Our Opinions
5 Reasons why Sonny and Nina in Nixon Falls Is a Good Story By Suzanne
I just started watching the show again after an absence of a few years. It’s not that I intentionally stopped watching…I just watch a lot of TV and fell behind. I was slowly, ever so slowly, catching up, but I’m still back in 2018. I’ve decided to try to watch the new ones so that I can edit our daily GH Transcripts and write some of the GH Updates while our regular writer Anthony catches up on past episodes. He’s behind, too. It’s so easy to fall behind in these busy times. The pandemic slowed some people down, but for those of us who worked at home (as well as essential workers and others), we never slowed down.
Even though I haven’t watched many episodes in the past 3 years, I do still regularly read the GH news and spoilers, and I read other fans’ posts about it on Twitter and Facebook, so I know what’s been going on.
I know that a lot of fans are not happy with the fact that Sonny has been stuck in a small town with amnesia, away from his friends and family (who think he’s dead). It’s not usually a good idea to stick one or two characters off on their own for too long because the fun of a soap is seeing everyone in the cast interact. I’m not saying I’m a huge fan of Nina and Sonny’s “romance,” but here are a few good reasons to have this story.
#1 It keeps Maurice Benard happy. He’s the star of the show, as we were reminded recently when the shows EP said it. He obviously wanted to do something different than playing the same mob boss every day. It’s good to keep him happy so he doesn’t decide to retire. I know that not everyone loves him, but he’s very popular, so I do believe the show would suffer without him. Even though they had to create a different town and set of characters, I give them props for doing a pretty good job of it. Lenny and Phyllis are very likable. Maybe Maurice just got tired of wearing suits every day….he might be enjoying wearing those blue collar shirts. 😉
#2 It was a good choice for the Cyrus storyline because getting Sonny out of the way created a lot of problems for the other people in Port Charles, and they had to band together to get rid of him.
#3 It’s forcing Jason and Carly together. Now, most of us don’t really want to see them in a romantic relationship at this point. It’s been too long since they were together (1996, to be exact). They’re great friends, and they shouldn’t screw that up. I believe the writers are only putting them together to create more conflict for Jason and Britt (not to mention, Jason and Sam) as well as making it worse for Sonny’s eventual return. Hopefully, Jason and Carly won’t actually sleep together. Thank goodness she’s too old to get pregnant, too. Well, never say never in Soap Land…
#4 Having one of the characters leave town, lose their memory, and then everyone thinks he’s dead… that’s a soap trope by now. In fact, Sonny did something similar years ago when he was stabbed and nursed back to health by Angel (who was really boring). Micky Horton on Days did it way back in 1973. Victor on Y&R has done it a few times. It happened to Tad on All My Children, too. Those story memories are just off the top of my head, so I’m sure there are many more examples.
#5 The eventual reveal will be great – when Sonny gets his memory back and finds out that Nina kept his existence a secret from his family. I’m sure Carly will have a few slaps to give, too. With a real mobster, Nina would be dead from that kind of thing, but Sonny rarely kills anyone, so most likely Nina will just be persona non grata for a while around Port Charles. It would be really great if Sonny just forgave her because he still loves her, but I’m not going to hold my breath. Will Jason and Carly be sleeping together by then? Maybe. There will be a long list of people just waiting to yell at Nina (or worse).
The only thing I don’t like about this story is that Nina is the perpetual victim. She always makes the worst choices when it comes to love: Valentin, Franco, Jax and now a married mobster. Soap characters often have these problems, but hers seem to be worst than most. She was in a coma for 12 years because her evil mother put her there to steal her money, and she stole her baby, too. She can’t have more children, and the one she did have was dead by the time she learned about her.
It’s not only too sad to have her go through so many horrible love affairs, but it makes her look really dumb to keep making such poor decisions. This time it’s not just her romantic heart on the line, but she’ll probably also have a hard time getting permission to see grandson Wiley again, too. It’s great for Cynthia Watros because she’s outstanding in the role, but I just wish that Nina would have a nice, fun fling once in a while.
Most people hate change, but life – and daytime drama – is all about change. Fans want their favorite couples to stay together forever, and that’s just not what these shows are about. I can’t wait for the fireworks when Nina is found out!

General Hospital Updates

Update written by Suzanne
Sonny phones Nina to let her know that he’s at a New York hospital with Lenny and Phyllis. They need her because Lenny has a tumor. She panics at first when he says “New York,” worried that he might be in Port Charles. She is shocked to hear about Lenny and immediately offers to help out. He tells her they’re going back to Nixon Falls, so she’ll meet them there and help Lenny pay for any cancer treatments he might need. Sonny tells her that he misses her. Nina is spending time with Wiley but tells Willow that she has to leave for a while to help her friends. She wonders if Willow and Chase might want to have more children, but Willow admits they haven’t really talked about it. When Nina mentions Mike, Willow says she hopes to meet him one day. Nina tells her that Wiley is the only man in her life right now.
Lenny and Phyllis sit in the waiting room at the hospital and reminisce about their first meeting, when he was finishing. Sonny arrives and lets them know that Nina will be meeting them and that she’ll pay for any treatment Lenny needs. He objects, but Sonny tells him that they owe him a lot, and his life and health are more important than his pride. Sonny’s voice breaks when he pledges that they’ll fight the cancer together. Lenny gets called in to see the doctor, so Sonny consoles Phyllis.
Valentin and Anna hang out at Ryan’s Bar (ha!), waiting for the helicopter pilot that supposedly helped Peter escape with Maxie’s baby. The man comes in, so Anna goes over and makes small talk with him. He starts talking about his dead sister, but then he realizes that Anna is a bit too interested. He tries to get rough with her, but Valentin slams him down on the bar. They question him about what happened. He tells them that he never picked up Peter because he couldn’t get close enough to the roof of General Hospital. Anna wonders where Peter went, then.
Brook Lynn takes baby Louise/Bailey to GH to get a checkup. She’s arranged for Maxie to casually run into them as well, so she she can say goodbye to her daughter. Austin walks up to say hi, but Brook Lynn tells him to go away. She’s suspicious that he’s not really a Quartermaine. He seems mildly amused at her attitude. While Brook Lynn takes the baby in to the doctor, Maxie asks Austin about his background. He tells her that his parents were Jimmy Lee Holt and Charity Gatlin. She knows all about them from reading Lucy Coe’s book, and Edward’s unauthorized biography. Austin is surprised to hear that Maxie is leaving town, so she confides that being around little Bailey when she misses her own daughter has been too difficult for her. When Brook Lynn returns, Maxie demands to know why she didn’t tell her that Austin was her cousin. She’s worried that he’ll remember that her baby didn’t get kidnapped, but Brook Lynn assures her that he won’t. In a sad scene, Maxie says goodbye to Louise.
Meanwhile, Nikolas and Spencer are chatting at a table at the Metro Court about Cassadine Industries. Nikolas sees Ava and takes her aside to tell her that the fastest divorce they can get is a “no fault divorce,” which will take two weeks. She’s not happy to hear that it will take that long, and she’s worried about Avery. Nikolas gets a little suspicious when Spencer mentions a detail about Ava’s stalker. Spencer tells him that it was posted by someone on social media. Spencer keeps needling Nikolas about Ava.
Ava and Austin run into each other at the Metro Court bar and catch up. She tells him that she and Nikolas are getting divorced. He’s sympathetic. He can tell that she and Nikolas are pretending to ignore each other but still keep looking over at each other. She tells him about the stalker and about why Avery is with Carly. He says it’s a shame whenever parents are separated from their child. When he inadvertently mentions Maxie losing her child (in comparison to Ava being away from Avery), she gets a bit annoyed, saying it’s not the same thing.
Josslyn and Trina are hanging out at the Metro Court pool. Trina just got off the phone with Spencer, whom she knows only as Victor. She has sympathy for him because he grew up without a mom. Josslyn tells her that she and Cam kissed on the Fourth of July. Trina tells her that she could tell they were together, but she’s not mad because she’s no longer interested in Cam. Josslyn is relieved. Cam was with the girls but then went to get drinks so they could chat. After he comes back, he’s rubbing lotion on Josslyn’s back when Spencer arrives, calling him a “townie,” like old times. They’re shocked when they look up to see that Spencer has grown so tall.

General Hospital Transcript

Transcript provided by and proofread by Suzanne
Sonny: I know you’re busy. I didn’t mean to bother you. I just — I didn’t really want to make this call.
Nina: Mike, what’s wrong?
Sonny: We need you. Lenny, Phyllis, and me. Is there any way you can come home?
Nina: I don’t understand. What’s going on?
Sonny: I promised Lenny back in Nixon Falls that I wasn’t gonna say anything.
Nina: Wait, back in Nixon Falls? Where are you?
Sonny: We’re all in New York.
Nina: New York?
Valentin: Thank you. We’re hanging in an Irish bar. I’m not drinking a domestic beer.
Anna: Oh, god. Is it warm?
Valentin: Oh, yeah.
Anna: [ Scoffs ] Did you get anything else from the bartender?
Valentin: That the nurse at New York Methodist is right. The medevac pilot, he’s a regular here.
Anna: Okay. So when he gets here —
Valentin: I know, I know. Subtle. It’s your show.
Anna: Yes. It is. Because right now, this — this could be the way to track Peter down and maybe find Maxie’s baby.
Brook Lynn: Hi, Deanna. Bailey and I are here for her checkup.
Deanna: Why, hello, Bailey.
Brook Lynn: [ Chuckles ]
Deanna: Are you extra pretty today? [ Chuckles ] I can’t decide who she looks like — you or Mr. Cassadine.
Brook Lynn: You know babies. One minute they look just like you, and the next they’re a dead ringer for Winston Churchill.
Deanna: I’ll see if the doctors are ready for you.
Brook Lynn: Great. Thanks.
Maxie: Brook Lynn.
Brook Lynn: Uh, what are you doing here?
Maxie: I hope everything’s okay with Bailey.
Brook Lynn: Oh, yeah, just a checkup. Look who’s here, Bailey.
Maxie: Thank you for arranging this meet-up.
Brook Lynn: Yeah, of course. You said it was your last chance to see her before you have to leave. And with Monica working from home, today was our best shot.
Maxie: Oh, yeah. The last thing I need is another gentle conversation with Monica about my fixation on “your” baby.
Austin: As I live and breathe. What are you two up to?
Josslyn: Was that your mystery man?
Trina: Don’t know why I gave that guy my number. I guess I felt sorry for him.
Josslyn: Oh? And what did he do to deserve your pity?
Trina: It’s not pity. Victor — he grew up without a mom. There’s something lost and lonely about him.
Josslyn: You like him.
Trina: Yeah. Same way I like stray puppies.
Nikolas: So, anyway, that is what’s happening with Cassadine industries. Are you sure this isn’t boring?
Spencer: I find it all fascinating. I especially love seeing you back in charge.
Nikolas: I’m flattered, but I have to ask, shouldn’t you be spending time with friends?
Spencer: I plan to, but right now, there’s no place I’d rather be.
Nikolas: Back at you, son. I feel exactly the same way.
Spencer: Even if it means your wife isn’t part of it?
Nina: Uh, wait, where in New York?
Sonny: Uh, somewhere in Manhattan. New York Methodist hospital. Lenny is sick.
Nina: Oh, no. How sick?
Sonny: It’s bad. He, uh… he doesn’t have much time. He needs you. I need you.
Brook Lynn: How is what we’re doing any of your business?
Maxie: Brook Lynn!
Austin: I was just —
Brook Lynn: Oh, you just figured because you claim to be my family, which, by the way, we’ve heard a thousand times before, that somehow my business is now your business?
Austin: Really?
Brook Lynn: Okay, well, it isn’t. Maxie and I were just talking, so you can run along. Shoo. Don’t let my footwear hit you in the butt on the way out.
Austin: How’s my former patient?
Deanna: The doctor is ready to see Bailey.
Brook Lynn: Thanks, Deanna. Excuse me. Private family business.
Maxie: Um, so you and Brook Lynn are related? How did I miss that?
Austin: I don’t even know where to begin.
Maxie: How about why you left your cozy country practice to join the staff here? Let’s start there.
Austin: Okay, well… Maxie, you of all people know just how quickly life can change.
Josslyn: So, tell me more about Victor.
Trina: Uh, he’s excessively fond of the park. How about you tell me what I missed on the Fourth after I took off?
Josslyn: You’re deflecting.
Trina: You’re right. I am. Glad you got that. Did you and cam do anything besides stay and watch the fireworks?
Josslyn: Actually, I’ve been waiting for the right moment to tell you.
Trina: Tell me what? Please, no. “Please, no” what? Please, no you and Cam. Don’t tell me you guys are at it again.
Nikolas: Ava, join us, please.
Ava: No, no, I don’t — I don’t want to intrude. Besides, we’ve — we’ve said everything that we need to say at Wyndemere.
Nikolas: T-that’s not quite true. I have something to tell you that’s gonna affect us and our future.
Sonny: So, what happened was we came here, um, for a second opinion on Lenny’s heart. And… instead, they found a tumor.
Nina: A tumor? Well, I wish I would have known. I would have dropped everything to be there.
Sonny: That’s why Lenny didn’t want me to tell you, ’cause he didn’t, you know, want to interrupt you with your grandson.
Nina: Well, as it happens, I’m with him right now. And his mother.
Sonny: As you should be. I’m gonna let you go, okay?
Nina: No, no, Mike, she’s helping Wiley get ready. I have a lot of time. I can talk to you.
Sonny: Nina, listen, there’s one thing I need to ask you, and I hate to ask you, and I know Lenny would hate that I’m asking you.
Nina: Well, you don’t need to ask. Cancer treatments cost a fortune. I would love to help.
Anna: Okay, so if our Mr. Hopkins makes a move, or he heads for the exit —
Valentin: He’s not getting past me.
Anna: Yes, but subtle. He’s — oh, I think we’re a go.
Hopkins: The usual. Thank you.
Anna: Oh, I just don’t have any bars in here at all. It’s like — do you have service? Hmm.
Hopkins: Let me take a shot. Mm… you’re from London.
Anna: Oh, wow, you’re good. For an American.
Maxie: I was surprised to learn that you had moved to Port Charles. You seemed so at home in Pautuck where you delivered my baby in the woods. Thank you again for that.
Austin: Oh, right time, right place. Just wish I could have been able to stop whoever took your baby. Any word about little Louise?
Maxie: No, not yet. Um, anyway, we were talking about you. No evading this time. How exactly are you related to Brook Lynn?
Austin: She’s my cousin.
Maxie: Oh, don’t tell me you’re a Quartermaine.
Austin: Guilty as charged.
Maxie: Oh, first thing you need to know about that family — never admit guilt unless you already know you’re getting away with it.
Austin: Getting away with what?
Maxie: Mm, doesn’t matter. So back to how you’re related to Brook Lynn.
Austin: My full name is Austin Gatlin-Holt. My mother was Charity Gatlin.
Maxie: Oh, that — what? That makes your father Jimmy Lee Holt, one of Edward Quartermaine’s illegitimate children.
Austin: How’d you know that?
Maxie: It’s all in Lucy Coe’s book, “The Travel Guide to Port Charles.”
Austin: [ Chuckles ] That’s a thing?
Maxie: Yeah, you can buy it online.
Austin: Oh.
Maxie: It’s also in Edward’s unauthorized biography. So, how are your parents, anyway?
Austin: Well, my father died about six months ago.
Maxie: Oh, my god. I’m so sorry. Wait, so is that why you’re here in Port Charles? To connect with your family?
Austin: Yeah. Why? You thought I was here for some other reason?
Cameron: Hey, guys. Am I butting in on some girl talk?
Josslyn: Oh, no, actually, Trina and i were just talking about the Fourth of July.
Cameron: Best day ever.
Trina: The Fourth? Really? Not birthdays or Christmas?
Cameron: What about them?
Nikolas: Spencer, would you excuse us for a moment?
Spencer: Gladly. Whatever the two of you need to, um…
Nikolas: Stay put. I-I won’t be long. I’ve spoken to Martin. He’s suggesting something called a “no-fault divorce.”
Ava: Okay. What do we have to do?
Nikolas: Both parties have to agree that our marriage has “broken down irrevocably” for at least six months.
Ava: And you’ll agree to that?
Nikolas: If that’s what you want. But it will take at least six weeks to be finalized.
Ava: Six weeks?
Nikolas: It’s the quickest option we have.
Ava: No, I — it’s just that the stalker can do a lot of damage in six weeks.
Nikolas: I’ll make sure that the bodyguard is ever present and out of sight, just like he is today.
Ava: What about Avery?
Nikolas: Avery is safe with Carly.
Ava: For another six weeks. But okay. A no-fault divorce it is. And the sooner our lawyers get started on it, the better for everyone.
Lenny: I was fishing in the river.
Phyllis: I remember.
Lenny: When my line got tangled.
Phyllis: You were so mad.
Lenny: And I lost the flathead I’d been trying to catch. And then I heard you laughing.
Phyllis: [ Laughs ] Because it was funny.
Lenny: Not to me, it wasn’t.
Phyllis: I could see that, too.
Lenny: I was about to give whoever was laughing what for. Then I looked and saw you.
Phyllis: Mm, and you forgot about that fish.
Lenny: Now, you know that’s not how this story goes.
[ Both laugh ]
Phyllis: I would like it to go that way just once.
Lenny: The story is not as good if I’m not mad at you about rooting for the fish.
Phyllis: You got a point there.
Lenny: And why were you rooting for the fish?
Phyllis: Because I always root for the underdog.
Lenny: I was the underdog. That fish had the upper hand, and it doesn’t even have hands.
Phyllis: When I asked what you’re gonna do when you caught that fish, you said “bring him in, weigh him, throw him back, and catch him again.” That’s how I knew you had respect for life and much more patience than anyone could ever guess.
Lenny: Don’t tell anybody.
Phyllis: Your secret’s safe with me.
Lenny: [ Chuckles ]
Anna: So, I-I’m new in town, you know — oh, thank you. Big Apple. [ Chuckles ] Does anybody call it that anymore?
Hopkins: No.
Anna: No, I didn’t think so. Can be quite intimidating, you know. I mean, unless you have somebody that can, uh, show you the ropes.
Hopkins: You get used to it.
Anna: Are you a newcomer as well?
Hopkins: You could say that.
Anna: Oh, something that we have in common. So, what brought you here? Um…a job, a-a new life? Trying to reinvent yourself?
Hopkins: Trying to forget.
Anna: Ah. A woman.
Hopkins: Sort of. My sister. She’s, uh… she’s dead.
Anna: I’m sorry.
Hopkins: Thanks.
Anna: Well, I guess… something else we have in common. My sister died recently as well.
Sonny: Thanks, Nina. I-I knew you’d want to help.
Nina: Of course I want to help. Thank you for asking me.
Sonny: Now we just got to convince Lenny and Phyllis to accept.
Nina: Yeah. Yeah. Well, this is Lenny’s life that we are talking about. Of course I would always help. And pride be damned. After all the kindness that Phyllis and Lenny have shown me, I want to do something for them in return.
Sonny: They’ll be very happy, eventually.
Nina: Well, you’re just gonna have to convince them.
Sonny: After they give me hell for calling you in the first place.
[ Both laugh ]
Nina: So I could probably get a plane ticket to New York tonight.
Sonny: No, you don’t have to do that ’cause we’re heading — we’re heading home tomorrow.
Nina: Okay, great. Well, then I’ll see you in Nixon Falls tomorrow. In the meantime, if there is anything else that you need…
Sonny: Just you. I mean, you know what I mean.
Nina: No. I know what you mean, Mike. I miss you, too.
Willow: Somebody can’t wait to hit the water.
Nina: Just — just one second, okay?
Willow: Take your time. We’ll be outside.
Nina: No, uh, you don’t have to — you don’t have to go anywhere. Just one second, okay? Um, hey, I-I should run. The man of my dreams just walked in.
Sonny: Competition, huh? I know who’s gonna win this round. I’ll see you later.
Nina: Yeah, just give Phyllis and Lenny my love, okay? And, um, remember, don’t take no for an answer.
Sonny: Done and done.
Nina: Goodbye.
Willow: Sorry for interrupting.
Nina: Are you kidding? Your timing — it was perfect. It was perfect. Hey, Wiley. May I?
Willow: Yeah.
Nina: Wiley is just the medicine that I need. How are you, my man? I am so blessed to have you in my life.
Willow: Nina, what’s wrong? Bad news or…?
Nina: It’s, um — I found out a friend of mine is — is sick. And so just when Wiley and i are getting to know each other again… …I’m gonna have to leave him.
Maxie: Well, um, good luck with the Quartermaines. I really wish I could be around to see the fireworks.
Austin: Why won’t you be around? You going someplace?
Maxie: It’s been difficult to see Brook Lynn with her baby. She’s been very nice about it and has been letting me spend time with Bailey. We both thought it would help, but —
Austin: But every time you see Bailey, you see Louise.
Maxie: You have no idea. Hey, how was Bailey’s checkup?
Brook Lynn: My little angel passed with flying colors. So, did I miss anything?
Austin: Just tragedy. Miss Maxie’s leaving as soon as I’m getting settled into town. Best of luck.
Maxie: Yeah, you too. I think maybe you’ll need it more than I will.
Austin: That might be the case. Bye, cuz. I’ll see you when I see you. Unless you see me first.
Brook Lynn: Okay, spill. What does he know?
Maxie: More than I do. How come you didn’t tell me he was your cousin?
Trina: You know what would be totally fun and awesome to do right now?
Cameron: Go for a dip in the pool?
Josslyn: Yeah, I’m in.
Trina: No, this is even better. Let’s look at our classes.
Josslyn: Right now?
Cameron: I mean, we have all summer to do that, Trina. The pool, it’s like —
Trina: Is the pool going anywhere, Cam?
Cameron: Well, no.
Trina: But we are. To PCU. Oh, did you know that you can shop for your classes? Sit in on whatever you like, and then decide whether you want to take it or not? Isn’t that wild?
Josslyn: Yeah.
Trina: Like this humanities program. It says here this course presents readings from various countries and cultures. And I think we could all agree we could all use more exposure to other people. Or have you guys already decided what you want?
Cameron: Pretty much.
Josslyn: Cam, could you, uh, go get us something from the bar?
Cameron: Sure.
Josslyn: Thanks.
Trina: Well?
Josslyn: Do you remember when we vowed to never, ever let a boy come in between us?
Trina: Yeah, I remember. Why?
Josslyn: Well, first off, I need you to trust me when I tell you that that is still true.
Ava: Spencer is looking a little antsy. You shouldn’t keep him waiting any longer. Thank you for the update. And… just have Martin call Scott, okay?
Nikolas: Ava.
Ava: Broken down irrevocably. Remember?
Spencer: I’m sorry this is upsetting you, but maybe it’s better this way.
Nikolas: Better how?
Spencer: Ava might not be my favorite person, but if someone is trying to freak her out with something like a cockroach in Plexiglas…
Nikolas: How do you know about that?
Anna: What was your sister’s name?
Hopkins: Marie. My baby sister. Just a few years younger than me. Such a beautiful girl. And so smart. Too smart for her own good.
Anna: How so?
Hopkins: She was a risk-taker. Could… get herself into trouble. This time, she died doing the right thing, trying to save a baby.
Anna: Oh. She was a hero, then.
Hopkins: Mother was trying to run off with the kid, keep her from the dad. What kind of person does that?
Anna: I don’t know. So your sister, she rescued this baby from the mother and… what, gave her to the father?
Hopkins: Well, like I said, she tried, but… never got the chance. She fell, literally fell into a hole and… wait a second. What’s it to you?
Anna: Nothing. I’m just lending an ear.
Hopkins: No. Something’s going on here. Who the hell are you?
Sonny: Can I come in?
Lenny: Of course.
Phyllis: We’ve been wondering where you’ve been.
Sonny: Well, I just — I talked to the doctor and I told them to get started while I talked to you. We need to get a-a jump on fighting this thing.
Lenny: Well, thanks for taking charge, but —
Phyllis: But there’s no way we can afford it.
Sonny: Now, listen. You don’t have to worry about that. We — we got this.
Lenny: Who’s “we”?
Phyllis: You called Nina, didn’t you?
Wiley: [ Speaks indistinctly ]
Nina: Yeah, my friend in Nixon Falls. Not the one I was talking to, but another friend, he was just diagnosed with cancer.
Willow: Oh, my god.
Nina: Yeah, and if they don’t throw everything at it, then…
Willow: Of course you’d want to go to them. Look, Wiley will be disappointed about missing your pool date, but if you have to go —
Nina: No, no, no. I don’t have to miss the pool day. I-I want to spend as much time as I possibly can with this little guy. Mike is gonna take care of things on their end, and he’s gonna keep me posted.
Willow: I think I like this Mike person.
Wiley: Look at this red thing.
Willow: Yeah, look at that. Maybe we’ll get to meet him someday.
Wiley: It’s broken.
Nina: Well, the only man in my life right now is my grandson.
Josslyn: There we were, thinking about everything we got wrong. I mean, all of the signals that had gotten crossed or misinterpreted. And then we were… well, you know, it was… yeah.
Trina: Well, Joss, I have to say, I’m a bit shocked.
Josslyn: Trina —
Trina: Shocked that it took you guys so long.
Josslyn: Wait, so you knew?
Trina: When you and Cam were at my graduation party, I thought you guys were acting a bit different, but I didn’t want to say anything.
Josslyn: So you’re not mad.
Trina: Why would I be mad that my two best friends finally wised up and realized that they’re meant to be together?
Josslyn: Well, because for a while, you and Cam —
Trina: Joss, please. That is so high school. We’ve matured since then. We’re four years away from being college graduates.
Josslyn: So you’re genuinely happy for me and Cam?
Trina: I’m happy for Cam. I feel nothing but pity for you.
[ Both chuckle ]
Cameron: Hey, so I got us some Shirley Temples. We can get sodas anywhere, so… a-are we good here?
[ Both laugh ]
Brook Lynn: I didn’t tell you Austin claims to be my cousin because I don’t know if it’s true. Quartermaines get pretenders all the time. And we all were quite shocked when he made his big announcement… except Monica. I swear, that woman, she has ice in her veins.
Maxie: Okay, well, can she give me a transfusion? ‘Cause I’m kind of freaking out right now that Austin’s gonna recognize you from that night in the woods. He could blow our whole story wide open.
Brook Lynn: Maxie, we have been over this. Austin was completely unconscious in the woods. He doesn’t remember a thing. And how do I know this? Because he’s already seen me quite a few times and hasn’t made the connection.
Maxie: Doesn’t mean he won’t.
Brook Lynn: He’s way too busy trying to vindicate his late father to pay attention to anything else. Don’t worry about Austin, Maxie. He might be a minor problem for the Quartermaines, but not for your baby.
Austin: Hi. Can I get a rye Manhattan on the rocks, please? Hello.
Ava: Hi. Austin.
Austin: Hi, Ava.
Ava: [ Chuckles ]
Austin: You remember me. That’s a good sign.
Ava: Oh, yeah. Well, I may have been, shall we say, “spirited” the night we met, but I was not unconscious. It’s nice to see you again.
Austin: Likewise. I’m glad to see you. I’m glad it’s not an unhappy reunion. So, your husband’s here. You two are still doing that thing.
Ava: What thing exactly?
Austin: You know, where you try and prove to yourself and everybody else that you belong apart by showing up at the same time at the same place. How’s that working out for you?
Nikolas: Stop trying to change the subject. How did you know about the cockroach that was sent to Ava? You were half a world away.
Spencer: It happened at a restaurant. Some customer posted it online and people freaked out and it blew up on social media. And I saw it.
Nikolas: Did it? Can I see?
Spencer: You could have at the time. I think someone from the Port Charles Grill got in contact with the poster and had it wiped. It’s not there anymore.
Nikolas: Is that right?
Spencer: I’m kind of glad, too. It was disgusting. I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy. Not even Ava.
Ava: You would know that everybody runs into each other at the Metro Court. I mean, there are other restaurants, of course.
Spencer: Father.
Nikolas: Hmm.
Spencer: Don’t.
Nikolas: I don’t know what you mean.
Spencer: Except clearly you do. Maybe it’s time to turn the page. It certainly looks like Ava has.
Anna: I just was pointing out that we both lost sisters recently.
Hopkins: Why are you so interested in my sister? What the hell is this?
Valentin: Move and I break your wrist.
Anna: Oi, this isn’t subtle.
Bartender: Hey!
Valentin: No?
Bartender: I don’t know who the hell —
Valentin: NYPD! Go clean some glasses! Apologize to the lady.
Anna: Stay where you are.
Hopkins: I’m sorry.
Valentin: You gonna talk now, flyboy?
Hopkins: Fine, I’ll talk. What do you want to know?
Anna: I want to know about the baby that your sister helped kidnap and the father, Peter August.
Brook Lynn: Okay, hurry up and say your goodbyes before somebody sees us and tells Monica. I hate gossip.
Maxie: You live for gossip.
Brook Lynn: Yeah, about other people. Start talking.
Maxie: I know you’re not gonna remember this, but it’s okay. I will. I’m gonna remember your sweet little face, your tiny little fingers, and that brand-new baby smell. I’m gonna remember this moment and take it all the way to Texas with me. You know, they say things are bigger in Texas. That means I’m gonna miss you that much more. Love you that much more. And be your mommy that much more.
Brook Lynn: I hate to do this —
Maxie: I know. Time’s up. I won’t say goodbye to her. I can’t.
Ava: I’m so sorry.
Austin: Why?
Ava: I’m mortified. F-f-for the other night.
Austin: Oh, don’t be. No, it was fun.
Ava: It was fun?
Austin: Yeah, it was fun. I’m from a small town. It’s quiet. Not much happens in Pautuck. For me to be a-a part of a public matrimonial drama, that’s a big night out. [ Chuckles ] It’s like diving in the deep end.
Ava: Mm, off the deep end, I think.
[ Both laugh ]
Austin: So, how are things with you two?
Ava: Divorce. We’re — we’re getting divorced.
Austin: Sorry to hear that. Some differences are irreconcilable.
Ava: Actually, it’s a matter of life and death.
Spencer: It seems like your wife has found a friend.
Nikolas: I don’t know. Last time I saw her with that guy —
Spencer: This isn’t the first time? Interesting.
Nikolas: Spencer, don’t.
Spencer: Don’t what? State the obvious.
Nikolas: Don’t try to stir things up.
Spencer: Sorry. Old habits. Ah, speaking of which, you should kick this one.
Nikolas: Ava is not a habit. She’s the woman that I love.
Spencer: Well, she’s awfully interested in that guy at the bar.
Nikolas: They’re just talking. No big deal.
Spencer: Yes. Well, [Clears throat] I am gonna take off.
Nikolas: You don’t have to go, do you?
Spencer: You’re preoccupied.
Nikolas: [ Sighs ] I’m sorry.
Spencer: It’s alright. I-I really do have somewhere to be. I’ll see you at home, Father. Father, I can’t help wondering…
Nikolas: Yeah?
Spencer: …If Ava and company are having a real conversation, maybe it’s a bigger deal than you think.
Cameron: So, you told her.
Josslyn: Oh, she already knew. Apparently, we were the only ones who didn’t.
Trina: Don’t think this changes anything, Cam. Sisters before misters always. Capiche?
Cameron: I totally get that. I’m just wondering if those same rules apply to your imaginary friend.
Trina: He’s not imaginary, Cam.
Cameron: Okay, well, then how come we haven’t seen his Instagram or a single photo of him?
Trina: Because some people prefer not to have a social media presence, Cam. Right now, I don’t blame him. If you’ll excuse me, I left my cover-up in the changing room.
Cameron: Trina, I was just joking. Did i put my foot in it again?
Josslyn: What else is new?
Cameron: Us.
Josslyn: Yeah, I guess we are.
Willow: I promise to post lots of pictures of Wiley so the next time you see him in person, you won’t be too surprised by how much he’s grown.
Nina: Alright, I’ll hold you to that. And I hope next time I see you that Chase is back on his feet.
Willow: We all want that.
Nina: And maybe you guys can start thinking about a little brother or sister for Wiley. If that’s any of my business, which I don’t think it is my business.
Willow: [ Chuckles ] It’s fine. We just — we haven’t really thought about that yet.
Nina: Okay. Yeah. You know, Chase is probably — I know he will be a really great dad and you’re already a wonderful mother. I just hope that you get exactly what you want. My fingers are crossed.
Willow: Thanks. And hey, you never know. If you and Carly can start to get along, anything’s possible.
Sonny: Never leave me behind again.
Nina: I won’t.
Willow: Nina? Did I say something wrong?
Sonny: I’m sorry, Lenny. I broke my promise, reached out to Nina. She’s coming back to Nixon Falls.
Lenny: I wish to hell you hadn’t done that. As if this disease hasn’t cost us enough, n-now it’s gonna cost Nina precious time with her grandson.
Phyllis: Nina can make her own decisions. And since we’re all being open and honest, I’m glad you called her. And I know as much as she wants to be with her grandson, we need all the love we can get right now.
Sonny: She’s offering more than love, Lenny.
Lenny: No way.
Sonny: Why not?
Lenny: I won’t take one dime of her money.
Sonny: This is not about keeping the tan-o afloat or paying your utility bills. This is your life. It’s more important than your pride or — or a bank account.
Lenny: I don’t want to be indebted to anybody.
Sonny: Yeah, but listen. Nina and I, w-we owe you gu– we love you. You’ve given us so much. You’re gonna let us repay our debt. [ Voice breaking ] We’re gonna fight this cancer together. You got it?
Hopkins: [ Groans ] I-I swear, I don’t know what happened to the baby. It was my job to pick up the father.
Valentin: The father Peter August?
Hopkins: Yeah. I was gonna fly him to the rendezvous point, pick up my sister, the baby, and the mother, and take them wherever he told me to.
Anna: Which was where?
Hopkins: Everything was need-to-know. He was very clear he’d give me the new destination when we were back in the air.
Anna: Okay, so you were hired to pick up Peter from the roof of General Hospital. After you picked him up, where did you take him?
Hopkins: I didn’t!
Austin: A stalker? That’s horrible. And — and you feel somehow that the stalker is forcing you toward divorce?
Ava: Yes. But we do what we must do for the sake of our children, right? And in my case, that means handing my daughter over to Carly Corinthos for safekeeping.
Austin: Oh, I just met her. She seems nice. Friend of yours?
Ava: No. No, she was married to my daughter’s father. And if I’m being honest, my daughter is… [ Sighs ] She’s happy there and she’s safe.
Austin: It’s just awful. Parents separated from a child.
Ava: It is indeed.
Austin: I mean, I don’t know firsthand, but I’m just thinking about Maxie Jones and her baby.
Ava: Well, that’s not the same thing. That’s not the same thing at all.
[ Cellphone rings ]
Nikolas: Yes, Martin. Yes, I told her. She says a lot can happen in six weeks. No, I’m not holding out hope that she’ll change her mind. I’m hoping that the stalker will slip up and we can bring him to justice of the Cassadine variety.
Cameron: Hey, do you need more sunblock?
Josslyn: Oh, uh, yeah, actually. I can feel myself starting to roast.
Cameron: Do you want me to…?
Josslyn: Oh, please. Yeah.
Spencer: Watch the hands, townie.
Maxie: You’re a little superhero, you know. You have a secret identity. To the world and to you. You’re gonna be Bailey Quartermaine now. But here and here, you’re always gonna be my Louise.
Brook Lynn: Maxie, I want you to know that, um, I promise this amazing little creature will always be cared for and loved, okay?
Maxie: I know. If I had any doubts, I wouldn’t be able to do this.
Nina: I already miss Wiley, and I’m not leaving until the morning.
Willow: Well, if you’re not heading back too early, maybe a quick breakfast visit?
Nina: Well, I’m — I’m leaving first thing in the morning, so that’s why we have to make the most out of today. Okay, little guy? Come here, handsome. Let’s go. Okay, wave to Mommy. Alright, let’s get out of here. Thank you so much. We’ll see you later.
Willow: Bye. Have fun.
Nina: Okay.
Nurse: Mr. Caulfield, the doctor’s ready to discuss your treatment plan options with you.
Lenny: Looks like I’m outnumbered. Let’s do this.
Sonny: One day at a time, right?
Phyllis: I know, Mike. It’s just that…some days are harder than others.
Sonny: Yeah, I hate that. There’s never enough time.
Anna: Okay, I’m confused. Alright, you said Peter hired you to take him off the roof of General Hospital.
Hopkins: That was the plan. I couldn’t get the chopper close enough, so I had to abort.
Anna: Well, if you didn’t airlift him out, how did he escape?
On the next “General Hospital”
Alexis (to Shawn): I think it might be unavoidable for both of us.
Nikolas (to TJ and Molly): Please tell me you have good news.
Cam (to Spencer): So how long are you in town for?
Laura (to Jordan): You’ll need to cut that short.
Trina: You’re just full of surprises.
Anna (to Valentin): Can you describe this other person that was on the roof?
Finn (to Elizabeth): I’m not sure the authorities are gonna agree with you.

[ Door slams, keys clink ]
Billy: Uh, you’re not gonna believe why victoria wanted to meet me.
Lily: Um, she gave you a lead on a story?
Billy: Not exactly. Ashland is moving in with her.
Lily: What? I mean… wow, I didn’t see that coming.
Billy: Neither did I. My head almost exploded. Would’ve loved to see the expression on my face.
Lily: Well, yeah, that’s pretty shocking. I mean, what about the kids?
Billy: Well, exactly. So victoria wants us to take the kids more often so they can get used to the situation, and, of course, I love having the kids here, and it’s not a problem, and I know you do, too, but you would have to be on board with this, as well.
Lily: Yeah, no, of course. I mean, I love your kids. I’d love to have them here as much as you and victoria want. But, I mean, isn’t this kind of fast, having ashland move in with her?
Billy: Fast? It’s extremely fast. And there’s another extenuating circumstance. Supposedly, he’s only got a few months to live.
Lily: So you were right. He is dying. God, that is awful.
Billy: I’m not sure victoria understands what she’s setting herself up for.
Victoria: Oh, good. Oh, there you are. Kids, sit down for a second real quick. There’s, um, somebody that i would like for you to meet. Um, this is someone very special to me. His name is ashland.
Ashland: Hello. It’s a pleasure to meet you two.
Victoria: These are my kids. This is johnny and katie.
Ashland: Your mom has told me so much about you.
Johnny: Are you mommy’s friend?
Ashland: I’m mommy’s close friend, yes, and I hope maybe we can be close friends, too.
Katie: Do you like to play dolls?
Ashland: I happen to love playing dolls. Maybe we can do that, as well.
Victoria: [ Sighs ] So ashland’s going to be staying with us for a little while, and you guys are gonna be spending more time at your dad’s house while he’s here.
Ashland: I hope that’s okay with you guys.
Johnny: We like it at daddy’S.
Victoria: Good. I know you do. That’s good. I think that this is gonna work out good for all of us. Right?
Johnny: Can we go play now?
Victoria: Yes, yes, you can go play. Ashland?
Ashland: [ Breathes deeply ]
Victoria: Are you okay?
Ashland: [ Sighs ]
Kyle: [ Sighs ]
Jack: Having a rough day?
Kyle: I’m worried about harrison after what happened in the park. You saw the video.
Jack: Yeah, it was not ashland’s best moment.
Kyle: He lost control, really scared harrison. The kid was in tears afterwards. Now tara…
Jack: Go ahead. “Now tara,” what?
Kyle: She maybe wants to restrict ashland’s contact with him.
Jack: That’s an aggressive move. What do you think?
Amanda: How long have we been waiting?
Devon: Not that long.
Amanda: Victor’s gonna call, right?
Devon: Yes. Yeah. Of course he is, when he’s ready to. You were kind of vague, though, on how he’s gonna approach this whole thing.
Amanda: Well, I am looking for a weakness in sutton. Everything I’ve tried so far hasn’t worked, so I need a new angle. I need a way to push him into a corner. And victor is gonna help me find something that will trap him and make him confess that he’s the one who had my father killed.
Victor: So, amanda sinclair wants to expose you as her father’s killer.
Sutton: I figured as much. Saddens me that she thinks I’m capable of something like that. I’m afraid she’s turning out to be quite a disappointment. Now she’s wasting valuable time. You said something about having a solution to this problem?
Victor: I can guarantee it.
Billy: I’m concerned about victoria bringing this guy into her home. The kids have never met him. Victoria only met him a few months ago. [ Sighs ] He’s dying. He’s only got a few months to live. She claims that she can manage the situation so the kids aren’t negatively impacted. I just don’t see how that’s possible.
Lily: Well, look, this is not a perfect situation for anyone, but I think that we can all work together to make this as easy as possible for the kids, you know? Victoria’s a good mom. She’ll handle this responsibly. I’m just shocked that she’s willing to go through this with ashland.
Billy: I know. Me, too. She knows what she’s doing. She knows what she’s getting into. I mean, is she doing this just so the deal doesn’t fall through?
Lily: You don’t still believe that, do you?
Billy: I think it’s a part of it. It’s the same reason why she allowed herself to be dragged through the press.
Lily: Billy, she wouldn’t put herself through this if she wasn’t emotionally involved. I mean, taking care of someone who is terminally ill is brutal because that person’s gone, and then you’re left alone to grieve.
Billy: I understand that, and I’ve tried to talk to her about it, but she clearly doesn’t want to listen to me.
Lily: Then maybe you need to listen to her. Clearly, she think this is the right thing for her to do to take care of someone who’s going through a difficult time. And I think you have to learn to be okay with that.
Billy: Right now, my focus needs to be on the kids.
Lily: Yes. And I’m sure victoria’s is, as well.
Billy: Thank you for supporting me and for being cool with the kids staying here.
Lily: Of course.
Billy: [ Sighs ] I’m gonna go get them this evening, if that’s okay with you.
Lily: Yeah, absolutely.
Billy: I’ll call victoria and set it up with her. In the meantime, there’s a few things I need to take care of.
[ Door closes ]
Victoria: Are you breathing easier?
Ashland: Well, I’m feeling better. This attack was odd — more constrictive, less painful.
Victoria: What do you think that means?
Ashland: I have no idea. But I’m glad it didn’t happen until johnny and — and katie were gone.
Victoria: Yeah, me, too.
Ashland: Are you having second thoughts about me being here? I mean, with my condition and the kids? I absolutely understand if you are.
Victoria: No. No, I’m not. Billy and I have already talked about how we’re gonna handle things with the kids. It’s okay. I don’t want you anywhere other than right here.
Ashland: I don’t deserve you.
Victoria: I just feel very lucky to get to spend every moment with you that I can.
Jack: Look, I understand how upsetting this encounter in the park was for harrison. I also understand your instinct to want to protect your son. But let me ask you something. You’ve lost a parent yourself. Wouldn’t you have given anything to have more time with your mother?
Kyle: 100% I would’ve. And I would never want to take away harrison from having those kind of moments with ashland. But the incident in the park — you didn’t see it in person. I don’t think you could fully see on the video just how scared harrison was.
Jack: I don’t think ashland intended any of this. Look, I saw the tape. I… I think this was a man protecting his son, trying to shield him from a debilitating illness. Not particularly the best way. Look, I don’t think you can expect a guy that’s going through that much to handle everything perfectly all the time.
Kyle: I hear what you’re saying, but I’m just trying to do what’s best for my son.
Jack: That’s the priority. You let that guide you, I am confident you will make the right decision. I got to go.
[ Keys jingle ]
Sally: Ooh, I am glad to see you. I need your advice.
Jack: About what?
Sally: Whipped cream or foam?
Jack: That’s easy. Neither.
Sally: Oh, so you’re a “none of the above” guy.
Jack: Most decisions in life are not binary choices.
Sally: You’re even turning “whipped cream versus foam” into a life lesson?
Jack: I’m kind of a purist when it comes to coffee drinks.
Sally: Okay, can you just clear this up for me? Are we having just some friendly and slightly awkward banter, or are we actually, like, building until you get to the point where you actually ask me out again?
Jack: How about tonight?
Sally: Yeah. I think I can make some room in my schedule.
Jack: I’ll be in touch with details.
Sally: Okay. Who needs coffee? I’m gonna…
Jack: Can I get a coffee — black?
Phyllis: Hey, I couldn’t help but notice that you were looking at those right there.
Jack: Don’t even start about sally.
Phyllis: And I’m not going to start about sally. I’m not doing that. That’s not what I was talking about. Live and let live. That’s my new motto.
Jack: Gee, I wish I could believe that.
Phyllis: Believe it. Seriously, I don’t feel the need to protect you. I don’t want to intervene in your life.
Jack: Well, perhaps you could share your new attitude with the world at large, because most people out there are just trying to get through life as best they can. Everyone has issues. Everyone has problems. No one needs someone to add to them.
Phyllis: I-I don’t want to add to anyone’s problems.
Tara: Harrison had another nightmare when he took his nap.
Kyle: About what he saw in the park?
Tara: That’s what he said. He woke up terrified. Couldn’t stop crying.
Kyle: God, I just wish we could all get on the same page. If ashland isn’t willing to work with us to help harrison through this, then —
Tara: Maybe my instincts were right, and I should fight to keep ashland away from him.
Amanda: I wasn’t sure what to expect, you know, when I went to go see victor, especially given the fact that I tried to implicate him and his company in the murder of my father.
Devon: And how did he react to that?
Amanda: He said that he understood I was just trying to do my job.
Devon: Is there a part of you that still wonders if he’s telling the truth?
Amanda: Of course. I’ve been burned so bad that I’m always wondering that. I think that he sincerely wants to help me.
Devon: Yeah, I think you have every reason to believe that he is sincere. And you told me that you two connected over growing up without parents. And if this truth comes out, it clears his name, too.
Amanda: Yeah. No, I think I trust him. I do. I’m just not sure I trust myself. I haven’t been the best judge of character.
Victor: Were you aware that richard had come to me to ask me to help in the search for his child?
Sutton: I was not.
Victor: Well, he became aware that his ex-girlfriend had had a baby, you know? And, uh, then they’d all found out that they were twin babies. I was compassionate. You know, I felt sorry for him because of my own past. So I steered him in the direction of a private eye that would help him in his search.
Sutton: Well, unfortunately, it didn’t pan out.
Victor: Unfortunately, right.
Sutton: So why are you telling me all this?
Victor: A few days before he died in that tragic accident, he’d sent me a letter. The contents of that letter might be of great interest to you. The airport can be a real challenge for new homeowners
Kyle: I’m not sure what the right thing to do in this situation is. I’m just trying to make the best decisions for harrison, same as you.
Tara: I’m as confused as you are. I mean, my intention had been for ashland to spend as much time with harrison as he was able, knowing how fast he could be declining.
Kyle: That’s what I wanted, too.
Tara: I truly believed that the diagnosis had changed him. But from what I saw in the park, he hasn’t accepted that he can’t control this.
Kyle: Well, maybe if we went to locke — together. We could come to an understanding.
Tara: I think part of what upset ashland was seeing us together — you, me, and harrison — because it was a glimpse of a future that he is not going to be a part of.
Kyle: Oh, but this isn’t about us. It’s about our kid, his future, his happiness, and I’m gonna do whatever I can to care for him, to protect him, and give him the best life possible.
Tara: I can’t tell you how much it means to me to hear you say that, to know that you feel the same way. It’s just so reassuring.
Kyle: Yeah, um, let’s talk more later. I’ve — I’ve got to check in with the office. Um, when I get back, we can discuss this some more, come up with a plan on how to move forward.
Tara: I’d like that. [ Sighs ]
Devon: Yeah, I’ll get those numbers to you right away. Okay.
Lily: Hey.
Devon: Hey. Hi. Forgot my keys.
Lily: Oh, my gosh.
Devon: [ Chuckles ]
Lily: Any news about mariah?
Devon: Uh, no, nothing new. Nothing new. I don’t think it’s anything that we need to overreact about. I actually think that that’s probably the reason why mariah took off in the first place, was just everybody hovering over her while she’s trying to deal with being pregnant for the first time, you know? But knowing the kind of person she is, I can’t fault her for doing what she felt like she needed to do. So…
[ Cellphone pings ]
Lily: Is that mariah?
Devon: No, no, this is amanda. She’s waiting on some important information for the case she’s working on. It’s crazy, though, what she’s had to deal with with her family. She has her mom, who has admitted to a crime that she obviously didn’t commit, and between that and all the competing loyalties and agendas with her family, she’s just — nothing stopped her. Nothing slowed her down. She’s still very determined to find out the truth about what happened to her father.
Lily: Wow. Well, I hope she finds the answers she’s looking for.
Devon: If they’re out there, she will find them.
Lily: Yeah. Well, keep me posted.
Devon: I will, I will.
Lily: Okay. Oh, wait.
Devon: Hm?
Lily: I have some news, as well.
Devon: What’s your news?
Lily: [ Chuckles ] Um, I am entering a stepmom situation, a real one, where, um, johnny and katie are coming to live with me and billy, full-time, almost, for the next few months.
Devon: Wow. How does victoria feel about that?
Lily: It was her idea.
Devon: Really?
Lily: Mm-hmm.
Devon: W-why would she suggest that?
Lily: Ashland is moving in with her.
Devon: Wow.
Lily: [ Chuckles ]
Devon: Wow, that’s very generous.
Lily: Well, I think it’s more than generous. It’s really brave to risk that kind of emotional pain.
Devon: Yeah.
Lily: You know, when I got my diagnosis, and I thought I might die, you know, it really made me think, like, who’s gonna actually be there for me in the end, you know? And she’s doing that for him. But, yeah, I just don’t think billy really sees it the way i do yet, you know? He’s still worried about the kids and how fast things are moving. And, you know, he’s also thinking that victoria’s still doing this for the business merger.
Devon: What about you? Do you think that’s a possibility?
Lily: I mean, I did at first, but I think when you’re willing to watch someone go through something as scary as ashland is, you know, that really makes you reexamine your priorities. So, clearly, there’s a deep connection there.
Devon: Yeah.
Lily: I just don’t think that billy really understands that yet.
Billy: Hey. I’m here to get the kids.
Ashland: Oh, uh, well, they’re upstairs with victoria. They should be, uh, ready soon.
Billy: Uh, how you doing?
Ashland: Fine.
Billy: Mm.
Ashland: A-and you?
Billy: I’m good.
Ashland: Does it bother you that I’m here?
Billy: My main concern are johnny and katie.
Ashland: Well, that’s everyone’s position, and it’s the right one. I-I’m going through a similar situation with my son in the wake of what was captured on a terrible video of us in the park.
Billy: Yeah, that was unfortunate.
Ashland: I regret overreacting. I wanted to protect harrison, but then I ended up making him feel frightened and confused.
Billy: Well, you’re in a tough spot.
Ashland: I soon need to have a serious age-appropriate talk with my son about my condition, as I would imagine that you would have a similar talk with your kids, given that they will see me in a weakened state.
Billy: I got to admit, ashland, I don’t understand what you’re doing here.
Ashland: Well, I don’t know how to break this to you, but victoria and I are involved in more than just a business deal.
Billy: Yeah, well, the fact that you two decided to move in together certainly suggests that, but let’s assume that she does have real feelings for you. You’re sick. You’re dying. So why would you do that to her? Why would you subject her to the inevitable pain of losing you?
“The young and the restless” will continue.
Phyllis: Hey, you. To what do I owe the pleasure?
Tara: Oh, I have a meeting with lauren, but I’m a bit early.
Phyllis: Ah, great. Well, let’s have a little chat. I mean, I’ll keep you company until she arrives.
Tara: Sure. Sounds good.
Phyllis: Have a seat. [ Sighs ] So… [ Clears throat ] My daughter’s having such a great time in milan. Oh, my gosh. She loves her job. She loves it. In fact, she sent me a picture. She looks so happy. See? See how happy she is?
Tara: Oh, she really does look happy.
Phyllis: Yeah, she is so happy. Yeah. So this worked out great for everyone. It’s win/win, isn’t it? Except for kyle. I feel bad for kyle. I think he’s really, really hurting. I think he’s — he’s still trying to figure out, you know, how to feel about her leaving. I think he’s suffering. You know? I think it’s great, though. I-I think the time away will make them realize how much they love each other and how much they miss each other. And they’ll be in each other’s arms real soon.
Tara: Oh, it would be great if they could find a way to work it out. But kyle seems to have accepted summer’s decision, and he’s focused on the future. I mean, his growing bond with harrison is so amazing to watch.
Phyllis: Oh.
Tara: I can’t imagine him walking away. Especially given ashland’s deteriorating condition and the way my ex is dealing with it.
Phyllis: Oh, yeah, I saw the video.
Tara: I mean, he actually frightened harrison with that outburst.
Phyllis: Honestly, harrison will be fine. Kids are resilient.
Tara: Well, it’s not acceptable. Kyle and I need to put our child first. We’re even talking about trying to get sole custody.
Phyllis: You’re gonna get — wait, you’re gonna try to get sole custody from a dying man?
Lauren: Hello, ladies. Oh…
Phyllis: Hey.
Lauren: Am I interrupting something?
Tara: Not at all.
Lauren: Oh, you know what? Ugh, I forgot the mockups we need. I’m gonna go to the car, and why don’t I meet you at the street entrance at the restaurant, okay?
Tara: Sounds good.
Lauren: Okay.
Tara: Listen, I can tell that you’re a great mother, and that entails making the right choices for your kid. And as you know, sometimes those choices are hard. Sometimes people get hurt.
Phyllis: I don’t disagree with that.
Tara: I’m as protective as i can sense you are. You would do anything for your child, and so would I. Which means we’re really not that different from each other.
Amanda: What was that about?
Phyllis: [ Sighs ] I’m doing a dance with that girl.
Amanda: What kind of dance?
Phyllis: The tango, but i think she’s leading. You know, we’re trying to out-nice each other, and it is really, really hard. I just lost it, too. I shouldn’t have done that, and I did.
[ Sighs ]
Amanda: Okay, what happened? What got under your skin?
Phyllis: The lengths that this girl will go to to get her hooks into kyle.
Amanda: [ Sighs ] Yeah, I-I read that kyle was the biological father to her son. I mean, I didn’t know that there was more to it than that.
Phyllis: This girl has wormed her way into the abbott household already. She’s pretty much jumped from ashland’s millions into the abbotts’ millions. I really just need her to snap so jack and kyle realize what’s really going on.
Amanda: I heard that the abbotts welcomed tara and her son into their family. I mean, are you sure about her agenda?
Phyllis: Yeah, i am sure about her agenda. It’s obvious. I mean, she’s playing this sweet mom, this — this victim of her own circumstance, and — and, “I’m such a good mother to my kid,” and she’s using harrison. I mean, it’s so obvious. I can’t stand it.
Amanda: Phyllis, are you really sure that she’s doing that?
Phyllis: Yeah, I am, amanda. I am really sure. And you know who else can see it? Billy. Billy has seen how she’s ingratiated herself with the abbott family just to get close to kyle.
Amanda: Oh, that’s what the two of you were talking about earlier.
Phyllis: Yeah. I mean, we’re working together. That should tell you something. I’m working with billy on this. That girl preyed on my daughter’s deepest, deepest insecurities and got my kid to fly to another continent for peace just so she could clear a path to kyle. That’s what she did.
Amanda: Okay. I mean, if you’re right about all of that, then I understand why you want to intervene. But have you thought about how your actions can affect kyle’s son and jack’s grandson?
Phyllis: Oh, please. It won’t affect him. He’s an abbott. They’ll take care of him. That kid will want for nothing.
Amanda: Well, if your plan is to run tara out of town, then she may take her son with her. And unless kyle has a legally binding custody agreement, she could deny him access to harrison.
Phyllis: Nah, that’s never gonna happen. They’re gonna fight it. Jack and kyle will fight it, believe me. Especially if they know who she really is as opposed to this saint that she pretends to be.
Amanda: Well, can you please be careful? And can you make sure that you are right about her agenda before you do anything rash?
Phyllis: I am right about her agenda. I’m 100% right. And I will take her down. It will be steady, and it will be calculated, but I will take that girl down. Let’s not talk about me. Let’s talk about you. What’s going on with your case?
Amanda: [ Scoffs ] Well, that’s been one shock after another.
Phyllis: I know. Your mom, who confessed. And — and your grandfather, who you think is guilty?
Amanda: Yeah, and the latest shock of them all — the person that is my greatest ally in all of this is victor newman.
Victor: Well, I launched an investigation into amanda’s claim that someone at newman had been responsible for richard’s death. And during that investigation, i came upon the letter that richard had written to me.
Sutton: So, what’s it say?
Victor: He thanked me for my help. He also said that he had been in touch with you and that you had warned him that he should discontinue the search for the child or else there would be consequences.
Sutton: Well, either richard was lying about his contact with me or you’re lying about the letter.
Victor: Now, sutton, you and I are not in and adversarial relationship right now. You know, we’ve had always amicable dealings with one another, right?
Sutton: Mm-hmm.
Victor: So I’m simply suggesting an arrangement. Aw, c’mon flowers.
Ashland: I’m sick. Nobody said anything about dying.
Billy: Oh, but that’s what your concern is, isn’t it? For my — for my children? What they would be going through now that you live here? Not to mention what victoria would be going through.
Victoria: I can speak for myself, billy. Look, one thing is for sure, that nobody knows what the future holds. It’s impossible to predict that. I think you and I understand that better than most people, right? Ashland and I, whatever happens, we just — we want to go through it together and make each other as happy as possible in the meantime. I don’t understand what part of that is so hard for you to see.
Billy: Well, alright then. I can be okay with that. As long as everyone is open and honest and everything is on the table, and no one takes advantage of anyone else’s good nature.
Ashland: Billy, that’s the last thing I would ever do. And surely you know that victoria’s a woman who does what she wants. And nobody is going to cajole her into anything.
Billy: Ashland, I’m really sorry what you’re going through, and it’s good to see you happy…as long as it lasts. I’m gonna go get the children.
Phyllis: Ah, seriously. Sorry, I had to deal with a customer complaint.
Amanda: Eh, it’s no problem.
Phyllis: Honestly, this job would be awesome if I didn’t have to deal with guests.
Amanda: [ Chuckles ] Okay, did you want to talk later, then?
Phyllis: No, no, no. I want to know about your case. I want to know about sutton.
Amanda: Well, right now, we’re just trying to find weaknesses in sutton’s armor.
Phyllis: Well, I mean, you’re working with victor. He’s really, really good in finding weaknesses in people. Very good.
Sally: I will tell jack you said hello. We are going out tonight.
Phyllis: Oh, well, definitely tell him. Definitely. And, you know, jack and I are completely honest with each other. He knows how I feel about you dating him. It doesn’t seem to matter to him. So, hey, listen, it’s his life, his choice.
Sally: I’d like to believe you’re sincere.
Phyllis: Well, I’m definitely sincere, and you should be happy that my opinion has absolutely no impact on jack. But it did have an impact on my friendship with him, and that is very important to me. So I am out of it. I’m out of it. Do what you want.
Lauren: I have to ask, is there something going on between you and phyllis?
Tara: Oh, it’s a complicated situation, obviously, with summer deciding to leave. I hate feeling like I’m in any way responsible. It’s the last thing I ever wanted.
Lauren: This whole thing has been very hard on her.
Tara: Which makes it all the more surprising that I think phyllis and I are actually becoming kind of friends.
Lauren: Well, as one of phyllis’ closest friends, I will tell you that she is amazing. She is funny and caring.
Tara: Except when you get on her bad side.
Lauren: Uh… [ Chuckles ] Maybe when we get to know each other better, I can fill you in on that.
Phyllis: Friendships are important, aren’t they? Especially in this town. And I am determined to foster every single relationship that i have. Tara is happy to reciprocate.
Sally: Well, good for you.
Phyllis: Mm-hmm.
Sally: I am impressed by your new outlook.
Phyllis: Thanks.
Sally: Have a good night.
Phyllis: You, too.
Amanda: Okay, what the hell was that?
Phyllis: [ Sighs ] I don’t know, amanda. But I’m gonna put the puzzle pieces together. I’m gonna do it. Something is going on between tara and sally. I know it in my gut. Both of those girls benefited by my daughter leaving town. Sally has summer’s job at jcv, and that one over there has her man. Not a coincidence… and I will prove it.
Life…
Billy: Kids are settled, and it’s fantastic that they love their rooms.
Lily: Aww. I’m so happy that they’re comfortable here.
Billy: Yeah.
Lily: So how’d it go with victoria and ashland?
Billy: [ Sighs ] Honestly, I feel for the guy. I mean, everything he’s going through — tara’s deception, finding out that your child is not your biological son, knowing that you only have a few months to live, having to make the choice to sell your empire, something that you’ve built your entire life. It’s just — it’s horrible.
Lily: I know. It’s a lot to deal with.
Billy: Right now, it seems the only thing he’s looking for is happiness with victoria.
Lily: Well, I think it sounds like they both deserve that.
Billy: Yeah, I agree. I didn’t see that in the beginning, but I do now.
Lily: I’m glad.
Billy: I’m surprised by my level of maturity.
Lily: [ Chuckles ]
Billy: It’s something I have you to thank for.
Lily: That’s true.
Billy: [ Chuckles ]
Tara: [ Sighs ] Thanks for coming back so soon.
Kyle: Mm-hmm.
Tara: Were you able to finish everything up at the office?
Kyle: Mm. Did you text me because you wanted to pick up our conversation about harrison? I assume you’ve thought more about what we talked about.
Tara: I’ve actually given it a lot of consideration. And I made a decision.
Victoria: Your favorite wine for your first night here.
Ashland: Oh, my. Well, I would love to offer the perfect toast, but I don’t know if I can find the words to express how happy and grateful i am.
[ Cellphone ringing ]
Victoria: [ Sighs ]
Ashland: That’s my attorney. I won’t answer it.
Victoria: No, you should — you should get it.
Ashland: [ Clears throat ] Yes? Okay. Uh, give me a minute until I can figure out my next move. Tara filed a new motion — for sole custody of harrison.
Sally: Well, I wasn’t sure this was gonna happen again.
Jack: I’m a bit surprised myself.
Sally: Well, let’s not put any pressure on ourselves. You know, tonight doesn’t have to be perfect. The other night kind of was, but we’re not gonna be able to outdo ourselves every time. So… [ Sighs ] Please stop me from talking.
[ Chuckles ]
Jack: Okay, why don’t we start simple? You look lovely.
Sally: Thank you.
Jack: And I’m really glad we’re doing this.
Sally: Me, too.
Devon: Hey.
Amanda: Hey.
Devon: Still no word from victor?
Amanda: No, not yet. But I have resigned myself to the fact that this will take longer than I thought to get results. You know, sutton is a smart man, and victor has to play this safe if he’s going to get him to admit anything that I can use to prove his guilt.
Devon: Well, victor’s no rookie at getting what he wants. So if anybody can do it, he can.
Amanda: And I have every confidence that he will pull this off.
Victor: Now, sutton, I have no reason to lie to you, and i certainly am no friend of amanda sinclair’S. I mean, I’m very angry with her for even investigating newman enterprises and me personally, you know, trying to defame us to use that as her defense. But I do have that letter, you know? The contents of which are very valuable to you, I’m sure. And I’m the only one who knows of the existence of that letter.
Sutton: Why don’t we cut to the chase here?
Victor: [ Chuckles ] Sutton, you and I know how these things work. I mean, that letter can be yours for the right price.

Roman: Well, all right. Let’s hear from the guests of honor.
John: Ah, yeah, why not. Speech, speech, come on.
Nicole: No, I don’t have anything to say!
John: It’s your anniversary, kids.
[All chattering]
Sami: [Chuckles] I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’m not expecting anyone. Stop looking at me like that.
EJ: Then why do you keep checking the time and hovering near the door?
Sami: What? You just know how I feel about nicole. I’m not exactly thrilled to be here.
EJ: I know, but it’s unlike you to hang about the fringes of any party.
Sami: Yeah, well, I’m just hoping to get time alone with eric. It’s been so long since I’ve seen him.
EJ: He’s looking well.
Sami: Yeah, probably ’cause he’s gotten ten months away from nicole.
EJ: Or maybe it’s about being back with her again.
Sami: Hmm.
EJ: [Chuckles]
Sami: All right, well, I’M… glad that he’s happy.
EJ: Then join the party. Come on.
Sami: You know what? Nicole’s about to make some teary toast and everyone’s gonna be all emotional and happy for her. I think it’s better if I stay by the door just in case I have to puke.
EJ: [Chuckles] Now, that’s the samantha I know and love.
[Smooches]
Nicole: I-I-I– I just wanna thank everybody for coming here on such short notice and helping eric and I celebrate our one-year anniversary. You know, living apart for so long was a real… challenge. But I–I just want to say thank you again for your friendship and your support through all of this, and… honey, I… I am just so incredibly proud of you and your work in the congo and it just makes me love you so much more… and miss you so much more. And as I told eric, um, it was one year ago today was the happiest day of my life.
Sami: Here she goes.
EJ: [Stifles a laugh]
Nicole: And it means the world to me to share this happiness with people who love eric as much as I do. And, uh… I remember saying that no matter what life threw at us, we would get through it together. And we have.
Eric: Yes.
Nicole: I love you.
Eric: I love you.
[Tender music]
Eric: I can’t even express how good it is to be home with my wife, surrounded by my family and some very old, dear friends. What nicole said about our separation– it was very, very hard for us. And I take full responsibility. I know how much I asked of her and how much she went through with me being so far away, and… she just made me feel like the luckiest man in the world to have a wife like you. One year ago today, I told you it took me 20 years to realize that I can’t live without you. And I don’t ever want to live without you. And I mean that more than ever.
[Music darkens]
Eric: Please… [Chuckles]
[All laugh]
Eric: Sorry, will you please join me in toasting this loving and most beautiful, understanding wife in the world with me.
All: Cheers.
John: Congratulations, you two.
Nicole: Thank you.
Xander: I wonder if you’d feel the same way if you knew while you were sweating away down in africa, she was screwin’ around behind your back.
[Tense music]
Eric: What the hell are you talking about?
Xander: Do I have to spell it out for you? Nicole’s been cheating on you, mate. She shagged another man.
Male announcer: Like sands through the hourglass, so are the “days of our lives.”
[Soft orchestration]
Roman: What the hell is he talking about?
Philip: What the hell is he even doing here?
Eric: Why don’t you get out before I throw you out.
Nicole: Honey, he can’t– he doesn’t want us to be happy. That’s what this is all about. He just wants to ruin our night.
Eric: It’s okay. I know he’s lying. You know what? The best thing for you to do is turn around right now and leave.
Roman: Hey, I’ve kicked this clown out of here before. Say the word, I’ll do it again.
Xander: You know, it really is bloody decent of you to finally fly back just in time for your first wedding anniversary. I know for a fact that your wife has been very lonely in your absence. You must have a screw loose to leave a woman like that all alone for this amount of time. Excuse me, miss.
Sami: [Scoffs]
Eric: You know, why don’t you just save your breath? I don’t believe anything you’re saying.
Xander: I’m staying right here. Ugh.
Chloe: This stand-off is embarrassing. Do you think he’s drunk?
Brady: Eric and nicole love each other. He’s gonna give up and get out. No one will remember what he said.
Sami: Poor eric looks like he’s been punched in the face.
EJ: It sounds like you think this xander guy is right, that nicole did cheat on him.
Sami: Well, what motive would he have for showing up here and lying?
EJ: I’m sure he’s got some scheme in mind.
Sami: I don’t know. The look on nicole’s face? She’s scared of something.
Nicole: I heard my husband tell you to leave. What are you, deaf or something?
John: I’d be happy to show him out.
Philip: So would I.
Roman: Me too.
Nicole: Looks like we have a quorum.
Xander: Oh, but the fun’s just getting started. Hey, how ’bout A… ahh, refill, mate?
Roman: Listen, clown, you’ve had your fun; it didn’t work. Get the hell out of here before you make a bigger ass of yourself.
Xander: Well, the least you can do is refill eric’s glass. All of a sudden, he’s having a really bad night. Oh, but he doesn’t drink, does he? Maybe he’ll start again when he hears the rest of what I have to tell him. Including the name of the man who had sex with his wife.
Nicole: You shut up and get out, xander.
Xander: Oh, I don’t know, nicole, look at eric. I think he’s a little curious. Am I right?
Eli: I told you, I’m not gonna believe anything–
Xander: It was me! Yours truly! And let me tell you, she loved every minute of it.
Your mission:
Eric: I know the things that you’ve done to nicole in the past. And you’re the last man on earth she’d ever want to sleep with.
Xander: You do not know your wife as well as you think you do.
Brady: You’ve had your fun. You’ve had your fun. Let’s go.
Xander: Lay one more hand on me…and see what happens.
Eric: I can handle him, brady. You’ve only lusted after nicole all these years and she never wanted a part of any of it. You know why I know that, even after you made her marry you? She still never had sex with you. Because she only saw you for the pathetic loser you are.
Xander: Are you really gonna let him talk to me like that? After I was there for you the night when he called to say he was staying in africa for another three months. You were a mess!
Nicole: Shut up.
Xander: I was having a nice drink at the bar there when she comes barreling in and starts knocking them back like there was no tomorrow. You remember that, right?
Eric: Do you remember that, dad?
Roman: No, I don’T.
Xander: Well, that’s ’cause you weren’t tending bar. You know why I know? ‘Cause the drinks weren’t watered down. Anyway, after hours, we were back at the salem inn. We were good and drunk by then, but I know you remember this, nicole. We went up to my room for another drink and one thing led to another. You see, eric, you’d been gone for a very long time and nicole was very…needy. Fortunately, I was there for her in her hours of need.
Eric: You must have been hallucinating. Drunk or sober, nicole would never be alone in a room with you.
Xander: I understand why you’d have a hard time believing me so maybe you should ask your sister, samantha. She knows what happened.
Eric: Whoa, whoa, what do you have to do with this?
Xander: Tell him.
[Dramatic music]
Xander: Go ahead, sami, you know you’ve been holding out on your brother, your whole family. Tell them what you know.
Sami: Don’t put me in the middle of this.
Xander: Oh, don’t play dumb. You said you saw nicole and me going into the salem inn.
Eric: Is that true, sami?
Sami: Um, okay, look. Eric, what happened was brady was in the hospital after kristen ran him off the road. I had to go find mom and john to tell them the news. They were having dinner at the bistro so I went there to find them.
Marlena: John and I saw sami outside the salem inn.
Sami: Right. Before that happened…
Xander: Go ahead.
Sami: [Sighs sharply] I saw… xander and nicole going into the salem inn together. Look, brady was in critical condition and that’s why I didn’t tell you, mom. That’s why I didn’t tell anyone. I’m so sorry, eric. I don’t know what happened when they went in there. I wanted to find out more before I made an issue out of it.
Eric: Did you go to xander’s room?
Nicole: No.
[Musical sting]
[Softly] No. You know how upset I was when you told me you were staying in africa again. So I did come here and I did have too much to drink and xander also happened to be here. Look, I drank too much. I was in no shape to drive so I went to the salem inn and I got a room to sleep it off.
Xander: Yeah, but it was my room and there wasn’t any sleeping.
Nicole: That is not true! I got my own room. And you know what, sami? I told you the same thing when you came knocking on my door, pretending to be concerned about me.
Sami: Eric, I had to find out more information. I was just really concerned… for you. And, um… I’m so sorry to have to say this but, uh, the inn doesn’t have any record of nicole booking a room.
Nicole: I explained that! I was so out of sorts I used my basic black corporate card, okay? That is why there is nothing in my name.
Sami: Which I was just about to explain to eric if you hadn’t jumped down my throat.
Nicole: Oh, yes, I jumped down your throat.
Sami: I do think it’s odd that you happened to carry around the corporate receipt in your purse to show me. I don’t know, almost as if you were…covering your tracks.
Brady: Sami, I–I told nicole to hold onto the receipt.
Sami: Why?
Brady: Why? To reimburse the company. That’s the end of the story. Does anybody understand why we are allowing this moron to hijack this anniversary party?
Xander: Why are you covering for nicole, brady? Still feeling guilty about coming between her and eric back in the day? ‘Cause you know as well as I do that nicole and I did get drunk at that bar and then we went up to my room at the salem inn and drank some more. But she wasn’t so drunk that she didn’t know what she was doing. She was furious at eric for leaving her all alone with his niece and those two little brats for three more months and she wanted to get back at him. And what better way to do that then to jump into bed with me, where I showed her a damn good time. The truth is, eric, she just couldn’t get enough of me.
Sami: [Screams]
[Clattering]
Eric: Come on! Come on!
[All chattering]
Xander: I get it. No man likes to hear how much his wife liked being with another man especially when it’s the truth! Ask your wife why she hired me at basic black. She had to; it’s the only way I’d keep quiet about us having sex, mate!
[Door slams]
Eric: I’m fine. Just let me go.
[Tense music]
Is it true? Did you give xander a job to keep him quiet about the two of you? Did you know that your toughest cleaning problems
Roman: All right. Okay, I’m gonna wrap this hand.
Eric: Dad, I don’t need that.
Roman: If I don’t do it now, it’s gonna look like a boxing glove in the morning, okay? Now, listen to me, xander’s a troublemaker, all right? That’s what he lives for. He’s just jealous that nicole wants you, not him.
Chloe: Well, this night didn’t go the way it was supposed to.
Brady: Not quite.
Chloe: How did xander think he could get away with that? Nicole would never let him touch her.
Nicole: Xander and me? What, are you nuts? I would never–
Brady: I over– I overheard xander when I came in, saying that you two had slept together behind eric’s back. Actually, he put it a little more colorfully than that.
Nicole: And you’re just… mentioning this now?
Brady: [Sighs] Is it true?
[Tense music]
Nicole: Yes.
Chloe: Wait, do you know something? Did nicole hire xander to keep him quiet?
Brady: Xander doesn’t want nicole to be happy and he would do anything to destroy her marriage. And I’m not gonna let him get away with it.
John: Easy, kid.
Philip: Where’s brady going?
Chloe: I don’t know. But I have to talk to nicole. Excuse me.
John: Should’ve thrown that bastard out of here before he opened his lousy mouth.
Marlena: I’m not sure that would’ve changed anything.
John: What do you mean?
Marlena: You could see the pain that nicole was in.
John: What do you mean? You think she was in pain because–’cause, what? She laid down with that jerk?
Marlena: I think if she hadn’t done that, she would’ve denied it. Vehemently denied it.
John: She did deny it.
Marlena: Well… john, it wasn’t that convincing. She was worried, she was stammering. At least, that’s my take on it.
John: What the hell do I know? You’re the shrink so I… I’m guessing that your take was probably pretty accurate.
Marlena: I’m hoping I’m wrong. But in this case, I think, for once, xander was telling the truth.
[Dramatic music]
Xander: [Sighs] Well, sami, you came through for me. Makes me glad I didn’t kill you like kristen wanted me to. A cool million just for a few minutes work and one punch to the jaw. That’s if it’s all here. The way sami took down nicole without batting an eye, I wouldn’t put it past her to try and cheat me, too.
[Intense music]
EJ: Why didn’t you tell me that you suspected nicole of cheating on eric?
Sami: I didn’t want it to be true. I mean, look, I don’t like nicole, but eric loves her and I wouldn’t want her to break his heart. Besides, I just can’t believe that nicole would cheat on someone as honorable as my brother.
EJ: Hmm. Well, being far apart is difficult for any marriage. Even if the distance is only emotional.
Sami: Ej–
EJ: I put that distance between us.
Sami: You were going through hell.
EJ: There’s no excuse for it. You were there, I pushed you away. Truth is… I was afraid I could no longer be the husband you needed.
Sami: I understand that now.
EJ: I should’ve explained it at the time, but unfortunately, I was too self-consumed to consider your feelings. There’s no excuse for it.
Sami: Ej, we have been over this.
EJ: I know, I just feel like I need to tell you again. Especially in light of what eric’s going through. I just thank god that you hung with me, didn’t turn to another man. I would’ve lost my mind.
Sami: [Sighs deeply]
Chloe: Listen, just take some deep breaths, okay? This is all gonna get straightened out. Eric knows what kind of man xander is. He’s not gonna believe him.
[Emotional string music]
Nicole: I think he kind of does.
Chloe: He knows how much you love him.
Nicole: [Sighs]
Eric: Please tell me the truth. You hate xander. Why would you hire him at basic black?
Chloe: Because of me. For reasons that I won’t get into right now, but… I had to take a leave of absence and brady was still recovering from the car accident. Nicole had this entire workload herself and we knew that xander had corporate experience. I’m telling you, nicole only brought xander on board because he knew all the operations at gabi chic, our main competitor. She hated working with him but, you know, we thought it’d give us a leg up. Isn’t that right? Tell him.
Sami: I think nicole should tell him the whole story. The true story. I think you owe him that.
Marlena: Sami, why don’t you mind your own business? In fact, I think that everybody should give eric and nicole some time to work this out on their own.
Eric: I need you to answer one simple question. Did you hire xander because you were short-handed or to shut him up?
Nicole: [Sobbing] I am so sorry.
[Sobbing]
Nicole: Oh, my god, chloe, what have I done?
Marlena: Our son needs us.
Roman: Right, I’ll drive. John, we’re going to find eric.
John: Yeah, sure.
Roman: I’ll bring her home after we talk to eric.
Belle: Poor eric. How could she do this to him?
John: Well, honey, it sounds like nicole was in a bad way. Eric being gone must’ve really taken a toll on her.
Belle: Yeah, well, how is that an excuse for sleeping with the worst person on the planet? I mean, how– how could she do this to him?
Sami: You know what? Let’s get out of here. I don’t want to stay and watch nicole try to get sympathy from everyone.
EJ: I see there are things that time doesn’t alter.
Sami: What does that mean?
EJ: How much you hate nicole.
Sami: I have lots of good reasons, don’t you think? Let’s go.
Nicole: You did this, you bitch!
[Tense music]
Xander: It is all here. Minus the bail money, which I can get back. And cold hard cash doesn’t disappear like a bank transfer.
[Door opens]
Brady: You have some explaining to do.
Xander: Party’s over? It’s a bit early.
Brady: Why’d you do it?
Xander: I just thought eric deserved to know what kind of woman he married.
Brady:
[Scoffs] Yeah, sure. You’re just a stickler for morality, aren’t you? No, really, what are you getting out of this?
Xander: It’s just a laugh, that’s all.
Brady: Xander, you had nicole under your thumb, then you decided to destroy her marriage in the most hurtful and humiliating way so I wanna know why you did it and why you did it now.
Sami: I didn’t actually make you cheat on your husband, nicole, sorry.
Nicole: You. You put xander up to this. I know you did. You are the reason he showed up here.
Sami: You are not blaming me for cheating on your husband. It’s pathetic. You know, when I saw you and xander going into the salem inn together, I thought, “oh, boy, there’s nicole up to her old tricks.” Eric used to be a priest. He takes those vows seriously. You ever heard of the ten commandments? “Thou shalt not commit adultery”?
Nicole: Oh, you’re quoting the bible, now? Well, here’s a verse for you. “Let she who is without sin cast the first stone.”
[Door slams shut]
[Melancholy music]
Eric: [Exhales deeply]
Xander: She was furious at eric for leaving her all alone with his niece and those two little brats for three more months and she wanted to get back at him. And what better way to do that then to jump into bed with me, where I showed her a damn good time. The truth is, eric, she just couldn’t get enough of me.
Nicole: [Sobbing] I am so sorry.
[Pounding on door]
Eric: Go away!
Roman: It’s us, son, me and your mom. Open the door.
Marlena: Honey, we’re not leaving until we talk to you.
Xander: Who are you to give me a hard time about nicole? When you found out that she was cheating on you with eric, you forced her to leave town with a baby in her arms.
Brady: Yeah, I did that. I did that because at the time, I wanted nicole and it… it was just injury to my pride, xander, and it didn’t do anything for me. Nothing, because eric and nicole found their way back to each other because they belong together. But it just doesn’T… it doesn’t make sense, why you did what you did. You already used your one-night stand to blackmail nicole to get you a nice cushy job at basic black, so why would you throw it away?
Xander: Who says I have?
Brady: Oh, trust me, cuz, you’re history. And don’t ask me for a reference.
Xander: Should’ve known you’d do this.
Brady: Yeah, you should’ve. You had your little fun and now you’re broke and unemployable, so I go back to my original question. Why did you do it? I don’t even think you’re stupid enough to think that nicole would just go into your arms after you blew up her marriage. So that leaves one reason,
Xander: Good old-fashioned money, right?
Xander: What money? You just told me I lost my job.
Brady: What don’t you want me to see?
Xander: [Scoffs] I don’t care what you see.
Brady: That’s funny because I walked in here and you have not moved from that spot since I came through that door. What do we have there?
[Intriguing music]
Brady: Looks like somebody paid you off to ruin eric and nicole’s relationship. Who the hell was it?
Chloe: I still can’t wrap my head around the fact that nicole actually slept with xander.
Philip: This must be very hard for you. Why don’t you let me take you home?
Chloe: I can’t go home without knowing that brady’s okay. I’m sure he went after xander.
Philip: I hope he beats the crap out of him.
Chloe: Well, he’s recovering from a really bad accident. I’m afraid what xander might do.
Philip: Where’re you going?
John: Samantha, your mother and father, they’re not coming back tonight. Belle and I, we’re, uh, we’re gonna head on out.
Belle: Yeah, I’m glad that mom and roman are with eric though. Poor guy.
Sami: I mean, it was only a matter of time before something like this happened.
Belle: Didn’t surprise you, though, huh?
Sami: Well, it shouldn’t have surprised any of us. I mean, this is nicole walker we’re talking about.
Belle: Actually, it’s nicole brady, and she seems to think you had something to do with what xander did tonight.
Sami: Oh, please, she thinks I’m behind climate change. She’s just trying to point the finger. I’m sure she’s chasing after eric right now, begging for forgiveness.
EJ: Eric is a deeply religious man, but I think it would be hard for any husband to forgive what nicole did.
Sami: You know what? This has been such an awful night. Let’s just get out of here.
EJ: Of course.
Sami: Good night. Good night, john.
John: Good night, samantha.
Belle: Yup. Sami couldn’t get out of here fast enough.
John: Sweetheart–
Belle: I wonder why.
John: Do you– do you really think that sami had something to do with xander outing nicole?
Belle: Yes, I more than know it.
John: But she loves her brother.
Belle: Yeah, well, she hates nicole. She thinks nicole’s the worst thing that ever happened to eric, dad. You know that.
John: Yeah, I do, but– you think that she would set her own brother up to be humiliated like he was tonight?
Belle: Well, she’s telling herself that he’ll be better off, that he’ll get over it.
John: Really?
Belle: Yes. I know my sister. She hates nicole for keeping sydney from her for so long. So she saw a chance to make nicole feel the same kind of pain and she took it. And I bet she did not give one thought to how that would hurt eric.
Eric: I know why you came. There’s nothing that you can say that’s gonna make it any better. My wife slept with a pig, xander. She hates the man! I flew 14 hours to be with nicole on our anniversary and now I know. I know what our marriage means to her now.
Roman: It means a lot.
Marlena: Look, your father’s right. You know, you and nicole have been through some rough spots before. You’ve always fought your way back together. I think that kind of love can get through almost anything.
Eric: No, not this time.
Marlena: Eric–
Eric: No! Not this time! I’m sorry. Thank you for coming over, but I really want to be alone right now.
Marlena: [Softly] Eric… I’m so sorry. We love you so much. And we’re so proud of you, of the work that you do, the man that you’ve become. Oh, darling. Oh, I know it’s cold comfort right now, but you’ll get through this. And we will be here the whole time. Whatever we can do. We’ll be here for you.
Roman: We love you, son, all right? And like your mom says, right, anything you need, any time you want to talk. You got that? I love you, all right?
Eric: I know you guys are here for me. I love you.
Marlena: Call us for anything at all.
Eric: [Sniffles]
[Exhales shakily]
Nicole: [Crying softly] God, you know, an hour ago, I was the unhappiest woman in the world and now I can’t believe how lucky I am.
[Emotional music]
[Glass shatters]
[Intriguing music]
Brady: So, who hired you to ruin my brother’s marriage?
Xander: It’s none of your damned business.
Brady: Uh-huh.
Xander: But did you see the look on your pious brother’s face when I told him I’d had his bride? I’d have done it for free just for that.
Brady: Tell me who hired you, xander. How much did you get, huh?
Chloe: Brady!
Xander: Get your hands off my money! Oh, and now look who’s come to rescue you. I’m afraid your… favorite songbird isn’t gonna be much help. Not with that broken wing. Hey, I am sorry that we’re not gonna be working together anymore, but could you do me a favor? Get your boss out of my sight.
Chloe: Are you okay?
Brady: Nah, I’m fine. That briefcase is full of money. He pretty much admitted to me that he was paid to do what he did tonight. I tried to get a name out of him but I–
Chloe: But I stormed in and ruined it; I’m so sorry.
Brady: No, no, chloe, no. He wasn’t gonna talk anyway.
Chloe: Well, after you left, nicole accused sami of setting this up. We both know that she hates nicole.
Brady: And if there’s one person who can get that kind of money quickly, it’s samantha brady dimera.
Sami: Oh, what a night. Poor eric. Tried to warn him about nicole. He just wouldn’t listen.
EJ: He’s in love with her.
Sami: I just never understood it.
EJ: I thought you wanted a nightcap.
Sami: I changed my mind. I’m just so worked up, I thought maybe a nice warm shower might help me calm down. If you would, uh, like to join me?
EJ: Mm, as tempting as that is, I have a question for you first.
Sami: Okay, shoot.
EJ: What did nicole mean when she said, “let she who is without sin cast the first stone”?
Sami: I don’t know. Ugh, this button is crazy. Um, I think maybe she just found religion, that’s all.
EJ: It sounded like an accusation. What sin have you committed now, samantha?
[Dramatic music]
Belle: I don’t remember, do you take milk in your tea?
John: No, not at all, honey.
Belle: Okay, good.
John: [Sighs]
Belle: How are you?
John: I can’t shake this theory that you have that sami’s behind this. Belle, if… if she arranged for eric to have to go through this, maybe it was because she thought that eric needed to know the truth.
Belle: There are plenty of other ways he could’ve learned the truth, dad. Sami could’ve told him privately, calmly, kindly. What she just did to him was cruel.
John: But if she just went to eric and she told him privately, I don’t think he would’ve believed her.
Belle: I mean, I– probably not. And I don’t know that sami and xander were in cahoots, but nicole seems to think so. And my gut tells me she’s right. For some reason, sami wanted to take nicole down in public.
[Keys jingle]
Marlena: Hi.
John: So how is eric?
Marlena: Not good. Not good.
[Brooding string music]
Nicole: I can’t believe we’re finally married.
Eric: We have a lot of– a lot of time to make up for.
Nicole: Yes, we do. We have a whole lifetime together.
Eric: [Whispers] I love you so much.
Nicole: I love you.
[Door opens]

Bold & The Beautiful Transcript

Transcript provided by and proofread by Suzanne
Finn: Marry me. Right here. Right now.
Steffy: You wanna get married right now like… this is our wedding? Really?
Finn: Yeah, I mean, if you want it to be. Yes. I mean, let’s just do it with Hayes as our witness.
Steffy: He’s a baby, Finn.
Finn: I know he’s a baby, but he’s our baby. And with Kelly, we’re this beautiful little family. Steffy Forrester, you take this ring, and will you make that commitment to me?
Singer: I’m gonna take my time because I need to got to see through I’m done with the smoke and facing my own fears now, it’s all clear
Ellen: Looks really good.
[ Camera shutters ]
Singer: There’s nothing that reminds me of you
Ellen: Okay. Let’s do this. Beautiful. Great. Amazing. Yes. Gorgeous.
Brooke: Thank you so much for doing this. When the magazine asked me who I wanted to photograph me, of course, I said you, because you’re the absolute best.
Ellen: Oh, thank you.
Brooke: And I just wanna thank you so much for fitting me in. I know how in-demand you are.
Ellen: Oh, never too busy for a friend.
Brooke: Aww, thanks. I would have waited, you know, because only you can make me look so formidable.
Ellen: [ Chuckles ] No, come on. You’re such a legend and you’re gorgeous. Look at you.
Ridge: Couldn’t agree with you more. Hey, heard you were in the building. [ Speaks German ]
Ellen: Hello. Good. So good to see you again.
Ridge: [ Speaks German ]
Ellen: Oh, yes.
Brooke: Hey, Ellen agreed to do that article that I was telling you about.
Ridge: That article. Yeah, yeah. How is that going, good?
Brooke: Uh, good. Yeah, this is going good, I’m a little bit rusty, so Ellen is being really patient, but I’m kinda getting it. Yeah.
Ellen: Don’t listen to her. She–she still got it.
[ Laughter ]
Ridge: I know that better than anyone.
Ellen: Yeah. Oh? [ Laughs ] Look at that. A little flirty.
[ Camera shutters ]
[ Birds chirping ]
Carter: I just had to do that one last time.
Quinn: I’m so glad you did.
Paris: Well, can I put it in storage for now? Okay. Thank you. That’s great. I’ll see you soon. Moving company.
Zende: You found a new place?
Paris: Not yet. And the lease on Zoe’s place is up, so…
Zende: Is she really not coming back here?
Paris: Not any time soon. I mean, honestly, I can’t even blame her. Especially with the way things went down with Quinn and Carter? I’d be trying to put that behind me too. I know you’re friends with Carter, but honestly, what was–what was he thinking getting mixed up with Quinn? They hurt so many people.
Quinn: Eric really told you to throw my portrait away?
Carter: Uh-hmm. Yeah, he asked me to get rid of it, but I couldn’t.
Quinn: Hmm, aww, that’s very sweet of you. But haven’t I gotten you in enough trouble as it is?
Carter: [ Chuckles ] Don’t worry, Eric and Ridge will never see it.
Quinn: I’m not just talking about the portrait.
Carter: I know.
Quinn: Uh-hmm.
Carter: I wish there was a way around it, but Eric was very clear.
Quinn: Uh-hmm.
Carter: Uh-hmm. I can’t have anything to do with you, if I wanna be with him and the Forresters.
Quinn: That’s… totally understandable.
Carter: Uh-hmm. I am representing him in his divorce from you with, uh– it’s a major conflict of interest.
Quinn: [ Sighs ] Yes. It would be… if this would going to continue. But it’s not. But–
Carter: Uh-hmm.
Quinn: –If all we have is this moment… then I’m going to make the most of it.
Steffy: You are the craziest, most romantic man, Dr. Finnegan.
Finn: We have the rings. We have the witness. We can do it right here.
Steffy: Okay. I–
Finn: We can go to the beach.
Steffy: I know, baby. I adore you for thinking about this and I do think it’s really sweet. The way you love me and Hayes, and Kelly, it really melts my heart. But having a wedding right now, like getting married? You really wanna just race into this?
Paris: I had no idea what Eric would do when the truth came out. I knew the marriage would be over. But Carter is the COO of the company.
Zende: And he’s been a major player at Forrester for a long time. The family relies on him.
Paris: Making his betrayal even worse in a sense, right?
Zende: So much worse. Uh, this could have been devastating for him. I mean, he risked everything, Paris. I mean, it’s definitely gonna have an impact. The fact that he still works here, I mean, that must feel like a miracle in itself.
Paris: Yeah, well, I mean, that’s just a testament to what kind of man Eric is, he’s generosity.
Zende: Yeah, but he is no push-over. I mean, Carter did not get away with anything. Nobody, I mean, nobody is gonna feel the same way about him again. Or trust him this much.
Paris: Especially around Quinn.
Quinn: I have never believed in silver linings before, but… I don’t know, I feel so lucky to spend this time with you. You are such an honest man. You’re strong, smart… oh, you’re sexy. [ Chuckles ] You know, thanks to you, a part of me feels so free.
Carter: From what?
Quinn: What? From– [ Sighs ] From being Mrs. Eric Forrester. I’m always feeling like I can never measure up. Always scared that my marriage is about to end and that I’m just– just not good enough.
Carter: I’m sorry you felt that way.
Quinn: No, me too. You know, I’ve been thinking a lot about– about Eric, our marriage and what happened. Then I think about you… everything between us. Brooke made it seem so ugly and shameful. I’m sure Eric did too, but–
Carter: But it–it wasn’t. And even if we can’t see each other anymore, I won’t stop thinking about you. Or what we mean to each other.
[ Camera shutters ]
Ellen: What do you think?
[ Camera shutters ] Oh, you know, I want your eyes to meet across the room.
Ridge: You want me to look at my hot wife? I can do that, one of my favorite things to do.
Ellen: Yeah. But, you know what, actually instead of if you go in you look closer. Oh, come on.
Ridge: Okay. I’ll do one.
Ellen: Yes, please. Just like that. [ Laughs ] Oh, there you go. Yeah, don’t forget about me. I’m still here. Yes. [ Laughs ] Okay. And why don’t you do a little dip?
Brooke: [ Giggling ]
Ellen: Oh, my god. [ Laughs ] Amazing. Okay. Wonderful. I think you got that.
Brooke: We got it? Thank you so much. Yes.
Brooke: Oh, wow. See? Told you it wouldn’t take so long.
Ridge: Of course, because you and you’re a pro.
Ellen: Listen, you both are wonderful and it was so much fun and such a pleasure to work with you.
Brooke: Thank you again for doing this, really.
Ellen: Yes, and soon you have to come to Paris.
Brooke: Of course, we’d love that.
Ellen: Yeah. And visit some [ Indistinct ] We look at the Eiffel Tower.
Ridge: Sounds lovely.
Brooke: That would be amazing. But at least we got to catch up now here in Los Angeles.
Ellen: Yeah, exactly. And I’m so proud I got to be part of the Ridge and Brooke legacy.
Ridge: The legacy is [ Indistinct ]
Brooke: Oh, thank you. Your legacy, honey.
Ridge: [ Speaks German ]
Brooke: Oh, hug.
Ellen: So–so much fun.
Brooke: Thank you so much.
Ellen: Thank you and see you soon. Yeah. Mwah. Can you take this down?
[ Laughter ]
Steffy: I’m not saying no. But we really got to think about this, because we just had a baby and we are so busy right now. And we’re exhausted half the time plus, I haven’t even met your family. Look, we don’t have to rush into saying our vows, just yet. Unless there is a reason you don’t wanna have a big wedding. Is there?
Ridge: Well, it was fun, it was good to see Ellen.
Brooke: Oh, yeah, it was.
Ridge: Let me ask you something. This photo-shoot, you didn’t really tell me about that, did you?
Brooke: Uh, no. No, I didn’t actually.
Ridge: Uh-hmm. Why not?
Brooke: Uh, I had my reasons.
Ridge: Really? So this is gonna be a surprise or…
Brooke: Well, if I tell you, then it wouldn’t really be a surprise, would it? Anyway, it’s kind of a way to keep out marriage exciting.
Ridge: Uh-hmm.&
Brooke: By keeping you on your toes.
Ridge: I like being on my toes.
Brooke: Uh-hmm?
Ridge: Yeah.
Finn: No, of course not. You know, if it’s a– a big wedding that you want, that’s what you’ll have. Even if I have to wait. Look, I’m gonna ask you something and I want you to be honest with me. And also with yourself. You’re desired to hold off on our marriage. Does it have anything to do with Liam?
Quinn: Hmm, it’s happening again.
Carter: What?
Quinn: All the stress and anxiety that I’m feeling and then, I just– I look into your eyes and it just melts away. We can’t– we can’t be doing this. We can’t be together and… just for the record, I was the one who was at the door, but you’re the one who stopped me from leaving. It was you.
Carter: Yeah, it was me and I shouldn’t have. But I don’t regret it.
Quinn: No, there’s too much at stake. We need to move on. I will battle back like I always do. And you’re gonna rebuild your reputation and someday, you’re gonna see some beautifully young fit model walking down the halls of Forrester Creations and you’re gonna be like, “I’m gonna build a life with you.”
Carter: That’s not what I want.
Quinn: What do you want?
[ Phone beeps ]
Brooke: Oh, let’s see who that is. It’s Ellen. She said the editor loved the photos and she sent me a link to the article already. Wow. Okay.
Ridge: Wow.
Brooke: Yeah.
Ridge: She is so good. See, these pictures are incredible. But they’re all of you and me together, I thought this article is gonna be on you.
Brooke: Surprise. [ Laughs ] We’ve been through so much lately, Ridge, and I just thought this was a good way to honor our love and our relationship… and our legacy.
Ridge: Very sweet. Oh, here is the article. Oh, that’s not good. Brooke and Ridge Forrester, co-CEO’s of Forrester Creations, well, that’s a mistake. We gotta get that fixed. It won’t make Steffy very happy, will it?
Steffy: Is Liam the reason I–I don’t wanna rush into marriage? No.
Finn: Think about it, I don’t need you to answer it right away.
Steffy: I don’t need to think about it. It’s obvious.
Finn: Because I know how much you loved him, Steffy. And you have Kelly together.
Steffy: Yeah, he’s Kelly’s father. He’s always gonna be around, but I’m committed to you. We don’t need a piece of paper to validate that. I can’t wait to meet your family. Two parents who raised a young, successful doctor. I bet your father is– is handsome as you. [ Laughter ] So let’s do it, okay? But we invite your parents over because I need to meet them. The sooner, the better.
Quinn: If we keep doing this, I’m going to get the feeling that you are not quite done with me yet.
Carter: You might be right. But if anyone found out…
Quinn: No, no, no, no, no, no. That can’t happen. We don’t want that to happen again.
Carter: Okay. So what are we doing?
Quinn: I think we are living in the moment. Giving in to our impulses.
Carter: Uh-hmm. Or most reckless desires.
Quinn: Yeah.
Carter: We were doomed from the start.
Quinn: I just don’t want this to end.
Carter: And neither do I.
Quinn: [ Sighs ] You know, I know– I know I should be mourning the end of my marriage. I can’t help feeling so at peace. I’ve ruined so many lives like a human wrecking ball. And I don’t wanna do that to you. You keep trying to pull away and move on. I don’t wanna go. I just wanna stay… stay right here with you. But… I know that can’t happen. And this has to end. And eventually, we’re going to have our last kiss. And say… goodbye.
Carter: Just a kiss?
Quinn: Oh.

Interview with Tim Rozon of “SurrealEstate” on Syfy by Suzanne 7/8/21
I enjoyed speaking with Tim again about this new show! It’s a good show and very enjoyable. He was very nice in the interview as you’ll see. I hope the show is a big success!
Originally, I was supposed to interview his co-star, Sarah Levy, as well, but she had a conflict. Then, after I left the interview room, she was out there, waiting to go to someone else’s interview. I guess her other meeting ended early. So I took the opportunity to say hi and tell her how much I loved her show. When I mentioned that I had watched 8 episodes, she said, “8 episodes? I’ve only seen one!” just like Tim does in this interview! I laughed and said, “Press room…you gotta go to the press room. Someone get this woman access to the show!” She said, “Well, I guess I would have to be a member of the press, then.” I said, “I guess so.” It was so funny that she had the same exact reaction.
We were told to only ask 2 questions (although, as you’ll see, some people asked more than that), but he couldn’t answer my first question because of some secret project that he’s on (or auditioned for), so I asked two more.
Suzanne: Hi, Tim.
Tim: Hey, how are you?
Suzanne: All right. When I chatted with you in March, you had blonde hair, and I thought it was for this role, but apparently not. So, what role was it for?
Tim: Yeah, these are these are things that I cannot talk about.
Suzanne: Oh, okay. That’s fine. So, let me ask you a simple question. Somebody else will probably ask you, but do you believe in ghosts in real life?
Tim: Yeah, the answer is is complicated, because had you asked me preproduction of SurrealEstate, I would have said “no.” Postproduction, now after going through it, I’m not so sure anymore. Now, I myself did not experience anything surreal, but we did have a number of guest stars that did have a ghostly experience. They all stayed at the same very famous hotel in Newfoundland, which is supposedly haunted. I won’t say the name of it. Actually, people probably want to go there, because it’s haunted, but I don’t think they’re known as being a haunted hotel, or they want to be known as being haunted. But, yeah, a lot of guest stars, they experienced something. So, that’s a lot of people to be in on some sort of plot or lie to say that there’s something else ghostly among us.
Suzanne: Wow. Well, maybe it’s the power of suggestion. I don’t know.
Tim: I don’t know. I don’t know.
Suzanne: So, the show has some quirky humor in it. Is it all in the script, or do they let the actors put things in?
Tim: I mean, George Olsen, the showrunner, head writer, creator, he’s one of the smartest people I’ve ever met. He’s also one of the funniest, a really, really dry wit. It makes a lot of sense actually, why they hired Sarah [Levy], because they’re both very smart and very comedic and smart in their comedy. I don’t know if that makes sense, but, yeah, I think he understood how strong Sarah is at comedy. So, Susan had a lot more of it than Luke. Luke went into the comedy a little bit mostly with the Susan stuff, to be honest. Yeah, a lot of credit, I would say, to the cast, the incredible cast that was hired. They’re all great at it. They have the ability to do both the scary stuff and the comedy. So, that’s a great casting, starting with Sarah and then, you know, Adam Korson, Savannah Basley, Tennille Read, Maurice Dean Wint, they just all are able to do it great. So, that’s great. And I find Luke’s kind of like the straight guy of the comedy troupe, so I can do that.
Suzanne: All right. I love the eight episodes. I can’t wait to see the rest.
Tim: What? You saw all eight?!
Suzanne: All eight, yeah.
Tim: Tell me. I haven’t seen anything.
Suzanne: Somebody get this man a link to the press site so he can see it. Thank you so much.
Tim: Thank you.
Question: So, speaking of guest stars, can you talk about what it was like reuniting with Melanie [Scrofano] for Episode Three?
Tim: Yeah, it was great, especially because, before the two episodes she directed, she guest starred, which I think was a really great way to do it, because she gets to meet the whole crew before she has to direct. But working with Mel, it’s just, we know each other so well, and it was a real kick to see her in a totally different character than Wynonna, because she’s such a strong actor, too, that she brought none of Wynonna to the new character. It’s an interesting character. I mean, I don’t want to spoil too much, but she has a lot to play with, and she does it quite remarkably. But, yeah, I mean, I love acting with her, and if I could work on every show for the rest of my career with her, I wouldn’t complain.
Question: Luke has the ability to see and talk to ghosts. Is that something that you wish you could do? Or would you rather have some other supernatural power?
Tim: No, definitely not; speaking to ghosts is not for me. My favorite superhero is the Silver Surfer. This is a guy who sits alone on a surfboard in the in the cosmos just floating around thinking about life. He’s pretty much a loner. So, that’s where my head’s at if I’m going to go into the superhero realm of things. I definitely don’t want to speak to ghosts. No.
Question: Working on this series, has it changed your opinion of realtors at all?
Tim: One hundred percent, yeah. I mean, there’s so much that goes on there that I didn’t know. It was tricky. There’s a whole new lingo to real estate that I was not aware of that I had to learn, and it is a true thing that if a house is haunted, well, implied to be haunted, it will affect the market value of that house. These are real things that I had no idea, but, then, you look into it, and they’re all real. Very cool stuff. Yeah. Very cool stuff. I started looking at houses differently too, like when I came home, I’m like, “Okay, you know what? The bathroom’s in a good spot. Okay, we’re good. We’re good.”
Question: I love you as Luke, what was it that drew you to be a part of this role?
Tim: Oh, you know, it was one of those things. I was still filming Wynonna [Earp] when the opportunity came up, and I was screen testing on the weekend for this and doing Zooms with George and Danishka [Esterhazy] and trying to convince them that I was the right Luke. The thing that I think drew me to it was it was so different than Doc Holliday that I was playing at the time, and there was so much work. You know, Doc Holliday really doesn’t talk too much, and Luke, he talks a lot. So, to be honest, I was pretty scared, in a good way, like in a challenge way. I never had any doubt that I could do it, but it was a lot to do, and I was up to the challenge, I’ll say that. I was excited for it. I was excited to get into a new role. I was excited to shave, to be honest.
Question: Well, that was one iconic mustache.
Tim: Yeah, great on set, but walking around in real life [is another thing].
Question: This is a wonderful, because it combines drama; it combines comedy. Was that something that was really exciting for you as well?
Tim: One hundred percent. I mean, life every day, it throws everything at us. You know, sometimes these television shows they just lean into one way of the way things have to be. A lot of people, including myself, deal with scary things with humor. You know, if I’m scared, I’m the first person that’s gonna be laughing. Like if we’re on a camping trip, and it’s dark, and someone’s telling ghost stories, I’m laughing, because the alternative is just not fun. I’d rather be laughing than be scared.
Question: What do you think it is then about SurrealEstate that’s gonna make it such a fast fan favorite sci-fi hit?
Tim: The group, the family dynamic. You know, it’s cool, because we deal with a different, I’ll say, house, every episode, and that house has a different surreality to it. You know, there’s something about that house that quite isn’t right. And at the same time, there’s something about the people who are selling or trying to fix that house that there’s something not right about each and every one of us. And it’s going to be the audience’s kind of joy to figure out what those things are. But I think as a team, when we come together, we really mesh well together. You know, it’s one of those things where it shows you that family is what you make family to be, and I think we find our family. I think they’re are a bunch of loners who don’t really have anybody who kind of found home in each other, and at the same time, they’re dealing with ghosts, perhaps.
Question: So, you’ve already mentioned that SurrealEstate follows a house of the week type format where there’s a new property to sell each episode, but also sprinkled in are these little pieces of Luke’s backstory, and the viewer gradually sees how layered and complex he is. Can you talk about his personal journey this season?
Tim: Yeah, I mean, you just did a great job of it, I thought. I’m gonna copy/paste that going forward. Yeah, I mean, it’s complex. He’s got a lot going on, and we’ll will figure out – the layers will start to come away, and you’ll start to figure out who Luke is. I think the first couple episodes people are going to think he’s a certain way, and then later will realize he’s maybe not all business all the time. There is a sensitive side to him. He’s a complex character, which I loved. And I love in the beginning, I think, he’s been through all this stuff before so many times that I think it’s great that the Susan character comes, because Luke, he can take a little joy in watching her go through some of the things that he’s well accustomed to at this point.
Question: He doesn’t bat an eye when all this crazy stuff happens around him.
Tim: Yeah.
Question: You spoke about Susan, and Luke hires her as the newest member at the Roman Agency. Your colleagues there always comment about the high turnover for new hires. What do you think Luke sees in her that would make her a valuable addition to the group?
Tim: Well, number one, I think they’ve known about each other in this business for quite some time, and I think he has a lot of respect for what she can do as a salesperson. At the end of the day, Luke Roman loves to sell houses. He’s a salesman, and he loves real estate, and so does Susan Ireland. No matter what they’re dealing with, trust me, every episode, they want to sell that house that they’re dealing with. So, I think it’s a lot of mutual respect and kind of what I got into before, he enjoys that he’s kind of been through some of the stuff she’s going through now, I mean, within selling the houses, the specialty houses she was not accustomed to selling before.

MORE INFO:
Tim’s first major role was playing heartthrob Tommy Quincy opposite Alexz Johnson and Laura Vandervoort for four seasons on the teen drama series “Instant Star” for TeenNick (USA) and CTV (Canada). He was then cast as the series lead Alex Caine, playing a gang infiltrator, in “Befriend and Betray” for Shaw TV (Canada). Recent series leads include playing Mutt Schitt on the Emmy juggernaut and Golden Globe winning CBC/Netflix hit comedy “Schitt’s Creek” opposite comedy icons Eugene Levy, Dan Levy, Catherine O’Hara and Chris Elliott; Doc Holliday, the infamous lawman and charismatic gambler, on the fan-fave SyFy series “Wynonna Earp”; Constable Carson Myers, stand up RCMP officer and love interest, on the CBC series “Diggstown” opposite Natasha Henstridge and Vinessa Antoine; Isaac, lawyer turned outer space rogue, in the SyFy series Vagrant Queen. Tim is delighted to currently be playing the series leading role of Luke Roman, a real estate agent specializing in haunted homes, on SyFy’s new series “SurrealEstate.”
Tim won a prestigious Gemini Award (the “Canadian Emmy”) for his performance in the series “Flashpoint” (CTV/CBS) and was nominated for another Gemini for work in “Befriend and Betray”. Tim was thrilled when “Wynonna Earp” won the People’s Choice Award for Best Sci-Fi/Fantasy show in both 2018 and 2020.
Off camera, Tim has many talents in the entertainment business. He is a voiceover actor, most notably playing a leading role in the animated feature film “The Legend of Sarila”, opposite Christopher Plummer and Genevieve Bujold. He produced the documentary feature “Shuckers”, about the world of oysters and those who shuck them. And he is very proud of his work co-writing multiple “Wynonna Earp” graphic novels with creator Beau Smith for IDW.
When not acting, Tim plays the role of restaurateur in Montreal at his hit restaurants Garde Manger and Le Bremner opposite star chef Chuck Hughes
“SurrealEstate” follows real estate agent Luke Roman and an elite team of specialists that handle the cases no one else can: haunted and possessed houses that literally scare would-be buyers away. Researching, investigating and “fixing” the things that go bump in the night, the team works to create closure – and closings – even as they struggle with demons of their own.

“Pennyworth: The Complete 2nd Season [Blu-ray]” Review by Suzanne 7/14/21
I apologize for the lateness of this review…they usually send me these weeks in advance, but this one came a day late.
I love this show. Then again, I love anything remotely related to Batman. Also, Bruno Heller is co-creator of the series, and he developed the TV series “Gotham” on FOX, which I also loved. Both shows are prequels for “Batman” but have their own unique stories and twisted histories. Unlike “Gotham,” this series has very little to do with Batman. It centers on the Cold War history of Alfred, Batman’s “butler,” and Batman’s parents, Bruce and Martha. This is all original to the show, although I’m sure they were heavily influenced by both “Gotham” and the comics.
Yet this is still a fantasy show because there are public executions in London, and a secret society called The Raven Society tries to take over the British government. We know from “Gotham” that Alfred is a former SAS officer, so they’ve expanded on that quite a bit. He has PTSD in this series but runs a security firm. In this season season, he runs a black market club in Soho, and he might be moving to America soon.
The first season was very good. I’ve enjoyed this second season as well. Like the first season, it has a lot of action (violence), intrigue, and complex stories. There are many characters to keep track of, but not too many. I didn’t find it hard to follow, or boring. I love these kinds of shows.
I hope it gets a third season as well. The general theory out on the net seems to be that the show will move to HBO Max. We’ll have to wait and see what happens there.
Unfortunately, there are no features at all. That’s too bad.

Pennyworth: The Complete Second Season
Available on Blu-ray & DVD 7/13/21
A year after the explosive events of last season, England finds itself embroiled in a devastating civil war, with the powerful, neo-fascist Raven Union, led by Lord Harwood (Jason Flemyng) threatening to control the entire country. North London remains one of the few resistance holdouts remaining. It’s here in the West End Neutral Zone, that we find Alfred Pennyworth (Jack Bannon). After years in the British Army, his training with the SAS has taught him to be a cynical optimist – expecting the worst, but knowing that he can handle it. Now running The Delaney, a black-market Soho club that welcomes everyone, regardless of their politics, Alfred, with his SAS mates, “Bazza” (Hainsley Lloyd Bennett) and “Daveboy” (Ryan Fletcher), is now in search of a way out – before London, and his country, burns itself to the ground. And he’s got his eye on America.
