EJ yelled at someone on the phone to have Wei Shin call him. Nicole saw him on the phone and took it from him. she wanted to consummate their marriage. He wanted that too but was upset about what Stefan and Gabi did. Nicole assured him that they will get everything back from them. She reminded him that it was their wedding night, and she could take him mind off his problems. Tripp covered Li’s body with a sheet. Wendy was upset and asked him if he heard what Li said before he died. Tripp confirmed that Li said Gabi did it. Wendy was upset that Gabi killed her brother. She wanted to make her pay for what she did. She realized she had to tell their father what happened to him. She knew her father would want revenge. Tripp assured her the cops would get justice for Li. Stefan told Harris that Gabi didn’t kill Li. Harris told him that Gabi was holding the knife and Li identified her as his attacker. Harris handcuffed her and bagged the knife. Gabi begged Stefan not to let them arrest her. He promised not to let anything happen to her. He assured her that everything would be okay, but he wasn’t sure about that. Paulina arrived at the DiMera mansion and asked EJ to be Deputy Mayor. He rejected the position because he wanted to work for the family business. She reminded him that he didn’t have a job and she wanted to look out for him. Paulina wanted to look out for him because their children are dating.

Jada filled Rafe in about Li at the station. Harris brought Gabi to the station. Rafe questioned Gabi in the interrogation room. Gabi assured him that she didn’t do it. She told him what happened when she found Li’s body. Rafe believed her. She let him know that she was being framed. Rafe wanted to know why Li texted her. She told him that she used Rolf to blackmail Li so he could give up his shares. Melinda was shocked when she found out what happened to Li. She saw Wendy and Tripp and offered her condolences. Wendy didn’t believe her. She knew Melinda tried to take him down. Melinda assured her that she liked Li. She regretted putting her professional life before her personal life. Tripp got a call that the police were finished at the apartment. Gabi defended blackmailing Rolf. They argued about it until she said she needed him. She couldn’t go back to prison after what happened the last time. Gabi begged him to help her. He told her that she would be okay. Rafe let her know that Li wanting revenge gives him a motive to set her up. He let her know that Li was obsessed with her. Rafe reminded her that she took everything but revenge. She didn’t think the jury would buy that. Later, Rafe told Jada and Harris that Gabi was innocent. He hoped someone else’s prints were on the knife. Stefan arrived at the station and assured Gabi that he wouldn’t let anything bad happen to her. She wants to find out who set her up for murder. EJ arrived at the station and told Stefan and Gabi that he’s the new DA. He looked forward to making Gabi his first conviction.

Stefan arrived at Li’s apartment and found Gabi holding a knife while Li was on the floor. Li was bleeding from a stab wound. Stefan asked her why she killed Li. She assured him that she didn’t do it. She let him know that Li called her and said the stock certificates were fake. He ordered her to come there if she wanted the real ones. Gabi told him that when she got there Li’s door was open, and he was dead. Stefan told her that Li lied to her because the certificates were real. She was shocked that Li tricked her. Stefan wanted to know why she was holding a knife. Gabi panicked and picked it up again. She wondered if she should wipe her fingerprints off it. Before they could do anything, Wendy and Tripp arrived. Wendy screamed when she saw Li on the floor. Tripp checked his pulse and said he wasn’t dead. They called an ambulance and Wendy went to the hospital with Tripp and Li.

Chad spotted Stephanie and Everett hugging. He wanted to know why they were hugging. Stephaie introduced them, and Chad blasted him for hurting her. Stephanie and Everett explained what happened between them. Chad backed down and asked how long he was staying in Salem. Everett told him that he was moving there since he found a job. Chad wasn’t happy about it. Everett assured him that he wouldn’t go after Stephanie because he knows she’s happy with him. After Everett left, Chad and Stephanie argued about him. Stephanie told him they just hugged. She wanted to be polite to him. Chad compared the situation to her relationship with Alex. She told him that it wasn’t the same. She let him know that she liked  the idea that someone thought she was an amazing person. Gabi panicked and wondered if they should take the knife and leave. Stefan reminded her that Wendy already saw the knife in her hand. He wanted to wait for the police so they could tell what happened. Wendy wanted to know who stabbed her brother. Tripp and the doctors helped Li. Li flatlined and died. Wendy couldn’t handle it and broke down. Harris showed up at Wendy’s apartment and Gabi wondered how Li was doing. Harris let her know that Li died. She wondered if he named his killer. Harris told her that Li said she killed him. He arrested her.

EJ wanted to know what Stefan and Gabi meant when they said he was fired. They said they had control over DiMera Enterprises because Li signed over his shares to them. EJ said he wasn’t going to let them get away with this. They said there was nothing he could do about it. Gabi told him to make sure his office was cleaned out because anything he left was getting thrown out. EJ said his next move was going to stop them. When he left, Stefan called a shareholder meeting. Gabi wanted to go with him but he said he would handle it. Nicole and Chad talked about the wedding. She wanted to know what happened to Stephanie. He told her about his argument with Stephanie. He said he loved Stephanie but he couldn’t picture marrying anyone but Abby. Nicole said she understood. She said she had trouble letting go of Eric even though it wasn’t the same thing. She gave him advice about the uncertainties of life. Nicole gave him advice about Abby wanting him to be happy. He said he believed her. He said he was going  to find Stephanie and make things right with her. EJ told Nicole that Stefan and Gabi were taking control over DiMera. He got a notification that the shareholders voted him out. Nicole said they would do everything they could to make it work, but for now she wanted to celebrate their wedding night.

Stephanie and Everett ran into each other at the Square. He said he was staying in Salem. Everett said he had a job at the Salem Spectator. His purpose wasn’t to cause her trouble. He wondered how her boyfriend reacted to the news of him being in town. She said she hadn’t told him yet. Everett thought that was interesting. She said she didn’t have a chance to tell him. She talked to him about the issues she had with Chad. Chad showed up and saw them together. Eric went home and told Sloan that he wanted to marry her that day. He convinced her it was a good idea. When he left so she could get ready, she told herself there was nothing Nicole could do to ruin it. Eric went to see Marlena and asked her to marry him and Sloan. She agreed to marry them. Roman showed up for the wedding. When Sloan showed up, they wanted to start the wedding. Brady showed up at the apartment. Eric asked him to be his best man. Li was upset about Gabi tricking him. He talked about getting revenge. Wendy walked in and saw him holding a knife. He lied and said he was making dinner. They talked about Marlena helping him. He told her what Gabi did to him. Wendy was upset about what she did. He said he was going to let go of it. She said she had plans with Tripp but she wanted to cancel them. Li told her not to do it. Later on, Li was shown on the floor with a stab wound in his back. Stefan came in the apartment and found Gabi holding a knife with blood on it.

Nicole ran into Eric at the Square. She told him she and EJ were getting married that day. He told her he was thinking about her. He said he knew that it was her wedding day. They talked about Holly’s issues with the wedding. She said Holly missed him. He said he missed her too. He asked if she would be marrying EJ if she weren’t having his baby. She said she probably wouldn’t be marrying EJ. She told him EJ was the father of her baby. She said she was going to have a healthy baby. It was a sign they belonged together. She said she loved EJ. Eric said he was happy for her if she was happy. She asked about the adoption. He said he and Sloan were going through with the adoption. She said she was happy for him if he was happy. They walked away from each other. Eric went to see Marlena so he could talk. He told her Nicole was getting married to EJ that day. She said she could tell he was emotional. She asked if he would have gotten back together with Nicole if her baby was his. He said he would have. She asked him about Sloan. He told her he was happy with Sloan, but he still loved Nicole. She told him to be sure of what he wants before he made a commitment with Sloan. Stefan met with Rolf in the park. He said he needed Rolf’s help to blackmail Li. Rolf wanted to know why he should help. Stefan reminded him that he helped Megan and Li try to kill him. Rolf said he kept him alive for years and never got a thank you. Stefan thanked him. He said Stefano would support what he was doing. He said he was blackmailing Li to sign over his shares which would give him control of DiMera. Rolf agreed to do it for Stefano.

Li went to look for Gabi. When he was about to leave, Rolf was at the door. Li wanted to know why he was in Salem. Rolf said Megan sent him there. Li said he didn’t have time for this because Gabi was kidnapped. He said he had to save her. Rolf said Megan was the one who kidnapped Gabi. She was using Gabi to get Li’s shares in DiMera. Rolf reminded him that he helped Megan kill Stefan. Li admitted to what he did. He said he was wrong to do it. He said he was working on getting over Gabi. Rolf didn’t believe it would work. Li was shocked when Gabi came out. She said she wasn’t kidnapped. Li didn’t understand why she did it until Stefan showed up. Stefan played the recording of Li admitting to his role in trying to kill him. They told Li to sign over his rights to them. Li agreed to sign them his shares. He threw them out of the apartment and vowed to get revenge on them. Johnny asked why Holly didn’t want to see their parents getting married. She said she would never get the man of her dreams. Johnny wanted to know who it was. She said it was EJ. They talked about it for a little bit before she told him she was okay with the wedding. When Chad showed up at the mansion, EJ and Nicole got married. Stefan and Gabi showed up at the wedding. Gabi made a toast to the couple. EJ wanted to know why they were there. Stefan shocked everyone when he fired EJ.

Marlena asked Li about his relationships before Gabi. He said there was only one. He told her how he met his old girlfriend. He said he loved her but his father didn’t approve of the relationship. He said when his father found out he yelled at him. He said his father offered a bribe to her family so he never saw her again. Marlena said his issues with his old girlfriend were why he was desperate to hold on to Gabi. He said she was right. He said he would get over Gabi with her help. He said he was going to continue having sessions with her. Gabi and Stefan talked about the plan to blackmail Li. She wondered if he was hesitating the way he did with Kristen. He said he wasn’t because Li tried to have him killed. They said they needed to get the evidence that Li was involved in his attempted murder. He said he secured an asset that would help them get what they want. Stefan left to pick up the asset. She called Li and told him she was kidnapped. While Johnny and Hope were talking, EJ and Nicole wanted to talk to them. They told Johnny and Holly they were getting married. Holly wasn’t happy about it. EJ and Johnny left the room so Nicole could talk to Holly. Holly thought about Johnny telling her he couldn’t be with her because they were step-siblings. She told Nicole she didn’t think it was a good idea that she marry EJ. Nicole wanted to know why. Holly lied and said she wanted him to be with Eric.

Nicole told Holly that she understood that she wanted Nicole to be with Eric because they were close. Nicole said she wanted Holly to be close to EJ one day. She said they were going to be a happy family. She wanted Holly to be happy for her. Holly agreed to try. Eric and Tate ran into each other at the pub. Tate told him he had feelings for Holly. Eric was shocked that he was interested in Holly. Eric said he and Holly were close when he was married to Holly. Tate said she was interested in an older man. Johnny interrupted them before Tate could tell who the person was. Tate went back to work. Johnny told Eric that Nicole and EJ were getting married. While Eric was in the Square, he thought about Johnny telling him Nicole and EJ were getting married. EJ went to Chad to tell him he and Nicole were getting married. EJ invited him to the wedding. Chad agreed to go to the wedding. EJ asked him to officiate the wedding. Chad agreed to do it. When Johnny went back to the mansion he asked Holly why she didn’t want their parents to get married.

This episode of Days of Our Lives has a Halloween theme. Eric and Sloan watched a horror movie when he received a called about his former parishioner dying. They rushed to the hospital. Eric prayed over his body. Sloan and Nicole ran into each other. They argued until Eric approached them. He warned them they needed to follow him if they wanted to live. Eric took them to an exam room. They didn’t believe zombies were after them until they saw hands coming through the door. Nicole blamed herself for what happened since she lied about a virus outbreak. She lied so she could swab Eric’s cheek. Sloan confessed that Eric is the father of Nicole’s baby. Eric and Nicole wanted more information so Sloan explained everything. Eric felt pain and realized a zombie bit him. He found out he got infected with a virus. He found a bottle of sedative and a syringe. He gave them to Sloan. He wanted her to kill him before he became a zombie. She couldn’t do it. He asked Nicole to inject him and she did it. Eric died and Sloan blamed her for killing him. Nicole injected her too and warned her that she would die for what she did. Sloan watched Nicole promise Eric that she would take care of their baby. Sloan woke up and realized she had a bad dream. Holly wanted Tate to help her get to Johnny. She wanted him to pretend to stalk her. He hesitated, but eventually agreed to help her. Holly ran to get Johnny and let him know about the stalker. Johnny went to check, but no one was there. Holly checked and got stabbed by the masked stalker. The stalker ran away. Johnny left to take care of Holly’s cut. Tate walked in the room and Holly yelled at him for stabbing her. He said he didn’t do it. Tate wanted to find the person and he was killed. Johnny got killed too. Holly confronted the stalker who turned out to be Chanel. Chanel killed them because she knew Holly had feelings for Johnny. Holly woke up and saw Johnny and Chanel making out.

Stephanie let Chad know that she found a way to give him what he wanted. She found a book and could conjure up a spell to bring Abby back. Chad didn’t believe her, but Kayla showed up to help with the spell. They needed something that belonged to Abby. Chad didn’t have anything. Stephanie had Abby’s ring. They performed the seance, but it didn’t seem to work. There was a knock on the door and Steve was there. He warned them not to do the spell because it would bring back an evil Abby. He pulled out his gun and said they had to kill her before she comes after them. Chad wouldn’t let Steve do that and struggled with him for the gun. The lights went out and Steve was on the floor. Stephanie saw Abby. Abby broke Steve’s neck. Kayla tried to revive Steve while Chad went looking for Abby. He came back and saw Steve and Kayla dead. Stephanie told him that Abby did it. She said she shot her many times, but it didn’t do anything. She saved one bullet for him, but he woke up. Paulina had a nightmare while she and Abe were watching a movie. In her nightmare, she found out a homicidal maniac was on the loose. The lights went out momentarily. When they came back on, Abe was passed out on the floor. Paulina wondered who did that to him. Whitley confessed that she did it. Paulina noticed she had a rolling pin in her hand. Abe woke up and said he remembered everything. He remembered Whitley being his wife. She showed him their wedding picture, but Whitley was standing beside him. It turns out that Paulina is Whitley. Whitley hit Paulina with the rolling pin. Paulina woke up from her nightmare.

Li went to see Marlena because he was losing his mind. He said he kept thinking about Gabi and it was affecting his life. He said he wanted to get over her. She said she knew he wasn’t involved in the plot to kill Stefan. Li said he was involved. He said he knew she couldn’t say anything because of doctor-patient confidentiality. She said that was true unless he planned on doing something illegal or harmful to anyone else in the future. He said he had no intention of doing that. He just wanted to get over Gabi. EJ told Nicole that Stefan and Gabby got Kristen’s shares. Nicole wondered if that meant Stefan and Gabi controlled the business. He said they didn’t. He said they had to get one more shareholder on their side and that would be it. She was worried about bringing a baby into that family when she and the baby weren’t a priority to him. He said Stefano always put family first. He promised to do better. She said she wanted to believe him, but she wasn’t sure. She said they were supposed to get married but it didn’t happen because of his revenge plot against Ava. He said they would get married the day after Halloween. Chad talked to Kate about his fight with Stephanie. He told her that he and Stephanie weren’t on the same page about marriage. He said Stephanie wanted to get married but he didn’t. He said their fight was about Abby. He questioned if he moved on too soon. He questioned if Stephanie wanted to marry him because she wanted to or because she was afraid of being ghosted again. Kate offered to watch the kids so he and Stephanie could talk.

Stephanie was shocked to see Everett. He wanted to go to the apartment to talk. She wanted to know where he has been over the years. He said he didn’t ghost her like she thought. He said he was hit by a car and in a coma for a year. He said when he woke up, he didn’t have his memory. He said when he remembered her he had to come see her. She didn’t believe it at first. He told her he wanted to be back with her. He kissed her but she pushed him away. She said she was living with someone. He asked if she was engaged or married. She said she wasn’t. He said he wasn’t giving up on her. When Everett left, Chad came home. He asked if she wanted to talk. She said they have talked enough. Stefan and Gabi were at the Square. They talked about the way they double crossed Brady and got the upper hand with Kristen. She told him what happened in Salem last Halloween. They talked about getting control of DiMera Enterprises. She said they should go after Li’s shares. She said they should blackmail him with the evidence that he was part of the attempt to kill Stefan.

Gabi edited the recording of Rachel. She told Stefan she didn’t feel good about it. She said she would be devastated if anyone accused her of abusing Arianna. He said what they were doing was terrible, but they didn’t have a choice if they wanted the shares. He said no one would ever see the video as long as Kristen does what they want. She said they also had to betray Brady to get what they wanted. He said he felt worse about that, but they didn’t have a choice. They wanted to move quickly with the plan so EJ wouldn’t get Kristen’s shares before they did. EJ and Kristen walked at the square. He told her he was concerned Stefan and Gabi would come after her the way they did Dimitri to get control of their shares. He said she should give them to him so he could protect them. She was suspicious and said she would have to think about it. Stefan called Kristen and asked her to meet him and Gabi at home. When she got there, they told her to sign her shares over to them. She laughed at them until they showed her the recording of Rachel saying her mother gave her a black eye and the video of her saying she would discipline her daughter anyway she wanted. She realized they set her up. She yelled at them but she didn’t back down.

Stefan and Gabi told Kristen they would give the video to Brady if she didn’t sign over her shares. Kristen said she was calling their bluff. She was going to take her chances with the judge. She said she didn’t want to risk losing Rachel. She signed the paper. Stefan told her she had to convince Peter to sign over his shares. When they left, EJ showed up. Kristen told him what happened. Marlena asked Brady about his deal with Gabi and Stefan. He told her they were setting Kristen up to look like she abused Rachel physically. He said he agreed to help them. She said what he was doing was wrong. He said he didn’t care. He said he wanted his daughter back no matter what he had to do. She tried to talk him out of it, but he refused to change his mind. She had to leave to go to the hospital. After she left, Gabi and Stefan showed up. They told Brady they deleted the videos because they made a deal with Kristen. He was upset that they double crossed him, but they didn’t care. Chad asked Stephanie if Steve was right about her wanting to get married. She said she did want to get married, but he wasn’t ready. She said she lied so she wouldn’t pressure him. He wasn’t happy that she lied to him. They argued over his feelings for her and Abby. Stephanie told him he didn’t understand how hard it was for her competing with his dead wife and losing. He said he could see marriage for them, but he wasn’t ready. He was still grieving Abby. He said he loved her. She said he didn’t love her the way he loved Abby.
