and then when she left this morning for the Bakery, she just assumed she was still in bed. Paulina responsd that she was but Abe was long gone. Chanel asks if they had a fight. Paulina says no but he was clearly uncomfortable and guesses he didn’t like when she kissed him which she did impulsively, thinking it would help him remember but all it did was disgust him. Chanel encourages that’s only because Abe doesn’t know her but as soon as he gets his memory back, he will be kissing her back. Chanel asks where Abe stayed instead. Paulina responds that he had Steve pick him up to stay with he and Kayla.

Kayla clarifies to Abe who she is. Abe recognizes her as his doctor but says she reminds him of the character on Body and Soul and apologizes for getting mixed up. Kayla understands that he has all these new faces and names so it’s like they are all these characters in a soap opera doing crazy things…

Rafe gets dressed and apologizes to Talia as he didn’t expect her back so soon. Talia explains that she came home to shower after dealing with all the trash from the White Dove Motel. Talia says Rafe and Jada using the place while she’s out is fine and asks him to just give her a heads up next time. Rafe admits that makes sense and notes that Jada just left for work while he didn’t have anywhere to be. Talia still can’t believe Rafe got fired for dating her sister. Rafe acknowledges that he was her boss and they have a policy against dating subordinates. Talia calls that a stupid policy. Rafe states that he did it and probably shouldn’t have. Talia argues that Mayor Rawlings would have never found out if it wasn’t for Shawn Brady.

Shawn asks if Jada’s not going to say anything about it being his fault that Rafe was fired. Jada asks what there is to say. Shawn guesses he was hoping she’d say she knew it wasn’t intentional and that he didn’t mean for Mayor Rawlings to hear what he said about her and Rafe. Shawn acknowledges that he was drinking and shooting his mouth off, then he tried to back pedal. Jada reminds him that Mayor Rawlings asked her and left her no choice but to admit so his back pedaling was pointless. Shawn offers to speak to the Mayor to get him to reverse the decision. Mayor Rawlings then arrives, so Jada tells him now is his chance.

Abe tells Kayla that it’s very generous of her and Steve to let him stay for awhile but he thinks he’s imposing. Kayla insists that he couldn’t impose on them if he tried. Kayla brings up all the weeks they didn’t know they would see him again and calls it a gift from God. Kayla talks about Abe knowing their whole family and calls him family, even though he doesn’t remember that. Abe says he appreciates that. Abe adds that as much as Paulina wanted him to, he knew from the moment that he went home that he couldn’t stay and that’s when he called Steve to come get him so he could stay with them for awhile. Kayla is glad they could be there for him. Abe appreciates their generosity but notes that the look on Paulina’s face made him know how much he upset her.

Chanel encourages that it’s not so bad that Abe is staying with Steve and Kayla since at least they know he’s safe. Paulina talks about Kayla telling her to just be patient which Chanel knows is hard for her. Paulina adds that Kayla said she would work with Abe to help him see that she only wants him to get better. Chanel insists that sooner or later, Abe is going to come back to her. Paulina admits that her optimism lifts her spirits, but she’s sorry that Chanel had to stay away last night for nothing. Chanel then reveals that it wasn’t all for nothing as she actually spent some time with Talia.

Rafe tells Talia that it’s not Shawn’s fault that he got fired. Talia argues that if Shawn hadn’t opened his big mouth, Mayor Rawlings would have never found out. Rafe points out that if he hadn’t been seeing Jada in the first place, there would have been nothing for the Mayor to hear. Talia complains that cops are supposed to look out for one another, not gossip about their personal lives, and says that at least Rafe told Shawn off. Rafe appreciates that Talia is on her side but says he got himself in to this mess so he has to take the blame for it.

Mayor Rawlings says he just came to see how things are going now that Rafe has been relieved from his post. Shawn says he needed to speak with him. Mayor Rawlings brings up that it was Rafe that suspended Shawn and says they have to fix that error. He remarks that he can’t believe Rafe had the gall to go after Shawn and calls it outrageous that he put Shawn’s job on the line for blowing the whistle on him.

Ava argues that Harris obviously knows who she is and that’s why he showed up here. Marlena goes to find Ava’s doctor. Harris argues that Ava is mistaking him for someone else. Ava laughs off the idea of forgetting him after all the trouble that he put her through over the years. Ava blames him for her ending up back with her family and the mob connections. Harris responds that he’s sorry that happened but introduces himself as Harris Michaels which Ava laughs at. Ava questions if that’s the best he can come up with. Harris insists that’s his name. Ava tells him not to lie to her as she knows exactly who he is. Harris then asks who she thinks he is. Ava calls him her son Charlie and questions why he keeps coming back. Ava tries to attack him until Marlena comes back with a doctor. Marlena shouts that they are only trying to help her as the doctor injects Ava with something that causes her to pass out.

Jada explains to Mayor Rawlings that Rafe didn’t suspend Shawn for telling about their relationship. Mayor Rawlings questions the timing. Shawn confirms that Jada is right and reveals that Rafe caught him drinking on the job as he was going through a rough patch, but he’s seeing a therapist and promises it will never happen again. Mayor Rawlings remarks that it seems Shawn learned his lesson but he’s afraid the same can’t be said for Rafe which is why he needs to appoint a new police commissioner immediately.

Talia guesses it’s good that Rafe is not holding a grudge. Rafe calls it too exhausting. Talia notes that Chanel said something just like that to her. Rafe questions her talking to Chanel. Talia says she ran in to her yesterday and they actually had a good time. Rafe calls that great and suggests maybe Chanel is ready to put everything behind her and they can be friends again. Talia comments on friends so Rafe asks if she was hoping for something more than that.

Paulina questions Chanel spending time with Talia. Chanel explains that she ran in to her in the town square after Talia had just come from Colin’s hearing where he was sentenced to 20 years in prison which Paulina calls some good news. Chanel talks about how Colin said some horrible things to Talia, so she tried to make her feel better as no matter what Talia did, she didn’t deserve to be abused by Colin. Chanel adds that next thing she knew, they were having dinner and she remembered why she liked Talia so much in the first place before everything went south. Chanel states that the more they talked, the more she started to feel a connection to Talia. Paulina questions if Chanel is saying she’s attracted to Talia.

Kayla tells Abe that Paulina has been through a lot the past few weeks but understands that Abe just needs some time. Abe insists that he didn’t mean to hurt her, but he knows if he stayed, she would be watching him and prompting him to try to get him to remember while hiding her hurt. Abe feels it would’ve been awful and hurt her more than him leaving. Kayla thinks he might be right. Abe adds that when Paulina kissed him, it was just strange as he knew she was his wife, but he didn’t know her. Kayla asks if he doesn’t remember her at all. Abe responds that he gets little glimpses and would see her in his dreams for a moment, but then the next minute he wouldn’t know her at all. Abe complains that everything is just so jumbled in his head and he just doesn’t know how to make any sense of it.

Talia tells Rafe that she doesn’t know if she wants to be more than friends with Chanel since she’s never been attracted to women and she only came on to Chanel because Colin was pressuring her to break her heart and she did everything he asked her to. Talia admits that when she and Chanel kissed, she actually felt something. Rafe asks if she’s not sure she wants to act on it. Talia repeats that she doesn’t know as everything right now is so confusing and after everything with Colin, she doesn’t know what’s true and what’s not. Talia suggests she should just talk to her therapist about it.

The doctor assures Marlena that he will have Ava taken back to her room. Marlena asks if Harris is alright. Harris says yes and asks if Marlena knows Ava. Marlena confirms that she does and explains that Ava has been having hallucinations about her dead son Charlie. Harris informs her that Ava thought he was Charlie. Marlena guesses something about him reminded her of Charlie and somehow triggered that episode. Harris calls it strange how Ava looked at him as it felt like she actually knew him.

Shawn suggests Mayor Rawlings just bring Rafe back as he’s a great guy, great boss, and did a lot for the city. Jada agrees and praises what’s been done since Rafe was in charge. Mayor Rawlings remarks that Jada is still under Rafe’s thumb which Jada argues against. He points out violating the city policy. Shawn states that Rafe made a mistake and that has nothing to do with his job performance. Mayor Rawlings argues that showing poor judgment has everything to do with it. He repeats that he needs to appoint a new commissioner and admits he’d be foolish not to consider an internal hire. Shawn agrees and thinks that Jada would make an excellent commissioner. Mayor Rawlings then reveals that he was actually thinking about Shawn.

Abe talks to Kayla about how one minute he knows he’s married to Paulina and the next, he pictures Whitley in a wedding dress. Abe knows Theo is his son, but he still sees Jerry and he can’t seem to get it straight. Kayla understands since he suffered a severe head injury and then Whitley kept giving him drugs to keep him prisoner while claiming strangers were his loved ones. Abe points out that Whitley is not still telling those stores or giving him drugs, so he asks if the effects are permanent and if he’s going to be like this forever.

Paulina acknowledges that Chanel was attracted to Talia before they found out what she was really up to. Chanel thought there was something there at the beginning but Talia was just putting on an act. Paulina brings up Chanel saying she felt last night like she did when she first met her. Paulina asks how Chanel really feels about Talia. Chanel then gets a call about the Bakery which shocks her.

Kayla doesn’t think Abe needs to worry about the drugs as it was mainly sedatives and nothing that would cause permanent damage. Abe still doesn’t know why Whitley would do this to him. Kayla explains that Whitley suffered severe trauma after losing her husband in a tragic accident, so she thinks Whitley had a psychotic break and Abe had severe amnesia, so it gave her the perfect opportunity to relive the life she wants. Abe states that he had no choice but to believe it was his life too since he doesn’t recognize the faces of any of his friends or family. Abe complains that all these new names and faces is just overwhelming. Kayla thinks she has a way to maybe help him.

Marlena tells Harris that she’s sorry to leave him after all that but she has to get back to the hospital. Harris understands and says he actually has a meeting with his therapist. Marlena tells him to call if he needs anything at all as she then exits.

Talia tells Rafe that she has to go shower since she has an appointment. Talia tells Rafe that it was really nice talking to him as she then goes to shower.

Chanel hangs up and informs Paulina that there was a surprise inspection from the health department at the Bakery and they failed, so they are being shut down. Chanel complains that it doesn’t make sense as she’s been so careful to follow every regulation and kept the place spotless. Paulina argues that there must be a mistake. Chanel brings up that the order came straight from the acting Mayor, who told her a few weeks ago that he was against the Bakery reopening and threatened to shut it down. Chanel worries that this is personal as Mayor Rawlings is out to get her.

Shawn questions Mayor Rawlings wanting him to be police commissioner. Mayor Rawlings asks why not and brings up that he comes from a long line of commissioners so he thinks it’s time to have a Brady back in that spot. Jada asks if he’s serious, reminding him that Shawn is just coming off a suspension. He says that’s why it’s the perfect time to accept this new position. Shawn responds that he’s sorry but he can’t accept it. Mayor Rawlings warns him that he will accept if he wants to continue working in the police department. He declares those are his terms, so Shawn can take it or leave it.

Talia meets Marlena at the hospital and hopes she’s not late. Marlena says she’s right on time. Talia mentions her community service. Marlena asks how that’s going. Talia says it’s fine. Marlena brings up knowing that Colin was sentenced yesterday. Talia confirms that she was in the court room. Marlena guesses seeing him again must have brought up a lot of feelings and asks if she wants to talk about it. Talia responds that she doesn’t want to talk about her feelings for Colin, but about her feelings for Chanel.

Paulina and Chanel go to the Bakery and finds a temporarily closed sign on it. Mayor Rawlings arrives and asks about them wanting to see him. Paulina questions the bakery being closed again. Mayor Rawlings responds that Chanel failed to follow regulations as she didn’t display the official City of Salem sticker which all businesses are required to do. Chanel argues that she wasn’t given one since they were out and said they’d be sent when restocked. Mayor Rawlings insists that no business can run without displaying the sticker. He remarks that maybe Abe was happy to look the other way at her numerous scandals, but his administration is by the book and he makes the rules now. He declares the Bakery is closed and walks away. Chanel asks Paulina now what.

Kayla presents Abe with photos of his friends to try and jog his memory. Kayla starts with Marlena, who Abe says looks very familiar and first thinks she’s a character from Body and Soul. Kayla explains that it’s Marlena, who is married to his best friend. Kayla then shows him a photo of John. Abe recalls meeting him with Steve. Kayla then shows a photo of Rafe. Abe guesses it but admits that he saw his name on the back of the photo.

Jada goes home where Rafe is watching Body and Soul. Rafe asks what she’s doing back so soon. Jada informs him that she had to come tell him about new developments at the office. Rafe guesses it must be something big. Jada suggests he brace himself.

Shawn enters the police commissioner’s office and takes his seat at the desk.

Ava returns to Harris at Bayview.

Maggie is at a hotel in Chicago. She’s on the phone with Justin, assuring that she will be home in time for Victor’s welcome home dinner and that Alex is invited. Maggie mentions that she’s just in Chicago for a brief visit with Sarah. Maggie says to remind Cook to prepare all of Victor’s favorites and tells Justin that she will see him later as she then hangs up. Sarah then comes home with a bag of groceries covering her stomach, surprised to find Maggie inside and questions what she’s doing there. Maggie informs her that the doorman let her in. Sarah wishes she knew she was coming. Maggie apologizes for surprising her but guesses that makes them even since Sarah has been hiding something from her. Maggie thinks it’s time that Sarah comes clean.

Xander proposes to Chloe but she tells him to get up and questions what he’s doing. Chloe asks if this is a joke. Xander insists that it’s a real proposal but Chloe says not until he convinces her that this has nothing to do with Gwen.

Gwen knocks on Leo’s door at the Salem Inn and says she wanted to say goodbye before she leaves for her honeymoon. Leo is naked in bed with Dimitri and they start to panic. Dimitri tells Leo not to open it and that she’ll go away, but Gwen continues knocking and says she’s not going away.

Nicole goes home and thinks back to Eric informing her that he was proposing to Sloan. EJ then enters the room and greets her. EJ comments that she was obviously deep in thought and asks what’s on her mind. Nicole admits that it’s Eric.

Sloan asks Melinda again if she won’t say anything to anyone. Melinda tells Sloan that her secret is safe with her right as Eric comes home and asks if he’s interrupting. Melinda says she has to get to the office and tells Eric that it was nice seeing him. Melinda tells Sloan that she will talk to her soon. Eric stops them and suggests they tell him what secret they were talking about first. Sloan starts to respond but Melinda tells her to just tell him the truth.

EJ questions Nicole thinking about Eric. Nicole explains that she saw Eric in the town square when she was having breakfast with Chloe and they got to see the very lovely engagement ring he picked out for Sloan as he’s apparently going to propose. EJ guesses that must have been a surprise. Nicole admits it makes sense since they are having a baby together.

Sarah questions what Maggie wants her to come clean about. Maggie tells Sarah that she’s been waiting for her to open up about this ever since Bonnie told her. Maggie knows Sarah swore Bonnie to secrecy but says it’s not like her to keep a secret from her, especially big news like this. Maggie then asks if Sarah was ever going to tell her that she’s involved with Rex again and if she thought she was never going to find out. Sarah then gets a look of relief and stops herself from moving the grocery bag covering her stomach. Sarah then claims she learned her lesson that there’s no keeping anything from Maggie.

Xander questions why Chloe would think this is about Gwen. Chloe argues that when she left this morning, Xander was reading the article about Gwen’s wedding. Xander asks if Chloe thinks that’s why he proposed to her and denies that, mentioning that he just ran in to Gwen and he wished her the best. Chloe says it’s still really fast as they’ve only been together for 3 months. Xander insists that he’s fallen deeply in love with her, so he doesn’t care if Gwen marries Dimitri or Sarah goes back to Rex. Chloe stops and questions where he heard that Sarah and Rex were back together. Xander explains that Maggie told him when he went to see her earlier as she said she was going to Chicago to see Sarah. Chloe then questions if that was before or after he bought the ring. Chloe says he might be able to convince her that the proposal had nothing to do with Gwen, but Sarah is a different story.

Leo answers the door and tries to not let Gwen in but shes pushes her way in anyway. Gwen looks around and sees the room trashed which she questions. Leo claims that’s why he didn’t want to let her in and says that since she abandoned him, he had no one to keep it clean for. Gwen argues that she might not live there anymore but she would never abandon him. Gwen says she will only be gone a couple weeks and she had to come back to get one last hug from her best friend. Gwen is grateful that Leo told Dimitri about her wanting to go to Iceland. Gwen wishes that the three of them could all be great friends one day. Gwen then hears a sound from the bathroom which Leo claims to not hear. Gwen calls him a liar and accuses him of hiding somebody, adding that she knows exactly who it is.

Xander swears to Chloe that this has nothing to do with Sarah. Chloe points out that he was just talking to Maggie about Sarah. Xander says he was talking to Maggie about Victor and the Sarah stuff was just a side bar. Xander adds that he told Maggie that he’s happy Sarah has moved on because he has too. Chloe questions if putting a ring on her finger is proving that to the women he’s loved in the past. Xander says that would be a lousy thing to do to her. Chloe doesn’t think he’s doing it consciously but argues that all of this is really sudden, so she has a hard time believing it doesn’t have anything to do with Sarah. Xander then tells Chloe to forget what he said as this has everything to do with Sarah.

Maggie tells Sarah that she doesn’t expect her to tell her every detail of her life, but getting back with Rex is not exactly small. Sarah brings up that Maggie is not Rex’s biggest fan which she admits as Maggie hates that Rex cheated on her more than once. Maggie feels there is something that Sarah isn’t telling her. Maggie asks how they can have a decent conversation when Sarah is holding a bag of groceries. Maggie asks her to put the bag down so they can sit and she can tell her how serious this is with Rex. Sarah hesitates but then puts the bag down and turns back to Maggie, revealing her pregnant stomach. Maggie then realizes it is that serious.

Sloan agrees with Melinda that there is no point in trying to hide this any longer. Sloan starts to speak but Melinda interrupts and claims it was that Sloan shouldn’t have met with the judge behind her back and she came over to blow her out of the water, but they hashed it out and agreed no one else needs to know except now Eric does. Melinda states that Sloan bent the rules but understands she did it for her brother. Melinda adds that Sloan has so much to look forward to with being pregnant, so she’s willing to look the other way. Eric questions that being what they were discussing and assures he’s not angry as he thanks Melinda for keeping it from coming out.

EJ asks Nicole if Eric is going to marry the woman that is carrying his child. Nicole points out that she has to say yes first and assures that she will and that Eric will want to do the right thing by getting married. Nicole insists that she’s not upset at all because she’s not invested in Eric’s life, she’s invested in her and EJ. Nicole adds that she loves EJ, he is the father of her child and he is the man that she wants to be with. EJ then asks if she wants to be with him enough to say yes if he asked her to marry him right now.

Eric thanks Melinda for being so understanding. Melinda apologizes if their little mystery caught him off guard. Melinda says she should get going, so Sloan walks her out. Sloan thanks Melinda for saving her. Melinda says he doesn’t want to ruin her life and feels like they are becoming friends and friends have each others’ back. Melinda gives Sloan her word that Eric won’t hear from her that he is also the father of Nicole’s baby. Sloan agrees that she totally owes her. Melinda states that maybe she’ll need a favor in return one day as she then walks away. Sloan then heads back inside where Eric is down on one knee with a ring.

Nicole questions EJ bringing up marriage. EJ asks why she’s surprised since it’s not the first time. Nicole complains that last time EJ proposed to upstage Stefan and Gabi while now he brings it up after she tells him that Eric is going to propose to Sloan. EJ understands her thinking this is a spur of the moment reaction to that. EJ then goes to his desk drawer and pulls out a ring, revealing that he’s been holding on to it for quite some time, waiting for the right moment to give it to her. EJ declares that moment is now, thanks to her with what she just said. EJ said it’s all true for him too that he’s invested in their life together and he loves her too. EJ calls her the mother of his child and without question the one he wants to be with forever. EJ says it seems like she feels the same unless he misunderstood.

Gwen says now she knows why Leo didn’t want her to come in and it has nothing to do with the room being a mess. Gwen goes and knocks on the bathroom door and says he can come out now. Gwen brings up how she saw Leo sexting with “MP” which he said was Matthew Perry and says she wants to meet the man that Leo is so enamored by. Leo tells Gwen that he’s not coming out. Gwen asks what the big deal is and questions what is going on.

Xander tells Chloe that this proposal is about Sarah and Gwen, but not in the way she thinks. Xander explains that Gwen married a Euro trash tosser who tried to blow up the world while Sarah is now back with a jerk who couldn’t stop cheating on her, but they are happy and he doesn’t begrudge them that because he wants to be happy too and he wants Chloe to be happy. Xander thinks they can be happy together. Chloe points out that they already are happy. Xander wants to commit to her and insists he’s not trying to compete or prove anything to anyone. Xander asks Chloe to think about it as they could get their own house with a yard for the kids which Chloe questions.

Maggie is shocked to see Sarah is very pregnant and questions why she didn’t tell her and if she thought she wouldn’t be happy for her. Sarah says it’s not that. Maggie argues that it’s one thing to not tell her they were dating again but to lie all this time about a pregnancy. Sarah argues that she didn’t lie but Maggie calls it a lie of omission. Maggie points out that it looks like she got pregnant right after leaving Salem. Sarah admits it was before she left Salem and claims it was the one night that she and Rex hooked up around Valentine’s Day. Maggie questions what possible reason she could have to hide this from her all this time. Maggie then guesses that the baby is not Rex’s. Sarah asks what she is talking about. Maggie points out that Rex wasn’t the only person she slept with before leaving Salem and that’s why she didn’t tell her, because the baby she’s carrying is Xander’s. Sarah tries to laugh it off and says it’s not helpful for her to hear that. Maggie argues that she can’t even look her in the eye and they both know why. Sarah then breaks down and admits it’s true that the baby is Xander’s. Sarah tells Maggie that she can never tell him.

Chloe had no idea that Xander wanted to be a father. Xander says of course he does and the sooner, the better. Chloe points out that they’ve talked about everything over the past few months and he never mentioned wanting children. Xander brings up how he helped raise Rachel and he was a good dad, so he misses it. Xander says when he hears Chloe on the phone with her son Parker, he imagines what it might be like for them. Xander insists that he wants children of his own but not with just anyone, with Chloe, and that’s why and what he is proposing. Xander says it’s not just a marriage, but a life and a family. Xander tells Chloe that he has fallen madly in love with her and he can’t imagine his life without her in it.

Leo tells Gwen that “MP” is not coming out because he doesn’t want her to see him. Gwen asks why not. Leo then says because he’s a married man and his wife doesn’t know about them. Leo acknowledges that he went there again but says they are mad for each other and calls himself a terrible person and a monster. Gwen encourages that if the man is mad for him then his marriage obviously isn’t working so he wouldn’t be responsible if the marriage ends. Gwen calls Leo one of the best people she knows and she doesn’t care what anyone else says. Gwen declares that if this man makes him happy, that’s all that matters because he deserves happiness. Gwen adds how long she’s waited for happiness and now she has it. Gwen says she has to get back to Dimitri and finish packing. Gwen tells Leo that she will miss him so much as they hug. Gwen then exits the room. Dimitri comes out from the bathroom and complains that was close. Leo brings up what Gwen said. Dimitri agrees that Leo deserves happiness and kisses him. Leo questions how he will get through a few weeks without him. Dimitri tells Leo to go check his e-mail, so he does and is shocked by what he finds.

Nicole questions EJ buying a ring for her and holding onto it. EJ repeats that he knew the perfect moment would come along.

Sloan questions if Eric proposing is for real. Eric acknowledges that she wasn’t crazy about his last attempt, so he wanted to get it right this time.

EJ knows Nicole was underwhelmed by his last proposal, so he wasn’t about to make the same mistake twice. EJ reveals that he bought the ring when they found out she could carry the baby to term.

Eric brings up that Sloan said she wanted a real traditional proposal, so here he is and he can tell she didn’t see it coming.

EJ states that Nicole may be surprised, but he’s been counting the minutes until he could put the ring on her finger as he wants them to be one when their child is born.

Eric explains that Sloan said she would get married when she was asked by a man who was as deeply in love with her as she was with him.

EJ says he and Nicole have told each other how they feel, so now he gets down on one knee.

Eric guesses there’s only one thing left to say.

EJ tells Nicole there is only one thing left to say.

Eric asks Sloan to marry him.

EJ asks Nicole to marry him.

Eric starts to worry at Sloan’s hesitation and complains that he didn’t think this through but Sloan kisses him and says yes.

Nicole tells EJ that he doesn’t have to get down on one knee since they’ve done this before. EJ feels their history makes it all the more significant and asks what are the odds they would end up here, so happy and very blessed. Nicole calls it a miracle. EJ feels the universe is giving them another chance to get things right with their child and he wants to celebrate that by announcing their love and commitment to each other and their child to the world. EJ asks her to allow him to do that by placing the ring on her finger.

Melinda sits in the town square and starts to text Sloan but decides she’s got it. Melinda gets up to walk away but sees Gwen walking through. Melinda greets her and says she just read about her wedding and congratulates her. Gwen thanks her. Melinda brings up her husband having an interesting track record. Gwen calls Dimitri a wonderful man. Melinda remarks that she looks forward to trying them jointly for the crimes they will inevitably commit. Gwen responds that not even Melinda can spoil her day as in just a few short hours, she’s heading to Iceland for the trip of a lifetime. Gwen then walks away.

Leo is shocked that Dimitri got him a plane ticket to Iceland with a hotel reservation. Leo worries about Iceland being a small country and says he can’t crash his honeymoon. Dimitri kisses him and says he’s sorry but they both know he’s coming. Dimitri tells Leo to pack a sweater or else they can rely on body heat as he then exits the room. Leo flops onto his bed and screams into a pillow.

Chloe tells Xander to forgive her as she didn’t expect to come home to him waving an engagement ring around. Xander argues that he wouldn’t have to wave it around if she would just give him her finger. Chloe responds that she’s sorry but it feels like just yesterday, they were roommates and now they are talking about marriage and babies. Xander points out that they’ve been more than roommates for awhile now and he can’t help but think fate had a hand in it. Xander explains how they weren’t looking for each other but somehow the stars aligned and they may be the most unlikely couple ever who would have never gotten together in normal circumstances which makes him believe they are meant to be because they work just by being themselves. Xander declares that may be the best way to find love with no illusions, just the real thing, as they kiss. Xander remarks that it felt like a yes to him but Chloe responds that she’s afraid it’s not.

Maggie questions Sarah not telling Xander about the baby and thinking he’ll never find out. Maggie reminds Sarah that she did this with Eric and it ended in disaster. Sarah argues that this is different and complains that Xander is a criminal who kidnapped Bonnie and Susan which led to Susan’s death. Sarah insists that Xander is still the same amoral, untrustworthy and dangerous person which is why she divorced him, because he will never change. Maggie points out that now there is the baby to consider. Sarah declares that it doesn’t matter what Xander says, does, or promises because it’s always just a matter of time before he ends up in a dark scheme like kidnapping or blackmail. Sarah adds that it’s one thing to lie to her, hurt her, and break her heart, but this is her innocent child at risk. Maggie says she understands, but the child is as much Xander’s as Sarah’s and he deserves to know. Sarah says absolutely not because if Xander knows, then he will insist on being part of the child’s life and that can never happen. Sarah pleads with Maggie to say she won’t tell him.

Xander questions Chloe really saying no. Chloe admits the proposal was beautiful and sincere but she needs time and thinks Xander needs time to figure out his feelings for Sarah going forward. Xander understands she needs time, but assures he doesn’t. Chloe thinks it’s the wise thing to do. Xander can’t imagine a single thing could change his mind about her.

Sarah argues that Maggie knows she’s right that letting Xander be part of the child’s life would be a huge mistake. Sarah knows Maggie cares about Xander but this is about her grandchild’s safety. Maggie says she worries about Sarah because this plan basically means that she can never come back to Salem. Maggie questions when she’s going to see her then. Sarah responds that she can come here anytime. Maggie asks if Sarah wants to live in Chicago. Sarah insists that she will make it work. Maggie questions Rex being her pretend boyfriend. Sarah confirms they are just friends. Maggie asks how Rex feels about all of this. Sarah responds that Rex is amazing and understands that she has to do this her way, so he has promised to keep her secret which she noticed Maggie has not yet. Maggie brings up that she spoke to Xander before she left and told him that she got back with Rex. Sarah asks if he lost his mind. Maggie says he was actually very happy for her as it seems Xander has finally moved on with Chloe. Sarah mentions that Bonnie told her that. Maggie declares that it won’t matter as if Xander finds out about the baby, all bets are off. Maggie decides she will not be the one to tell him as that should be Sarah.

Gwen goes home to Dimitri in their room at the DiMera Mansion. Gwen asks where he’s been since she thought he’d be packing for the honeymoon as they kiss. Dimitri says it won’t take long and they will soon be off to paradise. Gwen comments that it will be just the two of them and she can’t wait as they continue kissing. Gwen jokes that Dimitri is in for more sex than he can possibly imagine. Dimitri remarks that it sounds like his kind of trip.

Leo looks at his e-mail and sees it is a first class ticket, noting that the hotel does have a champagne bubble bath. Leo then brings up Gwen saying he’s the best person she knows, so he must do the right thing, delete the e-mail, and forget Dimitri ever sent it. Leo then puts his phone down and decides he may not be a good person as he begins to pack a bag.

Eric and Sloan lay in bed as Eric then puts the ring on Sloan’s finger and they kiss.

Nicole says yes to EJ’s proposal, declaring that she would be very honored to be his wife as they kiss.

Chloe complains to Xander at home about being late to meet Nicole and mentions having a meeting later but she thinks she will do it from home, so she won’t be coming in to the office today and asks Xander if that’s okay, but notes Xander is distracted looking at his tablet. Chloe questions what he’s looking at that has his attention. Xander responds that Gwen actually went through with marrying Dimitri.

Dimitri wakes up in bed alone. Dimitri looks at the wedding ring on his hand and remarks that it wasn’t a dream as Gwen enters the room with a cupcake to wish Dimitri a happy birthday.

Eric brings Sloan breakfast in bed which she says is so sweet as they kiss. Eric says he wanted to make sure her and their baby are well fed. Eric asks if she has a busy morning. Sloan says she doesn’t think so but she can check her messages. Sloan sees that Melinda Trask called last night, so she guesses that Melinda probably wants to tell her about her date with Li Shin.

Wendy comes out from her room and sees Li on the couch with his laptop. Wendy comments that Li looks like someone just slapped him and questions his expression. Li responds that Gabi and Stefan got married last night. Wendy asks if he wants to talk about it. Li says no. Wendy jokes about him not going to do anything crazy like hire a hitman and says she’s just teasing him. Li questions what she’s doing here anyway since her text said that she and Tripp got a room at the Salem Inn, so he thought they were finally enjoying their big romantic evening. Wendy responds that it was the plan, but things took an unexpected turn…

At the Salem Inn, Tripp wakes up in bed with Leo.

Wendy explains to Li that she came home last night while Tripp stayed at the hotel. Li questions why and if they got in a fight. Wendy says they were actually having a great time as Tripp ordered room service and it was all very romantic at first until Leo Stark came home and they realized they were in Leo’s room.

Tripp gets out of bed and questions what the hell Leo is doing in his bed when he’s supposed to be in the other bed. Leo responds that he got sad and lonely and wanted to be next to another human being, so he crawled up under the covers. Leo promises it was totally innocent and asks Tripp not to be mad. Tripp responds that he’s not mad, just freaked out. Leo asks Tripp to stop talking because his head is pounding. Tripp gives Leo a water, noting he’ll need it after all the drinking he did last night. Leo complains of being a drama queen. Tripp remarks that he gets that Leo was upset about his boyfriend, causing Leo to spit out his water and question that.

Dimitri tells Gwen that this is a nice surprise. Gwen tells him to make a wish. Dimitri closes his eyes and dreams of his inheritance getting amended so that he could marry Leo. Dimitri then blows out his candle. Gwen asks what he wished for but Dimitri says he can’t tell her or it won’t come true.

Li questions why Leo had a key to the room Wendy and Tripp were in. Wendy reveals that it turned out to actually be Leo’s room as she flashes back to Leo complaining that they stole his room and remarking that he just watched his best friend marry his boyfriend.

Gwen questions Dimitri not telling her what he wished for. Dimitri insists it won’t come true. Gwen feels as husband and wife, they can’t keep secrets from each other. Dimitri responds that he’s sorry but he doesn’t make the rules. Gwen says at least one of his wishes came true as he got married before his 40th birthday. Dimitri thanks her and says not everyone would be understanding about that rush and that was important to him. Gwen admits it was bonkers but she thinks everything turned out brilliantly. Dimitri asks if she really didn’t mind having to share her special day with Gabi and Stefan. Gwen says she barely even noticed them because her eyes were on Dimitri the whole time. Dimitri says he felt the same way about his beautiful bride. Gwen then tells Dimitri that it’s time for his birthday present as she climbs on top of him and gets under the covers.

Xander goes to the Kiriakis Mansion and tells Maggie that it’s always nice to see her but he feels this might be a waste of time as he assumes she called him over to try and talk him in to working for her again but he’s perfectly happy at the Spectator. Maggie informs him that is not why she asked him over, but it has to do with his uncle Victor. Maggie thinks he and Victor should try to make amends. Maggie knows how difficult Victor can be but says he can also be soft-hearted when it comes to family and she knows it bothers him that they are estranged. Maggie insists that Victor loves him but Xander says he has a funny way of showing it as he belittles him at every opportunity and makes him feel worthless. Maggie brings up that Victor got upset because Xander walked away from the family. Xander argues that Victor practically shoved him out the door. Maggie says the point is that Victor isn’t getting any younger and his health isn’t what it used to be, so she thinks they should try to reconcile before it’s too late.

Chloe meets Nicole for breakfast in the town square. Chloe comments on how Nicole must have been relieved to get her test results back. Nicole confirms that she was, not that she thought there was any genetic problems, but calls it one less thing to worry about. Chloe tells Nicole to relax and just enjoy being pregnant since there’s no major complications. Chloe encourages that the sacrifices will be worth it in the end. Nicole then reveals that Eric and Sloan are having a baby too which surprises Chloe. Nicole wonders if they got their testing back too and calls Sloan a viper that’s only having a baby to hold on to Eric. Chloe doesn’t see why Nicole should care since she’s having EJ’s baby and has moved on from Eric.

Eric tells Sloan that he’ll be right back and asks if she needs anything before he leaves. Sloan asks for a goodbye kiss which Eric is happy to give her. Eric then leaves right as Melinda arrives. Sloan calls it a surprise. Melinda questions her not getting her message. Sloan says she was just about to check her messages and asks if it’s about Li or Colin. Melinda says no as she just wanted to finish their conversation from yesterday because before Eric called, she was about to tell her some big secret. Sloan claims it wasn’t important. Melinda argues that it sounded important to her and reminds Sloan that she said it was about Nicole. Melinda calls it a coincidence that she just ran in to Nicole in the town square. Melinda remarks that they had a very interesting conversation that made her wonder if Sloan’s secret had anything to do with the father of Nicole’s baby. Sloan claims to have no idea what she’s talking about. Melinda explains that Sloan helped Nicole find out the paternity of her baby which she calls awfully generous of her. Sloan points out that she obviously has a vested interest. Melinda questions Sloan volunteering to get a swab of Eric’s DNA. Sloan claims that it turned out to not be a match. Melinda brings up EJ never getting tested which Sloan says wasn’t necessary. Melinda then brings up Sloan somehow ending up with Nicole’s test results. Sloan claims it was just a mix-up. Melinda asks if that’s what really happened. Sloan asks what she is getting at. Melinda feels that she was given a bunch of pieces of the puzzle and now thinks she has figured out her secret. Melinda then asks Sloan if Eric is the father of Nicole’s baby.

Chloe asks Nicole if she is over Eric. Nicole then gets a call from her half brother Brandon and says he’s going to want an update on Abe, so she steps away to answer it. Eric then walks through the town square and greets Chloe. Chloe congratulates Eric as she hears he and Sloan are having a baby which he confirms. Chloe comments on Eric having a bag from the jewelry store, so Eric decides to ask for Chloe’s opinion. Eric then reveals an engagement ring as he plans to propose to Sloan. Nicole then comes back and questions him.

Xander tells Maggie that he doesn’t know as he’s been doing just fine without Victor in his life. Maggie argues that Victor needs him though and points out that he doesn’t have a lot of family in his life since he’s not on good terms with Brady, Shawn, or Alex. Xander asks who’s fault that is. Maggie pleads with Xander since Victor has been in very low spirits lately, so she thinks it would help if he offered him an olive branch. Xander reluctantly agrees and says he’s only doing it for Maggie because he hates to see her worry. Xander says he’ll get it over with and assumes Victor is upstairs but Maggie reveals that Victor had left to visit Bo. Xander asks if there’s been any change in Bo’s condition. Maggie says no and that Bo is still in a coma which she thinks has a lot to do with why Victor has been so low. Xander promises to stop by as soon as Victor gets back. Xander invites Maggie out for breakfast but Maggie says she’ll take a rain check because she’s going to Chicago to see Sarah. Xander asks if there’s any particular reason. Maggie explains that she thinks it’s time they got everything out in the open about the fact that Sarah is in a relationship with Rex Brady, surprising Xander.

Dimitri tells Gwen that this was the best birthday gift ever but imagines being with Leo. Gwen stops and asks if something is wrong. Dimitri claims he was just overwhelmed with pleasure as they then continue kissing.

Leo tells Tripp that he knows it’s hard to believe but he doesn’t have a boyfriend. Tripp then reveals that Leo told him all about him last night. Leo asks what exactly he said. Tripp flashes back to the night before where Leo asked Tripp and Wendy not to abandon him because he didn’t want to be alone and Tripp decided that he would feel terrible if anything happened because Leo was so wasted, so he agreed to stay while Wendy went home. Leo claims since he was drunk, he didn’t know what he was saying. Tripp brings up that Leo was pretty adamant that Dimitri was his boyfriend, so he questions if they have been messing around behind his cousin Gwen’s back. Leo tells him not to be ridiculous and that he’s just always had a crush on Dimitri so in his mind, he was his boyfriend. Leo says he just has a vivid imagination and insists there couldn’t possibly be anything going on between he and Dimitri since he’s straight and only has eyes with Gwen. Tripp then questions Leo saying that Dimitri has a magic penis. Leo claims that’s just part of his fantasy. Leo talks about always falling for hot straight men but none of his fantasies ever come true. Leo thanks Tripp for staying with him and taking care of him, especially since he ruined his night with Wendy.

Li tells Wendy that he’s sorry her big romantic evening got ruined and adds that his was too. Wendy thought he was all excited about his night with Melinda. Li responds that he was but then Wendy got in his head with all her talk about how Melinda might have been playing him, so he immediately made up an excuse and left. Wendy reminds Li that if he didn’t brainwash Harris to kill Stefan, then he had nothing to worry about. Li argues that Melinda is a shark so he wouldn’t put it past her to set him up somehow. Wendy doubts that she would go that far but decides it’s best he stop seeing her because she doubts he could ever trust her. Wendy adds that it doesn’t mean he should give up on love as she knows there is someone out there who is perfect for him, who doesn’t want to put him behind bars.

Sloan argues to Melinda that Eric is not the father of Nicole’s baby and EJ is which the paternity test proved. Melinda points out the test was based on the swab that Sloan supposedly took of Eric’s DNA and she had a vested interest in Eric not being the father. Sloan complains that Melinda is making pretty huge assumptions. Melinda talks about how genetic testing was the one thing that could prove the paternity test wrong and Sloan just happened to get her hands on the test results first. Melinda doesn’t think that was a coincidence. Melinda reminds Sloan again that before they were interrupted yesterday, she was about to share a really big secret with her so she might as well just tell her now. Sloan then gives in and admits that Melinda is right, she’s not the only woman carrying Eric’s baby as Nicole is too.

Nicole questions Eric proposing to Sloan. Eric confirms that it seemed like the right thing to do since they are having a child together. Eric decides he better get going. Chloe says it was good to see him and congratulates Eric again. Chloe wishes him luck with the proposal as it’s a really beautiful ring. Nicole wishes him luck as well as Eric then walks off. Chloe asks Nicole if she’s okay. Nicole claims she is but wishes she could have a mimosa now.

Xander questions Maggie about Sarah dating Rex. Maggie explains that Bonnie found out when she went to Chicago that they’ve apparently been involved for some time but Sarah has not mentioned it to her. Xander wonders why that is. Maggie says that Bonnie thinks she would disapprove. Xander brings up that not long ago, Bonnie was insisting to him that Sarah and Rex weren’t together. Maggie guesses that Bonnie might have not wanted to hurt his feelings, then realizes she should’ve thought of that too and apologizes. Xander says it’s okay and assures that he’s happy that Sarah has moved on because he has too. Maggie asks if things are going well with he and Chloe then. Xander confirms they are going very well and getting pretty serious. Maggie says she’s glad and that she should get going. Xander hopes she has a nice visit with Sarah. Maggie admits she will be very interested in what her daughter has to say for herself.

After Tripp leaves, Dimitri goes to see Leo. Leo says he didn’t expect to see him today as he figured he’d be enjoying life as a newlywed. Dimitri says Gwen had an errand to run, so he decided to come check on him as he seemed gloomy yesterday. Leo talks about seeing Dimitri and Gwen as a happy married couple and he admits he felt jealous, guilty, sad, and gloomy. Leo remarks that now he knows how Abigail felt with split personalities. Dimitri tells Leo that he’s sorry but he was thinking about him all night and this morning as he missed him terribly as they then kiss.

Xander goes to the Brady Pub and runs in to Gwen outside. Xander congratulates her on tying the knot. Gwen thanks him and says it’s good that she bumped in to him because she was on her way to the office to tell him that she and her husband will be taking time off for their honeymoon to Iceland. Xander calls that fantastic as he knows she always wanted to go there. Xander hopes she has a wonderful trip. Gwen questions Xander being strangely encouraging of this when he was against her marrying Dimitri. Xander assures that he still doesn’t trust Dimitri but he just wants her to be happy. Gwen insists that she’s happier than she ever thought she could be. Xander is happy to hear it and thinks it’s great that everyone is finally moving on with their lives.

Chloe notes that Nicole seems really upset. Nicole argues that she’s just shell shocked even though she should’ve seen this coming. Chloe reminds Nicole that she, EJ, and her baby are going to be a family as well unless she doesn’t want that. Nicole insists that she does and that she is over Eric, but it’s just weird to see Eric starting a life with someone else, especially someone who is so wrong for him. Nicole then declares that she knows she’s in love with EJ and whatever Eric and Sloan do is of no concern to her.

Sloan reminds Melinda that her family had been decimated and all she had was Eric, so she did not want to lose him, so she swabbed her own cheek instead of Eric’s. Melinda asks how she knows for sure that Eric is the father. Sloan explains that the genetic testing was very clear that EJ was not a match which means Eric is. Melinda questions Sloan keeping this a secret. Sloan knows it seems awful and she feels terrible about keeping Eric from his other child, which is partly why she suggested getting pregnant. Melinda asks why not just tell Eric now since they are both pregnant and on a level playing field. Sloan disagree that it’s level if Eric finds out what she did. Sloan worries that if Eric does find out, she knows he will go back to Nicole which is why he cannot find out. Sloan then asks Melinda if she will use this against her now that she knows the truth.

Tripp goes home with flowers for Wendy. Wendy says she was wondering what happened to him. Tripp apologizes that things didn’t go the way they planned last night. Wendy thanks him and admires that he stuck around to comfort Leo. Wendy asks how Leo was this morning. Tripp guesses he was better but wickedly hungover. Tripp wishes he woke up with Wendy in his bed instead of Leo. Tripp explains that Leo was just lonely and freaked out but that’s enough about Leo as he just wants Wendy to know that he is still determined to give her the romantic night she deserves. Tripp promises that next time there will be no interruption as they kiss.

Leo and Dimitri lay in bed together. Leo wishes him a happy birthday and apologizes for not having time to get him a gift. Dimitri responds that just being there with him is gift enough. Leo jokes about when his birthday comes around. Leo worries about keeping this secret for an entire year from Gwen. Dimitri tells him not to worry and assures that they will make this work. Gwen then knocks at the door.

Xander goes home and asks Chloe how Nicole is. Chloe says she’s okay but just found out that Eric is having a baby with Sloan and she’s not too thrilled about it. Xander is surprised to learn that Eric knocked up Sloan and jokes that for an ex-priest, he really gets around. Chloe then reveals that they also found out that Eric is going to propose to Sloan. Xander calls that a crazy coincidence and says it must be something in the air which Chloe questions. Xander then gets down on one knee and proposes to Chloe.

Nicole goes home and thinks back to the last time Eric proposed to her.

Melinda tells Sloan to relax as she’s not going to use the secret against her. Sloan hopes not because she shouldn’t have opened up to anybody about it, but she had to get it off her chest. Melinda understands and apologizes if she came on strong but she gets a thrill out of solving mysteries. Melinda admits that she has enjoyed getting to know Sloan and feels they are becoming friends which she doesn’t have many of, so she wouldn’t do anything to jeopardize that. Sloan asks again if she won’t say anything to anyone. Melinda tells Sloan that her secret is safe with her right as Eric comes home.

Eric hugs Sloan and apologizes if he came off like he was attacking her for opening Nicole’s test results. Sloan tells him it’s okay and she understands. Eric tells Sloan that what’s important is the baby. Sloan brings up Roman saying they were toasting to the new baby at the Pub, but says she could tell by the look in his eyes that Roman wasn’t that happy about his son having a baby with the town pariah. Sloan tells Eric to just admit that his dad still hates her.

Kate joins Roman at the bar of the Brady Pub and encourages him about getting to welcome a new grandchild in to the family. Kate thought Roman was getting over his disappointment that Eric is having the baby with Sloan but Roman says he’s not quite there. Roman assures that he’s very happy for Eric but he just wishes he hadn’t chosen Sloan Peterson to be the baby’s mom.

Nicole walks through the town square until Melinda rushes by and crashes in to her, causing Nicole to drop food and drink.

Marlena escorts Harris Michaels on a tour of Bayview and asks how he’s feeling. Harris admits he’s a little nervous. Marlena thinks he will feel better when his treatments begin. Harris thanks her again for getting him admitted. Marlena is sorry that it took so long as they were short staffed. Harris is grateful to get the help he needs and hopefully make sure he never hurts anybody again. Someone seemingly watches them from behind a plant in the room.

Chad goes to the DiMera Mansion with a gift box. EJ guesses it’s a wedding gift for Stefan and Gabi or for Dimitri and Gwen but Chad says he wouldn’t buy either couple a roll of toilet paper, so EJ asks who it’s for. Chad reveals it’s for EJ. EJ questions why. Chad tells him to just shut up and open it. EJ opens it to find a pack of Cuban cigars which Chad calls customary for new fathers. EJ calls it old fashioned but appreciated. Chad congratulates EJ and they hug as EJ thanks him and says his kindness means the world to him. Chad asks how Nicole is doing. EJ responds that she’s doing great and that their specialist is confident they are doing great, so they expect a healthy delivery. EJ asks Chad how things are going for him and Stephanie. Chad responds that it would be going a lot better if Alex Kiriakis would leave them the hell alone.

Alex shows up at Stephanie’s door with a bag of Chinese food, saying he ordered too much and offers it to her. Stephanie asks why he doesn’t just keep it in the fridge until tomorrow. Alex responds that he wants her and Chad to have it as it’s from the same place they ordered from last time and it’s the least he can do for them letting him tag along to the Pub after his horrible date with Melinda. Alex asks if he can come in which Stephanie allows. Alex asks where Chad is. Stephanie informs him that he went to see his brother. Alex asks if Stephanie wants to eat now or if she already ate dinner. Stephanie responds that she’d rather wait for Chad. Alex asks if she minds if he waits with her which Stephanie allows. Alex then brings up that he didn’t tell her why his date with Melinda went south and states that it was because of Stephanie.

Melinda apologizes to Nicole for not seeing her. Nicole complains that fried pickles and a milkshake are all she wanted since she got pregnant. Melinda thinks back to when Sloan was going to tell her something about Nicole. Melinda then offers to get Nicole a replacement which she accepts, so Melinda heads back to the diner.

Eric insists to Sloan that Roman doesn’t hate her but admits that he wasn’t happy that they are still together. Eric assures that Roman will come around and see how happy she makes him, then he will realize what a wonderful person she is. Sloan remains unsure but she hopes that Roman notices that she’s a different person now and that she’s changed. Sloan notes that Eric’s relatives will be the only family their baby has. Eric promises the baby will have lots of love from family and refers to it as Baby Brady. Sloan then questions what makes him think that their baby is taking his last name.

Marlena tells Harris that she will leave him to get settled and that she’s only a phone call away if he needs anything. Marlena calls this a very brave decision that he’s made. Harris thanks her again for all her help as Marlena then exits. Eve Donovan then appears in the room and calls out to Harris.

Chad explains to EJ about how Alex moved in right across the hall from them and he’s showing up without a shirt on at all hours of the night and always needs Stephanie’s help with a crisis. Chad swears that Alex acts oblivious to the fact that he’s an annoying pain in the ass when he’s really a devious son of a bitch who will come up with any reason to intrude on their privacy. EJ remarks that it sounds like he’s utterly shameless. Chad complains that they can’t get away from him. EJ decides he needs to stop being tactful and polite because that’s not working. Chad asks what to do and how they get him out of their apartment and their lives. EJ responds that in his experience, the only thing that works is to be brutally honest. EJ instructs Chad to put Alex on notice or else he’s going to lose the woman he loves.

Stephanie grabs beers for her and Alex as she questions his date with Melinda going south because he wouldn’t stop talking about her. Alex insists that it’s not as pathetic as it sounds and that he was just trying to explain how losing Stephanie led to his epiphany that he has to treat women with more respect. Stephanie advises Alex that talking endlessly about an ex on a first date is not exactly respectful. Alex complains that he still has a lot to learn. Stephanie acknowledges his effort and tells him that he’s got this.

Eric asks Sloan why the baby wouldn’t take his last name when he’s the father. Sloan asks what if she wants them to be a Peterson or a Bedford, arguing that they aren’t married so he can’t just assume their baby will take his last name. Eric then suggests maybe they should be married then.

Roman sits with Kate and says he wishes he could get on board with Eric and Sloan, but no matter how much Eric protests and says that Sloan has changed, there’s just something about her that he doesn’t trust. Roman calls it a question of character. Kate is sure more than a few people in Salem would question her character but Roman manages to love her. Roman argues that Eric and Sloan barely know each other so she can’t compare them when their love has stood the test of time. Roman states that Sloan is a rebound of a rebound who became a baby mama. Kate suggests getting rid of the sexist term “baby mama” which Roman agrees to and calls that Kate making him a better person, which he doesn’t think Sloan will do for Eric. Kate suggests Eric will make Sloan a better woman like Roman did for her. Roman argues that Kate did that on her own and all their difficulties are in the past because now they trust each other completely. Roman then asks Kate what’s wrong and if there’s something she’s not telling him.

Eve questions what Harris is doing in Bayview. Eve decides she’ll go first and calls it a long, convoluted story but in short, she let vengeance consume her to the point that she lost all reason and she could’ve gone to prison but they deemed her criminally insane, so she’s here. Eve then tells Harris that it’s his turn. Harris responds that on more than one occasion, Stefano DiMera’s daughter Megan Hathaway brainwashed him to kill innocent people. Eve remarks that you gotta love Salem. Harris guesses this is not where either of them expected to be after graduating Salem High. Eve then points out that she didn’t have as much fun in high school as he did. Eve says she has to get going because she has a group session very early tomorrow morning. Harris stops her and says there’s something he has to say. Harris then tells her that he’s sorry.

Chad asks what EJ proposes he does. EJ proposes that Chad gets Alex to stop darkening his doorstep and urges Chad to fight for his woman. EJ advises Chad to ask himself, what would Stefano do? Chad jokes about what he expects him to do. EJ tells Chad that he has to let Alex know that he can’t keep interfering in his relationship and if he does, there will be consequences, otherwise he’s going to keep taking advantage and chipping away at their relationship until there’s nothing left. Chad declares that for once, he thinks EJ is actually right. Chad says he’ll see him later as he’s not going to waste time and he’s going to straighten out Alex Kiriakis. EJ encourages Chad to go be a DiMera. Chad looks to the portrait of Stefano and then exits the mansion.

Nicole and Melinda sit together in the town square as Nicole enjoys her fried pickles. Melinda brings up just being in court with Sloan. Nicole asks so what since they are both lawyers. Melinda says she just meant that Sloan is pregnant too and Nicole’s ex-husband is the father. Melinda asks what are the odds and jokes that there must be something in the water in Salem. Nicole blows it off as there being nothing to it. Melinda thinks back again to Sloan almost telling her something about Nicole being pregnant. Melinda remarks that it looks like she struck a nerve. Nicole disagrees but Melinda feels that bringing up Eric and Sloan’s baby has rained on her parade. Nicole insists that she doesn’t care about them as she is with EJ and their pregnancy is going very well as the genetic testing came back clear so she’s confident that she can carry the baby to term. Melinda then questions genetic testing.

Sloan asks if Eric is proposing right now. Eric guesses that he is and says they kind of did this whole thing in a crazy order as they went from lawyer and client to friends with benefits and now they are having a baby. Eric wants to make a commitment to their baby and to her. Eric wants their baby to carry Brady as a last name as it’s a name that he’s really proud of. Eric adds that it would be a lot easier if the child’s parents had the same last name for his kid to carry that name too.

Roman tells Kate that she’s scaring him here and says they got past her knowing that Lucas kidnapped Sami because she swore to him there would be no more secrets. Roman asks if she’s gone back on her word and demands the truth. Kate then admits there is something she’s been keeping from him. Roman asks what it is. Kate then reveals that she asked Harris Michaels to kill someone for her.

Harris apologizes to Eve for how he treated her in high school. Eve calls that a long time ago. Harris says it doesn’t matter as he was a total jerk back then which Eve agrees with. Harris admits he only cared about hooking up with girls and impressing his idiot friends. Eve brings up her past as a prostitute. Harris admits he used her and he has a lot of regrets about that as it wasn’t right and she deserves better. Eve repeats that it was a million years ago. Harris is still sorry about it. Eve responds that she’s been through a lot worse since then and she remembers turning the tables on him back then when she threw the big warehouse party where Harris and his friends got arrested. Harris points out that almost kept him out of the military. Eve guesses she’ll always have a knack for revenge.

Alex comments on the kids sleeping. Stephanie decides she should go check on them and heads to their room. Chad then comes home to find Alex there again. Alex says he just came by to drop off dinner to thank them for last night. Chad calls that thoughtful and asks where Stephanie is. Alex informs him that she’s checking on the kids and repeats that he’s really grateful for them letting him tag along to the Pub after his awful date. Chad tells Alex that he can drop the act and save the faux sincerity for Stephanie. Alex claims he’s not following. Chad says he’s on to him which Alex questions. Chad tells Alex that his nice guy friendly stuff is just a scam to get Stephanie back and it’s not ever going to work.

Roman questions if Kate hired Harris Michaels to go after Stefan. Kate says of course not and clarifies that she asked Harris to kill Megan Hathaway. Kate argues that in her defense, Megan tried to use Bo to kill her first and she was responsible for her being stuck on a fishing boat at the mercy of Dimitri. Roman says he’s not saying that Megan’s not a horrible person but questions sending an assassin after her. Kate says Roman doesn’t have to worry since Harris refused to do it anyway because he didn’t want to add to his body count. Kate adds that Harris was going to kidnap her and have her disappear to an off the grid location, but Megan got in to his brain again and she’s the one who sent him after Stefan. Kate apologizes to Roman for keeping all of this from him and admits she promised Kayla that she would tell him but she wasn’t able to find the right time. Roman questions Kayla knowing. Kate confirms that she told Kayla after everything went down. Roman complains that his baby sister knew his wife was running around town ordering hits. Kate asks if Roman thinks she’s a monster.

Harris sits with Eve and asks about her knack for revenge being what landed her here. Harris asks what happened to her if she doesn’t mind. Eve reveals that the DiMeras aren’t the only ones capable of using mind control as a weapon as she used it to brainwash Hope’s serial killer son in law to murder his own wife.

Alex tells Chad to slow down. Chad argues that Stephanie might feel sorry for him but he doesn’t. Alex says he doesn’t need anyone to feel sorry for him. Chad accuses him of playing the game of being sad and lonely needing a shoulder to cry on. Chad declares that he’s done watching him make moves on his woman right in front of him. Alex questions Chad saying his woman and warns that Stephanie isn’t fond of the possessive. Chad argues that he lives with Stephanie and knows her a hell of a lot better than he does. Alex questions it being like that. Chad wants Alex to stop showing up at his door without a shirt on, bringing over dinner, or coming by to shoot the breeze. Alex questions Chad not wanting them all to be friends. Chad says not like this with Alex showing up purposely when he’s not there so he can hang out with Stephanie and come up with excuses. Chad asks if Alex knows the meaning of the word boundaries and tells him to start respecting their boundaries. Chad orders Alex to stop showing up uninvited, crashing their dinners, and to leave them the hell alone. Chad asks if Alex understands now.

Melinda asks Nicole if genetic testing is standard nowadays. Nicole says it is with expecting mothers her age and with her history. Nicole adds that Sloan and Eric also did it with their baby. Melinda jokingly asks if they are comparing notes now. Nicole explains that she found out because Sloan ended up with her test results by mistake. Melinda questions how that happened. Nicole guesses it was a mix-up at the hospital. Nicole thanks Melinda and says she’s going to get home to her man. Melinda congratulates Nicole as she walks away. Melinda remarks to herself on the supposed mix-up and wonders what Sloan wanted with EJ and Nicole’s test results.

Sloan tells Eric that she doesn’t know what to say as she wasn’t really expecting this and they never even talked about marriage before. Eric admits he wasn’t really expecting to have this conversation either and apologizes if he’s blindsiding her, but says it just makes sense to him as they want their relationship to be official before the baby comes. Eric then asks Sloan if she wants to get married. Sloan responds by saying hell no.

Nicole goes home to EJ at the DiMera Mansion. EJ asks if she got to visit with Abe. Nicole says she unfortunately wasn’t able to see him. EJ asks where Nicole has been all this time as he started to get worried. Nicole tells him that he doesn’t have to worry every time she leaves the house. EJ says he’ll try not to but he just wants everything to be okay. Nicole explains that she had her fried pickle and milkshake craving so she went to the town square. EJ says she didn’t have to do that as he could’ve had Cook make her anything she wanted at home. Nicole jokes that she likes the diner’s fried pickles better. Nicole adds that she ran in to Melinda Trask. EJ guesses that was unpleasant. Nicole explains that she literally ran in to Melinda, who knocked over her food plate and she was generous enough to buy her a replacement. EJ remarks that Melinda may be many things but generous is not one of them, so he wonders what she’s really up to.

Roman tells Kate that he loves her very much, so he doesn’t think she’s a monster. Kate asks even after she kept the truth from him and almost did something terrible. Roman hugs her and says he knows the woman he married both times and he loves her unconditionally. Kate asks if he forgives her. Roman confirms that he does and admits he understands why she did it since Megan tried to take everything from them and made him believe that he had lost her forever. Roman jokes that next time she wants to hire a Navy SEAL, she could run it by him first. They kiss until Marlena enters the Pub and greets them. Kate asks if she has any news on Abe. Marlena says she doesn’t but she’s been at Bayview with Harris. Kate asks if Harris has started treatment. Marlena responds that she can’t discuss a patient, but she can say he’s exactly where he needs to be.

Harris can’t imagine what it would be like losing a daughter like Eve did and says he’s so sorry for her loss. Eve responds that Paige was her world and she still misses her every day. Eve talks about doing a lot of work on herself since being here and lots of intense therapy so she’s learned to cope with her grief in more productive ways. Harris says that’s good to hear. Harris doesn’t know if Eve heard that he and Hope were together for awhile recently. Eve assumes Harris met Hope’s daughter Ciara then, which Harris confirms. Eve adds that he would’ve also met Ciara’s husband Ben, her daughter’s killer. Harris hopes talking about this isn’t triggering. Eve declares that she will never forgive Ben Weston for what he did to her daughter, but Ciara is only guilty for having the worst taste in men, so she realizes it was wrong of her to try to punish Ciara for Ben’s crimes.

Chad asks Alex if they have an agreement. Alex responds that they do. Alex states that he’s been working on becoming more self aware and having more respect for others, so knowing that he’s not wanted here and that Chad resents his friendship with Stephanie, there won’t be any more neighborly visits or tagging along to dinner. Alex declares that he’s out and he will back off from both of them. Chad hopes he means that. Alex assures that he does and gives him his word as they shake hands. Stephanie comes back in and asks what’s going on here. Chad claims it’s nothing. Stephanie confirms the kids are asleep and says she’s going to get dinner warmed up for them. Alex tells them to enjoy dinner themselves as he’s going to take off. Chad questions if he’s sure. Alex says he has a lot of work to do. Chad points out in front of Stephanie that Alex has to eat so he might as well join them now. Alex says he’s good and maybe next time. Chad suggests maybe when he finishes working, he can come by for dessert. Alex insists on next time and thanks him. Alex says he’ll see them around. Stephanie thanks Alex for bringing all the food over. Alex repeats that it’s the least he could do. Alex tells them to enjoy their night and exits. Stephanie finds it weird that Alex left so abruptly. Chad blows it off as Alex saying he had work to do. Stephanie remains unsure as she got the feeling that Alex was making up excuses to leave, but wonders why since when he first got there, he was excited to have dinner with them and didn’t say anything about having to work. Stephanie wonders why Alex was suddenly in such a rush to get out of there. Chad claims not to know why and agrees it was weird and out of character for him. Stephanie adds that it was also out of character for Chad to urge him to stay. Chad claims he was just trying to be polite. Stephanie acknowledges that Chad hates when Alex comes over and thinks he’s trying to win her back. Chad says he’s over that and that he feels sorry for Alex as he thinks he’s very lonely. Stephanie agrees and calls Chad very sweet and kind to have made him feel welcome. Chad responds that she is the kind and sweet one. Chad tells Stephanie how grateful he is to have her in his life. Stephanie asks where this is coming from. Chad says from his heart and he also talked to EJ, who reminded him to never take her for granted. Chad adds that when he lost Abigail, he never thought he would have love in his life again and he resisted the feelings for months, but she brought so much light back in to his world. Chad wants Stephanie to know how important she is and that he would never let anything come between them. Stephanie responds that she feels the same way. Chad brings up dinner but Stephanie suggests they skip straight to dessert, so they head to the bedroom.

Kate tells Marlena that she hopes Harris gets the help that he needs because he’s not a bad guy. Marlena calls taking responsibility for his actions an important first step. Marlena guesses they’ve also heard about Eric and Sloan which Roman confirms. Marlena admits she’s happy for Eric but has her reservations about Sloan. Roman thanks her and says him too. Kate gets that Sloan doesn’t look like the maternal type but she’s apparently suffered terrible losses in her life, so she thinks they need to give her the benefit of the doubt. Marlena agrees since Eric is a grown man and can make his own decisions. Marlena brings up how much Eric has always wanted a family of his own, so she hopes nothing happens to mess it up.

Eric questions Sloan not wanting to marry him and asks if he did something wrong. Sloan calls it a pathetic excuse of a marriage proposal with no romance. Sloan argues that she doesn’t need to marry him or his last name since she already has two family last names that she’s proud of. Eric asks what she needs him from him then. Sloan responds that she needs love and calls him a jackass.

Melinda calls Sloan and leaves a message, inviting her to lunch as she’d love to finish the conversation they had started earlier.

Nicole tells EJ that Melinda was being pretty nosy. EJ guesses she’s probably gearing up to go after DiMera with more bogus charges. Nicole senses it was more personal as Melinda was asking questions about their baby and Eric and Sloan’s baby. EJ wonders why their children would concern Melinda. Nicole says she has no idea. EJ suggests maybe it’s nothing, then remarks that Melinda has no life outside of the courthouse so maybe she’s living vicariously through them. EJ is glad they have a baby to look forward to as they kiss.

Harris comments that it sounds like Bayview has been good for Eve. Eve says when she got there, she was at her lowest point and had no hope but the treatment has really turned her life around. Eve reveals that she’s actually due to get out in a few weeks and she hopes for a fresh start. Harris asks what she plans to do. Eve responds that she’s thinking about going to California to be near Shane, Kimberly, and Theresa with her nephew Tate. Harris says that sounds nice. Eve suggests maybe she could try her hand at music again. Harris acknowledges that she was always very talented and it’s never too late for your dreams. Eve encourages that it’s not too late for his dreams too. Eve hopes that Bayview will help Harris just as much as it helped her. Harris says only time will tell.
