THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

You weren’t expecting to see this ever again, were you?

Maggie, I can explain.

No, don’t even try.   I don’t want to hear another lie out of your lying mouth.   [tense music]   You came into my home   when I was grieving the man that I love.   What, you thought you’d take advantage of that grief?   You knew I needed someone to lean on,   someone who understood   how I felt about my husband.   So you pretended to be his friend…

To know him like I did, to love him like I did.   And, what, you hoped that I would fall for you?

You let me cry on your shoulder.   You pretended to be my protector   when my beautiful baby granddaughter was taken.

The kidnapping–  you arranged that too, didn’t you? That’s absurd. I’ll be damned.  You had Xander and Sarah’s baby kidnapped  so Maggie would continue to let you live in her home,  away from all those phantom Greek enemies  who were after you. You sick bastard.  You’d better hope–

Xander.

You’d better hope the cops get here before I kill you.

Dear God,  that hooded person that took Victoria,  that wasn’t one of your Greek enemies.  That was your accomplice.

Who the hell was it, Konstantin?

What does it matter who it was?  He’s already admitted responsibility for the crime.

You’re all a bunch of damn hypocrites!  We all know that Victor was no saint, huh?  He didn’t give a damn that my little girl was killed  because of his need to punish me, huh?  Well, I may not have got my revenge on you,  but I did get my revenge  on your dearly beloved late husband. What are you saying?

It was me who was responsible for his death.  I am the one who sabotaged his plane,  sent him to a watery grave.

What’s going on? That’s not true!  It can’t be! [laughs] You don’t think I am capable  of finding someone to tamper with that plane, huh? Oh, I think you’re capable.  John told me that you ordered him to kill me  the minute we were pronounced husband and wife.

What?

But I refuse to believe  that a man as strong and as vital as Victor  could be taken away from us  by someone as insubstantial and as small-minded as you. Small?  The old man is dead, is he not? Can’t you see what you’re doing to her?  What the hell’s wrong with you?

You want to hurt me, don’t you?  You want to twist the knife.  Well, trust me.  You can’t hurt me any more than I already am.  You see, I’m the one who opened the door  and let you into our house.  I laid out the welcome mat to my husband’s killer.  I betrayed his memory, and I have to live with that.

You’ve said your piece, Konstantin.  Now I’m gonna say mine.  I offered to marry you so you could stay in this country.  I thought that somehow I could make amends for all the wrongs  that you had suffered at Victor’s hands.  I felt compassion for you.

Is that why you have set me up to be arrested  for a crime I did not commit? As opposed to the crimes you actually did commit? And plan to commit?

You never had any intention of marrying me.

She doesn’t need to defend herself to you.

That’s where you’re wrong.

I did intend to marry you…  until John and Steve told me that everything you said to me  from the time you stepped foot into this house  was a lie.

And that’s when the veil fell from my eyes…

And I realized  that we had to do something to deal with you.  We had to do whatever we could  to get you out of our lives once and for all. And we’re taking you into custody right now. Let’s go. No, wait.

Konstantin was the last person to see Victor alive.

I need for you to tell me  everything about my husband  on his final days  in front of the people who loved him the most.  We need to know the truth.  We deserve that much.

[soft orchestration]  announcer: Like sands through the hourglass,  so are the “Days of Our Lives.”

[intriguing music] Careful what you wish for, Maggie. Answer her.  Make it fast. Your daughter, Catharina, died decades ago.  You had years to exact the revenge on Victor.  Start with that.  Why now?  Why after all this time? This time around, it was not about revenge,  not at first. What the hell is that supposed to mean? I gave Victor one final opportunity at redemption  at a time when I thought he would be most receptive.

So…  how is your son Bo?  It must be very painful for you to see him  in such a debilitating state and to feel so helpless, huh?

[laughs] What?  You didn’t like it? [groans] Indigestion. Ah, my apologies.  [sighs]  I have had to skimp on ingredients lately, huh?  Business has been so dreadful. And you asked me here to rescue you once more. [laughs]  You know, you must be very weary  of my perpetual requests for help,  even though my father lent you the money  that sent you on your way to become  the wealthiest man in the world. Your father, not you. Ah, yes, but still…  think of what you took from me, Victor:  my child, my wife, my–  my whole heart. It was a terrible accident that I regret deeply. So you’ve said.  But man to man, father to father,  words without actions are meaningless, no?  So can you not show  just how much you truly regret it, hmm?

Fine.  It’s your lucky day.

I knew you would do the right thing. Hmm. That’s debatable.  But after my visit with Bo,  I instructed my lawyer to destroy my old will.  I’ll be making a new one when I return home,  and I’ll include you in the new draft. Your generosity knows no bounds, Victor.  But at our age,  leaving things to chance might be ill-advised.  So why not draft a new will right now, hmm? Very well.

He would not help me then and there.  Oh, no. Huh?  Only when he was dead would I get a single cent.  He forced my hand!

I have a job for you.

You crashed his plane  only because you couldn’t wait for the money?  His promise to you wasn’t enough? Clearly not, because he broke that promise, huh?  He had no intention of leaving me any money, huh?  He just said so at the moment just to get me off his back.  He scammed me, huh?  He changed his will again before he got on that plane,  and he removed my name from it.

There it is. Hey. What are you doing?  Give me that. What the hell?  I’m supposed to be in this will.  Victor left me nothing?

If only I’d gotten to see his face  when he knew it was over, huh?  Horrified, terrified,  looking out that tiny, little window  at every inch of disappearing sky  and the fast-approaching ocean  and knowing what it meant, huh?  [laughs]Konstantin, I’m warning you. Swirling down and down, spiraling down– That’s enough!  That’s enough. I wonder what his last thoughts were, huh?  Were they of you, his true love,  or of his money, his real love? You don’t know what’s in his heart!  [tense music]  Victor and I, we meant everything to each other–  everything. [laughs]  Don’t make me laugh, Maggie.  That was a delusion and still is. That’s it! Shut up!Maggie! Shut up! [gasps] You know, Maggie did  everything in her power to help you.  How could you treat her like this, huh? Listen, an hour ago, she tried to frame me.  This is not as one-sided as you all seem to think, huh? One-sided?  You murdered my father. Oh, you seem so sure of that. We all heard you.  Enough with the games. That’s right. Enough talking.  It’s time to get you into a cage where you belong. And thanks to your detailed confession,  you’re gonna be booked for murder  instead of embezzlement. Since when did you get deputized by the Salem PD? ISA.  You’re in trouble with everybody, pal.  [dramatic music]

How could I have been such a fool  to let that evil man into Victor’s home? Mom, please, you did nothing wrong. Well, everyone warned me, but I wouldn’t listen. Take some deep breaths, please. I’m really fine. I’m fine. You collapsed.  You’re having an adrenaline crash. I can’t imagine how much stress you’ve been under,  and then Konstantin just added to it  when he told us what he did to Victor. I was taken in by his charms, his gifts,  his photos, his stories about the old days. I was taken in too, Mom. Not like I was. No, I just–I saw that he made you smile again,  and that meant a lot to me. Well, for me,  it was all about my connection to Victor,  the history that I never knew.  I wanted so badly to hear about all of that that I–  I just–I was willing to overlook  the red flags and all the warnings and– Maggie, Maggie.  You were his victim. I hate that word. But it’s true, Mom. Think of it this way.  Think about how brave you were,  how you worked with John and Steve  to lay this trap for him. Yeah, how long were you planning that? And why didn’t you tell us?Yeah. We decided that the fewer people that were in on it,  the better because then that way,  you wouldn’t have to put on a façade. What, and pretend he wasn’t a slimy creep?  Honey, I been putting on that façade for months.

You know, I didn’t think I would feel this way.  I thought that I would feel more powerful  when I exposed his lies. Mom. What? You almost lost your life today.  I don’t think that’s even sunk in for you  because it’s only sinking in for me right now. But my poor Victor, he did lose his life.  And to think that I welcomed that killer into our home.  How could I have been so gullible, so stupid? Maggie, you’re neither.  You’re the kindest, most generous person I know,  and the only reason that con man took advantage of you  is because you always see the best in everyone. In this case, to a fault.  [sighs] OK, I’m going back downstairs.  I’m gonna see that that murderer gets hauled away,  and I’m gonna–oh. Whoa, jeez.Mom, Mom, Mom.

Oh, my God.

Oh.

OK.

Oh. You have to rest. [exhales heavily] No, I’m–I’m–I’m–I’m OK.  I’m OK. I’m OK.  I’m OK.  I’m–I’m–I’m all right. No, I know, but maybe-maybe I could give you  a light sedative  ’cause you’re so worked up right now.

No, no, no, no, not while he’s free.

It’s not a concern, Maggie.  John and Steve have it all under control.  Here you go.Thank you. What? Yeah, Mom,  after everything that has gone on,  if anything happens to you, I- please, can I just give you something?  Just something light might help.  Will you do it for me? [sighs]  OK. Fine.OK. I called the police  while I was getting this out of the car.  Unfortunately there’s been an accident tying up access  to this part of the town, but we can all relax  because very soon, Konstantin will be officially in custody.

Give me those hands.  Hold still![coughing] Knock it off. Water. Give me some water, please. Theresa, don’t.Hey, hey, hey! [yelps]Theresa, no! [gasping] Drop it, you bastard. Drop it.  Drop it, you bastard. You’re not getting out of here.  I promise you that. I’m not going anywhere with you, huh?  I’m getting out of here,  and I’m taking my hostage with me.  [gunshots] No, no, no, no. No, no.  [tense music]  [gunshot]What was that? Nobody move. Oh, my God.  Xander. [gasping]  [gunshot] [yelps]  Oh, my God.  Uncle Steve.Be quiet! [groans]Here, here, buddy.  Let me see. Let me see. Let me see. [groans]  [breathing shallowly] It’s all right.

I’m going after them. I got you. I got you.  Give me something to stop the bleeding.  Here.  Let me put the pressure on here.  All right, I got you. I got you, man.  I got you.[groans] You’re gonna be OK, buddy.  You’re gonna be OK. You’re gonna be OK. [groans]  So it’s just a flesh wound, right? A flesh wound would look life-threatening  compared to this.  Stop trolling for sympathy.[laughs] Get Sarah on the double.I’m on my way. All right, this isn’t your first rodeo, partner.  You know the drill.  Breathe easy, and hang in there. Hey, Dad.Here we go. Dad, what do you want me to do? Catch up with Alex.  He went unarmed.  Good luck.Right. Go.[groaning]  Oh, God. How the hell did I get hit? Beats me. You used to be a lot quicker. [gasping]  I guess I started taking after you. I hope you didn’t like this shirt much, pal.

I’d steal one of yours, but they’re all so damned ugly. [laughs] Yeah.[coughs] No, no, no, no. Breathe.  There you go.  There you go. There you go.  Hang in there. Come on.

Oh, Xander, oh, my God, baby.  We heard gunshots. Are you OK? Yes.  Steve was grazed, but he’s gonna be all right.

What about Konstantin?

Yeah, don’t worry about him.  He’s being taken care of. How? What does that mean? It means he won’t be able to hurt you again or Victoria.  My promise to you. And Steve? That’s why I’m here.  We’re gonna need your help until the medics get here.

OK.

Wait a minute. How bad is he really?

No, Mom, it’s OK. I’ve got it.  It’s gonna be fine. But I-No, don’t you worry.  Justin and I will keep an eye on Maggie and little Victoria.  You just go take care of Steve.Thank you. We got it.

You sick son of a bitch.  You shot my Uncle Steve.

Next time, I’ll shoot John too.

There isn’t gonna be a next time.  If I would have known that I was plotting and scheming  with a murderer, I-Wouldn’t have gone for the big cash prize, huh? No.  No, I wouldn’t have.  My God, you are pure evil. Need I remind you it was your idea  to alter the will in Victor’s briefcase, huh,  changing Victor’s heir from Xander to Alex?  You.  All I did was find a forger. Don’t be so modest.  You’ve been running the show ever since. You are going to help me escape, Theresa,  because you certainly don’t want them to find out  what you did, especially not your cash cow,  Alex, the faux heir.

Alex. Let her go right now.  Are you OK? Ah, the cavalry,  though it’s possible you’ve forgotten  which one of us is armed. I could take you out in a heartbeat, you old man. About the time it takes for me to pull this trigger. Alex, don’t test him.  Don’t test him.  Just tell me, is Steve OK? He’s gonna be OK,  unlike my father. [laughs]  Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, shall we?  You are very much mistaken.  [tense music] How am I mistaken?  You already admitted– About killing Victor? Yes.  Yes, he is still very much dead,  fortunately for the rest of us. Then what the hell are you talking about?  How am I mistaken? Oh.  This is hard, huh?  What is the best way to convey this, huh,  with words?  I suppose blunt is best, huh?

Victor isn’t your father.

[grunts]Easy. Easy. [groans]Easy. You think Maggie’s gonna bill me for…  staining her carpet? It’s a write-off, man.[groans]  Yeah, like this operation.  I guess we needed a backup plan… Ah, don’t worry about it.For our backup plan. Brady and Alex are gonna track him down.  He’s not getting away with this. Well, you catch up with them.No. No, dude…No way. Go. Go. You are my partner.  You have been with me since the very beginning,  and this is where I’m staying.

OK.  Thanks.  [grunts]Damn it all.  That bullet was meant for me. Oh, no, no, no, don’t go down that road now, partner. Come on. You know that I’m right. Come on.You know I’m right. I know you’re full of it. Can’t argue with me this time.  Not this time.  Hold on. Hold on.

OK.

If…  you know as much about me as you claim you do,  you know that I won’t hesitate  to put a bullet through a man’s eye. Or a woman’s either.

What does that mean?

What does that mean?

You came at me, and Catharina got in the way.

Came at y–when?  Who’s Catharina?

Tell me.  Hands where I can see ’em.

I need you to see something and tell me what it means,  and I will go away.

Alex, don’t listen to him.  Don’t listen to him.  Just because Victor didn’t acknowledge you as his son  when he was alive, that doesn’t make him any less your father. If you would let me finish– Tell it to the cops, Konstantin. You might think you have the advantage,  but I am the one with the hostage, huh?

Now drop that gun,  or young Tate  grows up without a mother’s touch.

[gasping] I mean it.

[dramatic music] He’s lost a lot of blood.  Where’s the paramedics? There’s been a delay,  but they will be here soon.  Sorry, Steve.[groans]  I hope you take my insurance. [chuckles]  This one’s on the house. Oh, cool.  Hey, maybe you could take a look at my knee  when you’re done with this thing.  It’s been bugging me lately. OK, a little less conversation.  Let me see what I need to do, all right? Tell me, how bad-how bad is it? You’re gonna be fine.  You’re gonna be totally fine.  Great job stemming the blood, John.  I’m gonna–I’m gonna take over applying the pressure now, OK? [groaning] Steve, you OK? Am I OK? Yeah, I know, but are you still there with me? I mean–OK.  Here, just let me– Don’t push that guy quite that hard. OK.  Just keep pressure…

Pawn, I command you to take out your weapon.  Now shoot Steve Johnson.

OK.Thank you. I know. OK.

There we go. How’s Steve? Well, you heard Xander.  He’s going to be fine. You know, I remember the day that–  that we learned that-that Victor’s body was found.  You were here with me then too. Oh, Maggie, just like you’re always here for us. I feel like I’ve lost him all over again.  [stifled sob]  Oh, God.  I–I tried.  I really tried to do the right thing. You did do the right thing.  Maggie, you stood up to that man.  You were brave.  Victor would be very proud of you. I miss him.  I miss him so much.Oh. We all do. Oh, honey, please, please, please.  [shushing]  Just close your eyes.  Try to get some sleep.  Just relax.  [shushing]  [sober music]

[sighs]

Justin, poor woman.

My God, what didn’t that crazed man do  to try to destroy our family? [sighs]  At least it’s all out in the open now. Is it? Why? What do you mean?

Konstantin obviously had an accomplice  when he kidnapped little Victoria.

That kind of slipped my mind.

And it had to be someone on his payroll.

Yeah, but wouldn’t things be safe  now that Konstantin might be behind bars?  I mean, if I were the accomplice,  I’d be on the fastest boat to Panama right now. Yeah, probably is. Oh, Justin. [sighs]  I can’t imagine how difficult this has been for you.

Certainly has been disorienting- and not just, you know, the horrific events of today.  I mean, my whole world has just been turned upside down  since the day Victor died. I know, baby. It’s still so hard to absorb that he fathered  a child with Angelica  and neither one of them said anything to me.

He wasn’t the man I thought he was,  and neither am I.

What? Of course you’re the same man.  You–Justin, you are the same wonderful man. Alex is not my son,  and my relationship with him will never be the same.  My relationship with Uncle Vic has changed, too,  and obviously I can’t do anything about that. Well, you still have time with Alex.  Justin, he is your son.  He is your son in every way that counts,  and you know that.

I know he’s the son I raised, the son I love.  Nothing will ever change that–  not in my mind, not in my heart.

But how he sees me now…

Our future has changed…  forever.

[tense music] OK.  I am not going to say it again.  Drop that gun.  Put it on the ground and kick it over here,  or I will shoot.  And at this range, she is dead.

I don’t have a clean shot. We can’t chance it. Drop it!

Don’t drop it. Xander, what are you doing? Give it to me.  You’re dealing with me now. For the last time,  put that gun down. Just do what he says, Xander. Or, what, he’ll kill Theresa? Yeah, you heard him. I don’t care.  This man killed Victor.  He tried to kill Maggie.  He kidnapped my child.  And you’re worried about some collateral damage?  Who helped you that day with Victoria? [gasps]

Talk.

I will tell you who my accomplice is  but only–oh!  [grunting] Let her go.Little bitch!  Bitch, you’ve been a thorn in my side  ever since I came to this town!  You bitch! I’m gonna kill you.  Kill you. [gunshot] [gasps]  [panting]

[dramatic music] I pray Steve’s going to be OK. Oh, God, me too.  I mean, Konstantin was determined  to make sure that both he and John bit the big one. Not to mention the fact that he was planning  to kill Maggie after the wedding.

Poor woman.  I can only imagine how hurt she must be.  I mean, first she loses her husband,  and then that con man just waltzes in here  and not only takes advantage of her  but plans to murder her to steal her inheritance? I’m sure it’s gonna be a while  before she can recover from all this. Yeah, well, we’re gonna help her.  We’re gonna make sure she knows how much she is loved  and how much she is respected.  You know…  maybe I can fix her up with my dentist.  I mean, he’s a widower,  and he’s very smart, very sweet, very cute. Bonnie, Bonnie,  I don’t think Maggie’s in any condition  to be fixed up with anybody right now.  She’s a little fragile.  I think she needs some time to recover  from the shock of all this…

Yeah, yeah.

Like I said.

I get it. OK.  You’re probably right.  Speaking of shock, crazy how Konstantin  was trying to brainwash John with that creepy card.  Dude, it was so sci-fi.  [both laugh]Right?  I mean, thank God John and Marlena  figured out what the bastard was up to  and Marlena was able to help him  fight the mind control.

I’m telling you, that woman is a miracle worker.

Yeah, she is indeed.

[sighs, chuckles]  What could be going on?  Shouldn’t we have heard something  about Konstantin by now? I’m sure we’ll hear something soon.  I just pray everyone’s OK.

[scoffs] Everyone except Konstantin.  Maybe we should go check.  I mean, she’s sleeping. Yeah, Maggie will probably want to know what’s going on  when she wakes up.

Exactly.  Come on, let’s go find out… Let’s go.What’s happening.

[tense music]

What is that warning about Greeks bearing gifts?

[laughs] I assure you, this is no Trojan horse.  Please, open it.

Thank you.

Oh, my goodness.  A photo album. It belonged to my parents. Oh.  It’s beautiful.  [gasps] All these pictures.  Oh.  Is that Victor?

It most certainly is.

[laughs] Oh.  I’ve never seen a photo of him at this age.  He was so young and handsome.  [chuckles] There are many pictures of him in there.  Our families were very close. Mm.  He had such style.  [laughs]  And that twinkle in his eye.  I want to thank you for letting me see this.  I appreciate it. It is yours to keep.  I hope it brings you comfort for days and years to come. It’s such a special gift.  How can I ever repay you? Do you know Victor loaned me money  when I started my restaurant? I didn’t know that. And when I tried to repay him,  he wouldn’t accept a penny.  He wouldn’t even take the free meals I offered  when he visited.  So let’s consider it even.  Besides, I would consider your smile  payment enough.

[dramatic music]

Is he dead?

His pulse is thready, but it’s still there.

You–you think this is over.  [laughs]  But you are all so stupid.

There is still an enemy in your midst.  [exhales sharply]

An enemy?  Who’s he talking about?

He’s gone.

Thank God.  It’s over.

[intriguing music] John, can you–can you help me elevate Steve’s legs?

John?  What are you doing? Now shoot Steve Johnson,  and turn the gun on yourself. Almost there.

[ Suspenseful music ]

Liam: I don’t think hope is trying to create problems for you and finn.

Steffy: I’m not so sure about that.

Liam: You know what? You– you two have had a long and tangled history and I don’t know what I’m talking about necessarily. I don’t know how that feels.

Steffy: No, no, no. I should just– I should just stop venting about hope.

Liam: No, you’re fine. You’re totally fine to vent. I mean, and by the way, you’re not at all wrong about sheila. She absolutely, inarguably is dangerous.

Steffy: So you really believe that I have nothing to worry about with hope?

Carter: So the billboard next to the chateau, is that included in the budget?

Katie: Um, no. Uh, yes. I mean, yes.

Carter: What about the one on michigan avenue? Katie.

Katie: Oh.

Carter: Earth calling katie.

Katie: I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry. Um, what are– what are we talking about, I…

Carter: Wow, I lost you there, didn’t I?

Katie: Yes, I– that’s obvious, I guess.

Carter: Yeah, well, I– I know you too well. If something’s on your mind, you can tell me.

Katie: There’s just something I’m really having a hard time wrapping my head around, and– and it has to do with bill.

Bill: I still can’t believe I have a daughter. You are this remarkable young woman, and you are my child.

Luna: I’ve always wondered if I’d ever meet my dad, or even know his name. And now that I have you in my life, I mean, I couldn’t have picked a better dad.

Poppy: I’m so happy for both of you, and I am overjoyed that we’re all together. Finally, we get to be a real family.

Carter: Did bill do something?

Katie: Uh, well, not quite the way you’re thinking, but yeah, yeah, he did something with someone.

Carter: What does that mean?

Katie: Bill has a daughter.

Bill: My house is your house. This is your home now.

Luna: I mean, this is insane, right? Last night, my mom and I slept in my apartment.

Poppy: And now we’re moving in.

Luna: I’m sorry. Can you tell we’re like a teeny bit excited?

Bill: Well, I don’t know who’s more excited.

Poppy: Well, I just can’t believe this is our new life.

Steffy: Hope needs to stop making excuses for sheila.

Liam: Is– is that what she’s doing?

Steffy: Yeah, she’s giving her grace. And she deserves zero forgiveness.

Liam: Well, we completely agree on that. I just– the problem is finn would say it’s more complicated.

Steffy: Finn’s emotions around his biological mother are already mixed up as it is. And now hope is promoting a relationship between them? The last thing I need is hope to be spending time with my husband.

Finn: Hope? Hope? Hey. You– you okay? What– what’s going– I lost you there for a second.

Hope: Um, what– what were you saying again, I…

Finn: Um, oh, I was just saying how much I admire you and respect you. You embody the name of your line. Hope for the future. Auntie, you can’t put that right in the dishwasher.

Katie: So, will has a brand new half-sister, if you can believe it.

Carter: And you said she’s in her early 20s and that bill just found out?

Kate: Yeah, the mother kept it to herself. She didn’t even tell her daughter.

Carter: So nobody knew?

Katie: No.

Carter: Why not reach out to bill? Give him a chance to be in his kid’s life.

Katie: Well, apparently she wasn’t 100% sure that bill was the father. And I guess she didn’t wanna look like a gold digger.

Carter: So she just comes out of the woodwork and gives him a paternity test?

Katie: Pretty much.

Carter: This is a trip, katie. Wow, a trip for all of you.

Katie: Yeah, well, that’s not all. Bill’s daughter is someone you know. Someone you see every day.

Carter: Who?

Katie: Luna.

Carter: Wait, luna, rj’s girlfriend?

Katie: Uh-huh, yeah. The woman that bill was grooving with in golden gate park was luna’s mother, poppy.

Poppy: It’s just been the two of us for so long, and we’re used to living in these tiny rentals.

Luna: But you always made them look so cute, though. It never felt small to me.

Bill: Well, that’s because they were filled with a tremendous amount of love.

Poppy: That’s right. And that’s exactly what we’re gonna do here. Fill this place with all the love and joy that we’ve missed out on sharing over the years.

Bill: I’m just glad you both agreed to move in. And I– I know it’s happening quickly.

Luna: No, no, I don’t wanna wait any longer. I wanna do all of the fun father-daughter things, and I wanna get to know you better. Dad.

Bill: Wow, dad. Hearing you call me that, I can get used to this.

Poppy: And don’t worry, we’ll contribute. We’re not freeloaders.

Bill: Poppy, come on. I mean, your– your presence here is more than enough. Worth its weight in gold.

Poppy: Thank you, bill. You know, in a million years, I never would’ve imagined living with a man like you in a place like this. I truly am so grateful.

Steffy: Okay, first, hope and finn are at sheila’s memorial. Then they’re at sheila’s wedding. Do you think that hope bonding with my husband, she’s trying to get under my skin?

Liam: What I think is that finn is sheila’s son, hope is deacon’s daughter, and that’s the whole connection. That’s it.

Steffy: Okay, I know that she wants a connection with her father. I mean, yeah, fine. I– I get it. He never shot her. That’s the difference. He’s not a cold-blooded murderer, right? Look, I just want– I really want hope to back off. And stop putting my husband in these risky situations.

Finn: You okay?

Hope: Uh, yeah, I– I didn’t expect to feel this way.

Finn: Well, they’re unpredictable. Migraines can come up at the worst possible moments.

Hope: I didn’t see it coming. But thank you for being so wonderful about it all.

Finn: Is– is the throbbing getting worse? I mean, you look– you look a little flushed.

Hope: I do?

Finn: Yeah.

Hope: Um, I’m– I am sure it will pass. I’m sure it’s nothing.

Finn: It doesn’t look like nothing, hope. Be honest with me. What’s going on in that head of yours? (Vo) for over 50 years

Carter: So your egomaniacal ex-husband is luna’s dad.

Katie: Yeah, small world, right?

Carter: Wow.

Katie: Yeah, I mean, what’s funny is that wyatt and liam came into bill’s life kind of around the same age. I mean, will is the only child that bill has that he’s actually known since birth.

Carter: Yeah, do you think he’ll be into having a surprise sister?

Katie: Ah, he’ll probably be fine with it. I mean, he might even be excited about it. I– I don’t know.

Carter: What’s not to like about luna, right?

Katie: No, no, you’re right, you’re right. She’s smart, she’s talented. I guess we’ll all just get over the shock and welcome her into the family.

Carter: Mm-hmm. What about poppy?

Katie: What about her?

Carter: What’s your vibe on her?

Katie: Well, I’ve only met her once. But she raised a great daughter, so I guess I have to admire her for that.

Carter: Mm-hmm, yeah, you respect her as a woman mother to mother, but she’s still bill spencer’s former fling.

Katie: Well, bill’s allowed to do whatever he wants. We haven’t been a couple for a long time. You were my last relationship.

Carter: Yeah, but still, how do you feel about bill having a child with poppy?

Bill: Now that you’ve had the official grand tour, what do you think?

Poppy: Isn’t it remarkable, luna?

Luna: I mean, it’s like the most gorgeous mansion I’ve ever seen.

Poppy: And that’s saying a lot. She watches all those fancy real estate shows on tv.

Bill: Well, I’m glad you both approve.

Luna: I mean, it’s just incredible, everywhere I look.

Bill: What’s incredible is that I have you two beautiful women in my life.

Poppy: Thank you, bill, for your understanding and for welcoming luna into your life with open arms.

Luna: I mean, look, this is all a dream come true, and the house is beyond awesome, but… I’d move anywhere with you guys, if it meant that we could be a family.

Bill: Speaking of family, it’s time.

Luna: Time for what?

Bill: Time for you to meet one of your brothers.

Liam: I respect where you’re coming from. I really do. I just– uh, I would hate to see your old rivalry just get kicked up a notch.

Steffy: No, it’s– it’s not about that for me.

[ Cell phone chimes ]

Steffy: Hope keeps messing with my marriage.

Liam: Um, it’s my dad, and he’s summoning me to the house, and he says it’s important.

Steffy: No, it’s fine, go. I– I really gotta stop venting to you. I’m really sorry.

Liam: No, you’re fine, and just do me a favor. Just for now, try not to get too upset about hope. I really don’t think that she’s doing this intentionally.

Steffy: I really just want hope to stop encouraging my husband to hang out with sheila. She knows that is the one thing I told him not to do. And here I go venting again. I’m sorry. It’s just, hope spending so much time with my husband, it’s– it’s really getting on my nerves.

Finn: Your– your cheeks are a bit pink. Are you– are you hot?

Hope: Um, a little.

Finn: Okay, well here, let me– can I? Okay, well you don’t have a fever.

Hope: Well, that’s good. I’m sure whatever it is, it’s not a big deal.

Finn: Okay, well, I think that we should get to the bottom of what’s really bothering you.

Hope: Oh, I don’t think– we don’t have to do that.

Finn: No, look, it’s okay. All right, really, I’m a doctor. It’s– it’s a safe space. Whatever, you know, is ailing you, you can confide in me. Look, I know we already talked about decreasing your stress level, but are you feeling anxious?

Hope: Uh, that’s one way to describe it.

Finn: Okay, well, I’m here to help you, hope. So if you can, tell me exactly how you’re feeling.

()

Carter: So, katie, answer my question. How do you feel about bill having a daughter with poppy?

Katie: I’m not really sure yet.

Carter: Still processing the idea, huh?

Katie I’m just trying to figure out how I should feel.

Carter: It’s definitely a significant turn of events. There’s no manual for this kind of thing.

Katie: On the one hand, it doesn’t really affect my life all that much. I guess I just don’t know how to feel about will having another sibling.

Carter: And bill having another baby mama.

Katie: Yeah.

Bill: All right, well liam should be here any minute. I am very excited for him to meet his new sister.

Poppy: Well, how do you think he’ll feel about adding a new member to the family?

Luna: Yeah, I mean, I’m sure this might be a little weird for your sons. Do you think liam will be okay with it?

Bill: Well, make him be okay with it. Wyatt and will too.

Luna: I can’t wait to meet all of them.

Poppy: Your brothers, sweetheart.

Luna: I know, I’ve always wanted siblings.

Poppy: Hey, you’re not an only child anymore.

Luna: I know.

Bill: Listen, liam is gonna love you. They’re all gonna love you. I promise. Everything’s going to be great.

[ Knock on door ]

Liam: Well, hi, dad. You, uh, you summoned me.

Bill: I did summon you. Come here, son. Liam, this is poppy.

Liam: Poppy, it is a pleasure to finally meet you.

Poppy: It’s really nice to meet you too, liam. Your dad has told me so much about you.

Liam: Uh-oh.

Bill: And this beautiful young woman is luna.

Luna: Hi.

Liam: Hi, luna. I have heard so much about you, but I promise, it’s– it’s just the good things.

Bill: Well, things just got a whole lot better. We have confirmed that luna is in fact your half-sister.

Hope: I am feeling something.

Finn: Okay.

Hope: Well, it’s– it’s– it’s hard to put into words. I– I was in love with liam for most of my life, and then we got married, and we started a family, and yet I always felt like he had one eye on steffy. And then I became involved in thomas, in spite of the things that he had done to me in the past.

Finn: Well, because you wanted someone to love you, and only you.

Hope: Exactly. And then, I don’t know, I– I got to know you. And you’re devoted, and committed, and it just made me realize some things that, while yes, liam is a good man, he wasn’t always true. And thomas was true, he just wasn’t always a good man. And then, I don’t know, just meeting you just made me realize that, like, oh wow, like the whole package can exist.

Finn: Okay, well, I– I appreciate all the compliments, but I’m certainly not perfect.

Hope: Well, I mean, at least you’re perfect where it counts. I mean, you’re good to steffy. You are dedicated to your family.

Finn: You want that.

Hope: I mean, yes, I would like that for myself.

Finn: Hope, hope, there are plenty of other guys out there like me. I mean, I promise. And you– you might have to sift through a few jerks, but you will find a great guy. A man who puts his wife and his family first. You deserve that. You deserve someone who excites you and makes you feel beautiful and appreciated.

Hope: I mean, that– that would be nice.

Finn: Yeah, well, hey, maybe I’ll set you up with one of my colleagues or something. I’ll definitely keep an ear open for anyone who fits the bill.

Hope: Thank you.

Finn: Hey.

Hope: I mean, finn, I just– like, I appreciate you and your understanding and just– I don’t know, for listening.

Finn: Yeah.

Hope: So, thanks.

Steffy: What did I just walk in on? Answer me, hope! Answer me.

Ashley met with Tucker to express her gratitude for his timely intervention, which had prevented further harm. She acknowledged the complexity of their past and the challenges they had faced together. After their conversation, Ashley departed to check into a clinic for treatment, seeking to address the issues that had recently surfaced.

Meanwhile, Victor engaged in a strategic discussion with Cole and Michael, emphasizing the importance of loyalty and the need to target Jack. He outlined specific tasks for them, including fostering relationships with certain individuals to further his objectives. Victor’s plan appeared to be a calculated move to undermine Jack’s position, leveraging his associates to achieve his goals.

Ashley: Hey.

Traci: Ashley, you’re up. I thought maybe you’d sleep a little longer. Ooh, how’s your cheek?

Ashley: Oh, it’s okay, I mean… yeah, I mean, actually, just a couple of hours of uninterrupted sleep was magnificent. I haven’t had any peace for so long, awake or asleep.

Traci: And you finally do have some peace. So, how about the altars?

Ashley: Not a peep, nothing, not since I started figuring out what happened.

Traci: Wow, I am so happy for you. And you finally have some answers, and you’re gonna get more answers soon.

Ashley: Yeah, I know.

Traci: I wonder if alan had a chance to get some sleep. Oh my gosh, so much pain there. Physically and emotionally, to realize what his brother has put you through, and find his brother, and then lose him again in one night.

Ashley: It’s very tragic. All the time he spent trying to save his brother, and in the end, martin’s illness was just too strong.

Traci: I don’t know alan very well, but I imagine he’ll just shove everything aside, and focus on what he can do, which will be making all the arrangements so that you can check into the clinic today.

Ashley: I don’t wanna go. I know he’s right though, alan’s right. I have to figure out what happened to me, and I have to figure out what caused these altars to appear in the first place.

Traci: My amazing sister, I’m so proud of you.

Ashley: You still feel that way after everything I’ve put you through.

Traci: Come on.

Ashley: Oh, my god.

Traci: Ashley it was so much worse for you than for any of us, and look at you, taking charge of your recovery. That’s how I know you’re yourself again.

Ashley: Couldn’t have done it without you. Well, it’s the truth. I’m not feeling particularly courageous though, traci. I know I have to do it for a full recovery. There is one more thing I have to take care of though, before I go.

Tucker: Are these all the messages you have for me?

Dawn: Yes, they’re all there.

Tucker: There’s nothing from traci or ashley abbott? All right, please check and see if there’s anything else.

Dawn: Of course. There are some more messages about audra charles.

Tucker: Oh, excellent. I can’t wait to hear what she’s up to now.

Audra: Philippe. Audra charles. What a coincidence running into you last night. You know, I’d love to continue our conversation. When can we get together again? There’s so much more about tucker the world needs to know. Call me.

Cole: Hey, mike. Thanks for meeting up with me.

Michael: No, of course. Some kind of warped breakfast club for people on victor’s bad side.

Cole: Yeah, well, it would be a, uh, club of one if I didn’t drag you into this whole victor jordan mess. And– and you end up losing your job because of this.

Michael: Don’t bother worrying about that. Victor and I have done this dance before. We eventually work through these things. But you’re not on the payroll. How did victor vent his wrath on you?

Cole: Well, he wants to keep me away from victoria and claire.

Michael: Well, it’s a little harsh, even for victor. And unrealistic. You just found your daughter.

Cole: I did, I did. And there’s no way that he’s gonna keep me away from that. So he’s gonna have to come up with a better way to punish me.

Victor: Well now. Two traitors with their heads together. Why am I not surprised?

Announcer: Additional sponsorship provided by…

Victor: So, what are you two conspiring about now?

Cole: No one is conspiring against you, victor. We never have and we never will. Besides, part of your family is also part of mine, too.

Michael: I’ve always appreciated your ability to hold a grudge. It’s always been exceptional. But cole and I were merely looking out for you. We just happen to be two of your biggest supporters.

Cole: And as it turns out, it’s the best thing for everyone concerned.

Michael: Exactly. Your hands are clean now. No more wasting time worrying about some explosive secret. No keeping up pretense as well, containing that person, who, by the way, is now contained legally without any chance of escape.

Victor: This is not about the outcome. It’s about the betrayal by two people who I thought I could trust! I will not tolerate it.

Cole: Okay, victor, please, just wait a minute, all right? Let’s just take a beat. Maybe we can head on back to the ranch and talk about this in private.

Michael: That’s not too much to ask. Calm conversation, cooler heads. Give us a chance to make our case.

Cole: And then you can choose to do whatever you want.

Dawn: It appears ms. Charles has managed to run into some of the company’s board members.

Tucker: Happy little accidents, I’m sure. So she found a way to get to them, huh?

Dawn: Her main agenda seems to be reminding everyone of the cover-up scandal at mccall.

Tucker: Nicely done, audra.

Dawn: It’s a smear campaign. She’s claiming you’re emotionally unstable and incapable of running the company.

Tucker: Emotionally unstable? Very charming. Yeah. I don’t quite know yet what her next move is gonna be, but don’t worry. I taught her most of, if not everything she knows. But not everything I know.

Traci: What could be so important, you have to take care of it right now.

Ashley: I need to go see tucker.

Traci: Oh, ashley, do you think that’s a good idea? I mean, it’s conflating the events with martin and tucker that– that triggered the alters in the first place. Aren’t you worried that seeing him will do more damage or trigger a relapse?

Ashley: I owe him an explanation. And frankly, I’m doing it more for myself than I am for him.

Traci: You can’t do it, can you?

Ashley: Do what?

Traci: You cannot walk away from that man once and for all.

Ashley: This is why I’m doing it. I wanna say goodbye. I wanna get some closure.

Traci: Well, you can say that all you want, but you know tucker’s not gonna allow it. He says that he’s in paris on business, but it didn’t stop him from calling you or turning up at alan’s house last night. And even after everything that happened, he would not leave.

Ashley: I can’t really be mad at him though, can I? For showing up the way he did. God only knows what martin could’ve done to me if he hadn’T.

Traci: Okay, fair point. His timing was absolutely perfect and I will be forever grateful. But it doesn’t mean that you have to engage with him, especially now when things are so fragile.

Ashley: Okay, I hear what you’re saying, I do. But I just– I need to do this. I need to set the record straight. I need to explain what happened to him. I have to. I can’t go to that clinic without saying thank you. Please don’t worry.

[ Traci scoffs ]

Traci: Like that’s even possible. Um, I– I would worry less if you would let me go with you.

Ashley: I’ve got this.

Traci: Are you sure? You’ve– you’ve got this?

Ashley: Yeah. Why are you worried that I’m one of my personalities right now?

[Coughing]

Traci: Well, I had to ask because, you know, when we got here, you asked me to watch you. You wanted me to look for anything out of character or unusual.

Ashley: I know. This isn’t one of those situations, okay? I’m not gonna try to kill tucker or even seduce him. Besides, if I was one of my alters, would I commit to going into a clinic where the whole purpose is to heal me so I can purge them all?

Traci: Okay. You– you have a very good point. If you are really planning to go.

Ashley: I’m definitely going. Absolutely.

Traci: Okay. Please forgive me for doubting you.

Ashley: I think you’re entitled. Although I do find it a little disturbing that somebody so close to me doesn’t know when I’m me.

Traci: Okay, so I’m not supposed to worry that you going to see tucker might trigger one of the alters to show up.

Ashley: I love you. I even love fighting with you sometimes, but you’re not gonna win this one.

Traci: Okay, one more try. Ashley, you are in a very vulnerable state and you’ve said it yourself. Tucker can be relentless.

[Ashley laughs ]

Ashley: Yeah, but I seriously doubt he’s gonna try to follow me into a mental health facility, traci. Please, just trust me on this, okay? Please?

Traci: Okay. Promise me you’ll be careful.

Ashley: I will be. You know, I just– I need to do this. I need to close this chapter so I can focus solely on my recovery. Okay?

Traci: Oh, love you.

Ashley: I love you. I’ll see you soon.

Traci: Okay.

[ Traci sighs ]

[ Door closes ]

Victor: So, tell me what you would’ve done had I not caught you with that excuse for a woman in the dungeon.

Michael: We would’ve dealt with her just as we did.

Victor: You would’ve bungled it. She would’ve escaped again.

Michael: Given that it didn’t come to that, it’s hard to know.

Victor: You went behind my back. You betrayed me.

Cole: Look, victor, this is on me. All right, I take full responsibility for wanting to keep what he and I were planning just between us. The goal was to keep your hands clean. The whole intent was just to protect you.

Victor: Let me remind you, cole, I do not need your protection.

Michael: All right, all right, we stand corrected. But it’s over and done with. There’s nothing we can do to change what happened. You’ve already retaliated against both of us. But firing me and driving cole away from his family, it’s not really a viable long-term solution.

Victor: The hell it isn’T.

Michael: Look, you don’t believe that. Let’s just talk about how to get past this. You tell us what we need to do to win your trust back.

Tucker: It shouldn’t matter what clever little scheme audra’s cooked up, because the cfo’s of all the companies I’ve acquired, all the board members should remain loyal to me. I think I’ve made convincing arguments to all of them.

Dawn: How will you proceed?

Tucker: I make audra an offer she can’t refuse. Get her to back down, smooth things over.

Dawn: But why would you waste your time on someone who’s fighting you at every turn? How could you ever trust someone like that?

Tucker: It’s just business. She’s doing exactly what I would do if I were her.

Dawn: And you can forgive her for going after you the way she has?

Tucker: She’s trying to hit me where it hurts because I hurt her. Let’s see if she’ll meet with me today.

[ Knock on door ]

Tucker: Hey.

[ Serene music playing ]

Victor: There’s not a damn thing either of you can do to redeem yourselves at this time.

Michael: Victor, be reasonable.

Victor: You have been my conciliary, my attorney, my friend. How many years now? What you did was a betrayal.

Michael: Victor, really. This whole thing has been resolved to everyone’s satisfaction. Just please, just let it go.

Victor: I refuse to surround myself with people I can’t trust. There are plenty of brilliant lawyers out there I can put on the payroll right now. As far as you’re concerned, cole, why don’t you go back to oxford? Bon voyage.

Michael: Look, there was never any conspiracy against you. You were offended because we stepped in. And we understand. Cole and I are prepared to accept the fact that we could’ve handled this differently.

Cole: We should’ve trusted you enough to tell you immediately what we thought needed to be done instead of going and executing it on our own. All right, it’s not gonna happen again.

Victor: Damn right it won’T.

Michael: Victor, we deserve a second chance and you know it. Look, all’s well that ends well. May I? The bottom line is I like working for you and I do a better job than any other attorney out there.

Victor: That’s what you say.

Michael: And cole shouldn’t have to lose the family that he’s just found because of some miscalculated attempt to save you, not to mention how unfair that would be to claire and victoria.

Victor: All right. You’re gonna have to prove your loyalty to me again.

Michael: And how do you suggest that we do that?

Tucker: So you intend to take over glissade from me?

Audra: That’s right.

Tucker: Sure, piece of cake.

Audra: I’m not saying it’s gonna be easy. I know you have all your guns pointed in my direction. But I’m not gonna be intimidated and in the end, I’ll win for one simple reason.

Tucker: Yeah, what’s that?

Audra: I want it more than you.

Tucker: I think you’ve clearly shown that you don’t know what it is I truly want. And how hard I’m willing to fight for it.

Audra: Glissade was nothing more than a rebound play for you. You struck out at chancellor-winters, you struck out at jabot, so this was supposed to be your consolation prize. Oh, and it was all gonna be for ashley.

Tucker: So, um, just the other day when, uh, when ashley came to me and yet again tried to convince me that she and I belong together, and i turned her down flat without hesitation. Because despite all this, I love you. Was I lying to myself? Maybe you’re the one engaged in self-deception.

Audra: Am I? You came up with the idea to pour new life into glissade with ashley. Then you try to reboot it, to try to prove something to ashley. Okay, I don’t have any of that baggage weighing me down. For me, it’s just about the company. You know, if you were a decent ex-partner, you’d just let me have it.

Audra: Tucker, please.

Tucker: I’m glad to see you. Um…

Dawn: I’ll follow up on those calls.

Tucker: Thank you. Well, sit down, please. Can I get you anything?

Ashley: No, I’m– I’m fine, thank you.

Tucker: I don’t know where to start.

Ashley: I know, the whole thing is shocking.

Tucker: Yeah. How are you doing?

Ashley: Yeah, wow.

Tucker: Yeah?

Ashley: But, it’s okay.

Tucker: You look remarkably great, all things considered.

Ashley: Well, that’s why I– I’m here. I wanted to thank you so much for showing up when you did. I honestly don’t know what martin could’ve done if you weren’t there.

Tucker: It was nothing really anyone else would’ve done the same.

Ashley: I don’t agree with that. And I really need you to know that I appreciate it.

Tucker: Okay, well, you’re welcome. Glad I happened to be there.

Ashley: And I also want you to know that, thanks to alan, I am checking into a private clinic. Later today, he’s making all the arrangements.

Tucker: Alan to the rescue again. No, but really, I’m– I’m pleased that you have so many people supporting you in this.

Ashley: I’m fortunate.

Tucker: Listen, um, I don’t know all the details of what was going on with you. But…

Ashley: You knew, though, that something was off. I mean, you started urging me to get professional help before anybody thought it was a serious problem.

Tucker: Yeah, I did know something was off. I didn’t know what it was.

Ashley: You faced off with my family. You never backed down until they took you seriously. So, um, maybe you guessed. It seems that I have dissociative identity disorder, multiple personalities. So, don’t blame me for what they did.

Tucker: No, the only thing I knew is you weren’t yourself.

Ashley: Yeah, I know. You didn’t even know what I was going through, but you knew I wasn’t me. How did you– how did you know? How could you tell?

Tucker: I just knew. Yeah, I guess I’ll always know what makes the real you, you. I’m jonathan lawson,

Announcer: The young and the restless will continue.

Audra: This is audra charles. Oh, hi, are you calling to confirm my meeting with philippe? Oh, uh, I’m– I’m sorry to hear that. Well, I could be available later today or perhaps tomorrow if that fits better with his schedule. Of course. Yeah, I– I understand. It was such a pleasure running into him last night. I’d love to personally thank him for– for his input. Perhaps I could speak to him directly. Oh, I– I see. Well, thank you so much. Maybe I’ll try him again some other time. Damn it, tucker.

[ Knock on door ]

Alan: Hello.

Traci: Oh, alan, you’re here, come in, please.

Alan: Thank you, thank you.

Traci: Oh, boy, how is the pain?

Alan: Oh, I’m just a little stiff from the fall, that’s all.

Traci: Did you get any sleep?

Alan: Enough, thank you.

Traci: Please sit down.

Alan: Ooh, aye. So how’s ashley, is she awake yet or…

Traci: Oh, yeah, she’s awake. She’s actually already gone.

Alan: Where did she go?

Traci: To see tucker. She wanted to say goodbye and thank him for last night. And I think there were some things about the relationship she wanted to put to rest.

Alan: Yeah, well, that’s– that’s understandable. How– how did she seem?

Traci: Well, if you’re asking if any of the alters have come back, I don’t think so. She was very much herself when she left. But it doesn’t stop me from wanting to rush over to his hotel and make sure she’s all right.

Alan: That tucker has a substantial ego on him and he’s quite territorial when it comes to ashley, isn’t he?

Traci: So should I go over there?

Alan: No, I don’t think so. He showed genuine concern when he tracked her down last night.

Traci: I’ll give him that. But tucker can be a handful.

Alan: Oh, people are rarely one thing. But I understand your concern and– and your resentment.

Traci: Oh, no, it’s not resentment. It’s just that he has hurt the people I love too many times.

Alan: He did something decent last night.

Traci: He did, but you can’t make me trust him.

Alan: I promise you I am not trying to. Besides, you seem like the kind of person who gives people the benefit of the doubt when you can.

Traci: I– I try to, but when someone shows me their true colors, there’s no going back. I also like to think of myself, though, as someone who can recognize in people someone who is decent and kind and generous. And I see all of those things in you and I’m very, very grateful.

Ashley: Well, thank you for not forgetting the real me.

Tucker: Please, how can I forget you? I– I do know the real you and I’m glad I do.

Ashley: Well, it’s pretty amazing you can say that after what my alters put you through.

Tucker: More of you to love?

Ashley: Okay, sure. We did jerk you around, though, pretty mercilessly.

Tucker: Yeah, but I never thought you were doing any of it on purpose. I always had a sense you weren’t quite in control. That’s the past. It’s over now and I just– I want you to be happy and healthy again.

Ashley: Me too. So, anyway, um, what happened was, um, very scary and very difficult for me to explain.

Tucker: Okay, would you like to try?

Ashley: Okay.

Tucker: You don’t have to.

Ashley: I know, yeah, I got to, I got to, I got to. Um, so, that fight we had at the bistro last year, after that I went to meet up with alan. I didn’t know he had a twin brother.

Tucker: Martin.

Ashley: Yes, and I did not know that martin was impersonating alan that night.

Tucker: You thought martin was alan.

Ashley: Yes, and because i trusted alan, I ended up at alan’s apartment and I told him everything, martin, everything about us, the fight we had, what was going on in our marriage. I mean, I spilled my guts to him.

Tucker: Hmm.

Ashley: I’m not quite sure what happened after that, but martin was– he was aggressive towards me and he was, you know, he was full of rage and he was.. I blocked it out and I just simply don’t remember, but what you need to know is I somehow conflated the two events, you in the bistro, martin in the apartment, and I snapped and when I came out of it, I– I just confused you two and I was blaming you instead of martin for what happened.

Tucker: Okay. Yeah, I was very worried that i was the one that was putting you through all that.

Ashley: I know, it wasn’t you. And, uh, whatever happened to me that caused that psychological break, that made the, um, personalities come out. They were trying to protect me.

Tucker: I’m so sorry. I’m really sorry that you went through all that, any of it, and I’m– last night must’ve just been hell for you. After everything that that psychopath did to you.

Ashley: Listen, what I really need you to know that it would’ve been so much worse for me if you hadn’t shown up when you did.

Tucker: No, no.

Ashley: I really mean that.

Tucker: No, no.

Ashley: Anyway, I have to go to this clinic.

Tucker: Okay.

Ashley: I’m okay. I have to go to this clinic and I gotta do the work, which I’m gonna do. I hear it’s a fabulous clinic.

Tucker: That’s good. It better be. You let me know if it isn’T.

Ashley: Yeah, for sure.

Tucker: Um, well, I just– I wish you all the healing and– and– and well-being you deserve.

Ashley: Really?

Tucker: I wish you nothing but the best always.

Ashley: Really? Even if, I you know, all that push-pull and the love-hate and the yes-no and all that stuff?

Tucker: No, no, no, there was never, no, never any hate. Not from me anyway. Good luck.

Ashley: Good luck to you. And I want nothing but happiness for you. I mean, I hope you’re a huge success with glissade and with audra and with life.

Tucker: Here, I didn’t use this.

Ashley: It’s okay, I’m okay. Oh, hey.

So tell me about

your heart attack.

Audra: Ashley, my goodness. What a surprise to find you here.

Ashley: Please don’t think the worst.

Audra: And what would the worst be exactly?

Tucker: Audra, if you wouldn’t mind just giving us–

Ashley: No, no, no, no, I’m leaving, I’m leaving. And I was just here to say goodbye to tucker and I’m sure he’ll fill you in on the rest, right?

Tucker: Of course.

Ashley: What I was telling him, though, was that I really only wish the two of you the best in the future. I hope you have nothing but success and happiness and I’m sure that’s a little difficult to believe after the way I’ve acted recently, but I mean it.

Audra: That’s not really an issue anymore.

Ashley: But please just know that from the bottom of my heart, I really want you to know that I sincerely just want the best for both of you, okay? And, um, I won’t be seeing you for a while. I’m not gonna be in genoa city, so, um, it’s gonna be a while. Anyway, goodbye, I’m leaving. Bye.

Tucker: You still wanna come in?

Audra: Not anymore.

Traci: Alan, I have been really, really worried about you. Um, everything you had to go through yesterday. Losing your brother, bearing witness.

Alan: You know, martin, he always had an unhappy life and I don’t know, I guess I was grieving him before he even… I’m a man of science, but I just hope he’s at peace. You know, I mean, not just gone from the world, but truly at peace somewhere, finally. But then I think to myself, is that for my benefit or for his? And I just don’t know.

Traci: Alan, it can be for both. You have been carrying around so much responsibility for so many years. I think it’s time to put that burden down.

Alan: Thank you.

Traci: It is so much for us to ask you to deal with everything you’re dealing with for yourself and to help my sister. So if there’s anything, communications, anything that i can do to help you.

Alan: Traci, ashley is a dear friend of mine. I am happy to do whatever I can to get her the treatment she needs.

Traci: Why did I know that’s what you were gonna say? But please promise me that you will take care of your emotional needs too.

Alan: Excuse me, but who’s the therapist here?

Traci: Come on, I’ve heard that doctors are the very worst patients.

Alan: Well, that’s true, that’s true. But I actually think I’m doing the right thing. The last thing I wanna be is at home contemplating how I could’ve changed the outcome, you know?

Traci: Yeah, well, then by all means, you stay busy.

Alan: What about you? You– you’ve been through quite an ordeal yourself.

Traci: Uh, I don’t know. Um, I will go have a good long cry because that is what I do. No, no, hopefully I’ll get some sleep and maybe I’ll read a good book and maybe I’ll write a good book.

Alan: Well, I mean, that’s later, but what about now?

Traci: I don’t know, um, I honestly, I don’t know what to do. Every nerve in my body is either on fire or it’s as cold as ice. My mind is trying to cope, but my body tells me that something really terrible has happened. I don’t know, maybe it’s adrenaline or cortisol. You certainly would know more about that than I do, but I– ever since I woke up this morning, I just– I can’t stop trembling.

Alan: May I? Traci, please. Let’s try it, huh?

Traci: Thank you.

Alan: Thank you.

Cole: Okay, victor, name it. I’m up for the challenge.

Michael: No, no, no, hold on, cole. Uh, I think we should get a hint of what the gauntlet is before we agree to run it. I’ve had assignments from victor where I’ve landed in a peruvian prison.

Victor: Neither of you will end up behind bars in any country.

Michael: Yeah, okay, but I still think we should hear all the details before we agree to commit to it.

Victor: I have a separate request for each of you.

Cole: I’m eager to hear it.

Michael: Me too.

Victor: Michael baldwin, I want you to rekindle your friendship with diane abbott. Life happens out there. to move forward.

Alan: Ashley.

Alan: Ashley.

Traci: Oh, ashley, I was just about to come looking for you.

Ashley: No, not necessary. I did what I had to do, now I’m back and I’m ready to move forward.

Alan: Well, everything’s prepared at the clinic and, uh, they’re expecting you shortly.

Ashley: Vip treatment, I hope.

Alan: Nothing but the best for you.

Ashley: Thank you.

Alan: Well, they understand your situation and they will treat you with nothing but care, kindness, and compassion.

Ashley: Okay, I appreciate it.

Traci: So how did everything go with tucker?

Ashley: You know what, really well, really well. I was able to clear my conscience and now I can move on to the next chapter of my life.

Tucker: Audra, wait, let me explain.

Audra: Sorry, tucker, but no explanation needed. You are a free man now, you can do whatever you want.

Tucker: Good, what I want is to tell you what happened. Please.

Audra: Tucker, I mean this from the bottom of my heart. I don’t care. I went over there to hear what you had to say, but then I realized, what is the point?

Tucker: So you’re angry because I asked you to wait a second? What is this?

Audra: I’m not angry, I’m bored. I’m tired of your games and your maneuvers, of the way you think that your priorities are the only ones that matter.

Tucker: Please stop, just listen for one minute. Let me explain what happened with ashley.

Audra: No, please do, tucker, explain why you let her believe that we were still together. Are you trying to make her jealous? Weave your web to suck her back in because I got away. No, but that look in her eyes, that was goodbye, tucker, because she can finally see you for what you are and so do I.

Tucker: How long are we gonna do this? This dance of ours? We both know how we feel if–

Audra: That, that. You know, the way that you always assume that we feel the same about anything, but we don’t, tucker, because I have the emotions of a normal human being and you don’T.

Tucker: Are you at least curious about my proposition? I doubt you would’ve shown up at my door if you weren’T.

Audra: You know, you just think you know me so well.

Tucker: Yeah, I think I do, but first, please let me explain. Give me five minutes and I promise it could change everything.

Victor: And here’s my request for you, cole. I understand that claire’s working in the abbott household for kyle, babysitting harrison, is that correct?

Cole: You know she is. What does that have to do with anything?

Victor: I want you to create a friendship with kyle. Get to know him better.

Cole: And you want me to do that, why?

Victor: That’s of no interest to you right now. This is a request you should be able to fulfill easily.

Cole: Well, I’d still like to know.

Victor: I’m trying to protect your daughter, my granddaughter, and my great-grandson. Is that clear?

Michael: Well, if that’s your answer to cole, what’s so legitimate about a request involving diane?

Victor: They’re all part of the same family, aren’t they?

Michael: Hmm. Wait a minute. There’s only one through line I can think of between kyle and diane, and that’s jack abbott. What are you up to now, victor? <

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

Maxie: Well, Natalia had some requirements, a.k.a. demands.  That woman is a real piece of work.  I had the kids with me. I had to take them home  and basically drop everything so I could deal with this.  If we could do this as quickly as possible —  Are you even listening to me?  Kids…home.  I’d like to go there and be with them.  I’m so sorry, Maxie. I’m a little distracted.  I picked up on that.  I had the best afternoon,  and I can’t stop thinking about it.  I’m glad you guys had a good time, though.  Oh, “good time” would be an understatement —  for Wiley, at least.  You would have thought we were at Disney World.  Yeah, the Metro Court pool is, like, the place to be.  It’s where it’s at.  More like Drew is. Wiley adores him.  Yeah. All kids do.  Yes!  If and when Drew runs for office,  he should be holding a baby in every campaign photo.  That’s actually a solid press strategy.  You should tell him that. Thank you. I will.  Oh. Did you, uh — Did you see Josslyn?  It was her first day lifeguarding, right?  We did. And it was. Your sister crushed it.  That’s awesome. I feel like I missed out on a great day.  Well, one thing you won’t be sad about missing —  We ran into Nina.  Need a hand?  -Thanks for stopping by. -No problem.  Okay, we have new market research  on the Wellness launch, and it is encouraging, man.  This is just the right time to do this.  That’s what I wanted to talk to you about.  I’m considering a new venture that might conflict  with the launch of the Wellness division.  Oh. What kind of “new venture”?  I’m thinking about running for Congress.  How are you doing?  I’m…  Overwhelmed. Yeah.  I understand.  I actually spent the day  remembering moments I spent with your dad.  It sounds silly, but it helped.  Well, I would love to be doing that.  Unfortunately, I am dealing with my brother.  What’s going on with Finn, aside from the obvious?  We need your help, Grandmother.  More accurately, Finn does.

Hey. What are you doing here?  Woman: Oh, God.  You’re not the wife, are you?  No.  Just the ex-girlfriend.

So, how was your first day lifeguarding?  It was pretty good.  Seemed that way earlier. No last-minute disasters?  No. No, I didn’t have to rescue anybody.  A plus. Yeah.  And all the kids were pretty well-behaved.  And Gio seems cool.  Yeah, I talked to him a little bit at the wedding.  He seems like a good guy.  Yeah, I think Trina might have gotten him  a job playing the violin.  Oh, and there was one more thing.  About Gio? Or your day?  My day.  Not only was it my first day, but I had a visitor.  Oh, really? And this — this visitor  wasn’t overstepping by visiting?  No.  Glad to hear it.  I think that if all the pool days are like this one,  it’s gonna be a pretty good summer.  Well, that is definitely something to celebrate.  Are you ready for dinner?  Yeah. Yeah. I’m just gonna go shower.  Then I’m all yours.

I had such a good talk with Willow today.  That’s really great, Nina.  But Violet is spending the night at my house tonight, so could we —  And you should have seen Wiley  in his cute, little swim trunks, Maxie!  Although, I guess he’s not so little anymore.  But these children are growing up so fast.  Yeah, yeah. Time flies, as it is doing right now, so just —  And Drew was actually tolerable.  I mean, he’s still a horrible, selfish person.  “Selfish.” Interesting.  But, you know, it’s been a long time  since I’ve had this much contact with Willow.  And I have to admit it’s because of Drew,  so if this is the price that I have to pay  for dancing with the devil…  I’m more than willing to pay up.  Wow. Just like that, you’re running for Congress?  Man, not “just like that.”  And I know you’re gonna keep this confidential,  but Larry McConkey is retiring.  Wow. I’m sorry to hear that.  For the most part, I like his policies,  but more importantly, I like his integrity.  So do I, which is why when Nina said  she was gonna go interview him,  I decided to kind of stop by, pop in there, introduce myself.  And then I pitched the Esplanade project.  Named in his honor. Nice touch, Drew.  I wasn’t — I wasn’t trying to butter him up.  I really wasn’t. The man is impervious to flattery.  But he does care about his legacy,  both in the House and in his district.  He wants a functioning government.  And that’s where you come in.  McConkey said that he would endorse me  if I ran for his seat.  Have you accepted? I’m close.  I mean, I’ve been talking to people,  I’ve been asking opinions, and now I’m asking yours.  Because if I do this, it’s going to affect Aurora and you.  So Nina was at the pool ? Was she swimming or…?  No, she was looking for Drew,  and I’m not sure she would have even said hello ,  but Wiley spotted her.  And as you can guess There’s no stopping him.  He was so excited to see his grandmother,  ran right over to her. How’d that go?  Oh, Nina was really sweet with him.  That’s never been her problem.  No, I guess — I guess not.  Anyway, the last few times we’ve seen each other recently,  Nina and I have gotten along okay.  I thought it’d be rude to send her away.  Especially with Wiley right there.  I get that.  But I just wanted to be upfront with you.  Full disclosure. Right?  Yeah.  I do, um — I do have to say…  I gotta be honest. I don’t — I don’t trust Nina.  And so do I love the idea of her being around our kids?  No, I don’t.  But you’re the one who gets to decide  how much contact you want with your mother.  So whatever you decide, I’ll support.  Thank you.  It means a lot that you said that.  Again, I do have to ask, though.  Um, it seems like a shift.  Suddenly you feel safe around Nina?  What changed?  Finn has been drinking.  Define “drinking.”  When my dad died, Brook Lynn and I got to his apartment.  There was an open bottle of bourbon  that he’d obviously helped himself to.  I got Violet out of there immediately.  Which gave Finn and me a chance to talk.  Did he admit to it?  He said he had a drink, and then he changed it  to “maybe a couple” — he couldn’t remember.  Ugh. That’s not a good sign.  And then Chase caught Finn drinking  at Gregory’s reception.  He had a shot of tequila,  and then I watched him down a second shot,  and then he pulled out some breath spray to cover it up.  So it wasn’t an accident  or a moment of grief-stricken weakness.  Finn is drinking on purpose,  and he doesn’t want us to know about it.  I think it’s time you called it a night.  Are you going to let her order me around like that?  [ Finn mutters ]  Take a hint, sweetheart.  Your man’s moved on.  What’s your name?  Barb.  Go home, Barb. Sleep it off.

[ Scoffs ]  Fine.

You’ve got some nerve!  Bye!

You don’t — You don’t live here.  You don’t really love me.  You — You don’t get to judge me anymore.  Finn… you’re drunk…  making out with a complete stranger,  so, yeah, I am judging you.  Where were you? What?  Where…were you?  I-I don’t even know what you’re referring to.  I am here right now.  Where have you been?!  [ Chuckles ] I haven’t even —  I don’t see you. You…  You’ve — You’ve — You’ve left me.  You’ve abandoned me. Because I couldn’t be —  I couldn’t be perfect. You —  You can’t stand to be around me when I’m grieving!  That is not true.  It is true!  It is true.  So I — I tried to find somebody who could.  There’s not one specific thing  that happened to suddenly change my mind about Nina.  And my mind isn’t completely changed, by the way.  I still take everything she says and does  with a hefty grain of salt.  Something’s changed.  I don’t know how else to explain it,  except…she’s just not trying so hard.  She’s not pushing for more, more, more  like she used to.  And it’s a relief, you know,  to not constantly be throwing up boundaries.  She’s respecting the ones that are already in place.  That’s — That’s — That’s good.  It is good.  I’m not bracing for some big blow-up  every time we see each other.  But nothing actually happened to warrant that?  Your uncle happened.  I know it sounds crazy,  but Nina’s changed, and it’s because of Drew.  So Drew is the devil now? Oh, trust me, Maxie.  I have seen a side of Drew that not many have.  Yeah, front and back, from what you’ve told me.  But there’s also another side of him,  and I’m not just talking about his looks —  because, yes, Drew is objectively handsome.  Duh.  But it’s the way he was with Wiley.  I mean, I’m telling you, that kid lit up  when he was around Drew, and the, you know,  interaction with them, watching that…  It’s kind of a turn-on, huh? Well, you know.  Yeah, well, what I do know is I would like to go home.  Look at Spinelli.  Yes, yes! I would love to look at Spinelli — in my house!  Watching Spinelli playing with your children —  I’m sure that makes him instantly more attractive  in your eyes. Yes, it does.  Which is why I would really, really,  really like to see him tonight.  And even I have to admit  that Drew’s six-pack doesn’t really hurt matters.  Okay, first of all, it is a -pack.  And, second, Nina! What?  Why are you so focused on Drew’s abs  if — and this is a direct quote from you, F.Y.I. —  you do not plan on sleeping with him again?  Well, I’m starting late, so I only have a few months to campaign,  and these are months that I plan to devote  to the launch of the Wellness Division,  which we were going to do together.  And now you want me to do it alone.  Well, you’re gonna have Michael’s support  on the financial end.  I’m gonna pitch in where I can, but I —  I honestly don’t know how much I’m gonna be able to do,  so, yeah, it’s gonna have to be you.  Lead the team, to answer the questions,  talk to the designers and the concept people, you know,  both for the platform and for the brick-and-mortar.  Well, I can handle it.  I have no doubt that you can.  And now that we have talked about the business —  and I know there’ll be more to discuss later —  Drew, there is something  that I want to say to you as a friend.  I think you should do it.  [ Laughs ] Good!  But you got to tell me why.  Well, I think it’ll be good for you,  because deep down inside, you’re an idealist.  You’ve got integrity, right?  Which is increasingly rare in politics.  But integrity alone  isn’t gonna get much done in Washington.  You’re pragmatic. You understand that there’s  gonna be a give and a take.  You’re not afraid to fight,  but you also understand when something’s worth fighting for  and when it isn’t.  Fought for this country. You believe in liberty and justice for all.  I think there should be more people like you in government.  Wow. Thank you for saying that.  So, when are you gonna announce?  Well, I got a few things I got to work out,  but it’s gonna be soon.  Okay, well, I’ll get the ball rolling with the team  I put in place first thing in the morning.  Curtis. Thank you.

[ Cellphone chimes ]

Really, Nina?!  Unbelievable!  Finn is in denial that he has a problem.  But he is trying to hide that problem.  Because he assumes that it’s going to be a problem for us.  According to Finn, his addiction  is with Zekenestrol, not alcohol.  He only stopped drinking as a precaution.  But he’s decided that he doesn’t need to take that precaution,  that he’s just fine drinking.  Even though he’s made a ton of grandiose pronouncements  that he’s never gonna drink again  and that he’s, you know, working the program, et cetera, et cetera.  but rather than just tell us that he’s changing his mind  or deal with our concern, he’s hiding it!  I can put you in touch  with a counselor or an interventionist.  Our main priority is Violet.  We just want her away from that situation.  Luckily, she’s staying at Maxie’s house tonight,  but that’s not a permanent fix.  She just lost her grandfather.  She’s already lost one parent.  We just want to keep her  in an emotionally stable environment.  That’s all well and good,  but Finn lives for that little girl. We know.  He also has sole custody of her.  He is not gonna respond well when he finds out  that you are trying to get her away from him.  That’s where you come in.  I did not abandon you.  That’s not what I said.  Isn’t it, though?  That I left you high and dry in a time of need?  That’s B.S., Finn, and you would know it  if you weren’t drunk right now.  [ Scoffs ] You’re right.  You’re right. I-I had a couple drinks.  “A couple drinks.” “A couple drinks.”  You know what? I’m not — I’m not doing this.  Please just tell me Violet is not home.  Do you think I would do anything  if my daughter was here?  If you would’ve asked me that last week,  my answer would be, “Never,”  but now — I honestly don’t know.  [Sobbing] I’m sorry. I’m sorry.  I made a mistake.  There’s — I’m not right in my head right now.  I-I hate myself.  I hate what I’ve said to you.  I-I’m sorry. I’m sorry. Please.  I don’t expect you to forgive me.  I just — Give me a chance to explain.  Finn…  Finn, I-I genuinely  want you to get the help you need,  for your sake and for Violet’s.  But we are done.  Please don’t say that.  I can’t — I can’t do this to my kids.  I can’t do this to myself.  I’m leaving.  Elizabeth, please. Please don’t go.  Please. Please. I just want to talk to you. Finn.  Let her go!  Drew has been so great about introducing me  to the New Tomorrow Institute.  Joss! Hey.  Hi! Wow!  Are you guys out on, like, a date right now?  We manage to pull it off every once in a while.  Ohh.  -Dex. -Michael.  So, how was your first day at the pool?  It was really good. And, by the way,  Wiley is quite the swimmer.  The kid is a fish.  You know, there’s room for four  if you guys want to join us.  I…think these two have other plans.  Enjoy your dinner.  Thank you. Bye…  I am so happy to see those two  inching their way back to each other.  I always thought they were good together.  Yeah, well, according to Josslyn,  they’re just trying to take things slow.  Your sister is confiding in you about her dating life?  Josslyn just spent the night in the E.R. with Dex,  and, uh, Josslyn and I went to go grab a cup of coffee,  and I asked her if she and Dex  were planning on getting back together.  Well, that was subtle. [ Chuckles ]  She didn’t mind, you know? She was — She was open.  Yeah, she said that things have really changed for her  now that Dex has become a cop.  Dex: I like it in here.  Yeah. It’s cool, right?  Trina’s Aunt Stella took us here.  That surprises me.  Well, Stella’s got a lot of friends.  Um, Trina and I met her here for dinner  the night of Brook Lynn’s  bachelorette/bridal shower.  So we ended up having to bail,  but we came back the week after.  Well, I’m always ready to try something new.  And make some new memories?  New memories. Plural?  Yes. Well, saying “a memory” sounded a little bit sad.  Well, I guess what I mean is that another dinner  may be in the cards?  If you play those cards right, maybe.  I’m so excited about  this new spokeswoman position and —  I can tell.  And I’m so grateful to Drew.  He’s been so great,  giving me all the time I need to learn and adjust.  What does this have to do with Nina, though?  I mean, you said that Drew is the reason why Nina’s changed?  Well, I guess that’s not the best way to put it,  but I do think that Drew setting aside his anger at Nina  has allowed her to grow in a way she couldn’t before.  Okay. And I don’t know.  It makes me wonder — if Drew can start fresh with Nina,  maybe I can, too.  Maxie, I am not going to sleep with Drew again,  but I still have eyeballs!  That are apparently glued to Drew’s abs.  Hey. I-I get it. I totally understand.  Oh, really? I’m not judging.  Oh, well, you could have fooled me.  Nina, I just want you to be honest with yourself.  You can’t stop talking  about how wonderful your afternoon was.  Well, that’s because of Willow and Wiley!  Drew had nothing to do with it?  Maxie, you know how I feel about the man.  I think he’s loathsome.  Yes, you have said that.  But from everything else you’ve said,  it suggests otherwise.  No. Drew Cain is a snake.  And he’s completely unprofessional.  I get it. Unlike you, who’s the picture of professionalism.  Do you think we could get back to our meeting now?  I am so sorry. Yes. No. It’s fine. It’s fine.  It’s just Natalia has notes on, well, everything.  And what it boils down to —  Nina! What the hell is your problem?  I was so close.  It’s summer. School’s out.  And Violet always has so much fun when she comes over here.  As do all the neglected children of Port Charles,  but I digress.  The idea is for us to tell Finn  that Chase and I are gonna spend some time  at the Quartermaines’ — you know, a few weeks.  It’ll be nice to have some more space and be on the water  and help wrangle all the kids who live here and hang out here.  So many. There’s Leo…  Jake, Aiden, Scout, Danny, James, Georgie.  -Wiley. Amelia. -I get it.  So wouldn’t it be great if Violet could just come  and stay with us for a week or so?  She could be one of the “gang.”  And while she’s away from her father,  you two will have an opportunity to intervene.  The goal is to get Finn into rehab — and he’ll go  once he realizes his behavior is jeopardizing Violet.  I know he’ll do the right thing.  Look, of course, Violet is welcome to stay here.  But when it comes to Finn,  I think you need to be prepared for him to disappoint you.  I think you’re in the wrong apartment.  You’re out of line.  How do you know what I am?  You call this guy?  Do you really think that I would ever hurt you?  Elizabeth, what do you want to do?  Let’s go.  Please don’t go.  Let’s talk when you’re sober.  Hey! I st–  I stood by you —  through everything you went through!  When you were tearing up canvases  and shredding wedding dresses, I was there!  And now you want to walk out on me?  Good.  Leave your keys and go.

Days of Our Lives Update

Days of Our Lives logo

Update written by Joseph

Theresa and Brady wake up in bed together. Brady guesses this happened against his better judgment. Theresa asks if he has any regrets. Brady says surprisingly no. Theresa says she doesn’t either. Brady asks about Alex. Theresa jokes that this will show him. Brady questions if that’s what this was about. Theresa says they talked about this last night, how Alex doesn’t want to be exclusive and he’s still fooling around with Kristen. Theresa adds that they also talked about their connection and their chemistry that’s been there for a very long time. Theresa says she knows Brady feels the same. Brady responds that he feels used. Theresa tells him not to go all emo on him. Alex then knocks on the door and asks if Theresa is in there. Theresa tells him to come on in, so Alex walks in to find her in bed with Brady as he says he was wondering if they could talk.

At the Kiriakis Mansion, Xander talks with Justin about Maggie and Konstantin’s wedding. Justin says he’s busy helping Maggie with an important favor for the wedding which Xander questions.

Maggie, Bonnie, and Sarah walk through the town square together. Bonnie tells Maggie that she will make a beautiful bride. Sarah thanks Bonnie for treating them to a day at the salon, but reminds her that this is just a marriage of convenience so Konstantin can stay in the country. Bonnie says she’s a hopeless romantic and weddings always make her cry. Maggie says they can finish wedding shopping for her and thanks them as she exits, leaving Sarah confused and Bonnie jokingly calls her a runaway bride.

Steve is at home on the phone with Ava and thanks her for the update. Steve says he’ll feel a lot better when he knows Clyde is locked up and tells Ava to keep him posted as he hangs up. Steve then gets a call from John, who is outside the Kiriakis Mansion. John informs him that he’s on his way to the wedding but Konstantin asked to meet with him first. Steve questions why. John is sure it has something to do with his next move involving the Pawn and says he’ll let Steve know when he gets the details. John hangs up and then Konstantin arrives and shows him the card to try to turn him back in to the Pawn. Konstantin congratulates John on stealing the prenup and now he has a new job for him to do.

Xander asks Justin about the favor he’s doing for Maggie. Justin reveals that Maggie asked him to officiate the wedding. Xander questions why the hell he would agree to that and argues about how they are both against this wedding. Justin talks about this being a marriage in name only and how Maggie is only doing this to keep Konstantin in the country. Xander argues that it’s a reason not to do this and complains that Konstantin is tricking Maggie into marriage. Justin brings up the prenup being ironclad and assures that Konstantin will not get a dime of Maggie’s money. Xander doesn’t think that will stop Konstantin as he’s sure he’s got a bunch more tricks up his sleeve.

Konstantin tells John that it’s an easy task and reveals that he needs him to kill Maggie as he gives him a gun.

Maggie goes to see Steve and tells him that everything is all set and she’s initiated the transfer of funds from the Titan account so the trap is set. Steve asks if she’s sure she’s up for this. Maggie confirms that she is because Konstantin has lied to her from the moment he stepped in her house and now he’s going to pay.

Alex decides this can wait and he’ll come back later but Theresa stops him and says to just give her 30 minutes, then jokes that she might need an hour. Brady decides he has somewhere to be and hurries out of the room. Theresa gets out of bed and asks what Alex wanted to talk about.

Bonnie and Sarah sit together in the town square. Bonnie knows this isn’t a fairytale wedding but says they can still enjoy it. Bonnie then points out that Sarah is next and this will be a whole new beginning for her, Xander, and Victoria. Sarah then tells Bonnie that she would love it if she came to her wedding even though she and Xander don’t have the greatest history. Bonnie assures that’s all forgotten and admits she was secretly rooting for them ever since she saw her in Chicago. Sarah remembers Bonnie trying to convince her to tell Xander that Victoria was his daughter. Bonnie says the truth came out and now her, Xander, and Victoria can be a family. Bonnie declares that she would be honored to be at her wedding which Sarah says would mean a lot to them. Bonnie asks who else is on the guest list. Sarah thinks they are just keeping it small with family which she hopes includes Xander’s mom.

Xander tells Justin that this wedding cannot happen. Justin says it’s not up to them as Maggie made up her mind. Xander urges Justin to change his mind about officiating but Justin declares that this is what Maggie wants. Brady walks in and asks for coffee. Xander questions him being there. Brady says he’s here for the wedding too and questions why everyone has to get married in the Kiriakis Mansion like it’s the Great White Chapel of Salem. Xander comments on Brady’s mood and guesses it has something to do with Theresa.

Theresa tells Alex to talk to her. Alex says maybe they should talk some other time but Theresa insists. Theresa asks if Alex is upset because he found her in bed with Brady since he was doing that with Kristen. Alex reveals he’s not seeing Kristen anymore which surprises Theresa, who asks if Kristen broke it off. Alex states that Kristen just made him see what he really wants and that’s to be with Theresa only. Theresa thinks he’s just teasing but Alex insists that he’s dead serious. Alex declares that he’s kind of crazy about her. Theresa questions why he kept pushing her away then. Alex says Kristen was asking him the same question and he doesn’t really have an answer, but maybe he does. Theresa asks him to tell her. Alex responds that he just has this feeling that she’s keeping something from him.

John questions Konstantin wanting him to kill his wife. Konstantin explains that he wants him to do it after the wedding as soon as they are pronounced husband and wife, then John is to lead her outside to kill her. Konstantin remarks that he’ll be a groom and a widower in the same day and will only have Maggie’s millions to console him. John tells Konstantin that he is clear on what he is to do.

Bonnie questions Xander having a mom and asks what he says she’s like. Sarah says not much other than that she’s an alcoholic, a very difficult woman, and they don’t get along at all. Bonnie questions Xander wanting her at their wedding. Sarah clarifies that he doesn’t as it was her idea so he reluctantly agreed to it but she thinks it would be nice to have her in their lives and for Victoria to know her other Grandmother. Sarah suggests maybe Maggie could help her with her addictions. Bonnie jokes that it sounds like she had to twist Xander’s arm. Sarah admits he needed a little persuading but he wants to do what’s best for their daughter, so he gave her his mom’s phone number. Bonnie asks what she said when she called. Sarah admits she hasn’t called yet as she’s kind of nervous about it and asks what she says since she’s engaged to her son and the mother of her grandchild. Sarah worries about Xander’s mom being cold and distant or possibly blowing up at her. Bonnie decides she’s not scared, takes Sarah’s phone and calls Xander’s mom.

Xander tells Brady not to keep them in suspense and asks what Theresa did this time. Brady responds that he’s going to get ready for the wedding and walks out of the room. Justin encourages Xander to be a bit positive about this. Xander questions being positive about Maggie falling for Konstantin’s manipulations when she deserves so much better. Konstantin then walks in and greets them, asking if they have seen Maggie. Xander complains that he’s been conning Maggie since day one. Konstantin says that he and Maggie are very excited for the wedding. Xander accuses Konstantin of brainwashing Maggie in to thinking he cares about her while everyone else sees right through him. Konstantin argues that he doesn’t care what anyone else thinks of him. Xander calls him a big step down from Victor. Konstantin remarks that Xander doesn’t realize how in the dark he is.

John joins Steve and Maggie. Steve tells him that he’s just in time for their toast to exposing Konstantin for the fraud that he is. John agrees to drink to that and assumes they have news. Maggie confirms that they have Konstantin right where they want him. Steve declares that they can expose him and have him arrested before the wedding takes place. John is glad to hear that because Konstantin just summoned him and ordered The Pawn to kill Maggie as soon as she became his bride. John says he’s sorry but knows it doesn’t come as a shock. Maggie admits part of her hoped Konstantin wasn’t capable of doing something so awful. John says he taped their conversation but doesn’t know if there’s enough to use against him, so he thinks they should continue with their plan. John assures that Maggie will be safe and that Marlena has successfully deprogrammed him. John declares that they won’t let Maggie near Konstantin while Steve states that Konstantin will never see it ocming.

Theresa asks Alex why she would be keeping something from him. Alex says it’s just a feeling he has. Theresa asks if he means people talking around town, telling him that she’s a liar and a schemer. Alex says he doesn’t think of her like that and isn’t influenced by what anyone else thinks of her. Alex apologizes if it sounds like he doesn’t trust her. Theresa swears she’s not keeping anything from him. Alex decides that he believes her then. Alex then asks what about Brady since something obviously just went down. Alex questions if she’s going to keep seeing Brady. Theresa thinks back to Konstantin reminding her of their deal to share Victor’s fortune and changing Xander’s name to Alex on Victor’s will. Theresa then assures Alex that she won’t keep seeing Brady and that she was just doing that to upset Alex and to get back at him for what he was doing with Kristen. Alex admits that it worked and it upset him to see them together like that. Theresa apologizes. Alex says he was an idiot for getting involved with Kristen and he understands why she would try to get back at him. Theresa thanks him and says she’s really glad that he understands. Theresa then asks if he’s ready for more honesty. Alex says definitely. Theresa tells Alex that she wants to be with him and only him. Alex suggests they make a commitment to each other then which Theresa agrees with. Alex then asks Theresa to be his date to Maggie’s wedding. Theresa says she would love that. Alex says he’ll see her downstairs and exits. Theresa lays back on the bed in frustration and declares that if she wants to be the Kiriakis heiress, this is what she has to do. Brady returns and says he figured it’d be okay to come in after seeing Alex leave. Brady asks if Alex was upset to find out that Theresa doesn’t want to be exclusive with him. Theresa then reveals that she actually does want that. Brady calls that one hell of a 180. Theresa says she thought about it a bit more and open relationships are not her thing and she’s not really good at sharing so she hopes Brady understands. Brady asks about Alex seeing Kristen. Theresa tells him that’s over. Brady calls that quick and predictable. Theresa remarks that they weren’t a match made in Heaven. Brady guesses that means he and Theresa are over, not that it even began. Brady says they weren’t thinking clearly and it shouldn’t have happened. Brady blames himself for succumbing to her charms. Theresa admits both of them did. Theresa thinks it’s best that they just keep things simple for Tate’s sake. Brady recalls saying that and says they are cool now that she used him to get what she wanted. Brady repeats that he blames himself for doing what he swore he’d never do again. Brady apologizes and tells her that he will see her at the wedding as he walks out. Theresa tells herself that it’s okay and to just keep her eye on the prize as she had no choice but to let Brady go.

Bonnie’s call to Xander’s mom goes to voicemail so she leaves a message, introducing herself. Sarah takes the phone and takes over the message, admitting she was nervous to call and introducs herself as Sarah Horton, mentioning being engaged to her son and the mother of her grandchild. Sarah adds that she would love for her to meet Victoria here in Salem. Sarah says that she and Xander are getting married soon, so they would really love it if she came to the wedding and then hangs up. Bonnie encourages her to breathe.

Xander questions Konstantin saying he’s in the dark and asks what he thinks he doesn’t know. Konstantin claims that Victor detested him and treated him like dirt. Xander tells him to shut the hell up. Konstantin argues that Victor thought of Xander as a glorified gardener. Xander says that’s not true so Konstantin asks why Victor didn’t leave him a single penny in his will then. Steve and John join Brady in the living room where Maggie awaits. Bonnie goes over to Xander and comments on him being deep in thought. Xander asks where Sarah is since they were together. Bonnie says they were on their way but Sarah got called in to the hospital, but she assured that she’ll be there as soon as she can. Bonnie doesn’t think Sarah would mind her telling him but they called his mother. Xander asks if they spoke to her. Bonnie says they had no such luck and explains that she called since Sarah didn’t have the nerve, but it went to voicemail. Bonnie adds that Sarah left the sweetest voicemail about hoping she will attend their wedding. Bonnie adds that Sarah also mentioned that he and his mother don’t exactly get along. Bonnie knows it’s none of her business but agrees with Sarah that their daughter deserves to spend some time with her other Grandmother. Xander says they’ll see if she actually calls back. Bonnie guesses he’s hoping she doesn’t. Xander says that Sarah thinks it’s very important, so he’s not standing in the way but if it were up to him, he’d be fine if he never saw his mother again. Alex and Theresa enter the living room. Justin calls for everyone to take a seat so they can get started. Steve asks John if he thinks Konstantin is ready for what they have planned. John brings up that he showed him the Pawn card but has no idea they’ve already stacked the deck against him. Justin thanks everyone for coming and begins the ceremony. Justin asks if Maggie takes Konstantin to be her husband and she says “I do.” Justin then asks if Konstantin takes Maggie to be his wife. Brady and Theresa exchange looks. Konstantin says “I do.” Justin asks for the rings but his phone goes off and guesses he forgot to silent it. Maggie asks if everything is okay. Konstantin suggests he finish after he marries them. Justin reveals that he just received an alert from one of Titan’s accountants that a large sum of money is missing from Victor’s charitable trust. Maggie asks how that is possible. Justin explains that several withdrawals were made in the past few days. Maggie asks Konstantin about it but he says he doesn’t know anything. Justin points out that Konstantin has to authorize it so Maggie argues that he had to know but Konstantin insists that he didn’t. Xander stands up and accuses Konstantin of stealing Victor’s money. Justin asks if Maggie is sure no one else could’ve authorized these withdrawals. Maggie says she’s sure so she doesn’t understand. Justin says he will call the police to try and get some answers. Konstantin swears he had nothing to do with it and claims he’s being framed by Xander. Xander says he doesn’t work at Titan anymore so he couldn’t have done it. Konstantin then points his finger at Steve. Steve questions blaming him now. Konstantin argues that Steve and John killed his daughter. Konstantin tells Maggie that she has to believe that he did not do this and she knows what kind of man he is. Maggie responds that she was apparently wrong because the evidence is clear that he embezzled funds from her family’s company and he’s going to prison for it. Konstantin questions Maggie being in on this too and accuses Justin as well. Konstantin guesses they were all conspiring against him and declares that they will all pay for it. Konstantin turns to John with the card and commands The Pawn to take out his weapon. John stands and pulls out the gun. Konstantin orders John to shoot Steve and then turn the gun on himself, saying they deserve it for killing his daughter. Konstantin shouts for John to shoot and kill them all. John responds that he’s not his Pawn anymore and the only person he’s going to kill is him if he does anything stupid. John adds that if he killed Maggie like he ordered him too, he still would’ve ended up with nothing. Maggie then reveals the original prenup and guesses Konstantin was never expecting to see it again. Konstantin claims he can be explain but Maggie says she doesn’t want to hear anymore lies. Maggie questions him taking advantage of her grief over Victor and goes over how he pretended he was Victor’s friend and hoped she would fall for him. Maggie brings up Konstantin pretending to be her protector when Victoria was kidnapped. Steve accuses him of arranging that too which Konstantin calls absurd but John goes over what he did. Xander warns that he better hope the cops get there before he kills him. Maggie realizes it wasn’t Konstantin’s Greek enemies that kidnapped Victoria, but his accomplice. Maggie asks Konstantin who the hell it was. Theresa asks why it matters since he already admitted responsibility for the crime. Konstantin calls them all hypocrites and complains about Victor. Konstantin declares that he may not have gotten his revenge on them but he did on Victor. Konstantin then announces that he caused Victor’s death by sabotaging his plane and sending him to his grave.

Sarah said she knew Bonnie and Xander didn’t have the best relationship, but she wanted her to be there. Bonnie said she would be there. Sarah said she hoped Xander’s mother would be there too. She told Bonnie about Xander’s mother but was afraid to call her. Bonnie took the phone and called his mother. Steve talked to Ava about Clyde. John met with Konstantin at the Kiriakis mausoleum. Konstantin put the pawn card in front of John and handed him a gun. He told John to kill his wife. John said he knew what to do. He put the gun away. Maggie went to see Steve. She told him the money was Titan was transferred. Maggie said Konstantin thought he would get her money, but he would pay. John showed up and found out they had what they needed to get Konstantin arrested before the wedding. He said he was happy to hear that since Konstantin wanted him to kill Maggie when she married him. John said he taped the conversation, but he wasn’t sure if it was enough. Alex was upset to see Theresa in bed with Brady. When Alex was about to leave, Theresa told him to give her 30 minutes to an hour. Brady left the room. Theresa reminded Alex that he was with Kristen, so he didn’t have the right to be upset. Alex told her he and Kristen were over. He said Kristen made him see that he only wanted to be with Theresa. Theresa asked why he kept pushing her away. Alex said he had a feeling she was keeping something from him.

Konstantin went in the living room. Xander told him he wasn’t fit to marry Maggie. He said Konstantin was a big step down from Victor. Konstantin said he was in the dark about Victor. He said Victor hated Xander and thought he was nothing more than a gardener. Xander said that wasn’t true. Konstantin said Victor didn’t leave him anything in the will. Theresa told Alex that she wasn’t keeping anything from him. Alex said he believed her. He asked if she was going to keep seeing Brady. She thought about her conversation with Konstantin about scheming against Alex. Theresa told him she was with Brady to get back at him for being with Kristen. Alex said he understood why she did it. Theresa said she wanted to be with him. They decided to commit to each other. Alex left the room. Theresa said she had to do this if she wanted to be the Kiriakis heiress. Brady went back to Theresa’s room to find out if Alex was upset about her not wanting to be exclusive. Theresa told him she wanted a commitment with Alex. Brady was shocked and blamed himself for falling for her charms. She said it was best that they kept things simple for Tate and asked if they were cool. Brady said they were. He blamed himself for making the same mistake he swore he wouldn’t make. Brady left the room. Theresa told herself that she had to let him go. Sarah took the phone from Bonnie and left a message for Xander’s mother inviting her to the wedding. Everyone gathered in the living room for the wedding. Bonnie let Xander know that Sarah had to go to the hospital. She said they invited his mother to the wedding. He said he knew Sarah wanted it, but he was okay with never seeing her again. Justin told everyone to sit so the ceremony could begin. When Justin asked for the rings, he got an alert on his phone from Titan. He said money was missing from Victor’s trust which Konstantin was in charge of. Konstantin told Maggie that he was being framed. She said he was going to prison for embezzlement. When he realized Maggie and Justin were in on what happened he threatened to make them all pay. He took out the pawn card and told John to take out the gun. John took out the gun but raised it to Konstantin. Konstantin found out the original prenup was intact. Maggie yelled at him for taking advantage of her vulnerability over Victor’s death. Steve and John realized Konstantin was the one who had Victoria kidnapped. Xander threatened to kill Konstantin. Maggie wanted to know who was helping him. Theresa said it didn’t matter since he already admitted to what he did. Konstantin said they were all hypocrites. He said Victor wasn’t a saint and didn’t care that Catarina got caught in the crossfire of their war. Konstantin said he may not have been able to get revenge on them, but he did with Victor. He said he was caused Victor’s plane to crash.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

[dramatic music]

[groans] Mm. Hey.

Morning.

Whoa, whoa.

Yeah…whoa.

So against my better judgment, this happened, didn’t it?

Mm-hmm.

Any regrets?

Surprisingly, no.

Me neither.

What about Alex?

Well…[chuckles]

Mm-hmm?

This will show him. [laughs]

This will sh– this will show him? Is that what this was about, so you could show him?

What?

You serious?

Yeah.

Wow.

We talked– we talked about this. Last night, we talked about how Alex doesn’t want to be exclusive and he doesn’t want a commitment with me…

Right.

And he’s still fooling around with Kristen.

Yeah, no, I remember talking about all that. I do.

And we also talked about our connection.

Oh, yeah.

Our connection, Brady, yours and mine. Remember? And how we have this chemistry that’s… Been there for a really long time? I know you feel the same.

[sighs] You know what I feel right now? I feel used.

What?

I feel used.

Come on, don’t go all emo on me now, Brady.

Emo, what– [knock at door]

Theresa, you in there? [intriguing music]

Yeah, I am. Come on in.

Hey, I was wondering if we could…

Talk.

So since this wedding was scheduled for lunchtime, I assume there will be some sort of buffet?

Not sure.

Hmm, any chance the groom was involved in the catering?

I don’t think so.

Shame, could really go for some of that hot, flaming Greek cheese.

Saganaki?

Excuse me?

That’s what it’s called, the cheese dish. And as much as I’d like to go over the menu for the reception, I’m a little busy helping Maggie with an important favor– the wedding. [dramatic music]

What sort of favor?

Oh, Maggie, if that isn’t bridal hair, I don’t know what it is. Did I not tell you that Jean-Kevin was a miracle worker?

You did, about times. [laughter]

Oh, Maggie, you’re gonna make a beautiful bride.

Oh, oh, thank you, Bonnie. Thank you. Oh.

Bonnie, we really, really appreciate you treating us to a day at the salon, but… you know that this is just a marriage of convenience, right? Mom’s only marrying Konstantin so he can stay in the country. So you don’t have to make a huge deal of it.

Well, can I help it if I’m a hopeless romantic? I mean, weddings, even if I know they’re a big mistake and that they’re never gonna work out, they always make me cry. [chuckles]

Oh, wait a minute. Well, you know what? I got to go.

What? No, no, no.

Got to go.

We got to pick up the bridal cape.

Well, I’m sure the two of you can do it for me.

No.

OK?

Wait, but–

Thank you.

You sure–

Bye.

Bye. Bye?

What the hell?

Talk about a runaway bride. [chuckles, sighs]

I appreciate the update, Ava.

Yeah, we’ll all sleep a lot better knowing that Weston is locked up again. Uh-huh. Well, keep me posted. All right. [phone rings] Hey, buddy.

Hey, partner.

Are you on your way to the non-wedding?

Yeah, I am, but the groom asked to meet with me first.

Where are you?

I’m on the Kiriakis grounds out by the mausoleum.

Did he give you any idea why he wants to see you?

Nope, he did not, but I’m sure it has to do with his next move, which involves The Pawn. I’ll let you know as soon as I find out the details.

All right.

Oh, there you are. So why did you want to meet?

To show you this. [tense music]

First of all, I would like to congratulate you on your success on stealing back that prenup Maggie asked me to sign. And now I have a very… important job for you to do.

[soft orchestration] announcer: Like sands through the hourglass, so are the “Days of Our Lives.”

[intriguing music]

So what’s this favor Maggie asked?

She asked me to officiate at her wedding.

And you agreed?

Of course.

Why the hell would you do that, Justin?

You can’t honestly tell me that you are in favor of this marriage.

We both know that this is a marriage in name only. Maggie is only trying to help Konstantin stay in the country.

That’s all the more reason not to do this, Justin. The man’s scum. I mean, he swooped in on Maggie when she was vulnerable, when she was still in the throes of grieving Uncle Victor. And now he’s, what, tricking her into marriage?

Maggie knows how to take care of herself. Now, look, I wrote the prenup myself, OK? It is ironclad. So no matter whatever happens today, nothing will change on that front. Konstantin will not get one dime of Maggie’s money.

Do you think a piece of paper is gonna stop this guy? In the short time he’s been in Salem, he’s– he’s managed to worm his way into Uncle Victor’s house, and now he’s talked Maggie into becoming his wife. I mean, I’m damn sure he’s got a bunch of other tricks up his sleeve. [tense music]

And what do you want me to do with this?

It is an easy task. I need you to kill my wife.

Wow, Maggie. Did you run all the way over here?

I couldn’t wait to tell you. Everything is all set.

So you’ve initiated the transfer of funds from the Titan account?

I have indeed.

So the trap is set. [intriguing music] Are you sure you’re up for this, Maggie?

Yes, I’m–I’m sure. That man has lied to me from the moment he stepped foot into my house, thinking he could take my money. Now he’s the one that’s gonna pay.

Mm.

This can wait. I’ll come back later.

No, no, don’t. Just give me minutes. Well, actually, I don’t know. I might actually need an hour.

Yeah, you know what? Actually– actually, there’s somewhere that I’d rather be– anywhere else, actually. [dramatic music]

[clears throat] [inhales sharply] So…

What’d you– what’d you want to talk about?

Here. Listen.

Oh, thank you.

I know that this is not a fairy-tale wedding for Maggie and Konstantin, but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy all the bells and whistles, you know.

I suppose.

Oh, please, come on, the wedding. I mean, the flowers, the music, the vows, it’s all so beautiful. And, honey, you are next. This is gonna be a whole new beginning for you and Xander and this little angel there. [light music]

And speaking of my wedding…

I would love it if you came. I know that you and Xander don’t have the greatest history, but–

No, no, just don’t– not another word. Really, that’s all forgotten. And honestly, I was– I was secretly rooting for you guys ever since I saw you in Chicago with that baby bump. Oh!

Yes, yeah, when you– you tried to convince me to tell Xander that Victoria was actually his.

I tried very hard, and you wouldn’t listen. But, honey, the truth came out, and now you three– Xander, you, and the baby– can be as one as a family. And I’ll tell you something. I would be honored to be there the day you make it legal.

That would really mean a lot to us. It really would. [chuckles]

Oh, honey. Who else is on the guest list?

We’re just gonna keep it small, I think, just family, which I– I hope includes Xander’s mom.

This wedding cannot happen, mate.

It’s not up to us, Xander. Maggie has made up her mind.

Then change yours. Just tell her that you decided you can’t officiate. If there’s no one here to marry them–

I’m not going to do that. This is what Maggie wants, and I am not going to disappoint her. [footsteps tapping]

Is there coffee?

Yeah, there’s coffee. What are you doing here?

I’m here for the wedding, Xander. I assume that’s why you’re here too. By the way, why the hell does everyone have to get married in this house?

Someone’s in a mood.

You know, it’s like it’s the great white little chapel of Salem or something.

I’m guessing it has something to do with Theresa. Am I right? [intriguing music]

So talk to me. What’s up?

Maybe we should talk some other time.

No, no. Come on! You’re not upset ’cause you found me in bed with Brady, are you? Hmm? ‘Cause you were doing that with Kristen.

No, actually, I’m not seeing Kristen anymore.

What? Really? What, did she– she broke it off?

No, she just made me see what I really wanted.

And what’s that?

To be with you– only with you.

Come on. You’re just teasing.

I’m not teasing you. I’m dead serious. In fact, I am kind of crazy about you.

Really?

Really.

Then why did you keep pushing me away and just keeping me at arm’s length?

I don’t know, but Kristen was asking me that same question. I don’t really have an answer for it. But maybe I do.

What? Tell me, please.

I just have this feeling that you’re–

What? That I’m what?

You’re keeping something from me.

You want me to kill your wife?

After the wedding. As soon as my bride-to-be and I have been pronounced man and wife, you are to lead her outside and make certain that death doth us do part. [tense music]

After the wedding?

See, I will be a groom and a widower on the same day, and I will only have Maggie’s millions to console me.

So you are clear, Pawn, on what you are to do?

I’m clear.

Hmm. Xander has a mom, huh? I mean, it makes sense. I mean, it’s not like he was spawned from a set of bagpipes, right? [laughter]

Nope, nope. He–[chuckles] He definitely came into the world like we all do.

Well, so what did he say she’s like?

Not much, honestly. [clears throat] That she’s a– she’s an alcoholic, a very difficult woman, and she and Xander don’t get along at all.

And he wants her at your wedding?

Well– well, no, no, not technically. It was my idea. I just–he reluctantly agreed to it, but I don’t know. I think it would be nice to have her in our lives and, you know, for Victoria to get to know her other grandmother. And who knows? Maybe my mom could help her with her addiction.

Hmm. Mm.

Hmm.

Mm.

Mm.

Sounds like you had to twist your groom’s big, strong arm.

Wait, no. Xander needed a little bit of persuading, just, like, a little bit. Nothing–OK.

Mm-hmm.

He just wants to do what’s best for our daughter. So he– he gave me her phone number. [light music]

What did she say when you called?

Well, I haven’t– I haven’t yet. I– I don’t know. I’m quite–I’m– I’m quite nervous about it.

What do I say? Like, hi, I’m Sarah Horton. I’m your son Xander’s fiancée– oh, and also the mother of your grandchild. You know, like, what if she– what if she’s very cold and distant? Or worse, what if she blows up at me? I mean, Xander said that she’s quite a tough woman.

Hmm.

[sighs]

I’ll tell you one thing– just some old advice. I’m not scared about it.

Bonnie.

No!

Don’t you–Bonnie, stop it.

No, shh, it’s ringing.

I really should be the one that’s calling.

Shh. [line rings]

Well, don’t keep us in suspense. What did Theresa do this time?

I’m gonna get ready for the wedding.

Wish I could tell him not to bother.

Xander, can you try and be just a bit positive about this?

Positive? What is there to be positive about, Justin? Maggie falling victim to the manipulations of a two-bit Zorba? She deserves so much better.

Gentlemen, what a lovely day for a wedding, is it not? Has anyone seen my lovely bride?

Your lovely bride whom you’ve been conning since the moment you first laid eyes on her? That lovely bride?

Maggie and I are very excited about our upcoming nuptials.

If Maggie is excited, it’s because you’ve brainwashed her into thinking you care about her. Everyone else can see right through you, mate, with the possible exception of your lovely bride. Isn’t that right, Justin? You want to jump in here?

Xander–

Jump in and say what? Do you think I care about what any of you think of me, huh?

Well, you’re gonna hear it anyway.

[scoffs] You’re not fit to dust her figurines, Meleounis. And you sure as hell are a big step down from my Uncle Victor.

Oh, you think I’m not as good as Victor Kiriakis?

Not even close.

You know, Xander, you are like a blind man in a cavern, huh? You don’t realize how in the dark you are. [tense music]

Hey, buddy.

Hey.

Just in time for our toast.

Yeah? What are we– what are we drinking to?

To exposing Konstantin for the fraud that he is.

Well, now, I will drink to that. [laughter] So I’m assuming that the two of you have got some news.

Yes, we do. We have that snake right where we want him.

Now we can expose him and have him arrested before the wedding actually takes place.

Oh, I’m glad to hear that, because that snake just summoned me to the mausoleum on the Kiriakis grounds, and he ordered The Pawn to kill Maggie as soon as she became his bride.

Oh, God.

Yeah, I know. I’m sorry, Maggie, but this really doesn’t come as a shock to any of us, does it?

No, no, it’s not a shock. It’s just that there was a part of me that was hoping that– that he wasn’t capable of doing something so awful.

Hmm, well, I taped our conversation, but I don’t know if there’s gonna be enough to use against him, so I’m thinking we just need to continue on with our plan here. Now, you’re gonna be safe. Doc has successfully deprogrammed me. Besides, we’re not gonna let you anywhere near that guy, not for a second.

No. That son of a bitch will never see it coming when we lower the boom.

OK, I’ll drink to that. [glasses clink]

I don’t understand. Why would I be keeping something from you?

[scoffs] I don’t know, Theresa. It’s just a feeling I have.

And this feeling is what? It’s just people talking around town, telling you that I’m a liar and a schemer?

I don’t think of you like that at all. In fact, I’m not influenced by what anybody would say about you or anybody else, for that matter. I’m sorry if it sounds like I don’t trust you.

Well, it does feel that way.

Mm.

I swear, I’m not keeping anything from you.

OK. OK, I believe you.

What about Brady?

What about Brady?

Well, obviously something just went down when I walked in here, so…

Maybe it’s not my place to ask, but… are you gonna keep seeing him?

Why don’t you just mind your own business and worry about your own wedding?

No, no, no, but your wedding is my business, my dear, because after you become Alexander’s wife, you will generously share Victor’s fortune with me.

Yeah, thanks to the devil’s bargain I was stupid enough to make with you.

It was your idea to make it look like Alex’s name was on the letter instead of Xander’s, huh?

No, no. [chuckles] No, I was just doing that to upset you because I wanted to get back at you for what you were doing with Kristen.

Ah. Yeah. It worked. Obviously it upset me to see the two of you together… like that.

I’m sorry.

[scoffs] There’s no need to be. I was an idiot for getting involved with Kristen the way I did, and… I understand why you would try and get back at me.

Thank you. I’m really glad you understand.

Mm.

[clears throat] And… now for some more honesty, if you’re ready for it.

Definitely.

Alex… I want to be with you too– only you.

OK. Well, now that we have both admitted how each of us feel…

Yes?

Do you think maybe, you know, this would be a commitment that we make to each other? I don’t know, is “commitment” too strong of a word?

No, I think it works.

OK, good. Me too. Now that that’s established, will you do the honor of joining me as my date and the woman to whom I’m committed to Maggie’s wedding?

I would love that. [chuckles]

Good.

Just give me a bit to get ready?

Yeah. I’ll see you downstairs.

Mm-hmm. Brush your teeth.

[sighs]

[breathes deeply]

Do you want to be the Kiriakis heiress? This is what you have to do.

[knock at door]

Hi. I saw Alex leave, so I figured it’d be OK to come in.

Yeah, sure.

So was he upset to find out that you don’t want to be exclusive with him?

Actually… I do want that.

Wow, I mean, that was one hell of a , Theresa.

Yeah, well… [dramatic music] I thought about it a bit more, and… open relationship’s just not my thing. Like you pointed out, I’m not really good at sharing, so I hope you understand.

Sure, sure. But didn’t– [chuckles] Didn’t you tell me that Alex was seeing Kristen?

No, that’s over.

Oh, that’s–wow. That was quick, right? Predictable, I guess.

Yeah, well, they’re not really a match made in heaven.

No, no. To put it mildly, no. But I guess that means that this– I mean, you and I are, I mean– it’s over? Not that it–[chuckles] Not that it even began, because of what happened. It’s just, we weren’t thinking clearly, right? I mean, hey, I know I wasn’t thinking clearly. And it shouldn’t– I mean, come on, it shouldn’t have happened. It shouldn’t have happened. It did, but it shouldn’t have. I blame myself. Oops, I succumbed to your charms.

We both succumbed– both of us, Brady.

Look, like you said, I think– I think it’s best that we just keep things simple, for Tate’s sake.

Yeah, I recall saying that.

So are we cool or–

Yeah. Yeah, we’re cool. Now that you’ve used me to get exactly what you want, we’re cool.

Brady. Brady, don’t–

No, hey, I blame myself. I told you. I told you I blame myself for making the same mistake that I swore I’d never make again!

I’m sorry. I’ll see you at the wedding, OK?

Oh. [sighs] It’s OK. Just keep your eye on the prize, girl. Just keep your eye on the prize. You had no choice. You had to let him go. You had no choice.

Hello. This is Bonnie Kiriakis, and I’m– Oh.

What?

Voicemail, one of those computer-generated voices. I have to wait for the beep. Oh, there–hello. Yes, this is Bonnie Kiriakis, and I’m actually married to your son’s first cousin Justin, which makes us– I’m not sure what that makes us but–

Just give it to me.

Oh, OK.

Hi. Hi. Sorry. [chuckles] Sorry. That was my–my friend. She was helping me get– well…[sighs] I was– well, I was…[chuckles] Just quite nervous about calling you. Hi. Sorry. My name is Sarah Horton. I–I’m engaged to your son Xander, and also, I’m the mother of… your grandchild, who’s just a beautiful little girl named Victoria whom we’d love for you to meet here in Salem. Well, Xander and I are getting married soon, and we would– we would really love it if you came to the wedding. OK.

Oh. Oh, no, don’t, don’t, don’t. [inhales deeply] Breathe. [tense music]

What do you mean I’m in the dark?

What the hell is it you think I don’t know?

That Victor detested you, his own flesh and blood, and he treated you like dirt.

You shut the hell up about my uncle.

He thought of you as nothing more than as a glorified gardener.

That is not true.

Really? Then why didn’t he even mention you in his will, huh? Huh? Why are you defending a man who thought you so– so worthless that he didn’t even leave you a single penny?

[light string music]

Hey, buddy.

Dad, Steve, didn’t I– didn’t I see you arriving with Maggie outside?

Yeah, actually, we ran into her when she was making sure everything was set up for the big event.

So we gave her a ride home. [chuckles]

Hey, Xander. Xander. Ooh, ooh. [chuckles] Hello. Anybody home? [chuckles]

Oh, Bonnie, hey.

Hey, hey. You were deep in thought. Everything OK?

Yeah, everything’s fine. Where’s Sarah? I know you were together at the salon all morning.

Oh, yeah, yeah, we were, and we were on our way over here, but her phone rang, and it was the hospital, and there was some sort of emergency, so she had to rush over there. Life of a doctor, right? [chuckles]

Always on call.

Yeah, on her mother’s wedding day too. So sad. But she wanted me to tell you that she would be here as soon as she possibly could. And she asked me to bring little Victoria, which, of course, I did. But she was sound asleep, so I put her in the porta-crib.

Thanks, Bonnie.

No problem. And I don’t think Sarah would mind me telling you this, but… we called your mother. [chuckles]

Did you speak to her?

Ugh, no such luck. I actually called because Sarah, she didn’t have the nerve to take the plunge, and got her voicemail. And I was leaving a message, and I was rambling on, as I usually do. So Sarah grabbed the phone, and she left the sweetest message. She told your mother that she would hope that she would attend your wedding.

I see.

[clears throat] Sarah also mentioned that you and your mother don’t exactly get along, that, well, she’s a bit of a boozer and kind of difficult. And I know it’s none of my business, but just for my two cents’ worth, I agree with Sarah. I think your daughter deserves to spend some time with her other grandmother.

Yeah, well, we’ll see if my mum actually calls back.

Well, I know Sarah’s hoping she will, but I’m guessing you’re hoping otherwise?

Sarah thinks it’s very important for my mum to be at our wedding, so… I’m not standing in the way. But if it were up to me, I’d be fine if I never saw that woman again. [tense music] [light string music]

OK, can we please take a seat and get started here?

You think Konstantin is ready for what we have planned?

Well, he has shown us his Pawn card, and he has no idea that we’ve already stacked the deck against him.

Family and friends, thank you for coming. We are gathered here today to unite this couple in marriage. So without further ado, do you, Margaret Horton Kiriakis, take this man, Konstantin Meleounis, to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold in sickness and in health, for richer or for poorer, till death do you part?

I do.

And do you, Konstantin Meleounis, take this woman, Margaret Horton Kiriakis, to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold in sickness and in health, for richer or for poorer, until death do you part?

I do.

May I have the rings? [phone beeps]

Really?

I’m so sorry. I must have forgotten to silence it. Oh, wait. This isn’t right. [tense music]

Justin, what is it? Is everything OK?

Perhaps you could finish this after you marry us.

No, I just received an alert from one of Titan’s accountants. Apparently a large sum of money is missing from Victor’s charitable trust.

[gasps] Well, how is that possible?

There were several withdrawals made these past few days.

Do you know anything about this?

Of course not.

But, Konstantin, don’t you have to authorize every transaction?

Yes, he does. Konstantin, you had to know that this money was being moved.

But I didn’t.

Good God, man. It’s not enough for you to crawl out from under some rock and slime your way into my uncle’s house? You had to steal his money too?

Maggie, are you sure there isn’t anyone else who could have authorized these withdrawals?

I’m sure. I just–I don’t understand.

I’ll call the police. Maybe they can help get us some answers.

The police? I swear, I had nothing to do with this. I am being framed.

Framed? By who?

By this man.

Me?

You have made no secret of hating me.

Now, that’s true, but I don’t work at Titan anymore. I couldn’t have done this.

It was someone. [panting] It was him, Mr. Johnson.

Really? You’re blaming me now?

Why not? You had no qualms about hurting me. You and John killed my daughter! Maggie, you’ve got to believe me. I did not do this. You know what kind of man I am.

Well, apparently I was wrong about that, because the evidence is very clear. You embezzled funds from my family’s company, and you’re going to prison for it.

Oh, my–

Oh, my God! You are in on this too, aren’t you? And you as well!

I see. You are all conspiring against me. Well, you will all pay for it. Pawn! I command you to take out your weapon.

[gasps] Oh!

Now shoot Steve Johnson, and turn the gun on yourself.

They deserve it for killing my daughter!

Shoot! Shoot, Pawn! Kill them! Kill them all!

I’m not your Pawn anymore, and the only person I’m gonna kill is you if you do anything stupid. And you should know that if I killed Maggie as you just ordered me, you still would have wound up with nothing because the original prenup…

Is right here.

[sighs]

Steffy: Okay.

Liam: Oh man, thank you. Thank you for gathering all that up. By the way, I really didn’t mean to steal you away from work.

Steffy: Oh, it’s fine. I needed a break from the office anyway. Um, okay. So there are snacks in the fridge and it’s gluten-free. Kelly needs to take them to her soccer practice and some of the kids are gluten-free, so…

Liam: Uh, got it. I’m on it. Are you okay?

Steffy: It’s just, no last time I accidentally brought granola and like the parents were really mad at me. So I just really don’t want to mess this up.

Liam: I’m not– I just– hey, I’m not talking about the granola. I just mean, you’re kind of in a mood.

[ Steffy sighs ]

Steffy: Yeah. Yeah, I am. It’s– it’s because finn and hope.

Hope: This is helping. Thank you.

Finn: It is?

Hope: Mm-hmm. Very much so.

Finn: Well, good. You know, um, I’m a little concerned on these migraines you’re getting.

Hope: I know. And I know I need to be doing the stress management better.

Finn: Yeah, I believe I told you to take care of yourself. You being a bad patient, not taking doctor’s orders?

Hope: Maybe, but I will try harder. I promise.

Ridge: Brooke logan and steffy forrester running this company. It’s the best. It’s a dream team.

Brooke: If we could get along.

Ridge: You can get along. There’s gonna be some problems along the way, of course. But you’re gonna figure it out. You’re gonna do what’s best for the company. Plus, I’m gonna be right there. I won’t be right there. I’ll be next door. But if there’s a problem, I’ll be there and I’ll stop my designing and I’ll come help you guys.

Brooke: Hmm. Well, I’m flattered that you would think of me to step in and lend a hand.

Ridge: Don’t be flattered by it. You’re the best person for the job.

Brooke: It means a lot to me that you would recognize my contribution to this company.

Ridge: So what do you say? Is it a yes? Will you help lead forrester again?

Ridge: Will you do it? Will you bring your vision, your talent to work, please. There’s no one better.

Brooke: Like I told you, I am very flattered. Forrester creations means a lot to me. It’s very important to me and you know that. Brings a huge smile to my face. And yes, it would be such an honor. Part of me wants to say yes.

Ridge: Part of you wants to say yes? I don’t know what that– what do you–

Brooke: Well, I’m sure years ago I would’ve jumped at the opportunity. And who knows, maybe again in the future I will. But right now, it just– it doesn’t feel like the right time.

Liam: Well, uh, I don’t wanna choose sides here. ‘Cause I obviously have nothing but respect for you as a businesswoman. I’m sure you’ve got legitimate reasons for thinking of cutting hope for the future. I’m just a little concerned about hope only because I know how much that line means to her, and…

Steffy: Well, we can’t let personal feelings get in the way of business decisions.

Liam: No, I– yes, I recognize that. I just– um, I think I’m missing something because why is finn even involved in this?

Steffy: That’s a good question. He shouldn’t be. And you know I love my husband and he cares about people. The problem is he cares too much. Look, he doubted my decision and he defended hope. And frankly, I think my husband needs to stay in his own lane.

Hope: Uh, thank you. I really do appreciate you taking time out of your day to help me with this.

Finn: No, it’s all good. Look, my hands aren’t tired. I can– I can keep going.

Hope: Uh, that’s really sweet of you, but I– I am– I’m feeling much better now. Thank you.

Finn: Yeah? Glad I helped?

Hope: Yes, you certainly did. Ready to switch?

Ridge: You’re turning me down.

Brooke: Oh, I don’t want you looking at it that way.

Ridge: How am I supposed to look at it? It’s a great opportunity. I thought you’d jump at it.

Brooke: Of course, it’s an incredible opportunity. And I’m probably crazy for turning it down, but–

Ridge: But what? What is this about, really? Is it steffy?

Steffy: I love my husband. I really do. But just some of the choices that he’s making lately, it’s– ah, crazy.

Liam: Yeah, I mean, it’s gotta be tough having to tolerate your husband being genuinely torn between you and a woman who shot you. Both. It’s just– I’m not– it’s just– it’s a bug. It’s a bug in the relationship. That’s all.

Steffy: Yeah. It is a bug. But finn and I, we will survive this.

Liam: You will, if you have a plan. She’s gonna try to manipulate him again. What are you gonna do? I mean, she’s not gonna stop at him being there at her wedding, right? She’s gonna keep pushing and pushing for more involvement.

Steffy: Involvement she’ll never have. No, finn knows where I stand. And look, I– I agree with you. I really do. Look, I know that finn is struggling with this– with this tie to his biological mother. But the one thing I do know is that his tie to me is a lot stronger.

Liam: Good. Just, you know, keep your guard up. The sheila problem’s not going away on its own.

Steffy: I’m well aware. Sheila’s causing problems without her even knowing it. Her latest being bringing finn and hope closer together.

[ Hope exhales ]

Hope: Well, uh, if you ever decide to switch careers, might I suggest massage therapy?

Finn: You really think so? Felt that good, huh?

Hope: Uh, you certainly have a way with your hands, yes.

Finn: Well, I mean, it’s just basic pressure point therapy. I mean, I can show you how to do it if you like, on your own. So then if you feel a headache coming on, you don’t have to you know, waste your time tracking me down.

Hope: I mean, I– I will try my best, but I have a feeling I won’t be as effective. It– it’s probably like making a sandwich. Well, like, a sandwich always tastes better when someone else makes it for you.

Finn: Yeah. Yeah, I guess it does, huh? That’s true. So, okay. Well, in that case, feel free to seek me out. Symptoms still subsiding?

Hope: Yeah. I mean, it’s, uh, practically gone.

Finn: Good. Good, I’m glad to hear that. You’ve gotta find a way to relieve some of the stress in your life. I wasn’t joking about doctor’s orders earlier. It’s important. Find some time for yourself, okay? You hear me?

Hope: I, um, I will try.

Finn: You need to more than try. I’m serious, hope. I’m concerned about you. If advanced lung cancer

Ridge: So you don’t wanna do this because you don’t wanna work with steffy?

Brooke: That is part of the reason, yes. I’m not saying I would have an issue with it. Because I wouldn’T. I think it would be the other way around. Steffy has been on a rampage lately. She’s been drumming up forrester versus logan. And she’s been targeting hope and her line. And I– I just feel like the office would turn into a battlefield.

Ridge: A battlefield? Wow. No, it’s gonna be a mild skirmish at best.

Brooke: It’s not like I don’t wanna be involved. Because I do. And maybe we can have a conversation about what that would look like. I don’t wanna work side by side with steffy. I don’t wanna threaten her in any way.

Steffy: Hope’s influence has been very unhealthy to say the least.

Liam: Her influence on what? Finn?

Steffy: Yes. Every time hope and finn hang out, he comes back with these thoughts like maybe sheila has changed.

Liam: And you’re saying you think that’s because of hope?

Steffy: Absolutely. I think hope is getting in my husband’s head.

Liam: I mean, uh, if I had to bet, uh, maybe hope’s thinking that because she got this second chance with her deadbeat parent, that finn deserves the same opportunity, or…

Steffy: No, that’s– that’s exactly what she’s thinking. Hope thinks, I mean she’s delusional, but she’s really thinking that sheila is exactly like her father, that loser. But no. No. You know what she is? She’s a dangerous psychopath.

Liam: Yeah, but hope knows that. I mean, she used to know that.

Steffy: She not only knows that, she truly believes that sheila’s changed. Liam, that is really disturbing and it’s the last thing my husband needs to hear.

Liam: Yeah, you got me. I mean, for the life of me, I can’t imagine a single reason hope would ever give sheila the benefit of the doubt. I– I–

Steffy: You know, I have a theory. I think hope spending all this time with my husband and hope thinking that sheila’s changed, I really believe that she is trying to cause problems between finn and me.

Hope: Uh, as much as i appreciate your concerns, finn, and trust me, I do appreciate it, I don’t want you to be worrying about me. I don’t wanna be the source of any unnecessary tension in your life, because I have a sneaking suspicion that steffy probably won’t like the idea of you offering me medical advice, let alone hanging out with me, let alone even speaking to me about anything, ever.

Finn: I– I know that you and steffy butt heads now and then. I– I get that. But she knows and supports my desire to help people. I mean, even a dreaded logan. And hey, look, when I advise you to take some time for yourself, or to do whatever is necessary to decrease the stress in your life, I’m not just saying that as a doctor, I’m saying it as a friend. Hope, I care about you, and– and I know that you have– you had some struggling times lately with lots of change.

Hope: Tell me about it, it, uh, it feels like whiplash.

Finn: Well, look, even though you’ve been through a struggle lately, I’m confident you can handle it. You are a strong, capable woman. You have lots of family to lean on, not to mention friends like me. So, look, when life starts to feel overwhelming or you feel another headache coming on, just know that I will always be here for you. No, I– I genuinely no, I– I genuinely appreciate the meaning behind hope for the future. I mean, infusing a social message with your line and making a difference in the betterment of people’s lives, I just– how could I not admire you? Respect you. You fully embody the name of your line. Hope for the future. Headache?

Hope: Yeah.

Finn: Yeah. Yeah.

Steffy: Here’s a look at what’s ahead.

Katie: Well, look at you. A whole new family.

Steffy: You don’t find it a little strange that hope is spending so much time with finn?

Hope: I can’t stop thinking about you.

Traci: Ashley? Alan? Where are they? Ashley! Alan! Ashley? Ashley? Alan? Oh, okay, where are they? Where are they? Uh, ashley? Ash–

[ Knock on door ] Thank god. Thank god. What are you doing here? What do you want?

Tucker: Well, hello, traci. I didn’t know you were in paris.

Traci: What are you doing here, tucker?

Tucker: I came to see alan. What are you doing here? Are you and ashley staying with him?

Traci: What do you wanna see alan about?

Tucker: I have a couple questions for him. How is ashley? Is she here?

Traci: Um, sorry, tucker. I am not at liberty to talk to you about ashley right now.

Tucker: Traci, I spoke to her on the phone earlier, and she did not sound okay.

Traci: I appreciate that you’re concerned about her, and I understand, but you also promised her that you would respect her privacy, so can you do that for her right now?

Tucker: Not if the fear I heard in her voice was real. No, I can’T. May I come in?

Traci: Oh, uh, no, it’s kind of late, don’t you think?

Tucker: It’s okay, I’m kind of jet-lagged.

Traci: How did you find alan’s address?

Tucker: Oh, I found it because I found it. I’m gonna ask you again. Where is ashley? Is she with alan?

Traci: You can ask me that all night.

Tucker: Okay. Well, if they went out, they’ll have to come back at some point.

Traci: What do you want to ask alan about?

Tucker: I wanna know why he acted like he’d never seen me before in his life when I bumped into him earlier. And I’d like to know why ashley, his pseudo-patient, sounded terrified on the phone. Are you absolutely certain alan can be trusted?

[ Alan panting ] I’ll be honest.

Announcer: Additional sponsorship provided by…

Traci: Yes, alan can be trusted. Ashley trusts him completely. I trust him completely.

Tucker: So, why do you think he would act like he never laid eyes on me when I bumped into him on the street?

Traci: I have no idea.

Tucker: What’s going on, traci?

Traci: What do you mean?

Tucker: Something is off with you. You seem rattled, anxious.

Traci: Oh, I do? Thank you, dr. Mccall. You and alan should actually set up a practice together.

Tucker: So everything’s hunky-dory, is it? Ashley’s making good progress with alan?

Traci: I am trying really hard to be patient with you, tucker. I appreciate that you care about my sister, and I believe that your intentions are good.

Tucker: Well, then talk to me. If you believe my intentions are good, there’s nothing you can’t tell me.

Traci: Well, that might be true, but as this is a private family matter and I am respecting her wishes, I won’t tell you.

Tucker: If she needs anything, a new doctor, anything, put me to work. I’ll make it happen.

Traci: I’m sorry, tucker. This is not your place anymore.

Tucker: Well, this all started when ashley and I were still together, and this is the second time she’s come to paris for answers, so I’m not sure it isn’t my place.

Traci: Is that why you followed her here?

Tucker: I didn’t follow her here.

Traci: Right, right. Coincidence.

Tucker: Yes, actually. I was already coming on business when jack happened to mention she was here.

Traci: Well, if that’s true, I’m sure that jack didn’t tell you this so that you’d come and get involved.

Tucker: That’s true, but jack didn’t hear what I heard in ashley’s voice.

Traci: And what was that exactly?

Tucker: Fear.

[ Traci sighing ]

Traci: Tucker, you are sticking your nose in where it doesn’t belong. You’ve got to let this go. She is in good hands.

Tucker: I prefer to see that for myself.

Traci: Okay, look, I appreciate that you really care deeply for my sister. I do. I really do. I always have, but maybe you’re taking whatever you heard in her voice out of context. This therapy with alan, from the outside, it doesn’t look pretty, but he has been able to help her retrieve really traumatic memories. She just needs a little time to process this.

Tucker: And you don’t see any conflict of interest in this? That an old friend of hers is suddenly acting as her therapist? I also find it a– a strange convergence of events that he would suddenly pop back into her life at the exact same time as these so called traumatic events. You don’t see any possibility of an ulterior motive here, really? No agenda?

Traci: No, no. Tucker, I’m the one who called him in to help. He’s just helping. This isn’t pretty, but in the end, she’s gonna be better.

Tucker: What about you?

Traci: What about me?

Tucker: Am I taking your anxiety out of context, too?

Traci: Oh, no. It’s just strong coffee.

Tucker: Is it? No. You’re afraid.

Traci: Of?

Tucker: Whatever you’re not telling me. It’s curious that you claim to trust alan implicitly, and yet you won’t tell me where he and ashley are. If everything were above board, that would be no problem, would it?

Traci: Look, not everything is an intrigue. Some things are just private because they’re private.

Tucker: And you’re sure this is one of them? Because I can’t help but wonder why, when I ran into him on the street, dr. Laurent would act as if I were a complete stranger. And I’ve been turning it over and over in my head. It doesn’t fit anything in my playbook. Because if I were him, I’d wanna keep me close before I took what I wanted. Why give away the game? Whatever he’s setting me up for, why play it this way? So, I have a feeling alan’s work with ashley isn’t quite what it appears to be. And I think you do, too.

[ Alan grunting ]

[ Alan panting and grunting ]

Traci: The work that alan is doing with ashley, the look of it is just part of the story. I’ve been to every single session. And you know how she can sound sometimes. But I have to believe that everything is to a positive and therapeutic purpose. And as to your run-in with alan on the street, people can not recognize other people for any number of reasons, hardly any of them nefarious. Maybe he just didn’t expect to see you in paris, so it just didn’t compute.

Tucker: Or maybe he just doesn’t like me.

Traci: Well.

Tucker: I’m sure ashley has told him some glowing things about me.

Traci: And you’re usually so good at making friends. And on that topic, did you come to paris with your fiancé?

Tucker: No, audra and I have hit a bit of a snag.

Traci: Oh, I didn’t know.

Tucker: Traci, are you gonna give me any straight answers?

Traci: Just because you’re not getting the answers you want doesn’t mean I’m not being straight with you. And I am under no obligation whatsoever to share any of my sister’s private business with you. That is her story to tell. She will decide what to share and not to share.

Tucker: Okay. Maybe you’re right. Maybe it is none of my business. But I’ll tell you what, it should be. Because despite myself, and to my detriment, I continue to care about her. And my concern for her well-being is one of the reasons I’m not here with audra. And despite all the animosity I get from the abbotts, present company excluded, of course, I keep coming back to get kicked around because I care about ashley. So, here I am, in the city of light. And instead of strolling the champs-elysées with audra, I’m sitting here in this strange man’s townhouse watching you drink coffee in the middle of the night.

Traci: Okay, well, I hate to disappoint you, tucker, but as you say, it is the middle of the night. So please, feel free to go at any time. Because I have a feeling that you will still care about my sister in the morning.

Tucker: I have a feeling you’re right. But since I’m just gonna come back and ask the same questions… you think alan would mind if I just–

Traci: Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no. L-bas. Bon soir, tucker.

[Coughing]

[ Alan grunting ]

[ Alan panting ]

Tucker: Okay, I’ll go. But think about this, traci. You’re here to help ashley. Now, I’m here to help. So, you don’t have to do this alone. And I trust you, so if you say alan is legit, I’ll go on your word.

Traci: Thank you, tucker.

Tucker: But my mind won’t be put at ease until I see for myself.

Traci: That’s fine.

Tucker: By the way, you never answered my first question.

Traci: What question?

Tucker: Are you and ashley staying here with alan?

Traci: No, we’re staying at ashley’s apartment.

Tucker: So, what are you doing here so late?

Traci: Well, there’s that nose again where it doesn’t belong.

Tucker: But I wouldn’t find ashley at her apartment now, would I?

Traci: No?

Tucker: Three cups, traci. Three cups.

Martin: Well done. I knew I could do it.

Ashley: Do what?

Martin: Crack the code. Solve the riddle.

Ashley: What are you talking about?

Martin: My brother thought he had all the answers. Played god with his patients. Let them think he knew best, but I knew best. I know best. And you just helped me prove it.

Ashley: Helped you prove what?

Martin: Well, as they say, if you, uh, figure it out, you will be my favorite subject.

Ashley: You’re martin.

[ Ashley groaning ]

Martin: Stop it. Stop it.

Ashley: What are you gonna do to me?

Martin: Shh, be quiet, be quiet. I told you to be quiet or it’s gonna go bad for you.

Ashley: Help!

Traci: Upstairs!

Martin: I told you to be quiet. You used to listen to me.

Ashley: Where are alan and traci, what have you done?

Martin: What does it matter?

Ashley: Did you hurt them?

Martin: I am the one who cured you, not alan. Do you understand that? I am the one who’s smarter. I’m the one who’s better.

Ashley: You need help.

Martin: What did you just say?

Ashley: I said alan loves you, he’ll help you, martin.

Martin: Not another word!

[ Ashley screaming ]

Traci: Ashley! Oh, my god. What?

Alan: Martin?

Traci: Oh, my god.

Martin: Don’t come any closer.

Alan: I don’t wanna fight you, martin, okay? But you need help.

Martin: Yeah. Because anyone different from you, smarter than you, is delusional, right? Broken. But I am not broken. I am smarter than you and just as sane.

Alan: Let’s just go down to the living room and talk about it, okay?

Martin: What, so you can call them up and have them take me away and lock me up again?

Alan: It doesn’t have to be like that, martin. We can find a different way.

Martin: We? The magnificent laurent brothers. You cannot help me and you never could.

Alan: It doesn’t have to be me, okay? But you just can’t go on like this, really.

Martin: I’ve never felt more alive. You know what I want, alan? And what I’ve always wanted? Is to be an only child.

[ Alan and martin grunting ]

[ Ashley screaming ]

Ashley: Alan! Oh, my god!

Traci: Ashley. Please, don’T. No. Please, ashley, stop. Please. No.

Did you know…

Tucker: You wanna lay down or sit down?

Alan: Just that chair over there is fine.

Traci: Come on, ashley.

Alan: Thank you.

Traci: Come and sit down.

Tucker: Ambulance is on their way.

Alan: Ambulance won’t help martin now. I just can’t imagine, he’s still out there on the road by himself.

Traci: I’m so sorry, alan. The police just want us out of their way for a little while.

Alan: The irony is that, uh, martin probably saved my life. I landed on him and…

Traci: Ashley. Ashley, are you all right?

Ashley: I’m just scared. What are you doing here, tucker?

Tucker: I came to see alan because I was worried about you. And frankly, I didn’t trust him. I saw him in the street, or who I thought was him, and he didn’t recognize me, but I didn’t know he had a twin brother. I guess you didn’t either.

Traci: Tucker, not the time or place, please.

Tucker: Okay, can– can someone just explain to me what the hell just happened here?

Alan: I don’t– tucker, I don’t think ashley wants to relive this right now. And I just need to talk to her first. I think it’d be best if you go, okay?

Tucker: Are you serious? After everything that just went down, you want me to walk away? Leave her in your hands? I don’t think so. You’ve done a bang-up job so far.

Traci: I will take care of my sister, tucker.

Tucker: Well, I’m a witness. The cops are gonna wanna take my statement.

Traci: Okay, so go down now and find out if they’re ready for your statement. If they’re not, just wait there until they are ready.

Tucker: Ashley?

Traci: But you have to go.

Alan: Look, leave her be. Tucker, please, leave her be, okay, man?

Tucker: Okay. Ashley? Hey. Um, I’m gonna be in paris a couple more days. If she needs anything, anytime. Okay? Anytime.

Traci: Okay.

Ashley: I’m sorry.

Alan: What? Ashley, you’re not to blame for anything.

Traci: Alan is right. You cannot blame yourself.

Ashley: I can’t help but feel somewhat responsible.

Alan: There’s no way you could’ve known that the answers would lead to martin.

Ashley: That’s the noise we heard?

Alan: Yeah, he hit me on the back of the head and… he zip-tied me and threw me in a closet.

Traci: And then he came down here pretending to be you. And I– I completely bought it.

Ashley: Yeah, we both did.

Alan: Yeah, we were twins. When we were little, we did all the twin things that twins do, you know? Pretended to be each other and… I’d always get in trouble for the stuff he’d do. As an adult, he became adept at imitating me as a therapist. And we used to laugh about it. When he was on his meds, feeling better, more like himself. Not too funny now, though. The idea that he hurt you in my place, that he had access to you, that he gained your trust. I guess I became resigned to the fact that he would never be happy. But, I don’t know, I guess he’s at peace now, huh?

Traci: Alan, is there anybody that you need to contact? Because I would be very happy to make those phone calls for you if you’d like.

Alan: Um, we used to have some cousins that we’re not very close to. It’s– you know, just been the two of us in the last many years. There’s a– a sadness and grief that he’s gone, but… I don’t know, I’m kind of relieved he’s at peace. It sounds strange, doesn’t it?

Traci: No, not at all.

Alan: It’s over now.

Ashley: Um… my memories… uh, I’m kind of putting the pieces together. I think I kind of understand what happened.

Announcer: The young and the restless will continue.

Alan: The moments falling into place, that’s from the night you were with martin, right?

Ashley: Yes. I mean, he was impersonating you, so I trusted him. And in the beginning, he was fine. I mean, we were– we were sitting on this sofa, actually, and we had brandy, and he was fine.

Alan: And when did that change?

Ashley: When we started talking about the fight I had with tucker, then his tone became darker and frightening.

Traci: How so?

Ashley: I don’t know, really. It’s more of a feeling I have. It’s more like a bad feeling.

Alan: Do you remember anything he did that night, or?

Ashley: Not really. I mean, the rage that I saw in martin’s eyes tonight, I saw that same rage that night. And…

[ Ashley crying ] He did something to me. I don’t know. I don’t know what it was, but I do know that’s when I started to confuse tucker and martin. That’s all I know, that’s all I wanna know right now. I don’t wanna know anymore right now.

Traci: Oh, my god. Ashley, oh, my god. This is breaking my heart. I am so sorry to see how much you’ve suffered.

Alan: But, we have some clarity now, all right? Ashley, in her traumatized state, thought it was tucker that was terrorizing her, and thought he would continue to do so. The alters emerged to protect you from that.

Ashley: But they were wrong. Because I was confused, so they were confused. I can see them so clearly now.

Alan: Where– where do you see them?

Ashley: I see them in this white room, which just goes on for infinity. And there’s ash and she’s just– she’s just a kid, really. She’s the smartest one of the whole bunch. And then there’s belle. Belle thought that maybe if I would just fall in love, it would solve all my problems.

Alan: One of the alters looked like it wanted to, uh, take control over the others.

Ashley: Yeah, that was ms. Abbott. And she thought that tucker was the threat. And so, she thought the way to protect me was to kill him. And I’m telling you, if she had had more time, she would’ve done it.

Ashley: I still can’t believe the lengths that my alters would go to, to protect me.

Traci: So far as to kill tucker.

Ashley: I know. Tucker. You know, he just always knew when I wasn’t really me, and when something was off. Oh, god. And I– I feel that if ms. Abbott had had the chance, honestly, she would’ve found a way to kill him. I’m sorry. I don’t mean to be insensitive. I know that you loved your brother.

[ Alan scoffs ]

Alan: We were just characters in martin’s twisted fantasy. Especially you, ashley.

Traci: Alan, he was your brother. He did something horrible, but this must be unimaginably painful for you.

Alan: Twins are, uh, unique beings. And in our case, it was almost as if we had the same brain, you know? Shared thoughts. And like he was always troubled, jealous. But at some point, something changed. He became angry and violent. He started to descend in some kind of darkness. Became someone I didn’t recognize. Someone I was afraid could harm himself or others, or… I tried to help him. He didn’t want my help. There’s nothing anyone could’ve done to stop this. The way it ended was inevitable. I’m just glad we were here to help ashley get her life back. And you will.

Ashley: So, what happens now? (Vo) struggling with moderate to severe crohn’s disease

[ Alan sighing ]

[ Traci sighing ]

Alan: Oh, ashley, you– you should get some sleep.

Ashley: I’m too wound up. I can’t sleep.

Traci: The police seemed to understand what happened. I mean, they– they, um, they understood our story and didn’t have a problem with it, as bizarre and awful as it is.

Alan: Yeah, well, martin’s criminal record and his history of violence, I really wasn’t too worried about that.

Traci: Alan, how are you feeling?

Alan: Oh, uh, it’s just a sprain and some bumps and bruises. I’m fine.

Traci: I think you know that’s not exactly what I meant. I meant, how are you feeling?

Alan: Oh, a lot of self-recrimination, you know? I should’ve kept better track of him. You know, the fact that he hurt ashley and pretty much everyone she knows. And what he did to himself. Anyway, it’s gonna– it’s gonna take some time.

Traci: Yes, it is. But do me a favor, will you? Be gentle with yourself. Be as gentle as you have been with my sister.

Alan: Thank you.

Traci: Uh, ashley, how about you, honey? Are you gonna stay in paris for a little while longer? Or are you ready to go home?

Ashley: Home sounds incredible right now, but I don’t think I’m quite ready for home yet, am I, alan?

Alan: Uh, in my professional opinion, no. I’ve been thinking a lot about what you asked last night, about what happens next, and uh, I really think you should continue the work.

Ashley: But I’ve accomplished so much. I mean, I had a breakthrough, didn’t I?

Alan: Yes, you did. That was the battle, and it was huge that you won, but I’m afraid the war isn’t over yet.

[ Cell phone buzzes ]

Tucker: Hello. Yes, this is tucker mccall. Yeah, I– I– I really don’t have time to discuss that right now. Did you not hear me? I said I will deal with it later!

[ Tucker screaming ]

Ashley: I don’t understand. The alters are gone. Can’t you just recommend a good therapist in the states for me?

Alan: Ashley, yes, we have identified the alters that have emerged, but we don’t know what created them in the first place. And I think this incident with martin only released them. It did not create them.

Ashley: So, you mean they’ve just been inside me?

Traci: Since when?

Alan: Well, a classic scenario would be from childhood trauma.

Ashley: You mean to say that something happened in my past, like my distant past, that I don’t remember?

Alan: Just as you can’t remember certain recent events. Look, whatever happened with martin to trigger the release of those alters, that– that’s important, okay? But whatever created them, that– that had to have happened from intense childhood trauma. And you’re gonna have to face that somehow. And that means more than just a weekly visit to a therapist.

Ashley: What are you suggesting?

Alan: I would advise your next move to go to a controlled, safe environment for treatment.

Ashley: No, no, no, I am not. I am not going to an institution. I’m not going.

Alan: Okay, ashley, hear me out, okay? Listen to me. This is an incredible clinic that specializes in your disorder. I’m on the board there. It’s just outside of paris. I can call today and get you admitted. But I mean, obviously, I can’t force you. This has got to be your decision.

Traci: Alan, her time at fairview did more harm than good. This clinic of yours–

Alan: They are kind, well-trained, professional. I swear to you, I promise.

Traci: Ah, does it have to be so soon?

Alan: I think the sooner the better.

[ Cell phone buzzes ]

Traci: Oh, jack. Jack.

Jack: Hey.

Traci: Is everything okay?

Jack: I don’t know. I woke up in the middle of the night. I worried about ashley and I realized what time it would be in paris. And I thought I’d check-in. How are you? How is she?

Traci: Oh, jack, I wish you were here. I’m jonathan lawson,

Jack: What’s wrong? What happened? Traci, are you and ashley okay?

Traci: I’m so sorry. Everything’s fine. We’re fine. She is just fine.

Jack: Traci, talk to me.

Traci: It’s just that I have so many things to tell you, jack. Things are kind of resolved, mostly. And she’s made this great breakthrough. And she’s finding some answers, the kind of answers she really needs, as difficult as they may be.

Jack: Well, good. I was ready to climb through the phone.

Traci; believe me, I wouldn’t have minded if you did, but somehow just hearing your voice makes everything better.

Jack: Can I talk to ashley?

Traci: Yes, of course. Let me check with her. Hold on. Ashley, it’s jack. Do you feel like you’re ready to talk to him?

Ashley: Hi, jack.

Jack: Hey, great to hear your voice. How are you doing?

Ashley: I’m so sorry for just all the problems I’ve caused for you and the family.

Jack: I don’t care about that. What’s important now is that you’re safe and you’re gonna be all right.

Traci: No, that, I do not know. Why listening to my brother’s voice just got to me like that? It has to be exhaustion or something. Oh, my god. Alan, I’m sorry. You and ashley have been through so much and I’m babbling about being tired.

Alan: No, traci, you have been carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders. You’ve been so kind and– and loving to ashley, even to me, who doesn’t deserve it.

Traci: Don’t say that.

Alan: I know. I just– I just hate that I brought all this pain and terror into your lives, it’s–

Traci: No, you didn’T. Your brother did. Look, alan, I know better than most people that sometimes things happen that are just out of your control. Things you could never imagine or predict. Things you could never reel back in. And what did you do in the middle of all that? You helped my sister find herself again. She’s got peace for the first time in I can’t remember how long. And that is a credit to you, alan.

Alan: A lot of credit goes to you, too.

Traci: I’m her sister.

Alan: It’s not automatic. We can love our families very much and still fail them deeply in the worst possible way.

Traci: Oh…

Ashley: I would love nothing more than to come home and put all of this behind me, but, um, alan thinks I need to go away for a little while, jackie, before I can do that.

Jack: Meaning a hospital?

Ashley: Well, he’s calling it a clinic. I think we both know what it is, though, right?

Jack: Where? Here in the states?

Ashley: No. It’s outside of paris. And he wants me to go today. But, jack, after what happened the last time, I’m just not sure I can do it.

Jack: I understand. It’s a tough call. But whatever decision you make, it will be the right one. Look, you’re one of the strongest, bravest people I know. And has dad was fond of saying, “and you’re an abbott. Abbott’s can do anything.”

Ashley: Thank you.

Jack: Whatever you do, whatever you need, just remember, traci and billy and I are there for you, always. I love you, ash.

Ashley: I love you, too.

Alan: Have you made a decision?

Ashley: You’re right. The work has to continue. So, um, I’m ready for it now.

Announcer: Next week on the young and the restless…

[ Knock on door ]

Adam: Don’t– don’t answer it.

Sally: Why?

Adam: Because it might be trouble.

Cole: I just wondered whether we could have dinner together, like a date.

Michael: There is reason to believe that the dormant war between victor and mr. Abbott is about to reignite

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

Good job! Look who’s here! Drew! Hey, drew! What’s up?! He’s a little excited to see you. Me too. I’m just less exuberant about it. Well, I’m excited to see you — and you. But I am a little confused ’cause I didn’t know the navy seals were training here today. I wish there were seals in here. Both kinds! You know, I’m okay that they’re not. It’s gonna be hard enough getting him out of the water already. Yeah, I hear that. Well, of course

you do. You and wiley are kindred spirits. You and actual seals might be, too. Well, either way, I take that as a compliment. As you should. It’s really good to see you. Oh, good to see you, too. But I am surprised to see you two bobbing around in here. Wiley thinks the hotel pool —

[ Sneezes ] Bless you — is more fun than the one at the quartermaines’. I can’t say he’s wrong. And it is a gorgeous day. Yeah, it really is. I had a similar thought process myself. Great minds. And amelia is loving her swimming lessons, by the way. She is a proud mini-fish. Amazing! So if amelia is a mini-fish, what does that make you? A shark!

[ Laughter ] I need you to hear me on this.

Crimson is an elite publication, and we’re not giving a discounted ad rate to a gym equipment company. I don’t care what mr. Cain said. It’s still not happening! Big shark coming in!

[ Willow laughs ] Dex. Hi! Didn’t expect to see you here. When’d you start working at the metro court? Uh, this morning. Can I interest you? Fresh from the dryer. Read my mind. Thanks, man. So olivia put you to work? Good guess. I’m living at the quartermaines’, and I said I was looking for a part-time job, and here I am. Well, olivia did you a favor. There are definitely worse places to work. Oh, yeah. I’m with you there. And olivia even promised me that I could be off duty in time to watch each night of the nba finals, even if it goes to seven games. Hey. Here’s hoping. I know, right? I’ve been following the whole season. Can’t wait for game two of the finals on sunday night. Hey, be warned. The lifeguard is a big sports fan. Oh, yeah? Oh, yeah. She’s fierce — and a terrible loser. So if you’re rooting against her and your team wins… don’t gloat. Chase: I don’t know if I’m being strategic or just avoiding the thing that I dread. Maybe we should have gone to finn’s first like we planned. Well, we still could. What would you say to him? “You son of a bitch. How could you use our dad’s death as an excuse to dive into a bottle?” Not the best approach, huh? Certainly justified, but, um, no, I-I don’t really think that finn would have a good response to that. It’s a sickness. He is sick. He’s sick. It’s not his fault. Addiction is a disease. I know this. I have training for this. And I am still so angry and — and frustrated and disappointed that he would do this to violet — and my dad! Y-you. But frustration and anger will get us exactly nowhere. We need to come up with a plan, a way to confront finn, get him into recovery, and, most of all, protect violet.

[ Rock music plays ] So — so what do we do now? Does somebody come take our order or what? Bartender isn’t even looking this way. So I guess if we want a drink, we got to hit the bar. If we do that, we’ll get carded. You’ll be fine. You have a fake id. But I’ve got nothing. I’ll just be out here twisting. Relax, okay? Nobody ever gets carded here. How do you know? I just know. Okay? Dale? You got this? Yeah. No problem. Three of their best cheap beers coming up. Here’s to ignoring first impressions. Okay. You know, I wasn’t sure I was gonna come over here. I was afraid you were gonna be one of those dark, brooding types. Well, you couldn’t have been too afraid.

[ Chuckles ] Oh, but I was! And then I figured, “what the heck?” And came on over. And I am glad I did because you are all kinds of fun. Really? Huh.

How long this time? Drew: That was like 15 seconds! Is that long enough to be a navy seal? Well, you’re gonna have to hold your breath a little bit longer to be a navy seal, but you got a lot of time to figure that out. Ever since I mentioned your time in the navy to wiley, all he talks about is becoming a navy seal. Aww. He is less certain, though, about what exactly that is. Well, he’s got a lot of time to figure that out, too, but as soon as you figure it all out, the navy is gonna be very lucky to have you. And you’ll be lucky to have drew as your mentor. Will I get a uniform?

[ Gasps ] I am so sorry! Here. Let me help you. I-I don’t know where my mind was at just now. Somewhere good, I hope. Grandma nina! Hey, little guy. It’s so nice to see — oh, let me give you — give you a towel. Whoa! Hey! Look how big you’ve gotten! It is so nice to see you! I don’t know where to start. With finn or with violet? The day my dad died and you took violet to bobbie’s, finn completely broke down, but he knew he screwed up. He told me to pour the rest of the bourbon down the sink. He made a bad choice, but it was like he was getting back on track, and I bought it. I would have thought the same thing. No, you wouldn’T. Look, we have very different experiences with substance abuse, okay? The quartermaines have a lot of history with it, and there was this couple down in bensonhurst. Anyway, I just — I know how to recognize it for exactly what it is. What type of detective am i if I am this naive? Believing in your brother says nothing about your work as a detective. I bought his whole act — the remorse, the resolve to do better. A-and he lied to me. He didn’t do it on purpose. It’s part of the disease. You know, reading about it is one thing, but experiencing it firsthand is another. I keep thinking about when finn was at dad’s memorial and he was shaking hands and wiping away tears, putting on this whole devoted-son act, and then he’d sneak away to the bar and hit a few tequila shots. And for the record, I bought the whole devoted-son act, too. Finn wasn’t necessarily acting. He could be a devoted son in mourning

and an addict who just had a relapse. I defended him to elizabeth. She was worried about him, and I said that everything was okay. You have to give yourself a break, chase. Finn’s not the only one who just lost his dad. You are in mourning, too, and you are way too close to finn and the entire situation to see it clearly. If this was a case, you would take yourself off of it. But it’s not a case. I can’t hand finn off to someone and say, “good luck to the both of ya!” And even if you could, you wouldn’t do it. Because finn’s your brother. You’re right. And I love him. And I want to help him through this, even though I am madder at him than I’ve ever been. No one can disappoint you like the people you love the most. That’s why they call addiction a disease. I know. And when I am less angry, I will remember that he is suffering, too. We both love finn. And we want to treat his situation compassionately. But o-our main priority has to be protecting violet. So how do we shield violet when her father is falling apart? We gotta go. Now. Gordo: Why? What’s wrong? My mom’s boyfriend is here. And if he sees me, I’m dead. What’s he doing here? Thought you said he was a good guy. I-I don’t know. I thought he was.

[Slurring] Hey, uh, I signed up for doctors without borders right out of — right out of med school, right after I graduated. So I’m having drinks with a fun doctor? Lucky me. Did you go anywhere good? No. The good places don’t usually need us. I was on rota. Rota. Uh, mariana islands. Where people shooting at you and stuff? No, no. Not really. Just a lot of people that needed help but didn’t have anywhere else to get it. Our operating room was a tent. You have lived quite the life… …and probably saved quite a few along the way. Not enough. Is that why you’re here in port charles, doctor…? What do you say we just leave the names out of it? I don’t see why not. We’ve been doing just fine without them so far. Mm-hmm. Just think of me as in town visiting family.

[ Chuckles ] How’s that visit going? I’m only asking because you’re sitting in this place with me instead of doing whatever families do when they visit. Just taking in the local sights. You sure are. And I hope you feel welcome. You know, I’m also hoping… there’s something

i can do to make your trip memorable.

I’m sorry. He was just coming out — grandma nina’s here! At the pool! I can see that, sweetie. Hi, nina. Willow, hi. It’s nice to see you. Are you going swimming? Uh, well, I don’t think I’m dressed for swimming. I actually came here to look for your uncle drew. But you know what? Maybe some other time, okay? Sure. Swimming’s always good. Oh, I think so, too. The quartermaines have a big pool, too, and they have a big float thing that looks like a duck. You can go swimming there.

I do! Uh, well, we’ll see about that, okay? Okay. Drew: Hey. I heard you were looking for me. What do you need? You smell like chlorine. You know, there’s a, um — there is a pre-swim lotion you can put on your skin. It prevents the chlorine from absorbing. Is that something you learned from the navy?

[ Chuckles ] No. I actually read it in crimson. You ran a few ads about that, didn’t you? Or am I just — just imagining things?

[ Chuckles ] Happy day of lifeguarding. Thank you. Here’s to no running, fighting, or cannonballs. I bet you can get two out of three. Ohh, that’s not what I want to hear. It was really sweet of you to remember it was my first day and show up. You know how much I love swimming. Well, it’s a good thing you got those stitches out, or else I’d have to stop you from getting in the pool. Ooh, that might be easier said than done. Oh, dex, I heard about what happened to you at brook lynn’s wedding reception. That — that’s insane. Uh, yeah. It was — a little. But it’s over and I’m okay. Thanks to joss. She’s the one who took me to the E.R. And made me wait to get stitches. I would have gone home, put some ice on it, and probably would have wound up with a scar. Well, some people say that a scar makes you look a little daring. Yeah, but then people ask how you got it, and I’d have to explain it. Some things are best left forgotten. Brook lynn: Here you go. Uh, thanks, babe, but I’m not that hungry. I know, but you got to keep your strength up. Wow. Thought I’d have more time before I became my mother. There are worse things, like… sitting around feeling helpless. I just lost my dad. I can’t risk losing my brother, too, and I can’t let violet get caught up in his mess. I thought that she’d be reason enough for him to get back on the wagon. Well, she hasn’t been so far. You’re right. A person can’t be an addict’s only incentive to get sober. We have to do more than just cross our fingers and pray that things don’t go from bad to worse. Look, if finn’s in denial about his drinking, he’s certainly not gonna think there are any problems when it comes to violet. How’s violet gonna feel about whatever we decide to do? How does this end without one or both of them hating us? Finn is gonna hate whoever makes him confront his drinking, and there is absolutely nothing we can do about that. And, yeah, violet might think she hates us for a little while. Well, it’s better than leaving her with her father! Wow. Can’t believe I just said that. Well, if you hadn’t, I would have. See? Told you we wouldn’t get carded! Good job, dale. Ugh. Best money could buy. Well, our money anyway. Will you chill out? Drink your beer. The last thing I need is for finn to see me drinking. Yeah, he’s really taking in the beauty of this place. I mean, come on, that guy hasn’t looked at anything but that woman in half an hour. I’m not sure he knows there is anything else in this bar. Shut up. His dad just died.

[Sarcastically] He looks real sad. You don’t know. Okay? And this — this doesn’t mean anything. He would never do this to my mom. Woman: There must be other things you’re dying to see besides the inside of this bar. I can think of a few things that might spark your interest. Excuse me. Are there, uh — are there any liquor stores around this establishment? Not really. Not really? How about — how about that bottle there? That’s a — ththat’s a nice bottle. Would you be willing to part with it? We’re not supposed to. I know. I know that. But, uh… how do you feel about that bottle now?

Okay, well, I’m going to grab myself an iced tea while you guys… catch up. Does anybody want one? I’m okay. I’m good, trina. Thank you. Okay.

[ Trina gasps ] Ooh! I am so sorry! It’s okay. F-for some reason, I’m like a human bumper car today. No. No, no. You’re — it’s okay. You’re okay. It’s fine. It’s not. But I promise I’m not always such a klutz.

[ Chuckles ] Uh… I was just going to check in with josslyn. Oh, um — well — ooh. Um, actually, I would probably hold off if I were you. Um, those two used to be together, and now they’re not, and… but it looks like they’re patching things up. It’s obvious they still like each other.

[ Chuckles ] That’s what I keep trying to tell them. I love them, but they’re exhausting. Well, I come from a long line of nosy italians, so I have to ask. Why did they break up in the first place? Uh — well, I don’t really know all of the details, but it had something to do with josslyn’s stepfather. Well, technically ex-stepfather, which is bonus points for josslyn. Sonny corinthos is basically awful. Does trina know everything that went down between me and sonny? I told her that sonny assaulted you. I didn’t get into the details, and I probably won’T. Sonny tracked me down in the park the other day. Oh. Well, I don’t see any fresh wounds or bullet holes, so I guess that’s progress. He told me that the bad blood between us is done and I’m free to live my life however I want, even become a cop. Wow. I mean, you don’t need his permission, but I’m a little surprised. I was surprised, too.

[ Chuckles ] Do you believe him? I mean, it’s the least he could do after trying to kill you. But it’s sonny, so… I believe that sonny hates me, nut I also believe he’s taken the target off my back. Well, that’s a relief. You can finally breathe. Yeah. Me too. I mean, I guess it’s a fair trade. I mean, you don’t press charges and he leaves you alone. I’m just ready to put sonny and whatever he does or doesn’t do behind me. Just focus on what’s in front of me ’cause that’s all that matters. Drew: Alright. Come on, my future frogman. Let’s let these two talk lotions. Wiley: Yes, please! Let’s get in there! You and drew seem to be working pretty well together. Hm. Yeah, it’s amazing how perspectives can change. Drew and I r-respect each other as professionals, and that’s been nice. However you managed it, you seem like you got to a more peaceful place. You both look happier. Well, I’m certainly on board for more peace. He is so good with wiley and amelia. And, of course, his own daughter. Yeah. He really is. I’ve never seen drew cain like this. You gotta be kidding me! That’s it! Hang on. Not here. He doesn’t get to do this to my mom! But if you get in his face here, we’re all gonna get busted, right? Right. Uh, I need to go. I need to get out. I need to get out of here. I need some fresh air. Let’s go, uh, visit some sights. Woman: That is an excellent idea. Finn: Okay. Really sorry, jake. Your mom deserves better than that loser. Thanks. Listen. Sorry, but I gotta get out of here.

She cannot protect herself, so we’re going to. She’s got a passport, doesn’t she? I assume so, but I’m not sure. Okay. It doesn’t matter. If we need one, we will get one. Why exactly does violet need a passport? Because we are going to take violet with us to italy while finn is at rehab. What’s that saying about seeing the world through a child’s eyes? I don’t know, but I know the saying about abducting a minor and taking them across state and international lines. It’s a felony. We’re not kidnapping violet. See, I’m pretty sure finn’s gonna say we did in court. Look, I love that you are willing to bring violet on our honeymoon, but finn is never gonna go for it and violet would never go if finn’s not 100% behind it. And if we’re being honest, I don’t think child abduction is the answer to all of our problems. What if we keep it local? Like a scavenger hunt where finn goes around town looking for his own child? Okay, I can tell by the tone in your voice that you are not completely on board. It’s a terrible plan. It’s actually one of your most troubling. Your family would be proud. You always know just what to say. And I know you came up with that plan just to take the edge off. Did it work? No. But I love you for it anyway. Sonny corinthos is josslyn’s ex-stepfather? Yes. To her eternal regret.

[ Chuckles ] Uh… my family thinks uncle sonny is second only to the pope in terms of greatness.

Uncle sonny? Well, he’s not really my uncle. More like my benefactor. He’s been really good to me. Okay, well, I’m happy for you, but pretty much everyone in port charles has an opinion about sonny. Some good, some bad. I just know that there’s some bad history when it comes to joss. I’m sorry to hear about that. But now that we got that settled, tell me — why did you have such a weird look on your face when we first met? Did I do something? Or have we run into each other before?

[ Keys jingle ] Those your things from your border work? Oh. I’m sorry. What? These boxes — are they your doctors without borders stuff? It’s hard to believe I lived that life. It feels like it h-happened to somebody else. Well… …I sure li ke the doctor guywho’s living this life. I don’T. I don’t like anything about him. Hey. Come on, sugar. This is not the time to be sad. Anything you’re feeling… I can take it away.

[ Chuckles ] How you gonna do that? How about this? Doesn’t that feel better? And this. Yeah, if you can send that to me asap, that’d be great. Thanks. Hey! I didn’t expect to see you until later. I thought you were going to the movies with gordo. We were. But, um… what happened? Well, I met up with gordo and dale, and we were on our way to the movies, and, um, we passed this dive bar. I’m talking super-sketchy. And we saw finn coming out. Are you sure it was finn? Positive. And, um… he wasn’t alone. Oh great. He’s found himself a drinking buddy. Sort of. He was with this lady. Like “with her” with her. And it was pretty obvious that he’d been drinking with her.

I’m sorry, mom. You have nothing to apologize for. I didn’t want to tell you, but I had to, right? You absolutely had to. I’m really glad you did. Thank you. Sure. I’ll handle this when I’m done here. I don’t know, mom. That might not be the greatest idea right now. Don’t worry. Don’t worry. I-I got this. I’ll see you at home. Okay? Okay. It’s jake. My mom’s got a — a situation. She needs you. There’s got to be something we can do that doesn’t end with us spending our honeymoon in separate prison cells, fighting assorted felony charges. Okay. What if we make something happen at the q’s house that violet just won’t want to miss? I’m listening. We tell her that all the kids are out of school, that there’s tennis a-and swimming and horseback riding and barbecues every night. Like a summer camp. Exactly! Okay. That sounds promising. Are we just talking about this or are we doing it? Oh, we are doing it, baby. And all the quartermaine adults will take turns, you know, on supervising shifts, work schedules permitting. Okay. Because of my dad, I have some time off I could use. Yeah, and I can work from anywhere. So we’ll just say that we’re spending a few weeks at the quartermaines’. And there will be a bunch of cousins and pseudo-cousins and assorted rugrats running around playing with violet. Not bad, huh? No, that’s good. Yeah. I’ll, uh — I’ll talk to finn tomorrow, assuming that he is sober. And with violet safe with the q’S. We can do some kind of intervention with finn, get him to see what kind of trouble he’s in. Are you sure your family’s gonna be okay with this? I can’t imagine tracy will be. I mean, it’s a lot. Then we’ll tell her the truth privately. Look. Tracy and finn are friends. She should know anyway that her friend is in trouble. And then she can help us get the rest of the family on board. That might be a leap. Maybe. But at the end of the day, every last quartermaine is gonna be doing this, no matter what it takes.

[ Laughs ] Sorry. Uh, lotion. It’s called dermapool, and it’s fantastic. It’s shea butter and green leaf extract in it. And it leaves a moisturizing coating on the skin. And the vitamin c neutralizes the chlorine. Olympic swimmers swear by it, and we had medalists that actually were part of the ad campaign at crimson, and they were great and — oh, and it also helps with pool rash and swim hair and… wait. Swim hair? What — oh, you know, how chlorine can change some hair green. I didn’t know it had an official name. Yeah. Yeah. You know what?

Crimson has boxes of dermapool in its storage. You know, why don’t I just send you over a couple of boxes? Or, you know, wait. I-I can really overdo it sometimes. The last thing you need is a truckload of product showing up on your doorstep. It’s okay. Gio: Sorry about that. The way these people go through towels, you would think they’ve never saw one before. People go wild when they’re not the ones doing the fluffing and the folding.

[ Chuckles ] That makes sense. Now, at the risk of trying your patience, are you sure we’ve never met before? I-I’m positive I’d remember someone like you. No, no, I promise. We haven’T. Really. But, um, I will admit that… if I look at you just the right way, like, out of the corner of my eye, you do look like someone I used to be, um… close to. Why “used to be”? Why aren’t you guys close anymore? He died. I…I’m sorry. I’m — I’m an idiot. No, I just — you know what? Um, I’ll — I’ll just — I…

[ Chuckles ] Okay, wiley. We have to get home. Mommy’s got a date. I don’t like that idea. It’s a date with daddy. He’s taking me to dinner. Okay, then.

[ Laughs ] Well, I’m glad you approve. Are you going anywhere fun? I have no idea. It’s a new place michael wants to try. Oh. Nice. Well, I’m sure wherever you go, it’s gonna be lovely. I should get back to crimson before they send out a search party. We still have some wrinkles to iron out before we lock the next issue. It was really, really great spending some time with you. I know! Let’s do it again!

[ Chuckles ] Yeah. Um, I hope that this is the start of an incredible summer for you and amelia, and I hope that you have lots of adventures and lots of fun and lots of swimming. I already told my mom that I’m going to swim every day this summer.

[ Chuckles ] He is not lying. He started telling me his swim plan in february. Well, that sounds like a great plan. It’s really great to see you. It was nice seeing you, too. Wiley loved it. Yeah. Oh, and if you ever need dermapool… I know who to call. Hey. Are you okay? Yeah, I just went to the ladies’ room. Okay, well, I saw you take off. Did gio say something? I will beat him up if he did. No. Gio didn’t say anything wrong. It’s just…

[ Sighs ] Sometimes some things will just hit me a certain way and memories of spencer will flood in, a-and it will just knock the wind out of me. I’m so sorry. Thank you. Um, I think it’s best if I just go home. Hey, listen. I’m gonna be off soon. And we can go somewhere. We could talk. We could go see a movie. Whatever you want. Thanks, but I think it’s best if I just have some alone time tonight. Um… of course. Okay. Okay. -But I’m here. -I know. Thank you. Is trina alright? Not at the moment, but she will be. Did something happen? No, not really. I think that grief just snuck up on her. It’s gonna take her a while to get over spencer. Yes. It is. She really loved him. She still does. I feel so bad for her. There have been some big losses lately. What I keep trying to say but keep screwing up is that… every moment is precious, okay? We both know that life is short, so… have dinner with me. I wish there was something we could do to fix finn right now. Me too. But we can’t lock him in a cage for his own good. I desperately want him to stop drinking before he hits rock bottom. I know. We just need to remind him that the stakes are different for him than they are for other people. Look, on top of everything else, finn is a doctor at G.H. People know him from there. If he keeps this up, word’s gonna get out. If finn does something that he truly regrets and can’t take back, he’ll never recover. There will be nothing left of the finn we knew and loved.

Interview with Jane Badler of the film “Trim Season” by Suzanne 6/6/24

It was awesome to speak with Jane. She seems really nice and is an amazing actress. I admit that I did gush a little, since I’m a huge fan of her from her days back in the 80’s when she played “Diane” in the scifi movies and TV show “V.”  This is an entertaining horror film. Don’t miss it!

“A suspenseful, uniquely crafted story highlighting pain and sacrifice that should spark some powerful conversation around women and gender. Mesmerizing performances, an innovative story, beautiful stylistic choices, and a little bit of witchy weed make Trim Season a must-see horror film.”
– BLOODY DISGUSTING/Michelle Swope

“From Badler’s commanding performance that contributes to the uneasy atmosphere Vida expertly curates to the stomach-churning sequences of body horror, there is undeniable greatness here that’s well worth seeking out.”

She said Jude would look more like his real dad when he got older. Melinda wondered how EJ was going to raise Eric’s child. While Eric and Nicole talked about Jude’s name, he asked her to keep the name the same. Eric said he picked the name because of her. Nicole thought he picked the name because it was the baby he and Sloan lost. Eric said he was thinking of her when he named him. EJ told Melinda that the baby would want for nothing because he was a DiMera. Melinda said he would want the truth. EJ reminded her about keeping Nicole from her baby. He said if she kept her mouth shut, he would do the same. Stefan asked Rafe what kind of legal trouble Melinda was in. Rafe didn’t want to talk about it. Stefan wanted to know what the plan was. Rafe said they were going to do something. Stefan wanted to go to Paulina, but Rafe didn’t want to bother her with it. Chad said he was looking for Abby for investigating his drug cartel. He reminded Clyde that he stabbed Abby. Chad said she was alive the night he found her. He said he failed to protect her, but he could avenge her death. Melinda told EJ that she was motivated to keep quiet for now. She reminded him that he had to help her if she needed a favor. EJ said he would do whatever she wanted. Nicole told Eric he could spend as much time as he wanted with Jude. Eric said he didn’t think EJ would go for it. Stefan asked Rafe about the plan to get Gabi’s case open. Rafe said there was a lot of evidence against Clyde. He said it was likely that he knew Gil killed Li. Stefan wondered if Clyde would talk. Clyde told Chad Abby wasn’t killed over drug money. He said it was more than that. Clyde said Abby got more than she deserved. Chad said he shouldn’t have hesitated to put a bullet in his head. When Chad wanted to pull the trigger, Harris told him not to. Clyde told him to do it. Harris told Chad to think it through. Chad to Clyde that he would end him so no one would go through what he went through. Clyde told Chad he didn’t kill Abby.

Melinda was shocked when Rafe decided to arrest her. He told her that she lied to him about Jude and that she was involved in what happened to Jude. Melinda scoffed at him until he told her that he found out the truth from Eric. She explained that the help she provided for Sloan was under client/attorney privilege. Rafe told her that she was going with him to get booked. She tried to stop him, but he told her that she was criminal. Rafe let her know that she would be punished. Melinda had a card up her sleeve. She told him that she could help Gabi. He froze where he stood. Rafe wondered what that had to do with Gabi. She told him about the new evidence about Gil and Gabi. Melinda informed him that she had the book. She knew he wouldn’t want anything to happen to the book. He couldn’t believe she was blackmailing the commissioner. Melinda said even if she knew about the kidnapping, Sloan was the one who kidnapped Jude. If he ever wanted Gabi out of prison, he would tell people that she wasn’t near the baby. Leo couldn’t believe EJ wanted to keep the truth about Jude a secret. He wondered why he paid him so much money. EJ decided to come clean with Leo. He said he didn’t want Nicole to find out the truth about Jude until he was certain about him. He didn’t want her to get her hopes up. Leo didn’t believe him. He wondered why EJ would pay him to keep quiet and not ask him about the truth. EJ said Leo always tells things so the money was insurance. He left with Jude. Nicole wanted to call the cops on Sloan. She was about to run out when Eric showed up at the mansion. Eric demanded to know why Sloan was at the mansion. Nicole told him that Sloan wanted to call a truce, but she didn’t want to do that. She called Rafe and left a message for him to arrest Sloan. Eric told Sloan that she would pay for what she did. Sloan said there wasn’t a worse punishment than losing him. She wanted Eric to forgive her. Sloan told him that she did what she did out of love. Eric went ballistic when she said that. She said that wasn’t the entire story. Sloan flashed back to her conversation with EJ. EJ arrived home and wondered why Sloan was there.

Nicole told EJ that Sloan was there to apologize and said there was more to the story. EJ escorted Sloan out of the mansion. He demanded that Eric stay and get Nicole ice for her hand. Sloan told Eric that she loved him. EJ and Sloan went outside and reminded her they had a deal. He paid a lot of money for her to disappear. EJ warned to make her life miserable if she said anything to Eric. Sloan didn’t want to live in fear. She thought she could convince Nicole to forgive her and understand what she did. He warned her to take the money and disappear. Eric told Nicole that Melinda was involved in the kidnapping. They talked about Jude and he admitted that it was hard to be around Jude. He wanted to catch up to EJ to make sure Sloan was taken care of. Stefan and Kristen talked about Melinda screwing him when he wanted to reopen Gabi’s case. They needed more evidence for Gabi’s case. Stefan said Kristen had to figure out how to get Melinda to play fast ball if she wanted the DiMera CEO position. She suggested that Stefan seduce her to get her to talk. He hated the plan. Kristen reminded him that his passion for Gabi didn’t stop him from sleeping with Ava. He tried to deny it, but she didn’t buy it. She told him that Ava told her the truth. Roman and Kate talked about what happened to Eric. He was devastated that Eric got hurt like that. Leo walked in the pub and Roman wasn’t happy about it. Leo wasn’t sure what he did wrong so Roman told him. He let Leo know that he wasn’t welcomed there because he kept the truth about Jude from everyone. Kate wondered if he stole the baby. He denied stealing the baby. Leo told him that Sloan was a liar and that no one could believe what she says about him. He walked out of the pub. Melinda told Rafe that he could arrest her if he wanted to do it, but he wouldn’t get what he wanted. She hoped Gabi would understand he was more concerned about her than he was about getting his sister out of prison. Rafe hesitated, but he agreed to her terms. He warned her to keep her word, or he would lock her up for good. Eric found EJ on the ground alone. He woke him up and EJ told him that Sloan hit him over the head. EJ sent Eric in the opposite direction to look for Sloan. Sloan approached EJ and thanked him. He told her to leave and never come back.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

I can’t believe it, Julie. The house is all brand new, and yet–I don’t know. You made it still seem like the same Horton family home.

Well, that was my inspiration. Of course, I had a lot of good ideas from the workmen. They gave me a lot of wonderful support.

Oh, come on. It was all you. This is beautiful.

Well, it’s a tribute to my grandparents, really.

Yeah, well, I know you did that. And what about any luck opening their time capsule?

I wish. I have absolutely no idea where the key is.

Okay, well, then maybe the both of us can brainstorm over dinner and try to figure it out.

It’ll be a challenge, I warn you. Maggie… there’s something else I need to talk to you about.

Okay, what is it?

Well, you know when you told me you were going to marry Konstantin, I supported you because I respect you and I respected your decision?

Yeah, you did.

Well, since then, I’ve given it a lot more thought. And I think it is a mistake. I think it’s a terrible mistake, Maggie. Do not marry that man. [mysterious music] [ominous music]

Oh. Uh, sorry. I didn’t think anyone was in here.

I was just having a drink. I may have despised the man, but Victor did keep a well-stocked bar. [chuckles]

Cool. Okay, you enjoy.

No, no, no. Wait, wait, wait, wait. Before you go, I would like to have, um, a word with you. And now that you are safely ensconced in the Kiriakis mansion, I would like to know your plan for getting the Kiriakis heir up the aisle.

[laughs] Wow. I thought you had to work late tonight.

I did. I just couldn’t wait to come over here and do this. [both moan] Mm. You know, I spent all day going over all the minutia for a potential merger with some of Titan’s subsidiaries. I just couldn’t stop thinking about this merger.

Ah, you know what, Alex?

Hmm? What?

We, uh, merged twice this morning.

I know, but that was hours ago. I can’t help it if I have a crazy sweet tooth. And with you, I’m like a kid in a candy store.

[laughs] All right, I’m afraid, kid, that this candy store…

Yeah.

Yeah, it’s closed.

[screams]

Come on, Chad. Just think this through.

I have been thinking this through for a very long time. After what you said about my wife, I will absolutely end you right here, right now. You will never have the chance to put another family through the pain you put us through.

Chad, no!

An eye for an eye and the whole world goes blind.

Oh, and now you’re scared? Tell me something. How do you think Abigail felt?

I wouldn’t know.

What do you–what do you mean, you wouldn’t know?

I wouldn’t know, because I didn’t kill her. Abigail is still alive. [suspenseful music]

What did you say?

Do you need me to speak more clearly? Your dearly departed wife is actually alive and well here in the land of the living.

[soft orchestration] announcer: Like sands through the hourglass, so are the “Days of Our Lives.”

Did you hear what I said? Abigail is alive. So why don’t you put that gun down?

No! No, you are lying. You are lying. You would say anything to stop me from putting this bullet between your beady little eyes.

Chad, you don’t want to do this.

No, this is exactly what I want to do.

Just give me a gun. We’ll take this son of a–

I need him to say it!

Say what?

The truth. That you murdered my wife in cold blood to stop her from exposing the drug operation. I need you to look me in the eyes and I need you to say it, or I will end you.

Go ahead and kill me if you want. If you do, you’ll spend the rest of your life wondering why you blew the only chance you’ll ever have of getting the love of your life back.

Julie, I appreciate your concern about my marriage to Konstantin. But, you know, it’s just one out of convenience. As I explained it to you. I mean, his visa is expiring. Then this way, he can stay in the country.

Yes. Yes, you explained it to me. The reason I’ve changed my mind is because of the story he told you. Oh, how years ago, Victor sent Steve and John off to Greece on some sort of a mission. And unfortunately, on that mission, Konstantin’s daughter was killed.

So why would that make me want to not marry him?

Well, isn’t it obvious? He must have hated Victor’s guts. You don’t get over something like that, the death of your only child.

No, it was a terrible tragedy, of course. And Konstantin is not over his daughter’s death. He’ll never be over it. But he found in his heart a way to be forgiving.

Oh, how lovely. I don’t believe it. I think he just showed up on your doorstep with an ulterior motive and all this gushing about how he was buddy-buddy with Victor is so much balderdash.

Oh, come on. What ulterior motive would he have had?

Well, you’re not gonna like the sound of it. I think he came to Salem, wormed his way into your house and into your heart to get revenge on an old enemy. And I’m afraid he’s gonna use you to do it.

Why don’t you just mind your own business and worry about your own wedding?

No, no, no. But your wedding is my business, my dear. Because after you become Alexander’s wife, you will generously share Victor’s fortune with me.

Thanks to the devil’s bargain I was stupid enough to make with you.

It was your idea to make it look like Alex’s name was on the letter instead of Xander’s, huh? But we all know that ideas are a dime a dozen. Execution is where the rubber hits the road.

Oh, wow, my aren’t you the Greek philosopher?

Despite your tedious sarcasm, I would expect you would show me some gratitude given the fact that I was the one that found the forger to alter Victor’s letter.

Well, doesn’t exactly seem to be paying off, does it?

Which is why you need to get hitched sooner rather than later. Otherwise, there was no point to divert the true heir’s money. [tense music]

I thought the candy store was open /.

Mm, well, I am changing the hours.

Is this about Theresa? Because she knows all about us. I actually just left a session with Dr. Evans, and she got me to realize that I need to be open and honest.

Oh, yes. I’m not much of a fan of Marlena’s. Um, but that is really good advice, which I am going to take as well.

Good. So you’re gonna be honest with yourself about wanting me right now.

No. [laughs] No, what I’m gonna be honest with you about is that as fun and as energetic as you are, Alex, I’m just not that into you.

Julie, I can see why you would think Konstantin is out for revenge.

Well, why don’t you think it?

Well, because Konstantin and I, we’ve discussed this. He and Victor made amends.

Amends? Amends is something you make when you’ve broken your friend’s favorite china plate. Mediterranean man of a certain age does not make amends with the person who is responsible for the death of his child.

Julie, I’m sorry you feel that way.

I just don’t understand how you can fall for such a tall tale. I mean, you’re too smart to be so gullible. And something’s off. [unsettling music]

Julie, please. Can I ask you to just trust me that I know what I’m doing?

There’s a plan? Okay. Okay. There’s a plan. So tell me all about it. [sighs] You asked me to trust you and now you don’t trust me?

I think the less you know, the better.

Well, you know I’ll never go for that.

Well, how’s Chad and the kids? Are they gonna be joining us for dinner?

No. No, actually, Chad is out of town.

On business?

No, he– [sighs] He’s trying to track down Clyde Weston.

Clyde? Why?

He has come to believe that the killing of Abigail was a premeditated act.

You think I murdered Abigail? But if I didn’t, you’d be murdering an innocent man.

You? Innocent?

You don’t believe me, go ahead and shoot. But I don’t think you will. Last time you had the chance, you wussed out.

Shut up, Clyde, or I’ll shoot you myself. Chad, you got two kids. Abigail would want you to be there for them. You pull that trigger and that’s not gonna happen. You’ve lost so much already. Do not let this guy take anything else from you.

I’m gonna let you live because I need to– I need to find out how Abigail could possibly be alive. And where she is.

We’ll take him in and we’ll get you some answers. [tense music]

You two wanna tell me what you were talking about just now?

Oh, Konstantin was just telling me about all the virtues of Victor’s liquor inventory.

[laughs] Oh. Really? That’s funny, ’cause I swear I heard somebody say something about diverting the true heir’s funds?

Oh, no.

Or his money?

That–that–that was me, because I misspoke, Brady. I meant to divide to the true heirs their money.

Oh.

My English sometimes, it’s–

It’s the Greek, you know? And we were just saying how Victor’s kind of screwed everybody out of the inheritance. You know, now that the will is going through probate, she’s gonna be able– Maggie will be able to share–

Yeah, she’s going to share because she is so generous. And we are all so lucky to have Maggie in our lives.

Mm-hmm.

True. both: I don’t like that guy.

I know, right? I feel like he doesn’t care what anyone thinks about him.

No, he doesn’t. Besides Maggie.

Yeah.

[sighs] So you have plans with Alex tonight?

[scoffs] Nope.

Oh. Trouble in paradise?

Well, if you have to know, he intends to keep seeing Kristen. So that means that we’re in an open relationship. [stirring music]

Where is this coming from? I thought we had a good thing going.

Oh, we did. Did. And let me just save the blow to your ego by confirming that what we had was really wonderful, especially the physical part.

Well, then what’s the problem?

[laughs] Well, I thought I would be happy being friends with benefits.

But something changed your mind?

Mm. Mm-hmm. I spoke to my brother earlier, Stefan. And I realized that casual sex has and can have some serious consequences.

What kind of serious consequences? Because it seems pretty harmless to me. We’ve been completely honest with each other, right? So I don’t see the downside to continuing this little arrangement.

Maybe that’s because you’re in denial.

Denial of what?

Hmm, that you have feelings for Theresa, that you are in love with her.

Come on. I’m in love with Theresa?

No, you come on. Have you forgotten why we started this in the first place? It was to make Theresa and Brady jealous.

That’s right, and then it became something else.

Mm. Or maybe not. Last night, you were, oh, you were talking in your sleep about Theresa.

No, I– I was not.

Yes, you actually were talking to Theresa.

What did I say?

Oh, some very romantic things. Yeah, along the lines of, um, “I love you. I want you in my heart. And I want you to be with me, forever.”

I said that in my sleep?

Yeah. Yeah. And you know what? Since we’re being open and honest, I think you need to be honest with yourself about the woman that you’re whispering sweet nothings to in your dreams.

But we got a good thing going. It’s nice. It’s fun.

Mm-hmm. And now it’s over. Because I am in love with Brady. And, Alex, the only reason that you wanted candy from me is to distract you from being sweet on Theresa.

Yeah, I knew there was something going on with Alex and Kristen, but I didn’t think it was anything serious at all.

Oh, yeah. I’m sure it’s not. I’m sure it’s just a fling or whatever.

It’s obviously bothering you a little bit, huh?

No. I’m cool with it.

No, you’re not.

Yes, I am.

No, you’re not. I know you’re not cool with it, because you don’t like sharing. That I know about you. You probably want Alex all to yourself. Yes or no?

Okay, yeah, it’s not really great for my ego that I feel like I’m not enough for him. Or for any man, for that matter. Yes, you’re right. I don’t like sharing.

Have you told him that?

No, I’m not gonna tell him that, Brady. I’ve got more pride than that. I’m not gonna pressure anyone to be with me.

Are you sure about that one?

Okay, yes, I… I know I’ve done that with you. In the past. But I’m breaking my pattern now since that hasn’t really served me well.

How mature.

Yes. Yes, it is very mature. And you know what? [sighs] Alex wants to keep seeing Kristen, then why do I have to feel guilty if I want to be with another man?

You definitely don’t have to.

Yeah. If he doesn’t intend to be exclusive, then why should I? [stirring music]

Dear God. So Chad went after Clyde?

Could not be stopped, evidently.

You know, I can understand his need for revenge. But doesn’t he realize what a dangerous man that he is?

How can you say that and not realize how dangerous it is for you to be marrying Konstantin when he must have loathed Victor?

Julie, I told you that I–

Yeah, you got a plan. Won’t tell me what the plan is. Well, maybe I’ve got a plan too. Maybe it’s a better plan. Here’s my plan. You don’t marry Konstantin. You call off the wedding before it’s too late.

And why would she do that? [sinister music]

You know, this really is terrible.

Then why do you keep eating it?

‘Cause I can’t help myself. I stress eat.

Ah.

And because you ate the last bag of flaming hot cheese puffs.

Yeah. That was a mistake. I’m gonna regret that in the morning. Ooh. My stomach.

Chad. What happened with Clyde? Is Harris okay? What–

Harris is good. Harris is fine. Uh, he has Clyde. He’s waiting for the FBI to take him into custody.

Thank goodness. All right, I’m–I’m–I’m gonna go. I’m gonna check for myself.

Yeah, go. Check it out. Be safe out there.

Thanks.

What’s going on, man? You all right? You, uh, want to talk or something?

Clyde said something about Abigail.

What’d he say? What, he admitted that he targeted her?

Yeah, he did, but he said something else. [mysterious music]

He said that Abigail’s alive.

I think you may be right. I’m using you as a distraction from my feelings for Theresa.

Ah, Marlena’s got nothing on me. I’m gonna send you the bill.

All right.

[laughs]

You know, Theresa told me she wanted to marry me. I pushed her away. I told her we needed to sleep in separate rooms.

I mean, that’s probably a good thing. Otherwise she would have heard you moaning about, “I love you, and I need you and”–

Can you–can you please, please, please stop that? Just stop.

Okay.

Just–

I’ll stop.

Thank you.

I’m sorry.

Mm. All right, so why– why do you think you’ve kept Theresa at arm’s length?

Honestly?

Yeah.

I can’t help feeling there’s a reason why I shouldn’t trust her.

Oh, wait. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Wait, what are you doing? What are you doing?

Kissing you, you big dummy.

I know that’s what you’re doing, but where’d that– Theresa, where’d that come from?

I don’t know, it’s just– it’s an impulse, you know? It was just an impulse. I mean, why– why do Kristen and Alex get to have all the fun? And for the record, you were kissing me back.

Yeah, you caught me off guard. You–that’s not fair.

Yeah, but still, you liked it. It was fun, wasn’t it?

I need a second to process this, okay?

What?

Jeez.

What’s to process?

Theresa.

What? What’s to process? It was sweet. It was–it was exciting. It was–it was fun. You know what?

What?

If I’m being honest here… if I’m being really honest, I want you, Brady. And if you’re gonna be honest with me, you’re gonna admit that you want me too. Right?

Forgive me for intruding on your private conversation, but the door was open. Did you realize that no one in Salem actually locks their doors?

Well, it’s a friendly town. We don’t expect to have unwelcome intruders.

[chuckles] Of course not. This woman is saving my life by marrying me. And I will do everything in my power to keep her safe. Until death doth us do part.

I’m just having a hard time believing you’re gonna have such a rosy future since her late husband was responsible for the death of your daughter.

Clyde told you that Abigail was still alive?

He did.

How is that possible?

I don’t–I don’t– I don’t know, Lucas. All right, I was in shock. I didn’t really have time to get into details.

Well, why would he say that?

Probably because I had a gun to his head.

Right, there you go. He was trying to save his own skin.

Right, so he was just– he would have said anything, right? You know, if he thought it would make me spare his life?

Yeah, yeah. Hell yeah, he would have.

Yeah. But what if he wasn’t lying, Lucas? What if Abigail really is still alive?

So what is it about Theresa that you feel you can’t trust? Other than the fact that she’s totally untrustworthy. Okay, I’m sorry. It’s just a joke.

Yeah, that’s not funny. I don’t know why I have all these doubts. I just can’t help feeling that she’s not being straight with me. There’s been so many times where it feels like she was on the verge of saying something to me. Something that would upset me. And it’s like she was about to, like–

Mm. About to what? Hmm? Confess?

Yeah.

Yeah.

Like she was about to confess. And every time she started to say what she was intending to say, she would just change her mind. She’d shut down. And then I’d, like, start to catch her in a little white lie. And she’d try to make an explanation for it, which didn’t make any sense at all, which only makes me think, like–

Maybe that there’s a bigger lie that she’s keeping from you?

Maybe.

Alex. If you love her, if you really love her, then you owe it to yourself to find out what she apparently is afraid to tell you. And, you know what, maybe that, that the two of you, it could take you to a whole other level.

Right. Yeah, maybe it could. Thank you for listening. Helping me figure this whole thing out. As a friend.

We were friends with benefits, you know.

Mm. Yeah.

We just focused on the benefits part. So I figured I owe you some friendly advice.

Well, thank you. It was a lot of fun, though.

It was. [laughs] And I really, really hope this works out for you. Oh. You are such a sweet guy. You are.

Nah.

Even though you don’t want anyone to know it.

Okay, well, I’ve also seen a sweet side to you. And I know whatever that it is that you feel for Brady is real. I hope he turns around.

Mm. He will. [gentle music]

[Kristen sighs]

Theresa, don’t. Come on. We’ve never been good with boundaries. This is crossing ’em big-time. This is a bad idea.

Why? Why is it, though? I mean, come on, we’re consenting adults. And it’s so obvious that we still have this connection.

No, the only connection that we’re supposed to focus on right now and that matters is our son, all right? And, hey, we’ve been doing a good job lately, right? We’ve been getting along. We’ve been co-parenting really well. And given our track record, that’s, like, a minor miracle, okay?

Yes, it is. I agree.

It is. So all I’m saying is, we’re on a roll here, so let’s not blow it, okay? At least out of respect for our boy. Right? ‘Cause he doesn’t wanna deal with his parents’ drama right now, especially given all the drama he’s had to deal with us in the past.

This time, there is no drama.

[laughs] No drama? Come on, I know you, I know me, and I definitely know us.

Okay.

Theresa.

Okay, yes, we’re Tate’s parents. But, by God, we just–we used to be so much more than that. And from the way you just kissed me now, it’s–

Ooh. No, you kissed me. You kissed me.

Okay, fine. From the way that that kiss felt, I– what if I promise– no. What if I swear on a stack of bibles that there will be no more drama, at least not from me anyway and I will behave with the utmost dignity and self-respect and respect for you and there will be no more clinginess and pressure and demands and we can just celebrate in this connection that you and I have? And we can just have this great old, like, lovely time.

Lovely time together. Yeah, you are– you are really aiming high on this one, you know that.

Why not? I know you’re not seeing anyone. So I bet you are really lonely. And I bet you would like to have some companionship. Maybe some affection. Maybe some warmth.

[sighing]

You’re okay.

I am.

Good. And where’s Clyde?

I handed him over to the FBI. I was just interviewing the manager of the campground to get more details on Clyde’s stay here.

So he’s going back to Statesville?

[sighs]

And you’re still upset with me. [mysterious music] Look, I know you’re not happy that I was gonna kill Clyde.

Yeah. I’m not real happy.

Look, I’m not saying I was right. But I’m not gonna apologize for doing what I needed to do to keep my son safe. Look, Clyde has been threatening him. He’s been threatening Tripp, and he’s been holding it over my head for months. All right, it finally got to me. And I admit, I went too far.

You definitely did.

Okay, but I didn’t shoot him. And you caught him. All right, so let’s just– let’s put this behind us, okay? Come on, Harris, please. Will you please try and understand why I did what I did so we can get past this?

You know, Julie, I don’t think my personal relationship is any of your concern.

No, no, no, Maggie. Do not be so hard on your friend. I understand her desire to protect you. It is something we share. And it is a fair question. I explained to Maggie several months ago that Victor and I–

Yes, you made amends.

Exactly. And the truth is, upon reflection, I realized that it was wrong of me to blame Victor for my daughter’s death. I have come to understand that it was a horrendous mistake. [foreboding music] You see, Julie, my daughter, Catharina, was one of the kindest people I have ever known. She would never want me to fill my heart with hardness.

And then, like I told you, I lost a daughter and a son. So I know something about your pain.

Yes. That is another thing that binds us, Maggie. And I must say, dear woman, that I am so grateful that you proposed to me. Oh, on that note, I have some news.

News?

I just found out that my visa is officially expiring. So if I am to stay in this country, we have no choice but to get married tomorrow.

You wanna get married tomorrow?

Maggie, think this through!

Julie, please.

Maggie, I know you wanted to plan something special. But it is not really necessary, is it? After all, the only reason we are getting married is so that I can get my visa. And to do that, all we need to do is be pronounced man and wife by this time tomorrow.

[laughs] By this time tomorrow, it’ll all be behind us. [ominous music]

[conspiratorial music]

[exhales] Ah, Brady. I am gonna do whatever it takes to win you back. And this time, I’m not gonna let you go.

Theresa! [light string music] That’s funny. Henderson said she was here. [suspenseful music]

[both panting]

[sighs] Look, I get that you did what you felt you had to do.

There’s a but coming.

You know, I gotta get back to the FBI field office.

Okay, I’ll come with you.

No, no. They’re not gonna want any civilians there. Look, I just want to make sure that Clyde is processed and he gets put away so he never hurts anybody ever again.

Of course.

I guess, um, we’ll talk more about this when we get back to Salem.

Okay. [wistful music]

Chad, I know you want to believe that there’s still hope that Abigail’s alive. I feel the same way, but you gotta consider the source.

I know.

He’s messing with your head. You know, he’s pushing your buttons. He’s just trying to make you suffer.

Well, he succeeded. He said that if I killed him, I would spend the rest of my life wondering if he was telling the truth.

You know, if he’s right, if Abigail is still alive, why didn’t he say anything earlier, huh?

I don’t–I don’t– I don’t–I don’t know, Lucas! I don’t know!

Listen to me–

It doesn’t make sense. Okay? I get it.

Chad, you were the one who found her. You found her. You saw her. You saw what he did to her.

I know.

Listen, man, I loved her too. I did. And as much as we don’t want to admit it, as much we don’t want to admit it, it was so–it–

I-I know. Come here.

I’m sorry, man. I am. I’m sorry, okay?

[ Upbeat music ]

Hope: For once, can you just admit it? That you feel threatened by the logan’S. You always have and you always will.

Steffy: Hardly.

Hope: Well, your actions say otherwise. I mean, trying to eliminate my line from forrester? Without even giving it a chance to recover? I mean, luckily you were stopped. By your own father, no less. But hope for the future is going to remain an integral part of this company. And so will I. And so will my mother. Like it or not, the logan’s are here to stay.

Brooke: This is the– the last thing I ever expected.

Ridge: No, no I can see that, but I’m not sure why. You love this company as much as I do. You would be the perfect person for this job. So what do you say? Will you help steffy and me lead this company forward?

Rj: So this has gotta be one of the best days ever for luna. She finally knows who her father is.

Li: My sister could’ve told her a long time ago. She chose not to.

Katie: Because she wasn’t sure it was bill until the paternity test?

Li: Yes, well… this definitely changes everything.

Rj: Especially for luna.

Katie: Bill too. He’s got a daughter. There’s a lot of lost time to make up for. Which I’m sure he’s realizing.

Luna: Mom, are you okay?

Poppy: Beyond. To see you this happy. To see you both this happy. It’s just everything I could wish for. And so much more.

Rj: Do you think I should go over there right now? I don’t wanna interrupt their big moment.

Katie: Sure, why not? I mean, what’s bill gonna do?

Rj: Throw me out and send like a guard dog after me or something?

Katie: Oh, don’t worry about the dogs. Their bark is worse than their bite. Besides, I have a feeling that whatever bill’s new daughter wants to do, then he’ll do it.

Li: Go. I’m sure luna has so much to share with you.

Rj: Yeah, bill’s daughter. It’s crazy.

Katie: You don’t seem as excited about this as rj.

Li: Are you? I mean, what I am is shocked. I truly believed that poppy was trying to trap bill. Turns out she wasn’T. Luna is really penelope and bill’s daughter.

Katie: Yeah.

Poppy: My heart has never felt so full. I loved you before, bill. But I love you even more now that we share a child.

Brooke: You want me to join you and steffy?

Ridge: Well, mostly steffy, ’cause I’ll be designing. But you’d be perfect for this job. You know everything about fashion. You– you know what our customers want before they know it. And I would love it if you could take that magic and apply it to other parts of this company.

Brooke: You’re really serious about this.

Ridge: I am. I know you’ve given so much to forrester already, but you have so much more to offer.

Brooke: Ah, I– I don’t know what to say.

Ridge: I do. Say yes.

Steffy: No one is trying to give you and your mom the boot. That’s not how things work around here.

Hope: But it’s how you would like it to work, steffy. I mean, you would like nothing more than to get rid of us, logan’S.

Steffy: Okay, hope, I think you’re being paranoid.

Hope: I– I wish I were. I wish this was all in my head, but we both know it isn’T.

Steffy: Think whatever you want. But this reprieve your line has gotten, it’s only temporary. Yes, my father and carter, they support your line right now. But once it fails, again, it’s going to get the axe. That’s it.

Finn: You wanna cancel hope’s line?

The power of a skin filler

Katie: I don’t know poppy very well. I’ve only met her once. But my first impression wasn’t how you were portraying her.

Li: Well, you don’t have the history that we do. But take it from me, my sister can be very convincing when she needs to be.

Katie: So she’s just putting on this act for my benefit?

Li: Ah, well, I think she knows how important you are to bill, so you’re important to her too.

Katie: I don’t understand.

Li: I don’t think my sister wants to raise any red flags with the people that care about bill the most. Especially the mother of his youngest son. She wants you and them to believe that she is sweet and innocent. But I know a whole different side of my sister. How she operates.

Katie: She’s really that calculating?

Li: Well, she’s had the same pattern for many years when it comes to rich, handsome, older men. I just assumed it was the same with bill. But now that it’s been proven that luna is bill’s child…

Katie: So maybe you’re starting to see your sister in a more favorable light?

Poppy: I don’t mean to put you on the spot. I know I’ve been dropping the l-word left and right since we discovered this incredible news.

Bill: You’re not putting me on the spot at all. All I feel is blessed. Blessed to have two beautiful, intelligent, strong women in my life. And like I told your mom. How could I not love her? For giving me you. And the amazing young woman you are.

[ Door opens ]

Rj: Hey, it’s me.

Luna: He’s my dad. Bill spencer is my dad.

Brooke: You have to know, I am flattered.

Ridge: I wasn’t trying to flatter you. I was trying to convince you.

Brooke: And I love you for that.

Ridge: Why does it sound like there’s a “but” coming?

Brooke: But.

Ridge: No, why?

Brooke: It’s a huge responsibility.

Ridge: But you’ve done this before. You’ve helped lead this company. It was in worse shape than it is now. This is going to be a breeze. It won’t be a breeze. It’s not going to be a breeze. But, it’s– you can handle this. You can.

Brooke: Okay. I appreciate your confidence. I really do, but you’re not exactly objective.

Ridge: I’m not objective about my family’s company? I am the picture of objectivity. I wouldn’t have asked you if i didn’t think you were right.

Brooke: Well, thank you. That’s nice that you realize my value. But, one more question. What about steffy? How do you think she’s gonna react to all of this?

Finn: Wait, did i hear you right? I– hope for the future. That’s– that’s like one of forrester’s premier lines. You’re thinking about eliminating it?

Hope: That is exactly what steffy wants. She would love nothing more than to see hope for the future and me disappear.

Steffy: That is not true. You’re twisting my intentions.

Hope: Well, your intentions could cost me the line that I’m so proud of.

Finn: Well, you– you should be proud. You’ve done some amazing, meaningful things with hope for the future. That’s why I don’t understand. Steffy, why are you doing this to hope? Looking for a smarter way to mop?

Li: I have so much respect and admiration for your ex-husband. You know, he’s a wonderfully caring man. He literally saved my life. From sheila. After my run-in with her.

Katie: When she ran you off the pier.

Li: Yeah. I lost my memory. I didn’t know who I was. I was barely hanging on when bill found me down by the wharf. Behind a restaurant. I was lost. Traumatized. But he was so kind and caring. He brought me to his home. Nursed me back to health. That’s why I was so adamant about protecting bill. I’m here today because of your ex-husband, katie.

Katie: And now your sister has a daughter with him.

Li: Yeah.

Rj: I’m so happy for you. For all of you.

Bill: Even me?

Rj: Yes, even you. This is about family and– and a daughter finally getting to know who her dad is.

Luna: Exactly. I mean, all these years of wondering. And after just one paternity test, all my questions have been answered. Bill’s my father. I mean, how lucky am I?

Bill: No, how lucky am i having you for my daughter? Hit the jackpot, didn’t I, rj?

Rj: Yes, you did. This woman is… she’s perfect. And you should definitely take care of her. Yeah?

Bill: I will more than take care of her. I will love and protect luna. Love you too. The three of us have missed out on so much time together. So many memories, birthdays, christmases, and just the moments of everyday life together. But that makes what we have that much more special. And I don’t wanna waste a moment. Not one precious moment.

Brooke: Steffy may not want me working with both of you. A logan?

Steffy: I am not doing anything to hope.

Finn: Well, no, to her line, then. Because it sounds like you’re making a–

Steffy: Babe, babe, you’re a doctor. You need to stay in your lane. I know forrester creations. I know what lines are thriving and what lines are on their way out.

Hope: And steffy has single-handedly decided that mine is heading that way. Just because hope for the future had one quarter that hit a rough patch, she thinks it should be on the chopping block without giving it any chance to recover.

Finn: Well, are you– are you confident that it can?

Hope: Absolutely. There is ample opportunity to bounce back. And I am not alone in thinking that.

Finn: What do you mean?

Steffy: She means that my father and carter agree with her.

Hope: No, not just agree. They stopped her from killing my line.

Steffy: Okay, if hope for the future continues this downward trend, it’s going to be an issue.

Hope: Okay, can we be honest here? This is about so much more than just my line and hope for the future. Steffy, you are making this personal. Look, she doesn’t wanna just cut my line, finn. She wants to eliminate the logan’s from forrester creations for good. I told myself I was ok

Katie: You have quite a connection with bill.

Li: He will always have a special place in my heart for what he did for me. For being such a remarkable man.

[ Li sighs ]

Li: I just hope penelope deserves him.

Bill: If I could, I would get back the lost years that we all missed out on. Of course, I can’t do that, but what I can do is take advantage of the time we do have. Which is why I want you to move into my home.

Luna: Move in?

Poppy: Uh, here? Your home?

Bill: Yes, I am determined to make up for everything that we missed out on together. I mean, you are my family now. You and my– my three boys. And they’re gonna love having a sister, by the way.

Poppy: Um, are you sure this is what you truly want, bill? You’re willing to open up your home to luna and me?

Bill: Yes, absolutely. Like I said, we’re a family. And our life as a family begins right here and right now.

Ridge: Listen, I realize you and steffy haven’t always seen things eye to eye, but… you’re a great businesswoman, she’s a great businesswoman, and… I love you both very much.

Brooke: And we love you too. But I’m sure you could see my point. Steffy is a very strong-willed person, and so am I. I can already foresee us butting heads.

Ridge: So what? Steffy and I don’t agree on everything, like this hope for the future thing. She wanted to shelve it, I wanted to give it another chance. She wasn’t happy with me, but in the end it all worked out. And if you have an argument, it’ll be the same thing.

Brooke: I would like to believe that.

Ridge: Well, then believe it. Done. It’s easy as that. The two of you running this company together, I– I think it’d be great. And maybe that would be good for your relationship outside the office as well.

Finn: Look, you know how I feel. Our families are intertwined, it’s important we all get along.

Steffy: I agree. But hope is taking my business decisions and making it personal.

Hope: Oh, wow, you know what? Say that all you want. You might even be able to convince yourself of that. But the reality is, you’ve not only been trying to sabotage me here at work, you’ve been trying to sabotage my entire life.

Steffy: Hope, for the love of god, will you– oh, hold on. I just got a text from carter. Look, I– I gotta go. He says it’s important. Look, babe, I know you’re trying to help, but I appreciate you respecting my decisions here at the office. Okay?

Finn: Okay. Hmm.

Hope: I am so sorry, finn. I really, I didn’t intend to drag you into the middle of all this.

Finn: It’s okay.

Hope: No, no, no, actually it’s not okay. Just like it is not okay for steffy to continually attack and target my family just because we’re logan’S. I– I– which is what she’s doing, by the way. You know, in spite of what she says. Oh, my god. I hate this. I hate this. I didn’t want this. I didn’t want our two families pitted against each other again. But she just kept coming after me, and it’s like, I am just exhausted from all this.

Finn: You alright?

Hope: I’m great. I’m just fine.

Finn: It doesn’t look like it.

Hope: Well, you know, just another one of those rolling migraines coming in. Actually, do you mind doing that little thingy?

Finn: Oh, yeah, sure.

Hope: Thank you.

Finn: Not at all.

Finn: How’s that? Is it helping?

Hope: Yes.
