Ridge: You’re not budging on this at all, are you?

Eric: Designing for the company I founded? No.

Ridge: [ Sighs ] Yes, the company you founded. How about we do what we talked about? Take some of your designs, put ’em in the couture line.

Eric: The couture line that you’re working on.

Ridge: The couture line that we’ve worked on over the years? Yeah. What is your problem?

Eric: Why do I have to keep telling you this, Ridge? I’m designing this line, and I’m doing it solo.

Ridge: Solo? With RJ!

Eric: Yes, with RJ. I’m doing it with RJ. [ Grunts ] He’s helping me. He’s, uh… he’s helping me put these designs on paper. That’s what’s bothering you, isn’t it? That your son is designing, but he’s designing with me and not with you.

RJ: Mom, are you saying that my designing with Granddad could hurt his relationship with Dad? I mean, I don’t want that, but I don’t– I don’t understand. Why would Dad be angry?

Brooke: No, he’s not angry. Just the opposite. He’s ecstatic that you’re designing. I meant that.

RJ: Yeah?

Brooke: He just wishes that the circumstances were different.

RJ: He wish– what– what does that even mean? Are you saying that Dad doesn’t want me designing with Granddad?

Hope: Are you sure you’re okay with this?

[ Hope exhales sharply ]

Hope: You– you get what this is, right?

Thomas: Yeah.

Hope: Yeah. Just, I… I– I know your commitment to me, and, Thomas, the way you’re looking at me, I just–

Thomas: Hey. You’re so beautiful.

[ Hope chuckles ]

Thomas: We’re good. No strings.

Hope: Okay. ‘Cause I… love what we’re doing together. I just… is it really going to be enough for you?

Brooke: I still can’t believe that you kept it from your father and me that you’re designing. That is incredible! We’re so proud.

RJ: Thank you, Mom. Yeah, I, um– I mean, I just wanted to keep it low-key ’cause Granddad wanted to keep it low-key, so.

Brooke: Okay. Well, I respect his wishes. It was still a shock, though.

RJ: Well, what’s life without a few surprises, am I right?

Brooke: [ Laughs ] That’s right. It’s a little more complicated for your father, but… you should’ve seen his face when I told him. He was, uh… he was amazed. I think it took a minute for him to believe it.

Carter: Um… believe what?

RJ: Hey, Carter. Um… well, I mean, you’re gonna find out sooner or later. Uh, my granddad is creating a new line, and I’m helping him with it.

Carter: What? I’m sorry. Wait, hold on, hold on. Is RJ Forrester actually getting involved in the family company? How, man? How so?

Eric: RJ and I are working together.

Ridge: I know. You’re mentoring him. Great.

Eric: No, it’s more than mentoring him. He’s doing this collection with me.

Ridge: This– yeah, your– your grand finale. Yes.

Eric: Yes. You should be thrilled that he’s designing.

Ridge: I am thrilled!

Eric: No, I think it bothers you. I think it really bothers you.

Ridge: Why do you keep saying that it bothers me? Nothing bothers me. No, I wanted this from the day he was born.

Eric: Yes, and now he’s finally doing it, and he’s designing with me, and not with you.

Carter: Seriously, RJ, congratulations, man. You couldn’t be learning from a better artist, a better designer than Eric.

RJ: Yeah. Believe me, I know how lucky I am.

[ Carter chuckles ]

Carter: Your dad must be losing his mind.

RJ: That sounds about right.

[ All chuckling ]

RJ: Yeah, I think, uh– well, I actually haven’t had the chance to talk to him yet, Mom.

Brooke: Right. I was the one who had the pleasure of sharing this amazing news, and we’re both so excited. And your dad? Oh, my gosh. He is so proud.

Carter: And Eric, he’s the one teaching you.

Brooke: Seems like you’re very passionate about the work that you’re doing together.

RJ: Oh, yeah. I mean– well, he is teaching me, and that’s been great. It’s been amazing. But… Mom, it’s even more than that. I mean, he called this line “our line.” I mean, you have no idea how that makes me feel.

Ridge: Here you go.

Eric: Well, thank you. Cheers.

Ridge: Cheers. Mmm.

Ridge: Perfect?

Eric: Very close.

[ Ridge chuckles ]

Ridge: What are you doing? What is all this? What do you– what do you want? Do you want– want drama in your life? Is that it?

Eric: There’s not drama. It’s just a– it’s a pretty simple story, really. With RJ… RJ was off in the world. Traveling around, not communicating with us very much, not coming home very often. He had no interest in the family business. And now he’s home, and all of a sudden, he’s designing away. With me, and– and not with you. It’s– it’s not drama. It’s a pretty simple story, really. And I wanna be sure that my son isn’t harboring some kind of resentment there. RJ’s a great kid.

Ridge: He is a great kid. I gotta say something, I’m sorry. You really think I have a problem with you teaching him? You? Absolutely not. You’re the best. You taught me. You’re– you’re the master. There’s no one better to teach him. I– I get that. You know what I don’t get? This. How it’s looking like you’re having a yard sale. This– what– what are you doing, putting yourself through all of this stress, all this anxiety, to do one more thing. Why? Let’s do it together as a family. You, me and RJ. We’ll do it together. Why wouldn’t we do that?

Eric: Because this is all mine.

Hope: Mmm. Yeah, I don’t– I don’t wanna talk anymore.

Thomas: Well, there’s a simple solution to that.

Hope: I do. I– I want this.

Thomas: So do I.

Hope: But I just– I just– um, I need to make sure that you– you can handle it.

Thomas: I can.

Hope: The agreement. You understand?

Carter: I’m really excited for you, RJ. I mean, you’re designing. This is huge. It’s a wonderful opportunity. You’re carrying on the family legacy.

RJ: Thank you, Carter. It means a lot.

Carter: But I have to be honest. I do have reservations. It’s the timing, man. To start a new line while Hope For The Future is firing on all cylinders, not to mention the continued success of Ridge’s couture line, it’s– it’s risky.

RJ: Yeah, but other than that…

Brooke: Ah, you do make some good points, though. You do. And I imagine Ridge feels the same way.

Carter: Yeah. But I do know the history of this place very well, and the first collection was a gamble, but it worked. We’re here today because Eric took a risk.

Ridge: I’m trying to figure this out, you know, where it’s coming from, this– this need to wanna do this all on your own.

Eric: Well, I know what it is. Uh, maybe it’s, uh, the, uh… it’s the ego of the artist.

Ridge: [ Chuckles ] The ego of the artist. I like that.

Eric: Yeah.

Ridge: Um, let me ask you something. Do you know what the artist needs? More than fabric, pencils, drawings? You know what that is? The press.

Eric: The press?

Ridge: Listen to this: “Three generations of Forresters meet. The third one was pulled from the shadows by the famous grandfather.” Huh? Story writes itself.

Eric: It’s a Pulitzer.

Ridge: It is.

Eric: Ah, it’s wonderful. It is. The only trouble with this is that you still– you still retain control of the line, and I’m working for you.

Ridge: What does that have to do with anything?

Eric: Ridge, I’ve been– I’ve been happy to stand in the wings quite a lot over the last few years and give you the limelight. Deserved. Well-deserved. Been very proud of you. But– but not this time.

Ridge: You really wanna do this?

Eric: Couldn’t be more certain.

Thomas: You. [ Chuckles ]

Hope: You.

Thomas: All this change in you.

Hope: Mmm. Well, I’m pretty surprised myself. I discovered something that I never even knew existed. And, uh… [ Whispers ] …I like it.

Brooke: So what are you saying, Carter? You support Eric’s decision to break off and create his own line, even though you know the risks better than anybody?

Carter: I’m not saying that, but I am too smart to count out the great Eric Forrester.

Ridge: And here I thought Mom was the stubborn one. Yeah, well, you live with someone long enough, you know–

Ridge: Yeah, good point. Yeah. Do– do you not feel relevant anymore? Is that it?

Eric: No, Ridge! No, that’s not it.

Ridge: What– what, you– you feeling your own mortality? No, Eric Forrester, you’re gonna outlive all of us.

Eric: Well, thank you for that, and thanks for acknowledging that I might have a few good years left in me.

Ridge: Sure. But I need you to acknowledge something too. There’s a new generation at Forrester.

Eric: New generation. That’s, uh… why, that’s you, isn’t it?

Ridge: No, it’s not me. No– yeah. Yes, it is me. And Steffy. And maybe RJ, and Thomas. Look at what we’re doing. Look at hope for the future. Show some pride in that. Be proud of that.

Eric: I’m so proud! I’m so proud of this company. Of course I’m proud of that. I’m just not ready to ride off into the sunset.

Ridge: No one’s asking you to do that. No, it’s the opposite. People want you to stay here and maybe mentor the next generation because their success is your success. How do you not see that?

Eric: All right, stop. Stop, Ridge, stop it. God! I need this. I want this, this– this new collection of mine. My– my– my legacy collection. I want that.

Ridge: Legacy collection. With all due respect, Dad… what if it doesn’t succeed?

Eric: It will.

Ridge: You don’t know that.

Eric: I do.

Ridge: You don’t! You don’t know that. We’ve never known that, never. But I do know something. I know that you, you can go into any bar anywhere in the world, and somebody will buy you a martini because of what you’ve done. You can go to any– any ballroom anywhere, and some sexy lady’s gonna ask to dance with you because of what you’ve done. Any yacht, any harbor, anywhere in the world, you can walk onto, and they will host you for as long as you want, because of what you’ve done. Not– not because of what you wanna do. You have plenty of accolades. What do you need?

Eric: I’m the founder of this company, Ridge. You don’t– you don’t get to tell me what to do.

Ridge: You’re right. Okay. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Eric: Warn me.

Ridge: You wanna do this with me? This fashion showdown, with me? Well… just know that I’m at the top of my game.

Eric: Hmm. That’s one big ego you got.

Ridge: I know. [Indistinct]

Eric: Yeah.

Ridge: Not my fault.

Eric: Hmm.

Ridge: I’m with Brooke. She inspires me. Everything I touch turns to gold. You sure you wanna do this?

Eric: Absolutely. Let’s settle this on the runway.

Ridge: Okay.

Days of Our Lives Update

Days of Our Lives logo

Update written by Joseph

Theresa shows up at Alex’s door and smiles when he answers wearing just a towel.

Brady informs Belle that he and Alex are flying to Greece tonight. Belle mentions hearing that’s where Victor was before his plane crashed. Brady explains that they are going to try to figure out what Victor was doing there and why he destroyed his will. Belle says it sounds like he has a lot on his plate so she won’t stand in his way. Brady notes that she sounds a little bummed and asks if she wants to talk. Belle doesn’t want to hold him up but Brady points out that his flight doesn’t leave for a couple hours, so he asks what’s going on. Belle informs him that she and Shawn just had a huge fight. Brady asks what about. Belle then reveals that Shawn is drinking again.

At the Brady Pub, Talia tells Shawn that he can join her but she doesn’t think she’d be great company as she’s trying to drown her sorrows. Shawn says that’s his plan too as he sits down. Shawn asks about her sorrows. Talia responds that it’s heartbreak and humiliation as she just got dumped tonight.

Chanel goes to the DiMera Mansion where Johnny says he wasn’t expecting to see her again tonight. Chanel says she decided to surprise him. Johnny says they have a lot to catch up on.

In Marlena’s office, John explains to his father Timothy how for awhile, he thought he was a priest but it was a lie. John says it’s been a hell of a ride not knowing who he was which Timothy can relate too. They laugh together as Marlena joins them. John can’t believe he’s actually having a conversation with his real father. Marlena is so glad they found each other which Timothy credits Marlena for. Timothy says most people would’ve tried to put his memory together with a few questions and then moved on but not Marlena. Timothy adds that he was a total stranger but she pieced his life back together. Marlena notes that John and Steve had a lot to do with it. Timothy says he’s grateful to both of them and notes that it’s getting late, so he asks if they want to drive him back to his VA hospital. John then declares that he’s not going anywhere because he’s coming home with them.

Theresa tells Alex that she probably should’ve called first but thought it’d be fun to surprise him. Alex says he loves a good surprise but questions how she knew where he lived. Theresa informs him that Stephanie told her and she also gave her his phone number. Alex questions her knowing Stephanie. Theresa then reveals that she’s her cousin. Theresa adds that Stephanie has no problem with them hanging out. Theresa says she came to nail down their dinner plans. Alex reminds her that he can’t do that yet because he’s leaving tonight with Brady to Greece and he’s not sure when they will be back. Theresa asks why they are going to Greece.

Belle explains to Brady that when she suggested Shawn get help, he lashed out and threw EJ in her face. Brady thought he was over that. Belle says he was just picking a fight and so angry that he just stormed off. Belle thought that Shawn was really committed to getting better and that they had turned a corner but now she doesn’t know what to do. Brady hugs her and tells her it’s okay.

Shawn questions what guy was stupid enough to dump Talia. Talia then reveals it actually wasn’t a guy. Shawn apologizes as he didn’t know. Talia says she didn’t either until she met Chanel and developed real feelings for her. Talia says it was scary at first but it ended up all feeling right. Shawn asks how long they were together. Talia says it was only a few weeks but she thought it was the start of something special until tonight when Chanel told her that she’s getting back with her ex.

Johnny asks Chanel how it went with Talia after he left. Chanel explains that she was honest with Talia that Johnny told her that he still had feelings for her and that Talia started to get the picture. Johnny knows it must have been hard because she cares about her. Chanel admits that she hated hurting her but she had to tell her the truth.

Timothy says he doesn’t want to impose. John and Marlena assure that they would love to have him. They add that Timothy will get to meet his grandchildren, Brady and Belle. John declares that it’s time for Timothy to meet the rest of his family.

Johnny asks how Talia took the news. Chanel says not well and that she tried to comfort her but she ran off before she could. Chanel acknowledges that Talia was totally blindsided.

Talia complains to Shawn that she shouldn’t be surprised that Chanel went back to Johnny and asks how she could’ve ever thought Chanel would want a future with her. Talia feels like an idiot. Shawn encourages that relationships can get messy and unpredictable. Shawn remarks that no matter how much you think you know someone, there are some things you don’t see coming. Shawn brings up having a big blow up with his wife which Talia asks about. Shawn explains that Belle doesn’t agree with his drinking and complains that she gives him no sympathy without trying to understand what he’s going through and just attacks him and wants him to go to rehab. Shawn knows Belle means well but says he doesn’t want her to fix him, he wants her to understand the guilt he feels. Shawn states that his grandfather is dead while his father is in a coma and may never wake up. Shawn feels that he’s responsible for that. Talia tells Shawn that she’s so sorry as that’s a lot to deal with. Shawn thanks her for being the first person to try to convince him that it’s not his fault and says that means a lot to him.

Belle tells Brady that she should’ve seen this coming. Brady notes that Shawn seemed fine this morning. Belle talks about Shawn being on edge as soon as they got to Victor’s funeral and how he didn’t even get up to say anything. Belle adds that after that, Shawn went to the Pub to pack Chelsea a lunch and she lost track of him. Belle asks how she could not know that Shawn was drinking. Brady encourages that she’s doing her best. Belle feels that she just completely ignored everything she knew was true. Belle says Shawn going back to work was too much, too soon and now he’s completely backslid and is pushing her away again. Marlena comes home and tells Belle that she’s glad she’s there as she was about to call her because there’s somebody they’d like her to meet. Marlena brings up telling them about the John Doe at the hospital who couldn’t remember who he was but John figured out that it was Timothy Robicheaux. Brady questions if Yo Ling is alive but Marlena informs him that man was an impostor. Belle questions what she means. John then enters with Timothy and welcomes him home. John announces that he would like Belle and Brady to meet their grandfather.

Theresa asks if Alex is going to Greece for work but Alex informs her that it’s because of Victor. Andrew Donovan then shows up at the door. Theresa is surprised and questions how her brother knew she was there but Andrew reveals that he didn’t and that he’s there to see Alex.

John explains to Brady and Belle how Timothy remembered Joseph Bell aka Yo Ling switched his dog tags and everything fell in to place. Belle calls it incredible. John calls it fate that brought him home to them. Brady doesn’t know where to begin as there is so much to catch up on. Timothy suggests starting from the beginning and asks Brady to tell him about himself. Brady responds that he runs a company that his dad started called Basic Black and he has two children, Tate and Rachel. Timothy asks about Belle. Belle informs him that she’s a lawyer and has a daughter, Claire, who lives in South Africa. Timothy asks if she’s married. Belle confirms that her husband Shawn is a detective. Timothy says he’d love to meet him. John suggests Belle get Shawn over but Belle states that he can’t get away right now.

Shawn tells Talia that he’s not looking to alleviate his guilt. Talia says she gets it and relates to Colin manipulating her in to doing things that she didn’t want to do but she did it anyway. Talia adds that she took responsibility for it. Shawn agrees and says he didn’t mean to shoot his dad but it doesn’t change the fact that he did it. Talia understands he has to own it. Shawn toasts to owning your mistakes. Shawn offers to order them another round. Talia suggests he call his wife to come pick him up and try to fix things. Shawn responds that is the last thing he wants to do right now.

Johnny tells Chanel that he feels kind of bad since if he kept his mouth shut, Chanel and Talia would still be happy. Chanel assures that she’s glad he told her how he feels or else she would’ve just kept denying what’s been in her heart. Chanel declares that she never stopped loving him. Johnny tells her the same as they kiss.

Andrew asks Theresa what she’s doing in Salem. Theresa says she came for Victor’s funeral which is where she met Alex and they hit it off. Andrew brings up that Theresa was all about Brady and wanting to get back together. Theresa says she floated that idea by Brady and he wasn’t in to it. Andrew questions if she let it go then and asks what she’s up to. Alex comes back from getting dressed and asks what Andrew wanted to see him about. Andrew brings up hearing that Alex and Brady were going to Greece so he wanted to remind him that Victor’s plane crash is still an active investigation so it would be best to let the ISA handle it. Alex assurse they aren’t looking to get in their way but just trying to find out why Victor took a detour to the old country without telling anybody and if it had anything to do with his will. Alex explains that Victor apparently called his lawyer from Greece and told him to destroy the will and then Vivian showed up, claiming her and Victor’s divorce was never final, making her the sole heir to Victor’s fortune. Alex adds that Justin looked in to it and it’s true. Theresa worries for Maggie. Alex gives Andrew his word that he and Brady will stay out of the ISA’s way but if he can tell him anything about why Victor was in Greece, that would be very much appreciated.

Brady can’t believe the timing of all this as he laid one grandfather to rest this morning while now he and Belle are reunited with another grandfather. Timothy asks Belle if Victor was her grandfather too. Belle says no and that he was her father-in-law briefly but that’s another story for another day. Timothy asks about John having a third child. John tells him about Paul and how he was baseball player. Timothy asks if Paul is in Salem. Marlena says he’s in San Francisco. John hopes that Timothy will get to meet him one day. Paul then arrives and surprises everyone.

Andrew repeats that the plane crash is an ongoing investigation so he can’t say much. Theresa urges Andrew to clue Alex in and tells him to do it for Tate since Victor was his great grandfather. Theresa adds that he can’t let Vivian screw over Maggie. Andrew reveals that Victor met with a man named Constantine who owns a restaurant in Athens. Andrew says he wasn’t very helpful to them but he might be of use to Alex. Alex thanks him. Andrew advises him to stay out of trouble. Theresa asks if Andrew came all the way from DC just to give Alex a warning. Andrew responds that he came to see his boyfriend. Theresa questions Paul being in town. Andrew confirms he’s here to see his family.

John hugs Paul and questions what he’s doing there. Paul jokes about being told he has a new grandfather and being on the first flight out. Paul introduces himself to Timothy. Paul talks about coaching now and how he used to be a baseball player. Paul assumes he was told about Yo Ling, who Joseph Bell became. Brady calls him one messed up dude. Paul recalls John being kidnapped for his blood as Yo Ling claimed he had a rare disease that needed a transfusion. John adds that Paul was also kidnapped to be brainwashed but he broke free and found him in a lab. John credits Marlena and Steve coming in the nick of time. Timothy is sorry John had to go through that and wishes he could’ve saved him. John declares that the important thing is that they are all together now. Belle states that they are finally reunited and so grateful that Timothy is there.

Talia questions Shawn not wanting to work things out with Belle. Shawn says there’s a lot that Talia doesn’t know. Shawn acknowledges that Belle is an excellent lawyer, but as a wife she’s made plenty of mistakes and the most recent was with EJ DiMera. Talia questions what he means. Shawn informs Talia that Belle cheated on him with EJ. Shawn says they were legally separated but she’s still his wife and it’s not the first time she cheated. Talia says she’s so sorry as he must be in a lot of pain but it obviously didn’t break him since they are still together. Talia encourages that it says a lot. Shawn feels that after everything Belle has put him through, it’s only fair that she gives him space to fall apart a little bit and let him feel what he feels.

Johnny asks if Chanel wants to go up to his room. Chanel tells him to go easy since they just got back together. Johnny says he just didn’t want anyone to walk in on them kissing, then admits that he was hoping they could make love but only because he’s afraid to believe this is real and he wants to do everything he could to keep her from changing her mind. Chanel assures that he is what she wants.

Alex thanks Theresa for backing him up with Andrew and notes that he probably never would have given him the lead about Constantine without her. Theresa says she likes being useful. Alex tells her that he’s going to treat her to a special dinner as soon as he gets back. Theresa asks why wait and suggests she could be useful to he and Brady in Greece, so she asks to tag along. Alex questions her wanting to go to Greece with them. Theresa points out that she could call in favors with the ISA and she’s excellent at solving puzzles. Alex says he would love for her to come but he doesn’t think Brady would like that, so he suggests they stick to the original plan and he’ll take her to dinner when he gets back. Theresa accepts that and wishes him luck, guessing she’ll see him when he gets back. Alex thanks her and hugs her.

Johnny asks Chanel if they are definitely not taking it any further tonight. Chanel confirms that they are not, so Johnny asks what they should do instead. Chanel suggests they watch a movie. Johnny suggests “What’s Up Doc” and tells her it’s a love story which Chanel agrees to.

Shawn remarks that Talia must think he’s a terrible husband. Talia says she’s the last person to judge and points out that she’s been in one serious relationship in her entire life. Shawn says that’s because she was busy becoming a brilliant doctor. Talia jokes that she is damaged goods. Shawn disagrees and calls her human.

Brady, John, Paul, and Timothy joke together while Marlena notices Belle is turned away and quiet. Marlena asks Belle if something is wrong with Shawn. Belle confirms that he got drunk again. Marlena says she’s sorry. Belle thinks that Victor’s funeral was just too much for him and it’s clear that his behavior is showing he needs more help which she told him, so he got really mad and stormed off. Marlena offers to reach out to him but Belle says he’s not responding, so she thinks she needs to give him time to cool off. Belle says she will look for him later and for now will just try to have a good time with everybody. John talks about not meeting Paul until he was an adult so he missed out on raising him. Paul says they definitely made up for lost time and he couldn’t have asked for a more loving and supportive father. Paul mentions John coming to support him for gay pride last year. Timothy asks if Paul is married. Paul says no, but he does have a boyfriend, as Andrew then arrives. Paul introduces Andrew to Timothy. Andrew says it’s an honor and talks about how excited Paul was to meet him. Timothy jokes that he hopes he lived up to the hype. Paul assures he did. Brady adds that they couldn’t ask for a better addition to their family. Belle states that they are so blessed to have him in their lives. Timothy is overwhelmed by their kindness and generosity. Timothy talks about being alone for a long time and now after all this time, he’s surrounded by so many loving faces has overwhelmed him. John tells him to get used to it because with this family, that love is just going to keep on coming. Andrew suggests they all get in for a first full family photo which they do.

Belle goes to the Brady Pub and says she thought for sure that Shawn would be there. Belle tries calling Shawn.

Shawn ignores Belle’s call as he is with Talia in her room. Talia talks about how she can’t believe they got kicked out by the bartender when it’s his family’s pub as they continue drinking. Shawn asks Talia about her sister living here too. Talia jokes that it’s her place. Shawn hopes she won’t mind that they are going to have a little party as he wouldn’t want to piss off his partner. Talia tells him there’s no worry because Jada is pulling an all nighter at work which means they have the place to themselves. Shawn and Talia then begin kissing and move on to the bed.

Johnny and Chanel start to watch What’s Up Doc. Johnny assures Chanel that it has a happy ending as they kiss.

Paul and Andrew kiss in the town square. They say they have missed each other. Andrew is glad they could meet up in Salem. Paul asks how it went with Alex. Andrew says it was fine but when he showed up at his place, his sister Theresa was there as apparently they hit it off at Victor’s funeral. Paul questions them just hanging out. Andrew says she made it seem that way but he feels she has a hidden agenda, because she always does. Paul and Andrew then walk off together.

Alex and Brady leave Alex’s apartment together. Alex mentions Andrew stopping by earlier. Brady says he was just with him. Alex adds that Andrew gave him a lead and he will fill him in on the way. After they walk off together, Theresa appears and follows after them.

John and Timothy have a beer together. Marlena says she will join them after getting Timothy’s room ready. Timothy says it’s been nice meeting everybody but he knows John has things to do and obligations so he doesn’t want to pull him away. John assures that there’s nothing he’d like more than to get to know him better. Timothy relates that there’s no place he’d rather be than with his family. John asks to call him dad. Timothy says he wouldn’t have it any other way as they hug.

Abby: Hey, I’m glad you had time to see me.

Jack: Your message sounded a little frantic. I have some idea what this is about.

Abby: Well, I haven’t heard from my mom. I think she’s still in france, but I’m not sure. Have you heard from her?

Jack: No, not yet. As diane told you, we saw tucker alone. What that means regarding ashley, I don’t know.

Abby: Well, when I confronted him about what happened with my mom, I mean… he– he said, like, a bunch of business stuff. I don’t really even know. What the hell did he do with my mom?

Diane: He didn’t reveal much to us, either.

Jack: Look, I’ve tried reaching out to her to try to get some clarity on all of this. I haven’t had any luck. All I’ve gotten is voice mail.

Abby: My mom hasn’t returned my calls or my texts. So either she’s avoiding us, or– or she has no idea how worried we are. My mom and tucker just got married, and they’re on two separate continents! Uh, this can’t be good, right?

Tucker: Here you are.

Audra: Thank you.

Tucker: Well… that was a triumphant return, if I do say so myself.

Audra: Yeah, you know, five minutes ago, you were bitter and miserable. You know, I might prefer that, uh, to obnoxiously cocky.

Tucker: Five minutes ago. I guess time flies when you’re having fun, huh? And I didn’t hear any complaints from you. You poor thing. Having to spend your nights with kyle abbott. No wonder you came to me.

Audra: Like I said, obnoxiously cocky.

Tucker: Well. I appreciate the revival, nonetheless.

Audra: It wasn’t a revival, tucker. Okay? It was a one-time thing.

Tucker: Mm. No ulterior motives? No hidden agendas?

Audra: Are you questioning my heart of gold? Look, I told you. Look, I– I was worried about you, okay?

Tucker: You’re always thinking two steps ahead. You’re on a fishing expedition. You want to know more about what happened with me and ashley. Huh? Want to have some pillow talk about my marriage?

Daniel: So. You, uh, ready to jump into the school year?

Lucy: Ugh, dad, no. Shh, no, no school talk. I’m still in my summer zen.

Daniel: Mm. Sorry. Fair enough. I mean, I’ll take every minute that I can get with you. It was a real treat, having you come here to finish out the summer. Speaking of treats, I even had sharon stock up on all your favorite treats at the coffee house.

Lucy: Sharon’s the best, and I mean, you’re pretty cool too.

[ Daniel chuckling ]

Daniel: Let’s not get crazy here. Look, I don’t mean to mess with your zen, but, um… do you know that your mom was thinking about not going back to portugal?

Lucy: Yeah. Yeah. She told me.

Daniel: Would be a big change for both of you. How are you feeling about it?

Lucy: You know, I really wanted it to work out, moving to portugal. I– I think mom really needed the change. So did I, honestly.

Daniel: You both deserve some peace after living with me. I wasn’t exactly my best self.

Lucy: But you’re different now. You’re back to being your old, good self.

Daniel: Handsome and brilliant.

Lucy: Yeah, that. I mean, portugal was great at first. And school was fine and mom had met chris. They were great.

Daniel: Chris…

Lucy: Um, until they weren’T. Mom wouldn’t tell me everything, but seems like he turned out to be quite the jerk.

Daniel: As big a jerk as me?

Lucy: Eh. Kind of a toss-up. I mean, I guess it all kinda just depends on what mom wants. I’d be okay with coming back to the states, though. Uh, more than okay, actually. Do you want me and mom to come home?

Phyllis: Thank you for meeting with me. You know, I just wanted to officially give you thanks for stepping in at the last minute and taking over my case.

Heather: I suppose I should also thank you because you have not once brought up my and daniel’s relationship during this entire lunch, and I imagine that, uh, was probably difficult for you.

Phyllis: Wha– why?

Heather: Because you had to actually pretend this lunch was about catching up.

Phyllis: Uh, it is! And about thanking you. I mean, what else would it be about?

Heather: Nudging me and daniel back together.

Phyllis: Oh, heather, no, no, no. Listen. Listen. I’ve learned my lesson to interfere with daniel’s love life. I’ve learned my lesson, okay? I want you two to be happy. And I want you two to be solid emotionally, for lucy’s sake.

Heather: We are. We’ve gotten there.

Phyllis: Good and like I said, I have learned my lesson. I’m not gonna be the one responsible for breaking up daniel and lily.

Heather: Yeah, I’m– I’m curious. How, um… how serious do you think that relationship actually is? So I didn’t think I needed swiffer,

Announcer: Additional sponsorship provided by…

Phyllis: I have mixed feelings about daniel and lily’s relationship. That’s all. It has nothing to do with you.

Heather: Sure.

Phyllis: It doesn’t, really. And daniel says he’s happy. I mean, he seems happy.

Heather: He does.

Phyllis: It’s just that lily and daniel have horrible track records.

Heather: No, I mean, I can’t really throw stones. My history isn’t perfect. Things with me and daniel did not end well.

Phyllis: Yeah, but that was daniel’s fault. I mean, you know I love my son, but that was completely on him. It had nothing to do with you.

Heather: No, no. We– we both could have done things differently.

Phyllis: Well, you’re being very kind, but my son screwed up. He did. He’s been working on himself to be in a better place emotionally and be more stable.

Heather: It’s good to see him happy again. I mean, he… he didn’t smile for so long, he wouldn’t talk, let me in, but, um… he’s not in that place anymore.

Phyllis: No. He’s not. Hey, heather, I just want to ask you. I mean, now that my son is in a better place and he’s more stable and he’s willing to let somebody in… I mean, just– would you want that somebody to be you?

Daniel: Did you seriously just ask me if I want you around? Because the answer is yes. I mean, it’s always gonna be yes, obviously. In– in the states, in this state. I want you to be as close to me as possible.

Lucy: Me too, dad. But, um, what about mom?

Daniel: Well, I hope that heather can find happiness wherever she can find it. And if that happens to be genoa city, even better.

Lucy: You know, I actually think mom really likes it here. I was really little when we left genoa city, but… it’s always really felt like home here.

Daniel: Listen, kid, I gotta be really clear with you about something, um, and I feel like you’re old enough that we can have a frank conversation about it.

Lucy: Obviously.

Daniel: Say you and your mom were to move back to the states, or you know, genoa city. Doesn’t mean that the two of us are gonna get back together and be a couple.

Lucy: Mm. Wait. I’m sorry, did– did– did mom say something to you about this? I’m kind of feeling like a parent conspiracy thing here. Did she say something about me wanting you guys to get back together?

Daniel: She may have mentioned it.

Lucy: Okay, embarrassing.

Daniel: No, no. Hey. Hey, not at all. Look, I– I get it. I can see why you might feel like you– you want to have that again, for the three of us to be a family again.

Lucy: Well, I mean, it makes sense, right? You and mom split up because you were in a bad place, and you’re not in that place anymore, so…

Daniel: So– okay. Look. I know it’s hard, but… sometimes things don’t work out and you can’t go back.

Lucy: So, I guess this means things are pretty serious between you and lily. You guys are really happy together, aren’t you?

Jack: I don’t want to jump to any conclusions, but I honestly don’t know what to make of the situation between ashley and tucker. Why he is in town and she is not.

Abby: Well, I reached out to the concierge in her apartment building in paris, and I mean, my mind has gone to some pretty dark places. But he seems to think that she’s just on some day trip to the country.

Jack: I hate to say this, sweetheart. That is pretty classic ashley. Something goes wrong, she tends to isolate.

Abby: Okay, but what makes me nervous is that she hasn’t reached out to any one of us.

Diane: You know, it’s really strange. The two of them seemed so content before they left.

Jack: Oh, he had to do something awful to turn this around so quickly, to push her away. Son of a bitch.

Diane: But why would he come back here without her, though? I mean, why go back to the place where you fell in love again? Isn’t there somewhere else he could go to lick his wounds?

Jack: Oh, I suspect he has something in the works.

Abby: When I talked to tucker, I mean, he made it seem like my mom hurt him, not the other way around.

Jack: Well, that’s a heck of a lot more than we got. When I asked him what happened, he said, “ask your sister,” which of course, we can’t do because she’s avoiding us.

Diane: Well, wait a minute. What if tucker is telling the truth and whatever happened between the two of them was instigated by ashley?

Abby: Wait, you think this is on my mom?

Diane: No, no, no. I’m not saying it was anything malicious. But what if ashley just realized that she made a horrible mistake marrying tucker?

Abby: But when I spoke to tucker, I mean, he was pretty frustrated with me for blaming him. He seemed hurt.

Jack: If he’s frustrated and angry, he could very well decide to retaliate against us.

[ Abby sighing ]

Audra: You know, I just want to know your plans going forward.

Tucker: Why?

Audra: Just curious. Um, your world appears to have shifted.

Tucker: Mm.

Audra: Feels off-kilter.

Tucker: Mm, the only constant is change.

Audra: You know, I’m assuming, um, that things really blew up with ashley. You know, especially for you to end up here. You know, you were quite the faithful husband, and, um, but since you don’t want to talk about it, you know, I– I just, I’ll assume that whatever happened was pretty extreme. You know, I– I can imagine, you know, if things did go wrong, that, um– that you would be pretty devastated. I mean, you loved her, you’d do anything for her–

Tucker: Yeah, what’s your point?

Audra: That you’re probably feeling pretty vindictive. Maybe you’d even go after jabot.

Tucker: Ah. And what if I did, pray tell? What’s it to you?

Audra: I just want to know your mindset, that’s all.

Tucker: Uh-huh.

Audra: Like, if you’re playing a new game.

Tucker: But what’s your angle? Don’t tell me this is just about protecting your new boyfriend’s family company. There’s something in it for you, right? What is it?

For your most brilliant smile,

Audra: I– I’m just surprised by your– your turnaround, is all. You know, I– I– I thought ashley was the one, you know, your one true love and destiny. She made you a better man. And now, you just seem to have reverted to form. Yeah, I’m just– I’m fascinated and curious.

Tucker: No, you’re not. You’re doing recon work. You’re covering your bases. Why? What’s going on at newman? Shakeup?

Audra: Well–

Tucker: Exploring your options?

Audra: There are always moving parts at a company that size.

Tucker: And? Okay. Yeah. If you would be willing to share a little bit, I might be willing to share my plans with you.

[ Audra chuckling ]

Audra: So you– you– you do have plans?

Tucker: Well, let’s just say, um… hypothetically, that I did. Would you entertain the idea of working with me again? We could give each other what we want. I mean, look at us, right? There’s something. Always pulled back together.

Audra: Well, I, uh, I would need to trust you a lot more than I do right now.

Tucker: Really? After everything we’ve been through?

Audra: Things have changed.

Tucker: We still have something though, don’t we? Hm? I’ve always been straightforward with you, right? And unfortunately, even to the point where I genuinely hurt you. And I regret that. But that’s one thing that we’ve always counted on with each other, right? Honest with each other, sometimes painfully so.

Audra: Fine. I’ll entertain the possibility. But I want to know your agenda first.

Billy: What’s going on? Another abbott family meeting?

Traci: Does this conversation pertained to jabot?

Jack: No, this is about ashley. Something is going on between her and tucker. They have split up.

Traci: What? Already? Jack, how do you know this?

Jack: Well, they left on their honeymoon together in paris and he’s back in town, and she is purposely out of touch.

Traci: Where is our sister?

Jack: As best we know, still in france.

Abby: But we haven’t been able to get a hold of her. Has she reached out to either one of you?

Billy: No. Not me.

Traci: Yeah, me either. I just assumed that they were having a really good time. Oh, good lord, what has tucker done now?

Jack: Well, that is the question.

Billy: Well, he was on guard when we saw him earlier, there’s no doubt about that.

Diane: Yeah, he wasn’t even trying to be charming, so we know that something’s wrong.

Traci: Is there any other evidence that would sort of shed light on what’s really happening, then?

Jack: No, details are pretty scarce, but I think we all need to be on alert.

Traci: I hate that ashley isn’t reaching out to any of us herself, but isn’t it possible that we’re jumping to the worst conclusion?

Jack: With tucker mccall, I think it’s always better to be safe than sorry.

[ Abby sighing ]

Phyllis: I care about you and daniel. And lucy. And I know when you have something special, it’s hard to just put that in the past, you know? I don’t want anyone to get hurt.

Heather: Thank you. And I appreciate the lunch invitation and that you’re concerned for daniel’s well-being, as well as mine.

Phyllis: Of course, of course.

Heather: But you also need to accept that daniel will choose his own path and it may or– or may not be something that you like.

Phyllis: I don’t want you or daniel to give up on true happiness because you’re afraid. I want to help you.

Heather: See, this is what I’m talking about, phyllis. Even though you may think you’re– you’re fixing something, you– you could be making matters worse with daniel and I can’t imagine you’d want that, not after everything that happened.

Phyllis: I know I have made mistakes in the past with my children. I just want them to be happy. I just care about their well-being and I will never jeopardize that.

Heather: Okay. Um, in that case, I– I urge you to stay out of daniel’s private life and– and I– I ask you to also stay out of mine. It was good to see you, phyllis. Thank you.

Daniel: I am very happy. I am. I can’t speak for lily, but I think she is too.

Lucy: Yeah. She seems to really like you and you guys seem great together.

Daniel: Well, we have history.

Lucy: Yeah, that’s an understatement.

Daniel: You know, this time around though, it just feels new, and special.

Lucy: That makes sense. But if you weren’t together, do you think there might be a chance for you and mom?

Daniel: Yeah, I think, kiddo, that there’s already been too much damage done. I’m just happy that your mother and I can have a civil conversation about you, or about anything else, for that matter. And I am more than thrilled that you seem to have forgiven me.

Lucy: I have, dad. We’re good.

Daniel: Yeah, I think so too. But you know, your mother, she might not feel that.

Lucy: No, I– I don’t think so. I think she knows that you’re doing better now.

Daniel: Yes, but that doesn’t change the past. It doesn’t change anything that I’ve done. You can forgive someone, and you know, still have a real problem trusting them, after they’ve let you down.

Lucy: Dad, but I trust you.

Daniel: I know, and I am so grateful for that. I really am. But your mother, you know, she saw a worse side of me. She was shielding you from me and she would probably always be wondering if that was ever gonna happen again.

Lucy: It– it wouldn’t, dad. You’re so much stronger and more balanced now and– and mom knows that.

Daniel: Yes. I like to think I am. You know, I have to remind myself that every day, I– I have to look at what I did and who I became and never go back to that.

Lucy: And– and I think mom knows that. She might be able to forgive you, just like I have.

Daniel: You may be right.

Lucy: Given all of that and just speaking hypothetically, if you and lily weren’t together, if that wasn’t a thing–

Daniel: But that is a thing.

Lucy: I know, I know, I– I’m just asking. Wouldn’t there be a chance? Just even if it’s a little one, for you and mom.

Daniel: Maybe. My heart failure diagnosis changed my priorities.

Daniel: Oh, hey, hey, hey. Hang on a second there. You know, I– I kind of feel like this conversation has gotten away from me a little bit and just want to check in with you and make sure that you’re not planning anything, that there’s no schemes going on here?

Lucy: Yeah, dad, I’m gonna go all parent trap on you two, take you and lily out camping and then get us all stranded. It’s gonna be great!

Daniel: No, no, no, that’s not funny. I’m serious. Listen to me. Leave it alone. Do not go pressuring your mother into believing something that isn’t true.

Lucy: Yeah, like push her to fall in love with you again? You can’t make someone love anyone.

Daniel: Okay. Good, good. So, we’re good here.

Lucy: And you can’t make them fall out of love, either.

Traci: Jack, are you that sure tucker’s a threat?

Jack: Tucker has a history of lashing out when he feels wronged.

Diane: Not to mention that before he came back to town, he pressured me into trying to find out anything I could about jabot’s financial stability.

Traci: Which, as I recall, you seriously considered doing for him.

Diane: All I’m saying is that he had his eye on the company. Maybe he’s still after it, with or without ashley.

Traci: Okay, if ashley left him– if. I don’t understand why he would still be interested in the company. I mean, as I remember, they were going to take control of the company so that he and ashley could run it together.

Jack: Whatever move he makes at this point is going to be a direct blow against me.

Abby: But why would he go after you?

Jack: Whatever fallout there was between tucker and ashley was likely because of her loyalty to this family. More specifically, her connection to me.

Billy: If you don’t mind, I have an idea. And if it works, it could solve everything.

Tucker: Unfortunately, ashley and I just have different priorities. And as it turns out, irreconcilable differences.

Audra: That sounds like divorce talk.

Tucker: Yeah, uh, don’t– that’s all I want to say about her.

Audra: Fine.

Tucker: I’m gonna do what I should have done when I first moved back to town, what I originally planned.

Audra: Um, you were gonna target jabot?

Tucker: I’m gonna do more than target it. I’m gonna take the sucker. Right from the abbotts. In its entirety.

Audra: Bold.

Tucker: Does it worry you?

Audra: Why would it?

Tucker: Your relationship with kyle?

Audra: Hm. You know, we– we’re having so much fun together. Even, you know, if we now have to keep our– our affair a secret.

Tucker: You do? Is that some kind of new audra game?

Audra: It’s an edict from nikki newman.

Tucker: Oh, did she drop the hammer on you? She doesn’t like the idea of you sleeping with her granddaughter’s husband?

Audra: Anyway, um, if we were to resume our connection, I’d want something in return.

Tucker: Yeah, there it is. There’s that old black magic. Make a deal with the devil.

Audra: Okay. You taught me everything I know. Well, you know, almost everything.

Tucker: Okay, what you got in mind?

Daniel: Hey, heather.

Heather: Hi.

Lucy: Um, I’m glad you’re here. How did the lunch with phyllis go?

Heather: Fine. But I have some news. Unfortunately, we need to head back to lisbon sooner than we planned.

Lucy: Ugh, why?

Heather: I– I got a call from my firm on the way over here.

Lucy: I thought they closed down the offices.

Heather: They did, but, uh, they’re calling a special meeting for an upcoming trial. I need to be back for that.

Daniel: Oh, that’s too bad.

Heather: I also need to speak with them about my plans, which may involve returning to live in the states.

Lucy: Yeah, um, dad and i were actually just talking about that, and I’d really be on board, if that’s something you want to do.

Heather: Well, we’re gonna do what’s best for both of us, and we’ll need to figure out school for you, if we do plan to come back. So, there is a lot to decide and to discuss.

Lucy: Yeah.

Daniel: You know, I’m sorry that happened so soon.

Heather: Me too. But maybe it’s for the best.

Daniel: You sure there wasn’t anything more to it?

Heather: What do you mean?

Daniel: I mean phyllis. My mother. Did she do something? Feeling sluggish or weighed down?

Announcer: The young and the restless will continue.

What can you do

with sensitive skin?

Heather: No, no, no, no. Phyllis and I had a perfectly pleasant lunch.

Daniel: Mm-hmm? She didn’t, uh, step out of line? Try and run your life or make you do anything?

Heather: Your mom loves you very much.

Daniel: Oh, boy. Yeah, now you’re really making me nervous.

Lucy: So sad we have to leave so soon. I really enjoy just being here with you.

Daniel: Yeah, same.

Heather: Well, guys, nothing is set in stone yet, okay? We may be back before you know it. There’s just A… there’s a lot to consider.

Daniel: It’ll get sorted.

Heather: Okay. Let’s get organized, and, uh, I’ll check in with you later. We’ll come see you again before we leave.

Daniel: You better.

Lucy: Okay. Bye, dad.

Daniel: Bye, luce. Bye.

Billy: I believe I’m the best bet in finding out what tucker’s up to.

Jack: So what is the strategy?

Billy: We allow him to believe that our relationship has only gotten worse.

Diane: I’m not sure he’ll buy that.

Jack: No, it’s true. He did out you to me right before they left for paris.

Billy: He did. He waltzed in here and dropped a big bomb, that I’m better suited to run jabot than you.

Traci: What the hell, billy?

Billy: Don’t worry, traci. It was all part of the plan to derail ashley and tucker.

Traci: Oh, honestly, this family.

Billy: When ashley and tucker abandoned the plan to use me to go after jabot, he threw me under the bus. Or at least, that’s what he thought.

Jack: Oh, that was definitely a parting shot, to make me believe that you were a traitor.

Billy: Exactly, and what would exasperate our conflict more than me trying to oust you from the company, jack? Okay, think about this. This is the ammunition that we need.

Abby: To do what?

Billy: To make tucker believe that our relationship is in shambles and all of this is gone to hell.

Jack: It very nearly did. Look, I see the logic, I’m just not sure this is a good idea.

Audra: But you were right, you know. Things have grown increasingly precarious at newman while you were away.

Tucker: Yeah, what’s the latest?

Audra: Yeah, well, victor’s made one power move after another. You know, he broke up the nick, sharon and adam venture. Adam is out completely. And– and he’s, uh, allowed sharon to take back her company, free of charge.

Tucker: And what about nick? Where does he stand?

Audra: Uh, well, he’s gonna go with sharon and help her rebuild kirsten incorporated. Totally separating himself from the newmans.

Tucker: And victor does not like familial separation.

Audra: And check this out, he’s also promoted, uh, nikki newman. She’s gonna be my new boss. Taking over in newman media.

Tucker: And thus, demoting you.

Audra: Yeah, I’m not thrilled about it, but… you know, I’m thankful that I still have a job. And mrs. Newman has chosen to assert her authority quite quickly, though.

Tucker: By blowing up you and kyle?

Audra: Yeah. You know, she’s, uh, made it very clear that I will continue on a trial basis. She doesn’t trust me.

Tucker: Nor should she.

Audra: Mm. You know, all of this means that I need a–

Tucker: You need a backup plan.

Audra: Yes, exactly. You know, some place where I can work with– with someone to whom I don’t have to continually prove myself.

Tucker: Could that someone be me?

[ Audra giggling ] Could that somewhere be jabot? I take it back. You’re not just two steps ahead, you’re ten.

Audra: If you actually go through with it and manage to get a hold of it, I’m all yours. White 80…! White 80…!

Lily: Hey. I got your text. It sounded urgent. I’ve gotta tell you, I did not expect this when you told me you wanted to see me, but I’m glad you had the urge. Are you okay?

Daniel: Yeah. Yeah, just– I want to be totally honest with you about something.

Lily: Um… okay.

Daniel: It’s just like, I just want to be completely transparent on this. Um… I get the feeling that my mother is trying to push me and heather back together.

Lily: Well, did something happen to make you think that?

Daniel: No, I just get the feeling that my mom was up to something, so I confronted her about it. She said it was nothing. Then she had lunch with heather, now heather and lucy, they’re leaving for lisbon in, like, a day or two.

Lily: I thought they were staying until the end of the month.

Daniel: Well, she said it was work, but… just seems like too much of a coincidence.

Lily: Well, did she say anything specific that she discussed with phyllis?

Daniel: No. No. See, I got the feeling that there was more that she wasn’t telling me. I don’t know. Maybe I’m reading too much into it, you know, babe? I’m just, I’m bummed. I was really looking forward to spending that time with lucy.

Lily: I’m sorry. And look, I know that your mom likes to meddle, but I think there might be another possible scenario here.

Billy: You don’t need to worry about me. I can handle tucker.

Traci: No, I– I think I agree with jack. You’re gonna have to proceed with caution, and I’m not sure more deception’s what’s needed here.

Jack: If tucker is indeed on a mission to cause more trouble for this family without ashley by his side to hold him back, he will pull out all the stops.

Diane: And he’ll be looking for any angle, for anything that gets in his way.

Billy: There’s no doubt about that, but I can sidestep him. Let’s just hope that I have a few cards up my sleeve as well.

Jack: Tucker just saw the three of us together. You, me, and diane. By all appearances, we were fine.

Billy: Yeah, that’s not a problem. I can handle that.

Abby: But billy, why would you want to? Every person that plays with tucker ends up getting burned, including my mom.

Jack: I just don’t like the idea of your getting deeply involved in this anymore, look, you’re right. We don’t know that he’s planning anything, but my gut tells me that he is, but if he does have a plan, he is going to do everything he can to stop any defensive move we make.

Billy: Well, that is for sure, jack. But I’m telling you, I can handle it. Rsv is in for a surprise.

Lily: I don’t know if phyllis is the reason that heather wants to leave town.

Daniel: Then what could it be, then?

Lily: I think she might still have feelings for you.

Daniel: Why would you think that?

Lily: It’s just a sense I have. I mean, she’s really awkward around me, and especially when I see her after she’s run into you.

Daniel: Yeah, I just– I don’t– I don’t think that heather could ever have those kinds of feelings for me, especially after what I put her and lucy through.

Lily: Yeah, but wounds can heal. And I think now, she sees you as the man she’s always wanted you to be.

Daniel: I just don’t think it’s possible.

Lily: Okay, well, look. It means she also could just have to get back to work, so.

Daniel: Yeah. You’re probably right. I don’t know, I guess, you know, even if it were true, it wouldn’t really matter because you and I are together now.

Lily: We are.

Daniel: Hm.

Lily: I want you to know, though, that I would understand if maybe you’re feeling conflicted? I mean, it’s not like you two broke up because you just fell out of love. I mean, you were in a bad place. And you’re not there anymore and… heather could very well want you back in her life.

Daniel: Yeah, but would it bother you, you know, if it were true? That she did? I mean, you’re not worried, are you?

Tucker: Well, I’m definitely intrigued by the idea of working side by side again.

Audra: Good.

Tucker: Ah. We’re back, baby.

[ Tucker chuckling ] I scratch your back, you scratch mine.

Audra: In a manner of speaking.

Tucker: No, it’ll be fun to work together again. And your relationship with kyle? That could prove useful. We should discuss later.

Audra: Yeah, um… so we’re done here? This is you kicking me out?

Tucker: In a manner of speaking, yeah. You got your job at newman and I got work to do.

Audra: All right.

Tucker: We’ll reconvene later.

Audra: Yeah.

Tucker: Oh, wait a minute, wait a minute. Hey. I’m glad we’re back in action.

Audra: Oh.

Tucker: And I hope you are, too.

Traci: I still think we need to take things one step at a time. Can we just wait to hear from ashley, so we can get some context as to what’s really going on?

Abby: Okay, look. I’m gonna keep trying my mom. I’ll let you know if I hear anything.

Jack: Please do.

Traci: And the two of you, be smart. Do not let tucker come between you. He’s not worth it.

Jack: Thanks, sis.

Traci: Yeah.

Diane: Hm.

Billy: Diane, you know tucker. You know how fast he moves when he’s on a mission. Do you really believe that we should sit on this?

Diane: I think billy has a good point. What’s the harm in letting him see what he can get out of tucker?

Billy: There you go, jack. You should listen to your wife.

Jack: Okay. Okay, suss him out. But be careful, please.

Billy: Absolutely. I’ll talk soon.

It can’t be true. I need you to believe this, okay? I need — gladys would never drug me. Shh, shh. Hold on. Hold on. Someone’s coming.

[ Vehicle approaches ]

[ Sighs ] I always look forward to our visits, carly, but something tells me this is about more than just catching up. There is a situation, and I could use your help. Never a good thing when you’re summoned to the warden’s office. Warden garten: Come in. Good morning, warden. Per your request, I have cyrus renault. Thank you for coming, mr. Renault. That will be all. I’ll buzz you when I’m ready for you to escort mr. Renault back to his cell. How can I help you, warden? Drop the pious act, padre. I’ve had enough of your help. You hung me out to dry. And now you’re going to pay for it. Uh, excuse me. Hey, dex. What can I do for you?

[ Cellphone rings ] Oh, sorry. Oh, no, that’s okay. Take it. Hey, what’s going on? Hey, I was just wondering if you’re still going to help me move into the dorm. Of course. I’ve just got some work to finish up for sonny. Should be done pretty soon, and I’ll be over. Okay, great. I can get back to my book. Everyone’s talking about how great it is. Bye. Sorry about that. I have a message for you from sonny. I have done everything that you have asked me to do. I don’t know. Will you please stop asking me that? I have no idea.

[ Knock on door, door opens ] Hang up that phone. Hello, ava. Nice to see you, too. Come on in. Um, I have to call you back. What? What’s happening? Well, you’re not answering my calls, so I had to come and find you in person. I am done with your cousin threatening me and my family. If he doesn’t honor our deal and return nikolas’ body, I will go to sonny, and I will tell him everything that you and your cousin have done.

[ Music playing in earbuds ] Hello, hello.

[ Music continues playing

in earbuds ] Trina. Trina! Aah! Okay, if I tell you to go, take the back exit of the cabin. You run. Okay? There’s a trail right outside the door. You take it all the way up to the road. I’ll meet you there with the car. You okay? Yeah. Alright.

[ Chuckles ]

You okay? Yeah. You alright?

[ Music playing in earbuds ] Yeah. Um, I’m sorry. No, it’s okay. Here. I am so sorry. No, you’re good. You’re good. Here. I probably shouldn’t be listening to music while I work. Yeah, maybe not. Hey! So this is where you’re keeping your dove at, huh? Yeah, he’s cute. I like him there. Yeah. Um, thank you for catching me. Sure. That was embarrassing, but it was romantic, mr. Cassadine. Well, I’ll always be there to catch you, ms. Robinson. Seems like you’re there for me when it’s important. No, it seems like I’m always the one who is, uh, getting you into dangerous situations that you probably shouldn’t be in, like in greenland.

[ Both chuckle ] Well, that’s okay. I wouldn’t change it. You sure about that? Positive. Well, you’ve saved me a few times, as well. You guys scared me half to death. What’s dante doing here? He’s here because he cares, and he can help. Dante: I’m gonna try to help. Okay. Alright. Well, might as well come in. Sasha, hey, it’s okay. Friends. Oh. Sam. Dante. Hi. It’s, uh — it’s good to see you both. It’s good to see you. It’s nice to see you out of ferncliff. You look — you look like you’re doing better. Thanks to cody. Please, don’t go talk to sonny. I mean, if you — if you did that, think about what would happen, rationally, right? Just nothing good, right? So let’s — let’s — okay. [ Sighs ] T-tell me what happened. Your lollipop lickin’ cousin, that’s what happened. What did mason do now? He came to my gallery, and he accused me of going to sonny because his — his plan fell through. Obviously, sonny saw right through it. Mason blamed me for that, and he started threatening me, and I’m not going to take it anymore! I have done everything that’s been asked of me, and I still have no idea when this nightmare is going to end. Oh, it’ll end soon. Mason will come through, one way or another. One way or another? What the hell does that mean? Sonny wanted me to tell you he’s going to be unreachable for a few hours, but didn’t want you to worry. Well, did sonny tell you what he was doing? Uh, he’s with carly. They’re visiting drew at pentonville. Thank you for delivering the message. I’m just doing my job, ms. Reeves. I told you, please, call me nina. Remember, we’re both on team sonny? Of course. Dex, uh, sorry. Did sonny tell you why he and carly were visiting drew? That’s the only message he gave me to deliver. He can be stingy with details.

[ Chuckles ] Yeah. Don’t I know it. Can I get you a cup of coffee to go? Oh, no, thank you. I, uh, got to run. Told joss I’d help her with something this morning, so… nina: No, martin, I haven’t changed my mind. I want you to go all out and expose drew and carly for engaging in insider trading. Just make sure to keep my name out of it. Sonny was arrested by the fbi a few days ago. I heard that. I heard. Word travels fast in pentonville. Congratulations. Clearly, the — the charges didn’t stick. Charges were dropped. Lack of evidence. I was basically trying to smoke out the enemy, so I gave them false information. But the false information got passed along to the fbi. Here’s the problem. I don’t know who the enemy is, but I’m pretty sure it’s somebody in pentonville. The idea was to entrap sonny and send him up the river, not to watch him walk. You had one job. One. You were supposed to provide me with accurate information on sonny and his deal with pikeman so that I had something substantial to turn over to the feds. They went out on a limb and set up a big sting operation that yielded nothing. Absolutely nothing. Corinthos is a free man, and it’s your fault. Are you taking a tone with me? You don’t think this whole thing pisses me off? And have you forgotten how you became warden? Because without me, you’d still be back in the corrections office pushing paper and answering e-mails. Nobody’s happy about this, especially me. But it’s my name that’s tarnished.

[ Groans ] Which I will clear.

[ Sighs ] I am but a humble servant of the almighty. I believed we had the goods, and I delivered what the lord placed into my welcoming hands. My people — your people? Are you referring to that useless mason gatlin? I should have never intervened for him. Mason has performed admirably for us in the past, even though I realize now his usefulness may be coming to an end, as it must for all god’s emissaries.

Whoa.

[ Chuckles ] Let me help. I think I got it. Okay. Maybe with the heavier stuff, yes. Josslyn: It’s nice and easy for you. Hey — hey, joss. Oh, hi, adam. Looks like we’re, uh, neighbors again. Oh, are you in the same room as last year? Yeah, I was — I was moving back in when I noticed your stuff was kind of blocking the hall. Oh. D-do you, um — you need help? Um, no, no, actually, I-I have some help already. How’s it going? I’m good, bud. How about you? N-not bad. I, um — I’m just gearing up for another semester of pre-med. You’re not a student here, are you? What brought you by the gallery this morning? I got your text. Oh. And I missed you. Oh. Right. Well, um, earlier this morning, I was at home, and curtis and i were having a fun, little disaster… oh. …Trying to set up the smart home gaming system that marshall bought. Well, that sounds absolutely horrid. I hate setting up new tech. Isn’t that what outsourcing is for? Uh, yes, that’s nice for folks who have a team of outsourcers. But unfortunately for us, we don’t, and, uh, marshall just left it in our laps. But, luckily, being a former P.I., Curtis is a wizard at stuff like that, so… uh, so what are you doing here? And shouldn’t you be home helping out curtis? Yeah. I-I got an urgent call from paloma’s people about her current art display here. Apparently, ava left out a detail about this fall’s show, and I guess it slipped through the cracks, which is surprising to me. That’s not like her. She’s usually particular about details. I think she’s been a little distracted lately. Ah. I can only imagine why. My ex-stepmother is, uh, always up to something. Hey, say what you want about ava, but she is extremely efficient and organized. It’s highly unusual for her to drop the ball at the gallery. It — it’s nothing. It — I just — I-I-I didn’t mean anything by it. Oh, no, I don’t think so, austin. First you tell me mason will come through one way or another, and then you tell me to forget that you said it? Are you double crossing me, austin? If you’re double crossing me, that would be a very, very big mistake. No, no, ava, I-I — I’m — I’m — I’m not double crossing you. Good, ’cause you more than anybody, you know what I’m capable of. When I’m pushed and I’m provoked, I’ll do almost anything, especially for avery. Can I be honest with you about — about something? For your sake, you ought to be. I’m so sorry. I am. I’m — I am truly sorry that — that you’re here in this situation. I should — I should never have let mason put you here. And if I could go back in time and do everything over again, I would. I would change everything so that you weren’t in this position. Thank you. I’d like to change things, too. You know, nikolas provoked me. He threatened me, and he threatened — he threatened avery. That’s why I-I did what I did. But I wish I hadn’t let him get the best of me. Avery is just a child. Are you sure that nikolas would really hurt her? The last time I came to visit you, we both saw austin come in carrying his medical bag. Wait. You think that austin is connected to sonny’s enemy? I know he is. Austin and mason gatlin have been circling me trying to get evidence on me violating the nsa so they can bring it back to the — you know, whoever they’re working for. So I fed them false information. The plan was to follow them back to their boss. And you think whoever they’re working for is — is here? And the trail stops right here. And because I’m in pentonville, maybe I got a shot at figuring out who austin came to see that day. I couldn’t have rescued you from ferncliff without sam’s help. She became my medical proxy and had me committed so I could get to you in ferncliff. She also left that car for us to escape in after we broke out, and she arranged for this cabin for us to hide in. Wha– sam, why would you do all that? I mean, what convinced you that I didn’t belong in ferncliff? Cody did. He never wavered in his belief in you. He always thought you were sane, that you never belonged in ferncliff. And he was convinced that everything that was happening to you was all wrong. Most I could have hoped for was for you to look the other way. Didn’t expect you to pitch in, but — unless you’re here to arrest us.

Trina, when you believe in something, you commit yourself 100% to it. It’s one of your many wonderful qualities. It’s why I’m not the least bit surprised that you have committed yourself to this gallery and to ava almost by default. By default? Ava’s been good to me, spencer, and so has this gallery. And is that why you stopped working at the chuck? Okay. Well, I’m just saying, it could have led to a better and more prestigious job. I-I don’t think working here diminishes my chances of having a successful art career. Ava lets me get my hands dirty in the earthier, more real art, which I love. That’s why I chose this career, because of the real art. I don’t think I could have had that experience if I stayed at the chuck. Okay, but working at a high-end gallery, that could serve as a stepping stone, and then it could put you in the position to maybe start dealing with, let’s just call it, more notable art. Yeah, and i appreciate that, but… I’m not interested in merely accepting a job just to use as a stepping stone to get to something better. The most important thing to me isn’t the notability of the art, but rather something more meaningful. I want to feel fulfilled and have a sense that I was part of a process. It’s about personal growth to me, not just an impressive title. Yeah, okay, I can understand that. It’s just that, working here, you really have your hands full, and it definitely increases the odds that you will fall off of one of these ladders. That was your fault, spencer. Yeah, maybe. But if you worked at the chuck, come on, you’d have a whole support staff. Am I wrong? Outsourcers?

[ Chuckles ] Yeah, you can call them what you want to call them. It’s just a lot. I’m starting school again. I-I still have to move into the dorms. I’ve been trying to make curtis feel as comfortable as possible since coming back from rehab. I’m trying not to neglect my relationship with my dad, and it just — it —

[ Sighs ] I’m sorry. I just went on a whole rampage of complaining. No. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Hey, no.I’m just feeling really frazzled right now. You never need to apologize for venting to me. It’s okay. It’s okay. That’s what I’m here for. I want to know everything about you. And I want to participate in your life as much as I possibly can. Lately, that doesn’t feel like it’s been possible. We haven’t gotten any alone time together. Well, that’s exactly why I’m here. Trina, I think I may have fixed that. Uh, no, I don’t go to pcu. Just here to help joss move in. Yeah. We’re — we’re kind of in a rush. Adam: Oh. We’re trying to get all this stuff together before trina comes back. Hey, I’m — I’m putting together a study group for organic chem. I was just wondering if — do you want to join? Oh, uh, I’ll think about it. Yeah, for sure — have you gotten the book yet? It’s a really tough class. I mean, I wouldn’t recommend not having a study group. You don’t want to fall behind in class just because you got distracted. You know what I mean? Yeah. No, for sure. Yeah. Um, I can’t commit to anything right now until I kind of check out my schedule and stuff. Yeah. Okay. Um, but I’ll let you know. Yeah. We’re just, you know — we’re kind of in a rush. I’m sorry. But it was good to see you. Good to see you. Bye. I’m sorry about that. He has a point. About what? Hey. Hi. Have you seen the breakfast rush downstairs in the garden? It must be this great september weather bringing everybody out. Maybe we should have kept the pool open until the end of the month. Uh, you’re in a good mood this morning. Oh, why shouldn’t I be? You know, I really thought it was the end for sonny. He really — he had me worried. I thought his luck had finally run out. And then, what? Charges dropped. He’s a free man. I guess you must be as relieved as I am, huh?

[ Sighs ] No offense, sonny, but this place is full of your enemies on both sides of the cell.Yeah, I’m — I’m aware of that. But anything that you could do to help me, I’d be very grateful. I mean, if I ask the wrong person, this could blow up in a bad way. Well, the most important thing is for you to stay safe. I will. I’m not crazy about you doing this. I’m not. I need you to keep your head down and do your time so we can get you the hell out of here. I’m doing my best. Diane thinks she’s found grounds to have your sentence reduced. I don’t want you to do anything that’s going to mess that up. We both want sonny corinthos off the street and out of our way. And if I would have given the feds accurate information, he’d be well on his way to a life in pentonville, locked up where he belongs. And I would have done the great state of new york a huge benefit, and it certainly wouldn’t have hurt my career. Do you think I wanted to give you wrong information? I’m still wondering how it happened. The feds booked and arrested him with what seemed like an airtight case and then, suddenly, all charges are dropped? Well, I’ll task you with finding out exactly how and why that happened. That would be the stupidest thing I could possibly do. I am not putting myself back out on the chopping block to get information on him. Oh, is that so? Well, I am not here to arrest you. I’m here to apologize to you both. I should have believed you. I know better than anyone how selfless you can be when the chips are down, how far you’ll go to help someone. And if I listened to you, I would have taken action a lot sooner. And, sasha, I-I don’t even know — words can’t convey how I feel about what gladys has done to you and how she’s betrayed your trust. And I am so very sorry. Why would she do this? She said that she loved me and that we were family.

Turks and caicos. I want to take you!

[ Chuckles ] We’re going to go to new york city first, and then we’ll have dinner, and we can see a show, and then we’ll continue on to the islands afterwards. Isn’t it hurricane season? Yeah. Trina, “isn’t it hurricane –” yes, it’s the best time to go, because the surfing is so good. Trina, you need this. I need this. We both need to get away for a little while. Okay, what — what about ace and esme? What are you going to do about that situation? It’s taken care of. I’m going to have my aunt alexis check in on ace every once in a while. And esme isn’t really one of my concerns. Uh, my grandmother will be back any day now. Trina, we never have any quality time alone here in port charles. We’re always getting interrupted by this or that. I mean, how nice would it be for us to just go away for a little while, have some time alone, be able to focus on us and only us and our relationship? It’d be nice. No, I can’t go with you. Honestly, I don’t know what nikolas was capable of that night. But after losing kiki the way I did, the way she died… seeing her lying there like that… not moving… begging her to wake up. Wake up. I couldn’t take any chances with avery. You understand that, don’t you? She’s all I’ve got left. And I will protect her with everything I’ve got. Yes, it was incredible when sonny was set free. And I know you have a special relationship with him. You guys have a long history, but come on, olivia. There must be another reason why you’re in such a good mood. Well, leo and I went to the recording studio with ned — or eddie yesterday, and I got to tell you, he was so great with leo. He was — he was telling him all about different gigs that he’d played in the past and really getting him involved in the — in the music-making process. And I’ll tell you what. It really is. It’s such a process, you know? Well, it sounds like the three of you had an eventful day. We did. We really, really did. And the song, nina, it’s amazing. It’s — it’s — it’s earthy. It’s — it’s gritty. It’s very, very moving. I heard him talk about it as, uh, “rootsy” and acoustic. It was — I mean, eddie is — he’s such a talented musician. It’s — olivia, you keep calling him eddie and not ned. It isn’t worth you spending an extra day in pentonville, especially if you’re going to make enemies of your own. I am very accustomed to assessing risk. I can handle this. We know you can. But do you want to? It’s very dangerous. Sonny got me out of solitary. This is the least I can do. I’m — I’m happy to help. Okay. You have to be careful. Promise me you’ll be careful. It sounds like mason and whoever austin’s boss is has been causing a lot of trouble for you lately, and I want to help. Whoever their boss is has made a lot of trouble for me and people I care about. That seems to be escalating. I have to deal with this one way or another, but one way you can help is let me know who they’re reporting to. Alright? I got it. I’ll — I’ll do what I can. I’ll keep my head down. Drew? You never… promise you’ll be careful. I promise I will be careful. I love you. I love you. Well, he’s doing it. Bringing down sonny corinthos is but one step in my quest to truly turn my life around. As you know, I recently donated my money to the rodden institute to end recidivism. I know. A smart and strategic move. It pleased you and your close friend, judge sinclair. And it was convenient for me that the judge sits on the charity’s board of directors. Yes. Very advantageous. But not unlike your passion project to work with former convicts, all your remarkable efforts creating those impressive work study programs, this has not gone unnoticed. Very strategic of you, as well. And how many articles have I read in the invader about your extraordinary leadership? The press holds you in very high regard. Judge sinclair’s decision to place me at pentonville is a testament to just that. A decision that could be easily reversed. I sense a threat in your statement. Are you threatening me? “Ye have heard that it hath been said, an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: But I say unto you, that ye resist not evil: But whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.” Keep your nose clean.

Gladys is brando’s mother. She was with us when we lost liam. She’s — she’s the only family that I have. H-how could she betray me like this? Well, I have my own opinion about gladys, but, uh… she’s a weak person and she put herself in a, uh, really difficult spot. What kind of difficult spot? She played poker in a game sponsored by selina wu. How do you know that? ‘Cause I played in the same games. Sasha, my, uh — my job was to win for selina. And I saw firsthand gladys lost a lot, way more than she could repay on her own. So she used your money. First, she sold brando’s garage. Then she must have started raiding your bank accounts. The only way she could cover her debts was if she stayed in control of your money. When I wanted to end the guardianship, gladys — she tried to talk me out of it. She said that I wasn’t ready and that I-I was making a mistake. But it wasn’t about me at all. It was about my money. The harder I pushed eddie to be ned, the further I was pushing him away from — from me and from his family. I had to make a decision to accept eddie for who he is now, instead of trying to make him who he used to be. And who he is, he loves music. That is his passion, and for good reason, too. I’m telling you, nina, he is so talented, and he was so generous sharing that part of himself with leo. It really — it opened up a whole world for him. And — and, yeah, maybe he put me in touch with a part of myself that — that I almost forgot existed. You’re having a really good time with eddie. What does that mean? Are you falling for eddie maine? Do you not necessarily want ned back? I should get back downstairs. I got work to do. There’s other study groups besides adam’S. Okay? He’s just a lot sometimes. But he’s also pre-med, like you. Yeah. He goes to pcu. He’s going to be a doctor like you. Mm-hmm. I’m still going to be working for sonny. Those are very different worlds.

[ Gasps ] Are you dumping me because I’m pre-med?

[ Chuckles ] No. I would hate to think that you were biased against higher education. Oh, trust me when I say I think everything about you is amazing. Mm. I feel the same way about you. Aren’t I supposed to be helping you move in? Oh. No, you’re right. I’m s-sorry. No, you’re right.

[ Laughs ] Come on, trina. Hey, this is going to be fun, and this is going to be a great way for you to decompress before your semester starts at pcu. Yeah, I-I know it would, but I don’t think right now would be a good time to go away. My mom and curtis are still walking on eggshells, and I just want to be there to help. Yeah. Yeah, totally. But you’re going to be in constant contact with them. You’re going to be a phone call away. I don’t think that either curtis or your mother want you to curtail your life for them. I think they could probably use the alone time themselves. No, no, not with school starting right around the corner and — trina, why are you letting school stand in the way of you wanting to live your life? Trina, you’re so talented, and I’m certain that you could accomplish anything that you want to in life. So I really don’t understand why you feel like you need to do this school thing so that you can earn a piece of paper that validates your intelligence. It just doesn’t make any sense to me. Look, I appreciate your vote of confidence in me, but you come from money, spencer. Trina, my ancestry may be russian royalty, but it doesn’t mean that they didn’t have to work hard. Maybe not in the traditional sense, but they did. Look, all I can say is that I value education. And pcu has inspired me. So I don’t think taking a trip right now would be the smartest thing, especially in a hurricane zone. Okay. No. No. Okay. I just thought that it would be nice for us to get away. You didn’t let me finish. We can still go to new york and see a show and spend time together, just the two of us. I don’t think we have anything more to say to each other right now.

[ Buzzer ] Please take the prisoner back to his cell. Thank you, warden. I appreciate such a warm and supportive ear.

Hey. Hey. It’s going to be okay. I’m here. You tried to tell me so many times, cody, and I refused to listen. And now what are we going to do? I mean, w-we’re both escaped mental patients, cody. We’re fugitives. Dante: Well, you’re fugitives with friends. And there is a way out of this. With the four of us working together, we’ll figure it out. Yes! Yes, yes. Oh, my gosh! That’s so exciting. Okay, cool. I’m going to show you my favorite restaurant. It’s right near washington square park. And I can take you to my favorite pizza parlor and my favorite bakery. And — yes, okay. I will send you a list of shows, and then you will pick the one that you want to see or the two that you want to see or the three that you want to see. And we’ll go see all of them if we need to. Okay. Um, good. Yes. This is going to be fun. I’m so sick of, like, having to steal these little moments away with you, and I’m just ready for us to have a little bit of uninterrupted time with each other, you know? Yeah. Okay. Okay. Well, I’m going to go make some calls. Okay. I’ll talk to you later. Okay. Alright. Well, what’s the best suite you have? Is it a special occasion? Yeah. Yes, it’s going to be a very special weekend. I promise you something. I promise that I’ll lean on mason. I-I’ll do everything I can. Okay? But please promise me something. Promise me that you’ll be patient. Promise me that you won’t go talk to sonny. Nothing good can come of that. You know that more than I do. I meant what I said. I will go to sonny if I don’t get what I was promised.

[ Door closes ] You okay? I’m worried. Look, I-I know that drew is your best shot at finding out who austin visited here, and you need that information to keep yourself and our family safe. It just — I hate that it’s happening. All I need is for drew to give me one name. And I will take care of the rest. Hey. Hey. How you been? Honestly can’t complain. How’s your son doing? He’s doing really well. Yeah, he got a summer job this year at a pizza place.

[ Chuckles ] Yeah. Isn’t he graduating from pcu this spring? Yes, he is. Nice. Mm-hmm. Might be able to get him an internship at aurora media, if that’d be something he’d be interested in. What would you want in return? I’d get him the internship regardless, but, uh… there is little information that I’d be interested in. That’s about what I figured. What is it you want to know? Nothing major. Oh. August 23rd, a doctor came here from G.H., Austin gatlin-holt. Mm. All I need to know is who he came into contact with and who he came to see.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

Hang on, I’m coming.

Hey, Teresa, what are you doing here?

Hey, going somewhere? Yeah, Alex and I are flying to Greece tonight. Oh, yeah. I heard that’s where Victor was before his plane crashed. Mm hmm. Nobody knows what he was doing there, so we’re gonna go and try to figure it out. And why he destroyed his will. Well, well, that sounds like you’ve got a lot on your plate.

So, won’t stand in your way? Uh, hold on. Hold on. You, uh, you seem a little bummed. Think anything you want to talk about? No, I don’t want to hold you up anyway. My flight does not leave for a couple hours, so… Give it to me. What’s going on? Sean and I just, we just had a huge fight. Sorry. What about? Well, for starters, he’s drinking again.

If you’d rather be alone, I mean, I totally understand. No, no, you can join me. I just don’t think that I’d be very good company right now.

Trying to drown my sorrows away. I mean, that’s, that’s perfect, because that’s my plan too. And by all means, take a seat.

So, uh, what sorrows are you trying to drown? Heartbreak, with a side of humiliation.

I just got dumped tonight.

Uh, Chanel, I wasn’t expecting to see you again tonight. Well, I thought I’d surprise you. But if you’re busy, I can stop by tomorrow. Oh, don’t you dare. Because you and I… I have a lot to catch up on.

And then, for a while, I thought I was a priest. It’s a long story, but once again, it turned out to be nothing but a lie. I thought I had an identity issue. I’m telling you, it’s been a hell of a ride, spending most of your life not… Knowing who you really are, but then again, that’s something that you and I have in common.

Hmm. We did. And that’s all clear. You’re Mr. Robichaud. And I’m Timothy Dalton, a. k. a. James Bond. Um, uh… Nah, I’m putting you on. I’m more of a Sean Connery. Ha ha ha ha ha! I’m so glad to see you two are having fun getting reacquainted. Can you even believe this? I am actually having a conversation with… With my father, my real father.

Yeah. I’m so pleased. I’m so glad you found each other. Thanks to you, my dear. This one’s a keeper. Don’t I know it. You know, most people would’ve tried to put my memory back together by asking a few questions or something like that. If I failed, they would’ve just passed me off to somebody else. No, no, no, no, no.

I’m Dr. Marlene Adams. Oh. You know, I was a total stranger to you. And you offered to help me piece my life back together. And by God, she did it. Well, it wasn’t just me, you know. Black Patch had a lot to do with it. Well, I’m so grateful to both of you. You know, it’s getting a little late. You want to drive me back to my hospital?

Whoa, whoa, whoa. What are you talking about? You’re not going anywhere. Or not. No, hell no. You’re, you’re, you’re coming home with us.

Like sand through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives. I probably should have called first, but

I thought it’d be fun to surprise you. No, it’s cool. I just got out of the shower, but yeah, it’s cool. I love a good surprise. But how the hell did you know where I live? Oh, Stephanie told me. your phone number. You know Stephanie Johnson? She’s my cousin. Oh, wow. And she has no problem with us going out, by the way.

Which is why I came here. To nail down our dinner plans. Huh. Well, I told you I can’t do that just yet. Because I’m going to Greece. Right, yes. Yeah, you mentioned that on the phone. I just, I didn’t realize you were leaving so soon. Yeah, yeah, we’re leaving tonight actually. Just not too sure when we’re going to be back.

Okay. This is cool. I’ll play it by ear. But, um, just out of curiosity, why are you guys going to Greece? And when I suggested that Sean get help, he just lashed out. And he threw EJ in my face. Oh, God. I thought it was over that. Oh, I know. He was just picking a fight. But still, he was just so angry. How did you leave it?

I told him I wanted to go home and talk, and he just stormed off. I think I’m sorry. No, I know. I just, I, I thought that he was really committed to getting better. You know, I thought that we had turned a corner, and now I just, I just don’t know what to do, Brady. Oh, sweetie. Come here. It’s okay. It’s okay.

Alright, wait. What guy was stupid enough to dump you? Actually, it wasn’t a guy. Oh, oh, oh, I’m sorry. I’m sorry I didn’t know. Yeah, neither did I. Until I met Chanel, you know, even though it was under false pretenses, I ended up developing real feelings for her. And yeah, it was scary at first, but I don’t know, it just all ended up feeling right.

How long were you two together? A few weeks. Okay, I know how that sounds, but I thought it was a sorry something special, okay? And then tonight, out of the blue, she tells me that she’s getting back with her ex.

So, how’d it go with Talia after I left? I was honest with her. I told her that you didn’t just drop by, but that you told me you still have feelings for me. And she asked me how I let you down. And I told her that I didn’t. And then she started to… Get the picture. It must have been really hard for you. I know you care about her a lot.

Yeah, I hated hurting her. But what else could I do? I had to tell her the truth. Well, hey, I don’t want to impose. Well, how can you be in an imposition? You are my father. I won’t be in the way. We would love to have you as our guest. And besides, it’s going to give you a chance to meet Brady. And Brady is…

Your grandson. That’s right, you mentioned that before. And I can’t wait for you to meet Belle. I have kept you to myself long enough. It is time for you to go meet the rest of your family. I can’t wait.

That’s all you take the news. Not well. I, I tried to reassure her and comfort her, but she ran off before I could. Poor Talia. Yeah. Yeah, she was totally blindsided.

Honestly, I, I shouldn’t even be surprised that Chanel ditched me for Johnny. I mean, after all the horrible things that I did. Like, how could I ever think that Chanel would want a future with me? Wow! I feel like such an idiot. Hey, come on. Now, you are not an idiot. You’re not an idiot. Relationships, they’re…

They can get messy and unpredictable and, I mean, no matter how much you think you know somebody, you can’t always see everything that’s coming. Case in point, yesterday I thought that my wife and I, I thought that, I thought we were doing well. And then all of a sudden today, it’s, it was a big blow up. Well, what’d you guys fight about?

I mean, you don’t have to tell me. You don’t want to. No, I mean, I don’t mind. It’s like, she just… She doesn’t agree with my drinking. Yeah, I mean, she gives me zero sympathy, zero. It’s like, she doesn’t even attempt to try to just, try to understand what it is that I have been going through. I mean, all she does is she attacks me, and then she goes and, she tells me that I need to go to rehab.

I, I, I, I know, I know that that means well. I do, I just, I don’t want her to fix me. I just, I want her to accept what I feel. It’s just, it’s just unrelenting, gut wrenching, soul searing guilt. I get my, my grandfather, my grandfather’s dead, and my father is in a coma, and he may never wake up. And, you know, whether it’s rational or not, I just…

I feel like, I feel like I’m the one that’s responsible for that. Sean, I’m so sorry. That’s a lot to deal with. Yeah, thank you. For what? For, for being the first person that doesn’t try to convince me that it’s not my fault.

It means a lot to me.

I should have seen this coming. Oh, come on, Belle. I mean, Sean was here this morning, and he seemed fine. Yeah, but then we went to Victor’s funeral, and as soon as we got there, he was completely on edge. He just sat there like a stone the whole time, and then, Brady, he didn’t even get up to say anything. And then after that, he went to the pub to go pack Chelsea a lunch before she left, and so I just…

lost track of him. I mean, how could I not know that he was drinking? Don’t, don’t, don’t blame yourself. Look, you’re doing the best you can. Am I? Yeah. Or do I just want to believe that my husband’s out of the woods so I have completely ignored everything that I knew was true? What does that mean? I just, it was just all too much too fast.

Lifting the psych hold and him going back to work. I mean, I just. I wanted to be supportive, right? So I went with it and now Sean is completely backslid and he’s pushing me away again. Oh, Phil. I’m glad you’re here. I was about to call you. Oh, about what? Well, there’s somebody your father and I would like you to meet.

Do you remember me talking about the John Doe at the hospital? Yeah, uh, is that the guy at the hospital that couldn’t remember who he was? Yeah, well, your father figured it out. His name is Timothy Robichaud. Yo, yo, Yo Ling is alive? No, no, no, no, that, that man was an imposter. Wait, what? What do you mean? I know it’s a…

Welcome home. Isabella. Brady, I would like you to meet your grandfather.

Are you going to Greece for work? No, I’m going because of my Uncle Victor.

That’s probably Brady. He’s supposed to be picking me up, but he’s a little bit early.

Hey, can I help you? Are you Alex Kariakis? Yeah, I am. And you are? Agent Andrew Donovan, ISA. Andrew? Teresa! Like, do you know each other? Uh, kind of. He’s, he’s my big brother. How did you know that I was here? I didn’t, I actually came to see Alex.

So once Timothy remembered that Joseph be a k a, yo Ling had switched his dog tags, all of this just fell into place. I mean, this is incredible. After all this time. No, I’m telling you, it’s fate. Fate brought him home to us. I don’t, I don’t even know where to begin. I mean, there’s so much, so much to catch up on.

Well, why don’t we start from the beginning? Tell me about yourself, Brady. Um, wow, I, I run a company, uh, that my dad started called Basic Black. I, I have two children, Tate, who is in boarding school in California, and my little girl, Rachel, who is actually here in Salem. Oh, how wonderful. How about you, Belle?

Uh, well, I am a lawyer, and I have one daughter. Her name’s Claire, and she lives in South Africa. Are you married? Uh, yeah, I am. My husband, Sean, is a detective. Oh, lovely to meet him. Call him. Get him over here, Tink. No, no, he can’t make it. He’s, um, tied up at the moment. Uh, you must think that I’m weird, that I don’t want anyone to alleviate my guilt.

What? No! I, look, I get it, okay? And dude, there isn’t no question that Colin manipulated me into doing things I didn’t want to do. What’d I do? I did it anyway. But, I took responsibility for it. Yeah, yeah, exactly. See, I agree with you. I agree. It’s like, I didn’t mean to shoot my dad. I, I, Look, it was a terrible mistake.

Yes, I agree. But, it doesn’t change the fact that I still did it. And you gotta own it. Yeah, exactly. You’re just owning your mistakes.

So what do you say I order us another round, huh? Or, you could call your wife and have her come pick you up. You know, try to fix things. That’s the last thing that I want to do right now. Now I feel kind of bad. You know, if I had just kept my mouth shut, you and Talia would still be happy. No. No, Johnny, I’m glad you told me how you feel.

If you hadn’t, I would have just kept denying what’s, what’s been in my heart.

Which is… What? I never stopped loving you.

And I never… Stopped loving you either. So

what are you doing in Salem, sis? I, uh, I came back from Victor’s funeral, which is actually where I met Alex, and we kind of hit it off. Only you would pick up a guy at a funeral.

But it you were all about Brady, and how much you missed him, and wanted to try to get back together. Yeah, well, I floated that idea by Brady, and he wasn’t into it, so… So you let it go? Sort of. Hmm. Janie, Theresa, what are you up to? Mm mm. So, Mr. Donovan, what did you want to see me about? Well, uh, I heard that you and Brady Black are going to Greece.

So I thought I’d stop by to remind you that your uncle’s plane crash is still an active investigation. And it would be best if you let the ISA handle it. Of course. And we’re not trying to get in your way, trust me. Just trying to figure out why my uncle took a detour to the old country without telling anybody.

If it had anything to do with his will. His will? Yeah. Apparently he called his lawyer from Greece and told him to destroy it. And then this morning, Vivian Almayne shows up in Salem claiming that her divorce from my uncle Victor wasn’t finalized, therefore making her the sole heir to his fortune. My dad looked into it, and it’s true.

Oh my God. Poor Maggie. You have my word, man. Brady and I will stay out of the agency’s way. But if there is anything that you can tell me that might help figure out why my uncle was in Greece, that would be very much appreciated.

I just can’t believe the timing of all of this. I mean, one grandfather laid to rest this morning, and now Belle and I are reunited with… Another grandfather. I’m sorry for your loss, Brady. Thank you. Bill? Was he your grandfather too? Oh, no. Um, he was my father in law for a little while, but that’s a story for another day.

I’ll look forward to that. John, didn’t you say you had a third child too? Well, that’s a fact. His name’s Paul. You’re going to love him because he was a big league ball player. I know that you’re a fanatic of the game. Fanatic, yeah. Does Paul live in, uh, Salem? No, he’s in San Francisco. But I gave him a call, I told him all about you, and hopefully you’re going to meet him sometime soon.

But in the meantime, I’m going to show you some pictures. Now, why do that when you got the real deal right here? Oh my god! Come on, kid! What a surprise! Look at that! What a nice surprise. Oh, honey. It’s so good to see you. Like

I said, the plane crash is an ongoing investigation, so I can’t say much. Oh, come on, Andrew. Clue him in. Do it for Tate, Victor’s his great grandfather. Plus, you can’t let that witch Vivian screw over Maggie.

I can tell you this much. Victor met with a man named Constantine Melionis. He owns a restaurant outside of Athens. Do you know anything about what that meeting was? Well, as far as our investigation goes, it wasn’t very helpful. But Constantine might be of some use to you. Thank you, Agent Sullivan. I appreciate it.

You’re welcome. Just do me a favor and stay out of trouble. Ah, I’ll try. So, bro, did you come all the way from D. C. just to give Alex a warning? No, I came to see my boyfriend. Oh, Paul’s in town? He’s here to see his family.

This is great! What are you doing here? Why didn’t you tell me I have a new grandfather and think I’m not going to be on the first flight out? It is such a pleasure to meet you. I’m Paul. Paul, so you’re the big time ball player, huh? Well, I’m coaching now, but I used to be a pitcher. Yeah, I had a good arm, right?

Yeah, I guess that’s in the genes, huh? Paul, you might owe your career to Timothy here. Wait, does that mean I get a cut of your own salary, huh? Counselor, huh? Am I got a case here? Well, he definitely is your father. And what a joy and a relief that is. For me, too. I assume you told him about Yoling, the man who Joseph Bell became?

That was one messed up dude. To say the least. The man that kidnapped my dad because he wanted his blood. What? Yeah, he claimed he had some rare disease where he needed a transfusion. Never mind the fact that the procedure was potentially deadly. And he kidnapped Paul also, wanted to brainwash him to head up his cult of assassins.

The Phantom Alliance. Yeah, but I was able to break free, and down the hall, I found him in a laboratory, some strange contraption strapped to his head, and, um, a couple of armored guards almost, uh, stopped us, but if it wasn’t for Doc and my partner Steve coming in the nick of time, it… Oh, John, I’m so sorry.

I had to go through that. Which I couldn’t have saved you. Hey, no regrets, because the important thing is, we are all together right now. Yes, Dad’s right. We’re finally reunited, and we are so grateful that you’re here.

So you don’t know. Okay, I, okay, I know, I know Bella’s an excellent, she’s an excellent lawyer, but… You know, as a wife, as a wife she’s made plenty of mistakes, plenty, and uh, the most recent was with EJ DiMera. Well, what do you mean? She um, she, she cheated on me with him. Okay, look, I know that we were, we’re legally separated, but I mean, come on, still, she’s still my wife, right?

Yeah. And it’s not the first time that she’s cheated. Uh, God. Sean, I’m so sorry. And you must be feeling a lot of pain right now. But it obviously didn’t break you, okay? I mean, you guys are still together. That right there says a lot in itself. Yeah, yeah, no, I guess. I just, I just, I feel like, after everything that she’s put me through, I feel like it’s only fair that she just, she lets me have a little bit of space, you know, to, to like, fall apart a little bit.

I mean, and without the guilt, especially. You know, the least that she could do is just like, No, let me feel what I feel.

You wanna, uh, go up to my room? Go easy, tiger. We just got back together. Whoa, whoa, I just was, I didn’t want anyone to walk in on us while we were kissing. Uh huh. I wasn’t implying that we should, you know. Take things a little further. Whatever you say, G. Okay, alright, fine. I admit, I was hoping that we could, you know, make love.

But that’s just because, I don’t know, I’m a little, I’m afraid to believe that this is real. I just wanted to do whatever I could to… Keep you from changing your mind. I’m not gonna change my mind. I know what I want.

It’s you. Thank you for backing me up with your brother. You probably never would have given me that lead about Constantine if you weren’t here. No. No problem. I like making myself useful. Yeah? Well, I like dinners. And I’m going to treat you to a very special one as soon as I get back. Well, why wait? Sorry?

Oh, I was just thinking. Maybe I could be useful to you and Brady in Greece. And there’s tons of really nice restaurants there, ISA.

Not just through Andrew, my dad’s the director of the entire organization, so… I could call in a few favors. And I’m excellent at solving puzzles. I’ll go get packed. Therese, hang on a second. As much as I would love for you to come with us, I do not think Brady’s gonna like that. So why don’t we stick to our original plan and take you out to dinner as soon as I get back?

I sound okay? Yeah, of course. Yeah? Yeah. Good. Good luck to you both and, uh, I guess I’ll see you when you get back. Thank you. Thank

you. So, just to be clear, we definitely are not taking it any further tonight, right? You really like that euphemism, don’t you? I’m just trying to be a gentleman. And I appreciate that. So, no. No, we are not taking things any further. No, not tonight. Not tonight. Okay, fine. Then, what should we do instead? Um, we should watch a movie.

I know just the one. Oh, wow. Don’t worry, there’s no hockey masks or chainsaws. It’s called What’s Up, Doc? And you’re sure it’s not a hoax? Yes, I’m sure. In fact, it is a love story. Oh. Well, in that case…

I’m in. You must think that I’m a terrible, terrible husband. What? No, believe me, I’m the last person to judge, okay? Do you know I’ve been in one serious relationship in my whole entire life? Yeah, I mean, come on, that’s because you’re too busy becoming a brilliant actor. Yeah, and? I now know how to practice medicine.

Guess what? I don’t know how to love anybody, though. No, seriously, I’m defective. Damaged goods. No, come on, are you not? What’s a human? You did not. I never wanted to play this part.

Oh, come on. You got your air if you fell out of a plane. Oh, jokes are your son. bigger. Paul, catching on. I noticed you were strangely quiet when Timothy asked about Sean. Bigger and vigor and bigger. That’s what I, something wrong. Half was getting bigger. He got drunk again. Oh, I’m so sorry. Did he threaten to hurt himself?

No, it’s nothing like that. I just think that Victor’s funeral was too much for him. And, um, You know, it’s clear that his behavior It’s showing he needs more help, and I said that to him, which did not go over well, and so he got really mad and stormed off. I’m sorry. Would you like me to reach out to him?

No, it’s okay. I tried. He’s not responding. I just think I need to give him some time to cool off and, um, I’ll go look for him later. I think for Now,

I didn’t even meet Paul until I was an adult, so I missed out on the whole experience of raising him. Like I did with you. But Dad and I definitely made up for lost time. I couldn’t have asked for a more supportive and loving father. And I second that. Aw, thanks kids. And Dad even came and visited, uh, last year in San Francisco for Gay Pride.

Gay Pride? Are you, uh, A gay. Yes. Well, I got that. I was going to ask if you were married. No, no, uh, but I do have a boyfriend. And here he is now. Hey, Andrew.

Andrew, this is my grandfather, Timothy Robichaud. And Timothy, this is Andrew. Andrew Donovan. It’s an honor to meet you, Mr. Robichaud. Uh, Paul was so excited when he heard the news, he couldn’t wait to meet you. Hope I lived up to the hype. Oh, and then some. We couldn’t ask for a better addition to our family.

Truly, we are so blessed to have you in our lives. Well, I’m a little overwhelmed with your kindness and generosity. You know, you’ve just… Welcome me into your house. After, after I got out of the war, I was alone for a long time. And now, after all this time, to be surrounded by so many loving faces, it overwhelms me.

I think my heart’s about to burst. I think you better get used to it. Because with this family, that love is just gonna keep on a comin

I think we need to preserve this moment. Why don’t you all get in, I’ll take your first picture as a family.

Alright people, get together, come on.

Alright, on three, say, family. Perfect. One, two, three. Family!

I thought for sure Sean would be here.

Oh my

god, I know, right? Do you have any idea how close I was to pulling the whole thing off? Hey, don’t you know who I am? Yup, yup.

What’s up, guys? Cheers. Cheers. Oh, mm mm. Wait a second. Doesn’t your sister live here too? It’s her place! Well, I hope she doesn’t mind that we’re gonna have a little party. I mean, because I wouldn’t want to piss off my partner. Well, listen, uh, you have nothing to worry about. She’s pulling all nighter at work, so…

So, that means we have the place to ourselves.

Yeah?

Uh huh. Okay, this is a classic. You’re gonna love it. What’s up, Dot? So, is this a forbidden love story about a patient and a surgeon? Um, no. It is a romantic screwball comedy. And like I said, you’re going to love it, I promise. Okay, wait, wait, wait. First, does it have a happy ending?

It sure does. Good. Man,

I missed you. I missed you too. I’m so glad we could meet up in Salem. Although, your reason for being here is much more exciting than mine. So, how’d it go with Alex Kiriakis? Hmm. Fine. But guess who was at his place when I showed up? My sister, Teresa. What was she doing there? Uh, apparently they met at Victor Kiriakis funeral and hit it off.

So, what, they were just hanging out? That’s how she made it seem. But something tells me that she has a hidden agenda. Why do you say that? Because she always does.

Let’s go. Let’s

Oh, check this out. Teresa’s brother Andrew stopped by. I guess he’s in town visiting his boyfriend. Yeah, yeah, he’s dating my brother. Yeah, I was just with him. Oh, small world. Anyway, he gave me a lead about Uncle Vic. I think it’s gonna really help us. I’ll fill you in on the way.

Alright.

Marlena, why don’t you join us? Oh, thanks. I will, as soon as I get your room ready.

John, it’s been wonderful meeting everybody and everything, but… But what? Well, I mean, you have things to do, you got work, you got obligations, and I don’t want to pull you away from… No, you’re not pulling me away from anything. There’s no place I’d rather be than right here, right now with you, and just… You know, I’m getting to know you a little bit better, if that’s okay with you.

Oh, are you kidding? No place I’d rather be than right here with my family. No, we all feel the same way. It’s okay if I, if I call you dad. Are you kidding? I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Oh, Dad. You’re a big liar. I get it from you.

[ Upbeat music ]

Ridge: Just like dad, isn’t it? To create a whole new collection. Why now? The forrester season’s already set.

Brooke: He is determined, that’s for sure.

Ridge: Yeah, he’s determined. He’s always determined. I mean, he should go on vacation, take some rest, retire already.

Brooke: Retirement is not on his mind. Let’s look at the bright side of this. He’s using our son to help him create his grand finale.

Eric: Rj, I am so happy, so happy to have your support.

Rj: Hey, it goes both ways. Thank you for trusting me to bring your vision to life. And for teaching me.

Eric: You’re welcome. You’re a natural, you know?

Rj: Ah, come on! I don’t know about that.

[ Eric laughs ]

Eric: I do. Look, I’m so thankful that that you’re following in my footsteps. I really am. And I’m so grateful that you’re giving me the spark and the energy to create this final line of mine. Thank you.

Hope: Stop what you’re doing. All right, I want to try this on and get your thoughts.

Thomas: Okay, so what do we have here? Is it the number five with the added straps?

Hope: Hm. Why don’t you find out?

Thomas: Okay.

Hope: You know, what am i doing? It’s just–

Eric: Come on, we’re almost finished with this.

Donna: I hate to break up the party, honey bear, but, um, you wanted me to remind you about your call with pasquale.

Eric: Oh. Oh, that’s right. He’s one of our longtime suppliers. Wait ’til you see the chiffon. It’s super.

Rj: Can’t wait.

Eric: Yeah. Good. Uh, uh, luna, it was such a pleasure to meet you and I appreciate you bringing all this stuff to us. We’re very lucky to have you at forrester. Welcome.

Luna: My pleasure, thank you.

Eric: Good, okay. See you.

Rj: I’ll see you. Well, and then there were two.

Luna: I, um, I hope you don’t mind me of watching a bit while you worked.

Rj: Oh, what? Were you? I did– I didn’t even notice that.

Luna: Um, listen, I know that I’m just like an intern and I probably shouldn’t be commenting on things but your design, it’s fire.

Rj: Thank you. I appreciate it. I mean, you know, they’re all my granddad’s ideas. I’m just sketching them.

Luna: No, it’s an art. I mean, you’re an artist. It was sweet to see you work with your grandfather.

Ridge: I wonder how my dad got rj to start designing. And I’ve tried, as you know, over the years to, you know, suddenly move them in that direction.

Brooke: Subtly?

Ridge: Yeah. Yeah. Very subtly. I just– I want him to be part of this legacy, you know.

Brooke: Yeah. Yeah, it’s more like, “hi, son. How was school today? Ready to come work for me at the office?” Or “merry christmas, son. Here’s a new set of pencils.”

Ridge: Yeah.

Brooke: Or how about… “if you spent half the time honing your design skills as you do on that phone?

Ridge: What is that? That’s me? I’m doing this?

Brooke: Yeah, that’s you.

Ridge: I never do that. And those were good pencils. Are you done?

Brooke: Are you?

Ridge: Yes. No, I’m not. No, I’m not done because I want– I want my boy to work with me at this company.

Brooke: Well, I think that’s what he’s doing. But with your father.

Ridge: Yeah. And that’s okay. What better person to learn from? My dad’s the greatest. He’s the master and he– he should be helping younger people. Mentor them, start a school, do something. You didn’t have to design a whole new line for us. We’re fine. Everything’s fine. Hope for the future’s doing great. Couture’s doing great. We don’t have room for another line. So, I gotta find a way somehow to put an end to this grand finale my dad has in mind. For people who are a little intense about hydration.

Brooke: So seriously, how are you gonna convince your dad not to do the collection?

Ridge: I don’t know. I have no idea, but I have to do it and I will do it with love and kindness because I– I don’t want him thinking that I’m taking his keys away, you know.

Brooke: Well, he wouldn’t let you do that anyway. You see the tricky part is that our son is involved now and we don’T… want him to have a negative reaction about being a designer.

Ridge: Exactly, but I think if– if I try to explain to rj that this is not good for granddad, that designing this whole line is too much for him, then maybe they’ll understand. What I don’t want is him stuck in the middle cause that’s what it seems like right now.

Brooke: Okay. Well, don’t think that, okay? Our son, rj, is a designer. I mean, did you ever think?

Ridge: I always thought that. He didn’T. I was right.

Brooke: I mean, this could be the brand new beginning of this very exciting chapter in rj’s life.

Ridge: Yeah. I just gotta get through to my dad.

Luna: I should, um, get back to forrester.

Rj: Yeah. Yeah. Well, um, I’m headed that way too. You know, I never actually sketched in front of anyone before.

Luna: Oh. Don’t tell me I made you nervous. Oh, okay. Well, if this is your work when you’re distracted, then I can only imagine when you’re really vibing.

Rj: Thank you. So, what did you say earlier? You said something about you attending fashion school, yes?

Luna: Yeah. So, just imagine how incredible all this is for me. I mean, getting an internship at a major fashion house?

Rj: Well, I mean, when you put it like that–

Luna: Yeah, it’s the ultimate behind the scenes. You work well with your grandfather.

Rj: Yeah. Yeah, I really, uh, I really lucked out on a mentor there. I was, uh– I was very lucky to grow up in all of this, you know? I have so many memories of my dad and my granddad just designing together for hours.

Luna: And yet you’re so normal.

Rj: Yeah. Well, you just met us, so… heck, you don’t even know me yet.

Luna: No, it kind of feels like I do. From your content.

Rj: Ah.

Luna: Yes.

Rj: That’s right. You follow me, don’t you? What do you follow me on? I’m gonna find out right now. Luna.

Luna: All right, what are you– what are you–

Rj: L-u-n-A. Oh, there you are. Found you. Is that you? Yeah? Oh, wow. You’re private. Come on. I showed you mine.

[ Luna chuckles ]

Luna: See? Nice.

Rj: All right, fine. You wanna keep me guessing? I like it. Very mysterious. Hm.

[ Both chuckling ] Tv: Try tide power pods with 85% more tide in every pod.

Thomas: You know, I– I always enjoyed fittings with us.

Hope: Hm. It’s long overdue. You know, when we would, um… and your hands were on my body, I thought that maybe you could hear my heart beating. So fast. And now… I don’t have to hide it.

Rj: So, he wants to do that. Hi, mom. How are you?

Brooke: Hi, rj, ginge.

Ginge: Hi, mrs. Forrester.

Rj: Um, what is it? He wants to also increase dawn and theodore’s hours for the next couple of weeks. And alterations. Let alterations know that they are now exclusive to eric. He has some new designs.

Ginge: Okay. Got it. Yeah, he’s– he’s really been cranking them out. I’ll scan those in, uh, for the server.

Rj: Yeah. Thank you, man. I appreciate it.

Ginge: Yeah. Hey, anytime. You, um, you gonna drop any new content soon? I notice you haven’t posted in over a week.

Rj: Uh, yeah, I just– I’ve just been super busy.

Ginge: Sure there’s anything I can help you with?

Rj: Um, just the scans for now. Thanks.

Ginge: Yeah. Um, I’m on it.

Rj: Thanks.

Ginge: Bye, mrs. Forrester.

Brooke: Bye. I like seeing you around here helping out. Seems like you’re doing a lot of that these days.

Rj: Yeah. Uh, so dad, um, he knows, doesn’t he? He knows that I’m designing with granddad?

Brooke: Uh, well, I was instructed to deliver a message and I couldn’t really do that unless I told your dad that you were working with your grandfather.

Rj: I feel like I should talk to him.

Brooke: Yeah. That would be a good idea.

Rj: Where is dad? Where is he?

Brooke: Well, I– he went to talk to your grandfather.

Rj: Was dad upset?

Brooke: He appreciates what you’re both doing. He really does. He’s just worried about eric.

Ridge: Dad? So, I understand you’re coming after me.

Eric: So, you spoke to brooke, did you?

Ridge: Yeah. Wow. This is, um… hey, oh, I just had an idea. How about this? How about we find a place? Not– not just a place, a whole building just for design and fashion. You want to do that? We could call it, um, forrester creations. Find a little place in beverly hills. May I?

Eric: Yeah. Sure. Go ahead.

Ridge: Rj?

Eric: Mm-hmm. He illustrated my vision for me with my help. Yeah.

Ridge: Oh, man. Wow, you did it.

Eric: I did what?

Ridge: You got rj to pick up a pencil and do something. You– you succeeded where I failed.

Eric: Yeah.

Ridge: This is amazing.

Eric: It is. Bold lines, extraordinary texturization. I mean, you can’t teach that.

Ridge: No, you can teach that. That’s eric forrester. It’s a signature right here.

[ Eric chuckles ] Thank you for teaching rj. Makes my heart sing.

Eric: That’s not all that’s going on here, you know. Mentoring rj.

Ridge: I know, I– I know that I, but, um, how about this? How about… we take some of these designs and put them in the couture line? Could we do that?

Eric: Your collection?

Ridge: I–

Eric: Not interested. This is my line, ridge. Not yours. This is my grand finale.

Hope: You sure you’re good with this? Can you handle it? Yes?

Rj: So, what are– what are you saying? Are you saying dad’s concerned?

Brooke: The toll it could take on eric designing a whole new collection. Besides, we already have a full lineup.

Rj: And– but he’s got me to help him, so–

Brooke: And we’re very excited about that. That you’re giving design a try. You know this is a dream come true for your dad. I just hope it doesn’t come at the expense of your father’s relationship with your grandfather.

Eric: So, what do you think? Oh, you’re gonna give us notes now, right?

Ridge: I’m not. No, I’m not. That’s not what I’m doing at all. I’m– I’m just– I’m happy that you got rj to design stuff.

Eric: It’s in his blood, ridge.

Ridge: It is. I couldn’t agree more. It’s in all of our blood, right? Three generations of forrester. Look, I– I get thomas to join us and all of us will do something together.

Eric: Wait, all of us? On your line?

Ridge: That’s not–

Eric: That’s not gonna happen. You know, ridge… you’re not listening to me. I need this.

Ridge: You need what?

Eric: I need– I need the excitement and– and the limelight and the stress. Just like it was in the beginning for me.

Ridge: Okay, and why do you need that now? What, you– you’ve proven yourself over and over again.

Eric: And this is my chance to do it one more time. One more beautiful line. That’s what I wanna do. And I tried to tell you this, but– but you dismissed me.

Ridge: I didn’t dismiss you.

Eric: Yes, you did. “I’m too busy running the line. I’m too busy running the company.” The company that I founded.

[ Ridge scoffs ] You gave me a million reasons why I shouldn’t do this. And you know, that’s what convinced me that I needed to do this without you. And that’s the way it’s gonna be. You’re not gonna talk me out of this.

[ Ridge exhaling ] What?

Ridge: I wish mom were here.

Eric: [ Chuckles ] Why? So, she could gang up on me too?

Ridge: No! No one is ganging up on you, you crazy old loon. She would see her eric forrester. The man she loved so much. His passion, his desire… however misguided it may be. You know what? Fine, do it. Do your collection, I’ll do mine. We’ll let the buyers decide. We’ll settle it on the runway. Deal?

Eric: Deal.

Days of Our Lives Update

Days of Our Lives logo

Update written by Joseph

Talia walks through the town square with flowers and runs in to Belle. They greet each other and Belle asks about the flowers. Talia responds that they are for someone very special and she doesn’t know how she got this lucky..

Chanel’s phone lies nearby with a missed call from Talia as Chanel and Johnny kiss. Johnny talks about being taken by surprised and says he was determined to get her back after talking to EJ. Chanel jokes that he was heading for the door and she had to drag him back. Johnny admits he wasn’t sure how this was going to go and he misread her signals. Johnny talks about things being complicated for them which is why he thought she was telling him that she wanted to be with Talia. Chanel assures that it’s Johnny that she wants to be with as they continue kissing.

At the hospital, Jada questions Joyce about who hired her to kill Ava Vitali. Joyce swears that no one hired her and claims that she is a nurse and was there to treat Ava. Jada doesn’t believe her and warns that she can either go down for attempted murder or she can roll on whoever is paying her and maybe they can cut a deal but it’s her choice.

EJ talks to his contact at the hospital on the phone, questioning how long Jada has been in Joyce’s room. EJ tells him to make sure no one knows that he called him. EJ declares that it’s up to him now to shut her up.

Rafe and one of his cops go to the motel where Rafe explains that Harris was identified at the nearby pizza place from his photo and the desk clerk confirmed a man and woman in the room they approach. Rafe warns that Ava and Harris have both killed before, so he instructs him not to hesitate if he has to use deadly force. Rafe then kicks the door in and they enter with guns raised but find the room empty.

Tripp tells Wendy that he’s sorry they had to cut their night short. Wendy questions him apologizing when he just found out that someone tried to kill his mother. Tripp insists that he knows it was EJ and wonders where his mom is now. Tripp says he’s just going to drop his bag in his room and then go to the computer to see if there’s any news. Wendy says she will do the same and walks away. Tripp then heads in to this room and finds Ava and Harris inside.

Rafe and his cop search the room but find nothing. Rafe finds the pizza is still warm and remarks that it looks like Ava and Harris missed dinner and they missed them. Rafe finds their hospital ID bracelets and states that they cut them off and took off. Shawn then arrives so Rafe questions what he’s doing there.

Tripp hugs Ava and thanks God that she’s okay. Tripp asks her what happened. Ava explains that a nurse that she’s never seen came to inject her with something and she knows a hired gun when she sees one. Ava insists that EJ sent her. Wendy then comes in, shocked to see them. Tripp introduces Ava to Wendy and explains that Wendy was with him when they found out about them. Tripp adds that the police are hunting for them. Harris explains that they used the fire escape and the stairs to get in through the window. Tripp notes that they spoke to the police at the Salem Inn. Harris and Ava conclude that they should be safe for now.

Joyce claims to Jada that she doesn’t have a name to give her and that she’s never even held a gun. Jada brings up that Bayview has never heard of her and she’s not on the payroll. Joyce claims that she doesn’t work there as an agency sent her to cover for someone who was sick. Jada asks for the name of the agency. Joyce argues that Ava shot her and that her and Harris are in this together. Jada points out that they are on the run. Joyce argues that she has her all wrong and that she’s never seen Ava before in her life. Jada then brings up the burner phone they found on Joyce and reads the text message, asking if Ava is out of the picture yet. Jada then asks if Joyce is ready to talk.

Talia tells Belle that after all the bad stuff she did to Chanel, she feels so lucky to get a second chance. Belle says she’s happy for her. Talia says she’s been getting a lot of second chances lately and it all started when Belle became her lawyer. Talia talks about Marlena being great as her therapist and how Kayla got her a job at the hospital. Talia declares that now maybe her and Chanel have a future. Talia adds that she just called her about coming over but she hasn’t called back yet, so she’s trying to decide if she should wait or surprise her. Belle votes for surprise. Talia takes one of the roses and gives it to Belle to give to her husband. Talia thanks Belle for everything she’s done for her and walks on.

Rafe questions Shawn again what he’s doing here. Shawn says it’s a manhunt and he heard Rafe’s call for backup on the police scanner, so he figured he’d come see if he could help. Shawn asks about this being where Harris and Ava were holed up. Rafe informs him that the call for backup was for officers on duty and Shawn is off duty. Shawn argues that he’s here and they obviously came up empty, so he asks Rafe to give him an assignment. Rafe says he appreciates it but this is not a normal day for Shawn. Shawn remarks that nothing gets past him and questions what he’s supposed to do. Shawn complains that Victor is not coming back so he wants something to do. Rafe tells Shawn that it’s not a good idea because he’s drunk.

Johnny tells Chanel that he can’t believe he hasn’t been this happy in a long time. Chanel admits that she doesn’t know what she’s going to do about Talia because she really does like her, but it was never what they had. Johnny agrees that nothing has ever come close. Chanel says they are so lucky that this is happening now before things got serious with Talia. Chanel adds that she will have to let Talia down easy because she’s vulnerable right now. Talia then shows up at the door with roses.

Tripp assures Ava that she’s safe here for as long as she needs and anyone that comes to the door will have to go through him. Tripp asks how Harris figures in to this. Ava responds that if it wasn’t for Harris, she would be dead right now as he rushed the woman before she could get a shot off. Tripp recalls Harris showing up with an exploding pizza the last time he saw him. Wendy points out that the last time she saw him is when he showed up at Stefan and Gabi’s engagement party and tried to kill the groom. Harris states that he had been brainwashed and he’s just trying to move forward, so the only reason he’s here is to help Ava. Tripp asks if Ava really thinks going on the run is the smart idea. Ava then informs Tripp that EJ’s mother is alive.

Jada asks Joyce if the text message hit a nerve. Jada tells her to stop wasting her time and tell her who was behind the hit, then she will talk to the district attorney. Jada tells Joyce that all she has to do is tell her who ordered the hit on Ava Vitali. EJ then enters and instructs Joyce not to answer that question.

Shawn claims to Rafe that he’s not drunk. Rafe tells him that he can smell it on him. Shawn admits he had a couple drinks after the funeral but that won’t stop him from doing his job. Rafe orders Shawn to get out or he will take his badge and suspend him, warning that he’ll be out of a job. Shawn argues that he has a lot of nerve talking to him like that. Rafe reminds Shawn that he said he was going to get himself together. Rafe tells him to think about Belle and his daughter. Shawn agrees to go but Rafe points out that he’s in no shape to drive himself. Rafe then instructs the other officer to get Shawn home safely and says he has work to do.

Ava tells Tripp about her visions of Susan and how she was telling her that she wasn’t telling the truth about the accident. Ava says she didn’t understand until Harris had Marlena hypnotize her and she had a memory flash. Ava explains that she remembered before the crash, seeing Susan get out of the car and run away. Ava guesses she just blocked it out, but since remembering, she’s had more visions of Susan. Ava talks about Susan having strange psychic powers and appearing to her more than once. Ava thought it was a hallucination but now she’s convinced that it’s really Susan trying to reach out to her. Harris adds that they figured out from a reference Susan made that she might be in London. Ava says they need to go there to find Susan as it’s the only way to get EJ off her back. Tripp points out that she just escaped custody so he questions how she expects to get out of the country. Ava says that’s where Tripp comes in as he is her only hope.

Jada tells EJ that she was just having a little trouble convincing his friend to tell her who hired her to off Ava Vitali and suggests that he could help her with that. EJ asks if she’s implying that he’s her employer. Jada asks why else EJ would rush in to tell her to keep her mouth shut. EJ responds that he is her attorney.

Talia surprises Chanel with roses but then sees Johnny and says she didn’t mean to interrupt. Chanel says she’s not and that Johnny was just leaving. Johnny says he’ll see them around and exits. Talia excitedly tells Chanel about the flowers and guesses she missed her call, saying she wanted to come over because she just had to see her again because last night was so much fun. Talia suggests they could watch a movie or bake something together. Chanel stops her so Talia asks if something is wrong.

The cop escorts Shawn through the town square and says he was ordered to take Shawn home, but Shawn refuses to go and tells the cop to go away. Belle intervenes and tells the cop that she’s got this so he leaves. Belle tells Shawn that she didn’t know where he went and she tried calling him. Shawn explains that Harris and Ava escaped Bayview tonight and Rafe put out a call for backup, so he went to his location but Rafe told him to get lost. Belle questions Shawn wanting to work tonight like this. Shawn asks why everyone keeps saying that. Belle responds that it’s because he’s drunk.

Talia assumes Chanel already had plans and asks what it is. Chanel informs Talia that Johnny didn’t just stop by, he came to tell her that he still has feelings for her. Talia guesses it must not have been easy to let him down. Chanel reveals that she didn’t.

Shawn tells Belle that he’d like to just be able to have a couple drinks after a day like today without everybody freaking out. Belle argues that he knows why she and Rafe reacted this way since he’s been struggling and all the drinking isn’t helping anything but making it worse. Shawn tells Belle to try to understand what his life is like. Shawn complains about getting flashes of images of having a gun pointed at his dad and now he’s in a coma while his grandfather is dead. Belle gets that he blames himself but says that’s so wrong, sad, self destructive, and not true because he’s not to blame. Belle tells Shawn that if therapy isn’t working then maybe they should consider a residential facility. Shawn refuses and declares that he’s not an alcoholic. Belle wants him to be somewhere where he can work through this in a safe environment. Shawn questions if she’s saying he should be in a mental hospital. Belle cries that he needs more help than she can give him. Shawn argues that Belle can’t be honest with him.

Jada questions EJ being Joyce’s lawyer and says he has to be kidding. EJ says he’s a proud and active member of the BAR. Jada argues that he must be psychic because Joyce hasn’t been able to call a lawyer. EJ responds that he watches the news and he knows Joyce is a victim so he will stand by her in her time of need. EJ says the state chose to put Ava in a mental facility instead of prison after killing his mother and this shooting is the result of that. EJ says he doesn’t know why the police are harassing Joyce but promises to do everything in his power to get them off her back, if he has her trust.

Ava says they obviously need passports to get out of the country and can’t use their real names. Harris notes that he has contacts for that but it’s going to take awhile. Tripp agrees to be the person they deal with for that. Wendy asks what happens in the meantime. Ava says until they can get the passports, they need a place to hide out. Wendy calls that a problem since Li lives here too and he’s dating Melinda Trask. Harris agrees that’s a problem. Tripp adds that the cops will be asking questions so it’s not safe for them unless they can get the passports in the next couple of hours. Harris assures it will take longer than that. Wendy then declares that it won’t.

Jada asks Joyce if she’s going to take EJ’s generous offer. Joyce claims that she doesn’t know EJ but she’s in no position to be choosy so she asks EJ to get her out of this situation. EJ declares the interview is over and tells Jada to focus on Ava Vitali. Jada warns Joyce that she’s making a big mistake as she knows the holes in her story. Jada adds that the offer still stands in case EJ doesn’t have her best interests at heart. Jada then exits. Joyce tells EJ that Jada scares her. EJ says to leave Jada to him and assures that she did the right thing. EJ then asks Joyce to tell him why Ava Vitali is still breathing.

Wendy reveals that she can get the passports they need right here right now as she used to make fake IDs for underage teenagers. Harris points out that there’s a difference between drivers licenses and passports. Wendy responds that all she needs is an actual passport to doctor. Wendy and Tripp then reveal that they both have their passports. Tripp assures that if Wendy says she can do it, she can. Ava points out that they have no other options. Wendy asks them for names and settles on character names from her favorite movie. Wendy then takes pictures of Ava and Harris for their passports.

Talia guesses she walked in before Chanel could tell Johnny about them. Chanel says she did tell Johnny how she feels and she didn’t let him down. Talia starts to cry as Chanel explains that she wasn’t expecting any of this and she thought she and Johnny were just friends when she started seeing Talia. Talia guesses Chanel now wants to be more than friends with Johnny which she confirms. Chanel calls Talia a good person who has been through hell and still found a way to put her life back together. Talia tells her that she doesn’t have to give her a pep talk and that she should’ve known everything was going too well for her. Talia cries that it was too good to be true and she knows she doesn’t deserve Chanel. Chanel argues that she does deserve all the good things happening for her right now. Talia says just not Chanel. Chanel says she’s really sorry. Talia blames herself and remarks that she should’ve never told her how she felt as she storms out.

Belle asks Shawn when she lied to him. Shawn brings up Belle going to help Philip without even telling him that he was alive. Belle says that Chloe asked her to become Philip’s lawyer which meant she couldn’t tell anyone that he was back. Shawn complains that there are other lawyers but Philip wanted the one he slept with. Belle calls that ancient history. Shawn remarks that Belle cheats on him every time they have a problem and brings up the last person was EJ. Belle tells him not to do this. Shawn talks about how he’s supposed to get over Belle sleeping with EJ, just like putting Bo in a coma and his grandfather being dead. Belle asks if they can just go home but Shawn argues that she just said he should be a mental hospital. Shawn declares that he’s going somewhere where he won’t be judged for everything he does and feels as he storms off. Belle calls Shawn, leaving him a message to call her.

Talia goes to the Brady Pub and sits alone with a shot. Talia thinks back to her relationship with Chanel. Shawn enters and sees her drinking, so he asks to join her.

Johnny paces at the DiMera Mansion, telling himself that he knows what happened. Chanel then shows up at the door.

At the hospital, Jada tells Rafe about EJ showing up in Joyce’s room to say he’s her attorney. Rafe assumes she accepted which Jada confirms and that EJ told her to stop talking to her. Rafe questions when EJ ever did something nice for someone he didn’t know. Jada says they’ll get a warrant to check EJ’s phone to see if he sent the texts to the burner phone. Rafe says at least someone got somewhere tonight, since when he got to the motel, Ava and Harris were already gone. Jada states that they are going to be really hard to find as long as Ava still thinks she’s in danger from EJ. Rafe declares if they can’t find them, they’ll just have to track that bastard down themselves and he’s willing to work overtime on that.

Joyce informs EJ that Ava had help getting the gun from her as another patient got in the way. EJ acknowledges that other patient was Harris Michaels, a former Navy SEAL, so Joyce is lucky to be alive. EJ declares that if Ava thinks Harris will keep her safe from him, she’s in for a rude awakening.

Ava says this is not what she expected when they came here as Harris praises Wendy for the passports, calling them the best fakes he’s seen. Ava hates to say it but they should hit the road. Tripp points out the passports are great but they won’t help if EJ tracks them down. Tripp asks if they’re sure this is the right decision. Ava responds that she has to find Susan as everything changes once she does. Ava hugs Tripp and instructs him to tell the cops that he saw her but couldn’t stop her from leaving which is basically the truth. Tripp agrees to tell them that he has no idea where she is. Ava thanks Tripp and Wendy. Tripp tells Ava to come back safe. Ava assures that’s the plan and hugs him again. Ava and Tripp say I love you to each other. Ava thanks Wendy again. Wendy wishes her luck. Ava tells Harris that she’s ready as they then escape through the window.

Victoria: Hi, dad.

Victor: Hi, sweetheart.

Victoria: I would ask what brings you by, but I’m pretty sure I already know.

Victor: Oh, yeah? What would that be?

Victoria: You’re wondering how I feel about nicholas’s decision to not come back to newman enterprises.

Victor: And?

Victoria: Well, I can’t say that I’m surprised thanks to his distrust of nate, which is ironic as hell since he agreed to work alongside adam, and who is more untrustworthy than adam?

Victor: Mm-hmm. I think, um… adam has learned his lesson.

Victoria: Oh, really? What pathetic show has he put on for you this time? Did he tell you about his troubled youth? His parental neglect? Did he tell you that he’s a new man now, he’s turned over a new leaf, he wants to prove himself to you?

[ Victoria sighs ] Dad, please tell me you’re not getting pulled in by adam again. It makes me so sad to see him keep hurting you.

Victor: I believe him. And I think once nicholas calms down, he will return.

Victoria: Well, I’m really sorry, but that’s not a chance that I’m willing to take. I think we need to move forward based on what nicholas has said, not what he might do. Which is why I am lobbying to promote nate immediately as co-ceo.

Nate: Scotch neat, please.

Audra: Well, you’re all sunshine and rainbows today.

Nate: Aren’t I always?

Audra: Mm. Of course. Except when you’re brooding over a drink.

Nate: Never brooding. Thank you.

Audra: Planning your next move? So, what’s going on?

Nate: Well, for starters, nick’s not coming back to newman enterprises. And nikki is still taking over newman media.

Audra: Tell me about it. I’m working under a woman who wouldn’t trust me to watch her purse for five seconds. It’s just, um, it’s a dream come true.

Nate: Yeah, we both have a lot of work to do if we’re gonna turn nikki newman around about us. But it will be more than worth it.

Audra: Yeah, we can only hope. So, why are you in such a good mood? It can’t just be because you no longer have to report to your girlfriend’s brother. Oh, wait a minute. I get it. Nick’s no longer coming back to newman enterprises. Nikki is still taking over newman media, which means… the second-in-command position at newman enterprises is vacant. Did victoria offer it to you?

Nate: Not yet.

Audra: Huh. But it’s so close, you can taste it.

Nate: It’s the logical move.

Audra: But you don’t really think it’s gonna be that easy, do you?

Esther: Sharon tells me that her new venture with you and nick imploded, and so she’s moving forward on her own, which leaves you out in the cold again.

Adam: I can tell you were just sick about it.

Esther: What do you expect?

Adam: You know, maybe someday, you could remind me what I’ve done to make you despise me.

Esther: What, are you kidding me? One word. Chloe.

Adam: Look, I have done everything in my power to make sure that your daughter might have a change of heart about me.

Esther: Well, she doesn’t hate you anymore and you can thank your lucky stars for that, but she doesn’t trust you either.

Adam: Yeah, she’s in a lot of company there.

Esther: You know, I believe in change and second chances. I mean, we all deserve that much. But you have had all the second chances in the world and you have wasted every single one of them. It’s a crime. You could do so much better, but you don’T. No wonder no one thinks you’ll ever change.

Nikki: I’ll second that. Believe it or not, I’m glad I ran into you. May I have a word in private?

Announcer: Additional sponsorship provided by…

Tucker: Your mother is fine, abby. She’s in paris thinking some things through. And I did nothing to upset her or hurt her, okay? So, nice seeing you.

[ Abby scoffs ]

Abby: No. No. I am not going anywhere until I get some answers. Some answers I actually believe. What did my mom have to stay in paris to think about? I mean, it was your honeymoon for god’s sake.

Tucker: She is reconsidering starting a new venture with me.

Abby: Why?

Tucker: You’ll have to ask her.

Abby: Just like that?

Tucker: Yeah, just like that.

Abby: So, you did nothing to initiate this change of heart? I mean, this decision just came out of nowhere? No. No, I am not buying it. You must have done something. Something to upset her, something to push her away.

Tucker: Of course I did because I’m just so diabolical, aren’t I? I just have no shred of human decency. Can’t even keep promises, can I? For your information, I did everything right this time, abby, everything. But your mother is incapable of seeing that I have changed. And what neither she nor you seem to understand is I have my limits too.

Audra: I fully understand you think you have victoria’s support on lock, okay? But let’s not forget you already have two strikes against you that could prevent you from becoming newman enterprises’ co-ceo.

Nate: How can I forget with you here to remind me?

Audra: Strike one. Victor is so conscious about trusting you.

Nate: And strike two?

Audra: Nikki flat-out hates you.

Nate: Okay, you’re giving me too much credit there. Nikki wouldn’t waste that level of emotion on me. She wouldn’t trust anyone with victoria. Not after locke. But I’ve made great strides in convincing her of my sincerity and my value to the company. As for victor, he asked for my opinion about the mccall-kirsten merger and he followed my advice after we talked about it.

Audra: Hm. So, in other words, um, they’re still testing you. Nate, just face it. Victoria is not going to defy her parents if they oppose promoting you. And even if she does, my money would be on her losing that battle.

Nate: I think you’re underestimating victoria’s power over her parents.

Audra: Oh, really? Was she able to stop victor from handing mccall unlimited to adam?

Nate: Victor’s relationship with adam is a separate issue. That’s bulletproof.

Audra: Keep telling yourself that.

Nate: Audra, what is going on with you? We’ve both been pulling for each other’s success from the minute that we met. Now, you’re dumping all this negativity on me.

Audra: It’s not negativity. Look, I’ve been shot down enough times to know that things never work out the way you think they will. Okay, so word of advice, don’t ever think you’re invincible. Always have a backup plan. Because no matter how hard you try, no matter how smart and dedicated you are, you will never be a newman. Which means you will never be in the inner inner circle, so you should just do yourself a favor and stop pretending that it will happen.

Adam: So, I assume that you spoke to victor?

Nikki: Of course, I did. Victor and I talk about pretty much everything, so yes, I heard about your mea culpa performance. How you wanted to hit the reset button and start all over again.

Adam: Nikki, what if it isn’t a performance?

Nikki: What if pigs fly? Victor is understandably skeptical. When it comes to you, there is a part of him that desperately wants to believe you are sincere.

Adam: And as always, you don’T.

Nikki: No, not for a second. I see this as a hollow attempt to change, but you and i both know that that will fail miserably, or you’re trying to tear this family apart yet again.

Adam: Nikki, why would I want to do that?

Nikki: Because that’s what you do. You can’t accept that victor cares about you, so you screw him over to prove that you don’t need him. Whichever it is, back the hell off. Stop this before it starts. ‘Cause I am telling you, if you try to hurt your father again, I will make it my mission to destroy your life and every connection to people you care about.

Victor: I don’t think nate hastings… is ready for a promotion of that magnitude.

Victoria: And I think that you’re wrong, daddy. I work very closely with nate, as you well know, and I’ve seen firsthand the value that he adds to newman enterprises, day after day after day.

Victor: No, you’re right. And that is the reason he already has a position of great power.

Victoria: Yes. And now there is a vacancy for an even more powerful position, available immediately. A position that I have every faith that he is more than qualified to fill.

Victor: And I have decided who’s gonna fill that chair. It ain’t gonna be nate hastings.

Dehydrated hair? For

Summer: Hi, you two!

Chance: Oh, my gosh, hey! Welcome back from milan. How’d it go?

Summer: It was great. It was a success on all fronts, both, uh, personally and professionally.

Chance: Yeah.

Summer: I– I’m feeling a lot stronger. Like a– like a whole new woman.

[ Chance chuckles ]

Sharon: Well, that’s great to hear, summer. Good for you.

Chance: Yeah. Yeah, you seem a lot better. I got to admit, I was, uh, worried.

Summer: Frankly, I was, uh, a little worried about me too. But you– you helped me through one of the roughest times of my life. I mean, you were really there for me as a friend and I really needed one. You know, we got off to kind of a rocky start.

Chance: Yeah, well, uh, arresting your mother for murder did make it a bit awkward.

Summer: Yeah, but believe me, I know where the blame for that lies and it’s not with you.

Sharon: You were in a terrible position, summer, but you came out on the other side.

Summer: Wasn’t pretty as i was going through it though. But actually, thanks to one of our conversations, I ended up on a roller coaster, screaming my lungs out and it was kind of amazing how cathartic that was. So, thanks for that too.

Chance: Well, I’m glad I could be of service, ma’am.

Abby: Tucker. Tucker, no, no, no, no, no. You don’t get to just blow me off by telling me you don’t have anything to do with whatever happened to my mom. I want information, and I’m gonna get it.

Tucker: You do what you need to do.

Abby: You know, considering your history with my mother, can you blame me for assuming that you’re behind whatever this blow up is?

Tucker: You know what I assumed? I assumed your mother could extricate herself from this– this abbott clan of yours and start a life with me. Look where it’s got me. Back here. Alone, humiliated and heartbroken.

[ Abby sighs ] None of which I have been known to handle gracefully.

Abby: Meaning?

Tucker: Meaning you stay the hell away from me and you tell the rest of the abbotts to do the same. You got it?

Adam: Nikki, in case I have never told you this, I have nothing but admiration for your fierce determination to protect your husband and the rest of the family. And look, I get it. I’ve certainly earned your negative opinion of me.

Nikki: Oh, you think?

[ Adam sighs ]

Adam: Look, I– I know that there’s nothing that I can say that’s gonna make you believe, uh, the words that I said to victor about this seismic change, but if you would just give me a chance, I will prove you wrong.

Nikki: No, no, no, no, no. You are not understanding me. I am done giving you chances. So, unless you walk away from your father and the family and any hope of returning to newman, I will make sure that all hell will rain down on you. No grace period, no chances it’s over. You have 24 hours to drop whatever scheme you’re plotting against victor or I swear to you, you will regret it for the rest of your miserable life.

Victoria: Please tell me that you’re not suggesting what I think you’re suggesting.

Victor: What do you think I’m suggesting?

Victoria: If you’re planning to instate adam as my co-ceo, you can count on the fact that I’m gonna walk right out that door with nicholas. You’ve busted him for the billionth time for what? A– another blackmail scheme? Again, his arrogance?

Victor: Will you calm down?

Victoria: No, I will not calm down.

Victor: Will you calm down? I do have plans for adam. They’re not what you think they are.

Victoria: Well, I’m afraid to even ask what they might be. He will start at the bottom. Work himself up the way you did.

Victoria: Dad, please. This is all just a ploy and I’m not buying it, I’m sorry.

Victor: You finished?

Victoria: No, I’m not. I– I’m not, I have another question. So, what is your big plan for my newly rehabilitated brother? If you’re not gonna hand him the co-ceo position of newman enterprises, who are you handing it to, dad?

Victor: You. Around here, we like to keep things simple and honest.

Victoria: You want me to be the co-ceo of newman?

Victor: Mm-hmm. I’ll take over the reins, you’ll be my co-ceo and nate hastings will be answering to you.

Victoria: You’re demoting me?

Victor: I’m just taking over the reins of the company again, okay?

[ Victoria scoffs ]

Victoria: But my work has been exemplary. My reliability goes without saying. I’m trustworthy to a fault.

Victor: True.

Victoria: What are you doing this for then? W– why? Just to– to prove that you can? Oh, what is it, daddy? Are you bored with your semi-retirement? You feel like you need to find another sense of purpose? But do you really think it’s a good idea to just rip the rug out from underneath me? Really?

[ Victoria scoffs ] How did I not see this coming?

[ Victoria chuckles ] Oh, my god, this is exactly the kind of unpredictable earth-shifting move that you always make. You always do this. And you know, it’s no wonder that nicholas keeps walking away because he’s learned the hard way that dedication to this company, it means nothing, absolutely nothing, unless your name is victor or adam newman.

Victor: You will still have power. You make the day-to-day decisions. But I… will retake the reins of this company that I built because I’ve noticed lately that things around here seem disjointed. So, I will take over. Is that clear?

Victoria: Well, let me tell you, this hardly feels like unity. You’re either pushing or driving everyone away!

Victor: I don’t give a damn what do you think!

Nikki: What– what’s happened now?

Audra: Is that your third or second? I think nate’s an alcoholic. I think half of genoa city is.

[ Laughs ]

Tucker: Is that seat taken?

Audra: Um, no.

Tucker: Oh, you guys are so inseparable lately. It’s beginning to get a little creepy.

Audra: Um, it’s called friendship, tucker. You should try it sometime.

Tucker: Friendship?

Audra: Yeah.

Tucker: Thank you. From what I’m told, friendship requires trust. Trust is a dangerous thing, let me tell you, ’cause it will disappoint you. It will betray you. [ Scoffs ] So, I would advise you strongly not to trust each other.

Nate: What happened to you? A week ago, you were on top of the world. Don’t tell me you managed to blow it up already.

Tucker: I haven’t blown up anything, nate. Not yet.

[ Mariah sighs ]

Devon: Hey. There you go.

Mariah: Thank you so much.

Devon: You’re welcome.

Mariah: You are a lifesaver.

Devon: I take it you had a rough night with aria?

Mariah: Uh, it’s more like aria had a rough night with me. As much as I am trying to be strong and stay calm, I don’t know. I think she’s picking up on my anxiety or something.

Devon: Mariah.

Mariah: And I– I really, really appreciate you and abby offering to let me come stay while tessa is away. I– I want you to know that. I just– I do wonder if I made a mistake saying yes.

Devon: No, no, you didn’t make a mistake at all. Just tell us whatever you need to make you and the baby feel comfortable and we’ll get it for you.

Mariah: And you guys have. You guys have. It’s– it’s not about– it’s not about making me comfortable. It’s just– I don’t really know what I was thinking, you know, taking aria away from everything. Her room and with tessa being gone, I just– I disrupted her life so much, and– and I just– I don’t know how I could have done that because I love her so much.

Devon: Of course, you do. Of course, you do. You think she doesn’t know you love her? You think she can’t feel that every second of every day? You wanna know what I really think?

Mariah: I do. Yes, please.

Devon: I think that you’re just feeling overwhelmed and you’re scared and you’re imagining the worst possible things at every turn, which I get, ’cause we all do that from time to time, but you have to remember that wherever you are, that’s home for aria. Because when she’s with you, no matter where you are, she’s safe, she’s loved, and she’s being taken care of and that means she’s a very, very lucky little girl.

[ Door slams shut ] Hey.

Abby: Hey.

[ Abby sighs ]

Esther: Oh, looks like nikki gave you an earful.

Adam: Well, you know, nikki is never shy about holding back her feelings, but yes, she did rip into me and you know what? I deserved every bit of it. Which makes me even more determined to stay on the new path.

Esther: Oh, does that new path send you right out of town? ‘Cause they might just throw you a parade, hm. When it comes to your hair, ingredients matter.

Announcer: The young and the restless will continue. What can you do with sensitive skin?

Sharon: So, that leaves nick and me in charge of kirsten incorporated.

Summer: Yeah, my dad, uh, mentioned that before he headed to the east coast. He– he was saying that you’re both glad that you’re not gonna have to work with adam or deal with my grandpa’s interference anymore.

Sharon: I’d say that’s accurate on both counts.

Summer: Well, I– I’m really happy for both of you. I mean, how great is it that you’re gonna be working together again after all these years?

Sharon: I know, right? Who would’ve thought?

Summer: So, does my mom still have a place in this business or…

Sharon: Um, well, nick and i still have to discuss–

Chance: Ladies, I’m sorry to interrupt, but I have to run. I have a meeting to potentially discuss becoming the next chief of police.

Summer: What? Chance, that’s fantastic.

Sharon: I’m sure that rey is cheering you on up there right now.

Chance: Yeah, yeah, he’s definitely pulling some strings for me too. Bad news is, things might happen kind of quickly, so I got to pass on the invitation on west, but rain check, all right?

Sharon: That’s a promise.

Summer: So, my dad’s, um, covering the east coast and you’re covering the west coast?

Sharon: Yeah, that’s our plan.

Summer: Well, I, uh, wish you a very successful trip. And, um, break a leg. [ Laughs ]

[ Chance laughing ]

Abby: Mariah, you know, devon and I had the same concerns when chance and I split up and dominic was going back and forth between here and the penthouse, so I totally understand how you feel.

Devon: Yeah, and we definitely would not be offended if you wanted to take aria back home.

Abby: Yeah, but at least, just give it some thought, because we really do want you and the baby to be around people who love and support you.

Mariah: Well, thank you, I– I will definitely think about it, you know, if and when I can get my head to clear up. So, um– but no, I–

[ Baby monitor beeping ]

Devon: Oh-oh.

Mariah: And you know what, that would be my cue. So, to be continued.

[ Laughing ] Sorry, guys.

Devon: Go for it. It’s all right.

[ Abby sighs ] Okay, talk to me. You came in here like your hair was on fire. What’s going on?

Abby: It’s tucker. I know that he has done something to my mom and all he says is– is that it’s her fault.

Devon: What are you talking about, what happened with them?

Abby: I don’t know. I don’t know, but all I do know is that whatever happened between the two of them is tucker’s fault, and not my mom’S.

Devon: And that’s all he said, he just left it at that?

Abby: Well, one more thing, I mean, he said that the abbotts and I need to stay far away from him from now on.

Audra: Look, as we both know all too well, you don’t always make the best decisions when you’re upset. So, why don’t you go somewhere and meditate, okay? Just reflect for a bit and then, you’ll recognize that this is a sign from the universe telling you it has other plans for you.

[ Phone chiming ]

Nate: Excuse me. Something just came up I have to take care of.

Audra: Okay.

Tucker: I would say you used to know me. Not as much as you assumed, but to a degree, you did. Doesn’t seem like that’s the case anymore though, does it? And you’re in way over your head with him.

Audra: Things really went south with ashley for some reason, didn’t they? Look, I think I know where you’re going with this. Look, and if I’m right, I have to tell you, it’s a bad idea.

Nate: Hey. You’re upset. What happened?

Victoria: My father just demoted me.

Nate: He what?

Victoria: Yeah, yeah. He’s coming back and he’s taking charge, but I do get to be his co-ceo. Isn’t that kind of him?

Nate: Does nikki know about this? I mean, she would never approve. Is this a done deal?

Victoria: It certainly does seem that way. My father feels that without his guiding hand, the company has become weak and it’s become disjointed.

Nate: [ Sighs ] Okay, um, so, what are you gonna do about it?

Victoria: I have no idea what I’m gonna do. I cannot make a decision on something this huge when I’m so angry.

Nate: Good idea. Do nothing until you’ve had a chance to calm down.

[ Victoria sighs ] My active psoriatic arthritis

Victor: Let’s just say she didn’t take it too well.

Nikki: Well, can you blame her? When did you decide to come back to run newman anyway? Why didn’t you tell me?

Victor: I didn’t tell you because I didn’t want you to try to talk me out of it, okay? Besides that, I didn’t want you to tell victoria before I had a chance to do it.

Nikki: You know, I wouldn’t have, if you had asked me.

Victor: Yes, you would have. Had you thought I’d made a wrong move, you would have talked to me about it.

Nikki: Well, I do think you made the wrong move. I mean, not only will victoria feel undermined, but I worry about the stress of you working at newman again, what it’s gonna do to your health?

Victor: Sweetheart, has it ever occurred to you that the stress of not working at newman, of not running this company makes me unhappy? Yes, son? What can I do for you?

Adam: I would like an opportunity to clear up a misunderstanding on nikki’s part.

Sharon: Well, now, if you two, well, excuse me, I have got to get to the airport.

Chance: Yeah. You sure do. I got time to take you before my meeting.

Sharon: Oh, you don’t have to do that.

Chance: I know, but I want to.

Sharon: Okay, well, I wouldn’t want to deprive you. Thank you.

Chance: Good to see you.

Summer: Oh, good to see you.

Sharon: Bye, summer.

Summer: Bye.

Audra: Where do I get the feeling you’re planning on getting back at the abbotts by going after jabot on your own?

Tucker: What difference would that make to you? You couldn’t care less about jabot.

Audra: Right, I’m not worried about jabot. I’m worried about you. Again, as difficult as you make it sometimes, tucker, I do still consider you a friend, okay? And whether you want to accept it or not, I think you really need one right now. You know, to keep you from being your own worst enemy.

Tucker: Thanks.

[ Audra sighs ] My heart failure diagnosis changed my priorities.

[ Sharon laughing ]

Chance: After you.

Summer: Thanks.

Chance: What?

Summer: I don’t know. For not, uh, running in the other direction when you’re faced with my stormy mood.

Chance: Well, I’ve been there, I get it. So, if I can ever help ease the moment, I’m happy to do it.

Summer: So, this really was all friend to friend, right? Not friend to cop?

Chance: Friend to friend. Hey, summer. Rooting for you.

[ Summer sighs ]

[ Knocking on door ]

Tucker: Hi.

Audra: Hey.

Victor: So, son, what misunderstanding of nikki’s are you here to clear up?

Adam: It seems she doesn’t believe that I’m trying to change. That instead of me trying to hit the reset button on my life, that it is a new angle to pull another power play, and she told me to back off. But you know what, I’m glad that you both are together, so you can at least hear what I have to say. While nikki, you have every reason to doubt me. I– I’m not intimidated by you. So, let’s just get it straight. I’m not gonna back down. I’m here to show you what I can do and just how cooperatively I can fall in line, and most of all, to prove to you how wrong you are about me. And dad, I’m here to serve you. So, whatever it is you want, you just say the word and consider it done.

[ Nate sighs]

Nate: Feeling better?

Victoria: [ Sighs ] Yes. You are a miracle worker.

[ Nate laughs ] I’m thinking clearly now. I know exactly what I’m gonna do.

Nate: Oh. Care to enlighten me?

Victoria: I’m gonna fight my father on this. I’m gonna– I’m gonna find a way to prove that he is not up to the challenge of running newman again. I’ll be damned if I’m gonna let him take this away from me.

[ Relaxing music ]

Ridge: Dad said that? He’s, uh, he’s coming after me? I don’t– I don’t know what that means.

Brooke: He told me to put you on notice.

Ridge: Put me on notice. Okay. I don’t know what that means either, but it’s vague, right? But what is– I don’t– I don’t get it.

Brooke: I went over there to talk to Donna about Eric, and RJ was there, found out that he’s designing with Eric.

Ridge: And that’s amazing. How cool is that? He’s finally starting. This is all– all I ever wanted for him. But what’s the other thing you said about Dad and his grand finale collection? What is that?

Brooke: Eric is determined to do this collection alone or at least without you. Seems like he’s in some kind of competition with you.

Eric: See this? This drape here, right along the ground.

RJ: Mm-hmm

Eric: You got that exactly right. Right at the floor.

RJ: Okay.

Eric: Perfect. It’s exactly what we talked about. Nice. And you’ve said you’ve never designed before. I’ve seen your drawings when you were a little kid.

RJ: Granddad, come on. That was just for fun. They’re hardly the couture visions that you dream up.

Eric: Yeah, it’s a– it’s a real curse.

Donna: Oh, please. We should all be so talented. I’m just happy to see you so alive and vital.

Eric: I should’ve helped you with that. I should help you with it.

Donna: No, no. [ Grunts ] I got it.

RJ: You got it?

Donna: I got it. Okay. All right. Uh, Luna, the new intern, um, she’s gonna be over soon with the rest of the supplies you wanted, and, um, I trust her to be discreet. Although, we don’t really have to be now since, uh, Brooke came over unannounced earlier. The secret’s kind of ruined.

Eric: Yeah, she kind of spoiled that, didn’t she? It’ll be all right. It’ll be all right.

Donna: You know, actually, maybe it is for the best and then, you could invite Ridge to join you on this line, right? Like you’ve done for years. Three generations of Forresters working on a single line.

Eric: Now, you know what? That’s a really nice sound bite, but it’s not gonna happen. Ridge considers me obsolete, and I don’t want any of that negative energy anywhere near this line. That’s why I’ve decided to do it without him. Instead, I’m doing it with my talented and loyal grandson.

Donna: How are they feeling? The tremors are getting worse?

[ Knocking on door ]

Donna: Oh, Luna, is that you?

Luna: Hey, Donna.

Donna: Thank you for coming. Come this way. Come.

Eric: Oh, nobody saw her leaving Forrester.

Donna: Over here. I’ll put it right on the– hello! Be careful. Be careful. Right here. Uh, Luna, this is Eric Forrester.

Eric: Hello, Luna. It’s, uh, nice to meet you.

Donna: And Eric’s grandson.

Luna: Hi. I’m Luna.

RJ: Hi. I’m RJ.

Brooke: I’m as confused as you are. Ridge?

Ridge: I don’t know. Dad hasn’t been himself lately. And I think it all started with this story about the stapler I threw out because it was old and it was broken. I think he took that metaphor and thought I was talking about him. It couldn’t be further from the truth.

Brooke: Of course not. But I think you’re right. I think he feels like we all think he’s replaceable.

Ridge: And because of that, now he needs to create his own collection by himself?

Brooke: With our son’s help.

Luna: Yeah, of course.

RJ: Hey, um, thank you so much for the delivery, Luna.

Luna: Yeah, of course. And it’s such an honor to meet fashion royalty.

RJ: Imagine being his grandson.

Luna: I, um, I brought all those supplies.

Donna: Thank you. I knew we could count on you, Luna.

Luna: Oh, wow. Uh, your home is– I have never set foot into a more beautiful home, Mr. Forrester.

Eric: Yeah, thank you. And– and call me Eric, okay? Will you, please? And I appreciate you bringing all this stuff. I really do. So, um, you’re our newest intern, right? How long have you been out of fashion school?

Luna: Uh, still finishing up actually.

Eric: The internship program is pretty competitive. And what is it that, uh, set you apart from the others? What do you think?

[ Luna chuckles nervously ]

Donna: Um… okay. Uh, well, I– she was waiting to interview while I was answering phones and I got swamped. Luna offered to help and pitched right in. And– and– and then– then, we had a really nice talk and, uh, I told Cindy down at HR to hire her.

Eric: Mm-hmm. Did you even look at her résumé?

Donna: Uh…

[ Luna chuckles nervously ]

Donna: What can I say? Um… well, she’s– she’s sweet, capable, a good person. When I looked into her eyes, I knew we could trust her.

RJ: Oh, I see the same thing.

Ridge: So, how’s he doing? RJ? Is he– and how is– how’s he doing?

Brooke: Well, we didn’t really get a chance to talk, but he seemed happy.

Ridge: I didn’t mean that. I meant, like, how, you know. How– how’s he doing?

Brooke: You mean his skill? Are you searching for a critique?

Ridge: I’m not searching for anything. I just, I– I’ve– I’ve wanted this for him for so long that I just wanna make sure that I wasn’t wrong about him.

Brooke: Hm. Well, I can tell you this. I walked into that Forrester mansion like I’ve done a thousand times before and I saw him working with Eric, and it reminded me of you and Eric all those years ago, and there was no doubt in my mind that I was staring at Ridge Forrester, Junior.

Ridge: This is what I wanted, right? For so long, I wanted this. I didn’t even know… our son is designing. I just– when he first came back talking about social media and numbers and–

Brooke: I know you didn’t support that.

Ridge: I’m not– it’s not that I didn’t support it. I just didn’t get it. I st– I still don’t get it. I don’t. But designing? I– I understand it and I think he has more talent than any of us. Don’t tell Thomas I said that.

[ Brooke laughing ]

Brooke: You’re such a proud papa. I know you’re happy that both of your boys are following you in your footsteps.

Ridge: The way I followed my dad.

Brooke: Yeah.

Ridge: I am. I’m very happy.

[ Brooke chuckles ]

Brooke: Oh… but I’m sure your head is spinning at the same time because you may be happy that RJ is now designing with your father, but your father is now making a new collection without you.

Luna: This is pretty surreal. I mean, I just started interning at Forrester creations and now I’m at the Forrester estate making personal deliveries for the Eric Forrester. And I’ve been following you online for years.

RJ: Really? Me?

Luna: Yeah, your posts slay.

[ RJ laughs ]

RJ: Thank you.

Luna: Yeah. And your trip to Egypt, were those sunsets like–

RJ: No filters. It’s just stunning there. Seriously. It’s surreal.

Luna: And now you design, too?

RJ: Yeah. Well, you know, someone’s getting me into it, so…

Luna: Oh, well, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to interrupt your creative process here. Oh, wow. That is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. I can only imagine what it would be like to wear something this gorgeous.

Eric: Well, hopefully one day soon, you’ll get the chance. RJ, I want you to take a look at this. Come here. The way this is draping is not what I had in mind. I like it, but, uh… ow, I…

[ Phone chiming ]

Donna: You need to get that?

Luna: I– oh.

Donna: You– you can just take it over there.

Luna: Yeah.

RJ: I mean, we can’t put–

Luna: Hold on.

RJ: …Tennis shoes on her. She has to be in heels.

[ RJ talks indistinctly ]

Luna: I can’t talk. I’m at work.

Woman: In Los Angeles?

Luna: Yes.

Woman: I don’t know what you’re doing.

Luna: Don’t worry about me, okay?

Woman: Just stay away from the Forresters.

Luna: I gotta go.

Woman: Listen to me, Luna. You stay away from the Forresters.

Ridge: Oh, classic Eric Forrester.

Brooke: What do you mean?

Ridge: What do I mean? He gets an idea for something, then he won’t let it go. This whole collection he wants to do? I thought he was gonna maybe forget about it.

Brooke: Certainly seems like he has something to prove.

Ridge: Certainly seems that way. All my life, it’s been like that. All my life. He gets an idea, and then he just, he’s gonna do it. Somebody pushes back, he just keeps pushing harder. And part of me thinks RJ is gonna enjoy it. It’s gonna be good for him to learn some of that, but… it’s not good for Dad. It’s taxing on him.

Brooke: So, are you okay with this?

Ridge: I don’t know. Okay with what? I don’t even know what they’re doing. They’re doing things in secrecy. RJ’s not telling me. They’re doing stuff in– in the– in the living room. I have no idea what they’re doing. They’re creating something. That makes me happy, but… I don’t know if I’m okay with it. But RJ, he’s designing. Maybe not the way I wanted him to, but–

Brooke: But, he is still designing.

Ridge: Yeah! And Forrester’s okay. What, we’re doing okay here. Tell me I’m wrong.

Brooke: Hope For The Future is killing it. And of course, the couture line is as sophisticated and elegant as ever. And the money keeps rolling in from the men’s line, the bedroom line.

Ridge: You know why? Because we have a plan. There’s a plan and that plan doesn’t include my dad doing another line out of nowhere. I want him to be happy. I want him to do whatever he wants to do, but I don’t want him to get sick because of it. Steffy’s gone. How do we do all this?

Brooke: I know. I agree.

Ridge: Wants me to be on my game. He’s coming after me, huh?

Brooke: Yep.

Brooke: Okay. What’s going on in that head of yours, huh?

Ridge: Nothing.

Brooke: Don’t say nothing. I know you. What is it?

Ridge: You know how much I love my dad, how much I respect him. He taught me everything I know. I would be sitting on his lap, and he’d give me a pencil and we’d start designing together. He allowed me to hide under his desk during business meetings. I had a front seat for everything. I’m so grateful. Everything he’s instilled in me.

Brooke: He did build the legacy of Forrester Creations.

Ridge: He did, and I was part of that too. I think, right? I mean, we created some great collections together. But then he wanted to take a break. He wanted me to take over and I did and he passed the baton and that’s good. He hasn’t really worked that much over the past few years, right?

Brooke: He shouldn’t have to.

Ridge: No, he shouldn’t have to. He should relax, take a break. Also, shouldn’t look like I’m trying to push him out because I want complete control. That’s– although complete control sounds kind of good, huh?

Brooke: Now you’re being bad.

Ridge: I know.

[ Brooke chuckles ]

Ridge: Do I think he has another collection in him? Absolutely. The guy never stops designing. That’s all he does. In his head. Do I think it’s good for him? I don’t. He’s telling me to be on my game. I’m not on my game. I’m playing in a whole ‘nother league now. You know why? Because of you. You inspire me. I don’t know what it is, but look. I– I– every– everything I touch, it’s– this is no eraser at all. This is one time, done.

Brooke: Wow.

Ridge: Because of you. You’re doing that. So, I don’t know what they’re doing in their living room. I don’t care. But maybe he needs to step up his game.

[Indistinct conversation]

Eric: I like this. With this– this– this– flows into the pocket, it’s…

[Indistinct conversation]

Donna: I am the same way. It’s always so impressive and inspiring, really, to see great artists at work like this.

Luna: Mm-hmm.

Donna: This line that he is doing, it’s gonna be the most epic achievement of his entire career. I can feel it.

RJ: Like that arm–

Eric: Exactly.

RJ: That’d be great.

Eric: That’s good. That’s exactly right. That’s what I wanted to do. Perfect.

RJ: Okay.

[ RJ laughs ] Hey, um, is she, uh– is she still watching me over there?

Eric: Yeah. Mm-hmm.

RJ: Bet. That– that’s great, ’cause, you know, I’ve never sketched for a couture before, let alone for an audience, so…

Eric: So, this makes you nervous? I mean, you can you bungee off an abandoned bridge, but this makes you nervous? Yeah?

RJ: Yeah.

Donna: Uh, Luna, why don’t we, um, organize the samples over here?

Luna: Okay.

Donna: Yeah? Right this way. Oh, by color scheme.

RJ: Thank you.

[ Eric chuckles ]

Eric: I don’t want you to feel uncomfortable at all in any of this stuff. Designing with me or feeling uncomfortable about being stuck between… between your parents and me.

RJ: No. I don’t. I– really, I don’t, okay? I meant it when I said that I believe in you and I believe in this collection, okay?

Eric: That means a lot to me. You have no idea. I mean, I have the experience, but– but you… you have the technique and– and the expertise to bring it to life. I can’t tell you how much it means to me to be the founder of this company and to have my, well, my son and now, my grandson following in my footsteps. You’re this fine young man. And I tell you what. And the– the tone in your voice and the– the time you spend with me, you’re the anointed one, you know?

[ RJ laughs ]

RJ: The anointed one?

Eric: Yes, the anointed one. Yes. The only child of Ridge and Brooke. A lot comes with that. Observe this. Follow me, learn from me.

RJ: I’ll learn from you.

Eric: Yeah. You’ve brought so much to me. You bring… more energy and– and more focus than I’ve had in my life for a very long time. And I’m gonna use that. I’m gonna use that to bring this– this new collection. This solo collection of Eric Forrester originals to life. And I can’t imagine a better team than us to do it together.

RJ: Come here.

Eric: Yeah. Yeah.

Adam: Father.

Victor: Hi, son.

Adam: To what do I owe the pleasure? Let me guess. You’re here to take a victory lap after exiling me from newman media. Well, go ahead, dad. I probably deserve it.

Victor: That is not why I’m here.

Adam: Then you’ve had a change of heart and you’re here to apologize to me?
Victor: I’m not here to apologize, nor am I here to gloat. I’m here as your father to see how you’re doing.

***********************

Adam: I don’t know. Where we go from here is anyone’s guess. Water?

Victor: Thank you, son.

Adam: I, uh, I already made amends to Nick and Sharon and I know that my life probably needs a complete reset before I self-destruct. Probably sooner rather than later.

Victor: Be more specific.

Adam: Always a stickler for the details, huh?

Victor: Son, the devil lies in the details.

Daniel: Hey. Good morning.

Heather: What’s left of it.

Daniel: What are you talking about? I mean, I’ll have you know, that I already put in hours at the office and I’m only here because I was meeting Lucy to have breakfast, who you just missed.

Heather: I know how hard you’ve been working, I– I– I– I didn’t meant to–

Daniel: Didn’t mean to what? Joke with me? You can joke with me. It’s okay.

Heather: Okay, thanks. You know, it’s just, I know what it has taken to get to this good place for you and– and I guess I just– I really want to make sure I’ve made that clear.

Daniel: You have. What’s, um, what’s going on with you? Um, I really wish that my mother didn’t grill you about moving back to the states and living here. I– I hope that she didn’t put you too much on the spot there.

****************************

Diane: Uh, it’s soon, but gives us time to plan.

Jack: A– a– about that, um, do you think you could trust me to handle all of the arrangements, so that it could be a surprise for you?

Diane: What are you up to? Come on, give me a hint.

Jack: Well, a hint would be counter to the whole idea of a surprise. Oh, you’re trying to break my resolve, aren’t you?

Diane: Come on, just a tiny little hint.

Jack: Okay, um, it will be dazzling and it will be a reflection of who we are and what we have.

Diane: Hmm. I’m intrigued.

Jack: Yeah.

Billy: Productive meeting.

Jack: As a matter of fact, it was. Uh, we were discussing our wedding reception.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

[ Vehicle approaches ] Hm! I’d know that car anywhere. Five, four, three, two, one! Lucy! What a surprise. Ha. Is it, though? Is it really a surprise? We’ll see. Hey, chase, have you seen my — phone? Yes. You left it in the bathroom again. Thank you. I know I should not check my social media while I’m blow-drying my hair, but it’s a bad habit. Mm-hmm. Oh! Well, that’s a good habit. I’ll say. I’m almost tempted to suggest that we call in sick for work, but I know you’d never consider it, right? Well, you know I can’t call in sick. But maybe… just maybe… …I could show up a little late.

[ Knock on door ] Hi, chase. Hi. Brook lynn here? Mason: Ava. What are you doing here? The gallery’s not open. Door was unlocked. Well, the sign says “closed,” and I have nothing to say to you, so — ava, shut up! You set us up. The boss is pissed. That’s not good. I was just playing with donna’s paper dolls. She was, like, making a parade or something. Yeah. I heard all about it. The celebration for when daddy comes home. Yeah. Let’s just say things haven’t been great in donna’s dollworld the last few days. Yeah, I know. So? How’d you explain to her what happened? I just told her that the fbi made a mistake and I had to stay with the fbi until they cleared it up and, uh… everything’s — everything’s good now and there’s nothing to worry about. We both know that’s not true. Anna. Hey, it’s dante. Look. I just want to let you know I haven’t forgotten about you. I’m just waiting on confirmation on something, and once I have it, you’ll be interested to see it, for sure. So, um, I’ll talk to you soon. Okay. Bye. You’re up. Yeah, you too. You had an early class? I did a little yoga, yes. And I feel centered. You should try it sometime. Maybe I will. Mmm! Seeing as you’re centered, maybe it’s a good time to talk about what to do about our friends the fugitives. Sasha? Sasha! Sasha? Hey! Sasha!

I’m relieved and grateful that the charges against you were dropped. Thank you. And not just because of the kids. I mean, I don’t want to see you suffer. I feel the same way. I don’t believe for one second that the fbi made a “mistake.” They obviously had enough evidence against you. So what happened? The feds were expecting something not exactly legal, and what they found was… incredible coffee. Which you only receive at the warehouse, never at the pier. And you never ship coffee in the middle of the night, so there must have been a reason for you to have it at the docks. It’s almost like you knew the fbi was gonna bust you. Well, I didn’t know that was gonna happen, but I did, you know, lay some false breadcrumbs to feed my enemies. What enemy? That’s what I’m gonna find out. And I will. You made a real mistake trying to play the boss. Leave, mason, or I’ll call the cops. You’re trespassing.

[ Chuckles ] Really? You’re gonna call the police, ava? When I have evidence that you murdered your ex-husband? Don’t forget who has the body with your dna all over it. We had a deal. I did my part. No. We know what you did, ava. The deal was that you help us. In exchange, you get the body. But you — you decided to double-cross us. That is absolutely untrue! The evidence, the — the information that betty brought back was false! It was a setup! That means sonny was warned, and the only person that could have done that was you, ava! Did you come to discuss the case or do you want to make a deal? First, I’d like information. I understand. So there’s a thing called discovery. It’s what lawyers do. Your lawyer can contact my lawyer, and all of your questions can be answered… in six months when the trial — if and when we go to trial. And, by the way, discovery ends I think two weeks before the trial. I know that. And you know I don’t have time to wait. I need answers now. I understand. But unfortunately that’s not the way the legal system works. You are going to have to be patient. Is there something else I could help you with? You know, lucy, this could all go away. 75/25. I’ve taken the liberty of drawing up the papers. There’s just a few places to sign, and I’ve marked them.

[ Chuckles ] Gee. Thank you so much. I am not signing anything. Isn’t that why you’re here? To make a deal? No. There’s no deal. Can we just stop this? Can we stop and just drop the pretense, okay? I know you don’t have any of the schematics on the deceptor. I — I know that. Prove it. Prove you got something. You know? Show me what you got. Maxie. Hi. I was just about to head to the office. Oh, that’s what I thought. And your new digs are on the way from my new digs, so I figured I’d take a chance and see if you were still here. Can I get you a cup of coffee, maxie? Oh, no, chase. I don’t want to hold you up. I know how much policing you have to do this afternoon. And with mac as commissioner, I know what a demon he can be about his officers being on time, so… yeah, you’re right about that. I’m gonna skip that lecture today. Thank you very much. I love you. Don’t work too hard. -Goodbye, maxie. -Bye, chase.

[ Door closes ] So? How’d the move go?I didn’t stop by to catch up. Why did you give the deceptor information to tracy? The best way you can help cody and sasha is to stay as ignorant as possible. Hm. Yeah. The problem is, I can’t ignore that a friend of mine escaped a mental facility and took one of its patients with him. Yeah, but we’ve been over this last night. You need deniability. Look.

[ Sighs ] I get it, and I appreciate that you want to protect me. Well, of course, I want to protect you. I love you. And I know you love being a cop. And I don’t want you to do anything to compromise that. I get it, but… I love you… and I want to protect you, too. Oh. Yeah. It seems I’m not the only one who could be compromised by this whole thing. I got an update on the case, and for helping cody, you made yourself an accessory to kidnapping and assault. Wait. What assault?

[ Sighs ] Cody attacked sasha’s psychiatrist, a guy named dr. Montague. Wait. Did you just say dr. Montague? It feels so good to breathe fresh air. To smell the forest instead of disinfectant. Good morning, sasha. I have no idea how long I was at ferncliff, but… I remember laying on that bed just wishing that I was outside… feel the sun on my face… to breathe freely. And here I am. Because of you. So you’re not mad at me for busting you out of there? I’ve never been more grateful to anyone in my life.

[ Chuckles ] Yeah, you’re welcome. Well, aside from being able to breathe freely… how are you really feeling? I’m confused, cody. What actually happened last night?

Any word on the apb on cody bell and sasha gilmore? No sightings yet, sir. Alright. Let me know immediately the moment that changes. Commissioner. Deputy mayor. A word? The fbi busts sonny corinthos… then lets him go. And meanwhile, we’ve got two escaped mental patients running around. What the hell is going on here, mac? What do you remember, sasha? I remember being in more pain than I’ve ever felt. I remember being terrified that someone — you — were gonna hurt me. But you didn’T. You sat with me. You helped me. You had pretty severe withdrawal symptoms. The doctors and the nurses keep saying that I was using, that I had someone slipping me drugs. But I swear, cody! I didn’t! Hey. Sasha.

[ Stammers ] I know. I believe you. Why? Why would you? Everyone knows that I have gotten clean before and then relapsed. There’s a huge stigma in the meetings against people who slip back into using. Why wouldn’t you think that I’ve gone the same way? Well, two reasons. One, you told me. And, two, I know exactly who was drugging you. It was dr. Montague. I ran into dr. Montague, literally, at G.H. When we were there for cody’s evaluation. Look. I didn’t think anything of it at the time. I-I didn’t know he had anything to do with sasha. And I accidentally spilled a cup of coffee on his phone, and I was, like, washing it off, and a call came in from a “gladys.” Not a very common name. No, it’s not. Dante, this could be the smoking gun that proves that gladys messed with sasha, just like cody said. And if dr. Montague is the psychiatrist… or — or…

because he’s sasha’s psychiatrist. Gladys called him to get an update on her prognosis because she’s sasha’s guardian. Okay, well, there is a-another thing that I didn’t — I didn’t tell you. So, I mentioned something offhand about playing cards, and he said that he had a game that he played in regularly and said that there would be a spot for me. I got the feeling he was talking high stakes. The game at the savoy. Poker game in the back room. And we both know that gladys loves to gamble. So maybe gladys met dr. Montague there. Come on, lucy. You should know better than to ask me that. Hm. What I want to know better is why. Why do you think you actually own the rights to the deceptor? Do you even have a prototype? Do you know the word “prototype”? I can’t believe you don’t understand that I will not comment on that. Just tell me. How did you get it? My lawyer told me not to discuss the case. There isn’t a case! All you have is your attempt to steal the deceptor through legal intimidation! You know what I think? I think this is about you. You want to get revenge on me ’cause you can’t stand your nasty, miserable life. Hm. Tempting bait. But I won’t bite. There’s a deal on the table, and you are here because you realize this is your best and only option. So why don’t you save us a lot of trouble? Just give me what I want. 75% of deception. Why would I? Sonny and I have been fighting over our daughter since the day she was born. So you’d want to get in his good books. That — that’s absurd. He would wonder what kind of leverage you had over me, and then I would have to tell him about nikolas’ accidental death. And then he would take avery away from me in a heartbeat! I did exactly as I was told. I got betty hired. I made sure that she had open access to sonny’s home. Now, if betty screwed up and got you bad information, well, I think that’s your fault for using someone incompetent. It certainly has nothing to do with me. All I know is dr. Gatlin-holt and his cousin mason work for this person, and they pressured ava into getting information about me. Pressured ava how? I mean, do they have something on her? Are they blackmailing her? That’s need-to-know, carly, and I don’t think you need to know. I need to know if you’re protecting ava.

As you can see,it’s quite straightforward. All you have to do is sign and then you continue working at the company and you reap the benefits of the deceptor and anything else deception expands into. Did you come here to waste my time? 75/25 is off the table. I did not put my heart and my soul into a company just to give it away for some measly percentage. No. I do understand. After all the work you put into the company, it would be difficult to give up any amount, any percentage. So if not 75/25, what would you be amenable to? Well, you know, deception is a whole lot more than just the deceptor. So I guess if — and that’s a great, big, fat “if” — you came up with a similar product at the exact same time and can prove it, then maybe I would settle for… 50/50.

[ Laughs ] Lucy. Lucy, you’re way off base. 65/35. It’s complicated, maxie. So I take that as a “yes.” You stole the information and gave it to tracy. Maxie — I don’t know why I didn’t see this sooner. You left deception because you wanted to get back into music, and then all of a sudden, you’re — you’re back. Lucy was under the impression that I rehired you, but you led me to believe that lucy had when the whole time you were really working for tracy. You took advantage of our friendship and my trust so you could steal information about our most valuable product! Yes, maxie. That’s exactly what I did. What are you doing about it, mac? We have an apb on the two ferncliff inmates. It’s cody bell and sasha gilmore. Sasha? She was committed right after stabbing cody. Is it possible he may have taken her for revenge? It’s highly unlikely. Look, I know cody. I’m convinced he means her no harm. Sounds like you might have an idea why he took her. It’s been reported as a kidnapping. I don’t think it was a kidnapping. Okay. I’ve learned to trust your instincts, but that doesn’t change the fact that they are fugitives and have to be found.

[ Police radio chatter ] How can I help you? Agent moss. I’m here to see commissioner scorpio. He’s in the interrogation room. I can show agent moss in. -Thank you. -Right this way. Mac: Come in. Mac, I have agent moss here for you. Bring him in. I assume you’re here with information on the sonny corinthos case. The person I’m protecting, carly, is avery. It’s not — it’s not good for her to have her mother put in the middle of something shady. What did ava do? Uh, she came into my place looking for something, and she didn’t get it, and then they made it look like pilar messed up so ava would fire her. Pilar was a setup? Yeah, and then they pressured ava into hiring betty, which is their plant. So mason and austin sent betty to get information on you, and ava had to go along. Oh, my god. No wonder she was so worried about betty. I was wondering why she hired someone she didn’t like. She didn’t have a choice. I didn’t have a choice. So what I did was switch the game. Instead of betty playing fetch with them, I had her deliver a parcel from me. Which was…? Exactly what they were looking for. But, you know, brick and I, we kind of made a few modifications. You gave them false information. So austin and mason must have taken the bait back to their boss. That’s why you asked me about austin’s visit to pentonville. So you think their boss, your enemy, is someone inside pentonville. Cody admitted that he was playing poker for selina wu, and he said that gladys was in there and she lost big. Well, that’s convenient, seeing as gladys controls all of sasha’s money, right? Not to mention she sold brando’s garage. Do you think she’s really using these funds to repay debts? Yeah, I do, dante. I mean, it certainly seems like that. Just think about it. Sasha was doing so much better. Maxie was going around telling everyone how well she handled that tv show, and sasha was working so hard to end her conservatorship so she can have control of her own assets. And if sasha was able to do that, she would have seen what gladys was doing with the money and gladys wouldn’t have wanted that to happen. No. Gladys had to make sure sasha stayed “mentally unfit.” So gladys must have met montague at the poker game and gotten him to help her do something to sasha. Son of A… dante… dr. Montague gave me injections. He — he said that they were to help me get off the drugs. But I kept telling him that I wasn’t on any drugs. I never bought anything from anybody. Okay. Alright. Now, sasha, this is — this is really important. Okay. When you went live on that show, “home & heart,” you did great, right? Y-you kept your cool under a very stressful situation. Were you on any medication at all at that time? Just my antidepressant. I have been taking them for eight months, but they were prescribed by my old psychiatrist. Okay. Well, what about after that? Any other medications? Yes. I was taking the pills dr. Montague gave me.

So you admit it, and you’rejust gonna stand there like you stole my yogurt from the work fridge. No, maxie. Okay? I am not trying to minimize what I did. I am so, so sorry. But I swear I had no idea what tracy was gonna do with that information about the deceptor. Really? Yes. I mean, you, better than anyone, should know what a schemer tracy is. Did you think she was just too cheap to buy one so she was gonna build one for herself? She said she wanted to know about it. Tracy always has an agenda, brook lynn! You had to know she was gonna use that information against us! I was desperate, maxie! I owed tracy big-time, okay? And this is how she collected. Listen. Maxie… when chase was kicked off the police force for defending me, I was supposed to write a letter to help him get reinstated, but I hesitated because I was too selfish, you know, too scared of losing him. But I knew I had to fix it. So I went to my grandmother. She said she could pull some strings, get him a second hearing. It was like an angel had come down to earth to right all of the wrongs. Well, that angel quickly turned demon when she threatened to go tell chase unless I got her the information on the deceptor. And you know how much chase hates being manipulated. Stop! I have heard enough.

[ Scoffs ] We are not in high school anymore, brook lynn. You put my job, my livelihood at risk because you couldn’t be honest with your boyfriend?!

[ Scoffs ] Didn’t he break up with you once before because you lied to him? Have you learned nothing? You are absolutely impossible. Lucy, you really don’t have any other options. You can let deception slide into oblivion as the case drags on for months with appeals and delays. Then, of course, you’ll have your real-estate business. I think the quartermaines have some swamp land in putnam county that you can offload. 60/40. Okay? That way, you get to keep control ’cause that’s what you love, is control, and I keep a decent share. But…there will be a clause that you cannot remove me as ceo and you cannot take me off

any of my board positions. Okay? Lucy… throughout our history, there is one thing I have come to bank on. You’re a grifter. You’ll always take care of number one. But I do understand that the disparity in our percentages is disconcerting. Even a tiny amount could be humiliating. So I am feeling extremely generous today. How about 51/49? That’s just a 1% difference. 51/49. Really? Deal. Hm. Okay, well, then, uh, I guess we’ll get in touch with each other to draw up that paperwork, shall we? Lucy. There’s one other detail. The deal is contingent upon you returning the 1% voting rights in elq. Commissioner, I’d like a private talk. Deputy mayor ashford was the police commissioner before she took over for the mayor. And she worked for the dea. Detective chase is one of our finest. Anything you can say to me, you can say to them. When we arrested sonny corinthos and raided his shipment, we were acting on information that he was illegally transporting classified weapons. The charges were dropped because there was nothing in the crates but coffee. Sounds like sonny was one step ahead of you. He was. But he won’t always be. I have a few ideas who my enemy might be inside pentonville, but I’m not quite sure. But the — the only connection there is is between my false information that betty stole and my arrest is gatlin-holt’s trip to pentonville. I had them both followed after betty delivered the goods. Mason went to some “working girl.” And austin went to pentonville. Oh. That mason sounds like a great guy. I’m thinking austin, uh, was there to give some information to someone. And then, in turn, the fbi got it. I think they’re trying to take me down or they’re just trying to get points with the feds. Or both. So you need to know who austin saw during his visit at pentonville. Well, that’s where you can help me out. Really? If you’re willing. Sonny didn’t get where he is by being stupid. He’s more than capable of picking up on that sociopathic gleam in betty’s eyes. You know, maybe betty’s sweet act wasn’t as convincing as you thought it would be. Has that ever occurred to you? Well, maybe sonny realized that she was a plant and he decided to turn the tables. And that would — yeah, I’m pretty sure that would make this your fault, wouldn’t it, mason, for using the wrong operative. Not a story I’d want to take back to my boss. Well, take this back to your boss. I did my part. I just want this to be over. I didn’t say anything to sonny! I don’t intend to say anything to sonny! My life and the lives of the people I care about matter too much to me. We’ll be in touch.

I-I’m sorry. Just — I’m sorry. I — just — ugh! I’ve never — I’ve never liked gladys. You know? She just — I just didn’t trust her. And she just — she seemed all moneygrubbing. And — and she — she lied all the time. But I thought she was basically harmless, you know? And she was sonny’s family. A-and mike liked her. I mean, poor brando, man. I mean, he was a good guy, and he had gladys as a mother? And I thought, you know, when he — when he died, that — that she cared and she would want to do right by his widow. But — but I guess not. I mean… cody saw through her. Hey, hey. Hey. You had no way of knowing. No, sam. I’m a detective. I mean, come on. I was blinded. You know, cody was talking about her for months, but my — my own stupid misgivings about him, like, messed up my judgment. I mean, you knew. You knew. Y-you said it. Why didn’t I listen? Why did I let it get this far? After my second session with dr. Montague, he gave me some pills for anxiety. Okay, well, what was the prescription for? It — he just gave me a bottle of pills. Told me to take three a day, which I did. You didn’t even know what you were taking? I’m sorry, sasha. Cody, it — it all started then. I remember I was feeling so impulsive, full of energy. I-I wanted to celebrate everything. And I had no control. I was — I couldn’t keep track of things, but I-I didn’t care. That’s when the shoplifting incident happened. You were taking the pills the whole time? Three a day. Montague was drugging you long before you got sent to ferncliff. But why, cody? Why would he do it? This goes no further than the room. Mac: Of course. We believe mr. Corinthos

is involved in the trafficking and sale of these restricted weapons. While we haven’t been able to prove it, this is an ongoing investigation with suspected ties to both the government and private sector. We’ll continue to monitor corinthos. What does the fbi expect from the pcpd in terms of cooperation? Corinthos has a son here in the department. Detective dante falconeri. He was present at his father’s arraignment. If there’s any reason to suspect that detective falconeri is feeding sonny information or providing any kind of assistance, we want to know about it. You have been waiting years and years and years to spring this on me, haven’t you?! You can’t stand the fact that I have 1% of your family legacy. You wormed your way into my family by taking advantage of my brother’s weakness. You had an affair with him when he was married to monica. Okay. So we’re gonna bring this up now? Okay. Really? Really?! You know, monica was to blame, too, because she slept with your son ned. The point is… you blackmailed me into appointing you co-ceo. That is one of my biggest regrets. And that is ancient, ancient history! Why in the world are you dredging that up now?! Because I am here to prevent the quartermaine ship from running aground. Somebody has to get this family back on course. And if my son can’t do it, then I have to do it. Lucy coe, you have clung to my family like a barnacle. And it’s time we scrape off everything that doesn’t belong. And that means you. 1% voting rights in elq! And that is my final offer!

Never. Ha. We’ll see.

[ Door slams ] Listen to me. I know how this sounds. And I am not making excuses. But I love chase, more than I ever thought was possible, and all I cared about was getting him his badge back. And when he did, when things were looking up for us, I just — I didn’t want to ruin it. I was weak, maxie. So I gave in to tracy’s demands. And when I — I finally mustered up enough courage to stand up to her, I was too late. She already had the information on the deceptor. Why didn’t you come to me? After everything we went through with bailey lou. Why didn’t you trust me, brook lynn? We could have schemed up a solution together. Instead… you betrayed me.

Hello to you, too. Our mutual friend just left. Oh, I think she’s gonna fold. No. This is a perfect time to come and visit. Port charles is beautiful in the fall. You’re right. In hindsight, I-I should have come to you. I would have helped you. I don’t know. I — I was just too ashamed, too stupid. I thought I could handle it. Handle tracy? I had no idea what she was planning, maxie! I could never have foreseen sasha’s meltdown or the fact that the deceptor would be our only moneymaker. I could have never planned for any of that. Maxie, look. I messed up. And I will do everything in my power to make it right. Okay? I’ll — I’ll come up with a social-media campaign against tracy, and it’ll go viral. Come on, maxie. We can still — we can handle this. We can make it right. That’s not gonna happen. I’m not gonna let that happen. You’ve proven you cannot be trusted. You’re fired. No. Maxie, please. I’ll work for free. Please. Just let me make it right. Brook lynn… that ship has sailed.

[ Door closes ] Austin, where the hell are you? Your cousin was just here again making crazy accusations. I can’t take this anymore. And I’m telling you, austin, if he drags me under, you’re coming down with me. Am I willing to help you get the answer? Am I willing to help you, period? I mean, there was a time when I would have jumped in. I would have said “yes” immediately. But now, you know…

[ Chuckles ] Not so much? Is this gonna endanger drew or affect his sentence in any way? No, not at all. I don’t know. Sonny, so much has happened, you know? So much has changed between us. I understand.

Do you understand or are you just saying that because you want me to do what you want me to do? No, I understand that things have changed, but one thing

hasn’t changed — that, you know, like, y-you would do anything for me, I would do anything for you. And, you know, I’m always there for you. I know. And I know you wouldn’t ask me if it wasn’t serious. And if someone’s gunning for you, that means they can come after my kids. So, yes, of course, I’m in. What do you need me to do? I’ll tell you on the way to pentonville. How could you have known what was going on? Gladys is a snake, and she’s cunning, and she had to keep sasha in the guardianship so she could have access to her money. And that meant convincing everyone, including you, that she had sasha’s best interests at heart. Bottom line is I should have just listened to cody. I didn’t — I didn’t believe him at first. But, I mean, come on. He hasn’t exactly been 100% honest with either one of us. No. I know. He hasn’t, but… he said sasha was being drugged the whole time. Even after she stabbed him, he said it wasn’t her. I mean, what did — what did — how long has she been on these drugs? What is she taking? I-I don’t know. We will figure that out. The important thing is that cody cared enough to go into ferncliff and get sasha out. I think he saved her life. I got to see him. I got to talk to cody. You gotta trust me, baby, and take me to where they’re hiding. Cody, I never even met dr. Montague until he was assigned to evaluate me. What possible motive could he have for drugging me? I’m guessing that he was being paid. Paid? By who? By the person who did have a motive. Your mother-in-law. Gladys.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

Mrs. Brady! Hi! Oh, Belle, please. Okay, Belle. Wow, those are pretty flowers. Are those for you or someone special? They are for somebody really special. I don’t know how I got this lucky.

Oh, you, uh, You really took me by surprise there. I mean, after I talked to my dad, I was determined to get you back, but then I Determined? You were headed for the door, I practically had to drag you back in here. Well, I wasn’t really sure, I was The whole thing was gonna go. I misread your signals. You and I, we’ve always been complicated.

Less. So I just assumed that it was gonna stay that way. You know, which is why… I thought you were telling me what you would tell you. Well, then I have to get better at sending signals. Because… It’s you. I want to be with Johnny. It’s you.

What part of who hired you to kill a Vitaly do you not get? No one hired me, I swear. I was there to treat Miss Vitaly, not kill her. I’m a nurse. Like hell you are. Look, the way I see it, you have two options. You can either dummy up and go down for attempted murder, or you can roll on whoever’s paying you and maybe we can cut a deal.

It’s your choice.

It’s not a trick question. I just want to know how long the detective has been in there. Bloody hell. Just make sure no one knows you called me.

Well, it’s up to me now. I have to shut her up.

I was with the manager down the block at the pizza place. He recognized Michaels from a photo in the paper. The desk clerk, he made a positive ID of the woman in the room. Be careful. Tally and Michaels, they’ve both killed before. The situation calls for… Don’t hesitate to use deadly force. Gotcha. Alright, yeah.

I’m sorry that we had to cut our night short. Are you really apologizing? Tripp, you just found out someone tried to kill your mother. Not someone. EJ DiMera paid for that hit. I just know it. God knows where my mom is now. I’m just going. I’ll dump this bag in my room, and you can hop on the computer and see if there’s any more news on the search.

Yeah, I’ll do the same. I’ll meet you back in the living room. Like sand through

the hourglass, so are the days of our lives.

Nothing.

It’s not warm. Looks like they missed dinner and we missed them.

Son of a… They cut off their hospital ID bracelets and took off. Damn it! Sean, what are you doing here?

Mom, thank God you’re okay. You are okay, right? Mm hmm, yeah. Okay. Tell me what happened. Well, a nurse that I’d never seen before came in to give me a shot. I know a hired gun when I seen one. Yeah, I heard that you shot her. Look, EJ sent her. I’m sure of it. Oh my god, this, this. Wendy, uh, this is, this is my mom.

Wendy was with me when we found out about you guys. From the police, I assume? They’re hunting for you both. Yeah, figured. Okay, well, if you didn’t walk through the lobby… We used the fire escape, stairs, and I jimmied the window. Where were you guys when the cops caught up with you? The Salem Inn. Okay, good.

That means we should be safe. For now. What

name you wanted to hear? I’d give it to you, make this go away, but I don’t. I hate guns. I never even held one. Still sticking to the nurse story, huh? Well, the hospital administrator at Bayview, they’ve never even heard of you. And you’re not on the payroll. I don’t work for them. An agency sent me to cover for someone who was sick.

I’ll need the name of that agency. Look, I don’t know what this crazy lady told you, but she shot me. She and the guy who grabbed the gun, they’re in this together. She hasn’t told us a thing. And neither has he. They’re on the run. And that’s not enough to convince you got me all wrong. I’ve never seen that lady before in my life.

Hmm. Interesting. Because there’s an unread message on this burner phone you had on you. Shall I read it?

Why haven’t I heard from you? Is Ava out of the picture yet? You know, this is what we call in the detective business, having the goods.

So, are you ready to talk?

You know, after all the bad stuff that I did to Chanel, To get a second chance like this, I just feel so lucky. Oh, I’m so happy for you, Talia. You know, I’ve been getting a lot of second chances lately. And it all started when you became my lawyer. I mean, your mom, she’s great. She helped me understand what Colin was doing to my head, and Dr.

Johnson at the hospital, she brought me on a staff to work at the university hospital. Oh, really? I didn’t hear that. How? Yeah, it just happened. But now, maybe Chanel and I have a future. But, I just called her and told her that I wanted to come over, but she hasn’t called me back yet. So, I’m trying to decide if I should just wait, or…

If I should surprise her. Oh. Ah, well, I always vote for surprise. Never underestimate an armful of flowers. Well, Here. Here’s a surprise for you to give to your husband. Thank you so much for everything that you’ve done for me. Seriously.

Sean, I asked you a question. What are you doing here? Um, I mean, this is a manhunt, right? I heard you call out on the police scanner to get some backup, so I figured I’d come here and see if I can help. So, uh, This is where they were holed up. Um, Uh, Ava and, Ava and Michaels. Sean. Call for backup was for officers who were on duty.

Uh, yeah, I mean, so what? I mean, it’s obvious that you, you, you came up empty here, so why don’t you give me, um, I mean, like, give me an assignment? I appreciate that, Sean, but you, you realize this is not a normal day for you? Yeah, nothing gets past you, does it? Excuse me. What the hell am I supposed to do?

Just sit there in the mausoleum all day. Right? Victor’s not coming back. They put him in the wall. So gimme something I, no, gimme something to do. Sean. Go on an assignment or something. Okay. Sean, listen to me’s. Not a good idea. Okay. Like why the hell not? Because you’re drunk.

Wow. I, uh, I can’t believe it, I haven’t been this happy in a long time. You mean you care? I just… You just what? I, I don’t know what I’m gonna do about Talia. I mean, I really do like her, Johnny, but… It was never what you and I had. Nothing’s ever come close. Not for me. Not for me either. Oh Johnny, we were so lucky that this is happening now.

Before things got serious with Talia. But I’m gonna have to let her down easy. She’s really vulnerable right now.

Hey, you’re safe here for as long as you want. Anybody who comes through that door is gonna come through me. How does he figure to know this? Oh, honey. If it wasn’t for Harris, I would be dead right now. He rushed the woman before she could even get a shot off. Last time I saw this guy was in Seattle and he showed up with an exploding pizza.

Tried to take us all out. And the last time I saw him was when he crashed Stefan and Gabby’s engagement party and tried to kill the groom. I I’ve been brainwashed. And I’m sorry for everything I did. And I’m just, I’m just trying to move forward. The only reason I’m here is, is to help your mom.

Okay. Okay, then, tell me. Do you really think going on the run is a smart decision? The cops know what went down at Bayview. They know that you shot the woman in self defense. Okay, hold on. What? Look, there is something about EJ you don’t know. Look, he doesn’t even know it. What are you talking about? His mother is alive.

I had a nerve with that message, didn’t I? Good. Now stop wasting my time and tell me who was behind the hit. And I’ll talk to the DA. All you have to do is tell me who hired you to kill Ava Metalli. Do not answer that question.

How dare you tell me that I’m drunk when I’m most certainly not. I mean, what do you want me to do? me to walk a straight line? Or do you want me to stand on a foot? I can smell it on you. Look, I had a couple of drinks after the funeral, so what? A couple of drinks is not going to stop me from doing my job.

Get out of here, or I’m going to take your badge, and you’re going to be suspended. Okay? Get yourself together, or you’re going to lose this damn job. You know, you got a lot of nerve talking to me like that. Listen to me, okay? You told me you were going to get yourself together, alright? I can’t control you.

If you want to do this to yourself, that’s fine. You hear me? But think about what you’re doing to Belle. And what about your daughter?

Fine, fine, you know what? I’ll go. No, no, no, no, no. You’re in no shape to drive yourself. Can you make sure that Officer Brady gets home safely, please? I got work to do.

So you started seeing Susan? Yeah. A couple of weeks ago. And she told me that I wasn’t telling the truth about the accident. Which… I didn’t understand, I couldn’t make any sense of it, so Harris suggested that I have a session with Marlena, which I did. And I had a memory flash of the night of the car accident.

Look, right before it exploded, I remembered seeing Susan get out of the back seat and run away. I don’t know what happened. I must, I must have just blocked it out. But since then, since I remembered, I have seen Susan more times. I’ve had, I’ve had visions of her. But some… Now you’re saying they’re visions.

Susan has strange powers. Psychic powers. She has appeared to me more than once. And the last time it was earlier today. And listen, at first I thought it was a hallucination. But now, I am convinced it was the real Susan. And she’s trying to reach out to me. Yeah, and we, uh, figured out from a reference that Susan made that she might be in London.

So we need to go there. We need to find Susan because it is the only way to get EJ off of my back. You just escaped custody, Mom. How do you expect to get out of the country? That’s why you come in. Trip you are my only hope.

Mr. DiMera, what a pleasant surprise. I was just having a little trouble trying to convince your friend here to tell me who hired her to off Ava Vitale. Maybe you can fill in the blanks. You seem to be implying that I’m her employer. Well, why else would you rush in here and tell her to keep her mouth shut?

I said that because I’m her attorney.

Surprise!

Oh. Um, I didn’t mean to interrupt. No, no, you’re, you’re not. Johnny was just leaving. Thanks for coming by. Uh, yeah, absolutely. I’ll um, I’ll, I’ll, I’ll see you around, Chanel. And you too, Talia.

Here. They’re beautiful. I know, right? I got them at the flower cart in the square. And I just had to buy them for you. I’m guessing you missed my call, huh? Oh, I, I, I guess I did. Oh, I wasn’t saying anything. I was just saying how I wanted to come over. Because I just had to see you again. Last night was so much fun.

But don’t worry, I’m not going to make you go bowling two nights in a row. I was just thinking maybe we could watch a movie or bake something together. I know how long it’s been. Oh yeah, just hang on. Okay. Is something wrong?

The commissioner told me to take you home. Please get back in the car. I don’t want to go home, okay? Listen, you’re not going to get any trouble. Just say that I pulled rank. Seriously, go. Get out of here. It’s okay, officer. I’m his wife. I got this.

Wow. Look who’s here. Well, I didn’t know where you went. After Chelsea left, I’ve been trying to call you. What’s going on with that officer? Uh, Escava Vitali and Harris Michaels, they escaped Bayview tonight. And Rafe put out a call asking for backup, and I went to his location, and… He told me to get lost.

You wanted to work? Tonight? Like this? Why does everybody keep saying that?

You know what? I am such an idiot. I was just going on and on about what we could do tonight, and I’m assuming you already have plans. What is it? Something with your mom? No. Then what is it? Johnny, he, he didn’t just stop by. He came to tell me that he still has feelings for me.

Oh. Well, that must not have been easy for you. You know, to let him down after saying something like that. I didn’t.

You know what I would like? I would like to just be able to have a couple of drinks on a very difficult day like today without everybody freaking the hell out. You know why I’m reacting this way, Sean. And why Rafe did too, okay? You’ve been, you’ve been struggling and all the drinking, it’s just not helping anything.

It’s making it worse. Damn it, Belle, can you, can you at least try to understand what it’s like, what my life is like? I get these flashes, these images, these images of me holding a gun to my dad. And instead of, instead of just pointing it at his leg, I’ve got it pointed at his head. Okay? And now, now he’s in a coma, and that could be permanent.

And on top of that, my grandfather’s dead. I get it. I get it. I get that you blame yourself. And oh my God, Sean, that is so wrong. self destructive, and it’s just not true. You are not to blame. Listen, I have been doing some thinking. Oh, you’ve been doing some thinking, huh? Well, that’s, uh, that’s never a good thing.

Stop it. Just stop it. Just listen to me. If the therapy isn’t working, then maybe we should be considering, like, a, a, a residential facility. A rehab? No, no, Belle, no way in hell. No, I’m, I’m not an alcoholic, I keep telling you that, okay? Listen, I, I just want you to be somewhere where you can work through this in a safe environment.

Oh, okay, so you’re telling me that you think that I deserve to be in a mental hospital? No. I am telling you that I, I, you need more help than I can give you. Yeah, you can’t give me that help and you obviously can’t be honest with me either.

You’re her lawyer. You’ve got to be kidding. I’m not kidding at all. I’m a proud and active member of the bar. Hmm. Well, you must be psychic too. Because our friend here, she just got out of emergency surgery and she hasn’t even had the opportunity to call anybody. I do watch the evening news. This poor woman is a victim, who I’ll stand by in her time of need.

The state chose to put Ava Vitale in a mental facility instead of prison after she killed my mother, and this shooting is the inevitable result of that. I don’t know why. The police are harassing you, but you can rest assured that I will do everything in my power to get them off your back. That is, if I have your trust.

Well, obviously we need passports to get out of the country, but we can’t have our real names on those passports. Yeah, and I have contacts for that, but it’s gonna take a little time. Yes, you want me to be the person that they deal with. I can, I can handle that. But what happens in the meantime? Okay, well, until we can get the passports, we’re gonna need a place to hide out.

Well, that’s a problem. My brother lives here too, and he’s dating D. H. Trask. They hang out here sometimes. Yeah, that definitely is a problem. Yeah, and the cops are gonna be back here asking me more questions. I mean, it’s not safe for you here unless you can get those passports in the next couple hours. A couple hours?

It’s gonna take longer than that. No. It won’t.

What’s the matter? Don’t you want to take Mr. DiMera’s generous offer?

I don’t know you, Mr. DiMera, but I’m in no position to be choosy, so… If you can do anything to get me out of this situation, just do it. You heard her. This interview is over, so why don’t you put your energy into locating Ava Vitale. And remember, she’s armed and dangerous. Honey, you are making a big mistake.

I can blow big holes through your story and you know it. But you know what? The offer still stands. Just in case Mr. DiMera here doesn’t have your best interest at heart.

She scares me. Leave it to me. You did the right thing. Now tell me, why on God’s earth is Ava Vitale still breathing?

I can get you those passports you need right here, right now. How? Well, back in my ramen and boiled water days, I made fake IDs for underage teenagers. Nobody ever had a problem with them. Yeah, but there’s a big difference between a driver’s license and a passport. Even if you could reproduce the inside pages, you can’t magically come up with an embossed passport cover.

I don’t need to. No, I just need an actual passport that I can doctor. And I can cure you. I happen to have one. And I have another one. I’m telling you, if Wendy says she can do it, she can. Okay. Do we have any other options? Okay, Wendy. What do you need from us? Names. How about William Thacker and Anna Scott?

You just came up with those out of the blue? Well, actually, they’re Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts characters from Notting Hill, one of my favorite movies. Okay, then. Uh, I guess all we need now are… Pictures. Right?

I guess I walked in right before you could tell Johnny about us, right? Talia, that’s, that’s not what happened. I did. Tell Johnny how I feel yeah, but you just said please just let me finish, okay What I said was that I didn’t let him down

Oh, yeah, I I wasn’t expecting any of this when when you and I first started seeing each other I thought that that Johnny and I were just friends Yeah, but now he wants to be more than friend. Right. So do you. I do. Talia, Talia, you are such a good person. You, you have been through hell. And you still found a way to put your life back together.

And if the timing had been different… Okay, no, okay? You don’t have to say that. You don’t have to give me a pep talk, okay? I should have known everything was going way too well for me. It was just… Too good to be true. Okay, I don’t deserve you, Chanel. I know that. Hey, don’t say that. You, you deserve all the good things that are happening for you right now.

Just not you. I’m really sorry. Don’t be, okay? It’s my fault. I should’ve never told you how I felt about you in the first place.

When did I lie to you? I, I don’t know. I guess maybe it was just an oversight that you went, uh, and offered to help Phillip, and you didn’t even tell me he’s alive. Alright. Chloe asked me to become his lawyer, which meant that I couldn’t tell anyone that he was back. No, there are over, there are a million lawyers in this world.

No, no, of course, Phillip wants the one that he used to sleep with. What? That is ancient history. Yeah, well, you cheating on me every single time we have a problem, that’s very current. Oh, and let me think about this. Who was the last person? Oh, it was EJ. And why’d you do it? What, did you do it because you thought Phillip was dead?

Don’t do this. Oh, I know, I know, I know. I’m supposed to just be over the fact that you and EJ slept together. Just like I’m supposed to be over that I put my dad in a coma and that my grandfather’s dead. Is there anything else? Anything else you want me to add to the list of things that shouldn’t be bothering you?

Let’s not do this here. Can we go home? Wait, home? Hold on, you, but you just told me that you think that I deserve to be in a mental hospital. Wait, then where are you going? I’m going to go someplace where I’m not going to be judged by everything I do and everything I feel. Sean, please. Sean!

I tried to follow you, but you were too fast for me. Can you please, Sean, please just call me?

It’s mixed, but whatever it is, we need to take it slow. Yeah, no, I totally agree.

I should go.

Um, maybe we should hang out sometime. There’s a free concert at the park tonight. Japanese takeout jobs. Hey, good we got a goal. Yeah. You wanna go? Um, I’d love to. I have a really good time tonight. Me too.

Thank you, Chanel. For what? For not hating me. I mean, for what I did, most people would never speak to me again. So, I know how big of a deal this is. And, I just want to let you know how much it means to me that you gave me a second chance. I’m glad

I did. So, how do you think it’s going so far?

Pretty well.

What am I doing? Come on. I know what happened back there. I know what happened back there.

So

EJ shows up at the hit woman’s hospital room with some lame story talking about he heard about her in the evening news. And then he says that he’s her attorney. Oh yeah, and uh, I assume she accepted? Oh yeah, and the first thing he told her was to stop talking to me. And when was the last time that EJ ever did something nice for someone he didn’t know?

You know, we’ll get a warrant to check his phone, see if he’s the one that left messages on this thing. You know, at least someone got somewhere tonight. By the time I got to that damn hotel, Ava and Michael’s had already taken off. Well, they’re gonna be really hard to find. As long as Ava still thinks she’s in danger from EJ.

Well, if we can’t find them, we’re just gonna have to track that bastard down by ourselves. I’m willing to work overtime on that.

So Ava had help getting the gun away from you. Another patient got in the way. It wasn’t just another patient. That was Harris Michael’s ex Navy SEAL. You’re the one who’s lucky to be alive. Believe me.

But if Ava thinks he is going to keep her safe from me, then she is in for a rude awakening.

Wow. This was not what I expected when we came here. Those work, right? Best fakes I’ve seen. I’ve seen a lot. Nice work. Yeah. Well, I, uh, I hate to say this, but we should probably hit the road, right, Mr. Thacker? Or should I call you Bill? Look, those passports are great, but they’re not going to protect you if EJ tracks you down.

Are you sure you’re making the best decision? I have to find Susan. Everything changes once I do.

Okay, you tell the cops that you saw me, but you couldn’t stop me from leaving, okay? It’s basically the truth. I’ll tell them I have no idea where you are. Which is also basically the truth.

Thank you. Both of you. Of course. You come back now, Mom. Safe. You know that’s the plan.

Oh, God. I love you, my son. I love you too, Mom.

Thanks again, Wendy. Of course. Good luck.

Ready.

Adam: You sound surprised, which is understandable. You know, it’s how I’ve always operated. Never apologize, never back down, eyes on the prize. I just can’t believe this is what it’s taken.

Sally: For what?

Adam: For me to see who I am and how I’ve been living. I mean, this is finally the wake-up call that I needed. I mean, the– the second part of the wake-up call.

Sally: What was the first part?

Adam: Losing our daughter the same moment I lost you.

********************

Diane: You have to know that we love you, and we always want your best interests at heart.

Jack: If we see you going down a bad path, we are always going to speak up.

Kyle: Oh, no, no, no, actually it’s a great path. You know, it’s a new life, a new job. I’m having a blast and loving every minute of it. Just like smiling jack in his old days.

Jack: I want you to come back to Jabot. I think we should talk about the possibilities.

Kyle: I have a job at a media company that is growing and thriving. I work alongside Nikki Newman. I don’t need anything. Oh, um, and I broke things off with Audra Charles. So, what exactly is the problem? She found it.

Diane: It’s my understanding that audra is being kept on at newman media.

Kyle: Yeah, we can work together without being in a personal relationship.

Diane: Was it your idea to break things off?

Kyle: This has nothing to do with summer, if that’s what you’re asking. We’re not going to get back together and audra is not to blame.

Diane: You’re the one who brought her up.

Kyle: Yeah, because you’re both so worried I’m on this road to hell.

Abby: Well, Dominic is actually in music class, which you would know if you had called before you stopped by, but I figure that you’re not actually here to see Dominic, so what’s up? If you’re here because you want to talk about my mom and Uncle Jack, I actually have some good news for you.

Billy: Well, I’ll take that. I could use some good news.

Abby: Well, she is currently on her way to paris on her honeymoon with tucker, which means she is putting this battle between her and Uncle Jack behind her and she is moving forward, focusing on her new life with her new husband.

Billy: Wow. So much for fool me once, huh? Look, I’m not worried about Ashley, okay? I do wish them both the best, and I really hope that she and Jack can get on solid ground again.

Abby: But you are worried about something, so talk to me.

Billy: It’s Diane, Abby. I’m afraid Ashley was right all along. Jack’s new wife… is gonna be a danger for Jabot.

*********************

Jack: I don’t know if I made it clear, but I am sick about where things stand between the two of us. All this conflict, all this suspicion. It’s like deja-vu, except it’s you instead of Ashley and you’re not married to somebody I despise.

Billy: And I’m taller than our sister, and I have brown hair. What’s your point exactly?

Jack: I’m just hoping there’s something you and i can actively do to keep this from escalating
