Days of Our Lives Update

Johnny and Chanel have breakfast at the Brady Pub. Johnny suggests they do this more often now that Chanel finally found someone to replace Talia at the Bakery and will have more free time. Chanel assures that she plans to spend her time with him. Chanel asks Johnny about his bracelet. Johnny informs her that Holly made it for him and calls it cute. Chanel questions that and asks if he still doesn’t think Holly has a crush on him.

Holly is at home at the DiMera Mansion, holding a photo of Johnny as she thinks back to them eating together on Thanksgiving. Holly puts the photo down and tells herself to focus as she can’t sit around dreaming about Johnny all day when Nicole is struggling and needs her help.

Dimitri in his motel room and looks through the newspaper, saying that Sloan said she got Leo released so he looks for the article about it but instead finds out that Leo is to be arraigned on murder charges and questions what the hell this is.

At the DiMera Mansion, EJ tells Nicole that he’s off to make sure Leo is held responsible for their baby’s death. Nicole tells him to go do what he has to do. EJ wishes Dimitri was also in custody. Nicole remarks that he’s the only one who really knows what happened that night. EJ states that they know Dimitri brought the baby in to the hospital where Dr. Pierce tried to save his life but couldn’t. EJ remembers that he said he wouldn’t keep trying to convince her that the baby that Eric and Sloan adopted isn’t their baby. Nicole says he doesn’t have to. EJ asks if that means she’s accepted that their child is gone. Nicole responds that she has, but there’s so many unanswered questions from that night and she won’t feel at peace unless she knows the whole story. EJ says he knows and hugs her.

Holly calls Eric, who asks if everything is okay. Holly wanted to confirm that he’s still going to do the DNA test today. Eric confirms he set up the appointment with Kayla. Holly thanks him so much for doing this as she thinks it might be the only way to prove that his baby isn’t Nicole’s. Eric asks if Nicole knows about the test. Holly says no as she didn’t want to get her hopes up in case Eric said no. Eric says he’s happy to do whatever he can to put Nicole’s mind at ease and that he just needs to talk to Sloan about it first. Sloan then walks in and asks what he needs to talk to her about.

Johnny tells Chanel that it’s just a friendship bracelet that Holly made for him to thank him for spending Thanksgiving with her. Chanel responds that she knows how teenage girls are. Johnny insists that Holly is not in to him and already admitted to crushing on his dad. Chanel talks about how that’s weird since EJ is her stepfather and asks why Holly is making gifts for Johnny then. Tate comes over while working at the Pub and declares that Chanel is right that Holly doesn’t have a crush on EJ.

Holly guesses Eric will have to get back to her. Eric doesn’t think it will be an issue but says he will text her to confirm. Holly thanks him and hangs up. Sloan asks who was on the phone. Eric tells her it was Holly and she’s concerned about Nicole. Sloan guesses Nicole’s still fixated on the idea that their baby is her baby. Eric confirms that she is and says that’s why Holly had this idea but they get interrupted as Sloan gets a text and says she’s waiting to hear from the judge on Leo Stark’s case. Eric asks what’s going on with that. Sloan responds that she filed a motion this morning to have the murder charges dropped ahead of his arraignment. Sloan then reads her text which is from Dimitri, saying that she lied to him and warning her to prepare for the consequences.

EJ meets Leo in the interrogation room. Leo tells EJ that he’s not speaking with him without his attorney present. EJ says he doesn’t have to talk as he just wanted to tell him that he’s going to relish throwing the book at him. EJ reminds Leo that he’s being charged with aiding a wanted fugitive and also with the murder of his son. Leo tells EJ that he’s sincerely sorry for what happened to his baby. EJ thought he wasn’t going to talk. Leo says he needs to say this because he delivered the baby and is heartsick that he didn’t make it. Leo adds that his attorney told him there is no way that EJ can get the murder charge to stick. EJ argues that he can and he will which means Leo is going to spend the rest of his miserable life behind bars.

Nicole joins Holly in the living room and tells her that EJ had to go to work as he has the hearing about Leo’s case. Holly says that’s too bad as she hoped to talk to both of them. Nicole asks what it is. Holly explains that she’s been thinking about the conversation that they had about the baby and guesses that Nicole still thinks that Eric and Sloan’s baby is her baby. Nicole confirms that she let EJ think that she was letting it go, but insists that she could feel it in her heart when she held the baby and she knew he was her son. Nicole wishes there was a way that she could prove it. Holly responds that maybe she can. Nicole asks what she means. Holly then reveals that she went to see Eric last night and he agreed to have a DNA test done on the baby.

Tate apologizes for eavesdropping. Chanel tells him it’s okay as she’s glad that someone finally agrees with her about the whole Holly thing. Tate repeats that Holly doesn’t have a crush on EJ, at least not anymore, as she told him that she’s completely over him. Johnny asks if Tate is saying that Holly did have a crush on EJ. Tate asks what he means. Johnny explains that Chanel thinks Holly having a crush on EJ was just a cover story for her really having a crush on him. Tate laughs that off and says no way. Chanel asks if he’s sure. Tate claims that he and Holly have gotten really close and that she trusts him with all of her deepest secrets. Tate thinks back to agreeing to help Holly break up Johnny and Chanel. Chanel guesses that if Holly hasn’t said anything to Tate about Johnny then maybe she’s wrong. Johnny jokes with her about admitting to being wrong. Johnny tells Tate that he’s sorry for distracting him from work. Tate says he’s actually glad he ran in to him as it reminded him of something important he has to do which kind of involves Chanel.

Nicole asks Holly if Eric thinks Sloan will go along with the DNA test. Holly confirms that he didn’t seem to think it would be a problem. Nicole calls that great and asks when they can do it. Holly says Eric set up the appointment for today and guesses they just need a sample from Nicole or EJ. Nicole gets excited and says that’s not a problem. Holly hopes she doesn’t mind that she did this without asking. Nicole assures that she’s incredibly grateful that she would do this for her. Holly says she just hates seeing her in pain and wanted to find a way to help. Nicole thanks her and says she has no idea how much it means to her. Nicole adds that everyone thinks she’s gone off the deep end so it means a lot that her daughter is on her side as they hug.

Dimitri texts Sloan that Leo is facing prison and she will be too when he tells Nicole everything. Sloan responds that she’ll be right over and tells him not to do anything until she gets there. Eric asks Sloan how the judge ruled. Sloan says it wasn’t from the judge but it was about Leo’s case and she has to go deal with it. Eric tries to tell her about Holly’s idea but Sloan just says whatever they want to do to make sure Nicole accepts the truth is fine by her. Sloan tells Eric she’ll see him later and hurries out.

Leo informs EJ that Sloan told him felony murder doesn’t count in his case because the baby died at the hospital which was after he and Dimitri were fleeing the police, not during the actual crime. EJ says that Sloan tried to spin the story the same way with him, but argues that it’s not accurate because his son died from injuries in the accident that Leo and Dimitri caused which makes him still very much responsible. Leo argues that Sloan would’ve mentioned that. EJ guesses that Sloan hoped she could change his mind and get him to drop the charges. EJ says that Sloan tried to sell that to the judge as well but he won’t approve of dismissing the murder charges since the doctor gave a statement saying the baby’s death was a direct result of Leo’s actions. EJ tells Leo to face it that he’s screwed.

Chanel asks Tate how she’s involved in what he’s supposed to do. Tate explains how he caused damages at his old school and his dad is making him pay for it which is how he got the job at the Pub. Tate jokes that he’ll be working off the debt until he’s Roman’s age, so he’s been looking desperately for a second job and hoped he could work at the Bakery. Chanel admits they could use the help and says she’ll send him an application. Tate offers if they can go fill it out now since he’s about to go on break as he’s anxious to get started. Johnny points out that they haven’t even eaten yet. Chanel says it’s fine as she will walk him over to get the application while Johnny orders for them and then she’ll be back before the food. Tate thanks Chanel and they exit together.

Holly remains looking at Johnny’s photo until Nicole returns to the room with her toothbrush for a DNA sample. Holly asks if she’s nervous. Nicole says she is but isn’t. Nicole declares that she’s not worried. Nicole talks about feeling something so deep in your soul that no one can talk you out of it and you would risk anything to get the world to understand. Holly looks at Johnny’s photo and thinks she has felt that. Nicole says that’s why she is not worried. Nicole asks if it’s too early to go to the hospital. Holly doesn’t think so and mentions that Eric texted her that he and the baby are already there.

Eric meets Kayla at the hospital with the baby. Kayla compliments the baby and asks what his name is. Eric admits that he and Sloan haven’t been able to settle on that yet. Kayla asks what they came in for today. Eric responds that he was hoping for a DNA test. Kayla assumes it’s for the purpose of genetic testing. Eric says maybe down the road, but right now it’s more to prove that his son is his and not EJ and Nicole’s son.

Leo asks EJ how his actions caused the accident when he wasn’t the one driving. EJ says he’s well aware but Dimitri isn’t here to face the consequences and Leo is. Leo swears he doesn’t know where to find Dimitri so EJ guesses it’s on Leo to carry the burden. Leo calls that not fair. EJ warns him not to talk to him about fair as he brings up his child’s life being cut short thanks to Leo and Dimitri and now Nicole will grieve and suffer for the rest of her life. Leo apologizes again but insists it was a terrible accident and no one ever intended for anyone to get hurt. EJ states that it doesn’t matter as all he has to prove is that Leo committed a crime that directly led to the death of his son. Leo complains that he did everything he could to save him including delivering him, himself. Leo adds that after Dimitri left, he didn’t leave Nicole’s side until help arrived and asks if that counts for anything. EJ says no, because in the end his son is still dead.

Sloan goes to see Dimitri at the motel and says she can explain about Leo. Dimitri argues that she lied to him when she told him that she would get the murder charges dropped. Sloan responds that she tried her best and she built a strong case but EJ wouldn’t listen. Dimitri complains that it still leaves Leo on the hook for a murder of a child that’s still very much alive and living in her apartment. Sloan insists that she’s far from done in fighting the charges against Leo as she filed a motion this morning to have the judge drop the charges and she has high hopes he will listen to reason. Dimitri states that is not good enough as she didn’t hold up her end of the bargain, so he has no choice but to call Nicole and tell her all about how Sloan stole her baby.

Nicole tells Holly that she’s all set to go but then she gets a call from an unknown caller. Nicole answers the call and it’s Dimitri, who says they need to talk. Nicole is really glad he called because she needs to talk to him about her baby and asks what happened when he left the crash site with her son. Dimitri says that’s exactly why he’s calling. Sloan then grabs the phone from Dimitri and hangs up. Nicole guesses they got disconnected. Holly asks what he said. Nicole says Dimitri was going to tell her what happened to her baby and how Eric and Sloan ended up with her son. Holly suggests just calling him back, so she does.

Dimitri asks Sloan for his phone back. Sloan ignores Nicole’s call. Sloan knows Dimitri is upset about the charges against Leo but argues that telling Nicole is not going to free Leo. Dimitri asks how that is since EJ will have to drop the charges if he finds out the baby is not dead. Sloan argues that Leo will still face charges for a litany of other crimes. Sloan adds that they could hear back from the judge any minute now that he’s dropping the charges based on the motion she filed. Sloan checks her phone and sees a missed call and a voicemail, so she hopes it’s good news.

EJ finishes a call with the judge and informs Leo that he denied Sloan’s motion to drop the charges, so the murder charge stays.

Dimitri asks Sloan what the judge said. Sloan responds that she’s sorry. Dimitri decides that he’s telling Nicole everything then. Sloan pleads with him that he can’t. Dimitri declares that he’s not letting Leo go away for murder. Sloan promises that he won’t and guarantees that Leo will walk, but there’s one thing he has to do to ensure that. Sloan informs Dimitri that he has to turn himself in.

Nicole complains that Dimitri isn’t picking up and guesses he won’t call back. Nicole decides they should just get to the hospital. Holly then gets a text from Tate that Johnny is alone at the Pub and that he will stall Chanel so that she can make her move. Nicole asks Holly if something is wrong. Holly says it’s nothing and that a friend wanted to meet up but it can wait. Nicole tells her that she can go to the hospital on her own. Holly feels like she should be with her. Nicole says she just has to give her toothbrush and wait. Nicole tells Holly that she’s done enough already and that thanks to her, she will be reunited with her son.

Eric explains to Kayla that Nicole thought it was her baby, so Holly came up with the idea of the DNA test to put her mind at ease. Kayla calls it really kind of Eric and Sloan to agree to it. Eric admits that he hasn’t had a chance to tell Sloan but Kayla says only one parent has to sign off so he doesn’t need her permission. Eric says that’s good because Sloan is getting very uncomfortable with Nicole claiming it’s her child. Kayla says she should be very relieved when the results come out then. Eric gets a text from Nicole that she’s on her way with her DNA sample so Kayla says they can get started.

Holly goes to the Pub and finds Johnny sitting alone. She calls it a surprise and asks if he’s eating alone. Johnny tells her that Chanel was with him but she took Tate to the Bakery to apply for a job. Holly notes that Tate has been talking about getting another gig. Holly offers to sit with him until Chanel gets back which Johnny allows. Holly notices that Johnny is wearing the bracelet she made for him and says it looks great. Holly adds that she’s glad they had a chance to be alone because she has something she wants to tell him but wants to keep it between them.

Kayla tells Eric that she just needs a sample from Nicole or EJ and they are all set. Nicole then arrives with her sample and hands over the toothbrush. Nicole thanks Eric for doing this. Eric says anything he can do to help. Nicole asks how the baby is doing. Eric says he’s great and sleeping right now. Nicole asks to look in on him and promises not to wake him which Eric allows. Nicole tells the baby that she’s so happy to see him and is sorry he had to be dragged to the hospital while taking a nap. Nicole hopes in the end that it will all be worth it.

Leo tells EJ that he’s making a big mistake going after him like this. Leo says that thanks to the support of the Spectator, the court of public opinion already decided he’s a victim. EJ says that’s not a real court. Leo suggests it’s the only one that counts and he becomes the story himself. Leo says that people are very invested in his happiness. EJ remarks that was before they found out he killed a baby. Leo argues that he didn’t as he delivered the baby himself and then Dimitri took him to the hospital. Leo insists that EJ will be screwed when they hear his side of the story as they will see that EJ is trying to railroad him and then they will be asking for his resignation. EJ thinks Leo is vastly overestimating his influence. Leo says he couldn’t be more wrong and claims his devoted fans are loyal and protective. Leo compares himself to the #FreeBritney movement which EJ laughs at. Leo declares that Paulina will have no choice but to fire EJ. EJ tells him it was a nice try but calls him completely delusional as no one gives a rat’s ass about him, including Dimitri.

Dimitri questions Sloan wanting him to turn himself in. Sloan says then they could make a trade with EJ, since it was Dimitri behind the wheel and not Leo. Sloan declares that if Dimitri agrees to plead guilty, Leo walks. Dimitri questions why he would ever do that when he can prove that Leo never murdered anyone and Sloan could fight the other charges. Sloan declares that she can’t fight the charges if she’s in prison for stealing Nicole’s baby. Dimitri shouts that he’ll hire another attorney then as she’s not the only one in town. Sloan complains that Dimitri is forgetting that EJ is incredibly dangerous and he will torture and punish Leo while holding him responsible for Dimitri’s claims. Sloan adds that Leo already admitted to much of what he’s done, so he is going to prison and maybe for the rest of his life. Sloan asks if that’s what Dimitri wants. Dimitri says of course not. Sloan states that what they need to do is make a trade with EJ and give him what he really wants which is Dimitri’s head on a platter, repeating that it was Dimitri driving when Nicole got in the accident. Sloan guesses the real question is how much Leo means to Dimitri. Sloan asks if he loves him enough to sacrifice himself to save him.

EJ tells Leo that Dimitri is probably off somewhere enjoying the good life and never looking back. Leo insists their love affair is real. EJ says maybe to Leo, but to Dimitri it was just a temporary diversion and now Leo is all alone. Sloan arrives and says that’s not true. Sloan announces that she just spoke to Dimitri and he’s willing to turn himself in if EJ drops all charges against Leo.

Dimitri remains in his motel room, looking at the photos he and Leo took as ghosts on Halloween. Dimitri can’t believe he’s doing this but decides that Sloan is right that if he wants to free Leo, he has to turn himself in. Dimitri never thought he would sacrifice himself for another person, but declares that’s how much he loves Leo. Someone then knocks on his door. Dimitri questions who the hell that could be.

Tate and Chanel walk through the town square. Tate thanks her for the tour of the Bakery and calls her a genius. Chanel jokes that he doesn’t have to suck up to her to get the job. Chanel instructs him to just fill out the application and they will find something for him. Tate thanks her. Chanel says she’s going back to the Pub but Tate stops her and says she can’t go back yet. Chanel asks why not.

Johnny tells Holly that she sounds serious. Holly says that it is. Johnny asks what it’s about. Holly responds that it’s about her mom. Johnny mentions that EJ told him that she thinks Eric and Sloan’s baby is her baby. Holly calls it so sad as Nicole is totally convinced their little brother didn’t die and that somehow Eric ended up with him. Johnny calls that a lot. Holly explains that she knew Nicole wouldn’t get over it until she had proof, so she came up with a plan. Holly reveals that they are doing a DNA test on Eric’s baby right now.

Nicole asks Kayla what happens now. Kayla says she will take the samples to the lab now and if they are lucky, they’ll get the results back within the hour. Kayla tells Nicole and Eric that they can stay and wait if they want. Eric thanks her as Kayla says she’ll see them soon and exits. Nicole can’t believe that she’s about to have proof that this is her baby.

Sloan is at home and calls out to Eric that she is getting the baby his bottle. Sloan then gets a call from Dimitri, who asks if she’s gotten Leo out of prison yet. Sloan tells him to give her a break as it’s only been a couple hours. Sloan reminds Dimitri that she’s also caring for a baby. Dimitri says that’s not his problem and orders her to do her job, or else his next call will be to the baby’s real mother.

Nicole sits at home with her phone. EJ walks in and talks about his work call taking so long even on Thanksgiving. EJ asks if she wants more tea or something to eat but Nicole says she’s fine. Nicole asks if everyone else went out for Thanksgiving. Holly then walks in and is surprised to see Nicole is home.

Theresa calls that very gallant of Alex to come to her defense like that as she doesn’t think anyone’s ever done that for her before. Alex calls the knight in shining armor routine new for him too but says she had a rough day and Xander got what he deserved. Theresa checks on Alex’s hand. Alex admits it hurt and hopes that she knows she’s not the problem for Xander. Theresa states that he has lots of problems because of her. Alex argues that Xander always wants something he can’t have but he’s never going to be able to trade places with him. Theresa then asks why they are wasting time talking about Xander and suggests they go home.

Steve tells Maggie that he didn’t want to say anything until he had more information, but it’s very possible that Konstantin orchestrated the kidnapping to score points with Maggie and Sarah. Konstantin swears he would never do that and that he had nothing to do with the kidnapping. Steve questions if it was just a coincidence that a mysterious stranger just wandered in as soon as he started watching the baby. Konstantin then shouts that it was not mysterious at all and reveals he knows who did it. Maggie questions him saying he knows who took Victoria. Konstantin flashes back to retrieving the baby from Theresa. Konstantin confirms that he does, so Steve asks who it was. Konstantin calls it very hard for him to say. Steve tells him to just spit it out. Konstantin knows he said Steve was mistaken but he’s starting to believe he’s not completely off base. Konstantin declares that the person who took Victoria did it because of him, to force his hand.

Holly says if EJ and Nicole want space, she’ll just go up to her room. Nicole stops her and apologizes for what happened at the hospital, snapping at her when she was just trying to make her feel better. Holly assures that it’s okay as she can’t imagine what she’s going through. Nicole thanks her. Holly asks if she needs anything. Nicole hugs her and declares that she has everything she needs in this room. Nicole tells Holly that she’s so grateful to have her as her daughter and she loves her so much.

Dimitri tells Sloan to acknowledge that she heard his request. Sloan assures that she did, especially the part where he was threatening her and her son. Dimitri asks for a response. Sloan tells him that she will leave her son at home on his first night to go deal with Leo. Dimitri tells her that she can come see him at the White Dove Motel when it’s done. Sloan hangs up as Eric comes home and tells Sloan that he finally got the baby back to sleep. Sloan apologizes for forgetting to warm up the bottle. Eric asks if everything is okay. Sloan tells him it’s not and she has to deal with a client. Eric questions it being on Thanksgiving. Sloan calls it an emergency and asks if he’ll be okay alone with the baby. Eric jokes that the men will hold down the fort. Sloan thanks him and calls him a lifesaver as she kisses him. Sloan then exits as she wishes Eric a happy Thanksgiving.

Alex and Theresa go home where Theresa holds frozen peas on his injured hand. Theresa hates that he got hurt but is so grateful that he came to her defense twice in one day. Alex responds that Xander had no right to talk to her that way while Konstantin doesn’t know either one of them. Alex knows Maggie likes Konstantin and he seemed okay at first, but he’s starting to wonder about him. Alex mentions wanting to stop by the Kiriakis Mansion tomorrow after being swamped at work. Alex invites Theresa to come with him but Theresa questions where their professional relationship leaves their personal relationship.

Maggie questions Konstantin about someone kidnapping her granddaughter to force his hand. Konstantin says it was people back in Greece which Steve questions. Konstantin claims that it all started with his loan from Victor to start his restaurant and says he had every intention of paying it back, but when he couldn’t. he turned to an unsavory man with connections to the Greek underworld to help him. Maggie asks if he’s talking about the mob. Konstantin admits he couldn’t pay him either so before he knew it, he owed twice as much. Steve asks what this has to do with baby Victoria. Konstantin claims he thinks this man or one of his associates took the baby to use as leverage. Steve wonders why Konstantin waited until now to say anything.

Marlena goes to see Eric and wishes him a happy Thanksgiving. Marlena hugs Eric and acknowledges that her son is now a dad. Marlena asks to see the baby. Eric says he just put him to sleep but she can look in on him. Marlena adds that she brought a present for the baby. Marlena mentions not knowing his name. Eric explains that he and Sloan haven’t agreed on one yet. Marlena asks where Sloan is so she can congratulate the new mom but Eric informs her that she stepped out on a client emergency.

The doorbell at the DiMera Mansion rings so EJ tells Nicole and Holly that he will get that. Holly tells Nicole that she seems a lot better today. Nicole responds that she is and with good reason. Nicole adds that there is something she wants to tell Holly that she didn’t want to say in front of EJ. Nicole then declares that her baby is alive.

EJ answers the door at the DiMera Mansion to see Sloan.

Steve asks Konstantin again why he waited until now to speak up if he knew the mobsters took Sarah’s baby. Konstantin claims that he didn’t put it together until today, but now he wonders if they were watching him all along or if they followed him to wait for an opening and then jumped at the opportunity. Konstantin tells Maggie that he’s sorry for putting her family in danger.

Theresa tells Alex that she doesn’t mean to put him on the spot, but they haven’t really defined what they had. Theresa says they slept together in Greece because he felt sorry for her but Alex insists that was not pity sex. Theresa says that afterwards, they agreed to step back and take things slow. Alex notes that is what Theresa said she wanted. Theresa points out that they are living together now and even with separate bedrooms, people that are taking it slow don’t really share a bathroom. Theresa asks Alex where they go from here. Alex asks if there is some place she’s hoping to go. Theresa points out that they went on one date already and asks how he feels about another date or if the situation is too messy for him.

Eric opens Marlena’s present which is baby shoes. Marlena brings up Nicole’s baby and doesn’t know how she lives with the pain. Eric acknowledges that she had high hopes. Marlena says she thought about stopping in on her and EJ but thought about giving them more time. Marlena asks if Eric has seen Nicole. Eric confirms he ran in to her today. Marlena asks how she seemed. Eric responds that she was grieving, but when she held his baby, she was convinced that he was her baby.

Holly questions how Nicole’s baby could be alive and what makes her think that. Nicole explains that Eric and Sloan adopted a newborn baby boy today and she ran in to Eric at the Pub today. Nicole says she asked to hold him and that’s when she knew he was her baby. Nicole adds that Eric and EJ didn’t believe her and she knows how it sounds, but insists that it’s the truth that the baby that Eric and Sloan adopted is the baby that she gave birth to. Nicole declares that he is her baby boy.

EJ asks what the hell Sloan wants. Sloan says she came to offer her condolences for the loss of his child first. EJ thanks her and asks what is second. Sloan responds that she came on behalf of her client, Leo Stark, and says EJ has to drop the murder charges against him because he’s not responsible for the death of his son. EJ asks if Leo isn’t responsible, then who is?

Konstantin tells Maggie that he has deep regret about bringing criminals to her doorstep but assures that he was never in cahoots with them. Steve calls it quite a story. Maggie says it’s quite troubling but she thanks Konstantin for being honest. Konstantin apologizes to Steve for not coming to him and John earlier. Steve warns that he’s just lucky that Victoria is safe. Steve tells Maggie that he’s going to head home as Kayla is finishing up her shift at the hospital and he’d like to spend the rest of the holiday with his wife. Maggie wishes them a happy Thanksgiving and thanks Steve for his help. Steve then exits the mansion.

Alex says he can’t deny that their situation is complicated. Theresa asks if that means he wants to keep the romance out of it and just be roommates and co-workers. Alex says he didn’t say that but they have a lot working against them as he has family members that aren’t thrilled about them being together. Theresa thought he didn’t care about what Xander said. Alex notes that Xander isn’t the only one that warned him about her as Brady pretty much told him that he’d be risking everything by letting her in to his life and his company. Theresa admits that she and Brady have a very long history and most of it is bad. Alex is sure that Brady has his own agenda. Alex says the bottom line is that Brady is not scaring him off, because he doesn’t scare that easily. Theresa says she’s noticed that about him and it makes her very happy because she’s trying to accept the roommate living situation thing they have going but admits it’s kind of killing her. Alex asks how so. Theresa declares that she’s so in to Alex and it keeps her up at night as she can’t wait to see him in the morning. Theresa states that being this close to him makes it so hard to pretend that she doesn’t want to rip off his clothes. Alex then kisses Theresa. Alex suggests they take it to the bedroom as they continue kissing.

Marlena tells Eric that it’s not too surprising that Nicole would believe his baby was her baby as the grief can be overwhelming and rather than trying to cope, she’s subconsciously trying to deny it. Eric says it’s just uncomfortable and sad as Nicole wouldn’t even give the baby back until EJ came out of the Pub and convinced her to. Marlena asks if she accepted it then. Eric says she seemed to, but he’s just not sure. Eric talks about how Nicole looked back at the baby as she walked away, as if she wasn’t letting go of him.

Sloan understands EJ needs to blame someone for the death of his son. EJ blames Leo for causing the car accident with Dimitri. Sloan argues that Leo is not at fault for that and the baby was alive when he arrived at the hospital so he did not die during a crime. EJ says if Sloan is so hellbent on saving Leo, then she should produce the driver of the car, Dimitri. EJ declares that if she can’t, he will see her in court. EJ tells Sloan to show herself out and heads back in to the living room. Sloan follows him to stop him. EJ questions what the hell she is doing. Sloan responds that she just wanted to talk to him more. EJ threatens to throw her out but Nicole stops him. Sloan greets Nicole but Nicole then questions why Sloan took her baby. Nicole demands an answer as to why she took his little boy. EJ tells her that they talked about this. Sloan says she heard from Eric. Nicole asks if he said she was crazy. Sloan says she’s truly sorry for her loss, but their son is not her son. Nicole questions who gave the baby to her and how she got him. EJ declares that it’s time for Sloan to leave but Nicole argues that she needs answers. EJ says not tonight. Nicole pleads with him. Sloan tells Nicole to listen to EJ and put an end to this for everybody’s sake. Holly tries to stop Nicole as Sloan exits. Nicole cries that she needs to know why Sloan and Eric have her baby.

Konstantin tells Maggie that he’s so sorry and feels that he has ruined her holidays. Maggie calls it very troubling. Konstantin says he doesn’t blame Steve for being suspicious of him as he’s sure it serves him well in his profession. Konstantin adds that Maggie is very lucky to have a friend so protective of her. Konstantin admits Steve is correct that it was his fault that her granddaughter was in danger. Maggie questions those people making Konstantin’s life hell for years, but she doesn’t condone his involvement with them and won’t tolerate having her family’s safety threatened in any way. Maggie declares that she needs Konstantin to leave now.

Alex and Theresa continue kissing and start to undress. Theresa mentions that she has her clothes all over her floor and bed so suggests going to Alex’s room, but Alex admits he hasn’t changed his sheets since they moved in. Theresa refuses to get naked in there then, so they decide on the couch and continue kissing.

Marlena tells Eric that she’s sorry that he had an uncomfortable moment with Nicole. Eric states that she doesn’t deserve any of this and he just feels blessed to be a dad while he can’t imagine losing him. Marlena tells Eric that she’s so happy for him as he’s waited so long for this. Marlena decides she should get going and reminds Eric to name the baby. Eric says they will work on that and adds that they are planning a christening. Marlena says she’s looking forward to it and tells Eric not to worry too much about Nicole as she’ll figure a way through this. Eric thanks Marlena as she then exits.

Nicole questions why EJ let Sloan leave without going after her. EJ understands how upsetting it must have been to see Eric out with his son today. Nicole argues that it was their son and she needs to get him back from Sloan. EJ tells her that going after Sloan will just make her angry and sadder. EJ says they will discuss this further when she calms down. EJ tells Nicole that he loves her and that they will figure this out together. Nicole cries that she just wants her baby back as EJ hugs her.

Alex and Theresa lay on the couch after having sex. Theresa says who needs a bed while Alex agrees that sheets just get in the way. Theresa calls the couch enjoyable while Alex jokes that the floor wasn’t too bad either. Alex assures her that it was not pity sex. Theresa thanks him and suggests maybe they have dinner first next time, assuming there will be a next time. Alex assures there will be. Theresa jokes that maybe next time they can even try a bed as they continue kissing.

Konstantin questions Maggie wanting him to leave. Maggie is sure he will understand that the safety of her family will always be her first priority. Konstantin says he understands and respects that, but he doesn’t know where to go. Maggie suggests the Salem Inn for tonight until he books his flight back to Greece. Konstantin says he can’t afford to. Maggie gets that money is obviously an issue for him and since his debt was incurred because of her husband, she will pay off his debt to Victor. Konstantin says he can’t let that happen but Maggie insists. Maggie believes he’s a good man, who got involved in a very bad and dangerous situation. Maggie repeats that she doesn’t condone him borrowing money from a criminal because he was desperate. Maggie says she’s not judging him but she can’t have that danger around her family. Maggie agrees to give him enough to pay for his night at the Salem Inn and then she will cover his flight back to Greece. Maggie says she’s sorry it came to this. Konstantin says he’s heartbroken as he cares for her and her friendship is a blessing to him, but he understands she’s keeping her family safe and he will respect her wishes. Maggie decides she will pay off the criminals that harassed him and then maybe, he can get his life back. Konstantin thanks her for all that she has done and says her kindness and support means more than she’ll ever know. Konstantin goes to pack his things.

Steve walks through the town square and calls John. Steve knows they said no calls on the holidays but he didn’t think this could wait. Steve informs John that he just came from Maggie’s and he’ll never guess what Konstantin is claiming now. Steve reveals that Konstantin said Sarah’s baby being kidnapped was because of Greek mobsters that he owed money to and Maggie believed him. Steve thinks they need to step up their investigation and get Konstantin out of Maggie’s life before she gets in any deeper.

Sloan goes to see Dimitri at the motel. Dimitri complains that it took her long enough and asks if she talked to EJ. Sloan confirms that she did and claims the charges against Leo will be dropped in the morning. Dimitri tells her good work and that he knew she could do it.

EJ brings Nicole a glass of water and asks how she’s feeling. Nicole responds that she’s better now thanks to him. Nicole apologizes for earlier. EJ says there’s no need to apologize. Nicole knows EJ doesn’t think it’s possible that Sloan’s baby could be their baby. EJ understands that she does, so he’s not going to try to convince her otherwise. EJ calls it one of the longest days of his life and he’s sure she feels the same. EJ points out that it’s still Thanksgiving and they have a lot to be grateful for. EJ feels things will look a lot different in the morning. Nicole hopes so as she feels so bad for falling apart in front of Holly since she looked so worried. Nicole asks if EJ knows where Holly went.

Holly goes to see Eric, who calls it a nice surprise and wishes her a happy Thanksgiving. Eric asks if something is wrong and if her mom is okay. Holly responds that she was just with her and she still believes his baby is her baby, so that’s why she is here. Holly had an idea that maybe would put Nicole’s mind at ease. Holly asks if Eric would be willing to perform a DNA test on her baby. Holly assures that she knows the baby isn’t Nicole’s, but thought maybe if they could prove it to Nicole then she’ll have to let it go. Holly knows it will be hard for Nicole to face the truth but at least she would know for sure that the baby is not her baby.

Stephanie questions Chad wanting to give Everett a chance and suddenly seeming so chill about him. Chad claims he’s realized he’s been critical and made unfair assumptions about him. Chad insists that he’s chill. Stephanie is glad he can be chill about Everett since she works with him now, but it feels like a 180, so she wonders what’s changed.

Xander goes to the Spectator where Everett is finishing up the response to Leo’s murder charges and asks if he wants to take a look at it before it’s sent to the printer. Xander tells him to actually stop for now. Everett questions if he’s having second thoughts about defending Leo. Xander responds that it’s not about Leo, but about Everett. Xander informs Everett that he’s sorry but he’s going to have to let him go. Everett is shocked as he questions Xander firing him. Xander thinks back to Chad’s offer to be his silent partner. Everett demands an answer, saying he knows for a fact that he’s doing a good job which Xander just told him a few days ago. Everett asks what this is about and why he’s firing him.

Sarah tells Kayla and Steve how Konstantin caught the kidnapper and rescued her daughter, risking his life to save her. Steve remarks that it sounds like he was at the right place at the right time, feeling it was too convenient. Sarah asks what he’s saying. Kayla points out that Konstantin was knocked out on the floor. Sarah adds that Maggie did see the kidnapper from behind so Konstantin couldn’t have made that up. Steve suggests Konstantin had an accomplice and partner in crime. Sarah questions why he would do that. Steve says maybe he’s like a firefighter who starts fires just to put them out and play the hero. Kayla questions thinking that Konstantin arranged to have Sarah’s baby kidnapped. Steve confirms that and brings up putting Konstantin on notice and thinking he was a liar. Steve believes that Konstantin figured if he saved Sarah’s daughter, he could no wrong in Maggie’s eyes ever again.

Theresa complains that she can’t watch Konstantin sucking up to Maggie while she has no idea that he’s just after her money. Theresa says the whole thing is making her sick. Konstantin argues that she’s doing the exact same thing. Alex comes back in to the room as Konstantin tells Theresa that they both know she’s only after Alex to get her hands on his inheritance. Alex asks if everything is okay here as it sounded like they were going at it. Alex reveals he heard Konstantin say that Theresa is only with him for his money. Alex questions why Konstantin would say that. Theresa claims that she just officially met him today and he accused her of being a gold digger because Alex is rich and she’s not. Theresa says she explained that they are not in a relationship but he finds it highly suspicious that they are living together and working together. Alex questions why their relationship is any of Konstantin’s business. Maggie then walks in and says that’s what she would like to know.

Kayla thinks it’s extreme for Konstantin to fake a kidnapping because he’s worried that Steve is onto him about lying a tablecloth, not to mention the risk if he was caught. Steve says the whole story just doesn’t sit right with him. Steve goes over that Konstantin is a senior citizen and the minute he volunteers to watch the baby, he gets knocked out from behind, and then after being knocked out, the senior citizen leaps up and runs down a supposed kidnapper, retrieves the baby but loses the perp and in the process, conveniently forgets what they look like. Kayla points out that he had been knocked out which Steve questions. Steve asks about the motive for the mysterious kidnapper. Sarah says the police think there would’ve been a ransom demand. Steve brings up how there was no evidence of that, no suspect, prints, or signs of forced entry. Steve says he’s suspicious because he already thinks Konstantin is bad news. Kayla and Sarah find Konstantin charming. Sarah admits that when he first came and was getting close with Maggie, she felt he was getting too close, too quickly and that she told him to be careful about asking him to stay through Christmas. Steve asks Sarah when she told Maggie that. Sarah admits it was the day that Victoria kidnapped. Steve believes that Konstantin could’ve been hiding and listening in on their conversation. Sarah admits it’s possible. Steve points out that when Konstantin rescued the baby, Sarah’s feelings about him changed, so if that was his grand plan, it worked like a charm.

Chad tells Stephanie that she’s right that he feels a lot better about Everett and her history with him and working with him. Chad claims he just finally came to his senses. Stephanie questions him coming to his senses out of the blue and being just fine with everything. Chad says he’s not going to waste his time being suspicious and jealous when he can just do something about it. Stephanie asks like what?

Everett questions if Xander is not satisfied with his work since he just told him a couple days ago that hiring him was the right decision and everything was up. Everett asks what changed his mind. Xander offers him an amazing severance package but Everett demands a straight answer as to why he fired him. Everett argues that he uprooted his life and moved halfway across the country, so he has a right to know why he fired him. Xander then admits that it wasn’t his idea, but his partner’s.

Stephanie asks Chad for an answer as to what he thought he could do to get over his jealousy. Chad claims he realized it doesn’t matter to him whether Everett came to Salem thinking they would pick up where they left off. Chad says maybe he misjudged the situation and was completely off base with what his intentions were. Stephanie thinks back to finding out that Everett was going to propose. Stephanie then reveals to Chad that he wasn’t wrong as she does think Everett hoped there would be a chance for them. Stephanie promises that Everett knows now that there’s not, because she has moved on with Chad. Stephanie asks what Chad is thinking. Chad responds that things have been rocky between them and he was worried that Everett would take an opportunity because of that, but he knows he can’t blame people for his mistakes which is why he had to take responsibility for his actions. Chad tells Stephanie that he wants to fix what’s going on with them and he wants them to get back to living the wonderful life they had before, if that’s what she wants too.

Everett questions Xander as he thought Gwen left town and was no longer involved in the day to day operations of the paper. Xander responds that she isn’t and he didn’t think she still reads the paper, but she does and she saw his article on Leo. Xander claims that Leo’s most recent betrayal of Gwen is still very raw to her, so she called him, demanding that he let him go. Everett questions Xander having to give in to that demand. Xander says his history with Gwen is complicated and the whole partner situation is tenuous at best. Everett says he was just finishing up another piece defending Leo Stark. Xander confirms that will never see the light of day. Xander repeats that he’s terribly sorry about everything. Everett says he doesn’t believe him.

Sarah hears what Steve is saying, but says she genuinely likes Konstantin and he has made Maggie so happy. Sarah says if Konstantin did save her little girl, then she’s beyond grateful to him. Steve says that’s exactly what Konstantin was counting on. Steve doesn’t mean to scare Sarah but says that Maggie is a grieving widow with a lot of money and brings up that if Konstantin has money problems back in Greece and was brazen enough to stage a kidnapping. Kayla questions if Konstantin had a partner in crime, who the hell it would be. Steve responds that he doesn’t know, but he intends to find out.

Konstantin says to forgive him if he overstepped, but he heard Theresa recently moved to Salem and immediately moved in with Alex, so he was concerned for her motives. Alex tells him that he doesn’t need to be as they started spending time together before any of them had a clue that he was Victor’s son. Theresa says that is true and admits maybe she has chased a guy for his money in the past, but claims that’s not something she would do now because she has too much self respect. Maggie says that Theresa has come a long way since then and she’s very proud of her. Theresa thanks Maggie. Theresa then asks who wouldn’t want Alex just the way he is. Alex jokes with Maggie, who suggests they drop all this and enjoy their tea. Konstantin apologizes and says he spoke up out of concern for Victor’s family and he’s sorry for hurting Maggie as he hopes she can forgive him. Maggie assures that she does and understands he cares about their family which she appreciates.

Stephanie assures Chad that she wouldn’t be there if she didn’t want to be, but lately they have felt like an old married couple, like they’ve been going through the motions of a relationship instead of dealing with the commitment and relationship goals. Chad says he knows as they hug. Chad thought maybe it would be good for them to be alone tonight as the kids are sleeping over at Doug and Julie’s. Chad suggests they can start working on those relationship goals and just enjoy each other. Stephanie says she would like that a lot as they kiss.

Xander questions Everett not believing his reason for letting him go. Everett believes that Xander is hiding something. Xander says maybe he’d understand if he knew Gwen. Everett guesses he’ll never have the pleasure. Everett wishes Xander luck in finding content to publish in the paper tomorrow. Xander adds that he really hates having to do this. Everett says that doesn’t make him feel better. Everett guesses he will clear out his desk.

Sarah thanks Kayla for the insight and says she should be used to difficult patients, but this one threw her. Kayla says it’s understandable. Sarah is glad she stopped by and calls it illuminating for a lot of reasons. Kayla is glad she could help and that Steve was there also. Sarah prays that Steve is wrong about Konstantin because Maggie would be devastated. Sarah adds that it was truly terrifying to have her child kidnapped, once she was back in her arms, she and Xander started to see things differently. Kayla asks how so. Sarah explains that instead of the warpath they have been on with each other, they realized that what’s most important is that they care about their daughter and each other.

Konstantin thanks Maggie for understanding and claims his suspicions only come from the deepest concern for her family. Theresa claims she no longer has an appetite and Alex decides go with her. Maggie offers to send them home with leftovers, so she takes Alex and Theresa to the kitchen to choose what they want. Steve then walks in and startles Konstantin. Konstantin asks if he’s looking for Maggie but Steve assures that he was looking for him.

Alex and Theresa walk through the town square. Theresa apologizes for cutting he and Maggie’s time short and for causing problems. Alex assures that Maggie adores her and that she wasn’t the problem. Alex mocks Konstantin and jokes with her. Alex tells her to forget about what Konstantin said because he has no idea what he’s talking about since he doesn’t know her. Xander then walks up and asks if Alex is sure about that.

Kayla is glad that Sarah and Xander were able to work things out. Sarah says she didn’t want Victoria to grow up without a father and admits she was scared to trust Xander again. Sarah adds that she was even more scared that she might let herself fall in love with him again. Kayla questions if she’s not worried about that anymore. Sarah says they didn’t close the door on that, so they just have to wait and see what happens between them. Kayla asks if there’s a chance they could work things out.

Konstantin asks Steve what it is this time. Steve says it’s the same thing as before as he doesn’t think he’s been entirely honest with Maggie. Steve brings up Konstantin telling Maggie that Victor gave him a free pass and didn’t expect to be paid back. Konstantin claims that is the truth but Steve says that doesn’t sound like the Victor they knew, so he decided to look in to it. Steve reveals that he just got back from Greece where he spoke to a whole lot of people who told a very different story about Konstantin’s history with Victor. Konstantin questions Steve flying all the way to Greece to dig up dirt on him. Steve shouts that he and Kayla care about Maggie and don’t like to see her taken advantage of. Steve tells Konstantin that he won’t tell Maggie about any of this on the condition that he goes back to Greece and never shows his face here again.

Chad and Stephanie continue kissing until there’s a knock at the door. Chad says he’ll get rid of them but opens the door to see Everett. Chad tells him this isn’t the best time. Everett says he’s sorry to interrupt but it’s about work. Chad argues that it’s Thanksgiving. Everett says he won’t be dragging Stephanie away and just wanted to tell her that he doesn’t think they will be working together anymore because he just got fired. Stephanie questions what happened as she thought Xander was thrilled with his work and said so multiple times. Everett responds that apparently, his silent partner decided to break her silence and now he’s out of a job. Chad claims it makes sense since Gwen likes to make everyone as miserable as she is. Stephanie asks what Gwen’s problem is. Everett says he understands Gwen and Leo have bad blood. Stephanie says it’s because of her PR strategy then and blames herself. Everett assures that she was brilliant and it’s not her fault as he calls this a personal vendetta. Everett says he just came by to let her know since he hired her and she’ll have to talk to Xander about her position in the company. Stephanie says she’ll have plenty to say to Xander but Everett asks her not to do so on his behalf. Stephanie asks who is going to put out the paper tomorrow. Everett responds that Xander should’ve thought about that before he fired the person who does so, but it’s not his problem anymore. Everett says he just came by to give Stephanie the heads up. Stephanie thanks him and asks what he’s going to do since he just moved here, signed a lease and bought all his new furniture. Everett says he’ll figure it out as he’s been through worse. Everett wishes them a happy Thanksgiving while Chad wishes him good luck and he exits.

Konstantin questions Steve blackmailing him in to leaving the country. Steve calls that one way to look at it, or he could see it as improving his life’s circumstances. Steve warns that Maggie looks sweet and forgiving but he wouldn’t like to be on the receiving end when she finds out he’s been conning her. Maggie then comes in and greets Steve as she asks what’s going on. Konstantin reveals that Steve wants him to leave Salem. Maggie asks Steve why. Konstantin says that Steve is upset with him because he lied to her. Maggie questions what he lied about. Konstantin then tells Maggie about the tablecloth not being Victor’s or from Greece. Steve tells Maggie that there’s more. Konstantin admits he bought the tablecloth at the bargain basement, saying he was trying to do something nice for Maggie and bring her comfort. Steve tells Konstantin to continue. Konstantin then tells Maggie that when he told her that Victor forgave the debt to his restaurant, he was lying again because he wanted to spare her feelings to think the best of her husband, but he was not too generous with his finances. Konstantin claims he loved Victor dearly nonetheless. Maggie says she did as well. Konstantin swears that everything else he’s told her has been the God’s honest truth. Steve asks if he’s leaving something out. Konstantin asks what he’s getting at. Steve then suggests he tell Maggie about the kidnapping.

Sarah tells Kayla that her head is spinning since so much has happened between her and Xander as some of it was wonderful and some of it was terrible with no in between. Sarah says no matter how hard she tries to put her feelings for him behind her, she can’t seem to outrun them but she doesn’t want to screw up their ability to co-parent. Kayla says she has her priorities in the right spot. Sarah knows Xander isn’t Kayla’s favorite person. Kayla says she loves Sarah and wants her to be happy. Kayla recalls when her family didn’t want her to be with Steve, so she knows how hard it is. Sarah points out that her mom is actually Xander’s biggest fan.

Theresa tells Xander that she and Alex were having a private conversation and that Xander doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Xander reminds her that he saw her and Konstantin talking in the town square just the other day. Theresa claims that he was just asking for directions. Xander says he didn’t look that lost to him. Theresa argues that he’s just picking a fight with her because he’s trying to poach her editor-in-chief from Bella but she just gave her a big raise so she’s not going anywhere. Theresa wishes Xander luck with that dumpster fire he calls a paper. Xander remarks that only an idiot like Alex would hire someone like Theresa to revive Bella. Alex asks what that’s supposed to mean. Xander remarks that if he just inherited the money that Alex did, he wouldn’t waste a penny on a schemer like Theresa. Xander adds that Victor must be rolling over in his grave, konwing that his secret son is put all his faith in Theresa who he calls worthless. Alex then punches Xander.

Chad wants he and Stephanie to pick up where they left off but realizes she’s no longer in the mood. Stephanie says she just feels bad that her decision got Everett fired. Chad argues that they were his decisions to make and the buck stops with him which she agrees with. Stephanie tells Chad that she feels better and they continue kissing.

Everett walks past the Brady Pub and calls Gwen, leaving a message saying they don’t know each other but he imagines she knows her name since she just fired him by proxy. Everett reveals that he got her number from his former copy editor. Everett says he has a few questions to ask her.

Alex tells Xander that Theresa has been insulted enough and demands that he apologize. Xander refuses as Sarah rushes up and questions what happened. Xander tells Sarah that he’s fine. Sarah says he needs ice and they walk off together. Theresa calls that very gallant of Alex to come to her defense like that as she doesn’t think anyone’s ever done that for her before. Alex calls the knight in shining armor routine new for him too but says she had a rough day and Xander got what he deserved. Theresa checks on Alex’s hand. Alex admits it hurt and hopes that she knows she’s not the problem for Xander. Theresa states that he has lots of problems with her. Alex argues that Xander always wants something he can’t have but he’s never going to be able to trade places with him…

Konstantin questions what Steve is talking about in regards to the kidnapping. Steve says he didn’t want to say anything until he had more information, but it’s very possible that Konstantin orchestrated the kidnapping to score points with Maggie and Sarah. Konstantin swears he would never do that and that he had nothing to do with the kidnapping. Steve questions if it was just a coincidence that a mysterious stranger just wandered in as soon as he started watching the baby. Konstantin then shouts that it was not mysterious at all and reveals he knows who did it.

Kayla is in her office, on the phone with her son Joey. Kayla asks him about Thanksgiving and tells him that Stephanie and Chad went to Doug and Julie’s while Tripp is with Wendy and she’s stuck at work, but she and Steve will have a turkey dinner when he gets back from Greece. Kayla says she doesn’t know when that will be but then Steve arrives and surprises her with flowers. Kayla tells Steve that she’s glad he’s there as they hug and Steve wishes her a Happy Thanksgiving.

Chad tells Stephanie that he got all the food put up at Doug and Julie’s with a little of everything put aside for Kayla. Stephanie says it’s too bad that Kayla had to work as she missed a fun day which Chad laughs at. Stephanie admits it was a little awkward at times but feels it wasn’t that bad. Chad feels it wasn’t really a barrel of laughs either with Stephanie’s ex-boyfriend making eyes at her the whole time. Stephanie argues that Chad just imagined that and he was just trying to get to know Doug and Julie. Stephanie points out how sweet Everett was with the kids and how much they liked him. Stephanie tells Chad that after the initial weirdness, everyone enjoyed themselves very much. Stephanie asks where the kids are now. Chad says they asked to stay over so they are getting settled in their rooms. Chad suggests maybe that’s a good thing as maybe they could use some time alone since things have been very rocky between them lately. They get close until Everett walks in. Chad thought he left. Everett says he was just finishing his interview with Doug and Julie, calling them good people with fascinating lives so he hopes his piece on them does them justice. Chad suggests he go write it while it’s fresh in his mind. Everett says that’s the plan as he’s going to the Spectator office and he’s going to need Stephanie to come with him.

Xander has Thanksgiving dinner alone at home while doing the crossword in the Spectator. Sarah then shows up at his door with their baby Victoria and wishes him a happy Thanksgiving. Xander tells her that he obviously wasn’t expecting her. Sarah says they wanted to stop by and give him a little surprise which she calls hopefully something to be grateful for.

Alex and Theresa sit together in the town square. Alex calls it a really fun Thanksgiving. Theresa is glad he could join them. Alex tells her that her son is a good kid. Theresa talks about Tate being too busy to hang out with his mom outside of the holidays. Alex says it’s very obvious that Tate loves her. Theresa admits she’s really pleased with how Tate has adjusted to life in Salem. Theresa then asks Alex how he and Justin are. Alex says he’s still calling Justin “dad” even if he’s not his real father. Alex says it may be a little awkward but he’s a great guy and they love each other. Alex adds that Justin did invite him to Arizona to spend Thanksgiving with them and his brothers. Alex didn’t want to make everyone uncomfortable. Alex adds that maybe he should’ve gone as he knows family is important. Alex mentions that he should go check on Maggie as she and Sarah have to be completely shook. Alex can’t believe someone kidnapped Sarah’s baby.

Konstantin and Maggie sit together in the living room of the Kiriakis Mansion. Konstantin tells her about being grateful that she invited him to stay for the holidays. Maggie mentions her and Sarah being grateful to him. They talk about Thanksgiving in Greece and what Victor had told Maggie about. Konstantin tells Maggie about the stories of Greek Gods. Maggie mentions kidnapping hitting close to home. Konstantin thinks back to having Theresa kidnap Victoria. Maggie doesn’t know what she would’ve done if Konstantin hadn’t saved her granddaughter. Maggie repeats that Konstantin is a real hero. Konstantin responds that he’s not and declares that he’s done something truly terrible to her.

Chad questions if Everett can’t write the article himself. Everett responds that he can and will but since Leo has been charged with murder, he needs Stephanie’s help to draft the Spectator’s official response. Chad suggests just saying that Leo is getting exactly what he deserves. Chad argues that Leo and Dimitri drove Nicole off the road and they can draw a line from that to her baby’s death. Everett calls it a little more complicated than that since they didn’t deliberately drive Nicole off the road. Everett calls it an accident and says Leo helped deliver Nicole’s baby. Chad argues that he had no choice. Chad complains that if Leo and Dimitri hadn’t been fleeing from the police, EJ and Nicole’s baby would still be alive and shouts at Everett to stop making excuses for that son of a bitch. Chad asks if Stephanie is with him on this.

Sarah presents Xander with Victoria’s birth certificate, updated to say that Xander is her father. Sarah says it’s only right since Xander is the father and now it’s official. Xander thanks her and says it means a lot. Sarah wanted to show him how much she wants him to be a part of their daughter’s life. Sarah says she’s just so sorry that it took Victoria being kidnapped to realize that.

Alex tells Theresa that it boggles his mind how somebody could break in to the house in broad daylight and steal an innocent baby. Theresa says the good news is that she was found and returned safe. Alex credits Konstantin. Theresa says it was really fortune that he was there and able to find her. Alex feels now would be a good time to check in on Maggie. Theresa is surprised since things have been strained between them since Alex took over Titan. Alex admits that they have been but he feels that Victor would want him to check on Maggie and invites Theresa to come with him. Theresa thinks back to kidnapping Victoria and says she’s not sure that would be a good idea.

Maggie tells Konstantin that he hasn’t done anything terrible to her. Konstantin brings up kissing her and says it was very disrespectful to her and Victor. Maggie says everything is forgotten and fine. Konstantin disagrees and says she should’ve thrown him out and sent him packing, but instead she invited him to stay through Christmas. Maggie reminds him that he saved her granddaughter and that he’s been a comfort to her. Maggie calls him a good man and says one lapse in judgment doesn’t change that.

Kayla and Steve tell Joey on the phone that next Thanksgiving they will all be together as they hang up. They talk about missing Joey but being glad that he’s doing. Kayla says she’s so glad Steve is back as they kiss. Kayla asks about Greece and if he and John were able to uncover any new information about Konstantin. Steve reveals that they were and it looks like Konstantin has an allergy to the truth.

Stephanie tells Chad that she’s not a fan of Leo either and she’s not defending him, but Everett hired her to defend the reputation of the newspaper which means doing damage control on a very dicey situation. Chad questions if that means ignoring that Leo was at least partly responsible for the death of a newborn and complains that EJ and Nicole are going through Hell right now. Stephanie says they respect that but hopes that he can also respect that this is part of her job. Chad questions Stephanie really having to go when it’s Thanksgiving. Everett points out that they need to issue a statement for tomorrow’s paper so they can’t really kick it down the road. Stephanie says they can’t put this off but she’ll be home as quick as she can. Chad says no problem as Stephanie then leaves with Everett.

Kayla tells Steve that he already confronted Konstantin about the table cloth. Steve says he had all sorts of excuses for why he lied to Maggie but he and John found out that he’s been lying about a lot more than that. Steve says that Konstantin said that Victor loaned him the money to start his restaurant and refused to let him pay him back which Kayla notes doesn’t sound like Victor. Steve confirms that they interviewed some locals who confirmed that Victor loaned Konstantin the money, but expected to be paid back, and when Konstantin started having trouble making some of the payments, it caused a big rift between them. Kayla questions why Konstantin would lie about that.

Konstantin comments to Maggie that Thanksgiving is an interesting tradition. Maggie talks about usually having more family but she didn’t feel in the mood this year without Victor, but if she did, she would’ve said she’s grateful to Konstantin. Maggie repeats that he’s been a source of comfort to her and she was always be in debt for saving Victoria. Konstantin says he did what anyone would’ve done. Maggie points out that he could’ve been killed and she’s just sorry that the kidnapper got away, so she prays the police catch them soon.

Alex questions Theresa not wanting to visit Maggie as he thought they were close. Theresa says that they are and that Maggie encouraged her to go to AA a couple years ago. Theresa claims that she doesn’t want to intrude on his family moment. Alex promises that she won’t be and that she’d be doing him a huge favor. Theresa then agrees to go with him. Theresa guesses she should check in on Maggie anyway since she really owes her one.

Xander holds Victoria and tells Sarah that he’s so glad she’s alright. Sarah mentions that Maggie increased security around the Kiriakis Mansion. Xander says he will make sure his apartment is secured for when Victoria stays the night. Sarah talks about having Justin draw up papers for shared custody to make it official. Xander tells Sarah that he really is looking forward to co-parenting with her. Sarah responds that she’s glad it’s all working out. Sarah adds that maybe someday. Xander asks maybe someday what?

Kayla suggests maybe Konstantin lied because he didn’t want to paint Victor in a bad light to his grieving widow while trying to cheer Maggie up. Steve doesn’t buy what Konstantin claims because all the little white lies are starting to add up, not to mention the bigger lie that Konstantin worshipped Victor and that they were best friends. Steve states that from what he and John learned from the people in Greece, he thinks Victor and Konstantin were actually enemies.

Alex and Theresa go to the Kiriakis Mansion. Maggie tells Theresa that she’s so glad to see her since they haven’t had a chance to catch up since Victor’s funeral. Theresa apologizes for not being better at keeping in touch with her and says she heard about what happened with Sarah’s baby, so she’s really sorry she went through that. Alex asks if they are okay now. Maggie admits she’s still a little shaken but the important thing is that Victoria is just fine and returned to them unharmed, thanks to Konstantin. Alex tells Konstantin that it’s good to see him again and introduces him to Theresa. Konstantin responds that they actually already know each other which Maggie questions.

Xander puts Victoria back in her stroller and asks if Sarah is saying she wants to get back together. Sarah stutters but admits she’s open to the possibility and assumes that he is too since they almost kissed yesterday. Xander can’t deny there’s still more than a spark but he wasn’t sure if there was too much water under the bridge. Sarah acknowledges that they’ve both done things to hurt each other that they regret and are now in a much better place obviously. Sarah adds that they do share a child, so maybe it’s something they should think about. Xander states that he has his thinking cap on as they speak. They get close again but Sarah says she has to get to work and drop Victoria back at home. Xander thanks her very much for the birth certificate and for the visit. Sarah then opens the door to leave right as Chad arrives. Chad apologizes if he’s interrupting but Sarah says she was just leaving. Chad comments on Victoria being beautiful and says it feels like just yesterday when his daughter Charlotte was that tiny and it goes too fast. Sarah tells Xander that she’s really glad she came and wishes Chad a happy Thanksgiving as she then exits. Xander assumes Chad is here to talk about the Spectator but he hasn’t changed his mind about selling to him. Chad then reveals that he ended up buying Gwen’s half instead, so he calls Xander his partner.

Everett and Stephanie to go to work at the Spectator. Stephanie tells Everett that they need to emphasize how terrible Dimitri and Leo feel and how they risked their freedom to help a woman in need, but then decides that’s too much and to start over. Stephanie points out that if it wasn’t for them, Nicole would’ve been alone when she went in to labor. Everett calls Stephanie brilliant and says he’s so lucky to have her talent in helping him on this. Everett notes his laptop’s battery going low and asks Stephanie to get the charger from his bag. Stephanie goes to get it but finds a ring box instead.

Theresa tells Konstantin that he must be confusing her with someone else because they’ve never met. Konstantin claims that they met in the town square when she gave him directions and he was very grateful. Theresa then claims she does remember now. Alex asks how long Konstantin plans to stay in Salem. Konstantin informs him that Maggie has asked him to stay through Christmas, but he has fallen for the town so he may never leave.

Kayla thinks Konstantin and Victor being enemies is a bit of a stretch. Steve says he’s just going by what he’s been hearing and he finds it strange that Konstantin inserted himself in to Maggie’s life while he owed Victor all that money. Steve thinks they should at least warn Maggie that Konstantin is not being honest with her. Kayla asks if he really thinks that’s a good idea when Konstantin has been a great comfort to Maggie and it just seems cruel to take that away from her. Steve feels he’s 90% sure. Kayla suggests instead mentioning to her family that he has suspicions and they can keep an eye on things. Sarah then enters and says she hopes she’s not interrupting. Steve says it’s actually perfect timing.

Xander questions Gwen selling Chad her half of the Spectator. Chad confirms the contracts were signed this morning. Xander notes that Gwen didn’t say anything to him but remembers that Chad didn’t want Stephanie to find out that he’s trying to fire Everett. Xander points out that they would be 50/50 partners, so Chad can’t force him to fire his new editor-in-chief. Chad asks why he’s so protective of Everett. Xander responds that he’s great at his job, so he can’t afford to lose him. Chad offers to make it worth his while.

Stephanie asks Everett about the ring box. Everett tries to claim that it’s a case for his contact lenses but Stephanie opens it and sees the engagement ring inside. Stephanie questions why he has it. Everett then admits he bought it a long time ago, before the accident. Stephanie asks if it was for her and if he was going to ask her to marry him. Everett confirms that he was going to propose before the accident. Everett adds that he knows they were only starting to get serious and maybe it was too soon, but he knew in his heart that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her and he felt the same way when he woke up from the coma which he told her on his first night in Salem. Stephanie asks if he had the ring with him that night. Everett confirms that he did, but then she told him that she was with Chad and that obviously changed things. Everett remarks that he probably should’ve sold it and mentions all his medical bills but he couldn’t bring himself to do it. Stephanie tells him that she’s so sorry but Everett says she had every right to move on with her life. Everett wishes she hadn’t found the ring and suggests they just get back to finishing work, so she can get home to Chad.

Xander tells Chad again that he’s not interested in selling him his half of the paper. Chad says he’s made that clear and can keep it. Chad then offers to give Xander his half of the profits, so he’ll be a silent partner and Xander will reap all the rewards. Xander argues that he can’t be serious. Chad states that he didn’t buy the paper from Gwen for money, he did it to get rid of Everett as a pesky problem. Xander argues that Everett hasn’t been a pesky problem to him and if he gets rid of him, the paper will suffer or maybe even going under. Chad argues that he’s not the only man on earth who can keep it running. Chad points out that Xander would get to double his money and all he has to do is fire Everett and keep his name out of it. Chad feels it sounds like a no brainer.

Steve informs Sarah of Konstantin’s lies about the table cloth and says he knows they aren’t huge lies and there are reasonable explanations but he sees it as reason to be concerned. Sarah feels that Konstantin was just trying to make Maggie feel better and cheer her up. Kayla agrees but suggests Sarah keep an eye on things to make sure Konstantin isn’t lying about anything else. Sarah admits that she had her doubts about Konstantin as well as she thought he was overstaying his welcome and that Maggie was relying on him too much, but she’s come to see him as one of the good guys and a hero. Kayla asks why she’d say that. Sarah reveals that yesterday, he saved her daughter from a kidnapper which Steve questions.

Alex asks if the cops have any leads on the kidnappers. Maggie says no as she’s afraid they don’t have much to go on. Konstantin says he didn’t get a good look either but he assumed it was a man. Alex questions what the kidnapper’s motive was. Konstantin supposes it was money. Maggie says they think they were going to try to ransom the baby back to them. Maggie asks if she can get them tea. Theresa says that sounds great so Alex goes to help Maggie in the kitchen. Theresa then questions what Konstantin’s problem is.

Stephanie goes home to Chad, who asks how it went at the paper. Stephanie thinks that she and Everett put together a pretty good defense of Leo, noting that they had to get creative but they worked well together. Stephanie notes that she knows that isn’t what he wants to hear. Chad says it’s fine and she has to do what she has to do for her clients. Stephanie asks even if the client is Everett. Chad knows he was hard on Everett but promises to give him a chance.

Xander goes to the Spectator where Everett is finishing up the response to Leo’s murder charges and asks if he wants to take a look at it before it’s sent to the printer. Xander tells him to actually stop for now. Everett questions if he’s having second thoughts about defending Leo. Xander responds that it’s not about Leo, but about Everett. Xander informs Everett that he’s sorry but he’s going to have to let him go.

Kayla tells Sarah that she’s so sorry about the kidnapping. Sarah admits it was terrifying, but fortunately, Konstantin caught the kidnapper and rescued her daughter, risking his life to save her. Steve remarks that it sounds like he was at the right place at the right time, feeling it was too convenient. Sarah asks what he’s saying. Kayla points out that Konstantin was knocked out on the floor. Sarah adds that Maggie did see the kidnapper from behind so Konstantin couldn’t have made that up. Steve suggests Konstantin had an accomplice and partner in crime.

Konstantin comments that Theresa seems upset. Theresa complains that he almost blew their connection by telling Alex and Maggie that they knew each other. Konstantin tells her to lighten up as he’s just having a little fun with her. Theresa argues that there is nothing fun about this and she can’t watch him sucking up to Maggie while she has no idea that he’s just after her money. Theresa says the whole thing is making her sick. Konstantin argues that she’s doing the exact same thing. Alex comes back in to the room as Konstantin tells Theresa that they both know she’s only after Alex to get her hands on his inheritance.

Outside the Brady Pub, Eric questions Nicole saying she wants to hold his baby. Nicole explains that she thought maybe holding him might bring her a little solace. Eric is unsure, so Nicole says nevermind. Nicole says that Eric is just getting to know the baby and she shouldn’t have asked. Eric then tells her it’s okay and that she can hold him.

Inside the Pub, EJ remarks on Rafe eating alone. Rafe tells EJ that he heard about what happened to him and Nicole and he’s so sorry for his loss. EJ doesn’t want his condolences, he wants him to find the bastard who ran his wife off the road.

Dimitri shows up at Sloan’s apartment. Sloan questions what he’s doing there, reminding him that he’s a fugitive and she thought he was leaving town. Dimitri responds that he thought she was helping Leo. Sloan says that she is. Dimitri questions why he just heard that Leo is being charged with murder then. Dimitri thinks they both know that if anyone should be facing those charges, it’s her.

In the interrogation room, Harris asks Leo if his lawyer is on her way. Leo responds that she’s unfortunately not as she was otherwise engaged. Leo insists that she will be there though and prove he had nothing to do with the untimely demise of the baby. Leo argues that he instead brought the baby in to the world and feels proud, but now heartbroken. Harris blames Leo and Dimitri. Leo tells Harris to leave so he can mourn and wallow in self pity. Harris then exits the room. Jada tells Harris that she just heard about what happened to Gil and asks how Ava is. Harris responds that Ava will be okay as long as EJ doesn’t drop the hammer on her. Jada worries based on how EJ feels about Ava. Harris mentions missing his keys and asks if Jada has seen them.

Stefan asks Ava how she wants to decide who breaks in to the interrogation room. Ava refuses to do it. Stefan points out that he made a copy of the keys while Ava argues that she’s the one who swiped the keys which is riskier. Stefan argues that he’s the one on security footage. Stefan states that neither of them want to do this. Ava points out that one of them has to do it or else Clyde will be very unhappy. Stefan then gets an idea and suggests letting Mr. “I can’t tell a lie” decide for them.

Jada asks Harris if he lost his keys. Harris says he’s sure they’ll turn up. Jada suggests finding them sooner than later as she asks if he made any progress with Leo. Harris responds that he was having trouble tracking down his lawyer, so he figured he’d leave him in the interrogation room for awhile and maybe he’ll decide to make a deal. Jada asks to take a crack at him so she heads in to the interrogation room.

Rafe assures EJ that the department wants Dimitri found just as badly as he does and he has his best detectives on the case. EJ comments on Rafe sitting here enjoying his dinner. Rafe brings up EJ’s family resources and says there’s a pretty big chance that Dimitri is off in the Caribbean. EJ doesn’t care and wants him found. EJ declares that when he is found, he’s going to throw the book at Dimitri and Leo. Rafe mentions hearing the pretty steep charge. EJ asks if he takes issue with how he prosecutes criminals. Rafe points out that he’s an alleged criminal and in this case, he does not take issue but he is curious what EJ plans to do with Ava Vitali.

Ava questions Stefan deciding who breaks in to the evidence room by flipping a coin. Stefan says it’s better than rock, paper, scissors so they go with it. Ava calls heads and flips the coin.

Sloan questions Dimitri thinking she should be charged with murder and asks what he’s talking about. Dimitri reminds her how he stopped by a couple days ago with a premature, healthy baby boy in his arms and she assured him that he would be delivered to the hospital, but now he’s hearing that baby is dead. Dimitri knows there was no love lost between her and Nicole but questions if she despises her that much. Sloan asks if he thinks he killed Nicole’s baby. Dimitri asks if she didn’t. Sloan assures that she did not and that Nicole’s baby was born prematurely on the side of a road after a car crash so the baby wasn’t doing well. Sloan claims she did take it to the hospital but it was too late and the baby didn’t stand a chance. Dimitri asks why Nicole’s son is dead, but Sloan’s apartment looked like she ransacked the baby department.

Nicole holds Eric’s baby and calls him so beautiful. Nicole then questions how this could be and declares this is her baby.

Ava goes to the police station and sees Harris, who says he wasn’t expecting to see her again today and asks if everything is okay. Ava says everything is fine and that she just stopped by because she has something for him.

Rafe informs EJ that they just got forensics back and their team found fibers underneath Gil’s fingernails consistent with those from Ava’s blouse which lends credence to Ava’s story that he attacked her. EJ questions if he doesn’t think Ava is clever enough to falsify evidence. Rafe admits it’s possible but asks why she would, pointing out that she had no motive to kill Gil other than self defense. EJ decides that if Rafe is satisfied with Ava’s statement and the evidence, then he sees no reason to press charges. Rafe agrees. EJ says now he must tend to his wife while Rafe must find the bastard who killed his son. EJ then takes his food and exits the Pub.

Jada confronts Leo in the interrogation room and tells him to cut the crap as she heard he’s up for felony murder charges for the death of Nicole’s baby. Jada calls it no laughing matter. Leo calls it disturbing that the district attorney happens to be Nicole’s husband. Jada tells Leo that she could make the charges go away which Leo questions. Jada says all he has to do is throw his boyfriend under the bus.

Sloan tells Dimitri that this is all for her baby as Melinda has been helping her and Eric in the adoption process which is why she was there when he showed up the other day. Sloan says they just received their baby today and he’s out with Eric right now. Dimitri questions the baby being a boy which Sloan confirms. Dimitri congratulates her but goes over that a few days ago, he left her with a perfectly healthy baby boy, who then suddenly somehow dies and then she finds herself the recipient of a perfectly healthy baby boy who seems to have been born at the exact same time as the baby he left with her days earlier. Dimitri asks how stupid she thinks he is. Dimitri accuses her of taking the baby for herself.

Eric asks what Nicole means. Nicole repeats that this is her baby. Eric says he can’t even begin to imagine the kind of pain that she’s in right now, but this isn’t her baby. Nicole thinks back to holding her baby after giving birth. Nicole tells Eric that right after he was born, Leo put him in her arms and she’ll never forget his face. Nicole declares that this is the baby that she gave birth to and this is her son.

Harris questions what Ava has for him. Ava brought him food since he’s stuck at work all night. Harris thanks her and says the station gets so crazy sometimes that he forgets to eat. Harris adds that it’s no wonder he lost his keys and jokes that he’d lose his head too.

Stefan breaks in to the police evidence room.

Leo questions Jada wanting him to throw the love of his life under the bus. Jada offers him the phone to call Dimitri and say he’d like to meet up. Leo guesses that when Dimitri shows up, she and another cop show up to arrest him. Leo refuses to do it. Jada argues that there’s no reason that a man like Leo should be cooling his heels in a stuffy room like this, especially since he’s not the one they want. Jada says they want the big fish and that it might seem like they are partners in crime but that Dimitri is the criminal mastermind. Jada brings up that Dimitri tried to kill Stefan and Gabi, assaulted a police officer, and was the one who drove the car that ran Nicole off the road. Jada tells Leo to call Dimitri and he can be out in time for Thanksgiving dinner.

Sloan tells Dimitri that she did not take Nicole’s baby and that it is possible for two babies to be born on the same day. Sloan presumes that it’s possible that thousands of babies are born on the same day. Dimitri says they are talking about the baby he brought to her on the same day that she’s claiming the baby died. Dimitri doesn’t care if EJ and Nicole get to raise the baby as he cares about Leo going down for the murder of a baby who is still very much alive. Dimitri decides he’s going to call the police department to get this mess sorted out but Sloan stops him.

EJ exits the Brady Pub to find Nicole and Eric with the baby. Eric informs EJ that he and Sloan adopted this baby today while Nicole swears that he is her baby. EJ tells Nicole that the baby isn’t their baby. Nicole insists and repeats that she cradled him after the accident just like this and she saw him and that she would never forget his face anywhere. Nicole cries that this is their boy. EJ wishes that it was and says he’d give anything for it to be their baby but it’s not. EJ states that this baby is Eric and Sloan’s as they adopted him today and it’s time to give him back to his father.

Harris finishes a call with Rafe, saying that’s great news. Ava asks what’s going on. Harris informs her that it’s about her. Harris then announces that EJ has decided not to charge her in Gil Carter’s death. Ava is shocked and hugs Harris, thanking him. Ava declares that she has to go tell Tripp. Ava tells Harris not to work too hard and rushes out of the police station.

Nicole reluctantly hands the baby back to Eric and cries that she’s sorry, guessing her mind is just playing tricks on her and she wanted it to be true. Nicole apologizes to Eric. He says it’s okay but she says it’s not. Nicole says she should’ve been happy for Eric and repeats that she’s sorry. EJ says that’s enough apologies as she’s been through more than most people could handle in the last few days. Eric assures that he understands. EJ tells Nicole that he will take her home and they walk away together. Rafe then comes out from the Pub and sees Eric with the baby. Rafe asks if everything is okay. Eric claims everything is fine but Rafe says it doesn’t seem that way. Eric then admits that Nicole seemed to think that this was her baby.

Sloan tells Dimitri not to call the cops. Dimitri asks if she’s admitting that the baby is in fact Nicole’s. Sloan then admits that he is. Sloan says she didn’t plan to take him. Dimitri remarks that he used that line in shoplifting at the mall. Sloan argues that this isn’t funny. Dimitri says saying she didn’t plan it doesn’t exonerate her. Sloan argues that it’s not like that. Sloan explains that she and Eric have been planning for awhile to adopt a baby and right when they were about to get a child, Melinda said the mother changed her mind because of Sloan’s reputation and the mother didn’t think she was fit to be a parent. Sloan explains that she thought if a parent could find out the truth about her, they all could and that’s when she realized that her being a mother was going to be an uphill battle that she would quite possibly lose. Sloan says that then Dimitri showed up at her door with the baby in his arms. Dimitri asks if she thought “finders keepers” and tells her no. Dimitri realizes that’s why she agreed to help Leo since she knew that was the only way to get him out of town and if he was out of town, he’d never figure out her nefarious plot. Sloan argues that she agreed to help and that’s all he cares about while Dimitri complains about Sloan only wanting to play mommy to someone else’s kid being the only reason that Leo is in this mess. Dimitri says that Sloan has no conscience to do something so underhanded and criminal. Dimitri declares that Sloan is going to have to get the charges against Leo dropped or else he’s going to sing like a canary.

Jada warns Leo that if he doesn’t call Dimitri in the next five minutes, he will have no choice and the deal will be off. Leo complains that she’s asking him to betray someone he loves and cares about. Jada knows Leo thinks he’s deeply in love with Dimitri and that love can sometimes be blinding to the other person’s failings. Jada calls Dimitri a disgusting dirtbag which Leo argues is not helping her case. Jada questions if Dimitri is even capable of love, calling him a sociopath and psychopath. Jada asks if Dimitri even cares about Leo, pointing out that he left him holding the bag. Jada warns Leo that he’s going to hate a prison cell and EJ is out for blood, so the question is does he want it to be his. Jada gets a text and says she has to take care of something. Jada tells Leo that she expects an answer when she returns as she then exits the room.

Stefan searches through the evidence room until he hears someone coming and hides. Jada then enters the room on the phone and says she’s there now, so she asks what they are looking for again.

Rafe congratulates Eric on his new baby. Eric says he was just a little rattled which Rafe calls understandable since Nicole thinking it was her baby is really sad. Rafe still can’t believe Nicole’s baby didn’t make it. Eric brings up that EJ said their son was accidentally cremated, so they never got a chance to really say goodbye to their baby.

EJ brings Nicole home to the DiMera Mansion and says he will run her a bath and put on classical music so she can relax. Nicole tells EJ that she was so sure about the baby being her baby. EJ doesn’t think it’s surprising after what she’s been through. EJ calls it unimaginable trauma combined with the grief they both feel. EJ says her mind was just playing tricks on her. Nicole knows she said that, but the more she thinks about it, the baby’s face just looked like the baby she gave birth to and it was the way she felt when she held him. EJ points out that she had just been hurt in a terrible accident and she was still dazed when he got there. Nicole cries and asks EJ to just hold her so he does.

Sloan tells Dimitri that she will find a way to get Leo out of this mess but he has to get out of here before Eric comes home and sees him. Dimitri insists they shake hands on it, so they do. Dimitri then stops and mentions that he’s a little short on cash. Sloan calls him unbelievable and hands him cash, telling him to take it and get out. Dimitri says it was a pleasure doing business with her. Dimitri recommends she use every trick in the book to get Leo out fast, or else her whole baby switching scheme will be the biggest news of the century and her whole family dream will blow up in her face. Dimitri then exits.

Jada finds the file she was looking for in the evidence room on a Terrance Smith and then leaves while Stefan hides behind the desk.

Jada returns to Leo in the interrogation room and asks if he’s going to call Dimitri to give them the big fish so he can swim away free. Leo responds that he thought about it and he’s not calling anyone. Leo declares that he can’t and won’t betray the man he loves.

Dimitri returns to his motel room and declares that he’s going to get Leo out of this mess if it’s the last thing he does.

Stefan and Ava meet outside the Pub. Stefan informs Ava that he got the evidence but they have to find somewhere to offload it. Stefan adds that he was this close to getting caught and asks how it went on Ava’s end. Ava says she made sure that Harris will get his keys back as that was the easy part but it was slightly harder lying to his face.

Rafe returns to the police station and tells Harris that he was just looking for him as someone from the Sgt’s desk found his keys downstairs and he recognized the key ring. Harris thanks him and says he was looking all over but he didn’t remember leaving them there. Rafe suggests he dropped them somewhere and exits while Harris looks confused.

Eric goes home with his baby to Sloan. They talk about the baby doing so good. Eric then tells her that he ran in to Nicole and she had just gotten released from the hospital, so when she saw the baby, she said that it was her baby.

EJ guesses Nicole isn’t hungry so he will put her sliders in the fridge for later and says he will make her tea as he heads to the kitchen.

Sloan tells Eric that doesn’t make any sense for Nicole to think their baby was her baby. Eric says she was obviously overwhelmed with grief. Sloan asks what Eric did or said. Eric explains that EJ showed up and they managed to convince Nicole that the baby was not her baby.

Nicole sits at home and thinks back to holding her baby after giving birth and then holding Eric’s baby. Nicole doesn’t care what anybody says and declares that she knows that was her baby.

Ava is at home and listens to a voicemail from Harris, wishing her a Happy Thanksgiving and saying he’s grateful that she’s not spending it at the police station. Harris mentions that he can’t find his work keys and asks if Ava saw them while she was there. Ava looks down at the keys. Harris ends his message, saying he’s sure the keys will turn up and he hopes they can talk later. Ava then picks up the keys and Stefan shows up at her door.

Sloan calls Melinda for an update on the baby. Melinda is sure that Sloan is excited to soon be holding her baby in her arms. Sloan responds that she is excited, but also terrified. Melinda encourages her to stop with all the doubts and guilt since everything is going really smoothly. Melinda reminds her that all she has to do is keep her mouth shut. Sloan asks what if when the baby gets older, he starts to look like Eric and Nicole and they start to suspect that he’s their biological son.

EJ visits Nicole in the hospital and comments on the Thanksgiving menu at the hospital being limited. EJ then informs Nicole that she’s being discharged today but Nicole has no reaction. EJ shows her that he brought her a bag of her clothes. Nicole notes the bag is the bag that she packed with baby items for when she went in to labor. Dr. Pierce enters the room and informs them that the autopsy was just completed so he asks to speak to EJ outside but Nicole argues that she needs to know what happened to their son. Dr. Pierce claims his death was the result of injuries from the car accident. Nicole doesn’t understand since he was perfectly fine after giving birth. Dr. Pierce says sometimes the damage is delayed with internal trauma. EJ argues that Dimitri is the one who caused the accident and that Leo will pay for this.

Harris confronts Leo in the interrogation room. Leo asks if he’s being let go but Harris says that’s not going to happen. Harris informs Leo that EJ plans to charge him with murder.

EJ tells Dr. Pierce about Leo being a passenger in the vehicle that struck Nicole’s. EJ informs Dr. Pierce that he should be prepared to testify that the vehicle caused his son’s death. Dr. Pierce says he’ll do whatever he can to help. Nicole stops and says she wants to see their son.

Leo asks Harris whose murder EJ plans on charging him with. Harris informs Leo that it’s EJ’s son. Leo asks if he means Johnny. Harris clarifies that he’s talking about Nicole’s baby. Leo questions Nicole’s baby dying and says that can’t be. Leo asks what happened to the beautiful little boy.

Melinda tells Sloan to stop fast forwarding to the future as the baby won’t be a clone of Nicole or Eric and everyone will accept that he is Sloan and Eric’s adopted kid. Sloan agrees to stop but asks what about now, worrying that people will ask questions. Sloan reminds her that Dimitri and Leo saw Nicole’s baby and know he’s healthy. Melinda explains that Dr. Pierce is telling EJ and Nicole that the baby died from internal injuries that nobody could have predicted. Sloan feels this is so dark and asks how she can be so matter of fact about. Melinda argues that she’s being practical and Sloan needs to be too. Melinda reminds Sloan that she wanted to give Eric a baby so that’s what she’s helping her do. Melinda tells Sloan that this should be the happiest Thanksgiving of her life. Sloan agrees and says she wanted to give Eric a baby and raise a child with him, but she never thought it would happen like this as Eric then comes home.

Nicole repeats to Dr. Pierce that she wants to see their baby before going home. Dr. Pierce doesn’t think that’s wise but Nicole doesn’t care, complaining that her baby was taken from her before she could hold him again. Nicole insists on holding her son one last time. Dr. Pierce asks EJ to back him up that this isn’t a good idea but EJ says he heard his wife and demands he bring them their son. Dr. Pierce thinks back to Melinda telling him to figure something out. Dr. Pierce then tells EJ and Nicole that he will arrange it right away and exits the room.

Ava asks if Stefan came to see Wendy but Stefan says he came to see Ava. Ava asks why. Stefan says they are practically family since she was engaged to his late twin brother, Jake and pretended to be married to him which Ava reminds was Gabi’s idea. Stefan says that Gabi is actually why he’s here. Stefan says he heard about her unfortunate incident with Gil. Ava calls Gil a disgusting pig and says she’s glad he’s dead. Stefan says he can’t say the same because now that Gil is dead, she needs a new business partner and unfortunately that’s him. Ava asks if he bought the Bistro. Stefan responds that it has nothing to do with the restaurant business but everything to do with the business she was running under Gil for Clyde. Ava claims to not know what he’s talking about but Stefan reveals that Clyde told him all about how he strong armed her into running his drug operation by threatening the life of her son and now he’s doing the same to him, by threatening Gabi. Stefan complains that Gabi is a sitting duck in prison and Clyde has made it clear that he will not hesitate to have Gabi killed if he doesn’t play ball, so he and Ava are working together whether they like it or not.

Leo tells Harris about how he delivered Nicole’s baby. Leo asks how he could have died. Harris responds that they believe it was internal injuries from the crash. Leo argues that he didn’t have anything to do with that and he’s the one who brought the baby in to the world. Harris blames the delay in getting him medical treatment that resulted in death. Leo doesn’t understand and questions what the delay was. Harris says if Dimitri ever turns up, they can find out but since Dimitri and Leo fled the jurisdiction in Jada’s stolen car, they can be charged with felony murder. Leo responds that he needs to speak to his lawyer.

Sloan tells Eric that she was just telling Melinda how she never thought she’d be a parent this way. Melinda encourages Sloan that when she holds her new baby in her arms, all of her worries and guilt will be behind her as she’ll be too busy being a mom to think about anything else. Sloan thanks Melinda for everything and hangs up. Eric asks if Melinda said when they will bring home their baby. Sloan reveals that Melinda is on her way with him right now which excites Eric. Eric congratulates Sloan, who says it feels amazing because she’s going to be a mother to Eric’s baby. Eric says this is really happening. Sloan says even though she’s never been the maternal type, she’s fallen more in love with Eric because she’s realized there’s nothing she wants more than to have a family with him even if she’s not the biological mother. Eric states that all that matter is that he is their baby to love with all their hearts.

Nicole tells EJ that she understands if he doesn’t want to do this, because it’s going to be really hard to see their son, but says she needs to hold him one last time. EJ responds that he understands. Nicole points out that EJ never had the chance to hold him and he should have. Nicole says she’s so sorry it has to be this way.

Dr. Pierce goes to see Melinda and tells her that just as he feared, they want to see the baby. He says he tried to talk them out of it but they insisted. He worries that if they start asking questions, it will become very clear that no baby was brought in to the ER that night. He asks what they are supposed to do. Melinda argues that he took the money so he can figure it out. He complains that this was her idea. Melinda points out that he didn’t walk away, which he regrets. Dr. Pierce warns that if he goes down, Melinda is going down with him. Melinda guesses it’s up to her since he can’t come up with a way to present their dead baby. He warns her to come up with something right now because they are expecting him to walk in any minute with the remains of their dead baby boy. Melinda responds that he won’t have to because she has a brilliant idea.

Stefan explains to Ava that Clyde wants him to use DiMera Enterprises to ship drugs through the Bistro which is where Ava comes in. Ava mentions her and Gil not getting that far before she shot him and asks if he’s sure he wants to be her partner. Stefan says he has no choice. Stefan brings up that Clyde mentioned something about needing to get in to the evidence room at the police station. Ava confirms that Clyde had her take the keys off Harris. Stefan says he will take the keys, copy them, and bring them back. Ava question how she knows she can trust him. Stefan asks if she has an alternative. Stefan states that he takes Clyde’s threats very seriously and he’s not going to let him or his goons lay a hand on his wife. Stefan declares that for the foreseeable future, he and Ava are going to have to keep the ones they love very close and safe. Stefan adds that he won’t let Clyde use him like this for very long. Ava says she’ll make sure to let him know if she figures a way out before he does. Stefan thanks her and then goes to leave right as Harris arrives.

Eric tells Sloan that he’s so happy that they are having a baby that he wants the whole world to know. Sloan asks what’s stopping him. Eric says he just wants to wait for the right time. Sloan asks if now isn’t the right time. Eric points out them becoming parents on the heels of a terrible tragedy for Nicole. Sloan gets a call from Leo, who complains that Harris just told him that he’s being charged with felony murder. Leo says Nicole’s baby dying is awful but not his fault. Leo tells Sloan that he needs her to get there now. Sloan says she’ll be in touch and will help him fight the charges, but she has to go right now. Leo argues that he needs to hear her strategy and she only has one phone call. Sloan hangs up as there’s a knock at the door. Eric excitedly answers the door to see Melinda with the baby. Melinda wishes them a Happy Thanksgiving.

EJ returns to Nicole’s room after she has gotten dressed to leave the hospital. EJ tells her that the doctor will be there soon with their baby and then they can go home. EJ adds that Holly will be happy to see her. Nicole hopes Holly can forgive her for snapping at her when she came to visit earlier. Nicole feels she was insensitive when Holly lost her little brother. EJ assures that she will understand. Nicole says she’s grateful to have Holly. Dr. Pierce then returns to the room. Nicole questions where their son is. He responds that he’s afraid it’s not possible for them to see him because their baby was accidentally cremated, shocking EJ and Nicole.

Ava tells Harris that it’s good to see him. Harris says he just stopped by during his break to see how Ava is doing. Stefan claims that he stopped by to see Tripp and Wendy to let them know again that they were mistaken by what they saw on the night that Li died. Harris calls that witness tampering. Stefan argues that his wife is locked up in prison, awaiting trial for a murder she didn’t commit, so he’s out doing everything he can to see that she goes free. Ava tells Stefan that he will have to come back another time since Tripp and Wendy aren’t home. Stefan tells Harris again that Gabi is innocent and that he should be out there trying to find Li’s real killer. Harris points out that the district attorney thinks they already have. Stefan argues that EJ is a pompous ass, biased, and wrong as he then exits the apartment. Ava comments on Stefan being upset about his wife. Ava says that’s enough about him and she’s glad Harris came by. Harris asks how she’s been and if she got his message, admitting he got a little worried when he didn’t hear back. Ava tells him that she was just about to call back when Stefan knocked on the door. Harris asks if it’s hard for her to be back in the apartment after what happened to Gil. Ava admits it is a little but it’s better than spending the night in lockup. Ava thanks Harris for putting in a good word with Rafe since she knows how much Rafe hates her, so she’s grateful that he listened to him. Harris calls Rafe a fair guy and says he believes him, so when forensics backs her up, her story will be proven. Ava guesses EJ will have no choice but to drop the charges. Harris notes that EJ is pretty preoccupied with his son’s death. Ava calls that terribly sad. Harris can’t imagine what they are going through. Ava calls it heartbreaking and asks if he wants a coffee or tea. Harris says he has to get back to the station and then brings up his keys as he asks if Ava remembers seeing them.

Leo remains in the interrogation room and thinks back to telling Dimitri that he’d meet him in the park behind the hospital after delivering Nicole’s baby. Leo states that he misses Dimitri and wishes he could tell him what the hell happened to the baby.

EJ questions Dr. Pierce about their son being accidentally cremated. Nicole shouts at him, asking how he could let this happen. Dr. Pierce says he’s afraid their son’s body was mislabeled and he’s sorry. EJ calls it a travesty and asks how anyone could make such a horrible, heartbreaking mistake and why he wasn’t there to stop it. Dr. Pierce says it was done without his knowledge, but he’ll arrange to have the ashes sent to them as soon as possible. Nicole yells at him to get out so he exits. Nicole then breaks down crying and tells EJ that she’s so sorry that he never got to hold their baby. EJ cries that they will just have to hold him in their hearts now as they hug.

Melinda asks Sloan and Eric if they are ready to hold their baby for the very first time. Eric thinks Sloan should go first so Melinda hands the baby over to Sloan. Melinda says she will leave them to bond with their son. Eric thanks her. Melinda says it was her pleasure to help a friend make this happen and she’s so glad everything worked out. Melinda then exits. Sloan and Eric try to figure out why the baby is crying. Sloan suggests she’ll make a bottle to see if that works and then hands the baby to Eric, which stops his crying. Eric tells the baby that he’s his daddy and he loves him with all his heart.

Ava claims to Harris that she doesn’t remember seeing his keys. Harris says he’s sure they will turn up. Harris is sorry they can’t spend Thanksgiving together since he has to pay his dues and work the holiday. Ava tells him how thankful she is for him and kisses him.

Melinda goes back to her room and packs her bag. Dr. Pierce shows up at her door again. Melinda asks if EJ and Nicole bought his story. He confirms that they did and says it was brutal which is why he needs more money. Melinda questions him extorting her. Dr. Pierce remarks that she could report him to the new district attorney, but he’s the one who said heads would roll over the loss of his son.

EJ tells Nicole that he’s so sorry that this happened and he will see to it that whoever is responsible will be relieved of their duties, but Nicole asks him not to and says she doesn’t care because there’s nothing anyone can do to fix this. Nicole says when she said she wanted to hold her son one last time, she really wanted to hold him, see him smile, and hear him cry but no one can make that happen. EJ hugs Nicole as she cries. Nicole tells EJ to just take her home, so they exit together.

Eric calls the baby perfect. Sloan wonders if he’s not hungry then. Eric thinks the baby is settled down now and asks if Sloan wants to hold him again. Eric hands him over to Sloan and he starts crying again. Sloan worries that she has no idea what she’s doing. Eric says he doesn’t either so the baby will have to be patient with them both. Eric suggests taking the baby for a walk in his new stroller but Sloan wants to stay home to arrange his clothes and wait on a delivery. Eric promises that Sloan is a natural and will be perfect at this. Eric thanks Sloan for making all of this happen and kisses her. Eric then takes the baby and puts him in the stroller.

Stefan returns to Ava’s apartment and presents his copy of the evidence room key. Ava says now she just has to fix it so that Harris finds his keys. Stefan says that’s the easy part while the tricky part will be getting in to the room and finding whatever they have on Clyde’s associate. Ava argues that Stefan’s brother is the district attorney and asks if he can’t find a way to work this out with him. Stefan tells Ava that he even offered EJ all of their DiMera shares but he’s a stubborn son of a bitch and he’s on his bad side, so EJ is going to make him pay for it in spades.

EJ and Nicole walk past the Brady Pub. Nicole stops and doesn’t know if she can do this. EJ brings up the fries that she loves. Nicole says she craved those when pregnant and thought getting them now would make her feel closer to her son. Nicole says she realizes if people ask how she’s doing, she’s not sure what to tell him because she doesn’t know. EJ understands and offers to go in and grab the fries while she stays outside which Nicole agrees to. EJ kisses her and heads in to the Pub. Nicole cries that she misses her baby so much. Eric then comes around the corner with his baby in the stroller.

Melinda tells Dr. Pierce that she only got involved in the adoption because she lost her job, she needed the money, it paid well and she was helping a friend. Melinda adds that she stuck her neck out mostly out of the goodness of her own heart which Dr. Pierce laugh at. Melinda says he’s in no position to judge since he went along with it all the way. Dr. Pierce says he regrets it and calls the whole scheme rotten to the core and he hopes it doesn’t backfire on them. Melinda hopes the same and that she never sees him again which he says is fine by him. Melinda pays him off and he then exits. Melinda then pulls out her phone.

Harris returns to Leo in the interrogation room and asks if he reached his lawyer. Leo tells him that he’s not worried about getting out of this place, he’s instead mourning the loss of the baby that he happened to deliver. Leo remarks that he doesn’t know if he’s ever been this sad in his entire life. Harris questions Leo having a heart. Leo states that aside from Dimitri, everyone in town thinks he’s a shallow loser. Harris asks if his lawyer is on her way. Leo responds that she’s unfortunately not as she was otherwise engaged.

Sloan remains at home, complaining that it was almost as if the baby could tell Eric was his real father and that she wasn’t the real mother. Sloan worries that she’s not cut out for this and wonders if she just made the biggest mistake of her life. Sloan then gets a text from Melinda, saying it’s all going to be okay. Dimitri then shows up at Sloan’s door and declares that he’s back.

Eric thought Nicole would still be in the hospital. Nicole responds that she just got released and that EJ is in the Pub getting takeout. Nicole asks about Eric’s baby and didn’t realize he had him yet. Eric confirms that Melinda brought him by a little while ago, so he came to show him off to his dad. Eric says he better get inside but Nicole stops him and asks if he would mind if she held the baby.

At the Brady Pub, Tate tells Brady that he was right, admitting that he wasn’t happy about coming in early to prepare meals for the homeless but after delivering them, he feels good. Brady agrees that it feels good and says they have two extra turkey dinners so he invites Tate to have a feast with him which Tate agrees sounds fun.

Chanel sets the table for Thanksgiving dinner and tells Paulina that she knows how excited she is to have Abe over. Paulina says she’s not the only one with reason to give thanks for romantic perspects. Chanel says that she and Johnny are good but Paulina questions her frown. Chanel claims it’s nothing but Paulina insists. Chanel then admits that she’s just worried that some other girl is trying to catch her man’s eye.

At the DiMera Mansion, Johnny finds Holly alone in the living room. Johnny mentions that he’s heading to Chanel’s for Thanksgiving dinner. Johnny tells her that he knows it’s a tough time for all of them. Holly claims she’s fine. Johnny asks if she’s sure about that. Holly then admits she’s not fine at all. Johnny hugs Holly as she cries.

Chad goes home where Stephanie shows him that his kids made him his own trophy in case he didn’t win the turkey trot. Stephanie mentions that the kids are in their room doing a glow in the dark puzzle. Chad thanks Stephanie for bringing them to cheer him on. Stephanie is sure he raised a lot of money for a good cause. Chad says he’s going to shower. Stephanie mentions that she heard from Doug and Julie and that they said they can come over for Thanksgiving around 5 so they are fine on time. After Chad goes to shower, Stephanie sees Chad’s phone ring with a call from Gwen and questions why she’s calling Chad.

Julie is startled to find Everett in the Horton house as he wishes her a Happy Thanksgiving.

Paulina questions Chanel thinking Holly has it bad for Johnny. Chanel says she does a terrible job at hiding her crush. Paulina asks about them being related. Chanel explains that they are technically now stepsiblings but not related by blood. Paulina brings up Johnny and Chanel having a history of being in a love triangle but Chanel insists this is nothing like those times because this is not serious. Paulina points out that she’s looking pretty glum about it. Chanel says that’s just because things have been going so well for them and she doesn’t want any complications. Paulina calls that understandable. Chanel says even if it just silly, she doesn’t need an angsty teenage girl looking at her boyfriend while staring daggers at her.

Johnny tells Holly that it’s so sad what happened to Nicole and EJ, losing their baby the way they did. Holly wishes they at least got to meet their baby brother. Holly says he should probably go so he’s not late to Thanksgiving dinner with his girlfriend. Johnny asks if Holly has any plans. Holly says EJ is at the hospital with Nicole, Kristen took Rachel out, and Stefan is visiting Gabi in prison so she has no plans. Johnny then tells her that she does now.

Julie questions who Everett is and what he’s doing in her dining room. Everett informs her that Doug let him in and apologizes as he introduces himself as Everett Lynch, the new editor of the Spectator and he’s here to tell her story which Julie questions. Everett explains that he’s new in town but saw Tom and Alice’s plaque in the town square, so he knows the Horton family and that Julie and Doug are the living matriarch and patriarch of the city. Everett says he’d love to do a feature on them both for the paper. Julie responds that she’s surprised because his last feature was on Leo Stark, who deserves to be in an institution. Julie adds that he went to great lengths to glorify Leo’s crimes in that feature article and now he appears on Thanksgiving, full of hubris and sure that she and Doug will want to give him an interview to fulfill whatever his vision is. Julie informs him that they are not going to give him a word to print about them in his paper and adds that she plans to cancel their subscription. Julie argues that the Spectator has been going steadily downhill ever since it was stolen by Xander and Gwen from Jennifer and Jack. Julie declares that the only thing that would save the paper is a new regime and new ownership that cleans house.

Chad returns to Stephanie and jokes about taking the fastest shower in the world. Stephanie hands him his phone and informs him that he missed a call from Gwen that she just happened to see. Stephanie questions why Gwen is calling Chad as she thought he hated her. Chad claims that he does hate her and doesn’t know why she’s calling. Stephanie questions if he’s not curious about the message she left and notes that she is. Chad listens to the message and then claims that Gwen was just calling to wish Thomas a happy birthday tomorrow since they were close when she was his nanny. Stephanie tells Chad to finish getting ready as she exits the room to see what’s going on. Chad then pulls his phone out and calls Gwen back to tell her that the contracts are signed and the money will be transferred tomorrow. Chad thanks Gwen for selling him her half of the Spectator and reminds her to keep it to herself, because he doesn’t want Stephanie to find out why he’s doing this to get Everett Lynch out of their lives.

Everett explains to Julie that Leo’s gossip column was very popular. Julie argues that he had no moral integrity. Everett says he’s still finding his footing and hoped an article on Doug and Julie would help him find his balance. Everett assures that he wants to restore Jack and Jennifer’s legacy in making the Spectator a respected institution. Julie decides to believe him and says something about his face makes her want to believe him.

Brady and Tate eat together at the Pub. Brady jokes about Tate finishing quick. Tate mentions having another dinner with Theresa later. Brady gets a text from Marlena about his second dinner with her since John is out on a case. Brady mentions wanting to send Nicole a text since the accident and he feels horrible. Brady asks if Tate has reached out to Holly but Tate thinks she would prefer a little space right now.

Paulina tells Chanel that she knows it’s no fun to have another girl looking at her man but she needs to remember that Johnny is beyond lucky to have her. Chanel then gets a call from Johnny. Johnny says he hates to do this but he’s afraid he’s not going to be able to make Thanksgiving with her at her mom’s. Chanel asks why not. Johnny explains that Holly is at home alone and really upset about Nicole’s baby. Johnny suggests maybe they can hang out later. Chanel says maybe and that she totally gets it. Johnny says he knew she would. Chanel says he’s a good guy so he’s going to be there for his family when they are hurting since he has a really big heart and she knows Holly needs him right now. Chanel starts to say something but then stops and just sends her condolences to Holly. Johnny repeats that he’s really sorry about tonight and says he’ll call her later. They hang up and then Abe arrives. Abe wishes Chanel a Happy Thanksgiving and notes there are four places at the table so he asks if Chanel’s boyfriend will be joining them. Chanel responds that he was supposed to, but something came up.

Holly tells Johnny that he didn’t have to do that as she would be okay alone. Johnny tells her it’s okay and that Chanel was very understanding. Johnny says he’ll make it up to them so it’s no big deal. Johnny knows EJ gave the cook the day off, so he suggests they go to the kitchen to see what they can throw together for Thanksgiving dinner which Holly agrees to.

Tate explains to Brady that when Nicole went missing, he tried to comfort Holly but he misread the moment and asked if they were going to kiss. Tate complains that he was just trying to make her feel better and he didn’t make any big moves, but women can be hard to read. Brady jokes that it doesn’t get any easier. Tate says he tried texting Holly, but she’s ghosting him. Brady suggests trying to actually call her. Tate doesn’t think she will pick up. Brady advises Tate to not give up as he thinks Holly could use somebody to lean on. Tate says he’s probably right. Brady tells him to just respect her boundaries. Tate points out that he didn’t kiss her. Brady insists that he’s no better at navigating relationships. Brady suggests that if Tate doesn’t think Holly will answer her call, he can try bringing her a slice of pumpkin pie which Tate calls a great idea.

Chad and Stephanie go to the Horton House where Julie greets them and says she’s thankful they are there. Julie asks about the kids. Chad points out they are outside on the swing. They joke about their dinner. Chad brings a pie that he says he helped the kids make. Stephanie assumes that Doug is cooking in the kitchen. Julie says he’s actually taking a nap after the turkey trot wore him out, but he’ll be down for dessert. Chad jokes about it wearing him out too. Everett then walks in and says everything is going smoothly in the kitchen. Everett is surprised to see Stephanie and Chad as he wishes them a Happy Thanksgiving. Stephanie greets him. Julie explains that she invited Everett to join them for Thanksgiving dinner since he has no family in Salem, so tonight, they are his family. Chad questions Julie and Everett knowing each other. Everett says maybe in a previous life, but they just met as he asked Julie if she and Doug would be willing to do a profile for the Spectator. Everett says that Julie has been very kind while Julie says that Everett has been very helpful in the kitchen while telling stories of his early days in journalism as she calls him very charming. Stephanie suggests Chad and Everett go check on the turkey while she helps Julie out here. Chad questions why they both have to check on the turkey. Julie asks them to put the side dishes in the oven, so Chad and Everett head to the kitchen. Julie apologizes to Stephanie and asks if she’s upset that she invited Everett to dinner. Stephanie then informs Julie that Everett is her ex-boyfriend. Julie assumes their breakup was amicable. Stephanie says it was abrupt and confusing. Stephanie adds that Everett is a nice guy but she doesn’t think he’s convinced that she has moved on with Chad. Julie understands that can be difficult and apologizes as she had no idea. Julie doesn’t see how she can ask him to leave now. Stephanie assures that she can’t. Julie jokes that Thanksgiving dinner this year will be awkward.

Abe, Paulina, and Chanel have Thanksgiving dinner. Abe praises the buttermilk biscuits as the best he’s ever had and says everything was delicious as he thanks Paulina. Paulina is just so glad he could join them. Abe calls it a wonderful Thanksgiving day. Abe asks what Chanel has been up to. Chanel explains that she just got back from visiting Lani in Maryland and that she stopped to visit Eli and the twins. Chanel shows Abe the pictures on her phone. Abe comments on the children, then stops and thanks Chanel, saying he doesn’t want to see anymore because it’s hard for him to see pictures of his daughter and grandkids when he doesn’t really remember anything about them. Chanel understands that would be hard and apologizes for upsetting him. Paulina asks Chanel to give them a minute. Chanel says the Bakery is a mess from all their holiday orders so she can go there to do some cleaning, but Abe asks her not to go and insists that he’s okay. Chanel tells him that he doesn’t have to be okay as they get it and they are here for him. Abe doesn’t want her to miss dessert. Chanel says they have plenty at the Bakery so she’s heading there now. Chanel assures that they are thankful Abe is there. Chanel then exits.

Johnny and Holly have sandwiches for Thanksgiving dinner. Johnny helps her wipe gravy from her face as she smiles. Tate then walks in with slices of pie and says he comes with dessert as Holly looks annoyed.

Chad, Stephanie, Everett, and Julie go to the dining room. Everett thanks Julie for including him. Julie apologizes for it taking so long since Doug is still resting and the kids are playing. Stephanie says she will get the kids when the food is ready. Julie suggests they all sit at the table. Chad pulls out Julie’s chair for her while Everett does the same for Stephanie, which annoys Chad as they sit down.

Tate apologizes if he interrupted their Thanksgiving dinner as he was just hoping to talk to Holly for a minute. Johnny tells him it’s no problem and that he only brought dessert for two anyway. Johnny decides if Holly doesn’t mind, he’s going to run over to Chanel’s for dessert since Holly is no longer alone. Holly claims that’s fine. Johnny wishes them a Happy Thanksgiving and exits. Tate apologizes for his timing. Holly responds that she’s actually glad he’s here. Tate asks if that means she forgives him for acting like a total idiot the last time they saw each other. Holly responds that she does but on one condition. Holly then tells Tate that she needs him to help her break up Johnny and Chanel.

Abe hopes he didn’t do anything to make Chanel leave. Paulina assures that she’ll be fine and she’ll be back later. Paulina encourages Abe to try his pie, so he does and calls it his favorite. Paulina thinks back to the last time she kissed Abe and scared him off. Abe asks where she went. Paulina admits she was very tempted to kiss him but remembered the last time she did and what a mistake it was since she scared him off.

Julie suggests pouring the wine while waiting for the others. Chad pours Julie’s wine while Everett pours Stephanie’s. Julie gets a text from Doug, saying he’s getting some more rest so they can go ahead and enjoy the wine and that he will make a toast when he gets there. Julie asks who wants to go first. Chad and Everett speak up at the same time but Chad stands up first. Chad toasts to Julie and Doug because he wanted them to know how grateful they are for them, for their kindness, warmth, and welcoming them in to their home. Chad says he and the kids love them so much and they mean a lot to them. Julie responds that they love them too. Chad toasts to his beautiful girlfriend Stephanie, saying his life is so much better with her in it and the kids too. Chad tells her that they love her and appreciate her so much as she just means so much to them. Chad tells Stephanie that he loves her. Chad stops and imagines firing Everett from the Spectator at the table. Stephanie calls out to him so Chad guesses he zoned out and blames being exhausted from the turkey trot. Chad then toasts to his family and to new friends as he sits back down.

Abe tells Paulina that when she kissed him before, he was overwhelmed and he knows that he hurt her feelings. Paulina understands he was overwhelmed and that she was rushing him which was selfish, but she’s not going to do that anymore because it’s Thanksgiving so instead of wishing for more, she’s determined to just feel very grateful for what she has now in his wonderful company. Abe responds that he feels that way too. Abe then stops and admits that he wanted to kiss her too and he still does. Abe and Paulina then kiss.

Chanel leaves the Bakery and runs in to Johnny in the town square. Johnny says he was hoping to make it to her mom’s for dessert. Chanel says he still can but she left to give Paulina and Abe some alone time. Johnny says he’s glad he ran in to her then because she’s the one he wants to be with. Johnny apologizes for not making it for Thanksgiving dinner. Chanel repeats that it’s okay and she understands. Chanel asks how Holly is. Johnny responds that he left her in good hands.

Tate questions Holly wanting him to help her break up Johnny and Chanel. Holly responds that she’s going to make it happen whether he helps or not, but it would go a little faster with his assistance. Tate questions if she really wants to do this and points out that it’s not very nice. Tate knows she doesn’t want to hear this, but Johnny is way too old for her. Holly argues that they could’ve been friends again but declares that she’s no longer interested. Holly tells Tate to never help her again with anything and keep his stupid opinions to himself.

Chanel tells Johnny about her day at the Bakery and how a customer waited an hour for her to make ten boxes of cookies. Johnny calls it unbelievable how generous she is with her time and talents. Chanel thinks she was just in a really good mood because she knew she was seeing him for Thanksgiving as she hugs him. Johnny repeats that he’s sorry for missing Thanksgiving dinner. Chanel states that they are together now and that’s all that matters. Chanel tells him how glad she is that they found each other again. They wish each other a Happy Thanksgiving and then kiss.

Tate reluctantly agrees to help Holly but makes her apologize for saying his opinions were stupid. Holly says she was just upset but didn’t mean to hurt his feelings. Tate blows it off and says he’s over it. Tate tells Holly that she’s his friend, so he wants to see her happy. Holly hugs him and calls him the best. Holly says she will be happy and over the moon once Johnny sees how wrong Chanel is for him. Holly declares that by the time Christmas comes, Johnny will be sharing dessert with her.
