Anita had insecurities about her voice so she turned down Sharon’s request to join her and Tracy at the Jazz Fest. Vernon tried to change her mind. Anita showed him how off her voice was since the chemo. Eva interrupted Kat’s conversation with Izaiah. She kissed Izaiah in front of Kat. Eva told Kat that she was with Tomas. After Kat left, Izaiah told Eva about the work Kat and Chelsea put into ChelseaKat. Eva wanted to know why he was singing Kat’s praises. Izaiah said he was impressed with her business ethic. He assured Eva that she was good too. Smitty showed up during Chelsea and Kat’s meeting to let them know that he was assigned to write a story about the fashion industry. He asked them about a few brands that a whistleblower told him about. One of the brands was the person they were meeting in Tokyo. Dani showed up and told Chelsea and Kat to avoid the scandal. Naomi showed up to let them know that there was a clause in their contract which allowed them to end their partnership if the scandal went public. Since nothing happened, Naomi suggested that they shouldn’t trash the company publicly.
After hearing Hayley’s call, Bill followed her to Uptown. He saw her meet with Randy. Hayley told Randy that she needed more of the serum because she put the last bit of it in Bill’s salad. Bill thought about Naomi telling him that Hayley was cheating on him. Randy gave Hayley the vial. Elon and Jacob talked about Lia Whitmore getting killed in her cell. It looked like she overdosed, but Jacob thought The Impaler did It. Randy talked to Joey about the Impaler and thought she got to Lia too. Joey wanted Randy to keep quiet about it. Smitty met up with Jacob. He told Smitty about his suspicions of The Impaler. Smitty said he met with Lia the day before and she seemed desperate. Jacob told Smitty to watch his back since he helped bring down the plasma ring. Joey wanted Heather to tell him what happened with Lia. Heather said Lia was less trouble dead. She blamed him for what happened since he wouldn’t let he deal with Smitty. Joey said he was afraid that she was going to leave a trail of bodies which would lead the police to his door. Heather said this death would make people think twice about snitching. Elon showed up and asked what Joey knew about The Impaler.
