Update written by Joseph

Jennifer returns home and calls out to Jack, who joins her in the room. Jennifer starts quickly talking about publishing an article in the Spectator about Abigail’s disappearance until Jack is able to stop her to inform her that Chad and Tony have found Abigail. Jennifer is thrilled and hugs Jack, asking where Abigail is and if they are bringing her home. Jack confirms that Chad should be rescuing her as they speak.

After Chad finds Abigail, Tony then enters. Sarah rushes up and hugs Tony, saying she can’t believe he’s here, leaving Tony confused.

At the DiMera Mansion, Anna complains about spending Valentine’s Day alone and being unable to reach Tony and having no idea where he is or if he’s okay. Anna declares now she must stress eat so she opens her box of Valentines chocolates but finds all the chocolate covered cherries have been eaten. Anna wonders when Tony is coming home.

Tony questions Sarah calling him her love. Sarah that’s what he is and will always be. Chad is confused while Abigail thinks she can explain.

Kayla complains about Kristen telling her and Steve that she drugged their food. Steve asks what the point would be when she’s already holding them captive. Kristen clarifies that she didn’t give them a sedative but something a little bit stronger. Kristen declares it’s strong enough to permanently solve the problem they have been causing her. Kristen hopes they enjoyed their anniversary because it may be their last. Steve knew she was dangerous but questions her going to murder. Kristen says no one is going to die because she drugged them but not with poison. Kristen reveals it was a concotion that will make them forget this whole ordeal. Kristen adds that she can’t keep them on this island forever and she’s not interested in killing them, so it would really suck if they remembered this and could testify against her. Steve asks what the hell she’s talking about. Kristen states that the island chicken comes with a side of amnesia. Steve then charges Kristen.

Tony questions what has come over Sarah and tells her to stop kissing him because he’s a happily married man.

Anna tries calling Tony but it goes to voicemail. Anna decides she’s going to go get some answers and exits the mansion.

Xander and Gwen kiss in bed. Gwen says it’s time to eat so she gets out of bed. Xander jokes about her ditching him for room service. Xander gets up with her and they kiss back onto the bed. Gwen stops and says there is something serious she’d like to talk to him about. Xander asks what’s on her mind. Gwen says it’s their wedding as they have a few details to sort out, like when and where. Xander suggest St Luke’s church. Gwen questions them getting married in front of God and everyone. Xander jokes that his cousin Ciara married a serial killer there. Gwen suggests somewhere more personal to them. Xander asks if she means the Horton family home but Gwen says Julie wouldn’t go for that. Xander says they have to discuss the wedding party as he’s going to ask Jack to be his best man, so maybe Jennifer will stand up for Gwen. Gwen worries that Jennifer thinks she killed her mother so it would be in poor taste. Xander tells Gwen that her perfect maid of honor would be Ava Vitali. Gwen questions why he would suggest Ava. Xander brings up that she said they got close after Ava’s son died. Gwen claims she only offered her condolences because she knew Charlie in passing. Xander thought they formed a deeper connection, having both lost a child. Gwen says she just said a few kind words to her and that was all. Xander says it was just an idea. Gwen apologizes and assures that she will find someone, just not Ava or Jennifer. Xander asks if she read Jennifer’s article about Abigail. Gwen calls it heart wrenching. Xander can’t imagine how difficult it must be for Jack as well. Xander suggests they swing by and offer their support, so he can ask Jack to be his best man while they are there. Gwen thinks he should do that on his own because things are tense between her and Abigail, so she’s sure that she’s the last person they want to see. Xander encourages her not to be worried as Jack knows that she has no idea where Abigail is and it was clear how much it meant to Jack to be able to lean on her. Gwen thinks Xander asking Jack to be his best man is a moment that should be shared between them. Xander agrees to give Jack her love. They kiss and then Xander goes to get dressed.

Jennifer questions why Kristen would go after Abigail unless she was involved in Sarah’s disappearance. Jack asks who knows what Kristen is thinking or why she does what she does, but when Chad gets home with Abigail, he will have answers. Anna comes in and apologizes for barging in but says the door was open and she’s going out of her mind with worry about Tony, Abigail, and Chad since no one is returning her calls or texts. Jack and Jennifer tell Anna the good news that Tony and Chad are on their way to Abigail now. Anna calls that really great news and says they must be so relieved. Anna asks where Abigail is. Jack reveals that Kristen has been holding her hostage on an island off the coast. Anna says she’s very happy for them but she knows that island. Anna stops and says she won’t rain on their parade but Jennifer wants to know what she’s thinking. Anna reveals that she knows Tony spent an extended holiday on that island with his ex-lover Renee DuMonde.

Sarah tells Tony that she should’ve known Tony’s wife was the reason that he’s being so cold to her. Sarah talks about her being a thorn in her side since they started dating, which they only did because they thought they were siblings. Sarah tells Tony that he will never get over her. Tony asks God to help him. Abigail then explains that Sarah thinks she is Renee DuMonde.

Steve manages to tie Kristen up while Kayla holds the gun on her. Kristen warns them to enjoy their victory while they can remember it, because they won’t when the drugs kick in. Steve asks how much of that crap she put in their food. Kristen says it was enough to obliterate the memories of a herd of elephants. Steve still thinks she’s bluffing but Kristen assures that she’s not. Kristen suggests they use this time to reflect on their memories with their children and each other, because soon their epic love story will permanently fade to black.

Tony questions how it’s possible that Sarah Horton thinks she’s Renee DuMonde. Sarah complains about Tony talking about this Sarah nonsense like the others. Sarah declares she’s been stuck on this island for long enough and is ready to go back to Salem. Chad says they will be right down. Sarah says that gives her and Tony a moment to be alone. Sarah and Tony then exit the room.

Jack and Jennifer talk to Anna about Tony getting Ned to come clean. Anna talks about Tony being devoted to Chad and doing anything for him. Jennifer acknowledges that he went above and beyond this time. Jack realizes he needs to let Gwen know that Abigail is coming home since Gwen has been so worried. Anna asks how Gwen is doing. Jack says she’s doing very well and getting married. Anna laughs and says that surprises her. Jack asks why. Anna says she doesn’t want to be insensitive since Gwen is Jack’s daughter, but she has created a world of problems since coming to Salem so she’s just wondering who would have the tolerance to put up with her tendency to lie and be vindictive. Anna questions what man would have the patience to share his life with a woman like Gwen. Xander arrives and reveals that man would be him.

Ava shows up at Gwen’s door. Gwen pulls her inside and questions what she’s doing here. Ava responds that they have a problem.

Abigail informs Chad that Kristen injected Sarah with the same drug that Gwen used in Abigail’s champagne. Abigail feels awful because she knows the damage that drug can do and now Sarah thinks she’s an entirely different person. Chad questions how the drug gave Sarah his dead sister’s memories. Abigail explains that came from Renee’s diary.

Sarah tells Tony that they can’t leave as they have to eat first. Tony says they can eat on the plane. Sarah argues that Kristen cooked up a feast for tonight so it would be an insult not to stay and enjoy it. Tony is sure she’ll understand. Sarah demands that no one is going anywhere until they all sit down together and have a meal and she won’t take no for an answer.

Kayla tells Steve that they need to find the others before their memories fade as if they tell Sarah and Abigail, they can alert the hospital so the staff can help them out as soon as they get home. Kristen wishes them luck with that because she drugged Sarah and Abigail too. Kristen reveals that all of her guests are having her very special island chicken tonight, so by morning, none of them will remember how to tie their own shoes.

Abigail explains to Chad that when Sarah first got there, she was just like Abigail was after Gwen drugged her, so to keep her calm and occupied, Kristen gave her a bunch of books to read including Renee’s diary and she became so obsessed with the story that she started to think the stories were hers. Chad says the good news is that they found Abigail so they can head back to Salem to get Sarah the help she needs. Abigail asks Chad how he found her. Chad informs her that Ned Grainger told them where she was since an eye witness confirmed he flew to the airfield the night she disappeared. Chad adds that there was no flight plan or security footage but Tony knew Ned a little bit, so they tracked him down in Florida and Tony convinced him to tell them where she was. Chad states that now they know Kristen put Ned up to kidnapping her and flying her out here. Abigail then reveals it wasn’t Kristen, it was Ava.

Gwen questions Ava showing up when Xander could have seen her. Ava tells her to relax as she saw Xander leave and waited a bit. Gwen asks why she’s there. Ava repeats that they have a problem and brings up Jennifer’s article. Ava worries about Jack and Jennifer being back and making a big stink about their daughter. Gwen tells her to calm down. Ava says that’s easy for her to say since Abigail didn’t see her wearing the Sarah mask. Gwen says that’s not necessarily a problem. Ava questions what she thinks is going to happen if Chad and Tony bring Abigail and Sarah back to Salem.

Jack tries to cover what Anna said towards Xander but Anna tells him not to apologize for her because she meant what she said. Anna wishes she didn’t feel that way because she cares about Jack and realizes that he has tender feelings for Gwen, but she doesn’t. Jennifer suggests staying off the subject of Gwen. Xander disagrees and says that Gwen was deeply unhappy and very angry when she came to Salem which led to her behaving badly, but she has changed. Xander adds that Gwen feels deep regret for the hurt she caused her family and she’s terribly sorry for how she behaved. Anna questions if he’s sure. Anna says she is sorry for everybody who now trusts Gwen, when she was hired as a nanny and then slept with Chad just to ruin Abigail’s life. Anna brings up what Gwen tried to do Jack and Jennifer’s marriage out of spite. Jennifer says she’s gotten past that. Anna remarks that she would never be able to get past the fact that someone took a wrecking ball to her life like that. Anna acknowledges that people can change but in the case of Gwen, she suggests Xander be careful because you never know what a woman like that could still be hiding.

Tony and Sarah sit down at the dinner table. Sarah reminds him to wait until everyone is there before eating. Sarah wonders what’s keeping Abigail and Chad.

Chad questions Ava being the one in the Sarah mask. Abigail knows it makes no sense. Chad wonders if Ava was doing it to help a friend since she and Kristen were close at one point. Abigail questions close enough for multiple felonies. Abigail goes over ripping off the mask and then getting hit from behind, so the only one that she knows was there was Ava. Abigail suggests asking Steve and Kayla if they have any other insights so they should probably go find them. Chad questions that. Abigail explains that Kristen kidnapped them in Italy and brought them here, so her and Chad hurry out of the room to go find them.

Jennifer suggests a more neutral subject. Anna says that’s fine as she’s had her say about Gwen. Jack mentions that Anna has already heard the news, so he wanted to inform Xander that Abigail is coming home. Xander calls that tremendous news and says that’s why he came over, because he and Gwen read Jennifer’s article and wanted to express their support. Anna questions where Gwen is then. Xander responds that Gwen encouraged him to come without her, given the still strained relationship between her and Abigail. Anna says it will be a wonderful relief when Abigail, Chad, and Tony all come back safely to Salem. Xander agrees and knows Gwen feels the same.

Gwen tells Ava to stop because her speculation is not helpful. Ava warns that she should be nervous because if Abigail and Sarah get back here, both of their lives will go up in smoke. Gwen argues that Kristen promised not to let that happen. Ava questions believing Kristen will keep her promise. Gwen argues that Kristen is Ava’s friend. Ava points out that Kristen blackmailed them in to helping her escape, so if her back is against the wall, she won’t think twice about selling them out. Ava adds that if that happens, then Gwen can say goodbye to her boyfriend and her dad and hello to prison.

Kayla says they are going to find Abigail and Sarah. Kristen warns them to hope they still remember them. Kristen guesses this is goodbye. Kayla tells her that she is going back to Salem to pay for everything she’s done. Kayla assures she will see them again. Kristen says by then, she won’t have a clue who she is or why she’s about to kill them. Kristen laughs as Steve and Kayla exit the room.

Chad and Abigail join Tony and Sarah in the living room. Chad says they need to find Steve and Kayla. Abigail asks if Sarah knows where they are. Sarah responds that she might have an idea or two. Abigail asks her to take them to Steve and Kayla but Sarah says no because she doesn’t trust Steve after he threatened Kristen. Abigail explains that Steve is her uncle and a wonderful man, so she asks Sarah to take them to he and Kayla. Sarah says she will right after they eat. Abigail insists they need to go now. Sarah warns her that if she wants to see Steve and Kayla, she will pull up a chair and join them. Abigail and Chad then sit at the table. Chad asks if Abigail had any problems with the food on the island. Abigail says it’s been fine so far. Sarah calls it the best chicken they will have in their life and then she promises to take them to Steve and Kayla. Sarah questions what could be the harm in all of them having a nice family dinner together.

Gwen reveals to Ava that she and Xander got engaged. Ava congratulates her. Ava apologizes for getting a little worked up before but the article threw her. Ava tells Gwen that she is happy for her and adds that her son is proposing to his girlfriend tonight. Gwen comments that there must be something in the water. Ava doesn’t think so since no one is asking for her hand. Ava declares that everybody is getting their happily ever after except her. Ava then asks who needs love when you got revenge to keep you warm. Gwen states that revenge does not solve anything and only makes you feel worse. Gwen encourages Ava to find another way. Ava says she tried and stopped being so paranoid but that just got her a boyfriend who cheated on her with her best friend. Gwen agrees that’s awful. Ava says it’s her problem and congratulates Gwen and Xander on having a long and happy life together. Ava then exits.

Anna says they are thrilled that Abigail, Chad, and Tony will soon be home and safe in Salem. Anna decides to get going. Anna urges Xander to heed her warning about Gwen. Xander urges Anna to keep an open mind about Gwen, noting that Gwen speaks highly about her. Xander says that Gwen believes people can change and is confident that one day Anna will change her mind about her or become her friend. Anna calls it unlikely but supposes stranger things have happened. Anna says she will see them all soon. Anna congratulates Jack and Jennifer on the wonderful news as she then exits. Jack admits that Anna can be outspoken. Xander then asks Jack to be his best man when he marries Gwen. Jack gladly accepts as they hug. Xander jokes that he will soon be Jack’s son in law.

Abigail, Chad, Tony, and Sarah eat their dinner. Abigail says the sooner they finish, the sooner Sarah will take them to Steve and Kayla. Steve and Kayla then burst in, screaming for them not to eat the chicken. Kayla worries that it’s too late. Chad questions what she means. Steve and Kayla warn them of being poisoned. Chad complains that he ate half the chicken. Sarah stops them all and declares no one has been poisoned. Kayla says that Kristen told them that she drugged the food. Sarah reveals that she switched it out as she found a bottle of this cloudy liquid with a feather next to it in the kitchen when Kristen was cooking. Sarah remembered Kristen telling her that the serial killer that was after her used a Raven’s feather. Sarah announces that she emptied the bottle out and filled it back up with milk. Abigail realizes then they are not in danger.

Jack brings Jennifer roses and reminds her that it’s Valentine’s Day. Jennifer can’t believe Jack even found time to shop. Jack talks about when they met and says Jennifer turned his life upside down and taught him about faith. Jack informs her that he took an hour from worrying about their daughter, to make sure Jennifer had a Valentine’s Day to remember. Jack says that faith assured him that Abigail would be coming home, just like how he will always come home to her. Jennifer tells Jack that she loves him forever and wishes him a Happy Valentine’s Day as they kiss.

Chad questions what they are doing as Abigail goes back to get Renee’s diary. Abigail hopes that Sarah will be okay. Chad encourages that they will get Sarah the help she needs back in Salem. Chad adds how impressed he is that Abigail knew it wasn’t Sarah back in Salem and he still can’t believe it was Ava. Chad declares that as soon as they get home, Ava is going down and so is her accomplice.

Xander returns to his room to Gwen. Gwen asks how it went. Xander calls it interesting since Anna was there but he has good news. Xander announces that Jack agreed to be his best man which Gwen calls wonderful. Xander then adds that it looks like Abigail will be home in time for their wedding which Gwen questions. Xander reveals they found Abigail and she’s coming home.

Sarah tells Tony how happy she is that they are finally together. Sarah can’t wait to get back to Salem so Tony can get divorced and kick Anna to the curb.

Kayla tells Steve that she can’t wait to see Kristen’s face when she finds out her plan was ruined. They go back to where they left Kristen tied up, but find that Kristen is gone.

Recap written by Christine

At Newman Media, Nick wanted to know what was going down between Ashland, Victor and Victoria. Adam said he’d call Nick if there was news. Nick decided to stay at the office instead. Adam asked if that meant Nick was ready to team up with Victor in calling Ashland out. Nick didn’t know what he was going to do, but if Victoria was in trouble, he couldn’t walk away. Adam said it was too bad Nick wasn’t here earlier to help him stall Victoria. Adam tried, but he was Victoria’s least favorite person, and she left early on. A suspicious Nick asked Adam how hard he tried. “Things could be blowing up with Dad and Victoria right now. I don’t think you’d have a problem with that,” Nick said.

Adam said there was no part of him that was enjoying this situation. “You and Vick aren’t close. You don’t support each other,” Nick stated. Adam pointed out that he did a lot to support Victoria at the wedding. Nick countered that Adam did that for Victor, not Victoria. Adam said, regardless of his motives, he did a hell of a lot more than Nick, who didn’t even go to the ceremony. Nick explained he told Victoria who Ashland really was, and she asked him to stay away from the wedding. “Neither you nor I wanted this guy to be part of the family,” Adam replied. After Victor welcomed Ashland with open arms, knowing what he was capable of, Adam decided to trust Victor’s judgment and keep his mouth shut. Nick thought Adam had been filled with resentment ever since, especially after Victor sold Newman Media to Victoria and Ashland. Adam thought Ashland was a backstabbing SOB, and he was glad he wouldn’t have to answer to Ashland anymore, assuming Victor’s plan worked. However, that wasn’t the same as celebrating Victoria’s broken heart. Adam said he wasn’t that vindictive or small. He suggested Nick was projecting his own feelings about the situation. Nick had predicted Ashland would do something terrible, but he wasn’t happy to be right about it. He said Victoria had been through more betrayals than anyone he’d ever met, and she’d be crushed when she found out Ashland had been playing her for a fool.

Nick suspected Adam knew what Victor’s plan was. Adam understood why Nick would think that, given what happened in Tuscany, but Adam really didn’t know. Nick believed him. Adam speculated that Victor was going to try and get Ashland to confess and turn himself in to the police. Nick said faking cancer wasn’t a crime. Adam thought Ashland committed fraud when he used the fake illness to trick Victoria into marrying him. Nick said it was grounds for annulment, but he wasn’t sure it was a crime. He thought that it would be hard for Victoria to get Ashland out of her life, since he owned half of Newman Locke.

Adam thought it was ironic that Victoria got all this praise for making the merger of the decade, when she was actually falling into a trap and taking the whole family down with her. “If I find out you’re using this to your advantage…” Nick warned. Adam said none of this was his fault. He told Nick to go find Locke if he wanted to punish someone. Adam contended that Nick wouldn’t confront Locke, because he wanted to stay neutral. He told Nick to stop trying to be the good guy when he didn’t have skin in the game. Nick wasn’t neutral; he was pissed, but he was staying out of it because he didn’t know what Victor’s plan was. He would be there for Victoria if she needed him. Adam thought Victoria would need more than a shoulder to cry on. Nick said he saw this coming fifty miles away, and he tried telling everyone, but nobody would listen. He said he could tell Victoria that she made her bed, or he could let Ashland get away with all this. Neither option would be easy for Nick. “You always pretend to be above it all, bu the truth is when the chips are down and someone comes after one of the Newmans, you’re gonna get pulled back in just like the rest of us,” Adam said.

Sally visited Adam after Nick left. She saw Nick and Victor leaving earlier, and she asked if this family drama was none of her business or something that could affect Newman Media. He told her that Ashland and Victoria’s marriage was likely about to implode. Sally hoped that was a horrible joke and that the relationship wasn’t already over after that incredible wedding. Adam said things weren’t always as they appeared, especially when it came to Locke. Sally said she’d never forgive Locke if he was cheating on Victoria. Adam didn’t realize Sally was so invested in this relationship. Sally wouldn’t put it that way, but she felt for Victoria, whose wedding made international news, partially because of the dress Sally designed. Sally said Victoria would be heartbroken and humiliated. Sally knew Victoria and Adam weren’t close siblings, but Sally thought that he had to be somewhat sympathetic to his sister. Adam said of course he felt bad. Not long ago, he got his heart broken by someone he loved and trusted, and he wouldn’t wish that on his worst enemy. Sally asked why Adam was so calm. He said that Victoria was a survivor, just like the rest of the Newmans, and the family would rally around her. Sally assumed Victor was disappointed because he was counting on Victoria and Ashland to run his empire. If Ashland got kicked to the curb, Victoria would be distracted and question her decisions; she could lose focus and Newman Locke could suffer. Sally and Adam exchanged a look as they thought about the future of Newman Locke. She asked who’d be in charge if this happened. “Ten billion dollar question,” he replied.

Victoria knocked on her office door and called out to Ashland. Inside the locked office, Victor asked Ashland if they had a deal. Nikki walked up hoping to fill Victoria in on the marketing meeting. Nikki learned Victoria was locked out and her key was inside. Nikki went to get her key. Back in the office, Victor said he had proof that Ashland lied about his illness. Ashland countered that Victor only had theory. Victor said he could show Victoria the proof, but he’d rather not upset her unnecessarily. Victor said that if Ashland loved Victoria at all, he’d tell her his cancer was back, return to Peru and then cut ties with her as painlessly as possible. “If you don’t follow my terms you will suffer the consequences of your deception,” Victor warned. Victoria got into the office, thanks to Nikki, and asked what the hell was going on.

Ashland lied and said he must’ve accidentally locked the door when he came in. Victoria asked Victor what he was doing there when he said he wanted to meet in Adam’s office. Ashland said that was his fault too. He stated that Victor reached out and wanted to talk to him privately about the plan to make Ashland c-CEO of Newman Locke. “Apparently Nikki was right, and your father has reservations,” Ashland said. Victor asked Nikki when she found out about this. Nikki said she found out today, and told Victoria to discuss it with Victor. Victoria wanted to know how Victor found out. He didn’t think that was important. She asked why he wanted to talk to Ashland alone. He assured her that he and Ashland had a productive conversation.

Victoria made it clear that she and Ashland were a team. Ashland assured Victoria that he and Victor both wanted what was best for her and Newman Locke. Victoria asked what issue Victor had with Ashland becoming co-CEO of the company that bore his name. Victor pretended he was concerned about Ashland’s health. Victoria said Ashland cleared this with is doctor. She stated that Ashland was like her and Victor – he was fueled by his work. She’d seen that Ashland was getting stronger, and she thought it would be good for the company if he took a larger role. Nikki sided with Victor. Victoria said that if Ashland’s condition worsened, he could take a step back. Victoria saw no reason to deny Ashland the tile he deserved. She was prepared to sign the papers right now. She grabbed the contract, and Ashland looked back at Victor and smiled. Nikki thought they should at least wait a day or two. Ashland was amenable to that. Victoria was determined to sign the papers today. She said it was her decision and it was the right thing to do.

Victoria signed the contract, while Nikki shot an alarmed look at Victor. Ashland suddenly doubled over while breathing heavily. Ashland said he was okay, he just needed to go outside for air. Nikki was very concerned as she watched Victoria hustle Ashland out of the office. Victor told the worried Nikki that what she’d just witnessed was all an act. “He did exactly what I asked him to do.” Victor told Nikki about the ultimatum he gave Ashland. She asked if Ashland admitted to the lie. He thought it was telling that Ashland backed off from signing the document. Victor contended that Ashland was a monster. She was concerned Ashland was really sick. She said that Ashland might be telling Victoria everything right now, and Victoria would side with him and be furious with Victor. At that moment, Victoria returned, saying Ashland insisted on being alone.

Victoria told Victor that what he’d done to Ashland was unacceptable. “You upset and you insulted my husband. Acting like we’re doing him some favor by allowing him to help us run this company that he half owns!,” she snapped. She stated that Ashland was a brilliant businessman who was feared and respected by top corporate leaders. She asked why she’d keep an asset like that on a sideline. Victor saw no issue with Ashland advising Victoria sometimes, but he saw no reason to give Ashland all this authority. Victoria said it was frustrating for Ashland to work this way. Victor said that Ashland may have had a relapse. Victoria thought that Ashland just had a reaction to the pressure Victor put on him. She didn’t believe Victor was objecting because of Ashland’s health. Victoria thought that Victor just wanted to be in control, and he couldn’t stand the fact that she was making decisions. She asked why he couldn’t learn to trust her judgment. She stated that she deserved to be in the place, and she wanted him to let her do her job at her company as she saw fit.

Victoria stormed out of the office and ran into Nick in the hallway. She asked what he was doing here, and he said he came to check on her. She didn’t believe he just happened to be in the neighborhood. “You’re here because you knew exactly what Dad was up to,” she said. She asked if the whole family had been discussing this behind her back. Victoria wondered how old she had to be and what she needed to do do live her life without constant interference from their father. Nick thought Victoria should get out of the business – the closer you are to the fire, the more you were burned. Victoria said that Victor had been going behind her back and spying on her, and she thought Nick came because he knew what Victor was up to. Nick clarified that he had nothing to do with it and only found out a little while ago. Victoria made it clear that Nick had better not be lying to her. He said he was telling the truth. He learned awhile ago not to get involved in her life. “I didn’t even know Dad was gonna tell you about it,” he said. Victoria realized she and Nick were talking about different things. “Wait a minute. Tell me what?,” she asked.

Ashland was on the phone at Society. “You need to find everyone who’s talking to Michael Baldwin and put an end to it. Immediately and forever. Do we understand each other?” he said.

Devon dropped by the Chancellor Mansion, and Abby told him that if he was there to see Dom, his timing couldn’t be better, because the baby was fresh out of the bath. Devon wondered why Dom was bathed in the middle of the day, and Abby explained that he’d had sweet potatoes and peas for the first time. Devon was happy to hear Abby had pictures of the event. She was glad Dom’s appetite was back. Devon wanted Dom to come to his place for a couple days if that was okay with Abby and Chance. Abby said the baby was still in recovery, and they had to be careful. Devon said he would be. Abby wasn’t implying otherwise. Chance came home from his walk, and Abby filled him in. it was hard for Abby to imagine Dom not being here; she still woke up a couple times a night to check on him. Devon understood – he kept waking up at night worrying about Dom. Chance thought this wasn’t such a bad idea. He reminded Abby that he’d been a little worried, given what was happening later. He told Devon that he had his first therapy session today. Chance thought he may have still been avoiding all this if it weren’t for Devon’s encouragement. Chance told a curious Abby that Devon helped him realize he couldn’t do this alone. Chance was concerned he’d be a bit “off” after the session, and he didn’t want Dominic to see him like that. Abby said Chance was right, and she apologized for hesitating earlier. Devon told Abby she didn’t ever have to apologize to him. She went to pack Dominic’s stuff.

Devon appreciated Chance helping Abby be cool with this. Chance felt lucky to have a friend like Devon. He reiterated that hearing Devon open up about his struggles helped him. Devon said that it took a strong person to do what Chance did, and this would help his whole family. Devon said therapy wasn’t like flipping a light switch, but he had no doubt Chance would make it to the other side. Later, Devon left with the baby. Abby wondered if it would get easier to watch Dom leave. Chance said Abby would get used to it, and by the time Dom went off to the first day of school, she’d be a tough mom who didn’t cry at all. She didn’t even want to think about that. She said Dom would have a great time with Devon, and she could give Chance her undivided attention when he got home from therapy. She wanted to ride with him, and go shopping while he was in therapy. He promised he’d be fine. He wasn’t even sure he’d click with this doctor. She told him there was no pressure today, and it would all be okay, because she’d be here waiting for him when she got home. He found that comforting. They kissed.

Devon took Dominic to the penthouse and told him he’d always have a home here, even when he was an adult with a family of his own. Devon played a song on the piano for Dom.

Chance met with Dr. Huffman, who was ex-military like Chance. Chance asked if he saw action. Dr. Huffman saw things he couldn’t forget. He asked how Chance found his way here. Chance explained that Sharon Rosales was a close family friend, and she thought Chance would be more comfortable with someone who served. Chance wasn’t comfortable at all though. Dr. Huffman didn’t think anyone was at ease on their first day. He asked why Chance was here. “I just want to be me,” Chance replied. Chance opened up about his marriage – Abby was great and supportive. He said he had one child so far. He explained the circumstances surrounding Dominic’s conception; how Chance needed a donor because of an infection he got after he was shot while working as a police detective. Dr. Huffman learned that Dom was carried by a surrogate and that Chance missed the whole pregnancy. Chance said he missed a lot, and Abby said he’d catch up, but… He explained that they were now sharing custody with the donor, a close friend. Dr. Huffman asked if the custody change was difficult for Chance. It wasn’t for Chance, but it was for Abby. Chance saw that Devon adored Dom. Chance was still waiting to connect with Dom and feel like Dom was his son. “You know the way that I would feel if I was the man I was before I went on that mission,” Chance said. Dr. Huffman thought Chance needed to talk about what happened in Spain.

Dr. Huffman asked what happened in Spain. Chance said his team’s cover was blown, but they had no warning. He was bringing groceries into the safe house when all hell broke loose. It was like the earth was ripped in half. He was blown back and he was pretty out of it. When the smoek cleared, the whole building was gone. He looked for his team and didn’t find anyone. He saw some men slowly walking through the site. They were looking for survivors to finish them off. Chance buried himself in rubble and played dead. When everyone heard the sirens, the men took off, and Chance did the same. Some former medic friends of his patched him up. His family was told he was dead. Abby didn’t believe him and went looking for him. His family kept saying he was lucky and a hero. It didn’t sit well with him. Chance replayed that day in Spain every day. He said there were certain triggers like smells, or the sky being a certain shade of blue that brought him back to that day. He dreamed about it too. Usually, he just saw faces of his team. Chance felt like he was being punished for failing his team.

Chance went home. Abby wanted to know what happened at the meeting, then she said it was none of her business. He said he was exhausted, and there was a lot of work to do. She knew he had a lot of broken pieces that needed to be put back together, but she loved him always and they’d get through it together. She was proud of him.

Days of Our Lives Update

Days of Our Lives logo

Update written by Joseph

Tripp goes to the Brady Pub where Roman asks him about proposing to Allie. Tripp informs him that it was a disaster.

Allie remains outside crying as Kate approaches. Allie mentions that she hoped it was Tripp. Kate asks her what’s wrong. Allie says everything as Kate hugs her.

Tony and Chad sit on the DiMera Jet. Chad worries that Ned was Abigail’s kidnapper and could have sent them on a wild goose chase. Tony assures that he convinced Ned to tell them the truth. Chad complains that it’s taking so long to get there. Tony insists that they now know where Abigail is. Chad points out that’s with Kristen. Chad prays that Abigail is safe and unharmed by the time they finally get there.

Abigail pounds on the door as Kristen has locked her in the bedroom where Sarah was held. Abigail says she was out of her mind to believe Kristen anyway. Sarah then enters the room. Abigail is excited to see her but Sarah is left confused.

Kristen has Steve and Kayla tied up with gags over the mouth as they are sat at a table. Kristen wheels in a food cart and wishes them a Happy Valentine’s Day. Kristen says she’s sorry about the gags but she couldn’t bear another lecture and says they’ve always been so pushy. Kristen flashes back to Steve and Kayla threatening her with flare guns. Kristen reveals that Sarah was the one that knocked Steve out from behind. Kristen then says she means Renee DuMonde.

Abigail tells Sarah that she’s so happy to see her as she’s the reason she came here. Sarah questions what Abigail is doing in her room and complains about having to sleep somewhere else last night. Sarah asks why everyone keeps calling her Sarah and tells Abigail that her name is Renee DuMonde. Abigail apologizes for upsetting her and says she knows everything that’s happened to her because Kristen told her. Sarah says it’s not her, it’s everyone else. Sarah claims that she knows who she is and asks if they are all crazy or something.

Kate asks Allie who she cheated on Tripp with. Allie admits that it was Chanel. Allie says Chanel is like her best friend she’s ever had and she couldn’t believe how happy she was to see her again when she moved here. Kate asks if Chanel came on to her. Allie assures that was not the case and they just had a couple of kisses. Kate asks if she considers that cheating. Allie says no and that Tripp was cool with that and didn’t judge her or anything. Allie adds that Chanel and Johnny got married and they put that all behind them. Kate doesn’t understand the problem then. Allie explains that after Johnny broke up with Chanel in front of everyone, Chanel was a wreck and asked her to stay over. Allie says they were laying in bed and it just happened. Kate asks if Allie told Tripp. Allie reveals that Johnny blurted it out. Kate questions why he would do something so cruel. Allie says that Johnny is not the same anymore. Allie adds that Chanel tried to say he was lying but Tripp didn’t buy it and asked her if it was true. Allie knew she had to be honest. Kate asks if Allie is feeling confused about her sexuality. Allie insists that she’s not and she loves Tripp. Kate wishes she could tear Johnny from limb to limb. Allie says after what Johnny did to her and Chanel, she hates him and told him that he’s not her brother anymore. Allie blames herself for screwing up and keeping it from Tripp for weeks then he found out anyway. Kate asks if there’s any hope. Allie doesn’t think so and she wouldn’t blame Tripp if he never wanted to see her again.

Roman informs Tripp that he did hear something happened between Allie and Chanel but he thought it was minor and over with. Tripp says that Allie told him about them kissing and he was surprised but she said it was over, so he made himself get past that. Tripp adds that after that, things were great between them and Allie knew that but then she went and slept with Chanel. Roman asks how long ago that was. Tripp informs him it was the night of Chanel and Johnny’s wedding party. Roman notes that was a month ago. Tripp feels he shouldn’t be telling Roman since Allie is his granddaughter. Roman says he loves Allie and she’s been through Hell but Tripp was the best thing to happen to her in a long time which is why he gave his blessing. Tripp adds that Roman also told him not to rush in to marriage unless he was sure that’s what Allie wanted and he was right.

Kristen laughs about Sarah knocking out Steve and how scared Kayla was. Kristen explains that she then held Kayla at gunpoint to get them down here. Kristen removes their gags, so they immediately ask what she’s done with Abigail. Kristen assures that she’s just fine except for her guilty conscience.

Abigail tells Sarah that she came hoping to find her, but Sarah found her. Abigail says she’ll try to explain everything. Abigail shows her Renee’s diary and admits she read it. Abigail calls it an unbelivable story that she knows is true, but it’s not Sarah’s story, it’s Renee’s. Sarah remarks that she doesn’t understand anything. Abigail asks if she trusts Kristen. Sarah calls Kristen her little sister. Abigail says that Kristen told her that she gave Sarah the diary after she got her and she was drugged and confused, thus when she read the diary, she became convinced it was her story. Abigail tells Sarah that she’s not Renee. Sarah questions how reading a diary could make her think that she’s someone she’s not. Abigail says it’s because of her.

Tony tells Chad that he understands his feelings about Kristen. Chad points out that Kristen wasn’t always this bad. Chad says when he came in to the family, Kristen treated him like an annoying kid brother but she seemed to like him. Tony points out that it all got worse for her when her relationship with Brady fell apart and she lost contact with her daughter. Tony thinks part of Kristen still thinks of Chad as her brother and remembers Jennifer as her friend, so he doesn’t think Kristen would harm Abigail. Chad worries that they have no idea what to expect when they land on the island. Chad talks about not even knowing this place existed. Tony reveals that he spent time there on a romantic getaway. Chad questions why he didn’t tell him that he and Anna had been there. Tony then reveals it was before Anna and before Chad was born, it was a woman that he was very in love with named Renee DuMonde.

Sarah questions how it could be Abigail’s fault when she doesn’t even know her. Abigail says it’s her fault that she got the drug that Kristen gave her which Sarah questions. Abigail reminds Sarah that she found a syringe with a mind altering drug and explains trying to give it to Gwen. Abigail talks about Sarah trying to defend herself against Kristen. Sarah argues that Kristen has always been good to her. Abigail tells her that Kristen drugged her and brought her here. Abigail says if she lets her tell the whole story, she can help her believe how this all happened and who she really is.

Kristen explains to Steve and Kayla that Abigail was planning on injecting Gwen to sweat a confession out of her. Steve points out that Abigail didn’t go through with her plan. Kayla accuses Kristen of injecting Sarah and giving her Renee’s diary. Kristen argues that she was forced to use the syringe but Abigail left it there to be found, so it’s all on her. Kayla refuses to believe her until she sees Abigail for herself to see she’s alright. Steve demands that Kristen take them to Abigail now. Kristen encourages them to eat the meal that she brought. Kristen points out that it’s not just Valentine’s Day, but their anniversary.

Kate tells Allie that she’s had a number of relationships turn bad so she shouldn’t ever give up hope. Allie argues that Kate wasn’t there. Kate thinks Tripp reacted how he did because he felt blindsided and once he calms down, he will realize what he’s throwing away. Kate asks if she’s tried to talk to him yet. Allie says no because he was so mad and hurt that she doesn’t think he could look at her. Kate refuses to leave Allie by herself and invites her to the Pub where she plans to have dinner with Roman. Allie points out that it’s Valentine’s Day so they should be alone. Kate argues that Allie shouldn’t be alone and they wouldn’t have a good time after what happened to her. Kate says Allie is her grandchild and she loves her. Kate asks Allie to come with her.

Tripp tells Roman that he just doesn’t get it as it’s not just that Allie cheated on him, but that it was with Chanel which makes him think maybe she’s not as in to men as she wants to be. Roman can’t answer that but tells him that he knows what it feels like to be cheated on by a woman that you thought you’d spend the rest of your life with. Tripp mentions that Kayla told him about Roman and Marlena. Roman talks about Marlena swearing that she loved him but it turns out that she loved John in a different way which ended their marriage. Tripp thinks Allie loves him and says that’s the hard part. Tripp says that Allie is a good person so she wouldn’t just go behind his back for someone who meant nothing to her. Tripp wonders if Allie just loves Chanel in a different way, like Marlena and John. Roman points out that they had been married for a long time and had kids while Tripp and Allie aren’t there yet. Roman says this could be a phase. Roman notes that Tripp said he believes Allie still loves him and he loves her. Roman wonders if they could get past this.

Tony tells Chad about he and Renee falling in love and then finding out they were brother and sister but then discovering that it was never true and by then, Renee had already married David and Tony met Anna. Tony thought it was over for them but Renee felt different and wanted him back. Tony talks about Renee doing hideous things to Anna and it was all for nothing. Tony calls Anna the love of his life and Renee had to accept the fact that she couldn’t come between them. Tony says he never wished Renee any harm, but his life has become far less complicated now that she’s dead. Tony looks out the window and says he can see land and light which excites he and Chad.

Sarah goes over Abigail telling her about Kristen kidnapping her and locking her in a secret room, where she found the syringe that Kristen used on her. Sarah doesn’t believe any of it. Abigail understands that she doesn’t remember because the drug wiped her memory of it. Sarah argues that Kristen would never do that to her but Abigail assures that Kristen would do that to anyone who got in her way. Abigail admits that she doesn’t think Kristen knew what was in the syringe but it’s a very powerful drug that has made Sarah believe that she is someone that she is not. Abigail knows what the drug can do because Gwen gave it to her and it caused her to have hallucinations, leading to her going to a psychiatric hospital for months. Abigail adds that she could have lost everything she loved but she got treatment and got better. Abigail warns Sarah that if she doesn’t listen to her, she could go down the same hole that she did and she might never get out.

Kristen opens a bottle of champagne and talks about Valentine’s Day meaning a lot to Steve and Kayla. Kristen offers to untie them so they can eat. Kayla questions why she’s doing this. Steve doesn’t think they should touch the food. Kristen encourages them to enjoy the island because they aren’t going anywhere, so they can sit here tied up or they can enjoy the dinner. Kristen says it’s their choice. Steve says they will take the dinner. Kristen decides that she will untie them then.

Tripp tells Roman that Allie said she still wanted to marry him and what happened with Chanel was a mistake. Tripp admits he wanted to believe her. Roman asks if he still loves her. Tripp says he can’t just turn it off with a switch. Roman points out that they still love each other, so maybe Tripp could find it in his heart to forgive her. Kate and Allie then arrive at the Pub. Tripp asks what Allie is doing there. Kate explains that she came with her but they didn’t know Tripp would be here too. Tripp decides to leave but Kate asks him not to go. Kate says she brought Allie because she’s heartbroken and she didn’t want her to be alone. Kate adds that Allie just told her that she still loves Tripp and feels miserable about what happened. Kate knows Tripp is hurt as they had something so lovely together. Kate asks if Tripp can find it in his heart to forgive her. Tripp points out that Roman just asked him the same question. Roman asks what his answer is.

With Kristen gone, Kayla unties Steve. Steve tries to escape but finds the door is locked. Kayla asks about eating the food. Steve points out that they saw her open the champagne so it couldn’t have been poisoned. Steve adds that Kristen didn’t poison the salad that Kayla ate. Kayla notes that they do need to eat so they don’t pass out. Steve is tired of second-guessing Kristen and he does want to celebrate their anniversary. Steve decides they should go for it. Steve and Kayla wish each other a Happy Anniversary and drink their champagne glasses.

Abigail asks if Sarah is thinking about what she said. Abigail knows better than anyone what Sarah is going through. Abigail talks about how her mind was so messed up that she didn’t recognize her husband but he was Chad DiMera. Sarah reacts to the DiMera name. Abigail explains that her husband is Stefano’s youngest son. Sarah remarks that they are practically sisters then and she hugs Abigail.

Roman asks Tripp again what his answer is but Allie tells them not to do this to him in front of everyone. Allie and Tripp step to the side. Allie knows Tripp can barely stand to be in the same room as her and she doesn’t blame him. Allie cries that she hates herself for what she did to him when he stood by her through everything and forgave her for other stupid stuff she’s done. Allie brings up Henry loving him like a father. Allie thinks she couldn’t tell him about what happened with Chanel for the same reason that she couldn’t tell him that she loved him for so long. Allie cries that she felt like damaged goods and like she wasn’t good enough for him, so now she’s proven that. Allie adds that she will never stop hating how much she hurt him but she’ll never stop loving him either. Tripp says she says these things and it seems like she means it, but she’s also said a lot of other things that he thought she meant. Tripp feels like he’ll never be sure if it’s him that she wants and if they’re not together, he could never be sure of who she’s with or what she’s doing. Tripp declares that he’s sorry but he can’t live like that. Tripp walks out of the Pub and Allie breaks down crying. Kate apologizes to Allie for bringing her here. Allie tells Kate it’s not her fault but she just wants to go home. Roman asks Allie to stay with them for dinner but Allie says she can’t eat and just wants to go. Allie then hurries out of the Pub.

Steve and Kayla finish their meal. Kayla feels like they haven’t been poisoned. Steve says he feels okay too. Kayla recalls their first Valentine’s Day wedding at Julie’s Place when it was still Club TBD. Steve remembers getting back from trying to track Stefano down and getting married. Kayla calls it so special because Joey and Stephanie were there. Kayla thought that would be their forever wedding. Steve says it should’ve been because the guy who sent her divorce papers wasn’t really him. Steve adds that they are fine now. Steve declares that last Valentine’s Day was their forever wedding. Kayla calls it her only surprise wedding. Steve says he just couldn’t wait another day for them to be married. Steve remembers Kayla saying that she knew it would be their last wedding because she’d never let him go again. Kayla tells him that if he ever leaves her, she’s going with him. Steve assurse that he’s not going anywhere. They then get up and kiss each other.

Abigail tells Sarah that she is not her sister-in-law but her cousin. Sarah talks as though Chad is her long lost brother. Sarah recalls Renee thinking Tony was her half brother but then finding out Stefano wasn’t his father and it was too late. Abigail says they are talking about the Horton family. Sarah doesn’t want to hear about that and asks about Chad and Tony. Sarah asks if Tony misses her as much as she misses him.

Chad and Tony arrive at the house on the island. Tony recalls being here before. Chad notes the place is enormous. Tony says it has at least two wings so they should check every room for Abigail. They decide to split up. After they go in opposite directions, Kristen comes in and says she could’ve sworn that she heard the front door..

Abigail assures Sarah that she would never lie to her. Chad then comes in to the room. Abigail excitedly hugs him, saying she knew he would find her.

Allie returns home and finds a note from Nicole, saying she put Henry to bed and went to bed herself, adding that she would get up with Henry so Allie and Tripp could sleep in as late as they want, hoping they had the best, most romantic Valentine’s Day ever. Allie then breaks down crying again.

Tripp returns to the picnic set up where he proposed to Allie. Tripp sits down with the ring.

Steve and Kayla reminisce about their wedding and how John and Marlena couldn’t make it because they had food poisoning, then Abe happened to come to the Pub just in time while Tripp filled in as best man and Sarah happened to show up to be Kayla’s maid of honor. They say it feels like a lifetime ago. Kayla wonders what Tripp and Allie are doing tonight. Kristen returns and asks if they enjoyed the food. Kayla calls it average. Steve guesses Kristen didn’t poison it. Kristen reveals that she came back to tell them that she actually did lie.

Chad asks if Abigail is okay. Abigail says she is now. Sarah calls this so romantic and tells Chad that it’s nice to meet him. Chad asks what’s going on with her. Tony then enters. Sarah rushes up and hugs Tony, saying she can’t believe he’s here, leaving Tony confused.

Recap written by Christine

I don’t want Victoria to get hurt any more than you do,” Nick told Victor, “but what Ashland has done is unforgivable and he needs to be dealt with now.” Adam agreed with Nick, but he also agreed with Victor’s point that they couldn’t afford to be reckless. Nick didn’t think there was a way to handle Ashland without this blowing up in Victoria’s face. Victor intended to deal with Ashland one on one. Nick wondered why Victor brought called this meeting if he wasn’t going to share his plan. Victor didn’t know what else Ashland had up his sleeve.

At Newman Locke, Nikki wanted to know why Victoria hadn’t met with Victor yet. Victoria didn’t think she needed to go this instant, but Nikki thought Victor needed to know ASAP. Ashland returned and stopped short when he saw that Nikki was still in the office. Nikki stated that she was having a conversation with her daughter. Ashland said he’d come back later, but Victoria assured him he wasn’t interrupting. She told Nikki that he didn’t keep things from her husband – they were partners in every way. Victoria said Nikki was apparently concerned about how Victor would take the news of Ashland’s new title. Ashland hoped he’d be supportive. Nikki said that the company was Victor’s legacy, and it meant a great deal to him that it was being run by his oldest child. Ashland said changing his title wouldn’t diminish Victoria’s position. Victoria said she didn’t need Victor’s permission, but she did agree with Nikki that they should let him know soon. Ashland concurred, but he pointed out that they had a marketing meeting coming up. Nikki said she’d cover the meeting. Ashland said he’d go see Victor with Victoria, so they could present a united front. Victoria called Victor to set up the meeting. He told her to come to Newman Media. Victor then texted Ashland that they needed to speak in private without Victoria’s knowledge. Nikki saw the look on Ashland’s face and asked if something was wrong. Ashland said nothing was wrong; he just needed to meet with a former employee of Locke Communication Group.

Back at Newman Media, Nick left after finding out Victoria and Ashland were on their way. Before leaving, he told Victor to call when he needed Nick. Victor asked if Adam would support his plan. When Victoria got to Newman Media, she was surprised to see Adam waiting for her, and not Victor. She asked where their dad was, and Adam claimed he didn’t know. Victoria didn’t understand why Victor would just leave when he knew she was coming to discuss something important with him. Adam suggested Victoria bounce her ideas off him. She declined. He said they worked with each other now. She clarified that he worked for her. He agreed, and he said they both wanted the company to succeed. She said this was too high level, and she turned to leave. He stalled her by saying he wanted to talk about some potential ideas for Newman Media.

Victoria sat and listened to Adam, but she soon grew fed up, because she thought the things he was saying were over-ambitious and unfocused. She suggested he run this by his brilliant new COO, unless Sally was too busy designing a business suit, so she could look the part. Adam said Sally was more than capable of designing a wardrobe, but right now she was too busy working on a budget. “Can’t wait to crunch those numbers,” Victoria sarcastically said. Adam asked if Victoria could tone down the condescension. He knew she met with Sally, and Sally had some impressive ideas that not even Victoria could shoot down. Victoria asked if that was how Sally characterized their run in. Victoria assumed Sally was so confident in herself because she was sleeping with the boss. Adam thought that was a low blow even for Victoria. He reminded her that she shared sheets with a chief advisor. She said she and Ashland were married, and he was more than a chief advisor, as Adam would soon find out. She said he needed to respect Ashland, and she wouldn’t tolerate him running to Daddy every time he got his feelings hurt. She wasn’t sure if he had some delusion that he was going to run the company again, but he had to get rid of that pipe dream, because she and Ashland were running the show. He noted that she seemed very confident. She said she was, because what she and Ashland had was special. “That’s one word for it,” he replied. She asked why he looked so smug, and he said it was his resting face.

Adam was curious what it was about Victoria’s relationship with Ashland that worked so well. He asked her to share her wisdom. Victoria had better things to do, and she was going back to work. Adam tried stalling again by pointing out that they’d have to work together on a regular basis in their current positions. She said they’d see if he succeeded or failed. He said he’d succeed. Sally called, and Adam ignored it, saying it could wait. Victoria told him not to blow off his invaluable second in command on Victoria’s account. She headed to the door. He told her they weren’t finished, but she left anyway.

Victor met Ashland in Victoria’s office. “Ashland. I’m done playing games with you, okay? It ends now.” Victor locked the door, and Ashland thought that was a little dramatic. Victor confronted Ashland about pretending to have cancer. Ashland said his doctors would say the cancer was real. “The doctors you paid off or the ones that you supplied with falsified medical records?,” Victor asked. Ashland asked why he’d do such a thing. Victor thought Ashland dreamed of combining Locke and Newman and presiding over the behemoth. Ashland pointed out that Victoria was running the company. Victor said Ashalnd put the idea for the merger in Victoria’s head, and she felt sorry for him because she thought he only had a few months to live. “You played that game masterfully, but now it’s over,” Victor said.

Ashland accused Victor of being irrational. He said he’d been humiliated when his illness hit the press. Victor figured Ashland probably leaked the story. Ashland asked if he’d really walk away from his son and trick him into thinking his father was dying. Victor stated that Harrison wasn’t Ashland’s son. Ashland said Victor crossed a line. He recalled Victoria saying Victor could be cold and cruel. Victor calmly confirmed that he could be very cold and very cruel. He told Ashland to stop the bull. Victor had evidence Ashland paid off the doctors in Peru to falsify his records. Victor had people gathering information about Ashland’s shenanigans. Ashland said that he had enemies all over. “Doesn’t this feel like a set up?,” he asked. Victor was furious about what Ashland had done to Victor’s company, daughter, wife, and his grandchildren. “No one uses my family as a pawn in their dreadful game!,” Victor bellowed. “Under no circumstances will you let my daughter, Victoria feel that she was subject and victim of a hoax,” Victor snapped. Victor would rather have Victoria’s heart broken than her spirit broken by Ashland.

Victor demanded that Ashland take the following steps: Announce his cancer had returned, travel to Peru alone and wait for Victor to deem the time was right. Once Victor gave the signal, Ashland was to ask Victoria for a quick divorce and give her control of Newman Locke in the settlement. Finally, Victor wanted Ashland to disappear from Victoria’s life forever. Ashland sighed, and slowly asked why he’d ever walk away from the woman he loved.

Victor said not to insult his intelligence. He didn’t think there was any love in that relationship. “You have used my daughter as a pawn. As a means to an end,” Victor said. Ashland contended that he loved Victoria more than he’d ever loved anyone in his entire life, and she loved him too. Ashland asked what Victor thought Victoria would do if he suddenly flew to Peru and filed for divorce out of nowhere. “What do you think the powerful, strong willed daughter you raised would do? Do you think she would just sit back and accept it? That’s not going to happen,” Ashland said. Victoria showed up and found herself locked out of her office. She called out to Ashland.

Sharon and Rey were at Crimson Lights. She had a stack of bridal magazines, and he knew she was just waiting to pounce on Mariah and Tessa with them. She thought pounce was a strong word, but the wedding date was fast approaching, and there were a lot of decisions Mariah and Tessa hadn’t made yet. Sharon was afraid that if Mariah and Tessa didn’t make up their minds soon, the wedding might not happen. Rey said the wedding would come together, because it was meant to be. He reminded her that there was always a little magic involved in these things. She agreed. She was trying not to check in every second, but she wanted to help Mariah and Tessa if she could. He loved that she was so pumped about this, but he also loved that she understood that Mariah and Tessa could choose whatever they wanted, no matter how quirky or off-beat it was.

Rey looked forward to this wedding, but nothing would surpass his wedding to Sharon. He remembered staring into those big beautiful blue eyes. Sharon thought she kind of faded away during the ceremony, but she enjoyed the reception. Nick came in, and Rey called him the best man. Nick asked what, and Rey explained they were discussing weddings. Sharon asked Nick what was wrong. He didn’t want to talk about it. Rey stepped onto the patio to check in at work. Sharon repeated her question and assured him he could trust her. Nick said Ashland had done something despicable, and it could destroy Victoria, and Nick didn’t know how to help her.

Nick told Sharon how Victor learned that Ashland had been making donations to the clinic in Peru. Sharon didn’t think that was a big deal. Nick knew Sharon always wanted to see the best in everyone, but he said this time, Victor’s instincts were right. He explained that a couple of doctors went on record saying Ashland bribed them to say that he had cancer, but in reality, he was never sick. Sharon couldn’t even wrap her head around that. Nick said Ashland used Victoria to get his hands on the company. Nick swore Sharon to secrecy. He came to her because he needed someone to talk to about it. She promised she wouldn’t say anything, but she thought that Victoria needed to know as soon as possible. Nick said Victor claimed to have some plan that would cause Victoria the least amount of pain. Sharon thought that was risky. Nick said the last time he went to Victoria and told her what Ashland did, she was okay with it, so why would this time be different? Sharon didn’t think Nick gave Victoria enough credit. Sharon said that what Ashland did was unforgivable, it would destroy every ounce of trust Victoria had in him. As a cancer survivor, Sharon was appalled.

Nick was just as appalled. The conversation ended because Noah came in looking like he’d just rolled out of bed, as Sharon said. She said she heard Noah come home just after dawn. She was glad she knew he’d started staying at her place again, after that stint at his dad’s or she would’ve thought there was a prowler. Noah was sorry. He was trying to be quiet. Sharon said he was until he knocked over a lamp. Noah understood what Sharon was getting at and said he wasn’t drinking, he was just clumsy. He’d been with a girl he knew from high school. Sharon grinned and asked if it was romantic. Nick told Noah he didn’t have to answer that, because it said that was none of his parents’ business. Noah said the girl was just a friend, and they stayed out all night talking.

Nick said Noah was an adult, so he could stay out as long as he wanted, but Nick preferred a well-rested employee. Noah noted that this was the problem with working for your dad and living with your mom. Nick clarified that he wasn’t saying there was an issue. Sharon loved Noah living with her. Noah promised to get his work done and to get a good night’s sleep. He asked them to stop worrying about him. They said they’d try, but as parents, it was nearly impossible. Noah wondered why Sharon and Nick looked so intense when he walked in. Nick said he’d just vented to Sharon about the complications of being a Newman.

Upstairs, Mariah finished up a shocking phone call. Alarmed, Tessa asked what was wrong. Mariah said, apparently things were fine now, but Dominic needed a bone marrow transplant from Devon. Tessa said first Devon took on an expanded role in Dom’s life, and now he was helping Dom heal. She knew it was just biology, but it also seemed like a sign to her. Tessa thought Mariah didn’t seem happy. Mariah was happy Dom would be okay, but she didn’t understand why Abby and Devon didn’t tell her about her godson’s illness until after the fact. Tessa assumed they had their reasons. Mariah said Abby stated that she didn’t even tell the family, because she didn’t want to worry people unnecessarily. Tessa understood that, and she thought the most important thing was that things worked out. Mariah was thrilled Dominic was okay, and she said that Abby and Devon did spare her from panicking. Tessa said they’d visit Dom as soon as they could. Tessa shifted gears and said she took Noah’s suggestion to heart, and she thought they should combine their ideas to make the perfect wedding.

Mariah wasn’t sure what combining their top three ideas would even look like. Tessa pictured it including art, music and possibly costumes. Mariah asked where they’d get married. Tessa said they’d keep it local, surround themselves with art they loved from Chicago museums, and they’d get one of their favorite bands to play. Mariah asked about the murder mystery. Tessa thought that theme seemed too dark for a celebration. Mariah asked how they’d set this apart from other weddings, because every wedding had music and decorations. Tessa suggested they choose a time period based on their favorite art and dress according to that style – like a Mod influenced wedding featuring outfits worn in 1960s London. Tessa sensed Mariah hated it. Mariah didn’t hate it, but she didn’t think this was quite the right plan for them. She knew things would eventually come together, and they’d have the best wedding.

Mariah thought it might be good if everyone had a role in their wedding, maybe that would make them appreciate the day more. Tessa gently suggested that Mariah should stop talking. Mariah realized Tessa thought she was over-complicating things. “Only in a way that makes me love you more,” Tessa replied. Mariah said they had to trust that whatever they did would be spectacular. Tessa was sure it would be. Tessa thought about all the false starts, and all the times they got in their own way, which she took most of the blame for. Mariah said she was responsible for some of their breakups too. Tessa said they found their way back to each other, because they were destined to be together. They were beyond lucky, and as much as she wanted the wedding day to honor their guests, she wanted it to be about how much she and Mariah loved each other. Mariah agreed 100%, and she also thought Tessa just accidentally wrote a song that needed to be titled “Beyond Lucky.”

Rey walked into Crimson Lights, explaining that he’d just come back from the station. Nick wasn’t there anymore. Mariah and Tessa came downstairs and said they had an announcement. Mariah said they realized the specific ways they loved each other and how they wanted to express it. Tessa stated that this was an announcement that an announcement about their wedding was impending. Mariah said they needed their wisdom and expertise. Sharon, Rey and Noah all said supportive things.

Nick went back to Newman Media and told Adam that he’d changed his mind about not wanting to be involved. Adam didn’t have any news. He’d kept Victoria busy while Victor confronted Ashland, but she’d gotten fed up and insulted him. It had been hard for Adam to bite his tongue instead of throwing Ashland’s lies in Victoria’s face. Nick noted that Adam respected Victor’s wishes instead of doing that.

Update written by Joseph

Eli comes home to a candle light dinner that Lani has set up. Eli asks how she had the time. Lani says she got lucky with the twins going to sleep early. Eli then reveals that he first must make a confession that he lied to her.

Paulina receives roses at home and reads the card, assuming it’s from Abe, but finds out they are from T.R.

T.R. is in his hotel room, finishing a call to make sure his flowers were delivered. He remarks that he had a feeling that this film would change his life, but he had no idea just how much. TR declares that he owes Johnny.

Allie asks if Johnny is going to say anything like congratulations. Johnny claims that he is happy for her but he’s curious to find out if she told Tripp before accepting his proposal, that she slept with Chanel. Tripp asks what the hell he’s talking about. Johnny guesses she didn’t tell him and says “my bad”.

Craig doesn’t know what is holding up his boyfriend as he has no texts or messages. Chloe points out that it’s only been a few minutes. Craig decides to text him again, assuming there must be traffic. Brady agrees. Chloe points out that she doesn’t even know the guy’s name. Brady looks over and sees Leo Stark. Craig asks how he knew as Sonny’s ex, Leo, comes over wishing a Happy Valentine’s Day as he and Craig kiss, leaving Brady and Chloe in shock. Craig introduces Leo to Chloe, who reveals she already knows of him. Chloe says they haven’t officially met but she’s heard all about Leo from Brady. Craig questions how they know each other. Leo reveals they go way back and for a minute, they thought they were brothers. Leo mentions kissing Brady in the past. Craig had no idea they all knew each other and calls it a small world. Chloe questions Leo never mentioning that he once lived in Salem. Leo claims they just haven’t gotten around to sharing everything about their past yet and that his time in Salem was not that memorable. Brady remarks that Leo had so many adventures here which Craig questions.

Tripp says this is a new low for Johnny to be spreading rumors about his own sister. Johnny responds that it’s not a rumor but a fact. Tripp tells him to grow up and find something else to do besides making trouble. Johnny argues that Allie and Chanel have been lusting after each other for months and can barely keep their hands off each other. Tripp argues that they kissed twice a long time ago. Johnny reveals that recently, they did a lot more, since after he dumped Chanel, Allie went over to comfort her and ended up in her bed. Chanel declares that everything Johnny just said is a complete and total lie.

TR remarks that Johnny wasn’t lying that this town really is full of surprises. Paulina shows up at his door with the flowers he sent. Paulina walks in and drops the flowers to the floor, smashing the vase.

Leo apologizes to Craig for not telling him that he once lived in Salem and says he doesn’t like to talk about it because it has unpleasant memories for him. Brady adds that there’s also the people he terrorized which Leo questions. Brady is not too comfortable going in to this in front of Craig but Craig and Chloe tell him to go ahead. Brady informs Craig that Leo is responsible for making his family’s life a living hell. Leo argues that he’s exaggerating but Brady disagrees. Chloe agrees that Leo tried to bring down Brady’s family business with a bogus lawsuit. Craig questions if that’s true. Leo says it’s not the whole story and in the end, he was the victim. Brady brings up Leo listening in on his personal business calls to try and sell Titan secrets to Stefan DiMera. Brady informs Craig that his brother Paul did a deep dive in to Leo’s past and found out that Leo has been involved in scam after scam, so it looks like Craig is his latest mark.

Lani questions what Eli lied about. Eli informs Lani that he told her that he went to see Doug and Julie, but he went to see T.R. because he had to put him on notice that if he messed with Lani or Paulina, he would have to deal with him. Lani appreciates him looking out for her but says he didn’t have to. Eli feels it’s his job to protect her. Lani asks how T.R. took it. Eli responds that he seemed to get the message, so he thinks TR knows that from now on, he better treat them with respect.

Paulina tells T.R. that she wants him to stay away from her and her family. T.R. apologizes for showing up at Lani’s unannounced but says after realizing that she was his child, he couldn’t help himself. Paulina argues that what he did was unacceptable. TR admits it was the wrong approach which is why he sent the flowers, to apologize. Paulina points out that there was no apology on the card. TR feels it was implied. Paulina informs him that his apology is not accepted. TR doesn’t want to upset her. Paulina tells him to leave town then. TR reminds her that he can’t do that because he’s shooting a film and he wants to get to know his daughter. Paulina warns him about hurting Lani. TR remarks that he doesn’t think he could possibly hurt Lani any more than Paulina already has.

Tripp is confused, asking if Allie didn’t go to Chanel’s that night. Chanel confirms that she did as she was a wreck that night. Chanel claims that Allie comforted her, they talked, she put her to bed and left. Johnny remarks that it’s a much different story from what he overheard them talking about in the town square and how they got down and dirty in between the sheets. Johnny thinks Tripp has heard enough to know that he’s telling the truth. Johnny claims that he thought Tripp deserved to know before he married Allie. Johnny remarks that Allie accused him of being a player. Chanel pleads with Tripp, but he says he wants to talk to Allie alone.

Chloe tells Craig that she’s sorry but Brady is right that Leo is a con artist. Leo tells Craig not to listen to them. Chloe and Brady insist that Leo is using Craig. Leo argues that Craig is brilliant, charming, and funny. Craig calls this uncomfortable to take in. Leo tells Craig that only his opinion matters to him. Leo apologizes for not being more forthcoming as he didn’t want to scare him off but he insists he’s not like that anymore and that he wants to be a better person because of him. Leo asks if Craig believes him. Brady is afraid there’s a lot more for Craig to take in as he reveals that a couple months ago, Leo was involved in a major scam in Arizona where he double crossed the ISA to get his hands on a stolen gem stone. Leo admits that’s true but right after that, he met Craig, who cares for him more than anyone has in his life and that’s why everything has changed.

Lani asks Eli what he thought of TR and if he thinks he’s a changed man. Eli says it’s tough to tell as he was only with him for a few minutes. Eli understands Lani has a lot of complicated feelings but right now he thinks they should focus on them which Lani agrees with. Eli toasts to Lani working a full shift today, getting the kids down early, and still preparing a wonderful meal. Eli says he’s in awe of her as he wishes her a Happy Valentine’s Day. Eli turns on music on his phone and asks Lani to dance.

Paulina reminds TR that the only reason she lied about being Lani’s mother was to protect her from him. Paulina says it kills her that she hurt Lani by keeping that a secret. TR reveals that he was talking about Price Town. Paulina questions how he knows about that. TR informs her that he did some research as he wanted to learn more about his daughter and he came across Paulina’s plan to bulldoze the Horton Town Square which is a tribute to Lani’s husband’s family. Paulina argues that she realized her huge mistake, called off the entire project, and apologized to each person she hurt. TR questions them all forgiving her which Paulina confirms. TR says that gives him hope that if Lani could forgive Paulina for such a huge betrayal, maybe she could do the same for him.

Chanel follows Johnny back to the town square and questions what is wrong with him and how he could do that to his sister. Johnny responds that all he did was tell the truth. Chanel argues that Johnny made it sound like they were having some torrid affair. Chanel cries that she was a mess that night because of what Johnny did to her and then she and Allie got caught up in the emotion. Johnny mocks that it was still cheating.

Tripp notes that Allie was quiet before and let Chanel do all the talking. Allie didn’t know what to say. Tripp thinks she owes him the truth. Allie turns away. Tripp tells her to just talk to him. Tripp asks if Johnny was lying. Tripp asks her to just be honest with him as he asks again if Johnny was lying. Allie turns back to Tripp and admits Johnny was not lying. Allie then reveals that she did sleep with Chanel. Tripp recalls calling Allie that night and she said she was going home. Allie says that she was but Chanel was a mess and she couldn’t leave her alone. Tripp questions if the only way to make her feel better was to have sex with her. Allie cries that they were lying in bed and it just happened. Tripp brings up the next morning, he called her again and she told him that she was home. Tripp recalls wanting to come see her but she said she was on her way out to go check on Chanel, but she was already with her. Allie admits that she spent the night but she woke up and felt so horrible and guilty. Allie hated lying to him and wanted to come clean. Tripp points out that she didn’t. Allie says she went to the hospital and was going to tell him but she didn’t want to hurt him. Tripp says she shouldn’t have slept with Chanel then. Allie argues that she loves him so much and it was a mistake. Allie adds that she wouldn’t have said yes to his proposal if she didn’t love him. Allie insists that he is the one that she wants to be with and marry. Tripp tells her that she can’t seriously think they are still getting married.

Chanel questions why Johnny didn’t say anything earlier if he knew that she and Allie hooked up. Chanel complains that instead of telling her what he overheard, he gave her this big speech about how they could still be friends. Chanel asks why he would do that. Johnny guesses he just got caught up in the spirit of Valentine’s Day. Chanel argues that he pretended that he wanted to get along with her and then he just blows everything up. Johnny says that he saw Tripp about to make the biggest mistake of his life, so he had to do something. Johnny remarks that he does know what it’s like to suddenly realize you married the wrong person. Chanel tells Johnny that she’s going to take him for everything he’s worth. Chanel declares that by the time she’s finished with him, he will wish he had never been born.

Paulina argues that she had planned to tear down a beloved landmark while TR abused her, physically and emotionally, for years, so they are not the same and he can’t compare her betrayal to his. Paulina says he was a monster. TR agrees that what he did was reprehensible and he’s truly ashamed. TR blames the drugs and drinking for turning him in to somebody he didn’t recognize. TR says he was on a downward spiral and didn’t even know it. TR adds that after Paulina disappeared, it got worse as he ended up in prison for using his clients’ money to buy drugs. TR declares that once he got caught, his whole life fell apart. Paulina asks if she’s supposed to feel sorry for him. TR says no because that’s when he finally realized that he needed to turn his life around. TR adds that hitting rock bottom was the best thing that ever happened to him.

Leo says that after the stolen Peacock, his life took a nose dive as he was lonely, depressed, and forced to take a thankless job at medical conventions. Leo talks about how Craig happened to come to his booth when he was dressed as a chipmunk, handing out free nuts. Leo says they had a couple laughs and he felt an immediate strong connection, like he had finally found his soulmate. Craig admits the same. Leo says that Craig was honest from the get go that he had a wife but it was clear to them that his marriage was a lie and he was denying who he really was. Chloe accuses Leo of coercing Craig in to cheating on her mother. Craig says he just wanted them to meet but now he sees it wasn’t a good idea and it’s not working out, so he apologizes. Chloe tells Craig that it’s not his fault. Leo understands Chloe being skeptical of him, given his track record. Leo tells Chloe that she’s very fortunate to have a strong relationship with her father because his father was an abusive pig, who used to tell him that he was worthless and that he’d never mean anything to anyone. Leo says hearing that over and over again creates a hole in your heart, so he tried to fill that with fancy things to make the pain go away but it didn’t. Leo declares that nothing made it go away until he met Craig and then he was finally happy for the first time in his life. Leo adds that not a moment goes by that he doesn’t appreciate how lucky he is. Brady decides he’s had enough and warns Craig that Leo is a predator. Leo calls that an unfair and cruel accusation. Brady says it’s true and adds that he hasn’t even gotten in to what Leo did to Sonny. Leo tells them to go somewhere else since it’s Valentine’s Day and he and Craig want to celebrate alone, not hearing some angry, self-righteous people distort the truth and tell them why they shouldn’t be together. Brady tells Craig that he’s telling him because he cares about him. Craig thinks Leo is right that it’s time this conversation ends, they leave, and they will talk about this later. Chloe cries that they don’t want Craig to get hurt and questions how he can’t know that. Leo asks Craig not to listen to them as what he feels for him is real and this is not a scam. Leo insists he’s left all of that behind him because for the first time in his life, he’s honestly and truly happy because of Craig. Chloe argues that Leo is playing Craig and he needs to wake up and end this farce of a relationship.

Tripp questions Allie thinking that he would still marry her after she cheated on him. Allie argues that they can get through this and she’ll do whatever it takes to make it right. Tripp guesses she thinks he’s the world’s biggest chump and that she can just walk all over him. Tripp brings up that Ava warned him that Chanel was a threat but he just pushed aside all of his doubts and insecurities, to believe and trust in Allie and this is where it got him. Tripp remarks that he must have deserved to have Allie cheat on him. Allie argues that he did nothing wrong but Tripp says he must have because in the end, she chose Chanel over him.

Johnny tells Chanel that she’s not getting a dime out of him. Johnny reminds her that his family is loaded but he’s not. Chanel tells him to tell her lawyer. Johnny says he will and he’ll also tell him that she committed adultery with his sister. Johnny wishes her luck convincing a judge that she’s the victim. Chanel calls him a creep and can’t believe she ever loved him. Johnny asks if she did love him or if she was just enjoying the perks until she could get with his sister. Chanel calls him disgusting and walks away. Johnny calls out, asking if they are not hooking up tonight.

Paulina questions TR being glad that he was in prison. TR tells her that it saved his life because if he kept going as he was, there’s no doubt he would have overdosed but prison got him off that path. TR says he stopped using drugs and went to therapy. TR adds that it took a lot of hard work but he started at the bottom and climbed to the top. Paulina asks about him being a Hollywood big wig now. TR says he’s had a great deal of success but he’s never been able to enjoy it because he was always weighed down by the guilt that he feels over how he treated her. Paulina argues that he should feel guilty. Paulina declares that she’s moved on with her life and doesn’t need to listen to this. TR talks about there being so many times that he wanted to track her down to apologize but he never wanted to upend her life. TR declares that now, fate has brought him back to her and he finally has the chance to make things right, if she lets him.

Craig appreciates Chloe and Brady’s concern, but he thinks this conversation is over for the time being. Chloe asks if anything they said got through to him. Craig admits some of it is upsetting, but they all do things in their past that they aren’t proud of. Craig adds that he’s done something that he’s sure is very close to what Leo did. Chloe asks if he’s talking about the Mike Horton thing. Craig explains to Leo that years ago, he was desperate to be chief of staff so he manipulated a mentally unstable woman to file sexual harassment charges against Mike Horton. Craig says it ended in disaster and he deeply regrets it, as he’s sure that Leo regrets what he’s done. Leo says if he could turn back time, he would. Craig says it’s about now and they don’t have to focus on the past, just what they have together. Chloe rolls her eyes as Craig declares he’s committed to Leo. Craig is sorry that she doesn’t agree but this is his life and he’s never letting Leo go.

Paulina questions TR thinking it’s that easy after how he hurt her, to make it all better by sending flowers. Paulina then flashes back to when she sent Lani flowers and Lani rejected them. TR asks what it is. Paulina responds that she just realized that it’s possible that she might be a bit of a hypocrite. Paulina tells TR that true forgiveness has to be earned and that takes time. TR vows to put in whatever time it takes because no one as wonderful as her has ever come in to his life. TR admits that instead of honoring and treasuring her, he threw it all away. TR says that regret has stayed with him over all these years. TR then declares that he never got over Paulina and he doesn’t know if he ever will.

Eli and Lani get out of bed to have cake. Chanel then shows up at their door. Lani asks what she’s doing here. Chanel says she needed to talk to someone and can’t deal with her mom right now. Chanel remembers it’s Valentine’s Day and says she’ll go but Lani says it’s fine. Eli agrees and asks what happened. Chanel responds that it’s Johnny. Lani asks what he did now. Chanel reveals that it’s not what he did, but what she did with Allie.

Allie repeats that Tripp is the one she wants to be with and says she’ll keep saying it until he believes it because it’s the truth. Tripp argues that it’s a lie that she’s been telling him and herself because clearly the person she wants to be with is Chanel. Allie promises that sleeping with Chanel was a one time thing that will never happen again if he could just find it in his heart to forgive her. Tripp asks how he could ever trust her again, pointing out that he’d still be in the dark if Johnny hadn’t said something. Tripp declares there is no coming back from this. Tripp tells Allie that it’s over and they are done.

Devil Johnny returns home to the DiMera Mansion and remarks that he may not have gotten lucky tonight but screwing with those losers was almost as satisfying. Johnny tries to fight against the Devil with his voice from inside, saying he can’t do this and he needs to stop hurting the people that he loves. The Devil jokes that Johnny is awake. Johnny complains that he has to let Chanel know that he still loves her and he would never hurt her like this. The Devil asks how he plans on doing that. Johnny responds by getting rid of him. The Devil laughs that he would like to see him try as he then begins getting a stomach pain.

Chloe tells Craig that he’s making a huge mistake. Craig says that’s enough. Chloe argues that she’s trying to knock some sense in to him. Chloe asks if Craig wants Leo to break his heart like he broke Nancy’s. Chloe guesses that’s what he wants and declares that she’s done. Chloe and Brady then exit together.

TR tells Paulina that he knows he doesn’t have the right to ask, but he would love the chance to make it up to her and to get to know his daughter. TR says she doesn’t have to say anything but think about it. Paulina says she better go and apologizes for the mess. TR tells her that she never has to apologize for him. Paulina clarifies that she’s sorry to the house keeper. TR calls it his mess so it’s on him to clean it up. Paulina then exits.

Chanel informs Lani and Eli about her and Allie sleeping together. Eli asks what Tripp thought. Chanel says she hasn’t heard and worries that she screwed everything up for them. Chanel guesses they must think she’s a terrible person. Lani assures that they don’t and that Chanel didn’t mean to hurt anyone. Eli wonders what the hell is up with Johnny.

Johnny struggles with the Devil inside. The Devil says he’s wasting his time as he’s no match for him. Johnny cries that he’ll never give up as he won’t let the Devil keep hurting the people he loves. The Devil warns Johnny to stop fighting him or he’ll go upstairs and slaughter his little cousins in their sleep. The Devil declares that Johnny’s love for Chanel and Allie is much stronger than he anticipated but it’s too bad they will never find out just how much Johnny cares.

Allie tells Tripp that she loves him with her whole heart and asks him for another chance. Tripp instead asks for his ring back because it belonged to his great grandmother and he wants it back. Allie hands it back to him and apologizes. Tripp says he’s sorry too and walks away. Allie sits and breaks down crying.

Recap written by Christine

At Crimson Lights, Nikki thought about Victor telling her that Ashland allegedly paid the clinic to alter his medical records. Victoria arrived, ending Nikki’s flashback. Nikki asked Victoria how she and Ashland were. Victoria said everything was fine. Nikki wanted Victoria to join her, but she said she had to go back to the office.

Ashland was on the phone at Newman Locke. He learned that Michael was the American who’d been snooping at the clinic. Ashland instructed the caller to keep tabs on Michael and to find that doctor ASAP. He ended the call, with a sigh. Victoria returned with coffee for Ashland, since he’d been up and out so early. He thought they needed something stronger to celebrate. His new contract had been drafted, making him co-CEO of Newman Locke. She was surprised it was finished so soon. He said he had the lawyers put a rush on it, because he’d come to realize every second mattered. She said that the contract didn’t change anything because they were already equal in every way, and they didn’t have to rush to dot all the Is and cross all the Ts. He’d been here early, and he’d looked over the contract, and he was ready to sign right now. She seemed hesitant, and he asked if she’d changed her mind.

Ashland said he didn’t want Victoria to feel pressured. He stated that their relationship was the most important thing in the world, and he was willing to give her time, or leave things as they were if she didn’t want to change things. She said the original agreement was drawn up because, at the time, they were worried about his health, and now he was in remission. She thought he should be her equal in business, like they were in marriage. Nikki walked in and heard Victoria say Ashland would be co-CEO. Nikki thought Ashland was happy as an advisor. Ashland said he was feeling better now, and he was ready to take a stronger hand here. Nikki thought Ashland already had a strong hand here – she’d seen the deference the employees treated him with. He said he needed the employees to respect him the same way they respected Victoria. Nikki asked if this was the right way to go about it. Victoria said it was the right thing to do, and it wouldn’t change Nikki’s role. Nikki made it clear that she already felt secure here. She was just surprised because Victor didn’t mention this. Victoria said they didn’t feel the need to tell him.

Nikki didn’t think that Victoria should do this without talking to Victor. Victoria said that this was her decision to make, and hers alone. Nikki said Victoria had done such an amazing job controlling the company Victor built from nothing, and he’d always been her strongest advisor, so the least she could do was let him know what she was planning. “You owe him that much,” Nikki said. Victoria guessed that was right. Nikki hoped Ashland wasn’t offended, she said that she wanted him to be around for a long time, because he made her daughter happy. Ashland acted like he was just fine with it and he said he wanted the blessing of all the Newmans. Nikki thought that was wise. She noted that Victor had been Ashland’s biggest defender, through all the crises they’d faced, so why would this be different. Ashland said this wasn’t a crisis, it was a celebration of his recovery. Ashland excused himself to attend to some things. Victoria asked Nikki why she was troubled. Nikki said she was fine, just tired. Victoria asked what was going on. Nikki was adamant that Victoria needed to talk to Victor. Victoria said she would. Nikki made it clear that she would tell Victor what was going on if Victoria didn’t. In the hallway, Ashland texted asking for an update on the doctor and asking where Michael was. Ashland then talked to a Dr. Reilly, who asked if Ashland had given anyone permission to look at his medical records. Ashland said no.

Victor was in the hallway of Newman Media when he received an update from Michael. Michael spoke with a second doctor at the clinic and learned something big. He was sending Victor evidence. Victor walked into the office, and Adam asked what was going on with Victoria and Ashland. Adam said he couldn’t help if Victor wouldn’t let him in on what was going on. Nick arrived, and Adam asked why he was there. Nick stated that Victor commanded him to come. Victor announced that he had some news that would change everything. It related to the Newman empire and the family. Nick thought Victoria should be here if it was about the family and the business. Adam said this was about Victoria and Ashland. Victor said they had to protect the family and Victoria. Nick asked why he was just hearing about this. Victor said he was waiting for confirmation from Michael, who was in Peru. Nick didn’t want anything to do with digging up dirt on Ashland. Victor said to trust him. Nick said the last time he trusted Victor and investigated Ashland, it hurt his relationship with Victoria, and it never recovered. He didn’t want to risk making it worse by going down that path again.

Adam asked if Nick wasn’t the least bit curious. Nick learned his lesson. Nick was surprised Victor was investigating Ashland, since he’d been Ashland’s biggest champion. Victor revealed that he’d never really trusted Ashland. Nick said he’d been left out of conversations about Ashland, and he asked why he was being included now. Victor learned things about Ashland that were shocking and repulsive and would affect the entire family. Victor said Ashland was using the clinic in Peru as a shell company. A doctor who used to work at the clinic testified that Ashland paid someone to falsify his medical records. Adam and Nick asked why Ashland would lie about being in remission and give Victoria false hope about how much time they had. Victor told his sons they were missing the point. Ashland was never sick at all.

Nick asked if Victor had proof Ashland faked his cancer, because they couldn’t destroy Victoria’s life on the word of a disgruntled employee. Victor Michael ran into another physician at the clinic who corroborated everything the first doctor said. Nick thought Victoria went to NY with Ashland, after his diagnosis, where he then received confirmation that he was terminally ill. Adam said Ashland got chemo in Genoa City. Victor said that was how nefarious and deep Ashland’s deception was. Adam said that meant the doctor in NY had to be in on it. Victor reminded everyone that Ashland never wanted anyone to go to his appointments with him. Adam noted that Ashland suddenly asked Nate to be his best man. He asked if Nate was in on the scam. Victor didn’t think Nate as involved. Adam asked what Victor was going to do. Victor said he had enough evidence to deal with Ashland.

Adam asked why Ashland would go to such extremes – did he do this to win over Victoria? Victor said it was far worse. He believed Ashland was playing a long con on Victoria to get power and control over Newman Enterprises and Locke Communications group. Adam asked why Ashland would resort to faking cancer, when he was almost as good at making deals as Victor. Victor said that the cancer made people feel sorry for Ashland – everyone fell for it, except Nick. Victor said he’d had his doubts from the beginning. Nick wasn’t happy he was right about Ashland. “He took advantage of Victoria’s love for his own greed and financial gain. I’m gonna kill him,” Nick said. Victor understood Nick’s anger, and he felt the same way. Victor said Ashland infiltrated their family and was threatening the empire Victor built. Nick said forget the empire, what about the damage to Victoria. Victor said they were part and parcel of the same thing. Victor thought they needed to tread carefully, because this would devastate Victoria. Adam didn’t know they’d do anything without upsetting Victoria. Victor said he’d handle this his way.

Billy arrived at the Abbott house at Jack’s request. Jack’s text said it was a family matter, so Billy asked why Phyllis was here. Phyllis said she was supporting Jack as a friend. Ashley couldn’t be there, so Jack was going to fill her and Kyle in as soon as he had more answers. Jack said it was about Keemo, and Billy asked if he was okay. Jack was afraid not. He explained that he’d gotten some mysterious texts encouraging him to go to an address in LA. Phyllis tried to help him get to the bottom of it, and they learned that the address was owned by Hao Nguyen. That was Keemo’s grandfather’s name, and that was also the name Keemo adopted for himself. They did some digging, and they learned Keemo died three weeks ago. Billy was sorry, and he asked if Keemo was ill. Jack revealed that he hadn’t heard from Keemo in years. Billy was surprised because every time he asked about Keemo, Jack had claimed he’d been in contact with him. Jack admitted he’d misled Billy. He rehashed the story about Keemo resenting him for hiding Luan’s illness. Even though Keemo and Jack made peace before Keemo left town, Keemo’s anger grew, and he cut Jack out. Jack had held onto hope that Keemo would come back to him, so Jack never told anyone about the breakdown of the relationship. Jack was leaving for LA later today. Billy assumed it was for the funeral, and he decided to go too. Jack didn’t know if there was going to be a funeral. All he had were the texts and the address, Keemo’s home, and that was where he was going to start. For Keemo’s sake, Jack was going to follow this wherever it lead.

Billy was sorry Jack felt the need to cover things up and paint this rosy picture for all of them. Jack said he also painted the rosy picture for himself, because it was less painful. Billy wanted to go to LA to support Jack. Jack didn’t want Billy to be involved, because he didn’t know what awaited him in LA. Billy thought that was all the more reason he should be there. Billy knew the pain Jack was going through, and he wanted to be there for Jack. Jack felt that he needed to do this alone. Traci was in agreement with Billy. She felt he’d kept his family at arm’s length for too long. She also wanted to go to LA. Billy thought he and Traci should both go with Jack. Phyllis thought she should go too. Traci said she and Billy both knew what it was like to lose a child. Jack was appreciative, but he didn’t want Traci or Billy to go, because he didn’t want his loss to compound theirs. Billy said that he and Traci could handle it, and they needed to be there for him.

Billy didn’t want Jack going anywhere alone. Jack accepted that and said he’d take Phyllis, because she’d been instrumental in this. Billy said Phyllis wasn’t family. “This is what I need to do. This is what is best for me,” Jack said, and he left the room to pack a bag. Phyllis knew Jack’s siblings were upset he chose her, but she said that she had his best interests at heart. Traci knew how much Phyllis cared about Jack, but she also knew Jack and Phyllis’ relationship had been on tenuous ground for months now. Traci asked if Phyllis could please set that aside while Jack grieved. Phyllis understood that Jack was fragile. She thought that it would help him to get to the bottom of this mystery. She promised she’d take care of him. She left to pack for the trip.

Traci and Billy felt bad that Jack had been suffering alone for all this time. She knew it must’ve been devastating for him to live with the secret that Keemo cut contact. In hindsight, Billy realized that Jack had been almost too quick to answer questions about Keemo, like he was shutting down the conversation. Traci felt terrible because she didn’t notice Jack was hiding something. As a writer, she was obsessed with language and the use of words, so why didn’t she notice Jack was being perfectly vague? Billy said all they could do now was be there for Jack. Traci said they both knew the hell that was headed Jack’s way, and it was going to hit him hard. Billy wanted to know more about the text messages. Traci said this unidentified person was telling Jack that he should come to LA, where he’d find a world that he never knew existed and that he’d be sorry if he didn’t come. Billy didn’t like this. Traci agreed, but she said Phyllis had been pushing Jack to pursue this. Billy thought taking Phyllis was a bad idea – she was Phyllis, and trouble followed her. Traci didn’t know that they could change Jack’s mind. She felt helpless, but she decided the one thing she could do was go get some food for Jack’s trip. Billy said he’d stay at the house, so Jack wouldn’t be alone. Shortly after Traci left, Jack came downstairs.

Brother to brother, Billy asked if Jack was sure about this. Jack said he could handle the trip. Billy noted that Jack didn’t know what he was walking into. Jack needed answers about these last years of his son’s life, for closure. Billy didn’t think you could get closure after the death of a child. Billy understood Jack needed answers, and he hoped he found him. Billy said if Jack needed him, he’d get on the next flight. Jack knew he could always count on Billy. Billy wanted Jack to be careful and to make sure Phyllis had his best interests at heart, not her own. Jack trusted Phyllis implicitly, she’d proven time and again that she had his back, and that was why he was taking her with him.

Traci went to the hotel to see Phyllis. A guarded Phyllis said she wasn’t going to let Traci talk her out of accompanying Jack on this trip. Traci actually came to say she was grateful Phyllis was going with Jack. Phyllis was surprised to hear that. Traci understood why Jack preferred to take Phyllis over his siblings. Traci said she and Billy had lost children, so they understood what it was like, but Jack was on the edge. She thought the wall he’d built around his feelings for Keemo could come crashing down at any moment. She thought he sensed that and he was terrified. Traci believed that, on some level, Jack knew he wouldn’t be able to handle it if this situation reignited Traci and Billy’s grief over losing Colleen and Delia. Traci said Jack needed his reserves for what he was going to face, and as much as she wanted to be there for Jack, she though it was better if he didn’t have to worry about her feelings and could focus on his own. Phyllis thought it was nice of Traci to look out for her brother. Traci was counting on Phyllis to give Jack what he needed. Traci knew there was a mystery to be solved, and she said Jack couldn’t have picked a better partner to help him get to the bottom of it. However, first and foremost, Traci wanted Phyllis to take care of Jack and protect his big heart.

Traci and Phyllis went back to the house. Traci gave Jack some food for the trip and told him to keep in touch. He said a lot would be going on, so he might not be great at phone calls. Phyllis said she’d keep Traci updated. Billy told Jack to stay on guard. Jack said he wanted to find out the truth about the texts, and even if he didn’t get closure, he wanted to find out more about the man his son became. Phyllis and Jack left.

Days of Our Lives Update

Update written by Joseph

Brady joins Chloe at the Bistro with a rose and wishes her a Happy Valentine’s Day. Chloe starts to remind him that this isn’t a date but Brady explains that a kid was selling roses outside so he just bought it to help out. Chloe thanks him for the rose and for joining her tonight as she really appreciates it. Brady assures that he’s here to support her and lend a hand. Brady asks how she’s feeling about meeting her dad’s new boyfriend. Chloe admits she’s a nervous wreck.

Craig finds Tripp outside and comments that he has a romantic setup and looks like he has some big plans for Valentine’s Day. Tripp informs him that he’s planning to propose to his girlfriend.

In the town square, Chanel asks Allie what she’s going to do. Allie says she doesn’t know and points out that she’s not even supposed to know that Tripp is proposing tonight but his mom spoiled the surprise. Chanel points out that now Allie does know, so she should probably figure out an answer for when he asks her to marry him. Chanel asks Allie if she’s going to say yes.

Ben and Ciara talk about how Johnny delivered their cross, the cross keeps turning upside down, and Johnny was at Marlena’s exorcism. Ciara points out that Johnny has been acting strange lately. Ben asks if they think the Devil just jumped from Marlena to Johnny and that now Johnny DiMera is possessed.

Johnny tells Gabi that they say pride goes before the fall and they need to screw Jake before he screws them. Johnny then asks if Gabi has any Valentine’s Day plans.

Allie tells Chanel that she’s still trying to process this. Chanel decides she shouldn’t have asked and that Tripp should be the first one to hear her answer. Allie tells her that she deserves to know since she is her best friend and has been with her throughout this entire relationship. Allie admits that she’s caught off guard since they never even talked about marriage. Chanel points out that it is Valentine’s Day. Allie knows a lot of people get engaged on Valentine’s Day but she did not think it was her time. Chanel asks if she’s thinking that she might say no. Allie says she’s just not sure and asks Chanel if she thinks she is ready.

Craig tells Tripp that it could go either spectacularly right or wrong. Craig recalls proposing to his wife thirty years ago and calls it a moment to remember forever. Craig asks if he’s making it harder on him. Tripp jokes that he is a little bit but he’s managed and now he and his wife have been together for 30 years. Craig then reveals that he and his wife are in the process of splitting up. Tripp says it’s sorry to hear that. Craig calls it a difficult situation. Craig informs Tripp that tonight, his daughter is supposed to meet his boyfriend and he’s a nervous wreck about it.

Brady understands Chloe is nervous about tonight but notes that Craig has to know it’s awkward for her, so she’s allowed to feel however she needs to feel about it and Craig will just have to deal with it. Chloe worries about whether or not she will like the guy. Chloe feels like if she does like him, it’s betraying her mom. Brady says there is nothing wrong with wanting both of her parents to be happy. Brady asks what Nancy is doing tonight. Chloe says she left her in her hotel room where she is watching old movies on Peacock and acting very depressed. Chloe mentions convincing Nancy to order room service. Brady encourages that Nancy is tough and will get through this. Chloe knows it will take time. Brady asks if Nancy knows about this dinner. Chloe says no as she kind of wanted to tell her but she didn’t know what to say.

Johnny asks Gabi if she wants to go upstairs since Jake shouldn’t be the only one closing deals. Gabi thinks they should keep their mind on business. Johnny says he’s very good at multi-tasking. Gabi prefers to stay focused on DiMera and Titan. Johnny points out that it’s Valentine’s Day and they aren’t with someone they love. Gabi asks if they should just love the one they are with. Johnny asks who said anything about love. Gabi asks if it’s just meaningless sex then. Johnny responds that sex with him is far from meaningless. Johnny argues that Jake is plotting against her and Chanel is trying to clean him out, so they both deserve to have a little fun.

Ben and Ciara talk about the Devil being in Johnny. Ciara wonders if the Devil just wanted them to think he was gone but instead just found a new host body. Ben calls it unbelievable but Ciara points out everything else they have been through. Ben says that would explain why the cross kept flipping upside down, because Johnny delivered it and the Devil would do anything to break through the protection. Ciara talks about Johnny showing up at Julie’s and then all of a sudden a fire burst out to stop Julie from delivering the cross and leaving Johnny to deliver it while making sure their brand new home has the mark of the Devil. Ben says if Johnny has really been The Devil the entire time, they’d have to retrace all of his steps to find the damage he’s already done. Ciara points out that this is still just a theory. Ciara declares that after coming face to face with the Devil, it may be easy to see him everywhere else. Ben thinks it makes sense. Ciara asks if they have any more evidence. Ben talks about Jake telling him about the big party for Johnny and Chanel’s wedding where they broke up as if Johnny created this big scene to humiliate Chanel. Ciara wonders why he would do it in public. Ben adds that Jake said Johnny has been hitting on Gabi now. Ciara says that would make Johnny a player and a garbage human being but doesn’t necessarily prove he’s The Devil. Ciara suggests Jake could just be a jealous boyfriend.

Jake goes to the Kiriakis Mansion to see Maggie, who asks what he’s doing here. Jake says he came to see what’s going on and that he got her message. Maggie questions what message. Jake says she sent him a message a little bit ago and said it was urgent. Maggie reveals that she hasn’t seen her phone since she misplaced it yesterday so she didn’t send him a text. Maggie informs him that she did speak to Victor regarding what they talked about which Jake questions. Maggie says she relayed the terms of their agreement and Victor had some questions. Jake says he will have to get back to her on that because he has to go look in to something as he exits the mansion.

Johnny tells Gabi that he knows this hasn’t been easy for her as she put her faith in Jake and he let her down while letting her think he loved her. Johnny says he can only imagine how disappointing it must be for her. Johnny promises he won’t disappoint her in business or anywhere. Johnny suggests they go upstairs and make it a Valentine’s Day to remember. Gabi says she’s sorry but she can’t as she’s just not ready to go that far yet. Johnny asks if she’s not ruling it out. Gabi says they will see how this meeting goes. Johnny questions her leaving him here all by himself. Gabi is sure he’ll be fine but she wants to go prepare for the meeting. Gabi reminds Johnny that he is still married as she hurries out of the mansion. Johnny remarks that he doesn’t like being rejected or left alone, so he asks what’s a horny devil to do with himself.

Craig tells Tripp that he never expected to be in this situation as for the longest time, he convinced himself and his wife that they had a great marriage. Craig admits that Nancy is very angry at him now and his daughter was completely blindsided. Tripp points out her being willing to meet his boyfriend. Craig notes that she agreed but worries that it’s unfair that he asked her. Craig wonders if he should claim to have food poisoning and call off the whole thing but Tripp says that may not be the best idea. Craig admits it would be postponing the inevitable. Craig doesn’t know why he’s confiding in Tripp but he was nervous and needed to talk to someone. Craig says that Tripp is very kind and he appreciates that, but he should let him get back to his plans. Tripp says it’s okay and he understands he’s going through a lot. Craig thanks him and encourages him to stay in that good mood. Craig advises Tripp that if he feels nervous then it’s worth doing. Craig wishes Tripp good luck. Tripp says the same to him as Craig walks away. Tripp looks at his ring with a smile.

Chanel tells Allie that she’s not the best person to give advice on marriage considering how hers have worked out. Allie says the Xander marriage doesn’t count and it’s not her fault that Johnny is the worst. Chanel says she chose to marry him and had no doubts. Allie then gets a text from Tripp to meet her. Allie wonders if this is it. Chanel says it looks like Allie has a question to answer. Chanel says no matter what she decides, she loves her as they hug. Chanel then walks away looking uncertain.

Jake goes home to Gabi, who asks what Maggie wanted. Jake informs her that Maggie didn’t want anything as apparently she never sent that text. Gabi questions what he’s talking about as she saw the text herself. Jake says they both saw it but Maggie claims she lost her phone and hasn’t seen it since yesterday. Gabi says it makes no sense. Jake says unless it does as he thinks Johnny stole Maggie’s phone and sent him that message.

Chanel walks through the town square and comes across Johnny, who wishes her a Happy Valentine’s Day. Chanel questions what is so happy about it. Johnny is sure they can figure something out and asks if she wants to get a drink. Chanel questions him wanting to grab a drink with the woman he just dumped, on Valentine’s Day. Johnny gets that she’s still upset and says she has every right to be angry with the way he treated her, but they had fun together. Chanel claims not to remember. Johnny says he always loved being with her and just because they are getting divorced doesn’t mean the fun has to stop.

Brady and Chloe continue to prepare to meet Craig’s new boyfriend. Chloe thanks him for dealing with her mess tonight. Brady says he’s happy to support her and calls it an interesting situation. Chloe asks if he thinks it’s interesting that he has to spend his Valentine’s Day holding her hand because she’s freaking out. Brady reminds her that last year on Valentine’s Day, he was in the hospital, recovering from a gunshot wound so this is better than that. Chloe recalls almost losing him. Brady says he’s here and he’s good with no bullet holes. Brady calls this a much better improvement. Chloe points out that they’ve had some nice Valentine’s Days in the past. Brady can’t think of one as only disasters come to mind. Brady recalls not being able to get a reservation in Vienna. Chloe says they made it work and reminds him of the outdoor cafe with a string quartet. Brady recalls it freezing and snowing. Chloe brings up remembering how Brady kissed her that night. Craig then arrives interrupting them. Craig hugs Chloe and says he’s glad she is there. Craig asks if Brady is meeting someone for Valentine’s Day. Chloe explains that she invited Brady to join them tonight if that’s okay with him.

Chanel questions why the hell she’d want to go anywhere with Johnny. Johnny asks why they wouldn’t still be friends and questions when things got so nasty between them. Chanel guesses that he’s just worried about her lawsuit and coming for his money. Johnny remarks that his family is rich but that doesn’t mean he controls any of it. Johnny points out that Chanel couldn’t even pay her rent for awhile. Johnny says if she thinks this divorce is going to turn in to a big payoff, she should think again as the only people getting rich are the lawyers. Chanel says she’s done with this. Johnny tells her that she can’t avoid him as they both live in Salem and she’s business partners with his sister and much more. Chanel tells him to leave Allie out of this. Johnny asks if they can figure this out without lawyers and invites her to go talk somewhere.

Gabi questions Jake as to why Johnny was pretending to be Maggie. Jake suggested he wanted alone time with Gabi. Gabi calls it an elaborate scheme, knowing Jake would figure it out as soon as he got there. Jake admits that it doesn’t make much sense but asks if Gabi has any other theories. Gabi responds that the other theory is Jake’s lying. Gabi then says she knows he has no reason to lie to her so they can take that out. Jake argues that it would benefit Johnny to shake things up. Gabi doesn’t know what Johnny has to gain by Jake going to the Kiriakis Mansion. Jake asks what Johnny said to her after he left. Gabi claims nothing and that she told him she would contact him when she came home. Jake doesn’t trust Johnny. Gabi says she knows but they don’t have to be partners for life with Johnny, just long enough to call this meeting and once they have his shares, they can be CEO of DiMera and Titan. Gabi asks if he’s sure that’s what he still wants. Jake says of course but he really wants them to stop talking business as he kisses Gabi.

Ciara tells Ben that Jake thinking Johnny is trying to take Gabi away from him doesn’t make him the most credible observer, but admits they are still red flags. Ciara says if there’s a chance that The Devil is still in Salem, they need to know about it fast. Ciara thought this was over and they would be safe. Ben promises he won’t let anything happen to their baby and he’ll do everything in his power to protect them both. Ciara brings up Johnny being Marlena’s grandson. Ben doesn’t want her to cause Marlena more pain. Ciara feels there has to be a way to figure this all out without getting Marlena involved. Ben says he’s not thrilled with the solution but suggests talking to Susan Banks.

Tripp sets up his picnic table with lights and a candle. Allie arrives and asks if he did all this for her. Tripp jokes about event planning. Allie calls it a beautiful night, perfect to be under the stars. Tripp thought it’d be more private than in a restaurant. Allie says this would make any girl feel special and it’s beautiful. Allie kisses him and thanks him. Tripp says he was planning on waiting until after their meal but now he realizes there’s no way he can wait that long, so he’s just going to. Tripp pulls out the ring and says he’s never been happier than when he’s with her. Tripp talks about how they both came out of the darkest period of their lives and pulled each other back in to the world. Tripp says she gave him life and hope, so he wants to spend the rest of their days, trying to make her as happy as she’s made him. Tripp declares that he wants to be her husband and Henry’s father. He wants them to be a family. Tripp gets down on one knee and proposes to Allie. Allie says yes, so Tripp puts the ring on her finger and they kiss.

Chanel tells Johnny that her mom said she should stay away from him and let the lawyers handle things. Johnny asks if she wants to turn their lives in to some messy court battle. Chanel admits it’s not. Johnny suggests they go somewhere to talk or go back to her place or his but Chanel says hell no. Johnny asks what’s wrong with his place. Chanel responds that she’s never going back to his place again. Chanel says that if they are going to talk, they have to do it somewhere a bit more private than the middle of the town square. Johnny points out that there’s no one here now. Chanel says that could change at any minute, so she tells Johnny to follow her.

Gabi pulls away from Jake, so he asks what’s wrong. Gabi says she’s just a little distracted and wants to check on Rafe since she never found out what happened in court and she wants to find out how his first day of trial went. Gabi opens her laptop and finds out that Rafe’s accuser testified and Melinda caught Nicole trying to tamper with a witness.

Craig is glad Chloe invited Brady since he knows how close they are and how difficult it might be for Chloe to meet the new man in his life. Chloe admits she’s a bit nervous and thought Brady could keep her from saying or doing something she shouldn’t. Craig admits he’s been nervous too but realized he has nothing to worry about. Craig assures that the guy he’s been seeing will put them at ease since he’s funny and finds humor in every situation. Craig says that the guy is very kind and he’s sure that he will love them and they will love him.

Gabi worries that this is really bad for Rafe. Jake encourages that it’s just the first day of trial. Jake tries to kiss Gabi but she pushes away and says she can’t do this right now. Jake complains that it’s not now or apparently ever. Gabi asks what that means. Jake argues that it’s Valentine’s Day and she’s been acting weird all day. Gabi claims she hasn’t. Jake points out how he covered the bed in roses and bought her chocolates. Jake adds that she’s been acting all day like she doesn’t care about him unless she’s being openly hostile. Gabi questions him having to ask when her brother is on trial for his life. Jake asks if she’s sure that’s what this is about. Gabi asks what else it would be. Jake says he doesn’t know but it seems personal. Jake asks if they are okay. Gabi claims they are great and says she needs to go find some answers as she walks out of the room.

Ciara asks Ben what Susan Banks knows about Johnny being possessed. Ben thinks she has a sixth sense about this kind of thing since she warned them about The Devil in the first place and recognized that Marlena was possessed before anyone else. They agree that Susan might be the one who would be able to sense if the Devil is still in Salem. Ciara points out the issue that Johnny is Susan’s grandson so she would do anything to protect him and she doesn’t know how happy Susan would be to get a phone call from them, accusing her grandbaby of being The Devil.

Tripp and Allie sit together and eat cake. Tripp talks about being engaged and says she will soon be his wife as they kiss. Chanel and Johnny approach. Chanel apologizes and says she didn’t know they were there. Chanel tells Johnny they can go somewhere else but Allie stops her and questions what she’s doing with Johnny. Chanel says that Johnny just wanted to talk about the divorce. Johnny notes the romantic setup and asks what they have going on out here.

Gabi goes to the police station and sees a Valentine’s bear with a rose, causing her to think back to Jake waking her up with a rose. Gabi says it doesn’t make sense that Jake could betray her like this.

Jake paces in his room and almost throws his box of chocolates in frustration, but stops and eats one instead.

Craig asks how he knew as Sonny’s ex, Leo, comes over and hugs Craig, wishing him a Happy Valentine’s Day, leaving Brady and Chloe in shock.

Ben starts to call Susan but Ciara remains unsure if it’s a good idea because she could warn Johnny. Ben says they have to hope Susan does the right thing unless she has a better idea. Ciara reluctantly agrees and asks what he’s even going to say to her. Ben calls Susan but it goes to voicemail. Ben leaves a message to call him back when she gets it as he has something pretty important to talk to her about. Ben hangs up and worries that he panicked. Ciara guesses Susan might be out with Roger for Valentine’s Day. They decide they won’t get any answers tonight and will just have to wait. Ciara hopes they are just jumping to conclusions and that The Devil is out of Salem for good. Ben assures that they will get through it and deal with it together either way as they kiss.

Allie and Tripp announce to Chanel and Johnny that they are engaged. Chanel congratulates them and says that she is happy for them. Johnny thinks back to overhearing that Chanel and Allie slept together. Allie asks if Johnny is going to say anything like congratulations. Johnny claims that he is happy for her but he’s curious to find out if she told Tripp before accepting his proposal, that she slept with Chanel.

Recap written by Christine

Devon and Amanda kissed each other good morning. She was off to a meeting with Lily and Billy. Devon said he was meeting with Lily today too. He wasn’t sure what his sister wanted to discuss, but she’d sounded excited when she called. Devon got a text from Abby letting him know how well Dom was doing. Devon replied thanking Abby for the update and saying he was going to visit later. Amanda knew it had been hard for Devon to put on a brave front. Devon wanted the baby to spend at least a couple of days at the penthouse once the doctor said it was okay for him to travel. Amanda thought Devon had been more than reasonable suspending the custody agreement while Dom was sick. She thought it was time to get back to normal footing. He said it was incredible to think about how much Dom had gone through in his young life. He asked what she thought about Dom coming to stay a little more often. He knew she was starting a demanding job, so he asked if that was asking too much. She said she’d supported him getting shared custody, and she was willing to fight to make sure it happened, so no one understood better than her how much family meant to him. She always knew he’d want to spend every minute building a life for Dom, and that was what she wanted for him and for Dom.

Imani came over, and Devon asked if she was coming to the meeting. Imani came to strategize with Amanda about how they’d step in as Chancellor’s legal counsel. She didn’t know anything about a meeting. Devon thought that Lily wanted to talk to him about the podcasts they were starting. Amanda said Lily asked her to tag along as legal counsel. She promised to fill Imani in later. Even though Imani was just associate counsel, she thought it’d make sense for her to go too. Amanda didn’t think that was necessary. Imani said she could bring another set of eyes and ears to the meeting, and she wanted to get a sense of how Lily functioned in a work environment. Amanda accepted this, and they all left.

Billy was in a bedroom at his condo trying to record the first episode of his podcast. It got off to a rough start, due to nerves and inexperience. Once things seemed to be progressing, Billy realized that he forgot to press record, and he called himself a dumb-ass. He started again, and he couldn’t get the hang of what he wanted to say. He started to feel like the podcast was a waste of time and as if he didn’t have anything insightful to say.

Lily was on a video chat with Jill. She said she invited Devon and Amanda over to discuss Lily’s proposal. Jill said that Lily had exceeded her expectations in every way, and if she could make this proposal happen, it’d be a game changer for Chancellor Industries. Jill’s support was meaningful to Lily. Lily knew how huge this would be, if she could pull it off. Jill and Lily ended the call as Billy walked in and asked what was going on. Lily asked about the podcast. Billy told her how badly it went. He wasn’t sure he had anything worthwhile to say. She was sure he did, since she’d heard his recording. He said there was nothing flowing, and he was starting to wonder if he was a one hit wonder. She suggested he wait until after midnight to record. He was still feeling unsure about the whole thing. She gave him a pep talk and a kiss.

Lily told Billy about her proposal. He said no one would ever accuse her of thinking small. She hoped Devon would be excited. Billy thought it was an epic move, and he believed it said a lot about Lily that Jill gave her the go-ahead to do this. Lily said she didn’t tell Billy about this before, because she was concerned Jill would nix the idea. Lily had expected Billy to be wowed by her idea, and he wasn’t, and she asked why. He said he was, and she didn’t buy it. Before he could respond, Devon, Amanda and Imani arrived. Lily asked about Dominic, and she and Billy were pleased to hear he was doing well. They got to the point for the meeting. Lily said Devon’s acquisition of Mergeron was a big risk that paid off. She noted that Hamilton Winters was a much smaller company than Chancellor. She said Chancellor had resources that Devon could tap into to bring his company to a larger scale. Hamilton Winters could also open doors for Chancellor, because H-W generated a lot of content, and it had a younger demographic. Amanda thought the venture into podcasts was the best way to explore the reciprocal benefits. “Why stop there?,” Billy asked. Lily said Neil wanted her and Devon to work together, and they did for awhile, but it didn’t go as planned. She proposed bringing the companies together – Chancellor Winters.

Devon was caught off guard, and he wasn’t sure what to say. He asked if she really wanted to make such a big move right after becoming CEO. Lily stated that Jill loved the idea and said she regretted not thinking of it herself. Imani asked if the companies would remain autonomous or would it become a wholly defined entity, in which case how would they define their roles? Lily said they could work that out later. Imani felt that these critical issues needed to be considered up front. Amanda said this was just a preliminary discussion between Lily and Devon. Imani was going to object, and Amanda quieted Imani by reminding her that she was supposed to be the eyes and the ears.

Devon said he had total autonomy at Hamilton Winters. He loved the idea of working with Lily, which was why he agreed to do the podcast project. He thought they should focus on that and see how it went. Lily said she was talking about doing something on a much larger scale, with limitless possibilities. “Don’t forget, you’re a Chancellor too,” she added. Devon didn’t forget, but he didn’t know if this was the right move for him. His company was in a great place, and it took a long time to get there, and Dominic had health issues, and Devon didn’t feel like this was the time to make such a big change. Lily was disappointed, but she understood. Devon loved Lily and admired her for thinking outside the box. The guests began to leave, and Lily said to giver her nephew a hug for her. Once Lily was alone, she picked up Neil’s picture. She know how he’d feel about the merger and her wanting to come together with Devon. She promised she wouldn’t give up.

Billy was back upstairs recording his podcast. He said Lily was a rock star who came up with big ideas that change the world. One of the reasons he loved her was that she startled him in the best possible way. He said that her idea to merge Chancellor with her brother’s company was genius. He said Devon and Lily would run a powerhouse family enterprise, and that was Lily’s dream. “A dream that I don’t factor into because I’m not family in any meaningful sense. And so here I am on the outside looking in. Again. The story of my life,” Billy said.

Back at their place, Devon asked Amanda what he thought about Lily’s proposal. Amanda thought Devon raised good points about the timing. She said this was a big complicated deal, and it’d change a lot of things. He knew, and he noted that if he took this deal, he wouldn’t be the boss of his own company anymore. Amanda thought she could picture a plan that would let Lily and Billy share responsibilities while maintaining control of what they already did. She said this would be big, complicated and messy, but that was what families were like. She knew she didn’t have much experience with families, but she knew what he’d told her about Neil. When she thought about turning Chancellor Industries and Hamilton Winters into a cohesive family business, it sounded pretty wonderful to her.

At the Abbott house, Traci checked on Jack, who was adjusting to the loss of his son, Keemo. Jack was having a hard time wrapping his head around the fact that Keemo was gone and they’d never be able to make peace. He’d been going over the correspondence and documents going back to the time Christine and Paul sought Keemo out. When Jack first learned he’d had a son, it’d felt like a miracle. Jack thought about the last emails when Keemo said he wanted nothing to do with him, he didn’t want to be an Abbott, and he was changing his name to Nguyen. Phyllis came to check on Jack and asked if she could do anything for him. “Can you bring my son back?,” he blurted out. He apologized, and she told him it wasn’t necessary.

It was so hard when Keemo slammed the door on Jack. Jack had held out hope that Keemo would come back to him in time. It didn’t happen, and now Keemo was gone without Jack ever really getting the chance to be a father to him. He wasn’t sure how to grieve. Phyllis told Jack there was no rule book – he could feel how he felt. Traci said there was no timetable either. She likened the situation to their grief over Dina’s death. Jack said this was different because they knew Dina was ill, and they had time to prepare. Phyllis told Jack that no one would judge him for the situation with Keemo. She said that the blame, shame and regret wouldn’t help. He wasn’t sure anything would. He read the last email from Keemo again. Keemo didn’t want anything to do with Jack, because he was angry Jack hid Keemo’s mother’s illness.

Jack was almost in tears. Traci tried to commiserate because she knew what it was like to lose a child. Jack didn’t want to equate his loss to Traci’s. He noted that Traci shaped and raised Colleen, and they had a beautiful bond built for years. Jack, on the other hand, didn’t even know Keemo existed until he was an adult. Traci told Jack that everything was relative – he was grieving, and this was a tremendous loss. Phyllis said they had to find out who sent those text messages – who would want Jack to find out about Keemo this way, and who would send such creepy cryptic texts about something so personal.

Phyllis noted that one of the texts said “come to LA there’s something you’re missing.” She wondered why someone who wanted to tell Jack that his son was dead would use that tone. Jack said it could be someone who was a total sociopath. Phyllis said there was no evidence of that, but it was worth looking into. This piqued Traci’s writer’s imagination. Phyllis said this texter knew Hao Nguyen was Keemo Volien Abbott, and they also had Jack’s phone number. Traci was worried someone was trying to mess with Jack.

Phyllis thought there had to be more to this than someone wanting Jack to know about Keemo. She suggested that there was a mystery surrounding Keemo’s death. Jack pointed out that the obituary said it was a heart attack. Phyllis knew, but she suggested something happened in Keemo’s life that this person wanted Jack to know. Traci asked why this person wouldn’t just say what they wanted to say instead of sending these texts like it was a treasure hunt. She thought it was cruel. Jack said he had to do something, because he needed answers about Keemo’s life. Traci wanted Jack to take a step back. Jack responded to the text asking who this person was and why they were sending him this information.

Get to Los Angeles. The answers are there,” the person replied. Phyllis thought it was clear that Jack needed to go to L.A. but Traci didn’t agree. She thought some scammer was trying to take advantage of Jack’s grief. She said anyone with good intentions would identify themselves. She told him to let it go. Phyllis argued that Jack couldn’t let it go. If it were Phyllis getting these texts, she’d be on the first flight to LA. Traci said Jack wasn’t impulsive like Phyllis. Jack felt like he had to follow up on these texts even if they lead him nowhere. Traci was worried Jack would get hurt. He said his heart was already broken over Keemo. The questions weren’t going to go away, and if there were answers to be had, he was going to find them.

Amanda was supportive when Devon said he wanted Dominic to spend more time at the penthouse. Billy had trouble coming up with material for his podcast. With Jill’s approval, Lily suggested that she and Devon merge Chancellor Industries and Hamilton Winters. Devon wasn’t ready to do something like that. Imani talked Amanda into bringing her along to the meeting with Lily, Devon, Billy and Amanda. Imani ruffled Amanda’s feathers when she spoke out of turn at the meeting. Lily told Neil she wasn’t giving up her plan to merge the companies. Billy thought to himself that Lily’s idea was genius, but if she and Devon were running a powerhouse family business, Billy would be on the outside looking in, because he wasn’t family.

Traci and Phyllis were there for Jack, as he worked through his feelings surrounding the death of his estranged son, Keemo. Phyllis thought Jack needed to go to LA and figure out who was sending him those cryptic texts and how this person was connected to Keemo. Traci didn’t want Jack to go, because she was worried this was a scammer. Jack decided that he wanted to seek answers. He sent a text to the mysterious person, and they told him again to come to LA. Update written by Dustin

Anna and Drew locate the crashed cars that have been abandoned by Maxie, Felicia and Peter. Peter catches up to Maxie as she flees the scene. He tells her to turn around and come with him or he’ll shoot her. Maxie tells Peter she would rather die than live her life with him. Peter raises the gun to shoot Maxie, but Felicia comes from behind him and strikes him in the head with the tire iron from the rental car. Peter falls down an embankment and comes to rest on his back in the snow. Maxie and Felicia rush down to secure the gun Peter had in his possession as Anna and Drew arrive on the scene. Anna tells Maxie, Felicia and Drew that they can go on ahead, and she’ll wait for the ambulance. Peter begs Maxie to stay with him and tells her that he can’t feel his legs. However, the three of them do as Anna has requested.

Anna kneels down beside Peter as Peter realizes that Anna never placed the call for an ambulance. Anna intends to let Peter die from his injuries. Peter reaches up, and Anna takes his hand as he draws his last breath. Anna then closes his eyes, checks for a pulse and bursts into tears. She then rejoins the others, who are waiting back at the crash scene for the police. Felicia notices something is off with Anna, so she questions her. Anna reveals that she never called for an ambulance. Felicia says that Peter was a monster and that she agrees with Anna’s decision. Felicia phones Mac at General Hospital to let him know that she has found Maxie and that Peter is finally dead.

Brook Lynn and Chase take Bailey (Louise) to General Hospital to see Mac. While there, they share their first kiss. Afterwards, Brook Lynn seems troubled.

Sonny and Carly meet in Carly’s office with their respective attorneys to negotiate the terms of their divorce. Both Sonny and Carly want the divorce to be amicable and without a lengthy, courtroom battle. However, they immediately have a disagreement over who will keep their main house – where Donna and Avery reside. Sonny refuses to let Carly have it, but after a private chat between the two of them, Sonny relents and agrees that Carly having the house will probably be better for the girls. He is upset with himself that he has done permanent damage to the family. An agreement is reached and both parties consent to allowing the attorneys to draft the final divorce papers.

Sonny leaves Carly’s office, very upset, and goes to Charlie’s bar for a drink. He runs into Brando, who notices he looks like he could use someone to talk to. Sonny confesses that he and Carly are filing for divorce, and he tells Brando that he should make a grand gesture to Sasha. He suggests that Brando take her away to Niagara Falls for a romantic weekend getaway.

Sasha calls an after-hours business meeting with Nina and Lucy. She wishes to discuss some new ideas about their company. While at Kelly’s for the meeting, she runs into a former associate, and it’s revealed that she used to provide Sasha with drugs back when she was an addict. The dealer offers to hook Sasha up, but Sasha politely tells her she is not an addict anymore.

Brando arrives at Kelly’s and breaks up the ladies’ meeting a bit early. He asks Sasha to go away with him to Niagara Falls, and Sasha agrees. Later, after Brando leaves, Sasha goes back into Kelly’s and asks the drug dealer for something that will help her get through the next few days.

Meanwhile, at Kelly’s, a conversation between Trina, Esme and Josslyn gets nasty, with Josslyn accusing Esme of being jealous that Spencer bought Trina a gift before leaving for his incarceration. Trina feels slighted because Josslyn used her to make her point that Esme’s attempts to get into Trina’s good graces are less than genuine. Trina storms out of the restaurant angrily after telling Josslyn that everything is fine between them. Esme is furious and prepares to leak the sex tape that she made of Josslyn and Cameron in bed during their weekend getaway at Sonny’s cabin.

Back at General Hospital, Britt and Austin discuss what will happen between Austin and Maxie when Maxie returns to Port Charles.

Sonny prepares to leave Charlie’s and is clearly inebriated, but he convinces himself that he’ll be fine because his place is “not that far away.” As he prepares to leave, Nina arrives at the bar. She has obviously checked the many voice messages that Sonny has left her while in his inebriated state.

Young & The Restless Update

Y&R logo

Recap written by Christine

Phyllis visited Jack at the Abbott mansion. He was scouring his last emails from Keemo for clues. Phyllis let Jack know she was there for him. He read an email from his son aloud. “How many times do I have to tell you to leave me alone? I don’t want anything more to do with you. I will never forgive you for hiding my mother’s illness from me. You are nothing to me.” Phyllis said Keemo was just speaking in out of pain and loss. Jack said he reached out to Keemo so many times and never got a response. Phyllis suggested that Keemo was sending these texts hoping to make amends. Jack was afraid to hope, but he wanted to know if this was Keemo.

Phyllis did some searching, and she saw that Hao Nguyen owned a lot more properties than the one in the text Jack got. He asked how she knew it was the same person. She didn’t, but she’d done some cross referencing, and she thought it was. Jack was also online searching, and he was alarmed to run across an obituary for Hao Nguyen. Phyllis wasn’t surprised, since Jack said his father in law had died a long time ago. Jack pointed out that Keemo had taken his mother’s maiden name. Maybe Keemo also adopted his grandfather’s first name. Jack was worried that this was an obituary for his son.

Phyllis didn’t want Jack jumping to conclusions. She said it was a generic obituary, a common name, and there were no survivors listed. Jack noticed that the birth year was the same as Keemo’s, and it said this man died of a heart attack three weeks ago. That was the same time the texts started coming in. Phyllis said it could be a coincidence. Jack was panicking, but he wanted to believe Phyllis was right. Phyllis assured him that she’d get the information. Phyllis kept searching websites. She scrolled through a memorial site, and Jack spotted Keemo’s photo on it. His eyes filed with tears.

In the Grand Phoenix suite, Adam still wasn’t sure if he’d gone too far with Victor. Sally asked if she should continue to work on the merger or if he was still considering leaving Newman Media. He asked if she remembered when they were talking in bed yesterday. According to Adam, Sally had said all the things he’d been feeling, but he couldn’t quite articulate – that Victor made his job contingent on doing Victor’s bidding, not merit. Hearing Sally say that filled him with righteous anger, and it made him realize all the things he’d wanted to say to his father. He then went on to say those things. She asked if he thought she steered him in the wrong direction.

Adam said he wouldn’t gain anything from leaving Newman Media. It would only feed into the narrative that he was reckless and impulsive. She said those weren’t always the worst qualities. He added that it would also send the message that he shouldn’t be taken seriously. He thought it was clear that Ashland and Victoria planned to push him aside as soon as the merger went through. He decided to go on the offensive and make Victoria and Ashland fail. He said he’d tell Victor that he’d keep an eye on Ashland. But Adam wouldn’t be doing this for Victor’s sake, he’d be doing it for his own.

At Newman Media, Victor told Victoria that Adam had second thoughts about staying at Newman. Victoria said she did as Victor asked and kept Adam on, but she couldn’t make him stay, and she didn’t want a top executive who wasn’t fully committed. Victor told Victoria to smooth things over with Adam. Victor wanted Victoria to make Adam feel respected. Victoria balked about soothing Adam’s fragile ego, and Victor said part of being CEO was dealing with the entire executive staff, including people who disagreed with you. Victor wanted Victoria to pass the message on to Ashland. Victor was unhappy Ashland told Adam he’d be keeping him on a short leash, and if Adam didn’t like it he could quit. Victoria thought Ashland was just setting boundaries. Victor snapped that no one set boundaries for his children except him.

Victoria said she showed up in the middle of Ashland’s talk with Adam, so she knew what was said. Victor asked if Victoria denied that Ashland reined in Adam at every turn. Victoria said Adam was testing his boundaries, and Ashland let him know that he had autonomy within reason, but he answered to Ashland and Victoria. She noted that she’d signed off on Adam’s first major decision – hiring Sally, which was a questionable decision, at best. She asked what the problem was. Victor didn’t like Ashland disrespecting Adam. He reminded Victoria that Adam helped her wedding from blowing up. Victoria didn’t think that justified giving Adam a free pass. She was happy her wedding wasn’t derailed, but she was sure Adam did that to prove his loyalty to Victor. She said Adam was rewarded because she kept him on at Newman Media, which would become a larger division once the merger went through. She grumbled that Adam went crying to daddy because his feelings were hurt. Victor said that wasn’t what happened. She thought Adam came back into Newman Enterprises and was bitter he wasn’t running it anymore. Victor reiterated that Victoria should smooth things over with Adam and make him feel welcome, for the good of the company.

Nikki came in after Victoria left. Victor confided that he’d heard some disturbing news about Ashland. Nikki was exasperated that Victor kept digging into that poor man’s life. Victor clarified that he had an email from a Peruvian doctor who said Ashland paid a substantial amount of money to falsify his medical records to make it look like he had cancer. Nikki asked how reliable this doctor was. Victor said Michael, one of the sharpest legal minds, found the testimony credible. Nikki said this could be a disgruntled ex employee looking for money or attention. Victor had considered all that, and Michael was continuing to investigate. Nikki refused to let Victor alienate Victoria by stirring up trouble in her marriage when they didn’t even know this was true. Victor said he was going to handle this with discretion for Victoria’s sake. Adam arrived.

Nikki left. Adam apologized to Victor and said Victor was right – it was hubris talking earlier. Adam was going to stay on at Newman Media. Victor asked if Adam talked to Victoria today, and he said no. Adam assumed Victor told Victoria to smooth things over. Victor said he wanted to protect the family and bring everyone together. Adam said he wasn’t going to spy on Ashland for Victor. Victor said Adam no longer needed to do that. Victor said there were things going on at Newman Locke that he was observing carefully. Adam asked if this was about Ashland. Victor said he believed he was right about Ashland. The most important thing though, was that Victor could count on Adam, because all hell was about to break loose.

At Newman Locke, Ashland was on the phone having a tense conversation with someone. He wanted that damn doctor found before he caused any more damage. He demanded to know how the person on the other end of the call allowed this to happen. “Allowed what to happen?,” Victoria said as she walked in. He tricked her into thinking there was a problem with the contract language in the Newman Media acquisition. She wanted to get involved, but he said it was a minor thing that he was handling. She was surprised it was minor since he’d sounded so heated on the phone. He said he was just trying to light a fire under the person. He said that if she wanted, he’d show her the issue with the contract. She said no, because she was sure he’d ask if he needed her help.

Ashland said that when he and Victoria merged the companies, he was focused on cementing his legacy. Due to his illness and treatment, he couldn’t make significant contributions here and be a real partner to her. Now he felt so much stronger, and he was ready to immerse himself into the powerhouse they were building. He’d been trying to carve out a place where he could make more of a contribution. He said they were both used to being the heads of their own corporation. Now, he was an advisor, and she was CEO, and he was ready to do more. He said they were in love, and they were working side by side in a company that bore both their names. He wanted to be co-CEO. She asked if his title really mattered. He said it mattered to other people. He lied and said he was being stern on the phone earlier because the legal department was giving him a hard time about making a small change in the contract. Victoria said she’d go talk to legal and get things straightened out. Ashland said he needed to be respected on his own, and that a title would do that. It would also send the message that he wasn’t an old man on his way out.

Ashland could tell Victoria didn’t like the idea of him being co-CEO. He asked if she had a problem with sharing the title and work, and she said no. Her eyes filled with tears, and she said she was worried that it might worsen his condition. She’d been through this with him, and she didn’t want him to push himself. She was concerned they’d undo all the progress they’d made. He said he was optimistic about his condition, but he knew the reality, and he didn’t believe he’d been magically cured. He felt better right now, and he wanted to live what was left of his life to the fullest extent. She wanted him to stay healthy. He said when he worked, he felt more like himself, and he felt in control.

Ashland sensed there was more to Victoria’s hesitancy. She admitted that this was also about the title. Her father put it in her head that she needed to be wary of Ashland because he was getting stronger, as if he might be some kind of threat to her or the company. Ashland said Victor was wrong. Victoria knew, and she wasn’t going to pay attention to what Victor said. She wanted to be partners in every way, so she said she’d have the contracts drawn up right away. She was still concerned about his health, and she was sorry she hesitated. She loved him. He loved her too. They hugged.

Devon and Amanda were still at Chance and Abby’s. The baby slept through the night. Chance and Abby noted that the doctor said the first couple days were critical. Abby was glad he was in the comfort of his own home. Devon was glad they had the resources to set up the nurseries with equipment and hire a private nurse. Chance took Devon aside and said he’d cover the price of the medical transport when the doctor said it would be okay for Dom to visit Devon. Devon said it wasn’t necessary, but Chance wanted to do this, because they were in this together. Chance felt it was the least he could do since Devon donated marrow and gave Dom such a wonderful gift. Chance knew how much Devon loved their son and that he’d do anything for the baby. Chance would do the same. Nate and Dr. Alston arrived to examine Dominic. Chance and Abby talked in private. He was worried for Dominic, and he hated that he hadn’t fully been there for him while he was dealing with his own issues. He was finished trying to convince himself he could manage this on his own. He’d also decided to get professional help. She was supportive.

Devon hoped Dom would be okay, and Amanda said that Dom had been a fighter since birth, and now he had a part of Devon inside of him, helping him fight. The doctors came downstairs and said Dom was doing extremely well. Dr. Alston said they’d be on the lookout for side effects and infections. After Dr. Alston left, Amanda and the three parents started heading toward the nursery. Nate stopped them and stressed that they had to take precautions because of the risk of infections. He told them to limit their visits. Chance told Abby to go first. Nate said the three parents working together for the welfare of their child was beautiful.

After the guests left, Chance called Sharon and asked if they could meet today to talk about finding him a therapist. She asked if he was sure he wanted to meet today – she heard he had a few rough days. He said he wanted to do it today for his family and for his son. Sharon came by. She asked about Dominic and commiserated about having a sick child. She had a list of good therapists. Chance said Dom needed him to be more of a father than he had been lately. Abby said they needed some guidance, and she understood Sharon didn’t think she should counsel Chance since she was so close to the situation. Chance explained that he didn’t think he had that internal thing parents felt – Devon and Abby had it though. Sharon admired Chance for wanting to be a better father and husband, and she was sure those things would happen for him. She told him to remember that reaching out for help was a sign of strength. Abby walked Sharon out. When she returned, she overheard Chance scheduling an appointment for as soon as possible.

Amanda, Devon, Nate and Elena went to Crimson Lights. They brought Elena up to speed. Elena thought Dom was the luckiest child to have three concerned parents. Devon thanked Nate for having the doctor make a house call. He liked having a doctor in the family. Nate broke the news that, after a lot of soul searching and a lot of long talks with Elena, he made the decision to leave the medicine for the business world. Surgery was Nate’s passion, but he didn’t enjoy the administrative side. He thought it was good that he was making a change instead of accepting that this was the best he could expect things to be.

Nate said Ashland sparked his decision to make a career move. He explained that he and Ashland hit it off after Nate helped him through a rough moment with his illness. Amanda noted that Ashland flew Nate and Elena to Tuscany on his private jet. Nate knew he and Ashland were unlikely friends with very different life experiences. Ashland convinced Nate that this move would be an exciting challenge. Devon wondered why Nate didn’t come work for Hamilton Winters, since Neil put him on the board – he could be at the family business. Nate said Lily offered him a job at Chancellor Industries. Nate appreciated the offer, but since Ashland got the ball rolling, Nate thought working with him would be the best move.

Update written by Joseph

Ben hangs a painting for Ciara at their new apartment. Ben jokes about wanting to be done with this so they can celebrate Valentine’s Day. Ciara tells him that the painting is perfect, just like him as they kiss.

Nicole waits outside of Rafe’s trial. Melinda arrives so Nicole stops her. Melinda guesses she’s going to tell her that Rafe is innocent. Melinda informs her that she just heard the same thing from Abe and Shawn. Nicole says they are right. Melinda questions why three unconnected people accused Rafe of planting evidence then. Nicole responds that those three people are connected by the person who told them to lie; Ava Vitali.

Allie walks through the town square and finds Ava crying. Allie asks her what’s wrong and why she’s crying. Ava responds that she just had a huge fight with Rafe and Nicole, revealing that her boyfriend cheated on her with her best friend.

Tripp is at the hospital, looking at the ring he got for Allie. Tripp thinks back to telling Ava that he planned to propose on Valentine’s Day. Chanel approaches and greets him. Tripp asks if everything is okay. Chanel informs him that she came to see him but guesses that he’s busy. Tripp says he’s actually on his lunch break now. Chanel hoped that he could help her as it’s about Johnny.

Johnny offers Gabi a Valentine’s chocolate to take her mind off it. Johnny guesses that cherry is her favorite as she accepts the candy. Gabi says the candy is still not enough to make her forget that she wants to kill Jake. Johnny assures that they will screw Jake together and then after that, she can kill him. Gabi can’t believe Jake used the DiMera legal department to try to take her shares when she inherited those shares from Stefan. Johnny takes her to the couch and tells her to have another candy and to remember that soon, they will be the ones doing all the screwing…

At the police station, Jake calls Gabi, leaving a message questioning where she is since she said she was coming to the station for Rafe’s trial but Rafe said she was never there. Jake tells her to call him and hangs up, wondering where the hell she is. Jake then thinks back to seeing Johnny’s texts to Gabi about wanting to see her later. Jake then declares that he knows exactly where Gabi is.

Gabi tells Johnny that what he’s saying makes perfect sense but she’s just having a hard time. Johnny reminds Gabi of what she heard “Jake” saying to Maggie about betraying her and seeing his signature on the forms. Gabi doesn’t want to believe it but decides there can be no other explanation.

Ben and Ciara kiss until feeling the baby kick. Ben suggests Ciara get off her feet. Ciara decides they both should as they kiss onto the couch. They kiss until there’s a knock at the door. They try to ignore it but it’s Julie, who says she saw their cars outside so she knows they are in there. Ciara helps Ben get his shirt back on as she then answers the door. Julie asks if it’s a bad time. Ciara claims they were just unpacking boxes. Julie points out that Ben missed a button on his shirt. Julie says she likes the place and it looks much nicer with all their things inside. Julie compliments the painting they hung and looks around the place, noticing that the cross that she sent is not hanging outside, so she thought it would be inside. Julie makes sure that Johnny delivered it and guesses they don’t like it. Ciara assures that it was wonderful but there’s a tiny problem with it.

Melinda tells Nicole that Ava is nothing but pragmatic and self serving but now questions her saying that Ava is setting up her boyfriend, protector, and landlord for a crime he didn’t commit. Nicole suggests she asks Steve and Kayla how Ava reacts when losing at love. Melinda questions if Ava has lost at love. Nicole confirms that Ava and Rafe have broke up. Melinda asks if Ava knows that because she’s been standing by her man. Nicole informs her that it just happened. Melinda guesses it was Nicole that got between them. Nicole responds that her private life is none of her concern. Melinda goes over Nicole suggesting that Ava spent the last few months setting up this scheme. Nicole explains that she and Rafe think that Ava knew about them awhile ago and was just biding her time. Melinda points out that Nicole doesn’t have actual evidence while she has two eye witnesses willing to testify that Rafe is a dirty cop. Melinda tells Nicole to let her know if she comes up with something more but she has a case to prosecute. Melinda then heads in to the court room.

Allie thinks back to Nicole telling her that she slept with Rafe. Allie asks Ava if she’s sure. Ava confirms that they just admitted it and rubbed her nose in it. Allie feels that doesn’t sound like Rafe. Ava adds that they also accused her of framing Rafe and landing him in jail because they got it in their head that she knew all along and is out for revenge. Allie asks if that is the case.

Tripp asks Chanel what Johnny did now. Chanel says it’s what she’s doing as she plans to sue Johnny for divorce and take him for every penny he’s got. Tripp points out that will cause Johnny a great deal of pain so he’s happy to help. Chanel explains that Johnny will claim that he married her on the spur of the moment and instantly regretted it. Chanel reminds Tripp about how happy Johnny was to celebrate on New Year’s Eve, so she asks Tripp if he would be willing to testify. Tripp agrees to do so and recalls Johnny saying he wanted to spend the rest of her life with her. Tripp adds that what’s weird is that he never liked or trusted Johnny, but when he said that, he believed him. Chanel thinks Johnny loved her until out of the blue, he didn’t.

Johnny asks if he’s convinced Gabi not to murder Jake just yet. Gabi still wants to cut his head off but agrees to take him to the cleaners first. Gabi still can’t believe Jake tried to take her to bed this morning. Gabi comments on this Valentine’s Day. Johnny suggests they can rectify it as he goes to kiss Gabi but Jake walks in and says he’s sorry to interrupt. Jake asks Gabi where she’s been. Gabi says she’s obviously right here. Jake reminds her that she said she was going to see Rafe so he questions why she lied to him.

Nicole goes to see one of the men who is accusing Rafe and pretends to be Jennifer, there for an interview. Nicole brings up coming across evidence that Rafe is being framed and that the three men accusing him are lying. Nicole doesn’t think setting up the police commissioner was a bright move. He denies it. Nicole doesn’t know what Ava did to persuade him to do her dirty work, but she knows she put him up to it and she can prove it.

Ava can’t believe Allie asked if she did that and asks if that’s what she thinks of her. Allie says she’s just desperate about Rafe and talks about Rafe being a great stepfather growing up so she cares about him a lot. Allie knows he did not do what he’s accused of. Ava says that doesn’t mean she set him up. Allie apologizes. Ava claims she cares about Rafe too since he pretty much saved her after Charlie and couldn’t have gotten through that without him. Ava says she’s just upset about Rafe and Nicole. Ava blames Nicole because she thinks she had her eyes set on him from the beginning. Allie brings up how much Nicole has done for her, so she can’t listen to Ava trash her. Ava says the wound is just pretty fresh since she just found out. Ava argues that she just found out about it today so there was no reason for her to frame Rafe. Ava thinks to Charlie’s grave and tells Allie that she swears on her son’s life.

Tripp tells Chanel that they are all ticked off about how Johnny treated her but he believed that Johnny felt about her how he feels about Allie. Chanel comments on Tripp and Allie getting pretty serious which Tripp confirms. Tripp brings up Chanel knowing Allie better than anyone so he asks for her opinion. Tripp then reveals the ring and asks if Chanel thinks Allie would like it. Chanel asks if he’s proposing. Tripp admits that he is tonight.

Gabi thinks Jake has a lot of nerve. Jake thinks she owes him answers since she said she was going to the police station to see Rafe but he went there and find out she never went, so she lied to him, while her phone went straight to voicemail and she didn’t call him back. Jake accuses Gabi of being too busy here with Johnny. Johnny claims it’s all his fault as Gabi was on her way to see Rafe but he called her and said it was an emergency about the DiMera takeover. Johnny tells them that Chad and Tony just left on the company jet looking for Abigail, so now is the time to make their move. Johnny proposes calling a board meeting to get Victor on the board and they can install Jake as the new CEO of DiMera. Jake says Gabi as head of Titan too. Johnny and Gabi say that was the deal they all agreed to. Jake appreciates what Johnny has done to install him back as CEO of DiMera, he can’t help but wonder if he doesn’t want the job for himself.

Ciara tells Julie that they loved her cross and Ben hung it outside like she wanted, but once they did, it kept flipping upside down. Ben thought maybe something was wrong with the nail so he tried to fix it, but nothing he did would keep it upright. Ciara says it felt wrong to leave it there upside down. Julie calls that very wrong. Ben asks if she’s alright. Julie says she made that cross their gift to protect their unborn baby but now there’s no way they could get the cross to stay upright. Ciara says they will try again. Julie doesn’t want to alarm them but calls it a very bad sign. Julie declares that an upside down cross is a sign of the Devil himself.

Nicole tells the man that Ava did a good job of covering her tracks but not enough to get past her. Nicole warns that Ava is going down so he can either cut a deal to testify against her or Ava’s going to take him down with her. Nicole asks if he will take advantage of his last chance to save himself and admit that Ava put him up to this.

Ava hopes that Allie believes her. Allie knows she wouldn’t swear on Tripp’s life if she didn’t mean it. Ava agrees and says she loves Tripp with all her heart, like Allie does. Ava says she can’t have Allie thinking badly about her, especially not tonight when Tripp is about to. Allie asks what he’s about to do. Ava says she shouldn’t have said anything. Allie asks if she should be worried about Tripp. Ava assures it’s a good thing, at least she hopes Allie thinks so. Allie realizes and asks Ava if Tripp is going to propose.

Chanel asks Tripp if he’s really proposing tonight. Tripp says he’s been wanting to for awhile but it would take him six years to come up with a decent ring. Tripp explains that Ava gave him his great grandmother’s ring and it seems like Allie’s style but he’s not sure. Chanel assures that Allie will love it. Tripp wants it to be special as Allie deserves it. Tripp says he’s never met anyone like Allie and praises her. Tripp hopes he’s not rubbing it in after all Chanel has been through with Johnny. Chanel knows how much he loves Allie and says it’s not his fault that her brother was an ass. Tripp thinks even Allie underestimated how big of an ass Johnny is. Tripp brings up what happened between Allie and Chanel. Chanel blows it off as she and Allie just kissed a couple of times a long time ago and since then, she’s made it totally clear that Tripp is one that she loves while Johnny is the one that Chanel thought she loved.

Johnny says he may be CEO of DiMera one day but Gabi has convinced him that Jake is the right man for the job in this moment. Johnny remarks that Gabi can be very persuasive. Gabi talks about Jake doing this job before and Mr. Shin has always been on his side. Johnny adds that he’s so busy with his movie that he doesn’t have time for another job. Johnny kind of wishes his producer wasn’t holding him to his contract. Jake thought Johnny was dying to do this movie. Johnny remarks that he feels like he’s in a deal with the Devil to tell the Devil’s story…

Julie comments that it could be a coincidence but the Devil came to Salem to claim Ciara and Ben’s unborn baby. Julie explains that she and Doug got the cross to protect their unborn great grandchild. Ciara assures that they will try again and again to fix it. Julie knows they think she’s being superstitious but the last time she saw an upside down cross, the Devil was standing in her living room. Ben assures that Marlena is no longer possessed by the Devil. Ciara reminds her that the exorcism worked and the entire family was there to witness it. Julie brings up when the Devil passed from Doug to Marlena and now out of Marlena. Julie asks how do they know the Devil has left Salem?

Nicole tells the man that she’s not telling him what to do but advises him to exit while he has the chance. He reminds Nicole that the last time a former associate of Ava crossed her, he wound up dead with a steak knife in his chest. Nicole asks if he’s saying he’s a former associate of Ava. He says he never said that. Melinda then walks in and questions what the hell is going on here.

Ava tells Allie that thinking Tripp is going to propose is quite a leap. Allie asks if it is because she ran in to Tripp the other day with Roman at the Pub and they said they were talking about Steve and Kayla but she bets that Tripp was asking for her hand in marriage because her parents aren’t around. Ava calls that an even bigger leap. Allie asks if it’s true. Ava then admits that it is true but says she can’t say anything because Tripp was so excited and she can’t be the one who ruined it for him. Ava adds that it would just kill her if Allie said no because of her.

Tripp thanks Chanel for being happy for them. Chanel calls Allie her favorite person in the world and jokes that she’ll have to call her Johnson instead of Horton. Tripp says he’s been thinking about putting her ring at the bottom of her champagne glass. Chanel points out that Allie’s not really a big fan of champagne. Chanel decides to write down the recipe for Allie’s favorite drink instead.

Johnny asks if they are all on the same page. Jake agrees to striking while the iron is hot. Johnny says he will call Mr. Shin for a board meeting and steps out. Jake calls Johnny an arrogant son of a bitch. Jake tells Gabi again that he’s sorry for interrupting whatever he walked in on. Gabi claims it was nothing. Gabi argues that they need Johnny’s votes to get what they want and she knows what she’s doing, so she asks Jake to trust her. Devil Johnny stands outside the room with his phone. Jake then gets a text from Maggie, wanting to see him. Gabi sees it and asks what that was about.

Ciara asks Julie if she thinks the Devil possessed Doug again. Julie brings up the fire breaking out on top of the stove a couple nights ago when it wasn’t even on. Ben asks if she thinks it could have been The Devil that did it. Julie points out that it broke out just before she was leaving to bring them the cross. Ciara mentions Johnny bringing it over. Julie talks about Johnny showing up to talk to Doug about this awful movie he plans to make. Ben says that Johnny told them that Julie was busy putting out fires in a joking kind of way. Julie assures it was no joke. Julie cries that this can’t be happening again.

Allie tells Ava that it means so much to her that they have a great relationship because of Henry and Tripp, but even if they didn’t, it would never affect how she answers Tripp. Ava is relieved and decides she should let her go because she has a big night ahead of her. Ava hugs Allie and reminds her to act surprised. Allie assures there will be no worries there.

Chanel gives Tripp her drink recipe. Tripp agrees to whatever he can do to help her in court. Chanel says they might have to rethink that since when she asked him, she didn’t know he was just about to become Johnny’s brother-in-law. Tripp points out that’s only if Allie says yes. Chanel tells him to make sure it’s cool with Allie if he testifies. Tripp assures that it will be as Allie feels the same about Johnny as he does and has even started calling him the evil twin.

Devil Johnny smiles while using his phone as Jake gets another text from Maggie that it’s urgent. Jake says it must have to do with Victor and Titan. Jake says he will let Gabi know what she says but he doesn’t plan on doing much business talk. Jake then kisses Gabi as Devil Johnny watches from the doorway.

Ciara asks Julie if Doug has been okay lately. Julie jokes that he hasn’t locked her in the freezer again. Ciara asks if Doug has been acting out of character. Julie assures that he’s back to being the most wonderful husband in the world again. Julie brings up when the Devil left Doug and went in to Marlena, she was in the room with him. Julie points out that Doug was not at the exorcism so there’s no way the Devil could have gone back to possess him. Ben asks if that’s how these things work. Julie confirms it’s what she is told. Julie apologizes for disturbing them and guesses she is getting crazy. Julie just wants them to be well and safe as she hugs Ciara. Julie jokes that they are lucky they don’t have a gas stove. Julie wishes them a wonderful Happy Valentine’s Day. Ciara sends her love to Doug as Julie then exits. Ben talks about how it doesn’t make any sense because there’s nothing wrong with the nail or the cross. Ciara says it’s scaring her. Ciara asks what Ben is thinking. Ben responds that maybe Julie is right that there is no way The Devil could have gone back in to Doug, but maybe he could have jumped into somebody else.

Melinda tells the man that Nicole is not a reporter and accuses her of witness tampering. Melinda warns her to get out before she gets thrown out. Melinda suggests Nicole call a lawyer unless she wants to join Rafe in prison.

Tripp calls Ava to thank her for helping him get ready for tonight. Ava asks how he’s doing. Tripp wishes he could fast forward to dinner. Tripp asks Ava to pick up cranberry juice and some limes. Tripp comments that Allie is going to be so surprised..

Chanel finds Allie in the town square and remarks that she looks like she’s contemplating the meaning of life. Allie responds that she kind of is as she just found out from Ava that Tripp is going to propose tonight. Chanel reveals that she knows because Tripp told her because he wanted her opinion of the ring. Chanel assures that she will love it. Chanel knows Tripp wanted it to be a surprise but asks what Allie is going to say now that she knows.

Devil Johnny uses his power to cause a shock pain to Jake. Jake tells Gabi that he will see her later and hopes she’s hungry as he has a bit of a surprise for her when he gets back from Maggie’s. Jake exits as Johnny returns to the room. Gabi complains that Jake is still plotting with Maggie out in the open. Johnny reminds Gabi that she has an even bigger surprise for Jake. Johnny declares that pride goes before the fall.

Ciara worries that the Devil is still after the baby. Ben points out the Devil had to possess somebody at the exorcism. Ciara says that Belle told her who was there and goes over the list which included Marlena, John, Eric, Brady, Sami, Allie, and Johnny. Ciara realizes and points out that Johnny was the one who brought them the cross.
