Recap written by Eva

Sally asks Audra for advice if she should give up on her design business. Audra tells Sally she is a very talented person that is good at many things. What she needs to do is decide which of her talents she is passionate about and stick with that as her job.

Billy texts Lily that he is taking a trip to the Chancellor-Winters regional offices in order to get to know them better.

Devon asks Tucker if he has any leverage on Jill so he can use it to kick Billy out of Chancellor-Winters. Tucker tells Devon that he never had any leverage on Jill. Tucker tells Devon he can find a way to get Billy out of the company and nobody will ever need to know he asked him for help to get Billy out of the company. Devon makes it clear that if he got Billy out of Chancellor-Winters that might change the relationship between them, but Devon doesn’t want Tucker to do that for him. Devon also tells Tucker that just because he asked him for advice doesn’t change their relationship at all.

Tucker misunderstands the conversation with Devon and later tells Audra that Devon told him that if he found a way to get Billy out of Chancellor-Winters it would change the relationship between them.

Alan sees Ashley change from the Belle personality to the Ms. Abbott personality and later tells Traci he thinks she has disassociate identity disorder and they need to get the real Ashley to come out so she can agree to get psychiatric help in a controlled environment. Ashley’s Ms. Abbott personality comes out while Ashley is at the park and she says she has to kill Tucker.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

Without me, you talk to carly? Yeah. We’ve got trouble. Your, uh, regular wine list is somewhat lacking tonight. Didn’t the previous owner keep a supply of interesting wine for the more discriminating customer? That’s still the case. Special occasion? Hoping to rekindle an old flame.

[ Cellphone rings ] Yes? This is clement, the pharmacist. I’m aware.

Our deal is off. I’m gonna need you to clarify that. I’m done messing with sonny corinthos’s medications. His wife is on to us. “The basis for my disbarment was an accusation of perjury based on hearsay evidence. No one involved with the accusation was present for or affected by the statement in question.” That bad, huh?

[ Chuckles ] I’m sorry. I got distracted by pictures, uh, of the rehearsal dinner at coney island. Let me see. Aw. Yeah. It looks like they’re having a good time. How long do you think it’ll be before lois convinces tracy to go on the cyclone?

[ Scoffs ] Anything’s possible. Yeah, well, nothing compares to our parachute jump. Nothing at all. No, I didn’t mean to — to get us off track. Let’s get back to rehearsing your pitch for reinstatement to the bar. You know what? It’s fine. Let’s take a breather. Absolutely not. If you’re gonna spend your evening babysitting me, at least let me make myself useful. How bad? Oh, god. Well… I think the severity of this situation all hinges on whether or not you can handle carly before she blows this entire operation and gets herself sent to prison in the bargain.

Think of the mcconkey esplanade like — like the high line in manhattan, right? The plan is to transform something that’s rundown and flat-out dangerous into something that’s beautiful and safe and clean, a place where pedestrians can gather in — in large numbers. I’m telling you, we do this right, and it should vastly improve the city’s fortunes. And alter the perception people have of port charles being a haven for organized crime. Yeah, that couldn’t hurt. So what do you think? I mean, is this kind of what you pictured? Well, I am definitely impressed. It’s a bold and imaginative idea and a big investment for the future of port charles. Well, that’s great news. I’m glad we are in agreement on that. But it’s not big enough. The way you have it laid out, this proposal won’t even get off the ground. Come on, alexis. I know finn asked you to watch over me while everyone’s off at coney island. He did not. He is worried about your well-being while he’s away, but my coming here was my idea, because, “a,” I really do want your help, and, “b,” you are my friend. Not my charge, and certainly not someone that I need to babysit for. Okay. Maybe that was a poor choice of words, but my point remains. Gregory… finn just wants you to be okay. And he agonizes over how to do that without trespassing on your autonomy. He knows that — that your time is limited, and he doesn’t want to waste any of it with the two of you being at odds with each other. Wow. Sounds like you two had quite the emotional conversation.

[ Sighs ] I’m guessing he also told you that I lost my temper and dredged up his little tryst with jackie on our wedding eve? Of course he did. Finn was hurting, and you’re his friend. Look, I got frustrated. I-I wanted to be left alone by myself for a few hours. And when he argued against it, I retaliated by laying a hell of a guilt trip on him. It was a cheap shot. As cheap as they come. Okay, listen, tell me exactly what’s happened. Sonny’s wife came to my office earlier today asking a lot of questions about his prescription. She knows he’s not on the full dose of his meds. Okay. And?

And what?! Isn’t that bad enough? She — she knows! She threatened you? Have the police been contacted? Sonny? N-no, no. But — but y-you’re not listening to me. No, I am listening. I’ve heard everything

that you’ve said. You said that a woman claiming to be mrs. Corinthos approached you, claiming that she knows you have been delivering sonny a lower-than-prescribed dose of his bipolar medication. And rather than going to the authorities, she turned and walked away. Does that sound about right?

[ Stammers ] More or less. Why aren’t you as upset about this as I am? Okay, listen, if this “wife” of sonny’s wanted you arrested, you’d be in handcuffs by now. Can you describe her to me? Well, s-she was — she was blond, beautiful.  Honestly, that’s all I remember. It all happened so fast. I can identify her. In the meantime, you stay the course and continue to deliver sonny the lower dose. But w-what if sonny’s wife actually does report me? Sonny doesn’t have a wife, not currently. But he does have several beautiful blondes in his orbit, and I am familiar with all of them. I’ll identify the woman who approached you, and I will deal with her appropriately. You were right. Carly was listening in on your conversation with john, and she took it upon herself to go visit brennan in pentonville, where she proceeded to inform him that cates was looking into pikeman. So now that means that this operation is — is blown. I can’T… yeah, because brennan — he’s gonna reach out to whatever allies he has left at the wsb to obstruct this investigation. And if the fbi can’t build a case against pikeman — well, then my deal with cates is blown. And carly will be prosecuted. Yeah, and that can’t happen. I know! It can’t happen. Well, I’ve been thinking. It stands to reason that the first person he would reach out to is ostensibly the same target that we’re after. Right. Whoever’s running pikeman. Right. So if we can find out how he makes contact with his successor, then, actually, we could use carly’s mistake to our advantage. Well, this is fortuitous. I was thinking about you, and here you are. Oh, perfect timing. What’s up? I’ve heard from charlotte. I have an update on that equestrian event in normandy. Oh, I do want to hear about that, but, unfortunately, I have a meeting that I have to get to. Oh, all right. Well, then, another time. Okay. Um, just one question. You haven’t reconciled with sonny, have you? Um, no. No. I-I’m sorry. Where did you hear that? I just — I thought I heard somebody say. Obviously, I was mistaken. No, sonny and i are not together, and we’re not getting back together, either. Sonny and I are done for good. Okay. Well, you know how I feel about him. His loss. And ava’s gain. Come again? Well, ava’s worming her way into sonny’s house and his life, and she somehow made it where she’s one of the very few people that sonny feels like he can trust. They’re very close now. And ava wouldn’t have it any other way. Well, then, I guess you’re well and truly out of it. Perhaps I am, yeah. I really have to go. I’ll see you?

Ava. Spare a femoments for a friend? Projects of this size need so many different approvals from the regulatory bodies in the government. And they’re all just looking for a reason to say no. Now, the environmental review will be particularly tough, but our chances will increase exponentially if we have enough powerful friends in albany and dc. And I’m assuming you know how to win them over? I thought you’d never ask. Let’s start with the parking lots. That’s incredibly valuable real estate. And you have so much space allocated for them. Well, people have to park. Only if you drive in. Now, there’s an abandoned rail line ending right at the waterfront. It may be old, but it’s still viable. What if we get it back into workable shape, then connect it to the existing light rail network? And voil. Now, it’s not just a waterfront redevelopment. It’s mass transit. Exactly. And we can just sit back and watch the state and federal grants pour in. That is an amazing idea, jordan. It is, isn’t it? But I’m not done yet. I also think we should dredge the harbor at the dock adjacent to the esplanade and make it suitable for ferry service. Like, service to canada? Yeah. Think about it. The current drive time to toronto from port charles is three hours. A high-speed ferry will cut that time down to one hour. We would be an international tourist destination. And those tax dollars will pour in. Jordan, you are really good at this.

[ Chuckles ] I appreciate the enthusiasm. How could anybody say no to this? Feel like the next thing to do is just break ground. Okay, slow down. Slow down. We still have to get official approval. And then we can pop the champagne. What are we celebrating? Okay, so if brennan reaches out to whoever’s controlling pikeman, we just need to be ready and watching. Okay. I’ll talk to the authorities at pentonville. Meanwhile, I’m still pursuing the other angle. What was that? Valentin. So I’m — I’m meeting with him shortly. You okay with that? Yeah, I mean, you know, he — he claimed to be in europe when he was actually here monitoring the first attempt on sonny’s life. So that’s proof that he’s more involved with pikeman than he’s letting on. And I-I really need to find out just how involved. And you are our best chance of getting any information from him. Maybe. I-I think there’s something else that we need to discuss. Do we give john a heads up as to what we’re doing? As far as I’m concerned, I don’t need to talk to him until I tell him who’s running pikeman. I don’t want to work with him. I don’t want to deal with him. But you’re the police commissioner. This is a joint operation, so I will take your lead. I agree with you. John’s playing it very close to the vest. So will we. Sorry, nina. Gallery’s closed. Oh, you can make time for me, ava. After all, I never told sonny how you manipulated me into selling my hotel to jason. Is that what I did? I’m sure you can appreciate my discretion. On the other hand, I wish you’d be more forthcoming in your dealings with crimson. Well, I don’t know what you’re talking about. I have nothing to do with crimson. Really? Well, that’s odd. Because my assistant just asked me for my approval for a last-minute addition to next issue’s cultural calendar. Wouldn’t you know, there’s an exciting, new african artist making her debut in the united states, and her opening just happens to be taking place in the very gallery we’re standing in. I’m very successful at what I do. It stands to reason that a talented artist would choose my gallery. And to promote said artist, you’ve lobbied one of our assistant editors for the mention. Okay. All right, nina. You got me. But the fact is, the artist is extremely talented, and their work deserves to be seen. I make no apologies for that. I agree. I agree. Her work is beautiful. And I think crimson should spotlight worthy artists. I have no issue featuring her, despite your many,

many transgressions. Then what’s the problem? I don’t like that you went behind my back. You come to me first. Next time, I’m not gonna be so generous. I was protecting the artist, nina. I thought you would cancel the mention if you knew it came from me. Yeah, you’re smart to worry. ‘Cause you snaked sonny away from me, all while lying and pretending to be my friend. If that’s not worthy of payback, I don’t know what it is. There you go again. Always looking for somebody to blame. You ruined your relationship with sonny all on your own with your lies. And you didn’t wait five minutes before you took advantage of our breakup. That’s okay. What’s done is done. I don’t have a future with sonny. I know that now. I have finally accepted that… we’re over for good.

You expect me to believe that you’re suddenly fine with your marriage to sonny being over? You were there when I signed the divorce papers. Oh, I imagine that you delivered those papers to sonny yourself, didn’t you? It’s not what I wanted, but I’ve accepted the reality of it. Well, that sounds… too evolved to be true. Ava, you don’t think that I can grow and change? The way I see it, baby snatching, letting sonny’s family believe he was dead, and anonymous tips to the sec are all different sides it’s the same vindictive coin. So, no, no, I don’t see any evidence of you growing or changing, nina. Well, I never claimed to be perfect. The point is, I’m trying to be better. You should know what that looks like. You tried it once. For a minute or two, you and nikolas sort of had something real, didn’t you? And who knows if you could have sustained it, ava? You might still be married, and he wouldn’t be in prison. Well, you’re probably right about that. I-I went to see him — don’t mistake me for someone who still cares. We have no friendship anymore. We did. I know that. It was really nice being able to confide in you. But the first chance you had to help yourself to something that was mine, you took it, and the friendship is over. I mean, professionally, I’m sure that the two of us can be mature enough to get the most out of it, but that’s all that we will ever be to each other now. I hope it was worth it. Things just got out of hand. I-I felt like he was ignoring my wishes, like he wasn’t listening to me. He wasn’t seeing me, his father, and had just reduced me to this stinking disease again. I should have just stopped the conversation and said, “let’s start again when we calm down,” but instead I lashed out and said the cruelest thing possible.

[ Sighs ] I can’t tell you how much I regret it. Do you have any idea how much stress you’re under? It’s ridiculous. Show yourself some grace. I mean, my god, do you know how many times I’ve screwed up as a mother? And I had no excuse. Did I ever tell you about the time kristina came out to me? Did I tell you about how I reacted? I don’t believe so. Yeah, well, she didn’t get the love and acceptance that she was hoping for and deserved. Really? That surprises me. I would have thought — yeah, that I would have, you know, put out the rainbow flag. And, yes, I am 100% supportive of the lgbt community, but when it was my own daughter in front of me, I-I got scared. Of what? Of how much harder her life could be and people’s prejudices and scary moments that would happen to her, and I wouldn’t be able to protect her. I mean, there she was,

so vulnerable and wanted my unconditional love. And, honestly, it was one of my worst moments as a mother. I’m sorry to hear that. Well… it became my best moment, one of my best moments, anyway. Because, you know, you make a mistake, you learn from it, and I did. I self-reflected. I-I educated myself. I listened to other people talking to me. I apologized to her, and I explained to her why I reacted the way I-I did, and she understood. And we were better off for it. I’m glad to hear that, but I really don’t think our situations are the same. Gregory, your situation is exactly the same. You made a mistake. You’re human. And by the way, that is quite a relief because your being so saintly is really infuriating. Just apologize to him. Don’t let fester. I plan to.

[ Sighs ] I just — I’m not sure that an apology alone will do. I didn’t expect to see you today, jordan. It’s, uh, been a while. It has. Yes. I think the last time we spoke, I sent a group of apartment residents over to your office. “Sent”? “Sicced” is, I think, the word you’re looking for. And they were mightily disgruntled that I didn’t want to support their, um, affordable housing project. And was dealing with them not worth the return of my “get out the vote” efforts for your re-election campaign? Oh, I always know where my bread is buttered. Well, jordan is a valuable ally. And don’t you forget it. I have to get going, but thank you for getting behind the esplanade. We are really appreciative of your help, and we will definitely do good things in your name. Oh, I appreciate that. Yeah. Jordan, we’ll talk soon. Yeah, I’ll see you soon. Bye. So, yo ur timingis impeccable, because I’ve got a layout — yeah, just leave that alone for now. I’ve got another reason for being here. Um…why do you think I should get into bed with a convicted criminal?

[ Door closes in distance ] Danny.

[ Sighs ] What are you doing here? Came here to see you. Or are you gonna tell me to leave? Anna: You started without me. Just a little something to calm my nerves. Good lord, you’re beautiful. I didn’t realize I could still make you nervous. Well, you can. It’s been a while since we’ve done this. Exactly. So you should enjoy. Relax. No need to be so serious. With you, it’s always been serious.

Sorry I kept you waiting. Don’t apologize. Your work’s important. How are things at the pcpd, by the way? Complicated at the moment. There — there are rumblings that the heather webber case is going to be reopened. And then, of course, there’s the ongoing business of sonny. “Ongoing” is a good way to put it. He’s been a thorn in the pcpd’s side for decades. It got a bit more complicated recently because a former employee of his — a young man, dex heller — got accepted into the police academy. Oh, yeah? From the mob foot soldier to police cadet? That’s a hell of a career change. Yes. The other officers have been very quick to judge because of his former occupation. But I’m more worried that sonny will retaliate, you know, because he’s switched sides. Yeah, sonny’s not really a “forgive and forget,” is he? Why would dex risk his wrath by becoming a cop? It was my doing. I originally suggested that he should apply to the police academy because I thought it would be a way to back sonny off and protect the young man. But now I-I think the drive behind it is dex and his need to redeem himself. You can understand how powerful that is, yeah? Well, he could hardly find a better mentor if he’s looking for redemption. I mean, you’ve been spending your entire career chasing that. Why do

you think an apologyis not enough for finn?

[ Sighs ] I honestly don’t know. Like your reaction to kristina’s coming out, I shocked myself with what I said to finn. I thought I was long over all the hurt and anger about what happened between him and jackie. I was just grateful to have finn back in my life and be able to spend time with him and violet. I-I was blindsided to realize that I’m holding on to that resentment. Explain it to finn the way you explained it to me. He will understand, because I know that he still feels guilt about this, too. I thought we were long past all of that. What happened in the past happened. Pretending it didn’t happen is just giving it power. So just acknowledge it and just get over it and beyond it. Move on. I see your point. The fact that you two love each other is literally all that matters right now. You make a very compelling case. Anyone ever tell you you’d make a great lawyer? That’s your cue to hit me with your opening statement again. Really? I mean, are you in the head space for that? Absolutely. Come on. Give it a go, counselor. Convince me you should be reinstated. May it please the court. Well, then I guess we’re done here. I guess so. Agent cates. Ms. Jerome. Am I interrupting something? Not at all. Nina was just leaving. Ms. Reeves. I don’t think that we’ve officially met. Oh, I did see you at the metro court with carly. If I recall, you were wearing a lot less at the time. You seem to have gotten the wrong idea — I don’t think I care enough to really remedy that. Enjoy the art. Beware of the gallery owner. She’ll take you for all you’re worth if you aren’t careful. You two seem close. It’s been a very long day. So can whatever you came here for please wait until tomorrow? No, it can’T. I’m here about sonny. Ah, of course I like seeing you, but there are good reasons I told you not to come to the warehouse. This part of the neighborhood is very dangerous, especially at night. Oh, well, you don’t have to worry, you know. Yuri’s — he’s outside waiting, and no one’s gonna mess with him, so… this place is pretty cool. Does your mom know you’re here? Oh, it’s fine. Brook lynn has her running some last-minute errands for the wedding tomorrow. And so she’s dropped me and scout and rocco off at the quartermaines’. That’s right. It’s, uh, brook lynn and chase’s wedding tomorrow. Yeah. That’s why I’m here. Uh, grandma monica — she has a message for you. When I ran a search on you, what do you think was the first thing that popped up? My conviction for sec violations. Mm-hmm. Did you think I wouldn’t find out? I mean, popular notions aside, politicians do do their own research. I wasn’t trying to hide it from you. Well, because you wouldn’t want to open with that when you’re trying to sell me on the esplanade. It wasn’t relevant to the deal. And, yes, had I brought that up, it would have been the only thing that you were thinking about, and I would have gotten an immediate no on the esplanade. But I had to make you fall in love with the project first. Well, what makes you think I won’t pull out now? Because it’s a great idea for port charles, and if my name is an obstacle, we will just leave it out. Really. I’ll delegate everything to my nephew michael so there isn’t even a hint of scandal. Really? You would do that, even though it’s your idea? Of course I would. It’s not about me. This is about doing something great for port charles.

[ Chuckles ] It sounds like a campaign slogan. Look, it’s my home. This is where my daughter’s growing up. And if I have a chance to make it an even better place, why would I sacrifice that just for stroking my own ego? Well, it’s good to hear you say that, but fun fact — you can, uh, still be convicted and serve in the U.S. House of representatives.

So, uh, how is — how is monica? She’S… she’s pretty good. I mean, she still has pneumonia, but she says she’ll be back to normal by the summer. She just has to stay in bed and rest up until then, though.

[ Sighs ] Well, I’m glad she has you as her messenger. That’s why I’m here. Grandma needs you to represent her at brook lynn’s wedding. So, if my career has been all about redemption, what’s at the heart of yours? Crippling self-doubt.

[ Chuckles ] That’s funny. No. I-I think it’s the opposite. I think you’ve always believed you were smarter than everyone else. I don’t feel the need to analyze what motivates me. I don’t think I’d like what I find. That’s disappointing, to be honest. I think self-reflection is very good for the soul. Others have found plenty about you to like. Love even. Myself included. You know the whole story, don’t you? Yeah. The chip on my shoulder. How badly I wanted to fit in at the wsb, and when that didn’t happen, I went my own way, and I hurt a lot of people, did a lot of bad things for a long time. Which I know you regretted. Charlotte came along. She made me want to be a better man. But, anna, I don’t think that you can ever close the door on your past, not entirely. And so I compartmentalize to ensure that whatever I feel compelled to do… …doesn’t affect the things and the people that I love the most. What is it you want to know? Has sonny received any overtures from the other crime families? Does he have any theories as to why he’s been targeted? Well, I don’t speak for him. You’re gonna have to ask sonny these questions. Sonny won’t talk to me. Well, he doesn’t talk to me either. Not about that kind of stuff, anyway. I find that hard to believe. You were glued to sonny’s side the night of the warehouse shooting and have barely left it since. And you’re a member of the jerome crime family. You had mob ambitions of your own a few years ago. I don’t know what you’re getting at. But my business here is totally legitimate. That’s good to know. But I’m more interested in your relationship with sonny. Are you in love with him? Or are you setting him up for a takeover?

[ Scoffs ] How dare you? What’s your end game? Are you planning to walk away with control of sonny’s organization? What’s my end game? My end game is co-parenting a child sonny and I both adore. And you need to live with sonny to do that? Not that it’s any of your business, but I’m between residences. Sonny offered his place, and I took him up on it because I want to keep my daughter safe ’cause somebody keeps shooting at her father. Crimes you haven’t been able to solve, by the way. You can try to turn this around on me, but it’s obvious you know more than you’re saying. So consider yourself on notice. Sonny’s a person of interest for the fbi, and now so are you. So if you get the feeling you’re being watched… it’s because you are. I have stage 4 lung cancer. Hearing those words, getting my, uh… well, ticket punched makes me wonder just what I want to leave as a legacy. Mm? I got into politics to — to help people, and I want my seat to go to someone who desires to serve their country. But, um, well, the people in my party want me to endorse somebody who is either a-a crook or a moron or sometimes both. Well, that’s a tough position to be in. I liked what I saw when we were talking before. You have convictions and you’re not afraid to stand up for them. I believe you would use the office to do good things. Well, that’s very kind of you, sir, but I don’t think I have the pedigree for politics.

[ Chuckles ] Well, clearly, you can handle tough situations, which is good because politics is not for the faint of heart. Not to mention that you’re rich, which means, of course, that you won’t have to bow down to the, uh, lobbyists to get something done. It may be technically legal for an ex-convict to run for congress, but, I mean, who’s gonna vote for him? Oh, well… the world loves a comeback. And, you know, y-you’re kind of a cowboy hero. I think you’re a perfect fit for it.

[ Chuckles ] Even so, you need more than just a good story to win an election. Well, yeah, that’s true. You need me. “And so, after presenting all the evidence, I’m asking you to render the only verdict that respects the law and precedent and overturn my disbarment. Thank you.” What do you think? Well, with the caveat that I’m obviously not a lawyer… I’m asking for a rhetorical review, not a legal analysis. I think you’re off to a really good start. Oh. But it could definitely use some streamlining. My guess is because it’s so personal to you that you’ve gotten caught in the trap of restating your argument too many times in hopes of winning them over. That’s a good note. All right. I’ll take a look at it. All right. What about the logic? What about, did I make my case? Yeah, I think you have a really strong argument to overturn your disbarment. You’re clear and articulate. You have a great command of your subject matter. As far as I’m concerned, you have all the elements necessary to trial. All except one.

summation was missing? Luck. I wasn’t expecting you to say that. I got this medal in seventh grade. “Debate. 1st place.” Winning this changed the course of my life. It gave me the confidence to pursue the things I wanted in life. I’ve had it with me ever since — every debate, every big lecture, every public engagement, even when I was defending my dissertation. It’ll fit right in your pocket. And it’s guaranteed to bestow good luck on whoever holds it, which is why I’m giving it to you — because no one deserves a win more than you. Ah.

[ Chuckles ] No one wants to say no to a dying man. I mean, how would that look? If I endorse you, the rest of my party will fall in line, and then I’ll put my considerable resources to work making sure you get elected. I can’t say how flattered I am in your belief in me, but I-I mean, I’ve never even considered a career in politics. Well, get considering, and fast. I mean, it’s already may. We’ve only got a few months before the election. Look, if you’re not interested, I-I understand. I’ll move on, but I think you’re making a huge mistake. You could do some great things with a real chance of winning. Hmm? You might also want to change your name to quartermaine? We’ll talk. You care for a nightcap? Not tonight. Maybe next time. I’m happy to hear there’ll be a next time. My place? I’ll cook for you. Really? What? You want to find out? You have to show up. I look forward to it. You wouldn’t dare put me under surveillance. I already have. You’re bluffing. This morning, you dropped your daughter off at school. Then you had a long breakfast with sonny. Feel free to tell me what the two of you talked about. Then you went to the hospital, where you spoke to the chief pharmacist. Then you went back home, and then you finally came here to work. It’s a wonder the gallery is so successful, given the odd hours you keep. Bastard. You stay the hell away from me. I have been tasked with uncovering why sonny’s been targeted, so I will be using the full weight of the fbi to investigate whomever I want until this case is resolved. Monica said she isn’t well enough to attend brook lynn’s wedding, so she needs you to go in place of her. She knows you don’t like wearing a suit and tie, but says you can handle anything for just a few hours. All right, I’ll go. You will? Yeah, I mean, look, I can’t — I can’t argue with monica. And now you? Come on. It’s late. I’ll give you ride home. What about yuri? Um, I’ll explain to yuri that I can give my son a ride home.

Eric: Unbelievable.

Donna: And in true sheila fashion.

Eric: We were rid of her!

Brooke: Not looking over our shoulders, wondering when she’s gonna strike next.

Donna: And now the witch is back.

[ Cell phone chimes ]

Eric: Sheila’s back. Surprise, surprise.

Ridge: What are you surprised about? This always happens.

Brooke: Uh, I gotta go now.

Eric: I can’t believe it.

Ridge: You okay?

Brooke: Uh, yeah. Yeah, just some, uh… overdue business I need to take care of.

Ridge: Okay. Just do me a favor, keep your head on a swivel. Don’t know what sheila’s gonna do.

Luna: I, um… I heard about sheila. You doing okay?

Rj: No. I’m not. She tormented our family for years. It felt nice to think she was actually out of our lives.

Luna: I’m sorry, rj.

Rj: Yeah, me too. Wonder how steffy’s feeling.

Zende: How is this even possible?

Carter: It’s crazy, right? Sheila look-a-like.

Zende: It’s unreal.

Carter: Yeah. So… how are those designs coming?

[ Zende sighs ] Still distracted, huh?

Zende: It has just been really hard to focus.

Carter: Oh, come on, zende. Hope for the future’s in this big transition right now. We debated pulling back funding. You’re telling me its key designer can’t concentrate? Dude, you gotta get your head on straight. I know you’re still conflicted about that night with luna.

Zende: I am.

Carter: You shouldn’t be. Her mother was wrong, zende. You were wrong. Case closed.

Zende: It’s not that simple.

Carter: ‘Cause you still have feelings for her. Can’t stop thinking about luna.

Donna: Okay, I’m– I’m sorry, but this still doesn’t make any sense.

Eric: Ridge, you said you would explain all this to us when you came over.

Ridge: Dad, I don’t even know where to start.

Eric: So it’s complicated. We can take it. What is it?

Ridge: Does the name janet webber mean anything to you?

Luna: Uh, so, when did you hear about sheila?

Rj: My dad told me right after he found out.

Luna: I wish I could’ve been there for you. God, I hate that there’s this, like, gulf between us.

Rj: Luna–

Luna: I know, I know, it’s– I know that it’s all my fault because of my mom and the mints and what happened with zende, but… I miss you. I really miss you, rj.

Zende: I know the pain I’ve caused. Luna is guilt-ridden. Rj’s livid.

Carter: He should be! Luna was under the influence, thought you were rj, but you knew exactly what you were doing. Yeah, she was happy to see you. She thought you were rj, your cousin. How you thought that was okay is beyond me, man.

Zende: At the party, I told her if anything changed between her and rj, I lived across the courtyard.

Carter: That’s not okay, zende! That is not okay. She is in love with your cousin. He is committed to her. He is deeply in love with her, and everyone knew that at the party. Man, you are falling for someone who is unavailable, and you need to shut that down. You gotta run from it.

Zende: Yeah. I know I screwed up.

Carter: Look, man, I’m only saying this because I’ve made mistakes, too. I fell for a woman who was spoken for, and it almost destroyed everything I care about. My friendships, my job. I don’t want that for you.

Zende: You’re being a good friend, and I appreciate that. Thank you for caring. Uh, thank you for keeping this to yourself. If uncle ridge ever found out…

Brooke: Oh. Carter, I need to speak to zende. Alone.

Zende: Carter knows. Apparently you do too.

Brooke: How you slept with luna and stabbed my son in the back? When you have chronic kidney disease, there are places you’d like to be. Like here. And here. Not so much here. Farxiga reduces the risk of kidney failure which can lead to dialysis.

Donna: Okay, so sugar looked identical to sheila, and that’s who steffy killed in self-defense.

Ridge: You’ve got it.

Eric: All right, so finn and deacon rescued sheila, and now finn wants sheila to be part of their lives again?

Donna: And– and you said that finn’s connection with– with sheila deepened when he thought she was dead.

Ridge: Honestly, I don’t care about his mommy issues. He needs to take care of his family right now.

Eric: Look, finn has– he’s going through a very difficult time right now. But he has not forgotten who sheila is.

Ridge: Really? I talked to steffy, and apparently finn is calling sheila a hero.

Donna: What? A hero? What–

Ridge: The story goes she fought sugar to protect steffy and the kids.

Eric: Yeah, well, sheila’s no hero. She’d say anything to get closer to finn.

Ridge: And you know who knows that? Everybody. Except finn.

Eric: So, how’s steffy taking all this?

Ridge: She said it’s either her or sheila.

Donna: But finn picked steffy. I mean, didn’t he?

Ridge: Yes. But the fact that she had to give him an ultimatum doesn’t sit well with me.

[ Rj sighs ]

Rj: I miss you too.

Luna: But you still need time. Oh, god, I ruined everything. What we had was so special, and I– I ruined all of it.

Rj: Don’t– don’t say that.

Luna: It’s the truth.

Rj: None of this is your fault. Hey, look at me. None of this was your fault. You just accidentally took your mother’s drugs, and you weren’t in your right mind, okay?

Luna: It doesn’t change what I did, or how you look at me. You know, when we first got together, I told myself not to get my hopes up, because nothing is ever this perfect, and it’s only a matter of time before something happens. I was really scared in the beginning.

Rj: Scared? I didn’t know you were scared.

Luna: I didn’t want you to know. Then, I don’t know, one day you looked at me, and you told me that you loved me and that nothing’s ever gonna change that, and… my fears just went away.

Rj: Luna, I still love you. I just– um, I– I– I just– just need time to process everything that’s happened.

Luna: I hurt you, and I hate myself for that. I should’ve told you sooner. And it doesn’t matter whose fault it is, if it’s mine or if it’s not, because I ruined our relationship that night. The night that I spent with zende.

Brooke: Carter, I really need to speak to zende. Alone. Now.

[ Door closes ]

Zende: Look, I know what I did was wrong.

Brooke: Oh, wrong? Wrong? Wrong doesn’t even begin to describe what you’ve done.

Zende: I swear, I had no idea that luna wasn’t herself that night. I had no idea about the mints or that she’d have been altered in any way. I came back home from eric’s party, and she was in my bed.

Brooke: Oh, my god. Luna was the one that was drugged! Not you! You knew exactly what was going on. You were in your right mind. Rj is your cousin. How could you do that to him? You know how much he loves luna. And you betrayed my son. Your own family, for god’s sakes. My god, zende. You had no right, no right sleeping with luna. Depression is a journey. Donna: Why would finn even want a relationship with that

Donna: Why would finn even want a relationship with that woman after everything that she’s done?

Ridge: The kid’s lost it. I don’t even know what to do with finn right now.

Eric: It’s everywhere, genoa city, los angeles, everywhere. Sheila carter’s alive. Yeah, okay. Yes, we’ll talk again under better circumstances. Bye.

Donna: How did lauren take the news?

Eric: She’s– she’s in shock.

Ridge: Well, we’re all in shock. How does this keep happening? Sheila does whatever she wants to whomever she wants, and never has to pay for her crimes.

Rj: I don’t blame you for what happened. Does it hurt? Yes. Is my mind messed up? Absolutely. But I know that this– this wasn’t your fault.

Luna: Yeah, but still, it– it kills me to know that I hurt you. And what happened that night didn’t just ruin our relationship, it ruined you and zende’s relationship.

Rj: To hell with zende! You really think I care about my relationship with zende? He’s my cousin. He’s my family. And he stabbed me in the back, and he slept with my girlfriend.

Luna: I just wish things to go back to the way they were.

Rj: They– they won’T. Ever. Between me and him. Zende, he should’ve never touched you. ‘Cause he’s– he’s my family. He knew how much I cared about you. Just stop hoping that there’s ever gonna be a reconciliation between the two of us, ’cause there will never be.

Luna: No, I don’t want things to go back to the way they were for zende, or even for myself. I want it for you, rj. I mean, there’s– there’s been, like, this shift in you ever since I told you about that night. You always had this, like, joyful, playful, I don’t know, like, boyish quality about you that I always found so sweet, and that I fell in love with, and… it’s not there anymore. And it breaks my heart.

[ Luna sighs shakily ]

Brooke: This is a family company. A family that you blatantly betrayed. I mean, what would your mother think? You know what, I, uh– I think it’s time for you to leave. You should go to forrester international. No, strike that. Forrester antarctica.

Zende: I understand that you are furious. But with all due respect, I earned my place here.

Brooke: Well, I think you threw it away. You know that luna went to eric’s party with my son. She was on his arm. You know how much they love each other. Everybody knows that! Yet you still slept with her.

[ Huffs ] Rj told me not to say anything to ridge, and he did that because he didn’t wanna upset luna any more than she already is. That is the kind of man my son is. The kind of man I thought you were.

So tell me about

your heart attack. Our heart attack was… scary! Never want to go through that again. But we could. With heart disease, you never know. So we made changes. Green juice. Yeah, not a fan. Diet, exercise… statins helped. But our ldl-c (bad cholesterol)-it was stuck! Stuck! Just couldn’t lower it enough. And high ldl-c meant a real risk of another attack. So I said, “let’s ask our doctor about repatha.” What can I say? Listen to your heart.

Repatha plus a statin

dramatically

lowers ldl-c by 63%,

and significantly

drops the risk

of having a

heart attack.

Do not take repatha if

you are allergic to it.

Repatha can cause serious

allergic reactions.

Signs include

trouble breathing

or swallowing or

swelling of the face.

Most common side effects

include runny nose,

sore

throat,

common cold

symptoms,

flu or flu-like

symptoms,

back pain,

high blood

sugar,

and redness,

pain,

or bruising at the

injection site. We won’t let another heart attack set us back. And neither should you.

Listen to

your heart.

Lower your ldl-c and

your risk with repatha.

Talk to your doctor. Breathing claritin clear is like…[] Feeling the breeze instead of feeling congested.

Donna: Sheila could portray herself as a hero, but I– i think we all know better.

Ridge: We don’t all know better. Finn bought it.

Eric: Finn is vulnerable. He’s vulnerable to sheila. But his heart’s in the right place. His heart is with– with his wife and his kids. He made the right choice. He did the right thing.

Ridge: He shouldn’t have asked steffy about sheila being in their lives. Shouldn’t have asked her. Regardless, here we are. Gotta be careful again because sheila carter is back.

Zende: I really do care about luna, brooke.

Brooke: You say that you care about luna. But you didn’t respect that poor girl. You didn’t respect my son. You knew that they went together to eric’s that night. As a couple! You knew that. You know that they love each other, but it didn’t stop you. You jumped at her anyway. And you didn’t even stop to ask her what she was doing. Why was she there? If she’s still involved with rj. My god, zende!

[ Brooke sighs ]

Zende: I’m so sorry. I feel ashamed about everything that’s happened. I know how much rj loves luna. It was all a terrible misunderstanding. But we can put all of this behind us. Nothing more will come of it. I promise you.

Luna: Our relationship is, like, the most precious thing I’ve ever had in my life. You know, it was– it was so simple. There was, like, I don’t know, like, this sweet innocence to it. And it’s not coming back. I mean, that night changed us forever, and when I look at you, I don’t see the– the light in your eyes or your sweet smile. I see pain and heartache, and it– and it kills me that I did this to you, that I– I hurt someone that I love so much, and I’m so sorry.

Rj: Listen to me, luna. You don’t have to apologize. It’s okay. This is zende’s fault. It’s not your fault. Look at me. I love you so much. You’re right. What we have is precious, and I’m not gonna let this tear us apart. I forgive you. I forgive you for not telling me sooner about what happened. Let’s just move on. Let’s just move on, forget about all this. Let’s just focus on us.

Luna: I mean, you just said that you needed more time.

Rj: What I need is you. You know, we sat right there, and I told you that I loved you. I meant it. And I’m not gonna let anything or anyone get between us.

[ Cell phone chimes ]

Rj: Oh, god. It’s– it’S… I have a meeting that I’m already late to. I’m sorry.

Luna: It’s okay. You can go.

Rj: You wanna continue this later?

Luna: Absolutely.

Rj: Never, ever forget how much I love you.

Luna: I love you too. [ Coughing, retching ] No, no, no, no, no. Oh, my god. Am I pregnant?

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

Hey, there you are. Oh, hi. I was looking all over for you. I was hoping maybe we could have lunch or something together. Uh, maybe another time. Sorry, it’s just been a really busy morning. Hey, uh, is everything okay? Yeah, no, I just, I have a lot of homework and stuff to catch up on, so I’m kind of stressed.

Yeah, yeah, I get it. Same. Okay. It just, it seems like maybe there’s, uh, something else going on, or

Fine. Tate, I’ve been really embarrassed you saw that huge fight between my mom and I earlier. Embarrassed? Why would you be embarrassed? No, I, I just, I hated seeing you so upset and not being able to do anything about it. Have you had any luck changing your mind? No. My controlling mother has decided I most likely am going to do drunks and die if I’m not past my purview.

So, she’s standing her ground, and she’s forbidding me from going to the prom.

What the hell?

Hey there. Uh, Hey! Tell her this. I just did a little shopping. A little? Oh. Okay, maybe I overdid it a little bit, but, why not? It’s the point of having money if you can’t enjoy it, right? That is right. That’s right. I just thought you were going to be at work. Yeah, well, that’s the beauty of being my own boss.

Make my own hours. So aside from a brand new crocodile leather jacket and some basic clothing items, I bought us a ridiculously fancy coffee espresso machine with the frother and, to go with it, two smart mugs where you can actually control the temperature from one’s phone. It’s insane. And, check this out.

Voila. Wow, that, that must’ve, that must’ve really Cost a bundle. A little over a hundred K. It’s got a lifetime warranty. Makes it worth every penny then, huh? That’s right, it’s an investment. Just so you aren’t envious of my new diamond crusted watch. Yeah? I got you the magic woman’s version.

Hey there. Oh my goodness. You’re home. Yeah, earlier than I anticipated, I know. Oh, how nice. You’ve been missed. Well, I missed you too, though. Alrighty, how was your trip? Eh, it was a lot of work. Hardly any downtime. Not a lot of sleep time either. Well, maybe now you can get some sleep in. Maybe even get some more down time.

No, not just today. I’m making this whole week a work life balance. I’ll spend a little time at the office, of course, but, um, most of my time is going to be focused on my kids. And my parents. You and Dad. Oh, that sounds wonderful. I did that on purpose. Referring to you and dad as my parents because you, uh, You’ve always been a mother to me, Marlena.

You are my mom in every sense of the word. And I don’t know what I would do without you. I mean, you’ve always, you’ve always, always been there for me. Cheering me on when I’m doing well and picking me up when I’m not doing so well. And I just love you so much. I just love you so much too. And on that note, I, I understand it’s a, It’s a little late in the day, but uh, Happy Mother’s Day.

I can’t believe it. Leeshan’s blood and Gil Carter’s fingerprints were both on that black book. This changes everything. And the lab. They ran the test twice, right? Yep. Same results. This clearly connects Gil to Li Xin and his murder. How do we prove it? It’s not going to be easy. But I’m going to do whatever it takes to get to the truth and to clear my sister’s name once and for all.

Hey, Stephan, I have some news. Could you keep it down? Okay, listen. I, I found a lead. Unleashon’s murder. What? Yes, and we might have enough evidence to pin the crime on the guilty party, which is definitely not Gabby. Okay, what exactly are you saying? Okay, what I’m saying is that the love of your life, A. K. A.

Gabby Hernandez DiMera, is soon to be exonerated and released from prison, which means, my dear brother, you, I’m soon to have your wife back, as a free woman.

Extends through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives.

Holly, I’m, I’m sorry. It just sucks that you can’t go to prom. Yeah, no kidding. I just can’t wait till I’m 18 and can do whatever the hell I want. Yeah, I get it. My mom can be really controlling too. Did you tell Aaron, by the way, that you can’t be his date? Not yet, but I doubt he’ll care ever since. He’s totally into Sophia.

He’s totally into you.

Yeah. Hey, what’s going on?

Wait until you see the new convertible Ferrari I ordered, Teresa. It is the SF90 Stradale. What kind of alien language is that you’re speaking? Oh, no, baby, that is Italian. Take a look at this. How beautiful is she? She’s a hybrid. Oh. That must have cost us as much as those two new watches you got us. Uh, ha, ha, yeah, a little bit more than that, babe.

But I have dreamed of owning a Ferrari like this my entire life. And not just anybody can buy one of these. In fact, they are so discriminating over at Ferrari, Ferrari. They won’t even let a first time buyer buy a new car. Ah, boggles the mind. I know. So this one’s got 1, 300 miles on it, 650K. What? Are you crazy?

Probably. But I’m okay with crazy. And you know, if Victor was ever looking for a way to make it up to me for denying my birthright all these years, I think he definitely found a way to do it. So I’m trying to let go of any resentment I have towards my father for not acknowledging his son until after he was dead and buried Well, that’s good then that you are, um, letting go of all the resentment like you said Yeah Not totally but I’m getting there.

I mean my God, you know how it felt when I first found out I was Victor’s son Even knowing I might become heir to this whole massive fortune or whatever. I was miserable. I was depressed. Knowing Justin wasn’t really my father. A guy that I actually loved and respected. My brothers not really being my brothers and just knowing that I was pretty much lied to my entire life.

I just still haven’t totally gotten over the shock of that. Miss Sadness

still upsets the hell out of me, if I’m being honest with you.

But I’m a resilient guy. And kind of a material guy, so buying all stuff like this actually eases the pain a little bit.

I forgive you, Dad.

If I’m even looking in the right direction.

Let’s hope.

Brady? This is my favorite perfume. You can only get this in a little perfume shop in Chicago, so Your father must have directed you to it. I made him promise not to get it for you, so I could get it. Thank you. I’m actually, uh, I’m running out, so it’s, uh It is a perfect gift. I like perfect. You’re welcome.

You, you shouldn’t be thanking me. I need, I need to be thanking you more often. I haven’t always been grateful. I haven’t. But I’m, I’m, I’m so grateful to you now for everything you’ve done for me and my kids and my dad. See, I not only get to have you as a mother in my life, you make my father so happy.

That makes me blessed. You mean so much to me, so much to my dad, and so much to so many people in this town whose lives that you touch.

Happy Mother’s Day. Oh, God. Oh, I love you so.

Now that we have this new information, how about we go to the evidence room, pull everything that we have got on both Gil’s and Lee’s murder cases. Because now that we know that they’re connected, maybe we see something that we didn’t see before. My thoughts exactly. Let’s go. Alright, slow down. Tell me what happened.

Alright. Um, I invited Ava over earlier, and I just, I wanted to jog her memory, see if she had any clue about Lee’s murder and something that would exonerate Gabby. And, well, at first, she denied knowing anything about it. But then, while we were there She got a phone call from Harris, and he reported a bloody fingerprint on the black book that you found here at the bistro.

Okay, so blood and fingerprint. I knew that the blood had gone to the police, but you think it has something to do with Lee’s murder? Uh, I sure as hell think so, yeah. Yeah, and I think at this, um, after they analyzed it, they found Gil’s fingerprint and Lee’s blood. Okay. Wow. I can’t believe it. No, I know, I know, but let me get more specific.

They found Gil’s fingerprint in Lee’s blood on the book that belonged to Gil. Do you realize what that means? Yeah, it means that Gil is likely Lee’s murderer and not his. Gabby, not my wife.

Wow.

I was just asking Holly if she would help me with my Spanish. Except I told him it’s like my worst subject. I suck at languages. Oh, well, I’m pretty good at them, actually. So, I could even tutor you, if you want. Hablo muy bien espanol. Yeah, yeah, okay, yeah, sure, thank you. We can meet after school today, if you’re free.

Today? I’m sorry, I can’t, I promised that I would help my grandpa back at the pub, but I really appreciate the offer. How’s your nose doing, by the way? Not broken, thank God, just a little sore. I’m sorry, again. It’s okay, hey, it was an accident, and Anyway, I’m sure it’ll all be cleared up by prom, which I am so looking forward to.

And I’m really glad you’ll be taking me, Tate. It’s gonna be so dope. Yeah, definitely.

So, all this money, you’re just gonna spend it? You’re not interested in opening up, like, a trust fund for future heirs, or Actually, I’m not even sure I’m gonna have kids. Really, I’ve never even considered myself, like, the father type. More the private jet, yacht type. Uh huh. But what about carrying on Victor’s legacy and his name?

I honestly don’t want to put that pressure on myself. Philip is still out there and plenty other Kyriakuses. Or Kyriaksai, right?

Do you know what that is? Oh, baby. This is my new drone. Your drone? What are you going to do with a drone? What do you mean? What am I not going to do with my new drone? Aerial photography? Drone racing? The possibilities are endless. Okay, yeah, but you know, I don’t think you can really fit that much more No, none of this stuff is staying here.

It’s coming with me when I move to the mansion.

Alrighty. Tell me all about your trip. It was mostly business. Work, like I said. Except for my little stop at the perfumery, of course. Yeah. I know you, I know you get to Chicago quite often. Um, I hope that you enjoy the town. You know, that you don’t just stay. Hold up in your hotel room for room service? I got out once or twice, but You know, the funny thing is, the last time I was in Chicago, I was with Rachel on a school trip.

And I have to say, it sounds nuts, but I think I prefer dining in a cafeteria with a hundred fourth graders than in some swanky restaurant with a boring business associate. Even, even, even devouring a deep dish pizza in my room. I know how much you love her. I do. I really do. It’s amazing how much that little girl can change in a week.

It is. She’s so smart. Precociously smart, as you know. Yes, I know she is precocious. And I adore her. And I wish you had more time with her. I mean, I wish, I wish you had shared custody. Yeah, me too. It’s driving me a little crazy that Alex is getting to spend all this time with, with Rachel. You know, I, I don’t, I don’t think that Alex and Kristen are serious.

I didn’t, I didn’t, I didn’t think they were either, but I’m beginning to wonder because unless it’s a pure act, they’re really demonstrative with each other. It’s, yeah. Well, there’s a bad visual. I’m sorry. Wipe that out. Tell me. What did Carissa think about it? She doesn’t like it at all. You know what? I don’t need her.

Why in the hell would Gil want to kill Lee? I mean, they didn’t even know each other, did they? Well, not that Ava was aware of. Lee wasn’t part of the drug ring. No, I, no, I don’t, no, I don’t know. I mean, but Gil definitely was. And just, just follow my lead on this. Alright. Gil showed up at the apartment not long after Lee died and attacked Ava.

Right, and that’s when Ava shot him to death. Right, yes, yes. But what if that wasn’t the first time that Gil wanted to get his hands around her? What if he was waiting for Ava the first time? And Lee just happened to show up and Found gill and then gill who wants to keep things clean Killed me. All right.

So gill was actually looking for ava and Ever really intended to kill Lee? Yeah, exactly. Lee just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Wow.

Shoot, I gotta get to chem class and it’s way on the other side of school. Damn, that sucks. Yeah, I’m kidding. Super long walk. All uphill. I’m off. Okay. See ya, Sophia. Later? Yeah, definitely. For Spanish tutoring, right? Right. Later. Muy bien. No puedo esperar. Ah, whatever that means. It means, I can’t wait. See ya.

My God, I feel terrible that I told her that would be her date to prom. Why? You know she’s like super thrilled to be going with you. Yeah, but I’m not thrilled to be going with her. She’s cool, but I don’t know. I just am kind of dreading it. Pretending I’m into her or whatever. I just, I don’t want her to get the wrong idea.

Well, If she does, she does. And you have to be honest with her. Besides, it’s not like she gave you much of a choice. You know, when you hit her face with that ball. Thank you. Yes, that’s true. And unless we come clean with her about us, she’s gonna be really hurt that I’m not interested in her. But you know, we already talked about it.

It’s not the smartest move.

Tate? Yeah? I have to admit, I’m actually glad you’re going to the prom with Sofia. What? What are you talking about? Why would you be glad? Because this isn’t fair. What are, what are you saying? What isn’t fair? I mean, us sneaking around just so we can have five minutes alone together? I mean, you should be able to hang out with a girl with, with no restrictions or anything.

I’m sorry, Holly, I really, I don’t, I don’t understand what you’re saying here. What I’m saying is, Sophia is a really great person. So So I don’t know, maybe you should actually give her a chance. That is crazy. No, no, I, I don’t want to give her a chance. I want to be with you. And I want to be with you too, but I don’t, Tate, it’s kind of starting to feel like maybe this just isn’t meant to be, you know?

Brady, do you think that Alec is a bad influence on Rachel? Actually, I do. Yeah, I think, I think he’s shallow. I think he’s a womanizer. I think he, I think he thinks he’s God’s gift and just acts like it. I have to disagree. I’ve spent a little bit of time with him. I don’t find him shallow. Well, in any case, I don’t want any guy hanging around my daughter that isn’t me.

And if he starts spending more time with Rachel than I’m allowed to, That’s not gonna sit well with me. That’s gonna make my head explode. Okay, so as it stands now, Gil is most likely Lee’s killer. But how the hell do we prove that? It’s not like Gil and Lee are among the living. Reasonable doubt. I mean, that’s all we need.

Somebody’s been watching her Law Order, huh? I am a rapid fan. I’m going and speaking at Law Order. Ahem. What’s now? Well, we need a list. A list of everyone who worked here when Gil did. Starting with when Lee Shin was killed. Don’t make me get a warrant. Okay, if this has anything to do with the blood on the black book, you can have whatever you want.

How’d you know about that? You know, I remind you, I was the one who found it. I turned it into the police, so Harris filled me in. Commissioner, this is What we want, right? My wife free, your sister free, you and I, we’re finally on the same side here. So yeah, whatever you need, I’m willing to help in any way I can.

Okay, then. Let’s start with the personnel records. In the office. This way. You’re moving out? Hell yeah, I am. As soon as the Hortons move back home. You know, it’s huge as the mansion is, and it’s half mine, but, you know, east wing, west wing, ten bedrooms, it’s a little bit crowded for me. You know, between Doug and Julie being there, and Chad and the kids, I mean, it’s gonna be bad enough that I have to deal with Maggie and her new husband.

Aww, baby. Are you gonna miss me? Teresa, if you were worried about finding another place to live, especially now with the whole job situation, do not think about it for another second. You stay here as long as you want, I’ll continue to pay the rent. It’s pocket change. Oh my god, Alex, you don’t get it, do you?

What don’t I get? Teresa, what are you talking about? I’m I’m talking about me living alone in this apartment while you move into the East Wing, West Wing, 10 bedroom mansion. I don’t, I don’t want to live here without you, Alex. Oh. Oh, okay. Um. But seriously, that surprises you? Uh, yeah, it does. Sort of. Theresa, I thought you would, you know, would enjoy having more room to yourself.

I mean, we don’t see each other as it is, very much. You can have Tate over whenever you want. He’s got his own bedroom, for God’s sake. I thought you’d be happy about it. You thought wrong. No, that, that doesn’t make me happy.

Alex, I like being with you. I like living with you. I’m happy. Together. With you. Like, really together. Okay, Theresa, now I’m genuinely confused. I know, I know. I was giving you so many mixed signals and, and, I, I made you think that I wanted to just keep this relationship platonic. And now you’re saying that’s not what you really want?

No. It’s not ever what I wanted. Brady, I

think you should have an honest conversation with Alex about your concerns. Marlena, I did. I did. He assured me in no uncertain terms that he does not want to be a father figure to Rachel in any way. And I wasn’t surprised because the guy doesn’t have one parental bone in his body. So I believe him.

You’re sounding a little threatened to me. As if you think that the more time he spends around Rachel, it will interfere with the time you have with her. Exactly, yeah. Okay, alright. I’m gonna, uh, I’m gonna chill about this whole subject, alright? Because you’ve always told me, don’t borrow trouble. That’s my mantra.

I know, and I’m going to abide by it. It’s not like Rachel has said much about Alex. She hasn’t spoken of him. Which leads me to believe that they haven’t been spending a lot of time together. But the minute they do, the minute she says, Daddy, oh, Alex took me to this, this, this, this outing or this excursion.

I’m, I shudder at the fact of hearing that. Or, or he chaperoned my school function. I’m, I’m, you know, I’m sorry. I just, I don’t, I don’t like it. But I’m going to back burner this whole issue. I think that’s a very good idea. Me too. I’m glad you agree. So, what did I miss while I was away? Oh, Tate got his tux for the prom.

Oh, I remember seeing him all duded up. Oh, so am I. And I’m also very happy about the fact that he is moving on from Holly. Yeah. Yeah, I guess he’s going to the prom with Holly. Somebody named Sophia. Yeah, yeah, he, he told me. I don’t know much about her. But he said that she’s smart and, what did he say, fun.

Smart, fun. That’s good. Yeah. And, and I, I think he’s having a hard time being away from Holly, but I’m glad to see that he’s trying to move on. Me too. Especially considering, uh, apparently Holly and Nicole had a bad relationship. Big old fight outside of the bistro because Nicole isn’t allowing Holly to go to the prom.

Teresa told me about it. Apparently Holly was screaming at the top of her lungs or something. Well, I’m sorry to hear that, but I do understand that Nicole would be reluctant to have her go, especially after what happened on New Year’s Eve. And we all know about the peer pressure about going to prom and You know, getting wasted and et cetera, and et cetera.

Yeah. Well, it is, it’s an all night event and there is the, um, yeah, the window of time for the et cetera. Yeah. Et cetera stuff. It, it, it reminds me when I was asked to, to chaperone the last blast dance at Victor’s request, and I remember leaving that night thinking. I’m never having kids. I’m not dealing with this.

Well, you broke that little promise to yourself. Yeah. And I’m so glad you did. I’m glad I did too because I, I love those kids. Reminds me, I have a favor to ask of you. Anything. I want to set up a trust, uh, for Rachel and Tate. And I was hoping that you would, um, sign the documents as a witness.

Of course. Thank you.

Wow. This guarantees I won’t be very well provided for. Well, Maggie was generous enough to share some of the wealth from Victor’s will to the relatives that were seemingly cut out of it. This will take very good care. Okay. I’m Rachel and Tate’s future. I have everything I need. And now so do they. And my future grandkids.

They will be set for life.

So, Rafe and Jada are still searching, I take it? They are. Well, I hope they don’t find anything else to pin on you. They won’t. I run a clean business. Now Now, well, I guess it’s better late than never. And look, now finally you and I will hopefully get our fresh start. Right.

So? So. So we reviewed the files. Turns out most people don’t work here anymore. Hope we’ll track them down. Somebody’s bound to remember something. How long will that take? Well, I don’t know. This case is my top priority, considering it could lead to freedom for my sister. Your wife? Yeah, I mean, that’s what we want, right?

My wife, your sister, free. So whatever you need, whatever I can do, I’m all in.

Holly, I don’t, I don’t get this here. Are you saying that you want us to break up? No, it’s not that I want to. We were just Maybe it’s for the best. For the best? No, not, no, this is not for the best. In fact, it’s like the worst thing that I can think of. It’s the last thing that I want. Don’t make this harder than it has to be.

Holly. I don’t, I just don’t understand why all of a sudden you’re giving up on us. I don’t want to be with anybody else, but you and I have all these feelings for you, feelings that I. I’ve never had for anybody, I swear. Holly, I

Wait a minute. So you never wanted a breakup in the first place? No. Never. I never wanted that.

Look, Alex. You have to understand, I was really hurt and I was really embarrassed when I thought that you were going to propose to me and you didn’t. And then I overreacted and I tried to just act like I didn’t want to have anything to do with you by rejecting you. I remember it clearly. You didn’t answer my calls for days.

I know. I was really stupid and I, I regret it. Theresa, why did you reject me? Why did you push me away instead of just talking it out? I was just trying to play hard to get. You know, I just, I really wanted you to just miss me like crazy. I was hoping that maybe you’d see the errors in your ways and then you’d beg me to come back to you, but that, that didn’t happen, obviously.

And um, I just played a really risky game and it just totally backfired in my face. So you’re saying that you pushed me away when you were trying to do the opposite? Exactly.

But now I know that that was a really big mistake. And I’m not going to play any more games. I promise. Just please tell me it’s not too late.

I wonder when Maggie made the decision to share Victor’s fortune so generously. I think she decided as soon as Victor’s will went to probate. So Justin explained it to me. Why do you ask? Just curious. Hmm. You know what I’m curious about? How Constantine is going to feel about Maggie distributing all this wealth around.

Then why would you say that? Come on. You don’t think this guy is Just positioning himself to marry Maggie because he wants a big old payday. I do. I just hope that Maggie is smarter than that. She’s always been smart. She’s not easily manipulated, but I’ll tell you what, I don’t like this guy. I don’t know, maybe it’s just me.

No. I don’t like this guy either. Well, the nightmare isn’t over yet. But we’re closer than ever to finding the truth and freeing Gabby. Thank God. So what do we do next? Well, so far what we have is circumstantial, not conclusive. But that’s okay. We just need to get Li Xin’s murder case reopened and, you know, cast doubt on the conviction.

Burden of proof lies on the prosecution. See? I told you. I’m optimistic that this will be enough.

Holly, listen to me. I want you to stop worrying about what is best for me because this is what’s best for me. Okay? Being with you. Being with you is what’s best for me, too. I just hate how complicated it’s gotten. And that’s all my fault. No, don’t talk like that. I don’t care that it’s gotten complicated as long as I have you I swear I can handle anything

Leaves the class I’ve gotta go I’ll finish this later. Okay. Yes

Maybe there is a way.

Do you have anything to say?

I mean, I’m just pouring my heart out and you’re standing there staring at me. I just, I need to know that you still want me. I want to know that you still miss being with me.

Theresa, I’m just I’m kind of thrown by what you just said. To be honest, I’m just feeling kind of confused by the whole thing. It looks like

I’m going back to the office. Is everything okay? Oh, sure. It’s just that Alex has decided to take another day off again. So when you’re filthy rich, you get to just phone it in and you rely on guys like me to do all the hard work. Okay. You do what you need to do. And thank you for the perfume. And for the talk.

Thank you.

Happy Mother’s Day.

John, I need to talk to you. About Maggie. I cannot wait to tell Gabby about this. It will really lift her spirits. Okay, listen, I know that Statesville has been rough on Gabby, but I think that we should hold off on saying anything to her. Um, do we know more? I thought you said you were optimistic. Well, I am.

But we still have to convince the D. A. to reopen the case. Oh, right. The esteemable D. A. DiMera, who hates Gabby with a passion. Not to hell with his feelings. He has no choice but to follow the evidence and the law. Let’s hope he sees it that way. Well,

thanks again for meeting me here, Ava. Yeah, it’s a good thing that, uh, Wendy and Fred left me their key while they’re in Hong Kong. But listen, I really do need to get back to the pub soon because I can’t let Roman down. You know, I’ve been kinda living on a high wire without a net since I quit the bistro.

Oh, you quit? I wasn’t aware of that. Yeah, uh, it’s for the best. Right. Well, either way, this won’t take long. Okay, good. I assume that Harris has got you up to speed on the lab analysis of Clyde’s black book? Yeah, he briefed me on that, told me that the bloody fingerprint was Gil’s, and The actual blood was these.

Right. So, as of now, the working assumption is that Gil stabbed Lee. The question is why. And the other question is Can you help us prove it?

Hey there, Thomas. Hi, Eric. How’s it going, buddy? Good. My school is testing on take your kid to work day, so we’re doing it today instead. Alright, so does that mean you’re going to be my boss? No. I don’t want to be the boss. I want to be a reporter, just like my mom.

Hey. Are you surprised to see me? Sorry, I thought you’d still be at the Spectator. I’m going back. I just took a break to hopefully see Holly after school. I’m hoping to mend some fences. Is she still around?

[ Knock on door ]

Daniel: Hey. Is this a bad time?

Lily: What are you doing here?

Daniel: Well, I texted you asking if I could stop by, but I never heard back, so…

Lily: Well, I’m busy.

Daniel: Right. But I checked with esther and she seemed to think that you might have some time in between your meetings.

Lily: Well, she thought wrong. I don’t have time for whatever this is.

Daniel: I wanna discuss the lawsuit. The arbitration date’s coming up.

Lily: Yes, I am aware of that.

Daniel: I think that if you and I could just talk one-on-one, you know, before this all gets completely out of hand–

Lily: There’s nothing to talk about. You’re suing chancellor-winters and we’re gonna fight back.

Daniel: Lily, you know this isn’t right. I’m not asking for everything. I am just asking for the pieces of omegasphere that are closest to my heart.

Devon: Gosh, dominic’s gonna be a little mountain climber, isn’t he?

Abby: Oh, my gosh, he’s obsessed with the monkey bars. It took a while for him to get the hang of ’em, but now he is a pro.

Devon: I know. Nothing stops him either. He’ll fall down, scrape himself up, get blisters and bruises.

Abby: Oh, yeah, he just dusts himself off and gets back up again.

Devon: Where do you think he gets that stubbornness from? You or me?

Abby: Hm. Okay, I might be a little bit stubborn, but you…

Devon: I know. I can take it to another level.

Abby: I think it’s a good thing, though.

Devon: Really?

Abby: Yeah. So, before you mentioned that there were some things going on at work? No, what is it? Was it mamie?

Devon: No. It’s, uh, billy, actually.

Abby: Billy, yeah. Of course. What did he do this time?

Devon: He told lily and me that jill handed over all of her power at chancellor-winters to him.

Abby: Wait, what?

Devon: Yeah.

Abby: All of her power?

Devon: All of her power. She’s taken a step back and he has control.

Abby: Okay, well that doesn’t make any sense.

Devon: No, it doesn’t make any sense at all. Which is why I don’t think jill made this call on her own.

Abby: What do you mean?

Devon: I mean that this feels like a move by billy to assert his control over us. And I’m not gonna stand for it.

Ashley: Hi. Well, hi. Fancy meeting you here.

Audra: Oh, look who it is.

Ashley: Yeah, so please tell me you’ve wised up about tucker.

Audra: Oh, my god, we’re back to that?

Ashley: I know, I’m sorry. I can’t help it. I really can’T. I mean, I just don’t understand why you’re so taken with him. Oh, well. I guess everybody has their blind spots.

Audra: Um, of the two of us, I’m the one with the issues here.

Ashley: You know what, here you are all by yourself, right? A grown woman ready to take on the world. So maybe you really have ditched that snake?

Audra: Sorry to disappoint you, but tucker and I are solid. We’re connected.

Ashley: Aw.

Audra: We’re actually leaving town for a bit.

Ashley: Travel? I love that. Where to?

Audra: You know where.

Ashley: No? Seriously, you’re going to… what? I mean, oh, I know, because tucker’s relationships always work out so well for him in paris.

Tucker: Hey, doc.

Alan: Ah, alan will do. Good to see you, tucker.

Tucker: Good to see you too. Leaving so soon?

Alan: Um, yes. I have business elsewhere.

Tucker: So, you’re just gonna leave your friend, ashley, in the lurch here?

Alan: Is that how you see it?

Tucker: Yeah. That’s how I see it. She needs help. Desperately. You gotta do something about it. Hellmann’s real mayonnaise.

Announcer: Additional sponsorship provided by… -you got this buddy.

-During an asthma attack,

Alan: And what kind of help do you think I can offer ashley?

Tucker: You’re the psychologist. You’re her friend. I am asking you to stay on top of this. Don’t go on your merry way now.

Alan: This matters a lot to you.

Tucker: It’s not really about me, though. Give her some insight. Give her some guidance. Be her therapist. Be her friend. Whatever. Just do something.

Alan: Look, I don’t think ashley would be very comfortable with me discussing her with her ex.

Tucker: All right, then consider me a concerned friend.

Alan: Okay. Well, what makes you so certain that she needs psychological therapy? There must be some kind of signs you’ve seen to bring you to this conclusion.

Tucker: Oh, man, I could give you a play-by-play of all her disturbing and bizarre behavior since our honeymoon in paris.

Alan: I know. I understand that didn’t end too well.

Tucker: No, it did not. She convinced herself that I would behave violently toward her. And it took her months to realize she was mistaken about that. But ever since, it’s been one wild personality swing after the other.

Alan: Well, people are entitled to their emotions.

Tucker: It’s deeper than that. I mean, given your profession and how well you know her, you have to have seen that. And her family is absolutely terrified for her. Has, um, uh, traci or jack approached you?

Alan: Do you think it’s possible that some of what ashley’s going through might be a result of your behavior, or…

Tucker: I will admit to you that I was not the perfect husband in the short time we were married. And I’m very sorry for the ways we hurt each other. We both made mistakes. Um… and I probably could’ve been a little more supportive.

Alan: Have you told ashley that?

Tucker: Alan, whatever is going on with ashley is not gonna be solved by a kind word from me. So, you can catch your flight or you can stick around and do something to help her. She is not gonna get well if left on her own.

Audra: Do you find this entertaining? Because I find it boring.

Ashley: Oh, I’m just trying to make friendly conversation.

Audra: Well, maybe you can find someone else to have it with. You know, someone you haven’t insulted a dozen times.

Ashley: I totally get that.

Audra: Look, lady, I am not trying to be rude, but I just don’t see the point. I– I don’t know what you want from me.

Ashley: I don’t want anything from you. I really don’T. I just– as you know, I think you can do better. I mean, tucker’s not worth the trouble. That’s all.

Audra: Yeah, for you, obviously. But tucker isn’t trouble for me. We have something real and honest and it’s unlike anything I’ve ever had before.

Ashley: Unlike anything you’ve ever had and that’s a good thing?

Audra: You know, you either don’t want to see how solid tucker and I are or you just can’t understand. But I don’t give up on him when things get tough. I don’t give him mixed messages or patronize him. That’s the difference.

Ashley: Wonderful. Love should be cherished and celebrated and I wish you only the best.

Audra: You know, maybe that visit from your therapist friend is helping. You seem a little more even-keeled.

Ashley: Alan, mm. He’s a charmer, isn’t he?

Audra: You might wanna be careful there.

Ashley: Oh, why?

Audra: Well, you know, the whole doctor-patient thing. Might not be the best idea to get involved with your therapist.

Ashley: Look at you. You’re gonna give me dating advice? Now, that’s adorable.

Abby: Okay, yes. I understand why you would be suspicious of billy. The method and the timing of the announcement is quite strange.

Devon: Yeah, I’d say so. Especially since jill hasn’t mentioned a word of it. And we’ve been on calls with her and in meetings about the daniel lawsuit and about mamie and nothing.

Abby: Okay, so what’s jill’s explanation?

Devon: Oh, we don’t get to hear it. You know why? ‘Cause billy told us she’s unreachable while traveling.

Abby: Okay, that is odd.

Devon: Yeah.

Abby: So billy drops this huge bomb and jill’s not even around to corroborate it?

Devon: Nope. It’s classic billy. To do something that’s underhanded with an ulterior motive.

Abby: Okay, look. Let’s say that billy is telling the truth and jill has handed her role over to him. Is it so she can focus on her personal life instead of business? She has earned the right to do that.

Devon: Sure she has, but she wouldn’t do that without talking to me and lily first. We’re her partners.

Abby: Well, that would’ve been a much better way to handle it instead of having it come through billy.

Devon: You think so? Yeah. And also, if she did do this, why blindside us? Why blindside lily? Those two are close. She put lily in charge of chancellor industries. Just gonna pull the rug out from under her like that?

Abby: I don’t know, but she must have a good reason.

Devon: But she also is aware of the tension between me and billy. So to just hand him power like this, a grenade like that, without warning me? Come on.

Abby: Jill is smarter than that. So she’s either being careless or…

Devon: Or she wants to go to war.

Lily: I don’t know why you don’t understand this, but omegasphere is not yours. It belongs to chancellor-winters.

Daniel: That platform wouldn’t exist without me. It was my vision and my direction that made it successful.

Lily: Yeah, your vision and your direction because of our offices and our capital and our resources.

Daniel: I made princess louisa for my daughter. I made it so I could feel close to her when she was far away from me. I–I made it to prove to her that I loved her. To prove to her that I deserve to be her father. Are you really just not sympathetic to any of that?

Lily: Just because you want something doesn’t mean that you’re entitled to have it.

Daniel: Well, I was hoping that maybe you had changed your mind.

Lily: Why would I do that?

Daniel: I don’t know. You know, I thought maybe just with a little bit of time, things would’ve cooled off between us.

Lily: Oh, you mean after you cheated on me?

Daniel: What happened between us–

Lily: No, nothing happened between us. I was gone, remember? Helping my daughter in california while you were sleeping with heather behind my back. And now you want me to do you this very expensive favor? For what? Old time’s sake?

Daniel: So you think it would be better just to punish me by taking away everything that I made?

Lily: You didn’t make it on your own. And you definitely don’t get to keep it.

Daniel: Okay. You know, I am sorry that I hurt you. I am. But we need to keep this separate.

Lily: It is separate.

Daniel: Is it? Because it doesn’t feel that way. It feels like you’re only gonna be happy if you crush me. It feels like this is just all about revenge.

Hey! Asthma’s

got you going through it?

Lily: We really shouldn’t have this conversation without lawyers present.

Daniel: Okay, look, if it’s not about revenge, then tell me. What is it?

Lily: Fine. I mean, I’ll– I’ll tell you, even though I don’t owe you anything.

Daniel: Please. Thank you.

Lily: You wanna maintain a portion of omegasphere and I’m not gonna allow that for the good of the company. It’s nothing personal.

Daniel: Okay.

Lily: And you signed a contract. You agreed to the terms in the deal.

Daniel: I am not hurting the company by asking for what I deserve.

Lily: Well, you kind of are, because we’ve invested a lot of time and money and resources into omegasphere and the games on it.

Daniel: No one’s disputing that.

Lily: And it’s of great value to the company.

Daniel: It is to me, too.

Lily: And per the contract, we own the ip. So, if we hand you back bits and pieces for free because you can’t afford to buy us out, that undercuts our bottom line.

Daniel: Okay. That’s what it’s about, right? The bottom line.

Lily: Yeah. Gotta start over from scratch. It’s gonna decimate what you created. I mean, is that what you want?

Daniel: I get it. You’re just looking out for the company.

Lily: Yeah. It’s my job.

Daniel: You know, you have a lot of logic and the law behind you, but it’s also something for you to hide behind.

Lily: Okay.

Daniel: Lily, I’ve known you almost my entire life. We’ve always had each other’s back. We’ve always been there for each other. We’ve even loved each other, and now I’m coming to you as a friend, and as someone who adored you, and I am begging you. Please do not take this from me.

Abby: Okay, I don’t think we should jump to conclusions or make any assumptions about what billy and jill are up to.

Devon: It’s kind of hard not to, given the circumstances, ’cause I know that jill has no reason to give up control.

Abby: And the way this whole thing was delivered, I mean, it’s definitely very odd.

Devon: Yeah. To say the least.

Abby: So, if it’s true, if jill really is handing all of her power over to billy, what do you wanna do?

Devon: I don’t wanna let my mind go there until lily and I actually have a conversation with jill. That’s what I’m gonna do.

Abby: You’re frustrated.

Devon: If this is real, yeah, I am.

Abby: I know– I know there have been a lot of changes at chancellor-winters recently, and it has been chaotic, to say the least.

Devon: Yeah. And it all started when lily went out of town. And billy was brought in, and then chance was brought in, mamie started causing issues. We’ve just never found our footing.

Abby: At least chancellor-winters has remained profitable.

Devon: Yeah, but how long can that last? You can’t do good business when management is unstable like this. What?

Abby: Through all the changes and the tension that it’s brought, how do you think neil would’ve handled it?

Audra: Believe me, I have no desire to interfere in your romantic life.

Ashley: Hm, much appreciated.

Audra: You know, not that I’m an expert on ethics, but isn’t it unethical for a therapist to be involved with this client?

Ashley: Alan’s not my therapist. We’re friends.

Audra: Oh, of course.

Ashley: Oh, don’t tell me you don’t think men and women can be friends.

Audra: Well, I’ve seen you with him, and it definitely looked more than just friendly.

Ashley: You think so?

Audra: I do. And I think I know what you’re after.

Ashley: What’s that?

Audra: You lure alan in, charm him, flirt with him, maybe even try to get him to fall in love with you. But it’s all a distraction, you know, because he’ll be too busy crushing on you to focus on your psychological problems. But it’s a con, and he’ll never see it coming.

Ashley: That’s quite the juicy plot you’ve cooked up, sister.

Audra: I don’t know, it can’t be easy to hide whatever is happening to you. Not with a psychologist hovering.

Ashley: Okay, look, is alan brilliant at what he does? Yes. And is he attractive? Yes. And have I noticed? Of course. But see, we’re not involved in a professional way, so nothing to be concerned about.

Audra: Well, I’m not concerned. But does that mean you– you won’t pursue him?

Ashley: Well, I’m always open to whatever the universe has in store for me. Bye.

Tucker: Ashley’s attitude towards me is constantly shifting. Uh… one minute, she will approach me and wanna reconnect with me and she’ll intimidate audra, telling audra that ashley’s the one that should be with me. And then the next minute, she’ll just reject me outright. She’ll lash out, she’ll imply threats.

Alan: You mean threatening violence?

Tucker: Yes, uh, audra told me about an incident where ashley seemed to be talking about herself in the third person, saying that she was out to get me. So, yeah, something needs to be done, and immediately. Someone needs to step up here, whether it’s you or her family.

Alan: Well, all of this, um, it does sound concerning, but it could be just a misunderstanding.

Tucker: I bet you’re good at poker. What hand am I holding right now?

Alan: I’m afraid I don’t follow.

Tucker: What am I thinking?

Alan: I don’t do parlor tricks or play games, tucker.

Tucker: Humor me.

Alan: All right. You’re guilty.

Tucker: As in, I’m to blame?

Alan: You’re worried that ashley’s suffering from severe trauma, pain she’s carrying from how you treated her, and you’re hoping she will seek help.

Tucker: Mm-hmm. And that would benefit me how?

Alan: Well, if ashley does get help from me or from someone else, then, well, you’re off the hook for having hurt her. A lot of new dry eye patients

Tucker: That’s an interesting take, doc.

Alan: You don’t agree?

Tucker: I’ve already accepted my responsibility for hurting ashley. I’m not entirely to blame here.

Alan: I’m sure that’s true.

Tucker: I really want her to get help and get better for her own sake and for her family. Oh, and by the way, I’ve moved on from her romantically. And I sleep very well at night.

Alan: Well, obviously, I’m not as good at reading people as you thought.

Tucker: But what about ashley? How do you read her?

Alan: I’m not prepared to discuss ashley with you.

Tucker: But…

Alan: Thank you.

Tucker: Did you forget something? Or have you decided to stay and booked another room?

Alan: Well, my business can wait. I’ve just arrived here in genoa city. I see no reason to rush off.

Tucker: Love it. So, you have decided to stick around and help her. That decision was made before I sat down, wasn’t it?

Alan: Was it?

Tucker: You’re good, alan. I sat here and gave you all this information and you just ate it up with a spoon, didn’t you? I like your style.

Alan: I wish you well, tucker.

Tucker: You too.

Devon: Neil would tell us that we need to cut through our issues and figure out how to work together or walk away.

Abby: But you don’t wanna walk away. You already tried to do that.

Devon: I would love to walk away. I really would. But I can’t do that. I can’t do that to lily. And our partnership is too important to us. And I– I would feel awful taking a step back and just watching everything that we worked for fall apart.

Abby: So, there’s no way that you and billy can work on things?

Devon: I don’t know how because billy’s not interested in changing his ways.

Abby: No way for the two of you to just hash things out?

Devon: Honestly, I don’t want to. I really don’t want to ’cause I feel like he is a threat to the company and he needs to be gone.

Abby: But if jill wants him in that role…

Devon: Then we need to figure out a clever way to get him out.

Abby: Now, I’m worried.

Devon: The only thing you need to be worried about is the damage that he could do if he stays. ‘Cause what billy’s doing is underhanded and I need to figure out how to undercut him in return.

Abby: Devon, that is not who you are. You do not play dirty.

Devon: Well, I am gonna do whatever it takes to protect the company, all right? ‘Cause this is war that billy’s declared. And if I don’t do something, we could lose everything.

Lily: Well, if I didn’t know any better, I would say that sounded like a guilt trip.

Daniel: I know that I’m pushing, but I cannot walk away from this.

Lily: There is nothing I can do.

Daniel: Just give me princess louisa. That game is like a love letter to my kid. Let me hang on to that and–

Lily: It’s not my call. The board voted to keep all of omegasphere’s intellectual property. I can’t just undo that.

Daniel: I understand that, but if you backed down, said you changed your mind, then other members might follow.

Lily: Well, there’s no guarantee.

Daniel: Oh, come on. Devon and nate, they’ll do whatever you think is best. Jill, she respects your perspective. So does billy.

Lily: There are more factors at play.

Daniel: Okay. They know this is about you and me and they are just trying to make this easier on you.

Lily: That might be your perception, but it’s not true. It’s about the company.

Daniel: Okay, well I still think other board members would follow your lead.

Lily: Listen, we have enough things on our plate right now.

Daniel: You’re stressed about something. You wanna talk about it?

Lily: With you? No.

Daniel: Fair enough. Look, I know I am asking a lot, but this is as big as it gets for me. I believe that we can figure out a solution.

Lily: Look, no promises, okay? I can revisit it with the board when it’s convenient and that’s all I can tell you.

Daniel: That’s all I can really ask for then. Thank you for that much. Right. Good luck. With whatever else it is that you’re dealing with.

[ Lily sighs ]

Jill: Hello, lily. Sorry for the delay.

Lily: Jill, what the hell? Did you really give billy all of your power behind our backs? It was one thing when my mom got alzheimer’s,

Announcer: The young and the restless will continue.

Audra: You won’t believe this.

Tucker: Try me.

Audra: Ashley just wished us well.

Tucker: As in, I wish you well as I watch you plummet to your deaths after I push you off a cliff?

Audra: She said she hopes we have a wonderful life together.

Tucker: And how did this come about?

Audra: Well, I– I ran into her at society. At first, she told me that I could do better than you.

Tucker: No question about that.

Audra: Well, after I defended our relationship and connection, she backed down. She said she was glad that we were happy and had each other.

Tucker: I’m sure she is.

Audra: You know, it’s such a weird switch from before. When she insisted she was your one true love, you know?

Tucker: Mm-hmm.

Audra: You know, she’s all over the place emotionally. Well, I don’t wanna make it worse by giving her a hard time.

Tucker: Aw, such a kind person.

Audra: You know, maybe this shift has something to do with her therapist friend. Maybe he really is helping her.

Tucker: It’s possible.

Alan: Ah, hello.

Ashley: There you are.

Alan: I am so sorry. There was a delay in getting into my new room.

Ashley: No, that’s okay. I’m just so happy you’re sticking around.

Alan: Oh, me too. You know, um, I had a little bit of a run in with your ex-husband.

Ashley: Ah! He’s just such a selfish pig. Don’t you think? I mean, honestly, he just likes to hear himself talk and yap, yap, yap, yap, yap.

Alan: Well, he did seem genuinely concerned. I think he carries a lot of guilt over what happened between you two.

Ashley: Please. Tucker does not do guilt. He doesn’t do any emotion, really.

Alan: But he may care about you more than you realize.

Ashley: Well, poor him. I am only interested in better things.

Tessa: Can I help you?

Daniel: No. Uh, I’m– I’m sorry. I’m just a little distracted.

Tessa: Oh, that’s okay.

Daniel: I recognize you.

Tessa: Um, we have mutuals on social media. You’re summer’s brother, daniel. I’m tessa, mariah’s wife. Uh, cassie’s sister.

Daniel: Yes. No, all of that is true, um… what I meant is I am a fan of your music. I’ve actually played some of your songs on repeat.

Tessa: Oh my gosh, thank you. I– I really appreciate that.

Daniel: I appreciate it. It’s helped me get through some rough times.

Tessa: Well, that’s what music is for. Not to be pushy, but is now a rough time?

Daniel: That’d be an understatement.

Tessa: Well, I mean, I can’t play a song here, but there’s drinks and food to cheer you up. I’ve also been told that I’m a good listener, if you need someone to talk to.

Daniel: That’s okay. I’m sure that you’re busy. I didn’t even realize that abby had hired you on staff.

Tessa: Well, I’ve been told I’m a fabulous manager and also a good listener. So, I don’t know… why don’t you give me a shot? I might surprise you.

Jill: I assume that billy explained to you what’s happening?

Lily: Yes, but I wanna hear it from you. You’re stepping back and just giving billy control?

Jill: That’s right.

Lily: But why would you do that? Why– why now?

Jill: Because devon is determined to push billy out of the company.

Lily: Jill, I wouldn’t have let that happen.

Jill: Please, lily. Devon is determined to get him out. And I had to make sure that that wasn’t possible. And that’s why I didn’t warn you and devon about my decision.

Lily: Oh, so you just blindsided us. I mean, I thought we trusted each other.

Jill: Devon forced my hand. He has never given billy a chance. He’s never taken him seriously. Well, now he has to.

Lily: Because billy is the new you.

Jill: This move is binding, lily. And I believe it will help the company.

Lily: How?

Jill: By limiting arguments. Billy now has my role and my power equal to that of you and devon.

Lily: So where does that leave you?

Jill: I’m not walking away. I will still be available as an advisor.

[ Lily scoffs ]

Lily: And that’s that?

Jill: That’s that. So, now you and devon and billy will all be forced to work together. And we can get back to business.

Lily: No, jill. You are wrong. This is not a solution. You have made things so much worse. When you have chronic kidney disease,

Tessa: And for the record, I am a fan of yours, too.

Daniel: Really?

Tessa: Yeah. Princess louisa is the best. And it’s all your vision, right?

Daniel: It was.

Tessa: I heard you named the character after your daughter. Such a cool tribute. I write songs for aria, but it’s mainly about bath time and important things like that. But someday, I would like to write an album for her, about how much we love her.

Daniel: A love letter? I was talking to lily about the game earlier and that’s what I called it. A love letter to my kid.

Tessa: And that upset you?

[ Daniel sighs ]

Daniel: Well, I don’t know if you’ve heard or not, but I am no longer working for chancellor-winters. And since they own all the rights to omegasphere and its games, they are no longer mine.

Tessa: Oh, no. I’m so sorry.

Daniel: Mm-hmm. Lily and I aren’t together anymore. That ended badly between us.

Tessa: How badly?

Daniel: I cheated on her.

Tessa: Oh. Ouch.

Daniel: Basically, I don’t have a leg to stand on, but you know, I just– I don’t wanna let go of the work that I created. Everything’s pretty much just a giant mess and it’s all kind of my fault.

Tessa: Hm. I can relate to that feeling.

Daniel: So, you’ve ruined your own life, too.

Tessa: Um… yeah, I mean, it felt that way, but, ah, it all worked out. I’m just saying that I have plenty of experience of causing trouble for myself and the ones around me.

Ashley: I wanna make you a promise. I am never gonna scare you off again because I want you to stay around as long as possible.

Alan: Well, that sounds lovely.

Ashley: Good.

Alan: You know, tucker seemed intrigued that I was staying in town, too.

Ashley: Oh, yeah? Intrigued how?

Alan: Well, he seemed to think it was for professional rather than personal reasons. Started asking a lot of questions.

Ashley: Oh. Did you humor his curiosity?

Alan: I didn’t see a need to.

Ashley: Ah, good answer.

Alan: Tucker is the kind of man who, um, well, if he wants something, he thinks he deserves it. He’s entitled. And I, uh– I’m not inclined to help.

Ashley: I like that about you. But I don’t care what tucker says or what he does. I just wanna focus on what’s right in front of me.

Tucker: We have to move on from the issue of ashley. It won’t seem to move on from us.

Audra: Yeah, she’s suddenly all up in my face. I never know which attitude I’ll get next.

Tucker: All right, let’s let it go. Right now, okay? Let’s– let’s make a conscious effort to drop the subject of her. No more. Now and forever, right? ‘Cause I– I just wanna concentrate on us. And I wanna get the hell out of this town. Let’s book an earlier flight, right? ‘Cause we’re ready to– yes! We’re ready to go. We’re packed. Let’s do it. You dis– what, you disagree?

Audra: About this trip? Uh… you’re not trying to run away from something, are you?

Abby: I really don’t wanna think the worst of billy. And I hope his intentions aren’t as bad as you think they are.

Devon: Yeah, but what if they are?

Abby: If billy is doing all this without jill’s approval, then he would essentially be gaining more power and control for himself.

Devon: Exactly. And if he gets exposed, then jill will be pissed and lily will never trust him again.

Abby: Okay, but what would billy have to gain from that? He’s smarter than that. So before you draw up battle plans, you need to figure out what he’s really up to.

[ Phone buzzes ]

Devon: Well, this is lily. Hey.

Lily: Hey. Jill finally called me back.

Devon: And what’d she say?

Lily: Everything billy said is true. She handed him her control.

Devon: Wow, wow, wow. Um, okay. Uh, there’s something that I need to take care of first and then I’m gonna come straight to the office.

Lily: Well, make it fast. We don’t have time to lose.

Devon: All right.

Abby: Yeah, uh, go. Dominic and I will be fine.

Devon: I’d much rather be spending time with you guys than dealing with this.

Abby: I know. But what’s so urgent that you have to do that before you stop by the office? Please don’t do something that you’ll regret.

Devon: I won’T. I promise. I love you.

Abby: I love you too.

Devon: Gonna say bye to dominic.

Abby: Yeah.

[ Doorbell rings ] You must be isaac.

Tessa: Work and romance can definitely be messy when they intersect. Picture it. An awesome trip to san francisco to a music festival. Me and noah newman. Mariah and devon.

Daniel: Not you and mariah?

Tessa: No, we were very much not a couple back then. I was seeing noah. Mariah was seeing devon. And there was chemistry between mariah and me. But I was signed to devon’s label. Not selling well. And in some really deep denial about mariah. And in a truly brilliant move, I used her journal for inspiration without her permission. Yeah, that mistake cost me a job, a friend and a boyfriend.

Daniel: Wow. Yeah, no, that is a mess.

Tessa: Yeah. My whole world fell apart.

Daniel: But it didn’t stay that way.

Tessa: Hm. But I had help putting the pieces back together for the best life possible.

Daniel: Well, you know, if you could tell me how to do that, step by step, if possible. I would forever be in your debt.

Ashley: This is so pretty. Definitely one of my very favorite places.

Alan: Ah, it’s absolutely lovely. I– I saw that it was named after a woman named, uh, katherine chancellor. Did you know her?

Ashley: Yeah, I did. Somewhat, sure.

Alan: Then she must’ve been quite a powerful figure in town.

Ashley: Quite the mogul. Why can’t I remember ashley’s past?

Ms. Abbott: Because I want you to fail, you dumbass.

Alan: Are you– are you okay?

Ashley: Yeah, I’m just enjoying the sunshine. The company. It’s been a while since I’ve been so at ease, you know.

Alan: Ashley, I, uh–

Ashley: I really wanna kiss you. I’ve been wanting to kiss you ever since you first came to town.

Audra: You know, you never answered my question.

Tucker: Audra, I am not running away from anything. I just– I wanna get away. With you. Focus on you. You’re all that matters.

Devon: Hey. Do you have a second? ‘Cause I can use your help.

Days of Our Lives Update

Days of Our Lives logo

Update written by Joseph

Stephanie and Everett go to the Brady Pub after playing pickleball. They joke about the time they had until Stephanie gets a cramp in her leg, so Everett massages her leg which she admits feels good. Stephanie says she’s glad they did this and that he suggested it.

Rafe joins Jada at the police station and informs her that the results came from the crime lab on the black book that Harris gave them and they are processing it further now. Jada calls it their first potential break. Rafe talks about how Clyde needs that book, but they weren’t able to crack the code as the department is not used to seeing that. Jada hopes Harris has better luck with his Navy buddies.

Kristen and Ava have coffee together at the DiMera Mansion. They talk about how long they have been friends. Kristen recalls when they were in the convent in Italy. Ava questions why she invied her over. Kristen claims she just thought they could catch up but Ava is not buying it. Ava asks Kristen what she really wants.

Nicole and Eric go to the park. Nicole complains about the look in Holly’s eyes when she said she hated her. Eric encourages that she’s just angry. Nicole cries that she’s just trying to protect Holly because the thought of her partying at prom triggers her in to remember that Holly almost died. Eric understands. Nicole wishes that Holly understood. Eric suggests just giving her time to cool off and says he’s sorry that she had a difficult Mother’s Day. Nicole knew it would be but didn’t think it would end with her daughter hating her.

Sloan watches over Jude at home and wonders how this is it how will always be, with Eric working with Nicole while they are alone or if it’s all going to come crashing down. EJ then shows up at her door.

Rafe decides to call the lab to give them a nudge but Jada convinces him not to as the lab will call when they have something. Jada encourages that it will be soon and says she’s even more motivated to bring down Clyde and Goldman. Rafe and Jada talk about a stack of cold cases. Jada doesn’t want Clyde to be found as a cold case decades later by some rookie cop wondering why they dropped the ball.

Sloan guesses that EJ got the DNA results which he confirms. Sloan says she knows the results are exactly what she told him they would be. EJ sits down and acknowledges that Sloan was not lying this time as Nicole is Jude’s mother and Eric is his father. Sloan declares that now the question is, what EJ is going to do about the truth.

Eric complains to Nicole that this guy was supposed to be here twenty minutes ago. Nicole suggests trying again later but Eric points out the guy they are meeting doesn’t have a phone. They then hear a noise and find what they believe is a homeless man lying behind the bench, but it turns out to be Leo.

Kristen asks Ava if she always has to have an ulterior motive. Ava calls it a little suspicious for her to invite her over out of the blue. Kristen then admits that she needs Ava’s help as she needs some information about the murder of Li Shin.

Rafe asks if Jada often goes through cold cases like a hobby. Jada says when it’s slow, she does and she hates when a case can’t be cracked. Jada talks about how hard it is on the families of the victims to not have any answers or closure and how that could really eat away for years. Rafe asks what is eating away at Jada now. Jada responds that it’s Bobby.

Stephanie and Everett go over the menu at the Brady Pub. Everett decides on a hot dog which reminds Stephanie of their first date in Seattle. They joke together and Everett recalls how badly he wanted to kiss her on that first date but he thought it was too soon.

EJ informs Sloan that he doesn’t know what he’s going to do as he doesn’t know if it’s quite sunk in yet. EJ tells Sloan that he is fascinated and questions how she pulled it off since it’s no easy task to taking a newborn baby, faking it’s death, and then passing it off as her own child. EJ assumes that she had help in this ambitious endeavor. Sloan responds that it was all her. EJ calls that quite an accomplishment. Sloan says she’s not excusing what she did, but she was devastated after her miscarriage and she and Eric wanted to adopt, but there were complications because of her past and that’s when by chance, Dimitri showed up at her door with the baby that Nicole had just given birth to on the side of the road. Sloan explains that Dimitri was supposed to bring the baby to the hospital but he was a fugitive, so he brought him here, knowing she was Leo’s lawyer and expected her to bring him to the hospital. Sloan recalls when she saw the baby and feeling like all the planets had aligned. Sloan felt she had a second chance to be a mother and help Eric raise his child. EJ asks about the adoption papers. Sloan explains that she fixed everything since she’s a lawyer. EJ questions how Leo found out. Sloan responds that Dimitri is a loose cannon and blackmailed her in to getting his charges dropped, then he told Leo all about it right before he was sent off to super max. EJ realizes that Dimitri thought the baby was his, but still chose Leo over family and calls him a backstabber. Sloan doesn’t want to talk about Dimitri and asks what EJ’s plan is for Leo.

Rafe tells Jada that he doesn’t get it. Jada explains that the cold case eating away at her is related to Bobby since when she met him in Seattle, he asked her to find information on his mom since she was a police officer. Rafe asks what happened to his mom. Jada reveals that she doesn’t know other than that she left when Bobby was little and that his father said she left one day and never came back which was traumatic for him. Jada says they would have days together where they were talking and he’d just start looking off and she knew he was thinking of her. Jada adds that it haunted him even years later.

Ava tells Kristen that other than Li being killed in the apartment she shared with her son, she knows nothing else about it or who else was involved. Kristen asks if she’s sure about that, calling it curious that there were two murders, Li’s and Gil’s, in the same apartment within days of each other. Ava calls it a coincidence and points out the police found nothing. Kristen suggests the police didn’t have enough information. Kristen asks if there’s anything Ava didn’t tell the police that could be useful.

EJ tells Sloan not to worry as he’s going to take care of Leo. Sloan asks if he means he’s going to hurt him. EJ responds that they will just take a drive to the desert where he will dig a hole about six feet deep. EJ then says he’s kidding and that Leo will be fine. Sloan reminds EJ that the only way their marriages can survive is for the secret to stay secret because he already knows if Eric and Nicole find out, they will leave them like that. EJ says they might, but Nicole is mourning the loss of a child that she thinks is dead but is alive and well, being raised by an amoral kidnapper. Sloan says she deserves the low blow shots at her, but the truth is that Nicole is going through the acceptance stage of the grieving process. Sloan questions why mess with that and open a wound. EJ argues that this would be the happiest news she has received in her life and she would be ecstatic. EJ questions what kind of amoral bastard he would be if he kept the news from her that her baby isn’t dead after all. Sloan warns that if he doesn’t keep the news, then Nicole and Eric will go live happily ever after. Sloan adds that if EJ suddenly gains a conscience, then his wife will dump him and never look back so it’s best for everybody if this just remains their little secret. Sloan states that EJ gets to live happily with Nicole while she raises her son with Eric, so everybody wins.

Eric and Nicole bring Leo to his hotel room at the Salem Inn. Eric puts Leo back in his bed which Leo questions happening again. Nicole asks about that. Eric explains that he helped Leo back to his room the other day. Leo talks about how he started drinking again. Nicole asks what’s going on and why he’s doing this to himself. Leo informs her that it’s because the love of his life sent him a Dear John letter and broke his heart beyond repair. Nicole encourages that his heart will repair eventually and he will meet someone new who is right for him. Nicole promises that things will get better. Leo questions if things got better for them. Nicole and Eric both say that it did. Nicole adds that they are now both happily married and feeling fulfilled in their lives.

EJ tells Sloan that he loves Nicole and she deserves to know, but he does not want to lose her. EJ suggests there could be a compromise where he could take the baby and tell Nicole that it’s their son, so she would be raising her child. Sloan asks if he really wants to be raising Eric’s son since he’s going to grow up looking and sounding like Eric. EJ admits he doesn’t want that. Sloan asks EJ to let sleeping dogs lie, calling it the most sane solution they have here. Sloan says it’s best for both of them and Jude. EJ questions if it is the best or most sane solution for Nicole and Jude. Sloan repeats that if the truth ever gets out, there is nothing stopping Eric and Nicole from being together. Sloan says Jude is her little boy as she’s raised him since he was born and she loves him with all her heart. Sloan asks EJ not to take him from the only family he’s ever known.

Leo complains that every time he tries to do the right thing, it ends up the wrong thing so maybe if he tries to do the wrong thing, it will be the right thing. Eric asks what he means. Leo swears he tries to do the right thing. Leo tells them about a time that he was catfished on a date. Leo tells Nicole that he just wants to help her and he wants her to be happier, but he doesn’t want to hurt Eric because he’s such a good man. Nicole asks what he’s talking about. Leo questions if EJ didn’t tell her. Nicole says no and asks what he’s talking about. Leo then complains of seeing double and passes out in the bed. Nicole tries questioning what EJ was supposed to tell her and what he’s talking about. Eric recalls the same thing yesterday where Leo tried to tell him something about Jude but then he fell asleep. Nicole wonders what is going on. Eric suggests they leave and let him sleep it off.

Kristen tells Ava that whatever she tells her, she will keep her name out of it. Ava explains that Gil came to the apartment with something Bistro related, he tried to sexually assault her, she shot him and he died and that was it. Kristen goes over how Stefan bought the Bistro and Clyde used Gabi as leverage to force Stefan to continue doing Gil’s handy work. Ava says she guesses that’s it. Ava adds that Stefan already told the police that he was working alone with Clyde and claims they were barely close, so she questions why Stefan would lie to cover for her. Kristen calls that an intriguing question. Ava doesn’t like that Kristen is implying she was one of Clyde’s minions. Kristen says they are old friends and she’s just trying to help her brother Stefan out. Kristen asks if they aren’t on the same page.

Rafe tells Jada that it’s the most he’s ever heard her talk about Bobby in an empathetic way. Jada knows she vented to him a lot about how much she detested him and she’s sorry if that got annoying. Rafe assures that he’s always there to listen and to have her back. Rafe says Jada and Bobby must have had some good times since she did end up marrying the guy. Jada says that’s because when she met him, he was kind, intelligent, and witty but then she discovered that he wasn’t the man she thought he was. Jada says she’s just happy that he finally signed the divorce papers so she can move on with her life and be with the most wonderful man who she loves with all her heart as she and Rafe then kiss.

Stephanie and Everett jokingly argue over their difference in opinion on a movie they saw. Stephanie thanks him for teaching her that card game years ago and they suggests playing it. Stephanie says they have so many memories. Everett responds that he remembers every single moment with her. Alana then enters the bar and greets him as “Bobby” as she heads on to the bar. Stephanie question who that was and if he knows her. Everett claims to have no idea who that is and suggests maybe it’s someone from Seattle. Stephanie guesses it’s a small world.

EJ goes to Leo’s room and gives him coffee to make him feel better. Leo questions why EJ is here. EJ asks if he doesn’t remember letting him in. Leo asks what happened to Nicole and Eric. EJ questions them being there with him which Leo confirms. EJ asks why they were visiting him. Leo finds a leaf in his hair and then remembers that he passed out in the park, so they brought him back. Leo remembers that he wanted to tell them the truth about Jude but he doesn’t think he got to it. EJ says thank God which Leo questions. EJ tells Leo that he doesn’t have to know why, but he is telling him that he is never to tell Eric or Nicole the truth about Jude, ever. Leo asks why they shouldn’t know. EJ declares that the baby is Eric and Sloan’s, period. Leo starts to argue but stops. EJ adds that in exchange for a lifetime of his discretion, he will transfer a very large sum of money to his bank account. EJ reminds Leo that’s what he wanted when he came to his house yesterday and says it could all be his, but only if he promises not to ask any more questions or utter another syllable about Jude ever to anyone.

Ava apologizes to Kristen for taking her question the wrong way and says she’s just a little touchy about Clyde and Gil. Kristen insists on believing Gabi did not kill Li. Ava says if she could help her, she would as Li never did anything to her, but there’s nothing she can do to help.

Rafe and Jada go over cold cases. Rafe then gets a call that the results are in and asks what they’ve got. Rafe asks if they are sure. Rafe says that’s great and hangs up. Rafe then informs Jada that the techs got a partial print off the black book and it matched Gil’s. Jada asks about the blood. Rafe then reveals it was Li Shin’s.

Nicole and Eric sit together in the town square to have coffee. Nicole talks about knowing what Leo is going through and she knows Eric does too. Eric is thankful that’s behind them. Nicole calls Eric such a good friend and says being with him really lifts her spirits. Eric tells her the same.

Leo says he could either be extraordinarily wealthy or he could be a person of integrity who tells the truth. EJ asks what it will be. Leo gives in and accepts the money so EJ informs him that the transfer is complete. EJ reminds Leo that if he keeps the promise, he will have a wonderful carefree life but if he breaks that promise, he will make sure he doesn’t have a life. Leo says he understands which EJ calls excellent.

Rafe finishes a call with Harris about the lab results. Rafe tells Jada that he believes this means that Gabi didn’t kill Li Shin and it had to be Gil. Jada asks how they prove it which Rafe calls the burning question.

Stephanie questions if Everett doesn’t want to at least talk to Alana and find out if she knew him from Seattle since maybe she could fill in some blanks. Everett says maybe he will, but he’s having a really good time and suggests they go to dinner which Stephanie accepts. Everett mentions recently discovering a sushi place in Chicago which she says sounds great. Stephanie realizes she has to get back to work, so Everett says he’ll text her. They say they’ll see each other soon as Stephanie then exits the Pub. Everett then approaches Alana at the bar and asks how they know each other and when they met. She reminds him that it was right here two nights ago and they had a drink. Everett says obviously he told her his name was Bobby. She decides to go have lunch somewhere else and exits the Pub.

Ava finishes a call with Harris. Kristen asks if everything is okay with him. Ava responds that everything is fine but it’s a coincidence that Kristen invited her over to talk about Li and Gil. Ava tells Kristen not to tell anyone about this, but Harris just got off the phone with Rafe regarding some evidence they found at the Bistro and what the lab found was unexpected. Ava reveals it proved Kristen right that Gabi didn’t kill Li. Kristen guesses Ava knows who did which she confirms.

Transcript provided by Suzanne

[ Dramatic music ]

Steffy: The woman who broke into this house, who looked exactly like, and I mean exactly like sheila… that was someone else?

Finn: Deacon was right, all along.

Steffy: The person I stabbed, that– that was a sheila look-alike? That was sugar? What, this woman who was tricked into having plastic surgery, like what?

Finn: Yes, yes. Look, do you not realize what that means? Steffy, that means that you didn’t kill sheila. Isn’t that a huge relief? That’s– that’s a huge weight lifted. You didn’t kill my birth mother, after all.

Sheila: All right, I’m– I’m glad that you convinced me to go to the hospital.

Deacon: Well, I mean, it just made good sense, right? I know finn checked you out and said you’re a-okay, but even he was pushing for it.

Sheila: Oh, my two worry warts.

Deacon: Come on.

Sheila: No, come on, but you were both right. I’m– I’m glad I went, I got a much needed check-up. And I got to scare the bejesus out of li.

[ Deacon growls ]

Ridge: Well, you must’ve misunderstood.

Hope: About sheila, no, I’m telling you what I saw.

Ridge: No, no, it was sheila, I get it, I heard you. I don’t mean that, I mean the other thing.

Liam: How anyone could think this is good news? How finn could possibly think, with no evidence whatsoever, that sheila’s reformed?

Sheila: You wanna talk about serendipity? Well, li just happens to be walking down the hallway as I’m about to be examined. What are the chances?

Deacon: And you just couldn’t pass up the opportunity, could you?

Sheila: What, to give her the shock of her life? Hell no.

Deacon: I think a lot of people are gonna be shocked when they find out that you’re still kicking.

Hope: Finn has his reasons to believe in sheila.

Ridge: He has his reasons? What reasons?

Hope: Well, he’s apparently seen a different side of her that we don’t get to see. He’s seen her growth.

Liam: Well, that’s foolish. This is pure personal bias. It’s– it’s– it’s a childish need on finn’s part to think that his mother is not a psychopath so that he can have this– this relationship that he wants with her. Do I understand that on some level? Maybe, I guess, but it’s not reality, hope.

Ridge: The shorthand for that is animals like sheila don’t change.

Hope: And I thought that too. But seeing sheila and finn together, I don’t know, maybe we should keep an open mind. And, I will say, people did say the same thing about your son, ridge.

Ridge: I know you’re not doing that. You’re not comparing those two things.

Hope: No, of course not. I am just saying that maybe, maybe we should just entertain the idea that finn could be right. That sheila is a different woman.

Ridge: You’re agreeing with finn, aren’t you?

Finn: Sugar abducted sheila. She chained her up in a warehouse. And if deacon and I wouldn’t have gotten there when we did, I don’t think she would’ve made it.

Steffy: Do you expect me to be thankful? Am I supposed to be excited that this monster is alive?

Finn: No, but isn’t there a part of you that is thankful? We thought that you killed my mother. And– and yes, look, we had been getting through it. We had been trying to put it in the past, but look, we don’t have to do that anymore. You killed the person that hated sheila. She wanted to hurt you in order to hurt her. A crazy woman.

Steffy: Okay, so a crazy woman is dead now and I’m supposed to just rejoice over the fact that another crazy woman is alive? Don’t you realize that the danger is back now?

Finn: No, that’s what I’m telling you.

Steffy: And I’m gonna be stressed over this because–

Finn: No, that’s what I’m telling you. There is no danger. Okay, it’s the exact opposite. Sheila knew what sugar was planning. She knew that she was gonna come after you and the kids. And even though she was chained up, she tried her damnedest to stop her. She tried to save you, steffy. She tried to save your life.

Sheila: I think could it have been more enjoyable scaring the bejesus out of li like that.

Deacon: Scaring her? No, you didn’t scare her. She was furious with you, and by the time I got there, she was in full-on attack mode.

Sheila: No, she’s just jealous. She was jealous because finn refused to let me die in that old abandoned warehouse. Li would have, and now they say I’m the wicked one.

Deacon: You better get used to it.

Sheila: Hm, what’s that? People wishing me dead? Because I am accustomed to that.

Deacon: That kind of reaction. You know, people freaking out when they see you. Look, especially if you’re gonna keep doing those surprise, reveal back from the dead deals. I mean, here’s a thought. Why don’t you try something just a little more, I don’t know, subtle?

Sheila: Baby, subtle is boring. I like to go big.

Deacon: Well, then you better expect some big reactions from everyone else.

Sheila: I am. And I’m looking forward to them. Especially the forresters.

Ridge: All right. We all know about finn. His weird relationship with his mother. What about you? Where are you coming from?

Hope: I haven’t forgotten what sheila has done.

Liam: Well, I hope not, because your mom’s been one of her favorite targets over the years.

Hope: I am well aware of the many horrible things that sheila has done to people that we care about. I’m just saying it might be possible that she regrets it.

Ridge: Oh, my god. Do you hear yourself?

Hope: I’ve been trying to tell you that the night that sheila was kidnapped, sugar explained her plan to sheila. That she was going to go over to steffy’s house as sheila to harm steffy and the kids. And what did sheila do? She fought. She did everything she could in her power to stop sugar from going over there. She was trying to protect steffy, kelly, and hayes.

Steffy: Sheila tried to save my life?

Finn: Yes. The– the odds were against her, but she did everything possible to try to prevent sugar from coming to you. But as hard as she tried, she couldn’t stop her. Look, if sheila is still the monster that you claim her to be, she wouldn’t care if sugar harmed you. I mean, she would probably encourage it. But because she has changed, and she genuinely loves me, and she loves you and the kids, I mean, she chose to fight.

Steffy: Oh, my god. If I died that night, finn, sheila would’ve been blamed. Anything sheila did to fight off sugar, it was selfish. It was a way for her to stay out of prison.

Finn: She loves us more than her own life. That’s what she said. There’s no questioning. It’s– it’s true. I– I heard it in her voice. I saw it in her eyes. She would’ve died, steffy. She offered her own life to save you. Can’t you see– can’t you see that my birth mother has– she has changed? Offering her own life? That’s– that’s heroic. Sheila’s a hero. Sheila: Okay, who do you think is gonna be the most shocked, ridge or brooke? I can’t– I cannot wait to walk into eric forrester’s home. You– you know, donna, she’s a screamer.

Deacon: No, not firsthand.

Sheila: Well, she’s gonna put li to shame.

Deacon: Sheila.

Sheila: Okay, come on, come on. The reveal at the hospital was brilliant. I– I wonder how we can recreate that. Maybe I go to forrester creations, ridge has got to do some alterations on a model, and boom, I’m the model that walks out.

Deacon: Does changed sheila really wanna focus on shocking people?

Sheila: Shock, not harm, and I’m not focusing on anything like that. There’s nothing nefarious here.

Deacon: Sheila, do you remember that nice, quiet life before sugar intervened?

Sheila: Yes.

Deacon: Yeah, I just think maybe you ought to give up the fantasies about scaring people and, you know, just go back to that nice, quiet life. You know, stop concentrating on getting reactions from the forrester, and focus on the two of us. On our future. On our engagement.

Sheila: You are no fun.

[ Deacon growls ]

[ Sheila laughs ]

Liam: Hope, everything that you just told us is hearsay. I mean, this sugar, she’s not available for comment, clearly. So you, finn, deacon, you’re all just– you’re just taking sheila’s word for it. The only thing that we know for a fact is that it wasn’t sheila who went and tried to kill steffy. That does not mean that sheila’s a saint all of a sudden.

Hope: Deacon and finn truly believe that sheila has changed for the better.

Ridge: Oh, deacon and finn they believe that she’s changed. Well, that’s good. But we’ve gotta keep in mind that everything she says is a lie. Everything she does is for show.

Hope: Well, for who? For sugar?

Liam: For finn!

Ridge: For finn! Of course for finn! He needs to believe that his mother has changed and that’s what she’s doing. She’s– she’s giving him all the ammunition that he needs. This may not have happened. No one saw it. But now we’re supposed to vote for mother of the year.

Hope: That is not what I am suggesting, and that’s not what I’m saying. Look, I don’t expect you to just embrace this idea. All I am saying is, can we try to maybe have an open mind when it comes to this? Especially knowing how important it is for finn to have sheila be a part of his life?

Ridge: Yeah. Well, that’s not gonna happen.

Hope: Why not? Look, I’ve– I’ve been spending a lot of time with finn, and I’m starting to understand his– his side of things. I mean, if sheila really has changed, if she is the type of person who would risk her life to protect the people that she cares about, why wouldn’t finn want to pursue a relationship with her? And by the way, that is exactly what finn wants. He is determined to have sheila in his life.

Steffy: A hero? You’re calling sheila carter a hero? That woman tried to kill us, finn.

Finn: Well, the– the woman who tried to save your life. When sugar told her what she was gonna do, she–

Steffy: Oh, my god, I don’t– I don’t care about sugar! I don’t care about her. She means nothing to me. We’re talking about sheila. Sheila. I’ve told you this so many times, finn. How she has terrorized my family. Look, what are you thinking? For generations. How do you not understand that?

Finn: No, I do. I do.

Steffy: Oh, my god.

Finn: I know the woman that she was.

Steffy: No, it’s generations. Generations, finn. That vile woman is a lunatic. She tried to kill me. And my mother. And my grandmother. I– I lost time with my mother. I lost time with you. God, she’s kidnapped people. She has killed people. She has poisoned people. And you just expect me to just move past that because of what? Some feeble attempt to get her stupid psychopath friend to– to try to kill me? No! No! She is not a hero. And I never want to hear you say that again. This skinny pop is so delicious. Sheila: Ah, this feels so good.

Deacon: You missed me, huh?

Sheila: Yeah. Here and– and there. Actually, I thought about you every single moment. Just hoping that I would get back to this, to you.

Deacon: Yep.

Sheila: I didn’t– I didn’t think that I’d be here again. But here I am, wearing this amazing, you know, imaginary diamond ring.

Deacon: I promise, I promise, I’m gonna do right by you, okay?

Sheila: Wow.

Deacon: Listen, no more secrets. No more pretending. I want the entire world to know how in love I am with you.

Ridge: Finn wants sheila in his life. In steffy’s life. My grandkid’s lives.

Liam: No, no, that’s– that’s not happening.

Ridge: Absolutely not. Steffy’s not gonna let it.

Liam: You’re right, she’s not gonna– just think about– think about everything that she’s had to endure. Being married to this man, all because of this– this primal tie he feels he has to his psychopath birth mother. And now he wants to extend an open invitation for sheila to be in their lives? Well, finn doesn’t get steffy then. Because mark my words, she’s gonna draw a line in the sand with finn once and for all.

Steffy: Do you hear me, finn? Sheila carter is a vile human being. She is not a hero. How could you even call her that? After everything she’s done to you. She left you in an alley to die. Me too.

Finn: I know her past sins, I do. But she has been working on reforming herself. Because she offered her life to protect you and the kids from sugar. That is a fact, steffy.

Steffy: Do not challenge me on facts about sheila. You will lose every time.

Finn: Yeah, but how about the fact that she’s not dead? And the fact that my wife didn’t kill my birth mother. That matters to me. Look, I’m your husband. You’re the most important thing to me in this world. You and the kids. But my mother…

Steffy: Oh, please don’t call her that.

Finn: My– my birth mother… she was such a mystery to me. I didn’t know her for basically most of my life until recently. And I– I thought I lost my chance with her. But now I have a second one. I’m sorry, I just– I just wanna help her. And almost losing sheila, that made me realize that I don’t wanna turn my back on her.

Steffy: But you have to, finn. I love you. God, I love you. You are such a good person. But your biological mother, she is evil. And you’re really naive to think that she’s gonna change. That she won’t bring devastation to our lives. She’s not gonna be in our lives, finn. She’s not gonna be anywhere near kelly or hayes. So, um… you can’t have both. It’s either her… or me.

Finn: I hear you. Of course, it’s you. Sweetheart, it’ll always be you.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

That ball bounced off that guy’s head like nothing I’ve ever seen. You got quite an arm. Lethal. Okay, well, it was my first time playing doubles. But, let’s talk about the previous game. Where I totally wiped the floor with you, thank you very much. That’s because I told you my, my, my shoes are the wrong size. My, my, my toes were cramped.

It’s, it’s, it wasn’t even matched. I’m sure that’s what Djokovic says too. It probably is. Yeah. That shoesie’s crumbed my little toe. I like your joke about some fresh stuff. Ooh. Oh my god, speaking of cramps. What? My leg. Oh. I’m not used to running that fast. Oh my gosh. Here, here, here, here. Let me sort it out for you.

Oh, no, no, no, no, wait a sec. Come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on. I’m very gifted. Okay, fine. Come on. Here. That does feel good. Is that, Is that easing up? Mm hmm, it is. And, um, I’m, uh, glad that we did this. Playing pickleball, no work talk. Glad you suggested it. Stick with me, kid.

Well, black book. The one Harris gave us. Thanks. The results came from the crime lab. And? Blood on the cover. They’re processing it further now. Oh my god, our first potential break. That it is. Yeah. Weston needs that book. He needs it to keep cash coming in while he’s on the lam. Unfortunately, I weren’t able to crack the code.

It’s a, it’s a cipher the department’s not used to seeing. Damn. Yeah. Okay, let’s hope that Harris has better luck with his Navy intelligence buddies. Mm hmm. How long have we been friends now? A long time. It’s been a while, yeah? Yeah. I often think back when we were at the convent in Italy. Sharing a room, making mischief.

Oh, do you remember those beds? Oh my god, it was like sleeping on porcupine quills.

Why’d you invite me over here, Kristen? Oh, I just, I thought that we could catch up. Ever. Remember when, chat? Yeah, I’m not buying it. Why don’t you tell me what you really want?

It was the look in Holly’s eyes, Eric, when she told me she hated me. She doesn’t hate you, you know that. She’s just angry, that’s all. I’m just trying to protect her. You know, the thought of her going to that prom and partying until wee hours of the night, it just triggers me into remembering that she I get it.

She almost died. I get it. And I understand why you didn’t want her to go. Well, I wish she understood. She will. Just Just give her some time to cool off. I’m sorry you had a difficult Mother’s Day.

Yeah, I knew it would be. I just, I didn’t think it would end quite like this. My daughter hating me.

Get some rest, my precious little boy. And when you wake, we’ll do tummy time, okay?

Well, this is how it’s always going to be. Daddy working with Nicole. You and me alone. Or is it all going to come crashing down?

Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives.

I’m gonna call the lab. Give them a nudge. You know what they say about a washed pot?

Hmm, you’re right. They’ll call when they have something. They will. Soon. Okay. And speaking for myself, I mean, after going through all of these, I am even more motivated to bring Clyde Weston and Goldman to justice. And what are these? Cold cases. Just boxes and files, just covered in dust. You know, some of these go back decades.

You know, and one day when you and I are gone from the force, I don’t want Clyde Weston to be found as a cold case by some rookie cop wondering why we dropped the ball. So you got them, the

DNA results. I don’t need to ask what they were. I know what the results are. It’s exactly what I told you they’d be. You weren’t lying. Not this time anyway. Nicole is that boy’s mother and Eric his father. Now the question is, now that you know the truth, what are you going to do about it? Who

is this guy? You were supposed to be here 20 minutes ago. Oh, I don’t know. Maybe we should try again later? Try again later, he doesn’t even have a phone. Oh, all right, well then maybe we should go back to

Maybe that’s him. Sir, you okay down there? I mean, is he Yeah, yeah, yeah, he’s, yeah, he’s breathing. Hey. Hey. Ah, he reeks of booze. Maybe he’s sleeping off a bender. Sir? Sir?

What I really want? Do I always have to have an ulterior motive? Well, come on. Kristen, it’s a little suspicious you inviting me over here out of the blue for some carrot sticks and hummus.

Okay. Okay, you’re right. You’re right, Eve. I need your help. What kind of help? I need, Ava, I need some information. Information about what? The murder of Leshaun. Do you often peruse cold cases? Like, uh, Javi? Well, it’s slow, I do. Slow? Yeah. Is it ever slow? There are some quiet moments. And personally, I hate when a case can’t be cracked.

I mean, just, just knowing how hard it is on the families of the victims. You know, not having any answers, closure. That could really eat away at you for years.

What’s eating away at you now? Bobby.

Mmm, so I think the veggie burger is new on the menu, and also the shepherd’s pie. You know what? I’m feeling, uh, I’m feeling like I’m gonna go classic. I’m gonna go with, uh, with a hot dog. You’re gonna, you’re gonna order the hot dog? Is there something funny about that, that I’m missing? Oh, it just, it just reminds me of our first first date.

Back in Seattle, remember? It was raining. We were taking a little stroll. We were sharing that broken umbrella. And then you saw that vendor outside. With the, with the hot dogs floating around in the greasy water. Oh, oh my god. And you ordered two. That was so disgusting. I remember that. I was sick for so long.

It was like three days of me watching old reruns of the World Series games and barfing literally every 15 minutes. Yeah. Wow. Yeah, that’s exactly what you did. Yeah. On that note, I think I’m going to go with veggie burger. Wait, you know what? I think I’m gonna get the hot dog. With ketchup. With ketchup?

What do you mean with ketchup? What do you mean? What do I mean? I mean that it is practically illegal in Chicago and surrounding areas to get ketchup on your hot dog. Fine. Fine? I will risk being arrested then. Wow. Wow. True rebel, huh? You know how badly I wanted to kiss you on the first date in Seattle. I was kicking myself when it ended.

I just, I thought it was too soon.

Honestly, I don’t know what I’m going to do. I don’t even know if it’s Even quite sunk in yet. Though, I am fascinated, Sloan. How did you pull this off? I mean, it’s no easy task. Taking a mother’s newborn baby. Faking said baby’s death so you could pass it off as your own adopted child.

I assumed. You had help in this rather ambitious endeavor. No, it was all me. All you? Wow, quite an accomplishment.

Not to excuse what I did or anything, but I was devastated after I had my miscarriage. Eric and I, we wanted to adopt, but, you know, there were complications. Because of my past.

And that’s when by chance or providence, Dimitri von Leuschner showed up at my door. Holding that beautiful little baby that Nicole had just given birth to on the side of the road. He was supposed to take him to the hospital. But he was a fugitive, so

He brought him to me, knowing I was Leia’s lawyer. So he handed me that sweet little angel. To watch over, to bring to the hospital myself. And when I saw that precious little innocent face, I, in that moment, I felt like all the planets had aligned, like I had been given a sign. I had a second chance. I was meant to be a mother, to help Eric raise his child.

So, how did you? Processed the baby through adoption.

I faked the paperwork, took care of everything myself. I’m a lawyer, remember? I know the ins and outs of the system. It’s weak points. And how did Leo find out? Your nephew is a loose cannon. That is how Leo found out. After Dimitri blackmailed me into getting Leo’s charges dropped, he told his devoted boyfriend all about it.

Right before he was sent off to super max

So Dimitri thought That that baby was mine And yet he still chose his weasel lover over family. What a backstabbing son of a Can we not talk about him right now? Can you just what is your plan for Leo?

I don’t get it. We were talking about cold cases and then A cold case that’s eating away at me. It’s Bobby, or more accurately, related to Bobby. How so? Well, when I met him in Seattle, he had asked me if I could help find some information on his mom, since I was a police officer. What happened to his mom? I don’t know.

All I know is that she left when he was a little boy. Hmm. Yeah, um, his father said that she just left the house one day and she never came back. Yeah, it was traumatic for him. I mean, there’d be, there’d be days where we would just be together and we’d be talking and he would just start looking off. And I knew that he was thinking of her.

It haunted him. Even years later. Kristen, other than the fact that Lee was killed in the apartment that I shared with his sister and my son, I know nothing about what happened or who else might have been involved. Hmm. Are you sure about that? It’s just, it’s curious. There were two murders, Lee’s and Gil’s, in the same apartment within days of each other.

Yeah. It’s a coincidence. The police looked into it. They found nothing. Hmm. Well, maybe the police didn’t have enough information. What do you mean? Ava, is there by chance anything you didn’t tell the police? Something you know useful.

Oh, don’t you worry. I’m going to take care of Mr. Stark. Good. When you say you are gonna take care of him, you don’t mean like you’re gonna hurt him, please. No, no, no, no, no, no. We’re just going to take a lovely drive into the desert where I’m going to dig a hole about. Six feet deep.

I jest. Leo will be fine. EJ, remember what I said. The only way our marriages can survive is for the secret to stay a secret. You already know what is gonna happen if Nicole and Eric find out. They are going to leave us like that. Don’t mind. But my wife is mourning the loss of a child she thinks is dead, who is alive and well, and being mothered by an amoral kidnapper.

Fine. Take, take low blow shots at me. I deserve it. But the truth is, is that Nicole is going through the stage of the grieving process right now called acceptance. Why mess with that? Why open a wound? Why open? Are you kidding me? This would be the happiest news she has received in her entire life. She would be ecstatic over the moon.

What kind of amoral bastard would I be to keep the news from her? That her baby boy is not dead after all. Well, if you don’t keep the news from her, then she and Eric will go and live happily ever after. So, in simpler terms, EJ, if you suddenly gain a conscience, then your wife will dump you and never look back.

Get it? So, what’s best for everybody, if this just Remains our little secret. You go live happily with Nicole. I raise my son with Eric. Everybody wins.

Hot mess. Zaddy? Are you putting me to bed again? It’s like deja vu. Putting him to bed again? I found him drunk the other night and helped him get back to bed. For that, I am so, so thankful. Yeah. So much so that I woke up the next day, I took the bull by the horns, and I got Oh, an application to become a licensed dental hygienist.

I’m just kidding. I started drinking again because Hair of the frog. No, that’s not right. Hair of the dog. No. Hair of the dog. Leo, what is going on? Why are you doing this to yourself?

You mean why am I circling the drain? Well, Nicole, it’s because the love of my life sent me a Dear John letter and has rendered my very tender heart broken beyond repair. Oh, Leo, your heart will repair itself eventually, and one day you are going to meet someone new. Someone who’s right for you and things will get better, I promise.

Did things get better for the two of you? It did. It did. Yes, it did. And now we’re both happily married and feeling fulfilled in our lives, right?

Sure, Jan. Whatever you two lovebirds say. I

love Nicole. She’s a wonderful and caring person. She deserves to know. But I don’t want to lose her. Perhaps as a compromise.

A compromise? I can take the baby and tell Nicole that’s her son. And mine. At least that way she’ll be raising her child. Oh, EJ, do you really want to be raising Eric’s son? That boy is going to grow up, he’s going to look like Eric. Sound like Eric. No, you’re right, I don’t want that. Of course you don’t, EJ.

Please let sleeping dogs lie. It’s just the most sane solution that we have here. It’s best for you, for me, for little Tude. It’s the best solution we have. Is it the best and most sane solution for Nicole and Jude?

I will say this one more time and I really hope that it registers with you. If the truth ever gets out to Eric and Nicole, there is nothing, nothing stopping them from being together. Ah. EJ.

That’s my little boy, Nero. I’ve raised him since he was born.

I love him with all my heart.

Please don’t uproot him from the only family he’s ever known.

It’s like, every time, every time, I try to do the right thing, it ends up being the wrong thing. So maybe if I try to do the wrong thing, it would be the right thing. Wait, what do you mean? I mean, Look, my heart is in the right place, I swear. Like, um, For instance, some years ago, I went on a date with this guy who looked nothing like his pictures.

In other words, I was being catfished. So, I excused myself to go to the bathroom. And when I was in the toilet stall, I snuck out the window. Which was the right thing for both of us. But the next day, he sends me a bunch of Expletive laden texts. See what I mean? No, I don’t. I, I just want to help you. You want, you want to help me?

How do you want to help? I want you to be happy. Happier. But I don’t want to hurt you. You’re such a good man. Leo, what, what are you talking about? What, what do you mean you don’t want to, what? But I mean, I don’t want to hurt you. Did EJ not tell you? What are you talking about? No, what? Oh, goodness. Oh, boy.

Oh. Oh, it’s like there’s two of you. Oh, jeez. Oh, did you say something? No, you said something. Who said something? You said What? Leo? What? Hey, Leo, what? Leo. Hey, what was EJ supposed to tell me? Leo. Oh my gosh, damn it. What the hell is he talking about? I don’t know. He probably did the same thing to me yesterday.

He tried to say something about Jude and then he fell asleep. What is going on? Why don’t we leave and let him sleep it off? Yeah.

Ava, please, whatever you tell me, I will keep your name out of it.

Gil came to the apartment with something bistro related. He tried to sexually assault me. I shot him in self-defense. He died in the end. Okay, so. After Gil was out of the picture, Stefan bought the bistro and Clyde used Gabby for leverage to force Stefan to continue to do Gil’s handiwork. Right? I guess.

You guess. Yeah. Listen, Kristen, your brother told the police already that he was working alone with Clyde. We weren’t close. We’re barely acquaintances, so why is he gonna lie to cover for me? Well, that is an intriguing question, isn’t it? I do not like what you are implying, Kristen. You’re implying that I was one of Clyde’s minions.

Hey, hold on, hold on. I’m not implying anything, Ava. You and I are old friends. I’m just trying to help my brother out. Not to mention, you and I are on the same page, are we not?

Well, that’s the most I’ve ever heard you talk about Bobby. At least in an empathetic way. Yeah, well, I guess I have hinted to you a lot about how much I detest what he did to me. Sorry if that got crazy annoying. No, stop. Come on. I’m always here to listen and have your back. Seriously, uh, you two, you and Bobby, you must have had some good times.

You did end up marrying the guy. Yeah, I did. Because when I met him, you know, he was, he was kind and intelligent and incredibly witty. But then I discovered that he just, he wasn’t the man that I thought he was. Yeah. Yeah, I get that. I am just happy that he finally signed the divorce papers and I can move on with my life.

And be with the most wonderful man who I love with all my heart.

Wait a second, you didn’t like that movie? What didn’t you like about it? It was boring. Way too long. Way too long. Come on. Why didn’t you say that at the time? Because you liked it. I didn’t, I didn’t want to insult your, your taste in cinema that early. Wow Wow, too long. It was two hours. Yeah, but it didn’t feel like two hours.

It felt Endless like it like it like it would never end Wow Yeah, yeah come and clean yeah You know, I I never actually thanked you for teaching me how to play that card game. From all those years ago, the one that I was playing here with Thomas and Chad the other night. Oh, yeah. They loved it. Wow. You still have your deck?

Oh, you bet I do. You, uh, interested in a match? Well, I might be a little rusty, but, uh I think I can take you. Really? Because I trounced you the last time. Yeah, but I sort of feel like I’m more prepared this time.

So many memories. I remember everything with you, Steph. Every single moment.

Bobby? Hey!

Who is that?

Everett? Did you hear me? Sorry, what? Do you know her? Who? The woman who just called you Bobby and waved. Oh, that. No, I have no idea who that is. Maybe, I don’t know, somebody back from Seattle or a friend of a friend? Small world, I guess. Yeah, small world.

Is this coffee third wave? Or that slop they serve down at Sweet Pit? It doesn’t matter if you’re a train wreck. Just drink it. It’ll make you feel better.

It’s not bad. Could use a little Irish cream. Oh. EJ, why are you here? You don’t remember letting me in. My God, how many sheets to the wind are you? What happened to Nicole and Eric? Nicole and Eric? They were here with you? Yeah, they were. They were. I remember because privately I wanted Nicole to leave. So that salt and pepper daddy That’s Not right now, Leo.

Okay, you need to tell me why they were visiting you. Why were they visiting me? Yes.

Oh, that’s right. I passed out at the park. I think they brought me back here. But I remember wanting to tell them something. The truth. I wanted to tell them the truth about you. And did you? No, I don’t think we got to that. Thank God. Why are we thanking God? Listen to me, Leo. You don’t have to know why. But I’m telling you, that you are never to tell Eric nor Nicole the truth about Jude, ever.

Do I make myself clear? Why shouldn’t they know? The baby is Eric and Sloan’s. Period. But biologically, he’s

In exchange for a lifetime of your discretion, you know. I’m willing to transfer a very generous amount of money to a bank account of your choosing. Wow. That’s like accidentally drowning after falling off your own yacht kind of money. Mmm. This is what you wanted when you came to my house yesterday, isn’t it?

It could all be yours. But only if you promise not to ask any more questions or utter another syllable about Jude, ever, to anyone.

Alright, I’m sorry. I took your question the wrong way. I’m just a little touchy about Clyde and Gil. Okay, I understand. Alright. And listen, if Gabby really didn’t Kill Lee. She didn’t. Even if she didn’t, and if I could help you find out who really killed Lee, I would. All right. I Lee never caused me any trouble and I happen to think the world of his sister, but honestly, there’s nothing that I can do to help.

Sorry.

Oh, what about this one? 1992, body of a woman, in her early forties, found in the woods, wearing an Argyle sweater. Never identified. No family, no friends, and no colleagues came forward. The news referred to her as, Argyle Sweater Woman. Let me see that. You know.

Commissioner Hernandez. Oh, the results are in. Alright, that’s great. What do you got?

Wait, are you sure?

Okay. Alright, that’s great. Thanks. What? The lab analysis from the black book. The techs were able to get a partial print off of it. Oh my god, whose was it? Clive’s guy. And the blood? Whose, whose DNA was it? Yeah, the blood, it was, uh, it was Lee Shin’s.

Poor Leo. I totally understand what he’s going through. Losing someone you love and wanting to ease the pain and, um, I know you understand that too, so. I do. Thank God that’s behind us. Yeah, thank God. You know what? Yeah. You are such a good friend. And being with you really lifts my spirits. I gotcha. Coffee toast.

Oh, I have two options here. I can be extraordinarily wealthy, someone who uses the word summer as a verb, who yells at his personal assistant, but then very quickly apologizes. Someone who pretends to like skiing. Oh, with the outfits and all the equipment, sitting in some lodge, having a hot chocolate, it’s such a to do.

Or I could be a person of integrity, someone who tells the truth. What will it be then, Leo?

Oh,

transfer complete. Wise decision.

I hope so. But just remember, if you keep this promise, you will have a wonderful carefree life. All the jet setting, decadence your little heart could desire. But if you break that promise, I will make sure that you don’t have a life. Do we understand each other? We do. I mean, I do understand. Perfect. Good.

Excellent.

Right? It’s truly unbelievable. Alright, Harris. Yeah, we’ll talk soon. What’d he say? Oh, not much. He was busy picking his jaw up off the floor. So you think this means that That my sister didn’t kill Li Xin? I do. It was Gil. It had to be. So how do we prove it? That’s the burning question. Well, don’t you want to at least talk to her?

Why would I? To find out if she knew you from Seattle. Maybe she could Help fill in some blanks for you. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, maybe I will. But, you know, first order of business, I, um, I know that this isn’t a date. It was just, uh, two friends hanging out. But I’m having a really good time. And I was thinking, would you go to dinner?

Um, sure. Great, because I recently discovered this little hole in the wall sushi place in Chicago. You know I love sushi. They have this omakase dish. Um, you know omakase where the chef picks the fish for you? It is next level. Really, really next level. You would love it. Sounds great. Uh, oh, look at the time.

I’ve got to head out and get back to work. Yeah, um, I’ll text you. Yeah, sounds good. See you soon. Yeah, see you soon.

Hi. Again. Right? Hey, Bobby. Um, Sorry to ask you this, but How do we, how do we know each other? When did we, when did we meet? When did we, Two nights ago, right here. Right. Right. Of course. We had a drink, yeah. Of course. Of course we had a drink. And I obviously, I told you my name was Bobby. Yeah. Obviously.

Obviously. Yeah. I think I’m gonna have a lunch somewhere else. Later. Later. Yeah.

Yeah, okay. Okay then. Talk soon. Yeah, I miss you too.

Is everything okay with Harris? Uh, yeah, everything’s fine. It’s just, uh, quite a coincidence that, uh What? Oh, come on, finish your sentence.

Now, it’s just interesting that, um, you invited me over here to talk about Lee and Gil. Mm hmm. And? Listen, you can’t tell anybody about this, okay? Oh. All right, my lips are sealed. All right. Harris just got off of the phone with Rafe regarding some evidence they found at the bistro.

And what the lab found was, um, it was unexpected.

How was it unexpected?

And it proved you’re right about Gabby not being the one who killed Lee.

Good God. But you know who did? Yeah. I do.

I know who did.

Hey, there you are. Oh, hi. I was looking all over for you. I was hoping maybe we could have lunch or something together. Uh, maybe another time. Sorry, it’s just been a really busy morning. Hey, uh, is everything okay? Yeah. Yeah, no, I just, I have a lot of homework and stuff to catch up on, so I’m kind of stressed.

Yeah, yeah, I get it. Same. It just, it seems like maybe there’s something else going on, or

Fine. Tate, I’ve been really embarrassed you saw that huge fight between my mom and I earlier. Embarrassed? Why would you be embarrassed? No, I, I just, I hated seeing you so upset and not being able to do anything about it. Have you had any luck changing your mind? No. My controlling mother has decided I most likely am going to do drugs and die if I’m not careful.

Transcript provided by Suzanne

[ Knocking on door ]

Sally: Hi. I brought coffee and muffins. I figured you’d be exhausted from your trip.

Adam: That is very sweet of you.

Sally: Come here.

Billy: Lily? Hey.

[ Billy sighs ] Hey, lily, it’s billy. Uh, can we meet? I need to talk to you about something very important. Asap. Thanks.

Chelsea: Hey.

Billy: Hi. I thought you were going straight to the office.

Chelsea: Uh, yeah, I was going to, but I just– I need to talk to you, if you have time.

Billy: Yeah, of course. How’s connor?

Chelsea: Things are so much worse for connor than we thought.

[ Chelsea sobs ]

Nate: I haven’t seen aunt mamie that upset in a while, if ever.

Devon: I think she’ll cool down.

Nate: I’m not so sure about that.

Devon: What were we supposed to do? Just let her keep causing issues?

Nate: It had to be said, but by all of us at once? I see how she felt ganged up on.

Lily: I mean, she did seem surprised we weren’t willing to push out jill and billy.

[ Phone pings ]

Devon: Well, I mean, she brought it all onto herself.

Lily: Like, what’s the fallout gonna be? Is she gonna cause more trouble?

Nate: I’m gonna go with yes. She obviously felt betrayed and made it clear she wasn’t gonna take it.

Devon: I think the easiest solution would be to buy her out.

Nate: You heard her. She has no intention of letting go of her investment.

Devon: That’s right. Well, I thought we had to fend off tucker, but it’s the internal threats within chancellor-winters that we have to worry about.

Phyllis: Well, looky here. Shouldn’t you be working on your super important case?

Christine: Ah, shouldn’t you be minding your own business?

Phyllis: I guess you’re drowning yourself in coffee and muffins because danny’s about to hit the road.

Christine: You don’t have to worry about me. I’m getting plenty of cardio these days.

Phyllis: Hm. Slacking off, I see. You know, if I were your client, I’d be mad. I would think I wasn’t getting my money’s worth.

Christine: Well, you couldn’t afford me and…

[ Christine laughs ] …I would never defend you. So, actually, I’m doing exactly what I should be at the moment.

Phyllis: Oh, my goodness, so I guess your important case wasn’t really that important after all.

Christine: You’re right about that.

Phyllis: You didn’t really want danny, did you? You just wanted to make sure I didn’t get him.

()

Announcer: Additional sponsorship provided by…

Christine: As usual, you’re shooting off your mouth without knowing a damn thing.

Phyllis: Oh, I know plenty. I know how to read you. You’re like an open book regarding danny and me.

Christine: Here he is, right on cue.

Danny: Hey.

Christine: Hi.

Danny: Hi. Phyllis, good to see you.

Phyllis: Good to see you, danny. I was afraid I wouldn’t get to say goodbye before you hit the road.

Danny: Yeah, finally hitting the road today.

[ Phyllis laughs ] In fact, I just said my goodbyes to daniel and lucy.

Phyllis: Oh, great, great. Well, I will let you guys say your goodbyes. You know, I bet it’s gonna be exciting going in front of all your adoring fans and washing the stink off of an old flame. Somebody who chose work over romance.

Danny: You didn’t tell her?

Christine: No, she was too busy reading me like an open book.

Phyllis: Tell me what?

Christine: Uh, a little plot twist. I turned down the case. I’m going with danny after all.

Nate: I don’t see aunt mamie as a threat to this company. Mad as she is, she wouldn’t do anything to hurt it. She’s as invested as we are, emotionally and financially. Her whole agenda has been to unite us.

Lily: [ Laughs ] Well, we were united, just not in the way that she hoped.

Nate: Look, aunt mamie doesn’t have the power to cause any corporate instability, even if she wanted to.

Lily: I mean, I feel bad upsetting her, but I think that, you know, we were right telling her to back down.

Nate: She came back to town guns blazing. Not just ready for a fight, but trying to pick one.

Devon: And?

Nate: And even though she’s on our side, she never really tried to work with you two. And I’ve tried to tell her that, over and over.

Devon: Yeah, she just came into town trying to call all the shots without ever getting our buy-in.

Lily: I think we were right to tell her that we all feel like she’s overstepped.

Devon: There is one thing that she said that I agree with, and that’s that we need to figure out how to get billy out of the company.

Sally: Talk to me. What happened?

Adam: The doctors at the residence are still trying to find the right medications for connor.

Sally: He has to be on more than one?

Adam: I don’t know. They’re– they’re not sure. You know, it’s trial and error. As they explained it, uh, they have to see how he responds. There could be side effects. You know, sometimes they augment drugs that they think could be helping, and then they have to take family history into account.

Sally: Sounds really scary. For connor and for you and chelsea.

Adam: Yeah, and it could be months before they know if it’s working. In the meantime, the drugs that he’s on are messing with his sleep. You know, there’s just so much at play, there’s so much that we didn’t understand. We were right there. We were so close. And we didn’t even get to see connor at all.

Chelsea: The doctor said connor is tired and groggy because of his new medication. It’s affecting his therapy sessions. He can’t concentrate.

Billy: It’s slowing down his progress.

Chelsea: His ocd is raging, billy. He’s not getting better. He’s getting worse.

Billy: Okay. Is that why they said that it’s not a good idea to see him?

Chelsea: They’re trying to understand the psychology of what’s causing these intrusive thoughts and then hoping that the medication will reduce them.

Billy: Yeah, I’m sure that’s a delicate balance.

Chelsea: Everybody keeps saying that. But if he’s this upset– we can’t even be in the same room with him. We can’t hug him, tell him that we love him. I mean, where is the stability they’re talking about?

Billy: It’s– it’s gonna come, okay? It’s gonna come. It didn’t get this bad overnight. It’s gonna take some time to– to work it out.

Chelsea: We are part of the problem. Adam and me. To know my son is in this much pain… that he would be worse if we’re with him?

Adam: The main reason why they couldn’t take the risk is because… connor started punishing himself.

Sally: Blaming himself for the thoughts?

Adam: Physically. He started punching his legs.

Chelsea: They said he has bruises… on his thighs.

[ Chelsea crying ]

Billy: Chelsea. I’m so sorry.

Chelsea: He’s in so much pain. So much pain. I mean, when is it gonna end? Is my son gonna be suffering every day for the rest of his life? Depression is a journey.

Lily: Look, I’m sorry, but I don’t think that ousting billy is the right move.

Devon: I bet you don’T. Why are you so loyal to that guy?

Lily: It’s not loyalty. But if we go after billy, jill’s gonna feel like we’re coming after her. And that’s gonna start a war.

Devon: So you really think that he’s more dangerous to us outside the company than inside?

Lily: Why do you always look at him like a threat in all the ways that he can hurt us? I mean, think about how he can help us. I know that you hate admitting this, but he actually has some good ideas.

Devon: Yeah, like putting his name on the side of the building. That was an awesome idea. How do you not see that the guy is just after more control and more power in the company?

Lily: Okay, you know, I don’t wanna talk about this right now. Billy actually texted me and said it’s urgent, so I have to go find him.

Nate: Just the two of you? No devon? What’s that about?

Devon: Yeah.

Lily: I don’t know, nate. I’ll find out when I go talk to him.

Devon: Huh. Well, that sounds like divide and conquer to me. I’m sure whatever it is, it’s not good.

Adam: I feel so powerless.

Sally: I get it. And maybe you can’t cure him, but you and chelsea are doing everything you can. He’s in a great place with leading experts on this. They will be able to help him. You have to trust that.

Chelsea: The doctors say if he continues like this… hurting himself, they’ll have to send him to this thing called “inpatient.”

Billy: But he’s in a residential facility already.

Chelsea: Well, they isolate him for weeks so they can watch him more closely. It’s– it’s what they do in cases of– of self-harm.

[ Billy sighs ]

Billy: Okay, look, well, um, it sounds like they’re on top of it. Okay, and– and I can only imagine how difficult it is for you, but there’s a treatment plan, so hopefully the medication kicks in and hopefully he stops hurting himself.

Chelsea: What if he doesn’t, billy?

Billy: I–

Chelsea: And they send him to this inpatient facility. His ocd doctor isn’t allowed to treat him there. So, he will be more alone and he will be more terrified. How does that help?

Adam: All of the advances that he has made so far… could backslide.

Sally: Hey, your job as his dad right now is not to jump to worst-case scenarios. Just try and remain positive.

[ Adam laughs ]

Adam: How can I do that? The doctors are already prepping us for this.

Sally: Does connor know what could happen?

Adam: No. No, not yet. But I already know if it comes to this, it’s just gonna make him feel even worse. I just– I know it. He already feels embarrassed and ashamed. They say he’s always trying to cover ’em up. He doesn’t want anyone to know what he’s doing to himself.

Sally: My heart breaks for him.

Adam: Yeah, and he told the therapist that he feels guilty that we have to pay for him to be there. As if that should even be a concern at all. He’s just– he’s terrified that he’s not gonna be able to fix what’s wrong with him. That’s how he puts this. As if he’s broken.

Billy: The doctors given you any sign of hope?

Chelsea: Just that they’re starting to get into the– the main manifestation of connor’s trauma.

Billy: Which is?

Chelsea: Basically that he has no self-worth. That he– he thinks he’s a burden on everybody else. I mean, how can he think that?

Billy: That’s the ocd talking. That’s not connor.

Chelsea: No, that is connor. Those are connor’s thoughts. Deep down. Haunting him.

Lily: Hey, I got your text. Oh, sorry, am I interrupting?

Chelsea: I’m sorry, I interrupted billy’s work day.

Billy: No, no, there’s no need to apologize. We can go somewhere else and keep talking.

Chelsea: Uh, that’s okay, I– I need to get to marchetti to approve some designs. Sorry.

Lily: Um, billy, uh, told me that you went to see connor, and I hope his treatment’s going well. I’ve– I’ve been thinking about him.

Chelsea: I appreciate that.

Lily: Yeah.

Billy: You sure you don’t wanna go get a coffee, anything?

Chelsea: No, I’ll be okay.

Billy: Sure.

Chelsea: I’ll see you later.

Lily: Are you sure you don’t wanna go with her? ‘Cause I’m sure what she’s feeling is more important than what you wanted to talk about.

Billy: Um, actually I think work would be a good distraction for her. And what I need to tell you can’t wait.

Phyllis: You’re going on tour with him.

Christine: It’s like you said, sometimes you have to put aside work for the people you love.

Phyllis: No, you didn’t put aside any work. The clients dumped you.

Danny: Uh, phyllis, I, uh, I would really love to go on tour, you know, on a good note. Right? You’ve come a long way. And I– I’ve seen the change. I’ve witnessed it.

Phyllis: I know you have. You see me, danny.

Danny: Yeah, and I’d like to go on tour with that phyllis in mind.

Phyllis: Is this for real?

Danny: It’s real. We’ve had more than one long talk about our lives, our dreams, our futures.

Christine: Our passions.

Danny: Yeah.

Christine: All night long, into the morning.

Danny: Some of the best and most important discussions of my life.

Christine: But our night was about so much more than just talking.

Sally: I wish I could take your pain away. And connor’S.

Adam: So do I. But I’m finally starting to get there is no easy fix. And the doctors keep saying it’s a long process. He’s gonna have to manage this for the rest of his life, and I just– I hate that. But the sooner that I can accept it, the more I can be there for him.

Sally: Sounds incredibly wise.

[ Knocking on door ]

Chelsea: Hey, sorry, I should’ve called, but I was on my way to work, and I– I just– I don’t know, I couldn’t face it. Oh. Hi, sally. You know what? I’ll just call you later.

Adam: No, you know what? Just stay.

Sally: I was just leaving.

Adam: It’s okay.

Sally: I’m so sorry for what connor’s going through.

Chelsea: Me too.

Sally: You two are doing amazing. I know it doesn’t feel like it, but you really are navigating this whole thing with a lot of courage. I know you’ll get connor through this. I will check in after my meeting.

Adam: All right.

Sally: Okay.

Adam: Sounds good.

[ Chelsea sighing ]

Chelsea: I’m a mess. Anyone says anything nice to me lately, I just– I just burst into tears.

Adam: Yeah, I get the feeling.

Chelsea: I’m sorry. I’m sorry to just, like, bust– bust in here like that.

Adam: Look, I– I– I’m glad that you came.

Chelsea: What sally said, I don’t feel brave. I feel just the opposite. You know, billy tried to give me a similar pep talk earlier.

[ Adam scoffs ]

Adam: It’s excruciating.

Chelsea: Yeah. Yeah, it is. It just makes it worse because it’s obvious I’m falling apart when I should be keeping it together.

Adam: I know. We’re supposed to be seeing the big picture and staying positive for connor’s sake and believe he’s in the right place.

Chelsea: When really, I justwanna ream or crawl into bed and just cry.

Adam: Yeah, and I hate that I keep dumping it all on her. And I resent the words of encouragement because in my head it’s all lies, but that’s on me. That’s not on her.

Chelsea: I do nothing except cry to billy lately. I’m sure he’s run out of things to say to me. I mean, when does it get to be too much?

Adam: And I know that this is killing her. Not knowing how to help. The truth is we are the only ones who know exactly what we are going through. We have to talk to each other.

Chelsea: But we didn’T. We didn’t talk to each other the entire way back from maryland. You were silent. So, I’m– I’m here because I wanna ask. Do you blame me for all this?

Devon: I do not like this one bit, man. I wanna know what the hell billy’s up to.

Nate: Asking to see lily alone, it does back up your suspicion he’s trying to work her in some way.

Devon: Yeah. Maybe he heard about what happened with mamie, and he’s trying to figure out how to work that situation to his advantage.

Nate: How would he be able to do that? He hasn’t exactly been on aunt mamie’s side. He even told her that he agreed with jill, that they see her as trouble. And aunt mamie wouldn’t buy it if he suddenly tried to align himself with her.

Devon: Maybe not. I don’t know, I just wouldn’t put it past the guy to work any situation to his advantage. That’s what he does.

Nate: Maybe part of what aunt mamie’s saying was right. That there’s a level of paranoia that’s starting to infiltrate our thinking. And it’s doing more damage to us than billy can.

Lily: Is this personal or about work?

Billy: Work, mostly. But, you know, maybe a little bit personal. But everything is around here.

Lily: Yeah, family business comes with the territory.

Billy: Yeah. Didn’t mean to make light of it, because it is serious. Um, look, I wanted to tell you this first before I break the news to everyone else because I feel like I owe this to you.

Lily: Why do I feel like I’m not gonna like this?

Billy: Well, I hope you do. Because we’re gonna have to live with it. Jill made a very major decision. She has decided to step away. And she’s handing all of her decision-making power to me. I told myself I was ok

Announcer: The young and the restless will continue.

Billy: Well, I know you heard me, so you should probably say something.

Lily: I’m– I’m shocked. I mean, I– I didn’t know that jill was even thinking about something like this.

Billy: Neither did I.

Lily: Really? Are you sure about that? That’s not why you were trying to convince me to do a joint power grab with you?

Billy: Trust me, lily, I didn’t know this was coming, okay? I was just as surprised as everyone is going to be when they hear the news.

Lily: Okay, so, sorry. That– that’s it? She’s– she’s gone?

Billy: Well, I mean, it’s jill, right? She’s never going to really be gone forever, but she did hand the reins over to me. Of course, she’s going to keep her board seat.

Lily: And did she say why?

Billy: She did. She said it’s time for me to shine.

Lily: “It’s time for you to shine.”

Billy: I’m glad you find that funny.

Lily: I mean, this is– I– this is very, very suspicious.

Billy: Really? You think I’d make something like this up? You think I would lie about something like this, lily?

Lily: Billy, I don’t know. This is weird, right? It’s weird, why wouldn’t jill tell devon and me directly?

Billy: I don’t know.

Lily: I mean, this feels a lot like when mamie came to town with all of her secrets and the games that she was playing. I didn’t like it then, and I definitely don’t like it now.

Devon: Do you think I’m being paranoid to be suspicious of billy’s motives?

Nate: I’m not saying we shouldn’t keep an eye on billy, but now you’re all so worried about aunt mamie.

Devon: Well, we all are.

Nate: Yeah, and just a few days ago you were doubting lily, reading into her glances with billy. Upset that she voted against her and stating me on the board, thinking you were losing control of the company because she wasn’t necessarily agreeing with you.

Devon: Right, okay, I– listen, I get that you don’t mind that she voted against you, and you don’t think I should ever go against my sister. You’ve made that clear.

Nate: I’m just saying you spend an awful lot of time spinning conspiracy theories about internal threats. And I admit, I am guilty of that as well. I am not innocent here. But what if we put that energy towards building bridges instead of blowing them up?

Devon: Yeah, I mean, sure, I can admit that maybe I’ve gotten caught up in corporate politics.

Nate: Yeah, thank you. Thank you for admitting that.

Devon: For sure, yeah. I might be, you know, seeing threats that aren’t really there, or I’m exaggerating ones that are. Either way, though, I really would like to know what kind of bomb billy’s about to drop right now.

Nate: You and me both.

Devon: ‘Cause I doubt it’s about building bridges. So, why don’t we go stand side-by-side with lily, and hear what it is?

Adam: I– I don’t blame you for any of this. And I’m trying like hell not to blame myself either.

Chelsea: Well, the doctors tell us not to, but–

Adam: I’m– I’m doing my best to listen, okay? And I hope you are too. This is exhausting enough without us beating ourselves up. Oh, god, I’m sorry, I’m– that was a terrible choice of words, okay?

Chelsea: It– it used to just be a figure of speech.

Adam: I just don’t understand how this is happening. I don’t understand how connor is literally beating himself up.

Chelsea: His little hands– his little hands, they used to wrap around my– my fingers when he was a baby. The– the hands that we would hold while we’d help him cross the street. How can he be using those hands to hurt himself? And how is this not our fault?

Adam: Chelsea. Look, we can’t keep going there. I know it’s hard not to do that, but we– we can’t keep asking, “why connor? Why our son?” Blame is not going to get us any closer to figuring out how to help him.

Chloe: Well, I got your favorite, but you probably want to get a new one. It’s definitely cold.

Sally: Is that your way of saying I’m late?

Chloe: Well, look, I don’t blame you for wanting to put this off because you are busted. I found you out.

Sally: What are you talking about?

Chloe: I know that you have been paying our business bills from your personal account. Don’t deny it.

Sally: I had to. Do you want our company to flatline?

Chloe: We’re not there yet.

Sally: Our account will be tapped out by the end of the month. And look, I’m trying to buy us some time, so that we can survive, at least on paper, for a little bit longer. Maybe give us some time to find a solution.

Chloe: Look, I’m– I’m not angry. At all. I mean, I’m touched. But, you know, that is a really big sacrifice, investing your own money. So, this is going to be a loan. One that will be paid back.

Sally: I’m fine with that. I’m not looking to be broke and a failure. So… how do we find financing to save our firm?

[ Chloe sighs ]

Chloe: I don’t believe I’m going to say this, um… maybe adam’s idea is our best and last shot. Joining newman enterprises.

Sally: So, now you see the logic.

Chloe: Well, desperation brings clarity.

[ Sally laughs ]

Sally: It– it doesn’t matter. Victor shot it down, and he doesn’t seem to have reconsidered.

Chloe: Well, maybe we find a way to change his mind.

So tell me about

your heart attack.

Christine: After our amazing, earth-moving night together, I realized there was no other choice, and danny was so sweet. He kept asking me over and over again if I was sure. But I have never been more certain. There will be other cases, and I just didn’t want to lose out on our romantic momentum.

Phyllis: Seriously? You want to be a groupie?

Danny: Oh, come on, phyllis.

Phyllis: No, I mean, who’s gonna– who’s gonna know that you’re a hot shot lawyer? And you’re a do-gooder. Who’s going to know that?

Christine: I’ve been doing plenty of good for danny.

Phyllis: This is just a slap in the face for me. You know that I’m more than willing to show up for danny. And you’re trying to block me from doing that.

Christine: Phyllis. Me going with him has nothing to do with you. This is about us falling back in love.

Billy: Look, I don’t know why my mother does the things that she does, okay? But if you don’t trust me, why don’t you get on the phone, and call her yourself, all right? Might be a little bit hard to get a hold of her because she’s on a plane going to live her life.

Lily: Oh, that’s convenient.

Billy: Lily, do you really think I’m that stupid to try and make a move like this on you and my mother? I mean, what do I have to gain from that? In fact, I have everything to lose. Look, I get it, it’s a shock. But honestly, I’m not giving up on this opportunity. Especially when I believe that this company’s heading in the wrong direction with all the warmongering from devon and mamie.

Lily: Okay, please don’t go there right now.

Billy: Fine, not the best time to go there, because this news is going to be enough to process with everyone, and I get it, okay? Your brother, he’s not going to be happy about this.

Lily: I cannot believe that jill would make a decision like this without even discussing it with me first.

Billy: She should have, okay? But she didn’t, and we’re here now.

Devon: Hello. I mean, I assumed that me not being invited was an oversight. So, what’s going on?

Lily: Well, you might want to sit down, because um, it’s a shocker.

Chloe: There’s one way it could work. We enlist adam. Oh, my mouth even hurts just from saying the words.

Sally: Absolutely not. Adam is going through hell right now and I’m not about to pull him into our problems.

Chloe: Yeah, I know, chelsea told me about the troubles they’re having with connor. It’s terrible. But, I mean, it was adam’s idea. I mean, he may be up for the challenge. Maybe it would be a good distraction for him.

Sally: Not going to happen.

Chloe: Okay, so what about nick? He thought it was a great business move, and he could help us with victor.

Sally: That is the desperation talking.

Chloe: Okay, well, I don’t know what to tell you. I’m giving you all the solutions and you just keep on shooting them down.

Sally: You know what? Maybe this was a mistake.

Chloe: Wait, what do you mean? That we should just give up? That our partnership is over?

Chelsea: You’re right. We need a plan. A new one. Knowing connor thinks all of this is happening because he thinks he’s worthless, and not being able to tell him that’s not true because it’s not healthy for us to be in the same room with him right now. We have to figure this out.

Adam: Look, when I said that we need to get closer to finding an answer, I didn’t mean you and me. Okay, as much as I– I hate to say this, I don’t think that we are the people who can find that answer. We have to leave it to the people with the experience and the education in this.

Chelsea: Are you giving up?

Adam: No, I’m– I’m giving in to reality. Okay, our knee-jerk reactions and our parental instincts are not helping him. They might be making it worse.

Chelsea: So, it is our fault.

Adam: No, we are reacting the way any parent would, the way a parent does. Doctors have told us that. You know, they’re not surprised they have parents questioning their techniques all the time, because we want to help our son. You know, and I’m more guilty than you are. I mean, I’m the one who’s flown off the handle, and I wanted to yank him out of there.

Chelsea: Maybe you were right. Maybe he needs a new care team, a new facility.

Adam: No, chelsea, you were right. You’ve been right. Okay, you were the one that talked me down. You told me, “trust the process.” Well, I finally see it. Or I finally admit that I don’t know how to fix this, so we have to have faith in the doctors, and we just– we have to get the hell out of their way.

Chelsea: I know in my heart you’re right. Because I had to accept the same things, and trust that my doctors were going to help me.

Adam: Well, seeing connor go through this, it’s– it’s given me a better understanding of your struggle. And now I realize how much you had suffered before you got well.

Chelsea: That’s why I just want to take my son’s pain away. Because I’ve lived it. I can’t watch our son suffer anymore, adam. I really can’T.

Adam: I know.

[ Adam sniffles ] I’m jonathan lawson,

Phyllis: What? You’ve fallen back in love? Okay, I just, um– ah, great, I– I think I lost my appetite.

Christine: Are you sure you don’t want a muffin? You look a little pale.

Phyllis: No, trust me, I may never eat again.

Danny: Well, hey, um, you take care, phyllis.

Phyllis: Yeah, you take care. Listen, I’ll look after our son. I– I’ll try to stop him from making tremendous mistakes, unlike his father.

Danny: Oh, come on, please.

Phyllis: Really, no, no, it’s fine, it’s fine, at least, I know I’m not going to run into cricket any time soon. So, um, have a good tour. Have fun, um, what do you say? Break a leg. Ugh.

[ Danny sighs ]

Danny: Wow, I’m, uh– I’m really sorry about that. You know, obviously she doesn’t know you’re not supposed to say “break a leg” for a rock tour. That’s more of a broadway thing.

Christine: Okay, well, of course she knows. But, like, I don’t even care. Because nothing can spoil my excitement.

Danny: She is right about one thing, though, you know. Being on the road can be tough.

Christine: I am here for it. Our next adventure. On the road. And back. In love.

[ Danny sighs ]

Danny: Yeah. To the start of our next chapter together, my love.

Sally: No, you goof. Our partnership is not a mistake.

Chloe: Oh, okay. Well, thank you, geez.

Sally: I– I meant, maybe we made a mistake stepping outside our comfort zone. We know fashion. We’re great at it. Maybe we shouldn’t have drifted too far from our calling.

Chloe: Okay, wait a minute. Are you saying that we abandon our interior design business, and go back to fashion? Again? And– and with what capital? I mean, you’ve been dipping into your piggy bank. And what is nick going to think about losing his investment?

Sally: I– I don’t know, okay? I don’t have all the answers, I’m just starting to think about it.

Chloe: Okay, well, we’re running out of time, I mean, you said it yourself.

Sally: Yeah, which is exactly why we have to make a move fast or nick will lose his investment for sure, and we will be out of a job, so, we have to be proactive and we do not need nick or victor or adam to do it, okay? We are smart, we are experienced and we are creative. We can dig ourselves out of this hole on our own, okay? Are you with me?

Chloe: A hundred percent. But we are going to need damn big shovels.

[ Sally chuckles ]

[ Chelsea sighs ]

Chelsea: Sorry. Sorry, I lost it. I seem to be doing that a lot lately.

Adam: Well, your way of losing it is a lot better than mine. It’s a lot less destructive.

Chelsea: Yeah, I was actually impressed you really held it together when our visit fell apart. I was– I was expecting you to run past those doctors, find connor, and make a run for it.

Adam: Well, I may have checked the exits, and looked for a way to dodge security, you know?

Chelsea: Well, who knew? You were the calm one.

Adam: A rare occurrence. I really do mean it, though. We have to trust the doctors. Pulling connor out now would mean we would have to start all over, and that’s not fair to him. And I don’t think we could take it as a family. The only real option is forward.

Devon: So this is not a joke. That’s what you’re saying. Jill’s out, billy’s in, no one discussed it with her partners?

Billy: That about sums it up.

Devon: Is this another one of your power plays, billy?

Lily: Okay, let’s not make accusations until we talk to jill.

Devon: Well, apparently that’s impossible to do because she’s unreachable and traveling the world, right?

Billy: I get it, okay? I was just as surprised as you are. But it’s happening, so we’re just gonna have to make it work.

Devon: No, we don’t have to do anything, actually, until we speak to your mom. We’re not just gonna let you get away with this.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

Continued any further without them seeing each other for who they ar that we have avorite vintage. Enjoy. Hey, so, I need to let the chef know that we have a party of six coming in, and they’re celebrating their parents’ 50th wedding anniversary. Okay. So I want to have some white-chocolate mousse sent out to them with some raspberry coulis, compliments of the hotel. Fantastic. I’ll let them know. Great. Oh. And somebody’s here to see you. Thank you. Commissioner. Can I get you a table? Oh, no. Thank you. I don’t need a reservation. Need some answers. Could you explain to me why you went to visit jack brennan in pentonville? Hey, michael. Michael: Hey. Did you have dinner? I can heat something up for you. I’m just scoping out recipes. No, no, you’re fine. I grabbed something to eat when I got home from work. You take a break. You’ve earned it. Your cooking is getting rave reviews from the adults and kids alike, and you know how hard the kids are to please, so… well, in this case, it’s the adults that have me digging through recipes. Well, I have not heard any complaints from them. So you’re doing great. Well, if they’re happy, I’m happy. They are thrilled.

[ Laughs ] Not only is olivia less stressed, but we’re getting regular meals, and we still have access to our own kitchen, so you are the perfect cook. Well, I am very glad that someone thinks so. You know, I am, um — I am a little surprised that you did take the job, though. Yeah? Why? ‘Cause I used to be a glamorous spokesmodel? Uh, ’cause, um… well, because of you and me. Nice ride, tracy. You have a great seat. Anyone ever told you that?

[ Horse neighs ] Not in a while. That is a great saddle. Thank you for letting me try it. Yeah, no problem. Expecting someone? Yeah, I thought I was, but now I think I’m getting stood up. Who would do that to you? Tracy! Sorry I’m late. Stella: Ah!

[ Laughs ]

[ Laughs ] Go ahead. Thanks. You just worked a full shift at G.H. Are you sure you don’t want to just soak in a hot bath, order in, watch one of your favorite shows? Don’t try to back out of our movie date with a sweet attempt to find something else for me to do. You can’t stay cooped up in this gallery all day surrounded by… nice style. Different style of art. Well, that’s called the “ode to duchamp.” Yeah. Mm-hmm. I know art is subjective and expensive. That’s how ava stays in business.

[ Chuckles ] You know, your great-grandmother, she used to say, “a fool and his money are soon parted.” ‘Cause our father was always coming home with these get-rich-quick schemes. I’ll tell you about ’em someday.

[ Chuckles ] Well, I can’t wait. And… I just want to say… I know what you’re doing. And I want to let you know… that it’s working. Are you sure about this? I don’t know. I — maybe this is a mistake. You know, the last few times that willow and i have been together, we’ve actually parted ways without things deteriorating. I don’t know. I don’t want to push it. I really don’T. And I don’t want willow to think that we’re handling her in a certain way. Would you calm down and stick to the program?

[ Sighs ] I’m your boss. I called you in to talk about crimson. Don’t worry about it. I got everything else handled. Drew, this psa copy looks great. I hope I can do it…justice. Nina. Hi, willow. What are you doing here?

Were just wrappingup some crimson business. Did I answer all your questions about the new accounting system? Hm! Okay. Good. I’ll make sure I speak to the software engineers and I express the rest of your concerns, okay? Thank you. Thank you, drew. Uh, lots of changes since I’ve been back. Absolutely. Sure is. And my door is always open. You guys can wrap up. I can step outside and go over this copy. No! No, no, no. Stay. Stay. Um, willow is prepping for her very first psa for the new tomorrow institute. Yes! That is really, really great! I-I’m so proud of aurora for supporting such a worthy cause… and you for being the spokesperson.

[ Chuckles ] Okay. Well… I’ll leave you to it. Hey. Hold on a second. I just had a brilliant idea. Would you mind sitting in? What do you mean, you know what I’m doing? You act like I have some ulterior motive for trying to spend time with you. Well, don’t you? The last time we went on a coffee date, you were worried about how I was handling losing spencer. And I took your advice. And I tried to do something meaningful that helped me get closure. Did it help? A bit. But I’m no closer to knowing what to do with myself. I know, honey. I do see you trying and I see you struggling. I just wish I could wave a magic wand and take all the hurt away. Me too. Josslyn is your great friend. And keeping yourself busy here at the gallery. But sometimes you just need a hug and a shoulder to lean on him and… so here I am, baby. Thank you.

[ Chuckles ] Okay, we got to keep going, right? Yeah. 15 grand, huh? Yeah. A-ha! No accounting for taste. Aunt stella!

[ Stella and trina laughing ] Hello, ladies. Hey, jordan. Hey, jordan. Hey. I am really glad to see you both so happy. But I’m sorry to say I am about to be a buzzkill. So this is an interrogation? Well, I’m just curious as to why you would visit your attempted abductor in prison. So I have to check my comings and goings with the pcpd? Maybe, when you’re talking to the former head of the wsb… and pikeman security group. Has that been confirmed? Brennan was head of pikeman? Working theory. I’ve answered your question. Now you answer mine. You know, last time you came knocking on my door with the third degree, you and agent cates accused me of harboring a criminal. Don’t you have better things to do with your time? I do. I have to run a hotel. Okay, so, the fact that jason slipped out of your house doesn’t mean that he wasn’t there. You’re deliberately not answering my question. Why is that? How do you know I went to pentonville? Well, brennan may be sequestered, awaiting trial, but he is still considered a dangerous man. He has a lot of eyes on him. Especially the fbi’s? I was beginning to think I had been stood up. Well, since you asked yuri to drive me, I could hardly “ghost you,” as violet would say.

[ Chuckles ] And it was such a lovely evening, I asked him to take the route around the lake, and the sunset was breathtaking. So I asked him to stop, and h-he found a nice spot and pulled over and… piped tchaikovsky into the back seat. And I just soaked in the music and the splendor and got lost in it. I think we both did. I’m sorry I missed it. Uh, I am, too. You would have enjoyed it. And I would have enjoyed it more with you. Well, I-I did get to see some of the sunset on my ride. And you’re so right. It really was lovely.

[ Chuckles ] You know, gregory, I-I bet we could convince tracy to hop back on her horse. Two of you could finish that sunset together. What do you say? Want to trade out your cane for a saddle? Maybe next time.

T-that’s an interesting assumption. The fbi. Yeah. If this is your way of trying to figure out what I know, let me save you some time. John cates was asking jason about a connection between sonny, brennan, and pikeman, but brennan didn’t seem to know anything about it. So you told brennan, then? That agent cates was on his case? Like, specifically. Yeah, it’s not like it’s some deep dark secret. Yes, carly! It was! Didn’t you learn first-hand how law enforcement works when you were married to the mob?! I’m sure nina has more important things to do than listen to me practice my psa. Well, like I said, I’ll let you two get to work. Well, j-just hold on one second. Are you sure, willow? I mean… nina listens to pitches and ad campaigns just about every day. It’d be a shame not to take advantage of her expertise. Someone with so much media and promotion experience. J-just figure she might see something that I could miss. Unless you’re not comfortable. I — well, I’m not sure I’ll ever be comfortable with being a public figure, but it is important and I agreed to do it. But nina has a magazine to run. I’m just suggesting it because this is your first psa, and we really want to knock it out of the part. But, of course… it’s completely up to you. You know what happened the first time I rode a merry-go-round? I fell off.

[ Chuckles ] Stop trying to make me feel better, cowboy. No, no. It’s — it’s a true story. I was, uh — I was a little younger than leo. I was probably 8 or 9. I was trying to impress a very cute girl. Hard to believe. And she kept looking at this brass ring that was at the top of the pole. So I-I climbed up on t-the carousel pony and I stretched out my little body as far as it would go, and I just kept reaching for that brass ring. And then I fell — flat on my face. Don’t know how I didn’t break my nose, but I got eight stitches in my head. Too bad it didn’t knock some sense into you. Wait, wait. W-what about the girl? The next day, she sat next to me on the school bus.

[Chuckling] Ohh! And? The moral is? Reach for that brass ring. You may fall flat on your face, but… ya never know. He’s well-meaning. Yeah. I wish everyone treated me so kindly or gave me such good advice. Sasha: I don’t know, michael. Given your family’s history with relationships, I’m pretty sure the fact that you and i used to be a couple barely even registers on their radar. Maybe you’re just disappointed that I never used to cook like this for you. I’m a little disappointed, yeah.

[ Chuckles ] No, it’s just — I, uh — I’m just sorry that you even had to take this position. I never thought you would’ve walked away from deception. I mean, I could have negotiated, like, a golden parachute or something. I just hate that you left all that stock on the table and now you’re here cooking for my crazy, mixed-up family. Please. Take that off your mind. I wanted to walk away. And, yes, selling all my shares was a big…gulp. Sure. But… it was a loss that I was willing to take for my peace of mind. And gladys already took all my money, so it’s not like I didn’t have any practice. You know, sasha, you don’t have to do that with me, you know, pretend that you’re — you’re okay. I’m not pretending. It was time for me to go, michael. I’ve made peace with my decision, and, honestly, I haven’t even looked back. When olivia offered me this job, I jumped at it. I-I had other options, but none that I liked. Okay. You know, maybe if you would have given your job search a little more time, I-I would have lent you the money to tide you over. I’m sure sonny would have, too. I really appreciate the gesture, michael. But, first, I would not have taken it. And, second, there’s no need. I like it here. You know, I-I don’t know if you remember, but I always used to say that I longed to be part of a family… after growing up without one. So now I get to cook for your “crazy, mixed-up family.” I get to practice my cooking and stay in a home with people I know and trust. Trust? I wouldn’t — I wouldn’t go that far.

[ Laughs ] But, I mean, maybe… I should have asked you before I said yes. I mean, I-I never even talked to willow about it. I really hope that I have not made things awkward between the two of you, have I?

I didn’t even think to ask willow how she might feel about me moving in here. We used to be so close, and then with everything that has happened to both of us, we’ve lost touch. And then after she had amelia and I showed up at the gatehouse hopped up on pills, she’s probably worried about having me around the kids. No, no. Hey. Sasha, that is not the case at all. We know what the situation was. Y-you were sabotaged. We trust you. Thank you. As far as us and our — our history… yeah, we shared a lot of memories, but we’re good, though, right? I mean… unless you’re saying it’s awkward for you. No. No. I-I really like being here. Good. Because the quartermaines, who rarely agree on anything, agree on you. Especially the kids, ’cause they love your beignets. I’m so glad. And, honestly, michael, this is not a step down for me. I really love cooking for your family. I… I’ve found it really… nurturing and grounding. I like seeing how happy people are when they eat my food, knowing that I’m contributing to their well-being. And I really love seeing how happy you are with willow. You guys are really inspirational. The love and the commitment that you share.

[ Door opens ] I, um — I used to have that once, so… maybe I will again. Have what? I don’t know if there will be an actual motion to reopen heather’s case, but I wanted to let you know what was brewing.

[ Scoffs ] This is preposterous! I’ve lost count of that woman’s victims! And she almost made trina one of them! What is there to revisit, jordan? How could this even be considered?! Well, it’s been discovered that heather was slowly being poisoned by an artificial hip implant decades ago with neurotoxic results. Wait. What? They think her artificial hip made her crazy? I-I read about this. A-and I did some digging. Some people who were poisoned by heavy metals have been affected mentally w-with anxiety, depression, cognitive dysfunction, bipolarity, even schizophrenia. But even if that were the case, heather is a brutal killer. Surely, this can’t erase her actual crimes! No, but some people think it can help explain them. “Some people”? Who? Who would even advocate for heather webber?! Well, you’re gonna find out anyways. My boss has raised the question. Spencer’s grandmother? Blood cancers once considered fatal can now be cured… if only people knew where to look for help. I should know since a marrow donor saved my life. That’s why the new tomorrow institute was created — to help people like you and me. Willow , that was so good, especially for your first try! Thanks, drew. Uh, nina? Anything to add? You come across very sincere and authentic. But? No. [ Chuckles ] I don’t — I don’t want to make you feel self-conscious. No, what you’re doing is — is spot-on. Nina, it’s okay. I… I’d like to hear what you have to say. Okay. Willow, you’re living proof that cancer doesn’t need to be a death sentence. You are the success story. You’re the example that people can aspire to. You came through a harrowing ordeal, and now you have a wonderful, healthy, happy, fulfilling life. Show that. Show the people that are dealing with cancer and their families that they not only stand to survive, but, like you, to thrive. So, in other words… totally okay to smile a little.

[ Both laugh ] Noted. Anything else? You got this. I’m gonna go back to my office. Nina. Thank you. Any time.

[ Door closes ]

[ Exhales sharply ] Why on earth would you think it was a good idea to tell brennan that he and pikeman were subjects of an fbi investigation?! Because I wanted to know how he’d react. Why? Are you running an investigation of your own? From the minute I laid eyes on brennan. Oh, he hasn’t asked you to call him “jack” yet? No. He told me he was in the “security business.” And I took that to mean he was ex-intelligence or ex-military. I thought he was going after sonny, then I realized he was working with that guy hume. And when I heard the name pikeman in connection with brennan, it’s not a far stretch to think the fbi had their sights on him. Okay. God. Don’t know why I’m telling you this. Okay. Listen. The fbi didn’t realize that the former director of the wsb was involved with pikeman, maybe even running it, because he had managed to conceal his involvement. And that is why he came after me. But did brennan come after you? Well, yes. I thought that was hume. Did jack brennan come anywhere near you? How did he find out about john cates? You know, ’cause brennan was already in prison when he came to town. Did he tell you that or did… did you tell him? I may have mentioned it. Okay. So you blithely confirmed to brennan that he is under fbi surveillance… and you have put pikeman on high alert… and you have compromised a major investigation!

What happens with your investigation is not my problem. Okay, you know, you need to listen to me, carly! So you understand what’s at stake! Like what?! Never mind. I don’t want to know. I don’t want to know. Because why should I trust you? Why should I trust

any of you? I mean, john shows up being all nice and genuine. Then he goes to jason and he hassles him about pikeman! And you know this how? I don’t think john would have shared that information with you. Were you listening? You were listening, weren’t you? Oh, my god. Of course, you were listening! You just asked me why you should trust me. It’s because I’m trying to help you! Or have you forgotten that brennan could have killed you the day that we arrested him? I remember you and dante bursting in with your guns drawn. The only thing brennan was packing was a couple zip ties. Yeah, like everyone walks around with zip ties in their pocket! Well, apparently, all spies do. Where are yours? In your pocket or in your purse somewhere? I don’t have any — okay. Look. I have never, ever considered you to be stupid or naive. But brennan could have kidnapped you that day or worse. You know what? I’m not so sure about that. I mean, if jack brennan is as dangerous as you say, he could have taken me down, he could have pulled a gun. He didn’t do either. I mean, maybe what you saw as a life-or-death situation was just a miscommunication. Why don’t you try to be as smart as you think you are? You stay the hell away from jack brennan! Oh, really? Hey, fritz. Um, I don’t feel like driving tomorrow, so I’m gonna need a ride. Yes. Yes, that’s right. Well, I would like to go to pentonville. Yes. No. I-I want to leave from here. Great. I’ll see you tomorrow. Well, that’s nice of you — to still visit your friends behind bars. Finn and violet have probably already left for the rehearsal and coney island, so why don’t you have dinner with me? As it turns out, sasha is a fabulous cook. All she has to do is heat it up for us. I’m not having dinner with you tonight, tracy, because you are going to coney island.

[ Laughs ] Oh, in the words of the bensonhurst brigade… “fuggedaboutit.” This is lois’ event, not mine. And while they’re all dining on hot dogs and cotton candy, I will be enjoying sasha’s delicious meal with cloth napkins and a tablecloth. Besides, I’m not in the ceremony, so there’s nothing for me to rehearse. I couldn’t disagree with you more. I need you to stand in for me at the rehearsal. That way, you can tell me when the music starts and stops, when I make my entrance, where to stand, all the little details that I need to know. Is this why you wanted to see me tonight? Uh, partially. T-there’s something else. I guess you could call it my “fail-safe” plan — in case I can’t make it to my son’s wedding. I am really excited about hopefully helping so many people, but I have so much to learn when it comes to the media side of things. I have no doubt that you’re gonna get the hang of it. Plus, you got so many people around you to help. It was a really good idea to have nina stay for the rehearsal. Her suggestion to simply smile made it so much easier the next few rehearsals. You really are a natural, but I have to admit nina’s media savvy probably could help us reach our target audience. So if you’re open to it, I mean, I could ask her to become more involved. Well, I’m not surprised… since you and nina planned this whole thing. Didn’t you? I’m just here to scrounge. I was hoping to find some yummy leftovers in the fridge. Yeah, I take it you’re hungry? Aren’t I always?

[ Laughs ] This is what I like to see. Checking out new recipes? Yeah, I am thinking of trying out some new appetizers. Ooh! Stick around long enough, and you might get to sample them. I’m really glad we talked, michael.

[ Sighs ] She’s amazing. Oh, I know. So, what are your plans for all of her…amazingness?

oh, baby, how are you feeling about this? I can’t feel anything but betrayed. For me and spencer. I understand, baby. And I don’t blame you one bit. And right now I’m — I’m straining my objectivity to try to see it from laura’s point of view. I’m trying to think how I might feel if this was a member of our family. Stella, that’s big of you. Really. It’s amazing. You know, I was police commissioner throughout heather’s hook killing spree, her jail breaks, and I’m struggling to find objectivity, too. But, still, I recognize laura’s courage to even consider taking this on. She has to realize the political firestorm she’ll cause if she gets that case against heather re-opened. So, are you saying that laura’s asking for heather to be set free? Well, you just put that out there, didn’t ya? I find it saves a lot of time to be direct. I saw you two just now. There’s sparks, you know? T-there’s something there. Yeah. Yeah. We have a good time. We’re friends. Friends. Okay. Friendship’s good. Can’t have too many. But some friendships are more special than others, and I just — I hope you realize how special sasha is. Don’t I ever. I mean… her molten chocolate lava cake is to die for. Are you ever serious? I’m very serious about my job, so no worries there. Okay. What about sasha? She has been through a hell of a lot these last few years. And she’s come through. She’s one of the best people that I know. So I hope you’re serious about being good to her. I will be as good to her as she’ll let me be. Willow, are you — are you accusing me of — of setting you up? I am accusing you of being a well-meaning friend who is trying to patch things up between nina and me. I’ll admit. I would love if you and nina work things out, but I am a businessman, and nina coaching you makes for a better psa, which may widen the reach for the appeal, which is what aurora promised the new tomorrow institute. So it’s good business. I would never do anything that I thought would hurt you. I hope you know that, willow. A-and I do get how sensitive the situation is between you and your mother. Ahh. My “mother.” That still lands with a jolt. I haven’t thought of nina in those terms in a while. I know, willow, but if I can get past it and find a way to work with her, maybe you can, too. I meant what I said before. Your attitude toward nina, your ability to put the past in the past and deal with her here in the present, made me rethink my own attitude. But it’s hard. I have opened myself up to nina on more than one occasion, and it did not go well for me. There was always a lie or manipulation, and then I’m left feeling angry and foolish. Like, how many times do I have to go through the same thing before I learn my lesson? Nina was the one that needed to learn her lesson, willow. Maybe she has. Maybe? I can’t be sure. But I’m willing to give her a chance. And I — I realize that it’s easier for me. She sent you to prison! I have a professional relationship with her, not a personal relationship with her, so she can, like — she can disappoint me, she can frustrate me, but she can’t — she can’t wound me. So I get… I get how letting her in is just a much bigger risk for you than it is for me. And saying that… …I realize that I owe you an apology. You? Why? I, uh… may have finagled the meeting and pushed things a bit so that you guys would have a chance to interact. And I’m sorry. But I stand by my business perspective. She really did make things better. So if you’re not comfortable… no, no. I’ll — I’ll think about it. Good. Then why do you look so upset? Because I have no right to come down on you. Not when I’ve been keeping something from you myself. Keeping something from me? About your brother. Carly: I can’t do this! I don’t have time. I’m sorry. That’s — that was unnecessary. Carly, I’m having the best day ever, and I do not want to ruin it. Look. We are never gonna hear bluebirds or see rainbows when our paths cross, but we don’t have to take shots at each other unnecessarily. Like you just did? It — that was a reflex that I regret. And I’m sorry. I approached you because there was actually another reason why I needed to talk to you. It can’t be another apology. I’ve already heard them all. No. I wanted to tell you that…

[ Exhales heavily ] …You were right about sonny.

I cobbled together some traditional texts along with some thoughts and musings of my own. I’m sure it’s very beautiful. Thanks, but I’m not looking for assurance. I’m holding you to your promise to take my place if I — yadda, yadda, yadda! You are presiding over chase and brook lynn’s ceremony. It’s meant to be. The only things that are “meant to be” are death and taxes. Yeah, well, I take exception to the latter. Tracy, don’t tell me you have stage fright.

[ Scoffs] Whether I do or not is beside the point. You’re the officiant! I-I’m just — I’m covering my bases, in case I can’t read my notes or I-I lose my breath, things that have been happening more and more these days. I’ll need my understudy to go on if that happens. Well, I seriously doubt that I’m gonna need to “go on,” as you put it, because you are perfectly capable of marrying those two, all while being… the most attractive man in the room.

[ Chuckles ] Flattery… will get you everywhere. Except coney island. Now, can we get to the airport in time? You have to make that rehearsal. I’ll get there. Oh… w-what’s the dress code for coney island? Think mermaid.

[ Groans ]

[ Laughs ] I heated you up some beef bourguignon. Otherwise known as beef stew.

[ Chuckles ] Where’s michael? Uh, he, uh — he left… right after warning me to be good to you. Okay. Well, I know michael. He had the best of intentions, but it’s not his job to make sure that I’m well-treated. It’s mine. I get to decide all on my own if a situation works for me, if it fits my needs. So we’re talking about your job as a cook? “Situation” is pretty vague. It covers my job, but also the people I associate with. Like me. You don’t need a lecture from michael on being good to me, cody. You already are. Trina, I can’t speak for laura’s intentions, but I do know her as my boss and as a person. She is smart and sensitive. So let’s not jump to any conclusions. The immediate question is, where does heather belong while they sort out her medical and legal issues? My vote is someplace safe and secure. T-this is a very complicated issue. I’ve worked with psych patients and their families, and — and I know that people’s pain, whether mental or physical, can drive them to do and say things that would otherwise be unthinkable. Okay, aunt stella, maybe heather was acting out of mental or physical pain, as you say. But what about her victims? What about the victims’ families? What about the pain she inflicted on us?! What I’m about to tell you is confidential, okay? Okay. When jason got back to port charles, after he jumped off the bridge… michael and I found him in the boathouse badly wounded. And we bandaged him up and got him antibiotics from the hospital. Jason should never have put you guys in that position. We had to do something. He was shot. So did you stitch him up? Of course you did. Because that’s what you do, willow. You help people. You helped jason. You help people at G.H. And now you’re helping people through the new tomorrow institute. I appreciate you so much, willow. And your secret is safe with me. Nina: You said that it wasn’t going to last, that sonny would leave me, and he did. If I had listened to you, maybe I could have saved myself some heartache, but, you know, I-I wouldn’t listen to you or anyone else. I had to live it. And I have. Is that all? I’m trying to make amends with drew. I understand needing to be on good terms with your employer. It’s in drew and my best interests to have a good working relationship. Then I guess it’s all worked out, huh? You and drew have a working relationship. You’re back at crimson. I have my hotel back. I mean… no reason to look back at all the damage done, huh? It’s good for all just to move forward. You make it sound easy. Not easy. Necessary. I’m not looking back. I’m not going that way. Jason? Jason?!

[ Exhales sharply ] Well, you were right.

Days Opinions For The Week Of May 6, 2024

Opinion Article

by Michele & Cheryl

Paulina from Days

The writers clearly want Paulina to look like a monster for saving Chanel’s life. Of course, the writers had to have Paulina responsible for Chanel’s baby possibly being in danger. Paulina did what any other parent on the show would have done if their children were in danger. We get that Paulina should have stayed at the hospital, but Chanel would still be in the snow if she didn’t rescue her. Now they want Paulina to look like the bad guy for saving her.

Chanel basically blamed Paulina for putting her life in danger. She said she was grateful to Paulina for saving her life. Now she basically blamed Paulina for the baby’s life being in danger. Would Chanel have felt better if Paulina left her to die? We understand that she’s pregnant and scared for her baby, but Paulina is the same person she wanted to live not too long ago. Fast forward weeks later and Chanel wanted to give Paulina the brush. She didn’t even want to spend Mother’s Day with Paulina even though she didn’t want her to die. We understand that Chanel is upset that Paulina risked her baby’s life, but she decided to keep the baby, so she didn’t need to blame Paulina anymore.

We applaud the writers for Sloan revealing the truth about Jude to EJ. Sloan predictably wanted to work with EJ to keep the baby a secret, but we’re surprised the truth came out. We personally wouldn’t mind seeing Sloan and EJ work together to keep the secret from Nicole and Eric. It’s not the ideal opinion, but we’re curious as to what EJ will do about the baby.

Kristen made it seem as if Brady didn’t have any money because Victor cut him out of the will. What happened to John’s money? John’s rich so Brady should have his money. Are we supposed to believe John suddenly lost his money? Also, Brady lives with John and Marlena, so he doesn’t have to pay for anything other than child support. He should be able to give Kristen money.

We applaud the writers for giving John, Marlena, Steve, and Maggie a story. It’s nice to see the veterans on the show in a major storyline for a change. Despite how long it has taken to reveal the truth about Konstantin, it’s nice to see them in a story. We know it won’t last long so we will enjoy it while it lasts. Hopefully it won’t take the writers a long time before they get a storyline again.

We liked Johnny bonding with EJ over the baby. It was the least Johnny could do since he didn’t invite him to the wedding. Anyway, we loved seeing them talk about the baby. Johnny is going through a lot knowing that the baby may have problems, so it was good that he had someone to talk to. It’s not as if he talks to anyone else in his family so luckily EJ was around to talk to. Speaking of Johnny’s family, you would think he would talk to Sami about the baby. She knows what it’s like to have a child who isn’t healthy so she could have told him what to do about his situation.

You would think Maggie wouldn’t have been hesitant to listen to Marlena, Steve, and John about Konstantin using her. Maggie has known them for years so she should know they wouldn’t have lied to her about Konstantin. If anything, they would have had her best interests at heart. They wouldn’t have lied to her. We know Maggie must be clueless for Konstantin’s plan to work but it didn’t make sense for her to think the best in Konstantin and the worst in her friends.

Days of Our Lives Update

Days of Our Lives logo

Update written by Joseph

EJ is outside the DiMera Mansion, on the phone with Dr. Rolf, demanding the DNA test results. EJ questions how much longer he needs. EJ tells him to let him know the second he gets them. EJ hangs up and then gets a call from Sloan, who is in the park with Jude. EJ asks what the hell he wants. Sloan asks if he got the test results yet. EJ says he’s working on it. Sloan assures that she told the truth that Jude is Eric and Nicole’s biological child so he can run all the tests he wants. Sloan then questions if EJ really wants to test the strength of his relationship with Nicole by her finding out the truth. Sloan asks if EJ is worried that Nicole will go running back to Eric the second that she finds out they created a child together. EJ then hangs up when he sees Nicole and Holly coming out from the mansion and greets them. Holly talks about being ready for breakfast. Nicole asks if she’s sure she’s okay with going to the Bistro. Holly assures that the restaurant didn’t have anything to do with what happened to her and that she was really enjoying her time with everyone before then. EJ, Nicole, and Holly then head for the Bistro.

Tate and Theresa have breakfast at the Bistro. Tate comments on Theresa never giving up on him. Theresa assures that she will always be there for him and she will always fight for what’s best for him even if they don’t agree on it.

Chad brings Thomas to visit Abigail’s grave for Mother’s Day. Thomas leaves drawings for her and talks about how they were going to bring Charlotte but she’s too young to understand. Thomas talks about carrying Abigail in their hearts as Chad wishes her a Happy Mother’s Day.

Julie visits the Tom and Alice plaque in the town square to wish Alice a Happy Mother’s Day. Julie talks about knowing Alice is always watching over them and how she’s doing her best to rebuild the house. Julie wishes for a hint about opening the time capsule. Julie cries about them being in Heaven with the saints and the angels where they belong. Paulina appears and wishes Julie a Happy Mother’s Day. Julie wishes her the same. Paulina mentions not feeling like such a wonderful mother these days. Julie encourages her not to be so hard on herself, pointing out that her children and grandchildren adore her along with everyone who knows her.

Johnny sits in the living room of the DiMera Mansion, on the phone with Sami for Mother’s Day. Johnny says he’s glad she and Sydney had a great day. Johnny claims he has nothing new to report and wishes Sami a Happy Mother’s Day as he hangs up. Chanel comes in and asks how his mom is. Johnny says she’s great and explains that he made reservations for Sydney to take Sami out to eat for Mother’s Day. Johnny asks if Chanel is going to be late meeting her mom for lunch. Chanel then reveals that she decided to cancel. Johnny questions why and if she’s feeling okay. Chanel responds that she’s fine and this is going to sound awful, but she can’t take seeing her mom today. Johnny encourages that it doesn’t sound awful and she’s just being honest. Chanel feels guilty and talks about Paulina protecting her all through her childhood, so she knows how much she loves her but now that she’s pregnant and her decision to leave isolation put them at risk. Johnny says he gets it. Chanel says she really can’t sit across from Paulina and make small talk while she’s mad and she can’t make it better. Johnny says she doesn’t have to explain herself. Johnny notes that he loves his mom but sometimes feels they are better off on separate continents. Johnny adds that he did not tell Sami about their pregnancy because she’d be on the next flight back to Salem. Chanel says that’s good because she’s not ready for the return of Sami Brady. Chanel then tells Johnny to wish her luck because she’s going to call Paulina to tell her she’s not coming.

Paulina and Julie talk about their grandchildren. Julie asks if Paulina has plans with Chanel for Mother’s Day. Paulina confirms going to lunch at the Bistro, then gets a call from Chanel. Chanel tells Paulina that she’s sorry but she’s not going to make it and claims she’s feeling queasy so she’s just going to stay in bed. Paulina says she understands and tells her to take care of herself. Chanel says she’ll talk to her later and hangs up.

Sloan returns home with Jude to find Eric has made her breakfast. Eric says he would’ve served her in bed if she didn’t leave so early. Sloan says Jude’s an early riser. Eric and Sloan talk about having the main course. They kiss as Eric assures he’s a patient man.

Tate tells Theresa that he gets what she’s saying and they look over the menu to order. EJ, Nicole and Holly then arrive which upsets Theresa, who questions if that’s why Tate wanted to bring her here so bad. Tate claims he had no idea they would be there. Nicole tells Holly that she wasn’t born yesterday and accuses her of wanting to come to the Bistro so she could see Tate. Holly says she didn’t know he would be there and points out that EJ made the reservation.

Chad tells Thomas that he’s really proud of him and encourages Abigail always being in his heart. Thomas says he likes coming to visit Abigail here and that Charlotte can come with them next year. Chad knows they didn’t get to be a family as long as they wanted, but he’s really grateful for the time they had. Chad tells Thomas that he loves him. Thomas tells Chad that he loves him too.

Paulina tells Julie that she suddenly has no Mother’s Day plans as Chanel is under the weather and not up for going out today. Paulina assures it’s not radiation poison which Julie calls a relief. Paulina adds that the doctor gave Chanel a full physical and said she’s fine. Paulina guesses it’s just a spring cold. Julie is sure when Chanel feels better, they will have a belated celebration.

Sloan asks Eric about his new job. Eric says it’s going great and they are surrounded by a great team for the most part, except for Leo. Eric suggests telling Chad that Leo accepts payoffs but Sloan clarifies that it wasn’t and that she was just helping a friend. Eric argues that friends don’t do things like that. Sloan tries to be understanding that Leo just lost the love of his life, who Eric points out is a felon doing hard time. Sloan says she still doesn’t want Leo to lose his job now too. Sloan pleads with Eric to just drop it as a Mother’s Day gift to her. Eric agrees only for her but notes he will still keep an eye on Leo. Sloan thinks Leo’s troublemaking days are finally behind him.

Theresa comments to Tate that she thought there would be more people at the Bistro so she hopes they don’t close as quick as they reopen. Tate questions her wanting the Bistro to stay open when Stefan was running drugs through it. Theresa argues that she has no love for Stefan or Clyde but there are good people working there and there isn’t a good restaurant on every corner. Theresa asks Tate about his job. Tate says it’s good and asks Theresa what she’s going to do now for work. Theresa says she’ll figure something out and he will be the first to know. Nicole, EJ, and Holly go over the menu at their table. EJ toasts to Nicole. Holly tells Nicole that she knows it’s been a rough year for her and she’s sorry for her part in that, but she’s extremely grateful for her as she wishes her a Happy Mother’s Day.

Chanel tells Johnny that it’s a strange Mother’s Day for her for obvious reasons, but she’s glad that EJ made them an appointment with a specialist and that not many people know she’s pregnant. Johnny states that lots of couples wait to tell people so it’s not unusual. Chanel feels guilty since they talked about how a new life is always a blessing no matter what, but now children with birth defects could mean lifelong care and she read that could put a lot of stress on a marriage and they just started their marriage again. Chanel hopes they can both be strong enough to handle whatever isn’t perfect about their baby because she doesn’t want anything to change between them. Johnny promises that nothing will change between them and hugs her as she cries.

Eric puts Jude to sleep and surprises Sloan with a Mother’s Day present which is a topaz necklace for Jude’s birthstone. Sloan tells Eric that she loves it. Eric says it represents joy and good fortune which Sloan says Jude brought in to their lives. Sloan says it’s perfect and thanks him for the best day. Eric tells her there’s a lot more to come as they kiss.

Theresa encourages Tate to be excited about prom. Tate asks how her prom was but Theresa reveals she didn’t go because she thought she was too cool for school and was dating somebody older. Theresa asks Tate if he wants to go shopping for a tuxedo because her schedule is wide open. Tate questions that being what she wants to do on Mother’s Day. Theresa tells him to find out what color Sophia’s dress is so he can get a matching bowtie. Theresa asks Tate to tell her about Sophia. Tate says she’s just a girl in a couple of his classes but he doesn’t really know her that well. Theresa questions him asking her to prom then. Tate says it just kind of happened. Theresa asks if Tate’s going to pick her up. Tate says she’s thinking too hard about this so Theresa agrees to stop asking questions but remarks that she’s really glad Tate isn’t going to prom with Holly and she’s so glad that he has moved on. Tate remarks that it’s not like he had a choice. EJ, Holly, and Nicole talk about Nicole’s first story as a reporter. Nicole calls it almost as exciting as being district attorney and the CEO of a major corporation at the same time which EJ calls a balancing act. Nicole brings up the idea of getting away for a weekend to Chicago or New York. Holly says not until after prom but Nicole tells Holly that is not happening as she’s not going to prom.

Chad and Thomas go to the Brady Pub. Julie joins them as Chad wishes her a Happy Mother’s Day and says he’s thrilled she could join them. Thomas tells Julie about visiting Abigail. Julie talks about visiting Alice. Thomas says he can’t wait to move back home. Chad and Julie agree. Julie says Maggie is a wonderful hostess but there’s no place like home. Thomas then surprises Julie with a Mother’s Day gift which he says he and Charlotte made for her to hang in the new house. Julie calls it perfect and thanks him as Chad smiles.

Johnny tells Chanel that having kids in general is going to change the dynamic in any relationship. Chanel worries about their situation. Paulina then shows up, catching them off guard, as she enters with a bag and wishes a Happy Mother’s Day. Chanel questions what she’s doing there and mentions not hearing the doorbell. Paulina says that Harold let her in and reveals she brought soup, crackers, and tea for Chanel. Paulina announces she’s going to make it all herself and asks if she can go through the kitchen. Johnny calls that entirely unnecessary but Paulina insists on taking care of Chanel. Johnny says Chanel is very tired and needs to rest, so he thinks it would just be better if they hung out another time and apologizes. Paulina promises she won’t stay very long and asks if she can just visit for a few minutes but Chanel declares that she rather she not.

Tate asks Theresa if there’s anything new with her and Alex. Theresa says not really so Tate asks if it’s over then. Theresa says she doesn’t know and asks to talk about something else. Holly questions Nicole saying she’s not going to prom. Nicole brings up that last time Holly went to a night time event, she almost died so she would be too worried about her. Nicole reminds Holly that she’s already grounded anyways. Holly informs her that she already has a date named Aaron Greene. Nicole questions who that is. Holly remarks that maybe she’d know if she was more involved in her life. EJ calls that uncalled for but Holly cuts him off and says she wasn’t talking to him. Nicole warns her to watch it and argues that she is involved in her life, accusing her of trying to butter her up with a Mother’s Day speech so she could go to prom. Holly calls it so unfair. EJ suggests they save this until they get home. Holly questions if she’s just going to be grounded forever and asks why Nicole can’t just let her live her life.

Julie calls Thomas the best person she knows and says she’s proud to be his aunt. Thomas says he’s proud of her too. Thomas asks Chad if he can join Roman in the kitchen which Chad allows. Julie comments to Chad that Thomas really looks like him but personality wise, there’s a lot of Abigail in him. Chad says Charlotte is starting to look more like Abigail every day. Julie knows it’s a really difficult day for him. Chad says he misses Abigail every day as it never goes away. Julie talks about missing her son David and the mothering feelings never go away. Julie says she’s very lucky to have grandchildren to love and nurture including Chad’s children and Chad. Chad says they are so lucky to have her and hugs her as he wishes her a Happy Mother’s Day.

Paulina questions Chanel not wanting her. Chanel wants her to stop trying to fix everything and declares that what’s happening to her right now can’t be fixed. Paulina argues they don’t know that. Chanel says that what they do know is that Paulina made the snap decision to leave isolation and expose her to radiation, so now they are dealing with the consequences of that. Paulina complains that she feels terrible about that and her guilt is killing her. Chanel argues that Paulina isn’t going to turn what’s happening to her in to her own personal tragedy. Paulina says she would never but Chanel says she is and that’s why she didn’t want her here. Chanel tells Paulina that she and Johnny need space, so she hopes she can respect that. Paulina says she understands and she’ll show herself out. Paulina puts back the food she brought and exits the mansion as Johnny hugs Chanel.

Holly complains to Nicole about not letting her go to prom, calling it the biggest night of the year that everyone’s going to. Nicole tells Holly that she can go next year but Holly continues to argue with her. Nicole worries that Holly is making a scene. Holly stands up and shouts at Nicole that she really hates her and storms out of the Bistro. EJ tells Nicole to let her go but Nicole says she can’t. Theresa watches Holly go and calls her a drama queen. Tate says she doesn’t always have to comment but Theresa argues that Holly is being obnoxious and rude. Theresa remarks that Tate is so lucky to be rid of her.

Eric and Sloan walk through the town square with Jude. Sloan talks about what a nice morning it’s been. They then see Nicole following Holly out of the Bistro as Holly yells at Nicole to leave her alone. Holly calls Nicole a hypocrite for screwing up her whole life but now she’s living it up in a mansion while she screws up once and gets punished for eternity. Holly declares Nicole to be the worst mom on the planet as they then turn around and see Eric and Sloan.

Chanel cries to Johnny that she just broke her mom’s heart on Mother’s Day so she’s a horrible daughter. Johnny encourages that she stood up for herself and was honest so she did the right thing. Chanel worries about the look on Paulina’s face. Johnny says it’s not like she told her she never wants to see her again, just that she needs space and she does. Chanel hopes that Paulina doesn’t get too worked up about it. Chanel tells herself that Paulina knows she loves her and she’s just going through a lot right now. Chanel adds that since they are being honest, she appreciates Johnny being there and saying all the right things but he hasn’t really told her how he feels about it. Johnny says he thought he did but he’ll tell her again. Johnny tells Chanel that it’s her body and he supports whatever she decides. Johnny adds that they created this baby out of their love for each other and that means a lot to him. Chanel hopes that if everything isn’t okay, that they will be alright because their love will get them through it. Johnny believes that with all his heart as they kiss.

Paulina goes to the park and sits on a bench, praying for God to look over Chanel and her baby. Paulina cries that they did nothing wrong and this is all her fault. Paulina begs for God to let Chanel’s baby be healthy and strong.

Chad calls Julie the glue that keeps the family together and declares that because of her, the Horton legacy will live on. Julie tells him how much that means and cries that having Chad and his kids living in the house has given her and Doug some of the sweetest days of their lives. Chad says they are blessed to have them. Chad talks about Charlotte being really young when Abigail died, so having Julie there meant a lot. Julie promises that they will keep the memory of Abigail alive for the kids as they hug.

Eric approaches Holly and asks what’s going on. Holly responds that Nicole is being a total hypocrite and has a bug up her ass because she made one mistake, arguing that Nicole was never perfect. Nicole says that she never said she was and that this isn’t about her. Eric asks for a few minutes with Holly to give them a chance to cool off. Nicole says she’ll wait right there as Eric takes Holly aside and questions what’s going on. Holly informs him that Nicole won’t let her go to prom and asks Eric to talk to her and tell her she’s making a big deal out of nothing. Eric argues that Holly almost died which isn’t nothing. Holly complains that screwing up once shouldn’t mean she gets locked up for the rest of her life. Eric argues that Nicole is just trying to keep her safe and brings up when his sister Sami was her age but Holly remarks that things are different now and it’s not how it was in the stone ages. Sloan goes over to Nicole, who complains that her daughter shouted in public that she hates her. Sloan asks what happened. Nicole explains that she told her she can’t go to prom because of what happened on New Year’s. Nicole asks if Sloan would do everything she could to prevent it if she knew she could lose her child. Jude wakes up crying, so Sloan asks Nicole to help with him while she gets his bottle ready. EJ comes out from the Bistro and gets a call from Dr. Rolf, who confirms to him that there is no doubt that Jude is Eric and Nicole’s baby. EJ hangs up and declares that he’s more sorry than he knows.

Jordan: I knew it. You need me. You’re not just let me rot in here when I have something that I can offer you. I have a skillset that you need.

Victor: I don’t need you. I’m merely considering my options right now.

Jordan: Okay. Okay. Okay, victor. Then, you tell me. You tell me, okay? Whatever it is, I’ll do it.

Victor: It’ll be at a time of my choosing.

******”**************************

Jordan: Oh, surely. Surely, you don’t doubt my capabilities. My ability to take risks, push the limits. I have a special talent for you. Only I can do… what I can do. You know that. I can smell fear, I can manipulate it, I can weaponize it. Just ask your lovely wife.

Victor: You’re a delusional, vicious bitch. And don’t ever mention Nikki again.

[ Jordan laughs ]

Jordan: Whatever the great and powerful Victor Newman wants. But I think that you want me to do your dirty work. And I think… I’m right. I mean, what is it? My hands are already awash in blood. What’s a little more?

Jack: Okay, I’m not gonna argue this with you. Nikki finally made her own decision about going to rehab.

Victor: And that was up to me to convince her to do that.

Jack: No one decides when or how Nikki gets sober. Only Nikki can get herself there. And she did. Isn’t that what matters?

Victor: And what you did was unconscionable.

Jack: My conscience is clear.

Victor: That only shows me how delusional you are.

Jack: Hold on.

Victor: Is your ego that big and that fragile, you can’t admit that you made a huge mistake?

“******”******************

Jack: My giant ego? Isn’t this about your giant ego and your being shattered that you did not know how far gone Nikki was? Isn’t that why you’re coming after me?

Victor: Don’t you turn this back on me.

Jack: All I care about is that Nikki survived. Had I not stepped in at the rate she was going, she would be drinking herself to death right now. Victor, I know how much you love her. Isn’t that the most important thing? She found the help she needs.

Victor: I want her to become strong and healthy around professionals, not amateurs like you.

Jack: I never claimed to be a professional, merely a friend trying to help someone I care a great deal about.

Victor: You put her life in jeopardy.

Jack: Nikki is okay.

Victor: She was absolutely petrified when you collapsed on that– she called the paramedics for heaven’s sake. You could’ve died!

Nate: Busy, yeah, yeah, I get it. Me too, me too. So, uh, where’s, uh, tucker?

Audra: Hm. I don’t know. Around.

Nate: Ah, well, you two are usually joined at the hip. Hope that means you got wise and kicked him to the curb.

Audra: Oh, well, sorry to disappoint you, but tucker and i are as solid as ever.

Nate: Ah, too bad.

Audra: Is it?

Nate: Isn’t it?

Audra: Well, we’re independent people who do independent things, which i think it’s healthy in a relationship. You should try it sometime.

Nate: Ooh, smack.

Audra: Well, you deserved that.

Nate: Look, look, I didn’t come over here to argue with you, Audra. Um, truth is, I miss our friendship

*****************************************

Alan: Well, I was beginning to wonder after our last visit.

Ashley: I have to apologize for my very unpleasant behavior. It’s living with this family. You know, they’re just picking at me and prodding me. It’s like living under a microscope, you know?

Alan: Yeah, that must be– that must be difficult.

Ashley: Yeah, I have no words for it. But here I am treating you like you’re their guard dog instead of my dear friend. I hope you can forgive me.

Alan: Of course, I forgive you.

Ashley: Okay, ’cause the last thing I want is for you to think that I’m pushing you away.

Alan: Well, not too long ago you did tell me to pack my bags and head off to Vienna.

Ashley: Don’t listen to me. Don’t listen to me at all. No, that was just me in the heat of the moment dealing with horrible siblings that don’t believe anything I say. I mean, I’m not mad at you. Honestly, I feel like you’re the only person in my life I can actually trust.

Alan: I’m very glad to hear that. And I want you to know that I am here to listen to whatever you have on your mind

Nick: He said mom told him that it was just to shake some sense into her. Is that true? It was just about saving my mom and not about you falling off the wagon?

Jack: Nikki had given up. She had no fight left in her. I could not get through to her. At that moment, I would’ve done anything.

Nick: Dad said the paramedics were there. You had passed out.

Jack: Yeah, that part’s a little hazy.

Nick: So, it’s true. You took the pills and sabotaged your own sobriety.

Jack: It was a necessity. Hey, I saw a friend in danger. I went out on a limb. Maybe too far out, but at least it succeeded.

Nick: You know it was crazy, right? It’s a crazy thing to do, Jack. I can’t even wrap my head around a gesture like that.

Jack: I take it you disapprove.

Nick: It’s not my place to judge you. I mean, my mom is finally in rehab and you seem to have made it out the other side. You okay?

Sally: Well, you guys will have to play catch up, now that he knows more than you.

Adam: I just wish it was about video games or soccer moves. But I guess I’ll take it. I can see in his eyes how badly he wants to get better. And I wanna hold onto hope.

Sally: You should. Let him see that.

Adam: I’m not sure what else to do. You know, I feel like an observer in all of this. You know, letting an outsider look after my kid.

Sally: But you feel like Connor feels empowered. Like he has a say in all this.

Adam: Well, he feels like they get him. He’s not alone.

Sally: That’s positive. You know, you’re– you’re feeling your way through this. And so’s connor.

Adam: Yeah. I guess.

Sally: Why do you say it like that?

Adam: Just, I feel like my son is moving on without me. He’s leaving me behind

Sharon: That is the cruelest thing you can say to a child when their parents are their whole world.

Phyllis: Oh, she’s a sick bitch.

Sharon: Phyllis, um, you know, maybe you should rein in your anger a little bit when you’re around Harrison. I know that this is difficult, if not unbearable, but Harrison’s already been through enough stress as it is.

Phyllis: Okay, I’m not clueless. Sharon, I would never talk like that in front of Harrison, but we’re adults here, and it’s very emotional, and I think the entire world would agree with me if they knew what Jordan did to that little boy

***********************************

Phyllis: You’re very good at that. You know, being soothing and talking, even though you’re not in the therapist business anymore.

Sharon: Well, thank you. I’m always happy to help. And if you need any help, someone to talk to…

Phyllis: You?

Sharon: Well, no, not me somebody else.

Phyllis: Yeah, somebody else, of course, I figured.

Sharon: You figured, right?

Phyllis: Yeah, that would be crazy. When my doctor gave me Breztri for my COPD

Sharon: I, uh, I know how much summer means to you.

Phyllis: Yes, it’s just– it’s hard when she’s upset and I can’t do anything to fix it.

Sharon: Well, I can imagine how worried you must’ve been about summer and Harrison. Um, but everyone is safe now. And from what I can tell, summer has turned out to be a great mother.

Ashley: Go ahead. Why don’t you tell that story?

Alan: No, I think you would do it justice.

Ashley: Well, damn. Nobody told me there was gonna be a pop quiz.
