I’m just waiting on some news about an iron in the fire. That’s all. Well, since you both, uh, treated us for dinner, spence and I insist on cleaning up. Yeah. Come on, spence. Thank you, esme. You really don’t like spencer’s girlfriend, do you? It’s not about like. I just don’t trust her. I thank you for your time, chief scorpio, and I expect action to be taken on this matter…tonight. Scout inherited drew’s shares when he was declared dead, but now that he’s alive, that calls into question drew shares that sam signed over to valentin. Which means that valentin’s majority hold on elq is a question. And he’s not gonna take this lying down, which is why I need to act fast, while he’s still recovering from the pain of realizing that bailey’s no longer his daughter.

[ Chuckles ] Okay. Alright. Just say it. Tell me I’m a jerk for even thinking about this when we just learned that drew is still alive and… jason probably isn’T. Actually, I’m gonna shock you right now and I’m not gonna say any of that. In fact, I think that where valentin is involved, staying ahead of the situation is absolutely the right move. Brook lynn. What’s going on? You were watching bailey one second, and then you just bounced. Sorry. I’m just…overwhelmed. Trying to process everything we just learned, you know? Everything drew told us. The miracle that he’s alive. The fact that jason isn’T. Just…it puts all of our personal drama — the fact that my dad is disappointed in me again — in perspective. All the sacrifices that we’re making for bailey, they’ll be worth it in the end. They have to, because not everyone is so lucky. Not everyone is going home to their loved ones tonight.

I tried to think about my life here to give me strength. Mostly scout. Thinking about her definitely got me through those two brutal years. But at the same time, I can’t expect to charge back into my life in port charles and have someone as young as scout just welcome me with open arms. A lot can change in two years. Exactly my point. I don’t even really know what a return to my life in port charles even means. [ Chuckles ] Um, got your message that you needed my assistance? I appreciate you coming over here, especially at the last minute over the holidays. Oh, well. Can’t say it was much of a celebration. Turkey dinner was long over, georgie’s with maxie, and ellie is… well, we’re — we’re not even on speaking terms, so… can’t say I have that much to be thankful for. But, uh — sorry. You said it was urgent. How — how can I help? I need you to trace a call for me. You know renault is in prison? Somehow, he got ahold of a — of a burner phone. Cyrus renault called you from prison? On thanksgiving? How distressing. I need you to figure out what’s going on. Yeah. Um, why did he — why did — why did he call you? He probably heard about jason, got the news, and wanted to call me to taunt me. “Heard about jason”? Is he — is he — is he back from greece? You don’t know? Don’t know what, exactly? I’m surprised you even know about this place. When jason and I were on the run, we had a lot of downtime. Did you know that the original bridge was torn down? It wasn’t safe. So jason made an anonymous donation, and they built this bridge in its place. Hmm. I didn’t know that part.

[ Inhales shakily ]

[ Voice breaking ] But knowing this — this place had such significance to jason, I… I thought maybe I’d feel closer to him if I came here. I imagine you had the same idea. Long before the wedding we just had, before I was involved with jax, even before sonny, jason was my person. My other half, as strange as that may sound. I know.

[ Sniffles ] When jason and i were in the lighthouse, he talked a lot about you. Well [Chuckles] A lot for jason. So I-I-I know how much you two mean to each other. I get why you’re here. Do you want me to go? Look, I know what this is doing to maxie and to valentin, to everyone. How devastated charlotte’s gonna be when she finds out that bailey isn’t her baby sister. Not to mention what this is doing to bailey. I mean, she’s bonding with the wrong woman as her mother. And what about you? What about me? I mean, aren’t you hurting? Me? My part in this is basically telling some lies, which is a skill I acquired at a young age and have nearly perfected. Well, and taking care of bailey, which surprisingly, I’m pretty good at. See? That’s my point. Valentin, maxie, charlotte, of course, they’re — they’re sad right now, but one day, when this secret comes out and bailey goes back to maxie, you are gonna be the one who’s suffering. Have you thought about that? Okay, fine. It’s gonna hurt everyone. But after the information that we just learned, that peter is responsible for jason’s death, that he imprisoned drew for over two years, it proves that we are doing the right thing keeping bailey safe from peter. Maxie made the right decision. Well, now that peter’s in custody with the wsb, maybe we won’t have to keep up this pretense much longer. From your lips.

[ Clears throat ] Chief, what are you doing here? Chase. Uh, sorry to bother the family on a holiday, but I need to ask you some questions about valentin. May I remind you that this is my house and I like him. I know that you don’t li him, and I know that you two haven’t gotten along for awhile. Spencer: Haven’t gotten along for awhile? The man tried to kill me when I was a child. I guess I missed a lot while I was away. That would be the way your father framed an event from your childhood. Alright, alright, alright, alright. It is thanksgiving. It is a day to be grateful. So if the two of you could put aside your dueling resentments for a few hours, I’d be grateful. Fine. I will always be grateful that in 2021, we finally learned the truth that valentin is helena’s bastard child and he has zero claim to anything cassadine. That’s not being grateful, spencer. He shouldn’t even be able to use the last name “cassadine.”

[ Doorbell rings ]

[ Sighs ] What fresh hell is this? Happy thanksgiving. We brought pies. Alexis? Is this a bad time? You have no idea.

Home along tonight. W-which is why we brought pies — pumpkin and pecan. That’s very generous. But as you can see… I’m far from alone. Happy thanksgiving, everyone. You know, on second thought, maybe a quiet thanksgiving at wyndemere would be better. Good idea. Come on, spence. It’s a holiday. This is your chance to show you’re the bigger man. Well, you promised me your thanksgiving gathering wouldn’t be boring. You sure did deliver on that. Wait. You think this is a good idea? Getting ahead of valentin? You know that’s equivalent to declaring war with him, right? What your daughter did to valentin…that hurt. He’s gonna be mad. He’s gonna want revenge. And when the dust settles, of course he’s — he’s gonna try to undermine drew’s shares of the quartermaine stock. I mean this as a compliment — how very quartermaine of you. Well, I guess you can take the girl out of brooklyn, but you know how the saying goes. I know that I can be reactionary. But over the past year, I — slowly but surely, I — I’ve come to realize that your head is back on your shoulders again. You know, I feel like I can trust your intentions, not just with leo, but — but with the family. Does that include you and me? Before we butted heads about leo, I really felt like we were on our way toward a reconciliation. Where does that leave us now? You have always been so incredibly kind to me — more than I deserve, especially considering the mess and the trauma my arrival caused. Oh, come on. This family thrives on strife and drama.

[ Chuckles ] It just shows you’re one of the tribe. Hmm. I mean, you wouldn’t be a quartermaine if you weren’t stirring things up. I see you redecorated. Oh, yeah. Yeah, I — I thought that it was time for a change. Do you like it? I do. I do. I like it a lot. I’ve got to say, I kind of miss the family photos on the mantel. Yeah, me too. Me too. It was, uh — it was hard putting those away, but they were just always a reminder of everyone that we have lost.

[ Voice breaking ] And now jason’s gone. Mm. Oh. Come here. But sometimes it takes a new perspective to see things — really see things. Willow came to me the other day, and she said — she asked if she could put some pictures wylie had drawn on the fridge. Mm. And all of a sudden, all of a sudden, I got this sense of family again. And pretty soon, there are gonna be drawings that bailey did. They’re gonna be right next to wiley’S. And I know that we could never forget the ones that we have lost, but we’ve really got to find a way to move on with our lives. Yeah. Somehow we do. Well, um… that was, um… a long time coming. Yeah. Yeah. That’s one way to put it. You know, we were supposed to be taking our first steps out as a couple tonight. We couldn’t, obviously, for dire reasons, but… …this sure felt like the right thing to do. Yeah. This big step, it had to be about the two of us first.

[ Cellphone rings ] Mnh-mnh. Mm-hmm. No, no. Oh, man. Listen — don’T. Don’T. Don’T. I’m sorry. I meant to silence it before. It’s probably, like, my mother wondering why we flaked. I’m sure I got plenty of those texts. You know, we should just make both our families wait till tomorrow. Unless… unless, of course, you think I should take off tonight. I’m really sorry, alexis. Honestly. I thought that I was encouraging nikolas to do a good thing. I’m not convinced nikolas could do a good thing anymore, even with an instruction manual. Hey, I-I don’t want to fight. Really, I just came here to — to check on you and see how you were doing. I’m sure that you remember the significance of this day, other than the holiday. It’s been a year since we last saw julian, before he… I’m sorry. I must have blocked that anniversary. As you know, uh, things did not end well with julian and me. Having said that, I know he’s your brother. I know you miss him, and I’m sorry you’re in pain. Thank you. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I would like to try to make at least one person smile instead of cry before this dreadful holiday is over.

[ Doorbell rings ] Are you kidding me? Who could that be? Satan? Hello, natasha.

You’re… late for dinner? Yes, I suppose I am. Oh, come on, natasha. Is that any way to greet a member of your family? Uncle victor. You’re alive. Sp encer?[ Laughs ] Wow. Look at you, all grown up. Well, quite a — quite a chip off the old block, eh? I’m so sorry. I should have warned you all. You knew he was alive and you didn’t say anything? How long did you know? We just need to access the appropriate technology. A-a-a-a thermal scan that can measure body temperature. It can prove if there were signs of life. We need to notify the greek authorities! Only for us to lose jason? Jason knew the risks that it took, going to greece. In this business, you know, we’re provided with a great life, but it also turns us into people who take action. It’s always a risk. So listen to me, okay? If, uh… we can’t always take for granted that we’re gonna beat the odds and come home. Jason knew that. It’s true. He was… never concerned about risk. He embraced it. I just… I truly never thought it would — would catch up with him. It’s alright. It’s alright.

[ Crying ] The footbridge is a public place. It’s not up to me to say who can use it or not. Do you want me to join you? I know how important you were to jason and how important he was to you. Last time we talked, you… said you wished jason and i had never met, meaning he would still be alive if our paths had never crossed. I shouldn’t have said that. I’m sorry. Don’t be.

Let me guess — valentin is filing charges against me, saying I committed fraud or something? Fraud? No. Why would you say that? Oh, no reason. Probably just shouldn’t have had that second glass of wine with dinner. Come on, what — what are you doing here, mac? It’s thanksgiving. You should be at home with felicia, maxie, the kids. Well, I’d like to be, but when the pcpd has a formal complaint lodged against the department, I have to pay attention. Now, I don’t know the whole story, but valentin is saying that one of my detectives assaulted him over a personal matter.

[ Scoffs ] That’s ridiculous. Chase was just standing up for me. Brook lynn, there’ll be a time and place for you to give your version of things, but this is an extremely serious matter, which is why I’m not with my family on this holiday, and I need to speak to you, detective chase, about what happened, in private. Let me get this straight — you knew that he was alive and you didn’t think to tell me about it? In fairness, neither you nor spencer were speaking to me, and I expected victor to remain in prison. My father warned me away from uncle victor, but as we know, his word is good for nothing. I always thought you were a good man. Well, thank you, spencer. That means a lot to me. I’m sure you’re wondering why I’m here. Well, I first went out to wyndemere, but it was empty, so I came here looking for the family I have left. Alexis, where are your daughters? Well, it leaves us with a lot to unpack. But, um… it feels different this time. And why is that? ‘Cause this time, I have hope. You know, over the course of the last year, there were a lot of times where I just didn’t have any. And I think that’s a good sign. Is that enough for now? That’s worth everything, for me.

[ Exhales deeply ] The one thing I do know is that I want you in leo’s life. I mean, julian’s been gone for a year, and, you know, even when he was alive, you have been the most fatherly figure in leo’s life. Always. And despite what’s gone on between us, um… I really regret that we didn’t make it official last year. Me, too. So, I was… oh, I’m — oh, I’m sorry. I’m sorry to interrupt. No, no, no, no. Not at all. Uh, drew, if you’re hungry, you better jump on some of this leftover pizza. It goes quick around here. Actually, olivia’s absolutely right. Oh, come on. You need us just as much as we need you, drew. Ned: She’s right. We have a lot to catch up on. What, are you just gonna cut and run on me? No, no. I don’t want to go anywhere. I just don’t want to be presumptuous. You know, I know rocco was gonna spend the night, but what happens in the morning when those kids wake up at breakfast? There are gonna be some awkward questions.

[ Chuckles ] I’ve got a pretty good idea. I say that we set the alarm extra early. Mm-hmm. Then you could sneak out before they wake up.

[ Chuckles ] Uh-oh. What happened there? Where’d you go? Oh, just… I was gonna say that I wanted you to stay because I didn’t want to be alone tonight, but that’s not true. I-I don’t want you to stay because I’M…lonely. I want you to stay ’cause I want to be with you. Well, that’s good, because I want to be with you. So it’s settled then. I’m gonna stay, yeah? Yeah. Okay, we knew that mikkos wasn’t your father.

[ Sighs ] We also know that helena had an affair with an unknown man. That would be me. Oh. Ew! You and helena? Look, natasha, I know you had issues with helena. Of course you did. She killed your mother. But I saw a different side to her. So if anyone needs it spelled out, that makes me 100% cassadine bastard. Told you you’d be eating your words. And you knew about this? Nikolas: No. I knew that victor was alive. I had no idea he was valentin’s father. Have you both had dna tests? Not yet, but I’m perfectly willing to. As am I. And if it turns out to be true, the silver lining, you and I are blood family. No, no. I don’t believe even for a second that my uncle victor would have a son like valentin. Spencer, I’m no fan of valentin’s, but I think you’re putting victor on too high of a pedestal. I didn’t ask for your opinion! I think we should go, my love. Yeah, that’s a good idea. Valentin: I think I’m gonna go, too. No, no! No one’s leaving here until every dish is done. I’ll stay if my son wants me to. Fine by me if you stay. Esme and I will go. Does everything have to be a grand gesture? You mean like throwing me out of the house and saying that I was nothing to you? Talk about grand gestures. How about dressing up like a stalker and then stabbing me? There’s no gesture there?

[ Whistles ] I recognize that blood feuds are something of a cassadine family tradition, but speaking as the patriarch of this family, I’m telling you now that that is all going to change, starting today.

Oh, my god. I’ve gotten you in trouble with your boss, haven’t I? How bad is it? Mac suspended me from the force for six months. Well, when you put it like that, how can I possibly say no? Thank you. You’re so welcome. Well [Sighs] I’m gonna go check on leo. Okay. Well, I think it’s my turn to welcome you back. Welcome back home, drew. I mean, it’s nothing short of a miracle, and one that this family really needs right now. Thank you, ned.

[ Both grunt ] And at the risk of sounding mercenary, I need to warn you that your return has created some complications at elq. How do you mean? Sorting it out is going to put a target on you from valentin cassadine. Now that I have your attention… the cassadines have been plagued for far too long by infighting and family members stabbing each other in the back. Or sometimes, they stab you in the chest. My point exactly. Thank you, spencer. Don’t you — can’t you imagine how much stronger this family would be together? Here’s the thing, victor. You’ve been dead for a long time. You’ve missed a lot. There’s a lot of bad blood going on between us, especially in the last three months. And you know what?

You are not gonna be the one to patch this family together. Frankly, I don’t think anyone can. Well, I hope for all your sakes that that is not the case. There will always be threats to this family lurking in the shadows. I just hope and pray that you will come to realize that this family is a lot stronger with a united front before those threats step into the light.

[ Exhales deeply ] I… I think I should be getting home now. Um, and — and I’ll get right to tracing that call. Georgie’s getting dropped off in the morning, so… you can stay here if you want. Josslyn and carly wouldn’t mind. Thank you for that kind offer. I-I think I just need to… sit with this news so that I can get into a better headspace for georgie in the morning. Hey, we’re just a phone call, you know, away, just if you need anything.

[ Sighs ] Thanks. Y– at — at the risk of speaking out of turn, um… you know, I-I know things were complicated between y-you, jason, and carly after the negated wedding, so I’m just… I’m glad that things got sorted before… before we lost him. I know what jason would want me to say. I should tell you that I don’t blame you. See, that was one of the many roles that jason played in my life. He always had the ability to talk me down. And with him gone, I, uh [Laughs] Those generous thoughts, they don’t come natural. They’re drowned out by loss and the… knowing that jason’s gone and he’s not coming back. I understand that feeling. I don’T… want you to go.

Sally: No problem. And I still have to wait for my takeout, and since this seat is open, I hope you don’t mind if i take a seat anyway.

Billy: You know, sally, i don’t want to be rude, but you’re being a little pushy. The truth is, I don’t want your company.

Sally: Wow. That’s kind of hard not to take personally. I was just trying to be nice.

Billy: Oh, come on. Look, I don’t know what’s going on with you and adam. Clearly, something’s going on. But it means that I can’t trust you, so forgive me for wanting to keep my distance.

Sally: Cool. Yeah. No taking offense to that at all. But, you know, it’s not really a good look to be drinking alone before happy hour.

Billy: Yeah, I’m not really concerned about my appearance right now.

Sally: Okay. Well, then let me be concerned for the both of us. So, you sit there, I will sit here. We do not even have to talk to each other. It will at least make you look a little less pathetic. Hi. So you’re the scientist here.

Adam: W– wait. Chance is alive? And he’s back in genoa city? Dad did not tell me any of that.

Nikki: Oh, I’m so sorry. I thought he had. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have mentioned it so casually. Yes, and we’re having a little get-together here tonight, if you can make it.

Adam: Um, well, that’s — that’s incredible news. But…I have plans with connor tonight, so… I’ll have to call abby and chance directly this afternoon.

Noah: Hey. Uh, grandpa left me a message, told me to meet him here.

Nikki: Oh, hi, honey. He’s running a little late, and I have to go over some plans with him, but I will tell him to call you as soon as he can.

Noah: Okay. Oh, and mariah told me the news about chance, and I’ll definitely try to make it tonight.

Adam: Actually, no, um… I was the one that asked dad to reach out to you. ‘Cause I figured you’d be more likely to respond to him than me.

Phyllis: I’d watch out if i were you. I mean, the last thing you want is adam having an influence over noah.

Sally: You know, adam and i aren’t as close as people seem to believe.

Billy: Come on, sally. You showed up at the newman media launch together, you flew in his private jet to tuscany together for victoria’s wedding. I’ve seen you out and about more than I ever saw you and jack. And I know for a fact that you two were dating.

Sally: Yeah, well, you really shouldn’t believe everything you read in the tabloids, especially your own.

Billy: Well, that’s the funny thing about running a media company — you realize that most of the gossip is true.

Sally: Adam is my boss. He signs my checks, so I get you not wanting to confide in me about your business battles. But I need to set the record straight. Chloe and I have complete autonomy over our newman fashion platform, and it’s not like i have to suck up to the boss. There’s absolutely nothing romantic going on between me and adam.

Billy: Well, if that’s true, then that’s good for you. Because there’s no one more capable of tearing apart your soul than adam newman.

Sally: Hey. I’m gonna cut through a few layers of politeness and proper social etiquette here, because i sense that there’s something… much deeper going on. Are you really gonna be okay?

Chance: Look at him.

Abby: [ Chuckles ]

Chance: Look at that big boy.

Abby: Oh.

Chance: I just can’t believe how perfect our baby is. Look at him.

Abby: In fact, my dad is so excited that you’re back…

Chance: Yeah?

Abby: …That he wants to throw a party to welcome you home.

Chance: [ Chuckles nervously ] Party?

[ Sighs ] It’s my woke-up-like-this migraine medicine.

Chance: Abby, I’m just not sure if I’m ready to face a group like that yet. I don’t — I don’t know. I —

Abby: Hey, hey. You know what? I will call my dad and tell him that we’re canceling.

Chance: Wait. You already told him we’d go?

Abby: [ Scoffs ] I’m sorry. I wasn’t thinking. I’m just — I’m so excited that you’re home, I wanted to celebrate. And I thought the security detail’s here, they could keep us safe. And I know that everybody who loves you, they want to see you and hug you. And my dad thought that, you know, maybe a small family gathering would be less stressful for you.

Chance: Mm. Get it over with in one fell swoop, huh?

Abby: Sort of. But you know what? Everyone will understand if i tell them that we’re not up for it.

Chance: No. No, no, hey. Don’t cancel. I’ve missed everyone. I’ve been away for so long, I, uh… I want to feel life again. And people and love.

Abby: Okay.

Chance: Okay. But first, I, uh… I want to feel you again.

Abby: Oh.

Chance: Mmm.

Abby: Mmm. Okay, come on. You’re coming with me.

Chance: Oh, I’m coming with you?

Abby: Mm-hmm.

Chance: Oh. Can’t wait to get up there.

Victor: You know, the only reason that I would be upset with you…if I found out that you made a move for chanccomm to protect billy boy.

Victoria: Oh, no, no. I assure you that is not my motivation. It’s purely business.

Victor: And you know, talking about your business, you selling that division to chancellor was a mistake. You know that.

Victoria: In retrospect, yes, it was a mistake.

Victor: Yeah.

Victoria: Which is why i proposed to ashland that we get it back. I’d like it back in the newman fold.

Victor: So it was your idea.

Victoria: Well…

Victor: I’m happy to hear that.

Victoria: You know, dad, that ashland is 100% behind me. He is my partner, both in business and in life. I know that you’re not exactly happy about his involvement. And to tell you the truth, adam wasn’t very happy, either, and he made that clear when he said that ashland’s participation was a betrayal of newman media.

Victor: You know your brother doesn’t like to be bested.

Victoria: Well, none of us newmans do. Must be something in the genes.

Victor: Actually, it’s very true. Wonder where you got that from. But I’m happy to know that ashland was part of cutting billy boy off at the knees. He was part of humiliating billy boy and making him resign. Now, beyond that, I don’t really care about chanccomm. It’s another piece on a chess board. You and adam are both vying for the prize, so may the best competitor win.

Victoria: And you’re not gonna put your foot on the scale?

Victor: No. No, no, no, no. Means nothing to me. You know, I love my family. And although you and I have often been on the opposite end of some big business deal, I’m very proud of you. And now your mother is waiting for me. So, hopefully, I’ll see you later on, okay?

Victoria: I’ll see you at the party.

Victor: Bye, sweetheart.

[ Door opens ]

Nick: Well, what exactly are we clearing up? I mean, there’s just so much to choose from.

Ashland: Well, I know that you and victoria have made headway in working through your issues. She told me that you had a heart-to-heart about your breakup with phyllis, and I’m sorry to hear that that didn’t work out.

Nick: That is not something that you and I are gonna talk about.

Ashland: Well, okay, then. Back to you and victoria. It’s clear that your fences aren’t completely mended.

Nick: Also none of your business.

Ashland: Well, she’s my wife.

Nick: She’s my sister. It’s a family matter.

Ashland: I’m family now. I mean, do you still regret that victoria and I followed through with the wedding?

Nikki: Well, you and I are in agreement about noah and adam. I’m worried about my grandson. He’s been out of sorts since returning home.

Phyllis: Yeah, I know, which makes him ripe for the pickin’ for adam to take him under his wing.

Nikki: Oh, not necessarily. I — I don’t think that noah is really eager to embrace the new and improved adam. From what I understand, he tolerated working with his uncle for newman media branding, but he really didn’t appreciate being micromanaged over his own designs.

Phyllis: Well, that’s interesting. I don’t know why noah left london. I thought his career was really taking off.

Nikki: You know, sometimes career isn’t the most important thing in life.

Phyllis: Oh, that’s for me, right? ‘Cause you’re insinuating that nick and I broke up because i was too into my career here at the hotel? Honestly, that is ridiculous and unfounded.

Nikki: Okay. Will you calm down? Not every comment in a conversation is about you. Okay. I’m sorry it didn’t work out, for my son’s sake. I mean, I wasn’t thrilled to hear that the two of you were gonna get involved again, nor did I have high hopes that it would work this time… but I hate seeing my son in pain, and nicholas is hurting over your breakup.

Phyllis: That was a very difficult decision for both of us to make.

Nikki: And yet you seem to be doing just fine.

Phyllis: You don’t know what’s going on with me — right? — So don’t pretend to think that you know what’s going on inside of my head, okay?

Nikki: I didn’t mean to offend you. I know people deal with heartbreak in different ways.

Phyllis: It’s really easy to judge a relationship when you’re on the outside, isn’t it? Oh. Uh, excuse me. I need to make a phone call.

Victor: Hello, my baby.

Nikki: Hi.

Victor: Are you all right?

Nikki: Yeah. Fine.

Victor: Okay. Sorry I’m late. I ran into victoria and gave her an update on chance.

Nikki: Was everything all right between you and victoria?

Victor: Yes, I told victoria that, um… love and family trumps business.

Nikki: Well, that is true.

Victor: Yeah.

Nikki: Uh, by the way, adam was here looking for you. He thinks you’re avoiding him.

Victor: Why would he think that I’m avoiding him? I’m just stepping back. You know, whatever issues exist between him and victoria, they’ve got to work it out themselves. That’s all. I have a feeling, though, once they both start fighting for chanccomm, things will get heated.

Nikki: Don’t tell me you’re looking forward to that.

Victor: No. ‘Course not.

Nikki: That glint in your eye says otherwise.

Victor: Everything set for tonight?

Nikki: Yeah, it’s almost finished. Dealing with phyllis is always challenging.

Victor: Oh, boy.

Nikki: Which is why I was surprised that you wanted to have the gathering here tonight so soon after her breakup with nicholas.

Victor: Mm-hmm.

Nikki: Is that why? You figured nicholas wouldn’t come and wouldn’t create any conflict for victoria and ashland?

Victor: Let’s just say I hope that nicholas will be able to put aside his differences, you know, and show up.

Nikki: Well, I hope so.

Victor: Yeah. This, tonight, is about abby and chance, okay? They’re home, and they’re safe. Everything else is secondary.

Ashland: Yeah, your sister is happy, okay? But I know how much her family means to her. And instead of there being this tension between us when our paths cross, why don’t we get it all out?

Nick: Yeah, well, getting it all out’s not gonna change my mind about anything.

Ashland: I mean, what have i done that you think is so wrong?

Nick: Really? A-are you kidding?

Ashland: Victoria has forgiven me for my past.

Nick: Which I think is insane. I cannot fathom how she is just okay with everything that you’ve done. I mean, you let your best friend die, and then you stole his identity, and then you robbed your mentor of her fortune so you could begin your career. Yeah, I know, you filed a lawsuit against chanccomm, but i know everything in that story is true. I also know that you never would’ve told vic the truth if i hadn’t pursued this. So while she and the rest of the family don’t seem to care about this, i do. I’m never gonna forget it, I’m never gonna think it’s okay, because I think you’re an opportunist with no moral standards. And everyone in the family that are just giving you a pass, i guess because you’re sick. But you know what? If I were to find out tomorrow that you were no longer dying, I’d have to wonder if you were ever sick in the first place.

Ashland: I appreciate your honesty.

Nick: Yeah? Well, do you feel better about this little exchange? Because I don’T. It’s why I’m trying to stay out of it. I’m trying to stay out of victoria’s business. But let me tell you something, ashland. If I find out that you ever hurt victoria or take advantage of her in any way, trust me — you will have an enemy in me for life.

Victoria: [ Clears throat ]

Adam: So, are you still planning on staying in genoa city for a while?

Noah: Why do you ask?

Adam: Well, I would like to bring you into newman media for some more graphic-design projects. I mean, we have a lot of branding for newman fashions, and, actually, we have a more urgent project that needs work.

Noah: A-adam, look, i appreciate the offer, okay, but I already told you, helping to establish the original branding, it was a one-time job. I don’t really like working for big companies, and I want to use my time here to reassess. You know, think about what i want to do next. I’m working on a project for a friend right now, but I’m just not really interested in a job on the scale that newman media would be looking for.

Adam: I respect that. But nothing says it has to be permanent, so just think about it. Could be a great way to stay busy, creative, and forget about whatever drove you away from london. So it sounds like a win/win.

Noah: [ Sighs ] I’ll consider it.

Adam: Great.

Noah: I got to say, man, I’ve, uh — I’ve heard a lot about this new attitude of yours, you know, from my mom, dad, and faith. I’m not gonna lie. I’m having a hard time buying it.

Adam: I get it. We have had a, uh, rough history. There’s no reason that you should welcome me back into your life with open arms.

Noah: But it’s hard not to see that something has changed. That doesn’t mean that I liked all the notes you gave me on my designs.

Adam: [ Chuckles ] Well, there is a certain built-in conflict between the creative and the suit, huh?

Noah: [ Chuckles ] That’s actually what I was gonna say. It almost felt normal.

Adam: So maybe the lesson is, don’t write anyone off, ’cause everyone can surprise you.

Sally: Thank you. Can you put that on my bill? In my experience, whenever you’re feeling down, it is better to caffeinate than to numb the pain.

Billy: Thanks for the tip.

Sally: [ Sighs ] I’ve been there. I’m kind of an expert on being a pariah. So I know that sting when everything that you’ve done boomerangs back on you.

Billy: Oh, I don’t know. I’ve taken the pariah status to knew heights — or depths. Depends on how you look at it. And I’ve managed to lose the trust of my most stalwart believer, my mother.

Sally: How’d you do that?

Billy: Wouldn’t your platonic boss love to hear about it?

Sally: [ Scoffs ] You don’t have to give me any details. All I’m saying is I recognize the feelings that you’re having, and they are not fun.

Billy: Oh, I don’t know about that. This, all this, it’s kind of comforting. The rabbit hole is familiar for me. It kind of feels like home.

Sally: Come on. You’re much better than that.

Billy: How the hell would you know?

Sally: From our limited encounters, I am aware that you’re usually acting to protect someone. So I understand the feeling of doing the wrong things for the right reasons. So I happen to think you have a good heart.

Billy: That’s not a common opinion.

Sally: Yeah, well, I often go against the grain. Ah, thank you. My takeout is here, but I would be more than happy to eat it here, and we could get some soup for you.

Adam: I’m trying to take advantage of having a famous artist in the family by convincing him to do some work for us.

Sally: Well, that would be amazing. I love your aesthetic. The banding you did for newman media was so fresh. Could we maybe get you for newman fashion? ‘Cause you would be perfect.

Noah: I’m not really looking for work right now, but I told adam that I’d think about it.

Adam: Mm-hmm. And if I do convince him to come work for us, you’re gonna have to get in line, because I have a project that I need him for first.

Sally: Well, if you let me bend your ear for a second, i think I could get you to see why we would be a great fit.

Noah: Hard sell. I respect it. Look, I’ll consider the offer, okay? Thanks, guys.

Adam: You bet. Came on a little strong there.

Sally: Well, most of the time, that’s what works. Suddenly have a problem with my approach?

Adam: Um, no, not necessarily. What’s up?

Sally: Well [Clears throat] I just ran into billy abbott at society.

Adam: [ Sighs ] I thought I told you to stay out of my business with billy.

Sally: Okay, well, I wasn’t trying to butt in. It was an accidental encounter. But I do have a question. I know that you intended to hit billy where it hurt, but was your plan to do serious psychological damage?

Adam: Right, because billy is the victim in all this.

Sally: [ Scoffs ]

Adam: But, no, I did not intend to give the man a nervous breakdown. What exactly did he say?

Sally: Nothing about chanccomm. He knew better. It was just…sad. He was drinking, and he seemed depressed. And then he said something about going down a rabbit hole like he’d done in the past.

Adam: Why would he say all of that to you?

Sally: I was just trying to make conversation while I was waiting for my takeout, and i don’t know if he was looking for sympathy, but I sort of did feel for the guy.

Adam: Interesting.

Billy: Hey.

Lily: Hey.

Billy: Uh-oh. Do I sense overworked energy?

Lily: Yeah, uh-huh. How’d you guess? Oh, where have you been? Are you okay?

Billy: Yeah, I’m great now that I’m home with you. What’s, uh — what’s going on here? What is all this?

Lily: Well, jill’s assistant just sent over a ton of chancellor files, which I’m just now getting to because jill also thought that, as part of my onboarding as ceo, that I should go on a listening tour.

Billy: That sounds like fun.

Lily: Oh, yeah. Mm-hmm. It was. I had back-to-back video chats with everybody that works there to find out what they do.

Billy: Okay, not so much fun. But a great way to familiarize yourself with the company.

Lily: Yeah, no, it’s great, but I barely made a dent because this is a massive conglomerate, right? Like, it’s a huge company.

Billy: Yeah, I am aware of that.

Lily: I mean, today alone, i spoke with the pharmaceutical division, engineering, construction.

Billy: Oh, you would look really good in a hard hat.

Lily: Yeah, mm-hmm.

Billy: Hey. You okay?

Lily: No, I’m — I’m overwhelmed, right? Like, this is overwhelming. I just — I don’t have the experience for this. You know, I mean, the press is gonna be all over my credentials, and I’m just wondering, like, what if this hurts chancellor industries? Or what if this reflects poorly on jill? Like, did I make a huge mistake?

[ Sighs ]

Dominic: [ Crying ]

Abby: [ Gasps ] Hi. Hi, my sweet boy.

[ Gasps ] Hello. Are you okay?

Chance: [ Chuckles ]

Abby: Is everything alright?

Chance: You want me to give it a try? I got to learn how to do this.

Abby: Alright, here you go. You want to go see dad?

Chance: Hey, big guy.

Abby: You got him?

Chance: Yeah.

Abby: Oh.

Chance: Hey, big buddy. How you doing?

Abby: Hey, I’m gonna go grab a bottle.

Chance: Cool.

Abby: Okay. [ Chuckles ]

Chance: Hey, buddy. How you doing? How you doing? Yeah. You know me? Yeah, it’s pretty cool up in here, isn’t it? Not bad. Look at you. Yeah.

Abby: I got the bottle. Look at you.

Chance: I’m kind of getting this down.

Abby: You want some?

Chance: Yeah.

Abby: Ooh. You know, I have to admit that, before this moment, devon has been the only one to get him to calm down without feeding him. He’s got the magic touch. I guess so do you.

Chance: Yeah, well, I’m glad he’s been here for both of you.

Abby: Yeah. Yeah, he has been. He’s been there for dom, and he’s been concerned about me and you. He’s been the best friend i could hope for. He’s been there for our son. Hey. Hey, my guy. Hey. Hi. I love you.

Victoria: Why? Why are you threatening my husband? And why would you assume that he’s out to hurt me or take advantage of me, nicholas? So much for your promise to stay out of my personal life.

Nick: I was being honest — at his request.

Ashland: That’s true. I wanted to find out how he felt about things.

Victoria: What would be the advantage of that? Look, why? Why do you refuse to give ashland a chance to prove that he’s a different person now? People change, nicholas, and ashland is worthy of my love and my trust.

Nick: You don’t understand.

Victoria: Look, I can’t get into this right now. I have more immediate things on my mind. I’m guessing that you haven’t heart that chance is still alive, and he and abby are back home.

Nick: No.

Victoria: He survived the explosion. And somehow, abby knew it, and she found him.

Ashland: That’s incredible.

Nick: Thank god.

Victoria: I know. So mom and dad are throwing them a welcome-home party tonight at the grand phoenix, and we should go. So I’m hoping that we can put aside this tension and just be there for chance and abby. Doesn’t your family deserve the best?

Nick: When did all this come about? The last I heard, jack and ashley were in spain, looking for abby. And the only reason I know that is ’cause I was at devon’s, talking to him, and then dad showed up.

Victoria: Look, the only reason I heard the news is because I ran into dad at crimson lights. I’m sure it wasn’t a personal slight. It all just happened very quickly.

Nick: Well, I’m trying not to think about dad right now.

Victoria: Nicholas, I’m so sorry that things have disintegrated between the two of you, but it feels like it’s — feels like it’s part of a pattern.

Nick: What kind of pattern?

Victoria: Just, sometimes, it — it seems like you blame others for what’s happening in your life when you’re the one who’s alienating those around you.

Nick: That’s how you see things?

Victoria: I’m just saying that you’re the one who always thinks that you’re in the right, and everybody else is wrong, but maybe you should take a look at yourself and ask yourself, “is there something that I’m doing that’s at the root of all this?

Nick: See you at the party.

Adam: I wouldn’t feel much sympathy for billy.

[ Cellphone rings ]

[ Sighs ] This is not great timing, but i have to answer this. Hey, uh, I’m in a meeting with sally right now. Can I call you back in a bit?

Chelsea: [ Scoffs ] Sure. Sure. You let me know when it’s convenient for you to hear about my plans and discuss our son.

Adam: And she hung up on me. Once again, I handled that perfectly.

Sally: Maybe call her back.

Adam: C-can you and I finish talking later?

Sally: Yeah. I’ll see you soon.

Lily: [ Sighs ]

Billy: I’m not used to seeing self-doubt on you. Hey, this isn’t easy, okay? There’s a lot going on right now in a short amount of time, and you just need to give yourself a little bit of a break and take a breath. I’ve said it before, but you are going to kill this, okay, and you are the most important thing and the most successful thing to come out of chanccomm.

Lily: Yeah, up until now.

Billy: That is my responsibility. And as far as your credentials go, you’re qualified. I believe that. I know my mother does. She would never risk her legacy or her company if she didn’t 100% believe in you.

Lily: I just don’t think that my experience matches up to the job I’m being asked to do.

Billy: You have a ton of work in marketing, okay? And let’s be honest, running a company like this, it’s all about positive public perception.

Lily: Are you just flattering me ’cause you love me?

Billy: Yes.

Lily: [ Chuckles ]

Billy: And no. I’m flattering you because you deserve it. You earned this. You are, by far, the hardest-working entrepreneurial person that I know, and you made me a better man — in business and in a relationship. And you’re gonna be great. You really are, and I couldn’t be more happy or more proud of you.

Chance: [ Sighs ] Hey.

Abby: Hey. Are you sure you’re up for this?

Chance: Yeah, yeah, I think i can face the pressure of a champagne toast and a couple welcome-home hugs. Bring it on.

Abby: Okay. You know, everyone understands what you did. I mean, they understand why you had to do it.

Chance: Yeah, the last thing I wanted to was hurt anyone. But as long as I got you by my side, I think I can face anything.

Abby: Mm. Good.

Ashland: Well, I never thought I’d be the one to say this, but weren’t you being a little hard on your brother? It seems like nick wants to work things out. That’s why I asked him to come over and talk.

Victoria: I’m kind of stunned that you’re coming to his defense after the way that he treated you.

Ashland: Oh, well, I’ve been called a lot of things over the years, and nick’s not wrong about the things that I’ve done. I’m, frankly, more impressed with the love that you and your brother have for each other. It’s — it’s quite special.

Victoria: Who knew that one of your first duties as a newman would be to play family peacemaker?

Ashland: Well, after doing battle over all these years, it’s rather refreshing. Maybe death has changed my perspective on this.

Victoria: No, no, no, no. No talk about death. Not — not — just positive thoughts during this new treatment, okay? Are you sure that you’re up for a night with my family?

Ashland: If you want to go, so do I. Because wherever you are is where I want to be.

Lily: See, I love your support, but it just makes me want you by my side even more because we make a great team.

Billy: We do, and we’re gonna continue to make a great team in our relationship, but out there, you are the boss of chancellor…

Lily: [ Chuckles ]

Billy: …And I’m gonna be fine. I’m gonna land on my feet.

Lily: Does that mean that you dropped the idea you told me about earlier?

Billy: It’s still in the brainstorming stage. I laid a little bit of groundwork, but nothing much. But right now, the only thing i want to focus on is you, because I think we should advantage of this time we have together because you are about to be a very, very busy woman.

Victor: Jill is coming from a business meeting and she will be here soon and she’s picking up ashley on the way.

Nikki: Great. I left word with nicholas, but i haven’t heard back yet.

Victoria: Hello. [ Chuckles ]

Victor: Oh, my goodness.

Victoria: Hi, papa.

Victor: So beautiful.

Victoria: Thank you. Love you, mom.

Victor: Ashland, nice to see you.

Interview with Alexa Mansour, Nicolas Cantu, Hal Cumpston and Julia Ormond of “The Walking Dead: World Beyong” on AMC by Thane 12/3/21

This was my first interview for the site. We had some technical problems, but it worked out well in the end. It was great to listen to the actors talk about the final episode of the show.

Question: Congratulations on a great season of the show. Now, the show was, as far as I know, entirely filmed in Richmond, Virginia, or if not, mostly filmed there. I was wondering if each of you could give me a recommendation for a great restaurant or spot to do or to go to the next time I’m in Richmond?

Alexa: The Jefferson Hotel. Go to the Jefferson hotel; get a dirty martini. It’s great.

Hal: Yeah, the Jefferson hotel is awesome. They’ve got an alligator out at the front, because apparently they used to have alligators walking around the hotel there in the 30s or something. What else is there? Where did we all go for that dinner by the river? That was awesome.

Alexa: What was it called?

Nick: The Lilly Pad? I’m pretty sure it’s the Lilly Pad.

Alexa: It was the Lilly Pad. It was the Lilly Pad.

Hal: The Lilly Pad. Hell yeah.

Nick: My shouts out for Richmond are this hot chicken sandwich place called Hot Chick.

Hal: Yeah, I was about to say “Hot Chick.”

Nick: Hot Chick sandwich place, and I would go to the skate park a lot called Treasure Island. It’s a DIY; that place is sick. Those are my two shout outs for the city of Richmond. And the river is just beautiful, like just finding little stuff to do along the river. That’s great, too.

Question: Did ever of you go to GWARbar ever, or that was off limits?

Nick: What’s GWARbar?

Hal: I walked past it once.

Question: The heavy metal band GWAR has a bar/restaurant in Richmond.

Nick: Wait, what? Do they? My friends just went to a GWAR show. I didn’t know they had a bar in Richmond.

Hal: [unitelligible] skating now.

Nick: I didn’t know they had a bar. Man, I missed that. Thank you.

Hal: You could have taken photos at it and pretended you were cool.

Question: Congratulations on this amazing season and wrapping up the show. It’s just been fantastic. My question to you, and this is open to anyone, looking back, your character started the series with a very distinct view of how the world worked, and most importantly, how it should work and what those rules should be and how you should function. I’m wondering how your character’s vision changed by the end of the series. Who wants to go?

Nick: I’ll go. I’ll go. I think Elton has changed was very much from kind of spectating to being a part of everything now, but, also, he saw the gray area of the world more in season two. Season one you see him just kind of being this, I guess, more of a pacifist, but in season two as he accepts the world for what it is, he starts participating in the more gray aspects of apocalypse life.

Hal: Yeah, that was a real same this season…I also thought growing up was it a theme of the show.

Alexa: Yeah, I agree with that. I think growing up for sure. I’m just realizing what’s important and what’s worth actually stressing yourself out over, you know, like, I feel like in the first season, at least for Hope, she was really very bitter towards everybody. She just was so ready to destroy anybody that she thought was bad. Second season, she became a little bit more methodical about the way that she approached things, like realizing like sometimes you do have to kind of – not sleep with the enemy, but sleep with the enemy, to get what you want and to get ahead. Nick’s looking at me like –

Nick: What do you mean by that? Sleep with the enemy?

Alexa: Like the CRM was the enemy, and she went undercover in that area, which I feel like first season she would have been like, “Screw this; I’m not doing this.”

Nick: True.

Hal: I’ve never slept with anyone let alone the enemy.

Alexa: I’ve never slept with anyone either.

Julia: I’ve [unintelligible] slept with people, but, I don’t know, I sort of feel with Elizabeth, the pragmatism of being committed to an agenda that was really tough and seemed really clear just became much more complicated for her and clearly hadn’t worked [unintelligible] defeated by that.

Question: This is what it’s for Alexa, how was it manag[ing] to get the F bomb in on the last episode?

Alexa: I didn’t even know I had an F bomb in the last episode.

Hal: Yeah, what the hell? You fully got a fuck in there.

Question: No, that was the previous episode, sorry.

Alexa: I didn’t know that that was as big deal. I didn’t know that was like an actual thing that you couldn’t do. I figured because it’s television and whatnot, but people actually think it’s a really big deal, and I say that word all the time.

Hal: Alexa is awesome like that. She’s such a swear bear.

Alexa: [laughs]

Hal: She doesn’t sleep with anyone, but she sure as hell swears a lot.

Alexa: Yeah. No, I’m actually pretty excited that I got that F bomb in there, because Hal didn’t get it.

Hal: Yeah, I didn’t even get as much as like a “crap” or a “shit.”

Alexa: Because Silas doesn’t talk. You have to talk more.

Hal: It is so weird with the ruling. I think, because there’s so much violence, they’re not really allowed to like swear and have violence, but it’s like is killing someone not a little bit more offensive than swearing?

Alexa: Not if what you’re killing was a rotting piece of flesh.

Nick: We kill people in this show.

Hal: There’re people being killed.

Nick: Yeah. We don’t shy away from human death.

Hal: I’ve killed nearly as many people as I’ve killed zombies.

Alexa: You’ve killed people on the show?

Nick: People die in the show.

Hal: I kill two people, I think. Yeah, I do…My two father figures.

Nick: That’s a shame.

Hal: That is a shame.

Thane: Nicholas, tell us how they did the special effects and such at the end, where you lost part of your arm.

Nick: So, for that last shot, we were kind of coming over the hill in Portland, and they gave me like a blue like sleeve to put my arm through. They just kind of said, “Don’t move it.” So, I just kind of stood with my arm just still. Then, I guess they blue screened it out. But then for one scene where I had my arm chopped off and I’m sitting in that hospital bed, my arm is just a pool noodle. I always thought that was funny that they just put a pool noodle and wrapped and bandaged, like, “That’s his arm,” and my actual arm was under some covers. So, that’s how they achieved the effect of me not having an arm.

Hal: They toyed with the idea of actually doing that.

Nick: They were thinking about actually chopping it off. It was not them thing; it was a me thing for the character, where I wanted to go all the way. But my doctor said “no.” So, we had to do blue screen and pool noodles.

Hal: His therapist said “yes.”

Nick: Therapist said “yes;” Doctor said “no.”

Alexa: Did you tell the doctor how much they were gonna pay you for the arm?

Nick: Ah, it’s a weird thing with me and my doctor. So, I feel like they would raise my prices if I did something like that. So, I just kept it chill.

Hal: Nick’s sleeping with his doctor.

Nick: I kept it chill. So, it was able to be figured out basically with special effects and movie magic

Thane: When you read in your script that you were bitten and then cured, were you disappointed that you didn’t get to be a walker and/or die on screen?

Nick: A little bit, actually, because ever since I signed on to The Walking Dead thing, I was like, “Okay, the whole experience would be, get in the show, kill some things, and then get killed,” because that’s like the cycle of The Walking Dead universe. So, I was wanting to be a part of it, but, hey, maybe my day will come someday. I got my arm chopped off. That’s part of it. I’m getting like drip fed little apocalyptic checkmarks on a bucket list. So, maybe one day I’ll get to die. It’s a start, but you know, zombies. [laughs]

Question: Pollyanna came from the main show, The Walking Dead, as Jadis, but now she’s on World Beyond. She’s a completely different character. So, what was it like working with her? Because compared to the main show and this one, she’s a force to be reckoned with.

Alexa: I didn’t know. I mean, I knew she was on the original one; I didn’t know that she was playing a completely different character. I thought that it was like, maybe just a different side of her of the character. Like maybe the character went through some shit and came out. You know, when you go through a hard time [and] when you come out you’re like a completely different person, but that’s kind of interesting to know. She’s awesome to work with. She’s like, insanely talented. So, regardless of like, different character or not, she was great to work with.

Hal: Yeah, Pollyanna. Very fun to work with. Yeah.

Alexa: And it was sick, knowing that someone from the original show was crossing over. Because I was like, “Oh, there’s there’s hope.” Not no pun intended.

Hal: I like getting to work with my British brothers and sisters. They’re a little bit less American, so it’s fun.

Question: Julia, the moment at the end of the series finale, it was just so beautiful, and watching Elizabeth, the realization come across Elizabeth, as she kind of gets a sense of what’s going on. I’m curious, do you think she knew that Huck was torn as much as she was between this life she’d been living undercover and her duty to the CRM?

Julia: I have to confess, I haven’t actually seen how they ended up cutting it together, but I do feel the Elizabeth buried any fears that she had about Jennifer and her relationship. And I know that is something that kind of is in pretty much every scene that they have together, is this question of how much Elizabeth cares or connects and the things that Jennifer’s gone through. But I don’t think Elizabeth, by the time that she’s arrested and put into [a cell], I don’t think she has completely been able to – I think she’s emotionally distracted. I don’t think she’s been completely able to quite admit the degree to which she’s made some – she’s made some legitimate sort of mistakes, as a leader, in terms of the vulnerability. So, it’s understandable to me that Jadis does comes at her with the things that she does, and I think Elizabeth just hasn’t really realized how much of a distraction it’s been, the emotional stuff. So, I think it’s gut wrenching for her that Jennifer’s not connecting with her as a mom as a result of choices that Elizabeth has made and found family in other people to be worthy of being loyal to, and I think that destroys her.

Hal: Things are so bleak for Elizabeth at the end there.

Alexa: I mean, she kind of deserves it, no offense.

Hal: Everyone is throwing hate.

Alexa: She destroyed our home.

Julia: Well, she does have to make some tough decisions, but yeah, I guess so.

Question: For all of you, did any of you get to take home any kind of either weapons, or items from the set?

Hal: Hell yeah, they sorted us out.

Alexa: Yeah.

Hal: I’ve got my wrench. I’m moving to a new house and I’m going to get it in a glass box.

Alexa: I took my S-pole

Nick: I don’t know if you can see it. I’m gonna get the pocket fisherman. I’m going to bring that out.

Hal: Gotta get the pocket fisherman Nick. Do your mother fucking thing.

Alexa: I have the S-pole.

Question: Oh, it’s somewhere in the other room?

Alexa: Yeah, mine’s in the other [room].

Nick: The pocket fisherman; rock it up with the pocket fisherman. It’s got all the action. It’s just sitting here. I got to keep the suit. I got to keep this. They gave me like the little archeology bag; they gave me the whole thing.

Hal: Nick uses that fisherman as like a pickup line.

Nick: Yeah, when I’m bored.

Hal: Nick, demonstrate. What do you do? Go on; demonstrate.

Nick: I say, “Hey, baby. I’m trying to do this interview. So let’s move on.”

Hal: He always says baby.

Nick: Always with the baby.

Question: How about you Julia?

Julia: [laughs] No, I got a great mug as a takeaway that had a Walking Dead design on it from one of the crew members that was super fun, but no. I don’t want to take home weapons. I take home my memories.

Hal: Did Elizabeth really have weapons? I feel like other people did her dirty work sort of.

Julia: Excuse me! No, she had like the stiletto pen thing.

Hal: Oh, true. I remember that from the show.

Julia: But I mean, also, kind of like the way that we had set about it in terms of Elizabeth’s stuff is that she could kind of…turn anything into a weapon instead of sort of – yeah, she had a stiletto that was sort of kept [in] the jacket somewhere, but the idea is that she could take any weapon and use it sort of as somebody who’s got a military background and training to do that stuff, but you don’t really get to see that in the series.

Hal: There wasn’t enough time for anything.

Thane: [Hal], all of the characters went through so much; yours seemed to go through the most changes all throughout the series. Which part did you enjoy the most, and, in your opinion, does Silas stay loyal to his friends, or does he [go over to] the dark side or the CRM?

Hal: Well, yeah, he does really change, because at the start he’s scared to say anything or look anyone in the eye. Then, at the end of it, he’s almost like a pretty normal, normal-ish person, which maybe just is my acting not making sense that I came back and decided it was a new character, or it’s really good emotional range, or like range to go from that, from the start to the end, but who knows? That’s for the people to decide as to whether he’s loyal or going to the CRM. Again, I’d like to think that he thinks for himself, and that’s an option for him that he doesn’t know. Maybe he is half seeing what’s going on with the CRM and checking it out and then seeing if he really wants to take it down. But I do get the sense that now that these little young rebel rebel kids have got a taste for taking down the establishment, I feel like that’s gonna happen again. They’re not able to sit still and just deal with living in the post apocalyptic world. They have to be like fighting something constantly. They’re all going to Portland and stuff. I mean, they could just chill out. That’s what I like to do, just chilll.

Thane: Were you a fan of The Walking Dead before you auditioned for the show?

Hal: I’d never seen any of it…I hadn’t seen it before, but, obviously, because I hadn’t lived under a rock, I knew what The Walking Dead was. It’s like a humongous thing, but then I got to watch, and it was actually pleasant. I was sort of surprised. I thought it would be this particular thing, but I watched the first two seasons as I was getting the callbacks. You get to another point, they’re like, “Oh, I think they’re gonna make an offer, blah blah blah,” and it was my first American audition. So, it was all very surreal for me. Then I’m able to watch the show, and I’m like, “I actually like this show. This is crazy. It’s a pretty cool [show].” The first season, it’s almost a bit like it has an independent movie feel, but with a budget, and the acting is pretty awesome and fresh and interesting.

Alexa: Yeah, I only watched the first couple seasons. I think I stopped at season three, but I really liked it. I just tend to fall out with TV shows and just forget to keep watching them, and I lose my spot.

Nick: Yeah, I watched the first two seasons as well, I think, when they put them on Netflix, and then I tapped out, because I was like ten or something, and it was just a lot of blood and guts. But my older brother kept watching it, and it was always in the household. Then, he was like, “Hey, come check this out,” when Glenn died, and he just showed me his brains getting splattered on TV. I was like, “Oh, great, dude. Awesome.” So, it was always in my house, but I only kept up with seasons one and two.

Question: All of you, for the final episode, were there any scenes that were very hard to pull off when it came to either the dialogue or during the stunts?

Alexa: Yeah, there was, I think it was in season two, either episode one or two, but when Hope has a fight with Candice, before she gets pushed against the wall and eaten alive or whatever, that scene took all day, because we had to keep switching between me and the stunt double. So, that was probably one of the longest, hardest scenes that I had to do. Yeah, I’m very happy that I made it through it in one piece.

Nick: Yeah, by the end of season two, we were there, I think, from January to June, so once it got it started getting closer to summer, the days were getting hotter, and the season was ending, so we had to do all of our stunts. We shot every season in Richmond; it was really nice, but once we got to the summer, it got hotter, and [there were] just bigger set pieces. There was the whole battle at the the community village where the CRM comes in and Elton’s about to get executed, that whole like battle piece where the building blows up and everything, that was multiple days. That was a lot of prep, but it turned out awesome. That was probably the hardest.

Hal: They blew up the barn. That was nuts.

Nick: That was crazy. Did you see that?

Hal: Remember there was a fire; the whole fire department was just sitting there having to watch it burn.

Nick: Yeah, because it was a controlled burn or something. They’re just sitting on the sidelines.

Hal: Yeah, the fire people couldn’t handle it.

Nick: Yeah, but it was sick.

Hal: It was like Pavlov’s dogs.

Question: How about you Julia?

Julia: I think, honestly, as an actor, the the first episode scene, just from a technical point of view, I had so much. [laughs] I had this six page speech for Elizabeth. I don’t think [unintelligible] all of it, but I was absolutely terrified, because I think the way that it shot, it’s kind of like you don’t have – I think when you see it come together, it looks as if it could have been chopped up. [laughs] It was just kind of –

Alexa: You killed it, though.

Julia: Oh, my God. Thanks, I appreciate that. Yeah, it was just really challenging, because it was also, how do I make this interesting instead of kind of having people go, “Oh, my God, when is she going to shut up?” But yeah, I think just that I sort of ended up with something that was a bit kind of technical, but that was probably my most challenging…I think, as an actor, the scenes that I love are the scenes where you don’t have any tech, so being given something [laughs], it was sort of like, “Oh, no!”

Hal: What was the question?…Sorry, my phone ran out of charge; now I’m on my computer.

Question: I was asking, were there any scenes of stunt work or dialogue that was very challenging during this whole season?

Hal: I don’t know; everyone else has answered. I don’t know, the scenes where I don’t – like a lot of the time, Silas doesn’t have many lines, and that’s a little bit like odd sometimes, like sort of the opposite. You know what I mean? I wouldn’t mind a few extra lines, so I don’t have to do all this, like, “I’m not saying anything, but I’m acting.” Sometimes it’s fun just to be able to go to set and say some shit. We’re there for so long, like six months. So, honestly, I feel like the challenging part probably was there was so much time in between, because all the storylines were so caught up. So, actually, we weren’t really working that much. Well, I wasn’t. I love being on set. I love being on set.

Julia: I think one of the really hard things was actually doing it under COVID circumstances, because when you’re rehearsing, you’ve got all this stuff around your face. You can’t really kind of see the reactions of people; you’re not interacting. I felt like I [wasn’t] able to interact with crew in the same way. So, there’s this kind of block from having this human experience. That is the sort of joy of of putting together a story and a collaborative process. The COVID restrictions has had a huge impact, I think, on the experience, just in general, of being an actor.

Hal: Yeah, I’m so glad hopefully it’s [over]. I mean, I don’t even know. Is it coming to an end? But, yeah, it gets a bit depressing a little bit when everyone’s wearing masks. Also, yeah, taking direction from a director, and you can’t really see what their emotions are or how they’re feeling, because they’re wearing a big mask and a face shield.

Kate goes to the Brady Pub and finds it is closed. Kate finds that strange but heads inside to find a decorated dinner set up by Roman.

Xander gets out of the shower in his room at the Salem Inn as Gwen enters with candy bars. Xander suggests they go out instead and have a nice dinner at Julie’s Place. Gwen says that sounds wonderful, but questions how they are going to pay for that. Xander asks who said anything about paying for it and suggests they dine and dash.

Chloe finds Brady’s body seemingly stabbed in the woods with the knife nearby as she tries to wake him up.

Victor sits at home at the Kiriakis Mansion, commenting on the stock going down. Victor calls for Maggie but Gabi and Jake walk in. Gabi asks if Titan had another bad day. Victor responds that Titan is fine but them darkening his doorstep is what gives him a problem. Gabi and Jake talk about Titan not having a CEO. Victor questions them rehearsing this but admits he still hasn’t appointed a CEO as he’s studying his options. They tell Victor that today is his lucky day as his search is over.

Chloe wakes Brady up and worries that he’s really hurt. Brady asks what happened. Chloe doesn’t know and says she just found him like this. Chloe asks if someone stabbed him and where all the blood is coming from.

Gwen questions Xander wanting to dine and dash at Julie’s Place. Xander says they’ll get a tasty dinner and it will be fun. Gwen questions stealing from Julie. Xander brings up how she’s treated them which Gwen can’t argue with. Gwen worries about their recent brushes with the law and suggests they stay clean. Xander doesn’t think they will do time for a dine and dash. Gwen wonders if Julie would call the cops. Xander can’t believe how worried she is about this. Gwen doesn’t think it’s worth the risk for a mediocre night out. Gwen says they just got through the mess with Melinda Trask. Xander then agrees that it’s not worth another tangle with the law, so they won’t dine and dash. Gwen guesses they are going back to candy bars then. Xander says he promised her a dinner so she will get one and he’ll even pay for it. Gwen asks how. Xander reveals that he just received a credit card in the mail.

Roman pours champagne for he and Kate as they toast to surprise. Kate asks what all this is for. Roman says she finally gave him the go ahead to romance her, but he hadn’t lived up to his end of the bargain and only took her on one date which was a wedding that ended in disaster. Roman thought she deserved better, so this is a do over. Roman and Kate then sit together at a table.

Rafe and Ava sit together in the town square. Rafe informs Ava that Kristen’s van didn’t make it to prison. Ava asks where she is then. Rafe says they had units searching for the last hour and he just got word that they found the van and the two guards who accompanied Kristen. Rafe says that apparently Kristen overpowered the guards and force the van off the road. Rafe adds that in the confusion of the crash, Kristen was able to get away. Ava calls it a daring escape and says it couldn’t have been easy to pull that off. Rafe says that’s why he doesn’t believe Kristen pulled it off herself and that she had help. Rafe then informs Ava that he thinks he’s staring at her accomplice as he speaks.

Victor questions Jake and Gabi thinking he should hire them to be CEO of Titan. Gabi argues that they have more than enough experience. Jake asks if he wants their pitch which Victor says he’d laugh at. Gabi insists that they are the only ones who can save Titan from it’s current freefall. Victor asks why them. Gabi says they have executive experience and they’ve worked at Titan before. Jake says they are very famiilar with the daily operations. Gabi asks who is more capable that he could find. Victor doesn’t give a damn about their business experience as he would never hire them. Victor declares if he’s going to replace Philip, he can do that with a member of his own family.

Brady tells Chloe that he doesn’t know where the blood came from but he doesn’t think it’s his. Chloe asks what’s wrong with him then as he is slurring his words. Chloe asks if he was hit in the head. Chloe says he has to tell her what happened. Brady responds that he doesn’t even know. Chloe questions where Philip is.

Roman begins he and Kate’s dinner with chowder. They joke about it but Kate is surprised that Roman added lobster and other ingredients to it which Kate calls fantastic and Roman says he wanted to add his own touch to it. Kate acknowledges that he’s really gone all out for her which Roman says he told her that he would. Kate states that Roman is still himself. Roman responds that she makes him want to be just a little bit better.

Rafe gets up from his table with Ava and confronts Xander and Gwen who were walking by. Rafe says he needs to speak with them. Xander responds that they were on their way to dinner but Rafe says they are going to need to postpone it. Gwen asks what this is about. Rafe informs them that Kristen was being transported to prison today but she didn’t make it, as she escaped. Rafe reveals he’s going to need to take Xander in for questioning. Xander says he can’t be serious. Rafe threaten to arrest him but Xander agrees to go to the police station on his own. Xander tells Gwen they will take a rain check on dinner. Gwen asks Rafe not to keep Xander too long. Rafe responds that it won’t take long at all as long as Xander confesses. Rafe tells Ava that they will have to postpone their dinner too. Ava understands he has a job to do and says she’ll see him at the house as Rafe walks away with Xander.

Gabi tells Victor that she knows he’s always wanted one of his family members to take the reins Titan but they have all failed him one way or another. Gabi remarks that he’s driven away anyone who thought of becoming CEO. Victor acknowledges they’ve had differences of opinion but the company is still their family legacy so no Kiriakis wouldn’t jump at the chance to run Titan. Gabi and Jake bring up Xander and how he quit because Victor kept passing him over Philip and now wants nothing to do with him. Jake brings up Justin, who Gabi notes has never been interested in the corporate world. Gabi adds that Sonny moved to Arizona to run any business but this one. Victor says they made their point but declares that they forgot about Brady.

Brady repeats that the blood is not his. Chloe tells Brady that Philip was here earlier and asks if he’s seen him. Brady complains that Chloe is talking about Philip all the time and he doesn’t deserve her. Chloe asks again if Brady saw him here earlier. Brady then passes out, so Chloe pulls out her phone and calls 911 for an ambulance at the river bank.

Roman asks Kate if she’s ready for the second course. Kate guesses it’s a burger but Roman presents her with filet mignon. Roman points out that they still haven’t really gone public with their status yet. Kate jokes about if he wants to go on social media or take out an ad in the paper. Roman wants to tell their nearest and dearest. Kate realizes he means their kids. Roman asks if Kate has told her kids yet. Kate asks if he has told his. Roman notes that Carrie and Eric are out of the country and he hasn’t talked to them since Kate gave him the word. Kate says that’s two of his kids. Roman says Sami is where ever Sami goes, so he asks Kate if she has told her kids that they are back together.

Gwen sits with Ava in the town square. Gwen says she’s lost her appetite. Ava thought for a second that Rafe was going to arrest Gwen. Gwen almost wishes he had because Xander has been accused of doing something he didn’t do again and it’s something she did. Gwen complains that it isn’t right. Ava tells her that getting caught isn’t going to help anything. Gwen can’t believe it because she is the one person who can clear Xander’s name, but she can’t do that without implicating herself. Gwen goes over how the whole reason she agreed to help Kristen escape was so that she wouldn’t lose Xander, but now if he goes to jail then she’s going to lose him anyway.

Rafe brings Xander to the interrogation room at the police station. Rafe offers him a granola bar since they both had to skip dinner but Xander says he’ll pass. Xander complains that Rafe has destroyed his evening and asks why he thinks he had anything to do with Kristen escaping from her prison transport. Rafe brings up that Xander used to work for Kristen. Xander argues that he worked with her and it was a long time ago. Rafe feels it wasn’t that long ago. Xander reminds him that it was before Kristen hated his guts for switching her baby with Sarah’s. Rafe believes Kristen would forgive him if he could find a way to secure her freedom. Xander assures he had nothing to do with it. Rafe questions Xander just happening to show up on the same day that Kristen was being transported to prison. Xander reminds him that he came to ask questions about Sarah and that Rafe was there to hear him. Rafe acknowledges that he did and says it didn’t make sense to him that Kristen had anything to do with Sarah leaving him. Xander argues that it doesn’t have to make sense to Rafe because it’s none of his damn business. Rafe responds that it is if he’s using that story as a front to break Kristen out of here.

Kayla and Chloe get Brady in to a hospital bed. Kayla finds nothing and asks Chloe about finding him like this. Chloe confirms that and that he said he wasn’t hurt. Kayla thinks he’s right as she doesn’t see any lacerations or puncture wounds. Kayla notes that Brady’s vitals are stable and doesn’t seem to be any stress. Chloe argues that something happened because she found him and he seemed confused, slurring his words, and then he just passed out. Kayla notes there is a bump on his head. Chloe wonders if that’s where the blood is coming from but Kayla says there is no wound. Kayla says she’ll order a CT scan to make sure he’s not concussed but she doesn’t see any injuries.

Gabi questions Victor thinking that Brady is going to take over Titan. Jake reminds Victor that Brady is working at DiMera. Gabi says she’s heard Brady is happy there so she asks Victor if he wants to mention any other family members. Victor begrudgingly accepts that the next CEO of Titan won’t have Kiriakis blood in them. Victor then brings up that Gabi and Jake are the ones who put spyware on Philip’s computer, so he questions why he should hire two people who tried to destroy the company.

Kate asks Roman if he thinks the kids are really interested in their love life after all this time. Roman jokes that when he assumes they don’t care, that’s when they leap in with all their opinions. Kate says they aren’t hiding anything but she thought she would tell Philip and Lucas next time she sees them. Roman questions when that will be. Kate says she’s called them but they haven’t answered her messages. Roman jokes that the older they get, the harder they are to pin down. Kate points out that they have their lives to live too. Roman says that’s why he enjoys a good family holiday because it obligates them all to come home. Roman points out there happens to be one around the corner. Kate realizes he wants to get everyone together to break the news around Christmas time. Roman points out that they usually have a get together here for the kids and grandkids anyway so he suggests making that their coming out party. Kate agrees it would be kind of a good idea to tell everyone at the same time and jokes that if there’s any fallout then at least they are a team. Roman declares that Sami and Eric, Lucas and Philip will all be in the same room and they might even get to see their son Rex. Kate wonders if they’ll ever get Rex to take a break from saving lives with Doctors without Borders. Roman thinks if they both work on him together, they might be able to convince him to bring Sarah home for a real holiday celebration. Kate toasts to that.

Gwen tells Ava that this was never supposed to happen as Kristen said this wouldn’t come back to her. Gwen complains that Ava’s boyfriend came and took her boyfriend away from their dinner plans. Ava insists it will all work out, reminding Gwen that Xander is innocent so Rafe doesn’t actually have anything on him. Gwen worries about Xander being questioned still but Ava assures her that he’s just fishing. Ava says she can tell when the cops have the goods and when they are just bluffing. Ava repeats that Rafe doesn’t have anything on Xander. Gwen can’t help thinking that this whole thing is going to fall apart anyway, even if Xander doesn’t get busted. Gwen says the whole reason that she went to these lengths was to make sure Xander didn’t get back with Sarah. Ava thought that Sarah left town to be with Rex but realizes there is more to the story. Gwen tells her to forget she said anything. Ava questions if Gwen doesn’t trust her after they just committed a felony together, warning she would have plenty of leverage over her if she needed. Gwen acknowledges that Ava is right and admits she’s been dying to tell somebody about what she did.

Kate tells Roman that it feels like dessert time. Roman presents her with creme brulee. Roman says they had something very special a few years ago even if it didn’t last, but now they are back in style. Kate asks if he doesn’t think it’s too early for all of this since they’ve only been back together for a day and a half. Roman thinks it should’ve happened a long time ago. Kate tells Roman that he did really good tonight. Roman thanks her.

Xander questions why Rafe would think him confronting Kristen about Sarah dumping him was a front. Rafe says it got him in the building and then no one would be suspicious when they saw him leave. Xander says he only left because he didn’t get any satisfaction. Rafe suggests he could have followed Kristen to the prison transfer fan. Xander says it makes no sense and asks why he’d lift a finger to help Kristen when she has done nothing but cause him grief. Rafe suggests maybe he felt he owed her after the baby switch. Xander insists that he owes her nothing. Xander brings up that Kristen is the one who called him to tell him about Sarah and Rex, so because of her, he walked in on them in bed on his wedding day. Xander says it almost destroyed him, so rotting in prison for the next few years is too good for Kristen. Xander adds that if someone helped her break out, he hopes he locks them up too.

Gwen reveals to Ava that Sarah is not with Rex, but on some tropical deserted island that Kristen sent her too. Ava laughs that Kristen does not mess around. Ava realizes that’s why Gwen helped break Kristen out of jail, because at any moment she could tell Xander where to find his not so runaway bride. Gwen says she’s not proud of it. Ava points out that it’s working. Gwen asks if it is because she feels terrible that Sarah is being kept away from all her friends and family. Ava points out that she doesn’t feel terrible enough to tell Xander. Gwen admits that she’d feel a lot worse if Sarah came back and took Xander from her. Ava sees that Gwen is conflicted but points out that Gwen did not kidnap Sarah. Gwen feels she’s certainly aiding and questions Ava not thinking she has anything to feel guilty about. Ava remarks that she’s not exactly an angel. Gwen worries that kidnapping is a crime. Ava advises Gwen that there’s no point in wasting time worrying about who she may have hurt as she knew what she wanted and made her choice to get it. Gwen says her whole life has been based on other peoples’ choices. Ava says she made the best of it and so will Sarah. Gwen worries about if something happens to Sarah on that island. Ava tells Gwen that she got what she wants so she should stop worrying about how she got it.

Gabi questions Victor still being upset about the keylogger and claims they weren’t trying to take down Titan, just to get rid of Philip. Victor frowns upon corporate espionage, especially when it’s aimed at his son. Jake suggests they should go but Gabi argues that they are doing Victor a favor. Gabi calls Philip a lousy CEO and says they only installed the keylogger to expose how incompetent Philip was which Victor mocks. Gabi asks if he doesn’t believe them when he obviously agreed that Philip was in no shape to run the company or else he wouldn’t have fired his own son. Victor responds that his feelings are moot but Gabi and Jake are doing a lousy job selling themselves. Gabi disagrees but Victor says it’s not up to them. Victor declares that if they want the #1 spot at Titan, they better come up with something new and fast.

Brady starts to wake up in his hospital bed. Kayla and Chloe tell him that they are there. Kayla asks Chloe about talking to Brady before. Chloe says he just seemed really confused and then passed out. Kayla decides to call to check in on the CT scan and the other blood work as well. Chloe questions that not being Brady’s blood. Kayla says they will know soon as she sent it to the lab. Kayla asks how she found Brady anyway. Chloe explains that she was actually looking for Philip but he wasn’t there. Chloe admits that it crossed her mind that it could be Philip’s blood. Kayla asks when she last heard from him. Chloe says she left him at the river bank and then went back but only found Brady. Chloe declares that she has to find Philip and tries calling him, only to discover that Philip’s phone is in Brady’s pocket. Chloe starts to cry as Kayla questions what Brady is doing with Philip’s phone. Kayla leaves the room, then Brady wakes up. Chloe asks him what is going on, what happened, and why he has Philip’s phone. Chloe pleads with him to talk to her. Kayla returns with the blood work and announces that his blood alcohol level was over 3 times the legal limit. Chloe can’t believe Brady was drunk and says that explains why he was confused and slurring his words. Kayla adds that’s not the only result she got back as she confirms the blood on Brady’s clothes was not his, but it was O positive which Chloe confirms is Philip’s blood type.

Xander tells Rafe that if all he has is accusations, he has a dinner date waiting for him. Rafe tells Xander that he’s free to go for now. Xander repeats that he would never help Kristen. Rafe says he’s just keeping his options open. Xander tells him to eliminate him from the list. Xander says Kristen deserves to be in prison, so if someone did help her escape then he’d be very interested to know what they are getting out of it. Xander then exits the room.

Gwen asks Ava if it’s easy for her to not worry about who she might hurt. Ava says that’s just the way the world works. Ava asks if Gwen was happier without Xander and control over her own life. Gwen admits she was not. Ava advises Gwen that she’s the only person who can make herself feel guilty because she’s the only person who knows what she did. Gwen guesses she’s right. Ava adds that Xander thinks Sarah and Rex are off saving the world together, so no one needs to know otherwise…

Roman and Kate dance together. Roman jokes about saying they are a classic. Kate says tonight is one for the books which Roman is very glad to hear. Roman and Kate’s son Rex then surprises them by entering the Pub, remarking that they are just full of surprises.

Gwen: Right, so it was down to the dregs at the hotel lobby shop, but I did manage to get some very tasty double chocolate bars.

Xander: Forget the granola bars.

Gwen: Don’t tell me you’ve squirreled away some peanut butter pretzels?

Xander: No. Even better. I was thinking we could go out.

Gwen: Out? Out? As in a restaurant, out?

Xander: Yeah, why not? Treat ourselves to a nice dinner at julie’s place like a couple of civilized human beings. What do you say?

Gwen: I say that sounds absolutely wonderful, but how are we gonna pay for that, hmm? ‘Cause last time I checked, our bank accounts were both pinned on empty.

Xander: Who said anything about paying for it?

Gwen: I don’t know what you mean.

Xander: Come on. You’ve never heard of dine and dash?

Gwen: Oh, you.

Chloe: Oh my god, brady. Brady, please wake up. Please wake up.

Victor: Just when you thought the stock couldn’t go any lower. Maggie? The hell’d you do with my antacids?

Gabi: What is it? Titan had another bad day?

Victor: Titan is just fine. It’s the thought of you two darkening my doorstep that gives me a problem.

Jake: Ah, you see? Victor’s not fazed by a little downward blip in the market.

Gabi: Why should he be? He knows that titan’s gonna end up on top, even without having a ceo.

Victor: How long did you two rehearse this transparent little play?

Jake: Are we wrong about the ceo position?

Victor: I still haven’t appointed anyone. I’m studying my options.

Jake: Well, then today is your lucky day.

Gabi: Victor kiriakis, your search is over.

Chloe: Oh my god. Oh my god. Brady, please. Please wake up. Please wake up. Brady, can you hear me? Oh, thank god. Oh, thank god. Thank god.

Brady: What, chloe…?

Chloe: Don’t, don’t, don’t, don’t move. I think you’re really hurt.

Brady: Chloe. What is it? What happened?

Gwen: You want us to go to julie’s and pull a dine and dash?

Xander: Don’t tell me you’re not familiar?

Gwen: Yes, I am actually quite well-versed in the concept.

Xander: Well, then. You know how rewarding it can be. Not only do we get a tasty dinner, it would be quite fun. I mean, we’d order the most expensive thing on the menu and leave julie to pay for it. It would be great.

Gwen: You mean steal from julie?

Xander: After the way she’s treated us, it’s she least she owes us. A nice, free dinner.

Gwen: Well, I definitely can’t argue with that. But, you know, with all these recent brushes with the law, don’t you think that it’s just best to keep our noses and everything else clean?

Xander: I don’t think we’ll do time for a dine and dash. I mean, remember when I stole that whole bottle of fine scotch from julie? All she made me do was pay restitution.

Gwen: So you’re banking on julie not calling the cops, then?

Xander: I can’t believe how worried you are about this. It’s kind of adorable.

Gwen: Well, look, it’s just– I don’t really think it’s worth the risk for just an average, mediocre night out, that’s all.

Xander: Average? Mediocre?

Gwen: I mean, the meal. I don’t mean you, the company. You know, and well, we just got out of all that mess with trask, didn’t we?

Xander: All right, all right, you have a point. I guess even a michelin-star meal isn’t worth another tangle with the law. We won’t dine and dash.

Gwen: Okay. So back to the very tasty chocolate bar, then?

Xander: Absolutely not. I promised you a dinner, and a dinner you shall have. I’ll even going to pay for it.

Gwen: How?

Xander: Well, let’s see. Look what I received in the mail today. Plenty of credit to spare.

Roman: Cheers.

Kate: Just cheers? I mean, how am I gonna toast if I don’t know what I’m toasting?

Roman: Well, okay then. Let’s drink to surprise.

Kate: Okay. That works. Mmm, that’s lovely.

Roman: I thought you’d like it.

Kate: So okay. So what is all of this? Why the champagne?

Roman: All right, you know what? I was thinking you finally gave me the go ahead to–as I so eloquently put it, romance the hell out of you. But so far–so far, I haven’t really lived up to my end of the bargain. All right? I took you on one date, to a wedding that ended in disaster.

Kate: That was utter disaster.

Roman: Yes. So I thought we deserved better. You deserved better. So consider this a do-over. Madam, may I show you to your seat?

Kate: Oh, then. Yes, you can, sir. Thank you.

[Soft romantic music]

Ava: What do you mean, kristen’s van didn’t make it to statesville? Where is she?

Rafe: Well, we’ve had units searching for the last hour. And I finally just got word that they found the van and the two guards who were accompanying her.

Ava: Found them where?

Rafe: Well, apparently, kristen was able to overpower them and forced the van from the road.

Ava: Wow.

Rafe: Yeah. And in the confusion of the crash, she was able to get away.

Ava: That sounds like a daring escape. Couldn’t have been easy to pull that off.

Rafe: Yeah, exactly. Which is why I don’t believe for a second that she did it by herself.

Ava: What do you mean?

Rafe: I mean that she had help. And I think that I’m staring at her accomplice as I speak.

Victor: So you two think I should hire you to be ceos of titan?

Gabi: Why not? We have more than enough experience.

Jake: You want to hear our pitch?

Victor: Why not? I could use a good laugh.

Gabi: Well, you know, laugh all you want, but we’re the only ones that can save your company from its current free-fall.

Victor: Why you?

Gabi: Well, we have executive experience. We have worked at titan before, so we can hit the ground running.

Jake: Right. We’re very familiar with the day-to-day operations.

Gabi: What more capable hands are you going to find?

Victor: Is this the part where I get to respond?

Gabi: Sure. Go ahead.

Victor: How’s this? I don’t give a damn about your business experience. I don’t care if you’re steve jobs and john D. Rockefeller reincarnated. I wouldn’t hire you. Besides, if I’m gonna replace philip, I can do that from a member of my own family.

Chloe: Oh, my god.

Brady: I don’t–I don’t know. I don’t know where all this blood came from, chloe.

Chloe: What do you mean? Is–the blood’s not yours?

Brady: No, I don’t think–i don’t think so.

Chloe: Okay, what–what’s wrong with you?

Brady: There’s nothing wrong with me.

Roman: Okay. First course. Chowder.

Kate: How exotic.

Roman: We have done this together too many times for me to pretend to be anyone other than who I am.

Kate: Okay. And I wouldn’t want it any other way. I’m not complaining. All right.

[Soft music]

Mmm. Hold on. What? This isn’t the same chowder. Did you put something in it? Is this lobster?

Roman: Not to mention paprika and thyme. Look, we all know that maud’s recipe for chowder is the best of the best. Okay? It can’t be beat. That’s why we have it on the menu every single day. So for tonight, I thought, “you know what? I’m gonna add my own touch. Just to make it a little more personal.”

Kate: Wow, it is absolutely fantastic. It deserves to be on the menu.

Roman: Hey, let’s not go crazy. Have you seen the price of lobster these days?

Kate: I know. You really have gone all out for me.

Roman: I told you I would. All you had to do was say the word.

Kate: I think I’m beginning to understand. The pub, transformed. A new suit. Lobster in the chowder. You’re still you.

Roman: But you know what? You make me want to be just a little bit better.

Rafe: Excuse me. I need to speak to both of you.

Xander: Sorry, commissioner, we’re just on our way to dinner.

Rafe: Well, you’re gonna need to postpone it.

Gwen: What’s this about?

Rafe: Well, as you know, kristen dimera was being transported to statesville today.

Xander: So?

Rafe: So she didn’t make it.

Gwen: What does that mean?

Rafe: Well, gwen, it means she escaped.

Gwen: Escaped?

Rafe: That’s right. So I’m gonna need to take you in for questioning.

Gwen: Me? Why?

Rafe: Not you. Your friend here.

Gwen: Xander?

Xander: Wait, you think I know something about kristen’s escape? You can’t be serious.

Rafe: Do you want to do this the easy way, or do I need to arrest you?

Xander: I’d hardly call going down to the police station “easy,” but fine. Whatever. Lead the way.

Gwen: Xander.

Xander: Darling, you okay if we just take a rain check?

Gwen: Yes, of course. Commissioner, please don’t keep him too long.

Rafe: Yeah, it won’t take long at all, as long as he confesses. Sorry, we’re going to have to postpone ours, too.

Ava: Don’t worry about it. You’ve got a job to do. I’ll see you at the house.

Gabi: Yeah, I know you’ve always wanted one of your family members to take the reins of titan. But you know, you and i both know they have all failed you one way or another. And at this point, you’ve driven away anyone who’s thought of becoming ceo.

Victor: We have had our differences of opinion from time to time, yes.

Gabi: That’s–that’s one way to put it.

Victor: Company’s still our family legacy. There’s not a kiriakis alive who wouldn’t jump at the chance to run titan.

Jake: Like who? Xander?

Gabi: He quit because you kept passing him over for philip. He doesn’t want anything to do with you.

Jake: I suppose there’s always justin.

Gabi: Yeah, but he’s never been interested in the corporate world. You know, he’s busy taking up lost causes. Oh, and then there’s sonny. Yep, sonny, who moved to arizona to run any business but this one.

Victor: All right, all right. You’ve made your point. There’s one that you’ve forgotten, though. Brady.

Chloe: Oh, my god, brady. Okay, so philip was here earlier. Have you seen him?

Brady: Philip?

Chloe: Yes. Be careful. You’re hurt.

Brady: I’m good. The blood isn’t mine. I don’t even know whose it is.

Chloe: Okay, philip was here earlier. Did you see him?

Brady: Philip. It’s just philip. God, you’re talking about philip all the time. He doesn’t–he doesn’t deserve you. He never did. I mean–

Chloe: Doesn’t–well, did you see him here earlier?

[Line trilling] Hi. Yeah, this is an emergency. I–I need an ambulance down at the riverbank. My–my friend collapsed, and he–he’s covered in blood. We do it every night.

Roman: Are you ready for the second course?

Kate: Okay, wait a minute. Let me guess. I would say a burger, but with kobe beef?

Roman: Close.

Kate: Ah, filet mignon. Very, very nice.

Roman: Now, I could put that on a bun if you’d prefer.

Kate: Oh, no, no. No. It’s quite nice as it is. Thank you very much. But I will let you know.

Roman: Okay. Medium rare. Did I get that right?

Kate: Of course you got it right. Of course you did because you know me so well.

Roman: Well, I’ve had time to learn, both in a relationship and out of one. Speaking of which–

Kate: Yes?

Roman: I know we did go to the wedding, but we really still haven’t gone public with our status yet.

Kate: “With our status.” Okay, well, what do you want to do? You want to do a media blitz on social media? Would you like to take out a full-page ad in “the spectator” or what?

Roman: You know what? I love that a lot, but no. I’m just thinking about, you know, telling our nearest and dearest.

Kate: The kids.

Roman: Yeah. Yeah. Have you? Have you told yours about us yet?

Kate: No. Well, have you told yours?

Roman: Well, carrie and eric are out of the country, and I haven’t talked to them since you gave me the word.

Kate: Okay. Okay. That’s two.

Roman: Yeah, well, sami, hell. Sami’s off somewhere. Wherever sami in hell goes. You know.

Kate: So obviously, the answer is no.

Roman: Okay. Now it’s your turn. Have you told your kids that we’re back together?

Ava: I ordered rafe a burger. It’s yours if you want it.

Gwen: Thanks, but now I’m afraid I just lost my appetite.

Ava: Can’t blame you. For a second there, I thought that rafe was going to arrest you.

Gwen: You know, honestly, I think I’d be happier if he had.

Ava: Why?

Gwen: Because xander has been accused of doing something that he didn’t do yet again. Again. And it’s something that I did.

Ava: Okay. Maybe you want to keep your voice down a bit.

Gwen: Sorry. You’re right. I’m just really upset. This just isn’t– this isn’t right.

Ava: Well, you know, getting caught isn’t going to help anything.

Gwen: Yeah, I know. But I just can’t believe this. Because I am the one person who can clear his name, but I-I can’t do that without implicating myself.

Rafe: I’ve got cranberry walnut or blueberry surprise.

Rafe: I did. You know what, I’m gonna be honest with you. It really didn’t make sense to me that kristen had anything to do with sarah leaving you.

Xander: Oh. It doesn’t have to make sense to you because it’s none of your damn business.

Rafe: Well, actually it is. Especially if you’re using the story as a front to break her out of here. Nyquil severe gives you powerful relief

Chloe: So do you see anything?

Kayla: Nothing yet. So you just found him like this?

Chloe: Yeah. And–and he said that he wasn’t hurt.

Kayla: Well, I think he’s right. I don’t see any lacerations or a puncture wound, nothing that would have him hemorrhage like this.

Chloe: So he’s okay?

Kayla: Well, his vitals are stable. And he doesn’t seem to be in acute distress.

Chloe: What–I mean, something happened, kayla. I found him and he seemed confused. He was slurring his words and then he just passed out.

Kayla: Well, he does have a bump on his head. I mean, it could be some kind of trauma that caused him to lose consciousness.

Chloe: Could that be where the blood’s from?

Kayla: I searched his entire scalp, and there is no wound. I’m gonna order a ct scan just to make sure that he isn’t concussed. But as far as any injuries, I just don’t see any.

Gabi: You think brady is going to take over titan?

Jake: Last I checked, brady was working with my brothers at dimera.

Gabi: Yeah, and from what I hear, he’s happy there. So any other family members you’d like to mention?

Victor: All right. Fine. So the next ceo of titan won’t have kiriakis blood in his veins.

Gabi: And here we are.

Jake: Here we are.

Victor: You’re forgetting one very important detail.

Gabi: What’s that?

Victor: You’re the ones that planted the spyware to take down philip. Why should I hire two people who’d be running titan who tried to destroy the company?

Kate: Seriously, roman, after all this time, do you think the kids are really interested in our love life?

Roman: You know what? If I have learned one thing, it’s when I assume my kids don’t care, that’s exactly when they leap in with all their opinions.

Kate: Well, it’s not like we’re trying to hide anything, you know. I mean, I thought that would tell philip and lucas the next time I saw them.

Roman: Which is when?

Kate: Well, I’ve called them. I mean, they just haven’t answered my messages yet.

Roman: The older they get, the harder they are to pin down.

Kate: Well, they do have their lives to live too, you know.

Roman: Yeah, which is exactly why I love a good family holiday. Because it pretty much obligates them all to come home. And would you look at that? There happens to be one right around the corner.

Kate: Oh, like–all right. So now I see where this is all going. You want to get everyone together so we can break the news at christmas time, right. Is that it?

Roman: You know, we usually have a get-together here for the kids and grandkids anyway. You know, why not make that our coming out party?

Kate: Actually, it would be kind of a good idea to tell everyone at the same time, right. I mean, if there’s any fallout, at least we’re a team.

Roman: Exactly. Sami and eric and lucas and philip will all be in the same room. And who knows, we may get lucky and see our son then, too.

Kate: Yeah. Do you ever think we’re going to be able to get rex to take a break from saving lives with doctors without borders?

Roman: You know, I’ve been thinking about that. And I think if we both work on him together, we just might be able to convince him to bring sarah home for a real holiday celebration.

Kate: Oh, my gosh. Cheers to that.

Roman: Right.

Gwen: This was never supposed to happen. Kristen said this wouldn’t come back at me.

Ava: Okay, would you calm down? It’s like you want to tell the whole square your business.

Gwen: That’s so easy for you to say, isn’t it? ‘Cause my boyfriend didn’t just come and take your boyfriend in for questioning while you were on your way to a nice dinner, did he?

Ava: I’m sorry you had to cancel your plans, but it’s all going to work out.

Gwen: Yeah?

Ava: Yeah.

Gwen: How?

Ava: Have you forgotten? Xander’s innocent. So rafe doesn’t actually have anything on him.

Gwen: Then why did he take him in for questioning?

Ava: I don’t know. Fishing expedition. You know, round up the usual suspects, that sort of thing.

Gwen: Are you sure?

Ava: Take it from someone who has stonewalled her fair share of police interrogations. I can tell when the cops have the goods and when they’re just bluffing.

Gwen: You think rafe is bluffing?

Ava: Like I said, he doesn’t have anything. All right. Take a deep breath. Have a fry, maybe two.

Gwen: Yeah, okay.

Ava: Better, huh?

Gwen: You’re right.

Ava: What?

Gwen: I don’t know. I just can’t–I can’t help thinking that this whole thing is just gonna fall apart anyway, even if xander doesn’t get busted. I mean, the whole reason I went to these lengths was to make sure that xander wouldn’t get back together with his ex.

Ava: Wait a minute. I thought that sarah left xander to be with her ex-husband.

Gwen: Well, I mean…

Ava: Ah. So there’s more to this story after all.

Gwen: Just forget I said anything.

Ava: Oh, what, you don’t trust me? We just committed a felony together. If I need leverage on you, oh baby, I’ve got plenty.

Gwen: I suppose you’re right. Plus, I’ve been dying to tell somebody about what I did. Psoriatic arthritis, made my joints stiff,…

Kate: This feels like dessert time.

Roman: Not just dessert. The piece de resistance. Creme brléE. I torched it myself.

Kate: My favorite.

Roman: You weren’t hoping for something new and fresh?

Kate: Oh, I’ve had something new and fresh, and it wasn’t all it was cracked up to be. Mmm. The classics are the classics for a reason.

Roman: Kind of like us.

Kate: Do you think we’re a classic?

Roman: You know what? What I do know is this. We had something very, very special a few years back. I know it didn’t last, but you could think of us as back in style.

Kate: You don’t think it’s too early?

Roman: For what?

Kate: For all of this, you know. For all of it. For calling us–for calling us a classic, for wanting to make a big announcement to the family. I mean, really, roman, it’s only a date and a half.

Roman: I think it should’ve happened a long time ago. How about you?

Kate: I think that you did good tonight, roman. I think you did real good.

Roman: Thank you.

Xander: Why the hell would you think that me confronting kristen about my fiancée dumping me was a front?

Rafe: It got you in the building, didn’t it? And then, no one would be suspicious when they saw you leave.

Xander: I only left because I didn’t get any satisfaction.

Rafe: Mm-hmm. Or maybe you followed kristen out to the prison transfer van.

Xander: No. And your entire premise makes no sense. Why would I lift a finger to help that woman? She’s done nothing but cause me grief.

Rafe: No. Maybe you felt like you owed her after the baby switch.

Xander: I owe her nothing. I mean, she’s the one who called me to tell me that sarah was hooking up with rex. Because of her, I had to walk in on the love of my life with another man on my wedding day.

Rafe: That must have been rough.

Xander: Rough? It almost destroyed me. So commissioner, believe me when I say that rotting in prison for the next few years is too good for kristen dimera. And if someone helped her break out, I hope you lock them up, too.

Ava: So sarah’s not off with rex?

Gwen: No. She’s fending off bugs on some tropical deserted island where kristen sent her to.

Ava: Kristen does not mess around, does she?

Gwen: Exactly.

Ava: So that’s why you helped break her out of jail. Because at any moment, she can tell xander where to find his not-so-runaway bride.

Gwen: I’m not proud of it.

Ava: Hey, it’s working.

Gwen: Is it working, really? Because honestly, I feel terrible that this poor woman is being kept away from all her friends and family.

Ava: Not terrible enough to tell xander.

Gwen: No. Of course not. Because I’d feel a lot worse if she came back and took him from me.

Ava: Look, I can see you’re conflicted, gwen. But you know, you didn’t kidnap her.

Gwen: I’m certainly aiding and abetting, aren’t I? You really don’t think that I have anything to feel guilty about?

Ava: I’m not saying it’s not shady or not even illegal, okay? But you’re not exactly an angel.

Gwen: I know. But kidnapping is–it–

Ava: Just a word, gwen. It’s just a word.

Gwen: It’s also a crime.

Ava: Okay. From someone who has made her living on the wrong side of the law, can I offer you a little advice?

Gwen: Advice? Advice from a career criminal. That’s–that’s perfect.

Ava: There’s no point in wasting time worrying about who you may have hurt. You knew what you wanted and you made your choice to get it. People do it every day. Right?

Gwen: Yeah.

Ava: Yeah.

Gwen: They certainly did that to me. My whole life was based on other people’s choices.

Ava: Hey. And you were collateral damage. Right? It’s not pretty. You made the best of it. And so will sarah.

Gwen: What if something happens to her on that island?

Ava: Gwen, you got what you want, right? Stop worrying about how you got it.

Gabi: Don’t tell me you’re still upset about the keylogger. We weren’t–we weren’t trying to take down titan. We were trying to get rid of philip.

Victor: Oh, well, call me old-fashioned, but I tend to frown on corporate espionage, especially when it’s aimed at my son.

Jake: You know, gabs, maybe we should go.

Gabi: Go? What–we’re doing–we’re doing victor a favor.

Victor: A favor?

Gabi: I mean, come on. Philip is a lousy ceo. I–I know he’s your son. We only installed that keylogger to expose how incompetent philip was.

Victor: Well, if that’s the case, why didn’t you say so?

Gabi: You–you don’t believe us? You obviously agree that philip is in no shape to run this company. I mean, why else would you fire your own son?

Victor: My feelings about philip as a ceo are moot. But if you’re trying to sell yourselves, you’re doing a lousy job.

Gabi: I disagree.

Victor: Well, it’s not up to you, is it? So if you want the number one spot at titan, you’d better come up with something new, and fast.

Kayla: Brady? It’s kayla. You’re at the hospital. Can you hear me?

Chloe: Brady, brady, I’m here, too, okay?

Kayla: You said you talked to him before?

Chloe: I-yeah, but he didn’t say much. He just seemed really confused, and then he passed out.

Kayla: I’m gonna message the lab and find out what the hold-up is on the ct. I’ll check on the other blood work as well.

Chloe: If that’s not his blood–

Kayla: Well, we’ll know soon enough. I swabbed everything and I sent it to the lab.

Chloe: Okay.

Kayla: How did you find him anyway? Did he call you?

Chloe: No. I was–I was looking for philip, actually.

Kayla: Well, did you see philip?

Chloe: No, he wasn’t there.

Kayla: Chloe, do you think–

Chloe: That that could be philip’s blood? Yeah, it’s crossed my mind.

Kayla: When was the last time that you heard from him?

Chloe: I left him at the riverbank, and when I back there, I just–I just found brady, but–I have to find him.

[Line trilling]

[Phone ringing]

Kayla: What is brady doing with philip’s phone? I’ve lost count of how many asthma attacks I’ve had.

Brady: [Groans]

Chloe: Brady. Brady, it’s me. It’s chloe. Can you hear me?

Brady: Chloe. Chloe.

Chloe: Brady, can you– can you tell me what’s–what’s going on? What happened? What happened? What–why do you have philip’s phone? Brady, talk to me. What–what–what’s going on?

Kayla: Chloe, I just got brady’s blood work back.

Chloe: And?

Kayla: And his blood alcohol level was 0.25, over three times the legal limit.

Chloe: Oh my god. He was drunk? That explains why he was confused and slurring his words.

Kayla: That’s not the only result I got back. As suspected, the blood on his clothing was not his. It’s o positive.

Chloe: O positive?

Kayla: Does that mean something to you?

Chloe: We–we gave blood together once, but I know that o positive is philip’s blood type.

Xander: If accusations are all you have to throw at me, I have a dinner date waiting for me.

Rafe: You’re free to go for now.

Xander: For now? Look, how much clearer can I make it? I would never help kristen.

Rafe: Just keeping my options open.

Xander: Well, eliminate me from your list. Kristen dimera deserves to be in prison. If someone did help her escape, might be very interested in knowing what they’re getting out of it.

[Tense music]

Ava: I’m not sure rafe’s gonna like this reheated. I can always make meatballs out of it.

Gwen: This is easy for you, isn’t it?

Ava: What is?

Gwen: Just not worrying about who you might hurt.

Ava: I never said it’s easy. It’s just–it’s the way the world works. I mean, were you happier when you didn’t have xander, when you didn’t have control over your own life?

Gwen: No, I wasn’T. Not even close.

Ava: Exactly. Hey. Hey, let me offer you one more bit of advice. You are the only person who can make yourself feel guilty. Because you’re the only person who knows what you did.

Gwen: I guess you’re right.

Ava: I know I am. Look, and as far as xander is concerned, he thinks that sarah and rex are off together saving the world. And no one needs to know otherwise.

[Romantic music playing]

Roman: You still not ready to say we’re classic?

Kate: Well, I mean, I can’t really speak for the whole relationship, but as for tonight, I think it’s one for the books.

Roman: I am glad to hear that.

Kate: Really? How glad?

Roman: Very glad.

Rex: Well, aren’t you two just full of surprises?

Ridge: I don’t want that. I didn’t want it to come to this. But you’re insisting to be with deacon, and I don’t know what else to do.

Hope: He’s my father, ridge.

Ridge: Well, he’s more than that to me.

Hope: Whatever he has done in the past, it does no good for me to hold on to a grudge–

Ridge: Well, it’s not as easy for some of us. I see him and I see your mother’s betrayal and her affair.

Hope: So then what does that make me?

Hope: And besides, it’s not like the two of you were together then anyways.

Ridge: Together now. You wanna be with deacon, you gotta do it someplace else. I will not let him come between me and my wife.

Liam: Hey. Um, I was gonna check the mail today. Douglas is expecting an invitation to his friend’s birthday party.

Brooke: How cute. Yeah. I think I have that right here for you. Oh. Also, I wanna add some goodies to the kids’ lunches today.

Liam: Aw. That’s thoughtful. This is what I’m talking about. You’re always looking out for us. We appreciate it.

Brooke: Yeah. Well, I love having you and hope and the kids so close by.

Liam: Well, we’re lucky to be here.

Brooke: It really scared me when she threatened to move away if I didn’t accept her relationship with deacon. And I know you still have reservations about her father, but I think maybe we need to… respect her wishes.

Liam: I’m trying. It’s not easy. I mean, I’ll be lying if I said I wasn’t worried. But, you know, I’m saying all the same things ridge is.

Brooke: Yeah. It’s just not really up to us, is it? I mean, ridge is gonna have to find a way to make peace with deacon.

[Door closes]

Liam: Hey. I, uh– I was just up at the main house getting our mail. Douglas got invited to that party, so that’s good.

Hope: Yeah, that’s great.

Liam: Um… ridge showed up just as I was leaving. Kind of seemed like he came from here.

Liam: Did you guys get into it about deacon?

Hope: [Clears throat] Yeah. He’s kicking us out.

Liam: What?

Hope: We have to find somewhere to move because ridge ordered us off the property.

Brooke: You went down to the cabin to talk to hope?

Ridge: Yep.

Brooke: What about?

Ridge: [Sighs] It seems to me we fought all our lives to be happy, and-and all I want is some peace.

Brooke: Well, that’s all I want, too. And I don’t wanna talk about deacon anymore.

Ridge: I think that’s possible now.

Brooke: Now?

Ridge: I did something, um, for the family, for all of us.

Brooke: What did you do, ridge?

Ridge: I was talking to hope, and I told her if she wants to spend time with deacon, she’s gonna have to live somewhere else.

Sheila: Well, hello again to you, too. Deacon, you can’t just keep coming here eating my food and drinking my booze and not giving me anything in return.

Deacon: I’m gracing you with my presence, aren’t I, sheila?

Sheila: Yes. Well, not as much as you used to. Been quite mysterious lately.

Sheila: Come on. Why don’t you just move back in? I’ll give you the bed. Better yet, we could– we could share the bed. You’re stressed. I’m stressed. Maybe we can…help each other relieve some tension.

Deacon: I…can’T. I’m trying to clean up my image for hope… and for brooke.

Sheila: Oh, my gosh. You are king of the dreams, aren’t you? You need to get your head out of the clouds, because you are nuts– you’re nuts if you think you have a shot with brooke.

[Hall & oates “you make my dreams” plays]

Hope: I can’t believe this is actually happening.

Liam: I mean…[Scoffs] Is it possible that-that what ridge said was, like, more of a heat-of-the-moment thing. Like, he doesn’t actually want us to physically move out.

Hope: No. No. He made himself crystal clear that either I shut my father out of my life, or we find another place to live.

Liam: God, that’s– that’s really extreme, especially considering it doesn’t just affect you and me.

Hope: No. It affects the kids. And the connection to family is important to me. And it means a lot to have mom there when the kids come home from school.

Liam: He really didn’t run any of this by brooke?

Hope: No. Brooke would’ve shut it down immediately. She’s gonna be devastated when she finds out.

Liam: Yeah, especially ’cause she was literally just saying how happy she is that we’re here.

Hope: I am mostly just sad for beth and douglas. Because they’ve grown so close to my mom. They love their grandma, and then they get to see the aunts and uncles whenever they come to visit.

Liam: Hey. Well, listen. No. No. That’s not gonna change no matter where we’re living.

Hope: We just– we have so many wonderful memories here. There is where we started our life together.

Liam: But maybe… ridge is right.

Brooke: You asked hope to move out?

Ridge: No, I didn’t ask her. I told her to. Oh, my god, ridge. How could you?

Ridge: I had to do something.

Brooke: It is not our place to dictate to her what she can or cannot do.

Ridge: It is our place. We’re the heads of this family. We have to do whatever we can to protect all of us.

Brooke: From deacon?

Ridge: Yes, from deacon! Hope doesn’t listen to me. She doesn’t listen to you. She doesn’t listen to anybody.

Brooke: Look, I am trying everything that I can do so that I-I support her, so I don’t alienate heR.

Ridge: Oh–

Brooke: And all you’re doing is pushing her away.

Ridge: That’s–no. I’m setting boundaries.

Brooke: We can’t prevent her from seeing her father.

Ridge: We can forbid him from coming here anytime he wants to. If she wants to be with him, do it somewhere else, and I know, yes, deacon is on his best behavior now. It’s his best behavior until he’s not, until–

Brooke: Until what?

Ridge: Until someone gets hurt. Until this chaos starts all over again. Brooke, if this clown is anything, he’s predictable.

Brooke: You had no right. This is my daughter we’re talking about.

Ridge: Yeah, it’s your daughter– your daughter with deacon.

Sheila: You actually think that brooke would throw ridge away, the–the love of her life, her soulmate, her destiny? You actually believe she would leave him for you?

Deacon: Hate to dine and dash, but I gotta go.

Sheila: Oh, where you gonna go?

Deacon: I don’t know. Maybe I’ll sleep in my car or find a park bench or something.

Sheila: You are that desperate to impress brooke. Wow, you–you’re… [Laughs] You really think you have a chance with her.

Deacon: You never know.

Sheila: Where–where is all this cockiness suddenly coming from?

Deacon: Stranger things have happened.

Sheila: Yeah, but I thought brooke couldn’t stand the sight of you. Are you–are you truly that charming, huh?

Deacon: Some would say irresistible.

Sheila: Come on. Come on. What is it, deacon? Did something happen?

Deacon: I don’t wanna jinx it.

Sheila: Oh! Stop being so cryptic.

Deacon: Ah.

Sheila: You are so annoying right now.

Deacon: Let’s just say that, uh, I’m sensing a little shift over at casa del brooke, a little tension in the air.& Yeah, brooke and ridge– they may not be quite as solid as everyone thinks. Wipes. Wipes. Wipes. Why the waste?

Liam: I know what you’re– okay, just hold–hold on. Just give me–just give me A…

Hope: [Sighs]

Liam: Hear me out for one second, okay? Please?

Hope: Ridge has asked us to move out on his own accord. What possible way is there to justify it?

Liam: It’s– it’s not justified. I’m not trying to justify. I’m just saying maybe– maybe there’s a different way of looking at it. Right? Like, as– as an opportunity to try something new, different.

Hope: We’ve been so happy here.

Liam: Well, we’ve been happy because…we’re happy. Right? I mean, we’re happy because we’re with each other, not–not because of these walls. And besides, we have a family now, like kind of a big one. Maybe we could use the space. It’s not like we can’t afford it.

Hope: Liam, that is not the point.

Liam: I know. I-I’m just saying that we have the means to go anywhere we want. Like, we could live somewhere where the kids can visit grandma every single day if they wanted to, right? We can be that close.

Hope: But you know it’s not going to be the same.

Liam: Well, you know, what about the tension that deacon is causing between ridge and your mom? We don’t wanna be a part of that, do we?

Hope: No, I don’T. It’s just… this little cabin has become… our little sanctuary.

Liam: Yeah. Yeah, it has, I know. And I–trust me, I hate the thought of never lighting another fire in that fireplace or never cooking eggs on that little iron stove for the kids again.

Hope: You hate that stove.

Liam: I hate that stove. It never–like, 40% of the time, it works, and you need to use a match. Like what? Doesn’t matter, doesn’t matter. I’m just saying… maybe it’s time to leave this place behind and go make memories somewhere new, somewhere that’s entirely ours.

Brooke: Hope is my daughter.

Ridge: I know, and I-I-i don’t mean to push her away, but what do I do? She’s got this fixation with deacon. I don’t–

Brooke: Fixation? You act like he’s a random guy. This is her father.

Ridge: I don’t want him in my house!

Brooke: My house. You moved into my home.

Ridge: Really? We’re doing that? Okay.

Brooke: And this is hope’s home, too. She has every right to be here. So it’s their choice if they move out or not.

Ridge: But it doesn’t work this way.

Brooke: Ridge. I adore having them here. I want them to stay. I mean, it really broke my heart when she threatened me that she was moving out.

Ridge: All right, well, you can still see them every day. It’s not like they’re not welcome here.

Brooke: You know what? You really should have consulted me before you went there.

Ridge: Why? You would have tried to talk me out of it. If she wants to be with deacon, then let her do it. Just move out for a little while.

Brooke: No. No! My daughter is not moving out.

Deacon: Yeah, brooke and ridge–they’ve, uh, they’ve been having troubles lately–pressures on their marriage.

Sheila: Because of you.

Deacon: Oh, I don’t think I have that kind of power.

Sheila: That’s because you don’T. I think you’re reading a lot more into this, deacon. It’s a severe case of wishful thinking.

Deacon: Mm, I don’t know, sheila. Seems like ridge is about to lose his cool.

Sheila: Ridge has always been a hothead.

Deacon: Mm, yeah, but he took things to a new level today. You know that egomaniac– he doesn’t want me anywhere near beverly hills.

Sheila: Oh! [Laughs] No duh. Why don’t you just tell me something I don’t already know?

Deacon: Okay. I overheard ridge talking to hope. He told my daughter that he wants her to move out, vacate the premises.

Sheila: No. Give her the boot?

Deacon: Yep. Yeah, he says it’s affecting his marriage. Either she cuts ties with me, or it’s sayonara, sweetheart.

Sheila: Well, that sounds a little extreme.

Deacon: Well, that’s how threatened this guy is of an unemployed ex-con, so yeah, there’s trouble in paradise, big-time.

Sheila: So you think that this is a good opportunity for you.

Deacon: Mm-hmm.

Sheila: Maybe an opportunity to win back brooke’s heart? Maybe get into her bed?

[Laughs] You’re crazy. [Laughing]

Sheila: [Snorts, laughs]

Deacon: What, do you think I’m some kind of joke?

> Sheila: Yeah, I’m starting to think you’re a bigger fool than I ever pegged you to be. Look, deacon… don’t be upset. I mean, there might be trouble in paradise over there. But I just–I just think that we could have a little bit of our own paradise… right here. I am feeling a little bit naughty.

Deacon: Hmm.

Sheila: What do you say?

Deacon: I’m saving myself.

Sheila: Oh, my gosh! I–I just don’t get it. I-I-I–what is the spell that every man in la has with brooke logan? I don’t get it. I don’t understand it.

Deacon: Then you should get your eyes checked.

Sheila: There’s nothing wrong with these eyes.

Deacon: Look, sheila, don’t take this the wrong way, but you’re not brooke. What?

Sheila: No offense, but brooke is no sheila.

Deacon: [Chuckles]

Sheila: Oh, my gosh, you’re falling for her again.

Deacon: She’s hot. I mean, that’s not a secret.

Sheila: You never got over her, did you?

Deacon: She’s the mother of my kid.

Sheila: And that’s all she’s ever gonna be, deacon. Because women like brooke, they don’t fall for men like you. No job, no money, no prospects. Rap sheets as long as their tennis courts.

Deacon: Okay, you know what? Stop, stop, please? Enough with the negativity. God, stop. I know what I heard ridge say. He’s kicking hope and her kids to the curb. That is a bad move. Bad move. And when brooke finds out…

[Chuckles] It ain’t gonna go over well. All it’s gonna do is cause more tension between the two of them.

Sheila: Even if it does, she’s not gonna come running to you.

Deacon: I don’t know. Things have changed. Hope wants me in her world. She–she wants us to be family, and brooke is backing hope, which means she’s backing me. And ridge, well, he’S… how do the french say it? Losing his freaking mind.

Sheila: [Chuckles] You’re gonna do everything in your power, aren’t you, to make sure that ridge goes over the edge?

Ridge: I know you’re disappointed. I’m disappointed, too.

Brooke: Okay. Well… we just can’t let this come between us, ridge.

Ridge: No, it won’T. Can’T. How did this whole thing start, anyway? Writing letters? I didn’t even know he knew how to read.

Brooke: [Sighs] She wants a relationship with her father.

Ridge: With a guy who’s gonna let her down. You gotta understand, I’m– I’m doing this because I want to protect you and hope.

Brooke: By removing her from her house? Look…I know this is hard for you. I do, I understand that. I’m sorry. But sometimes marriages aren’t always smooth sailing. I mean… look at the past. There was taylor and thomas and his obsession with my daughter.

Ridge: I’m sorry. Are you comparing deacon to thomas?

Brooke: No, of course not. Just trying to make a point. You know, I accepted thomas, and everything that he was going through. Now it’s your turn to accept hope, and her desire to have her father in her life. Come on, ridge. Let’s just deal with this together. You’re not gonna kick anybody out. Is that understood?

Liam: Hey… uh… sorry if we’re…interrupting.

Hope: You’re talking about my dad, aren’t you?

Brooke: Ridge told me what he said to you.

Hope: Okay, well, um, speaking of… liam and I just had a very long discussion, and… we talked it through and we think that it is best if–if we do move out.

Brooke: No, this is ridiculous. I’m not going to accept this.

Hope: But ridge has been–

Brooke: Ridge and I will work through this, but you are my daughter. And you’re raising my grandchildren here. Nobody is going to force you out.

Deacon: I’ve just about had it with that arrogant jerk trying to control me. If my return has caused a rift in ridge’s marriage, guess what? I’ll be there to pick up the pieces for brooke. Who knows? Maybe someday we’ll be… reunited as a family.

Ashland went to Victoria’s office and gave her a large bouquet. Delighted, she asked what the occasion was. He said it was about him being thankful for every day of his life with her. He just got his results from the oncologist, and there had been no further spread of the cancer. She hugged him and was thrilled. He clarified that he wasn’t in remission, but it was the best they could hope for this early in the treatment. She wanted to celebrate. At that moment, Lily arrived wanting to talk to Victoria. Ashland left. Victoria congratulated Lily on her new job. Despite everything, Victoria had tremendous respect for Lily, and not just as a businesswoman. Lily appreciated Victoria trying to buy ChancComm, because Lily didn’t want Adam to end up with it. It was hard for Lily to say this, and she hadn’t been sure that she should discuss this with Victoria. Lily knew Billy well, and even though he was trying to hide it, she could tell he was devastated. She’d never been down this road with him before, but she knew Victoria had. Victoria understood that Lily was worried Billy would fall back into his old addictive and self destructive behaviors.

Lily was sure that Victoria had considered the possibility that Billy could backslide if he lost ChancComm. She assumed that was one of the reasons Victoria offered to buy it. Lily said if Adam bought ChancComm, he’d rub it in Billy’s face. Victoria felt that Billy brought a lot of this on himself when he used that damning and unsubstantiated evidence to blackmail her father and brother. Lily thought they should acknowledge that the information on Ashland was true. Lily didn’t condone the way Billy used it, but she asked if Victoria really thought the punishment fit the crime. Should Billy lose everything? Victoria didn’t know Billy was going to take the initiative and step down. Lily countered that Victoria made it clear that if she bought ChancComm, Billy would be out. Sometimes Lily felt like Victoria only wanted to help Billy when it benefited Victoria. “Doesn’t the father of your children deserve better?,” Lily asked. Victoria wondered if Lily was here for advice or to rake her over the coals. Victoria wouldn’t justify her actions as CEO of Newman/Locke, but she’d tell Lily what to look for if Billy suffered a relapse. Lily appreciated that. Victoria said Billy would go missing at times if he relapsed, and when he returned, the story he gave wouldn’t add up. “You’ll know that he’s lying to you,” Victoria said. Victoria said that Billy would start drinking at odd hours of the day and night, but mostly he’d be on a manic high, feeling invincible and like everyone was wrong and he was the only one who was right. Lily knew it would be bad, but this sounded ugly. Victoria said any combination of those signs meant Billy was headed for a fall. Due to the children, Victoria hoped Lily would let her know if Billy did something concerning. Lily said she would. She thanked Victoria and asked her to keep this conversation private. Victoria agreed, and Lily left.

Ashland returned, and Victoria said Lily was worried about Billy and what this huge reversal would do to him emotionally. Ashland recalled that Victoria had the same concerns. Victoria said Lily never dealt with Billy falling off the wagon, so she wanted Victoria’s advice and insight. Ashland said it must not have been easy for Lily to come to Victoria. Victoria thought it showed how concerned Lily must be about the place Billy was in. She said Lily asked her not to tell Billy about the talk. The whole conversation reminded Victoria how bad things could get. Victoria was more convinced that it was best to send the kids to boarding school after the holidays. She hadn’t told Billy yet, but she had to make him see it was for the best.

Adam saw Billy drinking at Society. Adam thought it was a little early. Billy sniped at Adam. Adam said nobody could blame Billy for losing it a bit after that spectacular fall. Billy said he was going to make sure Victor and Adam didn’t get ChancComm. Adam didn’t think Billy had the leverage to stop it. Billy said goodbye. Adam asked why Billy couldn’t leave well enough alone. He wondered why Billy had to mess with Victoria’s future – did he really think she’d appreciate that he still had a protective streak? Adam said Ashland didn’t respond well to attacks, so Billy pretty much set himself up and blew his one chance to prove he could be a leader. Adam said it was too bad, especially given everything Billy had to face. Billy said it didn’t matter what he had to face, it was still better than being Adam. Adam left. Billy revealed what he’d really been drinking when he asked the bartender for another apple juice.

Lily met Billy at ChancComm. She was sure he was feeling awful. He was fine and focused on getting back at the bastards who were responsible for driving him out of here. He laid some groundwork for his plan by making Adam believe he was a mess. He thought Adam loved every minute of it. Billy thought Adam was currently trying to figure out a way to exploit Billy. “Adam and Victor were pretty sure that I was gonna spiral out of control and that’s what I’m gonna let them believe. That I am blowing up my life.”

Lily told Billy about her conversation with Victoria. It bothered Billy that Lily thought he’d backslide. He expected that out of Victoria and Jack, but not Lily. Lily said she went to see Victoria as part of Billy’s plan. To plant the seed that Billy was headed for a fall. Billy thought that was very clever of Lily. To be honest, the conversation with Victoria gave Lily some doubts. She clarified that she loved and trusted and believed in him though. She wished he was coming to Chancellor with her, but she understood why he couldn’t. “I realize now that this wasn’t about business or a company takeover. This was a personal attack on you, which makes it a personal attack on me. And I don’t think Adam should get away with that,” Lily said. She wanted Billy to be able to clear his name so he could move on. She also realized that Victoria was a part of this – whether she was a willing participant or turned a blind eye, she was willing to let this happen to him. Meanwhile, Victoria’s husband was getting away with all his crimes. She was sorry if she made him feel like she’d broken trust with him even for a second. He said she didn’t; given his past he thought it made sense that she’d want to know what she was in for. Lily promised she wasn’t giving up on Billy the way Victoria did. She said she probably should’ve talked to him before she went to Victoria, but she did this for his plan. Billy was sure that this would get back to Victor and Adam and reinforce the narrative they thought about him. “That’s actually kind of perfect. You are kind of perfect,” he said, and he kissed her. He loved her and was grateful he was in this with her. They kissed again.

Mariah was at The Grand Phoenix. After she finished a work call, Victor showed up. He told her she was missed yesterday at the party. She blamed work obligations. She thought it was amazing that Chance was alive and well, and she said Bowie was luck to have both his parents. Victor asked about that name. She explained that it was the nickname she gave the baby when she was carrying him. He thought it was cute. He knew Abby and Chance were grateful to Mariah for delivering the child safely after everything she went through. She asked how Chance was, noting that he’d gone through an ordeal. Victor acknowledged that Mariah had also gone through an ordeal. He was going to see to it that she got justice, and he was there if she ever needed anything. She was fine, she was just trying to move on. He said that she and Chance would always be loved and supported by the entire family. He thanked her, then he parted ways.

At Crimson Lights, Sharon asked Tessa for guidance on buying a Christmas gift for Mariah. Unfortunately for Sharon, Mariah hadn’t told Tessa what she wanted. However, Tessa thought Sharon would be able to find the right gift. Tessa was sure Sharon would be happy to have Noah home for Christmas. Sharon said it would be wonderful having the kids with her. She always encouraged the kids to follow their dreams wherever it took them, but she hoped Noah would make this move permanent. Noah walked in and asked what was going on. Sharon said they were talking about Christmas gifts. Noah wanted to take some pictures of Tessa to use in the album art. He wanted the pictures to be at her most honest and raw, like her songs, stripped down and simple in a beautiful way. Sharon said Tessa came a long way from that young woman busking by the patio. Tessa said there had been a lot of changes, but that person was still inside her.

That gave Noah the idea to take pictures of Tessa on the patio. Tessa loved it. Sharon closed off the patio to customers. This was how Noah liked to work, no one looking over his shoulder and micromanaging him. Tessa did too. He said Adam asked him to do more freelance work for Newman Media. Tessa asked if that was a good thing, and Noah didn’t know. Sharon thought it was a wonderful opportunity for Noah to showcase his talents, plus he’d get well paid and contribute to a family business. Noah wasn’t eager to work with Adam. Sharon thought that Noah could at least give Adam some credit for the positive changes he made. Noah stated that Adam did terrible things to them. Sharon knew better than anyone how toxic any relationship with Adam could be, but she was sincerely convinced he was working hard to overcome his destructive ways. She thought Noah saw some of that too. Noah appreciated what Adam did for Faith, but he didn’t know if he bought Adam’s change. Sharon asked Noah to approach this like any other job offer and to focus on who Adam was now and not his past.

Later, Tessa and Noah were alone on the patio. He snapped a few pictures, and he asked how it felt to recreate the past. She felt like she was tapping into something she didn’t know was still there. He thought it was nice to let the soul guide you sometimes. She said was how she wrote – the best things came from her heart. That was how he worked too. Mariah was on her way out to the patio, but she stopped when she heard the conversation. Noah talked about what an incredible artist Tessa was. He saw her gift at the first session at Devon’s studio. She laughed, remembering what a nervous wreck she was. Mariah smiled at Tessa, who didn’t notice her. Noah said Tessa worked through it, released her first single and the rest was history. Noah was so proud of Tessa that day, and he knew Mariah was too. He said that Mariah was there that day in the studio because Devon knew Tessa would want Mariah there. Noah guessed Devon saw that connection back then. Tessa said Mariah had been there this entire crazy wild ride – they’d been through so much together. Noah asked Tessa to tell him about it.

Tessa said that Mariah believed in her when she barely believed in herself. Noah thought everyone needed a Mariah in their life. Tessa said that there was this music producer who tried to give Tessa this image that wasn’t what she wanted. Mariah was the one who gave Tessa the courage to stand up to the producer and be who she was. Tessa said Mariah produced a video where Tessa performed in public places. Tessa didn’t think she knew what it was to be in love or to be loved unconditionally – it was exhilarating and hard. Especially when you saw your person hurting and you didn’t know how to take the pain away. All you could do was hurt with them and feel what they felt, including the kind of love that consumed you. When times were good, it made you so happy that your heart ached. Mariah was choked up.

Mariah went to the counter and chatted with Sharon. She said she didn’t want to interrupt the creative flow on the patio. Sharon wanted to talk about why Mariah skipped Chance’s party last night. Sharon sensed that Mariah felt the feelings of attachment toward the baby were something bad or to be ashamed of. That wasn’t how Mariah felt. The feelings were just incredibly overwhelming, but she was dealing with them. Sharon was proud of Mariah, but she said Mariah shouldn’t feel like she should suddenly be over the traumatic ordeal. Sharon thought Chance, more than anyone, understood that. Mariah mentioned that Victor said something incredibly similar. Sharon told Mariah that no one was judging Mariah, and she shouldn’t think of herself as a problem. Mariah didn’t think of herself as a problem, and she was no longer obsessing over the baby. She said Abby and Chance had a lot to deal with, and Mariah didn’t want to be another complication. Sharon said Mariah wasn’t a complication. Mariah didn’t mean that she was a complication, but the situation was. She said that life went on while Chance was gone, and now he’d been dropped into a life he’d been AWOL from, plus there was a baby involved now. She said it had to be hard for Chance to adjust, and Bowie had to be picking up on that. Sharon was sure it was hard for all of them to adjust, but it was important that they support each other for the sake of the baby. Mariah said Dominic would always be at the forefront of her mind, and they had to make decisions on what was best for him.

Back out on the patio, Noah thought that they got some great work today. Tessa usually hated photo shoots, but Noah made it natural and easy. It was special. She smiled and turned away. “Yeah, it was,” he murmured while watching her from behind.

Mariah and Tessa went home. Mariah said Tessa was beaming, and she could tell Tessa felt good about the photo shoot. Tessa did. She said Noah had a such a creative eye, and she couldn’t wait to see what he came up with. Tessa saw Mariah and Sharon talking earlier and it seemed intense. Mariah was feeling a bit in limbo, and she was wondering if she made the right call skipping the party. She wanted to be there for Abby and Chance, but she didn’t want her issues to be a distraction. After talking with her mom, she felt really good about deciding not to go. Tessa said Mariah could’ve come to her about it. Mariah felt like all she did was talk about things with the baby when she should be focusing on Tessa’s career and album. Tessa said nothing was more important to her than Tessa. Mariah knew. She saw Tessa and Noah, and she heard all the wonderful things Tessa said about her. Tessa meant every word, and Mariah felt like she might start crying again. Tessa said she loved Mariah and they kissed.

Back at Crimson Lights, Noah smiled at the photos of Tessa.

Victor went to work and said hi to Adam. Adam thought Victor was avoiding him. Victor said he’d been busy with Abby and Chance’s return. Victor asked why Adam needed to see him. Adam said they had to put together an impressive proposal for ChancComm that would knock Jill’s socks off. Victor said he’d decided to let Victoria bid for ChancComm without their interference. Adam was upset. He said Victoria was going to use ChancComm to go after Newman Media, just like Billy did. Victor wanted Victoria to have ChancComm, since she never should’ve sold it to Billy in the first place. Adam griped that Victoria said she sold ChancComm as a business move, while what she really did was make a gift to Billy. Victor said that ChancComm would go back to Newman Enterprises where it belonged. Adam complained that Victoria’s lousy decision was being undone, while he was being forced to be the scrappy underdog. Victor said people always root for the underdog. Adam wondered if Victor had a secret motive – was he hoping for a media war with his children? Was this another test? Victor walked out.

Victor went to Victoria’s office. Victoria said she and Ashland had good news. Ashland was happy to report there had been no further spread of the cancer. Victor was glad to hear that. Victor said he decided that Newman Media wasn’t going to compete for ChancComm. He wanted ChancComm to return to the fold of Newman/Locke. Victoria asked if Adam was on board with it. Victor said that Adam had no choice but to go along with it. Victoria suggested that Adam might make his own bid. Victor said that Adam didn’t have the financial wherewithal to make his own bid, so Victor didn’t care what Adam thought.

Meanwhile, Adam was back at the office making phone calls and trying to find investors. So far, he wasn’t having any luck.

A woman entered Society wearing all black and, large dark sunglasses and a hat to hide her face. Her black painted nails were visible as she snapped photos of Billy holding his drink.

Sharon and Rey talked at Crimson Lights. Sharon raised Rey’s suspicions when she started questioning him about a book he’d recently read. She admitted that she was trying to get the author’s name because she was going to buy him the rest of the series for Christmas. She said he was a great husband, but impossible to buy gifts for. He said he didn’t need gifts; all he needed was her. She was determined to get him something, but she had no idea where to start. She noted that he didn’t wear the shirts she bought him. She just wanted to get him something he liked. He suggested a vacation for two. She didn’t think that would work, since his partner, Chance just came back. He said last year she gave him the perfect gift – the wedding. She said they couldn’t top last year because they weren’t getting married again, but they could try.

Jack went to the Grand Phoenix, and Phyllis started to strike up a conversation, but Billy walked in, and that was who Jack was here to meet. The brothers stepped into the lounge. Billy woke up with a great idea that he needed Jack’s help with. He asked Jack to join him in buying ChancComm from Jill. Billy was hoping his mom would give him a family discount. Jack asked why they’d want to buy ChancComm when it was facing a major lawsuit from Ashland. Billy said Ashland’s lawsuit was based on a lie. Billy thought there was evidence out there to prove Ashland was a criminal, and Billy wanted to fight. Billy added that Jack would get a big win over Victor, which he’d been wanting. After the way Victor and Adam treated Billy, he didn’t want to give them the win they so desperately wanted. “I am asking for your help one last time,” Billy said.

Jack turned Billy down because he thought it was a bad idea. Billy pointed out that Jack was willing to invest when ChancComm wanted to buy Cyaxares. Jack was open to buying Cyaxares because he’d thought that was what Billy needed in his life at the time. Billy said everything was fine before they went after Cyaxares; business was great, and he and Lily were in a happy healthy relationship. Jack said Billy couldn’t keep it going. Billy disagreed – he and Lily were still happy and healthy, and business was going fantastic until Adam and Victor set their trap. Jack noted that Billy walked right into the trap. “Billy I am not going to enable your latest addiction,” Jack said. Jack thought Billy was addicted to power or vengeance or taking a gamble. Billy thought that Jack was taking everything and twisting it into some narrative that he was addicted or obsessive. He said he was only doing his job, looking for a story, and he found the truth. Jack said Billy exploited the story until Adam and Victor turned the tables. Jack told Billy to let it go. Billy felt like he couldn’t count on Jack for anything. Jack told Billy to listen to himself and how desperate he sounded. After what Billy did at Victoria’s wedding, Jack didn’t think going after ChancComm was the right path for Billy. Jack said there were too many temptations and triggers. Jack asked if Billy had thought of something else to do. Rey walked in and overheard Jack say that Jill was handing control of Chancellor to Lily. Jack told Billy that there would always be a place for him at Jabot. Jack urged Billy to seek balance in his life and give up the need to hurt Adam. Billy said that wasn’t what this was about. He tried to make his pitch again, but Jack’s mind was made up.

Jack went back to Phyllis. He told her that Billy had his priorities confused again. Phyllis said there was no doubt Billy had to get his priorities straight. She didn’t judge because she’d been the same way sometimes. She rambled about priorities without actually making a point, while he listened with a confused expression. She said that if she had a friend, she’d be loyal to the end. He asked if everything was okay, and he asked if they could go somewhere private to talk.

Rey joined Billy and guessed things didn’t work out how Billy thought it would. Billy said he got played and walked into a trap he should’ve seen coming. Rey asked about the trap, but Billy said to relax because it didn’t concern Rey. Billy said that he didn’t blackmail Adam, Adam misread the situation, and he wasn’t the only one to do that. He looked over at Jack. Billy offered to buy Rey a bloody Mary. Rey passed. Billy suspected Rey was there to arrest him. He maintained that he never blackmailed Adam. Billy said that he was the one who should be pressing charges for the hack into ChancComm’s server. Rey wasn’t there to arrest Billy – the DA didn’t think there was enough to bring it to court. Rey had advice – bending the law never worked out. Billy asked if Rey told the Newmans that. Billy thought he and Rey both wanted to end this conversation forever. Rey never wanted to arrest Billy again. Billy assumed it was a different story for Adam.

Phyllis and Jack went up to her suite, and she continued to ramble about nothing. Jack stated that Phyllis could read the phone book and make it interesting, but she seemed anxious and jittery. Jack blamed himself. He said something shifted when he said he still loved her. He’d noticed some confusion between them ever since she broke up with Nick. He apologized. She assured him there was nothing to be sorry for. She said he’d been so kind and generous and supportive of her relationship with Nick. She said he rescued her from an abysmal Thanksgiving. “So my confessing my love for you didn’t change anything,” Jack asked. Phyllis said maybe it did, but that was life. She stated that their friendship was stronger than ever, and she wanted it to stay that way.

Jack agreed with Phyllis about their friendship. She said they were good at talking things out. He thought that was because they’d been through so much. He stated that what they had was rare. Who’d think they’d be able to maintain this kind of friendship after the hell they put each other through, he asked. She admitted she put him through hell. He wasn’t trying to blame anyone. He just thought they needed to establish some firm and clear boundaries. Despite what he said about the feelings he had for her, it didn’t mean he though they should try again. In his experience, what the heart wanted and what reality could provide were different. He said he wasn’t going to try and rekindle things if it meant glossing over the pain from their past. Even if it was possible, he couldn’t afford to make that mistake again. It took a lot for him to put his heart back together, and he wasn’t going to put himself in the position to get it broken again. He couldn’t handle that.

Adam ran into Sally at Society, and he joined her. He was thinking about her run in with Billy yesterday. Sally recalled Adam telling her to stay out of his business. Adam had a change of heart. Lily happened by, and she ducked behind a corner and eavesdropped when she overheard them discussing Billy. Sally thought Adam was asking her to spy. He wasn’t asking her to be Mata Hari, but he figured that since she seemed to have some rapport with Billy, she could let Adam know if Billy did anything strange or concerning. No pressure, and this wasn’t an assignment. She said that was good because she was in fashion, not gossip. Despite his assurances that this wouldn’t negatively affect Newman Media or her career, she felt worried. He said this wasn’t corporate espionage, since Billy wasn’t involved in a corporation anymore. Sally said Adam bested Billy, so she wanted to know what was driving his continued interest. He suggested that he was genuinely concerned. He said it wasn’t his intention to push Billy over the edge. Adam stated that he wasn’t that vicious, and Lily rolled her eyes.

Sally asked if Adam was saying he suddenly had empathy for Billy. Adam said Billy had far more reason to hate him than he had to hate Billy. Sally pointed out that the last time they talked, Adam said not to feel too badly for Billy. Adam said that was a reflexive response. Adam liked to think he was more evolved, and he thought he went too far. He and his dad liked to say that this was just business, but it was impossible to deny that it was personal, maybe too personal since Billy was the father of Adam’s niece and nephew. Sally noted that Adam was expressing regret. Adam said he didn’t want this battle to get worse, and Billy could get hurt. Sally asked why Adam went after Billy so hard in the first place. Adam did it because he thought he could shut Billy down and end the war between them, at least for now. “Because I don’t think Billy could take another loss like that,” Adam said. Lily left.

Sally and Adam went back to his office. She asked what kind of information he needed her to get from Billy to quash this battle. He told her to forget he asked. He didn’t think he should drag her into this. She asked if he didn’t trust her. He felt that she was right to be wary from the beginning. He said they had no control over whether Billy was self destructing, and they shouldn’t insert themselves into it. He said that Billy had Lily and his family and friends to help him. Adam just hoped that Billy didn’t drag too many people down with him. From what Sally heard, Billy did drag people down with him, and she didn’t want to be one of them. She’d worked too hard to get her career back on track, and she thought she succeeded. He told her to focus on her job and not to let Billy’s potential stunts distract her. He said to forget they ever had this conversation, then he swiveled his chair around so he wasn’t looking at her anymore. She got up and left.

Lily went home and told Billy what she just overheard. Billy said he’d fed Sally a few tidbits for her to repeat to Adam, and she did just what he’d expected her to do. Billy said that Adam clearly wanted more information, which meant Billy’s plan was going to work. Billy thanked Lily for spying on the spy. She said she wasn’t trying to be a spy. He wasn’t asking her to – he wasn’t Adam. He asked her to put what happened today out of her mind because it wasn’t her fault. He thought that what she saw today was Adam primed for a fall, which Billy was going to hand to him. She had no problem with his plan working. She was actually concerned it’d work too well. She said this could have lasting effects on him. He knew, but he was willing to take the risk and he hoped she could trust him. She wanted to, but she thought he must understand her reservations. He did understand, but he’d tried other options, and Jill was a dead end, and Jack wouldn’t help him buy ChancComm. He felt like he was running out of time because if Adam was trying to recruit Sally, that meant that the Newmans weren’t resting on their laurels. Billy didn’t think Adam and Victor would stop until he was broken. He said he had to defend himself, and he’d do her best to keep her out of this, but he wanted to know he had her support. Lily knew she and Billy were in the right and that Victor and Adam pulled shady maneuvers to come after ChancComm and to help Ashland get away with his crimes. She just knew how dangerous Adam could be, and she didn’t know how far he’d go to hurt Billy. Lily had misgivings about Billy’s plan, but she believed in him and she loved him. He kissed her and said he couldn’t ask for anything more than that.

Esther went to Crimson Lights after Rey left. Esther was having trouble finding the perfect Christmas gifts for her grandchildren even though she lived with them and watched them while their parents were at work. Sharon felt better about herself because she was having the same problem with Rey. Sharon noted that Kevin worked at the police station. She asked Esther if he ever said anything about Rey that could point her in the right direction. The only think Esther remembered Kevin saying recently was that Rey was happy Chance made it home safe. Sharon said they all were.

Sharon mentioned that Rey was going to visit Chance today. Esther wanted to visit too, but she didn’t because Jill was in town. That was one of the things Esther didn’t miss about the Chancellor mansion. Esther remembered when Chance was a baby. She couldn’t believe he had a son of his own. When they thought Chance died, her heart broke for that little boy who’d grow up without his daddy. She was glad Chance was alright. Sharon hoped Chance wouldn’t have any lingering effects. Esther didn’t realize he was injured. Sharon heard Chance made a fully physical recovery, but she was concerned about his emotional state. So much had changed since he left – a year ago he was a newlywed, and he spent all this time away, and he was suddenly a father.

Abby and Chance relaxed at their home, while Dominic slept upstairs. He noticed she got new throw pillows. She replaced them because Dominic spit up on the old ones. He was sorry he missed out. He looked around and he saw little things that reminded him of the moments he missed, and it made him feel sad and guilty. She didn’t want him to feel that way. She assured him there were plenty of precious moments to come. Nina video called in, and they all chatted. She couldn’t wait to get back to Genoa City to see him with his son. Chance said he wasn’t going anywhere, and Nina noted that she’d heard that before. He promised he meant it this time.

Chance watched Dominic on a monitoring app, and he loved it. Rey showed up and hugged his partner, Chance. Rey passed along a message from the chief that Chance was welcome at the GCPD whenever he was ready. Everyone at the station missed Chance and couldn’t wait to see him. Abby said it was up to Chance, but she thought he needed time to recover. She wanted to spend more time with him before he joined the force. Chance added that he wanted to spend time with his new son too. Rey left, and Chance watched the baby on the phone again. He wanted to know everything about Dominic. She asked where to start, and he asked about the first day she brought Dominic home. Abby said she’d show him, and she left the room. She came back with the video journal, and she said making it helped her feel close to him. He understood because there were so many days when he could hear her voice in his head.

Chance and Abby watched an emotional video Abby recorded when she said she needed him home with her, and hated that she was going through this all alone. Abby thought they should skip this video, but Chance said he wanted to see what she was going through. In the video, Abby said she didn’t understand why she hadn’t heard from Chance in awhile.

Abby apologized because she didn’t remember what was in those videos, but Chance said she had nothing to apologize for. He was glad he saw them because he was learning how much pain he caused her. He promised to find a way to make it up to her. She leaned in for a kiss, and Dominic cried. She was going to go upstairs, but he said he’d do it because he needed to learn to do this.

Rey went back to Crimson Lights after Esther left. He told Sharon that Chance was physically recovering, but Rey wasn’t sure when Chance would come back to the force. Sharon said it could take some time. She knew the situation wasn’t the same, but she’d seen Mariah struggle with what Stitch did to her. Rey wished he could help his friend. Sharon said sometimes spending time with friends and family could do wonders. They could do that for Mariah and Chance.

Jill, Ashley and Jack arrived at the party. Nikki, Victor, Victoria and Ashland were already there, as well as Abby and the guest of honor, Chance. Victor told everyone that Chance was a true hero. Victor explained that Chance’s colleagues were killed in a safe house explosion, and they couldn’t publicly discuss this situation until the case was closed. Ashley praised Abby for never losing faith in Chance. Abby said she never would, then she kissed Chance. Jack made his way to Phyllis. He hoped everyone would find someone to look at them the way Chance and Abby looked at each other. He was in awe of his niece. Phyllis said it was a special kind of love. Jack thought about what Chance endured. Victor joined them and thanked Jack. Phyllis excused herself. Victor owed Jack for going with Ashley to search for Abby. Jack felt he’d done what anyone would. Victor asked about Chance’s injuries. Jack said that Chance was quiet on the plane ride home. He thought it might take some time for Chance to adjust to life in Genoa City.

Chance and Abby were hanging off by themselves. She went to get him some water. Nikki went over and welcomed Chance home. She could tell that he didn’t want to be there. He said he’d been staying away from crowds over the last few months. Nikki said they were all proud of Chance, and Katherine would be too. Nikki said this night was supposed to be more intimate, but Victor thought he deserved a hero’s welcome. She noted that, since he saw everyone all at once, that would mean less people would drop by his home. He felt humbled that all these people showed up and that Victor thought so highly of him. Victor walked up. Chance said thanks for the party and for what Victor did for Abby and Dominic. Victor said Chance was a Newman now. Nikki said Katherine would insist on them celebrating the good times. Victor said Abby’s faith brought Chance home, and Victor hoped he stayed for a long time. Chance promised he’d make up for the time he lost with Abby. He was already second guessing some of the decisions he’d made that took him away from her. Victor said it was over, and Chance could leave all that behind.

Abby was with Victoria and Ashland. She was sorry she missed the wedding. Ashland knew what it was like to have a newborn. Victoria added that Abby had been a single parent. Abby said Dominic’s father was back, and she was going to cherish every moment with him. Abby called Chance over, and he met Ashland. Ashland praised Chance for his remarkable and rare sense of honor and duty, and he joked that he was just talking about Chance having the gall to marry a Newman. Things turned serious, and Victoria said Chance really was an inspiration to them all.

Victor made a speech about Chance, Dominic and Abby. He called Chance a hero. Chance seemed on edge, and he went into the vestibule and did some deep breathing. Devon arrived and asked if Chance was okay. Chance explained that he just wasn’t used to the adulation. He felt like Devon was the one who should be commended. Devon said he didn’t do anything. Chance said Devon created his son, rescued Mariah and he took care of Dominic while Abby was searching for Chance. Devon said it took a village. Chance was glad he wasn’t the only one uncomfortable with the hero label. Devon didn’t think he was a hero. He also didn’t think Chance should downplay the lengths he went to to protect people. Chance said he should’ve been protecting his wife and son.

Back inside, Victor wished Jill the best in her retirement. She said she’d be as retired as he was, because she was staying on in an advisory capacity. He thought it was interesting that she nominated Lily as her successor. Jill said that Lily wasn’t the first person to run a company without going to business school. Jill and Victor did it. Victor thought Katherine would be proud of how Jill honored her legacy. Jill asked if Katherine would be proud of Victor for selling Chancellor to Jill years ago. He thought so. He told her to keep Billy away from the reins of the company if she wanted it to prosper. “Lucky me. You approve,” Jill coolly said. They clinked glasses, and Victoria watched them interacting from afar.

Chance and Devon went in. Chance thought it was a shame Mariah couldn’t make it. He owed her so much. Abby asked about Amanda, and Devon said she was with her sister. Chance realized he’d missed a lot, and Devon said he’d have to catch him up. Devon said Amanda and Imani were negotiating a lease on a space for their law practice. Abby said she’d love to thank Amanda for playing such a big part in Dominic’s little world.

Victoria approached Jill and said Newman/Locke would pay whatever it took to buy ChancComm, and selling to them would help Chancellor save face. She said ChancComm had many outlets that were Newman property, so it’d show the public that this was more about balancing the scales than a failure on Chancellor’s part. She added that it’d be beneficial to Billy not to lose to Adam again. Jill thought it was fascinating that Victoria was focused on helping Billy when she was part of the plan to bring him down.

Later, Nikki asked Victoria if she’d heard from her brother. Victoria didn’t think Nick was coming.

Ashley asked Phyllis if she enjoyed the long-distance Thanksgiving feast with Jack. Phyllis liked it. It was a nice distraction. Phyllis said she had a dream, and Ashley was in it. Ashley wanted to know how big a role her brother had in the dream. Phyllis said he was in it, but they weren’t together, and there were worse fates for Jack than her.

Ashland asked Victoria what she learned on her reconnaissance mission. She said she learned that Jill loved the game as much as Victor. That meant Victoria and Ashland would have to up their game.

Chance thanked everyone for coming and his in-laws for putting this together. He felt blessed to come home to Abby and his baby. He recognized the team that laid down their lives, who weren’t just colleagues; they were family. Everyone raised a glass. Chance had spent more time away from Genoa City than in it, but he was glad he got to call this place home. Now he was husband to the most loving woman he’d ever met and father to the most adorable baby in the world. He promised he’d never go anywhere without them again. Once his speech was finished, he quietly asked Abby if they could leave. Abby told Victor, Ashley and Nikki that she and Chance needed to get home to Dominic. Everyone said their goodbyes.

Sharon wondered why Nick was at Crimson Lights instead of at Chance’s party. Nick didn’t want to ruin the celebration with his presence. She said he missed Victoria’s wedding, and he couldn’t miss Abby’s celebration too. He didn’t want to put Chance through any more of the Newman family drama. He told her that Ashland summoned him and basically demanded that Nick tell him all the reasons he didn’t like and trust him. Nick did so, and Victoria walked in. Victoria was the one to tell him Chance was alive, which was just further proof he was out of the loop in the family. Sharon had assumed Nick just didn’t run into Phyllis. Nick said he and Phyllis had kept things civil, but tonight, things could blow up, and he didn’t want a champagne bucket of ice dumped on his head. Sharon didn’t think Nick should let a little bad blood stop him from welcoming Chance home. She told him to go show Abby he was the great big brother she knew and loved.

Nick still didn’t want to go, and Sharon asked what was really bothering him. He asked if she thought he was pushing people away. She assumed Phyllis said that. He clarified that Victoria said it. Sharon thought Victoria was just being a sibling pushing her brother’s buttons. Nick asked if Victoria could be right. Sharon said Victoria was wrong, because Sharon was still Nick’s friend and she wasn’t going anywhere. She said he was a good man, and the problem was he expected other people to be as good. She said that if he was looking for someone to blame for his relationships being in a tangle, she could point him in the right direction, but sometimes nobody was at fault, and things just didn’t work out.

Mariah was going to come in, but she changed her mind when she saw Nick and Sharon having a talk. Sharon saw her and called her back in. Nick left. Sharon asked why Mariah wasn’t at Chance’s party. Mariah had spent the last two hours trying to talk herself into going. Mariah couldn’t be happier Chance was alive, but the party was for close family. Sharon said Mariah was family. Mariah said she just carried the baby. She thought it would be weird if she went to the party. She wasn’t sure he knew how attached she got to his baby. Sharon knew it might be awkward at first, but once they got past that, it could be a positive experience. Sharon said she just tried to convince Nick to go to the same party. Mariah didn’t think it felt right for her to go. She said this should be Chance’s moment to shine, and she didn’t want anything to take away from that, so it’d be best if she sat this one out.

Nick went to the party, and Devon said that Abby and Chance were already gone. Nick thought it must be nice for Devon not to have to rush home to a baby. Devon said it was quieter, then he excused himself and left the party. Nikki joined Nick and asked him to stay. He saw Phyllis from behind and Jack walking up to her. Nick said he had some things to do, and he left.

Jack told Phyllis that it was good seeing her tonight. He liked the party, and he thought she had a way of making things special. She was disappointed he was leaving already instead of having a drink with her. He thought it was a great invitation, but he had to pass because he was jet lagged. He wished her sweet dreams, then he left.

Ashley told Victor and Nikki that she was worried about Chance. Victor agreed. He thought Chance seemed psychologically fragile.

Chance and Abby were home, and she wondered if she was hovering too much. He said no. He assured her he had a great time at the party. He thought Ashland was a character. She was happy Victoria found her perfect match. He’d hoped to see Nick. Abby thought he skipped the party because he broke up with Phyllis. Chance said that was too bad, and Abby said not everyone was as lucky as they were. He was glad to be home. He promised he’d never put her through hell like that again – nothing was more important than being her husband and Dom’s father.

Chance spent time alone with Dominic and said no one would ever love him the way Chance and Abby did. Chance confided that he loved Dominic a little bit more because the baby made him a dad. Chance said it wasn’t a miracle that he survived – Dominic was the miracle. The voices of people calling Chance a hero and showering him in praise echoed in his head, and he looked shaken.

Victoria and Victor ran into each other at Crimson Lights. He said they needed to talk, but she didn’t think this was the time or the place to discuss ChancComm. He explained that this wasn’t about business. He confided that Abby found Chance, and Victoria was shocked and happy. Victor invited Victoria to the welcome home party tonight at The Grand Phoenix. Victoria said, before she and Ashland accepted the invite, she and Victor should discuss the ChancComm situation.

The only reason that Victor would be upset with Victoria is if he found out she was trying to buy ChancComm to protect Billy. She assured him that wasn’t her motivation. It was purely business. He said it was a mistake for her to sell that division. In retrospect, she agreed, and that was why she proposed to Ashland that they get it back. Victor was pleased to hear that it was Victoria’s idea. Victoria said Ashland was 100% behind her. She knew that Victor wasn’t happy about Ashland’s involvement. Victoria added that Adam wasn’t happy either, and he’d called Ashland’s involvement a betrayal of Newman Media. Victor said that Adam didn’t like to be bested. “None of us Newmans do. Must be something in the genes,” Victoria said. Victor said that was very true. He was happy that Ashland was part of humiliating Billy and making him resign. Beyond that, Victor didn’t care about ChancComm. It was another piece on the chessboard. He said that Victoria and Adam were vying for the prize, and may the best competitor win. Victoria wondered if Victor was going to try and tip the scales, and he said no, because ChancComm meant nothing to him. He loved his family, and he was very proud of Victoria. He had to go see Nikki, so he said goodbye and left.

Nick arrived at Victoria’s office, thinking that Victoria and Ashland wanted to meet with him. Ashland clarified that he was the only one there. He’d called Nick because they hadn’t had a chance to speak in private since Tuscany. Victoria told Ashland that she and Nick had a heart to heart over his breakup with Phyllis. Ashland was sorry that didn’t work out. Nick was not interested in discussing that with Ashland. Ashland said it was clear that Victoria and Nick hadn’t completely mended fences. Nick said that was none of Ashland’s business. Ashland countered that Victoria was his wife. Nick said that this was a family matter, and Ashland stated that he was family now. Ashland asked if Nick still regretted that Victoria and Ashland got married.

Ashland said Victoria was happy, but he knew how much family meant to her, so he wanted to put an end to the tension between him and Nick. Nick didn’t think that was going to happen. Ashland said Victoria forgave him. Nick thought that was insane. “You let your best friend die. And then you stole his identity and then you robbed your mentor of her fortune,” Nick said. Nick knew Ashland filed a lawsuit against ChancComm, but he knew everything in that article was true. Nick also knew that Ashland never would’ve told Victoria the truth if Nick didn’t pursue this. Nick said he’d never forget what Ashland did, and he’d never think it was okay. He thought that Ashland was an opportunist with no moral standards. Nick assumed the rest of the family was giving Ashland a pass because he was sick. “If I were to find out tomorrow that that you were no longer dying, I’d have to wonder if you were ever sick in the first place,” Nick snapped. Ashland appreciated Nick’s honesty. Nick was trying to stay out of Victoria’s business, but if he found out Ashland hurt or took advantage of Victoria, Ashland would have an enemy in Nick for life. Victoria walked in and heard Nick’s last statement.

Victoria stood by Ashland and demanded to know why Nick threatened her husband and broke his promise to stay out of her personal life. Nick said he’d been honest at Ashland’s request. Ashland admitted that was true. Victoria thought that Nick should give Ashland a chance to prove he’d changed. She said that Ashland was worthy of her love and trust. She couldn’t deal with this now, because she had other things on her mind. She informed Nick that Chance was alive and home with Abby, and Nikki and Victor were throwing a party tonight at the The Grand Phoenix. Nick was put out because nobody told him about all this. Victoria said she only knew because she ran into Victor at Crimson Lights earlier. She was sure no one was personally slighting Nick. He didn’t want to think about Victor. Victoria was sorry things disintegrated between Victor and Nick, but she thought Nick had a pattern of blaming others for what was happening in his life. She felt like Nick was alienating people and that he always felt like he was right and that everyone else was in the wrong. She suggested he ask himself if he was doing something that was at the root of all this. He said he’d see her at the party and he left.

Ashland thought Victoria was being a little too hard on her brother. He said that he thought Nick wanted to work things out, which was why he invited him over for a talk. Victoria was kind of stunned Ashland was coming to Nick’s defense after the way Nick treated him. Ashland admitted Nick wasn’t wrong about the things Ashland did. Ashland was more impressed with the special love Victoria and Nick had for each other. “Who knew that one of your first duties as a Newman would be to play family peacemaker,” Victoria said. Ashland found it kind of refreshing after going into battle all these years. Maybe death had changed his perspective. Victoria didn’t want to talk about that – only positive thoughts during this new treatment. She asked if he was up for a night with her family. He said that if she wanted to go, so did he, because he wanted to be wherever she was.

Chance was at home. He looked through is box of mementos and pulled out a medal. Abby and Dominic came in, and she asked if Chance was okay. He said he was exactly where he wanted to be – home. They admired their baby and said he was perfect. He was sorry he wasn’t there to protect Mariah and the baby from Stitch. Abby didn’t want Chance to blame himself. That was the past. She told him that Victor was setting up a welcome home party. Chance wasn’t sure he was ready to face a group. Abby said she’d cancel, but Chance changed his mind and said he wanted to see everyone. The baby was in the bassinet, and Chance said he wanted to be with Abby. They set up the baby monitor, then they rushed up the stairs.

Later, Chance wanted to learn how to care for Dominic, so he held him. Abby admitted that, before this moment, Devon had been the only one to get Dominic to calm down without feeding him. She said Chance had the magic touch. Chance was glad Devon had been there for Abby and Dominic. Abby said that Devon had been the best friend that anyone could ask for. They prepared for the party, and he said as long as he had her by his side, he thought he could face everything.

Nikki and Phyllis were at the hotel. Nikki and Victor had set up a little cocktail party for Chance, and Nikki thanked Phyllis for helping her. Adam walked up and said Victor missed their meeting and wasn’t returning Adam’s calls. Phyllis assumed this had something to do with the bidding for ChancComm. Nikki said that Victor had just been dealing with more important things, like letting the family know about Chance’s return. Adam didn’t realize Chance was alive and back. Nikki was sorry – she’d mentioned it so casually because she thought Adam knew. She invited him to the get together tonight, but he said he and Connor already had plans. Noah showed up, because he was supposed to meet Victor there. Nikki said that Victor was running a little late. Adam admitted that he was the one who had Victor reach out to Noah, reasoning that Noah would be more likely to respond to Victor than to Adam. Noah admitted that Adam was right. Adam invited Noah to the office to talk, and Noah warily agreed to go. Phyllis warned Nikki that it wouldn’t be good for Adam to have an influence over Noah.

Nick agreed with Phyllis about Noah and Adam. Nikki had been worried about her grandson, who’d been out of sorts since he came home. Phyllis said that made him ripe for the picking for Adam to take him under his wing. Nikki didn’t think that Noah was ready to embrace the new and improved Adam. Nikki said that Adam worked with Newman Media on a project, and he didn’t appreciate being micromanaged over his own designs. Phyllis didn’t understand why Noah left London when it seemed that his career was taking off. Nikki said that careers weren’t always the most important things in life. Phyllis thought that was an insinuation that she and Nick broke up because she was too into her hotel. Nikki said to calm down, because not everything was about Phyllis. Nikki wasn’t thrilled that Nick and Phyllis got back together, and she didn’t have high hopes that the pairing would last, but she hated that her son was hurting over the breakup. Phyllis said it was a difficult decision for both of them to make. Nikki noted that Phyllis seemed to be doing just fine. Phyllis told Nikki not to pretend she knew what was going on in Phyllis’s head. Nikki didn’t mean to offend. Phyllis said it was difficult to judge a relationship from the outside. Phyllis groaned when Victor walked in, and she made up an excuse to leave.

Nikki and Victor talked about his conversation with Victoria and Nikki’s conversation with Adam. Victor said he was stepping back and letting Victoria and Adam work out their issues. Victor got the feeling that things would get heated once his children started fighting for ChancComm. The glint in Victor’s eye made Nikki think that he was looking forward to that, but he denied it. Nikki was surprised Victor wanted to have the party here so soon after Nick and Phyllis’s split. She asked if he chose this venue because he hoped Nick wouldn’t attend and create conflict for Victoria and Ashland. Victor hoped Nick would be able to put aside his differences and show up. He said this night was about Abby and Chance, who were home and safe, and everything else was secondary. They kissed.

Victor told Nikki that Jill would be here after her business meeting, and she was giving Ashley a ride. Victoria and Ashland arrived, and she said she told Nick, but she wasn’t sure he’d come. Nikki hoped everyone would be able to set aside their differences for this very important occasion. Chance and Abby arrived and everyone clapped.

At Newman Media, Adam tried to get Noah to take on more branding projects. Noah politely declined because he didn’t really like working for big companies, and he wanted to use his time to reassess. Adam respected that, but he said this could be a way for Noah to stay busy and forget whatever drove him away from London. Noah said he’d consider it. Noah admitted he was having a hard time buying Adam’s new attitude. Adam understood, since he and Noah had a rough history, and there was no reason Noah should welcome Adam back into his life with open arms. Noah could see that something had changed with Adam, but that didn’t mean he appreciated all the notes Adam gave him on his designs. Adam suggested that the lesson was not to write anyone off, because everyone could surprise you.

At Society, Billy appreciated Sally’s offer of company, but he wanted to be alone. She decided to sit with him while she waited for her takeout, and he told her she was being a little pushy. “The truth is I don’t want your company,” he said. He didn’t trust her because of her connection to Adam. She said it wasn’t a good look to drink alone before happy hour. He didn’t concerned about how he looked. She said she’d sit with him, and they didn’t have to talk, but it’d make him look a little less pathetic. Sally said she and Adam weren’t as close as people believed. Billy listed all the times he’d seen Adam and Sally together, and he said he knew for a fact that they’d dated. Sally told him not to believe everything he read in the tabloids, especially his own. One thing Billy learned from running a media company was that most of the rumors were true. Sally said Adam was her boss, and there was nothing romantic going on between them. He thought that was good, because no one was more capable of tearing out your soul than Adam. Sally asked Billy if he was really going to be okay.

Sally ordered Billy a coffee, and she told him that in her experience, when you felt down, it was better to caffeinate than to numb the pain. She’d been a pariah, and she knew the pain when when everything boomeranged back on you. He thought he’d taken pariah status to new heights, and he’d even lost the trust of his most stalwart believer – his mom. She asked how. “Wouldn’t your platonic boss love to hear about it?,” he replied. She just recognized the feelings he was having, and they weren’t fun. He said this was actually kind of comforting. The rabbit hole was familiar to him and it kind of felt like home. She knew he was better than that. He asked how she would know. From their limited encounters, she knew he was usually acting to protect someone, so she understood the feeling of doing the wrong things for the right reason. She believed he had a good heart. Her takeout arrived, and she offered to stay and eat it with him. He turned her down. She left. “That’s it Sally. You run back to Adam and tell him all about my pathetic state. Please,” Billy said.

Sally walked into Adam’s office and stopped short when she saw Noah. She reintroduced herself, noting that they met in Tuscany. He recalled the splash she made with his aunt’s wedding dress. Adam mentioned that he was trying to take advantage of having a famous artist in the family by convincing Noah to do some work for them. Sally thought that would be amazing, because she loved Noah’s aesthetic. She had an idea of something he could do for Newman Fashion. Noah wasn’t looking for work. Sally thought she could get Noah to see why they’d be a great sell. Noah said he’d consider it, and he left.

Adam told Sally she came on a little strong, and she said most of the time, it worked. She asked if he had a problem with her approach, and he said no. She mentioned that she just ran into Billy. He thought he told her to stay out of his business with Billy. She said it was an accidental encounter. She knew he’d wanted to hit Billy where it hurt, but she asked if he’d intended to cause psychological damage. He scoffed about Billy being the victim, but he said he didn’t intend to give Billy a nervous breakdown. She said that Billy was drinking and seemed depressed, and he’d said something about going down a rabbit hole, like he’d done this in the past. Adam asked why Billy would say all that to Sally. Sally didn’t know if Billy was looking for sympathy, but she sort of felt for the guy. Adam thought that was interesting.

Adam didn’t think Sally should feel bad for Billy. Chelsea called, and Adam asked if he could call her back later, because he was in a meeting with Sally. Chelsea was irritated that Adam wasn’t making time for this conversation about Connor. She ended the video call. Adam told Sally that Chelsea hung up on him. Sally suggested Adam call Chelsea back, and he asked if he and Sally could talk later. She said yeah, and she left.

Billy went home, and Lily was hard at work familiarizing herself with all the Chancellor files that Jill’s assistant sent over. Lily felt like she’d barely made a dent in the task, because this was a huge conglomerate. She felt overwhelmed. She didn’t have the experience for this, and the press would be all over her credentials. She was worried this would hurt Chancellor and reflect poorly on Jill. Lily wondered if she made a huge mistake. He gave her a pep talk. He said she was going to kill this role, and she was the most important and successful thing to come out of ChancComm. He said running a company like this was all about positive public perception. She asked if he was flattering her because he loved her. He said she earned this, and she was the hardest working entrepreneurial person he knew. He stated that she made him a better man in business and in a relationship, and she was going to be great. He couldn’t be more happy or more proud of her.

Lily loved Billy’s support, but it made her want him by her side even more at Chancellor. He said they’d be a great team in their relationship, but she’d be the boss at Chancellor, and he’d be fine. She asked if he’d dropped the plan. He said he’d laid a little bit of groundwork for it. Right now he wanted to focus on Lily. He wanted to focus on her now and take advantage of this time they had together because she was about to be a very busy woman. They kissed.

Victoria and Victor talked about ChancComm. He was pleased that she was going to try and buy it, but he wasn’t taking sides in Victoria and Adam’s competition to acquire120 ChancComm. Ashland set up a meeting with Nick because he hoped to clear the air. Nick made it clear that he’d never be okay with what Ashland did in the past. Victoria wasn’t pleased when she heard Nick warning Ashland not to hurt her. Victoria suggested that Nick had a habit of blaming other people for his problems. Ashland thought Victoria was being too hard on Nick. Chance spent time reconnecting with Abby and bonding with Dominic. Nikki and Victor arranged a cocktail party for Chance at The Grand Phoenix. Nikki told Adam that Chance was alive. Adam offered Noah a job. Phyllis warned Nikki that it wouldn’t be good if Adam took Noah under his wing. Nikki never expected Phyllis and Nick to last, but she was sorry that the breakup hurt her son. Nikki thought Phyllis was doing just fine after the breakup. Phyllis bristled over the statement, and Nikki said she didn’t mean to offend.

Sally found Billy drinking alone and kept him company. He gave her the impression that he was in a very bad place. She left, and he hoped that she’d run to Adam and tell him everything Billy just said. Sally found Adam with Noah. She and Adam tried to convince Noah to do some work for Newman Media. Noah wasn’t interested, but he said he’d consider it. Sally told Adam that Billy was drinking and depressed. Sally felt kind of bad for him. Chelsea called Adam, and she didn’t take it well when he asked if they could talk later. Sally left so Adam could call Chelsea back. Lily worried that she wasn’t up for running Chancellor, and Billy gave her a pep talk. She asked him again to come to Chancellor with her, but he declined. He told her he’d laid a bit of groundwork for his plan.

He saw Xander and Gwen and thought he found the one who helped her escape. Chloe told Brady that he was hit in the head. Brady was slurring when he was talking. Rafe approached Xander and Gwen to find out about Kristen. He wanted to talk to him about Kristen’s escape. Gabi and Jake tried to pitch running Titan. Victor reminded them that his business is ran by his family. Gabi told him that his relatives didn’t want to run the business. He said Brady was someone who could run it. Chloe wanted to know if Brady saw Philip. Brady struggled to tell her about him. Chloe called for help for Philip.

Gwen talked to Ava about Xander going with Rafe. She was afraid he was going to get in trouble for something he didn’t do. Rafe questioned Xander about helping Kristen. Xander denied helping her. Rafe didn’t believe him. Rafe thought he helped break Kristen out of jail. Kayla checked Brady out and said that he didn’t have any signs of being hit. Gabi and Jake continued to convince Victor to let them run Titan. He reminded them about adding the spyware to his computer. He said he wouldn’t hire them because of that. Kayla questioned Chloe about Brady’s condition. She told her what she knew about Brady. Kayla said the blood that was on Brady wasn’t his. She wanted to know how Chloe found him. She told her that she was looking for Philip, but he wasn’t there. Kayla wondered if it was Philip’s blood. She said that it crossed her mind that it could be his blood. She wanted to find him so she called him. Philip’s phone was in Brady’s pocket. Kayla wanted to know what Brady was doing with Philip’s phone. Kayla got the results and told Chloe that the blood wasn’t Brady’s. Chloe knew it was Philip’s blood type.

Paulina ran into Abe at the hospital. She asked if he was there to see John. She said she saw John. Abe said he was there to see him. He wondered why she went to see John. She said she danced with the devil and lived to tell about it. Paulina told Abe that Marlena was possessed. She said the wedding falling apart was because of the devil. Abe agreed with her. He said lies came from the devil. He said the lie came from her. He walked away from her. She went after him. Abe told Paulina to stop apologizing. She tried to tell him how tough her situation was. She begged him to forgive her. She brought up Lexie and how she couldn’t compete with her. She said Lani’s father made her feel alone and trapped. She said she was proud she fought her way out and gave Lani the best life she could. He said he was done with her. She wanted him to promise her he wouldn’t turn his back on Lani. Abe told Paulina that he let Lani know he wasn’t turning his back on her. Paulina asked him about them. He said he couldn’t turn his love off for her. He said he loved her. He said that didn’t mean he would trust her. He said the lie was too big to risk his heart with her again. Lani got off the phone with Tamara when Eli came home. Lani said Tamara said she loved her. She said that meant her whole life was a lie she spread to Abe. She said she spoke to Abe and he told her he would always love her. Eli said she should believe him. She said Kristen told her the same thing. Eli was shocked that Lani spoke to Kristen. He said Kristen never made it to the prison. He said the van transporting her disappeared. Lani said she had nothing to do with it. She said she might know where Kristen was. They went to John and Marlena’s place.

John tried to get himself out of the hospital so he could find Marlena. Steve stopped him and told him the police were working on it. John wanted to know how he knew where he was. Steve said Johnny told him. Steve said he put the pieces together since he went through it once before. Steve asked if he exorcised Marlena. John thought it might not have worked since he wasn’t a real priest. Steve asked John if he knew what the devil wanted. John said he didn’t know. He thought it was a sideshow for the main attraction. He said they needed to stop her before that happened. Steve asked how did he stop it before. John said faith, hope and prayer. He said he had Father Francis and Gabriel’s help. He said he gave him the strength he needed. Marlena asked Ben and Ciara not to answer the door. It turned out to be a hiker. The man asked for water. He said religious things. He said he came out there for a spiritual reunion. He said his name was Gabriel. Marlena wasn’t happy. Gabriel confronted Marlena. She said she knew who he was and what he wanted. She asked if he sent him. Marlena’s eyes and voice didn’t bother Gabriel. Gabriel said he helped John beat her 25 years ago. He said he would do it again. Marlena told Gabriel he couldn’t interfere in human affairs. Gabriel said God wouldn’t let anything happen to Ben and Ciara’s child. Gabriel and Marlena continued to argue with each other. He said Ben and Ciara had a lot of strength.

Chloe told Philip that she knew he was fired. She wanted to know why he didn’t tell her. She said they are supposed to be a couple. She said they are supposed to tell each other good and bad things. He thought about her talking to Brady about having sex. He asked if she told him everything. She said he never let her in or made it easy for her to open up. Philip apologized for being in a funk. She wanted to go out, but he wasn’t interested. She suggested she go out to bring him something to eat. When she left, he thought she was going to have sex with Brady. Victor read about John and Susan being in the crypt. Maggie told him Marlena was possessed. She said Marlena was the one who did that to John and Susan. She said she was meeting with Brady when Belle called him to tell him. Victor was worried about Brady. She said he didn’t drink, but he was tempted. Victor blamed Chloe. Maggie told Victor it was his meddling that caused the strain between Brady and Philip. Philip was listening when Victor asked Maggie if Brady had feelings for Chloe. Philip heard Maggie say Brady thought he and Chloe could be happy if Philip weren’t in the way. Maggie said Brady wouldn’t hurt anyone. Victor said jealousy could push Brady in a bad place. Ben and Ciara brought Marlena to the cabin. Ben said Marlena would be safe there. Marlena noticed Ciara staring at her. Marlena asked if everything was okay. Ciara said she was having a hard time believing John was a monster. She said it was as if someone else was in the apartment.

Marlena understood Ciara’s confusion. Marlena said her husband was dangerous. Ciara said they should call the police and tell them what was going on. Marlena didn’t want to do that. She said the police would protect John. Ciara thought Shawn would do the right thing. Marlena took the phone from Ciara. Marlena apologized and said she was on edge. She gave Ciara back her phone when Ben said they wouldn’t call anyone. Ciara was skeptical, but she agreed not to say anything. Ciara was concerned about being far away from Salem if something happened to the baby. Marlena said she was a doctor and would take care of the baby. When Marlena stepped out, Ciara told Ben she didn’t like what was going on. She said she wanted to call Belle and Shawn so they would know what was going on with John. She said something was off. Lani told Abe she had trouble facing him. She believed it was her fault for jumped to the wrong conclusion about him being her father. She thought he wished she never came to town. He said finding out she wss his daughter was the best thing that happened to him. Tamara tried to call Lani, but she didn’t answer it. Lani couldn’t believe Tamara and Paulina let her bond with him and Theo. Abe said their bond was real. He told her about what happened between John and Roman. He said she would always be his daughter.

Willow: Michael’s going to be heartbroken. And this all happened while we were gone? Maybe I should go back in and be with him. Look, before you go, um… there’s something that you should know. I gave her a quick bath. She’s all set and ready for daddy. “Daddy”? It’s too early to make any definitive diagnosis. But rest assured, the staff and I are committed to doing all we can to ensure the baby and his parents are well taken care of. I appreciate that. Can — can I say something? [ Elevator bell dings ] Carly, I’ll bet it felt really good to slap peter, but hasn’t he caused enough destruction? I mean, is he worth you getting into trouble? You can drop the concerned act. What the hell was peter talking about? What else did you pull in nixon falls? I’m sorry. That was really uncalled for. Uh, when you’re talking about a-another woman over you, you’re talking about carly. Is that right? Can we just forget it? It’s been a rough couple of days. No, I’m not gonna forget it, ’cause I just need you to — to understand something.

[ Sighs ] When I came back, right… …it was hard for me to accept jason and carly together. But they have a certain… relationship. Everybody knew. It was hard for me to understand. But what I do know is jason married carly to protect the family, and — and I’ll always be grateful for that. We didn’t leave him much of a choice. Thank you for saying that. Truthfully [Chuckles] I think it’s easier for me to be bitter than to accept the fact that I may never see jason again. You know what? [ Laughs ] Wow. I wouldn’t have expected sonny corinthos to be in the consolation business. Well, you know, there’s a few people who — who have said that I’ve undergone some kind of…change. Mm. Willow: Wrong guy. Mr. Cassadine is bailey’s father. But I thought that… you know what? Thank you, bonnie. We’ll call you if we need you. What just happened? Why didn’t you guys correct her? We can only go off what the authorities in greece told us. The excavators detected no sign of life in that tunnel. I mean, jason’s chances of survival from the cave-in alone, they were very slim. But the odds that he would actually be able to find oxygen underneath all that rubble… yeah, but there was — they didn’t find a body, right? I know it sounds bleak, but if anybody can defy the odds, it’s jason. I am not ruling anything out until we get the final word, believe me. But still, I’m mentally preparing myself. Look, I’m sorry. I know y-you’ve probably had to tell the story a dozen times and it’s hell reliving it over and over again. No. I’m here to tell it because of jason. And I-I-I hate being the bearer of such bad news. I-I know the strong bond that you two had. It’s kind of ironic, too. At the end, jason and I, we started to bond, we started to work together, and I just… I found myself admiring him even more. I got to call my dad.

[ Sighs ] You know, it’s weird. I-I’ve finally gotten past the impulse to call my father. And now I can because he’s back, and this is a call I would never want to make in a million years. No one has seen or heard from hayden, not even her own sister or her daughter. And most recently, her mother was murdered. You were in trouble, nikolas. Hayden needed to be dealt with, along with others close to her who could implicate us. Even your cousin samantha came perilously close to uncovering the truth. I didn’t ask for any of that. Well, with family, you don’t have to ask. Are you saying you commissioned crimes in the service of my husband, unsolicited? I’m saying, my dear, that I protected him. And you and, for that matter, wyndemere. What have you done to hayden? Word of advice — don’t ask questions you don’t really want the answers to. Sonny: The job must be a lot easier now that you don’t have cyrus lurking around. Yeah, it’s nice not to worry about men hiding in my office, trying to kill me.

[ Laughs ] And I heard that, uh, jason saved you when — when he escaped and that you’ve been trying to nail cyrus. And I also heard that… you saved jason the night that he got shot, and I want to tell you how much I appreciate that. Yeah. I wish I could have saved him on cassadine island. Yeah. So do I. But, you know, you didn’t get a chance, but I know you would have done everything you could. So, where you headed? Uh, my office, I guess. All right. Uh, I’ll — I’ll walk with you. ‘Cause you never know if there’s, like, a bogeyman or whatever.

[ Laughs ] Wait, carly. Carly! I’m telling you, this is what peter does. He agitates. He tries to sow discord. Anything to deflect from his own crimes. What would peter have to gain by lying about you? Well, I can’t fathom what’s inside peter’s head, and I don’t want to, but if I were to guess, it’s probably just simple revenge. You know, I foiled his plan to find his daughter. I tried to get aunt liesl to kill him, and I survived when he tried to kill me in that fire. He hates me. This is what I don’t understand. Why would you call liesl obrecht instead of the cops when you first saw peter in nixon falls? Why? Because he threatened james. He said that if he couldn’t find his own daughter, then james would be an adequate substitute. He always loved the idea of raising my brother’s son. That’s terrible. Yeah. But that’s not all, is it? Is it? He blackmailed me. He used threats and pain to buy my silence. What does peter have on you?

I’m not proud about this, but peter knew that I was hiding sonny from all of you, and he threatened to reveal that sonny was alive if I didn’t comply. Is that it? Sonny: What’s going on? Is it? What’s going on here? Huh? I just ran into peter august, and that sick son of a bitch was gloating about — peter — peter’s in G.H.? He’s in custody. No thanks to you! You were so hell-bent on revenge against me, you let peter go free to commit crime after crime after crime. Hey, hey. It’s all right, carly. It’s not okay. Jack: Well, you exercised my brain. Now I have to take care of the rest of my body.

Sally: I have zero hope and zero interest in rekindling things with Jack, and I’ve accepted that it’s never gonna happen. But it infuriates me that I am considered a pariah in this town and treated like a total villain while Phyllis, somehow, is the wicked witch with a heart of gold. That woman hurt Jack far worse than I ever did, and now, i mean, look at him. He’s still pining after her and trying — not so subtly, in my opinion — to steal her away from Nick.

Chloe: Okay, well, it’s a bit of a leap. Phyllis and Jack have remained close friends over the years.

Sally: Yeah, that’s my point. How? I mean, why does Jack give Phyllis a free pass when he acts like i don’t deserve a smidge of forgiveness?

Chloe: It’s a mistake to think that you’re entitled to forgiveness when you’ve wronged people. It’s earned. It takes time.

Abby: [ Chuckles ] Yeah, I’m exhausted, but I am too excited to sleep. Thank you so much for calling me back, Kim. And when you said that Chance was alive and here in Majorca, it was the most alive I have felt in weeks. Have you
seen him?

Kim: Yes.

Abby: On the phone, you said that he was in a bad way. What does that mean? Can he talk? Is he unconscious?

Kim: Abby, dear, breathe.

Abby: Okay. [ Chuckles ] I’m sorry, I’m just excited. That’s how I get when I’m excited.

Kim: Yes, I know. Chance told me.

Abby: So, he can speak.

Kim: Yes. You’ll be able to converse with him, I imagine.

Abby: When? I mean, I have to see him as soon as possible. I’m sorry, I will be calmer.

Kim: We’ve been here in Majorca so long, I’m not accustomed to that American energy

Devon: Dude, I didn’t think any human could eat that much.

Nate: [ Laughs ] So what about you? How many sweet potatoes did you consume?

Devon: Sweet potatoes? I don’t keep count, man. I just like them. I had some more, though, at the Newmans’.

Nate: Are you kidding me?

Devon: Nah, man. I’m not gonna be rude and reject their hospitality.

Nate: So that’s what you all did after dinner, you went to another dinner.

Devon: Well, yeah, no, Amanda went to go see her mom and her sister, so I brought Dominic to see his grandparents.

Nate: Okay, that’s thoughtful. Well, Elena and I, we couldn’t move. Total food coma.

Devon: Oh, yeah?

Nate: I was in bed by 8:00.

Devon: Wow. I’m sure that was probably nice, though. You know, you haven’t been getting a lot of sleep these day
as chief of surgery, I bet.

Phyllis has a weird Thanksgiving dream in which Gloria promises to guide her to a nappy Thanksgiving. The first place Gloria takes Phyllis is to Crimson Lights where Phyllis helps feed the homeless and those who don’t have family with which to spend Thanksgiving. Gloria then takes Phyllis to the Newman ranch where Victor, Nikki, and Nick thank her for advising Nick to stay out of the Newman family drama. Nick tells Phyllis that ever since he followed her advice the Newman family is very happy. Gloria then takes Phyllis to Society where she talks to Billy who tells Phyllis that she deserves love and that she and Jack belong together. Phyllis awakens when a room service waiter brings her a Thanksgiving dinner that someone ordered for her. Jack calls a few minutes later from the Jabot jet which has just landed in Spain. Jack explains that he brought his Thanksgiving dinner on the plane from home and he ordered one for her so that they could have dinner together. Phyllis is touched that Jack would go to all this trouble so that she wouldn’t be alone for Thanksgiving.

Sutton is fond guilty of killing Amanda and Hillary’s father. Amanda is happy that her mother is thinking of moving to Genoa City. Ashland and Victoria offer to buy Chancellor Communications and let Lily run the company. Lily is still upset that Billy went to Victor and offered to step down from Chancellor Communications. Lily tells Billy that this situation doesn’t effect their personal relationship. Victoria decides to send Johnny and Katie to boarding school until the end of the school year so they will be protected when Billy resigns from Chancellor Communications. Lily calls Jill so she can decide to whom she wants to sell the company.

Abby charters a flight to Majorca, Spain to go get Chance. Abby tells the pilot she will pay well for him not to tell anyone where she is going on the plane.

Devon tells Ashley and Victor that he thinks Abby went to Valencia, Spain to look for Chance because she can’t accept his death. Ashley and Jack head to Valencia, Spain to look for Abby.

Lauren and Ashley advise Phyllis and Jack not to get back together because they will only hurt each other again. Victor agrees to consider Billy’s offer of him resigning from Chancellor Communications and taking the blame for the story if he lets Lily run the company alone. Lily gets angry with Billy because of the offer he made to Victor because now she has to fight to save Chancellor Communications alone.

Rey arrives to talk to Billy and Lily and tell them he is launching an investigation into the charge of blackmail that Adam has made against Billy. Rey plays the recording of Billy talking to Adam in Adam’s office. Billy and Lily tell Rey that Adam, Ashland, and Victor planned all of this in order to take over Chancellor Communications. Rey says he will be more then happy to investigate their accusations once they can provide proof of the set up. Ashland returns from his trip to Peru and serves Billy and Lily with papers saying he is suing them for libel. Billy goes to Victor and admits defeat and tells him he will resign from Chancellor Communications if he lets Lily run the company and not take over the company

Abby remembers Chance and looks at his box of medals and pictures from his time in Iraq. Abby finds a picture of a husband and wife who were medics and treated Chance like family when they served together in the same unit. Abby remembers that Chance told them they had retired. Abby finds the couple’s address in a box of Chance’s letters. Abby finds out the couple lives in Majorca, Spain. Abby calls and gets the number and Chance’s friend Kim tells her that Chance is alive but badly hurt and needs her very much. Abby sends Devon a note saying that it is going to take her longer then she thought to handle her grief and she is at peace knowing he is taking care of Dominic.

Devon calls Denise Toliver to ask her to look for Abby. Victor also asks his private detectives to look for Abby because he is worried about her.
