Days of Our Lives Update

Days of Our Lives logo

Update written by Joseph

Clyde is in his jail cell, reading “The Devil Wears Prada”. Orpheus appears outside his cell and makes jokes about him reading. Clyde praises the book. Orpheus then remarks that he’ll take a look when he’s done, unless Clyde’s new cellmate has first dibs.

Belle visits EJ at the prison and asks how he’s holding up. EJ says as well as could be expected considering his surroundings. EJ hopes she has an update on his case to uplift his spirits. EJ asks if she’s made progress with his appeal. Belle confirms that she has.

Ben tries putting together a baby swing at home. Ciara joins him and says she can’t believe he let her sleep in so late. Ben points out that she was tossing and turning all night and asks if she had a bad dream. Ciara says she just couldn’t stop thinking about their conversation about Johnny possibly being possessed by the Devil.

After Jake grabbed Johnny, Johnny turns in to the Devil and grabs Jake. Jake questions what’s going on as the Devil tells him that he’s not Johnny DiMera. Jake doesn’t understand. The Devil asks Jake if he’s ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight.

Chad tells Gabi to stop playing around and get her feet off his desk. Gabi responds that it’s her desk and office so she’ll put her feet where ever she wants. Chad tells her to get out and not try this again with his security. Gabi reveals that she is the new CEO of DiMera which Chad laughs at. Gabi tells him to call Mr. Shin since he will back up every word she said. Chad realizes that she’s serious. Gabi confirms that she’s now in charge of this company. Chad questions how in the hell she pulled that off.

Jake continues to question what this is. The Devil warns that he may put his hands on Johnny but he does not manhandle the all mighty.

Gabi tells Chad that he took his eye off the ball while she was here, seizing the professional moment. Chad comments on Abigail being fine and Gabi not asking. Gabi informs Chad that she used his glaring absence to hold an emergency shareholders meeting which resulted in her getting the top position and Johnny being elected to the board. Chad questions his little nephew being on the board. Gabi explains that Johnny has significant control of DiMera. Chad argues that Mr. Shin cannot be okay with this but Gabi reveals that he was the deciding vote. Chad can’t believe this is happening. Chad asks what Jake’s new position is. Gabi responds that Jake got his ass handed to him.

The Devil asks if Jake thought the Devil was gone and remarks that only losers believe in miracles. Jake realizes the Devil has been here in Johnny for months. The Devil remarks that Jake nor Gabi are as smart as they think and it was so easy to convince Gabi to betray Jake. The Devil confirms that he’s the reason that Gabi thought Jake was going to screw her over. The Devil says Gabi already had doubts so he just used a few tricks to have her in his clutches. The Devil declares that he will now get Gabi in to his bed.

Ciara tells Ben that part of her still thinks it’s crazy that the Devil jumped out of Marlena in to Johnny. Ben feels they still need to check it out to make sure there’s not danger for the baby. Ciara brings up Susan not calling him back. Ben says he can try again but Susan then shows up at their door. Susan says she got Ben’s message and as soon as she heard his voice, she had a premonition and hopped on the first bus to Salem. Susan guesses that he was calling about her son, EJ.

Belle informs EJ that she tracked down the henchman who held Sami captive and falsely testified that EJ put him up to it, Jason Smith. EJ asks how she found him. Belle admits it wasn’t easy as he basically went off the grid after implicating EJ. Belle wanted him to admit it so she tried to trick him in to telling her who really did it but she had no luck as he’s sticking to his story. EJ guesses they are back to square one. Belle says there are other avenues they could explore.

Clyde tells Orpheus that it’s funny how life works with his new cellmate being his old pal EJ DiMera. Orpheus points out that they were business associates and ran a drug operation. Clyde questions where he came up with that. Orpheus says he makes it a point to stay in the know. Clyde argues that he doesn’t know anything about him. Orpheus argues that he knows a great deal about Clyde, including that his relationship with EJ went south. Orpheus asks if that’s why Clyde killed EJ.

Belle tells EJ that she’s been working with the Wisconsin police to try to find the other guy, Pete, who was guarding Sami to see if he would contradict Jason’s story but finding him has been a challenge. EJ guesses that avenue is closed. Belle encourages they can try insufficient evidence. EJ talks about regretting taking the stand. Belle brings up Jason, Lucas, Chad, and Sami but says there’s so much room for reasonable doubt. EJ suggests focusing on overturning the judge’s ruling but Belle says the odds of success there are slim since EJ didn’t want a jury trial. EJ recalls Belle telling him to shut up, sit down, and let her do her job but he disregarded her advice at every turn. EJ points out that she’s still here. Belle reminds him that she promised not to abandon him. Belle declares that she knows he’s innocent and soon, everyone else will too. EJ thanks her and tells her how appreciative he is for all her help. Belle asks him again how he’s doing in here and how things are with his cellmate, Clyde Weston.

Clyde tells Orpheus that his information is bogus since EJ is alive. Orpheus credits Dr. Rolf but brings up that night in park when EJ was shot and everyone thought he was dead. Clyde points out that he didn’t shoot him as some two bit junkie did that. Orpheus argues against that but Clyde swears he did not shoot EJ. Orpheus acknowledges that maybe Clyde didn’t pull the trigger, but he’s certainly responsible for the bullet ending up in EJ’s chest.

Ben questions Susan thinking they called about EJ. Susan says it was in her premonition and she’s been thinking about him nonstop since he got sent to prison for a crime he did not commit. Susan argues that EJ would never dream of kidnapping Sami. Ben stops her to clarify they weren’t calling about EJ. Susan asks what it’s about then. Ciara informs her that it’s Johnny. Susan asks what could possibly be wrong with him. Ben advises her to brace himself.

Jake wants to warn Gabi but Devil Johnny uses his powers to slam the door shut and questions Jake leaving so soon. Jake guesses that he’s not leaving and he’s dancing with the Devil after all as he takes a swing at him.

Chad question DiMera being in chaos because Gabi and Jake got in a fight. Gabi remarks that it doesn’t matter why it happened, just that she landed on top. Chad argues that Gabi and Jake can go at each other all they want but this is his family’s company and his children’s legacy so he won’t let them destroy it. Gabi asks what he’s going to do. Chad declares that he will call a meeting. Gabi reminds him that he needs the majority to remove her and he doesn’t have the votes. Gabi says Mr. Shin wants him out and Johnny is on the board with EJ’s votes. Chad doesn’t know why Johnny turned on him since he wanted to work with him to remove vultures like her from DiMera. Gabi says it looks like he got played by his little nephew. Chad declares that little punk won’t get away with it. They then hear a loud crash.

Devil Johnny stands over Jake, who is knocked unconscious on the conference table.

Clyde claims not to know what Orpheus is talking about and that he wasn’t even around when the shooting went down. Orpheus points out that EJ was and asks how EJ feels with cohabitating with the guy that blew him away, guessing it must make for awkward conversation. Clyde argues that even if he was there, it wouldn’t make a difference because EJ doesn’t remember a thing about that night which is a side effect of Dr. Rolf’s drug. Orpheus says he understands that in time, the memories come back. Orpheus asks what Clyde is going to do when EJ remembers that he double crossed him and left him to die.

Belle is shocked to learn that Clyde is EJ’s cellmate and asks how it’s going. EJ says so far, so good. Belle wouldn’t have thought they would hit it off. EJ reveals that they are already acquainted which Belle questions how. EJ informs her that they used to be in business together. Belle assumes the business wasn’t legit which EJ confirms. Belle suggests putting in a request for a different cellmate so his association with Clyde to jeopardize his appeal. EJ calls it ancient history and he actually thinks Clyde can be quite helpful since he’s been here a long time and he knows the place well. Belle questions thinking he can rely on Clyde. EJ admits he doesn’t trust him but if he’s going to survive, he needs someone to have his back and right now, Clyde is his only choice.

Susan questions Ben and Ciara thinking the Devil is hanging in town in Johnny and what makes them think that. Ben says there’s been strange incidents lately. Ciara explains how Julie got them a cross but her stove randomly burst in to flames and then Johnny volunteered to bring the cross to them, but it keeps flipping upside down. Ciara says Julie thinks it’s a sign that the Devil is back in town. They talk about how the Devil could jump in to someone else during the exorcism. Susan goes over their theory. Ciara brings up Susan’s original premonition that the Devil was after their baby in the first place. Ben asks if she sensed anything about Johnny. Susan recalls being at the DiMera Mansion after the exorcism and if she had any feeling that the Devil was in Johnny, she would have never left town. Ben knew it would be a long shot. Ciara apologizes for letting their imaginations run wild and says clearly they were wrong about the Devil being back in Salem, but Susan says not necessarily.

Gabi questions what the noise was. Chad says she’s the new CEO so she can figure it out as he exits the office.

Gabi returns to the conference room and questions what happened as she thought Johnny was calling security. Johnny says he didn’t have to as he thought Jake was going to leave voluntarily but he stormed back in and attacked him. Gabi checks on Jake. Johnny claims that Jake was acting like a psycho, so he had to defend himself. Gabi wakes Jake up and questions what he was thinking.

Susan informs Ben and Ciara that after the exorcism, she did have a premonition that the Devil was still in Salem but she thought it was still in Marlena so she went there to throw holy water on her but Marlena assured that was not the case. Susan thought her Devil detector didn’t work and she didn’t get any bad vibes from Johnny. Susan mentions seeing him before she left town, but the night of Johnny’s engagement party, she got sick and went to the hospital as she had this feeling that there was an evil force behind it all. Susan can’t believe that she stood right in front of Johnny and didn’t have a clue.

Jake tries to say what Johnny is but the Devil uses his powers to cause Jake to have headaches. Jake calls Johnny a creep who tricked Gabi in to stabbing him in the back. The Devil flashes back to touching Jake’s head before Gabi entered the room.

Belle sees their time is up and asks if EJ needs anything else. EJ tells her to just find a way to get him out of this hell hole. Belle says she’s on it and her next angle is Chad. EJ tells her not to waste her time because Chad called him a criminal and sociopath and said he hoped he stayed locked up forever. Belle notes that Chad was out of his mind with worry but Abigail is now safe at home. EJ is sure Chad’s state of mind is much better then but not enough to help him. Belle brings up that Chad was going to do that before he thought EJ tried to force himself on his wife. EJ assures he did not do that. Belle says whatever did or did not happen, Chad led her to believe that they would be pleased with his testimony, which means he knows something that could exonerate him. EJ questions Belle thinking she can get that out of him. Belle says she will sure try. Belle points out that Chad is the one who found the account linking EJ to kidnapping Sami, so if she can get him to admit he planted those or that he knows who did, it would go a long way to proving EJ’s innocence. EJ admires her tenacity but seriously doubts that Chad is going to volunteer any new information. Belle promises that she will get EJ out of here. EJ tells her how grateful he is to have her in his corner. Belle hopes this will all be over soon as she then exits the room.

Orpheus brings up Clyde being up for parole soon. Clyde confirms that he finally got a new hearing, so with any luck, he’ll be about to be out. Orpheus says that’s unless EJ’s memories come back or someone could present the parole board with evidence that links him to a new crime. Clyde says that would certainly throw a wrench in the works. Orpheus remarks that he’s sort of got it coming. Clyde gets that Orpheus holds a grudge against him for stabbing him, but he did that for his son. Orpheus brings up his son trying to kill Ben, so he supposes they are even. Orpheus adds that if Clyde does get parole, it could be useful to have a friend on the outside. Orpheus states that it’s in both of their best interests, that EJ never remember what Clyde did to him because if he does, they will both suffer the consequences. EJ comes back and questions what consequences are those.

Belle goes to the DiMera Mansion to see Chad, who asks what he can do for her. Belle wants to talk to him about EJ’s appeal.

Clyde tells EJ that he was just telling Orpheus about his new cellmate while Orpheus says he was just complaining about his cellmate. Clyde introduces EJ to Orpheus. Orpheus remarks that he’s glad to see them getting along as he then exits.

Susan can’t believe the Devil has possessed her grandson. Ciara points out that they don’t know that for sure. Susan wories that if Johnny is going toe to toe with the Devil, he’s going to need her help so she has to get there right away. Ben wants to go with her but Susan is afraid that might tip the Devil off. Susan declares that if the Devil is in the DiMera Mansion, she will be the one to find out. Susan then exits.

Gabi questions Jake about what happened in here. Jake says it’s a little fuzzy. Gabi brings up Johnny saying Jake attacked him. Jake says that’s a lie just like everything else he’s told her. Jake tells Gabi that Johnny is playing her and got her to believe he did all of this stuff that he didn’t do. Gabi brings up hearing “Jake” tell Maggie that he didn’t care if she didn’t get the top spot of Titan and that he was just using her. Jake says he never said that and calls it impossible. Gabi asks how he explains the signature to take Stefan’s shares. Jake says he can’t explain it yet but he knows Johnny was behind it. Johnny asks if they really have to listen to this again. Jake says he and Gabi are talking. Johnny remarks that Gabi is clearly not interested in what he has to say. Gabi asks Johnny to let her and Jake speak. Johnny asks if she’s sure she will be okay. Gabi says she’ll be fine, so Johnny then exits the room. Jake asks if Gabi is happy now that she got everything she wants and is CEO of DiMera. Gabi says that’s right. Jake says she obviously doesn’t need him anymore and guesses they break up now and that’s it. Gabi tells him not to pretend because it’s his fault. Jake asks if he can get his stuff from the house. Gabi suggests he get checked out but Jake says he’s fine, so Gabi says adios. Jake tells Gabi that he loves her but he doesn’t understand why she’s doing this. Gabi tells Jake that he can go get his stuff now. Jake brings up how they were on top of the world two weeks ago with their whole future ahead of them, but now, he doesn’t know how this could have happened. Jake then exits the room.

Clyde asks EJ how it went with his lawyer. EJ says she unfortunately had nothing new to report. Clyde encourages that good things come to those who wait. EJ admits that patience was never his strong suit. Clyde points out that they have a roof over their head and advises EJ to enjoy this nice, cushy life style. EJ questions what he just said. Clyde repeats for him to enjoy this nice, cushy life style which causes EJ to flash back to Clyde saying that the night that EJ was shot. Clyde asks if he’s alright. EJ responds that he was just thinking.

Chad questions Belle coming over to talk to EJ. Belle asks what he thought she came for. Chad assumed since Belle is the company’s general counsel that she heard the news that the scheming bitch ousted him from DiMera.

Gabi sits at her desk, thinking back to her original planning with Jake.

Ben continues working on the baby swing. Ciara decides she’s going to the hospital to pick up prenatal vitamins. Ben wants to go with her but Ciara tells him to stay and finish the swing. Ciara wishes him luck and leaves right as Jake arrives. Ben comments that Jake doesn’t look good. Jake says that’s no surprise after the day he had. Ben asks him what happened. Jake reveals that Gabi double-crossed him and left herself as head of DiMera and him out in the cold. Ben questions what the hell happened. Jake says he’s still trying to figure that out but he knows that snake Johnny DiMera got in Gabi’s head that he had betrayed her but he doesn’t know how he did it. Ben responds that he can think of one possibility.

Devil Johnny lays in bed until Susan shows up. Johnny asks what she’s doing here. Susan responds that she’s here to see if he really is her grandson.

Update written by Kathleen

Trina comes into the classroom where Joss, Cam and Esme are talking. She asks what going on. They tell her about the video playing in the class. She says sincerely that she is so sorry. Esme responds, “are you, though?”

At Spring Ridge, Harmony is working with Ryan. Kevin walks up. Harmony says she knows he is Dr. Collins, Ryan’s brother. However, she doesn’t think she’s seen him visit before. He tells her he tries to limit contact with his brother. He asks her what her assessment is of Ryan’s condition. She lets him know that Ryan only communicates by blinking.

Britt is sitting in a room when Maxie brings in Bailey Lu. Brittremarks that it’s about time she meet her niece. Maxie asks if she will forgive her for keeping the secret.

At Sam’s house, Sam, Laura, and Drew are talking about how they could deal with Victor. They agree that the fewer people who know their plans, the better.  Dante knocks at the door. He sees she has company and asks if he should come back.

On Spoon Island, Victor tells Ava that Spencer is struggling and that she and Nik are making it worse.

Back at the prison, Harmony tells Kevin that Ryan can communicate pretty well with her using a letter board.  However, it’s not so easy with other staff members. Nik walks in and tells the guard that he wants to see Spencer. He knows that his Uncle Victor hired him to look out for Spencer, but he insists on seeing his son. The guard wonders if Spencer will want to see him. Just then, Spencer enters the room.

Britt tells Maxie there is nothing to forgive. She understands and is proud of what Maxie did.

At Sam’s, Laura invites Dante in on the plan. She must leave to meet Kevin. She tells them to not make a move without letting her know.

Victor tells Ava that Spencer was upset about not being able to visit his mother’s grave. He tells Ava it’s her fault because she pressed charges. He tells her she and Nik should rethink their vow renewal.

Spencer agrees to talk to Nik.

Esme continues to accuse Trina of being responsible for the video. Trina tells Joss and Cam they were set up.

Brittt tells Maxie that her mom is sure that Victor helped Peter with his misdeeds. Maxie tells her that right now she just wants to spend time with her kids. James and Georgie are in love, Maxie informs her with a smile. Britt can tell Maxie is, too. She means with Bailey, but Maxie thinks she means someone else.

Laura and Kevin meet at the Metro Court. Kevin tells her that Ryan refuses to communicate with him. It bothers him that he doesn’t know why.

Spencer tells Nik that Victor has urged him to give his dad a chance. Nik reminds Spencer that he is there because it is the anniversary of his mom’s death. Spencer tells Nik that he lost him twice, but Nik counters that he is the one who lost Spencer.

Ava snaps at Victor that their vow renewal is none of his business. Victor replies that she and Nik are so involved with each other that it’s hurting Spencer. She says that Spencer needs to be more concerned about his own love life than theirs.

Joss and Trina remind Esme of all the things she has done. Cam wants the discussion to stop. Trina remarks that she’ll defend herself.

Maxie tells Britt that she and Austin are trying things out. Britt agrees that it’s good to take things slow after all she has been through. Maxie asks if she’s seeing anybody. Britt says no because she’s too busy with work. Maxie doubts that’s the real reason.

Esme snarks that she didn’t know Trina had so many issues and was so dysfunctional. Trina calls Esme a “conniving bitch.”

Nik tells his son that he loves him and that he’s sorry for failing him. Spencer asks about Ava — where does she fit into their relationship?

Victor tells Ava that he’s only concerned about family unity. He suggests they include Spencer in the vow renewal.

Drew tells Dante that Victor tried to activate him and wants access to his memories. He says those memories can’t be accessed. They are going to fool Victor into thinking it is still possible so that they can find out what his objective is.

Cam lashes out at Esme, saying that she is toxic and needs to leave. She hopes one day they realize who their real friends are. Cam and Joss still can’t figure out how she videotaped them. Joss wishes that night had never happened. Cam looks surprised and hurt.

Maxie asks Britt when she last went on a date. She makes lots of excuses and tells Maxie that she sounds just like her mother. Maxie asks if she has ever considered a matchmaking service.

Laura tells Kevin that she and the others are working on a plan to trap Victor. She says they may not be able to put him in jail, but maybe they can at least get him out of Port Charles.

Ava informs Victor archly that she and Nik will make a decision about the vow renewal together. He replies that Cassadines can be their own worst enemies and that he wants to change that. She flashes back to her conversation with Laura about gaining Victor’s trust. He tells Ava that he has big plans but needs her help.

Harmony is discussing the plot of Wuthering Heights with Ryan as he stares at Spencer and Ryan talking across the room. Nik asks Spencer if they can start fresh. Spencer agrees because that’s what his mom would have wanted. Esme comes into the room and walks up to them. Nik says he will visit again next week and suggests that when Spencer is out of Spring Ridge, they can properly celebrate his birthday. Spencer asks Esme to forgive him for the way he acted about her parents. She assures him that it’s okay. Her grief his nothing compared to his, she tells him kindly. He also tells her that he knows she is sensitive about Trina, so he won’t bring her up again. Esme says she is not sensitive – she is just wise to Trina’s games.

When Nik comes home, Ava and Victor tell him they want to invite the whole family to the vow renewal. Victor offers to speak to Spencer. Nik tells him that he doesn’t mind him getting close to Spencer — as long as he doesn’t have an ulterior motive.

Drew, Dante, and Sam decide that they should plant the tarot card in Peter’s things (which Bailey will get), so that Victor can find it.

Laura tells Kevin that she wants to go to Austria with Anna to look into Luke’s death.

Spencer and Esme argue about his friendship with Trina. She tells him about the video tape. She thinks that Trina must be to blame. He speaks up for Trina, saying that she wouldn’t do something like that. Esme gets angry and leaves.

Joss realizes Cam took her statement the wrong way, so she assures him that she didn’t mean that she wishes the whole night hadn’t happened. Trina’s phone goes off. She says that someone sent her a link to an X-rated website. Joss is worried that they have gone viral.

Laura says that she wants to go to Austria because she still feels a loyalty to Luke. Kevin says he understands; he’s just worried about her safety. However, she changes her mind, saying she’s not going to go because she is needed for too many reasons in Port Charles.

Victor tells Nik that he just wants to reunite the family. Nik and Ava give each other a doubtful look.

Dante finds out that someone other than Maxie is the executor of Peter’s estate.

Recap written by Christine

At Newman Locke, Ashland told Victoria that he’d just gotten off the phone with her father. Victoria wanted to know exactly what Victor said. Ashland didn’t want to upset her, but she said it was too late. He said that Victor threatened to expose Ashland’s crimes to Victoria unless Ashland capitulated. Victoria thought Victor’s actions were unacceptable. Ashland wondered how many times Victoria’s family would claim to have uncovered something about his past that made him unworthy of her. Not to mention the implication that she was a weak-willed victim who’d fallen prey to a monster. Victoria agreed with all that, but she wondered why Victor would be trying to squeeze Ashland out, and why Victor would tell this messy and obvious lie. She thought there had to be something more going on.

Victoria guessed Victor’s happiness at the wedding was a farce. Ashland suggested that Victor was happy at the wedding because he thought Ashland would die soon. Or, Victor pretended to be happy at the wedding because he wanted the merger to happen, so he could take control of Locke Communications and force Ashland out. Victoria realized Ashland was theorizing that Victor was the one behind the claims that Ashland faked his cancer. Victoria didn’t think Victor was framing Ashland. She didn’t think her dad would stoop that low or hurt her. Ashland said he was just trying to think of alternatives. Victoria understood why Ashland’s mind would go there, and she could also see why Victor bought into this insanity so quickly, but she didn’t think Victor was the one who made it look like Ashland was faking his illness. Victoria couldn’t picture Victor creating this wide-range conspiracy; that was too dark, even for Victor. Ashland apologized for suggesting it. Victoria wasn’t mad at him. She was angry with Victor for trying to use this lie to push Ashland out of her life. Ashland held Victoria and said he was sorry Victor was putting her through this. She said to feel sorry for Victor, because she was going to fight him with everything she had. “He has no idea what I’m capable of. But I am not gonna let him get away with this,” she said.

At Newman Media, Victor said to himself that Ashland just made a big mistake. “No one threatens me. No one threatens my family and gets away with it.”

Nate and Nick met at Society, at Nick’s request. Nate asked if this was about Faith or Victor’s health. Nick said his father and daughter were doing fine. Nick noted things were going well for everyone health-wise – Sharon was in remission, and Ashland had a miraculous recovery. Nick asked if Nate had ever seen anything like it. Nate admitted that Ashland’s amazing turnaround was rare. Nate wanted a deeper look into the protocol.

Nick thought Nate was a great friend of the family, even though they sometimes didn’t deserve it. Nick didn’t like leaning on that friendship, but he didn’t have a choice. Nick swore Nate to secrecy, then he said it had been suggested that Ashland’s recovery was too good to be true. Nate said sometimes science could seem like a miracle. Nick explained that there were indications that Ashland never had cancer. Nate knew Ashland pretty well, and he found it hard to believe Ashland would do something like this. He asked if the person spreading this rumor even knew Ashland. At that point, Victor arrived and joined the discussion. Nate knew some of the doctors Ashland worked with, by reputation, and they were excellent doctors who witnessed Ashland’s condition firsthand. Victor said Ashland deceived the Newmans, Victoria and Nate. Nate just couldn’t believe this without irrefutable evidence The trio went to Newman Media, where Victor let Nate watch the interview from the Peruvian doctors who said they were paid to pretend to treat Ashland. Nate asked if Victor took the video to the police or if he was sure the people on video were even doctors. He asked what decent doctor would pretend to treat a patient. Nate asked what about the doctor in NY, or the lab that ran the tests and diagnosed Ashland with cancer. Victor tried to get information from them, but he’d been stonewalled. Nate said that was called medical confidentiality. Nate asked if Victor even knew where the money came from to pay off the Peruvian doctors. He said someone could’ve framed Ashland by making it look like the money was from him. He thought Victor and Nick were falling for a scam. Victor said there was more evidence about Ashland on the way – he was a dangerous fraud. Victor wanted Nate to help them protect Victoria.

Nick understood Nate’s position, and he conceded that they didn’t have all the pieces of the puzzle, but he said there was enough evidence to seriously question Ashland’s condition. Nate had seen Ashland experiencing symptoms, and they were friends. Victor knew this was a shock, and he knew that feeling deceived was a hard pill to swallow, but he said to think about Victoria. Nate asked why Ashland would do such a thing. Victor said Ashland wanted Newman Enterprises.

Victor said that if Nate took a look into Ashland’s past, he’d see why it was easy for Ashland to convince Victoria to fall in love with him and convince her to merge the companies. Victor was sure Nate wondered why Ashland suddenly befriended him. “He needed your medical expertise to substantiate his BS about his medical history,” Victor said. Nate resented the implication that he’d been used. Victor asked if Nate read the ChancComm article – Ashland faked his own death and assumed the identity of the real Ashland Locke. Nick said Victoria knew everything in that article was true, but she was under Ashland’s spell, and she bought his excuses. Nick said that they had to gather proof and make sure Ashland didn’t do any more damage to Victoria or the family, and they needed Nate’s help to do that. Nate asked if there was incontrovertible evidence that Ashland lied about his condition. Victor had damning evidence, but it wasn’t enough to make Ashland come clean. Nick said they needed Nate’s help as a medical expert. Victoria burst in. “You have finally crossed the line. There is no coming back from this!,” she yelled.

Chance came downstairs. He’d taken a nap after his first therapy session. Abby knew it was a draining experience and asked if she could help. He assured her he wasn’t shutting her out, but he needed some time to figure this out on his own. He said they could talk about it later. Chance had wanted to take Abby to dinner, and he was sorry it didn’t look like that would happen. She didn’t care about going out. She was just grateful he was going to therapy. She’d never understand what it was like for him in Spain, but she was grateful he was facing his trauma and fighting for himself and Dominic. They kissed, and she began to unbutton his shirt.

Later, they held each other, and Chance said Abby had no idea what this did for him. Abby felt the same way. She said they’d have a lifetime of experiences, and they’d watch their son grow up. He told her they had a lot to be thankful for, then he suddenly said he was hungry, so he’d make them a snack. When he returned, he said it wasn’t easy to talk to Dr. Huffman, but he thought it helped. The doctor saw three tours overseas. Abby thought that was one of the reasons Sharon recommended him. Chance said Dr. Huffman understood a lot of what Chance was going through. Chance said that when people said what happened in Spain wasn’t his fault, he didn’t believe it, though he tried to. He felt that if he tried to move past it, it would be another betrayal of his team. He thought his team deserved to be remembered. Abby silently wept as she listened. He didn’t understand why he felt like he had to hold onto all this guilt. He knew he needed help. He said the pain had been a wall between him and Abby, and he couldn’t let that happen. She knew how hard it was for him to talk about this stuff and open up. She thanked him for sharing it with her. She wanted to be his safe place. He said she was. “I am determined not to fail this mission,” he assured her.

Faith was hanging out at Mariah and Tessa’s place. She asked how they knew they were in love. Mariah didn’t think there was a moment to pinpoint. She thought they both knew before they could admit to to each other. Tessa said that being in love was great, but it could be really scary. Faith shifted gears and asked how many guests they’d have at the wedding. They were keeping it small, so they could spend time with each guest. Faith asked if Mariah and Tessa were worried that their relationship wouldn’t survive the separation when Tessa was on tour. Mariah said it was very hard when Tessa went on the road, but it was also not an excuse to behave badly. Mortified, Faith said she didn’t mean to bring up any bad memories. Tessa said it was okay – being a couple meant that you sometimes worked through things when you made mistakes. Mariah said when she lost her way, Tessa was understanding, compassionate and forgiving. Tessa said Mariah had done the same for her. Mariah said it wasn’t always easy or fun to be in a relationship, but it shouldn’t be agonizingly hard either. Tessa said that you found out what worked and what didn’t, so you could make things last forever. Faith didn’t know what forever looked like, except from her grandparents’ example. Her grandparents had been together a long time, but even they’d had breakups. Her parents once loved each other, but now Sharon was with the awesome Rey, and Nick wasn’t with anyone. It made Faith wonder if soulmates were really a thing, and if they weren’t, why risk ending up with a broken heart.

Mariah wasn’t sure she and Tessa had answers on the risks of falling in love. Tessa added that she and Mariah felt like soulmates because they couldn’t imagine being apart. Tessa conceded that it was risky to put your heart out there, because it could end in ruin. Mariah added that things might work out too, but you wouldn’t know until you took the chance. Mariah asked if this was about Faith and Moses. According to Faith, things were really good with Moses, like life made more sense when he was around. But she knew things could change when they went to college, even though she didn’t want it to. Mariah said when you found the one, it could be reassuring, but sometimes things didn’t work out. Tessa said letting yourself fall in love required bravery and trust.

Noah showed up at Crimson Lights with a beautiful woman his age hanging all over him. He introduced Sharon to Cindy and explained that they were there to get some espresso before heading to the club. Cindy had already heard a lot about Sharon. She showered Sharon, Noah and Crimson Lights with compliments. It became apparent that Cindy didn’t actually know Noah well, because she called him Noel. Sharon asked about Cindy. She had a day job, but social media was her passion. Sharon asked if this was the woman Noah knew from his old days at Walnut Grove. Cindy wished she’d known him back then, but they just met today. Cindy said she and Noah had a meet-cute when they collided on the street while each was texting on their phone. Their phones went flying, and her screen broke, and he fell. They ended up going into a nearby cafe together and having a meal. She called him Noel again. He corrected her, and she acted like she’d been calling him the right name all along. Faith came in and met Cindy. Cindy joked that she was meeting Noah’s whole family on the first date.

Back upstairs, Mariah commented about her little sister pondering love and forever. Tessa said that wasn’t on her mind when she was that age. Mariah knew Tessa didn’t have it easy when she was a teen. Tessa said she’d been dealing with the chaos of her sister and parents. She noted that Mariah didn’t have it easy either. Mariah said she’d been too busy sleeping on friends’ couches and avoiding going home to the woman who raised her. They noted that Faith didn’t have it easy either, given all she’d dealt with. Mariah was glad that Faith got to focus on normal teenage stuff now. Mariah was touched by what Tessa said about their relationship. Mariah knew she put their relationship to the test the last few months. Mariah said Tessa didn’t have to be strong for both of them anymore. Mariah was back on her A game. Mariah admitted she’d been scared about Dom being sick, and it made her wonder what would happen if their future child got sick, if they even got to be parents. Mariah said her talent was worrying about things that hadn’t happened. Tessa said the world was scary, and that was why she was glad to have a partner to help her through it. She was glad to return the favor. They hugged.

Faith and Sharon went to the patio and talked about Cindy. Sharon thought Cindy seemed fun, and she said Noah seemed to be meeting a lot of new people in town. Faith thought it would be nice if Noah found someone. She said maybe seeing Mariah and Tessa happy put the idea of settling down into Noah’s head. Noah walked out and said no one was looking to settle down. Noah thought Sharon and Faith needed something more exciting to talk about. Faith said Noah didn’t have to settle down with Cindy – love could be scary, but you had to be brave. Faith said she was going to go vet Cindy, and she went inside. Noah had a feeling what Sharon was thinking. He conceded that he’d been with the woman from Walnut Grove the other day, and now Cindy tonight, but he was young, and he was supposed to go out and have fun. He asked her not to make this weird or find a reason to worry about him.

Inside Crimson Lights, Faith thought it was interesting that Cindy was a social media influencer. Tessa walked in, and Cindy was starstruck. She knew every lyric and she’d been to almost all Tessa’s concerts in the area. Tessa thought she’d seen Cindy at some of the shows. Cindy was sure Tessa was just humoring her. Tessa said that Cindy had a friendly smile, and she was usually drawn to people like that when she was performing. Cindy squealed in delight. Noah and Sharon returned. Cindy wrapped her arm around Noah again and told him that this was turning into one of the best dates of her life. Cindy said she and Noah were going to the club on market street, and she invited Tessa and her fiancee to come along. Noah was sure they had plans.

Cindy asked Noah if he was having as good a time as she was. Before he could fully say he was, Cindy screamed because “the other half of Teriah” arrived. Cindy couldn’t believe this was happening. Noah said Mariah was his sister. Cindy read online about Mariah getting on stage and professing her love for Tessa. “I died!,” she exclaimed. Cindy asked Noah to get her another espresso. Cindy wanted Mariah to tell her all about her relationship with Tessa.

Tessa told Noah that Cindy seemed cool. He said he forgot what he was missing being by himself so much. He told her that, like Faith said, Tessa and Mariah were couple-goals. He was trying to have some fun, and he’d leave the true love to the experts.

Ava adds that this was all for nothing since if Chad brought Abigail back from that island, then Sarah can’t be far behind..

Sarah walks through the town square and sits at the bench, looking at the Tom and Alice plaque. Sarah brings up that people keep saying she is their granddaughter Sarah, but she is not. She’s Renee DuMonde and she’s here to take her life back and finally be with the man she loves. Xander then comes out from the Salem Inn and is shocked to see Sarah.

Kate finds Mr. Shin at the DiMera Enterprises office. Mr. Shin informs her that Gabi, Jake, and Johnny called a shareholders meeting for this morning. Kate notes that they didnt’ tell her and planned it for a time when Tony and Chad aren’t in town and EJ is in prison, so she thinks they are going to make a play. Kate declares that whatever it is, they’re not going to get away with it.

Gabi gets dressed for the meeting while Jake wants her to get back in bed. Gabi says they can’t have any distractions as everything is riding on today. Jake agrees to get dressed, but says tonight they are celebrating. Jake goes to get ready while Gabi remarks to herself that she will be celebrating, getting rid of his lying, double-crossing ass.

Devil Johnny gets ready for the meeting and says it’s time for all hell to break loose at DiMera. Johnny tries to fight off The Devil from inside. The Devil calls Johnny his puppet and tells him to go away as he has work to do. Johnny refuses to let the Devil hurt any more people he loves. Devil Johnny then drops to his knees in pain. The Devil warns him about what happens if he fights him. Johnny says Marlena kicked him out, so he will too. The Devil argues that Marlena and John drove him out with love but he’s not worried about Johnny because he only loves himself enough. Johnny calls that not true. The Devil tells Johnny to go away. He then gets a call from Gabi, who asks if everything is okay. Johnny asks if they are all ready for today. Gabi says she’s more than ready and assures that Jake doesn’t suspect a thing. Johnny tells her to keep it that way because they need his vote. Gabi declares that Jake is going to get what he deserves and she can’t wait to witness it.

Xander tells Sarah that Jack told him everything. Sarah responds that it can’t be him. Xander tells Sarah what a relief it is to see her again as after all this time, he believed that she threw him over on his wedding day and jumped in bed with Rex, but it was never her. Xander is terribly sorry for all she went through in getting kidnapped by Kristen and trapped on an island all this time. Sarah accuses him of being part of the scheme to try to make her think she’s Sarah Horton. Sarah tells Xander to get away from her and stop calling her Sarah. Xander asks if she doesn’t know who he is. Sarah responds that she knows exactly who he is. Sarah questions Xander thinking anyone could forget who he is. Sarah calls him a despicably, lying son of a bitch and says she knows him as Alex and she wants a divorce. Sarah says she fell for his act and was foolish enough to marry him which was the worst mistake she ever made. Xander asks if this is some kind of joke as he doesn’t understand. Sarah tells him that she is Renee DuMonde and she intends to marry the love of her life, Tony DiMera, as soon as he divorces Anna. Sarah says she is going to speak to her lawyer, Don Craig. Sarah tells him not to call her Sarah as she walks off. Xander pulls out his phone and calls Jack, asking him to finish the story he was going to tell him.

Ava tells Gwen that Abigail is back and she knows everything. Gwen points out that there is no case against Ava and they haven’t filed charges, so turning her in will only hurt her. Ava worries that she can be charged as an accessory. Gwen argues that they have no proof. Gwen encourages that Ava has beaten murder charges, so she asks if she’s really afraid of this. Ava responds that she’s tried to build a different life for herself, so she’s not throwing it away or going to prison. Ava adds that Rafe is not on her side anymore. Gwen says she still has her back, as long as Ava has hers.

Kate asks Mr. Shin how many people they are expecting. Mr. Shin goes over EJ being in prison while Tony and Chad took the corporate jet on personal business. Kate argues that Abigail was kidnapped. Mr. Shin says it seems there is always a crisis in the DiMera family. Kate says that Chad and Tony are on their way back, so they can postpone but Shin says he has a flight to Hong Kong at noon, so he can’t push this back. Kate asks why they called this meeting but Mr. Shin says he’s not at liberty to discuss.

Johnny tells Gabi that Jake will never know what him. Gabi quickly finishes and hangs up as Jake comes back in the room. Jake asks what that was about. Gabi says she was just going over plans with Johnny. Jake reveals that he heard her say that he’s going to get what he deserves. Gabi claims that by the end of the day, Jake will be CEO of DiMera Enterprises.

Tony enters the living room of the DiMera Mansion, surprising Johnny who thought that he was out of town. Tony reveals that they found Abigail and got back to town. Tony wants to speak to Johnny about the house but Johnny says he’s in a hurry. Tony guesses he’s having a meeting with his producer which Johnny goes along with. Tony asks how the movie is going. Johnny says it’s great and he’s already working on the sequel. Johnny then hurries out of the mansion.

Kate asks Mr. Shin what’s going on with Gabi and Jake. Mr. Shin says he has not been briefed about the meeting. Gabi and Jake arrive, so Kate questions why she was not told about the meeting. Gabi brings up Kate ousting Jake from the company and not wanting to see her. Jake says they will get started when Johnny arrives. Kate suggests Chad and Tony could join them remotely but Johnny arrives and claims that Tony and Chad have been delayed due to weather. Mr. Shin adds that he can’t postpone the meeting. Gabi says they don’t want to. Johnny assures they can do the meeting without the rest of his family. Johnny says to get the show on the road.

Chad returns home to the DiMera Mansion and tells Tony that Abigail is relieved to be home. Chad mentions that they are both very grateful for his help in tracking her down. Tony is glad everything worked out. Tony assumes Jack and Jennifer are on their way back to Boston which Chad confirms. Tony asks what Chad found out from Ava. Chad says that Ava is still being held for questioning and not giving up the name of her accomplice.

Ava tells Gwen that Chad is never going to let this go, so she asks how Gwen will help her without confessing. Gwen swears not to tell a soul that she helped Kristen escape police custody. Ava asks if she’s threatening her and warns that if she did tell anyone, she’ll tell everyone that Gwen bashed Abigail over the head at the airstrip and that she knew about Sarah being kidnapped. Gwen warns that if Ava does that, she’ll let it be known that Ava set up Rafe on made up charges. Ava asks if they are going there now. Gwen brings up how many hours Melinda spent on that case and how she would feel about the woman who made her look like a complete fool. Gwen asks how Rafe would react to finding out what Ava did. Ava warns her that it would be a mistake to threaten her. Gwen says she’s just pointing out that they both have secrets. Ava argues that she can’t prove a thing. Gwen asks if she’s sure about that. Gwen suggests Ava keep her mouth shut and she will do the same. Gwen then exits the interrogation room.

Jack informs Xander about the drug making Sarah so delusional that she thinks she’s a completely different person. Xander says he will bring her back to reality. Xander thanks Jack and hangs up to go after Sarah. Sarah tells him to leave her alone. Xander tells her that Renee DuMonde was murdered by a serial killer. Sarah asks how he got involved in this scheme. Xander says that Renee has been dead for years. Sarah brings up other people being brought back to life in Salem. Sarah says she only cares about divorcing him and getting Tony away from Anna. Xander wishes he could get through to her and that she could remember how much they love each other. Sarah argues that he’s incapable of love and just wanted her inheritance. Xander says he’s not Alex, he’s Xander, and just wanted to make her happy. Sarah remarks that only Tony can make her happy because her heart will always belong to him. Xander shows her a photo of them on his phone and asks if she remembers it.

Gwen walks outside and asks God if this is her punishment for all the revenge she tried to get and the misery and suffering she’s gone through. Gwen wonders that even if Ava doesn’t rat her out and Sarah comes home, can it get any worse? Ned Grainger then appear and says it can always get worse as he asks if she remembers him.

Tony hopes Chad finds out who was behind this nightmare. Chad assures that he will and they will pay. Chad mentions running in to Anna upstairs and that she seems pretty upset about the whole Sarah/Renee situation. Chad knows it will be rough for awhile since Abigail took months to recover. Tony informs Chad that Sarah took off from the hospital which Chad says is not good. Tony agrees and then reveals that Sarah insisted on moving in which shocks Chad. Tony explains that she would at least be safe here and they can try to get her treated. Chad says no wonder Anna’s head exploded. Tony tells him about how Sarah just barged in. Chad asks where Sarah is now. Tony responds that she’s out there hiring him a divorce lawyer which Chad laughs at, saying it sounds like such a mess. Tony talks about how Renee was a passionate woman but now Sarah is channeling the same DiMera determination. Tony says unfortunately, he seems to be indulging in her delusion to avoid an all out war. Chad comments on how Anna feels. Chad says they have no idea what other drugs Kristen was feeding Sarah, but she’s here now, so maybe being in a familiar place will jog her memory. Tony hopes Sarah gets back to her old self soon.

Xander asks Sarah if the photo looks familiar to her but she says not at all. Xander points out that it’s a picture of them together. Sarah claims to have never seen it before and says the woman in the picture is Sarah Horton, but she is Renee DuMonde.

Mr. Shin starts the shareholders meeting and calls upon Jake to start. Jake says they have two motions; first is to elect Victor to the board of directors which Kate questions, since he’s competition. Johnny explains that the goal is to lull Victor in to a sense of security and then steal Titan from under him. Kate questions it being that easy and asks when the three of them started working together. Johnny says they have common interests. Mr. Shin asks about the second motion. Jake says the second is removing Chad as CEO with Jake replacing him. Kate declares she won’t allow that, so that won’t be happening. Gabi announces that she has two things to offer.

Gwen questions where Ned came from and if he’s been stalking her. Ned admits that he has and points out that Chad and Tony tracked him down, but he left Gwen’s name out of it and he didn’t do it for free so now it’s time for her to pay the price.

Xander questions Sarah not recognizing herself in the picture. Sarah insists it’s not her. Xander brings up that Renee would be about 65 years old if she were still alive. Xander says he can’t believe this. Sarah argues that everyone else needs help, not her. Sarah tells him to get out of her sight because she’s going home to the man she loves, Tony. Xander asks her to please wait.

Chad tells Tony that he could ask Abigail to try to get through to Sarah. Tony acknowledges Abigail going through a similar experience. Chad offers anything they can do to help. Tony thanks him and says he appreciates it. Chad asks if he told the rest of the family yet. Tony says he tried to tell Johnny but he seemed to be in a hurry to meet with his movie producer. Chad decides he should get to the office and hopes he didn’t miss too much while they were gone…

Jake questions Gabi as to what’s going on since he doesn’t remember discussing any amendments. Kate calls this very interesting. Jake asks what this is about. Gabi brings up Jake amending their last plan by going to Mr. Shin about ousting EJ without even talking to her first. Jake thought she trusted him. Gabi says she did and asks if he trusts her. Jake says he does which Kate calls a mistake. Jake asks Gabi why she’s doing this now. Gabi thought it would be more efficient. Gabi suggests instead of adding Victor to the board, they elect Johnny, and propose electing her as CEO of DiMera instead of Jake. Jake gets upset and asks what the hell this is. Jake asks what Gabi is doing. Gabi responds that there’s been a change of plans. Kate remarks that she told him not to trust her. Mr. Shin calls for a vote. Jake says they aren’t ready yet but Gabi says they are. Kate says she’d like Jake to get what he deserves, but she’s not going to let Gabi take Chad’s rightful place at DiMera. Gabi and Johnny responds that they can’t do anything. Kate asks how Johnny could do this to Tony and Chad when they’ve been so good to him. Johnny remarks that he’s a chip off the old block after all. Kate declares that she and Jake won’t be voting. Gabi says she and Johnny will vote while Johnny also has EJ’s shares. Kate asks if Mr. Shin is still on Jake’s side. Jake is surprised to see Kate come to his defense. Kate says it’s what’s right for the company. Kate says now would be a tie unless someone comes in to break the tie which means the status quo stands.

Gwen asks how Ned wants to make her pay. Ned responds that he wants one million dollars or else he will sing to the authorities and Xander. Gwen pleads with him not to say anything. Ned says he won’t if he gets his money. Gwen tells him that she will get him the money, but he will need to do something for her first. Ned argues that she’s in no position to make demands. Gwen explains that she doesn’t have money but Ava has access to the Vitali fortune. Gwen mentions that Ava is at the police department so if Ned can get her out of this mess, she promises to get him his pay day.

Xander tells Sarah that they were going to get married. Sarah pulls away from him. Xander wants to take her to see Maggie. Sarah calls him Alex Marshall. Xander complains that he doesn’t even know who that is. Sarah calls him a two faced bastard and says she never wants to see him again as she storms off. Gwen then walks up and calls out to Xander, asking if he’s alright. Xander informs her that he just saw Sarah.

Kate asks Mr. Shin if he’s voting for Jake since he knows it’s what is right for the company. Devil Johnny uses his power to overcome Mr. Shin, who then votes for Gabi to pass the motion. Kate and Jake can’t believe it while Gabi and Johnny celebrate. Jake questions Mr. Shin, who says that EJ is in prison while Chad and Tony abandoned their posts so it’s time for a change. Jake questions how Gabi could betray him like this. Gabi argues that Jake betrayed her first by going to the board to have Stefan’s shares transferred to his name. Jake says he didn’t do that. Gabi says Johnny showed him the papers. Jake argues that Johnny must have forged it just like he stole Maggie’s phone to text him. Gabi asks how he explains that she heard him telling Maggie that he only cared about the CEO job and that he didn’t care if she got Titan. Jake argues that he never met with Maggie. Gabi says she was there and heard every word. Gabi calls Jake a liar and a loser, so her first move as CEO will be have to security throw him out. Jake says none of this makes any sense. Johnny tells Gabi to get settled in her new office while he takes care of Jake.

Sarah goes to the DiMera Mansion and greets Tony. Tony asks if he can get her anything. Sarah hugs him and says she wants him to divorce Anna. Sarah adds that she tried to find Don Craig but no one has seen or heard from him in 35 years. Sarah says she did schedule an appointment with a lawyer and mentions running into “Alex Marshall”. Sarah adds that she also spoke to the lawyer about evicting Anna but Tony says no. Tony tells her that she can’t evict Anna. Sarah says it’s imperative that she does because she will not spend another night having Anna in bed with the man she loves.

Xander explains to Gwen that Sarah never really dumped him as it wasn’t her on the day of the wedding or the second time as she has been held captive on a deserted island this whole time. Gwen asks if Sarah wants to pick up where they left off. Xander says no which Gwen questions. Xander suggests they go to their room where he will try to explain because it’s kind of a long story.

Ned enters the interrogation room, disguised as a lawyer for Ava. Ava questions what is going on. Ned reveals that Gwen sent him to negotiate a deal with the district attorney and they have an appointment with Melinda shortly, after which Ava will walk out a free woman and suggests she leave by plane. Ned warns that his fees are steep but Gwen says Ava is good for it. Ned asks if he can count on her for payment. Ava confirms that he’s hired.

Chad goes to the DiMera Enterprises office and finds Gabi, who informs him that he is out and she is the new CEO.

Johnny laughs at Jake. Jake doesn’t know how he pulled this off but he knows he was behind it. Johnny mocks his ideas and says Jake can blame him but he just threw everything away. Johnny argues that Jake is powerless and impotent. Johnny tells him to get out before he throws him out. Jake says no, so Johnny threatens to call security. Jake grabs Johnny, who then turns in to the Devil and demands Jake get his hands off of him.

Update written by Kathleen
Proofread by Suzanne

At Liz’s house, Finn comes down the stairs and says that the shower has great water pressure. Liz tells him Franco installed a new head right before he was killed. She says it sometimes feels like he is still there. Finn notes that someone wants her to feel that way.

Brando laughs and says that he doesn’t know what to say about Sasha wanting to get married that day. She tells him to just say yes!

Lucy is showing Jax’s house to Portia and Curtis. She hints that Sonny might also be interested in buying the house.

At the Metro Court, Sonny tells Carly he remembers that today is the anniversary of Courtney’s death.

At the cemetery, Trina walks up behind Spencer. She wants to know why he is out of prison. He is concerned that somebody might be with her.

In the classroom, the video of Joss and Cam continues to play on the large screen. Joss yells for it to be turned off.

Lucy tells Portia and Curtis what a great house it is and that it would be a wonderful place to start a family.

Brando asks Sasha if she’s sure she won’t regret getting married so quickly without any friends or family there. She assures him she won’t. He is all she needs.

Back in the classroom, the teacher has dismissed class. She tells Joss and Cam that she’s sorry for not shutting down the video sooner. The kid who transferred it up to the large screen will face disciplinary action. She then cautions them to keep better track of their intimate, personal files. After she walks away, Joss and Cam look at each other, bewildered.

Spencer explains to Trina why he is at the cemetery. They hear someone start to approach. Spencer tells her not to let them know he is there. He runs and hides. Jordan walks up.

Carly asks Sonny if he would like a drink. He tells her he is trying to cut back. They discuss missing Courtney. Carly tells him that it hurts when she sees him, so maybe she should see him less.

Brando reminds Sasha that they never really discussed marriage before. She flashes back to holding Liam for the last time. She tells him that while they never specifically talked about marriage, they had been planning a life together. She is concerned that his feelings for her have changed. He assures her they haven’t; he just doesn’t understand why she wants to get married now.

Liz tells Finn that she didn’t sleep well. He mentions that he didn’t sleep well on the couch, either. She asks if he felt like he was being watched. He says  that he didn’t but felt that it was unsettling to find out Betsy wasn’t involved in the strange occurrences. He asks her if she’s asked for some sleep aid medication from her doctor. She replies that she’s taking something but doesn’t want to take anything too strong. She’s worried about her boys, especially Jake. He needs help, but she doesn’t think she can give it to him.

Jordan tells Trina that she heard voices. Trina said she was just taking voice notes on her phone for a class.

Joss and Cam are upset as they realize how many people have received their video. For a moment, Cam thinks Joss is accusing him of sending the video. Esme, eavesdropping outside the room, smiles.

Sasha tells Brando that she doesn’t see any reason to wait. Brando wants to make sure it’s about them and not Liam.

Finn and Liz discuss who might be behind the strange occurrences. They are worried that it might be Jake. Finn suggests that a change of scenery might help.  He wants to take her and the kids to the beach. She responds that she can’t go anywhere with him.

Portia and Curtis like the house. However, Curtis is concerned it’s too big. She reminds him that Trina will still be around for a few more years. She suggests that his dad could move in as well.

Jordan is at her old friend Mark’s grave. She says she is back and “the bad guys are on notice.”

Sonny tells Carly that he doesn’t want to be the reason she’s hurting. He suggests that they could go back to not seeing each other at all, like when he was dead. Carly laughs, and remarks, “Nina would love that.”  He tells her that if she wants to avoid him all together, then he’ll do it.

Spencer assures Trina that he didn’t escape;  Victor arranged for him to have a furlough. She calls him overprivileged and spoiled. He assures her that he’s only there because it’s his dead mom’s birthday. She is touched as he talks about Courtney.

Cam denies that he recorded them in bed. Joss apologies for doubting him, but she can’t figure out who would have done such a thing. Esme, still listening outside, makes a noise. She starts to run away, but Joss stops her.

Spencer tells Trina that he knows being his friend must be exhausting. She says that every time she’s ready to give up on him, he does something to redeem himself.

Esme, acting nice, says to Joss and Cam how awful it is about the video. They have her full support. She asks if there is any way it can be unsent or if it is just out there for the whole world to “enjoy.” Joss says that there is only one person enjoying this: “the bitch in front of me.”

Finn says to Elizabeth that he understands why they can’t go away, under the circumstances. She tells him she needs to concentrate on her boys. He  gets that because Violet is his priority. She responds that his coming in second won’t work for her, either.

Sasha thanks Brando for being honest. She tells him he brings her great joy, and she never wants to let him go.

Jordan comes into the Metro Court. She thanks Carly for her help with getting Cyrus. Sonny tells Jordan that they worked well together. She agrees but says that was when they had a common enemy — now their collaboration is over.

Curtis tells Portia that he’s not interested in having his father move in, but he does want to buy the house.

Trina tells Spencer to be careful. He is close to the end of his sentence and doesn’t shouldn’t do anything to miss it up. He asks her how she liked the book he gave her. She says she’ll discuss with him after her gets out of prison.

Esme denies that she had anything to do with the video. She claims that she only wants to be their friend.

Brando tells Sasha that he’ll marry her any time and place she wants.

Finn tells Liz he will give her some time, but he’ill wait for her.

Jordan tells Sonny that whatever happens, he should know she won’t be looking the other way.

Sasha takes a pill.

Spencer tells Courtney’s grave that the next time he comes back, he’ill be a free man… one she can be proud of.

As Esme continues to deny she is responsible for the video, Joss and Cam scoff that it’s obvious it was her. Esme says it couldn’t have been her because she wasn’t there. She says that they should blame someone who was.  Right then, they turn and look as Trina enters the room.

Recap written by Christine

Jack looked at a picture of Keemo with some other women. He commented that his son looked so happy. Jack recognized Mai, Keemo’s half sister, but he didn’t know who the other two people were. Jack was frustrated because he wasn’t sure what to make of all this – lured here by an anonymous person, who had now gone radio silent. Phyllis suggested that this person just wanted to point Jack in the right direction.

Jack and Phyllis decided to go through Keemo’s box again and look for clues. Phyllis pulled out a silk scarf, and Jack took it from her. She asked if he recognized it. He didn’t, and that was the issue. He didn’t know anything about Keemo. To Jack, it was one thing to read letters Keemo addressed to him, but it was another to be rifling through through Keemo’s most prized possessions. Phyllis noted that Jack was going back and forth between being curious and feeling like he was violating Keemo’s memory. She bluntly told him that Keemo was gone. She said this box wasn’t left here by accident – the person who sent the texts wanted him to go through it. She understood if he didn’t want her to go through this with him. She was trying to be supportive. She told him he couldn’t give up. She thought the answers he was looking for were here.

Phyllis thought they should go rest and get some food. Jack said that was a good idea, but he went back to the box. He found tickets to a Broadway show and wondered who Keemo took with him. He found more postcards from Vietnam, a decoration from a wedding, and a necklace. Jack flashed back to giving that necklace to Luan on Christmas 1995. She wished she’d found something good to give him. He said she already gave him the greatest gift of all – the son he’d always wanted.

Jack told Phyllis about giving the gift to Luan. After she died, Jack sent it to Keemo, along with some other keepsakes. Jack found a picture of himself and Luan at their wedding in the box. He cried because it was a sign that Keemo never completely erased Jack from his life.

Jack thought he’d lost Luan forever, but the stars aligned and they found each other. Keemo had been hurt when they tracked him down at first – he felt abandoned. Jack won Keemo over, and he’d been the best man at the wedding. That was why it hurt more when Keemo cut Jack out. The wedding had been a mix of American and Vietnamese traditions. Luan wore red. There was a flashback to the wedding. In the present, Jack said that it was a miracle that he found Luan. Again. “We were supposed to spend the rest of our lives together as a family.

Jack found a statement of paternity in Keemo’s things. It was something Jack had drawn up and gave to Keemo after the wedding. Phyllis said it must’ve meant something to Keemo. It made Jack wonder if he and Keemo could’ve reconciled if they’d seen each other face to face. Phyllis saw no need for Jack to torture himself with what-ifs. Jack still wondered what if he’d disregarded all those angry emails and stood firm. He said it was a parent’s job to know when your child needed you to push back and see that there were needs underneath all that anger. Phyllis didn’t think Jack should go down that path. It was also hard for her to watch him struggle with this when there was no solution. He wasn’t sure he could get closure without asking the tough questions. She understood, but she didn’t think this was the time. She thought they should deal with the real reason they came here – figuring out who was sending the texts. He agreed that they should focus. He picked up the photo again, and she wondered if one of the women in it was sending the text messages.

Found another doctor who gave info to Baldwin. Took care of all three of them,” the text Ashland received said. Victoria was waiting for Ashland when he walked into the office. She wondered what took him so long, since they both left Crimson Lights at the same time. He said he got caught up by a traffic light. Earlier, he’d told her that there was something he needed to tell her about her father. Victoria wanted to know what was going on. She asked what Victor said to him in private.

Ashland was hesitant because Victoria was close to her dad. She said he knew she had a complicated relationship with her father, and she didn’t need to be protected from his latest machinations. Ashland told Victoria that some quack was saying he’d lied about his treatment and falsified medical records and faked cancer. Ashland said that, for some reason, Victor trusted this person. Victoria thought that was insane. Ashland said it got worse – Victor was threatening to tell Victoria all this if Ashland didn’t disappear from her life. Ashland was adamant that he did not fake his cancer. Victoria said this was outrageous. Ashland agreed, and that was why he was telling her this. He didn’t trust her father. Ashland didn’t want Victoria to hear this news from anyone else. Victoria asked why Victor suddenly turned on Ashland. Ashland didn’t know, unless Victor honestly believed the lies from this horrible doctor. Victoria said she met with Ashland’s oncologist in NY, and she’d seen his medical records – there was no doubt he had cancer. Victoria was sure her father would come to her if he really believed this, so she couldn’t imagine what Victor was thinking.

Ashland said Victor was a protective father and protective mogul, and maybe he didn’t want someone without Newman blood running the company. Victoria said people outside the family had been the CEO of Newman Enterprises. Ashland said Victor might want him out of the company. Victoria couldn’t believe her father would think she would find Ashland capable of doing something like this. He said that he’d been called the Locke Ness Monster. She hated the name – it bore no resemblance to the man she loved. He said the name fit like a glove once, but he changed because of her.

Victoria said Ashland was self-made, and she had nothing to do with the man he’d become. He thought she underestimated the effect she’d had on him. She said he’d gone through a lot, and it gave him a new perspective. He agreed, but he said their love made him a better man. He was eternally grateful she’d banished that other side of him forever. She’d learned that you couldn’t change a person unless they wanted to be changed. She knew he’d made bad choices, but so had her family, her father chief among them. That was why she couldn’t believe and accept that Victor turned on her and Ashland.

At Newman Media, Sally had been hesitant about leaving fashion for the business world, but she found this invigorating. Sally shifted gears and asked Adam how he thought Victoria was doing. She noted that he’d said Victoria might be headed for heartbreak. At that point, Victor showed up wanting a private word with his son. Sally said she’d go to Society, and Adam said he’d join her when he was finished. She left. Victor hoped Adam kept the details of Ashland’s latest deception to himself. Adam saw that Sally and Adam were close, and she wasn’t known for her deception. Adam hadn’t said a word about Ashland faking his illness. Victor told Ashland to get out of town and leave Victoria, or else Victor would tell her everything.

Victor said that if Victoria found out Ashland used her for the merger, she’d be devastated. Adam said that she’d be devastated either way, unless Nick was right and Victoria forgave Ashland for this, just as she forgave him for everything else. Victor didn’t think that would happen, but he was trying to protect the family by insisting that Ashland get out of town. Victor thought that it would be easier for Victoria to get over being left than to learn that Ashland used her and that the wedding was all a ruse.

Victor said he hadn’t been able to contact Michael since he confronted Ashland. Michael had assured Victor that he was sending all the pertinent information by courier. Victor got a call from an investigator. Michael and the two Peruvian doctors had disappeared. Adam wondered if Ashland got to them. Victor said he was going to deal with it.

Lauren and Chloe were at Society. Lauren was missing Michael. She’d been hesitant about him taking this job for Victor, because she knew it would take a lot of time, but now he was in Peru, and he kept saying he was coming home soon, but that clearly wasn’t true. She’d been trying to contact him since last night, but he wasn’t responding. Chloe said, if Michael was anything like Kevin, he didn’t like texting at work. Lauren sent another text. Lauren needed a distraction, so she asked how Chloe and Chelsea were coming along with the Sally-free fashion label. Chloe said that she and Chelsea were a little behind for the summer deadline, but Chelsea had pulled strings, and she thought they’d meet their goals. Sally walked in and asked how Chloe’s new line was going. Chloe said it was in the beginning stages, but it was going great. Chloe asked about Sally’s job. Sally found her new niche – she was good at business, and she and Adam made a great team.

Lauren excused herself. Sally wondered if it was something she said. “No doubt,” Chloe said. Chloe was happy Lauren stepped away though, because she wanted to talk to Sally. Chloe loved working with Sally, and she was proud of what they created at Newman Fashion. Sally said things had been great until Chelsea got involved. Sally really enjoyed working with Chloe too, and she was sorry it didn’t last, but it seemed like everyone landed where they were supposed to. Chloe hoped Sally hadn’t given up on her dreams. Sally saw Adam walking in and said she hadn’t given up on them at all.

Adam asked if Lauren heard from Michael. Lauren said that, since Michael was on business for Adam’s father, it seemed like they’d know more about what Michael was doing than she did. Adam was sure Lauren talked to Michael more often than Victor did. Adam and Sally went to their table. Lauren was feeling even more worried after Adam’s fake nonchalance. She called Victor and asked if he’d talked to Michael. He said he had been in regular contact with him. She asked him to tell Michael to call her the next time they talked. The call ended. Lauren told Chloe that she didn’t feel any better.

Sally thought she should be included on what was going on with the Newmans, since she worked at the family business. Adam told Sally not to push it. He told her that, for her own protection, she didn’t want to be anywhere near this, because it might not turn out how Victor hoped. She asked if Adam would be affected if Victor’s plan failed. Adam doubted it would effect him in a bad way. He said that if Victor miscalculated and it created a rift with Victoria, the dynamic might change at Newman Locke, which might work in Adam’s favor.

Victor called Ashland. “No more stalling. You have one hour or I take everything I know straight to Victoria,” Victor threatened. “Do it. I’m not going anywhere,” Ashland replied.

He was touched when he discovered a picture of himself with Luan that Keemo had kept. Jack was curious about the women in the picture with Keemo. He wondered if one of them was behind the texts. Ashland received an ominous text stating that Michael and the doctors who gave him information had been taken care of. Ashland told Victoria that Victor had been taken in by some quack who was saying Ashland never had cancer. Victoria was sure Ashland had cancer, as she’d talked to his oncologist in NY. Victoria didn’t understand why Victor would think such a thing or turn on her and Ashland.

Sally was happy about making the jump to the business world. Victor let Adam know about the ultimatum he gave Ashland. Adam wasn’t sure Victor’s plan would work. Lauren was becoming worried because she hadn’t been able to reach Michael. Chloe tried to keep Lauren positive. Paulina went to TR’s room to give him back the flowers he gave her. She dropped them at his feet. They went back and forth with each other. He let her know that he was staying in Salem for the movie and to get to know Lani. She didn’t approve of him seeing Lani. He said if Lani could forgive her betrayal, she could forgive him. She said her deceit and his abuse were two different things. TR talked about his wrongdoings. He told her that he went to prison for using a client’s money to buy drugs. He said it was the best thing that happened to him was hitting rock bottom. TR told Paulina that he rebuilt his life, but he couldn’t enjoy it because he felt guilty. He said he could finally make things right. Paulina said flowers wouldn’t fix anything. She thought about giving Lani flowers after what she did. She said she was a hypocrite but forgiveness had to be earned. He was willing to put in the time because he never got over her. He didn’t think he ever would. He wanted to make it up to her and make things right with Lani. He asked her to think about it. She left his room, but she thought about what he said.

Johnny told Tripp that Allie slept with Chanel. Tripp told him that he was lying. Johnny told him that he heard them talking about it at the town square. Tripp wanted to talk to Allie alone. Chanel and Johnny left them alone. Tripp wanted Allie to be honest with him. Allie started crying while admitting to being with Chanel. She told him how it happened and admitted that it was a mistake. She said she loved him. She said she wanted him. She wanted to marry him. Tripp thought she had to be kidding. He had no intention of marring her. She begged him not to leave. He told her there was no way he was marrying her. He told her they were done and he wanted the ring back. She gave him back the ring and started crying. He walked away from her.  Chanel yelled at Johnny for what he did to Allie. He said he knew what it was like to be married to the wrong person. She was upset and told him that she would take him to the cleaners. He made inappropriate comments to her so she left. Johnny went back to the DiMera mansion. He gloated over the pain he caused Allie and Chanel. Johnny screamed out. He refused to let the devil hurt the people he loved. The devil grabbed a letter opener and threatened to kill his cousins if he didn’t stop fighting him. Johnny didn’t want him to do that so he gave in to him.

General Hospital Updates

Update written by Kathleen
Proofread by Suzanne

Sasha wakes up to find a shirtless Brando sitting on the side of the bed, holding two cups of coffee. They discuss how happy they are to be on vacation and to be together.

At the university, Trina’s teacher comes up to her after class. She is concerned that although Trina is doing well in the class, she is being very quiet. The teacher reminds her that class participation is part of her grade.

Outside a classroom, Cam asks Joss if things are still weird between her and Trina. She says Trina only comes back to their room to sleep and won’t return any of her texts or calls. They agree that things have been strange since they got back from the cabin. Joss says they are only getting worse, and she blames Esme.

Esme is at the Spring Ridge prison. She has flashbacks to setting up the phone at the cabin to video, switching phones and throwing away the pill bottle. Spencer is sitting at a table in the prison “lounge” reading “The Brothers Karamazov.” Esme comes up from behind him, kisses him and wishes him a belated happy birthday. He chastises her, saying she could get him into trouble if the wrong guard sees. She starts to leave but then turns around and asks why he is in such a bad mood.

Carly is behind the bar at the Metro Court, looking at her phone with an unhappy look on her face. Sam comes up and says that the day of hatchet-throwing must not have helped. Carly tells her it did help her blow off some steam, but she was sad today. She says she has been thinking about Courtney and holds up a phone with Courtney’s picture on it. She says that today is the anniversary of her death.

Sonny is standing over Courtney’s grave. He says her son is a full-grown man and has gotten into trouble. He tells her couldn’t be there last year on this day and he’s sure she knows why. He says that he knows she is always watching out for him. He wants her to know she is always in his heart. Just then, Nikolas walks up, holding flowers, and says she is always in his heart, too. They glare at each other.

Back at the Metro Court, Laura looks concerned as she sees Victor greet Ava with a kiss on the cheek. Victor declines Ava’s invitation to join her and Nik for brunch. Laura asks Victor if he has been keeping a low profile in order avoid being implicated in an ongoing investigation.

Drew and Anna come out of Kelly’s and comment on how cold it is outside. Drew says it was too bad they weren’t in PC during the heat wave. Anna says she wanted to talk to him because she is worried about him. She thinks Victors is up to something dangerous.

Back at the cemetery, Sonny tells Nik he didn’t expect to see him there. He responds that he loved Courtney and wanted to marry her. Sonny asks him, if Courtney had lived, does he think they would still be together. Nik first says, “yes,” but then says he doesn’t know. Sonny tells him that at least he’s being honest. He reminds him that she will always be the mother of his child – just like Carly will always be the mother of Sonny’s children.

At the Metro Court, Carly says that she feels like all her connections to Courtney are slipping away. Sam says that although she and Courtney were not friends, perhaps if she had lived, they could have become friends. If she and Elizabeth can be friends, anything is possible.

Victor tells Laura he has no idea what she is talking about. She flashes back to telling Sam her suspicions about the Ice Princess and Luke’s death. He asks her if she is trying to accuse him of having something to do with Peter. After Victor leaves, Laura asks Ava what is going on between them.

Back outside of Kelly’s, Anna tells Drew about Liesel bugging Victor and that she heard the conversation when Victor tried to activate Drew with the card. He asks if she’s talked about what Victor might be up to with Valentin because he usually has great insights. She says that she had informed him that Valentin had developed an infection and was being treated at a clinic out of town. Anna says she hopes that they can expose Victor before Valentin comes home. She fears that Victor will try and exploit the father-son relationship the way he does with the rest of his family.

At Spring Ridge, Spencer apologizes to Esme. He says he’s upset because it is the anniversary of his mother’s death,  and he can’t place flowers on her grave.

At the university, Trina is short with Joss when she asks about a class. Joss asks if Trina is still mad at her because of what happened the other day with Esme.

Back at the prison, Esme offers to place flowers at the grave for Spencer. He becomes upset that he can’t do it himself because of choices he made and that she doesn’t understand. She responds sarcastically  that Trina would.

Brando and Sasha are sitting on the bed, kissing. They decide to blow off their other vacation plans and stay in bed. They fall back on the bed, kissing.

At the cemetery, Sonny tells Nik that Courtney would have been a good mother. Nik says she would have been a good influence on Spencer. Maybe she could have negated some of the mistakes he made. When Sonny doesn’t respond, Nik tells him he is supposed to say he did the best he could. Sonny says he’s not going to lie. He doesn’t believe that.

Trina and Joss argue about the situation with Esme. When Joss mentions the book Spencer gave Trina, Cam questions her about it. Trina tells him it wasn’t a Valentine’s Day present; she just happened to receive in from Spenser via Laura on Valentine’s Day. Trina gets on Joss about not keeping confidences. Joss apologies for betraying her trust but won’t apologize for defending friends.

Spencer wonders why Esme never talks about her parents. She says she doesn’t like talking about them. She asks about the gift he gave Trina. He says he always gives thank you gifts because it’s easier than writing notes. It was just a coincidence that his grandmother gave it to her on Valentine’s Day. Victor walks up and apologizes for not visiting him on his birthday.

Ava asks Laura if she doesn’t trust her. Laura says it looked like she and Victor were too cozy. Ava says she doesn’t trust Victor.

Drew tells Anna he doesn’t understand what use he would be to Victor. Anna says she thinks Victor may think Drew has useful information.

Laura tells Ava that she can’t say anything negative about Victor to Nik or Spencer. It would only drive them closer to him. However, she knows Ava is smarter than that.

Sonny and Nik continue to discuss Nik’s parenting. Nik says he can’t change the past. Sonny tells him he should own and admit his mistakes and more forward.

Sam tells Carly things are great with Dante. Carly asks about her relationship with Drew. Sam says they decided they were better as friends and co-parents. She asks Carly why she is interested. She responds that she just wants to look out for him because he has been looking out for her recently.

Laura encourages Ava to get close to Victor in hopes he will slip up and say something about what he might be planning.

Back over at the bar, Carly tells Sam that Drew is easy to talk to. Laura walks up to talk to Sam. She tells her some details have come to light about Victor’s associate, Johann. She thought she should know because it involves Drew.

After walking away from Victor and Spencer, Esme looks down at a phone with a shot of Joss and Cam in bed. She says to herself, “time to get this done.”  Spencer complains to Victor about not being able to leave flowers on his mother’s grave but says he could do it if Victor would bust him out.

As Drew and Anna are discussing Victor wanting access to Drew’s old memories, Laura and Sam walk up. Laura tells Anna she thinks Drew has a right to know the truth.

Spencer tries to get Victor into arranging a furlough for him to visit the grave. He tells him they are Cassadines and family is everything.

Trina and Joss continue to argue. Trina tells Joss it’s not always about her. She should think about what she is going through. Esme walks up and says that they can cut the tension with a knife.

After Nik leaves, Sonny speaks to the grave. He tells Courtney he will watch out for Spencer, just like he knows she is watching out for all of his lost loved ones.

In bed, Brando and Sasha tell each other, “I love you.” They discuss how much better sex is in a bed instead of where they were the first time, in the backseat of a car. Sasha excuses herself to another room and takes some pills.

Joss tells Trina that she’ll skip class so they can talk some more. Trina tells her no, “maybe some other time.”

Nik comes into the Metro Court. He tells Carly that Courtney would be proud of what she has done with the hotel. She tells him he just missed his mother and that she seemed to be getting into it with Victor and Ava.

Anna and Laura tell Drew that they think Victor had something to do with Luke’s death. Drew wonders what it could have to do with him, since he barely knew Luke. Anna thinks that there are common threads. She suggests that they go to Austria to investigate. Laura thinks that could be risky. Sam says there could be another way.

Sasha, acting slightly under the influence, says she is loving their time away and dreads going back to real life. Brandon says he wants to spend the rest of his life with her. She says they should do it and get married today.

Sonny is getting out of an elevator at the Metro Court, just as Carly is about to get in.

Sam tells Drew that something in his past motivated Victor to help Peter escape. Laura wonders if Victor got a hold of Andre Maddox about Drew’s memories. Anna says she’ll contact him, but she is certain he would never reveal anything. They talk about setting some kind of trap for Victor.

Victor (still at the prison) is on the phone telling someone that he fears this is the calm before the storm.

Nik asks Ava what she and his mother were discussing. Carly had told him that it looked intense. She told him it was nothing – Laura just wanted to make sure she was taking good care of him. She suggests they invite Victor to dinner.

Spencer is at Courtney’s grave when Trina walks up, surprised, and wants to know why he is out of prison.

Joss, Cam and Esme are in class. The teacher is doing a presentation on a large screen. Esme picks up her phone. There is a screenshot of Joss and Cam in bed. As Joss gets up to leave class, Esme hits an upload file button on the phone.  The phones of everyone in the class start to go off,  and they start to laugh. The teacher asks what’s so important. One of the kids in the class transfers the video of Joss and Cam onto the large screen. Joss and Cam look horrified. Esme looks very pleased.

Young & The Restless Update

Recap written by Christine

In the hallway of Newman Locke, Victoria asked Nick what Victor was supposed to be saying to her. Nick was confused. “Dad talked to you. You already know,” he said. Victoria was gettinfg upset because she thought Nick was lying to her. She said she’d always been able to count on him to be honest with her, even if they were disagreeing. She asked what was going on. He wouldn’t respond, so she went back into the office to confront their parents. Nick joined her. Victoria accused everyone in the room of conspiring about her behind her back. “Please tell me what’s going on,” she said. Victor said that Victoria already knew what was going on – he asked her and Ashland to hold off on signing the paper making him a co-CEO until they knew how Ashland’s health was doing. Victoria knew all that, but she also knew everyone was keeping something from her.

Nicholas assumed that dad had told me something, but when I asked what that something might be, he wasn’t very forthcoming,” Victoria said. “I was just trying too…” Nick started. Victoria replied that she thought he was trying to cover something up. She asked Victor what was going on, given that he seemed to be spying on her and Ashland. Victor said he didn’t need to spy – his name was on the building. Nick pretended that he’d just wanted to ask Victoria about signing the co-CEO contract. She told Nick that he didn’t work here, so he had no business knowing about that. He said that, as her brother, he cared about things that affected her. Nikki said Nick was looking out for Victoria. Victor said he cared too, and he didn’t think Ashland should become co-CEO. Victor said that Victoria had done a damn good job running the company by herself. Victoria knew something else was going on here, but she decided to go check on her husband. “Stay out of my business and leave me and Ashland alone!,” she spat, then she left.

Nick digested the news that Victoria wanted to make Ashland co-CEO. Victor said it was Ashland’s idea – Ashland was inching closer to wanting to take over the company. Nikki was still giving Ashland the benefit of the doubt, and Nick didn’t think she should. Nikki thought there might be more to the story than they knew, but she admitted things weren’t looking good for Ashland. Which was why she’d advised Victoria not to sign the contract. Victor wasn’t going to tell Victoria that Ashland faked his cancer, unless he had no choice. Nick wasn’t comfortable hiding things from Victoria while Victor figured out how to deal with Ashland. Nick said Victoria was furious with them. Victor said that was too bad – it beat the alternative of Ashland taking over the family business. This was why Nick had wanted to stay out of this, but now he couldn’t because he couldn’t turn his back on Victoria, and he had to make sure Ashland paid. Victor said he’d take care of everything. Nick hoped so. He left.

Nikki thought Nick was right to be concerned. She said when Victor confronted Ashland, he didn’t even blink or show any remorse. Victor said Ashland would be gone soon enough. Nikki said Ashland was trapped in a corner, and that was when men like that were dangerous. Nikki said Ashland wouldn’t back down from a fight, the same as Victor. She worried that Victor didn’t have as much of a handle on the situation as he thought he did. Victor said that if Ashland tried anything, Victor would show him no mercy.

Ashland finished his drink and was leaving Society when Nate walked in. Nate had been thinking about Ashland’s job offer, and though they’d need to discuss terms before he could make a decision, he was leaning toward accepting it. Ashland was friendly, but he kind of blew Nate off and kept walking. Nate asked what was going on. Ashland apologized and said not to read anything into his mood. Ashland was late for a meeting, but he wanted to have a discussion with Nate later, maybe over dinner. Concerned, Nate said Ashland seemed frazzled, and he didn’t look well. Ashland said he was fine. Nate said he didn’t mean to pry. Ashland said that his old symptoms had returned, and he was feeling a little nervous.

Nate and Ashland sat down at the bar and Nate asked Ashland about his symptoms. Ashland said that he felt fatigued or had trouble breathing a couple times a week, but it was manageable. It might just be a bug. Nate said that Ashland needed to see his oncologist. Ashland said that was the appointment he’d been on his way to when Nate stopped him. Nate offered to accompany Ashland, for support. Ashland appreciated the offer, but he declined and said he’d call Nate afterward and tell him what the doctor said. Ashland got a text from Victoria saying to call her. She mentioned she was at Crimson Lights. After Ashland left, Nikki and Victor ran into Nate at Society. they started talking about Nate possibly coming to work for Newman Locke. Victor and Nikki’s interest was piqued when Nate mentioned that he just saw Ashland. Nikki asked if Ashland’s health seemed okay. Nate remembered Victor asking about Ashland’s health the last time they talked. Victor said Ashland was family, and they were concerned because the last time they saw him, he had a hard time breathing.

Nate didn’t want to disclose medical information. Victor said he wasn’t asking for test results, just asking if Ashland seemed healthy. Nate admitted Ashland seemed under the weather, but that could be stress or a common cold. Nate left. Victor asked what Nikki thought. Nikki wasn’t ready to condemn Ashland for going to Society when he was supposedly sick. She suggested that he’d come to get some takeout on the way home. “Maybe he wasn’t acting acting at all. Maybe he just isn’t feeling well,” she said. Victor didn’t buy it. Nikki was still struggling with the idea that Ashland lied about his health. Victor knew Nikki didn’t want to believe Ashland had deceived Victoria. Nikki suggested that the doctors lied to Michael and said what they thought Victor wanted to hear in hopes of a big payout. Victor trusted Michael. Nikki thought they needed to be certain before Victor did anything.

At Crimson Lights, Victoria called Ashland. She said she went home to check on him, and he wasn’t there. She was worried. Sharon overheard the call. As Sharon got Victoria’s drink, Victoria asked if Ashland had stopped in. She explained that he’d been feeling sick, and now she didn’t know where he was. Sharon said if she saw Ashland, she’d tell him Victoria was looking for him. Nick showed up and asked Victoria to talk. She was on her way out, but agreed to give him a minute. He didn’t like how they left things at the office. They rehashed the conversation from earlier. He said things hadn’t been the same between them since the wedding, and he hated that. He didn’t want her to shut him out.

Victoria didn’t want to lose the progress she and Nick made, but after today, it was hard for her to believe he was on her side. She knew he didn’t like or respect Ashland. He said he was trying, and she said that was all she wanted. Ashland came in and overheard Victoria say she wanted her family to accept Ashland and stop trying to undermine her happiness. Ashland walked up and put his arm around Victoria. Ashland said he and Victoria wanted Nick to see that Ashland loved and cared about Victoria and would do anything to make her happy. Ashland said there was no need to worry about Victoria where he was concerned, and she didn’t need protecting. Nick said that was good to know. Ashland thought it’d help if Victoria knew Nick was on her side. Nick said he always was. Victoria wanted to believe that. Ashland wanted Victoria to have anything her heart desired. He asked if they could all just work together. Sharon walked up and told Nick that she needed to talk to him about Mariah and Tessa. She took him out to the patio.

Nick asked what was going on with Mariah and Tessa. Sharon just said that to get Nick away from Ashland. Sharon knew Nick well enough to know he was a split second from doing something he’d regret. Nick admitted he was two minutes from losing it on Ashland and confronting him. It would’ve been disastrous because Ashland would’ve denied everything and Victoria would’ve sided with him. Nick said he went to see Victoria earlier and accidentally created a minefield. He said his dad had a plan to get Ashland out of their lives without Victoria ever knowing the truth. He appreciated Sharon pulling him away from Ashland, and he was glad she was always there for him. She said anytime.

Ashland hoped they got through to Nick. Victoria was more concerned about Ashland’s health. She thought he should be home in bed. He was feeling better. She hoped her father’s interference didn’t’ contribute to how he was feeling. He said it was a momentary thing, and he was fine. She was planning to move ahead with their agreement. She asked if he signed the contract. He said not yet. He got a text. “Found another doctor who gave info to Baldwin. Took care of all three of them” it said. Ashland told Victoria that there was something he needed to tell her about Victor.

Phyllis and Jack went to the house in LA that he’d learned about through the mysterious texts. “This is Keemo’s house,” Jack said. He felt nervous, because he didn’t know who or what was at the other side of the door. He knocked and nobody answered, so he was going to leave, but she tried the door, and it was unlocked. They debated whether or not it’d be okay to just walk in. Phyllis figured that the texter left the door unlocked on purpose for Jack. He didn’t agree. Phyllis reasoned that since Keemo’s obituary didn’t mention a wife, Jack was probably next of kin, so he had a right to go into the house. Jack noted that the obituary didn’t mention Keemo’s half-sister either. The half sister had been out of the country for decades. Entering the house didn’t feel right to Jack, but Phyllis said they didn’t come all this way to leave without answers. She opened the door, and he hesitantly went inside and called out asking if anyone was home. Most of Keemo’s personal effects had been moved out, and the furniture was covered, so the walls could be repainted. Jack wondered who packed up the house. He hoped Keemo had someone close in his life.

Jack wondered why someone wanted him to come to this empty house. He felt like he was trespassing. “I feel like Keemo wouldn’t want me here,” he said. Phyllis suggested that Jack see this as a way to reconnect with his son. Jack said Keemo died not wanting anything to do with him. Phyllis told Jack she was here for him, but she wasn’t going to let him second-guess himself. She told him that he chose not to blow off the texts. She thought that this was a way to reconnect with his son. He thought it was too late, but she believed he could at least find out who Keemo became. She added that they could find out who was sending him the texts. He did want to know who the texter was, and he wanted to find out something about Keemo’s life. He wanted to know Keemo built a happy life, even if Jack wasn’t included in it.

They checked the house, and it was all as empty as the living room. Jack wondered if this living room was the place Keemo spent the most of his time – did he enjoy the sunrise here? Sit on this couch and read? It was hard trying to piece together the life of someone you didn’t know well, but who was very important to you. Jack went through a box and found a stack of envelopes addressed to him. Letters written by Keemo, but never sent. Phyllis noted that this was the only box in the house, so it was clear that it was left here for Jack. She was going to leave Jack alone with the letters, but he asked her to stay. Jack noted that Keemo signed all his letters with his birth name, Keemo, not Hao.

In the letters, Keemo was clearly working through his feelings about Jack. Jack didn’t know if Keemo ever planned to mail them or if writing them was a therapeutic exercise. In one letter, Keemo said he tried to let his anger with Jack go, but after he left Genoa City, something inside him wouldn’t be at peace. In another, Keemo apologized for the angry emails he’d sent Jack. Keemo explained that he’d been angry about all the time he’d lost with his mother, because he didn’t know she was dying. Jack said Laun didn’t want anyone to know she was ill. “She didn’t tell me. I found out by accident. Kept it to myself,” Jack told Phyllis. Phyllis said it must’ve been difficult for Jack to keep that from everyone, including Luan. Jack didn’t say anything to Keemo, because he thought he was honoring Luan’s wishes.

I finally found some peace. I changed my name to Hao Nguyen,” Keemo wrote. Keemo/Hao explained that he was honoring his mother’s memory by taking his maternal grandfather’s the name, and freeing himself from the conflict of being Jack Abbott’s son. “I feel like I’m on a new path,” the letter said, and Jack’s voice broke as he read it. Phyllis assured Jack that he was a great man and an incredible father. Jack said it seemed that Keemo found a way to move on. “I’m no longer angry, but I can’t look back for fear that rage will return. So while I’ve forgiven you, I can’t ever have a relationship with you. It’s better for everyone. I hope that you can understand that and forgive me. Your son, Keemo.”

Phyllis thought Jack was being selfless. She said Keemo chose something that was good for him, but bad for Jack. Jack agreed that it wasn’t good for him. He hated that Keemo never felt comfortable enough to reach out for him, but he was glad Keemo found some forgiveness in his heart at the end. All the letters were written in the last twelve months, as if Keemo knew he didn’t have much longer to live. Phyllis pointed out that the obituary said it was a heart attack. Jack knew that heart attacks were usually sudden, but he wondered if Keemo had received a diagnosis that made him decide to work through these issues. Jack sighed about all the questions, and Phyllis promised they’d get answers.

Phyllis went to the backyard. She returned and reported that it was gorgeous, filled with flowers, and there was an orange tree. She asked if Jack wanted to see it. He wanted to leave, as he was feeling overwhelmed. Phyllis said there were more letters to go through, so he couldn’t stop now. She picked up the letters and found a picture of Keemo, two women and a young girl. She showed it to Jack. On the back, it said Vietnam, June 2012.

Update written by Joseph

Anna is at home wondering what is taking so long when Tony then returns home. Anna rushes up and hugs him. Anna asks if he’s alright as she had been so worried. Tony responds that he’s fine, Kristen got away, but he and Chad were able to bring Abigail, Steve, and Kayla safely home. Anna admits she had a queasy feeling when she heard where he was headed. Tony acknowledges the island does have history. Anna brings up his romantic trip with Renee DuMonde. Tony says that was a lifetime ago. Anna states that it was silly to bring up since they know Renee is long dead. Tony then informs her that Renee was there.

Steve and Kayla have Sarah in the hospital. Sarah questions why she’s being held in this hospital against her will. Kayla says they are just running tests. Sarah reminds them that they weren’t poisoned and demands that they stop calling her Sarah.

Ava sits in the interrogation room, remarking that the three losers who framed Rafe better not have ratted her out. Chad enters the room and greets her. Ava asks what he’s doing here. Chad responds that he’s here to find out why she kidnapped his wife and who helped her do it.

Gwen has a nightmare about Abigail showing up at her and Xander’s door with the truth about what happened to Sarah.

Anna doesn’t understand since they know Renee DuMonde died years ago. Tony clarifies that he meant “Renee” because that’s what she calls herself and actually believes that she is Renee. Anna asks who she really is. Tony reveals that it’s Sarah Horton.

Kayla tells Sarah that she is Sarah and only thinks she isn’t because of the drug she was injected with last year. Sarah questions how a drug can make her think that she’s someone else. Steve says they aren’t sure yet. Kayla says that’s why they need to do an MRI and CT scan to check brain damage. Sarah wants to get home to Tony and Chad.

Ava claims to have no idea what Chad is talking about and that she doesn’t even know Abigail. Chad says the police believe otherwise. Ava questions what the police think she did with Abigail. Chad says locked her away on a deserted island where he just found her. Ava asks if he thinks she brought her there. Chad says maybe not personally, but she was masquerading as Sarah at the airfield when Abigail was knocked out. Ava says she didn’t lay a hand on her. Chad says someone knocked Abigail unconscious and Ava was there, so he asks who was helping her. Ava thinks back to Gwen knocking Abigail out at the airfield. Chad tells Ava that she can act innocent, but he’s not leaving until she identifies her accomplice.

Gwen wakes up from her nightmare about Abigail telling Xander about Sarah in a panic. Xander asks her what’s going on and if she’s alright.

Jack and Jennifer anxiously wait at home for Abigail to return. Abigail comes in and they rush up to embrace her, check on her, and tell her how glad they are that she’s home. Abigail assures that she’s fine. Jennifer asks where Chad is. Abigail reveals that he went to go confront her kidnapper.

Ava tells Chad that the mask was just a harmless prank. Chad argues that she still stood there and did nothing while someone knocked out his wife and dragged her onto the plane. Chad asks who it was. Ava claims she can’t answer that question. Chad argues that she can but doesn’t want to. Chad brings up he and Tony talking to Ned Grainger and he was the one who told them where Abigail was. Chad adds that Kristen was there at the island so she didn’t knock Abigail out. Ava repeats that she can’t answer his question. Chad tells her that she will just have to answer to the police. Ava argues that she hasn’t committed a crime. Chad calls her an accessory to kidnapping. Ava claims to have nothing to do with it. Chad knows all about her past and says the crimes may seem meaningless to her but this is about his wife and the mother of his children, so he’s going to make damn sure that someone pays for what they did to her. Chad adds that Ava could walk out with a slap on the wrist if she just turns on her partner.

Gwen tells Xander that it was just a bad dream. Xander asks if she remembers what it was about this time since it’s been happening a lot recently. Xander asks if it would help to talk about it. Gwen claims it was about Dr. Snyder. Xander says he hasn’t thought about him for a minute and says no wonder she’s so rattled. Gwen calls it terrifying and claims that he had come back from the dead in her dream and that he told her Xander was just using her to get over Sarah. Xander hopes her subconscious didn’t come up with this dream because she doubts his feelings for her. Gwen doesn’t know why she had the dream but says it scared her half to death. Xander informs her that he dreamed last night that they were married with four kids. Xander admits he didn’t dream about it but he daydreams of it all the time. Xander reminds Gwen that they are getting married soon and that wouldn’t be happening if he didn’t adore her and want to spend the rest of his life with her. Gwen knows that his feelings for her are genuine and that he loves her. Gwen can’t wait to be his wife. Xander comments on her bad dreams and asks if she’s nervous about Abigail coming home. Gwen asks why she would be nervous about that. Xander tells Gwen to tell him.

Kayla knows it’s a lot to process as she tells Sarah that Chad is not her brother and she’s not a DiMera. Kayla says that her name is Sarah Horton and she can prove it. Sarah asks to be let out of the hospital. Kayla says she can’t because a lot of friends and family love and miss her. Kayla asks her to let them do these tests as she’s confident in a treatment plan for her. Kayla mentions that Abigail recovered from a very similar condition, so she can too. Steve says they want to help her any way they can. Sarah then decides that whatever is going on, she wants to know the truth about her life, so she tells Kayla to run the tests. Kayla thinks she’s making a wise decision and will go set them up. Steve decides to let Sarah rest and tells her to hang in there. Sarah thanks them as Kayla says she’ll be back. Kayla and Steve then exit the room.

Abigail reveals to Jack and Jennifer that Ava was under the Sarah mask. Jennifer questions why she would do that. Abigail says Ava claimed it was a prank but she knew it was more and then someone came up behind her and knocked her out. Abigail adds that Chad is with Ava now and he’s determined to find out who it was.

Ava questions Chad thinking she would just get to walk after giving him a name. Chad says the district attorney will want the big fish. Chad adds that his wife was the victim and his name has a lot of pull in town so he could convince Melinda to cut Ava a deal. Ava argues that he has no way of knowing that Melinda would say yes. Chad asks what her alternative is and why she would want to go down for someone else’s crime.

Steve finishes a call at the hospital, updating Brady on everyone being safe. Steve tells Kayla that he was waiting until Sarah’s test results to call Maggie, hoping that they can give her good news. Kayla says the tests are ready so she’s going to bring Sarah in.

Xander understands Gwen is still not on the best of terms with Abigail and that she was very upset when Abigail accused her of being Sarah. Gwen calls that quite hurtful. Xander assures that Abigail, Jack, and everyone else now knows it couldn’t have been Gwen since she was in the town square with Abigail and “Sarah”. Xander says it all worked out for the best since “Sarah” coming back gave him the closure that he needed and it reminded him that he’s finished with her. Xander tells Gwen that they belong together and there is nothing that will get in the way of them getting married as they kiss.

Steve and Kayla go to get Sarah but find that she is gone from her hospital room.

Anna questions Tony about Sarah being convinced that she is Renee. Tony says that she is acting like they are madly in love and she wants to pick up where they left off years ago. Tony adds that he tried to set her straight but she is stuck in this emotional delusion. Tony says Steve and Kayla took her to the hospital for tests, so hopefully they have gotten through to her by now. Tony declares that Sarah will just have to accept that Anna is the one and only love of his life. Tony and Anna kiss until Sarah walks in and tells Anna to get her hands off of her Tony.

Ava tells Chad that he makes a compelling pitch but she will take her chances because if the cops had anything on her, they’d already have arrested her. Ava says they will have to let her go soon but Chad says he wouldn’t count on that since she’s a witness and person of interest in a kidnapping. Ava remarks that she’s always a person of interest so she’s used to that. Chad tells her to enjoy her quiet time then but if she decides she doesn’t want to go to prison, she can give him a call. Chad then exits the room.

Gwen asks Xander why he goes by Cook and not Kiriakis. Xander blames his complicated family history. Gwen likes Cook. Xander says she doesn’t have to take his name but Gwen says it sounds perfect to her. They kiss until Gwen gets a text from Ava, telling her to answer her phone. Ava then calls her. Xander questions who is calling at this hour. Gwen claims that she can’t imagine and answers the phone. Ava tells Gwen that she needs to see her right now and orders her down to the police station.

Abigail says there’s no news from Chad yet. Jennifer says what’s important is that Abigail is safe and not hurt and everyone is fine. Jack is sure it was terrifying. Abigail is grateful to be back and thanks them for staying around to take care of her kids. They talk about how much they missed her. Abigail says now that she’s home, she guesses they can go back to Boston. Jack knows the Spectator is in good hands with her and they are proud of what a good writer and journalist she has become. Abigail says she has them to thank for being her role models and inspiring her. Abigail guesses she has her next big story; The Kidnapping of Sarah Horton. Abigail reveals to Jack and Jennifer that Sarah was there as Kristen had been holding her captive since her wedding last year which shocks Jack and Jennifer. Jack realizes Xander was right that Sarah was in trouble. Abigail says she accidentally stumbled onto the fact that it was Kristen masquerading as Sarah, who broke it off with Xander, not Sarah. Abigail calls it terribly sad since Sarah ended up being Kristen’s prisoner for months and didn’t even know where she was. Jack calls Kristen a sadistic maniac. Abigail adds that Kristen won’t pay for this crime like all the others because she got away. Jack asks about Sarah being alive and well. Abigail confirms that she’s alive but not so well.

Steve tells Kayla that he should’ve known that Sarah was playing them and never should’ve left her alone. Kayla says she had them both fooled. Steve feels she couldn’t have gotten too far. Kayla gets a call from the head of security, who says they caught Sarah on the security cameras, leaving the hospital. Steve guesses he knows where she went.

Sarah tells Anna again to step away from her Tony. Anna says she’s sorry but this is her Tony. Anna understands she is confused but they love each other. Sarah argues that Tony would have never looked at Anna if he knew she was alive. Sarah calls their marriage a sham. Anna asks what to do about this person. Tony tells her to try to keep her calm while he calls Kayla. Sarah tells him that he is not calling Kayla and she is not going to be calm. Sarah calls Anna a tramp and tells her to get the hell out of her family home. Anna says she’s trying to be patient because she understands Sarah is ill, but she’s not going anywhere as this is her home. Sarah points out that Stefano is not Anna’s father. Anna argues that he’s not her father either. Sarah speaks to the portrait of Stefano and orders Tony to tell Anna to hit the bricks. Anna says that’s enough and if anyone is going anywhere, it’s Sarah. Sarah says over her dead body. Anna warns that could be arranged as she goes after Sarah.

Gwen tells Ava that it’s a bit early. Ava says it’s not her fault that the cops hauled her down before she even had her morning coffee. Ava asks if Gwen is alone. Gwen says she’s not and asks what’s up. Ava says she’s being held for questioning in connection with the abduction of Abigail DiMera. Ava adds that Chad was just there grilling her about who she saw hit his wife over the head. Ava warns Gwen that if she’s not down there in ten minutes, her name is coming up in conversation as in “Gwen hit Abigail over the head”. Gwen tells Ava that she will be there as soon as she can and hangs up. Xander asks Gwen who that was. Gwen claims it was a wedding planner that she reached out to. Xander feels it’s a bit early for a call. Gwen says that’s the best thing about her and she will go see her because there was a cancellation. Xander offers to go with her but Gwen says she will just take the meeting and see how it goes. Gwen then gets out of bed, leaving Xander confused.

Abigail explains to Jack and Jennifer how Sarah is not in her right mind. Abigail calls it heart breaking and says she can relate. Abigail adds that it’s also really difficult for Tony because Sarah believes that she is Tony’s old flame, Renee DuMonde. Jack calls that strange. Abigail calls it complicated, especially because Sarah as Renee is madly in love with Tony.

Tony separates Anna and Sarah. Sarah tells Tony to keep Anna away from her. Anna asks if the world has gone mad. Tony says they need to work this out like adults. Sarah apologizes to Tony and agrees to calm down for his sake. Steve and Kayla arrive to find Sarah. Anna tells them that Sarah crashed in and attacked her. Anna asks them to take her back to the hospital where she belongs. Kayla offers to take Sarah back to the hospital but Sarah refuses. Anna asks if Kayla can do something about this. Kayla says she can’t force her because it’s a free country and she’s no longer in danger. Anna argues that Sarah almost attacked her before they got there. Sarah says that Anna attacked her, so she should be taken to the hospital. Sarah then leaves the room to go freshen up. Tony questions if there is nothing else they can do. Kayla says they could try to get a court order. Tony asks what to do until then. Kayla tells him to just keep Sarah safe. Steve says that’s until they figure something out. Kayla adds that they will also know where she is. Kayla tells them to call if they need anything. Anna argues that they didn’t do anything. Tony says he’ll be in touch. Steve and Kayla exit as Sarah comes back in to the room. Anna questions Tony letting Sarah stay here. Sarah argues that it’s her family home. Tony agrees to let her stay for now. Anna declares that she’s not going anywhere either because she and Tony are husband and wife. Sarah argues that they were but she will hire Tony the best lawyer in town to get him out of this nightmare of a marriage. Anna assures they are very happily married. Sarah warns that if Anna doesn’t leave, she will have her forcibly removed but Tony says no. Sarah tells Tony that Renee is going to take care of everything as she kisses him on the cheek. Sarah declares that it’s good to be home as she walks out of the room.

Chad goes to the Horton house where Jack greets him with a hug and says Abigail is waiting to hear from him. Jack tells Chad that they appreciate everything he and Tony did to bring Abigail home. Chad is just happy that she’s ok. Jack talks about what happened to Sarah and says he was just about to call Sarah to let him know what happened and that Sarah didn’t leave him voluntarily. Chad is sure that Xander will be happy to hear that. Jack is sure he will, but mentions that Xander is getting married. Chad is surprised and questions Xander getting married to Gwen.

Gwen goes to see Ava in the interrogation room. Gwen can’t believe that Ava made her come down here. Ava asks if she just wanted her to sit here and rot. Gwen reminds Ava that she’s not supposed to be seen with her. Ava says that is the least of her problems.

Xander gets a call from Jack, who informs him that Abigail just got back. Xander calls that wonderful news. Jack then reveals that Sarah was there too on the island with Abigail. Xander doesn’t understand. Jack reminds Xander of when he got a call from Susan Banks on his wedding day about how she saw Sarah going upstairs with Rex. Jack informs Xander that “Susan” was actually Kristen but she didn’t only impersonate Susan, she also impersonated Sarah. Xander is shocked as Jack reveals to Xander that the woman he saw in bed with Rex and the woman that broke up with him was Kristen in a Sarah mask. Jack says he’s sorry to tell him like this. Xander asks about when Sarah came back to Salem to visit Maggie and asks if that was Kristen too. Jack reveals that was actually Ava. Xander can’t believe it and calls it too insane to be true. Jack says he’s afraid it is, as Abigail confirmed it. Xander asks where Sarah is now. Jack informs him that they are taking her to the hospital. Xander declares that he has to go find her and see her. Jack says there is one more thing he needs to know but Xander hangs up and races out of his room.

Jennifer hugs Chad and says he is their hero for bringing Abigail home. Chad talks about how much the kids missed her too. Abigail thanks Jennifer for her and Jack being there again. Jennifer goes to check on Jack. Chad asks Abigail how she’s feeling and what he can do for her. Abigail says she’s too wound up to be tired and asks how it went with Ava. Chad says she stonewalled him, but he can tell she was panicked. Chad adds that they know Ava didn’t assault her, but given her track record, Melinda shouldn’t have a problem getting the charges to stick. They agree that the only way Ava can save herself is to name her accomplice.

Gwen questions if Ava is going to rat her out. Ava says despite her fair share of crimes, she’s managed to stay out of prison for most of her life, so she’s not getting locked up for this. Ava warns that if she does get arrested, the only way out may be to give them a name. Ava asks Gwen why she shouldn’t sacrifice her to save herself.

Jennifer asks Jack how Xander took the news. Jack says he was stunned but he will be even more stunned when he hears the whole story since he hung up before he could tell him. Jack adds that Xander wanted to go find her so he’s off to the hospital. Jack confirms that Xander doesn’t know the real Sarah didn’t reject him, but he doesn’t know that the real Sarah considers herself to be Renee DuMonde.

Tony tells Anna that he’s sorry that she has to go through this. Anna argues that Tony was playing along with Sarah’s delusions. Tony asks Anna to have a little compassion since Sarah is mentally ill and needs some kindness. Anna asks what if that drives his wife crazy.

Days of Our Lives Update

Update written by Joseph

Jennifer returns home and calls out to Jack, who joins her in the room. Jennifer starts quickly talking about publishing an article in the Spectator about Abigail’s disappearance until Jack is able to stop her to inform her that Chad and Tony have found Abigail. Jennifer is thrilled and hugs Jack, asking where Abigail is and if they are bringing her home. Jack confirms that Chad should be rescuing her as they speak.

After Chad finds Abigail, Tony then enters. Sarah rushes up and hugs Tony, saying she can’t believe he’s here, leaving Tony confused.

At the DiMera Mansion, Anna complains about spending Valentine’s Day alone and being unable to reach Tony and having no idea where he is or if he’s okay. Anna declares now she must stress eat so she opens her box of Valentines chocolates but finds all the chocolate covered cherries have been eaten. Anna wonders when Tony is coming home.

Tony questions Sarah calling him her love. Sarah that’s what he is and will always be. Chad is confused while Abigail thinks she can explain.

Kayla complains about Kristen telling her and Steve that she drugged their food. Steve asks what the point would be when she’s already holding them captive. Kristen clarifies that she didn’t give them a sedative but something a little bit stronger. Kristen declares it’s strong enough to permanently solve the problem they have been causing her. Kristen hopes they enjoyed their anniversary because it may be their last. Steve knew she was dangerous but questions her going to murder. Kristen says no one is going to die because she drugged them but not with poison. Kristen reveals it was a concotion that will make them forget this whole ordeal. Kristen adds that she can’t keep them on this island forever and she’s not interested in killing them, so it would really suck if they remembered this and could testify against her. Steve asks what the hell she’s talking about. Kristen states that the island chicken comes with a side of amnesia. Steve then charges Kristen.

Tony questions what has come over Sarah and tells her to stop kissing him because he’s a happily married man.

Anna tries calling Tony but it goes to voicemail. Anna decides she’s going to go get some answers and exits the mansion.

Xander and Gwen kiss in bed. Gwen says it’s time to eat so she gets out of bed. Xander jokes about her ditching him for room service. Xander gets up with her and they kiss back onto the bed. Gwen stops and says there is something serious she’d like to talk to him about. Xander asks what’s on her mind. Gwen says it’s their wedding as they have a few details to sort out, like when and where. Xander suggest St Luke’s church. Gwen questions them getting married in front of God and everyone. Xander jokes that his cousin Ciara married a serial killer there. Gwen suggests somewhere more personal to them. Xander asks if she means the Horton family home but Gwen says Julie wouldn’t go for that. Xander says they have to discuss the wedding party as he’s going to ask Jack to be his best man, so maybe Jennifer will stand up for Gwen. Gwen worries that Jennifer thinks she killed her mother so it would be in poor taste. Xander tells Gwen that her perfect maid of honor would be Ava Vitali. Gwen questions why he would suggest Ava. Xander brings up that she said they got close after Ava’s son died. Gwen claims she only offered her condolences because she knew Charlie in passing. Xander thought they formed a deeper connection, having both lost a child. Gwen says she just said a few kind words to her and that was all. Xander says it was just an idea. Gwen apologizes and assures that she will find someone, just not Ava or Jennifer. Xander asks if she read Jennifer’s article about Abigail. Gwen calls it heart wrenching. Xander can’t imagine how difficult it must be for Jack as well. Xander suggests they swing by and offer their support, so he can ask Jack to be his best man while they are there. Gwen thinks he should do that on his own because things are tense between her and Abigail, so she’s sure that she’s the last person they want to see. Xander encourages her not to be worried as Jack knows that she has no idea where Abigail is and it was clear how much it meant to Jack to be able to lean on her. Gwen thinks Xander asking Jack to be his best man is a moment that should be shared between them. Xander agrees to give Jack her love. They kiss and then Xander goes to get dressed.

Jennifer questions why Kristen would go after Abigail unless she was involved in Sarah’s disappearance. Jack asks who knows what Kristen is thinking or why she does what she does, but when Chad gets home with Abigail, he will have answers. Anna comes in and apologizes for barging in but says the door was open and she’s going out of her mind with worry about Tony, Abigail, and Chad since no one is returning her calls or texts. Jack and Jennifer tell Anna the good news that Tony and Chad are on their way to Abigail now. Anna calls that really great news and says they must be so relieved. Anna asks where Abigail is. Jack reveals that Kristen has been holding her hostage on an island off the coast. Anna says she’s very happy for them but she knows that island. Anna stops and says she won’t rain on their parade but Jennifer wants to know what she’s thinking. Anna reveals that she knows Tony spent an extended holiday on that island with his ex-lover Renee DuMonde.

Sarah tells Tony that she should’ve known Tony’s wife was the reason that he’s being so cold to her. Sarah talks about her being a thorn in her side since they started dating, which they only did because they thought they were siblings. Sarah tells Tony that he will never get over her. Tony asks God to help him. Abigail then explains that Sarah thinks she is Renee DuMonde.

Steve manages to tie Kristen up while Kayla holds the gun on her. Kristen warns them to enjoy their victory while they can remember it, because they won’t when the drugs kick in. Steve asks how much of that crap she put in their food. Kristen says it was enough to obliterate the memories of a herd of elephants. Steve still thinks she’s bluffing but Kristen assures that she’s not. Kristen suggests they use this time to reflect on their memories with their children and each other, because soon their epic love story will permanently fade to black.

Tony questions how it’s possible that Sarah Horton thinks she’s Renee DuMonde. Sarah complains about Tony talking about this Sarah nonsense like the others. Sarah declares she’s been stuck on this island for long enough and is ready to go back to Salem. Chad says they will be right down. Sarah says that gives her and Tony a moment to be alone. Sarah and Tony then exit the room.

Jack and Jennifer talk to Anna about Tony getting Ned to come clean. Anna talks about Tony being devoted to Chad and doing anything for him. Jennifer acknowledges that he went above and beyond this time. Jack realizes he needs to let Gwen know that Abigail is coming home since Gwen has been so worried. Anna asks how Gwen is doing. Jack says she’s doing very well and getting married. Anna laughs and says that surprises her. Jack asks why. Anna says she doesn’t want to be insensitive since Gwen is Jack’s daughter, but she has created a world of problems since coming to Salem so she’s just wondering who would have the tolerance to put up with her tendency to lie and be vindictive. Anna questions what man would have the patience to share his life with a woman like Gwen. Xander arrives and reveals that man would be him.

Ava shows up at Gwen’s door. Gwen pulls her inside and questions what she’s doing here. Ava responds that they have a problem.

Abigail informs Chad that Kristen injected Sarah with the same drug that Gwen used in Abigail’s champagne. Abigail feels awful because she knows the damage that drug can do and now Sarah thinks she’s an entirely different person. Chad questions how the drug gave Sarah his dead sister’s memories. Abigail explains that came from Renee’s diary.

Sarah tells Tony that they can’t leave as they have to eat first. Tony says they can eat on the plane. Sarah argues that Kristen cooked up a feast for tonight so it would be an insult not to stay and enjoy it. Tony is sure she’ll understand. Sarah demands that no one is going anywhere until they all sit down together and have a meal and she won’t take no for an answer.

Kayla tells Steve that they need to find the others before their memories fade as if they tell Sarah and Abigail, they can alert the hospital so the staff can help them out as soon as they get home. Kristen wishes them luck with that because she drugged Sarah and Abigail too. Kristen reveals that all of her guests are having her very special island chicken tonight, so by morning, none of them will remember how to tie their own shoes.

Abigail explains to Chad that when Sarah first got there, she was just like Abigail was after Gwen drugged her, so to keep her calm and occupied, Kristen gave her a bunch of books to read including Renee’s diary and she became so obsessed with the story that she started to think the stories were hers. Chad says the good news is that they found Abigail so they can head back to Salem to get Sarah the help she needs. Abigail asks Chad how he found her. Chad informs her that Ned Grainger told them where she was since an eye witness confirmed he flew to the airfield the night she disappeared. Chad adds that there was no flight plan or security footage but Tony knew Ned a little bit, so they tracked him down in Florida and Tony convinced him to tell them where she was. Chad states that now they know Kristen put Ned up to kidnapping her and flying her out here. Abigail then reveals it wasn’t Kristen, it was Ava.

Gwen questions Ava showing up when Xander could have seen her. Ava tells her to relax as she saw Xander leave and waited a bit. Gwen asks why she’s there. Ava repeats that they have a problem and brings up Jennifer’s article. Ava worries about Jack and Jennifer being back and making a big stink about their daughter. Gwen tells her to calm down. Ava says that’s easy for her to say since Abigail didn’t see her wearing the Sarah mask. Gwen says that’s not necessarily a problem. Ava questions what she thinks is going to happen if Chad and Tony bring Abigail and Sarah back to Salem.

Jack tries to cover what Anna said towards Xander but Anna tells him not to apologize for her because she meant what she said. Anna wishes she didn’t feel that way because she cares about Jack and realizes that he has tender feelings for Gwen, but she doesn’t. Jennifer suggests staying off the subject of Gwen. Xander disagrees and says that Gwen was deeply unhappy and very angry when she came to Salem which led to her behaving badly, but she has changed. Xander adds that Gwen feels deep regret for the hurt she caused her family and she’s terribly sorry for how she behaved. Anna questions if he’s sure. Anna says she is sorry for everybody who now trusts Gwen, when she was hired as a nanny and then slept with Chad just to ruin Abigail’s life. Anna brings up what Gwen tried to do Jack and Jennifer’s marriage out of spite. Jennifer says she’s gotten past that. Anna remarks that she would never be able to get past the fact that someone took a wrecking ball to her life like that. Anna acknowledges that people can change but in the case of Gwen, she suggests Xander be careful because you never know what a woman like that could still be hiding.

Tony and Sarah sit down at the dinner table. Sarah reminds him to wait until everyone is there before eating. Sarah wonders what’s keeping Abigail and Chad.

Chad questions Ava being the one in the Sarah mask. Abigail knows it makes no sense. Chad wonders if Ava was doing it to help a friend since she and Kristen were close at one point. Abigail questions close enough for multiple felonies. Abigail goes over ripping off the mask and then getting hit from behind, so the only one that she knows was there was Ava. Abigail suggests asking Steve and Kayla if they have any other insights so they should probably go find them. Chad questions that. Abigail explains that Kristen kidnapped them in Italy and brought them here, so her and Chad hurry out of the room to go find them.

Jennifer suggests a more neutral subject. Anna says that’s fine as she’s had her say about Gwen. Jack mentions that Anna has already heard the news, so he wanted to inform Xander that Abigail is coming home. Xander calls that tremendous news and says that’s why he came over, because he and Gwen read Jennifer’s article and wanted to express their support. Anna questions where Gwen is then. Xander responds that Gwen encouraged him to come without her, given the still strained relationship between her and Abigail. Anna says it will be a wonderful relief when Abigail, Chad, and Tony all come back safely to Salem. Xander agrees and knows Gwen feels the same.

Gwen tells Ava to stop because her speculation is not helpful. Ava warns that she should be nervous because if Abigail and Sarah get back here, both of their lives will go up in smoke. Gwen argues that Kristen promised not to let that happen. Ava questions believing Kristen will keep her promise. Gwen argues that Kristen is Ava’s friend. Ava points out that Kristen blackmailed them in to helping her escape, so if her back is against the wall, she won’t think twice about selling them out. Ava adds that if that happens, then Gwen can say goodbye to her boyfriend and her dad and hello to prison.

Kayla says they are going to find Abigail and Sarah. Kristen warns them to hope they still remember them. Kristen guesses this is goodbye. Kayla tells her that she is going back to Salem to pay for everything she’s done. Kayla assures she will see them again. Kristen says by then, she won’t have a clue who she is or why she’s about to kill them. Kristen laughs as Steve and Kayla exit the room.

Chad and Abigail join Tony and Sarah in the living room. Chad says they need to find Steve and Kayla. Abigail asks if Sarah knows where they are. Sarah responds that she might have an idea or two. Abigail asks her to take them to Steve and Kayla but Sarah says no because she doesn’t trust Steve after he threatened Kristen. Abigail explains that Steve is her uncle and a wonderful man, so she asks Sarah to take them to he and Kayla. Sarah says she will right after they eat. Abigail insists they need to go now. Sarah warns her that if she wants to see Steve and Kayla, she will pull up a chair and join them. Abigail and Chad then sit at the table. Chad asks if Abigail had any problems with the food on the island. Abigail says it’s been fine so far. Sarah calls it the best chicken they will have in their life and then she promises to take them to Steve and Kayla. Sarah questions what could be the harm in all of them having a nice family dinner together.

Gwen reveals to Ava that she and Xander got engaged. Ava congratulates her. Ava apologizes for getting a little worked up before but the article threw her. Ava tells Gwen that she is happy for her and adds that her son is proposing to his girlfriend tonight. Gwen comments that there must be something in the water. Ava doesn’t think so since no one is asking for her hand. Ava declares that everybody is getting their happily ever after except her. Ava then asks who needs love when you got revenge to keep you warm. Gwen states that revenge does not solve anything and only makes you feel worse. Gwen encourages Ava to find another way. Ava says she tried and stopped being so paranoid but that just got her a boyfriend who cheated on her with her best friend. Gwen agrees that’s awful. Ava says it’s her problem and congratulates Gwen and Xander on having a long and happy life together. Ava then exits.

Anna says they are thrilled that Abigail, Chad, and Tony will soon be home and safe in Salem. Anna decides to get going. Anna urges Xander to heed her warning about Gwen. Xander urges Anna to keep an open mind about Gwen, noting that Gwen speaks highly about her. Xander says that Gwen believes people can change and is confident that one day Anna will change her mind about her or become her friend. Anna calls it unlikely but supposes stranger things have happened. Anna says she will see them all soon. Anna congratulates Jack and Jennifer on the wonderful news as she then exits. Jack admits that Anna can be outspoken. Xander then asks Jack to be his best man when he marries Gwen. Jack gladly accepts as they hug. Xander jokes that he will soon be Jack’s son in law.

Abigail, Chad, Tony, and Sarah eat their dinner. Abigail says the sooner they finish, the sooner Sarah will take them to Steve and Kayla. Steve and Kayla then burst in, screaming for them not to eat the chicken. Kayla worries that it’s too late. Chad questions what she means. Steve and Kayla warn them of being poisoned. Chad complains that he ate half the chicken. Sarah stops them all and declares no one has been poisoned. Kayla says that Kristen told them that she drugged the food. Sarah reveals that she switched it out as she found a bottle of this cloudy liquid with a feather next to it in the kitchen when Kristen was cooking. Sarah remembered Kristen telling her that the serial killer that was after her used a Raven’s feather. Sarah announces that she emptied the bottle out and filled it back up with milk. Abigail realizes then they are not in danger.

Jack brings Jennifer roses and reminds her that it’s Valentine’s Day. Jennifer can’t believe Jack even found time to shop. Jack talks about when they met and says Jennifer turned his life upside down and taught him about faith. Jack informs her that he took an hour from worrying about their daughter, to make sure Jennifer had a Valentine’s Day to remember. Jack says that faith assured him that Abigail would be coming home, just like how he will always come home to her. Jennifer tells Jack that she loves him forever and wishes him a Happy Valentine’s Day as they kiss.

Chad questions what they are doing as Abigail goes back to get Renee’s diary. Abigail hopes that Sarah will be okay. Chad encourages that they will get Sarah the help she needs back in Salem. Chad adds how impressed he is that Abigail knew it wasn’t Sarah back in Salem and he still can’t believe it was Ava. Chad declares that as soon as they get home, Ava is going down and so is her accomplice.

Xander returns to his room to Gwen. Gwen asks how it went. Xander calls it interesting since Anna was there but he has good news. Xander announces that Jack agreed to be his best man which Gwen calls wonderful. Xander then adds that it looks like Abigail will be home in time for their wedding which Gwen questions. Xander reveals they found Abigail and she’s coming home.

Sarah tells Tony how happy she is that they are finally together. Sarah can’t wait to get back to Salem so Tony can get divorced and kick Anna to the curb.

Kayla tells Steve that she can’t wait to see Kristen’s face when she finds out her plan was ruined. They go back to where they left Kristen tied up, but find that Kristen is gone.

Adam asked if that meant Nick was ready to team up with Victor in calling Ashland out. Nick didn’t know what he was going to do, but if Victoria was in trouble, he couldn’t walk away. Adam said it was too bad Nick wasn’t here earlier to help him stall Victoria. Adam tried, but he was Victoria’s least favorite person, and she left early on. A suspicious Nick asked Adam how hard he tried. “Things could be blowing up with Dad and Victoria right now. I don’t think you’d have a problem with that,” Nick said.

Adam said there was no part of him that was enjoying this situation. “You and Vick aren’t close. You don’t support each other,” Nick stated. Adam pointed out that he did a lot to support Victoria at the wedding. Nick countered that Adam did that for Victor, not Victoria. Adam said, regardless of his motives, he did a hell of a lot more than Nick, who didn’t even go to the ceremony. Nick explained he told Victoria who Ashland really was, and she asked him to stay away from the wedding. “Neither you nor I wanted this guy to be part of the family,” Adam replied. After Victor welcomed Ashland with open arms, knowing what he was capable of, Adam decided to trust Victor’s judgment and keep his mouth shut. Nick thought Adam had been filled with resentment ever since, especially after Victor sold Newman Media to Victoria and Ashland. Adam thought Ashland was a backstabbing SOB, and he was glad he wouldn’t have to answer to Ashland anymore, assuming Victor’s plan worked. However, that wasn’t the same as celebrating Victoria’s broken heart. Adam said he wasn’t that vindictive or small. He suggested Nick was projecting his own feelings about the situation. Nick had predicted Ashland would do something terrible, but he wasn’t happy to be right about it. He said Victoria had been through more betrayals than anyone he’d ever met, and she’d be crushed when she found out Ashland had been playing her for a fool.

Nick suspected Adam knew what Victor’s plan was. Adam understood why Nick would think that, given what happened in Tuscany, but Adam really didn’t know. Nick believed him. Adam speculated that Victor was going to try and get Ashland to confess and turn himself in to the police. Nick said faking cancer wasn’t a crime. Adam thought Ashland committed fraud when he used the fake illness to trick Victoria into marrying him. Nick said it was grounds for annulment, but he wasn’t sure it was a crime. He thought that it would be hard for Victoria to get Ashland out of her life, since he owned half of Newman Locke.

Adam thought it was ironic that Victoria got all this praise for making the merger of the decade, when she was actually falling into a trap and taking the whole family down with her. “If I find out you’re using this to your advantage…” Nick warned. Adam said none of this was his fault. He told Nick to go find Locke if he wanted to punish someone. Adam contended that Nick wouldn’t confront Locke, because he wanted to stay neutral. He told Nick to stop trying to be the good guy when he didn’t have skin in the game. Nick wasn’t neutral; he was pissed, but he was staying out of it because he didn’t know what Victor’s plan was. He would be there for Victoria if she needed him. Adam thought Victoria would need more than a shoulder to cry on. Nick said he saw this coming fifty miles away, and he tried telling everyone, but nobody would listen. He said he could tell Victoria that she made her bed, or he could let Ashland get away with all this. Neither option would be easy for Nick. “You always pretend to be above it all, bu the truth is when the chips are down and someone comes after one of the Newmans, you’re gonna get pulled back in just like the rest of us,” Adam said.

Sally visited Adam after Nick left. She saw Nick and Victor leaving earlier, and she asked if this family drama was none of her business or something that could affect Newman Media. He told her that Ashland and Victoria’s marriage was likely about to implode. Sally hoped that was a horrible joke and that the relationship wasn’t already over after that incredible wedding. Adam said things weren’t always as they appeared, especially when it came to Locke. Sally said she’d never forgive Locke if he was cheating on Victoria. Adam didn’t realize Sally was so invested in this relationship. Sally wouldn’t put it that way, but she felt for Victoria, whose wedding made international news, partially because of the dress Sally designed. Sally said Victoria would be heartbroken and humiliated. Sally knew Victoria and Adam weren’t close siblings, but Sally thought that he had to be somewhat sympathetic to his sister. Adam said of course he felt bad. Not long ago, he got his heart broken by someone he loved and trusted, and he wouldn’t wish that on his worst enemy. Sally asked why Adam was so calm. He said that Victoria was a survivor, just like the rest of the Newmans, and the family would rally around her. Sally assumed Victor was disappointed because he was counting on Victoria and Ashland to run his empire. If Ashland got kicked to the curb, Victoria would be distracted and question her decisions; she could lose focus and Newman Locke could suffer. Sally and Adam exchanged a look as they thought about the future of Newman Locke. She asked who’d be in charge if this happened. “Ten billion dollar question,” he replied.

Victoria knocked on her office door and called out to Ashland. Inside the locked office, Victor asked Ashland if they had a deal. Nikki walked up hoping to fill Victoria in on the marketing meeting. Nikki learned Victoria was locked out and her key was inside. Nikki went to get her key. Back in the office, Victor said he had proof that Ashland lied about his illness. Ashland countered that Victor only had theory. Victor said he could show Victoria the proof, but he’d rather not upset her unnecessarily. Victor said that if Ashland loved Victoria at all, he’d tell her his cancer was back, return to Peru and then cut ties with her as painlessly as possible. “If you don’t follow my terms you will suffer the consequences of your deception,” Victor warned. Victoria got into the office, thanks to Nikki, and asked what the hell was going on.

Ashland lied and said he must’ve accidentally locked the door when he came in. Victoria asked Victor what he was doing there when he said he wanted to meet in Adam’s office. Ashland said that was his fault too. He stated that Victor reached out and wanted to talk to him privately about the plan to make Ashland c-CEO of Newman Locke. “Apparently Nikki was right, and your father has reservations,” Ashland said. Victor asked Nikki when she found out about this. Nikki said she found out today, and told Victoria to discuss it with Victor. Victoria wanted to know how Victor found out. He didn’t think that was important. She asked why he wanted to talk to Ashland alone. He assured her that he and Ashland had a productive conversation.

Victoria made it clear that she and Ashland were a team. Ashland assured Victoria that he and Victor both wanted what was best for her and Newman Locke. Victoria asked what issue Victor had with Ashland becoming co-CEO of the company that bore his name. Victor pretended he was concerned about Ashland’s health. Victoria said Ashland cleared this with is doctor. She stated that Ashland was like her and Victor – he was fueled by his work. She’d seen that Ashland was getting stronger, and she thought it would be good for the company if he took a larger role. Nikki sided with Victor. Victoria said that if Ashland’s condition worsened, he could take a step back. Victoria saw no reason to deny Ashland the tile he deserved. She was prepared to sign the papers right now. She grabbed the contract, and Ashland looked back at Victor and smiled. Nikki thought they should at least wait a day or two. Ashland was amenable to that. Victoria was determined to sign the papers today. She said it was her decision and it was the right thing to do.

Victoria signed the contract, while Nikki shot an alarmed look at Victor. Ashland suddenly doubled over while breathing heavily. Ashland said he was okay, he just needed to go outside for air. Nikki was very concerned as she watched Victoria hustle Ashland out of the office. Victor told the worried Nikki that what she’d just witnessed was all an act. “He did exactly what I asked him to do.” Victor told Nikki about the ultimatum he gave Ashland. She asked if Ashland admitted to the lie. He thought it was telling that Ashland backed off from signing the document. Victor contended that Ashland was a monster. She was concerned Ashland was really sick. She said that Ashland might be telling Victoria everything right now, and Victoria would side with him and be furious with Victor. At that moment, Victoria returned, saying Ashland insisted on being alone.

Victoria told Victor that what he’d done to Ashland was unacceptable. “You upset and you insulted my husband. Acting like we’re doing him some favor by allowing him to help us run this company that he half owns!,” she snapped. She stated that Ashland was a brilliant businessman who was feared and respected by top corporate leaders. She asked why she’d keep an asset like that on a sideline. Victor saw no issue with Ashland advising Victoria sometimes, but he saw no reason to give Ashland all this authority. Victoria said it was frustrating for Ashland to work this way. Victor said that Ashland may have had a relapse. Victoria thought that Ashland just had a reaction to the pressure Victor put on him. She didn’t believe Victor was objecting because of Ashland’s health. Victoria thought that Victor just wanted to be in control, and he couldn’t stand the fact that she was making decisions. She asked why he couldn’t learn to trust her judgment. She stated that she deserved to be in the place, and she wanted him to let her do her job at her company as she saw fit.

Victoria stormed out of the office and ran into Nick in the hallway. She asked what he was doing here, and he said he came to check on her. She didn’t believe he just happened to be in the neighborhood. “You’re here because you knew exactly what Dad was up to,” she said. She asked if the whole family had been discussing this behind her back. Victoria wondered how old she had to be and what she needed to do do live her life without constant interference from their father. Nick thought Victoria should get out of the business – the closer you are to the fire, the more you were burned. Victoria said that Victor had been going behind her back and spying on her, and she thought Nick came because he knew what Victor was up to. Nick clarified that he had nothing to do with it and only found out a little while ago. Victoria made it clear that Nick had better not be lying to her. He said he was telling the truth. He learned awhile ago not to get involved in her life. “I didn’t even know Dad was gonna tell you about it,” he said. Victoria realized she and Nick were talking about different things. “Wait a minute. Tell me what?,” she asked.

Ashland was on the phone at Society. “You need to find everyone who’s talking to Michael Baldwin and put an end to it. Immediately and forever. Do we understand each other?” he said.

Devon dropped by the Chancellor Mansion, and Abby told him that if he was there to see Dom, his timing couldn’t be better, because the baby was fresh out of the bath. Devon wondered why Dom was bathed in the middle of the day, and Abby explained that he’d had sweet potatoes and peas for the first time. Devon was happy to hear Abby had pictures of the event. She was glad Dom’s appetite was back. Devon wanted Dom to come to his place for a couple days if that was okay with Abby and Chance. Abby said the baby was still in recovery, and they had to be careful. Devon said he would be. Abby wasn’t implying otherwise. Chance came home from his walk, and Abby filled him in. it was hard for Abby to imagine Dom not being here; she still woke up a couple times a night to check on him. Devon understood – he kept waking up at night worrying about Dom. Chance thought this wasn’t such a bad idea. He reminded Abby that he’d been a little worried, given what was happening later. He told Devon that he had his first therapy session today. Chance thought he may have still been avoiding all this if it weren’t for Devon’s encouragement. Chance told a curious Abby that Devon helped him realize he couldn’t do this alone. Chance was concerned he’d be a bit “off” after the session, and he didn’t want Dominic to see him like that. Abby said Chance was right, and she apologized for hesitating earlier. Devon told Abby she didn’t ever have to apologize to him. She went to pack Dominic’s stuff.

Devon appreciated Chance helping Abby be cool with this. Chance felt lucky to have a friend like Devon. He reiterated that hearing Devon open up about his struggles helped him. Devon said that it took a strong person to do what Chance did, and this would help his whole family. Devon said therapy wasn’t like flipping a light switch, but he had no doubt Chance would make it to the other side. Later, Devon left with the baby. Abby wondered if it would get easier to watch Dom leave. Chance said Abby would get used to it, and by the time Dom went off to the first day of school, she’d be a tough mom who didn’t cry at all. She didn’t even want to think about that. She said Dom would have a great time with Devon, and she could give Chance her undivided attention when he got home from therapy. She wanted to ride with him, and go shopping while he was in therapy. He promised he’d be fine. He wasn’t even sure he’d click with this doctor. She told him there was no pressure today, and it would all be okay, because she’d be here waiting for him when she got home. He found that comforting. They kissed.

Devon took Dominic to the penthouse and told him he’d always have a home here, even when he was an adult with a family of his own. Devon played a song on the piano for Dom.

Chance met with Dr. Huffman, who was ex-military like Chance. Chance asked if he saw action. Dr. Huffman saw things he couldn’t forget. He asked how Chance found his way here. Chance explained that Sharon Rosales was a close family friend, and she thought Chance would be more comfortable with someone who served. Chance wasn’t comfortable at all though. Dr. Huffman didn’t think anyone was at ease on their first day. He asked why Chance was here. “I just want to be me,” Chance replied. Chance opened up about his marriage – Abby was great and supportive. He said he had one child so far. He explained the circumstances surrounding Dominic’s conception; how Chance needed a donor because of an infection he got after he was shot while working as a police detective. Dr. Huffman learned that Dom was carried by a surrogate and that Chance missed the whole pregnancy. Chance said he missed a lot, and Abby said he’d catch up, but… He explained that they were now sharing custody with the donor, a close friend. Dr. Huffman asked if the custody change was difficult for Chance. It wasn’t for Chance, but it was for Abby. Chance saw that Devon adored Dom. Chance was still waiting to connect with Dom and feel like Dom was his son. “You know the way that I would feel if I was the man I was before I went on that mission,” Chance said. Dr. Huffman thought Chance needed to talk about what happened in Spain.

Dr. Huffman asked what happened in Spain. Chance said his team’s cover was blown, but they had no warning. He was bringing groceries into the safe house when all hell broke loose. It was like the earth was ripped in half. He was blown back and he was pretty out of it. When the smoek cleared, the whole building was gone. He looked for his team and didn’t find anyone. He saw some men slowly walking through the site. They were looking for survivors to finish them off. Chance buried himself in rubble and played dead. When everyone heard the sirens, the men took off, and Chance did the same. Some former medic friends of his patched him up. His family was told he was dead. Abby didn’t believe him and went looking for him. His family kept saying he was lucky and a hero. It didn’t sit well with him. Chance replayed that day in Spain every day. He said there were certain triggers like smells, or the sky being a certain shade of blue that brought him back to that day. He dreamed about it too. Usually, he just saw faces of his team. Chance felt like he was being punished for failing his team.

Chance went home. Abby wanted to know what happened at the meeting, then she said it was none of her business. He said he was exhausted, and there was a lot of work to do. She knew he had a lot of broken pieces that needed to be put back together, but she loved him always and they’d get through it together. She was proud of him.
